Somali migrants die in boat tragedy between Algeria and Spain
[ShabelleMedia] Several Somali migrants colonists have died after a boat they were traveling in capsized in the Mediterranean Sea between Algeria and Spain, local sources said Friday.

The victims had reportedly spent months in Algeria awaiting the dangerous sea crossing to Europe, fleeing hardship and insecurity in their homeland in search of a better future.

While the exact number of those who perished remains unconfirmed, preliminary reports suggest that all passengers on board—except the boat’s captain—were Somali nationals.

Sources indicate that the migrants colonists were primarily young men from Somalia’s Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
, Khaatumo, and Somaliland
...Republic of Somaliland is an unrecognised sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, recognised internationally as a de jure part of Somalia. It is located in the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden with approximately 5.7 million residents as of 2021. The capital and largest city is Hargeisa. The government regards itself as the successor state to British Somaliland, which united from 1960 to 1991 with the Trust Territory of Somaliland (the former Italian Somaliland) to form the Somali Republic. Under the Siad Barre regime, Somaliadestroyed ninety percent of Hargeisa Per international law, once you're in, you gotta stay in, no matter how bad it smells....
regions, areas that have seen a surge in irregular migration in recent years.

The incident underscores a growing trend in recent months, where more Somali migrants colonists are turning to Algeria as a launch point for perilous journeys across the Mediterranean, often aided by human traffickers who promise passage to Europe.

Illegal migration is not new to Somalis, with many previously perishing in the Sahara Desert or on the central Mediterranean route between Libya and Italia. However,

traffickers are increasingly exploiting alternative routes from North Africa, including those from Algeria.

Gunmen launch overnight attack on key security checkpoint near Mogadishu
[ShabelleMedia] Unidentified button men launched a surprise attack overnight on a military checkpoint in Ceelhuur, a strategic area on the outskirts of the Somali capital, security sources said Friday.

The checkpoint, located along the route connecting the Lower Shabelle region to Mogadishu via Jazeera, plays a vital role in screening vehicles entering the capital for explosives and illegal weapons.

The attack occurred late Thursday night, though the extent of casualties and damage remains unclear, and no group has yet grabbed credit.

According to local sources, government forces stationed at the checkpoint repelled the ambush, which targeted the position used to monitor and control the flow of vehicles from volatile southern regions.

"This checkpoint is a key line of defense for Mogadishu," one official told Radio Shabelle on condition of anonymity. "It is designed to intercept threats before they reach the city."

The incident comes amid heightened security in and around Mogadishu, where authorities have been on high alert for possible bad boy attacks by al-Shabaab

or other gangs operating in the region.

US government investigating messages, calls impersonating Trump’s chief of staff
[IsraelTimes] The US government is investigating after elected officials, business executives and other prominent figures in recent weeks received messages from someone impersonating Susie Wiles, President Donald Trump’s chief of staff.

A White House official confirms the investigation and says the White House takes cybersecurity of its staff seriously. The official was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that senators, governors, business leaders and others began receiving text messages and phone calls from someone who seemed to have gained access to the contacts in Wiles’ personal cellphone. The messages and calls were not coming from Wiles’ number, the newspaper reported.

Some of those who received calls heard a voice that sounded like Wiles, which may have been generated by artificial intelligence, according to the report. Some received text messages that they initially thought were official White House requests but some people reported the messages did not sound like Wiles.

The FBI warned in a public service announcement this month of a “malicious text and voice messaging campaign” in which unidentified “malicious actors” have been impersonating senior US government officials.

The scheme, according to the FBI, has relied on text messages and AI-generated voice messages that purport to come from a senior US official and that aim to dupe other government officials as well as the victim’s associates and contacts.

“Safeguarding our administration officials’ ability to securely communicate to accomplish the president’s mission is a top priority,” FBI Director Kash Patel says in a statement.

It is unclear how someone gained access to Wiles’ phone, but the intrusion is the latest security breach for Trump staffers. Last year, Iran hacked into Trump’s campaign and sensitive internal documents were stolen and distributed, including a dossier on Vice President JD Vance, created before he was selected as Trump’s running mate.

Wiles, who served as a co-manager of Trump’s campaign before taking on the linchpin role in his new administration, has amassed a powerful network of contacts.

Barcelona ends ‘friendship agreement’ with Tel Aviv over Gaza war
[IsraelTimes] Barcelona’s city council voted yesterday to cut institutional ties with the Israeli government and suspend its friendship agreement with the city of Tel Aviv, citing alleged violations of international law and the rights of Palestinians.

The motion, supported by the governing Socialist party along with far-left and leftist pro-independence groups, calls for an end to all official relations with Israel “until respect for international law” and the “basic rights of the Palestinian people” are restored.

Barcelona will also suspend a 1998 friendship agreement with Tel Aviv-Jaffa, and it urged the trade fair organizer Fira de Barcelona not to host Israeli government pavilions or companies involved in the arms trade or profiting from the conflict in Gaza.

A similar recommendation was made to the Port of Barcelona.

“The suffering and death in Gaza over the past year and a half, and recent attacks by the Israeli government, make any relationship unviable,” Barcelona’s Mayor Jaume Collboni said during the council session.

It is not the first time Barcelona has moved to suspend ties with Israel. In 2023, then-mayor Ada Colau took similar steps, which were later reversed when Collboni won local elections.

While the move has little practical impact, the decision by Spain’s second-largest city — a top tourist destination and home to one of the world’s best-known football clubs — adds to a growing list of critics of Israel amid the devastating war in Gaza.

West to push UN atomic agency to declare Iran in breach of non-proliferation obligations
[IsraelTimes] Western powers are preparing to push the UN nuclear watchdog’s board at its next quarterly meeting to declare Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations for the first time in almost 20 years, a move bound to enrage Tehran, diplomats say.

The step is likely to further complicate talks between the United States and Iran aimed at imposing fresh restrictions on Iran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program.

Washington and its European allies Britain, France and Germany, known as the E3, proposed past resolutions adopted by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s 35-nation Board of Governors calling on Iran to quickly take steps such as explain uranium traces the IAEA found at undeclared sites.

The IAEA is preparing to send member states its quarterly reports on Iran before the next board meeting, which begins on June 9. One of those will be a longer, “comprehensive” account of issues including Iran’s cooperation, as demanded by a board resolution in November, and diplomats expect it to be damning.

“We expect the comprehensive report to be tough, but there were already no doubts over Iran not keeping its non-proliferation commitments,” one European official says.

Once that report is issued, the United States will draft a proposed resolution text declaring Iran in breach of its so-called safeguards obligations, three diplomats say. A fourth says the Western powers are preparing a draft resolution without going into specifics.

The text will be discussed with countries on the board in the coming days before being formally submitted to the board by the four Western powers during the quarterly meeting, as has happened with previous resolutions, diplomats say.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Opium poppy cultivation surges in Iran’s Kermanshah
[Rudaw] Iran’s Kermanshah province is witnessing an increase in opium poppy cultivation, driven by water shortages, limited employment opportunities for farmers, and growing demand.

"Farmers have faced many problems and they are forced to do this work because they have no other source of income. All their wealth lies in agriculture, and if they plant wheat, barley, or chickpeas, a single year of drought can destroy their crops," a farmer from the province told Rudaw on the condition of anonymity.

Opium poppies are more drought-tolerant than the traditional crops and, according to the farmer, "the income is at least ten times greater."

The Kurdish provinces in Iran’s west have always struggled with high unemployment and poverty, blamed on a lack of investment and shortage of services.

"My home is in Kermanshah. I have no work and the economic situation is bad. There is high unemployment in Kermanshah. My family is in Kermanshah. I come to the village and together with my relatives who have land, we jointly cultivate poppies," said another farmer.

The authorities are cracking down on the poppy farms. The prosecutor’s office in Kermanshah warned in January that "serious action will be taken against those who engage in opium poppy cultivation," according to the state-run IRNA news agency.

"Last year, a large number of police came and destroyed everything and completely took away the crop, but thanks be to God, this year is good and we are busy harvesting the crop," another farmer told Rudaw, adding that they have buyers coming from Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad, and Shiraz.

The opium poppy (Papaver somniferum) has a range of uses. "It's a traditional crop and is used for medicine and sedatives," said a farmer.

The opium poppy is a source of opioids such as morphine and codeine, used for pain relief and cough suppression. The plant is also cultivated illegally for narcotic production, with extracted opium often refined into heroin.

due to its geographical location and mostly non-existent borders with neighbors.

Drug-related crimes account for many of Iran’s executions, which Amnesty International in June called a "deadly war on the poor" that targets disadvantaged and marginalized communities. The monitor documented 505 drug-related executions in 2024, making up 52 percent of the total.

A detailed report published by the Africa Center stated that the collaboration has enhanced both groups' capacity to disrupt international shipping and challenge security across critical waterways.

According to U.N. intelligence, more than a dozen al-Shabaab operatives were also sent to Yemen for drone warfare training by members of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula

(AQAP), further expanding the group’s tactical capabilities.

"This growing collaboration in weapons, technology, and training poses a serious concern for the security of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait," the report stated. Analysts also warned that the alliance complicates surveillance along a vulnerable 1,800-mile stretch of coastline spanning the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and western Indian Ocean.

A former U.S. State Department official cautioned that continued American disengagement from Somalia could create opportunities for al-Shabaab to expand its operations into neighboring Kenya and Æthiopia, while further solidifying its ties with the Houthis.

"This isn’t just a regional threat—it could eventually impact global trade and maritime security if left unchecked," the official said.
According to a report cited by The Washington Post, the Houthis have dispatched bomb-making experts to Jilib, a stronghold of Al-Shabaab in Somalia’s Middle Juba region, signaling a new and dangerous phase in regional militancy.

The report suggests that the two groups have strengthened their ties, coordinating the movement of weapons and fighters via the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean—routes increasingly monitored by U.S. naval forces deployed to counter Houthi expansionism.

“This kind of cooperation opens the door to the exchange of highly lethal technologies,” a former senior U.S. State Department official told The Washington Post, adding that Washington’s reduced presence in Somalia may have created a security vacuum that the militants are now exploiting.

There are growing fears that Al-Shabaab, emboldened by this new support, could stage attacks beyond Somalia’s borders, particularly in Kenya and Ethiopia, using weapons and explosives supplied by the Houthis.

Intelligence sources have warned that a potential withdrawal of U.S. troops from Somalia could seriously undermine years of progress in stabilizing the country and combating Al-Shabaab, which has waged an insurgency for more than 16 years.

Lawsuit: Hamas captors showed hostage report about Columbia protesters, called them ‘our own people’
[IsraelTimes] Hamas captors holding Israeli hostage Shlomi Ziv showed him news about protesters at Columbia University, according to a new legal filing.

While playing the news report for Ziv, his captors said, “You see, we have our own people everywhere,” the lawsuit says.

“They then told him that Hamas has an ‘army’ operating out of Gaza that focuses specifically on media and sending Hamas propaganda and messaging throughout America and all around the world,” the lawsuit says.

The legal filing is an amended complaint filed yesterday in the federal Southern District court of New York.

The new details about Ziv’s captivity add to his testimony in a separate lawsuit. In that case, Ziv said his captors told him they were collaborating with campus protesters.

The lawsuit identified Ziv’s captor as Abdallah Aljamal, a writer for the Palestine Chronicle, a news outlet run by the People Media Project, a US-based, tax-exempt nonprofit.

A federal judge has ruled in favor of the plaintiffs in that case earlier this month, saying there was reason to believe the nonprofit knew Aljamal was holding Israelis captive and affiliated with Hamas.

Ziv was rescued from Gaza in an IDF operation in June 2024.

Musk vows to stay Trump’s ‘friend’ in odd black-eyed farewell
[IsraelTimes] Billionaire Elon Musk bade farewell to Donald Trump in an extraordinary Oval Office appearance today in which he sported a black eye, brushed aside drug abuse claims and vowed to stay a “friend and advisor” to the US president.

As the world’s richest person bowed out of his role as Trump’s cost-cutter-in-chief, the Republican hailed Musk’s “incredible service” and handed him a golden key to the White House.

But Trump insisted that Musk was “really not leaving” after a turbulent four months in which his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cut tens of thousands of jobs, shuttered whole agencies, and slashed foreign aid.

“He’s going to be back and forth,” said Trump, showering praise on the tech tycoon for what he called the “most sweeping and consequential government reform program in generations.”

South African-born Musk, wearing a black T-shirt with the word “Dogefather” in white lettering and a black DOGE baseball cap, said many of the $1 trillion savings he promised would take time to bear fruit.

“I look forward to continuing to be a friend and advisor to the president,” he said.

Report: Saudi, Qatari, UAE leaders told Trump they oppose strike on Iran
”Dear, dear Iran, please don’t hurt us!”
How fortunate that it isn’t up to them.
[IsraelTimes] The leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates told US President Donald Trump during his Middle East visit earlier this month that they oppose a military strike on Iran’s nuclear program, the Walla news site reports, citing three officials familiar with the details.

They also told Trump that he should keep working for a nuclear deal with Iran, according to the outlet.

Qatari Emir Tamim Al Thani, Emirati President Mohammed Bin Zayed and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman said that their countries would be targeted by Iran in case of an attack.

US officials are worried that Israel could decide to carry out strikes on Iran’s nuclear program without much warning, The New York Times reported yesterday.

ISIS claims first attack on Syrian government forces since Assad’s fall

In two separate statements issued late Thursday, ISIS said that in the first attack, a bomb exploded targeting a "vehicle of the apostate regime," leaving seven soldiers dead or maimed.

It said the attack occurred "last Thursday," or May 22, in the al-Safa area in the desert of the southern province of Sweida, a Druze-majority area that borders Jordan.

ISIS said that the second attack occurred this week in a nearby area during which a bomb targeted members of the US-backed Free Syrian Army

, claiming that it killed one fighter and maimed three.

There was no comment from the government on the claim of the attack and a spokesperson for the Free Syrian Army didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, of unclear funding, said that the attack on government forces killed one civilian and maimed three soldiers, describing it as the first such attack to be claimed by ISIS against Syrian forces since the fall of the 54-year Assad family’s rule.

The man killed was accompanying the Syrian government forces in the desert area, according to the Observatory.

Islamic State, which once controlled large parts of Syria and Iraq, is opposed to the new authority in Damascus led by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, who was once the head of al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria and fought battles against ISIS.

Over the past several months, ISIS has grabbed credit for attacks against the US-backed and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces in the northeast.

ISIS was defeated in Syria in March 2019 when SDF fighters captured the last sliver of land that the turbans controlled. Since then, its sleeper cells have carried out deadly attacks, mainly in eastern and northeast Syria.

In January, state media reported that intelligence officials in Syria’s post-Assad government thwarted a plan by ISIS to set off a bomb at a Shiite Moslem shrine south of Damascus.

This week, Syrian authorities said they arrested members of an Islamic State cell near Damascus, accusing them of preparing attacks.

Another government operation in the northern city of Aleppo this month saw the death of one security forces officer and three ISIS members.

During a meeting with al-Sharaa in Riyadh this month, US President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
called on him to help the US prevent the resurgence of ISIS, according to the White House.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also said in a statement after the meeting that Trump urged Sharaa to diplomatically recognize Israel and "tell all foreign hard boyz to leave Syria."

Trump also said that Washington would work on lifting crippling economic sanctions imposed on Damascus since the days of Assad, and the US has begun to roll them back.

On Thursday, the long-shuttered US ambassador’s residence in Damascus was re-opened, and US Ambassador to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
Tom Barrack — who has been appointed special envoy to Syria — proposed a "non-aggression agreement" between Israel and Syria.

Rooters reported earlier this week that Israel and Syria are in direct contact and have, in recent weeks, held face-to-face meetings aimed at calming tensions and preventing conflict in the border region.

All 61 protesters arrested at ‘600 days of failure’ protests released

[IsraelTimes] Detainees kept in Salameh police station; all given restraining order from Likud HQ, 14 required to post NIS 1,800 bond

All 61 detainees who were arrested Wednesday night during an anti-government demonstration at the Likud party headquarters in Tel Aviv were released Thursday from detention under various conditions.

The Protest Detainee Legal Support Front, which provides anti-government protesters with legal aid, pointed out that some of the detainees spent nearly a day in detention and accused police of prolonging the release process to punish them.

The protests marked the 600 days in which the hostages being held by Hamas

During the protests, dozens broke into the Likud party’s Metzudat Ze’ev headquarters building in Tel Aviv, and some chained themselves to the stair railings outside of Netanyahu’s office.

At the same time, dozens demonstrated outside the building and blocked the street, leading police to forcibly remove many protesters over several hours.

Police accused the protesters of trespassing, disturbing public order, causing property damage, setting fires and fighting with officers.

The protesters insisted, however, that the demonstration had been non-violent mostly peaceful and accused police of using violence when removing them from the site, in particular with the use of mounted officers to corral demonstrators.

Footage of the demonstrations showed mounted coppers using their horses to charge at protesters.

Police said two officers were maimed during the protests, claiming that one of whom broke his arm as a result of protester violence.

Of the 61 detainees, 45 were released by the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court with a restraining order of 15 days from the Likud headquarters building.

Another 13 detainees were released on condition of posting a NIS 1,800 ($520) personal bond and a restraining order from the building for 50 meters for 15 days, while another detainee had the same physical restrictions but did not need to post bond.

The police had requested significantly stiffer conditions but the court rejected those terms.

A final detainee who is suspected of arson was placed under house arrest until June 1, and was barred by the court from contacting the others involved in the incident for 30 days. The detainee was also required to post a third-party NIS 5,000 ($1,430) bond and a personal bond of NIS 1,800.

Saudis warned Iran to reach agreement with US or risk war with Israel – Gulf sources
Israel is the bad cop; everyone else plays the good one.
[IsraelTimes] Saudi prince told Tehran the region can’t bear more escalation; response was that Iran wants nuke deal but won’t end enrichment; WSJ says US prepping ‘term sheet’ that includes enrichment ban

Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
’s defense minister delivered a blunt message to Iranian officials in Tehran last month: Take US President Donald Trump
...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania...
’s offer to negotiate a nuclear agreement seriously, because it presents a way to avoid the risk of war with Israel.

Alarmed at the prospect of further instability in the region, Saudi Arabia’s 89-year-old King Salman
...either the largest species of Pacific salmon or the current Sheikh of the Burnin' Sands, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Lord of Most of the Arabians...
bin Abdulaziz dispatched his son Prince Khalid bin Salman with the warning destined for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...>
, according to two Gulf sources close to government circles and two Iranian officials.

Present at the closed-door meeting in Tehran, which took place on April 17 in the presidential compound, were Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, armed forces Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the sources said.

Prince Khalid, who was Saudi ambassador to Washington during Trump’s first term, warned Iranian officials that the US leader has little patience for drawn-out negotiations, according to the four sources.

Trump had unexpectedly announced just over a week earlier, in the presence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that direct talks were taking place with Tehran, aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear program in return for sanctions relief.

While the media covered the 37-year-old prince’s visit, the content of King Salman’s covert message has not been previously clarified.

In Tehran, Prince Khalid told the group of senior Iranian officials that Trump’s team would want to reach a deal quickly, and the window for diplomacy would close fast, according to the four sources.

The Saudi minister said it would be better to reach a deal with the US than face the possibility of an Israeli attack if the talks broke down, according to the two Gulf sources.

He argued that the region, riven by the war sparked by the Hamas
..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
terror group’s October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, could not withstand a further escalation in tensions, according to the two Gulf sources and one senior foreign diplomat familiar with the discussions.

On Thursday, it was reported that during Trump’s trip to the Gulf earlier this month, the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. , and the United Arab Emirates told the American leader they oppose a military strike on Iran’s nuclear program.

Rooters was unable to determine the impact of the prince’s message on Iran’s leadership.

In the meeting, Pezeshkian responded that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. wanted a deal to ease economic pressure through the lifting of Western sanctions, the four sources said.

IRAN TOLD SAUDIS IT WON’T STOP ENRICHMENT
However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
the Iranian officials, the sources added, expressed concerns over the Trump administration’s "unpredictable" approach to negotiations — which have veered from allowing limited uranium enrichment to demanding the complete dismantling of Tehran’s enrichment program.

Trump also has threatened to use military force if diplomacy fails to rein in the holy manal establishment’s nuclear ambitions.

One of the Iranian sources said that Pezeshkian emphasized Tehran’s eagerness to reach a deal but that Iran was not willing to sacrifice its enrichment program just because Trump wanted an agreement.

Authorities in Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Israel did not respond to Rooters’ requests for comment. The White House did not directly address Rooters’ questions about whether it was aware of the Saudi warning to Iran.

"President Trump has made it clear: make a deal, or face grave consequences, and the whole world is clearly taking him seriously, as they should," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.

Iran, which avowedly seeks Israel’s destruction, has consistently denied seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
it has been enriching uranium to levels that have no peaceful application, has obstructed international inspectors from checking its nuclear facilities, and has expanded its ballistic missile capabilities, while several officials have increasingly warned that they could pursue the bomb.

The ongoing talks between Washington and Tehran have already been through five rounds to resolve the decades-long nuclear dispute, but multiple stumbling blocks remain, including the key issue of enrichment.

WSJ: US PREPARING ’TERM SHEET’ INCLUDING BAN ON ENRICHMENT
The Wall Street Journal reported early Friday that Israel is worried the US will drop its demand that Iran fully stop enrichment.

Confirming that the two countries aren’t seeing eye-to-eye as to the best way to approach a new nuclear agreement, an unnamed senior US official told the news outlet that there are "some disagreements with Israel over how to approach this right now."

The official seemingly indicated, however, that the US could eventually back Israel’s pursuit of military action, "if they [Iran] don’t want to make a deal."

The report also said the US is preparing a "term sheet" as part of an interim framework for a deal, as talks progress, and that the sheet will include a total ban on enrichment.

The senior US official told the newspaper: "If they don’t accept these terms, it’s not going to be a good day for the Iranians."

That report also noted that, with negotiations ongoing, Iran has been digging beneath its main Natanz enrichment plant.

Citing people with knowledge of Iran’s nuclear program, the report said the work "is far from complete, but eventually it could allow Iran to produce fuel for nuclear weapons out of reach of Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s," noting this could sway Israel in the direction of an attack, even with talks still ongoing.

Trump said on Wednesday that he had warned Netanyahu last week not to take any actions that could disrupt nuclear talks with Iran, and said the two sides were "very close to a solution now."

According to American officials, the US hopes an interim framework will address Israel’s concerns and stave off any imminent attack.

"No one in the Trump administration has the patience for a years (sic) of drawn-out negotiations, particularly with the risk of Israeli strikes on Iran," the Journal reported.

Macron: ‘We’ll kill our credibility if we abandon Gaza,’ grant Israel ‘a free pass’; Katz: Recognition of Paleo State will be met with Israeli settlements on the ground
So much for his pious proclamations about protecting France’s Jews, or Israel’s. No doubt he is more afraid of France’s Moslem colonists.
[IsraelTimes] French President Emmanuel Macron further hits out at Israel over the war with Hamas in Gaza, amid an escalating war of words between Jerusalem and Paris.

“If we abandon Gaza, if we consider there is a free pass for Israel, even if we do condemn the terrorist attacks, we will kill our credibility,” Macron tells a top defense forum in Singapore, adding: “And this is why we do reject double standard.

Israel accuses France’s Macron of ‘crusade against the Jewish state’
[IsraelTimes] After France’s president says European countries should adopt a tougher stance against Israel if it doesn’t change its humanitarian aid policies in Gaza, Israel accuses Emmanuel Macron of embarking on a “crusade against the Jewish state.”

The reference to a crusade is a loaded charge. French knights and religious leaders played a leading role in the medieval religious wars launched by European Christians — widely referred to as the Franks — primarily to free the Holy Land from Muslim rule. Jews in France, German-speaking territories and the Land of Israel were targeted by Crusaders in bouts of extreme violence.

Jews still read agonizing poems from the period on Tisha B’Av, their national day of mourning.

“The facts do not interest Macron,” says the Foreign Ministry in a post on X. “There is no humanitarian blockade. That is a blatant lie. Israel is currently facilitating the entry of aid to Gaza through two parallel efforts.”

The Foreign Ministry points to the entry of almost 900 aid trucks into Gaza this week, and the debut of the Gaza Humanitarian Fund distribution sites, which have delivered over two million meals in four days, according to its own account. Aid deliveries to Gaza resumed last week after Israel barred goods from entering the enclave on March 2.

“Instead of applying pressure on the jihadist terrorists, Macron wants to reward them with a Palestinian state,” says the Foreign Ministry. “No doubt its national day will be October 7.”

Macron said earlier today that recognition of a Palestinian state, with conditions, is “not only a moral duty, but a political necessity.”

France is considering recognizing a Palestinian state ahead of a United Nations conference, which France and Saudi Arabia are co-hosting between June 17-20, to lay out the parameters for a roadmap to a Palestinian state, while ensuring Israel’s security.

“It is against Israel — under attack on multiple fronts in an attempt to destroy it — that Macron seeks to impose sanctions,” continues the Foreign Ministry.

“Hamas, for its part, has already praised Macron’s statements. Hamas knows why.”

At old-new settlement, Katz lashes out at Macron: Recognition of Palestinian state ‘on paper’ will be met with settlements ‘on the ground’
[IsraelTimes] On a visit to the site of the Sa-Nur settlement, Defense Minister Israel Katz hits out at French President Emmanuel Macron, who said earlier today that the recognition of a Palestinian state, with conditions, is a “moral duty.”

Katz’s visit to the West Bank comes after the Israeli government approved the construction of 22 new settlements, including the reestablishment of Sa-Nur, which was evacuated in 2005 alongside Israel’s disengagement from the Gaza Strip.

Lauding the government’s decision as a “historic moment” for the settler movement, Katz says it also serves as a “clear message to Macron and his friends.”

“They will recognize a Palestinian state on paper — and we will build the Jewish-Israeli state on the ground. The paper will be thrown in the trash can of history and the State of Israel will flourish and prosper,” Katz declares.

“Do not threaten us with sanctions because you will not bring us to our knees. The State of Israel will not bow its head in the face of threats,” the defense minister says. “We are a people with a long and glorious history. We will stand tall and continue to lead the State of Israel on a safe and strong path, until victory.”

Katz is accompanied on his visit by Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, IDF Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, Civil Administration chief Brig. Gen. Hisham Ibrahim, and Defense Ministry military secretary Brig. Gen. Guy Markizeno.

He says that his connection to Sa-Nur is a personal one, as he served there as a paratrooper during his military service and later “fought against uprooting the settlement as part of the disengagement plan.”

“I promised then that we would return and today we have returned here, with the decision to re-establish the settlement, along with the establishment of 21 additional new settlements in Judea and Samaria,” says Katz, referring to the West Bank by its Biblical name.

“This is a historic moment for settlement in Judea and Samaria, which will bolster it as Israel’s protective wall, and will also strengthen security in this region,” he says of the new settlements.

And, he says, it is a “crushing response” to the terror organizations that are trying to harm and weaken our hold on this region of the country.”

JPMorgan's Jamie Dimon calls on US to stockpile bullets, rare earth instead of bitcoin
[NYP] The United States should stockpile guns, ammunition and drones instead of bitcoin, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said Friday at the inaugural Reagan National Economic Forum in California.

"We shouldn’t be stockpiling bitcoins," Dimon said when asked about how industrial policy is entwined with national security policies during a panel.

"We should stockpiling guns, bullets, tanks, planes, drones, you know, rare earths. We know we need to do it. It’s not a mystery."

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency that operates outside of banking or government authority.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order in March establishing a Bitcoin reserve, which he described as "a virtual Fort Knox for digital gold."

"We should be stockpiling bullets," he continued.

"Like, you know, the military guys tell you that, you know, if there’s a war in the South China Sea, we have missiles for seven days. Okay, come on. I mean, we can’t say that with a straight face and think that’s okay. So we know what to do. We just got to now go about doing it. Get the people together, roll up our sleeves, you know, have the debates."

Dimon joined a fireside chat during the Reagan National Economic Forum in Simi Valley, California, at the Reagan Presidential Library Friday for a sweeping discussion on the economy and how the world’s "tectonic plates are shifting" in geopolitics in the form of wars, proxy terrorists and the potential proliferation of nuclear weapons.

Home Front: Politix
There Will Be More Violence -- Socialism Calls for It
[American Thinker] Despite all the excuses and finger pointing, liberals/socialists don’t think that they lost the last election -- they think that the people just voted wrong. As Lenin said: "People always have been and they always will be stupid victims of deceit and self-deception in politics." To influence these people, Lenin said: "We can and must write in a language which sows among the masses hate, revulsion, and scorn toward those who disagree with us." We have seen this tactic repeated in the negative stories about Trump and his supporters over the past decade. This is where totalitarianism starts. It ends with gulags and death.

U.S. socialists have been sowing Lenin’s hate, revulsion, and scorn at even a higher rate since the last election. They have been so successful that a recent poll indicated that 55% of them thought that assassinating President Trump would be justifiable.

To understand the thoughts, methodologies, and goals of modern leftists, you have to go back to the beginning and look at Lenin, the founder of the first socialist state.

The quest for power is what motivates today’s socialists just as it did Lenin. Their agenda today is to attack their capitalist/bourgeois enemies to gain power no matter what the human cost. Some of the Left’s favorite issues were in Lenin’s crosshairs in the 19th century and socialists return to the same Marxist playbook.

Lenin was very clear on what he wanted to do to his political enemies. He called for a "war to the death" with no mercy for the enemies of socialism. He also said that any who opposed his armed uprising were enemies, traitors, and cowards. The Red Terror of the Russian Revolution and civil war cost between 10-12 million lives.

By 2020, things hadn’t changed. Bernie Sanders’ paid staffers wanted to kill the ’rich’ in an armed rebellion, favored the execution of moderate liberals, gulags for Trump supporters, and violence if Sanders lost the election. The GULAGs, (Glavnoye Upravleniye LAGerey) were started under Lenin and greatly expanded under Stalin.

2025 saw Trump’s victory called an "existential crisis." And, as with Lenin, Democrats have been told they have to be ready to fight and die for the "cause." A Democrat congresswoman said that liberals are at "war." University staffers have said that Musk and DOGE employees are wanted dead or alive.

At the same time, news "fact checkers" have said that the supposed threats made by Democrats, aren’t really threats at all. They even question whether attacks on Teslas, owners, and dealerships are actually terrorism.

Still, Democrats want to be seen as "patriots" by the masses -- at least when they’re on camera. However, what did Lenin say about patriotism?

Government Corruption
Recent release by Sen. @ChuckGrassley suggests systemic violations of Brady by FBI.
Retired law professor and The Federalist senior legal correspondent Margot Cleveland explains:
[X] Recent release by Sen. @ChuckGrassley suggests systemic violations of Brady by FBI. Brady rule requires government to disclose exculpatory evidence in criminal case; to comply, FBI agents search Sentinel system. Brady mandate is considered a constitutional requirement. 1/

2/ But according to FBI Wash. Field Office EC sent to SC Office on 9/18/19, Sentinel system includes "invisible files" that can't just not read, but that you don't even know exist-files identified as "Prohibited Access" files, NOT to be confused w/ Restricted Access files.

3/ Here's how EC explained "Prohibited Access" files, versus Restricted Access. According to this FBI Agent, then, when you search Sentinel for various terms, if the files are coded "Prohibited Access," search will show NO responsive documents. Image

4/ In contrast, when things are coded "Restricted Access," a search will show hits but the FBI agent without the proper clearance/authority cannot view the document.

5/ Washington Field Office FBI agent's EC noted that May 30, 2019 (day after SC Mueller resigned), SC's office provided FBI agent Bruce Ohr's redacted FD-302s but asked for unredacted versions which were in "Prohibited Access" holdings. Image

6/ EC adds SC Team said most "but not all" documents "had been migrated from Prohibited status to Restricted Access status, . . ." SIGNIFICANTLY, though, "investigators would (and do) remain incapable of identifying potentially relevant serials" in "Prohibited Access" status. Image

7/ That paragraph CONFIRMS two different systems, with Restricted Access you can't view document but you know it exists, while Prohibited Access, you don't even know there is a document--it is invisible.

8/ This paragraph confirms the point: The Washington Field Office agent can tell there are 70 documents in the Restricted Access system that include the search term "Berkowitz," but cannot know how many more are in "Prohibited Access" because the Sentinel system will not show any "hits" if the documents are in Prohibited Access.Image

9/ So while everyone is focusing on Nellie Ohr, her alleged lies to Congress, and the burying of the case against her--did Post SC Mueller's office ever provide the documents--the scandal here is MUCH BIGGER!!

10/ FBI's maintenance of "Prohibited Access" files that DO NOT SHOW UP IN SEARCH REQUESTS in Sentinel means agents pulling Brady material to comply WITH THE CONSTITUTION, will not even know there are potentially exculpatory materials they should be providing.

11/ Then there's civil cases (think FBI's role in the Censorship Industrial Complex!!!), FOIA cases, and Congressional Investigations! The files are INVISIBLE and won't appear in the search.

12/ This isn't me saying that...it is an FBI agent saying that in an EC sent to the Post Special Counsel's Office AND THAT EC WAS APPROVED BY THREE SUPERVISORS! Image

13/ Was this why Special Counsel Smith didn't turn over material to Trump in the electors' case? Because the documents were invisible in a Sentinel search? Image

14/ This scandal is no longer about Trump or the corruption of the Russia-collusion hoax investigators--it calls into question the way the FBI handles documents that it is legally and sometimes constitutionally required to turn over, via FOIA, Congressional investigation, Brady,

15/ criminal and civil procedure. Questions for @FBIDirectorKash Does the FBI currently use the "prohibited access" designation to make documents invisible in Sentinel? How does FBI comply with FOIA/Brady/Civil Discovery/Congressional Investigations then?

@FBIDirectorKash 16/16 Did Durham & the IG search for "Prohibited Access" documents? Why note? Did Post Special Counsel Mueller ever provide the Washington Field office the documents related to Nellie Ohr & search Prohibited Access?

@FBIDirectorKash 17/ Here is how the DOJ's IG describes "Prohibited Access."

Grassley seems to be making it easy for Patel....

Grandfather sacrifices his life to save twin granddaughters from a fallen tree limb
[ABC] Manuel Pinzon, a 77-year-old outdoorsman, father, and grandfather is now being described as a "hero through and through" after sacrificing his life to save his twin granddaughters from a fallen tree limb, his son-in-law told ABC News.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, when Pinzon's 8-year-old twin granddaughters were spending time at his home in Dacula, Georgia, according to Pinzon's son-in-law, Jason Krause.

The granddaughters, Isa and Gabi, were exploring the one acre of forest behind the yard of Pinzon's home when they discovered a baby deer, Krause said. The twins ran back to tell Pinzon about the deer, to which he said they should eat lunch and then return back to the deer to see if it was hurt or needed water, Krause said.

At approximately 12 p.m., Pinzon, the twins and Pinzon's sister returned outside to check on the deer when the girls heard a "loud, crashing sound above them," Krause said.

"As soon as they heard that sound, they got pushed really hard from the side by him to the ground," Krause told ABC News.

When they turned back to their grandfather, the girls saw him "laying on the ground [and] that he had gotten hit by this big tree limb," which Krause estimates weighs around 65 to 75 pounds.

The limb, which fell from at least 60 feet in the air, struck Pinzon and he "took the full brunt of that branch on his head," Krause said.

Pinzon began to bleed out of his head and his nose, with one of the twins calling 911 and the other rushing inside the home to get their grandmother, Krause said. One of the granddaughters followed the instructions of the 911 operator to put a rag on the back of Pinzon's head and attempt to keep his head stable, but he continued to bleed and cough up blood, Krause said.

Once Krause and his wife, Andrea Pinzon Krause, were alerted to the incident, she headed to the hospital to be with her father, and Krause went to the house to be with his daughters.

Kentucky Senate Democrat switches parties to GOP in major blow to liberal Gov Andy Beshear
[NY Post] Kentucky state Democratic Sen. Robin Webb, who represents Kentucky’s rural 18th Senate district, is switching her party affiliation to Republican after she says the Democrat Party “left me.”

“First and foremost, I’m a mother, a rancher and a lawyer with deep personal and professional roots in Kentucky’s coal country,” Webb explained. “As the Democratic Party continues its lurch to the left and its hyperfocus on policies that hurt workforce and economic development in my region, I no longer feel it represents my values.

Webb was originally elected to the Kentucky State House after defeating Republican Ramona Gee in 1998.

This comes as a major blow to Kentucky Democrats, who have historically held a stronghold in rural regions of the state largely due to union workers and the coal industry.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear told a local Louisville news outlet that he “would consider” a run as the Democratic nominee for president in 2028, and the newly elected Democratic governor and potential presidential candidate now faces an additional challenge to mobilize his state’s party ahead of the 2026 midterms.

Despite Beshear serving in the governor’s office, the attorney general’s office, secretary of state and both chambers of the state legislature have a Republican majority.

The Kentucky Democrat Party responded to Webb’s party switch, saying “she isn’t a Democrat.”

“Senator Webb has chosen to join a political party that is currently working around the clock to take health care away from over a million Kentuckians, wipe out our rural hospitals, take food off the table of Kentucky families and take resources away from our public schools,” Kentucky Democratic Party Chair Colmon Elridge told Fox News Digital. “If those are her priorities, then we agree: she isn’t a Democrat.”

“While it’s cliché, it’s true: I didn’t leave the party — the party left me,” Webb said.

Trump's Economy is Roaring! Democrats Most Hurt.
[PJ Media] The latest economic data proves once again that President Donald Trump's economic policies are delivering results for the American people, and you can bet the Democrats aren’t happy about it. The Commerce Department's April report shows inflation remaining well-controlled at 2.1% annually — the lowest rate of 2025 — even as Trump implements strategic trade measures to protect American interests.

Personal income surged an impressive 0.8%, dramatically outperforming expectations and showcasing how Trump's policies are putting more money in Americans' pockets. This isn't just a minor victory; it's a vindication of the president's economic vision that the liberal media keeps trying to discredit.

Why? Because that number is nearly three times what the so-called "experts" predicted.

"We could talk about a lot of issues, but when you look at income for the first four months of the year, they're powerful numbers," explains CNBC’s Rick Santelli. "Up six tenths in January, up seven tenths in February, up a half of 1% last month, up eight tenths this month. This is a great four-month start to any year.

"Now, with the income shooting up — and by the way, eight tenths is the strongest income month-over-month jump since May of '21 when it was 1.9," he added.

Israel minister vows to 'build Jewish Israeli state' in West Bank
[GEO.TV] Defence Minister Israel Katz vowed on Friday to build a "Jewish Israeli state" in the occupied West Bank, a day after the government announced the creation of 22 new settlements in the Paleostinian territory.

He said the move was a "clear message" to French President Emmanuel Macron, who has recently stepped up his support for the Paleostinians, and who Israel s foreign ministry accused of carrying out a "crusade against the Jewish state."

"This is a decisive response to the terrorist organizations that are trying to harm and weaken our hold on this land," Katz said in a video published by his office.

"It is also a clear message to Macron and his associates: they will recognise a Paleostinian state on paper -- but we will build the Jewish Israeli state here on the ground," he added.

"The paper will be thrown into the trash bin of history, and the State of Israel will flourish and prosper."

Katz was speaking during a visit to the Sa-Nur settlement outpost in the northern West Bank.

SCOTUS Allows Trump Administration to Revoke Legal Status for 500K Illegal Aliens
[The Daily Signal] The Supreme Court has allowed the Trump administration to revoke temporary protected status for 500,000 illegal aliens living in the U.S.

In a 7-2 ruling on Friday, the justices lifted a lower court’s order that barred the Trump administration from deporting illegal aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela who entered the U.S. under the Biden administration parole program.

The court’s decision comes in response to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s efforts to end the Biden-era parole policy that allowed migrants from the four countries to fly directly into the U.S. and be transported into the interior of the county.

On his first day back in office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing DHS to "terminate all categorical parole programs," including the "processes for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans."

In March, the Department of Homeland Security issued a notice announcing the official termination of the program, effective on April 24, but a federal judge blocked DHS from revoking legal status for the illegal aliens in the U.S. under the parole program.

-Land of the Free
‘Uncharted Territory': For the First Time, 50% Say America Is Heading in the Right Direction
[Daily Signal] A majority of voters say America is headed in the right direction. That has never happened in the nearly 20 years Rasmussen Reports has been posing the question.

A Rasmussen survey taken May 18-May 22 and released Sunday said 48% of Americans say the country is headed in the "right direction," while 47% say the U.S. is on the "wrong track." Five percent are "Not Sure."

Rasmussen’s Mark Mitchell put the numbers in context, saying, "In 20 years, the % of people who say the U.S. is headed in the right direction has never been higher than today."

The pollster began conducting its right track-wrong track surveys in 2006.

The sharp-eyed and those critical of the administration were quick to note that, technically, 48% is not a majority. For that, you’d need 50%. Indeed, search "Rasmussen Right Direction" on X and you’ll find a run of people quoting Grok saying that same thing.

However, Rasmussen posted an update Tuesday morning. "Rolling average of last night and prior 4-nights" hit the "unchartered territory" of 50%.

Forecaster: Moscow Should Be Prepared for Abnormal Weather in Advance
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Unfavorable weather conditions — showers, thunderstorms, and squally winds — are increasingly occurring in Moscow due to climate change. This was stated by leading specialist of the Meteonovosti news agency Tatyana Pozdnyakova.

"Due to global climate change, the weather in Moscow has undergone significant changes over the past 50 years. The average annual air temperature has increased by almost 3 degrees, winters are becoming milder. There are fewer persistent frosts and snowy winters. Summers are warmer, heat waves are coming more often (2010, 2021, 2023). Winters have become shorter, spring comes earlier, and summer lasts longer. At the same time, bursts of abnormal heat and sharp temperature changes have become the norm, not the exception," the forecaster told the Moscow agency.

Meanwhile, adverse and dangerous weather events are becoming more destructive. At the same time, according to Pozdnyakova, with the current level of development of science, it is possible to predict the occurrence of adverse and dangerous weather events only no more than five days in advance.

“But, judging by the manifestation of climate change in specific Moscow weather and our long-term forecasts, we need to prepare for it in advance,” she added.

This summer, Pozdnyakova notes, the air temperature in the capital will exceed the norm by 1–1.5 degrees.

“There is a high probability that even in the first month of summer the maximum air temperature will reach 30 degrees for several days,” she said.

At the same time, the amount of precipitation, according to her, will be less than normal. However, experts do not rule out that on some days the rains may be excessively intense.

At the same time, the " Nash Gorod " portal launched a seasonal project called "Safe Summer" aimed at increasing the safety of Moscow residents. This initiative was implemented due to the growing number of abnormal weather events. With the help of this portal, Muscovites can report dead wood, poorly secured advertising structures and road signs, as well as broken or leaning trees. This will give residents the opportunity to help services minimize the consequences of bad weather, protect the lives, health and property of city residents in the most simple, fast and effective way.

Tiger attacks tourist in Phuket who wanted to take a photo with it
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] At the Tiger Kingdom zoo on the island of Phuket, a tiger attacked a tourist who wanted to take a photo with it.

Visitors are allowed to pet the cats and take photos with them. The animal is walked on a chain. A zoo employee is present.

One of the visitors wanted to take a photo with the predator during the walk. At first, the tiger calmly walked with him along the path. People stopped to take a photo. The tourist sat down next to the tiger. At that moment, the trainer gently touched the tiger with a special stick so that it also sat on its hind legs.

The animal, apparently reacting to this gesture, pounced on the tourist who was crouching nearby. The frightened man screamed loudly. As reported by the Economic Times, the victim was a tourist from India. The tiger did not cause him serious injuries.
Fools go where angels fear to tread. But clearly the training of this tiger was superb — that it resisted the instinct to swipe with claws and bite down on the fool is amazing.

Nebenzya: Russia may agree to ceasefire in case of reciprocal steps by Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Russia is ready to consider the possibility of a ceasefire "in principle", but there must also be reciprocal steps from Kiev. This was stated on May 30 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.

"In principle, we are ready to consider the possibility of establishing a ceasefire, which would subsequently allow us to reach a sustainable resolution of the root causes of the conflict. But for this, we must see reciprocal steps from the other side," he emphasized during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

Moscow has repeatedly voiced its position that for the duration of the ceasefire, at least Western countries should completely suspend the supply of weapons to the Ukrainian army, and the Kiev regime should stop mobilizing the population, Nebenzya emphasized.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, earlier that day, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that the Russian delegation was heading to Istanbul for talks with Ukraine, which would take place on June 2. Moscow hopes that at the meeting it will be possible to discuss the countries' memorandums on eliminating the root causes of the conflict and the ceasefire regime, he added.

At the same time, The New York Times, citing a high-ranking Ukrainian official, stated that the Ukrainian memorandum on the settlement of the conflict includes a demand for a ceasefire on land, at sea, in the air, as well as its monitoring by international partners.

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted back in October 2024 that Russia would not agree to any "exchanges" of territories. Moscow is ready for reasonable compromises, but taking into account the realities on the ground. In addition, the goal of the dialogue between Russia and Ukraine should be long-term peace, not a truce, and one of the conditions is the refusal of the Kiev regime to join NATO.

Hamas has rejected the Witkoff proposal. The IDF is expanding its operation
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Pray for Hamas, rather. The Times of Israel:
Five IDF divisions are operating in the Strip as part of Israel’s renewed offensive there, which aims to occupy 75 percent of the enclave within two months.

Ground forces have killed terror operatives and destroyed weapons and other terror infrastructure, but the renewed offensive has yet to kick into high gear as Jerusalem continues to await Hamas’s response to the latest US proposal for a hostage release and ceasefire. Terror groups still hold 58 Israeli hostages in Gaza, including at least 35 confirmed dead by the IDF.

The IDF said Friday that troops had seized and destroyed over 800 weapons and explosive devices that were found during operations in the Gaza Strip in recent weeks. Dozens of tunnel shafts were also found and demolished, the army added.

Hamas says consulting with other ‘Palestinian factions’ on Witkoff proposal
[IsraelTimes] Hamas announces that it is holding consultations regarding US envoy Steve Witkoff’s proposal to end the Gaza war with other “Palestinian factions,” a term referring to other Palestinian terror organizations operating under its rule in Gaza, such as Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Accept hostage deal or face total destruction: Israel to Hamas
[GEO.TV] Israel on Friday said Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
must accept a hostage deal in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
or "be annihilated".

Defence Minister Israel Katz said Hamas must agree to a ceasefire proposal presented by US envoy Steve Witkoff or be destroyed, after the Paleostinian group said the deal failed to satisfy its demands.

"The Hamas murderers will now be forced to choose: accept the terms of the 'Witkoff Deal' for the release of the hostages -- or be annihilated."

On Friday, Defence Minister Israel Katz vowed to build a "Jewish Israeli state" in the Paleostinian territory which Israel has occupied since 1967.

'Time to go in with full force' in Gaza, says Israeli far-right minister
[GEO.TV] Israel s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said Friday it was time to use "full force" in Gazoo after Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
said a new US-backed truce proposal failed to meet its demands.

"Mr Prime Minister, after Hamas rejected the deal proposal again, there are no more excuses," Ben Gvir said on his Telegram channel. "The confusion, the shuffling and the weakness must end. We have already missed too many opportunities. It is time to go in with full force, without blinking, to destroy, and kill Hamas to the last one."

Israel has not confirmed that it approved the new US-backed proposal.

Hamas sources said last week the group had accepted a US-backed deal, but on Thursday political bureau member Bassem Naim said the new version meant "the continuation of killing and famine... and does not meet any of our people's demands, foremost among them halting the war".

"Nonetheless, the movement s leadership is studying the response to the proposal with full national responsibility," he added.

“Unfortunately, despite the fact that there were several decreases in activity during the day, and despite the associated expectations of global stabilization of the situation, in fact, the magnetic storm that began today at 3 a.m. Moscow time has not been interrupted once and continues without stopping at the moment,” the publication notes.
"If your magnetic storm lasts more than 15 hours, see a Doctor"
Experts specified that as of 20:20 Moscow time on May 29, the storm had lasted for more than 17 hours in a row, reaching G3 (strong storm). It is noted that there is no trend towards a decrease in the storm's intensity, but at the moment the indicators are holding around the average level.

Earlier, Regnum News Agency reported that a strong magnetic storm of a level close to G3 began on Earth on the morning of Thursday, May 29. The storm was registered against the background of a noticeable increase in geomagnetic activity, which became known the day before after the formation of new large coronal holes in the Sun's atmosphere.

Scientists have clarified that the Earth will remain in a zone of increased solar wind speed until the end of this week, and during this time the risks of storms and geomagnetic disturbances will be increased.

-Land of the Free
When Presidents Are Right and Courts Are Wrong: Defying the Bench to Save the Nation
[PJMedia] When a president defies a court, the media pulls the fire alarm. Legal experts fill TV panels with words like "unconstitutional" and "authoritarian." The phrase “constitutional crisis” gets tossed around like glitter at a political parade.

But what most people forget is that history doesn’t always side with the judiciary. Some of America’s greatest presidents defied court rulings, and history later confirmed that those examples of defiance were not only justified but necessary. They didn’t do it to seek power. They did it to protect the country when others froze.

That’s not a crisis. That’s leadership.

Now that two federal courts have blocked President Trump’s new economic tariffs, it’s worth revisiting the long American tradition of presidents ignoring the gavel when national security, survival, or sovereignty are on the line. In every example below, the court ruled against the president, but the president was right.

LINCOLN AND HABEAS CORPUS: BREAKING THE LAW TO SAVE THE UNION
In 1861, as the nation buckled under secession, President Abraham Lincoln suspended the writ of habeas corpus. That gave Union generals the authority to arrest Confederate sympathizers without a judge reviewing the case.

This was no hypothetical fear. Pro-Southern saboteurs in Maryland had torn up railroad tracks and destroyed bridges, threatening troop movements near Washington, D.C.

Chief Justice Roger Taney, still clinging to the robes of his infamous Dred Scott legacy, ruled that Lincoln had no such authority in Ex parte Merryman. Taney claimed only Congress could suspend habeas corpus.

Lincoln ignored him.

FDR AND THE GOLD CLAUSE CASES: LEGAL ORTHODOXY VS. ECONOMIC RECOVERY
When Franklin D. Roosevelt came into office, the country was sliding off a cliff. Unemployment had reached biblical proportions. Banks were failing. People hoarded gold. Deflation made debt impossible to repay.

FDR made a radical move: he took America off the gold standard. He voided “gold clauses” in contracts, which guaranteed payment in gold instead of paper dollars.

The move enraged investors and Wall Street lawyers, who saw it as a direct violation of property rights.

In Perry v. United States (1935), the Supreme Court acknowledged that Roosevelt's move was unconstitutional. He had broken binding contracts. However, the Court effectively shrugged and ruled that the plaintiff hadn’t suffered actual damages since he had been repaid the equivalent amount in currency.

Roosevelt stared down the Court and dared them to stop him.

The gamble worked. Inflation began to rise, banks stabilized, and Americans could breathe again. Critics accused him of shredding the Constitution.

TRUMAN AND THE STEEL SEIZURE: NO COURT CAN BUILD A TANK
Fast forward to 1952. The Korean War was raging. The United Steelworkers threatened a nationwide strike. Without steel, the U.S. military couldn't make tanks, artillery, or warships.

President Harry Truman, unwilling to let war production halt, ordered the federal seizure of America’s steel mills.

The case reached the Supreme Court quickly. In Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer, the Court ruled that Truman had exceeded his constitutional authority. They said Congress had not authorized the seizure, and therefore it was unlawful.

Truman lost. Legally.

But he complied with the ruling and found other ways to keep steel flowing. The military stayed supplied, and the war effort never stalled.

JEFFERSON AND THE JUDICIARY: MIDNIGHT APPOINTMENTS AND MORNING RESOLVE
When Thomas Jefferson took office in 1801, he faced a judiciary packed with Federalist loyalists thanks to John Adams’ last-minute “Midnight Judges.” Jefferson refused to deliver some of their commissions. One of the snubbed appointees, William Marbury, sued.

That case became Marbury v. Madison.

Chief Justice John Marshall used it to establish judicial review, the principle that courts could declare laws unconstitutional.

But while flexing the Court’s power, Marshall also agreed that Jefferson didn’t have to deliver Marbury’s commission.

#5  The doctrine of judicial immunity, which basically means that activist judges don't have skin in the game, is not a part of the Constitution. I can think of a bunch of reasons not to abolish that doctrine, but it would be fun to see Trump issue an executive order limiting it in some way. For example: "Any district judge who declares an executive order unconstitutional shall within 10 days appear before Congress to explain the basis for the court's decision." I'd like to see Senator Kennedy ask these folks his typical pointed questions in public. After all, democracy dies in darkness.

'Peace through Strength' - The War for American Hegemony
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from a posted article in arsenal-otechestva.ru

[ColonelCassad] Ensuring US hegemony is a constant in political strategy and practice. It is invariant in relation to White House administrations. Trump's Manifest destiny is a reconstruction of American greatness on new principles - no longer globalism, but exceptionalism.

Among the key donors of Trump's 2023/2024 election campaign are the largest manufacturers of the military-industrial complex, such as Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon General Dynamics, Boeing and other aircraft manufacturers, transport and oil and gas corporations.

The 47th US President is supported by the military-industrial, as well as the IT-venture-technological lobby. Among them are those who are interested in maintaining the US dominance in the world by force, technology and economy, those for whom war is a business, an opportunity for development and a guarantee of enrichment.

The reboot of the real sector of the economy planned by the Trumpists, the rearmament and re-equipment of the Pentagon and intelligence services based on the latest technologies, total control of the information field and the humanitarian sphere to ensure info-cognitive and mental dominance based on AI, strengthening the resource potential of the United States through the accumulation of economic and military-economic power and technological superiority over 3-5 years, which surpasses all and everything, cemented by a right-wing conservative ideology - this is the technological and semantic platform of global leadership and the New World Order (NWO) from Trump-Vance - "Peace through strength".

Trumpists propose to return America's leadership and competitive military advantage through start-ups for the development and production of weapons, financed primarily through venture schemes.

The manifesto article “Arsenal Reset,” posted back in June 2022 on the resources of one of the most influential Trumpists, Vice President J.D. Vance’s political curator Peter Thiel, says: “Modernizing our military will require not just a handful, but dozens of new innovative companies. Tens of thousands of engineers will have to ask themselves if there is more to their careers than just money. And our government officials, without whom these efforts will be in vain, will have to listen and lead…” The ambitions and

MAGA strategy are in the Americans taking over global technological leadership. To do this, the United States will need additional energy capacity and natural resources, which Canada and Greenland should provide. Then the US will be able, according to Trumpists, to become global leaders not only in weapons and the cryptocurrency mining race, but also, what is strategically more important, in the total power of the computer industry, ensuring primacy in the development of AI as a critical factor in the modern economy, military-industrial complex, intelligence and defense.

The entire team that came with Trump is highly ideologically charged. Trumpists have written and promoted strategic concepts for a financial-technological and managerial revolution in the White House and the Pentagon.

The concept of a new American dynamism has been developed, launched, and is being introduced into the consciousness of the elites and society. American dynamism in the field of defense technologies implies the foresight and active application of technological innovations. This approach emphasizes that the pursuit of technological dynamism is the pursuit of a strong, secure, and innovative America.

At the Shift's Defense Ventures Summit in Washington in November 2023, Catherine Boyle, General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital fund associated with Peter Thiel, expressed the opinion: "We are convinced that a strong America leads to a strong and secure world, a more civilized world (we should use this word more often). Technology plays a key role in maintaining this order and civilization, and this will continue. We call this direction American dynamism.

In the fall of 2024, a programmatic military-economic text was published - "Reforming the US military-industrial complex" (The Defense Reformatiom). Its author is the executive director of Palantir, Shyam Sankar.

Let us present the theses of Sankar's "manifesto" in detail, because they are important not only for understanding the enemy's strategy, but in part they are a "mirror" of our problems.

At the very beginning of the article, the author categorically and scathingly states: "The Western strategy of containment no longer works... As a nation, we are already in a state of undeclared war... In 2014, Russia annexed Crimea... China stuffed the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea with weapons, and Iran continued to develop an atomic bomb... This is a new Cold War in its hot stage...".

Let us immediately note a truth that is not at all cinematic: "in America, everything is simple, except for money" (a quote from the cult film "Brother 2"). The logic of Sankara's "escalation of the situation" is clear and, despite the obvious emotional charge, quite pragmatic. The formation of an information-political "war space" is an information-cognitive technology for ensuring the "interception of budgets" and levers of development of the military-industrial complex and the Pentagon, it is an effective mechanism for managing society through fear, it is a political "catch 22" that allows lobbyists and involved elite groups to avoid possible claims from competitors in the long term: they say, "war will write off everything."

Having outlined the "reality of war," Shyama Sankara then directly states that the United States is not ready for a serious war, stating that the country's economy, its real sector and its "core," the military-industrial complex, are in a systemic crisis: "US national security requires a powerful industrial base, otherwise it will lose the next war, and the world will plunge into the darkness of "authoritarian regimes ...".

In a carefully measured and well-placed way, “adding salt to the wounds,” the CEO of Palantir argues that the inertia of the American military-industrial complex that has developed over decades is high, while its mobilization potential is low.

Raising the tension, Shyama Sankara emphasizes that in the event of a hot phase of a possible war between the United States and rival powers — China or Russia — ammunition and weapons will last only a few days. Even more alarming, in his opinion, is the lack of capacity and capabilities for the rapid repair and restoration of our weapons systems, not to mention the production of weapons on new principles. Sankar believes that this ideological and managerial approach, deeply rooted in the American military-industrial complex, is based on the concepts of scientific management, which were once fashionable in the Soviet Union and in the vanguard of the US automobile industry in the 1950s.

Centralized, predictable, programmatic budgeting, management and control were then considered superior to the trial-and-error market system, as well as the "mess and waste" of the decentralized trial-and-error experimentation system, which did not imply 100% "sprouting of startups" in the search for new solutions and technologies. The time for such approaches and solutions, according to Sankara, has passed. Noting the crisis, Shyama Sankara then not only analyzes its causes, but also identifies ways for the US military-industrial complex to emerge from the crisis, based on, along with a technological reboot, the interception of budget flows and levers of control over the military-industrial complex and the Pentagon from the arms "traditionalists".

Let us cite Sankara's main statements, arguments and proposals, not verbatim, but in essence.

Monopoly is our main problem. In 1993, after the end of the Cold War, the Pentagon worked with more than 50 companies. Today there are five (Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman and Boeing)! The most important consequence was not the reduction of competition in the defense industry, but the separation of commercial innovation from the military-industrial complex and the growth of a state monopoly on procurement.

It is necessary to avoid a monopoly buyer at all costs, using market mechanisms and dynamics as the key operating principle of the Ministry of Defense. What sometimes looks like duplication is an insurance against complacency and unpredictability.

If the monopoly remains, production will not work as it should. The final product will remain expensive, and this will make us weaker.

The root of our pathology is the lack of competition within the Ministry of Defense.

It will take a decade or two to begin delivering new major weapons systems in sufficient quantities.

In the hot phase of war, we have only a few days' worth of ammunition and weapons. Even more alarming is the lack of capacity and capability to quickly repair and refurbish our equipment and weapons systems.

Under current conditions, American industry can no longer be content to produce a minimum range of ships, submarines, ammunition, aircraft, etc.

Cost-plus contracts make us slower and poorer. This may be the right way to buy an aircraft carrier, but it is wrong for 95% of other things.

Innovation will always be painful, unclear, and subject to "pejorative and retrograde" bureaucratic criticism from those outside the process: they value costs and effort, not value and results.

There is also no reward for speeding up the process and developing innovative approaches, and there is no incentive to compete on price, since it is time and money spent that count, not saved.

We must understand: productivity is more valuable than weapons stockpiles. We obsess over stockpiles, but stockpiles don’t matter. Our ammunition shipments to Ukraine consisted of Cold War-era kits that sat on shelves collecting dust while decades of innovation took place. The depletion of 10 years’ worth of production in 10 weeks of fighting in Ukraine has shown that the real weapon is the speed of retooling and intensification of production.

We must produce what is needed quickly and in sufficient quantities. We must develop requirements and incentives for production and never stop producing.

There will be no more prizes for participation (guns sitting on shelves). Participation only counts if you can consistently produce them.

The ability to modernize production is critical.

Government attempts to avoid problems in advance by locking in to a single supplier will fail. For any non-trivial innovation, it is impossible to “deductively” design a master architecture of a winning structure in advance. Instead, we must slog along and let that architecture emerge. You maximize your chances if you break away from the “precedent principle” of established practices early on.

The most important projects are not created by accepting terms and conditions. In a fight, no one cares about the official paper. The only requirement is to win.

And winning involves engaging in a messy, duplicative, seemingly wasteful but actually effective process of improvement.

No monopoly. Creative, faster, and ultimately cheaper results.

We must rely on talent, on people who propose bold solutions and ensure their implementation, in which knowledge and know-how are combined.

The talent to solve a problem quickly is rare. It is very difficult, but such talent is decisive.

The Pentagon Personnel Management Act (the rules for the career and promotion of officers and civilian specialists) must be reformed. We need to worry more about achieving victory, and not about how to fill the staffing table and correctly draw up service documentation.

We need more competition between the services. No joint program directorates. No monopoly. Creative, fast and ultimately cheaper results.

The main idea is how the members of the company communicate, collaborate and compete.

Synergy of dual-use technologies is the key to victory. RAND thought that Lockheed would dominate the field of integrated circuits, because it had fifty Ph.D.s, and Intel only two. But Intel executives knew that military and intelligence clients were just a stopover to business success. And they succeeded.

Audit paralysis is a paralysis of growth. Money must work and be mobile. The fiscal OODA (observe, orient, decide, act) cycle for moving money is unsustainable. Money must be able to be reprogrammed and redirected in two months, not two years.

Simple contractual mechanisms exist to guarantee the government continuity of operations and the desired flexibility, debureaucratization, objectivity, and complete freedom of action through the introduction of automated security checks for budgeting. We are not even close to that now.

Venture capital is the future—the United States needs risk capital, not taxpayer capital, to achieve technological breakthroughs. Independent research and development (IRAD) with reimbursement for costs is a kind of indulgence. It is not real R&D. Cost Plus contracts allow contractors to manipulate house money (reimbursed by taxpayers). Private R&D in the commercial market is vastly superior to public R&D.

Companies must invest their own capital in developments and solutions. They must be ready for any challenges if we want innovation. Contractors should not take money from the taxpayer if their lab experiments fail. There must be effective feedback between consumers, customers and developers-manufacturers.

Secrecy should not be a “monopolist’s defense.” Today, defense companies cannot understand the fighter, and the fighter often cannot understand what he himself needs. His needs, it is said, must be transmitted through a “priestly class” of contractors, middlemen, buyers, customers. The result is countless Kafkaesque dilemmas of cause and effect. You cannot get a security clearance unless you have a secret contract, and you cannot get a security clearance unless you belong to a special class of people who have security clearance.

The same goes for SCIF (Secret Shared Information Facility) sponsorship and access to classified networks. Only the “priestly” middlemen determine the timing and schedule of a company’s access to a top-secret network from its offices.

Monopolies and secrecy are too much, but we are long past the point where they worked in the interests of security.

The main conclusion of Sankar’s “manifesto” is this: “The United States is in a state of undeclared war. For more than three decades, we have put up with stagnation in the military-industrial complex, born of a complacent monopoly without competition from the great powers. We have prayed to the “old altar” for too long. Now change is possible, because we all understand that there is something worse than change: lagging and obsolescence. We cannot waste time resurrecting the American industrial base on which we relied during the height of the Cold War…”.

Let us note not only the systematic nature of Shyam Sankar’s proposals, but also the fact that many of his conclusions should not only be taken into account, but it is advisable to apply them here in Russia, primarily in the military-industrial complex and defense, due to their relevance not only for the United States.

The “Peace through Strength” concept implies a focus on preparing for war, forming an information-cognitive agenda for war. This does not mean that the Americans themselves will fight - this is unlikely, but preparing the world for war - that is for sure. For a war for hegemony through reorganizing the world in the American way.

This way will be played according to the notes written by artificial intelligence. To prepare for war, the corresponding financial and scientific-technological reserve has been created. The military-industrial complex, primarily of the USA and partly of NATO countries, will be rebooted, re-equipped and restarted based on the latest modern technologies - and above all, robotics and AI. The potential for the massive use of autonomous weapons systems is especially dangerous. Tens of thousands of drones, invulnerable to modern electronic warfare and air defense systems, combined with hypersonic missiles create an unprecedented threat to the strategic facilities of any enemy.

The battlefield of the coming war, as seen by the MAGA-imperialists of Trump-Vance, will be filled with mental confrontation, artificial intelligence, unmanned systems and cyber warriors who will fight with all available and most modern hybrid methods, collecting and exchanging intelligence, making decisions with breathtaking speed and efficiency, totally covering the entire world with their control, like a battlefield.

It must be understood that Trump's "Peace through Strength" is, in fact, a forceful reorganization of the world, it is a form of violence against the world "packed" in a political strategy, it is a hybrid war for US hegemony declared for a decade.

In this, and not in the "peacekeeping chatter" is the real American policy. The confrontation with China and Russia was, is and will be the focus of US military policy. To win in an existential clash with the West, Russia needs to concentrate and mobilize all resources - military, economic, spiritual. It is important to realize and take action on the fact that the victorious solution for Russia will come from within, not from without.
Let's become sovereign and strong!

Russia's Summer Campaign Against Ukraine: Forecasts
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] Russia's summer offensive will return to the 2024 scenario, focusing on Donbass but affecting at least three more regions.

The Russian army is preparing for a large-scale summer offensive, foreign publications and experts warn. The attack, according to their forecasts, could begin as early as June.

The first attempts at ground operations will likely be preceded by a campaign of missile attacks. Read more about the forecasts in the story.

WHAT AREAS ARE AT RISK?
German expert Niko Lange told Bild that Russia could launch a new large-scale offensive in Ukraine as early as June. According to him, three regions would be under threat – Kharkiv, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk.

The expert notes that the Kremlin has long been planning this offensive, "which is now beginning," despite talk of peace talks. According to the expert, the Russian dictator "never had the goal of concluding a truce."

Today, May 30, Stanislav Bunyatov, known by the call sign "Osman", junior sergeant, squad leader of the 24th assault battalion Aidar, in his Telegram channel Govorut sniper+ partially confirms Lange's forecast.

As the military man writes, along the entire border line of the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Russians daily saturate their units with reserves and conduct continuous assault work. In most cases, they try to make "punctures" in the defense line, after which they expand them. From the southern flank, they are actively trying to enter Komar and Alekseyevka, Osman notes.

"The front is moving from village to village, since there are no defensive lines in the forest belts here," he adds.

It should be noted that political scientist Vadim Denisenko also believes that during the summer offensive Putin plans to reach the right bank of the Dnieper.

HOW EVENTS MAY DEVELOP
The Financial Times warns that the first stage of Russia's stepped-up ground operations will be accompanied by large-scale air strikes on Ukrainian territory. A key indicator of readiness: Russia is now producing more missiles than it uses, building up the capacity for powerful strikes.

Defense expert and head of the New Geopolitics Research Network platform Mykhailo Samus says the current summer offensive will be a repeat of the 2024 campaign, but with some changes in conditions and effectiveness, in particular due to Ukraine's growing defense capability and support from the West.

"Russia's summer offensive is an absolute copy of 2024. The only difference is that after the Ukrainian invasion near Kursk, it became much more difficult for Russian troops to operate in the Kharkiv, Sumy and Chernihiv regions," the expert noted in an interview with Ukrinform .

According to the expert, as in the past year, the Kremlin is attacking the northern regions of Ukraine to distract and exhaust the defense forces. At the same time, the aggressor's main goal remains unchanged - the complete occupation of Donbass. Therefore, the enemy's main efforts will be concentrated near Konstantinovka, Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, Slavyansk and Liman.

In his opinion, the enemy's advance in the Sumy region or in the direction of Kharkov is ineffective and too costly. The maximum that the enemy managed to achieve was an insignificant advance of several kilometers without any strategic or political effect.

PESSIMISTIC AND OPTIMISTIC SCENARIOS
The New York Times writes that the Kremlin's summer offensive is already underway. The publication, citing military analysts, notes that the Russian army began its breakthrough attempt in May.

The Russians used the winter lull to build up equipment reserves, improve combat communications, and refine the tactics and technical capabilities of attack drones.

Some Western analysts say Putin may be using the summer season to maximise his negotiating power before adding more weight to talks later this year.

"Russia has become accustomed to the idea of fighting and talking at the same time," said Samuel Charap, a senior Washington-based political scientist who specializes in Russia at the RAND Corporation.

Despite some local successes on the front, the pace of Russia's advance remains slow, and few analysts expect it to achieve a decisive victory this summer that would change the course of the war, the newspaper adds.

At the same time, the US think tank Atlantic Council believes that unless the West takes swift action by sending military aid, increasing sanctions and reaffirming its long-term commitment to Ukraine, the Russian offensive will undermine Ukraine's military efforts.

"Current Russian troop movements and battlefield dynamics suggest that the upcoming summer offensive could be one of the largest and most ambitious of the entire war," the center's experts note.

If successful, the campaign is predicted to allow Russian forces to push the front line dozens of kilometers into Ukrainian-held territory and seize parts of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The cities of Kostyantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Kramatorsk are on the list of likely targets.

Feds Bust Six in Tremendous Food Stamp Fraud
[US Attorney's Office - Southern District of NY] Perry Carbone, Attorney for the United States, Acting under Authority Conferred by 28 U.S.C. § 515; Charmeka Parker, the Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General ("USDA-OIG"); and Christopher G. Raia, the Assistant Director in Charge of the New York Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation ("FBI"), announced the unsealing of a Superseding Indictment charging six individuals in connection with a sprawling fraud and bribery scheme that generated over $66 million in unauthorized transactions
…that’s an awful lot of money — where did it go? To buy fancy houses, cars, and vacations, or to finance jihad somewhere exotic?
under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program ("SNAP")—colloquially known as food stamps.

This is one of the largest food stamp frauds in U.S. history. The defendants—MICHAEL KEHOE, MOHAMAD NAWAFLEH, OMAR ALRAWASHDEH, GAMAL OBAID, EMAD ALRAWASHDEH, and ARLASA DAVIS—are charged with conspiracy to steal government funds and to misappropriate U.S. Department of Agriculture ("USDA") benefits, among other charges.

DAVIS, a USDA employee, is additionally charged with bribery and honest services fraud. The case is assigned to U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff.

Starting in 2019,
…interesting that they started during Trump 45, then were unnoticed until just now — were they caught when DOGE walked through the files, looking to see what could be found there?
KEHOE orchestrated a network that supplied approximately 160 unauthorized EBT terminals to stores across the New York area to illegally process more than $30 million in EBT transactions. Working with his codefendants NAWAFLEH, OMAR ALRAWASHDEH, OBAID, and EMAD ALRAWASHDEH, KEHOE submitted approximately 200 fraudulent USDA applications, misappropriating USDA license numbers and, in some cases, doctoring application documents, to obtain EBT terminals for unauthorized stores—including smoke shops and other ineligible businesses.

Critical to the scheme was ARLASA DAVIS, a longtime USDA employee who worked within the very division of the USDA responsible for identifying SNAP fraud. DAVIS abused her privileged access to federal systems to sell hundreds of EBT license numbers enabling over $36 million in fraudulent SNAP redemptions at unauthorized stores. DAVIS photographed handwritten lists of license numbers intended for qualifying stores with her personal cellphone and funneled them to an intermediary who sold them to co-conspirators, including NAWAFLEH, OMAR ALRAWASHDEH, EMAD ALRAWASHDEH, and OBAID, who then used those license numbers to fraudulently obtain EBT terminals for stores that were not authorized by the USDA to process SNAP transactions. In return, DAVIS received substantial bribes that were disguised in communications as, among other things, “birthday gifts” and “flowers.”
The Tennessee Star has the Daily Caller’s report, which adds:
Nawafleh, who fled the country while on bail, is also charged with failure to appear. He is allegedly in Jordan, according to the DOJ’s complaint.
Jordan, you say? How very interesting.

#3  There is a good reason why the US government did away with larger denomination currency. It makes large scale transfers of cash impossible to conceal and relegates the transactions to a limited number of banking institutions capable of dealing with the mass, and easier to monitor for criminal behavior.

Return to paper food stamps, not EBT cards, and welfare fraud schemes are much harder to do at scale. The idea that "shame" was a disincentive to public assistance and EBT/SNAP cards were less mean-spirited was just libtard soft-headedness. Shame should be a motivational tool to help people regain pride and dignity through work and self-sufficiency!

Report: Hezbollah changed entire military and security structure after major blow
[NAHARNET] Hezbollah changed ''its entire military and security structure, from the Shoura Council to the lowest-ranking member,'' after it was dealt a ''major blow'' during the latest war with Israel, a source close to Hezbollah said.

The group ''lost most of its military capabilities'' due to the blow to its security apparatus, the source told al-Arabiya's al-Hadath channel.
“They’re all dead, Jim.”
''Hezbollah's leadership became convinced that the old structure was totally exposed to Israel and that Israel fully knew how the structure was functioning,'' the source added.
True.
''Hezbollah minimized the sizes of its units to avoid being infiltrated,'' the source said.
They can try, I suppose.

Israeli attacks kill two in south Lebanon in latest flare-up
[NAHARNET] Leb
...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects....
's health ministry said two people were killed in separate Israeli attacks on south Lebanon on Thursday, in the latest flare-up despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

The state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported Israeli strikes and shelling on multiple areas in the south.

The ministry said an "Israeli enemy strike" hit a forested area in Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa, killing one man, while Israeli gunfire on the border town of Kfarkila killed another.

The Israeli army said it struck "a Hezbollah terrorist" in southern Lebanon, alleging he was working to restore a site used to manage the group's "fire and defense array".

The military later said it hit "several military sites throughout Lebanon" belonging to Hezbollah, accusing the group of trying to reestablish its weaponry there.

It did not immediately comment on the shooting in Kfarkila.

NNA said the man in Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa was a "municipal employee" who had been fixing wells when his cycle of violence was struck.

Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s also targeted Thursday valleys and mountains in the southern regions of Hasbaya, Jezzine, and Iqlim al-Tuffah and the outskirts of al-Bissariyeh in the Sidon district.

Israel has continued to bomb Lebanon despite the November truce that sought to halt more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah, including two months of open war.

Under the deal, only U.N. peacekeepers and the Lebanese army are meant to operate in the south, though Israel has maintained a presence in five areas it deems strategic.

Lebanon has urged the international community to pressure Israel to halt its attacks and withdraw its forces.

One said killed in Israeli strike in south Lebanon; no comment from IDF
[IsraelTimes] One person is said to have been killed in an Israeli strike on a vehicle in south Lebanon Friday night.

Lebanese reports cited by Hebrew-language media say the individual was killed in the strike in Deir ez-Zahrani.

There is no comment from the Israel Defense Forces.

During the ongoing ceasefire in Lebanon, the IDF has continued to strike Hezbollah operatives and sites it says violate the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

More than 150 Hezbollah operatives have been killed since the start of the ceasefire in November 2024.
Update from the Times of Israel at 10:40 a.m. ET:
A local Hezbollah commander in charge of a rocket unit was killed in a drone strike in southern Lebanon overnight, the Israel Defense Forces said Saturday.

According to the military, the strike near Deir ez-Zahrani killed Muhammad Ali Jamoul, the commander of Hezbollah’s rocket unit in the Beaufort Castle area.

The IDF said Jamoul had advanced numerous rocket attacks on Israel during the war and was recently involved in attempting to restore Hezbollah infrastructure in the area.

His actions “constituted a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the military added.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) said a man was killed when an Israeli drone targeted his car as he was heading to pray at a mosque in Deir ez-Zahrani, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the Israeli border.

Syrian Internal Security seizes large cache of weapons in northeast Homs during ongoing operation to stabilize the region
[X]

Syrian Internal Security Forces announced Thursday the seizure of a large cache of weapons and ammunition during a security sweep in the al-Mukharram area, northeast of Homs city. Authorities say the confiscated arms were intended for operations aimed at destabilizing the region.

According to a statement released by Syria’s Ministry of Interior, the weapons haul included both light and medium-grade arms, as well as a significant quantity of ammunition. The operation was carried out on Wednesday and is part of what the ministry describes as "ongoing efforts to restrict arms possession to state authorities."

Photos released from the scene show boxes of munitions, rifles, and explosives that officials claim were prepared for imminent use in attacks.

This latest raid follows a similar operation conducted earlier in the week, during which Internal Security units uncovered improvised bombs (IEDs), bomb-making materials, and other weapons in the city of Homs. No group has grabbed credit for the intended attacks, and authorities have not specified the identity of the individuals or networks linked to the seized weapons.

Officials emphasize that these operations are part of a broader national campaign to dismantle weapons networks and prevent the proliferation of arms outside formal military structures. The Interior Ministry reiterated its commitment to "ensuring the safety and security of citizens by neutralizing threats before they materialize."

The region has faced sporadic security challenges in recent years, particularly in areas formerly contested during Syria’s protracted conflict. While many regions, particularly those administered by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), enjoy a higher degree of local stability, parts of central and western Syria have continued to witness occasional incidents linked to criminal groups or dormant turban cells.

Security operations like the one in al-Mukharram underscore the lingering threat posed by unsecured weapons stockpiles and underline the necessity of continued vigilance by local and national forces.

The seizure comes at a time when the Syrian transitional government is attempting to project authority and re-establish centralized control across its territory following the departure of former president Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Despoiler of Deraa...
in late 2024.

No casualties were reported during the latest operation, and investigations are reportedly underway to trace the origin of the weapons and identify any individuals involved in their transport or planned use.

"I support the UNIFIL peacekeepers whether they are wrong or right. Locals, even if they are supporters of Amal or Hezbollah, should try not to overreact," Berri told local al-Joumhouria newspaper in remarks published Friday. "We know that Israel is against the UNIFIL's presence in south Lebanon and has targeted them many times. This alone is enough for us to support their presence," he said, adding that "their presence has also made a positive impact on the economy in southern villages."

Clashes have increased in recent weeks, with residents insisting that any UNIFIL patrol should be accompanied by Lebanese Army troops.

The U.N. mission was created to oversee the withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon after Israel's 1978 invasion and today UNIFIL operates in southern Lebanon at the request of the Lebanese government and under a mandate from the U.N. Security Council, but Hezbollah supporters in Lebanon frequently accuse the U.N. mission of collusion with Israel. Israel meanwhile accuses the peacekeepers of turning a blind eye to alleged Hezbollah military activities in southern Lebanon.

and Turkiye were planning to meet with leaders from the Paleostinian Authority in Ramallah on Sunday.

The goal was to promote the establishment of a Paleostinian state, especially with Saudi Arabia and La Belle France planning a UN conference next month to help advance a two-state solution.

But the Walla news website and The Times of Israel are now quoting unnamed Israeli sources as saying the visit will be blocked amid Israel's efforts to combat the internationally-backed two-state solution.

Senior Israeli official says Jerusalem won’t cooperate with moves that harm its security, claiming PA’s Abbas was slated to use visit to advance Palestinian statehood

Israel has decided to block a delegation of Middle Eastern foreign ministers led by Saudi Arabia’s top diplomat from making a landmark visit to the West Bank, a senior Israeli official told The Times of Israel on Friday.

The foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

, Egypt and Jordan were slated to meet with Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....>
in Ramallah on Sunday.

The senior Israeli official said that the PA was planning to use the delegation’s visit to "promote the establishment of a Paleostinian state."

"Israel will not cooperate with moves designed to harm it and its security," the Israeli official asserted, claiming that a Paleostinian state would become "a terrorist state in the heart of the Land of Israel."

The Arab ministers were not planning to visit Israel, but because Israel controls the borders of the West Bank, its approval is required for them to enter the territory.

The visit by Prince Faisal bin Farhan was supposed to be the first by a Saudi foreign minister since Israel took over the West Bank in 1967.

The Israeli entry ban is likely the further strain Israel’s relations with its Arab neighbors, which have already deteriorated significantly since the outbreak of the Gazoo

war.

The move will also likely raise further questions over the legitimacy of Israel’s control of the West Bank.

In attempting to justify the decision, the senior Israeli official noted that the PA has yet to condemn Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
’s October 7 onslaught and accused Ramallah of violating agreements with Israel.

The PA has indeed yet to explicitly condemn the October 7 attack, instead issuing more vague condemnations of violence against all civilians, as Israel’s war in Gaza intensified. More recently, though, Abbas has issued repeated condemnations of Hamas, calling on the terror group to release the remaining hostages, disarm and give up control of the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Big Shirley was still trying to snatch Nunzio bald-headed. She was already halfway there...
Israel continues to withhold hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenues that it is supposed to transfer to Ramallah each month in violation of the Oslo Accords. Jerusalem says it withholds some of the funds to offset payments the PA makes to the families of Paleostinian security prisoners and slain attackers. Abbas signed a decree in February ending the conditioning of such payments on the length of one’s prison sentence.

Paleostinian ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mazen Ghoneim told Saudi state-backed Al Arabiya that the rare joint ministerial visit comes as the war in Gaza nears its 20th month, and Ghoneim said it marks "a clear message [that] the Paleostinian cause is a central issue to Arabs and Moslems."

Next month, Saudi Arabia and La Belle France will co-chair an international conference meant to resurrect the two-state solution at the United Nations

headquarters in New York. La Belle France is considering recognizing a Paleostinian state during the confab. Israel is already taking steps, it says are aimed at combating the effort, including establishing new settlements throughout the West Bank to further harm efforts to advance a two-state solution.

Sunday’s visit was supposed to mark a further boost to the legitimacy of the Paleostinian Authority, which has faced pressure from Arab and Western allies to reform, as they push for the body to replace Hamas as the governing authority in the Gaza Strip after the war. Israel has blocked such a transition, but is facing mounting pushback from Arab allies, who have expressed willingness to assist in the post-war management of Gaza if Jerusalem allows Ramallah to gain a foothold there.

Khartoum begins relocating refugees, foreigners, citing security concerns - Sudan Tribune

South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
's Khartoum state on Thursday began relocating refugees and other foreigners to three states near Sudan's borders, part of efforts to remove all foreign nationals from the capital, officials said.

The move follows earlier steps to register refugees for relocation after Khartoum authorities said they confirmed some foreigners, mainly from South Sudan and Æthiopia, had fought alongside the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during the RSF's earlier control of the state.

Khartoum Governor Ahmed Osman Hamza told news hounds his government had ''begun implementing the first phase'' of relocating foreigners and refugees from the capital to camps in White Nile, Gedaref, and Kassala states.

The first convoy included a number of Æthiopian refugees residing in Khartoum without formal status, Hamza said.

Before the current conflict erupted in Sudan, the government did not strictly enforce regulations on the residence or employment of foreigners and refugees in residential areas.

The relocation will include all foreign nationals without exception, Hamza said, adding they would be received in camps equipped with basic services and prepared in coordination with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and international organizations.

Security forces will continue efforts to apprehend foreign nationals within Khartoum state, the governor added.

Al-Sadiq Suleiman, Assistant Commissioner for Refugees at the Interior Ministry, said the relocation process was coordinated with Khartoum state authorities and that humanitarian aspects for families and children, such as food, healthcare, and shelter, were being provided in the camps

Misseriya tribe divided over Sudan army''s West Kordofan advance - Sudan Tribune
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Disputes have erupted among leaders of the Misseriya tribe over how to respond to the Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. ese army's advance into West Kordofan state, with differing views on confronting government forces or maintaining ties with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The paramount chief, or Nazir, and other community leaders reportedly favour avoiding confrontation with government forces, while others insist on maintaining their alliance with the RSF.

The Misseriya are the largest tribe in West Kordofan and also have a presence in parts of South Kordofan state. The previous government relied on them to fight alongside its forces against the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) during the civil war in South Sudan before the latter's secession.

Local sources told Sudan Tribune that ''the Misseriya tribe is witnessing a division over how to deal with the army's advance into West Kordofan areas, as the tribe's Nazir and six Omdas (local chiefs) have called for not confronting the state (government forces).''

The sources indicated another faction within the tribe supports the RSF and demands the army's swift expulsion from Babanusa city and the Heglig oilfield.

According to the sources, the Nazir's group believes it is necessary to preserve young men's lives, avoid damaging service facilities and oilfields, and prevent civilian displacement, thus advocating against resisting the army's advance.

The RSF controls most areas where the Misseriya traditionally hold influence, including al-Fulah, al-Mujlad, al-Meiram, and Lagawa, while the army controls Babanusa and some oilfields.

In 2024, Nazir Mukhtar Babo Nimr and 22 Misseriya leaders wrote to RSF commander Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, stating they would not allow war in their areas and demanding the army's removal from tribal lands, according to a copy of the letter seen by Sudan Tribune.

The letter, signed by the Nazir, said West Kordofan borders South Sudan, particularly near al-Meiram, Abyei, Heglig, Keilak, and Lagawa. It warned that the fall of the 22nd Infantry Division's command would leave the state without an army presence, which ''would facilitate border penetration by those with ambitions.''

The division extends to an RSF mobilization campaign in West Kordofan. The RSF has reportedly launched widespread arrests in al-Mujlad, al-Fulah, and Balila, targeting local leaders, retired military personnel, and students accused of spying for the army and rejecting general mobilization calls.

Sources told Sudan Tribune that the RSF transferred dozens of detainees from West Kordofan to Nyala, capital of South Darfur state, which has been converted into a military command centre for the RSF.

Ahmed Ezzeldin Nouri, deputy head of the Misseriya Tribes Coordination Committee, told Sudan Tribune that the mobilization campaign by the RSF in West Kordofan state has failed mainly due to the refusal of young men and local leaders to join recruitment camps.

He said the RSF has imposed a levy of 100,000 Sudanese pounds on residents in its West Kordofan operational areas who refuse to mobilize.

Nouri reported the arrests of al-Hadi Hamdiya Absher, Hamed al-Samani, Suleiman Jumaa, and Sheikh Ahmed Abdulraheem, all prominent Misseriya community leaders in West Kordofan.

''The arrest campaign is evidence of the failure of the al-Dagalo family's militia project in mobilization and in maintaining its social support base in West Kordofan,'' Nouri added. He accused the RSF of widespread violations against civilians in al-Mujlad, al-Fulah, and other Misseriya territories.

Nouri also said many Misseriya tribal leaders have fled to neighbouring countries after RSF pressure to mobilize young men.

He said they hoped a mobile force known as ''Al-Sayyad'' (The Hunter) would protect civilians in West Kordofan and impose state authority. Nouri stressed: ''The Misseriya are an authentic Sudanese tribe, and the al-Daglo family's militia does not represent the tribe; it is a rebellious and outlaw force.''

#1  The Misseriya are a miserable cattle nomad tribe who enjoyed attacking the Dinka of southwestern (now South) Sudan at every opportunity. It can only be hoped that the dispute that has 'erupted' in its ranks will endure permanently.

Israel claims Hamas losing control over Gaza civilians as GHF ramps up aid operations
[IsraelTimes] But assertion has been made by Israel since beginning of war, and while new aid group says it has fed over 2 million meals this week, that has only amounted to 40 trucks-worth of aid

A senior Israeli defense official briefing news hounds on Friday asserted that Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
is losing control of Paleostinian civilians in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.
Strip, as the new Israeli-backed aid initiative ramps up its operations aimed at preventing the terror group from diverting aid.

The assertion that Hamas’s grip in the Strip is slipping has been made repeatedly by Israeli officials since the beginning of the war.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation announced Friday that it had distributed over two million meals at three distribution sites in southern and central Gaza over the past five days. But its classification of meals is based on boxes of dry food products that still require cooking equipment or community kitchens, which are very limited throughout the Strip after nearly 20 months of devastating conflict.

The two million meals came from 23,040 boxes of food GHF said it had distributed this week. But this amounts to around just 40 trucks worth of aid when international organizations have asserted that aid from at least 300 trucks needs to be distributed each day in order to fend off famine in Gaza after Israel blocked aid from entering the Strip for 78 days.

Still, the Israeli defense official was bullish about the tide turning against Hamas while briefing news hounds Friday on condition of anonymity.

"The barrier of fear from Hamas has been broken. Hamas repeatedly tried to break the population and resist the distribution plan to preserve its ability to control food and, consequently, the residents of the Gaza Strip," the defense official said.

"The residents of the Strip voted with their feet against Hamas and flocked en masse to the distribution centers, thereby breaking an initial barrier of public fear from Hamas, which undermines its governing component needed to preserve its ruling capabilities," the official said.

According to the official, the new aid distribution system is intended first to cut Hamas off from the aid — as it is no longer involved in the distribution process — and secondly to cut the population off from Hamas, potentially collapsing the terror group’s civil rule in the Strip, which is one of Israel’s war goals.

The official slammed "many elements within Hamas and UN organizations that defame and hope for the failure of the aid distribution plan via the distribution centers."

"Elements in Gaza and within Hamas are trying to create chaos and disorder to sabotage our efforts and drive a psychological campaign and generate a false narrative," the official added.

Of the 238 trucks of aid that set out from Kerem Shalom to be distributed in Gaza in recent days, 135 were looted, according to military estimates. The looting was largely carried out by civilians, and in some cases, armed gangs who had no affiliation with Hamas, the military official said, underlining the terror group’s weakened control.

According to the official, to enable the UN to collect and distribute the aid entering Gaza, the Defense Ministry’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) held meetings with UN officials, and several adjustments were made to the transportation routes — some of which had gone through combat zones — and other logistical solutions were provided.

Still, COGAT has accused the UN of failing to collect over 550 truckloads of aid waiting on the Gaza side of Kerem Shalom Crossing.

UN officials and aid groups say they have faced significant challenges distributing the aid because of insecurity, the risk of looting and Israel’s failure to provide safe routes for them to pick up the aid at the border and then ferry it to warehouses ahead of distribution.

14 SAID KILLED AMID DOZENS OF IDF AIRSTRIKES
Meanwhile,

on Friday, hospital officials and paramedics said Friday that Israeli Arclight airstrike

s in Gaza killed at least 14 more people and maimed others.

Officials at Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza said the bodies of 12 people, including three women, were brought in Friday from the nearby Jabaliya refugee camp.

The Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy Society said the bodies of two people, as well as nine others who were maimed, were taken to al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City. It said one of the maimed is a doctor who works at the same hospital.

The IDF said it struck dozens of targets in the Gaza Strip, which included terror operatives, buildings used by terror groups, observation and sniper posts, tunnels and other terror infrastructure.

Hamas separately published an unusual video purporting to show its operatives detonating an bomb against what it says are "undercover" Israeli soldiers in southern Gaza’s Rafah.

The Friday video shows a group of gunnies in civilian clothing being hit by a bomb.

Some reports from Gaza indicated that the gang is affiliated with Yasser Abu Shabaab, a leader of a large clan in the Rafah area.

Abu Shabaab claims his forces have been protecting aid convoys, while Hamas has accused him of looting the aid trucks and maintaining connections with Israel.

Israeli officials declined to comment on Abu Shabaab’s or other militias’ activities in Gaza.

Also on Friday, Haaretz reported that the primary activity of Israeli forces in Gaza has become the systemic destruction of infrastructure. The IDF says it is being done in order to protect soldiers, adding that Hamas is using much of the infrastructure for military purposes, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has talked about destroying homes in Gaza so that civilians have nowhere to return, making it easier to advance US President Donald Trump

UN slams ‘armed individuals’ who stole medical supplies from field hospital warehouse in Deir el-Balah
[IsraelTimes] The United Nations says a group of “armed individuals” raided a warehouse in central Gaza and looted large amounts of medical supplies.

“Today, a group of armed individuals stormed the warehouses at a field hospital in Deir el-Balah, looting large quantities of medical equipment, supplies, medicines, and nutritional supplements that was intended for malnourished children,” says Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Dujarric also says that “yesterday, we and our humanitarian partners only managed to collect five truckloads of cargo from the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing.”

“The other 60 trucks had to return to the crossing due to intense hostilities in the area,” Dujarric adds.

An Israeli official says his country has offered the UN logistical and operational support, but “the UN is not doing their job.”

The official, who speaks on condition of anonymity because he’s not authorized to talk to the media, says other organizations have succeeded in collecting aid from the Gaza side of the Kerem Shalom crossing. The official declines to provide details on how many truckloads were collected or which organizations were able to collect them.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Another ''violence interrupter'' scam revealed. Felony charges filed against Bishop Harding Smith for swindle and wage theft.
[X]

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office (HCAO) has charged the operator of a local non-profit with felonies related to wage theft in connection to his violence prevention contract with the county.

Bishop Harding Smith, who is the president and founder of non-profit Minnesota Acts Now (MAN), was charged by summons Thursday and is scheduled to appear in court on charges of theft by swindle and wage theft on June 16, 2025.

The criminal complaint details that Smith, 56, failed to pay his employees the required wage under the terms of his contract with Hennepin County. Smith stated in a proposal to the county that his workers would be paid $35 per hour, and later submitted a proposal stating that he and his workers should be paid $40 per hour by the county.

A blurb from the county attorney’s office stated that the contract between Hennepin County and Minnesota Acts Now was effective August — December 2021 to provide violence intervention services. HCAO also alleges Smith made false claims to Hennepin County that he was paying employees the wage required by the contract.

Based on a review of payroll records and timesheets, Sherlocks calculated that Minnesota Acts Now reported total payroll expenses of $495,547.90 to Hennepin County but actually incurred total payroll expenses of only $346,209.31; a difference of nearly $150,000.

Documents showed that Harding was not paying his workers the initially proposed $35 per hour, except for his spouse, and that $100,000 was used by MAN to purchase a building in Brooklyn Park.

"Bishop Harding Smith failed to pay his employees what he agreed to as part of the contract with Hennepin County and then lied about it when seeking payroll expense reimbursements," Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. "As I said when our office secured the state’s first wage theft conviction, this behavior will not be tolerated."

Smith, who lives in Edina, has been the subject of controversy in the past when he stood by the father of 10-year-old Barway Collins who had gone missing under suspicious circumstances in Crystal, Minn., in 2015. Barway’s father, Pierre Collins, later confessed to killing Barway and stashing his duct taped body in the Mississippi river.
