Sodom And Gomorrah Set To Host 2028 Olympics
[Bee] In keeping with the Olympics' commitment to sexual violence and Satan worship, the International Olympic Committee announced today that the 2028 games would be held in the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah.

"They're a natural fit for us," explained Olympic Committee director Max Durgen. "Violent sexual debauchery forced upon unsuspecting visitors? Check. Openly mocking the Lord God? Check. They'll be hard pressed to top Paris, but I think they're up to the task."

According to sources, the Olympic Committee has sought to ensure that fun games between nations meant to promote peace and friendship also destroy the innocence of any children who might be watching. "If you're not sexualizing a little kid who's just trying to watch his country's swim team, what are you even doing?" asked marketing chair Steph Reginald. "Everyone needs to see Jesus mocked when they're wanting to watch gymnastics, and that mockery must include visible testicles. It's what the Olympics are all about, and that's why Sodom and Gomorrah will be the perfect host cities."

After years of being a pariah over their history of sexual violence, Sodom and Gomorrah have seen a dramatic change in fortune over the past decade. "People have really come around," said Sodom mayor Bangs Magill. "We're really excited to welcome so many visitors, and show them that famous Sodom hospitality we're known for."

At publishing time, France had decided to give Sodom a run for its money by doing a closing ceremony featuring a live virgin sacrifice to Beelzebub.

Ukraine Hits Russian Base 1200 mi from border - destroys tu-22M23
Ukrainian drones have hit a remote Russian airbase in the Arctic, destroying at least one strategic bomber, it has been reported.

Ukrainian media said the attack on the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region damaged a Tupolev Tu-22M3 long-range supersonic bomber-missile carrier, which can fire AS-4 heavy anti-ship or Kh-22 cruise missiles.

Ukraine had downed a Tu-22M3 for the first time on April 19 according to Ukraine's air force, with the aircraft crashing in Russia's Stavropol Krai just after Russia launched an attack on Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region.

French police arrest far-left activist in connection to rail network sabotage
[IsraelTimes] Train service resumes after weekend repairs; official says ultra-left actors may have been ‘manipulated’ into committing attack hours before Olympics opening ceremony

French authorities arrested an ultra-left activist at a site of national rail company SNCF on Monday, a police source said, days after sabotage attacks paralyzed the network just before the Olympic opening ceremony.

The man was detained at Oissel in northern La Belle France on Sunday and had access keys to SNCF technical premises, tools and literature linked to the ultra-left, the source told AFP, asking not to be named.

At the same time, police said that the fiber optic networks of several telecommunications operators had been "sabotaged" in six areas of La Belle France, although Gay Paree was not affected.

There was no immediate indication of whether that incident was connected to Friday’s attack on the rail network.

Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said earlier on Monday that La Belle France was leaning toward the likelihood that far-left snuffies were behind the train network damage last Friday, which coincided with the Olympic Games opening ceremony.

Saboteurs had struck La Belle France’s high-speed train network with predawn attacks on signal substations and cables at critical points, causing travel chaos hours before the opening ceremony.

"We have identified the profiles of several people," Darmanin told La Belle France 2 TV, regarding the hunt for those saboteurs. He added that the saboteurs’ mode of operation bore the hallmarks of far-left Death Eaters, without providing examples.

Far-left French anarchists have a history of targeting the train network with arson attacks.
Far-left French anarchists have a history of targeting the train network with arson attacks.

The attacks were "deliberate, very precise, extremely well-targeted," Darmanin said, adding that this was "the traditional type of action of the ultra-left."

Asked whether the profiles that were identified in connection to the attack were close to the far left, Darmanin said: "We must be cautious."

He said the question was whether the actors were "manipulated" into carrying out the criminal act, or if they did it "for their own benefit."

"These are people who may be close to this movement," the interior minister added, without expanding further.

A statement signed by "an unexpected delegation" was sent to several news media outlets expressing support for the sabotage and criticizing the Olympic Games as being a "celebration of nationalism" and the oppression of peoples by nation-states.
Darmanin said the statement was "something that resembles a claim," but cautioned that "we must be careful because it could be an opportunistic claim."

It remained unclear if the sabotage was deliberately timed to disrupt the Games’ opening spectacle on Friday evening.

All trains were back up and running by Monday morning after teams worked around the clock over the weekend to fix the damage, Transport Minister Patrice Vergriete said on RTL radio.

The attacks affected 800,000 travelers, but "in the end, 700,000 were able to make their trips" while 100,000 were hit by train cancellations, he said.

Since the attacks, 50 drones, 250 rail security agents and 1,000 maintenance workers were deployed to tighten security along the 28,000-kilometer (17,400-mile) high-speed train network, the minister said, adding that the incident would likely cost millions of euros.
Breitbart adds:
Over the weekend a message of support and praise for the attack on France’s railway network was sent anonymously to several French newspapers. Broadsheet Le Figaro stated the message was written using the language of “anarchist ultra-left activists”, and said of the Paris Olympics opening ceremony which the sabotage had apparently been intended to impact: “They call this a party? We see it as a celebration of nationalism, a gigantic staging of the subjugation of populations by States”.

Nevertheless, Darmanin stopped short of naming any specific left-wing group of movement, saying there was still time for caution and that the saboteurs may be adjacent to a movement. Of the “anarchist ultra-left” message, he said it could be an opportunistic move rather than by the saboteurs themselves.

Further developments over the weekend suggest more railway sabotage may have been planned after Friday’s major attack. On Sunday, what Darmanin called an “ultra-left militant” was arrested at a French railway facility. The man was found in a vehicle and had with him railway access keys, a pair of wire cutters, and “far-left” literature.

As intoned by the French interior minister Darmanin, cable cutting has emerged as a distinct, if little studied tactic of the “ultra-left” in several European countries this century. While these often considerable acts of sabotage tend to receive little press coverage, and the Paris Olympics attack may be the first time many will be aware of the fragility of these systems and the willingness of the left to exploit that, sabotage against the modern industrial world continues like a steady drumbeat.

Summarising this history and paraphrasing previous reports:

As reported by Breitbart News in 2022 there was a strikingly similar attack in Germany, where “Backhaul communications cables concerned with the Germany Railway (Deutsche Bahn, DB) radio system, safety-critical equipment without which modern, tightly timetabled and high speed trains cannot safely operate, were “willfully and intentionally severed”.”

The perpetrators were said to have “very precise knowledge of the railway’s radio system” and two cables were cut simultaneously 340 miles apart. As expressed by a German Army General at the time of that attack, the purpose of such attacks are “not about an enemy army with soldiers and tanks attacking our country [but] pinpricks in the population that are intended to stir up uncertainty and shake confidence in our state” and “every substation, every power plant, every pipeline can be attacked”.

These “pinprick attacks” undermining public confidence in the everyday systems of Western life frequently target railways. Cables supplying power to high-speed trains were sabotaged in in 2019 in Italy. As stated at the time, this attack appeared to coincide with a court ruling on a left-wing group said to have bombed a book shop.

In 2019, a radio transmitter was burnt in France. In 2020, 50,000 people lost internet access in greater Paris when cables were cut. This was said to be the culmination of a weeks-long campaign against information infrastructure.

In 2021, a series of attacks against telephone and internet services in France saw data company vehicles burnt, fibre optic cables cut, and a radio tower destroyed. Left-wingers took credit, saying: “it is not to protest against 5G in particular but in a broader context, fighting against the techno-world… We want to salute all the arsonists who are acting in the shadows at the moment and repeatedly beating this technological hell.”

In early 2022, the far-left was suspected over the sabotage of a power station and nine power lines over two nights. This left thousands of homes and a semiconductor factory without power. Days later, several French cities were left totally without internet after data cables in several locations were cut in the same night. The sabotage was done effectively enough, it was said the attackers would have to have “known the network”.
And from Deutsche Welle:
Transport Minister Patrice Vergriete said the cost of the sabotage would "very probably" amount to millions of euros. He told the broadcaster RTL that this included "commercial losses" and "repair costs."

In response to the incident, Darmanin said that 50 drones, 250 rail security agents and 1,000 maintenance workers were deployed to tighten security along the 28,000-kilometer (17,400-mile) high-speed train network.

Darmanin also confirmed that authorities had arrested 45 members of the Extinction Rebellion direct action environmental group. They had planned actions to protest the social and ecological consequences of the Olympics.

Kamala Electric promoted Bus program - mucho problemos
[FreeBeacon] One of Kamala Harris's highest profile responsibilities as vice president has been spearheading the federal government's billion-dollar efforts to deploy thousands of electric buses across hundreds of school districts nationwide....

As part of the first tranche of Clean School Bus program funding two years ago, Harris and EPA administrator Michael Regan unleashed nearly $1 billion in federal rebates for 389 school districts across all 50 states to help deliver a total 2,463 electric school buses. ...

Collectively, those districts have deployed a total of 60 battery-electric or low-emissions propane-fueled school buses.
not stressed in the article is that the electric buses have operational problems, cost a lot to operate and maintain and wear out faster than expected

Why Are Trump-Hating Democrats Being Considered for the Investigation of Trump Assassination Attempt?
[LI] Congress is putting together a bipartisan commission to investigate the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. The House voted 416-0 for its creation. Yet for some reason, Democrats want Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) to be on the panel.

Thompson served as the chairman of the January 6th Committee. He also recently had to fire a staffer who made inflammatory remarks about the attempt on Trump’s life. Most importantly, Thompson tried to strip Trump of Secret Service protection.

Why is he even being considered for this position?

The Federalist reported:

Democrats Eye J6 Chairman Who Tried To Eliminate Trump’s Secret Service Protection To Investigate Assassination Attempt

House Democrats are pushing to have the former Jan. 6 Committee chairman who sought to strip former President Donald Trump of his security detail earlier this year serve on a bipartisan commission investigating the recent assassination attempt.

On Tuesday, Punchbowl News reported that former Jan. 6 Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., is one top candidate Democrats are considering for an appointment to the 11-person panel established by House leadership.

French fiber optic networks ‘sabotaged' days after ‘coordinated' attacks paralyzed rail service ahead of Olympics
France arrested an ultra-left activist related to the train sabotage and dozens of Extinction Rebellion henchmen-persons, so I’m moving the entire story to Page 1: War on Terror.

— trailing wife for the moderators at 9:50 a.m. ET
[NY Post] A number of fiber optic networks have been "sabotaged" across France — just days after arson attacks paralyzed high-speed train services during the Olympics opening ceremony, according to reports.

Cables for several telecom operators were purposely cut in six areas of France earlier Monday, police told the French outlet Agence France Presse.

However, Paris has not been affected by the sabotage.

The cables in electrical cabinets belonging to operators SFR and Bouygues had been cut in southern France, and installations in the Meuse region near Luxembourg and the Oise area near Paris had been vandalized, according to the French paper Le Parisien.

The vandalism is mainly affecting fixed-line services and not mobile devices.

There has so far been no claim of responsibility for the recent attack on the country’s infrastructure.

The incident comes just three days after "coordinated" acts crippled high-speed train services on three major lines connecting Paris with Lille, Bordeaux, and Strasbourg.
A fourth attack on the Paris-Marseille line was foiled by night-shift workers.

The high-speed train disruption ruined travel for at least 250,000 passengers on Friday, including those coming from other parts of Europe, such as the UK, on the Eurostar.

French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal said France’s intelligence services have been mobilized to find the perpetrators of the "acts of sabotage" which he described as "prepared and coordinated."

They had "a clear objective: blocking the high-speed train network" ahead of the Olympics opening ceremony, Attal said,

"Playing against the Games is playing against France, against your own camp, against your country," Sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castera said of the attacks.

Kamala Harris' ‘Equity' Speak Is Code For Communism
[Federalist] Kamala Harris is a communist. That’s not an opinion. She has unwittingly admitted this on video more than once. We begin with this example:

After watching this clip, it’s obvious that Harris outflanks Bernie Sanders to his left, something not to be overlooked considering Sanders is a self-avowed socialist (the fact that Sanders uses the oxymoron "democratic socialist" to describe himself is not relevant).

For 25 Minutes, Secret Service In Command Center Never Notified Trump's Detail
[ZERO] While members of the Secret Service in a Butler, Pennsylvania command center were notified that an individual later identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks was acting suspiciously before he tried to assassinate Donald Trump, members of the former president's secret service detail were not informed of the threat, according to the Washington Post.
Members of former president Donald Trump’s Secret Service detail and his top advisers have privately questioned why they were not informed that local police were tracking a suspicious person before that person opened fire on Trump at his July 13 rally in western Pennsylvania, according to people with direct knowledge of the concerns.

Approximately 20 to 25 minutes before Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at the former president, local countersnipers noticed him behaving strangely and sent his photograph to a command center staffed by state troopers and Secret Service agents, the head of Pennsylvania State Police told a congressional committee Tuesday.
According to three sources, members of Trump's Secret Service detail have complained to confidants and others inside the agency that they were never made aware of the warning, and they had no idea that local countersnipers eventually lost track of Crooks - or that a local police officer who was hoisted onto the roof of the building saw Crooks perched there with a gun.

The South Africanization Of America
[ZERO] From Rhodesia To South Africa

In a post last week (Remembering Rhodesia), I shared an X thread by Will Tanner about the history of Rhodesia, and what it tells us about today. Below I share a follow up thread by him about post-Apartheid South Africa, and how America is following in its foot steps.

US court rules boneless chicken wings don't have to be bone-free
[GEO.TV] An Ohio's top court ruled that boneless chicken wings can have bones, dismissing a lawsuit filed by a man who fell ill after consuming a piece of bone from his order.

Earlier this week, the court clarified that the term "boneless wings" refers to a cooking style and should not be interpreted literally.

In 2016, Michael Berkheimer had visited the restaurant with his wife and friends at a restaurant in Hamilton, Ohio, where he ordered what has been described as his "usual" — boneless wings with parmesan garlic sauce, the BBC reported.

He noticed a piece go down uncomfortably.

Three days later, he began to feel feverish and went to the emergency room. Doctors discovered a long, thin bone that caused a tear in his oesophagus and a subsequent infection.

This led to Berkheimer filing a lawsuit and accusing the restaurant of failing to warn him that the "boneless wings" might contain bones.

He also accused the supplier and the farm that produced the chicken of negligence.

Lower courts had dismissed Berkheimer's suit, which then landed in the state's supreme court.

The top court's 4-3 decision emphasised that it is common sense to exercise caution for the potential presence of bones in boneless wings.

So what the judge is saying, is that the restaurant can serve cricket chunks because boneless chicken wings is a technique. Madness.

#4  pretty sure that Popeyes, 7-11 and other major chains have removed all the bones or ground them so they are indistinguishable from the chicken

also pretty sure that when you sit at a table at a restaurant you cut the individual pieces with a knife

but whatever

#5  In case it matters to anyone, the restaurant in question is Wings on Brookwood, according to CBS News, a family owned restaurant whose menu contains variations on hamburgers, sandwiches, and deep fried chicken wings. I imagine their chicken wings are poured out of big restaurant supply freezer bags, rather than being individually cut off the carcasses of freshly slaughtered, free range birds.

3 Palestinian terror suspects caught after crossing border illegally as overwhelmed agents warn: ‘I probably let terrorists in'
[NY Post] Border agents detained three Palestinian migrants who illegally crossed the southern border after they were found to have possible ties to terrorist organizations earlier this month, according to sources.

One of the migrants had "salacious photos" on their phone — including a picture of a masked man holding an AK-47 rifle, federal law enforcement sources said.

In addition to the three Palestinians, federal authorities caught one migrant from Turkey who was also suspected of having ties to terror groups.

The migrants were among groups of dozens of migrants who turned themselves into border agents at the San Diego sector, said sources.

An investigation into the migrants is ongoing, sources said. The group was transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating their cases.

It’s the latest example of potential security threats entering the US via the southern border — especially at San Diego.

Overwhelmed Border Patrol agents tell The Post that they do not have the tools to fully vet the migrants who are coming in from all over the world — particularly into the San Diego area.

Mostly, they are only able to use US terror watchlists and other American resources to help determine which migrants could be a terror threat. Border agents do not have access to terror or criminal databases from other countries.

"Knowing who these guys are, we have, like, no access to anything international. Like, we really don’t and it kind of sucks," said one border agent, who spoke anonymous because they were not authorized to give public statements.

"I wanted to get into Border Patrol and protect from terrorists. And it’s like, well, I probably let terrorists in the country."

A Customs and Border Protection spokesperson didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

It’s unclear which terrorist organization the migrants were allegedly affiliated with.

However, border agents in the San Diego sector were warned to be on the lookout for individuals tied to Palestinian terrorist groups after the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel.

"San Diego Field Office Intelligence Unit assesses that individuals inspired by, or reacting to the current Israel-Hamas conflict may attempt travel to or from the area of hostilities in the Middle East via circuitous transit across the Southwest border," the previous alert read.

"Foreign fighters motivated by ideology or mercenary soldiers of fortune may attempt to obfuscate travel to or from the US to or from countries in the Middle East through Mexico," the memo adds, before listing the patches of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah.

The migrants crossed the border just weeks after the Biden administration instituted new policies that restrict the ability of migrants to request asylum — though the executive order has has major loopholes allowing migrants to still be released into the country.

Honduran illegal immigrant suspected for murder in Virginia after authorities ignored multiple ICE detainers
Any connection to narco gangs, or are the merely vicious men who findthe pickings easier here than back home?
[PM] A man who was arrested by the Fairfax County Police Department in connection with a murder case was confirmed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to be a Honduran illegal immigrant. This recent arrest follows a series of previous criminal charges against the same man within the county.

The traumatized body of Nicacio Hernandez Gonzalez, 47, of Fairfax, Virginia, was found at 9500 block of Route 29, per the Fairfax County Police Department. Three suspects have been arrested in the murder case, Maudin Anibal Guzma, 27; Wilmer Adli Guzman, 20; and Wis Alonso Sorto-Portillo, 45.

ICE confirmed to ABC 7 News that murder suspect Anibal Guzman, entered the country illegally and has been arrested multiple times. Earlier this year, in March, he was arrested and charged with malicious assault for severely injuring a victim, among other offenses. However, he failed to appear in court. On June 28, Guzman was arrested again, this time charged with malicious wounding. Despite multiple immigration detainers issued by ICE, the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office did not honor them.

In the past 12 months, the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center has housed 725 "undocumented individuals," according to the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office. Of these, only three have been transferred to ICE, as reported by ABC 7 News. Many of these inmates are held for violent crimes or child sex crimes, yet the sheriff’s office continues to refuse ICE's immigration detainers, resulting in most inmates being released back into the community.
How are house prices trending in Fairfax County nowadays?
Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Kincaid has stated in a letter that she requires a judicial warrant to transfer inmates to ICE despite detainers being issued.

The actions of Fairfax County are drastically different than the procedures of Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman, who honors detainers without a judicial warrant. This has enabled ICE to deport nearly 100 illegal immigrants from his county over the past two years.

"We need to make sure that we're not keeping these people in our community that can do further harm," Chapman explained. "It makes no sense to me to allow these people to stay in the area and then commit another crime if we know for a fact that they're violent and that they're here illegally."

Chapman elaborated on his office’s procedure: "When we arrest somebody, we immediately run them to see whether they're here illegally or not. And if in fact they are and we notify ICE, then ICE has to make some determination whether or not it's somebody they want to detain - whether it's somebody they want to come and pick up. We notify ICE as to when that person might appear before a magistrate, when they might appear before a judge and how much time they have to actually get out there and pick them up."

China-Japan-Koreas
US to announce new military command in Japan on Sunday
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The United States is creating a new military command in Japan, which will be announced on July 28, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The statement will be made at a meeting between US State Department and Pentagon Secretary Antony Blinken and Lloyd Austin with Japanese Foreign Minister and Defense Minister Yoko Kamikawa and Minoru Kihara.

The American command will coordinate its military operations with the Japanese Armed Forces, as well as plan joint exercises and participate in the defense of the country in the event of war.

The decision was made to protect against China, which is “building up its military might,” the publication reported. The decision will allow the United States to withdraw its forces in Japan from the Indo-Pacific Command.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, in mid-July NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced the alliance's plans to expand joint military exercises with Japan. It is planned to involve the navy and air force. The alliance's leadership explained this by the "need to maintain security in Europe and Asia."

Japanese media previously reported that at a meeting of the heads of the US and Japanese Foreign and Defense Ministries, the heads of the departments will agree on the two countries' course to increase the production of missiles for the Patriot PAC-3 missile defense systems. The missiles are produced in Japan and then delivered to the US.

16:44 Telegram channel «Fisherman»:

Pokrovsk direction: liberation of most of Novoselovka Pervaya and aggravation of the crisis of defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The crisis of the Ukrainian Armed Forces defense in the Pokrovsk direction continues to worsen: over the past few days, Russian troops have significantly advanced both on the northern and southern flanks. While passions and the search for those responsible for the loss of new positions are running high in the enemy's information space, the Russian Armed Forces' attack aircraft are gradually approaching the liberation of several more settlements.

On the Timofeyevka-Zhelannoye line, Russian troops have liberated Lozovatskoye and are now advancing in the vicinity of populated areas.

Further south, the Russian Armed Forces have taken control of the C050913 highway between Lozovatskoye and Progress and several forest belts to the west of it. A video has recently been circulated online showing stormtroopers seizing a Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold located in the northern part of this section of the road, which confirms our information about its occupation by Russian troops.

To the southwest of Progress, the Russian Armed Forces have captured Volchye after several days of fighting and are now advancing along the railway towards Zhelannoye station.

According to some information, assault groups have already reached the eastern outskirts of Vesyoloye, as well as the outer forest belts in front of Zhelannoye, which is about one kilometer away. The enemy positions in both villages are being actively processed by Russian aviation and artillery, while Russian UAV crews are hunting for Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment.

For now, Russian troops are moving around the enemy's main defensive lines, gradually enveloping them from the north. After the liberation of Zhelannoye, several large enemy strongholds to the east of the village will be at risk of encirclement, which in the event of a frontal assault could cause a lot of inconvenience to the Russian Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have also equipped positions in the area from Vesyoloye to Sergeyevka, in front of which "dragon's teeth" fields have been built. In the future, Russian troops will have to overcome this line as well for a further offensive to the west.

The battles for Novoselovka Pervaya, which began more than a week ago, are coming to an end. On July 24, fighters from the 114th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces published a video with a Victory banner fluttering in the southwestern part of the settlement, which indicates that most of it has been captured.

However, according to preliminary data, the village has already been completely liberated by Russian troops, along with a wide section of the front to the south, right up to the Umanskoye-Yasnobrodovka line.

The trend towards worsening the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Pokrovsk direction continues: the enemy, despite active counterattacks, is unable to stabilize the situation. Ukrainian formations also complain about the increased activity of Russian drones in the vicinity of Pokrovsk, which leads to serious losses in vehicles and armored vehicles.

At several key areas, the Russian Armed Forces achieve success and bypass the enemy's powerful defensive positions, creating a threat of encirclement. The further actions of the Russian Armed Forces command and their strategic goal remain unclear to us and, probably, to the enemy. Will it be Pokrovsk or a turn to the south in the direction of Selidovo-Ukrainsk, we will find out in the near future.

The strike was carried out with guided and unguided air-launched missiles. All designated targets were hit.

13:09 Russian troops undertake active offensive actions in the Konstantinovka area. The advance is no less than 500 meters.

– To the northeast of Ugledar, Russian fighters took another Ukrainian position.

– The control zone has been expanded in the Rabotino area, the situation to the northwest of the settlement remains unclear.

[KavkazUzel] The ban on hijab is unacceptable under Islamic law, and it is recommended to remove the niqab in educational institutions, said the imam-khatib of the central mosque of Nalchik Murad Ulbashev. Outside educational institutions, the niqab can be worn, he emphasized in a sermon published by the Muftiate of Kabardino-Balkaria.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov proposed to give educational institutions the right to ban the wearing of religious clothing, as well as to empower legislative and municipal assemblies to impose a ban on wearing religious clothing in public places. State Duma deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Mikhail Matveyev and Sergei Obukhov also prepared a bill that proposes introducing fines for wearing clothing that conceals the face in public places.

The Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus appealed to the President of Russia and the State Duma with a request not to adopt Davankov's bill banning religious clothing. The muftis of the North Caucasus stated that this decision violates the rights of believers. Commentators on the social network supported their appeal, noting that Davankov's initiative has already caused a split in society .

Wearing the niqab is a custom and not an obligation for Muslim women, the Muftiate of Kabardino-Balkaria stated after the idea of banning niqabs was supported by the Muslim administrations of Dagestan and Karachay-Cherkessia.

The sermon of the imam-khatib ( and mam-khatib is the one who leads the joint prayer and conducts the Friday sermon, and also has the art of oral speech and can influence the thoughts and feelings of the mosque parishioners, as stated on the website of the Russian Muslim Spiritual Directorate, - note of the "Caucasian Knot" ) Murad Ulbashev in the central mosque of Nalchik on the topic: "The issue of wearing the niqab" was brought to the attention of "Gazeta Yuga".

The imam stated that there are disagreements among scholars on the issue of niqab. "The Spiritual Administration of our republic also adheres to this opinion, and a person has the right to choose for himself. The only thing I would like to say about niqab is to quote the words of scholars who refute the nonsense that some people are now saying - like, niqab is not a Shariah prescription, but an Arab tradition," his words are quoted in the publication's Telegram channel.

Ulbashev pointed out the inadmissibility of banning the hijab in educational institutions. "Therefore, the muftis of the North Caucasus made an appeal to the president of the country to prevent such laws. Therefore, the recommendation in nature, the request of the spiritual administration, is that our sisters do not wear the niqab in educational institutions until the issue with the hijab is resolved. Outside the educational institution - please. But specifically, when they enter there, the request is that the sisters do not wear the niqab," follows from the video, which was published on the page of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kabardino-Balkaria.

Ulbashev also reminded about the rules of wearing the hijab. "The hijab must be worn as prescribed by Sharia. <...> Previously, only Arab women wore it. Now, unfortunately, among our local sisters, you can see that they wear the hijab and wear pants. Pants with a hijab are not a hijab. Or they wear tight clothes," he added.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: July 28, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 21:57 Zelensky confirmed in an evening video address that the 9th Department of the Main Intelligence Directorate carried out a drone strike at a distance of almost 1,800 km from the Ukrainian border. Earlier, Defense Express military expert Ivan Kirichevsky said that the strike on the Russian Olenya airfield was a record distance for Ukrainian drones: the UAV covered a distance of 1,800 km for the first time.

The head of state also spoke about the situation at the front: "It is extremely difficult in the Donetsk areas, and it is precisely at Pokrovsk that during these weeks there has been the greatest number of Russian assaults - the most severe enemy attacks."

18:36 Zelensky said in an interview with the Japanese television channel NHK that Ukraine will develop an action plan to achieve peace by the end of November. In particular, according to him, Kyiv will begin "detailed discussions with the relevant countries on issues of territorial integrity." At the same time, the president emphasized that he "cannot respond to calls for a ceasefire while Russia continues to occupy Ukrainian territory."

To end the war, Zelensky believes, "patience, support and diplomatic pressure are needed - these are three factors for a fair end to the war." "If the US and European countries remain united, this will be additional pressure and will show Moscow that it has no chance," Zelensky added.

16:13 The Washington Post writes that the F-16 fighters that will soon arrive in Ukraine are unlikely to have an "immediate impact" on the battlefield, since there will be too few aircraft and Russia has too many air defense systems that can shoot them down. The newspaper's sources say that the first F-16s will serve to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses, rather than strike Russian troops and military installations near the front.

The publication also notes that Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway have pledged to provide Ukraine with 80 F-16 fighters, but most of them will not arrive for many years. This year, it will be no more than one squadron - about 20 aircraft - and only six pilots, who are expected to complete training by the end of this summer.

12:58 In northern Mali, Tuareg rebels have routed a column of Russian mercenaries from the Wagner PMC. The CSP-PSD rebel movement announced the elimination of dozens of mercenaries and soldiers of Colonel Assimi Goit's junta, as well as the capture of armored vehicles and trucks with tanks. The rebels also published an appeal to Ukraine, in which they declared their support and readiness to hand over the captured Wagner mercenaries to Kiev.

12:32 Russians shelled Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region, ten people were injured, including two children aged one and ten, reported the head of the OVA, Serhiy Lysak.

12:11 The General Staff confirmed a Ukrainian strike on the Polevaya oil depot in the Kursk region, which consists of 11 tanks with a total capacity of 7,000 cubic meters and is used, in particular, to meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces. Powerful explosions and a fire were recorded - most likely, tanks with oil products caught fire. In addition, the General Staff reports powerful explosions in the area of an electrical substation in the Kursk region. Detailed information on the consequences of the damage to both facilities is being clarified.

11:24 This week alone, Russia has used about 700 guided bombs and more than 100 "shahids" against Ukraine, Zelensky said.

09:53 In the morning, Russian troops shelled the village of Kamyshany in the Kherson region - six people were injured, including three children aged ten, 15 and 16, the OVA reported. Another person was injured in the village of Priozernoye. Over the previous day, four people were killed and four more were injured as a result of Russian shelling.

08:39 In Donetsk Oblast, five people were killed as a result of Russian shelling on July 27: three in Ivanovka, one each in Konstantinovka and Toretsk. Another 15 people in the oblast were injured in the past 24 hours, said OVA head Vadim Filashkin.

08:17 Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in the Kursk region at night, three fuel tanks caught fire, Acting Governor Alexey Smirnov reported. According to him, no residents or workers were hurt, and the fire at one tank has been extinguished.

08:10 Russia attacked Ukraine with a Kh-59 guided air missile and eight Shahed attack UAVs at night, the Air Force reported. Air defense shot down the missile and seven drones. Almost all air targets were destroyed in the Odessa region.

07:43 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of July 28:

  • personnel - about 574,690 (+1,180) people,

  • tanks - 8344 (+13),

  • combat armored vehicles - 16,095 (+21),

Iraq
Iraqi women protest against proposed child marriage law
[SHAFAQ] Hundreds of Iraqi women erupted into the streets of Baghdad on Sunday to protest against proposed amendments to the country’s personal status law, expressing particular outrage over provisions that would legalize child marriage.

Demonstrators, including members of women’s rights organizations, gathered in Tahrir Square, carrying signs that read "No to child marriage" and "The era of child brides is over." The protesters denounced the proposed amendments to Law 88 of 1959, arguing that they would roll back women’s rights.

The Iraqi Parliament has been deadlocked over the proposed amendments, with a recent session being adjourned due to disagreements among politicians over the personal status and general amnesty laws.

Aliya Nasif, a member of parliament, warned that the proposed law would legitimize marriages performed by religious officials, leading to a rise in genetic diseases, birth defects, and the spread of HIV/AIDS. The Iraqi Communist Party also condemned the proposed amendments, arguing that they would exacerbate sectarian divisions.

Abdul Sattar Abdul Jabbar, a prominent Iraqi holy man, criticized the sectarian nature of the proposed amendments, accusing Shiite politicians of using the issue for political gain. "They managed to reach an agreement over this but failed when it came to the general amnesty law," he said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Israel launches devastating raids on Lebanon's south
[ARABNEWS] Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
on Sunday called for an international investigation into a strike that killed 12 people, including children, in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights, warning against a large-scale retaliation.

Hezbollah rejected Israel’s accusation of bombing Majdal Shams on Saturday, saying in a statement that "the Islamic Resistance® has nothing to do with the incident at all, and we categorically deny all the false claims in this regard."

After Hezbollah’s statement, Walid Wally Jumblat
...Druze politician, head of the Progressive Socialist Party, who's been on every side in Leb at least four times. He'll sell you his friends for a dollar, but family comes higher because of shipping and handling...
, former head of the Progressive Socialist Party — the most powerful Druze leader in Lebanon — warned against "what the Israeli enemy is doing to ignite strife, fragment the region, and target its various communities."

His warning came as Israel on Sunday morning carried out intense raids on the villages of al-Abbassieh and Burj al-Shamali near Tyre, southern Lebanon, causing widespread destruction.

It also raided the border villages of Tayr Harfa and Khiam, and targeted a residential building in Taraya, central Bekaa, with two missiles, destroying the building but causing no casualties.

The attack in Majdal Shams came hours after a raid by Israel on the southern border village of Kfarkila, in which four Hezbollah members were killed.

In a statement, the Lebanese government condemned "all acts of violence and attacks against all civilians," adding that "targeting civilians is a flagrant violation of international law and contradicts the principles of humanity."

It called for an "immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts."

Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib said in a statement on Sunday that "since the beginning of the war, Hezbollah has been targeting military sites and not civilians, and I don’t think that it carried out this attack in Majdal Shams."

He added: "It might be planned by other organizations ... an Israeli mistake or even an error on Hezbollah’s part, I don’t know. We need international investigation to uncover the truth."

In a joint statement, UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert and UNIFIL head of mission and force commander Lt. Gen. Aroldo Lazaro condemned "the death of civilians, including young children and teenagers, in Majdal Shams," stressing that "civilians must be protected at all times."

They urged "the parties to exercise maximum restraint and to put a stop to the ongoing intensified exchanges of fire, as they could ignite a wider conflagration that would engulf the entire region in a catastrophe beyond belief."

The UN special coordinator held a phone call with Parliament Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri

...perennial Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians...
, who is considered the most important channel of communication with Hezbollah.

According to his press office, Berri affirmed that "Lebanon and its resistance are committed to UN Resolution 1701 and the rules of engagement by refraining from targeting civilians."

Berri added that "the resistance’s denial of involvement in the Majdal Shams incident strongly reaffirms this commitment and underscores that neither Lebanon nor the resistance is responsible for what happened."

UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said his organization was in contact with the parties to diffuse the tension.

Jumblat received a phone call from the US mediator to the Middle East, Amos Hochstein, who expressed concern over the escalating situation on the southern Lebanese front after the Majdal Shams incident.

Jumblat tried to diffuse the situation, since most of the Majdal Shams’ residents are Druze.

He said that "targeting civilians is rejected and condemned, be it in occupied Paleostine, the occupied Golan, or in southern Lebanon," adding that "the history of the Israeli enemy is filled with massacres against civilians."

Activists and supporters on TV channels and social media platforms denied Hezbollah’s involvement in the Majdal Shams attack, noting that "there are no settlers in Majdal Shams for the party to target, and it knows that."

"The Prime Minister said there must be immediate steps toward a ceasefire, so that hostages can be released and more humanitarian aid can get in for those in desperate need," Starmer’s office said in a statement released on Sunday.

"The Prime Minister reiterated his ongoing support for Israel’s right to self-defense in accordance with international law," the statement said.

Starmer met Herzog in Gay Paree where both were attending the Olympics.

In a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on July 7 shortly after Starmer took office, he "set out the clear and urgent need for a ceasefire," according to a previous British government statement.

Starmer on Sunday said there was no moral equivalence between Israel and Hamas and expressed his condolences for the deaths of five hostages kidnapped during the Hamas-led attack on Israel on Oct. 7 whose bodies had recently been recovered.

About 1,200 people were killed and 250 were taken hostage in the Oct. 7 attack, according to Israeli tallies.

More than 39,000 Paleostinians have been killed in the Israeli offensive in Gaza, according to local health authorities, who do not distinguish between fighters and non-combatants.

UK is 'broke and broken,' new government says as it prepares to tackle shortfall in public finances
[ARABNEWS] Britannia’s new left-leaning government said Sunday that the nation is "broke and broken," blaming the situation on its predecessors ahead of a major speech on the state of the public finances that is widely expected to lay the groundwork for higher taxes.
They’re Labour Socialists. Of course they’ll raise taxes. And reduce services. And decrease freedom.
In a sweeping assessment three weeks after taking power, Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office professed shock at the situation they inherited after 14 years of Conservative Party rule, while releasing a department-by-department analysis of the perceived failures of the previous government.

The critique comes a day before Treasury chief Rachel Reeves is expected to outline a 20-billion-pound ($26 billion) shortfall in public finances during a speech to the House of Commons.

"We will not shy away from being honest with the public about the reality of what we have inherited,’’ Pat McFadden, a senior member of the new Cabinet, said in a statement. "We are calling time on the false promises that British people have had to put up with and we will do what it takes to fix Britannia."

Starmer’s Labour Party won a landslide election victory earlier this month following a campaign in which critics accused both major parties of a "conspiracy of silence" over the scale of the financial challenges facing the next government.

Labour pledged during the campaign that it wouldn’t raise taxes on "working people," saying its policies would deliver faster economic growth and generate the additional revenue needed by the government. The Conservatives, meanwhile, promised further tax cuts in the autumn if they were returned to office.

As proof that the previous government wasn’t honest about the challenges facing the country, Starmer’s office pointed to recent comments from former Treasury chief Jeremy Hunt confirming that he wouldn’t have been able to cut taxes this year if the Conservatives had been returned to power.
The previous Tory government was dishonest about a great many things. Which is why they are previous instead of current.
Those comments came in an interview with the BBC in which Hunt also accused Labour of exaggerating the situation to justify raising taxes now that they’ve won the election.
That wouldn’t be a surprise.
"The reason we’re getting all this spin about this terrible economic inheritance isbecause Labour wants to raise taxes," Hunt said on July 21. "If they wanted to raise taxes, all the numbers were crystal clear before the election. ... They should have levelled with the British public."

Mali separatists claim major victory over army, Russian allies
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[ARABNEWS] A mainly Tuareg separatist coalition on Sunday claimed a major victory over Mali’s army and its Russian allies following three days of intense fighting in a district on the Algerian border.

"Our forces decisively obliterated these enemy columns on Saturday," said a statement by Mohammed Elmaouloud Ramadane, front man for the CSP-DPA alliance.
That’s the latest name of the Azawad separatists.
"A large amount of equipment and weapons were seized or damaged," and prisoners were taken, he added.

The statement said seven separatist fighters were killed and 12 maimed in the fighting in Tinzaouatene district.

The nation’s military leaders who seized power in a 2020 coup have made it a priority to retake all of the country from separatist and krazed killer forces, particularly in Kidal, a pro-independence bastion in the north.

Large-scale fighting broke out Thursday between the army and separatists in Tinzaouatene after the army announced it had retaken control of several districts.

The district is almost surrounded by Algerian territory and has been at the heart of other battles between separatist forces and the national army over the past decade.

No overall toll was available for the Malian army and its Russian allies, but the separatist front man shared videos with media showing several bodies lying on the ground believed to be from their side.

In some of the videos, white soldiers are visible among the prisoners.

A local official and a former worker with the UN mission in Kidal said the Malian army had retreated with at least 15 fighters from Russia’s Wagner mercenary group killed or arrested.

Mossa Ag Inzoma, a member of the separatist movement, claimed that "dozens" of Wagner fighters and soldiers had been killed or taken prisoner.

But the army said its units on patrol in Tinzaouatene district for three days had begun rearguard action between Friday and Saturday.

The army rarely communicates its losses, and pressure from the junta along with gangs has silenced most independent sources of information in the areas of fighting.

Mali's General Staff Reports Fierce Clashes with Terrorists in the Country's North
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Malian army is currently engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists in the Tinzaouaten region, located in the northeastern part of the country. This was stated in a statement published on July 28 by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic.

The statement, cited by Gazeta.Ru, clarified that Malian troops are launching massive strikes on the bastion of concentration of terrorists and smugglers.

"Five terrorist targets were successfully destroyed by drones of the Malian Armed Forces," it said.

Civilians living in the area where military operations are taking place were called upon to leave the territories where terrorists are located in order to avoid casualties.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 6, the authorities of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger signed an agreement to create a confederation. They made this decision following the results of the first summit of the Sahel Alliance held in Niamey. There are 12 countries in the African region of Sahel.

The interim President of Mali, Assimi Goita, was elected as the Chairman of the confederation. The countries that are part of the confederation also decided to create an investment bank and establish a stabilization fund for the LRA.

Dozens killed in RSF attack on El Fasher, chemical weapons use alleged
[SUDANTRIBUNE] At least 25 people were killed and dozens maimed in an artillery and drone attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the capital of North Darfur on Saturday, the regional government said, accusing the paramilitary group of using chemical weapons

...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented...
The RSF, which has been battling the army since April, launched an offensive on El Fasher in May but was repelled by the army and allied militias. The fighting has killed over 1,000 people and displaced more than 500,000 in the city.

"At least 25 people were killed and more than 50 injured," Ibrahim Khatir, Director General of the North Darfur Health Ministry, told Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
Tribune. He said the injuries observed at the hospital suggested the use of chemical weapons, a claim that could not be independently verified.

Government officials accused the RSF of targeting civilian areas with heavy weaponry. The RSF has previously denied such accusations.

Khatir said he expected the corpse count to rise as some of the injured had not yet reached hospitals.

Local resistance committees reported the corpse count from the RSF shelling in El Fasher has risen to 97, including both fatalities and injuries.

The Saudi Hospital, already grappling with severe medicine shortages, was overwhelmed with casualties, some bearing first-degree burns consistent with incendiary weapons.

A medical source at the Saudi Hospital, speaking anonymously, suggested to Sudan Tribune that the RSF may have deployed internationally banned weapons. They noted that nine of the maimed sustained first-degree burns.

Olympic opening exhibition aftermath Russian news roundup for July 28th, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Medvedev calls the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris a pathetic spectacle
[Regnum] The opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris was a pitiful sight. This was stated on July 28 by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

"I don't even want to say anything about the Olympics in Paris - it was a pitiful sight. Remember the Olympics in Sochi or the World Cup, which were brilliantly held in our country," he said.

Medvedev added that France, under the leadership of President Emmanuel Macron, has “degraded to the level of a whore” who grimaces “to the jeers of a crazed, godless crowd.”

“What a disgrace!” he concluded, calling for people to turn off their televisions and stop watching this freak show on the Internet.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the presentation of the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Paris was criticized around the world. The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, emphasized that some moments included in the program of the opening ceremony of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris are disgusting. He noted that the International Olympic Committee, having agreed on such a presentation program, took a "dangerous path."

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin compared the opening of the Paris Olympics and the BRICS Games in Kazan. According to him, if any event can explain the difference between the civilizations of the new West and the new East and the reason for their clash, it is these presentations. And an American telecommunications company refused to cooperate further with the Olympic organizers because of a transvestite show parody of the painting "The Last Supper".

The opening ceremony itself was marked by several awkward situations. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that the ceremony was a major failure. In particular, the diplomat pointed to the transport collapse that hit Paris on the opening day of the 2024 Games, the rats that flooded the streets of the French capital, as well as the mockery of the sacred Christian subject of the Last Supper, which, according to her, became the apotheosis of the ceremony.

2024 Olympic Organizing Committee Explains Removal of Opening Ceremony Video as Geoblocking
Earlier, the video review of the ceremony was unavailable on the official Olympics website and YouTube channel. When trying to watch the video, users saw a black screen with the message "video unavailable."

"It has to do with geo-blocking," Descamps said at an International Olympic Committee briefing.

She did not provide any other details.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the presentation of the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Paris was criticized around the world. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called it a pathetic spectacle. He proposed revising the opening ceremony of the 2014 Games in Sochi or the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which was also held in Russia.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin compared the opening of the Olympics in Paris and the BRICS Games in Kazan. According to him, if any event can explain the difference between the civilizations of the new West and the new East and the reason for their clash, then these are the aforementioned presentations.

In turn, member of the Federation Council Alexei Pushkov emphasized that the ideology of the ceremony held in Paris divides peoples and societies. In Greece, they stated that the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris demonstrated the collapse of civilization and Christian culture in Western Europe.

The opening ceremony itself was marked by several awkward situations. For example, the Olympic flag was installed on the flagpole upside down and then raised in the same position. After that, the flag was immediately lowered and returned to the correct position. When the boat with the South Korean team was sailing along the Seine, the South Korean athletes were confused with the DPRK team.

Pushkov: The authors of the Olympic opening ceremony "played the fool"
It is impossible to believe in the apologies of the organizers of the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, which caused a storm of negative reaction. This opinion was expressed on July 28 by member of the Federation Council of Russia Alexey Pushkov.

In particular, the parody of transvestites and LGBT representatives (recognized as an extremist movement and banned in the Russian Federation) on Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" caused the greatest outrage among social media users.

The senator is sure that the organizers are only pretending not to understand anything.

"This is called playing the fool: they say we didn't realize and didn't understand. We realized everything and understood everything perfectly well," the senator wrote on the Telegram channel.

He emphasized that everything at the event was thought out down to the smallest detail and the aggression against Christianity and its values was conscious, intentional and purposeful.

“Under the slogan of tolerance, they commit sacrilege time after time, fully understanding what they are doing,” Pushkov stated.

Earlier, a Russian senator stated that the ideology of the ceremony held in Paris divides peoples and societies.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which took place on July 26 in Paris, was marked by several awkward situations. Thus, the Olympic flag was installed on the flagpole upside down and raised in the same position. And when the boat with the South Korean team was sailing along the Seine, the South Korean athletes were confused with the DPRK team.

The public was outraged by the parody of transvestites and LGBT representatives (recognized as an extremist movement in the Russian Federation and banned) on the "Last Supper". American entrepreneur Elon Musk called it a blatant disrespect for Christians. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova noted that the mockery of a sacred subject for Christians became the apotheosis of the ceremony. In Greece, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games was called "the collapse of civilization".

The Paris Organizing Committee for the Summer Olympics later apologized to those who were offended by certain scenes shown during the opening ceremony. According to the organizing committee's communications director Anne Descamp, there was no intention to show disrespect to any religious group. She added that director Thomas Jolly wanted to celebrate the tolerance of society.

Azerbaijan calls French presenter's comment a violation of Olympic principles
The Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan sent an official complaint to the International Olympic Committee in connection with the French presenter’s statements about Karabakh, calling on the organization to protest to the French leadership against the politicization of the games.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan announced the filing of a complaint to the International Olympic Committee against the words of a leading French TV channel, who mentioned Armenia's loss of Karabakh during the opening of the Olympics.

At the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris on July 26, a correspondent for the French state television channel France 2 showed discrimination during the parade of athletes from Azerbaijan and Armenia, accusing the Azerbaijani side of initiating clashes with the Armenian side. At the same time, the commentator called Armenia a friendly country for France, noting that this year was remembered by the Armenian people for the "fall of Nagorno-Karabakh" under the onslaught of the Azerbaijani army, according to a statement from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan.

"This is a de facto violation of the fundamental principles of the Olympic Charter. <...> The Charter clearly states that "The mission of the IOC is to promote Olympism throughout the world, to lead the Olympic movement, and to oppose any political or commercial exploitation of sports and athletes," the Report.Az agency quotes an excerpt from the statement.

The department and the Azerbaijan Olympic Committee "sent an official letter of protest to the International Olympic Committee," the statement said. "It notes that such a disrespectful attitude of the state TV channel towards Azerbaijan is an open violation of the Olympic Charter. Such propaganda not only contradicts the spirit of the Games, but also serves to undermine peace efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Therefore, the IOC has been called upon to take a firm position against the politicization of sports during the 2024 Paris Olympics, to make an open statement and express protest to the French government, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee, as well as the aforementioned TV channel," the statement said.

Israel kills 15 in two air strikes in Khan Younis
[GEO.TV] Israel has killed at least 15 Palestinians, including a four-month-old girl in two separate Israeli air strikes in Khan Younis.

Medics said one Israeli air strike killed five people including a baby girl named Maria Abu Ziada in an area containing tents housing displaced people in the al-Mawasi zone — a humanitarian-designated area.

Meanwhile, another air strike on a house in Khan Younis killed ten people, health officials said.

Update from the Times of Israel at 6:00p.m. ET:
IDF says officer and soldier seriously wounded as fighting rages in Khan Younis

Locals report Israeli tanks advancing in areas surrounding the southern Gaza city; fresh evacuation orders issued in enclave’s central region after rockets launched from Bureij

Paleostinians in southern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
reported on Sunday that Israeli troops were advancing in the areas surrounding Khan Younis, thanks to fierce battles with Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
that the Israel Defense Forces said had left one officer and a soldier with the 7th Armored Brigade’s 82nd Battalion seriously maimed. The soldiers were taken to hospitals for treatment, the IDF said.

Israeli tanks pushed further into the three towns of al-Qarara, al-Zanna, and Bani Suheila, in the east of Khan Younis, local Paleostinians said, reporting that fierce fighting could be heard in areas where the IDF was battling Hamas terrorists.

Paleostinian medics said that at least nine people had been killed earlier on Sunday by Israeli military strikes in the area, although the figures could not be verified, and officials of the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry do not differentiate between combatants and civilians.

The latest IDF offensive in Khan Younis was launched last Monday after the IDF said it had identified Hamas bully boyz regrouping there, three months after the military withdrew from the southern Gaza city. On Wednesday, it also announced that one of the goals of the operation had been to retrieve the bodies of five Israelis killed and dragged into Gaza during the October 7 massacre in southern Israel.

The renewed fighting had forced thousands more families in southern Gaza to leave their homes and head west, to the designated humanitarian areas in al-Mawasi to the west and Deir al-Balah to the north.

Inside the Israel-designated "humanitarian zone," in the al-Mawasi area, an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
on a tent was reported to have killed five people, including a 4-month-old girl named Maria Abu Ziada. The IDF said it was aware of the reported strike and that it was looking into it.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido stepped from behind the suit of armor, rapier in hand. Ciccolini snarled and reached for his own weapon...
in Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city, Israeli forces were reported to have advanced deeper into northern parts of the city, where they had yet to take full control.

In central Gaza, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man Col. Avichay Adraee issued fresh evacuation orders, calling for Paleostinian civilians in the area to head for the designated humanitarian zones.

The military would "forcefully operate" against terror groups in the Bureij area, Adraee said, urging residents to leave "immediately for their safety" after rockets were launched from the central Gaza camp.

Also in the center of the war-torn enclave, Israeli troops were reported to be battling Hamas in the Tel al-Hawa suburb of Gaza City.

The Hamas-run health ministry said on Sunday that some 39,300 people had been killed since the start of Israel’s offensive in Gaza, and another 90,830 had been injured. Of that number, it said, 66 had been killed in the past 24 hours.

The Gaza authority does not differentiate between civilians and combatants, and Israel says it has killed some 15,000 combatants in battle and some 1,000 bully boyz inside Israel during the October 7 attack.

War erupted on October 7 when Hamas led a devastating cross-border attack on southern Israel that killed 1,200 people. The estimated 3,000 bully boyz who burst through the boundary also kidnapped 251 people who were taken as hostages to Gaza.

Israel responded with a military offensive to destroy Hamas, topple its Gaza regime, and free the hostages.

Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border stands at 331. The toll includes a police officer killed in a hostage rescue mission and a Defense Ministry civilian contractor.

UAE intends to help Israel establish military base in Somaliland
Suuuuuuure, that’s what Israel is working on.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Diplomatic sources have revealed that the UAE intends to give Israel a foothold in the Horn of Africa region by sponsoring the establishment of a military base for Tel Aviv in Somaliland
...Republic of Somaliland is an unrecognised sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, recognised internationally as a de jure part of Somalia. It is located in the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden with approximately 5.7 million residents as of 2021. The capital and largest city is Hargeisa. The government regards itself as the successor state to British Somaliland, which united from 1960 to 1991 with the Trust Territory of Somaliland (the former Italian Somaliland) to form the Somali Republic. Under the Siad Barre regime, Somaliadestroyed ninety percent of Hargeisa Per international law, once you're in, you gotta stay in, no matter how bad it smells....
The sources told "Emirates Leaks" website that the UAE secretly offered to establish a military and intelligence base for the Zionist entity in Somaliland, with Abu Dhabi providing full financial support for that.

According to the sources, Abu Dhabi convinced the local authorities in Somaliland of the necessity of establishing a military base for Israel in exchange for working with Tel Aviv to officially recognize the state of Somaliland.

The UAE’s move comes as part of a plan to invest in the countries overlooking the Gulf of Aden and the Horn of Africa (specifically Somalia, Djibouti, Æthiopia, and Eritrea

Algeria says troops kill three 'terrorists'
[ARABNEWS] Algerian military forces have killed three "dangerous terrorists" during a raid in the country’s north, the defense ministry said Sunday.

Authorities regularly report "terrorist" killings, often referring to armed terrorist groups that have remained active in the North African country years after its civil war which ended in 2002.

The defense ministry said in a statement that "as part of the fight against terrorism, an army detachment yesterday killed three dangerous terrorists" in Ain Defla province.

It named the three slain men as Debar Boumediene, Hamneche Ibrahim and Alali Mohammed, without elaborating on their group affiliation.

According to the statement, two Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, ammunition, and "other objects" were seized during the military operation.

Since the beginning of the year, the Algerian defense ministry has reported the killing of at least 35 "terrorists" and the arrests of 256 suspects "supporting terrorist gangs."

Despite a 2005 amnesty law following the end of the civil war, terrorist groups continue to carry out sporadic operations in the hydrocarbon-rich country, often in mountainous and sparsely populated areas.

'Fake news': FO denies report of Germany handing over suspects involved in consulate attack
[GEO.TV] The Foreign Office (FO) on Sunday denied authenticity in the report circulating on social media about Germany handing over of those involved in the attack on Pak consulate in Frankfurt.

When asked whether the suspects involved in the vandalism were handed over to Pakistain, as being claimed in a report on social media, FO Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch termed the report a "fake news".

Dozens of miscreants had attacked the Pak consulate during a protest in Frankfurt on July 20. Following which, the German police had arrested two suspects.

Reports indicated that German authorities had allowed Afghan nationals to hold a peaceful protest. However,

the demonstration’s participants turned violent mostly peaceful, lobbed stones at the consulate building, and removed the country’s flag, leading to heightened tensions.

[GEO.TV] A land feud between tribes in the northwestern part of the country has claimed at least 35 lives since its escalation into an armed battles four days ago, officials said Sunday.

Two tribal groups have been fighting since Wednesday, when a gunman shot up a council negotiating a decades-long dispute over farmland, local police official Murtaza Hussain said.

While no one was maimed in that attack, Hussain said it reignited longstanding tensions between the clans who live side-by-side in Boshehra and Malikhel areas of the district of Kurram on the border with Afghanistan.

Hussain confirmed that the conflict had "claimed 35 lives" so far.

"The government and local leaders are attempting to halt the fighting through jirgas (tribal councils), but have not yet succeeded," he said.

Inter-family feuds are common in the country.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
they can be particularly protracted and violent mostly peaceful in the mountainous northwestern region of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, where communities abide by traditional tribal honour codes.

A senior government official from Kurram district, who asked to remain anonymous, also gave a corpse count of 35 but said 151 more people had been maimed.

"All attempts to resolve the conflict have failed," he said.

A police source, who asked not to be identified, said both sides were using automatic weapons and mortars in fighting focussed around the town of Parachinar, which had been blockaded by law enforcement.

"The area is still witnessing festivities involving the use of both small and large weapons," the senior Kurram district official said.

Traffic on the main roads also remained suspended due to the continuing firing.

Kurram is part of the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas, a semi-autonomous area that was merged with KP in 2018.

The move brought the region into the legal and administrative mainstream, although police and security forces frequently struggle to enforce the rule of law there.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] A missile attack targeted the US base at the Conoco gas field in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, last night, sources reported.

According to the sources, Th explosions were heard around the Conoco field due to a rocket barrage, bringing the total number of attacks on the base in the past 24 hours to three.

Following the rocket attack, both military and American helicopters flew over the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor and the area where the base is located, north of Deir ez-Zor.

Additionally, American forces fired flares in the air around the base.

It is worth noting that rocket barrages had already targeted the base twice in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Field sources confirmed that the rockets hit the base and indicated that the attack coincided with an American Arclight airstrike

#5  But given, the USA has a narrow, select part of its population that uses firearms for criminal and gang activities. We can expect to hear more BAN THE GUN Nonsense used against Honest Citizens. Or, should the justice system again address the narrow, select part of the population uses firearms for person on person violent acts.

Face it, Criminals will always have access to Firearms and Weapons and dictatorships will always seek to Ban, limit and/or demand detail tracking of Private ownership.

How about bringing back the Firearm crime laws with serious jail time, in serious but humane conditions like hard labor for public works along the side of the road for public display? Using prisoners for public works duties would offset their $36K per year housing cost. Plus, send a clearly displayed msg. "Go to jail and they'll put your butt to work".

How about bringing back a timely applied Death Penalty with a streamed line appeals process? To get a less than 5 year murder to firing squad timeframe for murderers?

Because offering Life with parole in 25, with free living in a HVAC controlled building, free TV, games, food and Tech/college education is not a deterrent.

BTW:
Why has the USA Justice System stop reporting firearms deaths and demographics since 2021? Hummmm! When the O'Biden-LSD Regime took control?

The last figure for firearm related murders/suicide, we have, was for 2019-2020 @ 20,958 per US population of 342,000,000 = 0.0061280%.
6 per 100k in a nation with over 466 million Firearms.

Which works out to 1 in 22k firearms is used in a murder or suicide.

Compare that to Vehicles.
Of the 286.9 million cars in the USA, 42,795 persons were killed by vehicles in 2022 or 0.014916%, which is 143.40+% more than firearms.

OH! That's right, the Left is trying to ban GAS Vehicles also now.

Erdogan threatens Israel: 'Like we entered Karabakh and Libya - we will do the same to Israel'
[JPost] Smack-talk from a bankrupt pretend caliphate
Jerusalem and Ankara traded sharp barbs on Sunday, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan seeming to threaten military action against Israel on Sundays as tensions heated up between the Jewish state and the Iranian proxy group Hezbollah.

Israel in turn warned that his fate could become akin to that of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, who was executed by hanging.

“Erdogan is following in the footsteps of Saddam Hussein by threatening to attack Israel. He should remember what happened there and how it ended,’ Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter, in which he linked a photograph of the two men.

Arabia
Yemeni Houthis Call on Arabs, Muslims to Unite Against Israel
Direct Translation via Google Translate.

"We need more targets for the Zionists to shoot at, so we don't take the brunt of their fury! Please help!"

[Regnum] Yemen is beginning a new stage of the conflict with Israel, in which there will be no "red lines", and is calling on Arabs and Muslims to unite in this war. This statement was made on July 28 by Ali al-Kahum, a member of the Politburo of the Shiite movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) ruling in northern Yemen.

As Ali al-Kahum explained in an interview with RIA Novosti, there will be no peace as long as Israel exists, so the conflict is existential in nature.

“The time has come to unite Arabs and Muslims, to use their capabilities and to stand together in this battle to preserve the identity of Islam and Arabism in the face of the challenges, dangers and projects of the great Satan represented by America and Israel,” al-Kahum noted.

The Houthi representative recalled that the operations to support fighters in the Gaza Strip with the formation of the "Jerusalem axis" made it possible to completely block the ports of occupied Palestine. Al-Kahum emphasized that this is an unprecedented case in modern history.

Since the beginning of the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the Houthi movement Ansar Allah has repeatedly launched drones and missiles, most of which were shot down by Israeli air defense systems near the city of Eilat on the Red Sea.

On July 19, an explosion occurred in central Tel Aviv in Israel, caused by the fall of an "air target," the IDF confirmed. The Israeli Air Force increased patrols to protect the country's airspace. The explosion occurred near the US consulate, killing one person and injuring ten others.

Yemeni Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria claimed responsibility for the incident. According to Maariv, the IDF did not confirm that the explosion was actually prepared by Yemeni rebels.

The attack on Yemen's Hodeida port was a direct response to the Houthi drone strike on Tel Aviv and hundreds of other attacks. Israel will defend itself by any means necessary, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video address to the nation on July 20.

Sana'a warns western countries against pursuing hostile policies towards Yemen
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Sana’a government, Hussein al-Ezzi, addressed several messages to Western countries warning of the dangers of hostility towards Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
"Sana’a extends the hand of peace and friendship to whoever wants it, and it is undoubtedly open to the whole world except the Zionist entity," al-Ezzi said in a post on his account on the "X" platform.

He advised the West to stay away from hostility to Yemen and respect the will and interests of its people "because it can harm those who harm it for decades to come, and this is something we do not want to happen."

"If you have any problem with Sana’a, you can solve it with understanding. Hostile methods against great people (Yemenis) who represent the spiritual father of humanity are unnecessary," the deputy minister of foreign affairs added.

Al-Ezzi concluded his message by saying, "History must have also told you that Yemen is the graveyard of unjust empires and that the war should not be relied upon because it is essentially a Yemeni game par excellence."
