Hamas agrees to week-long ceasefire in Gaza
According to IRNA's Thursday report, Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
front man Jihad Taha said in an interview with the New Arab website that the movement had announced its agreement on August 16, when UN Secretary-General António Guterres
...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years...
proposed a week-long ceasefire.

The front man urged that Hamas calls on all humanitarian organizations and institutions to fulfill their humanitarian obligations concerning the Paleostinian people in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip, and that the Israeli occupiers must agree to this ceasefire, they should not evade and postpone it, or put forward alternative options and refrain from complying with the humanitarian ceasefire.

Taha went on to say that the international community must thwart the inhumane actions of the Israeli occupiers, especially their attempt to prevent the plan to start vaccinating about 640,000 children under the age of 10 as well as 50 children born after October 7, 2023.

The New Arab website quoted some Egyptian sources as saying that a humanitarian ceasefire will come into force in Gaza in the next few days to pave the way for implementing a polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set. Currently the disease is only found in Pakistain and Afghanistain...
vaccination campaign.

Egyptian sources also underlined that the expected ceasefire would last for three to five days during daylight hours and would not include areas where Israeli military forces are present.

The sources added that a ceasefire to pave the ground for vaccinating Paleostinian children against polio was discussed in Cairo during a meeting, where US Secretary of State Antony Blinken
...71st United States secretary of state and a leading light of the corrupt and inept Biden administration. He previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under the corrupt and inept Obama administration. He advocated for the 2003 invasion of Iraq while serving as the Democratic staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2002 to 2008. He was a foreign policy advisor for the Biden 2008 presidential campaign. During his tenure in the Obama administration, Blinken helped craft B.O.'s policy on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the nuclear program of Iran. We all saw how well each of those worked. After leaving government service, Blinken moved into the private sector, co-founding WestExec Advisors, a lobbying firm...

Ukraine shoots down £15million Russian fighter jet…
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] … as Zelensky reveals Western-supplied F-16s helped destroy Russian rockets during missile blitz

This is the dramatic moment Ukrainian air forces shot down another of Putin's £15million fighter jets in the latest blow to Russia's stumbling war effort.

A Sukhoi SU-25 attack aircraft is seen exploding in a fireball as it flies over Ukrainian positions around Kramatorsk, Ukrainian sources claimed.

The plane was forced to release flares to distract heat-seeking missiles while flying low with another aircraft in eastern Ukraine, but was reportedly struck before plummeting to the ground.

Anti-aircraft gunners of the 28th separate mechanised brigade took down the latest Su-25 scalp with a man portable air defence missile, the sources said.

Russia has launched devastating attacks inside Ukraine since Kyiv's shock incursion into the Kursk region earlier this month - but damage has been limited by American-supplied F-16s now on hand to destroy foreign rockets, President Zelensky has claimed.

Britain
The imminent collapse of Great Britain
[ZeroHedge] A series of bizarre developments that have unfolded in Great Britain over the last few weeks suggest that its financial system came to the verge of collapse, probably as a consequence of Ukraine’s debt default. The last thing the people in power will tell us is the truth, but if we dig in dark places and connect the dots, I believe the conclusion practically makes itself. The consequences for Britain, and probably for “his majesty’s” other dominions will be extreme. Let’s dive in…

THE RIOTS THAT WEREN’T (QUITE)
The stabbings of three young girls (6, 7, and 9 years of age) that happened in Southport, UK on 29 July apparently unleashed widespread rioting and clashes in Britain, notably between the immigrant Muslim community and what PM Keir Starmer called, right-wing thugs. The authorities' reaction has been nothing short of Orwellian including a radical and ongoing crackdown on free speech.

But it would appear that the riots and clashes haven't been quite as widespread or as violent as the media portrayed them to be. In a recent podcast, Alexander Mercouris pointed out that not only did everything seem calm in London, but that a number of his friends and acquaintances around the UK all told him the same, even for the cities where rioting had been reported. Could it be that the government overreacted and exaggerated the threat in order to justify stepping up its authoritarian control which is now gripping Britain?

Rather than appealing for calm, the government’s messaging clearly aimed at intimidating the population. The UK's Home Office warned that "Actions have consequences," and boasted that over 1,000 arrests have been made thus far. British courts already sentenced many people to stiff prison terms for wrongthink expressed on social media and they made sure that these sentences got wide publicity.

On Friday, 16 August, I joined Tom Luongo at the @CryptoRich podcast to discuss the situation, which turned into a bit of a brainstorming session: given that violent crime and knife stabbings are nothing new in Britain (they've been on the rise for years) and that people's resentment against immigrants isn't new either, it occurred to me to wonder, why is the government turning as radically authoritarian? And why now?

If the crackdown is being deliberately orchestrated and I believe that it is, then what is the reason for it? Our discussion converged on the idea that Britain might be facing an imminent financial crisis which could accelerate her economic and social collapse. My suspicion was that it might have to do with the fact that Britain got overextended in Ukraine trying to regain the leadership, affluence and the prestige which it has been steadily losing over the recent decades.

…A sudden deterioration, which developed during the course of this year seems to be related to the Western powers’ impending military defeat in their proxy war against Russia. Britain has been the principal cheerleader and sponsor of that conflict, and she seems to have gone "in over her head.” In addition to providing at least £7.5 billion in military aid (nearly $10 billion), Britain gave another £5 billion ($6.5 billion) to Ukraine in financial support.

Furthermore, Britain has also guaranteed multiple tranches of World Bank loans to Ukraine and many British financial institutions have purchased billions’ worth of Ukraine's bonds. Others made extensive direct investments there. In the timeline that follows we’ll trace the way Britain’s perfect storm shaped up in Ukraine.
Long and detailed timeline can be read at the link.

More than a century after 48 000 people died in concentration camps in what’s known as the South African War between 1899 and 1902 – or the Anglo-Boer War – the events of that period are back in the headlines.

The camps were established by the British as part of their military campaign against two small Afrikaner republics: the ZAR (Transvaal) and the Orange Free State.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Military Chronicle: Why did the Armed Forces of Ukraine strike the bridges in the Kursk region and what did it lead to
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from a V Kontakte post of Reports from the Novorossiya militia
one hour ago.

[VK] WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?

A week after the start of the operation in the Kursk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a series of strikes on bridges and crossings on the Seim River in the Glushkovsky district. It would seem that the reason for these actions is obvious - the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing another strike and are trying to isolate the area. However, a number of elements indicate the illogicality of what is happening. The

first reports of strikes on bridges appeared on August 12 (!) in the Russian-language segment of the Telegram social network. From there, information began to spread to pro-Ukrainian and Western publications. By August 15-16, strikes on bridges became a popular topic in the media and social networks. At the moment, the topic is still warming up with reports of imminent activation in this area, as if explaining the logic of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

WHAT'S WRONG?
Firstly, practically all Western media and the Ukrainian leadership insist that the key moment in the preparation of the operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation was the strictest secrecy, under which even high-ranking officers learned about the goals of the operation at the last minute.moment. The attacks on bridges, on the contrary, are not only not hidden, but are even emphasized by the Ukrainian command, which published photos and videos.

Secondly, between August 12 and 27, 16 days have passed during which nothing happened.

From a military point of view, such preparation for the operation looks absurd, since it simultaneously reveals intentions, deprives the element of surprise and gives the enemy (in this case, the Russian Armed Forces) time to prepare. In addition, the principled approach contradicts the principles of preparation for the entire operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region.

But what if the Ukrainian Armed Forces are confident in themselves or is this a diversionary maneuver?

Right now they should be less confident than at the beginning of the operation. Irreplaceable (or difficult to replace) resources and reserves have already been spent, high losses have been incurred, and the Russian command has time to deploy reserves. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have not solved the fundamental problems of the entire operation, namely, the dominance of Russian aviation in the air, the superiority of the Russian Armed Forces in artillery and resources. Simply put, time does not work for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They can enter the territory, but it is difficult to hold it.

WHAT CONCLUSIONS CAN BE DRAWN?
Let us make an unpopular (but logical) assumption: the reasons for the attacks on the bridges should be sought not in the military component, but in the media.

Even before the start of the SVO, the Ukrainian special services' strong point was the forces of information and psychological operations. The Ukrainian command knows that the issue of bridges is an irrationally sore spot for a significant part of the Russian media and Telegram channels covering the progress of the SVO.

Thus, regular demonstrative strikes, supported by both Ukrainian and Western information machines, can be organized precisely within the framework of the information and psychological operation.

The goals can be different. For example, to increase tension within the country, force the army leadership to take ill-considered steps and even cause panic on the ground.

Government Corruption
Jim Jordan subpoenas company led by daughter of NY v. Trump judge
[FoxNews] House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, is issuing a subpoena for information on the political work conducted by the daughter of New York State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan.

Jordan sent a letter to Michael Nellis, the founder and CEO of Authentic Campaigns — a company that's done political work for top Democratic clients like President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris — accusing him of failing to comply with House investigators' demands for any and all documents related to the prosecution of former President Trump.

The committee wrote to Loren Merchan, the company's president and Judge Merchan's daughter, earlier this month requesting documents in its probe into Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's case against Trump.

Jordan pointed out in his Wednesday letter that Nellis himself rejected that request as well as a subsequent one later in the month.

"As such, the Committee is left with no choice but to resort to compulsory process," Jordan wrote. "Popularly elected prosecutors, such as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, have engaged in an unprecedented abuse of authority by prosecuting a former President of the United States and current nominee for that office. Of relevance to the Committee’s oversight is the impartiality of Judge Juan Merchan, the presiding trial judge, due to his refusal to recuse himself from the case in light of his apparent conflicts of interest and biases.

"One such conflict is Ms. Merchan’s — daughter of Judge Merchan and President of Authentic Campaigns — work on behalf of President Trump’s political adversaries and the possible financial benefit that Ms. Merchan and Authentic Campaigns received from the prosecution and conviction of President Trump."

Jordan said public reports indicated to him that both Nellis and Loren Merchan were "closely involved in the presidential campaigns of both President Biden and Vice President Harris."

"During Ms. Merchan’s employment with the Harris campaign, Authentic Campaigns received over $7 million in compensation for its services. You also worked for then-presidential candidate Harris and it appears you continue to do so. Authentic Campaigns conducted work for the 2020 Biden-Harris campaign and, according to public records, was paid just over $2 million in a one-month period for its work," he wrote.

The subpoena is narrower in scope than Jordan's previous request for information. His Aug. 1 letter demanded Loren Merchan hand over documents related to any work for Biden and Harris, in addition to any work that refers to Trump's prosecution or indictment.

Jordan is giving Nellis until Sept. 13 to comply, according to the subpoena viewed by Fox News Digital.

Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records in relation to claims he paid an adult film actress to keep quiet about their affair — which the ex-president has denied. His lawyers are appealing that ruling in light of the Supreme Court's July decision fleshing out presidential immunity.

His sentencing hearing is currently scheduled for Sept. 18.

Suspects in preparation of terrorist attacks in Ingushetia turned out to be ISIS supporters
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Those detained for preparing an attack on a church in Sunzha, Ingushetia, and sabotage against law enforcement agencies are supporters of the terrorist group ISIS (an organization whose activities are banned in Russia).
Good to know.
“They are followers of ISIS,” Gazeta.Ru reports a source in law enforcement agencies as saying.

Representatives of the Russian Investigative Committee reported that the suspects had been arrested and a criminal case had been opened.

On August 28, the FSB reported the arrest of six people in Ingushetia who intended to commit a series of terrorist attacks in the region against religious sites and law enforcement officers. They were found to be in possession of a homemade bomb and components for it, firearms and bladed weapons, symbols of a terrorist organization, as well as electronic information carriers with instructions on how to conduct combat operations and make explosive and incendiary devices.

Earlier, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu stated that the situation in the North Caucasus remains difficult, and the region continues to see a trend of increasing extremist and terrorist crimes.

[REGNUM] Tetyushi is a popular tourist town on the Volga in Tatarstan. Guests from all over Russia come here to admire the views - there are no problems with this in Tetyushi. However, there are problems with public catering: according to Yandex. Maps, there is only one cafe in the town, Nur. Its rating is 1.6 stars out of 5. Many users are unhappy with the service and the long wait for orders. And it was here that the shawarma was bought, after eating which an 11-year-old girl died.

On July 23, Tetyushi resident Alexey bought shawarma in Nur and treated his daughter to it. A few hours later, the girl began vomiting and had a sharp stomach ache. She was given medicine. Her condition seemed to improve, but the next night the girl felt very bad again. Her parents called an ambulance.

The girl suffered in hospital for five days: first in the Central Regional Hospital of the city of Tetyushi, then in the Children's Regional Clinical Hospital in Kazan. It was not possible to save the child - on July 27, the 11-year-old girl passed away.

"Forensic medical procedures are being carried out, the cause of death is being established. The Tatarstan Ministry of Health expresses condolences to the girl's family and friends," the press release from the Tatarstan Ministry of Health reports.
Food poisoning, dysentery, E. coli, listeria, amoebic dysentery, etc… there are lots of ways that bad food in the Third World kills millions every year. When Mr. Wife travelled in Egypt, India, and parts beyond, he avoided meat and unbottled water, including foods like salads and fruits washed in water. He even brushed his teeth with bottled water. He still got sick from time to time, but not as often and not as badly.
The report also states that the child's body has been sent for examination, which will help determine the cause of death.

The Nur café is currently sealed, and a report has been drawn up against the owner, individual entrepreneur Razikov. The materials on the inspection results have already been submitted to the court. A criminal case has been opened under the article "Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements."
"Mo didn't have refrigeration, and neither do we!"
The Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Tatarstan published a video that was filmed inside the Nur cafe: at the entrance there is a sign saying “Sanitary day”, the cafe is closed, and investigators are working inside.

An epidemiological investigation was conducted, including sampling of food products, swabs, and examination of cafe employees.
That which is inspected might be improved. That which is not won’t be.
“Serious violations were identified: failure to comply with sanitary and disinfection regulations, storage and preparation conditions, and personal hygiene rules by staff,” says the official commentary from Rospotrebnadzor in Tatarstan.

In 11 food samples and seven surface swabs, specialists identified coliform bacteria.

User reviews of the establishment on the same Yandex.Maps confirm the conclusions of Rospotrebnadzor.

"The atmosphere there is like in a horror movie. The order was made quickly, in about 5 minutes. I ordered a regular shawarma, it turned out to have small bones and cartilage. The juice had black particles, and there was a fly at the bottom. The price is cheap, the shawarma cost 180 rubles + juice 45 rubles per glass. I do not advise anyone to go here," is one of the typical reviews.

The dead girl's father, Alexey, told journalists from Tatarstan that his daughter had never complained of stomach pains before. However, a few days before the girl's poisoning, her brother had eaten shawarma in this cafe - he was fine.
The shawarma was a few days younger then. Whatever was growing in it hadn’t grown as much.
Officials from the administration of the Tetyushsky municipal district even suggested that the girl could have been poisoned by mushrooms, not shawarma.

In a conversation with the Regnum news agency, Moscow-based general practitioner Tatyana Smolenskaya urges people to wait for the results of pathological examinations, but already now, judging by the nature of the girl’s poisoning, Smolenskaya is leaning towards the shawarma version.

"The fatal role was played by the fact that they called an ambulance too late. Ordinary people, not being doctors, always think that if a person feels better after vomiting, they were given activated carbon, then the danger has passed. But salmonellosis or staph infection continues to develop," the doctor says.

Perhaps, the interlocutor of IA Regnum suggests, the girl had a weakened immune system - at 11 years old, hormonal changes in the body begin, and due to their age, children are especially susceptible to the development of immunopathological reactions.

"Another person would have just had a stomach ache, but here severe intoxication set in. In general, I will remind you once again that shawarma in the heat is a dangerous dish. Especially if the cafe was unsanitary," the doctor comments on the tragedy.

The Tetyushi incident is not the first time this summer that consumers have suffered from shawarma. In mid-July, 17 migrant workers sought medical help with signs of food poisoning after eating shawarma bought at retail outlets in the north of Moscow, on Dmitrovskoye Shosse. All were taken to hospital with a diagnosis of salmonellosis.

In July, it became known that the Russian quality system was preparing to introduce a GOST for shawarma. Roskachestvo representatives conducted inspections of 29 major shawarma brands and only one of them did not record any violations.

In addition, in June in Bashkiria, after almost a year of proceedings, the “shawarma trial” was completed: local entrepreneurs were ordered to pay 800 thousand rubles for moral damages caused to a resident of Salavat after he was poisoned by shawarma in a cafe.

Back in April 2023, a man bought a shawarma and felt unwell shortly after eating it. An ambulance took the victim to the intensive care unit of a city hospital in critical condition. From there, he was discharged with a diagnosis of "severe acute tubulointerstitial nephritis against the background of salmonellosis caused by Salmonella enteritidis, hemodialysis, tracheostomy, tracheal decannulation."

The court partially satisfied the victim's claim. In a conversation with the Regnum news agency, the man said that he had problems with his lungs, and the victim, according to him, had found it more difficult to remember information, which created significant problems for him at work.

In general, doctors offer the main working solution to avoid becoming a victim of shawarma and other fast food: eat it only in trusted places. If there are none, the recipe is even simpler - do not eat at all, wait until you get home.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
'Set up by a drug-addict husband.' How a government official arrested for terrorism lived
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Ivan Runev

[REGNUM] Victoria Shinkaruk is a former employee of the Belgorod Region administration and a social media star. The girl grew up in a dysfunctional family, according to her friends, she "made herself", and now she has become a defendant in a criminal case, for which she faces more than 20 years in prison.

Investigators believe that the girl with model looks collaborated with Ukrainian curators and helped in preparing terrorist attacks in the Belgorod region.

The 28-year-old Victoria Shinkaruk is accused of illegal trafficking of explosives or explosive devices (Article 222.1, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), smuggling of explosives and weapons (Article 226.1, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), organizing a terrorist community and participating in it (Article 205.4, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), public calls to commit terrorist activity, attempted public calls to commit terrorist activity, justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism (Article 30, Part 1, Article 205, Part 2, paragraph a), as well as attempted illegal manufacture of explosives or explosive devices (Article 30, Part 1, Article 223.1, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In total, the accused faces up to 25 years in prison.

According to investigators, Shinkaruk and her accomplice, mechanic Alexander Kholodkov, transferred money to unknown persons to prepare a terrorist attack, and also hid explosives in hiding places.

In September 2022, the former official withdrew 100,000 rubles from the card, and Kholodkov withdrew 500,000. They hid the money in a place indicated by the curator. According to law enforcement, following the instructions of the curator, Kholodkov left explosives and money necessary for carrying out a terrorist act in hiding places.
Thank goodness she didn’t hide them in finding places — think of the innocents she protected thereby.
The former official has been in the Lefortovo pretrial detention center for almost two years. In early August 2024, her case was transferred to the 2nd Western District Military Court of Moscow. The first hearing, scheduled for August 27, was postponed due to the failure of witnesses to appear.

There was little public information about Victoria Shinkaruk. She worked as an inspector in the control department of the Belgorod Region governor's administration and, judging by her social media pages, had an above-average income: she spent a lot of money, visited premium establishments and often flew on vacation.

Regnum news agency correspondents found out details of the accused’s biography.

Shinkaruk was born in the village of Nikolskoye in the Bogorodsky District of the Belgorod Region. Her mother Svetlana did not take part in her daughter's upbringing: she was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for hooliganism and appearing in public places in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

Victoria was raised by her grandmother, who essentially replaced her mother. Now, while Victoria is in pretrial detention, her grandmother supports her and communicates with lawyers.

Victoria's relatives convince IA Regnum that the girl was pushed onto the criminal path by her husband Evgeny Kisel, who several years ago escaped from house arrest to relatives in Ukraine. From there, the man sent his wife money for gifts. At his request, Victoria cashed 107,000 rubles and left them in a bag drawer in one of the supermarkets.

During the investigation, Shinkaruk stated that she did not know what the money was intended for. The ex-official's relatives do not believe that she acted intentionally.

"I'm sure she wouldn't have gone against Russia on purpose. She's a calm, adequate person, not crazy. I think her husband really set her up with the money transfer. She simply believed his words, they've been married for about six years. He's still a husband, after all," one of the accused's relatives told the publication.

35-year-old Evgeny Kisel has been repeatedly charged with drug use and has committed various administrative offences. According to Victoria's relative, the man escaped from house arrest three years ago when he was facing imprisonment.

"When he was 'accepted' again, they released him under house arrest. It seems he was facing about 10 years in prison for distributing (drugs. - Ed.). He sat at home with a bracelet for some time, and then managed to escape to Ukraine - he has relatives there.
Ah. A Ukrainian terrorist, not a jihadi terrorist. Got it.
And from there he sometimes sent money to Vika - for her birthday, for example," recalls Victoria's relative.

As it turned out, a Kharkov resident named Stas Shpak sent money to Yevgeny Kisel, who was in Russia at the time, long before the start of the SVO. On his social media pages, Shpak speaks unflatteringly about Russia, claims that “Belgorod is Ukraine” and rejoices at the deaths of Russian politicians, such as Vladimir Zhirinovsky.

Nothing is known about Yevgeny Kisel's political views.

Victoria Shinkaruk's acquaintances call her a good girl. Regnum correspondents spoke with Victoria's close friend, Alexander. The man said that before working in the Belgorod administration, she worked for a long time in a local boutique, earning her own living.

"I don't believe that she could do anything against the country. She is a very smart girl, very attractive, in all the time we talked I never heard her make any questionable statements. She loves our country. She always worked very hard, without days off - she made herself. It's a pity that it all turned out this way. I doubt that she could do something like that," the man said.

Another friend of Victoria's, Sergei, believes that the girl was let down by her naivety and gullibility.

"She and her husband divorced in 2021. He was strange, he wanted to open some businesses, but he had no money. She loved him, for some reason she always trusted him. For us as her friends, this was always surprising: he was a drug addict, but she believed that he definitely did not wish her harm.

I think he brainwashed her, that this money would supposedly help him avoid a "criminal case" for drugs, and she, a fool, just wanted to help. Now she can lose her youth, the opportunity to start a family," Sergey told IA Regnum.

However, not all of Shinkaruk's acquaintances believe in her innocence. One of Victoria's acquaintances, Liliya, told IA Regnum that anyone can be a traitor to the Motherland - and Shinkaruk's case proves it.

The accused Shinkaruk and Kholodkov do not admit their guilt.

19:09 Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk explained why Poland does not shoot down drones and missiles flying into its territory: "Often, it is the fractions of a second that make it impossible to check whether it is a civilian object or whether it is a lost plane."

19:00 NATO countries will increase aid to Ukraine, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said following a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council. "Minister Umerov briefed on Russia's latest air attacks, the combat situation in Donbas and the goals of the Kursk operation. He thanked the allies for their recent pledges of aid and the F-16s that are in action," the NATO diplomat told reporters.

16:49 Ukraine has for the first time announced suspicion of war crimes against a foreign general, the Prosecutor General's Office reported. We are talking about an Iranian citizen - the head of a group of Iranian instructors who not only trained Russian military personnel to use drones, but also helped them use them against civilian targets in Ukraine. If the suspect ends up in a country with which Ukraine has diplomatic relations, that country will be obliged to detain him. According to the investigation, in 2022, Iran transferred at least 1,500 drones to the Russians, which were used for numerous attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and civilians.

16:32 In Kryvyi Rih, the number of victims as a result of today's Russian attack has increased to nine, said the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA Serhiy Lysak. The blast wave and debris damaged more than 230 cars, a service station, administrative buildings, and a vocational school.

15:58 In Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, banks will be open until the end of the week, and from Monday, September 2, only ATMs will remain, said OVA head Vadim Filashkin. There are still 38 thousand people and about 1900 children left in the city. Filashkin emphasized that they must all be evacuated.

15:30 The Verkhovna Rada has agreed to increase the military tax to 5% and introduce it for sole proprietors. The head of the parliamentary finance committee, Danylo Getmantsev, reported that the military tax will be directed through a special fund exclusively to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

15:09 Not only Great Britain but also France supports permission for long-range strikes against Russia, but the United States and Germany are against it, as they are concerned about the risk of escalation, writes the Financial Times. According to the newspaper, London has been arguing to Washington for several months that Ukraine should be given this permission, and earlier this summer sent a request to Washington and Paris. However, the British government admits that such a contentious issue requires consensus among Western allies.

14:31 The idea of shooting down Russian missiles over Ukrainian territory is met with skepticism in NATO countries, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamisz said: "No country will make such decisions on its own. I have not seen anyone in NATO who supports making such a decision." The minister noted that he "understands President Zelensky," but "our role is to make decisions in accordance with the interests of the Polish state."

14:15 There is not a single hydroelectric power station in Ukraine that has not yet been attacked by Russia, said Igor Sirota, CEO of Ukrhydroenergo. According to him, more than 130 missile strikes have been carried out on hydroelectric power station generation. Ukrainian hydroelectric power stations have lost about 40% of their generation as a result of the attacks, and thermal power stations - more than 80%.

14:02 The BBC Russian Service calculated that drones have attacked oil refineries in Russia at least 64 times since the beginning of the year. Journalists noted that at the beginning of the year, the attacks occurred mainly on oil refineries that were important for the domestic market, but the situation changed in the spring: strikes were carried out on factories producing products for military equipment. It is still unclear how exactly such large-scale fires will affect production in the Russian Federation and the prices of oil products.

13:48 Russian publics report a fire at the Ryazan State District Power Plant. Before that, according to eyewitnesses, an explosion thundered there. Now the thermal power plant is engulfed in smoke, there are no official reports.

13:06 In Krivoy Rog, the number of victims as a result of today's Russian attack has increased to eight, said the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, Serhiy Lysak. A garage cooperative and 12 cars were damaged, and windows in a hotel were broken.

12:57 The Russian Federation's Unified Dispatch Service reported that the "object" in the city of Kotelnich in the Kirov region was attacked by five drones, the fire has already been localized, there are no casualties. At the same time, the governor previously stated that there was allegedly no fire as a result of the attack on the oil storage tank. Russian publics noted that Ukrainian drones attacked the Kirov region for the first time.

12:45 Peskov once again stated that there are no prerequisites for negotiations on Ukraine at the moment. He also believes that the countries of the "collective West" are already directly involved in the war in Ukraine, and "forays by the Ukrainian Armed Forces" like the invasion of the Kursk region "escalate tensions to the limit" and are a reason for "concern about the possibility of a global conflict."

12:22 The Atlas oil depot in the Rostov region was hit by Ukrainian-made attack UAVs as part of a joint operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Special Operations Forces, Ukrainian media write, citing intelligence sources. According to eyewitnesses, the fire is still raging in the depot's tanks.

11:53 In Kiev, military medical commissions will work around the clock. As reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration, the Capital Defense Council has reorganized the work of mobilization centers - in particular, the composition of the centers and the operating mode have been clarified "to ensure round-the-clock medical examinations and guaranteed implementation of mobilization measures."

11:26 Russians have attacked Krivoy Rog again, as of now there are three victims, said the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA Serhiy Lysak. Infrastructure and cars were damaged in the city.

11:02 The Telegraph writes that London supports Ukraine being given permission to strike targets in Russia with Storm Shadow missiles, but is not publicly calling for this because it fears worsening relations with the US. According to the publication, Prime Minister Keir Starmer does not want to "provoke a scandal" and is taking a "consultative approach" to negotiations with Washington after diplomatic scandals under the previous Conservative government.

10:55 Russians dropped an aerial bomb on the village of Izmailovka in the Pokrovsky district of Donetsk region - as a result of the bomb hitting a house, an entire family of four people died, including a 17-year-old teenager, the prosecutor's office reported.

10:46 A UAV attacked a storage tank for petroleum products in the city of Kotelnich in the Kirov region; there were no casualties or fire, said Governor Alexander Sokolov.

He also said that the number of victims as a result of yesterday's Russian strike on the city of Bogodukhov has increased to eight, one person died. Another person was injured in the village of Pyatigorskoye in the Izyum district, the villages of Kazachya Lopan and Tsirkuny in the Kharkiv district.

08:47 The Wall Street Journal Nova reports, citing new US intelligence data, that since Ukraine began receiving ATACMS missiles, Russia has moved 90% of its aircraft to military bases outside the range of these missiles. According to the publication, despite Ukraine’s increased calls for the US to lift the ban on the use of ATACMS in Russia and the heaviest shelling of the war this week, the Biden administration has no plans to change its position.

08:31 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has counted 245 military facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation that Ukraine could hit using long-range Western weapons. However, only 16 of these facilities (6.5%) are air bases. In this way, analysts responded to reports in the Western media that the redeployment of Russian combat aircraft from airfields located within the ATACMS radius of action allegedly reduces the validity or importance of the Ukrainian request.

ISW analysts emphasize that such a redeployment of aircraft does not in any way diminish the importance of the Ukrainian request from the United States to use long-range weapons on Russian territory, since the ATACMS radius of action includes many other military and paramilitary facilities.

08:19 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of August 28:

  • personnel - about 611,190 (+1090) people,

  • tanks - 8568 (+5),

  • combat armored vehicles - 16,681 (+14),

  • artillery systems - 17,522 (+27),

  • MLRS - 1174 (+1),

  • air defense systems - 938 (+1),

  • aircraft - 368 (+1),

  • helicopters - 328 (+0),

  • Operational-tactical level UAVs - 14,348 (+94),

  • cruise missiles - 2553 (+6),

  • ships/boats - 28 (+0),

  • submarines - 1 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tank trucks - 23,654 (+41),

  • special equipment - 2950 (+6).

07:52 The death toll from the Russian strike on a hotel in Krivoy Rog on the night of August 27 has risen to four - another body was found under the rubble, said the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, Serhiy Lysak.

07:41 Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState reports that the Russian army has occupied Memrik and Kalinovo in the Pokrovsk direction, and has also advanced in Novogrodovka, Konstantinovka, near Mikhailovka, Lesovka and Vodyanoye.

07:35 In the Voronezh region, UAVs attacked an ammunition depot at night. The governor reported that after the drone attack, a fire broke out "near explosive objects." According to local residents, the UAVs attacked an ammunition depot in the village of Malaya Mezhenka. Residents of this village and the village of Evstratovka were first evacuated and later allowed to return home.

In addition, in the Kamensky district of the Rostov region, after a night attack by drones, a fire broke out at the Atlas Rosrezerv oil storage facility, publics write. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that during the night, air defense forces shot down eight drones over the Voronezh region and four more over the Rostov region.

07:28 Air defense unit fighters of the 28th separate separate brigade reported that they shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in the Kramatorsk direction; the fate of the crew is still unknown.

00:27 The head of the Starodubsky district of the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, Alexander Podolny, was wounded during a UAV attack on the village of Kurkovichi, reported Governor Alexander Bogomaz.

Bangladesh
Bangladesh revokes ban imposed on Jamaat-e-Islami by ex-PM Hasina
[GEOTV] Bangladesh's caretaker government revoked a ban on the country's main, Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
party and its affiliated groups on Wednesday, saying it has not found evidence of their involvement in "terrorist activities".

Former prime minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and now exiled former Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She was President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia showed such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums. That is probably because Khaleda's late husband was the Pak tool who had Mujib assassinated...
's government had banned its rival political party under an anti-terrorism law, blaming it for stoking deadly violence during student-led protests that turned into an uprising against Hasina, forcing her to resign and flee to India on August 5.

A gazette notification on Wednesday by the caretaker government that replaced Hasina's administration said there was "no specific evidence of involvement of Jamaat" and its affiliates "in terrorist activities".

The party has denied allegations that it stoked violence and had condemned the ban as "illegal, extrajudicial and unconstitutional."

Jamaat-e-Islami has not been able to contest elections of 2014, 2018 and 2024 in Bangladesh after a court said in 2013 its registration as a political party conflicted with Bangladesh's secular constitution.

Shishir Monir, a lawyer for the party, said it will file a petition early next week at the Supreme Court to seek restoration of its registration.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Israeli strike kills 4 in Syria near Lebanon border
[NAHARNET] Four people were killed in an Israeli strike that hit a car in Syria near the border with Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...

JD Vance 'Tries to Tether Harris' to the Biden-Harris Administration
[Breitbart] In what is being described as stark "gaslighting" by many readers on social media, Politico published an article claiming that former President Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
’s running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) "tried to tie Harris" to the Biden-Harris administration’s policies while speaking at a rally in Big Rapids, Michigan, on Tuesday.

"Vance tries to tether Harris to Biden during Michigan rally," read a Tuesday X post by Politico, citing the article.

In the piece, Politico news hound Mia McCarthy amusingly writes, "Speaking at a rally in Big Rapids, Michigan, former President Donald Trump’s running mate tried to tie Harris to the Biden administration’s policies."

Politico’s X post was quickly issued a "Community Notes" correction advising the public that "Harris is currently President Biden’s Vice President."

Social media users, meanwhile, slammed Politico in the comment section and accused the outlet of "gaslighting," a term the American Psychological Association (APA) defines as "to manipulate another person into doubting their perceptions, experiences, or understanding of events."

"We’ve reached apex gaslighting, people. It doesn’t get any more ’believe us and not your own eyes’ than this," one X user reacted.

"This is a level of media gaslighting I’ve never seen before. Holy fucking shit," another wrote, before proclaiming, "SHES HIS GOD DAMN VICE PRESIDENT! RIGHT NOW! SHES IN OFFICE! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!"

"I didn’t even know this level of gaslighting was possible," a third echoed.

"Harris is tied to Biden because... wait for it..... SHE IS HIS VICE PRESIDENT," another X user exclaimed.

"How dare he tie Harris to the Biden/Harris administration!" another quipped.

"Tries? She tethered herself to him," another informed.

Vance also reacted to Politico’s post, writing, "The thing is: she’s Biden’s Vice President."

Cities across US make rare move to spray chemicals through streets in response to onslaught of deadly mosquito-borne infections
[Daily Mail, where Amica gets its news] Cities America are spraying chemicals through their streets in response to a rise in several deadly mosquito-borne illnesses, in an unprecedented move.

Massachusetts, New York, Texas and California are among the states deploying pesticides to repel the increasingly disease-ridden insects.

The decision comes on the heels of an onslaught of mosquito-borne illnesses throughout the US, including West Nile Virus, which hospitalized White House Covid doctor Anthony Fauci this month, 'Triple E', a brain-swelling disease that has killed two Americans so far this year, and 'sloth fever', a disease transmitted from sloths to mosquitos.

Officials are spraying the streets at night when people are less likely to be outside to reduce residents' exposure to the chemicals, which can be harmful to breathe in or ingest. The doses will also be 'ultra-low volume'.

Other areas have taken equally drastic measures, including imposing curfews to limit people's exposure to mosquito bites.

A number of Americans have died from mosquito-borne illnesses this year, including a New Hampshire man who died from EEE earlier this month. It was the state's first human case in 10 years.

In Massachusetts, towns in southern Worcester County and Plymouth County have taken an aggressive approach to fighting mosquito-borne illness this month after an 80 year old man from Worcester County caught EEE - the state's first human case since 2020.

EEE is a rare but serious virus that spreads to humans via infected mosquito bites. It causes swelling in the brain, and roughly 30 percent of infected people do not survive.

To curb the spread of this virus, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health will spray the pesticide Anvil 10+10 from trucks and planes overnight, starting shortly after dusk and ending in the early morning.

In addition to pesticide spraying, officials in Oxford, MA instated a voluntary curfew urging residents to stay inside after 6p.m. to avoid mosquito bites.

And in Plymouth, MA, officials have ordered parks to close from dusk until dawn when mosquitos are most active.

Meanwhile, New York City, Arlington, and San Jose will be battling a different disease: West Nile Virus. WNV is the leading cause of mosquito-borne disease in the continental US.

In most cases, the virus causes no symptoms or mild flu-like symptoms. But roughly one in 150 cases turn severe and life-threatening, causing swelling of the brain, the membranes surrounding the brain or the spinal cord.

In New York City, there have been six severe cases of West Nile Virus this year. None of them were fatal, but the city has moved to spray pesticides in parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn to reduce the risk.

The city's Department of Health is using trucks to spray the pesticides Anvil 10+10, Duet or MERUS 3 overnight.

Texas has reported 37 cases West Nile Virus in 2024 - more than any other US state. One of these cases was fatal.

Recently, three mosquitos in the city of Arlington tested positive for the virus, prompting city officials to schedule overnight pesticide spraying in select locations.

In select areas throughout Arlington, contractors will spray a pesticide called Aqua-Reslin, which kills adult mosquitos.

In Santa Clara County, California, a resident died of West Nile Virus earlier this month, and another was hospitalized. West-Nile-positive mosquitos have also been detected in San Jose and the surrounding area.

The pesticides used for this treatment are Zenivex E4 and Merus 3.0 - both of which are highly effective mosquito-control treatments.

All four of these cities will spray pesticides at 'ultra-low volume,' which means they will not pose significant health risks to residents and no one will have to relocate during the treatment.

Officials have also schedule spraying at night when people are less likely to be outside to reduce residents' exposure to these chemicals.

Some data suggests that the risk of mosquito-borne illness is rising in the US as rising global temps allow infected mosquitos to expand their range.

Cases of Dengue Fever, for example, increased over 800 percent in the US between 2021 and 2022, according to Vector Disease Control International.

In most cases, mosquito-borne illnesses are not fatal. But they can make an infected person very sick.

As cases of mosquito-borne illnesses rise in the US, cities may have to spray pesticides more frequently.

But there are things you can do to protect yourself from mosquito bites and reduce your risk of disease.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends wearing loose-fitting clothes that cover your skin, applying insect repellant, and putting screens on windows and doors to prevent them from getting inside.

South Korea faces deepfake porn 'emergency'
[BBC] South Korea’s president has urged authorities to do more to "eradicate" the country’s digital sex crime epidemic, amid a flood of deepfake pornography targeting young women.
Struggling sex workers unite!
Authorities, journalists and social media users recently identified a large number of chat groups where members were creating and sharing sexually explicit "deepfake" images — including some of underage girls.

Deepfakes are generated using artificial intelligence, and often combine the face of a real person with a fake body.
Ah.. The issue is not the p0rn, but that real girls’ faces are being attached to it, ruining their reputations. Nasty.
South Korea’s media regulator is holding an emergency meeting in the wake of the discoveries.

UNDERAGE VICTIMS
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Tuesday instructed authorities to "thoroughly investigate and address these digital sex crimes to eradicate them".

"Recently, deepfake videos targeting an unspecified number of people have been circulating rapidly on social media," President Yoon said at a cabinet meeting.

"The victims are often minors and the perpetrators are mostly teenagers."

The spate of chat groups, linked to individual schools and universities across the country, were discovered on the social media app Telegram over the past week.

Users, mainly teenage students, would upload photos of people they knew — both classmates and teachers — and other users would then turn them into sexually explicit deepfake images.

The discoveries follow the arrest of the Russian-born founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, on Saturday, after it was alleged that child pornography, drug trafficking and fraud were taking place on the encrypted messaging app.

If You Want To See Where America Is Heading, Look To 1453
One of the best reads (aside R-Burg comments) I've experienced this year.
A few key paragraphs below:

[AmericanThinker] Although the rising Ottoman empire, by 1500, would stretch from the modern states of Algeria to Yemen to Hungary, in 1453, Constantinople was still Christian and a major thorn in the side of Muslim Sultan Mehmed II. He planned to fix that.

By late May, after besieging the city for two months and making no headway, Mehmed prepared to retreat. A small number of his advisors suggested giving the siege one last day before they withdrew. Mehmed agreed, and on May 29, the Ottomans threw everything they had at the city. Constantinople’s defenders repulsed the first three Ottoman assaults, and the Ottoman generals despaired at the prospect of defeat.

But then one of the great turning points in history happened. Among the 40,000 defenders (against an Ottoman force of approximately 80,000) were 700 Genoese fighters defending the most vulnerable parts of the walls. The defenses stretched thin, these Genoese warriors, led by their captain Giovanni Giustiniani, had held the Turks at bay for two months.

Through the third assault of the day, the Genoese had performed impeccably, and the smell of victory was beginning to waft through the defenses. At that very moment, however, just as the fourth and final assault was commencing, Giustiniani was shot. Wounded, Giustiniani commanded his troops to evacuate him from the city. Either because of a miscommunication or because they were afraid they could not succeed without Giustiniani, all 700 Genoese abandoned the walls and left the most vulnerable defenses unprotected.

Seeing their opportunity, the Ottomans made their move before the city’s defenders could divert reinforcements, breaching the walls and taking the city. Mehmed would later make Constantinople the capital of the Ottoman Empire.

Ultimately, Constantinople fell because it didn’t have the resources to defend itself effectively.
Couldn't chew gum and walk at the same time?
It repeatedly pleaded with Christian rulers across Europe for help repelling the Ottoman army. Most of the West’s caterwauling kings and nobles, however, had been too busy with their domestic concerns, dynastic infighting, and petty jealousies to bother sending support. As a result, a mere 700 men, or in reality, one man, were the only things that had protected what was seen as the Christian bulwark against the Muslim menace in the east. When they (or he) fell, the city fell.

There are lessons to be had from the kings’ and nobles’ inaction. How many times have you heard pro-lifers say they can’t vote for Trump because they feel he’s soft on abortion? Or free-market advocates say they can’t vote for Trump because he supports tariffs? Or someone who says he won’t vote because everyone’s corrupt?

We all know Trump is flawed. But the reality is that we’re all flawed. We know more about Trump’s flaws because he spends so much time talking—and the media spend so much time talking about him. I dare anyone to speak for a fraction of the time Trump does and not leave a trail of breadcrumbs that the propaganda ministry can’t use to paint you as Satan.

#4  Raymond Ibrahim in "Sword and Scimitar" gives a quite horrific description of the events of that day and beyond, from primary Christian and Muslim sources. The events in the Hagia Sophia are described in gruesome detail:

"...we have primary source documents describing exactly what the Turks and Sultan Muhammad did after conquering Constantinople and its Hagia Sophia in 1453. (All quotes in the following narrative were derived from contemporary sources, mostly eyewitnesses, as documented in chapter 7 of my book, Sword and Scimitar.)

Once inside the city on May 29, 1453, the "enraged Turkish soldiers . . . gave no quarter": When they had massacred and there was no longer any resistance, they were intent on pillage and roamed through the town stealing, disrobing, pillaging, killing, raping, taking captive men, women, children, old men, young men, monks, priests, people of all sorts and conditions...
Because thousands of citizens had fled to and were holed up in Hagia Sophia, the ancient basilica offered an excellent harvest of slaves, once its doors were axed down. "One Turk would look for the captive who seemed the wealthiest, a second would prefer a pretty face among the nuns. . . . Each rapacious Turk was eager to lead his captive to a safe place, and then return to secure a second and a third prize. . . . Then long chains of captives could be seen leaving the church and its shrines, being herded along like cattle or flocks of sheep."
A great deal more detail from primary sources is at the link.

-Land of the Free
The Era of Gentlemanly Conduct in War is at an End-Thought Piece US Naval Proceedings-Arm the Next-Generation Medical Ship
By Rear Admiral Michael S. Baker and Captain Frederick M. Burkle Jr., U.S. Navy (Retired), and Jacob B. Baker
The set-up:
[USNI] An unarmed hospital ship is a sitting duck for attackers and hostage takers. The United States is making a serious mistake by not providing the next-generation expeditionary medical ship with self-defense capabilities.

Today’s global environment is more dangerous than ever. The full-scale land war in Ukraine, the Israeli ground invasion of Gaza in response to the Hamas terrorist attacks, and a more than decade-long civil war in Syria are only a few of the 110 ongoing identifiable armed conflicts.1 Transnational terrorism and organized crime also are on the rise. The International Chamber of Commerce International Maritime Bureau’s annual report indicates piracy and armed attacks on ships remain a serious and escalating problem. The report cites 132 actual and attempted incidents in 2021 and 115 in 2022.2 According to a regional information sharing center, the number of robbery incidents in the Singapore Strait reached an eight-year high in 2023. And in the Red Sea today, Houthi rebels are attacking ships, disrupting global commerce.3

Against this backdrop, Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro
remember when Spain ruled the waves?
in May 2023 announced the USNS Bethesda (EMS-1) will be the first in a class of new expeditionary medical ships (EMS) designed for distributed maritime operations.4 The Bethesda-class EMSs will be painted white, display a red cross, be manned by a civilian crew, and presumably be unarmed or minimally armed. This makes them highly vulnerable in today’s tumultuous security environment.5 It is incredibly dangerous for Navy leaders not to recognize the current risk environment and stick with decisions made in a bygone era, buttressed only by wishful thinking.

City residents with local registration will be able to enter freely, while others will need to obtain passes. In addition, all employees of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant and the NPP-2 construction site must contact their management regarding the pass regime. Smirnov explained that such measures were taken "due to the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not giving up their attempts to enter the city."

11:01 Russian publics write that the Kursk-Rylsk highway was closed to civilian traffic due to the high density of attacks by Ukrainian FPV drones. This is the main supply road for the Russians fighting near Kursk.

Afghanistan
Afghanistan''s Taliban government bans ''violent'' mixed martial arts
“Don’t you dare even think of learning to defend yourselves against those beloved of Allah! Your only job is to know yourselves rightfully conquered in Allah’s name, and to obey.”
[GEOTV] Afghanistan's Taliban
...Arabic for students...
government has banned mixed martial arts (MMA), as per their sports authority's statement issued on Wednesday.

The order was passed down by Afghanistan's morality police in the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice after an investigation into the sport's compliance with their own interpretation of Islamic law, the statement and local media said.

"It was found that the sport is problematic with respect to sharia and it has many aspects which are contradictory to the teachings of Islam," the Taliban government sports authority said in a statement sent to AFP.

"That's why this decision has been made to ban mixed martial arts in Afghanistan."

A sports authority official told local media MMA was banned in part because it was considered too violent mostly peaceful and posed the risk of injury or death.

The Taliban authorities returned to power in 2021, implementing their strict interpretation of "Islamic law".

They recently ratified a morality law formalising many rules on behaviour and dress, including that men must not wear shorts above the knee.

#6  As goes Aurora, eventually goes Denver, being a bit of a spillover from the downtown and sports complex neighborhoods. Everyone who could has moved north of the metroplex.

It does occupy a key section of transportation in/out/around Denver. How this gets handled, or not handled, will set a tone nationwide.

But don't worry children. They'll put a slide opening on your front door, and they'll bring you food and drugs, and your mail which doesn't contain money or ransom or mail in ballet, and you can just stay in your apartment forever. Oh you need new clothes? Well Emiliano there has needs too.

Police Let Violent Knife and Sex Offenders Off if They Say Sorry
[Breitbart] Violent knife and sex offenders can increasingly escape prosecution if they show contrition and say sorry, a report Wednesday claims.

According to the Daily Telegraph, more than 147,000 people accused of offences including sex crimes, violence and weapons possession across the UK were given community resolutions in the year to March instead of being prosecuted.

Such resolutions do not result in a criminal record. The outlet set out the terms applied to each case of forgiveness against a background of jail overcrowding:

Police guidance says community resolutions should be restricted to low-level crimes, with offenders required to apologise to the victim, accept “responsibility” for their crime and offer some form of recompense.

But the resolutions, which are issued at the discretion of individual officers, have increased by 40 per cent since 2019 – when 102,574 were recorded – and are now nearly twice as likely as a criminal charge, according to an analysis of Ministry of Justice data.

The surge comes amid a deepening crisis in the criminal justice system. Prisons are so full that the Government is releasing thousands of criminals early next month in the wake of the riots, while police have raised concerns that any worsening of jail overcrowding could limit their ability to make arrests.

Jess Phillips, the Home Office minister responsible for safeguarding, has ordered a review of the police response to “non-contact” sexual offences.

This issue was reportedly raised by the inquiry into the rape and murder of Sarah Everard by Pc Wayne Couzens, who had a history of exposing himself to women.

Since 2019, community resolutions given for robbery have increased by 127 percent, from 175 to 397. Those issued for sex offences have risen by 29 percent, from 482 to 621.

Resolutions for offences involving violence against a person have risen by 57 percent, from 29,188 to 45,845, while those for possession of weapons are up 77 percent, from 1,590 to 2,821.

The surge in community resolutions comes as knife crime approaches record levels and orders given to clear prison space amid the sentencing of anti-migration rioters, protesters, and social media posters that will reportedly see at least 5,500 criminals released early by the autumn, as Breitbart News reported.

The left-wing Labour Party government of Prime Minister Keir Starmer has vowed to halve convictions within a decade.

Packaging By Omission: Kamala Scrubs Berkeley and Canada Out of Her Life Story
[NewsBusters] The “mainstream” media messaging machine spent the whole Democrat convention channeling the notion of “reintroducing” Kamala Harris to America, relying on the assumption that vice presidents are only seen and not heard.

For all of the journalists who suddenly want to channel the same aspirational biracial narrative that marked Barack Obama’s march to the White House, we must note that these autobiographies can be heavily shaped and edited, which is why the word “reintroduction” should land like a brick. Obama’s “autobiography” was riddled with fictional elements, even composite girlfriends.

On the front page of The New York Times on August 26 is a story explaining that the Harris campaign has an allergy to noting their candidate was born in the radical tumult of Berkeley in the 1960s. Instead, a convention video listed her childhood home as located in “East Bay.” It can’t be “The People’s Republic of Berkeley” in anyone’s reintroduction to moderate voters.

Reporters Heather Knight and Alexandra Berzon acknowledged Kamala’s mother Shyamala was “steeped in the social activism vibrant in both Berkeley and Oakland.” They told readers that the word “Berkeley” went missing early in her career, when Harris ran for Attorney General of California in 2008.

But in other places, it’s more explicit. On their podcast The Daily -- broadcast across the country on taxpayer-subsidized National Public Radio -- Times reporter Astead Herndon underlined that activism was prominent in her upbringing.

“This is someone who is growing up really around not only just a Black community, but a very prideful, rich history of Blackness…The Black Panthers’ headquarters was blocks from her house.” Her parents made “a very intentional effort to place their children in Black affirmation spaces,” teaching black history in a radical activist way.

The “reintroduction” shapers also left out Kamala’s teenage years in Canada. From 1976 to 1982 (from roughly 12 to 18), she lived in Montreal, where her mother worked at McGill University. The Times noted Montreal “fared even worse than Berkeley” at the convention. “The city’s name was completely excised from Ms. Harris’s re-telling of her childhood.”

Kamala Story 300x250
With Obama and Harris, their narrative of negotiating the world as a biracial American is incredibly fluid, depending on which voting bloc you’re targeting.

In his podcast interview, Herndon talked up Harris as a prosecutor, and how it explains “the story of somebody who believes you can be multiple things at the same time. You can be an empathetic progressive, but also believe in punishment and in accountability.” That’s not at all what San Francisco prosecutors are known for, but it’s an election year, so it’s time to fudge.

Herndon and the rest of the pro-Democrat press just want to defeat Donald Trump, and they would prefer that Harris be very difficult to pigeonhole as a leftist. He says “she is a vessel that you can see what you want to see in. If you want to see a progressive, there’s enough there you probably can. If you want to see a moderate, you probably can see that, too. And so what I think is one of the stories here is an ideological fluidity that was once seen as a problem is now being seen as a solution.”

Confusion is a solution. They're not hiding their advocacy at all.

Herndon admits that all that intentional blurring makes it difficult to know how Harris would govern as president, but for the Democrats inside and outside the press, this is not the time to care. That’s a problem (and a project) for 2025.

The Ministry of Defense has launched a new historical project with declassified archival documents on the preparation and conduct of the Lvov-Sandomierz strategic offensive operation.

LVOV DEATH CONVEYOR
On June 30, 1941, having broken into the city of Lvov, the German occupiers began to impose the so-called new order of unbridled robbery, violence, torture, and mass murder.

An investigation by the Extraordinary State Commission of the USSR established that the Gestapo detachments had lists of the most prominent representatives of the intelligentsia designated for extermination even before the capture of Lvov. In the first months of the occupation, the Germans killed over 70 prominent figures in science, technology, and art in Lvov.

In July 1941, the German military command created a concentration camp for prisoners of war in the center of Lvov, on the territory of a fortress called the Citadel. The camp premises were not heated. Tens of thousands of prisoners died from hunger, beatings, disease, and executions. It has been established that during the existence of this camp, more than 280,000 prisoners of war were held there, of whom over 140,000 died.

Another conveyor belt of death for the extermination of the civilian population was organized by the Nazi invaders in November 1941 on Yanovskaya Street in Lvov. The "SS forced labor camp" was fenced with barbed wire. The Germans drove civilians here. The prisoners were forced to perform backbreaking labor.

The occupiers sent anyone they considered guilty to them to death on the gallows or by execution. Brutal beatings of prisoners were considered the norm. People died in the hundreds from hunger and disease.

The Germans also carried out mass executions of civilians and prisoners of war in the Lisenitsky Forest, on the outskirts of Lvov. Over 200,000 people were shot here.

Slavuta, a once flourishing Ukrainian town, was turned into a central concentration camp with the arrival of the Nazi invaders. Over 120,000 Soviet citizens – prisoners of war and civilians – were killed, tortured and mutilated in the “Slavuta Grosslazaret” by the Nazis. Mass extermination of Soviet people was also carried out in other cities of the Lvov region. The declassified archival documents of the project serve as convincing evidence of the atrocities committed by the Nazis and their accomplices in the occupied territory.

COLLABORATORS – SS ACCOMPLICES
The occupiers created the "Galicia District" with its inclusion in the so-called General Governorate. The district consisted of the territories of the modern Lvov, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil regions. In March 1943, the "Manifesto to the Fighting Youth of Galicia" was published in the district newspapers under the signature of its head Otto Wächter. It stated that the Galician Ukrainians had been given a high honor for their loyalty to the Fuhrer and the Third Reich: they had been given the right to form a new SS division "Galicia".

Several tens of thousands of people wanted to serve as executioners of the Ukrainian people. Experienced punishers also joined the ranks of the SS, for example, from the 201st Schutzmannschaft Battalion, which had shed a lot of blood of Soviet patriots on the territory of Belarus. The 204th Police and SD Battalion, as well as a number of other units, were formed from those collaborators who did not make it into the division.

The text of the oath of the collaborators, who donned the SS uniform of "Galicia", stated: "I, a Ukrainian volunteer, by this oath voluntarily place myself at the disposal of the German Army. I swear to the German Leader and Supreme Commander of the German Army Adolf Hitler in unwavering loyalty and obedience."

Already at the formation stage, the division began to commit atrocities against the civilian population. On February 28, 1944, the 4th Police Regiment of the SS Division "Galicia" destroyed a thousand civilians in the Polish village of Guta Penyatskaya, located in the territory of today's Brody district of the Lvov region of Ukraine.

On June 25, 1944, the SS Galicia Division was transferred to Brody under the command of the 13th Army Corps. There it occupied the second line of defense, located 20 km from the front line.

During the Lvov-Sandomierz operation, 32 German divisions lost from 50 to 70 percent of their personnel, and eight divisions were completely destroyed.

ENCIRCLE AND DESTROY
On June 22, 1944, the Military Council of the 1st Ukrainian Front, commanded by Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Konev, submitted a plan for the Lvov-Sandomierz offensive operation to the Supreme Command Headquarters, which approved it.

The plan for the operation, the so-called sixth Stalinist strike, was to encircle and destroy the enemy’s Lvov-Brody grouping, take Lvov, cut Army Group Northern Ukraine apart, throw one part back to the Polesia region, the other to the Carpathians, and have the front’s main forces reach the Vistula River line.

Despite the Soviet offensive that had begun in Belarus, the German command expected the Red Army to advance in the Lvov direction. Therefore, it retained significant tank forces as part of Army Group Northern Ukraine.

However, the troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front, fulfilling the plan of the Supreme Command Headquarters, broke through the enemy’s main line of defense. The tank armies and cavalry-mechanized groups brought into the battle began to cut off the enemy group's escape routes.

On July 15, the German command used Galicia to launch a counterattack on the advancing Soviet units. By the evening of the same day, the counteroffensive had petered out, and by July 18, Galicia, along with other German units, was surrounded.

"The enemy in the Lvov direction, stubbornly resisting with fire and counterattacks, retreated in the western direction. The encircled Brod grouping consisting of the 340th Infantry Division, 361st Infantry Division, 454th Security Division, 14th SS Infantry Division "Galichans", Corps Group "C" during July 20-22, 1944, which tried to break through in the area of Sasov, Bialy Kamen, was routed from encirclement by troops of the 4th Tank Army in a total of up to 15,000 people. The commander of the 454th Security Division, Major General Nedvig Johannes, was taken prisoner. A search was organized for the commander of the 13th Army Corps, Major General von Hoff," the archival document says.

"On July 27, the front's troops continued their offensive and advanced 20-35 km. "As a result of stubborn fighting, the cities of Lvov, Yaroslav, Przemysl, and up to 500 settlements were captured, including the cities of Przewursk, Turobin, Kalchuga, Prukhniki-Miasto, Khodorov, and Solotvina," noted the combat report of the 1st Ukrainian Front headquarters on July 28, 1944.

The 2nd and 8th Air Armies played an important role in the operation. From July 13 to August 29, 48,000 sorties were carried out. Having dropped 6,500 tons of bombs on the enemy and expended 3,300,000 shells and cartridges, the air units inflicted great losses on him in manpower and equipment, which contributed to an increase in the pace of the ground forces' offensive.

As a result of the Lvov-Sandomierz operation, Soviet troops completed the liberation of the entire territory of the Ukrainian SSR from German occupation within the 1941 borders. The result of Stalin's sixth strike was the almost complete defeat of Army Group "Northern Ukraine". The enemy was thrown back to the west more than 200 km. He lost about 90,000 soldiers and officers, a large amount of equipment and weapons. During the battles, 32 divisions of the German fascist troops, including the Ukrainian SS collaborationist division "Galicia", lost from 50 to 70 percent of their personnel, and eight divisions were completely destroyed.

HEROIC LIBERATORS OF WESTERN UKRAINE
During the Lvov-Sandomierz Operation, Soviet soldiers acted courageously and decisively, demonstrated heroism and military skill. One of the sections of the historical project contains several award sheets describing the exploits of military personnel. The presented reporting documents on the soldiers' exploits also contain dry statistical data on the number of enemy equipment destroyed.

On July 27, 1944, at 11 p.m., the city of Moscow saluted the valiant troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front, who captured the city of Lvov - 20 artillery salvos from 224 guns.

For high military skill and heroism, 353 formations and units of the 1st Ukrainian Front were awarded orders, 246 received the honorary titles of Lvov, Vistula, Sandomierz, Stanislav and others. More than 123,000 soldiers were awarded orders and medals, 160 people were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.

Spanish police boat chases down and runs over 'migrant dinghy'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] In a video taken on Horcas Coloradas beach on Sunday in Melilla, Spain,
…actually on shore of North Africa next to Morocco…
a small motorboat said to be carrying four African migrants - including a girl - can be seen being pursued by a border vessel.

After refusing to comply with warnings from the Royal Marine Gendarmerie patrol to stop, the Spanish Civil Guard motorboat veers to the right, driving over the top of the dinghy.

It causes the migrants' boat to capsize, throwing at least one person into the sea. The Government Delegation in Melilla - a Spanish enclave of Melilla in northern Morocco - has since confirmed no one was injured, RTVE Noticias reports.

Local reports suggest the migrants were attempting to travel from Morocco to Melilla.

A Moroccan NGO has already requested an investigation, while the Melilla government delegation maintained the Civil Guard carried out a 'normal procedure' to prevent the arrival of migrants to the coast.

It comes after dozens of sunbathing tourists watched in shock as 20 suspected migrants disembarked from a dinghy onto a packed beach in the Spanish islands earlier this month.

The vessel pulled into the cove and stopped on the shoreline in Cala Gran Santanyí, Mallorca, Spain, on Tuesday around 6pm. Video shared on social media shows how roughly 20 people - mostly young men - got off the boat and dodged beach towels as they walked in single file across the sand.

The Ministry of the Interior for Spain has also decided not to launch an internal investigation into the boating incident, Public report, which has been widely criticised by left-wing political parties EH Bildu and Sumar.
“Spain is so mean to those poor, innocent migrants!” Except that’s not what’s going on at all. To relieve the pressure of accumulated migrants — or sometimes to punish Spain for not recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara — Morocco regularly releases hundreds or thousands of migrants at the fenced border of the Melilla enclave. Their job is to break down the fence, or pop around the border line in the Mediterranean in small boats, hide until the authorities give up, then take the ferry from Melilla to mainland Europe. This has been going on for years, and may one day achieve Morocco’s ultimate goal of making this little Spanish colony on the North African coast unsustainable.

‘Tim Walz is apparently Kamala Harris's emotional support midwesterner’
[FoxNews] VP Harris mocked for being 'too scared' to do interview without Walz: 'She simply cannot be left unattended': Harris will do a joint interview with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on CNN Thursday

The announcement that Vice President Kamala Harris’ first formal sit-down interview as a 2024 presidential candidate would be done with her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, by her side was met with mockery online.

CNN revealed Tuesday Dana Bash would be taping a joint interview with Harris and Walz as they campaign in Georgia on Thursday to be broadcast that night.

It will mark the first time Harris has given a formal interview to the press since President Biden stepped out of the race and she became the nominee 38 days ago.

However, the news that Harris’ first interview would be alongside Walz, and with a sympathetic host and network, was seen as an admission that the vice president infamous for her word salads is "incapable" of doing an extended media appearance on her own.

Drone Strike Hits Russian Oil Depot Which Lies At A Record 1,500km From Ukraine
[ZeroHedge] A new wave of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia has damaged and set alight several more oil depots and energy facilities, one location notably which lies very deep into Russian territory.

On Wednesday drones struck the far away town of Kotelnich in Russia's Kirov Oblast. Regional Governor Alexander Sokolov said that two inbound drones were intercepted by air defenses, while a third "fell" and a blaze subsequently erupted near the Zenit oil facility.

This clearly is one of the deepest dronezaps into Russia of the entire war, given Kotelnich lies some 1,500 km (930 miles) northeast of the border with Ukraine. It is likely a record distance.

The governor has since said the situation is "under control" and that there were no casualties as a result of the attack.

Russia's defense ministry in a statement noted other overnight drone attacks as well, including shoot-downs of eight drones over the Voronezh Oblast and four over Rostov Oblast.

However,
denial ain't just a river in Egypt...
a depot in Rostov’s Kamensky district was apparently struck and caught fire, resulting in emergency crews seeking to extinguish it.

Sweden to prosecute two men over Holy Quran desecration
[GEOTV] Swedish prosecutors said on Wednesday they would put two men on trial for desecrating the Holy Koran in a series of incidents last year that prompted outrage in the Moslem world and raised fears of attacks.

The two men committed "offences of agitation against an ethnic or national group" on four separate occasions when desecrating the Holy Koran outside a mosque and in other public places, the Swedish Prosecution Authority said in a statement.

Sweden's domestic security service raised its terrorism alert level as a result of the burnings, while neighbouring Denmark, which also saw the similar incidents, tightened its legislation to outlaw the practice.

"Both men are prosecuted for having on these four occasions made statements and treated the Koran in a manner intended to express contempt for Moslems because of their faith," Senior Prosecutor Anna Hankkio said in a statement.

Evidence against the two men, named as Salwan Momika and Salwan Najem, consisted largely of video recordings, Hankkio said.

Najem denied any wrongdoing, his lawyer, Mark Safaryan, told Rooters on Wednesday.

"The permit granted in connection with the demonstration is covered by my client's intent. His rights are protected by the Swedish constitution," Safaryan said.

The lawyer for Momika did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

In plain English, they are being prosecuted for statements and treatment of a BOOK that they videotaped!

They didn't assault or mistreat a person, or damage private property, they videotaped comments about the contents of a book that was their property, and mishandled it in some way. And for that they are being prosecuted to avoid civil unrest by Muslims who revere the book and it's contents. When you can intimidate a government by fear of your violent behavior cloaked under the guise of religion, you have already defeated them!

Fifth Circuit Affirms Illegal Aliens Do Not Have Second Amendment Rights
[Breitbart] A three-judge panel for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit affirmed Tuesday illegal aliens do not have Second Amendment rights.

They did so by pointing to United States v. Portillo-Munoz, “which prohibits an illegal alien from possessing a firearm or ammunition.”

This prohibition was challenged by Defendant-Appellant Jose Paz Medina-Cantu, who was arrested July 13, 2022, for ” possession of a firearm and ammunition as an illegal alien…and illegal reentry into the United States.” Medina-Cantu argued that the firearm charges should be dismissed in light of Bruen (2022), but the Fifth Circuit explained that Bruen did not alter the prohibition contained in Portillo-Munoz.

The three-judge panel noted, “Portillo-Munoz… is constitutional under the Second Amendment, reasoning that the phrase ‘the people’ in the Second Amendment does not include aliens unlawfully present in the United States.”

They also noted Rahimi (2024) did not remove Portillo-Munoz’s prohibition against illegal aliens possessing firearms.

Breitbart News pointed to a July 31, 2024, supplemental letter brief in which the U.S. Government contended that “illegal aliens” do not have Second Amendment rights.

The supplemental letter brief was submitted in response to a “directive to address the impact of the Supreme Court’s decision in United States v. Rahimi (2024).”

In the July 31, 2024, supplemental letter brief submitted by the DOJ, the U.S. Government contends that the prohibitions related to “illegal aliens” and firearms, contained in 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(5)(A), remain constitutional:

The U.S. Government observed: “Nothing in Rahimi undermines this Court’s reasoning. To the contrary, the Supreme Court in Rahimi emphasized what its prior precedents observed: the Second Amendment extends to ‘ordinary citizens.’”

Given the US Bill Of Rights is a ALL OR NOTHING situation in thre courts and how the DOJ pretends to abide by.

Has the 5TH just bascially ruled ILLEGALS - DO NOT HAVE - protection afforded by other Bill Of Rights Protections or status.

NO Right:
Of Freedom of movement, to Protest, to Petition, to Assembly, .

NO Right: Have or carry a weapon.

NO Miranda rights

NO Rights covering Search and arrest.

NO Rights in courts or to a fair trial.

NO Right to sue and start a civil case.

NO Right to Bail, fines, punishment.

IF YES!!!!! Deportation just got easy.
As their deportation should NOT require a court hearing either.

NOW the next question.
Does the 5TH ruling also affect VISA Immigrants?

Front door only, and ask permission, pass a background check and bring KSA's of value to our nation when you apply! Oh and if you tried to gt in illegally, end of the very long line. If you are already deported and caught again....NEVER even a visit.

Israeli military launches major West Bank operation
[BBC] At least 10 Paleostinians have been killed in a major operation by Israeli forces in the north of the occupied West Bank, the Paleostinian health ministry says.

Israeli security forces said they had begun "a counterterrorism operation" in Jenin and Tulkarm overnight and that they had so far killed "five armed forces of Evil from the air and ground".

It also said another four were killed in an air strike during a simultaneous operation in al-Faraa refugee camp near Tubas. A further death was reported west of Jenin.

Local journalists said they had not seen anything of this scope and scale in the West Bank since the days of the second Paleostinian intifada, or uprising, two decades ago.

Fundraising for school clothes for Palestinian refugees announced in Dagestan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] This year, 69 children who arrived from Palestine will go to Dagestani schools; more than a million rubles are needed for their school clothes, the Nadezhda foundation reported.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, there are 195 Palestinian refugees in Dagestan, including 97 children. 137 people received passports of Russian citizens, the Ministry of Labor of Dagestan reported, announcing the employment of eight refugees. The department emphasized that the refugees are fully provided with clothing and basic necessities, and also reported that more than 20 million rubles have been allocated for food and accommodation for Palestinian refugees since November 2023.

A total 69 children who arrived from Palestine will go to school this year, the Nadezhda Foundation reported today. "They need school clothes. Unfortunately, they do not have the opportunity to buy them themselves," the foundation's Telegram channel said.

The foundation has announced a fundraiser for school uniforms; the required amount is 1,112,000 rubles, the statement says.

Let us recall that on April 18 it became known that the Dagestan authorities will have to provide accommodation for another 200 refugees from Palestine. The Russian government had previously adopted a resolution on this. In total, the republics of the North Caucasus, according to this resolution, will have to accommodate 812 refugees  from Palestine.

Government Corruption
Judge Blocks Biden-Harris Rule Giving Union Rights to Foreign Workers
[Breitbart] A federal judge is blocking, in 17 states, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s administration from imposing a new rule that gives collective bargaining rights to foreign farm workers while American farm workers are excluded.

“The Biden-Harris administration has taken an America Last position,” Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach (R), who is leading the multi-state lawsuit against the rule, said in a statement:

In this case, they were trying to give alien ag workers rights that Americans do not have. That’s why Kansas took the lead in filing this lawsuit. The rule of law has prevailed. [Emphasis added]

In September 2023, the Labor Department announced a federal rule that would dramatically change the H-2A visa program, which allows United States farms to import foreign workers to take American agricultural jobs.

As part of the rule, finalized in April 2024, foreign H-2A visa workers would get collective bargaining rights not afforded to American farm workers.

In June, Kobach brought a lawsuit — joined by 16 other state attorneys general — asking a federal judge in Georgia to block the Biden-Harris administration from imposing the rule. On Monday, U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood granted a preliminary injunction to prevent the rule from taking effect in the 17 states that sued the administration.

“The issue before the Court is whether the Final Rule creates a right not previously bestowed by Congress. The Court finds it does so,” Wood writes:

Regardless of the terminology used in the Final Rule … the Final Rule provides for agricultural workers’ right to participate in concerted activity to further their interests. That is a right that Congress has not created by statute. And Defendants have not provided any source indicating that Congress intended to create such a right. [Emphasis added]

Based on the findings of fact and conclusions of law stated herein, the Court GRANTS Plaintiffs’ motion for a preliminary injunction. Accordingly, the Court ORDERS that Defendants are ENJOINED, during the pendency of this action or until further Order of the Court, from enforcing the Final Rule, Improving Protections for Workers in Temporary Agricultural Employment in the United States within Georgia, Kansas, South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia, and against Miles Berry Farm and Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association. [Emphasis added]

As Breitbart News has chronicled for years, the H-2A visa program is often used to replace Americans and preserve the low cost of agricultural labor.

In 1997, more than 16,000 foreign H-2A visa workers were imported to take American agriculture jobs. The latest data from Fiscal Year 2022 shows that U.S. farms imported nearly 300,000 foreign H-2A visa workers to fill American jobs.

The lawsuit is Kansas v. U.S. Department of Labor, No. 2:24-cv-00076 for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.

How much more does the O'Biden Admin have to screw over the Union WORKERS, before the rank & File figure out their leaders have screwed them over?

#2  The rank and file know, NN2N1. In 2020 even more than 2016 they voted for Donald Trump. It’s just the union leadership, using money from union dues and foot soldiers from union membership, that is still mostly all in on Democrat control of the levers of government.

#3  Unpossible! Everyone knows that the Democrats are the Party of the Working Man, the little guy. It is the Republicans who are the Evil Party of Big Business. At least that is what Woody Guthrie taught us.

Israeli military claims demolishing central Gaza tunnel
[GEOTV] Israel's military said it destroyed a 3 kilometer long tunnel near the Netzarim Corridor, which it set up to split northern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
from the south.

Members of the military's Yahalom engineering unit worked with soldiers in the Jerusalem brigade to locate, probe and wreck the tunnel, the military said, sharing footage claiming to show its destruction.

The tunnel is among hundreds of pieces of military infrastructure destroyed in recent weeks, the Israeli army claimed.
“Billions of dollars of classical construction destroyed by the genocidal Philistines of the Israeli army for no reason at all!” lamented the members of the international news media in photogenically picturesque attitudes, rending their garments and tearing their hair in their distress.

Namibia blocks ship over Israel war-crime concerns
[BBC] A vessel suspected by the Namibian authorities to be carrying military cargo intended for Israeli use in the ongoing war in Gaza has been blocked from docking in the southern African country.

Namibian Justice Minister Yvonne Dausab told state media the ship was stopped because it had “explosive material destined for Israel".

The MV Kathrin, which set off from Vietnam, had requested permission to dock in the port of Walvis Bay – before sailing north, on a suspected route towards the Mediterranean via the Strait of Gibraltar.

Rights groups had warned that Namibia could have been implicated in potential human rights violations had it allowed the vessel to dock.

It is not known why the ship wanted to dock, but vessels on long journeys tend to stop for supplies, respite or to offload or take on cargo.

Last December, Namibia’s neighbour and ally South Africa launched an ongoing case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) alleging Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Israel rejects the allegation of genocide as "baseless".

The conflict began after Hamas launched an unprecedented assault on Israel on 7 October, during which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage.

The Israeli military then launched a campaign to destroy Hamas and more than 40,430 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry.

Has Israel taken enough action to prevent alleged incitement to genocide?

What did ICJ ruling mean in South Africa's genocide case against Israel?

Walvis Bay is Namibia’s largest commercial port, receiving nearly 900 vessels and handling about eight million tonnes of cargo per year, according to the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport).

The MV Kathrin, which was set to dock at Walvis Bay on Monday from Vietnam, was stopped in accordance with Namibia's support for the Palestinian people and the country’s call for an end to the violence in Gaza, Ms Dausab told the state-run New Era news website.

Citing a police investigation, Ms Dausab said the vessel was "indeed carrying explosive material destined for Israel, and was therefore prohibited from entering Namibian waters".

“Namibia complies with our obligation not to support or be complicit in Israeli war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, as well as its unlawful occupation of Palestine,” she said.

Namibian human rights organisation the Economic and Social Justice Trust (ESJT) welcomed the move.

"We are pleased that our government has decided to respect international law and decided not to be complicit to genocide," ESJT's Herbert Jauch told the BBC.

Namport has not responded to the BBC for comment about the MV Kathrin. Before Ms Dausab’s statement it said it had not received pre-clearance documentation for the ship.

The agency however pledged to ensure "effective safety and security of our territorial waters and ports".

It also said it supported Namibia's "standing and position on international relations and protocols".

Namport said it had recently allowed another vessel carrying "dangerous cargo" to pass through Namibian waters, but not to dock.

Mexican President Pauses Relation with U.S. and Canadian Embassies over Criticism
[Breitbart] Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced that his country was pausing relations with the U.S. and Canadian embassies in Mexico following letters and statements. The president says diplomatic officials from both countries had spoken out against his proposed judicial reform, which calls for yearly open elections for all federal judges.

“They have to learn to respect Mexico’s sovereignty,” Lopez Obrador said during his morning news conference. The Mexican politician said that he was not kicking them out of the country but simply pausing the relationship until they learned not to interfere with Mexico’s government.

The move comes just days after U.S. Ambassador Ken Salazar and Canadian Ambassador Graeme Clark claimed that an independent judicial body was an important part of a Democracy and that having elected judges also opened the door to corruption and cartel influence. As Breitbart Texas reported, in his letter, Salazar pointed out that before being a diplomat, he had been in law practice for more than 25 years and, as a politician and diplomat, had seen how important an independent judiciary was.
Which does explain why he is so determined to do away with it..
The issue at hand is a judicial reform pushed by AMLO and his party that would have yearly elections for federal judges and implement several other measures that scholars claim would tie the hands of an independent judicial body. Political opponents claim that judicial reform is a step by Lopez Obrador and his party to take full control of the three bodies of government. The move has been met with harsh resistance from most sitting judges who have gone on strike. However, Lopez Obrador’s MORENA party has been pushing forward with the measure.
