Khaled Mashaal tapped to be new Hamas leader
[JPost] "Next!"
Khaled Mashaal was tapped to be the new Hamas leader on Wednesday, replacing Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in Tehran early Wednesday morning.

Hamas sources said Mashaal is expected to be chosen as the paramount leader of the terror group to replace Ismail Haniyeh, who was eliminated in Iran in the early hours of Wednesday.

Senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya, who is based in Qatar and has headed Hamas negotiators in indirect hostage deal talks with Israel, has also been a possibility for the leadership as he is a favorite of Iran and its allies in the region.

Mashaal became known around the world in 1997 after Israeli agents injected him with poison in a failed assassination attempt on a street outside his office in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Mashaal, 68, became Hamas's political leader in exile the year before Israel tried to eliminate him, a post that enabled him to represent the Palestinian Islamist group at meetings with foreign governments around the world, unhindered by tight Israeli travel restrictions that affected other Hamas officials.

Mashaal's relations with Iran have been strained due to his past support for the Sunni Muslim-led revolt in 2011 against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Mashaal has been a central figure at the top of Hamas since the late 1990s, though he has worked mainly from exile.

WHO IS KHALED MASHAAL?
Born in Silwad near the West Bank city of Ramallah, Mashaal moved as a boy with his family to the Gulf Arab state of Kuwait.

At the age of 15, he joined the Muslim Brotherhood, which became instrumental in the formation of Hamas in the late 1980s during the First Intifada.

Mashaal became a schoolteacher before turning to lobbying for Hamas from abroad for many years. He was in charge of international fund-raising in Jordan when he escaped assassination after being injected with poison in the street.

Jordan eventually closed Hamas's bureau in Amman and expelled Mashaal from the Gulf state of Qatar. He moved to Syria in 2001.

Meshaal ran Hamas from exile in Damascus in 2004 until January 2012, when he left the Syrian capital because of President Assad's fierce crackdown on Sunnis involved in an uprising against him. Mashaal now lives in both Doha and Cairo.

His abrupt departure from Syria initially weakened his position within Hamas. Mashaal himself told Reuters that his move affected relations with Hamas's main paymaster and weapons supplier - Iran.

In December 2012, Mashaal paid his first visit to the Gaza Strip and delivered the main speech at Hamas's 25th anniversary rally.

Friction between Mashaal and the Gaza-based Hamas leadership surfaced over his attempts to promote reconciliation with President Mahmoud Abbas, who heads the Palestinian Authority.

Mashaal then announced that he wanted to step down as leader over such tensions and, in 2017, was replaced by his Gaza deputy Haniyeh, who was elected to head the terror group's political office, also operating overseas.

Surprised about Harris's ‘Lead’ in the Polls?
[GatewayPundit] The Biggest Gaslighting Scam Yet: Kamala Isn’t Winning. She’s Doing Worse Than Biden. Trump is Winning a Landslide. Here is the Proof.

Here’s the proof the polls you’re currently seeing in the mainstream media are total fraud. For years, the most accurate poll in the country has been The Democracy Institute, run by Patrick Basham.

Democracy only polls “likely voters,” as opposed to other biased pollsters (friendly to Democrats) who choose to poll any registered voter who picks up the phone. Up to one third of registered voters are not going to vote. And they skew dramatically Democrat.

These other polls also oversample Democrats. That’s how they have come up with such absurd numbers for Kamala Harris. Of course, if you poll mostly Democrats, you’ll come up with ridiculous fake numbers in favor of the Democrat candidate.

Here are the exact numbers used by Democracy versus other pollsters. Democracy used Democrats +2 for this latest poll. Meaning pollster Basham gives Democrat voters a +2 point edge- the exact number for the 2020 presidential election. Patrick believes the true number today is Democrats +1. But he is always cautious, so he stuck with +2.

But the polls you’re seeing now in the media claiming Kamala is suddenly popular and gaining on Trump, or beating Trump, are using Democrats +6, Democrats +8, and in some cases a ridiculous Democrats +10. This absurd, ridiculous, biased fantasy produces a “Kamala Miracle.” Voila- suddenly, she is popular.

So, what is the truth? What is the real snapshot of this election?

In the latest 100% honest, ethical, accurate Democracy Institute poll, with the electorate at +2 edge for Democrats, Trump is winning by a landslide of 8 points.

I use the word “landslide” because no Republican has won any presidential election by this big a margin since Ronald Reagan- almost half a century ago.

And of course, only the Electoral results matter. If Trump even loses the popular vote by 1 point, he’d almost certainly win the election with a large electoral victory.

In Basham’s Democracy Institute poll, Trump wins by 8 points because he is winning by a gigantic landslide with white voters, male voters, independents, and seniors.

Kamala is barely leading among young voters. Trump wins with Hispanics 51% to 48%, suburban voters 49% to 47%, and takes 22% of black votes.

The largest voting group in the entire electorate is working class whites. Trump wins 75% of their vote.

Trump wins by a whopping 35 points among men, while Kamala wins with women by only a razor-thin 3 points.

It’s also important to note, 62% of all voters believe Kamala Harris lied about Biden’s health.

Basham tells me the most important takeaway is that Trump historically ALWAYS outperforms polls- as many of his voters understandably don’t like to tell a stranger on the phone who they support. So, in reality, Trump almost certainly leads by 10 points or more. Which would be the biggest landslide since Reagan.

Want a little more “backup.” I’ve always found Rasmussen the other most accurate pollster. In their latest poll, Trump is up by 7.

#5  suburban voters 49% to 47%

Kamala wins with women by only a razor-thin 3 points

It's a good article, but these two things seem to be contradictory. The second quote - a reference to the AWFLs - sort of contradicts the first one. The suburban vote is heavily skewed D by the AWFLs and their p-whipped husbands.

Trump darling Kari Lake wins Arizona GOP primary
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Kari Lake has clinched victory in her Republican primary for Arizona's Senate seat.

Lake, the glamorous former broadcaster who was defeated in her 2022 bid for governor, beat out Sheriff Mark Lamb in the primary. She has been narrowly trailing Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego in polling for the Arizona Senate race.

They are battling for the seat being vacated by Democrat-turned-independent Kyrsten Sinema in a race that could determine who controls the upper chamber. Republicans have made Arizona a top pickup target this cycle.

Former President Donald Trump

by about six points in the RealClearPolitics average in Arizona before Biden announced he was stepping back from the race.

Trump hosted a call for Lake's campaign on Monday saying she's 'fantastic,' and 'will not let us down.'

US cyber officials issue urgent warning to millions of Apple users to update iOS on their devices now
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] US cyber officials are urging millions of Americans to update their Apple devices or risk being hacked.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is instructing people to update their devices to the newest iOS system immediately.

The iOS 17.6 update, released Monday, included 35 security fixes to protect users from hackers stealing their personal data, location or taking control of the iPhone.

This update applies to all iPhone Xs, Xs Max and XR phones issued in 2018 or later.

One of the security patches addressed a flaw in the iPhone’s operating system that allowed hackers to cause the software to shut down and a separate bug that permitted apps to disregard user’s privacy preferences.

Biden top adviser Anita Dunn leaves White House for super PAC supporting Harris
[FoxNews] Sources said Dunn helped to prep Biden for his disastrous debate performance in June.

Fox News has learned that Dunn is joining Future Forward, the super PAC, and will help with their efforts on behalf of Harris as the presumptive Democratic nominee.

Multiple sources told Fox News there was a long-standing rift between Hunter Biden, Dunn, and Dunn’s husband, Bob Bauer. Dunn and Bauer had advocated that Biden keep his son’s legal issues far away from the White House.

After the debate, sources said Hunter "got his way" and the inner circle began to exclude Dunn.

A source familiar with Dunn’s exit said she could have remained in her role should she have chosen to.

Dunn's departure is being quietly celebrated by some Biden-Harris administration staffers who have had frosty relations with her throughout her tenure, sources said. The sources suggested staffers believe Dunn was behind a series of leaks – including one pushing for the ouster of White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to an unsolicited job opportunity at Emily's List. Jean-Pierre's departure never materialized.

Additional sources within the White House voiced suspicion to Fox News that Dunn also may have been responsible for leaks about Hunter Biden’s presence in Biden’s meetings with senior advisors, while pressure was building to end his campaign and his family encouraged him to remain in the race.

Sources told Fox News that Hunter was pushing his father to dismiss Dunn at the time – a move fueled by their longstanding rift.

Other sources within the White House rejected the idea that Dunn would have played a role in any of the recent leaks, including some others which sought to direct blame over the debate fallout to aides closest to the president.

[ArmyTimes] Army’s second-largest post to have its first female commander

The Army’s home for intelligence and cyber operations will welcome its first female garrison commander in a change-of-command ceremony next week.

Col. Yolanda Gore will be the 89th garrison commander of Fort Meade, Maryland, when she takes command from Col. Michael Sapp on Aug. 6.

Gore recently served as the former strategic initiative chief for the Army’s deputy chief of staff over personnel at the Pentagon.

Fort Meade is the Army’s second-largest installation by personnel. It contains more than 120 organizations, including U.S. Cyber Command, the National Security Agency, the Defense Information Systems Agency, Defense Media Activity, Architect of the Capitol and the Environmental Protection Agency, according to the release.

Fort Meade, which also houses various Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy units, is the largest employer in Maryland, according to the service.

Its current mission, housing much of the nation’s intelligence assets, began in the 1970s.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
The Immortal Feat of the Jack Group
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[RedStar] Behind enemy lines, brave reconnaissance soldiers carried out combat missions even at the cost of their lives.

by Yuri Dmitriev

A solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial monument "To the Intelligence Soldiers" was held in Victory Park in Kaliningrad, which was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the formation of the legendary intelligence group. The event was attended by representatives of the regional government, the Kaliningrad administration, the leadership of the military memorial march "Along the Roads of the Intelligence Group "Jack", veteran intelligence officers, cadets of the Baltic Higher Naval School named after Admiral F.F. Ushakov, and young army members.

The head of the military-patriotic project "March of the Kremlin Cadets", retired Major General Alexander Zubkov, spoke about the heroic feat of Soviet intelligence officers of the "Jack" group of the 3rd Belorussian Front, which is included in the world catalog of intelligence services as one of the best.

During the war, East Prussia was the location of the Nazi headquarters, the Wolfsschanze (Wolf's Lair), and the German province was under their complete control. In fact, no plane could get there unnoticed. On the ground, the paratrooper reconnaissance troops were met by special teams with dogs, police, field gendarmerie, Volkssturm, and the Hitler Youth. Any airborne contact was immediately triangulated.

The commander of one of the Soviet reconnaissance groups was Captain Pavel Krylatykh, call sign "Jack." The parachute landing in the enemy rear was carried out on the night of July 27, 1944, in the area of Lyaukenen (today it is the village of Gromovo in the Slavsky District of the Kaliningrad Region). The combat mission of the group was to collect and transmit information about the deployment and movements of German troops.
Note that the bombing attack on Adolph Hitler took place only 11 days before. This was a daring raid by Soviet recon troops.
The scouts landed without losses, but on the night of July 29-30, while crossing a bridge on the Parva River, the group commander, the same "Jack", was killed. The fascists, shooting from an ambush, hit the 26-year-old officer right in the heart. After his death, Nikolai Shpakov, call sign "Hedgehog", took command.

The Prussian landscape was extremely unsuitable for covert reconnaissance: the local forests were more like well-kept parks, divided into sections by clearings, and open areas were crossed by many rivers, streams, and canals. The bridges were guarded around the clock. Almost all settlements, even very remote farmsteads, were provided with telephone communications.

The most remote area was immediately cordoned off by the fascists. In such conditions, the scouts of the "Jack" group had to act: at the limit of their strength, losing their comrades in arms. During another clash while escaping pursuit, Iosif Zvarika died while covering his comrades.

On the night of September 28, the scouts were ambushed again. Then the group commander Nikolai Shpakov died, and the translator Napoleon Ridevsky seriously injured his knee.

The new commander of the group, Ivan Melnikov, call sign "Mole", decided to split into two groups. Four people entered one, which continued the reconnaissance search, and the other included the wounded Ridevsky and 16-year-old scout Gennady Yushkevich, left by the commander to help him.

On the night of November 11-12, the group was joined by a new commander, Lieutenant Anatoly Morzhin, call sign "Gladiator", who was parachuted from an airplane. But losses continued. On November 19, Ivan Ovcharov died in a skirmish with a patrol.

In November, the "Jack" group crossed into Poland and broke through to the Polish patriots. Under their cover, four scouts settled in a forest dugout near the city of Myszynets and continued to transmit information about the transfer of German troops.

On December 27, the dugout was attacked by punitive forces. In the fierce battle, Ivan Melnikov was killed, Anatoly Morzhin was captured, and 21-year-old radio operator Zinaida Bardysheva - "Jay" was wounded in the chest and, in order not to fall alive into the hands of the fascists, shot herself. Only another radio operator, Sergeant Anna Morozova, call sign "Swan", managed to escape.

During another raid, Anna was seriously wounded. The scout was scented by dogs sent by the Germans on her trail. Anna Morozova fired back from a captured Walther, killing several punitive forces on the spot, and wounded the German shepherds unleashed on her with a grenade explosion. When the clip ran out of bullets, Sergeant Morozova managed to destroy the secret radio codes she had with her, after which she pulled the pin of the last grenade and, waiting for the fascists to come closer, blew herself and the enemy up.

Thus ended the heroic story of the reconnaissance group "Jack".

During the crossing to Poland, the scout Ivan Tselikov fell behind the group. He got lost and after a month of ordeal he reached the advanced units of the Red Army. Napoleon Ridevsky and Gennady Yushkevich, who, by the way, still lives in his native Minsk, also survived.

Having completed the historical excursion, retired Major General Alexander Zubkov noted that, together with the Kaliningrad regional branch of the Russian Union of Afghanistan Veterans, an action "Along the Roads of the Reconnaissance Group "Jack" is being held in memory of the scouts.

- In preparation for the East Prussian operation, 237 deep reconnaissance formations were created, but "Jack" had the most difficult conditions, and by many criteria - duration, territory coverage, complexity of tasks - it was the most successful group that operated on enemy territory, - noted Alexander Zubkov.

– In 2022, after an appeal to the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, we were given 19 archival documents about the Jack group, on the basis of which we prepared reliable information about its activities. Based on this data, we laid out scout trails that can be used today by military personnel, cadets, young people, and anyone interested in history. You can go on a hike along routes of three difficulty categories – 28, 80, and 105 kilometers.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Usual suspects condemn Israeli strike in Dahieh
[An Nahar] Iran condemned Tuesday what it called a "vicious" Israeli strike in Beirut's southern suburbs which Israel said targeted a Hezbollah commander behind last week's rocket strike on the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.

"The vicious and criminal action of the Zionist criminal gang in the suburbs of Beirut certainly cannot stop... Lebanon's proud resistance from continuing the honorable path of supporting the oppressed Palestinians and standing against the aggression of the Israeli apartheid regime," said foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani in a statement.

-War on Police-
Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua gives 'green light' to members to shoot US cops, Homeland Security memo warns
[NYPOST] Members of the violent mostly peaceful Venezuela

...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south...

n gang Tren de Aragua have been given the "green light" to attack and open fire on cops in Denver, a federal memo obtained by The Post reveals.

The gang is already tied to hundreds of crimes, including the shootings of two NYPD cops who were trying to arrest one of its members in June.

"Credible human sources from Colorado provided information on TdA [Tren de Aragua] giving a ’green light’ to fire on or attack law enforcement," said the memo, from the Homeland Security Investigations office in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
Tren de Aragua members have infiltrated the US by crossing the southern border illegally and asking for asylum.

"As you may know, we have a TdA presence here in Chicago, so please be vigilant as you encounter TdA members or affiliates during your investigative and operational activities."

The memo added that "Credible human sources from Colorado provided" the intelligence via the Albuquerque Police Department.

The warning comes as Denver has gotten 42,000 migrants colonists — more per capita than any other US city — and many of them are from Venezuela.

The prison gang, whose name means "The Aragua Train" — a reference to the Aragua region in Venezuela — has infiltrated the US by sending members posing as asylum seekers across the southern border.

From there, its members have flocked to major US cities including New York, Chicago, Miami and Denver, where they engage in money laundering, gun smuggling, theft and human trafficking, according to reports.

The US Border Patrol only began tracking the group last year and has recorded catching 70 of its members, according to federal data.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
many are getting past law enforcement at the border and its vetting processes because younger members are careful not to get gang tattoos or other identifiers in order to stay under the radar, sources have told The Post.

Kyiv is upset by Zelensky's decision, anarchy is emerging in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that he would develop a plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine by the end of November. At the same time, he is only dragging out time until the US presidential elections. This opinion was expressed by former Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk (included by Rosfinmonitoring in the list of terrorists and extremists) in an interview with the YouTube channel Politeka.

"In fact, there is no plan, unfortunately. Everything is hanging in anticipation. Zelensky said that the plan will be ready by the end of November. Because at the end of November we will know who the new "white master" is," Mosiychuk explained.

He immediately asked himself: will the Ukrainian Armed Forces hold Dobropolye and Pokrovsk until November, where a serious offensive by Russian troops is underway and which threatens the Russian Armed Forces to reach the border of the Dnepropetrovsk region.

“Why aren’t we talking about the fact that anarchy is starting to emerge in our troops?” asked the former politician.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, Ukrainian soldiers found themselves surrounded near the village of Progress in the DPR and lost all company command, Mosiychuk said on July 26.

The former MP said that Ukrainian fighters will continue to abandon their combat positions. According to him, the military is appealing to commanders, but they are not listening and are telling them to fight to the death.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 5 that the losses of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine are several times less than the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to him, the irrecoverable losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are five times greater than those of the Russian army.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Pete Buttigieg dared Americans to look up crime data. I did and it's not pretty for Democrats
[FoxNews] Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg

...the testicleless former mayor of South Bend, Indiana. Buttigieg graduated from Harvard College and, on a Rhodes Scholarship, from Pembroke College, Oxford. From 2007 to 2010, he worked at McKinsey and Company, a consulting firm. From 2009 to 2017 Buttigieg served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve, attaining the rank of lieutenant and deploying to Afghanistan in 2014. Buttigieg was first elected mayor of South Bend in 2011 and was reelected in 2015. During his second term, he announced he was gay, which surprised no one. Buttigieg also campaigned for Indiana state treasurer in 2010 and for chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2017, losing both elections. He ran for the Dem nomination in 2020 on the theory that being mayor of a nondescript medium sized city is qualification to run the country. He lost that one too. Biden appointed him Secretary of Transportation, which he turned into shambles...

declared on "Fox News Sunday" this past weekend that Republicans are offering a "false message" about the nation’s crime crisis. He scolded Fox News for "trying to make people think that crime is up when crime is down under Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The man who made Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter look competent, if only by comparison....
and crime was up under Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...
." He said this isn’t reported on Fox News, "so if you’re watching this at home, do yourself a favor and look up the data."

While Democrat-paid social media influencers celebrated Buttigieg, he should probably stick to creating electric vehicle propaganda videos for social media. Anyone reviewing the data would know he’s using a politically dishonest statistical sleight of hand--blaming Trump for crime going up thanks to the very policies Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
instituted, then crime going "down" after the policies were reversed.

Major cities across the country, mostly run by Democrats, saw a tumultuous period of crime rates spurred by progressive "criminal justice reforms" and police defunding thanks to Democrats who acquiesced to the demands of Black Lives Matter radicals. As I write in my book, "What’s Killing America: Inside the Radical Left’s Tragic Destruction of Our Cities," the result was an unmitigated disaster.

As police departments were defunded, the nationwide murder rate surged 30% in 2020, making it the largest single-year increase in over a century. The next year, we saw a 4.3% increase in murders nationwide. Prior to the reforms, under Trump, violent mostly peaceful crimes were going down.
FBI Director Wray marks 100 years of crime fighting for fingerprint lab Video

Leveraging the COVID pandemic as a pretext, Democrats either stopped booking criminals or released them early, claiming they’d face imminent death from COVID if they were to stay locked up. For example, Cornelius Haney was released from prison early over COVID when he was arrested for the murder of a 21-year-old woman in Denver. Two days after Jerry Crawford was released from prison to reduce the spread of COVID, he was arrested for shooting an 18-year-old man to death.

While Buttigieg and other Democrats try to memory-hole reality, we saw a terrifying rise of left-wing political violence perpetrated by activists, including Antifa
...the armed wing of the Democratic Party...
, with criminals taking advantage of soft-on-crime legislation, such as a ban on police vehicular pursuits in Washington state and downgrading serious felonies by George Soros
...either Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Auric Goldfinger come true...
-backed prosecutors in Los Angeles, the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
and New York.

FBI National Crime reporting database seems to be missing for 2020-2023.

DOJ/FBI now only presents politically correct, racially neutral data up to 2022.

Eg.
Offender & Victim Ethnicity is now only track by:
"Not Hispanic", "Unknown", and "Hispanic" now.
No Asian, Black, Middle Eastern, or Illegal status.

Plus, it seems the 2022 crime data was only from 16,100 of 18,930 reporting agencies.

So who are the 2,830 missing agencies and cities?
So were they Democrat related locations?

New Labour government announces spending cuts, will strip retirees of energy benefits in order to keep welcoming third world migrants
[AmericanThinker] Earlier this month, England underwent major political changes (at least on the surface), and the far-left Keir Starmer took up residence at Downing Street 10, leading a Labour Party landslide into the federal government. Then yesterday afternoon, Starmer’s finance minister Rachel Reeves shared the government’s new "high tax, high spending" budget with the "necessary" actions she doesn’t want to take, but has to, for economic security of course.

Leftist Labour Gov’t Cuts Winter Energy Aid to Millions of Pensioners, Preps Mass Tax Hikes

In her first major address to Parliament on Monday, Chancellor Rachel Reeves — the head of the Treasury Department — confirmed the high-tax, high spending agenda of the new Labour government.

Reeves claimed that she ’did not want to have to do this’ but asserted that the previous Conservative government of Rishi Sunak had left a £22 billion ’black hole’ in Britain’s finances, the Daily Mail reports.

This deficit was exacerbated by illegal immigration and the asylum system, the overspend on which rose to £6.4 billion this year alone. The chancellor also pointed to more spending on the National Health Service (NHS), funding for the war in Ukraine, and highway and road maintenance.

To meet the spending costs, Reeves said that the government would scrap energy bill support this winter for potentially up to 10 million pensioners.

Government Corruption
Pentagon Finds Another $2 Billion In Ukraine Aid 'Accounting Errors'
[ZeroHedge] The Pentagon discovered $2 billion in additional accounting errors regarding its valuation of missiles, ammo, and other equipment provided to Kiev, a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report found days ago. The Defense Department made a similar claim last year, saying it availed Washington of $6.2 billion in weapons to fuel the Ukraine proxy war with Russia.

This latest report brings the improperly valued military material to a total of $8.2 billion, with the error said to be a result of unclear accounting definitions. In June 2023, the Pentagon insisted that weapons shipped to Ukraine from US military stockpiles, under the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), over the past two years were overvalued using the “replacement value” of the arms as opposed to the “depreciated value.” This bought the White House some time to continue sending weapons to Kiev after much of the US funding then allocated for the war had dried up.

In April, Congress passed and President Joe Biden signed into law a massive $95 billion foreign military aid supplemental which included $61 billion to keep the Ukraine war going.

This is despite Kiev’s inability to win the war or reclaim significant territory already seized by Russia. After discovering the latest overvaluations, the Pentagon told the GAO it now has another $2 billion in weapons which can be shipped to Ukraine.

“The GAO said a vague definition of value in the Foreign Assistance Act and the absence of specific valuation guidance for [PDA] have led to inconsistencies in the reported value of military aid,” Reuters reported.

For instance, 10 vehicles were incorrectly valued at $7,050,000 compared to their zero net book value. The GAO has made some recommendations to Congress as well as the Pentagon to resolve the inconsistencies.

Military aid for Kiev is provided in another form besides PDA, namely the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, whereby aid funds are used to purchase arms directly from the weapons industry.

In April, prior to the passing of the $95 billion foreign military aid bill, the Office of Management and Budget revealed the White House had severely undercounted its total spending on the Ukraine war by at least $14 billion.

Therefore, Washington has spent a total of $186 billion in its effort to “weaken” Russia using Ukraine as a proxy force. Since the invasion, it has been estimated that approximately 500,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed or injured.

Celeb-led 'White Women for Kamala' is cringe city
[NYPOST] Just when I thought the racialized madness of 2020 was floating away — that it had been destroyed by reason and sanity.

It’s back. And on Zoom, no less, the medium of choice for the crazy COVID era.

With a woman of color on the Democratic ticket, progressives have fallen back on their worst instincts: performative alliance and race essentialism. Politics by segregation.

Last week, Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts organized a massive Zoom meeting — "White Women: Answer the Call" — for Kámala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, then a senatrix from California former 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, and Joe Biden's wing nut, Joe's intended successor'...
On the call, which drew over 200,000 participants, reportedly raised $2 million and has been dubbed the largest Zoom in history, Watts declared (with great humility, of course): "White women, we have 100 days to help save the world."

I thought white saviors were bad? Hey, on the plus side, the left suddenly knows what a woman is again.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Fox News anchor Bret Baier... [stands up].
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier thinks the White House owes his network an apology.

But he won't be holding his breath.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, the anchor and executive editor of Special Report with Bret Baier fired back at Democratic critics, who have sought to undermine his reporting on President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Joe's wife and daughter weren't killed by a drunk driver. He didn't graduate with three or even two degrees, wasn't in the top half of his law class, and his daddy didn't come home from a hard day's work in the mines and play football with the guys. The NAACP hasn't endorsed him every time he's run....
's record of disturbing public incidents.

And, while Baier is not yet ready to declare a 'White House cover-up' of the president's true condition, he's not ruling it out and he's certainly not done investigating who knew what and when.

'There was clearly an effort to prevent some of what they knew [about Biden's health] from getting out,' Baier told the Mail. 'We're going to find out that there's a lot more to this... What got [Biden] from adamant that he will be the nominee to writing a letter that he was going to step down? What was that? What epiphany happened?'

For his part, Baier revealed he has heard potentially explosive 'rumors' that former Speaker of the House Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
was threatening to release polling that undermined Biden's case for staying in the race.

And he said that President Obama was reportedly exerting his influence behind the scenes to push Biden off the political stage.

In our interview, Baier also questioned who is truly in charge in the White House, as Biden seemingly hands over more influence and power to his Vice President.

'Now that you're going to have Kámala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, then a senatrix from California former 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, and Joe Biden's wing nut, Joe's intended successor'...
meeting separately with foreign leaders, like we saw with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu [last week] and having her own pressers,' Baier said, 'we have a situation where President Biden may fade from the spotlight and there could be, in essence, a co-presidency.'

In the 16 years that he's anchored Special Report, taking over from his friend and mentor FNC legend Brit Hume, Baier said that he has never been through such a 'crazy' and 'consequential' period in US politics.

And, he made clear, the story is far from over.

In the days and weeks before Biden shocked the country by appearing frail and confused on a debate stage with Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
, Baier and his FOX News Channel (FNC) colleagues were accused of spreading manipulated videos or 'cheap fakes' of the president.

It's an allegation, Baier argues, that should now be dismissed as patently absurd.

'This wasn't a video that we were editing,' he said. 'This was a video that showed President Biden being led off the stage by former President Obama [at a June 15 fundraiser in Los Angeles]. It was there for viewers to see.'

Kamala Harris' $5 billion green bus failure shows she can't even handle the small stuff
[NYPOST] From the border disaster all the way down to the small stuff, presumptive Dem nominee Kámala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, then a senatrix from California former 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, and Joe Biden's wing nut, Joe's intended successor'...
’ record, like that of President Biden, is one of spectacular failure.

The latest case in point? A green school bus boondoggle.

In 2022, Harris was front and center screaming about how wonderful it was that the feds were poised to burn about $5 billion over five years to build electric school bus fleets as part of the 2021 infrastructure package that Biden signed into law.

Now? Fewer than 7% of the districts initially set up with the program have actually completed the switch to electric vehicles.

Huge numbers of districts have withdrawn from the program because their school boards opposed it, or because of the costly infrastructure upgrades necessary to charge the buses.

The project never made fiscal sense.

As one superintendent put it, "This only makes economic sense if the bus is paid for with a grant like we received. The cost is so prohibitive that the cost savings are not worth it."

As the Washington Free Beacon, which first reported on the fiasco, noted, the electric buses are three times more expensive, and replacing the entire nation’s fleet would top $200 billion.

It’s beyond astonishing that at a moment when America’s standardized test scores have plummeted, violence and chaos plague its public schools and ideologues in teachers unions have commandeered the education process, Harris would even consider praising the idea of funneling billions to districts that can’t even use the money.

That’s how hard-left zealots like Harris think.

Yet the tragicomedy here is that she and the rest of Team Biden couldn’t even manage this properly — yet continued handing out mountains of cash for the program.

Video captures Communists marching in Philadelphia, chanting for a ‘class war'
[FoxNews] Videos have emerged showing hundreds of demonstrators marching with communist flags on the streets of Philadelphia, chanting for a "class war" and to "fight the rich and feed the poor!"

The scenes were captured as the Revolutionary Communists of America (RCA) says it held its founding congress in the Pennsylvania city this past weekend.

Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, posted an "!" in response to one of the clips shared on X. In it, marchers can be seen carrying red flags with hammers and sickles on them.

On its website, the RCA identifies itself as a "party of class fighters committed to the complete overthrow of capitalism."

"We fight for a world of material superabundance and reject the artificial scarcity of a system based on the pursuit of profits," the group continues. "We fight to build a revolutionary leadership worthy of the name and to establish a workers’ government that can mobilize the working class to tackle the capitalist roots of war, inequality, oppression, and climate catastrophe."

The Philadelphia Police Department told Fox News Digital that around 300 people participated in the event and permits for it were secured beforehand. (WTXF)
Permits? How bourgeois! So are these real working class communists, upper class champagne socialists, or the mentally ill alphabet types who need merely be triggered and pointed in the desired direction?
"As part of the struggle for the American Socialist Revolution, we fight for concrete improvements in workers’ lives and offer a vision for how society could be reorganized once the working class wins political and economic power," the group also says.

A Philadelphia Police Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital that about 300 people participated in the march and there were "no significant issues, no citations, no arrests."

Key House investigator vows to pierce coverup on Secret Service's Jan. 6 failures with a subpoena
[JustTheNews] The Homeland Security Department’s inspector general has completed a report on Secret Service missteps during the Capitol crisis 3 ½ years ago but is refusing to release it

As Congress turns its attention to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life, a key House investigator vowed Monday to issue a subpoena to force the disclosure of a long-delayed report on an earlier Secret Service failure to detect a bomb that could have jeopardized Kamala Harris’ life the morning of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

The Homeland Security Department’s inspector general has completed a report on Secret Service missteps during the Capitol crisis 3 ½ years ago but is refusing to release it even though footage Just the News published a year ago shows Secret Service agents took then Vice President-elect Harris within 10 yards of an undetected explosive device planted at the Democratic National Committee headquarters, Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., said.
I suppose it’s comforting to know that they are equal opportunity non-protectors…
“We need to get this ... report. We need to see it,” Loudermilk told the John Solomon Reports podcast. “And it needs to happen soon because we just created a task force to look at it. And ... I think there's important information there.”

Asked whether he was prepared to issue a subpoena, Loudermilk answered: “Absolutely.” He said he could like to coordinate the records demand with the new task force appointed by House Speaker Mike Johnson to probe the July 13 Trump assassination attempt.

"Maybe coming from two fronts will cause them to break it loose," he said,

The Georgia Republican is the chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight that has been probing extensive security and intelligence failures that preceded the Jan. 6 tragedy.

Loudermilk last week sent a letter accusing Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of holding up the release of two reports by the inspector general, the agency’s independent watchdog, including the one entitled “United States Secret Service Preparation for and Response to the Events of January 6, 2021.”

“We are aware that the Secret Service has reviewed and cleared this report. Therefore, you alone are preventing the DHS OIG from releasing this report to Congress,” Loudermilk said. “Given the events of July 13, 2024, yet another security failure by the U.S. Secret Service (“USSS”) to detect and prevent a serious threat to a protectee, there is absolutely no justification for your delay.”

Spain Allows Russian Frigate Shtandart to Enter Port of Vigo
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Russian sailing frigate Shtandart was allowed to enter the Spanish port of Vigo. This was reported by the press service of the Spanish Merchant Marine Administration.

It is specified that the standard is allowed to enter the port to replenish food supplies, as well as to replace some parts of the ship.

“The Main Directorate of the Merchant Fleet <…> has permitted the forced entry of the vessel Shtandart strictly for the time necessary to carry out supply and replacement operations,” Izvestia quotes the directorate’s message.

At the same time, the department noted that after completing the necessary operations, the ship should depart from the port as soon as possible.

Martus, whose words are quoted by RIA Novosti, said that he will appeal the decision on European sanctions in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

Despite the current situation, the frigate plans to take part in the maritime festival in Normandy, France, Martus added.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 23, the Russian vessel was not allowed into France. This happened after the EU added a wording about “copies of historical vessels,” which is what the frigate is, to the anti-Russian sanctions.

After that, the ship decided to go to Spain and dock in the port of Vigo, but was refused there too. Earlier, in an interview with the Regnum news agency, Martus said that in 25 years of the frigate's travels and participation in festivals throughout Europe, the sailors had never had any problems, but the sanctions changed everything. He added that many Europeans were outraged by the refusal to allow the ship to dock, and the crew itself intends to go to court. There are 15 people from seven countries on board, including three teenagers.

On July 27, residents of one of the cities on the island of Il-Arousa began to help the Shtandart team replenish food and water supplies. They themselves offered to bring water on local fishing boats.

Sacrificial lamb? Why Harris became the only possible opponent for Trump
The View from Russia
[RT] After the apparent loss of the first presidential election debate, the obvious question was "How long until Biden drops out?"

The final days of Biden’s presidential campaign after the debate were reminiscent of the sinking of the Titanic: the inexorability of the crash was matched only by its swiftness. Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Operation Gomorrah
[IsraelNationalNews] In some respects, Hamburg of 1943 and Gaza of 2023 have remarkable similarities. The free world, and Jews in particular, are fortunate that in 1943, during Operation Gomorrah, there was no Facebook, Instagram, X, or Tik-Tok , that the NYT, Haaretz, and The Guardian still had some sense of morality, and that the UN didn’t exist.

It is undeniable that the photographs and footage coming out of Gaza are deeply shocking and disturbing. And it is easy to understand how these graphic images influence public opinion. To be sure, every dead Gazan, every Gazan child crying over a destroyed home, every young Gazan mother holding her dead baby is a gruesomely effective propaganda tool for the Hamas against Israel. All the explanations and all the historical context in the world can never combat the heart-wrenching sights of the consequences of the war in Gaza.

Hamas claims a current death-toll of some 40,000 dead, about a quarter children, and up to 100,000 injured, including about 10,000 permanently disabled. Though these figures are taken directly from Hamas and are inherently suspect, the UN and most of the world’s media cite them as though they are definitive. In fact, well over 20,000 of the dead are identified Hamas terrorists. Some of them are indeed children; but a 14-year-old boy brandishing an AK-47 Kalashnikov or an RPG is just as much a combatant, and just as dangerous, as a 26-year-old man brandishing the same weapon. This means that even according to Hamas's propaganda figures, more than half the deaths in Gaza are combatants. This is a better ratio than just about any other urban conflict in the world.

Georgia Democrats and Republicans Find Common Ground, Demand Switch to Paper Ballots
[BREITBART] Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
and Republicans in Georgia have found common ground and are demanding the state election board ditch electronic voting machines and switch to paper ballots.

The two political parties in the state have called for the Georgia election board to go from using Dominion Voting Systems’ electronic voting machines to using hand-marked paper ballots, according to 11Alive News. The groups have noted how easily hackers can "manipulate elections."

After the 2020 presidential election, Dominion filed a lawsuit claiming that Fox News had suggested that the company had rigged the voting machines, leading to former President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
losing the election to President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body....
"It’s madness, actually, to go into a system and have all of our ballots relying on that," Jeanne Dufort, the chair of the Morgan County Democrat Party, said in a statement.

Dr. Rich DeMillo, the founder of Georgia Tech’s School of Cybersecurity and Privacy, described a "series of breaches" — especially ones in cybersecurity within the last "two years" — as being "story after story" of some sort of "vulnerability in a system" that had been ignored.

"If you look at the series of breaches, global breaches of cybersecurity systems over the last two years, it’s story after story like this where some vulnerability in a system was ignored," DeMillo said in a statement.

After the 2020 presidential election, several counties in Georgia that had used Dominion Voting Systems’ software reported that they had encountered glitches during the election.

The outlet also noted that security cameras had captured Trump supporters "entering the secure area of Coffee County’s election office" and that they had copied election software.

"We believe the experts who tell us that bad guys, foreign and domestic, are interested in overturning election results or interfering with them," Dufort added. "And we absolutely believe they now have really good tools to do that."

* ONLY humans can donate,
* Ballots must be printed on controlled Watermarked special paper.
* Yearly update and Control of Voter Rolls and voter addresses.
* Photo of Valid State ID for Absentee ballot to be issued,
* Ballot boxes will be sealed with serial numbered tape, escorted by B.O.E. staff, and assign poll watchers, while being recorded by mobile CCTV.
* Once any person has been issued an Absentee ballot, the name is flagged from voting that election in person.

No matter, what the final solution.
There MUST BE serious controls and legal penalties place that used and applied.

Democrat-Run Philadelphia: More than 650 Shooting Victims Thus Far in 2024
[Breitbart] Data from Philadelphia’s City Controller indicates there have been more than 650 shooting victims in the Democrat-run city thus far in 2024.

According to City Controller Christy Brady, 141 shooting victims shuffled off the mortal coil and 511 survived.

Brady also pointed out that 85 percent of the shooting victims were male, 15 percent were female, and 81 percent of the victims were "Black (non Hispanic)."

The Philadelphia Police Department maintains a database on homicides in the city that shows 153 people have been killed in Philadelphia year-to-date. The figure of 153 homicides is 38 percent below where the city was on the same day in 2023.

On April 11, 2024, WHYY pointed to a Pew Charitable Trusts report which showed that the somewhat diminished homicide and violent mostly peaceful crime crime numbers of 2024 came on the heels of a rough 2023 where "the number of property crimes, like car and retail thefts, skyrocketed."

"The total number of major crimes — which is the combined tally of violent mostly peaceful crime and property crime — reached a 20-year high," WHYY noted in 2023.

Top foreign policy GOPers threaten to subpoena State Department for classified info on suspended Iran envoy Rob Malley
[NYPost] Top Republicans on committees overseeing US foreign policy threatened to subpoena the State Department on Tuesday after the agency failed to fork over information about suspended Iran envoy Robert Malley, according to a letter exclusively obtained by The Post.
He stinks of Iranian corruption
Senate Foreign Relations Committee ranking member Jim Risch (R-Idaho) and House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) in the letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrote that they were "deeply" troubled by more than a year of obfuscations over Malley’s departure.

"Mr. Malley’s alleged misconduct is serious, and the Department’s lack of transparency and blatant disregard for the urgency of our requests is unacceptable," Risch and McCaul wrote.

"We have been made aware that there may be a classified response to our letter but have yet to receive it," they added.

The GOP lawmakers asked for "fulsome answers" to their questions by Friday — or they "will be compelled to pursue compulsory processes to secure any documents, materials, and testimony" relevant to the matter, which would include issuing subpoenas.

Risch and McCaul pointed to their earlier letter on May 6, which uncovered "troubling allegations" of President Biden’s special envoy to Iran storing classified material on his personal email account and cellphone.

That material was later accessed by a "hostile cyber actor," the lawmakers said at the time.

They also wanted to know whether Malley tried to send the classified material to anyone without a security clearance and whether Iran was responsible for the alleged hack, among several other queries related to the State Department and FBI’s ongoing investigation into the matter.

Since his security clearance was pulled in April 2023, Malley has been put on unpaid leave and has become the subject of State Department Office of Inspector General and FBI investigations.

He also landed plum teaching gigs at Princeton University and Yale University since quietly leaving the State Department.
Of course they hired him for their students. Who was it that gave the former Taliban minister a full scholarship, even though he couldn’t read in any language?
Blinken has his own "longstanding relationship" with Malley, which should prompt more transparency about the investigations, Risch and McCaul noted.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry launched an influence campaign during the Biden administration that ensnared at least two top aides to Malley and a third who was selected due to having a role at a think tank that Malley formerly ran, Semafor previously reported.

That campaign was known as the Iran Experts Initiative.

The probe findings and reported details are reminiscent the FBI’s 2015 criminal investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for storing tens of thousands of emails on unsecured private servers. At least 81 of the email chains discussed classified information, that investigation found, and seven referenced classified material at the Top Secret/Special Access Program level — but the bureau never recommended criminally charging Clinton.

Malley had previously served as a top negotiator of the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or the Iran nuclear deal, during the Obama administration.

In that role, he advocated for sanctions relief on Tehran in exchange for temporary restrictions to its nuclear program — policy changes that were reversed by the Trump administration.

Though it has tried, the Biden administration has thus far failed resurrect the Iran nuclear deal, which former President Donald Trump’s State Department withdrew from in 2018.

“Rob Malley remains on leave,” a State Department spokesperson told The Post. “Nevertheless, the Department has provided Congress with relevant information on personnel inquiries relating to Iran policy.”

“We have been and will continue to be in frequent contact with Congress on issues pertaining to Iran,” the spokesperson added.

The Mandarinate: The 3rd-Party That Isn't On The US Election Ticket
[ZEROHEDGE] One of the dangers that democracies face is that of the machinery of government morphing into a political party with its own culture, traditions, methods and, needless to say, interests -- above all that of self-perpetuation. Thus, the US has a third, invisible party, besides the Republicans and Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
.

The Federal Government employs almost three million people. Of those, between 5,000 and 7,000 change when the White House changes occupants.

Tenured, at times life-long, jobs help perpetuate a Mandarinate that sees its task as keeping the ship of state on a course it has set.

That Mandarinate is especially well-entrenched in the State Department, the Pentagon, the Treasury and, more importantly, the judiciary.

It also has well-established, at times incestuous, relations with lobbyists, single-issue activist groups, universities with their tenured academics, and think tanks with rotating doors to government departments and the media.

The Mandarinate maintains close ties with those unmovable, effectively tenured members of the Senate and House of Representatives.

Conspiracy theorists refer to this Mandarinate as "the deep state".

However,
a lie repeated often enough remains a lie...
what we are dealing with isn't the product of a conspiracy by a cabal in a black chamber. It is the organic product of a system in which democracy is reduced to elections, and elections reduced to a beauty contest, just as a set of rituals is often marketed as a religion.

Winning an election is an art; governing is quite a different one.

Another key issue is the redistribution of power at the federal and state levels. In several states, especially in the South, confederal anxieties abide. This is often unjustly seen as "redneck" prejudice or even rank racism. But the fact is that the closer the decision-making process is to those affected, the stronger a democracy is.

Trump has tried to express that view in his bull-in-the-china-shop style, while advocating the opposite by calling for an increase in presidential power.

Elitist Democrats on the other hand preach the old federalist gospel of states close to water -- especially the two oceans and the Great Lakes.

This is why Democrats portray the recent decision by the Supreme Court on allowing some states to set their own rules on child sacrifice abortion as an attack on democracy rather than a move towards decentralization that could be extended to other issues.

Rebalancing power between Washington and the states has been an issue since the end of the Civil War.

The states of the defeated Confederacy suffered 12 years of military occupation by the Union army, not to mention plundering by "carpetbaggers," at the end of which they signed a treaty that, while ruling out fissiparous dreams, promised a rebalancing process that never happened.

While the two candidates fire abuse at one another, the voter isn't told what they actually mean to do about cracks in the structures of world order, the war in Ukraine, China as a threat or a rival, the exponential rise of anti-Semitic activities and the deepening of incivility in public life.

On November 5 the Mandarinate or the third party won't be on any ticket.

#1  A bit deceptive. Yes there are about 3M.

Of those about 600k are postal employees.
About the same number are DOD civilians.
About 400k work for the Veterans Admin.

The total number of civilian employees has been nearly constant since about 1990.

Certainly it is true that some individuals create an empire or sorts for themselves and some lie, cheat and steal. Also true that there is considerable waste.

But the deep state is not a monolith and parts of it are constantly in tension with other parts of it and a President and Cabinet willing to do hard work and smart enough to then get it done can get a lot done with the people they have on hand.

IDF strikes Beirut: Hezbollah commander responsible for Majdal Shams strike confirmed killed
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[Jpost] The city has been on edge for days ahead of an anticipated Israeli attack in retaliation in Majdal Shams, where Israel and the United States have blamed Hezbollah for the attack.

Israeli Air Force fighter jets killed Hezbollah's most senior military commander and the head of its Strategic Unit, Fuad Shukr "Sayyid Muhsan," in the area of Beirut Tuesday afternoon.

Shukr is a Hezbollah commander who was responsible for the strike on Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights a few days earlier, which killed 12 Israeli Druze youth.

The Hezbollah official had a $5 million bounty "on his head," according to the United States Rewards for Justice.

Shukr was Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's military adviser and has been active in the terrorist organization for 30 years, where he was the head of the terrorist group's operations room, three senior security sources told Reuters. Shukar also goes by the names "Hajj Mohsen" and "Muhsin Shukr."

Fuad was responsible for the majority of Hezbollah's most advanced weaponry, including precise-guided missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range rockets, and UAVs, the IDF reported. He was responsible for building Hezbollah forces and planning and executing terror attacks against the State of Israel.

Shukr was sanctioned by the United States in 2015.

Fuad joined Hezbollah in 1985 and has held several senior positions within the terrorist organization. He was also a member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah's most senior military forum.

In the 1990s, Fuad orchestrated numerous attacks against the IDF and the South Lebanon Army. In 2000, he was directly involved in the abduction of the bodies of three IDF soldiers: St.-Sgt. Benyamin Avraham, St.-Sgt. Adi Avitan, and St.-Sgt. Omar Sawaid. They were killed by Hezbollah terrorists while patrolling the security fence adjacent to Har Dov.

Since then, Fuad has planned and directed numerous terror attacks against innocent civilians.

Directly after the strike, a loud blast was heard, and a plume of smoke could be seen rising above the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital as a result of the strike, a stronghold of the Lebanese terrorist group.

Two people were killed in the attack, Saudi news source Al-Hadath reported.

CASUALTIES IN STRIKE
A correspondent for Al-Mayadeen, a news source affiliated with Hezbollah, said that the strike in the city was in a densely populated area and that there were about 10 wounded - not clarifying if those wounded were civilians or terrorists. State media, on the other hand, said that one woman was killed and seven people were wounded.

The correspondent also claimed that the strike was at a residential building adjacent to the Bahman Hospital.

Lebanon's state-run national news agency said the strike targeted the area around Hezbollah's Shura Council in the Haret Hreik neighborhood of the capital.

The US State Department said on Tuesday that the United States will continue pursuing diplomacy to avert an escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah.

Earlier on Tuesday, Hezbollah said it fired at Israeli warplanes that broke the sound barrier in Lebanese airspace, adding that it forced the warplanes to turn back.

Israel says it has struck Beirut, targeting commander accused in deaths of 12 children and teens

[NYPOST] Israel launched an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in the Lebanese capital of Beirut Tuesday — targeting a Hezbollah commander accused in the slaughter of 12 children in a rocket attack over the weekend.

The Israeli military confirmed in an X post that it was behind the strikes, which it says were intended to take out the leader believed to be responsible for Saturday’s massacre at a soccer field in the Israel-controlled Golan Heights.

"The IDF carried out a targeted strike in Beirut, on the commander responsible for the murder of children in Majdal Shams and the killing of numerous additional Israeli civilians," they wrote in a statement.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged a "swift, harsh and painful" response to the vicious rocket attack by Hezbollah, which also injured 40 civilians.

"These children are our children... The state of Israel will not, and cannot, let this pass," he said. "Our response will come and it will be harsh."

Israel vows ’swift, harsh and painful’ response after Hezbollah attack killed 12 kids: ’Picking the targets’

At least one person was killed and several others injured in Tuesday’s strike in the southern suburbs of Beirut, an area known as a stronghold for the Iran-backed terror group.

The attack consisted of three missiles launched from an aerial drone, according to NNA, Leb

Flights to Beirut airport were canceled starting Monday amid fears of disruptions caused by Israel’s retaliatory strike.

Since the attack on the soccer field Israeli forces have conducted several airstrikes in southern Lebanon, including a drone attack Monday that reportedly killed two Hezbollah operatives.

IDF followed that strike with additional barrages that destroyed several of the Islamist turban group’s weapons caches, as well as infrastructure in Lebanon.

Hezbollah has bravely denied any role in the attack.

The US does not have enough naval power to develop the Arctic, media reports
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] The Pentagon's new "Arctic" strategy states that in the coming years, northern states will begin to confront each other for Arctic resources, but even with the support of NATO allies, the United States may not have enough naval power to develop the region, RIA Novosti columnist Andrei Kots noted in his publication on July 30.

Russia and China are deepening their cooperation, thereby hindering US plans to work in the Arctic, and Western sanctions against Russia have benefited it, since Moscow has found other buyers for its exports and is developing the North even faster than before, the Pentagon strategy notes.

The accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO has helped the United States strengthen its position in the region, but these countries, like other Washington allies in the region, do not have enough icebreakers and other necessary forces, including naval ones, the agency's observer believes.

Russia's position is much more advantageous - both in terms of the number of icebreakers and logistics, the number of military bases and airfields, and the readiness of troops to carry out assigned tasks, the author noted. Russia is ready for a potential battle for the most important region, Kots concluded.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, on July 13, former Supreme Allied Commander Europe James Stavridis noted the superiority of Russia's icebreaker fleet over the vessels of the military bloc's member countries. He also emphasized that Moscow has a more active and consistent program for developing the Arctic.

In December 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Arctic has enormous potential, and the development of its territories is an indisputable priority for the country. On June 28, it became known that the Russian government will allocate about 30 billion rubles to develop infrastructure in the locations of military formations in the Arctic.

On July 28, Russian presidential aide Nikolai Patrushev reported that Vladimir Putin had decided to create the Russian Maritime Collegium. The main task of the new structure will be to coordinate government bodies in the sphere of maritime policy.

On July 24, Patrushev said that Putin had ordered adjustments to strategic planning documents needed to develop the Navy and effectively protect the country's national interests. He noted that the United States and NATO countries are increasing their naval presence in areas of the World Ocean, including in waters adjacent to Russia, and given the growing threats, Russia is obliged to strengthen the Navy.

Northern Fleet forces deployed in Barents Sea during Russian Navy exercises

Northern Fleet forces have been deployed in the Barents Sea as part of large-scale exercises of the Russian Navy. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the fleet.

“The Northern Fleet forces have been deployed to combat training grounds to carry out combat exercises as part of a large-scale Russian Navy exercise that began the day before in the areas of responsibility of the Northern, Pacific, Baltic fleets and the Caspian flotilla,” the publication states.

According to the publication, the missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov marked the deployment of a naval strike line. After leaving the Kola Bay, the crew of this vessel conducted exercises to defeat a naval group of a simulated enemy and air defense.

On July 30, the Russian Navy began conducting scheduled exercises to use the forces of the Baltic, Northern, Pacific fleets, and the Caspian flotilla. As explained by the Ministry of Defense, the goal of the exercises was to check readiness to perform combat missions.

Zakharova says France has become an anti-Christian state
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris showed that France continues its crusade against itself, having turned from the “most Christian” nation into an anti-Christian state, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on July 30.
To be fair, anti-clericalism has been part of the national identity since the French Revolution.
In her Telegram channel, Zakharova recalled that the French kings of the Merovingian and Carolingian dynasties were once officially called "the most Christian", and the French nation remained faithful to the Pope even during the Reformation in Europe. Even Napoleon, who was interested in preserving the Christian tradition, accepted the crown from the Pope's hands, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.

"General de Gaulle, a secular head of state, attached great importance to Christianity, communicated with at least three pontiffs and, as memoirists write, talked with Pope John XXIII "about the trials that befell Christianity in connection with the gigantic upheavals of the 20th century." If he had known what awaited France in the first quarter of the 21st century, he would have cursed those who dared to mock the country," Zakharova wrote.

The public desecration and desecration of Christianity during the opening ceremony of the Olympics became a logical continuation of Paris' crusade against itself, and the once "most Christian of nations" became a small godless state, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the opening of the Olympics on July 26 and especially one of the episodes of the ceremony - a transvestite parody of Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" - were criticized around the world. In particular, American entrepreneur Elon Musk called this scene a blatant disrespect for Christians, US presidential candidate Donald Trump - a disgrace, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan - an insult not only to Christians but also to Muslims.

The organizers were also harshly criticized by Slovakian Deputy Prime Minister Tomas Taraba, leader of the Polish Law and Justice Party Jaroslaw Kaczynski, head of the Greek Orthodox Church Jerome II and others. Zakharova noted that the mockery of a subject sacred to Christians became the apotheosis of the ceremony.

The Olympic Organising Committee later apologised to those who were offended by the scenes shown during the opening ceremony. The Organising Committee's communications director Anne Deschamps said that the organisers had allegedly not intended to show disrespect to any religious group and that the director of the ceremony, Thomas Jolly, "wanted to celebrate the tolerance of society". Actor Philippe Catherine, who played one of the roles in the ceremony, also apologised to Christians.

Erdogan said he did not go to the opening of the Olympics because of LGBT propaganda
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on July 30 that he declined an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron and did not attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris at the request of his granddaughter.

According to the Turkish leader, his granddaughter told him that the ceremony would feature LGBT propaganda (recognized as an extremist movement in the Russian Federation and banned), and showed him relevant videos.

“Okay, granddaughter, I won’t go,” Erdogan said he replied.

During his speech at the headquarters of the ruling Turkish Justice and Development Party, Erdogan also said that he intends to call Pope Francis in the near future. The opening ceremony of the Olympics insulted not only Christians, but also Muslims, the Turkish president emphasized. The LGBT lobby, which does not tolerate criticism, has captured the Western world, he noted, pointing to the duplicity of LGBT propaganda against the backdrop of the ban on athletes wearing hijabs.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the opening of the Olympics on July 26 and especially one of the episodes of the ceremony - a transvestite parody of Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" - were criticized around the world. A magnetic storm has begun on Earth
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The magnetic storm that forecasters warned about has covered the Earth, Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos center, reported on July 30 in a Telegram channel.

“With a slight time delay, the forecasts are starting to come true - at 7:09 Moscow time, a weak magnetic storm of class G1 began on Earth,” Leus wrote.

Earlier, the weather forecaster reported a high probability of magnetic storms of a strong level G3. On Wednesday and Thursday, July 31 and August 1, storms of an average level G2 are expected, he noted.

Leus added that the onset of magnetic storms was expected on the night of July 29, but the geomagnetic field remained calm. Only on July 30 after 03:19 Moscow time did it become slightly disturbed.

As reported by IA Regnum, powerful magnetic storms hit the Earth in May and June, preceded by strong solar flares. In particular, the strongest flare of the highest X class was recorded twice on the Sun on June 1.

Vladimir Kuznetsov, Director of the Pushkov Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere and Radio Wave Propagation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IZMIRAN), previously explained that the Sun is at the peak of its activity, but there is no need to be afraid of magnetic storms. According to him, during the solar cycle (approximately 11 years of solar activity), the Earth experiences approximately 600 magnetic storms. At the same time, the expert called for taking into account their impact on people and technical systems on the planet and in space.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: July 30, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 22:37 Since the new mobilization law came into force in May of this year, Ukraine has mobilized about 30,000 people into the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is 2-3 times more than in the last winter months, and about the same number as Russia recruits monthly, The New York Times writes. A large number of new recruits will arrive at the front in the coming weeks, but some of them are poorly trained or out of shape, the publication notes.

21:48 Ukraine has begun to receive some information about prisoners from the Russian Federation, Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets reported: "We have finally begun to receive some information from the Russian side regarding prisoners. During the last exchange, we exchanged leaflets. Together with the Russian counter-intelligence, we simultaneously conducted a survey of prisoners of war - those whom Ukraine returned."

20:32 As a result of the attack on the Olenya military airfield in the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation, two Tu-22M3 strategic bombers were damaged, said Andrey Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate: "We can confirm the fact that two Tu-22M3 aircraft were hit. We are talking about aircraft No. 33 and aircraft No. 31. More time is needed to talk about the exact severity of the damage. But we can say in advance that aircraft No. 33 has holes in the upper part of the fuselage, and aircraft No. 31 also has some damage to the hull."

20:04 Zelensky reported that after Volyn region he visited Rivne region. One of the topics of today's visits is energy: "At the level of the entire state, we are working to protect energy facilities - all deadlines for specific facilities, which are now being announced at meetings, must be met. This will also be a criterion for some personnel issues." According to the president, most regions have significant potential for creating new generation.

19:26 Kerch and its suburbs are without power after fires at four power substations, Russian publics write. About 53 thousand people are left without power. The fire engulfed power facilities in the area of the 450th quarter, Mount Mithridates and the villages of Osoviny and Bondarenkovo. There is also no water in the city in the eastern part of Crimea. One of the possible causes of the fires is sabotage.

18:57 The General Staff reported the defeat of the oil depot Logistics Center No. 43 in the settlement of Vozy in the Kursk region. According to intelligence, the attack caused a fire at the facility, more detailed information is being clarified.

18:13 The Foreign Ministry has sent an invitation to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to visit Ukraine, the ministry's spokesman Georgy Tykhyi said. According to him, Kiev has also invited Beijing to participate in at least the interim meetings for the Second Peace Summit, which will take place soon. "We can say that they have taken this proposal seriously. But I will stop here for now and will not announce it further, we will see how the situation develops," the Foreign Ministry spokesman added.

17:37 Drones attempted to attack the Mozdok military airfield in North Ossetia. Local authorities claim there was no damage or casualties.

16:54 The United States will arm F-16 fighters supplied to Ukraine with American missiles and bombs, The Wall Street Journal writes, citing sources. According to them, this concerns AGM-88 HARM air-to-ground missiles, air-to-air missiles, high-precision bomb guidance kits, and small-diameter bombs. These weapons can be used on Russian territory "in response to attacks from abroad."

The newspaper also reports that the United States is exploring the possibility of expanding training for Ukrainian pilots, either at an air base in Arizona where training is already taking place, or at another facility in the country.

16:18 Ukraine is ready, if necessary, to participate in consultations with the EU on the situation surrounding the transit of oil from Russian Lukoil, if Brussels decides to use the appropriate mechanism, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgy Tikhy.

16:03 Sabotage and arson of Ukrainian military vehicles in the rear is the work of the Russian GRU, said Andrey Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council: "The main logic of the Russian Federation's actions now is that they cannot win at the front, so they are trying to create tension in the rear." He explained that the Russian GRU recruits Ukrainians in the rear for arson and other sabotage, offering money. Russian special services carry out similar tasks in the EU. "There they are trying to increase the number of sabotage acts and create an image of Ukrainians as terrorists for residents of EU countries. In this way, the Russians want to achieve a decrease in the West's desire to help Ukraine," Kovalenko noted.

15:40 Ukraine has increased the number of border guards in the regions bordering Russia and Belarus, Zelensky said during a trip to Volyn: "On our side, there is strong protection both in personnel and in the lines of defense. In all regions bordering Russia and Belarus, the number of border guards has also been increased. And we continue to strengthen this."

15:19 The Cabinet of Ministers approved the regulations on the Army+ application. It is assumed that the Ukrainian military will have access to such functions as receiving information from state electronic resources, submitting applications, electronic reports and other requests, generating and displaying information contained in military documents, posting multimedia content, conducting surveys and tests, etc.

14:04 Navy spokesman Dmitry Pletenchuk does not rule out that Russia may be preparing for another massive attack on Ukraine. According to him, all three submarine missile carriers are currently at sea and can have up to 12 missiles on board. In parallel, aircraft are being equipped with cruise missiles.

13:52 Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported that during yesterday's trip with Zelensky to the regions, two "critically important" agreements were signed for the Armed Forces of Ukraine with enterprises of the domestic defense industry complex worth almost UAH 5 billion.

13:25 Zelensky said that he was on a visit to the Volyn region, checked the progress of fortification construction and held a meeting on the security of the northern regions of Ukraine. "The main focus is on protecting our state border in the regions bordering Russia and Belarus. We continue to strengthen the Ukrainian border," the president noted.

13:11 The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrey Kovalenko, denied information from Telegram channels that Russians allegedly entered Toretsk in the Donetsk region: "As of 12:00 this day, the information about Russians entering Toretsk is not true."

12:48 Russian troops have begun using the North Korean long-range self-propelled anti-tank missile system Bulsae-4 in Ukraine, writes the specialized publication Militarnye. The system was discovered by Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance in one of the directions, when it was in an open area. Bulsae-4 can hit targets beyond the line of sight at a distance of more than 10 km. There is practically no precise data on the properties of the North Korean weapon, but some sources estimate the range of this system to be within 10-25 km.

12:17 A security guard at a hospital in Kyiv's Desnyansky district who failed to open the door to a shelter during an air raid alarm on the night of June 1, 2023, has been sentenced to four years in prison, the Prosecutor General's Office reported. Three people died at the time, including a nine-year-old child, due to the inability to get into the shelter.

11:26 Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine that Kiev, together with the IMF, estimates the additional financial need for 2025 from partners at $12-15 billion, since the war will continue: "We are now constantly discussing with our partners that we need additional financial assurance, because the war will continue in 2025, and we need to have a buffer."

10:50 Finnish President Alexander Stubb believes that "we are approaching the moment when negotiations must begin" between Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, Ukraine's main condition - the withdrawal of Russian troops from the occupied territories - "cannot be put forward as a precondition for possible negotiations," Stubb said. At the same time, he stressed that "the beginning of negotiations does not mean that you will make concessions."

"Ukraine needs security guarantees. And that's where we can help through bilateral agreements and a possible path to NATO and, of course, the European Union." Stubb also believes that Ukraine is now in a better position for negotiations than two months ago: "They have the necessary equipment and budgets to maintain their positions. We are no longer in the situation we were in in the spring, when American aid was blocked, and Europe had difficulties in delivering equipment to Kyiv. There is no Russian breakthrough either."

10:38 Over the past 24 hours, seven reconnaissance UAVs were destroyed by air defense in the south and east of Ukraine: four Zala, two Orlan-10 and a Supercam, the Air Force reported.

09:59 The Ukrainian Prime Minister's energy adviser Yuriy Boyko said that Ukraine could go through the next three months without any power outages or with minimal restrictions. At the same time, he added that this would be on condition that there are no new Russian attacks.

09:02 Drones attacked an oil depot in the Kursk region at night, three fuel tanks caught fire, said Acting Governor Alexey Smirnov. According to him, the fire has already been extinguished, there are no casualties.

08:53 In the morning, Russian troops shelled Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, one person was wounded, reported the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov.

08:44 In the morning, Russians fired artillery at Chornobaivka in the Kherson region, wounding one person, OVA reported. Over the previous day, eight people were wounded as a result of Russian shelling in the region. Critical infrastructure facilities and port infrastructure, a multi-story building and 24 private houses, and gas pipelines were damaged.

08:26 Four people were killed in Donetsk Oblast as a result of Russian shelling on July 29: three in Toretsk and one in Grodovets. Another five people in the region were injured in the past 24 hours, said OVA head Vadim Filashkin.

07:51 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of July 30:

  • personnel - about 577,060 (+1060) people,

  • tanks - 8381 (+25),

  • combat armored vehicles - 16,141 (+38),

  • artillery systems - 16,056 (+46),

  • MLRS - 1130 (+1),

  • air defense systems - 906 (+0),

  • aircraft - 363 (+0),

  • helicopters - 326 (+0),

  • Operational-tactical level UAVs - 12,832 (+27),

  • cruise missiles - 2406 (+0),

  • ships/boats - 28 (+0),

  • submarines - 1 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tank trucks - 21,687 (+53),

  • special equipment - 2696 (+6).

06:48 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports, citing geolocation footage, that Russian troops have achieved significant tactical successes in the Avdiivka area, advanced southwest of Donetsk, and completely captured the aggregate plant in Vovchansk. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState reports that the enemy has advanced near Spornoye, Razdolovka, Timofeevka, Progress, Konstantinovka, in Pivnichne and Zhelezne in the Donetsk region.

At the same time, ISW suggests that the Russian command may withdraw some Wagner troops from the Kharkiv region after the rebels in Mali dealt them a serious defeat. Experts recalled that elements of the African Corps were recently deployed to Ukraine to assist Russian offensive efforts in the north of the Kharkiv region. Now the African Corps probably lacks the current capabilities to properly replace Wagner operations, particularly in Mali.

Iraq
US forces conduct defensive airstrike in Iraq following rocket attack near Ain al-Asad airbase
[FoxNews] U.S. forces in Iraq conducted a defensive airstrike in the Musayib in Babil Province on Tuesday evening, a U.S. military official confirmed to Fox News.

The strike was carried out at 5 p.m. ET and targeted combatants attempting to launch one-way attack uncrewed aerial systems or OWAUAS, the official said.

"Based on recent attacks in Iraq and Syria, U.S. Central Command assessed that the OWAUAS posed a threat to U.S. and Coalition Forces," the official told Fox News. "This action underscores the United States' commitment to the safety and security of our personnel. We maintain the inherent right to self-defense and will not hesitate to take appropriate action."

The strike comes after four rockets were launched last week near Ain al-Asad airbase, which houses U.S. troops.

There were no reported injuries, and none of the rockets landed inside the base in the July 25 attack, a U.S. defense official told Fox News.

Iran-backed factions in Iraq have targeted U.S. troops at bases in the country dozens of times since the start of the Israel-Gaza War in October with a slowdown since February.

Algeria recalls ambassador to France over Paris's stance on Western Sahara
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Algerian authorities have decided to immediately recall their ambassador to France due to the fact that Paris recognized the Moroccan autonomy plan as the only basis for resolving the conflict in Western Sahara, the Ennahar Online news portal reports.

"The French government has finally expressed its frank and categorical support for the colonial state of affairs imposed on Western Sahara. This step, which no other French government has previously considered necessary, was taken by the current government with great ease and nonchalance," the Algerian Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron sent a message to Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his ascension to the throne. In it, Macron noted that "the present and future of Western Sahara are within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty." In his opinion, for Paris, the autonomy of the Saharawi regions under Moroccan sovereignty is the basis for resolving this issue.

Representatives of Algeria noted that the French authorities violate international law and the right of peoples to self-determination. As France Info specifies, in Morocco, they supported "an important and significant event in support of Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara."

It is reported that in this regard, the decision to recall the Algerian ambassador to France comes into force immediately. Now the diplomatic mission of the African country will be carried out by a temporary charge d'affaires.

France reverses course to back Moroccan autonomy plan for disputed Western Sahara

In a marked departure from its historical position, France moved on Tuesday to recognise Morocco's sovereignty over the Western Sahara, dealing a blow to the the Algeria-backed Polisario Front, which claims it is an independent state.

Illegal immigrant who shot Texas cop was slated for 'expedited removal' in 2023, but judge let him stay: report
[PM] Name the F'king Judge!
It has been revealed that the illegal immigrant who allegedly shot a police officer in San Antonio, Texas over the weekend had nearly been deported, but was spared and allowed to remain in the United States by a judge after claiming he would face persecution if he was forced to return home to Venezuela. Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez, 25, first entered the country in November 2023.

On Sunday, the Venezuelan national died after being involved in a shootout with police during a domestic violence call. The officer in question was shot multiple times but survived, and is recovering from her injuries.

A source within the Department of Homeland Security told the New York Post that Chacon-Gutierrez was among a group of nearly 600 people who illegally crossed the border into the US last fall. Upon entering, he was processed by Customs and Border Protection agents for "expedited removal," but pleaded with officials to let him stay. An asylum officer rejected his claim of persecution, at which point he brought the matter before an immigration court. The judge lifted his removal order, and he was allowed to remain in the country, with another court appearance scheduled for 2026.

Less than a year later, he was involved in the incident in question. Around 3 am Sunday, police responded to reports from Chacon-Gutierrez's girlfriend that he had assaulted her. According to the Daily Mail, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said that when they arrived on scene, the Venezuelan national was "laying in bed with a rifle by his side." As officers entered the apartment, "he started shooting."

The officers responded with shots of their own, before fleeing the apartment. A short time later, SWAT officers entered and "saw the suspect was deceased," though it was not clear whether Chacon-Gutierrez had been struck by an officer's bullet or killed himself. Meanwhile, the officer was taken to hospital and underwent surgery hours later.

How about the Texas Judges name, that initially blocked Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez's deportation?

It would be handy come re-election time.
