A total of 55 Knesset members recommended to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin that Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu be the one tasked with forming the next government, making it likely that Rivlin will acquiesce to their demand.
Previously, Blue and White candidate MK Benny Gantz had 57 MKs recommending him for premier. However, Rivlin accepted the request by the Joint Arab List's Balad faction to withdraw their recommendation, leaving Gantz with a maximum of just 44 recommendations.

why can't you study the Torah and join the military ?
One can, of course, but the whole point here is that the state support them while they study and do nothing else. In those communities otherwise the parents, the wife’s parents, or the wife working while also attending to the household and rearing copious children (the end point of need-no-man feminism) support the gentleman graciously devoting his life to study so they don’t have to. Naturally, they would prefer other people to provide the funding. And of course, they don’t see why they should step up to defend a country they don’t believe in.

[AmGreatness] Sometime-Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden was at it again, voicing his brand of tough-guy boasts that he can "beat Trump like a drum."
A 1980s sci-fi cult film about a weirdo, Buckaroo Banzai, who travels through time dimensions in many manifestations battling evil and saving good guys reminds us of the latest incarnation of Joe Biden.
Biden sees himself as something similar, as Americans are reacquainting themselves with the three-time presidential candidate, who for years has been regaling audiences as the swashbuckling hero of an amazing repertoire of his own larger than life stories.
Sometimes the bard Buckaroo Biden entertains crowds as the self-sacrificing tribal white knight who physically stood down punks who threatened his family.
Sometimes Biden becomes Captain America Biden who stands up to his country’s enemy bullies abroad who would corrupt the international order.

China already lost in the trade war with the U.S. Although you will never hear Chinese authorities, especially President Xi Jinping, admit it as such, the evidence is everywhere and only becoming more compelling by the day.
Reuters recently reported that based on the Chinese government's own data, China's economic slowdown has worsened in August, with "growth in industrial production is at its weakest in 17-1/2 years amid spreading pain from a trade war with the United States and softening domestic demand. Retail sales and investment gauges worsened too." Despite such poor readings, Premier Li Keqiang insists that China is still on track to achieve 6 to 6.5 per cent growth rate this year.
Given the Chinese government's tendency to present a rosier economic picture to satisfy political goals, most China watchers believe that Li's statement was an about-face, and that the actual economic situation is much worse.

[IsraelTimes] Sources name man in Greek custody as Mohammed Ali Saleh, say his name is nearly identical to that of alleged Hezbollah member.
The arrest in Greece of a Lebanese man accused of involvement in a 1985 plane hijacking by Hezbollah is a case of mistaken identity, Lebanese officials said on Monday.
Greek authorities detained the 65-year-old man last week on the island of Mykonos.
They said there was a Europe ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... an arrest warrant issued by Germany against him for his suspected involvement in the hijacking of TWA Flight 847 and the murder of an American passenger.
A Lebanese diplomatic official and a security official, neither of whom wanted to be named, identified the man in Greek custody as Mohammed Ali Saleh.
Saleh has a nearly identical name to the suspected Lebanese hijacker, but his father’s name does not match that of the suspect, the diplomatic source said.
Both sources told AFP the arrest was a case of "mistaken identity."
Lebanese authorities have already reached out to Athens to clarify the situation, the diplomatic official said.
Germany is expected to announce a decision regarding Saleh’s release later on Monday, the same source said.
Greek police on Monday told AFP that they have asked Germany to confirm the identity of the arrested man.
The TWA 847 Flight was commandeered by hijackers shortly after taking off from Athens on June 14, 1985, demanding the release of 700 Shiite Moslems from Israeli custody. The flight originated in Cairo and had San Diego set as a final destination, with stops scheduled in Athens, Rome, Boston and Los Angeles.
The hijackers shot and killed US Navy diver Robert Stethem, 23, after beating him unconscious. They released the other 146 passengers and crew members on the plane in stages during an ordeal that included making three stops in Beirut and two in Algiers. The last hostage was freed after 17 days.
Though Greek police refused to release the suspect’s name, Greek media outlets named him as Mohammed Ali Hammadi, who was arrested in Frankfurt in 1987 and convicted in Germany for the plane hijacking and Stethem’s slaying. Hammadi, an alleged Hezbollah member, received life in prison as a sentence but was paroled in 2005 and returned to Leb.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Rudy Giuliani claimed Monday that he's learned that a Ukrainian laundered $3 million through Joe Biden's son, and the Obama administration had a prosecutor fired to cover the scandal up.
The personal attorney to President Trump claimed in tweets and in a television appearance that he has 'evidence' to support the allegation, although he did not share it on either medium.
Giuliani demanded Democrats launch an investigation into the charges he's levying against the former vice president and leading presidential candidate and said its Biden who should have to prove he's innocent of criminal conduct.
'Biden says he never talked to his son about his overseas business. Do you think we can prove, with our fact a day disclosures, it’s a lie-a false exculpatory statement. Do we have to prove, or do you already know, it’s a lie, and an incriminating statement,' the attorney asked.
[NY Post] China's top technology hub Hangzhou plans to assign government officials to work with 100 private companies including e-commerce giant Alibaba, according to state media reports, in a move likely to raise concerns over the growing role of the state. Political Commissars to enforce Party over profits, what could go wrong?
The step underscores how Chinese government and party authorities are growing more deeply integrated into the private sector, as its economy sputters amid an intensifying trade war with the United States.
The city of Hangzhou, home to Alibaba, will designate government officials to work with 100 local companies in the eastern province of Zhejiang, the local government said on its website.
The directives, presented as a means to boost the local manufacturing industry, did not name the 100 companies subject to the policy, but state media reports said Alibaba and auto maker Zhejiang Geely would be among the companies.

Loyalty officers in HR, nothing new.
Happens here all the time.
[MAIL] It seems audiences long for the kinder, gentler days of Edwardian England, pushing Downton Abbey to the top of the box office with $31 million.
The film version of the beloved costume drama series about the Earl of Grantham and the Crawley family, backed by PBS stateside and ITV in the UK, took in more than the $30 million it was projected to earn at the start of the weekend.
Starring its original cast, including Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith and Hugh Bonneville, it also pulled in $30.8 million overseas for a global haul of $61.8 million.
That was more than enough to beat out the more muscular offerings from Brad Pitt's space set sci-fi drama Ad Astra and Sylvester Stallone's actioner Rambo: Last Blood.
They are presently neck and neck with Ad Astra at $19.2 million and Rambo at just a shade over $19 million, although that might change when the full weekend results are tallied, according to Box Office Mojo.

I think it's great that Trump is doing some outreach here. Dubya reached out to Hispanics and got 40%. Indians vote Democrat 90% of the time, so there's plenty of room for improvement.

It's true some Indians did vote democrat until now. It's also true they humour everybody who'll wear their attire and eat their curry with them, say the right words and all. But at heart, they're alway fiercely loyal to the motherland.
From those 50,000+ people at Houston, those eligible will vote for whoever their Modi tells them to vote for. Such is the cult of Modi. They won't care if the dems and media tells them they'll lose their jobs, their relatives won't be able to come and so on...
For supporters of Modi, just the gesture of Trump visiting and the projected camaraderie was enough. These are people ruled by sentiment. I don't care what they tell the pollsters and their neighbours to survive there, their vote is Trump's now. The Indian PM's exhortation at the end saying 'abki baar Trump sarkaar' (A Trump Govt this time) was actual a play on his own election campaign tagline from 2014. A clear message that has been accepted by the diaspora.
The only Indians you'll still find voting left will be bengalis and south Indians, all commie lovers and conformist sheep. Or muslims.

[Right Scoop] Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has always been at war with Nancy Pelosi. They’ve had temporary cessation of hostilities from time to time, but the war has never been over. And the latest lull in hostilities is clearly over, as AOC and the wing of the party she leads ‐ and make no mistake, she leads it ‐ have had enough of the "moderate" (lol) wing overseen by the iron fist of Pelosi and the weirdly-named Steny Hoyer.
AOC opened fire on Twitter last night. The freshman Dem said the bigger scandal isn’t Trump’s, but her own party not doing what she wants them to about Trump. And the internet took it from there.
[Mail] Carl Ruiz, the TV chef best known for his roles on shows with pal and celebrity restaurateur Guy Fieri, has died of a suspected heart attack.
Ruiz, who was appeared on the Food Network shows Diners, Drive-Ins And Dives, Guy's Grocery Games and Guy's Ranch Kitchen, was 44, according to a post from his New York restaurant La Cubana's official Instagram page on Sunday.
A cause of death was not officially known. Friends who confirmed his death on social media said Ruiz died peacefully in his sleep of what was believed have been a heart attack,
'I'm absolutely gutted,' wrote chum Matt Farah in a post on Instagram, also confirming Ruiz's passing.
Longtime friend Fieri, 55, also posted a heartbreaking tribute on social media mourning the passing of his co-star.
LONDON (Reuters) - A rigid system of eligibility set by the World Health Organization means far too few people at risk of Ebola are being vaccinated in an outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo, the aid group MSF said on Monday. I'd respect and take the side of MSF more if they weren't expediting colonists migrants to Europe from Africa. Not exactly their "core mission"
The medical charity Medicins Sans Frontiers (MSF) said its efforts to get more people to be given the vaccine - developed by the U.S. drugmaker Merck (MRK.N) and being used in emergency plans in the Congo epidemic - were being frustrated by "tight controls on supply and eligibility criteria imposed by the WHO".
"Time is of essence in an outbreak: medical teams should be able to rapidly provide treatments or vaccines based on what they see on the ground," MSF’s emergency coordinator Natalie Roberts said in a statement.
"But our capacity... is severely undermined by a rigid system which is hard to comprehend."
The WHO denied it was rationing the vaccine and said it was working as hard as any organization to end Congo’s deadly Ebola outbreak.
[Daily Caller] Former Rep. Trey Gowdy said Friday he doubts James Comey will be indicted as a result of an inspector general’s investigation into possible FISA abuse while he was FBI director.
"Do you believe James Comey will face prosecution. Yes or no?" Fox News host Bill Hemmer asked Gowdy.
"No, I don’t," said Gowdy, a former federal prosecutor who retired from Congress in January.
"He’s not going to be indicted. So if that’s what people expect, they’re going to be disappointed. I’d rather set reasonable expectations," the Republican added.
Gowdy’s comments are sure to disappoint conservative Trump supporters who have called for mass prosecutions of FBI officials who took part in the bureau’s investigation of the Trump campaign. Fox News personality Sean Hannity has led the call for prosecutions, pressing guests on his show each night to agree that Comey and other FBI leaders will face legal jeopardy for relying on the unverified Steele dossier to obtain warrants under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA, against Trump aide Carter Page.
Within weeks, the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General is expected to release a report of its investigation into whether the FBI complied with FISA.
[Right Wing Tribune] Fox News contributor and author Dinesh D’Souza is being attacked on Twitter for showing precisely what progressives are doing to promote their climate change agenda.
Greta Thunberg, a 16-year-old from Sweden, is the rage of progressives as she led a Climate Strike around the world last week.
They are following a blonde, Nordic, teenage girl and that reminded D’Souza of another time in history where girls of that type were used for propaganda.
"Children‐notably Nordic white girls with braids and red cheeks‐were often used in Nazi propaganda. An old Goebbels technique!
"Looks like today’s progressive Left is still learning its game from an earlier Left in the 1930s," he said on Sunday and progressives demanded he be banned from Twitter.
Wha ...ehhh ? No, M. That must be some other D'souza.
Trump is the one who pardoned him and Trump's lawyers argued for him. Dinesh D'souza is an Obama critic and staunch conservative. A dem-bashing academic the dem academics can't argue with and try to silence. He was jailed by Obama for his film 'Hillary's America.'
Some of his other works are 'The Big Lie: Exposing the Nazi Roots of the American Left' and 'Death of a Nation' where he likens Trump to a new Lincoln set to bring back unity to a divided country.

[Babylon Bee] HARLEM, NY‐Union Seminary recent held a chapel service where its students could apologize to plants for their climate sins. Everything seemed to be going well as seminarians apologized for taking an Uber instead of walking, accidentally eating meat, and basically just existing at all.
But the touching proceedings soon took a turn for the worse. Xen Hapling, a freshperson at Union, approached a drooling giant venus flytrap and apologized for xis sins. "O great green viney one, I am sorry for all the methane I've released and for all the times I've spoken, releasing chemicals into the ai---AGGHHHH!"
The plant wasn't having it and swallowed xim in one chomp. It then began a murderous rampage, locking the doors with its tendrils and devouring all the students at the chapel.
"DESTROY ALL HUMANS!" it bellowed as it ate student after student who had confessed all their climate sins. "LEAF US ALONE! YOU WILL PAY FOR YOUR SINS! I DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR PITIFUL CARBON CREDITS, FOOLISH MORTALS!"
One Buddhist priest employed by the Christian seminary was cornered by the plant and begged for mercy.

The second most recent act in the endless fail-a-thon that is the elite’s hysterical reaction to the rise of Donald Trump was a gambit by the Stop the Hammering guy.
Lawrence O’Donnell claimed he had dirt about Russians controlling Trump because they co-signed some of his loans. He had nothing. Putting aside that when someone guarantees your debts you have leverage over him, Larry the Laughingstock had to apologize when his baloney turned to Schiff.
MC Hammered should have known that when it comes to Trump, you can’t touch this. But these leftist toadies never, ever learn.
So now, some deep state dirtbag has decided he can end-run classification (sound familiar?) and executive privilege and narc out The Donald to the House Dems by leveraging the whistleblower statutes. And what is the subject of said narcage? Allegedly, Trump told the Ukrainians that they should investigate why Joe Biden’s kid and brothers ended up with hugely lucrative sweetheart deals in that notorious Slavic cesspool of corruption.
To which Normal Americans reacted by asking, "Wait, Joe Biden’s kid and brothers ended up with hugely lucrative sweetheart deals in that notorious Slavic cesspool of corruption?"
You see, the problem with making the latest THIS WILL DO IN TRUMP! moment out of the President’s alleged attempt to investigate corruption by the Biden family is that it brings to the fore a scandal that the mainstream media has carefully covered up during the marathon of gaffes that has been Gropey J’s nomination campaign, i.e.that the Biden clan has obviously made a fortune exploiting HairPlug One’s elected offices. There’s no other explanation for their amazing success. Absolutely no one is thinking, "Well, the Bidens are a smart family of cunning and shrewd thinkers who totally could have scored these huge windfalls in Ukraine (and China too) even if Joe had not been a DC power-player for nearly 50 years."
Joe Biden is headed under the bus on this one.
[Politico] Donald Trump wasn’t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country.
Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.
A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation.
The Ukrainian efforts had an impact in the race, helping to force Manafort’s resignation and advancing the narrative that Trump’s campaign was deeply connected to Ukraine’s foe to the east, Russia. But they were far less concerted or centrally directed than Russia’s alleged hacking and dissemination of Democratic emails.
[Indian Express] In China s northwest, the government is stripping the most overt expressions of the Islamic faith from a picturesque valley where most residents are devout Muslims. Authorities have destroyed domes and minarets on mosques, including one in a small village near Linxia, a city known as Little Mecca.
Similar demolitions have been carried out in Inner Mongolia, Henan and Ningxia, the homeland of China s largest Muslim ethnic minority, the Hui. In the southern province of Yunnan, three mosques were closed. From Beijing to Ningxia, officials have banned the public use of Arabic script.
This campaign represents the newest front in the Chinese Communist Party s sweeping rollback of individual religious freedoms, after decades of relative openness that allowed more moderate forms of Islam to blossom. The harsh crackdown on Muslims that began with the Uighurs in Xinjiang is spreading to more regions and more groups.
[PJ] Prompted by the public struggles of some of its young players with mental health issues, the NBA is making a bold move and requiring every team in the league to have at least one full-time mental health professional on staff.
CNBC.com:
Cleveland Cavaliers’ five-time NBA All-Star player Kevin Love hit a wall two years ago in the middle of a game against the Atlanta Hawks.
His heart was racing, he couldn’t think, the room was spinning, he recalled in an essay for The Players’ Tribune.
"It was like my body was trying to say to me, You’re about to die.I ended up on the floor in the training room, lying on my back, trying to get enough air to breathe," Love wrote. He was taken to a hospital in the third quarter, but the doctors said he was fine.
That 2017 panic attack, as well as Love’s own public discussion of his struggles with anxiety and depression, helped prompt the NBA players’ association to sketch out a new framework last season to help professional basketball players struggling with the pressures of the game and mental health issues.
Former player Keyon Dooling and San Antonio Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan have also gone public and shared their struggles with depression and other issues.
The NBA will now require that every team have a psychologist or behavioral therapist on staff full-time and available to the players.
During a conference last February, league commissioner Adam Silver said, "What strikes me is that they’re truly unhappy," when discussing the mental health problems in an interview.
The National Basketball Players Association launched an attempt to deal with the problem last year:

[Medical News Today] Being able to identify someone's risk of cancer is vital for saving lives. However, it is challenging to predict how likely a person is to develop a specific type. Some links are known, including the link between smoking and lung cancer, while others are yet to be discovered.
According to several studies, bacteria living in the gut can predict the onset of bowel cancer.
Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States. Otherwise known as colorectal cancer, it is also the third leading cause of cancer-related death for both males and females in the U.S.
However, this risk factor is not a simple one. The makeup of the gut microbiome ‐ which refers to the trillions of microbes residing in the gut ‐ varies from person to person.
Numerous studies have investigated if specific microbe types or combinations could lead to bowel cancer or worsen its progression.
Now, researchers from Brazil's Federal University of Vicosa have carried out a review of these studies to see if they could uncover any trends or patterns.
[American Thinker] What do you do when unemployment is under 4% and the economy is doing well? Well, the answer is that you desperately look for this or that to distract a population happily employed.
The latest Ukraine scandal is such a distraction but one that Democrats may grow to regret. In other words, this may not be the story Mr. Biden wants to be explaining over the next few months.
The Hunter Biden story has been around for a while, as we see in this report from Politico:
Despite the outrage that greeted reports of the president's actions, Biden's immediate response was no simple matter.
His son Hunter Biden's lucrative contracts with Ukraine ‐ at the same time the vice president was in charge of U.S. policy toward the country raised ‐ raised the prospect of fueling a narrative with downside political risk for Biden.
"This puts him on the ropes over having to talk about this," said Patrick Murray, a pollster with Monmouth University. "He certainly doesn't want to talk about this, his family."
That's right! There is no pretty way to explain how the son got lucrative contracts from the country that the father was overseeing.
It does not pass the smell test. You cannot explain this as a coincidence. The public will connect dots and figure it out.
What's the Ukraine story? I don't know, but I'm convinced that President Trump builds a trap, and the Democrats fall right into it.
[Breitbart] Less than a year after Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) declared herself vindicated for being less than two percent Native American, the former Harvard University professor is leading in multiple state and national polls for the 2020 Democrat nomination for president.
In the most recent Des Moines Register/CNN/Mediacom poll out of Iowa, Warren took the lead with 22 percent of Democrat primary voters for the first time. Former Vice President Joe Biden, meanwhile, fell to second place with 20 percent, while Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) trailed in third with 11 percent. "Ima gonna have myself a beer to celebrate"
When Democrat primary voters were asked who their second choice for president would be, Warren gained 20 percent of voters for a combined first and second choice tally of 42 percent. Biden, on the other hand, is only the second choice for about ten percent of voters, while Sanders about doubles his prospects.
Warren had led hugely against her Democrat contenders in an Iowa Starting Line-Change Research poll from August. In that poll, Warren surged past Biden and Sanders by 11 points, earning nearly 30 percent of support overall.
Since the second Democrat presidential primary debate on September 12, Warren’s Real Clear Politics average of Iowa polls leads all other candidates with 23 percent. Biden comes in with 20.3 percent average post-debate in Iowa, while Sanders garners 12 percent.
Warren’s surge in Iowa, though, has been met with confrontation from some farmers in the agricultural state who vehemently oppose the Green New Deal, which she has endorsed. In one conversation, an Iowa farmer confronted Warren over her support for the plan, which he said would cripple his industry because of its goals to eliminate cows.

When people start paying more attention after the nomination process, they'll be turned off by this condescending, lecturing, screechy and completely uncharming battleax that 'has a big government socialist five-year type plan for everything' like all of us are - a painful reminder that the Dems just nominated Hillary 2.0, and I can't wait until it happens.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian Armed Forces in Syria have put their S-400 air defense system on alert to deal with potential Israeli Air Force incursions inside the country, defense analyst and author Babak Taghvaee reported on Friday.
The Russian Armed Forces have been reported to have intercepted and blocked the Israeli Air Force from conducting Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s in areas where the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is present.
In particular, the Russian Air Force has deployed their Su-35 jets to areas where Israeli warplanes are reported to be targeting; this has allegedly prevented the latter from carrying out their strikes.
According to Taghvaee, the Russian Air Force may allow Israel to attack Hezbollah and Iranian targets in Syria; however, they take a different approach when it comes to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
Furthermore, Taghvaee highlighted the most recent incidents in which Russian jets reportedly blocked Israeli warplanes from bombing Syria on September 18th and 19th.
A source from the Syrian Armed Forces confirmed to al-Masdar that the Russian military has taken a more aggressive approach to these airstrikes.
The Syrian military source said the Russian Armed Forces have taken this approach to protect their assets in Syria, which are all located in areas controlled by the Syrian Army.
[Big League Politics] It’s hard to imagine a national political figure that could possibly derange the progressive left more than Donald J. Trump. But New York Times writer Farhad Manjoo already has done exactly that, admitting in a Times opinion piece that populist commentator and Fox News primetime host Tucker Carlson would in fact be "worse" than Trump as President.
According to Manjoo, Carlson would be poised to deliver on the economic, nationalist populism most prominently proposed in Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and frequently featured on Tucker’s primetime Fox News show.
Majoo admits that Carlson’s pro-American platform would have a broad appeal across diverse elements of American society, reaching out to the great portions of Americans whose livelihoods are threatened by the conglomeration of wealth on the coasts by massive, soulless, and delusional San Francisco tech companies such as Facebook, Google, Apple and Microsoft. He would be poised to offer policy solutions to offset the effects of automation in an era where most conventional conservatives simply don’t care to think outside the box in order to solve one of the most pervasive problems facing American society.
[DAWN] Protesters in Hong Kong trampled a Chinese flag, vandalised a subway station and set a fire across a wide street on Sunday, as pro-democracy demonstrations took a violent turn once again.
The rail station was closed to passengers after protesters smashed it. Meanwhile, police stormed into a shopping mall in Shatin and fired tear gas in the district's New Territories town to disperse the anti-government protesters who had trashed fittings at the railway station.
The day's activities started peacefully as young protesters, many wearing masks to disguise their identity, filled the open area of a Hong Kong shopping mall and folded paper “origami” cranes in the latest twist in a pro-democracy movement that has stretched into a fourth month.
They chanted slogans and sang a song that has become their anthem, backed by a small group playing on woodwind and brass instruments through their masks. Many lined the balustrades of the three higher floors overlooking where others gathered in the wide space below.
Some put a Chinese flag on the floor and took turns running over it, before defacing it and putting it in a dumpster outside, which they then pushed into a nearby river.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Iranian authorities showed off US, UK and Israeli-made drones they claim to have downed in earlier times, as tensions with western powers escalate.
This came on the sidelines of the "Sacred Defense Week"; an Iranian annual commemoration of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.
Major General Hussein Salami, Commander-in-chief of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution, was pictured standing next to debris of the US-made RQ-4 Global Hawk.
Earlier, Salami warned that Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... will hit back hard at any state that may attack the Islamic Theocratic Republic.
"Be careful, a limited aggression will not remain limited. We are after punishment and we will continue until the full destruction of any aggressor," Salami said in remarks broadcast on state TV on Saturday.
Tensions between Iran and the United States have significantly escalated recently as the US government decided to impose a new batch of sanctions against the Islamic Theocratic Republic.
US President Donald Trump ...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...... said he expected sanctions to "work" on Iran, adding that he preferred this strategy to one involving military action.
"I think the sanctions work," Trump said during a joint presser with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. "The military would work. That’s a very severe form of winning."
[Libya Observer] A family was maimed after their home was hit by UAE-backed dronezaps of Haftar's militias on their residential area of al-Hadhba in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... , the Media Centre of the Volcano of Rage Operation reported.
The media centre clarified that the family members were admitted to the intensive care unit due to their critical condition.
The Libyan Army repelled Saturday a strong offensive by Haftar's forces, who attempted to advance under an intense air cover.
[BIZPACREVIEW] On Friday, a progressive New York Supreme Court judge presiding over a lawsuit ordered President Trump to give a videotaped deposition, saying Trump’s testimony is "indispensable."
State Supreme Court Judge Doris Gonzalez of the Bronx denied Trump attorneys’ efforts to halt the subpoena requiring him to videotape a deposition for the trial before jury selection begins September 26.
The suit was filed by protesters "involved in an incident" outside Trump Tower in September 2015, claiming they were assaulted by security staff.
Six protesters of Mexican origin sued Trump, the Trump Organization, his presidential campaign, and security personnel, according to the News Agency that Dare Not be Named.
Trump’s attorneys argued that to force a sitting president to give a deposition requires a "showing of exceptional circumstances" and that he would be a witness possessing unique first-hand knowledge of the claims.
Gonzalez rejected that argument. "President Trump’s relationship with the other defendants is now central to plaintiffs’ prosecution of their claims," she wrote. "As such, his testimony is indispensable."
The judge took advantage of the opportunity to pointedly bash the President, adding: "More than 200 years ago our founders sought to escape an oppressive, tyrannical governance in which absolute power vested with a monarch. Put more plainly, no government official, including the Executive, is above the law."
Benjamin Dictor, attorney for the plaintiffs, argued in court papers against the suit’s defendants that they were attacked by security guards in a "negligent or reckless manner" outside the main entrance to Trump Tower and their signs were confiscated. They were demonstrating against then-candidate Trump’s comments about illegal Mexican immigrants colonists, claiming he was a racist.
Dictor said his intent is to claim Trump "condoned and directed the violent actions of his staffer Sept. 3, 2015," according to the New York Post.
"This is a case about Mr. Trump’s responsibility as an employer of individuals who were authorized to use force in the course of their duties as employees to him and to the Trump Organization and to the Trump campaign," Dictor told Law.com.
Since one way of looking at Entangled quantum computers (DISCLAIMER - ENTANGLED was not mentioned in the article) is that they are rapidly spinning off alternate universes that exist to provide answers - if they did it, this has massive implications for working AI and knowledge bases. It would be really interesting to see Mathematica's search engine on a quantum entangled computer... and some practical engineering databases with some goal oriented queries.

This is big. Many threads running simultaineously across numerous processors. You can program a major military land, air and sea invasion of unmanned drones of all types now managed by a quantum computer.
The first military that does this will have a significant impact over the rest of mankind.

Does that mean if we play MMRPG, we might get stuck in the MMRPG world? Or perhaps provide us with alternative worlds for us to go to after we die?
Saddam said the same thing and then a Tomahawk launohed from the Mediteranean found it's way to the front door of his Palace on its own with great precision.

I attended a seminar recently about this, and defence related research with quantum computing. Apparently it won't ever be able to think for shit, but if ever achieved it should make fire-and-forget systems, fly-by-wire and target recognition and acquisition, interception systems exceptionally deadly.
The guy droning on was tiresome so I asked my niece - who I find exceptionally brighter than the aging Nobel contender, for a primer. This is what I learned.
The most practicable quantum computing device is proposed to be a mono-silicate (ceramic ) matrix suspended in super-cooled gas, with boron nanotubes running up and down through the matrix carrying the signals that should actuate the calculations, the whole business of computing. The electrons traveling in the nano tubes are supposed to be in a stable, coherent superposition state. Meaning their spun state (up/down) would be registered independent of what it really is, as both until needed. I think they were close to establishing that the state cannot be held coherent for long enough to get accuracy enough for a computation. Even for 2+2 level stuff. Then something changed in July. They invited scientists from all over to see and evaluate some new stuff.
All the wizards had managed so far is to get the hardware to run signals as single particles up and down itself, and register the binary states in massive memory racks. There's no software for it yet, no IO routines. It's basically an experiment into 'whether such a thing can compute'. I wouldn't call it supremacy. They've just reached one milestone in the race before other, not so excitable PR whores.
IBM's got its own 'Q' thingy and they say it's reached a similar stage, only more modular (they don't like to start from scratch) and instead of electrons they use photons, and is decentralized, spread over several terminals. They have a rudimentary interaction system going and it can print "hello world" and connect to their intranet. Of course not by itself. The japs have their own 'quantum neural network research' which borrows concepts from quantum superposition to neural networks and applies a simulation of data running in concurrent streams. They're not even close.
The closest anyone has come is a swiss couple (I forget the name), who was just refused a grant by MIT and others because Musk raised the spectre of quantum robot killer drones or something.
I'm all for an AI powered judiciary. If we can't elect the bastards, we should at least hold the switch. And an encrypted voting system that lets the citizenry announce their intent and leaning from a set of choices, a millions strong jury. The AI could then collate every vote and arrive at the best verdict. No bias, no doddering egotists, no sharts in the courthouses.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The camel was spooked by the wandering dog and woman, so the camel chased her and eventually pinning her against the wall of a building.
The camel then sat on top of the woman, nearly crushing her.
In an attempt to save herself, the woman bit the camel's testicles.
Police say the dog was simply chasing treats that the woman's husband had thrown into the camel's pen.
It's so simple. If you are offended by this sign, then you have to believe that Islam treats women unfairly. Thus you are an Islamophobe. Oops!
These people feel the message is wrong because it's making them feel cognitive dissonance, so rather than pay attention to the meaning of the text they went straight to the police demanding action.
How can this sentence be offensive unless you KNOW that Islam is NOT right about women?
Next sign : Islam is right about homosexuals.

Whoever put it up is a genius. There's no way the good liberal folk can openly object to 'islam is right...' without offending islamists. And the feminists and gays who support islam without caring what it does to its women will just quietly fume.

[DAWN] Over a hundred demonstrators were arrested at yellow vest protests in Gay Paree on Saturday as about 7,500 police were deployed to deal with the movement’s radical anarchist "black blocs" strand.
After first marching with the yellow vests, around 1,000 radical demonstrators joined a separate march against climate change where they provoked festivities with police, authorities said.
Two bank buildings were damaged in the festivities, along with motor scooters, windows and other property. Some activists built makeshift roadblocks which they then torched.
The climate march organisers urged protesters to go home to avoid the festivities which involved teargas and baton charges.
The yellow vest movement erupted 10 months ago and blindsided President Emmanuel Macron, whom protesters accuse of being out of touch with the needs of ordinary French people.
"We are assembling just to say that we can’t make ends meet. [The protest] is not only against the president, it’s against the system," said a female protester who did not give her name.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Chinese military observers turned their attention to the threats from drones after two major oil installations of Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... were attacked by drones on Saturday, saying on Monday China has a full range of countermeasures, including detection and interception systems.
Ten drones attacked the oil installations, damaging facilities that process the vast majority of the country’s crude output and raising the risk of a disruption in world oil supplies, the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... reported on Saturday.
An anonymous Chinese military expert told the Global Times surprise was the key to the attacks’ success. "If they had deployed a well-conditioned defense system, they would at least not suffer such a huge loss," the expert said.
Drones, especially those with small, slow, low-flying characteristics, are difficult for traditional air defense systems to detect and intercept, so new systems must be developed to counter them, experts told the Global Times.
China has already developed complete systems to counter drone attacks, so similar attacks would find it difficult to succeed in China, especially on strategic facilities key to national security, military observers said.
To detect these smaller drones, in addition to more capable and extra numbers of radar installations, other technologies, including infrared detection and radio environmental monitoring that track the control signal of the drones, could be used, the expert said, noting that after a drone is detected, it can be shot down by traditional guns, missiles and newly developed laser weapons, or it can be jammed through jammers.
State-owned China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) has developed a counter-drone system consisting of multiple weapons and equipment, including land-based rockets and drone-hunting drones that can shoot huge webs and vehicle-based detection devices, the China Central Television reported earlier this month.
[ALMASDARNEWS] Several Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers and National Defense Forces’ (NDF) personnel were killed on Sunday after unknown assailants attacked their positions in southeastern Deir Ezzor.
According to a military source in the Deir Ezzor Governorate, the unknown assailants attacked the Syrian Armed Forces inside the town of Sabikhan.
The source said the Syrian Army is currently investigating the attack; however, they believe it was either carried out by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... or residents of Deir Ezzor that oppose the military’s presence in the governorate.
In response to the attack, the Syrian Arab Army has sent reinforcements to the southeastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor to search for the assailants.
Recently, tensions have been running high in the governorate after a series of protests against the Syrian Army in the outskirts of Deir Ezzor city.
The residents reportedly called for the Syrian Army and their allies to leave the area in favor of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reportedly shot down an Israeli drone Saturday that was spotted entering their territory from the occupied Golan Heights region.
According to the Syrian Army’s statement, the Israeli drone was booby-trapped with cluster munitions, which later found out after shooting the unmanned aerial vehicle down over the Al-Quneitra Governorate.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) later released footage of the downed drone after it was recovered by the Syrian Army near the demilitarized zone in the Al-Quneitra Governorate.
The Syrian military downed two drones over the weekend, with the first UAV being shot down over the southeastern suburbs of Damascus.
The drone shot down over Damascus was destroyed by the Syrian air defenses after it was spotted over the Aqraba area near the Jaramana District.

[FOXNEWS] Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Rep. Devin Nunes predicted on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures" that Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...The former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body... 's campaign is likely coming to an end -- all because of newly resurfaced reports about his possible misconduct in Ukraine that "first originated back when Crooked Hillary Clinton ...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away... was trying to make sure Biden didn’t get in the race."
The top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee made the claim as The Des Moines Register/CNN/Mediacom poll showed Sen. Elizabeth Being Native American has been part of my story since the day I was born Warren ...Dem Senatrix from Massachussetts, who traces her noble lineage all the way back to Big Chief Spouting Bull. It has been alleged that she speaks with forked tongue but she denies that. She had a DNA test to prove her lineage and it turns out she's colorless... surging ahead of Biden as the first choice of 22 percent of the voters surveyed, while Biden was the first choice of 20 percent of the voters. Biden held a 9-point lead over Warren in the poll as recently as June.
Nunes, speaking to anchor Maria Bartiromo, said a whistleblower's allegation that President Trump had acted inappropriately during a July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will ultimately backfire, and shine a light on Biden's own possible misconduct. CNN later acknowledged that the whistleblower had no first-hand knowledge of the call, and a top Ukrainian official on Saturday defended Trump's actions.

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... will seek to make a case at a global gathering in New York this week for concerted action to punish and deter arch-foe Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... after strikes on Saudi oil plants rattled global markets and exposed the kingdom's vulnerability to attack.
However, a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... even Riyadh's main allies the United States and the United Arab Emirates have little appetite for a conventional military confrontation which may spark a war in the Gulf and drag in other oil producers, diplomats say.
As it tries to build a coalition, Riyadh is preparing to provide evidence to the UN General Assembly which it says will prove Iran was behind the September 14 drone and missile assault which initially drastically affected its oil output, a view shared by Washington. Riyadh says Iranian weapons were launched from the north and that it is working to pinpoint the exact location.
Iran has denied any involvement and vowed to retaliate against even a limited military response. It has criticised the accusations as part of a campaign of "maximum pressure" launched by President Donald Trump ...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election... on Tehran after he quit a 2015 nuclear pact last year and widened sanctions to choke off Iran's oil exports. Riyadh wants to see more punitive action by the international community.
"This attack is a tipping point. Saudi Arabia will make the case this was a devastating blow and continued threat to the global economy," a Gulf Arab source told Rooters on Sunday.
"If Saudi Arabia can prove without reasonable doubt that Iran was behind it, then world powers could exercise their clout ‐ their pressure, their trade tools, pulling Iran back from its brinkmanship policy," the source said.
Ahead of the UN General Assembly, Riyadh says it wants a peaceful resolution, but if the probe proved the strike came from Iran then "this would be considered an act of war".

[DAWN] Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Sunday accused "so-called friends of Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... " of trying to disrupt his ongoing 'Clean My Karachi' drive by choking sewer lines, a statement released by the chief minister's office said.
Shah made the remarks while he toured the city to inspect progress of the ongoing cleanliness campaign, that was initiated by the provincial government a day before and will last a month.
Shah said that the second day of the drive had started with the removal of heavy stones and boulders in order to unblock a 24 dia sewer line in the city's Malir 15 area and alleged that the lines were blocked on purpose in order to disrupt the cleaning drive. The chief minister added that the choked lines could have caused sewage water to spill over in Malir and Quaidabad areas as well as Shahrah-e-Faisal.
"These people are enemies of Karachi and Karachiites, therefore they are playing with them," Shah was quoted as saying by the blurb.
He was accompanied on his tour by his cabinet members, including Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani, Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Shah, Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister on Information Murtaza Wahab and Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shahlwani among others.

"We received information this morning indicating that the ship Stena Impero is going to be released in a few hours," Erik Hanell, the chief executive of the Stena Bulk company that owns the ship, told Swedish television SVT.
Contacted by AFP, a Stena Bulk spokeswoman, Lena Alvling, confirmed Hanell's remarks but said the ship had still not be freed, several hours later.
"We have nothing new to report," she said.
The ship has been held offshore near Iran's southern port of Bandar Abbas.
Hanell had expressed caution about the tanker's release.
"We understand that the political decision has been taken to release the ship," he told SVT.
"We hope it will be able to leave in a few hours, but we don't want to take anything for granted. We want to make sure the ship sails out of Iranian territorial waters," he said.
Iranian forces seized control of the British-flagged Stena Impero on July 19 as it was navigating through an international passage in the Strait of Hormuz at the entrance of the Gulf.
Tehran denied the seizure was a tit-for-tat move after British commandos seized an Iranian oil tanker on July 4 as it passed through Gibraltar's waters, under suspicion it was breaking EU sanctions on oil deliveries to Syria.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) stepped up their attacks in the Latakia Governorate this past weekend, targeting several areas under the control of the jihadist rebels.
Led by the 4th Armored Division, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a heavy barrage of missiles and artillery shells towards the jihadist tunnels and bases near the key town of Kabani in northeastern Latakia.
According to a military source in the Latakia Governorate, the Syrian Army relied on their military intelligence and that of their Russian allies to get the coordinates of these jihadist sites.
At the same time, units from the Syrian Army’s 4th Armored Division heavily targeted the bully boy positions in the Jabal Turkmen region, which is located along the Ottoman Turkish-Latakia border.
The Syrian Army reportedly targeted the jihadist movements in the Jabal Turkmen region after holy warriors aligned with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... and the Turkestan Islamic Party were seen expanding their presence in the area.

"Kabani" is Kbanah, Latakia province in Syria if you are having trouble (as I did to find the place when your Google-Fu keeps trying to point to Kobane instead). A youtube video (Syrian War Report -August 12, 2019) points where it is (yes, yes, the *cough* dubious Southfront and Sputnik, but it has a handy map). Th place seems to be one of the few roads that you would need to cross the hilly terrain (logistics!) and try to pinch off another salient (only road and so forth).
[DAILYCALLER] Former Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...Failed seeker of the Democratic presidential nomination on multiple occasions, vice president under Barack Obama, giving it a last try in his dotage for 2020... claimed he never discussed Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine. However, a hangover is the wrath of grapes... a July article from The New Yorker belies that contention.
"I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings," Biden told Fox News news hound Peter Doocy on Saturday in Iowa before calling on President Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... to be investigated over a phone call he made to Ukraine’s president.
The New Yorker article, titled "Will Hunter Biden Jeopardize His Father’s Campaign?" is an in depth look at Hunter Biden’s life and business dealings. It also contains a segment where Hunter apparently recalled discussing Ukrainian natural-gas producer Burisma "just once."
In December, 2015, as Joe Biden prepared to return to Ukraine, his aides braced for renewed scrutiny of Hunter’s relationship with Burisma. Amos Hochstein, the Obama Administration’s special envoy for energy policy, raised the matter with Biden, but did not go so far as to recommend that Hunter leave the board. As Hunter recalled, his father discussed Burisma with him just once: "Dad said, ’I hope you know what you are doing,’ and I said, ’I do.’ "
The inconsistency was pointed out on Twitter by Daily Mail U.S. political editor David Martosko:
During a July 25 phone call, a whistleblower claims President Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at least eight times to investigate Hunter Biden’s business dealings in the country.
However, a hangover is the wrath of grapes... a senior administration official told Fox News’ Ed Henry that the call contained "no quid pro quo," and that it would be "in the president’s interest" to release the call transcript.

Two years after leaving office, Joe Biden couldn’t resist the temptation last year to brag to an audience of foreign policy specialists about the time as vice president that he strong-armed Ukraine into firing its top prosecutor.
In his own words, with video cameras rolling, Biden described how he threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016 that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, sending the former Soviet republic toward insolvency, if it didn’t immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.
“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Biden recalled telling Poroshenko.

[FOXNEWS] A Florida grandmother claims her 6-year-old granddaughter was arrested by a resource officer after throwing a temper tantrum at school ‐ which she says happened because the child suffers from sleep apnea.
Meralyn Kirkland says the child, Kaia Rolle, was acting out at Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy, a charter school in Orlando, as a result of lack of sleep. The 6-year-old was then brought to the principal's office.
Kirkland told WKMG-TV that while there, a school staff employee grabbed Kaia's wrists, sparking her to lash out and kick her legs. The school resource officer ‐ Officer Dennis Turner, of the Orlando Police Department ‐ handcuffed Kaia and transported her to the Juvenile Assessment Center in Orlando on a battery charge.
Her grandmother said the child was fingerprinted and had her mugshot taken.
The Orlando Police Department told Fox News via email that the 6-year-old was released from custody and returned to the school before being processed at the juvenile center.
The arrest of people under the age of 12 requires officers to get permission from their watch commander ‐ which Turner did not do, the department said.
Kirkland claims that when she told Turner the 6-year-old has sleep apnea, which the family is "working on getting resolved," the officer didn't understand why that would be an excuse for the child.
"He says, 'Well, I have sleep apnea, and I don't behave like that,'" Kirkland claimed the officer told her.
Kirkland questioned how a child could be arrested for kicking somebody.
"How do you do that to a 6-year-old child and because she kicked somebody? ... A literal mug shot of a 6-year-old girl," she said. "No 6-year-old child should be able to tell somebody that they had handcuffs on them and they were riding in the back of a police car and taken to a juvenile center to be fingerprinted, mug shot."
Turner also reportedly arrested an 8-year-old that day in a separate incident on Thursday, according to WKMG. Baker told the news outlet Turner did not request permission for that child's arrest, either. Authorities said an internal investigation is ongoing.
Kirkland says Kaia is supposed to report to court Oct. 16 and if she doesn't a warrant will be issued for her arrest.

Actually I believe parents should be charged if they deliver drop off feral children to schools. There can be no education if there is no discipline or self control. One disruptive agent can destroy the environment for others.

I'm sorry but that's seriously overkill. By their standards, touching my child in any fashion would be considered attempted murder, kidnapping, rape and charges filed. Time to turn the tables on them and if they wanna play zero tolerance, play ZERO tolerance.

A forensic analysis of the hard drives found that they were loaded with "malicious" software and that inmates used the computers to apply for credit cards, research tax-refund fraud, search inmate records, and obtain prison access passes for restricted areas. "Additionally, articles about making home-made drugs, plastics, explosives, and credit cards were discovered," according to the report.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Iranian military displayed its Khorramshahr long-range ballistic missile with a new warhead at a parade dedicated to the anniversary of the beginning of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, Fars news agency reported on Sunday. "Death to Saddam! Death to America! Death to the Jooos! Death to 600,000 of our soldiers!"
The Iranian military also showcased domestic air defence system Bavar-373 and missile defense system Khordad-15 as well as 18 other ballistic missiles, the Fars news agency reported.
Iran’s missile program has been receiving considerable international attention for many years.
The United States and a range of its allies view it as a violation of UN Security Council’s 2231 resolution that recommends Tehran refrain from creating long-range ballistic missiles, as their development heavily relies on the nuclear weapons program banned under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman said on Sunday that his party would not recommend either Blue and White leader Benny Gantz or Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the president to form the next government.
Speaking at a meeting of the Yisrael Beytenu faction, Liberman said that both leaders had shown insufficient willingness to decouple themselves from more natural political allies on both the right wing and left wing of the political spectrum.
He called again, however, for a national unity government between Blue and White and Likud, and said that Gantz and Netanyahu should not drag the country into new elections simply over who gets to be prime minister first in a rotation agreement.
"When Benjamin Netanyahu and Likud decided to create a bloc with the ultra-Orthodox parties and then with the group of messianics, we can’t recommend Benjamin Netanyahu," Liberman said, using his derogatory "messianics" label for the right-wing, religious Yamina party. "He can’t be our recommendation and we can’t be part of this bloc."
Liberman ruled out Gantz as well, alleging that the Blue and White leader was seeking to establish a government with the ultra-Orthodox ‐ who Liberman has vowed to keep out of government ‐ and the Joint List, whom Liberman said he could never sit in government with.
"I have already said that I see the ultra-Orthodox parties as political opponents and not as an enemy," intoned Liberman. "The Joint List is, however, certainly an enemy and not political opponents, and wherever they are we will be on the other side of the aisle." That's my homie!

[DAWN] Average global temperature between 2015-2019 is on track to be the hottest of any five-year period on record, a United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... report by the world's leading climate agencies said on Sunday. "Soon as we get done adjusting the numbers, youbetcha!"
"It is currently estimated to be 1.1 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial (1850-1900) times and 0.2 degrees Celsius warmer than 2011-2015," said the report titled United in Science, a synthesis of key findings.
Other major takeaways from the report include that the extent of Arctic summer sea ice has declined at a rate of 12 per cent per decade over the past 40 years, with the four lowest values between 2015 and 2019.
Overall, the amount of ice lost from the Antarctic ice sheet increased by a factor of six each year between 1979 and 2017, while glacier loss for 2015-19 is also the highest for any five-year period on record.
The report comes ahead of a major UN climate summit on Monday that Secretary-General António Guterres ...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. [DAWN] Construction on the United Arab Emirates' first official synagogue will begin next year and be completed by 2022, according to local media reports.
The synagogue will be part of the multi-faith "Abrahamic Family House" complex in Abu Dhabi, which will also feature a mosque and church of which full construction will be completed in 2022, Abu Dhabi newspaper The National reported on Sunday.
The complex was announced in February following a visit by Pope Francis to the UAE, the first by a pontiff to the Arabian Peninsula.
Moslem UAE promotes itself as a centre of tolerance and says it supports religious freedom and cultural diversity.
However, today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday... the government does not allow dissent against its leadership and is criticised by human rights ...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you... groups for jailing activists.
Though the synagogue will be the first in the UAE, a small Jewish community of expatriates currently use a house in Dubai for private worship.
Other official non-Moslem places of worship in the country include Christian churches, a Hindu temple and a Sikh Gurdwara.
The majority of those in living in the UAE are foreign workers, the largest group of which are Indians. The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi said about 2.6 million Indians live in the UAE, or about 30 per cent of the population.
The UAE does not have diplomatic relations with Israel, though Israeli politicians have visited the country to attend international events.
[Libya Observer] The Libyan High Council of State (HCS) has called on the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez al-Sarraj to take a deterrent stance against the blatant intervention of the countries backing up the coup against legitimacy led by Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Hassan Rouhani ...Iran's moderate president, which he is, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he's anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man... said the presence of such troops in the Gulf has always brought "pain and misery", in a speech made at an annual military parade to commemorate the war with Iraq.

"Wherever the Americans or our enemies have gone, there has been insecurity afterward," the Iranian president said. "The farther you keep yourselves from our region and our nations, the more security there will be."
At the parade, the Islamic republic displayed the Khordad-3 air defence system that shot down a US drone in June. It also showcased the long-range, surface-to-air Bavar 373 missile that can travel more than 1,250 miles, bringing it in range of US bases in the region and arch-foe Israel.
