A woman reported she saw four gunmen moving as a unit while shooting. I did not read any other such accounts. People report many things in stressful situations. Often you get multiple conflicting reports of the same event.
[The Intercept] NBC News published a predictably viral story Friday, claiming that "experts who track websites and social media linked to Russia have seen stirrings of a possible campaign of support for Hawaii Democrat Tulsi Gabbard."
But the whole story was a sham: The only "expert" cited by NBC in support of its key claim was the firm New Knowledge, which just got caught by the New York Times fabricating Russian troll accounts on behalf of the Democratic Party in the Alabama Senate race to manufacture false accusations that the Kremlin was interfering in that election. Phew - that was a looooong sentence
To justify its claim that Gabbard is the Kremlin's candidate, NBC stated, "analysts at New Knowledge, the company the Senate Intelligence Committee used to track Russian activities in the 2016 election, told NBC News they've spotted ‘chatter' related to Gabbard in anonymous online message boards, including those known for fomenting right-wing troll campaigns."
What NBC ‐ amazingly ‐ concealed is a fact that reveals its article to be a journalistic fraud: That same firm, New Knowledge, was caught just six weeks ago engaging in a massive scam to create fictitious Russian troll accounts on Facebook and Twitter in order to claim that the Kremlin was working to defeat Democratic Senate nominee Doug Jones in Alabama. The New York Times, when exposing the scam, quoted a New Knowledge report that boasted of its fabrications: "We orchestrated an elaborate ‘false flag' operation that planted the idea that the [Roy] Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet.'"
That fraud was overseen by New Knowledge's CEO, Jonathon Morgan. At the same time Morgan was fabricating Russian troll accounts and using them to create a fraudulent appearance that Putin was trying to defeat the Democratic Senate candidate, he was exploiting his social media "expertise" to claim that Russians were interfering in the Alabama Senate election. In other words, Morgan used his own fake Russian accounts to lie to the public and deceive the national media into believing that Kremlin-linked accounts were trying to defeat the Democratic Senate candidate when, in fact, the accounts he was citing were ones he himself had fabricated and controlled.
Even worse, Morgan's firm is behind one of the recent Senate reports on Russian social media election interference, as well as the creation of "Hamilton 68," the pseudo-data-driven dashboard constantly used by U.S. media outlets to claim that its enemies are supported by the Kremlin. (That tool has so been abused that even some of its designers urged the media to stop exaggerating its meaning.) During the Alabama race, Morgan ‐ in a tweet he deleted once his fraud was exposed ‐ cited the #Hamilton68 data that he himself manipulated with his fake Russian accounts to claim that Russia was interfering in the Alabama Senate race

[Free Beacon] A redesign of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation website will make it harder for voters to inspect Sen. Kamala Harris's controversial record as the state's top cop.
The department removed public access to a number of reports on incarceration in the state, including when presidential candidate Kamala Harris (D.) was California's attorney general. Twice a year, the CDCR releases information about the number of new individuals incarcerated in the California prison system as part of its "Offender Data Points" series. These reports provide important information on demographics, sentence length, offense type, and other figures relevant to criminal justice and incarceration.
Until recently, these reports were publicly available at the CDCR's website. A search using archive.org's Wayback Machine reveals that as of April 25, 2019‐the most recent indexed date‐ODP reports were available dating back to the spring of 2009. As of August 2019, the same web page now serves only a single ODP report, the one for Spring 2019. The pre-2019 reports have been removed.
The changes matter in part because the reports contain information about Harris's entire time as state A.G., 2011 to 2017. Harris has taken fire from multiple opponents for her "tough on crime" record as California's top cop, an image that she has tried to shed as a far-left senator and presidential candidate.
One particularly brutal attack came Wednesday night when Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hi.) laid into Harris for her record on criminal justice. Gabbard cited a Washington Free Beacon analysis ‐ based in part on the ODP reports ‐ that found that more than 1,500 Californians were sent to prison for marijuana-related offenses while Harris was attorney general.
The data have been used in other Free Beacon reporting on Harris, specifically the finding that more than 120,000 black and Latino Californians were sent to prison while she was in the State A.G.'s office.

Stories about first responders being refused service or harassed at various establishments, whether that be for coffee or engagement rings, it's becoming a recurring theme. It's disturbing, though undoubtedly fueled in part by the ranks of the politically correct and the Black Lives Matter crowd. We had a sheriff's deputy in North Carolina barred from picking up his engagement ring because he was carrying his service weapon. Five police officers in Tempe, Arizona were told to leave a local Starbucks because some snowflake was triggered by their presence in the establishment. And now, some Florida snowflake didn't want to serve anyone with a badge. Oh, sorry‐let me rewind for a second; a McDonald's employee was fired because she refused to serve…a paramedic. Yeah, even after the first responder said he wasn't a police officer, she still refused service. The incident occurred in Madeira Beach, Florida (via ABC Action News, Tampa Bay):
A McDonald's employee was fired after turning away Sunstar paramedics Wednesday night.
Sunstar paramedic Anthony Quinn accused the employee at the McDonald's in Madeira Beach of refusing to provide service to him and his partner, according to a review he left.
Quinn's review stated that he went into the restaurant in his uniform to use the restroom when the employee told him "we don't accept officers in here." After telling her that he wasn't an officer she proceeded to say that they didn't accept "anyone with a badge."
After Quinn's partner walked in to order food, the employee, according to his review, told him "we don't serve your kind here."
McDonald's moved quickly to squash a potentially explosive public relations nightmare:
"We are aware of the unfortunate incident that took place at one of our restaurants last night. We, like you, were upset and disappointed and took immediate action. The employee has been terminated. What occurred does not reflect the values of our brand, our franchise, or the love and admiration we have demonstrated consistently for our friends in law enforcement and first responders. We have reached out to offer our sincerest apology."

[InSightCrime] Rio de Janeiro police are increasingly using helicopters to fire on suspected criminals in what is another representation of the governor’s hardline crime policies.
A recent report by Globo has highlighted the increased use of the "caveirão voador" (flying skull) by Rio police. The caveirão voador is the nickname given to armored helicopters used by the police for monitoring and increasingly, as airborne platforms to fire into favelas.
Helicopters have been used 86 times in the past year, a more than 200 percent increase over 2017. A large portion of these flights, 38 percent, occurred in the north of the city, mainly focusing on the favelas of Maré and Pedreira. Another major area targeted was the Western Zone of the city, accounting for 25 percent of the flights.

The product was willfully - not accidentally - misused. Same issue as with gun liability. The manufacturer in no way facilitated or encouraged the misuse. Automobiles, liquor, makeup and even money itself are just as easy to misuse, yet no one calls for the manufacturer of those things to be held liable for what the mis-user does.

The reason for these shades of technological white may be racism, according to new research.
"Robots And Racism," a study conducted by the Human Interface Technology Laboratory in New Zealand (HIT Lab NZ) and published by the country's University of Canterbury, suggests people perceive physically human-like robots to have a race and therefore apply racial stereotypes to white and black robots.
These colors have been found to trigger social cues that determine how humans react to and behave toward other people and also, apparently, robots.
"The bias against black robots is a result of bias against African-Americans," lead researcher Christoph Bartneck explained to The Next Web. He told CNN, "It is amazing to see how people who had no prior interaction with robots show racial bias towards them."
The researchers think this is an issue that needs to be addressed. "If robots are supposed to function as teachers, friends, or carers, for instance, then it will be a serious problem if all of these roles are only ever occupied by robots that are racialized as White," according to the study.

Indeed, Scott Peterson sits on death row today only because the state of California rightly understands Connor to be a second murder victim.

[New York Post] A man spat twice in the face of a fellow straphanger as the doors of a subway car closed at 34th Street in Manhattan, thinking he was in the clear because his target was still on the train, video shows.
But his target was able to pry the doors back open ‐ and ran out onto the platform and pummeled him unconscious, according to the footage, which was posted on Reddit.
"He’s livid! It’s over!" the person filming the clash can be heard saying of the spat-on man.
As other riders ran to break up the fight, the gleeful phone-cameraman advised them to lay off.
"Nah, nah! He spit in his face!" he said.
With his target knocked out cold and the No. 1 train leaving the station, the counter-assailant retrieved his phone off the ground and walked away, all while screaming profanities back at his seemingly unconscious foe.

[Free Beacon] Illinois state Senator Tom Cullerton (D.) has been indicted for fraudulently accepting benefits from a labor union, prosecutors said Friday morning. Cullerton is facing one charge of "conspiracy to embezzle from a labor union and employee benefit plans," one count of "making false statements in a health care matter," and 39 counts of "embezzlement from a labor union," according to an NBC Chicago affiliate.
Cullerton, an Army veteran, took office after winning a senate seat in 2012. Prior to his election, he was a member of the local chapter of the Teamsters Union. Once he won, his employment was terminated and he was no longer eligible for the union's pension or benefit funds.
However, in March of 2013, Cullerton was hired by the Teamsters Joint Council to serve as a "union organizer," which entailed receiving a full-time salary along with benefits, according to an ABC Chicago affiliate.
The indictment accuses Cullerton of not performing the duties of the union organizer position while receiving a salary and pension benefits. It also accuses him of conspiring with individuals inside the union to misrepresent himself as an employee to claim medical benefits.

[NYPOST] Two savages kidnapped a 3-year-old girl from a train station in India, gang-raped her, and when she screamed, cut off her head, according to horrifying reports.
The toddler, whose abduction was captured on surveillance footage, was sleeping next to her mother July 25 at Tatanager train station in the state of Jharkahnd when one of the monsters scooped her up, the Times of India reported.
Her mother later found the girl missing and reported her disappearance to police, who reviewed video of the incident.
The footage showed the woman’s boyfriend, Rinku Sah, picking up the sleeping girl from the train platform.
Sah, 36, then brought her a couple miles from the station to a scrapyard, where he and another man raped her, the news outlet reported.
When she started to scream, Sah allegedly took a sharp object and beheaded the tot. He then stuffed her body in a bag and dumped it near the lot, according to reports.
Both Sah and his alleged accomplice, Kailash Kumar, have been charged in connection with the murder, the Times of India reported.

[DAWN] Inflation has entered double digits in the first month of the new fiscal year, the biggest increase in five years and nine months.
Inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), rose to 10.34 per cent in July this year from 8.9pc the preceding month, the Pakistain Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday. During the same month last year, inflation stood at 5.84pc.
The last time inflation entered the double digits was in November 2013 and recorded at 10.9pc.
The upward adjustments in prices of petroleum products over the past few months, followed by an increase in electricity and gas tariffs fuelled the total inflation. The government also introduced certain tax measures, the cumulative impact of which dragged the overall inflation to double digits. The rupee depreciation also led to an increase in prices of imported consumer and non-consumer items, especially raw material used in manufacturing of industrial products, over the past few months.
The government has projected an inflation target of 11pc to 13pc for the fiscal year 2019-20, compared to 7.3pc recorded in 2018-19. Price levels, perked up in the first month of the current fiscal year, appear to have been driven by a spike in non-food inflation in July.

[DAWN] Lahore police on Friday arrested a man suspected of exposing himself and harassing women in the city.
According to a handout from the police, a woman had uploaded a video on Twitter of a young man exposing himself while travelling on a cycle of violence. She had further alleged that he was a routine offender and demanded that police take action against the suspect.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) BA Nasir subsequently directed Saddar Superintendent of Police (SP) Ahsan Saifullah to take up the matter himself. Through the identification of his cycle of violence number, the SP was able to arrest the suspect.
A case was registered against him under Sections 294 (obscene acts and songs in public) and 268 (public nuisance) of the Pakistain Penal Code.
CCPO Nasir appreciated the prompt action of the Saddar division and emphasised greater social engagement on incidents related to sexual harassment.
"Harassing women is unfortunate. All walks of life should come forward to root out this emerging evil social practice," he said.
On Saturday, a similar incident had been reported from the city. A man had been arrested for chasing a group of girls and sexually harassing them after a social media user described the ordeal she and her friends went through in a series of tweets.

[DAWN] A prominent politician in India was expelled from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday amid waves of public outrage after a deadly car crash left a woman who accused him of rape at death's door.
The expulsion came after the BJP was criticised for not taking stern action against Kuldeep Singh Sengar, the accused politician from the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Sengar is in jail awaiting trial and could not be reached for comment, but has previously denied the rape allegation.
The woman’s family accuses Sengar of plotting the Sunday crash that involved a speeding truck that had its number plate painted black. The woman and her lawyer were critically maimed and two of her relatives were killed. Police arrested the truck’s driver and owner.
The state police first described it as an accident, but on Wednesday the federal Central Bureau of Investigation said it had opened a case to look into murder and conspiracy allegations against the accused politician.
The family has claimed that they had been threatened by the accused politician’s associates multiple times.
King George’s Medical University doctors said on Thursday that the woman remained unconscious and at death's door with a head injury and multiple leg fractures.
India’s Supreme Court ordered the woman and her lawyer shifted from Uttar Pradesh to India’s capital for further treatment if the family members agreed. The court also directed the investigating agency to complete the probe into the crash within a week.

[ToloNews] The number of ANDSF troops fell by nearly 42,000 compared to the same period last year, SIGAR report says.
For the fourth consecutive quarter, the size of Afghanistan’s National Defense and Security Forces is reported at the lowest level it has been since the Resolute Support mission began in January 2015, a US watchdog said in a report.
The drop in size of the ANDSF has occurred in the past few months due to changes in the way troops are counted and an effort to reduce the number of so-called "ghost" or nonexistent soldiers, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) said in a report to the US Congress on July 30.
The report says that only those ANDSF personnel who have been biometrically validated in APPS are included in strength figures.
This quarter’s ANDSF strength decreased by 41,777 personnel since approximately the same period in 2018, and by 50,277 compared to about the same period in 2017.
According to the report, there are 180,869 Afghan National Army (ANA) and 91,596 Afghan National Police (ANP) personnel enrolled and accounted for in APPS as of May 25, 2019.
This is roughly 10,000 ANA fewer and 25,000 ANP fewer than the numbers reported to SIGAR last quarter.80 This quarter’s strength of 272,465 puts the ANDSF at 77.4%, and 79,535 personnel short, of its goal strength of 352,000.81, the report added.

...If my math is right then that means they took a 15% loss in the last year losing the ghosts and "changes in the way troops are counted" (likely 'assistants' and 'aides' who were kicking a good part of their salaries back to the unit commanders).
I have a very bad feeling that this is just the tip of the iceberg. It almost certainly means that when the Taliban makes its move, the Afghan security forces will simply fade away, and we're back to 9/10.

[DAWN] Several small bombs went kaboom! across Bangkok on Friday, rattling the Thai capital as it hosted a regional summit attended by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and leaving three people maimed.
Thailand, which has a grim history of political violence, remains deeply divided after a controversial March election returned a Thai junta to power as a civilian government.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha, who led the junta, was told of "the bombing incidents and has ordered an immediate investigation", Thai government spokeswoman Narumon Pinyosinwat said.
"Security measures have been tightened. The public is urged not to panic," she added.
Small devices ‐ believed to be so-called "ping pong bombs" around the size of a table tennis ball ‐ went kaboom! at several locations across the city.
They appeared to be symbolic attacks aimed at embarrassing the government during the major summit but not designed to cause mass casualties.
"Three people received slight injuries from shrapnel," said Renu Suesattaya, director of Suanluang district where the first bombs were reported.
"I received a report that they are 'ping pong bombs' hidden in bushes by the road."
Two further explosions shattered glass near a well-known downtown skyscraper, emergency police added.
Bomb disposal experts were deployed around the Mahanakorn Tower -- owned by the King Power group that counts Leicester City football club among its assets.
At least three other blasts hit the area around a government complex, authorities said.
The bombings took place just before a keynote speech by Pompeo, who has joined the Southeast Asian Foreign Ministers meeting, in which he praised Thailand for rejoining the "democratic fold".

[DAWN] The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claims to have arrested an Indian national who had been living in Gujranwala on fake passport and documents for the last 10 years.
The agency also started the paperwork but haven't done much else against the citizen who gave him shelter.
FIA Deputy Director Amir Nawaz told Dawn that Panjam Tiwari had gone to Dubai for work in 2009 and met Kamran, a resident of Gujranwala. They became business partners in Dubai and after some time, Kamran brought Panjam back to Pakistain on fake passport. The Indian national tied the knot with Kamran’s sister Rukhsana and embraced Islam, changing his name as Bilal.
He also made fake documents (birth certificate, CNIC, marriage deed etc) and started living in Pakistain, said Nawaz. So he adopted all the Pak customs, including making fake docs
FIA Assistant Director Ahmer Sandhu, along with Inspector Naveed Ahmed and Sub-Inspector Shahzaib, raided a house at Mominabad and arrested Panjam. They started the paperwork but haven't done much else against him as well as Kamran.

Panjshir Police Chief Mohammad Ishaq Tamkin said the Taliban has expanded their threats against the province after the group captured Keran Wa Manjan district of the northern province of Badakhshan.
Majority of these forces are currently patrolling alongside the Afghan cops in border areas between Panjshir’s Paryan district and Keran Wa Manjan of Badakhshan which has changed to a hub for bully boys’ activities over the past few weeks.
"Threats exist. We are deployed here precisely in the border between Panjshir and Badakhshan to defend our area," Tamkin said.
"When we felt that the enemy is coming close to us, we took arms to defend our land and dignity," said Waisuddin, a commander of the public uprising forces in Panjshir said.
Some Army soldiers said they are fully ready to protect the province against any threat from bad boys.
"We are soldiers. We are prepared to obey any order we get from our commanders," said Rafiullah, an Army soldier in Panjshir.
"We also have the plan to recapture Keran Wa Manjan district. We will act properly at the right time," former minister of interior Taj Mohammad Jahid said.
This comes after reports of heavy festivities in Keran Wa Manjan district following the Taliban’s coordinated attack late last month.
Keran Wa Manjan shares borders with Nuristan, Panjshir and Takhar provinces.
Based on the reports, Keran Wa Manjan district fell to the Taliban after reinforcements were not sent to local forces.
Following the Taliban’s attack, the district police chief Abdul Wali Hussaini fled to Nuristan Province along with his 40 soldiers.

Speaking to DawnNewsTV, CPO Rana said that CCTV footage had been used to identify the suspect and following a technical investigation, he was arrested from Adiala Road in Rawalpindi on Thursday night. After his arrest, the cycle of violence used in the incidents was also recovered.
The police officer said that the suspect, who has been sent to jail on judicial remand where complainants and witnesses will be called for identification, had assaulted some children and attempted to assault others after kidnapping them. Rana added that the suspect used to kidnap 10 to 12-year-old girls and in a month he had kidnapped eight children. The children would then be dropped off in the vicinity of the area where they had been picked up.
CPO Rana said that the complainants of the cases against the suspect had been informed of his arrest and orders to register pending cases against him were also issued.
The police officer said that an example would be made of the suspect so that in the future, no one dared to commit such a "disgusting act against the daughters of the nation".

Fox News reports that the hunter education course includes a gun safety component.
Central Illinois Proud reports that the bill Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed, HB 3462, allows each school district to decide if they will offer a hunter education course.
Teacher Joseph Villarreal spoke out against teaching hunting education and gun safety, saying, "Guns and schools do not mix. And as a school teacher, I believe that we should not promote anything that is gun related." But State Sen. Jason Plummer (R-Edwardsville) presented the other side of the argument, saying, "Students who are exposed to lessons in hunting safety have a greater chance of respecting firearms and using them properly for the rest of their lives."
Plummer added, "As the law is shifting to emphasize the importance of safe handling, adopting legislation like this could make for an accessible path for students to learn these methods in-depth, early on in their lives."
The NRA’s Lars Dalseide explained that the state Board of Education must still set guidelines for course. Yet he made clear that "it’s encouraging to see Illinois agree to provide courses that teach the safe and responsible use of firearms."

Yes, I took one down in Butler, GA. many years ago. It was pitched by Georgia Game Wardens. A very good one-day event, with an exam at the end. It was not connected to the school system however.

[Ynet] Japan will not send warships to join a U.S.-led maritime force to guard oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz fearing a military response from Iran, but it may send patrol aircraft, the Mainichi newspaper said Friday, citing unidentified government sources.
But Japan may send warships independently to protect Japanese ships in the world's most important oil artery, the newspaper said.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and continue to collect information while working closely with the United States and other countries," said Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga, when asked about the report.

[Jpost] This week marked the 17th anniversary of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem cafeteria bombing, in which nine people were killed and more than 80 maimed. In honor of the anniversary, Paleostinian Media Watch (PMW) released a report showing that the bully boyz responsible for the attack have thus far received $1,257,259 in "pay-for-slay" payments from the Paleostinian Authority.
The bombing, which took place on July 31, 2002 and became known as the Hebrew University massacre, was planned and perpetrated by members of an eastern Jerusalem Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, cell during the Second Intifada. A bomb was placed in a cafeteria on the Mount Scopus campus. Among those murdered were five Americans.
Six members of the Hamas cell are serving multiple life sentences in Israeli prisons for this attack and others.
Among the convicted bully boyz for this and other attacks were Adballah Barghouti, who is serving 67 life sentences - one for each of the victims he murdered, and Ibrahim Hamed, who is serving 54 life sentences - one for each of the victims he murdered. Through June 2019, the PA cumulatively paid them NIS 1,271,000 ($339,862) and continues to pay them thousands of shekels per month, according to PMW.
The other four bully boyz - Wael Qassem, Wassim Abbasi, Alla Aldin Abbasi and Muhammed Odeh - were residents of Jerusalem, entitling them to a salary supplement of 300 shekels/month. Each of them has been paid more than NIS 770,000 ($220,733) since their arrest in August 2002. Each of them is currently receiving NIS 7,300 ($1,951) per month.
According to PMW, since the start of 2019, these bully boyz have received NIS 300,000 or $86,000, despite the PA's purported financial crisis.
The PA obligated itself to pay monthly salaries to imprisoned bully boyz when it passed the Law of Prisoners and Released Prisoners in 2004, PMW explained. The exact amount paid is set in regulations passed by the PA government.
This is not the first time PMW has reported on the payments of bully boyz involved in particularly sensitive cases.
Last month, five years after the July 11, 2014 arrest of Husam al-Qawasmi - the terrorist criminal mastermind behind the 2014 kidnapping and murder of Gilad Shaar, Eyal Yifrach and Naftali Frenkel - PMW reported that the terrorist began receiving NIS 4,000 instead of NIS 2,000 a month, according to the PA’s standard pay scale.
The PA has long had a "Pay-for-Slay" policy, by which it pays monthly salaries to terrorist prisoners and the families of bully boyz who were killed in the act or upon arrest.
In February, Israel implemented the "Pay-for-Slay" Law that instructs the state to deduct and freeze the amount of money the PA pays in salaries to imprisoned bully boyz and families of "deaders" from the tax money it collects for the authority. The law was passed last July and was approved for implementation by Israel’s security cabinet this year.
In 2019, the cabinet is withholding approximately $138 million.
[ALMASDARNEWS] Israel’s new Arrow-3 missile will "significantly limit the capabilities" of Syria’s S-300, Russia-based Lenta.Ru reported on Friday.
According to the Russian publication, the induction of the Arrow-3 system in Israel’s military will make their airspace ’impenetrable’.

In July, the number of persons unemployed less than 5 weeks increased by 240,000 to 2.2 million, while the number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) declined by 248,000 to 1.2 million. personally, I have doubts about the magnitude of this one month decrease in long term unemployment, as it is from the household survey, but even if it were only half as much as reported it is still wonderful news showing that even people with 6 months of unemployment are willing and able to find jobs.

Prosecutors said the mom suffocated Lexi on January 14, 2018, at her home before strangling the younger sister 18 days later.
"At times, her two children got in the way of her doing what she wanted, when she wanted and with whom she wanted," Prosecutor Oliver Saxby told the court.

[DAWN] LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Thursday awarded a man collective imprisonment of 29 years on different counts after finding him guilty of throwing acid on a private university’s teacher a month before her marriage, in January 2014.
Umar Farooq had attacked Huma Shahid with acid when she was going home from the university on an auto-rickshaw on College Road, Green Town.
Farooq was riding double, sometimes triple or quadruple with his friend Abdul Haq on a cycle of violence when they intercepted the rickshaw and threw acid on Ms Shahid.
The police investigation revealed that Farooq was friend of Ms Shahid’s fiancé and sent a marriage proposal to her. However, ars longa, vita brevis... the victim’s family rejected the proposal and also complained to the convict’s parents.
Farooq nurtured a grudge against Ms Shahid and in connivance with his friend threw acid on her.
Satokatla police had arrested Haq who was handed down 14-year term by the trial court.
Meanwhile, ...back at the wine tasting, Vince was about to start on his third quart... Farooq fled to Dubai where Interpol arrested him in April 2017 and handed him over to Pak authorities.

During his speech at the peace conference, the veteran Syrian diplomat accused Turkey of deploying more than 10,000 soldiers and 166 tanks inside of northern Syria.
The Syrian diplomat highlighted the fact that the Ottoman Turkish troops were acting as occupation force within a sovereign nation, adding that they were illegally inside of Syria.
Turkey maintains that they’re conducting "anti-terror operations" in line with an agreement with Syria that was established in the late 1990s.
Syria, on the other hand, says the agreement is null and void because Turkey broke off diplomatic relations in 2012.
While both Syria and Turkey have acknowledged that they share some intelligence reports, both nations have refused to move towards diplomatic rapprochement.
