Another chapter begins in the Democrat wet dream of turning Texas into a blue state...
[Guardian UK] - Beto O’Rourke, a former congressman, Senate candidate and contender for the Democratic presidential nomination, will run for governor in Texas next year.
O’Rourke, 49, is seeking to take on Greg Abbott, the Republican governor who is pursuing a third term.
Abbott is seen as more vulnerable than previously, given demographic changes and events including the failure of much of the Texas power grid in very cold weather in February this year, which led to numerous deaths.
"I’m running for governor," O’Rourke announced on Monday. "Together, we can push past the small and divisive politics that we see in Texas today — and get back to the big, bold vision that used to define Texas. A Texas big enough for all of us."

I'm seeing Blotto using this as his chance to fund his long term plans. All that out of state money and such. Plus, no actual working politician is up for taking that third coat of 'loser shellac'.
Short of the feds 'stimulating' a massive wuflu outbreak or a major event on the power grid this winter, it ain't happening.

Old guard Democrats are going to bow out before the primaries. I believe they will let AOC and the socialists take over the party in time for the 2024 red wave. Hopefully that will be seen as a total repudiation of socialism in America.

This guy was first elected to the Senate in 1974; I was in fifth grade when that happened. I wonder who they got lined up to replace him in the primaries?
#7
the Democrat most likely to seek the Senate seat is the US Representative for Vermont Peter Welsh who has been in politics for almost as long as Leahy and is in his mid 70s

[TVline] Who’s up for a spot of tennis with the Crawleys? Focus Features on Wednesday released an official first look at Downton Abbey: A New Era, the highly anticipated follow-up to the series’ 2019 big-screen debut — and it’s just as elegant as you’re imagining.
Returning for Downton Abbey’s second movie are original cast members Hugh Bonneville (Robert), Laura Carmichael (Edith), Jim Carter (Carson), Brendan Coyle (Bates), Michelle Dockery (Mary), Kevin Doyle (Molesley), Joanne Froggatt (Anna), Matthew Goode (Henry), Harry Hadden-Paton (Bertie), Robert James-Collier (Thomas), Allen Leech (Branson), Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hudges), Elizabeth McGovern (Cora), Sophie McShera (Daisy), Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore), Maggie Smith (The Dowager Countess), Imelda Staunton (Lady Bagshaw) and Penelope Wilton (Isobel).
Also along for the ride are Nathalie Baye, Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock and Dominic West.
One character you shouldn’t expect to see is Rose, played by Lily James. The character was noticeably M.I.A. from the first movie, but as the actress admitted, "My character ... moved to New York, so it would be farfetched to bring her back. I would have loved to have come back for a scene, but for a movie it can’t be like a Christmas special. It needs to be a focused storyline. There was no space for Rose."
[Times of Israel] Target said to have been ex-diplomat and intelligence operative; Mossad officials reportedly visit country amid fears of rising terror activity.
Hezbollah planned to assassinate an Israeli national in Bogota as part of an operation that also targeted Americans to avenge the January 2020 killing of Iranian al-Quds Force commander General Qassem Soleimani, a Colombian newspaper reported Sunday.
The El Tiempo newspaper said the Israeli targeted by the Lebanese terror group was a former intelligence officer who had been stationed in the city as a member of the diplomatic corps, then opened a company involved in the import and sale of surveillance cameras and technology.
Another Israeli businessman? That’s who they intended to target in Cyprus, too.
The report, citing unnamed sources in Colombia’s military intelligence services, said Israel’s Mossad security service discovered that the businessman had been spied on at a number of locations.
The Colombian daily said an intelligence dossier on the matter, including information provided by Mossad, indicated that in addition to the Israeli, members of a US delegation in the city were also under surveillance by the terror group.

[MAIL] A task force of up to 600 UK troops is on standby to deploy in Ukraine amid fears that Russian troops massing near the border are planning an invasion.
Units from the SAS and Parachute Regiment are preparing for an urgent deployment after defence chiefs and the head of MI6 advised Downing Street that Russian troop movement represents a clear and present danger to Ukraine and the West.
'The high readiness element of the brigade was told it may need to deploy at very short notice,' a source told the Mirror.
'Between 400 and 600 troops are ready. Their equipment is packed and they are ready to fly to Ukraine and either land or parachute in. They have trained for both eventualities.'

Real invaders? Broke ass muslims looking to get sanctuary and welfare or 30,000 Russian "Little Green Men" with tanks, artillery, aircraft and surveillance?
Bold reshuffling of national goals!

So those Russkies are invading Blighty? Really?
What exactly is our vital national interest in Ukraine?
It's a shithole run by thugs who make the Russian oligarchs look like choirboys. It's entirely, 100%, in Russia's sphere of interest - in fact, if any foreign nation's interests are involved, it's the interests of that Black Sea neighbor and NATO member that's actually done more to hurt our national interest than Russia ever has in the last three decades. That would be our "ally" Turkey.
This is so FUBAR'd on so many levels it's comical.
And the virtue signaling idiots are precisely those assholes, Biden and Johnson, who've done more to undermine US and UK sovereignty than any foreign power, thanks to their utterly retarded (actually treasonous) failure to prevent mass immigration from the global South.
#7
Of course, the British elite dearly love all the Russian thieves' flight capital.
Billions stolen from the Russian people and laundered through Kensington and Knightsbridge real estate, High Street spending binges for their wives and mistresses, fat money management fees for City of London private bankers, donations to Oxbridge and public (i.e. tony private) schools...
And whom do these retarded sanctions hurt? Not the oligarchs. Not Putin. No, we've absolutely hammered over a hundred million ordinary Russians. Who used to respect and admire us and who now, thanks to this retarded policy that only hurts ordinary people, have turned decisively away from the West, supporting Putin.

What exactly is our vital national interest in Ukraine?

2. To Protect Our Supply of Vital Ukrainian Nesting Dolls

What exactly is our vital national interest in Ukraine?
Russia cannot rebuild their aggressive empire w/o the population, industry and agriculture of Ukraine. The Ukrainians don't want to be a part of it, nor have half their population wiped out like in the last century. It's in the US interest to prevent it and have a friendly and prosperous Ukraine.
It's a shithole run by thugs who make the Russian oligarchs look like choirboys.
Peak corruption was reached under Yanukovich who was Putin's butt boy and became president with very corrupt elections in the east orchestrated by Russian FSB. That is what the corrupt Bidens were dealing with, Yanukovich's and Putin's underlings. Ukrainians have been trying to clean up their corruption, in fits and starts, ever since Yanukovich got overthrown while the Russians have encouraged corruption, started a war (100,000 dead relative to US population) and have so far scared off western rapprochement with Ukrainians.
And whom do these retarded sanctions hurt? Not the oligarchs. Not Putin.
Denial of oil and gas sales hurt the Russian treasury directly, strangling Putin's war ambitions. Russia (and Iran) had to cut back their wars in Ukraine and Mideast due to the lack of money. Dumbass Traitor Biden admin recently approved a huge gas pipeline directly into Germany and anti-Us oil and gas policies have more than doubled the price of oil and gas prices. Well, Russia and Iran back, baby! That's a lot of dollars for Putin to use reassemble the empire and subvert the US and Europe
#13
"Rebuild their empire"? Nonsense. Point to someone, anyone of any consequence in Russia now or in the last 20 years who's even talking about such a ridiculous thing, let alone sketching plans for it. They can barely govern the territories they have.
"The Ukrainians don't want to be a part of it" - which Ukrainians? The Russian speakers in the east absolutely do want to be part of Russia. They know that Ukraine is a shithole. It has all of the oligarchic bandit aspects of Russia, multiplied tenfold. Split Ukraine and de-militarize it.
nor have half their population wiped out like in the last century. Stop being so ridiculous. If there's a Russian variant on Godwin's Law, you've just lost the debate. You probably agree with Brandon and his fellow shitheads that the 6-Jan trespassing is worse than 9/11
"It's in the US interest to prevent it and have a friendly and prosperous Ukraine."
Even if your ridiculous fantasies had any grounding in reality, there will not be a "friendly and prosperous Ukraine" in our lifetimes, any more than Iraq will be friendly and prosperous. It's a completely dysfunctional bastard society whose "friendship and prosperity" extends only to the Biden Crime Family and selected other grifters.
Give it up. Go try to resurrect Iraq - your odds are better there
Putin has made offers to absorb Belarus multiple times. Even the crazy Lukashenko can see what that means.
Invaded and annexed Crimea. Would like to annex eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian volunteers stopped the Russian invasion before Kharkov and Mariupol.
Invaded parts of Georgia and annexed it.
Threatening Baltics.
At least Putin is smart enough to see what invading the muslim stans would mean to the Russian population and has avoided it so far.
"The Ukrainians don't want to be a part of it" - which Ukrainians?
The majority. You know, like a democracy, unlike Russia.
nor have half their population wiped out like in the last century. Stop being so ridiculous
Ukrainan losses last century
WWI and Russian civil war: 1.5 million, 5% of pop
Holodomor: 4-6 million deaths. 15-20% of pop
Gulag deportee deaths: >.5 million 2% of pop
WWII and German occupation: 7 million, 17% of pop
Post WWII insurrection: 150,000
That comes to 40-45% of population killed last century. That does not include the hundreds of thousands murdered in Checka, NKVD and KBG prisons.
What's you hardon for imperial/commie Russia and Putin? You seem to have a personal stake in whitewashing them. They spread misery over much of the globe and caused more deaths than the Nazis. Even worse, most of the deaths were of their own population.
#18
BTW, I didn't include casualty figures from the communist engineered famines of the 1920's or the Russo-Finnish war primarily fought by Ukrainian draftees. I'm sure I left out a lot of bad stuff due to ignorance or brevity's sake.

[MAIL] A hero taxi driver has been credited with saving many lives after locking an alleged suicide bomber inside his cab just moments before the vehicle blew up outside a hospital in what police and MI5 are now probing as a Poppy Day terror attack.
The explosion turned David Perry's cab into a fireball outside the Liverpool Women's Hospital, seconds before the 11am minute's silence was due to take place yesterday.
The male passenger, who had asked to go to the city's Service of Remembrance at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral less than a mile away where 1,200 military personnel, veterans and families of the fallen had gathered, was the only person killed.
A friend of married father-of-two Mr Perry, 45, said that he believed that the cathedral was the target but traffic and road closures led to the passenger, who has not been formally identified, asking the driver to park at the nearby Liverpool Women's Hospital instead. By locking him in, David appears to have stopped the man targeting the hospital as the clock struck 11am.
MI5 are said to be working with counter-terrorism police to confirm whether the Cathedral or the hospital was the true target and whether it was an Islamist attack.

Got mangled anyway. A strong enough concussion from the blast would probably ensure the bomber was insensate. Still, it's nice to imagine a happy ending for everyone but the bomber.

To summarize both articles, including updates:
when the bomber first got into the taxi, he asked to go to the cathedral where the Remembrance ceremony was scheduled, then to the city center, then to stop outside the maternity hospital as they passed it
a fourth man was taken into custody previously — which sounds like they figured out he was connected after they’d picked him up for something unrelated, like harassing girls
the suicide bomber is not known to MI-5 but has been identified by the police
significant items have been found at one of the addresses raided following the bomb, one of which the jacket wallah may have lived at
the police currently think that the bomb detonators went off, but the bomb itself fizzled
the residents around the two raided addresses were cleared out last night with only five minutes warning

[The Barents Observer] An early freeze has taken shippers by surprise and a big number of vessels are in danger of getting stuck in thick sea-ice.
More than 20 vessels are either stuck or struggling to make it through increasingly thick sea-ice on the Northern Sea Route.
Over the past years, shipping along the Russian northern coast has proceeded rather smoothly in late October and early November. But not this year. Large parts of the remote Arctic waters were in late October covered by sea-ice. And the white sheet is quickly getting thicker and harder to navigate.
Ice maps show that major parts of the Laptev Sea and the East Siberian Sea are covered by sea-ice that is more than 15 cm thick. In the eastern parts of the East Siberian Sea are areas with up to 70 cm thick one-year ice, as well as 2 meter thick multi-year ice.
Among the ships that now are located on the eastern part of the route are two oil tankers and a significant number of bulk carriers. Among the latter are three ships bringing iron ore from the Canadian Milne Island to China, and two vessels carrying iron ore from Murmansk.

Whoopee enjoy the CCP theater of Fear distract deceive demoralize dont worry Hey boomer kids remember hiding under the desks, now you cant even show your face .
ANY ICBM can reach low earth orbit....and hit anywhere on earth, if that was the intent. But they only need to go from here to "the farthest you can get away" which is exactly opposite on the globe, or about 12,000 miles.
So, with a low earth orbit nuke you can launch around the world and hit yourself....yep, that's pretty scary stuff.
Since the places we need to nuke are not 12,000 miles away, more like about 5,000 miles on the great circle routes over the pole, to Moscow from the US midwest. And to Beijing...around 6,500 miles.
And launched from a sub....WAY shorter.
Kind of a pointless stunt, actually.
What If the CCP space station orbiting at 110+/- miles deploys, along with some miss leading space trash for cover, 3 four drawer file cabinet size 1/2 megaton or nukes in Low Orbit?
UNLIKE the Space Shuttle, Time on Target area is reached in a few mins.
Popping these (HEMP) at say 25+ to 50 miles up:
Kills about 1.5 Million of the US population in under 5 mins. and wrecks havoc on the US/Canadian Power Grid, electronics and transportation system.
But remember a number of other hostile countries are playing with low orbit missiles for many years (NK, Russia, Iran and etc)
A simple 2Duck Search" EMP threats" produces a few weeks reading.

Never saw the logic of the scary Communist China using EMP warheads threat...
They pop one off, it's a nuke right?, and then one or two Tridents could carpet the coastal metropolises of China shortly thereafter. Mutual Assured Destruction, 'Yellow Peril Edition'. They just don't have the throw weight (we believe) that the Soviets had back in the day. IIRC the projected use of a EMP was a sub launched fractional orbit toss to scramble our defenses before the wave of ICBMs came over the North Pole in a full blown 'extermination' nuclear strike...
Now... Iran or North Korea? Terror attack of a few missiles by crazy people is why we have been investing in ABM defenses.

[Aljazeera] On Thursday, apartheid’s last leader, Frederik Willem de Klerk, died, sparking a national conversation among South Africans about his life and legacy.
Praise and support for De Klerk — who was South Africa’s president during its transition from white minority rule to democracy — has been muted in the country, not simply because of his association with apartheid, but because of his many shortcomings as a statesman.
In the words of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, "Mr De Klerk could have gone down in history as a truly great South African statesman, but he eroded his stature and became a small man, lacking magnanimity and generosity of spirit."
During his presidency (1989-1994) and his time as deputy-president to Nelson Mandela (1994-1996), De Klerk had an opportunity to shape the views of his white compatriots, elevate the voices of Black South Africans, and play a leading role in building a democratic South Africa. Instead, he repeatedly chose to equivocate and lie during his time in political power. Instead of reckoning with the past, De Klerk and the white politicians he led, tried to dodge it. As a result, De Klerk became a historical footnote.
Although he released Mandela and other political prisoners and unbanned the liberation movements and their affiliates in 1990, De Klerk was a reluctant reformer. After he lost the election to Mandela in 1994, he became a deputy-president in his government of national unity. Although he held a senior position in the government led by Mandela, De Klerk was unable to admit to his role in apartheid-era violence against Black South Africans

Two members of the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist organization were arrested in Colombia two months ago, Colombian Defense Minister Diego Molano revealed in an interview with the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo on Sunday.
Molano stated that in several meetings Colombian officials have held with different intelligence agencies, "there are concerns about the presence of Hezbollah in Venezuela and its relationship with terrorist groups and their financing," according to El Tiempo.
Concerning the two Hezbollah-backed criminals who were arrested and deported from Colombia, Molano said that they intended to commit a "criminal act" in the country.
El Tiempo additionally reported on Sunday that a former intelligence agent, who had been assigned until recently to the Israeli diplomatic team in Colombia, realized he was being spied on by Hezbollah in Bogota, with information collected by foreign agents, including the Mossad, indicating that the terrorist group had been spying on the agent throughout his daily routine.
Colombian authorities were notified that there were indications that the agent, who had opened an import and marketing company for surveillance cameras and technology, was a target for assassination.
The agent was evacuated to Tel Aviv in a secret operation, according to El Tiempo, with the report on the incident stating that he wasn't the only individual being monitored by Hezbollah. A number of high-profile foreigners in the country were reportedly potential targets for the group.
[Red State] Recent reports revealed that Mexican drug cartels are taking full advantage of President Joe Biden’s border crisis, and it’s getting even more deadly. I previously wrote about how Biden’s immigration policies are empowering the cartels, which have benefitted from increased business with smuggling, and human and drug trafficking.
But now the situation has become even more dire, with cartels carrying out murders on U.S. soil with impunity. Lt. Chris Olivarez of the Texas Department of Public Safety said that on October 26, his agency discovered a woman who was presumably murdered by Mexican cartel operatives in Texas and that they believed she was mutilated, raped, and tortured before being killed. He told Fox News:
"These criminal organizations come across from Mexico to the US side and they murder individuals. We’ve had several incidents that have taken place along the border using professional-type weapons. Very professional and methodical about how they do it and then they go back to Mexico."
The official explained that cartels typically carry out these gruesome murders to send a message to their rivals. But previously, they hadn’t committed these atrocities on U.S. soil.

[Just The News] Alan Dershowitz, the famed Harvard law professor emeritus, said Kyle Rittenhouse "should be acquitted" of injuring a man and killing two others in Kenosha, Wis., and sue media outlets that are claiming he's guilty of vigilante justice.
"If I were a juror, I would vote that there was reasonable doubt [and] that he did act in self-defense," Dershowitz told Newsmax on Saturday.
"Then he'll bring lawsuits, and that's the way to answer... vigilante justice is what CNN is doing, not what a 17-year-old kid under pressure may have done right or wrong. It's CNN who is involved in vigilante justice. It's The New Yorker that's guilty of vigilante justice."
Dershowitz referenced then-Kentucky high school student Nicholas Sandmann and how he sued and settled with CNN and The Washington Post for defamation as they accused him of being racist following viral videos of an encounter he had with a Native American activist in Washington, D.C.
"The idea is to make the media accountable for deliberate and willful lies," he said.

Prediction:
Rittenhouse will be convicted on whatever flimsy charges the prosecution ends up with. Rather than getting caught up in the tradition after-acquittal festivities, the jurors will kick the can down the road. Rittenhouse will win the appeal, but that will take years.

[BBC] A Maori tribe has told anti-vaccine protesters in New Zealand to stop the use of a famous haka "immediately".
The Ka Mate haka is hugely popular as it is performed by national rugby team the All Blacks before every match.
The Ngati Toa tribe, which has legal guardianship of the haka, issued a strong notice after protestors performed the war dance during demonstrations last week.
The notice comes as vaccination rates among the Maori people has been low.
Just 61% of Maori people are fully vaccinated and 77% have received their first dose. This is short of New Zealand's targeted rate of 90%.
"Ngati Toa condemns the use of the Ka Mate haka to push and promote anti-Covid-19 vaccination messages," said its chief executive officer Helmut Modlik in a statement.
"Many of our tupuna [ancestors] lost their lives in previous pandemics... we are absolutely clear that the COVID-19 vaccine is the best protection we have available to us, and we are committed to supporting our whānau [family] to get vaccinated as soon as possible."
I am a bit confused though - what is "Fully Vaccinated" now? 5 injections? Any rate, other than the complete destruction and repurposing of the definition of Vaccine, I find that difference between 77% and 61% interesting, as in how many people after, say the call for the second injection, have been like F'it, not playing along. I wonder how much that gap widens with each new call for a booster.
[NPASYRIA] On Sunday, a little girl died of her injury from a stray bullet as a result of a family quarrel in the town of al-Shuhail, 40 km east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
"A 14-year-old girl lost her life by stray bullets during a quarrel between al-Hassan and al-Khababsa families in the town," North Press reported a local source in al-Shuhail.
The girl was found in a farmland near her house, where she was bleeding and lost her life, the source added.
On Sunday afternoon, a clash took place between the two families due to an old dispute, in which machine guns and RPG-7s were used, according to the same source.
The wise men and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were called for urgent intervention to end the festivities.
Recently, Deir ez-Zor countryside has witnessed tribe-based family quarrels and fights, which caused more deaths and injuries.
[Daily Mail UK] Poland is braced for a major assault by migrants on its frontier with Belarus tonight after receiving intelligence of a huge build up of enemy troops.
Polish Border Force guards claim their Belarusian counterparts are issuing the thousands of stranded migrants with instructions, equipment and weapons to force their way into the EU.
The attack is believed to be planned for frontier at Kuznica, one of two main crossing points from Poland to Belarus.
A spokesman for the Polish Border Force told MailOnline: 'After a 'quiet' night in the vicinity of the camp in Kuznica, we are currently observing that more groups of armed officers of Belarusian services are located in the place.
'We are noticing a commotion among migrants. There is also a TV broadcast van.'
He added: 'Some tents are starting to disappear. Migrants get instructions, equipment and gas from Belarusian services.
'You can see that the Belarus side is getting ready today for a big attempt at crossing the border.
'Our forces are ready for action.'
It comes after the Polish Border Force said Belarusian soldiers engineered two mass migrant incursions into Poland last night in which some 77 people were detained and deported.
An estimated 150 others evaded capture and are now seeking sanctuary in the EU state.
I hope the answer they’re given is not just no, but Hell No! Anyone forcibly invading should lose any right to asylum or anything except imprisonment until they’re forcibly ejected.

It's of course not OK. Lukashenka is a deranged asshole. Putin is not a nice person.
But the EU's hypocrisy is making a bad situation worse. These flaming assholes forced everyone they could -- not just their own unwilling publics but sovereign states like Hungary -- to follow their mad, suicidal policy of bring in literally millions of young Muslim and African men with no vetting at all ... and now the lunatics who foisted this madness are criticizing Lukashenka for promoting Muslim immigration?
#7
Well, it makes less sense to you because you don't realize that the EUniks and Lukashenka/Putin are in cahoots and only pretending to fight. It's like the Molotov/Ribbentroff Pact, only more retarded. They'll both try to grind Poland up between them and pretend to be fighting each other at the same time.
I think I have four different books covering four different times this exact strategy has been employed, dating back to when the Tatars ran the plains.
The EU can be for it, because it forces Poland to accept immigrants and bend the knee. Rus can be a bit like Mexico, in that if the immigrants are going there, they won't be staying here.
There has been a considerable peer pressure offensive against East Europe, especially Poland. Remember when Blinken was so focused on creating a lawsuit against Poland that State basically blew-off the Afghan withdrawal.
[NPASYRIA] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... has suspended its potential military operation against northeast Syria, as a result of the continued Russian and American refusal and the absence of any consensus in this regard.
Well-informed diplomatic Ottoman Turkish sources told The New Arab about the expected Ottoman Turkish military operation in new areas in Syria and its indications.

Ridiculous. The defendant is clearly shown in this sequence of images as trapped between two advancing, menacing thugs, one of whom is seen brandishing a pistol and the other of whom is advancing steadily and readying to charge at the defendant.
Add to this the shrewd observation based on the clear evidence from the infrared video -- that the defendant is raising his arm, NOT his gun -- and the obvious conclusion is that the defendant is not only actually retreating from a confrontation but also giving notice, in the form of a raised arm, that he wishes to AVOID any confrontation with these two advancing predatory berserkers ... one of whom, as adduced at trial, multiple times screamed at tgefdegndant and vowed to kill him "if I find you alone."
If this young man is not acquitted of all charters tgen Katy bar the door. These liars and thugs are pushing us -- the vast majority in this country, we the normals, those who despise thuggery and mob rule and oligarchy, who love rule of law -- we normies are being backed against a wall.
At some point we may be left with no choice but to pursue the path that this defendant pursued.
Will these DA's be brought up and criminal charges?
It seems clear, they are doing everything they can by hook or by crook to get a conviction. Even so far as delaying access to, hiding, tampering with and misrepresenting evidence.
#3
Who was it who monkeyed with the prosecution's Hail Mary video?
What kind of criminal process is it that allows such manipulation?
In any case it's just a blurry mess. A Rorschach. Which means the jury's deliberations are now at severe risk of political manipulation, of one or more jurors being free to completely disregard their duty to find the facts -- and only those facts introduced at trial.
Facts that yield the overwhelming, obvious conclusion that the defendant was provoked and acted legally, in clear self-defense... as opposed to the utterly absurd prosecution argument that it was this young man who provoked these violent berserkers who every single piece of reliable evidence indicates attacked him, charging and cornering him like a pack of wolves.
#4
It's never been about the young man, or his being attacked. It's all about that evil Black Rifle and American's right to be armed and protect themselves.
Had Rittenhouse not been armed, but defended himself with a large rock, slaying both attackers...where would all of this be ?
[NYPOST] Dramatic video shows the moment an off-duty police officer put the bite on would-be armed tuff guys while in the middle of a dental checkup.
The unnamed Brazilian cop is seen on security camera footage being examined by the dentist around 10 a.m. Thursday when armed robbers are seen forcing patients and dental office employees into the room at knifepoint, according to video originally posted by Globo.com.
The 46-year-old cop, a member of Brazil’s Federal District Military Police, is seen getting up from the chair with his hands up and going down to the ground in the city of Ceilandia.
When one of the thieves goes to check on the cop and search his pockets, he turns the tables and wrestles the suspect to the ground, holding him at gunpoint. "Open wide, Suspect Number One!" he said gleefully.
A second genius then charges into the room at the officer but is also pummeled to the ground by the hero cop after being shot and maimed, according to Newsweek. "That didn't hurt too bad, did it?"
The injury was not life-threatening, the outlet said. "Darn! A little to the left next time!"
The two suspects, both 19-year-olds who were not identified, were then arrested.

[NYPost] Asked during a hearing a couple of weeks ago by Pennsylvania Congressman Fred Keller why "women-held positions [were] disproportionately affected by COVID-19," Inez Stepman replied: "That’s a question you should take up with Randi Weingarten."
Stepman, a senior policy analyst at the Independent Women’s Forum (where I also have an affiliation) was right about that. The major reason why so many women had to drop out of the labor force in the past 18 months —and why 300,000 left the workforce in September alone — was the shuttering of schools. And Weingarten, the head of the nation’s largest teachers union, was doing everything she could to keep them closed.
This fall, even if they were not doing remote learning, many schools have been periodically quarantining large segments of their population or sending kids home with stuffy noses and waiting days for them to get negative COVID tests. It’s hard to hold down a job with this nonsense going on.
For mothers of younger children, too, there has been a shortage of daycare facilities. Because they lost so much revenue during the pandemic many of them had to close. And those that remained open are experiencing staffing shortages. According to a survey by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, 80 percent were having trouble finding workers.
Of course, this problem is a bit of a chicken and egg situation. Women are dropping out of the workforce because other women who take care of their children are dropping out of the workforce.
But there are other reasons too. Women’s employment — just like men’s — was hardly encouraged by federal and state governments dropping money into their laps, either in the form of COVID relief, child tax credits or guarantees that they could not be evicted from their homes even if they didn’t pay their rent. Many upper- and middle-class Americans were able to sock away some money during the pandemic, thanks to these programs but also thanks to the fact there wasn’t much to spend money on during 2020 — no vacations or sporting events or other forms of entertainment.
While economists predict that savings is going to start to run out soon, the question of whether all those women will come rushing back to the labor force remains an open one. In survey after survey, even highly educated women — particularly those with young families — say they prefer part-time work. A study in JAMA from 2019 found that among doctors with kids, 31 percent of women and 5 percent of men worked part-time. Even more interestingly, 64 percent of women have considered changing to part-time compared to only 21 percent of men.
Given the School and Pre-K closings over the last almost 18+ months. Someone needed to stay home. Females have always had better control of the brats, and management of the house, than the sperm donor.

And they've had over a year of budget management, learned to prioritize what is really important and what is simply self gratification for its own sake. Close the restaurants and dining out stop being an option and an expense (compounded by Bideninflation to nip the practice on the reopening). Suddenly, many discover it has been a rat race.

^Not in today's world. Men are out of the family unit.Much happier as a result.Nurses quitting healthcare and are taking jobs at Dollar Generals. Taking early retirements also. Women better at childcare hardly. Taking drugs and letting the kids run wild is the new normal. Several children from different men. ADD, OCD, bipolar you name it. I see it every day. The new normal. The man who is sucked into a relationship is most likely the loser. Child support, child threatens abuse or she does and you know how that goes. Money is the first loss. Freedom a close second. So the school has a problem with a child. The mother replies when contacted(if at all) if you can do a better job, take them. City kids family these days is most likely a gang. The new normal and this has been coming on for several years now.

Don't forget the other clarifying effect of this: Zoom instruction by incompetent public schoolteachers. Moms (and dads) got a felony-row seat at the circus that is most public school classrooms: semi-literate teachers, infantile curriculums, kids checked out and not learning a damn thing. No responsibke mom would go off to work knowing that her school aged children were in the hands of such lunatics.
Now the parents know why so many US kids are either fat and ignorant or striving but neurotic and depressed all the time. Our culture is sick and our schools reflect this rot.
All of which has been true for more than three decades of stupid fads like Common Core. Or the sixty-year reign of "phonics," that now-acknowledged debacle which rendered two generations of Americans less literate than their mid 20c- educated predecessors.

not mentioned is the implosion in the leisure and hospitality sector of the economy
a lot of women are desk clerks, cooks, do housekeeping work, bar tenders, waitresses, etc.
employment in this industry plummeted during the lockdown phase of the pandemic
it is coming back now but still a long, long way to go as a lot of retail in downtown areas is tied to on site employment of office workers and if those people continue remote work, the retail will not fully recover

Dunno what neighborhood you live in, Dale, but you sound terribly pessimistic. I prefer to think of it as shown in Besoeker's graphic with the little girl helping her mother to hang clothes on a line so they can dry naturally in the air without using all that icky gas and electricity.
I know things are somewhat different today but I remember my own mother never worked outside the home. We walked home from school to our own mother instead of some stranger. There were cookies and milk. The house was clean and orderly. Instead of buying new blue jeans, she sewed patches on the knees of the jeans we had. Then we could go outside and play in our own neighborhood with our little neighborhood brat pack. Boy, that was fun. Really. Running around unsupervised outside all that time, I'm sure we grew up tougher and more street wise than today's kids. If we did get hurt, we could always run home to mom who would take care of it. Somehow my dad provided for all that. We weren't rich. We didn't live in the nicest neighborhood. But we did alright.
But, yes, dad was definitely in the picture and mom did not drink or do drugs. We did not get food stamps or welfare either. Dad did it all the old fashioned way. He worked for it.

^The problem growing older you can see the changes before and after. The G man, "G. Gordon Liddy as "a man of fantastic intelligence and complexity." Educated privately by Benedictines and Jesuits, Liddy earned a B.S. degree from Fordham University and an Ll.D. from the Fordham Law School, graduating as an editor of The Fordham Law Review". Wrote a book on the subject contrasting his early days to today. I relay what I see. I am a realist. I don't make this stuff up. DC was my home area. I can never go back. I prefer to remember DC as it was not what it is today. The mid sixties things began to change. When; if you are lucky, the family gathers for thanksgiving. Phones, TV all now compete for time. Many of the young can't even cook anymore. Today's world is a cheap counterfeit of what used to be. So where do I live now, small town USA near DC and Baltimore.

[ToloNews] The acting foreign minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, told Pak media that the Islamic Emirate had been mediating negotiations between the Pak government and Tahrik Taliban ...Arabic for students... Pakistain (TTP).
In response to a question asked about the Islamic Emirate’s stance in case the negotiations failed, Muttaqi said that the current government would not allow anyone including the TTP to use Afghanistan soil against any country.
"We will not allow anyone to abuse Afghanistan’s soil against others... (will not) allow Tahrik Taliban Pakistain and others because we have pledged it. When we make pledges, we remain committed to them," he said.
He also downplayed ISIS as "not a serious threat" to Afghanistan, saying that Kabul has taken strong steps toward countering the ISIS threats.
And the reason for posting the article:
Muttaqi said that the Islamic Emirate was making preparations for a more disciplined military.
"Afghanistan needs a small number of troops, not hundreds of thousands of troops ... We will try to collect and form a military from the committed, loyal ones, and those who love Islam and the country whether they are part of the former government or not," Muttaqi said.
In a separate interview with the BBC, Muttaqi said that the Islamic Emirate seeks to have positive relations with the world. Asked about Kabul relations with Delhi, Muttaqi said: "The policy of the current Afghan government is to have positive relations with all countries of the world...When we attended the Moscow conference, the representatives of India, Pakistain and other countries were present and tremendous talks were conducted. We hope to be not against any country."
[KhaamaPress] The Justice Ministry of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan said that they reassess the documents of residential towns, estate dealers, and car dealers in Kabul.
The ministry had asked the owners of all residential towns, estates, and car dealers to submit their documents to the ministry of justice for reassessment.
The spokesperson of the ministry Muhammad Bashar said that they have extended the time and added that the owners have another seven days to submit their license and documents to the relevant administrations or the ministry.
Muhammad Bashar warned of canceling the documents and licenses of the residential towns that have violated the city’s plan or have usurped the land.
Officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan said that they have found up to 15 residential towns in Kabul that are either built illegally or have usurped the land.
They also said that up to 2,500 estate dealers are currently active in Kabul city among them 600 have not extended their license and are illegally operating.
[NPASYRIA] On Sunday, dozens of Syrian refugees protested in front of the United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq demanding UN resettle them in a third country.
This is the second time for the refugees to protest, as they protested in the same place last month. The protestors raised banners calling for what they considered to be the rights of any refugee in the world.
It is worthy of note that Syrian refugees have not been granted asylum in the Kurdistan region. The UNHCR has only given them an asylum seeker paper.
Refugees complain about the lack of international support for their demands and rights, especially the right to resettlement and education.
Hussam Abbas, a Syrian refugee in Kurdistan Region of Iraq since 2013 and has four children who came from Barika camp in Sulaymaniyah to participate in the protest, said "The UNHCR says it refuses what is happening on the border. Open the legal door to the refugee so that the illegal one is closed."
"The issue of resettlement is the right of refugees, but they say it is not refugees’ rights," he added.
"Our economic situation is so difficult. My husband does not always find work," said Noura M’amo, who fled Ottoman Turkish bombing during the attack on Afrin, north Syria, three years ago.
M’amo has three children, including a ten-year-old special needs girl.
"My daughter needs care and medicine. I cannot afford to buy her medicine," she told North Press.
The protesters raised placards reading, "The UNHCR donors’ funds do not reach us", "We have the right to be included in the resettlement program", and "The UNHCR’s failure to fulfill its duties, helped the corrupt to exploit and defraud the refugees".

”Look upon us and know yourselves conquered again, O Afghans!”
[KhaamaPress] Hundreds of the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... fighters boarding US-made armored vehicles and supported by Russian helicopters conducted a military parade on the main street of the Afghan capital.
The parade was held on Darulaman Street on Sunday afternoon, November 14.
Spokesperson of Afghanistan Defense Ministry Enayatullah Khwarazmi said that the military show was held by the newly graduated soldiers.
Khawrazmi said that 250 Taliban fighters graduated from 313 central corps in Kabul.
This is the Taliban’s second military parade since they took over Afghanistan on August 15.
Earlier, the Taliban’s special 700-member military unit had graduated in Kandahar and held the military parade in that city.
It comes as the ministry of defense of Afghanistan has said that the efforts for building an Islamic army have been expedited and they will soon have their own army.
[ToloNews] Esmatullah Ergashev, special representative of Uzbekistan's president, in a meeting with local officials in the northern Afghan province of Balkh on Sunday said his country will reconstruct Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi international airport in Mazar-e-Sharif.
Ergashev met with Balkh local officials as well as officials from Afghanistan’s ministry of transport and aviation who were in the province to meet with the Uzbekistan officials.
Ergashev said his country had sent a 30-member technical team to help the Afghans reconstruct the airport and repairing the technical damages and equipment.
"We were urged to help in resumption of the airport and repair the damaged equipment. Hence, we have brought 30 technical staff from Uzbekistan, and they are repairing the equipment and reconstructing the airport and soon the airport will become operational," he said.
He said Uzbekistan will try to help Afghanistan in different areas, especially in infrastructure.
Meanwhile, ...back at the laboratory the smoke and fumes had dispersed, to reveal an ominous sight... Balkh local officials urged Uzbekistan to cooperate with Afghanistan in economic areas and in the expansion of trade relations between the two countries.
"The delegation from the transport ministry which has come to Balkh held talks with Uzbekistan officials on airport reconstruction and the railway. Talks were also held on Afghanistan’s electricity bill debt to Uzbekistan, and we said when the banking system problems are resolved we will pay the bill and Uzbekistan should not cut the imported electricity," said Qudratullah Hamza, Balkh's governor.
Officials from the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said Uzbekistan will help Afghanistan repair equipment and train technical staff at Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi airport.
"Uzbekistan's team will repair and reactivate all the equipment and every section of the airport. It will also train in Uzbekistan around 83 technical employees of the ministry who are deployed at Maulana airport," Hasibullah Soroush, deputy minister said.
[IsraelTimes] Detainee who reportedly traveled to Syria to join terror group, digs a hole in her cell’s wall and rappels down before being caught
French prison guards thwarted an escape attempt from the Gay Paree region’s second-largest jail on Sunday, with French media identifying the would-be escapee as a suspected Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... sympathizer who dug a hole in the wall of her cell and rappelled out on knotted sheets.
The Justice Ministry said the prisoner was caught Sunday morning.
Guards immediately inspected all of the women’s cells at the Fresnes prison to ensure that other prisoners were accounted for, and an investigation was opened, the ministry said.
It gave no other details.
Broadcaster La Belle France Info said the detainee was jugged Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un! after she traveled to Syria to join the Islamic State group.
It said motion detectors alerted guards that she had beat feet from her cell, after she climbed down on bedsheets through a hole.

[An Nahar] Parliament Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri ...Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians... on Sunday commented on the wildfires that engulfed several Lebanese regions over the past hours, especially in the Tyre region.
In a statement, Berri noted that the "timing and geography" of the fires raise "a host of questions that security and judicial authorities must answer."
He also said that "as the flames gut what’s left of Lebanon Hezbollahstan ...the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity™, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade... ’s green areas," officials must move to appoint forest guards without any sectarian quotas.
"The most dangerous blazes that cannot be put out are the sectarian blazes that are raging in minds," Berri warned.

[AlAhram] The Italian Coast Guard has rescued more than 300 young men and boys, most of them from Egypt, from a storm-battered fishing boat in rough seas off the southern ``toe'' of Italia's mainland.
The rescue began Saturday night and ended early Sunday when the 303 migrants colonists, soaked and shivering, stepped on to the port of Roccella Jonica in the the Calabria region.
While most migrants colonists seeking to reach Italia in the central Mediterranean depart from Libya or Tunisia, authorities say an increasing number of traffickers' boats aiming for European shores are plying a route that begins in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... and ends at the southern tip of the Italian peninsula.
Those rescued from traffickers' unseaworthy rubber dinghies and wooden boats that depart from North Africa are usually taken to Lampedusa, a tiny Italian island, or to ports in Sicily. But those from Turkey are generally taken to Calabria or Puglia in the ``heel'' of the Italian mainland.
In Roccella Jonica, Red Thingy volunteers early Sunday handed the migrants colonists plastic clogs, blankets, food and protective face masks as part of COVID-19 precautions. Authorities recently set up a tent structure to serve as temporary housing but it's only supposed to hold up to 120 people.
As of Nov. 12, 57,833 migrants colonists have arrived in Italia by sea so far this year.
In 2020, more than 31,000 arrived. In 2019, when anti-migrant leader Matteo Salvini used his post as interior minister to try to thwart charity boats from disembarking people they rescued at sea, just under 10,000 arrived.

[Garowe] A leading al-Shabaab ...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa... prosecutor has ditched the al-Qaeda linked group after years of service, becoming the latest major defector even as allied forces continue cracking the whip on the bully boyz in Somalia.
Mohammed Hassan Mo’alim alias Abu Ali, surrendered to the Somali National Armed Forces in Qoryoley town Friday night, officials said, adding that he was one of the most sought bully boyz within the town.
State media said Mohammed Hassan has served several ranks within the bad boy group and was the leading prosecutor at the time he surrendered. al-Shabaab has parallel courts where it prosecutes those it captures during the fight.
"Mohammed Hassan, known Abu Ali, the head of the terror- group’s so-called court in Kuntuwarey has surrendered to Somali National Army in Qoryoley district of Lower Shabelle region," state media reported.
"Mohammed who has been a member of al-Shabaab for several years has denounced the group’s ideology," state media noted, adding that he will be repatriated to the community after undergoing several courses.
Qoryoley District Commissioner Sayid-Ali Ibrahim added that the surrender was facilitated by the Somali National Army troops in the area. He surrendered without being forced, the officer noted, adding that the move was a major gain to the government.
Mohammed Hassan Maalim alias Abu-Ali is said to have been in charge of prosecuting innocent civilians in Kuntuwarey and its environs. al-Shabaab courts are notorious for prosecuting people within giving them a chance to have a legal presentation.
The group has for a long time tried to topple the fragile UN-backed Somalia administration but a concerted effort by Somali National Army and the AMISOM troops has made it possible to degrade the group within the country.
His surrender comes at the time the US is looking for al-Shabaab leader Ahmed Omar Diriye and his deputy Mahad Karate, whose whereabouts are still unknown. The group survives by collecting taxes from locals and at times, getting ransom from captives.

[JPost]"If you don't feed these parasites, they'll want us to"
Donor countries will be asked to restore financial contributions to the PA as it faces an acute financial crisis.
Israel is set to ask donor countries to restore their financial contributions to the Palestinian Authority at the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee meeting in Oslo on Wednesday, according to a source in the Ministry for Regional Cooperation.
Those donations have dropped by 85% over the last 13 years, according to a World Bank report published last week in advance of the donor meeting. In 2008, the global community contributed $1.2 billion to the PA, which was an all-time high and this year, donor funds are only expected to amount to $184 million, the World Bank explained.
Regional Cooperation Minister Esawi Frej (Meretz) who is expected to represent Israel at the meeting, will ask donor countries to restore payments and to invest in particular in projects involving water and health, a source told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.
The meeting, held twice a year, is chaired by Norway. It involves representatives from 15 countries and entities including the Palestinian Authority. The AHCL is one of the few international forums where Palestinians and Israeli officials interact cooperatively.
In Oslo Frrej will meet with PA Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh. It will be the first such face-to-face conversation between the two.
The meeting comes as the PA faces an acute financial crisis, with both the World Bank and the United Nations warning that it has a looming $1.36 billion deficit and may not be able to pay its civil servants at the end of this year.

[Just the News] Deja vu, nation wide
This week's Golden Horseshoe is awarded to the Biden Administration and members of Congress who voted for the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which includes $250 million for reducing truck emissions at port facilities, which have been crippled by record-breaking cargo backlogs for months.
Critics have attributed the bottlenecks to draconian California emissions standards that exclude up to half the nation's truckers from transporting shipping containers to and from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, the nation's two busiest, which together account for close to one third of total U.S. shipping cargo volume.
The 2,000-plus page Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which President Biden is scheduled to sign on Monday, includes $50 million in funding per year for the next five fiscal years aimed at reducing emissions at ports.
Section 11402 of the bill, "Reduction of Truck Emissions at Port Facilities," calls for Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to "establish a program to reduce idling at port facilities."
The bill calls for the transportation secretary to study how "ports and intermodal port transfer facilities would benefit from increased opportunities to reduce emissions at ports, including through the electrification of port operations."
In particular, the secretary is to study emerging technologies and procedures that would help reduce emissions at ports from idling trucks.
The $250 million will fund ways to "test, evaluate, and deploy projects that reduce port-related emissions from idling trucks, including through the advancement of port electrification and improvements in efficiency, focusing on port operations, including heavy-duty commercial vehicles, and other related projects."
Port facilities may not only face new meddling from the Transportation Department, but the Environmental Protection Agency and the Energy Department may also be consulted by Buttigieg as part of the reduced emissions program, according to the text of the bill.
[ToloNews] Educational officials in Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... said that the attendance of girl students has dropped--with several weeks until the end of the school year--and they attribute this to the cancellation of the annual examination, a decision made by the provincial schoolteachers' council.
Based on the decision, the students would be directly inducted into their next scheduled grade.
"The student of grade seven will be directly promoted to grade eight. The students of grade 12 will be graduated from school," said Mohammad Sabir Mashal, head of the council. "And therefore some disorder is resulting at schools.
After a long delay in the resumption of secondary school and high school for girls, the government last week allowed the girl students from grade 7 to 12 to attend their schools in Herat province.
Herat is one of the seven provinces where girls of secondary and high school age are allowed to attend their schools. In 27 of 34 provinces, the girls from grade 7 to 12 are still not allowed.
However, facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable... some of the students urged the officials to include the annual examination of schools for this year. The students said that the cancellation of the examinations would affect the education system.
"The students of grade 12 have their university entrance ahead and they should have full preparation for entrance. When the private institutions are closed and they also don’t take our examinations, it really affects our future," said Mansoora Islmaili, a student of grade 12.
"When there is no examination, there is no motivation for studying. If there is no examination, we will not study our lessons" said Hamida Rasoli, another student.
The Islamic Emirate officials said earlier that they are working on ways to provide a safe environment for female students across the country.
Some teachers said that cancellation of examinations affects the morale of the students.
"If there is no education, there is no hope for the next year among the students. The motivation that the students have recently found will be lost again," said Halima Sarwari Nadira, a teacher.
[NPASYRIA] The Lead Inspector General (Lead IG) report to the United States Congress on Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) stressed the priority to combat the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) in northeast Syria.
The report covered the military operations’ details conducted in Syria by either Washington alone, or in partnership with the local forces between July 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021.
"In Syria, ISIS appeared to be consolidating in the desert and poised for increased activity in the next stage of its insurgency," the report said.
"The group [ISIS] also continued to focus activity in the al-Hol displaced persons camp, where it continued recruitment and indoctrination activities," it added.
The report pointed out that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with Coalition support, "continued improve security at detention facilities holding ISIS fighters."
additionally, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) continued to adjust stabilization projects in Syria due to reduced funding, according to the report.
The SDF runs 14 detention centers in northeastern Syria, where it is holding approximately 10,000 ISIS detainees, including about 8,000 Iraqis and Syrians.
And about 61% of them are being held in two centers run by the SDF Special Forces in the cities of Hasakah and al-Shaddadi, with the support of the Global Coalition to improve the capabilities sufficient to manage them.
[NPASYRIA] Ibrahim al-Ali, a resident of the village of Abu Wahl, 37 km east of Raqqa, northern Syria, drives his car to bring drinking water from an irrigation canal to his home, after the water station that was feeding his village and other nearby villages has been broken down since last year.
Residents of the villages of Abu Wahl, al-Tarifawi and Mleihan, east of Raqqa, are facing a complete interruption of drinking water as a result of a malfunction in the Abu Wahl water pumping station.
The station is located on an irrigation canal coming from the Euphrates River that used to irrigate these villages, but it has been suspended since last year due to an electrical failure.
Residents of the villages that were irrigated by the station suffer from traveling long distances to fetch water from the irrigation canal, while others buy it at exorbitant sums.
There are about 500 families in the three villages suffer from water shortage.
HARDSHIP AND EXTRA BURDEN Al-Ali added that he has a car, which he uses it to fetch water despite the hardship and fatigue since last year, but those who do not have an alternative will have to buy it at exorbitant prices.
The problem of water outage does not affect the residents only, but also the livestock, as they constantly need water, al-Ali noted.
Despite the numerous appeals and complaints made by the villagers to the water unit to repair the station, but nothing changed.
Last year, the station was working for a few hours that did not fully meet the needs of its beneficiaries due to the lack of electricity.
Al-Ali believes that connecting a service power line to the station after repairing its generator will make water permanently available to all residents of the three villages.
Khalil al-Muhammad, a resident of the village of Mleihan, 40 km east of Raqqa, said the families of his village have been facing difficulty in securing water since the station stopped, "The water is not safe for drinking and some cannot afford it and get clean water from other sources."
Some of the children in the three villages suffered from intestinal diseases resulting from the use of unsafe water they bring from the canal, or they buy it from tankers that are filled without filtering and sterilization, according to residents.
Since last winter, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... has reduced the flow of the Euphrates River towards Syrian territory, which has increased life problems and popular discontent in areas that depend on the river for drinking water and for irrigating agricultural lands.
Residents of the villages that were irrigated by the station are forced to buy drinking water from tankers at a price of 1,300 Syrian pounds per barrel, according to al-Muhammad.
He pointed out that he used to buy a barrel of water (220 liters) four months ago for 500 SYP, but with the increase in fuel prices, he is now buying it for 1,400 SYP (about $0.40).
Al-Muhammad hopes that the water unit will find a quick solution to ease the burden on the people who do not have access to water, "they face difficulty in affording water on a regular basis with daily necessities, especially after the deteriorating economic situation in Syria."
ONLY PROMISES, NO REAL ACTS Adnan al-Hazbar, official at the Hamrat and Karamah water unit of the Water Company in the Raqqa Civil Council, said the pump was working according to the hours of power delivery to the village, which ranged between one and two hours a day.
The power capacity that reached the station via the main lines was weak, which led to a malfunction.
Al-Hazbar added to North Press that there is a study for a project to install a service electric line for the pump.
The implementation of the project will start next week, and its completion period will be 20 days, according to the Hamrat and Karamah Water Unit.
Al-Hazbar indicated that if the station resumes service, it will operate continuously throughout the day.

[NPASYRIA] Ottoman Turkish threats to launch a military operation against the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) is the only option for Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important... to escape, after his meetings with the Russian and American presidents ended with no results, an official in the Green Idlib Council said on Sunday.
Ahmed Shawa, a relations official in the Green Idlib Council, said Erdogan’s marginal meetings with Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity, except maybe for abandoning Afghanistan... and Vladimir Putin ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... , which were without results, "made him threaten to launch a military operation targeting areas in northern Syria."
"The economic situation associated with the collapse of the Ottoman Turkish lira, the political tension, external conflicts with neighboring countries, and the expulsion of European ambassadors, have increased Erdogan’s intransigence," he added.
The pro-Autonomous Administration Green Idlib Council is an administrative center established in July 2019. Its main office is in Raqqa and it runs the affairs of the people of Idlib who displaced to other areas within the AANES-led areas.
"The Ottoman Turkish president is looking for a lifeline after a series of successive failures of his hostile policies in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Libya and the eastern Mediterranean," Shawa told North Press.
He pointed out that the military build-up sent by Ottoman Turkish forces, Syrian National Army (SNA) factions, and heavy mechanisms on the borders of the northern regions of the Autonomous Administration, "is the only destination for the Ottoman Turkish president’s escape policy after the regional horizon in the Middle East is blocked."
Regarding the dialogue with the Syrian government, Shawa said, the statements and positions issued by northeastern Syria are "clear and frank, and take place under the umbrella of the UN Resolution 2254 for a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Syria."
Shawa stated that the dialogue mechanism between the Syrian parties is the demand of every real Syrian, and is not dependent on any regional or international party.
"Dialogue is one of the most important factors for a real political solution that will bring Syria out of its crisis that spanned over the past ten years," the Green Idlib Council official concluded.

[IsraelTimes] Country’s first-ever direct presidential election, set to take place on December 24, follows years of violence and revolt that toppled the Libyan dictator in 2011
Seif al-Islam Qadaffy, son of slain Libyan dictator Muammar Qadaffy ...The late megalomaniac dictator of Libya, admired everywhere for his garish costumes, funny hats, harem of cutie bodyguards, and incoherent ravings. As far as is known, he is the only person who's ever declared jihad on Switzerland... , registered Sunday to run in the country’s December presidential polls, the electoral commission said.
"Seif al-Islam Qadaffy submitted... his candidacy for the presidential election to the High National Electoral Commission office in the [southern] city of Sebha," a statement by the commission said.
It said he had completed "all the required legal conditions" and that he was also issued with a voter registration card for the Sebha district.
Libya’s first-ever direct presidential poll, with a first round on December 24, is the climax of a process launched last year by the United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... to draw a line under years of violence since the revolt that toppled Qadaffy in 2011.
The long-awaited vote still faces challenges, including unresolved issues over election laws and occasional infighting among gangs. Other obstacles include the deep rift that remains between the country’s east and west, split for years by the war, and the presence of thousands of imported muscle and troops.
Libya opened registration for candidates on Monday.
In a video released by the elections office where he registered, Seif al-Islam addressed the camera said that God will decide the right path for the country’s future. He wore a traditional Libyan robe and turban and spectacles.
Seif al-Islam, 49, the second of Qadaffy’s eight children, was sentenced to death in July 2015 for his role in the murderous repression of the 2011 revolt. He was released from Libyan prison in 2017.
In July, Seif al-Islam emerged from years in the shadows and told The New York Times
... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... he was planning a political comeback.
In a rare interview, he said he wanted to "restore the lost unity" of Libya after a decade of chaos and did not rule out running for the presidency.
The dictator’s erstwhile heir apparent is wanted for crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Until the interview, Seif al-Islam had not been seen or heard from since June 2014, when he appeared via video link from Zintan, in the west of the country, during his trial by a Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... court.
Before 2011, the fluent English speaker often appeared in the West as the public face of his father’s regime. He held no official post but had influence as a loyal emissary of the regime and architect of reform.
Qadaffy the dictator had eight children in total, most of whom played significant roles in his regime.
His son Muatassim was killed at the same time Qadaffy was captured and slain. Two other sons, Seif al-Arab and Khamis, were killed earlier in the uprising. Another son, al-Saadi Qadaffy, was released in September after more than seven years of detention in the capital of Tripoli following his extradition from neighboring Niger.

Iraq stripped the citizenship of their their beauty queen, Sarah Idan, for taking a selfie with Miss Israel in whatever country was hosting the 2017 pageant. In the end Miss Idan and her family moved to America, where she became a singer.
[IsraelTimes] The South African government says it is dissociating itself from a decision by the reigning Miss South Africa to take part in the annual Miss Universe in Israel.
The decision came after growing calls for the reigning Miss South Africa to boycott the pageant over alleged Israeli rights violations against Paleostinians.
Local beauty pageant organizers have been adamant that the recently crowned Miss SA Lalela Mswane should go.
"It has proven difficult to persuade the Miss SA pageant organizers to reconsider their decision to partake in the Miss Universe event," the arts and culture ministry says in a statement.
The government therefore "withdraws its support," following the organizers’ "intransigence."
The pageant is slated to be held in the Red Sea resort town of Eilat on December 12.
"The atrocities committed by Israel against Paleostinians are well documented and government, as the legitimate representative of the people of South Africa, cannot in good conscience associate itself with such," the ministry says.
South Africa backs the Paleostinian cause, with formal diplomatic relations established in 1995, a year after the end of apartheid.
It downgraded its embassy in Tel Aviv in 2019 and pulled out its ambassador.
Miss SA pageant organizers last week argued that the Miss Universe pageant is not a "politically inspired event."
Forging ahead could "prove disastrous to her (Mswane’s) future and public standing as a young, black woman," warns Arts Minister Nathi Mthethwa.
In a statement, the ruling ANC party urged the organizers "to hear and listen to the overwhelming call for the Miss South Africa team to boycott the upcoming apartheid Israel hosted Miss Universe."
Which would explain how South Africa, a country responsible for 100's of Anti-White and tribal based atrocities over the last 30 years, would be stupid enough to say this.

Miss SA Lalela Mswane should go; competitors all should consider accepting her presence, and issue a statement regarding the toxicity of government meddling in what essentially is a sponsored international event, and that the rights of individuals to live their lives free from the political imagination of unelected autocrats insults all participants, not just the South African contestant.

[NPASYRIA] On Sunday, four people were maimed in artillery shelling carried out by Syrian government forces on the opposition factions-held areas east of Idlib, northwest Syria.
"The government forces bombed the towns of al-Ruwaiha and Taftanaz, south and east of Idlib," North press reported sources in the Civil Defense (White Helmets) of the opposition.
"Four people in the town of Taftanaz were maimed with varying severity injuries, where they were taken to nearby medical points for treatment," the sources added.
North Press, however, was unable to verify the validity of the information from other sources.
Earlier today, the government forces, stationed in the town of Kafranbel and its checkpoints, bombed the faction’s positions in the villages and towns of al-Fatira, Kafr Oweid, Sfuhen, Kansafra and Fleifel in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, with heavy artillery and rockets, North Press reported military sources in the opposition.
The bombardment hit the opposition moves near al-Sermaniyah and Dweir al-Akrad, west of Hama, in addition to areas in Jabal al-Akrad north of Latakia.
For months, areas in Syria’s northwest have been witnessing mutual shelling between parties to the conflict in different areas amid news on government military reinforcements to different areas in the region.
Although the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Ottoman Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.

[VK] Following the talks at the level of the heads of the foreign ministries, Washington and Kiev signed a charter“ on strategic partnership ”. This happened on another wave of accusations against Russia, which, according to the Americans, "is preparing an invasion of Ukraine." The US allegedly transferred information on this matter to the EU. What is it - ethereal fears or the announcement of your own provocation?

Are we prepared to go to war to defend the current political configuration in Ukraine?
Really?
In defense of what vital interest of the United States?
Can anyone say?
Or is it because we're upholding some new strategic doctrine that this president recently articulated in a major speech?
If so, I missed it. Or is it just the Biden Shit-Yer-Pants Doctrine?

Ok so Putin's not "innocent." Must sternly-word him. Bad Vlad!
But warships in the Black Sea? Why? To preserve what, exactly, in Ukraine-- freedom of ... this newly vital SLOC? Our brother-Slavs in Kiev?
Or are they now GoodWhites and Russian speakers in the east are BadWhites?
The obvious solution to this mess would have been to partition that miserable country and demilitarize it -- no nukes, no standing armies, and no prospect, ever, of Ukrainian NATO membership. That's what Bush the Elder, Major, Kohl and Mitterrand's governments all promised Gorbachev.
They lied. Or more precisely it was Clinton and his mendacious assholes who overreached and overruled and pushed NATO into Russia's backyard. That was over YELTSIN's strenuous objections, not Putin's. Long before anyone ever heard of Putin.
We didn't create this dumpster fire, but we just pushed it, Joseph Rosenbaum-like, right up to the gas pumps.
Can we stop being so f--king stupid in our post-Soviet Russia policy? For once?

[BBC] Three men have been arrested under the Terrorism Act after a man was killed in a car explosion outside Liverpool Women's Hospital.
A taxi carrying one passenger pulled up just before 11:00 GMT - as a national two minutes' silence for Remembrance Sunday was due to begin - and exploded.
The passenger was declared dead at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
The male driver was injured and is in hospital in a stable condition.
Detectives from Counter Terrorism Police North West said three men - aged 29, 26 and 21 - were detained in the Kensington area of the city.
They said they were continuing to keep an open mind about the cause of the blast and were working with Merseyside Police as the investigation continued "at pace". The security service, MI5, is also assisting.
Armed officers have carried out raids on properties in Rutland Avenue near Sefton Park, and Boaler Street in Kensington.
Specialist officers remain outside the property in Rutland Avenue, in an operation police say is linked to the explosion. A large cordon is in place and a number of residents have been evacuated.
Police negotiators are on the scene and a fire crew is on standby.
The BBC has some photos, but the only interesting one is posted here at the top of the article.
Courtesy of Grains Thoth4833, with the usual Daily Mail plethora of photos, videos, and a map:
Taxi driver, named locally as David Perry, apparently locked suicide bomber in his car after seeing explosives
Three men were later arrested as part of a terror probe after a taxi pulled up and then exploded in Liverpool
One person died, one injured in explosion reported at 10:59am, seconds before 11am Remembrance silence
Armed police officers swarmed Boaler Street in Kensington, Liverpool where they arrested the three suspects
Armed police also sealed off Rutland Avenue near Sefton Park in a raid thought to be part of the terror probe
The incident took place as a Remembrance service involving more than 2,000 military personnel, veterans and civic dignitaries, was happening at the city's cathedral less than a mile away.
A close friend of Mr Perry's told MailOnline the family believe the original target was the Remembrance service: 'The passenger asked David to go to the cathedral so we believe that was the intended target. But they got stuck in heavy traffic so the passenger asked to go to the hospital instead.'
Unconfirmed reports on social media suggested Mr Perry averted disaster by locking his passenger inside. Stephen Thomas said online: 'The taxi driver is my mate, and he spotted the passenger acting suspicious. He's in hospital, luckily he escaped just before but he did suffer some injuries.'
Kev Cuthbertson also wrote on Facebook: 'It's my mate who got blown up. He's in a bad, bad way. He's a fellow driver on delta. He's had his ear sewn back on, got burns and shrapnel wounds and other pretty serious injuries. He is a hero. When he noticed the bomb, he locked the scumbag in the car. But took the brunt of the blast.'
Armed police late on Sunday arrested three men, aged 29, 26 and 21, in Sutcliffe Street, off Boaler Street, in the Kensington area of Liverpool as part of a terror probe into the incident. Detectives and Army bomb disposal experts are investigating whether the blast was triggered by a suicide bomber. The timing of the incident, at 10.59am on Poppy Day, is being examined.

[AlAhram] Egypt’s religious authorities have issued a decision banning direct donations in mosques nationwide, ending the long-time practice of putting charity in "donation boxes" at the worship houses.
Egypt has been fighting radical Islamist groups that have for decades used donation boxes in some mosques as a source of finance as there was no control or supervision on how those donations were used.
Citizens can now donate directly to two-official accounts at the Central Bank of Egypt opened by the Religious Endowment Ministry. One of the accounts is dedicated to mosque maintenance while the other is for social charity.
Many Moslem worshipers like to donate cash at mosques, as a good deed, for the repairing of mosques or social services, including holding Koran recitation lessons or providing charity services for the surrounding community.

[IsraelTimes] Israeli officials believe the coming 48 hours will be critical in seeking to secure the release of an Israeli couple detained in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... after photographing a presidential palace, according to television reports.
That’d be Natalie and Mordi Oknin, city bus drivers, who snapped their cameras just as the Turks reached peak mad about being laughed at for setting 200 government agents to follow 15 Arab spies for an entire year under the mistaken impression that they were Mossad agents.
Channel 13 news says officials believe that if not the saga is not resolved in the next two days, the couple could remain in Ottoman Turkish custody for years.
The network also reports that other Israelis have been snapping photos of the palace in Istanbul without incident. And a Ottoman Turkish journalist tells Channel 12 that thousands of people would be facing espionage charges if taking pictures of the palace is considered to be an act of spying.
A separate report by Channel 12 news quotes unnamed diplomatic officials saying they have been unable to get a response from Turkey on the matter.
Earlier, a Channel 13 news news hound was detained while broadcasting live from Turkey. The news hound, Ali Mograbi, was later released.
Mograbi says it was noticeable that coppers were tailing him all day.
When he started a live broadcast in the street they came and told him to stop. They then took him and made sure he deleted all the photos he had taken before releasing him and telling him not to leave the hotel, he says.
