Protection and waning of natural and hybrid COVID-19 immunity
Authors: Yair Goldberg, Micha Mandel, Yinon M. Bar-On, Omri Bodenheimer, Laurence Freedman, Nachman Ash, Sharon Alroy-Preis, Amit Huppert, Ron Milo

Abstract:
[MEDRXIV] BACKGROUND Infection with SARS-CoV-2 provides substantial natural immunity against reinfection. Recent studies have shown strong waning of the immunity provided by the BNT162b2 vaccine. The time course of natural and hybrid immunity is unknown.

METHODS Data on confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infections were extracted from the Israeli Ministry of Health database for the period August to September 2021 regarding all persons previously infected or vaccinated. We compared infection rates as a function of time since the last immunity-conferring event using Poisson regression, adjusting for possible confounding factors.

RESULTS Confirmed infection rates increased according to time elapsed since the last immunity-conferring event in all cohorts. For unvaccinated previously infected individuals they increased from 10.5 per 100,000 risk-days for those previously infected 4-6 months ago to 30.2 for those previously infected over a year ago. For individuals receiving a single dose following prior infection they increased from 3.7 per 100,000 person days among those vaccinated in the past two months to 11.6 for those vaccinated over 6 months ago. For vaccinated previously uninfected individuals the rate per 100,000 person days increased from 21.1 for persons vaccinated within the first two months to 88.9 for those vaccinated more than 6 months ago.

CONCLUSIONS Protection from reinfection decreases with time since previous infection, but is, nevertheless, higher than that conferred by vaccination with two doses at a similar time since the last immunity-conferring event. A single vaccine dose after infection helps to restore protection.

#6  At this point in time, infection is not the important thing, SEVERITY is. Are the natural, acquired, and hybrid immunity groups showing any differential in severity and hospitalization and fatality compared to each other and to the baseline?

If the Omicron variety and the symptoms are no more than a mild cold and resulting in far fewer hospitalizations, as it is so far, then the infection rate does not matter - in fact, you want it higher, to out-compete the more severe version and eradicate it, whilst providing some degree of immunity, and achieving "herd immunity".

Infection rates are a crap statistic when isolated from the full context.

Evolution is Random, But Guaranteed.

Most mutations are dead ends and produce non-viable results. But if it replicates and mutates quickly enough, the random nature means it will eventually hit on a viable mutation.

Viruses are primed to evolve very rapidly. They reproduce rapidly many times in a host, leading quickly to many generations of viruses. In the case of Covid, it is a single strand, so it doesn't have any error checking or correction systems for repairing RNA/DNA damage, so mutations stick around and aren’t corrected.

This is why we need a new flu shot every year, why it’s not worth the effort to create a vaccine for the “common cold” (which could be caused by any one of a number of different strains of virus). And thats why we are seeing many variants of COVID

So now it comes down to 2 factors: transmissibility and virulence.

Increased transmissibility is a favorable mutation, in that it allows the virus to spread to more hosts, and outcompete other variants, and evade any immunity developed to other forms. Higher transmissible viruses will become more common due to "competition of the fittest".

So increased transmissibility is inevitable.

As for virulence? It is rather simple. Killing the host too fast or making them too sick to interact with others may prevent the virus from getting a chance to spread. This is why virulent forms like Ebola tend to "burn themselves out" before they can evolve to a milder form, and use an animal population for their "reservoir".

So virulence is not an advantage when competing with other forms of the virus, especially since the asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic will carry it and not be likely to treat it.

There is evidence that the coronavirus that causes most of the “common cold” today came from a virus called OC43, which might have been responsible for an 1890 pandemic that killed over a million people. That virus grew less virulent over time, becoming little more than a nuisance.

So "waiting it out" can be a valid strategy, although the death and damage while waiting for a less virulent form to dominate mark it as an unsustainable strategy, as well as an inhumane one.

Omicron is a natural development that most viruses tend toward - more contagious but milder symptoms and less virulent. Like the flu and the common cold (also a coronavirus).

This is a mutant that we can take advantage of. The panic over Omicron is not only stupid, but it is also counterproductive if, in fact, Omicron is a very much less virulent form.

All the countries instituting severe measures like extreme lockdowns (Israel, Australia) are doing their populations far more harm than good. The same goes for mandates for the mRNA for children who have a minuscule risk for fatality or hospitalization absent other comorbid factors.

So context - how is this affecting HOSPITALIZATION rates? Infection rates are meaningless without that context. Transmissibility is only half the equation. Whats the virulence?

#7  Hysterical Covidianism is the virulence

#8  Hospitalization rates bottomed out in mid-summer, peaked around Labor Day, and fell non-stop until about Thanksgiving, when they started trending up again.

Today, there are 15,001 "Serious/Critical" per Worldometers, about the same as mid-October.

But we are well into what used to be "The Flu Season", but flu deaths have been practically zero since the end of the flu season (April) 2020. That's twenty months without a flu season.

Draw your own conclusions - those are (some of) the facts!

#10  Key phrase: died WITH, not FROM. Why was the person hospitalized to begin with? What age? What comorbid conditions? What was the proximate cause of death?

Ivermectin prophylaxis used for COVID-19 reduces COVID-19 infection and mortality rates.
Subtitled:
A 220,517-subject, populational-level retrospective citywide.

Abstract:
Background: Ivermectin has demonstrated different mechanisms of actions that could potentially protect from both COVID-19 infection and COVID-19-related comorbidities. Based on the existing literature and safety profile of ivermectin, a citywide program of prophylactic use of ivermectin for COVID-19 was implemented in Itajai, a Southern city in Brazil in the state of Santa Catarina. The objective of this analysis is to evaluate the effects of the use of ivermectin for prevention of COVID-19 infection, risk of dying and mortality, compared to non-users.

Materials and methods: This is a retrospective analysis of registry data from the medical based citywide COVID-19 prevention with ivermectin program, between July 2020 to December of 2020. The whole population of Itajaí was invited for a medical visit to compile demographic and medical parameters. In the absence of contraindications, ivermectin was offered as an optional treatment for 2 days every 15 days at a dose of 0.2mg/kg/day. Patients’ preferences and medical autonomy were preserved. Ivermectin users were compared with the comorbidity-matched population of non-users for COVID-19 by age, sex, COVID-19 infection rate, and COVID-19 mortality rate. Results in terms of mortality were adjusted for all relevant variables and Propensity Score Matching (PSM) was calculated.

Results: A total of 220,517 subjects were included in the analysis; 133,051 (60.3%) ivermectin users and 87,466 (39.7%) non-users. COVID-19 infection occurred in 4,311 (3.2%) treated subjects, and 3,034 (3.5%) non-treated subjects. This evidence showed a 7% reduction in COVID-19 infection rate with use of ivermectin: COVID-19 infection rate ratio (Risk ratio (RR) of 0.93; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.89 — 0.98; p = 0.003). A total of 62 deaths (1.4% mortality rate) occurred among users and 79 deaths (2.6% mortality rate) among non-users, showing a 48% reduction in mortality rate (RR, 0,52; 95%CI, 0.37 — 0.72; p = 0.0001). Risk of dying from COVID-19 among ivermectin users was 45% lower than non-users (RR, 0.55; 95%CI, 0.40 — 0.77; p = 0.0004). Conclusion: Prophylactic use of ivermectin showed significantly reduced COVID-19 infection rate, mortality rate and chance of dying from COVID-19 on a calculated population-level analysis, which controlled for all relevant confounding variables.

Economy
Inflation Will Moderate in 2022. Unexpectedly!
Originally observed in the Dallas Morning News. It's all supply-chain issues and staffing issues. That's all!
[Ay Pee] Inflation is painfully high, but this hopefully is close to as bad as it gets.
I wish I could be 'full of hope'
Consumer prices rose 6.8% for the 12 months ending in November, a 39-year high. Many economists expect inflation to remain near this level a few more months but to then moderate through 2022 for a variety of reasons. And they don't see a repeat of the 1970s or early 1980s, when inflation ran above 10% for frighteningly long stretches.
Plenty of time until a new regime takes over!
Households could even see relief in some areas within weeks. Prices have dropped on global markets for crude oil and natural gas, which is filtering into lower prices at the pump and for home heating. That should keep inflation somewhat in check, even if prices keep rising elsewhere in the economy.

"This is not going to be an easy fix," said Nela Richardson, chief economist at ADP. "Just because inflation will eventually moderate doesn’t mean that prices are going to go down. They’re up. We’re just lowering the rate of change, not the level of prices."

One reason for the moderation, he said, is improving supply chains. They had become ensnarled when the global economy suddenly returned to life following its brief shutdown, and economists hope increasing availability of everything from computer chips to shipping containers will help inflation to ease.
That'll put more stuff on the shelves, not more money in pockets to purchase stuff.
"It’s in no one’s interests to have the supply chain as disruptive as it has been," Price said.

Then there's the Federal Reserve. Wall Street expects the Fed to say this upcoming week that it will accelerate its exit from a monthly bond-buying program meant to support the economy. That would open the door for it to begin raising short-term interest rates.
How long has the Fed been 'supporting the economy", I wonder?
The U.S. government will also potentially offer less aid to households in 2022, whether that's through child tax credit payments or beefed-up unemployment benefits. That could also lead to fewer purchases by Americans, further lessening the pressure on inflation.
Potentially.

#2  economists hope increasing availability of everything from computer chips to shipping containers will help inflation to ease

"Economists hope": This would be comical if these incompetent assholes weren't destroying our country.

Sure, energy prices can temporarily whipsaw based on a meeting in Vienna or a remark by a Gazprom official or a sheik. But there is zero evidence that the supply chain mess is easing. Literally every piece of hard evidence we have -- container ships at sea, scarce inventories, time to market data, depleted store shelves -- everything says the opposite.

#4  I hear that where historically international shipping prices were $500, they now are $20,000. That will certainly encourage creative answers, answers that do not include China, after which supply chain-induced inflation will fall. But government spending-induced inflation is a good deal less tractable.

#5  Not gonna stop until the extra money is siphoned off. The way they did that at the end of the 70s was to jack up interest rates. It hurt, but worked. With everyone so in debt to the hilt, it will hurt even worse this time and might actually collapse everything. But this won't stop until balance is once again restored to the books.

#1  Short of full N-95 and eye protection, and probably gowns (like in the hospital), masking (with cloth or cheap paper masks) DOES NOT WORK against aerosolized viruses. Period. Show the empirical evidence that proves that it does. It does not exist.

Masking is theater unless 100% N-95 disposable (never re-use) masks, and worn correctly (properly fitted, no nose-out nor chin-diaper, thrown away after wearing), and accompanied by behavior changes like not rubbing the eyes, or touching the face, with regular handwashing.

Mask mandates are stupid.

'Biden gave out way too much free money and nobody wants to work anymore': Arkansas iHop posts message blaming the president for the store slashing its opening hours'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Due to the fact that Biden gave out way too much free money and nobody wants to work anymore. We are forced to reduce our hours during this week,' the sign on the iHop in Arkansas read

  • The sign was posted as the Biden administration said employers had added just 210,000 jobs in November which fell short of economists' forecasts

  • The sign garnered mixed reactions, with some applauding iHop management for being blunt and others saying that frustration is misplaced and inappropriate

  • One person tweeted they to support the chain for their honesty: 'Kudos to iHop for being truthful and not freaking woke. Think our family of 6 will stop by.'

-Land of the Free
Left Is Shocked Companies Who Promised to Punish GOP Congresscritters Quietly Did the Opposite
And thank goodness they did. Red State does like to get overexcited, so here are just the key bits:
[RedState] In the aftermath of the "insurrection" of January 6, 2021, American companies governed by woke executives and boards fairly fell over one another to appease the left. In a flurry of virtue signaling rarely seen, company after company declared that they would no longer contribute to the campaign funds of anyone who voted against certifying the 2020 election results.

As the Biden bunch began to demonstrate they were not only corrupt to the core but hopelessly inept in the bargain, some companies started pulling back from the precipice of waging an electoral war against the people who were probably going to run Congress in 2024. The Hill reported the companies that pledged to punish Republicans for acting in accordance with their oath of office have slowly been backing off that promise, either directly or indirectly:

Six months after the Capitol attack, only a small number of powerful corporations have made good on their pledge to suspend PAC donations to the 147 Republican politicians who voted against certifying the 2020 election results.

Among the 10 biggest corporate PAC donors that pledged to pause their contributions to election objectors, Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Verizon have followed through on their promises, according to the most recent Federal Election Commission filings.

Other top PACs that vowed to withhold contributions, such as AT&T, Comcast, General Electric, Home Depot, Pfizer and Walmart, have been bankrolling party committees or leadership PACs that can easily funnel campaign cash to election objectors. Those company PACs have not made direct donations to the politicians’ campaigns.

Now the most significant sign has arrived that the whole benighted effort to blame Republican senators and members of Congress for doing what they are paid to do as well as what they believe is right has come to a screeching halt comes from a whining, mewling article in Rolling Stone titled Big Law Firms Promised to Punish Republicans Who Voted to Overthrow Democracy. Now They’re Donating to Their Campaigns. This is strictly a "reader beware" situation, as Rolling Stone is famous for just making crap up and portraying it as fact;

[Big Law firms] weren’t alone in reacting swiftly to the events of Jan. 6. Major corporations and their lobbying front groups in Washington called the insurrection "appalling," an "assault on our democracy," and "an attack on all those things that people cherish and associate with America." Numerous major corporations from Pfizer to Chevron made pledges to freeze financial contributions to the House and Senate Republicans who had voted against certifying Biden’s election, many of them citing vague or baseless claims of election fraud. But by the fall of this year, those corporations have resumed donations to members of the so-called Sedition Caucus as well as party committees that work to reelect Republican members.

Now, the same pattern is playing out with Big Law.

Why companies are backing away from their intemperate declarations earlier in the year is not a mystery.

Nothing is going Biden’s way.

Like major corporations, Big Law can see what is coming. They can either remain true to their wokeness and find themselves totally shut out when a new Congress takes the reins, or they can quietly renege on their virtue signaling and move on. It is increasingly apparent that sane people don’t consider January 6 an "insurrection," and they don’t care about the silly little "commission" pretending to investigate that event. Voters aren’t going to cast their vote based on a senator or member of Congress having the foresight to try to keep Joey SoftServe out of the White House, and there is no downside to stop play-acting like the Republic was in danger on January 6.

If Russia invades Ukraine...
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
By Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] Oh, these are notable threats. The US threatens that "if Russia invades Ukraine," then the US will organize "financial isolation of Russia" and "will increase the contingent of troops in countries on the border of Russia."

Everything is fine here.

1. Constant reservations "if Russia invades" seem to say that Russia did not invade Ukraine, although Ukrainian propaganda squeals about "repelling Russian aggression."

2. Interestingly, the effectiveness of "financial isolation" of Russia will be as effective as the "diplomatic isolation" promised by Obama? The promised "torn apart" economy also did not come.

3. And the very juice - the United States is threatening Russia that it will send troops not to Ukraine, but to the territory of conditional Poland, the Baltic states, Romania, Bulgaria, etc. That is, if the RF Armed Forces take control of the whole of Ukraine, then the United States threatens that the US and NATO troops near the borders of the Russian Federation will increase. At the same time, the NATO grouping in these countries is growing anyway.

These are very wonderful threats and guarantees, which reflect the attitude of the United States towards Ukraine as an instrument that they want to use profitably for themselves, but do not want to enter a direct war with the Russian Federation for the sake of Ukraine.

Therefore, there is a "barrier."

Therefore, the Biden administration in public statements assures that the United States does not want a direct war with the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

Therefore, the troops are threatening to be deployed outside Ukraine. To prevent the formation of a mechanism for launching a direct war, with obligations undesirable for the United States. Which, of course, does not negate the simple fact that Washington will try to play the Ukrainian card in a way favorable to itself.

#10  As to those who make ridiculous references to 1939: Do you even know who's who in Ukraine today?

So Putin's a bandit - OK, let's look at your beloved Ukrainian shit-government whose criminality and violence are world-class. You raise the specter of Hitler while ignoring that the Ukrainian government is rife with real, unvarnished, genocidal fascists. You do realize, don't you, that the Ukrainian shit-regime that our incompetent State Department and Biden admin officials consider our "ally" includes the exact same type of fascists that your upside-down historical analogy supposes?

Do you know who "Right Sector" are? The "Azov Battalion"?

Did you know that in May 2014 in Odessa these monsters and neo-Nazis burned alive scores of Russian-speaking civilians, taunting them as they burned and hacking off limbs of other civilians who escaped the Trades Union House building which Ukraine's actual fascists torched after civilian protestors fled there while trying to escape marauding hordes?

Whatever your feelings about Putin -- I get it, he's a d*ck and a thief -- this is a nightmare conflict in which "our side" has nothing whatsoever to recommend it.

They're corrupt as sin and thuggish murderers who have done nothing for us but pay off the depraved spawn of our demented puppet-president while forgot-nothing, learned-nothing Cold Warriors re-enact their mindless anti-Russia games.

No better symbol of American decadence and decay in the age of Soetoro and Magoo.

#18  We should try to broker an agreement between Russia and whatever clown is currently holding Ukraine's presidency. If do as Teddy Roosevelt could broker an end to the Tsar's war with Japan in 1906, we can certainly manage to bring an end to this wretched little war.

To create a lasting peace we should propose that the current territory be demilitarized entirely -- no Russian troops, no NATO or US aid -- and partition off the eastern Novorossiisk regions.

We would remove all US advisors and troops from Ukrainian territory, forswear ever bringing Ukraine into NATO and immediately begin talks to bring Russia into the US-India-Japan-Aus. de facto alliance against CHINA.

I remember who really bombed Pearl Harbor, but instead we went off and fought Nazi Germany instead.

You're basically blaming us for the fact that there's been a Chinese/Russian alliance for the past twenty years or so, since long before the Russians invaded Ukraine back in 2014. They cooperated in the takeover of Venezuela in the 2000's, you know, in violation of that Monroe Doctrine you keep thinking's still honored somewhere.

Let me guess, the hundreds of thousands killed there were "pre-revenge" for the NATO entry of Ukraine that still hasn't happened yet?

#21  Oh, here's some more stuff from Cold Warrior Joe Biden:

Biden in 2010 reportedly told a US diplomat 'f--- that' when asked if the US should stay in Afghanistan to prevent a humanitarian crisis

Biden in 2010 reportedly argued the US did not have an obligation to stay in Afghanistan.
"F--- that, we don't have to worry about that. We did it in Vietnam, Nixon and Kissinger got away with it," he reportedly said.
Biden is facing criticism over the US withdrawal from Afghanistan after the Taliban retook the country.

Apparently the Senile fuck doesn't remember that Nixon was more or less removed from office in favor of a placeholder who'd let the Democrats cut all aid to South Vietnam.

If I have my facts right then it all depends upon the US who has no real interest in the area and no interest in defending the super-wealthy and very judgy Europeans any longer.

The only thing that might save Ukraine is if the Biden people believe a war could bring up poll numbers, but at this point the US is tired of wars and I think a war in Ukraine might drive Biden into single digits, especially if the Woke generals screw up something.

It's by a conservative outfit called the Reagan Foundation.

Read this and then ponder whether more "democratic" intervention, in yet another overseas shithole, will turn the trend around:

"For the first time in our survey, a minority of Americans—only 45%—report having a great deal of trust and con dence in the military. Alarmingly, this is down 25 points in the last three years. Increasing numbers of Americans say they have little or not much confidence in the military, which is up 15 points in the last three years.

"Trust and confidence in the military is down across the major demographic subgroups, including age, gender, and party identification. Since 2018, those reporting the highest level of confidence in the military have fallen
- among Republicans by 34 points to 53%,
- Democrats by 17 points to 42%, and
- Independents by 28 points to 38%.

"The highest level of confidence is down 25 points among both men and women. And it is declining among all age groups as well, down 25 points among those over 65, by 26 points among those ages 45- 64, and 28 points among those 30-44...."

Those damn White Europeans ☺ Norse settlers were active in the Eastern Americas as early as 1021AD. 400+ years before those Mediterraneans in 1492.

Biden Methane Tax Will Add 17% to Average Bills & Will "Escalate"
[IndependentSentinel] The House bill is progressive [regressive really] with an "escalating tax on methane emissions by oil and gas producers," according to a new op-ed in the Wall Street Journal. The tax will hit $1,500 per ton by 2025 and the fee is supposed to be a contribution to recent promises made in Glasgow to curb methane emissions.

The cost of the fee will obviously get passed along to the consumer. It will mean even higher energy prices. The Left wants to make fossil fuels so expensive that only the rich can pay for them. About 180 million Americans use natural gas to heat their homes, the report says.

Afghanistan
The Taliban's 100 days of solitude
[NATION.PK] The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
have been in power for almost 100 days; a timeline often used to test the nerve of governance. Since their storming into Kabul on August 15, on the heels of the world superpower’s exit, they have played their cards close to their chest. I’m neither a Taliban supporter nor do I approve of their yesteryear policies, yet I humbly acknowledge that they are a power to be reckoned with, and rightly deserve to be recognised as the de jure ruling entity of Afghanistan.

There are no spins involved. It’s high time the regional states, especially its immediate neighbours, as well as the major powers come forward to engage the political dispensation in Kabul. They have largely shunned militaristic-orientation. Though their foot soldiers carry an assault rifle, and almost all of them wear a beard and turban — and are in no mood to adapt the Westminster dress code, they have come a long way in at least settling down with serenity. They have done away with highhanded tactics against their opponents, especially the minorities and women. This episode of their inauguration stint is in need of being appreciated.

Afghanistan today is in the labyrinth stage. It is evolving to rise as a strong nation-state. Having expelled the foreign forces after a struggle or more than two decades, Afghans have at least cemented their nationalistic credentials. But they vanished. Despite being rich in natural resources, as well as an enterprising and hardworking populace, they are groping in the dark to build their war-devastated country from scratch. This is where the world community should play its role.

It’s time to shun prejudice against the entity in power, and realise the essentiality of dependence in inter-state relations. Failing a nation of 40 million, once again, by abandoning it is no option. While the resilient and war-weary Afghans can take on another episode of jingoism and go on to fight, even among themselves or with some new-found enemy—but this luxury cannot be afforded by any of the near or distant states. Pushing Afghanistan into a new circle of instability and warfare would be catastrophic.

This is where realpolitik comes into play. Pakistain, Iran, China and Central Asian States have a special responsibility to embrace Afghanistan. Russia, India, the Arab world and the United States too cannot keep themselves away. Engaging the landlocked country in conformity with the parameters of state-centrism is a must. For a while, all need to keep away their vested share of power politics—and let a devastated state be rebuilt.

Today it is the Taliban, but tomorrow it could be some other political doctrine at the helm of affairs. Thus the notion to discourage engagement is an anathema of sorts. It hasn’t worked, nor will it. The debate that there should be an inclusive government in Afghanistan is merit-based. But Rome was not built in a day. Nor anyone could have the audacity to dictate a foreign state on what it should or shouldn’t be doing in its political policy prescription.

American women waited for decades to get the right of vote, Commonwealth states still linger for credible democracy, and so do the Afghans to knit themselves in a pluralistic nomenclature. They are slow but certainly on the track. Putting the cart before the horse is no solution. Let the horse pull as much as it can in semblance.

What is needed proactively is recognising the Taliban to kickstart the process of nation-building. It will usher in peace and security in the region. If that is delayed any more, it could galvanise centrifugal forces and lead to cataclysm. The Taliban, anyway, are not going anywhere. They are there to stay as there isn’t any possibility of another Tora Bora bombing. The US stands exhausted and couldn’t risk any capitulation.

This boils down the argument to realism, ie, engage the political-militia and let the dynamics of geo-economics bloom daffodils. Opening up of the southwest Asian state is sine qua non for the success of CPEC and BRI, as well as CASA and TAPI—the multi-billion dollar projects awaiting to see the light of the day. The Taliban hold the key to realise them—and their staying put in Kabul makes them indispensable.

On Saturday afternoon, two people came to rob this showroom for Lamborghinis and Bentleys. One stayed by the door with a gun. The other used a hammer to smash a display case and grabbed a million dollars worth of watches. Ten customers including children were in the showroom at the time.

"He was smart enough not to raise the gun, because my people had guns," said dealership owner Joe Petito. "If he raised that gun, he would have been shot, we’d probably be in court defending ourselves."

This robbery happened on October 11th at a store on Michigan Avenue near Chicago.

In less than 20 seconds, the owner says eight luxury watches are stolen.
$1 million divided by 8 = $125,000 apiece.
Police patrols were already heightened this weekend after teenagers flooded downtown last Saturday. Twenty teens were arrested and a CTA bus driver was attacked.

At least for now, even during working hours, the doors at the dealership will be locked. Service is by appointment only. Police are still working to track down the men responsible.

Hamas in a statement Saturday described the earth-shattering kabooms as an "incident" adding that a fire in the camp caused limited damage.

In a later statement, the group said that one of its members, Hamza Chahine, was killed. It called on its supporters to take part in his funeral on Sunday afternoon at a mosque in the camp.

Hamas said the oxygen bottles and containers of detergents stored at the camp were to be distributed as part of its aid work in the camp.

"Hamas condemns the misleading media campaign and the spread of false news that accompanied the incident," the murderous Moslem group said in its statement. It added that reports about the cause of the blast and the "deaths of dozens" are baseless.

Immediately after the blasts, Lebanese troops deployed around the camp and briefly prevented people from entering or leaving.

NNA said the state prosecutor in southern Lebanon has asked security agencies and arms experts to inspect the Hamas "arms storage" site inside the camp.

The traditional rulers kidnapped by the assailants were identified as Paul Ogbu of Ihitte Ihube and Acho Ndukwe of Amagu Ihube, both from the Okigwe Local Government Area of the state.

SaharaReporters also gathered that among those kidnapped was the youth leader of Umulolo Okigwe. In the Umulolo Okigwe, the button men also attacked the country home of a community leader identified as Fabian Nwosu.

Iran to cut oil output, prioritise defence in 2022-23 budget
[AlAhram] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
plans to cut oil output and prioritise defence spending in its 2022-2023 draft budget because of sanctions and US-Israeli threats linked to its nuclear programme.

Iranian news agencies reported that the draft, presented Sunday, projects GDP growth of eight percent.

President Ebrahim Raisi submitted the draft to parliament for a vote expected by the end of 2021.

In Iran, the New Year starts on March 21.

Iran plans to produce 1.2 million barrels per day at a projected price of $60 a barrel. That is down from 2.3 million bpd at a price of $40 a barrel, leaving revenues of $26.3 billion against $33.5 billion in the last budget.

Industry experts say the estimate is too high, given that Iran currently sells around 600,000 barrels a day.

Oil sales account for a quarter of revenues in the budget, with another 25 percent from a sharp increase in taxes.

The 2022-2023 budget allocates about $5 billion to boost "defence capacities and strategic research", Tasnim news agency said, up from $4 billion the previous year.

Washington, which has imposed stringent sanctions on Tehran, warned in October of "other options" if diplomacy fails on Iran's nuclear programme, while Israel has reserved the right to use force.

A 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers has been disintegrating since then US President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
pulled out three years later.

The accord ensured sanctions relief for Iran in return for tight curbs on its nuclear programme.

Trump also re-introduced sanctions, including on its oil exports, prompting Tehran to start disregarding the deal's limits on its nuclear activities in 2019.

Trump's successor Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S., who gives the term geriatric a bad name. He blames Afghans for losing Afghanistan....
has said he wants the US to return to the agreement, but international negotiations in Vienna on reviving the accord have so far failed to make significant progress.

Changes in Afrin, Syria demographics
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

There is a graphic at the link which shows the data discussed in this article

By Boris Rozin

[ColonelCassad] More than 3 years after the establishment of full Turkish control over Afrin, its demography has changed significantly:

Kurds until 2018 - 90+ percent
Kurds now: 30-35 percent (300,000)

Arabs until 2018 -5 percent
Arabs now - 65+ percent (460,000)

Figures provided by the Afrin Center for Human Rights. Data collected at the end of 2020.

According to Syrian sources, the Kurds were in Afrin as an ethnic minority for the first time since the Crusades.

Excellent work of the YPG, which refused to hand over the region to Assad's control and chose to hand it over to Erdogan.

As a result of the excellent policy in the style of "I will frostbite my ears to harm Assad," they actually organized ethnic cleansing for themselves.

Friend Recep gladly began to squeeze the Kurds out of Athens and replace them with Arabs, which he is diligently doing to this day, since he has more than two million Syrian Arabs living in Turkey, whom he would prefer to push back to Syria, preferably to the territory where they live.

Kurds in order to erode the demographic composition of the population in territories where Kurds are the ethnic majority.

Of course, he will gladly do the same in Rojava, if the opportunity comes along. The leadership of the Syrian Kurds is diligently working hard to ensure that such an opportunity appears for Erdogan.

The Ministry added that an official note verbale of protest was sent to the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in this regard, containing the Kingdom of Bahrain's denunciation of this unfriendly step by the Lebanese side. Somalia: At least six dead in Galmadug conflict
[Garowe] Skirmishes in Galmadug continued for the better part of Friday with at least six people killed, information minister Ahmed Falagle said, noting that the government will address the situation.

Galmadug has been a hot spot of skirmishes in the country, ranging from al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
resurgence, ASWJ militia, and inter-clan fights, which have escalated for the last two years, almost plunging the country into chaos.
Because really, dealing with just one existential problem at a time would be too simple.
"It is unfortunate that there is a resurgence of clan fighting. Six people have been killed and many more injured. Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
has stood firm and will hold the perpetrators accountable," Falagle said.

Fighting broke out between the two sides in Kahandhaale area of the Galgadud region Friday afternoon but the course of the clash was not immediately clear.

According to local sources, ’several’ people were killed and others injured in the fighting that last into Friday afternoon. Tension still remains high amid fears of fresh fighting.

Galmadug, which is in central Somalia, has been a hotspot of chaos and is home to Ahmed Kaliye alias Qoorqoor, a close ally of outgoing President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmaajo, who has been accused of sabotage.

Under Farmaajo's administration, the country has been fairly unstable, and there have been deliberate efforts to kick him out of the government in the ongoing elections in the federal republic of Somalia.

Aude Blasts Those Trying to Protect 'Criminals' in Port Blast Case
[An Nahar] Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Beirut Elias Aude on Sunday slammed the parties who are attempting to "conceal the truth and the criminals" in the Beirut port blast case, at a mass marking the 16th anniversary of the liquidation of Gebran Tueni."It is no longer acceptable for the government to remain paralyzed in its decisions and actions nor to remain subject to a political minority that acts as the ruling majority," Aude quoted Tueni as saying prior to his liquidation.

"As if Gebran was speaking about what’s happening today," he added.

"Tueni said in 2005 that the unveiling of the truth would mean that criminals, whoever they may be and wherever they may be, would no longer enjoy protection, but we were surprised by many crimes, topped by the capital’s explosion, and we were not surprised by the attempt to conceal the truth and the criminals," the Metropolitan went on to say.

Lamenting that "we’ve become used to hearing about such issues because this approach has deepened in Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity™, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade...
," Aude decried that "the absence of holding any culprit accountable has led us to this lawlessness and to insulting the judiciary and judges and evading justice."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Report: Covert US army unit tasked with fighting IS repeatedly killed civilians
[IsraelTimes] Current and former American military and intelligence officials tell The New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

that a covert US army cell operating repeatedly killed civilians as collateral damage in its operations against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
terror group in Syria.
Given how excited the New York Times clearly is, we have to wonder how far from the truth their journalism might be.
The unit called Talon Anvil was active between 2014 and 2019 striking convoys, boom-mobiles, command centers and squads of enemy fighters, NYT says.

But NYT sources says the cell "circumvented rules imposed to protect noncombatants," sometimes killing farmers in the middle of their harvest, children on the street, fleeing families, and villagers sheltering in buildings.
We also must wonder how many of the killed suddenly became civilians when they dropped the weapons in their hands.
"They were ruthlessly efficient and good at their jobs," says one former Air Force intelligence officer who was with the unit from 2016 to 2018. "But they also made a lot of bad strikes."
Update from the Daily Mail with lots of incidents at 9:15 a.m. ET, courtesy of Skidmark. Their bullet points:
  • A small American strike cell alarmed CIA and Airforce officials by killing countless civilians as they launches airstrikes against the Islamic State in Syria

  • Between 2014 and 2017, operation Talon Anvil routinely flouted safeguard procedures, sources told the New York Times, to function at the 'speed of war'

  • In the process, they obscured the number of civilians they killed in their operations, and averted drone cameras at the moment that missiles would hit

  • The cell played an 'outsize' role in the 112,000 bombs and missiles aimed at the Islamic State while the so-called caliphate was in operation

  • Former Department of Defense and Pentagon adviser Larry Lewis said that casualties were ten times higher in Syria than in similar missions in Afghanistan

  • 'It was higher than I would have expected from a U.S. unit,' he said. 'The fact that it increased dramatically and steadily over a period of years shocked me'

  • Overseeing strike after strike, one source said, seemed to 'erode operators' perspective and fray their humanity'
The NYT is also concerned that the operators wore civvies and beards instead appearing neat and trim in their uniforms.

#1

Not to belittle this accident.
But of course accidents happen in war.
But The Talon Anvil operators were focused on a building, and had viable INTEL that it was an enemy training center.

So looking broadly at Talon Anvil operational mission. It acted kinda like a FO for Terrorist strike eliminations.

OPEN QUESTION:
NYT's with its Anti-Military, vilify any success regarding the war on terrorism, and it well known strong Anti-USA mission story agenda. NYT's ...How also about covering their 100's, if not 1000's of successful terrorist eliminations? Which saved 10's of 1000's of lives. Or the lives that it cost Talon Anvil operative team members? Or is the goal to be one sided, discredit our military, and stomp on it as LIBERAL RAG you are now.

#4  Also, it occurs to me that this unit was stood up in 2014, making it a President Obama project and, since he closely managed all WoT killing, one whose actions he would have been aware of — though clearly the article means to tar President Trump and the Army with the accusation of wanton murder.

Me, I look at ISIS and see a society of eager, complicit volunteers and the conquered in their particular Hell. I, too, am reminded of the carpet bombing of WWII.

Chicago to SUE disgraced Jussie Smollett after guilty hate hoax verdict
Uh oh — he’s in trouble now!

Police Department spent investigating Jussie Smollett
...Cable TV actor whose primary talents seemed to be being black and being homosexual. In a bid for national attention, he paid a pair of Nigerian brothers to rough him up a little so he could claim that two large, white, MAGA hat-wearing men had shouted This is MAGA country! while thumping him at 2:30am on a bitter cold night in Chicago and throwing bleach on him, presumably to lighten him up. The story quickly unraveled, and he became a laughingstock and the poster boy for pretend victimization and attention whoredom...
's hate crime hoax, the former Empire star is now being sued over $130,000 for the time spent by the department's officers investigating the incident.

The city will be going forward with a $130,106.15 lawsuit against the star after Smollett was found guilty on five counts of disorderly conduct, according to the Daily Mail.

In a July 2019 legal filing from the department, they stated that more than two dozen cops spent weeks investigating the Smollett's claims, logging 1,836 overtime hours in the process.

"The City filed a civil lawsuit against Jussie Smollett to recover costs incurred by the Chicago Police Department investigating what the City believed to be Smollett's false police reports that he was a victim of a hate crime," a statement from the city said.

"While using a different standard of proof, the jury's finding of guilt convicting Jussie Smollett of criminal charges stemming from the incident confirms that the City was correct in bringing its civil lawsuit," the statement continued.

The reason for that effort was that Cook County DA Kim Fox went all in on solving this horrible but obviously fake hate crime. I rather suspect the cops who took the original complaint would have dropped the whole mess.

Winter Storm Is Set To Dump Eight Feet Of Snow On Northern California And Will Also Bring Rain And Winds To Rest Of Golden State As Forecasters Warn Of Power Cuts
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • A major winter storm will drop up to 8 feet of snow on Northern California's highest peaks and bring rain and winds up to 65 mph to the rest of the state

  • 'This is a pretty widespread event,' said NWS meteorologist Anna Wanless in Sacramento. 'Most of California, if not all, will see some sort of rain and snow'

  • The precipitation will bring at least temporary relief to the broader region that's been gripped by drought for more than 20 years because of climate change

  • Another storm system predicted to hit California midweek could deliver almost continuous snow

NOTE: This is the Northern CAL Cascade Mts.
Yes !!! Pacific stream moisture and the usual "winter" winds cause snow. In 3-4 months it will be followed by the usual Spring thaw, flooding, mud and landslides, summer heat waves, wild fires and arson fires set by environmentalists trying desperately to prove a "Climate" point.

This happens every year, its pretty much a normal, but broad weather cycle.

eg. California has experienced many droughts over the lat 150++ years/ Such as 1841, 1864, 1924, 1928-1935, 1947-1950, 1959-1960, 1976-1977, 1986-1992, 2006-2010, 2011-2017, 2018 and 2020-2021.

BTW: The Donner Summit California same general northern area (1900-2020) usual sees 343" (28ft.) to low 400" (33ft.).

While just 50 miles west Yuba CA. can barely muster 2" of snow.

probably this gives a moisture stream with a return occurrence of 5 to 10 years

US Capitol riot probe gets coup plan presentation from Trump chief of staff – report
[IsraelTimes] PowerPoint handed to US House investigation reportedly suggests several options for then-president to pursue to derail Congress’s January 6 certification of Biden’s election win

#1  Trump was put in to drain the swamp. That includes the whole swamp, Dems and RHINOS. But the swamp had gotten too big because of vast Deep State corruption. Tucker Carlson is going to have several episodes on Senator McConnell's RHINO incompetence. He just had his intro on the subject and it is going be brutal. McConnel failed miserably as a pilitical leader in the aftermath of the massively corrupt 2020 election.

#7  Ah, but it's OK when top Democrats -- including disgraced "elections lawyer" Marc Elias and his fellow Russia Hoaxer John Podesta, along with Donna Brazil's, John Kerry, Al Gore and other Democrat Party leaders -- gather before the election to map out "election scenarios" based on the likelihood of "voter suppression" and involving Democrats imposing martial law.

Because that's "being prepared." Prepared to use voter fraud and determined to rig the election "by any means necessary."

With preposterous lies about totally-fabricated Russkie plots. With suppression of the genuine and vast evidence of the deleaved Biden family's influence-peddling and money-laundering for the Chinese Communist Party's front organization and half a dozen other foreign state bandits.

With software that allows floating-point tallies of votes.

With four partisan Oligarchs spending over $900 million to teach their paid foot soldiers the arts of "vote harvesting" and "curing" invalid ballots.

With midnight suitcases of ballots and mysterious white vans appearing in only the tipping-point states and only the big city precincts where a swing of 40,000 ballots -- all of them conveniently marked for the retard candidate Biden and no down-ballot candidate at all!

Of course: IngSoc must always be prepared to suppress Emmanuel Goldstein. He's devious. A cancer. "Growing and spreading like an evil tumor."

#8  * depraved Biden family's influence-peddling

The suppression of the Biden evidence trove -- far more extensive and more horrifying than anything heard in the Watergate tapes -- suppression by the Democrats' media laptops of this prima facie evidence of Joe Biden's blatant lies about not being involved in his son's selling access to the Vice Presidency is sufficient and necessary evidence that the election was thrown.

19% of Democrats who voted for Biden told pollsters that they would not have voted for the muppet had they simply had normal access to normal news reporting on Hunter's laptop and its trove of evidence of Biden's lies about the family's corruption and depravity. Even if that figure's overstated, a swing of just a couple of percentage points in Phoenix, or Atlanta, or Philadelphia, in those cities alone, would have given Emmanuel Goldstein an easy, incontrovertible victory last November.

This kind of massive news suppression and blatant election-rigging -- at the national level -- has never happened in this country. In shabby banana republics or authoritarian states, or corrupt big-city rotten boroughs in this country (cf Cook County IL in 1960), sure.

But never coordinated across multiple states by a national American political party. Until now.

So of course our shit-smeared Congress-liars try to deflect their own wickedness, lies and cheating onto Emmanuel Goldstein with this ridiculous Star Chamber proceedings.

F--k these liars. Damn them to hell.

Gunmen shoot dead a policeman guarding a polio vaccination team in Pakistan’s northwest

The attack in the province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa came a day after two men with the Pak Taliban

...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set. Currently the disease is only found in Pakistain and Afghanistain...
vaccination team in the Sheikh Uttar area, killing him on the spot," Tank district police chief Sajjad Khan told AFP.

Another local police official, Amanat Ali, confirmed the incident and said the assailants had escaped.

No one has grabbed credit for the killing, but a front man for the Pak Taliban earlier claimed Saturday’s attack.

It comes after the turbans on Friday ended a ceasefire with Pakistain’s government mediated with the help of the Afghan Taliban, accusing authorities of violating the terms of the one-month truce.

No progress had been made in fresh negotiations with Pakistain’s government, according to an audio message released late on Friday by Pak Taliban leader Noor Wali Mehsud.

Prime Minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who isn't your heaviest-duty thinker, maybe not even among the top five...
announced in October that the government was in talks with the group for the first time since 2014, facilitated by the Afghan Taliban, who seized power across the border in August.

The Pak Taliban -- a separate movement from Afghanistan's new leaders but which shares a common history -- plunged Pakistain into a period of horrific violence after forming in 2007.

Police guards protecting vaccination teams in Pakistain have come under attack in the past, mostly from homegrown murderous Moslems.

Pakistain is one of two countries where polio remains endemic but only one case has been reported this year after 84 in 2020, according to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.

Troops shoot and kill Palestinian man during West Bank arrest raid
Could be jihadis of one sort or another. Could also be highly armed Arab gangsters feuding with one another, about which internecine violence the Israeli Arabs demanded Israeli authorities act to reduce. But when the Israelis do, the Arabs attack them for it. Still, there are somewhat fewer weapons in Arab houses than there used to be, so that’s something.
[IsraelTimes] Military says man shot as soldiers came under attack after conducting searches in a home where a gun was found; Paleostinians say he died of his wounds, 2 others injured

Troops conducting an arrest raid in the West Bank city of Nablus opened fire and shot a Paleostinian man who was part of a group throwing bombs at the soldiers, the military said. Paleostinian officials said the man died of his wounds.

According to the army, officers from the Border Police’s undercover unit, accompanied by IDF soldiers, searched a home in the city and arrested a resident after finding a machine gun in his possession.

As the troops left the building they came under attack from a group who threw explosives at them from a close distance, endangering their lives, the army said.

They opened fire, hitting one of the attackers, who was maimed and taken away by Paleostinian medics the army said.

Paleostinian officials said the man, identified as Jamil al-Kayyal, 31, was taken to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds to the head and died of his wounds.

Two other Paleostinians were maimed when hit by an IDF jeep, the officials said.

No casualties were reported among the Israeli soldiers.

Israeli forces routinely carry out raids in the West Bank, often meeting resistance from local Paleostinians.

Iraq
PMF locates five ISIS Madhafas in Hamrin Mountains
[SHAFAQ] al-Hashd al-Shaabi (PMF) announced locating ISIS Madhafas in Hamrin Mountains. The PMF's media department said in a statement that the forces seized five Madhafas that host ISIS turbans in Hamrin Mountains in Diyala.
Madhafa translates literally as "hospitality."
Is that anything like a ribat, a fortified carivanserai where jihadis can rest and refurbish until they’re ready to take up the conquest again?
Madhafas contained logistical equipment used by the organization's elements while roaming the Hamrin Mountains," the statement added.

In the same context, the Security media cell announced in a statement that the army's aircraft destroyed two ISIS hideouts, during a combing campaign in Kirkuk.

Earlier today, a joint force from al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF) Operations Command in Diyala and Diyala's Operations Command of the Iraqi army launched a large-scale military operation to pursue ISIS remnants in the Hemrin mountains area.

The Commander of the PMF Operations in Diyala, Taleb al-Mousawi, said that the operation covers six axes in the territory between Baghdad-Kirkuk and Qara Tappa-Ain Laila roads.

"The PMF was in charge of the first, second, and sixth axes. Diyala's Operations first brigade took over the first axes, the fourth brigade covered the second, and the 23rd brigade, Nidaa Diyala, and the Special Force was in the last axis," he said, "the operation's aerial coverage was provided by the Iraqi army aircraft."

"The operation was launched per intelligence information and long-term surveillance by cameras," the PMF elaborated, "the PMF supporting forces backed the attacking forces as they advance in the axis."

Russian speaking separatists claim Ukrainians planning a false flag attack
[LB] The Lugansk People's Republic Defense Ministry said on Sunday that Ukrainian forces in the area of the Ukrainian 58th Brigade were planning a false flag drone strike, according to Lugansk official news releases.

The provocation, as the spokesman for the Lugansk People's Republic termed it, is planned for the village of Muratovo, which is about two kilometers north of the North Donetsk River. The location is well north of the line of contact.

The plan is to drop explosives in a civilian area, then claim Russian speaking separatists for the attack.

Only two days before, Ukrainian forces west of Donetsk city, in the Donetsk breakaway republic, sent a drone which dropped an explosive device atop a bus stop shelter.

One separatist was killed and another wounded when the device exploded, according to data supplied by the Donetsk People's Republic Ministry of Defense.

In a subsequent report, the Donetsk MoD said that Donetsk electronic and air defense (ELINT) units intercepted another attack drone, the target of which reportedly was a hospital.

That announcement said that the ELINT unit had tapped into the drone's control channel to force it to land.

In a separate report, the Donetsk Ministry of Defense said that Ukrainian forces had not fired any artillery on Sunday.

More on Lugansk
According to a news article which appeared in the online edition of lb.ua, Russian speaking separatists fired on Ukrainian froces in teh area of Popasna and Katerynivka, using automatic grenade launchers and small arms fire.

Reportedly there were no casualties.

Ukrainians said they returned fire, which effectively ended the gunfire exchange.

MSNBC says Biden's low polls are Trump's fault, warns of 'Trump's next coup'
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] "Meet The Press" host Chuck Todd and his Sunday show's guests blamed President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family, the guy who bungled Afghanistan...
's abysmal polling numbers on former President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
and warned the American public of "Trump's next coup."

The segment Sunday began citing The Atlantic's cover story, titled "Trump's Next Coup Has Already Begun," by staff writer Barton Gellman.

"By way of foundation for all the rest, Trump and his party have convinced a dauntingly large number of Americans that the essential workings of democracy are corrupt, that made-up claims of fraud are true, that only cheating can thwart their victory at the polls, that tyranny has usurped their government, and that violence is a legitimate response," Todd quoted, asking "hyperbolic or fact?"

MSNBC analyst John Heilemann responded, "fact." He then supported The Atlantic piece's claims. "This is 30 million people right now who are ready to take up arms," Heilemann stated on-air. "You put that together with what the president, the former president I should say, and his allies are doing in the political realm, state houses, state legislatures, and the party apparatus to be able to engineer a situation where they are in a stronger position to pull off a coup in 2024 than they were in 2020. That's not hyperbolic at all. These are all facts."

We are not interested in flattening the curve, or slowing the spread, or saving Grandma. We do not seek equal opportunity or equality or diversity or inclusion.

We are interested solely in power, pure power.

What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal.

We are not like that. We know that no Governor or Mayor or District Attorney or Cabinet Secretary or Congressional Committe Chairman or Assistant Undersecretary to the Secretary of the Vice-Undersecretary ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it.

There will be no herd immunity. There will be no end to the contagion. There will be no reckoning or restitution or reparations that finally settles the account and closes out the obligation.

Power is here, forever, everywhere, for Power's sake alone.

Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.

Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship.

Iraq
Clashes erupt between the Iraqi army and PKK elements in Sinjar
[SHAFAQ] A security source reported that festivities erupted between the Kurdistan Workers Party and the Iraqi army north of Sinjar district.

The source told Shafaq News Agency that pro-PKK elements demonstrated north of Sinjar today, and burned a vehicle belonging to the Iraqi army.

The source added that an Iraqi army force responded to the demonstrators, before festivities erupted between the army and PKK elements.

On October 9, Baghdad and Erbil reached an agreement to normalize the situation in Sinjar.

ISIS invaded Sinjar district in 2014 and committed a massacre against its residents, before the Peshmerga forces recaptured it the following year.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
the Iraqi army backed by al-Hashd al-Shaabi invaded the Region due to the tension between the Region and the federal government against the backdrop of the independence referendum in 2017.

Moreover, the Iraqi authorities appointed new officials in the district instead of the elected ones who left Duhok when the Iraqi forces advanced.

There are currently two local governments for Sinjar, one of which was appointed by the federal government authorities, while the second represents an elected government, which operates from Duhok governorate.

Additionally, a PKK faction was formed in the governorate, called Sinjar Protection Units, and receives salaries from the Iraqi government as a faction supported by al-Hashd.

Kurdistan workers reject repeated calls from the Region to leave the areas subjected to Ottoman Turkish attacks, which impedes the return of tens of thousands of displaced Yazidis to their homes.

Jizya and de facto acceptance: Americans can transfer $$ to Afghans, UK promises $100 million

US allows money transfer to Afghanistan
[KhaamaPress] US Department of Treasury announced that they have made a regulation based on which people will be allowed to transfer money to Afghanistan. The new regulation was announced on Saturday, December 11 and it will lift sanctions on all those who are involved in the transfer.

The money will reportedly solve the problem to a certain extent but the spokesperson of the department has said that Afghanistan’s ongoing situation is not because of US sanctions on the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
and added that the new regulation will not solve the problem either.

As per the regulations, the money transfer will too be conducted if the process includes the names of members of the Haqqani network
...a branch of the Afghan Taliban, based in Pakistain. The network is a family business founded by the later Jalaluddin Haqqani...
-who are banned- but the purpose of the money should not be traded but rather personal.

MoneyGram and Western Union are the only means of money transfer to Afghanistan that resumed their operations in September.

UK to allocate nearly $100 million in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan
[KhaamaPress] As Afghanistan is still suffering from potentially the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, Unite Kingdom has announced that they will allocate the US $99.5 or 75 million pounds in humanitarian aids to Afghanistan.

The Foreign Ministry of the UK has added that 34 million pounds of 75 million will be given to World Food Program (WFP).

The allocation of money comes hours after foreign ministers of G7 met in Liverpool on Saturday, December 11, and discussed the world’s conflicts including Afghanistan.

The UK has reportedly doubled its humanitarian aids to $380 million for Afghanistan and the region this year.

fighters shot killed a boy who was attending an engagement function in Kabul.

The boy, Faisal (in his 20s) was shot by a Taliban fighter in Police District two of the Afghan capital Kabul.

Eyewitnesses and his uncle of whom the slain Faisal was attending the wedding said, they were directed to stop for check post and they did but were shot at in the next one.

"We were returning from my engagement function and were directed to stop in a check post of the Taliban in Quwa-e-Markaz. We stopped and were searched by the Taliban and then they allowed us to go, when we went there were four other Taliban who started shooting and shot killed Faisal." Said Faisal’s Uncle.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior Affairs Saeed Khostai confirmed the incident and added that two culprits have been arrested and are under investigation.

"The people were asked to stop to a check post and the Mujahideen started shooting at Faisal who was maimed and then succumbed to his wounds in hospital. Two people have been arrested in connection to the incident." Said Khostai.

People have been asking the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to properly train their fighters and give them proper uniforms in order to be recognized and avoid incidents as such in the future.

Militant killed in Awantipora gunfight
[GREATERKASHMIR] A local krazed killer reportedly of the Jaish outfit was killed in a shootout with security forces at Baragam area of Awantipora area in south Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
's Pulwama district on Sunday morning.

"AwantiporaEncounterUpdate: 01 unidentified terrorist killed. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow, " a police front man said.

Quoting a top police officer, news agency GNS reported that the slain JeM krazed killer has been identified as Sameer Ahmad Tantray, a local from Bargam Awantipora.

He had joined JeM outfit on 2nd November of this year and was under C- category, the officer added.

Tit for tat: Car owned by Jewish resident of Sheikh Jarrah firebombed
[IsraelTimes] Incident comes after several vehicles belonging to Paleostinians were vandalized overnight near the flashpoint East Jerusalem neighborhood

A car belonging to a Jewish resident of East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood was torched Sunday night, amid rising tensions in the flashpoint area.

Security camera footage of the incident showed a masked suspect hurling a rock at the car’s back window before another tosses what appears to be a Molotov cocktail into the vehicle. A fire can then be seen in the car as the suspects run away.

According to the Walla news site, the owner has had his car set ablaze seven times since the start of the year.

The news site also reported that Molotov cocktails were thrown Sunday at homes of Jews on the outskirts of Beit Hanina, another Arab neighborhood in East Jerusalem.
“We took these houses away from you Joooos in 1948, the only win of the Five Arab Armies in that war. How dare you think that Israel’s reconquest in 1967 allows you to take back what was yours, or create legal consequences for us refusing to pay the rents laid out in the legal agreements we then signed?”
The incidents came after a group of masked suspects vandalized several cars owned by Paleostinians near Sheikh Jarrah overnight, before fleeing.

Hebrew media reports identified the vandals as Jews.
Who were responding to previous Arab attacks, etc.
There were no reports of injuries in any of the incidents, nor the arrests of any suspects in connection to Sunday’s incidents.

"We will continue to act against violence of any type, rioting or acts of vandalism in the area and in general," police said.

Last week, an Israeli Jew living in Sheikh Jarrah was stabbed as she accompanied her five children to school. Video released by police showed the attacker appeared to be a maiden of tender years.

A 14-year-old Paleostinian girl, apparently a neighbor of the victim, was arrested under suspicion of being the assailant. The teenager denied any connection to the attack, her lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, told The Times of Israel.
Even though there is video of her doing exactly that. No doubt Allah, one of whose names is the Father of Lies, had something to do with it.
Sheikh Jarrah, a neighborhood a 10-minute train ride away from Jerusalem’s city center, has emerged as a symbolic flashpoint in the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict. Over the past few years, a handful of Jewish nationalists have moved into the mostly Paleostinian neighborhood, mostly through complex eviction cases.
There should be some sort of consequence for not paying the agreed-upon rent for half a century...

Iran arrests lesbian for 'supporting homosexuality'
[JPost] Yet the Kalorama Kouple love them some Ayatollahs
The state’s Sharia law system imposes the death penalty on same-sex relations

The 6G Iranian and Lesbian and Transgender Network reported Tuesday on its website that an Iranian lesbian named Sarah was arrested in the province of West Azerbaijan while seeking to cross the border into Turkey.

The Islamic Republic’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) arrested Sarah in November and, according to the pro-Iran Tasnim news agency, individuals were detained on charges of "forming a gang for trafficking girls and supporting homosexuality." The Iranian theocratic state’s Sharia law system imposes the death penalty on same-sex relations.

According to an IRGC statement, one of the charges against the vague "trafficking network" was "communicating and supporting homosexual groups" who "operated under the auspices of the trans-regional intelligence services."

The Islamic Republic’s security forces frequently charge dissidents, protestors against the regime and minorities with nebulous allegations of violating national security.

The Persian word for 6G is Shesh rang and embodies the six colors of the LGBTQ+ flag.

America’s imperial hubris threatens to push Somalia towards a catastrophe
[Garowe] Questions on the credibility and fairness of Somalia’s federal elections continue to fuel uncertainty and fears of violence in the country as political stakeholders remain at loggerheads on the way forward. In Mogadishu, the political opposition has boycotted the elections dismissing the process as a sham.

They are not alone. Civil society and clan elders have also joined a chorus of condemnation of a process now widely seen as rigged. Faced with the prospects of delayed elections or a sham process, the international community has favored a ’quick and dirty’ process regardless of its legitimacy.

Such a shortsighted attitude will neither lead to a credible election nor stability. Instead, it is almost certain to trigger a conflict between Farmaajo and his opposition who blame certain members of the international community for pampering a belligerent and undemocratic leader.

BLM activists demand abolition of Chicago police's 'racist' gang database
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] A reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
-based group called Defund CPD Campaign is advocating for the abolition of the Chicago Police Department's "racist" gang database, stating that a vast majority of individuals listed are Black or "Latinx."

"Another racist surveillance tool used to criminalize is CPD's gang database. Of the 500,000 Gang Arrest Cards recorded, 95% of the individuals designated as gang members were Black and Latinx, with 91.3% of all individuals being male," a Twitter post from the Defund CPD Campaign reads.

The database has been heavily criticized by advocacy groups, with many saying that it targets certain neighborhoods or races.

Following criticism, the city council took steps towards reforming it last month, allowing the Chicago Police Board to hear appeals from those who want their names removed and feel they were wrongfully added, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

"Finally, Chicagoans who have been wrongly included will have the right to have their names deleted and get on with their lives, whether it's getting a job, volunteering at their child's school or being able to rent a place to live," the outlet wrote.

A 2019 audit by now-former Inspector General Joe Ferguson's office concluded that the database was a "deeply flawed collection of gang data, with poor quality controls and inadequate protections for procedural rights."

A draft policy of changes to the database published in November includes in addition to the opportunity for appeal, "also includes a rule mandating gang designations be purged after five years absent new confirmation of active gang involvement, restrictions on sharing the information with outside agencies and stricter criteria and oversight for adding someone to the gang database in the first place," according to WBEZ.

Given statistically Blacks Gangs and Thugs tend to kill other blacks Gangs members and Thugs PLUS Black Community Members. At documented ratios of something like 9 to 1 over Whites and 18+ to 1 over police.

So if the Police were to "eliminate" Black Gangs and Thugs in the Black Community, wouldn't they be saving the Black Community members Lives that actually do Matters?

Russian Winter (Kind of) Zombie Fires
[InterestingEngineering] The coldest place on Earth is burning because of zombie fires.

Oymyakon, Russia, which has the lowest winter temperatures of any city in the world with an average of 58°F below zero (50°C below zero) is generally considered the coldest inhabited area on Earth. Oymyakon’s lowest recorded temperature was a reading of 89.9°F below zero (67.7°C below zero) back in January 1924.

Even though Oymyakon means "unfrozen water" due to the thermal spring located nearby, the area is located in a permafrost zone, which means that the ground temperature is constantly 32°F below zero (0°C) and is permanently covered in snow.

Despite low temperatures, peat fires, also known as "zombie fires," fueled by peat and methane, continue to burn in the area below the ground.

Satellite images, expert suggest Iranian space launch coming
If you know what you’re looking at, dear Reader, the photo at the link will no doubt be interesting.
[IsraelTimes] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
appears to be preparing for a space launch, as negotiations continue in Vienna over its tattered nuclear deal with world powers, according to an expert and satellite images.

The likely blast-off at Iran’s Imam Khomeini Spaceport comes as Iranian state media has offered a list of upcoming planned satellite launches in the works for the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s civilian space program, which has been beset by a series of failed launches. Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard runs its own parallel program that successfully put a satellite into orbit last year.

Conducting a launch amid the Vienna talks fits the hardline posture struck by Tehran’s negotiators, who already described six previous rounds of diplomacy as a "draft," exasperating Western nations. Germany’s new foreign minister has gone as far as to warn that "time is running out for us at this point."

But all this fits into a renewed focus on space by Iran’s hardline President Ebrahim Raisi, said Jeffrey Lewis, an expert at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies who studies Tehran’s program. With Iran’s former president Hassan Rouhani
...Iran's moderate president, which he is, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he's anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man...
, who shepherded the nuclear deal out of office, concerns about alienating the talks with launches that the US asserts aids Tehran’s ballistic missile program likely have faded.

"They’re not walking on eggshells," Lewis said. "I think Raisi’s people have a new balance in mind."

Four dead at funeral of Hamas member killed in Lebanon explosion
[JPost] One of those wounded in the clashes is Zaher Jabarin, a member of Sinn Fein Hamas' "Political" Bureau.

Armed clashes broke out on Sunday between Hamas and Fatah members in the Burj al-Shemali Palestinian refugee camp in Tyre, Lebanon, Lebanese media reported.

Four were killed and at least four others were wounded, some critically, in the clashes.
They were rushed to Hiram, Jabal Amel and the Italian Lebanese hospitals.

One of those wounded in the clashes is Zaher Jabarin, a member of Hamas' Political Bureau, according to Palestinian media.

The violence broke out during the funeral of Hamas member Hamza Ibrahim Shahine, who died in Friday's explosion at the refugee camp, caused by a fire at a Hamas weapons depot.

The state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported an unspecified number of deaths from the explosion, but local media and civil defense workers on scene said there had been no fatalities.
A funeral strongly suggests someone actually was killed by the explosion…
Unknown assailants with machine guns reportedly targeted the large crowd of men and women attending the funeral at the Palestinian camp.
Probably not the dreaded Mossad…
In addition to Hamas and Fatah members, a large Hezbollah delegation also attended the funeral.
A gesture of brotherly solidarity, to be sure.
The delegation included Hassan Izz-Al-Din, who is wanted by the US government for the hijacking of TWA Flight 847 in 1985.

The clashes come as tensions between Hamas and Fatah are rising due to the Palestinian municipal elections taking place in the West Bank.

Despite Hamas' boycott of the elections, Hamas-affiliated candidates contested the elections and won seats in several councils, as some Palestinians described the results as a "major defeat" for Fatah.
Yep.
This is a developing story.

The Times of Israel adds:
It is not clear what instigated the fight, but local reports claim it was between members of the Hamas terror group and the Palestinian Fatah movement.

Hamza Shaheen was killed after an alleged Hamas weapons depot, hidden underneath a mosque in the camp, located near the port city of Tyre, exploded on Friday night.

Turkey gives drones to Somalia as Ankara faces criticism over its military role

The drones had been delivered early this month in the country and would be used by the Somali National Army [SNA] in the fight against al-Shabaab

For the last several years, Turkey has been arming and training Somalia’s army at Camp TurkSom

- its extensive military base and defense university - in recent years, providing G3 assault rifles and armored vehicles.

Turkey trains and equips the elite Gorgor of the SNA and Haramcad coppers in both at a large military base in Mogadishu and its country.

Turkey-trained Somali soldiers have, for years, been fighting against al-Shabaab bully boys. Still, a drawn political crisis in Somalia has raised fears among international partners that the Somali military will be entangled in local conflicts.

Somali opposition accused Turkey of sending arms to Somalia that Farmajo has used to silence press freedom and attack his critics as well as demolish the Federal States.
