Election Day open thread
A thread to talk about our experiences today, track vote results, and share interesting articles so that Rantburg’s article count doesn’t explode. I put this on P.6: Seedy Politics because I suspect we’ll see some of that today, though I hope not as much as some might have planned — it seems Homeland Security has advised law enforcement to stay in their toes today. I’ll start:

DecisionDesk HQ Battleground Race Scorecard

PJ Media’s Liveblog is mostly covering the election today.

#1  There was a lone democratic operative just outside of the no canvassing zone with sign asking to talk to him if you had trouble voting. Sort of looked like the may tag repairman. I think the funniest amendment here in Fl was one that would both ban offshore drilling and indoor vaping. I will put odds that it passes and then people go WTF!

#5  The text messages from the DNC folks to my phone (who they obviously believe is someone else) are getting really frantic for some reason.

#10  Butler County, Ohio, which is solid Republican territory. Our Democrats were among the first to try running a veteran for office, back in 2006, if I recall correctly, but even that wasn’t enough. Outside the polling place there was a solitary Republican handing out cheat sheets for the voters — the Democrats didn’t even bother to show up this year, though they’re usually there.

Mr. Wife reported no line at all at 2 p.m. I had one before me when I arrived, five waiting when trailing daughter #1 and I left. Newest daughter voted by mail over the weekend, because she is in the hospital being gotten healthy enough for thoracic surgery — we’re hoping for later this week. The polling place was calm and orderly, with no protesters outside, and cheerful faces inside.

Trailing daughter #2 voted this morning, commenting it was heartening to see how many were waiting when the polling place opened in Plano (Dallas), Texas.

#11  We have Accuvote card stock for our ballots. We fill in the bubbles with a pen and there is a lot of room between bubbles, so you would have to be seriously out of control to hit another bubble.

Accuvote ballots are put in an optical reader and tallied. In a pinch, you can hand tally, with always a paper backup. Common sense and simple.

#12  North Texas. Community College. Lots of young people on the campus I would assume, but none in the long line. Mostly over 40 at 3PM. Lots of crew cuts and nary a man-bun in sight. Buncha kids with BETO! signs kind of hanging out, across from the larger "Keep Texas Strong Vote Republican" cowd, and Ted Cruz people and other people on the other side of the sidewalk. The GOP state senate candidate was there shaking hands in person. Chatted with one of the GOP people, said they had a great turnout up here, but they were a bit worried about down by Houston (Dem area). Said north of Dallas (dep red) was setting a GOP record with turnout. Lets hope its enough.

Taliban’s military commission chief for 3 districts of Faryab has died
[Khaama Press] The military commission chief of Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
for three districts of Faryab province Qari Yousuf has died, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.

According to a statement released by MoI, Qari Yousuf who was also famous as Haqyar, was critically maimed during a clash with the security forces in Sherin Tagab district two days ago.

The statement further added that Qari Yousuf was the military commission chief of the Taliban for Khwajah Sabzposh, Sherin Tagab, and Dawlatabad districts.

According to the Ministry of Interior, Qari Yousuf died of his wounds late on Saturday night in Pashtun Kot district.

The anti-government armed holy warrior groups including Talibs have not commented regarding the report so far.

Faryab is among the relatively volatile provinces in North of Afghanistan where the Talibs are active in some of its districts and often carry out terrorist related activities.

Taliban commander among 6 killed, wounded in U.S. drone strike in Laghman
[KhaamaPress] At least six snuffies including a local commander of the group were killed or maimed in U.S. dronezap in eastern Laghman
...It has a population of about 445,600, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a rural society. During the invasions of Alexander the Great, the area was known as Lampaka, wich is apparently Olde Macedonian for Laghman. The city of Mihtarlam serves as the bucolic capital of the province. The population is half Pashtun, the remainder Tadjik and Pashai. It had a repution for great wealth until it was conquered in the tenth century by Abu Mansur Sabuktigin.
He conquered it and set fire to the places in its vicinity which were inhabited by infidels, and demolishing the idol-temples, he established Islam in them, He marched and captured other cities and killed the polluted wretches, destroying the idolatrous and gratifying the Musulmans. After wounding and killing beyond all measure, his hands and those of his friends became cold in counting the value of the plundered property.
After that it was mostly notable for the production of dirt, rocks, and holy men.

province of Afghanistan.

The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the East in a statement said the coalition forces carried out Arclight airstrikes using unmanned aerial vehicles, targeting the snuffies in Qala Tak area of Alisheng district in Laghman.

The statement further added that the airstrikes left at least three snuffies dead, including their local commander Allah Yar.

According to 201st Silab Corps, at least three snuffies also sustained injuries during the airstrikes.

The anti-government armed myrmidon groups including Talibs have not commented regarding the report so far.

Laghman has been among the relatively calm provinces in East of Afghanistan but the security situation in some of its districts has tanked comparatively during the recent years amid ongoing efforts by anti-government armed snuffies to expand their insurgency in this province.

Christians Face Clear Choice Between Party That's A Hypocritical Mockery Of Their Faith And One That's Openly Hostile To It
[Babylon Bee] U.S.‐Christians voting their conscience have quite a choice this Election Day with the two major political parties.

With the Republicans, Christians have the option of declaring all their beliefs hollow by supporting a party that pays lip service to Christians while it is full of lies, greed, a hostile pose to foreigners, and a cavalier attitude about war. Christians can especially show their hypocrisy by throwing yet more support behind a president who stands anathema to just about every moral standard they've previously claimed important while he makes only a marginal effort to show support of faith (though the other day he referred to the second epistle to the Corinthians as "Corinthians 2: Corinthians Harder").

With the Democrats, though, Christians can basically opt for suicide by giving support to a party that is actively against them, having shown they are very willing to make Christians face trial and lose their jobs for holding the same moral beliefs they've held for thousands of years. The only religious belief the Democrats seem to hold dear is that every knee shall bow at the altar of abortion (and pay forced tribute).

"It's a really interesting choice," said Christian Tanya Lloyd. "By supporting the Republicans, I'm giving people further ammunition to dismiss my beliefs as an empty cultural pose. At least they like to pretend to be Christian, though, while sometimes it seems like the only thing keeping the Democrats from hunting me down with hunter-seeker drones like from The Terminator is lack of technology."

#1  Political hit piece.
Posted by: Woodrow || 11/06/2018 5:45 Comments || Top||

#2  *yawn* Christians active in Politics for years are very much aware that the current environment affecting us was first planted in the early fights against Abortion: the use of leading terminology in slanted media, biased selection of interviewers and interviewees, selective ignoring of relevant facts and biology, smash-mouth tactics. The Pro-life movement saw this all happening long before the Demoncrats realized the tactics were effective against all Republicans.

Christians recognize, from Scriptures, that God can use sinners to carry out His Will. Many aware Christians liken Trump to Cyrus the Great: someone chosen by God as a tool to promote and further His people on earth while not actually being OF His People.

Demoncrats love to strike a "moral" pose that knowledgeable Christians recognize as fake and unproductive, tending more to words than deeds, and their love of Socialism is an indicator of greed and sloth: Socialism is a system of resource distribution, not of production, and the process of "redistribution" of resources from the makers to the takers by the fakers actually demotivates the producers.

Using fallen human nature to carry out God's will was what motivated the writers of the Constitution (many of whom were good Christians who profoundly believed in the fallen-ness of human nature), so they designed a system where greed checked greed.

For all its failings, the Republicans never advocate mass murder of babies. If its okay for blacks to never vote for anyone who doesn't support their civil rights, Its okay for me to never vote for anyone who supports abortion.

#3  Using fallen human nature to carry out God's will was what motivated the writers of the Constitution (many of whom were good Christians who profoundly believed in the fallen-ness of human nature), so they designed a system where greed checked greed.

Notice the rumbling of altering the Constitution now the current in the Left's media and talk. For them its all about Power. To the writers of the Constitution, it was about containing power. They accepted the imperfections and checks of their system due to the fallen nature of man which would corrupt anything that permitted the centralization and concentration of power.

#6  If the Left had pooled all the money they've spent to regain power and instead focused on the caravan marchers, think of all the support those 10,000 Central Americans could have been provided without leaving home. It's all about power. Everything else is pretense.
Posted by: Procopius2k || 11/06/2018 9:13 Comments || Top||

#7  Correct, P2k. The utter genius of the Constitution was that the writers and designers were able to harness the lust for power in all three branches to have them check each other. While they never anticipated the development of political parties while writing it, the design was adaptable enough to handle their appearance. They didn't anticipate Marx and the Uniparty charade, nor did Jefferson anticipate that the media would become a monopolized voice of the Uniparty.

Ironically, the only way to make the Constitution work today is for Christians to fight to get power and thus act as an opposing force, thus the fight to keep Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court.

Britain
Focus on cities 'risks overlooking small towns'
[BBC] Welsh towns could be overlooked because of the heavy focus on cities and regions, according to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

It has called for a new fund to support towns to develop their own strategies.

It also says trying to attract big department stores is a "weak strategy" given the current problems experienced by House of Fraser and Debenhams.

It comes as the Welsh Government launches a campaign to encourage the public to support the retail sector.

The FSB says the focus on city deals with financial backing for the regions around Cardiff and Swansea Bay risks ignoring small towns where 40% of the population lives.

Vacancy rates were 13% in town centres in Wales in 2017 compared with 11.1% in England and 11.9% in Scotland.

Ben Cottam, from the FSB, has written to the Finance Secretary Mark Drakeford highlighting the UK chancellor's Budget announcement of two initiatives to help high streets in England - a business rate relief element and the "Future of the High Streets Fund".

Europe
How Estonia Secures Its Electronic Elections From Kremlin Attacks
[Defense One] Americans fret a lot about the threat of a crippling cyber attack. But the small European country of Estonia lived through one, a 2007 Kremlin-led effort to destabilize the country by attacking government websites. Yet the experience only strengthened Estonians resolve to extend digital service to its people, most notably electronic voting.

Just two years before Russia’s attack, Estonia began a pilot program that essentially allows its citizens to vote from home or work. To many Americans, this seems to promise a solution to increasingly common election-day problems: long lines, fewer polling places, uneven hours, etc. Some 25 U.S. states are experimenting with some form of e-voting for military service members. But most U.S. citizens can’t do it, despite polls showing a strong preference for it, particularly among young voters.

The Estonians haven’t had any major problems with e-voting, thanks to pioneering approaches to securing elections and keeping digital records that have made its government a best-practices showcase. But not all of them are easily transferable to the United States.

To begin, everybody in Estonia has a unique national identification number, similar to a social security number. "Your vote is tied to your personal Identification number but kept away from the prying eyes of politicians and election officials, unless there’s a certain incident where they have to see what happened in one precinct or another. In any case, it’s secure," Erki Kodar, Undersecretary for Legal and Admin Affairs at the Estonian Defense Ministry, said during a recent visit to his country’s embassy in Washington, D.C.

Legal doping: Cannabis in beer experiencing a high in Germany
[The Local de] Beer with cannabis is experiencing a high in Germany. And it can be produced within the law, as long as the THC content - the active ingredient in cannabis - doesn’t exceed legal limits. We spoke to the brewers making hemp beer.

For a short while on the island of Usedom in the Baltic Sea, small-brewer Jan Fidora has been brewing beer with cannabis. He successfully advertises as "Mellenthiner Cannabis" and the 1000 litres he brewed in autumn sold out in almost three weeks.

He has since announced that he will triple his production in 2019. But the brewer doesn’t see himself as the trailblazer for the controversial legalisation of cannabis. In fact, the hotelier and brewer asserts that he is against drugs.

Lindsey Graham: We'll have a new attorney general soon…
[Right Scoop] Lindsey Graham made a prediction this morning on the Hugh Hewitt Show, saying that Sessions will step down after the elections and that we’ll have a new AG soon thereafter:

’ve said before that while I generally support Sessions, it’s clear he doesn’t have the president’s support and for that reason alone he needs to step down. The friction has been going on too long, just like the Russia investigation that has come to pretty much nothing. No matter how good a job Sessions feels he’s doing, he should step down after the election is over and allow Trump to have an AG he supports.

No idea who that might be, but it won’t be Lindsey Graham according to what he said above. And also, I do like he’s still talking about Kavanaugh. The Democrats sure have stopped talking about him ‐ perhaps because they’ve been exposed as frauds.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Attkisson: CIA Under Brennan Spied on USCITS (US Citizens) Intel Whistleblowers, Congress
[Breitbart] Investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson writes in the Hill that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been using its surveillance on American citizens "for the better part of two decades, if not longer."

"Maybe you once thought the CIA wasn’t supposed to spy on Americans here in the United States," said the Emmy-winning investigative journalist. "That concept is so yesteryear." She points to newly declassified 2014 documents which "reveal the CIA not only intercepted emails of U.S. citizens, but they were emails of the most sensitive kind," namely about whistleblowers:

The disclosures, kept secret until now, are two letters of "congressional notification" from the Intelligence Community inspector general at the time, Charles McCullough. He stated that during "routine counterintelligence monitoring of government computer systems," the CIA collected emails between congressional staff and the CIA’s head of whistleblowing and source protection.

McCullough was concerned about the "potential compromise to whistleblower confidentiality, and the consequent ’chilling effect’ that the present [counterintelligence] monitoring system might have on Intelligence Community whistleblowing."

French Citizens Aren't Particularly Happy To Be The Ones To Pay For ‘Climate Change' Initiatives
PARIS (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron said he would not back down from a hike in fuel tax, despite plans for nationwide protests this month and his personal popularity reaching a new low.

Drivers are planning blockades and go-slows across France on Nov. 17 to protest against higher fuel prices, which have increased by up to a third in the past year, making Macron’s claim to help hard-working people harder to defend.

In a bid to fight climate change, his government has voted increases in a carbon tax and decided in particular to ramp up the price of diesel, the most commonly used car fuel in France.

But the increases, decided in late 2017 at a time crude oil prices were hovering under $50 per barrel, have become more painful for consumers after oil surged to over $85 last month. The issue has helped drive Macron’s popularity to as low as 21 percent in a poll published last week.

The president, who has launched a seven-day tour of northeastern France, said he has no plan to back down.

"I prefer taxing fuel to taxing labor. People complaining about rising fuel prices are the same ones who complain about pollution and how their children suffer," he told regional newspapers in the area, in an interview published on Monday.

Caravaners Are Suing Trump. Apparently, America's Constitution Was Written For The World
[Barley a Blog] If the following reality is not proof we Americans don’t have a country, I don’t know what is. If caravaners can sue Americans; Americans don’t have a country.
"Migrant caravan members sue Trump over proposed border policies." Read:
Central American migrants who are part of the caravan traveling toward the U.S.-Mexico border have filed a class action lawsuit against President Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and other members of the administration.

In the lawsuit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, six Honduran migrants and their children argue that Trump cannot legally stop them from seeking asylum in the United States.

The migrants allege that Trump and his administration are violating the due process clause of the Fifth Amendment, which prohibits the federal government from denying anyone life, liberty or property without due process of law.
If these scofflaws are given standing to bring such a lawsuit in an American court, know that the birthright of Americans has been frittered away by treacherous elites.

Caravan splits up, rips Mexico for directing migrants toward 'route of death'
[Wash Times] ISLA, Mexico ‐ A 4,000-strong caravan of Central American migrants traveling through Mexico split up into several groups with one spending the night in a town in the coastal state of Veracruz and other migrants continuing toward the country’s capital.

The divisions came during a tense day in which tempers flared and some migrants argued with caravan organizers and criticized Mexican officials. They were upset that Veracruz Gov. Miguel Angel Yunes had reneged on an offer late Friday to provide buses on Saturday to leapfrog the migrants to Mexico City.

The migrants trekked to the town of Isla, about 700 miles (1,126 kilometers) south of the U.S. border, where several thousand stopped to rest, eat and receive medical attention. They planned to spend the night there before departing at 5 a.m. Sunday en route to the town of Cordoba.

But other migrants, mainly men and the younger members of the group, kept on walking or hitching rides toward Puebla and Mexico City. They hunkered down for the night in Juan Rodriguez Clara or Tierra Blanca farther along the route.

"We think that it is better to continue together with the caravan. We are going to stay with it and respect the organizers," Luis Euseda, a 32-year-old from Tegucigalpa, Honduras who is traveling with his wife Jessica Fugon, said in Isla. "Others went ahead, maybe they have no goal, but we do have a goal and it is to arrive."

#3  Respect the organizers or we won't get our MasterCards....Soros is providing the migrants with food, clothing, new strollers, new shoes, medical care through Humanity Ventures because they don't have access to services until they cross the border. Using the UNHCR, he did the same in Europe. Beto's campaign learned how to circumvent our laws, too. What more proof of subversion do we need? Sanction him for restitution to the American taxpayers who are funding at a minimum 25% of the UN budget.

Obama closes out campaign by talking about himself 89 times during Chicago appearance
[American Mirror] Barack Obama is ending the midterm campaign by the way he started: Talking about himself.

A lot.

During a Sunday appearance in Chicago, the former president referred to himself no fewer than 89 times during a roughly 46-minute speech.

"First of all, you notice my throat is a little iffy," Obama began, lamenting about the amount of campaigning he’s been doing this season.

Noting he was trying to sing backstage with an opening act, Obama said, "I realize now I’m not a professional singer."

Being back in Chicago, he said, "I have some amazing friends I haven’t seen in a while."

He couldn’t help but talk about his own election a decade ago, saying it was 10 years to the night that he had "a small event in Grant Park, and you had just elected me the 44th President of the United States."

"The victory didn’t belong to me, it belonged to you," he claimed.

Recalling his time in office, he said Republicans left him a mess, "And I had to grab a broom."

Talking about a previous campaign stop earlier in the day, he said, "I was telling some folks in Gary (Indiana), you know, Michelle come home and I’m like, doing the dishes. And Michelle be like, and I’m like, look honey, I’m doing the dishes. And she went ’Boy, you haven’t done the dishes in a month. What did you do wrong?’ Cause she knows I’m trying to put some spin on something."

How The Central American Caravan Could Lead To A U.S. Refugee Crisis Like Europe's
[The Federalist] The Washington Post recently published an insidious analysis comparing Trump’s caravan rhetoric to right-wing populists "making up stories" and "stoking fear" during the European refugee crisis.

The article began by disparaging what the author believes to be unsubstantiated claims that the approaching caravan from Central America is an "invasion" and "terrorism risk," as President Trump has described. According to the author, there’s "no better way for populists to win an election than by announcing a national emergency that plays into voters’ fears."

It’s quite startling that a journalist would completely discard the horrific events that culminated during the extended, and at times fatal, refugee crisis across Europe. In 2015 and 2016, there were more than 2.3 million illegal crossings recorded across the European Union, with Germany absorbing more than 1 million foreign citizens in 2015 alone.

While the encroaching caravan south of our border may seem miniscule in comparison, the mass exodus of people from Northern Africa and the Middle East to Europe did not transpire overnight either. The first signs of the preceding European crisis began in January 2015, after a ship abandoned by smugglers was rescued off the coast of Italy with only 360 Syrians on board.

The Dems are Mad as Hell
[American Thinker] A few seconds of frustrated political rage in the 1976 movie Network drove the words "I’m mad as Hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!" into our national collective consciousness. Most Democrats seem to feel that way; they’ve been mad for two years.

Howard Beale Mad.

So mad, that the very name of Trump causes most Democrats to sputter, many coming to full froth within two sentences.

It’s not a surprise we see this consistent reaction of rage and hatred coming from the Democratic Party leadership, or the leftist mainstream media. The entire group of them does hate Trump, and their pogrom to destroy him has been ramping up into our discourse since Trump declared his candidacy. I think most of us know that they hate us, as well.

My take is simple. This has been a coordinated effort on the left to take Trump out. Destroy him, and his family. Sadly, it has taken over the left. Its main success has been keeping most on the center-left filled with 24/7 hate. I originally thought they would eventually have to pull back from this effort. I couldn’t imagine that they would still be developing and making up new reasons to hate Trump several times a week for two years.

"Paranoia": Dems Starting To Worry About Blowing The Midterms; NBC: Early Vote Totals "Stunning"
[Hot Air] Just remember, it’s not paranoia if they’re really out to get you. In this case, though, it’s likelier to be paranoia than prophecy. The Daily Beast reports on the existential angst facing progressives if they come up short in their bid to win the House:

Let’s say they do lose this opportunity. It might be "shattering" for progressives like Tanden the CPA because of their insistence that Democrats had to embrace a hard-Left agenda to become competitive. It would spell the end of Nancy Pelosi’s career, one of their House champions, and it might force her entire slate of leadership to give way to more moderate leaders from the Midwest and Rust Belt, where Democrats have had trouble competing. They might need to rethink their DNC leadership too, but Democrats won’t be "paralyzed" any more than Republicans were after losing in 2006 and 2008.

Maxine Waters: Violent Protests ‘Make America Better', Republicans Should ‘Feel Uncomfortable'
[Townhall] Over the weekend, California Representative Maxine Waters once again defended her public statements encouraging her supporters to harass and assault their political opponents in mobs. During a Saturday appearance on the "Roland Martin Unfiltered" web show, Waters insisted that such protests "make America better" because protestors are fighting for "justice and equality for everybody."

Rather than deny that she has been encouraging violent behavior against Republicans, Waters justified such tactics by claiming that the very nature of protests is to make their targets "feel uncomfortable":
"I told someone the other day who is trying to say that we are violent when we protest: Protest is about making you feel uncomfortable. I’m not supposed to come to you and say: May I protest you?

[Roland Martin and staff laugh]

"No! Absolutely not. If your heart tells you that this is what you need to do because you see some injustice ‐that you see people who are creating, you know, a terrible time and pain for others ‐ and you want to protest to try and make change, to try and make it right, then speak what your heart is telling you to do."

Waters continued by lauding her concept of protests as a patriotic tradition and expression of American identity that has made our country a better place over the years:

SWIFT network suspends Iran banks as US sanctions take force
[IsraelTimes] Brussels-based system says ’regrettable’ step ’taken in the interest of the stability and integrity of the wider global financial system’

The SWIFT banking network, the backbone for international monetary transfers, said Monday it has suspended several Iranian banks from its service, after the United States reimposed nuclear sanctions on Tehran.

"In keeping with our mission of supporting the resilience and integrity of the global financial system as a global and neutral service provider, SWIFT is suspending certain Iranian banks’ access to the messaging system," it said.

"This step, while regrettable, has been taken in the interest of the stability and integrity of the wider global financial system."

SWIFT, the Belgian-based Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, provides banks with a secure messenger network to allow international transfers.

Without its services, Iranian banks will find it more difficult to do business with any client prepared to brave US sanctions to maintain ties with Tehran.

Some US sanctions on Iranian banks and oil exports had been suspended after Iran signed a landmark 2105 deal with six world powers to curtail its nuclear ambitions.

But these came back into effect Monday after President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
pulled out of the accord and demanded that the world again turn up the economic heat on Tehran.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said waivers would be issued to allow eight countries to buy Iranian oil, but that otherwise the measures would be "relentless."

This could mean European and other banks and businesses face secondary sanctions if Washington deems them in breach of sanctions, and US officials have been pressing SWIFT to act.

The network connects 11,000 banks and financial institutions in 200 countries and territories, while prizing itself on taking a neutral political stance.

It does not hold or manage client funds, but allows the banks to transfer funds by sending messages across the network.

US to exempt China, India, Japan from Iran oil sanctions

[IsraelTimes] The United States will exempt China, India and Japan from oil sanctions on Iran, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Monday, while vowing to be "relentless" in pressuring Tehran.

Pompeo listed eight countries that will enjoy temporary waivers from a ban on all oil transactions with Iran: China, India, Italia, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
Pompeo vows the US will be "relentless" in pressuring Iran.

MMA to stage 'million march' in Karachi on Thursday against Asia Bibi's acquittal
[DAWN] The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) on Monday said it plans to hold a 'million march' in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
on Thursday against the Supreme Court's recent acquittal of Asia Bibi ‐ a Christian woman who was previously condemned to death on blasphemy charges by lower courts.

Last Wednesday, the apex court, in a landmark judgement, had accepted Asia Bibi's appeal against her sentence, following which several religiopolitical parties had taken to the streets to protest, which at some places had escalated into riots.

A day later, JUI-Fazl Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman
Deobandi holy man, known as Mullah Diesel during the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty ...
, whose party is one of several that constitutes the multi-party MMA alliance, had announced that a 'million march' would be held in the port city, where he said "the future strategy" on the issue would be chalked out.

Rehman's party today recapitulated their plans, urging party workers to gather at Shahrah-e-Quaideen on November 8.

Thursday's march will be Rehman's second major political event after he headed a rally in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
last Friday.

In the Peshawar rally, the JUI-F head had held the PTI government responsible for the turmoil in the wake of the SC's verdict, and announced that his countrywide agitation would continue until the government was ousted.

China unveils their copy of Russian Kornet ATGM
China North Industries Corporation (Norinco) has released promo video ahead of the AirShow China 2018 exhibition, which is set to take place in that southern Chinese city from 6–11 November.

Released footage is showing the company’s latest capabilities included new man-portable anti-tank guided missile system.

The new Norinco’s man-portable anti-tank guided missile system is modelled to resemble that of the Russian-made Kornet tank-killer missiles. New Chinese missile, just as Kornet, has semi-automatic command-to-line-of-sight laser beamriding guidance, flying along the line of sight to engage the target head on in a direct attack profile.

Chinese missile intended for use against tanks, including those fitted with explosive reactive armour (ERA), fortifications, entrenched troops as well as small-scale targets.

The system breaks down into a number of modules: a folding tripod mount, a launch tube which encased missiles are inserted into the rear of, a mandatory daysight tracker unit, and a traversing unit which mounts into the tripod and carries the launch tube and sight, and also includes the weapon’s trigger and the bridging clamp which mates with the missile’s umbilical data connector.

According to video, a new anti-tank system equipped with infrared cameras for night time use.

The system enables one person to detect a target, aim, fire a missile, track and defeat the target.

Owing to its modular design, the launcher can be placed on a wide range of wheeled and tracked vehicles using a bracket.

Afghanistan
Taliban horse-trade for body of police chief killer
[DAWN] The Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
is demanding the body of an assassin who rubbed out a powerful Afghan police chief, in return for the remains of 13 people killed in an army helicopter crash in territory controlled by the turbans.

Tribal elders in the restive western province of Farah bordering Iran have been handling negotiations for the exchange of bodies for nearly a week.

So far only 12 of the 25 people killed in the helicopter accident in Taliban-controlled Anar Dara district on October 31 have been given to Afghan authorities.

Officials blamed bad weather for the crash, but the Taliban claimed its fighters brought down the aircraft.

"We want to hand over the bodies from the helicopter crash to their respective families via the International Committee for the Red Thingy, but on condition that the enemy hand over the body of martyred fighter Zabihullah Abu Dajana, who killed Commander Abdul Raziq, to his family," Taliban front man Qari Yousuf Ahmadi said in WhatsApp message.

Among the bodies returned were those of provincial councillor Jamila Amini, civilians and businessmen, Farah governor front man Nasir Mehri told AFP.

"No military officials have been recovered yet," Mehri said.

Farah police front man Mohibullah Mohib confirmed that 12 bodies had been recovered thanks to the efforts of tribal elders.

"The rest of them are still with the enemy," he added.

The bodies still in Taliban hands include those of the deputy army corps commander for western Afghanistan and the head of the Farah provincial council.

Mosques seek Twitter ban on Dutch populist Geert Wilders
It is forbidden under Sharia law for unbelievers to criticize Islam.
[La Belle France24] A body representing 144 Ottoman Turkish mosques in the Netherlands has asked Twitter to block the account of anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders for inciting hatred.

The Ottoman Turkish Islamic Cultural Federation (TICF) sent the letter on Friday seeking "a permanent ban of the Twitter of Mr. Geert Wilders... due to continuous publications on his Twitter account of messages, images and other content which is a display of hateful conduct."

It said Wilders' tweets breached Twitter's guidelines, adding: "His hate messages are being spread worldwide thanks to the platform and abilities Twitter provides him".

In a tweet in September last year, Wilders had called Prophet Mohammed a "paedophile, mass murderer, terrorist and madman."

"We reserve the right to take any legal actions and measures necessary if you will not take action as requested within 21 days after this," it said.

TICF's lawyer Ejder Kose told AFP on Monday they would take legal action if nothing was done.

"Going to court is the last thing we want to do but if we have to, we'll do it," Kose said.

Kose said many of Wilders' tweets breached laws in several countries including Tunisia, Morocco, Pakistain and Indonesia.

The far-right leader of the PVV party in August cancelled a Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest that had angered many Moslems around the world.

Wilders reacted to the move on Twitter, calling the demand for a ban on his account "madness."

Yemen: Fighting flares near Hodeidah despite calls for peace
[Al Jazeera] Thousands of Yemeni civilians are trapped on the southern outskirts of the Red Sea port of Hodeidah as forces backed by a Saudi-led coalition battle Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
faceless myrmidons entrenched in the city, aid groups said.

The alliance has massed thousands of Yemeni troops in recent days near the heavily defended port despite recent calls from international leaders for an end to the country's ongoing conflict, which has unleashed the world's "worst humanitarian crisis".

Rebels and government officials reported intense battles on Monday near the western port city, according to AFP news agency.

"All the people living between the airport and the university are trapped, the last four days have been very tough, it is beyond catastrophic levels," Isaac Ooko, Hodeidah area manager for the Norwegian Refugee Council, told Rooters news agency.

"Air strikes have been very intense and the hovering of the jets causes permanent anxiety ... Hodeidah has become a ghost city, people stay indoors and the streets are deserted."

Yemeni military officials told AFP that government forces backed by the US-supported Saudi-UAE military coalition advanced on Houthi-held Hodeidah and positioned themselves around both the north and south of the city in a bid to surround it and block a major rebel supply route.

"Hundreds of Jews" contact gun-training academy after Pittsburgh attack
[Observer/La Belle France24] Hundreds of Jewish people in America have rushed to undertake training to learn how to shoot, after an attack on a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA on October 27 that killed 11 people. A private company offering "Israeli tactical shooting techniques" has been inundated with hundreds of requests in the days following the shooting.

"There is no question that Jews are under threat in America. Would you say to soldiers on the front line, 'just lay down your guns and let the enemy kill you?' No. So Jews need to be armed," said Yonatan Stern, the founder of Cherev Gidon Israeli Tactical Training Academy, which offers classes in Pennsylvania and Arizona. Stern, a former officer of the Israel Defense Forces, created the academy six years ago, predicting, he says, that there would be attacks on the Jewish community in the United States.

The shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh was the deadliest attack on Jews in America’s history. Stern says that his organization has received more requests for training from Jews in the days since the attack than in the entire time the academy has been running.

Normally, the academy offers training with different firearms ‐ rifles, pistols, shotguns and Uzi submachine guns ‐ from a basic level to advanced. But since the shooting, Cherev Gidon has focused primarily on a specific course that deals with how to respond to an active shooter in a synagogue. The course teaches many of the same skills that are taught in other classes, but with added situational details: how to immobilise an attacker in a location where there are a lot of civilians packed into a crowded space, for example.

Stern thinks that it is vital for the Jewish population in the United States to be armed.
The article continues with quotes and tweets on the subject.

For whatever reason, a good part of Jewish mentality is to embrace what will kill them.

Armed Black Panthers Lobby for Democrat Gubernatorial Candidate Stacey Abrams
[BREITBART] Breitbart News has obtained photographs of members of the New Black Panther Party wielding weapons and holding signs supporting Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, a leftist who hopes to be the first black female governor in Georgia.

This comes on the heels of Oprah Winfrey’s visit to the state on Abrams behalf where she said the Democrat refuses to allow the sacrifices of those who were "lynched" and "oppressed" to be "in vain."

The photos show the men, dressed all in black, with the Black Panther logo on their clothing and holding weapons.

Abrams opponent, Republican Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, will be the focus of a rally today in Georgia where President Donald Trump

Iran claims to thwart Stuxnet-style Israeli cyberattack
[IsraelTimes] Information minister says a regime with ’a record of using cyber weapons’ attempted to damage communication infrastructure but ’returned empty-handed’

Iran accused Israel on Monday of launching a cyberattack against its communications systems, and said it thwarted the hostile effort.

"A regime whose record in using cyber weapons is clear from cases such as Stuxnet has tried this time to damage Iran’s communication infrastructure," said Information Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi on his Twitter account.

He was referring to the Stuxnet virus, discovered in 2010 and believed to have been engineered by Israel and the United States, which damaged nuclear facilities in Iran.

"Thanks to vigilance of the technical teams, they returned empty-handed. We will follow up this hostile action through international forums," Jahromi said.

His deputy, Hamid Fattahi, said technical teams had intercepted multiple attempts to infiltrate their systems early on Monday, which had been "strongly warded off."

Last Wednesday, an Israeli TV report said that Iranian infrastructure and strategic networks had come under attack in the preceding few days by a computer virus similar to Stuxnet but "more violent, more advanced and more sophisticated," but that Israeli officials were refusing to discuss what role, if any, they may have had in the operation.

Sisi: We want Egypt to return to what it was before January 2011
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi warned of attempts to achieve change by force and voiced hope to take the Egyptian state back to how it was before January 25, 2011.

"Change by force (means) opening the gates of hell. There was a phase in Egypt when all we cared about was returning to the situation we had before January 25, 2011," Sisi said during a youth forum held in Sharm El Sheikh.

"Everyone wishes that the Egyptian state goes back to how it was before January 25, 2011," he added.

Sisi also warned that Egypt was a "candidate for national suicide" noting that efforts during the past five years to restore stability and peace to the Egyptian state were unprecedented.

The president added that Egypt thwarted foreign countries’ attempts to interfere in its affairs.

"The careless activity ‐ and I won’t say conspiracy ‐ which Egypt witnessed during the past years opened the gates of hell on the country," he said.

"Mobilizing the youths and the public opinion to change societies by force may get out of control and it may result in a huge vacuum that may (lead) local and foreign powers to interfere in the state’s affairs and topple institutions," Sisi said.

Sisi also said that the financial, moral and political costs which countries that witness conflicts have endured have been much more than expected, adding that the economic reforms that are currently underway in Egypt are the largest in its modern history.

Sisi also slammed attempts to incite chaos saying they allowed terrorist groups that have been in Egypt for a while to use arms.

"Terrorist groups have the willingness to take over power using weapons," he said, adding that the Egyptian experience in confronting terrorism and extremism confirms that building social peace shields the country from conflicts.

"Even if former rulers were not good, do not be fooled by slogans which lead to loss," Sisi said and called on people to work and be patient so their countries "are not lost".

"If you destroy your country, (you) will not restore it. Afghanistan has not been the same since 50 years, and millions have been killed in Syria and Iraq," he added.

Turkish inflation hits 25 percent in October, highest in 15 years
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Ottoman Turkish annual inflation surged to 25 percent in October, official data showed on Monday, hitting its highest in 15 years and underscoring the sustained impact of a currency crisis as the wider economy loses pace.

Month-on-month, consumer prices jumped 2.67 percent, the Ottoman Turkish Statistical Institute data showed, higher than the 2.0 percent forecast in a Rooters poll.

In the wake of a lira slide, the government has cut its growth forecasts and investors say The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
might record negative GDP growth in the coming quarters, discouraging any central bank move to hike rates in response to high inflation.

"I think the CBRT would be loathed to have to increase policy rates again if the inflation data continues to disappoint as this will just make the recession deeper," said Timothy Ash, a strategist at Blue Bay Asset Management.

"They will assume, rightly, that deflation and recession will eventually do the trick on inflation. But they need time."

The lira weakened to 5.4740 against the dollar by 0820 GMT from 5.43 beforehand. The currency has recently recovered some losses from a sell-off driven by concerns over central bank ability adequately respond to rising inflation and deteriorating ties with Washington.

Producer prices rose 0.91 percent month-on-month in October for an annual rise of 45.01 percent. Core inflation surged 24.34 annually.

October inflation was driven by a 12.74 percent month-on-month surge in clothing and shoe prices and a 4.15 percent rise in housing prices, the data showed.

Ex-Brazil President Lula calls for release, accuses judge of bias
[Al Jazeera] Former Brazil President Luiz Inacio "Lula" da Silva has challenged his corruption conviction, arguing that the judge behind his conviction has "proven his bias" by accepting a cabinet post under a political rival.

The petition filed on Monday with Brazil's highest court asks Lula, who is currently serving a 12-year sentence, to be freed and his conviction overturned.

Lula's plea came days after president-elect Jair Bolsonaro announced Judge Sergio Moro as the next justice minister of the South American country.

Lula's lawyers have long argued that Moro was biased and that charges against the former president were trumped up to keep him from running for the post again.

Lula was leading the run-up to the deeply polarised election this year, but his conviction in a corruption case prevented him from running.

Brazil's "Clean Slate" law forbids people with serious criminal convictions from standing for office within eight years of being found guilty.

Indian villagers crush tigress to death after she killed man
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Villagers in northern India have crushed a tigress to death with a tractor after she killed a man, officials said Monday.

Forest officer Mahavir Kaujlagi said that villagers had circled around the tigress after it killed a man working on farmland late Sunday. When the tigress tried to escape, the villagers crushed it under the wheels of a tractor.

Villagers say the tigress also injured a youth in an attack about 10 days ago.

The village is inside the core zone of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in Lakhimpur Khiri area, some 250 kilometers (155 miles) southeast of Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh.

Killing a tiger in protected areas is illegal, and the reserve’s director, Ramesh Pandey, said a case under the Wildlife Protection Act would be registered with police against the offenders.

In April, villagers in the state’s Nighasan area beat up a tiger, causing serious injuries to the big cat.

The tiger is India’s national animal and it is categorized as endangered under the Wildlife Protection Act.

Government data last year showed at least one person killed per day in conflict with a wild tiger or elephant for the previous three years.

The human conflict with tigers has gradually increased since the 1970s, when India started a tiger conservation program that carved out sanctuaries in national parks and made it a crime to kill a big cat. Though methods for counting tigers have changed, a census suggests the population of about 1,800 tigers then grew to 2,226 in 2014.

11yo suspected of fatally shooting grandmother, himself over cleaning his room
[RT] An 11-year-old boy is believed to have fatally shot his 65-year-old grandmother and then himself after he was asked to clean his room, according to Arizona police.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call from a man in Litchfield Park claiming his grandson killed his wife before turning the gun on himself just after 5pm on Saturday, reports the Arizona Daily Independent.

Doyle Hebert said the couple had full custody of the boy and claims he snapped after the child’s grandmother, Yvonne Woodard, repeatedly asked him to clean his room and pick up after himself throughout the day.

Hebert alleges that his grandson shot Woodard in the back of the head after they had sat down to watch TV. He claims that after his wife was shot, he chased his grandson briefly before returning to help her, which is when he heard the second gunshot and watched his grandson take a few steps before falling to the ground.

Sergeant Joaquin Enriquez told KTVK that the gun belonged to Hebert, and the boy had shown no previous signs of violence or self-harm. An investigation is ongoing.

'Govt will always defend blasphemy laws'
[DAWN] Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri defended the government's act of entering into a deal with Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) leaders for ending their protest sit-ins over the Supreme Court verdict in Asia Bibi case.

Speaking during the session, the minister, who was a signatory to the agreement, said the government had not used force to disperse the protesters as per the desire of the opposition parties.

He said Prime Minister Khan was constantly in touch with them from China and had also instructed them to resolve the matter peacefully.

He recalled that the previous government of the PML-N had also signed a deal with the same protesters (during the Faizabad sit-in), but it was signed after three weeks and after its law minister resigned. In contrast, he said, the PTI government had succeeded in reaching an agreement in three days and without any resignation.

Qadri stressed that the PTI-led government "will always defend Section 295-C of blasphemy laws".

He said the speech of Prime Minister Khan about the establishment of writ of the state in the country was a policy and it would be implemented during its five-year tenure.

"There is a need to formulate a long-term strategy to avoid such a situation [in the future]," the minister said.

Serial killer Andrew Urdiales found dead on San Quentin's death row
[KGTV10} A serial killer and former Camp Pendleton Marine who was sentenced to the death penalty may have killed himself at San Quentin State Prison Friday, prison officials said.

Andrew Urdiales, 54, was found unresponsive during a security check of his cell late Friday night, according to staff members. Correctional officers performed CPR but Urdiales was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

An autopsy will be performed but his death is being investigated as a suicide, officials said. An Orange County jury sentenced Urdiales to death one month ago for the murders of five women in San Diego, Mission Viejo, Palm Springs, and Cathedral City in the 1980s and 90s. Urdiales had been previously convicted of killing three Illinois women in the 1990s.

Urdiales' victim in San Diego, 31-year-old Maryann Wells, was shot in the head in a deserted industrial complex on Second Ave. in downtown San Diego in 1988. Investigators said Urdiales had sex with Wells then took back the $40 he had paid her. Urdiales left behind a condom that eventually provided a DNA link, implicating him in the case.

Strategy being made to curb violent protests, hate speech: minister
[DAWN] Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said the government is preparing a strategy to tackle violent protests and hate speech on sensitive religious issues "without flexing state muscles".

"The interior ministry has been given a task to devise a comprehensive strategy to ensure that no violent protests take place on roads and common people’s lives and properties are protected," he told a news conference at PID office here on Monday.

Lauding opposition parties’ maturity in the wake of violent protests across the country following Aasia Bibi’s acquittal in a blasphemy case, Mr Chaudhry said the growing problem of violent protests on sensitive religious issues would be tackled as a part of national security in consultation with the opposition parties.

He said the federal and provincial governments were busy identifying miscreants who damaged public and private properties and injured people during the three-day countrywide protest last week.

Regretting that the miscreants under the garb of religion burnt private vehicles and even humiliated women, he said: "All provincial governments are required to compensate the damages caused to common people’s properties and physical injuries." The Centre would also extend assistance to the provincial governments, he added.

UK announces joint Omani-British military training base
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Britannia announced on Monday it would open a joint military training base in Oman in March 2019 as it looks to bolster its relationships with allies in the region.

Defense secretary Gavin Williamson announced the British-Omani training base as he visited the country to observe the end of a large-scale joint military exercise involving thousands of personnel practicing desert combat.

"Our relationship with Oman is built on centuries of cooperation and we are cementing that long into the future with the opening of our new joint base," Williamson said in a statement released by his department.

"This has never been more important as malign activity by hostile states and violent murderous Moslem organizations seek to undermine stability and subvert the rules based order on which we all rely."

Earlier this year, Britannia also opened a permanent military base in Bahrain.

Williamson also signaled in meetings with Omani leaders his intent to sign a new bilateral agreement early next year, which would cover enhanced defense ties and broader cooperation, the Ministry of Defense said.

Louis Farrakhan Chants ‘Death to America’ in Iran
Such a lovely man, that friend of the Clintons and the Democratic party muckety-mucks.
[BREITBART] Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan led a chant of "Death to America!" on a solidarity visit to Iran this weekend, according to Iranian news sources. He also led a chant of "Death to Israel!"

Farrakhan visited Iran ahead of the renewal of U.S. sanctions against the regime at midnight on November 5. The renewed sanctions are the result of the American withdrawal from the agreement negotiated by the B.O. regime, which purported to prevent Iran’s development of nuclear weapons but merely delated it.

The Algemeiner, a Jewish community newspaper based in the U.S., reported on Farrakhan’s visit, citing reports in the Iranian media.

The "semi-official state news agency" Mehr reported:

Louis Farrakhan made the remarks in a meeting with the Secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei in Tehran on Sunday, during which he also called the United States a big liar.

Farrakhan expressed happiness with his visit to Iran, saying the goal of his visit is to demonstrate real friendship with Iran.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Slats grabbed for his rosco...
he said that the Americans have always been plotting against Iran and are seeking to create an internal enemy in Iran.

UK parliamentary body recognises 'Indian atrocities' in occupied Kashmir
[DAWN] A report compiled by a UK parliamentary body has recognised "the massive human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
violations and atrocities" committed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmire", DawnNewsTV reported on Monday.

The comprehensive report, prepared by the UK Parliament's All-Party Parliamentary Kashmire Group (APPKG), has highlighted "the draconian laws", including the Armed Forces Special Powers Act and Public Safety Act, "under the garb of which Indian occupation forces are committing human rights abuses in IoK with impunity".

On October 31, after the APPKG had released its report, Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal had termed the report's observations as an "indictment" of India's "gross human rights violations in the valley".

Radio Pakistain quoted Dr Faisal as saying that the APPKG report echoes the findings of the UN's OHCHR Report published on June 14.

The APPKG report "calls for an immediate ban on the use of pellet guns against innocent unarmed civilians" in the valley by the Indian army.

Furthermore, the report "condemns the illegal detentions, enforced disappearances" in occupied Kashmire, and calls for the "prosecution of Indian armed forces".

Somali Military Court Sentences Soldiers To Death For Killing
[RADIOSHABELLE] Somali Military Court has on Monday sentenced two members of armed forces to death for murder.

Mohammed Hashi Wasuge and Abdirizack Mohammed Jimale were found guilty of killing officer Said Mohammed Osman on 30th August at a military training center in Mogadishu.

Four witnesses have testified before the court on how Hashi carried out the murder and tried to escape but was disarmed and tossed in the calaboose
Please don't kill me!
by other officers.

Officer Abdirizack Mohammed Jimale also carried out the similar offense of killing by murdering officer Qeys Khalif Salad in Lower Shabelle base on 27th July.

The sentenced ex-soldiers can appeal the case if they not satisfied with the verdict according to the martial judges.

Cases of killing among members of armed forces is very rampant among Somali security agencies.

With hitman on the loose in Denmark, Iran shoots itself in the foot
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] News of Iranian regime’s hit man on the loose in Denmark shocked many when Iran is desperately struggling to show good behavior to win over Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
in its battle with stinging US sanctions.

Denmark has summoned Iran’s ambassador, Morteza Moradian, following the "liquidation" attempt by an Iranian intelligence agency, which the Nordic country’s foreign minister called "completely unacceptable." It seems foolish ordering a hit on opposition figures on European soil especially now.

Govt, opposition come to blows in NA as PPP lawmaker terms deal with protesters a 'surrender'
[DAWN] Members of the ruling Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) and the PPP on Monday exchanged hot words and nearly got into a physical altercation after the opposition criticised the agreement reached between the government and religiopolitical groups, who protested the acquittal of Asia Bibi for three days last week.

The fracas began after PPP MNA Shazia Marri termed the deal finalised between the government and protesters as a "surrender document", and in a taunting reference to Prime Minister Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who isn't your heaviest-duty thinker, maybe not even among the top five...
's surname (Niazi), compared the agreement to the surrender document signed by Gen A.A.K. Niazi that led to the creation of Bangladesh in 1971.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan objected to Marri's remarks and asked her to desist from ridiculing an entire clan or tribe for an individual's act. He said it was true that Gen Niazi had surrendered before Indian troops in 1971 but there are other Niazis who are "rendering great services and sacrifices for the nation".

Speaker Asad Qaiser interjected with a warning that no member would ridicule any tribe or clan in their speeches in the future.

However,
a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all...
when Marri insisted she was actually mentioning the name of Gen Niazi and that she would continue to do so, a number of treasury backbenchers stood up and lodged a noisy protest to prevent the PPP politician from continuing her speech.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Alamo, Davy was counting their remaining cannon balls and not liking the results...
a PPP MNA from Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
, Syed Rafiullah, and PTI's MNA from Layyah Abdul Majeed Khan exchanged some hot words.

Getting angry over some remarks uttered by Khan, which could not be heard in the galleries due to noise, Rafiullah was seen charging towards the PTI MNA, but he was physically stopped by a number of politicians.

The speaker called the sergeants-at-arms to expel both members from the house. However,
a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all...
after failing to control the situation, he adjourned the sitting till Tuesday morning.

Aasia lawyer holds EU, UN responsible for his Pakistan exit
[DAWN] The lawyer who saved Aasia Bibi convicted of blasphemy from death row disclosed on Monday that the UN and EU made him leave the country "against my wishes" because his life was at risk.

Saiful Mulook, who has fled to the Netherlands, said he contacted a United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
official in Islamabad after violence erupted like lava from a volcano following the Supreme Court’s acquittal of Aasia Bibi on Wednesday.

"And then they (the UN) and the European nation ambassadors in Islamabad, they kept me for three days and then put me on a plane against my wishes," the lawyer told a presser in The Hague.

"I pressed them that I would not leave the country unless I get Aasia out of the prison... I am not happy to be here without her, but everybody said that you are the prime target at the moment and the whole world is taking care of Aasia Bibi.

"They were of the view that I was the prime target to be killed, and that my life was in imminent danger. For three days they did not let me open the door, one day I called the French ambassador and said I do not want to be here." The lawyer had previously said before his departure on Saturday that he was leaving because "in the current scenario, it’s not possible for me to live in Pakistain".

Mr Mulook arrived in The Hague at the weekend after a short stopover in Rome, with the help of the HVC Foundation, a Dutch group that focuses on the human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
of Christian minorities.

The government struck a deal with the Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) group after its supporters blocked main roads in major Pak cities in protest against the court judgement.

Mr Mulook dismissed the deal as a "face-saving" exercise for the TLP and insisted that Aasia would "100 per cent" be freed soon.

"This compromise is nothing but a piece of paper that can be thrown in the dustbin," he said.

It was not clear whether Aasia had had any firm offers of asylum if she left Pakistain, added the lawyer, who said he was "legally authorised" to choose a country for her.

Fragile states
[DAWN] A SERIES of analyses undertaken by various groups provides food for thought on the topic of state stability. For instance, recent findings of the London School of Economics-Oxford Commission on State Fragility, Growth and Development show that fundamental changes in governance are needed to transform politics and security. However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
earlier last month, we were told at the inaugural Pearson Global Forum in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
that to escape state fragility, effective, though gradual, checks and balances on power holders were needed.

The LSE-Oxford commission was co-chaired by former UK prime minister David Cameron
... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite, which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideological he lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger, but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ...
and former Pakistain civil servant Adnan Khan. According to Khan and his LSE colleague Tim Besley, the foundations of an effective democracy ‐ rule of law and protection of minorities ‐ were even more important than multiparty elections. "It is the careful choice of feasible steps that matters, rather than a grand vision that encourages an unsustainable leap," they emphasise.

They say that when internal violence takes hold of a divided society, domestic security forces ‐ police or military ‐ must act to defeat organised criminal violence but must still be "sufficiently subject to effective checks and balances that they cannot be used either for one group to intimidate another, or for undisciplined predatory behaviour against citizens".

The induction of new leaders provides a "pivotal moment". New circumstances can help reset political discussion as well as build trust.

Europe
France issues arrest warrants for three senior Syrian officials
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] La Belle France has issued international arrest warrants for three senior Syrian intelligence officials in connection with the deaths of two Franco-Syrian nationals, legal sources said Monday.

This is a first since the beginning of the revolution in Syria, in 2011, which caused a civil war.

Warrants were issued by an examining magistrate, in accordance with the prosecution’s submissions, on the counts of "complicity in acts of torture, complicity in enforced disappearances, complicity in crimes against humanity, and war crimes."

Among those prosecuted is Ali Mamlouk, the current director of National Security in Syria, and the man who oversees the entire Syrian security apparatus.

French newspaper Le Monde reported that the decision was not yet announced in La Belle France, and is part of a lawsuit that the French judiciary has been investigating since 2016, relating to issues of the forced disappearance of some Syrians carrying the French nationality.

The French judicial inquiry, which resulted in the arrest warrant for Mamlouk and others, was based on documents known as "Caesar", the Syrian photographer of the Assad army, who fled the country in 2013 carrying pictures of thousands of Syrians who were tortured or severely tortured in prisons the system.

The other two senior Syrian officials are Jameel al-Hassan, Syria's air force intelligence chief, and the head of air force intelligence in Bab Tuma, a Damascene area.

The French investigation was based on documents from a file known as "Ceasar", which exposed pictures of torturing techniques in Syrian prisons and pictures of citizens who died as a result of torture by the Syrian regime.

Syrian intelligence had tossed in the calaboose
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
Franco-Syrian Mazen Dabagh and his son Patrick in November 2013, after the two were participating in an anti-regime peaceful demonstration. The father and son were confirmed dead last August, after being tortured to death in Syrian prisons.

Mamlouk was previously accused of attempting to organize bombings in Leb in 2015 following the arrest of former Lebanese minister Michel Samaha with eplosives in his car brought in from Syria. Samaha had admitted that this was done in coordination with Mamlouk.

Iraqi-born Palestinian pleads guilty in US to fighting in Syria for Ansar al-Islam
[Rudaw] A Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, man who entered the United States as a refugee from Syria and then returned to fight pleaded guilty to charges of terrorism in a US court on Wednesday.

Aws Mohammed Younis al-Jayab, 25, told a federal court in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
that he flew to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
in November 2013 and then entered Syria. There he joined Ansar al-Islam.

"I wanted to do the right thing ... to defend the Syrian people," Jayab told US District Judge Sarah Ellis in broken English.

He returned to the United States in January 2014. In addition to joining the terror-listed organization, Jayab was accused of using social media to contact others about going to Syria.

He allegedly told an unnamed individual, "Hey man, please do not die: wait for me to come . . . Do you not want us to work together?"

The person replied in April 2013, "Of course." And al-Jayab allegedly wrote, "I do not want anything in the world, just to get to Syria safely and find you there . . . I am eager to see blood."

He was jugged
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
by US federal authorities in January 2016.

His attorney said after the hearing that Jayab wanted to help fight against Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
One of the last of the old-fashioned hereditary iron-fisted fascist dictators...
and argued for the case to go to trial; however, his client entered the guilty plea against his lawyer’s, Thomas Durkin advice.

Jayab faces a maximum sentence of 23 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for April 26, 2019.

He has been nicknamed the "hipster terrorist" because of his hair beard, and clothing.

Prosecutors had evidence claiming that he had written, "America will not isolate me from my Islamic duty."

OKC Man Arrested After Threat Of Mass Casualty Incident
[News9] OKLAHOMA CITY - A man who had been seen taking photographs at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum has been accused of threatening to kill by use of explosives.

Amiremad Nayebyazdi, 32, was arrested and booked Friday into the Oklahoma County Jail.

According to a police affidavit, an investigator was contacted on October 30 about a man taking photographs at the Oklahoma City National Memorial. He had been spotted at the Memorial on several occasions taking photographs "of unusual angles and places where people didn't normally take photographs."

A search of FBI documents didn't find anything derogatory on Nayebyazdi, but Oklahoma City Police records indicated arrests on suspicion of possession of controlled dangerous substances, driving under the influence, public intoxication and had been taken into custody in 2014 for a mental health evaluation.
Known wolf. Check.
Two days later, the investigator learned of a call that came in to Oklahoma City Police from somebody in California, who said that Nayebyazdi had left a message for his sister in Iran. Nayebyazdi allegedly told his sister that "hundreds are going to die in Oklahoma City. Something very large is going to happen. It will be on the news, and don't tell Mom and Dad until after it is seen on the news."

The caller had received the threat information from a mutual friend, both of whom had grown up with Nayebyazdi, according to police.

Later on November 1, police checked Nayebyazdi's vehicle for explosives, finding none. They then arrested him at his apartment on northwest Fifth Street.

During that arrest, according to the affidavit, Nayebyazdi admitted to police that he had told his sister that hundreds would die in Oklahoma City and that "something big was going to happen." Police then asked him specifically if he had planted any bombs at the National Memorial, and Nayebyazdi denied it.

Nayebyazdi acknowledged to police, according to the affidavit, that he was supposed to be on medication for mental issues but had not been taking his medication.
Oh lord, another Muslim nutter. This, boys and girls, is why it’s better not to have a 1500 year family history of close-cousin marriage.
Nayebyazdi was taken to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.

KAKEabc adds:
Police said Nayebryazdi has a degree in petroleum engineering and worked for an Oklahoma City oil company.

Police said they received a call on Nov. 1 from a concerned person in California, who said Nayebryazdi had left a recorded message for his sister in Iran. Police said the recorded message was "loosely translated" by the caller, who said Nayebryazdi told his sister that, "Hundreds are going to die in Oklahoma City, ..."

The caller said they received the information from a high school friend living in Germany. All three had grown up together.

Nayebryazdi also told police that he "hears things," and that he just told her this was going to happen. He said he had not made any explosive devices, according to police.

HRCP condemns TLP agreement, says govt failed to preserve state's writ
[DAWN] The Human Rights Commission of Pakistain (HRCP) has condemned the government's recent agreement with the Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) following the party's protests against the Supreme Court's acquittal of Asia Bibi.

Last week on Wednesday, the top court had set aside Asia Bibi's death sentence, declaring her innocent and ordered her immediate release from prison, where she had been locked up for nine years on blasphemy charges.

The verdict was followed by protests and sit-ins across the country by religio-political parties ‐ most prominently the TLP ‐ that continued for three days and disrupted life. The threatening language used by TLP's leaders was condemned by Prime Minister Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who isn't your heaviest-duty thinker, maybe not even among the top five...
as well as ministers, who vowed that the writ of the state would be upheld.

Late Friday, the government reached an agreement with TLP, in which it said that the state would "initiate legal process" to place Asia Bibi's name on the Exit Control List. The government also assured the TLP that it would not contest the review petition filed against the acquittal. In turn, the TLP offered an apology if it "hurt the sentiments or inconvenienced anyone without reason".

In a statement released on Sunday, the HRCP said it was "appalled at the government’s failure to preserve the writ of the state and the sanctity of the rule of law".

"What was hailed as a landmark judgement and a human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
victory unravelled into a situation in which there was no distinction between the peaceful right to dissent and the thuggery of mobs," the statement read.

"HRCP is seriously concerned at how quickly the government capitulated to the demands of murderous Moslem-led mobs, despite its earlier vow to preserve the writ of the state," it further said.

"The TLP called openly for murder and mutiny, made a mockery of the rule of law and fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution, and appears to have assumed all the while that its methods were legitimate means of dissent," the commission regretted.

The body urged the government to take a firm stance against elements "that have no qualms about employing violent, extra-constitutional means to have their way".

Researcher break SSD security codes
[TheRegister] Fundamental flaws in the encryption system used by popular solid-state drives (SSDs) can be exploited by miscreants to easily decrypt data, once they've got their hands on the equipment.

A paper [PDF] drawn up by researchers Carlo Meijer and Bernard van Gastel at Radboud University in the Netherlands, and made public today, describes these critical weaknesses. The bottom line is: the drives require a password to encrypt and decrypt their contents, however this password can be bypassed, allowing crooks and snoops to access ciphered data.

Basically, the cryptographic keys used to encrypt and decrypt the data are not derived from the owner's password, meaning, you can seize a drive and, via a debug port, reprogram it to accept any password. At that point, the SSD will use its stored keys to cipher and decipher its contents. Yes, it's that dumb.

The egghead duo tested three Crucial and four Samsung models of SSDs, and found them more or less vulnerable to the aforementioned attack. All of them tried, and failed, to securely implement the TCG Opal standard of encryption.

"The analysis uncovers a pattern of critical issues across vendors," according to the researchers. "For multiple models, it is possible to bypass the encryption entirely, allowing for a complete recovery of the data without any knowledge of passwords or keys."

In particular, the researchers said, the SSDs fail to link the owner's password to the actual data encryption key (DEK), both of which are stored in the drive. The SSD's builtin processor and firmware are free to use the DEK whenever they like, but only choose to do so when the correct password is supplied. If the firmware is reprogrammed or manipulated by someone with physical access to the device's debug ports, it can be made to skip the password stuff, and go straight to using the DEK.

Really, the DEK should in some way be derived from the owner's passphrase. No passphrase, no complete key. In reality, the SSDs cheat. What's more, many drives use a single DEK for the entire flash disk, even though they offer to secure different sections with different passwords.

In practice, the Radboud duo say they were able to decrypt the data on a number of SSDs simply by connecting to the drive's debug interface on its circuit board, and modify the password-checking routine in the firmware to accept any passphrase before accessing the DEK to encrypt or decrypt the device.

In other cases, the researchers could retrieve the keys by modifying the drive's firmware, or by exploiting a code injection vulnerability that would also allow an attacker to modify the password routine – both require physical access to the drive.

The implementations were fundamentally flawed!

The password was stored on the device and you merely needed to tell it to use the password.

It's like storing the key for your front door in a bag saying "do not open".

"We don't have rubber bullets", Army warns Shiite protesters
[PULSE.NG] The defence headquarters of the Nigerian Army has cautioned the members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) to be ready to face the consequences if they insist on taking on the military.

This follows the festivities that happened in Abuja last week where some members of the movement were killed by soldiers during protests. Many people, including four soldiers, also sustained injuries.

During an Interview on the Osasu Show with Osasu Igbinedion, Army spokesperson, Brigadier General John Agim, denied allegations that the military was sent to disrupt the procession of the movement, saying those accusing the military wanted to paint it bad.

He said, "There are different narratives out there that are not correct. It is not true that the military is being used to stop the Shi'ites from their normal procession.

"Right from 2015, we have been hearing about the issue of Shi’ites and the military. It has never been that the military was sent to stop whatever thing they are doing.

"The problem emanates from the philosophy that guides the movement. The clash that you see, in fact three times now, is that the Shi'ites obstruct the military from doing their job. They are a law unto themselves. They do anything.

"They are supposed to be a religious organization. Where did they get those arms and ammunition? This was how Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
started, in fact, it was not even as serious as this. The narrative is being given by an international community and it is very simple. They want to make the military look unprofessional.

"They have the right to protest. But when you protest, protest lawfully. Anybody that does not obey the laws of the land should be sanctioned."

Military warns IMN to act according to the constitution
When asked why the Shi'ites have been asked to obey the law even though the federal government has refused to obey a court order to release their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Elzakzaky, Agim stressed that the group should tackle their problem with the government constitutionally rather than attacking the military. He warned that there are consequences if the group insists on taking the military.

He said, "We don't have rubber bullets when we are sent on assignments. So, if any organization that is not happy with the government want to take on the military, then they should be ready for the consequence;

"Whatever the problem of the Shi'ites with the federal government, let them take it constitutionally. You take on any military in the world and you will be taken down" he said.

Palestinian tries to stab soldier in West Bank, is shot and lightly wounded
[IsraelTimes] A Paleostinian attempted to stab an Israeli soldier near the West Bank city of Hebron on Sunday and was shot by soldiers, the military said.

The IDF said the attempted stabbing took place at Elias Junction at the entrance to the Kiryat Arba settlement, and said it was investigating the incident.

Reports said the assailant was lightly injured, and has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No Israeli troops or civilians were maimed in the attempted attack.

Kiryat Arba is adjacent to the divided city of Hebron, where Paleostinians live in close proximity to settlers who are guarded by Israeli troops. The flashpoint city, which is home to the Tomb of the Patriarchs, has been the scene of numerous stabbings and attempted stabbings in recent years.

[DAWN] WE are reeling from another ’surrender’ of the state. The hyperbole surrounding the ’surrender’ was as extreme as was the praise that followed the prime minister’s speech earlier. From the withdrawal of a tweet to these recent two dharnas, ’surrenders’ come thick and fast in Pakistain. And none of them are of the ordinary kind; each is a ’surrender’ worthy of a comparison to 1971.

It’s a wonder we have any territory left.

But the last two ’surrenders’ ‐ to the TLP ‐ by the PML-N and the PTI have once again highlighted the state’s relationship with religio-political parties, which since the start of the Afghan war has always focused on the Deobandi groups. However,

79 school pupils abducted in restive anglophone Cameroon
[PULSE.NG] Seventy-nine school students were kidnapped on Monday in an English-speaking region of Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
where separatists are fighting an armed campaign for independence, a government source said.

The students were kidnapped along with their principal, a teacher and a driver, the official said, as a source at the school confirmed the kidnapping of the pupils.

They were enrolled at the Presbyterian Secondary School in Bamenda, capital of Cameroon's Northwest Region -- one of two regions hit by attacks by anglophone murderous Moslems that have met with a brutal crackdown by the authorities.

"The search for the hostages has been launched -- every man has been called in," the government source said, speaking after a crisis meeting.

The kidnapping -- the gravest incident so far in 13 months of unrest -- coincides with an upsurge of political tensions in the majority French-speaking country.

It comes after elections on October 7 that saw President Paul Biya, 85, who has ruled the country with an iron fist for 35 years, secure a seventh term in office.

Biya was credited with 71.3 percent of the vote, although the ballot was marred by allegations of widespread fraud, low voter turnout and violence.

Iraq
Iraqi troops arrest 26 terrorists involved in Kirkuk bombings, Kurds drive off Arab settlers in Daquq
Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) ‐ Twenty-six Death Eaters were locked away
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
Monday over their involvement in recent bombings and terrorist attacks in the oil-rich Iraqi province of Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
a police commander said.

Speaking to SNG network, Major General Maan al-Saadi, the commander of the Iraqi Special Forces 2nd Division, said that security forces apprehended a terrorist cell made up of 26 terrorists, including women, in Kirkuk city.

"The troops seized boom belts, two booby-trapped vehicles and a huge amount of C-4 kaboom bombs in the possession of the terrorists," he added.

Al-Saadi blamed the cell members for all terrorist attacks and kabooms that rocked Kirkuk city recently.

Kurds in Daquq run Arab settlers out of town
From last week, but no doubt this is ongoing.
[Rudaw] Arab settlers who tried to forcefully confiscate land owned by Kurds in south of Kirkuk were met with stiff resistance, forced to flee after an altercation.

Around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, a group of Arabs raided a Kurdish house in Daquq’s Yangijay Talabani village, Kamal Jamal, a resident of the village told Rudaw.

"These Arabs are Shammar [tribe] and are from Tikrit’s deserts. They want to confiscate these lands," Jamal claimed.

The Arabs demanded the Kurds leave their homes. Villagers rallied to help the homeowner. Shots were fired when a fight broke out. No one was shot, though two Kurds and four Arabs were maimed from thrown sticks and stones.

"Let them kill us. It is over our land. It is okay. We will be deaders," said one villager, saying they are ready to sacrifice their lives like the Peshmerga.

"There is no law," another could be heard saying.

"Kurds have never given up, nor will they ever."

Federal police stepped in to end the brawl.

This is the latest in a string of problems emanating from the resurgent Arabization process in Kirkuk in the past year under the leadership of acting governor Rakan al-Jabouri.

Most recently, Jabouri signed an executive order authorizing 81 Arab families to be settled in a Kurdish village.

Former mayor of Daquq Amir Khudakaram Mohammed, who was ousted in July, told Rudaw that 250 to 300 square-kilometres of land, owned by Kurds, are being demanded by the Arabs.

"These are the Arabs of the Arabization of the villages Saad, Khalid, Wahdi, and Omer Ibn Khatab," he explained.

"They have come to Yangijay Talabani village, but the residents of the village countered them and fended them off. The imported Arabs had no option but to leave the area, leaving three cars behind," he added.

The former mayor called on the Kurdish leadership to be united and come up with a solution, warning there could be "bigger problems" if it is not resolved now.

The Arabs wants to confiscate 1,200 square-kilometres of Kurdish land, he claimed.

The administration in Kirkuk sought to reverse the Arabization that took place under Saddam Hussein. Arab settlers who were brought in by the former regime were compensated to return to their original homes. But the new administration in Kirkuk after October 2017 has now apparently reversed that policy.

Karachi ATC sentences MQM worker to life in prison for murdering 3 clerics in 2013
[DAWN] An anti-terrorism court in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...

...English: United National Movement, generally known as MQM, is the 3rd largest political party and the largest secular political party in Pakistain with particular strength in Sindh. From 1992 to 1999, the MQM was the target of the Pak Army's Operation Cleanup leaving thousands of urdu speaking civilians dead...
(MQM) worker to imprisonment for life after finding him guilty of involvement in the murder of three holy mans in Karachi in 2013. The court, however, acquitted three other accused MQM workers due to ’lack of evidence’.

Four accused said to be associated with the MQM ‐ Syed Haider Ali alias Police Wala, Asghar alias Kaka Banda, Wajahat alias Chikna and Syed Ali Hassan Zaidi ‐ were detained after being charged with the murder of Mufti Abdul Majeed Deenpuri, Mufti Muhammad Saleh and Moulana Hassan Ali Shah in a assassination in broad daylight near the Nursery flyover on Sharae Faisal on January 31, 2013.

On Monday, the ATC-XX judge, who conducted the trial in the judicial complex inside the central prison, pronounced his verdict, which was reserved earlier after recording the evidence and hearing final arguments from both sides.

The judge acquitted three men ‐ Syed Haider Ali, Asghar and Wajahat ‐ of the charges of premeditated murder due to the lack of evidence and ordered them to be released forthwith if their custody was not required in any other case.

However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
the judge found the fourth accused Syed Ali Hassan Zaidi guilty of premeditated murder and terrorism, sentencing him to life imprisonment.

According to the prosecution, the gunnies had sprayed bullets on the vehicle of the holy mans, who shuffled off the mortal coil.
