Cowboys Star Not Vaccinated; Not Fired
[Dallas Morning News] Amari Cooper was polite, laughing even, when talking about his recent issues with the coronavirus during a Friday afternoon conference call with reporters. The virus cost the Cowboys wide receiver two games, limited his playing time during his first game back and raised questions about his thought process.
It was the NFL's protocols that cost him two games. Later Cooper says he could've played.
After all this, we covidians still are left to wonder why Cooper decided not to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

"This is a personal choice," Cooper said. "A personal choice not to. I don’t really want to go too far in-depth about that simply because I’ve noticed it’s not a good topic to talk about. I think I learned a long time ago to avoid conversations that would just lead to arguments and quarrels and it seems like that’s all that’s been doing whether it’s in person or social media and stuff like that. I just avoid talking about it."

It’s interesting how a public health issue such as the coronavirus has turned into a debate about an individual’s right to get vaccinated or not. On the Cowboys’ 53-man roster, there are just two known unvaccinated players, linebacker Keanu Neal and Cooper. Both have tested positive for the virus.
I Deleted a long soliloquy about how safe it is, important, consult your medical professional, and so on.
Cooper, like most professional athletes, has access to the best medical care. Yet he elected to refuse the vaccination. Team medical officials can’t force surgery, treatment or even vaccinations on any player. If a team doctor says surgery is recommended, a player can get a second opinion or refuse it. That’s a player’s right.

That’s the case for an injury. What about public health issues that unnecessarily - see Sweden shut down the world? Even that can’t force players to get vaccinated.

Speaking of that game, Cooper told the Cowboys’ website in a postgame interview he could have played with the symptoms. He compared it to Michael Jordan playing with the flu during Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals.

"I was sick and I was saying I was sick like how Jordan was sick," Cooper said. "When I had COVID it wasn’t as sick as I’ve ever been. So I felt like I could have still went out there and played.”

We're guys. We play to win. It's in our genes. Can't be giving up in the middle of the mammoth hunt. No mammoth, no dinner. Broken ankle? Walk it off. Arterial bleeding? Don't be such a wuss. Can't let the tribe down.

But from a public health microbiology standpoint, you're totally right. If you are sick, stay the f**k home!

Six-time NBA champions don't do that sort of thing, and he's probably more psychotic than Larry Bird about winning. Amari's dead on - I've always regarded this as no worse than the flu; the IFR's (infection / fatality rates) are similar.

Charlottesville: Lessons in Leftist Sadism and Media Dishonesty
[News With Views] This is a book I was anxious to read. The author is the daughter of respected Southern historian Clyde N. Wilson, the leading authority on John C. Calhoun. I had a boots-on-the-ground source for information on what really happened on August 12, 2017 (relayed here and here). I became even more convinced that CNN (for example) is a lie factory.

The year 2017 was a turning point. The unholy globalist-leftist alliance having lost the presidency in 2016, its denizens wanted revenge. Antifa and Black Lives Matter became increasingly violent. Corporate mass media invariably blamed race-related mayhem on "fascists," "white supremacists," "white nationalists," "Nazis." I knew of just one case where such a description might have been veridical: Dylann Roof shooting nine black people in North Charleston, S.C., which prompted a new wave of cancellations of Southern culture when a photograph surfaced of Roof posing with a Confederate flag. Black-on-white violence, which has always far exceeded white-on-black violence, continued to go unreported except on alternative sites that are now up against Big Tech censorship.

With that as background, Anne Wilson Smith’s book is a welcome treatment of Unite the Right, and what happened that day. It is the only thing I’ve seen that even attempts fair-mindedness. Critics will say she is sympathetic to Jason Kessler, et al. Of course she’s sympathetic! Has anyone else given them half a chance? Wilson Smith pointedly asks:

Kamela Casts Tie-Breaker Vote
[Epoch Times] Vice President Kamala Harris cast a tie-breaking vote on Wednesday to confirm Biden’s nominee Rachael Rollins
...one of the Soros collection of district attorneys...
as U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts over the objection of all 50 Senate Republicans.

Rollins was previously the District Attorney (DA) for Suffolk County, and in that role Rollins was exceedingly lenient, refusing to prosecute those charged with several violent crimes.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) objected to the nomination on the Senate floor, calling Rollins a "left-wing prosecutor."

"Many Americans have probably never heard of Rachael Rollins," Cruz began. "But they are becoming very familiar with the kind of lawlessness and dangerous crime that radical left-wing district attorneys like [Rollins] have generated."

Cruz continued, "Under their watch, we’ve seen looting, and larceny, and violent crime rates rise in cities all over the country the past couple of years." DAs like Rollins, Cruz said, "see it as their job not to prosecute crime, [but] to protect criminals."

In fact, cities across the country have seen a rise in crime and a drop in enforcement of the law since the summer of 2020.

In a 2019 memo from Rollins’ time as DA, she gave her staff a list of 15 common offenses which she said "should be declined or dismissed pre-arraignment without conditions. The presumption is that charges that fall into this category should always be declined."

In other words, Rollins used her position of power to refuse to enforce the law for a laundry list of crimes, including, among others, trespassing, shoplifting, larceny, disorderly conduct, receiving stolen property.

Killer tornadoes rip through swath of Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Illinois: Two reported dead and dozens injured as roof collapses at Amazon distribution center
[MAIL] Tornadoes ripped across the South and Midwest on Friday, leaving a path of destruction that killed a nursing home resident in Arkansas and another person in Missouri, trapped workers inside a collapsed Amazon warehouse in Illinois and devastating the town of Mayfield, Kentucky - where people caught in the wreckage of a candle factory begged to be freed from the rubble.

One person was killed in Missouri, in rural St. Charles County, when buildings collapsed near the town of Defiance.

In Arkansas, one person was killed in a nursing home in Monette, according to KARK.

Crews at the scene reported the Monette nursing home had partially collapsed, with five others injured and as many as 20 people trapped, according to Craighead County Judge Marvin Day.

Initial reports said two were dead but within two hours, the building had been cleared and everyone initially believed to have been inside had been accounted for, Day said.

'It looks like it's pretty much destroyed,' Day said of the building.

Economy
World Economy Entering Period of Oil Scarcity, Halliburton CEO Says
[Business & Economy VIA ET] Halliburton CEO and president Jeff Miller made waves on Monday predicting that the world is due for a period of oil scarcity in comments at the World Petroleum Congress in Houston, Texas.

"I think that for the first time in a long time, we will see a buyer looking for a barrel of oil, as opposed to a barrel of oil looking for a buyer," Miller said.

Since 2014, the oil industry has generally deemphasized building new infrastructure in the face of low prices. However, that trend may now catch up with the industry, which now finds demand for oil exceeding the available supply given current infrastructure.

Some analysts have speculated that it is increasingly likely that oil prices will soon climb to $100 per barrel, a price unseen in the past seven years and which has serious potential to disrupt the economy.

An additional factor contributing to predicted oil scarcity is a labor shortage in the fossil fuel industry surpassing that in the general economy.

The widespread perception that fossil fuels will be marginalized in the future of energy and transportation makes long-term careers in petroleum unattractive to young workers, with many oil workers seeking to switch to renewables or leave the energy industry outright.

A recent survey revealed that 43 percent of oil industry employees sought to transition to other sectors in the next five years, as reported by Reuters.

As baby boomer employees retire, the industry struggles to replace them with young workers, who see the oil industry as unfavorable to long-term careers because of concerns about climate change models, and pressure by politicians, environmentalists, and investors to transition to renewable energy sources.

This combination of infrastructural underinvestment and labor shortages is likely to result in an oil supply stretched thin to meet demand, resulting in higher prices and possible shortages.

With oil extraction occurring at a significant time lag from industry investment and the skill shortage in the labor industry showing no signs of abating, there are major reasons to believe that any scarcity in oil supplies could last long into the future.

COVID-19 a Pandemic of Fear ‘Manufactured' by Authorities: Yale Epidemiologist
[ET] The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of fear, manufactured by individuals who were in the nominal positions of authority as the virus began to spread across the globe last year, according to Yale epidemiologist Dr. Harvey Risch.

In an appearance on Epoch TV’s "American Thought Leaders" program, Risch, an epidemiology professor at the Yale School of Public Health and Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, argued that by and large, what has characterized the entire CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic has been a "degree of fear and people’s response to the fear."

"Overall, I’d say that we’ve had a pandemic of fear. And fear has affected almost everybody, whereas the infection has affected relatively few," said Risch.

"By and large, it’s been a very selected pandemic, and predictable. It was very distinguished between young versus old, healthy versus chronic disease people. So we quickly learned who was at risk for the pandemic and who wasn’t.

"However, the fear was manufactured for everybody. And that’s what’s characterized the whole pandemic is that degree of fear and people’s response to the fear."

Risch has authored more than 300 original peer-reviewed publications and was formerly a member of the board of editors for the American Journal of Epidemiology.

#1  Yes, exactly. This is the same conclusion that honest and expert epidemiologists around the world have come to -- like this one:

"As long as the majority of infections are among the healthy, the more dangerous variants circulating among some of the bedridden will be outnumbered and will become evolutionary dead ends.

"But when public health officials intentionally restricted spread among the young, strong, and healthy members of society by imposing lockdowns, they created a set of evolutionary conditions that risked shifting the competitive evolutionary advantage from the least dangerous variants to more dangerous variants. By locking us all up, they risked making the virus more dangerous over time. "
Posted by: Merrick Ferret || 12/11/2021 9:30 Comments || Top||

#2  More common sense from the above author at Briwnstobe.org:

"...fear mongering about the Delta variant being even more contagious leaves out the fact that this is exactly what you would expect as a respiratory virus adapts to its new host species. We would expect new variants to be more contagious but less deadly as the virus fades to become just like the other 200+ respiratory viruses that cause common colds and flus.

"That’s also why the decision to lock down the healthy population is so sinister. Lockdowns, border closures, and social distancing rules reduced spread among the healthy population, thus creating a situation where mutations produced among the healthy would become sufficiently rare that they might be outnumbered by mutations circulating among the bedridden. Mutations circulating among the healthy are, by definition, going to be the least dangerous mutations since they did not make their hosts sick enough to confine them to bedrest. That’s precisely the variants you want to spread in order to drown out competition from more dangerous mutations. "

-Short Attention Span Theater-
A look ahead: Predictions for 2022
[American Thinker] If we thought 2019 was weird and 2020 worse, 2021 was off the charts. What will 2022 bring?

January 1: Americans gladly say goodbye to 2021 yet welcome the New Year with skepticism and trepidation.

January 17: Democratic governors in five states sign legislation in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day making it a crime for a person not to immediately acknowledge the color of any other person with whom he interacts. Punishment for people "of color" (POC) will be waived. Whites, however, will be sentenced to up to $10,000 in fines and/or one year of imprisonment.

January 25: New Barack Obama autobiography hits bookstores.

January 29: Last three Americans abandon their New Year's resolutions.

February 1: The Biden administration celebrates the Chinese New Year. Joe, Jill, and Hunter get take-out kung pao chicken, pot-stickers, and fried rice...and attempt to eat with chopsticks. The president calls Xi Jinping to wish him a happy new year and asks him what his New Year's resolution is. Xi tells Biden it is to take Taiwan. Biden distractedly wishes him good luck and asks him about egg rolls.

February 3: The Democratic Congress passes a bill changing the name of the erstwhile federal holiday "Presidents' Day" to "FDR, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama Day."

February 12: BLM observes Lincoln's birthday by burning Springfield, Illinois to the ground.

February 21: Americans observe "FDR, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama Day."

And on it goes.

Iran says probing if IAEA cameras had role in alleged Israeli attack on nuke site
[IsraelTimes] Tehran’s envoy to Britannia asks UN nuclear watchdog to be patient with investigation, after refusing to let surveillance equipment damaged in strike at Karaj be repaired

Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
has said it was investigating the possibility that the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency’s cameras played a part in an alleged Israeli attack on an Iranian nuclear facility, suggesting this was the reason for Tehran’s refusal of requests to repair the damaged surveillance equipment there.

"There was a sabotage there by Israel and some cameras were damaged and there was some investigation going on," Iran’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mohsen Baharvand, said during a briefing in London on Friday, according to Bloomberg.

He added that Iranian judiciary Sherlocks looked into whether the cameras may have been used to aid the attack. "We just asked IAEA to wait for a time for that investigation to be over," Baharvand said.

Last month, the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
nuclear watchdog "categorically" denied its cameras were used in the June drone attack that reportedly hit the Iran Centrifuge Technology Company in the city of Karaj, northwest of Tehran, after Iran said it was investigating the possibility.

The IAEA "Director General categorically rejects the idea that Agency cameras played a role in assisting any third party to launch an attack on the TESA Karaj complex," a report by the IAEA seen by AFP read.

Iran told the IAEA that "its ’security and judicial authorities’ were investigating whether the snuffies have used the Agency cameras to launch an attack on the complex,’" the report in November said.

According to the IAEA , the blast destroyed one of its cameras at the site and heavily damaged another. It is unknown how many cameras are there.

In September, Iran acknowledged that it had removed several damaged surveillance cameras installed by the IAEA at the Karaj site. It has since refused requests to repair the surveillance equipment damaged in the June attack.

In July, Iran accused Israel of mounting the sabotage attack on the site, which makes components for machines used to enrich uranium. Without disclosing details of the assault, Iranian authorities acknowledged the strike had damaged the building.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinian said killed in clashes with IDF near West Bank outpost
[IsraelTimes] PA health ministry reports Jamil Abu Ayyash was shot in the head; military says aware of reports Paleostinian killed during violent mostly peaceful protest

A Paleostinian man in his 30s was killed by live fire during festivities with Israeli soldiers near the West Bank town of Beita, the Paleostinian Authority health ministry reported Friday.

Paleostinian media reports identified the man as Jamil Abu Ayyash.

According to the health ministry, Ayyash was shot in the head. Paleostinians evacuated him to the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, where he died of his wounds.

Four other Paleostinians were maimed by rubber-coated bullets, according to the Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy. Another 63 Paleostinians were treated for minor injuries from tear gas inhalation and falling over during the protest, the medical service said.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that soldiers and Border Police officer responded to a violent mostly peaceful protest near the Evyatar outpost. Hundreds of Paleostinians took part in the festivities, including some who burned tires and threw stones at troops, according to the IDF.

The military said it was aware of reports regarding a Paleostinian killed.

Beita residents have been holding regular protests near neighboring Evyatar for the past several months in protests of the illegal outpost’s establishment on what they say is private Paleostinian land. Israeli authorities have not yet determined whether that is the case, but have not objected to the outpost’s illegal establishment.

The wildcat community initially consisted of several dozen Israeli families and homes, but they agreed to vacate in a July agreement with the government, which saw the outpost illegal structures remain intact and the army establish a permanent presence on the hilltop.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch cautiously raised his hat over the edge of the horse trough on the end of a stick......
the protests continue. More than 700 Paleostinians have been injured and with Friday’s reported death, the number of Paleostinians killed since the unrest erupted in May climbed to at least nine, according to the PA health ministry.

Europe
German police foil terror plot in Hamburg
[DW] A man with Islamist connections was arrested before he was able to carry out a planned attack. Police found material that could have been used in a potentially deadly bomb.

German police revealed on Friday that they prevented a planned Islamist attack in the northern city of Hamburg over the summer.

Andy Grote, top security official for the city, which like the cities of Berlin and Bremen is a state in its own right, said that the plot had been "very, very serious."

On August 26, police arrested a 20-year-old German-Moroccan man after he tried to buy a firearm and hand grenade on the dark web — unwittingly from an undercover investigator.

The man had "numerous contacts to the Salafi-Islamist scene," Grote said in a presser.

BOMB-BUILDING MATERIAL FOUND
The suspect has been in detention since August after a judge ruled that he had been planning to carry out an attack, police said.

Investigators later searched a flat used by the man and found an array of chemicals and shrapnel used in bomb-making. Such a bomb could have caused "serious or evenly deadly injuries" according to the police.

Authorities also found Islamist propaganda videos and instructions for building a bomb at his parents' flat.

Further raids were carried out on suspected contacts across Germany resulting in the confiscation of phones, tablets and hard drives.

The man faces up to 10 years in prison. According to Hamburg's chief prosecutor Jörg Fröhlich, he was yet to comment on the allegations.

CONNECTIONS TO SEPTEMBER 11 ATTACKS
The police received tips from people inside the Islamist community. The man's father was also already known to security authorities because of to the role he once played in the al-Quds Mosque where several of the plotters of the September 11 attacks met.

The father is also believed to have met one of the attackers, Mohammed Atta.

The suspect, who is a German citizen, returned to Germany last year after completing his school studies in Morocco.

He took part in a pre-university course in the city of Wismar, but failed it. His peers described him as an introverted loner who went regularly to the Mosque and never spoke to women.

He drew the interest of authorities after getting in touch with Islamists based in a Mosque in the district of Harburg in the northern port city.

UK considers repaying Iran debt as nuclear talks continue
Pay jizya, O Unbelievers!
[Rudaw] The UK government is in discussions about how to repay historic debt to Iran, Tehran's ambassador to London said on Friday, adding to comments made by the UK's foreign secretary earlier this week as the seventh round of negotiations to establish the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) continue in Vienna amid escalating tensions and talks of military intervention.

Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
is in talks with the British foreign office regarding the £400 million ($530 million) debt Britannia owes the country regrading 1,500 tanks that were never delivered over 40 years ago, Mohsen Baharvand, Iran’s ambassador to London, told news hounds in the British capital on Friday, adding that a deal to repay the debt was established this summer, "but two days after the signature of that deal the UK government said they could not implement it because of US sanctions."

As leaders continue their attempts to salvage the JCPOA between Iran and the US, Britannia, Russia, China, La Belle France and Germany, the UK’s foreign secretary outlined her foreign policy priorities and pledged to "work night and day to prevent the Iranian regime from ever getting a nuclear weapon" in a major speech at a Chatham House event in London on Wednesday.

In a question and answer session with the audience, Liz Truss was pressed on why the British government had still not paid the outstanding, legitimate £400 million debt and whether it could be used as a gesture of goodwill to the Iranians during ongoing attempts to resurrect the JCPOA.

The foreign secretary responded by accepting that the £400 million Britannia owes Iran is a "legitimate debt", and told the audience that the government "do want to pay this debt" and are indeed seeking to "resolve the issue."

The debt has been repeatedly linked to the ongoing incarceration of UK-Iranian dual national Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, detained in Iran since April 2016, with her husband Richard Ratcliffe claiming his wife has been imprisoned as leverage over the debt and calling her case "a political game."

"I’m also pressing for the return of our unfairly detained British nationals, including Nazanin," the foreign secretary said.

Truss took the opportunity to stress again that this week’s talks in Vienna was their "last chance" to revive a nuclear deal, and she urged the country to sign up to the 2015 nuclear deal, saying it was in their interest to do so.

Iraq
Over 3,000 Iraqi, Kurdish migrants return from Belarus
[Rudaw] A plane carrying over 400 Iraqi and Kurdish migrants colonists from Minsk arrived at Erbil International Airport on Friday, bringing the total of migrants colonists who have voluntarily returned from Belarus since last month to over 3,000.

"At 14:15, the Iraqi Airways [plane] took off from Minsk National Airport to Erbil," the Belarusian airport said in a statement published on its Telegram channel on Friday. In a previous announcement the airport said the number of passengers stood at 417, including two children under the age of two.

The plane arrived at Erbil International Airport around 5pm, according to a Rudaw news hound on the ground.

After thousands of Iraqi and Kurdish people traveled to the Belarus-Poland borders in recent months, in an attempt to reach Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and build better lives, their difficult conditions on the borders attracted the attention of international media and leaders. Several migrants colonists have died on the border so far.

Erbil and Baghdad, who have accused Minsk of exploiting the migrants colonists for political gains against the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, began offering free flights to those who chose to return voluntarily last month.

So far, over 3,000 people have returned from Minsk through several flights since mid-November.

The exodus of Kurds is part of a migrant crisis that has compelled European nations to fortify their borders. Tensions are high between Belarus and Europe. Poland has refused to take in any migrants colonists, instead of calling on them to return home.

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a phone call from the British Home Secretary Priti Patel on Thursday. They discussed the migration of people to Europe and crises related to the issue.

Barzani told Patel that the Kurdistan Region will "cooperate with the Iraqi federal government and European countries to encourage the voluntary return of migrants colonists," according to a statement from Barzani’s office.

Florida man allegedly tries to settle some business with flamethrower
[Washington Examiner] Andre Abrams, 57, was accused of firing off a flamethrower to get his point across. The Gainesville resident allegedly aimed it at three teenagers Nov. 30 after being incensed over a dispute about the parking habits of his neighbors, according to a report .

The suspect faces three counts of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intention to kill, legal documents noted.

A mother of one of the teenagers involved spoke out about the alleged assault.

"When he shoots it, it lights the whole road up," Gainey said. "It’s like it’s daylight outside. He’ll do it in the middle of the night."

Abrams's bond was set to $15,000 earlier in December.

Deafening Silence: Top Democrats Hush as Left-Wing Kellogg's Company Set to Replace American Union Workers
[Breitbart] House and Senate Democrats who have claimed to be champions for labor unions are silent as the Kellogg Company, whose largest shareholder is the left-wing W.K. Kellogg Foundation, is set to replace about 1,400 American union workers who have been on strike since October.

American union workers employed at Kellogg’s have been striking as of October 5, protesting what they say are grueling working conditions at plants in Battle Creek, Michigan; Omaha, Nebraska; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Memphis, Tennessee.
Grueling conditions at a cereal plant?
The workers and their union, the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers’ International Union (BCTGM), allege that Kellogg’s executives have threatened to move manufacturing to Mexico in an effort to bust up their striking.

In October, a BCTGM union representative said Kellogg’s "continues to threaten to send additional jobs to Mexico if workers do not accept outrageous proposals that take away protections that workers have had for decades."

Afghanistan
U.S. Commander: Al-Qaida Numbers in Afghanistan Up 'Slightly'
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The al-Qaeda turban group has grown slightly inside Afghanistan since U.S. forces left in late August, and the country's new Taliban
...Arabic for students...
leaders are divided over whether to fulfill their 2020 pledge to break ties with the group, the top U.S. commander in the region said.

Marine Gen. Frank McKenzie, head of U.S. Central Command, said in an interview with The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that the departure of U.S. military and intelligence assets from Afghanistan has made it much harder to track al-Qaeda and other turban groups inside Afghanistan.

"We're probably at about 1 or 2% of the capabilities we once had to look into Afghanistan," he said, adding that this makes it "very hard, not impossible" to ensure that neither al-Qaeda nor the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group's Afghanistan affiliate can pose a threat to the United States.

Speaking at the Pentagon, McKenzie said it's clear that al-Qaeda is attempting to rebuild its presence inside Afghanistan, which was the base from which it planned the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks against the United States. He said some bully boyz are coming into the country through its mostly non-existent borders, but it is hard for the U.S. to track numbers.

The U.S. invasion that followed the Sept. 11 attacks led to a 20-year war that succeeded initially by removing the Taliban from power but ultimately failed. After President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier. Of course Corn Pop is a real person....
announced in April that he was withdrawing completely from Afghanistan, the Taliban systematically overpowered Afghan government defenses and seized Kabul, the capital, in August.

McKenzie and other senior U.S. military and national security officials had said before the U.S. withdrawal that it would complicate efforts to keep a lid on the al-Qaeda threat, in part because of the loss of on-the-ground intelligence information and the absence of a U.S.-friendly government in Kabul. The U.S. says it will rely on Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s from drones and other aircraft based beyond Afghanistan's borders to respond to any turban threats against the U.S. homeland.

McKenzie said no such strikes have been conducted since the U.S. completed its withdrawal from Afghanistan on Aug. 30. He added that America's ability to conduct such strikes is based on the availability of intelligence, overhead imagery and other information and communications, "and that architecture is still being developed right now."

Al-Qaeda is among numerous turban groups inside Afghanistan. After 2001, it lost most of its numbers and its ability to directly threaten U.S. territory, but McKenzie said it retains "an aspirational desire" to attack the United States. During their first period of rule in Kabul, from 1996 to 2001, the Taliban gave haven to al-Qaeda and refused Washington's demand after 9/11 to expel the group and turn over its leader, the late Osama bin Laden
...... who doesn't live anywhere anymore......
. The Taliban and al-Qaeda have maintained ties ever since.

"So we're still trying to sort out exactly how the Taliban is going to proceed against them, and I think over the month or two it'll become a little more apparent to us," he said.

Similarly, McKenzie said it's not yet clear how strongly Taliban will go after the Islamic State group, also known as ISIS, which has violent mostly peacefully attacked the Taliban across the country. The United States blamed ISIS for an Aug. 26 suicide kaboom at Kabul airport that killed 13 American service members in the final days of the U.S. evacuation.

ISIS was "reinvigorated," McKenzie said, by the release of numerous ISIS fighters from Afghan prisons in mid-August. He said both ISIS and al-Qaeda are recruiting from inside and outside Afghanistan.

"So certainly we should expect a resurgent ISIS. It would be very surprising if that weren't the case," he said, adding, "It remains to be seen that the Taliban are going to be able to take effective action against them."

He called al-Qaeda a more difficult problem for the Taliban because of their longstanding ties.

"So I think there are internal arguments inside the Taliban about the way forward," he said. "What we would like to see from the Taliban would be a strong position against al-Qaeda," which they promised as part of the February 2020 Doha agreement that committed the United States to fully withdrawing from Afghanistan. "But I don't believe that's yet been fully realized."

McKenzie declined to provide an estimate of the number of al-Qaeda operatives inside Afghanistan.

"I think it's probably slightly increased," he said. "There's a presence. We thought it was down pretty small, you know, toward the end of the conflict. I think some people have probably come back in. But it's one of the things we look at, but I wouldn't be confident giving you a number right now."

Negotiations between Putin and Biden: what did the leaders of the superpowers agree on?
Direct Transalation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Oleg Tsarev
[Rusvesna] So, perhaps, the most anticipated meeting of the leaders of the two modern superpowers has come to an end . And although the bulk of the communication between Putin and Biden remained outside the scope of the general public's attention, I think that even from the little that we know, certain conclusions can be drawn.

Immediately: both supporters of "peace right in the morning" and supporters of an immediate war were hardly satisfied with the results of the talks between the presidents. It is not difficult to understand them: the situation of "neither peace, nor war", in which Ukraine and Donbass will be for a long time, is not very comfortable for anyone.

What is important for me personally: the suspension of the situation does not suit many Russian and Russian-speaking people, who now in Ukraine feel like second-class people. Now let's take a closer look at the situation. I'll make a reservation: not as easy as it might seem at first.

Merrick,

Let me suggest that the issue here isn't so much the Ukranians...but the Poles. Their 'never again' mindset is pretty much that of Israel, and if Putin ends up absorbing or politically controlling the Ukraine the Poles aren't going to be putting a whole lot of stock in a NATO promise to defend them. That might start a Big One faster than anything else - they are not going to listen to counsel to be calm, to negotiate, and not to provoke.

They've seen that movie, and they know how it ends.

Assuming that NATO were not on Russia's doorstep, what possible benefit would today's Russia -- not the "USSR" of Lloyd-have-mercy's fever dreams, or Magoo's delusions -- how exactly would Russia in 2021 or 2022 gain from dominating Poland?

Britain
Libyan Manchester Arena Bomber Had Strong Radicalising Influences
[LIBYAREVIEW] The Manchester Arena bomber had a number of strong radicalising influences, including his father, and older brother. He also took extended leave from school to join the conflict in Libya, an academic expert noted. According to Matthew Wilkinson, a Moslem convert and academic expert on extremism, Salman Abedi had "what you would call the sort of royal flush" of radicalising influences.
Salman was 2nd Gen, along with his brothers, cousins, and friends. Both his parents (Ramadan Abedi and Samia Tabbal, who trained as a nuclear scientist. It isn’t comforting that while in England Papa Ramadan worked in airport security), along with their relatives and friends, were involved in jihad — the elder generation in the Al Qaeda-linked Libyan Islamic Fighting Group in the 1990s, the younger with ISIS.
"They’re all there ready to go, and the catalysts were very virulent and aggressive, so the whole package was there," he told the bombing inquiry.

Abedi’s journey began in 2013, four years before the attack, but Wilkinson believes there were "moments of opportunity" when it could have been disrupted.
Oh, you sweet summer child. But go on, if it makes you happy.
"If several of those characteristics are lacking, it’s possible that someone wasn’t nudged into that world view in the first place, and that a good catalyst may lead to a completely other world view and outcome."

Wilkinson stated that education is "one of the major mechanisms" through which children of migrants colonists colonists, as well as migrants colonists colonists themselves, integrate into society, enhance their career possibilities, and get to know people.

Abedi, on the other hand, had "extremely low attendance rates." He was sent to Burnage Media Arts College’s ’inclusion’ section for damaging school property, before being permanently expelled.

In 2009, his parents took Salman and Hashem

Teachers told the investigation that Salman and his younger brother Hashem, who helped create the bomb, couldn’t focus in class and were easily distracted.

Wilkinson said Abedi had a "repeated pattern" of beginning to engage in formal schooling and then "dropping away, disengaging, and slipping into delinquency and even violence very fast."

Given the horrendous physical violence of these 2. They were charged with only Assault in the 2nd degree. Which is a Class B felony, under ORS 163.175.

While in Oregon, a person convicted of a Class B felony "could" be sentenced to up to 10 years in jail, and/or a fine up to $250,000. What do you think will happen?

So place your bets.
What will the Portland DA office ask the Judge for a sentencing?

A few years in Jail?
A few $1,000 fine and couple 100 hrs community service cleaning up Portland?

Or something even more Portland DA creatively Liberal?

Oh? Interesting.
The people would be given food ingredients and fuel in the winter season but this is the first year the people will receive cash.

Afghan representative of UNHCR in Khost province said that they will be given the money to over eight thousand families to address their needs in winter.

Thousands of families crossed Durand Line to Khost province after the Mighty Pak Army launched large-scale operations in Waziristan and the families are still living in the province bordering Pakistain.

Local authorities of UNHCR said that $345 will be given to each family that has a Pak ID.

They also said that UNHCR will give people extra cash who are willing to return to Waziristan.

In the meantime, the Taliban

Afghanistan
Taliban Accused Of Forcibly Evicting Ethnic Uzbeks, Turkmen In Northern Afghanistan
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Not even a hint of this in our usual Afghan sources, except the eviction of Hazeras in September and complaints from Panjshir Valley after the Talibs put down the rebellion.
Taliban
...Arabic for students...
fighters have been accused of forcibly evicting more than 1,000 people in northern Afghanistan, with the evictions targeting members of the ethnic Uzbek and Turkmen communities.

Ethnic Uzbeks and Turkmen allege that Pashtuns seized their homes and land in the northern province of Jowzjan with the help of the Taliban, a predominately Pashtun group.

The evictions came as Taliban fighters have expelled hundreds of Shi’ite Hazara
...a grouping of Dari-speaking people of Sino-Tibetan descent inhabiting Afghanistan and Pakistain. They are predominantly Shia Moslems and not particularly warlike, which makes them favored targets...
families from their homes and farms in five provinces since the bandidos holy warriors seized power in Afghanistan in August.

Rights groups say the Taliban’s forced displacement of residents is an attempt to distribute land to their own supporters and collectively punish communities that backed the former government.

Abdullah says he is among those who have been displaced in Darzab, a remote district in Jowzjan.

He says Taliban fighters accompanied by Pashtun nomads forced more than 1,000 ethnic Uzbeks and Turkmen from their homes and farms in Darzab and Qush Tepa, a neighboring district in Jowzjan, on November 27.

Abdullah, who requested that his real name not be used out of concern for his safety, told RFE/RL’s Radio Azadi that the provincial Taliban authorities had promised to send a delegation to investigate the alleged land seizures. But he said on December 8 that the delegation had yet to arrive.

"This has been our land for hundreds of years," he says. "We have cultivated it and it belongs to us."

Faizullah, a resident of Qush Tepa, says Pashtun nomads with the help of the Taliban seized more than 20,000 acres of their land.

"Nobody could resist," he says. "If we raised our voices, we would be killed."

Ghulam Sarwar Alizai, a representative for Pashtun nomads in Jowzjan, says land ownership is often unclear because the disputed properties are on government land.

He says the nomads want to return to the pastures that they were prevented from accessing for around two decades.

"Some of our [Uzbek and Turkmen] brothers acknowledge that the land is owned by the government, but they had worked hard to cultivate the barren land," he told Radio Azadi. "A tribal council comprising five people from each side will be the best setting to find a solution."

The Taliban did not respond to calls and text messages from RFE/RL seeking comment.

But in comments to the BBC on November 29, Taliban front man Bilal Karimi denied any forced displacements had taken place in Jowzjan.

"No such thing has happened and the situation in Qush Tepa is calm," he said, adding that the authorities were investigating the issue "and would not allow anyone or any group to encroach on anyone's property."

Disputed sample censuses dating back to the 1970s estimate the Pashtun population at just over 40 percent, followed by ethnic Tajiks at less than 30 percent with Hazara and Uzbeks at around 10 percent. Various smaller minorities account for the rest of the population.

Since regaining power, the Taliban has been accused of forcibly evicting thousands of people across the country.

In October, the Taliban forcibly evicted hundreds of Hazara families from southern Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
Province and the northern province of Balkh.

In late September, some 700 Hazara were forcibly evicted by the Taliban in the central province of Daikundi. The Taliban claimed that they were implementing a Taliban court order that required the land to be returned to what it said were its original owners.

The evictions have not only targeted non-Pashtuns. The Taliban also evicted fellow Pashtuns in the southern province of Kandahar. The evictions targeted those who had served in the former government or its armed forces.

"The Taliban should cease forcible evictions and adjudicate land disputes according to the law and a fair process," Patricia Gossman, associate Asia director at Human Rights Watch (HRW), told RFE/RL.

Gossman said northern Afghanistan has a long history of collective punishment and forced evictions. She said that after the U.S.-led invasion in 2001 toppled the Taliban regime from power, the U.S.-backed Northern Alliance "engaged in evictions of local Pashtuns."

The former Northern Alliance, a coalition of anti-Taliban groups that resisted Taliban rule from 1996 to 2001, consisted mainly of ethnic Tajiks, Uzbeks, and Hazara.

Before the Northern Alliance, the "Taliban did it against other groups," Gossman adds.

"Efforts after 2001 to reform the land ownership system failed because of the power of strongmen and warlords, including those in the administration and parliament," she said.

Many of the land disputes in northern Afghanistan are a legacy of the forced and voluntary resettlement of Pashtuns in the region in the 19th century. Starting from the 1880s, Afghan King Abdur Rahman Khan, a Pashtun from the south, forcibly relocated thousands of people from rival Pashtun communities from eastern Afghanistan to the north, where there was only a tiny Pashtun population. The Pashtun settlers were often given free land and received tax exemptions. In the 20th century, Pashtuns also voluntarily settled in northern Afghanistan.

"Both the forced and voluntary migrants colonists were allocated land by the central government, a development that fostered tensions with communities that consequently lost access to farmland and pastures," said a HRW report released in 2002.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, refugees from Central Asia also arrived in northern Afghanistan. Many of them fled Tsarist Russia’s invasion of Central Asia and the emergence of the Soviet Union.

Russia faces consequences if Ukraine invaded - UK's Foreign Sec Liz Truss
[BBC] Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has warned Russia it will face "severe economic consequences" if it invades Ukraine.

She said G7 foreign ministers meeting in Liverpool this weekend would put on a show of unity and make clear such a move would be a "strategic mistake".

Ms Truss said the UK and its allies had to "deter Russia from taking that course of action".

Tensions are growing as Moscow amasses troops on Ukraine's border - but the Kremlin has denied it plans to invade.

Reiterating previous warnings from the US and its allies, Ms Truss said the G7 "are going to absolutely be strong in our stance against aggression... with respect to Ukraine".

She added: "If Russia were to take that action, it would be a strategic mistake, and there will be severe consequences for Russia.

Stopped Clock Syndrome - The Bartender Gets one Right
[Wash Examiner via Insty] During a Wednesday House hearing, the New York congresswoman gave impassioned remarks railing against "civil asset forfeiture." This refers to various federal and local law enforcement practices wherein private citizens’ assets — such as cash, cars, or homes — are confiscated due to the mere suspicion they’re associated with criminal activity. Often this occurs without much due process at all.

"Civil forfeiture means that the government, law enforcement, etc., is allowed to take away your property — often your car or even your home — without an arrest, without criminal charges, and without ever going to court. And then the police can sell your property and use the proceeds as revenue."

#1  Basically "civil asset forfeiture" allows those most likely to take the $$$$ property, to have an incentive to be creative in taking it.

Remember, this law was originally created to strip Drug Dealers and Cartel of Illegally obtained $$$$/properties.

But a growing number of poorly funded (De-funded) Police Departments have used it creatively to supplement their budgets.

Example: If you were to test any 2 year old $20 bill on your pocket. About 92% would come up Positive for Cocaine or other Drug residue.

YOUTUBE - YOU ARE ALREADY A FELON

So you could get arrested, lose your car, just going into a bank and withdrawing $100 in small bills and walking out the door into shady cop waiting on the bank side walk.

PFIZER CEO ‐ 4th shot coming sooner than expected…
[CitizenFreePress] Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said today that people will need a fourth Covid Injection sooner than expected after research shows the Omicron variant can undermine protective antibodies generated by the vaccine.

Pfizer and BioNTech released results from an initial lab study Wednesday morning that showed a third shot is effective at fighting the omicron variant, while the initial two-dose vaccination series dropped significantly in its ability to protect against the new strain. However, the two-dose series likely still offers protection against getting severely sick from omicron, the companies said.

"When we see real-world data, will determine if the omicron is well covered by the third dose and for how long. And the second point, I think we will need a fourth dose," Bourla told CNBC.

Bourla previously projected that a fourth shot would be needed 12 months after the third dose. "With omicron we need to see because we have very little information. We may need it faster," he said.

One person died and 18 others were injured including two leading figures from Tunisia’s Islamist-inspired Ennahdha party in a fire at its headquarters
More on this story from yesterday.
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Ennahdha said on Facebook that one of its "activists," a former receptionist born in 1970, had died in the blaze.

The interior ministry said his "charred" body had been found in the building.
Tunisian media cited judiciary sources as saying the person had "set himself ablaze on the ground floor" of the building.

Former prime minister and Ennahdha Vice President Ali Laaryadh was hospitalized after jumping from the second floor of the building to escape the flames, as was advisory board head Abdelkarim Harouni, party members said.

The party’s president Rached Ghannouchi, speaker of Tunisia’s suspended parliament, was not in the building at the time, party official Mondher Lounisi said.

Ennahdha, a banned opposition movement under dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, has been the largest force in Tunisia’s parliament since shortly after the country’s 2011 revolution.

It played a central role in national politics until President Kais Saied sacked the government, suspended the assembly and seized a string of powers on July 25.

The blaze came three days after the party warned it was facing an orchestrated "defamation" campaign aimed at shutting it out of national politics.

[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) confirmed, on Friday, that its intelligence led to the killing of 10 of the most prominent leaders of ISIS in 3 provinces during 2021.The front man for the Diyala axis, Sadiq al-Hussaini, said that "the intelligence of the PMF has made qualitative breakthroughs for many of the ISIS networks in Diyala and neighboring provinces through security coordination and information exchange, which led to the killing of 10 of the most prominent leaders of the terrorist organization in the governorates of Diyala, Kirkuk and Salah al-Din."

He pointed out that "the intelligence of the Popular Mobilization is in constant development, and this has contributed to achieving positive results in the past months in terms of tracking down the leaders of the terrorist group."

The aircraft was not shot down and was damaged. The pilot went beyond the front line, most likely, reaching the airfield.

There was no information about its fall in the occupied territory of Yemen.

In general, if he made it to the airfield, then this is a reason for the Houthi comrades to work a little more on the missile warhead, so that next time no one could return to the airfield.

Several people dead in explosion at south Lebanon Palestinian camp
[SHAFAQ] A large explosion rocked a Paleostinian camp in the southern Lebanese port city of Tyre on Friday night causing a number of deaths and injuries, state media reported.A Paleostinian source inside the camp said at least 12 people had been injured and there were an unknown number of fatalities.

The explosion took place at a Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, weapons depot in the Burj al-Shemali camp and a judge had ordered security forces to launch an investigation, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Shehab News Agency, seen as close to Hamas, quoted a Paleostinian source as saying the earth-shattering kaboom was caused by the ignition of oxygen canisters stored for use in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hamas maintains a presence in a number of Paleostinian camps in Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...In 2020 Hezbollah blew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate facility exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that. And it ain't never coming to trial...
The surrounding area had been evacuated and rescue crews had deployed, the Paleostinian source said.

Videos from the scene shared by local media show a number of small bright red flashes above the southern city, followed by a large explosion and the sound of glass breaking.

A number of armed Paleostinian factions, including Hamas and the Fatah Movement, hold effective control over roughly a dozen Paleostinian camps in the country, which Lebanese authorities by custom do not enter.

The state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported an unspecified number of deaths, but local media and civil defense workers on scene said there had been no fatalities. A security source also said fatalities had not been recorded.

The NNA reported that the blast emanated from a Hamas weapons depot in the Burj al-Shemali camp and a judge had ordered security forces to launch an investigation.

The area surrounding the blast had been evacuated and rescue crews had deployed, the Palestinian source said.

Germany promises to take in 25,000 Afghans: EU document
More on this story from yesterday.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Germany has pledged to admit 25,000 Afghans deemed most at risk following the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
takeover in Kabul from about 40,000 such people that European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
states are to accept, according to a letter by a senior EU official.Germany had a record number of almost 900,000 people seeking refuge on its soil in 2015, most of them coming from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.

In a letter dated Dec. 9 and seen by Rooters on Friday, EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson called on member states to make good on all their resettlement promises by the end of 2022.

"Vulnerable people and refugees at risk are awaiting their departure to start a new life in safety and dignity," she said.

As well as the 25,000 refugees that Germany will take in, the Netherlands agreed to admit more than 3,100 Afghans whose life and safety is now seen most at risk. La Belle France and Spain will take in 2,500 people, followed by 2,000 who will head to Sweden, according to the document.

Western countries evacuated more than 120,000 Afghans in a hastily arranged airlift in August as the Taliban took over Kabul, bringing a two-decades long U.S.-led military mission to the country to a chaotic end.

4 Port Blast Detainees File Complaint to U.N. Arbitrary Detention Body
[An Nahar] Beirut port blast detainees Shafik Merhi, Badri Daher, Hassan Koraytem and Hanna Fares on Friday filed a complaint to the U.N. Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. The move coincides with the international Human Rights Day.

The complaint was filed through the lawyer Rachel Lindon, who is a criminal law expert and a member of the Gay Paree, Madrid and ICC bar associations.

It says that the four detainees "are being detained by the Lebanese government in an arbitrary and illegal manner," without being allowed to "defend themselves" nor to "effectively challenge the legality of the measures that have been taken against them."

"This contradicts with the rules of justice," the complaint says.

The four detainees "were first interrogated without the presence of their lawyers and they later appeared before a judge within unjustified timeframes. The detainees have also never been able to reach the file or the documents related to their detention," the complaint explains.

It also criticizes "the interference of the political class with the aim of obstructing any possibility to try them in an independent and impartial manner in this case," noting that the complaint is "not asking the U.N. to determine the responsibilities regarding this massive blast that targeted Beirut," but is rather asking it to "reaffirm that governments cannot mend the wounds of a certain country through unrightfully imprisoning individuals deemed to be guilty only because of their jobs, while the political class is being spared of any responsibility."

At least 216 people died in the earth-shattering kaboom, caused by the detonation of hundreds of tons of ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse for years, apparently with the knowledge of senior politicians and security officials who did nothing about it. The explosion also injured 6,000 people and destroyed parts of the city.

More than a year after the government launched a judicial investigation, nearly everything else remains unknown -- from who ordered the shipment to why officials ignored repeated warnings of the danger.

Masked men steal 34 wigs from Florida boutique in hair-raising robbery
Not your everyday headline, is it?
[NYPOST] This smash-and-grab has Florida locals wigging out.

Three masked men have been caught on camera storming Sassy Sistas Boutique in Altamonte Springs, Florida, taking off with 34 wigs worth a total of $13,000.

The hair-raising robbery occurred just after 3.30 a.m. on Monday, with the bandidos breaking into the boutique before grabbing the expensive wigs, which were placed atop display mannequins’ heads.

Footage shows the men piling the wigs into their arms and running out of the store — only to return for more.

The trio also took off with the Sassy Sistas cash register, which was later discovered abandoned at a nearby apartment complex, according to local station WKMG-TV.

Serbs worry about movements of Kosovar fighters in Mitrovica
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] Three platoons of Albanian militants from the so-called "ROSU" detachment have been on alert since the morning of December 10 at the "Belvedere" base in the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica. This was reported by the Serbian media.

According to available information, there are up to a hundred armed militants at the base. One ROSU platoon in southern Mitrovica arrived from Pristina.

The chief prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor's Office in Pristina, Blerim Isufay, declined to comment on suggestions that ROSU militants are preparing a police action in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, which is predominantly populated by Serbs, RTS TV reported.

Later in the day, representatives of the separatist police in Pristina said that an attack by special forces in the north of Kosovo and Metohija was out of the question.

Let us remind you that before breaking into the north of Kosovo and Metohija in October of this year, the ROSU militants also used the Belvedere base to prepare for their action. During the riots, one Serb was wounded then.

...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
's Bandipora district on Friday, leaving two cops dead.Witnesses told Greater Kashmir that they heard indiscriminate gunfire at Gulshan Chowk Bandipora. Soon after the gunfire, they said, two police personnel fell on the ground with bullet injuries.

They were rushed to the nearby district hospital, however, as per hospital sources, both the police personnel gave up the ghost.
“They’re dead, Jim.”
"They had suffered multiple bullet wounds, and were brought dead to the hospital. The injuries indicate they had went titzup," said the MS district hospital Bandipora, Dr Mushtaq. The multiple bullet injuries were in parts of their abdomen and chest, he added.

A police front man also confirmed the deaths. He identified the slain cops as SgCT Mohd Sultan and Ct Fayaz Ahmad.

"Terrorists fired upon a police party at Gulshan Chowk area of #Bandipora. In this #terror incident, 02 police personnel namely SgCT Mohd Sultan & Ct Fayaz Ahmad got injured & attained #martyrdom. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow," he said on Twitter.

Economy
Foreboding – U.S. Productivity Declined 5.2 Percent in Third Quarter, Largest Quarterly Drop in 61 Years
[The Last Refuge] U.S. nonfarm productivity is a measure of economic activity within the engine of the U.S. economy. The U.S. productivity rate is a measure of how much value is produced by the economy through demand for the products and services, and the labor associated with the creation of those products and services.

Anecdotally, it has looked for quite some time that around May of this year the economy peaked, plateaued for a few weeks, and then began a slow downward progression. Today the Bureau of Labor statistics puts some revised data to that third quarter (July, August and Sept) economic activity {data here}. The quantified results align with what we sensed was taking place.

The value of all products and services generated increased by 1.8 percent. However, the labor cost of generating that small amount of added value increased by 7.4 percent. The difference between those two numbers is a drop in productivity of 5.2% over the entire quarter.

This is the largest quarterly drop in productivity since 1960 !

The Biden administration will blame the drop in productivity on a lack of material to produce the end product (ie. the COVID excuse). Which means employed people were sitting around waiting for goods to arrive and being less productive. There is a small amount of that which might be true. However, it is not the biggest factor, at least not on this scale. Keep in mind we are talking about both goods and services.

The more likely cause of such a massive decline in productivity is a genuine decline in demand. In the aggregate, consumers needed less goods and services. This likelihood aligns with the diminished and softened retail sales figures recently noted. It is a simple cause and effect. When gasoline, energy, and essential products like food cost more, consumers have less money for other stuff. Demand for the non-essential products drop.

Bitar Demands 'Immediate' Arrest of Ali Hassan Khalil
[An Nahar] The Lebanese judge charged with investigating the Beirut port blast, Tarek Bitar, demanded Friday the immediate arrest of a former minister who has refused to appear before court, a judicial source said.

The investigation into the massive explosion at Beirut port on August 4, 2020 resumed Wednesday after a two-month hiatus caused by multiple lawsuits seen as seeking to hamper the work of Bitar.

The judiciary rejected the lawsuits against the judge -- filed primarily by senior political figures who have been targeted in his investigation -- allowing Bitar to resume his work.

His first task was to submit to the top prosecutor an arrest warrant against former finance minister Ali Hassan Khalil, the judicial source said on condition of anonymity.

Bitar demanded the "immediate" arrest of Khalil, who is considered the right hand man of Parliament Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri
...Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians...
who heads the Amal Movement.

The director-general of the Interior Security Forces, Maj. Gen. Imad Othman, had refused an earlier request for the arrest of Khalil, citing an article of the constitution.

"The refusal of a security apparatus to implement an arrest warrant constitutes a dangerous precedent that goes against the decisions of the judicial authority," the source said.

In a country where politicians determine judicial appointments, including in top courts, there is little room for the judiciary to work against Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...The land area formerly occupied by the state of Lebanon, before that Phoenicia...
's ruling elite.

Bitar's determination to question bigwigs over the blast has earned him the respect of the victims' families -- and the enmity of the political elite, particularly the Shiite alliance of Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
and Amal.

Deadly festivities broke out in October after the two Shiite parties called for his removal as head of the probe.

The two parties have since prevented the Lebanese cabinet from meeting in a bid to force Bitar's removal.

The 2020 blast killed 216 people and injured more than 6,500 others, destroying much of the Beirut port and devastating entire neighborhoods of the capital.

The explosion was caused by a huge stockpile of ammonium nitrate that had been improperly stored at the port for years, prompting accusations of gross negligence on the part of the authorities.

was elated by the news Thursday that Attorney General Letitia James had dropped out of the 2022 gubernatorial race — seeing her exit as a chance to jump into a less crowded Democratic primary field with only one other progressive, according to sources."They’re on cloud nine!" said a source close to de Blasio about the lame-duck mayor and his political advisers.

While de Blasio hasn’t made his run for governor official, he created a candidate committee and is expected to make the announcement in January.

"I’m going to be going around the state of New York, starting next month, talking to the people of this state," de Blasio said on MSNBC Thursday when "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd asked if he was going to rethink his gubernatorial race after James bowed out.

"I want to stay in public service. I want to address the issues I’ve been focused on, fighting income equality, getting more kids access to better education. I have a lot of energy to do that and I’ll have a lot more to say in the coming next few weeks," de Blasio said.

Shortly after James broke her unexpected news, de Blasio attended a ribbon-cutting at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Afghanistan
Bus bomb kills two in Afghan capital: Taliban
[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] Two people were killed and four maimed in separate bomb explosions in the west of Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Friday, the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
said."Two civilians have been killed and three others were maimed" when a bomb went kaboom! on a minibus in the Dasht-e-Barchi district of Kabul, the Taliban’s interior ministry front man Sayed Khosti told news hounds.

"In another explosion in the same area, one woman was maimed," he added, specifying that the second blast was also a bomb.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks.

Dasht-e-Barchi is largely populated by the mostly Shiite Hazara
...a grouping of Dari-speaking people of Sino-Tibetan descent inhabiting Afghanistan and Pakistain. They are predominantly Shia Moslems and not particularly warlike, which makes them favored targets...
community, who for years has been the target of violence by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-Khorasan (ISIS-K) group.

In November, a similar kaboom on a minibus in Dasht-e-Barch killed two people and maimed five others. That attack was claimed by ISIS-K.

ISIS-K grabbed credit for an October 15 suicide kaboom on a Shiite mosque in Kandahar that killed at least 60 people and injured scores more.

That attack came a week after another deadly mosque blast claimed by the group in northern Kunduz province killed over 60 people.

#1  It seems not matter who is running things, the other side always wants to kill their own people in protest.

I guess different cultures have different ways of population control.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Man attacked by 20 otters, bitten 26 times: 'I thought I was going to die'
Haven't seen that headline before either.
[NYPOST] A Singapore resident was hospitalized after a bizarre animal attack last month in which he was accosted by a gang of otters, who reportedly bit him 26 times.

"I actually thought I was going to die — they were going to kill me," British native Graham George Spencer told the Straits Times of the otterly frightening encounter, which occurred Nov. 30 while he was strolling to the Singapore Botanic Gardens with a friend.

Spencer, who is in his 60s, was reportedly approaching the visitors center when he spotted around 20 otters crossing a dimly-lit path in front of him. He claimed it was the first time he had seen the mustelids in the area despite taking his morning walks there for five months. The animal encounter went south after a jogger ran through the pack, causing the fish-eaters to go "crazy like dogs" and try to bite the passerby, the shocked senior told Singapore’s Today online newspaper.

Biden's Nord Stream 2 Move Opens The Door To A Russian Invasion Into Ukraine
[Daily Caller]
  • President Joe Biden’s lax policy on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, choosing to remove barriers to its construction, has opened the door to a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

  • "Biden made a preemptive concession at the beginning of his administration without going to the table and talking with Putin," former Under Secretary of Defense Robert Wilkie, a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in August that his government views the project as a "dangerous geopolitical weapon of the Kremlin," AFP reported at the time.

President Joe Biden’s lax policy on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, choosing to remove barriers to its construction, has opened the door to a Russian invasion of Ukraine, an expert told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Opponents of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which was recently completed, argue it would make Russia less reliant on the Ukrainian gas pipeline network, potentially stripping a key deterrent to invasion, according to The Wilson Center. Nord Stream 2 would remove both a key revenue source from Ukraine and a powerful tool the nation has in defending itself against Russian aggression.

In May, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the U.S. would waive sanctions placed on the pipeline by former President Donald Trump. Biden gave a final stamp of approval to the $11 billion project, which is operated by the Russian state-run firm Gazprom, on July 21 after a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

"Biden made a preemptive concession at the beginning of his administration without going to the table and talking with Putin," former Under Secretary of Defense Robert Wilkie, a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Wilkie added that once the natural gas begins to flow from Russia to Europe via Nord Stream, the European nations relying on it for their energy needs will be less inclined to protect Ukraine from potential Russian aggression. "Once the natural gas starts to flow, you have just tethered Western European comfort and prosperity to Moscow," said Wilkie, who also led the Department of Veterans Affairs from July 2018 until January.

"The Ukrainians have figured correctly that the Europeans are going to be neutered, they’re not going to want to turn off that flow for economic reasons," he continued. "And that leaves the United States, and perhaps the Eastern European friends of America, particularly Poland, as their only buttress against Russian adventurism."
