[AnNahar] Israel conducted several rounds of air strikes on Hezbollah's main bastion in the southern suburbe of Beirut, sending huge clouds of smoke soaring above the densely populated area.
Friday's strikes were heard across the Mediterranean city and sparked panic in the residential area that has been Hezbollah's main stronghold for decades.
They were by far the fiercest strikes to hit Beirut's suburbs since Israel shifted its focus from the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... to Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... this week, pounding Hezbollah strongholds around the country and killing hundreds of people.
Israeli television networks reported that Hezbollah chief Sayyed ...Arabic term meaning your/his lordship. Groveling in His Exalted Presence is encouraged... His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...> was the target of the first violent mostly peaceful strike, though a source close to the group said he was "fine". "He's pining for the fjords"
Nasrallah enjoys cult status among his supporters and is the only man in Lebanon with the power to wage war or make peace, but he leads a life in hiding to avoid liquidation.
The Israeli army claimed early Saturday that its air strikes killed "Muhammad Ali Ismail, the commander of Hezbollah's missile unit in southern Lebanon, and his deputy," as well as "other bigwigs.".l
The strikes felt "like an earthquake", according to Ahmad Ahmad, who fled his house in the southern suburbs.
A teacher in her 40s, Abir Hammoud, said: "I felt like the building was going to collapse on top of me."
The strikes were followed by a second bombing hours later, which Israel's military said targeted Hezbollah weapons stored in buildings in the area, a claim the group denied.
Hezbollah started fighting Israeli troops along the Lebanon border a day after its Paleostinian ally Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... staged its unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed in an address to world leaders on Friday that there would be no let-up in the battle against Hezbollah until Israel's northern border was secured.
- WARNING TO CIVILIANS -
A source close to Hezbollah said the initial wave of strikes had levelled six buildings, and according to a preliminary toll, six people were killed and 91 maimed.
Israeli military front man Daniel Hagari said the strike had targeted "the central headquarters" of Hezbollah in the southern suburbs of the city.
After the Beirut strikes, Hezbollah said it had fired more rockets into Israel "in defense of Lebanon and its people". There were no immediate reports of casualties.
The Israeli military warned civilians in parts of Hezbollah's south Beirut stronghold to evacuate the area before conducting its second bombing.
It also said it would not allow Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... to transfer weapons to its ally Hezbollah through Beirut airport -- adding that its jets were ready to intervene should any such transfers be detected.
Israel's army said the second wave of strikes had targeted Hezbollah targets in the Tyre area of southern Lebanon.
- 'DEADLIEST IN A GENERATION' -
The U.N. has repeatedly condemned this week's sharp escalation of violence in Lebanon.
"We are witnessing the deadliest period in Lebanon in a generation, and many express their fear that this is just the beginning," the U.N. humanitarian coordinator in Lebanon, Imran Riza, said.
In Israel, too, many were weary of the violence.
"It is incredibly exhausting to be in this situation. We don't really know what's going to happen, there's talk of a ground offensive or a major operation," said Lital Shmuelovich, a physiotherapy student.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken ...71st United States secretary of state and a leading light of the corrupt and inept Biden administration. He previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under the corrupt and inept Obama administration. He advocated for the 2003 invasion of Iraq while serving as the Democratic staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2002 to 2008. He was a foreign policy advisor for the Biden 2008 presidential campaign. During his tenure in the Obama administration, Blinken helped craft B.O.'s policy on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the nuclear program of Iran. We all saw how well each of those worked. After leaving government service, Blinken moved into the private sector, co-founding WestExec Advisors, a lobbying firm... appealed again for a ceasefire, after a U.S.-led bid for a truce failed earlier this week.
"The path to diplomacy may seem difficult to see at this moment, but it is there, and in our judgement, it is necessary," Blinken said.
In New York, Netanyahu also addressed the war in Gaza, saying that Israel's military would continue to fight Hamas until it achieved "total victory."
Diplomats have said efforts to end the war in Gaza were key to halting the fighting in Lebanon and bringing the region back from the brink of all-out war.
But despite months of mediation efforts, a Gaza ceasefire remains elusive.
Hamas' October 7 attack resulted in the deaths of 1,205 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on Israeli official figures that include hostages killed in captivity.
Of the 251 hostages seized by bad boys, 97 are still held in Gaza, including 33 the Israeli military says are dead.
Israel's retaliatory military offensive has killed at least 41,534 people in Gaza, most of them civilians, according to figures provided by the Hamas-run territory's health ministry. The U.N. has described the figures as reliable.
- 'CHANGE THE RULES' -
The Lebanon violence has raised fears of wider turmoil in the Middle East, with Iran-backed murderous Moslems across the region vowing to keep up their fight with Israel.
Netanyahu took aim at Iran in his U.N. General Assembly address, saying: "I have a message for the tyrants of Tehran. If you strike us, we will strike you."
He added: "There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach, and that's true of the entire Middle East."
Analysts have said Iran would try to resist being dragged into the conflict.
But following the Beirut strikes, Iran's embassy in Lebanon said: "This reprehensible crime... represents a dangerous escalation that changes the rules of the game."
Iran's president, Masoud Pezeshkian, later condemned the strikes, branding them a "flagrant war crime".

Israel Update:
This is going to be a historic update! I will have some info and some images that you’re not likely to see elsewhere. I will also follow with some footage that is not very available.
But it is a special update because of the happenings, the content. I will also add some dark humor of you don’t mind.
For decades we were told by Experts and Ex-Generals that a war with Hizbollah means hundreds and even thousands of missiles on all of Israel daily. They have 150,000-200,000 missiles including many precision missiles that can hit the International Airport, the Air Force Bases, the Power Grid and water grid, and maybe even the Nuclear site.
We were told that it would be hundreds or thousands of casualties.
What just happened is going to be studied in Military schools for generations. I must say that there is a biblical aspect in my opinion. I will describe:
First Israel got Gaza to a point that they are almost defeated. I can tell it because they basically no longer firing rockets at Israel, no longer killing IDF soldiers every week, the IDF is saying that all their battalions aside for one are designated and Hezbollah has no longer the military structure but is a guerrilla force now. There is still a lot to demolish and Hamas is still able to survive by stealing the Humanitarian Aide and selling it. But we are now started to take it seriously and put an end to it. So the situation enables relatively small forces to hold the fort and get attention and Forces to Lebanon.
It started with a targeted Assassination in Beirut. The Chief of Operations who was also the Acting Chief of Staff, after the IDF eliminated the Chief of Staff not long before, was eliminated under a building with the majority of the Command of their most significant Force. The Radwan Force that was planing an invasion to Israel 10/7 style.
This was on top of quite a few other assassination of their high command.
Just when you thought it is over, the next day or so came the Beeper attack, something that was never seen before in the world.
The Mossad replaced the beepers of Hezbollah, thousands of them, and in a push of a button thousands of terrorists were killed or injured. Apparently some 1,500 terrorists will never be able to fight due to serious injuries or death. This is the lower number, could be much more.
While I was partially skeptical as to “why the ground forces are not following and using the commotion to their advantage”? I also mentioned that there may be a larger plan in motion. And there was!
The next day the Walkie Talkies, hundreds of other Hizbollah terrorists were killed or injured.
The Situation with Hezbollah started to seem dire. Almost all their Command structure was already eliminated individually and now they can’t use communications safely and Lebanon started to get a notion or a feeling of Israel being some Godly power who has access to their communications, the IDF took over the radio and started to order evacuations where needed and their cellphones would receive calls to evacuate, those who should, some image of Israel controls everything. Soon enough the humiliation of Hezbollah was apparent in the Arab world. They kept firing into Israel who was aware that they are escalating and potentially would be deadly.
Now started the Operation Northern Arrows. 1,950 munition targets were blown up in a day or two. Then followed hundred of more munitions. It seemed like the IDF knows all the locations of storages to the level of single homes which had munitions in it.
Rapid evacuation orders to residents and boom.
Now when it seemed that Hezbollah lost at least 50% of its munitions, Biden and his Globalist group of Western Nations started a massive pressure to stop. I ranted about it. For a good reason. I was also not happy that Bibi is now going to give a speech in the UN when things are heating up. When he could be facing extreme pressure from the American “enemies” who seem to represent the bad part of America. Little did I know.
Now here is what I know: Netanyahu approved a hunt on Nassrallah the Leader of Hezbollah before he flew to the US. He got a confirmation of the Intel that Nassrallah is meeting with the Highest Command of Hezbollah and Iranians under some buildings in the Daieh Neighborhood of Beirut and he approved the attack a half an hour before the speech. (The speech was very good by the way). The neighborhood had already mainly evacuated because it’s the center of Hezbollah and they know they better be moving.
Days before Bibi flew, the IDF already prepared a “Package of Assassination” which means it organized constant loaded jet fighters in the air, ready to assassinate any Hamas leaders who the Intelligence will say are available. The trip to the US was used as a misdirector. This is for sure. I also read, not fully confirmed, that it was a trap to get Nasrallah go to where he would watch the speech. If that the case then it would be an irony that Nasrallah and his high command were watching Netanyahu just before they got killed. Their last pictures before death – Bibi’s speech.
Then came the attack. And I will post the video again. There are a few reports.
A repeating report says that there were some 60 bombs dropped on the bunker.
I doubt the number but I know that there were a few bunker buster bombs dropped.
Enough to make it impossible to survive it. The bunker was under buildings. It is not broadly published but Israel has some good bunker buster bombs. The Iranian Nuclear site in Fordow is apparently close to 300 Feet underground. For that the US came up with the MOAB (Mother of All Bombs). But only the B-2 fighter cab carry it and Israel doesn’t have it.
I don’t know if Israel worked out some confidential solution but I know Israel has the
GBU – 38 that is one below the MOAB. It can penetrate some 20 feet of concrete. It’s
2.3 tone and in Israel only the F-15 of the IAF can carry it. Israel also has lower level bunker buster bombs both made in the US and made in Israel. Those are less expensive and were used on tunnels in Gaza.
Anyways, Nasrallah was apparently in there with his high command and possibly top of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The precision was high and the number of civilians killed is apparently very small. A few buildings collapsed on the bunkers too.
Now sources from Hezbollah are saying that they lost contact with the Command and Nasrallah. And we say : “send them a beeper message”. It will take some days to dig out whatever is left in there but it is likely that Nasrallah was there.
Now as if it’s not enough today the IDF ordered an evacuation of areas in Beirut , the Shia neighborhood and said we are going to bomb strategic munitions of Hezbollah in Beirut. He was very specific where to evacuate. Then came massive attacks on Beirut from the air and Sea. I have a good video or few to see. Will follow.
Hezbollah is decimated. They have not managed to kill anyone in Israel. A few mild injuries and an Arab moderately injured. Thank you God. Your prayers are working.
And just now the Head of Hezbollah in South Syria was assassinated. He was responsible for rockets from Syria into Israel. They have no safe place to be and no safe electronics.
Hezbollah are not managing to fire significantly at Israel. They are crushed.
Now, I said it before and will repeat. The level of Intel is mind blowing. Mossad is wining this war with the IAF. I predict the ground troops will get South Lebanon up to the Litani River soon. I doubts that many Hezbollah are still there. It has been attacked for months.
The trick will be how to hold the area without bleeding and how to prevent a lengthy war of attrition. But when you hold the cards, you can set terms. Biden may have threatened Bibi against an invasion. But I think Bibi is using a window of opportunity because of the US elections. Any extreme US response will cost the DNC votes. Bibi knows US politics very well.
You may ask yourself how come the IDF messed up so bad on 10/7 and is so strong now in Lebanon? Well, we under-estimated Hamas and over-estimated Hezbollah. So the preparations for Hezbollah were much better. Also Mossad is operating in Lebanon, not much in Gaza, we have other agencies in Gaza.

Does the decimation of Hezbollah present an opportunity for other domestic Lebanese groups to expel the remains of this Iranian proxy from their country? I would think the Saidi’s would want to take advantage, especially as payback for the killing of Harriri. Am I engaging in wishful thinking?

Just think yesterday you were just another Hezhollah peon unworthy of a pager. Today you've been rapidly promoted to a exulted position within the organization and listing on a target list.

Does the decimation of Hezbollah present an opportunity for other domestic Lebanese groups to expel the remains of this Iranian proxy from their country?
It may be wishful thinking, but it is also an opportunity. The Leb's might want some reassurance about Iranian reprisals, but this might be their best opportunity vs waiting to pick up the pieces when the entire country is flattened.
[NYPOST] An Arizona State University student is in the hospital after being stabbed by a female classmate — who was looking for someone to knife and attacked the victim for being an "easier target."
Mara Daffron,19, was stabbed last Thursday after Kaci Sloan,19, jumped from her seat and plunged a knife into her twice as she entered a classroom in Glendale, Arizona, 12 News, AZ Central and FOX 10 Phoenix reported.
Sloan was allegedly deciding between two different people to attack in class, but decided to go after Daffron because Sloan "believed the victim was an easier target," court documents obtained 12 News said.
Daffron was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the stabbing and underwent surgery after the attack, police said.
Sloan was arrested soon after in connection with the stabbing, the ASU Police Department said.
Sloan came to class planning to hurt someone, according to court documents obtained by 12 News, although her exact motive remains unclear.
"The defendant admitted she came to class to hurt somebody and was planning the attack since the night prior," the documents said according to the outlet.
"This planning included placing the knife used in the attack in her backpack to bring to school. The defendant told detectives she knew the victim’s first name but did not know anything else about her. "
"She knew the victim from a prior class and shared a class with her this semester," the documents said.

[Rudaw] Three Kurdish security force members were killed in an Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. The Asayish, an internal security force, said ISIS attacked a vehicle of theirs on the Shaddadi-al-Hol highway, but did not provide further details.
"We pledge to follow in the footsteps of the deaders who sacrificed themselves in order to achieve the principles and values of establishing freedom, justice, and dignity," read a statement from the Asayish.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a war monitor that relies on a network of local sources within Syria, said an Asayish commander was among the dead.
"The attack was followed by violent mostly peacefulfestivities between the two sides, which led to the death of three members of Asayish Forces, including a commander, because the vehicle burned after a grenade that was inside the vehicle went kaboom! when a gunshot hit it during the festivities," the UK-based observatory said.
SOHR said it had documented 203 ISIS attacks in Rojava since early this year.

The military mission of the US-led coalition will wrap up "over the next twelve months, and no later than the end of September 2025, and transitioning to bilateral security partnerships in a manner that supports Iraqi forces and maintains pressure on ISIS," read a joint statement from the US and Iraq.
The statement also said that the anti-ISIS mission in Rojava will continue for another year after the one in Iraq ends.
"As Iraq is a key member of the Coalition, and to prevent the return of the ISIS terrorist threat from northeast Syria, and subject to conditions on the ground and consultations among Iraq, the United States, and the members of the Coalition, the military mission of the Coalition operating in Syria from a platform determined in the HMC will continue until September 2026," read the statement, referring to the US-Iraq Higher Military Commission which has overseen the negotiations.
US forces will continue operations at some level in Iraq through 2026 to support the coalition mission in Rojava, senior government and defence officials told news hounds on Friday.
"Our agreement with Iraq to maintain a presence in Iraq, of the coalition to conduct counter-ISIS operations in Syria through at least September 2026 is evidence of Iraq’s continued participation in that coalition as a member in good standing," said a senior defense official.
Over the next year in Iraq, the US will "stay connected in an advise-and-assist capacity with the counterterrorism services, the joint operations command, the air force, and the Kurdish Peshmerga, all of whom play a very important role in conducting counter-ISIS missions," the defense official said, adding that partnership beyond 2025 will be discussed.
The joint statement said the agreement was the result of nine months of "intensive" meetings.

[KhaamaPress] Pakistani media have reported that at least 25 people were killed and dozens more injured in the latest deadly clash between Shia and Sunni groups in the country’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Not Chicago
According to reports, the multi-day conflict between Shia and Sunni groups in northwestern Pakistan has raised concerns about the potential spread of religious tensions across the country.
On Wednesday, Pakistani officials confirmed the death toll at 25, with dozens more reported injured in the clashes.
This sectarian conflict took place in one of the most troubled regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, known as Kurram, which has previously witnessed similar tensions.
Pakistani media have noted that the Sunni and Shia groups in this area have a long history of conflict, primarily rooted in land disputes.
The report highlights the deep-rooted sectarian issues in Pakistan, which continue to pose a threat to the country’s internal stability.
The recurring nature of these conflicts in areas like Kurram underscores the need for comprehensive peacebuilding efforts to address religious and socio-economic factors. Addressing these longstanding issues is crucial for Pakistan’s security and promoting peaceful coexistence among its diverse communities.
[KhaamaPress] Andrey Rudenko, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, announced that removing the Taliban ...the once and current oppressors of Afghanistan... from Russia’s list of terrorist groups "will not be a quick process." He explained that it requires changes in Russian law.
In an interview with the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, Rudenko emphasized that this process is slow due to the necessary legal amendments in Russia.
Despite this, he added that Russia, like some other countries, is ready to develop cooperation with the Taliban.
However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable... Rudenko pointed out that such cooperation cannot happen until the Taliban is removed from the terrorist list.
In the interview, published on Thursday, Rudenko acknowledged that the Taliban holds power in Afghanistan and is a reality that must be recognized.
In June 2023, Russia’s special envoy to Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, said the proposal to remove the Taliban from the terrorist list had been submitted to President Vladimir Putin ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... for a final decision.
The potential removal of the Taliban from Russia’s terrorist list is under consideration but remains a complex process. Russia is consulting with its regional partners to determine how best to engage with the Taliban, recognizing their control in Afghanistan.

[ShabelleMedia] The Somali National Army executed a significant military operation in the Awdheegle district of the Lower Shabelle region today, targeting al-Shabaab ... the personification of Somali state failure... holy warriors, according to reports from local government officials.
The operation, which involved the 175th Division of the 17th Eagle Brigade and the 146th Division of the 14th October Brigade, was launched in the Jowhar-Awdheegle area, approximately 5 kilometers from Awdheegle.
The area has recently seen increased activity from al-Shabaab, with the group reportedly using the location for meetings and planning attacks against civilians.
A government blurb confirmed the success of the operation, stating that it resulted in the elimination of several al-Shabaab members, including senior officers. The release described the murderous Moslems as Khawarij, a term often used in the region to denote rebels or outlaws, particularly those following turban ideologies.
[Rudaw] The Kurdish authorities in northeast Syria (Rojava) decreed general amnesty on Tuesday for thousands of prisoners, excluding fighters and others who have committed violence.
According to a statement from the Democratic Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (DAANES), "1,120 of them were released in several batches immediately after the amnesty law was issued [on September 24]."
The amnesty excludes those who fought against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the leaders and trainers of terrorist organizations, and those guilty of bombings, treason, and espionage.
Rojava is controlled by the Kurdish-led SDF, the partnered ground force in Syria of the US-led international coalition against the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS).
"Only those whose hands were not stained with the blood of Syrians," are included, according to the statement which cited violations of DAANES law.
The remaining 400 convicts will be released after serving half of their sentences, provided their crime is covered by the amnesty law and "after ensuring their good conduct during the period [of their sentences]," the statement detailed.
Authorities said they pardoned 35 of the 63 female prisoners being held.
Following the military defeat of ISIS in Syria in Baghouz and Hajin in early 2019, the SDF detained tens of thousands fighters, their families, violent mostly peaceful criminals, and others for breaking the laws of the autonomous administration.
Iraqis and Syrians make up the majority of the 40,000 people who have been held at the al-Hol camp in Hasaka province. Iraq announced last week that it is in the process of repatriating 4,000 people from al-Hol, but those who have committed violent mostly peaceful crimes would not be granted return to the country. The camp has been branded a breeding ground for terrorism.
In July, Rojava authorities decreed another amnesty, saying it was a response to requests from tribal leaders during a May forum. It aimed to provide reintegration opportunities for individuals who also had not committed violence.
On Monday, Syrian state media reported that President Bashir al-Assad issued a decree to grant general amnesty for offenses prior to September 22, including obligatory military service breaches, deserting the military, and misdemeanors.
Assad’s reported amnesty does not include those guilty of "serious assault on society and the state, bribery, some misdemeanors of forgery, attacks on public morals, and some types of theft."
[Rudaw] Northeast Syria (Rojava) has experienced an increase in the severity of attacks in September by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) on points controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a conflict monitor reported on Wednesday.
ISIS conducted more than 19 operations in SDF-held areas like Deir ez-Zor from September 1 to September 25 resulting in deaths and injuries, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.
The SDF has been the partnered ground force in Syria of the US-led international coalition against ISIS.
Civilians additionally were targeted and had money extorted by ISIS, according to the SOHR, under the pretext of collecting 'zakat,' a payment on things like goods or property, in areas controlled by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES).
The monitor called the developments a dangerous escalation by ISIS cells.
Control of Deir ez-Zor province, which borders Iraq, is split between the SDF and the Iran-backed Syrian regime. It is also home to many of the country’s key oilfields, such as Omar and Conoco, which the global coalition helps the SDF to control.

Hezbollah claims rocket attacks on northern Israel
Hezbollah claims responsibility for rocket fire earlier this morning on northern Israel, but the terror group appears to have missed its intended target. In a statement, its first today, the terror group says it launched a barrage of Fadi-1 rockets at Kibbutz Kabri in the Western Galilee.
Despite Hezbollah’s claims, no sirens sounded in Kabri this morning. 10 rockets were launched toward the Safed area this morning, and one long-range projectile landed in the central West Bank, according to the IDF.
Five more rockets were launched at areas deep within northern Israel moments before Hezbollah’s announcement, but none of them were aimed at Kabri.

Smoke was seen rising from the Lebanese capital Beirut’s southern suburbs on Saturday after an apparent Israeli strike hit the area, a witness tells Reuters. The sound of a blast was heard across Beirut.
Top EU diplomat laments failure to ‘stop’ Netanyahu
EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell voices regret that no power, including the United States, can “stop” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying he appears determined to continue fighting in Lebanon and Gaza.
“What we do is to put all diplomatic pressure to a ceasefire, but nobody seems to be able to stop Netanyahu, neither in Gaza nor in the West Bank,” Borrell tells a small group of journalists as he attended the UN General Assembly.
Israel has repeatedly sparred with the top EU diplomat, and Foreign Minister Israel Katz recently accused him of being antisemitic.
An hour ago, the IDF directed Lebanese civilians to evacuate from several buildings in the Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut, a known Hezbollah stronghold.
Airstrikes have continued almost nonstop tonight in Lebanon following a strike that targeted Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
IDF conducts fresh wave of strikes in Beqaa Valley
The IDF tweets that it just finished conducting another series of strikes against Hezbollah sites, this time in the Beqaa Valley deep in Lebanese territory.
An hour earlier, IDF fighter jets struck other Hezbollah targets in Beirut, including munitions production sites, buildings where advanced munitions were stored and a command center, the army said.
This is the second time tonight that Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman, is making such an announcement.
In the previous one, the IDF published maps showing which sites would be targeted. This time Adraee suffices with describing the buildings that will be hit in two separate neighborhoods.
“We will continue operating to precisely dismantle Hezbollah’s offensive capabilities. Hezbollah has strategically embedded weapons in civilian areas, putting Lebanese civilians at risk in order to harm Israeli civilians,” the IDF says in a statement.
“Our war is with Hezbollah, not the people of Lebanon,” the army adds, echoing a statement it has used when describing its operations in Gaza — that its devastating war is not with Gazan civilians, rather Hamas, which carried out the October 7 onslaught.
Muhammed Ismail, the commander of Hezbollah’s rocket and missile unit in southern Lebanon, his deputy Hussein Ismail, and other commanders were killed in the strike.
The military does not detail when or where the strike took place.
The Hezbollah rocket and missile commander was responsible for numerous attacks on Israel amid the war, including Wednesday’s ballistic missile fire at Tel Aviv, according to the IDF.
“Just this morning, the Israeli regime used several 5,000-pound bunker busters that had been gifted to them by the United States to hit residential areas in Beirut,” he tells a UN Security Council meeting on the Middle East.
“One cannot disregard the US complicity in the crime.”
Earlier this evening, the IDF said it was striking three buildings in the Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut where Hezbollah stored Iranian anti-ship missiles. Other Hezbollah sites will also be hit in the Dahiyeh, military sources say.
It comes after the military carried out massive airstrikes on Hezbollah’s main headquarters in the Dahiyeh earlier on Friday, in an attack that targeted Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.
IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said earlier this evening that the military is still looking into the results of its strike on Hezbollah’s headquarters in Beirut, and would not be drawn on whether Nasrallah was killed. “We will update as soon as we know. Our strike was very accurate,” he said.
Until now, IDF strikes in Beirut had been “targeted assassinations” of top Hezbollah commanders. The latest strikes have been larger, and aimed at taking out infrastructure, along with top officials.
The coming days are expected to be complex, the military has assessed.
Biden orders US forces in Mideast to be adjusted ‘as necessary’
President Joe Biden has ordered US forces in the Middle East to be adjusted “as necessary,” the White House says, after Israel launched a wave of strikes in Lebanon’s capital Beirut targeting Hezbollah’s headquarters.
“He has directed the Pentagon to assess and adjust as necessary US force posture in the region to enhance deterrence, ensure force protection, and support the full range of US objectives,” the White House says in a statement.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to go ahead with his trip to the UN General Assembly despite the escalating fighting with Hezbollah “was part of a diversion” to lull Hassan Nasrallah into believing Israel wouldn’t target him while the premier was in New York, a senior Israeli official tells the Telegraph.
Nasrallah unreachable after Israeli strike — source close to terror group
Hezbollah’s head Hassan Nasrallah was unreachable following Israel’s strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday evening, a source close to the Lebanese armed group tells Reuters. Hours after the strikes, Hezbollah hasn’t made a statement on the fate of Nasrallah.
The official said Israel has vowed to dismantle Hamas' military and political regime in Gaza, but the goal in Lebanon is just to push Hezbollah away from the border with Israel. That is “not a high bar like Gaza” in terms of operational objectives, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with military briefing guidelines.
The official said that no decision has been made on whether Israel will carry out a ground operation in southern Lebanon. But he stressed that the military is training for this possibility every day and is ready to implement it.
He added that Israel still sees Resolution 1701, the United Nations-brokered resolution that ended the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah, as the best solution for lasting stability. But that the resolution must be enforced by an international force that is able to keep Hezbollah from setting up infrastructure close to the border with Israel. He said Israel’s fierce aerial bombardments this week, which killed more than 700 people in Lebanon, represent Israel’s decision to start enforcing the resolution on their own. Nicely stacked.

[IsraelTimes] Army says at least half of organization’s operatives have been killed in the war
The Israel Defense Forces assessed on Friday that Hamas ..one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,... has been largely defeated militarily in the entire Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip, and it is now effectively a guerrilla terror group that will take some more time to dismantle.
Hamas is not the same organization it was pre-October 7, in terms of its command and control, weapons, rockets, and operatives, at least half of whom have been killed, according to the military.
The IDF has labeled dismantling Hamas as the most important war goal in the south, but returning the hostages is a more urgent goal and it is receiving priority.
"If we wait, it is not certain that there will be anyone to return," the military is saying.
According to the IDF, before October 7, Hamas had some 30,000 fighters in the Gaza Strip, split into five regional brigades, 24 battalions and some 140 companies.
Each Hamas brigade had an anti-tank missile array, sniper and engineering teams, air defenses, and a rocket firing array, the IDF has said. Each brigade also had a number of outposts and strongholds in their respective regions.
The units have been systematically dismantled by the military over the long months of war.
The ongoing war began on October 7 when Hamas-led hard boyz rampaged through southern communities, slaughtering some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking 251 hostages to Gaza.
Israel launched its military operation, which has stretched for over 11 months, aiming to eliminate Hamas and bring back those kidnapped. In recent days, the military’s focus has shifted north to Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , as Israel began a sustained offensive against Hezbollah’s missile capabilities.
The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says more than 41,000 people in the Strip have been killed or are presumed dead in the fighting so far, though the toll cannot be verified and does not differentiate between civilians and fighters. Israel says it has killed some 17,000 combatants in battle and another 1,000 hard boyz inside Israel on October 7.
17,000 dead out of 30,000 Hamas plus perhaps another 5,000 others (pulling a number out of my hat), that is indeed about half the fighters dead, plus the same number or probably more wounded… that’s an awful lot of fighter casualties, right?
Israel has said it seeks to minimize civilian fatalities and stresses that Hamas uses Gazooks as human shields, fighting from civilian areas including homes, hospitals, schools, and mosques.
Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the Strip stands at 348.
[IsraelTimes] Senior Israeli official briefing reporters argues that Hezbollah leader is ‘lynchpin’ that has been keeping together an Iranian plot aimed at destroying Israel by 2040
By targeting Hezbollah’s leadership in a major Beirut Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... on Friday, Israel is hoping to avoid launching a ground invasion in Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , a senior Israeli official told news hounds on Friday.
The strike targeting Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...> and other brass hats in the terror group huddling at a main command center in Beirut’s Dahiyeh suburb was aimed at breaking Hezbollah, the bigwig explained during a briefing with news hounds on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address there earlier in the day.
The official claimed Israeli intelligence had uncovered an Iranian plan to encircle Israel and eliminate the Jewish state by 2040. However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday... Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... leader Yahya Sinwar jumped the gun by ordering the October 7 terror onslaught before other Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... proxies were ready.
Israel has been working to fend off this Iranian plot since October 7 but understood that Nasrallah was the "lynchpin" who could not be ignored.
Nasrallah has led Hezbollah for 32 years, and since October 7 has directed the terror group’s near daily cross-border attacks against Israel that have forced tens of thousands of civilians to evacuate border towns.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: "We cannot survive if we don’t stop this and reverse it," he said, referring to the threat to Israel from Iran-backed militia in the region.
"It’s impossible to reverse it without a general war. That was the assumption — a general war with Hezbollah, which entails the possibility of a broader war with Iran," he surmised.
"The other way to do it was to take him out. If you take him out, you not only neutralize that front — because nothing else will — but you also break a lynchpin. You break a central axis of the axis," the senior Israeli official claimed.
Nasrallah became secretary general of Hezbollah in 1992 at just 35, the public face of a once shadowy group founded by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Revolutionary Guard Corps in 1982 to fight Israeli forces who were then occupying southern Lebanon.
Israel killed Nasrallah’s predecessor, Sayyed ...Arabic term meaning your/his lordship. Groveling in His Exalted Presence is encouraged... Abbas al-Musawi, in a helizap.
The official defended Israel’s action when asked why killing Nasrallah would change the threat from Hezbollah when earlier liquidations of terror leaders had not hobbled their organizations.
"I think it’s different," the official said. "In many ways he keeps this thing focused, alive and kicking."
"Some people are irreplaceable. It happens. Some people do not have a substitute. That’s one of the cases, there’s no question," the official said.
"About 10 days ago or two weeks ago, the cabinet made a decision that we cannot have — after a year — Israelis who are basically refugees in their own land," the official said.
"So we added a formal war aim to bring our people back, to degrade Hezbollah’s power, to be able to push them back from the border, to destroy the infrastructure along the border, to change the balance of forces."
"The most important thing that we did was to try to take out about half of the missile and rocket capabilities that he built up over the last 30 years with Iran and to take it out in a few hours. And we did," the official said.
"I can’t tell you what will evolve, but I can tell you that this could be a pivot. We don’t seek a broader war. In fact, we seek not to have a broader war and Iran has to consider what it does now," the official said.
Israel has intensified its strikes against Hezbollah in recent days in order to ensure that the terror group doesn’t set a precedent by having forced tens of thousands of Israelis to evacuate their homes for such a long period of time, the official said.
He added that Israel now has momentum against Hezbollah and must keep acting forcefully in order to capitalize on recent gains.
While initial Israeli security assessments indicated that Nasrallah did not survive Friday’s strike, the bigwig said it could take weeks for Israel to confirm his death.
"I think it’s too early to say, but, you know, it’s a question of time. Sometimes they hide the fact when we succeed," the official told news hounds.
"Certainly if he’s alive, you’ll know it very immediately. If he’s dead, it may take some time," he added.
Asked whether Israel would now consider a ceasefire in Lebanon following Friday’s strike, the bigwig was non-committal.
On Thursday, Israel shrugged off a US-led attempt to implement a 21-day ceasefire.
"We are further along than we were, but [Hezbollah] still [has] thousands of rockets," the official said, adding that it would consider itself even closer if Nasrallah was killed in today’s strike. "But in war, when your guy is down, you keep moving."
Hezbollah is working a really negative ratio here. At the rate they’re going, they’ll be wiped out before Israel works up to a serious redecorating effort.

Amid the fresh rocket fire on northern communities, the IDF said that its fighter jets struck several Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon along with others deep within the country on Friday evening, continuing a new offensive against the terror group following almost a year of daily rocket fire on Israeli border communities and military posts. The targets included rocket launchers aimed at Israel and buildings used as weapon depots, the IDF said. Earlier on Friday, Hezbollah fired multiple rocket salvos at northern Israel, resulting in at least one injury, as the IDF continued to strike targets linked to the terror group in Lebanon and Syria.
In Tiberias, a 25-year-old Israeli man was moderately maimed after shrapnel following an interception of a rocket hit him, according to MDA, while two others were lightly hurt after falling while running for shelter during the sirens.
In Haifa, some of the 10 rockets launched from Lebanon on Friday morning were intercepted, while others struck open areas, according to the military. Reports said at least one rocket landed in the sea.
No injuries were reported in the barrage on Haifa, though there were reports that some shrapnel fell in the city. A spokesperson for the Haifa Port said there was no impact or shrapnel in the area of the port itself.
The IDF also said it had shot down four drones that crossed into Israeli airspace from Lebanon off the coast, near the town of Rosh Hanikra situated just south of the border.
Also Friday, the Iran-backed Islamic Resistance® in Iraq claimed to have launched drones and cruise missiles at Israel overnight, but no sirens sounded in Israel. As of Friday afternoon, the military said it was unaware of any projectiles reaching the country from Iraq.

Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... to a hack of the Trump campaign and to an attempted breach of the Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences... -Kamala Harris Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's' former mistress campaign. They said the hack-and-dump operation was meant to sow discord, exploit divisions within American society and potentially influence the outcome of elections that Iran perceives to be "particularly consequential in terms of the impact they could have on its national security interests."
Last week, officials also revealed that the Iranians in late June and early July sent unsolicited emails containing excerpts of the hacked information to people associated with the Biden campaign. None of the recipients replied. The Harris campaign said the emails resembled spam or a phishing attempt and condemned the outreach to the Iranians as "unwelcome and unacceptable malicious activity."
The indictment comes at a time of heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran as Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel escalate attacks against each other, raising concerns about the prospect of an all-out war, and as US officials say they continue to track physical threats by Iran against a number of officials including Trump.
Update from the Times of Israel at 1:25 p.m. ET: The FBI named the three hackers as Seyyed Ali Aghamiri, Yasar Balaghi and Masoud Jalili, who were employed by Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard. A photo of the miscreants can be seen at the link.
[Townhall] An independent journalist was suspended from X on Thursday after sharing documents about Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance that were allegedly obtained through the Iranians’ hack on the Trump campaign.
On his Substack, Ken Klippenstein published a 271-page vetting report on Vance, arguing the material is “of keen public interest in an election season.”
“[S]ince June, the news media has been sitting on it (and other documents), declining to publish in fear of finding itself at odds with the government’s campaign against ‘foreign malign influence,’” he wrote.
Last month, the Trump campaign confirmed it had been hacked, with Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung noting the documents were “obtained illegally from foreign sources hostile to the United States.”
Intelligence agencies later confirmed Iran was behind the attack and was seeking to “stoke discord and undermine confidence in our democratic institutions.”
The documents had been sent to media outlets at the time but they were not published.
“I’m just not a believer of the news media as an arm of the government, doing its work combatting foreign influence,” Klippenstein said. “Nor should it be a gatekeeper of what the public should know.”
A spokesperson for X told The Hill the independent journalist was suspended for publishing “unredacted private personal information” in violation of the social media platform’s rules.

The far left and some Democrats are attacking Musk for suspending the "journalist" because free speech. Just let someone hack them and put their personal information out there and the tables will be turned.

One can understand Russia's position. But: "Germany's Baerbock: Destabilizing Lebanon Is Not In Israel's Interest" - who asked you you brainless c*nt who almost destroyed (with help) your own country?
The f'n Associated Press, via Townhall:
[Townhall] On Friday, Israel reportedly took out Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Just earlier that day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had given a speech at the United Nations, where he called out the agency's anti-Israel bias. "I have another message for this assembly and for the world outside this hall: We are winning," he also declared as part of his speech. Despite all of the barbaric actions that Nasrallah is responsible for, the Associated Press thought he was a figure worth memorializing in a special kind of way.
"Charismatic and shrewd: A look at longtime Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah," read a Friday headline from Bassem Mroue that the Associated Press thought was appropriate to publish. Hours later, the headline reads the same, though archived versions are available.

Rocket man… now frolicking with young goats in the sunlight meadows of paradise thanks to Netanyahu/IDF. Biden should be on his knees kissing their fingers.
[TheSun] The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that Friday's fighter jet blitz successfully eliminated the terror group's Secretary-General.
They said: "Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world."
And military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani added: "Hassan Nasrallah is dead."
Hezbollah also confirmed Nasrallah had been killed - and vowed to continue its fight against Israel.
Ali Karki, the Commander of Hezbollah's Southern Front, is also believed to have been killed alongside Nasrallah in the strikes on Friday.
Israel also claims to have wiped out several other Hezbollah officials including Muhammad Ali Ismail, the commander of Hezbollah's missile unit in southern Lebanon, in the blasts.
His deputy and "other senior officials" were also taken out.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu is believed to have personally signed off the attack after spies discovered Nasrallah was set to convene a meeting of his surviving leaders at his underground HQ.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halev said "a lot of preparation" was behind the attack.
He said: "It was the right time, [we] did it in a very precise way."
Before warning Israel was set to continue with their targeted assaults across the border.
"This is not the end of our toolbox, we have to be very clear. We have more capacity going forward," Halev added.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei - one of Nasrallah's closest allies - issued a chilling message to Israel after Israel's assassination claims.
He did not mention Nasrallah - but slammed Israel for the massive blitz on Lebanon.
Khamenei said Lebanon will make Israel "regret their actions" and blasted the "shortsighted and foolish" policies of Israeli leaders.
He claimed Israel was "too small" to cause any damage to Hezbollah.
It's feared Iran could respond by targeting Israel directly, sending weapons through Iraq and Syria to Lebanon or by sending fighters to Lebanon to shore up Hezbollah, Professor Fawaz Gerges from LSE said.
The chair of contemporary Middle Eastern Studies said Israel has effectively "declared all-out war".
He told Sky News: "Benjamin Netanyahu has declared all-out war against the entire axis of resistance – including Iran.
"This is a decade-long war... Hezbollah will bide its time.
"Israel has been trying to systematically destroy the leadership structure of Hezbollah – and there are hundreds of leaders who could replace him [Hassan Nasrallah]."
Mr Gerges suggested Israel is "trying to soften that structure in preparation for a ground invasion".
IDF military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said on Friday that a "precise strike" hit Hezbollah's "central headquarters" located underneath residential buildings in Dahiyeh.
Huge 4,000lb laser and GPS-guided GBU-28 and 2,000lb Blu-109 bunker buster bombs are believed to have been deployed - burrowing up to 200ft below ground before exploding.
Images of the Lebanese suburb shows a series of huge blasts with large mushroom clouds erupting into the sky last night.
A source close to Hezbollah said the wave of strikes took out six buildings - including apartment blocks.
Thousands were forced to flee their homes as the rockets closed in.
Six people were killed along with another 91 wounded, according to preliminary data from Lebanon's health ministry.
A second round of Israeli strikes hit the same area of Beirut later in the night.
Pictures show smoking buildings early this morning following the successive blitzes.
Hezbollah has already retaliated after they fired rockets on the Israeli city of Safed - but there are no reports of casualties.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, is set to hold an emergency meeting of the Supreme National Security Council to respond to the Israeli attacks.
Narallah's backers in Iran's embassy in Beirut said the latest massive strike on the Lebanese capital was a "dangerous, game-changing escalation".
The embassy added the strike was a “war crime" which merits "appropriate punishment"
. It comes as Israel continues to gear up for a huge ground offensive across the border and into Lebanon.
The IDF have been making plans to activate two brigades consisting of up to 10,000 soldiers for "operational missions".
This morning they announced three more battalions of reserve soldiers are also being readied up.
Tanks and military trucks were also seen being transported towards the border as an escalation drew closer.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi already announced how his troops were planning to step up their attacks on Wednesday.
He said the barrage of airstrikes in recent days had been a tactical ploy to help the soldiers once they crossed into Lebanon.
Halevi said: "You can hear the planes above, we are attacking all day.
"This is both to prepare the ground for your possible entry and to continue degrading Hezbollah."

Destroying the ideas of political Islamism is the only real fix.
That said, I am happy they got him. GO ISRAEL!
The enemy is the Muslim Brotherhood though and they are backed by Qatar. Qatar is biggest funder of US universities and owns al Jazeera. Lot of energy money.

Anon1; Qatar's al-Thani began to infiltrate the USA long ago and really succeeded with the Clintons. We should close our base in Qatar that the Pentagon stupidly supported, and get the hell out of that country ASAP.

Israel dropped 83 bunker busting 1-ton bombs against Nasrallah’s bunker.
[Breitbart] Venezuela’s SAIME identification and migrant services office announced on Thursday that Venezuelans who requested passports in consulates recently closed by socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro must now go to Caracas to pick them up — an impossible task for many.
The socialist regime’s new measure further complicates the already difficult legal situation of some 2.4 million affected Venezuelans and potentially leaves them without a valid identity document in the short term. In most cases, Venezuelans with expired passports — not valid for international travel — are unable to travel to Caracas to retrieve a new one.
The measure also causes further migration-related woes at a continental level, as countries have to implement special measures to address migrants entering with expired passports or those who will have no valid documentation at all once their current passports expire.
“Venezuelans who are outside the country and have processed their passports through the consulates that are closed, may go to our main headquarters in Caracas to pick up their travel documents,” SAIME announced on social media.
The Maduro regime closed all of its consulates across seven Latin American countries – Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay – in late July. Maduro cut diplomatic ties with those countries in response to their respective governments questioning the socialist dictator’s fraudulent “victory” in the July 28 sham presidential election.
Maduro, and the Venezuelan authorities subservient to him, continue to insist Maduro “won” — even at the United Nations General Assembly — but refuse to publish vote tallies that can corroborate the claimed results.
According to estimates from U.N.-managed platforms, 2.4 million Venezuelans out of the nearly 8 million who have fled from socialism reside in those seven Latin American countries.
The Maduro regime’s brutal crackdown against dissidents following the sham July election, which left 27 deaths and more than 2,400 detained, also included the arbitrary annulment of the passports of Venezuelan journalists and activists, some of whom are abroad in countries such as Peru or Argentina.
The new SAIME measure is the latest on a lengthy list spanning more than ten years of actions committed by the socialist Maduro regime that have turned obtaining identity cards, passports, and other public office documents into an uphill endeavor for Venezuelans — especially passports for those who have fled the country following the collapse of socialism in Venezuela over the past years.
The Venezuelan passport ranks as one of the most expensive in the world, with a new one costing the equivalent of roughly $200 in local currency, the Venezuelan bolivar. The hefty cost of a new Venezuelan passport is prohibitively expensive for the majority of impoverished Venezuelans, who earn the official monthly minimum wage of roughly $4 per month — making the passport cost the equivalent of roughly four years’ worth of minimum wage.
In addition to its cost, obtaining a passport appointment is an uphill endeavor due to the frequent platform downtimes caused by infrastructure failures in power and internet connectivity.
The downtimes were further exacerbated in recent years by the Maduro regime switching passport printing provider and other services to Ex-Cle, an Argentine company the administration of former President Donald Trump sanctioned for its role in aiding the Maduro regime’s fraudulent elections. Ex-Cle is believed to hold direct links with Maduro’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez.
Due to the impossibility of Venezuelans abroad obtaining new passports, countries such as the United States and Argentina have implemented special provisions to recognize Venezuelan passports beyond their printed expiration date. While the measures allow Venezuelans with expired passports to engage with the corresponding countries at a government level, it does not guarantee that banks or other private service providers will recognize them, leading to reported cases of Venezuelan citizens abroad having their salaries withheld, bank accounts disabled, contracts suspended or even losing their jobs for not having a valid passport.
While the Maduro regime has made it difficult for Venezuelans to obtain new passports, it has been accused of selling Venezuelan passports to Iranians, Syrians, and other Middle Eastern citizens in the past, including members of the Shiite jihadist group Hezbollah.
SAIME’s head, Gustavo Vizcaino Gil, was sanctioned by the United States in 2019 for selling passports to Venezuelans non-Venezuelan alike for large sums of cash.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Albania plans to establish the sovereign Sufi Bektashi Muslim microstate within the borders of the capital, Tirana, the country's Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced.
It will have its own passport, borders, and administration governing religious issues, without Tirana's involvement.
The tiny enclave will serve as the political home for Bektashi Muslims - the fourth largest religious community in Albania after Sunni Muslims, Orthodox Christians and Catholics.
The order was founded in the 13th century in the Ottoman Empire and is regarded as a tolerant, mystic branch of Islam open to other religions and philosophies.
And historically, sometimes it has been. Other times, not so much.
Some of its most important leaders relocated to Albania after being banned in Turkey in the early 20th century by modern Turkey's founding father Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
'Our inspiration is to support the transformation of the Bektashi World Centre in Tirana into a sovereign state, a new centre of moderation, tolerance and peaceful coexistence,' Rama said on Sunday at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Bektashi make up an estimated 10 per cent of the country's Muslim population, according to Albania's 2023 census.
The Bektashi Order in Tirana praised the decision in a statement which read: 'The sovereignty of the Bektashi Order is an important step in strengthening the values of inclusion, religious harmony and dialogue in an increasingly divided world'.
'Such a historic step aims at recognizing the Beltashi Order as a sovereign, self-governing state, committed to supporting its century-old culture of moderation and spiritual involvement,' it added.
Citizenship of the new state of roughly 10 hectares (25 acres) will be limited to members of the clergy and individuals dealing with state administration.
Its government would be headed by the Bektashi's leader, Baba Mondi, while a council will monitor its religious and administrative operation.
It will see the order receive sovereignty identical to that of the Vatican, governing religious and administrative issues independently of Albania.
Mr Rama added: 'Albanians are also proud of giving to the world Mother Teresa who 'embodied love for humanity'.
The Bektashi Order originated in the Ottoman Empire in the 13th century and acquired political importance in the 15th century.
This came after the order dominated the Janissary Corps, the elite infantry units that formed the Ottoman sultan's household troops.
Imperial household troops tend not to be peaceful and tolerant, no matter how picturesque the whirling dervishes might be in front of tourists.
After the foundation of the Turkish Republic, its leader Kemal Ataturk banned religious institutions that were not part of the Directorate of Religious Affairs and the Bektashi community's headquarters relocated to Albania, where it became involved in politics.
One of its members, Ismail Qemali declared Albania's independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1912.
[JOHNKASSNEWS] My brother Nicholas Spyridon Kass has made foreign policy his life's work, knowing that the world is a dangerous place and many out there hate us, and want us dead, or as their slaves.
Or perhaps they dream of using us as their jesters, to kneel near their feast tables, so they can clean the grease from their fingers on our hair.
Part of that work involved knowing and appreciating how American elected officials think about the world, and how they learn about the dangers for our county, how they process the information. Do they try to think independently? Or are they merely content to thumb through celebrity news while parroting talking points given to them by government briefers?
Nick spent more than 30 years serving America, with CIA, the U.S. State Department, White House /National Security Council, National Intelligence Council, and other areas briefing presidents and other senior government and elected officials on critical issues.
The world is always especially dangerous, especially now with the common understanding that President Joe Biden is senile and the world knows it. The other day, Biden lost focus in a news conference with India's Prime Minister, and became confused and afraid, and shouted "Who's Next!"
Vice President Kamala Harris–the Democrat presidential nominee–helped cover up Biden's senility in office for years–is widely thought of in Washington as an empty vessel. A 2018 video that just came out underscores this. The far left Senator of California–further to the left of Bernie Sanders–is shown clapping, shouting "Down Down with deportation"
And now she's on the verge of losing the Hispanic speaking vote in Arizona, one of the key battleground states. So she plans on running to the border to show her concern and gaslight the American people with help from her corrupt corporate media. Americans don't care the Washington Democrat Media Complex defends her. They don't care that she's the soft-minded meat puppet of the never-ending Obama-Pelosi regime. Harris doesn't care about the hundreds of thousands of children being sex-trafficked on the broken Democrat border that has already let 20 million illegals in.
I invited Nick on the Chicago Way podcast that I co-host with WGN producer Jeff Carlin to sort all this out.
We talked about the Deep State, about foreign policy and Kamala Harris' complete lack of depth, and he told us about Harris in the context of Roman Emperor Caligula and the horse that Caligula and his horse Incitatus.
According to Suetonius, in the Lives of the Twelve Caesars (121 AD), Caligula planned to make Incitatus a consul of Rome. The horse would "invite" dignitaries to dine with him in a house outfitted with servants there to entertain such events. Suetonius also wrote that the horse had a stable of marble, with an ivory manger, purple blankets and a collar of precious stones.
Clearly Caligula was a madman.
But Caligula was also demonstrating exactly what he thought of the Roman government and the people, showing contempt by elevating a horse to governmental prominence, much in the same way Obama's Deep State elevates the thoughtless, shallow, cackling Kamala Harris.
And I decided just had to write about Nick and Caligula and Harris in a separate piece. And I'm putting the link to The Chicago Way podcast link here, so you may listen to him too. Perhaps you'll reach your own conclusions independently.
I mentioned Harris makes me think of the flirty, not-so-smart girl from high school who didn't read the book and puts a kittenish purr into her voice, like the airhead girls from "Clueless" But in this classroom, impervious to her charms, and watching for weakness to exploit are none other than China's dictator for life Xi Jinping who got millions of dollars to the Biden family through his network of spies; also Russian strongman Vladimir Putin, and the murderous, hateful mullahs of Iran.
Nick mentioned that policy makers who don't read and who don't push themselves to think things out independently–and who rely only on briefings–are also susceptible to manipulation from ideologues conducting briefings and susceptible to manipulation by our American allies. Great Britain and Israel are our allies, but they also care about their own interests above our own.
"But behind all this is whether or not we're going to have the consolidation of the Deep State," said Nick. "And if you have four more years of this, I guarantee you're going to be consolidating the Deep State. If Kamala Harris wins, I was trying to think about what I could compare it to, and one of the things that popped into my mind: Do you remember the Emperor Caligula reputedly tried to make his favorite horse a Council of Rome?"
Elevating a horse to prominence over people would indeed demonstrate contempt for them. But so too is nominating for president a candidate who doesn't do the reading or the work. Like that asinine high school student who needs help when her smarmy kittenish charms fall flat, Kamala Harris' help comes from corporate legacy media that prop her up. But China, Russia, Iran, Great Britain and Israel aren't so easily manipulated by the New York Times or MSNBC, etc.
"There's some dispute about whether the horse got the job or not. I'm not interested in that. What I'm interested in the idea is that they would deem it possible to take a horse and put him into an August position at Rome. Well, guess what? You're taking a candidate who really doesn't know anything, who was completely viewed as incompetent. I remember watching it Chris Wallace on a panel back in April, talking about how Kamala was going to be a drag on Joe, right? I mean, all these things going on and then they changed it because Joe finally exposed himself in such a way that you couldn't hide it anymore. They used that to leverage him out and they put her in.
"And so, if she wins under these conditions, well like the Turks say, you could put a block of wood in office if you get the the right machinery behind it."
And she has that machinery.
For many years Nicholas Kass was stationed in Ankara, Türkiye, which is the historic home of the Deep State. Yes, he's my younger brother, but he's a brilliant analyst. He's the ultimate authority in how the Deep State works and the lessons we need to learn to fight it before America is consumed by Deep State totalitarianism as freedom of speech comes under increasing assault in the West.
He's written about the Deep State in important journals from The American Conservative, to American Greatness. And he's also written about the Deep State here at johnkassnews.com. He's also been interviewed internationally and nationally about this topic including by legendary Chicago conservative Dan Proft.
As a career American diplomat and intelligence analyst who worked in Ankara he's an expert in the "Deep State."
On Tuesday we sent out the podcast link emailed to all subscribers of my website, johnkassnews.com.
But when I heard again his brilliant analogy comparing Kamala Harris to the legendary horse of the mentally ill sociopath Caligula, I just had to write that separate piece.
Even now it's clear that Kamala Harris has not digested the briefings. She hasn't done the work. She cynically avoids the press. And by this she holds the people in contempt, as did Caligula. She's backed by the Deep State, and so, she runs out the clock in this election. Only a year ago she was mocked by the media as lazy. Headlines like "The Kamala Harris Problem" "Few People Seem to Think She's Ready to be President. Why?"
Because she's a dangerous fool, that's why.
Remember that Deep State operatives and their reliable media partners turned the 2020 election with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken gathering 51 intelligence officials to push the big lie‐before the election‐that the Hunter Biden laptop was a product of Russian disinformation. It wasn't disinformation. Miranda Devine, respected columnist at the New York Post wasn't spreading disinformation when she wrote "Laptop From Hell."
The Bidens sold out our country to China and others and the Democratic Deep State and so-called journalists pushed that lie too. The journos received Pulitzer prizes. But it was a lie.
And now they're back at it, not only parading Taylor Swift but also other "intelligence officials" to back Harris.. What does this mean? It means they know Donald J. Trump will never hire them now and yet they want to live and work in Washington, kissing the hand of their mistress, Kamala Harris and laugh at the jokes of Ukrainian boss Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Harris/Biden flew Zelenskyy to the battleground state of Pennsylvania to campaign for the Democrats. Spending more taxpayer money on this clown and Zelenskyy getting billions of American dollars for a forever war they do not want to fight demonstrates supreme contempt by Harris and Democrats for the American people.
It reminds me of Caligula making the a horse a consul of Rome, just like Obama's Deep State regime installing Kamala Harris as president without letting the American people know details about her policies.
It's all about power and access with Deep State operatives, and if they have to destroy America, they'll do it.
They have one loyalty. Not to the United States, but to themselves.
Great message, Mr. Kass.

[FoxNews] The remnants of Helene continued its onslaught across the Southeast Friday, with nearly 4 dozen dead across multiple states and hundreds rescued from floodwaters.
The Category 4 hurricane made landfall along Florida’s Big Bend region late Thursday with estimated sustained winds of 140 mph.
Post-landfall, the hurricane quickly weakened, but its torrential rains and gusty winds continued hundreds of miles inland, with feet of rain being reported over the Appalachians.
At least 45 deaths have been reported so far, including 19 in South Carolina, 15 in Georgia, eight in Florida, two in North Carolina and one in Virginia.

Southern Middle TN - we got off easy so far - storm did a right hook from the east of us to the north, other than steady rain not much impact. Worst damage I could find is a building collapsed in the county to the west of us.

I had high winds and torrential rain. Since I live on the side of a mountain I didn't get flooded but did lose power and shingles with leaks in the house. I have many friends near Erwin and other areas that were flooded. The hospital is totaled. Newport is also totaled. Ashville is pretty much cut off.

InLaws in Asheville NC, offline 2 days.
No landlines, no WIFI, no cell towers, no roofs, no power, many trees down.
All types of wires down everywhere.
CSRA 95+ % in the dark.
Just got a heads up from GSP LEO buddy. County water filtration plants have run out of emergency power. FILL ANYTHING WE CAN.
Bubba, not the utility companies, is clearing trees and clearing power lines using rubber garden hoses with rope in them, to pull power lines from the roadway, so semi's can deliver supplies (gas, ice etc)
Neighborhoods holding community cook offs to use the thawing food.
More later.
Almost 2 hour gas line wait on Tobacco Rd. Near Ft. Gordon. Running by pure luck.
All main Walmarts closed. 1 community Wally opened and closed in few hours.
Police standing guard to handle raging shoppers.
No traffic control or manners.
Very glad to hear from you, NN2N1. We worried. But the self-organizing you describe is what Americans do best, so now we can worry a great deal less.

Was assisting a fellow wanting to run a CAT5 from his house to separate garage but didn't want stuff hanging, so we trenched about 50 feet for an underground conduit. He didn't want to do it in sections, being underground, so he got the lightest monofilament line he could, tied some fletching to the end, put a vacuum on one end flush and let it run a bit, then put that fletching at the open end, let it get sucked in a bit, then put a leaf blower at that end, and sucked the lead line through the conduit, and used it to pull the CAT5.
If the hose is being used to protect the rope from contact and abrasion, then they just need five or ten foot sections probably, which could be finagled by getting the hose stretched well in vertical and dropping a lead with a small fishing weight, or save a step and go straight to paracord or other rope small enough in diameter to not have to wrestle friction too much.

Club is down I guess. I wanted to get this out. Schwans the home delivery frozen food company was a family business. Investment group bought the family out and changed the name to Yellow. Now November 3rd a complete shut down in all areas of the United States. Perhaps sooner. I am not really sure I have the closure date or month correct. This is certain to happen in 2024.

O-club is shut down between 15 minutes after and 35 minutes after each even numbered hour.
This is done to enable repopulation of the database without interference from updates through the web interface. The o-club resides on the same server as Rantburg's live backups.
If you had waited one more minute, the o-club would not have been down.

August Ga is mile markers 194 to 199 on I-20.
1st working and accessible gas station on between Augusta and Atlanta was mile marker 114 on I-20 Madison Ga.. There was a station at 138,but the police appear to have shut it down for local residents only. Greensboro was backed up 1/2 mile down the exit into the breakdown lane.
Madison had us in out of the LOVE"s Car/trucker type fuel station 20 mins.
Arby's took over 1 hr to place and get for an inside order and it.
All told it use about 4.5hrs to make the 2.25 trip.
The last update we read on the DISGUSTA GA Facebook site. Indicated power in remote areas like ours would not up til Oct 10th at the earliest.
Time to research generators and solar panels against future need?
But after reading Skidmark’s link about a flooded EV battery burning down the house in Florida, that’s clearly not something to keep in the garage if one lives in a flood plain or hurricane territory.
[FoxNews] Zelenskyy and Trump both left the meeting in good spirits and have told the press their conversation had been constructive
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is downplaying past disagreements with former President Donald Trump following a meeting in New York City.
Zelenskyy visited Trump Tower on Friday to meet with the Republican presidential nominee, then sat down with Fox News' Griff Jenkins to discuss what seems to have been a good-spirited conversation.
"We understand that even in any kind of future negotiations, Ukraine has to be strong. That's what it's about," Zelenskyy told Jenkins when asked why he met with Trump. "We spoke with Biden, Kamala Harris, Donald Trump and the Congress of the United States."
Jenkins pressed Zelenskyy about his comments that appeared in a New Yorker article earlier this week — in which he was quoted saying that he believes Trump "doesn’t really know how to stop the war even if he might think he knows how" — and whether Trump had said anything to change Zelenskyy's mind.
"No, I said that I think that we understand much more better than everybody, really, including Donald Trump, what's going on in Ukraine and how to stop him. It's difficult to understand," Zelenskyy responded.
The Ukrainian president said his country is now a completely different nation from the one that was first invaded in 2022.
"Ukraine, during the war in Ukraine before the full-scale invasion — two different countries. So without this experience, you can't really understand how to stop [Russian President Vladimir Putin]," Zelenskyy continued. "And that's what I wanted to share to president . . . and the price of this tragedy of bloody invasion of Putin."
At one point during their meeting, Trump told the press that he had a "good relationship" with both Zelenskyy and Putin. Zelenskyy then interjected to say he hopes the U.S. has a better relationship with Ukraine than Russia.
Jenkins asked the Ukrainian president whether Trump's comment about maintaining a good relationship with Putin concerned him.
Zelenskyy said he was not necessarily concerned, acknowledging that "Trump has relations and had relations when he was the president, during his term" and maintains "relations with a lot of countries and a lot of UN leaders."
During the exclusive interview, Zelenskyy lamented the lack of response Putin received from the rest of the world when Russia began its invasion of Ukraine in 2014 with the taking of Crimea.
"Nobody kicked him, and that meant he understood that he can occupy it and go further. He can occupy new territories of Ukraine," Zelenskyy said. "He began to prepare to do this — his plan — and he did it."
[NYPOST] A small plane made an emergency landing on a southern California highway — and the instructor pilot and his student passenger were arrested for smuggling drugs, according to police.
The pilot, 21-year-old Gabriel Leon Breit, called authorities around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday morning and reported that the Piper Cherokee Pathfinder was experiencing engine trouble and he would be landing on State Route 76 in Oceanside, NBC San Diego reported.
Breit and his passenger, 36-year-old Troy Othneil Smith, were uninjured and landed the craft safely — but when police arrived they saw one of the men hiding a backpack in the brush on the side of the road, Oceanside Police Assistant Chief Taurino Valdovinos said at a news conference.
Breit, a flight instructor, and Smith, his student, were detained.
Police discovered a small amount of cocaine on Smith. Another kilo of cocaine was discovered in the backpack. Both were charged with drug trafficking.

[NYPOST] A paralegal at a New York City district attorney's office has been arrested after he attempted to make an explosive to bomb a migrant shelter located across from his apartment, according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday.
Police said Derek Klever, a 27-year-old who worked as a trial preparation assistant at the Queens District Attorney's office, had grown frustrated with partying at the Kamway Lodge in Elmhurst, a small hostel that the city has been using to temporarily house migrants colonists arriving from the U.S. southern border with Mexico.
''I know I shouldn't be doing this, but it's for Queens County,'' he said, according to the court filing.
''This is a war. I wish I had a big enough one to blow them back to Venezuela
...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south... .''
Klever confided to an unnamed acquaintance that he had purchased fireworks and was going to combine their contents with nails, gasoline and other materials to create rudimentary explosives.
''I'm not trying to kill but injure,'' he said.
''I need to teach them a lesson.''
Klever claimed he had tested a version of the homemade explosive and was considering using a drone to drop multiple bombs on the unsuspecting residents in the shelter.
Police said Klever's fianc consented to a search of the apartment earlier this week, where they recovered a BB gun in a child's bedroom and various fireworks inside a closet in a larger bedroom.
Subsequent searches turned up other bomb-making materials, including explosive substances from disassembled fireworks that had been wrapped in tin foil, long nail cartridges that were also wrapped in foil, BB pellets and green wire, according to the complaint.

[NYPOST] CBS News, hosting vice presidential candidates JD Vance and Tim Walz ...Kamala's smarmy-looking running mate, governor of Minnesota, who decided to retired rather than to deploy with his National Guard unit, then claimed to have been in Iraq and Afghanistan. One man's socialism is another man's neighborliness.... for the general election campaign's third debate next week, says it will be up to the politicians — not the moderators — to check the facts of their opponents.
The 90-minute debate, scheduled for 9 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday in a Manhattan studio that once hosted the children's program ''Captain Kangaroo,'' will be moderated by the outgoing ''CBS Evening News'' anchor Norah O'Donnell and ''Face the Nation'' host Margaret Brennan.
During ABC's debate between presidential contenders Kamala Harris What can be, unburdened by what has been and Donald Trump ...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons... earlier this month, network moderators on four occasions pointed out inaccurate statements by Trump, and none by Harris. That infuriated the former president and his supporters, who complained it was unfair.
Last spring, CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for... moderators did not question any facts presented by Trump and President Biden in the debate where Biden's poor performance eventually led to him dropping out of the race.
On Friday, CBS said the onus will be on Vance and Walz to point out misstatements by the other, and that ''the moderators will facilitate those opportunities'' during rebuttal time. The network said its own misinformation unit, CBS News Confirmed, will provide real-time fact-checking during the debate on its live blog and on social media, and on the air during post-debate analysis.

[NYPOST] One woman suffered a great loss this week after she was busted smuggling more than 700 pounds of illegal bologna across the US-Mexico border in Texas. "Concealed on/in her body"
The 43-year-old woman, who is an American citizen, tried to enter the country at the Presidio port of entry from Mexico Monday afternoon when she only declared a cooked meal during the primary inspection, according to the Customs and Border Protection.
CBP agriculture specialists called her baloney and conducted a secondary inspection of the car, finding several suitcases stuffed with 40 rolls — 748 pounds — of Mexican bologna, a prohibited meat that poses a threat to America's pork industry, officials said.
''The concern with pork products is that they have the potential to introduce foreign animal diseases that can have devastating effects to the US economy and to our agriculture industry,'' CBP Presidio Port Director Benito Reyes, Jr. said in a news release.

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... report published Thursday conceded that Vice President Kamala Harris It is time for us to do what we have been doing. And that time is every day ' major ''weakness'' is her television interviews, where she's been panned for her ''word salad'' responses.
The criticism of Harris' rare TV sit-downs was laid bare in an article titled ''Harris Has a Lot of Strengths. Giving Interviews Isn't One of Them'' by Times news hound Rebecca Davis O'Brien.
''She often winds her way slowly toward an answer, leaning on jargon and rehearsed turns of phrase, using language that is sometimes derided as 'word salad' but might be better described as a meringue,'' the news hound said.
Harris has largely shied away from unscripted media appearances since she jumped to the top of the Democratic ticket. She's also been hard to reach for White House photographers.

Pokrovsk-Kurakhovskoye direction: a dash to Gornyak and battles on the approaches to Mirnograd.
– In the Pokrovsk-Kurakhovskoye direction, Russian troops are actively fighting in two main areas. The greatest successes are being achieved on the southern approaches to Mirnograd near the Pokrovsk agglomeration and on the Tsukurino-Gornyak-Galitsynovka line, advancing in the direction of Kurakhovo.
– On the northern flank, Russian troops recently drove the enemy out of Krasny and Krutoy Yar. Later, footage of an ambush on a Ukrainian armored personnel carrier north of Nikolaevka, moving from the direction of Promin, was published online. At the moment, Nikolaevka is under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.
- There are two kilometers left to go to the southern outskirts of Mirnograd, and also to occupy a number of enemy strongholds on the approaches to the city. A little further south, near Novogrodovka, no change in the configuration of the front has yet been recorded.
However, if an offensive begins along the railway, it will be possible to attack the Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in Mirnograd from two directions at once.
– On the southern flank, Russian troops are trying to close the “lid of the cauldron” in the fields near Nevelskoye. Over the past week, the Russian Armed Forces liberated Zhelannoye Pervoye and started fighting in Zhelannoye Vtoroye, and also consolidated their positions on the northern outskirts of neighboring Gornyak. In the latter, a Russian flag was raised on the territory of School No. 17.
- To the south, the enemy holds a section of terrain about four kilometers wide, from where, in theory, it is possible to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the fields near Nevelskoye.
In the event of further advancement along the Gornyak-Zhelannoye-Second line in the direction of Kurakhovka and Zoryanoe, the Ukrainian formations holding positions to the east of Nevelskoye risk being completely surrounded.
– Enemy facilities in Kurakhovka are currently subject to massive fire damage from both barrel artillery and UAV operators. The targets are communication towers, armored fighting vehicles and power substations.
– West of Ukrainsk, Russian troops carried out several raid attacks in the direction of the railway near the Selidovskaya mine waste heap north of Tsukurino.
At least twice, troops successfully landed in the area and consolidated their positions. According to some reports, the Russian Armed Forces have already started fighting on the northern outskirts of Tsukurino, but there is no objective evidence of this yet.
- At the same time, the offensive in the direction of Kurakhovo from the side of Ostroye continues. The other day, Russian troops completely liberated the settlement, having consolidated their positions on the approaches to Selidovskaya penal colony No. 82, bypassing Maksimilyanovka from the north. From here to the western outskirts of Kurakhovo there remains about a kilometer.

"Our goal was reconnaissance operations, to set up observation posts, to determine the location of the enemy, the approaches of equipment. Everything was successfully accomplished," said the commander of the reconnaissance group with the call sign "Pisar".
The scout with the call sign "Rubakha" also told how their unit operates behind enemy lines:

[Regnum] Boys over eight years old should be left with their fathers in the event of a divorce; this will help increase the birth rate and reduce the number of broken marriages, believes State Duma deputy Dmitry Kuznetsov (A Just Russia).
An interesting proposal. It would certainly spike the guns of half the men who are upset that the bitch women who divorced them cut them off from their children, too. And of half the women upset that the divorced bastards aren’t paying their fair share of child support. There are certainly divorces that ought to happen, but there are plenty of marriages that would benefit from more work from both partners.
The parliamentarian outlined the initiative on September 27 in a Telegram channel.
According to Kuznetsov, handing over sons to fathers for upbringing will solve the problem of non-payment of alimony, since “adequate men” will not demand money for children from their ex-wives.
“I am sure that if, instead of 95%, only 80% of children remain with their mothers, then the number of divorces will decrease significantly and the birth rate will increase,” Kuznetsov emphasized.
The parliamentarian added that boys need a male upbringing, and previously in Russia “a grown-up boy would move to his father’s half.”
As reported by Regnum News Agency, on September 6, the head of the State Duma Committee for the Protection of Family, Motherhood and Childhood Nina Ostanina stated that Russia needs a “special demographic operation.” She noted that support is needed not only for young families, but also for families with children, including large families.
On July 26, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that the country was implementing a number of measures aimed at increasing the birth rate, but they had a delayed effect. He also pointed out that the demographic issue was one of the main priorities of President Vladimir Putin.
The objectives of the national project "Family" include increasing the total fertility rate to 1.6 by 2030 and to 1.8 by 2036. According to Rosstat, by the end of 2023, this figure was 1.41.
Decidedly concerning for those of us who treasure the Russian culture. Good luck, guys — truly.

[ColonelCassad] The front is approaching Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk). Should we expect an assault on Pokrovsk this year? No, definitely not.
First of all, what is so important and remarkable about Pokrovsk? Pokrovsk is the largest logistics center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbass, which for years has served as a hub for distributing supplies throughout the entire territory of the DPR, from Ugledar to Artemovsk, Chasov Yar and the Slavyansk agglomeration.
So why shouldn't we expect it to be stormed anytime soon?
1. Pokrovsk is a huge city. The Pokrovsk agglomeration (~600 thousand people) is larger than Artemovsk and is second only to Donetsk in terms of population before the war.
2. The city has not only high-rise buildings, but also a large number of industrial and warehouse buildings; the Ukrainian Armed Forces will try to turn each building into a "Fortress".
3. There is no point in the Russian Armed Forces wasting their forces on storming Pokrovsk at the moment. Let's take a look at the map.
The main routes leaving Pokrovsk, which provided it with strategic importance (Blue - routes under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yellow - unsafe routes under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, red - routes where the destination is controlled by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation or cut by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation):
1. Selidovo-Gornyak-Kurakhove. At the moment, this route is only operational up to Selidovo, further on the Russian Armed Forces have already cut it. And now, in order to deliver supplies to Kurakhovo, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have to go around along the Pokrovsk-Andreyevka-Kurakhove route.
2. The Pokrovsk-Konstantinovka route is currently classified as "unsafe" and the Armed Forces of Ukraine try not to use it without extreme necessity, because the Russian Armed Forces already have the ability to destroy transport on the route using drones. In addition, Russian forces have destroyed important bridges on this route.
3. The highways to Novogrodovka and Grodovka are pointless, because both cities are completely and almost completely controlled by Russian forces.
Thus, the strategic importance of Pokrovsk for the Ukrainian Armed Forces has significantly decreased at the moment, because it is under close surveillance by Russian forces and any important objects (warehouses, locations, training bases) can be destroyed by drones, Iskanders, missiles and FABs, not to mention gliding bombs.
Conclusions:
The assault on Pokrovsk should be expected only after the more important sections of the front at the moment (Ugledar, Selidovo, Gornyak, Toretsk) have been cleared. A clear marker of the imminent start of the imminent assault on the city will be the clearing of Mirnograd, as well as access to the Pokrovsk-Andreevka highway, which should not be expected in the autumn, and most likely in the winter campaign.
However, its strategic importance has been lost, although not completely. Thanks to Novogrodovka, our forces are now in the underbelly of the beast represented by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, leveling its potential as a hub city, allowing any targets within the city limits to be destroyed without problems, and a significant part of the cut highways also level its importance as a transit city, because the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not once again expose equipment to a lancet or FPV if the road through the city is neither safe nor fast

[FoxNews] Part of Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's New York City district is lined with prostitutes
In "Squad" member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s district in New York City, those who are described as scantily dressed migrant prostitutes line blocks of a long commercial strip during all hours of the day and night, brazenly soliciting sex to passersby while their pimps strike fear into local business owners, one of whom told Fox News Digital he’s been threatened for speaking out and is on the verge of closing his store.
The trash-filled streets of Roosevelt Avenue in Queens, which encompasses the migrant-heavy communities of Corona, Jackson Heights and Elmhurst, has become a veritable hotbed for one of the world’s oldest professions, and residents say that most elected officials and police are turning a blind eye to the neighborhood nightmare, which looks more like the famed brothel-filled red-light district streets of Bangkok than one of America’s biggest cities.
Illegal vendors also overrun the sidewalks, plying their hustle in what residents have likened to "Third World" conditions, cooking hot food out in the open devoid of any health certifications or inspections as hungry birds swoop down in search of leftovers and leaving their droppings along the way.
Known to locals as the "Avenue of the Sweethearts," this epicenter of vice is not some desolate area on the outskirts of a city but rather the heart of the borough of Queens underneath the area’s main subway track that serves as a vital cog connecting Manhattan and its local schools to families, many of whom stream down the subway steps and are then inescapably met by armies of prowling solicitors, mostly Asian and Hispanic women.
Ramses Frías, a local resident turned activist, is furious with the deterioration of his neighborhood and says "it feels like Bangkok with women outside locations and pulling men off the street."
Curtis Sliwa, the founder of the Guardian Angels and a Republican candidate for mayor, says prostitution has exploded in the neighborhood after the pimps and sex workers were driven out of the nearby area of Flushing, well known for its Asian population.
"It was never like this. It was a family area with a lot of retail," Sliwa told Fox News Digital of Roosevelt Avenue. "The Chinese community pushed it out [of Flushing] and Asian cops were getting busted because they were on the take, so they just decided, the madams, bring the girls over here … and its open prostitution, 24/7. [It's] lawless. Anarchy. You get to do what you want when you want."
Two NYPD officers were busted in 2006 on bribery charges relating to the protection of a brothel in Flushing, and there are similar cases stretching back further.
Sliwa says the police and New York City Mayor Eric Adams are not doing enough to clamp down on the racket. In January, the NYPD raided six establishments allegedly engaged in prostitution, which were issued closing orders. The raid was well publicized, with Adams and local Democrat City Council member Francisco Moya present. However, it appears to have done little to curb the problem.
Sliwa slammed it as a "show raid" and said there were no arrests.
"They didn't arrest the johns, prostitutes, madams; they never went after the landlords, and they were back in business the next day," said Sliwa, who joined Fox News Digital and Frías on a walking tour of the area.
The Queens District Attorney's Office confirmed that no arrests were made, saying it was strictly carried out to serve court closure orders of nuisance abatement over which the NYPD has jurisdiction.
Separately, NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell told Fox News that it suspects members of the brutal Tren de Aragua are linked to prostitution in the area, trafficking women into the industry to pay off the debts the gang is owed for smuggling them into the country.
Ocasio-Cortez’s office did not respond to repeated requests for comment on this story or on a March story in which Fox News Digital brought attention to the neighborhood’s plight, featuring the additional publication of a now-viral video provided by Frías showing an almost endless stream of vendors with piles of clothes stacked along the streets.
Police swept the area days later and Frías – a former Democrat who is running for City Council as a Republican next year – said vendors have simply set up shop there again.

[ColonelCassad] War correspondent Murad Gadziev on the meeting of war correspondents and bloggers with the Russian Minister of Defense Belousov.
About our meeting with Defense Minister Andrey Belousov today.
The second meeting was without cameras and microphones. The tone was frank. Without censorship.
We, war correspondents, conveyed to the minister everything that our soldiers, their families, and civilians in the SVO zone asked us to convey. The truth, problems, requests, and suggestions.
The minister himself told us some things for our understanding. About the progress of the special operation, and about the state of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and about what is currently in the minds of Ukraine's Western curators.
We, war correspondents, are civilians, without access to classified information. Accordingly, no plans were revealed to us.
What can I say? A few months after his appointment, the minister has completely mastered a new area for himself.
However, you can see it for yourself. Our army is evolving and adapting at record speed.
Every day, troops break through enemy defenses in new areas of the front. Production is growing by leaps and bounds. People learn from their mistakes.
And most importantly, most of the problems we discussed with the minister in June did not come up again. They have been resolved. That alone is worth something.
Once again, thanks to Defense Minister Andrei Belousov for taking the time to listen to us even in such a tense time.
It can be noted that such meetings, which began under Shoigu, have become regular.
Compare and contrast the two sources, dear Reader, and decide for yourself whom to believe.
[NY Post] The US Navy intercepted a barrage of Houthi missiles and drones launched at three of its warships in the Red Sea on Thursday, US defense officials said.
The attack was one of the largest yet on US warships in the Middle East, one official told CNN.
“We did see a complex attack launched from the Houthis that ranged from cruise missiles and [drones],” deputy Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh said during a briefing.
“My understanding is that those were either engaged and shot down or failed.”
No US warships were damaged or struck in the assault, nor were any American servicemembers injured, she added.
The barrage was launched at the USS Spruance and USS Stockdale — both guided missile destroyers — and the USS Indianapolis, a littoral combat ship, as they traveled north of the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
The Houthi navy, air force and missile force launched 23 projectiles, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones, the spokesperson for the Iranian-backed rebels said.
Saree said the operation made “direct hits,” a claim Singh rejected, adding that it was unclear if the warships were the intended targets.
“Sometimes it’s hard to tell whether they’re being shot in the vicinity of a US ship or targeting another vessel. We always take measures for our self-defense, so I can’t really tell you the intended target,” she explained.
“We did what we had to do to protect our forces, and at the end of the day, no ship was hit, no damage, and no injuries to our personnel.” More from regnum.ru

[Regnum] Yemeni Houthis from the Ansar Allah movement launched a massive attack on three US Navy destroyers, said the movement's spokesman Yahya Sari.
The strike involved 23 cruise and ballistic missiles, he said.
"The Yemeni armed forces attacked three enemy American destroyers in the Red Sea that were heading to support the Israeli enemy. The operation was carried out using 23 ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as one drone," Saria said on Al Masirah TV channel.
A Houthi spokesman also said all three destroyers had been damaged.
Earlier, Ansar Allah also announced that it had launched missile strikes on Tel Aviv and Ashkelon. Israeli media reported that the attack had been repelled. The Houthis stressed that they would continue to strike until Israel stopped its attacks on Palestine and Lebanon.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, the Israeli army (IDF) announced on September 23 that it was expanding the area of strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi announced the start of a "preemptive military operation" against the Shiite movement, whose military infrastructure, according to him, has been built over the past 20 years.
Moscow strongly condemns Israel's large-scale military attacks on Lebanon, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova. Indiscriminate attacks that target civilians are unacceptable, Zakharova stressed.
The conflict risks spreading to the entire Middle East and drawing into the confrontation even those powers that have tried with all their might to maintain neutrality or reconcile the opponents, but neither side is still willing to give in, noted Leonid Tsukanov, a columnist for Regnum News Agency, in his article earlier.

[Regnum] Nine people were killed as a result of explosions at a gas station in the suburbs of Makhachkala, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Rescuers have pulled two more bodies from the rubble. It was previously reported that seven people, including two children, died in the emergency.
“A total of 19 people were injured, 9 of whom died,” the ministry’s press service said in a statement.
Those injured as a result of the explosions were taken to hospitals and are receiving all necessary assistance, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, reported earlier.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, the explosions occurred on the evening of September 27 on a federal highway in the Karabudakhkent district in the suburbs of Makhachkala. A second explosion at the station was captured on video by eyewitnesses. The footage shows the detonation of underground gas station tanks, and a thick column of smoke was visible near the station itself. A large fire broke out after the explosions. The Ministry of Emergency Situations later reported that the fire had been localized.
According to media reports, the explosion occurred, preliminarily, because of a gas cylinder in a cafe, which was located on the territory of the station. The authorities of the republic will provide support to the victims, Melikov said.
A criminal case has been opened on the basis of the incident under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence), the press service of the Investigative Committee for Dagestan reported. Investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
Residents of several nearby areas were left without power after explosions at gas stations, Dagenergo reported. Specialists have already begun restoration work and connected some consumers using backup circuits.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] 'Hey! Hey you! Alto! Stop!' three Colombian cartel soldiers shouted at me and my translator as we ducked into a small shop and pretended not to hear their commands.
I'd come to Capurgana, a dusty seaside village on the northwest coast of Colombia to investigate international efforts to shut down one of the world's most notorious human smuggling routes – the Darien Gap. It's a 70-mile stretch of dense jungle connecting South America and Panama through which 1.5 million migrants from 170 countries have passed from 2021 to August 2024.
Capurgana is one of the last major stops before these travelers enter Central America seeking a new life further north, invariably in the U.S.
What I discovered shocked me – and, for a heart-pounding moment, I thought I'd never make it out with the story. Instead of finding any progress toward reining in a historic illegal immigration crisis here, I uncovered the opposite.
Migrants arrive in Capurgana daily by the hundreds from all over South America and places as far-flung as Africa, the Middle East and China. They're met on the docks by foot soldiers of the Gaitanist Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, a powerful paramilitary drug-trafficking cartel that rules the region's smuggling routes.
The migrants pay hundreds of dollars each for passage and permission to travel north through the Darien Gap to Panama and beyond.
I'd been warned that the cartel kept a close watch on everything here, so I posed as a tourist.
For a full day, I'd been flying a drone out the window of my hotel room – filming the Gaitanistas shuttling men, women and children from the docks to the Darien Gap to begin their journey.
But when I began documenting the operation from the ground, I was spotted and chased into a convenience store by three Gaitanistsa goons.
'Hand over the camera,' one of the hulking men demanded.
I backed up against the cash register.
On my phone was the damning footage of their activities. It felt that keeping it secret could be a matter of life or death.
I'm just a 'gringo,' I told them through my translator, an 'adventure tourist.'
They weren't buying it.
I briefly considered an escape, thinking of the taser I carry in my front pocket. But even if we got away, there was only one way out of Capurgana — the boats controlled by the Gaitanistas.
I raised my hands in surrender. 'Okay, I'll tell you the truth about everything,' I said.
Around a cheap plastic table in a restaurant next door, I explained that I was an American journalist. Thankfully, even the Gaitanistas are not so bold as to harm a Yankee.
They let me leave on the condition that I take the first boat out of town the next morning and, in the meantime, I was instructed to stay out of their way.
They had work to do. And they've never been busier.
For decades, fewer than 10,000 migrants a year passed through towns like Capurgana to cross the Darien Gap.
But after President Joe Biden came into office, demolished his predecessor's security measures and essentially opened the U.S. southern border, that number increased to 133,000 immigrants in 2021.
Then, the seven-day crossing was still notorious for rapes, robberies and murders.
Indigenous inhabitants on the Panamanian side routinely killed migrants for their money and valuables. Women ran the risk of sexual assault from fellow migrants and cartel guides. Flash floods along the river were known to sweep away entire families camping in the middle of the night. The weak and injured were routinely left by the trailside to die.
Now, nearly everything has changed.
No longer a torturous seven-day trek, the current passage through the Darien Gap is a two or three-day walk along trails heavily patrolled by Panamanian border police.
Why? In April 2022, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas signed an agreement with Panama to help ease the humanitarian disaster - that the White Hoyuse helped create by throwing open America's gates.
The administration declared its commitment to 'safe, orderly, and humane migration,' worldwide.
In 2023, U.S. State Department agencies further increased contributions to the United Nations's International Organization for Migration to a staggering $1.4 billion, according to a database that tracks federal spending.
Hundreds of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars began flowing into Panama.
The nation built new migrant processing centers and welcomed dozens of non-governmental agencies to provide aid to the illegal travelers.
So much was the investment that the once dangerous passage now resembles an American-built migrant 'super-highway.' As a result, illegal immigration in the Darien Gap has exploded even further.
Crossings grew to 250,000 by the end of 2022.
In 2023, 520,000 traversed the Gap.
Midway through this year, nearly a quarter million had made the trip.
The migrant flow is so overwhelming now that Panama's National Border Service chief told me his country screens less than one percent of the migrants.
They used to question up to 90 percent about their criminal histories and potential ties to terrorism.
It was no wonder that Panamanians have had enough.
Panama's new president Raul Jose Mulino has pledged to close the crossing – and, at least in writing, the Biden administration has agreed to help.
On July 1, DHS Secretary Mayorkas said the U.S. would help fund deportation flights of illegal migrants from Panama back to Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela.
But that help hasn't yet materialized, according to President Mulino.
'I will never tire of reiterating my position before the international community,' he posted on Twitter this week. 'Darien will no longer be the path through which thousands of illegal immigrants continue to cross to the United States; this humanitarian crisis will come to an end.'
On Tuesday, Biden's Treasury Department announced sanctions for a handful of leaders of the Gaitanist Self-Defense Forces of Colombia – calling the cartel, 'one of the country's largest drug trafficking organizations and a key contributor to human smuggling through the Darién Gap.'
Some may see the move as progress, but others in the region know that sanctions won't change the situation on the ground.
It is difficult for critics to see this as anything less than a feeble response to a humanitarian crisis of the administration's own making.
As long as this Biden-build migrant 'super-highway' remains open, misery and the criminality that feeds on it will continue.

[NYPOST] Stomach-churning video shows the moment human sewage erupted on a busy Chinese motorway, drenching cars, pedestrians, and bikers in what has been dubbed a "poo-cano."
The explosion of waste came around 11 a.m. Wednesday as newly installed sewage pipes in Nanning, in the southern Guangxi region of China, suddenly ruptured, according to the Sun.
Shocking video shows a huge brown cloud of waste shooting up nearly 33 feet in the air and splattering cars and pedestrians across the motorway.
"I’m drenched in poo, my car is splattered yellow. It’s ruined," one driver reportedly claimed.
Dashcam footage shows the orange-brown geyser of poo billow out of the pipe before splatting on the window shields of cars and unsuspecting bikers.
No one was injured in the earth-shattering kaboom, but the powerful blast flipped over one digger at the construction site, authorities said.
The explosion likely occurred when construction workers attempted a pressure test on the newly laid pipes, authorities said.
They learnt the thing they wanted to know, so that counts as a win.
The "poo-cano" aftermath was quickly attended to and different ways to prevent a future sewage explosion are being investigated, local authorities said.
Good for them. That’s how we moved up from the Third World, too.

[FoxNews] This isn't stickwelding with a Lincoln The faulty work was discovered by internal quality assurance systems
One hopes heads will soon roll.
Newport News Shipbuilding informed the Department of Justice that there may be intentionally faulty welds on non-critical components located on in-service submarines and aircraft carriers, according to a report by USNI News Thursday.
The faulty work was discovered by internal quality assurance systems and early indications show that some of the welding errors were intentional, according to a statement to USNI News.
"We recently discovered through internal reporting that the quality of some welds did not meet our high-quality standards. Upon this discovery, we took immediate action to communicate with our customers and regulators, investigate, determine root cause, bound these matters and insert immediate corrective actions to prevent any recurrence of these issues," the statement reads.
The Navy is now investigating the allegations and are attempting to measure how much has been affected by the faulty work.
Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), is one of two nuclear shipyards in the U.S. and is currently working on building the Ford-class aircraft carrier and parts of the Virginia-class attack submarine.
There was a time I could assume that at this level, the welder can make a bead look like music and anything less than that is deliberate. Now, whether a black cat or non-sober or foreign saboteur on purpose is the question.

#3 don't leave out, in this economy, it requires more work to fix which increases the bottom line of a paycheck for someone.
One theory identifies James J. Kilroy (1902–1962), an American shipyard inspector, as the man behind the signature.[6] James Kilroy had served on the Boston City Council and represented the Roxbury district in the Massachusetts Legislature during the 1930s. He worked at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy during the war checking the work of riveters paid by how many rivets they installed.[13] Usually, inspectors made a small chalk mark which riveters used to erase, so that they would be paid double for their work. To prevent this, Kilroy marked work he had inspected and approved with the phrase "Kilroy was here" in more durable crayon. - cite

Most faulty welds are the result of not prepping the surfaces well enough, assuming the welder knows how to weld in the first place. It does require not being tired, though.

I don't know about warships, but there are no 'non-critical components' on a fire truck.
That includes moral pieces, or flair, or what the kids call 'drip', a games table being installed for a multi-month deployment totally submerged, get it, but it has to stay right there when the brakes are pumped, or people get hurt...or worse. [FoxNews] Among the most common reasons for removal was a change of address without notification or moving out of the state entirely
North Carolina has removed over 700,000 individuals from its registered voter list, officials say. The State Board of Elections announced Thursday that 747,000 people have been removed from voter rolls in the last 20 months due to ineligibility.
"The county boards follow careful policies to ensure that only ineligible records are removed, not those of eligible voters," the Board of Elections said in a press release.
"Meanwhile, newly eligible voters are constantly being added to the registration rolls in our growing state," the board added. "Currently, North Carolina has nearly 7.7 million registered voters."
A common reason for removal from voter rolls was moving residences — either within the state without notifying election officials or to another state altogether. Other removed individuals failed to vote in the last two federal elections and did not respond to follow-up notifications from the government seeking to confirm their registration. Death, felony conviction, requests to be removed, and lack of U.S. citizenship were also listed as reasons for dropping individuals from voter rolls.
It’s a start. Next look at imaginary residences and multiple registrations of the same individuals.
The Marist Poll released Thursday finds that Harris and Trump are tied at 49% among likely voters in North Carolina who were asked which candidate they were leaning toward. Of those polled who have made up their minds, 91% said they strongly support their choice.
North Carolina last voted for a Democratic president in 2008, when then-Sen. Barack Obama won the state by 0.3 points, or 14,177 votes.
Trump pulled out a convincing 3.7 point win in 2016, but that margin shrank to 1.3 points against President Biden in 2020.
North Carolina began absentee voting for registered voters on Tuesday, having begun sending absentee ballots to military and overseas voters on Friday. Applicants do not need to provide an excuse to receive a ballot.
The state must receive a ballot application by Oct. 29, and that ballot must be delivered to county officials by Nov. 5.

[Regnum] Actress Maggie Smith, known for her role as Professor McGonagall in the Harry Potter film saga, has died at the age of 89, The Times reports.
The actress's sons reported her death. Smith died in hospital, her death was peaceful, the actress's relatives noted.
"We thank you for all your kind messages and support and ask that you please respect our privacy at this time," Smith's family said in a statement.
They also thanked the doctors at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where the actress spent the last days of her life and died.
Smith was born in 1934 in Ilford, England. The actress made her stage debut at Oxford University. In the late 1950s, she also began acting in films. Among the films and TV series in which Smith took part are Death on the Nile, David Copperfield, Downton Abbey and many others.
She has received numerous awards throughout her career, including two Oscars, three Golden Globes, and four Emmy Awards. In 1990, she was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
I saw her live in one of the Shakespeare comedies at Stratford, Ontario when I was a schoolgirl. I had no idea at the time who she was, but one of my girlfriends was very impressed. The performance was rollicking fun, as Shakespeare comedies ought to be.
[AT] Priorities
While the Secret Service (as an agency) clearly isn’t willing to die on a hill for President Trump’s protection (or apparently RFK Jr.’s), the hill it will die on is that of the Pride flag.
From an item at Fox News—not the Babylon Bee—comes a truly absurd story: The agency will be sending staff members to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, where they will participate in the “Out and Equal Workplace Summit” on a de facto three-day paid vacation. As Fox reports, the conference “includes breakout sessions, a gala and various events aimed at promoting LGBTQ diversity in the workplace.”
Who approved this abomination? Disgraced director Kimberly Cheatle? Acting director Ronald Rowe? I’d like names, and obviously some accountability (fat chance).
But wait, hasn’t the agency been telling the American people it “lacks the resources” to properly protect President Trump, which is why he’s been deciseconds and minutes from death on at least two known occasions (respectively) in the last several months? So the Secret Service ostensibly doesn’t have the funding to protect President Trump, but it does have the money to send its staff to an LGBTQ-people-in-the-workplace conference at an notoriously expensive amusement park—okay.
While Fox stressed that this is a trip for Secret Service staff and not the agents themselves, an agency spokesman revealed that the staff members set to attend are those “responsible for the implementation of federal special emphasis programs” — ergo, this will certainly have an effect on the efficacy and competency of the agents. Seriously, they may as well have just sent the agents themselves since a gayer and woker workforce is going to be the end result anyway.

In the same mental space as this story from yesterday.
[FoxNews] Chang urges US to 'stop underwriting' China amid rising tension.
Chinese President Xi Jinping may be on the verge of doing something "horrendous" after sending two "war signals" within 10 days of each other, says one expert.
Gordon Chang, senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute and author of ‘Plan Red: China’s Project to Destroy America,’ joined FOX Business' "Mornings with Maria" on Thursday to discuss the U.S. adversary’s rising aggression.
His comments come after the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China announced that its military had launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Wednesday morning.
The missile, which carried a dummy warhead and was not targeting any particular nation, fell into the ocean without incident. The People's Liberation Army's Rocket Force claims that the launch was part of its routine military training calendar.
"That’s a war signal. That’s a second war signal that we’ve gotten from China in the last 10 days, which means that Xi Jinping is about to do something truly horrendous," Chang warned.
Chang argued that the U.S. needs to "stop underwriting the enemy," and that the country needs a president who will prepare Americans for "what could happen."
"We have a Biden administration that is not willing to talk to the American people about the imminence of what China is prepared to do," he stressed.
Chang went on to mention that Biden "opened the door" to the multiple threats the U.S. is currently facing, including from Russia.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced revisions to the country’s nuclear doctrine. The revised version of the document states that an attack against his country by a nonnuclear power with the "participation or support of a nuclear power" will be seen as a "joint attack on the Russian Federation."
Putin "made those threats prior to invading Ukraine and Biden backed down," Chang explained. "And so, Putin thought, ‘well, clearly, we can do more of this.’"
He went on to mention that the Chinese, as well as the North Koreans, started making new threats following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
"We have China and the most rapid nuclear buildup since the Cold War," Chang said, arguing that U.S. enemies are "thinking of coordinating nuke attacks on the United States."
"God knows, we’re heading into, perhaps, the worst moment in history," he warned.

Think it thru - if Pooh was going to do something, would he wait until after the election with the chance Trump could overcome the cheat/illegal vote or now with Jill in charge?

Given what we know about Chinesecorruption. I would suspect it will occur on an historic date or event given it will be the beginning of Chinas overt attempt at world domination. Probably replacing that date/events. Significance. I don’t think it will be 10/10, that is too obvious. Something more obscure but symbolic. It will occur after the election so they know how to coordinate and use US assets within and outside the country.

Our guys routinely launch ICBMs from Vandenberg Space Force base. That's just up the road apiece from here on the southern California coast. Makes for great light shows in the evenings. Kimmie does it too. Doesn't mean we're going to war.

The Secretary of State also took the moment to warn Israel’s enemies not to use the regional instability to attack American targets.
“You want to attack Israel? Fine, we’ll restrain them again. Just stay away from the Americans, capisce?”

[Regnum] Microscopic tardigrades
…known in the vernacular as water bears or moss piglets, they’re eyeless, microscopic critters that live in the water and can survive extreme environments…
have been discovered for the first time on the Franz Josef Land archipelago. This was reported by the director of the Russian Arctic National Park, Alexander Kirilov. According to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management:
Franz Josef Land is a multiisland archipelago that occupies an area of about 25,000 km² and, together with northern Svalbard, is an Arctic outpost of the European continent formed by the uplifted and highly broken northern margin of the Barents Shelf.
According to him, this year microbiologists from the Russian Technical University took part in a comprehensive expedition to the archipelago, studying the bacteriological population of the territory.
“In the samples they took, microscopic animals were found, up to about one millimeter in size, they are called ‘water bears’ or tardigrades,” TASS reports Kirilov as saying.
Always a good sign when things that ought to be in a place are found there. Well done!
Tardigrades are invertebrates that live in fresh water, wet mosses, and lichens. They can survive in a vacuum, boiling water, and temperatures below -250 degrees. They can also come back to life after almost complete dehydration. Next, we go to Greece:
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on September 24, during excavations in the ancient city of Labrys, located 30 km from Anapa, archaeologists discovered two large altars dedicated to the ancient Greek god Apollo. According to the group of archaeologists, this ancient city was an important center of the ancient state of Sindica, which existed in this territory before our era. Earlier, Russian scientists discovered bacteria that could be used to develop an innovative preparation for cleaning soils from oil products.
Sure, they are cute when they are tiny and microscope, but you don't want to be around when the big ones the size of a zeppelin show up. Remember that planet that used to be between Mars and Jupiter? The one that is now an asteroid belt? Tardigrades, man!

If confirmed, Zainab’s death could have significant symbolic implications for Hezbollah, potentially influencing the group's response to the escalating conflict with Israel.
Zainab Nasrallah, the daughter of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, was reportedly killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday.
Channel 12 in Israel reported her death, though there has been no official confirmation from Hezbollah or Lebanese authorities.
Zainab, known for her outspoken loyalty to Hezbollah and her family's sacrifices, had previously spoken publicly about the death of her brother, Hadi, who was killed by Israeli forces in 1997.
In a 2022 interview on Al-Manar TV, she described her family’s reaction: "When my brother Hadi was ’martyred,’ my parents did not shed a single tear," reflecting the family's pride in their path.
She noted that her mother viewed Hadi’s death as a "shortcut" to the afterlife, and the family chose to honor his sacrifice rather than mourn traditionally.
A CULTURE OF MARTYRDOM
"We are embarrassed that we have made such a small sacrifice compared to other families of martyrs," she stated, highlighting the family's conviction and commitment to Hezbollah's ideology.
Her statements underscored the public narrative that martyrdom is seen as a noble cause within her family and among Hezbollah supporters.

[REGNUM] The main news of September in the world of culture and art was a discovery by the Leipzig Library. In the middle of the month, a serenade by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, unknown for 260 years, was discovered in its archives.
On September 21, excited queues of people formed outside the elegant building of the Leipzig Opera House, eager to be the first to hear Mozart's string trio, the serenade "Serenate ex C" - "Ganz kleine Nachtmusik" ("Little Night Music") performed by students of the Leipzig J. S. Bach School of Music. Two violins and a cello were heard.
There were too many guests, not all of them could even get into the theater foyer, so the musicians played three times. The last time - on the porch of the Opera. At the same time, a more intimate, but actually world premiere took place in the composer's homeland, in Salzburg, Austria, two days earlier.
The phenomenon of Mozart is explained by many factors: the cliche of "child genius" that has become firmly entrenched in him, his incredible creative fertility, the fact that he became one of the three icons of musical classicism... But above all, Mozart was and remains a pop star. The same idol, adored by the European mass public in the era of romanticism, was Franz Liszt, and in the 20th century Freddie Mercury.
Mozart was also lucky with his producer, who was his own father, who was busy with European tours for the young talent. Thanks to this, his name was known to almost all of Europe.
In the modern world, anyone, even the most distant from academic music, has certainly heard Mozart's music - in movies, advertisements and various kinds of videos. Scientists, in turn, are finding out whether the composer's works, as the "healed" claim, really cure allergies and mental illnesses.
Whether this is true is unknown. But one thing is clear: Mozart's music is light and airy, even the late symphonies and the mysterious opera "The Magic Flute", shrouded in Masonic secrets, do not seem to ordinary people to be "complex music for professionals". The only exception is the controversial and enigmatic requiem, to which Alexander Pushkin added mystery with his little drama.
"A LITTLE CHARMING SERENADE"
The trio score discovered in Leipzig has, of course, raised questions among musicologists: it is not so rare in the world to find notes of unknown pieces and try to attribute them to geniuses, insists the leading Mozart scholar, specialist of the Salzburg House of Mozart Ulrich Leisinger. But at the moment there is no doubt - this is a work by Mozart.
"Absolutely charming!" Leisinger added in comments to the media.
More reserved in her emotions on camera, Leipzig library director Susanne Metz agrees: experts really do not doubt that it is Mozart. But it is always worth being careful.
The discovered work is a seven-part piece, a minuet with multiple repetitions. The trio was found in a collection by musician and musicologist Karl Ferdinand Becker, to whom German music owes much of its painstaking systematization. Becker not only wrote canonical articles for German musicology on various academic composers, but also diligently collected collections and reference books that are still actively used by German music schools.
According to researchers, the discovered serenade was written by the composer in the 1760s, when he was 10–13 years old. Mozart had not yet become a student at the Bologna Academy or a Knight of the Golden Spur, but had already begun to write his first sonatas.
The discovered notes are a copy made from a manuscript presumably in 1780, and are now included in a new edition of the Köchel catalogue, a chronological complete list of the composer's works, which was developed and maintained by the staff of the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
DEDICATION TO A FRIEND AND NOTES SAVED FROM FIRE
Musical works are most often discovered completely by accident - during fires, fund moves and, of course, in private collections of the heirs of the lucky ones who received the work as a gift, but did not appreciate the scale of the personality of their contemporary and comrade in time.
In 2005, Saxony was shocked by the discovery of a previously unknown vocal work by Bach, which he dedicated to the Duke of Saxony, George I Ludwig, in 1713. The Weimar library of Duchess Anna Amalia, housed in a 16th-century castle, was on fire, but the score was among the papers removed from it shortly before the fire.
Bach's organ composition Wo Gott der Herr nicht bei uns haelt ("Where the Lord God is not with us") was discovered by scientists from the Martin Luther University in Halle in 2008 at an auction, where it was put up for auction under the authorship of the 19th century organist Wilhelm Rust. The score turned out to be a whole century older.
In 2017, literally on the eve of the anniversary of the Soviet composer Dmitry Shostakovich, the play "Impromptu" was found in the personal collection of the People's Artist of the RSFSR, violist Vadim Borisovsky, a friend of Shostakovich. It was immediately studied by specialists from the Main Archival Administration of Moscow and the authorship was confirmed.
It turned out that the composer had simply given a small piece to a friend, signing it: "To dear Alexander Mikhailovich, in memory of our acquaintance. D. Shostakovich 2/V 1931, Leningrad." The piece was in his personal documents. The only mystery is why the notes ended up with Borisovsky, and not with the addressee - another viola player, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Alexander Ryvkin.
UNKNOWN HOLMES AND CEZANNE BEHIND THE WALLPAPER
Such unexpected successes also happen with great literary finds. In 2015, the British historian Walter Elliott found in his attic a manuscript of a previously unknown story by Conan Doyle about Sherlock Holmes, which a friend had once given him as a gift.
In 2014, an unknown poem by American poet Walt Whitman was found by Wendy Katz, an art history professor at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She was working in the archives of the Library of Congress and came across a newspaper printed in the 19th century. One of the pages contained a poem titled “To Brian, Nature’s Poet,” published when Whitman was not yet a recognized classic.
At the same time, discoveries can also be the result of painstaking work: while sorting through the archive of one of the main English-language science fiction writers, Herbert Wells, in 2016, the editor of The Strand magazine, Andrew Jully, found a previously unpublished story, “The Haunted Ceiling.”
As for painting, finds happen even more often. Sometimes works by masters of the past are found in the possession of collectors who, either unknowingly or intentionally, do not report that they own a masterpiece. Last year, this happened with two miniature portraits by Rembrandt, a caricature by Claude Monet and a portrait of Chiara Fancelli by Raphael. An even more amazing story happened with a work by Paul Cezanne, which was found under the wallpaper in an old house.
Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.
[Korrespondent] 21:47 Zelensky said he hopes to stop Putin before November: "We must do this, we will try on the battlefield with our heroic warriors. But we understand that after November we will have to decide, and we hope that the US force will be powerful. We are counting on it."
The Ukrainian president also said that the "victory plan" was presented by the United States: "And we explained each point. Now, at the level of our teams, we will work to fill each step, each decision. Strong positions for Ukraine are a faster world. Everything key for Ukraine is on the table with partners, everything is being considered. Range, defense package, sanctions against Russia, steps on Russian assets. We have managed to work on all topics. We are preparing for a meeting in Germany within the framework of Ramstein - this is a format where, together with partners, we will follow the content of the points of the victory plan. I thank President Biden for the invitation."
21:33 Hungary will take part in the first meeting of the Friends of Peace initiative in New York, which is being founded by China and Brazil with a call to start negotiations to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said.
21:04 Trump said after meeting with Zelensky that he favors a "fair" peace for Ukraine, but refrained from giving specifics on what kind of agreement to end the war he would consider fair. When asked what he sees as a "fair" agreement to end the Russia-Ukraine war, Trump replied: "It's too early to talk about that."
20:16 Zelensky said he had a "very meaningful" meeting with Trump: "I presented him with a plan for victory. We discussed in detail the situation in Ukraine and the consequences of the war for our people. We discussed many details. Thank you for this meeting. A just peace is needed. We have a common view that the war in Ukraine must be stopped. Putin cannot win. The Ukrainians must win."
18:02 Zelensky and Trump have started a meeting in New York. The US presidential candidate said that Zelensky is going through incredible trials, and Zelensky said that he and Trump "have a common point of view that the war in Ukraine must be stopped." Trump also said that he has good relations with Putin, to which Zelensky expressed hope that Trump has better relations with him.
17:50 The International Federation of the Red Cross has refused to exclude the Russian Red Cross from its membership. The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, said that he would inform the donors who finance the organization about this, "since they should pay attention to the fact that they are giving money to the IFRC, which covers up Russian crimes." At the same time, Lubinets proposed to redirect all funding to the Ukrainian Red Cross.
17:27 Russians shelled populated areas of Donetsk region throughout the day: four people were wounded in Konstantinovka, two in the Vysoko-Ivanovka microdistrict of the Slavyansk community, and one in Mirnograd, the prosecutor's office reported.
16:39 Two more bodies were pulled out from under the rubble of the administrative building in Krivoy Rog, the number of victims of the Russian strike has risen to three. Six people were injured, reported the head of the OVA, Serhiy Lysak.
16:26 Bloomberg writes that Ukraine's allies are facing financial difficulties, which threatens military aid in 2025. Thus, a key part of the support is the G7 plan for $50 billion in loans obtained from frozen Russian assets. However, the allies have not yet agreed on the final details of the agreement, and there is a risk that Hungary could block it.
But even if the agreement is approved, this money is still not enough to meet Ukraine's needs for the next year of war. In addition, many European countries have their own economic problems, so they are cutting aid, the agency notes.
15:58 A major offensive by Russian troops in the Kursk region has ended in failure, writes Bild. The publication recalls that Putin had already announced in mid-August the need to regain control of the entire territory of the Kursk region by October 1, but it was only on September 17 that Russian tanks advanced south from Korenevo. The Kremlin soon announced that the Russian Armed Forces had until mid-October to regain control of the territories occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
However, this goal also seems illusory for now, the publication notes. Ukrainian forces are not ready to retreat without a fight - the command is transferring new units to the Kursk region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to outflank the Russian counterattack in Kursk and force the Russian army units to defend themselves in several directions at once.
14:43 The UN does not have enough funds to help Ukraine in winter, said UNHCR representative in Ukraine Caroline Lindholm Billing: "The reality is that the funding situation for organizations like ours is too bad at this time of year - we are 47% funded." At the same time, Ukraine's European neighbors fear a new wave of refugees in winter due to power outages.
13:17 In Krivoy Rog, as a result of today's strike, one person was killed and five were injured, search operations are ongoing. In addition to the police department, 23 private houses, three nine-story buildings, and an educational institution were damaged, said the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA Serhiy Lysak.
11:49 GUR hackers attacked more than 800 servers across Russia, Ukrainian media write, citing sources. The cyber specialists' operation lasted from September 23 to 26. As a result, documents and data stored on the affected servers were completely destroyed. We are talking about servers of military, administrative and financial institutions that ensure Russia's aggression against Ukraine. All data on the servers was deleted without the possibility of recovery.
11:18 In the morning, the Russian army attacked Ingulets, Dar'ivska community, Kherson region, with KABs - four people were wounded, including two children aged four and 15, OVA reported. The previous evening, the Russians also attacked Tomina Balka with rocket artillery - one person was killed, one was wounded.
10:54 Russians launched a missile attack on the district police department in Krivoy Rog, three casualties are currently known. There may be people under the rubble, emergency rescue operations are ongoing, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
10:17 A third of the Toretsk community is currently under the control of Russian troops, while the rest of the territory is experiencing intense fighting, said Vasily Chinchik, head of the GVA. According to him, enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups of 3-5 people are penetrating residential areas, critical infrastructure facilities, gradually accumulating and trying to "press" and seize city territory with numbers. The enemy is using FPV drones, surveillance aircraft and reconnaissance drones.
10:11 U.S. intelligence believes that Russia could escalate its aggression against the United States and its allies if Kiev is allowed to use Western missiles to strike deep into Russia. The assessment, which has not previously been made public, was given to The New York Times by anonymous U.S. officials. According to the intelligence, Ukraine’s limited stockpiles of missiles could reduce their strategic value on the battlefield, and uncertainty about future deliveries raises questions about the missiles’ real impact on the outcome of the war.
10:04 China and the countries of the Global South are creating an international group to end the war in Ukraine - it will be called "Friends of Peace", said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a meeting with Advisor to the President of Brazil Celso Amorim. According to Wang Yi, "Friends of Peace" are not closed groups, but open platforms.
"Instead of competition, we seek inclusive dialogue. The Friends of Peace were born for peace, and the international community should welcome them. The Friends of Peace are called upon to provide an objective and rational voice and will play a constructive role in the political settlement of the Ukrainian issue," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
