[American Thinker] Coincidences are interesting things. They’re considered remarkable because their combined occurrence seems improbable. But sometimes, improbable occurrences really happen. Lightning really has struck the same location twice -- on rare occasions.
But when coincidences start to stack up, their probability of jointly occurring becomes exceedingly low. One begins to wonder if they are not coincidences at all. Could they really be linked outcomes from the same underlying root cause?
In the past year and a half, we have witnessed a remarkable string of apparent coincidences.
Dr. Fauci sponsored "gain of function" research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Put simply, this work increases a virus’s ability to cause disease. It makes a virus more dangerous. Coincidentally, we’re now learning that COVID-19 originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
The COVID-19 virus spread throughout the world in the early months of 2020. Coincidentally, this was at the same time that Donald Trump was ratcheting up sanctions against China and rallying worldwide support.
The pandemic resulting from COVID-19 was used as the rationale for fundamental changes to our election processes. These changes facilitated the most questionable election outcome in U.S. history. 51% of the population now believes that fraud affected the election outcome — and that number is growing. Coincidentally, the election of 2020 neutralized China’s biggest threat — President Donald J. Trump.
The beneficiary of the compromised election of 2020 is Joe Biden. Coincidentally, old Joe has deep and troubling financial connections to China. His son Hunter accompanied him to China when Joe was the vice president and subsequently made millions of dollars from Chinese-sponsored business ventures. Emails from Hunter’s abandoned laptop indicate that Joe was the recipient of a sizable portion of those proceeds.
In the past week, we learned that the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has a high-level defector from China -- whom they’re not sharing with the FBI or CIA. This defector is providing evidence that COVID-19 was not only created in the Wuhan lab but may have been deliberately leaked by the Chinese. This revelation coincidentally came at the same time the FBI was working to discredit scientists claiming the virus was created in a lab.
Representative Matt Gaetz aggressively questioned FBI Director Christopher Wray about the FBI’s behavior relative to COVID-19 scientific whistleblowers. Shortly after this questioning, the press began a series of stories insinuating that Gaetz had inappropriate relationships with underage girls -- though no evidence has been presented yet. But I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

Most modern people really don't understand what hubris is. Even people like Fauxi who were introduced to the idea in school think it's an "old dead white guy" thing that does not apply to them. VDH will write a 12,000 word essay about hubris that nobody will read, but some over-rated blogger will drool while pointing to. Leftist screed merchants will tell us Trump invented hubris exactly to give us COVID and Russians.
The world will move on.

If you admit the possibility that the virus was created in a lab you must then admit the possibility that it was deliberately released.

[JustTheNews] Newly unearthed emails show they hosted 2015 fundraiser for Vanessa Kerry's charity, then sought her help in shining up reputation of Ukrainian energy firm shadowed by corruption allegations.
In the summer of 2015, Hunter Biden and his longtime business partner, the now-convicted felon Devon Archer, already had an ace connection to then-Secretary of State John Kerry: a third partner in many of their Rosemont Seneca ventures was Christopher Heinz, the secretary's stepson.
But when Archer and Hunter Biden jumped into business with a Ukrainian energy company called Burisma Holdings in 2014, Heinz wanted no part because of the firm's reputation for corruption.
So Archer, the younger Biden and their Burisma cohorts targeted another family member, Secretary Kerry's daughter Vanessa, as they tried to improve Burisma's reputation amidst corruption investigations in Ukraine that were being cheered on by the Obama-Biden administration's diplomats in Ukraine.
Emails turned over to the FBI on an abandoned Hunter Biden laptop detail an effort to court Dr. Vanessa Kerry by raising money for her global health charity and then asking the same group to provide help to the Ukrainian people through a partnership with Burisma that would almost certainly burnish the gas firm's reputation.
On July 22, 2015, Archer sent a fundraiser invitation to his wife and Hunter Biden, among other contacts. "I am writing to invite you to our upcoming event in the Hamptons for Seed Global Health, the organization founded by Vanessa Kerry," Archer wrote. "We are hosting a small cocktail party on Sunday, August 16th, at the Quogue Club at Hallock House to raise funds and awareness from my friends there," the email invite beckoned.
Invitation Seed Global Health Cocktail Party August 16th 2015.pdf
Archer's private fundraiser endeavored to raise $100,000 for Seed Global Health and offered three tiers for prospective donors: $10,000 for a "Chair" of the fundraiser, $5,000 to be a fundraiser "Host," and each "Guest" of the fundraiser would have to pony up $1,000.
Burisma had been currying favor with individuals who had access to the highest levels of the Obama-Biden administration for more than a year. Shortly after President Obama named Vice President Joe Biden his point man on the crisis in Ukraine in May 2014, Burisma placed Hunter Biden and Archer on its board and paid them a monthly fee of $83,333 each.
The company also hired John Kerry's former chief of staff, David Leiter, to lobby Congress and the Kerry State Department, according to lobbying records.
While on Burisma's payroll, Biden and Archer met with Kerry's deputy at the State Department, Tony Blinken.
On July 22, 2015 — the same day Archer sent the fundraiser invitation — Hunter Biden was actually at the State Department meeting directly with Blinken, according to government documents obtained by Just the News under the Freedom of Information Act. Blinken testified he and Hunter Biden only talked about personal issues relating to the death of Hunter's brother Beau Biden.
At the time of the Burisma board appointments, Archer's longtime friend (and college roommate) Heinz immediately informed his stepfather's chief of staff and another State Department aide that he had no interest in the Burisma deal.
Through a spokesman, Heinz has maintained that he "strongly warned Mr. Archer that working with Burisma was unacceptable" and "the lack of judgment in this matter was a major catalyst for Mr. Heinz ending his business relationships with Mr. Archer and Mr. Biden."
Heinz's stepsister, Vanessa Kerry, apparently did not see the same red flags, and felt comfortable considering an appeal from the Burisma team to help, according to the emails provided to the FBI.
After the fundraiser hosted by Archer, Vanessa Kerry sent an email to Archer and Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi confirming her interest in partnering with Burisma.
[USA Today] In 2019 alone, there were more than 2.5 million cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis reported, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This marks the sixth consecutive year of record-breaking cases of sexually transmitted diseases in the U.S.
The CDC's data looked at states with the highest cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and congenital syphilis. The following numbers were collected from cases in 2019, the most recent data on file, and show a large increase from the reported 1.4 million cases in 2014.
USA TODAY has gathered a list of the top states with the highest reported STD cases below.
#2
STD rates were 1-2 times higher for Hispanic and Latino populations than non-Hispanic white people. Rates for American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander populations were 3-5 times higher than their white counterparts.
Data also showed STD rates were 5-8 times higher among Black populations.

The Ex-Ft. Gordon NSA worker caught leaking classified documents in 2017.
Well She is getting out prison today.
An she only served 4 yrs of her 5 yr federal prison sentence that she received in August 2018 for violation of the US Espionage Act.
She illegally released TS-SCIF NOFORN materials about possible Russian interference in the 2016 elections to a news outlet.
She leaked a classified report on Russian hacking, so this really should be Page 3: Non-War on Terror.
A news group, which ☺ bungled ☺ it like the Keystone Cops, in its handling and even helped in exposing her. Documents, which were later used in part during the Russia/Trump Coup attempt to help lay Adam Sh*ts false narrative.
But read deep into the NYT article.
It accidentally provides a hidden gem of double speak. In going after Trump/Russia in 2016-2018, it pretty much stated National Elections could have been or was compromised by Foreign Governments (Russia/China).
Something the NYT, now that Biden is in, strongly denies could have ever happen in 2020.
BTW: Remember how Trump compared her 5 year sentence to Hillary's slap on the wrist by the Jeff Session run DOJ? When Hillary was caught "inadvertently" releasing similar data?

[American Greatness] Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) accepted an award last week from a group tied to both the Bush family and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the Washington Free Beacon reports.
With little fanfare, the award was given out by the George H.W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations, declaring that Feinstein represented their shared goals of "a robust and mutually beneficial U.S.-China relationship." One of the major donors to the Bush Foundation is the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), a think tank based in Hong Kong that works closely with the CCP to produce propaganda. In 2019, the CUSEF gave a $5 million grant to the Bush Foundation.
Even members of the Biden Administration have been critical of the CUSEF, with CIA Director William Burns admitting in his confirmation hearing that he, as president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, had severed all ties between the Carnegie Endowment and CUSEF due to the latter’s CCP ties. One of the senators present at that confirmation hearing was Feinstein.
Feinstein had previously faced scrutiny for the fact that her Senate office employed a suspected Chinese spy, who worked as her driver and served other various roles for over 20 years before his recent retirement. Despite this and other controversies related to China, Feinstein remains a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Just a personal observation. I call myself a gleaner. I have for many years collected bits and pieces of information. I had a cup or two of coffee every day and had a heal ache so thinking I was getting two much uric acid I stopped my coffee routine. In a day or two my memory was less responsive to recollection. My heal no longer hurt. So I reintroduced a cup of coffee and almost instantly my memory returned quite remarkably. This is an odd habit I have. I like to test things out.No cream or sugar. Great anti inflammatory as well- eyes, ears, nose and throat. Well, the warmth alone helps also.

I have had kidney stone attacks off & on for many years. I had been camping in NH and was driving back to OH when I had another attack. I was in the middle of nowhere. I had noticed super strong brews of coffee tended to relieve body aches, so I pulled off the road and brewed a super strong pot of coffee, downed it quick and somehow was able to keep driving. I found a Kmart about 30 miles down the road, bought some Aleve and Tylenol, took regular doses of both. Within about 30 more minutes, my kidney pain was substantially (but not totally) relieved. I was comfortable enough to continue to drive home. 12 hours later I was pain free, so the stone had probably passed by then. During the worst attack of my life, 15 years earlier, I received IV morphine with very little pain relief.

In perfect reverent seriousness, thanks for the reminder that even if I'm not buying green bananas, I damn well need to be working a longterm kidney stone plan. [Just The News] Antagonizing China, some experts fear, might jeopardize the secretive regime's cooperation in both finding the source of COVID-19, as well as preventing or mitigating future pandemics.
A chorus of public health experts and commentators are warning the U.S. to tread carefully in pursuing the COVID-19 lab-leak theory, lest an aggressive investigation worsen already strained U.S.-China relations.
Largely ignored and disparaged by the press and the scientific community over the last 18 months, the lab-leak theory has received an explosion of interest starting several weeks after Joe Biden's inauguration in January. A growing number of scientists, writers and government officials have ramped up pressure to mount a thorough international investigation to determine whether or not the SARS-Cov-2 virus leaked from a Chinese coronavirus lab located in Wuhan just a few miles from the first reported outbreak of the virus.

A snowflake at the CFR speaks up: "Among the experts making that argument is David Fidler, a senior fellow for global health at the Council on Foreign Relations. He told Maxmen that the U.S. is continuing "to poke China in the eye on this issue of an investigation," something that's distracting from the need to "get ready for the next pandemic."
If loss of live from air crashes, sinking ships, and train wrecks are investigated in an effort to determine causes and prevent reoccurrences, then why not COVID-19 ?
Perhaps I ask too many questions and should simply realize, much is beyond my understanding.

The Japanese killed about 2400 Americans at Pearl Harbor, and we reduced Japan to smoking rubble. Whether accidental or a-purpose, a CCP bioweapon just killed some hundreds of thousands of Americans. But we don't want to antagonize them. The lesson is that the Japanese needed to spend more money buying US politicians, newsies, and business tycoons. If they had, we would have been told to view Pearl Harbor in its proper cultural context and to eschew thinking racist thoughts about the Japanese.

"Let the rapist have his way with you - no matter the cost - because to resist might hurt his feelings."
I wonder what the recalculated number will look like a year from now, when they’ve pulled out all those dying with COVID, leaving only those who actually died from it.
Not that China doesn’t deserve getting raked over the coals (after being flayed and rolled in salt) just for trying, but it will be nice to know.
[Free Beacon] Intelligence officials are investigating why suspected Chinese spies returned to the United States on student and work visas at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to internal government documents reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.
Hundreds of Chinese nationals are the subject of a federal probe after law enforcement officials flagged their travel at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chinese nationals returned to the United States earlier than expected in January 2020, often having modified their travel plans. Then-president Donald Trump signed an executive order restricting entry from non-citizens and residents from China on Jan. 31, 2020.
The episode is recounted in an internal report that circulated among various national security and law enforcement agencies on June 3. That report surmises that the Chinese students returned to the United States earlier than expected in order to avoid future travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The United States recorded its first COVID-19 case on January 21, the same day a Chinese scientist said the virus could spread person to person.
"The team examined 58,000 inbound Chinese F/J visa holders in the [Passenger Name Record] database and identified 396 individuals whose return travel was [scheduled] after January 2020 but had returned in January 2020," the report reads.
[Federalist] Retail sales crashed and wholesale prices skyrocketed in May following unprecedented federal spending binges, the U.S. Department of Labor reported on Tuesday. Although most government-mandated lockdowns and school closures related to the COVID-19 pandemic ended months ago, the U.S. economy has been slow to bounce back.
New data from the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics released on Tuesday show that massive federal spending and loose monetary policies from the Federal Reserve have resulted in significant increases in inflation across nearly all goods, services, and sectors of the economy — the biggest inflation spike in 13 years. The latest release shows that producer prices spiked by 6.6 percent during the last year, with prices increasing a whopping 0.8 percent over the last month alone (10.0% yearly run rate).
The rise in producer prices mirrors that of consumer prices, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which have increased 5 percent over the last 12 months.
At the same time, retail sales also crashed, falling 1.3 percent over the last month, according to data released on Tuesday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

[Garowe] When General Yusuf Rageh Odowaa announced major crackdowns against al-Shabaab ...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... in Central and Southern Somalia, he insisted that "we shall crush them, reclaim our territories" and true to his words, the hard boyz have continued to suffer defeats in recent weeks.
But even more fascinating, unlike in many setups of the army, Gen. Odowaa Yusuf Rageh took upon himself to lead a crackdown against the bad boys, something which has seemingly yielded fruits in recent weeks.

[AlAhram] At least 12 people were killed at the weekend in two gun attacks in central Nigeria, an area where tensions have been rising between nomadic herders and local farming communities, police and officials said.
In the first attack, button men opened fire from a car on a bar in Kuru in Jos in Plateau state, killing 10 people before driving off, local police front man Ubah Ogaba said.
"We received a report that 10 persons were rubbed out in a drinking joint at Sabon Layi, Kuru in Jos South LGA by yet to be identified button men who drove in with a (Toyota) Hilux, shot sporadically and zoomed off," he said.
Police said two other people were rubbed out on Sunday in Zagun village also in Plateau.
State Governor Simon Lalong said in a statement that 12 people were killed in Kuru and five more critically maimed.
Northwest and central Nigeria have struggled with tensions between nomadic herders and farmers who tussle over control of resources, water and land.
In Jos, mainly Fulani ... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity... herders have been attacked and their cattle killed in some incidents, leading to reprisal attacks on ethnic Berom and Irigwe farmers in the region.
Jos in Plateau state sits on the dividing line between Nigeria's mainly Christian south and mostly Moslem north.
Most of the violence in wider Plateau state has been linked to a long-running sectarian tensions between mostly Christian farmers and Moslem herdsmen.
[Garowe] Dozens of recruits and their trainers are feared dead, a police brass hat told Garowe Online, following a kaboom at a military training school in Somalia, in what could be a deadly suicide incident in the recent weeks, targeting security forces.
Captain Abdi Barre, who serves in the Somali Police Force confirmed that a jacket wallah blew themself at the military camp named after General Abdikarim Yusuf Dhagabadan, which hosts thousands who recruits and their trainers.
Some reports indicate dozens of recruits may have died in the deadly incident, a number which may exceed most recent deadly raids by faceless myrmidons targeting security forces in the Horn of Africa nation. Those injured have since been rushed to various hospitals in Mogadishu.
The rescue mission was still ongoing at the site, Captain Barre said, adding that military officers were part of the teams conducting the mission. Police officers have since taken control outside the scene of the kaboom, the seasoned officer added.
Named after General Abdikarim Yusuf Dhagabadan, a former army commander who led the offensive that forced al-Shabaab ...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them... to retreat from Mogadishu in August 2011, the military training center is used for equipping special forces in various Somali military forces.
The renowned military general was killed in the al-Shabaab raid on Sahafi hotel in Nov 2015. His efforts in combating the al-Qaeda-linked faceless myrmidons led to the naming of the military camp after him, and it has since remained one of the most appreciated military bases in the country.
Although no group is yet to take responsibility for Tuesday's deadly raid, al-Shabaab faceless myrmidons are known to unleash such attacks, targeting security forces. Early this year, al-Shabaab confessed to having used a suicide bomber in an attempt to attack a Ottoman Turkish-run military base in Somalia.
The attack comes at the time the Somali National Army [SNA] is running a series of operations in the country under the command of Chief of Defense Forces Gen Odowaa Yusuf Rageh. So far, state media confirmed, over 200 faceless myrmidons have been killed in the last three weeks.
The attack at the military base is still developing news, the Garowe Online will keep updating, including the exact number of casualties and those who were maimed.
At least 15 soldiers were killed and dozens more injured in a suicide kaboom targeting a military training camp, south of the Somali capital of Mogadishu, Tuesday, police and witnesses said.
A police officer who did not want to be named told Xinhua that a jacket wallahwent kaboom! at General Dhagobadan military training camp.
"So far, we know that 15 soldiers were killed in the attack. The corpse count could rise at any moment," the officer said, adding that the casualties were mostly recruits joining the Somali National Army (SNA).
"I have counted about 15 new recruits who have been killed in the blast," said army officer Mohammed Adan, adding the toll could be higher.
Adan said the bomber was disguised among recruits queueing up outside the General Dhegobadan Military Camp when the earth-shattering kaboom occurred.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, the deadliest in the capital for 18 months.
Soldiers and military facilities are common targets for al-Shabaab ...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... , an al-Qaeda-aligned jihadist group fighting to overthrow the internationally-backed government in Mogadishu.
Hotels and security checkpoints are also commonly attacked.
Al-Shabaab rose to prominence in 2006. Despite the long deployment of African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... peacekeepers it remains a potent force even though it has lost much of the territory it once controlled.
Good to know, though not directly connected to the War on Terror.
[OneIndia] China, Pakistain and India have 350, 165 and 156 nuclear warheads respectively as of January this year and the three countries appear to be expanding their nuclear arsenals, a study by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) said on Monday. It also said as per its assessment, Russia and the US together possess over 90 percent of the estimated 13,080 global nuclear weapons.
There are nine countries in the world that have nuclear weapons: the US, Russia, the UK, La Belle France, China, India, Pakistain, Israel and North Korea ...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche... "China is in the middle of a significant modernisation and expansion of its nuclear weapon inventory, and India and Pakistain also appear to be expanding their nuclear arsenals," the study said. It has been more than a year since the military standoff between the armies of India and China erupted in eastern Ladakh on May 5, 2020, during which there were fatalities on both sides for the first time in 45 years. India and China have made limited progress in achieving disengagement at the Pangong lake area while negotiations for similar steps at other friction points remained deadlocked.
The SIPRI''s study also talked about the fissile raw material stocks that the countries have for their nuclear weapons. "The raw material for nuclear weapons is fissile material, either highly enriched uranium (HEU) or separated plutonium...India and Israel have produced mainly plutonium, and Pakistain has produced mainly HEU but is increasing its ability to produce plutonium," it said.
China, La Belle France, Russia, the UK and the US have produced both HEU and plutonium for use in their nuclear weapons, the study mentioned. "The governments of India and Pakistain make statements about some of their missile tests but provide no information about the status or size of their (nuclear) arsenals," it noted. Approximately 2,000 of the total 13,080 global nuclear warheads in the world are "kept in a state of high operational alert", said the study mentioned in the SIPRI Yearbook 2021.
It also said Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century... , India, Egypt, Australia and China were the five largest importers of major arms in the world between 2016 and 2020.

Bet all money on the dog willing to use even one. I'd say China is inherently malicious enough to use unprovoked, Israel would in dire necessity, and India if Pak was going to use theirs.
One thing is guaranteed. There would be only one use. The entire world would unite to prevent another, leaving an attacked nuke state with no ability to reciprocate. And then for the next 70+ years everyone would talk about how terrible it all was.
Where are his notecards? Why isn't Nancy standing right next to him in case he, uh, loses his train of thought. But if you put this clip next to a clip of Biden mumbling, the left-wing response would be "Yep, Reagan had Alzheimer's."

[BIZPACREVIEW] Aaron Babbitt, husband of deceased Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, who was shot and killed inside the U.S. Capitol by a police officer, and his attorney, Terrell Roberts, appeared on Fox News’ "Tucker Carlson Tonight" to discuss their ongoing battle to learn the identity of the cop who shot her and why he felt compelled to use deadly force.
During the segment, Roberts appeared to drop a serious clue as to who the Capitol Police officer may be.
Ashli Babbitt, 35, was killed when she allegedly tried to climb through a broken window next to a door outside the Speaker’s Lobby, which leads to the House chamber. The tragic incident was captured on video. A Trump supporter, Babbitt was unarmed and there was no warning heard before the shot suddenly rang out.

The FBI should be criminally prosecuted for having so many agents there as demonstrators and organizers of the 1/6 criminal actions of the riots planted there by Nancy Pelosi herself.
[Business Insider] In early 2002, the US decided to invade Iraq and topple Saddam Hussein and his brutal regime.
Sketchy claims of weapons of mass destruction notwithstanding, the Iraqi military was a potent adversary and one of the largest armies in the world. The US-led Coalition opted to invade from the south and head north toward Bagdad.
As the defender, the Iraqis had the advantage, so US planners sought to divide Iraqi forces with a feint from the north, which meant working with the semi-autonomous Kurds.

Anyone remember the convoys into Iran in the middle of fhe night and fighter jets buried in the desert to hide them inside Iran? The voice/data intercepts talking at length about WMDs by senior Iraqi commanders . the large chemical weapon artillery caches? We thought the significant level of WMDs was there based on our awareness of what was being told to Saddam. The failure was our not being cynical enough abot the lies and BS his own people were giving him.
I remember convoys into Lebanon, whose contents ended up in the Bekaa Valley, NoMoreBS. Buried jets, though I thought they were somewhere in Iraq. The training area of Salman Pak for jihadi hijackers, bomb makers, and manufacturing poison gasses. Also the huge storage areas with bunkers full of leaking barrels of pesticides, so close chemically to nerve gas — some Rantburgers spoke of their own experiences with that last, or knowing people who did.

Believe me when I tell you Salman Pak was an evil place. It was one of Saddam's many WND research and production facilities. Here is a little Wiki piece on Rihab Taha aka 'Doctor Germ' one of his erstwhile researchers.
My vague idea that he’d died some time ago turns out to be wrong. He was just resting.

"I am ready from day one to take the city in a new, upbeat, can-do direction,"
[USASUPREME] President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass....... broke his own standard of the political protocol by attacking his Republican rivals during an overseas summit — but escaped scrutiny from the same media that ripped former President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... for similar moves. The commander-in-chief claimed the Republican party was "fractured" and Trump only had "phony populism" as he spoke at a presser after a NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... summit in Brussels on Monday.
Like his "clown show" from yesterday wasn’t enough he embarrassed our country this morning again!
Quoting Irish poet W. B. Yeats at the start of his first EU-U.S. summit as president, Biden also said the world was shifting and that Western democracies needed to come together.
"The world has changed, changed utterly," Biden, an Irish-American, said, citing from the poem Easter 1916, in remarks that pointed towards the themes of his eight-day trip through Europe: China, the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change.
Sitting at an oval table in the EU’s headquarters with U.S. cabinet officials, Biden told EU institution leaders that the EU and the United States working together was "the best answer to deal with these changes" that he said brought "great anxiety".
Then came the most embarrassing moment where Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass.... confuses himself, gets lost reading his notes.

Watching the Putin Tour de Force on the post summit presser, and noting that Biden apparently left early and will NOT be giving a post summit presser with note cards after all. I would guess he was too shaken and upset by the meeting to be stable enough to even pretend to read note cards, so they simply left the entire world stage to Putin. Can there ever be a more daming act of cowardice and proof of his senility than this? He can't even read note cards after a summit with a genuine, highly competent adversary, he is that damaged.
#11
Biggest takeaway from that presser was that Bidet at the end was walking off and revealed the earpiece that he was wearing, having to put it back in when he was answering the walkaway question at the very end. Everything is about staff telling him what to say and do...
#12
Walked by a television this morning that had NBC today show on. NBC reporter was bragging that a major accomplishment by the Biden administration was ensuring the meeting today with Biden and Putin would start on time. I am not kidding. The performance bar is low for Biden.
Think he was a little frustrated none of the ventriloquists could come up with what to say.
I believe Front and Center is his default setting, so it is too easy for him to acknowledge a question and commit even with his 'getting in trouble with the staff'.
#17
#5 I believe those are just talking points, magpie; so you might very well hear something like this some day. Politicians can accomplish this feat better than stage artists.
"Now this page... this... page, that my administration has ... well... we've turned over a new leaf so to speak, America has. And the page was left blank! By Trump! We'll fill this page...!"
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] A video shared to Tucker Carlson Tonight shows police cars passing by a drive-by shooting in Atlanta
It shows people walking past a dark-colored van parked on the side of the road, when a white car starts shooting at the van, with one shot piercing the vehicle
In January, the Atlanta Police Department established new rules for car chases
The rules state that officers can only engage in a pursuit if they believe the fleeing suspect has committed or attempted to commit a 'forcible felony'
Meanwhile, ...back at the comedy club, Boogie ducked another tomato... crime rates have increased over the past few months

And the government and honest people will pay dearly for such stupidity, the mayor needs to be recalled at the least, or charges filed against him in ever criminal case "aiding and abetting" crime.
#7
Given that blacks are over-represented in the criminal class and being chased stirs ancestral memories of running from Arab slavers back in Mother Africa, pursuing criminals is definitely systemic racism.
Interesting points from a longer piece from a few days ago.
[IsraelTimes] Incoming coalition marks changing of the guard, pushing younger media-savvy politicians, many of whom were the premier’s apprentices, into power.
To most of the world, Prime Minister-designate Naftali Bennett is an unknown figure, a cipher. From Washington to London, Beijing to Moscow, every detail about him is being collected and scrutinized at this moment. Who is this 49-year-old right-wing nationalist, once Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief of staff, who is about to be inaugurated Israel’s next prime minister? One thing is certain — he lacks the mastery of the world stage enjoyed by his predecessor.
But there’s another thing the world should know: Profound changes are afoot in Israel.
Possibly...
The 36th government’s swearing-in signifies a changing of the guard. Though Netanyahu is likely to stick around, the new government will mark a major step in drawing to a close the era of a 71-year-old prime minister, born one year after the establishment of the state, while pushing Israel’s younger high-tech and media-savvy generation into power.
Bennett and Netanyahu are from an entirely different generation; the same goes for Bennett’s partner in the power-sharing government, Yair Lapid. Of all the 28 designated cabinet members, only one is near in age to Netanyahu: the next Diaspora affairs minister, Nachman Shai, 74.
While Netanyahu has been perceived throughout the years as a wizard of tech and media, many of his successors built their public fortune in the news industry. Lapid, Labor’s Merav Michaeli, Meretz’s Nitzan Horowitz, and New Hope’s Gideon Sa’ar all worked as news professionals as columnist, news hound or anchor.
Naftali Bennett made his nut as a software entrepreneur in the U.S.
Another common element worth dwelling on is that many of those about to unseat Netanyahu were his political apprentices.
Bennett was Netanyahu’s chief of staff, Yamina’s Ayelet Shaked was director of Netanyahu’s political office, and Avigdor Liberman was Likud’s director-general, a senior adviser to Netanyahu and a political partner when Likud and Yisrael Beytenu ran on a combined list in the 2013 elections. Blue and White head Benny Gantz was the IDF chief of staff under Netanyahu, Lapid was a senior minister in his 2013 government, and New Hope’s Sa’ar was Netanyahu’s cabinet secretary as well as a senior minister under him.
And further down the list of New Hope politicians, the connections continue: Ze’ev Elkin was a minister in Netanyahu’s cabinet as well as a confidant of the premier, Yoaz Hendel served as Netanyahu’s communication director and Zvi Hauser is a former cabinet secretary.
The politicians making up the foundations of Israel’s next coalition studied in Netanyahu’s academy, learning from the best.
This is the next generation of leaders. They reached this position thanks to him, but also despite him.
The new generation of leaders grew sick of living in the shadow of Netanyahu, a man who is apparently unable to give credit to others for successes. He failed to acknowledge others’ work and dedication, and was almost unable to delegate responsibilities or give anyone a free hand to act as they saw fit. And now, after many years, that centralization of power and egocentrism have played a key role in his removal from the stage.

[REDSTATE] Vladimir Putin ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... sat down with NBC News for his first on-camera interview with a western news agency in more than three years.
Putin avoided public commentary during much of the Trump Administration, but less than six months into the Biden Administration he came out swinging at Biden and the US on a host of issues.
Putin spoke for nearly an hour and a half as Biden met with the leaders of the Group of Seven industrialized nations, from which Russia was suspended in 2014 after it annexed the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea.
This interview was carefully orchestrated by Putin to follow along after Biden’s disastrous public appearances at the G7 and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions... Summits. Putin was not going to allow any demonstration of "unity" coming out of Biden’s first foreign trip to be the only press story ahead of his meetings with Biden.
For the most part defiant, and in some instances just plain trolling the Biden Administration, Putin showed the citizens of this country, using NBC News, why it is he’s going to wipe the floor with addle-minded Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant... or is that an act?... as long as he remains in the White House.
"Did you order the liquidation of the woman who walked into the Congress and who was shot and killed by a policeman?" Mr Putin said, referring to Ashli Babbitt, a Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, woman who died during the riot after being shot by a member of US Capitol Police, who was cleared of wrongdoing in her death.
"Do you know that 450 individuals were arrested after entering the Congress? And they didn’t go there to steal a laptop. They came with political demands," said Mr Putin.
The US, he reasoned, was guilty of the same intolerance for political dissent as his government has been accused of harbouring.

Liquidation is a Rantburg auto-substitution for assassination. The underlines don't show up on mobile. You can't see what word was substituted, because that requires a mouseover, and a mobile phone has no idea what a mouseover event is because it has no concept of a mouse. Rantburg is an ancient site that was never updated for mobile devices, which are what more than half all page views are today.

Actually liquidation is a deliciously ironic term to anyone familiar with the history of Stalinist Russia.
Putin is IIUC a master of judo. He excels at putting his dumb opponents on the back foot.
He knows Biden is a moron who also suffers from dementia as well as incurable, absurdly high self-regard.

The FBI planned and coordinated the 1/6 capital attack. Poorly. The capital hitmen as Piglosi's body guards, under her supervision were to be the firewall if things the FBI were agitating got "out of hand". Problem is the capital police are too stupid to know not to shoot an unarmed female veteran carrying an American flag during his Fraudulency's certification by Piglosi.

[NYPOST] An ex-top trustee of Manhattan’s elite Spence School says she yanked her daughter out over her growing disgust with its racial indoctrination — capped by a class video that "tarred and feathered’’ white women.
Hispanic tech exec Gabriela Baron fired off a scorched-earth letter to the prestigious Upper East Side institution last week seething that the video — shown to her eighth-grade daughter and classmates on graduation day — "openly derides, humiliates and ridicules white women.
"They sat there in their graduation dresses while the white mothers of the white students — many of whom volunteer, donate, call, email and do whatever the school asks of them — were tarred and feathered in a video their teacher showed them. While their white female teachers were mocked,’’ Baron raged in the missive, a copy of which was obtained by The Post.
Baron said the footage, featuring racially charged comedian Ziwe Fumudoh,
... Ziwerekoru Fumudoh, child of Nigerian immigrants, graduate of the elite Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, Northwestern University, and internships at Comedy Central and The Onion. Her idea of comedy was to get her white friends to come on her YourTube show and bait them in to unintentionally saying racist things, even if she had to edit the film to achieve the desired effect...
Wossa modda widdat? I used to do dat wid ma frien's alla time. Back when I had frien's.
was just another indication of what she and her husband "see happening at Spence (and many other schools in NYC).
"Over the last several years my husband and I have grown increasingly concerned about certain trends at Spence, including what we believe is a de-emphasis of academic rigor and a single-minded focus on race, diversity and inclusion that is now driving the School and everything that goes on within its walls,’’ wrote Baron, the daughter of Cuban immigrants colonists.
Spence is among a slew of posh "woke" private schools in New York City that have come under fire for allegedly putting political correctness before actual learning and common-sense.
Baron — who confirmed to The Post on Tuesday that she sent the letter — is an alum of Spence, which includes actresses Gwyneth Paltrow ...Hollywood interchangeable blonde and Eva Braun taste-alike, who's convinced herself that it would be wonderful if Obama were given all the power that he needs. She was married to a guitar player in a rock band, but now she's becoming long in the tooth so he's moved on to somebody else... and Kerry Washington and Michael Nanny Mike Bloomberg ...former Republican mayor of New York. He tried to take the credit for Rudy Giuliani's actions in the wake of the 9-11 attacks. He was known as Nanny Bloomberg for his war on 32-ounce Slurpees. Nanny was a candidate for the Dem presidential nomination in 2020. He won big in American Samoa, not so big anywhere else. He was born on Valentine's day, 1942, which makes him 79.25782 years old, which is pretty ripe. Mike has lots of money, some of which he spends on grass roots organizations pushing for common sense gun laws along the same lines as his common sense Slurpee regulations... ’s daughter Georgina among its graduates. The K-12 school charges more than $57,400 a year per student.
"The blatantly racist video,’’ shown during her daughter’s last middle-school history class was of Fumudoh’s premiere episode of her Showtime talk series "Ziwe,’’ which aired last month, Baron said.
It featured sit-downs with writer Fran Lebowitz, women’s rights icon Gloria Steinem — and four white women named Karen.
The caption to introduce Lebowitz read, "Author, Public Speaker, White Woman.’’ At one point, Fumudoh remarked to her, "I believe that you are not concerned with how annoying white women can be.’’
The host also said, "What percentage of white women do you hate? And there is a right answer."
Fumudoh asked Steinem how many black friends she has, then read her obscene lyrics from the rap song "WAP" by Cardi B ...the eminent American political analyst and entertainer, noted for her dignified performance at the Grammy awards and her well-reasoned commentary on race relations... and Megan Thee Stallion and wanted to know whether the activist felt "empowered’’ by them.
Before the "Karens" took the stage, Fumudoh read what she said was an Urban Dictionary meaning for their name, which included "obnoxious, angry and entitled, often racist, white women.’’
At the end of the segment, Fumudoh gave the women temporary tattoos that said, "Karen & Proud.’’
"It astounds me that a Spence faculty member felt comfortable showing this to students and thought it was acceptable to do so," Baron said of the mocking, cringe-worthy footage.
"Had the video derided and ridiculed Asian women, Black women or Hispanic women, the Spence community would declare with one voice that it was blatantly racist," said the mom, executive vice president of strategy at the tech software firm KLDiscovery, according to her LinkedIn page.

[Rudaw] An Iraqi criminal court handed down two death sentence ...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead... s to a senior al-Qaeda religious leader member, the Supreme Judicial Council announced on Monday.
The unnamed person was the Sharia Mufti of al-Qaeda in Salahddin province, the Supreme Judicial Council stated. He confessed to working as a religious mufti in the terror group and to being a founding member of al-Qaeda in Shirqat, 250 kilometres north of Baghdad. He had several meetings with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaeda’s former leader in Iraq who was killed in a US Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... in 2006.
"The terrorist admitted to issuing fatwas for killing members of the army and police, in addition to his participation in several kidnappings and murders, and his targeting of Peshmerga forces," the judicial council stated.
He also worked with the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group (ISIS) as head of the information department in southern djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , and he purchased weapons and distributed salaries to ISIS members.
That sounds more like working for than merely working with...
After the US occupation of Iraq in 2003, holy warrior groups emerged in the country, including al-Qaeda, which grabbed credit for kidnappings and killings of civilians, and foreign and Iraqi soldiers.
A 2005 Iraq law carries the death penalty for anyone convicted of terrorism, which can include membership in an holy warrior group even if they are not accused of specific acts. In January, Iraq approved death sentences for more than 340 people with charged with terrorism and other criminal offenses.
International observers have expressed concern about the trials and detention conditions of people held on terror charges, including the use of the death penalty for both Iraqi and foreign nationals convicted of involvement with ISIS, the use of violence and torture in prisons, and overcrowding in facilities holding ISIS suspects and their families.
[Rudaw] An Iraqi security and ministerial delegation visited the Makhmour refugee camp on Monday to investigate recent Ottoman Turkish attacks on the camp that have killed four people.
"Baghdad's joint delegation searched the camp. We called for the protection of civilians, and we said that the Kurdistan Region has not allowed our people to enter Erbil and Duhok for two years," Haji Kachan, co-chair of the Makhmour Camp Council, told Rudaw on Monday.
Makhmour camp hosts more than 12,000 Kurdish refugees who fled persecution by the Ottoman Turkish state, mainly in the 1990s. It is located in areas disputed between Erbil and Baghdad. Ankara believes the camp has ties with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). On June 5, a Ottoman TurkishArclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... near the camp killed three people and on Friday, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... claimed it killed a senior PKK official near Makhmour.
The Iraqi government delegation that visited included representatives from the interior and migration ministries, as well as security officials. They asked to set up an Iraqi administration in the camp and make some changes in order to increase protection for the residents, according to Kachan.
The deputy commander of Iraqi Joint Operations on Monday said they need to boost protection for the camp. "Security will be enhanced with the presence of local police forces," said Lieutenant-General Abdul Amir al-Shammari.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is concerned about the camp because residents don’t have recognized identity documents. "The camp is a special situation for us. The problem of the camp residents is that they don’t have official identifications issued by the government of Iraq or United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... . We don’t know that the information on the identification card is information on the holder or not, because they are not official," Dindar Zebari, international advocacy coordinator for the KRG, said in a presser on June 8.
People fled New York, Illinois and California for Texas, Idaho, Arizona and The Carolinas according to data from moving company North American Van Lines
The states of Florida, Texas, and Colorado also saw a greater influx of movers
Despite the pandemic the company claim people continued to move at rates that were comparable to 2019
The data showed that states that have much less densely populated areas were a big draw for people looking to relocate amid the COVID-19 pandemic
The move away from the likes of New York was driven, in part, by an increased fear of living in densely populated cities and rising crime amid the pandemic

[NYPOST] The Justice Department wants the US Supreme Court ...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations... to reinstate the death penalty for Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, saying the horrific nature of his crime warrants a more "just conclusion."The Justice Department wrote in court documents filed Monday that the appellate court had erred when tossing Tsarnaev’s death sentence ...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead... last July due to jury selection concerns in the attack that killed three people and injured 260 others in April 2013.
"The jury carefully considered each of the respondent’s crime and determined that capital punishment was warranted for the horrors that he personally inflicted — setting down a shrapnel bomb in a crowd and detonating it, killing a child and a promising young student, and consigning several others to a ’lifetime of unimaginable suffering,’" Justice Department attorneys wrote in a 48-page brief.
The ruling by the jurors "deserves respect and reinstatement" by the nation’s highest court, attorneys for President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity....... ’s administration said despite his public opposition to the death penalty.
Former Attorney General Bill Barr told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named last year that the administration of President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... would do "whatever’s necessary" to reinstate Tsarnaev’s death penalty.

Unfortunate AG Barr couldn't do.... "whatever’s necessary" to bring Robert Durham's Trump-Russian probe to the light of day. Some degree of finality, reports, findings, indictments, etc.
The Tsarnaev debacle is simply an issue the Deep State wishes to flush down the memory hole. As long as Dzhokhar is still alive, he can share his thoughts and information.
The status of the late Tameran Tsarnaev's wife and Islamic convert Katherine Russell (see graphic) is a far greater curiosity. Yes, she's the one who also lived in the small apartment/bomb factory. Again, I am always eager to hear the details of those not being mentioned, talked about, or questioned.
#2
Ah come on people. You have got to strike directly at the government to get a death penalty - see OKC. The rest of you are expendable for the ruling caste's virtue flashing.
#5
The status of the late Tameran Tsarnaev's wife and Islamic convert Katherine Russell (see graphic) is a far greater curiosity.
The latest I can find is a few articles from last year, Besoeker:
In July 2020, Distractify reported she remarried and has a second child with the unnamed husband.
In April 2020, the Daily Mail published photos of her — in headscarf — and Tamarlane’s daughter taken from Facebook. She was apparently still on an FBI watchlist and mentioned in a book about the Boston Marathon bombing by Michele McPhee.
#6
The DOJ argued that the Supreme Court should reinstate the death penalty for Tsarnaev after an appeals court vacated the sentence. It was the Trump DOJ that had first pushed for this, and while the Biden White House has not interfered, they publicly disagreed with the move.
#7
I did a pretty in-depth open-source analysis of the Boston Marathon bombing and the Tsarnaev bros. back in 2013. I still believe the Tamerlan Tsarnaev was an intelligence community source gone bad. The younger brother might have simply been along for the ride.
[Garowe] At least 27 people have been arrested in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, over human trafficking offences, police said, in what is believed to have been a well-coordinated ring that comprises even more criminals.
Sadiq Aden Doodishe, the police spokesperson, told news hounds that 27 people among them two women have since been arrested, and are all waiting to be arraigned in court for human trafficking offenses.
The arrests, he added, were made between June 8 and to date, with the suspects recording various statements over the cases. It's believed that quite a number of traffickers are on the run given the cases reported in various stations in the country.
He said the suspects were responsible for trafficking youth out of the country but did not give details about the ring. Most youths are ferried out of the country to the Middle East for odd jobs and some are said to be recruited in terror groups, the spokesperson added.
The human trafficking syndicate has been operating the capital for a while, the coppers acting on a tip-off, have successfully arrested the operators. "Our officers are carrying out investigations into their cases and soon they will be taken to court to face charges," said Doodishe.
Authorities in Puntland ...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion... last year said they had rescued over 300 children who had been kidnapped from their families in the hope of being given rewarding jobs only to end up in the hands of human traffickers who use the children for among others, organ harvesting.
Further, police in Mogadishu rescued children aged between seven months and twelve years after bursting a trafficking ring and arrested eleven people among them, eight women. The incident took place in September 2019.
Most of those trafficked out of the country are exposed to inhumane treatment and at times are found stranded in host countries. A number of cases have been reported in Libya and the Middle East involving Somali citizens being trafficked out of the country.
Somalia is struggling with a myriad of challenges and human traffickers have often taken advantage to commit such crimes. Among others, Somalia is keen to fight terrorism and embrace political order that would minimize conflicts in the Horn of Africa nation.

The SS4C Auckland announced its disbandment on Facebook. The group said its organizers had "avoided, ignored, and tokenized BIPOC voices and demands," especially those of Pacific Islanders and Māori individuals.
"Going forward, we will only be using our social media to uplift BIPOC-led climate justice spaces in Auckland," the organization said. "We apologize for the hurt, burnout, and trauma caused to many BIPOC individuals, including current and past members, as well as BIPOC-led groups. [AMGREATNESS] Two high-ranking employees have been forced to resign from a well-known American medical journal after they publicly criticized the notion of "systemic racism," according to Campus Reform.
The resignations came from Deputy Editor Edward Livingston and Editor-in-Chief Howard Bauchner, of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Livingston submitted his resignation to Bauchner, then his superior, in March after Livingston appeared on a podcast where he stated that "no physician is racist," a sentiment that was repeated in a tweet from the American Medical Association (AMA) promoting the podcast.
Livingston’s comments were criticized by far-left activists, including a black female doctor with the AMA named Aletha Maybank, who called his comments "wrong, absolutely appalling, and at its very core...a demonstration of structural and institutional racism." Maybank provided no evidence whatsoever to prove that Livingston was a racist, or that "structural racism" is even real.
Bauchner issued an apology on behalf of Livingston’s comments, declaring that he was "profoundly disappointed in myself for the lapses that led to the publishing of the tweet and podcast." Although Bauchner admitted that he "did not write or even see the tweet, or create the podcast," he was nevertheless "ultimately responsible for them" as the editor-in-chief of the publication.
Subsequently, Bauchner announced on June 1st that he would be resigning by the end of the month, after having served as editor-in-chief since 2011. He added that he had "always supported the AMA’s commitment to dismantling structural racism in the institutions of American medicine...and look forward to personally contributing to that work going forward."

[Rudaw] One person died in width:1px;border-bottom-style:dotted;border-bottom-color:gray;' title='an explosion'>a kaboom in Halabja on Monday. Police suspect it was a suicide.
The victim, identified as a 29-year-old man, "went to the park at 9am and greeted the two gardeners. Then, he moved away from them and shortly a sound was heard," Asayish (security forces) said in a statement submitted to Rudaw.
Kazim Abdullah, head of Halabja police, initially told Rudaw it was not clear whether the earth-shattering kaboom in the town’s Sharawani neighborhood was caused by an improvised bomb (IED), boom belt, or something else.
Asayish forces are investigating the incident and have reached the initial conclusion that "it was a suicide, which was carried out with a sound grenade."

[Rudaw] One person was killed and four people were maimed in a boom-mobileing in the northwestern Syrian region of Afrin on Tuesday, local media reported.
The blast took place near the entrance to the town of Kafr Jannah, in close vicinity to pro-Ottoman Turkish military checkpoints, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported. The car was on its way to Afrin, according to North Press Agency.
Afrin is a Kurdish-majority region in Syria’s northwest. Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) took control of the area after regime forces re-deployed to defend Arab-majority areas against rebels after the start of the Syrian uprising in 2011.
The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... and its Syrian proxies invaded Afrin in March 2018, forcing hundreds of thousands of people — mostly Kurds — to flee to other areas controlled by the YPG, especially Shahba, north of Aleppo. Since the invasion, there have been several explosions and boom-mobileings in the Afrin region and the YPG has sporadically clashed with Ottoman Turkish-backed militias who are accused of committing war crimes.
[AMN via Bongino] Biden launches Domestic Terrorism Strategy targeting anti-gov’t ideology, white supremacy and more
The White House on Tuesday announced President Joe Biden’s National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism, a first-of-its-kind, four-pillared approach to improve how domestic terrorism is defined, identified, and combated. The strategy’s main aim is to target those with racist or anti-government ideology, which the administration says is espoused by domestic terrorists.
The strategy says that experts and evidence have shown today’s domestic terrorists include those who espouse "racial or ethnic bigotry and hatred" as well as "anti-government or anti-authority sentiment." However, anti-law enforcement ideologies such as those espoused by Antifa and Black Lives Matter were not mentioned.
A senior administration official told American Military News and other outlets on a Monday press call that the strategy aims to "create conditions of public safety and ensure people can express their political views as is appropriate in a democracy." Read the whole thing, particularly, the parts about working with tech companies, purifying the military and using the military to help law enforcement confront "domestic terrorism"

[ToloNews] Five workers in a polio ...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set. Currently the disease is only found in Pakistain and Afghanistain... vaccination campaign were killed and four more were maimed in five separate attacks in Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. province on Tuesday morning, said Ataullah Khogyani, front man for the provincial governor.
The attacks were perpetrated by unknown gunnies in Sorkh Rod and Khogyani districts and the city of Jalalabad, Khogyani said.
He said that two of the maimed are at death's door.
Khogyani said that special security measures were not provided to the campaign workers even though security agencies have been asked to cooperate with health workers.
So far, no group has grabbed credit for the attacks.
This comes as three women working for the polio vaccination campaign were killed in two separate attacks in the city of Jalalabad in Nangarhar province on March 30.
Figures by UNICEF show that 56 new cases of poliovirus were reported in Afghanistan in 2020.
The campaign is expected to cover 9.6 million children under five years of age in the country.
According to sources, this is not the first time that vaccinators have been targeted in Afghanistan.
It had also been reported that vaccinators were killed in Ghor, Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... and Nimroz Provinces.
The polio workers were bumped off in three different locations over two hours, in a "co-ordinated attack", Nangarhar police front man Farid Khan said.
"This is the work of the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... , targeting health workers to deprive people of polio vaccines," he said.
Health ministry front man Osman Taheri confirmed the attacks.
The Taliban denied responsibility.
Polio has been eradicated across the world apart from Afghanistan and neighbouring Pakistain, where distrust of vaccines and eradication campaigns is rife.
Officials said two vaccinators were killed and one maimed in Tuesday's attacks in Khogyani district, while two were killed in Surkhrod.
In the other attack, three vaccinators were maimed in the quiet provincial capital, Jalalabad.
The vaccination drive in the province had now been halted, another health official told AFP.

[Powerline] Donald Trump sent out this email a few minutes ago:
I have accepted the invitation of Texas Governor Greg Abbott to join him on an official visit to our Nation’s decimated Southern Border on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
The Biden Administration inherited from me the strongest, safest, and most secure border in U.S history and in mere weeks they turned it into the single worst border crisis in U.S history. It’s an unmitigated disaster zone.
We went from detain-and-remove to catch-and-release. We went from having border security that was the envy of the world to a lawless border that is now pitied around the world. Biden and Harris have handed control of our border over to cartels, criminals, and coyotes. Drug dealers, MS-13 gang members, human smugglers, sex traffickers, and the criminal elements of the world now have free reign. Hospitals and schools are getting crushed and public health is being sacrificed all in service of a radical left anti-borders agenda. Our brave border agents and courageous ICE officers have been illegally stopped from doing their jobs. Our Nation is now one giant sanctuary city where even dangerous criminals are being cut loose and set free inside the U.S interior on a daily basis.
If this weren’t bad enough, Biden and Harris won’t even tour the scenes of the wreckage they created, or come down and visit with the Border Patrol and ICE heroes risking their lives to defend our Nation at a time when the White House is doing everything it can to make their job totally impossible.
What Biden and Harris have done, and are continuing to do on our border, is a grave and willful dereliction of duty.
My visit will hopefully shine a spotlight on these crimes against our Nation—and show the incredible people of ICE and Border Patrol that they have our unshakeable support.
It will be hard for the press to continue averting its eyes from the border with Trump there. It’s a great look: Biden and Harris won’t go to the border, but Trump does—on an official visit with the Governor of Texas. And, of course, everything he says in his email is true.
[FoxNews] Campbell was charged with second-degree murder.
A Washington state man is accused of firing two rounds into a person attempting to steal his truck’s catalytic converter and then dragging the victim, who was still alive, and leaving him in a nearby field to die.
King 5, citing court documents, reported that the incident occurred at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday. Michael Scott Campbell, 54, told Lakewood police that he was sleeping and roused by someone trying to steal the car part.
Campbell, who has been charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping, allegedly told police that he noticed two legs sticking out from under the truck and fired two shots "straight down."
The would-be thief attempted to get back to his own car but could not make it and collapsed. Campbell allegedly told police that the individual was still talking when he tied his hands to the ball hitch of the F-150.
The report said the shooting occurred in a parking lot of a business. One witness told police that he saw the truck dragging some kind of object. Officers said the victim was dragged about 400 feet.
The would-be thief was still alive when dropped off in the field, charging documents said, according to Q13Fox.com.

Stealing a catalytic converter involves cutting through two metal exhaust pipes. You could do it slowly with a hacksaw, but a battery-powered angle grinder or sawzall is a whole lot quicker. Either way is pretty noisy. And a bit unusual at 4am.

The bandidosbandidos bully boys were identified by the police as Fayaz War and Mudasir Pandit. In the attack four coppers and four civilians were maimed. After being shifted to hospital two constables, Showkar Ahmad and Waseem Ahmed gave up the ghost.
Two civilians, Bashir Ahmad and Manzoor Ahmad Shalla, who were vegetable vendors too gave up the ghost. The Jammu and Kashmir police in a statement said that they stand by the deaders at such a critical juncture.
All three bandidosbandidos bully boys killed in Anantnag encounterAll three bandidosbandidos bully boys killed in Anantnag encounter
Officials tell OneIndia that the attack was planned and executed by Lashkar-e-Tayiba bandidosbandidos bully boys War and Pandit. The reconnaissance was conducted by the two along with a foreign (Pakistain) terrorist, the official also said.
The Lashkar-e-Tayiba has off late stepped up operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier this month, a front of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba which calls itself People's Anti Fascist Front grabbed credit for the killing of BJP councillor Rakesh Pandita when he was visiting his friend's house in the Tral area of Pulwama district, officials said here. The front said that Pandita was involved in creating a network of informers.
If the Hindus believe that their evil designs can take roots in Kashmir, then it is delusional of a great magnitude. We have an eye on every activity and will deal with them appropriately, the release signed by the spokesperson of the front, Tanveer Ahmad Rather said.

The People's Anti Fascist Front is an ISI construct, armed and trained in the same gear and routines as Lashkar muj, and most of its elements known to the previous Lashkar arrestees. It's the same as the Resistance Front, only a name for the jihadist arm of Pakistain to hide behind.
Branding a locally recruited jihad faction as an indigenous Indian Antifa is an attempt to dissociate it from islam and ride on the far-left ticket, pass off as youth disgruntled with our authoritarianism.
We have some of that going on here, too. Not separate organizations, but the children of those linked to jihad being loudly super woke, a different path to conquest. The daughter of the honourable Representative from Detroit, Ilhan Omar is one, and today we have the story of Virginia school board member Abrar Omeish , one of the four children of uber-connected Muslim Brotherhood emir Dr. Esam Omeish.
The problem persists only because our constitutions are too self-righteous and inflexible to serve our societies in conditions which have changed considerably from when these silly documents were written. But men still see the value in them, sometimes even more than in themselves.
Problems which we have thus incubated over centuries of 'intellectual refinement' have now matured into civilizational threats, while our own laws have emasculated us into acceptance of just about anything.
[Rudaw] Villagers in northern Duhok witnessed intense festivities between the Ottoman Turkish military and Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on Sunday night.
Ottoman Turkish forces and the PKK were engaged in a fierce battle for more than an hour near the village of Hiror in Kani Masi sub-district.
"After 9:00 pm Ottoman Turkish warplanes bombed Qomri valley. After 10:00 pm, the Ottoman Turkish army launched helicopter Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s on Hiror village," Eyad Hirori, who lives in the village, told Rudaw on Sunday. "Fire broke out in the area, and the bombardment continued."
There were no casualties in the village, Hassan Ahmed, a student from the village, told Rudaw English on Monday.
The PKK is an armed Kurdish group that has fought the Ottoman Turkish state for decades, seeking increased rights of Kurds. It has bases in the Kurdistan Region mountains. Ankara considers it a threat to its national security and frequently sends fighter jets, attack helicopters, drones, and ground troops across the border to fight the group.
In late April, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... launched Operations Claw-Lightning and Claw-Thunderbolt against the PKK in the Metina and Avashin areas of northern Duhok, near the border. A goal of the operation is to block PKK movements between its bases in the Kurdistan Region and Turkey and Syria.
In May, the Ottoman Turkish army set up at least one outpost near Hiror.
"The Ottoman Turkish army once entered the village to tell residents they don't need to leave their homes because they won't be harmed. The Hiror villagers are so courageous that they would not evacuate their village," the student Ahmed said.
The conflict has, however, driven away tourists from Hiror.
(CNN)The Senate unanimously passed a resolution on Tuesday establishing June 19 as Juneteenth National Independence Day, a US holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
Not a bad thing to commemorate.
The legislation has gained momentum since the massive Black Lives Matter protests sparked by the police killing of George Floyd last year and the Democrats' takeover of the White House and Congress.
But Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson blocked the bill in 2020, saying that the day off for federal employees would cost US taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars. Johnson dropped his objection this week despite his concerns, paving the way for the bill's passage in the Senate.
"Although I strongly support celebrating Emancipation, I objected to the cost and lack of debate," said Johnson in a statement. "While it still seems strange that having taxpayers provide federal employees paid time off is now required to celebrate the end of slavery, it is clear that there is no appetite in Congress to further discuss the matter."
The measure needs to pass the House and be signed by President Joe Biden to become law. On June 19, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger announced in Galveston, Texas, the end of slavery in accordance with President Abraham Lincoln's 1863 Emancipation Proclamation.

It would take a new law to increase the number of federal days off, so they’ll have to choose whether to trade it for Columbus Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, or Labor Day.

The Emancipation Proclamation, or Proclamation 95, was a presidential proclamation and executive order issued by United States President Abraham Lincoln on September 22, 1862, during the Civil War. The Proclamation read:
That on the first day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, all persons held as slaves within any State, or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free; and the executive government of the United States, including the military and naval authority thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of such persons, and will do no act or acts to repress such persons, or any of them, in any efforts they may make for their actual freedom.[2]
On January 1, 1863, the Proclamation changed the legal status under federal law of more than 3.5 million enslaved African Americans in the secessionist Confederate states from enslaved to free. As soon as a slave escaped the control of the Confederate government, either by running away across Union lines or through the advance of federal troops, the person was permanently free. Ultimately, the Union victory brought the proclamation into effect in all of the former Confederacy.

On factual historical note.
The CSA was already a seperate nation.
So the US union presidents proxlamaition was equal China telling us to pay Reparations.
It had zero legal standing until the north invaded and defeated the CSA.
Plus the north still at least 4 slave states fighting under the union banner the whole.
So the end of the war was the actual freeing of slaves... and even then only after a constitutional amendment about 2+ years later around 1867.

Twenty years a slave,

An upright good man,
he dreamed of only
respect, freedom and oh!
Maybe an Amendment 15th?
His wishes are dust,
for the wrong brain trust,
got wind of a great hustle.
And fresh off their boats,
with dubious quotes,
they began to demand... a teenth.

[NBCNews] The Interior Department said it would “comply with the decision,” signaling that lease sales to drill in Alaska and in the Gulf of Mexico will likely resume — at least for now.
In a setback for President Joe Biden’s efforts on climate change, a federal judge in Louisiana on Tuesday blocked the administration’s temporary ban on new leases to drill for oil and gas on public lands and ordered that lease sales continue.
The Interior Department said it would “comply with the decision,” signaling that lease sales to drill in Alaska and in the Gulf of Mexico will likely resume — at least for now.
During Biden’s first says in office, his Interior Department paused new leases while reviewing the program to decide whether extracting oil and gas from federal lands and waters should continue in the future, as the president seeks to wean the U.S. off fossil fuels. The Interior Department has held a public forum on the issue and said that an interim report on the future of the program would be coming over the summer.
But Louisiana state Attorney General Jeff Landry and 12 other GOP attorneys general sued in March to block the temporary ban, arguing the administration had circumvented legal requirements for carrying out such a move. On Tuesday, Judge Terry Doughty of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana issued a preliminary injunction blocking the administration from enforcing its moratorium.
Doughty said his order applies “nationwide.”
“Millions and possibly billions of dollars are at stake,” Doughty wrote in a 44-page memorandum accompanying the injunction. “Local government funding, jobs for Plaintiff State workers, and funds for the restoration of Louisiana’s Coastline are at stake. Plaintiff States have a reliance interest in the proceeds derived from offshore and on land oil and gas lease sales.”
An Interior Department spokesperson responded to the injunction late Tuesday by saying the administration would keep working on the interim report and the recommendations on how to improve use of public lands and waters to create jobs and “build a just and equitable energy future.”
“We are reviewing the judge’s opinion and will comply with the decision,” the department said, without specifying any plans to appeal the injunction.
The setback comes as Biden is seeking to rapidly transition the U.S. away from oil, gas and coal, fossil fuels that emit carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases blamed for global warming, including by ramping up production of renewable energy sources. A 2018 federal government report found that close to one quarter of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions come from fuels extracted from federal lands.
As a presidential candidate, Biden committed to “banning new oil and gas permitting on public lands,” a move sought by climate activists who say federal land shouldn’t be used to drill for planet-warming fossil fuels.
But despite Democrats’ broad support for his climate goals, Biden has come under intense pressure from some in his own party over the potential ban, especially in New Mexico, where roughly a third of the state is federal land and the public school system is highly dependent on revenues from that drilling.

Judge Doughty is a Trump nominee. The court to which any appeal would go, the Fifth Circuit, is chock-full of Trump nominees. And it turns out that "nationwide injunctions" work both ways. (snicker)

Good. Leases should not be handed out and then cancelled by just one person. Call that crony capitalism and tyranny.
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Justin Tyran Roberts, a 39-year-old black man, was targeting white males in his two day long shooting spree that spanned two states, according to police.
Roberts is accused of shooting and wounding five people in Georgia and Alabama over the weekend.
Detective Brandon Lockhart testified on Monday that Roberts told police that "white men had picked on him and wronged him for all his life," according to a report from the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer.
"Basically, he explained throughout his life, specifically white males had taken from him, and also what he described as military-looking white males had taken from him," Detective Lockhart said.
The police do not believe that there was any connection between Roberts and the victims, all of whom are expected to recover.
The five shootings took place during three separate assaults in Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama.
Roberts appeared in court on Monday for his preliminary hearing regarding one of the incidents where he shot a man in the back who was entering his vehicle.
Lockhart testified that Roberts said, "I had to have him," about the victim, according to the Ledger-Enquirer’s report.
"Roberts also claimed that such men were ’shooting at him in a wooded area with a slingshot,’ and the wounds had infected his skin, Lockhart testified. But he said police saw no injuries to substantiate that," the report explains.
The public defender representing Roberts has requested that he undergo a mental health evaluation and claims he was suffering from "delusions."
"The officer’s testimony has demonstrated that Mr. Roberts is having delusions and a disconnect from reality," King told the judge.

I blame a doting, helicopter father, an oppressive Christian faith, excessive employment overtime, an inability to obtain a foto-ID, competing academic scholarships, lack of internet knowledge, and Donald Trump.

Remember when a two day two state shooting spree would make the news while it was occurring.... Guess the news knew the MO before it was done and put a lid on that one.
[Rudaw] The Iraqi army launched a new military operation on Monday, pursuing Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group (ISIS) snuffies in the north and west, the military’s Security Media Cell announced.
The "Lions of the Peninsula" operation focuses in the Jazeera region in Anbar, western Nineveh, and Salahaddin provinces, with the support of the air force, said spokesperson for the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, General Yehia Rasool.
Iraqi security forces have conducted several operations against ISIS already in June. On Saturday, a large-scale security operation was launched to track down ISIS cells south of djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... . A similar operation took place earlier in the month between Kifri and Tuz Khurmatu in Diyala, with the cooperation the Peshmerga and French forces of the global coalition.
The coalition said in a tweet on Monday that Iraqi security forces killed three faceless myrmidons and seized dozens of IEDs and weapons between June 5 and 11.
ISIS swept across Iraq and Syria, seizing control of swathes of territory in 2014. It was declared territorially defeated in Iraq in December 2017 and in Syria in March 2019, but remains a threat on both sides of the border where snuffies carry out bombings, hit-and-run attacks, and abductions.
[NYPOST] A Virginia school district has gained national attention over its commencement speaker’s controversial speech telling graduates they were entering a world of "racism, extreme versions of individualism and capitalism, [and] white supremacy ...the pernicious doctrine that laws were intended to be obeyed, that society works better when people don't pour shreiking from their places of worship every Friday for a weekend of rioting over insults real or imagined; and that cannibalism, beastiality, incest, murder, theft, rape, and similar activities are bad. A Dead White European (which invalidates his opinion) philosopher once opined that societies thrive when a person's word can be relied upon, and that a society which puts individual happiness first will invariably fail. Strangely enough, other successful societies, such as China, Japan, Korea, and those kinds of places could also be lumped with white supremacist societies, since they push the same values... Abrar Omeish, the sole Moslem member of the Fairfax County School Board in Virginia, delivered the commencement address at Justice High School in Falls Church, Va., last Monday.
Her speech, first reported by the Daily Wire, began by congratulating the class of 2021 in English, Arabic and Spanish.
"Today we checked off a box in your academic journey. As a human being, you have developed and you have grown," she said before shifting her tone from inspirational to political.
"We struggle with human greed, racism, extreme versions of individualism and capitalism, white supremacy growing wealth gaps, disease, climate crisis, extreme poverty amidst luxury and waste right next door," she told the graduates. "And the list goes on."
"You understand that social justice is only political for those that can afford to ignore it. You understand that ’neutral’ is another word for complicit. And you have made a choice to take a stand," Omeish continued.
The commencement speaker went on to give the graduates some advice.
"The world may try to quiet you by deciding for you what’s cool, what’s weird, what is or isn’t objective. It may try to convince you that what you hold dear is too different to be accepted," she said, asking, "But who gets to decide?"
"Every part of your being may scream in rage at the ways others have wronged you," the school board member warned. Students, she continued, should "let compassion for your fellow human beings, not anger or rage — and believe me, this is hard to do — fuel you."
Omeish’s speech was preceded by an introduction from the president of the student government. The student body president noted that their next speaker was "Virginia co-chair for the Bernie Sanders ...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being an Independent socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around... campaign," as well as the daughter of Esam Omeish,
...Libyan-born surgeon, former president of the Muslim American Society (MAS) — one of the American branches of the Muslim Brotherhood — and pet of former Virginia governor Timothy Kaine, who ran and lost in 2016 as Hillary Clinton’s vice president...
"leader and a board member of the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center
...where Army psychiatrist Major Nidal Hasan used to hang out while he was working up to committing jihad against his Fort Hood fellows, and before that the pulpit of Anwar al-Awlaki, whose hiring was recommended by Dr. Esam Omeish...
[who] raised his daughter to be an outspoken woman."
[PJ] Robert Redfield, the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told Fox News that he believes the COVID-19 pandemic most likely was caused by a lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and that the World Health Organized was "too compromised" to be fully transparent in their investigation into COVID’s origins.
"...I said before that I didn’t think it was biologically plausible that COVID-19 went from a bat to some unknown animal into man and now had become one of the most infectious viruses," Redfield told Fox News contributor Dr. Marc Siegel. "That’s not consistent with how other coronaviruses have come into the human species. And it does suggest that there’s an alternative hypothesis that it went from a bat virus, got into a laboratory, where, in the laboratory, it was taught, educated, it evolved, so that it became a virus that could efficiently transmit human to human."
Despite being written off as a conspiracy theory for nearly a year, the lab-leak theory, though not definitively proven, has been recognized as a legitimate theory. Last month, The Wall Street Journal reported that three researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology had developed severe COVID-like symptoms in November 2019. Since then, not only has Facebook reversed its policy banning articles alleging the virus was man-made, but Dr. Fauci admitted the theory could be true, and emails released by FOIA showed that Fauci was informed that the virus had "unusual features" that "potentially look manmade." and that he even briefed world leaders that the virus may have leaked from the lab.
Redfield lamented the scientific community’s "lack of openness" to "pursue both hypotheses."
[Real Conservatives Unite] Comedian Jon Stewart overpowered Stephen Colbert’s ability to shill on Monday, hijacking the Late Show’s return to a live (and fully vaccinated) audience with an epic rant on the COVID-19 lab-leak theory.
"I think we owe a great debt of gratitude to science. Science has, in many ways, helped ease the suffering of this pandemic, which was more than likely caused by science," Stewart said after Colbert asked how he was feeling about the scientific response to COVID-19.
"Do you mean perhaps there’s a chance that this was created in a lab?" asked Colbert, adding "There’s an investigation."
"A chance?" shot back Stewart — kicking the door open.
"Oh my god, there’s a novel respiratory coronavirus overtaking Wuhan, China, what do we do? Oh, you know who we could ask? The Wuhan novel respiratory coronavirus lab. The disease is the same name as the lab. That’s just a little too weird, don’t you think? And then they asked those scientists — they’re like ’how did this... so wait a minute, you work at the Wuhan respiratory coronavirus lab. How did this happen?’ and they’re like ’mmmm — a pangolin kissed a turtle?’ and you’re like ’no... the name of your lab! If you look at the name! Can I... let me see your business card. Show me your business card. Oh — I work at the coronavirus lab in Wuhan. Oh, cause there’s a coronavirus loose in Wuhan. How did that happen?’
’Maybe a bat... flew into the Cloaca of a turkey and... then it sneezed into my chili. And now we all have Coronavirus."
Stewart landed one final joke as Colbert desperately tried to control the situation;

[AlAhram] Sudan's transitional government and the country's main rebel group failed to reach a peace deal to end a decades-long conflict in the East African country, officials said Tuesday.
The latest round of talks between the Sudanese government and the Sudan Popular Liberation Movement - North, led by Abdel-Aziz al-Hilu, began last month in South Sudan's capital, Juba.
Sudan's transitional government has been engaging in peace talks with rebel groups over the past two years. It's looking to stabilize the country and help its fragile path to democracy survive following the overthrow of Omar al-Bashir ...Former President-for-Life of Sudan He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself head cheese. He fell out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Hee was overthrown by popular consent in 2019. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it... in April 2019. It reached a peace deal with another rebel alliance in October.
Sudan and the PLM-N agreed Tuesday to end negotiations and conduct further consultations over their disputed points, said Tut Galuak, a security adviser to South Sudan's president who led mediation efforts.
He said the two sides have reached ``significant understandings of the disputed issues,'' and that ``only four out of 19 points'' remain unsolved. He did not elaborate.
Galuak's comments came in a statement released by Sudan's ruling sovereign council.
Also in the statement, Gen. Shams Eddin Kabashi ... then a major, led a military contingent south of Khartoum that ensured the overthrow of the civilian Sadiq al-Mahdi government in July 1989. Subsequently, he was known as one of the most brutal supporters of the government of General Bashir... , a member of the sovereign council and the government's chief negotiator, said the sides would return to the negotiating table ``once conditions are more favorable.''
The rebel group's chief negotiator, Ammar Amount, said they have agreed on between 75% to 80% of the deal and the remaining issues need further consultations with their leaders.
Neither side gave a time frame for a return to the talks.
Al-Hilu's movement is Sudan's single largest rebel group and is active in the Blue Nile and South Kordofan provinces, where it controls significant chunks of territory.
The most recent round of talks came less than two months after the government and the al-Hilu movement signed a declaration of principles detailing a roadmap for the talks.
Al-Hilu's group participated in negotiations leading up to that agreement but did not sign the final deal. It called for a secular state with no role for religion in lawmaking, the disbanding of all of al-Bashir's militias and the re-vamping of the country's military. al-Hilu's group said if its demands aren't met, it will call for self-determination in areas it controls.
Another major rebel group, the Sudan Liberation Movement-Army, led by Abdel-Wahid Nour, rejects the transitional government and has not taken part in talks.
Sudanese rebels for years fought al-Bashir's loyalists in Darfur but also in the southern provinces of Blue Nile and South Kordofan. The fighting has often fallen along religious and ethnic lines.
[LIFEZETTE] Kelly Tshibaka, the Republican who is challenging incumbent Sen. Lisa Daddy, can I be a senator? Murkowski ... representing K Street ... (R-AK) in Alaska, released her first television ad of this election cycle on Monday. In the ad, Tshibaka opens up about growing up in Alaska, saying that her parents were able to rise from homelessness to middle class in the state in the 1970s.
"Growing up wasn’t always easy," she said. "My mom and dad were homeless, surviving in a canvas tent. But tough times made me who I am today. I’m a conservative. Pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, and America First. Always. We’re raising our five kids with those same Alaska values."
"The insiders don’t like me because I spent my career exposing taxpayer fraud and abuse," Tshibaka continued. "That’s okay. I’m not running for them. I’m running for you."

[DAILYWIRE] In the latest setback for those seeking an increase in the federal minimum wage, Amazon announced that it will be opening its first full-size and fully operational grocery store, complete with "cashierless checkout technology" in Washington state. But anybody that's left will be making $18 an hour.
This "Amazon Fresh" store will utilize what the Big Tech giant has dubbed, "Just Walk Out" technology, which means that you do not have to stop at a checkout register to pay for your items. Upon entry to the store, customers scan a QR code with their Amazon account details, while the store infrastructure tracks what is selected from the shelves. The customer can then leave, and Amazon will bill their account automatically.
"The new store will also allow for customers to use Amazon One to scan their palm or insert a credit or debit card linked to their Amazon account to enter the store," CNET reported.
According to the outlet, the "Amazon Fresh" store will open on June 17 at the marketplace at Factoria Square Mall in Bellevue, Washington. "It’ll also have Amazon package pickup and returns, Alexa kiosks and the Amazon One payment system, as well as traditional checkout registers if you want to pay for your groceries in the usual way," CNET added.
"Just Walk Out technology is made possible by a combination of computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning, and adds convenience to customers’ grocery shopping experience by giving them the option to come in, pick up what they want, and skip the checkout when they’re done," Amazon explained in a statement. "Anyone shopping at the new Amazon Fresh store can take advantage of the technology, which connects to customers’ Amazon account or credit card. Customers are prompted at the store’s entry gates to choose if they want to use Just Walk Out shopping or the traditional checkout lanes."

[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish intelligence services arrested a top Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) official who was accused of planning a large-scale terrorist attack in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... during an operation within Syria, state media reported on Tuesday.
The MIT launched an operation to capture Kasim Guler, also known as Abu Usame al Turki, after they discovered that he was allegedly preparing to launch an attack by crossing the border from Syrian territory to Turkey, state-owned Anadolu Agency (AA) reported. Guler, who is suspected of being responsible for activities in Turkey, was listed among the most wanted turbans by the Interior Ministry.
Turkey's wanted list is color-coded with red representing the most wanted. Other levels are blue, green, orange, and gray.
ISIS members are often arrested in Istanbul as part of counterterrorism operations, however this is the first red category arrest in the country, according to Anadolu
Guler held a senior position in the terrorist group, he was referred to as the financial officer of ISIS in Russia, Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... and Turkey.
According to AA, Guler was preparing to enter Turkey illegally.
Late May, they arrested eight suspected ISIS members in a series of operations in the city.
At least 26 ISIS suspects were arrested in Istanbul in April. Eighteen suspects were arrested in March, 16 of whom were foreign nationals.
Turkey is a member of the Global Coalition Against ISIS (ISIS), formed in 2014 after ISIS seized large parts of Iraq and Syria.
However, the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits... Turkey has been accused of financially and militarily supporting ISIS, according to a report from a former UN advisor, a claim that Ankara continually denies.
