HUNDREDS of children were repeatedly raped and sexually abused for decades while in care in Nottinghamshire, a shocking report has shown.
Around 350 people alleged they were abused while in residential or foster care in the county from the 1960s onwards.
The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) said the abuse was "tolerated or overlooked" and the true scale was likely to be higher.
The inquiry heard about the notorious Beechwood Care Home, of which both male and female former residents described being routinely sexually abused by members of staff and being too afraid to report it.
The report said abuse also took place in a number of other children's residential units, including Hazelwood, Skegby Hall, Edwinstowe, Sandown Road, Wollaton House, Hillcrest, Risley Hall, Greencroft, Beckhampton Road, Woodnook, Amberdale and Three Roofs.
'PREDATORY' CARERS
The panel, presenting its report today 15 days of evidence from public hearings in October, said it was the largest number of specific allegations of sexual abuse in a single investigation that the inquiry has considered to date.
Widespread abuse including repeated rapes, sexual assaults and voyeurism took place during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s in many of Nottinghamshire County Council's and Nottingham City Council's homes as well as in foster care, the report concluded.
As well as this, "harmful sexual behaviour" also occurred between children in both settings, it said.
In a damning assessment of the councils' failures, the report said: "For more than five decades, the councils failed in their statutory duty to protect children in their care from sexual abuse.
[NBCNews] U.S. has intel that Osama bin Laden's son and heir, Hamza, is dead, officials say
WASHINGTON ‐ The United States has obtained intelligence that the son and potential successor of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, Hamza bin Laden, is dead, according to three U.S. officials.
The officials would not provide details of where or when Hamza bin Laden died or if the U.S. played a role in his death. It is unclear if the U.S. has confirmed his death.
Hamza bin Laden's last known public statement was released by al Qaeda's media arm in 2018. In that, he threatened Saudi Arabia and called on the people of the Arabian peninsula to revolt.
Hamza bin Laden is believed to have been born around 1989. His father moved to Afghanistan in 1996 and declared war against the U.S. Hamza went with him and appeared in al Qaeda propaganda videos. As leader of al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden oversaw operations against Western targets that culminated in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York's World Trade Center and on the Pentagon.
Navy SEALS killed Osama bin Laden in 2011 during a raid on his Abbottabad, Pakistan, compound. Hamza was not found at the compound. Letters seized from the compound suggested the elder bin Laden wanted his son to join him in Abbottabad and was grooming him as a leader.
In a September 2017 article, counterterror expert and former FBI agent Ali Soufan said, "Hamza is being prepared for a leadership role in the organization his father founded" and is "likely to be perceived favorably by the jihadi rank-and-file. With the Islamic State's caliphate apparently on the verge of collapse, Hamza is now the figure best placed to reunify the global jihadi movement."
The department's Counter-terrorism Rewards Program described the younger bin Laden on Twitter as "an emerging al Qaeda leader" who "has threatened attacks against the United States and allies."
In February, the State Department announced it would pay as much as $1 million for information on Hamza bin Laden's whereabouts. Last believed to be hiding in Afghanistan, he was planning to move east into south central Asia.

Image size fixed. Dron64066, for some reason the overlarge images you’ve been posting come with their own size parameters built in, which override the width and height numbers you’d added. Next time I’ll copy before deleting the key bit, but that’s what’s been going on.
[NYPOST] Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan stood out at Tuesday night’s Democratic presidential debate ‐ for not putting his hand over his heart for the singing of the national anthem.
"Put your hand over your heart for the star spangled banner Tim Ryan!!! #DemocraticDebate," said Meghan McCain, the daughter of late Arizona Sen. John Maverick McCain ... the Senator-for-Life from Arizona, former presidential candidate and even more former foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution. As an ordinary citizen he greased the infamous hookers peeing on the Obamabed in Moscow dossier in an attempt to smear President Trump... , on Twitter.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Ari Fleischer, press secretary for President George W. Bush, likened Ryan’s keeping his hands folded in front of him to former the Socialist paradise of San Francisco ...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964... 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick ...Formerly a petulant quarterback for the San Francisco Giants, now looking for a job. He was willing to stand up for his princles by kneeling during the national anthem, which he had every right to do, but not willing to take the consequences, which he apparently thought shouldn't apply to him... ’s taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem before NFL games.
"Happening now: Will any of the Dems take a knee for the national anthem?" Cruz sounded off on Twitter.
"Rep. Tim Ryan didn’t put his hand over his heart during the national anthem. I guess he’s appealing to the Kaepernick wing of the Democratic Party," Fleischer posted.

Lucky it wasn't a rat bite!
Suddenly, I am having a vision... at the next debate, a merry prankster releases a box of rats on the stage. Hilarity ensues. Extra credit it you paint a little capital 'D' on each rat first.

In unusually frank language, a federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit over hacked documents by the Democratic National Committee against the Trump campaign, saying they "did not participate in any wrongdoing in obtaining the materials in the first place."
The DNC lawsuit was silly. It tried to show that the Trump campaign worked hand in glove with WikiLeaks, the hacking outfit that published the Democrats' documents. In the 81-page opinion, the judge, Clinton appointee John Koeltl, slammed the suit as "entirely divorced" from the facts in the case.
[News.com.au] The White House is monitoring the sudden "congregation" of Chinese forces at the border with Hong Kong, according to reports, following another night of unrest and clashes between protesters and police.
A senior US official who briefed reporters on the condition of anonymity said a number of units had gathered, but it’s unclear if they are security police or part of China’s military, Bloomberg reports.
It comes as Beijing accused the United States of inciting the increasingly unruly protests in Hong Kong, which began two months ago over a proposed extradition bill that could see citizens sent to the mainland.
Since then, demonstrations have evolved into a statement against Beijing’s influence in the operation of the relatively autonomous region.
Bloomberg cites the White House official as saying the US is watching China’s mainland border manoeuvres. Reports of the gathering of forces has sparked panic among Hong Kong locals on social media.

Beijing is caught between a rock and a hard place with Hong Kong. They can't allow a portion of their population the freedom the Hong Kongers have. An iron fist is the only way they keep their multitudes of people in line and a beacon of freedom in their borders can't fly.
However, if they crush Hong Kong the backlash from the west will be huge. The US is already proving that we won't put up with their shit anymore and the trade wars are seriously hurting China. No money equals no bribes to party members and no fancy military to bully neighbors.
I think they will try to walk a middle line, but I don't know if they can corral Hong Kong by just rolling tanks down the street and arresting a few people.
#3
Right. Who gives a fuck about hong kong ? Let China carve it up. There's a thriving trafficking and prostitution industry, perpetrators of which are arrested and tried only at local level by the HKSA. China could stamp it into mush. So let it.

They got away with Tienanmen Square...they probably figure they can do what they need to do in Hong Kong as well. Trump might complain but who else will?

#1 This will not end well.
I agree there are few scenarios w/bad outcomes. I've been here for 2 years now and the last 8 weeks has fundamentally changed this place. I doubt it will ever get back to where it was earlier this year.
I also agree that the PRC will NOT yield 1 inch - especially to the demand that Carrie Lam resign. The PRC cannot show any weakness to either the 1.4 billion ChiComms or the rest of the world.
90-95% of the time these past 8 weeks has been business as usual. The protests, while in different areas, are mostly peaceful. I believe there's a hardcore group of a couple 1,000 that come out after dark to confront the police. The Triad attack at the train station really messed with people's heads. Classic PRC tactic that works up there but backfired big time here.
Not sure how this ends but hoping that the HK people n govt can find a way back from the edge.

Wonder how the NY Stock Market will react when a large grass roots movement to boycott anything marked "Made in China" hits?
[American Thinker] The continued listing to port of Fox News, which rose to prominence precisely because it cut through the politically correct swamp fog that passed as media news just as Donald Trump sliced through the swamp itself on his way to the White House, was on full display on Fox News Sunday when host Chris Wallace joined Democrats whose latest charge of Trump racism occurred when Trump reminded Baltimore Rep. Elijah Cummings that conditions in his rat-infested congressional district were worse than conditions in ICE detention centers on our porous southern border with Mexico.
Chris Wallace took the occasion of his interview with White House Chief of Staff Mitch Mulvaney to attack President Trump and his tweets pointing out the Cummings’ and Democrat double standard, As Red State reported:
For those who are unfamiliar with the story, in a series of predawn tweets, Trump wrote:
Rep. Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous.
His district is considered the Worst in the USA. As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cummings’ District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.
Finally, he wrote: "Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!
This was all Wallace needed to unload on Mulvaney, who was going to have none of this latest recitation by Wallace of Democrat talking points which ignore the bitter truth of what Trump tweeted:

[Aljazeera] The United Kingdom has reported securing record defence orders in 2018, making it the "best year ever" for British arms exports.
The UK's Department for International Trade (DIT), in a report published on Tuesday, said the country won defence orders worth 14 billion pounds in 2018, up from nine billion pounds in 2017 and the highest since 1983.
The report attributed the rise to the sale of Typhoon jets to Qatar and F-35 related components to the US. The deal to sell 24 Typhoons to Qatar, finalised in September, was worth five billion pounds.
The record orders in 2018 made UK the largest arms exporter in the world after the United States.
Arms sales to Saudi Arabia 'unlawful', rules UK's top court
Washington's share of the global defence market was 40 percent, while London's stood at 19.
Russia, the world's third largest arms exporter, has 14 percent market share, while fourth-placed France has 9 percent, the report said.
Countries in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, accounted for nearly 80 percent of British defence exports last year.
[Hot Air] Even the satirists at the Babylon Bee have a limit to jokes ‐ and the attempts by Snopes to "fact check" their humor doesn’t qualify. In a message to subscribers yesterday, the Bee declared that Snopes was attempting to exploit its position as a Facebook partner to "deplatform" the conservative satire site. In response, the Babylon Bee has decided to sic their very real and non-humorous attorneys against the urban-legend site to put an end to their harassment:
As you know, fake news‐which is distinguished from satire by its intent to mislead‐was widely considered a serious issue in the last election cycle. As a result, social media networks like Facebook began partnering with fact-checkers to try and limit the distribution of fake news on their platforms. Snopes was one of them. At one point, a piece of ours was rated "false" by Snopes, prompting Facebook to threaten us with limitations and demonetization. We made a stink about this, and after some media attention shed light on the problem, Facebook apologized for their handling of the matter and admitted that satire is not the same as fake news.
We came out on top last time, but this latest smear from Snopes is both dishonest and disconcerting. We have no choice but to take it very seriously. For better or worse, the media, the public, and social networks all look to Snopes for authoritative answers. By lumping us in with fake news and questioning whether we really qualify as satire, Snopes appears to be actively engaged in an effort to discredit and deplatform us. While we wish it wasn’t necessary, we have retained a law firm to represent us in this matter.
Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon confirmed the accuracy of the statement published yesterday to readers in an e-mail to Hot Air this afternoon, so this is no satirical joke. The move follows a long Twitter thread Friday by founder Adam Ford on Snopes’ most recent "ridiculous article," in which they questioned whether poking fun at Georgia state representative Erica Thomas could be considered "satire." What follows on Ford’s tweetstorm is what we’d have called an old-fashioned Fisking in the blogosphere a few years back:

Snopes has always been little more than a propaganda machine. The fact that Facebook is using them to prop up each other's propaganda is proof enough.
#9
Snopes is fine for real urban legends like whether or not pirate-hunting cruises are being organized off the coast of Somalia, or most of the silly things your Aunt Suzy used to send in mass emails and now sends in mass private Facebook messages. It’s just that, like Wikipedia, on political questions they’ve allowed themselves to become politicized.
Here’s hoping the Babylon Bee’s lawsuit is effective.

TW, Snopes reported falsely on the taharrush mass molestation incident in Cologne, and related attacks on girls, organized by muslim youth via internet on new year's eve some years back. Their original post was scornful and made fun of the report.
Snopes said then that it was a hoax and someone had linked a few unrelated incidents to present 'refugees in a bad light'. There was an uproar on social media and news agencies too got on the case, Snopes had to change it to more ambiguous wording, but they still claim there was no such action.
#11
Snopes has declared war on the Babylon Bee. They have chosen poorly. The Babylon Bee is not only fighting Snopes in court, their satire is absolutely skewering Snopes.
Two websites enter. Only one will leave. This should be fun.

Snopes reported falsely on the taharrush mass molestation incident in Cologne,
Dron64066, I don’t check Snopes for such things — I was involved in real time in collecting the articles on the subject now in Rantburg’s archive. But they rely on news reports for contemporaneous things; at the time the German press, police, and politicians loudly pooh-poohed the reports until the flood of witnesses became overwhelming, at which point they backtracked as slowly and minimally as they thought they could get away with, until finally they confessed most of it. So I don’t blame the Snopes team for getting that really wrong.
[Washington Examiner] Pete Buttigieg said during the Democratic presidential debate Tuesday night that Obamacare saved his mother in law's life.
He said his healthcare plan was "the right answer for people like my mother-in-law whose life was saved by [Obamacare], but who is still far too vulnerable by the fact that the insurance industry does not care about her," he said, referring to the mother of his husband, Chasten Buttigieg.
Pete Buttigieg supports a healthcare system that allows people the option to buy into a government plan, which he has dubbed "Medicare for all who want it."
His mother-in-law, Sherri Glezman, has undergone treatment for skin cancer, including through surgery and several rounds of chemotherapy.
"Today was rough, after a 3-hour surgery and over 100 stitches we continue to battle the beast," Glezman wrote on Facebook May 29.
Glezman and her husband, Rhyan, live in Traverse City, Michigan, and were in the audience during the debate in Detroit. The couple owns a small business called Outdoor Dynamics Landscaping, which also sells decorations during Christmastime, according to Buttigieg's memoir Shortest Way Home.
Buttigieg didn't expand on which coverage his mother-in-law had received or what difficulties she had faced dealing with private insurers.
But Obamacare was intended to help families such as the Glezmans, who owned their own business and therefore don't receive coverage through a large company or a government program and are left to buy coverage on their own. Before Obamacare passed, health insurance companies were allowed to turn away people with preexisting conditions, such as cancer, or charge them more in premiums.
In March, Glezman spoke to UpNorthLive about her diagnosis, warning others not to use tanning beds as she did because it can cause skin cancer. She told the publication that she still gets spots surgically removed, and that during the last decade she has seen multiple doctors and used multiple treatments.
"The longer I struggle with the skin cancer, the more I want to get the word out there," she said. She encouraged others to use sunscreen and supported a bill in the Michigan legislature that would prohibit minors from using tanning salons.
#2
If you're dumb enough to spend your money on a tanning bed then you can spend your own money on skin cancer treatment as well.
Oh, wait! I know where this is leading. They want us to pay for the tanning bed too.

[Breitbart] The U.S. has requested naval cooperation from Germany in the Strait of Hormuz as tensions with Iran escalate, but the political leaders of the European nation have refused to assist their NATO allies.
The German Federal Foreign Office said that Washington has approached them to contribute to a new surveillance mission in the Persian Gulf but had rejected the appeal saying there was no prospect of a contribution, German tabloid Bild reports.
Germany’s allies, including the U.S. and the UK, have been attacked in the Persian Gulf by Iran in recent months. and under the doctrine of collective defence guaranteed by the NATO alliance, Germany is duty-bound to come to the aid of its allies if asked. Yet senior members of Angela Merkel’s left-centrist coalition government have made clear working with the U.S. is out of the question.

This is wrong. It only applies if one of us is attacked, and only then in Europe or the North Atlantic. You think the organization drew its name from a hat?
NATO Article 5:
"The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area."

[IsraelTimes] Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... says it is suspending funding to the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees after an ethics report revealed alleged mismanagement and abuse of authority at the agency’s highest levels.
The internal report by UNRWA’s own ethics department, a copy of which has been seen by AFP, includes allegations of sexual misconduct, nepotism and discrimination.
The Swiss foreign ministry tells AFP in an email that it had already made its annual contribution of 22.3 million Swiss francs ($22.5 million, 20.2 million euros) to the United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
Switzerland "attaches particular importance to good governance of international organizations," the foreign ministry says, describing UNRWA as "an important multilateral partner for Switzerland."
But Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis in May called UNRWA "part of the problem" in the Middle East, as it fueled "unrealistic" hope among Paleostinians of return after 70 years of exile.

[DAWN] Indian troops resorted to what officials described as "carpet bombing" of several civilian populated areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmire (AJK) from across the restive Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday, killing two civilians and leaving at least 19 others maimed, including six women and a police constable.
Akhtar Ayub, a disaster management officer based in district headquarters Athmuqam, said that Nauman, 25, son of Matiullah and Bisma Bibi, 17, daughter of Ghulam Murtaza, were killed in Sharda and Katha Chogalli villages, in the upper and lower belts of Neelum valley, respectively.
The shelling first began in Leepa valley, located some 100 kilometres southeast of in Jhelum valley district, at about 12 noon, with Indian troops targeting Batlian and Bijildhaar villages.
Later they expanded the range to the entire valley, targeting the civilian population with mortar guns and rocket launchers, said Waleed Anwar, assistant commissioner of the area.
"In fact it was carpet bombing of the civilian populated areas, he said, adding, Pak troops had responded "befittingly."
Earlier in the day, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that a man was killed and nine others, including women and kiddies, were maimed due to "unprovoked firing of mortars and artillery guns" by Indian forces along the Line of Control.

[NYPOST] Police have nabbed the woman who peed in a bin of potatoes in a western Pennsylvania Walmart last Wednesday. A store employee spotted the tot mama in the act and immediately notified law enforcement.
The curly-haired brunette was captured on surveillance video entering the store — and the West Mifflin Borough Police Department posted screen grabs to its Twitter and website.
“Identification assistance — Walmart Incident,” cops captioned the images in a call for the community to help expose public enemy No. 1.
The shamed spud soaker, a k a Grace Brown, 20, turned herself in Tuesday.
“She was identified,” West Mifflin Police Chief Anthony Topolnak tells The Post, saying the woman came to the police station with her attorney and “admitted that was her in the video.”
The Allegheny County District Attorney’s office was contacted and recommends Brown be charged with “criminal mischief, open lewdness, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness,” Topolnak says.
“This type of obscene conduct is outrageous and we immediately disposed of the affected products and sanitized the area to ensure its cleanliness and safety for our customers,” Walmart said a statement.
The distasteful story comes weeks after a woman was filmed licking and returning ice cream to a Texas Walmart’s shelves was ID’d, and just days after Indiana teens were spotted spitting into soda bottles and putting them back in a convenience store fridge.

[TOWNHALL] Yesterday the Department of Justice announced the indictment of two Somalian refugees after they attempted to join ISIS in the Sinai Peninsula.
According to the indictment the two men, Ahmed Mahad Mohammed and Abdi Yemani Hussein, started hitting the gym in order to get stronger so they could easily perform beheadings.
"On or about June 26, 2019, MOHAMED told the UC (undercover FBI agent) that he and 'abu' jihad started going to the gym so they could get stronger and 'behad those kuffar,'" the indictment states. "MOHAMED indicated that he wanted to make hijrah and asked for help from the UC. MOHAMED state that he was 'a lion bu killing the kuffar and behading.' In addition, MOHAMED told the UC, 'if I go to Syria I want to be the behading person wallahi this kuffar I want to kill them so many I am thirsty their blood.' MOHAMED indicated he wanted to travel to Syria, Egypt and/or Iraq."
Kuffar is another word for infidel or non-Moslem. Hijrah is defined here as Islamic immigration or movement.
"According to information provided by the Department of Homeland Security, MOHAMED is a 21-year-old lawful permanent resident of the United States who currently resides in Tucson, Arizona, and originally entered the United States as a refugee from Somalia. HUSSEIN is a 20-year-old refugee from Somali who also currently resides in Tucson, Arizona," the indictment continues. "Over the past several months, MOHAMED and HUSSEIN have repeatedly demonstrated their allegiance to and support for ISIS, and have discussed their desire and plans for joining ISIS overseas, in the course of various electronic and audio recorded conversations with an undercover FBI Agent."
The two men purchased flight tickets scheduled to leave the United States with a destination for Cairo, Egypt on July 26, 2019. They were arrested after going through airport security.

Why are these characters always caught within territory ? Why not let them go to Cairo and declare them terrorists, have interpol issue red-corner notices whatever, later ? Ban their re-entry.
Somalis are the most despicable race I've come across. They're easily recognizable though, resembling walking penises, with their frizzy hair and reptile eyes. If Indian police, or even the general public comes across one, they say "Oho ! A pirate !"
There are roughly 800 somalis in India, protected by the AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) in the leftist bastion of Hyderabad. They are concentrated there, in the homes and infrastructure provided them by their islamist benefactors, knowing if they venture out they're as good as deported or dead. There has been miscegenation in the past, resulting in passable stock that that tried it's luck in entering local politics and infiltrating law enforcement, but they were 'shut down' by local interests.
We have even had to 'actively supplement' indigenous organized crime sometimes, in driving out African elements, turf wars where foreigners were found on train tracks repeatedly until someone began to wonder why negroids like to walk into oncoming trains... in twos and threes.
The day we let these things into our mainstream, let alone decision-making roles in our society, that day we might as well do our citizens a favor and nuke ourselves.
Many Indian agencies dread the day this globalist nonsense in the west with their 'hug-an-african-or-you're-a-beast' madness ends; we are in for a deluge of these things because they'll flock to the second and third best alternatives. And when the UN 'implores' us to accept them, maybe dangling a UNSC seat before our stupid leaders, we'll be seriously fucked.

------------------- I hate Somalians and here's why
(Rant)
I hate Somalians. I know it's racist. I know it's stereotyping a group of people but living in Toronto for nine years and in Melbourne for eight I believe it's justified.I have never met a good Somalian. The whole group of people should be banned from any civilized country. I understand that Hindus can be untrustworthy, Pakistanis and Bengalis hotheaded and corrupt respectively and I understand that Afghanis are very tribal-minded. But each group of people has had at least one exception that I've met to make me give them the benefit of doubt until further notice.

Even the Jeddah authorities policing the fucking Hajj hate them. They have to be doubly alert because of the pickpockets and organized con gangs that take the hajj repeatedly to target rich donors. Usually from Somalia and nigeria, they roam around looking for marks braving lashes, beheading, jail.
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] The View co-host Joy Behar argued that racism in the United States would not come to an end until systems of oppression were broken down and black people run everything in the country. Good idea. Let the least successful 12.5 percent of the population run everything.
"When I talk about racism, I talk about a system of racism in this country that affects housing, that affects politics, that affects education. It’s a system of racism," the 76-year-old host said Tuesday. "And if you are a minority in this country, you are more a victim of racism, so it’s hard to be a racist when you are a victim of racism."
"They don’t understand the difference between racism and bigotry. Black people can be bigoted like anybody else, but when you’re talking about racism in this country, until black people are running everything," she said before Whoopi Goldberg cut her off to joke, "We came close!"
Behar added that the systems of racism needed to be destroyed and that the systems were "the concept" of racism.
Behar's comments were a clarification of a statement she made Monday, saying, "It's outrageous and stupid to call a black person a racist."

[The Hill] The FBI is going to court to fight the public release of a small number of documents the State Department sent to agents from Christopher Steele, the British intelligence operative and Hillary Clinton-paid political muckraker, during the 2016 election.
Normally, such Freedom of Information Act cases don’t merit public attention. This one does.
To hear the FBI tell it, the release of former Deputy Assistant Secretary Kathleen Kavalec’s documents is tantamount to giving up the keys to President Trump’s nuclear briefcase, aiding the enemy or assisting terrorists.
“We know that terrorist organizations and other hostile or foreign intelligence groups have the capacity and ability to gather information from myriad sources, analyze it and deduce means and methods from disparate details to defeat the U.S. government’s collection efforts,” an FBI assistant section chief swore in an affidavit supporting the request to keep the documents secret.

Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. The unidentified projectiles launched by North Korea early on Wednesday were ballistic missiles that flew about 250 km (155 miles), South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said.
The projectiles appeared to be a different type to previous launches, minister Jeong Kyeong-doo said, according to South Korean news agency Yonhap.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Sudan’s feared spy agency, the National Intelligence and Security Service, which was a key tool of ousted President Omar al-Bashir Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it. to repress dissent, has been renamed by the head of the country’s military council, the agency’s chief said Monday.
The agency, widely known as NISS, launched a sweeping crackdown on street protests, which erupted in December against now ousted leader Omar al-Bashir.
NISS will now be called General Intelligence Service (GIS), its chief Lieutenant General Abu Baker Mustafa said in a statement.
He said the name change follows a decree issued by the head of the country’s ruling military council General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
The council took over after the military ousted Bashir in April and is now working with an alliance of protest and opposition groups on a power-sharing deal.
"The change in the name comes at a time when the security apparatus is being restructured to keep pace with the political changes in the country," Mustafa said.
"The name change also reflects increased professionalism in the agency to help protect the country and national security."
During the ironfisted rule of Bashir, NISS oversaw repeated crackdowns on government opponents and the media.
Its agents frequently confiscated the entire print-runs of newspapers that criticized government policy or reported on anti-government protests.
When agents of NISS targeted anti-Bashir protesters, the crackdown left dozens dead, hundreds maimed and thousands arrested in the months-long protest campaign before the army ousted Bashir on April 11.
The crackdown was overseen by the former head of the agency, Salah Ghosh, who resigned from his post soon after Bashir’s ouster. He was replaced by Mustafa.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Around $10 million in aid for the displaced in northern Iraq’s Nineveh province, where ISIS was based, has been embezzled by its runaway ex-governor, the country’s anti-corruption commission said on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the Integrity Commission told AFP that its Sherlocks had uncovered "invoices from developers in Iraqi Kurdistan."
But, he added, "no receipt was found" for these debited sums, which were meant for the rehabilitation of two hospitals in the northern metropolis of djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , capital of Nineveh.
Many of the province’s inhabitants are still displaced as public services have not been fully reestablished.
Currently, 1.6 million Iraqis are still crowded into camps for the displaced, of which 40 percent are originally from Nineveh, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
A total of 11.3 billion Iraqi dinars ($9.4 million) had been allocated to the Provincial Council by the Ministry of Migration and Displaced, according to the commission.
"It has been debited and doesn’t appear in any provincial authorities’ bank accounts or in the Provincial Council funds," he said.
"It was transferred to Kurdistan," an autonomous region where the sacked governor of Nineveh, Nawfel Akoub, is thought to be in hiding, along with several other officials wanted by Baghdad.
He has been on the run since a ferry sank in Mosul on Mother’s Day in March, killing 150 people.
In April, the commission said that more than $60 million of public funds were diverted by officials close to Akoub from Nineveh’s budget of $800 million.
Graft is endemic across Iraq, which ranks among the world’s worst offenders in Transparency International’s annual Corruption Perceptions Index.
Since 2004, a year after the US-led invasion that ousted Saddam Hussein, almost $250 billion of public funds has vanished into the pockets of shady politicians and businessmen, according to parliament.

Williamson is a 67-year-old “thought leader” who has been a spiritual adviser to Cher, an officiant at one of Elizabeth Taylor’s weddings, and a confidant of Oprah Winfrey. She has also written four New York Times best-selling books, including A Return to Love and Illuminata. And, though she dislikes being described as a spiritual “guru,” she decidedly is.
As evidenced by her decades-long career, Williamson probably wouldn’t describe herself as a politician. However, this isn’t the first time Williamson has run for office. In 2014, she launched an unsuccessful bid for then-soon-to-retire Representative Henry Waxman’s seat in Southern California — a campaign that garnered the support of Kim Kardashian West, Eva Longoria, and Nicole Richie, among many other celebs. Hell, Alannis Morissette wrote and recorded a song for Williamson’s campaign, titled, “Today.”
What is her platform?
Williamson certainly has some slightly unusual proposals addressing some of the biggest issues plaguing America — the climate crisis, mass incarceration, our broken health-care system — but she has thrown her support behind most of the big progressive issues. Were she to become president, she vows to protect reproductive rights and LGBTQ rights. She wants universal basic income. She thinks college should be free, and that student debt should be forgiven. She supports reparations, and understands our criminal-justice system is, in actuality, “terribly unjust.” Also, Medicare-for-all: She wants that, too. (During the 2016 presidential election, she wrote an open letter to Hillary Clinton, urging her to stop “cozying up” to “the plutocracy now ruining this country”; Williamson endorsed Bernie Sanders.)

"The right to buy insulting advertising is the right to be free"
-- Ad Agencies of Isher
[AlAhram] Egyptian Moslem Brüderbund journalist Omar Hassan has posted on Facebook an audio recording of a meeting of group leaders in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor... where a leading member is accusing other high level members of financial corruption.
In the recording, a leading member believed to be Amir Bassam, accuses the current MB secretary-general Mahmoud Hussein, the MB representative in Africa Mahmoud El-Beheiry, and the MB spokesperson Ibrahim Mounir of being corrupt.
"How can anyone imagine that Mahmoud Hussein cruises around in a BMW worth 100,000 euros when the students here [in Turkey] struggle to get 200 Ottoman Turkish Lira a month?" Amir can be heard saying on the tape.
Amir also said on the tape that Hussein and other leaders have admitted in their meetings to owning buildings and cars in their names.
Apart from the companies around the globe owned by Brotherhood members, the MB has been depending on donations from its wealthy members as a major source of financing after the confiscation of its members’ companies and assets in Egypt, which has designated the group a terrorist organization.
It is not clear who Amir is speaking to in the tape.
Amir has not confirmed or denied the authenticity of the recording. He said on Tuesday that he expresses his opinions on his personal Facebook account and that he is open to discussing his views.
While insisting that the Moslem Brüderbund was "pure," he did say on his Facebook account, however, that there have been mistakes committed by Brotherhood leaders and members.
On the other hand, Hassan, who released the recording, said that he did not care if the "pro-regime" media in Egypt use the audio leak against the group, "but the current leadership of the Brotherhood has left us no choice."
In another post, he said that if the leaders of the group do not step down from their posts for the sake of the "youth starving in Turkey," he would release another audio recording of an advisor to Egypt's late president Mohammed Morsi speaking about the "mercenaries and corrupt" individuals leading things in the Moslem Brüderbund.

[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish warplanes repeatedly bombed a village in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region near Amedi on Tuesday, causing fires as they targeted suspected Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) positions.
Nine Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s fell on Pirozana, a village in the Amedi district of the Duhok Province, starting at 10:30 a.m., according to mukhtar Isaa Hussein.
"We are urging The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... to stop its airstrikes. We are farmers and poor people who only want to live our lives," Hussein told Rudaw, adding that the PKK should likewise "avoid our region."
The airstrikes did not cause any casualties, but did result in material damage, according to Hussein: "Orchards and groves of our villagers caught fire."
The mayor of Amedi Ismael Mustafa told Rudaw that firefighters had not been able to put out the fires because of ongoing strikes as of mid-afternoon.
However, ars longa, vita brevis... a resident who wanted to remain anonymous for his safety said the Ottoman Turkish airstrike targeted a PKK vehicle 200 meters from the village, killing two people. Rudaw could not independently confirm his claim. Mukhtar Hussein called on both Turkey and the PKK to take their fight else
Pirozana is just two kilometers south of Amedi. The area is close to the Iraq-Turkey border.
Turkey has repeatedly conducted airstrikes against alleged PKK targets near Amedi as part of its Operation Claw targeting the group, which began in May. The second phase of the operation intensified this month.
Amedi authorities told Rudaw earlier this month that six civilians have been killed and 11 injured in 2019 by Ottoman Turkish airstrikes.
Around 360 villages ‐ mostly around Amedi ‐ have been evacuated because of the fighting, according to Mayor Mustafa.
Ottoman Turkish fighter jets neutralized three Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) faceless myrmidons during a counter-terrorism operation in northern Iraq, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey’s National Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
The Arclight airstrikes were carried out in the Avasin region in coordination with Turkey’s ongoing military offensive Operation Claw, Ottoman Turkish daily Yeni Safak quoted the ministry as saying on Twitter.
The airstrikes also destroyed weapon emplacements and shelters used by PKK terrorists, the ministry added.

[IsraelTimes] Tarek Barghout convicted of carrying out several attacks against Israelis in West Bank alongside Paleostinian former terror leader Zakaria Zubeidi.
The Ofer Military Court on Tuesday sentenced an East Jerusalem lawyer to 13.5 years in jail over four shooting attacks against Israelis in the West Bank, Hebrew-language media reported.
Tarek Barghout, who has an Israeli ID card and belongs to Israel’s Bar Association but lives in Ramallah, committed some of the attacks together with Paleostinian former terrorist leader Zakaria Zubeidi,
..for many years he was head of the Al Aqsa Martyr Brigades in Jenin, though in recent years the PA exiled him to Ramallah. The Martyr Brigades are the military wing of Fatah. It was claimed the Brigades were dismantled in 2007, but evidence militates against that, given that many members work for PA security forces during the day...
who is being charged with carrying out attacks against Israelis dating back over a decade.
Both Zubeidi and Barghout worked for the PA’s Prisoner Affairs Ministry.
All the terror attacks committed by Barghout ended without casualties or with Israelis suffering minor wounds from glass shards, the reports said.
Barghout signed a plea deal with prosecutors, which in a rare occurrence was reached during the initial stages of the investigation.
He began cooperating with his interrogators only after the deal’s principles were laid out. During his questioning, Barghout incriminated Zubeidi.
Both have been in jug since their arrest in late February in Ramallah. Both men were charged in the Samaria Military Court in May.
The Shin Bet security service has said Barghout and Zubeidi shot up an Israeli bus traveling outside the Psagot settlement last December, but failed to hit their target due to inclement weather.
According to the agency, the two had been planning to carry out another shooting attack on the night they were arrested. An M-16 assault rifle and magazines that the security service said were used in the attacks were found in their possession at the time of the arrest raid.
Up until his arrest, Barghout worked on behalf of the Paleostinian Authority representing terror suspects in both civilian courts in Israel and military courts in the West Bank.
Since Zubeidi is accused of many more attacks, including some that had previously been excused under an amnesty deal, the case against him was still ongoing. In May, the Samaria Military Court ordered that he be held behind bars until the legal proceeding against him were completed.
Zubeidi, a 43-year-old former commander for Fatah’s military wing, has been indicted on 24 counts for his role in a number of shooting and bombing attacks starting in 2003.
During the Second Intifada, which broke out in 2000, Zubeidi served as the commander in the Jenin region of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades. He was also suspected of being one of the chief architects of several terror attacks during that time period.
Tareq Barghout, a Ramallah-based lawyer who represented Paleostinians accused by Israel of security-related offenses, was himself arrested in February, along with Paleostinian Authority official Zakaria Zubeidi.
"Barghout fired at Israeli buses and at security forces on a number of occasions," the army said.
Zubeidi, a former head of a bad boy group who later became an official of the PA commission for Paleostinians in Israeli jails, is still awaiting trial.
Both men were charged in May with carrying out shooting attacks in the Ramallah area between November 2016 and January 2019, in which three Israelis were slightly injured.
According to Israel’s Shin Bet domestic security agency the pair used Zubeidi’s official PA vehicle for transport.
Israeli lawyer Leah Tsemel, representing Barghout, said that he alone fired the shots.
"He said in his statement that he opened fire after feeling that Paleostinians were being treated very unjustly by Israeli courts," she told AFP.
She said that he was also distressed by having to accompany bereaved Paleostinians to receive from Israeli authorities the bodies of loved ones killed in conflict with Israeli forces.
"Once, Barghout fired from a distance at a settlers’ bus to make them understand that they can never feel secure in the occupied territories," Tsemel said.

[AnNahar] An Afghan soldier was responsible for the killing of two American troops a day earlier, an official told AFP Tuesday, in what appears to be the latest example of an insider attack.
The US military on Monday said two of its troops had been killed in action in Afghanistan, but did not provide any additional details, pending notification of next of kin.
Mohammad Qasam, a deputy police chief in Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan, said the attack took place at an Afghan army base during a visit by US forces.
"Initial information was two US forces have been killed and one more maimed," Qasam said.
US Forces-Afghanistan declined to comment.
In a statement to AFP, Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... front man Zabihullah Mujahid said an Afghan soldier, not an infiltrator, had killed the two.
"A patriotic Afghan soldier opened fire on them and killed them" in the attack in Kandahar, Mujahid said.
Bahir Ahmadi, the Kandahar governor's front man, also said the incident occurred at an Afghan army base.
On July 17, an Afghan army soldier shot and killed an influential Afghan army colonel while he was conducting a security assessment in Ghazni province.
The Taliban grabbed credit for that killing.
Insider attacks, sometimes referred to as "green on green," are a constant threat in Afghanistan for international and Afghan forces alike.
Diyala (IraqiNews.com) ‐ Two Iraqi civilians were maimed Monday in a bomb explosion in the eastern province of Diyala, a security source was quoted as saying.
"A roadside kaboom targeted a private vehicle on a road between Abu Sayda and al-Abbara districts in Baqubah, some 50 km northeast of Baghdad, leaving two civilians maimed," the source told the Arabic-language Alghad Press website.
"The maimed civilians were moved to a nearby hospital for treatment," the source said, adding that security forces launched a probe into the kaboom.
[IsraelTimes] Around 1,200 people enter the shrine near Nablus in West Bank under heavy military security, as protesters pelt soldiers with rocks.
If only the Palestinians didn’t feel an overwhelming need to be stupidly vicious to the Juices, they could be making pots of money off them selling cream teas and tourist gewgaws like Bethlehem does. But they simply can’t resist, and so the stupidity continues.
Twelve Paleostinians were reported injured Monday night during festivities with Israeli security forces, as around 1,200 Jewish worshipers entered the religious site of Joseph’s Tomb, outside the West Bank city of Nablus.
Joseph’s Tomb is located inside Area A of the West Bank, which is officially under complete Paleostinian Authority control, though the Israeli military conducts activities there. The IDF bars Israeli citizens from entering Area A without prior authorization.
The site is venerated by Jews, Christians and Moslems, and has often been a flashpoint for sectarian violence. Jewish pilgrims are usually only allowed to visit the tomb once a month under heavy armed guard. During these visits, Paleostinians routinely throw rocks at the troops, and sometimes attack them with Molotov cocktails and gunfire.
The military said as preparations were being made for worshipers’ arrival, troops found a pipe bomb in the tomb compound, and detonated it in a controlled manner.
It also said that as worshipers visited rioters burned tires and hurled rocks at the soldiers, who responded with non-lethal means to break up the protests.
Also in the West Bank Monday night, IDF troops arrested 15 Paleostinians wanted for suspected involvement in rioting and terror activities, and took them in for questioning.

A historical study of tyrannical regimes might not shed a very positive light on intelligence agencies or the men who run them.

Intelligence agencies are like immune systems. You can't live without them, you absolutely need them, and people die from leukemia every single day all year long.
[SacBee] California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom approved a bill on Tuesday to force President Donald Trump to release his tax returns in order to get on the state's 2020 primary ballot.
While other states have pursued Trump's taxes, California is the first one in the country to make the disclosure of tax returns a requirement for a ballot spot.
Senate Bill 27, dubbed the "Presidential Tax Transparency and Accountability Act," took effect immediately after Newsom's signed it.
The proposal from Sen. Mike McGuire, D-Healdsburg, requires all candidates president and governor to submit the last five years of their tax returns to the Secretary of State. The information will then be published online for the public to see, with contact information, Social Security numbers and medical information redacted.
Iblis also submitted an article on this subject, commenting:
The Democrats' strategy is starting to come into focus. If they don't allow his name to appear on the ballot in multiple states then the popular vote will skew toward the Democrat, who is then guaranteed a minimum percentage of the electoral college based on states that have adopted a popular vote rule. It probably won't ever change the outcome of an election, but it will prevent a landslide victory and provide evergreen 'stolen election' talking points.

Actually an interesting legal question; since the Constitution has set a number of requirements for President, does that preempt the field or can individual States add other requirements? If they can there could be some serious regional disconnects:
Texas - must be able to eat 5-alarm chili
Minnesota - must be able to shovel 16 tons of snow while speaking Norwegian in a Somali accent
Hawai'i - whatevuh, cuz

The electoral college results can only be based on the votes garnered within that particular state. Other states results are invalid for that state, therefore other states votes doesn't count.
Also, the presidential election is a federal thing, a state cannot except or make appearing on the ballot for a federal office conditional.

It strips the citizens of that state of their meaningful vote and thus their 'equal protection' before the law.
It's also a clear attempt to establish a single party system. They've worked it in CA. Now they're trying to put it to the rest of the country by 'any means necessary'.
#12
We need a friendly judge to place an injunction on California! Better yet, declare CA to be in a state of insurrection and return them to territory status, install a military governor and clean house.
#14
I doubt that Newsom could really do this. Most likely illegal. It will result in a huge lawsuit that would be fast-tracked to the Supremes. Whew, talk about an issue of voter suppression and election rigging.

(puts on contrarian hat) - Frankly, I'd support full financial disclosure including tax returns BUT only if it applied to ALL elected AND appointed positions at ALL levels of government.

As I understand it, this only applies to the primary election. Even if it applied to the general election, Trump will never carry California - the Democrats will see to that by registering every citizen of Mexico and Central America if necessary.

If Trump releases all his tax returns the Dems will find he made some money and he lost some money and nobody but MSNBC cares. It's a nothing burger a red cape before the bull.
Also, the presidential election is a federal thing, a state cannot except or make appearing on the ballot for a federal office conditional.
States already impose state-specific requirements (signature minimums, filing deadlines, etc.) on federal candidates. I doubt they can force disclosure of federal tax returns but it's not as simple a question as the quote above implies.
The electoral college results can only be based on the votes garnered within that particular state. Other states results are invalid for that state, therefore other states votes doesn't count.
I tend to agree with the later comment asserting that it may be an equal protection violation but that too is not completely clear. But it's easy to imagine well-argued cases creating a split in the circuits.
The fun question is: If states that are part of the national popular vote compact award their electors to the party losing in their state but winning the national popular vote does the 14th Amendment then require those state Congressional delegations to be reduced in proportion to the ratio of votes ignored? (E.g., If Trump were to in CO 55/45 but lose the national popular vote and CO to award their electors to his opponent, would the 14th Amendment then require CO's Congressional delegation to be reduced by 55%? Or 100%?) Hint: yes.

[COMMDIGINEWS] Political correctness is a lot like the menacing O’Brien. Rather than physical torture, it enforces its power by use of feigned outrage and equally feigned moral superiority. That contrived moral preeminence comes with a license to condemn those who describe reality for what it is as heinous reprobates. And the worst of these ne’er-do-wells are branded racists.
This grants Elijah Cummings ...Representative-for-life from Maryland, representing half of Baltimore City, which makes his district ultra-safe, and most of Howard County, which is out-populated by the city. His shiny pate is the reason we pronounce the city name Baldymore. Cummings' politix are so liberal they're tedious, nor is he any more honest than the next seedy professional pol... a license of sorts. He isn’t required to explain why the people of his district live in what pest control company Orkin describes as one of Americas "rattiest cities." Nor is he required to explain why crippling poverty grips the people of his district where progressive Democrats have been in control of Baltimore for decades.
Meanwhile, ...back at the game, the Babe was wondering why the baseball kept getting bigger and bigger. Finally it hit him... those in the media who condemn President Trump for his accurate description of Baltimore talk out of both sides of their duplicitous mouths.
The Baltimore Sun, for instance, ran a scathing editorial critical of Trump’s critique of Cummings’ sham virtue:
"The White House has far more power to effect change in this city, for good or ill, than any single member of Congress including Mr. Cummings. If there are problems here, rodents included, they are as much his responsibility as anyone’s, perhaps more because he holds the most powerful office in the land."
The Sun forgets that Trump is not Big Brother. The good citizens of Baltimore, not Trump, govern themselves. They just aren’t very good at it. The fact that Elijah Cummings is currently serving his 13th term in the US House of Representatives is all the proof you need.
Ironically, the dire reality of Democrat misrule was the very subject of a previous Baltimore Sun editorial.
"In short, the Democratic Party, at every level ‐ local, state and federal ‐ remains completely ineffectual and continues to fail the people of Baltimore at every turn. This is no new development. The fact is that the Democratic Party has failed Baltimore and every other major American city for the last 50 years. What were once the shining examples of American progress have become abandoned shells inhabited primarily by those who do not have the means to move elsewhere."
Does this mean we should now construe the word "ineffectual" as a dog whistle designed to stir the sleeping mongrel of racism? Perhaps one of CNN’s on-screen personalities will work up some tears while pondering that very question.
You see, Trump is not hated by the left’s PC guardians in corporate media because he is "conservative." He is hated for so easily trouncing the tyranny of political correctness with a tweet and a smile.
And polls show the American people are as disdainful of political correctness as is their president.

Early in my marketing career I worked for one of America's huge corporations. At one of the first meetings I attended we were instructed to target and appeal to diversity minorities as a priority. I was young and just didn't understand why skin color made someone a better potential customer than, say, anyone else who was more predisposed to buy what we were selling. Therein began my education in political correctness and the need to sing the diversity song in corporate America.

The financial grant is part of a package with the United Arab Emirates worth $500 million announced in April. Both countries pledged an overall $3 billion in aid, with the rest going towards fuel, wheat and medicine.

[IsraelTimes] IAF F-35 jets said to be behind 2 strikes on Iran-linked targets near Baghdad in 10 days; no comment from IDF.
Israel has expanded its operations against Iranian targets to Iraq, where Air Force jets have struck twice in ten days, a report said Tuesday morning.
Israel commonly conducts strikes in Syrian territory, targeting Iranian missile shipments meant for Lebanese terror group Hezbollah to use against the Jewish state, but strikes in Iraq by Israel have not been reported since the 1981 bombing of a nuclear reactor.
Asharq al-Awsat, an Arabic-language newspaper published in London, cited Western diplomatic sources as saying an Israeli F-35 plane was behind a July 19 strike on a rocket depot in a Shiite militia base north of Baghdad.
The IDF has not commented on the report.
The Saudi-based al-Arabiya network reported at the time that members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps and Hezbollah had been killed in the strike. It said the base had shortly before the strike received Iranian ballistic missiles, which had been hidden inside trucks.
Iraq’s military said at the time that one fighter was killed and two Iranians maimed, saying the strike was carried out by an unmanned drone. The United States denied involvement.
Asharq al-Awsat also said that Israel was behind another strike in Iraq carried out Sunday at Camp Ashraf, the former headquarters of the exiled People’s Mujahedin of Iran, located 40 kilometers northeast of Baghdad and 80 kilometers from the Iranian border.
That strike targeted Iranian advisers and a ballistic missile shipment, the report cited sources as saying.
The report also mentioned a strike in Syria last week blamed on Israel, in which nine were killed including six Iranians fighting for the Syrian regime, claiming it was meant to prevent Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. Israeli missiles targeted "military positions and intelligence facilities belonging to Iran and [pro-Iranian] militias" in the southern provinces of Daraa and Quneitra early on Wednesday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at the time.
The other three killed in the strike were pro-regime Syrian fighters, it added.
[DAWN] Fresh protests erupted in India on Tuesday amid growing public fury over a car crash that critically injured a teenager who accused a politician from the ruling party of rape and harassment.
Two of the 19-year-old's aunts were killed and her lawyer was badly injured when a truck collided with their car in northern Uttar Pradesh state Sunday, raising suspicions of foul play.
The incident will be probed by federal Sherlocks amid speculation that local police could favour her alleged rapist, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
Sengar, a four-term politician, has been in jail since last year but reports say he still enjoys considerable clout. The young woman and the lawyer were battling for their lives in hospital in the state capital Lucknow on Tuesday.
The teenager had accused Sengar of raping her at his home in Unnao district in 2017 but police in the notoriously lawless state initially refused to take action.
Her father was detained by police and severely beaten in jug ‐ allegedly by Sengar's brother ‐ and later died from his injuries.
The woman also tried to set herself on fire outside the home of state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a hardline BJP stalwart.
On Tuesday, members of opposition parties rolled their eyes, jumped up and down, and hollered poorly rhymed slogans real loud as they protested outside the national parliament.
"The BJP government should answer how a politician who is in jail is able to plan a murderous attack like this?" said Mahua Moitra, a member of the opposition Trinamool Congress.
The teen's family members also staged a protest outside the Lucknow hospital, accusing Sengar of ordering the highway crash.
The demonstrations followed a rally late Monday, with supporters holding up banners with the words "you are not alone" in Hindi. More protests were planned in New Delhi and Lucknow later Tuesday.
"We demand justice for the survivor and her family which has been put through unspeakable horrors," activist Shehla Rashid said on Twitter.
The protests were reminiscent of those that followed the fatal gang rape of a Delhi student on a bus in 2012 that made headlines around the world.
That case unleashed public anger over rampant sexual violence against women in India, and the introduction of tough new laws to punish rapists.

And as far as the why...well, I'll bet you dollars to donuts that he has a severe case of the Grievances against something/someone, and this was his way of Striking A Blow For Freedom, Tolerance, Anti-Orange Fella, or any number of reasons.

All she needs to do is cry about saving money for 'the procedure' and a Seattle jury will do the rest.

People that live in mud houses shouldn't throw showers.
[DAWN] The Sindh home ministry on Monday issued a code of conduct for collection of sacrificial hides on Eidul Azha according to which parties and organizations that collect the hides should get permit from the commissioner or deputy commissioner concerned.
Officials said the home ministry had stated that on Eidul Azha various political, religious and social welfare organizations or parties collect the hides of sacrificial animals.
"It becomes a matter of competition among the organizations and parties which creates law and order problems for the provincial government," said a notification of the home ministry.
"Keeping in view this situation the government has decided that for collection of hides, approval from the concerned commissioner or deputy commissioner is required."

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Tens of thousands of water bottles destined for desperate Puerto Ricans after devastating back-to-back hurricanes slammed into the US island territory remain unopened on farmland almost two years later, emergency aid officials confirmed Monday.
Aerial images captured by AFP show a sea of water bottles, packaged into massive bundles, heaped on what appears to be a private estate in the Higuillar neighborhood in Dorado, 40 kilometers west of San Juan.
In some pictures, the ground isn’t visible through the piles. In others, broken pallets can be seen among the stacks.
A front man for the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) confirmed it had provided the water bottles as part of relief efforts for Hurricane Maria, which occurred in September 2017.
The water had expired, and the bottles were assumed to be in the process of disposal and recycling.
The front man declined to give further details on how many bottles of water there were, how long they had been on the farm, and why the water had been allowed to expire.
He added that all the issues were "under review by the legal department."
Large sections of Puerto Rico spent months without electricity or water after consecutive hurricanes -- Irma and Maria -- battered the American territory in September 2017, leaving nearly 3,000 dead.
The Puerto Rican government has come under fire for its hurricane recovery efforts, which have largely been viewed as slow and sloppy.
In early July, prosecutors charged six former government officials with embezzling $15 million in hurricane reconstruction money.

...it doesn't. The expiration label is for the bottle, not its contents. File - its a feature not at bug (when environmental weenies get involved).
