[NYPost] Hundreds of Hezbollah terrorists were seriously wounded on Tuesday when the pagers they used to communicate exploded around their belts and pockets.

Hezbollah officials confirmed the wide-range attack on its operatives, including fighters and medics, with one member, speaking on the condition of anonymity, calling it the "biggest security breach" since it began its daily attacks on Israel on Oct. 8.

Videos uploaded to social media show several incidents where seemingly unaware men had devices in their pockets blow up, with the victims crying in pain as bystanders ran away.

Thousands of Hezbollah terrorists were injured in southern Lebanon on Tuesday when their new pagers all simultaneously exploded — causing horrifying burns to their groins and hands as the devices detonated on their belts and in their pockets.

Lebanese officials said 2,800 people were injured and eight killed in what Hezbollah officials claimed was a hacking attack by Israel.

The devices that detonated were all the latest models acquired by Hezbollah in recent months and distributed to its members, with the devices suspected of being tampered with, three security sources told Reuters.

The terror groups’ leader, Hassan Nasrallah had previously warned his fighters not to carry cell phones, telling them they could be used to track their movements or carry out some kind of targeted strike.

The terror group had switched from cell phones to pagers to communicate with its militants because of fears that the cellular network had been compromised by Israeli agents.

Israel Update:

Something major is going on and I was habitant to post it as it’s not known exactly.
Today Israeli Shabak (the Israeli FBI) published that they find explosives at Tel Aviv with an activation system that enables Hezbollah to activate it from Lebanon. It was directed at a retired senior figure from the Security Establishment (probably an ex-Chief of Staff). It was suppose to be a part of the revenge of the assasination of their Chief of Staff some months ago.
At the same time there are lengthy meetings of the War Cabinet with Mossad and other branches.
A senior person close to Netanyahu said : “We are mid a major event right now”.
There has been a lot of talk between Israel and the US in which Israel said that we can’t continue the situation with Hezbollah as it is.
Now, 9:15 US East time I am getting a wave of reports from Beirut Lebanon of the beeper communication systems of Hezbollah exploding and many Hezbollah people injured. Something very weird but images are coming of injured Hezbollah people all over Lebanon.
It may be a preliminary step to a major war with Hezbollah. Apparently their communication systems were breached and there are over a thousand injured maybe some killed too we are still receiving new updates and a major panic going in Lebanon. This is likely a Mossad operation. See videos.

A Reuters journalist saw hundreds of Hezbollah members bleeding from wounds in the southern suburb of Beirut known as Dahiyeh.

According to reports, the pagers were called before the explosion for some period of seconds to increase the chance that whoever received the call would pick it up and be maximally wounded. Shortly before the explosions, there were reports of a special meeting between Mossad Director David Barnea and Netanyahu.

The news comes only hours after the Shin Bet revealed that Hezbollah recently attempted to assassinate a top former Israeli defense official in Tel Aviv.

The situation is far from clear and developing, but given the juxtaposition in the timing and the last few hysterical hours in Israel about a security situation with Lebanon, did Israel just carry out only its second attack on Hezbollah in Beirut of the nearly year-long war in retaliation for the Lebanese terror group's failed assassination attempt?

The last time Israel attacked Beirut was on July 30, when it assassinated Hezbollah military chief Fuad Shukr in retaliation for the terrorists' killing of around a dozen Israeli-Druze in Majdal Shams via rocket attacks in the North.

This almost led to a full-scale war between the sides on August 25. Still, the IDF managed a preemptive strike that substantially reduced Hezbollah's ability to fire more than a fraction of the rockets that it had wanted to use to attack Israel, including northern Tel Aviv.

Kremlin responds to Meta's ban on Russian media
[RT] US tech giant Meta has “discredited itself” by banning Russian media outlets, including RT, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said. The move further complicates the prospects for “the normalization of relations” with the Facebook and Instagram owner, Peskov added.

The California-based corporation said in a written statement on Monday that it was deplatforming Rossiya Segodnya, RT, and other related entities from its apps due to “foreign interference activity.” The measures will be implemented globally over the next several days.

Commenting on the move, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said Meta “discredits itself with actions of this kind. Such selective actions against Russian media are unacceptable. We have an extremely negative attitude towards this.”

Last week, the US State Department announced fresh sanctions on Russian state-funded media outlets, accusing them of close ties with the Russian military. Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed that RT was “functioning as a de facto arm of [Russian] intelligence.”

RT has mocked the sanctions and accused Washington of trying to prevent it from operating as a journalistic organization.

Commenting on the State Department’s move, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said it amounts to a declaration of war on free speech, also describing the sanctions as “repressions unprecedented in scale.”

Meta was branded an extremist organization in Russia shortly after the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022. Its social media apps were blocked in the country for allowing hate speech against Russian nationals and for distributing false content about Moscow’s military. WhatsApp was the only app that avoided restrictions due to its classification as solely a communication tool.

Police uncovers underground cannabis cultivation tunnel worth over NIS 1 million
[Jpost] Police uncovered an underground cannabis lab in the Negev, seizing over 600 plants worth one million NIS, targeting crime families.

Police seized drugs with an estimated value of over one million NIS after uncovering an underground drug lab with an estimated value inside a tunnel near the Arad Bedouin towns in the Negev, the police reported on Tuesday morning.

The underground drug lab was uncovered over the weekend by officers from the Arad station, with the assistance of Border Police officers. According to the report, the tunnel containing the lab was built for the production and cultivation of cannabis, a drug considered dangerous in Israel, and requires medical permits to use.

Housing over 600 plants weighing approximately 140 kilograms, the lab was equipped with a large amount of equipment and was intended for public distribution, the police noted. The discovery of the one million-worth drug lab was part of ongoing efforts against violence and serious crime, targeting crime families, in a nationwide operation called “Emergency Halt,” the police explained.

The operation involves enhanced police action against criminals, targeting economic infrastructure and crime instigators, and is directed by Police Commissioner Dani Levi. Additionally, the operation aims to identify and arrest the crime instigators, prosecute them, and continuously reduce crime in the area while strengthening law-abiding citizen’s sense of security.

As such, the police stressed that additional investigative actions would be taken to locate and arrest the suspects involved in the growing and cultivation of the underground cannabis found in the Negev.

Previously the police reported that as part of the operation, Southern District police officers arrested a suspect in possession of an M16 rifle while scanning the streets of the city of Rahat following reports of gunshots in the area. During the initial investigation, it was discovered that the suspect was a resident of the city.

SUSPECTS ARRESTED AND GOLD BARS CONFISCATED IN OPERATION 'EMERGENCY HALT'
Also part of the nationwide operation “Emergency Halt,” police in Rahat found and confiscated gold bars and jewelry worth one million NIS which are believed to be linked to money laundering. Additionally, nearly 100 traffic tickets were handed to residents in Rahat, the police reported, explaining the objective was to ensure the safety of road farers and to increase their sense of security.

The police also announced that since the operation began on the first Tuesday of August, 268 dangerous combat equipment were confiscated, over 1,200 searches, and over 1,500 arrests were made, all of which were suspected, among other accusations, of violence, illegal arms possessions, and illegal drug possession.

Nearly 200 various firearms, including ten makeshift rifles, were seized, along with approximately 80 grenades, over 10.5 million NIS, and another half a million Dinar, which is used in several Muslim Middle Eastern countries.

Moreover, on Thursday the police also announced they had arrested a crime syndicate in the Beersheba area. According to the police, the crime syndicate was responsible for multiple break-ins into various businesses and the theft of multiple vehicles in Beersheba.

During the raid in Umm Batin in which the crime syndicate was arrested, police found multiple vehicles used by the syndicate members during break-ins and thefts and fake car licenses. Additionally, police forces identified and shut down two businesses associated with the crime syndicate, both of which operated without a license.

Expressing their commitment to combatting crime and ensuring crime instigators are found and prosecuted according to law, the police also announced that operation ‘Emergency Halt’ will continue, without setting a deadline, and that its main focus will be crime within the Arab sector.

The EU Retreats Further Into A World Of Self-Delusion

is getting so bad on so many different levels, the Brussels crowd had to bring in "Super" Mario Draghi to save the day — or at least write a report telling them what to do...

Draghi has spent time at Goldman Sachs, the European Central Bank (ECB) during the sovereign debt crisis, and as unelected prime minister of Italia during the early days of the Covid pandemic and runup to Project Ukraine. Depending on where you sit, he could be an odd choice to chart a path forward; while Draghi knows his way around a crisis control center, he’s also plenty experienced at creating them.

He was one of the chief architects of the EU’s disastrous economic war against Russia and he’s always been a grim reaper for working class citizens of his native country of Italia. No wonder that for months the neoliberal, war-loving spreadsheet crowd in Brussels has eagerly awaited the report as if it is manna from heaven that will help deliver them from the corner they have backed themselves into.

Curiously, his report was delayed by months, which only increased the anticipation, and it finally dropped last week, conveniently timed at another crisis point. Project Ukraine is quickly unraveling and pressure is coming from all directions for Berlin to give the go ahead for joint EU debt in order to make the EU "competitive" again and buy a bunch of weapons to do something (nobody is too sure of what exactly) about Russia. Indeed, Draghi’s report doesn’t say, nor does it ever consider making nice with Moscow.

That’s because the report, "EU Competitiveness: Looking Ahead" is a political document more than economic one intended to not only give cover to the bloc’s disastrous Russia policies, but continue to double down. And it is already being used as more ammunition for those in the Baltics, Poland, the media, US-funded think tanks in Europe, and more who are calling on Germany to support debt for an extended Cold War. Specifically, they wanted Super Mario to tell them how to get out of the predicament of their own making without changing course on Russia and a host of other issues, and Draghi delivered — as long as you don’t let reality get in the way. His answer? More money. Lots of it.

He calls for massive infusions of cash into multiple sectors: green, tech, energy, and of course defense. According to Draghi, the price tag is a minimum of 800 billion euros annually until 2030.

Asked if his message was "implement your report, or die?" he replied that "It’s ’Do this, or it’s a slow agony.’"

The EU certainly needs an economic plan, but Draghi’s report never questions whether ongoing belligerence toward Moscow (and loss of pipeline Russian gas) is in the bloc’s best interest and it never mentions Brussels’ obsession with austerity, which is once again being forced on member countries. From a purely economic standpoint, the report is trash economics that reads like something out of the late-stage USSR, according to economist Philip Pilkington.

But it does plug nicely into the political economy of today’s EU, which is being subsumed under Washington and NATO

The austerity-obsessed EU is once again forcing its member states to enact austerity budgets. Draghi’s report was requested by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who is working to amass more power to her mostly unaccountable throne, and is one of many voices calling for a defense union and militarization and the ability to borrow and potentially levy taxes to pay for those debts.

Pezeshkian, elected in a special election following the death of predecessor Ebrahim Raisi in a mysterious helicopter crash in May, made a tour of Iraq his first international visit while in office. Pezeshkian departed the country on Friday after visiting Baghdad, meeting with Kurdish leadership in Erbil, and concluding with a stop in Basra. He emphasized unity and cooperation among Moslem political entities during his conversations there and reportedly signed 14 memoranda of understanding with the Iraqi government in Baghdad.

The Iraqi government has not openly boasted of helping its proxies expand their influence in Baghdad. The New York Times noted that it only confirmed the official presence of Hamas and the Houthis in the Iraqi capital via unnamed officials and that both terrorist organizations are attempting to keep a low profile in the country. The Houthis, as a Shiite terrorist organization, has reportedly received an especially "warm" welcome from the Shiite terrorist coalition known as the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), which became an official arm of the Iraqi armed forces during the war against the Sunni Islamic State

According to the Times, Kata’ib Hezbollah, one of the most prominent Shiite terrorist groups in the PMF, has helped Hamas with security, while fellow PMF terror squad Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq have helped the Houthis.

While the Iraqi government has formally avoided loudly discussing the invasion of foreign terrorist organizations, radical Islamist politicians in Iraq have embraced it; the Times noted the Houthis found in Iraq an "especially warm" welcome.

"The presence of a representative of the Houthis in Iraq is welcomed by all political parties in Iraq," it quoted one Shiite politician, Saad al-Saadi, as saying.

Adding to the Times’ reporting, the news outlet Israel Hayom reported on Sunday that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) — a U.S.-designated terrorist organization and formal arm of the Iranian government — presided over an oversight "operations committee" in Iraq in March to help its terrorist proxies coordinate with each other. The committee reportedly brought together several PMF groups and the Houthis.

"Subsequently, in May, the Houthi leader, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, announced the beginning of coordination of military operations between his militia, Ansar Allah, and pro-Iranian Shiite militias in Iraq," Israel Hayom added.

The IRGC has for years been closely linked to Iraq’s PMF. The terrorist organization has long used its Quds Force, a wing of the IRGC dedicated to foreign terrorist attacks, to coordinate with PMF jihadists, particularly for anti-American operations. The reported growing presence of Iranian proxy terror groups has corresponded with Iraqi officials more frequently grumbling that they hope to see the complete elimination of the presence of American troops in the country as soon as possible. The United States currently has an estimated 2,500 troops stationed in the country as part of "Operation Inherent Resolve," the initiative to eradicate the Islamic State "caliphate."

On Thursday, the Washington Post reported that Baghdad was attempting to finalize an agreement with the Pentagon that would eliminate the U.S. presence in most of Iraq by 2025, leaving a small number of troops in the autonomous region of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) through 2026. Iraqi officials working to remove American troops is reportedly a response of pressure from PMF forces and the Iranian government to minimize American influence in the region. That pressure has fallen on both Baghdad and Erbil, the KRG capital.

Iran-Backed Houthis Holding 'World as Hostage,' Biden's 'Pinprick Bombings' Aren't Enough
[Breitbart] Saudi diplomat and former intelligence chief Turki al-Faisal recently lamented the weak response by the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden and the greater West to Yemen’s Houthi terrorists disrupting commercial shipping in the Red Sea, the Guardian reported on Sunday, dismissing “pinprick bombings” as insufficient.

The British Guardian newspaper was relaying comments that al-Faisal made during an appearance at London’s Chatham House to discuss the current turmoil in the Middle East. The Houthi terrorist movement, which relies heavily on support from Saudi Arabia’s longtime geopolitical rival Iran, has dramatically expanded its international profile in the aftermath of the October 7 Hamas massacre of hundreds of civilians in Israel.

Following the attack, the Houthis declared war on Israel and proclaimed they would attack all commercial ships transiting through the Red Sea that they deemed to be affiliated with Israel. The result has been dozens of attacks, including some deadly ones and two ship sinkings, on a seemingly random assortment of ships that has included some affiliated with Houthi allies such as China and Iran.

Global shipping companies have loudly complained that the international community should do more to protect global commerce as the Houthi campaign has caused shipping and insurance rates to skyrocket. The main response to that call has been “Operation Prosperity Guardian,” a Pentagon-led global operation allegedly intended to protect civilian ships attempting to transit through the Red Sea. Debuting in December, the operation had few named partners relevant to the Red Sea, and it is unclear if any meaningful defense work has been conducted under its banner, leaving shipping industry leaders feeling largely abandoned to the Houthi threat.

Outside of “Operation Prosperity Guardian,” Biden has greenlit some limited attacks on Houthi military targets — strikes that al-Faisal reportedly dismissed as making little difference in the security situation of the region.

“We have seen the deployment of European and US fleets along the Red Sea coast and more can be done there to interdict the supply of weaponry that comes to the Houthis from Iran,” the Guardian quoted al-Faisal as saying. “Putting pressure on Iran by the world community can have a positive impact on what the Houthis can do in launching these missiles and drones to hit international commerce.”

The Saudi diplomat lamented that “pinprick bombings” by American and British forces have had a minimal effect on the situation in the Red Sea. He also condemned Iran, however, for doing nothing to stop the Houthis from disrupting global trade. The Houthis, known formally as Ansarallah, could find their operations severely limited if resources from Tehran dried up.

“The Houthis now hold the world as hostage in the Bab al-Mandab entrance to the Red Sea, and yet Iran is not showing that it can do something there if it wanted to,” al-Faisal said, “and the kingdom [Saudi Arabia] would have expected Iran to be more forthcoming in showing not just to us but to others that it can be a positive factor in securing stability and removing differences not just with Saudi Arabia but the rest of us.”

Saudi Arabia conducted a military operation against the Houthis in Yemen for years, following the Houthi conquest of the Yemeni capital Sana’a in 2014 that led to the ongoing civil war. Riyadh supports the legitimate government of Yemen against the Ansarallah, which now claims to be the government of the country. That operation resulted in the Houthis orchestrating significant terrorist assaults within Saudi territory, including bombing key oil facilities.

While the Saudi government counted on firm support from the United States under former President Donald Trump, that support dried up under successor Joe Biden. Biden outraged the Saudi government with several measures including removing the Houthis from the State Department’s list of designated foreign terrorist organizations and halting the sale of offensive weapons to the Saudi military in response to alleged Saudi human rights abuses in Yemen. Following the launch of the Houthi campaign against commercial shipping in Saudi Arabia, Biden told reporters that delisting the Houthis — allowing them significantly amplified opportunities for global funding — was “irrelevant.”

As the Iranian regime supported the Houthis through their war with Saudi Arabia, the situation placed the two countries in a proxy war situation that severely jeopardized the already volatile situation in the Middle East. The Chinese communist regime, looking for ways to expand its influence in the Middle East, ultimately brokered a tenuous deal between Tehran and Riyadh to restore diplomatic relations in March 2023 that led to a ceasefire agreement between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis in September of that year.

In his remarks on Friday, al-Faisal suggested that, by allowing the Houthi campaign against global commerce to persist, the Iranian government had brokered the provisions of the China normalization deal.

The sentiment appears to have been heard in Iran, as President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed relations with Saudi Arabia during a press conference on Monday. Pezeshkian, a so-called “moderate,” was inaugurated into the presidency on July 31 after a special election following the death of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a mysterious helicopter crash in May. His inauguration was largely overshadowed by the assassination of Hamas “political” chief Ismail Haniyeh while in Iran to attend the event.

“We are brothers, so there is no place for hostility,” Pezeshkian reportedly said of the Saudis during his press conference on Monday. “I welcome any move that can solve the differences between Muslims.”

The Iranian president also denied that his country was arming the Houthis with missiles used to target Israel. Houthi terrorists fired a surface-to-surface missile hitting Israel on Sunday, an unprecedented attack that wounded five Israelis.

Carlo 'Kingston' Dorelli, of Port Orange, has been charged with making a written threat of a mass shooting - a felony - after he threatened to shoot up either his school, Creekside Middle School, or nearby Silver Sands Middle School, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

Authorities said they received a tip from other students that Dorelli showed off his collection of weapons in a FaceTime call, along with a list of targets.

Some said they could not tell if the weapons were real or fake, WESH reports.

'He had written a list of names and targets,' Sheriff Mike Chitwood wrote on Facebook. 'He says it was all a joke.'

Dorelli's arrest came just days after Sheriff Chitwood vowed to hold any child accountable who makes prank threats amid a flood of bogus tips following the deadly shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia.
During an ensuing search of the boy's room, authorities found a large amount of airsoft rifles, fake ammunition, swords, knives and throwing stars - which the sheriff's office splayed out on a table like a drug bust.

Officials also found a paper in his room with several names that appeared to have stab marks next to them.

The child later admitted to showing his friends his collection of airsoft rifles and some of his knives, but could not remember if he told them that 'the airsoft rifles were not real, functioning firearms,' according to an affidavit obtained by Spectrum News 13.

He said the other students 'began to discuss how [he] was going to complete a shooting,' but said he had 'no intention of causing any of the listed individuals harm,' according to WSVN.

Dorelli was then taken into custody, as deputies filmed him being handcuffed and perp walked into the Volusia Family Resource Center for processing before he would be transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Volusia County School District officials later told WESH that 'safety is our top priority, and this situation exemplifies how the security measures in place at our schools, as well as our partnership with law enforcement, ensures the safety of our students and staff.

'Thank you to the students who spoke up and submitted a tip when they heard something suspicious,' school officials said.

'We take all reports extremely seriously and work with law enforcement to ensure they are thoroughly investigated,' they added.

'We continue to encourage our students that if they see or hear something, they should inform an adult immediately or submit a tip to Fortify Florida.'

Dorelli's arrest came just days after Chitwood vowed to hold any child accountable who makes prank threats amid a flood of bogus tips following the deadly shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia.

Florida authorities had received 54 phony tips of an impending school shooting in a single night following the tragedy, costing the department about $20,000 in taxpayer money, Chitwood said.

'Every time we make an arrest, your kid’s photo is going to be put out there, and if I can do it, I'm going to perp walk your kid so that everyone can see what your kid's up to,' Chitwood vowed.

'For the little bastards out there who think this is funny, ha ha ha, you want to get on social media: You ain't that smart... You're getting caught,' he added.

Yahoo News, of all places, carried an article yesterday of a Snopes take down of the notion that Routh had been in a BlackRock commercial in 2022(?). The Yahoo article had a 3-4 paragraph comment from Brenden Dilley[@WarlordDilley on X], that discussed Routh being in the commercial, and it made a lot of sense and was echoed elsewhere. However, in the two hours or so that I've been going back and forth trying to figure out what is now missing, during this time the longer comment of Brenden Dilley has now been scrubbed across all web platforms.

Yahoo, to be safe, has even "pulled" its July article of Crooks being in a BlackRock commercial (go to the bottom of the Yahoo News article just above the 'View comments'). Snopes has done the same:

Even @WarlordDilley on X doesn't discuss the Routh commercial.

Hundreds of migrants scaled barbed wire fences in a desperate attempt to storm into a Spanish enclave in Morocco before being pushed back by riot cops.

The swarm of people, including Moroccans and minors, were seen throwing rocks at security forces as they tried to break into Spain's African enclave of Ceuta, near Fnideq in northern Morocco, on Sunday.

Local media reported another mass crossing attempt was also made earlier on Sunday, but was similarly intercepted by Moroccan police.

Sunday was a day of high tension in the area after hundreds of people gathered at the border following reported calls on social media for a collective breach attempt.

The young migrants were mostly Moroccans, but some were from other areas of Africa, the Spanish news agency EFE reported at the time.

The Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla are the only land borders between Africa and the European Union and both have witnessed mass influxes of migrants attempting to try to cross the border to reach the EU.
'The security authorities deported 2,400 people who were likely to try to migrate illegally ''within three days'',' reported Hespress on Sunday, citing an unnamed official source.

'They were arrested while heading towards Fnideq in preparation for emigrating to Ceuta.'

Since Friday, Moroccan security forces have been deployed heavily in Fnideq.

'This is the heaviest security deployment ever in Fnideq with authorities acting pre-emptively by setting up multiple checkpoints on roads to northern Morocco,' Mohammed Ben Aissa, a local human rights activist said.

A police source told the AFP that 60 people had been arrested between Monday and Wednesday for 'fabricating and disseminating false information on social media' to encourage a collective illegal border crossing.

September 15, or, 'The Promised Day' saw widespread social media calls for mass migration from Morocco to Ceuta.

The viral messages, spread primarily through platforms like TikTok and Instagram, urged Moroccan youths to gather in the border town of Fnideq and then attempt to illegally cross en masse into Ceuta via the El Tarajal border.

According to Morocco World News, the posts encouraged followers to swim or walk across the border into Ceuta on Sunday, using emojis including Moroccan and Spanish flags.

These 'publicly announced invitations' triggered questions of how such secretive operations would be advertised so openly, inducing thousands of Moroccan youths to flock to Fnideq in preparation for what was locally dubbed the 'Great Escape'.

In response to the 'Great Escape' planned by Moroccan youths, Spain has been forced to mobilise additional military reinforcements to the coast of Ceuta.

And across the border, members of the Spanish Civil Guard and National Police have increased their deployment along the border strip, using helicopters to monitor the border fence.

The Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla are the only land borders between Africa and the European Union and both have witnessed mass influxes of migrants attempting to try to cross the border to reach the EU.

Local reports stated that hundreds of young Moroccans had managed to get as far as Fnideq, the town nearest to Ceuta, before police apprehended them in the night and sent them back to their homes.

Four top ISIS leaders killed in last month’s Iraq raid, US military says
[AlArabiya] US officials say the joint US-Iraq raid was one of largest in recent years

Four top ISIS leaders were killed in Iraq during last month’s raid, the US military said on Friday, in what was a rare public acknowledgment by the Pentagon of such a large-scale operation.

An initial statement by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said that the Aug. 29 raid resulted in the death of 15 ISIS operatives. On Friday, CENTCOM said that an ongoing post-raid assessment showed four senior ISIS leaders were killed, including the head of manufacturing for ISIS in Iraq.

There had been a $5 million reward for information on Abu Ali al-Tunisi’s whereabouts from the US because of his work with ISIS. He is also accused of providing advanced training on weapons development and manufacturing chemical weapons.

Man injured near Haifa in car explosion tied to criminal underworld
In a time of war and civil unrest why would otherwise marginally tolerated criminal enterprises not be declared terrorist organizations?
This is like fighting within the Mafia. These are Arab-on-Arab attacks within Arab criminal gangs, mostly in Arab-Israeli communities. Occasionally attacks within/between Jewish or illegal migrant criminal gangs. There is no connection to the Jewish state, nor any desire for the Israeli authorities to notice.

A vehicle exploded on a highway north of Haifa on Sunday, injuring a man in an incident the Israel Police suspect was related to organized crime.

It was the latest in a series of violent attacks tied to the criminal underworld over the past few days that have seen cars blown up as well as shootings, as criminal gangs fight out a war on the country’s streets.

The Magen David Adom rescue service said it took a man to Rambam Hospital in Haifa with light to moderate injuries. Hebrew media reports said he was about 35.

The explosion occurred on Route 22 near Bialik interchange. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.

On Friday a car exploded in the Old City of Acre, seriously injuring a man in his 30s. Police said the incident was likely related to a criminal dispute. The Walla news site reported that the man’s 4-year-old son was lightly injured in the blast in the northern city, as were a 41-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, while a 15-year-old girl sustained light to moderate injuries.

The explosion in Acre came hours after a man in his 40s was shot dead in the central city of Tira, and a day after a car blast and subsequent fire in the central city of Ramle killed four people and injured nine others, including a two-month-old baby.

All of the attacks were apparently also related to criminal disputes, according to police.

A 17-year-old was arrested Friday on suspicion of involvement in the Ramle blast. The arrest came as some 500 police officers carried out raids in the cities of Ramle and Lod as well as in the unrecognized Arab village of Dahmash in connection to the deadly car blast.

A preliminary investigation into that explosion, which sparked a fire that spread to two nearby stores, indicated that it was caused by a grenade stolen from the Israel Defense Forces and possessed by someone already known to police, Channel 12 reported.

The Ramle attack was thought by police to have been tied to an ongoing dispute between the Jarushi and Abu Zaid crime families, with the car and nearby stores believed to be connected to the Jarushis, according to reports in Hebrew media.

The four victims killed in the explosion were identified by Hebrew media as Daa Abu Halawa, 50, and her two children Sila, 14, and Muhammad, 10, as well as Leen Mugrabi, age 24, all members of the Arab Israeli community.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who is responsible for the police, has faced criticism that he is not doing enough to curb burgeoning gang violence. Ben Gvir entered office as security minister in late 2022 vowing to crack down on crime in the Arab community, but homicides have continued to spiral, with 169 members of the Arab community killed in violent crimes since the start of this year, according to the Abraham Initiatives nonprofit.

Ben Gvir, for his part, has laid the blame on Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara. Speaking at the scene of the attack in Ramle on Thursday, the minister said Baharav-Miara had refused his request to use administrative detention against criminal suspects. Ramle residents accused Ben Gvir of evading responsibility.

Administrative detention — which is used to hold Palestinian and Jewish terror suspects without trial for extended periods of time — is highly controversial, and the notion of using it to fight crime has been met with pushback from security officials.

Many Arab Israeli community leaders have accused police of failing to crack down on powerful criminal organizations and largely ignoring the violence, which includes family feuds, mafia turf wars and violence against women.

[FoxNews] Apache Stronghold argues that the federal government is violating its religious freedom.

The Apache tribe in Arizona is taking a fight with the federal government and copper producers to the Supreme Court, which they hope will protect what they say is their religious rights to sacred ground.

Apache Stronghold, a nonprofit group representing the tribe's interests, is fighting to preserve Oak Flat — what the Apaches say is their "direct corridor to the Creator and the locus of sacred ceremonies that cannot take place elsewhere."

According to the petition filed at the high court, the government "has long protected Apache rituals there."

"But because copper was discovered beneath Oak Flat, the government decided to transfer the site to Respondent Resolution Copper for a mine that will undisputedly destroy Oak Flat — swallowing it in a massive crater and ending sacred Apache rituals forever."

Apache Stronghold argues that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) and the Free Exercise Clause forbids the government to do so and are asking it to reverse a lower court decision.

"In a fractured en banc ruling cobbled together from two separate 6-5 majorities, the Ninth Circuit rejected both claims. Although the court acknowledged that destroying Oak Flat would 'literally prevent' the Apaches from engaging in religious exercise, it nevertheless concluded that doing so would not ‘substantially burden’ their religious exercise under RFRA, relying on this Court’s pre-RFRA decision in Lyng v. Northwest Indian Cemetery Protective Association," the petition states.

"And while the majority acknowledged that singling out Oak Flat for destruction is "plainly not ‘generally applicable,’ it rejected the free-exercise claim ‘for the same reasons’ — no substantial burden," it continues.

#1  This is a mess for so many reasons. They are digging 7,000 foot shafts. Then they will lower the equipment and start blasting and removing material remotely. The giant rooms, they plan on removing 4,000 vertical feet of material, IE from 7,000 down to 3,000 down. Building up the floor with the slag. At first blush it sounds cool and they have done this before in Brazile. The problem is the ground above will become unstable from the blasting and will settle. Mostly minor earthquakes and slow dropping in elevation. The land will become uninhabitable at any level for about a 20 mile radius. Indian land was the only place they could get permits, as the USG wont allow it on fed land.

In Liptsy and Volchansk directions, units of the Sever Group of Forces inflicted losses on formations of the 36th Naval Onfantry Brigade, 125th and 127th Territorial Defence brigades near Liptsy, Izbitskoye, and Volchanskye Khutora (Kharkov region).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 70 troops and two motor vehicles.

Units of the Zapad Group of Forces improved the tactical situation and inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of the 43rd, 44th, 67th Mechanised brigades of the AFU, 103rd, 110th, 117th Territorial Defence brigades, and Azov Special Operations Brigade near Staroverovka, Petropavlovka, Kucherovka, Novoosinovo, Kruglyakovka, Vishnyovoye (Kharkov region), Rozovka, Makeyevka, Nevskoye (Lugansk People's Republic), Torskoye (Donetsk People's Republic), and Serebryansky forestry.

Eight counter-attacks launched by assault detachments of the 14th, 63rd, 116th Mechanised brigades, 3rd Assault Brigade of the AFU, and 1st National Guard Brigade were repelled.

Evacuations ordered after Texas gas pipeline explodes
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] An evacuation order has been issued after a pipeline in a Texas city burst into flames.

The fire started just before 10am in La Porte, which is located around 25 miles southwest of Houston.

The company that owns the pipe, Energy Transfer, has since confirmed it is a natural gas line which they have now isolated so it can burn itself out.

'There are no reports of injuries at this time. The LaPorte Fire Department is on the scene and has evacuated all homes and businesses within a half mile of the incident site.

'The line has been isolated so that the residual product in the line can safely burn itself out.

'We have no timeline at this point on how long that process will take, but we are working closely with local authorities.

'We are aware of early reports indicating that an unknown passenger car entered our right-of-way and struck the value location.

Spain's government similarly denied any involvement, Spanish media reported.

Diplomatic tensions between Venezuela and Spain remain strained following Venezuela's disputed July 28 presidential election.

A Spanish minister has accused Maduro of running a "dictatorship."

Venezuela was also upset by the decision by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to meet with Gonzalez, who went into exile in Spain last week after being threatened with arrest by Maduro's regime following the election.
