[IsraelTimes] The Knesset early Thursday voted overwhelmingly to pass a resolution rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state.
The resolution was co-sponsored by parties in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition together with right-wing parties from the opposition and even received support from Benny Gantz’s centrist National Unity party.
Lawmakers from Opposition Leader Yair Lapid’s center-left Yesh Atid party left the plenum to avoid backing the measure, even though he has spoken in favor of a two-state solution. The only ones to oppose the resolution were lawmakers from the Labor, Ra’am and Hadash-Ta’al parties.

[JustTheNews] Several major whistleblower groups are fighting the Justice Department’s efforts in federal court to permanently hide why it spied on congressional investigators by obtaining their phone records during a leaks investigation years ago.
The whistleblower group, Empower Oversight, whose founder Jason Foster was one of the investigators whose phone records were taken when he was still in a top Senate staffer, had asked a federal judge to unseal the underlying documents that allowed DOJ to acquire the records in 2017.
But the government responded recently by saying the records should be permanently sealed and kept from public disclosure, according to a new filing from Empower Oversight.
“Rather than cooperate with Empower Oversight to find a way that these records may be released with appropriate redactions, DOJ’s response to Empower Oversight’s motion was to insist on continued (and permanent) secrecy—nearly seven years after the underlying events,” the new filing said.
“The only conceivable purpose of this secrecy is to obscure key facts from Congress and the public, thereby undermining the typical presumption of good faith to which DOJ would otherwise be entitled,” it added. “Indeed, DOJ’s demand for total secrecy raises serious suspicions that DOJ opposed Empower Oversight’s request merely to continue concealing its previous disregard for the separation of powers and for the whistleblower protection policy implications of its subpoenas.”
Just the News first reported last year that multiple congressional investigators, Democrat and Republican, were notified years after the fact that their phone records were seized by subpoena in 2017.
The investigators included Kash Patel, lead investigator for the House Intelligence Committee, and Foster, a top investigator for the Senate Judiciary Committee, both of whom were investigating Justice Department and FBI abuses during the discredited Russia collusion investigation.
The revelation outraged numerous members of Congress, who argued that the subpoenas had violated the Constitution‘s separation of powers between Congress and the executive branch. Several lawmakers demanded answers from DOJ, including Sen. Ted Cruz and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, Republicans.
To date, the Justice Department has not publicly offered its rationale for why it’s subpoenaed the phone records either to Congress or the courts.
In a rare move, several other whistleblower groups, including the Government Accountability Project, joined Empower Oversight, filing an amicus brief demanding that the court unseal the documents showing why prosecutors intruded on congressional investigators privacy.
“For many whistleblowers, whether they can communicate confidentially is the key whether to challenge abuses of power,” GAP legal director Tom Devine said. “Secret subpoenas of congressional offices are a clear and present danger both to whistleblowers and Congress as a constitutional check and balance.
“If this decision stands, no congressional office can honestly reassure confidential whistleblowers that they have not become part of a Justice Department dossier."
Joining GAP in the amicus was Whistleblowers of America (WOA) and FBI Whistleblower Michael German – who since leaving the FBI has worked with, “members of Congress and their staffs, to assist other FBI employees seeking to report abuse, and to craft stronger protections for all national security whistleblowers.”
[Breitbart] The Texas Department of Public Safety added two child sex offenders to the State’s 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List. The two men replace two other criminal illegal immigrants from the list following their arrests.
DPS officials added Fabian Martinez Toribio and Octavio Cruz Hernandez to the recently created Texas 10 Most Wanted Criminal Immigrants List. Officials report both men have connections to Central Texas.
[Simplicius] The Trump “event” has come and gone, and we’re really no closer to knowing precisely what happened, as details have only become more convoluted, with endless conspiracy theories floated by click- and ragebait-happy pundits. Of course, that includes the media itself, which floated the most nonsensical conspiracy theory of all: that Iran may have been responsible for Trump’s assassination attempt.
But I don’t intend to get into the nitty gritty as it’s pointless playing detective over an event whose chief perpetrators are known to all with a modicum of logical ability.
The more interesting aspect is how things have returned to relative normality after such a momentous, potentially epoch-shifting circumstance. Democrats have done their best to re-stabilize the political narrative back to status quo and demonstrate that Trump’s election chances have not been overly boosted. It’s quite difficult to tell these days, as the epistemic divergence has become so vast between the two sides that each literally operates in the haze of a separate reality. Democrat surveys show Biden still ahead, while other polls show a catastrophic situation for Biden’s re-election chances.
There is a deep sense of normalcy bias in America, with the masses seemingly impervious to any sense of doom or dread. But if you examine the ‘worst case scenarios’ over the course of the past year, almost every one was hit in turn. For instance, at one point it seemed inconceivable that a recent President could be impeached, then charged or jailed, yet it was done to Trump. Now, many thought it an unlikely fantasy that they would try to take him out the kinetic way, and we’ve now seen that happen too.

But even if the latest developments have ensured that Trump should win the election, his near-assassination has taught us one very important lesson: that the Right will not “revolt” or wage some kind of dramatic, Hollywood-style civil war any time soon, even if further aggravations of a terminal sort occur, such as the total theft of the election later this year.
Many on the Right now brag that not a single fire was lit, nor a soul harmed in the wake of an open hit attempt on their candidate. However, some still cling to fantasies that were the shooter successful, an explosive civil war would have kicked off. But given the total normalcy and calm even in the face of near-disaster, it’s become evident that the majority of normal Americans will not “rise up” any time soon. Whether it’s a level of first world comfort that has yet to be totally eroded, or mass propagandizing, or the simple decades of docility imposed upon them by the establishment—it’s hard to know for sure. But it’s clear no one is going to “rise up” in the way some have imagined any time soon.
It has led me to contemplate what a potential civil war could actually look like if it did kick off, and what I’ve concluded is that it would have to be at the behest of strong State governments initiating some major anti-federal actions. Texas, for instance, could begin some of the anti-fed moves Governor Abbott promised long ago, leading to the call up of citizens into the National Guard or even declaring the call up of various state militias. Most people don’t know that the National Guard is actually State controlled, with the governor as its commander-in-chief. It only becomes ‘Federalized’ under an express order from the President for a specific Federal mission, which in such dire circumstances could be ignored by the State, thus spurring a conflict. Ron Desantis, in fact, has already threatened to do this, among other things.

...while I ignore the fundamental fact that the 'militia' is every able bodied male citizen. That there are over 300 million guns and heaven knows how much ammo is out there. The Feds presence is only where they have boots on the ground and no further. That when the Fed loses its legitimacy it lacks the manpower to cover all electrical lines, pipelines, rail lines, bridges, etc. That deep blue urban areas do not create their own energy or their own food nor the manufacture the materials to get the aforementioned infrastructure back on line. Nearly all the 'enforcement' of the Fed live in the communities not in bases or compounds.

[Red State] Joe Biden might have gotten a little grace period immediately after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump from the Democrats trying to push him to step aside from the 2024 race.

Knox’s latest article, with Aneeta Mathur-Ashton, detailed the steps the Secret Service would take to secure the former president, especially from potential sniper positions.
Eliminating sniper positions became a priority after JFK’s assassination in 1963:
The Secret Service has well-practiced protocols for securing a rally by a president or major presidential candidate, involving counterassault commandos and sniper teams in addition to the protective detail like the one that swarmed Trump at the podium and covered him with their bodies until word came that the shooter was dead.
Agents would have conducted a site "sweep" that included assessing where a sniper might position themselves. It’s been one of the most well-known threats to presidential security since President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 assassination in Dallas.
These steps include (emphasis mine):
Posting a Secret Service agent or local law enforcement officer on a rooftop.
Assigning a counter-sniper team to monitor a rooftop.
Putting up something to make it impossible to see the stage from a rooftop (a screen, tents — in the past, some campaign rallies even used stacked shipping containers). The armored presidential limousine, nicknamed "The Beast," regularly pulls into a tent outside events.
Frequent patrols.
Look at the photos that combat veteran Sean Parnell dropped, which expose the lack of objects guarding Trump’s stage.
Ignore the community note on the second tweet. Sean pointed out that security did not place anything to block that line of sight.

How must those agents who swarmed over Trump to protect him feel, knowing that their colleagues didn't shoot the sniper before he started shooting? They put their lives on the line and now they must know they were at risk due to failures/conspiracies of their colleagues and their boss. How can they continue in that kind of work environment?

The idea was rushed into action after the Gaza aid stampede in late February when dozens of Gazans were killed trying to get food from aid trucks that had reached northern Gaza. The images from the disaster spurred action in Washington. It was clear that after months of war, northern Gaza was on the brink of a possible humanitarian catastrophe. While a million people had evacuated northern Gaza, several hundred thousand remained.
The pier was supposed to enable food to be brought by sea to Gaza. Because it would be attached to the shore in an area Israel controlled, Hamas would not be able to divert the food to its own needs, as it was doing by controlling the Rafah crossing with Egypt. For Israel, the pier made initial sense because it would alleviate pressure regarding Israel’s actions in northern Gaza and also provide a conduit for food to arrive if and when the IDF went into Rafah.

I've been long and short as well with fairly predictable results, so probably lots of people have seen the same thing. The coincidental nature of a single trade isn't the question.
There seem to be lots of coincidences. Evidently this was the first and only rally that CNN televised. Who knows? A one off, obviously.
Then there was the question Michael Yon raised. I have some mixed feelings about the man and have only met him incidentally at most. But he made an interesting point about the now famous photo of the bullet caught mid-air and the speed necessary for that kind of capture. Seems like 'overkill' for an afternoon political rally in the summer. Probably a one off, right?
Then there is the Keystone cop performance at the rally. What's even to say since more revelations come out by the minute.
Past a certain point in Life, adult operating assumptions come into play whether you want them to or not. There is simply too much here and they are signalling, for the moment anyway, they have no intention to answer up.

One outlier, like an assassination attempt, by its self is a coincidence. Two outliers occurring together are usually linked.
This trade move was an unprecedented short in regards to volume for the stock, and this was also if I am reading things correctly, this was the largest short by Austine Private Wealth.

Cesare - In my circle, they believe the photographer had to be in on it. Because he had anticipated the shot, we deduce the journalist was there to capture Trumps Brain Exploding Live on TV.
No photographer casually keeps their camera's aperture at 1/8000. But this guy did. Very sus as the kids say.
8000 = 1/8000 second exposure (the shutter opens and closes within one eight-thousands of a second). You may have noticed that even though a one-second exposure seems very fast, it's actually a very slow shutter speed compared to 1/4000's of a second, or 1/8000's of a second.
You only set your aperture to 8000 unless you are anticipating a certain shot.

Actually, 1/5000th is a common speed with modern digital mirrorless cameras in full sun. They got it all over DLR's and SLR's. They can shoot it like a movie, as long as you got the memory.

The company released a statement. Turns out it was a 3rd party vendor they used to file financial activity and they made the error with them and multiple other investing companies in the report by boosting the numbers. The company only sold 12 shares (1,200 shorts). The reporting data on the federal website was corrected.

[Red State] There have been numerous powerful speeches at the Republican National Convention by many top-level GOP politicians, but decorated 98-year-old WWII and D-day veteran vet Sgt. William Pekrul added to the list with an amazing patriotic speech that fired up the crowd and led them to chant, "USA! USA!"
He recounted the sacrifices he and so many of our countrymen and women made to fight the Nazis in World War II and keep our country safe. But he also lamented what has happened to our great nation under the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden.
America is still worth fighting for, he told the crowd:

And as the details keep dripping out, we have more questions. Tonight, we're learning that the gunman was on law enforcement's radar for three hours, and the Secret Service designated Crooks a threat 10 minutes before Trump took the stage. And the Secret Service never said, Mr. President, don't go out there. They let Trump take the stage anyway. And eight minutes later, he was shot.
Crooks first aroused suspicion at around three on Saturday, when security saw him with a rangefinder passing through the metal detectors. Police say they had an eye on him until he disappeared. Crooks was later spotted for a second time, this time by a sniper looking up at the roof, observing the building that he scaled and shot from.
This was radioed into the command center. At one point, a sniper saw Crooks sit down and start scrolling through his phone, and investigators believe he may have actually had two phones. More on that later.
This is when Crooks looked so suspicious that a local sniper team took this picture of him an hour before he opened fire. All of this information was being sent to the Secret Service command team at the rally. A Trump supporter in the crowd then caught him on camera lurking around. Watch this.

Don't think that any phone that is linked to Crooks is a genuine phone he used. The "FBI Evidence Concoction Team" has been hard at work for days now.
[GEO.TV] Following preliminary investigation into the earth-shattering kaboom at the Jamshoro Police Station, the Counter-Terrorism Department and the Special Branch of Sindh police have concluded that the blast took place after explosives placed in the old Maal Khana (evidence room) went off.
"The explosion damaged the Maal Khana of the cop shoppe to a great extent," a CTD official said, clarifying that it was not a hand grenade explosion.

Speaking to Geo News, the senior police official said that the storeroom got heated up and as a result, the grenade went kaboom!, due to which two assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), five other police personnel, and a suspect sustained injuries.
Six of the injured are being treated at the Civil Hospital in Hyderabad, while two others have been shifted to Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... for further treatment, DIG Dharejo said.
The senior cop, although had earlier attributed the earth-shattering kaboom to heat, noted that an investigation was still underway to ascertain the cause of the blast while the bomb disposal squad was also at the scene of the incident.

President Biden was attempting to convey the message that he was fit and able to continue on with his campaign and snapped at Crow when he politely expressed his concerns to the president.
Instead of addressing Crow's and other moderate Democrats' concerns, Biden snapped at Crow and went on a full-blown assault, which ended with an attack on his Army and combat service and comparing it with his son Beau's service. Biden specifically ridiculed Crow's Bronze Star in a pathetic and out-of-bounds attack, which the campaign did not deny or dispute.
[I]t's Biden's shot about Crow's Bronze Star that stands out the most. It's not debatable that the president was mocking and belittling the representative's service in an attempt to claim that he's accomplished more than Crow. Biden randomly bringing up his deceased son is not at all surprising and is a familiar tick. In this case, though, the president was trying to dismiss Crow's multiple combat tours by falsely suggesting Beau Biden had done more with his Bronze Star despite being in a non-combat role.
From there, the president began screaming that he didn't "want to hear that crap" in response to Crow's gentle criticisms.
Beau Biden served in the Delaware Army National Guard as a JAG (Judge Advocate General) officer and served approximately one year in Iraq, assigned to the 261st Signal Brigade. He served from 2003-2009, obtaining the rank of Major before he died. During his time in Iraq, Beau Biden did not see combat, nor did he lead troops in any combat mission. His role as a JAG officer was an advisory role to American forces, usually when it came to rules of engagement during certain operations and other legal issues that came up. During/for his time in the National Guard, Biden was awarded two medals of note: a Bronze Star medal and a Legion of Merit, with the latter being awarded posthumously.
Representative Jason Crow, however, has a slightly different military background. Crow joined the Army in 2002, obtaining the rank of Captain before leaving the service in 2006. Crow served one tour in Iraq during the initial invasion in 2003, where he served as a platoon commander in the 82nd Airborne Division. Crow was awarded the Bronze Star with the "V" device for valor for actions during the Battle of Samawah. He then transferred over to the 75th Ranger Regiment, where he deployed to Afghanistan twice and was attached to the Joint Special Operations Task Force on the Pakistani border.
President Joe Biden told Crow that his service in combat didn't mean anything close to Beau's non-combat Iraq experience five years after the invasion. Putting aside that minor detail, what Biden did was tell an actual combat veteran that the Bronze Star he received for actions taken in the heat of battle didn't matter or did not amount to much of anything compared to Beau's. As a combat veteran myself, this is both infuriating and disgraceful. But for more reasons than you think.

If El Fasher is isolated (which means the road and the railroad supply lines to Khartoum are cut off) its time to get out of Dodge. City residents have had months of warning, but the Arab majority thought the government would save them. There is a tremendous amount of animosity amongst the U.S.'s black population and the US's founding fathers. George Washington owned over 300 slaves. Thomas Jefferson owned over 600 slaves. Even though hundreds of thousands of white people died in the civil war which resulted in the abolishment of slavery, the first few decades of US history was a very painful one for black America.

[NY Post] Special counsel Jack Smith is appealing a bombshell ruling from a Florida judge Monday tossing out the case accusing Donald Trump of hoarding confidential documents.
Federal Judge Aileen Cannon — who was appointed by the former president — dismissed the entire case against the 78-year-old on the grounds that Smith’s appointment to the prosecution violated the Constitution.
Smith — who is also overseeing the Washington, DC, case accusing Trump of 2020 election interference —filed a notice of appeal Wednesday of Cannon’s decision to the Atlanta-based 11th Circuit.
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung in a statement urged the Justice Department to “drop these politically motivated, election interference efforts against President Trump immediately.”
“Let us come together to END the weaponization of our justice system and Make America Great Again!” Cheung added, referencing the “hush money” conviction, two earlier civil judgments and the ongoing criminal charges hanging over the 45th president.
Those latter indictments include Smith’s stalled federal case against Trump for making “knowingly false” claims about voter fraud after the 2020 election that culminated in a mob of his supporters breaching the US Capitol building and delaying the certification of votes on Jan. 6, 2021.
Cannon ruled that Congress needed to approve Smith’s appointment by US Attorney General Merrick Garland, as well as the funds that his office had spent prosecuting the Republican presidential nominee.
The decision came roughly two weeks after Trump scored a win with a US Supreme Court ruling that found he benefits from absolute presidential immunity for “official acts.”
That ruling did specify what were considered “official acts” in the two federal cases against him.
But in a concurring decision, Justice Clarence Thomas paved the way for Cannon’s ruling, saying he thought the special counsel’s appointment may be unconstitutional.
Former Trump attorney Jim Trusty told The Post that former Attorney General Ed Meese submitted an amicus brief late last year that also put pressure on the judge to consider whether Smith’s appointment by current AG Garland violated the Appointments Clause of the Constitution.
The brief pointed out that Congress has yet to pass legislation recognizing the creation of the special counsel role after the elimination of an earlier law designating independent counsels for the Justice Department.
“Improperly appointed, he has no more authority to represent the United States in this Court than Bryce Harper, Taylor Swift or Jeff Bezos,’’ Meese and his brief co-authors said of Smith’s appointment.
Cannon in her ruling had also pointed out that prosecutors in Smith’s office billed the DOJ at least $24 million in bringing the unprecedented indictment against Trump last year for allegedly retaining sensitive national defense material at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
Still, Democrats in Congress slammed Cannon’s ruling as “misguided” and argued on “dubious constitutional grounds,” while Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe went as far as to accuse the Florida judge of writing “her job application to be the first appointee to the Supreme Court in Trump’s possible second term when Justice Alito or Justice Thomas retires.”
But Republicans celebrated the decision, with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) calling it “good news for America and for the rule of law.”

A bipartisan draft resolution in the US Congress also recognized these actions as genocide.
On June 5th 2024, another carnage took place in Wad-al-Nora village, al-Gazirah state. Around 270 villagers were slaughtered.
Despite global outrage over these crimes, in many aspects, the international community’s response appears slow, and insufficient and amounts to apathy.
APATHY ENCOURAGES IMPUNITY
The result is continued and unchecked ethnic cleansing and killings by the Militia in different parts of the country. The latest UN resolution and international condemnations essentially call for the RSF to behave themselves. This soft approach mistakenly assumes the Militia possesses a level of morality, legitimacy or discipline. The RAF’s response to the resolution; a major attack on El-Fasher, demonstrates its disregard for international diplomacy.
SHORT MEMORY?
Historically, the Janjaweed were globally known for their brutality in the Darfur conflict, with their crimes leading to the International Criminal Court’s involvement in 2005. Yet, certain Western quarters seem to have forgotten that the RSF is essentially an upgraded version of the Janjaweed, as the Enough Project puts it. Various international publications equally recall that the RSF evolved from the Janjaweed, infamous for ethnic cleansing and genocide. Wikipedia, the online encyclopaedia, explains "The RSF grew out of, and is primarily composed of, the Janjaweed militias".
Nevertheless, the leader of the Janjaweed, Hemetti, has been elevated to an international figure, receiving calls from the UN Secretary-General and the US Secretary of State, given a red carpet reception by a pro-West East African president, and even invited to an IGAD summit. This occurs even as the RSF militia continues its atrocities now spanning, beside Darfur, al-Gazirah, Greater Kordofan, Khartoum, and Sennar states, fully backed by its wealthy regional sponsor, the UAE, which supplies advanced weaponry, mercenaries, finance, and extensive PR and propaganda networks.
Thus, compared to its response to the Janjaweed crimes during the Darfur conflict 2003-2009, the international community seems this time indifferent towards their renewed atrocities, though the current victims constitute almost half of the Sudanese population.
CHANGING CONTEXT
Hemetti’s rise to the post of Deputy President of the Sovereign Council occurred during an extremely difficult transitional period following the ousting of the former regime by a popular uprising. in 2020 a comprehensive agreement of sorts was signed but in the summer of 2021 renewed violence began and since 2022 there has basically been a civil war between factions of the military

It would be nice if something other than Sudan Tribune articles appeared here. There is an ethnic struggle going on in the Sudan, with the various ethnicities choosing sides: pro-Arab, or anti-Arab. The Sudan Tribune has chosen the Arab side, Darfur and the western ethnicities have chosen otherwise. The cry has begun that starvation will cause tens of thousands of death in El Fasher, and one can expect the Sudan Tribune will continue to beat that drum in the hope of retaining the only Arab city left in western Sudan.

The Ombadda Block 5 neighbourhood in Omdurman is completely uninhabitable due to no remaining services, functional markets, hospitals, or medical centres. Widespread waste and decomposing corpses make the neighbourhood unsanitary.
Representatives from the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) travelled to Geneva for “indirect talks” under auspices of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Sudan, Ramtane Lamamra, focusing on humanitarian aid, safe humanitarian corridors and civilian protection.
Lamamra met separately with representatives from each side, however, a direct meeting between the two Sudanese parties has not been scheduled.
800,000 people are trapped in El Fasher, North Darfur, without food, water or access to medical services, said the World Health Organization (WHO). WHO warned of looming famine and hunger and need for a sustainable plan for delivery of humanitarian and relief supplies.
Hunger and acute lack of food is one of the main reasons for Sudanese refugees to flee the country. “They said it’s not insecurity, it’s not lack of access to basic services, but because we have nothing to eat there,” said Dr Shible Sahbani, WHO Representative to Sudan.
One third of wounded persons of Sudan’s conflict had been women and children under the age of 10, said Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
Sennar city has been cut off from access to food and fuel by RSF. Flour and rice are fully sold out at the markets and grain mills cannot produce new flour due to the lack of electricity, confirmed resistance committees in Sennar.
