[IsraelTimes] Military shifts focus to Jenin, where troops rip up roads to find bombs, work to establish ‘operational control’; army says 14 gunmen killed, over 25 suspects detained.
Troops have been operating in Jenin, considered by Israel to be one of the West Bank’s major terror hotspots, since early Wednesday, making it the longest operation in the territory in over 20 years.
The operation — internally dubbed "Summer Camps" by the army — began with simultaneous raids on Jenin, Tulkarem, and the Far’a camp near Tubas, with the goal of dismantling Iran-backed Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... terror networks in the three areas of the northern West Bank.
But the scale of the ongoing raid, as well as its stated goals, are far from what the Israel Defense Forces carried out in 2002’s month-long Operation Defense Shield during the Second Intifada.
So far, according to the IDF, more than 30 button men have been killed in the operation, among them the head of Hamas in Jenin and the head of Islamic Jihad in the Tulkarem area.
One Israeli soldier was killed in Jenin, and several more troops have been maimed in the raids.
The raids in Tulkarem and Far’a have since concluded. However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate... troops are pressing on with operations in Jenin, where early Monday, a dronezap was carried out against a group of Paleostinians who were hurling explosives at troops.
In Jenin alone, 14 terror operatives have been killed in festivities and four dronezaps; 25 wanted Paleostinians have been detained; some 20 weapons have been seized; and more than 30 bombs have been neutralized, the military said Monday evening.
Just hours after Monday morning’s dronezap, news hounds were given an escorted visit by the Israeli army to Jenin and the city’s refugee camp, where troops since Wednesday have been battling button men, locating weapon manufacturing labs, and ripping up roads to uncover bombs.
Senior IDF officials have said that the operations in Jenin are primarily aimed at giving the military "operational freedom" to be able to act there in the future to thwart terror attacks. This was also the stated goal of the last major operation in Jenin, more than a year ago.
By eroding the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror networks in the area, IDF officials said, the army would be able to more easily carry out arrests of wanted Paleostinians in Jenin and foil major terror attacks that are being planned from the area, using fewer forces and facing less-fierce resistance by local button men.
The IDF has been working to kill the leaders and operatives of the terror networks, as well as demolishing their bomb labs, though with the knowledge that the commanders and button men will likely be replaced and new explosive manufacturing sites established, though not immediately.
Still, military officials said that a balance needs to be found between the intensity of the operations and the repercussions of such raids, as Israel cannot afford to turn the West Bank into its primary front amid the ongoing fighting against Hamas in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... and heightened tensions on the northern border.
Israel also lacks the international legitimacy to carry out anything more major in the West Bank, such as staying in Jenin for extended periods of time, IDF officials noted.
The military believes that it can continue to operate at this pace in Jenin and other parts of the West Bank, with near-nightly arrest raids and major operations every few weeks or months, to thwart the attempts by Hamas and Islamic Jihad to grow, thus preventing major terror attacks on Israeli targets.
SCANNING FOR BOMBS, ESTABLISHING CONTROL
In Jenin’s refugee camp on Monday, the usually bustling streets were almost completely empty, and heavily damaged.
Some civilians, including municipal workers fixing up damaged infrastructure and local journalists, were walking about amid the army’s operations.
According to the IDF’s estimates, some 85 percent of the population had moved out of the camp during the raid, largely heading into the city itself. The IDF has allowed Paleostinian civilians to leave the area safely, although it has not issued any evacuation orders.
Many, but not all, of the roads in the camp were ripped up by IDF armored bulldozers, as combat engineers searched for and neutralized dozens of bombs planted under and on the side of the streets by local terror operatives.
Maj. Ron — whose last name was withheld due to security concerns — the chief combat engineer in the IDF’s Menashe Regional Brigade, told news hounds that "the bomb threat ramped up in the past year in the northern [West Bank] area, especially in Jenin."
"The bomb threat is developing, the enemy understands that this is its deadly weapon," the officer said, referring to three deadly roadside kabooms in the northern West Bank in recent months.
"[The enemy] tries to attack our forces on the roads, and our response to that is using the engineering vehicles, the bulldozers, backhoes, which allow us to open up the roads for the forces to reach their objectives," he said.
Chief Superintendent Zacky Tafesh, a senior Border Police officer who has been participating in the ongoing operation, said he had not seen this many bombs during a West Bank operation before.
"There are many bombs here. We haven’t encountered something like this in a long time. We are constantly encountering bombs. But with our experience we know how to deal with it very well," he said.
Asked if ripping up the roads is counterproductive, as it makes it harder for the IDF to locate new bombs planted along a damaged route in the future, Ron, the engineering officer, said "it’s a dilemma" but the goal is "to make sure that our troops aren’t harmed."
"We don’t do anything without thinking first. We don’t strike every area and leave behind total destruction. The engineering operation is not independent. It comes with intelligence," Ron said.
The officers noted that the IDF has not encountered any "game-changing" weapons in Jenin amid the operation so far, such as RPGs or more "high quality" bombs, but they said that they are aware of the possibility.
The engineering officer said, "Our goal in the end is to establish operational control in this area, and not allow them to develop and become stronger. We are here to establish operational control and kill as many button men as possible, which will let the IDF operate accordingly, with more freedom of action."
Tafesh also told news hounds that the goal of the operation, ultimately, is to secure "operational freedom" for future tasks.
"[It’s to] prevent bully boyz from coming from here and carrying out [attacks] on the home front. What we are required to do, as part of the mission, is to contain it all here. Carry out arrests, bring attackers to justice or kill them, and thwart terror attacks in Judea and Samaria, and within the country," he said.
"[The operation] is very significant. As long as the [terror] doesn’t leak out, and we foil it here, that’s an achievement for us. As long as there are no attacks on civilians or soldiers, this is an achievement for us. The required achievement is to foil the attacks before they are carried out," Tafesh added.
An important story — note that this is dated August 6, 2024. We had reports that the nine were accused — now we know the rest of the story.

[FDD] United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini announced the dismissal of nine of the agency’s employees for their potential involvement in the Hamas-led massacre in southern Israel on October 7. In a statement on August 5, Lazzarini explained that findings from an investigation by the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS), the UN’s internal oversight body, provided sufficient grounds to terminate the contracts of the individuals suspected of participating in the atrocities. “In the case of these remaining nine staff members, I have decided that they cannot work for UNRWA,” Lazzarini said. Some of the nine employees were already included among both the 12 staff members terminated and the seven placed on administrative leave over the allegations, Juliette Touma, communications director for UNRWA, later clarified.
However, Lazzarini refrained from assigning guilt to the dismissed employees, stating that the evidence, “if authenticated and corroborated – could indicate that the UNRWA staff members may have been involved in the attacks of 7 October.” The same investigation concluded that there was insufficient evidence to support allegations against 10 other UNRWA staff members accused of being involved in the October 7 atrocities carried out by Hamas terrorists in southern Israel.
In response, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, condemned the OIOS investigation as “a disgrace.” Erdan pointed out that the agency only probed 19 UNRWA employees, even though Israel had supplied the United Nations with “detailed information” regarding over 100 employees whom Erdan asserted were affiliated with Hamas.
HUNDREDS OF UNRWA PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN HAMAS ACTIVITIES.
On February 22, the Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv reported on an intelligence analysis presented to Israel’s war cabinet, which revealed that among the 12,000 employees of UNRWA in Gaza, 440 are actively involved in Hamas’s military operations. The report noted that around 2,000 more employees are supporters of Hamas but do not engage in its terrorist activities, while approximately 7,000 UNRWA employees have close relatives who are members of Hamas.
The United Nations does not classify Hamas as a terrorist organization. “Hamas is not a terrorist group for us … It’s a political movement,” Martin Griffiths, the UN’s under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator, stated on February 14.
[AlJazeera] The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has accused the Israeli government of “buying ads on Google to block users from giving donations” to the agency.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said in a post on X that Israel’s attempts to defame the agency both harm its reputation and put the lives of its staff at risk.
As if either is possible.
“These deliberate efforts to spread misinformation should stop + be investigated,” Lazzarini wrote on Saturday, calling for more regulations for companies, including social media platforms, to combat disinformation and hate speech.

Why does israel even have to pay? Google should be blocking UNRWA because it gives money to hamas
Google had no problem censoring to oblivion the good scientists and doctors warning that the mRNA gene-vaccines for covid were unsafe and wouldn’t work, and they were right
Google demonised them like byram bridle, and hid them off the search results
Google censored and hid the vax injured like maddie de garay
Howcome google cant censor hamas supporters? Money from Qatar buying in?
[ALLISRAEL] UNRWA-USA Chief Mara Kronenfeld sharply criticized an Israeli ad campaign seeking to defund the agency by highlighting the involvement of several of its workers in anti-Israel activism and outright terrorism.
For years, the State of Israel has maintained that UNRWA, the United Nations agency officially tasked with managing Palestinian refugees from the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, has been promoting hatred and violence against the Jewish state.
In its recent advertisement, “UNRWA Educating Terrorists Since 1949,” Israel held the controversial UN agency directly responsible for extremism and terrorism against Israel and Jews.
The advertisement highlights the significant number of anti-Israel individuals and terrorists who received their education through the UNRWA-led system in the Gaza Strip and Judea and Samaria (West Bank).
Israel's ad campaign seeks to defund UNRWA, arguing that the organization contributes to the problem rather than facilitating a solution to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
However, UNRWA-USA Chief Mara Kronenfeld slammed Israel's campaign.
“There is an incredibly powerful campaign to dismantle UNRWA,” Kronenfeld stated. “I want the public to know what’s happening and the insidious nature of it, especially at a time when civilian lives are under attack in Gaza,” she added.
Kronenfeld, who heads a seven-person staff in the United States, claimed that Israel is running a misinformation campaign against UNRWA. However, in August, the UN admitted that some UNRWA employees likely participated in the Oct. 7 Hamas invasion and attack on Israel.
“For nine people, the evidence was sufficient to conclude that they may have been involved in the seventh of October attacks,” UN representative Farhan Haq stated.
In January, the United States, Japan and several European nations temporarily suspended financial aid to UNRWA after Israel provided evidence that some UNRWA officials participated in the Oct. 7 attack.
Earlier this year, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant revealed the names of 12 UNRWA workers who took part in the Oct. 7 atrocities. Furthermore, Israeli intelligence has estimated that at least 12% of UNRWA’s 13,000 employees in Gaza have affiliations with Hamas and other terrorist organizations.
Following pressure from the United States and other Western nations, the UN claimed it would investigate the problematic ties between its UNRWA agency and the terrorist organization Hamas.
However, in April, a presumably independent panel stated: “Israel made public claims that a significant number of UNRWA employees are members of terrorist organisations. However, Israel has yet to provide supporting evidence of this.”
The purpose of the highly politicized report was to restore humanitarian aid to UNRWA, a goal largely realized as the U.S. and other Western nations resumed financial aid to UNRWA soon after.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry quickly blasted the report for ignoring the strong ties between Hamas and UNRWA.
"Hamas has infiltrated UNRWA so deeply that it is no longer possible to determine where UNRWA ends and where Hamas begins. More than 2,135 UNRWA workers are members of either Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), while one-fifth of UNRWA school administrators are Hamas members," the Israeli ministry stated.

0nce, in almost another lifetime, I was asked to take a position in Gaza which would have had me working directly with UNRWA. The person I was to replace met me and warned, "You will be working with a corrupt organization." I declined the offer. However, I have followed with interest the ups and downs (mostly downs) of UNRWA, and I believe it is as corrupt today as it was long ago when I turned down a job in Gaza.

In Darmstadt, a 24-year-old Afghan with German citizenship disregards red lights, drives onto the sidewalk at excessive speed and crashes into a car, seriously injuring the driver. The police are investigating a possible terrorist motive and are looking into indications of mental illness.
After his arrest, the 24-year-old driver of the BMW is said to have told police officers that he had acted by order of Allah. WELT learned this from security authorities.
The Afghans' legal ans moral consensus is a vile mental illness by Western standards and the legal and moral consensus of Western civilization is a vile mental illness by mainstream Islamic political standards.

...April of '95, while I was in KSA, they had a week straight of rain, giving us the nickname 'the Spring Break rotation'. There was literally no way to get to Al-Kharj from Riyadh.
Best part though was one senior NCO decided he was going to go to work just to prove a point. So, grabbing one of the couple dozen Land Cruisers we had at our disposal, he managed to make it to the town proper and almost got to the base.
See, you had to drive through a pretty good-sized swamp just north of the town to get to the base. That swamp was the sewage lagoon for the good people of Al-Kharj, and he managed to go off the road and sink the Land Cruiser.

I can't condemn the area... it's a lot like that a few blocks from me... but she's avoiding it.
I don't live in one like that as the property taxes alone are over $100,000 per year on homes like many of those in this blue state. That said the heating bill in the winter for that much space in Montreal has got to be a killer.
In areas like that one really wants to live in the little unincorporated areas between the rich suburbs ... (usually 1/2 the property tax with little differences like qualified sheriff;s deputies instead of small city cops, front walks that you are required to shovel and a library stocked with books that don't interest you. All stuff that makes double the taxes look stupid)

Homeowners in Sonoma and Napa counties will also see particularly large increases, with rates in the 95442 ZIP code in Sonoma rising an average of 164%. (San Francisco Chronicle)
Our House apprised value (not that anyone would buy it 7.7%)
went from $145K to $220K,
Car & House insurance went a little over $1325,
Annual property taxes went up another $723,
Food, Med's & OTC med's are up 18% to $32% depending on the item,
Water & Power Costs are up 7.8% here,
The county increased the School Tax 3%,
The county has a RAIN TAX now, because it stole $$$$ out of the Maintenance budget and now has need of it.
Medical Insurance with a $1K deductible, is up another $1245 a year for the wife.
Which means we'll be losing $4K+ a year in buying power compared to just 2023.
All told, the O'Biden/Harris &other State/Metro LSD Puppet Regimes have hosed the economy.

IIUC, it hasn't rained yet. These anomalies are of water vapor in the atmosphere.
We've only been able to reliably measure this via satellite in the past 20 years or so as the measurement matrix has gotten more dense and the ability to vary the wavelength detection has improved.
Thus the 'six standard deviations' is basically a wild guess.

using biomarkers to estimate annual rainfall is tricky but if you had a big enough sample it would be doable
but it would be impossible to use biomarkers to estimate episodal rainfall

Hamas has released a video on Telegram on Monday showing the six recently slain hostages speaking into a camera, while also announcing that it will release their “last message to the world” before they were killed.
In the video, all six hostages whose bodies were found by the IDF [Israel Defense Forces] on Sunday are seen confirming their identities before cutting to a still frame threatening to release their “last messages.”
The video ends with a threat to release the message in the coming hours
.
As Breitbart News noted, the six hostages were murdered in cold blood before they could be rescued by Israeli soldiers. They included American-Israeli hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and IDF Master Sergeant Ori Danino. All six were executed by being shot in the head.
The family of one hostage, Eden Yerushalmi, approved the release of a portion of the video in which she talks about how she loves her family.

Hamas are in America, it is just the name used by the apakestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood
They are more dangerous when they are peaceful, hard-working migrants having lots of children
Because then they infiltrate media, academia, politics, think tanks, science snd always working towards the advancement of Islam at the expense of the non-Muslims
Their ultimate goal is to wipe you out and replace your culture with Islam under Sharia in the global caliphate
These are globalists

This is a very sad situation, IMhO Israel should have given up the hostages for lost on October 8 and immediately set about rounding up all the Arab Muslims of Gaza and shipping or driving them into Egypt and Joedan (which is palestine)
Just get all of them out of west bank and gaza never to return and flood the tunnels
It should all have been finished nobody left there within 2 months max. Let only christians, jews and atheists back no muslims

No sooner had Bibi announced that they were going to war against Gaza until Hamas was eradicated, Anon1, than the entire noisy part of the world reared up on their hind legs and ordered Israel to go slowly and gently with care for the innocent civilians, to take breaks in the action, to avoid schools, offices, UNWRA buildings, news people, government officials, etc…
Had Israel not been micromanaged, especially by President Biden and his team, they would indeed have been done in three months. And if Egypt had not resolutely resolved to be actively unhelpful, most of Gaza’s residents would have moved from “refugee camps” in Gaza to refugee camps in the Egyptian Sinai.

[FE] It’s one thing to acquire nice stuff over time. It’s another thing to keep it that way. Cars, carpet, alligator skin boots—anything you use and abuse—has a shelf life. But guns? No reason great ones can’t last generations doing what they were designed to do, i.e., shoot, if they’re well taken care of. But a weird thing happens when these SAAMI-certified hunks of steel are allowed to routinely bump and slide around in the back of an ATV or even in a dirty canvas bag on your way to and from the range. Add a little moisture and a sprinkle of neglect and presto, the indestructible 1911 that was once the belle of the ball soon begins looking like Merle Haggard’s guitar pick.
It’s a shame it took me half a lifetime to figure out, but investing in a dedicated $125 case to protect $3,500 worth of guns sure isn’t the dumbest thing I’ve ever done. But it’s not just any case that I picked up; it’s a Condition 1 waterproof, dustproof hard case that’s custom cut to hold 5 handguns and 20 magazines. For me the organization value alone is worth it, based on my history of arriving at the range only to realize I forgot extra mags. Besides that, I love the fact that each pistol is sandwiched vertically in rigid foam so I can clamp the lid shut and literally toss the whole case in the back of my truck and not worry about them until I get where I’m going. Once on the range, I’ve found the case is equally handy when used as a pistol holder that keeps five guns clean, on-hand and pointed slightly downward. It beats the hell out of my normal MO of having guns spread out everywhere all over the tailgate, flagging everyone around.

Another war we have no business fuelling. This is terrible
We have no fight with russia they are not our enemy and their incursion into ukraine was justified because ukraine was killing russian speakers in the donbass
This war would never have started but for careerist neocons like victoria nuland at us state dept . She and her ilk are responsible for at least 500,000 dead mostly young white men who had their whole lives ahead of them and will now never have a family or play music or study or enjoy life
This is just evil. Cut off the money and the war ends. Ukraine is over and deserves to lose.
[Epoch Times] The United States and ambassadors of several other countries have condemned Beijing’s recent aggressive behavior in the South China Sea after its coast guard ship rammed into another Philippine vessel on Aug. 31.
U.S. Ambassador to the Phillippines MaryKay Carlson and ambassadors of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan voiced their concerns on X over Beijing’s escalations in the South China Sea.
In a statement, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said the United States stands with the Philippines and condemns the "dangerous and escalatory actions by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) against lawful Philippine maritime operations in the vicinity of Sabina Shoal in the South China Sea" on Aug. 31.
Manila stated that the Chinese Coast Guard vessel "deliberately rammed and collided with the BRP Teresa Magbanua three times, despite no provocation from the Philippine Coast Guard," and corroborated its assertion with three videos on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that appear to show moments before and during each collision.
The latest skirmish between the Chinese regime and the Philippines occurred near the Sabina Shoal, which China refers to as the Xianbin Jiao (Xianbin Reef) and the Filipinos call the Escoda Shoal.
It’s part of the disputed Spratly Islands over which both Beijing and Manila claim sovereignty.
According to the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), up to 200 nautical miles off the coast of a nation counts as its exclusive economic zone, and the Sabina Shoal—which is much closer to the Philippines than it is to China—falls within the Philippines’s exclusive economic zone.
A 2016 Permanent Court of Arbitration ruling in The Hague also found that the Chinese regime had no legal basis for its territorial claims over the South China Sea. Beijing stated that the court doesn’t have the power to rule on territorial disputes and passed a domestic law that it claims allows its coast guard to detain foreigners it views as trespassers while ramping up aggression in the area.
It’s the fourth sea incident and the third collision incident in a month over which Beijing and Manila publicly traded accusations. The Inclusion of air incidents makes it the seventh skirmish.
At least 10 people were killed and more than 40 maimed in air strikes by Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... 's army on the city of Mellit in North Darfur on Monday, a witness said.
The strikes came as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which has been battling the army since April, launched a wave of arrests in the area, a witness said.
A warplane dropped around 10 bombs on Mellit, eight of which hit the al-Nasr and al-Qubba neighbourhoods and destroyed four houses, the witness added. Two bombs fell in the al-Aish and al-Tawahin market, causing deaths, injuries and extensive damage.
The RSF arrested more than 30 people, including traders and members of an emergency committee, accusing them of collaborating with the army and providing coordinates for the air strikes, the witness added.
Recently, the army carried out regular air attacks on the RSF position in Mellit and several parts of Darfur, as reports speak about preparations by the paramilitary group to attack El Fasher.
Fighting between two RSF factions in Mellit last week killed seven RSF elements after a group from West Darfur state tried to loot the main market and was resisted by local people, the witness said.
The RSF seized Mellit, which lies about 57 km (35 miles) north of the state capital El Fasher, in April.
Mellit is strategically important as it is located on the border of North Darfur with North state, and the al-Dabba-El Fasher road, which the Sudanese government has designated as a route for humanitarian aid to Darfur, passes through it.
It is also a gateway for vehicles coming from Libya and has one of the largest customs points in Darfur.

The Reason Islam's So Keen on Hating Us
By Raymond Ibrahim
"The fact is, even if you were to stop bombing us, imprisoning us, torturing us, vilifying us, and usurping our lands, we would continue to hate you because our primary reason for hating you will not cease to exist until you embrace Islam. Even if you were to pay jizyah and live under the authority of Islam in humiliation, we would continue to hate you."

[Regnum] E. coli and salmonella were found in food products from the Nur cafe in the city of Tetyushi in Tatarstan, where a girl was poisoned. This was shown by the results of laboratory tests, the press service of the regional Rospotrebnadzor reported on September 2.
Unexpectedly.
The department specified that coliform bacteria were found in the shawarma preparation, boiled chicken, and four environmental samples. Salmonella was found in raw chicken.
“This indicates non-compliance with the technology of cooking and dishwashing,” REN TV quoted the Rospotrebnadzor message.
…not to mention not washing hands thoroughly with soap after using the bathroom, even if the only technology involved is a hole in the ground and a sluice bucket.
The food service establishment's products were disposed of. By a court decision, the cafe's operations were suspended for 80 days.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, the schoolgirl died after eating shawarma bought in a cafe in the city of Tetyushi in Tatarstan. The eleven-year-old girl felt ill shortly after eating the dish, she was very nauseous. Two days later, the child was hospitalized in a state of acute toxic poisoning and shock.
Doctors tried to save the schoolgirl for five days, but she died on the night of August 27. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the child's death under the article on providing services that do not meet safety requirements. The body was sent for examination to establish the exact cause of death.
An epidemiological investigation was conducted with respect to the cafe where the shawarma was prepared. Rospotrebnadzor specialists identified a number of violations, including non-compliance with the sanitary and disinfection regime. The cafe's activities were temporarily suspended, and the materials were submitted to the court.
[IsraelTimes] UK military group says no injuries aboard merchant vessel, which is heading to next port of call, as efforts ongoing to salvage million barrels of crude on still-blazing Sounion
Suspected attacks by Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... ’s Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... rebels targeted two ships in the Red Sea on Monday, authorities said, just north of where crews hope to salvage a tanker loaded with oil and still ablaze after another assault by the group.
Monday’s attacks mark the latest in the Iranian-backed terror group’s campaign that has disrupted the $1 trillion in goods that pass through the Red Sea each year, as well as halted some aid shipments to conflict-ravaged Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... and Yemen.
Meanwhile,
...back at the shouting match, the spittle had reached unprecedented levels... the efforts to salvage the still-burning Sounion seek to head off the potential ecological disaster posed by its cargo of 1 million barrels of crude oil.
In Monday’s first assault, two projectiles hit the vessel, and a third explosion occurred near the ship, the British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center said.
"Damage control is underway," the UKMTO said. "There are no casualties onboard and the vessel is proceeding to its next port of call."
The timing of the attack and coordinates offered by the UKMTO corresponded to the reported path of the Panama-flagged oil tanker Blue Lagoon I, now traveling south through the Red Sea to an unlisted destination. The Blue Lagoon I was coming from Russia’s port of Ust-Luga on the Baltic Sea and had been broadcasting that it had Russian-origin cargo on board.
In recent months, the Blue Lagoon I traveled to India, which gets more than 40% of its oil imports from Russia despite Moscow’s ongoing war on Ukraine and the international sanctions it faces over it. The Greek-based firm operating the ship could not be immediately reached.
Later Monday morning, the UKMTO reported a second attack off the Houthi-controlled port city of Hodeida. The private security firm Ambrey said an aerial drone hit a merchant ship, though no damage or injuries were reported. The attack happened only a few kilometers (miles) from where the Blue Lagoon I attack occurred, Ambrey said.
The Houthis did not immediately claim responsibility for the attacks. However,
women are made to be loved, not understood... it can take the group hours or even days to acknowledge their assaults.
The Houthis have targeted more than 80 vessels with missiles and drones since Israel’s war on Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... started in October. The group seized one vessel and sank two in the campaign that also killed four sailors. Other missiles and drones have either been intercepted by a United States-led coalition in the Red Sea or failed to reach their targets.
Meanwhile Monday, a salvage effort appeared to be underway to tow away the Sounion oil tanker, which was earlier hit by the Houthis and abandoned by its crew. Jamel Amer, an official with the Houthis, wrote online Saturday that tug boats assigned to pull the Sounion away should arrive Sunday. However,
women are made to be loved, not understood... NASA fire satellites showed a blaze at the site of where the Sounion had been abandoned on Monday morning.
The Sounion was carrying some 1 million barrels of oil when the Houthis initially attacked it on Aug. 21 with small arms fire, projectiles and a drone boat. A French destroyer operating as part of the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... ’s Operation Aspides rescued the Sounion’s crew of 25 Filipinos and Russians, as well as four private security personnel, after they abandoned the vessel and took them to nearby Djibouti.
Last week, the Houthis released footage showing they planted explosives on board the Sounion and blew them up in a propaganda video, something the rebels have done before in their campaign.
[IsraelTimes] Iran-backed Houthi rebels carried out ballistic missile attacks against two crude oil tankers in the Red Sea on Monday morning, US Central Command confirms.
In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM says that the two vessels were identified as the Panama-flagged and owned, Greek-operated MV BLUE LAGOON I and the Saudi-flagged, owned and operated MV AMJAD.
Both crude oil tankers were targeted with “two ballistic missiles and a one-way attack uncrewed aerial system,” CENTCOM states.
It adds that the MV AMJAD was carrying around two million barrels of oil, close to twice the amount that was aboard the Greek-owned tanker that has been on fire in the Red Sea since August 23.

NATO has got to stop futtzing around and really go after the Houthis, and go after Sanaa itself (which is now ruled by Houthis). Especially, go after the Houthi provinces, Amran, Aj Jawf, Marib, and return the Houthis to the 13th Century where they belong.
[IsraelTimes] High-security court tries in absentia religious leader Muhammed Ashraf Jalali and Saad Hussain Rizvi, head of hardline TLP party
Two Pak men stood trial in absentia Monday at a high-security court in the Netherlands over alleged attempts to incite the murder of far-right and anti-Islam Dutch leader Geert Wilders.
Dutch prosecutors have charged 56-year-old religious leader Muhammed Ashraf Jalali for calling on his followers to kill Wilders and promising they would be "rewarded in the afterlife."
Another man, Saad Hussain Rizvi, leader of the Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) party, is suspected of urging followers to kill Wilders after Pak cricketer Khalid Latif was sentenced for incitement to murder him.
"This case has had a huge impact on me and my family," said Wilders, dressed in a dark suit, white shirt, and maroon tie.
"I’m asking this court to send a strong signal... that calling a fatwa in this country is unacceptable," he added.
The trial took place at a highly secure courthouse near Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport.
Neither of the men is believed to be in the country, and Pakistain has no extradition agreement with the Netherlands. Prosecutors said in a statement that requests they sent to Pak authorities seeking legal assistance to serve subpoenas on the two men were not executed.
Dutch authorities asked Islamabad for legal assistance to question the suspects and demand they appear in court.
However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly... no treaty exists with Pakistain for mutual legal assistance. Neither man had legal representation present.
’DEATH THREATS’
In September last year, judges sentenced Latif to 12 years behind bars for incitement to murder Wilders after the firebrand ...firebrands are noted more for audio volume and the quantity of spittle generated than for any actual logic in their arguments... politician sought to arrange a competition for cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.
Wilders canceled the cartoon contest after protests broke out in Pakistain and he was inundated with death threats. He has been under 24-hour state protection since 2004.
The planned competition "caused a lot of unrest within the Moslem community. He (Wilders) received hundreds if not thousands of death threats," said the judge, who asked not to be identified.
In the Netherlands, the plan to stage the contest was widely criticized as needlessly antagonizing Moslems.
But the call to kill Wilders appeared to resonate, as a Pak man was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2019 for plotting his liquidation in the wake of the canceled contest.
Wilders said in court he had planned the contest because "it’s unacceptable that you are not allowed freedom of speech... in countries where it is permitted by law."
"For the past 20 years I have been robbed of my freedom because of what I think, say, write, and do," said Wilders.
"Fatwas are the worst of all. They never go away. I still receive death threats on a daily basis," added the politician.
Wilders told judges of the impact of the threats on his life, that has been lived under intense security since 2004. Two armed military police sat in court throughout the brief trial.
"Every day you get up and leave for work in armored cars, often with sirens on, and you are always aware somewhere in the back of your mind that this could be your last day," Wilders told the court.
"I’m 60 now, I haven’t been free since I was 40," he added.
The public prosecutor called for Jalali to receive 14 years in prison. Six years were requested against Rizvi with a verdict expected on September 9.
"The aim of the suspect (Jalali) was to kill Wilders. He (Jalali) had great influence in Pakistain," alleged the prosecutor, who asked to remain anonymous.
"Unfortunately we see politicians being more and more threatened because of what they say and think."
The hardline TLP religious group is known for its massive street protests over blasphemy ...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran... allegations that can paralyze cities for days.
It brought tens of thousands of people to the streets after Gay Paree-based satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo ...Pix/Hebdo2.pngA lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe... republished cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed in 2020.
[NYPOST] Up to 7,000 unruly anti-Israeli protesters— including some proudly waving Hamas flags — stormed through the Big Apple on Labor Day, lighting flares and setting off smoke bombs as they marched toward the heart of the city.
The chaotic demonstrators gathered at Union Square in Manhattan in the early afternoon and began their raucous march to Washington Square Park.
Video footage shows NYPD officials attempting to halt the march, only to be shoved aside by a few of the demonstrators.
Blue and red flares filled the air with smoke as the group marched on.
The crowd, which law-enforcement sources said hit around 7,000 at one point, waved Hamas terrorist flags along with Palestinian, Syrian, Iranian and Hezbollah banners, chanting ''Free Palestine!'' and ''Resistance is justified when people are occupied.'' Hezbollah is a Lebanese terror group that has been fighting with the Palestinians against Israel in the Gaza war.
One protester waved a traditional Muslim keffiyeh scarf to block a TV camera, while another called a news crew ''a disgrace'' to the US.
A counter-protester with an Israeli flag was berated by the crowd.
''Throw it away, and put that piece of s—t in the garbage,'' an anti-Israel demonstrator yelled. ''Say it loud, say it clear, we don't want Zionists here!''
Others called the counter-protesters ''baby-killers.''
A New Yorker who pedaled up on a Citi Bike tried to stand up to the anti-Israel mob — only to be booed and cursed out.
''I just think they're wrong,'' the man, who only wanted to be as identified as Bruce, told The Post. ''I think that nobody is pushing back. You gotta push back respectfully. I think they're misinformed.''
Misinformation is not their problem, truly. It’s simply that, like the original Nazis, they enjoy being evil.
Four people were arrested, law-enforcement sources said.
The mass protest is just the latest show of disorder by anti-Israeli marchers since the Jewish state retaliated for the sneak attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7 — with protests spreading to college campuses in the city and throughout the nation.
[IsraelTimes] The White House rips into an anti-Israel protest that was held earlier today in New York and included the waving of flags of the Hamas ..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,... terror organization.
Seven thousand people attended the protest, only
four of whom were arrested after clashing with police. A show of farce.
"As President Biden and Vice President Harris have said, there is absolutely no place in America for the poison of antisemitism — none," White House spokesperson Andrew Bates says in a statement to The Times of Israel.
"They and the entire Biden-Harris Administration condemn any individual associating with the repugnant terrorist organization Hamas."
"It is especially heinous to express support for Hamas on the same day as the funeral for an innocent American hostage who they brutally murdered," Bates adds, referring to Hersh Goldberg-Polin whose body was recovered by the IDF over the weekend after his Hamas captors killed him along with five other hostages.
"This is a moment for all Americans to come together and stand against antisemitism and against the sickening hate and evil that Hamas represents," says the White House spokesperson.

[Korrespondent] 19:28 Zelensky said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region is fulfilling its tasks and is going according to plan. "As for the difficulties in the Pokrovsky and Toretsky directions, we believe that the Kursk operation can also affect this. There may be a decrease in the escalation due to the reduction in the number of Russian troops. But for now it is difficult there," the president admitted.
11:12 Putin called the Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region an attempt to stop Russia's offensive in Donbass, but, according to him, this was not possible. He also said that Moscow has never refused peace talks, but "we need to deal with the bandits" who have penetrated the country's territory. According to the head of the Kremlin, the current Ukrainian authorities are allegedly not interested in ending the fighting because they do not want to hold presidential elections.
09:57 Military journalist Andrey Tsaplienko visited the Kursk region and in his report told what is happening in the territory controlled by Ukraine. According to him, the Russian army is killing its own citizens with KABs in the territory of Sudzha and other settlements of the region that are under the control of the Ukrainian military. The Ukrainian commandant's office is perceived by locals as an authority, and some local residents no longer want to return to Russia.
09:56 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that Russia has redeployed several units from the Pokrovsk direction to the Kursk region. Thus, Russian publics claimed on August 14 and 17 that at least a company of the Russian 15th Motorized Rifle Brigade had redeployed from the Pokrovsk direction to the Kursk region. Also, according to OSINT organizations, Russia has redeployed elements of the 1st "Slavic" Motorized Rifle Brigade from the Donetsk direction to the Kursk region.
The redeployed units were probably reserve units that the Russian military command intended to use to strengthen the group in the Toretsk and Pokrovsky directions, analysts believe.
[BBC] Police units around the world have joined forces in a series of covert operations targeting one of West Africa’s most feared criminal networks - Black Axe.
It started out forty years ago as a Nigerian student fraternity in Benin City, Edo State, then blossomed into an international crime syndicate with an estimated 30,000+ members that generates billions of dollars in revenues from internet fraud, s3x trafficking, money laundering, and the occasional murder.
Operation Jackal III saw officers in body armour carry out raids in 21 countries between April and July 2024.
The mission, co-ordinated by global policing agency Interpol, led to the arrest of 300 people with links to Black Axe and other affiliated groups.
Interpol called the operation a "major blow" to the Nigerian crime network, but warned that its international reach and technological sophistication mean it remains a global threat.
In one notorious example, Canadian authorities said they had busted a money-laundering scheme linked to Black Axe worth more than $5bn (£3.8bn) in 2017.
"They are very organised and very structured," Tomonobu Kaya, a bigwig at Interpol’s Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre, told the BBC.
According to a 2022 report by Interpol, "Black Axe and similar groups are responsible for the majority of the world’s cyber-enabled financial fraud as well as many other serious crimes".
Mr Kaya said innovations in money-transfer software and cryptocurrency have played into the hands of group, which are renowned for multi-million dollar online scams.
"These criminal syndicates are early adopters of new technologies... A lot of fintech developments make it really easy to illegally move money around the world," he said.
Operation Jackal III was years in the making and led to the seizure of $3m of illegal assets and more than 700 bank accounts being frozen.
Many Black Axe members are university educated and are recruited during their schooling.
The organization is a secretive criminal network with trafficking, prostitution and killing operations around the world.
Cyber-crime, targeting individuals and businesses, is the organization's largest source of revenue.
Multiple so-called "Jackal" police operations have taken place since 2022.
Dozens of Black Axe and other gang members have been arrested and their electronic devices seized during these transnational raids. This work has enabled Interpol to create a vast intelligence database, which is now shared with officers throughout its 196 member countries.
"We need to have data and to collate our findings from these countries to help build a picture of their modus operandi," said Mr Kaya.
Despite multiple international arrests, some experts feel not enough is being done to address the root of these crime syndicates in West Africa.
"The emphasis must actually be on prevention not on outright operations against these criminal groups," said Dr Oluwole Ojewale, West Africa Regional Co-ordinator from the Institute for Security Studies.
Nigeria, which has witnessed widespread anti-corruption protests in recent weeks, is one of Africa’s largest economies, but has as many as 87 million people living below the poverty line, according to the World Bank. It is also the main recruitment ground for Black Axe.
Interpol said it was carrying out training exercises with key Nigerian stakeholders and police officials. But corruption, and allegations of collusion between Black Axe and local authorities, remain major obstacles.
"It is the politicians who are actually arming these boys," said Dr Ojewale. "The general failure of governance in the country has made pressures for people to be initiated [into Black Axe]."
Despite its current global reach, Interpol’s Jackal Operations have their origins in Ireland.
Following a series of police raids by the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB) in 2020, a handful of Black Axe members were arrested, paving the way for the exposure of a far wider network.
"They were very under the radar, very low-key," said Michael Cryan, detective superintendent at the GNECB, which led the operation.
"The amount of money being laundered through Ireland was astronomical," he added.
The police subsequently identified 1,000 people with links to Black Axe in Ireland and have made hundreds of arrests for fraud and cyber-crime.
"Bank robberies are now done with laptops - they’re far more sophisticated," said Det Supt Cryan.
He estimates €200m ($220m; £170m) have been stolen online in Ireland in the past five years, and that only accounts for the 20% of cyber-crimes that are believed to be reported.
"This is not typical or ordinary crime... People who make decisions need to know how serious this is," he said.
Irish police operations in November 2023 revealed that cryptocurrency - which can be sent rapidly between digital wallets around the world - is becoming an integral element in Black Axe’s money-laundering operations.
More than €1m in crypto-assets were seized during one operation.
Interpol has deployed its own new technology in an attempt to tackle these innovations, launching the Global Rapid Intervention of Payments system (I-GRIP).
The mechanism, which enables the authorities in member countries to freeze bank accounts around the world with unprecedented speed, was used to halt a $40m scam targeting a Singaporean business last month.
Interpol's Mr Kaya said technology like this would make it harder for criminals to move money across borders with impunity.

[IsraelTimes] FM Lammy cites risk military equipment might be used to commit violations of international law in Gaza; Israel says move sends ‘wrong’ message to Hamas, insists military is lawful
Britannia said Monday it would immediately suspend dozens of arms export licenses with Israel because there is a risk the equipment might be used to commit serious violations of international humanitarian law, drawing rebuke from Israeli officials.
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy said the decision to suspend 30 of 350 arms licenses did not amount to a blanket ban or an arms embargo, but only involved items with concerns over their use during the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. "It is with regret that I inform the House (of Commons, the lower house of parliament) today the assessment I have received leaves me unable to conclude anything other than that for certain UK arms exports to Israel, there does exist a clear risk that they might be used to commit or facilitate a serious violation of international humanitarian law," Lammy said.
"The UK continues to support Israel’s right to self-defense in accordance with international law," he added.
Soon after the Labour Party won an election in July, Lammy said he would update a review on arms sales to Israel to ensure these complied with international law.
Unlike the United States, Britannia’s government does not give arms directly to Israel, but rather issues licenses for companies to sell weapons, with input from lawyers on whether they comply with international law.
The decision was formally made by Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds, with Lammy’s backing.
Responding to the announcement, Foreign Minister Israel Katz said Israel was "disappointed" with recent decisions made by the UK government relating to the war in Gaza.
"Israel is a state of law that operates in accordance with international law and has an independent and respected judicial system," Katz said in a statement. "We expect ally nations like Britannia to recognize that every day, and especially mere days after the execution of six Israeli hostages by Hamas terrorists."
Katz added that "a step like the one taken now by Britannia sends a problematic message to the Hamas terrorist organization and its handlers in Iran," but that he hoped the relationship between Israel and the UK could remain strong in the future.
British exports amount to less than one percent of the total arms Israel receives, and Lammy told parliament the suspension would not have a material impact on Israel’s security.
The export licenses pertain to components for Israel’s aerial systems, including fighter jets, helicopters, and drones. It does not pertain to the F-35 program, which is a multinational project that pools parts before disbursing them to participating countries, including Israel.
Lammy’s Labour party instituted a review of the licenses after they returned to power in July, and Lammy has visited Israel twice since assuming office.
British officials have not said that Israel is violating humanitarian law, but believe there is a serious risk, according to the two-month assessment.
The suspension could be lifted in the future if the UK assesses that the risk of violations has diminished.
Britannia’s center-left Labour government has repeatedly called for a ceasefire in the Gaza war, and for the speeding up of aid deliveries into Gaza, since taking power on July 5.
It has followed the same approach to the conflict as the previous Conservative government, with Lammy and other ministers at pains to demand Hamas release the hostages seized in its October 7 massacre as part of any ceasefire.
Some commentators have suggested, however, that Labour, led by Keir Starmer — a former human rights ...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty... lawyer — may take a tougher long-term stance toward Israel and how it conducts its military operations.
Last week, the UK foreign ministry said it was "deeply" concerned by an Israeli military operation in the West Bank, urging it to "exercise restraint" and adhere to international law.
Israel responded to the Hamas October attack with a military offensive aimed at destroying the terror group in Gaza and freeing the hostages. Over the weekend the IDF recovered the bodies of six hostages who were executed by Hamas as troops closed in on their location.

All the smart people running Britain knew that Communism was the inevitable future of humanity, so they worked on guiding the decline. The government and the professional classes were riddled with fellow travellers and traitors.
And now they’re guiding the decline to colonizing Islam instead of creeping Communism.
Today, @POTUS and I met with the U.S. hostage deal negotiation team. The murder of Hersh Goldberg-Polin and five other hostages was a brutal, barbaric act by Hamas terrorists. As @POTUS said, Hamas leaders will pay for these crimes.
[IsraelTimes] Horrified and outraged by Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... ’s murder of six Israeli hostages, the US has reportedly conveyed a message to Israel that it should consider scaling back its military activities for fear the gunnies might kill more hostages as the IDF forces operate in the area.
Channel 12 News says the message conveyed by the US encourages Israel to "weigh" reducing its military activities in the Strip, citing the "tangible danger" to the hostages of IDF activity near places where they are held. Hamas is widely reported to have told captors to kill hostages if they fear the IDF closing in.
The network reports the warning is issued on the basis of US intelligence.
Citing US sources, the report also says the Americans intend to "speed up" their presentation of an anticipated final bridging proposal for a ceasefire-hostage deal, and that they are seeking another summit in Doha.
It adds that Mossad chief David Barnea, Israel’s chief negotiator, flew to and from Doha today for a brief series of meetings.
[NYPOST] As colleges begin the new school year, ''pro-Paleostine'' protesters need to start asking who's really calling the shots: It may be agents of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran.
The Post's Isabel Vincent reported exclusively Friday that Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... is funding anti-Israel, pro-Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... groups and campus protests via a network of activist groups whose names bear no sign of Tehran's ties.
For instance, members of the Texas-based Rise Against Oppression (which downplays its links to Iran) ''reclaimed'' a student center at Houston University in April.
Many pro-Paleostinian groups also get funding (directly, or via the radicalTides Foundation) from the Maximum Difference Foundation, the US family charity of an extended clan whose members back in Iran are tight with the family of Iran's former President Akbar Rafsanjani and have worked with Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
''Following the October 7th attacks . . . Tehran has poured money and logistical support into anti-Israel and pro-terror rallies, encampments and civil disorder,'' said Sam Westrop, director of Middle East Forum's Islamist Watch project.
Westrop added that the Iranian regime ''appears to operate mosques, activist and student groups that are deeply involved in pro-terror demonstrations, alongside Beijing-backed and Hamas-aligned groups.''

[NY Post] Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro’s plane was seized by US authorities in the Dominican Republic, according to a report.
The Dassault Falcon 900 — which has been pictured with Maduro on state visits all over the world — was taken after US authorities determined that it was acquired in violation of US sanctions and other criminal issues, two US officials told CNN.
The US flew the plane to Florida on Monday, the sources said.
"This sends a message all the way up to the top," one of the US officials told CNN.
"Seizing the foreign head of state’s plane is unheard-of for criminal matters. We’re sending a clear message here that no one is above the law, no one is above the reach of US sanctions."
Maduro’s plane was estimated to be worth about $13 million.
It was not clear why it had been in the Dominican Republic in recent months.
The seizure was executed by multiple agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations; Commerce agents, the Bureau of Industry and Security; and the Justice Department, CNN said.
The US also worked closely with the Dominican Republic, which informed Venezuela of the seizure, one of the US officials said.
The next steps will be pursuing forfeiture — which will give the Venezuelan government a chance to petition for the airplane — and collecting evidence from the plane, the outlet continued.
The seizure is an escalation in the tense relationship between the US and Venezuela, as the US investigates alleged corruption within the Venezuelan government.
Over the years, the US has tried to disrupt the flow of cash to the Maduro regime, with Homeland Security Investigations seizing dozens of luxury cars and other assets en route to the country, CNN explained.
In August, the US said that there was no evidence that Maduro won the latest presidential election in July.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken, 62, ripped the Maduro-controlled National Electoral Council’s (CNE) vote tally as "deeply flawed" and unrepresentative of the "will of the Venezuelan people," in a statement released by the State Department.
The US also reimposed sanctions on Venezuela’s oil and gas sector earlier this year in response to the Maduro government’s failure to allow a fair election.
After the contested July 28 election, Venezuela suspended commercial flights to and from the Dominican Republic.
In March 202, the US Department of Justice charged Maduro and 14 other current and former officials with narco-terrorism, drug trafficking and corruption.
There is a reward of up to $15 million for information leading to his arrest or conviction.
The situation in Venezuela has a major impact on US politics, as millions of migrants elect to leave the country in favor of crossing the US-Mexico border.
As of June 2024, 7.7 million people have fled Venezuela — the largest displacement in the Western hemisphere.
"We see these officials and the Maduro regime basically fleecing the Venezuelan people for their own gain," a US official told CNN.
"You have people who can’t even afford a loaf of bread there and then you have the president of Venezuela jetting around in a high-class private jet."

If the venezuelans want to nationalise their oil and live like socialists then frankly it is none of our business and the US should stop punishing them for the free choices they make
It isnt your business and no exxon mobile is not entitled to venezuelas oil that is for them to decide
US has enough problems policing its own border. Just build the wall and stop meddling
[Rudaw] Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Saturday announced the arrest of an alleged "prominent" leader in the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) in the capital of Baghdad, as security forces continue to pursue the faceless myrmidons countrywide.
A force from the PMF "was able to overthrow a prominent leader in the remnants of the terrorist ISIS in the province of Baghdad," it said in a statement, identifying the suspect by the initials "A.B.R."
He is accused of assisting another ISIS official in southern Baghdad and has been referred to court for legal procedures, the statement added.

's eastern Gederaf state closed the Gallabat border crossing with Æthiopia on Sunday after the Fano militia seized the nearby Æthiopian town of Metemma, sources told Sudan Tribune.
The Amhara region, which borders Gederaf, has frequently festivities between Fano and government forces since the federal government signed a peace deal with Tigrayan forces in 2020.
The sources said the Sudanese authorities allowed Æthiopian federal police and army personnel to cross into Sudan after they were disarmed. In return, Fano allowed Sudanese stranded at the border to cross into Æthiopia.
Thousands of Sudanese have crossed into Æthiopia through Gallabat since conflict broke out in Sudan in April between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Fano also seized the Æthiopian border crossing at Metemma, aiming to cut off supplies of fuel and food to the Amhara region from Sudan, the sources said.

What sort of strange formula was used to derive this. Youngest son lives in Seattle - a definite NO. Portland a hell no. Boston - yuck... Atlanta a traffic snarl. Actually most have bad traffic problems.

I'm just fine right where I am. I lived near Boston in 91-92 small tow, Woburn. I lived outside of Portland in 1990, Beaverton. Portland was OK back then, so was Boston.

I'm getting increasingly disillusioned with San Diego. Traffic is a nightmare. Public transportation is a nightmare. Potholes in the streets (Ouch, there goes my car's CD player). Hobo encampments all over the place. Taxes, taxes, taxes. Well, after all, it's in California so you know you'll have to pay taxes. There are still some very nice places if you can afford it. But, increasingly, massive apartment buildings are popping up like mushrooms. Newsom has usurped zoning authority and he is determined to make it look like Newark.

According to O'Leary, states like New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California have become increasingly hostile to businesses, driving investment and jobs to more business-friendly locations, which, not coincidentally, happen to be red states.
“I don’t put companies here in New York anymore or in Massachusetts or in New Jersey or in California,” O'Leary stated. “Those states are uninvestable. The policy here is insane. The taxes are too high.” He highlighted Fargo, N.D., as a prime example of where his businesses are now relocating, noting that 40% of the workforce there operates remotely, including employees in Boston.
"New Jersey, what a mess. New York, uninvestable," he said.
The panel then asked O'Leary why New York was "uninvestable" and if it was just because of high taxes. The hosts were clearly not happy with O'Leary's characterization.
“The regulatory environment is punitive,” he explained, explaining how a global data center project near Niagara Falls eventually moved to Norway due to the state's oppressive policies. “Thousands of jobs coming out of that... that’s New York. Uninvestable.”

Always interesting to hear what the super privileged think about real people with statements like this.
I don't mean her. Her job is to sell the script she is given. How would she know that the better approach to the script may have been a Jamaican Callaloo, but she's never ate poor people food so how could she? Its as believable as her saying she mowed yards for a summer to buy an Atari.
This is about the PR team from topics to writing, and their Low Expectations rearing and education. They have neither the education, talent, or ability to thread a story about Callaloo into a Humanizing Thread and I'm not going to do it for these people who weren't talented enough to work on Acolyte. Just cribbing Hillary!'s hot sauce and not even improving on it.
[NYPOST] Vice President Kamala Harris announced she would keep US Steel under domestic ownership at her campaign stop in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Monday — marking yet another policy she has swiped from her opponent's playbook.
''US Steel is an historic American company, and it is vital for our nation to maintain strong American steel companies,'' Harris said. ''— US Steel should remain American-owned and American-operated.''
Harris' policy is in line with President Biden's view announced in March that US Steel should not sell the company to Japan's Nippon Steel. Her remarks Monday parroted Biden's from his announcement six months ago nearly word-for-word.
''US Steel has been an iconic American steel company for more than a century, and it is vital for it to remain an American steel company that is domestically owned and operated,'' Biden said in March.

How much dope could you smuggle in from China if a 50 lb box of hot dipped galvanized nails were all under weight by 1 gram and there are say 2500 to 5000 nails in a 50 lb box? How well do dogs and detection equipment work on things like that or gold or cash?

In 2013 I had to replace a section of galvanized pipe in my well. It had been there since the well was drilled, about 40 years. 3 years later that section failed and I lost the submersible pump. The pipe came from China. I replaced it with PVC and a new pump. I was lucky as the pipe and pump didn't block the well.

It has long been clear to me that the Chinese practice a superb "long game" business strategy against US industry. It is based on a simple understanding of our corporate inability to envision "strategy" versus immediate competition since we define success in near-term market share and ROI profit.
The Chinese define a product or product group, copy/steal design, produce product that is comparable in performance and quality, but cheaper, by lesser labor cost and even secret subsidy of sub-components and raw materials, despite factoring in transport cost. Over time, achieve total market dominance over a sustained period of years. Domestic and allied competitors cease the product line over time due to lost market share, until China and its subsidiary companies, achieve market monopoly. Then, the slowly decrease product quality and performance, while increasing profit and raising product pricing, recouping front-end loss from years earlier and enjoying monopolistic advantage in long term contracting. They then protect market dominance by defeating any new US start-ups with a mix of political/regulatory interference domestically, denial of sub-components they control and intimidation of near-peer businesses in the West that might consider a renewed product line inside the US/Western allies.
Sounds crazy? - Take a look at all the major end-items and product lines that ONLY exist in China now. Was it that way 15-20 years ago? Consider the strategic, industrial vulnerabilities this has created in America and West. De-industrialization has helped destroyed the middle class American Dream and massively weakened the "Arsenal of Democracy" of our grandparents day, and done so willingly by witting and unwitting dupes in Washington and industry in search of seemingly profitable choices, many of which and forms of long-term industrial and economic suicide!

[Regnum] Four people were killed in a shooting on a train in the city of Forest Park in the US state of Illinois. This was reported on September 2 by the ABC News channel, citing a police statement.
"Three died at the scene, and the fourth was transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he died," the statement said.
It is noted that the suspect fled the scene of the crime, but the police tracked him down through surveillance cameras and detained him.
As previously reported by the Regnum news agency, on the night of July 21, three people died and seven more were injured as a result of a mass shooting in Philadelphia in the United States. The incident occurred during a party attended by 100 to 150 people.
One of the victims, a 33-year-old man, died at the scene. Police believe he was the target of the attack, as he was shot at very close range. Another person was seriously injured and died in hospital. A third died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police believe there were multiple shooters. About 30 shell casings and firearms were found at the scene.
FOREST PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A suspect is in custody after four people were shot and killed while sleeping on a CTA Blue Line train in Forest Park on Monday morning, officials said.
CTA workers discovered the horrific scene around 5:30 a.m. just as the inbound train arrived at the station at 711 Desplaines Avenue. Forest Park police said they received a 911 call that three people were shot on a train.

[Rooters] An explosion in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Monday killed six people, the country's interior ministry and police said.
"Details will be shared later," spokesman Abdul Mateen Qaniee told Reuters over the phone, adding that the blast took place in the southwestern area of Darul Aman.
Kabul police spokesman, Khalid Zadran said six people were killed in the blast, including a woman, and 13 were injured.

Deadly Suicide Explosion in Kabul Leaves 6 Dead, 13 Injured
Kabul security command reported that in today's explosion (Monday, September 2) in the Qala-e-Bakhtiar area of the sixth security district of Kabul city, six people were killed and thirteen others were maimed.
Khalid Zadran, the spokesperson for the Kabul security command, said in a statement that the attacker had concealed explosives on their body and detonated them in the Qala-e-Bakhtiar area.
Zadran also mentioned that the injured from this incident were promptly transferred to hospitals, and investigations regarding the matter are ongoing.
So far, no group has grabbed credit for the attack.
The Kabul Police Command reports that today’s explosion in Kabul resulted in the deaths of six civilians, including one woman, and injured 13 others.
Mohammad Khalid Zadran stated in a press release that this afternoon, Monday, September 2, an individual detonated explosives in the Bakhteyar Khail area of the sixth district. As a result, six civilians were killed, and 13 others were wounded.
Meanwhile, witnesses have reported that the explosion in Kabul targeted employees of the Taliban’s Department of Command and Control.
Photos from the scene show at least eight bodies on the ground and the injured have been transferred to a hospital, and investigations into the attack have commenced.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
The increasing frequency of such attacks is contributing to a growing sense of insecurity in Afghanistan. The resurgence of Daesh (ISIS) in the region has intensified the threat of violence, exacerbating the already volatile situation.
The activities of Daesh have escalated, leading to more frequent and severe attacks that undermine stability.
This rise in violence not only affects Kabul but also has broader implications for regional security, prompting concerns about a potential spillover of extremism into neighboring areas.
Wow. Four hours. Lucky guy.
[Regnum] Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he usually sleeps six hours, and sometimes even less, and advised against following his example in this matter. The Russian leader said this on September 2 during an open lesson "Conversation about the Important" for students of School No. 20 named after Heroes of the Fatherland in Kyzyl.
During the conversation, one of the students asked the president how much he sleeps to stay in such good shape.
"It's awkward to lie, I'll tell it like it is. But it's not a good example. Don't take my example in this regard. Today I slept, let's say, four hours. That's not enough. But usually I sleep about six hours," Putin responded to this.
He urged the student to sleep at least eight hours, as he has many different active activities, including sports, for which he needs to be in shape.
"And I need to be in shape. The fact that I slept only four hours today, and I sleep six hours in total, is not because I am such a busy person. But because I cannot properly organize my working day. Every person should be critical of everything they do, of themselves. And draw conclusions. I will try to do this. And I advise you to do the same," the head of state added.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, earlier on September 2, Putin held an open lesson, "A Conversation About the Important," at the Heroes of the Fatherland Secondary School No. 20 in Kyzyl. During it, the Russian leader called the development of the IT sphere one of the important areas of the state's work, on the success of which the future of Russia depends. According to him, the country is currently working quite well in this industry.
The head of state also noted that e-cigarettes seem "fashionable and cool" to young people, but this popularity cannot but cause concern. Putin warned schoolchildren about the harm of vapes, such as problems with memory, immunity, reproductive functions, adding that they also lead to deterioration of physical condition.
[IsraelTimes] After PM rejects even 42-day IDF withdrawal from Gaza-Egypt border as part of hostage-ceasefire agreement, Lapid charges he wants war forever, will never make a deal
Netanyahu declared that Israel’s war goals are "to destroy Hamas, to bring back all of our hostages, to ensure that Gaza will no longer present a threat to Israel, and to safely return the residents of the northern border," and asserted that "three of those war goals go through one place: the Philadelphi Corridor. That is Hamas’s pipeline for oxygen and rearmament."
Defending himself against charges of blocking a hostage deal on Monday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu argued forcefully for what he said was the "strategic imperative" to keep Israeli troops stationed along the so-called Philadelphia Corridor along Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. ’s border with Egypt.
Speaking with news hounds during a rare presser in Jerusalem, Netanyahu insisted that the 14-kilometer (8.7 miles) strip of land is essential for Israel to achieve its war aims.
Were the IDF to withdraw even for the 42-day first phase of a deal, in an effort to secure the release of numerous living hostages, it would never be able to return, he claimed, and thus Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... would be able to rearm, revive, and carry out many more October 7 massacres.
He rejected the assertion that the six hostages murdered by Hamas in Gaza last week were killed because his terms had prevented a deal. "We didn’t manage to extricate them. We were very close. It’s terrible," he said. "But it didn’t happen because of that decision [on the Philadelphi Corridor.] It happened, first, because they (Hamas) don’t want a deal," he said. "I look for every means... to get them home," he said of the hostages.
The Hostages’ Families Forum vowed to step up the "struggle to return the hostages" and accused the prime minister of "criminal negligence."
HAMAS’S ’OXYGEN’ SUPPLY
Early in his prepared remarks, Netanyahu declared that Israel’s war goals are "to destroy Hamas, to bring back all of our hostages, to ensure that Gaza will no longer present a threat to Israel, and to safely return the residents of the northern border," and asserted that "three of those war goals go through one place: the Philadelphi Corridor. That is Hamas’s pipeline for oxygen and rearmament."
Projecting a map of Israel and Gaza on the wall behind him, Netanyahu noted that following the 2005 Disengagement, Israel controlled all of Gaza’s borders except the one with Egypt, and it was through that border uthat weapons reached the Strip.
"The axis of evil needs the Philadelphi Axis," he declared, referring to Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and its proxies, making the argument that this was the precise reason Israel "must control it" and "make permanent the fact that we are there."
The "significance and importance" of Israeli control of Philadelphi, he said, was "to ensure that we don’t have another October 7 and another October 7 and another October 7, as Hamas has promised to carry out."
Criticizing Egypt for failing to secure the border, Netanyahu insisted he had called on then-prime minister Ariel Sharon to retain control of the corridor two decades ago ahead of the 2005 disengagement from Gaza.
He added that he had later fought against Hamas’ military build-up over the course of several governments but was stymied by a lack of international and domestic legitimacy to retake Gaza.
Netanyahu has come under immense criticism domestically for allegedly blocking a deal with his insistence since July on continued Israeli control of the Philadelphi Corridor and central Gaza’s Netzarim Corridor, which divides the north of the Strip from its south.
In July, Netanyahu added several "nonnegotiable" demands to Israel’s May 27 hostage deal proposal, including for Israeli control over both corridors.
The Netzarim and Philadelphi corridors were not specified as locations where Israeli troops would be allowed to remain, according to the text of the Israeli proposal from May, which has been published in full by The Times of Israel.
That was then. Subsequently the situation has evolved. Among other things, Hamas has killed more Israeli soldiers and more hostages, the last six by bullets in the back of the head a few days ago.
According to Channel 12, Netanyahu last week indicated to Defense Minister Yoav Gallant during a security cabinet meeting that he was prioritizing keeping Israeli troops in the Philadelphi Corridor over saving the lives of the remaining hostages in Gaza.
Are those Bibi’s actual words, or just the defence minister’s prejudiced interpretation of his intention?
On Monday night, the prime minister dismissed the argument that the IDF would be able to return to Philadelphi after the first phase of the proposed ceasefire deal, comparing it to past promises that Israel could and would return to Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... and Gaza if there were any attacks from those newly evacuated territories.
"If we do leave [the Philadelphi Corridor], we may not return for 42 years, because we did leave and we didn’t return for 20 years," he said, calling an Israeli presence on the border "a diplomatic, strategic imperative."
"It’s a question of massive diplomatic pressure that will be applied to us by the entire world: If we leave, we will not return," he said. "This corridor is different from all the other places — it is central, it determines all of our future."
Despite massive pressure to withdraw from the corridor and end the war, such a withdrawal would "not bring back the hostages" but would have the "opposite" effect, he argued, also claiming that leaving the Philadelphi Corridor could enable Hamas to spirit the hostages to Iran or Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... , overground, during that 42-day first phase.
AN APOLOGY AND A CALL FOR UNITY
While he fiercely defended his positions, dismissing both domestic and international criticism that he was responsible for blocking a hostage deal, Netanyahu did apologize to the families of the six Israeli captives recently found dead in a Hamas tunnel.
"I told the families, and I am repeating it here tonight — I ask for your forgiveness that we did not succeed in bringing them back alive. We were close, but we didn’t succeed," he said — naming the victims and vowing that Hamas would "pay a very heavy price" for their deaths.
As protesters gathered outside his homes in Jerusalem and Caesarea, capping off a day of demonstrations and a national strike organized by the Histadrut Labor Federation, Netanyahu insisted that in order to prevail in the existential war against Iran and its axis, "we must stand united as one person against a cruel enemy that wants to destroy all of us, all of us without any exceptions."
"We agreed to the formula that President Biden presented on May 31," he continued. "We agreed to what they called the ’final bridging proposal’ on August 16. Hamas rejected the first. Hamas is rejecting the second."
THE DAY AFTER
Answering questions from news hounds, Netanyahu insisted that Israel must maintain security control of the border crossings on the "day after" Hamas and for the foreseeable future.
"When the day comes" and another body or organization can deal with this "under a permanent arrangement," he said, that would be fine with him. But "right now," Israel needs to be there to prevent more massacres, abductions and existential threats. Even though "we are very close to dismantling Hamas," he claimed, Israel still had to tackle and find an alternative to the terror group’s civilian control.
Turning to the terms of the ceasefire deal, Netanyahu said nobody is more committed to freeing the hostages than he is.
"Nobody should preach to me about this," he said. "The formula I agreed to talks about a first stage of 42 days — after which we can go back to fighting, of course, if a solution is not found in negotiations. It’s our decision, I insisted on it. And if a decision is made for the long-term, and a permanent arrangement is found in the Strip where someone else can take care of the security mission and protect the borders, go ahead. I currently don’t see it on the horizon."
Asked why, if the Philadelphi Corridor is so important, he agreed to a withdrawal from Gaza in May, when the IDF had still not even taken full control of the border, he replied indirectly that he is willing to reduce forces on the Egypt-Gaza border because there is no need for troops "every meter."
"We need to be at several locations, connected, at a certain distance from one another, with the ability to patrol along the entire road," he said, arguing that Israel cannot rely on sensors or others to guard the border.
POLITICAL INFIGHTING
Netanyahu also lamented what he described as "voices in the cabinet, ministers in the government" who urged leaving the Philadelphi Corridor "even though we had already decided not to leave" — a thinly veiled allusion to Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Such dissent was the reason why a cabinet vote backing his position on the matter was necessary, Netanyahu claimed, insisting that he is "flexible in the places where I can be flexible" but that on the issue of the Gaza-Egypt border, "we all must insist."
Asked about the disunity between him and Gallant, Netanyahu said that the relationship can continue "so long as there is trust," but stressed that all ministers must be bound by cabinet decisions. "That is what is being tested now."
Answering a question about leaks from security officials attacking cabinet decisions, Netanyahu said that "the one who makes decisions is the government, and the army and other security agencies are required to follow those decisions. I don’t see another option."
AN END TO THE WAR
Asked what would define the end of the war, he replied that this would be "when Hamas no longer rules Gaza."
Just as was the case when the Allies defeated Nazi Germany, this would require a military and a political victory, he said, and "we’re well on the way to achieving both."
Told about Biden indicating earlier Monday that Netanyahu is not doing enough to secure a deal, the prime minister replied: "I don’t believe that President Biden really said that."
Ouch.
Speaking for a few minutes in English, Netanyahu denounced calls for Israel to make concessions after Hamas "murderers executed six of our hostages."
"They shot them in the back of the head...and now, after this, we’re asked to show seriousness? We’re asked to make concessions? What message does this send Hamas? It says kill more hostages, murder more hostages, you’ll get more concessions," Netanyahu stated.
"The pressure internationally must be directed at these killers, at Hamas, not at Israel. We say yes, they say no all the time. But they also murdered these people. And now we need maximal pressure on Hamas.
"I don’t believe that either President Biden or anyone serious about achieving peace and achieving their release would seriously ask Israel, Israel, to make these concessions," he argued. "We’ve already made them. Hamas has to make the concessions."
To be fair, they were divorced in 2007. But Ms Bash works for CNN, so the odds that she was unbiased are somewhere close to zero without any further help.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Dallas TV reporter broadcasting live from the scene of where an officer had been been killed the night before had to duck for cover as a second shooting played out during her live shot.
KXAS reporter Allie Spillyards was wrapping up a story about a Dallas police officer who had been shot and killed for the local NBC station during its 10 p.m. Friday newscast.
That's when what founded like a spray of gunfire erupted on air.
Spillyards was in a spilt screen with the anchor back at the studio when she looked over her shoulder and her jaw dropped the the ground.
Clearly in fear, she began to duck.
The shooting was edited out of the video the station posted to its website.
However, the Texas viewers who saw the live broadcast were concerned for the TV crew.
'Is she and the crew okay?' asked juanmtz214 on a Dallas Instagram account.
Colleagues confirmed that she was safe, but no other details have been released.
Ironically, Spillyards was reporting on Dallas Police Officer Darron Burks, who was ambushed at the same spot the night before.
Burks had been sitting in his patrol car when he was approached by a man, identified as Corey Cobb-Bey, 30.
Cobb-Bey talked to the cop, before leaving and then returning to shot Burks.
Two other officers who later arrived to check on Burks were also shot, although they did survive.
Cobb-Bey was later killed in a shootout with Dallas police.
[IsraelTimes] The former UK Labour leader and independent MP for Islington North, Jeremy Corbyn is set to form a parliamentary alliance with four independent politicians who were elected on pro-Paleostinian platforms. He has called for more MPs to join the group.
The Independent Alliance, including Corbyn along with MPs Shockat Adam, Ayoub Khan, Adnan Hussain, and Iqbal Mohammed, is promising to push for an arms embargo on Israel, according to a statement.
Far-left politician Corbyn was suspended from the Labour Party in 2020 due to remarks he made following an investigation into antisemitism in the party under his leadership.
His successor Starmer has spent the second half of his parliamentary career clearing Labour of the far left’s legacy of extremism and racism, and planting his party’s flag firmly in the electoral center.

Putin has said the weapon - dubbed the SSC-X-9 Skyfall by NATO - has an almost unlimited range and can evade U.S. missile defenses. But some Western experts dispute his claims and the Burevestnik's strategic value, saying it will not add capabilities that Moscow does not already have and risks a radiation-spewing mishap.
Using images taken on July 26 by Planet Labs, a commercial satellite firm, the two researchers identified a construction project abutting a nuclear warhead storage facility known by two names - Vologda-20 and Chebsara - as the new missile's potential deployment site. The facility is 295 miles (475 km) north of Moscow.
Reuters is the first to report this development.
Decker Eveleth, an analyst with the CNA research and analysis organization, found the satellite imagery and identified what he assessed are nine horizontal launch pads under construction. They are located in three groups inside high berms to shield them from attack or to prevent an accidental blast in one from detonating missiles in the others, he said.
The berms are linked by roads to what Eveleth concluded are likely buildings where the missiles and their components would be serviced, and to the existing complex of five nuclear warhead storage bunkers.
The site is "for a large, fixed missile system and the only large, fixed missile system that they're (Russia) currently developing is the Skyfall," said Eveleth.
Russia's defense ministry and Washington embassy did not respond to a request to comment on his assessment, Burevestnik's strategic value, its test record and the risks it poses.

^USA was developing such a missile back in the 50s and 60s. It was a ramjet where the nuclear fission heated the gas on its way out the rear of the missile generating lots and lots of thrust.
Interestingly there was a cartoon character then called Roger Ramjet. His superpower came when he ate a 'proton pill'.

Yeah, Bibi should definitely give in to their hostage threats. NOT. FJB. Sinwar Humanitarianism™
[IsraelTimes] The Hamas ..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,... terror group hints that it murdered the six hostages whose bodies were recovered by the IDF from a tunnel in southern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... ’s Rafah over the weekend.
In a statement, the front man for the military wing of Hamas says that following Israel’s successful hostage rescue in Nuseirat in June, new protocols were given to Death Eaters guarding the abductees if Israeli troops were approaching them.
"We say to everyone clearly that after the Nuseirat incident, new instructions were issued to the mujahideen assigned to guard the prisoners regarding dealing with them if the occupation army approached their place of detention," Hudhaifa Kahlout — known by the nom de guerre Abu Obeida — says.
Is that a hint, or is he just really happy to say it?
Hamas is believed by Israel to have given standing orders to operatives who are holding hostages, to kill the captives if they think Israeli forces are nearing.
The six hostages recovered over the weekend — Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Ori Danino, Alex Lobanov, Carmel Gat, and Almog Sarusi — were killed just days before troops found them, according to autopsies and the IDF.
"Netanyahu’s insistence on liberating the prisoners through military pressure instead of concluding a deal will mean that they will return to their families inside coffins and their families will have to choose whether they are dead or alive," Abu Obeida adds.
At the beginning of the war, Abu Obeida threatened to execute Israeli hostages and release footage of the killings.
Alongside the announcement, Hamas releases a propaganda illustration depicting an Israeli hostage being held captive and a terrorist holding a handgun behind them.
The image is accompanied by a caption in Hebrew and Arabic, reading: “Military pressure = death and failure. Exchange deal = Freedom and life.”
[IsraelTimes] Documents found by the IDF in Gazoo

The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... have revealed the painstaking training of Hamas ..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,... faceless myrmidons for combat in the terrorist organization’s tunnel network, as well as more details about its fortification, The New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... reports, citing the documents, which included a handbook written in 2019.
The manual instructed faceless myrmidons on how to hide and locate tunnel entrances, as well as navigate them quickly.
"While moving in the dark inside the tunnel, the fighter needs night-vision goggles equipped with infrared," the report quotes the document, written in Arabic, as stating.
The instructions added that in order to deliver maximum damage in battle with Israeli soldiers, weapons should be fired on automatic, while held at shoulder height.
"This type of shooting is effective because the tunnel is narrow, so the shots are aimed at the kill zones in the upper part of the human body," the manual said.
Another document found by the IDF showed that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar approved blast doors to be installed in the tunnel network to protect it from Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s and ground assaults, the report said.
The majority of the $225,000 for the project was dedicated to fortifying tunnels in northern Gaza and Khan Younis, both of which have been hotspots of fighting between the IDF and Hamas, the report says.
Another document seen by the publication was a letter written by Sinwar to the organization’s since-eliminated military commander, Muhammad Deif, detailing the expense and intricacies of creating the tunnels.
A military spokesperson tells the paper that IDF soldiers found details in the tunnels that were consistent with the instructions and information found in the documents.
[IsraelTimes] Police say tinted windows on suspicious vehicle near Ateret made explosives hard to see, days after two car bombs exploded in southern West Bank
An abandoned car laden with explosives was neutralized by security forces at the entrance to a West Bank settlement on Monday, authorities said.
The attempted attack occurred with Israeli security officials in the West Bank and elsewhere on high alert following a twin car-kaboom Friday night, with the Hamas ..always the voice of sweet reason... terror group urging more such blasts.
Troops taking part in a routine patrol in the area were scrambled to the entrance of the Ateret settlement in the central West Bank Monday morning after the army received a report of a suspicious-looking vehicle near the community, the IDF spokesperson said.
Military forces initially had trouble determining what was inside the vehicle due to its tinted windows, according to a statement from the Israel Police. A Border Police bomb disposal unit called to the scene identified it as a boom-mobile before "neutralizing the vehicle," police said.
According to the Binyamin Regional Council, where Ateret is located, the car contained two gas canisters that were connected to a detonation mechanism, which was neutralized by the bomb disposal unit.
Israel Ganz, the chairman of the Yesha settlement council, called the thwarted attack "a huge miracle." He called on security forces to carry out a large-scale operation in the region, which covers a wide swath of the West Bank around Ramallah, and to "raze the terror infrastructure to the ground."
Army Radio reported later on Monday afternoon that the bombs were taken to a nearby hill and went kaboom!. Ateret’s residents, who had been told not to go out, were subsequently told it was safe to leave the settlement.
On Sunday, three Israeli coppers were rubbed out by a Paleostinian gunman near the Paleostinian city of Tarqumiyah.
Two days before that, two boom-mobiles went kaboom! near settlements in the southern West Bank, moderately wounding an IDF soldier and lightly wounding two others. Hamas took responsibility for the dual boom-mobileing attack Monday and said that the two terrorists, who were killed by troops at the scene, were members of the group. Both were from Hebron.
In a speech in Istanbul last week, former Hamas head Khaled Mashaal called for the resumption of suicide kabooms, according to reports in Arabic media.
[IsraelTimes] Attack in Gush Etzion on Friday came amid major counter-terror operation in territory, following attempted suicide bombing in Tel Aviv that Hamas also claimed
The Hamas terror group claimed responsibility on Monday for twin car bombing in the southern West Bank days earlier, on the heels of a call from a top official in the terror group to resume suicide bombings.
In a statement, Hamas’s military wing took “full responsibility” for the attack, which consisted of a pair of coordinated bombings.
The two terrorists responsible — identified as Hebron residents Muhammad Marqa and Zahdi Afifa, both killed by troops at the scene — were members of the group, Hamas said.
In the first incident, a car exploded at a gas station near the junction, after which troops shot the terrorist inside the vehicle.
In the second incident, which occurred about 20 minutes later, a terrorist breached the nearby Karmei Tzur settlement before being shot dead, after which the car he had been in exploded inside the community.
At the gas station, a soldier was moderately wounded and a reservist officer who is the head of a local security team was lightly hurt, likely as a result of friendly fire. The two were taken to a hospital.
[IsraelTimes] Union boss says he’ll respect ruling, but doesn’t regret move; MKs urge class action suit; some activists protest against strike demanding truce-hostage deal, saying it aids Hamas
A court ordered strikers back to work Monday afternoon, cutting short a labor action aimed at pressuring the government to seal a ceasefire and hostage deal in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... as thousands protested for an agreement nationwide.
Interesting: thousands, not hundreds of thousands. Grom said yesterday that the news stories were off by at least an order of magnitude…
Tel Aviv’s labor court ruled that the Histadrut labor federation had until 2:30 p.m. to wrap up a general strike that had shut down government offices and limited access to clinics, banks, public transportation and other services.
The verdict marked a major win for the government, which had sought to shut down the move by the country’s largest union, called a day earlier as Israelis seethed over the discovery of the bodies of six hostages killed by their captors in Gaza — whom many believed could have been saved by a deal that would put a halt to the war in Gaza after nearly a year.
No doubt a deal would have, had Hamas any interest whatsoever in bargaining in good faith. But they are still determined to make Israel surrender without giving anything up, so there it is. To believe that forcing Bibi to make a deal would result in getting the hostages back alive is somewhere between imbecilic and fighting for the enemy.
The state and the Tikva Forum, a group of hostage families that has largely backed the government’s prioritization of military action over concessions as means to win the release of hostages, had petitioned the court for an injunction against the Histadrut move, arguing that the strike was politically motivated and unrelated to workers’ rights, and thus illegal.
The court accepted their arguments, rejecting the Histadrut’s stance that the government’s failure to secure a deal was damaging the economy.
Histadrut head Arnon Bar-David said he would respect the ruling, but stressed that "the solidarity strike was an important move and I stand behind it."
He maintained that the strike had not been championed by only a single political camp, claiming the wide appeal of mass demonstrations Monday had cut across political lines.
"Hundreds of thousands of citizens voted with their feet," he said. "We proved that with regard to the fate of the hostages there is no right or left, only life or death."
Still claiming numbers not otherwise supported by the evidence…
The labor federation, ordered to respond by noon to petitions by the state and the Tikva Forum, agreed to end the strike at 6 p.m., but the court forced it to finish earlier.
Right-wing politicians in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government had argued that the union was playing into Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... ’s hands by pressuring the country to agree to a deal, incentivizing the group to kill more hostages.
"We won’t allow the Israeli economy to be harmed, serving the interests of [Hamas chief Yahya] Sinwar," said Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who had ordered the state to petition the court for an injunction.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir also welcomed the ruling "to stop the Histadrut’s political strike," as did MK Gideon Sa’ar, head of the hawkish New Hope opposition party, who said the strike "harms the Histadrut itself."
Bar-David, whose union represents public sector workers including teachers and sanitation workers, had declared the strike after meeting with hostage families Sunday afternoon. University presidents and the Israel Business Forum, which represents some 200 of the country’s largest companies, joined the strike, as did several large municipalities, including Tel Aviv. The latter strikes are unaffected by the court’s ruling.
The strike came as thousands erupted into the streets to protest the government’s inability to clinch a hostage release deal, with demonstrators blocking intersections around the country throughout Monday morning, including some of the country’s busiest thoroughfares in the center of Tel Aviv.
Following Bar-David’s announcement, Smotrich accused him of "representing the interests of Hamas" when he should be supporting the country’s economy in wartime. The state prosecutor, ordered by Smotrich, said in a brief to the court that a strike "to influence the sovereign’s decision, in issues not directly related to work conditions, is forbidden."
Coalition politicians urged suing Bar-David and the Histadrut for damages caused by the strike, and right-wing activists protested against it in Jerusalem and outside Bar David’s home in Kiryat Ono, in central Israel.
Members of the right-wing Gvura Forum (Heroism Forum) of bereaved families temporarily blocked the entrance to the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem on Monday in a counter-protest against the Histadrut strike. Protesters accused the Histadrut of giving "a prize to Hamas" and "encouraging terror" by shutting down the economy.
Ben Gvir, the head of Otzma Yehudit, told the demonstrators the party is "using our power in the government to prevent a reckless deal."
"With Hamas you need to speak only between gunsights," he added.
Earlier, several activists from the krazed killer Noam faction protested Monday morning outside Bar-David’s home in Kiryat Ono, accusing him of helping Hamas.
The Histadrut is Israel’s largest and oldest labor federation, representing some 725,000 people — the majority of organized workers in the country.
At a mass protest in Tel Aviv Sunday night to call for a hostage deal, Bar-David said he had concluded "now is the time" to use his power to shut down the economy, due to the government’s "abandonment" of the country’s security, economy and hostages.

Histadrut used to be the largest employer in Israel + a roof organization of trade unions protecting the rights of workers. And then evil Bibi came and turned Israel into a market economy.

[IsraelTimes] Source says 1 of those killed worked for cleaning company under UNIFIL contract; IDF also strikes Hezbollah buildings in south Lebanon towns; terror group fires 5 rockets at Israel
Two people were killed on Monday in an Israeli Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... on a vehicle in southern Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , according to the country’s health ministry, after the IDF said it had carried out overnight strikes on a number of Hezbollah buildings.
Hours later, five rockets were fired from Lebanon toward Israel, setting off sirens in a number of communities.
"The Israeli enemy’s strike targeting a car in Naqura left two dead," the Lebanese health ministry said, without specifying whether they were combatants.
A Lebanese security source told AFP that the car belonged to "a cleaning company" that was under contract with UNIFIL, the UN peacekeeping force that patrols along the border.
The two victims were "an employee of this company and his cousin, both from Naqura," a town along Lebanon’s border with Israel, according to the source. "The cousin, who lives in an African country, arrived in Lebanon two days ago."
There was no immediate comment on the strike from the IDF. The military said earlier, however, that it had struck a number of buildings used by Hezbollah in five different areas of southern Lebanon overnight.
The strikes were carried out in Yaroun, Ayta ash-Shab, Hanine, Tayr Harfa, and Blida, according to the military, which published footage of the strikes.
Meanwhile,
...back at the pie fight, Bella opened her mouth at precisely the wrong moment... a number of air raid sirens rang out in Israeli communities near the border on Monday afternoon, including in Ein Ya’akov near near Ma’alot-Tarshiha, as well as Shomera, closer to the border.
A rocket impact was identified near Ein Ya’akov, though no injuries were reported and there was no immediate word of damage. Hebrew media reports said five rockets were fired at Israel in the volley.
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it carried out a dronezap against a group of Paleostinian button men who shot up troops, during an operation in the West Bank city of Tulkarem a short while ago.
[IsraelTimes] Palestinian media report an Israeli drone strike on a building in the West Bank’s Tulkarem refugee camp.
The report adds that four people were lightly injured in the alleged strike, which it says took place in Tulkarem’s Al-Hamam neighborhood. One of the injured is said to be a paramedic with the Palestinian Red Crescent.
A number of Palestinians were detained in clashes with the IDF elsewhere in Tulkarem, the report adds.
Earlier on Monday night, the IDF said it carried out a drone strike against a group of Palestinian gunmen who opened fire at troops in the city of Tulkarem.
[Rudaw] Fifteen members of a Ottoman Turkish ultranationalist group were arrested on Monday and charged with attacking two US military personnel while at port in the western coastal city of Izmir.
"Fifteen suspects involved in the incident have been detained and taken into custody upon the orders of the on-duty public prosecutor," read a statement from Izmir governorate.
Around 4 pm on Monday, the statement added, a group from the ultranationalist Ottoman TurkishYouth Union (TGB)
…in Turkish Turkiye Genclik Birligi, translated as Turkish Youth Union or Youth Union of Turkey, they’re a fraternity of revolutionary socialist clubs at about 49 Turkish universities — the youth wing of the Kemalist socialist Patriot Party, which is too small to actually win elections. They’re for Ataturk and against America, Israel, NATO, the EU, and Recep Tayip Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party. Also McDonald’s. Their thing is mobbing a few American soldiers/sailors on leave, putting bags on their heads, and announcing the action in support of the Palestinians and in memory of American troops doing the same to Turkish soldiers in Iraq during Gulf War II in 2003….
attacked US service members in civilian clothes in Izmir.
"A judicial investigation has been initiated regarding the matter," the statement said.
Five other US military personnel were nearby, but not did not get involved in the incident, according to the statement.
The US Embassy in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... confirmed the attack on the US service members in a post on X.
The embassy added that the US personnel "were safe" and thanked "Ottoman Turkish authorities for their rapid response and ongoing investigation."
The two service members were aboard the USS Wasp, a multipurpose assault ship anchored in Izmir since Sunday. The crowded area where the attack took place is popular among tourists and locals.
TGB grabbed credit for the attack in a post on X and warned US military members from stepping foot on Ottoman Turkish soil.
"American soldiers, who carry the blood of our soldiers and thousands of Paleostinians on their hands, cannot defile our country," the group said in a post on X that showed footage of the attack.
In the video, a group of people can be seen holding one of the US military members and forcing a plastic bag over their head, as the US soldier can be heard pleading for help. Some of the attackers also chanted: "Yankee, go home!"
Boys will be boys, but a plastic bag turns it into attempted murder.
The ultranationalist said the bag over the head of the US service member is in retaliation for US forces apprehending a group of Ottoman Turkish soldiers for three days and putting hoods over their heads in Sulaimani province in the Kurdistan Region during the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
The TGB confirmed that 15 of its members were arrested, including their leader Kayahan Cetin, in a later post on X.
The USS Wasp had conducted joint-training drills with Ottoman Turkish military vessels in the Mediterranean Sea in mid-August. The maneuvers drew waves of criticism in Ottoman Turkish media, depicting the deployment as a part of an operation to support Israel.
The Ottoman Turkish defense ministry described the training at the time as a "routine" activity that did not benefit Israel, nor harm Paleostine.

Why are we sending Navy ships to protect a government engaged in genocide? Did we send ships to help Myanmar genocide the Rohingya? Or to China to help them genocide the Uighurs? Or to South Sudan? Or to Yemen to help the Houthi genocide?

Genocide doesn't mean gas chambers, the Chinese didn't do that with the Uighur, neither the Burmans with the Rohingya and the other examples as well. It's the deliberate destruction of an entire people. And the perps don't get to decide, the rest of the human race does. The International Court of Justice in January found that Israel is plausibly committing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. More recently, the ICJ found Israel guilty apartheid and its military occupation and annexation of territory to be illegal. This means that all states, local governments, corporations and institutions must immediately end all forms of complicity in Israeli crimes and violations of international law.

Thor McCoy you just do not know several facts causing your error
1) there is no ethnicity “palestinian” they are just Muslim Arabs same as the ones in Egypt, Jordan and Iraq. Identical ethnicity, culture, language and religion
2) even if Israel forcibly relocated every last muslim from gaza and west bank into jordan and Iraq, and killed every hamas member, it would not be a genocide as a distinct people would not have been destroyed
3) Hamas is just the name for the Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood active all over the world, started in Egypt and backed with a $1 trillion war chest from Qatar with its own Al Jazeera propaganda network
4) the “palestinians“ Are the tiny light dangling from the angler fish. They are bait. For you. That is why Jordan and Egypt won’t take them in, because they are the martyrs to be used in the propaganda war to destroy israel
5) the “palestinian” flag is just the same flag as the pan arab revolt, syrian baath party, transjordania and iraq - because it is an invented ethnicity created in the 1960s by the KGB and Yasser Arafat for PR
6) hamas are genocidal and will not tolerate a jewish state the size of a postage stamp. This is a religious war and they intend to genocide all the jews they say so in their 1988 founding charter. There is no peace deal possible, because of the islamic imperative to take back any land once occupied by muslims belongs to islam forever
7) it is not their land. They are not the aborigines of israel. Jews are not european colonists. The jews have lived there continuously and it was their land first before the romans conquered them, then the muslims conquered the christian romans turning constantinople into istanbul. So the UN created Israel out of british mandate palestine, half of which britain already gave to arab muslims which is now Jordan. The UN created Israel plus another arab muslim state but the greedy muslims wanted it all for themselves and immediately started a war that will never end

They’re little Brown Shirts, Anon1. Revolutionary Communist nationalist Turks, ie. fascists. We pay attention because they attack American military men, but they attack others who they don’t want allowed to walk freely in the streets as well. The only difference between them and the jihadis is that for them the religion is Communism and for the other the religion is Islam. Otherwise they are equally vicious Blood & Soil fanatics.
[Rudaw] Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... i reiterated that the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) no longer poses a threat to the country, in a meeting in Baghdad on Sunday with the commander of the US-led international coalition.
"[T]he remnants of ISIS no longer pose a threat to the Iraqi state, as they have become isolated groups hiding in remote areas to avoid capture," Sudani’s office cited the premier as saying during the meeting with coalition commander US Major General Kevin C. Leahy and US Ambassador to Baghdad Alina Romanowski.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that at least 15 suspected ISIS members were killed in a joint military operation by the US military and Iraqi security forces in western Iraq.
"ISIS remains a threat to the region, our allies, as well as our homeland," CENTCOM said in a statement.
At least seven US troops were maimed, including five maimed, during the operation, the News Agency that Dare Not be Named has reported citing a US defense official on the condition of anonymity.
The coalition’s future role in Iraq, cooperation in training Iraqi security forces, and intelligence collaboration were also highlighted in the meeting between Sudani and the US officials, according to Sudani’s statement.
"The meeting focused on the progress of the technical dialogue between both sides about ending the Coalition's mission in Iraq and transitioning to a framework of bilateral relations between Iraq and Coalition member states," the statement added.
The Iraqi government has expressed anger over US retaliatory strikes on pro-Iran, Iraqi paramilitary groups. The US strikes have been in response to hundreds of rockets and dronezaps since October, targeting US installations and troops in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan.
In January, Sudani presided over the first meeting of the US-Iraq Higher Military Commission (HMC) to discuss the future of the coalition’s mission in Iraq.
While Baghdad has maintained that the commission aims to conclude the presence of the coalition forces in the country, Washington has described the step only as a "transition" in the coalition’s role.
Following a meeting between Iraqi and US defense officials in Washington in late July, the two sides said in a joint statement that they have reached an understanding on how to usher in a new phase of security ties, which includes "cooperation through liaison officers, training, and traditional security cooperation programs."

Mustafa Mahmoud Ahmed, head of the general hospital in al-Baaj, told Rudaw the incident took place around 10:30 am in a village in Baaj, a district in the Iraqi province of Nineveh.
"The house has been abandoned for several years; its owner left the area, and the family recently rented it to work there. This morning, while cleaning the garden, a remnant ISIS bomb went kaboom! in one of the rooms, killing four members of the family, aged between 5 and 15," Ahmed said.
A source from the hospital in Baaj told Rudaw the family consists of 12 people, four of the children are dead and one is severely injured. More family members are believed to be under the house's rubble - their fate is unknown.
Mohammed Kakayi, the head of the security and defense committee of the Nineveh provincial council, confirmed to Rudaw that "the bomb was a remnant of ISIS, which went kaboom!..."
