Another ‘austere religious scholar' makes headlines as he raises money for land along the US border a Scottish isle somewhere else for a Sharia domain, complete with jihad training camps
[AmericanThinker] While journalists at The Washington Post might call Sheikh Yasser al-Habib an “austere religious scholar” (the descriptor so affectionately used to eulogize Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi after he detonated himself and his own children a tunnel to evade capture by U.S. forces), others night label the Muslim cleric a terrorist, or even just a devout Islamist, while a report at the Daily Mail describes al-Habib
… Sheikh Yasser al-Habib, 45, is the soft-spoken yet fiery heretical Shiite preacher who keeps collecting lotsa money from his followers for a variety of projects, including a separate island homeland for his followers to establish a base for living and training, where they can show those other so-called Moslems how to do it right. As part of their outreach they have Al-Muhassin mosque and a £2 million compound – also known as the Minor Land of Fadak — in Fulmer, Buckinghamshire, the Fadak satellite TV station, a scattering of military training camps, and a former charity known as the Mahdi Servants Union (formerly the Khoddam Al-Mahdi Organisation). Sometimes even busy hands are the Devil’s playground…
as a “vile Muslim extremist”; after the massacres in the kibbutzim on October 7th, al-Habib reportedly said he and his followers were “buoyed” by the slaughter, and rhetorically asked, “Who among us does not enjoy retaliation of the Zionist enemy?”
A traditional Moslem outlook in certain circles, but then the sheikh was traditionally educated, back before he developed his own innovative ideas…
Anyway, al-Habib has a substantial following, complete with his own “army” of jihadis, and he’s apparently eyeing small islands across the West—some even along the U.S. border—for purchase, in order to establish Sharia law domains, and he’s just about succeeded in buying a small uninhabited Scottish island called Torsa. As you can expect, the Western governments are radio silent on al-Habib’s ambitions.

Israeli strike on Beirut shatters diplomatic understandings, sources say
The poor, sensitive darlings.
[Reuters] Lebanon's Hezbollah did not clear its sensitive sites or evacuate top officials in Beirut's suburbs before this week's attack that killed a top commander because it thought U.S.-led diplomacy would keep Israel from striking the area, security sources close to the group and diplomats said.
Fools trusted Biden/Harris/Blinken when their lips were moving.
Hezbollah's impression was that Israel would not hit the southern suburbs, or Dahiyeh, a heartland of support for the Shi'ite Muslim group, as it believed Israeli forces would adhere to unofficial red lines both sides have generally observed in the conflict that has escalated during the Gaza War, they said.

This assessment was relayed to Reuters by eight diplomats with knowledge of recent mediation efforts led by Washington and including France and the United Nations, as well as three security sources close to Hezbollah. They all spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the topic.

That understanding was shattered on Tuesday when an Israeli strike on Beirut's Dahiyeh killed Hezbollah's top military commander, an Iranian military adviser and five civilians. Lebanese officials and Hezbollah now question whether diplomatic assurances had been relayed to the group accurately.

"We were not expecting them to hit Beirut and they hit Beirut," Lebanon's foreign minister Abdallah Bou Habib told Reuters.
"We counted on our human shields!"
Coupled with the killing in Tehran hours later of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Palestinian armed group Hamas, it has risked sending the entire region into a violent tailspin.

Tensions began spiralling after a deadly strike on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on July 27 which Israel blamed on Hezbollah, vowing retaliation. The group denied any involvement.

Diplomats rushed to contain the fallout by urging Israel not to strike Dahiyeh as part of its response, with U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein specifically passing on those messages, several diplomats and a Lebanese official with direct knowledge of mediation efforts told Reuters.

A Hezbollah official said mediators had informed them of such efforts. The Lebanese official and three diplomats involved in the messaging said Israel had not made any commitments.

'DIPLOMACY HAS FAILED'
Indeed it has.
Still, Hezbollah's posture signalled its comfort: in the days leading up to the strike, top officials from the group were seen moving around Dahiyeh.

Hezbollah had cleared out some of its key sites in south and east Lebanon in anticipation of possible strikes, but did not take similar measures in Beirut, two security sources told Reuters. Hezbollah figures living near the targeted building were rushed out in a panic after it was hit, the sources said.

A regional diplomat said that meant Israel had no major Hezbollah targets to hit in south or east Lebanon. Two European diplomats said Hezbollah had not taken protective measures in Beirut and "were not cautious".

Several of the diplomats, as well as a Western envoy, said they had understood Dahiyeh would be spared. "There was a clear message sent" that Israel would spare big cities including Beirut, a diplomat said.

Instead, they said, Israel shunned efforts to constrain its response. "Israelis do not listen to a word that we tell them. They are following their plan and don't listen to us," one of the European diplomats said.

The Western envoy and an Iranian official said Israel had "crossed red lines" by striking Dahiyeh. "Diplomacy has failed," the envoy told Reuters, saying the ability of countries, even the United States, to influence Israel was limited.

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in a speech on Thursday marking the funeral of the slain commander Fuad Shukr, said Israel "does not know to what extent it has crossed the red lines" and that unnamed countries had asked the group not to respond to the strike - a request he rejected.

MISCALCULATION
Already, international efforts to rein in Israel's military blitz against the Gaza Strip - a response to Hamas' cross-border attack into Israel on Oct. 7 - have had limited success.

The United States has urged Israel to unblock aid deliveries into Gaza, avoid civilian casualties and refrain from launching a large-scale military offensive in Rafah, but its diplomatic efforts have yielded few results.

"The Israelis feel they are beset from all angles, politically, militarily, and it is a bit of a risky situation," a Western diplomat told Reuters.

As a result, Israel had shifted the war's rules of engagement, carrying out more audacious strikes against its Iranian, Lebanese and Palestinian foes, diplomats and analysts in the region said.

Hezbollah had "misread" Israel's mindset and thought it had done enough to deter Israel from bold strikes in Lebanon, several diplomats working on the issue and the Lebanese official said.

"Hamas, Israel, Hezbollah and Iran have all miscalculated since Oct. 7 and mis-assessed each other," the Western envoy said.

Government Corruption
It Was A Conspiracy Of Sloped Roofs And Collapsible Stocks
[TruthAboutGuns] If you thought former U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle’s “roof was too steep for snipers” excuse was a lame one—and it was—you’ll love Biden administration FBI Director Chris Wray’s excuse for how the would-be assassin got up on the roof “unnoticed” prior to shooting former President Donald Trump in the ear.

It seems the reason was that the AR-15 the would-be assassin used had a dreaded collapsible stock, making it easier to get on the roof with a rifle unnoticed.

“I can tell you, which may be relevant to your questions, that, um, and I don’t think this has been reported yet, that the [Trump assassin’s] weapon had a collapsible stock which could explain, uh, why it might have been less easy for people to observe,” Wray said. “Because one of the things that we’re finding is the first people to observe him with the weapon was when he was already on the roof and we haven’t yet found anyone with any first-hand observation of him with the weapon walking around beforehand. So that doesn’t mean he wasn’t, obviously, but the collapsible stock is potentially a very significant feature that might be relevant to that.”

Hmmm, so a man climbing up on a roof 150 yards from the stage where the former president was set to address the rally crowd wasn’t suspicious since all the people who had reported seeing the guy hadn’t actually seen him with a rifle until he was already on the roof? Right. And never mind that one law enforcement official prior to the suspect being spotted on the roof had already reported seeing him ranging the distance to the stage with a rangefinder. That wasn’t suspicious enough?

Nearly anyone with a brain knows that Wray scapegoating the collapsible stock is utter nonsense. When not extended, collapsible stocks on ARs only make the rifles about two inches shorter than when the stocks are extended.

A typical DPMS AR-15 with 16-inch barrel, like what the shooter used, is about 32 inches long. With the stock collapsed, the gun would likely have been 29 to 30 inches in length—not exactly what you’d call easily “concealable” when walking through a crowd and scaling a rooftop.

In truth, Wray was simply playing partisan politics with the shooting, trying to make it look like the Biden/Harris-run Secret Service hadn’t really messed up in letting the shooter get off several shots at Trump. That’s about par for the course for Wray.

In fact, just last week Wray was actually questioning whether Trump was, indeed, hit by a bullet.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
WSJ's Evan Gershkovich & Ex-Marine Paul Whelan Freed By Russia In Major Prisoner Swap With US
[ZH] From Airandee's comment
In a massive overnight night development, Russia has released Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and former US Marine Paul Whelan in a prisoner swap, Bloomberg and others confirm.

Some sources are saying that as many as 20 and 30 political prisoners and journalists might be part of a multi-country exchange reportedly in progress, but what's certain is that Gershkovich and Whelan are currently on their way to freedom.

"The men, jailed in Russia on espionage charges they and the US deny, are en route to destinations outside of Russia," reports Bloomberg. "The US and its allies will return prisoners to Russia that they hold under the deal, the people said, asking for anonymity to discuss matters that aren’t yet public."

And The Moscow Times speculated overnight as rumors swirled of an impending major deal with Moscow, "Russia may be preparing to free between 20 and 30 political prisoners and journalists in an imminent exchange with the United States and Germany, a source familiar with the planning said, in what, if confirmed, would be the largest swap since the end of the Cold War." However, these latter details have yet to be confirmed. It is also as yet unclear who on the Russian side is being freed.

Only very recently, on July 19, a Yekaterinburg handed down a very significant 16-year prison sentence in Gershkovich's espionage case, after he had been behind bars since is March 2023 arrest.

Russian authorities claim he was spying for the CIA while investigating a major Russian defense company in Yekaterinburg, a city which lies east of the Ural Mountains.

It is widely believed that Russia was using the case as a bargaining chip all along, in order to free high level Russian detainees in the West, just like the prisoner swap involving Brittney Griner and Viktor Bout played out.

As for Marine veteran Paul Whelan, who was issued a 16-year sentence in 2020 on charges of espionage - which the US government condemned as false and unfair - his family had long complained that his case didn't get the attention from Washington that it deserved. But his fate appears to have suddenly and drastically changed for the better.

Could it be that Tucker Carlson's big interview with President Vladimir Putin had a part to play, or got the ball rolling in the prisoner deal?
A good question.

-Land of the Free
What Happens When You Choose the Red Pill
[X] Rant of the month.

… finally broke free from it.

My journey has been a gradual political 180 from where I stood in every previous election. It has been an eye-opening process of disenchantment, zero-basing lifelong beliefs, and rebuilding from there.

In 2017, a good friend enlisted me to pitch the DNC to raise $100M from Silicon Valley founders and executives. The aim was to use these funds and know-how to build a CRM and tech platform to prevent a repeat of Hillary Clinton’s inadequate, outdated 2016 campaign. We met with DNC leadership, who told us we could raise that money, but it would have to go to the general fund; a single-digit percentage would then be allocated to tech. In the wake of one of their most shocking failures, they didn’t want the help.

The next series of realizations began in 2019 while I was at Meta, right after we announced the Libra white paper. I testified before the Senate and the House and subsequently spent significant time in DC, engaging with lawmakers, cabinet members, regulators, and two White House administrations. At the time, I still believed the mainstream idea that Democrats were all about serving the People. However, I was shocked to learn that, for the most part, Republicans cared more deeply about their constituents, while Democrats, in my experience, cared more about government power and control. This is my observation on balance, with many stories to back it up. I also found that more Republicans wanted to understand our project’s goals and took the time to learn about the risks of censoring payments and controlling the network. I found myself remarkably aligned with them.

Then COVID came, revealing more. While I don’t subscribe to the most malicious vaccine conspiracy theories, I do take offense at the censorship machine put in place to hide the origin of the virus from the NIH-funded Wuhan lab and all dissenting voices on vaccinations and lockdowns. At that time, I fully appreciated why Republicans value freedom of speech and preventing censorship.

This trend of spinning and manufacturing a parallel reality to serve the Dem agenda, solidified by complicit mainstream media, hit home with the Hunter Biden laptop story, the coordinated vilification of President Trump and his followers, and President Biden’s cognitive decline — depriving voters of a voice in a proper primary. These examples displayed the hubris of the current Dem leadership. You must think the American people are fools to believe the spin on these issues. I despise this elite vs. general population ideology viscerally.

This version of the Democratic Party is sidelining moderates and centrists and has adopted an increasingly leftist ideology. This drift to the left has dictated policies from which I’ve found myself estranged.

On the domestic front, there has been a total departure from the core American value system of meritocracy, an extreme and weaponized DEI agenda, an open door to massive illegal immigration, and a once-fringe narrative, now mainstream within the party, of vilifying success. This shift is also causing us to fall behind due to an anti-innovation regulatory climate, notably on crypto and soon AI — two non-linear technological breakthroughs that will likely determine tomorrow’s leading countries.

On foreign policy, the administration is exacerbating tensions with Russia through an aggressive NATO expansion narrative focused on Ukraine and prolonging an unwinnable war. This is costing American taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars, the world hundreds of thousands of lives, depleting the U.S. military arsenal and risking World War III. On Iran, this administration is continuing a misguided Obama-era plan to bring Iran closer to the West by unfreezing Trump-era sanctions, thus giving the Mollahs’ regime the ability to fund terrorism and pursue its anti-America, anti-Israel, and anti-Jewish agenda. The withdrawal from Afghanistan was also handled disastrously. We’re leaving a door open for China to invade Taiwan by coming across as weak. Most importantly to me, concerning Israel, the administration is enabling Iran to fund Hamas and Hezbollah, restraining Israel in its fight against its enemies, thus prolonging another conflict, which is costing more lives on both sides and allowing unprecedented levels of antisemitism to rise at home.

I believe we need a President who is unequivocally pro: America, the Constitution, business, Bitcoin/crypto, innovation, Israel, small government, legal immigration, free speech, meritocracy, and common sense — and anti: regulatory proliferation, illegal immigration, unjust wars, Iran’s current regime, and domestic groups that oppose American values. These issues are central to President Trump’s platform.

Naturally, I disagree with President Trump and the GOP on some issues, particularly women’s reproductive rights. While I’ve come to learn that extreme views exist in both parties, I firmly believe that women should have the unalienable right to make their own decisions on this polarizing topic. President Trump confirmed he was against a national abortion ban and supported the Supreme Court’s decision on maintaining access to mifepristone, which was reassuring and a sign that the party was moving closer to the center.

It’s impossible to close this post without mentioning President Trump’s recent assassination attempt. The courage and resolve he displayed seconds after being hit by a bullet was awe-inspiring for his followers and detractors alike. This was a man, however imperfect, who, at that moment, incarnated the American spirit in the most vivid way, starting to bring a split nation together.

Some claim that reelecting President Trump will bring our democracy to its knees. However, the alternative — having unelected individuals with this much power and no accountability run our government coupled with four more years of bad policies at home and abroad — might present a more significant threat. Neither will likely change in a Harris administration and could potentially worsen.

In this pivotal moment, confronted with the choices we have, I am endorsing and supporting a return to a Republican administration in 2025.

South Carolina Supreme Court says death penalty by firing squad or electrocution is legal
[JustTheNews] Executions are expected to begin again soon, now that the state Supreme Court ruling has come in. There are currently 32 inmates on death row, and no execution has been carried out in South Carolina since 2011.

The South Carolina Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that the death penalty by firing squad or electrocution is not considered cruel and unusual punishment if the death row inmate requests it.

The state passed a law that allowed the methods in 2021, after there was a shortage in South Carolina of lethal injection drugs, along with lethal injection. It is now one of five states that allow execution by firing squad, and one of eight to allow electrocution, The Hill reported.

The 2021 law was temporarily halted after death row inmates sued the state over the change, but death by electrocution became the default form of execution when the state could not find a reliable source for the lethal injection drugs.

"[The 2021 law was a] sincere effort to make the death penalty less inhumane while enabling the state to carry out its laws," Justice John Few wrote in the majority decision. “The inescapable reality that an execution by any method may not go as planned — that it will be ‘botched’ — does not render the method ‘cruel’ under the constitution."

Prior warning? Secret Service to face bombshell revelation from top Homeland watchdog
[JustTheNews] Sources say inspector general about to release heavily redacted report showing it warned Secret Service about security deficiencies back in April.

After a gunman shot up the White House a decade ago, exposing vulnerabilities at one of America’s iconic landmarks, lawmakers in Congress got an unexpected second dose of bad news.

“The Secret Service did not identify best practices and lessons learned from the 2011 White House shooting incident,” the Homeland Security Department inspector general wrote in a stinging 2016 report that warned that an agency with a zero failure mission failed to learn from one of its high-profile setbacks.

Now eight years later, with the Secret Service once again reeling from a spectacular failure, the same watchdog office is about to drop a fresh bombshell certain to impact the investigation into the near assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Congress was briefed this week that months before the assassination attempt on Trump, Secret Service managers were warned by the Homeland inspector general about serious deficiencies, including communication woes with local police partners and inadequate training for agents who conducted security sweeps at events for protectees, sources told Just the News on Wednesday night.

The concerns flagged by Homeland Security Department Inspector General Joseph V. Cuffari were related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot but involve issues that have also been raised in the Secret Service's failures to stop a gunman from wounding Trump at a Butler, Pa., rally on July 13, the congressional aides said.

Some of the concerns could be made public as early as Thursday when Cuffari’s staff is expected to release to Congress a heavily redacted report that was completed in April and titled “USSS Preparation for and Response to the Events of January 6, 2021,” the aides said, speaking only on condition of anonymity because they weren’t permitted to talk to news media.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., the chairman of the House Administration subcommittee on oversight, has been pressing Cuffari to release the report and to resist extensive redactions being sought by the Secret Service and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

According to the congressional sources, the report in April made several specific recommendations to then-Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle as a result of an internal investigation that found Secret Service agents failed to identify an active pipe bomb at the Democratic National Committee headquarters on the morning of Jan. 6, 2021, and brought then-Vice President-elect Kamala Harris within yards of the explosive device.

Congressional aides also told Just the News one of the findings was that the Secret Service should implement additional training related to security sweeps, such as the one that failed to detect the pipe bomb at the DNC back in 2021.

That recommendation created a heated response from Secret Service management, which insisted no additional training was needed because the agency had made some of its own changes in an April 2022 policy memo, the aides said.

Another recommendation related to communications with local law enforcement, which increasingly are called upon to assist Secret Service at major events like the Trump rally in Butler, Pa., the aides said.

During the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, Secret Service needed to collaborate with other agencies including U.S. Capitol Police and Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police.

If both of those findings are formally released to Congress later this week, they will have immediate implications for simultaneous investigations ongoing in the House and Senate related to the July 13 assassination attempt.

Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, has made public extensive information from local police authorities who worked with the Secret Service, including that the Secret Service failed to attend a briefing the morning of the Trump rally with local law enforcement, who then developed concerns about the eventual shooter more than 100 minutes before bullets began flying,

In addition, the Secret Service acknowledged it failed to cover the rooftop where the shooter fired from inside the event’s defined security perimeter even though it made for an ideal shooter’s nest.

One of the lawmakers participating in the Senate probe, Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kanas, told Just the News on Wednesday the failures of the Secret Service are so extensive that an outside emergency intervention team of experts needs to be imposed on the agency to affect immediate change.

“I feel like our Secret Service is using technology and protocols from last century, as opposed to we really need: people on the ground, especially out there hunting for the bad guy, not just protecting the president,” he said. “I want people that are experts, going out there and profiling bad guys, and I'm going to be right in his face and figured out who this person is. So I think it's a cultural upside down problem, and they have to start over."

A lack – or failure – of communication between the Secret Service and its local law enforcement partners was one of the key security pillars that appears to have failed at Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania, rally.

According to a detailed timeline assembled by Grassley after an investigation into the assassination attempt, local law enforcement spotted the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, nearly 100 minutes before he fired on Donald Trump and other rally attendees.

Nearly an hour and a half before Trump took the stage, texts show that local law enforcement noticed Crooks “snuck in” and “parked by our cars.” This identification came more than a hour before a local officer photographed Crooks and sent the pictures in a group message with other officers on the sniper teams. The other snipers recommended that the officer notify the Secret Service about the suspicious individual, Just the News reported.

The texts provided by Grassley indicate the local law enforcement team notified “command” about the suspicious individual, yet there is no indication that the Secret Service took any immediate actions regarding suspect.

Other key security failures highlight communications before and during the shooting. In some cases, there were warning signs even before the rally.

Shortly after the attempted assassination, a video emerged from the event that appears to show that rally attendees who were watching the speech from outside the fence warned the police that there was a suspicious individual climbing on the roof of the building from where Crooks ultimately opened fire. The video shows one man shouting, “Officer! Officer!” and a woman saying, “He’s on the roof!”

This video, which was disseminated widely on social media after the assassination attempt, was one of the first pieces of evidence that showed law enforcement became aware of Crooks prior to the shooting.

Also, several attendees reported to local police officers that Crooks was suspicious while he was pacing near the metal detectors, according to the Associated Press. Crooks reportedly attempted to bring a rangefinder commonly used by shooting enthusiasts through the metal detectors, raising the suspicion of law enforcement.

In addition to a failure of effective communication between local law enforcement and the Secret Service, there were more warning signs and failures before the event that may have prevented it.

According to the Washington Post, the local police assisting the Secret Service with security warned the agency that they did not have enough manpower or resources to station a patrol car outside the key building used in Crook’s assassination attempt. The Butler County District Attorney said the agency “was informed that the local police department did not have manpower to assist with securing that building.”

Additionally, the Secret Service was reportedly absent from the 9 a.m. briefing hosted by the Butler County Emergency Services Unit.

Ultimately one of the most startling security lapses is that the former president remained on the rally stage delivering his speech and was not evacuated by the Secret Service even though it was monitoring an active threat.

The videos of the event show no attempts by any of the officers to get Trump out of harm’s way on the stage before Crooks fired on him. Even after the would-be assassin shot multiple rounds at Trump and the crowd, the Secret Service seemed confused in its response.

USSS agents could be heard asking “What are we doing?” and “Where are we going from here?” on the microphone as they attempted to evacuate Trump, according to The Hill. For his part, Trump insisted that the agents let him find his shoes, and paused briefly to raise his fist and shout "fight!" to the crowd

White House flip-flop on transgender surgery for kids prompts GOP probe, NIH hid director's activism
After a lawsuit revealed the federal government's highest-ranking transgender official had successfully pressured the World Professional Association on Transgender Health to remove age limits for so-called gender-affirming care from its forthcoming standards in 2022, the Biden administration for the first time claimed it opposed surgery for gender-confused minors.

Activist outrage ensured the clarity didn't last long, prompting the Congressional Anti-Woke Caucus on Tuesday to demand the Department of Health and Human Services specify exactly what procedures it considers "safe and effective" for children who identify as the opposite sex or otherwise want to change their bodies to align with their gender identity.

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kámala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, then a senatrix from California former 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, and Joe Biden's wing nut, Joe's intended successor'...

She bragged in a National Center for Transgender Equality interview in 2019 that she "made sure" as Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,'s attorney general that the state's prison system started granting surgeries for transgender inmates. Democratic Gov. Gavin can't be Bee'd Newsom
...mayor of San Franciscoas it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of Californiaas it transforms itself into Cinderland...
followed by signing a law now being challenged by female inmates that grants prison placement by self-declared gender identity.

IDF confirms it killed Mohammed Deif in Khan Yunis attack
[JPost] Removing all doubt
The IDF on Thursday confirmed 100% that its July 13 airstrike targeting Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif succeeded in killing him.

The military said that only in recent hours it had received additional intelligence to confirm Deif's death to a complete certainty, taking into account that the defense establishment had been confident for the last two weeks that its air strike had killed him.

Pressed, the IDF would not only not reveal what the new confirmatory information was, but would also not share what category of information it was.

In such cases in the past, the information is often a very sensitive human spy or a very sensitive electronic spying element which the defense establishment feels would be lost if even a hint of who or what it was comes out.

IDF sources indicated that some members of Hamas and Hezbollah have known for some time that Deif was dead, but that others may not have known because portions of Hamas are currently cut off from the broader Hamas operational network.

THE IDF'S JULY ANNOUNCEMENT
Already on July 21, the military had revealed that Deif was to a 100% certainty in the room with Hamas Khan Yunis Brigade Commander Rafah Salame, when the bombs which were dropped and killed Salame struck.

The fact that Salame was in fact killed and the size of the bombs had already made it a practical certainty that Deif was also killed, though IDF sources until Thursday had cautioned that in one of the prior failed attempted assassinations of Deif, he was in the room which was hit, but happened to be in a tiny part of the room which was just shielded enough by the surrounding objects and setting to survive.

As part of the assassination, the air force had kept a series of five different pairs of aircraft and drones rotating through the role of hovering and passing by the residence where Deif was expected to visit Salame, such that the moment the war cabinet approved an operation, the air force would be able to open fire in practically no time at all.

This is different from the standard situation where aircraft only take off to strike a target after approval is given which creates a certain amount of gap time when a target might escape.

Air force units were in the sky for more than a day and a half, waiting for the word to attack, though Israeli intelligence had been following Salame at the location for weeks.

Cops foil ISIS terror plot in Canada and arrest father and son who planned 'mass casualty attack' and filmed themselves holding weapons in front of the jihadist flag
Canadian cops raided a hotel room this week to arrest a father and son who were in just hours away from carrying out a mass casualty event.

The duo had gone so far as to record a video showing them brandishing their weapons in front of an ISIS flag while explaining their intended actions.

The family members were named as Canadian citizens Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi, 62, Mostafa Eldidi, 26, were allegedly armed with an axe and a machete in the video. They were arrested on July 25.

Police say that their target was an unspecified location in Toronto. The hotel where they were taken into custody is located just 30 minutes drive from the downtown area.

They are each facing six ISIS-related terrorism offenses, including possessing weapons for the benefit of the Sunni-terror organization.

Key Biden agency slapped with another subpoena related to voter registration push in crucial swing state
[FoxNews] The Republican-led House Small Business Committee has issued a subpoena for President Biden’s Small Business Administration (SBA) after the committee says the agency failed to turn over information related to efforts to funnel resources to help register key swing state voters.

"The House Committee on Small Business (Committee) is investigating the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) implementation of Executive Order (EO) 14019 and its related Memorandum of Understanding and Memorandum of Agreement (collectively, the MOU) with the Michigan Department of State (MDOS), which designated the SBA as a Voter Registration Agency in the State of Michigan under the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA)," the Small Business Committee wrote to the SBA on Tuesday.

"The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate legislative solutions to the SBA’s use of federal funds to conduct voter registration activities. Unfortunately, the SBA has produced only a small portion of the documents and communications that the Committee has requested and has done so slowly and after multiple attempts by the Committee to obtain any relevant information," the letter continued.

Trump assassination attempt: FBI contracts Israeli firm to help with gunman's encryption, source says
[FoxNews] Cellebrite helps law enforcement around the world break into criminals' smartphones

The FBI has contracted the Israeli tech firm Cellebrite to help in its investigation into Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old Pennsylvania man who tried to kill former President Trump at a rally on July 13 and mortally wounded a supporter in the crowd instead, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.

American law enforcement agencies have tapped the company for years for its ability to break into smartphones from a range of Big Tech firms and using different mobile operating systems.
Who you gonna call when the wrath of a nation isn't sufficient?
However, while a Cellebrite software patch helped investigators get into Crooks' phone within 24 hours of the shooting, the company is not privy to any of the investigation's findings, according to the source.

The FBI on Wednesday told Fox News Digital it does not comment on the tools or techniques it uses and could not confirm or deny Cellebrite's involvement in the Crooks probe.
Prob didn't know.
The wider investigation involves more than just accessing that data on Crooks' phone. Providers of encrypted messaging services have been served legal process, and the bureau is
patiently
awaiting responses from them.
CEO imprisonment is an incentive.
While the FBI obtained a shocking search history and other evidence from the gunman's phone after he struck Trump in the ear and critically injured two other spectators
and the dead guy
, they ran into trouble with encrypted apps, authorities told lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

"I think we've experienced a range of returns because some of the applications that he was using online were encrypted in nature," FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate said during the hearing Tuesday under questioning from South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Once investigators get a search warrant or other legal authorization, Cellebrite provides tools that can help access encrypted apps and hidden data on a suspect's smartphone, the firm's chief marketer, David Gee, told Fox News.

Most present-day smartphone apps use some kind of encryption, he added, and it is not uncommon for them to store data outside the U.S.

"Whether that application was created in the U.S., in Europe, in Asia, the chances are that they have some encryption built into them to ensure that the data is transferred backwards and forwards, and stored on the device, generally encrypted," he said.

However, reports that Crooks used encrypted apps and had data stored overseas have raised questions about who he was talking to — and about what. Especially after federal authorities acknowledged they were aware of an Iranian threat on Trump's life before the failed assassination attempt.

While Abbate said investigators have found no information that Crooks had any co-conspirators, "foreign or domestic," he added that the encrypted information remains a wild card and said investigators are keeping an open mind until they get all the results back.
It's good to have options
The FBI has gained access to some of Crooks' emails, he said, but some of his encrypted communications remained unavailable. Authorities are also awaiting responses to legal requests from some of the companies behind the apps.

Investigators are also continuing to examine information that they have received, including activity from social media accounts that may have been used by the gunman and espoused what Abbate called "differing points of view."

On Friday, Trump revealed he would be returning to Butler for another rally to honor the bystander who was killed by a stray bullet fired by Crooks.

Crooks fatally struck 50-year-old Corey Comperatore and critically wounded David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74.

Terror Networks
Iran and Hezbollah plan to assault the US mainland
[IsraelNationalNews] Iran’s Ayatollahs and their Hezbollah proxy consider Latin America as the soft underbelly of "The Great American Satan" and have made political, technological and military alliances in Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela..

*The Washington DC-based Wilson Center think tank contends that "the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas against Israel, which killed 1,200 people [equal to 41,000 Americans], including 32 U.S. citizens, ...could inspire [Islamic] terrorist attacks in the United States and other regions, including Latin America....

*Iran’s Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani stated that "Latin American countries are of special significance in Iran’s foreign and defense policy, based on the importance of the very sensitive South American region."

*According to Arturo McFields, a Nicaragua diplomat in-exile (The Hill, May 2, 2024), the Ayatollahs’ threat to the US homeland cannot be underestimated. In fact, Iran has redoubled its political, technological and military alliance with Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

*A University of Texas at El Paso study concludes that "[the Hezbollah-Mexican drug cartels nexus] is a time bomb waiting to explode in our homeland.... The threat of an attack by Hezbollah against the US has always been present. It has become much more realistic due to the Hezbollah spread of activity and influence in Latin America [including underground tunnel construction along the US-Mexico border].... Hezbollah has many pieces in place to conduct an act of terror on U.S. interests.... Venezuela and Chile are hosting Hezbollah, and several more Latin American countries have also been supportive. The proximity of Mexico makes it more deadly. [The Hezbollah-Mexican drug cartels collaboration includes training in the areas of car-bombs, suicide bombing and Improvised Explosive Devices]...."

*Iran’s Ayatollahs and their Hezbollah proxy have considered Latin America as the soft underbelly of "The Great American Satan." They have established themselves in Latin America since the early 1980s, as a stepping stone toward the US mainland, leveraging large and financially successful Shiite Lebanese migrant communities. They have set up rogue initiatives — especially in the lawless tri border areas of Argentina-Paraguay-Brazil and Chile-Peru-Bolivia — to bankroll global terrorism, money laundering (powered by Crypto Currency), counterfeiting, weapon proliferation/trafficking, drug and human trafficking.

*The State Department has adhered to its diplomatic option toward the Ayatollahs, notwithstanding the Ayatollahs’ attempts — as testified by FBI Director, Chris Wray - to replicate the October 7, 2023 Hamas terrorism on US soil. Furthermore, the diplomatic option toward the Ayatollahs’ regime is still in effect, irrespective of the Ayatollahs’ 45-year-old track record as a leading epicenter of global anti US initiatives; despite the Ayatollahs’ anti-US constitution, school curriculum and mosque incitement, which aim to bring the "oppressive US" to submission. This is, also, regardless of the Ayatollahs’ oppression of women and all religious and ethnic minorities; and in spite of the Ayatollahs’ expanded collaboration with the drug cartels of Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador and Brazil, and all anti-US governments, especially Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba.

*The State Department’s latest annual report on global terrorism indicates that "Iran continued to be the leading state sponsor of terrorism, facilitating a wide range of terrorist and other illicit activities around the world."

*The Hill (ibid.) adds that in July 2023, Bolivia - the third largest producer of cocaine in the world, in addition to its lithium reserves, which are critical to nuclear fission and fusion technologies - signed a military cooperation accord with Iran. Bolivia has also requested drones from Iran. Argentina’s security minister, Patricia Bullrich, disclosed that more than 700 members of Iran’s Quds Force are stationed in Bolivia. Iran’s Quds Force is a branch of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, specializing in external unconventional warfare and military intelligence.

*Moreover, in 2023, Venezuela and Iran announced a larger cooperation accord (mostly petrochemicals), increasing trade from $3 billion annually to $20 billion per year in the coming years. Iran supplied Venezuela fast attack boats and anti-ship missiles. Cuba and Iran signed six cooperation agreements, including $200-$500 million annual Iranian aid. Also, Brazil maintains robust commercial ties with Iran, which has a strong presence in the Caribbean, South and Central America. This poses a clear and present danger to the US national and homeland security.

*The intensifying Ayatollahs threat to all US’ Arab allies is gleaned through a recent report by Homeland Security Today, which underscores the intense subversive and terroristic offensive by Iran and its Syrian and Iraqi proxies on Jordan’s pro-US Hashemite regime. The Virginia-based media outlet reports that Jordan has launched a military offensive against Iran-supported terrorists and drug traffickers across its border with Syria.

According to HST, Iran’s illicit (drug production and trafficking) economy is estimated to be 35%-44% of GDP with a value of $160BN-$200BN. "Iranian opiates and methamphetamines have been seized as far away as the United States, Australia and South America, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its Quds Force central to Iran’s global trafficking network."

*The State Department assumes that "money talks," and therefore, the hundreds of billions of dollars, which have been showered upon the Ayatollahs since their rise to power in February 1979 were supposed to induce the Ayatollahs to adopt peaceful-coexistence with their Sunni Arab neighbors, become good-faith negotiators and to abandon their fanatic, religious ideology. However, since the Ayatollahs’ rise to power — which was assisted by the US State Department - the Ayatollahs have demonstrated that their commitment to their ideology, which stipulates bringing "The Great American Satan" to submission, transcends financial and diplomatic considerations, and eclipses their determination to bring down the "infidel" Jewish State and the pro-US "apostate" Sunni Arab regimes.

*The dramatic transformation of Iran’s Ayatollahs into a clear and present danger to the US homeland security has been largely a derivative of the State Department’s policy toward Iran — top heavy on carrots but very low on sticks, yielding a tailwind to rogue regimes, posing a potential death sentence to all pro-US oil-producing Arab regimes, a dramatic setback to the US and other Western democracies and a bonanza to China, Russia, Iran’s Ayatollahs and the Moslem Brotherhood.

Britain
King Chuck starting to fear Prince Harry's bankruptcy
[GEO.TV] King Chuck
...King of England, Scotland, Ireland -- at least part of it -- Wales, Gibraltar, the Falkland Islands, and places like that. The first King Chuck had his head chopped off, the second one was Good Time Charlie. The third once wanted to be a tampon and thinks we'll all be extinct within the next seven years...
is reportedly starting to grow petrified about what Prince Harry
will be forced into, once his money runs dry.
Prince Andrew no doubt would have happily hired out as a gigolo, were he in need of funds, but Prince Harry has a status-conscious wife, poor man.
Royal news hound Robert Jobson made this revelation public in his upcoming book Catherine: The Princess of Wales.

Hamas senior official says Haniyeh was hit 'directly' by missile
[GEO.TV] The missile that killed Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh struck him "directly", Hamas deputy chief in Gaza Khalil Al-Hayya said on Wednesday, citing witnesses who had been with Haniyeh in Iran.

As a result of the missile strike; windows, doors and walls in his room were destroyed, Al-Hayya told a press conference in Tehran.
Bet that really, really hurt. Briefly, of course.

UN Security Council Blocks Russia's Draft Statement on Haniyeh's Murder

[Regnum] Three countries have blocked the draft statement of the UN Security Council (SC) on the assassination of Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh, proposed by Russia. This was stated at a meeting of the world organization by Iran's permanent representative Amir Saeed Iravani.

"The draft press statement proposed by Russia to condemn Israel's brutal act was blocked by the US, UK and France," he said.

Earlier, Iranian diplomats sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Russia, which chairs the Security Council, demanding that they condemn Israel's attack on Lebanon.

As reported by Regnum news agency, on July 30, Israeli Air Force aircraft fired four missiles at targets in the southern suburbs of Beirut, destroying a residential building. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, three people were killed and 85 were injured.

Hezbollah's second-highest commander, Fuad Mohsen Shokr, was killed in a strike on southern Beirut in a targeted, intelligence-driven operation, the Israeli army said.

On the night of July 31, 61-year-old Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed in a rocket attack on a house in Tehran. Hamas officially confirmed the death of the head of the Hamas politburo. He arrived in Iran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the country's new president, Masoud Pezeshkian.

Hamas spokesman in Lebanon Mahmoud Tah blamed Israel and the US for Haniyeh's killing, saying the attack had been coordinated with Washington.

On July 31, a red flag was raised over the Jamkaran Mosque in Iran in vengeance for Haniyeh's murder. Red flags in Shiite tradition symbolize the desire to avenge unjustly spilled blood.

The Kremlin and the Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack on Haniyeh. According to Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, it was a political assassination that would further escalate tensions.

Home Front: Politix
The Left Can't Meme... So They Made it Illegal
[AlphaNews] Minnesotans across the state could put themselves in legal jeopardy by sharing AI-generated memes of political candidates this election season.

According to state law, any individual who shares a so-called "deepfake" meme or video of a political candidate during election season, without the consent of the candidate, and with intent to "influence the result of an election" could face incarceration and significant fines.
What if they’re just sharing it because it’s funny? Besides, mocking our politicians is an ancient tradition in America, long predating independence. Politicans attempting to outlaw being mocked is a tradition almost as old…
Artificial intelligence (AI) and its place in society has been a constant topic of debate amongst tech leaders and politicians in recent years. In the political world, online content creators and provocateurs routinely create AI-generated videos and memes, sometimes known as "deepfakes," to satirize candidates and create outlandish or goofy videos of people in power.

Just days ago, Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk shared a video which portrayed Vice President Kámala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, then a senatrix from California former 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, and Joe Biden's wing nut, Joe's intended successor'...
, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, mocking herself, her intelligence, her candidacy, and President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity....
. The voice heard in the video, which was not Harris’ but sounded identical, was produced using AI technology.

Outraged at the humorous lampoon of Vice President Harris, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Gov. Gavin can't be Bee'd Newsom
...mayor of San Franciscoas it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of Californiaas it transforms itself into Cinderland...
, a Democrat, said such videos should be illegal. The governor then pledged to sign legislation outlawing videos like the one Musk shared.

Musk replied to the left-wing governor, saying, "I checked with renowned world authority, Professor Suggon Deeznutz, and he said parody is legal in America."
OUCH!
While Newsom issued a pledge to make AI-generated deepfake videos illegal in California, politicians in Minnesota already passed a law which outlaws individuals from sharing AI-generated deepfakes of political candidates in certain situations.

Terror Networks
9/11 mastermind KSM and two other terrorists awaiting trial on Guantanamo Bay strike plea deals
[NYPOST] The alleged criminal mastermind of the Sept. 11 terror attacks and two other Death Eaters being held on Guantánamo Bay will be spared the death penalty
under a deal with prosecutors, it was revealed Wednesday.

"The Convening Authority for Military Commissions has entered into pretrial agreements with Khalid Sheikh Mohammad
...Mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. He was captured in Faisalabad, Pakistain in 2002 and interned at Guantanamo...
, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin ’Attash, and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi, three of the co-accused in the 9/11 case," an Office of Military Commissions (OMC) spokesperson confirmed.

The terror suspects will be spared the death penalty as part of the plea agreement, according to the OMC, which sent a letter to victims’ families Wednesday detailing some of the terms of the negotiations.

"In exchange for removal of the death penalty as a possible punishment, these three Accused have agreed to plead guilty to all of the charged offenses, including the murder of the 2,976 people listed in the charge sheet," the letter obtained by The Post reads in part.

The news came as a gut-punch for families who have been holding out hope for justice for more than two decades.

"I am very disappointed. We waited patiently for a long time. I wanted the death penalty — the government has failed us," Daniel D’Allara, whose twin brother, John D’Allara, was one of 23 NYPD cops killed the day of the attacks, told The Post.

OMC said the specific terms and conditions of the pretrial agreements were not immediately available. The deals are set to be officially announced Thursday and the guilty plea hearings could take place as soon as next week, with sentencings likely to happen next summer, according to the letter and sources.

It was not immediately known where the men will be incarcerated following their pleas.

The defendants, including accused plotter Mohammed, stand accused of providing training, financial support and other assistance to the 19 Death Eaters who hijacked passenger jets and crashed them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, Pa. on Sept. 11, 2001.

The three accused who have accepted a plea deal — along with Ali Abdul Aziz Ali and Ramzi Bin al Shibh — were initially jointly arraigned on June 5, 2008, then again on May 5, 2012, the Department of Defense said in a statement.

The OMC said it first entered into plea deal negotiations with the suspects’ defense counsel in March, 2022.

Victims’ families were outraged by the news that the death penalty was no longer on the table for the suspects, whose alleged actions killed nearly 3,000 in the worst terror attack on US soil in American history.

The 9-11 terrorist group killed 1000's in America and 10's of 1000's more in related deaths worldwide, as they and their supporters were hunted down.

They should have been put on public trial, convicted and their execution televised within a couple of years of their capture.

I understand the need and use of Club GITMO for initial legal and interrogation reasons, but not for 20+ years.

If they had been in a federal prison and general population, after they had been drained of terrorist related info. They would have been deep-fried in the prison kitchen within a week

We must have a mandatory Death Penalty Law and process for certain extremely vicious crimes.

Why should taxpayers pay $39+K a year (see pg 14) to house an 18 to 35-year-old Mass Murderers for 50+ years?

Prosecutor General Links Militant Attacks in Dagestan to Government Miscalculations
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The militant attacks in Dagestan, like the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, occurred due to the authorities' miscalculations, which did not pay enough attention to countering terrorism, said Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov.

As the "Caucasian Knot" reported, on June 23, militants attacked an Orthodox church and a synagogue in Derbent, and in Makhachkala - the Holy Dormition Cathedral and a traffic police post. As a result of the attack, 22 people were killed and 46 were injured. Investigators believe that the group whose members carried out the attacks was created by the son of the head of the Sergokalinsky District, Magomed Omarov.

The terrorist attacks in the Moscow region and Dagestan "have challenged the law enforcement system and the entire Russian society," said Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov at a meeting devoted to summing up the work of the prosecutor's office for the first six months of 2024.

"In many ways, this became possible due to mistakes made by authorized government bodies, which requires us to conduct inspections and respond to counter-terrorism at a fundamentally different level," Krasnov's words are quoted in a publication on the Prosecutor General's Office website.

Recall that the militant attacks in Dagestan could have been prevented if the security forces had guarded religious sites more carefully and paid more attention to preventive work, veterans of the special services interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" indicated. However, the security of religious sites in the republic was strengthened only the day after the militant attacks and deaths.

On June 24, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, announced that Magomed Omarov, whose two sons and nephew participated in the militant attack, had been dismissed from his post as head of the Sergokalinsky District. On June 25, Melikov announced an investigation into the personal files of officials and members of the Dagestan parliament.

The attacks in Derbent and Makhachkala were the first armed incidents in the republic in more than a year. At the same time, a number of incidents related to attacks on religious figures and religious buildings had occurred in Dagestan earlier.

On March 22, armed men broke into the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, opened fire and set fire to the building. According to official data, 145 people were killed in the terrorist attack, and the FSB classified the incident as a terrorist attack. Eleven people were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the terrorist attack.

On March 31, three people were detained in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk during a counter-terrorist operation. The detainees supplied money and weapons to the participants in the attack on Crocus City Hall, and also prepared the terrorist attack themselves, the FSB said. By April 4, the number of those arrested who, according to the security forces, were preparing the terrorist attack in Kaspiysk and supplied weapons to the attackers on Crocus City Hall had reached five.

The terrorist attack in Krasnogorsk was the largest in the Moscow region in 30 years. From 1999 until the events at Crocus City Hall, there had been five terrorist attacks there, each killing more than 40 people. Before the terrorist attack at Crocus, the largest number of fatalities, 130 people, was attributed to the seizure of the Theater Center on Dubrovka.

The end of the era of the 'steel cavalry'. How tanks have changed and do they have a future
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Artemy Sharapov

[REGNUM] For the past hundred years, the basis of any land army's combat power has been tanks - heavy armored vehicles with heavy weapons. They ruled the battlefields of World War II and were subsequently considered the main weapon for World War III.

However, the development of modern science, unmanned systems and hand-held anti-tank weapons has turned the tank from a hunter into a prey. And although armored vehicles still have a serious impact on the course of military operations, military experts around the world are increasingly asking whether armored forces have a future or will they suffer the fate of the cavalry - being forced out of the battlefield by more modern technologies.

The problems of modern tanks became especially clear against the backdrop of a special military operation in Ukraine, where armored vehicles from all over the world are being used.

Right before our eyes, practically online, changes are taking place that radically alter not only the appearance of steel monsters, but also determine their place in the armies of the world and our own armed forces.

DRONES VS. ARMORED VEHICLES
Globally, the development of reconnaissance means puts an end to old concepts of tank use. Several years ago, NATO command officially announced plans to create such a powerful satellite group that it would allow simultaneous surveillance of the entire surface of the globe. Therefore, the transfer of large concentrations of armored vehicles in our time is becoming an extremely difficult task.

A tank train is a very convenient target for a missile strike, which has been demonstrated more than once by Russian troops, destroying enemy forces during the SVO. In theory, it is possible to concentrate a large concentration of armored vehicles, transferring them in small batches of one or two vehicles. But it will be simply impossible to hide them near the front line due to the development of drones, which can track the movement of each tractor and each train at a distance of up to one hundred kilometers from the front line.

It is becoming practically impossible to concentrate a large tank fist that would go, “roaring with fire, sweeping away with the glitter of steel” through the enemy’s rear, notes military expert and reserve tank officer Alexander Mikhailovsky in a commentary to IA Regnum. But during the Cold War, it was assumed that it was precisely huge concentrations of armored vehicles that would have to march hundreds of kilometers across the radioactive plains of Europe after massive nuclear strikes.

The Soviet concept envisaged a "dash to the English Channel" from East Germany, the American one - a counterattack from the territory of the FRG. This strategy has been criticized before, but with the experience of the Central Military District it becomes obvious that the era of such "blitzkriegs" is a thing of the past.

"Probably the main result is that tanks are no longer a weapon for breaking through layered defense in the best traditions of the blitzkrieg. The armored monsters that used to rush through the enemy's rear and close the encirclement ring are no longer what they used to be. And this requires rethinking the concept of not only tanks as such, but also warfare in general," the expert notes.

THE CONCEPT OF THE "TURTLE TANK"
Even the use of a limited number of armored vehicles, down to single vehicles, today carries enormous risks. First of all, due to the development of unmanned technologies. Every tank spotted by a drone becomes a convenient target for artillery or anti-tank missile system operators. Therefore, armored vehicle crews operating on both sides of the front have to act according to the “hit and run” tactics. The slightest delay in position can cost the crew their lives.

In an interview with Regnum, Odessa resident Maksim Surovikin, who at that time headed the armored group of the Pyatnashka international brigade in Donetsk, spoke about the specifics of using his vehicles: supporting infantry during assaults and "roll-overs" plus working on targets identified by reconnaissance as mobile artillery. At the same time, the enemy in the person of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who were then still sitting in the fortified area of Avdiivka, practically stopped using armored vehicles: their fate was predetermined in advance.

"They use equipment minimally, we burn it right away. Or take it away. You won't see any Leopards or Strikers here - nothing like what's in the Zaporizhzhya direction," said Surovikin, whose vehicles were mostly captured. Butthe drones themselves pose a much greater threat, and not just as a means of adjusting artillery fire.

At the early stage of the SVO, both sides used primitive copters equipped with a device for dropping a fragmentation grenade, a small munition. But such a threat was met with a simple but effective defense - equipping the tank with additional welded structures a la "visor" or, as it took root in social networks, "barbecue".

Initially, the tactics of tank destruction were built in two stages: immobilize it by blowing it up on a mine, force the crew to leave and throw a grenade into the open hatches. A minimal "visor" made of reinforcement allows you to protect the vehicle from attacks from above.

The design turned out to be so successful and simple that the “barbecues” are now welded onto Israeli tanks deployed in the Gaza Strip, and onto armored vehicles of the armed forces of India, Pakistan, and a number of other countries.

But after small commercial copters came heavy drones (for example, the famous Ukrainian "Baba Yaga"), which can drop 82 or even 100 mm caliber mines. Also, a new method of using anti-tank mines was adapted for drones - they are not laid in the path of the tank, but dropped on the vehicle from above.

FPV drones with a warhead from an anti-tank grenade launcher, essentially an RPG charge with wings, capable of hitting a tank not only from above, but also from any direction, acquired a military purpose. Therefore, the tank "visor" gradually grew and gradually covered the entire tank hull. This is how the "turtle tank" design was born.

"The basic concept of tank armor has not changed since World War II. The frontal armor is strong, but it is weaker at the top and rear. The development of drones has eventually forced the creation of another layer of armor to protect the vehicle's hull from a cumulative grenade launcher munition. But this is a temporary solution tailored to specific tasks. In general, the tank concept needs to be rethought," notes Alexander Mikhailovsky.

THE DEATH OF THE ABRAMS AND LEOPARD
Before the start of the SVO in Ukraine, there was a widespread opinion in the Western media that Soviet/Russian-style armored vehicles were too vulnerable and not adapted to the realities of modern combat. This conclusion was made based on their high losses in a number of Middle Eastern conflicts.

All these materials were illustrated with footage of destroyed T-72 tanks in Syria, Iraq and Libya. At the same time, Western-made tanks were held up as an example to Soviet machines.

However, with the start of deliveries of Western armored vehicles to Ukraine, the myth of the power of American or German tanks was shattered by the harsh realities of modern warfare. A video was recently published of a destroyed Leopard 2A4 tank near the town of Progress in Donbass. According to the Lostarmour portal, which analyzes data on armored vehicle losses in modern military conflicts based on open source materials, this is the 32nd tank of the Leopard 2 family lost by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In 2023, Ukrainian troops received about a hundred vehicles of this model, provided by Germany, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. That is, over a year of military operations, more than 30% of all delivered vehicles were out of order. American Abrams tanks did not have a better fate either. Last week, the 15th tank of this model out of more than 20 vehicles supplied by the United States was destroyed near the settlement of Vovchye. So the "sunset" of the era of modern tanks is an objective fact that requires a serious rethinking of the rules of war.

According to experts, there are three possible scenarios for the development of the modern tank concept. The first involves abandoning the tank as such. There is no need to make an expensive, heavy, and armored vehicle whose chances of surviving on the battlefield tend to zero. The second option is to create a concept for some kind of unmanned armored platform. Especially since various robotic combat systems are increasingly used in combat conditions today to solve a variety of tasks.

And the third is a serious rethinking of the existing tank concept and the creation of qualitatively new machines using new design solutions. As an example, the development of the domestic platform "Armata".

"I think that no one will give up tanks as such. You can't leave infantry without fire support. An unmanned tank is a separate topic altogether, but in short, we are simply not mature enough for this yet. So, in my personal opinion, the future belongs to vehicles with an unmanned turret and an armored capsule for the crew," Mikhailovsky sums up.

In the meantime, existing tanks are being covered with additional layers of armor and modernized for the rapidly changing realities of combat operations. Therefore, it is difficult to predict what armored vehicles will be like in six months or a year. But after the end of the SVO, all the experience gained will be studied in Russia and around the world and will definitely form the basis for promising future developments.

Thirty-three-year-old pro-life activist Bevelyn Beatty Williams has been sentenced to three years and five months in prison by a Manhattan federal court for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act by protesting outside an NYC child sacrifice abortion clinic.

The Christian was convicted of "interference, including by threats and force, with individuals seeking to obtain and provide" child sacrifice abortions in the early days of the pandemic in 2020, according to a statement from the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The Tennessee wife and mother was sentenced after preaching the Gospel outside an NYC child sacrifice abortion clinic and allegedly injuring a clinic worker’s hand and blocking the entrance.

Williams, who has a two-year-old daughter, intends to appeal the decision.

To that end she he has set up a GiveSendGo fundraiser seeking to raise $250,000 in support of a "fight for freedom," noting she has 60 days to appeal.

So far she has raised $62,000 towards her target amount.

Chicago Crowd Erupts After President Trump Unleashes on Rude Reporter to Her Face
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] President Trump traveled to reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown

A rude news hound opened the question and answer session by accusing Trump of lying and attacking the black community.

President Trump sat quietly and patiently as ABC’s Rachel Scott spewed lies.

The crowd erupted as President Trump unleashed on Rachel Scott.

"Well, first of all, I don’t think I’ve ever been asked a question in such a horrible manner," Trump said as the crowd erupted. "You don’t even say, ’Hello. How are you?’ Are you with ABC? Because I think they are a fake news network. A terrible network."

Trump continued, "I think it’s disgraceful that I came here in good spirit. I love the Black population of this country."

Trump went on to tout his accomplishments: "I’ve done so much for the black population of this country, including employment, including opportunities...."

President Trump blasted the host again, "That was such a rude introduction. I don’t know why you would do something like that."

Foreigners are required to register for military service immediately upon receiving Russian citizenship
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] At a plenary session on July 31, the State Duma adopted in the first reading and as a whole a bill requiring men who have been decided to be granted Russian citizenship to register for military service before taking the oath of allegiance to a Russian citizen and receiving a Russian passport.

In particular, internal affairs agencies, within the limits of their competence, are obliged to provide information about male persons in respect of whom a decision has been made to accept them into Russian citizenship and for whom it is planned to organize the taking of the oath of citizenship of the Russian Federation.

The document proposes amendments to the current law "On military duty and military service". Thus, the responsibilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be expanded.

In addition, on July 31, the State Duma adopted a law on the termination of acquired Russian citizenship for failure to fulfill the obligation to register for military service.

For the first time, new citizens of the Russian Federation lost their citizenship for evading military registration at the end of 2023. After that, the head of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation, Valery Fadeyev, proposed issuing Russian passports to new citizens of the country in the presence of a military commissar.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the first half of 2024, about a thousand naturalized citizens were deprived of their Russian passports for violating criminal law. In more than half of the cases, citizenship was revoked for committing crimes related to the illegal trafficking of narcotics.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously noted that the authorities should radically update their approaches to migration policy. The head of state noted that only those citizens who respect the country's traditions, history and the Russian language should come to live and work in Russia.

Body of Hezbollah's Fuad Shukr found under rubble of Beirut blast

[JPost] "He was flat, in several pieces, like a paste"
The body of Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr has been found in rubble in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, two security sources told Reuters on Wednesday.

Lebanon's Hezbollah said early on Wednesday its senior commander was in the building in the southern suburbs of Beirut targeted by an Israeli strike.
Of course they also claimed he was alive and well.
The IDF announced late on Tuesday it had killed Shukr, whom it named as Hezbollah's most senior commander and blamed for an attack at the weekend that left a dozen youths dead in the Golan Heights.

American Dunn, convicted of murder, acquitted after 34 years in prison
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Christopher Dunn, a resident of the American state of Missouri, convicted of murder 34 years ago, was acquitted and released from prison. This was reported by the human rights organization Midwest Innocence Project.

"We are thrilled that Chris will finally be reunited with his family after 34 years in prison for a crime he did not commit," the statement said.

The Missouri Supreme Court ordered Dunn's release on July 30. A St. Louis Circuit judge had overturned the conviction on July 22, but the state attorney general insisted that Dunn remain in custody.

Dunn became the second inmate in recent weeks to be exonerated after serving many years in prison. Sandra Hemme, who spent 43 years in prison, was released on July 19 in the western part of the state. The woman was convicted of murder, but now a judge has found her “virtual innocence” proven, CNN notes.

Dunn was convicted of the murder of 15-year-old Rick Rogers on May 18, 1990. Rogers was 18 at the time. Two teenagers who were with Rogers claimed that Dunn shot him, although Rogers' mother and sister said that the boy was in the house with them.

There was no physical evidence against Dunn, but he was sentenced to life in prison without parole for first-degree murder. Witnesses later recanted their testimony and said they were pressured by prosecutors and police, the TV channel notes.

"Witnesses later recanted their testimony and said they were pressured by prosecutors and police...,"

That's 1 way to look at it.

Then there is the possibility they recanted under pressure from the convict's family members and community. And/Or we have Liberal Judges up for re-election.

For a sec. let's say that it was the prosecutors and police.

Those involved, IF still alive at 60+ now, should put on trial and if convicted have their properties sold to cover their part of the likely $$ Millions lawsuits coming.

Why should the TAXPAYERS have to pay for the whole amount of the lawsuit for the possible abuse of the law by certain persons acting outside of it?

India-Pakistan
TTP declared 'Fitna al-Khawarij'; 'Khariji' to precede terrorists' names: govt
Ha! Good move. That oughta take care of the problem.
[GEO.TV] In a move to shift its war on terror from a physical to an ideological front, the government on Wednesday categorised the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
Pakistain (TTP) as "Fitna al-Khawarij."

The government also made it mandatory for all institutions to use "Khariji" before the names of perpetrators of terrorist attacks on Pakistain, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior.

The notification, which comes at a time when forces of Evil have intensified attacks on armed forces, intends to expose the real "ideology" of the banned holy warrior outfits, which it asserts have "distorted the image of Islam under the guise of religion."

According to the notification, titles such as 'Mufti' and 'Hafiz' will not be used for individuals associated with terrorist organizations, while in all correspondence and documents, the term "Khariji" will be written and read before their names.

The notification adds that the TTP forces of Evil have no genuine interest in the religion and such "corrupt elements" are referred to as "Fitna al-Khawarij."

The ministry directed all government institutions to implement the order immediately and use the terms in their letters and documents.

Subsequently, the interior ministry banned two more terrorist outfits, including the Hafiz Gul Bahadur
...a member of the Madda Khel clan of the Uthmanzai Waziris. Educated in a Deobandi madrassa located in Multan, he is affiliated with the Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) political party. Upon the formation of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in December 2007, he was announced as the group's overall naib amir under Baitullah Mehsud, who was based in South Wazoo, but has largely distanced himself from the TTP due to rivalries with the Mehsuds and disagreements about the TTP's attacks against the Pak state..
Group (HGBG) and Majeed Brigade (MB).

The interior ministry approved the recommendations to ban the holy warrior groups monitoring them for two years, according to the notification.

Following the interior ministry's nod, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) added the aforementioned groups to the proscribed organizations' list.

Pakistain witnessed a surge in terror activities over the past few months, particularly in its Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan provinces.

According to the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) Annual Security report, during the second quarter of 2024, the country suffered 380 violence-linked fatalities and 220 injuries. These stats include casualties of civilians, security personnel, and outlaws, it said.

As a result of as many as 240 incidents of terror attacks and counter-terror operations, a mentioned.

Qassam Brigades predict 'major repercussions' across region after Haniyeh's killing
[GEO.TV] Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
's military wing, the Qassam Brigades, has issued a statement, calling the killing of Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister of Gaza after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
a "dangerous event" that will have "major repercussions across the entire region", Al Jazeera reported.

The statement said: "With the highest expressions of pride and honour, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades announce to our struggling Paleostinian people, our Arab and Islamic nations, and the free people of the world, the martyrdom of the leader Ismail Abdul Salam Haniyeh, commander of the Islamic Resistance® Movement Hamas.

"He was martyred following a cowardly Zionist liquidation operation targeting his residence in Tehran. In response to this Nazi crime, we affirm the following points:

"Firstly, the leader and fighter 'Abu al-Abd' ascended after a life filled with dedication, struggle, and sacrifices. Throughout his journey, he accompanied the various stages of the movement’s development and struggle, leaving clear contributions and marks at different points.

"He gave much to the Paleostinian cause and played a significant role in strengthening the resistance, unifying the efforts of the nation, and directing the compass towards Jerusalem. His life culminated in martyrdom during the noblest battle, 'Al-Aqsa Flood,' fought by our people and the free ones of our nation in defence of al-Aqsa and the sanctities.

"Secondly, the criminal liquidation of the leader Haniyeh in the heart of the Iranian capital is a significant and dangerous event that shifts the battle to new dimensions and will have major repercussions across the entire region. The enemy miscalculated by expanding the scope of aggression, assassinating resistance leaders in various arenas, and violating the illusory sovereignty of regional states. The criminal Netanyahu, blinded by delusions of grandeur, is driving the occupation entity toward the abyss, accelerating its collapse and permanent removal from Paleostinian land.

"Thirdly, this Zionist recklessness must end, and the rampant enemy must be curbed, with its meddling hand restrained to prevent further aggression. The continuous crimes of the enemy across various fronts sound an alarm for all nations and peoples of the region, compelling everyone to support and back the resistance in Paleostine. This resistance serves as the front-line defence for the entire nation, which is why the enemy strives to crush and subdue it to focus on larger aggression against the nations and peoples of the region.

"Fourthly, the blood of our leader Ismail Haniyeh, mingling today with the blood of Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
's children, women, youth, and elders, and with the blood of our people and fighters, underscores that the resistance and its leaders are at the heart of the battle alongside their people. This precious blood will not be shed in vain but will illuminate the path to liberation. The enemy will pay for its aggression with its own blood in Gaza, the West Bank, and within its borders, wherever our fighters reach by God's will."

It's Not A Vote-Buying Bribe, It's Statemanship
[Breitbart] A student loan forgiveness update will be rolled out in the next week by the Biden administration, coming less than 100 days before the presidential election.
They keep trying. And the US Supreme Court keeps knocking them down.
Emails will be sent to millions notifying them they could qualify for debt relief under the enhanced program, along with an opportunity to opt out if they want.

An Education Department announcement made clear what is on offer, with U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona declaring:

Starting tomorrow, the U.S. Department of Education (Department) will begin emailing all borrowers with at least one outstanding federally held student loan to provide updates on potential student debt relief.

Today, the Biden-Harris administration takes another step forward in our drive to deliver student debt relief to borrowers who’ve been failed by a broken system.

The Biden-Harris Administration made a commitment to deliver student debt relief to as many borrowers as possible as quickly as possible, and today, as we near the end of a lengthy rLearned Elders of Islamking process, we’re one step closer to keeping that promise.

Much of the relief could be provided to borrowers automatically, without an application, according to the Education Department.

This could streamline relief for many people.

Africa North
In Mali, Retaliation for Tin-Zautin
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] In retaliation for the ambush on the convoy of the Malian Armed Forces and the Wagner PMC,
…the work of the CSP-DPA alliance— the latest name of the Azawad (Tuareg) separatists…
powerful air strikes were carried out on Tin Zoutine (a city on the border of Algeria and Mali, in the area of which a recent battle took place). Local sources report about 30-40 militants and 1 field commander killed.

The strikes were carried out not by the Malian or Wagner PMC air forces, but by the Burkina Faso Air Force, which used Turkish Bayraktar reconnaissance and strike UAVs, which feel at ease in this theater of operations with virtually no air defense (unlike in Ukraine).
Ouch. That was not delicately said.
Well, it can be noted that in this case, the Bayraktars are fighting on the side of good - they are at the disposal of both the Malian and Burkina Faso Armed Forces.

In general, this is a kind of retaliation for the recent ambush.

It is worth noting that Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger have recently formed a military defense alliance that provides for the possibility of military operations by members of the bloc on each other's territory in the interests of combating terrorism.

So it can be confirmed that the air force of Burkina Faso has already been involved in joint operations of the Armed Forces of Mali and the Wagner PMC near the border with Algeria.

According to a number of reports, additional reinforcements have been transferred from Libya and Syria to Mali. Negotiations are also underway with the Tauregs on the ransom of captured Wagner PMC fighters.

Mali's retaliatory strike sets up Tuareg militant camp in Tinhavatin

Fierce battles with terrorists continue in Mali — combat aircraft have retaliated by striking the location of a Tuareg group and foreign mercenaries in Tinhavatin. It is preliminarily known that at least 40 militants have been eliminated and up to 70 more wounded. The details were reported by Voyennoye Obozreniye.

FRENCH TROOPS IN MALI
The second blow to the group's camp was dealt when the militants tried to start transporting "three hundredths" across the border. The publication assumes that they are foreign mercenaries, including Ukrainian ones.

If earlier the Ukrainian media wrote about the successes of mercenaries in Mali, now they have fallen silent, the authors noted.
Eerily silent. Except for the ominous music building in the background, which is a signal of what’s to come…
Previous Ukrainian publications about the attack on the servicemen of the Malian army and the Wagner PMC were full of optimism. Ukraine did not try to hide the fact that its intelligence was involved in the operation and that the GUR officers were part of the Tuareg group, the military observers wrote.

“The joy of the ‘victory’ on the part of the terrorist group, which was supported by Ukrainian militants with funds and under the supervision of Western intelligence services, turned out to be short-lived,” the experts noted.

The Malian army has already published statements that drone operators tracked the movements of militants, after which the data was transmitted to the command post. Then the order to destroy them was received.

Unofficial sources indicate that two surviving Wagner employees are in captivity, and their condition is still unknown.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, joint forces of the Wagner PMC and the Malian Armed Forces fought fierce battles with rebels and Al-Qaeda (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) in the vicinity of the town of Tinzauten on July 22–27.

On July 28, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Mali reported that the army was launching massive strikes on terrorist and smuggler concentration sites, the statement noted.

The bodies of the dead Wagner Group fighters, as well as those captured during the clashes with the Tuaregs, must be returned to Russia, Dmitry Rogozin, a member of the Federation Council from the Zaporozhye region, called on July 29.

Guterres warns of risk of escalation after Beirut strikes, Haniyeh killing
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres considers the assassination of the head of the Palestinian Hamas Politburo Ismail Haniyeh in Iran, as well as Israel's strikes on Beirut, a dangerous escalation of the situation in the Middle East, Stephane Dujarric, the official representative of the head of the world organization, said at a briefing on July 31.

"The Secretary-General believes that the attacks we have seen in southern Beirut and Tehran represent a dangerous escalation at a time when all efforts should be directed towards a ceasefire in Gaza," he said.

Dujarric added that the UN Secretary General calls for maximum restraint and for working towards de-escalation in the region.

As reported by Regnum news agency, on July 30, Israeli Air Force aircraft fired four missiles at targets in the southern suburbs of Beirut, destroying a residential building. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, three people were killed and 85 were injured. It was later reported that the body of Hezbollah commander Fuanda Shukr was found after the Israeli army's missile strike.

On the night of July 31, 61-year-old Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed in a rocket attack on a house in Tehran. Hamas spokesman in Lebanon Mahmoud Takh blamed Israel and the United States for Haniyeh's murder. He said the attack had been coordinated with Washington.

The Kremlin and the Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack on Haniyeh. According to Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, a political assassination was committed that will further escalate tensions in the region.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Hamas Leader Assassinated in Tehran: Middle East Reaches Red Line Again
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Kirill Semenov

[REGNUM] Hamas has issued a statement saying its political leader and head of the politburo, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed in a "treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran."

It came less than a day after three people, including two children, were killed and 74 wounded in an Israeli strike in Beirut.

The Israeli military called the attack a "targeted assassination operation" against one of the military leaders of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, Fouad Shukr.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded to Haniyeh's killing by saying that the "criminal and terrorist Zionist regime" would be "severely punished," adding that Iran considered it "obligatory to avenge the blood" of the Hamas leader.

And President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that Iran "will defend its territorial integrity, dignity, honor and pride and will make the terrorist occupiers regret their cowardly act."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry also stressed that “the blood of the slain Hamas leader will not be shed in vain.”

Iran has declared three days of mourning for the death of leader Ismail Haniyeh. After a ceremony in Tehran, his body will be transferred to Doha tomorrow afternoon. He will be buried in the Qatari capital on Friday, Hamas said.

At the time of writing, Israel remains officially silent about Haniyeh's murder and is "assessing the situation."

Iran's IRNA news agency reported that the killing took place around 2 a.m. Wednesday local time, noting that he was being held at a special center for war veterans in Tehran.

On the other hand, Iran's Pars news agency said Haniyeh's residence in an area north of the capital was attacked, adding that he was killed along with one of his bodyguards.

Estimates of where the attack came from varied. The most common version initially was that an Israeli warplane had entered Iranian airspace and attacked Haniyeh's residence outside Tehran.

Later, experts began to believe that the missile was launched outside the airspace of the Islamic Republic.

There is a possibility that the strike was carried out from Iraqi airspace, this version seems quite plausible. If so, then the risk of retaliatory actions by the "Axis of Resistance" against the United States increases, since the actions of the Israeli air force could hardly have been uncoordinated with the Americans, who participate in controlling Iraqi airspace and have bases there. Jordan may also be among the accomplices of this action.

CONSOLIDATION OF THE PALESTINIANS
Haniyeh's death will not weaken Hamas. On the contrary, his place may be taken by representatives of a new generation who will not only benefit from his political experience, but also increase it by working on his mistakes.

The son of the slain Hamas leader, Abdul Salam Haniyeh, said his father's assassination would only strengthen Palestinian resistance to Israel. "My father survived four assassination attempts for his patriotic mission, and today Allah has granted him the martyrdom he always dreamed of," the younger Haniyeh told Arab media.

Ismail Haniyeh spent three years in an Israeli prison and was wounded in an Israeli airstrike in 2003. Haniyeh also lost many of his loved ones in the conflict with Israel.

In April, three of his sons, Hazem, Amir and Mohammad, were killed when the car they were travelling in was bombed in Gaza. The attack also killed four of Haniyeh's grandchildren, three girls and a boy. More than 60 of his family members and relatives have been killed since the war began on October 7.

"He was very keen to establish national unity and sought unity among all Palestinian factions, and we say that this assassination will not stop the resistance, which will fight until freedom is achieved," Abdul Salam Haniyeh added.

It is possible that another incentive for the Benjamin Netanyahu regime to take this step, which is criminal from the point of view of international law, was precisely the agreement of the Palestinian factions to unite and form a government of national unity, in which Hamas and Haniyeh personally could play a significant role.

The murder appears to be a kind of Israeli revenge against the Palestinians for overcoming the rejection by Tel Aviv and its Western allies of Hamas's entry into the new PLO structures.

Thus, Israel failed to remove Hamas from the list of forces responsible for the future of Palestine, and it decided to destroy its leader, sending a signal to all Palestinian forces that they could share his fate.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the killing of the Hamas politburo chief, calling it a "cowardly act and a dangerous event." He called on Palestinians to "unite, be patient and steadfast in the face of the Israeli occupation."

NETANYAHU DECIDED TO "TURN THE TABLE"
Haniyeh's killing in the Iranian capital threatens to escalate tensions in the Middle East and could further undermine any prospects for a breakthrough in already stalled talks to end the war in Gaza.

Before Haniyeh's death, Israel and Hamas were believed to be close to an agreement to suspend the nearly 10-month war in Gaza that has killed 40,000 people, mostly Palestinian civilians, and led to a growing humanitarian crisis.

Haniyeh has been a key participant in months of talks brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the United States. Late last week, officials declared progress despite continuing disagreements on key issues. Then Israel began pushing new conditions that the Palestinians find unacceptable.

Now, it has finally become clear that Netanyahu has taken the most escalatory scenario, hoping to shift the responsibility for leaving the negotiation process to Hamas.

After the assassination of its leader, the Palestinian resistance is unlikely to find the strength to continue consultations on a truce and will most likely refuse further ceasefire negotiations.

Qatar, which played a central role in the mediation, also called Haniyeh's killing "a heinous crime and a dangerous escalation." Its Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that the killing and "Israel's continued attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip... are leading the region toward chaos."

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, who personally brokered the ceasefire talks, questioned their chances of success after Haniyeh's killing. "How can mediation be successful if one side kills the negotiator on the other side?" the sheikh wrote on social media.

"The world needs serious partners and a global position against the disregard for human life," he added.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Wednesday that the U.S. government, which also served as a mediator, would “work hard to make sure that we do everything we can to reduce tensions and resolve issues diplomatically.” But now, it appears, those efforts alone will not be enough.

IRANIAN RETALIATION AND RISKS FOR THE US
Haniyeh's death in Tehran, like the Beirut strike that killed Shukr, leaves Israel facing potential reactions not only from Hamas and Hezbollah in response to attacks on their leaders, but also the question of Iran's response to a murder on its soil.

Haniyeh was killed while in Tehran with other senior members of the pro-Iranian Axis of Resistance to attend the inauguration of Iran's newly elected president.

So what happened is not just the assassination of a senior Hamas leader, but a new challenge to the Islamic Republic that Tehran will not be able to ignore. At first glance, the negative resonance for Iran already significantly exceeds that caused by the assassination of senior IRGC officers in Damascus by the Israelis in April, which led to Iran’s first-ever strikes on Israeli territory. Then Iran fired multiple missiles.

The two countries have been waging a secret war for years, using a variety of "proxies," and Israel has been practicing targeted killings. In recent years, the Israelis have already carried out a number of high-profile "operations" in Iran.

The current situation is aggravated by the Iranians' awareness of their inability to protect the leader of their ally in their own capital.

On Tuesday, shortly before his death, Haniyeh met with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader. Israel's ability to target the Islamic Republic's top leaders and their guests is a serious challenge to Iran, where no one can feel safe anymore.

It cannot be ruled out that the murder of Haniyeh will give rise to a new wave of rumors and gossip in the country regarding the death of President Ebrahim Raisi, and many will again talk about an Israeli connection.

Of course, such escalation does not add popularity to the Iranian authorities. On the other hand, it forces Tehran to look for such response measures that would demonstrate its ability to carry out retaliatory actions in order to prevent a repetition of such attacks.

The anxiety currently reigning in Iranian society has prompted the country's authorities to review security measures, which have now failed once again.

The Islamic Republic's leadership had already held an emergency meeting of the Supreme National Security Council at the Supreme Leader's Residence on Wednesday morning. Iranian state television said the Israeli attack would lead to retaliation from Iran-backed "Axis of Resistance" groups in the region.

Israel will face a "harsh and painful response" from Iran and its allies, Iran's Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) said in a statement following the meeting.

Haniyeh's assassination may also bring the denouement closer in Lebanon, as it coincides with the Israeli attack on Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut and the death of Fouad Shukr. Hezbollah and Iran will now coordinate their efforts to carry out possible retaliatory actions against Israel. This further increases the risk of Israelis clashing in Lebanon with the Iranians and other forces of the "Axis of Resistance."

This was probably Netanyahu's plan, too. The Israeli prime minister did not receive US approval to begin the campaign in Lebanon and is now trying to provoke Iran and Hezbollah into retaliatory actions that would serve as a pretext for an Israeli invasion. Then Washington will have nothing to say. The US will have no choice but to continue providing military aid to Tel Aviv.

Moreover, the United States cannot formally condemn Israel for the murder of Haniyeh, since it itself suggested that Israel, instead of carpet bombing and street fighting in Gaza, focus on eliminating the Hamas figures responsible for the October 7 attacks.

However, such a scenario also puts American forces in the region at risk, since responsibility for the death of the Hamas leader could also be placed on the United States.

The Axis of Resistance groups in Syria and Iraq are quite capable of resuming attacks on American military installations in those countries, taking the escalation to a new dangerous level.

#1  Russians are sentimental about "Palestinians" & Iran.
"Palestinians" because Soviet Union invented them in 1960es (and sold the idea to the Arabs - which wasn't easy).
Iran because it reminds them of Soviet Union - only with Islam instead of Marxism.

#2  I suspect the assassination may have been done with a reaper style drone.

Long range, stealthy, can do the round trip without refueling and all that.

A lot easier than sending a piloted jet to do the job.

Government Corruption
Stronger than the President: Biden and his Kamala have found a way to circumvent the US Constitution
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Malek Dudakov

[REGNUM] The United States is in the midst of another round of legal wars. The administration of Joe Biden, who has already become a lame duck, has come out with its last major initiative that can be implemented before the elections.

This is the largest judicial reform in the United States in at least the last 100 years. The struggle for control over the judicial branch of government threatens to destabilize the situation in America on the eve of elections and a turbulent period of transition of power.

The politicization of American courts has been going on for a long time. Judges do not exist in a vacuum: they are representatives of the same American society, which is mired in division and terribly polarized.

Moreover, federal judges are selected by the White House and confirmed by the Senate. Both parties, Republicans and Democrats, are actively practicing appointing as many loyal judges as possible while they can.

There have been periods in U.S. history when the judiciary was dominated by progressive judges, such as during the 1960s.

But since Ronald Reagan and then George H. W. Bush, the pendulum has swung the other way. Conservative judges have come to dominate both the Supreme Court, the nation's top judicial body, and many lower-level appellate courts.

This rightward turn has become especially pronounced during the presidency of Donald Trump. He served only four years in office, but during that time he managed to appoint three of the nine Supreme Court justices.

And at the same time, hundreds of federal judges, close to Trump in views and with conservative convictions, appeared in lower courts.

The result was a series of victories for Republicans on the judicial front.

In 2022, the Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide. Now, individual states once again have the right to restrict or even ban abortion. Republicans worked on this issue for 50 years and finally succeeded in overhauling abortion laws.

In 2023, the Supreme Court ruled that so-called "positive discrimination" practices in university admissions were unconstitutional. In fact, it allowed applicants to be selected based on skin color or gender. That is, racial and gender quotas were established, and those who did not fit them were discriminated against.

For several years, applicants of Asian descent have been suing Harvard, demanding compensation for all cases of discrimination. During the trial, it was revealed that at Harvard, an Asian applicant, all other things being equal, has a 25% chance of being admitted, a white applicant has a 35% chance, a Hispanic applicant has a 75% chance, and a black applicant has a 95% chance. All for the sake of supporting “oppressed minorities.”

Therefore, many invented fictitious roots for themselves, just to get into the necessary quotas. Since 2023, this has been officially banned.

The Supreme Court has since encroached on the powers of the U.S. government, overturning the 1984 Chevron decision that allowed U.S. officials to interpret how they regulate businesses. Republicans are already hoping to use that to enact massive deregulation of the U.S. economy if they win the upcoming election.

The Supreme Court also played a role in the election wars. It secured the right of the US President to partial immunity from prosecution.

This has allowed Donald Trump's lawyers to effectively freeze all key lawsuits against him. They will seek to dismiss these lawsuits, and the legal debate will take years. And the final verdicts will be announced well after the upcoming November elections.

While Republicans celebrate the Supreme Court's decisions, Democrats are indignant. They have long been campaigning to discredit conservative judges, and at least two of them have already been targeted.

Clarence Thomas was caught accepting gifts from major Republican donors and flying on their private jets.

Another justice, Samuel Alito, was accused of supporting the riots at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. On that day, an inverted US flag was flown over Alito's home - a symbol of those demanding a review of the election results.

And three years later, the Supreme Court began overturning lower court rulings that sent hundreds of Trump supporters to prison for those protests.

Democrats and the White House have been pushing hard to remove both justices, but to no avail. The Supreme Court is a de facto lifelong tenure, with many serving until death or old age. Impeachment procedures for justices exist, but they are difficult to implement.

So, to the Democrats' dismay, they have no control over the fact that of the nine current Supreme Court members, six are Republicans.

Even during Biden's first year in office, there was talk of trying to flood the court with newcomers. They said we won't remove the old ones, but at least add 5-7 liberal judges to offset the advantage of the right.

Roosevelt had similar attempts in the mid-1930s, when conservative judges were holding up his New Deal reforms. But then, as now, these undertakings led to nothing.

Now the White House has officially proposed another reform. It wants to limit the term of Supreme Court members to 18 years. And at the same time, give each president the right to appoint new judges every two years.

Moreover, Biden’s team has also conceived a separate amendment to the US Constitution, which should limit the president’s right to immunity.

It’s odd to see such a sweeping constitutional effort emerging with Biden just four months left in office, but it’s clearly part of the Democratic Party’s 2025 platform if Kamala Harris wins the presidency and Democrats take majorities in both houses of Congress.

They won’t be able to change the US Constitution – the process of adopting amendments is extremely labor-intensive, and in the current conditions of America’s division, it is unrealistic to implement this.

But the Democrats really can try to shovel the Supreme Court. After all, it has now received enormous power against the backdrop of how the political system in Washington has gone to pieces.

It is practically impossible to carry out a major reform in Congress, so the parties are forced to use all opportunities to appoint more of their judges. And they will then make the necessary decisions.

Moreover, if we are talking specifically about the Supreme Court, these decisions will prevail over any law of Congress or decree of the president.

The US is hardly the first country where the judiciary has become overly powerful in a crisis of political order. The same thing is happening in Britain and Germany. Right now, judicial wars are raging in Israel and Poland.

US elections could trigger the collapse of the global liberal system
Wherever a split in society breaks the traditional political system, the courts become the final arbiter through which alone the necessary decisions can be made.

The aftermath of the judicial wars in the United States has seen trust in the Supreme Court plummet to record lows. Only about a quarter of Americans still trust their top judicial body.

And he faces a new challenge: hearing lawsuits challenging the election results on behalf of the losing side. Whatever the judge decides, it will anger half of America.

And if individual states refuse to recognize the Supreme Court's verdicts, this threatens to put the country on the brink of division or even civil war.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: July 31, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 22:58 Zelenskyy, in an interview with Le Monde, again stated that Russia should be present at the second Peace Summit: "I believe - like most countries - that Russian representatives should be present at the second peace summit in November, otherwise we will not achieve viable results. I do not want them to interfere with us preparing a joint plan. If everyone wants them to sit at the table, then we cannot be against it. A fair peace for Ukraine should allow us to restore our territorial integrity, but this does not mean that we should do this exclusively with the help of weapons. It is desirable that the whole world stop Putin, so that borders are a precondition. Today, we are on the front line as long as Russia wants to wage war. And then we can resolve these issues diplomatically, if Russia so wishes."

Zelensky also stated that "any issue concerning the territorial integrity of Ukraine cannot be resolved by one president, one person or all presidents in the world without the Ukrainian people - this contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine."

"Ukraine will never give up its territories. The authorities do not have the official right to give up their territories. For this to happen, the Ukrainian people must want it. I will say frankly that this is not the best option, because we are dealing with Putin, and for him, obviously, it will be a victory if he gets part of our territory. But even later, if the conflict is frozen, he can come back and do it. That is why this issue is very, very difficult," Zelensky explained.

The president is also convinced that China can force Russia to stop this war if it wants. "That's why I don't want Beijing to be a mediator, I want it to put pressure on the Russian Federation," Zelensky added.

22:30 Ukraine has already used F-16s, so far as air defense, The Telegraph writes, citing sources.

21:59 Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg called calls for Ukraine to cede territory for the sake of peace unacceptable: "Let's imagine that we were attacked: Southern Styria or Burgenland was occupied by a foreign state, there was an attempt to destroy the federal government of Austria or expel it from the country. And then they would tell us: dear Austrians, why don't you cede part of your territory for the sake of peace?.. I consider such calls from outside unacceptable."

20:18 Zelensky said in his evening address that Kyiv is preparing new bilateral security agreements and new agreements at the multilateral level. "August is the time for preparation. Autumn is the time for results," the president added. He also said that he had heard Syrsky's report: "The frontline situation. First of all, the Pokrovsk direction. Our positions, our defensive actions and our possible reinforcement."

19:16 Ukraine will not restore the transit of Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia, Shmyhal said following talks with Fico: "The sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine do not pose a threat to the energy security of Slovakia and Europe as a whole, which is why their cancellation is not a subject of discussion." According to the prime minister, Kyiv has "full understanding from Brussels on this issue."

18:34 The first F-16 aircraft have arrived in Ukraine, Bloomberg writes. According to the publication's sources, there are not many fighters, but the allies fulfilled their obligations within the deadline and transferred some before the beginning of August.

17:59 GUR special forces have struck a Russian base in Syria, Kyiv Post reports, citing sources in the intelligence service. According to them, the Khimik group carried out another comprehensive strike on the positions of the Russian occupation forces in Syria at the end of July 2024. This time, the target of the attack was Russian military equipment at the occupied Kuweires airfield east of Aleppo. First, a Russian mobile electronic warfare system was destroyed, and then drones attacked Russian military facilities at the airfield itself.

17:37 GUR representative Andrey Yusov spoke about the peculiarity of the night drone attack on Ukraine: "It can be noted that this time there was a significant number of so-called distracting UAVs, that is, without an explosive part, the purpose of which is to exhaust and study air defense systems. And this is also not a new tactic. The defense forces practice and effectively counter such challenges."

16:46 The Ukrainian side has not been officially notified of the death of Mariupol defender Oleksandr Ishchenko, Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets reported. "I have sent an urgent letter to the Human Rights Commissioner in the Russian Federation so that she can look into the tragic death of a prisoner of war held by the Russian side and inform me of the circumstances and cause of death," the Human Rights Commissioner said.

16:12 Russians shelled the village of Pivnichny in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk Oblast with artillery, wounding two people, the prosecutor's office reported. In addition, one person died as a result of Russian shelling of the Novogrodivska community. In the village of Annovka in the Pokrovsky district, Russian troops dropped an aerial bomb - three people were wounded, including two children aged three and 15.

15:35 Ukrainian drones hit a Russian Mi-8 helicopter at takeoff, z-publics write. According to them, this happened far from the front line. Ukrainian publics report that this happened in the Donetsk region. Donetsk Telegram channels published footage of large-scale smoke today, but did not name the reasons for it.

15:04 A 55-year-old Ukrainian prisoner of war, Alexander Ishchenko, who served as a driver in the Azov Regiment, has died in a pretrial detention center in Rostov-on-Don, Russian media reports.

14:28 China will tighten export controls on drones and related products starting in September, the Ministry of Commerce announced. The decision was made to protect "national security and interests." Unless special permission is granted, it will be impossible to export UAV engines with a power of more than 16 kW, laser targeting systems, and infrared imaging equipment. The restrictions will also apply to UAV suppression equipment with a range of more than 5 km.

14:13 There is a high probability that Ukraine was attacked tonight not by "shahids", but by new cheap Russian Gerber drones, reports military radio technology specialist and technical blogger Sergei Beskrestnov (Flash). Or, according to him, the attack was combined - there are many facts to prove this. "That is why there were so many of them, and the destruction result was 100%. The goal was to wear out our air defense," Beskrestnov noted.

13:29 The Main Intelligence Directorate carried out one of the largest cyberattacks on the financial sector and government resources of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian media write, citing intelligence sources. According to them, the attack continued continuously for a week and affected the online services of all major Russian banks, including the Central Bank, as well as providers, national payment systems, etc. In particular, the victims of the attack were VTB Bank, Alfa Bank, Sberbank, Raiffeisen Bank, RSHB Bank, Ak Bars Bank, Rosbank, Gazprombank, T-Bank, Bank, Dom.RF bank and the Bank of Russia. On the last day of the cyberattack, Russian resources of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Tax Service were also affected. As of the evening of July 30, the Russians have not managed to resume the work of the attacked resources.

12:22 Russians struck the urban settlement of Velykyi Burluk in the Kupyansky district of the Kharkiv region with KABs - one person was killed, a ten-year-old child was injured, reported the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov.

12:05 Putin has issued a decree increasing payments for joining the army for six months. From August 1 until the end of the year, an additional 400 thousand rubles (about 4,600 dollars) will be paid for signing a contract. This is a federal payment in addition to the regional ones. They vary in different regions, in Moscow they already reach almost 2 million rubles (about 23.1 thousand dollars).

11:48 The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia will view the contract for Japan to supply the US with Patriot missiles as a "hostile step" and "reserves the right to respond." The $20 million contract was signed two days ago. Previously, Japan could only export parts manufactured under an American license to the US, but now it can export finished products. Moscow fears that Japanese missiles could end up in Ukraine.

10:56 The Russian Ministry of Energy reported that a “fundamental decision” has been made to extend the ban on gasoline exports from Russia until September-October.

10:19 The Defense Forces struck a weapons and military equipment storage facility near Kursk at night, the General Staff reported. Detailed information on the results of the strike is being clarified.

10:07 In four districts of the Kyiv region, 13 private houses were damaged during a night drone attack. The fall of most UAV debris is recorded outside populated areas, said the head of the OVA Ruslan Kravchenko.

09:48 Air defense destroyed all 89 Shahed-type attack UAVs , which Russia used to attack mainly Kiev and the region, the Air Force reported. A guided Kh-59 air missile, which the enemy used to attack the Nikolaev region, was also shot down. The Air Force emphasized that this is one of the most massive attacks by Shahed attack drones. The enemy used the same number of "shaheds" on New Year's Eve, January 1, 2024.

09:10 The Russian Defense Ministry announced the start of the third stage of the exercise of non-strategic nuclear forces, during which missile formations of the Southern and Central Military Districts will practice preparation for the combat use of Iskander-M systems.

09:03 In Donetsk Oblast, one person was killed as a result of Russian shelling on July 30 - in Toretsk. Four more people in the region were injured in the past 24 hours, reported OVA head Vadim Filashkin.

08:44 One person was killed and one was wounded as a result of a Russian drone strike on Kherson at night, OVA head Oleksandr Prokudin reported. Three more people were injured as a result of enemy shelling of Oleksandrivka. Over the previous day, one person was killed and five were wounded in the region, including one child. Critical infrastructure facilities and an agricultural enterprise, two multi-story and 46 private houses, and gas pipelines were damaged.

08:29 In the Kiev region, a residential building caught fire at night as a result of falling drone debris, the State Emergency Service reported. The building was partially destroyed, no one was hurt.

08:18 In the morning, Russia attacked Kiev with drones again, said the head of the Kyiv State Air Defense Forces Sergey Popko. According to him, not a single drone reached its target. In total, more than 40 UAVs were shot down in the airspace of Kiev and on the approaches to the capital during two waves of attacks.

08:12 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of July 31:

  • personnel - about 578,120 (+1060) people,

  • tanks - 8390 (+9),

  • combat armored vehicles - 16,161 (+20),

  • artillery systems - 16,086 (+30),

  • MLRS - 1131 (+1),

  • air defense systems - 907 (+1),

  • aircraft - 363 (+0),

  • helicopters - 326 (+0),

  • Operational-tactical level UAVs - 12,853 (+21),

  • cruise missiles - 2407 (+1),

  • ships/boats - 28 (+0),

  • submarines - 1 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tank trucks - 21,739 (+52),

  • special equipment - 2697 (+1).

07:45 The Russian Defense Ministry announced that a Neptun-MD guided missile was destroyed over the Kursk Region at night. In addition, air defense systems allegedly intercepted and destroyed 11 UAVs over the Belgorod Region, four over the Bryansk Region, one each over the Kursk, Kaluga, Rostov Regions, and Crimea. Kursk Region Governor Alexey Smirnov announced a fire "at one of the facilities" that started after a drone attack. Publics write that the fire was accompanied by explosions.

06:28 At night, Russia carried out the most massive attack on Kiev in 2024 in terms of the number of attack drones, said the head of the Kyiv State Military Aviation Service, Serhiy Popko. According to him, more than 30 drones were destroyed in the capital's airspace and on the approaches. The air raid alarm lasted for more than seven hours. UAVs approached Kiev in waves and "from almost all possible directions," Popko added. At the moment, there are no casualties or damage in Kiev.

00:27 The United States cannot guarantee Ukraine's success in its confrontation with Russia alone, said Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien. In this regard, according to him, NATO is beginning to develop a new strategy towards the Russian Federation. "This will unite all allies in further interaction with Russia," O'Brien said. According to the diplomat, all members of the Alliance agree that "China is a decisive supporter" of Russia in the war in Ukraine.

Chechen leader Kadyrov speaks out against wearing burqa
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

The Clown Prince of Chechnya speaks.

[Regnum] On July 31, at a meeting with the government of the republic, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, spoke out against wearing the burqa.

Kadyrov published a video recording with fragments of the meeting on his Telegram channel.

"We are against the burqa, which covers the face. We are against this," said the head of Chechnya.

At the same time, Kadyrov criticized those demanding a ban on the hijab and called them his personal enemies.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 3, the Muftiate of Dagestan temporarily banned the wearing of niqabs in the region. The ban will remain in effect until the identified threats are eliminated and a new theological opinion is issued.

The Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus noted that in Russia, under modern conditions, wearing the niqab, burqa and other headdresses that conceal the face is harmful to Muslims and also threatens discord in interreligious and interethnic relations.

The Supreme Mufti of Russia and Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims Talgat Tadzhuddin previously stated that the majority of Russian Muslims do not have an obligation for women to cover their faces and hands. According to him, the Muslims of the North Caucasus are an exception, but this issue can be resolved by law in connection with the terrorist threat and ensuring state security. The Mufti recalled that there was no niqab in the country for 14 centuries.

The wealthy sanctuary state [Taxachusetts] that's going broke under its $1.8 trillion migrant 'time bomb'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] It's one of the wealthiest states in America, with residents of its fanciest zip code luxuriating in $3 million red-brick apartments.

But the writing is on the wall for Massachusetts, says an alarming new study.

The 50,000 non-legal migrants colonists who've entered the state since Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant....

Jessica Vaughan, author of the report for the Center for Immigration Studies, says the state is destined for bankruptcy.

That's because migrants colonists will drain state coffers of a staggering $1.8 billion over the next two years.

#8  NN2N1 it's already happening here in east Tennessee. They are buying up property sight unseen and paying more than asking price thereby pricing locals out of the market. I bought my 1200 square foot house built in 1930 with 5.5 acres of land in 2009 for 135000. No according to the realtor I used I could easily get 300 grand.

#9  Bay area liberals have been doing this in interior Northern California for the past five+ years. We moved back into the actual United States again to lovely Northern Nevada. The AWFL's are relentless and blind to what they are ruining, but live well enough to be mostly insulated to the rot they create. Worst of all, it is in the schools they do the most damage!

#10  Stumbled across a little bit of NPR pissing kittens about this. Basically they were saying Boston is super-saturated, and are putting a rationing system on their illegal migrant centers, can only stay what three days? in a shelter before they have to move out, with some exceptions.

I'm going to guess that the illegal migrants will try to rotate about to score that 72 hours of shelter at a new location. Of course, this new location should be first come first serve, so like a busy nightclub there will be lines and camping.

Two problems with this. It has been my experience a line like this stokes arguements among the line goers with different cultural groups and if there is line jumping, oh boy. Second, as shelter becomes premium real estate, booting those whose time is up becomes more difficult.

They have a real mess on their hands, especially as more illegal migrants continue to enter the Boston market and increase demand, bless their hearts.
