Europe
Arson attacks paralyze French high-speed rail network hours before start of Olympics
[10News] French officials condemned the attacks as "criminal actions," though they said there was no sign of a direct link to the Games.
Uh huh. Just regular everyday arson attacks paralyzing transportation
Like the JFK airport arson.
France’s high-speed rail network was hit Friday with widespread and "criminal" acts of vandalism including arson attacks, paralyzing travel to Paris from across the rest of France and Europe only hours before the grand opening ceremony of the Olympics.

French officials condemned the attacks as "criminal actions," though they said there was no sign of a direct link to the Games, and prosecutors in Paris opened a national investigation saying the crimes could carry sentences of 15 to 20 years.

As Paris authorities geared up for a spectacular parade on and along the Seine River, three fires were reported near the tracks on the high-speed lines of Atlantique, Nord and Est, causing disruptions that affected hundreds of thousands of travelers.

Among them were two German athletes in showjumping who were on a train to Paris to take part in the opening ceremony but had to turn back in Belgium because of the closures, and will now miss the ceremony, German news agency dpa reported.

"There was no longer a chance of making it on time," rider Philipp Weishaupt, who was traveling with teammate Christian Kukuk, told dpa.

French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal wrote on the social media platform X that France’s intelligence services have been mobilized to find the perpetrators.

Attal characterized them as "acts of sabotage," which were "prepared and coordinated."

There were no known reports of injuries.

Transport Minister Patrice Vergriete described people fleeing from the scene of fires and the discovery of incendiary devices. "Everything indicates that these are criminal fires," he said.
as opposed to innocent arson fires?
The incidents paralyzed several high-speed lines linking Paris to the rest of France and to neighboring countries, Vergriete said, speaking on BFM television.

The French national rail company SNCF said that areas affecting rail track intersections were targeted to double the impact.

"For one fire, two destinations were hit," the company's CEO, Jean-Pierre Farandou.

It was "a premeditated, calculated, coordinated attack" that indicates "a desire to seriously harm" the French people, Farandou said.

The attack occurred against a backdrop of global tensions and heightened security measures as the city prepared for the 2024 Olympic Games. Many travelers were planning to converge on the capital for the opening ceremony, and many vacationers were also in transit.

French authorities have foiled several plots to disrupt the Olympics, including arresting a Russian man on suspicion of planning to destabilize the games.

The Paris police prefecture "concentrated its personnel in Parisian train stations" after the "massive attack" that paralyzed the TGV high-speed network, Laurent Nuñez, the Paris police chief, told France Info television.

The costs for such events is enormous and the revenues from the Olympics is comparably modest.

Secret Service Refused offer of drones before Trump rally in Butler
[MSN-WashingtonExaminer] The Secret Service declined an offer from local law enforcement to use drone technology at the rally where a gunman took shots at former President Donald Trump, an anonymous whistleblower told Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO).

Hawley revealed in a letter published Thursday to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that the whistleblower said the Secret Service "repeatedly" objected to using a drone that was capable of identifying and neutralizing an active shooter.

The whistleblower said a local law enforcement partner made the drone offers to the Secret Service the night before the rally, according to Hawley. The whistleblower said that after the shooting occurred, the Secret Service "changed course" and asked local police to use drone technology to surveil the scene, Hawley wrote.

The revelation comes after FBI Director Christopher Wray confirmed on Wednesday that Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, flew a drone over the rally site in Butler, Pennsylvania, about two hours before he carried out the shooting. Crooks was able to fire multiple shots into the rally crowd from a nearby rooftop, killing one, critically injuring two, and causing a minor injury to Trump.

#1  The one thing conspicuously missing in all the post-assassination-attempt reporting is WHO was in charge at Butler? Granted Cheatle was the buck-stops-here but who was the on-site USSS agent in charge who made all these decisions and non-decisions? And why are they still employed much less not identified?

#2  Cheatle already stated that Secret Service has no records of radio communications.

It is possible that the denial of the offered was also not recorded.

Wouldn't that be convenient.

I guess we'll never know unless some insider squeals. One approach might be to fire all USSS personnel on duty that day in Butler, the good, the bad, the ugly, the competent and incompetent. With the stipulation that the mass firing might be rescinded if the USSS comes clean with this info. Note that after Pearl Harbor, virtually all high ranking commanders in Hawaii were replaced. Right after 9/11, none was fired.

Fed agency that screens entry into US gov buildings fails to spot banned items 50% of time: watchdog
[JustTheNews] The Government Accountability Office reported that 50% of security screenings failed to detect prohibited items like IED components.
Some would say, if you want a thing done right, it’s probably best to keep the government out of it.
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has released a report showing that the Federal Protective Services (FPS) fails to detect items prohibited from entering federal buildings about 50% of the time.

The findings are the result of 27 "covert" GAO's investigations in the early part of this year at 14 federal buildings.

In half the tests, security screenings failed to detect prohibited items like batons, pepper spray, knives, and IED components, according to the report released Tuesday.

FPS is part of the Department of Homeland Security led by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The report also states the agency – which manages and oversees more than 13,000 contract guards – is working to improve screening by increasing training and analyzing data to identify common causes of test failures.
How does one test for responsibility and integrity?
"Federal real property has been on our High Risk List since 2003, due partly to past attacks on federal buildings, the report also states.

During his July 23 testimony, GAO Physical Infrastructure Team Director David Marroni said his agency identified deficiencies in FPS guard training and oversight that led to these screening failures going as far back as 2008.

New school safety system launches in Texas
[JustTheNews] Gov. Abbott created the role and appointed Scott in 2022 after the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde to ensure that all public schools in Texas are implementing school safety policies and using best practices to safeguard against school shootings or other dangers.

new school safety system has launched in Texas through the Texas Education Agency.

“As a new school year approaches, the safety of students, school faculty, and staff across Texas remains a top priority,” Gov. Greg Abbott said. “To bolster school safety standards, we are launching Sentinel – a new, sweeping system to enhance the safety and security of students and teachers across our great state. This cutting-edge technology is available to all schools in Texas and will expand the state’s threat assessments process, improve real-time communication capabilities, and better safeguard our children, teachers, and school communities.”
Is it replacing the big guys with clubs?
Abbott thanked the head of the TEA’s Office of School Safety and Security, John Scott, for working with superintendents and school safety personnel across the state to create and implement the new system.

Abbott created the role and appointed Scott in 2022 after the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde to ensure that all public schools in Texas are implementing school safety policies and using best practices to safeguard against school shootings or other dangers.

Scott previously served as assistant special agent in charge for the U.S. Secret Service Dallas/North Texas District. He’s been the single point of contact for coordinating school safety and security efforts statewide, working with the Texas School Safety Center, the Department of Public Safety, the Health and Human Services Commission, the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, the Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium, and the Advance Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center, school districts, and other entities.

Since he was brought on, several new policies have been implemented. Scott said his office “continues to search for ways to better support the 1,200 school systems in Texas and their efforts in keeping students and staff safe. The launch of Sentinel represents this continued focus, and I'm grateful for the Governor's support in getting this critical safety infrastructure off the ground and operational."

Sentinel is an innovative and comprehensive system designed to enhance the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff in school buildings statewide. The TEA provides it for free to all schools in Texas. It enables robust monitoring of school systems’ implementation and operation of safety and security policies and improves the threat assessment process.

Sentinel was designed to standardize Behavioral Threat Assessments (BTAs) into a single reporting mechanism to enable schools to have a clear way of conducting BTAs and managing threats. This uniform approach helps school systems identify, assess and mitigate risks to students and staff.

Sentinel is also part of statewide emergency operations providing state leaders with timely and accurate information and informing schools about local or statewide emergencies through a mass communication capability. The communications capability will also enable the TEA to securely communicate guidance, resources, or other information to schools.

Sentinel was developed after the Texas legislature passed two bills that Abbott signed into law last June.

House Bill 3, filed by state Rep. Dustin Burrows, R-Lubbock, strengthened state monitoring of school safety and increased the school safety allotment. It became effective last September. Senate Bill 30, filed by Sen. Joan Huffman, R-Houston, provided an additional $1.1 billion for school systems to bolster the safety of their facilities. It became effective last June.

The Texas School Safety Center has also extended its school safety reviews to ensure all public schools are following the appropriate procedures to maximize school safety. Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training programs have also expanded training to all school districts, prioritizing school-based law enforcement.

State agencies are also expanding their ability to report suspicious activity through the iWatchTexas reporting system as well as expanding public awareness through public safety campaigns.

Feds disrupt jet ski powered human smuggling network
[JustTheNews] Nineteen alleged members of a human smuggling organization were charged for coordinating the smuggling of dozens of unauthorized migrants into the United States from Mexico, mostly aboard personal watercraft on the Pacific Ocean.

Federal authorities busted a human smuggling operation powered by jet skis along the California coast.

Nineteen alleged members of a human smuggling organization were charged for coordinating the smuggling of dozens of unauthorized migrants into the United States from Mexico, mostly aboard personal watercraft on the Pacific Ocean.

Nine of the 19 are in custody. A grand jury returned an indictment against 14 members and a complaint was filed against an additional five, according to the Justice Department.

The nine arrested defendants were picked up at ports in San Diego during a multi-agency enforcement effort last week; the remaining defendants are fugitives.

Federal agents served court-authorized search warrants at suspected San Diego and Los Angeles stash houses. Agents seized over $100,000 in U.S. currency and two boxes of ammunition, in addition to more than $120,000 seized during the investigation.

"Human smuggling cases are a top priority because lives are at stake," U.S. Attorney Tara McGrath for the Southern District of California said. "Whether racing a jet ski up the coast without lifejackets or hauling a tractor trailer packed with people, smugglers expose vulnerable migrants to extreme danger and prioritize profit over human life."

The group took part in a long-running conspiracy to bring people from Mexico into the United States by land and sea. The group arranged for transport from Mexico by personal watercraft to coastal areas such as Sunset Cliffs, Bird Rock in La Jolla, and Imperial Beach, California. The smuggling operations took place at night and in dangerous conditions, according to the indictment and complaint.

Officials said the smugglers favor personal watercraft for their speed and ability to approach shore quickly, allowing rapid drop-offs and escape from authorities.

Group members were sometimes responsible for taking migrants further within the United States, whether driving themselves or coordinating with other drivers, including to Los Angeles; Santa Barbara, California; and Las Vegas, according to court records.

The organization allegedly charged between approximately $7,000 and $16,000 per smuggled person and transported tens of thousands of dollars in profits from San Diego to Mexico, according to court records.

"This indictment serves as notice to those transnational criminal organizations operating along our coastal border that it is only a matter of time before they are brought to justice," San Diego Sector Chief Border Patrol Agent Patricia McGurk-Daniel said. "Our focus continues to be on protecting our nation, and we will leverage all available resources to hold these criminals accountable for their actions."

Defendants Edgar Jiminez Macias, 33; Alex Ceja Guzman, 30, also known as Alejandro and Gordo; and Tobias Julian Burgara Gonzalez, 32, all of Tijuana, Mexico, and Junior Zavala Ramirez, 34, also known as JR, of Tecate, Mexico, are in custody. They are charged with conspiracy to bring in aliens for financial gain and bringing in aliens for financial gain and aiding and abetting.

If convicted, they each face a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison and a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.

Additional defendants Ivan Pulido Jauregui, 49; Manuel Gonzalez Lopez, 26, also known as Tortillero; Jesus Misael Molina Flores, 20; Alexis Adrian Villela Inda, 29; and Mateo Adrian Alduenda Gutierrez, 26, all of Nayarit, Mexico, are also in custody and are charged with conspiracy to bring in aliens for financial gain. If convicted, they each face a maximum penalty of five years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.

The names of the remaining defendants were not publicly released.

There would be no safe spaces, humanitarian food supplies, etc. Israel would go house to house, and simply kill anyone they found. There would be hundreds of thousands dead, not tens of thousands.

On the other hand, haven't Muslims called for the ELIMINATION of Jews? Ridding the world of the Jewish people? Wouldn't that be real genocide?

Patrushev: Ukrainian mines increasingly threaten civilian ships in the Black Sea
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The indiscriminate mining of the Black Sea coastal waters by the Ukrainian Navy is increasingly threatening civilian vessels, said Russian presidential aide Nikolai Patrushev, who oversees maritime policy issues, in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta on July 25.

“The indiscriminate mining of coastal waters <…> by the Ukrainian Navy leads to the spontaneous drift of sea mines, which increasingly threatens civilian vessels,” Patrushev said.

The Russian leader's aide added that unmanned boats that lose their course due to GPS navigation failure pose an unpredictable danger to shipping and coastal infrastructure.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, Patrushev said on July 25 that Russia had thwarted NATO's plans to establish a base in the Sea of Azov. According to him, NATO is brazenly increasing the number of naval bases outside its borders, pursuing the goal of turning the world's oceans into its sphere of influence.

As the Russian presidential aide recalled, ten years ago NATO's plan to create a naval base in Sevastopol failed. After that, the alliance tried to ensure the presence of its ships in the ports of the Sea of Azov to compensate for the failure, Patrushev specified.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated back in 2022 that Kiev had created a threat to shipping in the Black Sea. Ukrainian Navy units had laid mines on the coast, in port waters and territorial waters. The diplomat added that Ukrainian mines that had broken away from their mine anchors were now drifting across the Black Sea.

Patrushev: Russia has thwarted NATO's plans to establish a base in the Sea of Azov

Russia did not allow the North Atlantic Alliance to deploy a naval base in the Sea of Azov,Russian presidential aide Nikolai Patrushev, who oversees national maritime policy, said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

“NATO’s plans to place a naval base in the Sea of Azov and carry out military adventures using the fleet were thwarted,” Patrushev said.

He recalled that ten years ago, NATO's plan to establish a naval base in Sevastopol and turn Crimea into a permanent deployment site for US and allied troops failed. The alliance then tried to ensure the presence of its ships in the ports of the Sea of Azov to compensate for that failure.

NATO is brazenly increasing the number of naval bases outside its borders in order to turn the world's oceans into its sphere of influence, Patrushev also said.

According to him, the leader of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed Ukraine's maritime security strategy, defining NATO's place in the Black Sea, in an attempt to convince the world of its legitimacy.

Ukraine has no access to the Sea of Azov, its strategy does not correspond to reality, he stated.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, Patrushev previously noted that NATO military exercises in Europe, during which a scenario of conflict with Russia is being worked out, contribute to increasing tension and destabilizing the situation in the world. He also stated that NATO's entire policy is based on the interests of the United States, which uses the alliance to maintain its armed presence in Europe and demonstrate its indispensability in ensuring security in the region.

Russian US rep: Nebenzya advised Kyiv to study Putin's peace initiative
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Kiev's stated readiness for negotiations fits into Russia's position on the need for a diplomatic path to resolve the conflict, said Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, on July 25.

“If the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, is really ready to talk about peace, then he has before his eyes the peace proposals put forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin a month ago,” Nebenzya said at a UN Security Council meeting.

He stressed that representatives of the Kyiv regime should hurry with making a decision, since Russia “under no circumstances” will provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers with a respite on the battlefield in the form of a preliminary ceasefire.

Russia will achieve the goals of the SVO either on the battlefield or as a result of negotiations, the diplomat concluded.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on June 14, Putin named the conditions for resuming negotiations: the complete withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from new Russian regions, Kiev's refusal to join NATO, and the complete lifting of anti-Russian sanctions. In addition, the status of Crimea, Sevastopol, the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions as subjects of the Russian Federation should be enshrined in international treaties.

On July 21, Zelensky declared his readiness to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also did not rule out the possibility that the "hot stage" of the conflict in Ukraine will end by the end of 2024, admitting that it could result in Kiev losing more territory.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said at a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi that the country is willing and ready to conduct dialogue and negotiations with the Russian side. Later, the Foreign Ministry clarified that this could happen when Russia "is ready to negotiate in good faith."

Associate Professor of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Alexander Perendzhiev, in a comment to the Regnum news agency, called Kiev's statements a military maneuver. He explained that in 2015, when the liberation offensive of the DPR and LPR people's militias was underway, representatives of the Kiev regime also talked about negotiations and peace. However, it later turned out that they did not need peace; they were only seeking a respite to regroup their troops.

Russian missile strike kills British and French troops
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military blogger Andrey Chervonets

"Instructor" - became a designer. Collect and take away

Retired Spanish Army Colonel Pedro Banos reported that, according to his information, at least 18 members of the British Special Air Service (these are parts of the British special forces) were killed as a result of the attack on Odessa, as well as soldiers of the French army, "who were killed in large numbers."

Banos especially emphasized that this is not about French mercenaries, but about "soldiers of the French army", career soldiers. In addition, another 25 members of the British special forces were wounded. Considering the total number of British SAS about three thousand people, for them (18 + 25 people) these are huge losses.

According to the colonel, this information was received from very reliable sources, known for their knowledge for about 30 years.

As the information resource "Condottiero" adds, after this information was announced in the Western press, the British demanded that Zelensky ensure the protection of all representatives of the "foreign corps of advisers" in Ukraine. Although it is not clear what the West is outraged about. The security issue is solved very simply. All the "white gentlemen" simply get out of Ukraine to their countries and only in this case their asses will remain intact.

P.S.
The fact that NATO is fighting Russia in Ukraine is no secret to anyone. And this news is just another confirmation of this fact.

Hakeem Jeffries says Republicans “are making up” that Kamala was put in charge of the border, then 6 House Dems vote with Republicans to condemn ‘Czar’ Harris’s border failure

Their lips fell off, too.
Skidmark gives us Fox News’ report:
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., accused Republicans of "making up" the title of "border czar" in reference to Vice President Kamala Harris, just before six members of his House Democratic Caucus voted to criticize her handling of the migrant crisis.

"We have a single legislative item that is on the floor today … it’s a fake and fraudulent resolution cooked up, I think, by one of the representatives from New York — continues to embarrass herself regularly — that lies about the vice president," Jeffries told reporters at his weekly press conference.

"She was never assigned the position of border czar. They're making that up, because the extreme MAGA Republicans are in full meltdown."

Twitchy has lots more receipts.

Government Corruption
Power-hungry descendant of slave owners: skeletons from Kamala Harris' closet
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Trust the Russian to dig up the dirt.

by Malek Dudakov

[REGNUM] A new disposition has emerged in the US presidential election. After Joe Biden's emergency and dramatic replacement in the election race, Kamala Harris is ready to take his place. However, not everyone is enthusiastic about her candidacy.

Harris's very low ratings, her lack of talent to be a worthwhile politician, and, of course, the skeletons in the closet all play a role.

Harris, 59, has a long public career behind her. She served as the San Francisco prosecutor and then as the attorney general for the entire state of California. Having gained some notoriety, Kamala was elected as a senator from California in 2016. And finally, she became Biden’s vice president during the previous election cycle.

At first glance, it may seem that Harris's career has been remarkably successful. However, the devil, as usual, is in the details. Harris has been helped throughout her life by two factors: the race-gender card that she loves to play, that is, the "right" skin color and gender, and the patronage of influential politicians in the Democratic Party.

At the very beginning of her career, Harris was actively assisted by Willie Brown, at that time an influential "fixer" and the mayor of San Francisco. There were many rumors about Harris's "special" ties with Brown. It is known that he helped many girls who were close to him to rise. It was thanks to her acquaintance with Brown that Harris was placed in the San Francisco prosecutor's office, and then was elected prosecutor herself.

Once Kamala got her hands on power over people, she immediately began to revel in it. Over the years, Harris has been the subject of countless scandals over her attempts to put innocent people in prison. Her office has been repeatedly caught falsifying evidence or concealing facts about the defendants' innocence from the defense, which is a gross violation of the law.

A separate story is the crazy legal initiatives of the current vice president. For example, she led a campaign to jail parents of students who skip school. Ultimately, however, this initiative was killed in San Francisco. But Harris's career, despite all the scandals, was on the rise. And in 2019, already a senator, she applied for the Democratic presidential primaries.

At one point, it seemed that Harris might even have a chance to win. At the very first debate, she literally tore Biden apart, calling him a racist and a segregationist. The thing is, as a child, Harris was bused to schools far from home that were desegregated. This procedure was called “busing” in America in the 1970s. And Biden, already a senator from Delaware, spoke out against “busing.”

However, Harris quickly fell out of favor with the Democratic electorate. She ended her campaign in early 2020 with a 2% rating, without even waiting for the first states to vote in the primaries. But ironically, it was she who was chosen as his vice-presidential running mate by Biden, the very same person she called a racist.

And in this case, the racial and gender factor helped her again, although even then, Harris’s figure raised many questions among Democrats. 2020 passed under the shadow of BLM speeches, and she was accused of putting many black people in prison for marijuana possession as a prosecutor.

Then, however, the agenda changed, and “progressive” justice became fashionable. Harris immediately changed her tune, supporting the practice of reducing the police, which led to an unprecedented rise in crime in the United States.

There were also questions about her origins. On her mother's side she was Indian, and on her father's side, contrary to the legends that still circulated, she was not a descendant of slaves. Her ancestors were one of the largest slave-owning families in Jamaica; an entire town on the island was named after them - Brown Town. Her great-grandfather Harris Hamilton Brown owned no fewer than 200 souls.

The question remains: did Harris really help Biden in the presidential race? She was supposed to consolidate the ethnic minority electorate around him, but Donald Trump then received a record share of both Hispanic and black votes for the Republicans.

As vice president, Harris faced real challenges for the first time in her life. She was immediately tasked with resolving the immigration crisis at the southern border of the United States, but she was not interested in it, and she clearly lacked talent. So she let the situation slide, which very quickly led to a collapse in ratings.

Harris's international tours didn't end much better. She was constantly blurting out inappropriate things, confusing the names of countries (like North and South Korea), or laughing when answering difficult questions she didn't know the answers to. It's no surprise that by 2023, Harris topped the list of the most unpopular vice presidents in US history.

Harris' failures were one of the reasons why Biden went for a second term. However, in the end, the Democrats replaced him with her. Again, she was elected not for her talents or successes, which she does not have, but for the "right" racial and gender set.

No one would risk taking the seat away from a black woman, because they would immediately be accused of racism and sexism. And Harris herself, after so many years of humiliation as vice president, would flatly refuse to give up her place in line for the presidential chair.

There will be no new primaries, of course; Harris will simply be crowned at the party convention in August. The 14 million Democratic voters who voted for Biden this spring will be spit in the face.

The Democratic Party has carefully designed the primaries since the 1970s to make the candidate selection system look democratic—and they ended up destroying that system by knocking Biden out of the race.

Now it will be much more difficult for them to present Trump as an “enemy of American democracy,” because he may ask a fair question in response: did anyone choose Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate, other than party bigwigs and behind-the-scenes players?

The decision to change horses midstream was made by influential Democratic clans - Barack Obama, the Clintons and others. The latter were the ones who pulled Harris into big politics. And the process of selecting a vice-presidential candidate for Harris is being managed by Obama's personal prosecutor - Eric Holder, who also has a history of corruption and lawbreaking.

Many Democrats, though not all, have reluctantly begun to rally around Harris. They still have faint hopes that a strong vice presidential candidate can help her, although the Democratic coalition remains divided. Some centrist lawmakers refuse to campaign with Harris. Many on the left, like the BLM movement, are once again criticizing her.

Harris's political strategists will try to emphasize the contrast with Trump. One is older, the other is younger, one is a prosecutor, the other was found guilty in a criminal case. Republicans point to the obvious illegitimacy of Harris's nomination and all her failures as vice president. As well as her support in the past for very unpopular measures, from the green agenda and the refusal to extract hydrocarbons to opening borders for refugees and migrants.

Harris will likely have a brief, successful honeymoon in August, with her poll numbers rising, ahead of the convention. But she will have a tough time competing with Trump in September and October.

Recent polls show his support among Hispanics and blacks once again at record levels. It would be ironic if, with Harris at the helm, Democrats find themselves in the midst of a disintegration of their already very shaky minority coalition.

Zaporizhzhya direction: positional combat operations near Malaya Tokmachka and Rabotino

- After the spring campaign and the return of Rabotino to the control of Russian forces, the military actions in the Zaporizhzhya direction acquired a more pronounced positional character. Both sides refrain from conducting active offensive actions, limiting themselves to local attacks in order to improve the tactical situation in certain areas.

– South of Malaya Tokmachka, the Russian Armed Forces have expanded their zone of control, dislodging the enemy from their positions in the area of the N-08 highway. In early July, the enemy published footage of an unsuccessful attack by Russian troops in this area, but, apparently, the attack aircraft managed to gain a foothold, despite active resistance from Ukrainian formations. Ukrainian UAV operators are actively targeting Russian infantry entrenched in forest belts, but to no avail.

– In the Rabotino area, Ukrainian units are regularly subjected to attacks using drones, artillery and aviation. In the last week alone, at least six airstrikes are known to have been carried out on enemy personnel concentrations in forest belts north of the settlement, using various types of ammunition.

– It is worth noting that this trend has emerged not so long ago: until the last two weeks, the Russian Armed Forces limited themselves to artillery and UAV strikes on identified Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in this area. The enemy is trying to neutralize the advantage of Russian troops in artillery and aviation with the help of drones, using them in a wide range of tasks.

– In early July, it was possible to clarify the front line south of Pyatikhatki, the fighting around which continued throughout the summer of 2023. Apparently, the enemy's current positions extend beyond the previously established lines, while the Russian Armed Forces operate with support from Zherebyanka to the west. Information and video materials from this section of the front are rare, which creates a certain delay in updating the combat situation.

In addition, the troops advanced two km west of Progress and reached the southern outskirts of Ivanovka. Meanwhile, Russian troops continue to increase the zone of control around the settlement of Lozovatskoye from the north and south.

– The situation west of Donetsk: Over the past five days, the Russian army has been advancing northwest of Krasnogorovka, which has greatly complicated the situation of the Ukrainian army in the central part of the city.

– The situation on the Zaporizhzhya Front: The Russian army continues to advance southwest of Novopokrovka.

In addition, two unmanned boats heading towards the Crimean Peninsula were destroyed by fire weapons on duty in the Black Sea.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: July 25, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 22:09 Beijing will not side with Ukraine or Russia in the current war, since China will only side with China, Kuleba said in an interview with TSN following his visit to China: "Those who believe that China will side with Russia or Ukraine are deeply mistaken and are looking too superficially at China's strategic vision of the development of the situation in the world, not only in Ukraine."

The minister also claims that "the position on supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine is unshakable for the PRC." According to Kuleba, the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized during the meeting that Ukraine needs "a fair and lasting peace."

21:27 The Russian X-101 missile that struck the Okhmatdet children's hospital in Kiev contained an American chip, The New York Times writes, citing the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption of Ukraine. In particular, the missile used a Field Programmable Gate Array manufactured by American companies Intel or AMD. The publication notes that since the beginning of the war, Russia has imported such chips for $390 million. Such chips are used in alarms, missiles, and UAVs for fast data processing.

20:39 The Ukrainian defense industry is becoming "completely different - stronger, more efficient," Zelensky said in an evening video address. The president emphasized that "foreign funds have finally begun to work in defense production in a real and noticeable way - not only state budget funds, but also investments by partners in defense production in Ukraine."

"Today we have decided on updated tasks with Ukroboronprom and our missilemen. In many areas, we not only have potential or some specific results, but also supplies for the performance of tasks by the Defense and Security Forces - growing supplies. Plus, we are preparing steps for our long-range drones to achieve greater quantity and higher quality," the president added.

19:31 Russians have struck the village of Pristin in the Kupyansk community of the Kharkiv region, three people were wounded, reported the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov. Two more people were injured as a result of Russian shelling of the village of Russkaya Lozovaya in the Kharkiv region.

19:17 Russian troops attacked a vehicle carrying humanitarian aid in Kindeyka, Kherson region, the driver was wounded, OVA reported. Another person was wounded as a result of another Russian shelling of Kherson.

19:03 Trump said that in his recent conversation with Zelensky, he told him that "we have to end this war." "You're up against a war machine. That's what they do - they fight wars. They beat Hitler. They beat Napoleon. But the spring offensive never happened. And I said the Russians have millions of mines and thousands of army tanks. I said we have to end this war. A lot of Russians have been killed, but a lot of Ukrainians have been killed. It's a total mess. It shouldn't have happened," Trump stressed, adding that "Biden shouldn't have allowed this."

"It was easy to stop. President Putin would never have done that for two reasons. Number one, oil prices were low under me. I kept them low. I kept gasoline prices low. As soon as the new government came in, oil went up to almost $100 a barrel, which is twice what it should have been, and suddenly Russia had huge amounts of money that they didn't have. And then I think one of the reasons Putin did that is because he saw Afghanistan, how we got out of it. Putin saw that, President Xi of China saw that - strong guys, strong people," Trump said.

18:36 During his visit to Hong Kong, Kuleba met with the head of the administration John Lee and called for closing the path for Russia to bypass sanctions. The parties also discussed new opportunities for trade and investment in the context of Ukraine's recovery.

18:00 In the morning, the Russian army used the FAB-1500 for the first time in Kupyansk-Uzlovaya in the Kharkiv region - as a result of the airstrike, one person was wounded, said the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov.

17:41 Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that the discussion on the return to Ukraine of those who evade military service is being conducted at the EU level. "Here we can set such conditions for the stay of Ukrainians in the EU that will stimulate them to fulfill their obligations to defend their homeland," he added.

17:23 A project to exchange collaborators for captured Ukrainians has been launched in Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reported. The state project is called I Want to Return to My Own and should facilitate the return of Ukrainians from Russian captivity. The first and main goal of the project is to make public information about convicted Russian agents, traitors, and collaborators who collaborated or assisted Russian occupation forces in the war against Ukraine. The information will be published on the project's website, where, through the "consent to exchange" option, convicted collaborators will be able to agree to be exchanged for Ukrainians in Russian captivity.

Thanks to the project, it will also be possible to learn about the possibility of ending forced cooperation with the enemy and how to inform law enforcement about enemy agents in your environment.

16:52 Russia is preparing an offensive on Hulyaipole in the Zaporizhia region, Bild writes, citing sources among the Ukrainian military. According to them, the Russians are currently concentrating near the city of Polohy in order to attack Hulyaipole from there. Meanwhile, a Bild source in Western military circles reports that Ukraine, thanks to the current mobilization, intends to begin local counterattacks as early as this fall. According to him, Kiev presented such a plan to its allies on the eve of the NATO summit in Washington.

16:27 The new commander of the British army, Roly Walker, believes that Russia may need five years to completely capture the four regions of Ukraine that it is laying claim to - Kherson, Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Luhansk. In doing so, the Russian army will lose more than 1.5 million people. "Russia should have more concerns than losing the best part of 1.5 to 1.8 million people for a piece of Ukraine," Walker said. At the same time, he added that for Ukraine, the big question is whether it will be able to continue to defend itself given the current course of events on the battlefield.

15:59 British intelligence believes that Ukrainian attacks on the port of Kavkaz could force Russia to return to the risky transportation of fuel via the Kerch Bridge.

14:45 Czech President Petr Pavel called for Russia and China to be involved in peace talks on Ukraine. Particularly important, according to him, is China's participation as a "major global player" that can influence Moscow. If Beijing refuses to negotiate, Russia "will not feel an internal need to act" and "will try to gain advantages for itself," Pavel believes. At the same time, he stressed that the negotiations will be meaningless if Moscow continues to put forward conditions for Ukraine's capitulation.

Pavel also expects "a certain shift" in the war in Ukraine in late 2024 or early 2025 due to elections around the world, including in the US, and "war fatigue that is reflected on both sides."

Europe
'Safe Terrorist': Elderly Marxist jailed for 'drill and drill bits'
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Vladimir Dobrynin

[REGNUM] A Spanish court has sentenced 76-year-old Spanish citizen Pompeyo González Pascual to 18 years in prison for sending letter bombs to the Spanish Prime Minister and the US and Ukrainian embassies in November 2022.

According to the local press, Pompeyo opposed Western support for Ukraine after Russia launched the SVO. And he found no other way to demonstrate his disagreement with the "united view of all of Europe" on this issue than by threatening some officials in Spain and other countries.

Spain's highest criminal court, the Audiencia Nacional, found him guilty of terrorism and manufacturing explosives.

The indictment, excerpts from which are cited by the online publication Infobae, states that “the former employee of the mayor’s office of the Basque city of Vitoria, now a pensioner, expressed his disagreement with support for Ukraine by sending envelopes by mail containing substances that could explode when opened by the recipient.”

Letter bombs containing improvised explosive devices were sent to Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Defense Minister Margarita Robles, and the US and Ukrainian embassies. The recipients also included a Spanish arms company that produces grenades, a batch of which was donated to Ukraine, and the main Spanish air force base in Torrejon.

Only one of the parcels caused harm to the recipient - a worker of the Ukrainian embassy received minor injuries when opening it. Moreover, the information about this case was contradictory. Some publications claimed that someone from the embassy decided to open an envelope on the territory of the garden that had not been scanned for dangerous contents. Others - that the postal item was carefully opened by a security guard, but something went wrong and an explosion occurred.

However, "explosion" is too strong a word. As it turned out a little later, something clicked in the envelope, a spark flew and the parcel caught fire. After the incident, the guard was taken to a medical facility, where they treated the cut on his finger and covered it with a bandage.

All other recipients were either smarter than the Ukrainian diplomats or less curious and entrusted the opening of the "gifts" received by mail to engineers and sappers. The professionals did not have anything click or catch fire. And, of course, there were no injuries to arms, legs or anything else.

The Ukrainian ambassador to Madrid, Serhiy Pogoreltsev, immediately declared the existence of a "Russian trace". And he was the only one who came up with such a crazy idea. The other addressees stated that the Spanish law enforcement officers should identify the perpetrators.

Spanish investigators figured out the author-producer of the dangerous mail quite quickly. The press was unable to find out the details of the search, but law enforcement officers generously shared information with journalists that left no doubt that the villain would not escape the punishing hand of the law.

During a search of Pompeyo González Pascual's apartment, operatives found a drill, bits, metal plates, screws and nuts - everything needed to make small containers filled with explosives and shot.

In addition, specialists from the biochemical laboratory established that the almost invisible grease stains found on the surface of the cardboard envelopes have the same DNA structure as the skin samples of the retired bomber, who, in addition to all his shortcomings, turned out to be a fan of the Basque terrorist organization ETA and a hardened Marxist (a copy of Capital was found on his bookshelf). He was also an admirer of Dolores Ibárruri (leader of the Communist Party of Spain from 1942 to 1989) and, of course, a member of the Communist Party.

This entire body of evidence allowed Spanish investigators to charge the elderly ex-communist with terrorism and making homemade bombs. However, the Basque pensioner was considered surprisingly safe as a terrorist, because before the trial he was left to walk around on his own recognizance, and not placed in a cell or even under house arrest.

A court this week sentenced Gonzalez Pascual to 18 years in prison - 10 years for terrorism and another eight for making homemade explosive devices.

The convicted man did not plead guilty. And during the hearing he said that "he bought the envelopes (30 pieces) on Amazon, wanted to use them to send letters to friends with congratulations, but had to throw away what he bought, because the material from which the envelopes were made turned out to be too hard and thick, unsuitable for letters." It is therefore not surprising that the discarded cardboard boxes had traces of the pensioner's hands.

The person who later, obviously, found these envelopes in the garbage container could do with them as he pleased. Maybe even stuff them with TNT. There are not as few people in Spain who like to rummage through garbage cans as you might think.

As for the drill and bits found on him, according to Pascual, this is the same as considering a person who has knives for cutting bread or butchering meat in the kitchen to be a potential murderer.

Judging by the way the crime and punishment of the 76-year-old bomber are presented in the Spanish press, both the evidence of guilt and González Pascual's explanations appear, to put it cautiously, not solid enough.

But the most interesting thing about this story is that not a single Spanish publication rushed to trumpet that since an employee of the Ukrainian embassy was injured, then “it’s Putin’s fault.”

In general, it should be said that the press in Spain, as well as in other EU countries, does not favor Russia and uses any slightest excuse to demonize the Kremlin. But in the described case, for some reason, this did not happen. Perhaps because it would have looked completely comical.

Spaniards are increasingly pointing out in their comments under articles in the press that they are being presented with the opinion of only one side, while they would like to see both points of view and independently understand who is right and who is wrong in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

And so the call of the head of the Ukrainian MFA Dmytro Kuleba to the embassies of all countries in Madrid to "increase security measures" was received with understanding, but without unnecessary fuss. And no one came out to demonstrate under anti-Russian slogans in Madrid's Plaza Cibeles.

Even after Kuleba added that those responsible “will not succeed in intimidating Ukrainian diplomats or stopping their daily work to strengthen Ukraine.”

As for the fairness or unfairness of the sentence for Dolores Ibarruri's fan, this will be decided by higher courts, where the convicted man's lawyers will send their appeals.

[GatewayPundit] Pentagon Looks to Rescind 20 Medal of Honor Awards Given to Soldiers in the 1890s

Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III has ordered the Department of Defense to review the Medal of Honor awarded to 20 soldiers for their actions in the Wounded Knee Massacre that took place in 1890.

Austin wrote in a memo, "The [special review panel] may consider the context of the overall engagement as appropriate, including as necessary to understand each [Wounded Knee Creek Medal of Honor] recipient’s individual actions."

In a separate statement, a senior defense official shared, "It’s never too late to do what's right."
Because he is a pompous racist DEI black man and the soldiers were white.

On December 29, 1890, the 7th U.S. Calvary Regiment arrested members of the Lakota tribe for violating a government ban on a Native American spiritual ritual called "Ghost Dancing."

Once arrested, soldiers held them at a camp near Wounded Knee Creek in South Dakota.

As soldiers attempted to disarm members of the Lakota Tribe, a gun was accidentally discharged, and U.S. soldiers opened fire.

A battle quickly ensued, resulting in more than 250 Lakota tribe members being killed.

Twenty-five U.S. soldiers were also killed in the engagement.
It would be terribly cynical to ask what they are trying to distract us from.

#1  ....IMHO - YMMV, of course - this is something I've believed is at least justifiable for many, many years.

Wounded Knee was not a battle by any reasonably accepted definition of the word. It was a brutal, lopsided curbstomping conducted by men whose unit history more than motivated them to do it; and justified after the fact by Army leadership that was still embarrassed and angered by Little Big Horn.

To be clear - there was no way that Wounded Knee was going to end in anything other than Lakota dead. But the fight didn't require 290 dead.

And only ninety of them armed combatants.

20 CMOH? No.

Ed in texas,

Indeed - and there were also charges that he'd flat-out murdered a couple of recaptured deserters. Had it been anybody else besides Custer, they would have at best thrown him out and at worst locked him up and thrown away the key.

Cuban Defense Ministry: Russian ships to visit Havana port from July 27 to 30
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Ships of the Russian Baltic Fleet will enter the port of Havana on July 27, the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba reported on Facebook (owned by the Meta company, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

“Ships of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation will arrive at the port of Havana, including the training ship Smolny, the patrol frigate Neustrashimy and the tanker Yelnya,” the department said.

They added that the ships will stay in the capital's port on a working visit from July 27 to 30. During this time, the Russian sailors will meet with the head of the Cuban Navy, the authorities of Havana, and see the city's sights. Local residents will be able to board the Smolny ship on July 28 and 29, the Defense Ministry noted.
meet with the head of the Cuban Navy aboard the official '57 Chevy on pontoons
As reported by Regnum News Agency, on June 12, the frigate Admiral Gorshkov, the nuclear submarine Kazan, the tanker Akademik Pashin and the rescue tug Nikolai Chiker of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy entered the port of Havana. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, the visit took place within the framework of international cooperation. On June 11, the submarine Kazan and the frigate Admiral Gorshkov practiced the use of high-precision missile weapons in the Atlantic during exercises.

The arrival of Russian Northern Fleet ships in the port of Havana caused a stir among Cubans. Residents gathered on the embankment in front of the Sierra Maestra pier to watch them. Visitors were allowed on board the Russian military ships.

According to CBS News, the US, for its part, sent its naval ships to spy on the Russian ships' visit to Cuba. British defence expert Ian Ballantyne called the Russian submarine in Cuba a "threatening" signal to the West. The expert noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to use his fleet as a powerful global political and military instrument.

On June 14, the US Navy attack submarine USS Helena entered the US naval base in Guantanamo, Cuba. In turn, former US President Donald Trump considered the arrival of Russian Navy ships in Cuba unthinkable.

The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, noted that such visits, like Russian exercises in different regions of the world, are normal practice, and therefore there is no reason for concern.

Gov Newsom orders homeless encampments torn down across California: 'No more excuses'
Guess who expects to be Kamala's vice prez nominee?
[FOXNEWS] Gov. Gavin can't be Bee'd Newsom
...mayor of San Franciscoas it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of Californiaas it transforms itself into Cinderland...
is ordering Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, officials to dismantle homeless encampments across the state via an executive order.

Newsom announced the initiative on Thursday, with his office stating that the governor has ordered "state agencies and departments to adopt clear policies that urgently address homeless encampments while respecting the dignity and well-being of all Californians."

"This executive order directs state agencies to move urgently to address dangerous encampments while supporting and assisting the individuals living in them — and provides guidance for cities and counties to do the same," Newsom said in a statement.

#7  The governor claims that this initiative was spurred by the Supreme Court's decision in Grants Pass v. Johnson last month, which found laws restricting sleeping in public areas did not violate the constitutional restriction against "cruel and unusual punishment."

Newsom could have appealed that lower court ruling with the full weight and legal representation of the state of California a long, long time ago but he did nothing. It was up to little Grants Pass, Oregon, population 39,000, to appeal an obviously flawed lower court ruling and that was fine with Newsom. He and his developer buddies have made fortunes building so-called "affordable housing" for the homeless at half a million bucks a pop. The total cost for California taxpayers has been $24 billion and Newsom will NOT allow an audit to determine how all that money has been spent. And all the while the number of "people experiencing homelessness" grew, proving how ineffective a governor Newsom has been. How many people died on California's sidewalks, freeway underpasses and river beds due to Newsom's neglect? We'll never know. How many businesses had to close because the hobos were sleeping in their doorways and shoplifting with impunity? Who knows? Harris would be a fool to tap this sleazoid for veep but then, that would not surprise me. They're both cut from the same cloth.

Israeli forces retrieve bodies of five hostages from Gaza, says military
[GEO.TV] Israeli forces recovered on Wednesday the bodies of five hostages killed in Hamas' October 7 attack and held in Gaza since, the Israeli military said.

Four of the hostages, killed in combat during the October 7 attack, were two reserve soldiers and two conscript soldiers, the military said.

Maya Goren, a 56-year-old kindergarden teacher, was also killed during the attack on her kibbutz, Nir Oz, according to Israeli Army Radio, one of the communities worst hit in the deadly attack in southern Israel.
Courtesy of Skidmark, the Times of Israel has considerably more:
[IsraelTimes] IDF had adjusted zone in Khan Younis, ordering civilians to evacuate area where tunnel found; soldier dies, 2 others badly hurt in Gaza, apparently after inhaling toxic fumes

The bodies of five Israelis killed and taken hostage by terrorists on October 7, and brought back to Israel in a special operation on Wednesday, were recovered from a tunnel located in the Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in the southern Gaza Strip, the military said Thursday.

The Israel Defense Forces adjusted the zone ahead of the operation in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis and ordered Palestinian civilians in part of it, where the tunnel was located, to temporarily evacuate.

In the operation on Wednesday, the bodies of Ravid Katz, 51, Oren Goldin, 33, Maya Goren, 56, Sgt. Kiril Brodski, 19, and Staff Sgt. Tomer Yaakov Ahimas, 20, were recovered by IDF special forces and members of the Shin Bet security agency.

All five were previously declared dead by the IDF. They were all killed on October 7 and their bodies were dragged into Gaza by Hamas-led terrorists.

The IDF said that in recent weeks it obtained intelligence, including from Shin Bet interrogations of detained terrorists in Gaza, on the location of the tunnel where Hamas was holding the bodies of the hostages.

The tunnel was 200 meters long and about 20 meters deep and featured several rooms, according to the military. It took combat engineers several hours to dig down to reach the tunnel.

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari in a press conference said the “complex” operation to recover the bodies took place in “the heart of Khan Younis,” where the military had operated and withdrawn from earlier this year.

“The troops raided the area and reached an underground site based on accurate intelligence, from several sources… where they found the five hostages hidden behind a wall in the tunnel,” Hagari said.

To enable the operation, the IDF’s 98th Division launched a new offensive in Khan Younis earlier this week. Hagari said the troops have killed numerous terror operatives amid the offensive so far.

The bodies of the hostages were brought back to Israel on Wednesday afternoon and taken to be identified. Once they were identified, the families of the hostages were notified.

There are now thought to be 111 hostages in Gaza, including the remains of 39 confirmed dead by the IDF, out of the 251 people abducted during the Hamas onslaught nearly 300 days ago.

Brodski and Ahimas were killed while serving in the forward command team of Col. Asaf Hamami, the commander of the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade, who was also killed on October 7 as they tried to fight off dozens of Hamas terrorists invading Kibbutz Nirim. The bodies of all three were abducted to Gaza, where Hamami’s remains are believed to still be.

Goldin, who ran Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak’s mechanic shop, was among the first members of the community’s civilian defense team to respond to the attack. He was killed in the fighting and his body was taken to Gaza.

Goren, from Nir Oz, was setting up the kibbutz’s kindergarten on the morning of October 7 when the Hamas attack erupted and she was snatched by the terrorists. Her husband, Avner, also 56, was murdered inside the couple’s home during the attack.

Katz was a member of the Kibbutz Nir Oz security team, who battled the terrorists on October 7, before being killed and his body abducted.

Troops operating in Gaza have managed so far to rescue seven hostages alive, along with the remains of 24 other captives, including the five recovered Wednesday and three abductees mistakenly killed by the military as they tried to escape their captors.

HAMAS ROCKETS KILL TWO PALESTINIAN CIVILIANS
Rockets launched by Hamas on Wednesday from the Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in the Gaza Strip struck a United Nations-run school in Khan Younis, killing and wounding Palestinians, the IDF said.

According to the IDF, it received reports from international aid organizations that two civilians were killed and several more were wounded after the rockets struck UNRWA’s Al-Qarara school.

The IDF said the rockets were fired by Hamas from the humanitarian zone, but failed to cross the border into Israel, falling short on the school in Khan Younis.

In a move coordinated by COGAT and the World Health Organization, the wounded Palestinians were taken to a field hospital run by the International Medical Corps in central Gaza’s Deir al-Balah, the IDF added.

More than 60 targets were struck by Israeli Air Force fighter jets, attack helicopters and drones in the Gaza Strip over the past day, the military said earlier Wednesday, as ground troops continued operations in Khan Younis, Rafah, and the Netzarim Corridor area.

In Khan Younis, the IDF said troops with the 98th Division killed numerous gunmen and destroyed some 50 sites belonging to terror groups over the past day.

SOLDIER DIES APPARENTLY AFTER INHALING TOXIC FUMES IN GAZA
A soldier died and two more were seriously hurt overnight in a non-combat incident in the southern Gaza Strip that is under Military Police investigation, the IDF announced Thursday.

The soldier was named as Staff Sgt. Noam Douek, 19, of the 401st Armored Brigade’s 9th Battalion, from Kiryat Motzkin. Two more soldiers of the 9th Battalion were listed in serious condition.

The military suspected that Douek was killed and the other soldiers were hurt by toxic fumes from a generator in the room they were sleeping in overnight.

Further details were under investigation by the Military Police.

Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the Strip stands at 329. The toll includes a police officer killed in a hostage rescue mission and a Defense Ministry civilian contractor.

"Both groups belong to the family of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti," he added.

Lanjar said that no one is above the law, adding that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the writ of law.

Nikita Zhuravel refuses to appeal his verdict
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The deadline for filing an appeal in the case of Nikita Zhuravel has expired, and he did not appeal the verdict, his lawyer said.

As the "Caucasian Knot" reported, Nikita Zhuravel, a Volgograd resident convicted of burning the Koran, remained in the Grozny pretrial detention center after the sentence came into effect, where he is serving his sentence and working in the utility block, the lawyer reported. The Criminal Executive Code provides for such a possibility in "exceptional cases." On February 27, a court in Grozny sentenced Nikita Zhuravel to 3.5 years in prison, finding him guilty of violating the right to religion and hooliganism. The defense then said that it would appeal the sentence.

The appellate court may review Nikita Zhuravel's sentence if it is confirmed that he burned not the Koran, but a translation of the Koran's meanings, but in the case of deliberate insult to the feelings of believers, a change in the sentence is unlikely, experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" indicated. Although the time spent in the pre-trial detention center will be deducted from the sentence, Zhuravel will always be at risk of attack by followers of the religion in the colony, readers of the "Caucasian Knot" noted in the comments.
Were those merely observations,or outright threats?
Earlier, Justice Minister Konstantin Chuychenko proposed sending Zhuravel to a penal colony in a region with a predominance of Muslims after the verdict. On June 13, 2023, Vladimir Putin announced that Zhuravel would serve his sentence in one of the Muslim regions.

Nikita Zhuravel, sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for burning the Koran near a mosque in Volgograd, agreed with the sentence and did not appeal it, TASS reported today, citing a representative of the legal community.

"The sentence [against Zhuravel] has entered into legal force. He is indeed serving his sentence in the Grozny pretrial detention center. The sentence was not appealed, he agreed with the sentence," the agency quoted the lawyer as saying.

Sinaloa Cartel co-founder ‘El Mayo' taken into US custody
[FoxNews] Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada Garcia co-founded the Sinaloa Cartel with Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman

The Mexican drug kingpin Ismael Zambada Garcia, also known as "El Mayo," who co-founded the notorious Sinaloa drug cartel was taken into custody in El Paso, Texas on Thursday, according to the Department of Justice.

Also taken into custody was Juaquin Guzman Lopez, the son of the cartel's other co-founder, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.

"The Justice Department has taken into custody two additional alleged leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most violent and powerful drug trafficking organizations in the world," U.S. Attorney General Merick B. Garland said. "Ismael Zambada Garcia, or ‘El Mayo,’ cofounder of the Cartel, and Joaquin Guzman Lopez, a son of its other cofounder, were arrested today in El Paso, Texas."
Were they, perchance, in America illegally?
Zambada Garcia and now-jailed drug lord "El Chapo" founded the Sinaloa Cartel.

A federal law enforcement source told Fox News Joaquin Guzman Lopez surrendered to U.S. authorities, but El Mayo was captured. Guzman Lopez cut a deal with U.S. authorities, and turned on El Mayo, the source explained.

Guzman Lopez got on a private airplane with El Mayo and instead of heading south to Mexico like El Mayo thought, the plane went north to El Paso where the two were taken into custody.

"El Mayo," who the Department of Justice was offering a $15 million reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction, now faces a litany of indictments for crimes related to drug trafficking and organized crime in the United States.

"El Mayo and Guzman Lopez join a growing list of Sinaloa Cartel leaders and associates who the Justice Department is holding accountable in the United States. That includes the Cartel’s other cofounder, Joaquin Guzman Loera, or ‘El Chapo’; another of El Chapo’s sons and an alleged Cartel leader, Ovidio Guzman Lopez; and the Cartel’s alleged lead sicario, Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas, or 'El Nini.'" Garland said.

Africa North
Why wave of extremism and crime may be West Africa's ticking bomb
[ARABNEWS] A senior UN official delivered earlier this month a stark warning that terrorism and organized crime by violent mostly peaceful krazed killer groups linked to al-Qaeda and ISIS are escalating into a pervasive threat across West Africa and the Sahel region
... North Africa's answer to the Pak tribal areas...
.
Or Chicago.
This menace is now spilling over into West Africa’s coastal countries, suggesting that the world might be waking up too late to the unfolding crisis.

The statements by Leonardo Simao, the UN special representative for the Sahel and West Africa, highlighted a surge in illegal trafficking in drugs, weapons, mineral resources, human beings, and even food.

The first half of 2024 alone has seen hundreds of people killed in terrorist attacks, reflecting a dramatic escalation in violence.

These developments underscore the complex and multifaceted nature of the challenge. The intertwining of terrorism with organized crime networks has created a volatile environment where insecurity is the norm.

"This instability is significant also for the international community. As krazed killer groups tighten their grip, the humanitarian, economic and political fallout threatens to reverberate far beyond Africa’s borders," Moustapha Saleh, a Chadian security expert, told Arab News.

The situation is further exacerbated by recent political upheavals. G5 Sahel, a French-backed alliance intended to coordinate security and development issues in West Africa, collapsed last year after the exit of the military-junta-run nations of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president used to be Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and was chased out in 2014. Now it's the usual army officer type guy, Captain Ibrahim Traore, running things, who's just doing a bang-up job unless he's already been deposed...
This prompted the US and other Western countries to assist Ghana and neighboring coastal West African nations in bolstering their defenses. Although Ghana has not yet faced direct holy warrior violence, Togo, Benin
...Benin, a French-speaking West African nation, that they put where Dahomey used to be. It is a birthplace of voodoo and zombies. In Abomey, Dahomey's former capital, the Historical Museum occupies two royal palaces with bas-reliefs recounting the kingdom’s past and a throne mounted on human skulls. To the north, Pendjari National Park offers safaris with elephants, hippos and lions and tigers and bears, oh my!...
, and Ivory Coast have suffered attacks near their borders in recent years, illustrating the growing threat of regional instability.

Still, aid for West Africa has been lacking compared with assistance offered to Ukraine, Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said in a recent interview.

US aid to Ukraine since the Russian invasion has climbed to $113 billion. In contrast, the combined assistance from the EU, the UK and the US to the Economic Community of West African States, the bloc known as ECOWAS, has amounted to a relatively tiny $29.6 million over the same period.

Iran releases cargo of oil tanker St. Nikolas, shipping source says
[ARABNEWS] Iran

has released the oil cargo of a Greek-owned, Marshall-Islands-flagged tanker it seized in the Gulf of Oman earlier this year, a shipping source told Rooters on Thursday.

The vessel, M/T St. Nikolas, is still being held by Iran, the source added. It was laden with 1 million barrels of Iraqi crude oil destined for Turkiye when it was seized.

"The cargo was released earlier this week after negotiations," the source said.

The cargo was transferred onto the Turkiye-flagged tanker T. Semahat earlier this week via a ship-to-ship transfer near Iran’s Larak Island, said Claire Jungman, chief of staff at US advocacy group United Against Nuclear Iran, which tracks Iran-related tanker traffic via satellite data.

T.Semahat’s Turkiye-based operator Ditas, which is majority-owned by Ottoman Turkish refiner Tupras, was not immediately available for comment.
"I can say no more!"
The vessel had the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates as its destination and was sailing away from Iran on Thursday, LSEG shipping data showed.

LSEG data also showed T.Semahat had reached Larak Island earlier on July 21 and left that area close to being fully loaded with oil.

Iran seized the tanker in January in retaliation for the confiscation last year of the same vessel and its oil by the US, Iranian state media had reported at the time.

'Guardian angel' theory links Trump's assassination attempt to UFOs
For some people, reality just isn’t real enough.
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Conspiracy theorists are pushing the idea that aliens made an appearance at the attempted liquidation of former President Donald Trump
...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania...
Footage from the Pennsylvania rally on July 13 appeared to capture unidentified flying objects (UFOs) soaring through the skies.

A disc-like object whizzed in the background of an American flag blowing in the wind shortly before bullets were fired and another appeared like an orb as the Secret Service stormed the stage.

Some social media users have proclaimed the UFOs as 'guardian angels' who protected Trump from the bullets, which the former president corroborated in saying, 'God saved me' days after the rally.

A conventional explanation would be that the objects were drones surveilling the area, but some reports have claimed there 'were no Secret Service drones flying at the time.'
Thomas Matthew Crooks flew a drone around the site a few hours before the rally. Why not others?

US State Department announces readiness to discuss arms control with Russia
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The United States of America is ready to discuss issues in the field of arms control with Russia, said Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Deterrence, and Stability Mallory Stewart, speaking at a thematic discussion of the Carnegie Endowment (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent; an organization recognized in the Russian Federation as undesirable).

"We need to maintain this dialogue. The American side adheres to the position of the need to continue to reduce risks and work in the area of arms control," she said, commenting on plans to deploy American missiles in Germany in 2026.

The United States also has an interest in preventing a global arms race by continuing dialogue with both Russia and China, Stewart said.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 10, the Pentagon announced that in 2026 the United States will begin to deploy long-range strike systems on German territory, including hypersonic weapons and SM-6 and Tomahawk systems.

According to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the deployment of American missiles on the country's territory will allegedly become a deterrent and will not lead to an escalation of tensions in relations with the Russian Federation.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Ryabkov emphasized that Russia would respond by abandoning the moratorium on the deployment of intermediate- and shorter-range missiles (INF) if the US authorities deployed these systems in any region of the world, including Europe and the Asia-Pacific. He also pointed out that the US plan to deploy long-range strike systems in Europe was destructive. According to him, the Russian side had begun preparing for a response to such decisions in advance.

Two Russian citizens arrested in Germany for collecting money for ISIS terrorists
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Two citizens of the Russian Federation have been arrested in Germany on charges of collecting money for the terrorist group Islamic State. This was reported on July 25 by the German Prosecutor General's Office.

“Today, July 25, 2024, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office arrested Russian citizens Abdulrashid D. and Surkho Z. in the district of the Duchy of Lauenburg and in Hamburg,” the message sent out states.

The arrest was accompanied by searches at sites in Berlin, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Saxony. According to the German investigation, those arrested in early summer 2022 joined a terrorist organization, where they were collecting funds in Germany and other European countries. Donations were collected through social networks and sent to one of the members of the extremist organization.

According to preliminary data, the collected funds were used to finance militants and their wives who are imprisoned in European prisons.

Earlier, Regnum news agency reported that German police prevented a terrorist attack before the final match of the 2024 European Football Championship, which took place on July 15 at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

The raids were carried out just a few hours before the final, the authors noted. According to this information, the attack was supposed to take place on Berlin's Breitscheidplatz square, where a fan zone with thousands of fans was located.

In June, the German prosecutor's office reported the arrest of a man suspected of having links to ISIS (an organization whose activities are banned in Russia). He tried to get a job as a security guard at facilities related to Euro 2024, but failed the background check.

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] A tanker carrying 1.4 million liters of fuel oil under the Philippine flag capsized and sank in Manila Bay. This was reported on July 25 by ABS-CBN News.

The Terra Nova tanker sank seven kilometers off the municipality of Limay in Bataan province with 17 crew members on board.

"We managed to rescue 16 of the 17 crew members, one person is missing," Philippine Transport Minister Jaime Bautista said at a briefing.

An oil slick was found in the waters of Manila Bay at the scene of the incident, and marine conservationists have been mobilized to contain it. Bautista said strong winds and high waves are complicating efforts to eliminate the consequences.

According to Coast Guard officials, an investigation is underway into the circumstances of the ship's sinking, to determine "whether there were any weather anomalies in the surrounding waters at the time the marine incident occurred."

Earlier, Regnum news agency reported on the sinking of the Norwegian fishing vessel Argos Georgia near the Falkland Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, as a result of which three Russians died and another is listed as missing.

On the evening of July 23, it became known that the fishing vessel Argos Georgia sank in the area of the Falkland Islands. As a result of the emergency, several crew members, including Russian citizens, died.

The Spanish agency EFE reported on July 24 that the death toll from the sinking of a fishing vessel near the Falkland Islands had risen to eight people. It was noted that five more crew members of the vessel were missing.

Russians are preparing an offensive in Gulyaipole - media
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] Russian army may launch offensive in Zaporizhia region.

Gulyaipole is an important strategic and logistical point for Ukrainians, sources say.

In the Zaporizhia region, Russian aggressors are concentrating near the occupied city of Polohy in order to advance from there to Hulyaipole. This was reported by the German publication Bild, citing sources, on Thursday, July 25.

"The Russians are now preparing an offensive in the Zaporizhia region and are moving troops to Polohy to strike in the direction of Hulyaipole. Hulyaipole is an important strategic and logistical point for the Ukrainians. If the Russians take it, Ukraine will find itself under massive pressure in the Zaporizhia region," the publication says.

Another source in Western military circles reported that shortly before the NATO summit in Washington, the Alliance's allies were informed by Kyiv about a Ukrainian mobilization plan that could lead to "local counterattacks starting in the fall."

According to the publication, new brigades are already being formed in the Ukrainian Armed Forces for this purpose, brigades are being rotated, and losses are being compensated.

"The West believes that the Russian military may be overwhelmed in the coming months, which could lead to a new turn of events on the battlefield," the source said.

Earlier, the Tavria OSUV stated that the Russians are gradually replenishing their troops in the Zaporizhia region. At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces believe that these forces are insufficient for an offensive in the Zaporizhia direction.

Investigative Committee officers find 47 civilian bodies in Avdeevka
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The bodies of 47 civilians killed in the fighting were found in the city of Avdeevka in the DPR by Russian investigators, Izvestia wrote on July 25.

The head of the forensics department of the regional headquarters of the Investigative Committee specified that during the past period of 2024, investigators conducted 38 inspections of crime scenes. All 47 victims were civilians, and only 24 bodies have been identified so far.

“There are a very large number of requests from people who are looking for their relatives who lived in the Avdeevka area,” said a representative of the Investigative Committee.

He stressed that no appeal is left without attention, genetic material is taken from relatives for identification. To search for bodies, he added, heavy equipment has to be used, since the city is heavily damaged.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, the Ukrainian Armed Forces turned the northern suburb of Donetsk, Avdeevka, into a powerful fortified area and have been shelling peaceful areas of Donetsk from there since 2014. On February 17, 2024, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the liberation of Avdeevka.

Earlier in July, dozens of bodies of dead civilians were found in the basements of houses in Toretsk. Presumably, these people died as a result of the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

He is currently in a pretrial detention center, and will then be handed over to the authorities of Azerbaijan.

According to the Telegram channel Mash, law enforcement officers detained the 37-year-old militant when they stopped him on Michurinsky Prospekt to check his documents. In 2019, a Baku court issued a warrant for the militant's arrest, but he managed to escape to Russia via Kazakhstan.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 15, Federal Security Service (FSB) officers detained two migrants from the Central Asian region in Omsk who had organized a collection of money to buy weapons for militants of the Islamic Katiba Tawhid Wal-Jihad (a terrorist organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation). The detainees regularly transferred money to the accounts of the international terrorist organization.

On July 11, the FSB prevented an armed attack by a member of a terrorist organization banned in Russia on an Orthodox church in Adygea. The detainee turned out to be from one of the countries of the Central Asian region.

Later, the man who was preparing the terrorist attack admitted that he was going to set fire to the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Maykop. He specified that he did this on the instructions of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (a terrorist organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation).

He highlighted that five judges are presiding over the trial to ensure swift justice for the 300 defendants.

The Nigerian government previously announced plans to prosecute 5,000 Boko Haram members captured in the country’s northeastern region. The murderous Moslems are being tried in groups at the federal court.

Since 2009, Boko Haram has been responsible for mass terror attacks in Nigeria, resulting in over 20,000 deaths.

According to Nigerian news, the military have handed over everyone rescued to the Borno State Governor. This rescue was part of an ongoing initiative in the north east called Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK).

FORCIBLY MARRIED TO EIGHT MEN IN 10 YEARS
Ihyi Abdul, now 27 years old, shared in a statement that she walked for days before reaching a military checkpoint, ’where they took me and my children in’. She gave a glimpse into what life inside Boko Haram camps looks like for women: "I married eight men and gave birth to three children for different husbands."

Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna said, "The plight of the remaining Chibok girls still in captivity necessitated the conduct of military operations deep into the terrorists’ enclaves with the aim of facilitating their release. OPHK will continue to do its best to rescue the remaining Chibok girls in line with the strategic guidance of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, and Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Iraq
Rockets launched at US forces stationed at Ain al-Asad airbase in Iraq
[FoxNews] No one was injured in the attack, a U.S. defense official told Fox News

Four rockets struck Thursday near Ain al-Asad airbase in Iraq, which houses U.S. troops, but there were no reported injuries, and there was no damage to the base, Fox News has learned.
That sounds like the shoot-off-and-pray methods of the Shiite paramilitaries who ineffectually fire Iranian rockets at the Yanks on Iranian orders.
A U.S. defense official told Fox News none of the rockets landed inside the base.

The attack comes just days after U.S. and Iraqi officials met at a Pentagon summit to discuss when the coalition against ISIS in Iraq could end and transition to a bilateral security relationship with some U.S. troops likely remaining.

Iraqi factions aligned with Iran have called on all 2,500 U.S. troops that remain in the country to withdraw.

The attack on the airbase also comes just one day after fighter jets intercepted two Russian Tu-95 "Bear" bombers and two Chinese H-6 bombers off the coast of Alaska.

NORAD fighter jets from the United States and Canada conducted the interception.

Iran-backed factions in Iraq have targeted U.S. troops at bases in the country dozens of times since the start of the Israel-Gaza War in October with a slowdown since February.

Death toll reaches 6 in Mexican tequila distillery blast
Working with large quantities of flammables can be dangerous…especially in the Third World.
[FoxNews] Rescue teams on Wednesday found another body at a tequila distillery in Mexico a day after an explosion and fire, bringing the death toll to six. Two workers were injured.

The factory belongs to the Jose Cuervo company, one of Mexico's most famous tequila brands.

The local civil defense posted on X that the latest body was found in a waste area where large containers had collapsed.

The company on Tuesday said the explosion occurred as employees were carrying out maintenance work. Authorities on Tuesday night said the situation was under control, but on Wednesday morning a fire broke out in a storage area with cardboard and other materials.

The town of Tequila is about 375 miles northwest of Mexico City. Overlooked by a volcano and surrounded by plantations of agave, the plant from which the liquor is produced, life in the municipality of 40,000 residents revolves around tequila production and the tourism it generates.

Armed cops wrongly storm black war vets home while searching for felon who was already in prison
Couldn't get to DC I guess.
[Daly Mail, where America gets its news] Armed Florida cops wrongfully stormed a black war veteran's home while searching for a felon who was in fact in prison.

Naomi Simmons, a 27 year old who served in Afghanistan, told NBC Miami she was sitting at home on June 14 when she heard a banging on her seven-year-old daughter's bedroom window.

When she went outside to check what the commotion was 'there were two guns pointed at me,' she recounted.

'I said, why are you guys pointing guns?' she asked, noting that the Miami-Dade coppers did not identify themselves before she opened the door.

They then told her they were searching for a man named Marquise Wiley, who was wanted on felony gun charges. His ID listed his address as Simmons' home, she said.

But Simmons and her daughter had been living at the Miami Gardens home for more than a year, and had never met Wiley and did not know anything about him.

When police finally left her house, satisfied that Wiley was not hiding out there, Simmons said she sat back on her couch and was able to track down the suspect's whereabouts using just her phone.

She then found that Wiley was already in jug, dealing with two criminal cases in Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

'I was able to find it with no resources and a cellphone on my couch,' Simmons told NBC Miami, adding: 'He was at the prison before they even came to my door.'

Navy Demonstrates ‘Game Changing' Technology for Reloading Missiles at Sea
[TOSD] The Navy announced Wednesday "game-changing" technology that will allow its warships to be reloaded with guided missiles while at sea.

The new Transferrable Rearming Mechanism, or TRAM, was successfully demonstrated in a land-based test at Port Hueneme near Ventura earlier this month.

TRAM will allow the Navy to reload the vertical launch tubes on destroyers and cruisers while they are on patrol, rather than requiring a return to port.

Tim Barnard, director of the NAVSEA Technology Office, said TRAM "will allow our ships to reload missiles just like they refuel — using connected underway replenishment, steaming at speed and in open ocean."

The latest Arleigh Burke-class destroyers carry 96 large guided missiles, but those can be expended quickly during intense fighting as has occurred against the Houthis in the Red Sea.

"Being able to quickly rearm our warships’ vertical launch tubes at sea will significantly increase forward, persistent combat power with the current force," said Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro. "No longer will our combatants need to withdraw from combat for extended periods to return for vulnerable in-port reloading of weapon systems."

A test of the new technology at sea is expected later this year.

#7  The USN is one of the only navies that refuels alongside underway. Physical stores are mostly transferred by helicopter underway. Previously crane transfers were done at anchorage by tenders. All of the tenders were decommissioned in the 90’s. Tenders stored shell type ammo, but not missiles. Ammunition ships did more rigging and transfer of ordinance. Not sure if that was done underway.

Volgograd Region harvested 3 million tons of grain during abnormal heat
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] About 3 million tons of grain have been harvested in the Volgograd Region in conditions of abnormal heat, said the region's governor Andrei Bocharov. His words were quoted on July 25 by the press service of the regional administration.

During a trip to Sredneakhtubinsky District, the Governor congratulated grain growers on a worthy interim result and emphasized that the region continues to produce high-quality grain, which is then used throughout the country, including for baking bread.

“The Volgograd Region has crossed the equator: more than 1.65 million hectares have been processed, 3 million tons of high-quality grain have been harvested - given our weather conditions, this is a decent result,” Bocharov said.

In addition to harvesting grain, the region is harvesting early vegetables and potatoes, peas, lentils, chickpeas and oilseeds. The total area of harvesting this year is about 3.3 million hectares, the press service added.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, farmers in Stavropol Krai had processed 65% of their fields by July 5 and harvested about 5 million tons of new crop grain, exceeding last year's figures. The leaders in grain harvesting in Stavropol were Krasnogvardeisky, Novoalexandrovsky and Ipatovsky districts.

During a government meeting on July 4, Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut said that all targets of the state program for agricultural development were achieved in Russia in 2023. As part of the implementation of the state program, the level of food security continues to improve, it was noted at the meeting. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that there are enough grain, sugar, meat, fish, and vegetable oil for both the domestic and foreign markets.

Kamala Harris Distances Herself From Kamala Harris
[Bee] Presidential candidate Kamala Harris distanced herself from Kamala Harris after members of the press confronted her with questions about her past.

"I am not now nor have I ever been Kamala Harris," Kamala Harris replied. "I have no knowledge of Kamala Harris and I can assure you Kamala Harris has never been a part of who I am. Any claims to the contrary are sexist and racist."

Following Kamala Harris's statement, news outlets were quick to condemn anyone who has ever referred to Kamala Harris as Kamala Harris. "As usual, the Republicans are engaging in a misinformation campaign to tarnish the image of the Vice President," Joe Scarborough said. "We all know Kamala Harris has never been Kamala Harris. Will their lies never cease!?"

Wikipedia updated its entry on Kamala Harris to wipe any previous mention of the presidential candidate's name and Politifact rated the statement "Kamala Harris is Kamala Harris" as a ’Pants On Fire' lie.

At publishing time, Kamala Harris also denied ever having been Joe Biden's Vice President or the Attorney General of California, points quickly corroborated by the mainstream media.

#1  Chatgpt knows that Harris is the "border czar".

Did any of Biden's press secretaries ever say the phrase "border czar"
ChatGPT
As of my last update, there have been instances where members of the Biden administration, including press secretaries and officials, have used the term "border czar" when referring to Vice President Kamala Harris's role in addressing immigration and border issues. However, it's important to note that the term "border czar" is more of a colloquial or media term rather than an official title or designation used by the administration itself. It has been used informally to describe Harris's specific responsibilities related to immigration policy and border management.

So the Biden administration understands what is meant when the news media refers to Harris as the "border czar"?
ChatGPT
Yes, that's correct. While the term "border czar" is primarily used by the media and commentators to describe Vice President Kamala Harris's role in addressing immigration and border issues, members of the Biden administration are aware of how the term is being used and understood in public discourse. It's used informally to highlight her specific responsibilities in managing and addressing challenges at the U.S.-Mexico border and addressing root causes of migration from Central America.

Utah in Uproar as Mormon Church Pulls in Thousands of Migrants
[Breitbart] The Mormon Church — officially the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) — is quietly welcoming thousands of migrants colonists sent to Utah from overcrowded Denver, Colorado, despite public protests by state and local elected officials.

Utah has suffered under the arrival of thousands of cast-off border crossers sent its way by officials in Denver, but even as the state has no resources for migrants colonists, the Mormon Church is quietly welcoming them, causing the public burden to magnify.

Republican Gov. Spencer Cox voiced his outrage in June after he said he just "learned" that Denver had been sending thousands of border crossers to Utah.

"We recently learned that the Democrat mayor of Denver has been sending illegal immigrants colonists to Utah without proper notification or approval," Cox said on X. "This is completely unacceptable and follows on the failed catch-and-release policy of the Biden administration."

Cox added, "All 50 states, including Utah, are now border states due to the failed immigration policies of President Biden and Congress. Once again we call on the Biden administration and Congress to solve this crisis."

Protest group says Netanyahu address to Congress a 'disgraceful spectacle'
[FOXNEWS] One of the groups responsible for protests in Washington during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to Congress called his embrace by politicians a "disgraceful spectacle."

The Answer Coalition was one of several organizers of Wednesday's demonstration by anti-Israel agitators near the U.S. Capitol.

"The disgraceful spectacle inside the Capitol was matched by a disgraceful spectacle outside," the group said in a news release. "The whole area was converted into ’Fort Netanyahu,’ with massive fences and barricades blocking all the surrounding streets so as to deprive the people of their right to protest near the war criminal’s whereabouts. They even innovated new ways to waste tax dollars by bussing in NYPD officers to 'serve and protect' Netanyahu for a day.

"As soon as this mass assembly began to march towards Congress, police attacked," the statement continued. "So not only does the Biden-Harris administration direct U.S. tax dollars to fund the Israeli war machine, they unleash pepper spray on people who object."

Fixed it for you, Whavick Scourge of the Apes9857. Some American Jews vote Democrat — others don’t. The Republican Jewish Coalition was founded in 1985, and has chapters in forty-seven states. They’re all in on Donald Trump for president.

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, founded in 1989 by a Jewish US Navy veteran, has been speaking out against Biden administration anti-gun efforts and just today had a piece describing VP Harris as potentially even worse.

The Trump 47 Committee has its own Jewish Leadership Coalition.

All three of these and other Jewish groups participated in the Republican National Convention last week.

Fair question!

Boring, repetitive question. Jews are no more homogenous than white men, among many other politically non-homogenous groups they could be compared to.

Iran hangs final defendant in 2008 case after 'unfair trial': NGOs
[ARABNEWS] Iranian authorities on Thursday executed Kurdish man Kamran Sheikheh, the last surviving defendant in a case linked to a Moslem holy man’s killing in 2008, rights groups said.

Sheikheh, one of seven men first arrested in the case more than 14 years ago, was put to death in Urmia prison in northwestern Iran, the Norway-based Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
Human Rights (IHR) and US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) said in separate statements.

Sheikheh’s six co-defendants, also members of Iran’s Kurdish minority, had all been executed in separate hangings since November 2023.

Amnesty International has said they had been sentenced to death "in a grossly unfair trial" that had been "marred by allegations of torture and other ill-treatment."

The seven were convicted on the capital crime of corruption on earth.

IHR described Sheikheh as a "political prisoner" who had been sentenced to death "based on torture-tainted confessions in a grossly unfair trial."

The execution "was unlawful according to international law and the Islamic republic’s own laws, amounting to an extrajudicial killing," said IHR director Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam.

HRANA said that the proceedings related to the killing of a holy man of a mosque in the northwestern city of Mahabad in September 2008.

Sheikheh and the six others were arrested in connection with the killing in January and February 2010 and sentenced to death in 2018.

Activists say that Iran’s use of the death penalty
disproportionately targets members of the Kurdish and Baluch ethnic minorities in western and southeast Iran, who generally adhere to the Sunni strain of Islam rather than the Shiism otherwise dominant in Iran

Boat with 45 refugees capsizes off Yemen's coast, UNHCR says
[ARABNEWS] A boat with at least 45 refugees has capsized off the coast of Yemen’s Taiz on Wednesday night, and there are only four survivors, the UN refugee agency in Yemen said on Thursday.

The boat capsized because of strong winds and overloading, the agency added. It said it was working with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to assist the survivors and provide protection.

No further details were provided about the rest of the refugees.

In June, at least 49 migrants died and 140 went missing after their vessel, which departed from Somalia carrying 260 migrants, capsized of the Yemeni coast.

IOM, which runs a tally of migrants who are killed or go missing on migration routes, has since 2014 recorded 1,860 migrant deaths and disappearances along the route running from East Africa and the Horn of Africa to Gulf countries.

According to the United Nations, 97,000 migrants arrived in Yemen from the Horn of Africa last year.

UN experts urge halt to violence against Ahmadis in Pakistan
[ARABNEWS] United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
experts on Thursday voiced grave concern at reports of surging discrimination and violence against Pakistain’s Ahmadi minority community, including extrajudicial killings and attacks on places of worship.

The Ahmadiyya sect, considered heretics by fundamentalist groups, has been persecuted for decades in Pakistain but threats and intimidation have risen in recent years.

"We are alarmed by ongoing reports of violence and discrimination against the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistain," said the nine independent experts, including the special rapporteurs on extrajudicial executions, on freedom of expression and on freedom of religion.

"Urgent measures are necessary to respond to these violent mostly peaceful attacks and the broader atmosphere of hatred and discrimination which feeds it," they said in a statement.

The experts, who are appointed by the UN Human Rights Council but who do not speak on behalf of the United Nations, highlighted a number of specific incidents over recent months.

Those included the extrajudicial killing of two Ahmadis in Saad Ullah Pur on July 8 and the killing on March 4 of the president of the Ahmadiyya community in Bahawalpur district.

They also noted reports of an alarming number of attacks on Ahmadi places of worship and cemeteries since the beginning of the year, including some that had led to the serious injury of worshippers.

The statement also highlighted a number of alleged arbitrary arrests of Ahmadi worshippers over religious holiday periods "to obstruct their participation in their religious practices."

Ahmadis consider themselves Moslems, and their faith is identical to mainstream Islam in almost every way.

But their belief that the movement’s founder Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the "mahdi" or messiah has marked them as blasphemous unbelievers, particularly in Pakistain. There are around 500,000 Amadis in Pakistain according to their community leadership.

The constitution has branded them non-Moslems since 1974, and a 1984 law forbids them from claiming their faith as Islamic or openly practicing Islamic rituals.

"Ahmadis’ right to peacefully manifest their beliefs must be respected," the experts insisted, warning that "judicial harassment serves to normalize violence against Ahmadis by non-State actors."

They welcomed Pakistain National Assembly’s adoption last month of a resolution urging federal and provincial governments to ensure the safety and security of all Pak citizens including religious minorities.

But, they cautioned, "such good-faith efforts to counter discriminatory discourse will be ineffective unless they address its structural drivers, (including) blasphemy
...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran...
laws and discriminatory legal provisions."

...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat Frational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
