Second bomb of Saturday kills 3 in Lower Shabelle
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[Garowe] Twin bomb blasts killed at least three people in Somalia on Saturday, officials said, noting that no group had taken responsibility for explosions in Mogadishu and Lower Shabelle, which also left scores of people critically injured.

The first blast targeted a restaurant in Mogadishu, killing at least three people and injuring three others, police said. The blast targeted Gel Doh restaurant in Hamarweyne, officials said, adding that the explosion took place near the National Theatre, which is also somehow close to the Presidential Palace which is frequented by senior government officials and security officers, who might have been the target of the executioners.

According to officials, the second explosion was recorded in Lower Shabelle where the Somali National Army, the local militia the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), and the US Africa Command are involved in active operations.

The explosion left three people dead and scores injured according to security officials. Although the motives of the two explosions remain largely unknown, the Al-Shabab militants carry out similar attacks in the Horn of Africa nation.

Jordanian FM: Arab world willing to guarantee Israel’s security if Palestinian state established
Posted because I’m sure we could all use a cleansing belly laugh.
[IsraelTimes] In a recent press conference on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi insisted that Arab and Muslim countries will guarantee Israel’s security if Jerusalem agrees to allow the establishment of a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines, while blasting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s refusal to do so.

“The Israeli prime minister came here today and said that Israel is surrounded by those who want to destroy it,” Safadi said at a Friday press conference shortly after Netanyahu finished his speech at the UN General Assembly.

“We’re here — members of the Muslim-Arab committee, mandated by 57 Arab and Muslim countries — and I can tell you very unequivocally, all of us are willing to guarantee the security of Israel in the context of Israel ending the occupation and allowing for the emergence of a Palestinian state,” Safadi passionately argued.

Netanyahu “is creating that danger because he simply does not want the two-state solution. If he does not want the two-state solution, can you ask Israeli officials what is their end-game — other than just wars and wars and wars?”

“All of us in the Arab world here, want a peace in which Israel lives in peace and security, accepted, normalized with all Arab countries in the context of ending the occupation, withdrawing from Arab territory, allowing for the emergence of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lies with East Jerusalem as its capital,” Safadi continues.

“The amount of damage that this Israeli government has done — 30 years of efforts to convince people that peace is possible, this Israeli government killed it. The amount of dehumanization, hatred, bitterness, will take generations to navigate through,” the Jordanian foreign minister says. “We have no partner for peace in Israel, there is a partner for peace in the Arab world, and that’s why the international community needs to move.”

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
IDF carries out dozens of strikes in Bekaa Valley overnight Monday
[IsraelTimes] IDF intercepts suspicious target from Lebanon after Hezbollah rockets reach as far as Haifa

The IDF said it hit dozens of Hezbollah targets in the Bekaa Valley region of Lebanon overnight. Among the sites attacked were rocket launchers and buildings where Hezbollah was storing weapons, the army said, adding that it also struck other sites in southern Lebanon being used by Hezbollah for terror operations against Israel. The IDF said that it struck 120 Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon on Sunday alone.

The IDF said its air defense fighters also successfully intercepted a suspicious aerial target that crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanon overnight and that rocket sirens were activated in the area of the northern border town of Ramot Naftali due to falling fragments from the missile interceptor.

Israel has turned its focus from Gaza to Lebanon in recent days, carrying out strikes on Hezbollah targets and killing the terror group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, on Friday.

Israeli drones hovered over Beirut for much of Sunday, with the loud blasts of new airstrikes echoing around the Lebanese capital. Displaced families spent the night on benches at Zaitunay Bay, a string of restaurants and cafes on Beirut’s waterfront.

Lebanon’s health ministry reported at least 105 people killed in Israeli strikes on Sunday, with 359 people wounded. It did not say how many were civilians.

Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets at northern Israeli towns throughout Sunday, including the city of Haifa, with the launches continuing to reach deep into Israeli territory, even after Nasrallah’s killing. There were no reports, however, of any injuries or damage in Israel.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot arrived in Lebanon on Sunday night, the first high-level foreign diplomat to visit since the Israeli airstrikes intensified. Barrot told Prime Minister Najib Mikati that Paris sought “an immediate halt” to Israeli strikes.
Does anyone even notice when France speaks anymore?
Israeli military operations in Lebanon seek to downgrade Hezbollah’s capacity to attack Israel, eliminate the group’s military leadership and “clean” the border areas from fighters, an Israeli security official said Friday. Israeli leaders say they want tens of thousands of citizens displaced from the north due to Hezbollah’s near-daily attacks to be able to safely return.

The military said dozens of its warplanes had also attacked targets of Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen on Sunday. Houthi-linked media reports said the strikes killed four people and wounded 33.

Separately, Israel’s military said the airstrike that killed Nasrallah had “eliminated” another 20 Hezbollah members. Earlier strikes killed Nasrallah’s right-hand man Fuad Shukr and the head of the elite Radwan Force, Ibrahim Aqil. Israel also said Nabil Qaouk, a member of Hezbollah’s central council, was killed in a strike on Saturday. Hezbollah has yet to officially announce his death, but a source close to the group said Qaouk had been killed.

UN refugee chief Filippo Grandi said “well over 200,000 people are displaced inside Lebanon” and more than 50,000 have fled to neighboring Syria. Mikati said up to one million people may have been uprooted, in potentially the “largest displacement movement” in Lebanon’s history.
Somehow when Israel is involved, it’s always the worst whatever in history.
In northern Gaza, Hamas’s civil defense said Israeli strikes Sunday night killed several people. The IDF said its fighter planes targeted Hamas terrorists operating a command center from a building that was previously used as a school there.

The army said it took many steps ahead of time to reduce harm to civilians in the strike, including choosing more precise weapons and conducting aerial observations of the site ahead of time.

The United States has urged a diplomatic resolution to the conflict in Lebanon but has also authorized its military to reinforce in the region. US President Joe Biden, asked if an all-out war in the Middle East could be avoided, said “It has to be.” He said he would soon be talking to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israeli drone strike in Beirut said to kill two members of another Sunni terror group
[IsraelTimes] Two people were killed in an Israeli strike in Beirut shortly after midnight on Monday, a Lebanese security source says, the first strike in a part of the city that wasn’t in the Dahiyeh Hezbollah stronghold in the southern suburbs.

An Israeli drone targeted an apartment belonging to two members of the Lebanese terror group al-Jama’a al-Islamiyya (Islamic Group), says the source.

Al-Jama’a al-Islamiyya, like Hamas, is a Sunni faction that forms part of the broader Muslim Brotherhood political network. The armed wing of the group, the al-Fajr Forces, has repeatedly targeted Israel from Lebanon in the current war, often working in conjunction with the Shi’ite Hezbollah.

The IDF has yet to comment on the strike, but does tweet that the army is targeting Hezbollah sites in the Bekaa Valley region of Lebanon.

Hamas says its leader in Lebanon was killed in Israeli airstrike
[IsraelTimes] Palestinian terror group Hamas says that its leader in Lebanon, Fateh Sherif Abu el-Amin, was killed in an Israeli strike in the south of the country.

The group says a number of his family members were also killed in the strike.

“Fateh Sherif Abu el-Amin, the leader of Hamas… in Lebanon and member of the movement’s leadership abroad” was killed in a strike on his “home in the Al-Bass camp in south Lebanon,” a Hamas statement says.

The official National News Agency reported an airstrike near the southern city of Tyre.

US strikes on Syria kill 37 with links to ISIS, al-Qaeda, including 2 top terrorists
[IsraelTimes] CENTCOM says strikes ‘will disrupt ISIS’ capability to conduct operations against US interests; also targeted Islamic State training camp earlier this month, killing 28 terrorists

In Syria, 37 terrorists affiliated to the jihadist Islamic State group and an al-Qaeda-linked group were killed in two strikes, the United States military said Sunday.

Two of the dead were senior terrorists, it said.

US Central Command said it struck northwestern Syria on Tuesday, targeting a senior terrorist from the al-Qaeda-linked Hurras al-Deen group and eight others.

It said he was responsible for overseeing military operations.

It also announced a strike from September 16, in which it conducted a “large-scale airstrike” on an Islamic State training camp in a remote undisclosed location in central Syria. That attack killed 28 terrorists, including “at least four Syrian leaders.”

“The airstrike will disrupt ISIS’ capability to conduct operations against US interests, as well as our allies and partners,” the statement read.

There are some 900 US forces in Syria, along with an undisclosed number of contractors, mostly trying to prevent any comeback by the extremist IS group, which swept through Iraq and Syria in 2014, taking control of large swaths of territory.

US forces advise and assist their key allies in northeastern Syria, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, located not far from strategic areas where Iran-backed terror groups are present, including a key border crossing with Iraq.

In first, Olmert confirms Israel killed Hezbollah chief Mughniyeh in Syria in 2008
“He’s dead, Jim.”
“Dr. Quincy — how do you always know!?!”
[IsraelTimes] Former PM says bumper of car exploded in Damascus, killing arch-terrorist 16 years ago; lauds Nasrallah assassination as ‘important’ but unlikely to ‘change reality’

Former prime minister Ehud Olmert on Saturday confirmed for the first time that Israel was responsible for the death of Hezbollah global operations chief Imad Mughniyeh, who died in a bomb blast in Damascus in 2008.

“We haven’t talked about it until today,” Olmert said in an interview with Channel 13 news, “but it seems to me that by now we can admit it. After we eliminated the entire leadership of Hezbollah, we can admit that 16 years ago we eliminated the biggest, most abominable, most despicable mass murderer they ever had, who built the entire Hezbollah military wing.”

The former premier’s comments come after Israel on Friday assassinated Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in an underground command HQ in Beirut.

In his Saturday night interview, Olmert lauded the “important” assassination of Nasrallah, who he said was “responsible for 20 years or more of endless wars, of endless injuries, of killing many Israelis.”

Asked about his approval of Mughniyeh’s assassination in 2008, during his term as prime minister, Olmert said, “In this case, it was an operation that took place in another country, not in the country where he lives, not in Lebanon, and there were all kinds of dramatic aspects about which I cannot speak.”

“What exploded was the bumper of the car we placed there so that when Mugniyeh passed, we could press the button and trap him,” he said without giving further details.

“There were endless ‘James Bond’ type operations, but I’ll tell you a secret, and I think it’s important to say, even amid the excitement of this evening,” Olmert said. “These operations are very important. They always have some dimension that stirs enthusiasm… but they usually do not change reality. They can create a resonance that can generate some kind of momentum, but let’s not overdo it.”

Mughniyeh was implicated in some of the Iran-backed terror group’s major attacks, including the 1992 bombing at the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires and the 1994 bombing of the AMIA building in the Argentinian capital, in which 85 people were killed.

The senior Hezbollah terrorist was also involved in the 1983 bombing at the US embassy in Beirut, the killing in 1985 of the CIA’s Lebanon chief William F. Buckley, and the 1996 bombing at the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia. In the years after the 2003 US invasion if Iraq, Mughniyeh was responsible for the arming and training of Iranian-backed Shiite militias in Iraq who carried out deadly attacks on American troops — all of which put him at the top of the US’s wanted list.

International outlets have reported that Mughniyeh was assassinated in a joint Mossad-CIA operation that required special approval from then-US president George W. Bush, and a Showtime miniseries released last year included interviews with ex-Mossad and -CIA officials discussing the operation.

Israel has denied responsibility for killing Mughniyeh and the US has never admitted involvement in the operation. A US State Department spokesman said after the killing: “The world is a better place without this man in it. He was a coldblooded killer, a mass murderer, and a terrorist responsible for countless innocent lives lost.”

Lebanon’s caretaker PM: ‘We have no option but the diplomatic option’
Yes, but all you can do is surrender to the IDF. The government of Lebanon has absolutely nothing else to bargain with, and you cannot even enforce that if Hezbollah’s leadership, whoever they are, chooses not to agree. Or if Iran, which holds Hezbollah’s leash, refuses to allow it.
[IsraelTimes] Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati says in a televised speech that his country had "no option but the diplomatic option," in response to a question about diplomatic efforts to end fighting between Israel and the Hezbollah terror group.

He also says the intensified fighting may have forced up to a million people to flee parts of Lebanon in possibly the worst displacement crisis in the country’s history.

Mikati tells news hounds that "the estimated number is very high and may reach one million" — which would amount to roughly a sixth of Lebanon’s population.

"It is the largest displacement movement that may have happened... in Lebanon," he says.

Sa’ar: Rejoining government now is ‘the patriotic thing to do’; Netanyahu: ‘We’ve put the grudges of the past behind us’
Strengthening the position of Bibi’s government in the Knesset.
[IsraelTimes] In a joint press statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and New Hope leader Gideon Sa’ar announce Sa’ar’s re-entry into the government.

Netanyahu thanks Sa’ar for responding positively to his offer to return to the governing coalition, praising him for his "broad vision and his ability to offer creative solutions to complicated problems."

"It is no secret that we have had disagreements in the past," says Netanyahu of Sa’ar, "but since October 7 we have put all the grudges of the past behind us."

For his part, Sa’ar says that his decision to re-enter the government, despite withdrawing his party from the emergency coalition back in March comes amid "difficult and challenging days."

"It is important to strengthen Israel, its government, and its unity and cohesion," he says. "Therefore I acceded to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s request to join the government and contribute to its work in decision-making forums with my experience and abilities. This is the patriotic and right thing to do now."

Sa’ar makes clear that he is joining the coalition as a minister without portfolio. He said last week he was offered the post of defense minister but turned it down. Netanyahu is widely believed to be determined to fire Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in the near future — and replace him either with Sa’ar or another current minister.

Sa’ar heads a four-strong party, and thus his New Hope’s entry into the coalition raises it to 68 of the 120 Knesset members, solidifying Netanyahu’s governing majority.

Europe
Austria’s far-right Freedom Party headed for historic win in general elections
Another rightwing populist party enters the winners box because voters have given up on the mainstream parties fixing the Moslem colonist problem they created.
[IsraelTimes] Austrian voters have handed a first-ever general election victory to the far-right Freedom Party (FPO) on Sunday, vote projections show, underlining rising support for hard-right parties in Europe fueled by concern over immigration levels.

The Eurosceptic, Russia-friendly FPO held a slim lead in opinion polls for months over Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s ruling conservative Austrian People’s Party (OVP) in a campaign dominated by immigration and worries about the economy.

Led by Herbert Kickl, the FPO is projected to secure 29.1% of the vote, ahead of the OVP on 26.2%, and the center-left Social Democrats on 20.4%, a projection by pollster Foresight for broadcaster ORF shows after polls closed.

A separate projection by pollster Arge Wahlen also has the FPO coming first, winning by around 4 percentage points.

The winner will fall short of an absolute majority, but will claim the right to lead a coalition.

If confirmed, Kickl’s victory may prove pyrrhic, as the 55-year-old is a polarising figure under whom other party leaders have refused to serve.

He has given no indication so far he could step aside to ensure his party leads the government.

“What’s at stake is whether the FPO will appoint the chancellor or not,” explains Kathrin Stainer-Haemmerle, a political science professor at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences.

“Should that happen, then I have to say the role of Austria in the European Union would be significantly different. Kickl has often said that (Hungarian Prime Minister) Viktor Orban is a role model for him and he will stand by him.”

US boosts ‘defensive’ air support and hikes troops’ readiness to deploy for Middle East
[IsraelTimes] US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has authorized the military to reinforce its presence in the Middle East with “defensive” air-support capabilities and put other forces on a heightened readiness status, the Pentagon says.

Austin has “increased the readiness of additional US forces to deploy, elevating our preparedness to respond to various contingencies,” Pentagon spokesman Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder says in a statement.

The statement does not detail what new aircraft will be deploying to the region.

“Secretary Austin made clear that should Iran, its partners, or its proxies use this moment to target American personnel or interests in the region, the United States will take every necessary measure to defend our people,” Ryder adds.
Subsequently he shared details, reported Fox News, courtesy of Skidmark in comments:
He said Austin "directed that the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group (CSG) remain in the US Centcom theater and that the USS Wasp Amphibious Ready Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit (ARG/MEU) will continue to operate in the Eastern Mediterranean." The afloat posture, Ryder said, "is complemented by DoD’s elevated fighter and attack squadron presence, including F-22, F-15E, F-16, and A-10 aircraft, and we will further reinforce our defensive air-support capabilities in the coming days."

IDF says it hit Hamas members operating out of former school serving as shelter in north Gaza
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it carried out an airstrike against a group of Hamas operatives operating out of a former school in the northern Gaza Strip a short while ago.

According to the military, Hamas was using the Umm al-Fahm School in Beit Lahiya to plan and carry out attacks against IDF troops and against Israel.

The school has been serving as a shelter for displaced Palestinians.

The IDF says it took steps to mitigate civilian harm in the strike, and accuses Hamas of “systematically” using civilian sites for terror.

IDF: Troops destroyed kilometer-long tunnel with rooms in central Gaza Strip
Heartening video of the work at the link.
[IsraelTimes] A kilometer-long tunnel was recently located and demolished in the central Gaza Strip, the IDF announces.

The tunnel, which the military says was built under a civilian area and close to several homes, was found by troops of the 5th Brigade and combat engineers, including members of the elite Yahalom Combat Engineering Unit.

Inside the tunnel, the IDF says troops found several rooms, equipment, and weapons belonging to Hamas operatives.

Israel has launch 'limited' ground invasion in Lebanon
[FoxNews] Israel's ground invasion into Lebanon imminent as cabinet approves next phase of the war. Biden demands a 'ceasefire now' but sends more troops to Middle East as Israel prepares invasion

The international community is bracing for Israel's imminent invasion into southern Lebanon, as troops from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are expected to step foot into the country on Tuesday morning.

A senior U.S. official confirmed the invasion plans to Fox News on Monday. It is believed that the ground campaign will be smaller in scale than the 2006 operation Israel conducted in its war with Hezbollah, and is also expected to last a shorter period of time.

The ministers of Israel's political security cabinet approved the next phase of the operation in Lebanon, according to the Jerusalem Post, but it is unclear when the incursion will begin. Israel launched strikes into Lebanon on Monday night into Tuesday morning, but the ground invasion had not begun as of 1:30 a.m. local time.

Following the confirmation of an imminent Israeli invasion on Monday afternoon, the Pentagon told reporters that it is sending a "few thousand" more troops to the Middle East to augment U.S. forces already there on heightened alert – just one day after President Biden said he would not deploy more troops to the region.

Taxpayer-Funded Minneapolis Food Pantry Bans Whites From Accessing Resources
[GatewayPundit] A taxpayer-funded food pantry in Minnesota has come under fire after it was revealed that the owner attempted to block white people from accessing the resources. Mykela ‘keiko’ Jackson opened a pantry on July 27th using funds the obtained through a Minnesota State grant, for the purpose of feeding poor and hungry residents near the Sanctuary Covenant Church. However, the pantry was forced to relocate after a church chaplain filed a complaint over Jackson allegedly discouraging white people from using the service.

Chaplain Howard Dotson, 54, told Alpha News that he had stopped by the pantry for himself, but was denied service due to being a white male.
Chaplin Dotson has a fondness for Governor Tim Walz and Palestinian B&W checkered scarves, according to photos at the Daily Mail linked in the Gateway Pundit article. One can understand why Ms Keiko would assume he was an ally. Also, looking at a photo of the selection of foods Ms Keiko offers, I have to wonder where the grant money is really going…
Dotson took photos of a sign that Jackson had on the pantry door that read, ‘The resources found here are for Black and Indigenous Folx. Please refrain from taking anything if you’re not.’ He also reported the incident to the Minneapolis Civil Rights Commission.

”This is not building community, its destroying it,” he told Alpha News. “I went over there and confronted her. I told her that I saw the sign and I asked if she really thought she could take grant money from the state and discriminate against poor white people.”

According to the DailyMail, Jackson addmitted to hanging the sign, but claims that she did not turn anyone away. She then accused the chaplain of ‘political violence’.

”There was no one there directly turning them away. They felt entitled to the resources that were not for their demographic – white priviledge is real,” she said.

In a social media post announcing the pantry’s relocation, Jacosn referred to the chaplain as a “karen”, blaming him for the discrimination he faced from her policy.

“It has been recently brought to our attention that our partnership with Sanctuary Church may not be fully aligned with our mission due to a recent ‘Karen’ last week,” Jackson wrote.

“Although the curch likes our concept they feel our commitment towards directing these resources towards Black and Indigenous families ONLY is exclusionary to other POC & White members of the community that use their establishement.”

The DailyMail reported that the Sanctuary Covenant Church has since stated that they felt misled by Jackson’s original proposal. They have asked her to either open her services to all members of the community or relocate.

Jackson refused to accommodate and later stated in her post that the pantry would be relocating to the F.T.P Bodega, claiming that the new venue is more “aligned” with Jackson’s discriminatory beliefs.
Odd, because Hispanics also are not included within her criteria for sharing. Does the bodega owner realize that?

Mark Cuban gives Elon Musk a personal warning about Trump as Tesla owner makes huge claim
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Mark Cuban warned Elon Musk about Donald Trump's sense of loyalty following the Tesla CEO's declaration that this could be America's 'last election' if Trump loses.

The billionaires are feuding over Musk's support of former President Donald Trump. Cuban, the former Dallas Mavericks owner, has thrown his weight behind Kamala Harris.

Musk drew Cuban's ire on Sunday by making the stark claim that Democrats are purposefully shipping enough illegal migrants into swing states to tip the majority in their favor.

'Very few Americans realize that, if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election,' he wrote. 'Far from being a threat to democracy, he is the only way to save it!'

Cuban, who has known Trump for decades, cautioned Musk.

'Elon, there will come a time when you need something from Donald Trump. You will think you will have earned the right to ask and receive,' Cuban wrote.

'You have been a loyal, faithful soldier for him. You have supported him politically with 10s of millions of dollars. Then, at the point you need him the most, you will find out what so many before you have learned, his loyalty is only to himself.'

The Shark Tank star has said he would be willing to do 'whatever I can' to get Harris over the finish line in his home state of Pennsylvania.

Musk had issued a long rant about an impending Democratic plot to shift the electorate should the party retain the White House in November.

He said that Democrats will import millions of voters via illegal immigration over the next four years, fast tracking them to citizenship and pushing swing state margins into the blue column.

'America then becomes a one-party state and Democracy is over. The only 'elections' will be the Democratic Party primaries. This already happened in California many years ago, following the 1986 amnesty,' he wrote.

China-Japan-Koreas
China Launches Massive Military Drills In Disputed South Sea Hours After Blinken Tries To ‘Reduce Regional Tensions’
[ZeroHedge] China didn't just fire the proverbial stimulus bazooka targeting its markets and economy last week: it also fired a literal bazooka in preparation for the inevitable showdown with the US, which is not a matter of if just when.

On Saturday, China's military said that the country's air and naval forces are conducting manoeuvres in a disputed area of the South China Sea, just hours after the country's top diplomat discussed ways of reducing regional tension with his U.S. counterpart, confirming yet again that the world literally can not wait to make fun of Anthony Blinken.

The news, first reported by Reuters, comes after Australia and the Philippines said their militaries would hold a joint maritime activity with Japan, New Zealand and the United States in the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines.

The announcement of the manoeuvres came shortly after China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi met U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in New York for talks that covered ways to avoid conflict in the South China Sea.

In March, Blinken had assured the Philippines its defence partnership with the United States was "ironclad," after Manila accused Beijing of aggressive deployments in the South China Sea of its coast guard and fishing vessels suspected of being a maritime militia.

On Friday Wang "emphasized that China insists on resolving differences with countries directly concerned through dialogue and consultation," during the meeting, his ministry said in a statement.

While Blinken said he raised China's "dangerous and destabilizing actions" in the South China Sea and discussed improving communication between the two nations' militaries, Wang responded that "the U.S. should not always stir up trouble in the South China Sea and should not undermine the efforts of regional countries to maintain peace and stability," and launched the drill just to confirm how little it thinks of US attempts at deterrence.

The Chinese drills will include "routine" early warning and reconnaissance exercises as well as patrols around Scarborough Shoal, the Southern Theatre Command of the People's Liberation Army said in a statement, but gave no details.

"The theatre troops maintain a high degree of vigilance, resolutely defending national sovereignty, security and maritime rights and interests, (and) are firm in maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea," it said.

One of Asia's most contested features, the Scarborough Shoal is 200 km (124 miles) off the Philippines, within its exclusive economic zone. At the same time, China also claims almost the entire South China Sea, including the atoll, coveted for its bountiful fish stocks and stunning turquoise lagoon, despite overlapping claims in the busy waterway by Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam. While in 2016 the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague ruled that China's sweeping claims were not supported by international law, Beijing refuses to recognise the decision. The tribunal did not determine sovereignty over the Scarborough Shoal, which it said was a traditional fishing ground for several countries.

In a report on Friday, a thinktank based in Beijing estimated that warships of various nations spent more than 20,000 days annually in the South China Sea, while more than 30,000 military aircraft traverse it. U.S. navy ships spent about 1,600 days at sea in the region, said the thinktank, the South China Sea Strategic Situation Probing Initiative, as well as an undisclosed number of submarines.

Britain
British Couple Fined £3,000 After Reporting Migrant They Found in the Back of Their Van
[ZeroHedge] In the Year of Our Lord 2024, according to the British governing authorities, if, as a British citizen (a white supremacist terrorist, in other words), you discover on your way home from France a “migrant” who has stashed himself in your automobile, then report the incident to the cops, you find yourself liable for “bringing in a clandestine immigrant.”

Via BBC (emphasis added):

“A couple are calling unfair a £3,000 fine they received after informing police they had found a migrant hiding in their van as they arrived in the UK from France.

Jane Cave and her husband Ed Masters from Broomsthorpe in Norfolk had initially found a man in the back of the van at a supermarket on their way to the French border, and he was removed.

But when travelling through Suffolk on the journey home, they heard knocking and found another migrant and called the police.

Several months after the incident, they received the fine from Border Force, which said it had "sufficient evidence" for the penalty…

A few months later, they received a letter informing them that they were being fined.

"It said we are fining you for bringing in a clandestine immigrant," she said.

"[I thought] why? It's not our fault.

"We did everything right."

The couple must pay the fine within the next two years but was paying monthly due to not being able to pay it off in full…

A Home Office spokesperson said: "We are fully committed to stopping people from illegally entering the country and cracking down on people smugglers.

"We do not issue clandestine entrant civil penalty fines without sufficient evidence."”

The real bitter irony here is that it’s a virtual guarantee this “migrant” was immediately released after being apprehended and presumably is running around the UK at this very moment, free as a jaybird with a government EBT card and a comfy bed in what used to be a school repurposed as a “migrant shelter,” and possibly a couple of underage British sex slaves to keep him warm at night.

Somehow, the Polish — who apparently don’t sufficiently respect Diversity™ and its many blessings — don’t seem to have the same kind of problems.

Texas advocate calls on state to protect unaccompanied minors, Texas children
[JustTheNews] 158 House Democrats voted against deporting sex offenders, including child rapists

After 158 U.S. House Democrats voted against deporting sex offenders, including child rapists, and one U.S. Senate Democrat blocked a bill to strengthen protections for unaccompanied minors, a Texas group is again calling on state leaders to act.

“Despite the extraordinary efforts of [U.S.] Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-IA, and others, Congress is unwilling to protect children,” Sheena Rodriguez told The Center Square.

Rodriguez, the founder and director of Alliance for a Safe Texas, has been calling on the Texas legislature to strengthen state law overseeing facilities housing “unaccompanied alien children” (UACs) in Texas for roughly two years. After meeting with local officials statewide, she discovered a consistent problem: allegations of abuse and neglect of facilities housing UACs in Texas. The facilities are largely funded by taxpayer money and contracted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“What Americans may not realize,” she said, “is the facilities housing UACs run by nongovernmental organizations receiving multimillion dollar contracts with the federal government are also receiving contracts from state governments, including Texas, to house American foster care children.”

State Rep. Stan Kitzman, R-Bellville, and state Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, R-Brenham, filed bills to address the issue. Kitzman’s HB 5000 advanced out of the House State Affairs Committee last year during the regular legislative session but never got a floor vote and died. Kolkhorst’s SB 572 passed the Senate but not the House. Kitzman filed another bill in the third special session, cosponsored by state Rep. Eddie Morales, D-Eagle Pass, which also went nowhere.

A bipartisan group of state lawmakers also called on the Office of the Texas Attorney General to investigate claims of alleged abuse and trafficking of UACs in Texas, which went nowhere. Last year, the Texas legislative session was an extraordinary one: lawmakers were involved in a regular legislative session, four special sessions, and the impeachment and trial of the attorney general who was ultimately acquitted.

In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis called for a grand jury to be convened to investigate alleged abuse of children. It conducted extensive investigations and published multiple reports. It concluded that HHS was “facilitating the forced migration, sale, and abuse of foreign children. This process exposes children to horrifying health conditions, constant criminal threat, labor and sex trafficking, robbery, rape and other experiences not done justice by mere words.”

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody also called on Congress to investigate, which resulted in hearings, at which Rodriguez testified. UACs were placed with unrelated individuals and put in situations “where they are subject to abuse, including rape, molestation, and effectively forced to work to pay for their travel to the United States in violation of child labor laws,” Moody said.

An HHS Office of the Inspector General report also identified how HHS wasn’t vetting sponsors or protecting UACs in their care. Another IG report said that HHS couldn’t account for more than 100,000 UACs, prompting additional investigations by Congress. Still another found that several hundred thousand couldn’t be found once released into the country.

Congressional investigations led by Grassley uncovered multiple issues including UACs being released to MS-13 gang members and alleged traffickers, prompting him to file criminal complaints and Senate Republicans to propose legislatives solutions.

At the state level, an Alliance report outlines the need for state regulatory reform and the impact the facilities have on Texas communities.

Kitzman isn’t backing down and is again filing a bill next year to address the issue. It’s already gained additional bipartisan interest. At a recent Texas Senate Committee on Border Security, Rodriguez testified in support of it.

Rodriguez also testified that since 2021, 62,000 UACs were released to sponsors in Texas, according to data obtained by the New York Times from HHS. The data shows that from January 2021 through May 2023, 27,000 UACs were released to sponsors in Texas who were not their parents; over 6,400 were released to distant relatives or unrelated individuals.

She also pointed out that Texas has the greatest number of HHS-contracted facilities for UACs in the country and the most UACs are sent to Texas from the border.

No other state has nearly the number of facilities or is receiving the volume of UACs than Texas, The Center Square first reported.

At least 52 HHS-contracted facilities were operating in Texas in 2020, according to a GAO report.

Texas, California and Florida have historically received the most UACs; the number exponentially increases every year. In fiscal 2015, Texas received 3,272. By fiscal 2022, 19,071, according to HHS data.

“The federal government continues to fail to protect children, taxpayers, and our communities,” Rodriguez said. “Texas is at the forefront of this crisis. We must not sit idly by. Texas must act.”

She’s again calling on Texas officials to conduct an investigation similar to Florida’s and is urging state lawmakers to support and pass Kitzman’s bill.

Former intelligence officials endorse Harris, echoing Biden laptop letter saga
[JustTheNews] The Democratic talking points in the Harris endorsement by former National Security officials have stirred critics who say it reeks of the same political shenanigans in the Hunter Biden "fake laptop" letter promulgated by then-Biden campaign advisor Antony Blinken and signed by 51 former intelligence officials.

A coterie of former civilian national security officials and military leaders signed on to an open letter last week endorsing Kamala Harris for president, eliciting fresh criticism for the industry that has waded into politics in recent years against Donald Trump and reminiscent of the 11th-hour Hunter Biden laptop letter.

In April of last year, it was discovered that the infamous letter signed by 51 former intelligence officials falsely discredited a New York Post story regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop as supposed Russian disinformation. That led to a censorship and news blackout saga, in which the New York Post story was banned from social media, and mainstream media refused to cover the story. Eventually, The New York Times and Washington Post admitted that the laptop was indeed genuine, several months after Biden was elected. The signatories never mentioned, and both newspapers missed the fact that the FBI had authenticated the laptop months before its release. One of the letter organizers testified in 2023 that then-Biden campaign advisor Antony Blinken, the future secretary of State, first reached out, triggering the effort to draft it.

Published by the National Security Leaders for America and addressed in an open format to the American people, the recent endorsement letter argued that Harris is the only candidate in the race that would be a “serious and capable” commander-in-chief and able to protect “American democracy.”

“This election is a choice between serious leadership and vengeful impulsiveness. It is a choice between democracy and authoritarianism. Vice President Harris defends America’s democratic ideals, while former President Donald Trump endangers them,” the more than 700 former officials, civilians employees, and military veterans wrote.

The echoes of prominent Democratic talking points in the open endorsement letter, for example about GOP nominee Donald Trump being a threat to the democratic process, have stirred criticism from other former national security officials who say their contribution to the election reeks of the same political interference from the community in the Hunter Biden laptop saga and serves to try and undercut Harris’ real electoral vulnerabilities.

Fred Fleitz, former chief of staff to Trump National Security Council, called the letter “preposterous” in an article posted by American Greatness, a journal dedicated to reinvigorated the conservative movement.

“[The] letter makes several ridiculously false accusations, such as accusing Trump of ‘heaping praise’ on Hezbollah and ‘excoriating’ Israel,” Fleitz wrote. “And, of course, the letter includes the usual Democratic talking points about Trump being an impulsive leader who threatens democracy.”

Fleitz says, in reality, the letter is designed for one thing only, to counter one of Harris’ most "significant vulnerabilities,” the growing global instability presided over the Biden Administration.

“The Harris campaign hopes a letter signed by large numbers of former national security officials will distract Americans from Trump’s successful national security record and prevent them from holding her accountable for the global instability caused by the Biden/Harris administration’s atrocious foreign policy,” he wrote. “This includes the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the October 7, 2023, Hamas massacre against Israel, Iran’s surging nuclear program, significantly increased tensions and threats from China and other threats.”

The open letter followed another endorsement, this one from more than 100 former Republican national security, elected, and other federal government officials echoing similar arguments.

“We believe that the President of the United States must be a principled, serious, and steady leader who can advance and defend American security and values, strengthen our alliances, and protect our democracy. We expect to disagree with Kamala Harris on many domestic and foreign policy issues, but we believe that she possesses the essential qualities to serve as President and Donald Trump does not,” the signatories wrote. “We therefore support her election to be President.”

Fleitz said the new letter was reminiscent of the effort by an overlapping group of former national security officials to discredit reporting about the Hunter Biden laptop. They labeled the leak of the laptop hard drive as bearing the hallmarks of Russian information operation and insinuated that reporting derived from its contents could not be trusted.

“Many Americans were outraged over this letter because it represented former intelligence officers, several with high-paid government contracts, misusing their profession to meddle in a U.S. presidential election and mislead the American public,” Fleitz wrote.

Endorsement by some of the same people involved in disinformation campaign
It appears that several of the officials who signed on to the laptop letter remained undeterred about their assessment being proven inaccurate. Of the hundreds of officials who signed the new letter endorsing Harris, nine former officials were also signatories of that prior effort to discredit the Biden laptop.

They include former Director of National Intelligence Jim Clapper; former CIA Director Michael V. Hayden; former CIA Director Leon E. Panetta; former CIA Director John Brennan; former Acting CIA Director John E. McLaughlin; former CIA chief of staff Laurence M. Pfeiffer; former Department of Defense chief of staff Jeremy Bash; CIA chief of station John Sipher; and former National Intelligence Council Chair Gregory Frye Treverton.

Several of the intelligence officials who signed the letter later testified to Congress as part of an investigation into the incident. Their interviews made clear the letter drafters were motivated by primarily politics while freely admitting they had no hard evidence for the claims, Just the News previously reported.

The fact that his campaign had a hand in sparking the letter did not stop then-candidate Joe Biden from using it to deflect attacks from Trump.

“Look, there are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plan. They have said that this has all the characteristics – four, five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage,” Biden said during the final debate abasing then-President Donald Trump who had criticized him over his apparent involvement in his son’s business dealings.

The letter may have fulfilled its original purpose. Less than one month later, Biden won the presidential election.

"HELPING THE VICE PRESIDENT"
One of the organizers, former CIA Director Michael Morell said one of their reasons for writing the letter all along was to help Biden. “I think of it as two motivations. You know, one, let the American people know about what we saw as a deep suspicion of Russian involvement; and then, two, helping the Vice President,” Morell told Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan.

“You wanted to help the Vice President why?” Jordan asked.

“Because I wanted him to win the election,” Morell answered.

He subsequently admitted that he and his cosigners had no direct evidence that the laptop information was the product of a Russian information operation, as the letter described.

In a comment to Fox News, National Security Leaders for America president Rear Admiral Michael Smith, USN (Ret.) gave a defense for of the nine signatories who signed both letters.

"One well-reasoned but ultimately incorrect assessment does not undermine a lifetime's worth of public service. Their assertion that former President Trump is uncommitted to democracy and unprepared to be Commander-in-Chief is well-founded, as is their assessment of Vice President Harris as a strategic and knowledgeable leader."

Minneapolis Swears In First Non-U.S. Citizen [Somali] as Police Officer
[Breitbart] Minneapolis, Minnesota, has sworn in its first police officer who is not a U.S. citizen, according to reports.

The Minnesota Police Dept. has reported that Lesly Vera, a native of Somalia, was sworn in on Thursday as the department’s first non-citizen officer.

Vera was seen at the swearing-in ceremony wearing a hijab over her head as she took the oath of office and received her badge.

Vera moved to Minneapolis with her parents from their arrival point in Mexico when she was four. She is a legal resident alien and authorized to work, but is not a U.S. citizen.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara defended the idea of giving police powers to a non-citizen.

“There may be people who question it, but that’s completely ridiculous. There’s, like I mentioned, there is a history in this country of people immediately on arrival to the country, enlisting in the military and serving,” O’Hara told KSTP-TV. “Somebody like [Officer Vera], who has been here essentially her entire life, absolutely is entitled to protect her community in the same way that anyone else here has, and we’re honored to have her.”

The Somali migrant community in Minneapolis is the largest in the United States and the city has been a target of Somali migration since the 1990s. Somalis were drawn to the city for its generous welfare programs and the chance to live as ex-pats among their own countrymen, but the community has recently been rocked by a massive fraud case entailing tens of millions in stolen Medicaid funding connected to a fake charity called Feeding Our Future run by leading local Somali residents.

The door was opened for Vera last year when the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) adopted new rules that allowed state law enforcement agencies to elevate non-citizens to the role of police officer. The citizenship requirement was dropped and applicants now only need to be a legal resident and cleared to work in the U.S. to be handed a gun and badge.

Minnesota is not the only state working to allow non-citizens to become police officers. California, Colorado, and Illinois are also crafting legislation to give non-citizens police powers.

Minneapolis was rocked in 2017 when police officer and Somali-native Mohamed Noor shot and killed an Australian woman while responding to a 911 call. Officer Noor was eventually convicted of third-degree murder and manslaughter, though the state Supreme court later vacated the third-degree conviction. Ultimately, Noor was sentenced to 57 months for murdering the woman.

The Russian Orthodox Church has spoken out against the ban on studying Darwin's theory in schools
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Science and religion should not be pitted against each other; the acuteness of the problem in the form of teaching Darwin's theory in schools is artificially created, said Vladimir Legoida, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church-Society and Media Relations,on September 29.

"The question is: why should we pit science and religion against each other, why should we mix them? The idea of an inevitable conflict between science and religion is false; many scientific approaches can be combined with religious beliefs. The question should not be about banning the teaching of certain theories and concepts, but about the idea of the diversity of both the scientific world and the ways of knowing that are not limited to the scientific. Therefore, I regret some of the statements that were made by Orthodox people," Legoida said.

Former Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic and former Mayor of Grozny Muslim Khuchiev previously proposed to the Minister of Education of Russia Sergei Kravtsov to exclude Darwin's theory from school textbooks. According to Khuchiev, this theory is erroneous and also runs counter to religion.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on September 11, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia stated that humanity needs to be religious in order to remain happy and survive against the backdrop of rapid technological development. The head of the Russian Orthodox Church noted that the introduction of AI could lead to a colossal technological breakthrough and the creation of machines and mechanisms that cannot be imagined today. However, they can both serve for the benefit of man and pose a colossal threat to him like an atomic bomb.

Stem Cell Transplants Successfully Reverse Woman's Diabetes
[Breitbart] Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Boston has reported preliminary results from a trial involving islets derived from donated embryonic stem cells

In a groundbreaking study, a 25-year-old woman with type 1 diabetes has started producing her own insulin less than three months after receiving a transplant of reprogrammed stem cells derived from her own body.

Nature reports that in a world first, a 25-year-old woman from Tianjing, China, has achieved insulin independence after undergoing a transplant of reprogrammed stem cells, according to a study published in Cell Today. The woman, who has type 1 diabetes, started producing her own insulin less than three months after the transplant, making her the first person with the disease to be treated using cells extracted from her own body.

The study, led by cell biologist Deng Hongkui and his colleagues at Peking University in Beijing,
…done in China by Chinese scientists? Is that kind of thing contagious?
involved extracting cells from three people with type 1 diabetes and reverting them into a pluripotent state, allowing them to be molded into any cell type in the body. The researchers modified the reprogramming technique originally developed by scientist Shinya Yamanaka, using small molecules instead of proteins to trigger gene expression, offering more control over the process.

Using these chemically induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, the researchers generated 3D clusters of islets, which they tested for safety and efficacy in mice and non-human primates. In June 2023, they injected roughly 1.5 million islets into the woman’s abdominal muscles during a half-hour operation. This new transplant site allowed the researchers to monitor the cells using MRI scans and to potentially remove them if needed.

About three months after the transplant, the woman was producing enough insulin to live without needing additional injections. She has sustained this level of production for more than a year, and her blood glucose levels have remained within the target range for over 98 percent of the day. “I can eat sugar now,” the woman told Nature, adding that she enjoys eating everything.

Transplant surgeon and researcher James Shapiro from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, described the results as “stunning,” noting that the researchers have “completely reversed diabetes in the patient, who was requiring substantial amounts of insulin beforehand.”

The study follows results from a separate group in Shanghai, who reported in April that they had successfully transplanted insulin-producing islets derived from reprogrammed stem cells into the liver of a 59-year-old man with type 2 diabetes. The man has since stopped taking insulin.

While the results are promising, experts caution that they need to be replicated in more people and observed over a longer period before considering the treatment a cure. Additionally, because the woman was already receiving immunosuppressants for a previous liver transplant, the researchers could not assess whether the iPS cells reduced the risk of graft rejection.

Several groups have started trials using islet cells created from donor stem cells, which may be easier to scale up and commercialize compared to using a recipient’s own cells. Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Boston has reported preliminary results from a trial involving islets derived from donated embryonic stem cells, with participants producing insulin and some becoming insulin independent three months after transplantation.

So basically losing weight gets rid of a certain type of fat (white fat I think, there are three type of fats, brown fat, yellow fat and white fat)

This mainly only works for type 2 diabetes.

Stem cell treatment might be useful for type 1 diabetes though.

OpenAI Wants to Build Data Centers Using Electricity Equal to 1% of Entire World's Consumption
"enough to supply a major city like Miami"
That's a fair trade

[Breitbart] OpenAI’s ambitious plans to build AI data centers with unprecedented power requirements have sparked discussions about the feasibility and environmental impact of such projects.

Forbes reports that OpenAI, the leading generative AI company, has recently made a bold proposal to the U.S. government, seeking support for the construction of massive data centers that would each require a staggering five gigawatts of power. This request, made by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman during a meeting at the White House, has raised eyebrows among industry experts and government officials alike.

To put the scale of these proposed data centers into perspective, five gigawatts is equivalent to the power output of five nuclear reactors, enough to supply a major city like Miami. This power requirement is up to 100 times greater than that of a standard large data center. If OpenAI were to build seven such data centers, as reportedly suggested by Altman, their combined power consumption would be twice that of the entire state of New York, or equal to about one percent of the current entire global electricity consumption.

#2  Some slight of hand reporting here. First, the three mile island reactor is getting its upgrades so it can go back on line. I believe its microsoft that is paying for the upgrades with a deal to get all the power from the facility to run the AI servers, power akin to 800,000 homes. My question is how will they cool the servers. Nuclear power is a fairly closed system. There is a cooling pond and the water is cycled through the pond. Servers use massive amounts of water for the cooling towers. A server system large enough to use that much power will drain rivers and change the weather around the facility. This is crazy.

Government Corruption
Fed Judge Bars Lib AZ SoS Adrian Fontes' Disastrous Election Rules, Compares Them to Nukes
[REDSTATE] In an awesome win for conservatives and election integrity in November's elections, a federal judge has barred liberal Arizona Democrat Secretary of State Adrian Fontes from putting into practice new rules he inserted into the state's official procedures on the state's canvassing process of election results. And the judge did, indeed, compare it to nukes. More on that in a minute.

Howard Fischer from Capitol Media Services has the scoop on Friday's ruling:

PHOENIX — Calling what Secretary of State Adrian Fontes proposed "utterly without precedent'' and comparing it to a nuclear weapon, a federal judge blocked him from refusing to include a county's vote in the statewide totals if local supervisors fail to certify the election's results.

In the ruling late Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Michael Liburdi acknowledged there was at least one attempt in the past by a board of supervisors to delay certification. That action threatened to hold up the formal canvass of all the votes throughout the state and to change the outcomes of some races.

But Liburdi said the solution Fontes incorporated in Arizona's Elections Procedures Manual — allowing him to skip over uncertified votes simply to finalize the state results — would unfairly and illegally disenfranchise the voters who had cast their ballots.

The report continues:

Consider, Liburdi said, what would happen if supervisors balked in Maricopa County, the state's most populous, where 2.4 million people vote.

Under the rules Fontes, an elected Democrat, enacted in the manual, he would be permitted to certify the state results without including those votes — meaning the results would be determined by votes only from the other 14 counties.

Judge Liburdi wrote:

"If the right to vote is the right of qualified voters within a state to cast their ballots and have them counted, then the canvass provision imposes the most severe burden: state-sanctioned disenfranchisement.

...

"A registered voter in Arizona may perfectly comply with all voting requirements and obligations but nonetheless have her vote excluded based on the mal- or nonfeasance of public officials."

The best part, though, was when Liburdi chastised Fontes for his office's lame excuse for needing the rule; Fontes claimed "the provision was meant largely to spur county supervisors to comply with the law and likely would never be enforced." The judge wasn't having it:

"A nuclear weapon does not become any less dangerous simply because a world leader avows never to unleash it.

...

"The canvass provision imposes a nuclear-level burden on voting rights.

"It is a weapon in the secretary's arsenal that he has discretion to use should the circumstances present themselves — a weapon that does not become any less threatening simply because the secretary is self-professedly 'committed' to not pulling the trigger.''

And while the judge's ruling does not remove the rule from the procedures, it bars him from leaning on it for 2024:

Strictly speaking, Liburdi's order does not void the provision of the manual. That would take a full-blown trial. But it does preclude Fontes from enforcing or relying on that provision this year.

NEW: SCOTUS Allows Arizona Law Requiring Proof of Citizenship in Voter Registration to Take Effect

BREAKING: Ninth Circuit Delivers Decision on Citizenship and Voter Registration in Arizona

According to Ballotopedia, Judge Liburdi was appointed by former President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
in 2019.

There was a second provision that Liburdi blocked, which appears to be a progressive attempt to thwart election observers

The challengers in the lawsuit, two groups with ties to Republican interests, also convinced Liburdi to bar Fontes from enforcing another provision dealing with speech and actions permitted in and around voting locations.

That language would have prohibited "any activity by a person with the intent or effect of threatening, harassing, intimidating, or coercing voters — inside or outside the 75-foot limit at a voting location.''

Liburdi found it was too broad, and likely to burden Arizonans' First Amendment rights, writing in the decision that "there's no problem in general with barring intentional threats, intimidation or coercion," but "[t]he issue, he said, turns on the fact the wording also covers actions that have the effect of doing so, regardless of the intent of the person."

Western Journal reported all sorts of dreadful things about Mr. Fontes, including that he is a Soros protégé and had clients among the Mexican drug cartels back when he was a defense lawyer, which are sad things to read about a man who for a few years was a Marine marksmanship instructor.

Marjorie Taylor Greene predicts an election delay or more assassination attempts against Trump
[JustTheNews] Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Saturday predicted that more assassination attempts against former President Donald Trump could occur as the election gets closer.

"We have entered the most dangerous phase of the election," Greene said on the social media platform, X. "The momentum shift has happened and Trump is leading and his support is rapidly accelerating. I’m hearing it everywhere, even where I was not before. Democrats will do anything to stop him."

She said that there have already been two assassination attempts on Trump's life.

"They’ve already been trying to put him in prison and literally assassinate him," Greene wrote. "What comes next? More assassination attempts? Will they delay the election? Be prepared."

Trump has had two assassination attempts on his life. One was at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and the other in Florida while he was golfing.

As the election gets closer, both Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris have been traveling around the U.S. doing rallies.

[Wikipedia] Kristoffer Kristofferson was born in Brownsville, Texas, to Mary Ann (née Ashbrook) and Lars Henry Kristofferson, a U.S. Army Air Corps officer (later a U.S. Air Force major general).[1] Kristofferson's paternal grandfather was an officer in the Swedish Army.[2] While Kristofferson was a child, his father pushed him toward a military career.

In 1958, Kristofferson was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford,[9] studying at Merton College.[10] While at Oxford, he was awarded a Blue for boxing,[10] played rugby for his college, and began writing songs.

MILITARY SERVICE
Kristofferson, under pressure from his family, joined the U.S. Army and was commissioned as a second lieutenant, attaining the rank of captain. He became a helicopter pilot after receiving flight training at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He also completed Ranger School.[15] During the early 1960s, he was stationed in West Germany as a member of the 8th Infantry Division.[16] During this time, he resumed his music career and formed a band. In 1965, after his tour in Germany ended, Kristofferson was given an assignment to teach English literature at West Point.[17] Instead, he decided to leave the Army and pursue songwriting. His family disowned him because of his career decision; sources are unclear on whether they reconciled.[18][19][20] They saw it as a rejection of everything they stood for, although Kristofferson says he is proud of his time in the military and received the Veteran of the Year Award at the 2003 American Veterans Awards ceremony.

Tunnel to Towers 5K draws more than 40K to 'honor' America's fallen heroes: 'A beautiful thing'
[FoxNews] Uniformed officers filled the streets of New York City on Sunday, kicking off the 23rd annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk to honor, remember and celebrate the lives of fallen American military service members and first-responders.

The event, symbolizing fallen FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller's final footsteps from the Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers on 9/11, drew more than 40,000 people this year, a testament to the level of support for the cause.

"A friend of [Stephen's], Billy Codd, said to me one day, ‘Hey Frank, why don’t we have a run… Why don't we just do what Stephen did and run through the tunnel to the towers?'" Frank Siller, CEO of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and brother to Stephen Siller, told Fox News' Abby Hornacek.

The inaugural event drew about 1,000 people and has increased massively in the two decades that followed.

Stephen Siller, Jr. — whose late father rushed the path that so many now commemorate — also spoke to Hornacek about the emotional impact of seeing so many people come out to support the cause.

"It's a beautiful thing," he said. "I feel his presence in my life every day. Because of him, we're able to help so many people, and I'm so grateful for what we were able to make out of his loss."

"I think every single one of us is truly blessed."

Frank Siller said the event goes beyond honoring those who made sacrifices on 9/11 and also pays respect to the thousands of military personnel who lost their lives in the war on terror as well as the police officers, firefighters and other first-responders who die daily across the nation.

"We made a promise that we're going to take care of every single one of them and their families that are left behind, forever," he said.

Tunnel to Towers is a charitable organization that assists Gold Star families and families of fallen first-responders by providing them with mortgage-free homes.
Impressive.

Hezbollah pounds Zionist settlements, occupation sites
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Hezbollah's Islamic Resistance® pursued its precision strikes on Sunday, targeting the Israeli settlements in an unwavering effort to defend Lebanese territories and support the Gazoo

It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...

The group's military media released a series of statements detailing the attacks and their outcomes:

First Operation

The initial statement reported that in response to the barbaric Israeli aggression on Lebanese cities and villages, Hezbollah's fighters bombed the Ofek camp with a salvo of Fadi-1 missiles.

Second Operation

The second statement mentioned that the Islamic Resistance® fighters targeted Zionist soldiers in the al-Manara Israeli occupation settlement with rockets.

Third Operation

Hezbollah's third statement highlighted that the group's fighters bombed the Sa'ar Israeli settlement with a rocket salvo.

Fourth Operation

The fourth statement of the day stated that the group's fighters bombed the occupied city of Safed with a barrage of rockets.

Fifth Operation

Sixth Operation

The sixth statement stated that the Islamic Resistance® fighters bombed the Tsonbar Israeli settlement with a rocket salvo.

Seventh Operation

Hezbollah's seventh statement mentioned that after close monitoring of an Israeli force and upon its entry into the Ramia site, the group's fighters targeted it with artillery shells and achieved direct hits.

Astronomers Say 'Second Moon' Won't Approach Earth
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Imagine the hassle: "Moonlight Sonatas" or "Fly me to the Moons on Gossamer Wings", etc

[Regnum] Asteroid 2024 RT5 will change its orbit under the influence of Earth's gravity, but will not become a "second Moon," that is, a new satellite. This is the response given by scientists to media reports about an asteroid allegedly approaching the planet, which will temporarily become a new satellite of the planet, revolving around it in orbit.

“It will not be able to become any kind of ‘second Moon’,” RIA Novosti experts said unequivocally.

Asteroid 2024 PT5 was discovered in August by astronomers from the University of Madrid. According to their calculations, the asteroid is about 10-11 meters in diameter. Under the influence of Earth's gravity, it will change its orbit, but will never become a satellite of the Earth, explained Faina Rubleva, scientific director of the Moscow Planetarium.

It is noted that people will not be able to observe the approach of the asteroid, since it is too small to be seen with the naked eye.

Astronomers believe that the Earth managed to slow down the asteroid, but this happened outside the sphere of its gravitational influence, and the asteroid was eventually “pulled” by the Sun.

As reported by IA Regnum, the potentially dangerous asteroid 2024 MK passed Earth at a distance of about 300 thousand km on June 30. The asteroid is a relatively large celestial rock of the Apollo group.

On June 27, asteroid 2011 UL21 approached Earth at a distance of approximately 6.4 million km, which was the closest distance for this celestial body in more than 100 years. The asteroid was nicknamed the "planet killer" for its ability to cause large-scale damage and throw a significant amount of "debris" into the atmosphere upon impact, which could trigger global climate change. The size of the celestial body is larger than the dimensions of 99% of objects that pass close to Earth.

Scientists from the Institute for Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences have reported on invisible asteroids capable of causing an earthquake. Thus, particles of light dark matter, invisible to any telescope, are capable of forming asteroid-like objects that will cause an earthquake when passing through the Earth.

[OutlookIndia] er the death of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli strike in Beirut, Hashem Safieddine might be named as the next Secretary-General of the Lebanese militant group.

Following Hasrallah's killing, Safieddine has been serving as the head of the executive council.

Radical trans activist and film director "Lexi," formerly known as Alexander Secker, has been sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for r—ping a woman in Swindon, England in 2021.

Throughout the Swindon Crown Court hearings, the judge and lawyers referred to the r—pist as "Ms Secker" and "she." The female victim read an impact statement and called her r—pist, "Alex."

"He took away my trust in people and myself," the victim said.

Secker, 35, who identifies as a woman, is being imprisoned in a male prison and will have to register as a sex offender
Finally someone in England shows common sense. Let’s see if it survives the appeals process…
. His side argued that being imprisoned with males in the past has subjected him to assaults.

His social media, which remains online, shows he has a long history of targeting women who reject transgender ideology (the claim that sex can be self-identified).

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Two Delta Airlines agents smuggled over $3M in ketamine through JFK
[NYPOST] Two Delta Airlines ramp agents were arrested for smuggling more than $3 million worth of ketamine through John F. Kennedy International Airport, federal authorities said.

Leandro Alleyne
…whose LinkedIn page looks quite professional…
and Fabian Innis were collared after they were allegedly spotted grabbing backpacks and suitcases off a just-arrived flight Sept. 19, loading them onto a baggage transportation vehicle before ferrying the luggage to a deserted area of the tarmac, according to court papers.

Neither agent had authority to remove luggage, and Alleyne was not assigned to use the baggage vehicle at the time, authorities said.

Investigators for the US Department of Homeland Security spotted Alleyne, 38, of Brooklyn, and Innis, as they approached Flight 219, which had arrived from Copenhagen, Denmark, and later swooped in after the pair had started opening the bags, according to court documents.

They discovered each backpack contained multiple clear plastic bags containing a white crystallized substance, which field tests confirmed as ketamine. The pair were caught with 134 pounds of the drug, with a street value of $3 million, officials said.

Four of the suitcases bore luggage tags with the names of two different Flight 219 passengers, prosecutors said in Brooklyn Federal Court papers. The complaint did not specify if the passengers were part of the smuggling operation, but did say Alleyne and Innis were working with others.

Boris Rozhin on Kursk: 'Entry points'
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the of Telegram channel of zimovskyAL

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] Regarding Kursk.

The eighth week of the Kursk operation is ending.

The progress in squeezing out is moderate for us.

For Ukraine, the status quo is maintained at approximately 85% of the maximum advance achieved during the first stage of the operation.

However, this required a significant overexertion of forces from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. To date, in the Kursk operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have committed more than thirty infantry formations and units, tanks, artillery, sappers, UAVs, and rear/engineering/logistics support forces.

Accordingly, the logistical load has increased. Today, 11 entry points into the Kursk operation zone have been opened to replenish the Ukrainian Siversk group.

Six of them are located on those sections of the Russian-Ukrainian border that are completely controlled by the khokhols* (Wolfino - Politodelsky and Zhuravka - Mogritsa).

Five entry points are on the section of the state border between Politodelsky - n.p. Zhuravka are located in a no-man's land, where the enemy does not have a stable presence.

These points (11) provide all possible land options for organizing the supply/evacuation of the forces of the "Siversk" group:

- transportation of heavy equipment by lowboys and on their own;
- movement of armored fighting vehicles and medium-tonnage vehicles on asphalt and dirt highways;
- movement of light trucks/semi-trucks/horse-drawn vehicles on field, forest, and country roads;
- movement of foot reinforcements and delivery of goods "on the back" on field, forest, and country roads.

In such conditions, the organization of our full-fledged cauldron cannot yet be realized, and such a task has not been set for our troops.

Instead of chasing the foot caravans and individual motorized supply vehicles of the khokhly, the Russian command made the best decision for today - to hit the reserves and reinforcements of the Chubatants at the moment of their gathering in places of organization and assembly of the khokhlyat mobile logistic groups.

Such tactics justify themselves. And if the expulsion drags on until winter, the khokhly will also experience severe difficulties with camouflage in conditions of exposed foliage and heavy black earth autumn slush. When only roads with hard surfaces will remain open for movement.
Diagram can be seen at the link, and yes, it is all in Russian.
*Diagram from the Cartographic Studio "Colored Pencils "Tactics".
Legend:
- solid yellow line - full Ukrainian control of sections of the state border;
- blue "pins" - entry points into the Kursk operation zone from Ukraine along all types of roads.

The Russian Armed Forces, after a successful offensive on September 10-19 and repelling the main wave of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Veseloye, are now conducting combat operations in a positional manner, preparing for the upcoming active actions.Of course, no one will rush "to the date" at any cost.

More from Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
On the defense of Vesyoloye

On Veselmo (Kursk region).

1. The enemy has not abandoned hopes of breaking through our defenses and striking the flank of the group, which is actively operating against the western part of the Kursk salient. In the interests of active operations, reserves continue to be pulled up to the border from various directions, including to the detriment of the reliability of various sections of the front.

2. The main plan at the moment is to try to capture or bypass Vesyoloye and advance to Glushkovo in order to cut off one of the roads in the rear of the group operating in the area of Snagost, Obukhovka and Lyubimovka +, if possible, capture Glushkovo.

3. At the moment, the enemy is not succeeding, due to the skillfully organized defense in the area of Vesyoloye and Obukhovka, as a result of which the enemy suffers serious losses in men and armored vehicles. One can note attempts to shift the focus of the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from attempts to take Vesyoloye to attempts to bypass it from the east, but these attempts are currently being stopped. In fact, the transfer of reserves here is connected, among other things, with attempts to maintain the pace of the offensive in the hope that our defense will falter there.

4. For our part, it is now important to prevent deep breakthroughs of the enemy's mechanized groups deep into the Glushkovsky district, to tie up the enemy's reserves with battles and to continue to realize the existing advantage in forces in the Donbass.

Ukrainian Brigade commander who defended Ugledar removed
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] The enemy reports that the commander of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Brigade Commander Vinnik, who was previously removed from his post, was dismissed from the army. He was accused of the failure of the defense of Ugledar due to the collapse of the flanks of the group defending the city.

Vinnik is effectively being made the scapegoat for Zelensky and Syrsky's decisions to transfer reserves to the Kursk and Krasnoarmeysk directions, including from the Ugledar direction, which weakened the Ukrainian Armed Forces group and created the preconditions for a successful offensive by the Russian Armed Forces. Vinnik may have been guilty of specific tactical miscalculations, but of course the culprits of the operational crisis in this area are not in Ugledar, but in Kiev.

They will try to make Vinnik the scapegoat for the upcoming surrender of Ugledar. Despite the fact that organized resistance in the city remains, attempts have already been made by small groups to leave through the plantings in the direction of Bogoyavlenka.

Since there is no cauldron yet (despite the hasty statements of some sources on this matter), the bottleneck to the north of Ugledar remains and even equipment can pass through there. Yes, strikes are being carried out on the bottleneck, but it is too early to talk about a complete cessation of communication between the Ugledar garrison and the rest of the enemy group. The enemy obviously intends to prolong the resistance as much as possible, but has already resigned itself to the fact that Ugledar will be lost in the near future.

Online broadcast of military operations in Ukraine as usual here https://t.me/boris_rozhin (if anyone is interested, subscribe)

Identity of officer eaten by Franklin expedition members established
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Scientists have established the identity of the sailor eaten by members of the lost Franklin expedition, which set off from Greenhithe, England, in 1845. The remains belong to officer James Fitzjames, writes the Daily Mail.

Royal Navy officer John Franklin set out on his fourth expedition on the steam-powered sailing ships Terror and Erebus to find the Northwest Passage, a navigable sea route between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans through the Arctic.

The expedition perished - both ships were stuck in the Canadian Arctic ice. Of the 105 sailors who abandoned their ships two years later and tried to walk to a trading post on the mainland, none survived. The details of this tragedy are still being established.

In 2013, a burial site containing the remains of at least 13 members of the expedition was found on King William Island. The bones contained cut marks indicating that the remaining members had eaten the flesh of the deceased. In particular, such marks were found on a jawbone with the remains of teeth, from which DNA samples were taken.

It has now been established that it belonged to Officer James Fitzjames, who replaced Captain Franklin on the Erebus, who died in June 1847 during his third winter in the ice.

According to study participant Dr Douglas Stanton from the University of Waterloo, in the last desperate days of the expedition, people were guided by neither rank nor status in their efforts to save themselves.

"It demonstrates the level of desperation Franklin's sailors must have felt in committing what they would have considered disgusting," added Dr Robert Park of the University of Waterloo, speaking about cannibalism.

The Inuit, the indigenous people of the Canadian Arctic, reported cannibalism among sailors as early as the 1850s, when the British learned of the expedition's fate. Scientists only proved the facts of cannibalism in 1997. Divers found the wrecks of the sunken ships even later: the Erebus in 2014, and the Terror in 2016.

In 2021, the first remains belonging to an expedition member were identified. DNA samples taken from a descendant helped confirm the identity of Erebus engineer John Gregory, who died in 1848 on King William Island, 45 miles south of his ship.

The full text of Biden’s statement is as follows:

Hassan Nasrallah and the terrorist group he led, Hezbollah, were responsible for killing hundreds of Americans over a four-decade reign of terror. His death from an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians.

The strike that killed Nasrallah took place in the broader context of the conflict that began with Hamas

Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
s, and any other Iranian-supported terrorist groups. Just yesterday, I directed my Secretary of Defense to further enhance the defense posture of U.S. military forces in the Middle East region to deter aggression and reduce the risk of a broader regional war.

Ultimately, our aim is to de-escalate the ongoing conflicts in both Gaza and Lebanon through diplomatic means. In Gaza, we have been pursuing a deal backed by the UN Security Council for a ceasefire and the release of hostages. In Lebanon, we have been negotiating a deal that would return people safely to their homes in Israel and southern Lebanon. It is time for these deals to close, for the threats to Israel to be removed, and for the broader Middle East region to gain greater stability.

The Times of Israel reported that the Biden administration was angry about the airstrike because Israel did not inform it until the operation was in progress, and appeared to have strung the White House along about a ceasefire.

Kirby: All-out war with Hezbollah won’t bring safety to Israel’s northern residents

[IsraelTimes] Israel will not be able to safely get people back into their homes in the north of the country by waging an all-out war with Hezbollah or Iran, White House national security spokesman John Kirby says.

Kirby also tells CNN that the United States is continuing to talk to Israel about what the right next steps in Lebanon are.

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported the retrieval of six deaders as a result of the Israeli strike on a house in the town of al-Ain in northern Bekaa, with rescue operations still ongoing to recover the other five deaders.

Media sources indicated that the occupation aircraft carried out a strike on the Shweifat area in the southern suburbs of Beirut, while NNA mentioned that ''the hostile aircraft targeted the area between the towns of Deir Ammar and al-Bayyad'' in the western sector.

The agency added that Israeli planes struck the Tahwitah al-Ghadir area, targeting a building, which resulted in significant material damage and the burning of a car near the targeted location.

The occupation aircraft launched an attack shortly after midnight, targeting a house in the town of Jabshait, resulting in injuries. Israeli warplanes also struck the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon.

The city of Baalbek and surrounding villages were targeted in a series of intense airstrikes starting from five in the morning, affecting factories, warehouses, shops, farms, and populated areas.

In Baalbek, the bombings began at 5:15 a.m., with the last strike occurring on the al-Kayal road shortly after 7 a.m. The hostile aircraft targeted the following towns: Shaat, Sarain, Ain al-Souda, Naania, Younin, Tarya, and Bouday, in addition to many villages in northern Bekaa.

Israeli drones did not leave the skies of the area during the previous night.

Israeli fighter jets also bombed the towns of Markaba, Deir Siryan, al-Sawana, and Bani Hayyan in the Marjeyoun district.

The Israeli army said that its aircraft carried out strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Earlier, the Lebanese Ministry of Health issued a statement indicating that the Israeli aggression on Lebanese areas since dawn yesterday, Saturday, resulted in the martyrdom of 33 people and injuries to 195 others.

Lebanese Health Minister Firas al-Abyad reported that 1,640 people have been killed including 104 children and 194 women and 8,408 injured since the onset of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah nearly a year ago.

One of the main targets once again was the Motor Sich enterprise, one of the largest in Ukraine for the production of aircraft engines and components for unmanned aerial vehicles. These capacities are actively used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which makes the plant a strategic target for Russian troops.

According to preliminary information, at least five aerial bombs hit the territory of this facility. As a result, several fires were recorded at the site, which were accompanied by sounds of secondary detonation.

Another important blow was the defeat of the Zaporizhzhya ship repair plant, where unmanned boats were produced. This enterprise is of key importance for ensuring the enemy's naval operations.

One of the priority targets for the strike was the IRIS-T air defense system position located between the Zaporizhzhya airport and the village of Gasanovka. Strikes on this area resulted in the destruction of the launcher and radar station of the complex, which significantly weakened the air defense in the area.

In addition, the AN/TPQ-48 radar warfare system position was attacked, located in the area of the former military communications unit in the east of the city, in the direction of the Orekhovskaya highway. The extent of damage to this complex is currently unknown, but this target also represents a significant element in the enemy's surveillance system.

Two aerial bombs were aimed at the Zaporizhzhya-1 railway station, which plays a key role in the enemy's logistics. At the time of the attack, a military train was being unloaded at the station, intended for dispatch to the Orekhovskoye direction, where military action has recently intensified.

Citing filed sources, Lebanon's al-Mayadeen television news channel reported on Sunday that a barrage of rockets and drones targeted the American-run base at the Conoco gas field and achieved direct hits.

opens the door to an open and comprehensive war, which will be nothing but disaster for the temporary entity and war criminals.''

The political bureau explained in a statement that targeting the southern suburb, which is crowded with civilians, ''is unprecedented brutality and is neither new nor surprising from the Zionist gang.''

''The Zionist entity's persistence in committing bloody crimes and escalation after escalation is taking place amidst great failure and conspiracy against the jihad and resistance movements,'' the statement added.

The statement pointed out that the Israeli enemy would not have been able to continue in this manner without the unlimited Western and American support.

''The weapons used in the recent raids confirm once again that the United States of America is a full partner in the killing of civilians,'' the statement said. ''The aggression on Paleostine and Lebanon is an obvious American war.''

The Political Bureau of Ansarallah renewed its solidarity with the Islamic Resistance® in Lebanon, expressing its confidence in Hezbollah and its political and military leadership.

The statement urged the Arab and Islamic peoples and the free people of the world to show more solidarity to stop the war and aggression against Lebanon and Paleostine.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel Stops Taking Counsel from the Angel of Death
[Clarice @ AT] The message in Lee Smith’s brilliant article in Tablet Magazine this week is that the U.S. must stop losing wars. We create and fund and staff our military to protect us and it’s time to do that:

Only a fool could be blind to the fact that the Pentagon way of war, three decades into the 21st century and a world away from the United States’ last conclusive victory, means death for all who pursue it.

If Washington and the Europeans are appalled by Israel’s campaign over the last two weeks, it’s because the Israelis have resurfaced the ugly truth that no modish theories of war, international organizations, or even American presidents could long obscure. Wars are won by killing the enemy, above all, those who inspire their people to kill yours. Killing Nasrallah not only anchors Israel’s victory in Lebanon but reestablishes the old paradigm for any Western leaders who take seriously their duty to protect their countrymen and civilization: Kill your enemies.

Before I discuss any more about this, I’d like to briefly summarize this week’s astonishing news, news which puts paid to the idiotic Obama, Biden/Harris notion that appeasing and paying off the master of Middle East terrorism, Iran, and forcing Israel to ever more concessions with Iran’s proxies, is the pathway to peace. Indeed, the consequence of Israel’s continued audacious dismantling of Hamas and Hezb’allah -- the very opposite of what the angels of death -- the U.S. and Western European diplomatic establishment -- advance is the only way to bring peace and prosperity to that long-embattled part of the world.

On Friday, Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations. Countless delegates walked out before he spoke and the U.S. Ambassador to the UN did not attend, signaling once again the administration turning its back on our ally.

There is only one majority Moslem country in Europe, Albania. Its prime minister Edi Rama showed more solidarity with Israel than did the U.S. He pointedly wore a yellow ribbon in his lapel, the symbol of those wanting the hostages in Gaza returned. (Albania, by the way, was one of the very few places where Jews fleeing the Nazi death squads found safe shelter.)

Little did the performative actors who walked out -- or in our case, never showed up -- know, but in a sense Netanyahu’s appearance was a feint to let Nasrallah feel safe enough to come out of hiding. Before Netanyahu left for New York, his cabinet authorized a strike against Nasrallah as soon as there was "operational feasibility." Shortly before his speech he was advised that opportunity had arisen and he approved the strike, which was carried out minutes after the speech ended. At least one observer (Elliot Steinmetz) likened this to the baptism scene in The Godfather. Certainly, it is the stuff of movies, if Hollywood ever gets off animations and Star Wars rip-offs.

#2  "the idiotic Obama, Biden/Harris notion that appeasing and paying off the master of Middle East terrorism"

The George W. Bush administration should be mentioned as well.

Appeasement of the Taliban started as early as October of 2001.

After the Taliban had not complied with Bush's demands and were officially scheduled to share in the terrorists' fate, the US offered them political power in Afghanistan.

Which is certainly one of the reasons liberated Afghanistan became a hostile and evil (albeit merely passively aggressive) entity.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Reports: Israel Sends Small Commando Missions into Lebanon
[BREITBART] Israel Defense Forces (IDF) commandos have begun carrying out small incursions into southern Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
to destroy Hezbollah positions, ahead of a possible ground invasion, taking advantage of disarray in the terrorist organization.

ABC News reported Saturday night:

Small-scale operations or ''border movements'' into Lebanon to take out Hezbollah positions right on the border have begun or are about to, according to two U.S. officials.

Israel does not yet appear to have fully decided whether to launch a ground operation but is prepared for one, the officials said. If a ground operation happens, its scope will likely be limited, sources said. The key is fulfilling the promise to Israelis that the tens of thousands displaced from northern Israel will be able to go home. To do that, decapitating Hezbollah is not enough, the officials said.

The New York Times

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

reported that Israel has been infiltrating Lebanon for a long time for intelligence operations:

Israel has used Lebanon's proximity to its advantage — Jerusalem is less than 150 miles from the Lebanese border — to insert undercover commandos deep into the country to conduct sensitive intelligence missions.

Most important, former U.S. and Israeli officials say that Israel's audacity to carry out such operations set it apart from traditional intelligence agencies with less of an appetite for risk and legal hurdles.

Hezbollah and other Iranian terrorist proxies have struggled to respond to Israel's attacks over the last two weeks, beginning with the pager attacks widely attributed to Israel, and culminating in the killing of Hezbollah chief His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...>
on Friday night.

Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
rebels fired a third ballistic missile at Israel on Saturday, which was downed. Other rockets and missiles were fired from Lebanon, and were either intercepted or landed without causing damage.

Shiite militias in Iraq, which are also controlled by Iran, fired a drone toward the southern Israeli port city of Eilat.

Israel's objective in a ground mission would be to push Hezbollah out of southern Lebanon, north of the Litani River, in accordance with United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...

#5  Within days, the number of alleged hate attacks ballooned through uncorroborated and vague online rumors. These stories were then amplified by progressive media, nonprofit groups, businesses and politicians. Activists, driven by their own personal grievances, then launched a crusade to find the phantom suspects, doxing and targeting innocent people in the process.

On Feb. 17, Jenny Bruso, a self-described fat-queer activist, posted a claim on Facebook and Twitter that echoed Stanford’s harrowing story. She said that her partner, Brie Jones, was attacked by “two young white men” in a maroon SUV who pulled up beside her at a busy intersection, called her a homophobic slur and threw a full can of beer at her face. She was allegedly knocked to the ground from the impact. Bruso posted a photo of Jones with an abrasion on her cheek.

Massive plumes of smoke fill Georgia sky after a chemical plant fire
We discussed this yesterday in response to NN2N1’s report on the ground.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]… footage from burning biolab in Conyers, Georgia shows huge plume of smoke as inferno sparks massive evacuations.

Thousands of people are under a shelter-in-place order after a major fire broke out at a chemical lab in Georgia.

Massive clouds of smoke are saturating the sky in Conyers, Georgia, after a fire ignited at BioLab on Old Covington Highway on Sunday, the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office said.

Around 5am EST, a sprinkler at the facility malfunctioned and sprayed water on a chemical that sparked an explosion, Atlanta News First reported. As of 4:15pm, the fire was still ongoing.

BioLab manufactures pool and spa treatment products - including chlorine, according to CNN.

The reaction led to a large, hazardous smoke cloud that began drifting to the northeast and prompted an evacuation.

The unfolding chaos has put added pressure on Georgia's emergency services as Hurricane Helene swept through the state.

The malfunction caused a small fire that was contained to the roof of the building before reigniting a few hours later, WSBTV reported.

Authorities are in the process of removing pallets that contained the water-reactive chemical from the building - but it's still unclear what the chemical was that led to the massive blaze.

There is an evacuation order in effect for anyone between Sigman Road and I-20, county officials said.

Officials stated that anyone in this radius needs to leave the area immediately.

'I want to strongly ask all of you to please spread the word to stay away from this area at this point,' Rockdale County Sheriff, Eric Levett, said.

Roads are closed in the area of the blaze with officials blocking off Interstate 20 in both directions between Salem Road and Turner Hill.

A shelter-in-place order has been put in effect for residents in the north half of the county by the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency.

Residents in the area are encouraged to 'remain indoors and keep windows closed to minimize exposure to any potential hazards,' the sheriff's office said.

Rockdale County Fire Chief, Marian McDaniel, said: 'Any event, the wind shift, this thing can change really quickly. But once again, shelter in place, windows and doors closed.'

The sheriff's office also set up several evacuation sites, including: JP Carr Gym at 90 Hardin St SW, Scout Camp at 218 Scout Road in Covington and Wolverine Gym at 8134 Geiger Street in Covington.

Once the chemical is successfully contained and removed from the building, the situation will be further evaluated and residents will be able to get a clearer answer of when it'll be safe to return to their homes.

Brad Nitz, a meteorologist for WSBTV, took to X to report that the fire in Rockdale County is being detected on Smoketracker and the southwest wind is blowing the smoke across to Walton County.

Walton County Emergency Management director, Carl Morrow, shared an alert for the county residents, Monroe Local reported.

The alert stated: 'Walton County EMA is aware of what is happening in our neighboring county of Rockdale. We are monitoring the situation and advise that if you smell a chlorine odor you should turn off your air conditioners, turn on your ceiling fans and if possible bring your outside animals indoors.'

The situation appeared to only worsen after initially being contained this morning and Walton County Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Craig League said they have now been asked to assist in the matter, Monroe Local reported.

But thankfully, no employees have been reported as injured.

A representative from BioLab released a statement which said: 'Our employees are accounted for with no injuries reported. Our team is on the scene, working with first responders and local authorities to assess and contain the situation.'

'As always, the safety of our community remains our top priority.'

Due to the strong chlorine odor that is being reported, Director Carl Morrow of the Walton County Emergency Management Agency updated residents in close proximity to the chemical fire to call 911 if they have any difficulty breathing.

This is the second fire within the past decade at the facility. The lab experienced a 'thermal decomposition event' that led to a fire in September of 2020.

The building's warehouse was damaged after strong winds from Hurricane Laura allowed rainwater into the building, which is what started the previous fire, the US Chemical Safety Board found.

PFLP in the IDF spotlight: Explosion in Kola district of Beirut, apartment building struck
See also here.
[JPost] Step up, #...errr 27!
Three PFLP leaders killed in strike in Kola district of Beirut. Hezbollah claimed Israel had carried out the strikes in Kola on their Telegram channel.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said in a statement in the early hours of Monday that three of its leaders were killed in an alleged Israeli strike that targeted Beirut's Kola district, Reuters and Sky News Arabic reported.

The strike hit an upper floor of an apartment building in the Kola district, making it the first Israeli strike within Beirut’s city limits in the escalating hostilities, Reuters added.

According to Sky News Arabic, the members killed in the strike were named as Muhammad Abdel Aal, the head of the military security department of the PFLP, Imad Awda, the PFLP's military commander in Lebanon, and Abdul Rahman Abdel Aal.

Lebanon's National Broadcasting Network claimed that the strike was carried out by an Israeli UAV.

DETAILS OF THE STRIKE
KAN posted video footage of the aftermath of an explosion, with people crowding around the rubble. Sirens can be heard in the background. Al-Mayadeen reported that an unexploded missile was still in the targeted apartment in Beirut.

Local Lebanese media sites and Al Jazeera referred to it as a targeted Israeli strike. Israel has not yet confirmed any details of the strike.

Additionally Sunday night, the IDF announced they were carrying out strikes on Hezbollah terror targets in the Beqaa region of southern Lebanon.
The Times of Israel adds:
While dwarfed by Hezbollah in Lebanon, PFLP has been taking part in the fighting against Israel alongside the larger Iran-backed terror group. The airstrike also wounded 16 people, said an official with Lebanese Civil Defense, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Syrians living in southern Lebanon who had fled Israeli bombardment had been sleeping under a bridge in the Kola neighborhood for days, residents of the area said.

#1  For every left-wing media article that I read about arabs mourning Nasrallah, I read an arab article about Arabs, Druze, Christians celebrating his death.
Celebrating by and passing out sweets. These sweets were no joke, were are not talking about $.05 7-11 candies, these were baklava and other upscale pastries. Looked tasty, I wanted some.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
[TX] veterans' bodies are carved up and sold for parts without families' permission
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Modern-day grave robbers in Texas have seized unclaimed bodies belonging to veterans and sold their limbs for profit without the consent or knowledge from their grieving family members.

Victor Carl Honey, 58, a dedicated Army veteran, who struggled with mental illness, died in September 2022 of heart failure.

Honey was among the 2,350 people whose remains were sent to the body donation program at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort-Worth.

The majority of unclaimed bodies were black males, who were mentally ill and homeless and whose family members were difficult to reach or were unable or did not want to pay for cremation or burial, the report found.
However, a month after his death, the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Officer deemed Honey's body 'unclaimed' after they said phones for relatives were disconnected even though his ex-wife and two adult children were living in the state.

Honey's body was kept in a freezer before it was cut up and shipped piecemeal across the country.

His torso was sold to a medical education company for $900; his right leg shipped to a Swedish medical device manufacturer for $341; the bones from his skull were sent to the U.S. Army for $210 for military training purposes.

During NBC News' bombshell investigation, it was also revealed that Honey's corpse was not the only one sold to science in the Dallas-Fort-Worth region; hundreds of other corpses were collected from nursing homes, hospital beds and homeless encampments - and sold on the open market.

Honey's body parts were also sent to medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies including Johnson & Johnson, Boston Scientific and Medtronic - used for scientific research and the testing of new products.

According to the report, once the medical groups and others were finished using the unclaimed bodies' remains, they were cremated, buried or scattered at sea - despite some families still looking for their loved ones.

For the last five years, the body donation program at the Health Science Center was thriving under the agreement the school had with Dallas and Tarrant counties taking the unclaimed bodies for free.

Of the 2,350 bodies that were collected, 830 were selected by the center for dissection and to be studied. The center charged $1,400 for whole bodies. Heads went for $649, torsos for $900.

According to financial records obtained by NBC News, the agreement appeared to be a was a win-win for all parties involved.

Nationwide, tens of thousands of bodies go unclaimed and local medical examiners and coroners have to bear the costs of cremation or burial - under the agreement the Dallas and Tarrant counties were able to save a combined million a year, financial records revealed.

The Health Science Center also benefitted by making $2.5 million a year by leasing body parts to medical groups. At one point, the Health Science Center publicized the bodies 'as being the highest quality found anywhere in the U.S.'

The majority of unclaimed bodies were black males, who were mentally ill and homeless and whose family members were difficult to reach or were unable or did not want to pay for cremation or burial, the report found.

NBC News' report, compiled over 10 months, also cited repeated failures to reach family members before declaring their bodies unclaimed.

According to the news outlet, they identified 12 cases where family learned months or years later that their loved one's body was provided to the medical school - leaving many traumatized.

Five of those families found out what happened to their loved one by NBC including, Kimberly Patman, the ex-wife of Honey, who share two adult children, a son Victor Honey, Jr. and a daughter named Victoria.

Patman and Honey were married for ten years. They had met when both were in the military Texas Fort Hood. He was training as a medic and she was an Air Force enlistee.

The couple separated due to Honey's infidelity. He was later diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia but refused to take his medication and ended up spending time in federal prison for stealing a car and robbing three banks in three different states.

When he was released he had another run in with the law and later became homeless living on the streets of Dallas.

His family told NBC News that they had visited him in the hospital when they learned from his caseworker that his kidney's were failing. Once he improved, he refused to go to a nursing home and checked himself out of the hospital.

On September 19, 2022, he was found semi-conscious in a wheelchair at a downtown Dallas train station and taken to Baylor University Medical Center. He died the next day.

Once the hospital social worker was unable to find his family, his body was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Officer, but they were unable to locate next of kin.

The case was turned over to the county investigator tried to get information from police and area hospitals but unable to locate relatives. After searching the internet, she found numbers for Patman, Honey's brother in Ohio, his stepmother and his late father, but she reported they were disconnected.

On October 17, 2022, the investigator wrote that her search was complete and no family was found. The medical examiner's office deemed Honey's body unclaimed.

That same day, Honey was delivered to the University of North Texas Health Science Center, where he was placed in a freezer, awaiting assignment.

'I don't believe they tried to find us,' said Patman distressed by the events that occurred. 'That is crazy. We are here. We have always been here. His son has his same name. How can he be unclaimed?'

'They did it for money,' she sad. 'They did it to him a decorated military veteran - they'll do it to anybody.'

Brenda Cloud, one of Honey's sisters said 'we feel violated.' 'It's like a hole in your soul that can never be filled,' she said.

Daily Mail made several attempts to contact Kimberly Patman, their son Victor Honey, Jr., and Brenda Cloud.

The University of North Texas Health Science Center defended their practices until last Friday when they issued a statement that they were suspending its body donation program and and firing the officials who led it.

The HSC center did not respond to the DailyMail.com's request for comment, however on September 13, they issued an apology to the families affected.

'We have become aware of issues within our Willed Body Program, and that failures existed in its management and oversight. The program has fallen short of the standards of respect, care, and professionalism that we demand,' they wrote in part.

'The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth extends its deepest apologies to the families who have been impacted.

Border Patrol Union slams Harris after border visit, says she was nowhere to be found when needed
[JustTheNews] The union representing U.S. Border Patrol agents slammed Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming she was nowhere to be found when needed, after she visited the southern border in Arizona on Friday.

"Fact check on Harris speech in Douglas, Arizona: Today, VP Harris claimed that she played a role in increasing Border Patrol Agent overtime pay," the National Border Patrol Council wrote on the social media platform, X.

"This couldn't be further from the truth. As with all things border related she was no where to be found when we needed her," the post continued.

During her visit on Friday, Harris criticized former President Donald Trump for the crisis at the border, claiming he tanked a bipartisan border bill.

"It was the strongest border security bill we have seen in decades. It was endorsed by the Border Patrol union, and it should be in effect today, producing results in real time right now for our country," she said during her speech. "But Donald Trump tanked it... because, you see, he prefers to run on a problem instead of fixing a problem."

Trump and other Republicans have criticized the bill, which came up earlier this year, arguing it allowed up to 5,000 border encounters a day before temporarily shutting down the border if it lasted more than a week. But the bill was also criticized as a way to legalize and facilitate the massive influx of illegal aliens entering the U.S., which the House Homeland Security Committee estimates has exceeded 10 million people during the Biden administration.

Republicans have been critical of Harris's role as the "border czar" for the past few years, blaming her in large part for the current surge in illegal border crossings.

Harris's timing for her trip to the border couldn't have been worse. On that same day, Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Tx., released a letter from the Deputy Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acknowledging that there are currently 13,099 non-detained non-citizens with murder convictions in the country, and 15,811 with sexual offense convictions out of a total of 425,431 convicted criminals.
