Hezbollah rocket of Iranian production kills 12 children in Majdal Shams, dozens wounded
My apologies to all — it appears that this article was hit by stray gamma rays and erased. I think this is the one it was — if the poster (who I think was Frank G) will confirm or correct, we’ll fix it.

My thanks for your patience,
trailing wife for the moderators at 5:00 p.m. ET
[Jpost] According to military guidelines, the residents of several localities in the Northern Galilee were told to stay near shelters following the direct hit.

In a pivotal escalation of the war between Hezbollah and Israel, the terrorist group on Saturday evening launched an Iranian-made rocket towards the North, hitting a soccer field near a playground in the Druze town of Majdal Shams.

There were 12 children and teenagers killed, all between the ages of 10 and 20, when a rocket struck a soccer field. At least 19 were wounded to varying degrees, including six seriously injured, three moderately, and 10 lightly injured, including those suffering from anxiety attacks.By press time, 11 names were confirmed by authorities: Fajr Laith Abu Salah, Amir Rabi Abu Salah, 16, Hazem Akram Abu Salah, 16, John Wadie Ibrahim, 15, Izil Nashat Ayoub, 13, Finis Adham Safadi, 12, Alma Ayman Fakhr al-Din, 12, Yazan Naif Abu Salah, 11, Naji Taher Halabi, 11, Millar Maadad al-Shaar, 11, and Nazem Fakher Saeb, 10.

Hezbollah quickly denied any connection to the incident. IDF chief spokesman R-Adm. Daniel Hagari that the rocket was a Falaq 1 rocket of Iranian production whose warhead carried over 50 kilos of explosives. Hagari stated such a rocket is to be found in Hezbollah’s possession, adding the terror group had “carried out the launch from the Chebaa area in Lebanon.” Hagari also named the Hezbollah commander who guided the fire as “Ali Muhammad Yihye.”

The wounded were evacuated to hospitals by Magen David Adom teams and IDF helicopters, MDA said, adding that, following the strike, about 100 doses and blood components were provided to hospitals. Rambam Hospital in Haifa said that 4 of the 5 children it received underwent surgeries during the night, and were hospitalized in the intensive care unit at the Ruth Children’s Hospital in Rambam (three of them are breathing independently) while one was in the pediatric surgery department. In Safed, Ziv Medical Center said that of the 39 wounded it received, 17 were in a moderate-severe condition, 21 in a minor condition and one person died of wounds immediately upon arrival.

Earlier, an IDF situational assessment stated the rocket launch toward Majdal Shams was carried out by Hezbollah. A senior official from Hezbollah, Mohammad Afif, told Reuters on Saturday that the group was not responsible for the strike, although later Hagari stated that the terror organization was lying.

From the analysis of the IDF’s operational systems, the rocket launch was carried out from an area located north of the village of Chebaa in southern Lebanon.

SITUATIONAL ASSESSMENTS OF THE INCIDENT
IDF Chief of Staff, Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi, the Northern Command’s Commanding Officer, the Operations Directorate Head, the Israel Air Force Head, and other members of the General Staff Forum conducted a situational assessment of the incident.

In addition, the Northern Command’s Commanding Office Maj.-Gen. Ori Gordin conducted a situational assessment in Majdal Shams where he also visited the area of the direct hit. Gordin also spoke with Sheikh Muwafaq Tarif, the head of the Druze community.

Alarms were activated in the Majdal Shams area in the Northern Galilee at 6:18 p.m. Israel Army Radio later reported that an initial IDF investigation found that it had been impossible to give a longer warning time and that an interceptor had not been launched due to topographical challenges. The rocket’s low flight reportedly made the interception difficult.

Army Radio added that detecting the rocket was, however, no difficulty, and while an alarm sounded, the short distance from launch to impact made earlier warning impossible.

The military said residents had about 20 seconds to react to the alarm, but the Israeli outlet added that locals reported only having a few seconds.

In the most recent barrage of rockets since the hit in Majdal Shams, 100 rockets were reportedly fired, according to the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen network.

Earlier, a barrage of rockets was fired Saturday evening toward Neve Ativ at 5:55 p.m., which included approximately 10 projectiles from Lebanon, the IDF reported. All projectiles fell in open areas and there were no injuries reported.

At 5:24 p.m., approximately 30 rockets were seen crossing from Lebanon into Israel, and alarms were activated in Kiryat Shmona, Tel Hai, Margaliot, and across the Northern Galilee. In this instance, the IDF Aerial Defense Array intercepted numerous projectiles, and the rest fell in open areas. In this instance, also no injuries were reported.

The shooting was carried out in response to the elimination of four Radwan force operatives in southern Lebanon Saturday evening, Ynet reported. These operatives included Naeem Ali Farhat and Ahmad Hikmat Musa from the al-Bekaa region in northeastern Lebanon, Mohammed Ali Mustafa Merish from Beirut, and Hassan Al-Halal Al-Saidi from the town of Toul in southern Lebanon, Ynet reported, citing Hezbollah.

This brings the total number of the organization’s fatalities since the start of the war to 383.

Suspect tells FSB Ukraine behind Moscow car bombing
[RT] A Russian citizen suspected of carrying out a car bombing in Moscow has told Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) that he collaborated with a presumed member of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) while being instructed on how to conduct the attack.

A Toyota Land Cruiser reportedly belonging to a Russian serviceman exploded near a residential building in the northern part of Moscow on Wednesday. The bomb went off when the owner of the vehicle and a person believed to be his wife entered it. Both were hospitalized, with the man reportedly losing his feet and the woman receiving shrapnel wounds.

Evgeny Serebryakov, 29, who is accused of blowing up the car, was detained the same day by police in the Turkish city of Bodrum and transferred to Moscow.

In a video of his interrogation shared by the FSB on Friday, the man says he began collaborating with “Ilya from the SBU” in February 2023. Serebryakov stated that he communicated with the man via messengers and met him in Istanbul once.

“After that, I received the components to assemble an improvised explosive device. Ilya proposed to eliminate the officer,” the suspect said.

Serebryakov claimed that ‘Ilya’ instructed him on how to assemble the bomb and plant it under the serviceman’s car in Moscow, adding that he was promised Ukrainian citizenship and a reward of $10,000 to $20,000 for the attack. Kiev has denied involvement in the terrorist attack.

Serebryakov lived in a rented apartment in central Moscow. According to his brother, he moved to the Russian capital 12 years ago. He worked in a bank and also served as an altar boy for a Catholic church in Moscow.

Europe
New in SpyWeek: Olympics Spies and Sabotage
[SpyTalk] Espionage and sabotage in France, FBI efforts to thwart adversaries on social media, a suspected Chinese spy arrested in Florida, the Strzok & Page cases and more in this week’s intel news roundup.

GRAY PAREE: "The French will have an opening ceremony like no other," a suspected FSB officer reportedly told his superior two months ago.

Although the suspected FSB officer was arrested earlier this month by authorities in France after he drunkenly babbled about his plans, he wasn’t wrong.

As the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games got underway Friday in Paris, high-speed rail lines into the French capital were snarled by what authorities called "coordinated sabotage" and an "attack on France." No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The French railway said that the suspected arsonists had cut and burned cables used for train signaling far outside Paris. Each cable is a bundle of dozens or even hundreds of fiber optic threads that have to be repaired, reconnected, and tested. "They knew exactly where to strike to cause maximum chaos," The New York Times reported.

"Suspicion fell immediately on ultra-left radicals, from security sources briefing French media," the BBC reported, "but there has been no claim of responsibility from any source."
French suspicion is Antifa, the Israelis say Iran. Why can't they both be right?

Trump slams ‘politicized' FBI
[RT] Former US president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has slammed the Federal Bureau of Investigation as being politicized and incompetent at its job.

Testifying before Congress on Wednesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray said he wasn’t sure whether Trump had been hit by a bullet or something else at a campaign rally two weeks ago.

“I think with respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s [a] bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear,” Wray told the lawmakers.

Wray was unsure about the bullet but seemed sure that President Joe Biden was physically and cognitively fine, until Biden dropped out of the race, Trump said in a post on his platform Truth Social, late on Thursday.

“That’s why he knows nothing about the terrorists and other criminals pouring into our country at record levels,” Trump continued. “His only focus is destroying J6 Patriots, raiding Mar-a-Lago, and saving Radical Left Lunatics, like the ones now in DC burning American flags and spray painting over our great National Monuments - with zero retribution.”

”No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!” the former president added.

Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered in Washington on Wednesday to protest the address to Congress by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Some of them publicly burned the American flag, while others defaced several monuments with pro-Hamas slogans.

The FBI rounded up thousands of Trump supporters who protested outside the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, as Republicans tried to object to declaring Biden the winner of the 2020 election, citing numerous irregularities. In August 2022, the agency raided Trump’s Florida residence in search of classified documents. The Supreme Court later ruled that prosecuting him for official acts was unconstitutional.

The Mar-a-Lago raid and the crackdown on January 6 protesters were repeatedly brought up as reasons why local and state law enforcement around the US no longer trusts the FBI, according to a report compiled by a group of current and former agents. The Bureau is increasingly viewed “as a partisan federal agency motivated by a political agenda,” said the report, which was presented to Congress earlier this week.

Insisting that Wray was “wrong,” Trump said it was indeed a bullet that had nicked his ear at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally. “There was no glass, there was no shrapnel,” Trump posted, adding that the FBI “never even checked” into it.

The idea that Trump may have been injured by something else, or not at all, has been a popular conspiracy theory among Democrats online. Some people have claimed that he faked the ear injury, while others speculated that a shard from the teleprompter broke off and nicked the presidential candidate. Such rumors have persisted even though a New York Times photographer captured the bloodied bullet as it streaked past Trump and into the crowd behind him.

Britain
[RT] ‘Patriots' hold huge rally in central London (VIDEOS)
Thousands of people marched through London on Saturday in a large-scale demonstration organized by right-wing activist Tommy Robinson. Multiple arrests were made after some protesters clashed with police and left-wing counter-demonstrators.

Billed as the “biggest patriotic rally the UK has ever seen,” Robinson’s ‘Uniting the Kingdom’ march drew crowds of Union Jack-wearing demonstrators to the British capital. The march set off from the Royal Courts of Justice – where Robinson was arrested for refusing to leave a pro-Israel demonstration in November – and concluded at Trafalgar Square, where Robinson and other activists delivered speeches.

While most attendees sang patriotic slogans such as “England ‘till I die” many chanted anti-Islam slogans such as “Who the f**k is Allah?” and “You can stick your f**king Islam up your arse.”

Robinson drew heavily on anti-immigrant and anti-Islam themes, telling supporters that Britons would be “replaced no longer,” and describing the existence of Pakistani ‘grooming gangs’ as a “stain” on Britain’s history.

Robinson claimed that 100,000 people showed up at the rally, but this figure could not be verified.

A group of left-wing protesters assembled at nearby Whitehall, and were kept apart from Robinson’s followers by police. Some scuffles were reported, however, and police officers arrested two men for allegedly attacking a leftist demonstrator. Two more men were arrested for “racially aggravated public order” offenses, while on the left-wing side, four people were arrested at a pub in Whitehall for allegedly assaulting police officers.

London’s Metropolitan Police said in a statement that they would investigate “racist and anti-Muslim” language used by Robinson’s followers.

In a video posted to his X account after the rally, Robinson described the day as an “absolute success.” However, his decision to end the event with a screening of his documentary ‘Silenced’ could potentially result in a jail sentence.

Robinson was ordered by a judge not to release the film, in which he claims that a Syrian student who was attacked at a Yorkshire secondary school in 2018 had a lengthy record of attacking female students. Robinson was sued for libel by the student, Jamal Hijazi, and ordered to pay £100,000 ($128,500) in damages in 2021.

“I’ll be jailed for two years for showing the inconceivable truth,” Robinson told the crowd in London. The activist is already due in court on Tuesday, where he faces contempt charges for releasing the documentary.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
[RT] Israel bombs targets in Lebanon
[RT] The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed that it carried out airstrikes against multiple targets in southern Lebanon. This came after Israeli officials vowed to retaliate after 12 people were killed when a rocket hit a football field in the occupied Golan Heights.

The attacks were reported by multiple news outlets in the early hours of Sunday. According to Al Jazeera, explosions were heard in the coastal city of Tyre and several villages along the Israel-Lebanon border.

Later, the IDF said in the statement that its air force “struck a series of Hezbollah terror targets” overnight, “both deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon, including weapons caches and terrorist infrastructure in the areas of Chabriha, Borj El Chmali, and Beqaa, Kfarkela, Rab El Thalathine, Khiam, and Tayr Harfa.”

Tensions flared up on Saturday when a rocket struck the Druze village of Majdal Shams. The Israeli government blamed Hezbollah for the attack, the victims of which were mostly children. The Lebanon-based group rejected the accusations.

The UN special coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, and the commander of UN peacekeepers in Lebanon, Aroldo Lazaro, released a joint statement on Sunday, calling for “the parties to exercise maximum restraint and to put a stop to the ongoing intensified exchanges of fire.”

The escalation “could ignite a wider conflagration that would engulf the entire region in a catastrophe beyond belief,” they said.

#1  I wish this could be contained for just a few months until Israel has deployed the iron beam technology.

Of course as long as I am wishing, I wish Israel had been prepared for the Oct 7 Hamas attacks. How different things would have been if 1700 Hamas attackers had been eliminated with, say, fewer than a dozen civilian deaths.

He should be careful though, that his people do not come to call him the Turkish version of Epimanes, like the fourth Antiochus of the Seleucid line.

Trump courts crypto industry votes and campaign donations
[BBC] Donald Trump has told one of the largest cryptocurrency events of the year that if he is re-elected president he will fire the chairperson of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the first day.

Trump was the keynote speaker at Bitcoin 2024 on Saturday, a gathering of industry heavyweights in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Republican presidential candidate used the event to court voters and encourage campaign donations from the tech community.

Cryptocurrency has emerged as a political battleground for Republicans, with Trump claiming the Democratic Party and Vice-President Kamala Harris were “against crypto”.

The audience was at its most animated when Trump declared “on day one I will fire Gary Gensler”, the SEC chair nominated by current President Joe Biden. The crowd cheered loudly and started to chant “Trump” at this declaration.

Mr Gensler led a crackdown on the crypto industry, and has previously said the sector is rife with “hucksters”.

The SEC brought charges against the "King of Crypto" Sam Bankman-Fried, who was sentenced to 25 years for stealing billions of dollars from customers of his FTX cryptocurrency exchange.

Speaking for about 45 minutes, Trump outlined some of his ideas for the sector if he were to win November's election. He said he would make the US the cryptocurrency capital of the world. His support for the industry is a 180 turn from his comments in 2021, when he told Fox Business he saw Bitcoin as a “scam” affecting the value of the US dollar.

Trump told the crowd at the event he would keep 100% of Bitcoin that the US government currently holds or acquires, adding that it would be a “national Bitcoin stockpile”.

The former president also said he would “immediately appoint a Bitcoin and crypto presidential advisory council”.

He talked about the power needed to mine cryptocurrency. “You need tremendous amounts of electricity” he said, adding he would build powerplants “to get that done” and would be “using fossil fuels”.

There has been increasing support among some tech leaders for Trump’s presidential campaign in recent months. Tesla founder Elon Musk, who is the world’s richest person, has endorsed Trump. And crypto tycoons, the Winklevoss twins, who were at Saturday's speech, have also rallied behind him.

Trump brought up that his campaign takes cryptocurrency donations, saying in the two months since he allowed crypto transactions, he received $25m (£20m) in donations. However, he did not say how much of the payments were from cryptocurrency.

Trump used his speech to frame cryptocurrency regulation as a partisan issue, saying the Biden administration was “anti-crypto”.

A number of Republican lawmakers also attended Trump’s speech, including Senators Tim Scott and Tommy Tuberville. Former Republican presidential candidate and Trump ally Vivek Ramaswamy was there as well.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr and Democratic Party lawmakers Wiley Nickel and Ro Khanna also spoke at the event.

Earlier at Bitcoin 2024 , Democratic congressman Nickel said Kamala Harris was taking a “forward-looking approach to digital assets and blockchain technology”.
Golly.

Lithium Battery Fire Strands CA Drivers on Blazing Hot Highway for Hours
[Breitbart] A lithium battery fire on California’s I-15 left drivers stranded for hours in the blazing heat on Saturday.

Heat on the highway reached as high as 109-degrees on Saturday as “authorities struggled to extinguish a fire involving a truck carrying lithium ion batteries that had overturned on Friday,” reported the New York Times.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Thomas Crooks' plan and the botched security
[BBC] Thomas Matthew Crooks
…age 20 and proud community college graduate with an associate degree in engineering, gamer, probably schizophrenic, seriously bipolar, or that extraverted version of clinical depression that leads to mass murder. The fact that both his parents are therapists did not prevent him acting on it, but they’ve been trying to help the authorities ever since they called the police to report him missing, instead of making excuses…
walked into Donald Trump's election rally in Pennsylvania, unopposed with a gun, explosives and a rangefinder to measure distance to his target.

The aftermath of the 13 July shooting reveals a detailed plan hatched in the days before - and a series of security failings that allowed its execution.

Three congressional hearings were held this week with the head of the FBI, the Secret Service's director and Pennsylvania's state police chief.

Here is what those hearings have added to what is known about the attempt on Trump's life, what went wrong, and important unanswered questions.

THE PREPARATION
It is becoming clear that Crooks' attack was not the result of a last-minute meltdown: He had method, and purpose.

The FBI has said that 6 July appeared to be the inception date: Crooks registered to attend Trump's rally, and researched the assassination of President John F Kennedy, googling: "How far away was Oswald from Kennedy?"

"That's a search that's obviously significant in terms of his state of mind," Christopher Wray, the FBI's director, told the House Judiciary committee on Wednesday. He added that searches by Crooks then became "focused" on Trump.

He was working alone - the FBI say they do not think he received any help.

There was also reconnaissance. Mr Wray said Crooks was flying a drone about 200 yards (183m) from the stage two hours before Trump's rally.

Its camera ran for about 11 minutes, Mr Wray said, and the footage would have shown "a rear-view mirror of the scene" behind Crooks' eventual firing position.
What we know about the Trump attacker

Mr Wray said that Crooks had bought an AR-15-style rifle from his father, legally, although he did not say when. The gun had a collapsible stock, making it easier to conceal.

State police officers reported him using a rangefinder, a marksman's aid that measures distance to a target, as the rally got under way.

Crooks had also obtained explosives: two "crude" devices fitted with receivers were found in Crooks' car after the attack, Mr Wray said, and a transmitter was found on his body.

A bloodied receipt was also found on Crooks for a 5ft ladder, Mr Wray said - suggesting a recent buy. No ladder was found at the site, however, and Mr Wray said Crooks had used "mechanical equipment" to get to his perch - but did not elaborate.

And so Crooks turned up on the day with a concealable rifle, knowledge of previous assassinations, a rangefinder, two bombs, and detailed information on the layout of the area.

A PLAN IN ACTION
It should be impossible for a man to walk into a presidential rally with so much gear, let alone carry it up to an undefended roof with a direct line of sight to the stage. But this is exactly what happened in Butler.

Statements to the House Homeland Security committee by Pennsylvania's police commissioner, Christopher Paris, convey a series of lapses from law enforcement.

The venue had two layers of security - an outer area patrolled by state police and an inner perimeter manned by Secret Service agents, including an anti-sniper team on a roof behind the stage.

An operations centre was staffed by members of the various agencies present. But on the day, communication was haphazard and areas of responsibility unclear.

Mr Paris told his hearing that state police were responsible for the area around the AGR International warehouse, the building from which Crooks fired that was around 400ft (122m) from the stage with a clear line of sight.

He revealed his men had raised its risk in the days before the rally and were told by the Secret Service that it was a state police matter as it was in the outer area.

As a consequence, a local SWAT-style Emergency Services Unit (ESU) team was stationed inside the building complex, Mr Paris added.

The New York Times reported that the team was in fact two men who stayed inside because of the hot weather. The plan had been approved by the Secret Service, the newspaper's source said.

Kimberly Cheatle, director of the Secret Service until she stepped down this week, told lawmakers she could not account for why no one was stationed on the roof.

WHAT WENT WRONG?
Mr Paris said the first sighting of Crooks came from a state police ESU unit.

Unlike others in the crowd, Crooks was walking around and did not try to enter the venue, he said. "Crooks never made it through the secure perimeter."

He was not challenged. Mr Paris said he was one of three people flagged as "suspicious" at this point in the event.

About 25 minutes before the rally began, however, Mr Paris said that the ESU team spotted him again - this time using his rangefinder, though no gun was reported.

This is perhaps the point where security broke down irrevocably.

A photograph of Crooks was sent by a member of the ESU team to a state trooper in the joint operations room. Mr Paris said that a Secret Service liaison asked the trooper to send the photo to another number.

At this point, it seems that agents charged with protecting Trump did not consider Crooks dangerous enough to act - no weapon had been spotted.

During her fractious hearing before the House Oversight committee on Monday, Ms Cheatle acknowledged her agents were told about Crooks at least twice before the shooting began.

She said that agents only became aware of the gravity of the threat "seconds before the gunfire started".

THE CRUCIAL MOMENTS
Mr Paris said several local police, including the ESU team, then began searching for Crooks. It appears he was lost again, despite his growing threat.

Witnesses told the BBC that by this point they had seen a man with a gun crawling along a roof. All of this was happening with Trump already on stage.

Mr Paris said that Crooks was eventually seen on the roof by local traffic police and his ESU team. One traffic officer boosted up to the roof by a colleague was forced to fall back after being confronted by Crooks, Mr Paris told the hearing.

That confrontation, the commissioner said, happened "a matter of seconds" before the shooting.

Agents surrounded Trump immediately after the first shots, and he was off the stage within two minutes. By this point Crooks had been shot dead by a sniper.

A video recorded on the roof about an hour after the attack shows snipers and Secret Service agents trying to understand who saw what and when, adding to the sense of confusion among law enforcement.

Eight bullet casings were found near his body. He had killed one crowd member and injured two others.

Amid speculation over whether Trump was actually hit by a bullet, the FBI confirmed two weeks afterwards that the Republican was indeed wounded by a round from the suspect's weapon.

The agency said in a statement: "What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle."

WHY WAS TRUMP ALLOWED ON STAGE?
Trump was on stage for around 10 minutes between the moment Crooks was spotted on the roof with a gun and the moment he fired his first shot.

There is almost no public account of the Secret Service's actions and decisions during the rally. Ms Cheatle declined to answer most of the questions put to her in Congress - down to how many agents were protecting Trump.

We do know, via Ms Cheatle, that agents dismissed the alerts about him because he was not seen with a weapon.

She could not provide her hearing a detailed timeline, as requested, saying she "did not have specifics".

She quit as director of the Secret Service a day after her hearing, under pressure from both sides of the House, and it seems we won't get answers any time soon.

WHAT WAS CROOKS' MOTIVE?
More than a week on, we still do not know of any specific ideology or belief that drove Crooks to do what he did.

Mr Wray of the FBI told his hearing that a motive was one of the "central questions" of his bureau's investigations.

However, he said that interviews with Crooks' associates and searches of his home and online history did not give a "clear picture".

Analysis of the gunman's phone showed that he had "done a lot of searches" for news articles - but there was no pattern, Mr Wray added.

Investigators were still decrypting messages on the phone, he said.

We know he donated $15 to a Democratic Party platform shortly after the Capitol riot of 2021, then months later registered as a Republican.

No "manifesto" has been found.

What he planned to do with his explosives, meanwhile, remains unclear - Mr Wray said that while his bombs were viable, their receivers were off and Crooks would not have been able to detonate them remotely.

IDF carries out drone strike in Nablus, hours after shooting lightly wounds soldier
[IsraelTimes] Two Palestinian reported killed as army operates in Balata camp; troops search for the assailants who fired at military post

The IDF carried out a drone strike in the Balata camp near the West Bank city of Nablus Saturday afternoon during an operation, the military said.

The Palestinian Authority health ministry reported two dead and 22 wounded as a result of the Israeli drone strike.

Palestinian media identified the slain men as Louay Masha, 17, and Ali Hashash, 24. Masha was identified as a member of an armed group in Balata.

On Saturday morning an IDF soldier was lightly injured in a shooting attack that targeted an army post near Nablus, the military said.

According to the IDF, Palestinian gunmen opened fire from deep within Nablus at the army post. Troops were searching for the assailants.

The soldier was taken to a hospital and was in good condition.

Hours before the Saturday incidents near Nablus, a Border Police officer shot at a car that accelerated toward cops in East Jerusalem’s Issawiya, “neutralizing” the driver in the early hours of Saturday morning, the force said.

Police said the officer opened fire after feeling his life was in danger, adding that an investigation into the incident was underway.

The driver was seriously wounded and taken to a local hospital, according to Hebrew media reports. No policemen were injured.

Since October 7, troops have arrested some 4,400 wanted Palestinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,850 affiliated with Hamas.

According to the PA health ministry, 589 West Bank Palestinians have been killed in that time. The IDF says the vast majority of them were gunmen killed in exchanges of fire, rioters who clashed with troops or terrorists carrying out attacks.

During the same period, 23 Israelis, including security personnel, have been killed in terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank. Another five members of the security forces were killed in clashes with terror operatives in the West Bank.

James Carville Drops A Truth Bomb On Democrats About Kamala Harris
[PJ] After weeks of pressure, Democrat elites successfully blackmailed Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race, and Vice President Kamala Harris was quickly coronated as the presumptive nominee. There is no denying that Democrats are in the middle of a honeymoon phase with their new candidate.

However, famed Democratic strategist James Carville is warning Democrats that it is not time to celebrate yet and cautioning them against getting too confident about their new choice.

"I have to be the skunk at the garden party. This is too triumphalist, OK?" Carville warned during an appearance on MSNBC earlier this week. "Everybody’s giddy. I look at the coverage and it’s great. If I had to write a play about what I think, it’d be titled, ’The Icepick Cometh,’ OK? Get ready, they’re coming. All right? And it’s good. Everybody should feel good and liberated and everything else. But if we don’t win the election, we haven’t done anything. This kind of giddy elation is not going to be very helpful much longer ’cause that’s not what we’re going to be faced with."

"I think the Vice President, to put it in athletic terms, needs a really good cutman in the corner, because she’s getting ready to get cut," he continued.

"It’s still the same country, all right? It might be a different mood, and all I’m saying is good. Bang your helmets against the locker, it’s fine," he said. "But still, when you go out there, you’re facing Alabama. Just get ready because these Republicans, you’re right, they got caught off guard, but they’re going to get their sea legs and we’re having to get a campaign—a whole campaign started."

Major General Higginbotham (Ret) Editorial: Kamala Harris' Background
[The Americanist] ✪ Here is a timely editorial that exposes the hidden background of Kamala Harris from the Combat Veterans for Congress Political Action Committee. The CVFC PAC supports theelection of US military combat veterans to the US Senate & House Of Representatives...

Kamala Harris’ father was an avowed Marxist professor in the Economics Department at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. Both of Harris’ parents were active in the Berkeley based Afro-American Association; Fidel Castro and Che Guevara were the heroes of the Afro-American Association.

The group’s leader, Donald Warden (aka Khalid al-Mansour), mentored two young Afro-American Association members, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale; they created the Maoist inspired Black Panther Party which gained strong support from Communist China; the Black Panther Party served as the model for creation of the Black Lives Matter Marxist organization. Khalid al-Mansour subsequently went on to arrange financing and facilitated for Barack Hussein Obama to be accepted as a student to matriculate at Harvard Law School.

Following her graduation from college, Harris returned to California and subsequently became the mistress of the 60- year-old married Speaker of the California Assembly, Willie Brown, Jr. Brown’s political campaigns were supported and funded by Dr. Carlton Goodlett, the owner of The Sun Reporter and several other pro-Communist newspapers.

Brown was elected as Mayor of San Francisco, and strongly endorsed Harris’ Marxist political philosophy; he guided Harris’ political rise in California politics, leading to her election as California’s Attorney General. Willie Brown, Jr. is a well-known long-time Communist sympathizer. Willie Brown, Jr. was initially elected to public office with substantial help of the Communist Party USA. Today, Willie Brown is widely regarded as one of the Chinese Communist Party’s best friends in the San Francisco Bay Area.

While serving as San Francisco District Attorney, Kamala Harris mentored a young San Francisco Radical Maoist activist, Lateefah Simon, who was a member of the STORM Revolutionary Movement; Simon currently chairs the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Board. Simon has always been close friends with the founder of Black Lives Matter Marxist domestic terrorists, Alicia Garza, as well as STORM member and avowed Communist, Van Jones. Harris has been openly and aggressively supporting Black Lives Matter Marxists; Kamala Harris is still closely associated with Maoist Lateefah Simon and Marxist Alicia Garza. Kamala Harris’s sister Maya Harris was a student activist at Stanford University. She was a closely associated with Steve Phillips, one of the leading Marxist-Leninists on campus and a long-time affiliate with the League of Revolutionary Struggle, a pro-Chinese Communist group.

#5  The idea of Willie Brown as a crypto-Marxist cracks me up. That's definitely *not* how he behaved when I lived in San Francisco and he was running things. To quote Da Mayor himself: “Any politician that can’t take people’s money and then turn around and screw them doesn’t belong in the business.”

Frankly, I think San Franciscans would *kill* to have a mayor as good as Brown at this point. They haven't had one in a while.

It's not that General Higginbotham is exactly wrong in this article. It's that he doesn't understand the culture of San Francisco. It's really because UC Berkeley is right there. I remember in the 80's there were kids trying to sell me copies of the Daily Worker when I came out of my apartment at Haight and Fillmore in the morning. But it was all window dressing by then and everybody knew it. Marxist stuff just took longer to die away there because the old-timey leftists kept it on life support.

But by the 90's it was definitely gone.

#6  #5 I have to agree with Master - though for different reasons. These "people" are not Marxists. Marxists wanted to build a new word - an impossible one, because their premises were flawed - but they were into creation. The modern left are pure destruction for personal enrichment.

Israel airstrike hits Gaza shelter, leaving 30 dead
[FoxNews] Hamas operated a command and control center in the Deir Al-Bala school, according to the IDF.

Israeli airstrikes hit a school being used by displaced people in central Gaza on Saturday, killing dozens of people, as the country’s negotiators prepared to meet international mediators to discuss a proposed cease-fire.

At least 30 people sheltering at a girls' school in Deir Al-Balah were taken to Al Aqsa Hospital and pronounced dead after a strike that Israel's military said targeted a Hamas command and control center used to store weapons and plan attacks.

Gaza's Health Ministry said at least 11 people had been killed in other strikes on Saturday.

Earlier, Israel's military ordered the evacuation of a part of a designated humanitarian zone in Gaza ahead of a planned strike on Khan Younis on Saturday.

The evacuation order was in response to rocket fire that Israel said originated from the area. The military said it planned an operation against Hamas militants in the city, including parts of Muwasi, the crowded tent camp in an area where Israel has told thousands of Palestinians to seek refuge throughout the war.

It’s the second evacuation order issued in a week that has included striking part of the humanitarian zone, a 60-square-kilometer (roughly 20-square-mile) blanketed with tent camps that lack sanitation and medical facilities and have limited access to aid, United Nations and humanitarian groups say. Israel expanded the zone in May to take in people fleeing Rafah, where more than half of Gaza’s population at the time had crowded.

According to Israeli estimates, about 1.8 million Palestinians are currently sheltering there.. In November, the military said the area could still be struck and that it was "not a safe zone, but it is a safer place than any other" in Gaza.

Further north, Palestinians mourned the deaths of seven killed by Israeli airstrikes overnight on Zawaida, in central Gaza.

Olympic Opening ceremony fallout news roundup for July 27th, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Peskov calls some moments of the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony disgusting
[Regnum] Some moments included in the program of the opening ceremony of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris are disgusting, said the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

"I saw various extracts and so on, that is, I made most of it myself, I personally watched it. Indeed, there were absolutely disgusting moments," Izvestia quotes him as saying.

Peskov noted that the opening ceremony of the Olympics is being coordinated with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which, by allowing such disgusting moments to enter the scenario, has taken a “dangerous path.”

Certain episodes of the event in question contradict the legislation of the Russian Federation, Peskov emphasized.

“We can only be glad that our viewers didn’t see this,” he added.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris took place on July 26. In addition to promoting the so-called Western agenda, the event was accompanied by a number of incidents - from raising an inverted Olympic flag to the mistaken presentation of South Korea as the DPRK.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stressed that the Olympic opening ceremony demonstrated that the West no longer has a common moral foundation.

The event was also criticized by member of the Russian Federation Council Alexey Pushkov. According to him, the ideology of the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris is saturated with elements of an ultra-liberal approach to values and social guidelines that divide society. Russian mixed martial artist, UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev called the Games in Paris a disgrace and a dark spot on the Olympic movement.

Makhachev called the Paris Games a disgrace and called for the Olympics to be returned to Russia
The opening ceremony of the Games in Paris became a dark spot on the Olympic movement, the Olympics need to be returned to Russia. This was stated on July 27 by Russian mixed martial artist, the champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in lightweight Islam Makhachev.

"The Paris Games are a disgrace and a dark spot on the Olympic movement. We must bring them back to Russia to fix everything," he wrote on social media.

The athlete attached a video comparing the opening ceremonies of the Games in Paris and the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.

The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which took place on the Seine River in Paris, provoked a mixed reaction from viewers. In Greece, the event was called a “collapse of civilization.” MEP Marion Maréchal Le Pen described the episodes presented during the presentation as a desperate attempt to extol the values of sport in an era of “woke culture.”

American entrepreneur Elon Musk called the transvestite parody of Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" shown at the opening ceremony a blatant disrespect for Christians.

In addition, the opening ceremony of the Games in Paris was remembered for the singing severed head of Marie Antoinette and the "horseman of the Apocalypse" galloping along the Seine River.

Zakharova called the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris a massive failure
The opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris turned into a massive failure. This was stated on July 27 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

In her Telegram channel, she drew attention to a number of odd moments. The diplomat wrote that on the eve of the opening of the Olympics, French authorities detained a chef of Russian origin, accusing him of espionage and attempting to disrupt the event.

"I wonder how many more 'spies' had to be planted to ensure that the opening of the Olympics in Paris was such a massive failure? This is not rock bottom. This is the bottom of the Seine," Zakharova emphasized.

The diplomat admitted that she had not planned to watch the opening, but when she saw the photo, she could not believe that it was not a deepfake or Photoshop. The representative of the foreign policy department called the open-air opening ceremony ridiculous because spectators were forced to sit for hours in the pouring rain, while the organizers did not provide any cloud dispersal or awnings.

Zakharova also pointed to the transport collapse that hit Paris on the opening day of the 2024 Games, and the rats that flooded the streets of the French capital. The apotheosis was the mockery of a sacred Christian subject - "The Last Supper" - the last supper of Christ, where the apostles were portrayed by transvestites, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.

As reported by IA Regnum, several incidents occurred during the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Thus, the Olympic flag was installed on the flagpole upside down and raised in the same position. After that, the banner was immediately lowered and returned to the correct position.

When a boat carrying the South Korean team was sailing along the Seine, the South Korean athletes were confused with the DPRK team.

In addition, the press conference before the opening ceremony of the Games was suddenly cancelled. Journalist Rob Harris reported on July 26 that the leadership of the organizing committee did not explain the reasons for this decision.

On the day of the opening ceremony of the Olympics, there was a disruption in the high-speed Train à Grande Vitesse (TGV) service. According to the BFMTV television channel, several arson attacks occurred at railway facilities. Transport Minister Patrice Vergriete called the incident a coordinated malicious act. On the same day, the terminal of the French-Swiss Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport, also known as EuroAirport, was temporarily closed and evacuated.

Greece calls Paris Olympics opening ceremony a "collapse of civilization"
The collapse of civilization and Christian culture in Western Europe was demonstrated by the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris. This was reported on July 26 by the Greek portal pronews. gr.

As the portal explains, the presence of transvestites at the opening ceremony of the Olympics, who tried to pass themselves off as Jesus Christ and his disciples at the Last Supper, caused a strong reaction among the audience. The transvestites grouped themselves into a composition similar to the one depicted in the world-famous painting by Leonardo.

“This clearly demonstrates the complete collapse of Western civilization, the transformation of the Olympic festival and its ideals into a parade of transgender people,” the portal notes.

In turn, MEP Marion Maréchal, niece of one of the leaders of the French National Rally party Marine Le Pen, who watched the opening of the 2024 Games, reacted with anger to the opening ceremony of the Olympics, noting that the well-staged scenes were simply lost between the beheaded Marie Antoinette, transvestites and a kissing couple.

"I am watching the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games with my children. It is difficult to appreciate the few good scenes, between the beheading of Marie Antoinette, the kissing couple, the transvestites, the humiliation of the Republican Guard forced to dance with Aya Nakamura, and the general ugliness of the costumes and choreography," Le Pen explained.

According to Marion Maréchal, it is a hopeless attempt to praise the values of sport and the beauty of France against the backdrop of such crude propaganda of woke culture (woke culture or cancel culture).

"Know that this is not France speaking, but a left-wing minority ready for any provocation," Maréchal wrote.

At the same time, pro-government media in Greece praised the opening ceremony of the Olympics, saying that "the French wanted to combine history, culture, art with today and diversity," and the long-awaited opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on the Seine River "delivered a stunning finale."

Earlier, Regnum news agency reported that at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the organizers hung the Olympic flag upside down.

For the first time in the history of the Games, the parade of delegations took place not at the stadium, but on the Seine River, which flows through Paris.

On July 26, the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee cancelled a press conference ahead of the opening ceremony without explanation. The decision was announced less than 20 minutes before the briefing was to begin.

Russian and Belarusian athletes were allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympics only in a "neutral status" if they met a number of criteria. This decision was made in December 2023 by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The organizers of the Games refused to allow athletes who publicly supported the Russian special operation or have contracts with security forces in the Russian Federation to participate in the competition. On July 18, the IOC published a list of 15 Russian athletes who were allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympics.

Drag queens shine at Olympics opening, but 'Last Supper' tableau draws criticism:

In an unprecedented display of inclusivity, drag queens took center stage at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, showcasing the vibrant and influential role of the French LGBTQ+ community.

The actual footage is pretty disgusting. I'll let someone else post if they can stomach it.

Iraq
Turkiye stages artillery strikes on Kurd fighters in Iraq
[ARABNEWS] Turkiye staged new artillery strikes against Kurdish separatist positions in northern Iraq, the defense ministry and Iraqi sources said Saturday.

While President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
this month said operations against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Iraq were coming to an end, a security source in northern Iraq said the latest overnight shelling was "intense."

"In line with our right to self-defense... air operations were carried out against terrorist targets in northern Iraq, in the Gara, Qandil and Asos regions," Turkiye’s defense ministry said in a statement.

The Ottoman Turkish army named 25 targets including PKK "caves, bunkers, shelters, stores and installations." Turkiye and most of its western allies consider the PKK to be a terrorist group. It has been fighting the Ottoman Turkish state since 1984.

Kamran Othman, a member of the Community Peacemakers Teams (CPT) group working in Iraqi Kurdistan, said the attacks lasted about 45 minutes and there were no civilian victims of the shelling.

The Ottoman Turkish army said it had "neutralized several terrorists."

CPT says it has recorded more than 230 artillery shelling incidents since June 15, some of which have started fires on agricultural land and hit civilians.

Turkiye says it wants to establish a security zone in northern Iraq and Syria to prevent bad boy incursions.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: July 27, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 23:52 Switzerland has refused to transfer income from frozen Russian assets stored in Swiss banks to Ukraine, Swissinfo writes. This decision was made "in accordance with Swiss law and international obligations." As of April 2024, more than 7 billion Swiss francs belonging to the Russian Federation are frozen in Switzerland.

23:39 Britain is not allowing Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles on Russian territory "over fears of a serious escalation of tensions with Moscow," the Times writes. According to the newspaper, some of London's NATO allies have come to the same decision. Overall, the British government's policy on such strikes "has become so confused that even President Zelensky was confused by a meeting with Keir Starmer," the newspaper notes.

23:27 The Russian army shelled the Korabelnyi district of Kherson in the evening, one person was killed, the OVA reported. Another person was wounded in Kherson as a result of another shelling of the city. In addition, during the day, one person was killed in Antonovka and one was injured in the Belozersk community.

22:34 The Ministry of Defense claims that more than 75% of wounded servicemen return to duty after rehabilitation. "We have a very high percentage of high-quality rehabilitation, return to duty. This is noted by Western partners, those countries that have never had such experience, such a war as ours. This is more than 75% of the wounded. They are after injuries of varying severity," said Deputy Defense Minister Natalia Kalmykova. According to her, today almost every healthcare institution has rehabilitation programs.

21:26 Russian Armed Forces shelled the village of Moskalivka in the Chuguevsky district of the Kharkiv region - as a result of a direct missile hit on a residential building, one person was killed, the prosecutor's office reported. Another person was wounded as a result of an enemy strike on the Kupyansky district.

19:18 Orban spoke of Europe's "self-destruction" and questioned Ukraine's accession to NATO and the EU: "Europe has stopped defending its own interests... All that Europe does today is unconditionally follow the pro-democratic foreign policy of the United States, even at the cost of self-destruction." As for Ukraine, according to the Hungarian Prime Minister, it is unlikely to join NATO or the EU: "We Europeans do not have the money for this. Ukraine will return to the position of a buffer state." At the same time, he added that international security guarantees "will be enshrined in an agreement between the United States and Russia."

17:27 Russians have taken another thousand children from the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region to Kabardino-Balkaria for "recuperation," said ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets. According to him, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has been systematically taking Ukrainian children aged 6.5 to 16 thousands of kilometers away from home. Most of these children have parents who probably give permission for the child to be taken away. "However, to what extent such a choice is free under occupation remains an open question," Lubinets added.

The Human Rights Commissioner emphasized that children are not only forced to adopt the culture and traditions of an enemy state - a powerful resource is being used to destroy their Ukrainian identity, which in turn is a component of the genocidal policy of the Russian Federation.

17:01 GUR confirmed the destruction of three Russian helicopters and showed a video:

16:32 Zelensky announced that in Ukraine, officers' ranks will be awarded to doctors without a military department: "I have signed a decree - a regulation on military service, regulating the service of persons with medical education and the assignment of primary officer rank to doctors who have not completed a military department."

16:15 Russians fired from MLRS at the Glukhiv community in Sumy Oblast - a total of 13 people were wounded, including seven children. One child later died in hospital, the prosecutor's office reported.

16:06 Zelensky instructed the government to provide funding for the creation of a modern rehabilitation hospital with a module for the reintegration of Ukrainians released from captivity and stabilization points for the uninterrupted provision of medical care in the combat zone.

15:43 In the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation, a Su-34 aircraft crashed during a scheduled training flight. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the crew ejected.

15:21 This night and morning, GUR drones attacked a military airfield in Engels in the Saratov region, Dyagilevo in the Ryazan region and the Olenya military airfield in the Murmansk region. Also, as a result of the kamikaze drone attack, an oil refinery in Ryazan was hit, Ukrainian media write, citing intelligence sources. As a result of the UAV hit of the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region, damage to a long-range supersonic bomber-missile carrier TU-22M3 has been preliminarily recorded

The media also reported that recently enemy Mi-28 and Ka-226 helicopters were hit on the territory of the Mil and Kamov National Helicopter Manufacturing Center in the Moscow Region, as well as a multi-purpose Mi-8 helicopter on the territory of the Russian Defense Ministry's Kryazh airfield in Samara.

11:39 Russians shelled a power transmission system and a mine in Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy reported. In particular, on July 26, the enemy shelled power facilities in the Chernihiv region three times, as a result of the attacks, substations and overhead lines were de-energized. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, equipment was damaged at a substation due to a drone attack. In addition, Russian troops shelled a mine in the Donetsk region, causing a fire in the area. At the time of the accident, 86 workers were underground.

11:23 The New York Times writes that Russia complained to the US about Ukraine preparing a "secret operation." According to the newspaper's sources, in July, the new Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov called Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin and said that the Russians had learned about the "secret operation" that Ukraine was allegedly preparing in coordination with the Americans. Pentagon representatives were surprised by this statement, and Belousov's statement was taken seriously. Therefore, the US asked Ukraine not to do this. However, the newspaper does not specify what operation was being discussed.

10:31 At night, Russia attacked Ukraine with a Kh-59/Kh-69 guided air missile and four Shahed-type attack UAVs, the Air Force reported. All targets were shot down in the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions. In addition, over the past and current days, air defense destroyed eight more air targets in the southern and northeastern directions: four Supercam reconnaissance UAVs, one Forpost attack and reconnaissance UAV, one UAV whose type is being determined, and two Lancet loitering munitions.

10:13 Russia attacked Poltava region with drones at night, OVA head Filipp Pronin reported. An industrial facility was damaged, no one was hurt.

09:29 Ermak stated that "the Patriot will be bigger."

08:42 The Russian Defense Ministry announced that 14 UAVs were shot down over the Ryazan Region at night and another seven in the morning. Publics write that the drones were shot down as they approached the oil depot and the Dyagilevo military airfield.

08:29 In the morning in Berislav, Kherson region, a Russian drone attacked a car of an emergency medical team, one person was injured, OVA reported. Over the previous day, eight people were injured as a result of Russian shelling in the region.

08:13 In Donetsk region on July 26 as a result of Russian shelling three people were wounded - two in Konstantinovka and one in Toretsk, reported the head of the OVA Vadim Filashkin.

07:53 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of July 27:

  • personnel - about 573,510 (+1210) people,

  • tanks - 8331 (+11),

  • combat armored vehicles - 16,074 (+24),

  • artillery systems - 15,885 (+45),

  • MLRS - 1125 (+0),

  • air defense systems - 905 (+1),

  • aircraft - 363 (+0),

  • helicopters - 326 (+0),

  • Operational-tactical level UAVs - 12,736 (+53),

  • cruise missiles - 2403 (+1),

  • ships/boats - 28 (+0),

  • submarines - 1 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tank trucks - 21,500 (+86),

  • special equipment - 2671 (+3).

07:32 As a result of Russian attacks in the Zaporizhzhya region, three people were wounded, reported the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov.

06:13 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that the Russians have probably captured two villages in the Donetsk region - Yasnobrodovka and Lozovatskoye near Avdiivka. The Russian army has also been recorded advancing near Svatove in the Luhansk region and near Donetsk. Experts note that the Russians are trying to press along the entire front to prevent Ukraine from seizing the initiative on the battlefield.

Mastering 'the art of brainwashing,' China intensifies AI censorship
[FoxNews] China has once again extended its policy of censorship and surveillance as it looks to keep artificial intelligence (AI) models in check even as it races to advance the ever-expanding technology.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has introduced more regulative measures to make sure its home-based tech companies adhere to the party’s ideological rules.

All AI firms are required to participate in a government review which analyzes the companies' large language models (LLMs) to ensure they "embody core socialist values," as first reported by the Financial Times last week.

China has long worked to suppress information accessible over the internet through the use of its "Great Firewall" — which has been used to block a litany of items perceived as bad for the CCP, such as information surrounding the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre or memes comparing Chinese President Xi Jinping to Winnie the Pooh.

This firewall is being extended to the AI arena as China rushes to advance its technologies while still governing the content it creates.

China’s Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) is now requiring AI companies like ByteDance, Moonshot and 01.AI to take part in a review process that analyzes how effectively their programs are censoring the LLMs they are building.

Chatbot systems are being developed to not only collect sensitive keywords but to also block information on questions relating to banned topics, often involving queries relating to human rights.

The AI systems in turn spit out responses like "try a different question" or "I have not yet learned how to answer this question. I will keep studying to better serve you."

But in a move to prevent the chatbots from blocking too many questions, CAC policies dictate that LLMs should not reject more than 5% of all questions, according to the Financial Times report.

Instead, blanket answers deemed politically correct have been created to answer specific types of questions, though controlling LLMs responses is an uphill battle for developers.

China’s continued pursuit to control the narrative among its own population speaks to a greater threat, AI expert Arthur Herman, senior fellow and director of the Quantum Alliance Initiative with the Hudson Institute, told Fox News Digital.

"That is the future that China has charted for its own citizens," Herman said. "This is also how they see… being able to control the world of others."

Herman pointed to China’s burgeoning relationship with the global south, where social media platforms like WeChat have taken off.

"There will inevitably be a social control, a mind control, element that goes into those programs… and to shape a world that looks more and more like China wants it to look," he said.

Herman also warned that these strategies are not only playing out on internet platforms in authoritarian nations, but anywhere that the platforms are accessible, including the U.S.

"They have mastered the art of brainwashing through TikTok," Herman said. "Chinese engineers have found a way to create a social media platform which is highly addictive, and which is also highly geared towards brainwashing its users to see the world in a certain way and to respond to visual and audio cues in a certain way."

Tech company pulls Olympics advertising after opening ceremony display many deem to be anti-Christian
[FoxBusiness] Mississippi-based C Spire pulled its advertising after being 'shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper' during the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony

The 2024 Olympic Ceremony opened up the games in Paris, France on Friday night, providing spectators with a taste of French culture and blasphemous art, leading to Christians around the world being offended and at least one sponsor dropping out.

Mississippi-based telecommunications and technology company C Spire posted on X that it had pulled all of its advertising from the Olympics over the ceremony’s mockery of painting created to show a biblical moment crucial to the Christian faith.

"We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics," the company posted. "C Spire will be pulling our advertising from the Olympics."

The four-hour spectacle was held along the Seine River, featuring global stars like Celine Dion and Lady Gaga, both of whom are considered icons for the queer community.

Drag Queen Nicky Doll, who competed in the 12th season of "RuPaul’s Drag Race" and has hosted "Drag Race France," participated in a fashion runway segment with "Drag Race France" Season 1 winner Paloma, Season 3’s Piche, and Giselle Palmer.

The queens initially stood alongside the runway while gazing at the strutting models, then later joined in and showcased their own style.

Among their performances was a scene that appeared to evoke Leonardo da Vinci’s "The Last Supper," featuring the drag queens and other performers in a configuration reminiscent of Jesus Christ and his apostles, which drew significant attention and mixed reactions, not just from C Spire, but people around the world. Da Vinci's widely admired masterwork is in Milan, Italy.

Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the opening ceremony, afterward drew attention away from "The Last Supper" references, saying that hadn’t been his intention.

"Our idea was inclusion," Jolly said during an International Olympic Committee media briefing. "Naturally, when we want to include everyone and not exclude anyone, questions are raised.

"Our subject was not to be subversive. We never wanted to be subversive. We wanted to talk about diversity. Diversity means being together," he added. "We wanted to include everyone, as simple as that. In France, we have freedom of creation, artistic freedom. We are lucky in France to live in a free country."

Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet also weighed in.

"We imagined a ceremony to show our values and our principles, so we gave a very committed message," he said. "The idea was to really trigger a reflection. We wanted to have a message as strong as possible.

"Having said that – it is a French ceremony for the French games – so we trusted our artistic director," Estanguet said. "We have freedom of expression in France, and we wanted to protect it."

Bangladesh
Bangladeshi police arrest student protest leaders from hospital
[ARABNEWS] Bangladeshi police have discharged from hospital and arrested the leaders of a student protest that led to nationwide unrest last week, when security forces clashed with demonstrators.

Students have been demonstrating since the beginning of July against a rule that reserves a bulk of government jobs for the descendants of those who fought in the country’s 1971 liberation war.

At least 209 people have been killed and thousands injured, according to a count based on reports in the local media after the protests turned violent mostly peaceful last week.

Most of the casualties were reported in Dhaka, which saw intense festivities between protesters, government supporters, police and paramilitary troops, when the country went into a communications blackout for six days.

Among the injured were student leaders Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud, coordinators of Students Against Discrimination, the main protest organizing group. They were patients at Gonoshasthya Hospital in Dhaka, from where they were arrested by the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Friday evening. Another student leader visiting Islam and Mahmud, Abu Baker Majumder, was detained as well.

Detective Branch chief Harun Or-Rashid told news hounds in Dhaka on Saturday that the trio were tossed into the calaboose "for security reasons" as their families were worried about their safety.

"We took them in our custody to keep them safe," he said.

The student leaders were arrested by a group of more than a dozen plainclothes officers despite objections from medical staff, a hospital worker told Arab News.

"At first, we tried to make them understand that without proper protocols, admitted patients couldn’t be released from the hospital. Later on, they talked with our authorities, and the students were taken from the hospital. There was no way we could hold them further," the hospital worker said on condition of anonymity.

[REGNUM] After the victorious coup d'état in Kyiv in 2014 fell upon the dissenting Donbass, tragedies occurred one after another in Ukraine that were unimaginable even a year earlier. The direct consequence of the bloody "Euromaidan" was the "Odessa Khatyn" on May 2 with the burning of dozens of anti-Maidan supporters, the shooting of people on May 9 in Mariupol, the beginning of fighting in Donbass, the strike of Ukrainian aviation on the building of the Luhansk regional administration on June 2...

19:17 From the Khar'kov direction, the Paratrooper's Diary reports:

"Liptsevsky area. The enemy in the area has increased the intensity of attacks with strike drones, in turn we have pushed the enemy out of the northern and southern parts of Glubokoe.

We have strengthened the electronic warfare in this area, the enemy is losing a lot of birds, and the effectiveness of strikes is also significantly reduced.

On the banks of the Travyanskoye Reservoir, we identify a concentration of enemy manpower and carry out air strikes, thereby disrupting enemy attacks in the direction of Glubokoe.

Foreign mercenaries have been spotted near Liptsi, and our aviation is also dropping FABs there.”

"It's very easy to operate, like a radio-controlled car. It has high cross-country ability, since each wheel has its own motor. The battery lasts for 10 hours of continuous operation. It has shown itself to be a good player in combat," said the operator with the call sign "Strela."

17:52 The advance of units of the Russian Armed Forces continues to the west of Ocheretino in the Avdeevsky direction.

Israeli athletes being given extra security at Olympics
[GEO.TV] Since the last Games — the Winter Olympics held in Beijing in 2022 — wars have erupted in Ukraine and Gaza, providing a tense international backdrop.

Israeli competitors are being escorted by elite tactical units to and from events and are given 24-hour protection throughout the Olympics Games due to the war in Gaza, officials say.

The Israel delegation got some boos, as it sailed by spectators, Reuters reporters saw. Chants of "Palestine! Palestine! Palestine!" rose from the crowd as the boat passed.

DOJ settles with former FBI officials over release of anti-Trump texts
[FoxNews] Strzok celebrated the settlement as a victory for the rights of government employees

The Department of Justice has settled with two former FBI officials over violation of privacy rights.

Former counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page filed suit against the Justice Department over the release of their text message conversations expressing contempt for former President Donald Trump.

According to court documents reviewed by the Associated Press, Strzok settled his case for $1.2 million, while Page received $800,000.

In 2019, Strzok argued in a court filing in Washington, D.C., federal district court that his politically charged anti-Trump messages were protected by the First Amendment even though he sent them on bureau-issued phones while playing leading roles in the probes into both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Strzok, once the FBI's head of counterintelligence, said he was entitled to "develop a full factual record through discovery," and that it would be premature to dismiss the case at this early stage. He went on to argue that the DOJ's position would "leave thousands of career federal government employees without protections from discipline over the content of their political speech."

"This outcome is a critical step forward in addressing the government’s unfair and highly politicized treatment of Pete," said lawyer Aitan Goelam, who is representing Strzok.

Goelam continued, "As important as it is for him, it also vindicates the privacy interests of all government employees. We will continue to litigate Pete’s constitutional claims to ensure that, in the future, public servants are protected from adverse employment actions motivated by partisan politics."

Page also filed suit against the FBI and Department of Justice, alleging the government's publication of her salacious text messages with Strzok constituted a breach of the Federal Privacy Act.

"While I have been vindicated by this result, my fervent hope remains that our institutions of justice will never again play politics with the lives of their employees," Page said in a statement.

Page's complaint also sought reimbursement for "the cost of childcare during and transportation to multiple investigative reviews and appearances before Congress," the "cost of paying a data-privacy service to protect her personal information" and attorney's fees.

Niger: Mohamed Bazoum remains defiant despite detention
[AFRICANEWS] A year ago, Mohammed Bazoum was tossed in a military coup led by General Tiani, who took control of Niger with the support of the army. Since then, the military has solidified its power by limiting freedoms, suspending political parties, and silencing critics.

No timeline for a return to civilian rule has been announced, and Niger has distanced itself from Western allies, drawing closer to Russia.

Bazoum and his wife, Hadiza, have been detained at the presidential residence since October, isolated from the outside world except for regular visits from his doctor.

He has no phone and is under constant guard. His doctor brings him food and books.

Despite these conditions, Bazoum is determined not to resign. A former philosophy professor, he finds solace in reading extensively, from classic authors like Shakespeare and Tolstoy to contemporary writers like Romain Gary. He also reads political works, such as Dominique Moïsi's "The Triumph of Emotions."

Even after a malaria bout weakened him in the spring, Bazoum remains steadfast in his resolve. He refuses to resign, despite the recent lifting of his presidential immunity, which could lead to a trial.

UNRWA's Philippe Lazzarini: Nearly 200 organization members killed in Gaza
[JPost] Hamas will surely supply replacements
United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini stated in a Saturday post on X, formally Twitter, that nearly 200 employees from UNRWA have been killed in Gaza since the beginning of the war.

"These are not numbers, these are our colleagues and our friends. They are teachers, doctors, nurses, engineers, support staff, technicians who spent their life supporting the community," Lazzarini wrote. "Many were killed with their families, others were in the line of duty.

"This is by far the largest loss of personnel killed in a single conflict or natural disaster since the creation of the United Nations — a reality the world must never accept."

He ended the post by calling "for a full accountability for each and every one of these deaths."

Egypt to push ahead with economic reforms, finance minister vows
[ARABNEWS] Egypt’s Finance Ministry is awaiting IMF Executive Board approval of the third review of the country’s economic reform program, scheduled for Monday.

The IMF is expected to disburse $820 million to Egypt after concluding its review, and the government aims to ensure the continued success of future reviews.

Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said the government was strategically managing complex geopolitical factors to improve economic performance.

"We are looking forward to the IMF’s approval of this third review of the economic reform program, aiming for the continued success of forthcoming reviews and pursuing funding through the Resilience and Sustainability Fund," he said in a statement.

Kouchouk’s remarks follow his talks with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on the sidelines of the G20 meetings in Brazil.

The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to achieving fiscal discipline by reducing debt relative to gross domestic product.

"Furthermore, the government aims to create sufficient fiscal space to increase spending on education, health, and social protection, and to reduce inflation rates to stabilize prices, thereby improving living conditions for citizens and supporting the competitiveness of companies."

Kouchouk highlighted the government’s priority to increase private sector investment, and boost productive and export activities.

South African police detain 95 Libyans at suspected military camp
[NEWARAB] South African authorities rounded up 95 Libyans on Friday in a raid at a farm that appeared to have been converted into an illegal military training base, police said.

The morning raid was in a remote area outside the town of White River in the northeastern province of Mpumalanga, about 360 kilometres (220 miles) east of Johannesburg.

"The 95 individuals taken into custody are all Libyan nationals and are currently being questioned by the relevant authorities," police said in a statement.

The Libyans had entered South Africa in April and claimed to be training to be security guards, officials said.

"They allegedly misrepresented themselves on (their) visa application to SA claiming they were coming to train as security guards," police spokeswoman Athlenda Mathe said in a statement on X.

But police in Mpumalanga "suspect they are receiving military training", she said, and they were arrested for contravening the immigration act.

Newzroom Afrika television footage from the scene showed a heavy police presence outside the suspected camp, which included green military-style tents.

It showed the detained men standing in groups and wearing civilian clothing.

A sign leading to the facility described it as an academy offering "specialised security training", an AFP reporter said.

"The place, which was initially designated as a training site, appears to have been converted into an illegal military training base," the police statement said.

No weapons or illegal substances were found on the site immediately but a search was ongoing, a police official told AFP.

The raid was launched after authorities received intelligence about the site in the province, which adjoins Mozambique and Eswatini.

Sudan's RSF accused of abuses as it advances on Sennar city
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have seized six villages southeast of Sennar city, activists said on Friday, amid reports of widespread abuses against civilians and mass displacement.

The RSF announced on Thursday it had taken control of the Al-Suki area, tightening its grip on the city of Sennar, the capital of Sennar state.

“The RSF are spreading in the villages southeast of Sennar like cancer, engaging in their favoured hobby of violations, looting, and abuse of unarmed citizens,” said the Sennar Youth Gathering in a statement.

The group listed the villages of Al-Trirat Al-Kufa, Ibrahim Janqoh, Ku’ Al-Nahl, Trira Madani, Al-Khalij, and Qaladima as being overrun by the RSF, with looting forcing residents to flee.

The RSF seized most of Sennar state in late June, including the strategic Jabal Moya area and the state capital Singa. This allowed the paramilitary group to advance on several localities, leaving the army with control only over Sennar city.

Heavy fighting is expected in Sennar in the coming days, with the RSF mobilizing fighters on four fronts: Jabal Moya from the west, Al-Nuraniya from the south, Al-Suki from the east, and the sugar factory from the north.

Olde Tyme Religion
The Explorer Apostle
[FE] In Chapter 2 of Acts, Jesus Christ instructs the Apostles to go out and spread the good news to the four corners of the earth. Millions have accepted this mission to varying degrees, but missionary David Livingstone took it as a full-on challenge.

David was born into poverty in 1813, the middle of seven children raised in purely industrial areas. His father, a British tea salesman, served as a Sunday school teacher and inspired his middle child to serve the church.

Hell-bent on bringing heaven to earth, Livingstone dedicated himself to expanding the Kingdom of Heaven to areas of the world with the least exposure to the word of God. During his time in seminary, he pondered in which of the four corners of the world he would serve. At first he focused his attention on ministering in China, but due to the First Opium War, those plans fell through. He shifted to India, only to be turned away as a result of India being in good supply of missionaries and doctors. Finally he focused his attention to the Dark continent, which at the time, was damn near unknown. By 1839, he was granted passage to South Africa via the London Missionary Society.

Arriving in Cape Town, South Africa in 1841, Livingstone wasted no time in setting out for the badlands. His first posting was 1000 miles north to Kuruman, and it didn’t take long for him to request funding to explore drastically untouched areas deep within the continent. With every request sent to the London Missionary Society, money and prayers were sent back.

In the bush, his biblical knowledge only would get him so far. He learned the required skills to survive. Hunting, trapping, building, rucking, and mastery of the rifle were all needed unless he was scheduling his appointment with God early.

Within a decade, he had established himself not just as a missionary willing to bear the weight of several crosses, but as an adventurer who was slowly but surely traversing more square footage of uncharted territory than anyone else. By this point, the Royal Geographic Society had already used his information in the mapping of southern Africa, including major and minor waterways, lakes, inlets and tribal information.

The Unhumans - The Secret History of the Communist Revolutions
[Authors Jack Posobiec and Joshua Lisec] If you don’t understand communist revolutions, you aren’t ready for what’s coming.

The old rules are over. The old order is over. Accusations are evidence. Activism means bigotry and hate. Criminals are allowed to roam free. Citizens are locked up. An appetite for vengeance is unleashed—to deplatform, debank, destroy. This is the daily news, yet none of it’s new. Patterns from the past make sense of our present. They also foretell a terrifying future we might be condemned to endure.

For nearly 250 years, far-left uprisings have followed the same battle plans—from the first call for change to last innocent executed, from denial a revolution is even happening to declaration of the new order. Unhumans takes listeners on a shocking, sweeping, and succinct journey through history to share the untold stories of radical takeovers that textbooks don’t teach.

And there is one conclusion: We're in a new revolution right now.

But this is not a book about ideology or politics. Unhumans reveals that communism, socialism, Marxism, and all other radical-isms are not philosophies but tactics—tactics that are specifically designed to unleash terror on everyday people and revoke their human rights to life, liberty, and property. These are the forces of unhumanity. This is what they do. Every. Single. Time. Unhumans steals their playbook, breaks apart their strategies piece by piece, and lays out the tactics of what it takes to fight back—and win, using real-world examples.

Unhumans is an essential listen for every concerned citizen both in the US and worldwide. We must stop what is coming.

Archaeologists from Spain have found the remains of one of the oldest people in Europe
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The remains of one of the most ancient archaic people in Europe were found by Spanish archaeologists during excavations in the Sierra de Atapuerca mountain range, Gran Dolina. This was reported on July 26 in a press release from the Catalan University of Human Paleoecology and Social Revolution.

The remains were discovered 30 years after excavations began at a small testing site. The first remains of this human species, thousands of fossils and animal fossils had been found there.

The research team managed to penetrate deeper into the surface of one of the blocks and there found the remains of a human ancestor who lived 850 thousand years ago. It is specified that fragments of skull bones, ribs, vertebrae, as well as a tooth of particular interest to anthropologists were found. It is assumed that it belonged to a 25-year-old woman whose remains archaeologists found in this region.

In the caves of Gran Dolina in the 1990s, archaeologists found the remains of six people, as well as animal bones and stone tools dating back 780,000 years. The people found were classified as the fossil species Homo antecessor, or the ancestral man. In Europe, this species is the oldest representative of the genus "man".
H. antecessor is possibly the common ancestor of H. sapiens and H.neanderthalensis. Possibly H. heidelbergensis is in there, too. Hopefully they’ll find more fossils to study soon — the suspense is killing me.
Earlier, Regnum News Agency reported that a group of paleontologists from the Australian Curtin University discovered a new species of large pterosaurs that lived in the Late Cretaceous period about 100 million years ago.

On June 2, an international team of scientists discovered a previously unknown new species of dinosaur in Zimbabwe. Archaeologists found their remains on the shores of Lake Kariba and named the lizards Musankwa sanyatiensis.

Paleontologists at the Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences reported on May 23 the discovery of a new species of carnivorous dinosaur in Patagonia. The lizards lived during the Cretaceous period about 69 million years ago, and scientists have named them Koleken inakayali.

Russian Frigate Shtandart ordered to leave Spanish territorial waters
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Russian sailing frigate Shtandart must leave the territorial waters of Spain. This order came from the Maritime Directorate in the Spanish autonomous community of Galicia.

Russian frigate Shtandart ordered to leave Spanish territorial waters
The vessel, which is having difficulty entering ports in the European Union due to anti-Russian sanctions introduced at the end of June, was off the coast of La Isla de Arousa. Law enforcement agencies said the frigate had entered the kingdom's waters without permission. The frigate set out from Spain at around 19:00 local time (around 20:00 Moscow time).

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 23, the Russian vessel was not allowed into France. This happened after the EU added a wording about “copies of historical vessels,” which is what the frigate is, to the anti-Russian sanctions.

The head of the Mor Glaz seamen's aid association, Jean-Paul Elkan, criticized the decision of the Brest port. He noted that he had communicated with a pro-Ukrainian association that sought sanctions against the frigate. The head stated that they have no ideology, but only one goal - to destroy everything Russian. He also added that by denying the Russian frigate the opportunity to moor in the port of Brest, the French authorities demonstrated their weakness.

Political scientist and specialist in interethnic conflicts Evgeny Mikhailov, in a commentary to the Regnum news agency, called France's refusal to allow the vessel into the country's port a gross violation of the rules. He emphasized that it was France that was at the origins of the general international rules of maritime traffic, port calls, and others, while it itself does not comply with them.

After that, the ship decided to go to Spain and moor in the port of Vigo, but was refused there too. In an interview with the Regnum news agency, the captain of the Shtandart, Vladimir Martus, said that in 25 years of the frigate's travels and participation in festivals throughout Europe, the sailors had never had any problems, but the sanctions changed everything. He added that many Europeans were outraged by the refusal to moor the ship, and the crew itself intends to go to court. There are 15 people from seven countries on board, including three teenagers.

The crew of the Russian frigate Shtandart found a solution to the problem with water and food

[Regnum] Residents of one of the cities on the island of Il-Arousa began to help the crew of the Russian frigate Shtandart replenish food and water supplies. This was reported on July 27 by the REN TV channel.

The article notes that the residents of the Spanish island themselves offered to bring water on local fishing boats. They also take the crew to the shore to replenish their food supplies.

Thus, the video recording from on board the ship shows the frigate’s crew loading bags filled with food on board.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 23, the Russian vessel was not allowed into France. This happened after the EU added a wording about “copies of historical vessels,” which is what the frigate is, to the anti-Russian sanctions.

The decision of the port of Brest was criticized by the head of the association for assistance to seamen Mor Glaz Jean-Paul Elkan. He noted that he had communicated with the pro-Ukrainian association, which sought sanctions against the frigate. The head of Mor Glaz stated that they have no ideology, but only one goal - to destroy everything Russian.

170 killed in days-long Israeli operation, says Gaza civil defense
[ARABNEWS] Gaza’s civil defense agency said Saturday that Israel’s military operation around Khan Yunis has killed about 170 people and wounded hundreds since it started on Monday.

“Since the beginning of the Israeli military operation in the Khan Yunis area, we are talking of approximately 170 martyrs and hundreds of wounded,” agency spokesman Mahmud Bassal told AFP.

He said many people had been displaced again on Saturday as the Israeli operation continued.

“The questions is where will these residents go?” Basal said.

“Anyone who sees the situation in Khan Yunis will witness thousands of people spread out on the ground, on the roads, in areas that unfortunately are not suitable for living.

“With no other options available, they are exposing themselves to death.”

Earlier on Saturday the military issued new evacuation orders for residents of the southern city, after retrieving the bodies of five Israelis and warning of new operations.

The United Nations said more than 180,000 Palestinians have fled Khan Yunis since the Israeli operation began on Monday.

The evacuation orders and “intensified hostilities” have “significantly destabilized aid operations,” it added, reporting “dire water, hygiene and sanitation conditions” across the Palestinian territory.

The Israeli military said it launched the operation to halt rocket fire from the area, which already saw heavy fighting earlier this year.

On Wednesday, it said troops had retrieved the bodies of five Israelis from the area.

They had been killed during the Hamas attacks of October 7 and their bodies taken back to Gaza, the military said.

On Saturday, it ordered residents from more parts of Khan Yunis “to temporarily evacuate to the adjusted humanitarian area in Al-Mawasi” — the second such adjustment made to the safe zone within a week.

JI ready for month-long sit-in if demands not met, warns Hafiz Naeem
[GEO.TV] Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has warned that his party's anti-inflation sit-in in Rawalpindi can last for a month if the government did not pay heed to the demands that included slashing the electricity prices.

"Our sit-in is not of two or three days but can last for a month," the JI chief said while addressing the sit-in participants at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi.

A day earlier, the JI activists from across the country converged on Islamabad to stage a sit-in, however, after being denied permission to hold demonstration in the federal capital’s D-Chowk area the party moved its sit-in to Rawalpindi.

The politico-religious party has put forward 10 conditions for ending its protest sit-in staged against inflation including massive hike in electricity tariffs as it formed a committee to hold talks with the government.

The JI emir announced that the sit-in would be staged at the parliament's door if the incumbent government showed non-seriousness in fulfilling the demands.

JI Naib Emir Liaqat Baloch, addressing the participants of the sit-in, confirmed that the leadership has been contacted by the interior minister and other personalities from the federal government to hold dialogue.

Baloch said that the JI emir welcomed the dialogue offer from the government’s side and demanded the immediate release of the arrested workers. "We have prepared our demands with the help of experts," added the politico.

The party on Friday claimed at least 1,150 of its workers were arrested while trying to march on Islamabad after authorities imposed Section 144 in the federal capital and across Punjab.

Mali army fights separatists on Algeria border
[NEWARAB] Mali troops and their Russian allies on Thursday battled separatist rebels near the border with Algeria, a front man for the rebels and a witness told AFP.

The junta that took power in 2020 has made a priority of securing all of the country from separatists and jihadist bad boys.
A good priority. Happy hunting, guys!
It has claimed several victories in recent weeks and on Wednesday launched an offensive on Tinzaouatene, near the border with Algeria.

Mohammed Elmaouloud Ramadane, a front man for the CSP-DPA mainly ethnic Touareg separatist alliance,
…the current name of the Azawad separatists…
said that Mali troops and "Russian mercenaries from the Wagner group" had "tried to take possession of Tinzaouatene, the last base of civilians who fled their abuses".

"We have inflicted many casualties on the Wagner mercenaries and the auxiliaries of the Malian army," the front man added.

The Mali army made no immediate comment, but a military source said the army was "continuing to secure national territory".

A civilian source speaking from the Algerian side of the border said that firing could be heard in Mali.

Separatist groups lost control of several districts in 2023 after a military offensive that saw junta forces take Kidal, the pro-independence northern bastion and a major target for the government.

Government Corruption
Biden set to unveil major Supreme Court reform plans next week
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family...
is reportedly planning to unveil a dramatic Supreme Court reform next week in an attempt to overhaul the high court.

Two people familiar with the matter told Politico that the president is likely to endorse establishing term limits for justices, and bring in a code of ethics.

The 81-year-old is expected to push for an amendment that would limit immunity for presidents and other officeholders.
An amendment to the US Constitution? Does his team — since clearly he won’t be involved — have any idea what has to be done to pass such a thing? It takes a great deal more than a phone and a pen.
His amendment would come directly after the court ruled that presidents are shielded from prosecution for officials acts, in a case brought by Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...
According to the outlet, the specifics remain unclear and could still change sources said.

It is said that Biden will call for the overhaul while on a trip to Texas, where he is set to speak at the Lyndon Baines Johnson presidential library in Austin.

The White House declined to comment, referring to remarks earlier this week from his press secretary that he believes the SC should be 'held to a high ethics'

After the court ruled on Trump's immunity case, Biden called the decision 'dangerous' and said it would embolden Trump if the Republican is reelected.

He warned that the conservative-leaning court 'fundamentally changed' a bedrock principle of the nation.
"We win. You lose"
Biden said: 'This nation was founded on the principle that there are no kings in America.

'Today's decision almost certainly means that there are virtually no limits on what a president can do.

'This is a fundamentally new principle and it's a dangerous precedent. The only limits will be self-imposed by the president alone.'

The Court's 6-3 ruling practically insured that Trump wouldn't face another trial before the November election.

The DC Swamp & its media arm has known Biden is an empty cell for years. Yet the (D's) & yes (R's) have avoided the 25th and Serious Impeachment for 2+ years. Why?

So, when will the Puppet Masters running the White House behind the scenes be arrested and put on display?

At this point, the Ruling Council - it sure as hell ain't POTUS - doesn't give a damn if it's Constitutional or not, if they ever knew/cared in the first place. This is a naked attempt to gain votes, and it will go nowhere. The best part is that when SCOTUS shoots it down, they can blame the justices and the whole process starts again.

I mean, if you think it's bad now...if Trump wins, he's going to nominate at least one justice, and that will be a bloodbath of legendary proportions, even with GOP control of the Senate.

#13  Changing the court, as in number of justices is not something that would drive an amendment to the constitution. There is nothing in the constitution that dictates the number of justices. There is, however, constitution verbiage that declares them there for life and their funding, paycheck, can never be lowered. So to put term limits would definitely drive and constitutional amendment.

22 dead in shelling of El-Fasher
[ARABNEWS] Besieging Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese paramilitary forces pounded El-Fasher on Saturday, witnesses said, killing 22 people in Darfur’s last city outside their control, according to a hospital source.

El-Fasher has become a key battleground in the 15-month-long war pitting the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, or RSF, against the regular army.

The battle for the North Darfur state capital, seen as crucial for humanitarian aid in a region on the brink of famine, has raged for more than two months.

Witnesses said El-Fasher had come under heavy artillery bombardment by the RSF on Saturday. "The shelling destroyed some houses," one witness said.

Palestinian fighters threaten PA security services after Tulkarm hospital incident
[NEWARAB] Paleostinian fighters threatened to shoot members of the Paleostinian Authority's (PA) security services on Friday after forces allegedly tried to arrest a senior murderous Moslem from a hospital in the occupied West Bank.

The Jenin Battalion, affiliated with Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
's armed wing the al-Quds Brigades, made the threat after the alleged attempt to raid Tulkarm's Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital to arrest Mohammed Jaber.

Both Fatah, the faction that dominates the Paleostinian Authority, and the local governor said security forces entered the hospital for other reasons. Fatah said forces sought to protect Jaber after reports of Israeli special forces in the city.

Jaber, also known as Abu Shujaa, commands the Tulkarm Battalion affiliated with the al-Quds Brigades.

The Jenin Battalion said in a statement: "We direct our message to personnel of the security services.

"We declare before God and all people that they, like the enemy [Israel], only understand the language of bullets and force.

"If anyone attacks us, we will attack them in kind. And those who abuse or shed the blood of the mujahideen [fighters] and the mothers of the deaders will meet our response accordingly."

The Jenin Battalion said "masked and heavily armed" members of the security forces "appeared before us" to "besiege and storm one of the hospitals in Tulkarm, attempting to arrest the commander and man pursued by the occupation [Israel] Abu Shujaa al-Jaber after he was injured".

The group said security forces had done this before in the city of Jenin, trying to "arrest and abduct" members of the Jenin Battalion from a hospital there.

"They also assaulted the mothers of the deaders who went to protect their sons, and they had done the same previously with the mothers of the deaders of the Jenin Battalion who were visiting the city of Tulkarm," the group added.

Paleostinian Islamic Jihad said in a statement that "before the ink has dried on the reconciliation agreements signed at the Beijing conference" the PA's security services "have proceeded to surround" Abu Shujaa.

Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
announced on Tuesday it had signed an agreement in Beijing with other Paleostinian organizations including rivals Fatah to work together for "national unity", with China describing it as a deal to rule Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
together once the war ends.

Israel's war on Gaza has killed at least 39,258 people, according to the coastal enclave's health ministry.
Contradictory statements

Fatah and the governor of Tulkarm issued two contradictory statements about what happened at Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital but agreed on defending the security services.

Governor Mustafa Taqatqa said Paleostinian security stormed the hospital to prevent it from being raided by armed individuals, while the Fatah movement in Tulkarm said the forces entered to protect Abu Shujaa after reports of Israeli special forces in the city.

Taqatqa said an injured person arrived injured at the medical facility and that security went to investigate as normal.

After they arrived, according to the governor, they were shot at and a group of people then tried to storm the hospital and the security forces handled them to maintain the hospital's security and the safety of the patients.

The forces withdrew without making any arrests to preserve Paleostinian blood and protect civil peace.

Fatah in Tulkarm said in its statement that it intervened in cooperation with Taqatqa to maintain internal unity and the security establishment's desire to protect national resources and institutions.

The movement said security forces were present because of information that Israel planned to raid the hospital to arrest an injured person.

Sudan's RSF claims control of Suki, army silent
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) said on Thursday it had seized the town of Suki in Sennar state, about 40 km (25 miles) east of the state capital, while the army did not immediately comment.

The paramilitary RSF said in a statement late on Wednesday that its forces had taken full control of Suki and inflicted heavy losses on the army, capturing dozens of soldiers.

The Sennar Youth Gathering, a coalition of civilian resistance committees, confirmed the RSF had taken control of Suki.

Field sources aligned with the army said their forces had withdrawn to the outskirts of Suki and were working to regain control.

Local sources told Sudan Tribune that battles were also fought on Thursday in the Qaladima area, north of Suki and southeast of Sennar city.

The Sudanese army has not yet officially commented on the RSF’s claims.

The capture of Suki means the RSF now controls six of the seven localities in Sennar state, leaving the army in control of Sennar city only.

The RSF had extended its control over much of Sennar state in June by seizing the strategic Jabal Moya area, before entering Singa and several other towns.

Suki lies on the eastern bank of the Blue Nile and is home to one of Sudan’s most important irrigated agricultural projects.

#1  First the RSF occupies land south of Khartoum on both the Blue and White Nile Rivers. Then it takes Red Sea and Port Sudan. That will leave the so-called government force in a small sector of Khartoum south and a small sector of El Fasher in Darfur. When those two fall the Arab puissance in Sudan will revert back to 11th century occupation of the Nile south of Wadi Halfa. With that, history will be re-written.

Salutatory salvos were fired. The ship was greeted in return from the port fortress. The patrol vessel Neustrashimy and the tanker Yelnya followed the Smolny.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, a detachment of Northern Fleet ships arrived in Cuba on June 12 for an unofficial visit as part of international cooperation. The frigate Admiral Gorshkov, the nuclear submarine Kazan, the tanker Akademik Pashin and the rescue tug Nikolai Chiker entered the port of Havana.

The Russian ships interested the residents of Havana. Many Cubans visited the port, they were able to inspect the ships and take photos. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel visited the Admiral Gorshkov and Kazan. On June 17, the frigate and the nuclear submarine left Havana.

As the Kremlin noted, the visit of naval ships to Cuba is a common practice, especially for such a large maritime power as Russia.

The Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba announced two days ago that the Baltic Fleet ships Smolny, Neustrashimy and Yelnya would call at the port of Havana on July 27. The working visit will last until July 30. Cubans will be able to board the Smolny on July 28 and 29.
