SDF, Pro-Damascus forces clash in Deir ez-Zor: Monitor
[Rudaw] Clashes broke out between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the pro-Syrian regime forces on Friday, a war monitor reported, with no reports of casualties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a UK-based war monitor, reported that the Syrian regime forces and allied militia groups attacked SDF positions in the western Deir ez-Zor countryside, using mortar shells.

There is no immediate information on casualties on both sides.

The SDF, who control northeast Syria (Rojava), has been the main ally of the US-led global coalition in the war against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) in Syria. The forces arrested thousands of the group’s fighters along with their wives and children when they defeated ISIS territorially and took the group’s last stronghold in Syria in 2019.

Control of Deir ez-Zor province, which borders Iraq, is now split between the SDF and the Iran-backed Syrian regime. It is also home to many of the country’s key oilfields, such as Omar and Conoco, which the global coalition helps the SDF to control.

The areas under the control of the Syrian regime and those under the control of the SDF are separated by the banks of the Euphrates River. The area is characterized by frequent smuggling operations, due to the difference in price of goods on either side.

Pro-regime fighters frequently clash with the SDF in the strategic province.

In August pro-regime National Defense Forces launched an overnight attack on the SDF in the province. Several non-combatants were killed in the attacks. Days later, the SDF carried out retaliatory attacks on the regime forces and pro-regime groups, killing 20 fighters.

Iraqi militia leader pledges support for Lebanese Hezbollah
[Rudaw] An Iraqi militia commander on Friday said his force was ready to send fighters to support Lebanese Hezbollah, following two waves of explosions blamed on Israel that killed dozens of people and injured thousands in southern Leb

White House says it backs restoring UNRWA funding ‘with appropriate safeguards’
Thank goodness this only a hypothetical question, as the Republican-controlled House will not pass the measure.
[IsraelTimes] The White House says it supports resuming funding for the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees if appropriate accountability measures are implemented after several members of the group were found to have participated in Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
’s October 7 onslaught.

National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby is asked during a press briefing whether the Biden administration supports new legislation being advanced by House progressives to restore funding to UNRWA. Congress passed legislation last year that bars US funding to the agency until March 2025.

Kirby doesn’t go as far as to explicitly back the legislation, but says the US still supports restoring funding in principle.
Clearly not the United States so much as the Democrats.
"In light of the fact that there is still an ongoing crisis in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
and the essential role that UNRWA does play in the distribution of life-saving assistance, we continue to support funding for UNRWA, with appropriate safeguards, with transparency measures built in and with accountability also baked into that," Kirby says.

"We believe that all of those efforts should include, a requirement that the executive branch certify to Congress that UNRWA has implemented the proper policies and procedures, including the vetting of their personnel and any plans that they have for investigating credible reports of violations of those policies and procedures," he adds.

The White House spokesperson notes that the US supported such a provision when Congress crafted the March 2024 appropriations bill, but it was ultimately left out of the legislation, as Republicans along with some Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
backed a ban on UNRWA funding entirely.

"We’re going to look forward to working with other partners — Japan, UK, Italia, Sweden, Germany, Canada and others to ensure that those appropriate safeguards are adequate to the task and to help secure appropriate funding levels for UNRWA’s humanitarian mission," Kirby says.

Basically this boils down to:

* "White House says..."

* The US and other free nations have been donating money to the UN without close monitoring safe guards.

* Or it was all part of a bigger agenda.

Summary: Harris grew up and was raised in a middle class environment.

Keffiyeh-clad protester outside synagogue charged with violating NY county’s mask ban
[IsraelTimes] A pro-Paleostinian protestor wearing a keffiyeh scarf has been charged with violating a suburban New York City county’s new law banning face masks in public, reviving fears from opponents that the statute is being used to diminish free speech rights.

Police say the 26-year-old North Bellmore resident was arrested Sunday afternoon during a protest in front of Young Israel of Lawrence-Cedarhurst, an Orthodox synagogue near the New York City borough of Queens.

Nassau County Police Department spokesperson Scott Skrynecki says that officers questioned the man because he had been concealing his face with a keffiyeh, which has become a symbol of support for Paleostinian people.

Police on the scene asked him if he was wearing the garment for medical or religious purposes, which are the two major exceptions to the new ban, according to Skrynecki. When the man confirmed he was wearing it in solidarity with Paleostinians and not for either of those reasons, he was placed under arrest, Skrynecki says. He was eventually released with a notice to appear in court on October 2.

Videos showing some of the arrest have been shared on social media. They show the man wearing the keffiyeh around his neck as he’s led away by officers in handcuffs and continues to lead others in pro-Paleostinian chants.

The man didn’t respond to calls and social media messages seeking comment Thursday.

Rachel Hu, a spokesperson for ANSWER Coalition,
…they used to call themselves International ANSWER, back when they were protesting the possibility of an American response to 9/111, but really they’re just another tentacle of the Black Bloc anarcho-communist international syndicate…
which organized a rally this week against the arrest, says the man is currently seeking legal counsel and won’t be commenting on the case until then.

"We feel that this arrest (and this ban overall) was aimed at intimidating known activists to discourage us from using our first amendment right to protest," Hu writes in an email.

Sunday’s arrest is the third under the Mask Transparency Act approved by Nassau County’s Republican-controlled legislature and signed into law by Executive Bruce Blakeman last month, according to the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.

Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka votes in first poll since economic collapse
[GEO.TV] Cash-strapped Sri Lanka began voting for its next president Saturday in an effective referendum on an unpopular International Monetary Fund austerity plan enacted after the island nation's unprecedented financial crisis.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe is fighting an uphill battle for a fresh mandate to continue belt-tightening measures that have stabilised the economy and ended months of food, fuel and medicine shortages.

His two years in office restored calm to the streets after civil unrest spurred by the downturn in 2022 saw thousands storm the compound of his predecessor, who promptly fled the country.

"We must continue with reforms to end bankruptcy," Wickremesinghe, 75, said at his final rally in Colombo this week.

"Decide if you want to go back to the period of terror, or progress."

But Wickremesinghe's tax hikes and other measures, imposed per the terms of a $2.9-billion IMF bailout, have left millions struggling to make ends meet.

He is tipped to lose to one of two formidable challengers including Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, the leader of a once-marginal Marxist party tarnished by its violent mostly peaceful past.

Sri Lanka's crisis has proven an opportunity for the 55-year-old Dissanayaka, who has seen a surge of support based on his pledge to change the island's "corrupt" political culture.

Fellow opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, the son of a former president assassinated in 1993 during the country's decades-long civil war, is also expected to make a strong showing.

"There is a significant number of voters trying to send a strong message... that they are very disappointed with the way this country has been governed," Murtaza Jafferjee of think tank Advocata told AFP.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hezbollah was still distributing pagers hours before Tuesday blast
[IsraelTimes] Sources say Lebanese terror group checked devices before distribution; screening of walkie-talkies was underway on Wednesday as those devices exploded

The Lebanese terror group Hezbollah was still handing its members new Gold Apollo branded pagers hours before thousands of the devices blew up this week, two security sources said, indicating the group was confident they were safe despite an ongoing sweep of electronic equipment to identify threats.

One member of the Iranian-backed organization received a new pager on Monday that went kaboom! the next day while it was still in its box, one of the sources said. A pager given to a senior member just days earlier injured a subordinate when it detonated, another source said.

A batch of 5,000 of the pagers were brought into Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. earlier this year. Rooters previously reported that Hezbollah began transitioning to pagers in an attempt to evade Israeli surveillance of its mobile phones, following the killing of senior commanders in targeted Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s over the past year.

Hezbollah had been importing pagers to Lebanon since 2022. The group had them examined by traveling through airports with them to ensure they would not trigger alarms, two sources told Rooters without specifying at which airports these tests were conducted.

Rather than a specific suspicion of the pagers, the checks had been part of a routine "sweep" of its equipment, including communications devices, to find any indications that they were laced with explosives or surveillance mechanisms, one source said.

Another source had told Rooters that the pagers had been implanted with explosives that were difficult to detect. A different source told Rooters that up to three grams (0.11 ounce) of explosives had been hidden in the new pagers, apparently months before the blasts.

WALKIE-TALKIES
Hezbollah suspected after the Tuesday explosions that more of its devices may have been compromised, two security sources, as well as an intelligence source, told Rooters.

In response, it intensified the sweep of its communications systems, carrying out careful examinations of all devices. The group also began investigating the supply chains through which the pagers were brought in, the two security sources said.

But the review had not been concluded by Wednesday afternoon when the hand-held radios went kaboom!, killing 25 people and injuring at least 650.

Hezbollah believes that Israel opted to detonate the group’s hand-held radios because it feared Hezbollah would soon find that the walkie-talkies were also rigged with explosives, one of the sources told Rooters.

The larger fatality rate attributed to the walkie-talkie attack in comparison to the pager attack is because the former devices carried a higher payload of explosives than the latter, one of the security sources and the intelligence source said.

The batteries of the walkie-talkies were laced with a highly explosive compound known as PETN, another Lebanese source familiar with the device’s components told Rooters on Friday.

Pictures of the walkie-talkies that had went kaboom! showed labels reading "ICOM" and "made in Japan". Icom 6820.T has said it halted production a decade ago of the radio models identified in the attack, and that most of those still on sale were counterfeit.

Yoshiki Enomoto, the general manager of Icom’s security and trade division, told Rooters it was possible that an older Icom device had been modified to make a bomb.

It would be difficult to insert an bomb into the main compartment of the walkie-talkie because its electronics are tightly packed, so it was more likely to have been in the detachable battery pack, Enomoto told the Japanese broadcaster Fuji TV.

A Lebanese source told Rooters that explosions had occurred even in cases where the battery pack was separated from the rest of the device.

In total, the consecutive attacks killed 37 people, including at least two children, and injured more than 3,600 people.

INVESTIGATIONS
The Saudi news outlet al-Hadath reported Thursday that Hezbollah has begun arresting people on suspicion of involvement with the attacks, including the brother of a senior member of the terrorist organization and the Hezbollah member responsible for the group’s communication devices.

The report added that the Lebanese army has been detonating Hezbollah communication devices and requesting that citizens report on devices they find and stay away from them.

The Lebanese news site al-Janubiyeh reported that the Lebanese justice ministry will cooperate with Hezbollah in its investigation into the earth-shattering kabooms.

Lebanon and Hezbollah say Israel was behind the attacks. A Western security source told Rooters this week that Israel’s secretive military intelligence Unit 8200 was involved in the planning. Israel, which has since stepped up airstrikes on Lebanon, has neither denied nor confirmed involvement.

The attacks, and the distribution of the devices despite the routine sweep and checks for breaches, have struck at Hezbollah’s reputation as the most formidable of Iran’s allied ’Axis of Resistance®’ umbrella of anti-Israel irregular forces across the Middle East.

In a televised speech on Thursday, Hezbollah Secretary-General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...>
said the attacks were "unprecedented in the history" of the group.

Hezbollah’s probe into precisely where, when and how the devices were laced with explosives is ongoing, three sources told Rooters. Nasrallah later said the same in his speech on Thursday.

One of the security sources said Hezbollah had foiled previous Israeli operations targeting devices imported from abroad by the group — from its private landline telephones to ventilation units in the group’s offices.

That includes suspected breaches in the past year.

"There are several electronic issues that we were able to discover but not the pagers," the source said. "They tricked us, hats off to the enemy."
"Along with the tops of several heads"

Health minister defends medical care for October 7 terrorists as intelligence asset
[IsraelTimes] Uriel Buso says injured attackers treated in Israel have provided valuable information that helped rescue hostages from Gaza

Health Minister Uriel Buso on Monday defended the provision of medical care to captured Gazook terrorists, saying that some have assisted Israel Defense Forces troops on the ground during missions to bring back hostages.

At a health conference, Buso talked about how Israel dealt with maimed murderous Moslems it captured during the initial Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
onslaught, when the terror group led thousands of murderous Moslems in a massive cross-border attack from the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.
Strip on southern Israel that killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians. Terrorists also kidnapped 251 people as hostages to Gaza.

Buso explained that although the IDF set up a special facility to treat maimed murderous Moslems it captured from the October 7 attack, some were brought to Israeli hospitals for specialized treatment.

He said that there is a legal obligation to treat everyone, but in addition, there is also a benefit to treating murderous Moslems as they can then be interrogated for information.

"At the end of the day, the system has to treat everyone who comes under its auspices. A doctor who has been in the health system for 30 years explained to me that murderous Moslems whose condition had stabilized were brought in for questioning, and [with that information] we knew how to save lives," Buso told the Yedioth Ahronoth Health Conference.

"Some of those murderous Moslems treated in the system entered with [troops] into Gaza, into tunnels," in the search for hostages, he said. He added, "We take them for treatment in order to stabilize them, not to give them a massage."

The information gleaned is saving the lives of "hundreds, and thousands of soldiers" in Gaza, Buso asserted, a principle he claimed applies in all situations when dealing with terrorists.

"How can you know if he a member of a cell, was he on his way to do something else, if there is a ticking bomb," Buso said. "The hospital stabilizes him" so that he can be questioned. "It really saves lives."

Earlier in the year, the Shin Bet published an image of an operation to recover the bodies of five slain hostages from the Gaza Strip, showing a detained Paleostinian aiding members of the security agency to locate the tunnel where the remains were held.

At the conference, Buso revealed the health system had been preparing for the possibility of a large-scale attack in the south. A few months before October 7, the Soroka Medical Center examined a scenario of receiving 300 casualties a day.

"In fact, they had 1,000 in 24 hours," Buso said of October 7.

IDF kills Hezbollah’s top commander, says he was overseeing plan for invasion of Galilee
[IsraelTimes] Ibrahim Aqil was wanted by US for attacks that killed dozens; 10 more of terror group’s military leadership also killed in the rare Beirut strike, as they met underground, IDF says

The Israel Defense Forces said Friday that it killed Hezbollah’s top military commander and at least 10 other senior commanders in a rare Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
targeting the terror group’s stronghold in Beirut, as the sides appeared closer than ever to entering a full-fledged war.

The IDF said the most prominent target of its airstrike, Ibrahim Aqil, was the head of Hezbollah’s military operations, the acting commander of the terror group’s elite Radwan Force, and was overseeing a planned operation to invade the Galilee.

Aqil was also the most senior military member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah’s top military body, after Israel’s liquidation of Fuad Shukr in a strike in Beirut in July.

Hezbollah released a statement late Friday confirming Aqil’s death, saying "one of its great leaders" was killed "on the road to Jerusalem," the phrase it uses to refer to fighters killed by Israel. The statement also said the "great jihadist leader" had "joined the procession of his brothers, the great martyr leaders, after a blessed life full of jihad, work, wounds, sacrifices, dangers, challenges, achievements, and victories."

Aqil had also been wanted by the United States for his role in the 1983 bombings of the American Embassy in Leb

and the US Marines barracks in Beirut.

In a curt statement issued on Friday evening, soon after the start of Shabbat, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "Our goals are clear, and our actions speak for themselves."

Before and after the strike targeting Aqil, Hezbollah fired some 200 rockets Friday at the northern Galilee and the Golan Heights. No casualties were reported following the barrages, which happened as the IDF alerted residents in the area to remain close to bomb shelters.

GATHERED UNDERGROUND, BELOW RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS
Alongside Aqil, the top brass of Hezbollah’s operations array and the leadership of the Radwan Force were killed in the strike, according to the military.

"They gathered underground, under a residential building, in the heart of the Dahiyeh, while using civilians as a human shield. They met to coordinate terror activities against Israeli civilians," IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said in a presser.

Hagari said that at least 10 members of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force and operations array were killed in the strike, which Lebanese media reported was carried out by an Israeli F-35 fighter jet using two missiles.

An Axios report quoted an Israeli official saying that some 20 Radwan Force commanders were killed.
Twenty big turbans kaboomed underground. It’s as if the IDF somehow had an electronic beacon guiding the missile… BWAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!
According to figures from Lebanon’s health ministry, 14 people were killed and 66 were maimed.
Correction. Eighty kaboomed, 20 toes up, more or less.
The ministry said the strike leveled the apartment building in the Dahiyeh area of south Beirut where Israel said Aqil and the other Hezbollah leaders had been meeting below ground.

The strike inflicted another blow to Hezbollah after the terror group suffered a pair of unprecedented attacks earlier this week in which pagers and walkie-talkies
…and other devices worked up by Unit 8200…
used by its members went kaboom!, killing 37 people and wounding thousands. That attack was widely believed to have also been carried out by Israel, which has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement.

Hezbollah chief His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...>
vowed on Thursday that Israel would face retribution for the blasts. The terror group did not immediately respond to Friday’s strike.

"Aqil and the Radwan Force commanders who we attacked are the commanders who drew up and led the Hezbollah terror group’s plan, to be carried out on the day the order was given, to attack into the northern territory of the State of Israel — what they called ’The plan to conquer the Galilee,’" Hagari said at his presser on Friday evening.

In this planned invasion, "Hezbollah intended to raid Israeli territory, occupy the communities of the Galilee, and murder and kidnap Israeli citizens — similar to what Hamas
..always the voice of sweet reason...
did on October 7," Hagari continued.

"The commanders who we eliminated today" had been overseeing attacks on Israeli citizens since October 8, and planned to carry out more such attacks," he added, calling Aqil "a terrorist with a great deal of blood on his hands, responsible for the deaths of many civilians and innocents."

WANTED BY THE US
Aqil joined Hezbollah in the 1980s, and was also responsible for the terror group’s attacks outside of Lebanon, according to the IDF. The military said he participated in many attacks in other countries, including targeting civilians.

Since 2004, Aqil has been serving as the head of Hezbollah operations, responsible for the terror group’s bombing and anti-tank attacks on Israel, air defenses, and other aspects of the organization, the military said.

The IDF said Aqil was involved in an anti-tank guided missile attack against an army post near Avivim in 2019, a bombing attack at the Megiddo Junction last year, and several attempts by Hezbollah operatives to infiltrate into Israel amid the war.

The US had accused Aqil of a role in the Beirut truck bombings at the American embassy in April 1983, which killed 63 people, and a US Marine barracks six months later that killed 241 people. He was also wanted for directing the taking of American and German hostages in Lebanon in the 1980s.

The US had placed a $7 million bounty on Aqil’s head.

Following the strike, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi vowed that the military would reach anyone who threatens Israeli civilians.

"The Hezbollah commanders we eliminated today had been planning an ’October 7’ on the northern border for years. We reached them and we will reach anyone who threatens the security of the citizens of the State of Israel," Halevi said in remarks provided by the IDF.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that, "Even in the Dahiyeh in Beirut, we will continue to pursue our enemy in order to protect our citizens."

"The sequence of operations in the new phase [of the war] will continue until our goal is achieved: The safe return of the residents of the north to their homes," he added on X.

A THIRD STRIKE
Friday’s strike was just the third time Israel has targeted Beirut since the IDF began responding to cross-border fire from Hezbollah that began a day after Hamas’s October 7 onslaught.

In July, an Israeli airstrike in Beirut killed Hezbollah’s military chief Shukr, and before that in January, Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Arouri was killed in an IAF strike in the Lebanese capital.

Hezbollah has pledged to continue its fire until there is a ceasefire in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
. Most of the strikes by both sides have been contained to the border area, but have forced tens of thousands of Israelis and Lebanese to evacuate their homes.

While Israel has repeated for months that it would prefer a diplomatic solution that would allow its residents to return to their homes, it has said it would use military force if necessary.

The US has sought to broker a deal, which among other things would see Hezbollah retreat 10 kilometers away from the border, in line with UN Security Resolution 1701, which the terror group has long violated. However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
it has acknowledged that the surest way to strike such an agreement will be by first reaching a ceasefire in Gaza, which has also remained elusive.

Still, US special envoy Amos Hochstein told Israeli leaders during a visit earlier this week that launching a war against Hezbollah isn’t any more likely to secure Israel the conditions it is seeking to return its 60,000 evacuated residents to their homes and argued that the sides will ultimately be pushed to agree to the same deal currently on the table after both suffering major losses.

US NOT TOLD IN ADVANCE
US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. This Is A Man That Does Not Seem Demented...
said Friday that he is "working" on allowing people to return to their homes on this week’s Israeli-Hezbollah tensions.

Biden told news hounds at the start of a cabinet meeting that he wants to "make sure that the people in northern Israel as well as southern Lebanon are able to go back to their homes, to go back safely."

"The secretary of state, the secretary of defense, our whole team are working with the intelligence community to try to get that done. We’re going to keep at it until we get it done, but we’ve got a way to go," Biden said.

White House spokesperson John Kirby said he was unaware of any Israeli heads-up on Friday’s strike. He stressed that the US wasn’t involved and was still working to avoid further military escalation through a diplomatic arrangement.

An Israeli official told the Axios news site on Friday that Jerusalem had reached the conclusion that a diplomatic solution would not be possible without a military escalation first, indicating Jerusalem’s hope that this week’s strikes will coax Hezbollah into agreeing to terms that it has yet to accept.

"This is why we have been gradually taking our gloves off and increasing our attacks against Hezbollah," the Israeli official said.

Israel announced earlier this week that it was amending its war objectives — formulated after Hamas invaded southern Israel from Gaza on October 7, slaughtered some 1,200 people and kidnapped 251 hostages — to add the additional imperative to return displaced northern residents safely to their homes.

’INCREASING PRICE’
Speaking to troops on Wednesday, Gallant said: "Hezbollah will pay an increasing price" as Israel tries to "ensure the safe return" of its citizens to border areas. "We are at the start of a new phase in the war.

Netanyahu, meanwhile, delayed his scheduled departure to the United States, where he is due to address the UN General Assembly, by a day, from September 24 to September 25, with an official citing the situation on the northern front.

For his part, Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati accused Israel of giving "no weight to any humanitarian, legal or moral considerations."

Earlier Friday, Hezbollah said it targeted at least six Israeli military bases with salvos of rockets after an overnight bombardment that people in south Lebanon described as among the fiercest so far.

Rocket sirens sounded in northern Israel’s Safed, Rosh Pina and numerous other nearby communities shortly after the strike.

The IDF said it responded to the rocket barrage by targeting a Hezbollah operative via dronezap in southern Lebanon’s Kafr Kila and having fighter jets strike buildings used by Hezbollah in Kafr Kila, as well as Aitaroun, Mays al-Jabal, Taybeh, Odaisseh and Yaroun.

Since October 8, Hezbollah-led forces have attacked Israeli communities and military posts along the border on a near-daily basis, with the group saying it is doing so to support Gaza amid the war there.

So far, the skirmishes have resulted in 26 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 22 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.

Hezbollah has named 483 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon but some also in Syria. Another 79 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have also been killed.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido had escaped from his bonds and overwhelmed his guard using the bludgeon the faithful Filomena had smuggled to him in the loaf of bread...
Kata’ib Hezbollah, an Iranian proxy operating in Iraq and Syria that is not directly affiliated with its Lebanese namesake, announced, the death of a member in an alleged Israeli airstrike near Damascus on Friday morning.

The terror group said in a statement that Abu Haidar al-Khafaji served as a security advisor in the Damascus area.

Accused Hezbollah financier pleads guilty in US to evading sanctions
[IsraelTimes] A former Lebanese diplomat accused of being a financier for the Iranian-backed Hezbollah pleads guilty to evading US financial sanctions against him and his terror organization.

Mohammad Ibrahim Bazzi, 60, who holds Lebanese, British and Belgian citizenship, pleads guilty in a federal court in New York to conspiracy to conduct unlawful transactions with an international terrorist, according to a statement from the US Department of Justice.

Bazzi had "claimed the credit for his role in conspiring to secretly move hundreds of thousands of dollars from the United States to Leb

in violation of sanctions placed on him for assisting the terrorist group Hezbollah," US prosecutor Breon Peace says.

Bazzi faces up to 20 years imprisonment, as well as deportation and forfeiture of the $828,528 involved in illegal transactions.

No sentencing date has been set.

The State Department in May 2018 had declared Bazzi to be a "specially designated global terrorist" and offered a $10 million reward for information leading to his capture.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has said Bazzi "has provided millions of dollars to Hezbollah over the years, generated from his business activities in Belgium, Lebanon, Iraq and throughout West Africa."

In February 2023, he was arrested in Romania and extradited to the US.

The US attorney’s statement says Bazzi had worked with an accomplice, Talal Chahine, who remains on the loose in Lebanon.

According to investigative journalism outlet ProPublica, Bazzi was appointed honorary consul in Lebanon by the government of Gambia

in 2005. The volunteer diplomat role helped him access unique connections and benefits, which can be ripe for abuse.

Senate candidate Sheehy's book appears to contain four plagiarized portions
[Daily Montanan] When Montanans see an advertisement or hear U.S. Senate candidate and political newcomer Tim Sheehy speak, he’ll likely talk about his experiences as a businessman and pilot who launched an aerial firefighting company in Bozeman. It’s a central part of the campaign and the candidate’s identity.

The Republican who is challenging incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Tester has built that backstory: First he was a U.S. Navy SEAL, combat wounded, and then a businessman who even wrote a book on aerial firefighting. That book was widely seen as a prelude or introduction of Sheehy as a public figure.

The book, "Mudslingers: A True Story of Aerial Firefighting," was also subtitled, "An American Origins Story." It’s part history, part travelogue and part autobiography, published in 2023 by Permuted Press and distributed by publishing giant Simon and Schuster.

But, the book which has helped solidify his place as a candidate and authority on aerial firefighting seems to have at least four different passages that were plagiarized — sourced, but not credited in the book, according to an investigation by the Daily Montanan....

The Daily Montanan reached out to the Sheehy campaign for further explanation, but heard nothing back from it....

It is not the first time the details of Sheehy’s life before politics have come under scrutiny for their truthfulness. Sheehy’s past, including a gunshot wound that may have been sustained in Glacier National Park, claims of parachute training over Glacier, and his business dealings including his aerial firefighting company, Bridger Aerospace, have come under fire. It’s also not the first time that Sheehy has remained silent when confronted with difficult questions. Sheehy has not openly commented or explained a recording of him in which he repeated on different occasions disparaging comments about Native Americans drinking, even after being called upon by Montana’s tribal leaders to disavow, apologize or explain the comments.

Even the book itself has come under scrutiny: It promises that all of the proceeds from telling the story of aerial firefighters will go back to supporting them. However, as other media outlets have reported, including Business Insider, it appears that the proceeds of the book go back to an aerial firefighting lobbying company which Sheehy himself founded, which in turn, works on behalf of his own company, raising questions about whether the money is really being funneled right back to him....

Panama Detects Increase in Chinese Migrants Crossing Darién Gap
[Breitbart] President of Panama José Raúl Mulino announced on Thursday that local authorities have detected an increase in U.S.-bound Chinese migrants crossing the Darién Gap jungle trail.

The Darién Gap is a 30-mile-wide, 100-mile-long jungle trail that Panama shares with neighboring Colombia and is the only land bridge between South and Central America. In recent years, a dramatic and unprecedented number of migrants have passed through the dangerous jungle trail en route to the United States.

Panama’s Migrant Authority documented 520,085 migrants who crossed the Darién Gap in 2023 — a record-breaking number that doubles the 248,284 logged in 2022. In 2021, authorities documented a total of 133,726 migrants who passed through the trail.

While Venezuelans fleeing the socialist regime in their country amply lead the statistics, Panama’s migration authority documented a notable surge in the number of U.S.-bound Chinese nationals passing through the jungle trail in recent years, going from a total of 296 in the entirety of 2010-2019 to 12,070 during the first eight months of 2024. China is now the fourth-largest group by nationality on the list.

In 2023, local authorities documented 25,565 Chinese migrants who passed through the jungle trail, up from the 2,005 logged in 2022.

“We have gone down in terms of [total migrant flow through the Darién Gap], but citizens from Nepal and China appeared in greater numbers in the last few entries,” Mulino said during a press conference.

Mulino, who took office on July 1, vowed to curb illegal immigration through the Darién Gap throughout his presidential campaign. Shortly after taking office, the new Panamanian government began installing barbed wire fences across some of the jungle trail’s routes and signed an agreement with the United States to establish U.S.-funded deportation flights that reportedly started in August. In that same month, the Panamanian government announced that it would launch deportation flight programs to China, India, Ecuador, and Colombia.

Mulino reportedly said during his Thursday press conference that his government is seeking to reach an agreement with Beijing to deport Chinese nationals passing through the Darién Gap but did not provide further details.

In August, Panamanian authorities announced that officers from the Senafront National Border Service dismantled a “VIP” route that Chinese migrants used to pass through the Darién Gap, arresting 15 individuals who managed it.

The “VIP” route, according to local prosecutors, saw its organizers offer Chinese migrants packages ranging from $2,600 to $8,000 per person for a faster, safer passage through the dangerous jungle trail. Passage through the “VIP” route allowed migrants to cross the jungle trail through a different route than the typical paths migrants take, which can take between five and eight days to complete.

According to Panamanian Prosecutor Emeldo Marquez, at least 700 migrants are believed to have paid for the exclusive route.

The Panamanian government reportedly foresees a considerable reduction of migrants passing through the Darién Gap by the end of 2024 compared to 2023 due to the closure of some trails and repatriation flights.

In addition to Panama, Ecuador began cracking down on illegal Chinese migrants passing through its territory by reinstating entry visa requirements for Chinese nationals in July, suspending a visa waiver agreement signed in January 2015 during the pro-China administration of socialist former President Rafael Correa.

While Panama vowed to curb the migrant flow passing through the Darién Gap, migrants can avoid the dangerous jungle trail altogether by flying to Nicaragua, where communist dictator Daniel Ortega maintains a policy of “weaponization” of migrants against the United States, granting U.S.-bound migrants safe passage through Nicaraguan territory in exchange for several fees and “fines” that have resulted in record-breaking profits for the communist regime.

Another Russian Arms Depot on Fire After Ukraine Drone Strike
[Breitbart] A blaze tore through a Russian arms depot deep inside the country, triggering explosions and the closure of a major highway, after Ukraine overnight launched over 100 drones at Russia and occupied Crimea, Russian news reports and the Defense Ministry said.

The depot appeared to be just kilometers (miles) from another that was struck by Ukrainian drones early Wednesday, injuring 13 people and also causing a huge fire.

Russian authorities on Saturday closed a 100-kilometer (62-mile) stretch of a highway and evacuated passengers from a nearby rail station after the fire caused a series of explosions. Posts on local Telegram channels on the messaging app said a missile depot was struck near the town of Toropets, in Russia’s Tver region about 380 kilometers (240 miles) northwest of Moscow and about 500 kilometers (300 miles) from the Ukrainian border.

Unverified images circulating on Telegram showed a large ball of flame rising into the night sky and dozens of smoke trails from detonations.

An ammunition depot and missile arsenal in southwestern Russia also caught fire in a separate attack Saturday in the Krasnodar region, triggering evacuations after the blaze caused a series of blasts. Videos on social media showed bright orange clouds rising over the horizon, as dull thuds of detonations sounded almost continuously.

Russia’s Defense Ministry early on Saturday claimed that its forces overnight shot down 101 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory and occupied Crimea. There were no immediate reports of casualties in either Russian region.

Sen. Tillis issues ultimatum to embattled GOP candidate in crucial swing state: ‘Owes it to President Trump'
[FoxNews] Republican Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., issued an ultimatum to North Carolina's GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson following the bombshell report of his alleged porn scandal, saying that he "owes it to President Trump."

"If the reporting on Mark Robinson is a total media fabrication, he needs to take immediate legal action," Tillis said in a Friday post on X.

"If the reporting is true, he owes it to President Trump and every Republican to take accountability for his actions and put the future of NC & our party before himself," he said.
And if it isn’t true? This is the age of PhotoShop deep fakes, after all.
Tillis' statement came after Robinson made a social media video denying his involvement in the scandal and vowing to remain in the race to become the Old North State's governor.

"Let me reassure you, the things that you will see in that story, those are not the words of Mark Robinson. You know my words, you know my character, and you know that I have been completely transparent in this race and before. Folks, this race right now, our opponents are desperate to shift the focus here from the substantive issues and focus on what you are concerned with to salacious trap, tabloid trash," he said in the X video.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Robinson's campaign for comment.

Border Patrol Agents Seize Nearly 275 Pounds of Fentanyl in 2 San Diego Sector Stops
[ToSD] Border Patrol San Diego Sector agents seized more than 100 pounds of fentanyl pills this week at a station north of Camp Pendleton.

The search and seizure, the second of two significant fentanyl finds in the last two weeks, took place near Avenida Vista Hermosa on Interstate 5, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

At approximately 4 a.m. Thursday, agents assigned to the San Clemente Border Patrol Station stopped a suspicious silver sedan, driven by an adult male U.S. citizen, on I-5.

A Border Patrol K9 team trained to detect the presence of concealed people, narcotics and other contraband conducted a non-intrusive search of the vehicle and alerted agents to search further.

Agents who inspected the vehicle’s trunk discovered plastic-wrapped packages inside of black trash bags, consistent with how smuggled narcotics are transported. The suspected narcotics, vehicle and driver were sent to a nearby Border Patrol station for further investigation.

At the station, agents removed 40 cellophane-wrapped packages containing blue pills. They tested the pills and received a positive result for fentanyl. The total weight of the fentanyl pills was 105 pounds.

The driver and the drugs were turned over to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department for prosecution on state charges. The vehicle was seized by U.S. Border Patrol.

23andMe directors resign as CEO seeks to take genetic-testing company private

[CBSnews] All of 23andMe's independent directors resigned from its board this week, a rare move that marks the latest challenge for the genetic-testing company.

The resignations follow drawn-out negotiations with 23andMe CEO and co-founder Anne Wojcicki, who wants to take the company private. In a Tuesday letter addressed to Wojcicki, the seven directors said they had yet to receive a "a fully financed, fully diligenced, actionable proposal that is in the best interests of the non-affiliated shareholders" from the chief executive after months of efforts.

The directors said they would be resigning effective immediately — arguing that, while they still believed in 23andMe's mission, their departures were for the best due to Wojcicki's concentrated voting power and a "clear" difference of opinion on the company's future.

Wojcicki later responded to the resignations in a memo to employees, published in a securities filing, saying she was "surprised and disappointed" by the directors' decision. Still, she maintained that taking 23andMe private and "outside of the short term pressures of the public markets" would be best for the company long term.

Wojcicki added that 23andMe would immediately be identifying independent directors to join the board. Wojcicki, who holds 49% of the voting power at 23andMe, was the only remaining board member listed on the company's website as of Thursday. A spokesperson had no further updates to share when reached by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

23andMe, which went public in 2021, has struggled to find a profitable business model since. The company reported a net loss of $667 million for its last fiscal year, more than double the loss of $312 million for the year prior.

Shares for 23andMe have also plummeted — with the company's stock closing at 33 cents Thursday, down more than 97% since its 2021 stock market debut, according to FactSet.

Meghan Markle vows never to return to UK as she eyes ''global superstardom''
[GEO.TV] Princess Meghan Markle
...unlikable American former starlet married to the formerly likable Prince Harry. Chock full of lefty political opinions, Markle's most important characteristic is that she is Black, even though she doesn't look it. Her mother, y'see, is half black and her father is white, which would make her a quarter Black. Her half brother described her (to her husband, before their marriage) as a jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage. Once married, she was too good for the Royals and she and Harry decamped to Beverly Hills, kind of like the Clampetts did, thus making a joke of Harry and the royal family heritage...
has shared her final verdict on UK return as Prince Harry
gears up to attend a key charity event in the country.

While Duke of Sussex's trip to England scheduled for September 30th has sparked speculation about a potential royal reconciliation, an insider has shared that Meghan has other plans.

According to Radar Online, the Duchess of Sussex is determined to become an ''international superstar'' and sees England as her husband's ''hated homeland.''

"She is determined to become an international superstar, and I can't imagine her ever willingly returning to Harry's hated homeland,'' the insider shared.

"Harry's trip was his first step in mending bridges, especially with his cancer-stricken father, King Chuck
...King of England, Scotland, Ireland -- at least part of it -- Wales, Gibraltar, the Falkland Islands, and places like that. The first King Chuck had his head chopped off, the second one was Good Time Charlie. The third once wanted to be a tampon and thinks we'll all be extinct within the next seven years...
,'' they added.

"Diana's family, including her sister Lady Jane, Lord Fellowes' widow, has worked hard to keep communications open since palace doors were slammed in Harry's face after his toxic attacks on the royal family.''

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Ike through the elbow. Take that, Ike! he yelled......
the insider added that Prince William and Kate Middleton are opposed to reconciliation with Harry due to his past criticisms of the royal family.

"That's good news for Meghan and the future of her marriage,'' the insider noted. ''Her success depends on keeping Harry and their royal titles!"

Israel investigates after videos show soldiers pushing bodies off West Bank roof
[X]

The Israeli military said on Friday it had opened an investigation after videos showed soldiers pushing what appear to be dead bodies off a roof in the occupied West Bank during a raid against Palestinian militants.

The videos, which began circulating online on Thursday, showed three soldiers on the roof of a building in the town of Qabatiya, dragging, pushing, throwing and in one case kicking what appear to be dead men off the edge.

Zakaria Zakarneh, the uncle of one of the men, said he saw what had happened. Israeli soldiers had gone to the roof after the Palestinians were killed, he told Reuters.

“They tried to move the bodies down with a bulldozer but it didn’t work so they threw them from the second floor down to the ground,” he said. “I was in pain, very sad and angry I was unable to do anything,” Zakarneh said.
Pretend they were gay, Zakaria. Then you would be happy?
Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video as Qabatiya and confirm the date from eyewitness accounts and video filmed by local Palestinian news organizations showing the same scene.

The Israeli military said in a statement the incident was serious and was not in keeping with its values.

The US said it had seen the video and immediately reached out to Israeli authorities, who promised to investigate and ensure accountability.

“We found it deeply disturbing. If it’s proven to be authentic, it clearly would depict abhorrent and egregious behaviour by professional soldiers,” White House national security spokesperson John Kirby told reporters in a briefing.
STFU Kirby. Remember: "Obviously no use in responding. A ‘handful’ of vets indeed and all of one stripe," Kirby said in the email chain.?
In a separate statement, the Israeli military said that on Thursday its soldiers had killed seven militants in gun battles and an airstrike in Qabatiya.

Violence has surged in the West Bank since the start of the war in Gaza nearly a year ago, with almost daily sweeps by Israeli forces that have involved thousands of arrests and regular gun battles between security forces and Palestinian fighters, as well as attacks by Jewish settlers on Palestinian communities.
The Times of Israel adds:
According to the military, Israeli troops killed four button men during the festivities in Qabatiya, after surrounding a building where a wanted Paleostinian was holed up.

During the firefight, the IDF said commandos from the Duvdevan unit used a tactic known as "pressure cooker" that involves escalating the volume of fire directed at a building to force a suspect to come out.

Three assault rifles and other weapons were seized from their bodies, the IDF said.

The IDF said that one of those killed in Qabatiya was Shadi Zakarneh, and identified him as "responsible for directing and carrying out attacks in the northern West Bank area."

It said he was "the head of the terrorist organization" in Qabatiya but did not specify which group he belonged to.

Photos captured by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named during the raid showed an IDF bulldozer moving near the building where the bodies were dropped.

When withdrawing from raids, the army usually leaves behind any Paleostinians killed by Israeli fire, though it occasionally brings dead bodies into Israel.

Under international law, soldiers are supposed to ensure dead bodies, including those of enemy combatants, are treated decently.

Since October 7, troops have arrested some 5,000 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 2,000 affiliated with Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
.

According to the Paleostinian Authority’s health ministry, more than 670 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed in that time. The IDF says the vast majority of them were button men killed in exchanges of fire, rioters who clashed with troops or faceless myrmidons carrying out attacks.

During the same period, 33 people, including Israeli security personnel, have been killed in terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank. Another six members of the security forces were killed in festivities with terror operatives in the West Bank.

WATCH: Michigan deputy climbs into moving truck to save driver suffering from medical emergency
[FoxNews] Michigan officers performed a life-saving feat along a busy stretch of road to assist a driver who was experiencing a medical emergency.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office provided footage of the harrowing act, which occurred on Sept. 12 at approximately 2:18 p.m.

Deputies Nicole Miron and Anthony Gross responded to the stretch of busy road after authorities received a report that a silver GMC Sierra was driving erratically.

As Miron and Gross came closer to the GMC Sierra, they attempted to pull the erratic driver over. Police said that the 63-year-old male driver failed to stop and continued driving at approximately 5 mph.

Body camera footage from Miron's perspective showed the pair of deputies pulling up alongside the driver. Police said that he "appeared to be in a daze, unable to comprehend the requests."

Authorities said that he eventually pressed on the brakes, slowing the vehicle down further.

In a heroic move, Miron lifted herself through the driver's side of the window as the truck was moving along.

"Luckily, I am very small. When I went through the window, it was a big-size front kind of window, I was able to slide right through. I don't think any of my gun or gear touched him, so I slid through, my small stature helped and the fact that we were a two-man car helped," Miron told WXYZ.
To everything there is a season, including tiny policewomen. Betcha she can meet the push-ups and pull-ups standards.
The Clinton Township Fire Department came to the scene and treated the driver, who was experiencing a medical episode, police said.

At least 14 dead, 66 hurt as Israeli airstrike targets Hezbollah commander in Dahieh; Quds Force denies deputy commander killed in Beirut
[Naharnet] Israel announced it had killed the commander of Hezbollah's elite unit in a strike Friday that Lebanese officials said left 14 dead and dozens wounded in the movement's Beirut stronghold.

Ibrahim Akil, who was also wanted by the United States for involvement in the 1983 bombing of the U.S. embassy in Beirut, headed the Iran-backed militant group's elite Radwan Force.

AFP journalists at the scene said the blast left a massive crater and gutted the lower floors of a high-rise building in the Lebanese capital's southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold.

Akil's killing was the second of a senior Hezbollah commander since the start of the war in Gaza, following another Israeli strike in Beirut that in July killed Fouad Shukur, a top operations chief for the movement.

It also followed two waves of explosions, on Tuesday and Wednesday, of communication devices used by Hezbollah members, which Hezbollah blamed on Israel.

Those blasts killed dozens and left Hezbollah reeling while dramatically shifting the focus of the Israel-Hamas war northwards.

Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said they were "of course, very concerned about the heightened escalation" and called for "maximum restraint" from all sides.

Turkish 'special interest' migrant tells Texas troopers he paid $12K to cross into US illegally
[FoxNews] Texas state troopers encountered 36 illegal immigrants near the southern border Friday, including a group from Turkey who said they each paid $12,000 to cross illegally in an effort to meet a "sponsor" in New Jersey, authorities said.

Troopers found the group in the border town of Normandy, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

Fifteen of the migrants, from Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and South Africa, were arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass.

Among the group were so-called "special interest" illegal immigrants from Turkey, Pakistan, India and Vietnam. Special interest migrants are non-U.S. citizens who potentially pose a national security risk to the U.S. or its interests based on their travel patterns, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The designation doesn't mean the people are "terrorists," but their travel and behavior indicates a possible link to nefarious activity, including terrorism, that requires further screening and investigation, DHS says on its website.

"In the last 48 hours, DPS Troopers have come across 8 special interest immigrants from 5 different countries in the rural Normandy area," DPS Lt. Chris Olivarez posted on X.

Of the 36 migrants caught Friday, 21 were handed off to U.S. Border Patrol.

In the group of Turkish migrants, one 26-year-old man interviewed by authorities said he found a "network" on Telegram and Instagram to help them cross illegally into the U.S.

He told investigators they had a sponsor in New Jersey.

"They take care of our expenses and everything while we are in there legally," he was heard saying on DPS bodycam footage posted online.
First, y’all are not there legally. Second, who is your sponsor, and to whom is he connected?

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Bombs in your pocket and on your body. How the explosions in Lebanon will change the world
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Andrey Musalov

[REGNUM] While many were afraid of nuclear war and nuclear explosions that would radically change life on Earth, other explosions happened - much smaller in scale. But they will certainly change our usual life, forcing us to take a different look at ordinary smartphones and other technology around us.

On September 17, panic gripped Lebanon. A wave of explosions of pagers, seemingly long-forgotten communication devices popular before the advent of smartphones, swept through parts of the country, including the capital Beirut.

In some places the explosions resembled machine gun fire - there were so many of them.

By evening, the country's hospitals were filled with maimed people with mine-blast injuries to their legs, arms, stomachs and chests. Many had their eyes gouged out and their faces mangled. Iran's ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was also wounded.

Hezbollah's leadership forbade party members from using mobile phones for fear of Israeli interception, so they used pagers that were not connected to the Internet.

Before the explosion, a message in Arabic was sent to the device. People tried to read it by holding the device to their faces. In total, more than 2.3 thousand people were injured on September 17, about 500 lost their sight. 16 people died.

Western media, including the British The Guardian, were quick to state that the attack targeted the leadership and members of the militant wing of the Hezbollah party. However, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry, only nine of the victims were members of the party. The victims were mostly random people, including four children.

It quickly became clear that the pagers that exploded were the Gold AP-900 model, manufactured by the Taiwanese firm Gold Apollo. They were sold in Lebanon for $180.

EVERYTHING EXPLODED
The shock of what had happened had not yet passed, when another blow followed. Already on September 18, a second wave of explosions rolled in. This time, not only pagers began to explode in Lebanon, but also laptops, smartphones, door locks with fingerprint devices, car radios, solar panels, household appliances and even scooters.
Goodness — those Mossad and Unit 8200 types sure are thorough.
But the devices that exploded most often were portable radios from the Japanese company ICOM, which served as backup communications devices for Hezbollah members. One of the explosions occurred at the funeral of the son of Hezbollah MP Ali Ammar, who had died the day before.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, up to 25 people were killed and 708 were injured as a result of the second wave of explosions. The total number of victims of the sabotage, according to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nusrallah, exceeded 4,000, of whom up to 40 people were killed.

Israel's national intelligence service, Mossad, planted a small amount of explosives in 5,000 devices ordered by Hezbollah members several months before the blasts, a Reuters source said.

Israeli intelligence services have carried out similar terrorist attacks before. A number of Palestinian and Iranian leaders were killed by explosions of miniature devices embedded in mobile phones. Similar assassinations were also organized by Ukrainian intelligence services. In particular, the former head of the LPR customs committee, Yuri Afanasyevsky, was wounded with a mined smartphone.

But this time the action was much larger-scale. At the same time, the cynicism of the organizers of the terrorist attack is striking: in order to hit several dozen real targets, they easily resorted to "collateral damage", killing and maiming thousands of civilians, including children.

WE WAITED FOR OUR MOMENT FOR 15 YEARS
With its actions, Israel is opening Pandora's box. Apparently, the idea of using gadgets to attack the enemy en masse will spread.
The idea is easy. The execution is much more difficult.
Something similar has already happened with drones. At first, they were a funny device used for video shooting from above, but soon someone decided to try dropping a grenade from a drone. It worked. In a few years, it became a mass military technology.

But, in addition to purely military ones, the explosions in Lebanon also highlighted a simple everyday question: are the numerous household devices that we surround ourselves with in everyday life safe? Is it possible to remotely blow up, for example, a smartphone? Yes, it is quite possible, answers the general designer of the company "Voenform-design" Yaroslav Safonov to the IA Regnum.

According to him, the features of the most common batteries - lithium-ion batteries - can be used for this purpose. During the first charge at the manufacturing plant, a protective ion-conducting layer formed from decomposed electrolyte is formed on the batteries. The barrier protects the electrodes from unacceptable reactions with the electrolyte. But if the barrier is broken, a fairly violent thermal reaction can occur. Simply put, the battery will catch fire.

"Most often, such a reaction can occur in the case of mechanical damage. For example, if you pierce the battery with a sharp object, " says Safonov. "But you can also achieve a similar effect by heating the battery by sending a specific command to the device."

At the same time, judging by the footage from Lebanon, a more powerful detonation occurred there, the interlocutor of IA Regnum continues. According to him, with a normal bang of such a device, the most that can happen is a burn of the hand or thigh, if the device was in the pocket. Here, however, we see much more serious damage, which usually occurs when explosives are detonated, for example, plastic explosives.

"I can assume that the organizers of the sabotage in Lebanon did exactly that. They placed a small amount of plastic explosive (or other similar explosive) in the area of the device's board in factory conditions. They didn't need much - 20-30 grams would have been enough. And at the right moment, a signal was sent to the device, which led to the explosion."

Many experts in the field of electronic devices are inclined to the same conclusion. In turn, the ABC-News publication, citing a source in American intelligence, reported that large-scale sabotage in Lebanon began to be prepared by Israeli special services after the end of the unsuccessful operation against Hezbollah in 2006. This idea is suggested by the simultaneous detonation in Lebanon of five hundred portable radio stations icom v82 of the Japanese company ICOM, long out of production. Presumably, the devices were mined in factory conditions at least 15 years ago. All this time they were waiting for their time, regularly performing their basic functions.

BOMB NEAR THE HEAD
However, it does not matter how exactly the explosives were placed in the devices. The main thing is that they have not been detected for many years. Apparently, the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, who was injured in the explosion, has undergone many times the control of scanning explosives, but the control did not reveal anything. This means that there is already a technology for the production and "packaging" of explosives that bypasses the means of control. And this threatens many processes in modern life.

The most obvious area is civil aviation. Potential terrorists could theoretically bring mined gadgets onto planes and blow them up. To prevent this, all equipment will be carefully inspected and, if there is any suspicion, confiscated. The same thing could happen in any crowded places.

But even if a person does not plan terrorist attacks, can he be sure of the reliability of his gadgets? Obviously not. It is enough to look at how many smartphones and other equipment are sold on the secondary market. But what if a second-hand phone was intended for a person who was to be liquidated? How can you find out what batch it is from and where exactly it was manufactured?

But it's not just smartphones that can explode. After the explosions in Lebanon, experts advise being very careful with electronic cigarettes and vapes. Firstly, they have batteries. Secondly, the liquid for them can be poisoned in advance if you really want to. Thirdly, when smoking ("vaping"), the device is near your head.

After what happened in Lebanon, any technology becomes a source of threat. Consequently, control measures over it will be tightened, new restrictions and prohibitions will appear. And people, it seems, will stop laughing at those who are cautious about new technologies and do not hang themselves in “smart” devices from head to toe — from electronic watches and “smart rings” to virtual reality helmets.

#1  20-30 grams would have been enough.

Tricksy Juices, using grams. Lessee...

A US nickle weighs five grams. 454 grams to a pound, so 30 grams is about... one ounce.

But it seems like five nickles would take a lot of space.

#2  28 grams equals one ounce, Bobby. That’s the conversion I use for baking. Weighing ingredients gives more consistent results, because the same weight might be packed more or less tightly, meaning the same volume might contain as much as 25% more.

i saw photos yesterday that showed the space filled with ball bearings as well as explosive, thought that may have been speculative rather than of one that didn’t kaboom.

Europe
Journalist Bouze accuses EC chief of covering up murders in Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen covers up the mass kidnappings and murders that are taking place on the territory of Ukraine. Irish journalist Chey Bowes wrote about this on September 20on the social network X (former Twitter).

"Von Der Liar has come to Kiev. To fix the heating. She will ignore the mass kidnappings. The murders. The imprisonment and murder of journalists," he wrote.

According to Boze, the head of the EC is also engaged in covering up the huge corruption and theft of EU taxpayers' money in Ukraine, as well as its support for the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, who is a dictator.

The journalist added that, in his opinion, it is precisely in such things that European “values” are manifested today.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, on September 19, Jordan O'Brien, a mercenary of Ukrainian militants from New Zealand, published posts on social networks with threats against Russian journalists and calls to "destroy" Russia. Previously, the mercenary participated in the invasion of Ukrainian formations in the Kursk region and raised funds to purchase FPV drones and equipment.

VGTRK correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny was injured in a Ukrainian drone attack in Kursk Oblast on August 7. The next day, the journalist was taken to the Sklifosovsky Institute of Emergency Care. Poddubny was discharged from the Sklifosovsky Institute on September 13 and thanked the doctors for their professionalism, who helped him recover quickly.

Zakharova: Russia has data on concentration camps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Russian border area

The Russian side has information about the creation of concentration camps in the Russian border area by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was stated on September 20 at a briefing on the sidelines of the IV Eurasian Women's Forum in Saint Petersburg by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

The diplomat noted that Russian law enforcement agencies continue to receive information about cases of forcible removal by Ukrainian military of residents of the Kursk region who did not have time to evacuate.

"This, let me remind you, by the way, is a typical practice of the German fascist occupiers. Do you remember how they took Soviet people, citizens of the Soviet Union, into captivity, into slavery?" Zakharova said.

She added that there is a lot of evidence from witnesses collected by the headquarters of the Russian Red Cross in Kursk.

“In essence, there is simply direct data, evidence of the creation of something like concentration camps by Ukrainian Armed Forces militants in the Russian border area,” the representative of the Foreign Ministry indicated.

Zakharova clarified that local residents who, for various reasons, were unable to leave unsafe areas are placed there at gunpoint.

As reported by Regnum news agency, Ukrainian Armed Forces units have been attacking Kursk Oblast since August 6. Russian fighters stopped them in border areas, preventing them from advancing deep into Russian territory. According to the Russian Defense Ministry on September 19, during the fighting in Kursk Oblast, Ukrainian troops lost more than 14.9 thousand servicemen, 122 tanks, 52 infantry fighting vehicles, 93 armored personnel carriers, 768 armored combat vehicles, and 109 artillery pieces.

The report by the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik stated that Ukrainian troops created concentration camps for civilians during their invasion of the Kursk region. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used residents of the region so that foreign journalists who had illegally arrived on Russian territory could film propaganda stories. In particular, 70 to 100 civilians were herded into the basements of a boarding school in Sudzha, where they were “subjected to moral violence” and filmed, Miroshnik added.

Testimonies about atrocities and outrages by the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the invasion were given by residents of the border areas of the Kursk region. The representative of the military investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Dmitry Goryachenkov, clarified that this concerns intentional shelling of civilians, including during evacuation, violence and robbery. According to local residents, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at houses, cars, and used FPV drones for this.

On August 30, Miroshnik said that Russian soldiers were subjected to cruel treatment in Ukrainian captivity. He noted that he had repeatedly communicated with people who were held in colonies or secret prisons in Ukraine.

Ukrainian offensive Operation in Kursk region
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Korrespondent] 11:59 Russians are accommodating refugees from Sudzha in the Kursk region in Mariupol, said the mayor's adviser Petr Andryushchenko. According to him, Russian refugees are staying in temporary accommodation centers set up by the United Russia party. The "authorities" of the occupiers have chosen stolen Ukrainian property in the Primorsky district of Mariupol, not far from the sea, as a place for the refugees to stay.

11:10 The Guardian writes that Moscow knew about the preparation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region, but failed to prepare. At the end of August, the publication's journalists met with a Ukrainian special forces group, which seized documents from abandoned Russian positions and returned to Ukraine. Most of the documents came from units of the 488th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of Russia. The entry from January 4 spoke of the "potential for a breakthrough on the state border" of Ukrainian armed groups, after which there were several more warnings.

Kursk operation. Russia knew, but could do nothing

Several months before the start of the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive in the Kursk region, the Russian command foresaw the possibility of such an operation.

During the Kursk operation, Ukrainian military personnel captured Russian army documentation. The documents were handed over to journalists from The Guardian by representatives of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SOF) at the end of August. They show that the Russian command foresaw the possibility of such an operation several months before the Ukrainian Armed Forces began their offensive in the Kursk region.

EXPECTED AN OFFENSIVE
The documents include both printed orders sent to various units and handwritten journals, the publication writes. The earliest documents date back to the end of 2023, and the latest entries were made six weeks before Ukraine launched an operation in the Kursk region on August 6. The documents mostly came from small units of the 488th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces, including the second company of the 17th Battalion.

The Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region, writes The Guardian, “caught Kyiv’s Western allies and many members of the Ukrainian elite by surprise, as very few people were involved in the planning.” However, the publication emphasizes that documents seized from Russian military personnel indicate that warnings about a possible Ukrainian offensive and an attempt to occupy Sudzha were received for months before the operation began.

In particular, the document, dated January 4, speaks of the “potential for a breakthrough at the state border” in the Kursk region by Ukrainian units. It orders intensifying preparations to prevent an attack.

Another document, dated February 19, shows that unit commanders were warned of Ukrainian plans to “rapidly advance from the Sumy region into Russian territory to a depth of up to 80 kilometers in order to create a four-day “corridor” before the arrival of the main units of the Ukrainian army in armored vehicles.”

In mid-June, The Guardian reports, a specific warning was issued about plans for a Ukrainian offensive “in the direction of Yunakovka-Sudzha, with the aim of taking control of Sudzha.” The documents also show that Russian commanders predicted that Ukrainian forces would attempt to destroy the bridge over the Seim River in order to disrupt Russian supply lines in the region.

WE JUST RAN
Despite the fact that the Russian command admitted the possibility of a breakthrough of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region, the military complained about the lack of forces and insufficient training. Thus, one of the documents, dated June, said that the units deployed in the border areas “are on average only 60-70 percent staffed and mainly represent reserves with poor training.”

After the offensive in the Kursk region began, recalled the Ukrainian military officer who handed over the documents to The Guardian, many Russian soldiers abandoned their positions. Ukrainian Armed Forces units quickly occupied border settlements, including Sudzha. “They fled without even destroying the documents,” the source emphasized.

From the documents captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian territory, it follows that the command of the Russian Armed Forces has to take into account the low morale of the military. In particular, the internal document flow talks about the consequences for the morale of the Russian military due to the suicide of one of the soldiers, who was in a “long-term depression due to service in the Russian army.” The soldier committed suicide in January 2024.

Following the suicide, commanders were ordered to identify soldiers who were “not mentally prepared to perform their duties or who were prone to deviant behavior, and to organize their redistribution and transfer to military medical institutions.”

To maintain the proper psychological state, commanders were ordered to ensure that their subordinates watched and listened to Russian state media every day, and that once a week they were given political information “aimed at maintaining and improving the political, moral and psychological state of the personnel.”

17:55 The attack on the Odessa sea trade port is analyzed by Donbas Partizan:

“Today, September 20, 2024, at about 14:00, a strike was carried out on the 47th berth of the Odessa Sea Trade Port using an Iskander-M OTRK missile.

Structure and use of the berth: the length of the 47th berth is 170 meters, the depth is 11.5 meters, which allows receiving vessels of the corresponding draft. The berth operator is Brooklyn-Kiev LLC.

According to intelligence, this berth was used by the personnel of the Marine Guard of the State Border Service of Ukraine and special units of the Main Intelligence Directorate. Also worthy of attention is the frequent recording of the movement of patrol and landing boats from the berth, as well as the launch of unmanned boats from the area, which indicates increased activity in the use of the facility for military purposes.

Aftermath of the strike: As a result of the strike, nine border guard and GUR servicemen were injured (the extent of the injuries is unknown). The strike also resulted in damage to three maritime security vessels, including the P02 Risto (Ukrainian: Reni), transferred by Estonia in May 2024, and the destruction of the Combat Boat 90 landing craft, previously received by the GUR in Swedish deliveries.

The strike also affected the Antigua-flagged civilian vessel Golden Lion, which was planned to be used by the enemy "in the dark" as cover for upcoming naval military operations. This highlights the risk to civilian assets in conflict zones, as well as the difficulty of separating military and civilian operations in active combat situations."

14:27 Summary of the Russian Ministry of Defense on the progress of the special military operation:

From September 14 to 20 of this year, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out 27 group strikes with high-precision weapons and attack unmanned aerial vehicles, which resulted in the destruction of energy facilities that supported the operation of enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, the infrastructure of military airfields, UAV storage sites and their pre-flight preparation sites.

In addition, ammunition and logistics depots, repair bases for the restoration of weapons and military equipment, a military echelon with foreign weapons, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian Armed Forces units, nationalist formations and foreign mercenaries were hit.

During the week, units of the North group of forces continued the operation to destroy the Ukrainian Armed Forces formations in the Kursk region. During the offensive, the settlements of Uspenovka and Borki were liberated.

Air strikes, unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery fire on the areas of concentration of personnel and equipment of three mechanized, a tank, two airborne assault brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and two territorial defense brigades thwarted attempts to conduct counterattacks and introduce enemy reserves.

In the Volchansk and Liptsov directions, the formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces motorized infantry brigade, the marine brigade and three territorial defense brigades were defeated.

Units of the "West" group of forces continued to advance into the depths of the enemy's defense, defeated the formations of six mechanized, assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, three territorial defense brigades and the special forces brigade "Azov*". They repelled 24 counterattacks of assault units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As a result of decisive actions by units of the "Southern" group of troops, the settlements of Zhelannoye Pervoye and Georgievka of the Donetsk People's Republic were liberated. The manpower and equipment of five mechanized, motorized infantry, two infantry, mountain assault, two airborne assault and three airmobile brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were defeated. 14 counterattacks by enemy assault groups were repelled.

Units of the "Center" group of forces have improved the situation along the front line by active actions. They have defeated formations of a tank, six mechanized, two infantry, two ranger, airborne assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, three territorial defense brigades, a national guard brigade and the "Lyut" assault brigade of the national police of Ukraine. They have repelled 58 counterattacks by enemy assault groups.

The servicemen of the "East" group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions. They defeated the manpower and equipment of the tank, mechanized, motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the territorial defense brigade. They repelled 11 counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units. The enemy lost up to 735 servicemen, two tanks, seven combat armored vehicles, 16 cars and seven field artillery guns.

Al-Qassam forces successfully target Zionist forces entrenched in Rafah
by Emad Almarshahi

...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The venerable C-130 Hercules marks 70 years since its first flight
[AEROTIME] It is quite remarkable for an aircraft type to remain in active service for 70 years, especially when it is still in production.

On August 23, 2024, the C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft had been flying for 70 years to the day since its very first flight.

Although keeping its general configuration and easily recognizable look, the venerable Hercules has seen numerous iterations since that eventful day of 1954 on which it first took to the skies.

Today’s version of the Hercules, the C-130J Super Hercules, which is produced and marketed by Lockheed Martin, is a thoroughly upgraded version with modernized engines and avionics.

During all these decades, the C-130 has also been adapted to perform a broad range of missions beyond the original tactical transport role. The Hercules has been used as a tanker, gunship, firefighter, electronic warfare, maritime patrol and special operations aircraft, to name just a few of the jobs it has performed.

More than 2,500 C-130s in its different versions have been built since.

The first of them was delivered to the US Air Force in 1956, but its versatility has also made the C-130 a best seller among air forces all over the world, with the number of past or current operators being counted in the dozens.

It has also had an active role in a large number of conflicts, starting with the Vietnam War, but also in the Falklands War, the two Gulf Wars and many of the post-Cold War conflicts and in support of numerous humanitarian emergencies.

Lockheed Martin markets also a version of the Hercules for the civilian market, the LM-100, LM-100J in its latest iteration.

With more than 500 C-130J Super Hercules already delivered and quite a few orders in Lockheed’s order book, it looks like the C-130 may well become a centenary aircraft three decades from now.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: September 20, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the titl
e.
[Korrespondent] 22:25 The US plans to announce a major military aid package for Ukraine next week. However, supplies are likely to be delayed due to a shortage of supplies, CNN reports. Artillery, air defense systems and other ammunition are expected to be provided. This package will be significantly larger than recent ones, which hovered around $200 million.

21:34 Russians attacked Dnepr - the building of the educational center was partially destroyed, according to preliminary information, one person was wounded, reported the head of the OVA Sergey Lysak. In addition, during the day the enemy attacked the Nikopol district, one person was injured. Infrastructure, a gas station, three multi-story buildings and four private houses were damaged.

20:52 Zelensky confirmed that the Ukrainian side is preparing for talks in the US with Biden and both presidential candidates Harris and Trump. According to him, in the US he will present a specific action plan that will "bring victory and a just peace closer."

18:36 Russians fired mortar shells at the village of Ivashki in the Zolochiv community of the Kharkiv region - three people were wounded, reported the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov. In addition, two people were killed and at least two were wounded as a result of enemy shelling of Kovsharovka in the Kupyansk district.

18:30 Zelensky reported that he held an important meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Headquarters, where they discussed protecting the energy sector this winter, including taking into account the Patriot systems that are due to arrive soon; domestic production of missiles, drones and electronic warfare systems; and the situation at the front.

17:53 Russians carried out two KAB strikes on the Slobodsky and Osnovyansky districts of Kharkov - three people were injured, reported the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov.

17:39 When the EU promised Ukraine 1 million rounds of ammunition, officials did not know whether the bloc's countries would be able to produce that much, said the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell: "When the war in Ukraine began and we promised to give it 1 million shells, we said this without knowing whether we could. And then it turned out that we couldn't... We are not in a state of war and we don't want to be. We are far from being able to replenish our armies, we are far from being able to provide Ukraine with all the necessary assistance. We have a very important technological gap, which in a geopolitical context becomes very threatening. We live in a harsh, conflict-ridden, fragmented world."
Come now, Mr. diplomatic head: Western Europe began the industrial age centuries ago. We know how to manufacture things in quantity, and how to ramp up production when needed. Release the factories!
17:02 On average, 6.5 thousand volunteers are recruited monthly in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense reported. More than 10 thousand vacancies are available to citizens, including cooks, repairmen, lawyers, drone operators, doctors and others. The department emphasized that summonses are not handed out in and around recruitment centers - this is directly prohibited by regulatory documents.

16:28 The Ministry of Finance clarified that the funds in the amount of up to 35 billion euros, the allocation of which was announced today by Ursula von der Leyen, are being transferred to Ukraine on a non-repayable basis: the loan will be repaid exclusively from future income from frozen Russian assets in the EU.

16:21 Russians hit Odessa with Iskander-M missiles - port and civilian infrastructure was damaged, as well as a civilian vessel under the flag of Antigua. Four people were injured, said OVA head Oleg Kiper.

16:17 Zelensky said that he intends to present a plan for victory to Biden on September 26.

16:08 The Russian Armed Forces fired artillery at Konstantinovka in Donetsk Oblast, wounding five people, the regional prosecutor’s office reported.

16:04 The IAEA adopted a resolution on nuclear safety in Ukraine, calling on Russia to immediately de-occupy the Zaporizhzhya NPP. The document was supported by 65 votes, with 52 agency member states co-sponsoring it. The resolution confirms that Ukrainian nuclear power plants, including the Zaporizhzhya NPP, must operate under the full sovereign control of Ukraine. Russia is also required to provide the IAEA with unlimited access to all facilities and information at the plant until the Zaporizhzhya NPP is returned to Ukrainian control.

15:20 Ukraine is living according to "plan B" because there has never been "plan A", Zelensky said: "Yesterday a journalist asked me a question: what will happen if Biden does not support your plan, do you have a "plan B"? I answered frankly: we are already in "plan B". We live and fight in it. We never had "plan A". Because "plan A" was to prevent a full-scale invasion, to strengthen Ukraine with weapons and preemptively sanction the Russian Federation so that it would be afraid even of the thought of a full-scale invasion."

The president also noted that his peace plan is designed for quick decisions by partners, "which should take place from October to December without delay - then it will work." According to the head of state, most decisions on the plan depend on Biden and other allies. "But there are points that depend on the positive will and support of the United States," Zelensky added.

15:11 A group of Ukrainian pilots has completed a six-month training course in France, the General Staff of the French Armed Forces reported. The pilots trained under an abbreviated program on Alphajet aircraft, whose instrument panel imitates the panel in the F-16.

15:03 An entire thermal power plant in Lithuania is currently being dismantled and transferred to Ukraine in parts, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said during her visit to Kiev. She also said that Ukraine will independently determine how to spend 35 billion euros in loans from the European Commission. The funds will be directed, in particular, to defense, energy, and domestically produced weapons - long-range drones and air defense, Zelensky specified.

14:54 Employees of government agencies, military formations and critical infrastructure facilities have been banned from using Telegram on official devices, the National Security and Defense Council press service reported. The agency explained that Russian intelligence services may have access to the personal correspondence of Telegram users (even deleted messages), as well as their personal data.

14:15 There is a new stage of tension in relations between Ukraine and Poland. Historical disputes are re-emerging, and Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has even suggested transferring Russian-occupied Crimea under a UN mandate and preparing it for a "fair referendum." Read more in the article Scandal with Poland's statement.

13:23 The European Commission will provide Ukraine with a loan of up to 35 billion euros as part of the G7 commitment. "This is another major contribution by the EU to the recovery of Ukraine," said EC President Ursula von der Leyen.

12:41 The constant flights of "shahids" into Ukraine are an element of reconnaissance, said the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko. He explained that for the Russian Federation, "shahids" remain precisely a strike weapon at close range, and as for long range, their main function is reconnaissance.

"The increase in the production of tin cans also has its own goal - they want to reach almost a round-the-clock attack mode in the future, so that alarms in the regions become habitual. But two can play this game. And unlike us, Russian air defense is of a pinpoint nature and is not capable of fully covering Russia from UAVs. And the increase in the intensity of attacks in general will lead to more regular failures of the Russian air defense, like Toropets," predicts Kovalenko.

11:59 Russians are accommodating refugees from Sudzha in the Kursk region in Mariupol, said the mayor's adviser Petr Andryushchenko. According to him, Russian refugees are staying in temporary accommodation centers set up by the United Russia party. The "authorities" of the occupiers have chosen stolen Ukrainian property in the Primorsky district of Mariupol, not far from the sea, as a place for the refugees to stay.

11:27 A Russian drone has flown in close proximity to the Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant for the second time in recent days, said OVA head Serhiy Tyurin.

10:08 Air defense destroyed 61 out of 70 Shahed attack UAVs at night, another nine enemy drones were lost in several regions of Ukraine, the Air Force reported. In addition, the Russian army attacked the Donetsk region with three missiles of an unspecified type, and the Dnipropetrovsk region with a guided aircraft missile Kh-59, which was also shot down. Air defense forces worked in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Mykolaiv, Odessa and Kherson regions.

09:35 In the Kherson region, over the past day, five people were injured as a result of Russian shelling, reported the head of the OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin.

09:14 In Donetsk Oblast, three people were killed as a result of Russian shelling on September 19: two in Chasovy Yar and one in Konstantinovka. Another eight people in the oblast were injured in the past 24 hours, said OVA head Vadim Filashkin.

08:53 In the morning, Russians fired from MLRS at a farm in the village of Shestakovo, Chuguevsky district, Kharkiv region, two people were wounded, reported the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov. In addition, the day before, one person was injured as a result of enemy shelling in the urban-type settlement of Vilcha, Chuguevsky district, and another in the city of Kupyansk.

08:31 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of September 20:

  • personnel - about 639,480 (+1,340) people,

  • tanks - 8725 (+20),

  • combat armored vehicles - 17,132 (+39),

  • artillery systems - 18,212 (+35),

  • MLRS - 1189 (+0),

  • air defense systems - 949 (+2),

  • aircraft - 369 (+0),

  • helicopters - 328 (+0),

  • Operational-tactical level UAVs - 15,469 (+52),

  • cruise missiles - 2593 (+1),

  • ships/boats - 28 (+0),

  • submarines - 1 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tank trucks - 24,898 (+59),

  • special equipment - 3115 (+6).

08:16 President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced that she had arrived in Kiev.

07:20 In Lviv Oblast, air defense forces shot down an enemy attack drone, and as a result of falling debris, a fire broke out in one of the villages on the territory of a former collective farm. The fire was quickly extinguished, three cars were damaged, and windows were broken in nearby residential buildings. No one was hurt, said OVA head Maksym Kozitsky.

02:48 The US Department of Defense is working with Congress to extend the president's authority to release all remaining funds for military support to Ukraine beyond the end of the fiscal year on September 30, said Deputy Pentagon Spokesperson Sabrina Singh, who assured that the government intends to "use every dollar and cent."

According to her, there are currently $5.8 billion in unused funds within the presidential powers for Ukraine. At the same time, Singh noted that the US Department of Defense cannot provide military assistance now, since there is nothing to replenish the reserves necessary to maintain the level of its own combat readiness. She recalled that for a long time, while Congress was adopting a large-scale aid package for Ukraine, the Pentagon could not replenish its reserves. Singh also assured that there is bipartisan agreement in Congress to support Ukraine.

The Whistleblower complaint that was submitted to the SEC today reads:

“I have heard and observed conversations and have evidence in hand of ABC News, a wholly owned subsidiary of Disney Media Networks, which is a division of The Walt Disney Company, collusion between ABC news and the Kamala Harris campaign for the Presidency of the United States. It is my belief from the context of the conversations, that ABC news in the debate held on September 10, 2024, and at other various times before and after this debate to influence the Presidential election. I would like to emphatically state, that I am not a Donald Trump supporter and have never voted for Donald Trump. The context of the conversations heard and among other observations is that ABC News is working with the Kamala Harris campaign, and that Disney may exact monetary or other future considerations if they aid in the election of Kamala Harris. I have sat idly by for years and watched the media on both sides of the political spectrum become nothing more than campaign ads for politicians. It is clear that there are multiple considerations being exchanged in this current Presidential campaign. I have enclosed further evidence for your consideration. Please note, this evidence contains personal information of mine and I wish for it to remain undisclosed for safety considerations for my family.”

#1  I think we will not see a statement by ABC. If backed into a corner skillfully, the defense that it was not illegal might be squeezed out of them. If Harris wins the election, someone will document what happened in a celebratory tell all book. That said I don’t think Harris will win and I don’t think we will see another presidential debate moderated by a news organization with an editorial bias.

‘Chinese hacking typhoons' threaten U.S. infrastructure - Prelude to Taiwan or Something More Global?
[Axios] The Chinese government is running another broad campaign to hack as many American organizations as possible — heightening the threat across critical infrastructure.

Why it matters: The new hacking campaign suggests China could hold more expansive power to turn off key U.S. infrastructure than previously thought.

Driving the news: FBI director Christopher Wray said at the Aspen Cyber Summit on Wednesday that the bureau and its partners hijacked thousands of devices last week that a Chinese hacking group had infected with malware.

  • Flax Typhoon, a new China-backed hacking team, infected home routers, firewalls, storage devices, and Internet of Things devices like cameras and video recorders.

Zoom in: As of June, Flax Typhoon's botnet included more than 260,000 malware-infected devices across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia and Australia, according to a U.S. government advisory.

  • Half of the hijacked devices were located in the U.S., Wray said in his remarks.

  • Security researchers at Black Lotus Labs said in a coinciding report that hackers have used the botnet to target U.S. and Taiwanese organizations in the military, government, higher education, telecommunications, defense and IT sectors.

  • The FBI also alleged that the Flax Typhoon hackers worked for Integrity Technology Group, a Chinese tech company that does contract work for Beijing's intelligence agencies.

  • The FBI also said that Integrity Technology Group operated and controlled the botnet.

Threat level: A senior administration official told reporters that while Flax Typhoon is focused solely on espionage, its more destructive counterpart, Volt Typhoon, shared some of the infrastructure for its attacks.

The big picture: The threat of China lurking inside U.S. and other global networks is now existential for American companies and government agencies, Tom Fanning, former executive chairman at electric power operator Southern Company, told Axios.

  • "While Flax Typhoon is the latest manifestation of a nation-state attacking the private sector, we do know that these things happen all the time," Fanning said.

  • Officials worry that China is establishing these footholds in networks tied to the U.S. and its allies so it can cause societal panic and trade disruptions during a potential Taiwan invasion.

Flashback: Earlier this year the country's top cybersecurity officials warned Congress about Volt Typhoon and shared that they had taken down that hacking group's own network of infected devices.

  • Volt Typhoon, a hacking group first publicly unveiled in May 2023, has gained access to several major critical infrastructure organizations, including a West Coast port, a utility in Hawaii, and at least one oil and gas pipeline.

  • Similar to Flax Typhoon, this group also targeted routers to gain initial access to these systems.

Yes, but: Botnet takedowns aren't a foolproof fix for taking down hackers, especially nation-state actors.

  • Despite a successful botnet takedown in January, Volt Typhoon has remained a persistent threat to critical infrastructure, officials have warned.

  • Cybercriminal gangs have quickly found workarounds after the government seized their botnets.

Between the lines: Operations like the one targeting Flax Typhoon still make it "riskier, costlier and harder" for nation-states to spy and hack U.S. critical infrastructure, Anne Neuberger, deputy national security adviser for cyber and emerging tech, told reporters.

What we're watching: Wray warned that the Flax Typhoon operation is just "one round in a much longer fight."

Stopping future threats will require the private sector and government to strengthen collaboration to get "as much of a real-time view of what's happening as possible," Fanning added.

Can You Hack A Pager To Explode...?
[YouTube] Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at an alarming situation regarding a supply chain attack that led to a few pagers quite literally popping off. How does anyone concoct such a complicated plan? Let's find out!

#2  #1 Too long; didn't listen. Could somebody do the Cliff Notes version, Please?

Walt (3dc) and I discussed this on Facebook Messenger:

I think the PETN was ignited when the Israelis sent a worm/virus to the pager exploiting a flaw in the remote charging feature of the pager, sparking an electrical charge strong enough to detonate the explosive.

YMMV

#3  Many IED's in Iraq and Afghaniztan were set off remotely via cell phone calls. When the target vehicle reached a certain place in the road (visible from a safe distance), the bad guys punched in the call. The ring on the second phone set off the charge. Similar principal to pager bombs. Remote detonation.

A new, updated twist on Viet era Project Eldest Son. Similar electronic satellite tracking technologies were used effectively in Afghanistan. If it emits a signal, it can be monitored from space. These explodie pagers appeared to be loaded with secondary explodie number.

(Graphic depicts remote, acoustic sensor ground monitoring device dropped along the Ho Chi Minh trail in Vietnam. Some trail sensors were emplaced or re-emplaced 'by hand' via very brave fellows who parachuted in and exfiltrated by walking South).

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Four Russian servicemen have been charged with the death of the American.
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Note: Bentley was a convicted American drug smuggler, originally from Minnesota.

Text taken from the V Kontakte page of Informant.

[VK] The Investigative Committee has completed the preliminary investigation into the murder of Sputnik correspondent Russell Bentley.

According to investigators, on April 8, 2024, in Donetsk, servicemen Vansyatsky, Agaltsev and Iordanov used physical violence and torture against him, resulting in his death. On the same day, Vansyatsky and Agaltsev blew up a VAZ 2115 car
…apparently some sort of Lada…
with his body with a TNT block.

On April 9, 2024, on the instructions of Vansyatsky, a serviceman of the same military unit, Bazhin, committed concealment of a particularly serious crime by moving Bentley's remains from the scene of the incident.

It is too early to talk about the trial date while the accused are familiarizing themselves with the materials of the criminal case. According to the law, the case will then be transferred to the prosecutor's office for approval of the indictment and sending to court.

▫Russell Bentley is a 64-year-old American who fought on the side of the DPR. He was a war correspondent. He is married to a Russian. According to her, on the afternoon of April 8, she and her husband came "on personal business" to the executive committee of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, where the couple had lived for the past several years. At that moment, shelling from the Ukrainian Armed Forces began.

Russell was said to have gone to help the wounded, after which he disappeared. At the same time, the war correspondent's white Niva, which was parked near the motor pool, disappeared.

Aurora Police deny Tren de Aragua gang has 'taken over' the city in presser: 'Not an immigration issue'
[FoxNews] The Aurora Police Department hosted a press conference on Friday after surveillance footage showing a group of armed men in an apartment building garnered national attention last month.

In the presser, APD Chief Todd Chamberlain shared that three of the armed suspected Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang members in the video have been served arrest warrants on charges of first-degree burglary and menacing with a firearm. Three more from the video have not been identifiable.

Aurora Police is still actively searching for Andersen Zambrano-Pacheco, 25, and Niefred Serpa-Acosta, 20. Naudi Lopez-Fernandez, 21, is in custody.

Chief Chamberlain said it was a "challenge" to verify gang affiliation with suspected Tren de Aragua members. Tren de Aragua, a transnational prison gang based in Venezuela, has approximately 5,000 members.

"Many of these individuals that we are talking about come from a country which does not have, strong relationships with the United States, comes from a country that does not have, a database that they are going to share or have shared," said Chamberlain. "So being able to identify these actual individuals as TdA gang members has been a struggle.

"At this time, none of the six men [in the video] have been connected to an organized criminal organization," reads an Aurora PD statement shared to X.

Chamberlain also stressed during the conference that the Aurora PD's focus is on criminal behavior. Earlier this month, Aurora announced the arrest of 10 "documented" Tren de Aragua members. Charges from those arrests include child abuse, attempted first-degree murder, illegal discharge of a firearm, and others.

"The Aurora Police Department targets criminals based upon their actions and not on their immigration status," said Chamberlain. "Immigration status is enforced by federal laws, by federal issues."

On September 5, ICE confirmed to Fox News that four Tren de Aragua members arrested in Aurora in relation to a July shooting were in the United States illegally from Venezuela.

Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky insists that the city needs more help from the federal government to address the problem.

"Immigration is the job of the federal government, and that's why we need help," said Jurinsky in an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital.

"Our ICE detention facility will fill up, and then what? Venezuela doesn't just get to decide after clearing out their prisons that they're not going to take anyone back. The federal government needs to provide a plan," added Jurinsky.

"This is not an immigration issue. It's a crime issue," said chief Chamberlain during the press conference. "That is for the federal [government]. The immigration aspect is for the federal, it's for what they focus on. It's what they've done. It's what comes out of federal government. It comes out of the White House."

Since the beginning of the Biden administration, there have been nearly 8 million encounters with illegal aliens at the southwest border, according to the House Committee on Homeland Security.

Fox News' Alicia Acuna asked Aurora PD Chief Todd Chamberlain about the popular narrative about gangs having "taken over" the city during the press conference on Friday.

"I can tell you right now, gangs are not in control of the city of Aurora," answered Chamberlain. "If you walk away with anything, that's what I will say. Are there gangs in the city of Aurora? Yes. There are. Are there gangs in most major cities throughout the United States? 100% there are."

The Aurora Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Texas man gets in shootout with a robot, loses and is then arrested in wild video
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Wild footage showed a Texas man's outrageous attempt to outsmart a police robot that ended with him being tear-gassed and rammed by the droid.

Felix Delarosa, 39, was arrested after he opened fire on police in Lubbock, Texas, with the incident turning into a SWAT standoff, according to local station KCBD.

Delarosa opened fire on anti-gang cops
…from this should we conclude that Mr. Delarosa is a gangster?
who tried to make contact with him at a hotel he was staying at, and repeatedly refused orders from SWAT negotiators.

This prompted police to send in their bomb squad robot, which was also shot at by the wanted man.

As the bot approached Delarosa's room, the former inmate could be seen stepping outside to cover the bot with what appeared to be either a blanket or towel.

Delarosa appeared to think he had bested the machine, but the officer controlling it shook off the fabric and deployed tear gas into his room through an open window.

The convict could then be seen crawling out through the open window and dropping onto the floor.

A disoriented Delarosa covered his face and struggled to get up but the robot then started driving over him, pulling his shorts down and exposing red underwear.

It continue to ram him and eventually pinned him against a wall so that SWAT officers could safely move in and make an arrest.

Delarosa is now charged with aggravated assault against a public servant
…the robot?? That seems a bit excessive…
following a standoff that lasted nearly two hours.

Police had originally gone to look for Delarosa because there was a warrant out for his arrest due to a parole violation for tampering with his electronic monitoring device. In 2017, Delarosa was sentenced to 20 years in prison for manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance.
He looks like a meth guy
Delarosa was released from prison and placed on parole in April 2022, according to state prison records.

Chinese official convicted of corruption has 58 lovers boyfriends
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] A Chinese court has sentenced official Zhong Yang to 13 years in prison for having affairs with 58 subordinates, the South China Morning Post reported on September 19.
Ick.
Zhong Yang, who headed the Qiannan Bui-Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province, was convicted of accepting bribes totaling 60 million yuan (US$11.5 million) and misconduct, including having sex with subordinates.

The court sentenced the official to a fine of 1 million yuan (about 13 million rubles), and on September 1 she was expelled from the ranks of the Communist Party of China.

As the publication noted, Zhong Yang became a party member at the age of 22 and was able to build an impressive career: she was appointed governor and deputy secretary of the party committee of Qiannan-Bui-Miao County.
Emphasis on "party"
At that time, the politician was even nicknamed "the handsome governor" for her striking appearance. According to the publication, Zhong Yang, among other things, loved to visit nightclubs.

Complaints began to come in from businesses that she had refused patronage to. One entrepreneur said Zhong Yang had neglected companies that had no personal connection to her, which had stifled the growth of private business in the region.

In April 2023, the Guizhou government launched an investigation into the official, which revealed that Zhong Yang had accepted large bribes. For example, she approved the development of 170,000 square meters of land in a high-tech industrial zone for a businessman with whom she had a close relationship. He later transferred the land for development, from which Zhong Yang made a significant profit.

In October 2022, China's top anti-graft official Xiao Pei publicly announced that China had effectively curbed the spread of corruption since the 18th Communist Party Congress in 2012. Some 80,000 officials had voluntarily confessed to their wrongdoings over the past five years.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, on September 18, a Moscow court seized a penthouse belonging to the wife of Yevgeny Makovsky, acting director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums and Enterprise for the Production of Bacterial Preparations,” who is accused of attempted bribery. He was arrested at the end of last year while attempting to receive a bribe of 19 million rubles from Rusbiopharm. In exchange for the money, he promised to extend the contract for the supply of Convasel COVID-19 vaccines.

'Sleep, Dear Mommy': Searchers Look for Relatives of Woman Tortured to Death by Gestapo Near Rostov
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Rostov] Rostov searchers have begun work at the site of the Nazis' mass murder of children and disabled people

by Dmitry Kutepov

Searchers are conducting reconnaissance at the site of the mass execution of people using special equipment.

In the Aksaysky district of the Rostov region, searchers have begun work in the so-called “execution field,” where the fascists set up a place of genocide against the Donetsk people.

The head of the search group Mius-Front, Andrei Kudryakov, told KP Rostov-on-Don about who might be buried there.

The "Execution Field" is located between Rostov and Novocherkassk, if you drive along the old Rostov road. Now it is the territory of the Aksaysky district.

— It is a terrible place because during the war, many residents of Cossack farmsteads and villages, as well as Novocherkassk, were killed there by the Nazis. It is believed that many of them are buried on this “execution field.”

At that time, there was a deep anti-tank ditch there — one of Rostov's defense lines. Local residents were killed either because of disloyalty or because of violating the Nazi regime. For example, a person could die for appearing on the street during curfew or for not following some order.

EXTRA PEOPLE
— But the most terrible thing was that, according to our assumptions, disabled children from the Novocherkassk boarding school and 95 patients of the Novocherkassk psychiatric hospital are buried there. It is possible that some employees were also killed there.

These murdered children from Novocherkassk became proof of how the Nazi party program of exterminating people with psychological or physical disabilities was implemented. In their view, they were all superfluous people who did not need to be fed, treated, but simply liquidated.

And this fact cannot be forgotten, because completely helpless people were exterminated here. All this speaks of two worldviews. If in Russia special attention was always paid to the mentally ill and children with disabilities, houses were built, they were sent to sanatoriums, they tried to treat them, then in Nazi Germany they were simply exterminated.

But perhaps the most terrible thing, added Andrei Kudryakov, is that this place, comparable in its emotional content to Zmievskaya Balka, has been forgotten by almost everyone in our time.

SCALE UNKNOWN
So, how many people are buried there is still not even approximately known.

— During the occupation of Novocherkassk, 1,070 people were killed. But in the city, burial and execution sites of slightly less than 200 people were found. And how many were killed in the Aksaysky district, in the farmsteads and villages, we still do not know.

In addition, the Germans often intercepted columns of refugees who were trying to escape the occupation and were leaving the territory of Ukraine for Stalingrad.

— That’s why we want to conduct an expedition there to understand at least approximately how many people were killed there. And, of course, to draw attention to this absolutely terrible place.

People's Monument at the Site of the Mass Execution

Now, the only reminder that the field was a place of mass execution of people is a public monument.

— There is a plaque on it: “Galushkina E.F., brutally tortured by the Gestapo on January 9, 1943. Sleep, dear mother. From her husband and daughter.”

We don’t know who this woman is yet, but we are trying to find her relatives and friends to find out her fate and why she ended up in the Gestapo. So far we know that the Novocherkassk Gestapo was exterminating members of the anti-fascist movement. Perhaps she belonged to one of the underground cells.

In the meantime, searchers are conducting reconnaissance at the site of the shootings, using geomagnetic devices for this purpose. In this way, they plan to establish the approximate location where human remains are located in the ground.

— Then we will resolve the issue with the owner of the land, a local farmer, about the time when we can begin excavations at this site.

There are currently arable fields there. But what exactly will happen in place of the "execution field" is still unknown.

- It depends on the consciousness of our society. For now, this national monument is maintained only at the expense of local residents, the same farmer, residents of the Aksaysky district and Novocherkassk.

At the same time, Andrei Kudryakov assured that this place will definitely be included in the excursion route to the sites of the genocide of the civilian population of the Rostov region, which is being conducted by the search teams of the Mius-Front.

Georgia Election Board Approves Rule Requiring Hand Count of Ballots; AZ Supreme Court rules 98,000 unconfirmed citizens can vote in November
[Epoch Times] The Georgia Election Board has approved a new rule requiring election workers to hand count ballots in the November election and confirm that the numbers match machine counts before the vote can be certified.

The rule, which was first proposed in August, passed in a 3—2 vote on the morning of Sept. 20, making Georgia the only state in the union to adopt such a requirement as part of its standard vote-counting.

Advocates have framed the proposed rules as common-sense measures to bolster election security. Supporters of the hand-count rule, specifically, have argued it would help increase public trust in the voting process.

Critics, such as the Georgia Association of Voter Registration and Election Officials (GAVREO), say the proposed rules are, on the whole, impractical, poorly written, and inefficient in achieving their intended goals.

"We respectfully ask that these proposed rules, and any other petitions for rulemaking, be tabled until 2025," the group wrote in a Sept. 17 letter to the election board.

Arizona Supreme Court rules 98,000 people whose citizenship is unconfirmed can vote in pivotal election

[FoxNews] Nearly 98,000 people whose U.S. citizenship has not been confirmed will be allowed to vote in the upcoming state and local elections, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled Friday.

The ruling came after a "coding oversight" in state software prompted the swing state's Democratic Secretary of State Adrian Fontes to insist that he would send out ballots to those affected anyway.

The database error called into question the citizenship status of 100,000 registered Arizona voters, affecting individuals who obtained their driver’s licenses before October 1996, and subsequently received duplicates before registering to vote after 2004.

Fontes and Stephen Richer, the Republican Maricopa County recorder, disagreed on what status the voters should hold following the "coding oversight."

"This was discovered not because somebody was voting illegally and not because somebody was attempting to vote illegally, as far as we can tell," Fontes said at a Tuesday afternoon news conference. "And this was basic voter roll maintenance, and it showed us that there is this issue."

Richer filed a special action Tuesday asking the state Supreme Court to settle the question.

"It is my position that these registrants have not satisfied Arizona’s documented proof of citizenship law, and therefore can only vote a ‘FED ONLY’ ballot," Richer wrote on X.

Arizona's proof of citizenship law uniquely requires voters to prove their citizenship to participate in local and state races.

The 36-Star Flag was the official United States flag from July 4th,1865, to July 4th, 1867, following the admission of Nevada into the Union on October 31st, 1864.
If you discount Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Illinois, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland, this is what it looks like!
