#2  I remember the M1 having a huge laundry list of issues as well when it was first deployed. The press published them over and over before the first gulf war. The thing is, the Army had quietly fixed most of the issues before the war and all the problems with the M1A1, Apache, BlackHawk and others the press said would cause our shit to break instantly never came to pass.

I have optimism the same history will pass with the F-35.

#3  I would still rather have a bunch of F-22's and a new single purpose built version of the evolution of the A-10.

Is ‘Democratic Socialism' a Cover for Communism?
[Epoch Times] Last month, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) claimed to oppose Soviet "authoritarian communism" and to support "democratic socialism."

Yet, according to Bishop E.W. Jackson, chairman of the new group Stand Against Communism, "Socialism and communism are exactly the same, and we will not allow euphemisms to lull us to sleep."

Who is right?

A set of experts assembled May 20 argued that America needs to beware of both.

They dedicated themselves to pushing back against the increasing prevalence in America of an ideology implicated in the extermination of an estimated 94,351,000 human lives, as of 1999.

The Soviet Union

Likewise, at a CNN town hall in New Hampshire, an attendee told Sanders that her father’s family had escaped the Soviet Union in 1979, "fleeing from some of the very socialist policies that you seem eager to implement in this country."

Sanders, however, attempted to distinguish Moscow’s murderous Marxism from his version of democratic socialism.

He began by arguing: "Is it your assumption that I supported or believe in authoritarian communism that existed in the Soviet Union? I don’t. I never have, and I opposed it. I believe in a vigorous democracy."

That might come as a surprise to those with whom he "honeymooned" in the USSR in 1988, a trip on which he sang "This Land Is Your Land" to his Russian hosts while shirtless after relaxing in a sauna.

#1  The brand of faux socialist self-aggrandizement and fascism supported by leftists is even worse. It may not aim to, but it won't bat an eyelid before allowing things worse than Stalin or Hitler. But they will do it with verbiage that makes them appear helpless, innocent and well-intentioned. Simply let the lawless and the corrupt take over slowly until everything's fucked. And then resign like May and say "I tried my best. I guess it was just America's time to go... sniff, sniff"

The bastards.

#2  The Communists called their nation the "The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics."

A Sov'et is a council, which in their case was a pretense at "democracy."

#3  Let's pause for a moment and listen to (avowed communist sympathizer) Pete Seeger's Sixteen Tons... The irony, at least to me, is that in a Socialism the whole economy is a "company store" owned and managed by the Government. They decide what is for sale, they decide how much it costs and they decide if a bank will loan you money to buy it -- freedom and democracy in a Democratic Socialism is a mirage...

#2  Climate change scientists are saying the phenomenon of over enthusiastic glee is more of a syndrome brought on by... well, changing climate. The same environmental factors caused the Thai team to weep on that particular day and caused the American girls to breastchest bump and laugh.

Gender experts are saying it goes deeper. That it is caused by the sport itself. A male province since for ever, soccer is irretrievably too masculine and delivers an adrenaline rush and a high when your physical prowess humiliates those trying to outdo you.

"It's to do with this ball. It brings out toxic masculinity in even the opposite sex !"

And, yes, if the boys had done this they would be scrutinized too. In fact, between that statement and kool-aid hair I just lost all interest and I like high level competition, daughter and I were going to catch the games we could. I'm not on board with this crap.

#12  Piers can suck it. Americans don't care all that much for Soccer. Maybe we will if the teams keep doing really well. Maybe we will when Football goes away because of micro-concussions. I'm not holding my breath. When we suddenly take an interest salaries will go up (men and women) and the world will look back on the glory days when the US didn't care.

#17  A few more thoughts - Thailand was badly outclassed in every metric - height, size, speed and skill. My prediction was 7-0 but once the 2nd half began the level of physical conditioning between the two teams became eyepopping as well, so the ass kicking wasn't a surprise at all.

Britain
GP 'ghost patients' to be investigated by NHS fraud squad
[BBC] The NHS fraud squad is investigating GPs in England amid suspicions they are claiming for non-existent patients.

Doctors get an average of £150 a year for each patient on their list, but records show there were 3.6 million more patients in the system last year than there were people in England.

The discrepancy prompted NHS England to employ a company to start chasing up these so-called ghost patients.

The NHS Counter Fraud Authority is now launching its own investigation.
Doctors' leaders have always insisted the issue of ghost patients most often has an innocent explanation, such as instances where patients have died or moved without the knowledge of their GP.

It is understood the list-cleaning exercise, being carried out for NHS England by the business services company Capita has started to see a reduction in the numbers being claimed for.

It has focused on patients who have not visited their doctor for five years.
Attempts have been made to contact those patients and where they have not been found they have been deregistered from the practice.

But NHS fraud investigators have been carrying out some sample testing of transactions, which the BBC understands has identified some "anomalies" that have raised suspicions.

The fraud team will now carry out a full analysis of records held by NHS England and the NHS Business Services Authority, which administer the payments systems to GP practices, to see if doctors have been fraudulently claiming for patients.

#3  This is what happens when you recognize GPs and medical graduates from India and Pakistan as doctors and give them fancy social welfare schemes to play havoc with. Getting a medical degree in India is a negotiable exercise for the rich. I suspect it may be the same in Pak. These bright young graduates buy their way into a practice in the UK. Masters of gaming a similar, less trusting system back home, they begin to scam the decrepit NHS. Some are caught and sent back, some can actually not only cost the UK millions but also cost people their lives, being treated at their hands.

Boko Haram kills at least 26 people in Cameroon
[BBC] Jihadists linked to Boko Haram have killed at least 17 soldiers and nine civilians, although some media sources such as Xinhua say the death toll has now risen to 37.

A regional security official told AFP news agency that the Boko Haram attack sparked fierce combat with Cameroonian troops in Darak, an island on Lake Chad.

He said 40 of the jihadists were captured but seven were still missing.

The insurgents managed to hoist their flag over Darak before being dispelled, AFP reports.

Boko Haram's uprising, which has now killed more than 27,000, has spilled over from north-east Nigeria into Niger, Chad and Cameroon.

Arabia
Yemen war: Houthi missile attack on Saudi airport 'injures 26'
[BBC] At least 26 civilians have been injured in a missile attack by Yemen's rebel Houthi movement on an airport in south-west Saudi Arabia, the military says.

Three women and two children were among those hurt when the arrivals hall at Abha airport was hit early on Wednesday, according to a statement.

The rebels said they had launched a cruise missile at the facility.

Saudi Arabia leads a coalition of Arab states backing Yemen's government in its four-year war with the Houthis.

Yemen has been devastated by a conflict that escalated in March 2015, when the rebels seized control of much of the west of the country and forced President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi to flee abroad.

Alarmed by the rise of a group they believed to be backed militarily by regional Shia power Iran, Saudi Arabia and eight other mostly Sunni Arab states began an air campaign aimed at restoring Mr Hadi's government.

Coalition military spokesman Col Turki al-Maliki said a projectile fired by the Houthis hit Abha International Airport at 02:21 on Wednesday (23:21 GMT on Tuesday), according to a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency.

Col Maliki said the attack on a civilian airport, which is about 110km (70 miles) from the border with Yemen, was a violation of international humanitarian law and that it might constitute a war crime.

Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV cited rebel military spokesman Brig-Gen Yahia Sari as saying it was a cruise missile.

Al-Masirah said it was the second time the Houthis had fired a cruise missile. The first reportedly targeted a nuclear power plant under construction in Abu Dhabi in 2017. There were no reports of a missile reaching the emirate at the time.

In response, the coalition launched air strikes on the rebel-held Yemeni capital, Sanaa, which reportedly killed at least six people, including four children.

The UN says the fighting in Yemen has left at least 7,000 civilians dead and 11,000 injured. About 65% of the deaths have been attributed to coalition air strikes.

The Daily Mail has photos.

Britain
‘Extraordinary & persistent illegality': UK's MI5 accused of mishandling bulk surveillance data
[RT] UK domestic counter-intelligence service MI5 has been accused in High Court of violating data collection and storage privileges by storing private citizens’ information in bulk without proper protections.

MI5 has no control of its storage of vast volumes of people’s calls, messages, web browsing history, as well as other personal data that the agency has managed to obtain on the basis of surveillance warrants, which were often issued under false pretext, the High Court heard on Tuesday in a legal challenge brought by the human rights organization Liberty.

House Intelligence witnesses ready to talk Russia
Selected excerpts
[Washington Examiner] "There’s almost nothing about Russia’s interference in the campaign that wasn’t known to the president and the Obama administration in real time, and they didn’t think it was that big of a deal at the time that it happened," McCarthy said. "I think that’s largely because everybody thought that Mrs. Clinton was going to win, and so this took on a greater dimension when she lost."

McCarthy supported DOJ’s inquiry and critiqued what he saw as a largely incurious media. "Here we have foreign powers that were giving information to the Obama administration and we have foreign spies hired to give information to the Clinton campaign, and they’re not particularly interested."

And McCarthy said he agreed that Trump’s friendly comments toward Putin and his skepticism of the U.S. intelligence community are troubling.

"I get it. I’m totally with you. We should look into all of that, but you don’t want to see what’s behind curtain number two?" he said.

China inflation hits highest level in 15 months
[France24] Inflation in China rose to its highest level in more than a year in May driven by surges in pork and fruit prices caused by the African swine fever epidemic and bad weather, official data showed Wednesday.

But while prices are increasing, demand remains weak because of the trade war with the United States and economic uncertainty.

The consumer price index (CPI) -- a key gauge of retail inflation -- hit 2.7 percent, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said, compared with 2.5 percent in April and the highest since February 2018.

The data was in line with a forecast of analysts polled by Bloomberg News.

The rise was "largely the result of renewed acceleration in food price inflation", and pork supply disruptions caused by African swine fever, Capital Economics said in a note.

Millions of pigs have been culled recently as the disease cuts through China and beyond, devastating global food chains and impacting pork prices from the food markets of Hong Kong to US dinner tables.

The price of pork soared 18.2 percent in May, China's NBS said. The price of fresh fruit on-year was up 26.7 percent as bad weather hammered supplies.

‘They will pay a price': Bolton says US has expanded ‘offensive cyber operations' against Russia
[RT] The United States is ramping up cyber operations targeting Russia and other so-called adversaries, in what US National Security Advisor John Bolton says is a response to election meddling.
Ohfergawdsake! Don't tell 'em!"
Speaking at the Wall Street Journal’s CFO Network conference on Tuesday, Bolton said Washington had taken steps to create "structures of deterrence" in cyberspace in order to stop interference in US elections, but what he described sounded a lot like launching a cyber war.
Does the GRU tell us? NO, THEY DON'T TELL US!
Under a new presidential directive, the administration has "fundamentally changed the way the United States government makes decisions about offensive cyber operations," Bolton said, adding that the new approach has improved "capabilities across the board to engage in more offensive cyber activities."

Though Bolton said the measures were intended to "avoid conflict," the hawkish White House adviser couldn’t resist some public sabre rattling.

"The purpose ... is to say to Russia, or anybody else that’s engaged in cyber operations against us, ’you will pay a price,'" he said. "We will impose costs on you until you get the point."

Philadelphia's First Openly Gay Deputy Sheriff Found Dead Ahead Of Pride Parade
[Huffpoo] Philadelphia’s first openly gay deputy sheriff apparently died by suicide just before the city’s annual Pride parade and festival, authorities said.

Dante Austin, 27, was found dead from what authorities said appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his desk inside the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office early Friday.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and the sheriff office’s first LGBTQ community liaison, Sheriff Jewell Williams said in a statement.

"This is a tragedy for the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Austin’s family and the local LGBTQ community," Williams said. "Dante was a person who believed in and cared about everybody."

Philadelphia Deputy Sheriff Dante Austin, a leader in Philadelphia’s gay community, got together with a few close friends for lunch Thursday at a Center City sports bar to discuss plans for him possibly to run for sheriff in four years. [...] “He was in high spirits,” said Terrell Green, a longtime close friend. “I was going to be his campaign manager." [...] But hours later, the excitement had turned to tragedy. [...] Austin, 27, an Army veteran who was working in the Civil Enforcement Unit, was scheduled to be promoted to sergeant on July 1, Sheriff Jewell Williams said.

Ocasio-Cortez, who makes $174,000, explains why she needs a raise
[Liberty Unyielding] That was quick. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has been in Congress a little over five months and is receiving an annual salary of $174,000, plus perks, is ready for a raise. Actually, to listen to her, the $4,500 increase she seeks is "not even like a raise" really. It’s a cost of living adjustment, and everyone, from minimum wage workers on up, needs and deserves one. "Congress, retail workers, everybody should get increases to accommodate for changes in our economy," she says in the video that follows:

Did you notice her mention of dark money loopholes, which members of Congress will feel pressured to keep open if they are not given a raise? Do you get the sense she is telegraphing her own future plans in the event she doesn’t get her COLA? Bear in mind that she has already attempted to game the system by operating a "subsidy scheme" with her campaign manager that ran afoul of campaign finance laws. She was also alleged to have set up a million-dollar private slush fund with her chief of staff.

The ultimate insult is that a short five months ago, Ocasio-Cortez was working as a bartender in a New York City restaurant. According to Salary.com, the average bartender salary in New York as of May 31, 2019, is $25,666 as of May 31, 2019, though the range typically falls between $22,365 and $30,518.

Ilhan Omar Refuses to Comment on Terrorist Recruitment in Her District
WASHINGTON ‐ Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) declined to address a report that found the highest level of terrorist group recruitment has taken place in her congressional district.

According to a Fox News report from February, "More men and boys from a Somali American community in Minneapolis have joined ‐ or attempted to join ‐ a foreign terrorist organization over the last 12 years than any other jurisdiction in the country." The city of Minneapolis is located in Omar’s district.

"FBI stats show 45 Somalis left to join the ranks of either the Somalia-based Islamic insurgency al-Shabab, or the Iraq- and Syria-based ISIS combined. And as of 2018, a dozen more had been arrested with the intention of leaving to support ISIS," stated the report.

Omar, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, was asked about the report's findings on Capitol Hill.

Fitton: FBI Notes on Clinton Emails Go Missing
[Breitbart] Given the FBI’s repeated intransigence over the years in responding to our FOIA requests, I’m not of a mind to assume this story represents simply an innocent mistake.

The FBI has released 277 pages of redacted records that show the FBI failed to produce information from an August 2015 meeting with Intelligence Community Inspector General about Hillary Clinton’s email server. The FBI claimed that notes are "missing" and the CD containing notes from meeting is likely "damaged" irreparably.

The records, which were posted on the FBI’s website, are the 32nd release of documents in response to our 2016 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:16-cv-02046). We filed the lawsuit after the Justice Department failed to comply with a July 7, 2016, FOIA request for:

  • All FD-302 forms prepared pursuant to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail server during her tenure.

  • All records of communications between any agent, employee, or representative of the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding, concerning, or related to the aforementioned investigation. This request includes, but is not limited to, any related communications with any official, employee, or representative of the Department of Justice, the Executive Office of the President, the Democratic National Committee, and/or the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton.

  • All records related to the meeting between Attorney General Lynch and former President Bill Clinton on June 27, 2016.

Included in the documents are February 2019 FBI electronic communications documenting the damaged CD and the missing notes from the August 3, 2015, meeting between FBI special agents and the ICIG about Clinton’s server:

For reference, Special Agents (SAs) [redacted] have been gathering and copying materials from the captioned case located in the Washington Field Office (WFO) CI-13 Workbox in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) tasking from Information Management Division (IMD; formerly known as Records Management Division).

On or about February 6, 2019, SAs [redacted] opened [redacted]-CYBER-1A27, which contained a CD with a crack on it (a damaged CD). SA [redacted] attempted to copy the damaged CD at the WFO Computer Analysis Response Team (CART) self-service area, but was not able to do so. SA [redacted] spoke with FBI information technology specialists on the ground floor of WFO regarding the damaged CD, who indicated it was unlikely the CD could be copied.

What I heard is our free, ruinously expensive military protection, combined with the massively unfair trade agreements that net Europe $170 billion a year (free college for all Americans $60 billion a year, Trump's wall $25 billion one time) buy us compliance with our policies.

It seems this is not so. Why are we paying for them? We're not even getting what we bribed them for. At this point, who can say that Europeans are anything but hostile to our interests?

Hey, I've got the solution. Just call them human shields and we can start murdering their civilians tomorrow. Like we did at Dresden. This one simple semantic reclassification makes it OK to kill as many as we need to fulfil our objectives. Israel reels in Gaza fishing zone as arson balloons scorch south
[IsraelTimes] Israel announced Tuesday it will further scale back the Gazoo fishing zone from 10 nautical miles to six, in response to a number of arson attacks from the coastal enclave throughout the day.

"In light of the fires and the launching of incendiary balloons toward Israeli territory, this evening the permitted fishing zone for the Gazoo Strip has been reduced to six nautical miles until further notice," Israel’s military liaison to the Paleostinians said in a statement.

Over the course of Tuesday, there were seven fires in southern Israel sparked by balloon-borne incendiary devices from the Gazoo Strip, according to the local fire department.

The permitted fishing zone had been extended to 15 nautical miles last Tuesday, apparently as part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and terror groups in the Strip. A day later, in response to incendiary attacks, Israel restricted the fishing zone to 10 nautical miles, where it had remained.

For the past several months, Israel has been extending and reducing the permitted fishing zone around the Gazoo Strip as fewer or more incendiary balloons have been sent over the border.

Such arson attacks appear to violate the reported terms of an unofficial truce between Israel and terror groups in the Strip.

Syrian air defense responds to Israeli attacks - report
[Jpost] Syrian air defenses responded to Israeli missile attacks on Tel al-Harah in southern Syria at 2:00 a.m. Syrian time on Wednesday morning, dropping some of the missiles, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA.

SANA also reported that Israel conducted cyber attacks on Syrian radar systems, in order to jam the Syrian radar.

Tel al-Harah provides a strategic view of the Golan Heights and the Hauran region and was recaptured by the Syrian Arab Army in July 2018, according to Sputnik news.

The area reportedly houses an air defense base, Sputnik reported.

On June 2, the IDF attacked military targets in Syria, after two rockets were launched towards Israeli territory from Syria. One of the rockets landed in the Golan Heights, while the other fell in Syrian territory.

[Ynet] After a one-week respite, sources in Gazoo announced that the weekly Friday protests at the border will be renewed this Friday and will focus on protesting a statement made by US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman that Israel has a right to annex sections of the West Bank.

Those behind the weekly border protests announced that the slogan for this week's protests will be "No annexing the West Bank, Friedman shut up." Last Friday, when Moslems celebrated Eid al-Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan, there were no protests at the border.

    Europe
Three Jihadists, 9 Children Expelled to France from Turkey
[AnNahar] Three French jihadists and their nine children returned to La Belle France on Tuesday after being expelled by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
, legal sources said, a day after La Belle France took back 12 children of French jihadists from camps in northern Syria.

The returns mark an acceleration in the repatriation of children of Frenchies who travelled to Iraq or Syria to join turban groups, amid growing pressure on Western countries to take back their combattants.

The three adults -- a 35-year-old man and the two mothers of his children -- were taken into custody and the children were placed under the protection of the state.

The French foreign ministry stressed that the trio's return was unrelated to the repatriations of children from French jihadist families stranded in Syria. A second group of 12 children, mostly orphans, was flown to La Belle France on Monday, following on a first group of six children in March.

The man and two women handed over to La Belle France on Tuesday were held in a detention centre in Turkey before being expelled, one of the legal sources said.

Another source said that the man and one of the women aged 36 already had children when they travelled to the Middle East and then had more children in the region.

The second woman also had a child when she arrived in the region. She and the man later also had children together.

At the end of May, the number of jihadists who had been returned to La Belle France stood at 277, according to official figures. Many were handed over by Turkey.

Separately, the government has been working with Syrian Kurdish authorities, who are pressuring foreign nations to take back jihadist families languishing in detention centres or sprawling camps in Syria's northeast. So far the French government has baulked at taking back adults, focusing mainly on young children who are orphaned.

Cher Warns Biden: ‘Women Are the Future, Don’t F**K with Us’
[BREITBART] Pop star Cher warned Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant....
to align himself with left-wing women on issues like abortion after the Democratic presidential frontrunner indicated earlier this week that he would not support repeal of the Hyde Amendment.

On Wednesday, Biden said that he would not repeal the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits the federal government from providing taxpayer funding for abortions.

    However,
denial ain't just a river in Egypt...
Biden backtracked on his position, saying just a day later that he believed health care was a fundamental right and that he could "no longer support an amendment that makes that right dependent on someone’s ZIP code."

"I’ve been working through the finer details of my health care plan like others in this race, and I’ve been struggling with the problems that Hyde now presents," the former Vice President said at a rally on Friday. "I can’t justify leaving millions of women without access to the care they need and the ability to ... exercise their constitutionally protected right."

Biden’s initial position drew anger from Cher, who claimed that he had made a "major mistake" in his campaign.

"Joe Made Major Mistake !!" she said. "Women Who Can Afford Abortion’s Should Pay,Those Women Who cant Pay should be offered FREE Birth Control,Plan B,Abortion Pill,& SAFE Abortion. WOMEN ARE THE FUTURE NOW !! DONT FK WITH US FELLAS."
This is 1966-style reasoning. Men are the future too, y'know. If we don't FK with women, that would leave us stuck with each other. The more "hetero-normative" (Is that a word? Really?) among us consider guys kissing each other to be, you know, kinda nasty.
The 72-year-old singer, who endorsed Perennial Presidential Campaigner Hillary Crooked Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away...
in 2016, has long been vocal about her support for the current Democratic front runner. Last December, she said that she would love to see a joint ticket of Joe Biden and Sen. Kámala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, now a senatrix from California and 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, indistinguishable from the others...
(D-CA). "I know Joe Biden and I know him to be a really great man," she declared at the time. "I would love to see him with someone young."

In April, she also defended Biden against claims that he had repeatedly touched women inappropriately, saying that him giving her a hug didn’t make her feel uncomfortable.

"Once spent time talking 2 Joe Biden In His Office. I asked Point-ed Questions," she wrote on Twitter. "As Time Passed I Found Him Forthright,Kind,& Smart. At Meetings End He Walked Me 2 The &Gave Me A HUG. I Was Fine With It,But That,Was ’MY’ Experience. HE MUST COMMIT 2 B’AWARE,& CARE’ABOUT WOMENS SPACE.'"

Fluids from decomposing body upstairs force restaurant closure
[NYPOST] WINDSOR, Conn. — Fluids leaking from a decomposing body upstairs have forced health officials to close a Connecticut restaurant.

WFSB-TV reports Windsor police were called to the Siam Corner Thai Kitchen and Pho restaurant on May 29 for a report of a foul odor and a reddish-brown liquid dripping from the ceiling of the restaurant behind the front counter.

Police say they entered the apartment above the restaurant through an unlocked window and found the tenant’s body in his bed. They say he had been dead for several days.

Police say no foul play is suspected. They have not released the man’s name.

The health department says the restaurant remains closed.

#1  Generally a good idea, but after reading those advocating for it in the article, I'm not so sure!

FYI: In the UK selling sex is legal, running a brothel (2+ sex workers) is not, local councils seem to turn a blind eye to "massage" places unless they do something obvious, which gets them in the local newspapers.

#3  Good luck with fighting the Matriarchy desperate to maintain their century old monopoly on 'legal sex'. It was given because we had no social security or medicare. Someone had to take care of the elderly in their old age and it was to be the family. Thus, divorce was something rare and expensive resulting in financial rewards to cover that cost. Strangely enough the distaff side were the ones uprooting that foundation by championing social security and medicare. Then they throw in the 'pill' and 'free' love. Then they were big about decriminalizing gay relations resulting in Lawrence vs Texas and 'consenting adults'. The difference between 'free love' and the oldest profession is commerce. Ask any male who's been in a divorce, you pay one way or you pay another, but you pay. Thus the position, I don't pay her for sex, I pay her to leave.

You are just writing people off as not worth saving, hey, do your drugs legally now, it's too much bother to try and get you off them and live a decent productive life. Oh, kids are too much work, it's too inconvienent, I'll just have this baby dismembered. Sure you got to sell your body for sex, but your not worth the effort to find something more uplifting to do to feed yourself and your kids.

How far we have fallen from even the attempt at grace.

Justin Amash gone from House Freedom Caucus after saying Trump's conduct was 'impeachable'
[FOXNEWS] Michigan Republican Rep. Justin Amash
...pretend Republican congressman from Michigan, who probably won't be there come 2020...
announced Monday evening he is leaving the influential conservative House Freedom Caucus, just weeks after he attracted the ire of his colleagues by arguing in Twitter posts that President Trump had committed impeachable offenses, Fox News has learned.

Amash, speaking at a Freedom Caucus board meeting, insisted his departure was voluntary. Amash said he did not want to continue to be a "further distraction" for the caucus, which is chaired by North Carolina GOP Rep. Mark Meadows.

Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, a member of the Freedom Caucus, told Fox News' "Ingraham Angle" Monday evening that Meadows and Amash mutually came to the decision after several conversations.

Jordan said the Republican members of the group still consider Amash a friend, but that their disagreements were "sharp" and significant.

    Olde Tyme Religion
Vatican Rejects Gender Theory as Contrary to ‘Right Reason’
[BREITBART] The Vatican has condemned "gender theory" for attempting to separate a person’s gender from their biological sex, leading to an untenable "utopia of the neuter."

In its 30-page text, titled Male and Female He Created Them, the Vatican’s Congregation for Catholic Education denounces an "educational crisis" stemming from efforts to indoctrinate children with mistaken notions of gender fluidity and human sexuality.

The text, whose release coincides with the LGBT celebrations of "Pride Month," says that school curricula are being planned and adopted that "reflect an anthropology opposed to faith and to right reason."

This "disorientation" cancels out differences between men and women, the text says, "presenting them instead as merely the product of historical and cultural conditioning."

Gender theory, whose roots can be traced to the mid-20th century, was "based on a reading of sexual differentiation that was strictly sociological," the letter states, downplaying biology and accentuating "the role of external conditioning."

"When such studies were applied to human sexuality, they often did so with a view to demonstrating that sexuality identity was more a social construct than a given natural or biological fact," the text affirms.

In the 1990s, gender theory moved toward "a radical separation between gender and sex, with the former having priority over the latter," it continues. "Such a goal was seen as an important stage in the evolution of humanity, in which ’a society without sexual differences’ could be envisaged."

The separation of sex from gender led the way to "transgenderism," the text states, according to which a person "can choose a gender not corresponding to his or her biological sex."

In the end, gender theory is marked by a move away from nature, whereby "both sexual identity and the family become subject to the same ’liquidity’ and ’fluidity’ that characterize other aspects of post-modern culture, often founded on nothing more than a confused concept of freedom in the realm of feelings and wants."

"The process of identifying sexual identity is made more difficult by the fictitious construct known as ’gender neuter’ or ’third gender’ which has the effect of obscuring the fact that a person’s sex is a structural determinant of male or female identity," it states.

The letter goes on to repropose the Christian vision of the human person, created by God as male and female, who together image their Creator.
I'm guessing this was written by one of the Pope's staffers, since it makes sense, both intellectually and theologically.

Roadside Bombing In Kandahar Leaves Six Dead
[ToloNews] At least six people were killed in a roadside kaboom blast in Kandahar province on Tuesday morning, local officials said.

The blast occurred at around 9am Kabul time in Dand district when a civilian vehicle was hit by a roadside kaboom.

Two women, two young men and two children were killed in the blast, security officials confirmed.

According to the officials, all victims are members of one family.

So far, no group has grabbed credit for the attack.
    An Nahar adds:
The vehicle was travelling from Kandahar's Dand district to the bucolic provincial capital when the bomb detonated near the car, killing everyone inside, according to provincial police front man Qasim Afghan.

Haji Abdullah, governor of Dand district, said the bomb was placed by the Taliban on a road frequently used by foreign and Afghan forces.

Years of conflict have left Afghanistan strewn with landmines, unexploded mortars, rockets and homemade bombs -- and many are picked up by curious children.

Last month, a landmine explosion killed seven children and wounded two others after one of the victims stepped on the ordnance in southern Afghanistan’s Ghazni.

According to the United Nations, almost 4,000 civilians -- including more than 900 children -- were killed in Afghanistan last year, with another 7,000 wounded, making it the deadliest year to date for civilians in Afghanistan's conflict.

Questions Raised As High Profile Taliban Member Goes Missing in Faryab
[ToloNews] Skepticisms rose after an ex-Taliban
    ...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
designated governor Qari Salahuddin beat feet from a jail run by members of the Afghan intelligence agency, the National Directorate of Security
    ...the Afghan national intel agency...
    , in Faryab province.

Based on reports, Salahuddin who spent four years in NDS detention has rejoined the Taliban on the battlefield.

Following the dramatic escape of Salahuddin, over 80 members of the Afghan National Army (ANA) were also released from a Taliban jail in Qaisar district of Faryab, a development which has fueled rumors that release of ANA forces and civilians from the Taliban custody might be related to the release of the Taliban member.

"People have doubt that Qari Salahuddin was released as a result of a political deal and named it escaping. People know that Qari Salahuddin returned to Faryab and is engaged in his destructive activities," said former Faryab governor Rahmatullah

"He [Salahuddin] was an influential guy in the area. He has power and influence. Of course, he will join the Taliban and will continue fighting the government," said political analyst Hassan Haqyar.

More than 200 Taliban prisoners have been released by government since Monday, June 10.

President Ghani ordered the release of almost 900 Taliban prisoners last week and said he made the decision on the demand of 3,200 delegates of the grand council for peace held late in April.

    Meanwhile,
...back at the cheese factory, all the pieces finally fell together in Fluffy's mind...
almost 400 people have been rescued from Taliban prisons in different parts of the country over the past two weeks.

"There is possibility that similar deal was made in exchange for the release of these prisoners so that the Taliban will provide the ground for voters in favor of Mr. Ghani on the election day and to pave the way for filling ballot boxes, an experience we had in the past and it looks likely now as well," said Nazari Paryani, a journalist.

"So far, nine operations were carried out on detention centers of armed opponents and enemies of this country. Nearly 400 people were rescued," said Zubair Arif, a front man for Ministry of Defense.

The Taliban has welcomed the move but has not commented on the release of civilians and members of the Afghan forces from their prisons.

U.S. embassies defying Trump admin by flying ‘gay pride’ flag: ‘This is category one insurrection’
[THENATIONALSENTINEL] The U.S. diplomatic corps, much of which hails from far-Left Ivy League institutions, has been the most defiant when it comes to obeying POTUS Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s policies, as evident by the fact that several American embassies have hoisted the "gay pride" rainbow flag in defiance of the president.

After the Trump administration formally denied requests from multiple United States embassies to hoist the LGBT flag in honor of "Pride Month," several of them, along with other diplomatic missions, are doing it anyway.

As reported by the Washington Post, several U.S. embassies are finding ways to either defy or show opposition to, the White House’s instructions:

The facades of the U.S. missions in Seoul and Chennai, India, are partially hidden behind large rainbow flags, while the embassy in New Delhi is aglow in rainbow colored lights. The website for the embassy in Santiago, Chile, shows a video of the chief diplomat raising a rainbow flag last month for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

The Vienna embassy’s website features a photo of a rainbow flag flying below Old Glory on a mast jutting from the building, a statement by Diplomats for Equality and a story about a professor lecturing on the visibility and growth of LGBT rights.

"This is a category one insurrection," one anonymous diplomat told The Post.

Previous reports noted that a number of American embassies ‐ in Germany, Brazil, Israel, and Latvia, among others ‐ wanted permission to honor "Pride Month" by hoisting rainbow flags, but the White House denied the requests.

Spooks do the same - see this tweet:

Iraq would restore 15,000 antiquities from U.S. soon: PM
    Normalcy now is become restorable.
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) ‐ Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi said on Tuesday that his country would restore 15,000 ancient artifacts from the United States soon.

"Iraq was and will always remain a cultural and historical center, and we must make use of this great legacy to build the present and future of the country," Abdul-Mahdi said during his visit to the National Museum of Iraq.

Hailing the museum as "a great learning and humanitarian edifice," the prime minister pointed out that about 15,000 monuments will be restored from the U.S. soon.

The museum is home to a large number of antiquities dating back to various pre-modern, modern, contemporary and Islamic periods.

Abdul-Mahdi called for drawing the world attention to the National Museum, which he said is unique in terms of the monuments being displayed there.

France busts neo-Nazi cell over plot against Jewish, Muslim places of worship
[IsraelTimes] Five members charged with terror offenses between September and May, legal source says, adding that plan was ill-defined.

French police have busted a neo-Nazi
...adherents of a philosophy that was seen even at the time as pure evil, which makes them either consciously and purely evil, or attention-seeking ratbags. Pick one, or both....
cell accused of plotting attacks on Jewish or Moslem places of worship, legal sources said Tuesday.

Five members of the group, who were "close in ideology to the neo-Nazi movement" were charged between September and May over the alleged plot, a source close to the investigation said.

"The investigation suggested they were developing an ill-defined plot to carry out an attack, likely to target a place of worship," the judicial source said.

The sources gave no details of specific targets or motives.

Police in the southeastern city of Grenoble first arrested a man on weapons charges in September 2018. The investigation led them to the four other suspects, two of them minors.

Anti-terrorism Sherlocks took over the investigation in January and charged the suspects with terror offenses, including making and transporting bombs and being part of a terrorist conspiracy. The case was only announced publicly Tuesday.

While La Belle France has repeatedly been targeted by jihadists since 2015, a handful of alleged plots involving far-right hard boyz have made headlines in recent months.

In November, six people were arrested over an alleged plot to attack President Emmanuel Macron.

In July 2017, a 23-year-old was charged with plotting to assassinate the president at La Belle France’s Bastille Day military parade. The man told Sherlocks he wanted to kill Macron along with "Moslems, Jews, blacks and homosexuals," and three kitchen knives were found in his car.

In June 2018, 13 people with links to the radical Action des Forces Operationnelles (Operational Forces Action) group were arrested by anti-terrorist police over an alleged plot to attack Moslems.

Report: UAE Paid Businessman to Spy on Trump Admin
[AnNahar] A United Arab Emirates businessman linked to a probe of illegal donations to Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
's political campaign was paid by his country's intelligence agency to spy on the US president's administration, The Intercept reported Monday.

Rashid al-Malik received tens of thousands of dollars a month for gleaning information on Trump administration policy toward the Middle East in 2017, the website said, citing a former US official and documents.

He reported back to the UAE's National Intelligence Service on topics of interest to the oil-producing Gulf state -- including US efforts to mediate a Gulf feud involving Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
-- as well as meetings between US officials and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
's powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia as of 2016....
    , The Intercept said.

Late last year, The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

and Wall Street Journal reported that US federal prosecutors were investigating whether foreigners illegally funneled donations to Trump's inaugural committee and a pro-Trump fundraising super PAC.

Al-Malik, chairman of the investment firm Hayah Holdings, was interviewed by special counsel Robert Muller's office as part of the probe, according to the New York Times.

The Times cited people familiar with the inquiry as saying it focused on whether people from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates used straw donors to make contributions in the hope of buying influence over US policy.
Given President Trump’s decisions around fracking, it seems a reasonable assumption that they did not succeed...
The report was denied by al-Malik's lawyer, who told The Intercept that his client was "not an intelligence operative."

"He has never been 'tasked' to deliver information about the inner workings of the Trump administration," Coffield wrote in an email to the website.

He has, however, "on numerous occasions, discussed various business ideas for UAE projects in the US," the lawyer was quoted as saying.
And have any of them come to fruition?
The Intercept report came after the Justice Department last week said George Nader, a well-connected Middle East fixer for the Trump campaign, was arrested for possessing child pornography.

Nader was a witness in special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian election meddling.

    Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Accidental firefight breaks out between IDF and PA security personnel in Nablus
[IsraelTimes] Israeli troops open fire at Paleostinian security forces in overnight operation, apparently mistaking them for suspects, injuring one.

Israeli troops exchanged fire with Paleostinian security forces in the northern West Bank city of Nablus early Tuesday morning in what the Israel Defense Forces said was an apparent case of mistaken identity.

According to Paleostinian media, one of the Paleostinian security officers was injured. No Israeli soldiers were maimed in the exchange, the army said.

"During operations to arrest terrorist operatives in the city of Nablus, a firefight broke out between IDF soldiers and people who were identified by the troops as suspects. After the fact, it was determined that it was Paleostinian security services personnel," the IDF said in a statement.

"The incident will be investigated," it said.

The governor of Nablus, Ibrahim Ramadan, said that Israeli forces opened fire on a Paleostinian security services building and injured a member of the PA’s security forces.

He rejected the IDF’s claim that Paleostinians shot at the Israeli troops as well, and said the Israeli forces fired at the building "surprisingly and unjustifiably," the official PA Wafa news site reported.

"This is not the first time and will not be the last that the occupation army harms our people, but the dangerous part in this incident is that a Paleostinian military headquarters was targeted," Ramadan told the outlet.

The injured Paleostinian security officer sustained light wounds, according to Wafa.

Israeli forces later withdrew from the city.

In overnight operations throughout the West Bank, Israeli troops arrested 18 Paleostinian suspects, the army said. The IDF said they were suspected of taking part in terrorist activities, rock-throwing and participating in riots.

PA Rejects Joint Investigation With IDF Into Nablus Firefight

[Jpost] The Paleostinian Authority has rejected an offer to conduct a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the exchange of gunfire between PA security officers and IDF soldiers in Nablus.

The incident took place on Tuesday during a routine IDF operation in Nablus. Two officers belonging to the PA’s Preventive Security Force were slightly injured during the firefight, Paleostinian sources said.

The incident, he said, began when PA security officers noticed a suspicious vehicle near their headquarters in Nablus.

"When our officers became suspicious of the car, its occupants shot up them," Damiri said. "The exchange of gunfire lasted for nearly two hours after Israeli army reinforcements arrived at the scene. Our security officers acted in self-defense, and were defending Nablus and Paleostinian security."

During a tour of the building, PA Governor of Nablus Ibrahim Ramadan told reporters that a large Israeli military force surrounded the headquarters of the Preventive Security Force on Tuesday morning. “The soldiers started shooting at the building without warning and with no justification,” he said.

Ramadan denied that the PA security officers were the first to open fire. “This is a very dangerous incident against a Palestinian security installation,” he added.

Burhan Mashaki, spokesman for the PA security forces in Nablus, said that the incident took place shortly after 2.00 a.m.

“Our officers inside the building were surprised by a fierce Israeli offensive from three directions,” he said. “The soldiers opened fire without warning at all the offices of the Preventive Security Force.”

Mashaki said he did not rule out the possibility that the IDF was planning to storm the building to free Palestinians suspected of involvement in real estate transactions with Israelis.

Texas Gov. Abbott signs law allowing kids to run lemonade stands
    [WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Texas Gov. Greg Abbott
... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too...
signed a bill into law that allows kids to run lemonade stands without fear of being shut down.

The law goes into effect in September and prohibits cities and neighborhood associations from implementing rules that block or regulate children trying to sell nonalcoholic drinks such as lemonade on private property, according to the Texas Tribune.

Republican state Rep. Matt Krause introduced the bill after police shut down a lemonade stand that was run by two daughters trying to raise money for a Father's Day gift in 2015. The bill was unanimously passed in both chambers and Abbott signed the bill on Monday.

47 People Rescued From Taliban Prisons In Baghlan, Kunduz
[ToloNews] Forty-seven prisoners were released from Taliban

prisoners in Afghan forces operations in northern Baghlan and Kunduz provinces.

In the operation in Baghlan, 34 people were rescued from a Taliban prison. The operation was carried out by the police on Monday night, the provincial police said in a statement on Tuesday.

Seven army soldiers, seven coppers, three NDS personnel and 17 civilians were among those freed, Baghlan police said in a statement.

In a separate operation by Afghan Army’s Special Unit in northern Kunduz province, 13 people were rescued, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Tuesday.

This comes as the Afghan government released 38 Taliban prisoners in Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
and another 170 inmates of the group in Kabul on Monday.

The Taliban prisoners were released on the order of President Ghani as he announced earlier this month that up to 900 Taliban prisoners were released as part of a goodwill gesture for peace.

The move, however, has faced criticism by analysts who say it is a unilateral decision.
    Khaama Press adds:

prison in Kunduz province and rescued 13 prisoners.

The Special Operations Corps in a statement said the Special Forces stormed the Taliban prison in Aaqtash district.

The statement further added that the Special Forces conducted the operation late on Monday night.

The anti-government armed turbans including Taliban have not commented regarding the operation.

This comes as the Special Forces have conducted similar operations in other provinces during the recent weeks and have freed dozens of hostages from Taliban prisons.

Democratic Socialists Planning To Primary Chuck Schumer With Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
[DAILYWIRE] The Democratic Socialists who launched a full-on assault on the House of Representatives in 2018 are looking at bigger targets for 2022 and 2024, but they still involve the group's most successful candidate to date, Rep. Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez
Dem represntative from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details...
    (D-NY).

According to a report in Axios, "top Democrats" are expecting Ocasio-Cortez to build on the success of the small civil war she's created between factions of the party and launch a campaign to primary one of New York's two senators, either Sen. Chuck Schumer
Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower. Senate minority leader as of 2017.
    or Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

Schumer seems the more likely target, according to Axios's sources, particularly given that he often falls on the "wrong" side of the battle between progressives and moderates. She's also dealt more closely with Schumer, helping to dictate how the Senate handles policy initiated in the House by progressive politicians, including her own "Green New Deal," which came up for a vote in the Senate and lost handily (even though AOC and her co-authors were adamant that a solution be enacted quickly).

Trump says he's considering giving Venezuelans protection in US
[Al Jazeera] US President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
said on Tuesday he was looking into the possibility of granting temporary asylum to thousands of Venezuelans who have fled to the United States amid political turmoil in their country.

Trump said the situation in Venezuela was a horrible thing that's "been brewing for a long time" and his administration was looking at granting Venezuelans temporary protected status "very seriously".

The move would conflict with Trump's tough-on-immigration stance. His administration has moved to discontinue the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) for many countries. He has also implemented a "zero-tolerance" policy at the US southern border.

TPS is granted to people from countries ravaged by natural disasters or war and lets them remain in the US until the situation improves back home.

Two congressional panels have already advanced bills granting protections to Venezuelans.

Venezuela, the once-wealthy oil nation, is facing severe shortages of basic goods and hyperinflation.

According to the UN refugee agency (UNHCR), about four million Venezuelans - almost 15 percent of the population - have left the country to escape its economic and political crisis.

Florida man caught with cocaine on nose told cops it wasn’t his
[NYPOST] A Florida man caught with cocaine on his schnoz during a traffic stop tried to convince the cops that the white powdery substance around his nostrils did not belong to him, authorities said.
    "It's not even my nose!"
Fabricio Tueros Jimenez, 20, was a passenger in a car that deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office pulled over around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

A deputy immediately noticed that Jimenez had white residue on his nose, the office said in a statement. His nose was swabbed and a test revealed that the substance was in fact cocaine, authorities said.

Police also discovered a small bag of powder cocaine concealed on Jimenez ‐ as well as a backpack holding 250 grams of marijuana and 13 Xanax pills, cops said.

Jimenez was taken into custody on drug charges ‐ but not without claiming that the cocaine that coated his nostrils wasn’t his after all, authorities said.

He is also facing probation violation charges in connection with a conviction last year on cocaine and marijuana charges, according to The Smoking Gun. Jimenez had pleaded guilty to three felonies and was sentenced in November to two years’ probation and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.

Jamaa Islamiya Official Assassinated in Shebaa
[AnNahar] Unknown assailants rubbed out Jamaa Islamiya official Sheikh Mohammed Jarrar at midnight in the southern border town of Shebaa, the National News Agency said.

NNA said Jarrar, the group’s public relations official who is in charge of the Shebaa department, was bumped off while standing at the door of Shebaa’s al-Rahma Medical Dispensary which he ran.

He was hit by four gunshots to the abdomen as the attackers fled to an unknown destination, the agency added.

"The Lebanese Army has encircled the location and has intensified its foot and mechanized patrols in search of the perpetrators," NNA said.

Jamaa Islamiya meanwhile issued a statement saying Jarrar was murdered by "the hand of treachery, collaboration and treason as he was performing his duty."

"He was offering social, health, medical and relief services to every aggrieved and needy and to every widow and child from his region’s residents or from the (Syrian) refugee brothers," the statement said.

Jamaa Islamiya is the Lebanese branch of the Moslem Brüderbund, a regional Islamist organization.

It wasn't immediately clear if the killing was politically-motivated. Such liquidations have been rare in recent years in Leb.

The Jamaa Islamiya isn't represented in parliament.

If someone wants to see a truly 'domesticated' muslim population cooperative with the law and politically active within the limits of reason, they come to India. This brings the country immense respect and dignity at any table of islamic nations. Giving India the image of a nuclear capable state that islamic nations (except pak) can see as friend, alienating Pak - truly the world's no.1 exporter of terrorists and criminals.

Education and infrastructure is one thing that aids the civilizing influence of democracy, and to ensure that the rag-head Mad Max existence doesn't become the norm for Afghan youth, it was necessary to set up libraries, universities, film and broadcasting capabilities, introduce some culture destroyed by war and regressive islamist idiots. No group has so far grabbed credit for the attack, but the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....

At Least Seven Dead as Migrant Boat Sinks off Greek Island
[AnNahar] At least seven people died on Tuesday when a boat carrying migrants colonists sank near the Greek island of Lesbos, the coastguard said.

Assisted by an EU border patrol boat, the coastguard said it had rescued 57 people and is continuing to search for survivors. No information was given on the nationalities of the migrants colonists.

But a coastguard source said the dead were four women, a man and two maiden of tender yearss.

More than 300 refugees and migrants colonists have died this year while trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe

, according to the International Organization for Migration.

Greece is hosting some 70,000 mostly Syrian refugees and migrants colonists who have fled their countries since 2015, and crossed over from neighbouring The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

in 2016, Turkey has made greater efforts to limit departures towards the five Greek islands closest to its shores, including Lesbos.

That has led to a dramatic drop in the number of arrivals on Greek islands -- from 875,000 in 2015 to under 40,000 per year in 2017 and 2018, according to Frontex, the EU's border force.

Donald Trump Threatens to Leave Chamber of Commerce
    [BREITBART] President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
ripped the Chamber of Commerce on Monday for failing to support his use of tariffs as a negotiating tool, threatening to leave the organization.

"I’m a member of the U.S. Chamber, maybe I’ll have to rethink that because when you look at it, the chamber is probably more for the companies and the people that are members than they are for our country," Trump said.

Trump criticized China and Mexico for taking American jobs from U.S. companies and said the Chamber of Commerce was "right there with them."

The president called CNBC after Myron Brilliant, the head of international affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, warned on CNBC that Trump’s tariff threats would hurt trade with the United States.

"Well I guess he’s not so brilliant," Trump said, riffing off of the Chamber official’s last name. "Look, without tariffs, we would be captive to every country, and we have been for many years."

Trump cited the $800 billion trading deficit with foreign countries as a problem, reasserting his goal of keeping more jobs and opportunities in the United States.

The Chamber of Commerce, he said, had opposed his proposed policies for years, warning them that they were making a big mistake by opposing his use of tariffs.

"Frankly, I’ve never had support from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce because they know where I stand on these things. I don’t need money, I don’t care about these things. The only thing I care about is our country," Trump said.

Turkey Says Killed 10 Kurdish Militants In Syria's Tel Rifaat Region
[Jpost] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
killed 10 Kurdish snuffies in Syria's Tel Rifaat region on Sunday in retaliation for an attack that killed a Ottoman Turkish soldier, the Ottoman Turkish Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.

Turkey says the Kurdish YPG militia in Syria is part of the PKK murderous Moslem group, which it designates a terrorist group and which it has been fighting for more than 30 years.

    The United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
warned on Monday that up to 2 million refugees could flee to Turkey if fighting intensifies in northwestern Syria as aid funds run dangerously low.
    Al Masdar adds:
The Turkish Ministry of Defense said the operation was carried out in retaliation for the YPG attack on their forces in the Afrin region on Sunday.

The YPG attack in the Afrin region on Sunday resulted in the death of one Turkish Army soldier and the hospitalization of several members of the Free Syrian Army

    -Lurid Crime Tales-
Rep. Omar filed joint tax returns before she married husband
[AP] MINNEAPOLIS ‐ Minnesota campaign finance officials said last week that U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar misused campaign funds in violation of state rules. They also revealed that she had filed joint tax returns with her husband years before they were legally married and at a time when she was married to another man.
    Bro-Fo
The revelation put the freshman representative under more scrutiny from critics who have taken issue with her marital past. One tax expert said that if there is no criminal intent and the issue has been corrected, she’s unlikely to face any criminal consequences.

Some questions and answers about the tax issue:

Q: What did Omar do wrong?

A: The Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board said Thursday that Omar and her husband, Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi, filed joint tax returns for 2014 and 2015 ‐ before they were actually married and while Omar was legally wed to another man. While some states allow for joint filing for "common law" marriages, Minnesota does not, and filing joint tax returns with someone who is not your legal spouse is against both federal and state law.

Q: How did this become public?

A: Last year, a Republican state representative accused Omar of misusing campaign funds, alleging among other things that she used $2,250 in campaign money to pay a lawyer for her divorce proceedings. The campaign finance board investigated and found she didn’t use the funds to pay for a divorce lawyer as alleged, but other irregularities were found. The board’s final report said "there was an issue with her tax returns that needed to be corrected" and that some campaign funds went to an accounting firm.

State officials ruled last week that Omar must repay her campaign committee nearly $3,500, including $1,500 for payments made to the accounting firm for services related to joint tax returns for 2014 and 2015. Omar must also pay a $500 penalty to the state.

Q: What has Omar said about this?

A: Very little. In response to questions from The Associated Press, her campaign sent an emailed statement saying, "All of Rep. Omar’s tax filings are fully compliant with all applicable tax law." The campaign did not make Omar available for an interview or answer specific questions from the AP. In response to the overall campaign finance investigation, she said in a statement last week that she will comply with the state board findings calling for her to repay money and pay a penalty.
