Name That Party - Detroit City Clerk Owes $65,000 In Tax Liens
[The Detroit News] - Detroit — City Clerk Janice Winfrey on Friday acknowledged she and her husband, Tyrone Winfrey, have tens of thousands in tax liens on their home, but said her financial struggles aren't unlike others in the city and she's been on a payment plan.

Winfrey spoke in response to state and federal tax records that show the couple have $65,000 in tax liens.

The Winfrey home is under a state lien, from April, for $9,753.01, and a federal lien, from January, for $54,701.92, records show, for a grand total of $64,454.93.

In a Friday interview with WWJ-AM (950), Winfrey, who is seeking another term as Detroit's clerk on Nov. 2, asserted that reports on the liens were "political."

"I'm sure I'm not the only citizen in this great city that owes taxes," Winfrey told the station.

Not mentioned in the article is Mrs. Winfrey's party affiliation, which is of course the Democrat Party.

Government Corruption
COVID-19 Detention Camps: Are Government Round-Ups of Resistors in Our Future?
[Rutherford Institute] It's no longer a question of whether the government will lock up Americans for defying its mandates but when.

This is what we know: the government has the means, the muscle and the motivation to detain individuals who resist its orders and do not comply with its mandates in a vast array of prisons, detention centers, and FEMA concentration camps paid for with taxpayer dollars.

It's just a matter of time.

It no longer matters what the hot-button issue might be (vaccine mandates, immigration, gun rights, abortion, same-sex marriage, healthcare, criticizing the government, protesting election results, etc.) or which party is wielding its power like a hammer.

The groundwork has already been laid.

Under the indefinite detention provision of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the President and the military can detain and imprison American citizens with no access to friends, family or the courts if the government believes them to be a terrorist.

So it should come as no surprise that merely criticizing the government or objecting to a COVID-19 vaccine could get you labeled as a terrorist.

After all, it doesn't take much to be considered a terrorist anymore, especially given that the government likes to use the words "anti-government," "extremist" and "terrorist" interchangeably.

For instance, the Department of Homeland Security broadly defines extremists as individuals, military veterans and groups "that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely."

Military veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan may also be characterized as extremists and potential domestic terrorist threats by the government because they may be "disgruntled, disillusioned or suffering from the psychological effects of war."

#11  Of all the things there are to worry about, detention camps seems to me to be at the bottom of the list, which I suspect is the point g(r)omgoru was attempting to make. Covid vaccine resistors are 30-40% of the population, and half or more (if you include the unlicensed handguns owned by inner city Blacks) have guns. It should be noted that while the West Coast Japanese were indeed rounded up during World War II, nobody even tried to do the same with the German-American population, though there was a similar threat of spies and saboteurs.

#13  Entire communities forced into house arrest under penalty of law is kind of suspicious, I'd say. Sure the wall are electronic, you can play Fruit Ninja on your tracking device, surrounded by undercover snitches, and enduring random cell, err, house inspections may not have the allure of a Camp Amachi. Unless, that is, that community is one which has attracted the attention of what is politely called The Van Life, and vehicles have permanently parked up and down your road, using your mailbox as an piss point.

This is now, in real time.

Round ups? What happens in Australia if you don't put down your game of Angry Birds when summoned, take a picture of yourself with a distinct background, and send that pic with a geo locator in time? And buddy, you better not forget that locator somewhere because the lack of activity will generate a ping.

#15  Remember the CDC & DHS have had a written plan of action for detentions facilities for close to 15 years.

Some might remember a recent comment listing the URL for the original CDC Containment Plan written prior to the H5N1, avian influenza outbreak.

Here is the July 2020 updated version.
Containment Planning

QUOTING PART OF THE CDC PLAN
Camp/Sector Level:
A group of shelters such as schools, community buildings within a camp/sector (max 50 high-risk individuals per single green zone) where high-risk individuals are physically isolated together. One entry point is used for exchange of food, supplies, etc. A meeting area is used for residents and visitors to interact while practicing physical distancing (2 meters). No movement into or outside the green zone

#16  And the DOD has plans to invade Canada, NN2N1, along with all the rest of our allies and enemies.

I have to wonder how much avian flu plan was updated from all the plans developed during the Cold War, or if they just took the old plan and replace the name of the disease.

Well said, Rob.

Army Doctor & Aerospace Medicine Specialist LTC. Theresa Long Calls On Pentagon To Ground ALL Pilots That Have Taken COVID Shots
[Citizens Journal] Lieutenant Colonel Theresa Long, who is an Army Doctor and Aerospace Medicine Specialist, provided an affidavit in which she recommends the Secretary of Defense to ground all pilots that have received the COVID shots.
The affidavits reads in full below. Do a search of this article for the word "pilot" and you will notice the petition of LTC. Long in point 39 below.

I, Lieutenant Colonel Theresa Long, MD, MPH, FS being duly sworn, depose and state as follows:

1. I make this affidavit, as a whistle blower under the Military Whistleblower Protection Act, Title 10 U.S.C. § 1034, in support of the above referenced MOTION as expert testimony in support thereof.

2. The expert opinions expressed here are my own and arrived at from my persons, professional and educational experiences taken in context, where appropriate, by scientific data, publications, treatises, opinions, documents, reports and other information relevant to the subject matter and are not necessarily those of the Army or Department of Defense.

Experience & Credentials

3. I am competent to testify to the facts and matters set forth herein. A true and accurate copy of my curriculum vitae is attached hereto as Exhibit A.

4. After receiving a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas Austin, completed my medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School in 2008. I served as a Field Surgeon for ten years and went on to complete a residency in Aerospace and Occupational Medicine at the United States Army School of Aviation Medicine, Fort Rucker, AL. I hold a Master's in Public Health, and I have been trained by the Combat Readiness Center at Ft. Rucker as an Aviation Safety Officer. Additionally, I have trained in the Medical Management of Chemical and Biological Causalities at Fort Detrick and USAMIIRD.

5. I am board certified in flight Aerospace Medicine and board eligible in Occupational Medicine.

6. I am currently serving as the Brigade Surgeon for the 1st Aviation Brigade Ft. Rucker, Alabama and am responsible for certifying the health, mental and physical ability, and readiness for all nearly 4,000 individuals on flight status on this post.

More recently I have functioned as a medical and scientific advisor to an Aviation training Brigade seeking to identify risk mitigation strategies, and bio statistical analysis of SARS- Cov-2 ("Covid 19") infections in both vaccinated and unvaccinated Soldiers. In so doing, I have identified, diagnosed and treated Covid 19 pathogenic infections. I have observed vaccine adverse events following the administration of EUA vaccines, and followed the success of Soldiers who obtained various Covid 19 therapies outside the military. The majority of the service members within the DOD population are young and in good physical condition. Military aviators are a subset of the military population that has to meet the most stringent medical standards to be on flight status. The population of student pilots I take care of are primarily in their 20s-30s, males and in excellent physical condition. The risk of serious illness or death in this population from SARs-CoV-2 is minimal, with a survival rate of 99.997%.

And on, and on.

Mexican Government Confirms Los Zetas Cartel Killing Field near Texas Border
[Breitbart] Mexico’s federal government confirmed the discovery of a cartel killing field miles south of the Texas border and is believed to have been used by the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas.

This week, Mexico’s National Search Commission announced the discovery of the field south of Nuevo Laredo, an area that has seen numerous “disappearances since 2012.” The property is on the 26th kilometer marking of the Nuevo Laredo-Monterrey highway.

The discovery took place when Tamaulipas state investigators went to the scene with a relative of one of the victims believed to be at the site. Members of the state and federal search commissions also found charred drums, personal items, and scattered clothing.

After the discovery, the National Search Commission asked Mexico’s government to secure the area to allow a proper investigation so that relatives can have an opportunity to find closure.

The discovery of the killing field comes months after Breitbart Texas reported on the numerous kidnappings carried out by the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas in Nuevo Laredo and along the highway to Monterrey. The criminal organization has been able to operate with almost complete impunity as they have taken more than 100 victims in recent months. The true number remains unknown.

Breitbart Texas reported on the ongoing search for a Texas woman and her two children who went missing while driving along that highway. Other U.S. citizens have been reported missing while driving from Nuevo Laredo to Monterrey.

125K More Haitian Migrants Expected in Mexico by December
[Breitbart] Mexican officials are concerned that more than 125,000 Haitian migrants are expected to be in their country by the end of 2021 with the majority trying to reach the U.S. border. However, the figure could be much higher due to migrants who enter Mexico without notifying authorities. The concerns expressed by officials range from law enforcement to humanitarian and sanitary issues since Mexico does not have the resources to absorb the influx.

Breitbart Texas obtained exclusive access to a confidential report prepared by Mexico’s National Immigration Institute (INM) for Commissioner Francisco Garduno Yanez and his top aides. Officials warn more than 85,000 Haitian migrants are currently in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panamá, and Guatemala and most have the expectation of reaching the U.S.-Mexico Border.

The report projects most of those migrants reaching Mexico by December, where they would join 40,000 Haitian migrants already in the country. This week, Breitbart Texas reported exclusively on that figure. Also this week, the government of Panama warned about 60,000 migrants in their country whom are expected to travel north.

Breitbart Texas consulted with high-level Mexican officials who expressed concerns due to the lack of funding faced by INM in the southern state of Chiapas, where most migrants enter the country. The situation has worsened as more migrants continue to arrive requiring basic necessities.

This week, Haitian Ambassador Hugues Momplaisir Féquiére announced that they would be working with Mexico’s government to implement a program called “Sembrando Vida” or Planting Life, where Haitians who voluntarily go home and help plant trees would receive $3,000 pesos or $150 USD from Mexico’s government. Mexico’s Foreign Relations Minister and presidential hopeful Marcelo Ebrard has publicly confirmed that negotiations are underway to bring the Mexican program to Haiti but has refused to talk about Mexico having to pay for the program. Ebrard also confirmed before Mexico’s Senate that a new wave of migrants from various countries could arrive in Mexico.

The Unexpected Relationship Between Ideology and Anxiety
Unexpectedly.
[PsychologyToday] People with left-wing economic views are more prone to more anxiety disorders.

  • Claims that conservatives are higher in threat sensitivity are challenged by findings from a large long-term survey in Britain.People with left-wing economic political views had higher rates of anxiety disorder symptoms.

  • People with liberal economic views tend to be higher in neuroticism and lower in conscientiousness than their conservative counterparts.

House Democrats Block COVID Testing Mandate for Illegal Immigrants
[Townhall] On Wednesday afternoon Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) attempted to bring her REACT Act ‐ which would require a negative Wuhan coronavirus test for any illegal immigrant before they are released from custody ‐ to the House floor for consideration, but 217 Democrats voted to block consideration of the proposal.

"Today, I offered my REACT Act on the House floor, which would require DHS to give a COVID test to everyone crossing our border illegally," Miller-Meeks Tweeted. "The majority chose to block this commonsense bill that would ensure the health and safety of border patrol and border communities."

White House Deploys Susan Rice for Negotiations as Joe Biden's Agenda Stalls in Congress
[Breitbart] The White House deployed Susan Rice to Capitol Hill late Thursday evening to help push President Joe Biden's agenda through Congress.

Rice, who previously served former President Barack Obama as a national security advisor, now works for Biden as the director of the White House domestic policy council.

Rice joined Counselor to the President Steve Ricchetti, White House Legislative Affairs Director Louisa Terrell, and National Economic Council Director Brian Deese for meetings with Sen. Krysten Sinema (D-AZ) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) as Biden tries to push $5 trillion in proposed domestic spending through Congress.

On Thursday, Manchin voiced his opposition to a domestic entitlement bill that costs over $1.5 trillion, angering progressives who want to see dramatic tax hikes to help pay for $3.5 trillion in spending for free universal pre-K, two years of free college, subsidized child and elder care, paid family leave, and more food stamp benefits.

I'm a bit conflicted myself. If they pass the $3.5 trillion bill (or whatever it ends up costing) they are likely to suffer a crushing defeat in 2022. That would be a good thing. But this monster legislation would do all kinds of damage to our country. That would be a bad thing.

The best possible outcome would be that the legislation fails and Democrats lose in 2022 anyway. I can dream, can't I?

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
U.S. intensifies talks to use Russian bases for Afghan counterterrorism ops
[Politico] The U.S. is in talks with countries that border Afghanistan about housing "over the horizon" counterterrorism operations that would allow the U.S. military to more easily surveil and strike targets in the Taliban-controlled nation, according to senators who attended a classified hearing with Pentagon leaders this week. Those sites could include bases run by Russia in those countries, they said.

After testifying publicly before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday, a trio of the military's top officials briefed lawmakers behind closed doors about the discussions, which are taking place with the governments of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and others, the senators said.

The disclosure to lawmakers on Tuesday came just hours after Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin acknowledged that the U.S. has asked Russia for "clarification" about an offer from President Vladimir Putin to host the U.S. counterterrorism operations on Russian military bases in central Asia.

During the classified session, senators were told that that option is being seriously considered, the lawmakers added. Gen. Kenneth "Frank" McKenzie, the U.S. Central Command chief, went into detail about specific types of aircraft and launching points that could be used to strike terrorist targets in Afghanistan.

Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, also described to senators the nature of his conversations with his Russian counterpart, Valery Gerasimov, the senators added. The Wall Street Journal first reported that Milley raised the issue with Gerasimov, but the further details of the talks have not been previously reported.

"It's their territory. But I think, realistically, Russia has influence there," Senate Armed Services Chair Jack Reed (D-R.I.) said of the neighboring countries. "And so [Russia] may not have a veto, but they certainly have an influence. So you have to talk to them."

Representatives for the Pentagon and U.S. Central Command did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"Phenomenal": Merck's new COVID therapeutic may be a gamechanger
[HotAir] -
...For the research, the monitors looked at data through early August, when the study had enrolled 775 volunteers in the United States and overseas. For volunteers who received the drug, their risk of being hospitalized or dying fell 50 percent, without any concerning side effects, compared with those who received placebo pills, Merck said in a news release announcing the findings.

Seven percent of volunteers in the group that received the drug were hospitalized, and none of them died, compared with a 14 percent rate of hospitalization and death ‐ including eight deaths ‐ in the group that received the placebo.

...Just as the vaccines inspired by the pandemic represented a breakthrough, i.e. the use of mRNA to generate antibodies against a novel virus, the new therapeutic involves a breakthrough as well. Instead of attacking viral proteins, molnupiravir scrambles the invader's genes to stop it from replicating. In other words, it hacks the virus.
Good luck getting FDA approval (10 years of multi-generation experimentation on rats to prove that it doesn't affect host's genes/protein synthesis)

Price of #covid19 drugs/vaccines:

Pfizer vaccine: $19.50/dose x 2 = $39 for primary series

Regeneron antibody drug: $2100/dose

Merck/Ridgeback's molnupiravir (if EUA'd): ~$700/course (US paying $1.2B for 1.7m courses) or $70/pill

#1  Those prices are the prices of the bribes for their cooperation with the Ivermectin part of the disinformation operation. To pay Merck off for not performing trials with Ivermectin themselves.

These people you're shilling for... if the truth were widely perceived, there'd be trials of those people in little glass cubes and gallows and flights to the middle of the Antarctic to scatter the ashes. Or maybe Venus.

And it's not just Ivermectin or Plaquenil.

Take a look at this:

Antihistamines and azithromycin as a treatment for COVID-19 on primary health care – A retrospective observational study in elderly patients.

Which I find notable because I've been prescribed a very similar combination of antihistamines and azithromycin for pneumonia about five years ago. It's amazing what can happen if you don't have a psychotic gnome telling everyone to not try the standard pneumonia treatments because the molecular scanner says so.

But wait, there's more...

Retracted COVID Paper Lives on in New Citations:
Researchers around the world have continued breathing new life into a retracted study, which suggested that common antihypertensive medications were harmful in patients with COVID-19.

Published online on May 1, 2020 in the New England Journal of Medicine, the study relied on Surgisphere data to claim an association between renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) inhibitor therapy and worse outcomes in hospitalized COVID-19 patients with cardiovascular disease.

The journal retracted the paper due to concerns about fraudulent data on June 4, 2020 in a widely publicized move, but the study has continued to rack up citations -- totaling at least 652 as of May 31, 2021, reported Todd Lee, MD, MPH, of McGill University in Montreal, and colleagues.

It's strange that the fake study was revealed in June but its recommendations were still being followed in December, when people I know being hospitalized had their ACE inhibitors (that they had been on for a decade or so) discontinued in spite of their known utility in helping kidney function.

(Never mind all the business of whether or not it inhibited spike proteins... do you understand why kidney function is important to pneumonia patients?)

#4  #2 Remember the author is an idiot. The thing is, probably, inhibitor of coronavirus replicase-transcriptase.
Judging by the text "induces errors in coronavirus genes", inhibitor of exoribonuclease which does proofreading. And we don't have such enzymes.

Nevertheless, what I added re FDA applies - because enzyme inhibitor may not be narrow-specialization enough to be safe.

NYC Teachers Fail to Get Relief from U.S. Supreme Court on Vaccine Mandate
[Townhall] U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor declined a request Friday night from NYC teachers to block the city's vaccine mandate. As Ariane de Vogue wrote for CNN, the justice "did not refer the request to the other Supreme Court justices, or comment on her action, likely signaling they agreed with her decision." This is not the first time the Court has refused to provide such relief. In August, Justice Amy Coney Barrett rejected a request from students at Indiana University to block the school's vaccine mandate. Justice Barrett likewise did not refer it to the other justices.

Teachers who have not received at least one dose by this Friday at 5:00 pm will be replaced, according to an interview Mayor Bill de Blasio gave with Spectrum 1. "If you have not gotten that first dose by Friday, 5 p.m., we will assume you are not coming to work on Monday and you will not be paid starting Monday and we will fill your role with a substitute or an alternative employee," the mayor said.

California will pay drug users to stop using
[HotAir] When Billy Lemon was trying to kick his methamphetamine addiction, he went to a drug treatment program at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation three times a week and peed in a cup. If it tested negative for meth, he got paid about $7.

“For somebody who had not had any legitimate money – without committing felonies – that seemed like a cool thing,” says Lemon, who was arrested three times for selling meth before starting recovery.

The payments were part of a formal addiction treatment called contingency management, which incentivizes drug users with money or gift cards to stay off drugs. At the end of 12 weeks, after all his drug tests came back negative for meth, Lemon received $330. But for him, it was about more than just the money. It was being told, good job.

“It was the first opportunity where I was like, I have self-worth, still. It’s buried. This person sees it and is willing to give me seven dollars, just to take care of myself. That was very motivating,” he says.

Dershowitz and pro-Trump 2020 attorney join forces for Dominion lawsuit
[Washington Examiner] Alan Dershowitz teamed up with a Texas attorney, who made the case for overturning former President Donald Trump's 2020 election loss, to file a complaint on Thursday against Dominion Voting Systems on behalf of Michigan poll challengers.

The eight plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit allege cease-and-desist letters sent to them by Dominion, which has engaged in a number of high-dollar defamation lawsuits against fraud allegations in the 2020 election, violated the civil provision "of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act," engaged in "civil conspiracy," and denied their rights under the First Amendment and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment, according to court documents filed in federal court.

"I believe the election was absolutely fair. I believe President Biden is the legitimately elected president. But I think the issue should be debated and should not be censored. I believe Dominion is trying to suppress free speech," Dershowitz said in an interview Friday afternoon, the Daily Beast reported .

Dershowitz, who helped Trump's Jan. 6 impeachment trial defense, is joined by Kurt Olsen, an attorney who previously presented legal arguments in favor of overturning the 2020 election results .

Biden has zero credibility on his $3.5 trillion spending bill - or anything else for that matter
[Washington Examiner] President Joe Biden can't seem to settle on how to sell the nation on his $3.5 trillion spending plan. First, the White House tried to convince the country it was a "human infrastructure" bill. When voters refused to swallow that tripe, Biden highlighted the ambitious nature of the plan by selling the $3.5 trillion number itself.

"It is a zero price tag on the debt we're paying," Biden said last week. "We're going to pay for everything we spend."

Biden is really trying to convince voters that $3.5 trillion in spending would cost nothing because he plans to pay for it by raising taxes instead of issuing debt. It is hard to tell which argument is worse ‐ Biden's claim that this is an "infrastructure" bill or that it has zero cost. Both show a White House that treats voters with contempt.

That is over-generously accepting Biden's claim that his $3.5 trillion spending bill won't add to the debt, even though it is quite obviously false.

Snail mail: USPS slows first-class mail delivery service
[Hot Air] The term ‘snail mail' is coming true in a very real way, effective today. As of October 1, the U.S. Postal Service will slow first-class mail delivery. The move is one that Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is implementing in hopes of cutting costs.

The postal service will slow mail delivery for 4 of 10 pieces of first-class mail. Mail delivery will be at its slowest pace since the 1970s. Paul Steidler, a senior fellow at the Lexington Institute and an expert on the postal service, is critical of the cost-cutting gesture. He calls DeJoy's USPS overhaul plan "disastrous". The slowdown means that mail delivery of first-class items like letters, bills, and tax documents will take up to five days to arrive in your mailbox. It currently takes up to three days for first-class mail to arrive.
You can be assured political mailers will be right on time, though
This may not sound like a big deal but for some snail mail users it will be an unexpected adjustment. Many people handle personal financial matters like paying bills online but not everyone does that. Older people and anyone mailing in important documents with deadlines like tax forms or passport renewals will have to plan accordingly for the long mail time. Bills that are paid by mail may incur late fees with the slower travel time. It can add up.

Steider said that while everything in today's society is getting faster, the postal service is getting slower.

Postmarked 1st class taking 7 to 10 calendar days to arrive.

Outgoing 1st class mail to pay bills was taking 8+ days.

USPS Overnight delivery from Atlanta to St. Louis took 3 days. So much for that $25 fee.

Back in Jan/Feb. was worse as we were seeing 14+ days for a while.

Germany investigates man on suspicion of spying for Turkey
[DW] Police have arrested a Turkish man in Düsseldorf possessing weapons and a list of supporters of the Gulen movement, which the Turkish government has labeled "terrorists."

Germany's federal prosecutor general announced Friday that the investigation resulting from a raid on a Düsseldorf hotel that saw the arrest of a Turkish man identified as Ali D. was being treated as a case of suspected espionage on behalf of the Turkish state.

Federal Prosecutor General Peter Frank said Ali D. was under investigation on suspicion of collecting information on supporters of the Gulen movement in the Cologne area.

Counterintelligence cases fall under the purview of the federal prosecutor general in Germany.

WHAT TRIGGERED THE INVESTIGATION?
On September 17, an employee of the niu Tab hotel in Düsseldorf discovered that a guest had a weapon. Special police forces searched the hotel for hours as surrounding streets were cordoned off.

Police investigators then found a pistol and 200 rounds of ammunition on Ali D., along with documents containing the names of supporters of the Gulen movement. Authorities said that people who might have been in danger due to their presence on the lists of supporters contained in the documents had been notified.

Prosecutors believe that Ali D. was acting on behalf of and under the guidance of MIT, the Turkish intelligence service. Authorities allege messages on his cell phone suggest as much. He is currently in custody.

Ali D. had initially been investigated on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime and for breaching German gun laws.

The federal prosecutor general's spokesperson on Friday said "sufficient evidence" had since emerged to make the case a counterintelligence matter.

WHAT IS THE GULEN MOVEMENT?
The Gulen movement is a decades-old Islamic movement in Turkey that has adherents worldwide, including in Germany.

The movement's leader, Fethullah Gulen, currently resides in the US state of Pennsylvania.

Gulen used to be a confidant and an ally of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's.

The two had a very public falling out when police supportive of Gulen in Turkey made a series of arrests in December 2013 that swept up many Erdogan allies, including his son.

Erdogan blames the group, and a military faction comprised of Gulen's supporters for a coup attempt on July 15, 2016.

The Turkish government has since labeled the Gulen movement a terrorist network and prosecuted it for infiltration and subversion of state institutions.

Erdogan has also pressed the US to extradite Gulen and Germany to rein in and take action against his supporters in Germany.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran warns 'war with Israel has already begun' and says 'the entire crisis in the region is Israel's fault'
Question: Is Iran massing tanks on the border with Azerbaijan because they used some Israeli weapons in their war with Armenia?
[Daily Mail] An Iranian spokesman has declared that 'war has already begun' with Israel as tensions between the two nations reach a boiling point.

Saeed Khatibzadeh, a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, made the statement to the Maariv newspaper before going on to place the blame for the crisis in the Middle East squarely at the feet of Israel.

Khatibzadeh claimed that Israel 'has murdered nuclear scientists and harmed the Iranian people'.

Iran is blamed for terrorism, but there is no good or bad terrorist. The entire crisis in the region is the fault of Israel,' he said.

His comments come just days after Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett appealed to the international community for support in confronting Iran over their nuclear programme.

In his maiden speech to the United Nations General Assembly, Bennett said Iran had breached all the 'red lines' aimed at curbing its nuclear weapons programme but that Israel 'will not allow' Tehran to get the bomb.

After claiming that an Iran-Israel war was already underway, the Iranian spokesman added that Israel 'had done everything' in an attempt to scupper nuclear talks with the UN in Vienna, and sought to drive a wedge between Iran and world powers.

Khatibzadeh continued: 'Israel severely harmed our civilians and research system.

'They speak about the Iranian nuclear threat, but Israel has hundreds of bombs, and it never signed the non-proliferation treaty for nuclear weapons.'

Meanwhile, Bennett has openly condemned Iran's perceived plans for the region and stands steadfastly against Iran's development of their nuclear programme, which Israel believes is gearing towards the development of warheads.

'Iran´s great goal is crystal clear to anybody who cares to open their eyes: Iran seeks to dominate the region - and seeks to do so under a nuclear umbrella,' Bennett said on Monday.

He called Iran´s new president, Ebrahim Raisi, the 'butcher of Tehran' for his past role in suppressing political dissent and accused Iran of arming, funding and training Israel´s enemies across the region.

He also suggested that Iranian meddling had brought disaster to countries like Lebanon, Syria and Yemen.

Japan kept Soviet forces pinned down in the east during WWII
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Text is from a speech by Anatoly Koshkin delivered September 30th at a conference on Russian military history in Moskva

[REGNUM] In Western historiography, and often in the writings of Russian "overthrowers of the historical concepts of the totalitarian period," it is common to say that the success of the counteroffensive near Moscow "the Stalinist regime owes Japan." Which, allegedly, honestly fulfilling the obligations under the Soviet-Japanese pact of neutrality, made it possible at a critical moment to transfer the Siberian and Far Eastern divisions to the Soviet-German front, which ensured the victory.

This version is widespread in Japan itself. The Japanese authors of the book Milestones on the Way to the Conclusion of a Peace Treaty between Japan and Russia, published in Russian, write: "... Having transferred his troops from the Far East and from Siberia to the west, I. Stalin was able to fight the German army with full dedication, and Japan, for its part, was able to send the elite troops of the Kwantung Army to the south."

Some Afghan evacuees leaving military bases in U.S. before resettlement
[Reuters] Something unexpected is happening at U.S. military bases hosting Afghan evacuees: Many hundreds of them are simply leaving before receiving U.S. resettlement services, two sources familiar with the data told Reuters.

The number of "independent departures," which top 700 and could be higher, has not been previously reported. But the phenomenon is raising alarms among immigration advocates concerned about the risks to Afghans who give up on what is now an open-ended, complex and completely voluntary resettlement process.

Hamas operative killed in IDF shootout was brother of slain soldier’s kidnapper
[IsraelTimes] One of the Paleostinian button men who was killed in a West Bank shootout with Israel Defense Force troops earlier this week was the brother of one of the Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, fighters involved in the 1994 kidnapping and murder of Israeli soldier Nachshon Wachsman.

Ahmad Zahran’s brother Zahran Zahran was killed by Israeli security forces — reportedly using a booby-trapped suitcase — four years after he participated in the abduction that shook the entire country.

On October 9, 1994, Wachsman, 19, a soldier in the Golani infantry brigade, left a base in northern Israel and disappeared after trying to hitch a ride at the Bnei Atarot junction in central Israel. Two days after his disappearance, the Hamas faceless myrmidons who kidnapped him released a video demanding the release of hundreds of Paleostinian prisoners in exchange for his freedom. If Israel did not comply, they vowed to kill Wachsman the following Friday at 8 p.m.

A team from the elite Sayeret Matkal special forces unit tried to rescue Wachsman from the Paleostinian village north of Jerusalem where he was held, but his Hamas captors killed him as the soldiers closed in.

In addition to his brother, Ahmad Zahran’s grandfather Musa was killed in the 1948 War of Independence and his uncle Muhammad was killed in the 1967 Six-Day War, Haaretz reported Thursday.

Ahmad Zahran, 31, was killed along with two other Hamas operatives during a raid by Israeli security forces on the Paleostinian villages of Bidu and Beit Anan near Ramallah early Sunday morning. According to the army, the Hamas operatives shot up the Israeli troops, initiating the shootout. The three had also been meeting in order to carry out an imminent attack against Israel, the IDF said.

Zahran lived in Bidu and was heralded in Hamas-affiliated media as a prominent field commander in the terror group’s military wing. He had been imprisoned in Israel for a total of six years on terror-related offenses. The most recent sentence he served was for three years, exiting jail just seven months ago.

Zahran’s mother told the Safa news site that "the one who sent the Jews to me and my children is the Paleostinian Authority," claiming the IDF managed to track her son down through its security coordination with the PA.

Bidu is one of eight Paleostinian villages that found themselves surrounded by Israel’s West Bank security barrier, which was erected after the Second Intifada. The wall cut off the villages from some of their agricultural lands, leading to mass protests from the Paleostinian locals while it was being built.

Recent months have seen a spike in violence in the West Bank, with more frequent attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers, as well as gunfire exchanges between Israeli troops and Paleostinian Death Eaters.

A Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...

Illinois family outraged at no murder charge in teen's death due to ‘mutual combat'
[thegrio... or something] An Illinois family mourning the death of their 18-year-old son is outraged that no murder charges will be filed in conjunction with his death due to what prosecutors are calling "mutual combat."

Manuel Porties, Jr. was killed Tuesday after being stabbed to death during a recorded, planned fight in Schaumburg, a town located 30 miles east of Chicago.

According to WGN 9, video of the fight shows Porties Jr. being punched in the face by a 17-year-old, who then stabs him in the neck as he lies on the ground.

The younger teenager has not been identified but has been charged with misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon.

"They're saying that it's mutual combat," said the slain man's father, Manuel Porties. "How is it mutual combat when my son didn't have anything to combat with? The only thing he had was his two hands."

"He stood over my son and finished him," he added, "and that's not murder?"

Congress Members To Wear Barcodes So Lobbyists Can Scan Prices, Self-Checkout
[Babylon Bee] In a move to make purchasing congresspeople easier and faster for lobbyists, Congress voted to approve a new measure that calls for congresspeople to wear barcodes on their foreheads so lobbyists, activists, and corporations can simply scan them and self-checkout.

Self-checkout machines will be installed at all exits of the Capitol Building, so once they've added congresspeople to their cart, lobbyists can pay right on the way out.

"Purchasing congresspeople used to be a time-consuming, expensive process," said a Planned Parenthood representative. "Now, we can simply walk through Congress, scan all the congresspeople that are for sale, and checkout without having to interact with any humans."

"We hate humans---like, a lot," the PP rep added.

One major military-industrial complex lobby group, Americans For Bigger Bombs, said they are also in support of the new move.

"When you need to make a quick pit stop at our nation's legislative body to purchase a few congresspeople to start a new war, you need to do it fast," said one AFBB lawyer. "An attack on Iran can't wait while you wheel and deal, wine and dine, and negotiate endlessly. Now, I can just scan and go."

MoI to Probe Reports of Killing, Torture of Panjshir Civilians
[ToloNews] The Ministry of Interior on Friday said it will investigate the alleged torture and killings of civilians in Panjshir province.

Saeed Khosti, spokesman of the ministry, said such behavior is not allowed.

“The Islamic Emirate does not allow anyone to torture anyone after the amnesty it announced. This is the policy of the Islamic Emirate. If any minor incidents happen in some places, the Islamic Emirate will try to investigate it,” Khosti said.
"If there's any torturing going on, WE'LL be the ones doing it. Capisce?"
Meanwhile, a number of residents of Panjshir province said some force members of the Islamic Emirate torture civilians and demand weapons.

Imam Reza, a resident of the province, said five days ago members of the Islamic Emirate forces captured and released him but after hours of torture.

“The Taliban took me, beat me, tortured me and asked for weapons. I shouted that I do not have any, but they did not hear,” he said.

A video posted on social media showed a man calling himself the head of the intelligence department of the Islamic Emirate in Panjshir province and saying that members of the Islamic Emirate forces have tortured and even killed a number of people in the province.

“We bring people down from the mountains. Then another person comes and kills them. What response do we have for (our) people? We do not know what to do,” he said in the video.

The Ministry of Interior has said it is not known whether the man in the video is the head of the intelligence department in Panjshir or not, adding they will investigate the issue.

Meanwhile, forces belonging to the Resistance Front in new footage released on social media have said they are present in parts of Panjshir province.

A million bolivars become one as Venezuela recalibrates battered currency
[FRANCE24] Venezuela unveils new banknotes on Friday to once again slash zeroes off its currency, battered by runaway inflation that has compounded the country's economic collapse and left many struggling to put food on the table.

The national economy has shrunk by 80 percent since 2013 as the oil price crashed and output dwindled during decades of under-investment, US sanctions, and mismanagement by successive socialist governments.

The latest devaluation is the third in 13 years and gives Venezuela the dubious distinction of becoming the South American country to have removed the most zeroes from its currency.

Seven one-million bolivar notes -- the highest denomination and very hard to come by -- were needed to pay in cash for one loaf of bread in the once-rich oil-producing nation, now battling the world's highest inflation rate.

Consumers have struggled to make payment for even the most basic goods or services and public sector workers have found themselves receiving salaries paid in millions of bolivars that are effectively worth nothing.

Turkey set to clear over 80,000 mines on Iran border
[Rudaw] Turkey has started the removal of 83,000 landmines along its eastern border with Iran as part of a two-year EU-funded project, a spokesperson for the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkey told AFP on Wednesday.

The 18.6 million euro project, carried out in partnership with the Turkish Mine Action Centre, will make 4.2 million square meters of land safe for local civilians and border management personnel.

Turkey, a party since 2004 to the Ottawa Treaty which bans the use of anti-personnel landmines, agreed to phase out anti-personnel landmines and establish a humanitarian border surveillance system.

The mines were put in place in eastern Turkey "between 1953 and 1996 in order to prevent illegal crossings and smuggling as well as to ensure security against the threat of the PKK", head of communications for the UNDP in Turkey, Faik Uyanik, said.

In the 1990s, the Turkish army intensified the use of mines as part of its fight against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), listed as a terror group by Ankara and its Western allies.

"Landmines have earned universal condemnation as the most inhumane tool for controlling borders," UNDP resident representative Louisa Vinton said in a statement on Tuesday.

"We are so proud that UNDP Turkey is currently managing the largest de-mining project under way under United Nations auspices anywhere in the world. The large scale is testament to Turkey's strong commitment to humanitarian border management, in line with EU standards," Vinton said.

In all, 175 deminers backed by 16 mine detection dogs are working in four Turkish provinces for demining operations.

Some of the land cleared by the project will be open for raising livestock and farming, the main local occupations.

UK NHS notes mystery rise in heart attacks from blocked arteries
[TheTimes] Health experts have been left baffled by a big rise in a common and potentially fatal type of heart attack in the west of Scotland.

During the summer there was a 25 per cent rise in the number of
people rushed to the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank with partially blocked arteries cutting blood supply to the heart.

Typically the centre, which is the largest of its kind in the UK and treats people from five health board areas, receives 240 patients a month suffering with this form of heart attack, but this rose to more than 300 over May, June and July of this year. Doctors have searched for a pattern among patients to determine if less access to health checks in the pandemic or a history of Covid-19 infection may explain it but have found no obvious trend.
In 2020 I had 2 simultaneous tiny strokes in 2 different parts of my brain, whose cause has yet to be determined. I was concerned these might have been related to COVID, but I had never been symptomatic. My docs refused to test me for COVID during my 48 hours in hospital. A few days after my release I went on my own and got a COVID PCR test which was negative. Sometimes stuff just happens.

#3  2 hours before my strokes I had just completed a 3-mile walk on a sunny warm day, a typical day's exercise for me. I may have gotten a trifle dehydrated. Stroke specialists said the 2 simultaneous strokes were definitely due to a single blood clot that split into 2 fragments just before lodging in my cerebellum, unless you prefer to believe other mechanisms for the clot formation. Have no symptoms at all now, fortunately. Studies on my head & neck showed healthy blood vessels, no apparent clot sources there. They put me on clopidgrel since I can't take low dose aspirin to make my platelets less sticky, and added atorvastatin which drastically lowered my cholesterol levels. They implanted a cardiac monitor in my chest wall to look out for atrial fibrillation for the duration of its battery life, about 3 years. Am now waiting for the next shoe to drop...

took control of the country, according to an assessment prepared for Afghanistan's international donors, exacerbating the current economic crisis.

The confidential, two-page brief, written early this month by senior international economic officials for institutions including the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, said the country's severe cash shortage began before the Taliban took control of Kabul.

MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC avoid McAuliffe's remark opposing parents having a say in what schools teach
I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach
[FoxNews] There has been an overwhelming media blackout of one of the most talked-about moments from the Virginia gubernatorial debate between Terry McAuliffe and Glenn Youngkin.

Education has been a top issue in the tight race for Virginia's governor being closely watched across the country and is widely seen as a bellwether for the upcoming 2022 midterms.

During Tuesday's matchup, the Republican challenged the former Democratic governor for vetoing a bill that would have allowed parents to be informed about materials provided in Virginia schools after citing examples of books featuring pedophilia and other sexually explicit content that were recently voiced by parents.

MCAULIFFE SAYS HE DOESN'T BELIEVE PARENTS SHOULD TELL SCHOOLS WHAT TO TEACH

"I'm not going to allow parents to come into schools and actually take books out, make their own decision," McAuliffe defended the veto. "Yeah, I stopped the bill that- I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach."

Afghanistan
Taliban order their fighters to leave Afghan homes they seized
[IsraelTimes] The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
on Thursday ordered their fighters to leave private homes that they had taken over during last month’s blitz when the group seized control of Afghanistan, an apparent effort to impose order among Taliban ranks.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter awoke groggily, his hand still stuck in the Ming vase...
in the capital of Kabul, the Taliban fired shots to disperse a women’s rally demanding equal rights, while the regional chief for the International Federation of the Red Thingy (IFRC) warned that Afghanistan was sliding into a deep "major humanitarian crisis" with the coming winter and severe financial shortfalls.

The order by Taliban Prime Minister Hasan Akhund followed recent public statements by Taliban officials hinting at plans to improve organization and marshal fighters. It said that Taliban members belonging to the bad boy group’s defense, interior and intelligence agencies who are living in private homes need to "report back to military bases" across the country.

In recent weeks, the Taliban abandoned their traditional, civilian dress and donned military fatigues to project an air of authority. Bilal Karimi, a Taliban security official, confirmed the directive to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

The Afghan army abandoned most of its positions or surrendered to the Taliban during the August blitz, allowing Taliban fighters to take over military bases as well.

In Kabul on Thursday, the Taliban fired shots to disperse a small rally of six women outside a local school, demanding equal rights to education. They confiscated posters held by the women that read: "Do not burn our books!"

Other women coming to join the protest in the Kart-e-Char neighborhood were later told to go home, according to a witness who spoke on condition of anonymity, fearing Taliban reprisal. Mawlawi Nasratullah, a Taliban official, later told news hounds that women had not asked for permission to rally.

The International Federation of Red Thingy and Red Islamic Thingy Movement is appealing for 36 million Swiss Francs ($38 million) to continue funding health clinics, emergency relief, and other services across Afghanistan’s 16 provinces.

On Wednesday, United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
front man Stephane Dujarric asked donors to fast-track funding for a $606 million flash appeal that is only 22 percent funded, to help 11 million Afghans for the remainder of the year.

"There needs to be some solution to the financial flows into Afghanistan to ensure that at least salaries can be paid, and that essential supplies, power and water being two of them, can be procured," Matheou said.

Since the Taliban takeover in mid-August, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have paused disbursements to Kabul, while the United States froze billons of dollars in assets held in American accounts by the Afghan Central Bank. Foreign aid previously accounted for nearly 75% of Afghanistan’s public expenditure, according to a World Bank report.

Alleged terrorist detained by FSB in Cherkessk with explosive materials
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Lead paragraph rewritten in English. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] A man was detained by the Russian FSB with bomb making materials on his person according to Russian language media.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, the FSB announced today the arrest in Cherkessk of a 20-year-old resident of the neighboring republic of Kabardino-Balkaria. Components and tools for making an improvised explosive device were seized from him.

According to the ministry, the detainee was preparing a terrorist attack in the city against law enforcement officers and acted on the instructions of the militants of the international terrorist organization "Islamic State."
Definitely a terrorist, all right.
In a video of the FSB Public Relations Center, published today on the TASS YouTube channel, people in civilian clothes inspect the clothes of a man lying on the ground in handcuffs. This is followed by shots of the seizure of the contents of the backpack - camouflage clothing is taken out of it.
Video is in Russian and is in untranslatable format.
Demonstrated is a five-liter plastic water tank wrapped with tape. The tape is cut with a knife, revealing that it is holding many metal bolts and nuts on the bottle. White powder is poured from the bottle itself.

Also removed the diagram, made by hand on a notebook sheet. The diagram shows the building of the Prosecutor's Office on Krasnoarmeyskaya Street near the intersection with Soyuzny Lane. According to the service "Yandex. Maps", in this place in Cherkessk is the building of the prosecutor's office of Karachay-Cherkessia.

When the detainee is already sitting on the ground, filming a mobile phone, he is asked about his age. The young man replies that he is 20. "What did you do here?" - asks the security officer. The young man moves his lips, but his answer is not heard. To the question: "Do you understand what he was detained for?" he nods in the affirmative.

72 women Army officers denied permanent commission should not be discharged till October 8, says SC Army
[Scroll.in] The Supreme Court on Friday provided temporary relief to 72 women Army officers who have been denied permanent commission, Live Law reported.

The court said that the officers should not be relieved from their services till the next date of hearing on October 8.

The petitioners' lawyers told the Supreme Court that the women had scored 60% marks in their assessment and were medically fit.

However, they were denied permanent commission because of "disobedience of orders, [for] forging medical documents, poor work ethics, lack of professionalism and un-officer like conduct", Live Law reported.

The lawyers said that their clients' disqualification from permanent commission was against the Supreme Court's order from March, NDTV reported.

The court had said in March that permanent commission should be granted to women Short Service Commissions Officers who score 60% marks in their assessment, meet the Army's medical criteria and obtain vigilance and disciplinary clearance, according to The Hindu.

On Friday, the petitioners' lawyers told the court: "We all have above 60% [marks]. We are all medically fit. And there is no vigilance case against us. We fulfil all criteria for permanent commission."

The Supreme Court asked the Centre to explain why the officers were denied permanent commission.
Apparently the Supreme Court didn't read the previous paragraph above: "they were denied permanent commission because of "disobedience of orders, [for] forging medical documents, poor work ethics, lack of professionalism and un-officer like conduct""
"None of these officers should be relieved from service until the next hearing," Justices DY Chandrachud and BV Nagarathna said, according to NDTV.

In a landmark verdict in February 2020, the Supreme Court had directed that women officers in the Army be granted a permanent commission, including command postings.

The Army had constituted a special selection board in September to screen women officers. The results for this were declared in November 2020. Women who were not granted permanent commission had moved the Supreme Court.

Afghanistan
EU allocated over $300 million in humanitarian aid for Afghan people
[KhaamaPress] President of the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
Ursula Von der Leyen on Wednesday, September 29 said that they have allocated US$ 348.2 million in humanitarian aid for the people of Afghanistan.

Leyen on her Twitter post wrote that the EU is standing by the people of Afghanistan and added that the EU’s flight brought aids to Afghanistan.

In the meantime, the EU commissioner for crisis management Janez Lenarcic has said that they have delivered 32 tonnes of humanitarian aids to Afghanistan.

Lenarcic has added that the aid will be distributed by UNICEF and WHO to the people who are most affected by conflicts and cholera in Afghanistan.

Prior to that, the UN’s Central Emergency Response Fund released US$45 million to help prevent the collapse of Afghanistan’s health sector.

The humanitarian aid comes at a time when the people of Afghanistan are grappling with a looming humanitarian crisis and they are in desperate need of relief assistance.

Yesterday, China’s first consignment of humanitarian aid arrived in Kabul and is intended to be distributed by the ministry of refugees and repatriates in Afghanistan.
The aids include blankets and warm clothes that will be distributed to IDPs as the winter season is approaching.

Earlier, China had pledged to provide the people of Afghanistan with $1.5 million unconditional aid and one million doses of the Corona vaccine.

Chinese ambassador to Kabul Wang Yu in his meeting with Khalil-ur Rahman Haqqani said that his country will supply humanitarian aid to Afghan people before the winter season arrives.

Government Corruption
FBI Arrests Retired Green Beret for Attending Jan. 6 Protests After He Refused To Be Their Informant!
[GATEWAYPUNDIT] Last March, Jeremy Brown started speaking out about how the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) contacted him and attempted to recruit him to spy on patriots and everyday Americans. In December FBI agents contacted Jeremy Brown at his home for "posting some things online."

Jeremy released video surveillance of the FBI contacting him at his home. And Jeremy released an audio recording of his actual meetup with the FBI. Jeremy struggled for months about whether or not to go public with this information. But according to his Facebook page — "After listening to politicians and the FBI Director, Chris Wray, tell lie after bald-faced lie to the American People, he could not stay silent any longer."

Jeremy decided his desire to protect and defend the American people and the TRUTH are more important than privacy or personal safety.

Earlier this year Jeremy joined Brandon Gray on Banned.TV to describe what happened to him after he joined the Oath Keepers in November.

Jeremy explains in his recent video that the FBI called his cellphone and asked for a meeting after trying to contact him at his house. Jeremy then met with the FBI agents at a restaurant in Ybor City in December. He told Brandon Gray that 38 seconds into the interview the FBI attempted to recruit him to spy on the Oath Keepers.Jeremy recorded his interview with the FBI in Florida. He recorded and released the entire conversation to BanThis.TV.

On Thursday afternoon at 3:45 PM Eastern the FBI raided Jeremy Brown’s home and arrested Jeremy. The charge is trespassing. We were notified this morning by his family and an attorney.

The FBI searched their house, RV, and trailer. And then they arrested Jeremy and took him away.

We will update as we have more information. His family has contacted The Gateway Pundit.UPDATE (8:15 AM) : We just spoke with Jeremy’s girlfriend. She tells us Jeremy will have an appearance today in Pinellas County Court. He is charged with trespassing, a misdemeanor.

Jeremy Brown NEVER entered the US Capitol on January 6. His crime was refusing to be an FBI informant.

The FBI sent 20 vehicles for the arrest. DHS and Pinellas County law enforcement were also present. The FBI was in Jeremy’s home for 5-and-a-half hours looking for evidence. We were told this morning that the FBI did not read Jeremy his rights.

Jeremy’s girlfriend is still very upset and could not sleep. She will contact The Gateway Pundit later with updates.

It should be noted that Jeremy Brown told The Gateway Pundit back in June that "scores of guys" had written him saying they were also approached by the FBI to spy on the patriot groups.

Afghanistan
Round-up: Life in Afghanistan under the Taliban
[DW] A collection of photos.

Airspace Revenue Drops, Airline Industry Struggling
[ToloNws] The suspension of airline flights has harmed the airline industry and the closing of Afghan airspace has caused revenue to plummet, industry analysts said.

The estimated revenue loss from the closed Afghan airspace since the fall of the former government is around $7 million, said analysts.

Airlines that stopped or changed their offered flight routes have lost around $20 million, say airline officials.

Airline companies expressed concern over the closed airspace and the reduction of flights, saying that the airlines should immediately resume operations.

Officials at Kabul Airport said all types of flights will resume in the future.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Afghanistan, the country was receiving over five billion Afs in revenue for the use of its airspace annually.

Afghans Complain of Delays in Iran Visa Process
[ToloNews] A number of people who were gathered in front of the Iranian embassy in Kabul complained of the lack of transparency in the visa-issuing process.

They said the official process was slow and some people on the side were offering visa services for around $2,000.

The embassy of Iran resumed its consulate service three days ago after a longtime suspension of the visa process as a result of fall of the former government.

Herat Family Asks Emirate to Release Photojournalist

Freelance photojournalist Murteza Samadi was detained by the Taliban about three weeks ago in western Herat province while covering a women's protest held in front of the governor’s office.

Public Universities to Reopen After New Hires: Ministry
[ToloNews] After the Taliban’s takeover, Afghanistan’s public universities have remain closed across the country, as the Taliban called for the segregation of genders in classrooms.

Sabera Saayedi is in her last year of studying journalism, and she is calling for the urgent resumption of lessons at the universities. She said: “Universities stopped many times--due to COVID-19 and then the government collapse--students are getting exhausted.”

Private universities opened about one month ago in Afghanistan.

Based on available numbers, there are 32 state universities across Afghanistan.

Red Cross Says Over 2,000 Health Facilities Shuttered in Afghanistan
[AnNahar] The World Health Organization warned last week that less than a fifth of the country's health facilities remained fully functional, with two-thirds having run out of essential medicines.

This could have dire consequences, including for the response to the Covid-19 pandemic. In a country where only around one percent of people have received a vaccine, more than one million doses are waiting to be distributed. They will expire by the end of the year, Matheou said.

The international community has pledged $1.2 billion in humanitarian aid, but it takes time for the funds to flow.

The Geneva-based IFRC appealed Thursday for 36 million Swiss francs ($38.5 million, 33 million euros) to deliver emergency relief and recovery assistance to more than half a million people in the provinces worst affected by severe drought and displacement.

Taliban say they have raided IS hideout north of Kabul
[AlAhram] Taliban

...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group north of the Afghan capital on Friday, killing and arresting an unspecified number of krazed killers, a Taliban front man said

Since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in mid-August, there has been an increase in attacks by IS forces of Evil targeting Taliban members. The Taliban and IS are enemies, and the attacks have raised the specter of a wider conflict between the long-time rivals.

In late August, an IS jacket wallah targeted U.S. evacuation efforts outside Kabul international airport in one of the deadliest attacks in the country in years. The blast killed 169 Afghans and 13 U.S. service members.

Taliban front man Bilal Karimi told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that Friday's raid took place in the city of Charikar in Parwan province. He did not provide more details and his statement could not be independently verified.

The raid followed an arrest by the Taliban of two IS members linked to a roadside kabooming that targeted their vehicle in the city, wounding four fighters, Karimi said. The two were questioned and the information they provided helped the Taliban identify the hideout, he added.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
California man gets life sentence for 2019 Poway synagogue shooting
[IsraelTimes] Agreement with prosecution that spared John T. Earnest
...8chan nutter who succeeded at the synagogue after failing previously at a mosque...
the death penalty
left little suspense about outcome.

A 22-year-old former nursing student was denied a chance to address a courtroom before a judge sentenced him Thursday to life in prison without the possibility of parole for bursting into a Southern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, synagogue on the last day of Passover in 2019 with a semiautomatic rifle, killing one worshipper and wounding three others.

Earnest’s attorney, John O’Connell, said his client wanted to make a statement but San Diego Superior Court Judge Peter Deddeh refused, saying he did not want to create "a political forum" for white supremacist views.

"I’m not going to let him use this as a platform to add to his celebrity," the judge said, pointing to comments that Earnest made to police when he was arrested, hand gestures to the audience during a previous hearing and his probation report.

San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan, who listened to victims from a front-row seat, told news hounds that Earnest’s planned statement was "more spewing of hatred and propaganda" and that the judge made the right call. The prosecutor asked the judge to reconsider only to guard against any possibility that Earnest alleges he was treated improperly, she said.

Earnest’s court-appointed attorney declined to speak with news hounds. His parents did not attend.

Minutes after the shooting, Earnest called a 911 dispatcher to say he shot up the synagogue to save white people. "I’m defending our nation against the Jewish people, who are trying to destroy all white people," he said.

The San Diego man was inspired by mass shootings at the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh and two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, shortly before he attacked Chabad of Poway, a synagogue near San Diego, on April 27, 2019. He frequented 8chan, a dark corner of the internet, for those disaffected by mainstream social media sites to post holy warrior, racist and violent mostly peaceful views.

Earnest legally bought a semi-automatic rifle in San Diego a day before the attack, according to a federal affidavit. He entered the synagogue with 10 bullets loaded and 50 more on his vest but fled after struggling to reload. Worshippers chased him to his car.

Earnest killed 60-year-old Lori Gilbert-Kaye, who was hit twice in the foyer, and maimed an 8-year-old girl, her uncle and Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein, who was leading a service on the major Jewish holiday.

Earnest’s parents issued a statement after the shooting expressing shock and sadness, calling their son’s actions a "terrifying mystery." Their son was an accomplished student, athlete and musician who was studying to be a nurse at California State University, San Marcos.

"To our great shame, he is now part of the history of evil that has been perpetrated on Jewish people for centuries," they said.

His conviction for murder and attempted murder at the synagogue and arson for an earlier fire at a nearby mosque carry a life sentence without parole, plus 137 years in prison.

Earnest also faces sentencing in federal court on Dec. 28., having pleaded guilty after the Justice Department said it wouldn’t seek the death penalty. Defense attorneys and prosecutors are recommending a life sentence.

India-Pakistan
ISI, Khalistan forces will try taking advantage of instability in Punjab
[OneIndia] Pakistan is known to use to its advantage any instability in India. Be it protests or political issues, the ISI has known to engineer trouble and take advantage.

In Punjab, the situation is volatile courtesy the political circus following the ouster of Captain Amarinder Singh and later on the resignation of. Navjot Singh Sidhu. It is a well known fact that the ISI has been trying to bolster the Khalistan movement in Punjab.

While the Khalistan movement has not been re-kindled the way the ISI would have wanted, the fact remains that the activities of these groups have only been on the rise off late. The stability in the politics of Punjab has been one reason why the democratic set up could not be shaken in the state.

In this backdrop, senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal said what does it mean when this is happening in a border state to the Congress party. It is an advantage for the ISI in Pakistan. We know the history and the rise of extremism in the state. We know that the forces across the border exploit the situation to create unrest. It is these forces that are a threat to our country Sibal also said.

Zulfikar Bhutto had once said that Pakistan will also have a Bangladesh carved out of India, but it would be on the Pakistan border. This was a reference that he made to Khalistan.

The ongoing farmer protests have gained support from the global Khalistan movement. Thousands of protesters gathered outside the Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom and displayed Khalistan flags. Paramjeet Pannun, closely associated with the ISI funded Sikhs For Justice and members of the Sikh Federation, UK, which is associated with the Khalistan movement were part of the protests.

The ISI has for the past two decades made attempts to revive the Khalistan movement in India.

Intelligence reports amidst the farmer protests also indicated that Pakistan based Khalistan groups are being pushed by their handlers to exploit the farmers' agitation in a bid to revive militancy in the state.

Since the early part of this decade, Pakistan has been funding the SJF launched Referendum 2020 movement. In 2018 a module was busted in Punjab. It was found that this group was promoting Referendum 2020 and had planned on mass targeting. They even had their eyes set on an IPL game in Mohali.

Senior officials tell OneIndia that while the Khalistan movement has not gained the traction that Pakistan would have desired, the issue however continues to persist. The ISI will continue to fund the movement and will look for fragile situations and make use of it.

In the past few months several outfits such as the Babbar Khalsa, Khalistan Liberation Force, Khalistan Zindabad Force, ISYF and Khalistan Commando Force have come under the scanner. A meeting at the Nankana Sahib in Pakistan between these elements and the ISI also came under the scanner.

China-Japan-Koreas
Taiwan scrambles jets after largest ever incursion by China
[Aljazeera] Taiwan has reported the largest ever incursion by the Chinese air force into its air defence zone, with 38 aircraft flying in two waves as Beijing marked the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Chinese-claimed Taiwan has complained for a year or more of repeated missions by China's air force near the democratically governed island, often in the southwestern part of its air defence zone close to the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands.

The Taiwan Defence Ministry first reported Taiwanese fighters had scrambled against 18 J-16 and four Su-30 fighter jets plus two nuclear-capable H-6 bombers and an anti-submarine aircraft on Friday.

Then in the early hours of Saturday, the ministry said a further 13 Chinese aircraft were involved in a mission on Friday night – 10 J-16s, 2 H-6s and an early warning aircraft.

It said Taiwan sent combat aircraft to warn away the Chinese aircraft, while missile systems were deployed to monitor them.

The first batch of Chinese aircraft all flew in an area close to the Pratas Islands, with the two bombers flying closest to the atoll, according to a map issued by the ministry.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF troops shoot dead Gaza man, say he had ‘suspicious bag’ as he neared border
[IsraelTimes] Incident ends relative lull in violence along frontier; Hamas praises Palestinians who attacked Israeli forces in Jerusalem, West Bank and were shot dead.

Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian man who approached the central Gaza border on Thursday morning, the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry said.

The Israel Defense Forces said troops fired at the man after he was seen approaching the border with two other men in a suspicious way by IDF troops watching the area through surveillance cameras.

“IDF monitors saw three suspects approaching the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip, as one of them was seen digging in the ground while carrying a suspicious bag,” the military said, without further clarifying.

“After he was spotted, IDF troops who were on the scene opened fire at the suspect,” the IDF said.

The military said it was aware of the Palestinian reports that the man had been hit by the gunfire and died, but would not comment further.

Gaza health officials identified the deceased as Mohammad Abd al-Karim Abu Ammar, 40, saying that he had been shot in the neck by live bullets.

According to Gaza media, Abu Ammar had approached the border while “bird-hunting” east of el-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

“Mohammad was attempting to safeguard his children and family’s daily bread by going to hunt birds, as per the season. But the merciless occupation, which we and the world know well, has no pity. The martyr Mohammad was innocent,” his cousin told Palestinian journalist Hassan Islayeh.

He was fatally wounded and pronounced dead a short time later in a nearby hospital, official Hamas media reported.

The incident came amid a relative lull in violence along the border, following a tense period earlier this month that saw repeated rocket attacks and the launching of balloon-borne incendiary devices from the Strip into Israel.

Two other Palestinians were killed on Thursday during confrontations with Israeli forces. Israel Police said Israa Khazimiyah, a 30-year-old woman from a town outside Jenin, tried to carry out a stabbing attack and was shot and killed in Jerusalem’s Old City. A member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group, Alaa Zayud, 22, was killed in a predawn shootout with Israeli soldiers near Jenin.

Gaza’s Hamas rulers publicly mourned the two deceased Palestinians, calling them “our people’s heroic martyrs.”

“We repeat that only armed resistance and comprehensive confrontations with the occupation can stop its aggression and expel its settlers from our occupied land,” the terror group said in a statement.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Pskov native returns home after escaping slavery in Buinaksk
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Rantburg posted a feature story on slavery in the Caucusus September 9th. You can read it here.

[KavkazUzel] Vladislav Platonenko, who managed to escape from labor slavery in Buinaksk, returned to the Pskov region and intends to complain to the police about torture at a brick factory. The police in Dagestan promised to help with checking the plant where Platonenko worked, the Alternative anti-slavery movement reported.

As "Caucasian Knot" wrote, on September 19 the "Alternative" movement published the story of Vladislav Platonenko, a native of the Pskov region, who was in labor slavery for a year at a brick factory in Buinaksk.

Platonenko came to Moscow to look for work, but at the station he was offered a job in Dagestan. Finding himself undocumented in labor slavery, Vladislav was beaten and abused, after which he developed memory problems. The man managed to escape together with a resident of Ryazan. In Ryazan, Platonenko turned to the police, but he was advised to go home and make documents. Arriving in Moscow, he lived on the street for four days until he was given the contacts of "Alternative", activists said, announcing an inspection of the brick factory, which Platonenko told about.

Vladislav Platonenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today that he returned home and now lives in the Pskov region with his mother and is applying for a new passport.

"In Ryazan, I turned to the police, but they said: make a passport at the place of registration. Now documents are being processed in the Pskov region, the passport will be ready within a month. Health is better, memory is restored. I will receive documents, restore my health, I will think about work," said Platonenko.

He clarified that during his stay at the brick factory in Buinaksk he was not paid, he was only given food. According to him, about 20 forced laborers worked at this plant, besides him.

"As soon as I get a passport, I will write a statement to the police about torture. In Ryazan, the police told me earlier that they could not accept the application without a passport," Vladislav Platonenko explained.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan promised to provide "Alternative" assistance in checking the plant where Vladislav Platonenko worked, the head of the "Alternative" movement Oleg Melnikov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, having found it difficult to specify the timing of the check.

Since Vladislav had clear signs of bodily torture, the activists "decided to try to open a criminal case," he explained. "Fortunately, there are few such factories left in Dagestan, the problem is more in Kalmykia and the Stavropol Territory," said Oleg Melnikov.

We will remind, on September 4 it became known that a criminal case of a 30-year-old owner of a livestock camp in Kalmykia, accused of illegal imprisonment of a person , was transferred to the court . According to investigators, the accused kept the employee by force, took away his passport and phone, and did not pay his salary. When the victim tried to escape, he was caught up and severely beaten, after which he was thrown into the steppe.

From 2019 to September 2021, two criminal cases were considered in the courts of Kalmykia under the article on illegal imprisonment, the press service of the Supreme Court of Kalmykia told the "Caucasian Knot" on September 16.

Only those who declare themselves a forced laborer can help to get out of labor slavery, Oleg Melnikov told the "Caucasian Knot" in January 2020 after the release of three people in Dagestan. There are criminal articles for slave labor, but they practically do not work, the lawyer Abusupyan Gaitayev confirmed then.

In Dagestan, most of the reported cases of forced labor are related to factories producing building materials. Slaves in Dagestan are a cheap labor force that is lured to the Caucasus mainly by fraudulent means. In fact, they are goods that can be bought and sold, says the "Caucasian Knot" statement "

Georgia arrests ex-President Saakashvili after return from exile
[AlJazeera] The arrest comes after Saakashvili returned from eight years in exile and a day before key municipal elections in Georgia.

Georgia has arrested former President Mikheil Saakashvili after his return to the country following eight years in exile, as the ex-leader sought to mobilise supporters ahead of national municipal elections seen as critical to the country’s political makeup.

Local media showed a video of smiling Saakashvili being escorted into the Rustavi penitentiary institution on Friday evening.

"I want to inform the public that the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, is arrested. He was transferred to a penitentiary institution," Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili told a news conference on Friday.

The announcement came about 18 hours after Saakashvili, who was convicted in absentia and has lived in Ukraine in recent years, posted on Facebook that he had returned to the country. Georgian officials earlier in the day had denied he was in Georgia.

In the posts, Saakashvili called Saturday’s elections “crucial” for Georgia and had called for a rally in Tbilisi on Sunday, promising to join it.

Saakashvili was convicted in absentia on abuse of office charges in 2018 and sentenced to six years in prison. He denies any wrongdoing and says the case is politically motivated.

President Salome Zourabichvili said she would not pardon Saakashvili, the TASS news agency reported on Friday.

Al Jazeera’s Robin Forestier-Walker, reporting from the Georgian capital Tbilisi, said Saakashvili’s return to Georgia was “momentous” and something the former leader had talked about for many years.

“Now it seems he has put all his cards on the table and he’s hoping that somehow this return will have an impact on Georgian politics – which is very fractious at the moment,” he said.

Forestier-Walker said Georgian politics had become increasingly polarised and bitter, and centred around political personalities rather than issues.

"The real issues that are facing this country – a stricken economy, and terrible COVID infection rates – these sorts of things have been underplayed. We have now this mercurial figure from the past re-emerging on the scene trying to shake things up."

Forestier-Walker said the big issue now is whether his return on the eve of these municipal elections is going to have an effect on the result.

"Because these elections are being seen as very important. They are municipal mayoral elections, but they are being seen by the opposition as a referendum on this government. And if the government fails to get enough support, it could be forced into calling early snap elections."

House of Romanov descendant Georgy weds at Saint Isaac Cathedral
[TASS] Georgy Romanov,
...a sleekly well fed gentleman of forty who may or may not be the heir to the Russian throne, but who definitely is a Prussian prince...
a descendant of the House of Romanovs, and his wife, Italian citizen Rebecca Bettarini, wed in St. Petersburg’s Saint Isaac’s Cathedral Friday.

According to the Russian Imperial House, this is the first wedding of a House representative to take place in Russia in over 100 years. Romanov and Bettarini — who converted to Orthodox Christianity and was christened Viktoria Romanovna in July 2020, officially registered their marriage in a Moscow registry office in late September.
before that she was just "Becky"
The ceremony was attended by several hundred guests from several countries, including Duke Michael of Wuerttemberg, Duke of Anjour Louis Alphonse de Bourbon, the last king of Bulgaria Simeon Borisov von Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Prince Joachim Louis Napoleon Murat, Prince Philipp and Princess Isabelle of Lichtenstein, and others.

Georgy Mikhailovich Romanov is a son and an heir of the Russian Imperial House head Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna of Russia, the only child of Vladimir Kirillovich Romanov and Duchess Leonida Georgiyevna Bagration of Mukhrani.

The legitimacy of Maria Vladimirovna’s title of Grand Duchess is challenged by the other line of descendants of House Romanov, who trace their bloodline to Emperor Nicholas I’s grandson, Grand Duke Nikolay Nikolayevich.
See? And if the Romanovs are ever again asked to reign, they can meet at a certain field at dawn with their seconds to settle the thing.

Afghanistan
Pakistan eliminates gate pass at Torkham crossing point
[KhaamaPress] Pakistain’s ambassador to Kabul Mansoor Ahamd Khan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality disorders...
has ordered the elimination of gate pass at the Torkham border to facilitate the movement of Afghan people to Pakistain.

Mansoor Ahmed Khan has cited PM Imran Khan’s special assistant in establishment Shehzab Arbab saying as the cabinet made the decision after mass complaints about extortion at Torkham passing point.

"Federal cabinet took notice of complaints of illegal extortion of money from incoming Afghans on Torkham border." Says Arbab in his Twitter post.

The special assistants wrote the PM Khan has directed smooth crossing only through permission letters and valid visas.

The decision comes as Pakistain closed the Chaman crossing point in the south of Afghanistan on Thursday, September 30.

Local residents say that the crossing point was closed after a verbal conflict between border guards of Pakistain and Afghanistan.

Pak officials have commented on the Issue yet.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Two suspects in West Bank stone-throwing attack on Palestinians released
[IsraelTimes] Judge says adult and minor were likely arrested over their ‘appearance’; Tuesday’s assault in the South Hebron Hills left a dozen wounded, including a 3-year-old boy.

Two Jewish suspects arrested over a stone-throwing assault on a Palestinian village in the southern West Bank earlier this week that left more than a dozen wounded were released Friday.

The two, an adult and a minor, detained on Thursday, were the fifth and sixth suspects taken for questioning over their alleged participation in the attack on Tuesday.

But on Friday morning, they were released with no restrictions by the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court.

“The request for the detention against them in the first place was discomforting,” justice Havi Tucker said according to Kan news. She added that it was likely they were arrested over their “appearance.”

Nati Rom of the Honenu legal aid organization, representing the detainees, said that “again the court confirms what we have been saying, that these are false arrests, only over their appearance.” He also charged the police with not investigating stone-throwing crimes committed by “anarchist left-wing groups” and Palestinians.

Another minor, accused of assaulting soldiers, though not participating in the attack against the Palestinians, had his remand extended until Sunday.

On Tuesday afternoon, dozens of masked Israelis threw stones at Palestinians in the South Hebron Hills. The rocks smashed cars and injured at least 12 Palestinians, including a three-year-old, Palestinian and Israeli witnesses said.

Some Palestinians threw stones back at the settlers as well, leading to clashes between the two sides, witnesses said. Three Israelis were injured as well, according to Hebrew media reports.

In videos from the scene, Israeli settlers can be seen breaking Palestinian car windows and hurling stones at Palestinian homes. The confrontations took place near the small Palestinian shepherding village of al-Mufaqara, a cluster of homes that straddles two illegal Israeli West Bank outposts, Avigayil and Havat Maon.

Assault and vandalism by settlers against Palestinians and Israeli security forces in the West Bank are commonly referred to as “price tag” attacks. Perpetrators say that they are retaliation for Palestinian violence or government policies seen as hostile to the settler movement.

Israeli authorities rarely arrest Jewish perpetrators in such attacks, making Wednesday’s and Thursday’s arrests an unusual step. Rights groups lament, however, that convictions are even more unusual than arrests, and the vast majority of charges in such attacks are dropped.

On Tuesday, a Palestinian and an Israeli settler were arrested by Israel Police officers. According to a police spokesperson, the Palestinian is suspected of attacking a soldier and violating a military order. The Israeli, a Havat Maon resident, is believed to have thrown stones and disobeyed soldiers’ instructions, the spokesperson said.

Palestinian witnesses said that the Israeli military fired tear gas and stun grenades at them, but not the settlers. The army declined to respond to the allegations.

The injured toddler, Mohammad Bakr Hussein, was allegedly struck in the head by a rock hurled by a settler as he slept in his house in al-Mufaqara. Hussein was evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba in moderate condition, a hospital spokesperson said.
