Chicago-area city revokes pride parade permit over lack of officers to work event after ban on police uniforms
[FOX] A suburban Chicago city has revoked the special permit for an upcoming gay pride parade over security staffing concerns following a spat in which local authorities were told that police officers would not be allowed to march in uniform.

The group running the Aurora Pride Parade had been working with the Aurora Police Department to come up with a safety plan for the privately-run event, but a police spokesperson told Fox Chicago the department couldn't make it work.

The city said organizers had failed to meet the required number of law enforcement officers to secure the event.

"Based on the inability of the Aurora Pride board to retain the number of law enforcement officers required to ensure the public health and welfare of participants and spectators the Aurora Pride Parade (70% of which were already provided by the Aurora Police Department), and on the recommendation from the Aurora Police Department that the parade cannot be held without satisfying these safety requirements, the City of Aurora has issued a Notice of Revocation to Aurora Pride," the city said in a statement.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran says it’s starting up new centrifuges, claims IAEA ‘hostage to Zionist regime’
[IsraelTimes] Amid global tensions with the West over its nuclear activity, Iran’s atomic agency chief announced that it has begun injecting gas into newly installed advanced uranium enrichment centrifuges.

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, who made the announcement during an interview with Iranian national TV on Thursday, claimed the decision was in line with international regulations.

Eslami did not specify where the centrifuges in question were located. But his announcement came on the same day the UN’s nuclear watchdog reported that Tehran had informed it of its plan to install two new cascades of advanced centrifuges at the underground Natanz nuclear facility that will allow it to rapidly enrich more uranium.

The moves come as countries at an ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency meeting in Vienna voted Wednesday night to censure Iran. The rebuke deals with what the watchdog refers to as Iran’s failure to provide "credible information" over man-made nuclear material found at three undeclared sites in the country.

But even before the vote, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
shut off two devices the IAEA uses to monitor enrichment at Natanz. Then, on Thursday, the IAEA reported that Iran is removing 27 surveillance cameras from nuclear sites around the country, raising the risk of its inspectors being unable to track Tehran’s advances as it enriches uranium closer than ever to weapons-grade levels.

Rafael Mariano Grossi, the IAEA director-general, warned that in three to four weeks, it would be unable to maintain a "continuity of knowledge" about Iran’s program. "This would be a fatal blow" to negotiations over Iran’s tattered nuclear deal with world powers, Grossi said.

Iranian officials also threatened to take more steps amid a years-long crisis.

"In the last 20 years, all the methods, behaviors, psychological operations, sanctions, and resolutions that they have exercised and imposed have been in line with the policy of stopping the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran," Eslami said during Thursday’s interview regarding the IAEA censure.

"It is regrettable that an international institution has been exploited by an illegitimate regime and its reputation has been destroyed," he said, accusing the UN agency of being "hostage to the Zionist regime."

Asked about the decision to disconnect the IAEA monitoring devices, Eslami said: "We kept the cameras in place in accordance with the [nuclear deal] to show our goodwill, but now that false and unacceptable accusations have been made against Tehran, the recent decision was made."

Iran and world powers agreed in 2015 to the nuclear deal, which saw Tehran drastically limit its enrichment of uranium in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions. In 2018, then-US president Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
unilaterally withdrew America from the accord, raising tensions across the wider Middle East and sparking a series of attacks and incidents.

Talks in Vienna over Iran’s tattered nuclear deal have been stalled since April. Since the deal’s collapse, Iran has been running advanced centrifuges and has a rapidly growing stockpile of enriched uranium.

Nonproliferation experts warn Iran has enriched enough up to 60 percent purity — a short technical step from weapons-grade levels of 90% — to make one nuclear weapon should it decide to do so.

Iran insists its program is for peaceful purposes, though UN experts and Western intelligence agencies say Iran had an organized military nuclear program through 2003.

‘Stop white genocide’: Neo-Nazi rally outside German synagogue on attack anniversary
Cowards. If they really meant it they'd protest in front of a mosque.
[IsraelTimes] Rabbi says group may have been celebrating attempt by Ottoman Turkish-German dual national to set house of worship on fire; local residents told far-right group to leave

Men flying banners with far-right symbols gathered outside a synagogue in Germany on the anniversary of its attempted torching, allegedly by a Ottoman Turkish citizen.

Gathering June 5 in Ulm near Munich, about 10 men displayed one banner reading: "White lives matter, stop the White genocide." Another banner depicted the black sun symbol, which is popular among neo-Nazi
...adherents of a philosophy that was seen even at the time as pure evil, which makes them either consciously and purely evil, or attention-seeking ratbags. Pick one, or both....
s.

Local non-Jews confronted the demonstrators and made them leave the scene, according to T-Deutschland.

The date of the event was the one-year anniversary of the attempted arson at the synagogue, which authorities say was perpetrated by a 45-year-old dual citizen of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
and Germany. He poured gasoline on the facade and set it ablaze. Rapid intervention by neighbors and firefighters prevented the flames from spreading into the building.

The suspect fled Germany and is hiding in Turkey, which is refusing to extradite him.

T-Deutschland said this week’s demonstration may have been intended to celebrate the arson attempt. The local congregation’s rabbi, Shnuer Trebnik, did not rule out the possibility that the neo-Nazi gathering was to celebrate the actions of the Ottoman Turkish runaway.

"We experience so many absurdities, it’s possible. They might have a common interest," he told T-Deutschland. Far-right forces of Evil are generally hostile both to Jews and to immigrants colonists from Moslem-majority countries.

Police are investigating the incident outside the synagogue.

In 2021, German authorities recorded 3,027 antisemitic incidents, a 29% increase over the 2,351 incidents recorded in 2020, a report by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution said.

As in previous reports, the government report said that the vast majority of incidents were attributable to neo-Nazis.

Leading watchdogs on antisemitism, including the Berlin-based RIAS, have disputed this assertion, which they say is based on faulty methodology in the government’s reports.

UK government cuts ties with imam over protests against film on Muhammad’s daughter
Follow up to this story from yesterday. Movie trailer can be seen at the link.
[IsraelTimes] Officials accuse Qari Asim of attempting to limit free expression after rallies against screenings, as well as inciting anti-Shiite hate

The UK government on Saturday dismissed a Moslem holy man from his role as an official adviser, accusing him of fomenting protests against a new film about the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad.

Alleging "The Lady of Heaven" is blasphemous, Moslem groups protested outside UK movie houses this week, forcing the world’s second-largest cinema chain to cancel all screenings.

Cineworld’s announcement came after Qari Asim, a holy man and lawyer in the northern English city of Leeds, posted on Facebook Monday that the film had "caused much pain and hurt to Moslems."

While noting that his own group had not taken part in protests, and expressing support for freedom of speech, Asim publicized details of one protest in Leeds coming up that evening.

In a letter to Asim, the government said the Facebook post was incompatible with his status as deputy chair of an official working group on anti-Moslem hatred.

Terminating the appointment "with immediate effect," the government said the campaign against the film "has led to street protests which have fomented religious hatred."

"This clear involvement in a campaign to limit free expression is incompatible with the role of a government adviser," it added, alleging the campaign had incited anti-Shiite hatred by Sunnis.

There was no immediate comment from Asim, who also served as an independent advisor to the government on Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
until his dismissal.

The drama is billed as the first film on the life of the Prophet Muhammad’s daughter Fatimah, and draws links between the Islamic State

group in the 21st century and historical figures in Sunni Islam.

Malik Shlibak, executive producer of the film, complained to The Guardian newspaper that cinema chains were "crumbling to the pressure."

Violence over Prophet remark: 255 arrested as cops bring out bulldozers to raze house of violence accused
[OneIndia] The Uttar Pradesh cops have arrested 304 people across the state in connection with violence over the controversial comments by the BJP leaders on Prophet Muhammad.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar, in a statement, said that 13 FIRs have been filed in the state. 91 people have been arrested in Prayagraj, 71 Saharanpur, 51 in Hathras, 34 in Ambedkarnagar, 34 in Moradabad, 15 in Firozabad, six in Aligarh and two in Jalaun under the stringent National Security Act (NSA).

The Saharanpur cops have already shared clips of teams from the municipal department crushing the homes of the two accused for disrupting peace and social harmony. The clips show the houses of accused Muzammil and Abdul Waqir being razed by the bulldozers claiming that those buildings were illegally constructed, NDTV reported.

"Strictest action will be taken against the anti-social elements involved in the chaotic efforts to spoil the atmosphere in various cities in the past few days," Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a warning said. "There is no place for such anti-social people in a civilised society. No innocent should be harassed, but not a single guilty should be spared," he said on Twitter.

The UP CM's media advisor Mrityunjay Kumar said, "Unruly elements remember, every Friday is followed by a Saturday" and shared a photo of a bulldozer demolishing a building.

On Friday, people pelted stones at police personnel in Prayagraj and Saharanpur during their protests after Friday prayers in mosques. At least four other cities witnessed similar scenes during the marches that were carried out to protest against the controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad made by now-suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, PTI reported.

In Prayagraj, the mob set on fire a few cycle of violences and carts and also attempted to set ablaze a police vehicle. Police used tear gas and lathis to disperse the protesters and restored peace, police said. One police personnel was injured, they said.

Nupur Sharma was suspended by her party as several Islamic nations denounced her comments on the Prophet during a TV debate.

In Saharanpur, protesters shouted slogans against Sharma and demanded the death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
for her.

There were protests in Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur and Lucknow.

Soldier martyred during exchange of fire with terrorists in North Waziristan: ISPR
[Dawn] A Pakistain Army soldier was martyred during an "intense exchange of fire" with Lions of Islam in the Datta Khel area of North Wazoo tribal district, the military's media affairs wing said on Sunday.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the exchange of fire took place between Lions of Islam and Pakistain Army troops during which the latter "fought bravely and effectively engaged the terrorists' location".

However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
Sepoy Shahzaib Imtiaz embraced martyrdom after "having fought gallantly", the ISPR said, adding that he was 25-years-old and a resident of Kotli Sattian.

"Area clearance is being carried out to eliminate any Lions of Islam found in the area," the statement concluded.

Earlier this month, security forces killed four Lions of Islam during operations in North Waziristan tribal district and Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
’s Noshki district.

According to the ISPR, two bad boyz were potted during an exchange of fire with the security forces in the Hassankhel area of Mirali tehsil in North Waziristan. Arms and ammunition were seized from the possession of the dead Lions of Islam who, according to the ISPR statement, were involved in subversive activities.

Meanwhile,
...back at the laboratory the smoke and fumes had dispersed, to reveal an ominous sight...
two more bad boyz were potted during an operation in Parodh area of Noshki district. Sources said the Lions of Islam tried to escape from their hideout and opened fire on security forces. During the exchange of fire, two Lions of Islam allegedly belonging to the banned Baloch Republic Army were killed.

Caribbean-Latin America
Sanctions-hit Iran, Venezuela sign 20-year cooperation deal
The lame teams up with the halt for the three-legged race.
[Rudaw] Iran
...They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and Venezuela
...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south...
signed a 20-year deal on cooperation between the two allies subject to US sanctions during a visit Saturday to the Islamic republic by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro
...Commie el presidente para la vida of Venezuela, successor to Hugo Chavez. Nick is his country's attempt at producing a Muammar Qadaffy, except that even though his country's sitting on an enormous puddle of oil, he can't manage to get it out of the ground. Unlike Qadaffy and Hugo Chavez, he's not dead yet...
The inking of the agreement "shows the determination of the high-level officials of the two countries for development of relations in different fields," Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said.

Maduro, speaking at a joint news conference in Tehran, said the cooperation covered the energy and financial sectors as well as "work together on defence projects".

Alongside the likes of Russia, China, Cuba and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
, Iran is one of Venezuela's main allies. And like Venezuela it is subject to tough US sanctions.

"Venezuela has passed hard years but the determination of the people, the officials and the president of the country was that they should resist the sanctions," Raisi said during the news conference.

"This is a good sign that proves to everyone that resistance will work and will force the enemy to retreat," the Iranian president added.

In addition to the 20-year accord inked by the two countries' foreign ministers, "Iran and Venezuela signed documents on cooperation in the political, cultural, tourism, economic, oil and petrochemical fields," state news agency IRNA said.

"We have important projects of cooperation between Iran and Venezuela in the fields of energy, petrochemical, oil, gas and refineries," Maduro said.

- DIRECT FLIGHTS -
From July 18, direct flights would operate between Caracas and Tehran "in order to promote tourism and the union between our countries," he said, adding that "Venezuela is open to receive tourists from Iran".

Iran's president said direct flights would pave the way for enhanced "trade and economic relations as well as bringing the two nations closer together".

The two presidents took part via videoconference in a ceremony marking the delivery of the second of four Iranian-built oil tankers to Venezuela, IRNA reported.

Ties between the two oil producers were strong under late Venezuelan socialist leader Hugo Chavez and have been further bolstered under his successor Maduro.

In May, Iran's Oil Minister Javad Owji met with Maduro during an official visit to Venezuela, which sits on the world's largest proven crude reserves.

Owji also held talks with his Venezuelan counterpart Tareck El Aissami on how best to cope with US economic sanctions.

The oil minister's trip to Venezuela came just weeks after a surprise visit by US officials following the sharp rise in world oil prices triggered by Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February.

The US delegation even held a hushed meeting with Maduro, whose very legitimacy as president Washington disputes.

Iran is a major oil producer and said in April that its output capacity was back to the levels seen before the reimposition of US sanctions by president Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
in 2018.

In 2020, Venezuela received two shiploads of fuel and derivatives from Iran to help address chronic domestic shortages.

Iran is the third country Maduro has visited this week after trips to Turkey and Algeria.

Over 20 terrorists arrested in cooperation with Kurdish forces in 2022: Iraqi spox
[Rudaw] Coordination between the Iraqi counter-terrorism service (CTS) and the Kurdistan Region's counter-terrorism units has resulted in the arrest of at least 21 "high-profile" bully boyz since the start of the year, the spokesperson for the Iraqi CTS told Rudaw on Saturday, adding that he disagrees with the notion that there has been an increase in Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. (ISIS) activities in the country.

"Since the start of the year to this day, more than 21 high-profile members of terrorist organizations have been arrested through this coordination and intelligence cooperation between the [Iraqi] counter-terrorism service and the Sulaimani and Erbil counter-terrorism," Sabah al-Numan, spokesperson for the Iraqi CTS told Rudaw’s Rozhan Abubakir.

The services have cooperated together on more than 10 missions this year, according to Numan, adding that the arrestees were captured in the provinces of Sulaimani and Erbil, and were mostly Iraqi nationals.

The spokesperson disagreed with the claim that there has been a spike in ISIS operations in recent months, stating that the Death Eater group has been conducting "small" operations in areas far from the centers of the cities in ways that do not threaten the security of the country "according to our assessment."

In its propaganda magazine on Thursday, ISIS claimed to have conducted 12 attacks in Iraq from June 1 to June 7, killing and injuring 16 people.

security forces in northern Afghanistan's Panjshir province have unlawfully detained and tortured residents accused of association with an opposition gang," said Human Rights Watch.

The report said that security forces detain residents and beat them to glean information about the opposition group, which is "collective punishment."

"Taliban forces in Panjshir province have quickly resorted to beating civilians in their response to fighting against the opposition National Resistance® Front. The Taliban’s longstanding failure to punish those responsible for serious abuses in their ranks puts more civilians at risk," said Patricia Gossman, Associate Asia Director at Human Rights Watch.

"These violations are against human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
conventions and separate people from the government," said Aziz Stanekzai, Former Afghan Military.

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
the Islamic Emirate called the report unfounded.

"The allegations of torture and harassment are far from the truth and did not happen in Panjshir province," said Abobakr Sediq, front man for Panjshir’s governor.

Based on the report, a human rights advocate who interviewed several former detainees and a source with direct information about Islamic Emirate detentions spoke to Human Rights Watch about the Panjshir situation.

Afghan ‘Fighting Season’ Ushers in New Anti-Taliban Groups
[VOA] With the onset of the "fighting season" in Afghanistan, small pockets of anti-Taliban
...Arabic for students...
resistance appear to be forming across much of the country.

The development, coupled with a spike in deadly attacks by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
terrorist group, could threaten the Taliban's hold on power eight months after their takeover of Afghanistan.

In recent weeks, about a half-dozen previously unknown "resistance" groups have announced their existence, vowing to fight the Taliban alongside the National Resistance® Front, the only prominent anti-Taliban group.

The new groups have names such as the Afghanistan Freedom Front and the Afghanistan Islamic National & Liberation Movement. But beyond claims made on social media, little is known about their kinetic power.

Researchers who have studied the groups say while they all share the goal of toppling the Taliban’s eight-month-old government, they are hobbled by a lack of unity and coordination.

"It will take some coordination and unity to be able to have a more decisive effect in terms of contesting Taliban governance," said Peter Mills, Afghanistan researcher at the Institute for the Study of War, who recently published a study of anti-Taliban groups.

As a result, the anti-Taliban groups have been unable to coalesce into a broader resistance movement, said Jonathan Schroden, director of the Countering Threats and Challenges Program at the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA), a nonprofit research and analysis organization.

"In that regard, they still retain relatively low levels of capability overall," Schroden said.

But lack of coordination is not the only weakness preventing them from becoming an effective fighting force. Among other things, Death Eater groups require external support. Yet in contrast to the 1990s, when Russia, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
and India all backed the Northern Alliance against the Taliban, no country has rushed to the new anti-Taliban cause.

Consequently, in the short term, Schroden said, the groups will likely represent little more than "low-level annoyance" for the much-better-armed and numerically larger Taliban.

For their part, since routing the National Resistance® Front from the Panjshir Valley in September, the Taliban have largely dismissed these groups as opposition propaganda.

But insurgencies have a way of persisting for many years, experts say, and what may be a small, inchoate patchwork of cells today could turn into a full-blown, bloody insurgency.

In the long term, several factors could tip the scales in the fight, Schroden said: the anti-Taliban groups’ success in finding a "state sponsor," their ability to coalesce under a "common banner" and growing popular discontent with the Taliban regime.

Here is a look at the anti-Taliban groups:

National Resistance® Front of Afghanistan
Led by Ahmad Massoud, the son of the late Northern Alliance commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, the National Resistance® Front of Afghanistan (NRF) is the "most well-developed" of all the anti-Taliban outfits, said Mills, who estimates it has a few thousand fighters.

In addition to its homebase of the Panjshir Valley north of Kabul, the group operates in the nearby Andarab valley through an affiliate known as the Andarab Resistance® Front, a collection of small cells headed by local commanders who have declared loyalty to Massoud.

The two fronts sometimes "interoperate," Mills said.

"We know, for example, that the NRF was providing support and sending forces to work with the Andarab Resistance® Front and fighting in the Andarab," he said.

The NRF claims to operate in at least a dozen provinces, including Panjshir and Baghlan. In a recent interview with the London-based Afghanistan International Radio, Ali Maisam Nazary claimed the Taliban had "suffered repeated defeats in Panjshir, Andarab and other parts of the Hindu Kush mountains."

The claim could not be independently verified. But Mills said the NRF has demonstrated that "they’re able to hold some rural, remote kind of valley, some of this remote, rural mountainous terrain in places like Baghlan, parts of Takhar, Panjshir, parts of Badakhshan."

Afghanistan Freedom Front
This group popped up on March 11 when it announced its launch on Twitter and Facebook with the goal of "fighting for freedom of the country from occupation."

It has not disclosed its leadership, but recent reports have indicated that General Yasin Zia, a former defense minister and chief of general staff, is one of the Front's leaders.

Zia, who served as an aide to the late Ahmad Shah Massoud in the 1990s, could not be reached for comment.

In the weeks since the March announcement, the group has claimed attacks on Taliban targets in several provinces, from Badakhshan in the north to Kandahar in the south, offering as proof nighttime videos of fighting.

While the dark videos are not always easy to verify, "we know at least some of these attacks that are being claimed and discussed are real and are happening," Mills said.

One incident Mills said he was able to confirm was an April 8 video of a daytime hand grenade attack on a cop shoppe in Kandahar.

"We were able to see someone actually throwing a grenade into this cop shoppe in Kandahar," Mills said.

Afghanistan Islamic National & Liberation Movement
This is believed to be the only major Pashtun anti-Taliban group. Led by Abdul Mateen Sulaimankhail, a former Afghan Army special forces commander, the group launched on February 16. Sulaimankhail has said he set up the group in response to the Taliban’s alleged killings of former military personnel, calling their amnesty a "lie."

In an April 13 interview with the Afghanistan International TV network, Sulaimankhail claimed his group was engaged in "military and political activities" in 26 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces, a claim questioned by researchers. Citing security reasons, he declined to say how many members his group has.

The group has grabbed credit for attacks in its home base of Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
and several other provinces, but it has offered little proof of the attacks, with videos posted on the group’s Facebook page showing armed masked men indoors vowing to fight the Taliban.

While the group’s recent claim of killing a Taliban commander in Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
appears credible, Mills said its "actual capability seems to be limited."

Other groups
In recent weeks, small cells of self-styled anti-Taliban fighters affiliated with Tajik warlord Ata Mohammad Noor have appeared in videos purportedly shot in northern Afghanistan.

In a recent video, one of several masked gunnies describes them as members of the "high council of resistance," led by Noor, former Balkh province governor. The man then vows the group is prepared to launch "guerrilla attacks" as soon as they receive orders from Noor, who is believed to be living in exile in the United Arab Emirates.

Noor's nephew Sohail Zimaray was killed in a shootout with Taliban forces in the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif late Thursday, police said.

While the so-called "Noor guerillas" claim to be operating in every province in northern Afghanistan, Mills said he had "not seen them carry out any attacks or claim any attacks."

Other groups that have publicized their efforts in recent weeks include Freedom Corps, Liberation Front of Afghanistan, Liberation Front of Afghanistan, Soldiers of Hazaristan, Freedom and Democracy Front.

Libya capital rocked by heavy fighting between militias
[AlAhram] A night of festivities between militias in the heart of a residential district of the Libyan capital Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
raised fears on Saturday of escalating violence in the conflict-riven country.

The intense fighting that erupted late Friday between two influential militias left at least one person dead and caused significant material damage, a security source told AFP.

Gunfire and explosions rang out across Tripoli during the fighting, described by one resident as possibly the "heaviest" seen in the city for more than a decade.

It was the latest violence to rock the country as two rival prime ministers vie for power -- the most recent episode of political infighting to fill the power vacuum left after the toppling of longtime leader Moamer Qadaffy in 2011.

Footage aired by Libyan media showed civilians, including women pushing children in prams, fleeing on busy streets in a built-up area after being caught in the crossfire.

The fighting broke out in Souk Talat neighbourhood and pitted two militias, al-Nawasi and the Stability Support Apparatus, against one another, said the security source.

It came amid tensions following the arrest of fighters from both militias, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

"The festivities stopped after mediation by a neutral military force (Brigade 444), which deployed a number of its armoured vehicles" in the area of the fighting, he added.

A video released overnight showed Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah ordering members of the force to intervene to secure the area and protect civilians.

The source said there had been no civilian casualties, but cited "material damage".

‘CRIMINAL MILITIAS'
By Saturday, normality had largely been restored to the area, but the violence sparked renewed outrage among residents.

"This situation is unacceptable and it is unbearable for civilians to be caught in an ambush that puts their lives at risk because of the settling of scores by criminal militias," 25-year-old student Maha Mokhtar told AFP.

"What is the fault of these families who fled their homes?" she added.

Rida Said, another resident, said he had seen the fighting from his own balcony, describing the festivities as "perhaps the heaviest in our area since 2011".

"It was clear that they were firing randomly at civilian areas with a lot of buildings," the 67-year-old said.

"I was struck by panic and I feared for my children, who went out with their friends as they do every weekend... but thankfully they returned safely."

'SHOCKING & SHAMEFUL'
The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
's envoy to Libya, Jose Sabadell, on Saturday condemned the fighting as "shocking and shameful".

"Arms were fired at a park where children run and play. Public spaces in Tripoli belong to families, not to men with guns," he wrote on Twitter.

Last month, politician Fathi Bashagha attempted to seize power by force, sparking pre-dawn festivities between gangs supporting him and those backing interim premier Abdulhamid Dbeibah.

Dbeibah was appointed under a troubled UN-led grinding of the peace processor early last year to lead a transition to elections set for December 2021, but the vote was indefinitely postponed.

In February, parliament appointed Bashagha, a one-time interior minister, to take over, arguing that Dbeibah's mandate had ended.

But Dbeibah has insisted he will only relinquish power to an elected administration.

Man sentenced to death for murdering priest in Alexandria
[AlAhram] An Alexandria Criminal Court sentenced on Saturday a 60-year-old man to death for murdering Coptic Orthodox priest Arsanios Wadid last month in the Egyptian coastal city.

The court verdict was issued after the grand mufti — the country’s top Moslem legal authority — approved the punishment, as the mufti’s non-binding consultative opinion is legally required in death penalty
cases as per the Egyptian penal code.

The 56-year-old victim — a priest at the Church of the Virgin Mary and Mar Boulos — was stabbed to death on the evening of 7 April as he was walking along the Mediterranean corniche in Alexandria’s Sidi Bishr District.

The assailant was apprehended hours later and confessed to the crime.

The defendant later adjusted his confession, however, claiming that the knife found in his possession was just for self-defence and that he was not aware of what he was doing on the day of the incident, according to the prosecution.

The prosecution added that a mental health evaluation determined that the man showed no signs of a psychological disorder and was fully cognisant and possessed agency while committing the crime.

The prosecution also checked surveillance cameras at the scene of the crime and obtained the testimonies of 17 eyewitnesses.

Furthermore, the prosecution later learned that he had joined krazed killer groups and he had also previously served a 20-year prison sentence for joining an outlawed group.

Oddly enough, the suspect refused to be defended by a lawyer, choosing instead to simply deny the charges levelled against him.

On 18 May, the court referred a preliminary death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
for the defendant to the country’s mufti.

Today’s ruling is not final and can be appealed before the country’s Court of Cassation.

Ukrozazerkale - accused of lying previously officially accused of lying
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military blogger Andrey Chervonets

Kiev resident was arrested for telephone conversations with acquaintances, in which he disputed the facts of "murders and rapes" of the local population.

This was reported by the prosecutor's office in Kiev:

"The Podolsk District Prosecutor's Office proved that from March to April, a man, aware of the fact of the temporary occupation of part of the territory of our state by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, in telephone conversations with citizens of Ukraine denied the facts of murders and rapes of the civilian population of Ukraine by Russian military personnel, as well as committing crimes in the temporarily occupied territories, which can be considered a denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, launched in 2014."

By the verdict of the Podolsky District Court, the man was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to arrest.

I note that so far the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has not recorded any confirmed facts of rape. Denisova herself was fired for lying. Justifying why she was lying, Denisova explained that she wanted to provoke a sharp reaction from the Europeans so that they would actively help Ukraine.

Can we remember the Ukrofake, when a girl tortured by the Ukronazis in Mariupol, with a swastika carved by Ukrainian fascists on her body, was found almost live by an American journalist in the positions that had just been recaptured from the dungeons? Two weeks later, the liars of the UkroSMI portrayed her as allegedly "raped and killed by Russians in Gostomel." But this is a crime of "heroes of Ukraine".

As for the false accusations in Bucha. Let me remind you that experts, and Western ones, have already established that those killed on the street were killed by the shrapnel of a 122 howitzer shell in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is also an indisputable fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired on Russian troops leaving the city after the agreements in Turkey.

Regarding those who died in Bucha with a white ribbon and their hands tied behind their backs, people suffered for cooperation with the Russians. A Russian humanitarian aid lay next to the bodies, and white armbands are a distinctive symbol of the RF Armed Forces, as well as a sign of civilians, non-combatants. The Ukrainian policemen were ordered to shoot those without a blue armband on the street. This is captured on video.

Kramatorsk is generally beyond the bounds. Before the arrival of the highest European commissars, the Ukrovermacht fired at the city with Tochka-U, causing mass casualties among the civilian population at the railway station. "Tochka-U" is in service with the Ukrainian and has long been withdrawn from service in the RF Armed Forces. It is fixed that the missile came from the south-west, from the territory under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Morning Joe's Richard Haass: We Need To Get The Republican Party Back To Liz Cheney Republicanism
[REALCLEARPOLITICS] Richard Haass, the president of the Council on Foreign Relations, told 'Morning Joe' on Wednesday that Liz Cheney
...Faux Republican hereditary congresswoman-for-life from Wyoming. She has been described as Republican royalty. A staunch Never Trumper, Liz supported the second impeachment of Donald Trump for his role in the 2021 storming of the U.S. Capitol. Publicans dumped her from her leadership position in May 2021. Refusing to admit that she had trashed her own career, Cheney has said that she intends to be the leader... in a fight to help to restore our party and that she may be interested in a future presidential run....
Republicanism is conservative: "What we see today is that Republicans have ceased to be conservatives, and modern day Republicanism has become radicalism. It's become populist. And you're putting people and policies, what have you, preferences ahead of democracy, ahead of the country, ahead of the Constitution, ahead of our institutions. That, to me, is obviously an unbelievably dangerous departure. We no longer have -- we have, if you will, a progressive liberal party. We no longer have a conservative party. We have what's become a radical movement, a radical network in and out of the official party. That's something we've really never had to deal with in our history. And the question is, can we fete through it? Can we basically get to a point where Liz Cheney Republicanism, which by the way is extremely conservative in her policies, whether we can get back to the point that regains control of the Republican party? I don't know the answer to what. Obviously, we have an enormous stake in it. It gets a little to the point of these hearings, and I might slightly disagree with John and others. I'm not so sure that what we heard is an airtight legal case. I actually have doubts about it."

[GreaterKashmir] A Kashmiri YouTuber, whose video depicting the beheading of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma had gone viral on social media platforms, was arrested here on Saturday for breaching public tranquillity and causing fear in the public, police said.

Wani has deleted the video and apologised for it as well.

Before his arrest, Wani posted another video in which he said he did not have any intention of hurting the sentiments of people or any religion.

"YouTuber Faisal Wani has been arrested. He had uploaded an incriminating video on YouTube which is against public tranquillity and has caused fear and alarm to the public in general. The FIR has been registered under sections 505 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code at the Safa Kadal cop shoppe," police said.

Wani's arrest came after he deleted the viral video and issued an apology in a new video posted on his YouTube channel "Deep pain Fitness".

"I had uploaded a video last night about Nupur Sharma. It was a VFX video which went viral all over India and an innocent person like me got implicated. I never have any intention to hurt any other religion, because Islam teaches us to respect other religions," Wani said in the new video.

How Strange Helicopter Assisted Terrorists In Killing More Than 30 Persons — Kaduna Residents Lament
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Some residents of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State have fled their homes following Sunday’s attack that left no fewer than 32 people dead while others were maimed.

The Kaduna State Government through its Commissioner for International Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the attack.

According to Punch, it was gathered that the bloodthirsty Death Eaters attacked Ugwan Gamu, Dogon Noma, Ungwan Sarki, and Maikori villages near Maro in Kajuru LGA on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

This came less than 24 hours after Death Eaters kidnapped 14 persons at Iri Station, about 8km from Idon town, Idon Ward of the same Kajuru LGA.

It was learnt that the Death Eaters on Friday killed 25 locals but "as villagers comb surrounding bushes for corpses, seven decomposed bodies were found Monday morning."

A resident of one of the villages, who beat feet from the attack and who crave anonymity, said as the villagers were still nursing the pains of the abduction of their kinsmen and how to raise money for their release, when "the Death Eaters invaded a nearby communities twice, killing 25 persons."

The villager added, "The button men came twice and operated unhindered, they came sensing that there will be no threat from anybody. When some of our people were kidnapped by them on Saturday which had been the norm, we thought that was all for the day but we couldn’t sleep that night. It was hell," he added.

Another victim, who is temporary staying with a relative at Sabon Tasha in Chikun LGA of the state, noted that "our village (Maikori) is completely deserted. We came here since on Monday. We can no longer stay on our ancestral land. The Death Eaters come at any time, kidnap and demand ransom. We sold our farm produce to pay ransom every time."

He added that at Dogon Noma near Maro, more than 30 residents, among them women and kiddies were killed and several houses were razed by the terrorists.

He continued that "whenever the bandidos abduct our people, they will tell us that they are going to release the women and kill all the youths.

"We saw helicopter assisting the bandidos. Some of them are riding on cycle of violences, wielding AK-47 rifles. Some were wearing military uniforms. On market days, they will storm the market and collect phones. Even after payment of ransom, the bandidos will call and said they had released the victims, only for us to find the dead bodies."

The locals under aegis of Adara Development Association had earlier alleged that a helicopter aided the attackers who invaded the villages, including Ungwan Gamu, Dogon Noma, Ungwan Sarki and Maikori near Maro in Kajuru LGA.

The National President of the Association, Awemi Dio Maisamari, who disclosed in statement made available to journalists, said the attack started around noon on Sunday and lasted until around 6pm unchallenged.

The statement alleged that the attack was carried out by Death Eaters who came on about 150 cycle of violences carrying three AK-47-wielding persons each.

"To the horror of the natives, the white painted helicopter, faced the brave natives instead and started shooting at the youths from the air, clearly leaving out the killers who can be distinctly identified by the mode of dressings and from their positions," the statement said.

Russia braces for economic upheaval as sanctions start to bite
[AFP] Authorities have stopped releasing key data, making it difficult to assess the impact of sanctions.

But the few available economic indicators point to significant problems.

Strict capital controls, high energy prices and a collapse in imports have led to a surge in the ruble, prompting Russia's central bank to slash its key rate last week in a bid to rein in the currency.

And revenues from domestic value-added or sales tax collapsed by more than a half in April, VAT fees on imported goods dropping by a third compared to the same month in 2021.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Kim Foxx's husband calls 911 on her, claims she slapped him in alleged domestic dispute
[NYPOST] The husband of reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
’s top prosecutor Kim Foxx
...one of the so-called Soros DAs, though other Progressive billionaires also donate to the project...
accused her of slapping him at their home last weekend — prompting a police visit that ended with no arrests, a report said.

The Cook County State Attorney’s husband made the 911 call following the alleged June 4 feud at the couple’s suburban Flossmoor residence that was sparked over a social media post, according to police records obtained by WGN-TV.

Foxx’s husband told police "that Kimberly got mad about something that was posted on Facebook that he did," according to the police report. "Kimberly asked him to leave and he refused."

According to her husband, Foxx allegedly grabbed him by the collar and threw his video game controller to the ground, according to documents. He also alleged she slapped him on his left cheek.

Foxx told responding officers that "she did put hands on [her husband] but it was only to help guide him out of the house. She never slapped him."

The district attorney said her husband called police "only to hurt her," cops wrote in the report.

The couple’s 19-year-old daughter was home at the time of the incident but told police she only heard yelling.

Police wrote they "did not see any evidence to support an arrest in this incident," in their report, according to the outlet.

Colorado woman missing since 2018 found dead, stuffed in manhole at her home
[NYPOST] A Colorado woman’s lifeless body was found stuffed into a trash bag in a manhole in her home four years after she was reported missing, according to local reports.

Cops discovered 82-year-old Sylvia Frens’ remains after finding a stench coming from the bedroom of her Grand Junction home, Fox News reported. Most of the bedroom floor was covered in a brown stain.

Her 54-year-old son, Richard Voldemort Vandervelde — who lived with her at the time of her disappearance — was charged May 29 with first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased human body, fraud-identity theft, motor vehicle theft, and abuse of a corpse, police said.

Police launched the search for Frens after her daughter reported her missing in May 2018.

Throughout the course of the four-year search, police discovered Vandervelde was using his mother’s debit cards, withdrawing more than $10,000 in cash from her personal checking account.

Vandervelde was also found to be in possession of his mother’s car.

China, U.S. winning in global arms industry shakeup spurred by Ukraine war
[UPI] Russia's general sales pitch for its weapons has been they're "cheaper and easier to maintain than Western alternatives." This is why Russia accounted for 19% of the world's arms exports from 2017 to 2021, second only to the United States, which had 39% of the market.

However, this pitch may no longer be effective for many countries that have seen Russian equipment losses and failures in Ukraine.

To date, the U.S. estimates Russia has lost almost a thousand tanks, at least 50 helicopters, 36 fighter-bombers and 350 artillery pieces, according to Business Insider. Thousands of Russian soldiers have been killed, with estimates ranging from about 15,000 to as high as 30,000, and Russia is still unable to control Ukraine's airspace.

National sriracha sauce shortage may lead to spiceless summer for some
[FoxNews] Huy Fong Foods, Inc. warns of an impending hot sauce shortage due to poor chili crops — production halted
This didn’t happen under Trump, just saying’
Fans of sriracha sauce in the U.S. might have to find a new spice alternative this year because there’s going to be a shortage of the condiment.

Huy Fong Foods, Inc. — the nation’s leading sriracha sauce manufacturer — sent a letter to its customer base in April about the impending shortage, which would directly impact retailers and restaurants.

The letter, distributed through an IFD Foodservice Distributor portal and recently shared on Twitter by concerned sriracha consumers, says Huy Fong Foods Is expecting a shortage of its signature Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce.

The hot sauce is made from sun-ripened red jalapeño-hybrid chili peppers.

At the time, Huy Fong Foods reminded its customer base that the company started experiencing a shortage of chili pepper inventory back in July 2020. The shortage worsened in recent months after poor weather conditions adversely affected chili crops this year.

"Unfortunately, this is out of our control and without this essential ingredient we are unable to produce any of our products," the letter said.

"Therefore, all orders submitted on or after April 19, 2022, will be scheduled AFTER Labor Day (September 6, 2022) in the order it was received."

Other unconfirmed orders are being put on hold until September, Huy Fong Foods wrote.

"We understand that this may cause issues," the letter continued. "However, during this time we will not accept any new orders to be placed before September as we will not have enough inventory to fulfill your order."

Huy Fong Foods also expects to have a shortage of Chili Garlic Sauce, a chunky hot sauce made from hot red peppers and garlic — as well as Sambal Oelek Sauce, a hot sauce made purely from hot red peppers.

The letter advised retailers and restaurants that carry Huy Fong Foods products to not promise any to customers unless they actually have it in stock.

Fox News Digital reached out to Huy Fong Foods for comment.

Sriracha is a popular hot sauce that has roots in Thailand and Vietnam.

It can be used on a variety of foods. The sauce has become a global export in recent decades.

Huy Fong Foods is largely credited with introducing sriracha sauce to the American market. The company was founded in 1980 by Chinese-Vietnamese businessman David Tran.

Today, the spicy sauce is manufactured at the Huy Fong Foods factory in Irwindale, California.

Past sale records show the company typically sells more than 20 million bottles of hot sauce per year.

Ukraine war casts shadow over China's belt and road ties with Russia-led Eurasian trade bloc
[SCMP] "Collaboration between EAEU and [Belt and Road Initiative] is affected because sanctions from America and Europe increased the risk of secondary sanctions for Chinese companies," said Zhao Long, a researcher at the Shanghai Institute for International studies.

Contractors and investors involved in EAEU and belt and road joint projects could run afoul of restrictions if they seek financing or conduct other business with companies that have been targeted by Western sanctions, he said.

The risk of these "secondary sanctions" has prompted hundreds of businesses and multilateral institutions to suspend ties with Russia.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and Bank of China have curtailed Russian access to capital markets, according to a database compiled by Yale University’s School of Management.

Chinese tech giant Huawei has also halted new orders and furloughed some staff in Russia, the database showed.

Oil and gas behemoth Sinopec has suspended talks with Russia for a gas chemical plant worth up to US$500 million, and at least five Chinese companies stopped work on Russia’s Arctic LNG 2 project in northern Siberia at the end of May.

Inflation costing Americans an extra $460 per month, analysis says
[NYPOST] White-hot inflation has forced the average American household to cough up an extra $460 per month, as surging prices for food and fuel put family budgets across the nation under strain.

Moody’s Analytics senior economist Ryan Sweet calculated the figure based on data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that showed the Consumer Price Index had jumped 8.6% in the 12-month period ending May 31 — the largest increase since December 1981.

Sweet compared average US household spending in May to what would have been spent in 2018 and 2019, when annual inflation averaged 2.1%.

"Having inflation at 8.5% on a year-ago basis, compared with the 2.1% average growth in 2018 and 2019, is costing the average household $346.67 per month to purchase the same basket of goods and services as they did last year," Sweet told The Post. "However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
the pure cost for households for having inflation running at 8.5% is $460.42 per month."

Soaring inflation has some economic experts worried a recession is coming, as President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. Joe's wife and daughter weren't killed by a drunk driver. He didn't graduate with three or even two degrees, wasn't in the top half of his law class, and his daddy didn't come home from a hard day's work in the mines and play football with the guys. The NAACP hasn't endorsed him every time he's run. On the other hand, he did abandon Afghanistan......
and the Federal Reserve face pressure to enact policies to slow down the increase.

The average SSA retiree collects $1,553.68 +/-per month (2021).

With inflation said to be costing at $460 (29.60%) a month vs the official 8.5% ($132.06). Either way, it shows the LSD's hosed the handling of the economy during the pandemic.

The result was their wild "social agenda" spending for this and that, took $$$$$ out of retiree pockets.

#2  Inflation is just another tax. You can either reduce the value of people's income by direct taxation or you can reduce it by printing (or whatever the digital means are employed today) more currency without backing. If you raise taxes directly, the voters know exactly who to blame. Do it by debasing the currency, the pols can try to blame 'others'.

Joe Louis Esquivel charged in deadly mass shooting at Maryland factory as new details emerge
[NYPOST] A Maryland factory worker accused of killing three coworkers and injuring two other people in a Thursday shooting was charged with dozens of felonies, including murder, authorities said Friday.

Joe Louis Esquivel, 23, of Hedgesville, WV, was hit with a slew of murder, attempted murder, assault and weapons charges in connection with the Smithsburg massacre, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

He was behind bars with no bond Friday night, officials said.

Esquivel went to his car to get a gun after working a full shift at Columbia Machine, Inc. Thursday. He returned to the concrete product factory’s break room and allegedly opened fire on fellow workers around 2:30 p.m., according to authorities.

After allegedly killing Mark Frey, 50; Charles Minnick Jr., 31; Joshua Wallace, 30, and critically injuring another colleague, Esquivel fled in his Mitsubishi Eclipse before he was stopped by state police about ten miles away, police said.

A shootout with two Maryland State Troopers ensued. Esquivel allegedly struck one of them, and he was shot when they returned fire, officials said. Both were hospitalized and expected to survive.

A search of the alleged murderer’s West Virginia home turned up additional firearms, sheriffs said.

The identities and conditions of the injured Columbia Machine worker was not released.

Smithfield Foods to shutter California meat-packing plant
[ABCNEWS] Meat-packing giant Smithfield Foods said Friday it will close its only Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, plant next year, citing the escalating cost of doing business in the state.

The Farmer John meat-packing plant in Vernon, an industrial suburb south of Los Angeles, will shut down in February, with its 1,800 employees receiving severance and job placement support along with bonuses for those who choose to stay on the job until the closure, said Jim Monroe, vice president of corporate affairs.

Some workers, who on average earn about $21 per hour, also will have opportunities to relocate to other facilities owned by the Virginia-based Smithfield Foods Inc.

The Vernon plant slaughters pigs and packages products such as ham and bacon. Some operations will be moved to other facilities in the Midwest, but the overall reduction in processing capacity is prompting Smithfield to reduce its sow herd in Utah. The company also said it is exploring ways to exit its farms in California and Arizona.

Monroe said operating costs in California are much higher than in other areas of the country, including taxes and the price of water, electricity and natural gas.

#10  Replacement People employment and lodging update:

Rural Super-8 Hotel provides deep discounts on lodging...to some.

The Super-8 Hotel at I-64 and Illinois Route-1 vacancy problem has been solved. Owner Arpip Travidi (or somebody, perhaps the US Taxpayer) provides deeply discounted fares to English Language Challenged (ELC) long-term guests.

According to a local source, the ELC personnel are employed at the nearby (historically low paying) PetroClear Oil Filter manufacturing facility. A sharp increase in SNAP food supplement use has also been reported.

Super-8 owner Arpip Travidi (dot not feather) was unavailable for comment.

US surpasses China as India's biggest trading partner in FY22
[EconomicTimesIndia] The US surpassed China to become India's top trading partner in 2021-22, reflecting strengthening economic ties between the two countries. According to the data of the commerce ministry, in 2021-22, the bilateral trade between the US and India stood at USD 119.42 billion as against USD 80.51 billion in 2020-21.

Exports to the US increased to USD 76.11 billion in 2021-22 from USD 51.62 billion in previous fiscal year, while imports rose to USD 43.31 billion as compared to about USD 29 billion in 2020-2021.
China disputes this and uses a different methodology.

#10  The Feds already have evidence (wire transfer data) on Hunter for money laundering.

Where it gets sticky for The Big Guy is that his efforts to bolt from the failed Ukrainian adventure pits him against two headstrong little anti-Russian patrons: Zelensky and the government of Latvia. The Latvian authorities broke the story about fraud and money laundering (Privatbank is domiciked in Latvia).

If The Big Guy pisses off either Z or the Natvuans or both, he may be facing serious blowback. Plenty of Deep Staters see Biden as a serious liability and would be happy to help Z and the Latvians expose Biden.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Drones that swarmed US warships off the coast of California in 2019 were from a mysterious Hong Kong-registered spy ship, say US Navy
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • The Pentagon has previously disclosed intriguing photos showing unidentified aerial phenomena flying above US warships in 2019

  • Last month, during a hotly-anticipated Congressional hearing into UAP and possible UFO sightings, military officials said some sightings had been explained

  • On Friday military intelligence website The Drive published new information, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act, about the sightings

  • The found that, off the coast of southern California, there were 10 encounters with suspicious drones from March 30, 2019 to July 30, 2019

  • On July 15, 2019, two US warships - the USS Paul Hamilton and the USS Bunker Hill - reported being followed by drones from a Hong Kong-flagged cargo ship

  • The warships radioed the ship, MV Bass Strait, but received no answer: Bass Strait's owner-operator, Hong Kong-based Pacific Basin, has not commented

  • Other incidents saw drones launched by 'local fisherman operating personal quadcopters', and by pleasure craft that failed to respond to radio messages

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Long Russian recession
[The Bell] Economic indicators for April released last week painted a surprisingly good picture: Russia’s economy appears to have shrugged off the initial effects of Western sanctions. But don’t be misled: the long-term effects of these sanctions are only starting to make themselves felt. Moreover, the EU last week announced a new round of sanctions: including an oil embargo that — as recently as a few months ago — was all but unthinkable.

The government and the Central Bank are most concerned by the fall in consumer spending. However, the reduction in April (8.8 percent) was only a third of that seen at the peak of the coronavirus crisis in April 2020 (26.8 percent).

The recent data is evidence that the current crisis will be very different from the pandemic: back then we saw a sharp fall and a gradual rebound; this time the fall will be steady and prolonged, according to Raiffaissenbank’s chief macro-analyst Stanislav Murashov. Consumer demand will likely continue to decline, firstly due to shortages arising from import problems, then due to a deteriorating labor market (although, for the moment, unemployment remains close to a record low of 4 percent).

Economist Oleg Itskhoki told The Bell in March that we were seeing "an experiment on the Russian economy and the Russian population on a never-seen-before scale". He wasn’t wrong. Even now, economists insist that "specific" and "unprecedented" circumstances make it almost impossible to make forecasts. The only thing we can say with certainty is that things will continue to change unpredictably and that a recession is unlikely to last for less than two years (something even admitted by the Ministry of Economic Development).

Iraq
Iran-backed militias' attacks against U.S. targets are up
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Attacks by Iranian proxies against bases housing U.S. military personnel in Iraq and Syria are increasing, U.S. officials say, and Washington has not responded with force since 2021.

There were seven attacks in May, as many attacks that month as February, March and April combined, and there have been a total of 29 since October without a kinetic U.S. response.

No Americans have been killed in these incidents, but a U.S. intelligence assessment found Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
may believe its proxy groups have killed and injured Americans, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the assessment. Iranians often boast about battlefield successes that are not substantiated. Earlier this year, Iranian officials claimed to have killed Israelis at a safe house in Irbil, which turned out to be untrue.

The attacks have been carried out by Iranian-backed militias, the U.S. officials say.

In a statement, the White House National Security Council said, "There is nothing that President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass. Don't say he didn't warn us......
takes more seriously than the security of U.S. personnel deployed overseas. Shortly before we entered office, U.S. personnel and facilities were under regular attack in Iraq and Syria. This included the largest rocket attack against our embassy in Baghdad in over a decade, which took place in late 2020. We immediately deployed a number of tools, including military strikes, diplomatic engagement, sanctions, and other measures to both protect our personnel and decrease risks of further attacks. The spate of attacks has decreased significantly since the middle of last year."

"Not every response will be seen or visible, but Iran fully understands that the United States is prepared to respond directly to any threat against U.S. personnel."

The Trump administration made clear it would respond if Americans were maimed or killed in an attack, but the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...the pack of self-imagined masterminds of strategy and intrigue at the service of the Biden Crime Family and a grateful nation...
has not drawn a similar red line for retaliation and a possible response would not be contingent on a U.S. casualty.

Michael Knights of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, who follows the militias closely, says "there’s been an increase" since April in attacks that appeared to be designed to send a warning.

The impetus for the uptick in attacks was likely the stalled negotiations on the 2015 nuclear deal and signals from Washington that it may increase economic pressure on Tehran if the talks completely collapse, he said. He believes the attacks are meant to send a message to Washington that more pressure on Iran will trigger more attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria.

"A lot of this stuff seems to be in the manner of a warning, like — ’We’re coming. We’re warming up. This is what we could do if we wanted to. [T]hey’re reminding us that they could [kill us],’" Knights said.

"I think it’s an indication that they are warming up their capabilities and they’re showing us that they are warming up their capabilities."

When contacted by NBC News, Iran’s U.N. mission said it had no role in incidents in Iraq or Syria.

"We do not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and therefore are not responsible for what is happening there," said Shahrokh Nazemi, spokesperson for Iran’s mission to the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
.

He added that events in Iraq or Syria had no connection to the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA.

"The developments in the region have nothing to do with the JCPOA," the spokesperson said, adding the U.S. "must honor its commitments" under the nuclear deal.

In October 2021, five so-called suicide drones packed with explosives and shrapnel attacked the U.S. garrison at al-Tanf in southern Syria. No U.S. troops were killed in the assault, but several structures were badly damaged. Iran was behind the attack, according to three U.S. defense officials and two administration officials, with its proxy forces carrying out the attack with the intention of killing U.S. troops.

Iran launched the attack in retaliation for an Israeli strike targeting advanced missiles parts in Syria that killed and maimed Iranian citizens, the U.S. officials said. The U.S. military had a warning that the drones were inbound and was able to move most of the 200 U.S. troops away from the base, which the officials said may have been the only reason no troops were maimed or killed.

After the al-Tanf attack, the U.S. sent a message to Iran through diplomatic channels, warning it not to strike again. Since then, U.S. troops have been attacked on at least 29 separate occasions, according to a list provided by a senior defense official. The most recent attack was last week when an Iranian-backed group fired five Katyusha rockets into al-Asad air base in western Iraq.

The Biden administration carried out Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in Syria in February 2021 in retaliation for rocket attacks, and against Iraqi militia targets in June 2021 in response to drone attacks, but has not retaliated against Iranian proxies for any attack since al-Tanf.

The Biden administration has told the Iranian regime it holds Tehran responsible for attacks from militia groups in Iraq and Syria and officials insist Iran knows that the U.S., from President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family, the guy who bungled Afghanistan...
to the U.S. military, is fully prepared to respond.

Officials also insist that just because the U.S. is not responding with airstrikes does not mean it is ignoring the attacks.

The Iranian-backed groups may be trying to draw the U.S. into a situation that could escalate, and some Biden administration officials argue it is smarter to work with the Iraqi military, focus on diplomatic messaging or consider sanctions. The U.S. shares intelligence with the Iraqis and their counterterror forces have been effective in hunting down militia groups after attacks.

Most of the recent attacks have been ineffective or easily defeated, and the Biden administration takes the scale of the attack into account before deciding on a possible response.

The Biden administration has not seen any indication that Iran's Revolutionary Guard has made a decision to escalate attacks against the U.S. in Iraq or Syria, but officials warn that could change and a significant escalation against the U.S. could close the door to a new nuclear agreement.

Most of the attacks were carried out by indirect fire, but U.S. officials are concerned about the increasing number of unmanned one-way drones, often referred to as suicide drones. There was also a probable SA-6 surface-to-air missile attack on two U.S. F-16s in Dayr az Zawr, Syria, that has not been disclosed.

After the al-Tanf attack, the Biden administration called for options to respond. Within hours, the commander of U.S. Central Command at the time, Gen. Frank McKenzie, briefed Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on options to retaliate, which included airstrikes in Iran that could lead to the deaths of Iranians.

White House officials bristled at the possibility of Iranians being killed and called for more options. After several rounds of possibilities presented, the Biden administration decided on a diplomatic message rather than a military response, angering some U.S. military leaders who wanted to respond with strikes. A U.S. military response against Iran would require White House approval.

If clear approval to conduct a retaliatory strike does not come within 72 hours of the original attack, the strike is very unlikely to happen, according to U.S. military statistics, which show that to be true of every strike against Iran since 2007.

The more the White House and the National Security Council ask for various options, the less likely the U.S. is to do anything kinetic, the statistics and U.S. military officials say.

One U.S. military official described the situation between the U.S. and Iran as being on "an escalation ladder," citing the liquidation of a senior Quds Force leader in Tehran, Iran’s seizure of two Greek oil tankers, and Israel’s recent military exercise simulating strikes on Iran.

Such an arrangement of fortifications makes it impossible for Ukrainian artillery to strike at the fortifications of the occupiers.

19:59 The head of the Luhansk OVA, Serhiy Gaidai, said that there are now several difficult directions in the region - from the side of Popasnaya, Severodonetsk and the Seversky Donets River, which has grown numb. Very tough battles are going on in Toshkovka and Severodonetsk. The territory of Azot is shelled for hours from artillery, a fire broke out after Russian shells hit radiators, from which oil leaked. At the same time, in street battles in Severodonetsk, the Ukrainian military wins, but Russian artillery "destroys house after house." Grain is transported from the newly occupied territories by KrAZ vehicles, Gaidai added.

In the Limansky direction, the enemy is reinforcing the grouping in the direction of Lisichansk. Also, the RF Armed Forces are advancing in the Nyrkovo area, the fighting continues.

19:14 Podolyak refuted claims that Ukraine ignored the threat of a Russian invasion: "If Ukraine" did not "prepare" for war, why did the first Russian strikes fall on mock-ups, all the ammunition was dispersed, and January and February were held in exercises? Ukraine was preparing for war since last year: information about the upcoming invasion was given not only by Western intelligence, but also by ours.Only if someone gave us three days, Ukrainian intelligence said: we will stand. But what other countries did, knowing about Moscow's plans to commit genocide in order to stop it - question. If we started receiving heavy weapons in January, the situation could be different. "

18:50 The Ukrainian army is experiencing a shortage of long-range artillery systems, Russian artillery "plows" the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and dominates the battlefield. In half a day, from 2,000 to 4,000 artillery shells arrive at Ukrainian positions, Dmitry Krasilnikov, head of the Pivnich operational command, said. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffer serious losses, constant strikes demotivate the best Ukrainian fighters in 2-3 days, and the demotivation of the infantry leads to the disruption of combat missions.

According to him, the production of the system for Ukraine will be completed at the end of summer, then it will undergo training, and the delivery of IRIS-T will take place in October.

"The IRIS-T system is the only thing I thanked both the chancellor and the government for in recent months. This system is the coolest in the world. It can be compared with the American Patriot. It is a German product. The breakthrough is that this is the first non-old-style weapon but the latest," the ambassador said. He also noted that in this case, long delivery times are justified, since the system is only being produced for Ukraine.

16:27 During the visit of the head of the European Commission to Kiev, Zelensky said that the future of the European project depends on whether the EU grants Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership: "It is now being determined what the future of a united Europe will be, and whether there will be a future at all. A positive response from the European Union to the Ukrainian application for membership could be a positive answer to the question of whether there is any future for the European project at all."

13:44 Zelensky during the Asian Security Summit Shangri-La Dialogue said that Russia's war against Ukraine is not only Europe: "This is about globally important things. The Russian leadership wants to discard all the achievements of the historical development of mankind, in particular the system of international law that we have today, and return to life as in the 19th century or even earlier, when everything that gave billions of people a chance for harmonious development and well-being was impossible."

"The world today must return Russia to its territory, and not seek understanding with it, because no one can appease the Russian leadership with words alone," the president added.

Ours are holding the industrial zone of Severodonetsk and destroying the Russian army in the city."

11:12 "Authorities" in the Kherson region demand from the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "to register and hand over their weapons" - such an order was given by the so-called "military commandant of the Kherson region", said the speaker of the Odesa OVA Serhiy Bratchuk: "Everyone already knows what fate awaits those whoever seems to the rashists is a bag on his head, a body exhausted by torture and, at best, a disability. As they write, "get registered, as well as voluntarily hand over weapons and ammunition" means to independently fall into the clutches of the beast, which at the first opportunity will cruelly take life And collaborators who voluntarily fail to show up are threatened with reprisals."

There was no doubt. And Zelensky did not want to hear it, and many others did too."

Every official who agrees to cooperate with the occupiers must understand who signs his own sentence and becomes a legitimate target for the Ukrainian special services and courts."

09:44 British intelligence reports that since April, Russian medium bombers have launched dozens of Kh-22 heavy air-launched missiles at ground targets. However, these missiles were intended to destroy aircraft carriers, and when used with a conventional warhead, they are highly inaccurate and can cause significant collateral damage - in particular civilian casualties.

Analysts point out that Russia is likely resorting to such ineffective weapons systems because it lacks more accurate modern missiles, while Ukraine's air defense system still keeps its tactical aircraft from striking much of the country.

09:27 Zelensky responded to a petition to lift the travel ban for men from Ukraine. The President said that, according to the Constitution, the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state is the business of the entire Ukrainian people, therefore, the travel ban will be lifted after the end of martial law. He also reports that the queue for obtaining permission to bury loved ones is up to ten days, and during this time, Mariupol residents must store the bodies at home or in makeshift morgues. Given the hot weather, the number of self-made graves in the yards is growing, the exhumation has actually been stopped.

08:37 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) notes that Ukrainian officials are stepping up and accelerating requests for more advanced weapons systems amid reports of the advantage of Russian artillery. The Russians are preparing to resume their offensive against Slavyansk and have made little progress north of the city. It's what happens when big states decide that their imperial appetites are more important than the rights of their peaceful neighbors."

Austin stressed that Russia is destroying the rules-based world order. And if not intervened, it will lead to the formation of a world filled with chaos and disorder, in which no civilized country would like to find itself: "Let's use this moment to unite for a common goal. Let's use this moment to strengthen the international order based on rules."

And we, almost a thousand kilometers, this balcony, we need to cut it off." He added that "they won't stop there."

“They will come from Western Ukraine or from somewhere else. Also, maybe they will have to fight for Western Ukraine so that they don’t chop it off. Because this is like death for us, not only for Ukrainians. Terrible processes are taking place around,” Lukashenka added.

justices and their immediate family members Thursday — a day after an armed man was arrested for attempting to murder Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

The Bronx Democrat posted a video on her Instagram feed of her running up the steps to the Capitol so she could be present on the House floor to stop a unanimous consent request by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy

In a subsequent video, the "Squad" member claimed McCarthy was trying to push the legislation through the House on a so-called "fly-out day," when members leave Washington to return to their home districts.

AOC told her followers that she would oppose the unanimous consent request until the Senate advances gun control measures after a spate of mass shootings in the US, including the May 24 Uvalde, Texas elementary school massacre.

"Oh, so we can pass protections for us and here easily, right? But we can’t pass protections for everyday people? I think not," she said. "I’m going to need a roll call vote on that."

House Democrats, who say they want to expand the bill to include enhanced security for Supreme Court clerks and other employees, rejected the unanimous consent request, sending McCarthy into a rage on the House floor.

"How many times do they have to be threatened?" he asked, referring to the justices. "How many people have to be arrested with a gun outside their home?"

The outburst took place hours after a Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, man was arrested with a cache of weapons outside Kavanaugh’s Maryland home after he called 911 on himself and told an operator he was having suicidal thoughts and wanted to kill the justice, according to court documents.

"What would have happened had he not called 911?" McCarthy asked his fellow wardheelers Wednesday night. "He didn’t just have a gun. He had zip ties. But somehow you want to leave. This bill could be on the president’s desk right now."

The Senate passed the legislation by unanimous consent May 9 after a draft Supreme Court opinion leaked that indicated the justices were close to overturning Roe v. Wade, triggering nationwide protests.

On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi

snapped at a news hound who pressed her about Supreme Court security.

"He’s protected. The justices are protected," Pelosi said of Kavanaugh, later adding: "No one is in danger over the weekend because of our not having a bill."

#1  Unlikely to happen. Everyone is focused on the Donbas right now, but Kherson is too important to Russia.
Nice BBC map

Kherson anchors one end of the land bridge to Crimea, a major objective of this 'special operation'. Also, there is a canal near Kherson that brings fresh water to Crimea. The Ukrainians blocked the canal after the 2014 troubles. Restoring the canal was another Russian goal.

Last week, panicking and trying again to extort more billions from us, he suddenly changed his tune and said "60 to 100" per day.

The next day, his spokesman upped that to "100 to 200" per day. Yesterday his top military official revised it to 300 Ukrainian casualties suffered each day.

Which tells you the real number is at least twice that.

Holbrooke, Obama’s special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, replied that he “thought we had a certain obligation to the people who had trusted us”.

Terror Networks
Iraqi at Guantanamo Bay to Plead Guilty in Afghan War Crimes Case
[Shafaq] Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi, who is accused of leading forces that killed U.S. and allied troops, is disabled. A resolution of his case would involve finding a country to take him into custody.

A disabled Iraqi prisoner at Guantánamo Bay has reached an agreement with military prosecutors to plead guilty to war crimes charges related to his role as a commander of krazed killer forces in Afghanistan in the early 2000s, lawyers disclosed in court Friday.

The secret agreement in the case of Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi is the first reached during the Biden administration, the guys that caused the debacle in Afghanistan
...the collection of boodlers, grifters, hangers-on, and self-proclaimed experts affiliated with the Biden Crime Family. Entrusted with an entire nation as the result of a suspicious election, they set about happily implementing stuff they absorbed in college, all of which blew up and splattered the rest of us...
, which has indicated it would support plea bargains to resolve long-running, sometimes stalemated war crimes cases at Guantánamo Bay. Prosecutors are also negotiating with the five men who are accused of plotting the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, a process that is expected to be more complicated because of the crime and the punishment sought, the death penalty
.
But the case of Mr. Hadi is poised for a more swift resolution.

Lawyers disclosed in court Friday that they had reached a preliminary agreement in May and completed a document on Thursday that accounts for his crimes as a way of averting a trial.

Prosecutors had sought at most life in prison in a case that cast Mr. Hadi as the late Osama bin Laden
...... who is no longer with us, and won't be again......
’s liaison to the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
and as a commander of Death Eaters who had attacked and killed American and allied forces as well as medical and humanitarian relief workers in wartime Afghanistan and Pakistain from about 2003 to 2004. Details of the deal, including for which of those attacks Mr. Hadi has agreed to accept responsibility, could be disclosed as early as Monday.

At a hearing Friday, the military judge, Lt. Col. Mark F. Rosenow of the Air Force, revealed the existence of the agreement but noted discrepancies in documents he would use to question the prisoner on his understanding of the crimes, and whether he had voluntarily entered into the agreement. Prosecutors and defense lawyers said they would work through the weekend, in tandem with the Pentagon brasshat who had approved the deal, to address the judge’s concerns.

Most details of the agreement were under seal Friday, including the length of the sentence a military jury would be asked to consider.

But in a portion of the pretrial agreement that was signed in May, both sides agreed to postpone the prisoner’s sentencing hearing until 2024

Libyan Army Raids ISIS Hideout in Al-Jufra

The 128th Reinforced Brigade of the Libyan National Army (LNA) announced that it raided a hideout belonging to the terrorist organisation ISIS in the Al-Jufra area, in central Libya.

The Brigade said in a statement on Facebook that the ISIS elements dug an underground trench, which was used by them as a headquarters for planning their terrorist activity in the region. However, it did not reveal whether they arrested any people or clashed with ISIS members.

The LNA is leading a massive campaign against ISIS militants in southern and central Libya. In a statement, the Southern Commander of the LNA, Major General Al-Mabrouk Sahban, stated that forces “carried out a qualitative military operation, during which they targeted a number of ISIS militants and destroyed armoured vehicles.”

“Our desert and land reconnaissance patrols continue over the entire region in pursuit of all militant groups deployed in the southern areas. Libyan Air Force warplanes provided close air support for LNA troops advancing on the ground,” he noted.

He also stated that the operation aimed to “hunt down the Takfiri terrorists that threaten security and stability and who are active in looting, theft, sabotage, and smuggling activities.”

Moreover, the Director of the Moral Guidance Department of the LNA said earlier that the operation of the LNA against terrorist organizations in the south of the country “has achieved its goals.”

In an interview with Sky News Arabia, he said that the LNA intensified its reconnaissance operations, and the pursuit of ISIS elements. He confirmed that the LNA “dealt a strong blow to ISIS.”

The LNA senior official revealed that there is cooperation with several countries in efforts to combat terrorism in Libya. He noted that the LNA enjoys great popular support.

The LNA took control of the entire city of Qatroun, in the South of the country, after launching military operations targeting terrorists.

The LNA announced that it destroyed a number of military vehicles, and arrested an ISIS commander in a military operation in the southern town of Qatrun.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
From the Russian Perspective: Operation on Denazification of Ukraine: operational summary June 11th (updated)
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[NewsFrontInfo] 21:41 Rockets are rushing towards Ukraine. Air Raid in many areas. A flight of missiles was seen over the Kirovograd region, a cruise missile also rushed over the Odessa region towards Vinnitsa.

21:41 The first store of the new chain opened in Kherson. Price tags are indicated in rubles and hryvnias, the assortment includes Russian and local products. Olga, an employee of the store, shared her impressions of the opening of the retail space.

"It differs in that in this store there are Russian goods and goods of our Kherson manufacturers. ‹…› Of course, we got the store in a deplorable state: the shelves were broken, there was an unpleasant smell. ‹…› As you can see, they put the store in order, everything is fine with us," she told the Izvestia correspondent.

21:41 More than 841 tons of humanitarian aid have been transferred to residents of the DPR, LPR and southern Ukraine.

21:41 More than 50 requests for evacuation from Ukraine came to Russia in a day.

21:41 The militants have equipped an ammunition depot on the territory of the church in Pershotravensk.

21:41 The militants are placing US-made weapons and MLRS in the schools of Sloviansk.

21:05 The first batch of weapons from Germany to Ukraine will arrive on June 22, Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk said. According to him, the entire complex of combat vehicles, which consists of seven Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers and 15 Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, will be delivered only by August.
June 22nd, the anniversary of the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, also is commemorated as the Day of Sorrrow and Remembrance.
21:05 Forensic experts and other specialists arrive from Russia to serve in the internal affairs bodies of the Kherson region, as there are not enough personnel in the region now, Vladimir Saldo, head of the military-civilian administration (CAA) of the Kherson region, said on Saturday in a video published in Telegram- VGA channel. In the Kherson region, which this spring, as a result of a special military operation, got out of control of Kyiv, police bodies are being formed.

"There are not enough criminologists, specialists in a different direction, and now volunteers from <…> regions [of the Russian Federation] are coming and taking up this service," Saldo said.

21:04 President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law allowing the dispatch of military personnel of the Territorial Defense Forces to perform tasks in combat areas.

20:08 In the liberated Energodar began celebration of the 52nd anniversary of the founding of the city. An entertainment program was prepared for children in the old park. Free cotton candy, trampolines, sports and interactive competitions were waiting for kids. There was also a drawing competition. All participants received memorable gifts and prizes.

20:06 Ukrainian authorities once again resorted to a pathetic attempt to prevent the inhabitants of the Zaporozhye region from celebrating a holiday, this time - the Day of Russia.

The fugitive mayors announced a curfew from 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. Similar attempts to disrupt the events were made before the holidays of the First of May and Victory Day, but we all remember how large-scale they were in the Zaporozhye region.

The inhabitants of the liberated territories have forever returned their holidays and traditions that Ukraine took away from them. We think it is worth reminding the Kyiv regime that the inhabitants of the Zaporozhye region are no longer under the occupation of Ukrainian neo-Nazis, and such orders cause laughter, and nothing more. Moreover, they are written in an understandable, exclusively Western dialect.

19:17 The swimming season has opened in Odessa. One of the vacationers was blown up on a Ukrainian mine. Obviously, this is not the last death of civilians on Ukrainian mines, which were scattered in the sea and on the beaches in the Odessa area.

19:17 Any attempts by Western countries to cancel Russia only betray their manic belief that the whole world obeys their orders, said the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Naryshkin.

19:17 Russian servicemen held an unscheduled humanitarian action in the village of Veliky Burluk (Kharkiv region) for local children. In connection with the beginning of the holidays, the administrations of settlements controlled by the Russian Armed Forces are working on the issue of sending children to health camps in the Belgorod region.

19:17 Vladimir Putin signed laws on non-execution of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights in Russia.

18:29 Ukraine will not be able to return the lost territories even with Western help. The Washington Post has published another article that is not encouraging for the Ukrainian regime.

The publication reports that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have run out of ammunition, and this despite the fact that the prospects on the battlefield are already rather vague.

"The Russians still make mistakes and also lose people and equipment, although at a slower rate than in the first months of the conflict. But the trajectory of the war has deviated from Russia's initial unexpected failures and tilted in its favor as a distinctly more powerful force.

At the same time, Western aid comes too slowly and will not be able to influence the advance of Russian troops in the Donbass. And this leads to an increase in the loss of personnel and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And the political and military leadership of Ukraine, like no one else, understands this fact."

18:27 APU fired at a village on the coast in the Kherson region.

18:03 Explosions are reported in Kharkov.

17:58 In Ukraine, the first citizen of the Czech Republic, who fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, died, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said.

16:59 The armament of the Ukrainian forces is so inferior in artillery that 10-15 shells in their direction are answered with one.

16:59 The number of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in one Severodonetsk can reach up to 1,000 (killed and wounded) people a day.

16:58 The Office of the President resumed negotiations with Warsaw on the introduction of the 20,000th group of Poland to Western Ukraine. On Bankovaya, they want to transfer units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the eastern front, which are located near the Belarusian border.

15:56 All loans taken from Ukrainian banks may not be repaid. No one will bear any responsibility for this, - said the head of the military-civilian administration of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo.

15:56 Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin: Russia has traditionally been an international guarantor of security and stability. No peace, global or regional, concluded without the participation of Russia, can be neither strong, nor stable, nor durable.

Any attempt by the totalitarian-liberal regimes of the West to abolish Russia only betrays their maniacal belief that the whole world revolves around them and obeys their wishes and orders. In fact, this is not so, and evidence of this is the 1000-year history of Russia.

15:41 Former member of the territorial defense of Kherson Oleg Bohun, who was detained while trying to sell weapons, urged former colleagues to surrender and start cooperating with Russia. He said that most of his colleagues, like himself, were forcibly called up for service.

14:56 Head of the Civil-Military Administration of the Zaporozhye Region Yevhen Balitsky opened a memorial plaque in honor of a Melitopol resident, a fighter against Ukrainian nationalism - Pavel Sudoplatov.

13:46 The military commandant of the Kherson region ordered the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region to hand over their weapons. The military commandant of the Kherson region demanded that the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and persons equated to them located in the region, voluntarily appear at the military commandant's office, register, and also voluntarily hand over their weapons and ammunition.

The corresponding order "On strengthening public security measures" was signed on June 9. Persons who have complied with the requirements of the commandant's office will not be prosecuted if they did not commit crimes.

Those who try to evade the execution of the order are subject to detention with the seizure of all prohibited items found: weapons, including their components, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices.

13:45 Today, the first Russian passports were issued in Kherson. Volodymyr Saldo became the first resident of the Kherson region to receive a passport of the Russian Federation. The document was solemnly handed over to the head of the Regional State Administration by the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Igor Kostyukevich.

In turn, Vladimir Vasilyevich presented passports to 23 more residents of the region, who expressed a desire to become the first citizens of the Russian Federation in the liberated territory.

"For me, this is a truly historic moment. I have always thought that we are one country and one people," said the head of the CAA.

To date, the mechanism for issuing passports of the Russian Federation has already been debugged. Those who wish will be able to issue a document by contacting the passport office.

12:37 Air defense systems of the Russian Federation shot down MiG-29 and Su-25 planes in the Nikolaev and Kharkov regions.

12:37 The Russian Armed Forces destroyed the Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system in the DPR with high-precision air-launched missiles.

12:36 Rocket troops and artillery destroyed more than 300 nationalists and two Grad multiple rocket launchers.

12:35 The Russian Armed Forces destroyed the deployment point of foreign mercenaries in the Kharkiv region with high-precision air-launched missiles.

11:32 Debts of residents of the Kherson region to utility companies and credit organizations of Ukraine will be written off - deputy head of the military-civilian administration Kirill Stremousov.

11:31 Residents of Kharkovur get heir "defenders" lay down their arms. Internet users are actively distributing campaign leaflets with a QR code on social networks, the meaning of which is not too difficult to understand.

The text on the leaflets states that "refusal to defend the Nazis is not cowardice." If you look closely, you can see that one of the leaflets is glued to the military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The code, by the way, leads to the Polite People channel. It is still interesting to observe how the criminal Ukrainian authorities continue to believe in the "integrity and unity" of the country.

Apparently, somewhere there was a miscalculation. Kharkov, in fact, is already ready for surrender.

11:31 Russia was forced to take drastic measures and start a special operation in Ukraine, since it was impossible to leave Donbass to be torn to pieces by neo-Nazis - Russian Ambassador to the United States.

"Kyiv carried out an undisguised genocide against the Russian-speaking population in eastern Ukraine," the Russian diplomat stressed.

11:31 In the Kherson region, there is a clear integration into the Russian Federation, the region will never return to Ukraine in its life - Deputy Head of the Regional Administration Stremousov.

11:31 The first Russian passports have already been issued in Melitopol.

10:33 The combat training of the Brave continues even at the front. Firearms training is conducted with personnel even in a combat situation. Today, the crews of the T-80, BMP-2 and flamethrowers from the RPO "Shmel" improved their skills at the shooting range.

10:32 Six Russian carriers of Caliber cruise missiles are in the Black Sea in readiness to use missile weapons.

10:32 In the Severodonetsk direction, the RF Armed Forces are advancing on Novotoshkovskoye - Orekhovo, they have achieved success.

10:32 In the Slavyansk direction, the RF Armed Forces have concentrated forces for an attack on Slavyansk. The regrouping of the Russian military with similar goals is taking place in the Liman direction.

10:32 In the Seversk direction, the Russian army is firing at the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the border areas of the Sumy region.

10:31 Lack of artillery ammunition undermines the morale of the UAF militants - The New York Times. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are running out of ammunition for the Soviet artillery they use. The country did not receive enough weapons from its Western "allies", the Armed Forces of Ukraine themselves complained about this to the leading American publication.

"We are running out of shells," said one of the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "We are not being supplied with them as quickly as they should be, and we are forced to save shells," he added.

10:30 A powerful explosion thundered in the area of the settlement. Klintsy, Bryansk region. Previously it became known about the fire in the military unit, there was no information about the shelling. According to local residents, around 6 am there was a strong explosion, and then three more less loud ones. They also write that military equipment that arrived for repairs from the NVO zone in Ukraine was damaged. At the moment, nine rescue vehicles are extinguishing the fire. There were no casualties.

8:20 In the Kharkiv region, with the support of the military personnel of the RF Armed Forces, they began to restore the music school, which suffered as a result of artillery strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The music school will start working from September 1 this year and will accept new students for training. "Ministry of Defense of Russia"

7:10 At night, several missile attacks were carried out on objects and accumulations of the APU residential force in Kharkiv. There were four arrivals in total: two of them were in the area of the Kharkov Aviation Institute (KhAI).

Not far from it are the Kharkov Aviation Plant and the airfield, which have been used by Ukrainian armed forces since the beginning of hostilities. A fire broke out at the site of one of the hits. At the same time, artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was working from the city limits: residents reported several “sorties” from different parts of Kharkov.

0:56 Kyiv for the first time announced the real losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - according to Arestovich's calculations, the Ukrainian military lost about 10 thousand people. In an interview, Arestovich said that from the very beginning of the special operation, Ukraine has lost 100 people a day, and the total number of losses reaches 10 thousand people.

"At the beginning of the conflict, we had 100 people per day on average," Arestovich said in an interview with Mark Feigin.

Arestovich agreed with the host that, based on this calculation, the total number of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could reach 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

In Severodonetsk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine win - Gaidai
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Vesti] Russian artillery destroys all houses in Severodonetsk. According to the head of the Luhansk military administration, Sergei Gaidai, this is the reaction of the Russian military to the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area . " Constant battles are going on in the city of Severodonetsk. The territory of the Azot plant is being shelled very powerfully, everything is simply being destroyed there. Even oil has leaked from the radiators, there was a very powerful fire, " he said.

Gaidai noted that in Severodonetsk "ours win in street battles, but, unfortunately, enemy artillery simply dismantles the floors of houses that are used as shelters." “ In this sense, it’s hard - until ours knock out the enemy from one street, then the enemy starts with tanks, artillery, Grads to dismantle house after house. We have to regroup, move to new positions ,” the head of the region noted.

According to him, the most difficult situation is not only in Severodonetsk, but also in Popasnaya and in the area of the Seversky Donets River. At the same time , the water level in the Seversky Donets River has dropped significantly , so there may be attempts by the Russian military to cross the river and try to make a new bridgehead in the Belogorovka area. Also, the enemy can break through the line of defense of our defenders in Popasna.

In addition, according to Gaidai, there are very powerful battles in Toshkovka. Previously, the enemies used "Solntsepek" there. This weapon is banned worldwide.

Gaidai nevertheless notes that the situation in the Lugansk direction is difficult, but under control.

But evacuation from the area is no longer possible, because you can get into battle or get mortally wounded from arrival.

14 Russian attacks repelled in Donbas, fighting continues
