-War on Police-
Colorado state trooper shot in targeted attack while parked on side of highway; kills suspect
[NYP] A Colorado state trooper was shot and wounded in a senseless, "targeted" attack while parked on the side of a highway Saturday and still managed to kill the suspect in a shootout, authorities said.

Cpl. Tye Simcox encountered "evil" when the gunman randomly began firing on the 16-year state law enforcement vet as he slowly drove by the officer’s patrol car parked in the median of Highway 36 in the Denver suburb of Westminster.

The gunman continued his brazen shooting with a semi-automatic handgun after he pulled his Chevrolet pickup truck over to the left side of the highway and got out of his car, chief of the state patrol, Matthew Packard, said during a press conference.

"Our trooper exited his patrol car and immediately began to return fire ... and was able to strike and ultimately kill the suspect that was attacking him," Packard said, noting Simcox used his rifle during the shootout.

Simcox was struck in the lower right arm and applied a tourniquet to the gunshot wound before he was taken to the hospital. He was released later Saturday.

"Our member was targeted today by a man that intended to kill him and that is shocking and unacceptable," Packard said.

"But our Colorado state trooper responded appropriately and swiftly and courageously and he won today. And by winning, not only did he save his own life, but he saved the rest of this community from someone that clearly intended to do evil."

Either it is the usual usual reason (the perp was black), or it is the new usual reason (the perp was an illegal 'immigrant'). Either way, we can't mention the ID since it would only contribute to the stereotype that these groups are prone to committing crimes.

Scoop: Generals come to Harris' defense on Afghanistan
[Axios] Ten generals and admirals are mobilizing to defend Vice President Kamala Harris from Republican attempts to tie her to the chaotic 2021 U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Why it matters: The withdrawal has emerged as a major campaign issue in the lead-up to Tuesday's presidential debate, with Harris coming under fire from former President Trump, House Republicans and parents of victims of the Abbey Gate suicide attack, which killed 13 American service members.

  • The push to defend Harris comes from retired military brass, including three with four-stars: Admiral Steve Abbot, who served as deputy homeland security advisor to George W. Bush, Gen. Lloyd W. Newton and Gen. Larry R. Ellis, who has never previously endorsed a political candidate.

  • Some of the military officials are also fanning out on TV this week to defend Harris' record, two people familiar with the plans told Axios.

Driving the news: "Without involving the Afghan government, [Trump] and his Administration negotiated a deal with the Taliban that freed 5,000 Taliban fighters," the retired military officials wrote in a National Security Leaders for America letter first obtained by Axios.

  • The group accused Trump of leaving Biden and Harris with no plans to execute a withdrawal and little time to do so.

  • "This chaotic approach severely hindered the Biden-Harris Administration's ability to execute the most orderly withdrawal possible and put our service members and our allies at risk," they wrote.

  • Trump "continually disrespects those who serve in uniform, including wounded warriors, prisoners of war, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice," they added.

The other side: Trump and his Republican allies have sought to elevate the voices of the Gold Star families, laying wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider at Arlington National Cemetery on the third anniversary of the bombing.

  • Trump has also tried to cleanse his record with veterans, telling podcaster Shawn Ryan last month that he never called Americans who died in war "suckers and losers." — "Who would say that? A stupid person would say that."

What we're watching: On Tuesday, GOP congressional leaders including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will present the Congressional Gold Medal to the families of the 13 U.S. service members killed in the 2021 attack.

Flag Officers that are followed by MIC careers often have a tendency to lean in the direction that is good for the company. In recent years it seems to be the Uniparty/Left coalition.

As for the plan, I seem to recall reading something about a scheduled consolidation of Class VII Major End Items onsite at Bagram, air-bridge of equipment out while maintaining a secure base and extended range perimeter with US forces, and then collapsing US presence and stable passage of control with AFGHAN Army takeover? Nothing but open source discussions by those involved post-withdrawl, but it seemed like there was that plan, not the mess that actually happened.!

    -Lurid Crime Tales-
    Why are Kids Killing Kids?
[News with views] In the name of full disclosure, I am a lifelong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, and every other natural human Right protected by our Charters of Freedom...because I’m a supporter of Freedom, Liberty, and real Justice for all. Maybe by the time you finish reading this piece, you will understand.

Of course, every time another school mass shooting takes place, Marxists rush to blame the inanimate object, the weapon used to commit the crime. Never mind the fact that the inanimate object is entirely incapable of harming anyone on its own, or that decades of crime statistics here and around the world prove two very important facts...

  • Criminals don’t follow laws, only law-abiding citizens do
  • Disarming law-abiding citizens always results in an increase in violent crime

No one ever asks the right question regarding these events, because they are far more focused on their anti-American agenda of eliminating the 2nd Amendment Rights of every legal law-abiding citizen to keep (own) and bear (carry) arms in the United States. An unamerican agenda that no one in the United States has the legal authority to adopt, execute, or enforce.

A Right to defense of self and property is fundamental to the survival and success of any free society...not to mention, also a necessity in a nation run by anti-American criminals who continue to import millions more violent criminals from 3rd world toilets.

For those too young to remember the term "postal," this term evolved out of a string of post office shootings that started in the USA in 1970. I’m including the list of these "postal" events so that readers know how long so-called "random acts of violence" have been happening in the USA, and where it all started.

    -Short Attention Span Theater-
Trump Prepares For Debate Against Kamala By Going To Bar And Arguing With Drunks
[Bee] ORLANDO, FL — Sources close to Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump report that the former president is preparing for his upcoming debate with Kamala Harris as realistically as possible: by going to wine bars and arguing with drunk people.

"Yes, it's true, I did come up with this great way to practice for Kamala," Trump explained to several staffers. "I thought to myself, 'Donald, where would Kamala Harris most like to be in the world, do you think?' I kid you not — and I thought, and let me tell you, folks, she'd love to be at a wine bar. I keep expecting her any day, honestly. Very good practice, arguing with drunks. I'm looking forward to the debate, believe me!"

Trump has stated that "it's over-preparing, honestly," as there's no chance that Kamala will have had anything less than seven shots of Jack Daniels before she steps on stage.

"I don't think she can hold it, honestly," Trump said. "Some people can't hold it. Very sad. Bad. Not good! I can hold mine."

At publishing time, Kamala had found out about Trump's debate prep strategy and decided to drink even more wine in an attempt to be even drunker than anyone that Trump might be able to come across.

    Britain
The BBC breached editorial guidelines over 1,500 times in Israel-Hamas conflict, report claims
[FoxNews] The BBC questioned the damning report's methodology

A new report found the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) guilty of violating its own editorial guidelines over a thousand times in its coverage of the Israel-Hamas war.

According to The Telegraph, the report analyzed four months of BBC output on television, radio, online, podcasts and on social media during the height of the conflict and found a "deeply worrying pattern of bias" against Israel.

British lawyer Trevor Asserson and a team of about 20 lawyers and 20 data scientists used artificial intelligence to analyze nine million words from the news outlet, starting the day of the October 7, 2023, terror attack.
Long known, but it’s very useful to have it quantifiied.
The researchers allegedly identified 1,553 instances where the BBC violated its own editorial guidelines on impartiality, accuracy, editorial values and public interest.

The report accuses the BBC of downplaying Hamas terrorism and painting Israel as the aggressor in dozens of instances.

Israel was associated with "war crimes" four times more frequently than Hamas (127 vs. 30); genocide 14 times more often (283 vs. 19), and breaching international law six times more often than Hamas (167 vs. 27).

BBC reporters who had shown hostility toward Israel on social media were also featured in the network's war coverage, the report claimed.

Researchers reportedly found 11 instances on the BBC's Arabic channel, where it featured reporters who had previously made public statements in support of terrorism and Hamas.

"The findings reveal a deeply worrying pattern of bias and multiple breaches by the BBC of its own editorial guidelines on impartiality, fairness and establishing the truth," the report said, according to the Telegraph.

    Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Hezbollah relies on 'sophisticated' tunnel system backed by Iran, North Korea in fight against Israel
[FoxNews] Hezbollah's tunnels are based on operational blueprint from North Korea

Despite Israel’s nearly one-year-long war with Hamas in Gaza after the Oct. 7 attacks, security experts continue to sound the alarm that Jerusalem’s greatest threat actually lies to the north in Lebanon, where Hezbollah has developed a sophisticated tunnel system.

Hezbollah, an Islamic terrorist organization that has long had the backing of Iran, has over the last two decades developed a network of tunnels that stretch more than 100 miles in cumulative length throughout southern Lebanon.

Though the existence of the tunnels has been known for decades, the significant role they play in arming Hezbollah has once again come to light during the Israeli-Hamas war in Gaza, where terrorists have not only relied on tunnels for operational rearmament and maneuvering capabilities but also to house hostages taken by Hamas nearly a year ago.

While it is estimated that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have eradicated roughly 80% of Hamas’ tunnels, Hezbollah’s tunnels, which have largely remained untouched since the war in Gaza began, are believed to be far more sophisticated and "significantly larger," according to a report by the Alma Research and Education Center, a nonprofit organization that researches Israeli security challenges along its northern border.

Hezbollah is believed to have begun mining its tunnels after the Second Lebanon War in 2006 in close coordination between Iran and North Korea after Tehran reportedly derived "inspiration" from Pyongyang and the tunnels that it developed in the aftermath of the Korean War.

Iran deemed North Korea a "professional authority on the subject of tunneling" due to its experience in digging tunnels for military use when it attempted to drill tunnels across the Korean Demilitarized Zone in an attempt to militarily invade areas just north of Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

While the tunnels and their intended use were never realized by the authoritarian nation, two of the four neutralized tunnels uncovered were reportedly capable of accommodating up to 30,000 troops per hour along with armaments like armored personnel carriers, tanks and field artillery – an operational blueprint Hezbollah has turned to in its fight against Israel.

The report found that Hezbollah under the advisership of North Korea – a relationship that may have begun as far back as the 1980s – built two types of tunnels across southern Lebanon, "offensive tunnels and infrastructure tunnels."

The offensive tunnels were intended for similar operational use as North Korea’s, and at least six tunnels were discovered by IDF forces that led into Israeli territory during Operation Northern Shield, which began in December 2018.

Alma's research found that some of Hezbollah’s tunnels are also capable of transporting ATVs, motorcycles and other "small vehicles," though it did not specify the number of terrorists that they could accommodate.

The tunnels are equipped with "underground command and control rooms, weapons and supply depots, field clinics and specified designated shafts used to fire missiles of all types," the report said, noting that arms like rockets, surface-to-surface missiles, anti-tank missiles and anti-aircraft missiles can be fired from "shafts" in the tunnels. "These shafts are hidden and camouflaged and cannot be detected above ground."

The tunnels are believed to connect the capital of Beirut, where Hezbollah’s central headquarters is located and its logistical base in the Beqaa Valley near the Syrian border, to southern Lebanon.

"We call this inter-regional tunnel network ‘Hezbollah's Land of the Tunnels,’" the Alma report first released in 2021 detailed, noting the tunnel system is more akin to a "metro" of tunnels rather than one long tunnel.

The second series of tunnels Hezbollah mined, known as the infrastructure tunnels, form an underground network in and near southern Lebanese villages that establishes the first and second "lines of defense" against an Israeli invasion – a project of "enormous magnitude," according to the Alma report.

One such tunnel is estimated to be nearly 28 miles long, prompting the question as to how the terrorist organization was able to get away with building such a sophisticated system without opposition from the Lebanese government.

"Hezbollah does try to keep the locations, routes, internal structure, etc., of these tunnels a secret. [It] does this by expropriating territories, by preventing civilians from entering into certain areas and by taking advantage of [its] presence and influence in the government," Boaz Shapira, a researcher with Alma, told Fox News Digital.

Shapira said Hezbollah not only has the support of roughly 40%-50% of the Lebanese population, it is "much better funded, organized, trained and armed" than the Lebanese government, army, police or even the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, which has a force of some 10,500 peacekeeping troops in Lebanon and that were put in place after the 2006 war.

But its growing power within Lebanon has moved it to the top of the list when it comes to Israeli security threats, according to not only Shapira but also former IDF Major Gen. Yaakov Amidror.

"Lebanon’s government is too weak to counter Hezbollah," Amidror told Fox News Digital. "Everything important is decided by Hezbollah, not by the government."

Hezbollah is believed to have as many as 50,000 terrorists and, according to Shapira, its sphere of influence has extended to nearly every branch of Lebanon’s security apparatus.

"Taking action against Hezbollah would be perceived as cooperation with Israel and basically as treason in Lebanon, and in the past year also against the Palestinians," he said. "That means that no one in the army has any incentive for challenging Hezbollah."

Shapira said demographics inside the once predominately Christian nation have shifted over the last several decades, and it now has a majority Muslim population – though the U.S. State Department analyzes the breakdown in Muslim populations in Lebanon as nearly equally divided between Shiite and Sunni groups.

"This trend is happening in the army as well. That means that almost every Shiite soldier in the army has a brother, cousin, friend that is a Hezbollah terrorist," Shapira said.

Amidror, a distinguished fellow at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America after serving as Israel's former national security adviser to the prime minister and a 36-year veteran of the IDF, told Fox News Digital he believes Israel needs to take a proactive approach when it comes to countering Hezbollah.

"We should initiate the war against Hezbollah," he said, noting that the timing of its operation is the main variable that needs to be determined.

"It will not be an easy job. It will be a very, very devastating war for us and for Lebanon," the retired major general said. "Remember that at least 50% of their missiles had been hidden within populated areas.

"The casualties will be huge, [a] devastating war for us and for them," Amidror continued. "This is why it is so problematic to fight these organizations, because they are fighting from within their own population, [and their] targets are the Israeli population.

"When you fight from within civilians and your targets are civilians, it's very complicated to fight it," he added.

Former Ra'am leader: Hamas killed no civilians, hostages are ‘prisoners of war'
    [Jpost] Such reasonable people.
Abdulmalik Dehamshe, former leader of the Islamist Ra’am party,
…the political party of the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel…
stirred up a storm after a series of statements he made in an interview with Makan, the Arabic-speaking outlet of the ‏Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, in which he justified Hamas’s bloody incursion into Israel on October 7 and cast doubt on the accounts that took place in that horrific day.

In the interview, Dehamshe claimed that those who were taken into Gaza on October 7 were not "hostages" but rather "prisoners of war," which Hamas took in order to free the other prisoners of war who are in Israeli prison.

He then asked the surprised anchors: "Are the prisoners in Israel not human beings? Do they not have the right to be freed?"

The anchors then attempted to confront him with the fact that the hostages were innocent civilians, but Dehamshe replied, in a matter resembling some of the talking points relied by Hamas officials on various occasions, that those who took civilians were in fact Gazan civilians who went into the Envelope following Hamas militants, rather than Hamas militants themselves.

When the anchors tried to push back and asked whether Dehamshe is in fact legitimizing what took place on October 7, the former MK replied simply: "There is no need for me to grant legitimization - it's a legitimate act, everyone who fights their occupier has international legitimacy according to international law."

When asked whether there is international legitimacy for raping women, murdering children, and burning them alive, Dehamshe answered: "Show me one picture of a Hamas man who murdered a child or murdered a woman! We did not see such murders." Then he quickly added: "Maybe there was, in fact, murder, but if there was - it was done by [Gazan] civilians who came in, not Hamas! All of Gaza came in!"

Dehamshe then pointed to a video showing a horrified woman held by Hamas captors in her home with her children, lauding the Hamas terrorist who had just broken into her house under a barrage of rockets for the fact that he had asked her permission to eat some bananas and told her not to be afraid because "they are Hamas."

When pushed again regarding the hundreds of civilians killed and kidnapped, Dehamshe answered with a mere "Hamas fought and killed and took prisoners from the Israeli police and army. That's what Hamas did."

Finally, Dehamshe added: "Where is the assurance that there was a murder of Israeli citizens? Or the accusations about sexual or non-sexual things?"

    WHO IS DEHAMSHE?
Dehamshe served as a Knesset member between 1996 and 2006 and is still regarded highly in the Islamic Movement.
    — what the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel calls itself. It was founded in the early 1970s by Sheikh Abdullah Nimr Darwish, a preacher from Kafr Qasim. Some time later the militant arm, calling itself the Northern Branch, split off and based itself in Umm al Fahm, leaving the original group to go in for the usual Muslim Brotherhood politics, calling itself the Southern Branch until ready to present itself to the world as the Ra’am party...
As a lawyer, he represented his past Hamas founder, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, and has lauded the terrorist leader multiple times. He also served time in Israeli prison for security-related issues.

Turkish soldier killed in clash in northern Iraq, defense ministry says
[JPost] A Turkish soldier was killed on Monday in a clash with fighters from the banned Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, and Turkish airstrikes killed many insurgents, the Defence Ministry said.

The airstrikes also destroyed 21 PKK targets, the ministry said in a statement without elaborating.

Ankara uses the term "neutralized" to mean killed.

The soldier was killed in a clash in the Gara region, and Turkish air forces targeted PKK bases in Gara, Hakurk, Metina, and Qandil, the ministry said.

The PKK, designated a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union, took up arms against the Turkish state in 1984. More than 40,000 people have been killed in the insurgency.

Former Farrakhan Organizer Keith Ellison Reportedly On Kamala Short List For U.S. Attorney General
[LI] According to political operative Richard Grenell, who served as Acting Director of National Intelligence and the U.S. Ambassador to Germany during the Trump administration, the Harris campaign has informed Arab American leaders in Detroit, Michigan, that if Vice President Kamala Harris wins, the hard-Left Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison "is on her short list to be attorney general." If this claim is true, it is difficult to overstate the threat he would pose to a U.S. that has already been weakened by four years of the Biden-Harris administration.

This is a terrible idea for so many reasons, the most recent being his support for the censorship of opposition voices in Brazil, in particular, the decision by a Brazilian judge to ban X inside the country. In a Sept. 2 message ironically posted on X, Ellison wrote, "obrigado Brasil!" "Obrigado," by the way, means "thanks" in Portuguese.

Clearly, there are a lot of "ifs" to this story. But if Harris were to win the election, and if she were to nominate the radical Ellison for the top job at the Department of Justice, and if he somehow made it through a Senate confirmation, his praise for the crackdown on free speech in Brazil would bode ill for the future of free speech in America.

Recess appointments Wiki cite: "At any point in a year, as a result, by making a recess appointment during an intrasession recess, a President could fill a position not just for the rest of that year, but until near the end of the following year. In practice, this has meant that a recess appointment could last for almost two years." And expecting this DOJ to enforce the law against it's own Attorney General after two years is ludicrous.

Kentucky police recover SUV, AR-15 in manhunt for I-75 shooter
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[FoxNews] Authorities suspended the search for Joseph Couch Saturday evening but resumed on Sunday.

Kentucky police have recovered an SUV and an AR-15 rifle in the manhunt for a suspected gunman who, according to authorities, opened fire near Interstate 75, injuring several people and causing a car accident.

A small silver colored SUV registered to the suspect – 32-year-old Joseph A. Couch – was recovered off a U.S. Forest Service Road off exit 49 off I-75 Saturday evening, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. A rifle case was also recovered in the vehicle.

On Sunday afternoon, sheriff’s deputies recovered a rifle near I-75 and in the vicinity of the SUV recovered the evening prior.

The discoveries came amid a manhunt launched after the shooting unfolded Saturday around 6 p.m. near exit 49 along I-75.

Police initially responded to reports that a suspect was shooting at drivers from an overpass or a wooded area. Authorities later named Couch as a person of interest in the shooting.

United States Announces More Than $64 Million in Additional Humanitarian Assistance in Sub-Saharan Africa
[US Department of State] Today in Dakar, Senegal, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration Julieta Valls Noyes announced more than $64 million in life-saving humanitarian assistance for Sub-Saharan Africa. This is just the latest demonstration of the U.S. commitment to Sub-Saharan Africa, with recent announcements by Under Secretary Uzra Zeya, Ambassador Jeffrey Prescott, and Ambassador Michael J. Adler, bringing the total U.S. humanitarian assistance in Sub-Saharan Africa to more than $3.8 billion so far in Fiscal Year 2024. The United States is proud to be the largest single humanitarian donor to Africa/Sub-Saharan Africa globally.

This assistance will enable U.S. humanitarian partners to meet urgent, lifesaving needs of refugees and other displaced and vulnerable populations across Sub-Saharan Africa. It will also build durable solutions, including voluntary return in safety and dignity, and local integration within host communities.

As the United States urges increased support, we also acknowledge the tremendous efforts the people of Senegal and other countries in the region have already made to welcome refugees, returnees, and internally displaced persons in their communities. The Senegalese government’s example of incorporating refugees into national social and health services has played a key role in enhancing stability in the region. The United States encourages other governments to follow Senegal’s example of refugee inclusion and advancing sustainable solutions.

Liberal polster Nate Silver predicts blowout victory for Trump ahead of ABC debate
[MAIL] A liberal pollster's latest projection shows Donald Trump securing a blowout victory over Kamala Harris.

Nate Silver's prediction places the Republican hopeful's chances of winning the electoral college vote at 63.8 percent, compared to 36 percent for Harris.

Silver's modelling, published on his blog Silver Bulletin, also places Trump ahead in all of the crucial swing states.

He predicts 312 electoral college votes for Trump versus 226 for Harris in a no toss-up map.

The figure is a massive upswing on the 227 Trump secured against Biden in 2020 and even an improvement on his victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016 when he romped to the White House with 304 electoral college votes.

, and released by his abductors on Saturday.

He was kidnapped while travelling from Biu town to Maiduguri with his wife, driver, and police orderly.

The attack, which occurred between Buratai and Gujba village, resulted in the death of his police orderly.

The judge's release was announced on a WhatsApp platform of Borno lawyers.

''Alhamdulillah, we have just received the news of the release of Justice Haruna Mshelia,'' the message read.

The statement said only Mr Mshelia was released. His wife and his driver remain in captivity. A follow-up message urged continued prayers for their safety.

It is not clear what the details of the release are and if any ransom was paid. The police are also yet to speak on the matter.

The Chairman of the NBA Maiduguri branch, Hamza Zannah, confirmed the judge's release to Humangle.

Mr Mshelia, a former private lawyer, was appointed to the Borno State Judiciary in May 2012. He was one of two High Court judges selected from private practitioners in the state. His colleague, Mohammed Fadawu, was recently elevated to the Court of Appeal in July.

    …extreme left and primarily Arab…
approached the Mayor of Kiryat Shmona, Avichai Stern, and asked to come and show his support for the residents, but was met with a refusal.

"Hello Avichai, I am interested in coming to visit you, to strengthen and show support, and see if we can help," MK Cassif wrote to Stern and received a resolute response, “Hi Ofer, first of all, thank you for wanting to show your support for Kiryat Shmona, but unfortunately, before you offer your support, I suggest that you stop weakening us," the Mayor wrote to the Knesset member.

He added, "For years you have been acting against our heroic IDF fighters, claiming that they are committing 'genocide' and going against the State of Israel and against the Zionist-Jewish vision of our wonderful nation, while accusing us of occupation, while every inch of land here is ours and only ours.”

"On the day you change your anti-Zionist and anti-Jewish narrative, stop harming the state of the Jewish people and stop calling our heroic fighters 'murderers,' only then will we be happy to welcome you to Kiryat Shmona," concluded Stern.

Cassif, who did not like the reaction, replied: "I stood and will continue to stand by all the residents of the bombed and burned communities of the north, which have been abandoned by the right-wing government, whether they are my supporters or my opponents. It's time to put an end to the tribalism that is destroying us, where we don’t operate according to principles of universal justice, but according to the closeness or identity of any specific person."

Yobe massacre near Shekau's base: We counted about 87 corpses — Survivors from B/Haram invaders

... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
massacre of worshippers at a mosque in Mafa village, Tarmuwa local government area of Yobe State have narrated their close shave with death, attributing surviving the dastardly attack to divine intervention.

Mafa is close to Shekau, the ancestral home of the late Boko Haram leader/founder, Sheikh Abubakar Shekau
....the lunatic leader of Boko Haram who was reported dead at least eleven times, pledged his body and soul to ISIS, told his fighters to hang it up once or twice, and been fired by the Caliph and refused to step down. Last seen in 2017, sneaking into Cameroon while wearing a burka. Eventually the got him, or so they say....
Recall that Boko Haram snuffies raided Mafa last Sunday around 4pm when worshippers were about to conclude their Asir prayers at a mosque and opened fire on the victims, after separating elderly and herdsmen from the congregation.

Sources revealed to Sunday Vanguard that the murderous Moslems were on a Dire Revenge mission after security operatives connived with some members of vigilantes/hunters and locals who raided one of their hideouts leading to the killing of a Commander and other Boko Haram members terrorizing Mafa and surrounding communities.

The Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Idi Barde Gubana, led government officials as well as traditional and religious leaders on Tuesday to Babbangida, the headquarters of the local government area to witnessed the burial of 34 victims recovered and brought into General Hospital Babbangida, while over 50 decomposed or mutilated bodies were given a mass burial in Mafa, as they could not be taken to Babbangida.

Gubana, who led the delegation on behalf of Governor Mai Mala Buni, who is outside the country on an official engagement, donated N30 million to victims and families of those who bit the dust and the injured ones.

The Deputy Governor, while sympathizing with the families of the victims and the villagers, prayed Allah to grant Aljannatul Firdaus to the souls of the departed, and also grant quick recovery to the injured victims.

    Meanwhile,
...back at the bunker, his Excellency called the chief of staff and complained that the artillery was keeping him awake...
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Northern Governors' Forum and the military authorities have condemned the attack, assuring that more soldiers would be deployed to Yobe to counter renewed Boko Haram attacks.

One of the survivors, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said he escaped by the whiskers.

''I was lucky to come out of the mosques early, I saw them (insurgents) waiting, one of them shouted that I should go back but I bravely ran away'', he narrated.

''We counted about 87 corpses after the snuffies left, while other bodies were recovered as people ran for their dear lives to the bush. Unfortunately no security operative was present at the scene even after the attack.

''I am very grateful to Allah (God) for sparing my life as I am preparing to get married and settle down as a family man next month.''

Another survivor, who simply gave his name as Mallam Ali Isiaka and who attended the burial, said one of his sons was killed, but he thanked Allah (God) for saving his life.

He called on security agencies to do the needful as most of the people in the area are farmers who will soon start harvesting their crops. ''I thank Allah for everything. I pray that the souls of the departed including my son rest in Aljannatul Firdaus'', the survivor said.

''Most of our people here are farmers and herders. It is unfortunate that after the incident, many people fled the village, leaving their farmlands and hard earned properties due to fear of another attacks.

''We are calling on government and security agencies to come to our aid and provide protection for lives and property in Mafa and the entire Tarmuwa local government area''.

Our correspondent, however, observed that security operatives in the area had been degrading snuffies without giving adequate security cover to the community whose residents claimed that the murderous Moslems latest deadly attack was on suspicion that some members had been giving information on the modus operandi of the murderous Moslems to security agencies, hence the reprisal attack.

Texas AG Sues Second County Using Taxpayer Funds To Pay Voter Registration Firm Run By Progressive Activist
[AmericanActionNews] Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit Friday to stop a county from using taxpayer dollars to pay a voter registration firm aligned with progressives to identify unregistered voters.

Travis County is allegedly illegally paying taxpayer dollars to Civic Government Solutions (CGS), a voter registration firm, to create a list of unregistered voters for the county, according to the lawsuit. Travis County, home of Austin, Texas, is solidly blue, and CGS CEO Jeremy Smith has made statements in the past that encourage people to vote for progressive candidates.

''Travis County has blatantly violated Texas law by paying partisan actors to conduct unlawful identification efforts to track down people who are not registered to vote,'' Paxton said in a blurb. ''Programs like this invite fraud and reduce public trust in our elections. We will stop them and any other county considering such programs.''

The Travis County Commissioners Court approved the use of the firm on Aug. 27, with the contract extending to 2025, according to county documents. CGS has sent over 10 million mailers since 2018 and has registered 2 million voters, according to the lawsuit.

Smith is also the CEO of Civitech, which describes itself as a ''progressive data startup,'' according to Axios. Civitech is listed as a registered contractor of CGS, with their goal being to ''drive support for progressive causes and candidates'' and to register ''likely Democratic voters across the nation could be the key to securing Democratic victory in 2024,'' according to the lawsuit.

''Not investing now means not only will we lose some 2022 elections, but we will lose some 2024 elections and some 2026 elections because we haven't converted people now to become habitual voters. It has downstream impacts,'' Smith said on The Great Battlefield Podcast in 2022. ''It's pernicious in multiple ways, because the system we rely on does not show unregistered people, so the majority of our political efforts are accidentally leaving them out.''

Paxton filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Bexar County for allegedly sending out massive amounts of registration applications regardless of whether they were requested via a third-party vendor. Paxton warned that the program would potentially allow illegal immigrants colonists to vote and ''invites election fraud.''

Voter registration drives can be a good thing, but they ought not to be government funded. In the worst case scenario, folks are registered that are precluded from voting by law. Almost as bad is registering people that don’t vote creating an opportunity for fraud.

's cholera cases have surpassed 5,000, the health ministry said on Saturday, as the outbreak spreads amid heavy rains and flooding. Gedaref state is appealing for urgent humanitarian assistance to establish isolation centers.

The epidemic began on Aug. 12 and has affected 38 localities across multiple states. The actual number of cases is likely higher due to disrupted surveillance systems following the conflict between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The health ministry reported 285 new cases, bringing the total to 5,081, including 176 deaths. Kassala state recorded the most new infections (117), followed by River Nile state (61) and Gedaref (47).

In Gedaref, the outbreak has hit Al Faw, Al Mafazah, and Qalaa Al Nahal localities, with 266 cases and 26 deaths. Medical sources cited shortages of IV fluids, deteriorating sanitation, and disease vectors.

Al Faw Hospital is receiving cases from Wad Al Rakin in Al Jazirah state, partly controlled by the RSF.

Gedaref's health minister has appealed to organizations for rapid interventions, including medicines, IV fluids, chlorine, and isolation centres. He also urged ''Doctors Without Borders'' to assist with environmental sanitation and disease control.

    Government Corruption
Andy Ngo Reports: Tenet Media founders were raided just as the DOJ indictment dropped
This is several days old, but it gives a good overview of the Tenet media scandal, to call it what it is.

There are some ideas floating here and about how this was from the start a US government information operation, but I guess we will see if that is true.

[PostMillennial] Founders of Tenet Media, Lauren Chen and her husband, were raided by federal investigators as the DOJ announced that two Russian-state actors were indicted for laundering $10 million to their media company. They have not been charged.

Update: Shortly after this report was published, Tenet Media announced privately to its staff that it was ceasing operations, effective immediately.

The founders of Tenet Media, the right-wing media startup accused by the U.S. DOJ of illegally taking nearly $10 million from Russian state actors to launder Russian influence, were raided on Wednesday as the indictment was unsealed, according to sources who spoke exclusively with The Post Millennial.

The sources, who are not authorized to publicly speak on record, said the authorities confiscated the electronic devices belonging to Tenet Media owners Lauren Chen, also known as Lauren Yu Sum Tam, and her husband, Liam Donovan, around the time the Biden-Harris administration announced the indictment on Wednesday.

"I don’t think the owners had any idea [about the investigation]," one source said. "[The raid] just came out of nowhere."

Sources said the couple, who are Canadian nationals living in Tennessee, had recently returned from a trip abroad.

Ukrainian General Staff reports on battles in nine directions
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] The situation is currently hot in the Kurakhovsky and Pokrovsky directions, while the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking all necessary measures to contain the enemy's advance and stabilize the situation.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the advance of the Russian occupiers. The Russians continue to destroy Ukrainian cities and villages with air and artillery strikes. The number of combat clashes has now risen to 95. This was reported in the General Staff report as of 16:00 on September 8.

The hottest part is now on the Kurakhovsky and Pokrovsky directions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops unsuccessfully attempted eleven times to storm our positions near Sinkovka, Stepnaya Novosyolka, Glushkovka, Lozovaya and Stelmakhovka.

In the Liman direction, the enemy attacked in the areas of Nevsky, Novosadovy, Torsky, Dibrova and Cherneshchina. In total, since the beginning of the day, there have already been nine combat clashes in this direction, three are still ongoing. The situation is under control.

The enemy does not abandon its attempts to break through the defense of our troops in the Seversky direction, but receives a worthy rebuff from the Ukrainian defenders. Thus, near Verkhnekamenskoye and Grigoryevka, the occupiers have tried to push back our units five times, two assaults are ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have tried five times to dislodge our units from their positions. Near Andreyevka and Kleshchyivka, enemy attacks have been repelled, and three assaults have also taken place near Mayskoye, one of which is ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy, with the support of attack and bomber aircraft, attacked the positions of our troops 12 times. At present, a military clash continues near Nelipovka.

The situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains tense. Fierce battles are taking place in the areas of Zelenoe Pole, Vozdvizhenka, Novotroitskoye, Grodovka, Novogrodovka, Selidovoye and Mikhailovka. The enemy has made 23 assaults on Ukrainian positions. Fighting continues in six locations.

In the Kurakhovsky direction, since the beginning of the day, the invader has attacked our units 19 times. He tried to advance near Krasnogorovka, Dolinovka, Ukrainskaya, Georgievka and Konstantinovka.

In the Vremovsky direction, two enemy assaults towards Vodyanoye were repelled, and another battle continues.

In the area of Malaya Tokmachka and Rabotino in the Orekhov direction, the occupiers tried to advance twice, but were met with a tough rebuff. The enemy also used aviation against Lobkovo.

It is noted that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking all necessary measures to contain the enemy's offensive and stabilize the situation.

Let us recall that on September 5, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, stated that Ukrainian troops had managed to stop the advance of the Russians in the Pokrovsk direction.

President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction "has been better" over the past few days, but it is necessary to wait for stabilization.

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Senior Israeli official: Campaign in Lebanon is approaching
[NAHARNET] A senior Israeli security official told Israel's Channel 12 on Sunday that "the campaign in Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
is getting closer, although the exact timing has not yet been determined."

According to the security source, Israel faces two scenarios: ''reaching a deal (with Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
    over a Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
ceasefire and prisoner exchange) or collapsing the negotiations and quickly entering a direct war against Hezbollah.''

According to the bigwig, the first scenario is ''reaching a deal, a situation in which Israel will be able to choose its preferred timing for future action against Hezbollah targets.''

''Within this scenario, there is hope that Hezbollah will refrain from firing during this period, which will allow the IDF (Israeli army) to complete its preparations in an optimal way and plan the next moves carefully. The clear advantage of this scenario is the possibility of operating under more favorable conditions for Israel,'' the official said.

''The second scenario is the collapse of the negotiations (with Hamas). In such a situation, it is expected that Hezbollah will continue firing at the northern settlements, which may force Israel to enter into action more quickly, under less favorable conditions for it,'' the official added.

The security source emphasized that the Israeli army is in ''the final stages of completing preparations for the possible campaign.''

''The comprehensive preparations include extensive ground preparations, alongside preparation for all possible types of attack. According to him, the army is ready for any scenario and completes preparations both on the ground and in the air. The extent of the preparations indicates the seriousness of the intentions on the part of Israel and the understanding that the next campaign could be complex and challenging,'' Channel 12 said.

The security source noted that Israel is responding to Hezbollah's fire and is hitting the organization "in an unpleasant way." However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
he emphasized that despite the tactical ''successes,'' a significant strategic achievement has not yet been achieved.

The security source also emphasized that the damage caused to Hezbollah is ''significant.''

''The raiding force of the Radwan force, the organization's elite unit, was damaged, and dramatic damage was caused to the infrastructure along the border. This damage to Hezbollah's operational capabilities may affect its ability to operate in the future,'' the source said.

''Furthermore, most of the Radwan force retreated beyond the Litani River, which indicates the significant impact of the IDF's operations on the deployment of Hezbollah's forces,'' the source added.

The fighting has displaced tens of thousands of Lebanese and Israeli residents on both sides of the border and Israel has repeatedly vowed to act to return its citizens through war or diplomatic action.

The cross-border violence has killed some 614 people in Lebanon, mostly fighters but also including 138 civilians, according to an AFP tally. On the Israeli side, including in the annexed Golan Heights, authorities have announced the deaths of at least 24 soldiers and 26 civilians.

Hezbollah retaliates after Israeli strike kills 3 Civil Defense members
[NAHARNET] Hezbollah said Sunday that it staged two separate rocket attacks on Israel's Kiryat Shmona and a third on the Shamir settlement further north, in response to the "massacre" in the southern town of Froun that killed three Lebanese Civil Defense members and wounded two others.

On Saturday, Lebanon's health ministry said three emergency responders were killed and two others wounded, one of them critically, in an Israeli strike on Froun.

The ministry said the attack had targeted "a Lebanese civil defense team that was putting out fires sparked by the recent Israeli strikes," while the Israeli military said it had "eliminated terrorists" from the Hezbollah-allied Amal Movement in Froun.

Lebanon's civil defense agency said three of its employees were killed in "an Israeli strike that targeted a firefighting vehicle after they had finished a firefighting mission."

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attack, saying in a statement that "this new aggression against Lebanon is a blatant violation of international laws... and human values."

The Israeli military on Sunday morning announced it had carried out a series of air strikes on "Hezbollah military structures" and intercepted projectiles launched from Lebanon during the night.

In Froun on Saturday, an Israeli military statement claimed Israeli forces "struck and eliminated" Amal members who "operated within a Hezbollah military structure." The Amal movement for its part said two of its members were among the three Lebanese Civil Defense emergency responders killed in Saturday's strike. It said they were killed "while carrying out their humanitarian and national duty defending Lebanon and the south."

The Lebanese health ministry statement condemned the "blatant Israeli attack that targeted a team from an official body of the Lebanese state."

It added that the attack was "the second of its kind against an emergency team in less than 12 hours."

Fazal-ur-Rehman also referred to attempts inside Pakistain to push for normalization with the Israeli regime. He said that those attempts failed eventually, as the Pak people remained strong in their support for the oppressed Paleostinians.

Sudan army repels ''largest drone attack'' on El Fasher
    [SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
's army and allied forces said on Sunday they had thwarted the ''largest drone attack'' on El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have besieged El Fasher since April, and in May launched a series of attacks in an attempt to seize the city, but were repelled by the army and its allies.

Leaders within the joint forces say the city has been subjected to around 131 attacks from the RSF and allied militias. The fighting and RSF shelling have led to numerous civilian deaths and the displacement of over 500,000 people, along with widespread destruction.

''Today, the defences of the joint forces and the army thwarted the largest drone attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces on the city of El Fasher,'' Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, spokesperson for the joint forces in Darfur, told Sudan Tribune.

He said ground defences shot down around 30 drones, some carrying 120mm and 85mm shells, while others were reconnaissance drones equipped for photography. He added that the drones were flying over northeastern neighbourhoods before being intercepted and downed.

Mustafa said the joint forces destroyed 14 of the drones, while the army destroyed around 16.

German warships to pass through Taiwan Strait
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Baden-Württemberg-class frigate and the combat support ship Frankfurt am Main of the German Navy will pass through the Taiwan Strait in mid-September, despite demands from China. This was reported on September 7 by the German publication Spiegel.

"Despite warnings from Beijing, the frigate Baden-Württemberg and the support ship Frankfurt am Main are scheduled to pass through the Taiwan Strait in mid-September," the article says.

The warships are currently in the Indo-Pacific region, where they took part in international maneuvers. It is noted that their route from South Korea to Indonesia runs through the Taiwan Strait.

Germany does not plan to inform the Chinese authorities of its intention to pass through the strait. According to the source, this could cause a diplomatic conflict between Beijing and Berlin.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 27, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, at a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, emphasized that Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) was and remains part of China. According to him, Beijing will take the necessary countermeasures to any provocations aimed at undermining the "one China" principle.

An opinion piece published by MSNBC calling for the boycott cited a recent report by the nonprofit Center for Countering Digital Hate which claimed to have identified 50 instances where Musk posted false claims about the election. The MSNBC piece also accused Musk of amplifying conspiracy theories and anti-Semitism.

"If every moderate-to-liberal human and organization stopped using the site, that might pressure Musk or his board of directors to stop weaponizing it," the opinion, written by journalist Jay Michaelson, argued.

"It isn’t even a boycott. Leaving X isn’t like boycotting Coors because it’s too right-wing or Bud Light because it’s too left-wing. Those boycotts are fine — that’s part of capitalism too — but X is different in kind. Because unlike beer, the X product itself is the problem," Michaelson added.

A recent guest on MSNBC also commented on claims that Musk has pushed misinformation on the platform, suggesting that he should be prosecuted over his exercise of free speech rights on X. Businessman and investor Roger McNamee, appearing on MSNBC’s "The Last Word," argued that there could be a legal case against Musk due to his statements on social media.

Morocco floods kill four dead and 14 missing
[GEOTV] Moroccan authorities reported on Sunday that four people have died and 14 are missing due to flooding triggered by an "exceptional" climate event in the southern regions, reported AFP.

Since heavy rains began on Friday in the province of Tata, about 740 kilometers south of Rabat, the toll could increase, according to a local official who spoke to AFP. The official, who chose to remain anonymous, also noted that floods had swept away eight houses in valleys near Tamanart, a rural area in the Tata region.

Usually arid areas in southern Morocco and Algeria have been drenched in floods caused by massive rainfall since Friday, officials told AFP Sunday.

Areas in southern Morocco have been affected "by an extremely unstable tropical air mass", the front man for the Moroccan General Directorate of Meteorology, Lhoussaine Youabd, told AFP.

US sees hint in Putin's statements about Harris
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Russian President Vladimir Putin's wordsabout Moscow's support for US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris are evidence that the Russian side is indifferent to the results of the US presidential election. This opinion was expressed on September 7 by retired US Armed Forces officer Daniel Davis on his YouTube channel.

“They [the Russian authorities] are thus hinting that they don’t care who will be the president of the United States,” he said.

According to the expert, former US President and Republican candidate for this post Donald Trump could be a more preferable political figure for Moscow if he wins the elections, as he has repeatedly spoken about his intention to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. However, against this background, the Russian President declared the intention of the Russian side to support Harris.

"They [Russia] don't take us seriously, and that puts us in an awkward position," Davis added.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on September 5, Putin called Harris Moscow's favorite in the upcoming American presidential election after the current US President Joe Biden refused to participate in the election race. The Russian leader also noted her infectious laughter. At the same time, he emphasized that the American people will choose the US president, and Russia will treat the choice with respect.

On September 7, American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk called the Russian president's words about supporting the US vice president interesting. And Trump said that he was hurt by Putin's words about supporting Chris.

Leading researcher at the Russian Academy of Sciences' Center for Security Studies Konstantin Blokhin called Putin's words "subtle political trolling" on September 5. According to him, both Biden and Harris are actually damaging the United States and leading the country in the wrong direction.

Russian naval infantrymen Save Seven Ukrainian Soldiers from Ukrainian Fire, Capturing Them
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Three Russian marines captured and thus saved seven soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from death, leading them out from under fire. This was written by military correspondent Alexander Kots in an article for Komsomolskaya Pravda.

According to the Ukrainians, their own command chose to abandon them during the retreat. Russian soldiers captured them and spent two days in the same basement with them, waiting out the shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"It so happened that we sat in this basement with them for two days. And they shared cigarettes, dry rations, water with us. They provided medical assistance to the wounded. What did we talk about? Where are we from, how did we get here, who is waiting at home," the Ukrainians said.

They note that they ended up at the front not of their own free will, but as a result of raids on employees of territorial recruitment centers (TRCs) against the backdrop of mass mobilization.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, Kots also spoke about the rescue of three Russian soldiers in the SVO zone. According to him, the marines were driving a UAZ during an emergency evacuation in the Ugledar direction and were blown up by a TM-62 tank mine. All of them survived and even returned to duty.

In a story from September 1, Kots spoke about the heroic death of a battalion commander with the call sign Otmel, who defended his positions and, at the cost of his own life, helped his soldiers escape from encirclement.

    Europe
Against gays and migrants. What France expects from the new 73-year-old prime minister
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
    by Olesya Orlenko

[REGNUM] On September 5, the two-month crisis period ended in France, and President Emmanuel Macron finally appointed Michel Barnier as Prime Minister. However, the choice of the head of state has stirred up society.

And the question is not only about the personality or abilities of the new head of government: his actions will affect the social equilibrium, the balance of political forces and, possibly, the position of the leader of France himself.

The epic of choosing the prime minister began with the fact that the left-wing coalition “New Popular Front”, which had won the largest number of seats in parliament, could not decide on a candidate for a long time.

During the discussions, the names of Huguette Belot, a member of the regional council of the island of Reunion, and Laurence Tubiana, a professor of economics with experience in diplomacy and climate change, came up. Finally, the figure of Lucie Castets, the Paris city council's adviser on finance and budget, was proposed, and all the leftists agreed on her candidacy unanimously.

    CLASSIC RIGHT
Emmanuel Macron thought about it and decided to choose... a member of the right-wing party "The Republicans" Michel Barnier.

The new head of government does have political experience. In 1978, he became the youngest member of parliament in the Fifth Republic, led the council in the Savoie region, and also held ministerial posts under François Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac.

Barnier is well known among EU officials, having served in the European Parliament, as the EU's commissioner for the internal market, and as a key player in the Brexit process.

In an interview with TF1 the day after his appointment, Barnier said he had experience both defending the EU's interests with bankers and France's interests with European leaders.

In the current situation, the position of Prime Minister of France implies making important decisions. This includes the adoption of the budget for 2025, which should take place in early October, while serious preparations in this direction have not yet been made due to the absence of a government in the country. And the problem of general social tension due to rising prices and impoverishment of the population.

And Michel Barnier seems to be aware of the responsibility that lies with him. He has said that the priorities of his administration will be the issues of France's public debt, improving pension reform and the migrant crisis.

However, the main issue worrying French society and the media in connection with the appointment of the new prime minister is the crisis of democracy.

Traditionally, the head of government is a candidate from the same political camp as the largest faction in the National Assembly. But in the lower house of parliament of the current convocation, the majority of seats are concentrated in the hands of a coalition of several left-wing parties.

And unity in their ranks is not always achieved immediately. Everyone has already seen this from the example of the hesitation regarding the candidacy for the post of Prime Minister, and which, by the way, is blamed on the "New People's Front" by a number of experts who see this as a destabilizing factor.

From the first days after the second round of parliamentary elections, Macron's entourage talked about the inadmissibility of ministers from "France Unbowed" on the one hand, and from "National Rally" on the other, getting into the country's government. In this regard, the candidacy of the classic right-wing party "Republicans" was obvious.

The catch is that the party only won 47 seats in the National Assembly. And they are seen as allies of the pro-presidential "Together" alliance.

In fact, one of the claims against Barnier is that he will continue the policy of the head of state, while the results of the recent vote should be understood precisely as a vote of no confidence in this line.

From this point of view, the results of a sociological survey by the ELABE Institute are indicative, according to which 74% of respondents believe that Macron did not draw conclusions from the expression of the will of the French people, and 52% have a positive attitude towards the announcement of a vote of no confidence in the president.

Despite the fact that 40% of respondents positively assess the appointment of Michel Barnier, 50% think that the new head of government will not be able to withstand the confrontation with parliamentarians.

    THE LEFT WAS DECEIVED
Protests against the new appointment have already begun in the left-wing political camp and in society. At the demonstration held on September 7, organized by the left-wing coalition, disagreement with the choice of the president was heard.

Barnier is called a conservative who voted against the abolition of the article on homosexuality in the country's Criminal Code. They also recall his position on migrants, saying that he adopted some of the rhetoric from the most radical and racist part of the far right.

It is no surprise that Marion Maréchal-le Pen expressed hope on her social networks that he will be able to fulfill his promises in this regard.

Particularly painful for the left is the fact that the presidential coalition gained several dozen seats thanks to the support of the New Popular Front in the regions. The disappointed left considered Barnier's candidacy a violation of the unspoken agreement.

But the National Rally party, which was opposed by a real front during the early elections, is now playing a key role in stabilizing the political situation in the country. And this is another topic that is being actively discussed by the French media.

The support of these 142 deputies, who, unlike the other major factions in parliament, are a single party, will be decisive in the event of a vote of no confidence.

While Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella say they will be watching the first steps of the head of government, the party is generally supportive of the new prime minister and intends to give him a chance to prove himself.

But their fellow MPs are already voicing their wishes regarding ministerial portfolios. For example, members of the National Rally do not want the reappointment of former Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire and Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti.

The long-awaited appointment of a prime minister is certainly better than the state of uncertainty that France has endured for two months. But Macron's decision is fraught with further problems in both the short and long term.

Many consider Michel Barnier's position to be temporary and are anxiously awaiting next year, when, by law, the head of state will be able to dissolve parliament again.

All these upheavals have a negative impact on the mood of the French. On the one hand, people are becoming disillusioned with the political system, where, despite the votes of the electorate, the president rules alone.

On the other hand, they are unhappy that politicians are busy fighting for power, while the economic and social situation continues to deteriorate.

Researchers from the Sciense Po political science institute show that more and more people, including young people, consider it possible to sacrifice democratic manifestations in politics in exchange for the effective work of the government and the state.

And some experts predict a radicalization of society against the backdrop of frustration caused by the political situation.

"Afghan Taliban opened fire towards Pak check-posts using advanced weaponry in Pilwasin on the morning of September 7."

Besides a spike in terrorist activities within the borders, Pakistain has witnessed a significant surge in cross-border attacks from the neighbouring country targetting security forces in recent months.

Hezbollah attacks Al-Zaourah compound’s Iron Dome
[GEOTV] The Lebanese resistance group, Hezbollah, confirms on its Telegram channel that it has launched drone attacks at the Al-Zaourah compound of the Israeli military also targeting its Iron Domes, as per Al Jazeera.

The Iron Domes have the capability to shoot down incoming drones or missiles from the opposing territory.

The group confirms that it directly hit, killed and wounded Israeli soldiers.

Hezbollah says that this attack was in retaliation of Israel's attack on Southern Lebanese villages and towns including the Khirbet Selm which was earlier struck with three missiles from the Israeli army warplanes.

Indonesia Thwarts Alleged Islamic Terror Plot Against Pope Francis
[Breitbart] Indonesian police have arrested seven people allegedly connected to an Islamic terror plot to attack Pope Francis

...Argentine liberation theologist, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio. He was elected pope in 2013. Rather than setting up shop in Avignon, where he belongs, the first Jesuit Pope chose to reside in the Domus Sanctae Marthae guesthouse instead of the papal apartments. That was to show how humble he is. He is big on climate change, against consumerism, and in favor of throwing a blanket over homosexual activity within the clergy. He's not real sure about the Resurrection, about Christ's divinity, and a few other things that would have gotten him burned at the stake a few hundred years ago, but he's hot for a certain South American Earth Mother Goddess...
during his visit to the country.

The coordinated arrests took place in Jakarta, the outlying cities of Bogor and Bekasi, the West Sumatra province, and the Bangka Belitung Islands province, according to a statement Indonesia’s national counterterrorism squad, Detachment-88, released Friday.

The statement included the initials of those detained — HFP, LB, DF, FA, HS, ER, and RS — and specified that the majority of the arrests occurred on September 2 and 3.

Detachment-88 front man Colonel Aswin Siregar said it is not yet clear if the seven suspects know each other or are members of the same terror cell.

"We have a mechanism to monitor and filter. We had tip-off information from members of the public," Aswin said.

Aswin told news hounds that legal action has been taken against the seven individuals "who made threats in the form of propaganda or terror threats via social media in response to the pope’s arrival."

"There was also a threat to set fire to the locations," he added.

One source told local media that the would-be assailants were upset about Pope Francis’s visit to Jakarta’s Istiqlal mosque as well as the government’s request that television stations refrain from the usual broadcasting of azan (Islamic call to prayer) while the pope’s visit was being broadcast live.

The source also said that some of those arrested had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
and that searches conducted in the house of one of the detainees yielded bows and arrows, a drone, and ISIS leaflets.

"One of the arrested is a bad boy who belongs to the same terror group that attacked Wiranto," the source said, referring to Indonesia’s former chief security minister, whom two Islamist Lions of Islam stabbed in 2019.

Pope Francis famously denied the existence of Islamic terrorism in 2017. "Christian terrorism does not exist, Jewish terrorism does not exist, and Moslem terrorism does not exist. They do not exist," he said.

The pope departed from Indonesia Friday to continue his 12-day trip in Southeast Asia, landing in Papua New Guinea. Later, he will travel to East Timor and Singapore.

Houthis Claim to Have Destroyed US MQ-9 Reaper Drone
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The American MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed in the skies over Marib province by Houthi air defense systems. This was stated on September 7 by the military spokesman for the Ansar Allah movement, Yahya Saria.

“An American MQ-9 drone was shot down while it was carrying out hostile actions in the airspace of Marib province,” Al Masirah TV channel quotes him as saying.

The movement's representative clarified that this reconnaissance and strike drone was the eighth American drone of this type destroyed over Yemen since 2017.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on September 2, the Blue Lagoon I oil tanker under the Panama flag and the Amjad vessel under the Saudi Arabian flag were attacked in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen. Before that, Yahya Saria said that the Houthis attacked the Sounion tanker in the Red Sea and the Sw North Wind I dry cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden using UAVs, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.

The Houthis have been attacking ships linked to Israel and its allies since the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in October 2023, demanding an end to the IDF military operation in the Gaza Strip.

    Science & Technology
Robots on the Front Lines of Future Urban Warfare
    Direct Translation via Google Translate.

Text taken from the Telegram channel of darpaandcia

[ColonelCassad] In the post “War in the City: How DARPA is Preparing for Fighting in Megacities” we wrote about the projects developed by DARPA for warfare in urban environments. We would like to introduce you to one of them, called the Subterranean Challenge (SubT). DARPA (the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) launched this project to develop innovative technologies for rapid mapping, navigation, and search in complex underground environments. Particular emphasis was placed on military applications and the study of urban underground communications. Key aspects of the project:

    1. Military applications:

    • Development of systems for conducting reconnaissance operations in potentially hazardous underground environments.
    • The ability to send robotic groups ahead of fighters for rapid search and mapping.
    • Reducing risks to personnel during underground operations.

    2. Urban communications:

    • Study of complex underground infrastructures, including multi-level parking lots, metro stations, technical tunnels.
    • Development of systems for navigation in complex urban layouts covering several floors and blocks.
    • Interaction with various technical systems of urban underground infrastructure.

Technical requirements for the developed systems include:

    • Autonomous navigation without GPS in conditions of limited visibility.
    • Performance of sensors in extreme conditions (darkness, dust, fog).
    • Reliable communication with limited passage of radio signals.
    • Overcoming complex obstacles (narrow passages, vertical shafts).
    • Endurance for long-term operation (from 30 to 180 minutes).
    • Detection and geolocation of objects of interest (electrical panels, leaks, etc.).

The project was organized as a competition between teams with a total funding of about $40 million. Key participants: iRobot Defense Holdings, Michigan Technological University, FLIR Unmanned Ground Systems and Scientific Systems.

The DARPA Subterranean Challenge has opened a new chapter in military technology, focused on the development of underground urban spaces. This is not just a technological competition - it is preparation for real scenarios of future conflicts.

The systems being developed can radically change the tactics of urban warfare. Imagine a squad of robots silently exploring the underground communications of a metropolis, creating detailed 3D maps and detecting hidden threats - all without risking the lives of soldiers. Such technologies will give a huge tactical advantage.

    The Grand Turk
    Turkish 1937
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

1937 is a reference to the Stalinist purge of the Soviet military in 1937.

Text by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] Russia completely failed to notice Erdogan's victory over the previous Turkish army. And over the past two decades, not only have hundreds of generals and senior officers been imprisoned and fired (moreover, mass arrests and purges of the military in Turkey did not begin after the failed coup of 2016, but much earlier, see the Ergenekon case, etc.), but the entire system has been harshly reformatted.

The structure of the headquarters has been completely changed. Erdogan has purged the army officers as much as possible from the Milli İstihbarat Teşkilatı, the local State Security and Intelligence Service.

All the higher military schools with very long traditions, such as the Military Academy (which existed since 1834) and the Naval Academy (which dates back to 1773), have been disbanded. In their place, the National Military University has been created, under the leadership of a civilian - historian Erkan Afyoncu, who is very far from the generals. By the way, this Erdogan's chief military educator wrote his dissertation on the history of Crimea.

The military police and border guards have been transferred from the army to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. All military-industrial complex enterprises, previously directly controlled by the Turkish army, have been transferred under the control of the government. Even all military hospitals in the country and the Military Medical Academy have been subordinated to the Ministry of Health. At the same time, about four thousand military doctors and medical staff have been dismissed... Although what is there to count the dismissals of doctors, when in 2016 alone, 586 colonels were dismissed in Turkey - this is 10% of all colonels in the Turkish armed forces.

In a word, Erdogan's pogrom of the old Turkish army, created by the Westernized heirs of Ataturk, is underestimated here.

However, any purges are not only dismissed and/or imprisoned, but also open social elevators. That is, Erdogan's colonels and generals are replacing the old ones. The process there is complex, with a lot of intrigue, it brings both pluses and minuses for modern Turkey - in a word, it is very curious what will come out of it in the end.
He purged the competent and promoted those with the right politics. It should definitely impact military effectiveness.
P.S. For illustration - General Akin Ozturk, until July 2016, the commander-in-chief of the Turkish Air Force. In the photo on the right before the arrest (by the way, almost 6,000 hours of flight time on combat aircraft), and on the left - already under arrest, when Erdogan's investigators quickly beat a confession out of him that he was... a member of a Jewish Masonic lodge.
A Jewish Mason? I thought President Erdogan was busily purging Gulenists.
    This is 1937 in Turkish.

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Netanyahu asks army to ''prepare to change situation'' in north
[Naharnet] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said that he has instructed the army and security forces to prepare to change the situation on Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel.
's border, where Israel has been engaged in near-daily festivities with Hezbollah since October 8 last year.

''Iran's strongest arm is Hezbollah in Lebanon. I have instructed the IDF (army) and all security forces to prepare to change this situation. There is no possibility that we will continue in the current situation, and we are obligated to safely return all the residents of the north to their homes,'' Netanyahu said during the weekly cabinet session, according to Israel's Channel 12.

Israel and Hezbollah had on August 25 exchanged heavy fire that briefly raised fears of an all-out war. On that day, Israel said around 100 warplanes launched Arclight airstrike
    ...KABOOM!...
s targeting hundreds of rocket launchers across southern Lebanon to thwart an imminent Hezbollah attack. Hezbollah for its part said it launched hundreds of rockets and drones at Israeli military and security bases, including at a key intelligence base in Tel Aviv's suburbs.

Hezbollah called the attack a response to the killing of one of its top commanders, Fouad Shukur, in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut's southern suburbs in July.

The August 25 exchange of fire did not set off a long-feared war, and the heavy firepower and lack of civilian casualties allowed both sides to claim a sort of victory and step back. But tensions remain high.

Jordan closes King Hussein bridge after shooting incident, fireworks in Amman celebrate Jordanian murder of three at Israeli border crossing
Follow-up to this story from yesterday.
[GEOTV] Jordan has closed the King Hussein bridge crossing with the occupied West Bank as it investigates a shooting incident in which three Israelis were killed, a Jordanian official told Reuters.

The incident occurred in a commercial cargo area under Israeli control where Jordanian trucks offload cargo entering the occupied West Bank from the kingdom.

Fireworks in Amman as thousands celebrate Allenby Bridge Crossing terror shooting

[IsraelTimes] Thousands of people are celebrating on the streets of Amman, after a Jordanian truck driver killed three Israelis at the Allenby Bridge Crossing between Jordan and the West Bank this morning, claiming the gunman had avenged the deaths of thousands of Paleostinians in the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.
Videos posted to social media show fireworks being set off during the demonstration.

People wave Jordanian flags, and there are reports of Israeli flags being burned at the event.

Jordan has said it is investigating this morning’s terror attack, but has not yet condemned the shooting.

Israel and Jordan signed a peace treaty in 1994 and have close security ties. Dozens of trucks cross daily from Jordan, with goods from Jordan and the Gulf that supply both the West Bank and Israeli markets.

Israeli strike kills senior rescue service official in Gaza as fighting rages
[GEOTV] An Israeli airstrike on a house in Jabalia on Sunday killed Mohammad Morsi, deputy director of the Gaza Civil Emergency Service in the northern areas of the Gaza Strip, and four of his family, health officials said.
All Hamas officials are targets. Enjoy the result of the war you started, dude.
The Civil Emergency Service said in a statement that Morsi's death raised to 83 the number of its members killed by Israeli fire since October 7.

There was no immediate Israeli comment on Morsi's death.

A ‘Crowdfunding’ Campaign is Apparently Needed to Dodge Threats and Fund a 10/11/24 Release of a Film That Portrays Trump in a Sleazy Way in the 70's and 80's
[HollywoodReporter] ‘The Apprentice’ Producers Explain Why They Need a Kickstarter Campaign.

Daniel Bekerman and Amy Baer talk about the legal threats from Trump that spooked distributors and why crowdfunding was right for their film: "We wanted to do whatever we could to make sure that the movie was seen."

Yesterday, the filmmakers behind Donald Trump movie The Apprentice launched a Kickstarter campaign to assist with the October theatrical release of the film with a goal of raising $100,000. A day later, it has already topped that goal, raising more than $139,000 for the campaign, dubbed “Release The Apprentice.”

A Kickstarter campaign is not the go-to move for a splashy, albeit independently financed, feature with award-winning stars like Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong, and a debut at the Cannes Film Festival. But The Apprentice has had a long and embattled journey to get to theaters.

Since the film’s festival debut, its potential release has been mired in uncertainty. Dan Snyder, the pro-Trump billionaire, is involved with Kinematics, the company that put up equity for the film against domestic rights. Snyder was reportedly was displeased with the film’s depiction of Trump and sought to block its release. After the film’s Cannes debut, Trump’s lawyers sent a cease and desist letter also in an attempt to block the film’s release.

The Apprentice, from director Ali Abbasi, explores Donald Trump’s (Stan) rise to power in 1980s America under the influence of the firebrand right-wing attorney Roy Cohn (Strong). Among the scenes that reportedly earned the ire of the former president and his backers are a sequence where he rapes his first wife Ivana and also scenes that show Trump getting liposuction.

    #1  Notes:

o You've got to bet that Marla Maples is going to show up, and incidentally, photo's of Marla should be shown at least quarterly in the 'Good Morning' post.

o The film makers readily state that the story is "a work of art and a work of fiction."

#2  Among the scenes …a sequence where he rapes his first wife Ivana

Based on something she said once, according to Slate, which was puzzled that once the divorce was done she seemed to adore her husband:
In a divorce deposition, Ivana accused Trump of raping her, though later she said that she had not meant that in a literal sense. This specific detail, much discussed in the 2016 campaign, helped explain why so many people projected their feelings onto Ivana, and why they were so often disappointed: Plenty of Americans wanted to feel for her because she was abused (allegedly physically, but also mentally and emotionally)—and some certainly held out hope she would become a resistance figure, ascending to the person she appeared to be in a cameo in The First Wives Club in 1996. But she never fully landed that role. Instead, she defended Trump, remained his friend, and didn’t seem at all disturbed by the politician he became.
