Five Kurdish security forces killed by ISIS in northeast Syria: War monitor
[Rudaw] Five members of the Kurdish-led internal security forces (Asayish) were killed in northeast Syria (Rojava) in an attack carried out by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) turbans, a war monitor reported on Monday, adding that the incident underscores a surge in ISIS activity targeting both civilians and security forces in Kurdish-controlled areas.

According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the five Asayish members "were killed in Hasaka province when ISIS cells attacked their security checkpoint on the al-Dashisha road in southern Hasaka countryside.

"The assailants fled to an unknown location," SOHR added.

The UK-based war monitor characterized the attack as part of a broader ISIS campaign aimed at "reorganizing its ranks and creating a state of chaos."

Since the beginning of 2025, SOHR says it has "documented 126 ISIS operations" in areas administered by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES).

"These operations included armed assaults, assassinations and bombings," resulting in the deaths of 51 individuals - 34 fighters from the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), nine civilians, and eight ISIS members.

The US-backed SDF was instrumental in defeating ISIS in 2019 and capturing thousands of the group’s fighters. The force continues to operate in coordination with hundreds of US troops as part of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.

Both the SDF and Asayish are also primarily responsible for securing the Roj and al-Hol camps in Rojava. These camps house thousands of individuals suspected of ISIS ties and are widely viewed as potential breeding grounds for hard boy ideology.

Since its defeat in 2019, ISIS has been trying to regain its strength, particularly after a coalition of opposition groups led by the now-dissolved Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

Trump briefly ordered cancellation of US strike on Iran in order to deceive Tehran
[IsraelTimes] US President Donald Trump says he briefly ordered the cancellation of the US strike against Iran’s nuclear sites last month, in an attempt to deceive Tehran.

Speaking at a White House luncheon for faith leaders, Trump says he had been watching CNN shortly before the strike and claims that the network aired when the American military planes were to be entering Iranian airspace.

He recalls that he then phoned the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine and said, “Wouldn’t a surprise be better? Well, then let me cancel it and let’s make it at a different time.”

“Everyone knew it was being canceled. [But then] I said, let’s leave it the exact same time we were supposed to leave, the following day,” Trump says.

IDF: Palestinian attempts to ram troops in West Bank, is shot and arrested; earlier, armed Paleo near settlement shot dead
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says that during military operations in the West Bank city of Jericho last night, “a terrorist tried to ram IDF troops operating in the area.”

According to the IDF, the troops responded with gunfire toward the attempted rammer “and neutralized him.”

The man in question was arrested and no troops were harmed, the IDF adds.

IDF says troops killed armed Palestinian spotted near West Bank settlement of Maoz Tzvi

[IsraelTimes] IDF troops killed a Palestinian gunman who was spotted near the West Bank settlement of Maoz Tzvi a short while ago, the military says.

The IDF says the troops identified the armed Palestinian, opened fire, and killed him.

No other injuries were caused, it adds.

Anonymous video claims Melbourne arson attack on Israel-linked company, threatens workers
[IsraelTimes] In tirade against Israel, Australia and US, masked figure says cell set fire to cars at Lovitt Technologies 10 days ago over supply of parts for planes, warns of further action

An anonymous figure has grabbed credit for the torching of several cars 10 days ago at an Australian engineering company in Melbourne, while threatening that its workers will be targeted if they continue to make weapons components that are used by Israel.

The figure spoke in a video that has been circulating on social media since its release last week, drawing condemnation from the Australian Jewish community on Monday.

Along with accusing Israel of "genocide," the figure scorned "colonialist and imperialists" while criticizing the US, the UK, and "ethnic cleansing, and murder of Aboriginal peoples across so-called Australia."

Police said they were investigating the clip.

In the grainy video, a masked figure dressed in black speaks with an altered voice and claims responsibility for the July 5 attack at the premises of Lovitt Technologies Australia on behalf of "an anonymous cell."

During the attack, antisemitic graffiti was daubed on cars outside the building and on walls, and at least three vehicles were torched. The incident came hours after a July 4 arson attack at a Melbourne synagogue and the mobbing of an Israeli restaurant in the city by pro-Paleostinian activists.

SHOCKING THREAT
Australian businesses are being threatened by 'Free Paleostine' thugs.

"This was not an accident or thoughtless act of vandalism," the figure said. "This is a serious threat."

It said Lovitt, which specializes in precision engineering, was targeted because it was the first Australian producer of parts for the F-35 jet, "proudly deployed in service to colonialism and imperialism" by the US, Israel, Australia, and the UK.

The figure accused "every worker" at Lovitt Technologies of complicity in "genocide" in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
"We will decide your fate, as you have decided the fate of millions," the figure said. "For the past few months, we have been closely watching you. We have your addresses."

"All the information we have about you will be distributed to our underground networks," the figure said. "Stop arming Israel or else."

"Consider this a warning."

The figure then encouraged others to also carry out similar attacks.

The Guardian newspaper reported that the group has also shared footage of the vandalism at Lovitt, apparently taken with a GoPro camera, and that it matches CCTV videos of the incident released by police last week.

"The matter is now being investigated by the Victorian Joint Counter Terrorism Team," a Victoria Police spokeswoman told NewsWire. "Investigators are aware of a video which has been circulating where a group has grabbed credit for the incident."

The same Friday night as the attack on Lovitt, a man set fire to the front door of the busy East Melbourne Hebrew Congregation synagogue while around 20 people were inside for a Shabbat meal. They managed to escape without injury.

In another incident that night, about 20 protesters swarmed an Israeli-owned restaurant while chanting "Death to the IDF." The protesters flipped over tables and smashed a window, according to local media.

Police later charged Angelo Loras, 34, from the Sydney suburb of Toongabbie, for allegedly setting the synagogue ablaze.

The force said that it has not found an organized link between the three incidents.

’DEATH TO THE IDF’
On Sunday, an anti-Israel, pro-Paleostinian rally was held in Melbourne’s central business district.

Participants chanted "death to the IDF" after being urged to do so by the rally leader, identified only as Hajar, the Herald Sun reported.

"This one’s a bit controversial apparently: ’Death, death to the IDF,'" Hajar said, with most of the crowd reportedly joining her.

According to the report, one poster displayed at the rally sought to explain the history of the swastika symbol before it was incorporated by the Nazis, as a way of justifying its use. The poster was covered with the symbol, which is banned in the state of Victoria.

Police later said they were working to determine if the poster amounted to a criminal offense.

"The organizers of these protests say, again and again, that they are protesting peacefully, but their repeated rabble rousing, death chants and hateful messages shows what they are really about," Executive Council of Australian Jewry president Daniel Aghion told the Herald.

"The chant ’death to the IDF’ is a blatant incitement to violence, and as such is already prohibited under Australian law," Australia Israel & Jewish Affairs Council executive director Colin Rubenstein said.

NYC mayor feuds with comptroller over Israel bonds investments
[IsraelTimes] Eric Adams accuses Brad Lander of divesting from Israel in line with BDS policies; comptroller says decision was apolitical, city has hundreds of millions in other Israeli assets

New York City Mayor Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
on Sunday sent a letter to city comptroller Brad Lander, accusing Lander of effectively disinvesting from Israel bonds and linking the policy to the boycott campaign targeting Israel.

Lander rejected the accusations in a letter to Adams’s office, confirming that the city no longer held Israel bonds, but saying the decision against reinvesting in the bonds was in line with his office’s guidelines and not political.

Lander, as comptroller, is the highest-ranking Jew in the city government and identifies as a progressive Zionist. He partnered with New York City Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, a harsh critic of Israel, during the city’s Democratic party mayoral campaign. Mamdani is a longtime supporter of the BDS campaign targeting Israel.

Mamdani won the campaign and is now the party’s nominee for the mayoral general election in November, when he will face off against Adams, who is running as an independent. Adams, who is not Jewish, is a staunch supporter of Israel who has leaned into the Jewish vote during the early stages of his reelection campaign.

Adams’s first deputy mayor, Randy Mastro, sent a letter Sunday on behalf of the Adams administration requesting a review of decision-making and "effective withdrawal" of New York City pension funds from Israel bonds. As comptroller, Lander is responsible for the city’s financial policy and acts as a check on the mayor. Adams and Lander have long had an adversarial relationship.

The Adams letter said "the public record is incomplete" regarding Lander’s Israel bonds investment policies. The mayor’s office said it appeared the city’s pension systems had held tens of millions of dollars in the bonds for decades, resulting in healthy returns with low risk. Under Lander, the bond holdings dropped to less than $1.2 million in the NYPD pension fund, the letter said, accusing Lander of a "sustained and coordinated decision" against reinvestment that had hurt the city’s investment returns because the Israeli bonds outperformed other similar assets.

Disputing Lander’s previous defense, that he had limited investment in all foreign debt, the mayor’s office said that Israel was the only country the city had bought bonds from, according to a copy of the letter Adams’s office shared with The Times of Israel.

"This policy appears to target only Israel bonds. This divestment, occurring amid a global ’Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS)’ campaign against Israel, appears to be in furtherance of that BDS campaign," the letter said.

Adams’s office requested all documents and communications surrounding the Israel bonds policy, including communications with third parties. The letter gave Lander one week to supply the information "because this matter implicates the financial security of hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers."

Lander disputed the mayor’s accusations in a response shared with The Times of Israel on Monday.

Lander mocked the mayor’s administration, saying it was "in poor position to question others about their legal and ethical obligations," an apparent reference to corruption allegations.

He confirmed that New York City had not reinvested in Israel bonds when they matured, does not hold any Israel bonds, and that Israel had been the only country the city had held bonds in. He said the purchase of the assets in the first place had been politically motivated, though, and at odds with his financial responsibilities.

"Prior Comptrollers chose to depart from standard cash management best practices to purchase Israel bonds," the letter said. "There was no credit process in place, no risk management, and no documentation for how purchases were approved."

The investment was "a political decision, not a fiduciary one," the letter said. The city had held more than $39 million in Israel bonds when Lander took office in January 2022. The bonds matured a year later, and the comptroller’s office had decided not to reinvest, in line with guidelines.

The city holds other Israeli assets, Lander said, countering the BDS charge. In May 2025, during the most recent audit, the city’s public pension systems held more than $315 million in Israeli assets, mostly common stocks.

Lander said that, under his stewardship, for the third consecutive year, the city’s investments had outperformed the 7% return targeted by the New York State legislature.

"We treat investments in Israel as we treat investments in any other country. No better, and no worse. The BDS Movement asks investors to treat Israel worse than other countries; I oppose this effort," Lander said. "You appear to be asking that the City’s pension funds treat Israel better than all other countries. That would also be politically motivated, and inconsistent with fiduciary duty."

He accused Adams of seeking to "exploit division" with the charges, adding, "I reject these cynical efforts."

During the mayoral primary, Lander and Mamdani cross-endorsed each other, meaning they asked their supporters to rank the other candidate second in the city’s ranked-choice voting system, which allows voters to select up to five candidates in order of preference. The cross-endorsement was a boost to both campaigns, but primarily Mamdani, because Lander was eliminated as a candidate during the vote counting. His supporters helped Mamdani win the election.

The runner-up was former New York governor Andrew Sonny Cuomo, who had appealed to Jewish voters and highlighted his support for Israel throughout the campaign. Cuomo has registered as an independent and will be on the ballot again for the general election.

Mamdani caused repeated controversies during the campaign with his anti-Israel rhetoric, especially his defense of the phrase "Globalize the intifada."

Justice Ministry says NGO linked to Ra’am party gave funds to terror-supporting groups
[IsraelTimes] Report finds ‘Aid 48’ NGO, linked to Mansour Abbas’s Islamist party, sent money to West Bank charities proscribed by Defense Ministry; bereaved families group wants criminal probe

The Justice Ministry, in a letter from July 7 that was published on Monday, said it found grounds to dissolve the "Aid 48" association, a nonprofit connected to the Islamist Ra’am party, having concluded an investigation over alleged money transfers to groups proscribed for terror links.

"From the association’s records and its responses to requests for information, it appears that the association transferred funds or collaborated with organizations outside Israel, that were declared terror organizations, or are suspected of being linked to terror organizations," the ministry’s Israeli Corporations Authority said in the letter.

"This document should be seen as a warning before initiating liquidation proceedings against the association," the 22-page document concluded.

Aid 48 transferred funds to four organizations purporting to do charity work in the Nablus, Ramallah, and Tulkarem areas of the West Bank that were proscribed by the Defense Ministry in 2008 and 2002, according to the ministry.

The investigation into the group came after pressure from the "Choose Life" Forum, representing bereaved families, which opposed the Ra’am party’s inclusion in former prime minister Naftali Bennett’s coalition, labeling the party "terror supporters."

The forum welcomed the decision to dismantle Aid 48, calling it "a historic victory" and demanded that Ra’am’s leaders — such as MK Mansour Abbas — be "detained for questioning," asserting that "anyone who supported Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
leading up to October 7 must be sent to prison," in a quote carried by Hebrew media.

Though declaredly an Islamist, Abbas has courted controversy among his base by stating that Israel will always be a Jewish state and condemning Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, calling on Paleostinian terror groups to demilitarize.

In a statement in April, when the Justice Ministry first announced its findings, Ra’am blamed the Netanyahu government for funding Hamas and accused it of seeking to divert attention from its own mistakes.

"Since the negotiations on the possible entry of Ra’am into the [previous] coalition began, an ongoing and vicious campaign has been waged against us by extreme right-wing elements, aiming to thwart any chance for the political integration of Arab citizens in the country," it said at the time.

This is done on the back of a humanitarian aid organization that operates with the knowledge and cooperation of all authorized entities in the country. We have no doubt that the organization will prove it acted lawfully."

At the time, Aid 48 itself called the investigation a "campaign of persecution for a clear political goal of thwarting any possibility of a political partnership between Arabs and Jews."

Three members of UN commission investigating Israel resign amid Trump crackdown
[IsraelTimes] Resignations, including of former UN rights chief, come as the US imposes sanctions on international anti-Israel investigators

The three members of a United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
commission tasked with investigating Israel quietly resigned earlier this month.

Navi Pillay, Chris Sidoti, and Miloon Kothari, who made up the UN’s Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Paleostinian Territory, submitted their resignation letters to the president of the UN’s Human Rights Council. The letters surfaced on Monday.

Pillay, 83, the commission’s chair, said she was resigning "owing to age, medical issues and the weight of several other commitments" on July 8.

Sidoti resigned a day later, saying Pillay’s retirement was "an appropriate time to re-constitute the commission," and Kothari said the group had reached an "understanding" during the previous week.

The letters were posted on a back-end Human Rights Council website and first publicized by UN Watch, a nonprofit monitoring group.

The commission will continue to exist once it appoints new members. Jurg Lauber, the head of the UN’s Human Rights Council, asked the council’s member states to propose new members by August 31.

The commission released periodic reports on the Israel-Paleostinian conflict that overwhelmingly blamed Israel. The commission’s most recent report was released in May.

Pillay, a South African jurist, was the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014, during which time she frequently criticized Israel’s actions in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. She chaired the commission of inquiry, which Jewish groups, Israel, the US and other countries have condemned for its alleged bias. It is the council’s first open-ended commission of inquiry, the UNHRC’s highest level of investigation.

The commission overwhelmingly blames Israel for the conflict and accuses the Jewish state of other misdeeds, such as stealing natural resources.

Kothari caused a firestorm of controversy in 2022 when he said that social media was "controlled largely by the Jewish lobby," espousing a common antisemitic trope, and questioned why Israel was allowed in the UN. Pillay defended Kothari’s comments.

Pillay has dismissed antisemitism concerns as a "diversion" and "lies," and called Israeli security concerns "a fiction."

In 2014, over 100 members of Congress signed a letter to Pillay decrying the UNHRC’s bias against Israel under her leadership, saying the council "simply cannot be taken seriously as a human rights

organization" while it was probing Israel, but not Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
The commission’s members resigned as the Trump administration cracks down on international Sherlocks into Israel.

In February, the US slapped wide-ranging sanctions on International Criminal Court chief prosecutor Karim Khan over his decision to file arrest warrants against Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant. The court works closely with the UN.

Khan’s US-based assets were frozen and he was barred from entering the country. He lost access to his email, his bank accounts were frozen and his American staffers were told they were at risk of arrest if they were to enter the US, The News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported in May.

Earlier this month, the US imposed sanctions against UN rapporteur for Paleostinian rights La Belle Francesca Albanese, a harsh critic of Israel with a history of antisemitism. Like Kothari, Albanese has inveighed against the "Jewish lobby."

The commission’s opponents celebrated the trio’s departure.

"First, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio
...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration...
made the historic decision to sanction La Belle Francesca Albanese," said Hillel Neuer, the head of UN Watch. "Now the architects of the UN’s anti-Israel inquisition are fleeing the ship. The tide is turning."

Anne Bayefsky, the head of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust and the nonprofit Human Rights Voices, said Pillay "has spent almost twenty years championing antisemitic causes from the highest of UN jobs."

Both the UN General Assembly and the Human Rights Council condemn Israel more than any other country every year.

#1  Crush the antisemites at ICC, UN, and any other international organization that does not understand that nuclear-armed Israel has a right to exist.
And by threatening Israel's right to exist, you are only threatening yourselves.
Keep Samson asleep.
There is no game condition that ends with"antisemites win" and "Israel lose"

Do that and the world ends in nuclear fire as Israeli missiles rain down on every Arab and European capital, and maybe the US east coast too.

Video of suspected 'honor killing' plot resurfaces as parents stand trial for attempted murder
[FoxNews] Washington parents face attempted murder charges in alleged 'honor killing' plot after boyfriend intervened in violent attack

The trial for a Washington father and his wife accused of trying to kill their 17-year-old daughter in October 2024 is slated to begin Monday.

Ihsan Ali, 44, and his 40-year-old wife, the victim's mother, Zahraa Ali, are charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree attempted kidnapping, first-degree attempted kidnapping, and second-degree domestic violence assault in Thurston County.

Additionally, Ihsan Ali is charged with fourth-degree assault and Zahraa Ali is charged with violation of a domestic violence protective order and second-degree burglary.

The parents' alleged Oct. 18, 2024, attack on their own teenage daughter may have been a possible "honor killing" attempt, according to witness accounts detailed in court documents obtained by Fox News Digital.

The victim told police that her father was "trying to force her to go to another country, which had prompted her to run away earlier in the day."

She went to her former public school, Timberline High School in Lacey County, believing she could get help from adults there, and her father, mother and sister allegedly followed her to the school, an affidavit filed on Oct. 24, 2024, states.

The 17-year-old girl said a school counselor helped her find a room at "Safe Haven," and her plan was to take a city bus from the school to get there. While waiting for the city bus, the victim's father allegedly approached her and "said she needed to go home," the affidavit states.

"He would not take no for an answer and began pulling at her shirt. She said that once she was placed into a choke hold, she was unable to breathe or speak, and then passed out," the affidavit says, adding later that the victim believes she lost consciousness several times while her father allegedly choked her.

Video footage of the attack recently obtained by The Daily Mail shows part of the fight unfolding at the public bus stop.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the Alis' attorney, Erik Kaeding, for comment.

Multiple witness accounts detailed in the affidavit say the victim's father approached and attacked the victim while the victim's 16-year-old boyfriend got between the two and tried to intervene. The victim's father allegedly punched the 16-year-old boy, who in turn began "punching Ishan [Ali] in the head to get him to let go of [the victim]."
Such courage — both moral and physical. That lad’s a keeper, young as he is.
Witnesses also described seeing the victim's eyes roll back while her father allegedly choked her, according to court documents.

The victim's boyfriend's mother later told police that she had been present once for a CPS interview with the 17-year-old victim in which she apparently stated that "her father had recently been threatening her with honor killing for refusing an arranged marriage with an older man in another country."

The victim's boyfriend told police he believed the 17-year-old victim was "going to die while her father was choking her out on the ground," the affidavit reads.

The victim also said she "thought she was going to die" and recalled her mother and sister "trying to grab hold of her" during the incident.

While the fight was underway, a bystander witness saw Ishan Ali put the girl in a chokehold "and would not let go." He intervened "and was eventually able to get the female to break away and detained Ishan for law enforcement as he was the primary aggressor," court documents read.

The boyfriend's father, Victor Barnes, previously told FOX 13 Seattle that he is glad his son "was there to save [the victim's] life" but added that he needs "more explanation about why the adults were so careless."

He told the outlet an adult should have escorted the victim to the bus stop rather than his 16-year-old son.

"High school for me is a time I’d never forget. It was probably some of the four funniest years of my life, and it’s unfortunate he would have to experience something like this in high school," said Barnes.

He further told the outlet that he had to file a restraining order against the victim's parents because they kept showing up to his family's home looking for the victim prior to the assault, FOX 13 reported.
A pack, not a herd. Oh, and send the girl’s family back to Iraq after they serve their sentence — we don’t need that nonsense around here. Including the sister, who helped her parents, not the girl.

At least 2 dead after flash flooding prompts New Jersey state of emergency
[FoxWeather] Officials in Plainfield, New Jersey, say two people were killed when their vehicle was swept away during the height of Monday's storm.

Fierce storms that led to flash flooding across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic on Monday have turned deadly after heavy rainfall unleashed widespread chaos along the Interstate 95 corridor, submerging major cities, transforming streets into waterways and prompting New Jersey to declare a state of emergency.

Officials in Plainfield, New Jersey, confirmed Tuesday morning that at least two people were killed when their vehicle was swept into a raging brook during the height of the storm.

Some areas of the Garden State and portions of Pennsylvania were deluged with over 6 inches of rain in a short period as relentless downpours Monday night into Tuesday morning led to numerous stranded vehicles, impassable roads and multiple water rescues as emergency crews worked to assist those caught in the rising floodwaters.

New York City experienced its second-wettest hour on record (2.07 inches) and shattered a 117-year-old daily rain record on Monday, the FOX Forecast Center notes.

Washington, Baltimore, New York City and Hartford, Connecticut, were just a few of the major cities under Flash Flood Warnings. At one point, around 18 million Americans across the East were under a warning as 2 inches of rain was reported in just one hour in Hopewell, New Jersey, on Monday evening.

If the flooding in the Northeast wasn't enough, a Flash Flood Emergency was issued in southern Virginia overnight, where the cities of Colonial Heights and Petersburg saw several inches of rain that prompted high water rescues throughout the city. Water rescues from apartment buildings were also reported.

The two cities are roughly located just south of Richmond, Virginia. On Sunday, the same areas experienced flooding as well. This now marks the 48th Flash Flood Emergency in 2025.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency for the state due to flash flooding, urging residents to stay off the roads.

Major airports throughout the Northeast reported ground stops while busy commuter trains, including the New York City Subway, NJ Transit and Grand Central's Metro North faced extreme delays or had service suspended.

The FOX Forecast Center said rain will become more scattered Tuesday and Wednesday. Not everyone will see rain, but the gloomy skies will remain for most. For the day on Tuesday, most of the action remains in the mid-Atlantic and Carolinas as a Level 2 out of 4 flash flood risk is present.

Chinese illegals accused of plotting to scam elderly Americans out of life savings
[FoxNews] U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested two Chinese illegals accused of conning elderly Americans out of tens of thousands of dollars, authorities said Tuesday.

"It takes a real dirtbag to prey on our most vulnerable community members by attempting to swindle them out of their hard-earned savings," ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Deputy Field Office Director Joseph Freden said in a statement. "We remain committed to the arrest and removal of aliens who undermine the safety of our communities and the integrity of our laws."

The suspects, charged with separate crimes, have been identified as Jian Chen and Rihui Yan.

Chen allegedly conned a 63-year-old woman out of $42,000 and arranged to obtain nearly $100,000 more in Potsdam, New York. He found agents from Homeland Security Investigations and ICE Enforcement Removal Operations instead of the victim when he went to meet, authorities said.

Yan, whom ICE dubbed a "scam artist and illegal alien," allegedly tried to swindle an elderly Wyoming County couple for $20,000 -- their life savings.

Both are being held without bond pending removal.

"This HSI Massena investigation underscores HSI’s commitment to disrupting and dismantling transnational criminal organizations and groups intent on exploiting our vulnerable communities," said HSI Buffalo Special Agent in Charge Erin Keegan. "We will never stand idly by while bad actors – in this case, illegally present Chinese nationals – target innocent New Yorkers for their own selfish gain,"

A third Chinese suspect, Hui Chen, was arrested on similar charges in October 2024 and is in custody pending deportation, authorities said.

Border officials told Fox News last year that the fastest growing group of illegal migrants crossing the southern border was coming from China.

Since taking office in January, President Donald Trump has led a massive removal campaign targeting criminal aliens across the country.

Not sure if bombing is by IRGC defectors or others.
From the transcript:
Uh uh chaos, mysterious explosions
0:15
and attacks on IRGC bases continued
0:18
across the country over the last few
0:21
hours. And since last night, we've had a
0:22
number of attacks in major cities and
0:25
smaller towns in Iran.
0:42
God bless the state of Israel and God
0:44
bless the Iranian people who are
0:46
fighting against the IRGC tyranny and
0:48
being ignored by the global corporate
0:51
media. H first let's talk about the
0:53
actual details of this. First things
0:55
first, the problem that we've been
0:58
facing and the actual the Islamic
1:00
Republic of Iran are facing explosions
1:03
have been heard and seen in Tan Karaj
1:07
Mashad and Tabris. Now, first things
1:11
first, we have to talk about why some of
1:14
these things who initially, by the way,
1:17
by the Iranian regime, they were
1:18
reported to be uh incidents and
1:22
essentially isolated incidents and
1:24
accidents or whatever. The reality of
1:26
the situation is that by now we do know
1:29
that MOSAD operatives are still
1:31
operating in Iran. We also do know that
1:34
the anti-IRGC Iranians are operating in
1:38
Iran. There is an update on the
1:40
revolution itself which we're going to
1:41
give you because the the queen empress
1:45
of Iran, the mother of Raza Palavi has
1:49
finally come out to also speak out to
1:51
join this revolutionary movement. First,
1:55
let's go to the first video from Tehran.

there's a lot of
5:03
achievements that's been happening.
5:04
Number of assassinations again over the
5:06
last few days and yet again another one
5:08
last night. There is a there was a
5:11
confirmation of the defection of uh
5:15
General Ashani who disappeared ages ago,
5:18
years ago. Then they said that Mossad
5:20
basically kidnapped him but actually he
5:22
turned out to be living in America cuz
5:25
he defected. There's been a number of
5:27
others who have already left the
5:29
country. We don't know how many days or
5:32
weeks this regime has. But let's go to
5:35
the video of the post targeted
5:37
assassination of yet another IRGC
5:40
member.
5:50
Essentially what you're saying is the
5:52
war is continuing.
5:55
the same level of uh destruction is
5:58
continuing and
6:02
but nobody has nobody basically seems to
6:04
think anything is going on because the
6:07
media is not saying

DOJ to Reduce Foreign Languages in Government Services
[Breitbart] The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it will be reducing the use of foreign languages in the government.

In a press release, the DOJ explained that it would be leading “a coordinated effort across federal agencies to minimize non-essential multilingual services.” As part of the coordinated effort, resources will be redirected to “English-language education and assimilation.” The policy follows President Donald Trump’s executive order making English the official language of the United States.

“As President Trump has made clear, English is the official language of the United States,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement. Bondi added that the DOJ would be leading “the effort to codify” Trump’s executive order and to “eliminate wasteful virtue-signaling policies across government agencies to promote assimilation over division.”

At the beginning of March, Trump signed an executive order designating English as the official language of the U.S.

“From the founding of our Republic, English has been used as our national language,” the executive order states. “Our Nation’s historic governing documents, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, have all been written in English. It is therefore long past time that English is declared as the official language of the United States.”

Breitbart News has also reported that the Trump administration directed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to “end language translation services” for people who called inquiring about their immigration or employment status.

Europe
What Dead Birds Have to Do with the End of Europe
[Free Press] Two years ago Michela Padovani, a 32-year-old microbiologist from Verona, traveled to Venice for Italy’s once-a-year taxidermy licensing exam. Venice is the only city that allows the Italian Taxidermy Association (ATI) to administer its test. Twenty years ago, Padovani might have been part of a cohort of 10 or 15 aspiring taxidermists. But she is the only taxidermist to have earned a license that year—or since.

Padovani, a sunny and soft-spoken blonde, likes birds, puzzles, and collecting. Taxidermy drew the three interests together. "It seemed so precise and creative, so satisfying, as a craft," she told me this spring. The weekend-long Italian National Taxidermy Championship was winding down and Padovani, who had just won Best in Show in Birds—for a first-place cuckoo, a parakeet, and a long-tailed glossy starling, embalmed dragonfly in its beak—kvelled over her awards.

Outside her orbit, however, the mood was more glum. "We have an enormous problem," said Iginio Bressan, president emeritus of the ATI.

"Twenty years ago we had 400 entries," said Piero Della Libera, a 66-year-old graphic designer who won third prize in small birds for a blue-gray thrush. "Now we have 81."

Government Corruption
Secret Service officials were aware of ‘classified threat' 10 days before Butler assassination attempt, failed to tell agents guarding Trump
[NYP] Senior-level Secret Service officials failed to share "classified threat information" related to President Trump with those assigned to protect him during the Pennsylvania campaign rally where he was nearly assassinated, according to a congressional watchdog report.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) found the classified intelligence had been presented to Secret Service officials a full 10 days before the July 13, 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, but the agency’s "siloed practice for sharing" sensitive information resulted in few being aware of the threat against Trump’s life.

The special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s Pittsburgh field office, which oversees the district where the rally took place, told the GAO he did not receive any information about a threat, either.

"He reported that if he had received the threat information, he would have requested additional assets, such as ballistic glass, additional drone mitigation, and a full counter sniper advance team, among other assets," the report states.

The Secret Service had "multiple opportunities to share this information" leading up to the rally "but repeatedly failed to do so," Gassley’s office contends.

"[T]he Secret Service had no process to share classified threat information with partners when the information was not considered an imminent threat to life," read the GAO report, released Saturday by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).
1. Invent a process.
2. Fire the senior officials who didn’t. It’s their job to see that need and handle it.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Gavin Newsom Taunts Texas on Redistricting, but Can't Deliver on Threat
[Breitbart] California Gov. Gavin Newsom taunted Texas over redrawing its congressional districts, suggesting he would retaliate — though California, with an independent redistricting commission, has no legal way of doing so.

Last week, Newsom posted a clip of an interview on X in which he said that California “is watching — and you can bet we won’t stand idly by” as Texas redrew congressional districts in a special session of the legislature.

Newsom failed to note that redistricting is only one of 18 items on the agenda for the special session; that the state was responding to a U.S. Department of Justice demand that it redraw the districts, because they were allegedly drawn in an unconstitutional manner; and that the Texas legislature does not meet year-round.

“These guys — they’re not fucking around,” Newsom said, claiming that he was trying to “raise the bar of bipartisanship in California,” while noting that his state had an independent redistricting commission.

In his post on X, Newsom hinted that California might find a way to respond to the redistricting in Texas.

However, as the San Francisco Chronicle explained, Newsom does not have the power to retaliate:

California’s laws constrain Newsom from responding in kind to any efforts in Texas to redraw maps to favor Republicans. Voters in California took that power from the state Legislature in 2008 and handed it to an independent redistricting commission, which draws the lines for California’s congressional and state legislative districts. Though Newsom is correct that Democrats dominate the Legislature, they do not dominate the redistricting commission. By law, the commission comprises five Democrats, five Republicans and four commissioners not affiliated with either party.

Sara Sadhwani, a politics professor at Pomona College who serves as one of the Democratic commissioners, said the governor doesn’t have any power over the commission’s activities and can’t force it to draw new maps in Democrats’ favor.

“In this national context, I can understand the governor’s inclination to want to retaliate,” she said. “However the people of California have made it clear at the ballot that the governor does not have that power.”

It is possible that Newsom may have been thinking of the way in which Democrats have gamed the nominally “independent” commission to make California districts more favorable to Democrats. The left-leaning news outlet ProPublica documented how Democrats “fooled” the commission by organizing local groups to testify about district boundaries who did not actually represent communities, but were working for the party.

Newsom may have given the game away, telling the truth about the “independent” commission.

Still, he lacks the power, legally to do anything about what Texas does to redraw its districts.

As for “raising the bar of bipartisanship,” Democrats recently stripped key Republicans of their committee posts in the state legislature.

California also opposes excluding illegal migrants from the Census, because then it would lose more congressional seats than it already has in recent years due to slow growth relative to states like Texas.

Musk's Grok signs $200m deal with Pentagon days after antisemitism row
[BBC] The Pentagon has signed a multi-million dollar deal to begin using Elon Musk's artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok, as part of a wider rollout of AI tools for government use, the Department of Defence confirmed.

Announced on Monday by Musk's company xAI, the $200m (£149m) contract is part of its "Grok for Government" programme, and aligns with the Trump administration's push for more aggressive adoption of artificial intelligence.

It comes just days after Grok sparked backlash for spouting antisemitic posts, including praise for Adolf Hitler on X, the social media platform owned by Musk.

Musk said the bot was "too compliant" and "too eager to please". He said the issue was being addressed.

Musk's xAI says the new deal will give US government departments access to Grok 4, the latest version of the chatbot, and offer custom tools for national security use.

The company also plans to provide technical support for classified environments.

The Pentagon also announced awarding similar contracts to Anthropic, Google and OpenAI - each with a $200m ceiling.

"The adoption of AI is transforming the Department's ability to support our warfighters and maintain strategic advantage over our adversaries," said the administration's Chief Digital and AI Officer Doug Matty.

Musk says Grok chatbot was 'manipulated' into praising Hitler

WHAT IS AI AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Musk's expanding government partnerships come amid a deteriorating relationship with President Donald Trump.

The Tesla and SpaceX boss had spent a quarter of a billion dollars on Trump's re-election effort in 2024, and actively campaigned for him.

He was later appointed to run the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) - a federal cost-cutting initiative tasked with reducing the size of the US government.

But in recent months, Musk began openly criticising what Trump had dubbed the "Big Beautiful Bill", a sprawling spending and tax cuts legislation that the Tesla boss said was too costly for Americans.

Musk resigned from his post at Doge in May, though the department has not been officially disbanded.

Since then, Trump had suggested Doge could be deployed to harm Musk's companies.

Trump also suggested he might deport Musk, who is an American citizen and was born in South Africa. He also holds Canadian citizenship.

While at the helm of Doge, the White House was criticised for allowing Musk to have unfettered access to troves of government data on American citizens.

Despite the fall-out, Musk's xAI has continued to expand its government work. Its newly-announced contract may also create an avenue for that data collection to continue.

Grok was introduced in late 2023 as a more unfiltered alternative to other AI chatbots like ChatGPT. It is already integrated into Musk's social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Government Corruption
No matter how bad you think Covid policies were, they were intended to be worse.
In the end, they lost. We won.
[Brownstone] Consider the vaccine passports alone. Six cities were locked down to include only the vaccinated in public indoor places. They were New York City, Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., and Seattle. The plan was to enforce this with a vaccine passport. It broke. Once the news leaked that the shot didn’t stop infection or transmission, the planners lost public support and the scheme collapsed.

It was undoubtedly planned to be permanent and nationwide if not worldwide. Instead, the scheme had to be dialed back.

Features of the CDC’s edicts did incredible damage. It imposed the rent moratorium. It decreed the ridiculous "six feet of distance" and mask mandates. It forced Plexiglas as the interface for commercial transactions. It implied that mail-in balloting must be the norm, which probably flipped the election. It delayed the reopening as long as possible. It was sadistic.

Even with all that, worse was planned. On July 26, 2020, with the George Floyd riots having finally settled down, the CDC issued a plan for establishing nationwide quarantine camps. People were to be isolated, given only food and some cleaning supplies. They would be banned from participating in any religious services. The plan included contingencies for preventing suicide. There were no provisions made for any legal appeals or even the right to legal counsel.

The plan’s authors were unnamed but included 26 footnotes. It was completely official. The document was only removed on about March 26, 2023. During the entire intervening time, the plan survived on the CDC’s public site with little to no public notice or controversy.

It was called "Interim Operational Considerations for Implementing the Shielding Approach to Prevent COVID-19 Infections in Humanitarian Settings."

#2  "He knew nothing" is indeed the only viable explanation.

They could have drafted one proclamation containing all details regarding all pardons. Only one physical signature would have been required, not dozens.

Jimmy Carter did literally pardon hundreds of thousands of people if 1977 with one stroke of the pen, so there is precedent.

These pardons were made against Biden's will or they didn't run them by Biden for fear of an explicit refusal.

#7  About autopens, for Procopius 2k:

I asked Mr. Wife, who spent the last third of his career negotiating outside projects for his international Fortune 100 employer. He says that he did, and still does use, autopen/electronic signatures for contracts emailed back and forth, often Adobe PDFs and other contract programs. They are perfectly legal. I can even sign for him — not work but household stuff — because I hold his power of attorney, and I’ve signed such things in my own right for contracts for our house, most recently to remove squirrels from the attic and seal the entry holes.

BUT, wherever the signature is not actually witnessed it can be challenged if there is a question of validity. If it’s his signature, for instance, but it can be proved that that day he was in a car accident and undergoing surgery at the time that he was supposedly clicking the signature block in the form on his computer screen.

Hope that helps!

Big Fertility Needs To Be Honest With Patients About The Consequences Of IVF
[Federalist] When faced with infertility, Ericka Andersen turned to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in hopes of finally having children of her own. A committed pro-life advocate, she believed IVF aligned with her values. But it wasn’t until she gave birth to her children that she learned how many extra embryos had been created in the process.

No one prepared Ericka for the weight that she would carry because of her decision. Years later, she lives with daily pain and grief over the nine lives she never expected to create but cannot ignore.

"Today, I have two healthy, amazing children [that] were conceived from this decision and I am everyday grateful for this," she wrote recently in a Substack post. "However, I have deep anguish at the lives that I haven’t carried, the siblings of my children that they will never meet. The babies I will never know, whose eyes I will not see, whose bodies I will not rock, whose smiles I will not recognize."

Too many families like Ericka’s begin their IVF journey without fully understanding the implications, risks, and decisions they will face. Behind the closed doors of fertility clinics, thousands of embryos are being created daily, but we have no idea exactly how many and what the fate is for each of them.

Families deserve to know what they are consenting to, and the public deserves insight into an industry that has significant ethical issues but is currently operating with little oversight.

IVF is a process in which a woman’s eggs are fertilized outside of the womb in hopes of increasing her chances of having a live birth. The IVF process consists of four main steps. The first is egg retrieval from the woman. Then comes the key step in the process, fertilization; it is at this point that the egg goes from a gamete to a human embryo with its own unique set of DNA. After the embryo is created, it is then transferred into the uterus, and, in most cases, embryo freezing follows to preserve the leftover embryos that did not get transferred.

Dr. Fauci referred to top prosecutor for criminal charges after bombshell Biden autopen pardon revelation
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Republican Rand Paul is redoubling his efforts in his investigation into the man who led America's COVID-19 response, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

The Kentucky senator, who has grilled Fauci about the pandemic since 2021, is demanding that he be criminally prosecuted for lying to Congress in light of new shocking details about his presidential pardon.

Fauci was granted a preemptive pardon by ex-President Joe Biden as he left office, which could shield him from some consequences related to the pandemic.

But Biden admitted the pardon was signed by autopen, and not himself, raising questions about his mental state as he issued the sweeping relief for Fauci.

'If the President didn’t authorize this pardon personally, then the Department has a duty to investigate and prosecute as it would any ordinary citizen,' Paul wrote in a post on X made Monday afternoon, announcing his latest legal move against Fauci.

Paul told the Daily Mail last month that he was preparing to subpoena Fauci as part of an expanded Senate investigation into the origins of Covid-19 and US-funded research in Wuhan, China.

The goal: scrutinize Fauci's role in approving controversial virus experiments.

Paul announced earlier on Monday that he would 'reissue [his] criminal referral of Anthony Fauci to Trump DOJ!'

Navy's next-generation submarine program faces alarming delay to 2040
The increased finding in the Big Beautiful Bill President Trump just signed will help.
[FoxNews] Production constraints and rising costs force nine-year delay as shipbuilding programs operate in 'perpetual state of triage'

The Navy’s next-generation attack submarine won’t be a reality for at least 15 years, according to a new report.

The Navy’s SSN(X) was originally slated to enter production in 2031. That timeline has since slipped – to 2035 and now to 2040, due to escalating costs and budget constraints.

The Navy requested $623 million in its FY 2026 budget to advance the program.

This new class is expected to emphasize stealth, intelligence gathering, larger torpedo payloads and advanced connectivity with unmanned undersea systems.
Under the circumstances, the new boss might want to review the plan and the possibilities — do they want to skip straight to the generation after that?
The report urges lawmakers to consider whether the delay could threaten U.S. undersea dominance and the Navy’s ability to conduct critical missions.

At around 10,000 tons, the SSN(X) is projected to cost between $6.7 billion and $8 billion per vessel, making it significantly more expensive than the Virginia‑class subs it’s intended to replace.

Virginia‑class boats cost approximately $4 billion each and have been in service since 1998. The Navy typically procures two per year, but actual production has slowed to just 1.2–1.4 subs annually, resulting in a growing backlog of funded but unconstructed boats.

For FY 2025, the Navy requested only one Virginia‑class submarine due to production constraints. Only two U.S. shipyards – Electric Boat and Newport News – are equipped to build nuclear-powered submarines.

The report also encourages lawmakers to examine the impact of deferring production on the industrial base and whether shifting from highly enriched uranium reactors to low-enriched uranium might offer cost or safety advantages.

Meanwhile, the Navy aims to grow its fleet from 296 to 381 ships in the coming decades – but experts warn that major industrial expansion would be required to reach those targets.

"We need more ships delivered on time and on budget, and we are challenged in both arenas," said Brett A. Seidle, acting assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition, during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing. "Costs are rising faster than inflation, and schedules on multiple programs are delayed one to three years."

Despite nearly doubling its shipbuilding budget over the past two decades, the Navy has consistently fallen short of its ship-count goals. The Government Accountability Office noted that Navy shipbuilding programs and yards are effectively operating in a "perpetual state of triage."

Last month, Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D‑Conn., the top Democrat on the Appropriations Committee, pressed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on his plan to expand shipbuilding capacity.

"I want your plan. Can we get that in writing and on paper? Because we don’t have anything today – zip, nada," she said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Two French intelligence agencies did not share Lebanon and 'burned' their own agents
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Leonid Tsukanov
[REGNUM] Lebanon, a country traditionally considered a French zone of influence, is at odds with two of the Fifth Republic's intelligence services: the Directorate General of External Security (DGSE) and the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DRM).

In June, the DRM significantly increased its presence and activity in Lebanon, which did not please the DGSE resident. A fight for territory broke out between the services using less than ethical methods.

And a couple of weeks later, the scandal, which had been hushed up, received an unexpected continuation: the “French connection” suddenly led Beirut to Syrian illegals who, for some reason, were receiving funding from France.

STRUGGLE FOR INFLUENCE
Despite the fact that DGSE and DRM are formally assigned to the same department (the French Ministry of Defence), there is an unspoken rivalry between them, which is also due to self-perception.

The DGSE traces its history back to the second half of the 19th century and considers itself one of the "pillars" of French security. While military intelligence, on the contrary, is relatively young and was only made an independent agency in 1992.

This is where the “proprietorial” trait inherent to DGSE operatives comes from – they consider the territory of Lebanon “theirs” and do not tolerate the appearance of “outsiders” there. Even if they are compatriots and colleagues in the shop.

This is what happened in June, when the DRM headquarters, without properly informing foreign intelligence, sent a group of special forces from the capital's garrison to Beirut "to strengthen the military attaché's apparatus." The military intelligence officers who arrived in Lebanon were tasked with collecting information about the situation in the country, the real positions of Hezbollah, the activity of Iranian agents of influence, and the pace of disarmament of the Lebanese Shiite militias.

For some time, the DGSE residency turned a blind eye to the work of the guests from Paris. However, they quickly began to behave in Lebanon in a more homely manner, holding meetings with representatives of local political and military movements, thereby taking on the functions of foreign intelligence. Moreover, the leadership of the "seconded" began to double-check even the information and reports that came from Lebanon through the DGSE, which caused indignation among the latter. Foreign intelligence accused the military apparatus of "threatening" French interests in the Middle East.

And a little later, the two special services also had a falling out over the local agents. The DRM complained that the Beirut residency was “disrupting meetings” with local residents and activists, and was accusing military intelligence of “intercepting foreign informants.” In response, the DGSE representatives stated that the “military attaché’s office” was engaged in political intelligence for some reason and was looking for new connections in local parties, but was not working with the military at all.

The "Lebanon incident" is interesting because it quickly took a dangerous turn - the intelligence officers abandoned their ethics and began to threaten each other with "exposing" overzealous operatives.

This was fraught with political consequences for Paris if they came to the attention of official Beirut and Hezbollah functionaries.

The conflict had to be resolved at the headquarters level, with the involvement of the heads of the special services - Nicolas Lerner (DGSE) and Jacques Langlade de Mongro (DRM). The head of the defense department, Sebastien Lecornu, acted as the "arbitrator".

In the end, the situation was resolved in favor of the DGSE. The DRM command gave in and agreed to "slow down" when working in Lebanon. An additional DGSE employee was also assigned to the military attaché's office in the country, which was supposed to emphasize the "détente" between the intelligence services.

A major role in the settlement was played by the authority of Lerner, who, although considered one of the youngest heads of foreign intelligence in the history of France, has great influence on the course of the Elysee Palace and enjoys the favor of Lecornu and other ministers.

In addition, his opponent de Mongro quickly realized that conflict with the foreign intelligence residency in Lebanon was not advisable from the point of view of Paris's long-term interests. If the spearhead of the DGSE's work is "aimed" at the Middle East, then for military intelligence this region remains in the background.

De Mongro's subordinates are much more interested in Ukraine, due to insufficient attention to which the general's predecessor lost his shoulder straps. Apparently, the chief of military intelligence was unable to explain why the DRM is dispersing its efforts on the Middle East instead of working "on a priority basis".

Despite the fact that the aftertaste remained, the bosses preferred to hush up the scandal before it became public knowledge and required the personal intervention of the French president. For both bosses, this would have meant big problems at work.

THE FRENCH CONNECTION
Although the conflict between the two French intelligence services was quickly resolved, it did not go unnoticed by the Lebanese elite.

And the reason is the excessive diligence of the DGSE operatives. Wanting to sting their opponents, they “leaked” to the Lebanese press a column criticizing the activities of French military intelligence in the country.

The planted journalist was outraged by the “abundance of foreign soldiers” in Lebanon (and especially in Beirut), wondering whether this was a sign of preparations for “something big.” And although the most seedy local newspaper was specifically chosen for the critical campaign, the passages from it coincided with the fears of the masses and quickly spread across Lebanese social networks.

In response to the unrest, official Beirut decided to carry out several counterintelligence and police actions - emphatically public ones, to show that the situation is under control and that no one will allow a "spy rampage".

The raids took place in the camps for Syrian refugees of Anfe, Bishmezin and Amyoun, which had previously been visited by French military intelligence officers. Moreover, they did so quite officially, with inspections that were carried out within the framework of a joint program of “strengthening the borders” and with the permission of the country’s president, Joseph Aoun.

More than a hundred people who were in Lebanon illegally were arrested. Some of those arrested later admitted that they had been in contact with DRM operatives but had not received any instructions from them.

And although most of those detained turned out to be simple illegals, there were some dubious elements among them. In particular, at least three people from Syria were caught “preparing destabilizing actions” on Lebanese territory and admitted to receiving foreign funding and “instructions from Israel.”

The latter is probably a standard formulation chosen by Lebanese security forces to further expose Tel Aviv, which is increasing its military activity in the south of the country.

More importantly, the potential saboteurs (whose names the Lebanese security forces are not disclosing) were sponsored by companies registered in France. This only strengthened Beirut's suspicions that Paris was planning to use the recruited refugees for its own interests. And it used military intelligence for these purposes.

RESULTS OF THE CONFLICT
At first glance, the DGSE residency was not affected by the new round of conflict. Including because after the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria in December 2024, it has not been very active in working with Syrian refugees, fearing to spoil relations with the new Damascus and complicate the work of agents.

The military intelligence became the scapegoat, which in exchange for containing the scandal had to reduce the number of officers assigned to the military attaché's office. In exchange for this, official Beirut agreed not to make the story public, shifting the focus to Israel.

On the other hand, foreign intelligence was also unable to emerge from the water completely dry.

The shell companies used to pay the salaries of potential agents of influence had previously figured in spy scandals in Mali and Burkina Faso and had links to people from the DGSE.

This suggests that Paris was aware of the planned action and took part in it, although it used its resources in a very limited format.

If the two agencies had not started fighting for territory, this action might have gone unnoticed. Now Beirut has to figure out what goals the Syrians sent to the country were pursuing and who they were supposed to cooperate with after arriving in Lebanon.

This means that French foreign intelligence will also have to slow down in Lebanon for a while. At least until the scandal dies down.

At least 30 people killed in armed clashes in Syria's Sweida, says interior ministry; IDF shoots down HTS tanks to protect Druze
[GEO.TV] At least 30 people were killed and 100 injured in a preliminary count in armed clashes between local military groups and tribes in Syria's predominantly Druze city of Sweida, Syria's interior ministry said early on Monday.
Sweida sounds like an artificial sugar substitute
The ministry said that its forces will directly intervene to resolve the conflict and halt the clashes.

IDF strikes several tanks in south Syria as regime forces, Bedouin clash with Druze

[IsraelTimes] Army says it hit tanks to ‘prevent their arrival’ at sites of fighting against Druze, in rare occurrence of Israel targeting forces of Syria’s new government; no injuries reported

The Israeli military on Monday carried out a strike against several tanks near the southern Syrian village of Sami’, in the Sweida area, where Syrian government forces and Bedouin tribes have clashed with Druze militias in recent days. It said the move was aimed at protecting the Druze and thwarting any threat to Israel.

The military released footage of the strike, and said the tanks were struck after they were identified heading toward Sweida, and that “the IDF struck the tanks to prevent their arrival to the area.”

The footage indicated that a small munition was launched from an Israeli Air Force drone in the strike, to “disrupt” the arrival of the tanks in the area. There were no reports of injuries in the incident.

“The presence of these assets in southern Syria may pose a threat to the State of Israel. The IDF will not allow the establishment of a military threat in southern Syria and will operate against it,” the statement said, adding that “the IDF continues to monitor the developments in the area.”

The strike marks an apparent rare occurrence of Israel striking military forces of Syria’s new government. Israeli officials have said that they seek to completely demilitarize the southern Syria area, and not allow any armed groups to enter it and gain a foothold, including those of the new Syrian government.

Hours after the strike, Defense Minister Israel Katz said its purpose was to send “a message and a clear warning to the Syrian regime. We will not allow harm to the Druze in Syria.”

“Israel will not stand idly by,” he added.

In the same area, there have been deadly clashes between Bedouin tribes and Druze fighters in recent days. Israel has previously vowed to protect members of Syria’s Druze community.

Dozens of people have been killed in the fighting, and government security forces that were sent to restore order Monday also clashed with local armed groups.

Syria’s Interior Ministry has said more than 30 people have died and nearly 100 others have been injured. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based war monitor, reported at least 89 dead, including two children, two women, and 14 members of the security forces.

The clashes in Syria initially broke out between armed groups from the Druze and Sunni Bedouin clans, the observatory said, with some members of the government security forces “actively participating” in support of the Bedouins.

Rami Abdurrahman, who heads the observatory, said the recent conflict started with the kidnapping and robbery of a Druze vegetable seller, leading to tit-for-tat attacks and kidnappings.

Interior Ministry spokesperson Noureddine al-Baba said government forces entered Sweida in the early morning to restore order.

“Some clashes occurred with outlawed armed groups, but our forces are doing their best to prevent any civilian casualties,” he told the state-run Al-Ikhbariya TV.

Title: Here We Go. Obama Under Investigation for Corruption Scandal.

Text: FBI Director Kash Patel has launched a “Grand Criminal Conspiracy”

According to a report by JustTheNews, Barack Obama, John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey, and other high-level Obama-era operatives have been named in the investigation, which shows a coordinated criminal conspiracy to target political enemies, shield Democrat allies, and manipulate multiple presidential elections — from 2016 through 2024.

But it gets better: The probe may now shift jurisdiction to Florida — thanks to none other than Special Counsel Jack Smith’s own raid on Mar-a-Lago.

US May Send Ukraine Long-Range JASSM Missiles for F-16s, Media Writes
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The office of US President Donald Trump is discussing the possibility of sending long-range JASSM missiles to Ukraine to equip F-16 fighters. This was reported on July 14 by Military Watch Magazine, citing an informed source.

"Trump is considering the possibility of supplying JASSM air-launched cruise missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to a recent report from a well-informed source. The missiles would be used to equip the growing fleet of F-16 fighters," the publication says.

Despite the fact that Kyiv has outdated modifications of these aircraft, they can become effective carriers for JASSM missiles when performing missions on their own territory, the source noted.

The authors of the article named the shortage of European analogues of these missiles as one of the reasons why Kyiv may receive JASSM from Washington.

Open sources indicate that the JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile) is an American high-precision air-to-surface cruise missile capable of hitting targets at a distance of 370 to 1000 km, depending on the version. It was developed by Lockheed Martin Corporation on behalf of the US Air Force.

Blue city officers flocking to cop-friendly red states, police leader says: ‘Why would anyone stay?'
[FoxNews] Law enforcement officers in areas primarily run by Democrats continue to flock to red states for job security, better pay and bosses who will back them up, according to one police leader.

Joe Gamaldi is the national vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). He is an active lieutenant with the Houston Police Department, and he said police in blue cities are tired of facing hostility from local leaders.

"What we've seen is really a mass exodus of police officers leaving far-left cities for basically greener pastures," he told Fox News Digital.

"Because, ultimately, people want to feel appreciated for what they do, and when you have a boss — in this case, mayors or city councils, who regularly call you a piece of crap to the public — why would anyone stay?"

Florida is one example of a Republican-led state that has benefited from the mass departures.

According to a 2024 statement from former Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, the state welcomed 5,000 law enforcement recruits between 2022 and last year, and 1,200 of them came from out of state.

"Florida is the most pro-law enforcement state in the nation because we back our blue," Moody said at the time. "We’ve been spreading the word about all the great incentives to join our ranks, and individuals like the new Sarasota recruits have answered the call, leaving behind places where their service was not as appreciated as it is here."

She said she was "as inspired as ever to continue doing all we can to show our support to those who bravely protect and serve" after seeing the influx of police officers into the state.

Gamaldi said officers are also moving to cities that may lean blue but are in red states and still have the support of elected leadership and the community, adding officers are "voting with their feet."

"We're also seeing it [in] Texas in Houston, which is a city that leans a little blue, but they have been supportive of police officers," he said. "The mayor there has given a massive raise to police officers. You're seeing officers go there. You're seeing officers go to Dallas. So, you're seeing all these communities, and there's one common thread. It's ‘We support police officers.'"

Gamaldi emphasized that the trend began after the 2020 defund the police movement and said, in many cities, law enforcement officers are afraid to do their jobs in "critical incident" situations, even when they do them by the book.

"I think you can look no further than Seattle, Portland, Chicago [and] New York," he said. "All of these cities have basically told their police officers, 'We don't support you. We're not gonna be there for you when you need us. We're gonna try to defund you when given the opportunity.'

"I mean, my goodness, right now, one of the mayoral candidates for New York has actively said he wants to defund and dismantle the police department," Gamaldi said, referring to socialist Zohran Mamdani, who has been open with his anti-police rhetoric.

'Owner from the Emirates, don't shoot!'
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] Message from a vessel in the Red Sea:

"Emirati owner, don't shoot."

The Houthis regularly receive such messages as part of Yemen's notification regime for passage off the country's coast. Many send such messages proactively to avoid attacks from Houthi controllers.

Those who do not respond to the warnings or silently proceed to Israeli ports are legitimate military targets.
….except for the illegitimacy of the entire enterprise, anyway. How is this different from priracy?
How this happens was clearly demonstrated last week by the example of two large dry cargo ships linked to Israel. After that, the flow of people wanting to prove to the Houthis that they have no ties to Israel increased sharply.

Syria says wildfires in Latakia province contained after 10 days
[IsraelTimes] Syria’s civil defense agency says wildfires in the country’s west, which have burned vast tracts of forest and farmland and forced evacuations, have been brought under control after 10 days.

In a statement on Facebook, the agency says that “with the spread of the fires halted and the fire hotspots brought under control on all fronts” on Saturday, teams on the ground were working to cool down the affected areas while monitoring any signs of reignition.

The blazes in the coastal province of Latakia broke out amid an intense heatwave across the region.

The UN humanitarian agency OCHA said they destroyed about 100 square kilometers (40 square miles) of forest and farmland.

As the fires raged, Syrian emergency workers faced tough conditions including high temperatures, strong winds, rugged mountainous terrain and the danger of explosive war remnants.

VIDEO ‐ Tragedy: Worker Falls into Industrial Food Processor at California Burrito Factory
Of such things are urban legends made.
[Breitbart] A 19-year-old man tragically died on Sunday evening while working in the kitchen at Tina’s Burritos factory in Vernon, California.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it received a call about a worker being hurt at the facility, ABC 7 reported on Monday.

While the man was cleaning an industrial food processor, the machine unexpectedly activated and he began screaming for others to help him switch it off. However, employees were unable to do so, Vernon Police Department Sgt. Daniel Onopa explained, adding the young man had already passed away when they arrived at the scene.

KTLA specified the machine the man fell into was a meat grinder. The outlet’s video showed people at the scene who appeared to be upset following the incident.
Upset is one way to describe it…
The outlet said the man’s identity was not released pending his family’s notification:

“Sgt. Onopa said there was no indication of foul play and that it appears to be a terrible accident,” the ABC 7 report stated.

President Trump just announced he's sending 'EVERYTHING' to NATO.
[X]
…What comes next is “weapons flowing at a record level to help Ukraine defend themselves.”

Here’s the full scoop on Trump’s announcement today—and what it means for NATO and the war in Ukraine.

🧵 THREAD

US to send Patriot air defense system to Ukraine as furious Trump blasts two-faced Putin: 'He talks nice, then bombs everybody'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] President Donald Trump
...So far he's been unkillable, and they've tried....
announced on Sunday he will send Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine in its war against Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked for more defensive capabilities to fend off a daily barrage of missile and drone attacks from Russia.

'We will send them Patriots, which they desperately need, because [Russian President Vladimir] Putin really surprised a lot of people. He talks nice and then bombs everybody in the evening,' Trump told news hounds at Joint Base Andrews just outside of Washington DC.

'But there's a little bit of a problem there. I don't like it,' he said.

'We basically are going to send them various pieces of very sophisticated military equipment. They are going to pay us 100 percent for that, and that's the way we want it,' Trump said.

The stunning announcement comes just days after it was revealed that the president told a private meeting he once warned Putin he would 'bomb the **** out of Moscow' if he were to attack Ukraine.

Apparently in reference to his first term, Trump said: 'With Putin I said, "If you go into Ukraine, I’m going to bomb the **** out of Moscow. I'm telling you I have no choice."'

Guterres Reacts to Trump's Threats to Impose Anti-Russian Sanctions
Anything that will help the ceasefire is important, but it must be done in accordance with international law. This is how UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres commented on US President Donald Trump's threats to impose new sanctions against Russiaon July 14.

"We absolutely need an immediate ceasefire that would pave the way for a political solution based on the Charter, international law and the various resolutions of UN bodies. Anything that can help achieve these goals will of course be important, if, of course, it is done in accordance with international law," he said at a press conference.

Earlier in the day, Trump said he was unhappy with the delays in resolving the conflict in Ukraine and threatened to impose secondary tariffs of 100% on goods from Russia if progress was not made in the next 50 days.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 14, Trump emphasized that he was still committed to a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict and expressed confidence that Washington would not impose new anti-Russian sanctions. According to the head of the White House, Russia has incredible potential, including in the area of trade.

Government Corruption
FBI opens 'grand conspiracy' probe on weaponization, opening door to special prosecutor
How exciting— happy hunting, guys!
[JustTheNews] The FBI has quietly launched an investigation into a decade of Democratic party and deep-state antics from Russia collusion to Jack Smith, opening the door for the appointment of a special prosecutor to examine whether the well-documented episodes amount to a criminal conspiracy to meddle in three U.S. elections to the benefit of Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
and the detriment of President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
, Just the News has learned.

The "grand conspiracy" case was opened several weeks ago after new FBI Director Kash Patel took over, and it could get a significant boost if Trump were to declassify two secret tranches of evidence that identify a potential ignition point to the alleged conspiracy in the summer of 2016, according to several people directly familiar with the inquiry, who spoke to Just the News on a condition of anonymity.

The first piece of evidence is a classified annex to a years-old inspector general probe of Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away. Politix is not one of her talents, but it's something she keeps trying to do...
’s improper email server sought by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley. That annex is believed to show that credible information about possible wrongdoing was intentionally ignored by the FBI.

The second tranche of evidence was identified by former Russiagate Special Counsel John Durham in his final report. The evidence was dubbed in the report as the "Clinton plan intelligence," and it was also placed in a classified annex kept from the American public and even many members of Congress.

Excerpts from the publicly-available and unclassified Durham report show that U.S. spy agencies were aware that Clinton’s 2016 campaign was concocting a bogus Russia collusion narrative to harm Trump’s election chances before the FBI opened its now-discredited Crossfire Hurricane probe, in part using evidence created by the Clinton campaign or offered by Clinton associates.

Both pieces of evidence have remained sealed from public view for nearly a decade and are highly classified because they reveal sensitive intelligence-gathering methods, officials said.

The FBI declined comment.

Somali intelligence kills seven Al-Shabaab militants in Hiiraan operation
[ShabelleMedia] Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) conducted a targeted operation against al-Shabaab

holy warriors in the village of Buulo-Xoog near Buq-Aqable in the Hiiraan region late Friday night, killing seven forces of Evil and destroying two trucks loaded with weapons.

The agency, having closely monitored the movement of the vehicles and fighters, launched the strike after confirming credible intelligence on the hard boys’ location.

The operation took place as the convoy was returning from the Shaw area of Hiiraan toward Buq-Aqable.

The raid successfully neutralized the hard boys, seized weapons, and destroyed the vehicles at the site.

NISA also recorded video footage of the operation, which officials said will be released soon to the Somali public to showcase the significant blow dealt to al-Shabaab.

Three dead as ''cloudburst'' triggers urban flooding in Hyderabad
[GEO.TV] At least three people were killed and three others sustained injuries as torrential rains lashed Hyderabad and surrounding areas on Monday, causing urban flooding and widespread disruption.

Deputy Commissioner Zainul Abideen claimed that a sudden cloudburst triggered intense downpours for over 90 minutes across multiple areas including Latifabad, Qasimabad, and Tandojam, submerging streets and neighbourhoods under several feet of water.

Floodwater also entered homes and hospitals, straining emergency services. In Latifabad, water accumulation under the railway bridge cut off access between Hyderabad and Qasimabad.

Meanwhile, at least 350 electricity feeders tripped in the HESCO region, resulting in widespread power outages that hampered dewatering efforts.

The deputy commissioner further said that an alert had been issued and efforts were underway to operate pumping stations to drain water from submerged areas.

Islamabad court remands five foreigners for ''running'' illegal call centre
[GEO.TV] An Islamabad district and sessions court has granted two-day physical remand of five
…[English speaking]…
foreign nationals accused of operating an illegal call centre in the G-10 area of the capital.

The suspects were presented in court by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

According to the NCCIA, the call centre was raided recently and found to be hosting a fraudulent online network, allegedly run by the five foreign individuals. More than 60 Pak nationals were also employed at the site.

During the court proceedings, the prosecutor stated that the accused were part of an organised network involved in online scams through illegal websites. ''Further interrogation of the suspects is necessary,'' the prosecutor told the court while seeking their physical remand.

The court accepted the prosecution's plea and directed authorities to present the foreign nationals again on July 16.

The NCCIA spokesperson confirmed that the suspects were arrested during a raid in G-10 and that action would also be taken against those who provided them with support and security within Pakistain.

Soros-funded Aurora DA sets violent registered pedophile free after kidnapping 11-year-old, may be recalled
[X]

The New York Post follows up:
A Democratic prosecutor in Colorado "will be recalled’’ for moving to dismiss charges against a transgender sex offender accused of trying to kidnap a boy from a schoolyard, a local pol told The Post on Monday.

The district attorney’s office in Colorado’s 18th Judicial District told Fox31 that it is planning to drop the raps against Solomon Galligan, 33, after he allegedly attempted to snatch the 11-year-old during recess at Black Forest Hills Elementary School in Aurora in April 2024.

Galligan underwent a competency evaluation after his arrest and was found "mentally incompetent," the DA’s office said.

Prosecutors said they’re now "planning to drop charges against the defendant, which is required by law when they are found mentally incompetent to stand trial."

But Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky disputed that stance and told The Post an "effort" to "recall" Democratic DA Amy Padden "is well under way and will begin this week" — and ensured that it will be successful.

"The conduct of the 18th DA over the past six months is beyond deplorable. This is simply the icing on the cake," said Jurinsky, a Republican.

"The progressive attitude will not be tolerated," she said. "While certain state laws highlight deeper issues in the state of Colorado, Amy Padden will be recalled for her part in not upholding the laws and punishing criminals."

The suspected sex fiend’s older sister, Sarah Galligan, even told 9News in April 2024 that her brother has been in and out of jail for 12 years and that it’s not safe for community or himself to be out on the streets.

She said her sibling, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder when he was 16,
…there it is. Nuts, untreated, and no impulse control…
was deemed unfit to stand trial in previous instances and wasn’t institutionalized because of a shortage of beds in mental-health centers.

"It just really sucks he had to do something so eye-catching for everybody to see he’s not well, and he’s not OK to be out and be on his own," she said at the time.

Amanda Morris, Solomon’s niece, added, "This has been like the fourth time that we’re sitting here thinking, ’How the hell did he get released? Who’s letting him out?’ "

Solomon Galligan shared the news of his gender transition in a 2011 Facebook post and later identified as a woman. That same year he was placed on the sex-offender registry after he was convicted of non-consent sexual contact.

The Israeli army says its warplanes have attacked Gaza more than 100 times in the past 24 hours
[GEO.TV] The Israeli army says its warplanes have attacked Gaza more than 100 times in the past 24 hours, claiming “terrorist organisations” are the targets, reported Al Jazeera.

It added that ground advances are also continuing across the besieged enclave, especially in the north.

Israeli attacks kill more than 50 people across Gaza
[GEO.TV] Israeli attacks across Gaza have killed at least 51 Palestinians since dawn, Al Jazeera reported quoting medical sources.

Israel's war on Gaza has killed at least 58,030 people and wounded 138,520 since the beginning of war, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.

Three IDF troops killed, officer seriously wounded in northern Gaza fighting
[IsraelTimes] After initially suspecting tank was hit by Hamas RPG fire, army increasingly believes deadly blast was caused by a malfunctioning shell that detonated inside the turret

Three IDF troops were killed and an officer was seriously wounded during fighting in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, the military announced.

The slain troops were named as:

  • Staff Sgt. Shoham Menahem, 21, from Yardena

  • Sgt. Shlomo Yakir Shrem, 20, from Efrat

  • Sgt. Yuliy Faktor, 19, from Rishon Lezion

They all served with the 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion.

According to an initial IDF probe, the soldiers were in a tank that was hit by an explosion in northern Gaza’s Jabalia at around noon Monday. The IDF initially suspected the tank was hit by Hamas RPG fire. However, in the hours following the incident, the military increasingly came to believe the explosion may have been caused by a malfunctioning shell that detonated inside the turret. Other causes of the explosion were being investigated, the military said.

Their deaths raised the Israeli toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the Strip to 454 soldiers. The figure includes two police officers and three Defense Ministry civilian contractors.

The announcement of the soldiers’ deaths came shortly before two rockets were launched from the central Gaza Strip at southern Israel, which the military intercepted. Sirens did not sound in any towns, but alerts were activated in open areas near the Gaza border. There were no injuries.

In Gaza, meanwhile, footage circulated Monday on social media showing dozens of Palestinians lying on the ground as prolonged gunfire is heard around them.
That sure sounds like a classic Paliwood production to me, rather than something that actually happened as described. Especially since we know that Hamas has been killing those who dare take advantage of donated supplies that aren’t controlled — and sold at siege prices — by them.
Based on the location in the video, the incident appeared to have occurred near one of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s distribution centers, specifically in the Rafah area.

The IDF stated that “the details of the video are under review. At this stage, there are no known casualties from IDF fire at the distribution center in Rafah today.”
More from the Times of Israel:
A Hamas terrorist who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 onslaught and held hostage Emily Damari in his home was killed in an Israeli airstrike last month, the IDF announces.

Nasr Ali Quneita was targeted in Gaza City on June 19, according to the IDF.

Gaza’s Hamas-controlled civil defense agency said Israeli strikes on Monday killed at least 22 people, and the Islamic Jihad terror group shared footage that it said showed its fighters firing missiles at an Israeli command and control center in the Strip.

The fighting comes as five IDF divisions, made up of tens of thousands of troops, continue to operate across Gaza.

According to Israel, the IDF’s targets on Monday included operatives, buildings used by terror groups, weapon depots, tunnels, and other terror infrastructure.

The military said that in northern Gaza’s Beit Hanoun, troops of the Givati Brigade located and destroyed a tunnel, while forces of the 99th Division directed airstrikes on operatives who tried to plant bombs on a road.

In the nearby town of Jabalia, the IDF said troops of the 401st Armored Brigade and elite Multi-Domain unit killed several more operatives, including by directing strikes, and destroyed terror infrastructure.

In the Gaza City neighborhoods of Daraj and Tuffah, troops of the Nahal Brigade killed additional operatives, and the 98th Division operating in the neighborhoods of Zeitoun and Shejaiya directed strikes on operatives and destroyed buildings used by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the IDF added.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad terror group which has fought alongside Hamas in Gaza, released footage that it said showed its fighters firing missiles at an Israeli army command and control center near Shejaiya.

Gaza’s civil defense spokesman Mahmud Bassal said that 10 Palestinians were killed in three separate airstrikes in various parts of Gaza City on Monday, with 12 more people killed in attacks on the southern area of Khan Yunis.

The agency, which is governed by Hamas, does not distinguish between civilian and combatant casualties, and its figures are not independently verified.

AIRSTRIKE LAST WEEK KILLED 10 TERRORISTS RELEASED IN SHALIT DEAL
The IDF and Shin Bet announced Monday that an airstrike in Gaza last week killed 10 Hamas terrorists who had been among the 1,027 security inmates released from Israeli prisons in 2011 in exchange for abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

Most of those killed were members of Hamas’s so-called West Bank headquarters, a unit involved in recruiting terrorists and advancing attacks against Israel from or within the West Bank, the Shin Bet said.

Among those killed were Riyad Assila and Bassem Abu Sanina, who were accused of murdering Israeli civilian Haim Karman in a 1998 stabbing attack in Jerusalem.

Assila served as a member of Hamas’s West Bank headquarters, specifically involved in recruiting terrorists from East Jerusalem, the Shin Bet said.

Also killed in the strike was Mohammed Saria, who the Shin Bet said was charged with killing IDF soldier Staff Sgt. Ehud (Udi) Tal in a stabbing attack at the Dotan Civil Administration facility in the West Bank in 1996.

Seven more members of Hamas’s West Bank headquarters were killed in the strike. The Shin Bet said the seven were all convicted during the Second Intifada of involvement in deadly terror attacks and were given life sentences, before being exiled to Gaza in the Shalit deal.

After their exile, the Shin Bet said, the operatives held roles in the West Bank Headquarters, “within which they operated in regional committees responsible for advancing attacks in the Judea and Samaria areas, including by transferring weapons and funds to terrorists.”

"Gimme gimme gimmme free stuff!"

Why should we fight and die for a continent that won't defend itself against even an unarmed invasion?
At least with nuclear-armed Israel we get an ally that actually fights.
Contrast this to nuclear-armed France whose weapons will be in the hands of Muslims in another generation.

A hundred years ago you had large families because 1) high infant mortality and 2) the family was the social net for their elderly in their old age[see - honor thy mother and father]. Modern medicine took care of number 1. The state took over number 2. File under the unexpected consequences of trying to doing good.

The Climax Ahead? 'New' Offensive of the Russian Army
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] The Kremlin is allegedly planning a new offensive within the next two months, Western media write. What they say about this in Ukraine – read in the story.

Western publications have begun writing about a new offensive by the Russian army. The Kremlin is allegedly preparing a large-scale attack before the end of summer. This information appeared against the backdrop of increased enemy offensives in the Donetsk region and attempts to break through to the neighboring Dnipropetrovsk region.

At the same time, the Center for Countering Disinformation warns that such headlines in the media are Russian propaganda; why this is so, read the story.

WHAT JOURNALISTS WRITE AND WHO THEY REFER TO
Yesterday, the German newspaper BILD published an article stating that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is ignoring calls for peace by intensifying shelling of cities in all regions of Ukraine. Moreover, the Kremlin is preparing a new offensive before the end of the summer.

As journalists write, Putin allegedly takes advantage of the fact that in the fourth year of the war, interest in Ukraine in the world has diminished, so Ukrainians are subjected to constant shelling, day and night.

The publication also reports, citing one of the propaganda Telegram channels, that the commander-in-chief of the Russian army personally reported to Putin on readiness for a new phase of the war. He allegedly also presented a plan for an offensive "in the second half of the summer."

According to BILD, the offensive will allegedly spread not only to the occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, but also beyond their borders.

At the same time, Moscow is already seeking support for possible further waves of attacks. Thus, the article cites the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who "highly appreciated the heroic support of North Korean soldiers" during his visit to North Korea.

In particular, in order to free Russian troops from border service, it is planned to transfer their functions to the North Korean military. We are talking about 30 thousand soldiers, whose training was agreed upon by the Kim Jong-un regime.

Sources from Ukraine confirm in a comment to the publication: Putin is not interested in real negotiations, otherwise the conditions would be different.

Today, the American publication Axios continued this topic.

The media outlet, citing unnamed sources familiar with the conversation between Putin and US President Donald Trump, said the Russian dictator told the head of the White House that he intends to intensify military operations in eastern Ukraine over the next 60 days.

As stated in the article, during their conversation on July 3, Putin stated that Moscow intends to continue offensive operations until it secures full control over the administrative borders of the occupied Ukrainian regions.

"He wants to take everything," Trump reportedly told French President Emmanuel Macron afterward.

WARNING FROM THE CPD
The head of the National Security and Defense Council's Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, initially criticized BILD for its information about Russia's new offensive.

"'The Kremlin is planning a new offensive' - it is always hard to find more senseless material than in BILD. There is a complete lack of understanding of either the front or the events. They read telegrams, often Russian ones, and write articles that are quoted here. By the way, they say they received this information from the 'Russian General Staff'. Well, you get the idea," he wrote.

Later, Kovalenko added that Putin still plans to introduce new reserves to continue the meat assaults in the East. However, this should not be perceived as a new offensive.

According to him, Russian propaganda will try to present the continuation of the summer campaign as a new stage of the military operation.

"Because Putin set the task of capturing Ukrainian cities in the East back in 2024, but the Defense Forces thwarted these plans. All that Russia has done since then is introduce more and more new reserves. They have not come up with anything new now either. Changing the intensity of one offensive that has been going on for more than a year," Kovalenko explained.

EVALUATION OF THE RUSSIAN SUMMER CAMPAIGN
The President of Ukraine also stated the day before that the Russian army had significantly lagged behind its command’s expectations regarding the summer offensive.

During a meeting with the military command, Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the situation in key defense areas: Pokrovsk, Novopavlovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kharkiv and Sumy.

"We see the enemy's intentions and attempts to develop offensive actions, and it is important that each such attempt is choked thanks to the resilience of our units and active defense. The Russian army has significantly lagged behind the expectations of its command for this summer," the president wrote.

Zelensky also announced new strikes against the enemy, which will be "focused on destroying the occupier and transferring the war to Russian territory."

Nigeria jails 44 people for involvement in Boko Haram terrorism
[TRT.GLOBAL] Nigeria has placed in durance vile
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
44 people with terms of up to 30 years for funding terrorist activities, a front man for a counterterrorism agency said on Saturday.

The convicted were among 54 suspects arraigned in four specially-constituted civilian courts set up at a military base in the town of Kainji in central Niger state, Abu Michael, a front man for Nigeria's counterterrorism centre said in a statement. The trial of the remaining 10 cases was adjourned to a later date, he said.

On Wednesday, Nigeria resumed trials of the suspects seven years after it suspended prosecution of over 1,000 people suspected of ties with the Boko Haram

"The verdicts delivered from the trials resulted in prison sentences ranging from 10 to 30 years, all to be served with hard labour," Michael said.

"With the latest convictions, Nigeria has now secured a total of 785 cases involving terrorism financing and other terrorism-related offences," said the statement.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Atlanta got its MLB All-Star Game back. But controversial laws 'haven't changed'
[USAtoday] The 2021 All-Star Game was yanked after Georgia passed controversial voting laws. Why did MLB give it back?

ATLANTA — The All-Star Game is back on in Georgia. But the conditions that caused its removal in 2021 have not changed.

In fact, voting rights experts say, conditions have only worsened for potentially disenfranchised voters.
Stacey Abrams hardest hit. She was a big fat mouf pushing the removal of the ASG
The eyes of the baseball world will be on Truist Park in suburban Cobb County July 15, when Major League Baseball’s 95th All-Star Game is played, four years after the league moved the game in the wake of Georgia passing the Election Integrity Act. State Bill 202 rolled back voting by mail and other absentee ballot options and prohibited distribution of food and water to those standing in line to vote — actions that historically would have greatest impact on Black voters.

"I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft," commissioner Rob Manfred said then. "Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box."

Manfred’s action came three days after President Joe Biden said he’d support moving the game out of Atlanta. Given MLB’s actions to remove the term "diversity" from a careers page earlier this year in response to President Donald Trump’s executive order against such efforts, a charitable interpretation would suggest Manfred, as he’s stated, is most concerned with complying with federal law and the whims of the current chief executive.

Yet the game was returned to Atlanta in November 2023, two years after the Braves — who’d go on to win the 2021 World Series — and Georgia politicians blistered MLB’s decision, with Gov. Brian Kemp declaring that "cancel culture and woke political activists are coming for every aspect of your life, sports included."

Kemp struck a tone of appeasement when the game was returned, noting in a statement that "Georgia’s voting laws haven’t changed, but it’s good to see the MLB’s misguided understanding of them has."

In returning the game to Georgia, Manfred leaned into the host team’s chops, if you will, while striking an apolitical tone.

"I've said it before, we wanted to bring an All-Star Game back to Atlanta," Manfred said at the owners’ meetings in Arlington, Texas. "I made a decision in 2021 to move the event and I understand, believe me, that people had then and probably still have different views as to the merits of that decision.

"What's most important is that the Atlanta Braves are a great organization. Truist Park and The Battery are gems in terms of the facilities, and Atlanta and Georgia have been great markets for us for a very, very long time. Atlanta deserves an All-Star Game, and we're really looking forward to being there in 2025."

Government Corruption
'Disturbing pattern' of Secret Service 'failures' exposed in new report on Trump's Butler assassination attempt
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] One year after President Donald Trump
...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party...
narrowly missed getting struck by a bullet at a campaign rally, a damning new report faults the Secret Service for a 'disturbing pattern of communication failures and negligence that culminated in a preventable tragedy.'

Sen. Rand Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, on Sunday released the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee's final report from its investigation into the attempt on Trump's life in Butler, Pennsylvania.

It outlines what Paul called 'stunning failures by the United States Secret Service that allowed then-former President Donald J. Trump to be shot on July 13, 2024.

'The truth is, President Trump and the nation was fortunate,' Paul wrote of the shooting that took the life of firefighter Corey Comperatore and left two others maimed before a government sniper killed the gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. 'The once-again president survived despite being shot in the head.

'Since that day, there has been another attempt on his life and further threats to do him harm, including most recently, a renewed threat from Iran.'

Paul added that the actions of the Secret Service that day were 'inexcusable and the consequences imposed for the failures do not reflect the severity of the situation' despite six agents being temporarily suspended.

Yet the report offers few new details about the liquidation attempt and largely echoes a preliminary report on the investigation put forward by then-committee chairman Sen. Gary Peters in September 2024.

Instead, it focuses on 10 different instances leading up to the Butler rally in which the Secret Service denied or left unfulfilled requests for additional resources to support the Trump campaign, including an enhanced counter-drone system, counter-assault personnel and counter snipers.

Let's see all the numerous "oversights".

Shooter arrives carrying weapons to a Political gathering.

Attendees see the shooter.

Shooter climbs on the roof.

Police are informed and finally respond after something like 10+ minutes.

Police radio channel monitored by the SS Command is lit up about a possible Roof shooter.

Responding police sneak a peep of a ARMED person and leave for safety.

More minutes pass (30+ mins) and the shooter, is now setup on the roof aiming in the podium direction.

The shooter, a 20 y/o Liberal Democrat, then shoots, kills or wounds people including the very near miss on Trump.

ONLY after the shooter has done his deed, was the sniper finally taken out by the SS Counter Sniper team.

BTW: Did they ever explain the $$$k the 20 y/o had in OFF SHORE Funds?

OBTW: Then there are those serious Kool-Aid drinkers (LSD's) reaching for anything to shift blame and trying to sell this as a Trump staged shooting.

Supreme Court just ruled that President Trump can proceed with mass firings at the Department of Education

Supreme Court Allows Trump's Education Department to Resume Layoffs

The Supreme Court issued a 6-3 ruling on Monday allowing President Donald Trump’s Department of Education to resume efforts to slash its workforce in half.

The decision reverses a lower court ruling ordering the reinstatement of Department of Education employees cut loose in mass layoffs, and ultimately allows Education Secretary Linda McMahon to continue her mission of winding down the department.

The Department of Education announced in March that it was reducing its workforce by half in an effort to streamline the department and cut down on unnecessary bureaucracy.

Before the cuts, the Department of Education had 4,133 total staff, a number senior department officials said “exist[ed] largely to oversee contractors, add strings, and in many cases do duplicative efforts across the department.” Senior department officials said at the time the cuts would not impact student aid, the rollout of FAFSA by October 1, funding for special-needs students, Civil Rights investigations, and other functions statutorily mandated by Congress.

U.S. District Judge Myong Joun blocked the department’s downsizing effort in May, ruling that the administration needed congressional authorization. Joun ordered the department to reinstate approximately 1,400 workers who had been terminated.

The majority did not issue an opinion to accompany the order, which is not out of the ordinary. However, the court’s three liberal-leaning justices dissented, decrying the ruling as “indefensible.”

“It hands the Executive the power to repeal statutes by firing all those necessary to carry them out. The majority is either willfully blind to the implications of its ruling or naive, but either way the threat to our Constitution’s separation of powers is grave,” penned Justice Sonia Sotomayor, joined by Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Vostok Commander: Ukrainian Armed Forces ordered to destroy village in DPR — 1236th day of SVO
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] The village of Karl Marx and its residents were intended to be set on fire by Ukrainian militants during their retreat. This was reported to TASS on July 14 by the commander of the reconnaissance group of the Vostok group of forces, call sign Izi, citing radio intercepts. He explained that, having received the order to retreat from this settlement located in the west of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were supposed to attack civilian objects with FPV drones with incendiary ammunition. The new, 1236th day of the special operation (SVO) in Ukraine was marked by discussion of this news, among other things.

Nikolaevka and Karl Marx were liberated by Russian armed forces on July 13. The Ministry of Defense clarified that units of the "East" group of troops continue to move into the depths of the Ukrainian army's defense.

The transition of the settlement of Karl Marx under the control of the Russian Armed Forces indicates the successful advance of the army in the southern Donetsk direction, military expert Andrei Marochko told TASS. According to him, the Russian army is currently systematically reaching the administrative border of the DPR, and as soon as the fighters liberate such settlements as Iskra and Zelenyi Gai, the entire border in this area will come under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.

Video footage of how FPV drone crews of the Vostok group attacked an enemy UAV control point, and how BM-21 Grad crews covered Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the area of the settlement of Karl Marx, was published by the Ministry of Defense Telegram channel on July 14.

Japanese Salmon in a Russian River: How Kurosawa Rubbed Soldiers' Belts
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Vasily Avchenko

[REGNUM] In July 1975, Akira Kurosawa's Dersu Uzala premiered at the Moscow International Film Festival, soon winning an Oscar and a bunch of other awards. What is interesting about this Soviet-Japanese film, shot half a century ago, today?

Its literary basis is the books "Along the Ussuri Region" and "Dersu Uzala" by the Far East researcher, scientist, and writer Vladimir Arsenyev (1872-1930). In them, according to Gorky's formulation, he managed to unite Brehm and Fenimore Cooper.

HIS EXCELLENCY'S ADJUTANT IN THE USSURI TAIGA
The works describing the expeditions to Primorye and other events of 1902–1910 are linked by a common hero, the Gold (Nanai) Dersu Uzala. His prototype is the Ussuri taiga hunter Derchu Odzhal, who lost his family due to a smallpox epidemic.

In 1906 and 1907 he was a guide for Arsenyev's detachment. A year later, Derchu was killed near Khabarovsk, at Korfovskaya station.

Akira Kurosawa knew and loved Russian classics. He made The Idiot based on Dostoevsky and The Lower Depths based on Gorky, used motifs from Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich in To Live, and thought about adapting Taras Bulba and Notes from the House of the Dead.

Kurosawa became interested in Arsenyev's works back in the late 1940s and even looked for locations on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. However, he later said: "In Hokkaido, such a film... could not have been made. The scale of nature there is different, not like the Ussuri taiga. A person like Dersu Uzala could not have lived there."

In the early 1970s, the Japanese classic was going through a crisis. His film "Under the Knock of Tram Wheels" was a flop, the director was thinking about suicide... And suddenly - as a sign of warming between Japan and the USSR and a life preserver - an invitation to Mosfilm.

The script was written by Kurosawa himself and writer Yuri Nagibin. The director approved Yuri Solomin for the role of Arsenyev, having highly praised the actor's work in Yevgeny Tashkov's "Adjutant of His Excellency".

It was more difficult with the lead actor. If in the Soviet film by Agassi Babayan "Dersu Uzala" (1961) the "foreigner" was played by the actor from Kazakhstan Kasym Zhakibayev, then Kurosawa initially saw his "talisman" Toshiro Mifune in this role.

Among others, they tried out Dersu and the Nanai Kola Beldy, who sang on stage on behalf of all the northern peoples at once (“I’ll take you to the tundra,” “And the deer are better,” “The Chukchi in the tent,” etc.).

In the end, however, Arsenyev’s companion was played by Tuvan actor Maxim Munzuk.

PAINTED BOARS AND GILDED LEAVES
The filming took place in Primorye, the expedition was based in the city of Arsenyev. Not only people were involved, but also animals - tiger Artyom, bear Rita, red deer Katya. Wild boars were played by black-painted state farm boars.

Translating Arsenyev’s semi-documentary prose, a hybrid of “Western” and scientific report, into the language of cinema is not easy: lengthy descriptions of landscapes, a mass of Latin terms… Kurosawa, who was maniacally demanding of every frame, insisted that the straps on Dersu’s knapsack be made of rawhide, and that the actors’ moustaches and beards be real.

He personally aged soldiers’ belts with sandpaper, straightened stones in a stream, and tinted leaves to prolong the golden autumn… In his memoirs, Kurosawa called these filmings in the USSR “the spawning of Japanese salmon in a Russian river.”

The Eastern-style meditative philosophical film almost turned into a scandal.

Relations between China and the USSR in those years, after the 1969 battles on Damansky Island, left much to be desired. Beijing perceived the film adaptation by Arsenyev (who was indeed a real hawk in matters concerning Russia's national interests) as an element of an "anti-Chinese international conspiracy."

The Chinese media wrote: this is propaganda of "expansionist policy" by "the renegade clique of Soviet revisionists." In particular, criticism was raised about the scene where an old Chinese man bows to Arsenyev: "This was done on strict orders from the leaders of the Soviet revisionist empire, who want modern China to bow to the USSR in the same way."

The head of the KGB, Yuri Andropov, even reported to the Central Committee of the CPSU that the case could turn into a “rather burning political problem”…

Kurosawa, however, wisely noted: “I… am against including politics in this film.”

THE ENCHANTED WANDERER
Today, hardly anyone would see a political subtext in it. But in Arsenyev's books and Kurosawa's film, something else remains - the main and timeless: man, his place in the world, responsibility for everything that happens on the planet.

Arsenyev called Dersu a "primitive communist", alien to the "vices that... urban civilization brings". His Dersu is a person living in harmony with himself and the world, critical of technical progress in the absence of moral progress. He is a bearer of ecological consciousness and tolerance (in the highest sense of the word), a stalker-guide not only to the "temple of the taiga", but also to the hidden dimensions of another, subtle world.

No less important is Arsenyev himself, the author and hero, an enchanted wanderer, a city dweller who became a taiga dweller. This metropolitan native settled forever in a distant Far Eastern province, making his own personal "turn to the East." The infantry officer became a scientist of the broadest profile, a defender of indigenous peoples and nature.

His books, written at the same time as Oswald Spengler's The Decline of the West, contain not only descriptions of the taiga, rivers and mountains of the Ussuri region, but also criticism of modern civilization.

Finally, Arsenyev is a consistent patriot who at all times (including dark and troubled ones) defended the interests of his Fatherland, no matter what it was called at one or another historical moment.

Soon we will be able to see Dmitry Kiselev's series "Arsenyev". The main role is played by Yevgeny Mironov, Dersu is played by Kazakh actor Ondasyn Besikbasov.

The journey through the wilds of the Ussuri region, which began more than a century ago, continues.

Aussie's terrifying world record 'death dive' attempt from 42metre cliff goes horribly wrong leaving him with critical injuries
Darwin always wins.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] An adrenaline junkie fractured his skull and needed two major surgeries after he attempted a world-record 'death dive' from an Australian waterfall.

Vali Graham, 21, suffered horrific injuries after he leapt from the top of Minnehaha Falls, a 42.5metre cliff, in the NSW Blue Mountains on June 11. He has undergone multiple operations and weeks of rehabilitation after the dive.

Footage of the death-defying stunt showed Mr Graham gearing himself up at the top of the waterfall on a rock ledge before he jumped off and performed an acrobatic twist in the air on the way down.

Climatologist warns of warming summers in Russia within 50 years
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] In the next 50 years, summer in Russia will warm up by an average of two to three degrees. This was reported by Alexey Kokorin, an expert on climate issues at the Nature and People Foundation.

“If we compare the trends that have been in the past few decades, taking as a basis the forecasts of the Main Geophysical Observatory for the next decades, then our summers should become warmer, two to three degrees over the next 50 years are guaranteed,” the expert noted in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
"Or not."
Kokorin added that over the past 50 years, the average temperature in Russia has also risen by 2-3 degrees.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 12, a 122-year-old temperature record was broken in Moscow. As reported by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand, the air warmed up to +36.4 degrees. He also specified that a decrease in temperature indicators is expected from July 13.

Moreover, in the afternoon of July 12, Moscow was hit by heavy rain with thunderstorms, hail and strong gusts of wind.
