[Garowe] Considered as 'small but threatening', the IS-Somalia terror network has accumulated close to $6 million within the last two years, a report by the International Crisis Group (ICG) estimates, noting the group’s ambitious plans to expand its territory.
Presently, the IS-Somalia group operates within the Bari region in Puntland ...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion... and has close to 500 fighters, with a number of them believed to be foreign nationals. The group intends to expand its territory by courting locals through incentives such as the provision of basic commodities.
But despite the financial muscles which are on an upward trajectory, the monetary dealings of the group remain opaque and cannot be properly established and traced, the ICG report observes in the middle of the increasing threats from the group.
"In Puntland, it generates funds by extorting businesses in the seaport city of Bosasso ...Puntland's major (maybe only) port, population about 250,000, most of them shady characters who hang around waterfront dives and carry knives and brass knuckles... , as well as by helping export small quantities of gold mined in Bari. The U.S. government claims that IS-Somalia has piled up $6 million since 2022. The group also handles the transfer of funds among a range of IS-linked offices and cells," reads part of the report.
UN reports suggest that the organization has funneled money from the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... ’s traditional territorial core, in Iraq and Syria, to affiliates in Africa, as well as from its coffers to other branches. Several sources have told Crisis Group that the group has sent money to groups as far afield as IS-Khorasan Province in Afghanistan.
These transactions prodded the U.S. government to pay greater attention to IS-Somalia’s financial network. In January 2023, the U.S. military conducted a raid in Puntland that killed the presumed key controller for the Al Karrar office, Bilal al-Sudani, the report says.
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin released a statement saying al-Sudani "was responsible for fostering the growing presence of ISIS in Africa and for funding the group’s operations worldwide, including in Afghanistan".
It is unclear to what extent the operation disrupted the network’s financial dealings, but it seems that IS-Somalia managed to rebuild. Somali and foreign security officials note that IS-Somalia is still making transfers: although the group works on a smaller scale than al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... , the latter is not thought to be sending funds to jihadists abroad in the same way.
In May, the U.S. struck IS-Somalia once again, killing three holy warriors but missing Mumin, the primary target. The group has also failed to make significant progress due to concerted efforts by regional military teams in Puntland who have confined them to around Golis mountains.
IS-Somalia has been trying to recruit more imported muscle with Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... is and Æthiopians being the culprits. However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package... the US Africa Command has worked closely with local authorities to prevent the group from infiltrating critical regions as a strategy to suppress it further.
The group, however, does not have much financial influence as opposed to its rivals, the al-Shabaab, who are dominant in central and southern regions. A report by the United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... suggests that al-Shabaab makes up to $130 million annually.
Of this amount, $24 million goes to the purchase of weapons with the remaining going to logistical operations. However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package... the government of Somalia has devised various counterterrorism strategies, including closing bank accounts and mobile money transfer firms linked to the group to minimize its activities.

Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... ’s October 7 assault caught the Israeli Air Force woefully unprepared, with few aircraft at the ready and a paucity of training for a scenario of mass infiltration from Gazoo

It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... , according to an investigative report Wednesday.
The examination, which the Kan public broadcaster said was partially based on the IAF’s own unpublished findings, is the latest to paint a damning picture of the military’s lack of readiness for a large coordinated attack from Gaza and its various failings as it struggled to mount a response.
The inquiry revealed flaws with the air force’s ability to collect effective real-time intelligence from the sky, problems with keeping sensitive material out of Hamas’s hands, and commanders operating with less information than Israeli news consumers, with Air Force Chief Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar reportedly only learning of the massacre of partygoers at the Supernova rave near Kibbutz Re’im some 10 hours after the attack began.
Questions over the seeming absence of significant Israeli aerial activity on the morning of October 7 emerged almost immediately, with many seeking to know why Israel’s vaunted air corps, equipped with some of the world’s most advanced weaponry and possessing total air superiority, were unable to slow or even stymie the low-tech Hamas attack.
A number of inquiries have been launched to examine the army’s readiness, response and decision-making, though conclusions have been released only piecemeal thus far. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has so far rejected the launch of an independent probe or state inquiry into the politicianship until after the war, now in its 12th month.
According to the Kan report, the air force was at its lowest level of readiness when Hamas forces of Evil started firing massive volleys of rockets into Israel at 6:30 a.m. on October 7, kicking off an unprecedented invasion that would leave some 1,200 people dead, hundreds more kidnapped into Gaza and the country shaken to its core.
That meant that the air force had only two fighter jets and two other planes at the ready that Saturday, which coincided with the Jewish religious holiday of Simhat Torah.
Keeping an eye on the Strip was a single surveillance drone, though nobody was at the helm to monitor its feed in real-time as thousands of Hamas-led forces of Evil streamed toward the suddenly porous Gaza border fence, according to the report.
Even had the air force had aircraft and pilots at the ready, the report indicated that there had been little planning for what to do in such a scenario. Once the air force did mount a response, it scrambled its planes to protect strategic sites such as offshore gas rigs, rather than send them on offensive missions near Gaza.
A senior air force officer described the scene at the branch’s underground war room while the attack unfolded as "chaos," the disarray compounded by the fact that those in the bunker were siloed off from phones or television and reliant on information from the Israel Defense Forces’ Gaza Division, which had essentially been overrun and was barely functioning.
"What you saw on TV, we didn’t know. It’s unbelievable. Only in the afternoon, when I went up for the first time for a smoke, I opened Ynet and saw the Toyota with forces of Evil in Sderot," the officer was quoted saying, referring to a widely circulated video that was one of the first to emerge from the invasion.
According to the report, Bar, the head of the air force, only learned that there was an outdoor rave under attack at 4:20 p.m., several hours after forces of Evil began their deadly rampage at the now infamous festival, where over 350 people were slaughtered.
A helicopter pilot who was the first to deploy to southern Israel said he was on his third sortie at around 2:30 p.m. when he was asked to provide cover to an infantry force sent to the scene of "a nature party," marking the first time he’d heard about it.
He said he told the officer that he did not know what "nature party" was supposed to mean. "I thought he was speaking to me in code."
Another officer quoted by Kan, in the air force’s UAV unit, said he had pushed for years for the military to plan for and conduct drills to prepare for the possible mass infiltration of Gazooks into Israel, spurred by repeated demonstrations that saw thousands of Gazooks mass on the border and occasionally make limited incursions into Israel.
The unnamed officer said only a single drill to prepare for the possibility was ever conducted, saying he believed commanders had only sought to "tick a checkbox" with the exercise.
"The thought that thousands of Gazook protesters on the fence would break into Israel and we would not know what to do became a nightmare that could happen at any moment for me, but the air force commanders didn’t think about it," the officer was quoted saying.
According to Kan, the IDF only happened to lay out directives for the air force in case of a ground invasion of the country not long before the attack, and the plan was only partially implemented on October 7.
Israel’s first attempt to respond from the air came some 45 minutes after the attack began, but consisted of only a single drone which was ineffective in holding off forces of Evil attacking Kibbutz Netiv Ha’asara, Kan reported.
Only at 10 a.m. was a comprehensive air attack ordered to strike forces of Evil along the border, and it was only deployed an hour after that, according to the report. The inquiry described Hamas aiming rockets at fighter jet takeoff paths, complicating matters for aircraft attempting to take to the air. The report noted that the terror group had managed to gather sensitive intel on the air force and even drew up plans to attack an air base.
In response to the report, the IDF said it and the air force had "failed in its mission" but also said it had been able to deploy a response within hours, attacking hundreds of targets and helping evacuate many of the maimed.
It also denied that it had failed to drill for an infiltration scenario or that it had been unprepared on the morning of October 7, and said the findings of its investigation would be released to the public when finished.
The report is the latest to point to questionable decision-making and bedlam within the military that left thousands of people in southern Israel exposed in the face of brutal massacres and other atrocities that left whole communities destroyed.
An IDF internal probe into its response in Kibbutz Be’eri in July accused the air force’s elite Shaldag commando unit of poor decision-making for withdrawing from the kibbutz in the heat of battle in order to evacuate two soldiers.
Bar said in July that the air force had been at full "operational competency" ahead of the October 7 onslaught, pushing back against concerns that its readiness had been degraded by reservist pilots refusing to train in protest over the government’s planned judicial overhaul.
[IsraelTimes] Brig. Gen. Yossi Sariel acknowledges his unit failed to act to prevent October 7 attack, despite gathering ‘detailed information’ about Hamas’s operational attack plans
Unit 8200 is the IDF’s main signals intelligence unit.
A Channel 12 report in July said that Sariel at the time was resisting any efforts to resign, saying that such a move would be tantamount to “cowardice.”
In a letter written to those under his command on Thursday, Sariel wrote that “on October 7 at 6:29 a.m. I did not fulfill my mission as I expected of myself, as my commanders and subordinates expected of me, and as the citizens of the nation I love so much expected of me.”
Sariel added that in light of such failures, “and in accordance with the state of the war,” he is seeking to “carry out my personal responsibility as the commander of 8200 and pass the baton to the next shift,” at a time seen fit by IDF authorities.
The general wrote that in the initial investigation of 8200’s role in the failures of October 7, it was found that “in the years, months, days and hours that preceded the surprise attack,” the unit put together detailed reports about “Hamas’s operational attack plan.”
Nevertheless, he wrote, “the detailed information that was produced and distributed about Hamas’s plans and its preparations did not succeed in shattering the intelligence and military foundations either within the unit or among our partners. Despite the expectations of us,” he said, his unit had failed to pinpoint the intelligence to prevent such an assault.
A number of reports over the past 11 months have indicated that a large number of warnings of such an attack went unheeded, including those seen by some of the most senior military officials. A Channel 12 report in August said that Unit 8200 obtained a detailed document in April 2022 setting out Hamas’s plans for such an attack but never passed it on to the chief of staff, while in July the network reported that an alert system set up to warn of coming attacks was “neglected” by Sariel during his tenure.
Unit 8200 also put together a dossier on September 19 — less than three weeks before October 7 — that warned Hamas was training for a large-scale invasion of Israel, but the concerns were largely dismissed by senior intelligence officials.
The commander of the 8200 intelligence unit is generally not publicly known, but Sariel’s identity was leaked in a Guardian report in April, which revealed his name after he published a book under an alias with a digital trail that led back to him.
A number of other senior security officials have left their posts in the months following the October 7 attack, although much of the IDF’s senior leadership remains the same.
In July, the head of the Shin Bet security agency’s Southern District stepped down, and in April, Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva, chief of the Military Intelligence Directorate, announced his decision to depart. In June, Brig. Gen. Avi Rosenfeld, the head of the Gaza Division, announced his resignation, while Brig. Gen. Amit Saar, head of the Directorate’s Research Division, who was also widely expected to quit, stepped down in March after being diagnosed with cancer.

Back in the 90s as a 'peace dividend' the Pentagon shut down the standby fighter program which had planes that could be scrambled to intercept incoming air threats along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. They had long ago closed the old Nike Hercules missile batteries that had guarded major metro areas with no replacements. There was no 'if only' on 9/11.

That suggests to me that all the US says about protecting Taiwan, Japan or anywhere else might just be imaginary in the face of rapid attacks without ready visible lead in to the attacks.

Not sure the USA is innocent either. USA may have been giving intel to IDF saying Hamas is just pretending.
Also possible that the Shmini Atzeres/Shabbat/Simhat Torah festivities took a lot of people off line.
Also possible that Netanyahu, Gallant and other heavies had given instructions to discount Hamas activities.

Now, as the IDF maintains control of the entire city and the border area with Egypt, known as the Philadelphi Corridor, combat engineers are completing their investigations of a few dozen Hamas tunnels that have not yet been demolished, an operation that will not take longer than a few weeks.
With seemingly no hostage deal with the terror group on the horizon — under which the IDF would likely have to withdraw from the Gaza Strip, including the Philadelphi Corridor — it currently remains unclear what the IDF will do in Rafah once the last tunnel is destroyed.
Senior military officials said they would carry out whatever missions the political echelon eventually orders them to complete.
"The Rafah Brigade has been defeated," Brig. Gen. Itzik Cohen, the general in charge of the offensive in the city, told news hounds at the Philadelphi Corridor. "Their four battalions have been destroyed, and we have completed operational control over the entire urban area."
Cohen, who commands the IDF’s 162nd Division, said that his combat engineering forces located 203 separate, but interconnected, tunnels in the Philadelphi Corridor, stretching from the Egypt border to about 300 meters away on the outskirts of the city of Rafah.
"Most of them we have destroyed," the general said. "We are operating at the other sites to investigate them, and when we will finish investigating, they will be destroyed."
Out of the 203 tunnels, Cohen confirmed that the IDF had so far located a total of nine that had crossed into Egypt, but every single one had been blocked up before the IDF arrived, either by Egyptian authorities or Hamas themselves.
"There are a total of nine underground sites [tunnels] that cross into Egyptian territory, but they have collapsed, they are not usable, they are not active," he said.
The existence of cross-border tunnels between Egypt and the Strip has long been a matter of public record. Egypt itself has worked for years to thwart the cross-border network, blowing tunnels up, flooding them with water, pumping toxic gas into them, and even razing homes along the border to establish a buffer zone.
As Egypt demolished the tunnels on its side of the border, and as Hamas grew in power, it relied less and less on the cross-border passages for weapon smuggling, according to Israeli assessments. Instead, Hamas would smuggle in weaponry overground via the Rafah Border Crossing with Egypt. Additionally, a significant portion of Hamas’s weaponry has been locally made, mostly its rockets, RPGs and bombs, according to IDF assessments.
Despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s insistence on the IDF remaining in the Philadelphi Corridor to ostensibly prevent Hamas from rearming, the military appeared to have been in no rush to search for the few inactive cross-border tunnels along the Gaza-Egypt border, launching its offensive there only in May, seven months into the war.
Still, the IDF had considered it necessary to take control of the Rafah crossing, which Hamas was indeed using to smuggle in some arms, although possibly at a lower volume in recent years due to its increased local production.
Reporters were given a tour of one of the former cross-border tunnels on Thursday, previously shown off by the IDF in a blurb. The tunnel, which did not run particularly deep underground, was one of the widest and tallest found in Gaza, big enough for vehicles to pass through.
Like the other eight tunnels that crossed into Egypt, this one too was blocked up — once on the Egyptian side, and a second time by Hamas inside Gaza. It is unclear why the terror group collapsed part of its own tunnel in this case, but some military officials speculated that it was an attempt by Hamas to hide the fact that it did previously have cross-border tunnels.
’MOTHER OF TUNNELS’
Hamas’s tunnel network in Rafah has been seen as unique, and large, in comparison to other areas of Gaza, with IDF officials describing it as "umm al-anfaq," the mother of tunnels in Arabic, due to the underground passages, on three levels, being all interconnected.
In northern Gaza, the IDF located separate tunnels used by senior Hamas commanders, which were not connected to the passages used by low-ranking operatives.
In Rafah, every single tunnel was connected to the others, according to the IDF, with some military officials describing it as an underground city larger than the one above it.
One major tunnel complex in the Yabna area, located some 40 meters deep, was used by the commander of Hamas’s Rafah Brigade, Muhammad Shabana, and possibly other top members of the terror group during the war.
The 162nd Division also saw during its offensive in Rafah Hamas operatives repeatedly collapsing parts of tunnels as they attempted to withdraw from areas where the IDF was approaching.
One tunnel in the Tel Sultan neighborhood, where Hamas operatives had blocked off one of the main entrances and collapsed another part, was where six Israeli hostages were recently murdered. Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Ori Danino, Alex Lobanov, Carmel Gat, and Almog Sarusi were killed by their captors in the tunnel on August 29, before being discovered by IDF troops less than two days later.
Reporters were taken to the now-uncovered entrance to the tunnel, located in a children’s playroom in a home in Tel Sultan.
The 162nd Division had almost completed its operations in Tel Sultan before the bodies were found, but commanders had decided to check out one last site where they had intelligence of a tunnel that was not yet uncovered.
Initially, troops were unable to find the tunnel. They then circled back with an excavator to dig up the ground in hopes of finding an entrance. Unconventionally, the excavator did not dig to find the tunnel entrance, but rather fell slightly into the shaft.
Inside the 20-meter-deep tunnel, a blast door had blocked the way forward. So combat engineers dug down a few meters after it, now that they knew where the route was. A drone was then sent down into the tunnel, and the bodies of the six murdered hostages were found.
The 162nd Division operated in Tel Sultan with the assumption that hostages could be held in the area, but the possibility was seen as low-to-moderate, as before the Rafah offensive, some 1.4 million Paleostinians — among them many Hamas murderous Moslems — fled to the Israeli designated humanitarian zone. The assumption was that, like in other areas of Gaza, Hamas operatives would move the hostages with them as they fled.
As the operation continued in Tel Sultan, the IDF identified and killed the entire leadership of the Hamas battalion there, who were all fleeing. This again led commanders to assume that the chances of hostages being in the area were low, since the Tel Sultan Battalion commanders and operatives were fleeing without any hostages with them.
But days later, on August 27, the IDF rescued hostage Farhan al-Qadi from a tunnel in Tel Sultan. Military officials said that the fact that he was rescued from a tunnel by special forces showed that the IDF was still operating under the assumption that hostages could be in the area, but this was not considered a special rescue operation, like others that have been carried out using precise intelligence.
Four days after that, the bodies of the six murdered hostages were found, just 700 meters away from where al-Qadi was rescued.
"We didn’t prepare for this. We came here to defeat the Rafah Brigade, and still, we were a step away [from the hostages]," said Lt. Col. Yisgav Yisraeli, the commander of the 601st Combat Engineering Battalion, from the entrance to the tunnel shaft where the six hostages were murdered.

THE TERRORISTS ELIMINATED IN THE STRIKE
Muhammad Adnan Abu Zayd, a UNRWA employee and one of the nine turbans listed, launched mortars at Israel as part of his role in Hamas's Military Wing, the military said.
Yasser Ibrahim Abu Sharar, another of the eliminated turbans and an employee of UNRWA, reportedly acted as both a member of Hamas's military wing, the Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades, and as an operative in Hamas's emergency bureau in Nuseirat.
The military also said that Ayad Matar was both a UNRWA employee and a terrorist in Hamas's military wing.
The other turbans named by the IDF were Aysar Karadia, a member of the Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades, and Bassem Majed Shaheen, who took part in Hamas's October 7 attack and was also a member of the group's military wing.
Also named were Amar al-Jadili and Akram Saber al-Ghalaydi, both members of Hamas's military wing and operatives in the group's Internal Security Forces.
Muhammad Issa Abu al-Amir, involved in the October 7 attack, was also part of Hamas's military wing. Finally, the IDF identified Sharif Salam as a member of Hamas's military wing.
HAMAS'S USE OF CIVILIAN AND UNRWA INFRASTRUCTURE
Since and before October 7, Hamas has been recorded using civilian structures for their terrorist activities. During a search of a UNRWA school in May, IDF personnel found an extensive collection of terrorist weaponry.
Additionally, a total of 17 turbans were eliminated in a strike on a UNRWA school in June.
Controversies surrounding the UN agency have led to a number of countries pausing or ceasing to fund UNRWA. Most of the pause in funding came after UN Watch alleged that several UNRWA workers had actively participated in Hamas's October 7 attacks.
In UN Watch's investigation, the NGO revealed that a 3000-member Telegram group for UNRWA staff praised the attacks on October 7.

Can anyone translate this into declarative English sentences for elderly Luddites?
You can look up IP addresses your internet provider gives you to see where it is coming from and who owns it. Granted they could be telneting into another sever halfway around the world to thrown off their tracks so you never really know.
I think Dale's theory holds water, but I haven't dug into this enough to really see.

Frankly, I'm underwhelmed. too ala Branson - send a billionaire into space for the publicity instead of serious work. Yeah I know - space walk, real high. Still not doing it for me.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] An enraged passenger choked and attacked flight attendant in a chaotic mid-air meltdown after a weekend at Disneyland. Disneyland always does that to me too.
Charles Angel Salva, 30, of Fremont, has now been charged with interference with flight crew members and attendants following his actions, after appearing in court on Thursday. Among other peccadilloes...
On Monday, Salva was on board the Frontier Airlines Flight 3581 that departed John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana bound for San Francisco International Airport before he had his meltdown. "I'm melllllting!"
Just after the plane had taken off and remained under 10,000ft, flight attendants noticed that the oxygen masks in one row of the middle of the aircraft were out of the overhead compartment.
Authorities said when they began to investigate what was going on, they discovered Salva with his hand in the compartment while appearing claustrophobic and distressed.
A passenger told investigators that the man had pulled down the oxygen masks from the overhead holding area before his hand became lodged. "I need air! Air! My hand! It.... it's.... become lodged!"
He then chillingly began yelling 'We are all going to hell' and 'This plane is going down', according to court documents.
As Salva continued to unleash chaos, a flight attendant attempted to restrain him as he tried to grab other passengers, authorities said. "I'd grab you, you father mudger, if my hand wasn't lodged in tthis oxygen compartment!"
Salva then allegedly ran down the aisle towards the back of the plane before yanking a lanyard around a flight attendant's neck while saying: 'I'm going to choke this b****,' as he attempted to choke her.
Prosecutors added that the enraged man also shoved another flight attendant 'with force' and claimed he was going to kill everyone on the plane. "Piss off, fatty!"
"I ain't fat! Not that fat, anyway..."
Brave passengers tried to restrain Salva as he threw kicks - with one hitting the second flight attendant in the leg. "Ow! My leg!"
Due to the violent outburst, the flight was diverted to Ontario International Airport, California, where authorities boarded the plane and saw passengers pinning him down. "Clancy! Quick! The net! Muldoon! The horse tranquilizer! Mtubu! My elephant gun!"
Salva was apprehended at the airport and restrained with soft cuffs before being taken to a local hospital.
A passenger told officers that Salva had been flying back to San Francisco after spending a weekend at Disneyland with his three-year-old daughter. Oh, my gawd! Not a three year old!
But on Sunday, Salva left his toddler with the unnamed passenger and their family before disappearing, court documents revealed. "Ummm... What's your name, little girl?"
"Iodine, bub."
"Wuzzat yer daddy?"
"We think so."
He allegedly admitted to taking ecstacy before boarding the plane "It was just a snort..."
and reportedly told police 'I'm a child molester' and that he had molested his daughter multiple times before losing custody rights, reports Fox News. "I stopped when she gave me clap though..."
Salva now faces up to 20 years in federal prison with the FBI and the Ontario Police Department investigating the matter.

Ref. 14CFR91.11 - Interference with a required crew member: "No person may assault, threaten, intimidate, or interfere with a crewmember in the performance of the crewmember's duties aboard an aircraft being operated."
and
With this notice published in the Federal Register, the FAA is again advising the public of the FAA's June 1, 2011 interpretation of section 91.11 in an effort to increase awareness that: (1) Directing laser beams towards aircraft operating on the ground or in the air so that it interferes with a crewmember in the performance of the crewmember's duties is a violation of section 91.11; and, (2) persons violating section 91.11 are subject to a substantial civil penalty. (print page 76612)"
Mr. Salva, owing to his "status", will probably skate though.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Two people have been left dead and three were injured in a mass shooting before the gunman fled the scene in Virginia.
The five victims were shot near downtown Suffolk at around 11:25pm in the 800 block of East Washington Street, outside the HM White Bus Service garage.
According to a news release from local police, officers found multiple people with gun wounds when they arrived on the scene.
One adult male was pronounced dead at the site, while another died from his injuries at a local hospital.
Three other victims were transported to a local hospital and are currently receiving medical treatment for their wounds.
Suffolk cops spent hours overnight combing through the scene in their hunt for evidence but have not yet released any details of a possible suspect or motive in the case.
The names, ages of the victims, and the severity of their injuries have also not been released as police claim the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding the incident has been encouraged to contact Suffolk Police or Suffolk Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
It comes after a linebacker at Division II West Virginia State was fatally shot during what the university said Thursday is being investigated by police as a home invasion.
The body of Jyilek Zyiare Harrington, 21, of North Carolina, was found inside an apartment Wednesday night in Charleston, police Lieutenant Tony Hazelett said in a statement.

Have you heard of iptables? You put the spammer's ip address into the iptable and it's like a firewall. Any further queries that come from that ip address are dropped on the floor. In my working days I wrote a Perl script that was activated whenever a 404 Not Found error occurred. Apache had an option to trigger execution of the script. The script would examine the query and, if they were probing for vulnerabilities or otherwise not behaving properly, the script would automatically insert that ip address into the firewall. It got to be big fun to look at all the bad actors in the logs behaving badly and getting all of their subsequent queries dropped. But the logs ended up looking a helluva lot cleaner. Then it was fun to see what from countries the bad queries originated. China was number one, followed by Russia and then Ukraine. Countries like Romania and Malaysia were big too. Fun and games.

[FOX] ALPHARETTA, Ga. - A 21-year-old Milton man is accused of opening fire while riding a motorcycle through downtown Alpharetta, killing one person.
Jaden Lewis was arrested on Thursday afternoon and charged with murder and aggravated assault.
The Alpharetta Police Department released several images of the shooter riding a motorcycle wearing a black jacket with white patches, black pants, helmet, and gloves. In one image, he is seen pointing a gun. Police say the images of the suspect came from a witness's dash cam.
Justin Mourning, 46, was struck by that gunfire. He was taken to an area hospital, but he later died.
Police say they found multiple shell casings and spoke to several witnesses after the shooting. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument.
"It appears that this shooting incident escalated from an argument that occurred between the victim and a motorcycle operator," said Captain Andrew Splawn of the Alpharetta Police Department. "The altercation and incident occurred in the roadway."
SHOOTING IN ALPHARETTA SHAKES RESIDENTS
Wednesday night’s shooting happened in the normally quiet area of downtown Alphareta.
"We're just always disappointed when we hear about any kind of crime in the area and this is particularly bad," said Mark Bundy.
"It makes you a little uncomfortable, but it definitely makes you keep your guard up when you're out and about," said Lydia Tessfaye.
Detectives say shootings in downtown Alpharetta are not common.
"This incident is unusual," Spawn said. "Based on the argument that occurred before the shooting, we do believe that it's isolated."
Bundy has a son who works in the area and says this violence is upsetting.
"Anger was my first thought that I don't want that happening in my city," he said. "There's nothing going on that's worth dying for."
Mourning worked at Lumen Technologies. The company sent FOX 5 this statement: "We deeply mourn the tragic loss of a member of the Lumen family. We are doing what we can to comfort his family and those who worked with him."
[JustTheNews] The program helps low-performing recruits meet Army physical and academic standards
If they want it badly enough to do the hard and painful work needed to meet the standards necessary to do more hard and painful work…
Nearly 25,000 recruits have graduated from the Army's Future Solider Prep Course and become soldiers. The program, which started in 2022, helps low-performing recruits meet the Army's standards to attend basic training.
Run primarily out of Fort Jackson, South Carolina, the program helps new recruits improve when they do not meet the Army's physical or academic standards, Army Times reported.
The program provides recruits with up to 90 days of support to "learn how to sleep, how to take a test, to meet the standards of the Army that have not been lowered," said Gen. Gary Brito of Training and Doctrine Command.
Command Sgt. Maj. Raymond Harris, the command's senior enlisted soldier, also stressed that the Army had not lowered its standards.
"We met them where they're at and they meet our standard," Harris said. "We did not lower a single standard to bring a single recruit into our Army."

Back in the 50s and 60s, the Army actually had to engage in remedial instruction for many draftees who lack educational skills. Even in the 70s, I saw a platoon's worth of soldiers march off after PT/breakfast to attend GED classes on the installation I was on. By the 80s and 90s those disappeared as the service was able to attract enough qualified individuals as to end those programs. Gee, what has happened since then.

During Desert Shield/Storm they sent the division out of Georgia but without its National Guard round out brigade. Much politics followed. Finally, the Army decided that the brigade could go if it completed a rotation at Fort Irwin NTC. They failed the first one. Mother nature doesn't give a damn about your mobilization plans. Weekend training and two weeks in the summer didn't cut it for the physical requirements needed in combat. They finally passed the second rotation, just as things wrapped up in Kuwait. That was nearly 30 years ago and well before digital entertainment time ate into young people's daily life and when schools still had physical education curriculum.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] People who take Adderall may be at a much greater risk of having a mental breakdown, a study suggests.
Those with a prescription for the ADHD drug or other stimulants were over 60 percent more likely to suffer psychosis or mania than people not using the meds.
Stronger doses raised the risk further - people who took the max dose recommended by the FDA were at a fivefold higher likelihood.
The research looked at two groups of people who had a history of depression, anxiety or other mental health issues that put them at risk of psychosis.
Study author Lauren Moran, a researcher at Mass General Brigham, said: 'Our results show that it is clear that dose is a factor in psychosis risk and should be a chief consideration when prescribing stimulants.'

Dunno, has negative possibilities. Let's face it, almost everyone expected QueMala to choke and fall face-first into her word salad... but she didn't, for whatever reasons, so by some folks lights she "won" the debate. Now if Trump says "No Mas", the same folks will argue that he's scared "because she 'won' their first debate".

Seeing how things are turning out, I'd guess that anything other than inexcusable performance, the advertising strategy was always to declare Harris the winner, regardless because media framing, and ask for another round while crying chicken.

BLUF: Yes, the Haitians are reportedly eating pets and Canada geese in Springfield, Ohio, but in Canton, Ohio ‘twas a nutter that did the dirty deed.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Police in Ohio have released grisly footage of a crazed woman who allegedly stomped on a cat's head before feasting on the feline in full view of horrified witnesses.
Allexis Ferrell, 27, was found with 'fur on her lips and blood on her hands' when police were called by shocked neighbors in the town of Canton on August 16.
Authorities have now revealed bodycam video of the suspect after Donald Trump's extraordinary claim that Haitian migrants are killing and eating their neighbors' pets.
'Officers were able to determine that Allexis had smashed the cat's head with her foot and then began to eat the cat,' police wrote in their report.
The GOP candidate platformed rumors that Haitian newcomers in the town of Springfield have been feasting on its domestic animals. The claim electrified the presidential debate on Tuesday.
However, Ferrell - the only person known to have eaten a cat in the state recently - was identified as an American born woman in Canton, a town 170 miles away.
The bizarre footage opens seconds after police arrived to find a 'female squatting on a cat which appeared to have its head smashed in and the female with her hands on it'.
Ferrell is being held in the Stark County Jail on a charge of cruelty to companion animals, a fifth-degree felony.
She graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 2015 and has a lengthy criminal history, with previous charges including cocaine possession, receiving stolen property and endangering children.
'The suspect in this case is not a Haitian immigrant,' Canton police spokesperson Dennis Garren said. 'She is a lifelong Canton resident.'
Her bond has been set at $100,000 and she is due to face a competency hearing in front of Stark County Common Pleas Judge Frank G. Forchione on October 15. Sounds like an upstanding man!
She has entered a plea of not guilty due to insanity.

Reparations were paid 1861-5. On a rough calculation the 39,000 from NY were in a country that was 1/10th size it is today. So in modern projection that would be 390,000 in today's population.
#3
Anyone accepting reparations must forfeit their citizenship, forfeit all assets and property and never return to this country under pain of immediate summary execution and NO descendants of theirs may ever claim US citizenship.

Ohio’s population in 1860 was 2.3 million including 37,000 African American. 300,000 served in the Union forces, more than 10%. 35,475 Ohioans died, almost as many deaths as all US forces in the Korean Conflict. Based on the rural nature of Ohio, at the time, it is conceivable that half of the men that died never met an African American prior to their enlistment. The same ratios would likely hold for other states. They were an amazing generation.

[LI] Israel’s i24NEWS TV channel: "The facility is believed by experts to develop ballistic missiles and supply equipment to Hezbollah."
Israeli special forces carried out a daring raid on an Iranian missile facility in central Syria, Israeli media outlets reported Thursday, citing Middle East security expert Eva J. Koulouriotis.
"Israeli ground forces targeted an Iranian missile production facility in Syria during a strike this week attributed to Israel, according to Middle East expert Eva J. Koulouriotis, who specializes in jihadist groups and cited a security source," the Jerusalem Post reported Thursday.
The Iranian-run missile and chemical weapons production site, operated by the regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was located in the Syrian province of Hama — a few hundred miles from the Israeli border.
The alleged IDF raid, which apparently took place on Sunday night, hit a "research center in Masyaf, which has long been associated with the manufacture of chemical weapons and precision missiles by the Syrian regime and Iranian forces," The Times of Israel reported quoting Syrian sources.
Earlier this week, a Western news outlet reported ’several waves’ of alleged Israeli airstrikes in central Syria. They did not mention any ground operations by the Israeli troops during the aerial strikes.

[IsraelTimes] The United States supports creating two permanent United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... Security Council seats for African states and one seat to be rotated among small island developing states, US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield will announce today.
The move comes as the US seeks to repair ties with Africa, where many are unhappy about Washington’s support for Israel’s war against Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... in Gazoo, and deepen relations with Pacific Islands nations important to countering Chinese influence in the region.
Thomas-Greenfield tells Rooters she hopes the announcement will "move this agenda forward in a way that we can achieve Security Council reform at some point in the future," describing it as part of US President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant.... ’s legacy.
The push for two permanent African seats and a rotating seat for small island developing states is in addition to Washington’s long-held support for India, Japan and Germany to also get permanent seats on the council.

A man wearing a Palestinian pin is shot in the stomach after charging pro-Israel demonstrators in Newton, Massachusetts.
The assailant is seen across the street accusing a group of 10 protesters waving Israeli and American flags of “defending genocide” and giving them the middle finger, according to footage shared by The Daily Wire news site.
The man then charges across the street and tackles Scott Hayes, 47, an Iraq War veteran. Amid the tussle with protesters, the assailant is shot in the stomach by Hayes, the report says.
A second video shows Hayes giving medical treatment to the attacker, according to the report. The victim is suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
Though he legally had possession of the gun, Hayes is facing charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and violation of a constitutional right causing injury, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan tells The Daily Wire.

Ebbuger Whuque4103, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported this afternoon:
A GoFundMe fundraiser for Hayes’ defense identified him as a non-Jewish Iraq war veteran who was involved in Newton-area pro-Israel activities. It had raised more than $109,000 of a $180,000 target as of Friday afternoon. A statement on the fundraising page did not explicitly say Hayes shot the man, though it said he tried to help the shooting victim after the shot was fired.

Former adviser to Bill & Hillary Clinton Mark Penn says ABC needs to launch an investigation to search for an effort of "rigging the outcome" of the debate.

@jsolomonReports
"I don't know what they told the Harris campaign."
"I think the day after, suspicion here is really quite high, and I think a review of all their internal texts and emails really should be done by an independent party to find out to what extent they were planning on, in effect, you know, fact-checking just one candidate and in effect, rigging the outcome of this debate."

Kamala had the questions, likely their order, and rehearsed the answers. She had ear communication for instruction's while Trump was talking. Kamala was also not challenged by the moderators, while Trump, who didn’t have the questions was challenged.
Biden also likely had all the same stuff for his “debate.” The fact that Joe could not perform to script with those advantages demonstrates how far he is gone. He is totally non-functional. His staff, all leaders foreign and domestic and his family were all aware of Joe’s condition. Yet, he is still president.

[Regnum] Ukrainian emissaries are in Syrian Idlib, where they are recruiting militants from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation), Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on September 12.
“There is now information circulating that Ukrainian emissaries, emissaries of Ukrainian intelligence are in the Idlib de-escalation zone on the territory of the SAR, where they are recruiting militants… “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... ,” the diplomat said at an embassy round table on the topic of settling the situation around Ukraine.
According to him, the militants are being recruited in order to use them in “their new planned vile operations.” At the same time, the Ukrainian special services are also interested in other regions, Lavrov added.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on September 10, the Turkish newspaper Aydinlik, citing sources, reported that Ukraine held talks with representatives of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in Syria to attract militants to operations against Russia.
According to local sources, the Ukrainian delegation called on the terrorists to release radical Chechen and Georgian militants held in the terrorist prison, offering 75 unmanned aerial vehicles in exchange for their release.

I seem to recall that Turkey has been supplying Russia with cannon fodder from their Syrian paramilitaries for a year or so, some retrieved from twiddling their thumbs in Libya. That lot are former ISIS, former Al Qaeda, and former Muslim Brotherhooders — so Ukraine’s recruits are just a variation on the theme.

[CollegeFix] A watchdog organization recently released a “Hate Map” highlighting hate both directed at and originating from colleges and universities, among other locations, particularly showcasing liberal hostility toward conservatives.
The New Tolerance Campaign’s Hate Map is an interactive tool that shows the geographic location of instances of politically motivated hate on campuses around the country. It lists 201 organizations or individuals that have engaged in “hard left extremism.”
The map is intended to counter the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hate Map that claims to show hate from conservatives directed at liberals, according to the group.
The campaign states the organizations listed in the map have “promoted, inspired, or directly engaged in physical violence against those with whom they disagree.”
Some of the organizations include “Radical LGBTQ Activists & Groups,” “Antisemitic Organizations & Individuals,” “Environmentalist & Animal Rights Groups,” “Rogue Non-Profits and Individuals,” and “Left-Wing Extremist Groups,” among others.
“The current list includes groups represented on 17 separate university campuses,” said Gregory Angelo, the New Tolerance Campaign president, in a recent email interview with The College Fix.
“Most of the student groups represented on HateMap.com at this moment fall into the category of extreme antisemitic rhetoric and assault against Jewish students, but we are monitoring leftist hate against people of all faiths,” said Angelo.

[BBC] Malaysian police have rescued 402 children and teenagers that they suspect were physically and sexually abused across 20 care homes.
The victims, aged between one to 17, were said to have endured various forms of abuse, with some allegedly forced to perform sexual acts on other children, said Police Inspector-General Razarudin Husain at a press conference.
Police have arrested 171 suspects, including religious teachers and caretakers.
The care homes are allegedly linked to a prominent Islamic conglomerate which has issued a statement denying any wrongdoing.
Police raids on Wednesday across 20 welfare homes in the states of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan were prompted by reports earlier this month of child exploitation, molestation and sexual abuse at another facility in Negeri Sembilan state.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Insp Razarudin told reporters that some of the suspects - aged between 17 to 64 - would allegedly touch the children, claiming it was part of a religious treatment. Some children were also reportedly taught to perform similar sexual acts on other children at the home.
Children were also "punished using heated metal objects" and those who were ill were not allowed to seek medical treatment until their condition turned critical, he added.
The children will be temporarily housed at a police centre in the capital Kuala Lumpur and will undergo health checks, said Insp Razarudin.
Initial investigations found that many children were placed in these homes by their parents so they could undergo religious education, according to state news agency Bernama.
Madrassas. Got it.
The raids come days after police opened an investigation against the Islamic Global Ikhwan Group (GISB) business group
…any connection to the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Ikhwan?
over child exploitation. The police has since confirmed that the two cases are linked.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said initial investigations have revealed that GISB's modus operandi is to set up welfare homes to collection donations, said a report by the New Straits Times.
The group denied the allegations in a statement posted to Facebook on Wednesday.
"The company will not compromise with any activity that goes against the law, particularly regarding the exploitation of children," it said.
GISB has hundreds of businesses across 20 countries, operating across sectors from hospitality, to food, to education.
Sounds like an evil version of the Gulenist schools. Benar News adds:
They were rescued during a nationwide police operation Wednesday from homes linked to the banned al-Arqam sect, Malaysian officials said.
Malaysian religious authorities have accused al-Arqam of promoting deviant Islamic teachings.
Splitters!!
Razarudin Husain, Malaysia’s police inspector general, identified six key suspects including a female religious teacher and five males in supervisory roles, as among those detained.
He said many of the children were coerced into soliciting donations under the guise of Widows & Orphans Ammunition Fund.
GISBH has been tied to the al-Arqam sect. Malaysian authorities have alleged that the sect promoted deviant Islamic teachings, including the veneration of its founder, Ashaari Muhammad, as a quasi-divine figure. Although banned in 1994, al-Arqam’s followers are believed to have continued their activities underground, often rebranding under different names.
Razarudin told news hounds that many of the rescued children were not orphans, as previously claimed, but were the children of GISBH members who were placed in these homes as part of indoctrination efforts.
"From what we’ve gathered, the modus operandi of GISBH was to exploit these children for financial gain while indoctrinating them with deviant religious teachings," Razarudin said, calling the group’s use of religious sentiment to gain public sympathy "particularly insidious."
Misconduct allegations have dogged GISBH for years — since 2011, over 40 complaints have been lodged against it, according to police records.
Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, a little lightbulb figuratively appeared over Bossy's head... Ahmad Fauzi Abdul Hamid, a political science professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia who has written extensively on al-Arqam, questioned the targeting of GISBH.
Ahmad Fauzi said that while the sect had been proven to promote deviant teachings, GISBH may not be directly linked to it.
"Global Ikhwan is not really from Darul Arqam but rather an intersection from Rufaqa, a splinter group," Ahmad Fauzi told BenarNews, using another name for al-Arqam.
He acknowledged that while some individual members may continue to follow the old teachings, GISBH agreed in 2013 to abandon those practices as part of an agreement with the government.
"If some members are still adhering to the old ways, then it’s appropriate for the government to take action," he said.
[FoxNews] New York City Police Commissioner Edward Caban had been pressured to resign for days
New York City Police Commissioner Edward Caban has resigned days after federal agents raided his home, his brother's and that of other city officials and seized their electronic devices.
In a resignation letter shared with Fox News, Caban wrote that rank and file officers deserved leadership without distractions.
"I have therefore decided it is in the best interest of the Department that I resign as Commissioner," he told Fox News Digital in a statement through his attorneys. "After 30 years of service to this city, I hold immense respect and gratitude for its brave officers, and must put their interests before my own. I believe firmly in the vital role of leaders with integrity, who, by example, demonstrate the difference between right and wrong every day. I will continue to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation."
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said during an early afternoon news briefing that he had accepted Caban's resignation, which came about 14 months after his predecessor also resigned from the department.
"This is the best decision at this time," Adams said. "I respect his decision and I wish him well."
In a statement, Caban's attorneys Russell Capone and Rebekah Donaleski told Fox News Digital that the former commissioner had made the safety of New Yorkers his life's work and that he is not the target of the federal probe.
"We have been informed by the government that he is not a target of any investigation being conducted by the Southern District of New York, and he expects to cooperate fully with the government," they said.
Other people in Adams' orbit have also been swept up in the federal investigation.
Sources told Fox News Digital that Caban's twin brother, James, was also under investigation in connection with his nightlife consulting business.
Rumors of a pending resignation have swirled for days in connection with the Caban raids. Federal agents served warrants on three other high-ranking Adams aides on the same day — First Deputy Mayor Sheena Right, Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks III and Timoth Pearson, a former NYPD official turned mayoral adviser.
Last year, federal agents seized Adams' devices as he was leaving an event in Manhattan and raided the home of one of his top fundraisers. Adams has denied any wrongdoing, but confirmed last month he had received a subpoena from federal prosecutors and said he and his team are cooperating.
Adams told reporters little Tuesday in response to repeated questions about Caban's fitness for the job or whether he should resign, but said he had full confidence in the NYPD as a whole.
Aaaaand, the buried lede:
The New York Post reported Wednesday that one of Caban's top aides has suspected ties to the Chinese Communist Party and worked for a group that spreads Chinese propaganda in the U.S. It's the latest in a string of China-linked officials in New York politics.
Last month, prosecutors secured an indictment for Linda Sun, a former top aide to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who is accused of being a Communist agent, visa fraud, alien smuggling and money laundering.
Winnie Greco, another Adams aide, was also raided in connection with a campaign fundraising investigation.
Adams appointed Caban as the NYPD's first Hispanic commissioner in July 2023.
He has been replaced by Interim Commissioner Tom Donlon, a retired FBI agent who previously led the National Threat Center and oversaw the Terrorism Watch List.

[Regnum] Saint Prince Alexander Nevsky is the guardian of Russian statehood and the savior of the Russian ethnic group. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin on September 12, after visiting the Annunciation Church in the Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
It is curious that it was to Alexander Nevsky that Tsar Peter I dedicated the first monastery, founded in a new place, on the site of the future capital, the head of state noted during a conversation with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
“It is no coincidence, because he is the guardian of Russian statehood and, in essence, the savior of the Russian ethnic group, without any exaggeration,” Putin said.
Nevsky's relations with the Golden Horde created the conditions for preserving Russian identity, the Russian leader added.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on September 12, Putin and Patriarch Kirill arrived at the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra to mark the 300th anniversary of the transfer of the relics of Alexander Nevsky to St. Petersburg.

[KavkazUzel] The defense of those convicted in the case of riots at the Makhachkala airport appealed the verdict of the Armavir City Court to the appellate court.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," the Armavir City Court sentenced the defendants in the case of the riots at the Makhachkala airport Anvarbek Atayev, Islam Ibragimov, Magomed Omaraskhabov, Rabadan Radzhabov and Salik Ramazanov to terms ranging from six years, four months to nine years. The court issued a harsh sentence, having no evidence of the defendants' guilt; the sentence will be appealed, the lawyers and relatives of the convicted stated.
On October 29, 2023, mass riots occurred at the Makhachkala airport due to the announcement of the arrival of a plane with passengers from Israel. More than 20 people were injured in the riots, 140 people are in custody, 1,200 people were brought to administrative responsibility. The accused claim that they were at the airport, but did not take part in the riots,
“Wudn’t us…”
noted the chairman of the Public Monitoring Commission of Dagestan Shamil Khadulaev on June 13.
Why, then, were they at the airport in the middle of a riot intended to be a pogrom?
What happened at the Uytash airport and how the investigation is going is described in the "Caucasian Knot" report "The case of the pogrom at the Makhachkala airport".
Five people convicted in the case of participation in mass riots that took place on October 29, 2023, at the Uytash International Airport have appealed the verdict of the Armavir City Court, RBK reported.
As follows from the data in the case file on the court’s website, the appeal was registered with the court on August 29, 2024 and accepted for consideration.
The time frame for consideration of the appeal is still unknown - as of 17:58 Moscow time, the website of the Krasnodar Regional Court does not contain information about the case being received by the court.
It should also be noted that on February 17, relatives of the participants in the riots at the Makhachkala airport appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request for leniency.
On July 19, the Prosecutor General's Office reported that courts in the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories would begin hearing other criminal cases on the riots at the Makhachkala airport; in particular, one of the cases was submitted to the Ust-Labinsk District Court. The driver, Magomed Irbeynov, whose case is being heard in Ust-Labinsk, partially admitted guilt, emphasizing that he was at the Makhachkala airport but did not take part in the riots. Irbeynov's words are confirmed by video recordings, his lawyer said. Adil Abdullaev, Budun Budunov, Gamzat Gamzatov, Kurban Ibragimov, Gasan-Guseyn Magomedov, Magomed Omalaev, and Mukhammadrasul Shakhbanov are also involved in this case.

Blinken issued a similar same waiver on the human rights conditions last year but withheld a portion of the military aid over Egypt’s failure to make "clear and consistent progress" on the release of political prisoners.
This year, Blinken determined that Egypt had made sufficient efforts on political prisoners to release $95 million tied to progress on the issue, the spokesperson said.

[IsraelTimes] Noguchi Museum frets emblem of Palestinian solidarity could ‘alienate segments’ of visitors’; one fired attendant accuses institute of ‘weaponizing’ rules against cause
New York City’s Noguchi Museum said on Wednesday it fired three employees after they violated its updated dress code by wearing keffiyeh head scarves, which have become an emblem of solidarity with the Paleostinian cause.

The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... , some demonstrators have worn the black-and-white keffiyeh head scarf as a show of solidarity with Paleostinians. Israel’s supporters say it is provocative and a sign of backing extremism.
Last month, the art museum — founded by Japanese American sculptor Isamu Noguchi — announced a policy prohibiting employees from wearing anything that expressed "political messages, slogans or symbols."
"While we understand that the intention behind wearing this garment was to express personal views, we recognize that such expressions can unintentionally alienate segments of our diverse visitorship," it said in a statement.
Natalie Cappellini, one of the three gallery attendants who was fired, took to Instagram to say the museum leadership was weaponizing the term "political" against the Paleostinian cause.
Rooters was unable to reach the other two fired employees.
The keffiyeh has long been a symbol of Paleostinian nationalism, exemplified by the late Paleostine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat, who was rarely photographed without one.
There are previous instances in the United States of people losing jobs due to action they took over their stance on the Israel-Hamas war.
A New York City hospital fired a Paleostinian American nurse in May after she called Israel’s actions in Gaza a "genocide" during an acceptance speech for an award.
[IsraelTimes] The former head of an Islamic centre in Germany banned for its alleged links to bad boy and terror groups has left the country after being served with a deportation order, local authorities say.
Mohammad Hadi Mofatteh, who was the head of the Hamburg Islamic Centre before it was banned in July, left Germany on Tuesday evening, the Hamburg interior ministry says in a statement.
Mofatteh, 57, had been ordered two weeks ago to leave Germany or face being deported at his own expense.
He will not be allowed to re-enter Germany for 20 years and could face up to three years in prison if he does, the ministry says.
Andy Grote, interior minister for the state of Hamburg, describes Mofatteh as "one of Germany’s most prominent Islamists."
"We will continue to take a tough line against Islamists with all legal means at our disposal," he says in a statement.

The father of the Ottoman Turkish-American activist fatally shot in the West Bank on Thursday welcomed The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... ’s decision to initiate an investigation into her death and called on the United States to do the same.
Aysenur Ezgi Eygi
…age 26, activist with the International Solidarity Movement, which hosts far-left activists from around the world to provide human shields for violent PLO protests against Israel…
who held Ottoman Turkish and American citizenship, was killed last Friday during demonstrations against settlements in the West Bank. A witness who was there, Israeli protester Jonathan Pollak, said she posed no threat to Israeli forces and that the shooting came during a moment of calm, following festivities between stone-throwing protesters and Israeli troops firing tear gas and bullets.
The Israel Defense Forces said this week in a preliminary report that Eygi was "with high probability" fatally hit by IDF troops’ mistaken gunfire, while expressing regret for the killing.
Turkey’s Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc announced Thursday that Turkey had launched its own investigation into her death days.
Mehmet Suat Eygi, who is based in Seattle but spoke in western Turkey, said he was very happy to learn that Turkey had opened an investigation into what he called the "arbitrary murder" of his daughter.
"I hope that the American government does the same," he said.
He said his daughter was 10 months old when the family left Turkey for the United States. "She studied in the schools there, she grew up with freedoms there. She is a citizen of that country," he said. "I hope the American government will show the same sensitivity."
He was speaking in the Aegean coastal town of Didim, where Eygi used to come for vacations and spend time with family members — and where she is expected to be buried. Eygi’s grandfather’s home and the street where the house is located was adorned with Ottoman Turkish flags — an honor usually bestowed to Ottoman Turkish soldiers killed in conflict.
The Ankara chief prosecutor’s office was leading the Ottoman Turkish probe, Tunc said, adding that Turkey would seek international arrest warrants for those responsible for her death. He also said Turkey would present findings to a UN court overseeing a genocide case against Israel filed by South Africa over the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... sparked by Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... ’s October 7 attack. The charges in the case are rejected by both Israel and the US.
"We will take every judicial step for our martyred daughter, Aysenur," Tunc said.
Mehmet Suat Eygi said his daughter was a "special person" who cared about nature and human rights ...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions... and traveled to Brazil, Australia and Mexico to campaign for environmental and human rights issues.
And world peace. It’s a requirement to add caring about world peace if you’re pretending to be a true humanitarian, as opposed to a cause junkie or a jihad tourist.
Eygi, who attended Seattle schools and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in psychology this year, was married and was financially comfortable, her father said. "She could have enjoyed a comfortable life, but she pursued her ideals. She left everything and went to the hell of the Middle East. She was that idealistic," Eygi said.
Another relative, Ali Tikkin, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that Eygi’s family believes she was deliberately targeted by Israeli soldiers.
"There was no error or accident," he said. "I think it was a message to the world."
Tikkin, who is married to Eygi’s aunt, described the activist as a "free-spirited person" who began traveling the world on her own at an early age.
"Even at the age of 18 or 19, she went to different countries of the world on her own. First she started traveling out of curiosity. Later she took part in organizations by the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... ," he said. "She was sensitive to events happening around the world."
A statement released by the Paleostinian Authority’s Ministry of Justice and signed by two forensic doctors said Eygi was brought to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, in the West Bank, after she was hit with a bullet fired by the Israeli army. The young woman had no signs of life as her heart was not beating, the statement said, adding that the bullet entered from behind the left ear causing damage to the brain.
I would love to know if it is the same kind of bullet used by the IDF, or something else. But I don’t imagine the PA will share.
Medical staff tried for a sixth time to reactivate her heart with no luck and she was considered dead at 2:36 p.m. on Friday. The statement said the bullet damaged the brain and the skull and different shrapnel caused tears and bruises.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Thursday that the Biden administration was aware of outside analyses saying that Ezgi Eygi was shot 20 minutes after the festivities ended, raising questions about the Israeli military’s role in her death. "This awful, awful killing never should have happened," said Jean-Pierre, but declined to say whether the administration was satisfied by the initial investigation by the Israel Defense Forces.
Ottoman Turkish Foreign Ministry officials said Eygi’s body was expected to be flown from Tel Aviv to Baku, Azerbaijan and arrive in Turkey on Friday. Burial was likely to take place on Saturday.

That’s why they had something like a dozen busses lined up afterward to get them home. The question is whether they were paid the traditional shot of whiskey for their participation, or something else.

Some of them will be union higher ups. They are likely obligated to go or they lose their position. No pay necessary. The others are likely paid in cash and won’t claim it as income. That is my speculation.

[IsraelTimes] In a rare admission, the IDF says it carried out two dronezaps in southern Syria today, targeting a Hezbollah operative and another Iran-linked terrorist.
The military says the first strike, in the Quneitra area, killed Ahmed al-Jaber, a member of Hezbollah’s so-called Golan File unit.
Another strike, in the al-Rafid area, targeted a "terrorist who advanced terror acts against the State of Israel, and acted with the cooperation and direction of Iran." the IDF says.
Meanwhile,
...back at the desert island, Bert was realizing to his horror that he'd had only one bottle for one message, and he'd forgotten to include a return address... the military says several explosive-laden drones were launched from Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... at northern Israel today, impacting near the Keren Naftali area.
Also today, some 15 rockets were fired from Lebanon at the Western Galilee.
[IsraelTimes] Activists claiming to be Jewish artists chant anti-Israel slogans, hold banners accusing Israel of genocide, as audience responds with ‘Bring them home’ before screening of ‘Hemda’
Anti-Israel, pro-Paleostinian demonstrators on Tuesday burst onto the stage at a Toronto theater before the screening of the Israeli film "Hemda" (Bliss), accusing the Jewish state of committing genocide against the Paleostinians.
A group of activists claiming to be a coalition of Jewish filmmakers and artists
...but were probably none of the above...came into the auditorium holding banners reading, "This film is funded by a state committing genocide of Paleostinians," and "Jews say no to genocide."
Protesters chanted "Free Paleostine," and "From the river to the sea, Paleostine will be free," as attendees of the Toronto International Film Festival event urged their removal and chanted "Bring them home" in reference to the hostages kidnapped by Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... on October 7.
"There will be no platform for the Israeli state committing genocide against Paleostinians," one of the protesters said on stage, as the crowd jeered in response.
Outside the theater, dozens of activists wearing keffiyehs and holding Paleostinian flags also held a demonstration,
…grimacing and shouting more illogical, ahistoric vicious nonsense.
Shemi Zarhin, the film’s director, told Channel 12 news that eventually "the wretched horror show finished and the movie started and went on calmly and beautifully."
He described having to enter the theater through the back entrance to avoid protesters out front, and that he sat with actor Sasson Gabai with guards outside the auditorium during the film.
"We didn’t see the protest going on outside, but we heard it. It was very vocal. The festival manager himself came to thank us for our courage," he said, adding that he was very moved when the crowd responded to protesters with chants of "Bring them home."
After the protesters were removed from the hall, he said that those outside were also removed at the beginning of the screening.
"The crowd responded amazingly. The participation of the film in the festival became one of the day’s conversations," he added.
Last week, anti-Israel protesters also disrupted the opening night screening at the TIFF, chanting "Stop the genocide!" during opening remarks.

20:03 The Times writes that the US may allow Ukraine to use British and French long-range missiles for strikes deep into Russia, but not American ones.
19:42 Putin stated that if Ukraine starts using Western long-range precision weapons against the Russian Federation, this will mean direct participation of NATO countries in the war: "This will mean that the US, NATO and European countries are directly fighting Russia, which already significantly changes the very essence, the nature of the conflict. And if this is so, we will make appropriate decisions."
Putin claims that Ukraine itself, without the help of NATO countries, is “not capable” of carrying out strikes with modern, long-range, high-precision weapons; this is supposedly only possible with the use of intelligence data from satellites, which Kyiv does not have.

"It would probably look something like the current demarcation line between Russia and Ukraine. It would be like a demilitarized zone that would be heavily fortified so that the Russians wouldn't invade again," he explained.
At the same time, Ukraine, according to Vance, will retain its sovereignty, but will undertake to maintain neutrality, refusing to join NATO and other military-political alliances. And Germany and other European countries will have to take financial responsibility for the restoration of Ukraine, Vance added.
17:19 The West is limiting Kiev in long-range missile strikes not only on the territory of the Russian Federation, but also on the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russians, Le Monde writes, citing its sources. According to them, "several mistakes" by the Ukrainian Armed Forces have made the West more cautious. In particular, this concerns the June strike on a military base where Russian "early warning" radars are located - part of the Russian nuclear program. And I told Lula, and we conveyed to the Chinese side: Let's sit down together, let's talk together. You are not our enemies, we are not your enemies. Why did you suddenly decide that you should take Russia's side or be somewhere in the middle?"
Zelensky is also convinced that the Chinese-Brazilian "peace plan" was agreed upon with Moscow in advance. The president called the Brazilian government pro-Russian and called on it to do more to support Ukraine.
12:42 Peskov again stated that Moscow will "respond appropriately" to Kiev's permission to strike deep into Russian territory. He also admitted that Ukraine will try to strike social facilities when attacking Russia.
In turn, Lavrov stated that Moscow "has no doubt" that the decision to lift restrictions for Kyiv on the use of long-range missiles on Russian territory was made long ago, "now they are trying to formalize it beautifully." The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also once again stated that Russia allegedly wants to end the war, but the West "is not ready for honest diplomacy."

At the same time, analysts do not see any signs that the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Ukrainsk (southeast of Pokrovsk) are under threat of encirclement. The Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState also reports that Russian troops have occupied Lisovka, and have also advanced near Lisovka, Kleshcheyevka, Nevelskoye, Ukrainsk and the surrounding areas.
[National Pulse] Anti-Russia warmonger and recent Biden-Harris official Victoria Nuland has admitted that Ukraine and Russia were approaching a peace deal in 2022 but that the United States blocked the deal, claiming it was unfair to Ukraine.
Nuland was questioned about claims first reported by Raheem Kassam, Editor-in-Chief of The National Pulse, suggesting that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had encouraged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to reject a potential peace deal with Moscow in 2022.
This was later confirmed by Russian President Vladimir Putin during an interview with Tucker Carlson earlier this year.
Nuland explained that foreign leaders involved in the negotiations believed the parties were close to reaching an agreement. However, the terms of the proposed deal, especially those regarding military constraints on Ukraine but not on Russia, were an issue for Western powers.
"Putin’s main condition was buried in an annex," she said, referring to restrictions on Ukraine’s future military capabilities while similar limits were not imposed on the Russian military.
She admitted, "People inside Ukraine and people outside Ukraine started asking questions about whether this was a good deal, and it was at that point that it fell apart."
"Russia wasn’t required to pull back... wasn’t required to have the same constraints on its military facing Ukraine," she stated.
The peace deal aimed to establish Ukraine as a permanently neutral and non-nuclear state that would not join military alliances like NATO or host foreign military bases.
Nuland’s admissions highlight that Western powers were concerned with ensuring Russia remained weakened, even at the expense of immediate peace.
Since 2022 attempted peace negotiations, estimates claim as many as hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian and Russian troops have been killed in the conflict.
Senator Blumenthal (D-Conn) just came out and said:
"I think the American people are going to be shocked, astonished & appalled by what we will report to them about the failures by the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former President."

It's too easy, way too convenient, for the Secret Service to claim it was a failure.
"Oops! We're sorry."
"Bullshit. Trump's not dead. That was your failure."

[Regnum] On the evening of September 12, a magnetic storm of level G2 began on Earth. Then it increased to level G3. This was reported by the solar astronomy laboratory of the IKI and ISTP RAS.
G1 storms are considered to be the weakest, while G3 storms are strong storms that cause disruptions to satellite navigation and radio communications.
The geomagnetic situation began to change at about 06:00 Moscow time. The solar wind speed increased sharply from 350 to 450 km/s. Around midday, the solar wind was already blowing at a speed of 530 km/s and a weak magnetic storm began, then its level increased to G3.
As reported by IA Regnum, earlier scientists predicted with almost 100% probability that a new plasma cloud would hit the Earth on September 12. Calculations showed the arrival of solar matter around 22:00 Moscow time. The peak of the storm is expected at 03:00 - 04:00 Moscow time, when the dense core of the cloud reaches the planet. A high probability of polar lights, including in mid-latitudes, cannot be ruled out.

P2K...I'm offended that you over generalize the laziness of the male of the species. I religiously take out the garbage every year! Speaking of male, do trans pseudo-males exhibit this tendency or is it strictly an XY thing?
Conclusion: This paper gives... strongly statistically significant, evidence for a high correlation between large worldwide earthquakes and the proton density near the magnetosphere, due to the solar wind.
Someone had improved the standard vaccine used by WHO, which made it only partially effective. And that led to the polio virus mutating. So even though there’d been a vaccine campaign as recently as January, all those vaccinated last time had to be vaccinated again. Hopefully this time they used something actually better.
[IsraelTimes] During major attack by jets earlier this week, commandos said to have rappeled from helicopters to capture Iranians and remove materials before destroying site
Israeli special forces carried out a raid on an Iranian weapons facility in the Masyaf area in Syria earlier this week, according to a number of unconfirmed reports on Wednesday widely reported by Hebrew media.
A series of previously reported alleged Israeli strikes hit military sites in central Syria late Sunday, killing at least 14 people, wounding 43, and sparking fires. Local Syrian media reported at the time that the strikes hit a scientific research center in Masyaf, which has long been associated with the manufacture of chemical weapons
...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented... and precision missiles by the Syrian regime and Iranian forces.
However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything... the fresh reports were the first to claim that Israeli troops operated on the ground during the action at Masyaf, which lies about 200 kilometers (124 miles) north of Israel, though only about 30 kilometers (18 miles) from Syria’s western coastline.
The opposition Syria TV network, based in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... , reported that Israeli helicopters did not land on Syrian soil, but instead hovered as special forces rappelled down ropes.
The report said there were violent mostly peacefulfestivities in which three Syrians were killed, and two to four Iranians were captured. The report did not give details as to what happened to the Iranians.
The outlet additionally said that a Russian communications center was among the sites targeted as part of the operation.
Sources told the outlet that Syrian air defenses had been weakened by recent Israeli attacks, preventing them from foiling the Sunday assault, and that Syria has established a high-level commission of inquiry into the incident.
Separately, Middle East researcher Eva J. Koulouriotis said she was told by a "security source" that the IDF operation had targeted an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facility for the development of ballistic missiles and drones that also provided logistical support to Hezbollah.
In a series of posts to X, Koulouriotis said roads surrounding the facility were targeted with Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s to stop Syrian troops from reaching the area, before the Israeli helicopters carrying special forces approached, with air support from combat helicopters and drones.
She said Israeli troops entered the compound, removed equipment and documents, and then laid explosives to destroy the facility.
The US-government-owned Al Hurra network reported that the raid targeted several sites in the Masyaf area and that their intensity and the corpse count were "unusual."
The Masyaf area, west of Hama, is thought to be used as a base for Iranian forces and pro-Iranian militias and has been repeatedly targeted in recent years in attacks widely attributed to Israel.
It contains the Scientific Studies and Research Center, known as CERS or SSRC, which according to Israel is used by Iranian forces to manufacture precision surface-to-surface missiles.
Western officials have long associated CERS with the manufacture of chemical arms. According to the United States, sarin gas has been developed at that center, a charge denied by the Syrian authorities.
There was no comment on the strike from Israel, which rarely acknowledges individual operations in Syria.
Israel has been carrying out airstrikes inside Syria since the outbreak of that country’s civil war in 2011, mainly targeting attempts to transfer weapons to the Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah terror group or to keep Iranian fighters themselves from gaining a foothold near Israel’s border.
Since Hamas ..one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,... ’s brutal October 7 massacre, Israel has escalated its strikes on Iranian-backed terror targets in Syria and has also struck Syrian army air defenses and some Syrian forces.
Hezbollah has been exchanging near-daily fire with Israel since it started launching attacks from Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. From an Israeli poster named David who posts in CTH directly from Israel and offers local open-source material:" September 13, 2024 1:36 am
Israel Update:
This is a different kind of report as I will cover only one important subject. A confidential operation that took place yesterday and was not published by the IDF and the second part will be an explanation of the Unit that most likely performed the operation. I have to say that we don’t know for sure which unit did the operation but this kind of operation is only the job and specialty of this unit.
The Unit is called Sayeret Matkal (translated to : General Staff Reconnaissance Unit) or simply “The Unit”.
While it’s hard to have precision report on something like this, I did collect the most credible information from foreign and local sources:
-A highly confidential daring and possibly historic Special Forces Operation took place in Syria around Hama city that is about 200 miles from Israel. This was not reported in Israel, it was reported by foreign outlets related to the Syrian Opposition. Israeli media is relating to it as “foreign sources reports” and give additional information as to what was attacked.
In Syria there is a project that is called “Institute 4000”. It is a number of centers that research and manufacture precision missiles and means to make missiles precise.
Also they manufacture Ballistic missiles and drones. This over the years was taken over by Iran and is a joint operation of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard (The Iranian branch that operates outside of Iran) and Syria.
There are experts from Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and even North Korea working there.
Iran used it in order to be closer to Lebanon and so to be able to transport technologies and missiles and drones to Hezbollah in Lebanon with less chances of Israeli
interference/attacks.
Israel attacked from the air some of the facilities but never managed to put an end to this project. This is related to Hezbollah having precision missiles that cat hit strategic targets in Israel. The one that was now attacked by Special Forces is considered as the “heart of the project” and was an underground facility.
The operation had a few stages:
1. bombardment of the area and the transportation routs to the area.
2. Special Forces came down by ropes from helicopters.
3. At this time attack helicopters secured the area in which the Special Forces worked.
4. The Special Force entered the facilities and killed and injured a few who opposed (possibly also captured one or two but this is not certain).
5. Special Forces took equipment and documents.
6. They planted bombs in the facilities and demolished it.
7. The Forces returned to Israel (no known Israeli casualties).
By the nature of this operation I can conclude that the force involved is Sayeret Matkal.
Sayeren Matkal is the premier Special Force of the IDF and they are specializing in deep operations in enemy territory and recovering vital Intel and assassinating or kidnapping main enemies. This is as high risk operation which tells me that the rewards were worth it to be able to approve the operation.
–About Sayeret Matkal:
I will explain and at the end will add a little personal story of my experience with them.
The Unit is Highly confidential. Almost all the You Tube Videos about it are not actually them. There are maybe a couple of minutes of actual footage and is completely obscure or very old. This Elite Unit is also called :”The Unit”. It is similar to the American Delta Force and the British SAS. It has the same motto as the British SAS: “Who dares wins”.
Its warriors are dressed like Paratroopers and do the Paratrooper’s’ basic training at the beginning. While they do have a symbol they are not dressed with it so you can’t identify them. They work very close with the Mossad and are very good at dressing like enemy forces or enemy civilians. Very few of their operations are published mainly those which had a mess up or those that were very significant.
Sayeret Matkal is designed to collect Intel inside enemy territory, to assassinate enemies of Israel outside of Israel, to kidnap important enemies and to perform hostage rescue operations outside of Israel.
Sayeret Matkal “produced” some of the leaders of Israel like
Netanyahu (was and Officer and his brother killed in duty as a high commander of this Unit),
Ehud Barak (Prior Prime Minister was a high commander in this Unit), Shaul Mofaz (Ex-Defense Minister came form Sayeret Matkal), Naftali Benett (previous previous Prime Minister of Israel from a few years ago was an Officer of Matkal), Yair Yaalon (Former Defense Minister) and more…
Some known operations :
The hostage rescue called Operation Entebbe, the legendary hostage rescue from Entebbe Uganda where they landed and arrived in vehicles that imitated the vehicle of the leader of Uganda and his protection vehicles and rescued 102 hostages. In this operation Yoni Netanyahu the brother of Bibi was killed.
Operation Outside the Box: 2004, before Israel attacked from the air the Syrian Nuclear reactor that was a Syrian North Korean project, Matkal went deep into Syria and brought soil samples from near the reactor to confirm that its not yet operations so there won’t be a disaster when its attacked. Following this operation the reactor was attacked from the air.
The Syrian boss of this project was shortly later shot at the head by a sniper, from the sea, at his vacation apartment by the beach in Syria.
Operation Spring of Youth: April 1973, There were a few targets. Matkal took the target of eliminating the Deputy of Yassar Arafat the PLO (terror organization) and two other leaders of this organization. The Deputy was Muhammad Abu Youssef who was a mastermind of the Munich Olympics Massacre and was on the Mossad’s hit list. The people who were assassinated lived in two seven stories buildings.
In different locations. The Matkal team which included future Prime Minsiter (Ehud Barak) and Netanyahu’s Brother Yoni, arrived from the sea, Mossad waited for them with vehicles and took them to the area, they approached as a few couples “going to a party”, half dressed as women with skirts and wigs. They managed to approach, kill guards, expose the doors, kill the three leaders simultaneously and get back to sea. Intel came from Mossad and the work was done by Matkal.
Operation Presentation of Purpose (right translation): 1988. Abu Jihad was the Deputy of Yasser Arafat Leader of PLO. He had a long series of Israelis murdered in terror attacks in and out of Israel, mainly civilians.
Mossad tracked him and provided all the Intel. The operation involves Mossad, Matkal and Shaytet 13 (Seals). Also the Navy and Air Force. It took place in Tunisia, some 2,000 miles away from Israel. The forces arrived to the Tunisia area in a few small missile ships and a submarine. Mossad agents rented two minibuses and a car. The Seals arrived to the shore in small diving vehicles and secured the shore. A large Boing airplane used electronic means to shut off the Tunisian radars, and another boing was there to fuel the airplanes that were flying over and securing the perimeter of the operation. The Mossad hacked the local phone network to prevent any communications that would alert Abu Jihad. Five rubber boats loaded with some 20 Matkal Warriors landed in Tunisia. Two teams to perform the mission and two teams to secure the operators. At this point it was discovered that Abu Jihad left home for e meeting. The teams had to wait for hours. Then Abu Jihad arrived with two body guards. One stayed in a car and one accompanied him. The teams waited another hour until the green light. First two people approached the guard in the car, one warrior dressed as a woman with a chocolate box in one hand. They killed the guard. The other team breached his fortified door and a team went down to basement and killed the guard and another team got to his bedroom, he pulled a pistol but an officer shot a full magazine into his body (according to his wife who was spared along with his daughter and a baby) ) and other team members confirmed the kill with more shots. She identified the future Defense Minster of Israel Yaalon there. The UN condemned the operation. Israel kept quiet about this operation for decades and only in 2012 Israel admitted it. Two warriors were decorated for bravery after the operation.
Operation Crate 3: June 1972. Matkal ambushed a Syrian vehicle in Lebanon and kidnapped five Senior Syrian Officers in an attempt to use them to exchange with three Israeli hostages, two pilots and a navigator. The Officers were exchanged for the release of the Israelis a year later along with 41 additional Syrian War prisoners. "
As you see there is a long list and there are hundreds of not thousands of operations and I have access to about 20. But I hope you get a good idea about what Sayeret Matkal is.
#7
Yes, thank you. I imagine it was Sayeret Matkal that emptied that warehouse full of Iran’s archive of their nuclear bomb program about a decade ago.
Could inter-service rivalry explain some of the open loathing of the IDF generals for Bibi? Or is it as simple as kibbutzniks’ reaction to a very successful capitalist?
I added a search for their name to the article above, so it will be captured in future searches. :-)

[Regnum] Russian journalist Vladimir Pozner did not agree to work in the West because of the requirement to speak out about Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is reported by Forbes.
According to Pozner, he received offers from some media outlets, which he declined to name. However, the journalist was given a demand: to speak out "in a certain way" about Putin and his policies.
"I said, 'Listen, this isn't journalism, this is something completely different.' They said, 'These are the conditions.' I said, 'No. Thank you very much, I don't,'" the journalist added.
At the same time, Posner stated that he “dreams” of returning to television, but does not think that this will happen.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, Pozner also disappeared from the screens in 2022. His author's program "Pozner" stopped airing on Channel One, as did Ivan Urgant's program. In January 2023, Vladimir Pozner and his wife were spotted at the premiere of a play in Paris. The media also wrote that he moved to the United States.
Before this, Pozner stated that Russia had never been his home and he never felt Russian. He also said that Russia has long had an inferiority complex in comparison to Western countries.
[IsraelTimes] Overnight, Israeli security forces arrested a wanted Paleostinian from a hospital in the southern West Bank city of Halhul, who had been maimed in an attempted boom-mobileing attack last month.
Members of police’s elite Yamam unit and Shin Bet agents raided the hospital near Hebron overnight in a joint operation with the IDF.
The Shin Bet says that the detained suspect was involved in a boom-mobile that detonated in Halhul on August 13, in which he was also injured. He was taken to the hospital in the city where he was detained.
Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.
[ColonelCassad] On the US increasing production of ammunition, according to the US Department of Defense report
▪️155mm artillery ammunition - 40,000 per month (+178% compared to 2022)
▪️GMLRS missiles for HIMARS MLRS - 1,167 units per month (+40%)
▪️PAC-3 MSE missiles for Patriot air defense systems - 42 units (+50%)
▪️Anti-tank missiles for Javelin ATGM - 200 units (+14%)
▪️AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles - 137 units per month (+18%)
Considering that the report is public, the actual data may vary, but the general situation is clear.
At the same time, Western commentators note that a number of these indicators are lower than the Pentagon initially planned. For example, American officials promised to produce 80,000 artillery shells by the fall of this year. And now the report states half as many.
This is true. But this should not mislead us. The growth in production is still colossal and it will continue to grow. Even if not exactly according to the original plan.
The war will last a long time, the volumes of military production will steadily increase. And this concerns us too, the current rates of production of equipment and ammunition must be increased.
