[AP via Dallas Morning News] Kamala Harris introduced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to the nation at a raucous rally Tuesday in battleground Pennsylvania that was aimed at building momentum for the newly minted Democratic presidential ticket in the sprint toward Election Day.
"He’s the kind of person who makes people feel like they belong and then inspires them to dream big. ... That’s the kind of vice president America deserves," Harris said while standing with Walz in Philadelphia.
In choosing the 60-year-old Walz, Harris is elevating a Midwestern governor, military veteran and union supporter who helped enact an ambitious Democratic agenda for his state, including sweeping protections for abortion rights and generous aid to families.
Walz, who grew up in the small town of West Point, Nebraska, was a teacher, coach and union member at Mankato West High School in Minnesota before entering politics.

He won the first of six terms in Congress in 2006 from a mostly rural southern Minnesota district and used the office to champion veterans issues. "We both believe in lifting people up, not knocking them down," she said. "We both know that the vast majority of us have so much more in common than what separates us. And we see in our fellow Americans neighbors, never enemies." Except for the fascists, deplorables, and Trumpists.

The Trump campaign on Tuesday immediately tried to tag Walz as a far-left liberal. You left off the usual 'without evidence'. But you've memory-holed all the evidence.
"It’s no surprise that San Francisco Liberal Kamala Harris wants West Coast wannabe Tim Walz as her running-mate — Walz has spent his governorship trying to reshape Minnesota in the image of the Golden State," said Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s campaign press secretary.
Trump, who often weighs in on the news on his social media network, posted simply, "THANK YOU!" after the news of Walz’s selection was public. He followed up with another post a few hours later, proclaiming "This is the most Radical Left duo in American history" and suggested Biden "feels that he made a historically tragic mistake" and would try to get back in the race again.

Think of Walz as the Tiananmen Candidate, and you won't be far off the mark.
[PJMedia] BIG BREAKING NEWS: Our friends at Decision Desk HQ have declared Wesley Bell the winner of the Democrat primary in Missouri's 1st District, which means that Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) has lost!
The Squad is now a little less Squaddy. And that's a good thing.
Original Article:
All right, y'all, it's Tuesday night, and you know what that means. Primary time! This week, we have contests in four states: Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, and Washington.
I was secretly hoping that Kansas would have a lot of races to write about because I wanted to pepper them with references to Kansas the band in honor of my friend Kerry Livgren, one of the founding members. Kansas only has House and Senate races today, along with state legislative primaries, so it's probably for the best that I don't carry on past the point of know return.
Kansas has four congressional districts. Only in the 2nd District is there a Democrat primary; the other districts have Democrats running unopposed. On the GOP side, the 2nd District features a crowded field. I can't say who will win; after all, if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know.
In Michigan, the Senate race includes heavy favorites in each party. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) should walk away with the Democratic nomination, while Mike Rogers should handily win the GOP contest.
One of the most fascinating House races will be the 8th District, where a wide open field is attempting to fill the seat that Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.) is vacating. The GOP is looking to flip the seat, while a tight race of Democrats will fight to keep the seat blue.
Missouri gives us a chance to knock off a member of the Squad; in the 1st District, Wesley Bell may end Rep. Cori Bush's (D-Mo.) career, which would be schadenfreudelicious. The state has several statewide races going on today as well.
Both parties' races for governor feature crowded fields with only two or three real contenders on either side. In the Senate primary, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) runs unopposed, while a slew of Democrats are vying to unseat him. Progressive Lucas Kunce is the heavy favorite to win the Democratic primary.
Here's what's most interesting about Washington's primaries: the state does jungle primaries where the top two advance to the general election regardless of party affiliation. You can imagine how this will look in districts that favor one party heavily. In addition to House and Senate contests, Washington has several statewide races taking place today.
Polls close in Missouri at 8 p.m. Eastern. In Kansas and Michigan, most polls will close at 8 p.m. Eastern, although some close at 9 p.m. In Washington, polls close at 11 p.m. Eastern, but many of the votes will arrive by mail, which means that totals will be slower to come in.
Once again, our partners at Decision Desk HQ have provided us with the most up-to-date results, which you'll see below. Stay tuned here at PJ Media for continued coverage and analysis of the 2024 election cycle.
I think the former honourable Representative from St. Louis severely mistakes the balance of forces in this situation. As a nurse she should know better.
Ukraine on Monday August 5 criticized Mali's decision to sever diplomatic ties, calling it short-sighted and hasty. Kyiv stated that no evidence had been provided to implicate Ukraine in the fighting that resulted in the deaths of Malian soldiers and Russian mercenaries last month.
The West African nation announced on Sunday it was immediately ending relations with Ukraine following comments from Ukraine's military spy agency regarding the late July clashes in northern Mali.
Tuareg rebels claimed responsibility for the incident, reporting they had killed at least 84 Russian Wagner mercenaries and 47 Malian soldiers. This incident appears to be Wagner's most significant defeat since they began assisting Mali's military authorities against insurgent groups two years ago.
"It is regrettable that Mali decided to sever relations without thoroughly examining the facts and circumstances of the incident and without providing any evidence of Ukraine's involvement," the Ukrainian foreign ministry stated.
Following the clashes, Andriy Yusov, a spokesperson for Ukraine's military spy agency, mentioned on television that Malian rebels had received the "necessary" information to carry out the attack.
Ukraine, which has been fending off Russian troops for over 29 months since Russia's full-scale invasion, did not confirm its involvement in the incident in its statement.
Mali expressed "deep shock" over the "subversive remarks," interpreting them as an admission of involvement. Mali condemned these actions as violations of its sovereignty and equated them to supporting international terrorism.
Over the weekend, Senegalese authorities summoned Ukraine’s ambassador, Yurii Pyvovarov, accusing him of supporting the attack in a since-deleted video posted on the Ukrainian embassy’s Facebook account.
The accusations against Kyiv come at a time of fraying relations between the West and coup-affected Sahel nations. Following military takeovers in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger in recent years, the juntas have expelled French and U.S forces and turned to Russia’s mercenary units for security assistance.

On Monday, 48 hours after the battle, Andriy Yusov, spokesman for Ukraine's military intelligence service (GUR), made a statement that did not go unnoticed. During a broadcast on a local TV channel, he suggested that his services were collaborating with the rebels operating in northern Mali. According to him, they had "received useful information, and not just that which allowed them to carry out a successful military operation against Russian war criminals." "We certainly won't talk about the details just yet," he said.
According to one rebel commander..., "We have links with the Ukrainians... said a spokesman for the CSP-DPA Mohamed Elmaouloud Ramadane.
[JustTheNews] The U.S. Justice Department charged Asif Merchant, 46, a Pak man with alleged ties to the Iranian government with plotting to carry out political liquidations, according to an indictment revealed on Tuesday.
The arrest on July 12 resulted in enhanced security for former President Donald Trump ...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party... and certain U.S. government officials who the FBI ...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time... reportedly determined were the suspect's targets.
A Justice Department official confirmed the case involving Merchant was the threat that Secret Service was aware of when it became to ramp up Trump's security in the lead up to the Butler, Pa. rally where he was shot.
Federal prosecutors filed the charges in Brooklyn against Merchant, who reportedly traveled to New York City and collaborated with hitmen on the plot.
Merchant is currently in federal custody after getting arrested while allegedly planning to leave the U.S.
A Pakistani man with ties to Iran has been arrested for allegedly plotting to assassinate a US official in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Qassem Soleimani, the Justice Department said Tuesday.
Federal officials identified Asif Raza Merchant, 46, as a Pakistani citizen who has said he has a wife and children in Iran. He traveled frequently to Iran, Syria and Iraq, the Justice Department said and allegedly sought to hire a hitman to assassinate a politician or a US government official in the United States.
Soleimani, who headed the IRGC’s Quds Force, a US-designated terrorist group, was killed in a US drone strike in Baghdad in January 2020. Iranian officials have repeatedly vowed to take “revenge” for the killing.
Court documents do not identify any of the potential targets, but the case was unsealed just weeks after US officials disclosed that a threat on Donald Trump’s life from Iran prompted additional security in the days before a Pennsylvania rally last month in which Trump was injured by a gunman’s bullet.
FBI Director Christopher Wary said the Pakistani national had “close ties to Iran” and that the alleged murder-for-hire plot was “straight out of the Iranian playbook.”
Asif Merchant traveled to New York in April for the purpose of hiring hitmen, even paying a $5,000 advance to two would-be assassins who were actually undercover law enforcement officers.
The instructions prosecutors say he gave to the men he thought he was hiring were for killings to take place in August or September — after he had left the country.
Merchant was arrested on July 12 as he planned to leave the country.
In August 2022, the United States charged a member of the Revolutionary Guards with plotting to assassinate former US National Security Advisor John Bolton. The Justice Department said Shahram Poursafi, who remains at large, had offered to pay an individual in the United States $300,000 to kill Bolton.
Iran has dismissed the claim that it had plotted to kill Bolton as “fiction.”

[ColonelCassad] "The icon of American feminism, Gloria Steinem, turned out to be a CIA agent whose task was to eradicate the discussion of class struggle from the feminist movement and focus all the movement's activity on the issue of gender and only gender."
The 90-year-old leader of US feminists turned out to be a particularly valuable CIA agent, who was able to remove the topic of class struggle from the Western agenda before the difficult moment of the 70s crisis.
In light of this, it is not surprising that she became a co-founder of the "National Women's Political Union", which for many decades became a filter for women applying for elected and appointed positions in the US government. It is funny that it was Steinem who, by her example, showed the organization's independence from the intelligence services.
Gloria was recruited in the 1950s, after which Steinem spent two years in India as a Chester Bowles Asian Fellow, and upon returning to the United States, she was engaged in sending American students abroad to disrupt the World Youth Festivals organized by the Soviet Union.
But she played her main role by going to solve the task set by the CIA to infiltrate the feminist movement and became a writer for the fashion magazine Esquire. There she did her job well - she wrote and quite successfully about women and the infringement of their rights. She needed the CIA's help only a couple of times, for example, when she interviewed John Lennon, after which she became known to a truly wide circle of American women and by 1966 had become America's leading feminist.
The lady has no children, and from a marriage that happened at 66 (she became a widow at 68) she had a stepson - the famous actor Christian Bale.
Similar tasks are solved by many pseudo-left ecologists, feminists and the like public, whose task is to distract the attention of the masses to worthless subjects in the interests of American imperialism. Hiding behind leftist rhetoric, of course, discrediting socialism and communism along the way. Since the Cold War, little has changed in this matter.
Good lord — there are still Russians who care about Communism?

[Regnum] The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov planned to organize an attack on the Wagner group in Mali as early as 2023, The Times newspaper claims, citing alleged documents from the US National Security Agency.
At the end of July, the Wagner Group stated that from July 22 to 27, it had participated in violent clashes with militants in Mali near the city of Tinzaoutine and suffered losses among its fighters. The Senegalese publication Senenews wrote, citing sources, about the investigation by the authorities of Mali and Mauritania into the participation of Ukrainian instructors in training terrorists on Mauritanian soil.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that the fact of the Kiev regime’s cooperation with terrorists is not surprising, since Kiev itself has repeatedly resorted to the use of terrorist methods.
"Kirill Budanov, the head of the GUR, had been planning an attack on the Wagner Group in Mali since last year, according to leaked documents from the US National Security Agency," the publication noted.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, after the fighting in the area of the city of Tinzautin, the Kyiv Post published a photo of Tuareg rebels with a Ukrainian flag, allegedly taken immediately after the attack on the Wagner group. However, a similar video was found on the X social network (former Twitter). It was posted on June 10. The footage shows the same people and in almost the same setting as in the photo of the Ukrainian publication.
On August 4, the Malian authorities made a clear decision to sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine, arguing that the Kiev regime supports armed terrorists who are fighting government troops. The reason for this step was the statement by Andrey Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, about Ukraine's involvement "in the cowardly, treacherous and barbaric attack of terrorist armed groups" that led to the war.

[Regnum] Eyewitnesses filmed the aftermath of a massive attack by the Ukrainian army on the Sudzhansky district in the Kursk region before the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to break through into Russian territory.
The footage shows a damaged truck, with the sounds of Russian attack aircraft flying overhead.
Acting Governor of Kursk Oblast Alexey Smirnov reported that Russian troops prevented an attempt to break through the state border from Ukraine on August 6. Ukrainian troops tried to cross the border in Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts.
The governor said that one person was killed and 13 others were injured during the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on Kursk Oblast. In particular, eight people were injured in Sudzha, including four children.
The FSB Border Service, together with the Russian military, repelled an armed provocation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the border in the Kursk region.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that up to 300 Ukrainian fighters attacked border villages in the Kursk region, supported by 11 tanks and 22 armored vehicles. The department added that the state border cover units, together with the FSB border guards, are repelling attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and striking their positions near the state border, as well as reserves in the Sumy region.
In the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region, battles are underway with the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the border, the acting head of the region, Alexey Smirnov , reported on August 6.
"Artillery and aviation are striking the enemy. Russian Defense Ministry soldiers and border guards continue to destroy the enemy ," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
About 16 units of saboteur equipment have already been destroyed.
As reported by the Regnum news agency , on the morning of August 6, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to break through to the region, but were routed and thrown back to Ukrainian territory. As noted by the Defense Ministry, up to 300 Ukrainian army fighters, supported by 11 tanks and more than 20 armored vehicles, attacked the positions of Russian troops covering the Russian state border near the villages of Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnya.
Since the night, the forces of the Kyiv regime have attempted massive attacks with drones on the Kursk region. In total, as a result of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one girl died, 18 people were injured.
Andriy Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee , said that the Ukrainian army will face a tough response for attempting to break through the state border. He emphasized that by using artillery and drones against civilians, Kiev is trying to compensate for failures on the combat contact line.

Putin accuses Ukraine of 'provocation' amid alleged border incursion
"Gentlemen, you can't fight here! This is a war zone."
A bit soon to tell, but I wonder if this is a PR move by the Ukrainians to distract world attention from the recent Russian gains that have been occupying the news. Certainly a bold move, but whether it results in a strategic gain remains to be seen.
#10
Would UKR be able to hold any gains? Seems more nuisance then strategery.
Lot's of film floating around. Might be the whole reason for all this. Film will probably end up being part of an ukr marketing package for more donations.
#11
Would UKR be able to hold any gains? If Russia moves units in Ukraine then doubtful, which I think is the entire goal of this operation with the added bonus it makes Moscow look important and incompetent.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have launched a up to 25K, or small NATO Corps sized, incursion into the Kursk Oblast that is moving between 7 & 10 km a day.
AFU Bde have between 4 to 9 battalions per brigade with 6 Bn as average, so ~18 Bn seem involved. AFU's Strategic raid🧵 1/ pic.twitter.com/BiqBCtesoH
At the end he also points out the Russians now overstressing their railway hubs and rails desperately trying to get troops into the area and it is showing the cracks.
Objectives Ukraine has met so far:
1.) Cut off further energy to Europe
2.) Overstress supply and logistic lines for Russia
3.) Make them look weak and incompetent.

Aleksandro-Kalinovskoe direction: Russian flag over the center of Novgorodskoe.
- About an hour ago, footage of the raising of the Russian flag over a school in the northwestern part of Novgorodskoye appeared on the Internet. In fact, this means that the battle for the city is in its final stage.
– In the last few weeks, the Russian Armed Forces have achieved great success in this area, having managed to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defensive lines and take commanding heights. In light of the rapid advance of Russian assault groups, there is a possibility of encircling enemy forces in the city and the “pocket” to the east.
– Judging by the configuration of the front line, the phenol and machine-building plants have also come under the control of Russian troops, which most likely means the capture of the private sector. If the guesses are correct, then the Ukrainian formations could have left the city due to the threat of being trapped in a "cauldron".
– In this case, Russian troops will clearly continue their offensive in the direction of the villages of Leonidovka, Shcherbinovka and Petrovka to further encircle Dzerzhinsk from the west, which will significantly complicate the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city and in the area as a whole.

The situation in the Kursk region.
– The situation in the Kursk region remains tense: at the moment, the main battles are still taking place in the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts, where, judging by the latest footage, Ukrainian formations have managed to advance.
– From the direction of Sverdlikovo, the Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the Stryker armored personnel carriers were able to reach the Rylsk-Sudzha highway, along which they attempted to advance in the direction of the settlement of Zeleny Shlyakh. However, on the section of the highway to the east of the village of Nizhny Klin, the enemy armored group was ambushed, and the equipment itself was later finished off by drones.
– Ukrainian media are actively distributing a video of captured Russian servicemen in the area of the Glubokoe tract, from where Ukrainian Armed Forces units had previously attempted to advance towards Kurilovka. A photo of a burnt Russian Ka-52 helicopter has also appeared.
– At the same time, clashes continue on the section of highway 38K-004 near the Sudzha checkpoint, as well as in the area of the village of Gordeyevka. However, due to the lack of objective monitoring footage, it is difficult to establish the exact configuration of the front in these areas.
– Ukrainian forces continue to strike with artillery and drones throughout the Kursk region. According to the latest data, three people have been killed in the region, at least 18 have been injured, including children.
– Russian troops are also firing at enemy positions and concentrations – one of the targets hit was a Ukrainian Buk-M1 air defense system, which was destroyed by a missile strike north of the village of Sennoe in the Sumy region.

17:09 Today, from 08.00 Moscow time, the enemy, after a fire preparation by up to 300 militants from the 22nd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, supported by 11 tanks and more than 20 combat armored vehicles, attacked positions of units covering the State Border of the Russian Federation in the areas of the settlements of Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnya in the Kursk region, directly adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border.
– The troops covering the state border, together with units of the border troops of the FSB of Russia, are repelling attacks and inflicting fire damage on the enemy in the area of the state border and reserves in the territory of the Sumy region.
- Operational-tactical and assault aviation carried out strikes on concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces manpower and equipment in the areas of the settlements of Basovka, Zhuravka, Khoten, Yunakovka, Belovody, Khrapovshchina in Sumy Oblast. Army aviation is effectively used against enemy armored vehicles. Reserves of the Russian group of troops in the Kursk direction have advanced to the area of the clash.

The situation in the Kursk region.
- This morning, Ukrainian formations attempted an offensive in the Kursk region, at the moment the main events are unfolding in the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts. The information about the enemy's attempt to break through was confirmed by the acting head of the region, Alexey Smirnov.
– At night, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched strikes across the Kursk region, launching at least 26 drones. Most of the strikes were in Sudzha, where five civilians were injured, including three children. Footage of severe damage to residential buildings is circulating online.
- Later, Ukrainian formations launched attacks in several areas. In the Korenevsky district, the enemy began moving from Vladimirovka in the direction of Gordeyevka. In the Sudzhansky district, the enemy's offensive is developing from the Sudzha checkpoint and the Glubokoe tract.
- At the same time, the main attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is aimed at Goncharovka and Kurilovka. According to incoming information, the enemy managed to wedge in along the 38K-004 highway, where at least three Ukrainian tanks and a group of infantry were spotted near the Sudzha checkpoint. Several armored vehicles were destroyed.
– Another direction of enemy attacks was the Nikolayevo-Daryino – Sverdlikovo line: according to preliminary information, battles are taking place on the outskirts of populated areas. Armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a new tactical identification mark in the form of a triangle were also spotted in this area.
– In the Ukrainian media, what is happening is presented from diametrically opposed positions: while some call the offensive an information-psychological operation on the part of the Russian authorities, others, in their usual manner, exaggerate the successes, talking about the beginning of the fighting almost in Sudzha itself.
14:37 The crew of the Ka-52 helicopter hit the Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the SVO zone –video.

– For the second time this year, Ukrainian formations are attempting to land on the Tendrovskaya Spit to the west of the Kinburn Peninsula.
- These places are isolated: only a lighthouse, where a small group of Russian naval infantry sits and monitors the air and sea space. Considering that the previous operation was planned by the GUR, there is reason to believe that this one was planned in exactly the same way. And its result was the same.
– Since midnight, Ukrainian formations began reconnaissance of the landing area, using the Bayraktar TB2 drone in the vicinity of Ochakov.
– To distract the attention of the lighthouse garrison on the Tendrovskaya Spit to the west of the Kinburn Peninsula, a BEK was launched. In fact, one of the garrison's tasks is to observe cruise missiles, UAV flights, and enemy BEKs.
– Around three o’clock in the morning, twelve boats with Ukrainian troops moved towards the spit, intending to land. As a result of a short battle, the first three boats were destroyed – they were washed ashore. The remaining nine turned around and headed in the opposite direction.
– The enemy’s losses during yet another failed landing are estimated at up to 20 men. As for the lighthouse garrison, five naval infantry escaped with light wounds received during the skirmish.

[Regnum] The US buildup of nuclear potential will not ease tensions with Russia, but will only increase the risk of a nuclear war. This assumption was made by William Hartung, an analyst at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Government, in an article for Responsible Statecraft.
He commented on a report by the Heritage Foundation think tank, which suggests that the future American president should increase the country's nuclear potential in light of the successes of Russia and China.
"Instead of returning to the Cold War-era nuclear arms race, Washington needs to find ways to ease tensions with its main rivals," the expert wrote in an August 5 article.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, the head of the National Nuclear Security Agency, Jill Hruby, said on August 4 that the Pentagon received more than 200 modernized nuclear weapons in 2023. This is the largest delivery in a year since the end of the Cold War.
In May, renowned American economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs called on American President Joe Biden to enter into negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin to mitigate the risks of a nuclear war in the world. The economist criticized the White House for refusing to contact those whom Washington considers its opponents. The professor also praised the Russian leadership.
That same month, Russia's ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, called on American officials to reconsider their aggressive rhetoric toward Moscow, stressing that a clash between the two nuclear powers would have unpredictable consequences.
On July 31, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that the hybrid war unleashed by the US and NATO against Russia threatens a direct clash between nuclear powers.

[SUDANTRIBUNE] The International Criminal Court (ICC) is determined to seek justice for victims of atrocities in Darfur and will soon issue arrest warrants for those responsible, the court’s prosecutor said on Monday.
In a briefing to the UN Security Council on Monday َAugust 5, Karim Khan expressed regret over the "feeling that Darfur is a law-free zone" where atrocities are committed with impunity, sometimes with the support of external actors.
"But to those on the ground today in Darfur — I am addressing both the Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... ese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces — to those that are aiding and abetting them, that are encouraging them, that are funding them, that are supplying them with weapons, that are giving orders that are gaining certain advantages, I want to be crystal clear that we are investigating," he said.
Khan stressed that the ICC is using its resources to investigate events since April 2023 to ensure they adhere to international humanitarian law and the principle that every human life has equal value.
This is the first time the ICC prosecutor has publicly addressed the responsibility of external actors in the ongoing conflict in Sudan. Various reports have alleged the involvement of the United Arab Emirates and Chad in supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Khan also informed the council that the Sudanese government is cooperating with the ICC and has allowed a team to enter Port Sudan to investigate and collect information.
"We have managed to collect evidence, and the engagements with General Burhan and his authorities have also allowed a number of long-standing requests to be effected," he said.

I find it notable that @GovTimWalz was selected over @GovernorShapiro despite his importance to winning the PA vote, hours/days before Iran attacks Israel. Not a good look for the Democratic Party.
The timing and this decision are reminiscent of the @JoeBiden administration… leaking to the media that the U.S. is withholding weapons from Israel in the middle of a hostage negotiation.
@KamalaHarris
and the Democratic Party have made it eminently clear that they believe that they will earn more votes by supporting Israel’s enemies than its supporters.
I encourage you to vote accordingly.
****************
Further highlighting
@KamalaHarris
’s radical selection of her VP candidate and the danger she and her VP pick pose to our national security, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is tied to ISIS and often frequents the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic center in Minnesota
…in the Rantburg archives as the Dar Al-Farooq mosque, which clearly has been busy since it opened its doors in 2011…
known for being a key location for recruitment of ISIS terrorists, according to the FBI.
Dar Al-Farooq caters to the Somali community.
A report based on FBI statistics revealed that Minneapolis’s Somali community has become the terrorist recruitment capital of the United States.
“FBI stats show 45 Somalis left to join the ranks of either the Somalia-based Islamic insurgency al-Shabab, or the Iraq- and Syria-based ISIS combined. And as of 2018, a dozen more had been arrested with the intention of leaving to support ISIS. Both numbers are far higher than those of alleged terrorist wannabes who left or attempted to leave the country from other areas in the country where Muslim refugees have been resettled.”
Many of those Somalis attended Dar Al Farooq, which is the most popular Somali mosque in Minnesota.
Imam Waleed Idris al-Meneesey is the head of the Dar Al Farooq Islamic center in Minnesota. Al-Meneesey has not only called for the killing of Jews, but he has also been cited saying Muslims should refrain from participating in non-Islamic courts that do not follow Islamic shariah law, particularly those in the West guided by “man-made” law.
In 2008, the Assembly of Muslim Jurists Association of America (AMJA), where al-Meneese sits on the FATWA committee issued a declaration telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement “in countries which do not rule by Allah’s dictates”, including the FBI. The declaration invoked many of the same arguments mentioned in a 2007 paper published by al-Meneese’s.
As you can see below, I have provided screenshots of the Dar Al-Farooq Center promoting Tim Walz, Imam Al-Maneese’s bio, a photo of
@GovTimWalz
inside the ISIS affiliated Dar Al-Farooq center, and a screenshot of a Facebook post made by Walz’s Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan
@LtGovFlanagan
saying she and Tim Walz “stand with Dar Al Farooq”.
How can anyone vote for a Presidential candidate whose VP openly embraces and stands with an ISIS tied mosque whose IMAM is calling for Muslims to kill Jews, only respect sharia Law, murder Jews, and not cooperate with law enforcement?
Why is Tim Walz openly embracing an Islamic Center whose Imam sits on a “fatwa committee” when we know that Muslims issue Fatwas against those they want murdered in the name of Islam?
You can literally see this on the Imam’s own bio (see below). This is how he is promoting himself in his own words.
This is as radical as it gets.
The expose I have presented is disqualifying material. Can you imagine having a Vice President who says he stands with the Islamic center that is responsible for the recruitment of dozens of ISIS terrorists who tried to join ISIS Overseas while living in Minnesota and attending Dar Al Farooq?
The Democrat Party is openly embracing Islamic jihadists and those who openly preach about murdering Jews.
Being good at memorizing is not the same as either wisdom or knowledge, though it’s a useful skill. And merely becoming old does not make you an elder.

I promised myself when I left the service to never stand in such long 'hurry up and wait' lines ever again.
Standing in line is sooo yesterday. Maybe we could do it like absentee voting where you drop off your "vote" in a bin and on Jane Fonda Day we deliver all the fluid at once.
[NYPOST] A UK mother was left "absolutely devastated" after her daughter’s passport application was denied because she was named after a popular "Game of Thrones" character. I really hate it when I get devastated.
Lucy, from South West England, told the BBC that the initial application to get her daughter, Khaleesi, 6, a passport was denied — with officials telling her she needed Warner Brothers’ approval because it owns the name’s trademark. The poor child. Besides, it wasn't even a name. It was a title.
"I was absolutely devastated, we were so looking forward to our first holiday together," Lucy said. Yeah. Devastation always just kinda... devastates me.
The 39-year-old mom was planning their "dream" trip to Disneyland Gay Paree when she got the bad news. Took out a home equity line to see Mickey, huh?
"I had a letter come through from the Passport Office, saying her name is trademarked by Warner Brothers," she said. "It was the first I’ve heard of such a thing — I was astonished." Which Warner brother has it copyrighted?
After receiving legal advice, the disappointed mom learned her daughter was allowed to use that name, and forwarded that information to the Passport Office. It's a stupid name that'll be a plague on the poor child's life, but there aren't any laws against being a generic dumbass.
"I didn’t understand and felt frustrated. If she could get a birth certificate, would something not have been flagged up then?" she said. Wouldn't have had that problem if she'd given her a proper name, like maybe Guillibalda, or even Herleve..
"I never thought you could trademark a name," she added. If you can ruin a child's life why can't you trademark a name?
The Passport Office reportedly later called Lucy to apologize for the error. "We're so sorry you're a 'tard!"

"I didn’t understand and felt frustrated. If she could get a birth certificate, would something not have been flagged up then?" she said.
Imagine living in the UK and still being surprised by bureaucracy. The smart move would be to say she identifies as Beowulf and sue the Passport Office for transphobia.

According to investigators, all three are members of ISIS and intended to commit a terrorist attack in an Orthodox church – they were planning an attack on the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Makhachkala, the Mash Gor Telegram channel reported today, citing a source.
Criminal cases have been opened regarding the terrorist attack and illegal arms trafficking, the Telegram channel "Conscience of Dagestan" noted today, citing a source.
As of 12:45 Moscow time, there are no comments on the websites of the Investigative Committee, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan, or the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan regarding the information about the detention of two young men and one teenager for preparing a terrorist attack.
[WashingtonTimes] A federal court held the first hearing Tuesday in a $30 million wrongful death lawsuit brought by the estate of Ashli Babbitt, the woman who was rubbed out at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
U.S. District Court Judge Ana C. Reyes went over arcane pre-trial matters and scheduled September deadlines on motions and replies during a hearing that lasted roughly 40 minutes.
She urged counsel to get on the same page regarding how to procure and exchange pre-trial evidence, known as discovery, and warned of "consequences" if they did not.
While arcane in substance, the hearing was a notable milestone in the civil case emanating from Babbitt’s death. The suit alleges the U.S. government is responsible for wrongful death, assault, battery and negligence.
Babbitt, a 35-year-old Air Force veteran, died in the Capitol riot after she was shot by U.S. Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd near the floor of the House of Representatives.
The attack unfolded after then-President Donald Trump ...They hit him with slander, they impeached him twice. Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down... contested the 2020 election results and, in remarks near the White House, urged supporters to march to the Capitol to voice their objection to the certification of President Biden’s win.
The lawsuit says Babbitt traveled from San Diego, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, to Washington in January 2021.
She attended Mr. Trump’s speech at the Ellipse near the White House before walking to the Capitol, entering the Senate side "long after others had done so" and being directed by Capitol Police to head to the House side, the civil complaint says.
Babbitt eventually made her way to the east entrance to the Speaker’s Lobby.
"After demonstrators filled the hallway outside the lobby, two individuals in the crowded, tightly packed hallway struck and dislodged the glass panels in the lobby doors and the right door sidelight," the lawsuit says. "Lt. Byrd, who is a USCP commander and was the incident commander for the House on January 6, 2021, shot Ashli on sight as she raised herself up into the opening of the right door sidelight."
The lawsuit says Babbitt was not armed and the police did not see her hands or know her intentions before shooting her.
The Capitol Police determined in 2021 that Lt. Byrd’s actions were "lawful and within department policy" and he would not face discipline.
The violence shocked the nation and spawned a second impeachment trial of Mr. Trump, who was acquitted by the Senate. He still faces criminal prosecution around his post-election actions, though the courts are navigating various legal issues around those cases.
Three other Trump supporters died during the Jan. 6 riot, two of heart attacks and one from a drug overdose.
Hours after clashing with rioters, Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick died of a stroke, which the medical examiner deemed a death from natural causes. Scores of copperswere maimed, and four officers who responded to the onslaught later died by suicide.
[NEWARAB] A 22-year-old activist has been convicted of condoning a crime for chanting the slogan "from the river to the sea, Paleostine will be free" at a rally in the German capital Berlin, in a move her defence team slammed as a suppression of free speech.
Ava Moayeri, a German-Iranian national, was arrested just days after Israel's war on Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... began on 7 October after she was accused of "condoning the assault by Hamas ..always the voice of sweet reason... " when she recited the chant on an 11 October protest near the Sonnenallee boulevard in the Neukölln district, which the activist co-organised.
Before the trial started, Moayeri said in a statement that she had stood by her words but viewed them as positioning for peace in the region rather than support for Hamas. She also asserted that she had rejected "any form of antisemitism". "It was more: 'Go, team, go!' And 'We're number one!'"
The presiding judge, Birgit Balzer rejected Moayeri's defence, stating that the chant had "denied the right of the state of Israel to exist".
Balzer added that the phrase was particularly controversial in Germany, and the nation has an obligation to make Jewish people in the country feel "safe and comfortable" after its role in the horrific Holocaust, during which some six million Jews were systematically murdered.
The Moayeri was ordered to pay a €600 fine.

[SUDANTRIBUNE] Residents of a village west of Sennar in Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... were forced to flee for a second time after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) gave them 48 hours to leave, an eyewitness told Sudan Tribune.
The villagers had recently returned to Bargo Wadahouba, having been displaced to Sennar six months ago following fighting between the RSF and the Sudanese army. The fighting has escalated since April, despite a brief military operation to regain control of Al Jazirah state.
According to the eyewitness, the RSF has committed widespread abuses in Al Jazirah, including killings, looting, arrests, and forced displacement. The RSF controls most of the state and has exploited communication blackouts to carry out its operations.
The army has been accused of failing to protect civilians, and calls have grown for locals to be armed to defend themselves against the RSF.

Indeed. And for the same reasons - tribal people settling their conflicts by traditional tribal means.
I have a theory that a goodly portion of the "gun violence" in places like Chicago stems from lack of access to the legal system. If normal citizens have a dispute over commerce, they can go to court. But as a criminal, the police will, at best, be uninterested in your problems. Try calling 911 because that quarter DeShawn sold you wouldn't get a fly high. Same with DeShawn trying to get legal relief because someone just shot him in the ass.

Nasrallah, speaking from his bunker, says Hezbollah, Iran 'obliged to respond' to Israel after Haniyeh, Shukr killings

I suspect there is a lot of dissension in Iran on how to respond. Otherwise they would have done so already.
As far as Hezbollah, they would wait until Iran responds.
In the meantime, every day they wait is something of a humiliation.

Every hour they delay response is another hour of Israeli pilots and ground crew being on hot standby with the clock ticking on maintenance checks, etc. They will never be blasé but eventually their edge will dull. Plus it takes a few days for the new Murmansk units to be calibrated and function checked offline

[ARABNEWS] Israeli warplanes swooped low over the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday, setting off a series of sonic booms that rattled windows across the city minutes before the head of Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... ’s Hezbollah was set to give an address.
The loud booms sent residents rushing to open their windows to prevent the glass from shattering, or standing on their balconies to get a glimpse of the planes flying over. There was no comment from the Israeli military.

Hezbollah earlier on Tuesday said it launched a swarm of attack drones at two military sites near Acre in northern Israel and also attacked an Israeli military vehicle in another location.
The Israeli military said a number of hostile drones were identified crossing from Lebanon and one was intercepted.
Israeli medical officials said seven people were evacuated to hospital, to the south of the coastal city of Nahariya, one at death's door.
The Israeli military said an initial investigation indicated the injuries were caused by an interceptor that "missed the target and hit the ground, injuring several civilians." It said the incident was still under review.
Rooters journalists saw one impact site near a bus stop on a main road outside Nahariya.
The Israeli military said in a statement sirens sounded around Acre, but that turned out to be a false alarm. It said its air force struck two Hezbollah facilities in south Lebanon.

Another Hezbollah site in Kafr Kila was also struck, the IDF adds.

[Breitbart] The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) announced Monday that July 2024 was the 60th consecutive month of more than one million background checks for gun sales at retail.
According to NSSF, the total number of National Instant Criminal Background Checks for gun sales in July was was 1,06,790.
“The last time monthly background checks associated with the sale of a firearm at retail were below 1 million was July 2019, when 830, 579 background checks for firearm sales were recorded,” NSSF noted.
NSSF president and CEO Joe Bartozzi commented:
These million-plus monthly background checks over the past five years represent the free expression of Second Amendment rights during tough and troubling times, including the COVID-19 pandemic when certain governors were shuttering gun stores and the Biden-Harris administration’s ‘zero-tolerance’ policy to revoke licenses to sell firearms. During this time, Americans who never previously considered lawful firearm ownership decided to become gun owners. We’re proud of our industry’s work to provide the means to exercise those rights to law-abiding citizens across the country.
Breitbart News has pointed out numerous times that monthly FBI reports on the number of background checks do not provide a precise figure on the number of gun sales in a given month. This is because some states regularly run background checks on concealed carry permit holders as well as checks on those applying for a permit for the first time, and neither instance is the result of a gun being sold.
NSSF goes through the FBI’s background check report, whittles it down until only background checks for actual sales are left, then publishes that figure. It is that final figure that has remained over one million a month for 60 consecutive months.

[NEWARAB] Paleostinian officials said Israeli forces killed eight people in two separate raids in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, as violence in the occupied territory showed no sign of abating.
Four people were killed in the Jenin area and four in Tubas district when Israeli forces carried out early morning raids, the Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy and the health ministry in Ramallah said.
The Israeli army reported its aircraft struck "armed terrorist cells" in the Jenin area, but did not give details on casualties.
"Four deaders and three maimed, one of whom is very critical, due to the occupation's shelling of two vehicles in the eastern neighbourhood of Jenin," the Red Islamic Thingy said in a statement.
It later said three more were maimed in Jenin.
The health ministry said: "There are four deaders and seven maimed from occupation gunfire in the town of Aqaba in Tubas district."
The ministry later said three more were maimed in Aqaba.
Aqaba residents said Israeli troops arrived at dawn and surrounded the house of Amid Ghanam leading to festivities between troops and young Paleostinians.
Ghanam and two others were killed in the festivities, while another teenager was killed near a hospital, Tubas governor Ahmed Assad told AFP.
"The army entered and surrounded the house as snipers took positions on nearby rooftops and shot anyone who moved," he said.
The teenager was shot when the troops "entered the area of the hospital," Assad said.
Aqaba mayor Abdel Razzaq Abu Arra said the teenager "was killed in cold blood". "Like a reptile" he added, helpfully.
You think of the most unexpected things, Frank G!
The Israelis report more dead Palestinians… and more raids:
[IsraelTimes] Five killed by airstrikes as IDF says gunmen hit in two sets of strikes in Jenin; four more killed in Aqabah, southeast of city; and another two in Kafr Qud
Israeli forces killed 11 Paleostinian button men, five of them in dronezaps, amid an operation in and around the northern West Bank city of Jenin on Tuesday, the military said.
Paleostinian health officials confirmed that 11 people had been killed, including five in Jenin, four in the Tubas area, and another two in the Jenin suburb of Kafr Qud.
The military said an Israeli Air Force drone hit groups of button men in two separate strikes in Jenin as troops carried out a counterterrorism operation.
According to a military source, the first strike hit two button men on a cycle of violence who were shooting at troops. The second strike targeted another cell that shot up forces.
Separately, Israeli Border Police troops killed four Paleostinian button men and maimed 10 others during an overnight operation. According to police, the incident took place in the West Bank city of Jenin. However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster... Paleostinians said they occurred in the town of Aqabah, near Tubas.
According to police, undercover officers operated to arrest wanted Paleostinians, including one suspected of terror activities. Police said the suspected terrorist began to flee as troops surrounded his home, along with another gunman.
The Border Police officers then opened fire, killing the gunman and wounding the wanted man.
Additionally, troops returned fire at button men and other Paleostinians hurling bombs at them, killing three and wounding nine others, according to police. No soldiers were hurt in the operation.
Aqabah residents said Israeli troops arrived at dawn and surrounded the house of a man named Amid Ghanam, leading to the festivities. Ghanam and two others were killed in the festivities, while a teenager was killed near a hospital, said Tubas governor Ahmed Assad.
The teenager was shot when the troops "entered the area of the hospital," Assad said, claiming the teen "was killed in cold blood."
Another two Paleostinians were killed in the town of Kafr Qud, close to Jenin on Tuesday, the PA ministry said. It said Israeli authorities were holding their bodies.
The IDF said that in all, troops and Border Police officers had killed 11 button men in Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s and festivities.
The military said that some had shot up troops, others had hurled bombs, and some were attempting to plant a bomb.
One soldier was moderately maimed amid the fighting, the IDF said.
In the past nine months, the IDF has carried out more than 60 airstrikes in the West Bank, using drones, attack helicopters, and fighter jets.
Since October 7, troops have arrested some 4,400 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,850 affiliated with Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... .
According to the Paleostinian Authority health ministry, more than 590 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed in that time. The IDF says the vast majority of them were button men killed in exchanges of fire, rioters who clashed with troops or faceless myrmidons carrying out attacks.
During the same period, 25 Israelis, including security personnel, have been killed in terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank. Another five members of the security forces were killed in festivities with terror operatives in the West Bank.

From early 2004 until late 2011, Al Asad Air Base was one of the most important air bases used by Coalition Forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom. For most of this time, this base in Al Anbar Province of western Iraq was operated by the U.S. Marine Corps to conduct aerial operations and support ground operations throughout the province. The history of this base, however, dates back to the mid-1980s. During Operation Desert Storm in 1991, Al Asad Air Base was subjected to numerous air attacks, sustaining massive damage.
Al Asad Air Base is located in the central portion of Al Anbar Province, western Iraq, some 12 miles from the city of Baghdadi and the Euphrates River. Baghdad is 120 miles to the east; the Syrian border is about 110 miles to the north-west.
The area in which Al Asad Air Base was constructed had a sporadic history that stretched back to Biblical times. Arab legend purported that Abraham and his family stopped at an oasis here during their journey from Ur to Haran. However, there is no mention of this in either the Bible or the Quran. This area was virtually uninhabited until the 1920s when several Iraqi families settled here and established a village known as Eyen Al Asad or “Spring of the Lion.”
In 1985, Saddam Hussein decided to have an air base constructed in the vicinity of the village of Eyen Al Asad and its oasis. He hired Yugoslavians to construct the base.
The air base was originally named Al Qadisiyah Airbase after the May 636 defeat of the Persians by Arab Muslims at the village of Qadisiyah south of Baghdad. As early as 1990, Qadisiyah was commonly referred to as Al Asad Air Base and that name has been used exclusively since 2003.

[RT] Bloomberg staff have reportedly been reprimanded for prematurely breaking the news of a US-Russia exchange.
Bloomberg News has reportedly dismissed one of its journalists and taken disciplinary action against other staff members, after the outlet reported on a historic US-Russia prisoner swap before it was completed.
A total of 26 people were exchanged last week following lengthy negotiations that also involved Germany and Belarus, in the biggest event of its kind since the Cold War. Bloomberg News sparked outrage in the US journalistic corps by releasing its report while a plane carrying freed detainees was on its way from Russia to Türkiye. The media had reportedly been asked by the US government to break the news only after the prisoners had been handed over.
Editor-in-chief John Micklethwait reportedly addressed the incident in an email to the Bloomberg newsroom on Monday, saying the mishap “could have endangered the negotiated swap”.
“Even if our story mercifully ended up making no difference, it was a clear violation of the editorial standards which have made this newsroom so trusted around the world,” he wrote, according to the text of the message circulated by journalists online. Micklethwait said that following an investigation, the outlet has “taken disciplinary action against a number of those involved”.
He said he has written apology letters to each of the prisoners returned from Russia, and also contacted Emma Tucker, his counterpart from The Wall Street Journal, to apologize to her. WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovich, who was sentenced in Russia to a prison term for espionage, was one of the American citizens released under the deal.
Bloomberg’s senior White House reporter, Jennifer Jacobs, who co-bylined the story about the exchange, was fired by the news agency this week, according to multiple reports. She issued a statement on social media, distancing herself from what happened.
”In reporting the story about Evan’s release, I worked hand in hand with my editors to adhere to editorial standards and guidelines,” she wrote. “At no time did I do anything that was knowingly inconsistent with the administration’s embargo or that would put anyone involved at risk ,” she added, referring to Washington’s request.

[Dhaka Tribune] BNP leaders say the loathesomeKhaleda Zia ...Three-term PM of Bangla, widow of deceased dictator Ziaur Rahman, Pak foil, head of the Bangla Nationalist Party, an apparent magnet for corruption ...> is concerned about the nationwide violence, vandalism and looting of state resources amid the student uprising surrounding a round of anti-discrimination student movement programs.
"Our state's resources are being wasted. This country is ours; we have to build this country," she said during a meeting with Maulana Mamunul Haque, secretary general of Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis, at Evercare Hospital in the capital on Tuesday. "And I am here to loot and steal offer my leadership"
Earlier in the day, President Shahabuddin Ahmed set the former premier by commuting her jail sentence in line with Article 49 of the Constitution.
After exchanging greetings, she reminisced about her good relationship with Mamunul's father's late Sheikhul Hadis Azizul Haque.
According to the meeting sources, Khaleda Zia stated that causing harm to people's lives and property constitutes a serious incident. Many people are involved in the looting of state resources, which is unjust, she said.
Asked about this, Khilafat Majlis Joint Secretary General Maulana Ataullah Amin said: "Begum Khaleda Zia is an oppressed woman. We were imprisoned for a long time. Maulana Mamunul Haque was also in jail for a long time. Prisoners love prisoners the most. Under the leadership of Maulana Mamunul Haque, we went to the hospital to enquire about her health."
In response to a question about the meeting, Ataullah said: "The situation in the country is not good. He is concerned about the loss of human life and property. Looting state resources is not the right thing to do. Allah will punish those who do injustice, he said. "Begum Zia has asked for prayers for the people of the country, for herself."
[FoxNews] Comedian and social media influencer Zach Sage Fox went viral for putting a spotlight on anti-Israel protesters who were clueless about the Israel-Hamas war they claim to be so passionate about.
A recent video, "Gaza Graduation," featured Fox offering anti-Israel protesters $100 to correctly answer basic questions about the ongoing war. He asked which river and sea are being referenced in the notorious "from the river to the sea" rallying cry they admitted to chanting, what Hamas claims its No. 1 goal is, how many years Israel occupied Gaza, the definitions of Zionism and intifada, and other pertinent questions. None of the anti-Israel protesters were able to answer correctly, and the video piled up millions of views.
Video at the link.
"I don't think we gave out a single hundred dollar bill the entire time. I mean, no one knew anything," Fox told Fox News Digital.
Fox, who has over 1.1 million followers on TikTok and 51,000 on Instagram, isn’t the typical social media influencer looking for a big break. He attended the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania, co-founded the multimillion-dollar media company Fat Camp Films and has created content for the Disney Channel, Hulu, HBO and other major platforms. He also performs standup comedy, but the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks and subsequent anti-Israel protests were the impetus to create a new type of content.
"I saw journalists not really stepping up to do their job and to not really grill these protesters on who they are, where they're from and what they know. I'm not afraid to just go up and talk to people," he said, noting that he has uncovered "tons of antisemitism" and ignorance with his man-on-the-street videos.
Fox, who always has security with him when filming, never felt endangered when shooting the "Gaza Graduation" video, but previous ones, such as approaching the anti-Israel encampment on his alma mater's campus, were a bit dicey.
"Clearly the universities aren't doing their job," Fox said.
"It was a genuine social experiment that I wanted to conduct," he continued. "When offered a bunch of money, can these protesters, these people that support the pro-Palestine movement, do they know a single thing about it?"
It turned out that the anti-Israel agitators were largely in the dark about what they claim to be so passionate about. Fox said he was somewhat relieved that many of the American college kids don’t even realize they’re "promoting evil" by aligning with the Hamas terror group.
"Maybe there's some hope that we can reteach them, but it’s got to start at the university level," he said.
Fox believes one of the things that made his video resonate was that he put the school and tuition costs on the screen so viewers would know which institutions failed each clueless student.
"These people are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, they don’t know anything about a movement that they’re holding signs for," he said. "They just know nothing."
Fox wants to be a "voice of education" and inspire people to actually learn the truth about the situation in Gaza. He feels Jewish A-listers, including his own comedic idols, should follow his lead as antisemitism has plagued America.
"Where's Larry David? Where is Adam Sandler? I mean, I love these guys. I don't want to say a bad word against them. These are my own idols. But these are Jews, and the fact that they're not stepping up to the plate right now to speak about the horrific rise of antisemitism and misinformation around Jews and the Jewish people, it just makes me want to go out and be that Jewish voice," Fox said.
[IsraelTimes] Ruling out Mashaal, analysts say slain leader’s replacement must have good relations with Shiite powers, as Hamas looks to Iran for post-war support
In choosing its next leader, the Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... terror group will be looking for a candidate who can safeguard deep ties with Tehran, as Iranian support will be more important than ever to help the group recover after the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... war, analysts say.
Hamas has several potential replacements for Ismail Haniyeh ...became Prime Minister of Gaza after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank... , who was assassinated in Tehran last week in an attack widely blamed on Israel, which has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement. They include former leader Khaled Mashaal, who led Hamas for 13 years from outside the Paleostinian territories, before passing the baton to Haniyeh in 2017.
But experts believe his chances could be hurt by past friction with Shiite Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and its regional allies, notably Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Before going into the family business Pencilneck was an eye doctor. If he'd stuck with it he'd have had a good practice by now... . Mashaal was Hamas leader when the group turned on Damascus during the Arab Spring and declared sympathy with the Sunni-led rebellion against him.
Iran’s support will be doubly important to Hamas as it seeks to rebuild once the guns fall silent in Gaza. The territory has been devastated by the fighting in the months since October 7 of last year, when thousands of bully boyz invaded southern Israel, killing some 1,200 people, taking 251 hostages, and sparking the ongoing war.
While Hamas continues to fight in Gaza, 10 months of pummeling by Israel have hit it hard.
This consideration seems likely to boost the prospects of candidates deemed closer to Tehran, including Khalil al-Hayya, currently serving as Hamas’s deputy leader for Gaza, though he left the territory some years ago.
"There might have been some retreat in Mashaal’s chances of taking the place of Haniyeh, because he doesn’t enjoy much support from Iran since he was the one who turned against the Syrian regime and ended the Hamas presence in Damascus," said Ashraf Abouelhoul, a specialist on Paleostinian issues and managing editor of the Egyptian state-owned paper al-Ahram.
"Also the armed wing, which is keen on the concept of rebuilding when the war is over, will be thinking of a candidate whose relations with Iran are strong enough to ensure the rebuilding takes place," he said.
One Hamas official told Rooters the succession had not been settled yet and the deliberations are underway.
HAYYA SAYS HAMAS LEADERSHIP UNITED
Hayya was known to be very close to Haniyeh. He accompanied him to Tehran for the visit during which the Hamas leader was killed in July.
Hayya led Hamas’s negotiating team for hostage-ceasefire talks under Haniyeh’s supervision and also led reconciliation talks with Hamas’s Paleostinian rival Fatah in past years.
Like Haniyeh, he maintained strong relations with Iran and in 2022, he led a Hamas delegation to Damascus to mend ties with Assad, declaring it a historic meeting.
Speaking as Hamas received condolences for Haniyeh’s death in Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... , Hayya said the movement’s leadership remained united.
"Our will is strong and can’t be broken by the martyrdom of one leader or two or three," he said. "God willing, within days, we will conclude our consultations to choose a new leader."
Hani al-Masri, a Paleostinian political analyst, said that in less extraordinary times the group’s Gaza leader, Yahya Sinwar, would have been a candidate.
A criminal mastermind of the October 7 attack, Sinwar is widely believed to still be running Hamas’s war from tunnels under Gaza.
Hayya’s chances are helped by his good ties to the Shiite terror group Hezbollah in Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , the region’s most powerful Iran-aligned faction, which has been trading fire with Israel throughout the Gaza war.
Masri noted Mashaal’s leadership qualities and experience, but said his prospects hinged on healing the rift with Iran: "His weak point is his negative relationships with Iran, Syria and Hezbollah at a time when there is... a joint war."

[Regnum] The government of Niger has decided to immediately sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine. This was reported on August 6 by Agence France-Presse (AFP).
As stated by the official representative of the republic's authorities, Amadou Abdramane, Niamey has decided to sever diplomatic relations with Kiev and "appeal to the UN Security Council in connection with Ukrainian aggression."
The National Council for the Defense of the Homeland, which came to power after a coup in Niger last year, accused the Ukrainian authorities of "supporting terrorist groups."
Earlier, Regnum News Agency reported that the Malian leadership had decided to sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine in connection with the Kiev regime's support for armed terrorists fighting government troops. The reason for this step was the statement by Andrey Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, about Ukraine's involvement "in the cowardly, treacherous and barbaric attack of terrorist armed groups" that led to the war.
The Malian authorities also paid attention to the words of the Ukrainian ambassador to Senegal, Yuriy Pivovarov. As the Malian authorities pointed out, the Ukrainian ambassador "demonstrated his country's unequivocal support for international terrorism, particularly in Mali."
The Malian government emphasized that the country had maintained a neutral position on the conflict in Ukraine. But everything has changed, and now the state is declaring the “neo-Nazi and villainous” rule of the Kyiv rulers.
In turn, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry considered Mali's decision to sever diplomatic relations with the country hasty and short-sighted. The ministry rejected Mali's accusations of supporting international terrorism and emphasized that Kiev reserves the right to take retaliatory political and diplomatic measures against Mali.

[Regnum] Since the beginning of 2024, criminal cases of 88 people accused of corruption in the military-industrial complex have been sent to Russian courts, said the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin on August 6.
Of these, 48 people are defendants in criminal cases involving bribery, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee noted at an operational meeting.
In the first six months, the agency sent 14% more criminal cases on corruption to the courts than in the same period last year. These are mainly cases on bribery. The number of criminal cases brought against persons with special legal status has increased, the agency reported.
“It is necessary to promptly and clearly, in cooperation with operational investigative agencies, identify and strictly suppress theft and misuse of allocated funds, decisively counteract abuses by officials, and give a fundamental legal assessment of all violations of the law,” Bastrykin said.
In the spring and summer of this year, the Russian Investigative Committee opened a number of criminal cases on bribery, in which the defendants are individuals associated with the Ministry of Defense and the military-industrial complex.
Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov, Head of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Defense Yuri Kuznetsov, and Head of the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Vadim Shamarin were accused of accepting a bribe on an especially large scale. Former commander of the 58th Army Ivan Popov is under house arrest in a fraud case.
On July 26, the court arrested the former Deputy Minister of Defense, General Dmitry Bulgakov, in whose criminal case the Gryazinsky Food Plant and JSC Voentorg figure.
On August 5, the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article “Abuse of authority in the execution of a state defense order” (Article 201.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) in connection with the supply of low-quality parts for military transport aircraft.
Today, August 6, the 235th Garrison Military Court arrested the former head of the Defense Ministry’s supply department, Vladimir Demchik.

[Regnum] Two powerful flares of the highest class occurred on the Sun. They were preceded by a series of medium explosions. This was reported by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of IKI and ISTP.
“The continuous barrage of M-class flashes (level 4 on a 5-point scale) nevertheless led to the start of explosions of the highest level 5,” the laboratory’s website said.
Scientists reported that on August 5, two such events occurred on the Sun in a row. First, a flare of level X1.7 with a maximum at 16:40 Moscow time and lasting 30 minutes. And then a second event with a peak between 18:30 (Moscow time) and 18:50 (Moscow time). The preliminary rating of the second flare is X1.2.
It is specified that both explosions were recorded at the edge of the solar disk. In general, the Sun, apparently, is gradually entering a continuous activity mode, the laboratory added.
The Institute of Applied Geophysics reported that at 06:03 (Moscow time) on August 6, they registered an M1.2 flare lasting 18 minutes.
Solar flares are divided into five classes: A, B, C, M and X, depending on the power of X-ray radiation. The smallest class A0.0 corresponds to a radiation power of 10 nanowatts per square meter in Earth orbit, and when moving to the next letter, the power increases by 10 times.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on the night of July 8, scientists registered five strong solar flares. Thus, one of them (flare M1.5) occurred at 00:59 Moscow time and lasted 10 minutes. At 02:23 Moscow time, a flare M1.0 occurred lasting 18 minutes. In the southern hemisphere on the eastern limb, scientists also registered flares M2.5, M1.1 and M1.3.
On June 16, the press service of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory reported the formation of a superspot on the Sun. Scientists warned that it could lead to strong magnetic storms on Earth.

"We should add a Sun tax to address these 'explosions and flare-ups'"
Sure, you can laugh. But if Global Warming is so severe that it is beginning to affect the Sun, then mankind risks not only destroying our planet, but the entire solar system as well.
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... ese army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan will relocate his headquarters to Omdurman to personally lead military operations, a senior army officer said on Tuesday, days before planned peace talks with rival paramilitary forces.
Al-Burhan has been based in the eastern city of Port Sudan since leaving the army headquarters in Khartoum last August amidst fighting with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Assistant army commander Yasir al-Atta told soldiers in Omdurman that al-Burhan had requested a headquarters be prepared for him there, and that it had been equipped. He added that army leaders, including al-Burhan, have no desire to rule the country but are determined to fight the RSF.
The announcement comes ahead of talks scheduled for August 14 in Geneva, mediated by the United States, with Egypt, the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... , the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... , and the UAE participating as observers.
Al-Atta also reiterated accusations that the Forces for Freedom and Change, a civilian political coalition, had instigated the conflict by encouraging the RSF to seize power. But the coalition denies the allegation.

[RT] North Korea ...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche... has bolstered its military capabilities with 250 new tactical ballistic missile launchers amid rising tensions with the US and South Korea, according to the state-run KCNA news agency.
The solemn ceremony marking the transfer of the new weapons took place in Pyongyang on Sunday and was attended by North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un ...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished... and other brass hats. The images shared by the agency show several rows of khaki-colored military vehicles, lined up in front of a large crowd.
While the type of the missiles was unclear, in early July North Korea claimed to have successfully tested the Hwasongpho-11Da-4.5 which can carry a 4.5 ton "super-large warhead" and has a maximum range of 500km, according to KCNA.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) warned the public to stay away from certain areas of the city on Monday night as they dealt with public disorder and violence.
At least one police car was burned with several other fires blazing on Monday evening in the Sandy Row and Donegall Road areas in the southern part of Belfast.
Around a dozen people wearing balaclavas and masks threw petrol bombs at PSNI vehicles as riot officers formed lines.
Earlier, a planned anti-immigration protest at the Clayton Hotel failed to materialise.
Belfast was one of several cities that saw anti-immigration riots on Saturday.
Fireworks were thrown as police attempted to deal with a confrontation between anti-racist protesters and an anti-Islamic rally.

[JustTheNews] ICE started giving free cell phone minutes to detained illegals when families could not visit during COVID-19 lockdowns
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a statement Tuesday about bringing back "free cell phone minutes" for detained illegal immigrants.
During the COVID-19 lockdowns, ICE provided 520 minutes per detainee per month during a pause in in-person visitation. The program, which cost taxpayers $10.2 million, was free to detainees, according to an ICE statement.
ICE resumed in-person visitation after "the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency."
"Significant fiscal challenges" forced ICE to end the cell phone minutes program. ICE stated it "would gladly reinstate the 520 minutes calling program with adequate appropriated funds."

[VK] On August 6, 1915, during the First World War, during the defense of the Osowiec fortress on the Eastern Front, after a German gas attack, about fifty Russian soldiers of the 13th company of the 226th Zemlyansky regiment in a desperate counterattack were able to overthrow the advancing German battalions. The small Russian fortress of Osowiec was an important point of defense of western borders of the Russian Empire, it was located on the Bobra River near the town of Osowice (now Poland) west of the city of Bialystok. Built 23 km from the then border with East Prussia, it was intended to defend the strategic corridor between the Neman and Vistula-Narev-Bug rivers and "locked" the railway and highway routes to Bialystok.
[JustTheNews] The lawsuit notes that the number of registered voters without proof of citizenship has jumped from 21,595 in April to 26,108 in July.
America First Legal has sued Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer over not removing non-citizens from the county voter rolls.
On Monday, AFL filed a lawsuit against Richer, on behalf of Strong Communities Foundation of Arizona and a registered voter and naturalized citizen, for allegedly refusing to verify the citizenship of voters registered in the county.
AFL sent letters to all 15 Arizona counties on July 16, demanding county election officials follow state and federal law by ensuring non-citizens were unable to vote, warning that legal action would be pursued if they didn’t by the following week.
Richer replied through his attorney, claiming that he was following the law by verifying the citizenship of voters. However, AFL argues that Richer’s claim is false because county voter rolls have had an increase in the number of registered voters without confirmed citizenship while he has served in office, and that databases have not been accessed to verify voters’ citizenship.
AFL has sued Richer for allegedly violating state law by not performing the monthly list maintenance required to verify the citizenship status of registered voters who have not provided proof of citizenship.
In Arizona, registered voters without proof of citizenship can vote only in federal elections, not state elections.
The lawsuit alleges the number of registered voters without proof of citizenship has jumped from 21,595 in April to 26,108 in July.
“Maricopa County, in direct violation of state law, is refusing to remove illegal alien voters from the rolls," AFL President Stephen Miller said Tuesday. "We are taking decisive action: suing Maricopa County for unlawfully permitting illegal aliens and foreign citizens to interfere in the 2024 election.”
Richer, a Republican who took office in 2021, lost his primary election for county recorder on July 30 to state Rep. Justin Heap, who ran on fixing issues with Maricopa County's elections.
[Epoch Times] The Supreme Court stated that it will hear San Francisco’s challenge to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) water pollution regulations on Oct. 16. The July 26 announcement came as several water management agencies and local governments filed a brief with the nation’s highest court supporting San Francisco’s position in the case.
The EPA’s generic prohibitions leave the City vulnerable to enforcement based on whether the Pacific Ocean meets state-adopted water quality standards.
The city argued in court papers that the agency’s wastewater discharge rules are so "vague" and "nebulous" that they violate federal law.
The city claims that EPA officials misinterpreted a provision of the federal Clean Water Act of 1972 (CWA) when they issued a wastewater discharge permit. In issuing the permit, the officials deviated from the framework of the statute so much that it had the effect of reviving the old regulatory approach that the law had replaced, according to the city.
According to the city, its most recent permit is one of many issued across the country that failed to notify the permit holders about what they must do to comply with the Clean Water Act.
The city’s permit states that San Francisco may not cause or contribute to "exceedances" of water quality standards. Instead of simply advising the city "how much it needs to control its discharges to comply with the Act," the EPA’s "generic prohibitions leave the City vulnerable to enforcement based on whether the Pacific Ocean meets state-adopted water quality standards," according to the petition.
U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar had urged the Supreme Court in an April 12 brief to not accept the case, writing that wastewater discharge permits are specific enough.

Silly Mercutio! All that $#it is natural and organic
Just think of it as a vaccine, a small dose of infectious agent given to stimulate your immune system. It's not pollution. It's a government-mandated cholera vaccine.

The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores... Shafiqur Rahman along with their party leaders entered the central office. The party’s central committee sat at a meeting there and then its chief addressed a presser there.

Hefajat-e-Islami ...a madrassa-based false nose and mustache of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, formed in 2010 to protest against secular education. He said some opportunistic miscreants attacked vandalized, looted and set fire to a number of government establishments, rivals’ houses, and religious institutions of various religions in different parts of Bangladesh ---in cities and rural areas-- with the advent of a change.
"Those who have conscience and humanity can’t do these acts. That is why our organization is strongly condemning the miscreants who are doing such things repeatedly," said the Jamaat chief.
He said they already urged the people of the country and his party’s leaders and activists to play the role of watchmen where people are in danger as whoever was born in the country is a proud citizen of Bangladesh regardless of caste and religion.
"Here all citizens have equal rights. Here no minority and no majority," said Shafiqur Rahman.

The Jama'at-i-Islamis is an old outfit that was banned shortly after Bangladesh independence. In 1979 it was allowed to openly operated. By 2001 it openly supported Osama Bin Laden was tied with other small radical Islamist parties. The situation got so bad that in 2003 the US State Department warned US citizens in Bangla that they should be ready to leave at a momen't notice. Now after years in the wilderness you can expect the Jama'at to begin raising hell once again.
