EU sanctions 6 people and 3 firms in Hamas finance crackdown
[IsraelTimes] The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
has decided to sanction six people and three companies for financing Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
and the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, the EU council says.

The EU says it is sanctioning Jamil Yusuf Ahmad Aliyan, Ahmed Sharif Abdallah Odeh, Zuheir Shamlakh, Ismail Barhoum, Ali Morshed Shirazi and Maher Rebhi Obeid.

It adds that it is also sanctioning the companies Zawaya Group for Development & Investment Co Ltd., Larrycom for Investment Ltd. and the Al Zawaya Group for Development & Investment Sociedad limitada.

The individuals and companies will be subject to an asset freeze, and the six people will also be banned from traveling to the EU.

US shifts assault ship to Mediterranean to deter Israel-Hezbollah escalation
[IsraelTimes] The amphibious assault ship USS Wasp entered the eastern Mediterranean Sea this week as the US positions warships to try to keep fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
from escalating into a wider war in the Middle East.

While the Wasp has the capability to assist in the evacuation of civilians if full-scale war breaks out between Israel and the Iranian-backed terror group along the Lebanon border, that’s not the primary reason it was rotated in, a US official says. "It’s about deterrence," the official says.

A second US official says the rotation is similar to the US sending the USS Bataan assault ship into the waters around Israel shortly after Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
’s October 7 attack, with the vessel remaining for months in the eastern Mediterranean to help provide options and try to contain the conflict. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive operational details.

US officials said last week that the deployment of the Wasp was likely as the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier and its air wing left the region. The Wasp carries F-35 fighter jets, which do short takeoffs and vertical landings, so they can do Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
missions off smaller ships.

US European Command, which is responsible for ships operating in the Mediterranean, announced the move this week, saying the Wasp and the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard would sail with the dock landing ship USS Oak Hill, which is used to transport Marines, landing craft, vehicles and cargo. The Oak Hill is already in the Mediterranean.

The Wasp also is sailing with the amphibious transport dock ship USS New York, which can deliver troops either by on-deck helicopters or landing vessels.

It all comes as Hezbollah and Israel have escalated their near-daily attacks on one another.

Sort of. They both have magazines that hold multiple rounds. And ships tend to be painted gray which is a lighter shade of the black used in scary black rifles.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
US officials say thousands of 2,000-pound bombs shipped to Israel since Oct. 7
[IsraelTimes] Over 14,000 MK-84s, which Biden paused a shipment of, are among the US munitions sent to Israeli forces fighting against Hamas and Hezbollah

The Biden administration has sent to Israel large numbers of munitions, including more than 10,000 highly destructive 2,000-pound bombs and thousands of Hellfire missiles, since the start of the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, said two US officials briefed on an updated list of weapons shipments. Between the war’s start last October and recent days, the United States has transferred at least 14,000 of the MK-84 2,000-pound bombs, 6,500 500-pound bombs, 3,000 Hellfire precision-guided air-to-ground missiles, 1,000 bunker-buster bombs, 2,600 air-dropped small-diameter bombs, and other munitions, according to the officials, who were not authorized to speak publicly. While the officials didn’t give a timeline for the shipments, the totals suggest there has been no significant drop-off in US military support for its ally, despite international calls to limit weapons supplies and a recent administration decision to pause a shipment of powerful bombs.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran installs half of planned new centrifuges at Fordow, IAEA report says
[IsraelTimes) Atomic energy agency says Tehran’s four new cascades have been put in place but haven’t yet started enriching uranium

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has installed half the advanced uranium-enriching machines it said earlier this month it would quickly add to its Fordow site dug into a mountain but has not yet brought them online, the UN nuclear watchdog said in a report seen by Rooters.

Iran informed the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency two weeks ago it would rapidly expand its enrichment capacity at Fordow by adding eight cascades, or clusters, of IR-6 centrifuges at Fordow within three to four weeks.

Within two days the IAEA had verified that two of the cascades had been installed. In a confidential report to member states on Friday the agency said that number had now doubled.

"The Agency has verified that Iran has installed four of the aforementioned eight IR-6 cascades in Unit 1 at FFEP (Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant)," the report said, adding that the verification happened on Sunday.

"Iran has not specified to the Agency when it would start feeding any of the cascades in Unit 1 with UF6 or the planned enrichment level," it added, referring to uranium hexafluoride gas, the feedstock for centrifuges.

Diplomats say the addition of the IR-6 machines was a response to a resolution against Iran by the IAEA’s 35-nation Board of Governors on June 5 calling on Tehran to step up cooperation with the watchdog and reverse its recent barring of inspectors. Iran tends to bristle at such resolutions.

The United States announced new sanctions targeting Iran’s oil trade on Thursday, saying it was acting in response to "steps (by Iran) to further expand its nuclear program in ways that have no credible peaceful purpose."

Iran is enriching uranium to up to 60% purity, close to the roughly 90% of weapons grade, at two sites: Fordow and an above-ground pilot plant at Natanz. It has enough material enriched to up to 60%, if enriched further, for three nuclear weapons, according to an IAEA yardstick.

At Fordow, it is currently using the two only operating cascades of IR-6 centrifuges there to enrich to 60% from 20%.

Iran also informed the IAEA this month that it would bring online more of the dozens of advanced centrifuges it has installed at its largest enrichment site, the underground Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP) at Natanz.

The report said Iran plans to feed UF6 into 15 cascades of IR-2m and IR-4 machines already installed but not yet enriching. The last quarterly IAEA report in May put the number of those machines installed but not operating at 21.

Iran has now carried out passivation, a process that involves feeding UF6 into centrifuges in preparation for enrichment without accumulating enriched uranium, on six of those cascades, Friday’s report said.

"Iran has started feeding, for passivation purposes, 4 natural UF 6 into an additional three IR-2m cascades and three IR-4 cascades for the first time," it said.

Iran had also begun installing one of the 18 extra IR-2m cascades it said this month it would set up at the FEP, the report added.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinian gunman who fired on Israeli town last month arrested
[IsraelTimes] Police say Amar Nasrallah was shot and injured as he fled security forces in Tulkarem; during interrogation incriminated others who recently fired at Bat Hefer

A Paleostinian gunman behind shooting attacks from the West Bank against the Israeli town of Bat Hefer in May was detained earlier this month, the Israel Police announced Wednesday.

A joint IDF, Shin Bet and police statement said Amar Nasrallah was arrested on June 5 in the Tulkarem refugee camp.

Last month, Paleostinian terror group Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
said its operatives from the Tulkarem area in the West Bank had fired shots at Bat Hefer.

Hamas posted videos on social media of its button men opening fire.

During his interrogation, "Amar admitted that he was a member of a terror cell that carried out shooting attacks on towns near the [border] fence, and in addition, incriminated other suspects belonging to the cell," the statement said.

Footage published by police showed officers shooting Nasrallah as he allegedly attempted to flee. He was maimed and captured.

A Paleostinian gunman behind shooting attacks from the West Bank against the Israeli town of Bat Hefer in May, was detained earlier this month, police announce.

Hebrew media reports at the end of May said that three times in the space of the previous two weeks shots had been fired at Bat Hefer, a town of about 5,000 people that sits just west of the so-called Green Line separating Israel from the West Bank.

There have also been similar shooting incidents at Kibbutz Meirav, a religious community of less than a thousand, from the West Bank city of Jenin.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Mystery as two top execs at rehab company kill themselves and facilities suddenly shut down across the US
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Employees of a multistate rehab company have been left in the dark after several facilities shut across the country following the suicides of the two top executives.

Retreat Behavioral Health, which has facilities in Florida, Philadelphia and Connecticut, abruptly closed their facility in Palm Beach, Florida, last week. Employees told WPTV that around 100 mental health and substance use patients were told to pack up and leave, including 30 who had nowhere to go.

Facilities in Lancaster County, PA, and New Haven, CT, have also since shuttered following the deaths of CEO Peter Schorr and CAO Scott Korogodsky.

Korogodsky had taken up the leadership of the company after Schorr killed himself at his home in Delray Beach, according to LancasterOnline.

Days after Schorr died, Korogodsky also killed himself life - according to the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner's Office.

Lissa Franklin, the VP of Southeast Florida Recovery Advocates, told CBS12: 'I'm sure there’s more to the story, but from the employees that I spoke with most everybody that was there did find safe and supportive discharge options.

'It’s very sad what happened to the Retreat. From my experience. it was a great program.

'They always helped everyone in the community. They treated everybody with compassion and kindness.'

According to Franklin the facility was one of the only ones in the area that accepted Medicaid or VA health insurance policies.

Internal emails sent to staff and seen by the outlet show that Korogodsky assured members of staff they would be paid after a delay in receiving paychecks.

On Thursday, Alexander Hoinsky, the chief financial officer for the facility, said that the company had been on dire straits financially for at least a year. Hoinsky told WPTV that he had grew concerned after executives at the company stopped taking his calls. He said: 'I left messages and emails [and] laid out what was going to go forward. Basically, they did not want to hear it.'

Government Corruption
How James Clapper Rigged The 2016 And 2020 Debates Against Trump
[Federalist] Just before Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton faced off in their second presidential debate, then-National Intelligence Director James Clapper met in the White House with a small group of advisers to President Obama to hatch a plan to put out a first-of-its-kind intelligence report warning the voting public that "the Russian government" was interfering in the election by allegedly breaching the Clinton campaign’s email system.

On Oct. 7, 2016 — just two days before the presidential debate between Trump and Clinton — Clapper issued the unprecedented intelligence advisory with Obama’s personal blessing. It seemed to lend credence to what the Clinton camp was telling the media — that Trump was working with Russian President Vladimir Putin through a secret back channel to steal the election. Sure enough, the Democratic nominee pounced on it to smear Trump at the debate.

And that wouldn’t be the only historically consequential maneuver for Clapper, whose role in skewing presidential campaigns might deserve a special place in the annals of nefarious election meddling — by, in this case, a domestic, not foreign, intelligence service.

In 2020, he was the lead signatory on the "intelligence" statement that discredited the New York Post’s October bombshell exposing emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop, which documented how Hunter’s corrupt Burisma paymasters had met with Joe Biden when he was vice president. It was released Oct. 19, just three days before Trump and Biden debated each other in Nashville. Fifty other U.S. "intelligence community" officials and experts signed the seven-page document, which claimed "the arrival on the U.S. political scene of emails purportedly belonging to Vice President Biden’s son Hunter, much of it related to his time serving on the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation."

In hindsight, Clapper’s well-timed pseudo-intelligence in 2016 and 2020 helped Clinton and Biden make the case against Trump as a potentially Kremlin-compromised figure, charges that crippled his presidency and later arguably denied him reelection.

The phony laptop letter actually helped Biden seal his narrow victory since many of his voters in the close election told pollsters they would have had second thoughts about backing him had they known of the damning materials contradicting his denials he knew anything about his son’s shady foreign dealings.

-Land of the Free
You Keep Using The Term 'Authoritarian'...
You Keep Using The Term 'Authoritarian'...
[ZEROHEDGE] You know the term “authoritarian.” You think you know what it means.

An authoritarian dad, boss, or government says: my way or the highway. They are forever barking orders and see compliance as the answer to all human problems. There is no room for uncertainty, adaptation to time and place, or negotiation. It’s ruling by personal dictate while tolerating no dissent.

To be authoritarian is to be inhumane, to rule with arbitrary and capricious imposition. It can also mean to be ruled impersonally by a machine regardless of the cost.

Sounds like a conventional government bureaucracy, right? Indeed. Think of the Department of Motor Vehicles. Think of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy which are right now issuing edicts that will end in the ability of your washing machine to clean your clothes and your car to go the distance.

They have been doing this to us for many decades, with or without the permission of Congress or the president. The agencies have become literally out of control in the sense that no one can control them.

Any society managed by a large and intrusive bureaucratic machinery is necessarily authoritarian. A government that is not authoritarian is necessarily limited in size, scope, and range of power.

Let’s say you have a political leader who has routinely called for less in the way of authoritarian rule by bureaucracies. He intends to use whatever power he has to curb the autonomous rule by administrative bureaucracies and subject them more to the wishes of the people, who should ideally be in charge of the regime under which they live.

Such a leader would not be called an authoritarian. He would be called the opposite, an emancipator who is trying to dismantle authoritarian structures.

If all of the above makes sense to you, try to make sense of this news story in the New York Times. It’s about the growing efforts on the part of many activists to resist a second term of Donald Trump.

In passing, the story says: “If Mr. Trump returns to power, he is openly planning to impose radical changes — many with authoritarian overtones” including “making it easier to fire civil servants.”

The story quickly adds that he intends to replace the fired employees with “loyalists.” Maybe. But consider the alternative. The president is supposed to be ostensibly in charge of 2 million plus bureaucrats that are employed by 400-plus agencies in the executive branch — but they don’t actually have to carry out the policies of the elected president. They can in fact completely ignore him.

How is this compatible with either democracy or freedom? It is not. There is nothing in the Constitution about a vast army of bureaucrats who rule behind the scenes that is in no way reachable or manageable by elected representatives.

The attempt to pull back, rein in, and otherwise do something about this problem is not authoritarian. It is the opposite. Even if “loyalists” replaced the fired employees, that would be an improvement over a system of government in which the people truly have no control at all.

Two years into Trump’s first term, the administration came to figure out that this was a problem. The administration intended some dramatic turns in policy in a number of areas. All they experienced was dogged resistance from people who believed they and not the elected president were in charge. Over the next two years, they undertook many efforts to at least solve this problem: namely, the president should be in charge of the government that falls under his jurisdiction.

This only makes sense. Imagine you are the CEO of a company. You discover that the main divisions that actually run the company care nothing about what you say and cannot be fired even if you demand it, and yet you are personally held responsible for everything these divisions do. What are you going to do?

It is not “authoritarian” to unseat or otherwise attempt to gain control over that for which you are held responsible, professionally or politically. That is truly all that the Trump people are suggesting. This is nothing other than a Constitutional system: we are supposed to have a government by and for the people. That means that the people elect the administrator of the executive branch. At a minimum, the winner of the election needs to be able to have some influence over what the agencies in the executive branch do.

California paid $4 billion for 400,974 'ghost' TK-12 students last year
[JustTheNews] At a statewide level, “ghost” student funding accounted for 6.2% of total state formula aid to school districts.

As state enrollment continues to decline due to outmigration, falling birthrates, and parents choosing to pull their children out of public school, the number of “ghost” students could continue to rise.

Funding guarantees and enrollment decline stabilization measures mean California is paying for 400,974 "ghost" students who don't exist, costing the state $4.06 billion in the 2022-2023 school year, according to a report from the libertarian Reason Foundation.

Study authors Aaron Garth Smith and Christian Barnard examined the cost of so-called “hold harmless” policies that provide funding protections for public schools in the face of declining enrollment. The two main policies used are declining enrollment protections, which allow schools to use prior, higher enrollment numbers to determine funding, and funding guarantees, which provide schools with a minimum level of state financial support regardless of enrollment. Notably, California’s charter schools, which are public schools, do not qualify for “hold harmless” funding.

Eighty-five percent of school districts received some form of “hold harmless” funding. Of the 148 schools that received minimum state aid funding, 111 were “property-wealthy districts that didn’t otherwise qualify for state formula aid.”

California’s enrollment-based funding policy allows the use of the greater of the current year’s average daily attendance, the last year’s, or the average of the three most recent years (not including the current year). “Ghost” students are the difference between the number of actual students, and the number the school district used for funding. Los Angeles Unified School District, the largest in the state, had an estimated 50,417 “ghost” students directing $507.74 million from state funds to the district. Of the over 1,400 California public schools with enrollment declines of 20% or more since the pandemic, 125 of them are in Los Angeles Unified.

At a statewide level, “ghost” student funding accounted for 6.2% of total state formula aid to school districts. Given finite state resources, funding “ghost” students impacts funding for real students.

“California’s hold harmless policies untether the relationship between K-12 funding and students,” said Smith to The Center Square. “The state’s fiscal outlook is bleak, and policymakers should consider ways to allocate public school funding more strategically. Eliminating ghost students and the state’s [minimum state aid] provision would be a good step in this direction.”

California public school enrollment declined 325,311 between the 2019-2020 and 2023-2024 school years, even after creating a whole new grade — transitional kindergarten — to boost attendance figures and funding.

California plans on spending approximately $23,940 per TK-14 student for the coming fiscal year. Should enrollment declines continue as one-in-four Californians are projected to be 60 or older by 2030, the state may someday have no choice but to shift education funding towards elder care.

Rep. Thomas Massie announces the passing of his wife, Rhonda: 'The smartest kindest woman I ever knew'
[BLAZE] Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky announced on Friday that his wife Rhonda passed away on Thursday.

"Yesterday my high school sweetheart, the love of my life for over 35 years, the loving mother of our 4 children, the smartest kindest woman I ever knew, my beautiful and wise queen forever, Rhonda went to Heaven. Thank you for your prayers for our family in this difficult time," the lawmaker tweeted.

"She was valedictorian at our high school where we went to the Prom together, accepted at MIT and Harvard, earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from MIT, and devoted her life to our family," he added. "We spent last week touring Mt Rainier with our grandson - she was the best mammaw ever! We love you Rhonda," Massie wrote.

Back in late August 2022, the congressman posted about their 29th anniversary, writing, "Happy 29th Anniversary today to my high school sweetheart & lovely wife. Who else could be valedictorian of her high school class, solve differential equations at MIT, run a farm, can green beans, bake apple pies, set tobacco, rake hay, raise 4 perfect kids, and tolerate me?!"

Condolences have been pouring in on social media.

"I was in Massie's office just yesterday afternoon," Blaze Media's Steve Baker noted. "I had a scheduled appointment with him and other members of his staff. His chief of staff messaged me just before I arrived and said his boss had to go to Kentucky for a 'family emergency.' The meeting went on with the staffers, and they showed no sign of this tragedy. (They may not have even known.) I even joked with them that Massie needed to clean his desk - which was piled high with papers and books and other junk. One staffer said, 'We always make him clean it before the August recess.' My gut aches right now. Prayers up for Thomas Massie and his family."

Economy
Skyrocketing Food Prices Are Prompting Many Americans to Stock Up on Long-Term Storage Beef
[Gateway] If one watches corporate media or listens to the narrative coming out of Washington DC, inflation is going down and everyone should be happy with the economy. If one looks at the prices at the grocery store, they realize that the narrative doesn’t match reality.

With some foods skyrocketing in price over the last year, it’s getting harder for Americans to keep their cupboards full. But some Americans are looking ahead, seeing the writing on the wall, and realizing the trajectory of the nation and the world points to food shortages and government-controlled distribution.

"Who controls the food supply controls the people," Henry Kissinger once said. He was right. It doesn’t matter how independent and patriotic someone is. If they’re given the choice between bowing to government or letting their family members starve to death, nearly everyone will bow.

"We don’t want anyone to bow to a tyrannical government because they didn’t have enough food to feed themselves and their families," said Jason Nelson, CEO of Prepper All Naturals. "I fought for a free country and the direction America is heading is away from freedom."

Nelson, a disabled veteran who served in both the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army, left the military after a long career because of the Covid-19 "vaccine" mandates. When he returned, his desire to serve compelled him to launch his company in order to empower Americans with their own long-lasting supply of freeze-dried food.

Ribeye, NY Strip, and Tenderloin are among the cuts offered by Prepper All Naturals.

Nelson decided to go with premium cuts because of his own experience with "prepper" beef.

"I tried the freeze-dried ’beef crumbles’ and ’beef chunks’ that were being offered to Americans as survival food and realized the apocalypse is really going to suck if this is our only option," Nelson said. "So, we came up with a better option."
Click here to see what Prepper All Naturals has for you.

Beef cubes offered by Prepper All Naturals are cut from all-American cattle. The cubes are cooked sous vide, then freeze-dried and placed in mylar bags with oxygen absorbers to make them shelf-stable for at least a decade. The USDA recommends freeze-dried beef be used within 25-years of being packaged.

Government Corruption
The 51 'Spies Who Lie' Are Still Lying
[Hot Air] Even though four years have passed, new information continues to leak out about the 51 supposed intelligence officials who signed a statement in 2020 declaring that the story about Hunter Biden's laptop had "all the hallmarks" of a Russian disinformation campaign.

Joe Biden would go on to cite those officials during a debate with Donald Trump. Of course, the laptop was real and they all knew it the entire time, leading some outlets like the New York Post to dub them, "the spies who lie." The lies have apparently not ended yet, however. Newly revealed documents show that at least two of the officials were employed as CIA contractors at the time that the letter was created. Former CIA acting director Michael Morell and ex-CIA Inspector General David Buckley were under contract to the agency. Yet when they were contacted to ask about that relationship, they both either denied it or refused to comment. (NY Post)

#4  Judiciary Committee releases interview transcripts of signers of Hunter Biden laptop letter

Just tne News:

Newly released transcripts of interviews with eight of the intelligence officials who were among 51 signatories of the infamous letter labeling reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop as a potential “Russian information operation” show the letter drafters were motivated by politics while freely admitting they had no hard evidence for the claims.

The transcripts, which include interviews with former CIA Director Michael Morell, one of his key former deputies Marc Polymeropoulos, and former CIA Director John Brennan, show the behind the scenes maneuverings to publish the infamous letter which then-candidate Joe Biden used to deflect accusations against him stemming from the material found on his son’s laptop.

“Look, there are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plan. They have said that this has all the characteristics – four, five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage,” Biden said during the final debate abasing then-President Donald Trump.

The immediate political benefits of the open letter were far from coincidental, according to testimony from several signatories. Marc Polymeropoulos, a deputy to Morell when he served as director, testified to congressional investigators that Morell told him “the Biden world had asked for this.”

Putin says it is necessary to produce medium- and shorter-range missiles
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Russia must respond to the actions of the United States, apparently, it is necessary to start producing intermediate- and shorter-range missiles (INF), President Vladimir Putin said on June 28 at an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.

“Apparently, we need to start producing these strike systems and then, based on the actual situation, make decisions about where, if necessary to ensure our security, to deploy them,” the Russian leader said.

The President drew attention to the fact that the United States not only produces ground-based intermediate-range and shorter-range missile systems (INF), but also brings them to exercises in Europe, in particular to Denmark.

The Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty has been in force between the United States and Russia since 1987. In August 2019, the United States officially withdrew from the treaty. The document prohibited the production, use, and storage of ground-based ballistic and cruise missiles of intermediate (1,000 to 5,500 km) and shorter (500 to 1,000 km) range, and also applied to missiles with conventional and nuclear warheads.

Following this, the United States also refused to ratify the agreement on adaptation of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe and withdrew from the Open Skies Treaty.

As Regnum reported, in April, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow would respond by refusing a moratorium on the deployment of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles (INF) if Washington deploys such systems in any region of the world, including the Asia-Pacific and European directions. Ryabkov noted that Washington’s intention to deploy INF is irreversible.

Arabia
Four ships hit by Yemeni strikes in both Red Sea and Mediterranean
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i armed forces said they had carried out four military operations against four ships in the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.

In support of the oppressed Paleostinian people and their fighters, and in response to the massacres committed by the Zionist enemy against the people of Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, the Armed Forces carried out several qualitative military operations, including a joint military operation with the Islamic resistance in Iraq targeting the oil tanker "Waler" in the Mediterranean Sea with a number of drones. It was on its way to the port of Haifa, and the ship was targeted violating the ban on entering the ports of occupied Paleostine," the armed forces said in a statement issued this evening.

The armed forces added in the statement that the missile force in our Yemeni Armed Forces, with God’s help, also carried out an operation targeting the ship "Johannes Maersk" in the Mediterranean Sea with a cruise missile, and the operation successfully achieved its goal by Allah’s grace.

The armed forces explained in the statement that this ship belongs to the "Maersk" company, which is one of the most supportive companies for the Zionist entity and the most violative of the ban on entering the ports of occupied Paleostine.

The operation was carried out simultaneously with another military operation by the naval forces in the Red Sea against the ship "Ioannis," which was targeted with several drones for violating the ban on entering the ports of occupied Paleostine, and it was directly hit by Allah’s grace, according to the statement.

"The Yemeni Armed Forces salute all the struggling Yemeni people for their constant and continuous response to the call of Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr El-Din al-Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
(may Allah protect him) in the massive public rallies in support of the Paleostinian cause and to confirm the rejection of the American-British aggression against our country," the statement read.

"The Yemeni Armed Forces will continue, with Allah’s help, to carry out their religious, moral, and humanitarian duties on behalf of the great Yemeni people and all the free people of the nation in support of Paleostine and in victory for its struggling people and brave resistance. The military operations will not stop except with the cessation of aggression and the lifting of the siege on the Paleostinian people in Gaza," the statement stressed.
The Times of Israel provides a reality check:
Yemen’s Houthi militant group have claimed responsibility for attacking a Liberia-flagged vessel in the Red Sea that a maritime agency said had survived five missiles, while also saying they targeted three other vessels including two in the Mediterranean.

Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesperson, says in a televised statement that the group launched ballistic missiles at the Delonix, an oil tanker, and that it took a “direct hit.”

However, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) monitor said earlier in the day that the ship, which was targeted 150 nautical miles (172 miles) northwest of the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, reported no damage and was heading northward.

Saree also says the Houthis attacked the Ioannis ship in the Red Sea, as well as the Waler oil tanker and the Johannes Maersk vessel in the Mediterranean.

He says the Johannes Maersk, which is owned by Maersk MAERSKb.CO, the world’s second-largest container carrier, was targeted because it belongs to “one of the most supportive companies for the Zionist entity and the most that violates ban decision of access to the ports of occupied Palestine.”

They scout and search for targets. What Russia will do with US drones over the Black Sea
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Mikhail Zakharov

[REGNUM] American strategic drones are increasingly circling over the Black Sea. Their tasks are reconnaissance and designation of targets for high-precision weapons supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by the West for strikes on our country's territory, the Russian Defense Ministry stated.

The department clarified that this indicates the increasing involvement of the United States and NATO countries in the conflict in Ukraine on the side of the Kyiv regime. At the same time, the appearance of American drones in the region greatly increases the likelihood of incidents in the air with Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft. Consequently, the risk of a direct clash between NATO and Russia is growing.

“NATO countries will be responsible for this,” the Ministry of Defense warned.

On June 28, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov instructed the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces to make proposals for measures to promptly respond to provocations.

THEY TRACK DOWN AND BEAT
American reconnaissance drones regularly fly off the coast of Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory. In particular, the NATO RQ-4B Global Hawk UAV was seen there at least on May 26 and June 5. It is noteworthy that during the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Sevastopol on June 23, the Global Hawk also circled in the airspace over the Black Sea.

Military analysts believe that the drone flies in with the main goal of assessing the results of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attacks on Russian territory. Along the way, it collects information about new potential targets and the operation of air defense systems.

After this, the obtained data, military expert, editor-in-chief of the magazine "National Defense" Igor Korotchenko told IA Regnum, are transmitted to Western centers for processing intelligence information. Then a flight mission is drawn up and targets are determined for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike our forces using NATO weapons - in particular, American ATACMS operational-tactical missiles.

On June 26, a telephone conversation took place between Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and Pentagon head Lloyd Austin. A number of sources stated that the reason for the conversation was an alleged incident with an American UAV over the Black Sea.

At the same time, the previous conversation between the heads of the Russian and American military departments took place back in March 2023, when, as reported, the parties discussed the crash of the US MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and attack drone in the Black Sea.

HOW WILL RUSSIA RESPOND?
The Russian Ministry of Defense will soon decide how to stop or at least limit the activity of American drones near the territory of our country, Igor Korotchenko is sure. But we learn about these measures after the fact - not from statements, but from specific actions.

The situation is complicated by the fact that we cannot take the most obvious route, that is, shoot down American drones over the Black Sea, since they are hovering over neutral waters, military expert Vasily Dandykin explains in a commentary to IA Regnum.

At the same time, he notes, one should not forget that NATO manned reconnaissance aircraft are also monitoring the situation in the region from the airspace of Romania and Bulgaria.

On June 28, an American Boeing RC-135V Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft and a Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker refueling aircraft were operating over the Black Sea from Romania. A similar aircraft from the British Air Force was also recently spotted in the region, along with two Eurofighter Typhoon fighters that flew off the coast of Crimea.

In any case, there are ways to solve the problem with NATO manned and unmanned reconnaissance aircraft “hanging” over the Black Sea, experts say. In particular, it is possible to complicate the collection of data using passive and active camouflage, military expert Anatoly Matviychuk told IA Regnum.

“The protection of our military facilities can be carried out both through changing their configuration and location, and through the active operation of electronic warfare systems.

In addition, we may be talking about the unarmed influence of our aviation, which will prevent the passage of American aircraft near our borders and displace them from dangerous flight trajectories for us,” Matviychuk said.

The Ministry of Defense may also create a no-fly zone: drones entering it will be destroyed or actively interfere with their work, Igor Korotchenko believes.

Pentagon announces intention to continue patrolling Black Sea
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The United States intends to continue patrols and drone flights over the international waters of the Black Sea, Deputy Pentagon Spokesperson Sabrina Singh said on June 28.

"We will continue to patrol, conduct sea passage and operate in international airspace and international waters where permitted by law," she said during a briefing.

Singh noted that she had not seen the statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding the increasing frequency of flights of American strategic drones over the Black Sea.

As Regnum reported, on June 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the increased intensity of UAV flights indicates the increasing involvement of the United States and NATO countries in the conflict in Ukraine. In addition, flights of American drones significantly increase the likelihood of incidents in the airspace, which creates increased risks of direct confrontation between the alliance and the Russian Federation.

In this regard, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov instructed the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces to take prompt response measures to US provocations over the Black Sea.'

-Land of the Free
Respect Through Insubordination
[Field Ethos] We live in a time where words once set aside to describe those who accomplish great deeds are being used up like they have an expiration date. Where any man willing to throw on a dress, paint his face as gaudy as a baboon’s ass, and step out in public armed with a list of acceptable pronouns is hailed as a hero for his bravery. There was a time, not so long ago actually, where superlatives were reserved for individuals willing to grab cold hard steel and enter the arena in service of his fellow man, regardless of the risk to life or limb.

One such individual who embodied the spirit those words were meant to impart recently passed, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the Ranger community. He lived by an ethos and creed few are willing to follow and even fewer able to uphold. He was a legend in a community of men that can call themselves warriors without equivocation. His name was Colonel Ralph Puckett Jr.

Puckett first answered the call to arms in 1943, enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps Enlisted Reserve to become a pilot and kill Nazis in Europe. His plan would not come to fruition, though, due to the program being terminated. Not a man to let bureaucracy stand between him and a good fight, he went on to graduate from West Point in 1949.

Investor Rogers predicted a recession in the United States in the coming year
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The United States of America will soon face a new recession. This opinion was expressed by American investor Jim Rogers.

The financier believes that it will begin at the end of 2024 or in 2025.

"I know it's coming," Prime quoted the analyst as saying.

Rogers reminded us that the United States experiences recessions every few years. This has been happening for centuries, since the country's founding.

The American investor also did not rule out that a new recession will begin in the US even before the presidential elections, which will take place in November of this year.

Earlier, Rogers said that the US economy and the world as a whole would face difficulties after the presidential elections in the country.

As IA Regnum reported, columnist for The Washington Post newspaper David Ignatius, citing a report by the RAND Corporation analytical center (included in the register of organizations whose activities are recognized as undesirable in the Russian Federation), prepared by order of the Pentagon, said on April 27 that the United States is facing a period of decline, after which they are unlikely to recover from. The reason for this, he said, will be the lack of a common understanding of the problem and ways to solve it.

He noted that the competitiveness of the United States is under threat, highlighting the declining respect for the country's power from dozens of developing countries and rivalry from China. He also pointed to problems in the form of slowing productivity growth, excessive military tensions and the polarization of the country's political system.

On June 27, it became known that the first bank in the United States in 2024, Republic First, had collapsed. The country's authorities took control of the American bank, closed it, and appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as its successor.

The US, Japan and Europe will suffer a “horrific” recession that will be accompanied by a collapse of the banking system, Rogers said in May 2023. The investor pointed out that countries are trying to combat the collapse of banks by merging them with larger organizations.

Supreme Court makes shock ruling on homeless crisis
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] The Supreme Court decided on Friday that cities can enforce bans on homeless people sleeping outdoors, even in West Coast areas where shelter space is lacking.

The case is the most significant to come before the high court in decades on the issue and comes as a rising number of people in the US are without a permanent place to live.

In a 6-3 decision along ideological lines, the high court reversed a ruling by a the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
-based appeals court that found outdoor sleeping bans amount to cruel and unusual punishment.

The majority found that the 8th Amendment prohibition does not extend to bans on outdoor sleeping bans.

'Homelessness is complex. Its causes are many. So may be the public policy responses required to address it,' Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote for the majority.

[KavkazUzel] The Sergokalinsky district is considered secular in Dagestan, however, relatives of the former head of the region Magomed Omarov were participants in a militant attack in Derbent and Makhachkala, Dagestan journalists emphasized. This is not the first case of radicalization of members of the local elite in Dagestan, although status and place of birth are not key factors in joining militants, they say.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on June 23, on Trinity Day, which is one of the main Christian holidays, militants attacked synagogues and an Orthodox church in Derbent and Makhachkala. As a result of the attacks, 21 people were killed and 46 were injured. On June 26, doctors described the condition of six of those injured in the militant attack as serious. Sources reported that the  22nd victim  of the militant attack died - a random passerby who happened to be at the synagogue in Derbent.

Another Trump achievement Biden claimed in last nights debate: insulin price drop
[CMS.GOV] President Trump Announces Lower Out of Pocket Insulin Costs for Medicare’s Seniors
May 26, 2020

Today, under President Trump’s leadership, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that over 1,750 standalone Medicare Part D prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans with prescription drug coverage have applied to offer lower insulin costs through the Part D Senior Savings Model for the 2021 plan year. Across the nation, participating enhanced Part D prescription drug plans will provide Medicare beneficiaries access to a broad set of insulins at a maximum $35 copay for a month’s supply, from the beginning of the year through the Part D coverage gap. The model follows on the Trump Administration’s previously announced 13.5 percent decline in the average monthly basic Part D premium since 2017 to the lowest level in seven years.

Supreme Court makes shock ruling on homeless crisis
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The Supreme Court decided on Friday that cities can enforce bans on homeless people sleeping outdoors, even in West Coast areas where shelter space is lacking.
Any nearby vacant office buildings?
The case is the most significant to come before the high court in decades on the issue and comes as a rising number of people in the US are without a permanent place to live.

In a 6-3 decision along ideological lines, the high court reversed a ruling by a San Francisco-based appeals court that found outdoor sleeping bans amount to cruel and unusual punishment.

The majority found that the 8th Amendment prohibition does not extend to bans on outdoor sleeping bans.

'Homelessness is complex. Its causes are many. So may be the public policy responses required to address it,' Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote for the majority.

'A handful of federal judges cannot begin to ‘match’ the collective wisdom the American people possess in deciding "how best to handle" a pressing social question like homelessness.'

He suggested that people who have no choice but to sleep outdoors could raise that as a 'necessity defense,' if they are ticketed or otherwise punished for violating a camping ban.

A bipartisan group of leaders had argued the ruling against the bans made it harder to manage outdoor encampments encroaching on sidewalks and other public spaces in nine Western states. That includes California, which is home to one-third of the country’s homeless population.

'Cities across the West report that the 9th Circuit’s involuntary test has crated intolerable uncertainty for them,' Gorsuch wrote.

Homeless advocates, on the other hand, said that allowing cities to punish people who need a place to sleep would criminalize homelessness and ultimately make the crisis worse. Cities had been allowed to regulate encampments but couldn’t bar people from sleeping outdoors.

'Sleep is a biological necessity, not a crime,' Justice Sonia Sotomayor said, reading from the bench a dissent joined by her liberal colleagues.

'Punishing people for their status is ‘cruel and unusual’ under the Eighth Amendment,' she wrote in the dissent. 'It is quite possible, indeed likely, that these and similar ordinances will face more days in court.'

The case came from the rural Oregon town of Grants Pass, which appealed a ruling striking down local ordinances that fined people $295 for sleeping outside after tents began crowding public parks.

The US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which has jurisdiction over the nine Western states, has held since 2018 that such bans violate the Eighth Amendment in areas where there aren’t enough shelter beds.

Friday’s ruling comes after homelessness in the United States grew a dramatic 12 percent last year to its highest reported level, as soaring rents and a decline in coronavirus pandemic assistance combined to put housing out of reach for more people.

More than 650,000 people are estimated to be homeless, the most since the country began using a yearly point-in-time survey in 2007. Nearly half of them sleep outside. Older adults, LGBTQ+ people and people of color are disproportionately affected, advocates said. In Oregon, a lack of mental health and addiction resources has also helped fuel the crisis.

Russia has never interfered in US electoral processes, Peskov says
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Russia has never interfered in US electoral processes and does not intend to do so now. This was stated on June 28 at a briefing by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov in response to a request to comment on the past election debates between US President Joe Biden and his political opponent Donald Trump.

The Kremlin representative noted that the debate is an internal matter of the United States and therefore Moscow is not going to give any assessment to it.

"We have never interfered in election campaigns. We are not going to do so this time," he said.

Peskov also stressed that the election debates in the US are not an issue on the agenda in Russia.

“We have many issues that are really important for our country, that are relevant for us,” he explained, specifying that Russian President Vladimir Putin is dealing with these issues.

As reported by IA Regnum, the televised debates between Trump and Biden took place on the evening of June 27. During them, the candidates for the post of US President mentioned the Russian leader seven times. At the same time, Trump also mentioned Russia 16 times during the meeting, while Biden did not do so even once.

The former US President also called the conditions for settling the conflict in Ukraine, which were previously put forward by the Russian President, unacceptable. Biden, in turn, made the assertion that after the liberation of Kiev by the Russian Armed Forces, a third world war would allegedly begin.

The Politico newspaper reported on June 27 that a number of representatives of the US Democratic Party began to actively discuss replacing Biden after his failure in the televised debate with Trump. According to the publication, one of the major donors of the Democrats advised the current head of state to end the presidential campaign after this.

Russia warns Japan of countermeasures over military exercises
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Russia will take countermeasures in connection with Japan's plans to conduct military exercises near Russian borders, according to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry published on June 28 on the website of the foreign policy department.

“A strong protest was lodged with the Japanese Embassy in Russia in connection with the plans of the Japanese authorities to conduct a series of joint military exercises with Germany and Spain on the island of Hokkaido from July 19 to 25,” the statement said.

The Ministry pointed out to the Japanese side that such provocative military activity involving NATO member countries is absolutely unacceptable. Russia regards the exercises as a potential security threat. The Foreign Ministry also called the policy of the Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida 's government irresponsible, as it leads to an escalation of tensions in the Asia-Pacific region, including Northeast Asia.

As Regnum reported, on June 21, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the director of the third department of Asia, Lyudmila Vorobyova, at a meeting with the director of the European department of the Japanese Foreign Ministry, indicated that the new package of anti-Russian sanctions adopted by Tokyo was another step towards the complete destruction of relations between the countries. The Russian diplomat called Kishida's policies hostile, noting that his actions had brought bilateral ties to an unprecedented low.

On June 6, President Vladimir Putin said that Russia does not refuse to resume dialogue with Japan after Tokyo changed its position on Ukraine. He emphasized that the Russian side did nothing to complicate bilateral contacts. The head of state also called Japan's position on the Ukrainian crisis biased.

Decree on admission during air raid
Direct Translation via Google Translate.

Text is cribbed from an announcement by the governor of Sevastpol' Razvozhaev.

Commentary by Russian military journalist is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] Today I signed a decree on admission to capital facilities of all types of ownership during the announcement of the signals "Attention everyone! Air raid siren!" and "Ballistics!"

Let me remind you that last year we had a law that provided for fines for institutions and firms that did not allow people into shelters and coverts from the city register during an alarm.

Now that we have a threat of ballistic missile attacks, the list of premises where you can take refuge during an alarm is expanding.

All enterprises - both state and private - are required to let people into their premises. The exception, of course, will be all restricted facilities.

I appeal to everyone: every person should have the opportunity to hide from danger, no matter where it overtakes them. From an ethical point of view: imagine that you did not let a person in, and he was wounded by shrapnel right next to your store - how will you live with this, knowing that you could have helped him and did not? From a legal point of view: for failure to comply with the decree, legal entities are subject to a fine of 100 to 300 thousand rubles.

The decree was published on the website of the Government of Sevastopol and will come into force in 10 days.

(c) Governor of Sevastopol Razvozhaev

These are generally obvious things, although a little late, they should have been implemented in 2023. But after Uchkuyevka, they reasonably decided that it was enough to convince those who do not understand the obvious.

In addition, 576 temporary shelters for citizens will be erected in the city and Balaklava Bay will be closed at night. The beaches will not be closed.

Israeli forces push deeper into southern and northern Gaza
[GEO.TV] Israeli forces deepened their incursion into two northern and southern areas of the Gaza Strip on Friday, and Palestinian health officials said tank shelling in Rafah killed at least 11 people.

Residents and Hamas media said tanks advanced further west into the Shakoush neighbourhood of Rafah, forcing thousands of displaced people there to leave their tent camps and head northward to the nearby Khan Younis.

The Israeli military did not immediately comment.

Since May 7, tanks have advanced in several districts of Rafah, and forces remained in control of the entire border line with Egypt and the Rafah crossing, the only gateway for most of Gaza's 2.3 million people with the outside world.

Palestinians flee 'in terror' with dead, wounded left on ground as Israel storms Gaza City
[GEO.TV] Palestinians fled eastern Gaza City on Thursday under heavy bombardment as the Israeli military issued an evacuation order for the area it had previously declared clear of Hamas fighters.

The flare-up in the northern Gaza Strip’s Shujaiya district, which witnesses and medics said caused numerous casualties, comes as fears grow of a wider regional conflagration involving Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah, a Hamas ally.

In Gaza City, a witness in Shujaiya who declined to be named told AFP the situation was "frightening" as Israeli military vehicles approached amid air strikes and shelling.

"Residents are running through the streets in terror... wounded and martyrs lie in the streets."

#2  Could that be referring to this, Grom, as reported by the Times of Israel:

IDF confirms Shejaiya op; says it struck terrorists hiding in schools, humanitarian zone

The IDF confirms it launched a new pinpoint operation in Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood yesterday.

The raid, being carried out by the 98th Division, comes following intelligence information on Hamas operatives and infrastructure in the area.

The IDF says the division’s 7th Armored Brigade pushed into the Shejaiya area during the day, and overnight, the Paratroopers Brigade began to raid sites in the neighborhood.

Dozens of Hamas sites were struck from the air as the ground forces pushed in, the military says.

In separate “significant” strikes in northern Gaza, the IDF says it killed dozens of terror operatives who were holed up in a school and other UNRWA facilities.

Meanwhile, overnight, the military says a fighter jet struck a Hamas operative in a building in central Gaza’s Deir al Balah, within the Israeli-designated “humanitarian zone.”

“The terrorist operated from within the humanitarian area, which the organization uses as a shield for terrorist activity,” the IDF says.

The military says that ahead of the strike, it worked to evacuate the civilian population from the area of the building. It also says it used aerial surveillance, a precision munition, and other means to mitigate harm to Palestinian civilians.

Ministers among four arrested for 'black magic' on Maldives president
[GEO.TV] Two ministers were among four people arrested for allegedly performing "black magic" on Maldives President Dr Mohammed Muizzu, reports cited officials as saying.

As per Economic Times, the suspects include Fathimath Shamnaz Ali Saleem, the state minister for Environment, Climate Change and Energy, her ex-husband Adam Rameez, who is also a minister at the President's Office and two others.

The climate minister was remanded in jug for a week pending investigations, officers said, without giving details for her arrest in the mysterious matter.

"There have been reports that Shamnaz was arrested for performing black magic on President Dr Mohammed Muizzu," said the Sun, a local media outlet.

Notably, both Shamnaz and Rameez were known to have worked with Muizzu as members of the Male City Council when he was serving as the city's mayor, The Economic Times reported.

Police would neither confirm nor deny the report and have declined to share any information about the reasons for the alleged performance of black magic.

Shamnaz holds an important position in a nation which remains on the frontlines of the climate crisis, with UN environment experts warning that rising seas could make Maldives virtually uninhabitable by the end of the century.

Black Hand Strike. How Britain starts world wars
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Oleg Khavich

[REGNUM] Exactly 110 years ago the “long nineteenth century” ended. According to British historian Eric Hobsbawm, it lasted from the French Revolution until the outbreak of the First World War. The formal reason for the latter was the assassination of the Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand in the Bosnian city of Sarajevo on June 28, 1914. The course of events of that fateful day in Sarajevo is known minute by minute; journalists from the British media corporation BBC even reported on them ten years ago, using 21st century journalistic techniques, in the style of “live reporting”. IA Regnum will take the liberty of not only reconstructing the events that led to one of the two largest catastrophes of the 20th century, but also pointing out the forces that stood behind these events.

Moody's Predicts 24% Of Office Towers Will Be Vacant By 2026
[ZeroHedge] A new report from Moody's offers yet another grim outlook that the commercial real estate downturn is nowhere near the bottom. Elevated interest rates and persistent remote and hybrid working trends could result in around 24% of all office towers standing vacant within the next two years. The office tower apocalypse will result in more depressed values that will only pressure landlords.
What about the return-to-the-office trend? Many companies are doing that, too.
"Combining these insights, with our more than 40 years of historic office performance data, as well as future employment projections, our model indicates that the impact on office demand from work from home will be around 14% on average across a 63- month period, resulting in vacancy rates that peak in early 2026 at approximately 24% nationally," Moody's analysts Todd Metcalfe, Anthony Spinelli, and Thomas LaSalvia wrote in the report.

In a separate report, Tom LaSalvia, Moody's head of CRE economics, wrote that the office vacancy rate's move from 19.8% in the first quarter of this year to the expected 24% by 2026 could reduce revenue for office landlords by between $8 billion and $10 billion. Factor in lower rents and higher costs, this may translate into "property value destruction" in the range of a quarter-trillion dollars.

In addition to remote working trends, Moody's analysts pointed out that the amount of office space per worker has been in a "general downward trend for decades."

At the peak of the Dot-Com boom, office workers used an average of 190 sq ft. The figure has since slid to 155 sq ft in 2023.

Moody's expects vacancy rates to top out as office towers are demolished or converted to residential ones in the coming years.

#4  The World Inside is a science fiction novel by American writer Robert Silverberg, published in 1971. The novel originally appeared as a series of shorter works in 1970 and 1971, all but one published in Galaxy, including the Hugo nominated novella "The World Outside". The World Inside was nominated for a Hugo Award in 1972, although Silverberg declined the nomination.
On March 2, 2010, Orb Books published this title as a trade paperback edition.
The novel is set on Earth in the year 2381, when the population of the planet has reached 75 billion people.[4] Population growth has skyrocketed due to a quasi-religious belief in human reproduction as the highest possible good. Most of the action occurs in a massive three-kilometer-high city tower called Urban Monad 116.
War, starvation, crime and birth control have been eliminated. Life is now totally fulfilled and sustained within Urban Monads (Urbmons), mammoth thousand-floor skyscrapers arranged in "constellations", where the shadow of one building does not fall upon another. An Urbmon is divided into 25 self-contained "cities" of 40 floors each, in ascending order of status, with administrators occupying the highest level. Each building can hold approximately 800,000 people, with excess population totalling three billion a year transferred to new Urbmons, which are continually under construction.

The Urbmon population is supported by the conversion of all of the Earth's habitable land area not taken up by Urbmons to agriculture. The theoretical limit of the population supported by this arrangement is estimated to be 200 billion. The farmers live a very different lifestyle, with strict birth control. Farmers trade their produce for technology and the two societies rarely have direct contact; even their languages are mutually unintelligible.
A very interesting book. I did my architecture thesis proposal based on it.

Everyone was wasted away from EV travel inside the buildings. Longer treks took the electric wheelchairs in horizontal escalators between buildings, like Musk's tunnels.

It worked. Then everyone developed skin cancer and cornea burns as the sun had also evolved.

I remember at one point Donna Brazille was being interviewed about her role in the leak and all she could say in response was how the information was unreliable because it was found in DNC emails that were hacked. She was very indignant about it. I couldn't find a link to that interview but it was precious. IIRC, the Russians were blamed for the hack but the FBI turned the email server over to a Ukrainian cyber security firm. Duh. Then there was the theory that the hack was an inside job because a disgruntled Bernie supporter was found dead and the FBI would never release his laptop. Can't remember that guy's name. Can't find any links about it. I search DuckDuckGo and all the articles are from outlets like the New York Times or the Washington Post. But there was a helluva lot more to the story than any of them would ever admit.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Friday prayers in the Red Mosque of Astrakhan ended in arrests
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Security forces blocked the exits from the Red Mosque at the Bolshiye Isady market and checked the documents of those gathered, some Muslims were put on buses standing at the exit, believers said, linking the events with the militant attack in Dagestan. A raid was conducted at the mosque to identify violators of migration laws, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Astrakhan Region stated.

As the "Caucasian Knot" reported, several dozen Muslims were taken to police stations without explanation on November 27, 2020, after prayers in an Astrakhan mosque. On the same day, the Muslims detained near the Red Mosque were released home by security forces. The police said that these were measures to search for people hiding from the investigative and judicial authorities. Muslims were offended that such checks were carried out in mosques during Friday prayers. Similar raids had previously taken place in other mosques.

Believers who came to the Juma prayer at the Red Mosque in the Bolshiye Isady market were blocked at the exit. Security forces checked the documents of those leaving the mosque, some were put on a bus parked opposite the entrance to the mosque, one of the believers told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on condition of anonymity.

Today, the security forces arrived before the prayer began, the believer said. This mosque has three exits, two exits were blocked, one, the central one, was working for exiting after the prayer. There were many security forces there after the prayer, they made two narrow "corridors" - and through them people were let out one by one, checking documents. "Many did not have documents with them," the interlocutor emphasized.

Another believer, who attended Juma prayer today at the Red Mosque on the Great Isads, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that there were a lot of security forces, one bus and several minibuses stood near the mosque. “The bus was full (of detained people). But this is what I saw myself when I got out, at the end, and before that the buses could have already left,” he noted.

They noted that the security forces did not explain to the believers the reasons for what was happening, even when they asked about it. Both visitors to the mosque linked what happened to the terrorist attacks in Dagestan. "But because someone did something somewhere, to come to the mosque and do this... It's unfair," one of the interlocutors complained.

On June 23, Trinity Day, which is one of the main Christian holidays, militants attacked synagogues and an Orthodox church in Derbent and Makhachkala. As a result of the attacks, 21 people were killed and 46 were injured. On June 26, doctors described the condition of six people injured in the militant attack as serious. Sources reported that the  22nd person injured  in the militant attack died - a random passerby who happened to be at the synagogue in Derbent. On June 23, the American Institute for the Study of War stated that  the cell "Vilayat Kavkaz"* - a division of the "Islamic State"* - was behind the attacks.

One of the believers at the mosque became ill, as follows from the video available to the Caucasian Knot. As follows from the video, the man is lying on the asphalt near the minibus, shaking with convulsions. Other men, including security forces, are trying to help him: they lift his legs, try to open his mouth. “Look at the language, language,” one of the men shouts. One of the security forces calls to move away from the scene of the incident. “Back up, back up,” he says.

The exact number of detainees is unknown.  An employee of the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry for the Astrakhan Region linked the inspections at the mosque with raids against migrants. "This event is part of raids to identify violations of migration legislation, which are carried out regularly in Bolshie Isady. There are no other reasons," she told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Let us recall that following the results of the raids after the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall, security forces reported massive violations of migration legislation. Thus, in the Rostov region, 46 citizens of Central Asia were ordered to leave Russia.

In Rostov-on-Don, 913 people were checked, of which 545 were citizens of the Russian Federation, 150 people received summonses to the military registration and enlistment office, 39 people were brought to administrative responsibility, of which 25 were foreign citizens. Human rights activists  called  the fight for the legality of migration ostentatious, emphasizing that the actions of security forces and court decisions on fines and expulsion often have neither legal grounds nor logical explanations. In their opinion, sending migrants to the front  does not look like a mass phenomenon.

The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
struck areas in the Western Galilee earlier this evening, the military says.

The IDF says it launched interceptor missiles at the drones, but failed to down the devices.

Additionally, some 25 rockets were fired from Lebanon at the Western Galilee and the Kiryat Shmona area in separate barrages, according to the IDF.

Damage was caused to a building in the Western Galilee by one of the rockets, the military says.

The rockets also sparked several fires in northern Israel.

No injuries were caused in the drone and rocket attacks.

The IDF says it shelled the sources of fire with artillery.

took the stage on Thursday night for a debate that offers voters a rare side-by-side look at the two oldest candidates ever to seek the US presidency.

On the topic of the Paleostinian issue, a Paleostinian living in Gaza, Hossam Youssef al-Araj, said he didn't believe the United States served Paleostinian interests, regardless of who takes the White House in the upcoming election.

"Mr Trump and Mr Biden are two sides to the same coin. Both sides seek only means to support of Israel with, by presenting them with all the destructive weapons from the American administration and maybe the scene that you can see is the biggest proof of the criminal and brutal nature of these American weapons," he said in an interview with Rooters.

The US elections are due to take place in November 2024 with both candidates hoping to win a second term in the White House.
