Israeli tank 'runs over injured mother' in Gaza City's Shejaiya: Euro-Med
[NEWARAB] An Israeli tank ran over a Paleostinian woman in front of her son in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
City on Thursday, according to a rights monitor.
Tank movement ~50 km/h. Woman walking < 5 km/h. Tank driver sees where he's driving using multiple periscopes. Woman has to listen and probably turn her head to notice a tank bearing down on her.
Maybe she fell off a jeep
According to Euro-Med Monitor, 65-year-old Safiya Hassan Musa al-Jamal was run over by a tank after she was injured by Israeli forces who stormed her house.

Safiya's son, Muhannad al-Jamal, witnessed the incident.

According to Muhannad, the incident started at 10 am when Israeli forces first began entering Shejaiya, with his mother, three sisters and niece being forced to the first floor to avoid shelling and gunfire.

After sunset, Israeli soldiers stormed the house, with Muhannad saying that they "started firing at the walls randomly and threw five bombs amid gunfire" that injured him and his mother.

Euro-Med Monitor also acquired testimony from his sister Areeji, who said that a female soldier provided aid to Safiya. Israeli soldiers told both Areeji and Muhannad that their mother would go to a hospital.

However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
Safiya and Muhannad were taken on top of Israeli tanks through the neighbourhood to the Mustaha Roundabout, where Safiya was placed on the road. After telling Muhannad she'd be taken to a hospital, a tank proceeded to run her over.

"When I saw the scene, I thought I had gone insane and began to cry and scream," Muhannad said, adding that he quickly fled after an eruption of gunfire.

Euro-Med noted in its report that it had documented other incidents where Israeli tanks had run over Paleostinian civilians, including on 29 February when sixty-two-year-old Jamal Hamdi Hassan Ashour was run over in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City.

Israel carrier says Turkish workers refused to refuel plane
[NEWARAB] Israel's national carrier El Al said Sunday its Warsaw to Tel Aviv flight was not allowed to refuel at Antalya airport after making an emergency landing to evacuate a passenger for medical reasons.

Turkish workers at Antalya airport refused to refuel flight LY5102 before it could take off for Israel, El Al said in a statement.

"Local workers refused to refuel the company's plane even though it was a medical case," it said, adding that the passenger was evacuated.

The plane then took off to Rhodes in Greece where "it will refuel before taking off to Israel", the airline said.

Government Corruption
Supreme Court says Trump has immunity for official acts in landmark ruling
[CBS] The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that former President Donald Trump is entitled to immunity from federal prosecution for official actions he took while in office, a landmark decision in the height of an election season that could further delay the start of his criminal trial in Washington, D.C.

The 6-3 decision tosses out a ruling from the federal appeals court in Washington that concluded Trump is not entitled to broad immunity from criminal charges stemming from an alleged scheme to hold on to power after the 2020 election.

The ruling from the nation's highest court is an expansion of presidential power, since it extends immunity to criminal prosecutions of former presidents for their official conduct. Never before had the Supreme Court considered whether a former commander in chief could face criminal charges as a result of conduct that occurred while in the Oval Office.

Trump is the first to have held the presidency and faced prosecution. He has pleaded not guilty to four charges stemming from an alleged effort to subvert the transfer of presidential power after the 2020 election.

THE SUPREME COURT'S DECISION
"We conclude that under our constitutional structure of separated powers, the nature of Presidential power requires that a former President have some immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts during his tenure in office. At least with respect to the President's exercise of his core constitutional powers, this immunity must be absolute," Chief Justice John Roberts wrote. "As for his remaining official actions, he is also entitled to immunity. At the current stage of proceedings in this case, however, we need not and do not decide whether that immunity must be absolute, or instead whether a presumptive immunity is sufficient."

While concluding that former presidents have sweeping legal protections from charges for alleged acts that fell within their official duties, the Supreme Court rejected Trump's claims that he is entitled to sweeping, absolute immunity from prosecution that encompasses unofficial acts. Such a decision would've brought the federal prosecution by special counsel Jack Smith to an end.

The ruling makes it highly unlikely that a trial will happen before the November presidential election.

Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has sought to delay proceedings in the case related to the 2020 election, as well as two other prosecutions, until after the upcoming presidential contest. If Trump defeats President Biden in November, he could order the Justice Department to seek to drop the federal charges against him or issue a pardon for himself, though the constitutionality of that maneuver has not been tested.

Courtesy of Skidmark, Zero Hedge has a round-up of responses to the ruling.

#1  Thomas's opinion -

"None of the statutes cited by the Attorney General appears to create an office for the Special Counsel, and especially not with the clarity typical of past statutes used for that purpose."

..."Before the President or a Department Head can appoint any officer, however, the Constitution requires that the underlying office be “established by Law.”

..."By keeping the ability to create offices out of the President’s hands, the Founders ensured that no President could unilaterally create an army of officer positions to then fill with his supporters. Instead, our Constitution leaves it in the hands of the people’s elected representatives to determine whether new executive offices should exist".

Uproar in Israel as Head of Terror-infested Shifa Hospital Released to Gaza
[Breitbart] Israel is in a political uproar on Monday after authorities released Muhammad Abu Salmiya, the director of Shifa Hospital in Gaza, which Hamas and other terror groups used as a base, including for smuggling or killing hostages.

Abu Salmiya was released after seven months in detention without charge.

Many Israelis believe he is responsible for the terror at the hospital; Palestinians saw his release as a sign of his innocence, and unfair treatment of detainees.

The Jerusalem Post reported:

The Shin Bet and the IDF have released 50 Gaza detainees, including the director of Shifa Hospital Muhammad Abu Salmiya, who has been in administrative detention in Israel since November 23.

Although Hamas was using Shifa Hospital as a terror base and to conceal hostages, there was never any concrete proof publicly produced that Abu Salmiya was directly involved in this.

Back in November, a senior IDF source told The Jerusalem Post that Abu Salmiya had given suspicious answers when questioned about what he knew about Hamas’s systematic usage of his hospital, but suspicious answers without evidence cannot usually be used to hold someone in administrative detention for more than seven months.

It is entirely possible the release was a legal necessity, if there was no evidence specifically pointing to Abu Samiya.

The release prompted a round of finger-pointing among members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet, who attempted to blame each other for releasing Abu Salmiya — at least without Israeli hostages also being released.

Opposition leaders used the event to attack the government, saying it was dysfunctional and needed to be replaced.

Update: Netanyahu has denounced the release of Abu Salmiya and called for a full investigation. In a statement, he said that “the release of the director of the Shifa Hospital is a serious mistake and a moral failure. This man, under whose auspices our hostages were held and murdered, belongs in prison.”

-Short Attention Span Theater-
The Debate Debacle Changes Nothing
[Townhall - Kurt Schlichter] I had resolved not to watch last Thursday night’s debate because I didn’t think it would change anything, and I was right to the extent that it didn’t change anything for me. I already knew President Crusty was a sundowning desiccated old weirdo. But it changed things for people who were on the fence or not paying attention. That’s not going to matter, though. Joe Biden is not going anywhere.

The fact is that Joe Biden is the nominee, and he will remain the nominee. By the next morning, the rallying and rationalization were in full effect. Obama tweeted about how it’s all going to be OK. So did many others after the deathwatch that was the immediate post-debate analysis on the communist channels. And they believe their revised spin.

You have a narcissist’s wounded ego at play, and he will never back down. For years, Barack Obama has run down Joe Biden privately and humiliated him in public, including by guiding him off-stage at that Hollywood fundraiser like the President was a short bus-riding toddler. Joe Biden hates the idea that people think he is being controlled by Barack Obama from behind the curtain.

It’s ego, combined with stupidity and senility, and that is quite a combination. Add to that the fact that Very Real Doctor Jill Biden and a whole bunch of straphangers depend on Joe Biden being President for their position, power, and prestige. They don’t want to go anywhere either. They have no choice but to play this out. It’s not like they can go get real jobs.

They are telling themselves — and us — that it really wasn’t that bad. But it was that bad because this was the one time that normal people paid attention.
CNN Trump-Biden Debate Brings in 51 Million TV Viewers Across Networks, 30 Million More Online
The Democrats decided to democratize their primary nominating system and, well, it worked. They’re stuck with Dementia Boy. Heck, they must officially nominate him by August 7th or no Democrat gets on the Ohio ballot. It’s just too late to do anything else, even if Joe Biden was inclined to quit for the good of the party and the country. But he is not inclined as Joe Biden has never done anything for anyone who wasn’t named "Biden." He will never sacrifice his ego for an abstract notion of party loyalty or patriotism. Nope, the Democrats are stuck. And it is hilarious.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Georgia man heading to federal prison after 14 years of robbing banks across the country
[WSB-TV2] SAVANNAH, Ga. — A Georgia man is heading back to federal prison after 14 years of robbing banks caught up to him.

David Wayne Stanley, 59, pleaded guilty to robbing a Savannah bank in October 2023. After his guilty plea, he was sentenced to 13 years and four months in federal prison and to pay $6,677 in restitution. After that, he’ll also have to serve another year in prison for committing the robbery while he was on supervised release for another bank robbery.

Prosecutors say that Stanley walked into a Wells Fargo bank and told two tellers that he had a gun and demanded the cash from their drawers. Investigators were able to identify the getaway car as Stanley’s and arrested at his home.

It’s not the first time he’s been convicted of robbing a bank.

He previously served a state sentence in Texas for robbing seven banks in 2009. In 2016, he was sentenced to federal prison for another Savannah bank robbery, which he was on supervised release for at the time of the 2023 robbery.

Stanley also faced multiple charges in Texas for more robberies in the days leading up to the 2023 robbery, but has not been convicted of those.

"Stanley’s prior prison time was apparently not enough of a teaching moment for him because he returned to his bank robbing ways while he was still on parole for the last bank robbery he committed," said Will Clarke, Senior Supervisory Special Agent of FBI Atlanta’s Savannah office.

Cock-up or conspiracy? Thoughts on Joe Biden's spectacular debate failure
[eugyppius: a plague chronicle] For years, the establishment press have told us there is nothing at all wrong with Joe Biden, that he’s extremely sharp, even a wise statesmen, and that rumours of his senility are a malicious right-wing conspiracy theory.

On 2 February 2024, for example, Welt assured us that "No, Joe Biden is not senile":
Recently, Joe Biden gave a speech that even sceptics had to admit was pretty brilliant. He recalled that his predecessor in office, Donald Trump, called fallen US soldiers "suckers" and "losers" and refused to visit an American military cemetery in France: "How dare he," said Biden quietly ... "If I see one loser here, it's Donald Trump."

A memorable moment. But it was not Joe Biden's first outstanding speech: Who could forget how he reacted in Tel Aviv to the pogrom of 7 October 2023? "I come to Israel today with a single message," he said at the time. "You are not alone. You are not alone." Also unforgettable is the appeal Joe Biden made to Congress in February 2022 after Russian troops invaded Ukraine, murdering and raping people.

It must also be reported that Joe Biden is sporty: He has repeatedly been spotted cycling along the Potomac; he sometimes enters podiums with an athletic leap ... Yes, he is a sprightly old gentleman. Sometimes he’s slow; sometimes he shuffles a little as he walks. Now and again he is doddery. So what? He’s still in surprisingly good condition for an 81-year-old.

So why does the myth persist that Joe Biden is senile? In fact there is only one piece of evidence in favour of this this assumption: he mumbles. If you do some research on YouTube, however, you’ll realise that he has always mumbled. It’s not a state secret where the mumbling comes from - Joe Biden is a stutterer, and like most stutterers of his generation, he has learned to hide his speech impediment behind a hasty rush of words. That’s it. That’s all there is to the rumour about Biden’s senility.

It’s not difficult to find out who started the false report that Biden is senile and won't be around much longer: It’s radical right-wing propaganda ...

[B]ut why does German journalism cling so faithfully to the narrative of Joe Biden’s frailty? Is it anti-Americanism? Stupidity? Is the realisation that a competent and fairly wise old man sits in the White House unbearable? Or do the Germans not forgive the Americans for the fact that they are about to bring about an energy transition that - unlike the German stillbirth - threatens to be a huge success?

On 30 April 2024, Der Spiegel brought in an "expert" to explain that "If Joe Biden were senile, rivals would be lining up to challenge him":

Venezuelan gang smuggles guns into NYC migrant shelters in food delivery bags, accused cop-shooter admits
[NYP] Amigrant accused of shooting two NYPD officers claimed a vicious Venezuelan gang is smuggling guns into shelters by stuffing them in food delivery bags, prosecutors revealed Wednesday.

Bernardo Raul Castro Mata, 19, will be placed in protective custody after his explosive accusations against the notorious Tren de Aragua gang during a Queens criminal court hearing.

Castro Mata told cops in hospital-bed confessions that he’s a member of the gang and was directed to commit robberies, according to audio recordings read by prosecutors.

Ex-Trump official lauds Supreme Court ruling on Jan. 6 riot cases: ‘Absolutely right'
See also here.
[HILL] Former Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker (R) said the Supreme Court was "absolutely right" in blocking the Department of Justice (DOJ) from charging Jan. 6 rioters with obstruction.

Whitaker, who served as former President Trump’s acting attorney general for three months in 2018 after Jeff Sessions vacated the role at the president’s request, said he viewed the Jan. 6 obstruction charges as an overstep from the DOJ.

"I think the Supreme Court was absolutely right and that the Department of Justice has really been overly aggressive trying to get every possible charge stacked on in those cases," he said during a Saturday appearance on Fox News.

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on Friday that the DOJ could no longer use a gap left by an Enron-era law to charge Jan. 6 rioters with obstruction. The law made it a crime to "corruptly" obstruct, impede or interfere with official inquiries and investigations by Congress.

The justices did not rule on ideological lines, with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson joining conservatives in the assent and Justice Amy Coney Barrett dissenting with the two remaining liberal justices.

In her dissent, Barrett took a jab at the fact that Congress likely did not have a riot in mind when writing the obstruction law.

"Who could blame Congress for that failure of imagination?" she said.

The ruling’s effects will vary, but for defendants who have yet to be convicted under an obstruction charge, the DOJ will be unable to make the case.

A John Wayne flop has been linked to high cancer rates. A new documentary aims to tell the community's story.
[HILL] The 1956 movie "The Conqueror" is infamous among cinephiles, both for its casting of John Wayne as the Mongolian warlord Genghis Khan and for a suspicious number of deaths that followed its filming downwind of a nuclear test site. Nearly 70 years later, the makers of the documentary "The Conqueror: Hollywood Fallout" hope to tell the story of the affected "downwinder" community in St. George, Utah, near where the film shot as their federal compensation for radiation exposure is on the line.

At the time "The Conqueror" filmed in the Utah desert just outside the town, St. George was 137 miles downwind from the Nevada Test Site, where the federal government conducted more than 900 nuclear tests.

The Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) for years insisted to locals there was no danger, and when ranchers’ sheep began mysteriously dying, the federal government blamed it on the ranchers’ negligence.

But after the movie was shot, observers noted the high rate of cancer among people involved with the filming: 91 of 220 crew members developed the illness, and 46 died. Director Dick Powell and stars Wayne, Susan Hayward and Agnes Moorehead all eventually died of cancer as well, while Pedro Armendáriz Sr., an accomplished Mexican actor and the only nonwhite member of the film’s main cast, died by suicide when his cancer became terminal.

Local Paiute Native Americans were used as extras for crowd and battle scenes, but no records were kept of cancer rates among them.

#4  St. George sits at the top of the Virgin River canyon on the Colorado Plateau which rises approx 2000 ft from the Nevada desert.

The river channel serves as a chimney for the hot desert air which rises to the high desert plateau passing thru Hurricane UT, gateway to Zion and the Great Basin national parks.

"In the early 1950s, St. George received the brunt of the fallout of above-ground nuclear testing at the Yucca Flats/Nevada Test Site northwest of Las Vegas. Winds routinely carried the fallout of these tests directly through the St. George and southern Utah area."

Amy Coney Barrett Acts Clueless About Hunter Biden's Laptop
[Federalist] Justice Amy Coney Barrett painted Big Tech’s suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop stories four years ago as a safeguard against foreign interference in an official Supreme Court ruling on Wednesday.

In what could have been a landmark censorship case, Barrett, who wrote the majority opinion in Murthy v. Missouri, characterized tech giants’ reactionary censorship of the laptop story as a good-faith effort to minimize Russian meddling in the 2020 election.

After summarizing social media companies’ content moderation programs throughout the coronavirus epidemic, Barrett wrote "platforms also applied their misinformation policies during the 2020 Presidential election season."

Retreat Behavioral Health recently plagued by top executive suicides
[BLAZE] Employees at Retreat Behavioral Health have been left without answers after a number of facilities closed down after the sudden suicide of two top executives, according to the Daily Mail.

The rehabilitation company has locations in Connecticut, Florida, and Philadelphia, but they suddenly closed down their facility in Palm Beach, Florida, last week. Employees were reportedly told that about 100 mental health and substance use patients were told to pack up and leave the facility. Thirty of the 100 patients were said to have nowhere to go.

The Connecticut and Pennsylvania locations were also abruptly shut down after the deaths of CEO Peter Schorr and CAO Scott Korogodsky, according to the report. Two Shot Dead by Illegal Alien at Texas Chick-fil-A
[PJ] A 37-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador was arrested after shooting and killing two employees at a Chick-fil-A in Irving, Texas, on Wednesday, say local authorities.

The Irving Police Department identified the shooter as Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta. He opened fire on workers at the establishment at around 3:40 PM local time on June 26.

The illegal alien from El Salvador has been charged with multiple counts of capital homicide for the incident at the Chick-fil-A, according to police.

Federal immigration authorities confirmed that Mendoza Argueta was in the United States illegally.

Officers responding to the scene found two critically injured victims inside the Chick-fil-A building, but both were shortly pronounced dead at the scene by EMTs who arrived immediately after the shootings.

Biden Crime Family ‘united' in urging president to stay in 2024 race
[Washington Examiner] President Joe Biden’s family is united in urging the president to stay in the 2024 race, a source familiar told the Washington Examiner.

The show of support from Biden’s family came during a family gathering at Camp David on Sunday for a trip that was announced before the president’s widely criticized debate performance against former President Donald Trump on Thursday. Earlier reports indicated that while conversations about the future of Biden’s campaign were expected, they were not part of a formal meeting between the Biden family.

Biden’s debate performance exacerbated concerns about his cognitive ability and age, and sent Democrats into a frenzy about whether or not Biden should be the party’s nominee in 2024.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: June 30, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 22:18 In Kiev, in the Obolonsky district, five people were injured as a result of today’s attack - they turned to doctors with an acute stress reaction, one person was hospitalized, the prosecutor’s office reported. The head of the KGVA, Sergei Popko, noted that today’s missile attack on the capital differs from recent air attacks. In particular, the enemy did not strike in the dark, nor with combined or massive shelling. According to Popko, Russia is testing new tactics - looking for the exact time, methods and means to hit Kyiv, since the capital of Ukraine "has always been and will be one of the highest priority targets" for the Russians.

20:07 Russia launched a missile strike on Kiev - as a result of falling debris in the Obolonsky district, a multi-story residential building was damaged, information about the victims is being clarified, KGVA reported.

19:16 The Russians hit the center of Kharkov with a KAB, hitting the Nova Poshta terminal, said Oleg Sinegubov, head of the OBA. One person was killed and nine were injured, including an eight-month-old child.

18:33 On Monday, July 1, measures to limit electricity consumption will be applied throughout the day, Ukrenergo reported.

18:19 Russia is forcibly holding more than 14,000 Ukrainian civilians, Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets said. "We cannot change them, we have no direct additional influence on the Russian Federation. We do not even have a legal basis on which we can conduct this process," he noted. However, according to the Human Rights Commissioner, Ukraine is currently working on the return of almost 20,000 children and "tens of thousands" of Ukrainians who are considered missing.

17:41 Zelensky in an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer named the conditions under which Ukraine is ready to end the war. According to him, it is necessary "to prevent the destruction of Ukraine" and also "to ensure that aggression cannot be repeated," which will require Ukraine's admission to the EU and NATO. "If we do not have this, I believe there are great risks for us that this enemy will return... We need collective defense of Ukraine," the president emphasized.

Zelensky also acknowledged that Ukraine and the West have different understandings of victory in this war. Thus, the West wants to preserve Ukraine, but does not want the collapse of Russia or the replacement of Putin in the Kremlin, since then "things could get worse." Ukraine, according to Zelensky, needs "satisfaction."

"For us, the final victory... is a moment of satisfaction. Do you understand? These are different things. If for the West the main victory is not to allow Ukraine to be occupied, but everyone is afraid that Russia will fall apart. I hear these messages. Everyone is afraid of what will happen to Russia without Putin, everyone is afraid whether it can remain as it is and not become even worse, and so on," the president explained. At the same time, he emphasized that "satisfaction is important, justice is needed," because Ukraine "needs to remain a united nation" even after the war.

17:20 At dawn, the Russian army launched an air strike with ten guided bombs on populated areas of the Kherson and Berislav districts, the National Police reported. In Prydniprovsk, six multi-story buildings and a kindergarten were damaged, five people were injured. In addition, in the morning, the Russians attacked Berislav from a drone, one person was killed.

16:58 The potential negotiations with Russia could use a model of mediation by countries, as in the course of the grain corridor agreements, Zelensky said in an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Trudy Rubin. He recalled that at that time Ukraine negotiated not with Russia, but with the UN and Turkey, which, in turn, took responsibility in a trilateral agreement with Kiev, and then signed an agreement with Moscow. According to the president, a similar model could be used in matters of territorial integrity, energy, free navigation, and mediators could be not only the United States and European countries, but also countries from different continents, including Asia, the Pacific region, Africa and Latin America.

Zelensky also said that in the hottest sectors of the front, in particular in the Kharkov and Pokrovsky directions, the ratio of losses is six Russians to one Ukrainian.

In addition, the head of state admitted that the United States does not currently support inviting Ukraine to NATO. In his opinion, this is being done so as not to irritate Putin. “We understand that the White House is not ready to give us an invitation. They talk about it openly. President Biden talks about it. And Trump says that if it weren’t for NATO, the war might not have started. You and I hear both opinions of the two parties. And this suggests that everyone does not see Ukraine in NATO today,” Zelensky added.

11:17 Electricity shortages will continue in Ukraine until 2026, according to the memorandum that Ukraine signed with the IMF. The average energy deficit in 2024 is expected to be approximately 10%, which will gradually decrease throughout 2025 and early 2026. “An increase in tariffs for the population by an average of 60% from June 1 should also stimulate changes in consumption patterns and provide additional income to energy companies,” the memorandum says.

10:39 The number of victims as a result of yesterday's Russian attack on Volnyansk, Zaporozhye region, increased to 36, seven people died, the National Police reported. Nine children were among the victims.

09:16 In the Donetsk region over the past 24 hours, eight people were killed as a result of Russian shelling: three in Zarechny, one each in Slavyansk, New York, Kurakhovka, Konstantinovka, Pivnichny. Another 14 people in the region were injured during the day, said the head of the OVA, Vadim Filashkin.

22:07 The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopted a resolution recognizing Russia’s actions as genocide of the Ukrainian people and the need for decolonization of the Russian Federation, said member of the parliamentary delegation Pavel Frolov. The document, in particular, calls on the 53 OSCE participating countries to make efforts to de-occupy Crimea and all occupied territories of Ukraine by supporting the Peace Formula and the Crimean Platform. In addition, the OSCE PA calls for the creation of a special tribunal to hold the Russian Federation accountable for crimes committed during the aggressive war against Ukraine.

WATCH: Chinese Rocket Crashes into Mountain After Accidental Launch
[Breitbart] A rocket belonging to a Chinese civilian aerospace manufacturer crashed into a mountain after accidentally launching Sunday, the company announced.

Space Pioneer, also known as Beijing Tianbing Technology, was attempting a ground test with their Tianlong-3 rocket when a “structural failure” caused it to separate from the launch pad, a statement obtained by CNN said.

“Due to the structural failure of the connection between the rocket body and the test platform, the first-stage rocket was separated from the launch pad,” the company stated.

“After liftoff, the onboard computer was automatically shut down, and the rocket fell into the deep mountains 1.5 kilometers [0.9 miles] southwest of the test platform. The rocket body fell into the mountain and disintegrated.”

Videos shared on social media by onlookers shows the moment the rocket was launched before falling and causing a fiery explosion:

Noted the interesting chosen launch area itself.

Compare that to most US ICBM sites in the wide open fields. It was surrounded by mountains and hills. Thus making it a difficult target to take out in a Preemptive or EMP situation.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Migrant Accused of Raping Girl Freed on $500 Bail
[Breitbart] A Haitian migrant accused of raping a 15-year-old girl months ago has since been released from jail on $500 bail in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts.

Cory Alvarez, a 26-year-old migrant from Haiti, was arrested and charged in March and indicted with aggravated rape of a child under 16 years old in Rockland, Massachusetts.

According to police, Alvarez was living at a taxpayer-funded migrant shelter when he invited the 15-year-old girl over to his room. The girl told police Alvarez promised to help her open apps on her tablet but instead, he allegedly raped her as she tried to get him to stop.

Alvarez was being held without bail in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents requested custody of him if he were released at any time.

Last week, Alvarez was released from jail on a $500 bail after the Plymouth County Superior Court refused to set bail at $25,000 as requested by prosecutors.

The ICE detainer against Alvarez was ignored and even though the migrant is being monitored by law enforcement with an ankle monitor, his whereabouts are not being shared with federal immigration authorities thanks to Massachusetts’s sanctuary state policy.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey (D) has long defended sanctuary jurisdictions. As attorney general, for example, she ridiculed former President Donald Trump’s initiative to strip federal funds from cities and towns that protected criminal illegal aliens from federal immigration enforcement.

Outrage: Philadelphia Airport Adds Hidden 3% Surcharge To Every Purchase
As if you needed yet another reason NOT to fly commercial.
[View From The Wing] The Philadelphia airport made a decision this year to allow concessions operators to charge passengers more than their posted prices. They’re now allowed to add a 3% surcharge onto whatever you buy.

  • This is "to offset the employee wages and benefits" that must be paid to airport workers
  • But this is not money that goes to employees.

You might ask, why allow vendors to charge people more than the marked prices, instead of just raising prices?

  • The airport doesn’t allow them to raise prices, because they have price caps ("Operators are only permitted to charge up to 15% more than a comparable street-side unit")
  • Vendors who already charge more than comparable stores off-airport aren’t allowed to raise prices
  • So they pretend that a surcharge isn’t a price increase

Of course, stores off-airport have been raising prices as the country generally has experienced about 20% inflation over the past four years. Airport vendors have raised prices, too. And since the price cap is based on a percentage over ‘street pricing’ the dollar amount of the gap between outside prices and airport prices has grown, too.

The airport wants to allow prices to rise, but chooses not to allow the percentage gap to grow. They’d rather hide the growth in an opaque ‘surcharge’.

#1  "Now, each vendor is required to inform customers of the surcharge… but it doesn’t have to be on hanging menu boards for instance, instead just at “point-of-sale register counter cards” and “on all printed receipts” (so you’re told about the surcharge after you’ve already been charged)."

In Germany that would definitely be illegal.

Insurrection-Lite: The Supreme Court Downsizes the 'Insurrection' to Trespassing
See also here. Long. A taste:
[Jonathan Turley] Still waiting for release of all political prisoners...
Below is my column in the Hill on the Supreme Court decision on Friday in Fischer v. U.S. to reject hundreds of charges in January 6th cases for the obstruction of legal proceedings. For many cases, that will leave relatively minor offenses like trespass or unlawful entry. It is only the latest blow to efforts to portray the riot as a massive conspiracy to overthrow the government. While portrayed by pundits and press in strictly ideological terms, it actually produced an interesting line up with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson voting with the majority and Justice Amy Coney Barrett voting in dissent.

    Here is the column:

The Supreme Court’s decision on Friday in Fischer v. U.S. struck down one of the most common charges against January 6 defendants. “Obstruction of an official proceeding” had been used in hundreds of cases, and those convictions are now invalid.

But the biggest impact of the decision may occur elsewhere.

For years, calling January 6 an “insurrection” has been a litmus test for press, pundits and politicians. Members of Congress such as Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) claimed a conspiracy of “armed and organized insurrectionists.” The claim is legally absurd but politically advantageous.

It now seems like the insurrection increasingly looks more like a legal case of mass trespass and unlawful entry.

I have always believed that criminal charges were warranted for the riot of Jan. 6, 2021. But this week’s decision shows how the Justice Department has wrongly prosecuted hundreds of people for the obstruction crime. It was all part of what Justice Department official Michael Sherwin proudly declared in a television interview, that “our office wanted to ensure that there was shock and awe…it worked because we saw through media posts that people were afraid to come back to D.C. because they’re, like, ‘If we go there, we’re gonna get charged.’ …We wanted to take out those individuals that essentially were thumbing their noses at the public for what they did.”

The Fischer opinion will bring an end to a minority of cases that were based entirely on the charge under 1512(c)(2). The section had been enacted after the Enron scandal in 2001 with the collapse of an energy company accused of corporate fraud. It was designed to allow criminal charges for the destruction of evidence in the form of documents and records.

    Home Front: Politix
Former president Obama's post-presidency has been a great unwritten story-...Secret Service vehicles bearing White House officials were regularly seen pulling in and out of the Obama residence at night, but no one was reporting on the story.
    A few select paragraphs:
[AmericanThinker] In this context, it’s instructive to consider an article in Axios that appeared some hours before last Thursday’s debate, purporting to explain why Michelle Obama was not campaigning for President Biden: her distaste for politics and her dislike of the way the Biden Family had treated her friend Kathleen Buhle, Hunter Biden’s ex-wife. Both of these reasons were less than sturdy. After all, the “unwilling” political participant Michelle Obama coined what the media deemed the most memorable line of recent election cycles — “when they go low, we go high” — and the idea that a woman who famously values family cohesion would take offense at a family’s rallying around its son after a divorce seems like an anomaly. But, viewed politically, this information and the date of its release make sense. If Michelle Obama is seen by her husband or the party as a plausible replacement for President Biden, then there’s real incentive to make her lack of participation in the Biden re-election effort seem like something other than a potential candidate avoiding sullying-by-association.

    * * *

Viewed from this angle, the response of well placed Democrats to the Thursday debate disaster supports the view that the Biden implosion was part of a planned obsolescence. There was something ritualized about the self-described Democrat “freakout” after the debate: these spontaneous eruptions all used the same language. Biden, it was said, had one job — to “reassure” his “neurotic” party — and he failed. These Democrats were “heartbroken,” and their “voice[s] cracked” as they critiqued the President. Biden was “doing his best,” but his best was not good enough.

Meantime, members of the party’s right flank made their voices heard in distinctive ways. The financier William Ackman talked about the country “rally[ing] around” President Trump while also floating JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon as a replacement Democrat candidate. The message here seemed clear: certain big money players would reconsider their drift toward Trump were a suitably pro-corporate (and anti-antitrust) candidate selected in Biden’s stead.

It’s hard to believe, in an era where the presidency has become much more public, that similar interactions didn’t occur with President Biden and get widely reported this winter and spring. It’s also hard to believe that President Obama, living nearby, was not aware of these reports. In context of a failing President Biden being unwilling to step aside, a play may have gotten formulated: to allow for a planned disaster followed by a gentle replacement urged by President Obama, the one figure in the Party with near-universal authority.

Two Syrian Arab Army soldiers injured in terrorist attacks
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Two Syrian government servicemen were wounded as a result of two attacks by terrorist groups. This was reported on June 30 by Yuri Popov, deputy head of the Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides (CROS) in Syria.

Over the past 24 hours, the Center for Military Security in the Idlib de-escalation zone recorded two cases of firing by militants of the terrorist groups Jabhat Al-Nusra (a terrorist organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) and the Islamic Party of Turkestan (a terrorist organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation).

“As a result of shelling by terrorists at government troop positions in the areas of the settlement of Kafer Nebel in Idlib province and the settlement of Basratun in Aleppo province, two Syrian servicemen were wounded,” Popov said during a briefing.

He added that control over compliance with the ceasefire regime continues in Syria. Russian military police units conducted patrols in the provinces of Aleppo, Raqqa and Hasakah.

As reported by IA Regnum, on June 1, the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria launched strikes at two concentrations of militants who had left the al-Tanf zone. The terrorists' bases were located in remote areas of the Al-Amur mountain range in the province of Homs and Al-Bishri in the province of Deir Ez-Zor.

On June 8, the Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Armed Forces, together with the Syrian military, conducted exercises to protect the Tartus base. As part of the exercises, the crews of the Pantsir-S air defense missile system, together with the crews of the Black Sea Fleet's anti-sabotage boat Kadet and small missile boats of the Syrian Navy, destroyed the naval drones of a mock enemy that were trying to break through to the inner roadstead of the port. The actions of the military were coordinated by the command of the Russian Armed Forces and the leadership of the Syrian Arab Army at joint command posts in Syria.

    International-UN-NGOs
Here's what the man tipped to be Trump's National Security Advisor told me about NATO
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] We will undoubtedly ask, in years to come, how the issue of defence played no part in the 2024 General Election.
That is Britain’s general election, not America’s.
There was just a momentary spat when the Conservatives boasted that they would increase defence spending from its current level of 2.3 per cent to 2.5 per cent of GDP ‘by 2030’, while Labour said they would reach 2.5 per cent ‘when conditions allow’.

The latter is a meaningless statement, but the Conservatives’ claim is hardly a triumph of resolve.

And it is extraordinary that the greatly increased likelihood of Donald Trump being (re)elected President, following the cruelly public exposure of Joe Biden’s incapacity in their so-called debate last week, has still not caused the issue of defence to be raised in our own election.

It could hardly be clearer that Donald Trump, returned to the White House, will not just demand that we and other European countries pay much, much more of the costs of defence against the depredations of the insatiable warmonger in the Kremlin: he actually has no intention of assisting us.

Last month, it was revealed that Trump had told the European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen: ‘We will leave, we will quit Nato. And by the way, you owe me $400 billion, because you didn’t pay, you Germans, what you had to pay for defence.’

It is said this was some sort of bluff; Trump’s negotiating tactic to get Europeans to cough up more.

Not according to John Bolton, who was his National Security Advisor: ‘I was there when he almost withdrew [from Nato], and he’s not negotiating. His goal here is not to strengthen Nato, it’s to lay the groundwork to get out.

A fortnight ago, I was at a lunch the leading Westminster think-tank Policy Exchange held for the man whom many tip to be National Security Advisor in Trump 2.0: Elbridge Colby.

The formidably articulate Colby, who served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence during the first Trump administration, shocked the British military panjandrums present with his strong intimation that he did not necessarily see a Russian attack on a European Nato member as a reason for the U.S. to send its forces into action.

He was unmoved as one of the guests pointed out that when the U.S., after 9/11, sought backing for its invasion of Afghanistan (where Osama bin Laden lurked), all its Nato allies sent troops in support, too.

Colby, like Trump, regards China as the only serious threat to U.S. interests, and believes all Washington’s military strategy should be directed against Xi Jinping’s plans for ‘Asian hegemony’: Beijing taking control of the archipelago of islands that runs from Japan, via Taiwan, to the southern edge of the South China Sea.

So, Colby told us, Europe must be ‘de-prioritised’, ridiculing what he called ‘the idea we should break our spear in Europe, which is much less important to the American people’.

Afterwards, when I spoke to him, Colby said: ‘You need to realise I’m moderate on this, compared with many in the Republican Party.’

He added: ‘Your Prime Minister says he will put 2.5 per cent of the UK’s GDP into defence. Why not 3.5 per cent? That’s what America spends.’

Fair point. Half a century ago, when there was no war in Europe, 5 per cent of our GDP was spent on defence.

#1  I agree with some of what Colby says, but in other cases he falls short of what I am looking for. NATO has become one vehicle for the NEICONs to herd us into one conflict after another; I am for withdrawal of the US from NATO for that reason. I don’t think that withdrawal from NATO requires us to leave the Poles out to dry because China is the only enemy. Globalists are the chief enemy. I use Poland for my example, because while I have a great love for countries for the 5 Is countries, they are not getting a pass from me on Russiagate. Finally, don’t try to distract me by mentioning John Bolton, Walrus of Death, in news articles. I don’t bark at squirrels.

#2  NATO is useful for keeping the Europeans from going to war against each other. No longer is it necessary to keep the Russians out. The Russians are NOT coming. If they can't even take Kiev, how are they going to take Warsaw? They can't. No, I'm not concerned about German reluctance to increase defense spending. The new rationale for NATO's continued existence is to make sure they don't.

I believe it is correct that the biggest threat to America is China.

But the problem is that globalists see NATO as a vehicle for expanding their empire into places like Georgia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and even Russia itself. These mad men are willing to go to war for their pipe dream and we can only hope that Trump can put a damper on them.

New details emerge about Biden's mental state ‐ and the steps staffers take to shield the ‘10am to 4pm president'
[NYP] More questions about President Biden’s cognitive state are emerging as a new poll showed a jaw-dropping 72% of registered voters do not believe he is mentally fit for the job.

While many Democrats were left flabbergasted and sent into a tailspin by Biden’s debate debacle last week, the 81-year-old president’s cognitive slips have been nothing new to his inner circle.

White House aides have been meticulously working behind the scenes throughout his presidency to minimize his exposure to situations where his cognitive slip-ups could flare up in public and to adapt the day-to-day of the presidency to the needs of an octogenarian.

The commander-in-chief is seen as prone to absent-minded gaffes and fatigue outside of six hours a day — between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. — and while traveling abroad, Axios said in a new report.

Thales offices in three countries searched in corruption investigation
[France24] Police in three countries searched the offices of French defence company Thales this week over suspected corruption involving arms sales abroad, notably to Brazil, a judicial source said Saturday.

Officers in La Belle France, the Netherlands and Spain carried out the searches between Wednesday and Friday, the source told AFP, confirming a report from French broadcaster BFMTV.

The police searches were triggered by two separate investigations, said the source.

The first, opened at the end of 2016, into suspected corruption of a foreign official, criminal association and money laundering involved the sale of submarines and the construction of naval base in Brazil.

The second, opened in June 2023, concerned similar offences linked to the sale of military and civilian equipment abroad, the source added.

Thales and its lawyer, contacted for comment, have so far not responded.

Women in Gaza bear brunt of war amid food insecurity, severe medicine shortages
[NEWARAB] Women in Gaza are heavily bearing the brunt of Israel's ongoing war on Gaza, a new UN report published this week has revealed.
Their menfolk are off bravely shooting in the general direction of Zionists. They got lotsa money for guns and ammunition, but nothing for wives and kiddies. Got it.
The report from UN Women states at least 557,000 women in Gaza are currently food insecure.
Possibly that's because their armed menfolk are stealing the groceries as they arrive.
According to the report, many women, particularly mothers, often prioritise feeding others and go without food in order to do this.
But the gents are fat and happy.
The report found that women in the devastated territory are regularly being forced to skip meals or reduce their intake, choosing instead to give their portion of food to their children.
    My heartstrings! They've been tugged!
This has further endangered their health, caused malnutrition and increased their vulnerability to gender-based violence, the report says.
Ahah. Gender-based violence! Their menfolk being the other gender?
Around seven in 10 women in the Strip have reported weight loss in the past 30 days, with most of them experiencing frequent dizziness.
Dehydration from the heat has nothing to do with it.
"My menfolk call me a dizzy broad!" she sniffled.
More than 80 percent of respondents who spoke to UN Women said they rely on food aid as their primary source of nutrition but noted that the available aid does not fairly account for the sizes of families.
Gaza wimmin be hot to trot.
Israel's siege and bombardment of the enclave has further put women at risk, with pregnant and lactating women having little to no access to adequate healthcare and nutrition.
Too bad their menfolk didn't warn the wimmin to get out of Dodge before the invaded Israel.
The UN found that 76 percent of pregnant women are suffering from anaemia, and 99 percent are struggling to access nutritional supplements.
    [BURP!] The heart burns.

DEI FDNY boss Laura Kavanagh rips firefighters in texts to NY AG Letitia James
[NYPOST] FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh wants to “fix” the behavior of her department’s predominately male workforce — but can’t figure out how to extinguish their flames of discontent.
She's black and she's female, who knows, maybe even a lesbian? I didn't ask but I'm sure she'd tell if she is. Who better to run fire services in a major city?
Kavanagh — who’s butted heads with plenty of male underlings since being named the city’s first female fire commissioner in 2022 — made the blunt admission while apologizing to New York Attorney General Letitia James during a March 8 text exchange, a day after pro-Donald Trump firefighters and other attendees mercilessly booed the Democratic pol during a department promotion ceremony.

“I should have called you last night, but I’ve been trying to find a way to say I’m sorry that doesn’t involve me apologizing for men who don’t deserve such grace,” texted Kavanagh, according to records The Post obtained from the AG’s office through a Freedom of Information Law request.

ISS orbit was adjusted for the autumn crew changeover
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The orbit of the International Space Station was adjusted by 1.36 kilometers in preparation for the autumn crew changeover. Roscosmos reported this on Sunday, June 30.

“Today, the ISS orbit was adjusted to ensure the launch of the manned Soyuz MS-26 spacecraft and the landing of the Soyuz MS-25, planned for September 2024,” says a message published on the official website of the Russian state corporation.

It is noted that the engines of the Progress MS-25 cargo ship started at 01:39 Moscow time and worked for 536 seconds, producing an impulse of 0.78 m/s. Thus, the average altitude of the station's orbit increased by 1.36 kilometers.

Roscosmos recalled that the launch of the Soyuz MS-26 manned spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, according to the plan, will take place on September 11. The main crew of the expedition to the ISS includes Russian cosmonauts Alexei Ovchinin and Ivan Wagner and NASA astronaut Donald Pettit.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, it was previously reported that the Progress MS-29 cargo ship, delivered to the Baikonur Cosmodrome on June 17, will depart for the International Space Station in the fall of 2024. The cargo ship was installed in the work area for the acceptance procedure and subsequent conservation, specialists checked the operation of the mechanisms for deploying solar panels.

[Regnum] The dry cargo ship Lady Ayana, which was sailing from Russia under the flag of Barbados, has been trying to be refloated off the coast of Istanbul in the Sea of Marmara for the third day.

According to RIA Novosti, as of 15:00 Moscow time, the dry cargo ship continues to remain aground off the coast of Istanbul, from where at least two tugboats are trying to remove it. There are strong waves at sea.
    Sometimes the snark writes itself.
Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Transport sent a tugboat and a boat to the ship to evacuate the crew.

As Regnum reported, on June 28, the cargo ship carrying wheat Lady Ayana ran aground off the coast of Istanbul in the Sea of Marmara. The KEGM-3 high-speed rescue boat and the Rescue-10 tugboat were sent to the scene of the incident to evacuate the crew.

In late January, the Liberian-flagged oil tanker Peria blocked traffic in the Bosphorus. The ship's anchor broke due to bad weather. Several hours later, traffic was restored and the tanker was towed to a berth in Istanbul.

Reformist Masoud Pezeshkian, ultraconservative Saeed Jalili qualify for Iran runoff election
[NEWARAB] Iran's sole reformist candidate Masoud Pezeshkian and ultraconservative Saeed Jalili have qualified for a runoff presidential election after leading in the first round, an official said on Saturday.

Pezeshkian got more than 10,400,000 votes and Jalili, a former nuclear negotiator, has more than 9,400,000, said Mohsen Eslami, spokesman of Iran's election authority.

"None of the candidates could garner the absolute majority of the votes, therefore, the first and second contenders who got the most votes will be referred" for the second round, scheduled for next Friday, Eslami told a press conference.

Out of around 61 million eligible voters, some 24,500,000 voters headed to the polls, he added, with a turnout of around 40 percent - the lowest yet in the history of the Islamic republic.

Out of Iran's 13 previous presidential elections since the Islamic revolution in 1979, only one has led to runoffs in 2005.

Conservative parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf received about 3,383,340 votes and Mostafa Pourmohammadi, a conservative cleric, had 206,397 votes.

Sudan's RSF says it has taken key town, closing in on army HQ in Port Sudan
[NEWARAB] Paramilitary forces battling Sudan's regular army for more than a year said on Saturday they had taken a key state capital in the southeast, prompting thousands to flee, witnesses said.

"We have liberated the 17th Infantry Division from Singa,” the capital of Sennar state, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced on X.

Residents confirmed to AFP: "The RSF have deployed in the streets of Singa", and witnesses reported aircraft from the regular army flying overhead and anti-aircraft fire.

Earlier Saturday, other witnesses said there was fighting in the streets and "rising panic among residents seeking to flee".

Sudan has been gripped by war since April 2023, when fighting erupted between forces loyal to army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the RSF led by his former deputy Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.

British Navy reports a 'suspicious encounter' with a ship off the coast of Yemen
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] A "suspicious" approach to a vessel occurred near the Yemeni port of Mocha (Mocha). This was reported on June 30 by the UK Maritime Trade Office (UKMTO) of the country's Navy.

“UKMTO received a report of an incident 13 nautical miles (about 24 kilometers – Editor’s note) south of Moha, Yemen,” the department informed.

It is noted that the incident was classified as a “suspicious approach.”

As Regnum reported, earlier on June 29, the Yemeni rebel movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) attacked four commercial ships in the Red and Mediterranean seas. According to Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sariya, the movement's fighters launched ballistic missile attacks on the oil tanker Delonix, and also attacked the Ioannis ship in the Red Sea and the Waler oil tanker and the Johannes Maersk ship in the Mediterranean Sea.

Saria said on June 27 that the Houthis carried out a complex attack on the Seajoy in the Red Sea using drones, missiles and an unmanned boat. He added that the Houthis also launched several cruise missiles at a vital target in Israel's Haifa.

Macron Wipeout in Snap Election he Called, Le Pen Surges and Could Take Outright Majority
[Breitbart] The Parliamentary faction of President Emmanuel Macron has been utterly destroyed in the unexpected snap election he called just three weeks ago, with Le Pen’s Party looking to nearly treble its seat holding.

Polling has closed in France for the first round of this week-long Parliamentary election. While actual seat distribution won’t be fully known, the exit polls following this knock-out round have given a confident answer that Marine Le Pen’s nationalist-populist National Rally (RN) won the day. Per the exit polls, her faction gained 34 per cent of the vote, while the left-wing coalition founded for the purpose of this election picked up 29 per cent, and President Macron’s Ensemble looks at just 20 per cent.

In terms of seats, any one party or group would need 289 seats in the 577 seat house. A series of exit polls suggest that by the end of next Sunday, RN could have as few as 250 seats, but could get as many as 310 depending on second round voting. This is a simply enormous leap for RN, given Le Pen’s party had just 88 Members of Parliament last time.

More detailed results will continue to come in overnight and into Monday. There now follows a week of further campaigning, before the final head-to-head rounds next week.

Biden is 'humiliated, devoid of confidence and painfully aware of his frail image', insider claims...
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Joe Biden is 'humiliated' and 'painfully aware' of his image following his calamitous debate performance, as he is set to discuss the future of his re-election campaign.

The president has retreated to Camp David with is wife, children and grandchildren to take a break from the campaign trial and weigh his options, NBC News first reported.

Insiders described Biden's mood as 'humiliated and devoid of confidence' following his face off with Donald Trump that saw him stumbling over his words and losing his train of thought multiple times.

Biden is said to be 'painfully aware that the physical images of him at the debate — eyes staring into the distance, mouth agape — will live beyond his presidency.'

The retreat comes as his team keeps insisting that the idea of him dropping out of the race would only 'lead to weeks of chaos,' calling the concern of several Democrats the work of 'bedwetting brigade.'

'Biden's advisers failed him,' he wrote on social media, referring to how Team Biden picked the debate format.

'Format was a disaster for him and a plus for Trump. He over practiced and was drained… who wouldn't be,' he added."

He then specifically called out Dunn and Bauer for leading the president astray.

'Biden has for too long been fooled by the value of Anita Dunn and her husband. They need to go… TODAY. The grifting is gross. It was political malpractice.'

In an interview with the New York Times asking him for clarification, Morgan did not mince words.

'It would be like if you took a prizefighter who was going to have a title fight and put him in a sauna for 15 hours then said, 'Go fight,' he said.

'I believe that the debate is solely on Ron Klain, Bob Bauer and Anita Dunn.'

China owns 380,000 acres of land in the U.S. Here's where
[NPR June 2023] In 2021, a Chinese company bought land near an Air Force base in Grand Forks, N.D., sending lawmakers into a frenzy.

Lawmakers feared that China, which many policymakers view as a strategic adversary even though it's the country's top trading partner outside North America, could gain control over the U.S. food and energy supply, as well as a hold on markets and critical infrastructure.

Although Chinese-owned land is a tiny fraction of all foreign-owned land in the U.S., its purchases have raised fears that the Chinese government could have control, through the Chinese corporations, over U.S. assets or gain access to U.S.-based information. Indeed, during the past four decades, Chinese companies and investors have bought up land in the U.S. as well as purchased major food companies like Smithfield Foods, the United States' largest pork processor. Corporations own the majority of that land. Now legislation in Congress would restrict Chinese ownership of U.S. land.

"I don't know that we know for sure all the foreign land that potentially is owned by Chinese individuals or folks controlled by the Chinese government," Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., who is skeptical of Chinese land ownership in the U.S., told NPR.

Those fears come amid broader tensions between the two countries on issues as varied as Taiwan, trade and Chinese intelligence gathering. Chinese acquisitions in the U.S., no matter how benign or how minor, are being viewed through that same lens.

Drifting Ukrainian mine forces Turkish beach closure
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Turkish sappers neutralized a Ukrainian drifting mine discovered in the Black Sea off the coast of the country, which is why the beach was closed. A newspaper reported this on June 30.

According to the publication, the object was noticed on the evening of June 29, 60 meters from the coast near the city of Eregli, at a depth of five meters. In connection with this, the entrance to the beaches was temporarily closed to the population.

“Police and coastguard arrived at the scene. As a result of the inspection, it was established that the suspicious object was a mine of Ukrainian origin,” the report says.

It is noted that the sappers detonated the mine in a controlled manner. The entrance to the beach was opened only in the afternoon of June 30.

As Regnum reported, on June 26, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced Kiev’s deliberate mining of the Black Sea. The diplomat recalled that at the beginning of a special military operation in 2022, Ukraine mined its Black Sea ports. Then, due to storms, many mines were torn from their anchors, after which they drifted and ended up off the coast of Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. She did not rule out that the situation could repeat itself.

On June 30, an explosion occurred off the coast in Odessa. A column of water rose a few meters from the shore. Those who observed the incident suggested that a mine could have detonated in the water area.

Lebanon PM Mikati says country at war amid Israel-Hezbollah clashes
    [NEWARAB] Leb

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
's caretaker prime minister has said that his country is in a state of war as nine months of festivities between Israel and Hezbollah heighten fears of an Israeli invasion of the country.

Prime Minister Najib Mikati made the statement during a visit to southern Lebanon on Saturday, where he said he hoped that the war will not expand, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.

"We are always advocates of peace, and our choice is peace and the implementation of Resolution 1701. Israel must stop its repeated attacks on Lebanon, and stop the war in Gazoo

The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, and everyone must implement International Resolution No. 2735," he said.

UN Resolution 1701, which ended Israel's 2006 invasion of Lebanon, called for the cessation of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel and the withdrawal of Hezbollah to north of the Litani river and of Israel from Lebanon.

UN Resolution 2735 called for the implementation of a three-stage ceasefire in Gaza, the exchange of hostages and emphasises the need for a two-state solution.

"We are with our people. The resistance is doing its duty, the Lebanese government is doing its duty, and our goal is to protect the country in every sense of the word," Mikati added.

His statements come as the specter of an Israeli invasion heightens, after an increase in the intensity of festivities between Israel and Hezbollah, as well as rhetoric from the two sides. The Israeli army has said it has approved plans for an invasion of Lebanon if requested.

Islamic State killed 4,100 in Syria since 2019 defeat
    [NEWARAB] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
fighters have killed nearly 4,100 people in Syria since 2019 when the jihadists lost their last stronghold in the country, a war monitor said Saturday.

IS overran large swathes of Syria and Iraq in 2014, proclaiming a so-called caliphate and launching a reign of terror in June of that year.

In March 2019, the jihadist group lost its last scraps of Syrian territory in a Kurdish-led military campaign backed by a US-led coalition, but remnants continue to launch deadly attacks from desert hideouts.

IS fighters "have killed about 4,100 people in more than 2,550 operations in areas controlled by the regime or" the semi-autonomous Kurdish administration since 2019, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a report.

Most of the victims are soldiers, regime loyalists and Kurdish-led fighters, but the toll also incudes 627 civilians, the Britannia-based Observatory said.

More than half of the 4,085 victims fell in Syria's vast Badia desert, which runs from the outskirts of Damascus to the Iraqi border.

A total of "2,744 people have been killed by the IS group since its formal collapse in 2019, in various areas of the Syrian desert," said the monitor, which relies on a network of sources inside the country.

IS fighters have killed more than 2,500 regime loyalists and soldiers in the Badia since their so-called caliphate fell, according to the Observatory.

"Hardly a day goes by without bombings, ambushes, targeted operations or surprise attacks" by the jihadists in the region, the report said.

"These operations are met with periodic security campaigns carried out by regime forces and groups loyal to them deep in the desert, with... Russian warplanes targeting the desert on a near-daily basis," it added.

The group has sustained heavy damage, losing more than 2,000 fighters including top leaders since 2019, the report found.

    A United Nations

report released in January said IS's combined strength in Iraq and Syria was between 3,000 and 5,000 fighters, with the Badia serving as a logistics and operations hub for the group in Syria.

Arab League no longer considers Hezbollah terrorists
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Text taken from a news article in eadaily.com

[ColonelCassad] The League of Arab States has officially removed Hezbollah's status as a "terrorist organization." Now, from the Arab League's point of view, Hezbollah is a completely legal Lebanese military-political structure. In fact, Hezbollah has long been more than just a paramilitary Shiite group. Hezbollah is very dense integrated into the structure of the loose Lebanese state, in fact being part of it, while an important feature is that Hezbollah does not seek full-scale power throughout Lebanon, concentrating on increasing its political and economic influence, as well as on the growth of its military capabilities.

As a result, Hezbollah can easily wage war on the border with Israel regardless of the position of the Lebanese army and the Lebanese government. This is an indicator of both the weakness of the Lebanese state and the strength of Hezbollah as its component.

Hezbollah in its current form is the most valuable regional ally. Iran, glad of whose support a land corridor was built running to Lebanon through Iraq and Syria, through which weapons and missiles are supplied to Lebanon for Hezbollah. During the Syrian war, Hezbollah was already one of Russia's regional allies, taking part in battles on the side of the Russian-Iranian-Syrian coalition, including receiving Russian weapons, including T-90 tanks.

In Russia, Hezbollah was not and is not considered a terrorist organization, despite Israel's attempts (even before the war in Gaza) to put pressure on the Kremlin in this matter. The decision of the Arab League strengthens the Russian position on this issue.

The Arab League's decision can also be seen as another tactical win for Iran, which is using the Israeli genocide in Gaza to normalize relations with a significant part of the Arab world and expand its influence in it.

Britain calls Trident II nuclear missile tests a disgrace
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The British Navy's 2024 Trident II nuclear missile tests ended in failure, indicating serious risks to the country's security, The New Yorker reported on June 30.

The publication cites the opinion of former First Sea Lord Admiral Alan West, who commented on the situation.

    “Let's not pretend. It's a shame, " he said.

Journalists note that what happened was expected, since the kingdom's nuclear infrastructure and weapons are becoming outdated and require repair or replacement. The authors of the article cited the example of the submarine HMS Vanguard, which was used for testing. The submarine has been in service with the British Navy for 30 years instead of the 25 years required by regulations.

West also told the magazine that Britain's nuclear deterrent was currently in a very vulnerable position, adding that this was a matter of grave concern.

As Regnum reported, in February information appeared that Britain had unsuccessfully launched a Trident II intercontinental ballistic missile. The shell misfired abruptly and fell into the ocean a few meters from HMS Vanguard, from which it was launched.

The tests were carried out at the end of January as part of exercises off the coast of Florida. British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps was on board HMS Vanguard at the time of launch. The Trident II launch failure was the second such incident after a misfire in 2016.

Belarus reports NATO forces amassed near republic's borders
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Ten battalion groups of the North Atlantic Alliance with a total strength of about 20 thousand people are located near the border of Belarus with the countries of the European Union. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic, Pavel Muraveiko, announced this on June 30 on the ONT TV channel.

"Today, there are ten NATO battalion tactical groups with a total of over 20,000 people located near our borders. Of these, six are American," Muraveiko said.

According to him, the location of the North Atlantic Alliance contingent near the borders of Belarus is an irritant for the Belarusian military.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus also emphasized that the Belarusian side is doing everything possible to prevent an escalation of tensions, despite provocations from NATO.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, Pavel Muraveiko previously reported that a difficult situation had developed on the border between Belarus and Ukraine. In particular, he pointed to the increased activity of Ukrainian unmanned aircraft, mining and the build-up of engineering barriers along the state border from the Ukrainian side, and the deployment of a large number of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel on the border with Belarus. Thus, the Ukrainian command pulled special forces units of the 1st presidential brigade into Ovruch in the Zhytomyr region.

On June 30, the head of the anti-aircraft missile forces department of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Andrei Severinchik, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had concentrated units with long-range unmanned aerial vehicles on the border with Belarus, including drones capable of striking deep into the republic. He emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are concentrating air defense forces near the border, despite the lack of air defense systems in other directions.

CNN: The US has put its military bases in Europe on high alert

The United States of America has placed several of its military bases in Europe on high alert due to fears that a terrorist attack will be carried out on the American military, CNN reported on June 30, citing information from two American officials.

The interlocutors told journalists that such measures were taken, among others, at the US Army garrison in Stuttgart, Germany. The headquarters of the US European Command is located there. The security level was raised to the second highest level.

One official at the base in Europe told the TV channel that such a high level of readiness had not been seen there in the last ten years. This means that information about the threat was received from reliable sources, he emphasized.

Journalists turned to European Command spokesman Dan Day for comment. He declined to provide specific details, noting that the US military constantly evaluates many factors that affect the security of overseas bases.

The TV channel also pointed out that European authorities had previously announced a potential terrorist threat in connection with the European Football Championship, which is taking place in Germany, and the Olympic Games, which are to be held in Paris.

As Regnum reported, on June 5, FBI Director Christopher Wray announced the risk of a major coordinated terrorist attack in the United States. According to him, there are groups that are inspired by attacks on American bases in the Middle East.

Since the beginning of the year, a number of US bases located in the Middle East have come under attack. In particular, in April, a missile attack on a base in Syria was carried out by Shiite armed groups belonging to the Islamic Resistance of Iraq. The shelling was carried out from Iranian territory.

US NATO Allies Fear Biden's Removal from Election, Media Reports
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] US NATO allies fear that the Democratic Party's decision to replace US President Joe Biden with another candidate in the upcoming elections could strengthen the position of Russia and China, CNN said on June 30, interviewing a number of diplomats from the alliance countries.

"Diplomats fear that removing a candidate so late in the election cycle could undermine stability, allowing China and Russia to criticize the U.S. democratic system," the reporters said.

It is noted that there is no concern about Biden's ability to make decisions, as they are confident in his entourage.

According to the channel, Biden's removal from the elections will confirm his incompetence, and this will undermine stability in the West, and European countries want stability most of all.

As Regnum reported, a poll published on June 30 showed that 72% of American voters would like another candidate to be nominated instead of Biden in the presidential election. They doubt his mental abilities. 49% of respondents were against Trump's participation in the election.

Biden and Trump held their first election debate on the night of June 28, Moscow time. ABC reported that after this, Democratic Party supporters became concerned about how poorly the incumbent president had performed and began en masse to demand that he be replaced by another candidate. They demanded that a younger and more competent candidate be nominated in the elections.

War is good because it reduces the population and as we all know, Overpopulation is the #1 problem our planet faces.
On the other hand, war throws up a lot of dust and smoke which is bad because Pollution is the other #1 problem our planet faces.
However, smoke and dust reflect sunlight which helps cool the planet and reduces Global Warming which is also the #1 problem our planet faces, so that is good.

Rebels Capture Another Town in Eastern DRC
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Rebels from the M23 movement have taken control of the city of Kirumba in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the France Presse (AFP) agency reported.

“The large object has been in the hands of M23 since yesterday evening,” the agency quoted an administration official as saying.

According to the publication, the rebels continued to move north from Kirumba.

Earlier, on June 29, local media reported that the rebels had captured the strategically important town of Kanyabayonga in the same province. They entered the town on June 28. It was noted that government troops and fighters from the irregular forces of Wazelendo had been resisting for a month.

As Regnum reported, on May 19, the official representative of the country's Armed Forces, Brigadier General Sylvain Ekenge, announced the prevention of a coup attempt in Kinshasa. He added that the military had arrested all participants in the conspiracy, including the leaders. Ekenge did not disclose their names.

It was later reported that the leader of the rebels who had attempted the coup had been eliminated. According to the Actu30 portal, the man was shot by the military. The rest of the rebel group were immediately arrested. Their uniforms were emblazoned with the flag of Zaire (the country's former name), the men spoke English, French and Lingala, and claimed to be "representatives of the diaspora."

On May 20, Ekenge officially announced that the rebel group included not only Congolese, but also foreigners, including those from the United States and Great Britain. According to him, law enforcement officers eliminated four putschists, including the rebel leader, "naturalized American of Congolese origin" Christian Mahlangu. In total, about 40 attackers were detained, of whom, as the general stated, one was a "naturalized Briton."

Potentially hazardous asteroid passes close to Earth
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The potentially dangerous asteroid 2024 MK missed the Earth at a distance of about 300,000 km. This was reported on June 30 by the press service of the Institute of Applied Mathematics named after. Keldysh Russian Academy of Sciences.

“Last night, the network’s telescopes monitored the flight of the potentially dangerous asteroid 2024 MK, which missed the Earth by about 300,000 km,” the report says.

The institute clarified that this asteroid is a relatively large celestial rock of the Apollo group.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on June 27, the asteroid 2011 UL21 approached the Earth at a distance of approximately 6.4 million km, which was the smallest value for this celestial body in more than 100 years. The asteroid was called the "planet killer" for its ability to cause large-scale damage and throw a significant amount of "garbage" into the atmosphere upon impact, which could provoke global climate change. The size of the celestial body is larger than the dimensions of 99% of objects that pass close to the Earth.

'Gothic gossip': who was molested by the 80-year-old 'Antichrist' Klaus Schwab
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
    by Kirill Velesov

[REGNUM] On June 30, one of the main international sensations was the article by The Wall Street Journal, “Behind Davos, Accusations of a Toxic Workplace,” which talks about numerous accusations of sexual harassment, discrimination against women, blacks and older people against the leaders of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. The material is based on letters of complaints from 80 former and current employees of the WEF, starting from the 80s, and the accusations are also addressed to the permanent head, creator and ideological inspirer of the forum, Klaus Schwab.

According to the publication, senior managers harassed female employees, and this even happened to VIP guests of the forum. In addition, pregnant employees faced discrimination, were fired or forced to quit their jobs.

Black employees were subjected to racial slurs, the WSJ puts it this way: “The N-word was used repeatedly.

80-year-old Klaus Schwab, the newspaper writes, personally ordered the dismissal of some employees over 50 years of age in order to reduce the average age of workers and improve performance indicators, deciding to “carry out a youth transformation of the organization.”

The employee accuses him personally of harassment (sexual harassment) - “he offered the young employee informal communication.”

Jorum representatives declined to arrange an interview with Schwab, and a press service said the article "inaccurately describes the organization, culture and colleagues, including the founder."

    "ARCHITECT OF TRANSHUMANIST REALITY"
Klaus Schwab is a legendary figure, and therefore any news about him invariably becomes a sensation. He has received all sorts of titles in both the Russian and foreign press: "head of the world government", "architect of transhumanist reality", "antichrist", "global economic conspirator", "conductor of Russian perestroika reforms".

They have been writing and talking about young girls (and boys) at the grand parties of the “world government” in the Schwab Palace for a long time, but this has never led to any consequences.

Many major American media also regularly reported that Schwab's World Economic Forum had long ago transformed from a platform for discussing current topics into a source of unlimited income.

Thus, according to Reuters and other sources, the WEF invested, according to some sources, $5 million in the startup Advanced Video Communications, which was then sold to the public technology company USWeb Corp, allegedly for $16 million.

Initially, in 1971, Schwab positioned the forum as a meeting of leading European businessmen and politicians to discuss the prospects for the development of European business in the global market.

But a few years later, a political agenda, environmental issues and gender inequality, global military threats and the education of “young world leaders” were added to purely economic issues.

The most important guest of the forum has long been considered former US Secretary of State, international relations expert and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Henry Kissinger, who is called Schwab's teacher. In 2023, his speech at the forum became the center of the program, and he spoke on all topics at the same time: anti-Russian sanctions, the slowdown of the Chinese economy, the energy crisis in Europe, demography, climate.

The theme of the 2024 forum was the adaptation of developed and developing countries to the “new unstable normal.” In particular, the head of the European Central Bank (ECB), Christine Lagarde, spoke about rising inflation, and the Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, spoke about a global restructuring of logistics due to ongoing military operations in different parts of the world.

There were also scandals: Danish producer Damon Imani published a video in which he allegedly swore at Schwab while speaking at the WEF, cursing the “new world order” and globalists. The video turned out to be fake, but it was very actively discussed by all the world's media, some with the headlines “this guy said what all normal people would like to say.”

In turn, a statement that was not fake — and no less shocking — was made by Schwab's adviser, World Economic Forum expert Yuval Harari. He spoke about the imminent likely emergence of a new religion and the influence of artificial intelligence on modern life:

“Artificial intelligence can compose stories, create mythologies, entire religions. And I think in a couple of years there will be religions whose scriptures will be written by artificial intelligence. And what would a religion be like whose scriptures were created by an inanimate entity?

    POSITION ON UKRAINE
As the architect of the “brave new world,” Schwab comments on any topical topic, and his words excite minds. In early June of this year, Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus called Schwab on behalf of the French economist Jacques Attali.

In a conversation with a “colleague,” Schwab said that he considered the most likely end to the Ukrainian conflict to be the “Korean option”—a freeze of military operations along the existing demarcation line, and spoke about his acquaintance with Russian President Vladimir Putin :

“But I have to say, off the record, that on my last trip before the coronavirus hit, I went to St. Petersburg, and I have known Putin since 1993, when I met him for the first time in St. Petersburg, where he was vice mayor. I talked with him for 75 minutes.

He to some extent already spoke about the history of Russia, as he did in an interview with Tucker Carlson. He told me that Russia is not Europe. “You’re wrong, Klaus, Russia has its own identity, its own soul, its own history and so on.”

Schwab also accused Ukraine of undermining Nord Stream and said that overall "everything must end in compromise."

    UNIVERSAL ACCUSATION
Why is it that right now one of the leading Western publications is publishing a deafeningly incriminating article about Schwab and his forum?

Starting with the case of American film producer Harvey Weinstein, who was accused of sexual harassment by such world stars as Angelina Jolie and Cara Delevingne, “harassment” has seemingly become a “universal” accusation in the West.

Most often, accusations of harassment are made against famous actors, musicians, directors, and showmen. Thus, recently, the talk has been about the actor and TV presenter Russell Brand, the illusionist David Copperfield, and the stand-up comedian Louis C.K. A slightly different (it was about his underage stepdaughter), but no less high-profile story concerned the American director Woody Allen.

Sometimes the targets of such scandals are people outside the world of art, and in this case the accusations are often politically motivated, and that a public figure has deviated from the general information mainstream.

Two weeks ago, for example, Bloomberg reported that several SpaceX employees (women and men) filed a class action lawsuit against Elon Musk, accusing him of sexual harassment.

In addition to direct harassment, the billionaire was accused of offensive statements, publishing other people's nude photos with humiliating comments, and discrimination against vulnerable social groups.

The investigation of this case with comments from the plaintiffs and anonymous testimonies was published by the same newspaper The Wall Street Journal. The topic predictably became an information bomb, especially due to Musk's regular statements about the conflict in Ukraine: he is skeptical about Western support for Volodymyr Zelensky and criticizes many anti-Russian decisions of the US and EU authorities.

Perhaps the suddenly emerging facts about Schwab, helpfully provided by The Wall Street Journal, which often sets the agenda, do not indicate harassment as such, but that there are those interested in denigrating the “eminence grise of the new world order.” Moreover, gothic scary gossip about entertainment in his castle circulated for many years, but no one was interested.

Pacific Rim: US aims latest missiles at Chinese fleet
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
    by German Polysalov

[REGNUM] As part of the Valiant Shield exercises, military maneuvers conducted by the United States in the Pacific Ocean, the Americans tested the latest high-precision ballistic missiles for combating ships. Two PrSM missiles were launched from a launcher located on the territory of the Palau International Airport in the island state of the same name. The June 16 firing marked the first time the missiles have been used outside of U.S. test ranges or inside the United States. The PrSM rounds, which are replacing the ATACMS, were fired from a prototype AML unmanned rocket launcher based on the U.S. HIMARS, although the latter is also compatible with the new missiles. In short, this tandem of innovation, with PrSM and AML participating in joint live-fire exercises, preceded the culmination of military sinking exercises (SINKEX), which involves the destruction of decommissioned ships while testing weapons.

Melikov spoke out against transferring the case of unrest at the airport to Dagestan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Calls to move the trial of the riots at the Makhachkala airport from the Krasnodar Territory to Dagestan are inappropriate, said the head of the republic, Sergei Melikov, after appeals from relatives of the accused and a deputy who supported them.

As the "Caucasian Knot" reported, on February 17, relatives of the participants in the riots at the Makhachkala airport appealed to Putin with a request for leniency. In particular, they noted that some families do not have the opportunity to travel to court hearings in Krasnodar Krai, where the case of the five defendants has been transferred. The transfer of the case to Kuban can be appealed, but success is unlikely, lawyers interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" indicated.

On February 12, the Supreme Court granted the Prosecutor General's Office's motion to change the territorial jurisdiction of the case of the five defendants and transferred the case to the Armavir District Court. There were no grounds for transferring the case to another region; this decision will complicate the defense's work, the lawyers said.

The strange statements made by some State Duma deputies, not coordinated with anyone, are inappropriate and inappropriate

The criminal cases of the rioters have been transferred to Krasnodar Krai "to eliminate the subjective factor," Dagestan head Sergei Melikov said today. "The strange, uncoordinated statements by some State Duma deputies about returning the cases to Dagestan are completely inappropriate. I am against this, as I am against anyone interfering in the work of special structures," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The investigation into the case is “as objective as possible,” Melikov emphasized. “The guilty will get what they deserve, and the innocent will not suffer,” he assured.

The head of Dagestan did not specify which of the deputies he had in mind. Earlier, State Duma deputy Saigidpasha Umakhanov asked the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia to instruct him to consider an appeal on the advisability of changing territorial jurisdiction so that criminal cases about the riots at the Makhachkala airport were considered in Dagestan, Chernovik writes today.

The deputy chairman of the Dagestan Public Monitoring Commission, Shamil Khadulaev, reported the same thing on his Telegram channel on June 21. "Yesterday, the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, S. Umakhanov, addressed the new chairperson of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, Irina Leonidovna Podnosova, on our, the public, appeal to the deputy in connection with the fact of transferring the consideration of the court cases of the guys from Dagestan in the airport case to Krasnodar Krai. The deputy's appeal is also connected with the public's hope for an objective investigation of this high-profile case," Khadulaev wrote.

Khadulaev’s publication is illustrated with a photocopy of an appeal on behalf of Umakhanov. The document is dated June 20. “The Dagestan public in its appeal expresses hope for an objective investigation and impartial (and fair) consideration of criminal (“airport”) cases. […] I ask you to instruct us to consider the specified appeal on the advisability of changing territorial jurisdiction so that criminal (“airport”) cases the cases were considered in the Republic of Dagestan,” the published appeal says.

According to the text of the document, the reason was an appeal to Umakhanov by "public figure Khalidov Dengi Shakhrudinovich, who represents the interests of an initiative group of a number of communities in several municipal districts of Dagestan, as well as the parents of the defendants (a total of about 140 people)."

"The appeal states that these criminal cases have been transferred for consideration to the Krasnodar Territory (to the Armavir City Court) due to the fact that there has been a lack of confidence in the law enforcement and judicial system of the Republic of Dagestan," the document says.

Saygidpasha Umakhanov himself, as of 17.50 Moscow time on June 30, did not report on his telegram channel about his appeal to the Chairman of the Supreme Court and did not comment on today’s statement by the head of Dagestan.

Let us recall that the first hearing in the Armavir City Court on the case of five rioters was supposed to take place at the end of May, but the accused were not transported in time. The hearing was postponed to June 18, but on that day the court, at the request of the prosecution, again postponed the consideration of the case, since one of the accused was not brought to court.
