Al-Shabaab bomb maker slapped with life sentence in Somalia
[Garowe] The military court in Somalia slapped an al-Shabaab
... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
bomb maker with a life sentence following his conviction against manufacturing Vehicle-Borne bombs, which the holy warriors use to inflict deaths across the country.

The sentencing marks a broader strategy to eliminate the murderous Moslems, who are linked to atrocities targeting innocent civilians, security forces, and senior government officials. The al-Shabaab controls large swathes of central and southern regions.

Abdinasir Mohammed Hassan was found guilty of assembling boom-mobiles for the al-Shabaab murderous Moslems, mainly by tampering with vehicle identification to avoid detection from sleuths. He travelled widely across Somalia to make deliveries..

Prosecutors said he had carried out these activities since 2018 while earning a monthly salary of $240 from al-Shabaab. He was also given a NOHA vehicle and operated a garage that served as a logistical front for the group’s operations.

Throughout his reign with al-Shabaab, he closely worked with a commander identified as Khalid, court records indicate. Military courts are used for the trial of hardcore criminals, particularly the al-Shabaab holy warriors who control most parts of the country.

Also sentenced was Maadey Abdi Hussein, who will now spend two years in jail. He is accused of travelling to Kunya Barrow, where he repaired three vehicles before returning to Elasha Biyaha and was paid a total of $450.

His uncle, Isse Maadey Abdi Hussein, was sentenced to one year for aiding the group. However,
you can observe a lot just by watching...
Abdiqadir Ali Farah Tabliiq, who was accused of attempting to sell a vehicle to al-Shabaab, was acquitted after the prosecution failed to provide evidence linking him to the network.

Somalia: ISIS Militants Suffer Further Losses in Puntland
[Garowe] The Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
Counter-Terrorism Forces inflicted more losses on the ISIS bully boyz in the northern state of Somalia, following major operations on Tuesday within Miraale and Baalade areas within the restless Bari region, where the group has been initiating assaults.

At least 35 bully boyz were killed following the coordinated operations, officials said, adding that the bully boyz had initially lost 10 fighters around Miraale after a confrontation with the Puntland regional forces, who have been on the frontlines for some months.

Team leaders paraded bodies of bully boyz badly mutilated after declaring victory against the group, with several foreign nationals identified. The bully boyz were planning to flee the mountain, but the troops managed to counter them effectively.

The troops also destroyed a cache of weapons and military equipment used by the group. It is now believed that the bully boyz have retreated to the Balade valley near Bosaso, where they are regrouping following Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s by the US and United Arab Emirates forces.

This latest assault follows last week's significant military gain when Puntland forces captured the ISIS command center in Miraale Valley. The fall of the command marks a major milestone in the fight against the group, which is limited to the eastern parts of Puntland.

Ground Forces are working closely with the US Africa Command, which initiated the first airstrikes against ISIS bully boyz from early this year, with President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
making a first-ever announcement about the deaths of ISIS fighters in Somalia.

While the US insists on supporting counter-terrorism efforts in Somalia, it has, however, insisted that other partners must contribute equally towards the objectives of defeating the group. In Southern regions, al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
bully boyz are also unleashing terror against innocent civilians.

IDF names two other soldiers killed in booby-trapped Gaza building on Friday
[IsraelTimes] The military on Saturday named two more soldiers killed in Friday’s building explosion in the southern Gaza Strip, during which four in total were killed and five were injured.

The slain soldiers were Sgt. First Class Tom Rotstein, 23, from Ramat Gan, and Staff Sgt. Uri Yhonatan Cohen, 20, from Neve Yarak. Both served in the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit.

On Friday, the army announced the names of Sgt. Maj. (res.) Chen Gross and Staff Sgt. Yoav Raver, both were killed in the incident.

According to the IDF, the soldiers entered the building in Khan Younis to clear it of possible terror infrastructure, including tunnels.

The building was booby-trapped, and the explosion caused the structure to collapse on the soldiers, killing four and wounding five others, including one seriously.

The incident took place shortly after 6 a.m. in the Khan Younis suburb of Bani Suheila.

Hamas took responsibility for the attack.

Understanding the Big Beautiful Bill and the Laws That Surround
I found this useful in clarifying my thinking on a fraught subject.
[PJMedia] The Big Beautiful Bill continues to be confusing, and, frankly, I think it’s become confusing because a whole lot of people think it being confusing is to their advantage. So let’s try to drill down into the details and try to sort out the facts.

Now, Stephen Miller has tweeted an explanation a couple of times, apparently to little avail, but let’s look at it again, and work out the details.

…rules to “mandatory” spending only — eg Medicaid and Food Stamps. The senate rules prevent it from cutting “discretionary” spending — eg the Department of Education or federal grants. The DOGE cuts are overwhelmingly discretionary, not mandatory. The bill saves more than 1.6 TRILLION in mandatory spending, including the largest-ever welfare reform. A remarkable achievement.

I’ve also seen claims the bill increases the deficit. This lie is based on a CBO accounting gimmick. Income tax rates from the 2017 tax cut are set to expire in September. They were always planned to be permanent. CBO says maintaining *current* rates adds to the deficit, but by definition leaving these income tax rates unchanged cannot add one penny to the deficit. The bill’s spending cuts REDUCE the deficit against the current law baseline, which is the only correct baseline to use.

Another fantastically false claim is that the bill spends trillions of dollars. This is just completely invented out of whole cloth. This is not a ten year budget bill—it doesn’t “fund” almost any operations of government, which are funded in the annual budget bills (which this is not). In other words, if this bill passed, but the annual budget bill did not, there would be no government funding. Under the math that critics are using, if we passed a one paragraph reconciliation bill that cut simply 50 billion in food stamp spending, they would say the bill “added” trillions in spending and debt because they are counting ALL the projected federal spending that exists entirely outside the scope of this legislation, which is of course preposterous. The only funding in the bill is for the President’s border and defense priorities, while enacting a net spending cut of over 1.6 TRILLION dollars.

The bill has two fiscal components: a massive tax cut and a massive spending cut.

There are some facts of life that he tries to explain but doesn’t go into detail about, because, well, it’s just a tweet.

So here are the facts of life:

  • The Big Beautiful Bill is a reconciliation bill

  • Reconciliation bills have the advantage that they can’t be filibustered — a simple majority does the job

  • ...but that doesn’t mean filibusters aren’t an issue in the whole process

  • One of the biggest restrictions on reconciliation is that the reconciliation bill cannot, by law, affect anything except mandatory spending, and what constitutes mandatory spending is also established by law.

  • Reconciliation bills are not spending bills. They establish a budget, or propose a budget, but the actual spending must be established in a bill that starts in the House. A separate bill.

  • Reconciliation bills are scored by the Congressional Budget Office, which imposes other restrictions

  • Both the limits on a reconciliation bill and on CBO’s scoring are established by law, so if you want to change them, you run into that filibuster monster again.

So, a lot of the people screaming about the BBB not codifying the DOGE cuts are either ignorant or gaslighting you. The BBB doesn’t codify the DOGE cuts because by law it can’t. Keep that in mind as we go through the details.

I think the first thing is probably to look at the CBO scoring, because a lot of the more blatant gaslighting on all sides comes from people conveniently not understanding what the CBO is required by law to do. You can expect that phrase to show up a lot, and, by God, it’s going to be in boldface every time, because it seems to be the hardest thing to understand — or the easiest thing to ignore.

So, let’s dive in. I’m going to be quoting my research assistant Grok fairly heavily, because this is buried in probably a hundred different laws, rules, and accounting terms of art that don’t mean quite what you think they mean.

CBO SCORING:
The Congressional Budget Office — which is going to be “the CBO” from here on out — was established by law. (That link is to Grok’s summary, and feel free to argue that there’s something wrong with the summary. But be prepared to provide citations.)

[The] Congressional Budget Office (CBO) was established by the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-344). The Act created the CBO to provide Congress with objective, nonpartisan analysis of budgetary and economic issues, including cost estimates and deficit projections for legislation like the Big Beautiful Bill (#BBB).

There are a lot of little details to that, and we’ll look at them, I promise. But one of them is this: By law — the same law —the CBO must make their baseline budget projections based on the law as it stands; it may not change the baseline to suit coming changes to the law — like the ones in the BBB.

So Miller’s first point is generally correct — the BBB doesn’t codify most of the DOGE cuts, because by law it cannot. The DOGE cuts are almost exclusively to discretionary spending, and the distinction between mandatory and discretionary spending is established, you guessed it, by law. That same law, in fact.

What’s the difference, you ask? Simply, mandatory spending is spending that is required by law under separate legislation — think Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Discretionary spending is, well, everything else: everything that is funded by the annual budgetary process. Now, at this point, Miller slips a little bit in his discussion because he says, “The senate rules prevent it from cutting ‘discretionary’ spending.” It’s a tiny quibble, perhaps, but this is a discussion that is characterized on all sides by tiny quibbles made to emphasize someone’s own goals and interests.

The tiny quibble is this: You can’t do it in the BBB, because that’s not germane to the purpose of the bill. That runs into a Senate rule called the “Byrd Rule,” named for the former lion — or rather Exalted Cyclops — of the Senate, the late Robert C. Byrd (D-W.V.). That link will lead to a full summary of the Byrd Rule, but the important point right now is that to do anything that the Byrd Rule would forbid, you have to get 60 votes in the Senate. But what is mandatory is fixed by law. The Byrd Rule is how that law is enforced in the Senate.

Now, let’s just answer the inevitable comments: “Well, duh, just change the law.” You’re right, that is possibly desirable — but you can’t change the law without getting past a filibuster. You can’t do it in the BBB, because that’s not germane to the purpose of the bill.
Skipping down to the end:
MILLER'S CONCLUSION:

The bill has two fiscal components: a massive tax cut and a massive spending cut.

And that’s the bottom line, and it’s correct. The BBB does reduce taxes versus the CBO’s expectation and current law, or, more honestly, it prevents taxes — your taxes. The “tax cuts on billionaires” line is errant nonsense. Actual spending in the actual next year is actually cut.

The problem here — an ongoing problem — is that a lot of the gaslighting is coming from both sides, and it’s all built around ignorance or duplicity. Yes, Rand, I’m looking at you. Chip Roy, you too. And include all the Senate Democrats in this as well. I’ll cut Elon a little slack, because he’s made himself the richest man in the world by ignoring people who tell him something can’t be done. But sometimes, they’re telling you something can’t be done because it just can’t be done.

But what the Big Beautiful Bill does do is cut spending this year by $1.6 trillion.

Now, there’s a final point here. To do any of this stuff, the Big Beautiful Bill must pass! Maybe it does increase the SALT deduction for now. But that gains some important votes — and remember, the final House vote was 215-214.

Activist aid ship carrying Greta Thunberg reaches Egyptian coast as it heads for Gaza
[IsraelTimes] A high-profile activist mission sailing to Gaza with 12 activists on board, including Swedish climate campaigner Greta Thunberg, has reached the Egyptian coast and is nearing the Strip, organizers say.

The Madleen, part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, left Sicily last week with a cargo of relief supplies “to break Israel’s blockade on Gaza.”

“We are now sailing off the Egyptian coast,” German human rights activist Yasemin Acar tells AFP.

“We are all good,” she adds.

In a statement from London, the International Committee for Breaking the Siege of Gaza — a member organization of the flotilla coalition — says the ship has entered Egyptian waters.

The group says it remains in contact with international legal and human rights bodies to ensure the safety of those on board, warning that any interception would constitute “a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.”

The Israeli Navy is expected to block the vessel should it enter Israel’s territorial waters.

Clashes aboard the Madleen, which was organized by the pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel Freedom Flotilla Coalition, would likely spark diplomatic outrage.

Britain has so far rejected Israeli requests to prevent the boat, flying under a UK flag, from reaching Israeli

Israeli officials: Lebanon army was told about Hezbollah drone sites a week before strikes, but failed to act
Surely Sun Tzu wrote in The Art of War that the general who relies on “insh’allah” instead of using the brains he was given will lose.
[IsraelTimes] Lebanese authorities were told of Hezbollah’s underground drone manufacturing facilities in Beirut, but failed to act, unnamed Israeli officials tell the Kan public broadcaster.

The officials say that the Lebanese army was told about the facilities about a week before the Israel Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes on several buildings in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Thursday evening, after issuing an evacuation warning.

The strikes in Beirut hit several underground drone manufacturing facilities belonging to Hezbollah’s aerial forces, also known as Unit 127, according to the military.

Ahead of the strikes, the IDF said it had “identified that Hezbollah’s aerial unit is working to produce many thousands of UAVs, under the guidance and funding of Iranian terror officials.”

This was happening, the military said, “despite the understandings between Israel and Lebanon” as laid out in a November ceasefire agreement that halted more than a year of fighting along Israel’s northern border.

CEO of Boston Consulting Group said to apologize for involvement in Gaza aid mechanism
Coward.
[IsraelTimes] The CEO of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a US management consulting firm that helped establish the new American- and Israeli-backed aid distribution mechanism in Gaza, apologizes for the company’s involvement in the initiative.

In an email obtained by The Washington Post, Christoph Schweizer says that his company had fired two partners involved in the project and has launched a “formal investigation” to ensure “this does not happen again.”

“I deeply regret that in this situation, we fell short — of our own standards and of the trust that you, our clients and our broader communities place in BCG,” he says. “I am sorry for how deeply disappointing this has been to many BCGers around the world.”
What a pity I don’t employ them, so I can’t fire them for it. The fool probably thinks he is being prudential.
Last week, a BCG consultant said the company, responsible for setting the payment and procurement rates for a network of contractors tasked with constructing four aid distribution centers in southern Gaza, ended its contract with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, the body running the mechanism.

BCG said it had offered its services to the humanitarian effort on a pro bono basis and did not receive any compensation for its work. However, another individual familiar with the project disputes this claim, asserting that BCG submitted monthly invoices exceeding $1 million.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu worked for BCG in the United States prior to his political career.

Following a nearly three-month aid blockade on the territory, Israel announced last month the start of the new system, which is meant to keep aid from reaching Hamas members.

But the Israeli-backed efforts to supply aid to the strip continue to be chaotic, with operations beset by deadly incidents.

Additionally, the mechanism has come under harsh condemnation from the United Nations, rights groups and foreign countries who say it does not sufficiently address the humanitarian needs in Gaza.

Report: UN conference to discuss steps toward recognition of Palestinian state rather than declaration
[IsraelTimes] A New York conference later this month will discuss steps toward recognition of a Paleostinian state rather than a declaration, unnamed diplomats tell The Guardian.

The British outlet says there has been a change in the aims of the confab, and that officials "will instead hope to agree on steps."

The newspaper says the decision "marks a retreat."

The report says that French officials told their Israeli counterparts earlier this week that the conference will not see recognition of a Paleostinian state.

The international conference meant to resurrect the idea of a two-state solution to the Israel-Paleostinian conflict will take place from June 17 to 20 at the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
headquarters in New York.
No matter what they decide, Gaza has proved that there is no two-state solution that Israel can live with. Gaza was independent, completely self-ruling since Hamas was elected in 2007, and 10/7 is the result after a series of slightly less serious, considerably shorter wars. So if forced to sign off on it, Israel will end up having to reconquer the West Bank as well as Gaza — and then the Palestinians will have proved that they cannot be allowed to remain there at all. President Trump is right.
The conference stems from a resolution approved in December by the UN General Assembly, and it will be co-chaired by La Belle France and Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
French President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday that he expected the conference to take steps "toward recognizing Paleostine," without being more specific.

Macron said in April that Gay Paree could recognize a Paleostinian state in the coming months, possibly at the June conference. The French president’s statement drew a furious response from Israel, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calling it a "huge prize for terror."

Gaza aid group says Hamas threats to staff kept distribution hubs closed on Saturday, at least one hub to open Sunday in central Gaza
[IsraelTimes] GHF accuses terror group of trying to restore the UN-backed mechanisms used previously as it had been able divert goods from those in need for its own purposes

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation said that it was unable to open its aid distribution centers in the Gaza Strip on Saturday due to threats from Hamas, marking the latest disruption to the aid group’s operations as it struggles to get off the ground.

The statement did not provide any further information on the terror group’s threats, but a GHF spokesperson said they were directed at the foundation’s drivers and at local Palestinian staff helping operate the distribution sites.

It marked the fourth time in the past week that GHF operations were disrupted, and the second time it kept its centers shuttered altogether, although previous work stoppages were due to overcrowding and mass casualty incidents — allegedly involving Israeli fire — rather than due to Hamas threats.

“Hamas is the reason hundreds of thousands of hungry Gazans were not fed today,” GHF said in its statement announcing Saturday’s closures.

“The group issued direct threats against GHF operations. These threats made it impossible to proceed today without putting innocent lives at risk,” it added.

It accused Hamas of being bent on aid operations returning to the UN-backed mechanisms that had been used previously, as it had been able to divert assistance from those in need through “manipulating the distribution processes.”

“These threats will not deter the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation from its mission to deliver food to Gazans who need it most,” it said, adding that it was adapting its operations to overcome such threats and resume aid distribution as soon as possible.

Since launching its operations late last month, GHF has opened three hubs in southern Gaza, of which only two have been functional in recent days, and not consistently.

The agency has faced heavy scrutiny from other aid bodies, as well as the UN and foreign countries, who say that it does not sufficiently address the humanitarian needs in the war-torn Palestinian enclave.

Critics have also accused GHF of putting aid seekers in harm’s way, with operations beset by deadly incidents, multiple days in a row.

The initial mass casualty event occurred last Sunday as hundreds of Gazans made their way to the Israeli and US-backed aid distribution compound in Rafah — the only one open that day, amid the partial easing of the more than two-month blockade on aid into the Strip. Hamas-controlled health authorities in the war-torn enclave reported that 31 people had been killed and nearly 200 had been wounded in the pre-dawn shooting near the distribution center in Rafah, for which the IDF largely denied responsibility. The death toll could not be verified, nor were the subsequent Hamas-issued tolls of three killed on Monday and 27 killed on Tuesday in similar incidents.

Israel and the US have promoted GHF’s new operations as a replacement for the long-established UN aid network in the Gaza Strip, arguing that it can effectively box Hamas out of the distribution process after the terror group managed to divert much of the aid that was coming in through the UN and international organizations — charges that those groups have denied.

While the UN has continued to distribute aid in the Strip while GHF finds its footing, it has complained that it has been unable to deliver much of its own humanitarian supplies due to IDF restrictions on movements and because roads that the military designates for its trucks to use are unsafe and vulnerable to looters.

GHF began operating in conjunction with a renewed Israeli offensive in Gaza almost 20 months after the war there was sparked by the Hamas onslaught of October 7, 2023, when thousands of terrorists invaded southern Israel to kill some 1,200 people and take 251 hostages. More than 50 of the hostages are still held, at least 20 of whom are believed to be alive.

GHF says aid center will be open in central Gaza this morning, all others to stay closed
[IsraelTimes] The Gaza Humanitarian Fund says it will open an aid distribution site in central Gaza this morning, after keeping its sites closed yesterday over what it said were threats from Hamas against its staff.

It will be the only site open on Sunday, it says.

In the update posted on Facebook, GHF reminds people that they may only take one box per family.

Earlier, the organization said two aid centers would be open in Rafah in the afternoon but has since deleted the statement from its Facebook page.

Earlier:
GHF says two aid distribution sites to be open Sunday afternoon, warns against showing up earlier
[IsraelTimes] The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation says it will open two aid distribution sites tomorrow after keeping its sites closed yesterday over what it said were threats from Hamas against its staff.

The two sites in south Gaza’s Rafah will not open until noon, though, as the GHF still struggles to fully get off the ground.

The announcement on GHF’s Arabic Facebook page warns Gazans against showing up to distribution sites before they open, saying they may not be able to serve those who violate the rule.

Sites have seen massive crowding since they launched on May 26, highlighting the desperate humanitarian situation in the Strip, whose residents have been forced to sometimes walk dozens of miles to pick up heavy boxes of food.

The mechanism has been criticized by the UN and aid groups, who say civilians in need should not be forced to walk through IDF lines to pick up food. GHF, in turn, has blasted the UN for refusing to cooperate with the only initiative Israel is allowing for aid distribution at scale.

The GHF announcement also says women interested in picking up aid should approach staff for assistance, as men, for the most part, have been the only ones who have been able to fight through the crowds in order to pick up boxes of food.

Israeli forces detain prominent terror suspect in West Bank, foil imminent attack plan
[IsraelTimes] Israeli security forces detained a prominent terror operative and foiled an imminent attack in separate West Bank operations over the weekend, the military, Shin Bet, and police say.

This morning, undercover Border Police officers raided the town of Wadi Burqin, next to Jenin, to detain Muslim Masarwa, who is identified by the Shin Bet as a prominent member of a terror network in the West Bank city.

Another two wanted Palestinians were detained with him, and a handgun was seized, the joint statement says.

In an operation yesterday in the northern West Bank area, forces of the police’s Yamam unit detained a “terrorist who was planning to carry out an imminent attack,” according to the statement.

The wanted man was shot while trying to flee, and he was nabbed alongside four others, the IDF adds.

Ukrainian General Staff on where the Russian army attacks the most
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back the Russian offensive in the east and south of Ukraine.

More than half of all battles continue in three directions. A significant number of Russian assaults have already stalled.

Since the beginning of the day, 119 combat clashes have occurred on the front in 11 directions. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational report as of 16:00 on Saturday, June 7.

Thus, in the Kharkov direction, our defenders repelled one Russian assault near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, a battle is underway in the Stepova Novoselovka area.

In the Liman direction, the invading army attacked 16 times near the settlements of Grekovka, Novy Mir, Ridkodub, Zelenaya Dolina, Torskoye and Belogorovka. Five clashes continue.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled nine attempts by the occupiers to advance forward in the areas of Chasovy Yar and in the direction of Belaya Gora and Predtechnoye.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy also attacked nine times near Toretsk and in the direction of Dilievka and Yablunovka. Two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the occupiers carried out 45 assaults in the areas of the settlements of Poltavka, Mirolyubovka, Mirnoye, Yelizavetovka, Promen, Lisovka, Novosergeevka, Udachnoye, Novomikolaevka, Gorikhovoe, Kotlyarovka, Bogdanovka, Novoukrainka and Andreevka. The defense forces repelled 38 attacks. Seven clashes are still ongoing.

In the Novopavlovsk direction, our soldiers repelled 16 attacks near the settlements of Bogatyr, Vesyoloye, Burlatskoye and Volnoye Pole. Four combat clashes are still ongoing.

In the Gulyai-Polye direction, one attempt by the invaders to advance forward near Malinovka was successfully stopped, and three more clashes continue.

In the Orekhov direction, our troops stopped one enemy assault towards Novoandreyevka.

In the Dnieper direction, the enemy made two attempts to advance forward, but was unsuccessful.

In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian units repelled nine Russian attacks. Four more clashes are still ongoing.

Let us recall that Russia's losses have exceeded 995 thousand servicemen since the beginning of the war. In just one day on June 6, more than 1,100 "good Russians" were added.

i armed forces announced that they had carried out a military operation targeting Lod Airport (Ben Gurion Airport) in the occupied Yaffa region, using Paleostine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile.

The Yemeni Armed Forces issued the following statement:

It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...

The missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting Lod Airport in the occupied area of Yaffa using a Paleostine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile.

The operation successfully achieved its goal, thanks to Allah, forcing millions of occupying Zionists to flee to shelters and halting air traffic at the airport.

The Yemeni Armed Forces salute, in these blessed days, all the steadfast, loyal, and honest mujahideen in Gaza, the land of glory, pride, and dignity, and throughout Paleostine, the front line of defense for the entire Islamic nation.

Trump insists nuclear deal won’t let Tehran enrich uranium, hints US could strike Iran
[IsraelTimes] ‘If they enrich, then we’re going to have to do it the other way,’ US president tells reporters; Iran rejected deal that would have reportedly allowed limited enrichment

US President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election. Then he beat Kamala while dodging bullets...
asserted on Friday that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
will not be allowed to enrich uranium, despite reports that the deal Washington has proposed would allow Tehran to do so at low levels for a temporary period.

"They won’t be enriching. If they enrich, then we’re going to have to do it the other way," Trump told news hounds, hinting at a military strike against Iran’s nuclear sites if a deal does not pan out, while reiterating that a diplomatic agreement is his preferred option.

Since talks between the Trump administration and the Islamic Theocratic Republic began, the US has not been entirely consistent on whether to allow Iran to enrich uranium — to the chagrin of Israeli officials, who insist on no enrichment — with some statements indicating openness to a deal like the one inked by the B.O. regime in 2015 that would allow low-level enrichment and, for as long as the deal was in effect, place it under international inspection.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for Iran’s enrichment capabilities and nuclear facilities to be fully dismantled.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
Israel has assured the White House that it won’t launch an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities unless Trump signals that the ongoing negotiations with Tehran have failed, Axios reported Thursday, citing two Israeli officials familiar with the matter.

One official said it could take several months before that happened, and Iran would try to prevent the talks from collapsing.

Following five rounds of negotiations, the US last week presented Iran with a proposal for a deal that would reportedly restrict the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s uranium enrichment without halting it entirely. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...>
, rejected the proposal on Wednesday.

The supreme leader insisted Iran would not abandon its uranium enrichment program, saying that without enrichment its nuclear program was "useless," and asking of the US: "Who are you to tell us whether we should have a nuclear program or not?"

The rejected proposal, as laid out in an Axios report on Monday, would have allowed Iran to retain low levels of enrichment for civilian uses like nuclear medicine and commercial power if it agreed to shut down its heavily protected underground sites for a period of time.

The deal would have prevented Iran from conducting new research and developing centrifuges. It would have also required Iran to stop enriching uranium to the higher levels it currently reaches and to mothball its underground enrichment facilities for a to-be-agreed-upon period.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
Iran would be able to keep enriching in above-ground facilities to 3 percent, the level needed to fuel a civilian nuclear reactor.

The agreement calls for the eventual creation of a regional consortium to handle uranium enrichment for civilian uses — a plan first studied more than a decade ago in negotiations that led to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. Trump withdrew the US from that deal during his first term as president.

The consortium would in theory include the US, Iran and countries such as Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. , and possibly The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
, with its enrichment activity monitored by ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors, according to Axios.
All those gyrations to get a deal that Iran would just continue cheating on anyway. as they’ve been doing for over two decades. Just bounce the rubble already — get out of the way so Israel can do what they’ve been rehearsing for ages.

British TV antiques expert jailed over artworks sold to suspected Hezbollah donor
[IsraelTimes] In what is thought to be first such conviction under UK Terrorism Act, Oghenochuko Ojiri pleads guilty to selling 8 pieces worth $190,000 to US-sanctioned collector Nazem Ahmad

A British art dealer who appeared on BBC television shows appraising antiques was locked away
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
Friday for two years and six months for failing to report "high-value" art sales to a suspected Hezbollah donor.

Oghenochuko Ojiri, 53, was sentenced by London’s Old Bailey criminal court for selling artwork worth almost £140,000 ($190,000) to Nazem Ahmad,
....Belgian-Lebanese dual citizen sanctioned by the US ...suspected of financing Leb
...The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else?...
’s Hezbollah, which is banned as a terrorist group in the UK.

"You knew about Ahmad’s suspected involvement in financing terrorism and the way the art market can be exploited by people like him," the sentencing judge, Bobbie Cheema-Grubb, said.

Ojiri pleaded guilty to eight offenses of failing to disclose information under the Terrorism Act, and is thought to be the first person convicted under the specific charge.

The art expert, who appeared on the BBC show Bargain Hunt and who owned a gallery in London, sold eight artworks to Ahmad — whose name was kept off the paperwork — between October 2020 and December 2021.

Ahmad, a Lebanon-based wealthy art collector, was sanctioned in 2019 by United States authorities, who suspect him of being a "high-level" Hezbollah financer.

Ojiri was "aware of the financial sanctions," the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.

He sought to "conceal the identity of the true purchaser by changing the details on invoices" and saving Ahmad under a different name on his phone, according to Bethan David from the CPS’s Counter Terrorism Division

"His motivation appears to be financial, along with a broader desire to boost his gallery’s reputation within the art market by dealing with such a well-known collector," added David.

The art dealer was arrested in April 2023, on the same day that the UK government announced sanctions against Ahmad.

His lawyer said Ojiri was arrested "while filming a BBC television program," adding that the defendant had been "naive."

London’s Met Police officers also seized several artworks, including a Picasso and one by Andy Warhol, belonging to Ahmad from two UK warehouses as part of a joint operation with US Homeland Security.

The case "should act as a warning to all art dealers that we can, and will, prosecute those who knowingly do business with people identified as funders of terrorist groups," said Dominic Murphy, head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.

Utah killer with dementia is competent enough for death sentence to be carried out, judge rules
[FoxNews] Ralph Leroy Menzies, 67, was sentenced to death in 1988 after he was convicted of killing Maurine Hunsaker, a young mother of three

A convicted killer in Utah who developed dementia during his time on death row is competent enough to be executed, a state judge ruled on Friday.

Ralph Leroy Menzies, 67, was found guilty and sentenced to death in March 1988 for the 1986 killing of Maurine Hunsaker, a 26-year-old mother of three.

Judge Matthew Bates said Menzies "consistently and rationally understands" what is happening and why he is facing execution, despite his recent cognitive decline.

"Menzies has not shown by a preponderance of the evidence that his understanding of his specific crime and punishment has fluctuated or declined in a way that offends the Eighth Amendment," which prohibits cruel and unusual punishments, Bates said in his court order.

Menzies selected the firing squad as his method of execution and will become only the sixth U.S. prisoner executed by firing squad since 1977 — three in Utah, with the last one in the state carried out in 2010, and two in South Carolina this year.

The Utah Attorney General’s Office is expected to file a death warrant soon.

Menzies’ lawyers had argued their client's dementia was so severe that he could not understand why he was being put to death, adding that they plan to appeal Friday's ruling to the state Supreme Court.

Colorado hostage rally attacker appears in federal court on hate crime charge
The latest. I could have sworn that I saw something about Mr. Soliman’s wife having her own application for asylum or something, because she’s an engineer, but I can’t find it — and as we know my memory is porous, so that might not be true.
[IsraelTimes] Mohamed Sabry Soliman may receive life in prison while family could face deportation; investigators say he tried to buy a gun but couldn’t because he wasn’t a US citizen

A man who told Sherlocks he was driven by a desire "to kill all Zionist people" when he threw Molotov cocktails at demonstrators raising awareness of Israeli hostages appeared briefly in federal court for the first time Friday to face a hate crime charge.

Mohammed Sabry Soliman, 45, sat in the jury box in a Denver courtroom, handcuffed and dressed in a green jail uniform, a US Marshal sitting in the row behind him. Listening to the proceedings in Arabic through an interpreter, he answered "yes" and "I understand" in Arabic as Magistrate Judge Timothy P. O’Hara explained his rights.

Before the brief hearing started, Soliman mostly looked away from the crowded gallery, but after the proceedings, he nodded and smiled as his lawyers spoke to him.

A conviction on a hate crime charge typically carries a penalty of no more than 10 years in prison, but Assistant US Attorney Melissa Hindman said if the crime involves an attempted killing, the sentence can be as long as life in prison.

Soliman is represented by public defenders who do not comment on their cases to the media. He is scheduled to appear in federal court again on June 18 for a hearing in which federal prosecutors will be asked to show they have enough evidence to prosecute Soliman. He’ll face a similar hearing in state court on July 15.

He is accused of Sunday’s attack on the weekly demonstration in Boulder, which Sherlocks say he planned for a year. The victims include 15 people and a dog. He has also been charged in state court in Boulder with attempted murder and assault counts, as well as counts related to the 18 Molotov cocktails police say he carried to the demonstration.

Not all of the victims were physically injured. Some of them are considered victims because they were in the area and could potentially have been hurt in the attack, 20th Judicial District Michael Dougherty said Thursday.

Three victims remained in the hospital Friday, UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital spokesperson Dan Weaver said.

The dog was among the injured, which resulted in an animal cruelty charge being filed against Soliman, Dougherty said.

Soliman told Sherlocks that he waited until after his daughter graduated from school before launching the attack, according to court documents.

Federal authorities want to deport Soliman’s wife and their five children, who range from 4 to 17 years old,
Soliman's wife is Hayem El Gamal, and their eldest child, daughter Habiba Soliman, just graduated from high school.
but a judge issued an order Wednesday halting deportation proceedings until a lawsuit challenging their deportation can be considered. Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin has described their claims as "absurd" and "an attempt to delay justice."

US immigration officials took Soliman’s wife and children into custody Tuesday. They are being held at a family immigration detention center in Texas.

According to a court document filed Friday by the family’s lawyers, law enforcement had arranged for Soliman’s wife and children to stay in a hotel while their home was searched following the attack. After two nights, Homeland Security Investigations agents told the family they had to move to another hotel for their safety and were then met by between 10 and 20 plainclothes officers who took them into custody, the filing said.

According to the document, one of them allegedly told Soliman’s wife, "You have to pay for the consequences of what you did."

17 illegal migrants discovered crammed in RV, sedan in sweltering Arizona heat
[FoxNews] A US citizen was arrested and charged with human smuggling

A man has been arrested and charged with human smuggling after 17 illegal migrants were found crammed inside an RV and a nearby sedan in the sweltering Arizona heat Wednesday.

The majority of the illegal migrants, who are all from Mexico, were found packed inside the cramped RV which was parked on a property in Nogales as temperatures inside soared under the summer sun, according to Sean L. McGoffin, chief patrol agent of Border Patrol's Tucson Sector.

Those inside the RV, including a minor, had limited space and ventilation with no access to running water, McGoffin said. The rest of the migrants were wedged into a small sedan that was discovered during a vehicle stop.

"This rescue likely prevented a tragedy," McGoffin said. "With summer temperatures already climbing, packing people into trailers and vehicles without proper ventilation or water is a recipe for disaster. Human lives should never be treated as cargo."

All the migrants are now safe, in custody and will be processed accordingly, McCoffin said. The rescued individuals are being processed for expedited removal in accordance with U.S. immigration law.

The man who was arrested is a U.S. citizen and initially attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended by agents shortly after.

Investigators are working to determine whether others were involved.

The operation was carried out by Nogales Border Patrol, Nogales Police and Homeland Security Investigations.

Scientists have revealed the unenviable future of dozens of US cities
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Almost three dozen US cities, home to 34 million people, are gradually sinking under water. This is the conclusion reached by scientists from Virginia Tech.

"A comprehensive radar satellite analysis of 28 major U.S. cities shows that in each city, more than 20 percent of the land is submerged," according to a paper published in the journal Nature Cities.

It is noted that this process is slow, several millimeters per year. The researchers named Texas as the fastest sinking territory in the United States. According to their data, 42% of its territory is sinking at a rate of more than 5 mm per year. Experts note that the state of the same name has the most alarming situation overall.

“High rates of subsidence were also recorded in Dallas and Fort Worth <…> Chicago, New York, Detroit, Denver and Indianapolis,” the article specifies.

The slowest rate of warming is in Boston, Portland, and Phoenix, at less than 1 mm per year. Memphis and San Jose, on the other hand, are rising slightly.

According to experts, because of this, 29 thousand buildings in American cities are in high-risk zones.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, an international group of scientists came to the conclusion that if the planet's atmosphere warms up by two degrees more than the pre-industrial era, this will lead to the flooding and destruction of more than 1,500 coastal ecosystems around the world. According to experts, in this case, the rate of sea rise will increase to 7-8 mm per year.
And if it doesn’t, then it won’t. Or possibly something else interesting will happen. The profundity is ineluctibly profound.
Vladimir Pinaev, Associate Professor of the Department of Environmental Safety and Product Quality Management at the RUDN Institute of Ecology, told Regnum that a change in the level of the world's oceans, taking into account the warming of the planet's atmosphere by two or more degrees, could occur in 2080–2100, and thanks to the research of scientists, coastal and island states can begin preparing for possible flooding scenarios in advance.
Here in Cincinnati the suburbs are uphill from the city center, so that takes care of the problem. Or they can go for the Venice solution, which if I recall correctly has worked for over a millennium…
The American newspaper New York Times reported last September that global climate change processes are significantly accelerating the wear and tear of bridges, which could lead to their mass collapses in the United States. Many of them are not designed for the abnormally high air temperatures observed in recent years. At the same time, sharp changes in temperature force the structures of these structures to constantly expand and contract, which increases their wear and tear.

Olde Tyme Religion
Toni Airaksinen: How Columbia Hamas Supporters Led Me To Convert to Judaism
Heartwarming journey to a double Happily Ever After. Read the second half at the link.
[Substack] A petition against Israel I refused to sign lit the fuse of anger in my peers at Columbia.

When I began studying at Barnard College of Columbia University in 2015, I was on a full-ride scholarship. Coming from a foster-care type upbringing, I had no family. No friends in NYC. And no support system. But I was full of hope, excitement and dreams to study.

But when a student knocked on my door my after I moved in with a Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions (BDS) petition against Israel, I paused. Was this a friend or foe? What was this about?

I had only vaguely heard of Israel and Paleostine, and I didn’t feel comfortable signing the petition. Geopolitics wasn’t my strong suit. And I barely heard about Israel or Paleostine before. So, I told the girl that I couldn’t sign it till I did more research, and she left, seemingly ok with that response.

Days later, she again asked me to sign the BDS petition.

I still hadn’t researched the conflict, so I declined again. Then next day, I recall that the girl had tagged me in the Barnard and Columbia Class of 2018 Facebook pages, which had each hundreds of members, that "Toni Airaksinen is an apartheid supporting Zionist who doesn’t care about Paleostinians and people of color." I was aghast.

I never said any of that. What’s a Zionist?

Suddenly, new acquaintances turned into vicious enemies. In searching for help, I learned that to Barnard students, Israel and Zionism was antithetical to the social justice orthodoxy they fought for.

Paleostine and Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...

..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
supporters and their allies targeted me, banged on my door at night, sent me thinly veiled death threats through Tumblr and Facebook, and stalked me through the campus grocery store, often hurling slurs under their lips.

I was forced to stop eating at the Barnard dining hall because students would "accidentally" bump into me, making me drop my tray. Instead, I found refuge at Columbia University’s dining halls and began taking all my classes at Columbia instead, where the students didn’t know me and it was easier to blend in, at least for a few months.

By not agreeing with students on Paleostine, I was branded a hater of people of color, a supporter of "apartheid" and "segregation" — basically, evil.

It was the late 2010s, and the activist zeitgeist revolved around "trigger warnings", decrying the "wage gap" and "microaggressions", the #MeToo movement, and fighting "apartheid" in Israel — mostly through petitions to ban Sabra Hummus and calls to divest the endowment from Israeli-related stocks such as Raytheon.

The campus zeitgeist had no place for me.

At some point during my freshman year, I made a Facebook post about the harassment I was getting. An SOS. A desperate plea for help. I was terrified.

I didn’t know what help I needed.

But after that post, I woke up to dozens of messages and friend requests. Who were these people? I wondered. Since I had grown up atheist in a small town, I had only a vague idea of who Jewish people were. But in droves, they came to my rescue.

One Jewish Upper West Side mom literally came to my dorm the same day with a care package. She gave me her phone number for emergencies. She was a Barnard alumna, and was shocked at what I told her.

Other Jewish strangers soon invited me to Shabbat dinners on the Upper West Side and in Brooklyn. They gave me advice — mostly, "Stay quiet" and "The college is not on your side."

Many texted me occasionally, to check in. Many of them, and my peers, assumed I was Jewish. But I wasn’t.

Not yet.

My new Jewish acquaintances brought me into their circles. Soon after, I started schlepping to Brooklyn every weekend, hanging out with Jewish college students, lighting shabbat candles, studying for exams and trying not to worry about school.

But things took a turn for the worse in my sophomore year.

Residential Life admins assigned me to live in the "Social Justice House" at Barnard. Why? I don’t exactly remember.

The Social Justice House was built on kindness and respect, but I didn’t realize it was a political hotbed until I began meeting my housemates. My folly.

My roommate, Fatimah, was Paleostinian and a member of SJP. My other suitemate was a leader of Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), a Barnard anti-Israel club that works in lockstep with SJP. A Lebanese-Paleostinian girl was down the hall. I shuddered as every other weekend, they and other pro-Paleostine students from Barnard and Columbia held activist style meetings in my dorm’s kitchen while smoking reefer and hookah, giggling about me in hushed tones.

I had no clue how I got placed with them. Perhaps Barnard officials thought I would change my mind on Israel?

But when I asked my resident assistant if I could change dorms, I recall her asking something along the lines of: "Have you considered learning more about Israel’s apartheid?"

I later learned she too was an SJP supporter.

Slowly, I learned more about Israel and Paleostine. As a student journalist covering campus politics nationwide for websites like USA TODAY and PJ Media, I covered stories about Jewish college students and antisemitism across the country. I thought I was doing something helpful. But the harassment continued.

Again, I appealed on Facebook. What should I do? Help?

Over the next week, more Jewish students, New Yorkers and Columbia alumni reached out. This time not by the dozens, but by the hundreds. They were appalled at what I was facing, but nobody had the power to do anything.

Nevertheless, they became almost like a family to me. During the weekends, summer, and winter breaks, Jewish rabbis and moms in Brooklyn graciously opened their homes to me when I had nowhere else I felt safe to stay.

They drove me to doctor appointments, connected me to journalism opportunities at Jewish-allied media companies, taught me about Halacha, how to cook meals for large parties and so much more. For all that, they asked me to sign nothing.

Once, while staying with a rabbi during my sophomore year in the summer, after a year of living with Paleostinian activists, I asked whether I should convert to Judaism.

I was already learning the basics of keeping kosher, some of the Shabbat prayers, and bits and pieces of Halacha (Jewish law). So why not convert? Plus, wouldn’t this make my "landlords" happy?

Nay, the rabbi’s wife said. "We adore you.. You don’t have to convert to stay here. There’s no pressure." Phew.

But that was less of a deterrent as it was an inspiration. I continued studying Judaism anyway, hanging out in shuls in Crown Heights and Midwood with my friends to study Torah and Yiddish words, and observing the Jewish holidays in a rudimentary way.

Over at Barnard — during the school week — I joined the school newspaper.

But one night, after I published a column in The Columbia Spectator, the Columbia University newspaper, a young man named Benjamin reached out to applaud one of my articles. I was excited. He was cute. Over on Twitter, I had built up over 18,000 followers, and my articles were going viral. That’s how he found me: Twitter. Of all places. I had pledged not to meet my fans, but something was different about him. But eventually, we fell in love.

I soon arranged my Columbia classes so that I could leave campus on Thursday night to see Benjamin in New Jersey, and come back Monday or Tuesday morning. The less time I spent on campus, the less I was harassed. The less I was seen, the less harassment I heard. The less I said about the harassment, the less bullies felt empowered to intimidate me.

Sometimes, the most gracious thing you can do in the face of hate: is to stay silent.

At one point during junior year: I had read enough. I didn’t support the chants of "to the river to the sea", the catchphrases about "globalizing the intifada" and knew I didn’t support Paleostinian’s vision of "Israel" without Jewish people.

I continued publishing stories about Jewish students and antisemitism. Meanwhile,
...back at the abandoned silver mine, there was another explosion...

...back at the pond, the radioactive tadpoles grown into frogs. Really big frogs, in fact...
I mostly kept quiet about my own harassment, not wanting to invite extra attention, scared that I would anger more hate to descend on me.

My senior year, I skipped the keffiyah-fest known as graduation, scared to be seen on campus. When I got my 2018 graduation yearbook in the mail: my name was suspiciously absent. But I’m cautious to point the finger: it could have been a mistake. But I doubt it.

Later, when Benjamin and I moved to Boca Raton in 2023 after the October 7th attack on Israel, I felt ready: I felt called to Judaism. To me, converting wasn’t a choice. It was my destiny. There’s absolutely no other way I felt I could live my life without Judaism. By then, Jews were more of my family than the "family" I had grown up with.

Caribbean-Latin America
Militarization of criminal organizations as a factor in criminal rebellion
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Summary written by Konstantin Strigunov.

For all their equipment and uniforms I would classify Mexican cartel armed group as militia/mercenaries. Low quality, poorly trained and poorly led, with their regulars defending a fat paycheck.

[ColonelCassad] Over the past decades, economically motivated criminal organizations have undergone a long evolutionary path, achieving the potential to pose a threat to the territorial integrity of the state, thereby acquiring the characteristics of entities with de facto political goals. As V.N. Lunin notes in his work, "the drug business as an organic component of modern united criminal groups constantly gravitates toward politicization of its activities and structures, striving in the long term to create a kind of narco-terrorist quasi-state."

At the same time, D.V. Morozov is skeptical about this possibility, since, in his opinion, "practice shows that drug structures prefer to exercise territorial control indirectly ‒ through legally operating government structures. This allows drug cartels to rule while remaining in the shadows."

On the other hand, as the author showed using the example of Mexico and Brazil, upon reaching a sufficiently high level of development, drug trafficking is capable of exercising forceful control over territories, without which they are unable to achieve economic goals, including sufficient provision of themselves with resources. Since territorial control means a threat to national security, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state, then in this case the economic and de facto political goals of the PO are indistinguishable and inseparable from each other. Therefore, a criminal group, for example, a gang or a cartel, acts as a criminal insurgent, which is a participant in a criminal rebellion, which differs from conventional terrorism and rebellion.

This difference is that the only political motive of criminal insurgents is to obtain autonomy and economic control over the territory. As A. Bustamante notes in his work, criminal insurgent movements are non-state actors with a high level of hierarchical organization based on networks or nodes, whose combat capabilities allow them to make abrupt changes within the structures of the state.

The goal of this is to parasitize on ungoverned territories and maintain territorial control over a settlement of strategic importance for the continuation of their illegal operations. It should be noted that criminal rebellion is sometimes considered a type of commercial rebellion. Supporters of the approach according to which highly developed criminal organizations should be considered as criminal rebels include, in particular, J. Sullivan, R. Bunker and M. Manwaring. Thus, R. Bunker considered developed Mexican cartels such as Los Zetas and Los Caballeros Templarios as new military formations that use “criminal soldiers”, becoming a direct threat to the integrity of the Mexican state where they operate.

The researcher notes that while the original basis of criminal rebellion is
rebellion has an economic origin, the cartels themselves, which have created hundreds of "zones of impunity" (that is, free from state influence), are considered as effectively politicized subjects. This approach is also shared by M. Manwaring and J. Sullivan. Another researcher, J. Mendizabal, notes that criminal rebellion is not aimed at overthrowing governments or imposing any ideology. On the contrary, its goal is to provoke an extremely violent struggle against the state to obtain autonomy and economic benefits from its criminal activities in conditions of complete impunity, freeing itself from all types of state control.

Thus, a criminal rebellion is an organized violent action of criminal organizations with a selfish motivation, which in the process of their evolution achieve such an organizational, personnel and resource potential, at which they are able to de facto achieve political goals through forceful territorial control and infiltration into the state apparatus, demonopolizing the state's right to socially sanctioned use of force, thereby creating a threat to its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

There are a number of factors that contribute to the emergence of a criminal rebellion, ranging from control over drug production and drug trafficking, which provides colossal resources for the criminal organization, to the fragmentation of criminal groups, sometimes leading to their organizational complication. This happened in Colombia after the liquidation of the Medellin and Cali Cartels, as shown in the work of M. Kenny, and in Mexico, where, as researchers from the Institute of Latin American Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences note in a collective monograph, the fragmentation process was accompanied by a redistribution of territory and property between cartels. This process was influenced by the militarization of the criminal organization.

The main idea of this study is that the militarization of criminal organizations contributes to a radical organizational complication and growth of their integral potential, as a result of which these actors can already take part in a criminal rebellion, having escaped state control and replacing the state in its individual territories.

The work shows that, although the militarization of crime in itself is not a new phenomenon and is quite widespread, since the leaders of many criminal organizations want to take advantage of the skills and knowledge of people with military and police experience or experience in the special services, such co-optation does not always lead to organizational transformations of groups that allow them to challenge the power of the state in certain territories and act as a subject of criminal rebellion.

For example, in traditional criminal communities, the involvement of individuals with military and operational experience allows for more sophisticated operations in drug trafficking, smuggling, financial crimes, etc. Thus, in the USA, Europe, and in the countries of the former Soviet Union, there are known examples of former military personnel and former law enforcement officers being involved in criminal activities by OCG leaders. However, these groups do not pose a threat to the territorial integrity of states.

The situation changes dramatically when the militarization of criminal organizations becomes widespread, as is the case in some countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in the context of weakening state institutions. In such cases, criminal organizations are not only trained in more complex operations and schemes, but are also able to challenge state power in a certain territory, forcing governments to respond not only with police forces, but also with troops. Consequently, all the prerequisites are created for an internal armed conflict (IAC) in the form of a criminal rebellion, when the militarization of the PI acts as part of a complex of factors of organizational transformations of groups, due to which these violent actors are able to undermine state sovereignty and violate its territorial integrity. PR in such an IAC act as de facto political subjects.

The key features of an IAC are:

1) ) achieving the necessary level of intensity of violence
2) the presence of organization of the parties to the conflict.

We determine the level of intensity of violence on the basis of the classification of the Uppsala Conflict Data Program, according to which a conflict is considered insignificant if the number of deaths is from 25 to 1,000 people per year, and over 1,000 - corresponds to a war.

The threshold of organization is a set of a number of indicators, while the party to the IAC can correspond to only some of them, including the presence of a command structure and disciplinary rules, control of territory, access to weapons or military equipment, recruitment of recruits.

The purpose of this paper is to show, using the example of a number of Latin American gangs and cartels, the militarization of these POs as a factor in their transformation into de facto political subjects of criminal rebellion and participants in the VVK.

CO-OPTATION OF FIGHTERS OF SECURITY AGENCIES AND EX-COMBATANTS OF REBEL FORMATIONS INTO CRIMINAL GROUPS
One of the most important reasons leading to the militarization of POs is the inclusion in their organization of current or former employees of security agencies, as well as ex-combatants of paramilitary formations with experience in irregular warfare. These individuals, who have military knowledge and skills, increase the military potential of the POs that receive double benefit from their involvement. Firstly, former employees of the security agencies and former members of rebel/terrorist organizations act as instructors for ordinary members of the PO. Secondly, they themselves are involved in the group's operations, which increases the likelihood of their success.

Examples of such symbiosis include the participation of former military personnel in training gang fighters in Brazilian favelas. As a result of such interaction, gang members acquired skills by learning small-group tactics in urban conditions, overcoming obstacles, using camouflage, coordination, etc.

Consequently, PO members trained in this way increase their chances of survival in clashes with Brazilian security forces. For example, the largest Brazilian gang, Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), hires dissidents from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia, FARC). The goal is to obtain heavy weapons and military training, which are necessary for the PCC to fight the security forces of Brazil, as well as to expand its activities in neighboring countries, including Colombia.

Another example of militarization is the inclusion of militants from rebel/terrorist organizations in its structure, up to command positions. In particular, the guerrilla of Chilean origin Mauricio Hernandez Norambuena, a former member of the left-wing radical organization "Patriotic Front of Manuel Rodríguez" (Frente Patriótico Manuel Rodríguez), previously established contact with the PCC.

Researchers M. Cristina and K. Tognolli note in their work the complication of the PCC structure during the time when M. Norambuena interacted with it. Such co-optation contributed to the increase in the integral potential of this PO, the improvement of its ability to plan its actions, including countering the security forces and carrying out large-scale robberies.

A striking example of the militarization of the PO are the Mexican cartels. One of the first and most iconic cases of professional soldiers defecting to join major cartels was the defection of fighters from the elite Special Airmobile Group (Grupo Aeromóvil de Fuerzas Especiales, GAFES) to the Cártel del Golfo. They later broke away to form the Los Zetas cartel, known for its extreme violence. As a criminal group made up of former soldiers, Los Zetas demonstrated an advantage over other cartels due to its professional training, established hierarchy, identity, knowledge and capacity for territorial control, recognition among civilians, and, finally, being autonomous in its activities and flexible in its structure.

Another Mexican organization that has co-opted the military is the Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG). This cartel’s innovative approach, which included recruiting military personnel, has allowed it to expand its operations to 40 countries in just 15 years (the cartel is believed to have formed in 2009). For example, Otto Fernando Godoy Cordón, a colonel in the Guatemalan armed forces, provided logistical support to the CJNG in the cocaine trade. The cartel is reported to have recruited dozens of former Colombian soldiers and US Marines with combat experience to improve the tactical capabilities of its armed forces.

The criminal insurgency is particularly pronounced in Haiti, where the state has essentially collapsed, as explored in detail in the work of O. James. The crisis in Haiti escalated critically in 2023, when the murder rate was 40.9 deaths per 100,000 people, more than double the 2022 level. After the US occupation in 1994, the armed forces in Haiti were disbanded and only much later, in 2017, were they partially restored (the number is estimated at 2,000 people). The country also has a National Police.

An analysis of the structure of Haitian PO indicates that the security agencies act as “donors” to local gangs that are waging an all-out war between themselves and what remains of the state. Thus, on October 13, 2023, in the La Saline area in the center of the capital Port-au-Prince (90% controlled by the PO), clashes resumed between gangs belonging to the G-9 famille et alliés coalition (hereinafter referred to as G-9), associated with the ruling Haitian Tet Kale party (French: Parti Haïtien Tèt Kale), which began in September due to the distribution of "income" from truck thefts.

The leader of the G-9 is former police officer Jimmy Cherizier (known by the nickname "Barbecue"), which means that representatives of the security forces in Haiti are not just used by the PO, but also occupy key "posts" in the hierarchy of local gangs. This alliance of gangs, led by the ex-policeman, attempted to eliminate the leader of the allied "Tokyo" gang, who challenged his power. The coalition was divided into two camps: on the one hand, the gangs of Carrefour Drouillard, Chen Mechan, Tokyo and Wharf Jérémie; on the other, the gangs of Belekou, Boston, Fort Dimanche, La Saline and the gang of D. Cherizier Delm.

The fighting, which lasted four days, weakened the G-9, as gangs from the first camp abandoned the coalition. The internal conflict within the G-9 is compounded by an armed confrontation with the criminal alliance G-pèp, which is supported by political opponents of Tete Kale and led by Jean-Pierre Gabriel (nickname Ti Gabriel). At the same time, in response to the formation of the Bwa Kale civilian militia, gang conglomerates were able to unite for a coordinated attack. In February 2024, the G9 and G-pèp, together (known as Viv Ansanm), attacked critical civilian infrastructure in Port-au-Prince.

Another example of the participation of security forces in the PO is Dimitri Herard, the former head of security for the President of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse, who was assassinated in 2021.

According to media reports citing intelligence and diplomatic sources, D. Gerard works with Johnson Andre, known as Izo, the leader of the powerful gang 5 Segonn, which is part of the criminal alliance G-pèp. It should be noted that it was after the murder of Jovenel Moïse that the PO, used by local political and business elites to suppress voter turnout, anti-government protests and seize land, actually got out of control, becoming a largely autonomous force and participants in a criminal rebellion.

Recruitment of military personnel by gangs is also recorded in Ecuador. In particular, the PO Los Chone Killers recruited sailors from the Ecuadorian Navy, who not only acted as sicarios (hired killers) for the group, but were also involved in the theft of ammunition and weapons from various units of the Navy, according to intelligence data.

The process of militarization of the PO is especially facilitated by the proximity of a state on whose territory there is a long-term internal armed conflict. For example, this kind of situation is observed in Venezuela, where local groups, growing in number over 100 people (the so-called mega-gangs), adopt the organizational structures, logistical systems and even strategies of rebel (guerrilla) organizations that are active in Colombia, as well as in Venezuela itself. As researchers note, guerrillas of Colombian origin have become a “school” for some Venezuelan gangs.

One of the largest Venezuelan POs, Tren de Aragua, adopted the organizational structure and practices of FARC and the National Liberation Army (Ejército de Liberación Nacional, ELN) during the period of intensified migration from Venezuela since 2014. Such mimicry of insurgents is an important stage in the evolutionary transformation of this group. Moreover, the very imitation of guerrilla groups with extensive combat experience is a very dangerous phenomenon.

In fact, the software adopts the model, tactics, methods and procedures of organizations that are most adapted to asymmetric warfare against government forces, which contributes to the establishment of territorial control by these POs.

The examples provided confirm the hypothesis put forward at the beginning of the paper about the militarization of POs in the LAC countries through the co-optation of individuals with military and operational experience, which in the conditions of this region contributes to the emergence of VVC in the form of a criminal rebellion. In such conditions, gangs and cartels act as criminal insurgents, which distinguishes them from traditional organized crime, since in this case these violent actors act as de facto political subjects. It should be noted that the situation
in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Haiti is characterized by extreme levels of violence.

Thus, in 2023, the number of violent deaths in these countries was 46,328, 31,062, 13,432, 7,878, 6,973 and 4,789 cases, respectively. Such
intensity of violence in the presence of organized, stable, resourced and well-armed PO gives grounds to conclude that there are signs of VVK in these countries.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russian Ministry of Defense announces its readiness to begin transferring the bodies of Ukrainian soldiers
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Moscow is ready to hand over the bodies of the dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Kiev right now, Lieutenant General Alexander Zorin, a representative of the Russian group at the negotiations with Ukraine, said on June 7.

“We are ready to work right now, because the bodies are in close proximity to the exchange site, and we are interested in carrying out this purely humanitarian action,” the Russian Defense Ministry reports Zorin’s words on its Telegram channel.

He recalled that the Russian side had fulfilled the agreements concluded in Istanbul on June 2 and delivered the first part of the bodies of the dead Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers to the Ukrainian border – 1,212 bodies. However, the humanitarian action did not take place because no one from the Ukrainian side made contact.

Some Ukrainian and international media outlets later reported that Kiev allegedly intends to postpone the prisoner exchange and return of the bodies of the dead until next week, June 9–15. Moscow will wait for official statements on this issue, Zorin concluded.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the second round of negotiations between Moscow and Kiev on the settlement of the conflict took place on June 2 in Istanbul. The Russian and Ukrainian sides agreed to exchange prisoners of war under the age of 25, as well as the sick and seriously wounded, on the principle of "all for all."

This is expected to be the largest prisoner exchange since the start of hostilities, which could include between 1,000 and 1,200 people. In addition, Moscow will unilaterally hand over to Kiev 6,000 bodies of fallen Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.

On June 7, Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to the Russian president and head of the Russian delegation at the talks with Ukraine, said that the leaders of the Kiev regime had unexpectedly postponed the acceptance of the bodies of the dead Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and the exchange of prisoners of war with the Russian Federation. Medinsky called on representatives of the international media to come to the site of the planned exchange and make sure that Russia was fulfilling its part of the agreement.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmitruk said on June 6 that the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, personally ordered that the bodies of the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers not be taken away. In his opinion, Zelensky refused to return the bodies of the soldiers from Russia because he was used to taking payments for the dead.

Medvedev: Ukraine does not take the bodies of Ukrainian soldiers because it does not want to pay the widows

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev believes that the Kiev regime did not take the bodies of its military personnel from the Russian side for two reasons.

"The Kiev bastards don't want to take the bodies of their dead. There are two reasons for this: it's scary to admit that there are 6,000 of them, and they don't want to pay the widows," Medvedev wrote on his page on the social network X.

The Russian Defense Ministry's contact group arrived at the border with Ukraine on June 7. However, the Ukrainian side unexpectedly postponed both the acceptance of bodies and the exchange of prisoners of war for an indefinite period. At the same time, the Kiev negotiating group did not even arrive at the exchange site. Moscow called on the Kiev regime to comply with the agreements and immediately begin the humanitarian action.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the residents of Ukraine will curse the Kiev regime if the Ukrainian side does not take the bodies of the dead Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said on June 7. Earlier, commenting on Kiev's refusal to accept the bodies of the dead Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, Zakharova said that the Kiev regime, which committed genocide against its own people, does not need Ukrainians, either alive or dead. She also noted: there is no nation or ethnic group in the world that would refuse to bury its soldiers.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmitruk said that the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, personally ordered that the bodies of Ukrainian soldiers not be taken away. According to the parliamentarian, Zelensky made this decision because he was used to taking payments for the dead.

Detained Columbia graduate claims ‘irreparable harm’ as he pleads for release
The poor, poor darling. Natural consequences are no fun at all.
[IsraelTimes] Syrian-born US resident and anti-Israel activist Mahmoud Khalil was first student arrested under Trump’s expanded immigration crackdown on Gaza war protesters

A Columbia graduate facing deportation over his pro-Paleostinian activism on campus has outlined the "irreparable harm" caused by his continued detention as a federal judge weighs his release.

Mahmoud Khalil
…at age 30 the Damascus-born Palestinian (with dual Algerian citizenship through his mother, whose family were revolutionaries back home) got a Masters in Paleo protest from Columbia, applying his training as Apartheid Divest’s frontman supporting Hamas since 10/8/2023, which overlapped his work as a UNWRA political affairs officer. Since his arrest by ICE he’s been represented by 19 attorneys, including CUNY law prof Ramzi Kassem, himself a Paleo student activist at Columbia back in the day, and the ACLU. Mr. Khalil worked his way through college in Beirut as a popular, MI-6 vetted local staffer at the British embassy leading soft power projects, on one of which he worked with his future wife, there for the summer on scholarship. No doubt it was for her sake he went to Columbia instead of Oxford…
said in court filings unsealed Thursday that the "most immediate and visceral harms" he’s faced in his months detained in Louisiana relate to missing out on the birth of his first child in April.

"Instead of holding my wife’s hand in the delivery room, I was crouched on a detention center floor, whispering through a crackling phone line as she labored alone," the 30-year-old legal US resident wrote. "When I heard my son’s first cries, I buried my face in my arms so no one would see me weep."

He also cited potentially "career-ending" harms from the ordeal, noting that Oxfam International has already rescinded a job offer to serve as a policy adviser.
”Having a Hamas supporter on staff, especially someone so handsome, with such a diverse and exotic background, is a plus. But we simply can’t have a convicted terrorist — it would bring the wrong kind of attention, my dear. It isn’t at all the done thing.”
Even his mother’s visa to come to the US to help care for his infant son was now under federal review, Khalil said.
Superior efficiency at the US State Department visa section? Kudos to the unnamed staffer who done good.

No doubt.
”Why should protesting this Israeli government’s indiscriminate killing of thousands of innocent Paleostinians result in the erosion of my constitutional rights?"
It wasn’t the words, dear boy. It was leading the harassment and physical abuse of Jews, Zionists, and those near them that caught the attention of the new Trump government. That kind of thing is very illegal over here, though your home culture lauds and requires it. Consider this a learning experience.
Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin responded that Khalil should simply self-deport, taking advantage of the administration’s offer of $1,000 and a free flight to those in the country illegally who use its CBP Home app. Khalil obtained a green card, but the Trump administration says it is revoking it.
*Snicker*
Khalil’s 13-page statement was among a number of legal declarations his lawyers filed highlighting the wide-ranging negative impacts of his arrest.
Given there are nineteen of them, they’ll have had to exert themselves to justify the boodles of money the usual Progressive NGOs have no doubt been shoveling in their direction.

Dr. Noor Abdalla,

his US citizen wife, described the challenges of not having her husband to help navigate their son’s birth and the first weeks of his young life.
Think of all those Israeli wives, Jews and non-Jews alike who have been doing without their husbands since the IDF called them up after 10/7/2023, and be grateful your husband’s part in the war is both shorter, not likely to be deadly, and has a predictable end.
Students and professors at Columbia wrote about the chilling effect Khalil’s arrest has had on campus life, with people afraid to attend protests or participate in groups that can be viewed as critical of the Trump administration.
Who woulda thunk they were actually trainable! This is a very exciting discovery, indeed.
Last week, a federal judge in New Jersey said the administration’s effort to deport Khalil likely violates the Constitution.
That’s just dumb.
Judge Michael Farbiarz wrote that the government’s primary justification for removing Khalil — that his beliefs may pose a threat to US foreign policy — could open the door to vague and arbitrary enforcement.

Khalil was detained by federal immigration agents on March 8 in the lobby of his university-owned apartment, the first arrest under Trump’s widening crackdown on students who joined campus protests against Israel’s war against terror groups in Gazoo

Strip, officials announced Saturday morning.

Pinta, a Thai national, was kidnapped alive by forces of Evil of the Mujahideen Brigades — a relatively small terror group in the Strip and somewhat allied with Hamas — from the Gaza border community of Kibbutz Nir Oz, where he worked as a farmhand.

The IDF said it believed that the terror group murdered Pinta in captivity during the first months of the war.

Intelligence obtained during a Shin Bet interrogation of a Paleostinian terror operative who was detained in Gaza led the IDF to the location of Pinta’s body in Rafah, the military said.

The IDF said the exact circumstances of his death and date were currently unknown and were under investigation.

Pinta was among three hostages whom Israel had grave concerns for their lives, though had not until now officially declared Pinta dead.

The IDF said the operation in Rafah on Friday was carried out using "precise intelligence" obtained by the Shin Bet from its interrogation of the terror operative and other information collected by the military’s Hostages Headquarters unit and the Military Intelligence Directorate.

After his body was brought to Israel and identified at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, also known as Abu Kabir, Israeli officials notified Pinta’s family, Thai officials, and Kibbutz Nir Oz.

The Mujahideen Brigades is a relatively small terror group in the Strip that was also responsible for the abduction and murder of Shiri Bibas and her two young sons, Ariel and Kfir, as well as Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein, whose bodies were recovered from Khan Younis early Thursday.

The terror group is still holding the body of another foreign national, according to the IDF.

Nir Oz was one of the worst-hit communities during Hamas’s October 7 terror onslaught.

In all, 47 people were killed in the kibbutz during the onslaught. Another 76 were kidnapped by the forces of Evil to Gaza. Currently, four hostages are presumed alive, and the bodies of seven captives from Nir Oz remain held in the Strip.

Known as ’Nick’ on his Facebook page, Pinta was working in the avocado fields of Kibbutz Nir Oz, saving up to pay off a debt and help his wife open a coffee shop.

He left his wife and young son in Thailand, a year and a half before the onslaught, to work on the avocado and pomegranate farm.

On the morning of October 7, Pinta called his wife, Narissara Chanthasang, to tell her there was shooting, and that he was running away.

Pinta was among 31 Thai nationals working in agriculture kidnapped by forces of Evil on October 7. Another two foreign farmhands, from Nepal and Tanzania, were also kidnapped. Hamas has since released 29 of them amid hostage deals with Israel.

In all, terror groups in the Gaza Strip are holding 55 hostages, including 54 of the 251 kidnapped by Hamas-led forces of Evil on October 7, 2023.

They include the bodies of at least 33 confirmed dead by the IDF, while 20 are believed to be alive. There are grave concerns for the well-being of two others, Israeli officials have said.

Hamas released 30 hostages — 20 Israeli civilians, five soldiers, and five Thai nationals — and the bodies of eight slain Israeli captives during a ceasefire between January and March, and one additional hostage, a dual American-Israeli citizen, in May as a "gesture" to the United States.

The terror group freed 105 civilians during a weeklong truce in late November 2023, and four hostages were released before that in the early weeks of the war.

In exchange, Israel has freed some 2,000 jugged

Paleostinian terrorists, security prisoners, and Gazook terror suspects detained during the war.

Eight hostages have been rescued from captivity by troops alive, and the bodies of 44 have also been recovered, including three mistakenly killed by the Israeli military as they tried to escape their captors, and the body of a soldier who was killed in 2014.

The body of another soldier killed in 2014, Lt. Hadar Goldin, is still being held by Hamas and is counted among the 55 hostages.

BRANCH LONG THOUGHT MOST DANGEROUS
Though believed to have been weakened in recent years due to infighting and suspected US dronezaps killing its leaders, the group known by the acronym AQAP had been considered the most dangerous branch of al-Qaeda still operating after the 2011 killing by US Navy SEALs of founder the late Osama bin Laden

rebels to do the same. The Iranian-backed group has launched missile attacks on Israel and targeted commercial vessels moving through the Red Sea corridor, as well as American warships.

The Trump administration launched an intense campaign of strikes on the Houthis, which only ended before the president’s recent trip to the Middle East.

The Houthis’ international profile rose as the group remains mired in Yemen’s long-stalemated war. al-Awlaki may be betting on the same for his group, which UN experts have estimated has between 3,000 and 4,000 active fighters and passive members. The group raises money by robbing banks and money exchange shops, as well as smuggling weapons, counterfeiting currencies, and ransom operations, according to the UN.

The Shiite Zaydi Houthis have previously denied working with AQAP, a Sunni Death Eater group. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
AQAP targeting of the Houthis has dropped in recent years, while the bully boyz keep attacking Saudi-led coalition forces, who have battled the Houthis.

"As the Houthis gain popularity as leaders of the ’Arab and Moslem world’s resistance’ against Israel, al-Awlaki seeks to challenge their dominance by presenting himself as equally concerned about the situation in Gaza," said Mohammed al-Basha, a Yemeni expert at the Basha Report risk advisory firm.

"For a national security and foreign policy community increasingly disengaged from Yemen, this video is a clear reminder: Yemen still matters."

Senior pro-Islah commander killed in tribal clashes in Ma'rib
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] A prominent leader in the so-called ''special security forces'' loyal to Islah Party, identified as Abdlhaq al-Sheikh was killed in armed festivities erupted Thursday evening between tribes and security forces in al-Wadi district of Ma'rib province in northeastern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
.

According to tribal sources, intense armed festivities erupted between rustics from Al Abida tribe, led by Sheikh Abdullah bin Said bin Jalal, and recruits from the so-called ''special forces'' loyal to the Saudi-led coalition and supported by the Islah Party, in the al-Wadi district.

Tribal sources reported that the festivities broke out following an attack by members of Al Khuraiss tribe on military checkpoints affiliated with the pro- coalition forces. This conflict was triggered by the appropriation of vast lands owned by the tribe's members for recruits coming from outside the province.

The confrontations resulted also in more than 20 maimed from both sides, as well as the closure of the international road linking Ma'rib and Hadhramaut, east of al-Wadi district, in a serious escalation that signals a potential widening of tribal tensions in the area.

Additionally, the festivities caused power outages in large parts of the city of Ma'rib, amid growing public concern about the possibility of wider confrontations in the coming days.

Heads of terror group that abducted and murdered Bibas family killed by IDF

terror group responsible for the October 7, 2023, abductions and eventual murders of several hostages, including Shiri Bibas and her two young sons, Ariel and Kfir, was killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza City on Saturday, the military said. Another senior member was killed in a separate strike in the city.

Asaad Abu Sharia was head of the Mujahideen Brigades, a relatively small Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
-allied terror group in the enclave, while Mahmoud Kaheel was one of its leading operatives. The Brigades confirmed the two had been killed.

"The news represents another step for us in closing the circle and the process of accepting the great loss," the Bibas family said in a statement following the news, adding, "Shiri, Ariel and Kfir will not return, but there is some comfort in knowing that the vile murderers will not harm another family."

Shiri Bibas, Yarden Bibas, and their two redheaded sons, Ariel, 4, and Kfir, a baby who was just nine months old at the time of the attack, were kidnapped from their Kibbutz Nir Oz home on October 7, 2023, when thousands of Hamas-led gunnies stormed southern Israel to kill some 1,200 people and take 251 hostages, sparking the war in Gaza.

In February, during Israel’s temporary ceasefire deal with Hamas, Yarden Bibas was released on February 1. The terror group then released the bodies of Ariel and Kfir Bibas alongside the body of hostage Oded Lifshitz, and an unidentified Gaza woman whom they claimed was Shiri Bibas. After Israel protested, Hamas returned Shiri’s body.

Then-IDF Spokesman Daniel Hagari said the boys’ captors had murdered them in November 2023 "in cold blood" and "with bare hands" and committed atrocities to hide the evidence — contrary to Hamas’s claim that the boys and their mother were killed in an Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
. Hagari added that Yarden Bibas had asked him to ensure the world "knows and is horrified by the way his children were murdered."

The Israel Defense Forces said that in addition to the Bibas family, the Brigades also kidnapped and murdered Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein, as well as Thai hostage Nattapong Pinta. The military recovered the bodies of Haggai and Weinstein from Gaza on Wednesday night, while Pinta’s body was returned on Saturday.

Haggai and Weinstein, 72 and 70, were a married couple who held US citizenship. They were murdered during their morning walk near Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023, and their deaths were confirmed by the military in December of that year.

Pinta, 31, was kidnapped alive from Nir Oz, where he worked as a farmhand, and murdered in captivity. He was one of some 30 Thai nationals working in agriculture in Israel who were kidnapped on October 7.

He moved to Israel a year and a half before the onslaught to work on the avocado and pomegranate farm and support his wife and young son in Thailand.

Paleostinian media reported over 30 dead in the strike in the Sabra neighborhood that killed Abu Sharia. The strike that killed Kaheel also killed his wife, children, and other family members, the terror group said.

According to the IDF, Abu Sharia invaded Kibbutz Nir Oz during the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, onslaught and was "directly involved" in abductions and murders of civilians, including members of the Bibas family.

The IDF said Abu Sharia was also behind various attacks in the Strip and directed attacks on Israel from the West Bank.

Terror groups in the Gaza Strip are now holding 56 hostages, including 55 of the 251 kidnapped by Hamas-led gunnies on October 7, 2023.

They include the bodies of at least 33 confirmed dead by the IDF. Another 20 are believed to be alive, while there are grave concerns for the well-being of three others, Israeli officials have said.

POTUS calls up at least 2000 National Guardsman to protect ICE against California riots

[WhiteHouseGov]
Memo dated 7 Jun 2025
MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

THE SECRETARY OF HOMELAND SECURITY

SUBJECT: Department of Defense Security for the Protection of Department of Homeland Security Functions

Numerous incidents of violence and disorder have recently occurred and threaten to continue in response to the enforcement of Federal law by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other United States Government personnel who are performing Federal functions and supporting the faithful execution of Federal immigration laws. In addition, violent protests threaten the security of and significant damage to Federal immigration detention facilities and other Federal property. To the extent that protests or acts of violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.

In light of these incidents and credible threats of continued violence, by the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard under 10 U.S.C. 12406 to temporarily protect ICE and other United States Government personnel who are performing Federal functions, including the enforcement of Federal law, and to protect Federal property, at locations where protests against these functions are occurring or are likely to occur based on current threat assessments and planned operations. Further, I direct and delegate actions as necessary for the Secretary of Defense to coordinate with the Governors of the States and the National Guard Bureau in identifying and ordering into Federal service the appropriate members and units of the National Guard under this authority. The members and units of the National Guard called into Federal service shall be at least 2,000 National Guard personnel and the duration of duty shall be for 60 days or at the discretion of the Secretary of Defense. In addition, the Secretary of Defense may employ any other members of the regular Armed Forces as necessary to augment and support the protection of Federal functions and property in any number determined appropriate in his discretion.

To carry out this mission, the deployed military personnel may perform those military protective activities that the Secretary of Defense determines are reasonably necessary to ensure the protection and safety of Federal personnel and property The Secretary of Defense shall consult with the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security prior to withdrawing any personnel from any location to which they are sent. The Secretaries of Defense and Homeland Security may delegate to subordinate officials of their respective Departments any of the authorities conferred upon them by this memorandum.

DONALD J. TRUMP

Also, same date, from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt

"In recent days, violent mobs have attacked ICE Officers and Federal Law Enforcement Agents carrying out basic deportation operations in Los Angeles, California. These operations are essential to halting and reversing the invasion of illegal criminals into the United States. In the wake of this violence, California's feckless Democrat leaders have completely abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens. That is why President Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to address the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester. The Trump Administration has a zero tolerance policy for criminal behavior and violence, especially when that violence is aimed at law enforcement officers trying to do their jobs. These criminals will be arrested and swiftly brought to justice. The Commander-in-Chief will ensure the laws of the United States are executed fully and completely."
Some corrupt federal judge has most likely already countermanded this executive action. We just haven't heard the details on THAT yet this weekend.

It emphasizes that modern warfare is no longer limited to traditional fronts and territorial gains, but is becoming a process in which not only tactical decisions are important, but also the ability to adapt to changing conditions. Ukraine is viewed as a testing ground for new strategies that can be applied in future conflicts, especially against countries such as Russia and China.

The report focuses on the concepts of decentralization, camouflage, and flexibility. RAND argues that traditional centralized military structures are becoming vulnerable, and the emphasis is shifting to the use of small autonomous groups and technologies such as drones.

War is now perceived as controlled chaos, where success depends not on the outright destruction of the enemy, but on the ability to disorient him and control the narrative. This leads to the need for constant adaptation and rethinking of approaches to warfare.

In conclusion, the report emphasizes that the West must prepare for long-term conflicts, where victory is not the end goal, but rather a process of managing the adversary's vulnerabilities. The conflict in Ukraine has become not just a temporary incident, but a new standard for future wars, where control over the perception and interpretation of events becomes a key element of strategy.

Thus, RAND offers a new architecture for understanding and waging war in conditions of global instability, where chaos becomes a resource of power.

14,000 people injured during Eid al-Adha sacrifices in Turkey
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] More than 14,000 people in Turkey suffered from injuries sustained while slaughtering sacrificial animals on the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday, the country's Health Minister Kemal Memisoglu said on June 7.

“On the first day of Eid al-Adha, a total of 14,372 people in 81 provinces sought medical treatment in our medical institutions,” he wrote on the social network X.

Thus, 1,049 people were injured in Ankara, 753 in Istanbul, 655 in Konya, 634 in Gaziantep, and 572 in Manisa, according to the publication. Memisoglu also reminded that the relevant rites should be carried out by professionals.

Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayram) is the Feast of Sacrifice, marking the end of the Hajj, an annual pilgrimage to the holy sites of Islam in Saudi Arabia. It is celebrated on the tenth day of the 12th month of the lunar calendar. The holiday is dedicated to the Prophet Ibrahim.

According to legend, in a dream, the Almighty asked the man to sacrifice his only son, Ismail, who was born when the man was already 86 years old. And Ibrahim went with his son to the valley of Mina to fulfill the will of Allah. When the son and father wanted to do what they had planned, the Almighty came down from heaven and stopped Ibrahim, saying that he had proven his obedience.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, in 2024, during the sacrifices on the Muslim holiday, about 16 thousand residents of Turkey received serious cuts and other injuries. The largest number of people suffered in Ankara (1274), Istanbul (840) and Izmir (416).

Heavy rain and hail hit cities in Moscow region
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Moscow Region towns of Mytishchi, Korolev and Pushkino were hit by a heavy downpour with hail. Photos and videos of the aftermath of the disaster have spread online.

In particular, the footage published in Telegram channels shows heavy rain falling on city streets, with hail falling to the ground along with the drops at times. The hailstones in the photo are large, and handfuls can easily be collected in the palm of your hand.

It is noted that the bad weather has hit Pushkino, Mytishchi and Korolev. The Ministry of Emergency Situations also called on residents of the Moscow region not to park cars near trees and to refrain from walking.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, earlier the Russian Hydrometeorological Center reported that an orange weather alert level would be declared in Moscow from June 7 to 10 due to heat of +30…32 ℃. At the same time, forecasters specified that the weather would be unstable and short-term rains and thunderstorms are quite possible during these days.

Boko Haram Destroyed: Air Strikes Kill Terrorists

strongholds in Borno State, neutralising several terrorists.

The service also said the airstrikes crippled hard boyz logistics infrastructure ahead of the Eid celebrations.

According to a statement on Saturday, by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the airstrikes were conducted under Operation HADIN KAI on June 5 and 6, targeting terrorist enclaves in Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia, located in the Southern Tumbuns region of the state.

The strikes, which he said followed credible intelligence reports, were aimed at structures used by the bully boyz for storage and operational coordination.

Fifty Nigerian Christians Gunned Down by Fulani Militias
[GENOCIDEWATCH] At least 50 civilians—many of them Christians—have been confirmed dead and hundreds displaced after heavily armed militias, identified by witnesses as ethnic Fulani
... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity...
, launched coordinated attacks on Munga Lelau and Munga Dasso, two farming communities in Karim-Lamido County, Taraba State,
…in northeastern Nigeria…
between May 24 and 25, 2025.

At least 23 of the dear departed have been identified as members of a local United Methodist Church, TruthNigeria has learned.

Bishop Ande Emmanuel, Resident Bishop of the United Methodist Church (UMC) Nigeria Episcopal Area, confirmed at least 30 Christian deaths, including 24 UMC members, between May 23 and 25.

''Over 62 homes were burned. Churches in Munga Lelau, Magami, Dosso, Bunkabu, Bunkachi, and Ngurore Jabu were reduced to rubble. We mourn and call for urgent help,'' the Bishop stated in a report.

He appealed for both national and international intervention, demanding stronger protections for vulnerable rural populations.

SECTARIAN ASSAULTS OR LAND-DISPUTE CLASHES?
Described by survivors as a planned, ethnically motivated military-style operation, the assaults mirror a troubling pattern of violence across Nigeria's Middle Belt, where disputes over land, religion, and ethnic identity often erupt into mass killings.

''THEY CAME IN DROVES''
Emmanuel Habila, a Christian farmer and father of three from Munga Lelau, told TruthNigeria:

''I was planting far from the village when I heard gunfire—first distant, then close. I saw dozens of cycle of violences, each with three gunnies, shouting in Fulfulde and shooting as they rode in. Hours later, my house was gone. We counted at least 15 bodies—children, neighbors. More are missing.''
The Fulani needed to restock their slave pens as well as their pantries, it appears.
In nearby Munga Dasso, Zachary Kefas (52) described a pre-dawn assault:

''They arrived around 2 a.m. on more than 30 cycle of violences. They had AK-49s and machetes and screamed, 'Kill the infidels! Allahu Akbar! We will take over this land!' They broke into homes, slaughtered women, children, and the elderly. It lasted two hours before security forces arrived—too late.''

TARGETED CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES
Munga Lelau and Munga Dasso are predominantly Christian agrarian villages, home to indigenous Jenjo, Wurkum, Bikwin, and Kona ethnic groups. Faith life revolves around churches including the United Methodist Church (UMC), ECWA, Baptist, and Catholic parishes.

Residents depend on subsistence farming, fishing, and trade supported by the Benue River. The attacks not only have killed and injured civilians but also destroyed farms, churches, and homes—further destabilizing these already vulnerable communities.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
UNCOVERED: An underground tunnel route beneath the European Hospital in Khan Yunis, Gaza
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

IDF believes it found body of Hamas leader Muhammad Sinwar in tunnel under Gaza hospital

[IsraelTimes] Sinwar was killed in May strike; 12 reported killed in Khan Younis tent camp, 6 killed near aid site

The Israel Defense Forces believes it may have located the body of Hamas leader Muhammad Sinwar, who was killed in an Israeli strike on a tunnel system last month, military officials said Saturday.

IDF troops operating in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis located the bodies of several terror operatives in the past day who were killed in the May 13 strike on a tunnel beneath the European Hospital, the military officials stated.

The IDF believed that one of the bodies may belong to Sinwar.

The IDF on Saturday confirmed that troops were operating inside Hamas tunnels in the area of the European Hospital, publishing footage of one of them.

“During the activity, IDF troops reached an underground route that was struck three weeks ago, where Muhammad Sinwar and other terrorists were located. Bodies of terrorists who have not yet been identified were located in the area,” the military said.

The IDF said it also located several findings “that prove the cynical use made by the Hamas terror organization of the hospital as a shield for its operations.”

The military said the tunnel featured command and control rooms, weapons, and other intelligence materials. The tunnel was used by the terror group as one of its main command centers during the October 7 onslaught, the IDF said.

“Throughout the war, the IDF has repeatedly exposed the use of hospitals across the Gaza Strip by the Hamas terror organization for terror activity and as hiding places for senior members of Hamas’s military wing,” the military said.

The IDF said the tunnel “is located directly beneath the European Hospital in Khan Younis and was also built by Hamas.”

The IDF published on Saturday the identities of two Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives killed in an Israeli airstrike on a hospital in Gaza City on Thursday, saying the pair were “operating under the guise of journalists.” The strike on Thursday hit a press compound in the courtyard of the Al-Ma’amadani Hospital, also known as Al-Ahli, killing journalists Suleiman Hajaj, Samir al-Rifai, Ismail Badah, and Ahmed Qaljah, according to Palestinian media. The IDF said Thursday that the compound was used by Islamic Jihad operatives to plan and carry out attacks on troops and Israeli civilians. Hajaj, according to the IDF, was a deputy commander of an Islamic Jihad engineering cell, and al-Rifai was also a member of the terror group. The military does not comment on the other two reported fatalities.

12 REPORTED KILLED IN OVERNIGHT STRIKE ON TENT CAMP
Palestinian media reported Saturday that 12 people were killed and some 40 were wounded in an overnight strike on a tent camp for displaced Gazans in the Khan Younis area. The reports cited a medical source at Nasser Hospital.

There was no immediate comment from the IDF on the strike.

Separately, Hamas-run civil defense agency spokesman Mahmud Bassal told AFP that at around 7:00 a.m. (0400 GMT), “six people were killed and several others wounded by the forces of the Israeli occupation near the Al-Alam roundabout.”

Gazans have gathered at the roundabout almost daily since late May to collect humanitarian aid from the Gaza Humanitarian Fund aid center about one kilometer (a little over half a mile) away. AFP was unable to independently verify the tolls compiled by the agency or the circumstances of the deaths it reports. The Israeli military told AFP that troops had fired “warning shots” at individuals that it said were “advancing in a way that endangered the troops.”

Samir Abu Hadid, who was there early Saturday, told AFP that thousands of people had gathered near the roundabout.

“As soon as some people tried to advance towards the aid center, the Israeli occupation forces opened fire from armored vehicles stationed near the center, firing into the air and then at civilians,” Abu Hadid said.

The GHF said it wasn’t able to operate on Saturday due to Hamas threats targeting its staff. The group’s statement didn’t provide any further information on the threats, but a GHF spokesperson said they were directed at the foundation’s drivers and the local Gazan staff helping operate the distribution sites.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel orders forced removal of tens of thousands of northern Gaza civilians
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Israeli occupation army Saturday ordered the forcible evacuation of tens of thousands of civilians in northern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage.
Local sources said the evacuation order targeted the Abdul Rahman neighborhood in northwest Gaza City and the al-Nahda neighborhood in Jabalia refugee camp.
”We’re about to go kinetic here, so we’re warning you to get out of the way so you’ll be safe. If you stay, whatever happens to you is your own, stupid fault.”
Residents of these areas are previously displaced civilians who had been forced to flee northern Gaza to the south at the start of the genocidal war, before being temporarily allowed to return.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as of May 28, 81% of Gaza's territory had been declared Israeli military zones or placed under evacuation orders.
They were warned the IDF would take at least 75% of Gaza, since Hamas refuses to return the hostages, disarm, and decamp for parts beyond the horizon. So long as Hamas continues fighting and endangering Gaza’s civilians, Hamas chooses to grind the civilians between themselves and the IDF — blame the party actually responsible for their misery.
OCHA added that since the resumption of the Israeli aggression on March 18, the army has issued 31 evacuation orders, covering about 229.4 square kilometers of Gaza, orders that remain in effect.

A recent report by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Paleostine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that at least 1.9 million people, or nearly 90% of Gaza's population, have been displaced during the ongoing aggression, many of them repeatedly, with some forced to flee ten times or more

Hamas warns that IDF attack threatens life of Israeli captive Matan Zangauker

Abu Obeida revealed that Israeli occupation forces are surrounding a location where Israeli captive Matan Zangauker is being held, however, he warned in a statement on his Telegram channel today that Israeli troops would not be able to retrieve him alive, holding the Israeli military fully responsible if he is killed during any rescue attempt.

In the meantime, Paleostinian Resistance® factions continue to face Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, launching various operations against Israeli troops across the Strip. The al-Quds Brigades announced they shelled a gathering of Israeli soldiers and vehicles advancing near the eastern Satar area, northeast of Khan Younis, with a barrage of 60mm mortar shells.

Additionally, the al-Quds Brigades announced that its fighters had successfully ambushed yesterday an Israeli unit that was sheltering inside a house in Tal al-Zaatar, east of the Jabalia refugee camp.

The al-Mujahideen Brigades, on its part, revealed that its fighters, upon returning from the frontlines, confirmed they had targeted a gathering of ''Zionist enemy forces'' east of al-Shujaiya in northern Gaza with mortar shells, inflicting direct casualties. The brigades stated that Israeli forces had confirmed at least one soldier was maimed in the attack.

The Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades announced that its fighters, upon returning from combat, confirmed they had successfully targeted gatherings of Zionist enemy forces stationed north of Beit Lahia with two 107mm rockets. They framed the operation as part of their ongoing response to the occupation's crimes against their people.

Hamas issues new photo of hostage Matan Zangauker

[IsraelTimes] Hamas on Saturday published a new photo of hostage Matan Zangauker, claiming Israeli troops were “besieging” the area where he was being held in Gaza and threatening to execute him should troops come near.

The military stressed in a statement that no attempt had been made to extract Zangauker.

In the image, Zangauker is propped up on his side as a blanket covers his lower body, while an IV drip bag can be seen in the background.

“We affirm that the enemy will not be able to recover him alive. We have preserved his life for 20 months; if this prisoner is killed during an attempt to free him, the occupation army will be the one responsible for his death,” said Hudhaifa Kahlout — known by the nom de guerre Abu Obeida — the spokesman for Hamas’s military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades.
”He’s a human shield, O Yahoods. To get to us you will go through him, dead or alive.”
“This is a final warning,” he added.

The photo was published amid intensified military operations throughout Gaza, as negotiations for a new ceasefire and hostage release deal continue.

Channel 12 reported in May that Zangauker was struggling to stand on his own and was suffering from ongoing intestinal problems and stomach pains. The report was based on an account by released American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander, who was held alongside him.

It was reported at the time that Zangauker has gone through long periods of closing himself off in a corner of the tunnel where he is held, refusing to speak or eat, and suffers from shakes and weakness due to muscular atrophy.

Zangauker was kidnapped on October 7, 2023, from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz, alongside his girlfriend, Ilana Gritzewsky. Gritzewsky was released on November 30, 2023, as part of a temporary ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel.

Hamas has previously said it would execute hostages if Israeli troops were seen approaching areas where they are being held. In August 2024, Hamas murdered six hostages in Rafah as Israeli forces operated nearby, though the troops were unaware of the hostages’ presence. Their bodies were found a few days after their executions.

Military officials have repeatedly said that every strike and ground operation in Gaza is carefully planned out in order not to endanger Israeli hostages, based on Israeli intelligence.

New Russian navigation system
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the Telegram channel of aviasalonmaks

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] Russia has created a navigation system that does not require satellite communications and is protected from electronic warfare.

It is reported that the device created by the RosEl holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation) is an improved modification of the small-sized Doppler speed and drift angle meter (DISS).

The company noted the following improvements:

  • Increased strength;

  • Increased accuracy of readings;

  • Energy consumption reduced by 4 times;

  • Multiple reduction in size;

  • Reduction in device weight by 90%.

The main advantage of the new system is that it does not require satellite communications for navigation. This makes it an excellent choice for installation on aircraft operating in regions where there are difficulties with satellite communications or there is a risk of signal suppression by electronic warfare.

RosEl emphasized that work on the device began in 2020 and that today it has already passed flight tests and is ready for serial production.

An interesting solution for large drones, which with such a device will be less dependent on the shortcomings of our orbital satellite group, which will be able to provide full coverage no earlier than 2030. And of course there is the question of the cost of the product, which is extremely important in matters of installing such devices on drones.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iranian media claims Tehran acquired trove of sensitive Israeli nuclear files
Did they really? But if they did, were they meant to?
[IsraelTimes] Outlets assert thousands of sensitive documents obtained in operation conducted by two Israelis arrested in May for spying; no evidence provided

Iranian and pro-Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
media outlets claimed Saturday that Tehran had obtained a vast trove of "strategic and sensitive" Israeli intelligence, including files related to Israel’s nuclear facilities and defense plans.

No evidence was provided to support the claims.

"Iran’s intelligence apparatus has obtained a vast quantity of strategic and sensitive information and documents belonging to the Zionist regime," according to state TV.

The report, which was also carried by the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese outlet al-Mayadeen and Iran’s Tasnim news agency, didn’t include any details on the documents.

The intelligence ostensibly included "thousands of documents related to the regime’s nuclear plans and facilities."

According to state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
, "the data haul was extracted during a covert operation" and included a "vast volume of materials — including documents, images, and videos."
”There was this archive warehouse, see, and we found it and broke in — only they never noticed, see — and we loaded it all onto trucks, files and memory sticks and floppy disks and all, and drove out across the border before anyone noticed…”
Come to think of it, that does seem rather improbable.
The report said the data was thoroughly reviewed by Iranian authorities after being securely transferred to the country.

The state broadcaster claimed that the operation took place "some time ago," but media silence was maintained due to the volume of intelligence gathered and the need to securely transfer it.

According to Tasnim, a semi-official Iranian media outlet closely affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the intelligence was gathered and transferred by Roy Mizrahi and Almog Atias, two Israelis arrested by Israeli police in May on suspicion of collecting intelligence on behalf of Iran.

The two were arrested for gathering intelligence in the town of Kfar Ahim — where Defense Minister Israel Katz lives — in what officials have called the most recent case in a widening Iranian espionage campaign inside Israel.

Mizrahi and Atias, both 24 and residents of Nesher near Haifa, were detained in late April following a joint investigation by the Shin Bet and the Israel Police’s Lahav 433 major crimes unit.

Officials said Mizrahi maintained contact with Iranian operatives throughout 2025 and carried out a series of security-related missions, some alongside Atias, fully aware they were acting under Iranian direction.

One mission included transferring a bag that was buried in the ground, believed to contain an bomb, from one location to another at the instruction of Iranian handlers.

Mizrahi reportedly used a newly acquired phone and an encrypted messaging app to maintain covert communication with his contacts.

"This case joins a series of recent incidents that point to persistent efforts by hostile terrorist and intelligence entities to recruit Israeli citizens to carry out missions intended to harm the security of the State of Israel and its citizens," a security official said at the time.

In recent years, Iranian intelligence operatives have ramped up efforts to recruit ordinary Israelis as spies in exchange for money.

Last December, police arrested nearly 30 Israelis, mostly Jewish citizens, for espionage activities on behalf of Iran.

In most of those cases, the suspects began by carrying out small, innocuous tasks that gradually grew into more serious offenses, like intelligence gathering and liquidation plots.
