Cuomo harassed, touched many women inappropiately, and investigated some of the women to try to get dirt on them (for the purpose of blackmail to shut them up?). Napolitano stroked some guy's arm on the elevator and loses his job (creepy but nothing of the magnitude of Cuomo). Trump supposedly say you gotta grab women by the coochie in a private conversation (locker room talk years ago) and his campaign is nearly derailed.
[HotAir] - This seems unusual for a country that has bragged about its vaccines and effectiveness in corralling COVID-19. The Associated Press reports that the Delta variant has now created outbreaks in half of China’s provinces and in 35 cities. As a result, Beijing has once again imposed shutdowns and mandatory testing regimes:
China suspended flights and trains, canceled professional basketball league games and announced mass coronavirus testing in Wuhan on Tuesday as widening outbreaks of the delta variant reached the city where the disease was first detected in late 2019.
While the total number of cases is still in the hundreds, they are far more widespread than anything China has dealt with since the initial outbreak that devastated Wuhan in early 2020 and over time spread to the rest of the country and the world.
...How seriously should we take China’s reported-cases claims? If all they’re seeing is a caseload in the hundreds, they shouldn’t need this kind of wide and economically damaging response. Their totalitarian surveillance state should make contact tracing relatively easy, and containment of a few hundred cases across such a wide field shouldn’t be impossible without these kinds of broad actions.
...China has insisted that it has succeeded in vaccinating wide swaths of the country. As of yesterday, China’s national health commission claimed it had administered almost 1.7 billion doses to its populace, enough to fully vaccinate nearly 900 million people in a population of 1.4 billion, which amounts to 64.3% — nearly enough to achieve herd immunity.
But immunity is the question. China’s using its own vaccines in this effort, at the same time that they’re exporting them to other countries in an effort to deploy "vaccine diplomacy."
...We already know from data in other countries — notably Chile, whose inoculation rate with China’s vaccines equals China’s own — that the Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines are not effective. Whereas Western vaccines ARE effective. This gives the West an advantage - one that China attempts to mitigate through vaccine disinformation disseminated by paid agents and amplified by useful idiots.

[YNet] - Gunshots were fired Tuesday morning near the entrance of the Pentagon, resulting in multiple injuries. The facility, the headquarters of the U.S. military, was temporarily placed on lockdown.
The Arlington County Fire Department reported "multiple patients," but it wasn't immediately clear if they had been shot and the extent of their injuries were unknown.
A police officer was among those injured, according to two law enforcement officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly.

[ZH] (update-11:22AM eastern): Statements from Iranian state sources are saying a foreign tanker has struck a mine in the Persian Gulf.
While few details are as yet known or confirmed, international maritime aerial patrols are said to be en route to observe the vessel or vessels directly, possibly including US aircraft in the region.
Final update of the day at 9:03 p.m. for the record. May the Iranians soon be slapped down for their effrontery.
(update-6:37PM eastern): The US State Department late in the day has said it is aware of reports that the Panama-flagged Asphalt Princess has been hijacked by multiple heavily armed militants.
The ship is reportedly headed for Iranian waters, after multiple reports pointed the finger at an Iranian forces hijack incident in progress, though details have still remained murky and unconfirmed as the ship continues to move.
Iran has meanwhile issued a formal denial that it's forces are behind Tuesday's events off the coast of UAE, as Bloomberg reports:
Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, denied reports that Iran’s forces boarded moving ships in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman and warned against "rumors and the fake news of Western and Zionist media," according to the semi-official Tasnim news.
Earlier he called the incident “utterly suspicious” and said Iran was prepared to provide assistance to any ships in distress in the area and help with efforts to investigate the event.
Late in the day there are new reports that the US Navy is sending a vessel to the vicinity as part of the continuing investigation of the fluid situation.

Zero Hedge has updated several times since Frank G posted the article — good job Frank G, and Mullah Richard and Matt for being on top of this for us. ZH’s latest:
(update-12:50PM eastern): A flurry of bizarre and unconfirmed reports are coming out of the Gulf waters where one or more foreign vessels are believed seized by the Iranians, however, which Tehran is denying, calling the reports "suspicious". Britain's Sky News reports:
A group of eight or nine armed individuals are believed to have boarded the vessel, named Asphalt Princess, the security source told Sky News.
"It was an unauthorised boarding in the Gulf of Oman," the security source said. There is no British link to the tanker.
It comes as the Associated Press reported that at least four vessels sent out warnings saying they had lost control of their steering.
[Breitbart] The U.S. military on Sunday confirmed its third airstrike against al-Shabaab militants in Somalia in less than two weeks, stepping up the tempo of strikes against the al-Qaeda-linked extremists even as American involvement in Afghanistan comes to a close.
U.S. officials said Sunday’s strike was conducted in support of Somali government forces fighting al-Shabaab in the country’s central Galmudug state. The U.S. launched airstrikes in the same region on July 20 and 23, marking the first strikes in Somalia during the Biden administration.
“This is another major blow to al-Shabaab’s means to wage war against the Somali people. The airstrikes destroyed a large al-Shabaab firing position engaging Danab and SNA forces as they approached,” the Somali Ministry of Information stated.
“These operations limit al-Shabaab’s ability to kill and terrorize the Somali people,” the ministry continued. “More and more al-Shabaab fighters are leaving the terrorist organization that is losing to the Danab and SNA, and are defecting to the Somal Security Forces, where they have been welcomed and treated with dignity.”
The SNA is the Somali National Army, while the Danab Brigade is an elite force of Somali commandos trained by the United States.
Somali media favorable to al-Shabaab claimed the U.S. strike had no significant impact and fighters from the group remain active in the area that was attacked.
The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) revealed Monday that its top commander, Gen. Stephen Townsend, visited Somalia last week and met with the Danab Brigade. AFRICOM did not explain why Townsend made the somewhat risky visit to Danab headquarters at the Baledogle Military Airfield.
The Danab Brigade is a crucial element of the SNA’s response to al-Shabaab terrorism. Although there are reportedly only about 700 Danab commandos based at Baledogle, the elite troops are involved in the majority of operations against al-Shabaab.

Double-blind study shows ivermectin reduces disease’s duration and infectiousness • FDA and WHO caution against its use
Ivermectin, a drug used to fight parasites in third-world countries, could help reduce the length of infection for people who contract coronavirus for less than a $1 a day, according to recent research by Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer.
Prof. Eli Schwartz, founder of the Center for Travel Medicine and Tropical Disease at Sheba, conducted a randomized, controlled, double-blinded trial from May 15, 2020, through the end of January 2021 to evaluate the effectiveness of ivermectin in reducing viral shedding among nonhospitalized patients with mild to moderate COVID-19.
Ivermectin has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration since 1987. The drug’s discoverers were awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in medicine for its treatment of onchocerciasis, a disease caused by infection with a parasitic roundworm.
Over the years, it has been used for other indications, including scabies and head lice. Moreover, in the last decade, several clinical studies have started to show its antiviral activity against viruses ranging from HIV and the flu to Zika and West Nile.
The drug is also extremely economical. A study published in the peer-reviewed American Journal of Therapeutics showed that the cost of ivermectin for other treatments in Bangladesh is around $0.60 to $1.80 for a five-day course. It costs up to $10 a day in Israel, Schwartz said.
In Schwartz’s study, some 89 eligible volunteers over the age of 18 who were diagnosed with coronavirus and staying in state-run COVID-19 hotels were divided into two groups: 50% received ivermectin, and 50% received a placebo, according to their weight. They were given the pills for three days in a row, an hour before a meal.
The volunteers were tested using a standard nasopharyngeal swab PCR test with the goal of evaluating whether there was a reduction in viral load by the sixth day — the third day after termination of the treatment. They were swabbed every two days.
Nearly 72% of volunteers treated with ivermectin tested negative for the virus by day six. In contrast, only 50% of those who received the placebo tested negative.
IN ADDITION, the study looked at culture viability, meaning how infectious the patients were, and found that only 13% of ivermectin patients were infectious after six days, compared with 50% of the placebo group — almost four times as many.
"Our study shows first and foremost that ivermectin has antiviral activity," Schwartz said. "It also shows that there is almost a 100% chance that a person will be noninfectious in four to six days, which could lead to shortening isolation time for these people. This could have a huge economic and social impact."
The study appeared on the MedRxiv health-research sharing site. It has not yet been peer reviewed.
Schwartz said other similar studies — though not all of them conducted to the same double-blind and placebo standards as his — also showed a favorable impact of ivermectin treatment.
His study did not prove ivermectin was effective as a prophylactic, meaning that it could prevent disease, he cautioned, nor did it show that it reduces the chances of hospitalization. However, other studies have shown such evidence, he added.
For example, the study published earlier this year in the American Journal of Therapeutics highlighted that "a review by the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance summarized findings from 27 studies on the effects of ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 infection, concluding that ivermectin ’demonstrates a strong signal of therapeutic efficacy’ against COVID-19."
"Another recent review found that ivermectin reduced deaths by 75%," the report said.
BUT IVERMECTIN is not without controversy, and hence, despite the high levels of coronavirus worldwide, neither the FDA nor the World Health Organization have been willing to approve it for use in the fight against the virus.
Prof. Ya’acov Nahmias, a Hebrew University of Jerusalem researcher, has questioned the safety of the drug.
"Ivermectin is a chemical therapeutic agent, and it has significant risks associated with it," he said in a previous interview. "We should be very cautious about using this type of medication to treat a viral disease that the vast majority of the public is going to recover from even without this treatment."
During Schwartz’s study, there was not any signal of significant side effects among ivermectin users.
Only five patients were referred to hospitals, with four of them being in the placebo arm. One ivermectin patient went to the hospital complaining of shortness of breath on the day of recruitment. He continued with the ivermectin treatment and was sent back to the hotel a day later in good condition.
The FDA said on its website it "received multiple reports of patients who have required medical support and been hospitalized after self-medicating with ivermectin."
The "FDA has not approved ivermectin for use in treating or preventing COVID-19 in humans," it said. "Ivermectin tablets are approved at very specific doses for some parasitic worms, and there are topical (on the skin) formulations for head lice and skin conditions like rosacea. Ivermectin is not an antiviral (a drug for treating viruses). Taking large doses of this drug is dangerous and can cause serious harm."
The World Health Organization has also recommended against using the drug except in clinical trials.
IN CONTRAST, Schwartz said he was very disappointed that the WHO did not support any trial to determine whether the drug could be viable.
Last month, Oxford University announced a large trial on ivermectin effectiveness.
Schwartz said he became interested in exploring ivermectin about a year ago, "when everyone was looking for a new drug" to treat COVID-19, and a lot of effort was being put into evaluating hydroxychloroquine, so he decided to join the effort.
"Since ivermectin was on my shelf, since we are using it for tropical diseases, and there were hints it might work, I decided to go for it," he said.
Researchers in other places worldwide began looking into the drug at around the same time. But when they started to see positive results, no one wanted to publish them, Schwartz said.
"There is a lot of opposition," he said. "We tried to publish it, and it was kicked away by three journals. No one even wanted to hear about it. You have to ask how come when the world is suffering."
"This drug will not bring any big economic profits," and so Big Pharma doesn’t want to deal with it, he said.
SOME OF the loudest opposition to ivermectin has come from Merck Co., which manufactured the drug in the 1980s. In a public statement about ivermectin on its website in February, it said: "Company scientists continue to carefully examine the findings of all available and emerging studies of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19 for evidence of efficacy and safety. It is important to note that, to date, our analysis has identified no scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against COVID-19 from pre-clinical studies; no meaningful evidence for clinical activity or clinical efficacy in patients with COVID-19 disease, and a concerning lack of safety data in the majority of studies."
But Merck has not launched any studies of its own on ivermectin.
"You would think Merck would be happy to hear that ivermectin might be helpful to corona patients and try to study it, but they are most loudly declaring the drug should not be used," Schwartz said. "A billion people took it. They gave it to them. It’s a real shame."
And not moving forward with ivermectin could potentially extend the time it takes for the world to be able to live alongside the virus, he said.
"Developing new medications can take years; therefore, identifying existing drugs that can be re-purposed against COVID-19 [and] that already have an established safety profile through decades of use could play a critical role in suppressing or even ending the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic," wrote the researchers in the American Journal of Therapeutics. "Using re-purposed medications may be especially important because it could take months, possibly years, for much of the world’s population to get vaccinated, particularly among low- to middle-income populations."

Drug patents are good for 20 years after the drug's invention. Thus I would imagine that Merck is disinterested in invermecting because there is little money to be made off it.

In Schwartz’s study, some 89 eligible volunteers over the age of 18 who were diagnosed with coronavirus and staying in state-run COVID-19 hotels were divided into two groups: 50% received ivermectin, and 50% received a placebo, according to their weight.
So nobody with a symptomatic form (actually ill).
Nearly 72% of volunteers treated with ivermectin tested negative for the virus by day six. In contrast, only 50% of those who received the placebo tested negative.
To summarize. If you're tested positive but have no symptoms your chances of testing negative six day later are 44% better if you take ivermectin. A cure indeed.

It’s a small study that suggests ivermectin can help prevent a small problem from becoming a big one — and no doubt, like aspirin, this has many applications. A study of the same design with 1,000 or 5,000 for each group would be taken more seriously.
The FDA, on the other hand, has become exponentially risk averse since I did work they paid attention to, back in the 1980s. And that is even without corrupt creatures like Anthony Fauci arranging profitable relationships for themselves with certain drug manufacturers.
On the gripping hand, the FDA happily approved a prescription medication that reduces the misery of influenza by a few days, so it seems reasonable that they would approve ivermectin for that a similarly small effect, were it not for the politics and profit problems one segment of the scientific community has created for itself.

Also for comparison purposes... hallucinogens and psychotropic medications that can cause mania and schizophrenia are now legal without a prescription, uh, "decriminalized" in California.
But depending on the jurisdiction you can get your license pulled for prescribing Ivermectin-for-humans.
[IsraelTimes] IDF says suspects caught and questioned in two incidents overnight at southern border fence.
Four Paleostinians, three of them armed with knives, were detained by Israel Defense Force soldiers after infiltrating into southern Israel overnight from the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip, the military said Monday morning.
In a first incident, a suspect armed with a knife and carrying bolt cutters crossed into Israel from the Gaza Strip through the southern section of the border fence, according to the IDF.
The suspect was detained and taken for questioning.
Later, in the early hours of Monday morning, three suspects — two of them carrying knives — were detained by soldiers in the same area after also entering Israel from Gaza, according to the IDF.
The army said the second group was questioned at the scene, but did not say if they were taken into custody or had been returned to the Strip.
It was not clarified if the army believed the two incidents were linked.
While Israel has a high-tech series of fences and walls guarding its frontier with Gaza, both above and below ground, a number of gaps remain in the steel fencing surrounding the Strip.
In times of low visibility, these gaps have been used by Paleostinians in Gaza to illegally enter Israeli territory, often with hopes of fleeing the beleaguered enclave.
[IsraelTimes] The Supreme Court ...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations... of Justice has floated a compromise that would push off the pending evictions of four Paleostinian families from East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
According to the Haaretz daily, the compromise would allow the Paleostinian families to continue living in the homes for another 20 years, during which they will have to pay some rent to the Jewish trusts that owned the land before Israel’s establishment in 1948 and petitioned for the houses’ return.
A representative for the trusts says he opposes the proposal and calls for the Paleostinians to recognize Jewish ownership over the homes. The Paleostinians agree to the proposal but refuse to recognize Jewish ownership over them.

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady human sacrifice days of Baal Moloch. In 2020 Hezbollahblew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate faci8lity exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. [IsraelTimes] An Arab Israeli man was seriously maimed Monday after being shot by Israeli troops near the security fence in the northern West Bank.
The Israel Defense Forces said 34-year-old Tawfiq Agbaria and another suspect were trying to cut through the fence from the West Bank side when they were fired on. The other suspect was arrested.
The army said Agbaria was hit by a bullet in his lower body, and fled from the Israeli forces. He reached Umm al-Fahm,
...the Galilee home base of the outlawed militant Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement, the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel...
where he lives, and sought medical treatment, according to the military.
Agbaria’s family, however, denied the IDF’s claims, charging that he was shot without warning.
"The IDF is lying, there is no fence to cut," the family told the Ynet news site.
"Anyone can move freely there. Tawfiq had no bad intentions, they just shot him for no reason," the family said.
Agbaria was hospitalized at death's door in the Hillel Yaffe hospital in the Israeli coastal city of Hadera.
[Garowe] al-Shabaab ...... the personification of Somali state failure... snuffies killed three Kenyans over the weekend in two separate terror attacks in northeastern Kenya's Mandera County, authorities confirmed on Monday.
Rono Bunei, northeastern regional police commander, confirmed the two incidents near the Somalia border, saying three others were maimed during the attacks.
In the first attack, the snuffies ambushed three people who were traveling in a vehicle from Fino to Mandera Town at Kamor Bahaw area on Saturday, firing several bullets at their car.
The attack, according to police and locals, left a sick woman who was being taken to the hospital dead, while two others sustained injuries.
Hours later, the snuffies opened fire on another vehicle at the outskirts of Fino, killing a man and his son on the spot.
This is the latest such attack after a lull over the past few days. The attacks had in June grounded operations in the county as most roads were rendered impassable.
Kenya's northeastern region has borne the brunt of grenade and gun attacks in the last several years since Kenya took its troops to Somalia in 2011 to fight the al-Shabaab.
But Kenya says the deployment of its troops in the southern regions of Somalia has so far helped to prevent the movement of explosives, counterfeit electronics, and contraband sugar smuggling across the border.
[AlAhram] The Egyptian foreign ministry issued on Monday the country’s 2021 national report on combating terrorism.
The report, which was compiled in coordination with other ministries and state bodies, reviews the state's policies and practices in combating terrorism and holy warrior ideology, according to the ministry.
Mohammed Fouad, director of the foreign ministry’s international counterterrorism unit, said the report also discusses the legislations passed to combat terrorism in a way that is consistent with Egypt's relevant international obligations.
The report also presents the pioneering Egyptian experience in raising people’s awareness and the prevention of holy warrior ideology, Fouad said, highlighting the 2014 initiative launched by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to reform religious discourse.
This is the second issue of the annual report. It is currently available at the Egyptian foreign ministry's blog in Arabic.

Yes, we know, but it’s nice that the inquest and Iran Press TV have made it official.
[Iran Press TV] In what appears to be yet another failure by the UK security apparatus to stop a terror attack, it has been revealed that the convicted terrorist who stabbed two people in Streatham in early 2020 had been released from prison just days before the attack.
To make matters worse, convicted terrorist Sudesh Amman, had been released early from prison despite concerns he "retained Death Eater views".
An inquest into Amman’s death has heard that counter-terrorism police had asked the prison governor not to release him on the grounds of security concerns.
Amman, 20, was rubbed out by surveillance officers after carrying out the attack in Streatham High Road, South London, on February 02, 2020.
Before he was rubbed out Amman was able to stab a man and a woman, both of whom survived their injuries.
According to the coroner, Mr Justice Hilliard, Amman was arrested in May 2018 on suspicion of terrorism-related offenses and was later convicted and imprisoned for 40 months.
He served his sentence at HMP Belmarsh but was released early on January 23, 2020.
Counter-terrorism police were determined to prevent his release as Amman had reportedly indicated his intention to launch a terrorist attack once he was freed.
However, by candlelight every wench is handsome... the governor of HMP Belmarsh refused the police’s request to keep Amman in detention as the offence he was convicted for could not justify an extension of his sentence.
Detective Superintendent Dominic Murphy told the inquest that a search of Amman’s prison cell had found "hand-written notes" that "appeared to show loyalty" to the Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... terrorist group ISIS.
Upon his release from prison, Amman was required to live at a probation hostel in Streatham and was electronically tagged and kept under curfew.
He was kept under close surveillance by at least four undercover counter-terrorism coppers whenever he exited the hostel but these measures failed to stop the terrorist attack.
[WASHINGTONTIMES] The Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft ...knaves, footpads, and adjusters employed by the Biden Crime Family. They leave a trail of havoc everywhere they turn their attention, be it the nation's borders, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or epidemics, sometimes on purpose, most times through sheer arrogant ineptitude. They learnt this stuff in college, you know... on Monday expanded its efforts to evacuate at-risk Afghan citizens from Afghanistan as Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... violence increases ahead there of the U.S. military pullout at the end of the month.
The State Department said it is widening the scope of Afghans eligible for refugee status in the United States to include current and former employees of U.S.-based news organizations, U.S.-based aid and development agencies and other relief groups that receive U.S. funding. Current and former employees of the U.S. government and the NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure.... military operation who don’t meet the criteria for a dedicated program for such workers are also covered.
The State Department said the move will mean that "many thousands" of Afghans and their immediate families will now have the opportunity to be permanently resettled in the U.S. as refugees. It did not offer a more specific number of those who might be eligible for the program.
The creation of a "Priority 2" category for Afghans within the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program is intended for Afghans and their immediate families who "may be at risk due to their U.S. affiliation" but aren’t able to get a Special Immigrant Visa because they did not work directly for the U.S. government or didn’t hold their government jobs long enough.
To qualify for the Priority 2 category, Afghans must be nominated by a U.S. government agency or by the most senior civilian U.S. citizen employee of a U.S-based media outlet or nongovernmental organization.
Afghans who do not meet the minimum time-in-service for a SIV but who work or worked as employees of contractors, locally-employed staff, interpreters/translators for the US Government, United States Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A), International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), or Resolute Support;
Afghans who work or worked for a US government-funded program or project in Afghanistan supported through a US government grant or cooperative agreement;
Afghans who are or were employed in Afghanistan by a US-based media organization or non-governmental organization.
Afghans and their eligible family members (spouse and children of any age, whether married or unmarried) can be referred to the P-2 program by a US government agency. For non-governmental organizations (NGO) and media organizations that were not funded by the US government, but are headquartered in the United States, the senior-most US citizen employee of that organization may make a referral.
P-2 Program for Afghan Nationals:
The Department of State has designated certain categories of Afghan nationals as having access to the USRAP by virtue of their circumstances and apparent need for resettlement.
To manage the P-2 program for Afghan nationals, the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) created a USRAP Afghan Referrals Workgroup comprised of federal agencies to refer individuals directly to the USRAP.
If an individual is not eligible for the P-2 program, he or she may be eligible for the Priority 1 (P-1) program by virtue of their circumstances and apparent need for resettlement. Individuals may be referred to the P-1 program by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), a US Embassy, or a designated NGO.

I have an idea. How about airlifting the taliban out, taking them to DC? You won't have to accommodate quite so many, and they'll fit right in these days.

It is bad manners to criticize people's grammar on the interwebs, but they mean "moves its air defense system to Bushehr". Hey, isn't there a nuke plant in Bushehr? Coincidence, I'm sure. However, my Inner War Nerd thinks it would be cool see the vaunted S-300 in action. If somewho would happen to launch an airstrike, I mean.

...That sound the US team hears in the distance is the sound of their endorsements drifting off into the void.
This may well be the worst soccer team we've sent to the Olympics in decades, and I have not the slightest sympathy nor comfort for them. They spent their time practicing protests instead of penalty kicks, and preening about with raised fists and wokeness instead of drills. As Chris said, let them fall into obscurity - there is no worse or more fitting sanction for what they've done.

Thank you President Trump currently in exile.

I have to seriously ask something many likely are wondering.
Is this best the USA has to offer? Or were they pick for their Far Left Leanings and Anti-USA political agenda ?
[SHAFAQ] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... ’s Interior Minister, Suleyman Soylu, said that it is early to accuse the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) of the fire in the Ottoman Turkish forests
The Minister added, "A special committee has been formed to investigate the fires. We have received 270 requests about this, and we are checking each of them. Intelligence is also working in this field...But we cannot make statements now... There are detainees and the investigation is still ongoing."
He indicated that the fires might be caused by sabotage, negligence, or terrorist act.
He said, "The PKK has been engaged in economic sabotage for about three years, including breaking out fires in forests, but we are not sure of being behind the latest incidents..."
Earlier, the pro-government Ottoman Turkish newspaper, Yeni Safak, reported that the PKK’s Sons of Fire group bears responsibility for setting fires to the country's forests.
Since Wednesday thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes. Locals, as well as support teams from Russia, Ukraine, Iran, and Azerbaijan, were deployed to help firefighters. The Ottoman Turkish government pledged to rebuild damaged homes and compensate for losses in areas affected by the fires.

For crying out loud, these lefties despite their claims to being environmentalists sure do destroy a lot of trees. Does anybody read these bills. Must have a tremendous amount of pork in it. Ima thinking the American people are getting hosed once again--the devil is in the details.
#3
Instead of these crazy bills, let's just give each member of Congress $10,000,000 to spend as they see fit. They could help their constituents, they could blow it all on booze and broads, invade Somalia, whatever. No questions asked. It would be a lot cheaper than the infrastructure bill and would accomplish the same purpose.

Make it $10,000,000,000. and the US taxpayer would still come out ahead by a very substantial margin.
It requires specific language to make sure statutes are modified to allow port barrel projects and then to define the pork barrel project.
and 'infrastructure' is just a name for 'anything some rep wants funded' so it includes all manner of projects, not just highways and rail and transit

#5 No, it doesn't include the regulations. As of 2014, the latest year I could find on quick review, the Code of Federal Regulations has over 175,000 pages. So another 10,000 pages or so won't really matter. It's almost like they were trying to discourage people from knowing what the law is.

I agree w Matt on this.
The legislation passed frequently establishes or modifies, the U.S.Code. There are 50+ titles of the USC, some of these are thousands of pages long.
Sometimes a federal agency will adopt USC language verbatim in the CFR, sometimes it will create additional language. In fact frequently, the USC language will require the Secretary of some department to promulgate regulations to execute the USC

In fact I suspect actual 'infrastructure' expenditures are only a minor part of the bill. the bulk of it is pork projects, studies for things like "how fast Ketchup flows down an incline'. Not to mention Planned child sacrifices parenthood, NAACP, New Socialist Green Deal, etc... All hidden in the bowels of this 2700 page monstrosity.
And the will be given only a few hours to read the entire thing.
[Real Clear Defense] As of last week, the U.S. House's Appropriations Committee intends to cut funding for Guam's missile defenses, even as it approves a funding increase for the Missile Defense Agency. This demonstrates a deep degree of strategic confusion and threatens to undermine deterrence in an increasingly unstable Western Pacific. U.S. military ports, airfields, and logistics facilities are essential to America's existence as the dominant Pacific power. Their effective defense requires a far more advanced command and control system than currently exists. It demands more—not less—funding—and U.S. policymakers should understand why.
The U.S.' competition with China is primarily political-strategic, not an economic, diplomatic, or ideological contest. The CCP has employed every element of national power at its disposal to gain an advantage, joining major international organizations like the WHO and co-opting them to bully China's rivals, stealing technology to increase Chinese productivity at America's expense, using coercive economic inducements to expand its influence in Central Asia, the Near East, Africa, and Southeastern Europe, and wielding the Party-State's media complex to propagate anti-Western ideological narratives. But each of these actions is meant to bolster Chinese military power and facilitate the CCP’s strategic objectives.
China cannot simply await economic primacy. As of the 18th National Congress in 2012, during which Xi Jinping ascended to paramount leadership, the CCP's leaders have recognized the dangers of hoping to accrue economic power and "outbuild" the United States. The liberalization that sparked Chinese economic growth from the 1980s to the 2010s did create the foundation for contemporary Chinese power.
But it also created separate influence spheres, those "corrupt" Party officials and their friends throughout the Chinese economy that Xi Jinping has purged throughout his near-decade in power. State-directed development — and we must be clear, the Chinese "socialist market economy" is an oligarchic hybrid system with major elements of central planning — contains inherent inefficiencies. And it remains an open question as to whether it will be able to deliver the rising living standards that the Chinese people accepted in exchange for the post-Mao CCP’s continued rule. Xi clearly doubts its ability to do so. Hence his accelerating internal consolidation and international aggression, first prosecuting a genocide against Muslims in Xinjiang, then staging a de facto coup in Hong Kong, and increasingly preparing for an invasion of Taiwan.
The United States is the greatest impediment to China’s strategic ambitions. Subduing Taiwan, while the first step in Chinese military strategy, is not enough. The PLA must then pressure the U.S.' Pacific allies, most likely the Philippines, Japan, and, if possible, Australia, and ideally forcing a confrontation under cover of the PLA's ground-launched anti-ship missiles. If the CCP can fracture the U.S.' regional alliance system, the U.S. will be forced to conduct an extended blockade 9,000 miles from its coastline with few to no regional bases. By contrast, if U.S. power remains relevant in the Pacific, and if its formal allies commit to confronting China alongside it, the PLA faces a much less favorable balance of forces, even if it can neutralize Taiwan with negligible air and naval losses.

He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. He was being asked about a pending ruling by the regime’s so-called supreme court about an incendiary decision to force four Paleostinian families from the neighborhood.
The ruling was initially expected in May, but the prospect of the expulsions gave rise to raging protests throughout the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where al-Quds is located.
The rallies spilled over across the entire Paleostinian territories, and prompted numerous world leaders to issue condemnatory statements addressed to the regime and urge it to exercise restraint.

[ToloNews] Uzbek military forces crossed the Tajik border on Monday, to take part in joint Russian-Tajik-Uzbek drills close to the territory of Afghanistan, Rooters reported.
The military exercises are to take place from August 5 to August 10 according to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Defense.
Moscow said it would send a much bigger military contingent to Tajikistan for trilateral exercises amid fears in both countries over a worsening security situation in Afghanistan that could spill over into Central Asia.
Security has rapidly deteriorated in Afghanistan amid the US troop withdrawal. Moscow fears that could destabilize its southern defensive flank and push refugees into its Central Asian backyard.
On Monday, Russia's defense ministry said that 1,800 of its soldiers would take part in the Tajik drills, instead of 1,000 as initially planned. More than 2,500 troops would be involved in total, it said.
Moscow will also use 420 units of military hardware for the drills, double the quantity originally planned, it said.

It is the fourth gang to be arrested in the Kurdistan Region for trying to deceive citizens by selling them Libyan dollars, according to Erbil police front man, Colonel Hoker Aziz.
Aziz said told Shafaq News Agency, "those who were arrested today confessed to taking 30,000 US dollars and two cars that belong to some citizens."
He added that this gang was taking money by force of arms, and its members confessed to committing four cases within one month, noting that one of the detainees was arrested for the third time on the same charge.
The Erbil police front man called on the citizens who were defrauded to submit a complaint against the perpetrators and not to believe what is rumored about the Libyan dollar trade in the Kurdistan Region.
The Libyan dollar, is a counterfeit currency, but the fraudsters claim that it is from the frozen funds belonging to the regime of former Libyan President Muammar Qadaffy ...a proud Arab institution for 42 years, now among the dear departed, though not the dearest... .

Sources familiar with the process had said that youths have dramatically been indifferent to join especially the infantry units of the national army due to the skyrocketed rise in the Taliban offensive.

[NATION.PK] Over the past two decades, Pakistain’s legal system has faced consistent criticism with regards to outdated criminal justice laws and the lack of convictions that result from our porous system of justice. This criticism, which also featured in the recent evaluation of Pakistain’s performance in the FATF, requires deliberate focus and reform by the State of Pakistain.
In particular, the debate concerning reform of criminal justice laws—and in particular anti-terrorism laws—stems from recognition of two specific issues relating to prosecution of terrorist suspects: 1) allegedly, the law enforcement agencies are unable to apprehend, detain and investigate terrorist suspects and 2) even when such terrorist suspects are brought before a court of law, no conviction takes place owing to lack of sufficient evidence, or due to improper investigation.
The first of these two issues—apprehension, detention and investigation of the suspects—is mostly operational in nature, dealing less with legislative provisions and more with the capacity and operational expertise of the law enforcement and intelligence agencies. And consequently, improvement of this issue requires a long-term strategy that encompasses training and capacity building of our law enforcement establishment. The second of the two issues—prosecution of suspects in a manner that results in meaningful convictions—squarely falls within the four corners of legislative reform, along with its interpretation and implementation.

[National Pulse] An Asia Society effort — advised by several Chinese Communist Party-linked individuals — has partnered with schools across the U.S. to shape curricula and teaching faculty to become consistent with a "social justice" approach to education that encourages "teaching activism" in favor of left-wing causes such as "equity," "globalism," and "unraveling systemic racism."
Based in the U.S., the Asia Society describes its mission as "preparing Asians and Americans for a shared future" and is favored by current and former high-level Chinese Communist Party officials.
The group’s Center For Global Education outlines its mission as "transforming education to build a more just and equal society" and partners with schools and school districts throughout the U.S. to do so. The center is expected to reach 4,000,000 students and 100,000 educators through various partnerships including dictating curricula and establishing schools alongside the Department of Education in states such as Ohio and Colorado.
Serving on the center’s board, however, are several Chinese Communist Party apparatchiks. The co-chair of the effort, Yu Lizhong, is the former president of two Chinese Communist Party-run universities and has held leadership roles at several state-run groups:
The map below demonstrates the coast-to-coast reach of the program, which arose out of a 2015 agreement between Asia Society President and CEO Josette Sheeran and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Director-General Irina Bokova.
The United Nations and Chinese Communist Party-backed effort has led to the adoption of "social justice" teaching methods, as outlined in a 2018 curricula guide published by the Asia Society.
The document also reveals how this ideology has even permeated the hiring process for teachers, as Denver Center for International Studies (DCIS) principal Vanessa Acevedo admits to hiring people who are "committed to social justice and equity":

Thus far Saied's efforts to eliminate Islamist (Ennahda Party)actives from government is going well. It seems he surprised Ennahda and its leader Rachid Ghannouchi by his purposeful moves which are intended to return Tunisia to some sort of rational estate. I am waiting for the State Department to screw it up.
[Iran Press TV] Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money... says Kabul has a plan to restore stability in the country in six months despite the fast-deteriorating security situation."The current situation is due to a sudden decision on the withdrawal of the international troops," Ghani told the parliament in a speech he delivered on Monday, Afghanistan’s TOLO news agency reported.
Afghanistan has had "an unexpected situation" during the past three months, he said. "This aggression and war has been imposed on us."
Under a deal with the Taliban ...Arabic for students... , which was signed in 2020, the United States has pulled out most of its troops from Afghanistan.
Ghani said Afghans "have paid a high price for peace and showed great gentleness, but instead war was imposed on us." He was indirectly referring to the release of the 5,000 Taliban prisoners by the government as part of the grinding of the peace processor.
He also denounced that process as an "imported" and "hasty" one imposed on Kabul that had resulted in "legitimizing an Death Eater group instead of achieving peace."
However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... Ghani assured the Afghan nation that the situation would change in the next six months and the government would bring everything under control due to the security plan. "The army is defending strategic goals and the police are defending the cities."

"We have not the slightest reason to believe [that Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... was involved in the attack]," the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Second Asian Department Director, Zamir Kabulov told Russia’s Sputnik news agency on Monday.
In a statement on Friday, Zodiac Maritime, the Israeli-owned firm managing the tanker, said that two crewmen, a Briton and a Romanian, had been killed in the assault.
The Israeli regime and its sworn allies, the United States and the UK, rushed to accuse Iran of having a role in the incident, without providing any evidence. The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also alleged that the attack was deliberate and coordinated by Tehran.
Kabulov, however, reiterated Russia’s stance, saying Moscow’s refusal to corroborate such accusations was because "we have no facts."
"When there are facts, then we will work out our position," he added.

In all fairness they seem to be having a lot of trouble making technology function.
[ToloNews] Clashes entered the sixth day in the city of Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... on Monday specifically in districts 2, 3, 7 and 14 as well as in the southern parts of Herat’s capital near Injil district.
Herat is the second lovely provincial capital city along with Lashkargah where heavy festivities have been underway for the past few days.
"We have air support and the Taliban ...Arabic for students... ’s gatherings have been targeted in various parts of Herat city where they have sustained heavy casualties," said Herat governor Gen. Abdul Saboor Qani.
A former mujahedeen leader and senior member of the Jamaat-e-Islami ...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores... party, Mohammad Ismail Khan, who is leading public uprising forces in the fight against the Taliban, asked Heratis to mobilize against the Taliban and assured them that the city will be defended.
"It is an obligation to all men and women in Herat to save themselves from this force of ignorance," Khan said. "The Taliban has found more arrogance than in the past."
Some young men who recently joined the public uprising forces said they will not allow the Taliban to take over the city.
"Our homeland will be destroyed if we leave it to the Taliban," said Mohammad, a public uprising forces member. "We will not allow the Taliban to capture our country. They will be defeated."
"The imam of our mosque has joined the Taliban and is fighting against us," said Shahryar, a public uprising forces member.
Meanwhile, ...back at the cheese factory, there was only one thought in the mouse's mind: I can do this! I can do this! Then the trap sprung... three non-combatants were killed and 10 more were maimed in a kaboom in the city of Herat on Monday evening, health officials said.
According to security sources, the blast targeted a bus carrying civilians, and women are among the victims.
[NBC] A fourth law enforcement officer who defended the U.S. Capitol against the mob attack on Jan. 6 has died by suicide.
Officer Gunther Hashida was found dead in his home on Thursday, the Metropolitan Police Department confirmed. He served as an officer for more than 18 years, joining the department in 2003. Hashida was 43.
“We are grieving as a Department as our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Hashida’s family and friends,” an MPD spokesperson said in a statement.
Hours after that announcement, News4 confirmed 26-year-old Officer Kyle deFreytag died by suicide July 10. He also responded to defend the Capitol from rioters in January.
Hashida responded to the Capitol as rioters loyal to then-President Donald Trump stormed the building. He was assigned to the Special Operations Division’s emergency response team.
U.S. Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood died by suicide in the days after the insurrection. D.C. Officer Jeffrey Smith died by suicide later that month.

I believe this makes the 3rd officer to die by suicide, not the forth. The other was natural causes, IIRC.
Seems like a lot of suicides. Coincidence? Maybe. Suicide rate in the gen pop is 13 per 100,000. For cops, it's 17 per 100,000. Capitol Police force is about 2,000 strong.
17 suicides/100000 cops * 2000 cops = 0.34 persons. At 3 dead, they seem to be running a little hot.

Seth Rich, Epstein, Assange, Keystone XL pipeline, Fauci and Wuhan, the 2020 election, Hunter and the Biden crime family, BLM, illegals at the border, the Schutzstaffel FBI; everything having to do with this administration is wildly outside of any statistical norm, or the realm of reality. Can there be any doubt we are witnessing evil on an epic scale ?
#6
Pressure being applied to the ranks? Some still have a sense of integrity and can't reconcile carrying out what amounts to a gross abuse of authority but won't resign and lose that pension?
#9
Either they are seeing things that go against their conscious, or are about to speak about them and shoot themselves in the back of the head twice because they are so distraught.
The administration knows the media. They are friends of nobody, citizens of no nation and loyal to no single master.
Once the wokeness/libtardation begins to hurt the corporate world enough, they may want a swing to less chaotic times. Also, without a valid 'other' the media machine won't have enough charged fodder or issues. The 'insurrection' has not been milked enough, you see. So who knows they may one day give these voices a platform, people who may spill what orders were given, what exactly happened. Before that eventuality...

No, no, no, you people. Don't you see? It's Trump's fault. Orange man bad!

But, yes, it is a bit puzzling that we only hear from the snowflake cops who were so badly traumatized because, for once in their sweet little sinecures, they had to do some actual police work.

[KhaamaPress] Kabul-based US and UK embassies have cited the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) which has called the Taliban ...Arabic for students... ’s recent atrocities in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province as war crimes and violations of International law. "Nahhhhhh. It's our culture. It's who we are"
The embassies condemned the so-called retaliatory killings by the Taliban in Spin Boldak and asked for the culprits of the massacre to be held responsible.
A joint statement by the two embassies also reads that the leadership of the Taliban should be held responsible if they cannot control their fighters.
As per the report of AIHRC published on Saturday, the Taliban after capturing Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province massacred 40 former and current government officials to seek Dire Revenge. The number is alleged to be higher than given.
Based on the report, the body investigated and documented the case, referred to local sources to obtain reliable information, and also interviewed the families of victims and witnesses. At the end of the day, they deduced that the Taliban had committed retaliatory killings and also plundered the property of people.
The Taliban have purportedly killed those who contributed to ANDSF’s recapturing operations which failed.
The Taliban have repeatedly denied killing civilians or looting the properties of people but the AIHRC accused the fighters of doing so and blamed their leadership for not being influential over its rank-and-file.
The AIHRC calls on warring parties in Afghanistan to remain committed to International rights and refrain from retaliatory killings and destroying public facilities and properties.
A video circulating on social media shows Talibs killing an army commander after he is arrested by the group.
Specifically, the video shows the moment when Colonel Abdul Hamid Hamidi, the commander of the 1st Regiment of the Afghan Army’s 207 Zafar Corps in Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... , is taken captive. Security officials said the colonel was arrested with five of his soldiers and then he was shot and killed.
President Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money... , who attended a special session of the houses of Parliament on Monday said the Taliban ...Arabic for students... has become crueler compared to the past.
"Talib attacks are more violent mostly peaceful, more bloodthirsty and more oppressive," Ghani said.
Back in June, 23 members of an Afghan special force unit were executed by the Taliban in Faryab province after they surrendered to the group. Moreover, a famous comedian, Mohammad Khasha Zwan, was killed in Kandahar after he was taken captive by the group late last month.
[AOL] Laurel Hubbard, a transgender weightlifter from New Zealand, was knocked out of the women’s 87+ kilogram competition early after failing on all three of her attempts.
Hubbard failed on her first attempt to get 120-kg above her head, bailing out early. On her second attempt at 125kg, she was able to get the weight up and pumped her fist after in satisfaction, however judges ruled it a "no lift."
She returned quickly for another attempt at 125kg only to fail to be able to stand up with the weight above her head. Hubbard was the only one of the 13 finalists to not complete at least one lift.
After the bar fell to the ground, she patted her chest and made a heart out of her hands as a signal to those in attendance and, presumably, anyone watching around the world.
Hubbard has generated enormous attention in the run-up to the 87+kg finals. Her presence has sparked debates about whether transgender athletes should be included, and by what standards, in the Olympics against concerns about what is fair to the other competitors.
In the middle is limited scientific research concerning the advantages for the transgender athletes, especially those who didn’t transition until after they went through puberty as a male.
The International Olympic Committee has said it will unveil a new framework on the issue soon, calling its current policy "outdated."
In the interim, Hubbard took the stage here inside a theatre in central Tokyo, where no fans but plenty of media from around the world were there to watch.
What advantages Hubbard had were impossible to know, especially in lieu of her performance.
She stood out on age alone, though; at 43 she was by far the oldest of the 13 finalists. American Sarah Elizabeth Robels was 33 but everyone else was in their 20s, including six competitors aged 21 or younger.
The IOC is still wrestling with the issue. Its guidance will determine the standards applied by many individual sports federations, such as, in this case, the International Weightlifting Federation.
"What's really important to remember is that trans women are women," said Richard Budgett, director of the IOC’s medical and scientific department. "And so, in the spirit of inclusion in sport, if at all possible, they should be included in sport.
"It's only where there's evidence of real concern — that that would lead to a disproportionate performance advantage for those individuals — should any rules and regulations come in to change that eligibility," Budgett said. "The IOC is determined to increase inclusion in sport as one of the fundamentals, but at the same time our highest, highest priority is fairness."

[SHAFAQ] Terror victims and their relatives in Nineveh on Monday organized a vigil, the first since July 2017, near the headquarters of the Governorate in downtown djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , accusing both the federal and local governments of "neglect".
"I did not receive any of my rights; nither salary differences nor a land," Ahmed, a thirty years old man whom a mortar shall bound him to a wheelchair, told Shafaq News Agency correspondent, "Some people use nepotism or influence to claim their rights. transaction brokers are asking for half of my entitlements to complete the legal papers."
Abdul Aziz Mahmoud, a relative of a Martyr, said that no land has been allocated to him even though he completed the paperwork years ago.
"The local government grants the families of the deaders lands that are not suitable for human living, while they preserve the good land to powerful people."
The head of Nineveh's Directorate for Terrorism Victims, Qaysar Adib, told Shafaq News Agency, "despite our relentless demands, the local government only offers promises; nothing substantial."
"The families addressed the National Pensions Commission to claim the salaries of the Martyrs and injured. Some of the injured people need the money to undergo surgeries to mitigate the handicap or the mutilation they sustained," he noted, "salary differences have not been disbursed since 2019."

The courts for the most part have not supported police who take down bystanders filming incidents. Unless the one recording is way too close and fails to give the officers sufficient space. Some lawyer is going to get a big commission.
Pre-Video
Officers said they were trying to stop Crudup for illegally parking when he struck an officer with his motor scooter while attempting to flee the scene.
Video + 4
Suspect Dalonta Crudup (the Scooter owner/driver) is seen via Royal Palm Hotel security Camera FLEEING Police into a elevator. Where he is stopped and ordered to place himself on the ground. He did so at this point w/o incident.
A lot of additional (about 9+) Police then arrived on scene at the Royal Palm Hotel in South Beach where the arrest was already in progress.
Video 25+
At this point the suspect and police arresting him and reportedly turned physical and the suspect is now strongly resisting.
At + 33 seconds there is a pile of police surrounding him and he is still fighting with them. As can be seen from the video a police is knock back several feet and others are being pushed up and back away from him (resisting arrest)
Khalid Vaughn the FB/BoobTube Videographer wanta-be is now seen.
At (1m 18s)
A police officer is seen to what appears to be kicking. But note the officers footing and the skirmish still in progress.
At 1m 45s+
The suspect is lifted off the floor and still resisting. The suspect appears to shake away from the officer holding him, thus falling to the floor.
At 2m 16s
The suspect is still being combative
==============================================
NOTES:
1. Given Dispatch and the Watch commander must have been involved given the number of Police at the scene. It is pretty clear the suspect Dalonta Crudup obviously fled a good distance and across several patrol areas.
2. GOOGLED his "latest" Mugshot doesn't look like he was kicked or was visibly harmed in any shown manner.
3. No stranger to Felony resisting Arrest and run-ins with the law.
4. Tracked him back to a Gun/Drug Distribution related arrest back in Sunday, January 12, 2020 Incident in DC.
Metro-DCIn that incident Officers eventually wrestled the backpack from Crudup and found marijuana, cash, and an M&P pistol, the sworn statement says. Crudup was charged with carrying a pistol without a license. A Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380 caliber handgun was recovered in the 2500 block of 14th Street, Northeast. The following person was arrested: 23-year-old Dalonta Valeri Crudup, of Silver Spring, MD, for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Unregistered ammunition, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device. CCN: 20-007-295
He had a ACLU lawyer and beat the charge over a report wording vs a court testimony technicality.
5. Moved from DC to Miami in the last year?????
SUMMARY: Could have been handled much better given the number of police present.

[Ruvesna] The US political system is teetering on the brink of a tailspin.
Democrats hold on to a consensus with Republicans who oversee defense, security, foreign policy, and street influence.
The priority of Biden's policy is two questions: strategic stability and elections-2022. Strategic stability in Biden's understanding - when he talks about the Russian threat at every corner, moves troops, carries out provocations, imposes sanctions, and Russia does not respond.
Then the information background contributes to the consolidation of society, an increase in spending on defense, security and foreign policy, but does not lead to critical consequences.
Biden understands that any meaningful response from the Kremlin to a provocation is the collapse of the existing system.
The Kremlin also knows that the basis of a bipartisan consensus is not ideology, fear of China and Russia, but corruption. If the Kremlin "detonates a corruption bomb," the street will be radicalized and out of control.
The Black Swan will fly not only to polling stations, the Senate and Congress, but also to the stock exchange.
Corruption did not appear in the United States yesterday. Everyone knows about Dick Cheney's billions earned from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Not everyone, no.
But corruption at the top affects the mood of the majority only when the standard of living drops to a critical level or the "information bomb" explodes.
Biden is not capable of stopping the mass impoverishment, and the "information bomb" is in the hands of Putin. So he gets nervous, announcing the Kremlin's interference in the elections in a year and a half.
The champions in corruption: the Pentagon, the military-industrial complex, and the State Department.
If we estimate it according to Russian legislation, then we are talking about hundreds of billions of dollars.
How many of them "stick to their hands" in black, "convert into golden toilets" and go offshore? It is unknown because more than 80% of corruption deals are legalized through lobbying, financing of parties and near-party structures.
Many numbers are in the public domain. It takes ten days to figure it out, and given the capabilities of the Kremlin, Ukrainian and Polish talkativeness, it is possible to count to a cent and link to specific persons involved in kickbacks.
I recommend Arsen Avakov as a thread to the "tangle of corruption" between Ukraine and the United States. Avakov is a war criminal, but he has formed as a "Kharkov kid" and knows that a rollback of more than 40% is lawlessness.
When Petya went into lawlessness, Avakov traveled to Washington, revealed Petya's schemes and replaced Poroshenko with Zelensky. This was Avakov's fatal mistake.
The year had fun - Trump had no time for Ukraine, but with the arrival of Biden, the Americans took into account valuable information from Avakov and switched all profitable schemes to their own. Kent is a friend, but it turned out that he came to designate his own, where Avakov is superfluous.
Nothing but business.
As a clue to the American "tangle of corruption", I recommend studying the publicly available prices for food included in the food ration of an American and Russian soldier, clothing items included in the equipment of a US and Russian special forces soldier, industrial goods, computers and household appliances.
You will see that the prices for food, clothing, industrial goods, and household appliances in the United States in 2020 are higher than Russian prices by no more than 15%, and the prices for dry rations, special forces equipment, planes, helicopters, and tanks are comparable in quality and combat effectiveness, is twice as high.
Listen for a couple of days to Ukrainian “soros” and you will understand that the price for them is “a penny on a market day,” and in the budget of the State Department - tens of millions. Does at least 15% reach Ukraine?

Corruption did not appear in the United States yesterday.
Yeah, and the Chinese threw gas on the fire. Similar to the drug lords and Mexican politicians except the for the drug lords, it's all been for domestic excitement not bringing down foreign governments.
#7
Leftest corruption had almost taken over the country and they got arrogant. The bulk of the country noticed and voted Trump to fix things because GOP wouldn't.
Left pulled out out all stops legal/illegal/viral to get rid of Trump. They exposed themselves further and more Americans noticed.
I think 2022 will be a red-wave of insane proportions. Far, far beyond the margin of theft. And the clean election efforts will also limit the margin of theft.
#8
Add to that, if Trump is re-elected in 2024 (I think he will) he'll get cooperation from this new crop of GOP unlike the last time. Also Trump would be elected with a VP (deSantes probably) ready to take over after a single term creating a 3 term run like Reagan Bush that would really help this country get our sh1t together again.

Trust them on that... ’s al-Mayadeen television network reported the development on Monday.
It specified the target as a "surveillance" UAV, and the exact whereabouts of the incident as the area lying to the south of Aleppo.
More details are yet to come about the precise circumstances surrounding the development.

[TASS] Militants from the Taliban movement (outlawed in Russia) seized the building of the regional state TV and radio center in the city of Lashkar Gah on Monday, the administrative center of Afghanistan’s Helmand province, TOLOnews television network reports referring to its sources.
According to TOLOnews, all local media outlets in Helmand province have stopped operating. The staff of the TV and radio center left the building two days ago.
Early in July, the Taliban took control over Afghanistan’s regions along the border with five countries - Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, China and Pakistan - against the background of the withdrawal of western coalition troops.
The new commander of the Afghan Armed Forces, General Wali Mohammad Ahmadzai, said the army’s priority was to protect the main cities of the country, border crossing points and roads against the Taliban. According to him, Taliban leaders intend to first cut off the main roads via which goods are supplied, and then launch an offensive on cities and regions.
US airstrikes hit Taliban in Helmand province
[KhaamaPress] Afghanistan Ministry of Defense confirmed that the US army has conducted aerial strikes in the picturesque provincial capital-Lashkargah- city of Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... province on Monday, August 02.
215 Maiwand corps based in southern Helmand province also said that the aerial strikes killed 40 Taliban ...Arabic for students... fighters.
The Afghan government though did not confirm civilian people being hit, sources in the picturesque provincial capital have said eight members of a family including children killed in the strikes.
The corps added that the fighters had attacked central prison in Lashkargah city which was driven back by the strikes.
US army has recently intensified its Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s on the Taliban to support Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
Earlier US CENTCOM commander General McKenzie had said that the US army will conduct airstrikes in support of the ANDSF in the fight against the Taliban even after full withdrawal but acknowledged that the strikes will be over the horizon.
The Taliban attacked Lashkargah city nearly ten days ago and recently toppled two Police Districts in the city and then got closer to the central jail.
The Afghan government has recently sent reinforcements to the city which led to heavy conflicts between the warring sides leaving hundreds of families displaced.
Fighting in Helmand's Capital Lashkargah Continues for 5th Day
[ToloNews] Clashes between government forces and the Taliban ...Arabic for students... intensified in the city of Lashkargah in southern Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... province, leaving some streets of the city empty of residents and adding to concerns about rising threats to major capitals.
The frontline was in District 1 where the US conducted an Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... on Monday morning that left seven Taliban killed, according to the Defense Ministry.
Lawmakers from Helmand said that the prison and the police headquarters are under siege and that festivities in District 1 are focused on capturing the district governor’s compound.
Nine bodies and eight maimed were taken to the Emergency Hospital in Lashkargah on Monday, officials said.
"Fighting is underway in Lashkargah. The security forces are not in a good condition there," said Mohammad Jami, a civil society activist from Helmand.
"Recently people’s homes were bombarded. The Taliban is hiding in people’s houses and using them as shields," said Akhtar Mohammad Badi Zai, a civil society activist from Helmand.
The Taliban has taken over 12 districts in Helmand except for Kajaki district and has captured nine out of 10 districts in the city of Lashkargah, security sources said.
Sources said all media broadcasts halted in Helmand as festivities intensified in Lashkargah.
The national TV office in Helmand in Lashkargah's District 1 was taken over by the Taliban on Monday morning, sources said, who also said that employees of the media outlet have not been in the office for the last two days.
Sources said that Matiullah Popal, the acting police chief for Nawzad district in Helmand, was killed while fighting the Taliban in the city of Lashkargah on Monday morning.
"We will soon witness the fall of Lashkargah if the situation continues," said Shogufa Nawrozi, an MP from Helmand.
The Defense Ministry said the Taliban has sustained heavy casualties in the Helmand festivities.
"Firmly support the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces as well as the Republic. Besides this, make efforts for mobilizing the people," President Ghani told politicians at a special session on Monday.
Also on Monday, five security force members were also killed in a Taliban attack on their outposts in the west of Charikar City in the central province of Parwan.
And there was an incident in Baghlan province: "There was a misunderstanding between the police and the public uprising forces and three people were killed and three were maimed," said Ahmad Jawed Basharat, a front man for the Baghlan police.
Government figures indicate that 455 Taliban were killed in Afghan forces operations in the past 24 hours and 232 more were maimed. The Taliban has denied this claim.
