Iran: US botched retaliatory cyberattack, faces 'crushing response' to drones
Measures like these should be saved for the thick of battle to sow temporary confusion and paralysis that would lead to a useful result, like being able to destroy air defenses, etc. Now they have hardened their weaknesses and we'll have to up our game. Hopefully we have the overhead to do this. It also gives them something to scoff at and emboldens them and gives them excuses to go after our remaining drones. I would not have done this unless I was trying to draw them out.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Saudi Arabia's leaders Monday to consolidate support for U.S. dealings with Iran as President Donald Trump formally signed "hard-hitting" new economic sanctions targeting Iranian leaders.

Trump said he hopes the sanctions will bring the Persian Gulf nation back to the bargaining table.

"We do not seek conflict with Iran or any other country," Trump said. "I can only tell you we cannot ever let Iran have a nuclear weapon."

Pompeo met with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss "ways to counter the malign Iranian influence in the region," the State Department said in a statement.

Pompeo also will visit Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in a bid to strengthen a global coalition against what the U.S. sees as Iranian aggression. The sanctions ordered by Trump are in response to Iran shooting down a U.S. drone last week.

The U.S. claims the $100 million, unmanned aircraft was flying over international waters while Iran says the drone was over its territory. On Monday, a defiant Iranian admiral said his military stands ready to shoot down more drones.

"The enemy dispatched its most sophisticated, smartest and most complicated surveillance aircraft to the banned area, and everyone saw the shooting down of the unmanned aerial vehicle," Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said. "We confidently say that this crushing response can be repeated ... and the enemy is aware of this."

Also Monday, Iranian Minister of Communication and Information Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi denied reports in the U.S. media that the U.S. carried out a successful, retaliatory cyberattack that disabled Revolutionary Guard systems that control rocket and missile launches.

Jahromi tweeted that the West has attempted millions of cyberattacks against Iran's military, but that none have been successful.

Trump said he canceled a retaliatory military strike minutes before it was to take place when military leaders told him about the potential for 150 Iranian deaths. Trump, however, secretly authorized U.S. Cyber Command to carry out the cyberattack, several officials told The Associated Press. All spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the operation.

The Pentagon declined to confirm the cyberattack reports: "As a matter of policy and for operational security, we do not discuss cyberspace operations, intelligence or planning," spokeswoman Heather Babb said in a statement.

Tensions have been mounting since Trump withdrew the U.S. from a global nuclear deal with Iran a year ago and reinstated economic sanctions. Pompeo is also bound for Abu Dhabi to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has become wary of Iran's increasingly militaristic influence in the region.

On Sunday, U.S. national security adviser John Bolton warned Iran not to misinterpret Trump's decision against military retaliation as a sign the United States won't use force to protect its interests in the Middle East. Bolton was in Jerusalem for talks with Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif rebuffed U.S. warnings, blaming the economic "terrorism" of sanctions for Middle East tensions. Zarif accused Bolton and his so-called "B-team" ‐ Bolton, Netanyahu, Mohammed bin Salman and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ‐ of pushing the United States toward war.

On the eve of Pompeo’s visit to the kingdom, Yemen’s Iranian-allied rebels attacked a Saudi airport near the Saudi-Yemen border, killing a Syrian resident and wounding 21 other civilians, the Saudi military said.

Saudi Arabia has been at war with the rebel Houthis in Yemen for more than four years. The Houthis say the attacks targeting the kingdom are a response to Saudi airstrikes on Yemen that have killed thousands.

-Land of the Free
Trump calls on China, and the world, to protect their own ships from Iran
It is now the new world baby. Read Peter Zeihan's tweets "The End of an Order doesn't get more official than that" oh and he notes most U.S. states are majority US oil but California is over %50 Saudi Oil and they don't like fracking or offshore to increase their own oil so could face major economic danger from this decision.
[BI]
  • President Donald Trump called on Monday for China, and the rest of the world, to protect its own ships traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.

  • The US accuses Iran of laying mines in the narrow body of water on its border, as well as shooting down a US drone.

  • Trump refused to strike Iran in response to the drone, and is now questioning the entire US presence in the region.

  • The US imports more than 30,000,000 barrels of oil per month through the strait.

President Donald Trump called on Monday for China, and the rest of the world, to protect their own ships traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.

The US has recently accused Iran of laying mines there for oil tankers, and shooting down a drone in international airspace.

"China gets 91% of its Oil from the Straight, Japan 62%, & many other countries likewise." Trump tweeted, using the wrong spelling for "strait."

"So why are we protecting the shipping lanes for other countries (many years) for zero compensation. All of these countries should be protecting their own ships on what has always been a dangerous journey.

"We don't even need to be there in that the U.S. has just become (by far) the largest producer of Energy anywhere in the world! The U.S. request for Iran is very simple - No Nuclear Weapons and No Further Sponsoring of Terror!" he concluded.

According to the United States Energy Information Administration, China, Japan, and other Asian markets account for 76% of oil exports headed past Iran through the Strait of Hormuz, the New York Times reported.

Looking at 2018 figures, Business Insider could find data to back up Trump's claim that 62% of Japan's oil comes through the strait, but not that China gets 91%, as it has a diverse network of oil imports, including a pipeline from Russia.

While the US has become the world's top energy exporter thanks to a boom in fracking, it still imports more than 30,000,000 barrels of oil a month from countries in the Middle East.

The US makes it a mission to protect freedom of navigation on the open seas, using its navy dozens of times a year to challenge excessive maritime claims.

Most notably, the US has destroyers regularly challenging China's illegally claimed artificial islands in the South China Sea, something that noticeably irks Beijing.

Trump's comments come after the US accused Iran of laying mines for tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, which sits between Iran and Oman. Trump has resisted a military response to this incident and the later downing of a US drone by Iranian missile.

#1  the owners of the ships are different than the destination of the cargo

for example, China gets oil from ships owned by companies registered to all kinds of countries

however, I wouldn't mind the Chinese taking a bunch of Iranian diplos and beating them

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Netflix First Arabic Movie Shakes Jordanian Viewers
[NY Post/Ay-Pee] On a high school trip to Jordan’s ancient city of Petra, a group of teenagers sneak out at night to drink beer, smoke weed and gossip around a bonfire. A girl asks her frisky boyfriend to take things slow.

By global Netflix standards, its first original Arabic series "Jinn" hardly pushes the envelope. But when the show debuted last week, many Jordanians were shocked and appalled by a program that had been billed as a point of national pride.

Some Twitter users blasted the series as pornographic. Government ministers vowed to censor it. Jordan’s grand mufti denounced it as "a moral degradation." Lawmakers called an emergency session. The attorney general demanded the cyber-crimes unit "take immediate, necessary action" to pull it from Netflix.

While the government has not made good on its threats, the outrage nonetheless has shaken Jordan’s self-image as a bastion of tolerance in a turbulent region. It reflects a cultural gap between the reputation of the country’s Western-allied ruling elite and conservative Muslim public, many of whom consider it "haram" ‐ forbidden ‐ to drink alcohol, smoke marijuana or even kiss before marriage, and look to television to deliver morality.

The five-episode thriller centers on a private school in the capital of Amman, a bubble of liberalism and privilege in the country. School buses cart the teenagers off to a wide-open desert haunted by ancient demons that make strange and terrifying things happen.
Hence the name of the film - Jinn.

Africa Subsaharan
US Irradiates African Flies
[Mombassa Herald] The Senegalese farmer is certain: Atomic birth control saved his cows.

Arouna Sow, 55, worried his family would starve when the animals got sick three years ago. Their eyes grew teary, their fur clumped off, their ribs poked out, their milk dried up ‐ all because of the tsetse fly’s toxic bite, which kills an estimated 3 million livestock annually in sub-Saharan Africa.

"I can feed my kids and afford health insurance," said Sow, a father of 15. "I don’t understand the science, but I know it’s working."
Lord knows, he needs health insurance as much as food for his children.
Senegal, a former French colony hugging the Atlantic Ocean, has sought to wipe out the bloodsucking disease spreaders for more than a decade. Farmers say relief has finally arrived in the country's western Niayes zone, where scientists have eradicated 99 percent of tsetse flies by sterilizing the males with gamma rays.
Isn't a gamma ray, like, you know, radiation?
The United States has poured about $5 million into this effort, which has squashed the number of trypanosomiasis cases down to nearly zero. It's part of a broader push to harness nuclear energy for good that has stayed on track even as the Trump administration has sought to slash foreign aid elsewhere.
So Trump hasn't squashed everything good? You can see this story originated in the WaPo.
Since 2010, America has funneled roughly $379 million to Senegal's partner in the tsetse fly fight: the International Atomic Energy Agency, a global body that develops benevolent uses for destructive forces.

The United States earmarked an additional $560,000 this month for upkeep of the group's laboratories in Seibersdorf, Austria.

It's unclear whether the investment leads to financial gain for the American side.
So Trump should've killed the project.

Aerial photos help census officials pinpoint faraway people
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) ‐ The U.S. Census Bureau is using new high-tech tools to help get an accurate population count next year as its faces challenges tallying people of color who live in remote places and can be wary of the federal government.

The agency is using aerial images of rural communities and hard-to-reach areas to verify addresses and determine where to send workers to ensure everyone is counted, Census Bureau Director Steven Dillingham said.

Satellites and planes take photos, and bureau employees compare the housing captured in the images to digital maps from the last census, in 2010. It takes a fraction of the time needed by workers in the field.

The agency has used geographic technology since 1990 but has never had access to such accurate tools from the air, said Deirdre Dalpiaz Bishop, head of the bureau’s geography division.

That technology ‐ known as geographic information system, or GIS ‐ uses computers to analyze neighborhoods, land formations, rivers and other data captured by satellites or traditional mapping.

The new technology to improve the census comes amid concerns that tribal areas and communities of color may be undercounted in the every-10-year tally that determines the amount of federal money states receive and whether they gain or lose U.S. congressional seats.

Scholars: Lot's Wife Actually Died Trying To Take Selfie While Fleeing Sodom
[Babylon Bee] U.S.‐Bible scholars now believe that Lot's wife was turned into a pillar of salt after she stopped to take a series of selfies while fleeing Sodom and Gomorrah.

"For a long time the text puzzled us," said evangelical scholar Brett Markin. "Why did she look back? But now it's clear: she hesitated long enough to get a few cute selfies for her Insta."

Experts claim that as she looked into the front-facing camera and snapped a few pics, she saw Sodom and Gomorrah burning and longed to go back to her and Lot's life in the sin-filled cities, causing God to judge her on the spot. Just as she typed in her last hashtag and prepared to upload her favorite selfie to Instagram, she turned into a pillar of salt, dropping and shattering the phone before she could post it.

Buckingham Palace calls pest control after Queen 'horrified' by rodents in royal kitchen
[Washington Examiner] Buckingham Palace called pest control after rats and mice were spotted in the royal kitchen, much to the displeasure of Queen Elizabeth II.

"Rats have been spotted around the outside of the kitchen areas which clearly isn’t ideal," a source told The Sun on Saturday. "Staff, particularly kitchen workers, were given elementary training in how to stop them spreading."

The queen was reportedly "horrified" that rodents were infesting the palace.

"Obviously hygiene is a priority, as are simple things like shutting cupboard doors and sweeping away any crumbs or bits of food," the source said about fixing the problem.

Regardless, they also added, "There isn't a huge amount that can be done."

Elizabeth Warren promises reparations for gay couples
[Washington Examiner] Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., reintroduced a bill on the campaign trail this week, which could mean $57 million in tax refunds for married LGBT couples.

The Refund Equality Act, which was originally introduced in 2017, would allow LGBT couples who were married prior to the 2013 Supreme Court strike-down of the Defense of Marriage Act in U.S. v. Windsor to amend tax returns from the time that they were married. Prior to 2013, 10 states had legalized same-sex marriage, but were required to file their federal taxes as individuals.

Following the 2013 Supreme Court's decision, married same sex couples from those 10 states were permitted to change their previous tax returns from individual to joint, which entitled them to some federal tax relief. However, the tax return amendments were only permitted for the previous three years. The Refund Equality Act would remove those time limits.

Senior Political Correspondent David Drucker on the expanded Washington Examiner magazine

According to a report released this week from the Joint Committee on Taxation, same sex couples married prior to 2013 could potentially be eligible for $57 million if permitted to file jointly from the time they were married.

Expert: ‘Only Matter of Time Before Illegal Alien Voting Is Expanded'
[Breitbart] Elected Democrats will soon attempt to expand voting rights in deep blue states for illegal aliens, an election fraud expert says.

Last week, Democrats in New York state approved and signed into law a plan to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens with the backing of the business lobby. The law allows for the state’s 725,000-strong illegal alien population to be eligible for the same driver’s license that American citizens are afforded.

Already, state officials have said the law will effectively give illegal aliens the ability to vote as New York registers citizens to vote at state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) offices.

US reportedly hits Iran w Cyber attack
[DW] The US reportedly launched a cyberattack on Iran in response to the downing of an unmanned drone. Cybersecurity firms have also reported a rise in Iranian attempts to hack US companies and government agencies.

The United States launched an offensive cyber strike against Iranian missile control systems and a spy network on Thursday amid escalating tensions between the two countries, US media reported on Saturday.

US President Donald Trump ordered US Cyber Command to launch the digital strikes, The Washington Post reported.

Citing US officials, the newspaper reported that the attack crippled Iranian computers used to control rocket and missile launches.

The cyberattack came as the president held back from conducting airstrikes on Iranian targets in response to the downing of a US Global Hawk drone. Washington said the unmanned drone was in international airspace. Tehran said it was in its airspace.
gorb submitted an article from Ay Pee on the subject, commenting:
I would prefer not to educate them on their weaknesses unless we are at war with them.
It’s ok, gorb. According to your article, we’ve been at war with them, and vice versa, for a good many years.

40, actually The cyberattacks ‐ a contingency plan developed over weeks amid escalating tensions ‐ disabled Iranian computer systems that controlled its rocket and missile launchers, the officials said. Two of the officials said the attacks, which specifically targeted Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps computer system, were provided as options after Iranian forces blew up two oil tankers earlier this month.

The IRGC, which was designated a foreign terrorist group by the Trump administration earlier this year, is a branch of the Iranian military.

The action by U.S. Cyber Command was a demonstration of the U.S.’s increasingly mature cyber military capabilities and its more aggressive cyber strategy under the Trump administration. Over the last year U.S. officials have focused on persistently engaging with adversaries in cyberspace and undertaking more offensive operations.

There was no immediate reaction Sunday morning in Iran to the U.S. claims. Iran has hardened and disconnected much of its infrastructure from the internet after the Stuxnet computer virus, widely believed to be a joint U.S.-Israeli creation, disrupted thousands of Iranian centrifuges in the late 2000s.

#2  I think the military has laser weapons which generate little waste heat.

Key is the strength. Your typical laser pointer used in power point talks has less than 1% of a Watt. To cut through a steel shell of, say 1/4 inch it takes, say 400 W depending on the tightness of the beam. That doesn't seem impossible in a hand held weapon.

Sudan protesters accept Ethiopia plan for political transition
[Al Jazeera] Protest leaders in Sudan said on Saturday they have accepted the creation of a civilian-majority governing body for a political transition in the country, as proposed by an Æthiopian envoy.

The compromise blueprint suggests the creation of a 15-member governing body - comprising eight civilians and seven members of the military - that would install a civilian administration, according to AFP news agency.

"We think that our acceptance of the proposal is a major leap towards meeting the goals of the revolution, which are freedom, peace and justice," protest leader Babiker Faisal told news hounds in a statement, AFP reported.

"It will put the country on the right track to create the transitional period that would usher in sustainable democracy."

Syrian military expanding operations to southwest Aleppo
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is reportedly expanding their operations into the southwestern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate, the Syria-based al-Watan newspaper reported on Sunday.

According to the publication, the Syrian Arab Army has recently targeted the jihadist supply lines inside southwestern Aleppo, hitting major bases like Regiment 46, which is located just north of the Idlib Governorate’s border.

In addition to the strikes on Regiment 46, the Syrian and Russian air forces have increased their attacks along the Aleppo-Idlib Highway (var. M-5 Highway), hitting jihadist targets near the ICARDA Farms, Zorba, and Khan Touman.

While the Syrian military has mostly relied on Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s to attack the jihadist forces, their high command has also deployed reinforcements from their infantry units to this front in southern Aleppo.

A source from the Syrian military told al-Masdar in May that several units of reinforcements were sent to this front and deployed to the front-lines near the town of Hadher.

The last time, however, that the Syrian Army launched an offensive in this part of southern Aleppo, they managed to capture several areas before reaching the town of Khan Touman.

The Syrian Army’s success at Khan Touman would be short-lived, as a counter-offensive by Jaish al-Fateh

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Uruguay court orders sale of WWII Nazi eagle from sunken warship
[DAWN] A court in Uruguay has ruled that a bronze Nazi eagle from a German destroyer that fought in one of the first naval skirmishes of World War II must be sold.

Half the proceeds will go to the government and half to the salvage team that found the insignia in the River Plate off Montevideo in 2006 after a decade of searching, the ruling said.

This 50-50 split is stipulated in an agreement the salvagers signed with the Uruguayan navy in 2004. The treasure hunters had filed suit arguing the government reneged on that deal.

Since it was found, the sculpture ‐ seen as likely to fetch a handsome sum at auction ‐ from the ship called the Admiral Graf Spee has been kept in a navy warehouse.

It features an eagle with its wings spread wide open and clutching a swastika in its talons. The sculpture adorned the stern of the Graf Spee, the pride of the German navy.

A salvage team led by two Uruguayan brothers, Alfredo and Felipe Etchegaray, filed for permission to search for the eagle in 1997.

The team welcomed the ruling, which said the sculpture must be sold in 90 days.

"Justice is being done," Alfredo Etchegaray said.

The Graf Spee’s captain, Hans Langsdorff, scuttled the battleship on December 17, 1939 following the Battle of the River Plate.

The Nazi ship, one of the Third Reich’s largest battleships, briefly sought sanctuary in Montevideo’s harbour from two British ships and a New Zealand battleship that were seeking to sink the Graf Spee.

After sailing out of the harbour, Langsdorff ordered the Graf Spee scuttled ‐ he apparently fell for a ruse designed to convince him a large British naval force was awaiting him in international waters.

Several days after that humiliation, Langsdorff did away with himself.

Denmark takes back child of Danish ISIS member
[Rudaw] Denmark took back the child of an ISIS fighter on Sunday who had been injured, in an agreement signed between the Kurdish-led authority of Northern Syria and a Danish foreign ministry representative.

According to Hawar News Agency, media close to the ruling Kurdish authority of Northern Syria, Kristof Vifik, Danish Director of Consular Affairs at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs passed from the Simalka border crossing between Rojava and the Kurdistan Region to Northern Syria to evacuate a maimed Danish boy.

"I am here today with a small team in order to conduct a medical evacuation of a seriously maimed Danish boy," Vifik said.

Vifik said the boy was "in a stable condition".

"But he certainly needs more fundamental medical treatment," he added, but didn’t go into detail about the type of injury the child had.

The Danish representative met with Amal Dada and Abdulkarim Omer, the co-chairs of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Self-Administration, and thanked them for their cooperation.

Dada and Vifik signed the boy's repatriation papers and later held a presser.

Dada told news hounds they discussed the "challenges" the self-administration faces--including management of camps, the humanitarian situation, and participation in the political process.

"Of course the visit was positive, and we hope it paves the road for future visits and diplomatic, political cooperation between the two sides."

According to the United Nations

#1  Citizens should demand for a national register of all persons repatriated from ISIS, a database of DNA, fingerprints, addresses, known family, sponsoring organization etc. ISIS was reported to have trained children between 9 and 15 for execution, torture and bombing roles. Many of these may be below 12, but with serious rage and psychosis issues. Many boys got detailed lessons on how to kill. In some camps, the student soldiers were forced to watch instruction videos on beheading, from how to lift the prisoner’s head by his scalp to where to cut the throat. Yezidi boy returnees described learning how to remove hands, arms or legs as punishment for crimes like theft. Some boys were also taught how to crucify those found guilty of disobeying ISIS’s dictates, a punishment several boys say happened almost weekly.

Germany loses track of 160 'Islamic State' supporters
They’re probably just playing hide-and-seek behind the curtains.
[DW] About 1,000 Germans traveled to the Middle East to join the 'Islamic State' after 2013. A third of them have since returned to Germany. Some died on the battlefield, others are in prison, but many appear to be missing.

The German government has lost track of more than 160 German "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
" (IS) supporters who traveled to Syria and Iraq to join the terror group, the Welt am Sonntag newspaper has reported.

The figure from the Interior Ministry was part of a response to a request from the Free Democrats (FDP).

The ministry said many of the German fighters were believed to have died in combat, however "in rare cases, these individuals could have succeeded in escaping and/or disappearing."

The ministry stressed it was unlikely IS followers would pass unnoticed in Germany, given "various measures (including wanted lists or entry bans), which make uncontrolled re-entry much more difficult."

FDP secretary general Linda Teuteberg told Welt it was alarming further measures weren't in place to prevent potential IS escapees from re-entering the country, "in light of the known patchy protection at the EU's external borders."

Teuteberg also accused the government of having "no plan for dealing with imported muscle from Germany" or holding them accountable for their actions.

"This applies to the Germans detained in the conflict zones, as well as the more than 200 former IS supporters who are now back in Germany," she said. One way to address this, she added, could be strengthening the capacity of German authorities to investigate and prosecute war crimes abroad.

According to government figures, about 1,050 Germans traveled to the Middle East to join terrorist groups after 2013. About one-third of them have returned to Germany, where some have been prosecuted or placed in rehabilitation programs. About 220 others were reportedly killed in Syria or Iraq. Dozens are also being held in prisons abroad.

The former combatants graduated from the Baidoa Rehabilitation Center, in Somalia’s South West State, on Friday after completing an intensive rehabilitation program.

Aden Hussein, national project officer in charge of disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration program at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), said the rehabilitation (DDR) program will encourage more youths in al-Shabaab to lay down arms and contribute to the country’s grinding of the peace processor.

"The ex-combatants undertook various vocational training lessons, among them, electricity, masonry, tailoring as well as welding," Hussein said, according to a statement issued by the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) on Friday evening.
"But they'll all end up as cab drivers"
He called for more support for the program, saying al-Shabaab cannot only be fought using arms but also through training and the reintegration of ex-combatants.

"This is the best method, and hopefully the graduates will integrate back into the community and be constructive in their communities," Hussein said, referring to the program.

The program graduates, comprising youths from various parts of the country, received vocational training and psychological support at the center.

The UNSOM, the IOM, and other development partners have supported the establishment of similar rehabilitation and transition centers in Mogadishu, Beletweyne and Kismayo

Syrian Army attacks Turkish observation post area in northwestern Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) carried out a new attack in the northwestern countryside of Hama, today, targeting the jihadist positions near their stronghold in Kafr Zita.

According to a military report from the government stronghold of Mhardeh, the Syrian Army heavily shelled northwestern and northern Hama, hitting several sites, including the Ottoman Turkish observation post area near the town of Tal Toukan.

The report said the actual observation post was not hit; however, the shells did land near the Ottoman Turkish troops.

Sunday’s attack by the Syrian Army marked the first time that they have targeted a Ottoman Turkish observation post area since they maimed three Ottoman Turkish soldiers near the town of Morek.

Saudi Diplomat to Israeli Paper- War with Israel is over
[Breitbart] In a rare interview with a Hebrew-language newspaper, a senior Saudi diplomat said it was time the Arab world realized that the “age of war with Israel” is over.

The diplomat, who declined to be named, slammed the Palestinian leadership for “irresponsibly” panning the Trump administration’s long-anticipated peace deal without even seeing it.

“The bloody conflict has dragged on for too long. For us the Saudis, as well as for all the Gulf states, Egypt and Jordan, it is clear that the age of war with Israel has ended and that normalizing relations will only benefit us,” he said in interview published in Globes. “The entire Arab world can benefit from this, not only the Palestinians, and of course also [Israel].”

“History and Allah have brought a real opportunity to realize this,” he added.

He praised Israel’s technological prowess, saying that even those in the Arab world that “hate” Israel look to the Jewish state with “admiration over its success in [technology] and hopes to copy it.”

He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s deep commitment to the Palestinians but criticized them for hanging onto a victimhood identity.

“Maybe it is hard for them to separate themselves from the portrayal of the eternal victim and they don’t believe they can survive without it,” he said.

Iraq
Turkish artillery strikes suspected PKK positions in Zakho
[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish artillery fire targeted the mountainous areas of Zakho, Duhok province on Sunday, local officials confirmed. There are currently no reports of casualties.

"At 8:30am today, Ottoman Turkish artillery bombed Mount Khamtiri in Darkari town in Zakho," Botan Sindi, a resident of Darkari, told Rudaw. "The huge sounds of the bombs caused fear among locals."

"The scale of the damage is unknown since the targeted area is mountainous," he added.

Zeravan Musa, the mayor of Darkar, said: "The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
regularly bombs the region."

"Today they launched artillery fire against the mountain twice, the first one at 8:30 and the other 9:05am," he confirmed.

Turkey regularly carries out Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s and ground operations against suspected Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) positions inside the Kurdistan Region.

Turkey launched ’Operation Claw’ in late May targeting PKK positions in northern Erbil.

In addition to Zakho, the town of Amedi often sees Ottoman Turkish airstrikes. Earlier this month Ottoman Turkish jets bombed suspected PKK positions on Kurazhar Mountain near the town of Shiladze in Amedi.

There are 348 villages in the area surrounding the town of Amedi. Of these, 198 have stood empty for the past 20 years after Ottoman Turkish strikes forced residents to evacuate.

The guerrilla group is headquartered in the mountains of Qandil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq near the border with Turkey and Iran.

Civilians are routinely caught in the crossfire. Villagers in Duhok stormed a Ottoman Turkish air force outpost in January after airstrikes killed six civilians.

At least 4,356 people have been killed in the conflict since July 20, 2015 when the latest attempt at peace talks collapsed, according to the International Crisis Group (ICG).

Syrian military’s elite forces send reinforcements to Hama for upcoming offensive
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) elite Tiger Forces have allegedly sent reinforcements to the Hama countryside this past week, the Sputnik News Agency reported.

Citing a field correspondent in northern Hama, the Sputnik report said that the new reinforcements were likely an indication that the Syrian Army was preparing to launch a new attack in the governorate.

The Sputnik correspondent said the Syrian Arab Army will likely strike the jihadist defenses in the coming hours, as they attempt to isolate the Idlib Governorate.

In the past three days, many villages and towns in northern and northwestern Hama have witnessed an increase in violence, despite repeated attempts by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
and Russia to ease tensions in this northwestern governorate.

A source from the Syrian Arab Army told al-Masdar last week that the military was preparing to launch a new ground assault in the Kafr Naboudeh countryside.

The source said the Syrian military is looking to secure the town, while also expelling the jihadist rebels from these territories in northwestern Syria.

launched a powerful offensive in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham began the offensive by storming the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at the town of Jalameh near the Idlib Governorate border.

The Syrian Army managed to beat back the jihadist rebels at Jalameh after a short battle on Thursday.

According to a Sputnik News Agency correspondent, "The Syrian Army forces were able to thwart an attempted attack by holy warriors on the axis of the town of Jalameh in northwestern Hama on Thursday. Several gangs from Turkestan and China attacked the positions of the Syrian Army on this axis, resulting in the loss of more than 25 button men, a tank and several vehicles armed machine guns."

(ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) carried out a powerful ambush in the al-Mayadeen Desert.

ISIS reportedly carried out the ambush along a road in the al-Mayadeen countryside of Deir Ezzor; this resulted in the death of over ten Syrian soldiers from the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Paleostinian-led al-Quds Brigade.

These Islamic State ambushes have become frequent in central and eastern Syria, prompting the Syrian military to send reinforcements to these fronts in order to quell these attacks.

However,
a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all...
despite the influx of soldiers, the Syrian Arab Army has had trouble trying to contain these Islamic State attacks.

The Syrian Army is not the only victim of these ambushes, the Islamic State has also targeted several areas under the control of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The terrorist group remains active throughout Syria despite claims of their defeat by the U.S. administration.

Home Front: Politix
With ‘help’ from his rivals, Joe Biden’s endless gaffes are making him un-electable
If he’d been electable, he’d have been the one to lose to Donald Trump instead of Hillary Clinton.
[NYPOST] Let’s get this straight: Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Failed seeker of the Democratic presidential nomination on multiple occasions, vice president under Barack Obama, giving it a last try in his dotage for 2020...
is leading in the polls for the Democratic presidential nomination because he’s the most "electable" candidate in the Democratic field? A guy who doesn’t realize that I worked with segregationists isn’t a winning message with Democrats in 2020?

This is what you get when you turn to a candidate who has been in Washington for 46 years. Biden was first elected to the Senate in 1972, when the Democratic Party was very different than it is today. As a freshman senator, he had to get along with the big shotship of his party ‐ which included segregationists James Eastland of Mississippi and Herman Talmadge of Georgia.

You may be thinking: Who in the world are James Eastland and Herman Talmadge? You’re not alone. Ninety-nine-point-nine percent of living Americans had either forgotten their names or never heard of them in the first place, until Biden decided to dredge them up from the fever swamps of the Democratic Party’s sordid racial past.

Why, you ask, would he do such a thing? Because that’s what Joe Biden does. He is a walking, talking gaffe machine.

His point didn’t even make sense. He was trying to argue that he can work across the aisle with people with whom he fundamentally disagrees.

But Eastland and Talmadge sat on the same side of the aisle as Biden in the Senate; they were Democrats.

So now his younger, less popular Democratic opponents are pouncing on Biden’s mistake. Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Sen. Kámala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, now a senatrix from California and 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, indistinguishable from the others...
(averaging 7.1% in the polls) declared that for Biden "to coddle the reputations of segregationists, of people who if they had their way I would literally not be standing here as a member of the United States Senate, is, I think, it’s just misinformed and it’s wrong."

New Jersey Sen. Cory Spartacus Booker
U.S. Senator-for-Life from Noo Joisey, formerly the mayor of Newark. Booker is a candidate for president in 2020, running on a platform of Make America Newark. He once wrote an essay on how to grope babes. He is noted for having an imaginary friend named T-Bone...
(2.3%) declared, "Vice President Biden’s relationships with proud segregationists are not the model for how we make America a safer and more inclusive place for black people, and for everyone." New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (0.3%) tweeted, "It’s 2019 @JoeBiden is longing for the good old days of ’civility’ typified by James Eastland. Eastland thought my multiracial family should be illegal."

Give me a break. No reasonable person thinks that Biden was defending or even sympathetic to segregation. What Biden was trying to do ‐ in his own, Bideny way ‐ was to defend not segregation but civility and compromise. But sadly, in today’s Democratic Party, those ideas are just as controversial.

Main suspect in Farishta case arrested
[DAWN] The capital police on Saturday announced that they have arrested the main suspect in the abduction and murder case of a 10-year-old girl.

Addressing a presser on Saturday, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Waqaruddin Syed said the police picked the suspect for allegedly abducting Farishta on May 15 and killing her.

"It was a blind case which had no clue to trace and identify the culprit," he said, adding that the arrest was made after the victim’s mother’s suspicion. The mother told the police that she had spotted the suspect roaming around her daughter before she disappeared.

The police made sketches of the suspect and started a hunt which led to his arrest, the DIG said. The suspect is a resident of Alipur.

When residents of the area were asked about the suspect, a large number of them complained that he was involved in immoral activities, he said.

The alleged killer has criminal record and two cases were already registered against him in 2006 and 2017, the DIG said.

In 2006, he had tried to molest two girls while in 2017 he had made a similar attempt on a six-year-old girl.

In both cases, challans against the accused were submitted to the court but he got the issues settled with the complainants, the DIG added.

Palestinians reject economic part of US peace plan
[Al Jazeera] The United States has revealed a proposal to create a $50bn global investment fund for the Paleostinians and neighbouring Arab states, designed to be the economic engine of the long-awaited US Middle East peace plan.

The plan was posted on the White House website on Saturday, two days before a US-led workshop in Bahrain where the economic portion of the so-called "deal of the century" is set to be discussed.

The Manama conference is taking place despite opposition from the Paleostinians, who will not attend.

Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas

on Saturday rejected the economic plan and the US peace effort, which is led by President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
's senior adviser Jared Kushner.

"The economic situation should not be discussed before the political one," Abbas said on Saturday. "As long as there is no political solution, we do not deal with any economic solution."

'Less controversial'
Speaking to Rooters news agency, Kushner, who is also Trump's son-in-law, said the economy-first approach was "necessary" to break away from the political side, as it would be "less controversial".

"Let's let people study it, give feedback," he said. "Let's try to finalise if we can all agree on what that could look like in the event of a peace agreement."

Fundamental political issues such as the occupation of Paleostinian territories, the right of return for refugees and their descendants (of which roughly five million live in refugee camps in neighbouring Arab countries) and border illusory sovereignty were not mentioned in the plan.

Instead, the economic scheme included 179 infrastructure and business projects, a billion-dollar investment to build up the Paleostinians' tourism sector, and a $5bn transportation corridor to connect the West Bank and the Gazoo

Trump’s plan to cause MORE Palestinian resistance as it’s only ‘toying’ with their dignity -- Tehran
[RT] Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
’s plan to offer Paleostinians a multibillion investment if they agree to a political solution with Israel will convince the people under occupation that resistance is the only way, Iran’s parliament speaker has said.

"While toying with a nation’s dignity is scandalous, this will strengthen resistance movements as Paleostinians realize that they can only succeed through resistance," Ali Larijani told Iran’s IRNA news agency.

"Trump wants to make a deal on the fate of the Paleostinian people" when it should be a joint international effort, the speaker added. "An international disarrangement [around Paleostine] is largely the responsibility of the Americans."

He insisted that the so-called "opportunity of the century" will create a million jobs in Paleostine and double its GDP over the next 10 years.

The Americans have scheduled a conference in Bahrain next week to discuss the implementation of their ambitious project with the Gulf states, whom they want to become the plan’s main financial donors. The Paleostinians have rejected an invitation to the event, saying also that they won’t accept its results, while people across the Middle East erupted into the streets to decry Trump’s plan.

CNN Claims Trump Gets All His Military Advice from Fox News
[NEWSBUSTERS.ORG] Since President Trump took office, CNN has been trying to gaslight the country into believing that the President’s friendly relationship with some of the hosts on Fox News was somehow not a standard part of Washington D.C.’s revolving door (Obama hired at least 30 liberal media folks). Now, during Sunday’s so-called "Reliable Sources", host and media janitor Brian Stelter took the feud with their better-rated rival further and suggested that the President got seemingly all of his military advice from Fox News.

Trump recently called off a planned military strike on Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
because it would have left 150 people dead. He had let it be known that he felt it would not have been a measured response to Iran’s aggression, since they had not killed anyone in their attacks. To that development, Stelter wondered: "So, where is President Trump getting his information, his advice?"

Stelter’s answered his own question with an outdated soundbite from a Meet the Press interview Trump did with moderator Chuck Todd back in 2015:

CHUCK TODD: Who do you talk to for military advice, right now?

DONALD TRUMP: Well, I watch the shows. I mean, I really see a lot of great -- you know, when you watch your show and all the other shows and you have the generals and you have certain people ‐

"’The shows,’ he said. And of course, that was in 2015. Trump was just a candidate then. Now the President commands the armed forces but he is still listening to ’the shows,’" Stelter declared.

Citing a New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

report, Stelter claimed Trump was "taking advice from, among other people, Tucker Carlson, the Fox host has been staunchly in the anti-war camp, advising the president-- pleading with the president not to attack Iran. But there's also a pro-war faction at Fox. Sean Hannity talking about Trump bombing the hell out of Iran."

New Russian S-500 ‘Prometheus’ can hit targets in space
Will the Israelis spoof the S-500 as easily as they spoof the S-300?
[ALMASDARNEWS] The new Russian S-500 ’Prometheus’ air defense system has the capability to hit targets in outer space, the First Deputy General Director of the VKO Almaz-Antey, Sergei Druzin, told RIA Novosti this week.

According to Druzin, the S-500 can be used to combat "ballistic missiles of all types." He said the system is capable of "working outside the atmosphere where aerodynamic control is impossible."

The S-500 Prometheus is equipped with active phased antenna arrays that do not require transmitting devices. It can scan and analyze signals from a great distance. In addition, one antenna can create multiple rays. Beam control is carried out without turning the antenna. Furthermore, its phased antenna requires much less energy, and this is very important for homing missiles.

According to reports, the S-500 is capable of intercepting at a distance of 600 kilometers. Each type of target (aircraft, satellite, cruise or ballistic missiles) will be monitored by its own radar. Each will be destroyed by specialized means. The S-500 will be integrated with the other Russian missile defense systems: SPRN, A-235 Nudol, interceptor aircraft, S-400 and S-300.

Europe
Huge migrant influx scares off Greek island tourists
[DW] Tourists are avoiding the Greek island of Samos due to the shocking situation at the Vathy migrant camp, which has grown into a sprawling settlement. Locals and asylum-seekers feel authorities have abandoned them.

"That camp is our shame," says a teacher on Samos, pointing to a refugee center near the town of Vathy. The camp, set up in 2016 following the Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an Union's controversial refugee deal with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
, is home to migrants colonists waiting for their asylum applications to be processed.

The Greek island of Samos is just a stone's throw from the Ottoman Turkish coast. And boats with migrants colonists arrive here constantly ‐ though again and again, refugees drown in the crossing in a desperate attempt to reach the EU.

It's no wonder Greek locals are appalled by the camp: originally intended for just 650 asylum-seekers, it's now home to about 4,000 migrants colonists from the Middle East and Africa. Officially, nobody is supposed to wait longer than three months to have his or her asylum application processed. But the reality is very different, leaving many migrants colonists stranded.

INHUMANE CONDITIONS
Some 1,500 migrants colonists have settled around the camp, in what has become known as "the jungle."

"We have to deal with rats and snakes, we don't have toilets, showers or access to drinking water," says a 30-year-old woman from Congo who lives near the camp. She says many Greek people accuse people like her of coming to Europe just for the money. But that's not the case, she says, stressing that her country is embroiled in conflict.

She will only be able to make her case to Greek authorities in March 2021. She's desperate, and can't fathom giving birth to her child in this makeshift camp, where migrants colonists receive just 1.5 liters of drinking water (less than half a gallon) and a small amount of food each day.

Moslem colonists Migrants in the official camp, meanwhile, report similarly dire conditions. Women have reported being raped, and endless queues are common. "You have to wait in line for three hours to get food, and at least an hour just to use the toilets," says a 24-year-old Iraqi man. His first asylum application was rejected ‐ he says all Iraqis have had their applications rejected, though he has no idea why. For him, returning home is out of the question: "If I go back to Iraq, I will get killed."
Yes, but your asylum request will continue to be rejected, so staying is also out of the question. Perhaps Turkey is looking for good citizens...
A 32-year-old man from Congo finds himself in a similar situation. He and his wife have been living in the island camp since last October, and they are desperate to get to Belgium.

"Belgian authorities have to grant us asylum; they colonized our country. Making it to Belgium will be like reaching home," he says. The couple left their children behind so that they can first sort out their asylum status ‐ though that's proving difficult. So far, they're still waiting for an appointment to see the Greek authorities about their application.

He says they currently receive €90 (about $100) in assistance every month, of which they have to spend €2.50 euro on bank fees. "How are we supposed to live off that?" he asks, incredulously.

Ocasio-Cortez frantically urges everyone to report ICE sightings, hide fugitives in your homes
[BIZPACREVIEW] The open border faction in the United States largely responsible for the mass flood on humanity overwhelming the southern border issued a call to arms on Saturday to assist illegal aliens who are defying court-issued deportation orders.

Leading this defiant stand against the federal government and the rule of law was Rep. Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez
Dem represntative from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details...

In picking up on leaked media reports on the raids, which Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Mark Morgan called "egregious," saying it "puts the lives of the officers and agents at risk," Ocasio-Cortez shared tips from the left-wing open border group Raices Texas on how illegal aliens should react if ICE agents show up.

The freshman politician, who accused ICE of operating concentration camps on the border, also called for tracking and reporting where the agents are ‐ the safety of the agents be damned.

"Warning: The Trump admin is expected to begin ICE raids across the country TOMORROW, targeting people for round up," she tweeted. "NOW is the time for us to come together: ‐ Check in w/ your neighbors ‐ Share "Know Your Rights" info ‐ If you see ICE, report to @UNITEDWEDREAM 1-844-363-1423."

Multiple fingers pointing at alleged leaker of plans for ICE raids today
[AMERICANTHINKER] The chronic problem of sabotage by babus bureaucrats hostile to the outsider president shaking up the Deep State will never be solved until unmasking and punishment become the order of the day. That’s why it is so heartening that with unusual swiftness, accusations are pointing to the alleged identity of a leaker who successfully delayed implementation of a key Trump policy initiative, the planned ICE raids on illegal alien scofflaws who have defied court orders for theior deportation.

This exercise will ‐ if the allegations are sustained by evidence ‐ help establish a norm of exposing the rat finks that could discourage future saboteurs.

Leaks to multiple media outlets, first reported by the Washington Post, exposed plans for ICE raids on illegal aliens who have gone through the appeals process and ignored court orders for their deportation. As a result, following strong Democrat protests, implementation of the plan has been delayed by two weeks.

Anna Giaritelli of the Washington Examiner reports on the evidence leading to accusations against acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan as the orchestrator of a leak campaign intended to stymie the policy of the elected leader of the executive branch, a campaign that has succeeded for at least two weeks:

... all five officials who spoke with theWashington Examiner confirmed McAleenan's decision to go rogue and stymie the operation was what prompted the White House to call off the 10-city operation. (snip)The sources said only a small number of people in the White House, ICE, and DHS were even aware of the plan’s details, including which cities, the date and time, and who would be targeted.

Two officials said the acting secretary, who was promoted internally in April, had fought for months during closed-door discussions with White House officials, the former acting ICE Director Ronald Vitiello, and the new acting ICE Director Mark Morgan against the plan, which they noted was similar to one the B.O. regime carried out in 2015.

"I know he has not approved of this operation for months," one person familiar with those private conversations said during a phone call Saturday night. "The president wouldn’t leak that. ICE wouldn’t leak that. There’s only a few people involved in these discussions ... The only one who could have shared the details of those operations were Kevin."

"That’s our belief," a second official said when asked if McAleenan was behind the leak. "The secretary was not supportive from day one."

The first official said McAleenan may have leaked it so that he could "be the martyr" in the face of anticipated blowback in the future.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Trump warns Iran of 'obliteration like you've never seen before
[Politico] President Donald Trump warned the United States may launch a devastating military attack on Iran unless it comes to the negotiating table and drops its bid to develop nuclear weapons.

"I'm not looking for war, and if there is, it'll be obliteration like you’ve never seen before. But I’m not looking to do that. But you can’t have a nuclear weapon. You want to talk? Good. Otherwise you can have a bad economy for the next three years," Trump said during an interview with NBC’s "Meet The Press" airing Sunday.

The president said he’d be willing to sit down with Iranian officials without preconditions.

The comments, made during an interview taped Friday, came the same day Trump confirmed on Twitter that he called off a retaliatory strike on Iran at the last minute Thursday night. He said he decided that the potential cost of human lives was "not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone."

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said Thursday it had shot down an American drone, claiming it had entered Iranian airspace, a claim disputed by the U.S., which has maintained the drone was over international waters. Both countries have since produced what they say is evidence supporting their respective positions.

Trump said the U.S. had a "modest but pretty, pretty heavy attack schedule," but planes were not in the air when he called off the attack.

"We’re increasing the sanctions now," adding the country’s economy has already been "shattered."

Trump said he believes Iranian officials want to negotiate and that any deal would have to be about nuclear weapons. He also claimed that Iran had violated the nuclear agreement struck by the Obama administration and other world powers. International inspectors have repeatedly declared that Iran has complied with the 2015 deal.

"They cannot have a nuclear weapon," he said. "They cannot have a nuclear weapon. They’d use it. And they’re not going to have a nuclear weapon."

Trump also disputed that he sent a message to Iranian leaders through a third country, saying he did not want conflict, dubbing it "fake news."

However, he also declined to send a message during the interview to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"Wouldn’t be much different than that message," Trump said.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Refuses Invitation to Visit Auschwitz Concentration Camp
[BREITBART] Rep.
(D-NY) refused Sunday to visit the Auschwitz concentration camp, after a Jewish group had invited her to tour that camp and others this summer to educate herself about the facts of the Holocaust.

Last Monday evening, Ocasio-Cortez compared detention facilities for illegal aliens caught crossing the U.S.-Mexico border to "concentration camps," adding the phrase "never again," which commonly refers to the Nazi Holocaust.

The remark drew outrage and criticism, even from fellow Democrats. Nevertheless, Ocasio-Cortez doubled down, first claiming that she had not been referring to Nazi Germany, then drawing parallels to the U.S. internment of Japanese-Americans during the Second World War. "I will never apologize for calling these camps what they are," she tweeted.

in 2020, said Ocasio-Cortez’s "concentration camp" claim made her a "Holocaust denier." Bill Maher, host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, and a determined foe of President Trump, criticized her on his show Friday evening: "If you want to run a campaign based on reparations and concentration camps then it’s going to be very hard to win the election."

ISIS claims responsibility for Shiite mosque attack in Baghdad

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) claimed on Sunday that one of its Death Eaters carried out a suicide kaboom in a Shiite mosque in Eastern Baghdad on Friday amid an uptick of Death Eater activity in Iraq.

Through telegram channels, ISIS claimed that a Death Eater named Abo Ali al-Ansari had carried out a suicide attack on a Shiite mosque in the al-Baladiyat neighborhood in eastern Baghdad.

There were conflicting reports about the number of casualties of the Friday bombing, and there are no definite numbers. Iraq’s Security Media Cell responsible for announcing security news was silent, while Saad Maan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, also was silent.

Rooters reported that seven people were maimed in the bombing.

AFP on its part reported that there were two killed civilians and nine individuals were maimed.

Sky News Arabia citing Iraqi media al-Sumeria claimed that seven Iraqis were killed in the suicide kaboom and more than 20 were maimed.

ISIS on its part claimed that the attack killed and injured more than 40 individuals in the bombing.

The bombing is part of the uptick in ISIS activity across the country. Despite the fact that the group was declared defeated in Iraq in December 2017 by former PM Haider al-Abadi.

Between 14,000 and 18,000 ISIS Death Eaters are estimated to still be operating in Iraq and Syria, according to a UN report in February.

Sri Lanka
Fear in Sri Lanka as monk calls for stoning of Muslims
[Al Jazeera] Moslems in Sri Lanka say they fear new attacks after a top Buddhist monk called for violence against members of the religious minority, claiming a Moslem doctor had sterilised thousands of Buddhist women.

Activists, politicians and members of the Moslem minority said Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero's speech last week was likely to fan communal tensions, weeks after Buddhist mobs attacked scores of Moslem homes and businesses.

The riots were an apparent response to deadly bombings on churches and hotels on Easter Sunday that killed more than 250 people and were claimed by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. of Iraq and Levant (ISIS, or ISIS) group. Sri Lankan authorities blamed the attacks on two small Moslem groups.

With the country still reeling from the bombings and subsequent riots, Gnanarathana repeated unsubstantiated accusations that a Moslem doctor in the central Kurunegala district had covertly sterilised 4,000 Buddhist women.

"Some female devotees said [people like the doctor] should be stoned to death. I do not say that. But that's what should be done," he said in a speech broadcast on national television.

The monk, who heads the Asgiriya Chapter, one the largest and oldest Buddhist chapters in Sri Lanka, went on to call for a boycott of Moslem-owned restaurants, reinforcing a long-standing and unsubstantiated rumour that Moslem restaurants served their Buddhist customers food spiked with sterilisation medication.

"Don't eat from those [Moslem] shops. Those who ate from these shops will not have children in future," he told worshippers at a temple in the central district of Kandy, where that same rumour had unleashed days of anti-Moslem riots last year.

On Saturday, Gnanarathana defended his comments, saying: "The remarks I made are only in line with what the majority are thinking."

Buddhists make up more than 70 percent of Sri Lanka's 21 million population, while Moslems account for 10 percent.

the funding for the prototypes was mostly Clinton era although some was from the Bush 43 era

eventually, the Bush admin terminated the RAH-66

and notwithstanding the image, the diameter of the rotors was about 40'

terrorist group (banned in Russia), who were planning attacks on law enforcement officers have been killed in the Russian North Caucasus region of Dagestan
...a formerly inoffensive Caucasus republic currently bedevilled by low-level Islamic insurgency, occasional outbreaks of separatism, ethnic tensions and terrorism, primarily due to its proximity to Chechnya. There are several dozen ethnic groups, most of which speak either Caucasian, Turkic, or Iranian languages. Largest among these ethnic groups are the Avar, Dargin, Kumyk, Lezgin, and Laks. While Russers form less than five percent of the population, Russian remains the primary official language and the lingua franca...
, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) told TASS on Sunday.

On Saturday, at about 10:00 pm, on the road section between the villages of Endirei and Karlanyurt in the Khasavyurt district, the security officers made an attempt to stop the VAZ-2109 car, on which two gunnies were riding. "[In response] to the demand to lay down their arms and surrender to the authorities, they opened fire. As a result of the ensuing attack, both criminals were killed. A machine gun and a gun were found at the shooting site," NAC reported.

"The two were followers of the Islamic State international terrorist group (outlawed in Russia) and were planning attacks on law enforcement officers," NAC added.

According to NAC, the killed bandidos were residents of Makhachkala. By the order of the leaders of a terrorist organization, they acquired firearms and a car, they planned to use of the attack.

"There are no casualties among the civilian population and losses among the security forces. Measures are being taken to establish the involvement of the two in other crimes," NAC said.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Abbas: We are ready to return to the negotiating table
[Jpost] Paleostinians are ready to return to the negotiating table with Israel, but with two preconditions: the recognition of Israeli occupation of east Jerusalem and the "vision" of a two-state solution, Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
told foreign news hounds in Ramallah on Sunday.
"NO"
The Paleostinian president said that he would not ask for anything outside of what is already prescribed by the international community as legitimate, including the most recent United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
Resolution 2334.

"I will go to the White House and continue what I started with [US President] Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
," Abbas said.

The Paleostinian president explained that in his first meeting with Trump, the US president spoke about a vision for a two-state solution, telling Abbas that, "I will not accept a one-state solution because one state will be an apartheid state."
That was then...
A few weeks later, Abbas continued, Trump surprised him when he notified the PA that Washington would move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Soon after, US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman made statements that "there is no occupied territory and Israel has the right to build settlements all over Paleostinian land," in Abbas’s words.

"I then understood that Trump diverted," Abbas said, adding that "there is no potential for a political solution" with Trump. He said that the Trump administration talks of a "Deal of the Century," but that "we will not deal with this administration on this basis."

Nonetheless, Abbas made it clear that despite his estranged relationship with the current US administration, the PA continues to coordinate with Washington on issues of security.

"The security coordination to date between us and the US administration ‐ us and the CIA ‐ remains, and we are not ashamed to say that," Abbas told the foreign press. "The security coordination is to combat terrorism in the world. And we are the first people who wish to fight terrorism in the world, and therefore we have concluded agreements not only with the US administration but with 83 states in the world.

"We preserved this agreement because terrorism is an enemy of humanity," he said.

Abbas concluded that the security coordination between Israel and the PA remains intact as well.
