[Breitbart] The Tempe Police Department said it joined with Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the attorney general’s office, and police in Phoenix, Mesa, and Scottsdale for “Operation Behind the Mask,” Fox 10 reported Tuesday.
The effort was an undercover operation surrounding child sex crimes and human trafficking.
“Throughout the operational period, undercover detectives placed ads on websites commonly sought out by suspects seeking illegal sex acts,” police explained Tuesday. “The suspects reportedly solicited and/or brokered deals for various sex acts and were subsequently arrested.”
According to ABC 15, the suspects’ ages ranged between 20 and 64 and were arrested on multiple charges including child sex trafficking, luring, and attempted sex conduct with a minor.
“Other charges included money laundering and drug possession,” the outlet said.
Tempe Police shared photos of the suspects in a social media post Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a recent human trafficking operation in Missouri and Kansas resulted in 82 people being arrested, Breitbart News reported.
Presented as a First World problem, but really it’s just a different version of the courthouse burning down... at the same time as your house. Or a war — a little local war would accomplish the same thing.
[BBC] For years, we were encouraged to store our data online. But it's become increasingly clear that this won't last forever – and now the race is on to stop our memories being deleted.
How would you adjust your efforts to preserve digital data that belongs to you – emails, text messages, photos and documents – if you knew it would soon get wiped in a series of devastating electrical storms?
That’s the future catastrophe imagined by Susan Donovan, a high school teacher and science fiction writer based in New York. In her self-published story New York Hypogeographies, she describes a future in which vast amounts of data get deleted thanks to electrical disturbances in the year 2250.
In the years afterwards, archaeologists comb through ruined city apartments looking for artefacts from the past – the early 2000s.
“I was thinking about, ‘How would it change people going through an event where all of your digital stuff is just gone?’” she says.
In her story, the catastrophic data loss is not a world-ending event. But it is a hugely disruptive one. And it prompts a change in how people preserve important data. The storms bring a renaissance of printing, Donovan writes. But people are also left wondering how to store things that can’t be printed – augmented reality games, for instance.

Diseases break out in China all the time, even without outside help. The peasants live with their pigs and ducks, the pollution levels across the country are obscene — Mr. Wife’s asthma was one reason we were glad the Guangzhou assignment fell through in 1996 (the other was that we’d only just moved back from Europe, with temporary housing at both resulting in four home addresses in that year, and the trailing daughters needed some stability before the next move) — and the Chinese dreadfully overcrowd both their animals and their people, leading to diseases rushing through both populations.

I guess too much is being revealed or reviled in the Maricopa County 2020 election audit. There needs to be a little distraction. Probably going to be a mass shooting somewhere or something like that.

at this point the vaccination rate is about 50% in LA county and the non-vaccination rate is probably about 20%
that ought to keep the new infections down to below 1000/day the the fatalities to under 10/day
LA county has a population of over 10M

How long before the income decline for the team owners at the stadiums, along with significant ad revenue losses as the viewership shrinks by half finally makes a dent? When you insult your core audience demographic (patriotic, heterosexual, white men) repeatedly what do you expect?
[American Thinker] A friend in South Africa has been keeping me updated about what’s going on there. According to him, it was "a well-planned attempt at provoking a civil uprising." What’s extraordinary, though, is that, wherever armed, law-abiding citizens have been able to make a stand against the violence and anarchy, the rioters are backing down. My friend forwarded to me a round-robin letter ("the Letter") that South Africans are sharing -- and that reflects his experiences. I’ve included excerpts from the Letter in the body of this post, but you can read the whole Letter here.
The ostensible reason for the South African riots is the fact that Jacob Zuma, a former president, was finally arrested on corruption charges. However, according to the Letter, "nobody that I personally know, cares about freeing an ex-president from jail, under whose watch the country turned into a garbage dump."
The looting is comparable to what happened in American cities last year although on a much larger scale:
Skipping down a bit.
However, some regions of South Africa are completely untouched. That’s because armed citizens -- armed with guns and anything else they could find -- have drawn a line that the looters have not even tried to cross:
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Police arrested Congressional Black Caucus chair Joyce Beatty on Thursday afternoon after she led pro-voting rights protesters into a Senate office building.
Officers moved in as Beatty, 71, and a handful of other activists, including Women's March co-founders Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory, chanted, 'Fight for justice,' and, 'End the filibuster.'
Capitol Police later said they had arrested nine people for 'demonstrating in a prohibited area on Capitol Grounds.'

Demonstrations over food shortages and rising prices have rocked the island
The group also praised Cuba for harboring Assata Shakur, a convicted cop killer and former Black Panther who has been hiding on the island for nearly 40 years
Shakur, a former member of the Black Liberation Army, was convicted of being an accomplice to the murder of State Trooper Werner Foerster in 1973.
At the time, she was also wanted for several felonies, including bank robber counts in New York and was known for her membership of the Black Panthers.
Shakur was with two other people when they were pulled over on the New Jersey Turnpike. The three opened fire on the troopers.
Passenger James Coston was shot and killed by Officer James Harper. The shootout continued until Shakur, having shot and killed Foerster execution-style fled the scene with the surviving passenger, who remains in prison.
Both were apprehended by police shortly thereafter.
Shakur denied having shot anyone, but was sentenced to life in prison. She escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility for Women in 1979. She resurfaced in Cuba where she was granted asylum by Fidel Castro and where she has lived ever since.
Considered an armed and dangerous domestic terrorist, she is still wanted by the FBI and there is a $2million reward for her capture.

[OneIndia] The security forces bumped off two bully boyz of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba in an encounter at the Danmar area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... . During the encounter two personnel of the CRPF sustained injuries and they have been shifted to hospital.
A joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF joined a cordon and search operation in the Alameda Colony of Danmar following a tip off.
*Ring ring* “Mukkerjee the Weasel here. Listen carefully — I will say this only once.”
The area was then cordoned off by security forces.
This operation comes in the backdrop of another encounter that took place on Wednesday in which three bad boyz were potted in Pulwama. While two of those died were locals, the third was Abu Huraira, a commander of Pakistain origin.
With these encounters, the number of bully boyz bumped off in the Valley this year has gone up to 78. [Breitbart] Human smuggling stash house raids in the Rio Grande Valley Sector led to the arrests of 53 migrants being warehoused for transportation into the U.S. interior. The raids took place in three stash houses operated in two different counties near the Texas border with Mexico.
Rio Grande Sector Border Patrol agents teamed up with Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and Starr County Sheriff’s Office deputies on July 13 to carry out raids on two human smuggling stash houses on July 13, according to information obtained from Border Patrol officials. Acting on information received by law enforcement sources, the team went to a Starr County, Texas, residence and found 14 migrants who entered the U.S. illegally.
Agents conducted immigration interviews and welfare checks on the 14 migrants and identified them as citizens of El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico, officials stated. The agents transported the entire group to the Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station for processing.
Later that day, McAllen Station agents received information about another stash house near Pharr, Texas. The source said the house was being used to harbor smuggled migrants.
The agents identified three female migrants being held in the stash house. They were all illegally present in the U.S. The agents transported the women to the McAllen Station for processing. Agents did not find a smuggler at the residence.
The following morning, a Border Patrol agent assigned to the Rio Grande City Station observed a group of migrants running from the brush into a garage of a residence near Roma, Texas, officials stated. The agent called for assistance from DPS troopers and Starr County deputies to investigate the suspected stash house operation.
The team entered the garage and found 36 migrants inside. Officials did not disclose the nationality or demographics of the group. They transported the migrants to the Rio Grande City Station for processing.
[AlAhram] Pakistain says an initial investigation into a deadly bus crash the previous day in the country's northwest found `traces of explosives' at the site, raising the possibility the incident was a terror attack
Pakistain on Thursday said an initial investigation into a deadly bus crash the previous day in the country's northwest found ``traces of explosives`` at the site, raising the possibility the incident was a terror attack.
A bus carrying dozens of construction workers fell into a ravine Wednesday in the district of Kohistan ...a backwoods district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distinguished by being even more rustic than is the norm among the local Pashtuns.... in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province after what authorities said was a gas leak in the vehicle that caused a kaboom. At least 13 people, including nine Chinese, were killed and at least 36 people were maimed.
Chinese Embassy in Islamabad promptly said the bus was attacked, without elaborating.
No group has so far grabbed credit for the deadly incident.
After the explosives find, Pak Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said ``terrorism cannot be ruled out.``
Prime Minister Imran Khan ...aka The Great Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality disorders... was ``personally supervising all developments in this regard,`` Chaudhry said, adding that Islamabad was in contact with the Chinese Embassy. He provided no further details.
Chinese engineers and construction workers are helping Pakistain build a dam in Kohistan. The bus with the workers was en route to the construction project when the earth-shattering kaboom happened and the bus careened, plunging into a ravine.
Road accidents are common in Pakistain, where motorists largely disregard traffic rules and safety standards and drive on damaged roads, particularly in the mountainous terrain in the north.
I guess it was directly responding to Muslim migrants colonists after all.
[AlAhram] At a joint news conference in Baghdad with his Lithuanian counterpart Gabrielius Landsbergis, Hussein said his government will launch a probe into 'the plan to smuggle Iraqis into Europe'.
[AlAhram] Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein vowed Thursday to investigate the alleged smuggling of Iraqi migrants colonists into EU member Lithuania via Belarus.
At a joint news conference in Baghdad with his Lithuanian counterpart Gabrielius Landsbergis, Hussein said his government will launch a probe into "the plan to smuggle Iraqis into Europe".
"We will not accept smugglers in our society," he said. "It's our duty to protect our citizens, whether they be inside or outside the country."
Belarusian opposition media charge that the influx of migrants colonists, a hot button issue for European governments, is a retaliatory move by autocrat Alexander Lukashenko following EU sanctions against his regime.
During a visit to a Lithuanian border town of Medininkai earlier this month, EU Council President Charles Michel said "there is the suspicion indeed that there is a role played by the Belarusian regime".
Last week, Lithuania announced it will build a border wall with Belarus to stem the flow of migrants colonists from Africa and the Middle East arriving from the ex-Soviet country.
So far this year, Lithuanian border guards have detained more than 1,500 migrants colonists arriving from Belarus, compared with 81 for all of 2020.
"Our neighbour is falsely using Iraqi people to pressure my country and the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... ... We feel Iraqis are being promised an easy trip to Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... and they end up in the forest," Landsbergis said.
"They were lied to (by people smugglers) and spent a lot of money... There's a mutual need to stop this network of illegal migration," he added.
A nation of 2.8 million, Lithuania is struggling to cope with the unprecedented spike, as its military expands tent camps.
Tensions between Minsk and Vilnius soared last year after Lithuania became a hub for the Belarusian opposition, following a disputed presidential election.
Two powerless politicians playing at being important, or is this actually meaningful?
[KhaamaPress] Pakistain’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said Prime Minister Imran Khan ...aka The Great Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality disorders... has invited former President Hamid Maybe I'll join the TalibanKarzai ...One of the more egregious mistakes of the post 9-11 era... in a telephone conversation carried out between them.
Pakistain tends to organize a special conference on Afghanistan, the official wrote in a tweet.
Chaudhry though did not give more information about the conference, added that apart from Hamid Karzai other Afghan leaders were too invited.
Pak media reported that the conference will be held from July 17 to 19 for which the Afghan invitees have given the green signals.
Afghanistan’s special envoy to Pakistain who is one of the invitees has told VOA the date of the conference is still being debated.
Omar Zakhilwal, Salahuddin Rabbani, Ahmad Wali Massoud, Gulbadin Hekmatyar, and Muhammad Muhaqiq are among the people invited to the conference.
The Afghan government has not commented on the conference yet.
The invitation comes two days before an Afghan delegation including Hamid Karzai and Gulbadin Hekmatyar is due to visit the Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... i capital Doha to revive intra-afghan talks and asked the parties for a truce.
The Afghan team led by Abdullah Abdullah ...the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against both Karzai and Ghani. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun. He also held the meaningless salaried sop position as CEO of Afghanistan, while Ghani was president... is due to meet with President Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money... on their authorities before they leave Kabul for Doha.
"Now I am assembling a commission on emergency situations. In the Verkhnebureinsky region on July 14-15, 60-130 mm of precipitation fell (80% of the monthly norm).
On the Bureya river near the village of Ust-Niman, on July 17, a water level of 1000-1050 cm is expected (with a level of adverse events of 850 cm). The floodplain is flooded to a depth of 3 meters. Roads, crops, the village of Ust-Urgal were under water," the head of the region wrote.
As reported by IA REGNUM , a powerful cyclone is approaching the Khabarovsk Territory, after the heat, heavy rains and thunderstorms.

Saw a clip of Biden and Merkel sitting across from each other. I was watching her facial expressions closely. She, just like Putin, had this somewhat incredulous look on her face that she was trying to hide as Biden talked slowly to make sure his speaking was not slurred. I think both Putin and Merkel were laughing inside that corruption in this once great nation finally succeeded in getting such a sick man in as POTUS.

[NY Post] It’s well after midnight on a Saturday morning, but traffic is as thick as rush hour along a four-block industrial stretch in East New York, Brooklyn.
Scantily clad women walk mid-block, their heels click-clacking on the asphalt as they move from car to car, leaning into driver’s side windows to entice the next man in line.
One woman on the sidelines, appearing disinterested, sips from a can of Red Bull through a straw.
It’s a rare break in a cycle that repeats for hours on end: Hopping into strangers’ cars, riding out of view for 10, sometimes 30 minutes, then getting dropped back off to do it all again.
This open-air sex market has operated in plain sight on Friday and Saturday nights for months. The women, many likely trafficking victims, stop drivers who line up for their services. Their pimps pull the strings from the shadows.

[The Last Refuge] Hey Antifa, here is the fascism you have been looking for.
Imagine the apoplexy in media if President Trump’s White House was flagging content on Facebook for removal. That’s exactly what White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted today: "We are flagging problematic posts for Facebook"...
Yup, the Biden regime is monitoring social media from the White House and identifying content they do not like. Then, they flag that content and send it to Facebook, who then take action to remove it. WATCH:
On the upside — this is a direct admission the U.S. government is the determining voice on speech. That admission now makes this a FIRST AMENDMENT issue.
Previously the Democrats, leftists, media allies and the Biden administration all said Big Tech censorship, the banning of conservative voices/opinions, was a matter of private businesses making decisions on their own without government influence and therefore no ’First Amendment’ issues are in place. This admission from the White House today is exactly the opposite. Let the lawsuits commence.

This doesn't matter. Haven't you gotten it through your head yet? Critical Theory rejects liberalism, rejects the idea we're all equal. Instead there are two kinds of people: oppressors and the oppressed, and obviously the oppressed are justified in using the most extreme measures to destroy oppressors.
“The defining question is whether the discrimination is creating equity or inequity. If discrimination is creating equity, then it is antiracist. If discrimination is creating inequity, then it is racist. … The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.” From How to Be an Antiracist, by Ibram X. Kendi (pseud. for Henry Rodgers), p. 19.

Wonder who got the contract for that piece of open source surveillance? Perhaps it was 'in-house' embedded gov't sources, or the people just down the hall from the office monitoring Tucker Carlson's email.
[The Last Refuge] Arizona GOP Chairwoman Kelli Ward provides an update tonight by recapping the Arizona Senate hearing today that exposed stunning election malfeasance in the Maricopa County ballot audit. There is much more yet to come from the forensic audit finding, but the results so far show a significant collapse in voter integrity in the largest county vote.
As Ms. Ward notes "this matter is far from over"..... There will be much more to come. Video Below:
The unmatched duplicated ballots (lacking a serial number) points to a similar issue discovered in Fulton County, Georgia, with double counted ballots. The fact that the total number of ballots counted does not match the certified Maricopa County election results is again another big red flag.
The 70,000 mail-in ballots received that surpass the number of mail-in ballots mailed, points to someone photocopying ballots on regular paper stock. That would also explain the lack of chain-of-custody documents for both the paper-stock and the scanned ballots. Adding to the photocopied ballot likelihood is that some ballots showed ink bleed-through on the paper from one side to the other.
There are many issues identified, and we haven’t yet got to the "ballot mule" process. Biden did not win the election, it’s all starting to come out.
[NPASYRIA] On Wednesday, the French newspaper Libération revealed a secret memo that showed that Gay Paree was aware of the agreement between the Lafarge cement company and ISIS between 2013 and 2014.
Libération said that a secret memo belonging to French intelligence, issued in August 2014, showed that Lafarge had concluded an agreement with ISIS to continue its activities in Syria.
Libération added that the memo included a permit from ISIS granting the company permission to continue its commercial activities and access to areas controlled by ISIS.
The memo indicated that there was an agreement with ISIS granting this permission, and that it was granted in return for a certain fee.
At the time of the agreement, Lafarge still controlled the cement plant located in the Jalabiya area in northern Syria.
Libération stressed that ISIS took control of the plant in September of 2014, and pointed out that the memo was referred to the magistrates who are investigating the lawsuits brought against the Lafarge company, regarding its finance of ISIS.
The Gay Paree Court of Appeal is expected to deliver Lafarge the final charges related to the investigations of financing terrorism, violating the embargo, and endangering the lives of workers.
Lafarge is accused of paying 13 million euros to jihadist groups, including ISIS, between 2013 and 2014, to ensure the continuation of work at its site in Syria.
In November 2019, the French judiciary dropped the charge of complicity in crimes against humanity in Syria that had been brought against the company in June 2018.

[The Hill, via Ace] - Major League Baseball's All-Star Game was once "appointment viewing" in this country. In 1980, more than 36 million people tuned in. In 2015, in the age of interleague play, a still-respectable 11 million watched the American and National Leagues battle it out.
But for Tuesday night's game, the Nielsen numbers were profoundly horrible: 8.24 million people tuned in, making it the second-least-watched All-Star Game in history. This number is stunning when considering what was billed as one of the most compelling lineups in years, one that included Los Angeles Angels' Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani, who was the first player in All-Star Game history to be a starting pitcher and bat lead-off, and the game's first two-way starter dating back to 1933. So even with a hotshot phenom player, they had trouble drawing flies. I barely watched it myself; when you'd rather watch reruns of Law and Order, that should tell the suits something. However, the current MLB commissioner, Rob Manfred, seem as woke and inept as his NBA counterpart, Adam 'Jug Ears' Silver, whose professional background is a lawyer. And this is coming from someone who's disliked baseball for a while but has been watching more Red Sox games in recent months, probably because a) nothing else is on and / or b) they don't suck like they did last year.

[IsraelTimes] Shin Bet says incident in late May was ’planned over a period of several days,’ unlike ethnic violence that erupted simultaneously with Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... fighting.
Security officials on Thursday revealed that eight Arab Israeli residents of the central city of Lod have been arrested for throwing Molotov cocktails at two Jewish homes in late May.
The eight suspects, aged between 15 and 22, allegedly hurled five Molotov cocktails on May 28 at an apartment building in Lod where Jews live. The resulting flames damaged two apartments, though no occupants were maimed in the attack.
A Shin Bet official said the attack was "different in character from other attacks during the festivities in May — it wasn’t carried out spontaneously in the heat of the moment but was planned over a period of several days."
The suspects are slated to be indicted in the coming days, police said.
The attack occurred a week after a ceasefire took effect following 11 days of fighting between Israel and Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, in Gaza. During the conflict, heavy festivities between Jews and Arabs broke out across the country, with several cities descending into mayhem and police failing to contain the most serious internal unrest to grip the country in years.
Lod saw some of the worst ethnic violence, with a Jewish and an Arab man killed in separate incidents during the unrest.
Though not unprecedented, the internecine violence was some of the worst in Israel’s history, bringing to the surface long-simmering conflicts between Arab and Jewish Israelis.
[AlAhram] The military provided no further details and only said hostile intelligence forces were behind the violence.
A powerful roadside kaboom targeting security forces killed two soldiers in southwest Pakistain, the military said Thursday, a sign of increasing violence in the region.
The overnight attack happened in Pasni, a district in the impoverished Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... province, according to a military statement. It said a search operation was still underway to arrest those who orchestrated the bombing.
It provided no further details and only said hostile intelligence forces were behind the violence.
No group immediately grabbed credit, but previous such attacks on security forces have been blamed on small separatist groups that have been carrying out a long-running insurgency demanding independence from the central government in Islamabad.
The Pak Taliban ...Arabic for students... and the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group also have a presence in Balochistan.
Although Pakistain says it has quelled insurgency in Balochistan, such attacks on troops have increased in recent months in the province which shares a long border with Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. [NPASYRIA] The United States of America will continue its missions to fight the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria, even after its forces are attacked by militias with objectives similar to those of ISIS, said Col. Wayne Marotto, the official military Spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), on Thursday.
"The US continues its presence on Iraqi territory at the invitation of the Iraqi leadership to carry out the mission of fighting ISIS," Marotto told North Press.
He added that the US does not have any goals from its presence in Iraq other than fighting ISIS, "but some militias outside the authority of the state, who have goals similar to ISIS, target the American forces and interests because they want to destabilize and aggravate the security, economic and humanitarian conditions in Iraq.
The "militias" want to see Iraqis in anger and despair so that their murderous Moslem ideology can fill the void created by the poverty and weakness of the Iraqi state illusory sovereignty, according to the OIR front man.
Marotto believed that the US and the Global Coalition forces had the right to defend their presence on Iraqi territory.
"While we focus on fighting ISIS and supporting the Iraqi armed forces, our forces are under attack," he noted.
On the Syrian side, Marotto said that the coalition will continue to support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to fight ISIS, "with capabilities that change according to the data on the ground."
He noted to the continuation of this so that the SDF will be able to achieve major achievements against the murderous Moslem organization and its sleeper cells, which are still deploying and active individually in eastern Syria.
Over the past seven years, "the Global Coalition forces have been able to launch successful operations against gunnies in Iraq and have been able to restrict ISIS’ fundraising and recruiting capabilities, and the US will continue this mission to ensure that ISIS does not return to its activities."

The decision included raising the necessary proposals to remove the difficulties facing their return to invest in Syria.

[UPI] As many as two of every five Americans who've died from COVID-19 were suffering from diabetes, making the chronic disease one of the highest-risk conditions during the pandemic, an expert says.
About 40% of deaths from COVID-19 in the United States were among diabetics, a "really quite sobering" statistic that should prompt people with the ailment to get vaccinated, said Dr. Robert Gabbay, chief scientific and medical officer for the American Diabetes Association.
"I can't say this strongly enough -- if you have diabetes, get vaccinated. Speak to your health care provider, discuss your concerns," Gabbay said during a HealthDay Now interview.
"With the risk of hospitalization and death related to COVID-19 six to 12 times higher in people with diabetes, it's time to get vaccinated," Gabbay said. Does the vaccine cure diabetes?

From that CDC cormobidity data, as of 09/05/20 -
1 All other conditions and causes (Includes more than 23 codes)
2 Influenza and pneumonia
3 Respiratory failure
4 Hypertensive diseases
5 Diabetes
6 Adult respiratory distress syndrome
7 Cardiac arrest
8 Vascular and unspecified dementia
9 Ischemic heart disease
10 Sepsis
At that time, Diabetes was a cormorbidity in just 5.78% of the deaths, so 2/5 is a big jump.

[MAIL] The FBI tried to flip a high-ranking Saudi official suspected of assisting 9/11 hijackers by confronting him with child porn on his computer - despite telling the public the Saudi government wasn't involved in the terrorist attacks, a new report claims. Porn and debauchery utilized as an FBI elicitation technique? Who knew ?
In a deposition last month, obtained by Yahoo News, Mussaed al-Jarrah
...who does not appear to be in the Rantburg archives, at least not under that spelling of his name...
said FBI agents approached and questioned him at least three times as part of its probe into the Saudi Arabian government's possible involvement.
Al-Jarrah worked in the Ministry of Islamic Affairs at the Saudi Embassy in Washington, DC, in the late 1990s and early 2000s and is suspected of providing money, lodging and other help to two of the hijackers when they landed on US soil.
His claims were made under oath during closed-door questioning on June 17 and 18 as part of a lawsuit brought by the families of 9/11 victims accusing the Saudi government of being complicit in the attacks.
The claims raise new questions about the FBI's investigation, as the US has long insisted to the public that there is no evidence the Saudi government was involved in the murders of 2,977 people on September 11, 2001.

[REGNUM] The first data on the decoding of the An-26 flight recorder appeared, which crashed on July 6 near Palana with 22 passengers and six crew members on board.
According to Ren TV, the aircraft, when approaching, dropped to 800 meters and deviated from the airfield to the north by 5 km. The dispatcher indicated to the crew that the aircraft was flying 30 degrees to the left, at a dangerous altitude and at high speed.
"Experts believe that the crew was completely disoriented, not accepting information from the dispatcher about the bearing," the newspaper writes.
After the plane descended to 600 meters, at about 14:48 local time, the pilot was put on a course of 140 degrees. The movement continued along this course until the collision. When descending to an altitude of 600 meters, the crew stopped communicating with the dispatcher.
The preliminary cause of the An-26 plane crash near Palana was crew error.
As reported by IA REGNUM , relatives will be able to pick up the bodies of those killed in the An-26 plane crash near Palana only after a genetic examination and identification of personalities.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation applied to the genetic laboratory of the Russian Center for Forensic Medicine in Moscow with a request to conduct an examination as soon as possible.

The meeting came after Iraq’s National Security Agency chief, Abdel Ghani al-Asadi, met Wednesday in Baghdad with Iran’s Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi.

"We are standing by our commitments and we hope that the Taliban also respects their commitments," he said.
Local sources said that several parts of the city have seen damage due to the festivities between the security forces and the Taliban.

In the 5 months since the Obamiden cabal seized power, inflation (.4% + .6% + .8% + .8% + .9% monthly Feb-June) has risen 3.5% or 8.7% annualized. But inflation is accelerating and in the last 3 month has risen 2.5% or 10.5% annualized.

[LIBYAREVIEW] Libyan Attorney General, al-Siddiq al-Sour ordered the arrest of the Head of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), Noman al-Sheikh, and the commission’s agent, Amr Qadqud following corruption charges, according to sources close to the NACC.
The arrest of al-Sheikh took place after he held a meeting with the Head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khalid al-Mishri in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... , to bypass the Libyan Parliament and approve the state budget.

Al-Sheikh recently travelled to Tobruk and met with the Speaker of the Parliament, Ageela Saleh in search of support. As soon as the news of the meeting was announced, Saleh received a letter outlining the accusations against al-Sheikh. In turn, Saleg transferred the report to the Attorney General in April.
Al-Sheikh is also accused of personal profiteering through the NACC, this includes checks and transactions from the commission’s account to his personal account and the accounts of his family members, with some exceeding 200,000 Libyan dinars.

[TASS] Two BK-16-class amphibious assault boats built at the Rybinsk Shipyard entered the Russian Baltic Fleet’s service, its press office reported on Thursday.
"An official ceremony was held in the town of Primorsk in the Baltiysk Urban District of the Kaliningrad Region, where the boats will be based, to raise the Russian naval flag aboard these vessels," the press office said in a statement.
The amphibious assault boats were built at the Rybinsk Shipyard specially for the Baltic Fleet and delivered under the program of the Fleet’s planned rearmament, it added.
During the official ceremony that was attended by representatives of the Baltic Fleet’s command and personnel, Deputy Chief of the Russian Navy Main Staff Rear Admiral Oleg Alishev (PDF) handed the St. Andrew’s Russian naval flags to the boats’ commanders. The flags were hoisted aboard the new combat vessels to the accompaniment of the national anthem. By order of the Russian Navy chief, the new amphibious assault boats were included in the Baltic Fleet’s combat inventory.
This event was preceded by the successful shipbuilders’ sea and state trials of the new combat boats, in which all their systems and armaments were checked at sea, the press office said.
About the boats
The Project 02510 high-speed amphibious assault boats are designated to sealift and land an assault force, provide fire support for the landing party, participate in anti-saboteur measures, fight piracy and terrorism, carry light cargoes and take part in rescue operations. The boat can accommodate three crewmembers and up to 18 personnel.
The Project 02510 BK16 amphibious assault boat is 16 meters long and four meters wide, with a displacement of 22 tonnes and a speed of 40 knots (almost 75 km/h). Additionally, it has an operating range of up to 400 nautical miles.
The boat is outfitted with a remote-controlled weapon station built by the Kalashnikov Group firearms manufacturer and is capable of detecting and striking targets during the day and at night under any weather conditions. The combat module features armor protection against B-32 armor-piercing 7.62 mm bullets and a gyro-stabilized platform that boosts the accuracy of fire in a ship’s roll.
[TRIBUNEONLINENG] RECENTLY, in what must have sounded as yet another distressing and depressing news for Nigeria’s beleaguered populace, the International Committee on Nigeria (ICON), in collaboration with the International Organisation for Peace Building and Social Justice (PSJ), released a damning report on genocide, religious persecution and other crimes in Nigeria, showing how the terrorist group, Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... , had killed a staggering number of Nigerians in the last 20 years. The report titled Nigeria’s Silent Slaughter: Genocide in Nigeria and the Implications for the International Community also exposed ongoing attacks by forces of Evil which have caused the death of many Nigerians, primarily farmers.
Based on the data collected between January 2000 and January 2020, there were 19, 101 deaths resulting from attacks by bad boy attacks across the country. Similarly, 52, 861 persons were said to have been killed by Boko Haram, while 44, 303 persons were documented to have been killed by other actors. The report highlights the critical need for intervention by the United States (coordinated by an empowered Presidential Envoy) to address the situation in Nigeria and the Lake Chad region. ICON stated that it had empowered a team of international lawyers to make a prima facie case on religious persecution/genocide, calling on the United States government to intervene and coordinate an international response to address the growing human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... abuses and threats in Nigeria and the Lake Chad region.
While urging the Nigerian government to upgrade the quality of service chiefs to personnel who can demonstrably, emphatically and proactively tackle and address the present crisis of insecurity in order to make the country safe again, ICON said it expected the Nigerian government to review the country’s constitution and correct inconsistencies, inequalities, and jurisprudential mischief that compromise the letter and spirit of the country’s civil association as a political community.

[AlAhram] This would be in return for the release of about 7,000 hard boy prisoners held in Afghanistan's jails
An Afghan government negotiator on Thursday said the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... had offered a three-month ceasefire in exchange for the release of 7,000 hard boy prisoners, as the murderous Moslem group continues a sweeping offensive across the country.
"It is a big demand," Nader Nadery said, adding that the turbans have also demanded the removal of the Taliban's leaders from a United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... blacklist.
The announcement came as Pakistain guards used tear gas Thursday to disperse hundreds of people who tried to breach a border crossing into Afghanistan, officials said.
The frontier was closed a day earlier by Pakistain after the Taliban seized the Afghan side in Spin Boldak district, continuing sweeping gains made by the murderous Moslems since foreign forces stepped up their withdrawal from Afghanistan.
"An unruly mob of about 400 people tried to cross the gate forcefully. They threw stones, which forced us to use tear gas," said a security official at the southwest Chaman border on the Pakistain side, who asked not to be named.
He said around 1,500 people had gathered at the border, waiting to cross since Wednesday.
"We had to baton charge because people were getting unruly," said a second border official, who also did not want to be named.
Jumadad Khan, a senior government official in Chaman, said the situation was now "under control".
An Afghan Taliban source told AFP that hundreds of people had also gathered on the Afghan side, hoping to get into Pakistain.
"We are talking to Pak authorities. A formal meeting to open the border is scheduled for today, and hopefully, it will open in a day or two," he said.
The crossing provides direct access to Pakistain's Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... province -- where the Taliban's top leadership has been based for decades -- along with an unknown number of reserve fighters who regularly enter Afghanistan to help bolster their ranks.
A major highway leading from the border connects to Pakistain's commercial capital Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... and its sprawling port on the Arabian Sea, which is considered a linchpin for Afghanistan's billion-dollar heroin trade that has provided a crucial source of revenue for the Taliban's war chest over the years.
Spin Boldak was the latest in a string of border crossings and dry ports seized by the turbans in recent weeks as they look to choke off revenues much-needed by Kabul while also filling their own coffers.
Afghanistan's interior ministry has denied the Taliban have taken the area even as social media was flooded with pictures of hard boy fighters relaxing in the frontier town.
Hours after the crossing fell, an AFP news hound on the Pak side saw around 150 Taliban fighters riding on cycle of violences, waving hard boy flags and demanding to be allowed to cross into Afghanistan.
[Garowe] At least 11 al-Shabaab ...... the personification of Somali state failure... faceless myrmidons were killed by the Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] in Kudha, Jubaland, a senior military official said, in the latest crack-down targeting the group, who otherwise control large swathes of rural central and southern Somalia.
The Wednesday's operation by the KDF was the latest in Somalia to be conducted and comes at the time AMISOM troops are working hard to implement the Somali Transition Plan [STP] before they officially leave Somalia.
David Goldman, the Director of Counterterrorism, National Security, and Intelligence Analysis at Strategic Intelligence, confirmed the Wednesday mid-morning incident, adding that two vehicles belonging to the al-Qaeda branch in Somalia were destroyed during the aerial and ground operation.
According to him, the faceless myrmidons were targeting the Jubaland Security Forces [JSF] who work closely with the KDF, while they were returning to their base after patrol. The faceless myrmidons managed to kill seven JSF troops, while three sustained injuries, in the early morning attack.
"Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] at Kuday FOB reinforced the JSF by deploying a gunship helicopter and a ground fighting patrol unit. The army intercepted the faceless myrmidons and their vehicles along the Kuday-Tosha Road and destroyed the vehicles and their occupants," he said.
"At the same time, Special Operators took out nine faceless myrmidons who had disengaged from the vehicles," Mr. Goldman added, noting that at least 10 JSF officers were critically injured and are currently receiving treatment at a KDF base.
According to the weekly Counter-Terrorism Intelligence Brief for East Africa, the first ten days of July witnessed a surge in Death Eaters’ attacks directed on hard targets. They attempted liquidations and ambush raids on government officials.
In the same period under review, al-Shabaab notably carried out a suicide mission and IED raids both on security forces and on civilian targets. The capital Mogadishu was largely targeted by the Death Eaters.
In the period under review, at least 17 attacks were recorded, all from across the regions of Somalia. al-Shabaab has notably targeted AMISOM troops in Gedo, Lower Shabelle, Lower Juba, and Bay and Bakool regions in a number of these attacks. Most of the raids against the targets are notably ambushes and setting up of roadside IEDs.
Elsewhere, reports indicate that two minibusses loaded with al-Shabaab faceless myrmidons attacked locals in the vicinity of Jidow in Warsheikh town in the early hours of Wednesday morning, leading to a fierce shootout according to eyewitnesses.
The faceless myrmidons reportedly attempted to force locals to accept paying zakat. Locals reportedly repelled the faceless myrmidons back. The al-Shabaab group usually targets security forces, senior government officials, and at times, innocent civilians within Somalia and across the border.
[AnNahar] French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said Thursday that PM-designate Saad Hariri ...Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too.... 's resignation was proof that "Lebanese officials are unable to find a way out of the crisis," accusing them of "cynical self-destruction."
A front man for the U.N. meanwhile described the development as regrettable, reiterating calls for a government capable of addressing the country's "numerous challenges" to be put together rapidly.
International donors remain adamant that a government must be established before they can open credit lines, but political squabbling among Lebanese factions has repeatedly stymied those efforts, amid soaring poverty rates.
Hariri's announcement -- nearly a year after a deadly explosion at Beirut port forced the last government to resign -- takes the political process back to square one. There is a clear risk of many more months of drift.
President Michel Aoun ...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah... will now have to call on parliament to pick a new premier-designate, who will be tasked with assembling another cabinet which in turn will have to be approved by the president and political factions.
Hariri's decision followed a meeting with Aoun over his draft cabinet lineup.
"There were amendments requested by the president, which I considered substantial," Hariri told news hounds after the meeting.
"It is clear that... we will not be able to agree," he added, noting that the president had expressed the same opinion.
- SPORADIC PROTESTS -
Aoun's office hit back, saying that Hariri "was not ready to discuss amendments of any kind... (leaving) the door to discussion... closed."
Hariri has previously repeatedly accused Aoun of hampering the process by insisting on a cabinet share that would effectively give his team a decision-making veto.
The president's team, for its part, claims that it is only seeking a balanced distribution of ministerial seats.
The premier-designate's exit leaves Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady human sacrifice days of Baal Moloch. In 2020 Hezbollahblew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate faci8lity exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that... rudderless amid a deepening economic crisis that the World Bank has branded as one of the planet's worst since the mid-19th century.
The Lebanese pound, officially pegged to the dollar at 1,500, plummeted to a new record low beyond 20,000 on the black market after Hariri's announcement, prompting renewed street protests and road closures in a country that is struggling to fund basic imports such as fuel and medicines.
A few dozen protesters clashed with soldiers who fired rubber bullets to try to clear roads near a major sports stadium in Beirut, an AFP correspondent said.
The Lebanese Red Thingy, which dispatched three ambulances to the area, said people were maimed, but did not specify how many.
Protests also engulfed other parts of the country as the highway linking Beirut to the South was blocked in several locations.
Hariri had been nominated prime minister designate in October 2020, following a devastating explosion at Beirut port in August caused by unsafely stored fertilizer that killed more than 200 people.
- SECTARIAN CLEAVAGE -
He is the second candidate to fail at forming a government in less than 12 months.
With cabinet berths and parliamentary seats distributed according to religious sects, Hariri's exit will further complicate negotiations, as he is widely seen as the pivotal representative of the country's Sunni Moslems.
For months, Hariri and Aoun have traded blame for delays in establishing a government.
The international community has pledged millions of dollars in humanitarian aid since last year's port blast, but made the money conditional on installing a government capable of tackling corruption.
Hariri, who has previously led three governments in Lebanon, replaced as premier designate Mustafa Adib, a relatively unknown diplomat.
Adib had been nominated in late August but threw in the towel nearly a month later, because of resistance from factions over his proposed line-up.
Hariri's decision came as Lebanon prepares to mark the first anniversary of the August 4 explosion -- its worst peace-time tragedy -- which many blame on negligence by politicians.
While the port disaster forced the last government, led by outgoing prime minister Hassan Diab, to resign, he and his cabinet have lingered on in a caretaker capacity.
Nabil Bou Monsef, a political commentator in An-Nahar newspaper, said that naming a new prime minister would now be even more difficult.
"We may not be able to form a government or find an alternative to Saad Hariri," he said. "President Michel Aoun will now consider himself victorious in getting rid of Saad Hariri. But in reality, (Aoun) has opened the gates of hell for the whole country and his rule."
The 51-year-old Hariri has served as prime minister twice, the first time from 2009-2011. His second time came in 2016, in an uneasy partnership with Aoun, an ally of Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory... , which is backed by Iran. At the time, Hariri had backed Aoun for president, ending nearly two years for Lebanon without a head of state, while he stepped in as premier.
In 2017, in a reflection of a feud between Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century... and its regional rival Iran, Hariri suddenly resigned in a televised address from Riyadh and accused Hizbullah of taking Lebanon hostage. The move was seen as forced on Hariri by the Saudis, and he was quickly restored to power, but it signaled the end of his traditional alliance with the Sunni regional powerhouse.
Then, in October 2019, Hariri resigned, bowing to nationwide protests demanding major reforms. A year later, parliament named him once again to the post, months after the government of Hassan Diab resigned in the wake of the massive Aug. 4 explosion in Beirut's port. More than 200 people died in the blast that defaced the city and injured thousands, compounding Lebanon's woes. An investigation continues into what caused it.

I can't say I blame Hariri; it looks like he was going to be Lebanon's Trump, i.e. the guy who doesn't have any authority but is to blame for all the things the real permanent government does.
[KhaamaPress] Head of Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Services Commission Nader Naderi said 260 civilian facilities have been demolished which has left 13 million Afghan people out of civil services.
Nader Naderi in a news conference on Thursday said that buildings were destroyed in 28 provinces.
Head of ARCSC said 50 thousand civil services employees were left out of a job and a total of 112 projects stalled due to ongoing conflict between the Taliban ...Arabic for students... and the Afghan government.
Naderi too expressed concern over new laws imposed by the Taliban after they toppled districts over the country. As per Naderi, new laws include women not being allowed to go out of home without relatives and men not being allowed to work for the government.
The Taliban have not commented on the issue yet.
Nader Naderi who is also a member of the Afghan government negotiating team in Doha said the Taliban demands the release of the remaining seven thousand prisoners in return for a three-month armistice. He added that the release of five thousand Taliban detainees not only made the security situation better but rather deteriorated it.
An Afghan delegation led by the head of High Peace Council Abdullah Abdullah ...the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against both Karzai and Ghani. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun. He also held the meaningless salaried sop position as CEO of Afghanistan, while Ghani was president... visit Doha on Friday 16th July.
[ToloNews] Afghanistan’s First Vice President Amrullah Saleh on Thursday said that the Pak air force has warned the Afghan National Army (ANA) and the Afghan Air Force that any move to dislodge the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... from the Spin Boldak area will be faced and repelled by the Pakistain Air Force.
" Breaking: Pakistain air force has issued official warning to the Afghan Army and Air Force that any move to dislodge the Taliban from Spin Boldak area will be faced and repelled by the Pakistain Air Force. Pak air force is now providing close air support to Taliban in certain areas," Saleh wrote in a Twitter post.
This comes two days after Taliban fighters claimed that they had seized control of the Spin Boldak crossing area between Afghan and Pakistain territory.
Spin Boldak crossing is one of the key strategic locations in Kandahar province, which is adjacent to Pakistain.
Video released by the Taliban on social media showed the group's white flag flying in place of the Afghanistan’s national flag above the Friendship Gate.
This new development takes place as Pakistain has announced that it will hold a peace conference on Afghanistan in the coming days.
The meeting was originally scheduled on July 17. But it was postponed due to a trip by prominent Afghan politicians to Doha where they are set to meet with Taliban leaders about ending the current conflict.
The Taliban recently seized some other major border crossings, in Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... , Farah and Kunduz provinces.

You can actually look down on Chaman, Pakistan from the rise that Spin sits on. The late Afghan Border Patrol General and ruthless warlord, Abdul 'Raziq' Achakzai owned the area that Spin sits on. Raziq is no longer among the living, having been assassinated in Kandahar in 2018 by the TB. They got his father and they eventually got him as well.
As you can imagine, Raziq had an intense hatred for the TB. When Afghan Border Parol (ABP) took a TB prisoner, they were generally never seen or heard from again. Few ABP Taliban detainees ever made the journey to the Parwan Detention Facility. There were no ABP detainee 'happy endings.' It became something of a local joke. Ruthless little bastard he was, but quite effective.
His personal entourage (bodyguard detail) all had that 1000m stare. Shades of Saddam's men, same-same ruthless glare. Men who had long ago, lost track of their personal body counts.
Had he not been lured into taking that Police Chief job up North and stayed at his fortress near Spin, he'd probably be alive and in control of the region today. He took a few hundred of his men with him to the new job, but the TB finally got him. He was out of his element.
Fees from the border crossing post at Spin are quite lucrative. The Paks now effectively control both sides and can now send anything or anybody they want straight on into, or out of AFG.
”If the Prophet Mohammed (PTUI!) didn’t have it, you don’t need it.”
[ToloNews] Ahmad Nader Nadery, the chairman of the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission (IARCSC), on Thursday said that the IARCSC findings show that in the districts recently seized by the Taliban ...Arabic for students... essential government services have been halted, and a large number of civil servants have been harmed, or displaced from their areas to lovely provincial capitals.
According to Nadery, the Taliban either torched or destroyed 260 government buildings and assets in 116 districts.
Nadery said that 13 million Afghans have been deprived of social services in the Taliban-controlled areas and 50,000 employees including women have been affected in Taliban territories.
"There are more than 13 million people living in areas and districts recently captured by the Taliban, who currently have no access to public services. In these areas, hundreds of development projects such as the reconstruction of water supply networks, roads, retaining walls, the construction of schools, bridges, hospitals, stadiums, cold storage facilities, drilling wells, etc., have been shut down. For instance, in the Taliban-controlled districts of Takhar province alone, 112 ongoing development projects have now been completely stopped," said IARCSC chief Nader Nadery.
The Taliban has denied the allegations. No, no! Certainly not! Nadery said that the damage done by the Taliban on state institutions is estimated to be around $500 million. He said that 4,000 public services employees have evacuated their native areas because of the threats of the Taliban.
"Attacks on civilian targets, including civilian infrastructure, is a clear breach of international humanitarian laws. These crimes must stop. A peaceful settlement of conflict and a shared future for our people is the only path to stop the destruction and suffering of our country and people," said Nadery.
"In districts under Taliban control in Paktia province, only those women working in gynecology are permitted to work, but they must wear a Hijab and be accompanied by a Mahram," said Nadery.
"As the Taliban took control of the districts, more than 50,000 civil servants are unable to perform their duties and live in an uncertain situation. Nearly 4,000 of which have either been harmed or displaced from their areas to lovely provincial capitals due to the bad security situation and threats," said Nadery.
Meanwhile, ...back at the game, the Babe was wondering why the baseball kept getting bigger and bigger. Finally it hit him... the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) has said that there are reports that the Taliban imposed some restrictions on the people in areas under their control over the past few weeks.
According to the AIHRC, these restrictions included a ban on women leaving the house without a proper veil and male guardian, the closure of girls schools, a ban on the delivery of health services to women who do not have male guardians, a halt to TV programs, forcing teachers and students to not shave their beards, and putting on turbans.
"Thirteen million humans, 13 million oppressed people in Afghanistan have been affected due to the actions of the Taliban," said Nadery.
"One of the restrictions is a restriction on women, one of the restrictions is that the women cannot go out of their homes without a veil and guardian," said Zabihullah Farhang, a front man for the AIHRC.
"From the day the Taliban took over our area, the women cannot go outside of their homes or to work," said senator Fawzia Samkani.
However, facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable... the Taliban in a statement has rejected Naderi’s statement.
The Taliban in their statement said that social services including the delivery of health services, agriculture and schooling continues in their areas.

As the Daily Mail article pointed out, the Paks are providing air support to the Taliban. This excerpt is kind of amusing, indicative of the Taliban's tendency to lie by default:
Dozens of wounded Taliban fighters were being treated at a Pakistan hospital near the border after fierce overnight fighting, AFP correspondents at the scene reported.
'We have suffered one death and dozens of our fighters have got injured,' Mullah Muhammad Hassan, who identified himself as a Taliban insurgent, told AFP near Chaman in Pakistan, about five kilometres (three miles) from the border.
The traditional casualty ratio tends to be one death for every two injuries. And yet, this spokesperson claims one death and dozens of injuries. Maybe he meant some of the "injured" weren't technically dead because lacking heads or limbs, no one had bothered checking for a pulse.
The prospect of Pakistani intervention is exactly why air defenses are becoming a necessity for the Afghan government. It's unfortunate that the Afghans weren't supplied with at least minimal Soviet bloc type fighter bombers, if technology theft by either China or Russia were an issue. It's possible that the funds just weren't available, after all the other demands on the $5b annual stipend were met.

There's an aspect of guerrilla war that's not often remarked upon - the deliberate destruction of infrastructure. Israelis turn this against the Pallies by dehousing the families of suicide bombers. A huge chunk of US aid goes towards repairing damage inflicted by Pakistan through its proxy, the Taliban. If we destroyed a chunk of Pakistani highway for every chunk of Afghan roadway destroyed, the Paks would, at minimum, have less money to finance the Taliban. Anyway, the road not taken.

Our entire campaign in Afghanistan should have consisted of complete destruction of water and electric facilities followed by leaflets that said "You can have water and electricity again when you hand over bin Laden." And then follow through.

[IsraelTimes] Social media firm’s cyber-espionage investigations chief says some malicious code used in ’well-resourced operation’ was developed by company with ties to Revolutionary Guards
Facebook said on Thursday that it has disrupted an Iran-based espionage operation targeting defense and aerospace workers in Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... and the United States.
Fake accounts posing as company job recruiters or employees were used to dupe targets, according to head of cyber espionage investigations Mike Dvilyanski.
"This effort was highly targeted," Dvilyanski said in a telephone briefing.
"It is hard for us to know how successful this campaign was, but it had all the hallmarks of a well-resourced operation."
Some of the malicious code used in the cyber spying campaign was developed by the Mahak Rayan Afraz tech company in Tehran, who have ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to Dvilyanski.
Facebook took down 200 accounts it said were used to dupe defense or aerospace industry workers into connecting outside the social network, through techniques such as compromised emails or bogus job websites.
The group referred to as "Tortoiseshell" had focused its activities in the Middle East until last year, when it primarily took aim at the United States, according to Dvilyanski.
"This group used various malicious tactics to identify its targets and infect their devices with malware to enable espionage," said Facebook director of threat disruption David Agranovich.
"Our platform was one of the elements of the much broader cross-platform cyber-espionage operation, and its activity on Facebook manifested primarily in social engineering and driving people off-platform."
Malware slipped onto devices of victims was designed to glean information including log-in credentials to email or social media, according to Dvilyanski.
Facebook said it appeared fewer than 200 users may have fallen for the ruse, and that those people have been notified of the deception.
Facebook also blocked some of the booby-trapped website links from being shared within the social network, according to executives.
The tech giant added that it shared findings with internet industry peers and law enforcement.
"We were only part of this campaign, and we are taking action on our platform," Dvilyanski said.
[IsraelTimes] Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. Qatari envoy Mohammed al-Emadi is reportedly pressuring Hamas to agree to the demands as soon as possible, which would see approximately $30 million transferred to the Gaza Strip in the form of a debit card-like system for needy families.
Israeli officials reportedly want the transfer to be complete before the Eid al-Adha ...a major Moslem holiday, marked by animal sacrifice and ritual rioting... holiday, which begins next week.
