Top Secret Meeting of Mainstream Media, Big Tech, and Intelligence Heads Is Taking Place This Week In Idaho
"Every time people talk about the Mainstream media conglomerates secretly collaborating with each other. Visions of smoke-filled rooms and shadowy figures wearing expensive suits sitting around a table come to mind. Well, this may be an exaggerated expectation at the behind-the-scenes look at the issue, but it isn’t all that far from the truth.

Every July since 1983 a small group of media moguls, tech titans, investors, politicians, and intelligence agency insiders, all gather in the small town of Sun Valley, Idaho, for a week of meetings to develop the consensus regarding policies for Mainstream media, social media, and emerging communications technology."

Well, it certainly lookslike a diverse group.../s

#4  What has Joe done to hack off the Australians, I wonder?

The Australians are quite worried about China, and with good reason. They would like the US to play a strong role, but have to be worried about all the signs that China has bought and paid for goodly chunks of the Biden regime.

#3  According to the editorialist, the Axis of Evil (remember them?) and Russia all have plans for EMP attacks, this generation’s kewl new technique to win the war in one easy step. And also, according to the editorialist, the U.S. has only published an assessment of what it would take to harden the nation’s infrastructure against such an attack, but has done nothing concrete to achieve it.

But 1) given that Pentagon strategists regularly develop plans to invade Canada and Montenegro, what odds that they have not quietly developed several plans for EMP attacks on various countries, and 2) where is the evidence that any other countries have done anything to harden their infrastructure against such an attack?

#11  given that Pentagon strategists regularly develop plans to invade Canada and Montenegro, what odds that they have not quietly developed several plans for EMP attacks on various countries

Just so you know, that long since the 80s, the services have spent a good amount of dollars on making their tactical equipment EMP proof. It's a contributory reasons why some equipment is far more expensive than their civilian counterparts and why some things are not bought off the shelf.

There was a EMP testing rig in New Mexico with a huge wooden platform and a cloud of wiring above to generate a pulse. How big a platform, at least large enough to accommodate a 747.
Posted by: Procopius2k || 07/05/2021 13:59 Comments || Top||

#12  Note: you can bulid a simple small emp proof container using a small all metal trash can, 2x cans of flex seal, a cooper car jumper cable and cooper ground rod....plus some extras for under
$100. That hold 2 laptops, a bag flash drives, a 400watt fold up solar panel and 5amp 12vdc litium battery..etc.. It fact there several youtube videos and back-channel plans you can google. But to what avail?

#13  (Very carefully considers his comments.)

...A dear friend and mentor who was a strategic analyst (lost him last Christmas to the goddamned COVID) was once asked about imminent threats like EMP and smuggled-in bombs, which would be 'so easy to use and utterly defeat us.'

I've never forgotten his answer. He just contemplated his reply for a moment and then said, "If it's so easy to do, is so decisive, and can create so much damage...why hasn't it already been done?"

I'm starting to wonder if this is just bad shooting (certainly some of it) or whether it is a sign of a 'criminal' justice system. In normal places, if you have a beef with someone, you can take it to court. But if Deshawn burned you on that last eighth, you can't call the cops so you shoot him in the butt and bump up the score on the Shot-in-the-Ass-O-Meter. (currently 81 ytd)

July 4 mayhem descends on Washington Square Park as NYPD cops in riot gear enforce midnight curfew and kick ravers out
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • NYPD officers were forced to remove rowdy revelers from Washington Square Park as they spoiled what was mostly festive July 4th celebrations in New York City

  • For the second time over the holiday weekend, NYPD descended in force on the iconic Manhattan park as they attempted to squash another all-night rave

  • Officers could be seen lined up underneath the arch at the park's north side off Fifth Ave ahead of the midnight curfew

  • As the curfew approached, people reported hearing police sound a siren before officers moved into the park and forcibly moved the large crowd gathered there out of the area

Afghanistan
China to fill the Vacuum in Afghanistan with US Departure?
[Town Hall] Afghanistan has always been in the “too hard” box. However, China is succeeding where others have failed, and to our distinct strategic disadvantage.

China has been rather quietly to the western observer, positive and potentially lucrative and strategically advantageous relationships with the Afghans for years. What is China seeking and how are they working to achieve their goals?

China’s aims are nearly parallel and complementary. China allied with Pakistan, never a loyal ally of the US, wants the abandoned southern bases vacated by the Americans as well as access to Indian Ocean warm water ports in Pakistan. With the US leaving particularly Bagram Air Field as well Kabul International and Kandahar Air Field, the nearest US air support facility devolves to 1,300 miles distant Qatar or a carrier group in the Indian Ocean or Persian Gulf. The US is then militarily far removed from the China mainland and the quickly evolving and changing Indian sub-continent.

Afghan mineral wealth is vast, considerable, strategic and a long-standing goal of China. As with most of the involvement of the US in Afghanistan, American citizens, as well as our politicians, diplomats and most of or military leadership have ignored what China is now on the cusp of controlling. China is also negotiating and expanding the infrastructure necessary for transport of resources and military hegemony by development of the Belt Road Initiative and related road, rail and air initiatives across central Asia.

Why were all these natural resources heretofore ignored by the US? They were not. The Washington, D.C. establishment as well as we troops on the ground knew well of these specified and partially explored riches. Efforts were made by previous US administrations to work with the Kabul government for the mutual benefit of both the Afghans and the US. The issue was, as it continues to be in Iraq, securing the production sites and transportation capability to mine, refine and transport these riches. The security situation was simply too difficult to permit exploitation of the resources.

How is China succeeding where others have failed in this endeavor? First, with the departure of the US and NATO forces a major impediment to China’s operation in Afghanistan is not only eliminated, but the ability of China to operate in and transport plunder from Afghanistan is greatly enhanced. Second, China is cagey sufficiently to better and more accepting than were US officials to understand the tribal warlord nature of the significantly decentralized governance of Afghanistan that is tribal, local and controlled by dictatorial warlords who can be optioned and bought off by cunning and ruthless Chinese methods. Remember, the Chinese are the decedents of the most successful conquers of Afghanistan who ruled this land for 500 years by use of the horrendously aggressive and brutal methods.

I have walked the ground of the city Balkh, northwest of Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan where Genghis Kahn and his sons in 1220, brutally murdered the entire population of over one-million souls and absolutely leveled the city. The Chinese will do whatever is needed to bribe, steal or eliminate any Afghans who stand in the way of their agenda.

With the US leaving, the Taliban and their allies, Al Qaida, are in ascendency and gaining ever more control of Afghan territory. As a result of this resurgence, the disrespected, largely incompetent, and highly corrupt central Afghan government largely only in partial control of Kabul, leaves Afghanistan ripe for piece-meal conquest by bribes, intimidation or force by the well-organized and single-minded Chinese.

Look for Pakistan to whine about being cut out as a negotiators for the Shura, when this happens. They will likely make a hue and cry and instigate those brilliant men in Langley to oppose China's business with the new emirs. And Langley will hop to it. Whoever's in the WH then will be appeasing Pakistain by fighting with China in Afghanistan, and the excuse given to Americans will be : We are containing China now, didn't you want just that?

LIVE NOT BY LIES: A Warning to America – Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's Words Ring True This Independence Day More than Ever
[GatewayPundit] On February 12, 1974, the great Soviet dissident and scholar Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn released his famous essay “Live Not By Lies.” The next day he was arrested by the Marxist regime and exiled to the West.

In his famous essay Solzhenitsyn urged the Russian people to stand up to the lie. Do not let the lie consume you. Today in America, on this 4th of July we are a people who are drowning in lies from our elites. They continue each day to gaslight the American public with their more and more ridiculous statements:
– Republicans want to defund the police,
– Joe Biden is mentally stable,
– Black Lives Matter riots are mostly peaceful
– Hydroxychloroquine is not effective in treating COVID,
– Joe Biden won the election.

French scientists write letter calling for investigation into COVID-19 origins
[HOT AIR] A group of 31 scientists signed a letter calling for further investigation into the origin of COVID-19. The letter was published Monday in the French newspaper Le Figaro. The letter is behind a paywall there but there’s an English summary of what it says at this site:
The new letter reads: "We ask for a new scientific enquiry into all the plausible origin hypothesis, which has unlimited access to all the pertinent files, samples and staff in China, and elsewhere if necessary.

"All people and all nations, including China, have a direct interest in the origin of the pandemic being identified so that our biggest vulnerabilities are protected. It is therefore particularly regrettable that no exhaustive inquiry on all the plausible origins has been undertaken, and that none is planned.

"We believe that the joint study process that the WHO is currently calling for, in its current form, does not satisfy the conditions to be credible due to serious structural gaps."...

It continues: "The measures taken by the Chinese government to hide the origins, and stop Chinese experts from sharing certain essential information and detailed data clearly show that the current process, without significant changes, has no chance of putting a complete or credible inquiry in place for all possible scenarios."
That last line about "all possible scenarios" is pretty clearly a reference to the lab leak theory, i.e. the scenario that China absolutely has no desire to investigate.

The letter suggests there are two options for moving forward. Option one is for the Chinese government to cooperate in a thorough investigation with outside researches given full access to all of the data and samples they need. The letter suggests the CCP should be willing to do this for "the good of humanity."

Obviously option one isn’t going to happen because if the Chinese were interested in being transparent they could have done that over the past 18 months (or sooner). The fact that they were still stalling the WHO team just a few months ago is a pretty clear indication they don’t want an unfiltered look at the evidence.

Option two assumes that option one was a bust. It suggests that the G7 or OECD nations team up to share whatever information they have and gather more information without the help of the CCP. "A well-organised and concerted effort, free of interference, drawing on all available sources of information and involving a large number of experts, may well end up providing unambiguous evidence supporting one particular hypothesis regarding the origins of the pandemic," the letter states.

Assisted Suicide Group Teams Up With Planned Parenthood Honcho
[Free Beacon] America's leading physician-assisted suicide advocacy group has tapped a Planned Parenthood of Illinois board member to help lead the organization.

Compassion & Choices named Jill Gordon, CEO of children's hair salon company KidSnips, to its board of directors on Thursday. Gordon has donated tens of thousands of dollars to both Planned Parenthood and Compassion & Choices through her foundation, the Jill and Bradford Gordon Family Foundation. Gordon told the Washington Free Beacon the issue of assisted suicide is "close to my heart."

"Baby boomers like me are leading the end-of-life care movement because we have challenged the status quo our entire lives," Gordon said.

Rachel MacNair, vice president at the Consistent Life Network, said she is not surprised that a prominent abortion supporter would also become a cheerleader for assisted suicide.

"The connection between killing at both ends of the lifespan has been one that both pro-life and pro-choice advocates have held for a long time," MacNair told the Free Beacon. "For pro-lifers, of course, it's social approval of killing either way and done on similar reasoning. For pro-choicers, it's choice and bodily autonomy either way and done on similar reasoning."

Kim Callinan, president and CEO of Compassion & Choices, told the Free Beacon she added Gordon to the board based on her wide-ranging professional success.

"Compassion & Choices appointed Jill because of her leadership experience as a CEO, an entrepreneur, and nonprofit board member across multiple organizations, not because of her work on a particular issue," Callinan said. "Jill’s past experience with governance, stewardship, and fidelity will help ensure that Compassion & Choices continues our commitment to ensuring that patients have access to the full range of end-of-life care options from pain management to hospice care to medical aid in dying."

KidSnips, Gordon’s company, is the largest provider of children’s haircuts in the Chicago metropolitan area, according to a Compassion & Choices press release. Gordon’s foundation has donated nearly $120,000 to Planned Parenthood affiliated organizations since 2014 and more than $74,000 to Compassion & Choices since 2013, according to Grantmakers.io.

Illinois, where Gordon’s company is based, has some of the most lenient abortion restrictions in the country. Democratic governor J.B. Pritzker signed the Reproductive Health Act in 2019, which repealed a state ban on partial-birth abortion—in which doctors artificially deliver unborn children before terminating them. The practice is already illegal under federal law, but the line around the partial-birth abortion ban has been blurred in the past. Kermit Gosnell, a former abortion doctor in Pennsylvania, was convicted on three counts of first-degree murder for using scissors to snip the spinal cord of fully delivered babies—a practice that went undetected for decades.

Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, told the Free Beacon he sees a clear relationship between abortion and physician-assisted suicide and believes in the importance of protecting human life from conception to natural death.

Funder of Wuhan lab Peter Daszak refuses House request for docs as Democrats fail to subpoena
[Just The News] A major conduit of federal research funding to the Chinese coronavirus lab at the center of ongoing speculation over the origins of the SARS-Cov-2 virus is not complying with a months-old request from House Republicans for documentation related to his work with that lab, while Democrats in the House have failed to issue a subpoena to compel that evidence.

Peter Daszak, the president of the U.S. nonprofit EcoHealth Alliance, has been the subject of growing scrutiny over the last several months regarding his role in the funding of the Wuhan Institute of Virology. For several years leading up to the pandemic, EcoHealth Alliance funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal research grants to the WIV for the study of potential pandemic coronaviruses at the Wuhan lab.

As government investigators and journalists dig to uncover the full scope of Daszak's links to the WIV, Daszak is continuing to spurn a congressional request for that information.

In April, Republicans on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce sent Daszak a letter directing him to submit, among many other documents, "all letters, emails, and other communications between [EcoHealth] and [the WIV] related to terms of agreements, bat coronaviruses, genome or genetic sequencing, SARS-CoV-2, and/or laboratory safety practices" pursuant to key NIH research funding through EcoHealth to the Wuhan lab as a grant sub-recipient.

Yet Daszak himself has not cooperated with the request. An aide with the Energy and Commerce Committee confirmed to Just the News this week that the committee has "received no response still from EcoHealth Alliance and Peter Daszak to the April 16th letter from Leaders Rodgers, Guthrie, and Griffith."

Washington GOP Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers has also publicly noted Daszak's refusal to cooperate with the request made roughly two and a half months ago.

Home Front: Politix
Rep. James Clyburn outright lies about Voter I.D. or is he just that stupid ?
[American Thinker] Rep. James Clyburn (D. S.C.) is the reason Joe Biden is president. It was he who convinced South Carolina’s Black Democrat voters to throw their weight behind Biden, not Bernie, in that state’s Democrat primary, killing Bernie’s momentum. Now, Clyburn, who is the majority whip in the House, is trying to convince all Americans that a voter registration card is "I.D." Isn’t it bad enough that he already saddled us with something awful in the White House?

The centerpiece of the Democrats’ grossly misnamed "For The People" Act was that it would do away with photo I.D. requirements to vote because, Democrats’ claim, they’re racist. As far as Democrats are concerned, while Blacks and other non-Whites are capable of getting photo ID for flying, attending Democrat conventions, buying alcohol, and generally living life in the modern world, these same minorities cannot get photo I.D. to vote.

In this regard, of course, America is out of step with the rest of the world. For example, every country in continental Europe requires photo I.D. to vote. Mexico, too, requires photo I.D. to vote. In Africa, a continent with a fragile infrastructure that makes photo I.D. truly difficult to obtain, the current trend (more than 60% of countries) is to digitize people’s identities to improve election integrity. And yet Democrats assure us that American Blacks just can’t get that I.D.

The problem for Democrats is that, even as they denigrate minorities’ ability to get photo identification, most Americans think that photo I.D. is a good idea for election integrity. In April, 75% of U.S. voters gave a photo I.D. a thumbs up, with 73% of Blacks saying yes and 81% of other non-White voters saying yes. By June, the overall percentage of Americans supporting voter I.D. had soared to 80%.

Clyburn may have political values that I deeply oppose, but he’s no fool. If voters want I.D. for elections, he’s willing to lie and prevaricate to make them think that he, too, wants such I.D. On July 4, he appeared on CNN with Dana Bash, who still dreams that the "For the People" Act can be resurrected. However, she recognizes that the Supreme Court’s decision in Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee, supporting Arizona’s new voting laws, puts the Court’s imprimatur on those states requiring voters to show photographic identification. Clyburn, seeing which way the wind is blowing, suddenly enthusiastically endorsed I.D. laws. Pay attention to what he says, though, because every word is a lie:

administration on Sunday banned the use and possession of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles in Srinagar, a week after two Indian Air Force personnel were maimed in twin drone attack.

In an order, deputy commissioner of Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz directed those having drone cameras or other similar kinds of unmanned aerial vehicles to deposit them in local cop shoppes.

The order, however, exempted government departments using drones for mapping, surveys and surveillance in agricultural, environmental conservation and disaster mitigation sectors but directed them to inform the local cop shoppe before using them.

The administration cautioned that any violation of the guidelines will attract punitive action, and directed police to implement the restrictions in letter and spirit.

The order to ban the use of drones came after the recommendations of the city''s police chief.

IAF base attack: Why the role of Pakistan state players cannot be ruled out
[OneIndia] While the probe into the drone attack at the Indian Air Force base points to the role of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba the role of Pakistain state players is not being ruled out.

Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, Dilbagh Singh said that there is a strong suspicion that the Lashkar-e-Tayiba was behind the incident, but the involvement of Pakistain state agencies cannot be ruled. He said that this is because an IED attack had been planned by the Lashkar-e-Tayiba at a crowded place in Jammu the same evening. Since the Lashkar is run from Pakistain, in a way Pakistain's involvement cannot be ruled out, Singh also said. The question however is to what extent are the Pakistain agencies involved, he also said.

He said that the IED was sent by the LeT in a similar fashion from Pakistain and it was to be planted at some crowded place so that there was the largest possible casualties in the attack. Luckily we had information and were able to intercept and capture the operative who gave certain leads on the basis of which we recovered the IED and the terror attack was averted he also said.

Investigators that OneIndia spoke with too agreed with the DGP's analysis and said that the presence of highly sophisticated material used in the IAF base strike clearly indicated the role played by the Pakistain agencies.

Two bombs weighing over 2 kilograms each were dropped from a height of 150 meters and were activated by impact charge. It is however unclear where the drone could have originated from, but the initial findings found that it could have been from the Indian side itself. The agencies also do not rule out the possibility of the the drone emerging from the Pakistain side close to the border.

New details reveal massive scale of Kaseya ransomware attack
[IsraelTimes] CEO says thousands of mostly smaller businesses hit by likely Russian hackers, who are demanding sums between $45,000 and $5 million to unscramble data, according to expert.

Kaseya said it sent a detection tool to nearly 900 customers on Saturday night.
Cybersecurity teams worked feverishly Sunday to stem the impact of the single biggest global ransomware attack on record, with some details emerging about how the Russia-linked gang responsible breached the company whose software was the conduit.

An affiliate of the notorious REvil gang, best known for extorting $11 million from the meat-processor JBS after a Memorial Day attack, infected thousands of victims in at least 17 countries on Friday, largely through firms that remotely manage IT infrastructure for multiple customers, cybersecurity researchers said. They reported ransom demands of up to $5 million.

Experts reportedly see major damage in attack on Iran centrifuge plant
[IsraelTimes] Public broadcaster says head of international think tank tracking Iran’s nuclear program and others believe equipment at Karaj facility was completely destroyed or disabled.

Experts believe an attack on a facility producing centrifuge parts for Iran’s nuclear program caused extensive damage, destroying or disabling all equipment at part of the site, according to an Israeli report Sunday.

Tehran has maintained that the apparent drone assault on the Karaj factory was thwarted and no damage caused, but satellite photos published by private Israeli intelligence group The Intel Lab Saturday seemingly cast doubt on those claims, showing a large hole in the roof of one building previously identified as a bellows manufacturing plant.

The photos also purportedly showed evidence of a large fire.

According to the Kan public broadcaster, experts who saw the photos concluded that "all equipment in the area had been destroyed completely or rendered inoperable." It said the experts had made the assessments based on the satellite photos, which were taken July 1.

The station only named one expert it was relying on, David Albright, who heads the Institute for Science and International Security, a non-governmental organization which has attempted to track and expose illicit aspects of Iran’s nuclear program.

According to the report, Albright and other experts say that the Iranians have already begun attempting to repair the damage from the June 23 strike at the Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
Centrifuge Technology Company, or TESA, near the city of Karaj, northwest of Tehran.

A tweet from The Intel Lab on Saturday claimed that the roof had largely been dismantled by Iran as part of rehabilitation activities following the attack. The dismantled roof allowed analysts to peek inside the building, where dark coloration indicated the presence of a large fire inside the building, the smallest of three main structures at the site.

According to a New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

report last month, the TESA factory was tasked with replacing damaged centrifuges at the Natanz nuclear site, a previous target of apparent sabotage, and also produces more advanced centrifuges that can more quickly enrich uranium.

In 2011, members of the National Council of Resistance® in Iran opposition group published photos of the Karaj site claiming that it was being used for the clandestine production of centrifuge parts.

"The various parts that are manufactured in this site include casing, magnets, molecular pumps, composite tubes, Bellows, and centrifuge bases. These are essentially the parts used for the production of IR-1 type centrifuges. But there are also parts related to more advanced centrifuges that are also produced at this site."

[LIBYAREVIEW] Satellite photos from Maxar Technologies show the site of the earth-shattering kaboom in the Abu Rashada detention centre in Gharyan. The Libyan government detains migrants colonists in the vicinity of this ammunition depot.

The migrants colonists brought back to Libya had arrived in the centre a few days earlier and were crammed into dilapidated rooms.

About 600 migrants colonists are detained a few steps from the site of the earth-shattering kaboom. Local United Nations officials told Editoriale Domani that an ammunition depot is a few meters from the prison where migrants colonists intercepted in the Mediterranean are brought back to.

"I’m afraid there are dozens of dead. The militia that controls the centre has a weapons depot and its men are involved in fuel trafficking in the desert," said an official from the Libyan Interior Ministry’s Department for Combating Migration (DCIM).

Ex-Al-Shabaab deputy leader goes on hunger strike in Mogadishu
[Garowe] Mukhtar Robow, the former al-Shabaab
...... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
deputy leader entered his fourth day of hunger strike in Mogadishu on Sunday, in what could spark fresh debate over his continued stay under house arrest, over two years since his arrest at Baidoa, the regional administrative capital of Southwest.

A government source told Garowe Online that the former al-Shabaab leader refused to take food and that "he has now entered the fourth day". Robow was first arrested in December 2018 during final campaigns for Southwest presidential state elections.

Robow, the source noted, was decrying "his continued detention without justification by the federal government", adding that "authorities have remained silent over the latest matter which could trigger another round of protests in the country".

Further, the source said, "he has severally asked authorities to release him without success and believes that hunger strike is the last solution to his predicaments". Under international laws, a prisoner should have his or her rights safeguarded, including access to goods, water, and family.

Robow decamped from the al-Shabaab and was received by the government after he differed with Ahmed Omar [Abu Ubaidah], the current al-Shabaab leader over irreconcilable differences.

After that, he joined politics in his native Southwest, something which wasn't received well by authorities in Mogadishu since he was on the brink to become the leader of the Southwest state.

And to tame him, government troops and those from the Æthiopia National Defense Forces [ENDF] stormed his campaigns in the Southwest and arrested him, leading to chaos in the state. Over 11 people were killed in the deadly chaos.

Without pressing charges on him, the government has continued to hold him in a house controlled by the National Intelligence Security Agency [NISA], which is often accused of violation of human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
, torture, deaths, and disappearance of critics.

Sources privy to his arrest insist that he was overwhelmed and subsequently arrested after it emerged that he was the clear favorite to win the Southwest presidency. Outgoing President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmajo was keen to control all states.

The use of Æthiopian troops raised eyebrows, with Somalia's opposition bigwigs accusing the AMISOM team of interfering with Somalia's internal affairs. In fact, the Æthiopian troops who arrested him are believed to be a non-Amisom contingent.

The use of or collaboration of foreign troops is not strange in Somalia. Recently, it was reported that thousands of young Somali troops are training in Eritrea
...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age...
and there is a possibility that they participated in the alleged Tigray genocide, which left thousands dead.

But despite these serious allegations, the government has fairly remained silent, leading to speculations from stakeholders. A committee appointed by Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble is also yet to table its findings over the matter.

A number of people have defected from al-Shabaab due to financial constraints, change of philosophy, or persuasion from the government. Defectors have usually repatriated the society and are given preferential treatment.

[LIBYAREVIEW] Eyewitnesses said that armed men belonging to the militia of Muhammad Bahrun, commonly known as Al-Far “The Mouse”, stormed the university campus in Al-Ajaylat and kidnapped a student from the Faculty of Arts building.

Witnesses told Akhbar Libya 24 News that the militia members opened fire indiscriminately, and then kidnapped a student, AbdelMalik Al-Sayeh.

Notably, armed clashes erupted between Al-Zawiya and Al-Ajaylat militias on June 26th, in the city of Al-Ajaylat, resulting in the death of a high school student.

Last month, armed clashes erupted between Al-Far militia and Shalfouh groups in Al-Ajaylat city, 80km of the capital Tripoli, western Libya. The clash continued for hours and medium and heavy weapons are said to have been used. It was confirmed that at least 7 people were killed.

The Presidential Council has threatened to pursue the armed militias in Tripoli and hold them accountable for the deadly clashes that erupted in Al-Ajaylat. Abdullah Al-Lafi stressed the need to stop all such armed clashes immediately, explaining that those who had caused harm to civilians and sabotaged public and private properties will be brought to justice.

Nigerian Govt Concerned About New Threats to Bomb Oil Assets
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed concern about new threats by the hard boy group the Niger Delta Avengers to bomb critical oil and gas infrastructure in the country.

The group announced that they were planning to sabotage Nigeria's economy by attacking oil installation in the Niger Delta. The group also threatened to attack politicians "collaborating" with the Nigerian government to "undermine" the interests of the region.

Presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina said that the threats were "unnecessary and uncalled for" as President Muhammadu Buhari had since engaged the leadership of the Niger Delta and Ijaw National Congress, on how best to address the demands made by the group.

The Niger Delta Avengers were responsible for most of the attacks on oil and gas facilities in 2016, resulting in the nation losing about half its oil production. The group suspended attacks in 2017 following interventions by regional leaders and pledges by the government to address development challenges facing the area.

US military base fired upon in Syria
Direct translation via Google Translate. Edit.
[REGNUM] In Syria, unknown persons fired at a US military base. This was announced on July 4 by the Al Arabiya TV channel, citing its sources.

According to the latest data, a total of two rockets were fired at a military facility located in the area of the Al-Omar oil field in the northeastern province of Deir ez-Zor.

So far, nothing is known about the results of the rocket attack.

As reported by IA REGNUM , on June 29, the head of the White House, Joe Biden, said that the United States was ready to repeat airstrikes similar to those that had previously been inflicted on the border region of Iraq and Syria, if necessary.

According to Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
Despite the fact that the United States rejects the fact of the shelling (stating that it was they who destroyed the ISIS explosives near the base and the explosion occurred due to the accidental ignition of a temporary warehouse with explosives),

Syrian, pro-Iranian (they write about 9 missiles fired of which up to base flew 2) Turkish and Kurdish sources confirm the attack (including official SDF sources).

It is reported that there were no casualties as a result of the shelling (SDF claims that 2 unguided rockets flew into the target - most likely either 107mm or 122mm), but some material damage was caused. Just like the last time.

US sez, "What rocket attack? LOL"
[REGNUM] On July 5, Colonel Wayne Marotto , an official representative of the US-led international anti-terrorist coalition, denied information about the missile attack on the American armed forces in Syria on his Twitter.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan says India was behind June bomb blast in Lahore
[AlAhram] Pakistain's national security advisor has accused India of orchestrating last month's deadly boom-mobileing in the eastern city of Lahore.

Pakistain's national security advisor has accused India of orchestrating last month's deadly boom-mobileing in the eastern city of Lahore, saying Sunday that an investigation has shown it was organized by an Indian intelligence operative.

In a news conference in Islamabad, Moeed Yousuf said the probe showed that the man was an Indian citizen living in India who works for that country's RAW
... India's Research and Analysis Wing, Pakistain's equivalent of the Boogie Man...
intelligence agency. He did not name the alleged criminal mastermind.

``Through the forensic analysis, electronic equipment, which has been recovered from these terrorists, we have identified the main criminal mastermind and the handlers of this terrorist attack. And we have no doubt in informing you that the main criminal mastermind belongs to RAW, lives in India and is an Indian citizen.'' He said Pakistain will continue its efforts to expose India's sponsorship of such attacks internationally.

The explosion took place outside the residence of anti-India bully boy leader Hafiz Saeed
...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat. He is periodically placed under house arrest so it looks like the govt is doing something. Once the heat is off they let him go....
, who himself has been designated a terrorist by the U.S. Justice Department and has a $10 million bounty on his head. India accuses Saeed of helping criminal mastermind the deadly 2008 attacks in Mumbai that killed nearly 170 people at several occasions including the luxury Taj Hotel. He was unharmed in the powerful explosion in Lahore's Johar Town neighborhood that killed three and maimed 24.

India and Pakistain routinely accuse the other of carrying out clandestine attacks on the other's territory. Saeed is a highly wanted suspect in India, and Pakistain has been criticized by India and the United States for not taking stronger actions against him.

Punjab police chief Inam Ghani said all those involved in the bombing have been arrested, including an Afghan who lived in Pakistain and actually parked the explosives-laden car at the site of blast.

Indian External Affairs Ministry front man Arindam Bagchi couldn't be reached for comment.
Update from One India at 1:0 a.m. ET:
Sources tell OneIndia that the allegations are baseless. Pakistain is trying to make out a case that it is a victim after the Financial Action Task Force decided to keep it on the grey list after Islamabad failed to act against terror funding. Pakistain is also making these false allegations against the R&AW in the wake of drone sightings in India, which clearly have a Pakistain link to it. With India trying to get the political process rolling further in Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, Islamabad is doing all it can to stall the same and hence these allegations too are being hurled the source cited above also said.

Afghanistan
Dozens of Ghor Women Take Up Arms in Support of ANDSF
[ToloNews] Dozens of women took up arms — some of them heavy weapons — and marched in the capital city of Feroz Koh to pledge their support the Republic and the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.

The women said that the historical record of the five years of the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
regime proved that the group violates women’s rights.

Thousands of people have taken up arms in support of the Afghan forces as the fall of districts to the group continues.

"They are standing by their brothers and are supporting the system, the people, and the country’s illusory sovereignty," a Ghor resident said.

The exact number of those who have taken up arms against the Taliban is so far not clear. The defense and interior ministries said that these forces will eventually be combined with the local police, NDS local forces, and the local army forces.

"A situation that will later create bad consequences will not be allowed. They will first support us and then they will be included in the police, army or the local NDS forces," the acting minister of interior Gen. Abdul Sattar Mirzakwal said.

Atta Mohammad Noor, who leads a public mobilization movement in Balkh and has gone to Balkh districts to fight the Taliban, criticized some government officials for not cooperating with them in their campaign against the group.

"We hear some words from some sides asking why have they gone to the war? They should stay in the city and hand over the war to us. My brother, you are losing the war," Noor said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, Bossy had come up with a new idea, one that didn't involve kerosene...
the office of Ahmad Massoud, a public figure and son of the national hero Ahmad Shah Massoud, said that former mujahideen leaders are making efforts to reorganize a new front against the Taliban by consulting politicians from the former resistance front.

"We hope that this front is announced and the public uprising forces become organized," said Saleh Mohammad Registani, a member of Ahmad Massoud’s political office.

There are questions about the achievements of the public uprising forces, but representatives of these forces said they have succeeded in preventing the fall of their towns to the Taliban.

"They have proved effective in defending the security belts on the outskirts of Kunduz city," said Rabbani Rabbani, a member of the Kunduz provincial council.

"So far, we have not seen proper support by the government for the people," said Abdul Basir Osmani, an MP from Badghis.

Eight Turkish mercenaries killed, tank destroyed in SDF retaliatory operations
[Rudaw] Eight Ottoman Turkish mercenaries were killed and one tank was destroyed in retaliatory operations by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) against Ottoman Turkish forces in Gire Spi (Tel Abyad) between June 21 and July 1, the SDF said on Sunday.

"Within the framework of the legitimate right of defense, our fighters confronted the attacks of the Ottoman Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and carried out a series of retaliatory operations," the SDF said in a statement. "As a result ... eight mercenaries were killed, two thermal cameras given for surveillance, two trenches were destroyed, and two military vehicles and a tank were destroyed."

According to the statement, the operations were carried out in retaliation against The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
and its mercenaries carrying out a series of attacks on a number of villages in Gire Spi, the M4 road, and Ain Issa town in the same period.

With the support of Syrian proxies, Turkey has conducted three military campaigns in northern Syria in the past several years, and now controls Afrin, areas north of Aleppo, and pockets of territory in the northeast.

Hundreds of thousands of people were displaced in Operation Peace Spring in October 2019, which saw Turkey control a stretch of land from Sari Kani (Ras al-Ain) to Gire Spi.

Russia — the main backer of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Terror of Aleppo ...
- has acted as guarantor of the indirect ceasefire between Turkey and the SDF since 2019. The US has also played a similar role. Both forces have conducted joint patrols with Ottoman Turkish forces on the border since the Ottoman Turkish invasion.

Iraq
Almost 300 IDPs leave Mosul camp
[Rudaw] The Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced on Sunday the return of 296 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from a camp near djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
to their areas of origin in Nineveh.

Senior ministry official Ali Abbas Jahakir said that the IDPs returned from Khazer camp, east of Mosul, to various areas across the province.

"The returned families have been checked in coordination with the security forces and local governments," Jahakir said.

Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Paliament, Hassan al-Kaabi, met on Sunday with officials from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), calling for "solid laws" to tackle displacement, and an international conference to raise awareness of displacement in Iraq.

In June, almost 200 families in al-Jada camp returned to their homes in Mosul and Salahaddin.

Al-Jada, in Nineveh province, is one of just two camps still open in areas under federal Iraqi control. The camp mainly houses families with suspected links to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group (ISIS), and received ISIS-affiliated families from al-Hol camp in Syria late in May.

Last year, the Iraqi government began a push to close 17 camps around the country, three years after the defeat of ISIS, including in the Kurdistan Region. The government has been criticized for this policy. Rights monitors say returns must be voluntary.

Many displaced Iraqis are reluctant to return home because of continuing violence in their home areas, a lack of reconstruction, and little in the way of basic services. Some who voluntarily left the camps to salvage their homes and livelihoods have been forced to return to the camps, unable to piece together the basics.

Target, Walgreens close early due to thefts in California stores
[FoxBusiness] Target and Walgreens are heightening security efforts in major cities across Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, amid increased theft and crime, new reports suggest.

Los Angeles, the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
and Sacramento are among the cities with the most organized retail crime in the country, according to the California Retailer's Association. As a result, stores have been closing early or permanently shuttering.

Target stores in San Francisco are now closing early, moving from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a Financial District store closing as early as 5p.m. on Saturday, according to hours listed on its website. Most stores open between 7 and 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Target told KPIX5 the decision to adjust its store hours in San Francisco was related to theft with a spokesperson confirming: "For more than a month, we’ve been experiencing a significant and alarming rise in theft and security incidents at our San Francisco stores, similar to reports from other retailers in the area.

"Target is engaging local law enforcement, elected officials and community partners to address our concerns. With the safety of our guests, team members and communities as our top priority, we've temporarily reduced our operating hours in six San Francisco stores."

Operators in the grocery and retail industries have also raised concerns about harsher penalties for theft. A video surfaced from earlier this month showing a man stealing items in a San Francisco Walgreens and leaving the store on his bike with the goods as security guards and onlookers filmed the incident.

"This has been a problem going on for years. We have been diligently trying to find solutions to this, including pending legislation to continue funding for the Organized Retail Task Force. We are trying to attack it from all different ways. Our priority is the safety of our employees and consumers. We can’t have our security guards going after this — they are not law enforcement," CRA President and CEO Rachel Michelin said in a statement.

Cori Bush claims Black Americans aren't free
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] On the Fourth of July, while Americans celebrate their independence, "Squad" member and Congresswoman Cori Bush
...a member of the progressive Squad. Born in St. Louis, Bush represents Missouri's 1st congressional district that includes all of the city of St. Louis and a large part of northern St. Louis County. Cori sez America is Racist AF...
claimed on Twitter that black Americans are not free.

"When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they're referring to is for white people," wrote Bush.
She's new to the squad. To catch up, she's gotta say a LOT of stupid things in a short period of time
"This land is stolen land and Black people still aren't free," she added.

While yes, the original Independence Day may not have freed black slaves back in 1776, the United States of America in 2021 is a country where Americans, regardless of color, are free to live their lives as they choose.

Black Americans, like Bush, are free to serve in the government. Former President Barrack Obama served as the commander-in-chief for eight years. 57 of the 435 House Representatives are black.

Her comment fails to take into consideration that if black people in America truly were not free, why would black people around the world immigrate to the Untied States?

According to the Migration Policy Institute, 10 percent of those who immigrated to the US in 2019 were black.

Twitter users were quick to point out these inconvenient facts to Bush.

Only in America could a wealthy black sitting congresswoman lack this much self awareness and be applauded for it.

Afghanistan
Taliban Increases Pressure on Zherai District in Kandahar, 2 kaboomed in gov’s Kandahar city compound
[ToloNews] The Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
increased their pressure on Zherai district in Kandahar after taking control of the strategic district of Panjwai on Saturday, raising concerns in Kandahar city.

Panjwai fell to the Taliban after being under siege for a week. Local officials said that hundreds of families have been displaced due to the conflicts in Zherai and Panjwai districts.

"We have left everything at our homes. We have come here (to the city of Kandahar) with our family members only," said Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Kandahar.

"No one is paying attention to the people--neither the Taliban nor the government. We don’t know who we should take our complaints to," said Ahmad Shah, a resident of Kandahar.

The provincial council of Kandahar said they are concerned about an increase in the Taliban’s influence in the southern province.

The province of Kandahar is the birthplace of the Taliban, who went on to rule Afghanistan with a harsh version of Islamic sharia law until being overthrown by a US-led invasion in 2001.
"Anyone who has been killed or maimed in the festivities is Afghan," said Sayed Jan Khakrizwal, head of the Kandahar provincial council.

The security situation in the city of Qalat, in Zabul, which shares a border with Kandahar, is raising fears among locals; however, security forces said Taliban attacks have been pushed back in the province.

"They attacked some outposts on the outskirts of Qalat city, but they were responded to quickly and 25 of the enemy was killed and 21 more were maimed. The enemy also wanted to conduct a suicide car kaboom on one of our facilities, but it was also thwarted. We assure you that Zabul will not face any problems," said Sayed Baba Mansoori, the commander of the second regiment of 205 Atal Corps.

So far, six districts in Kandahar have fallen to the Taliban. Maroof, Maiwand, Arghistan have fallen in recent days.

Magnetic Mine Blast in Kandahar Governor's Compound Kills 2
[ToloNews] The secretary of Kandahar's governor and a security guard were killed, and another security guard was wounded, in a magnetic IED blast that occurred in a parking area in the governor's compound in Kandahar city on Sunday afternoon, local security sources confirmed.

The blast took place about 2:15 pm local time in Kandahar city as Mansour Ahmad, the secretary of Kandahar's governor, entered the parking area in his vehicle, the sources said.

“Mansour and a security guard were killed in the blast and another security guard was wounded,” said the sources.

However, no group including the Taliban has immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
Al Ahram adds:
The Taliban have captured a key district in their former bastion of Kandahar after fierce night-time fighting with Afghan government forces, officials said Sunday, the latest area to be seized since US troops began their final withdrawal.

The insurgents have pressed on with their campaign to capture territory across Afghanistan's rural areas since early May when the US military began the pullout.

The fall of Panjwai district in the southern province of Kandahar comes just two days after US and NATO forces vacated their main Bagram Air Base near Kabul, from where they led operations for two decades against the Taliban and their Al-Qaeda allies.

Over the years, the Taliban and Afghan forces have regularly clashed in and around Panjwai, with the insurgents aiming to seize it given its proximity to Kandahar city, the provincial capital.

The province of Kandahar is the birthplace of the Taliban, who went on to rule Afghanistan with a harsh version of Islamic sharia law until being overthrown by a US-led invasion in 2001.

Panjwai district governor Hasti Mohammad said Afghan forces and the Taliban clashed during the night, resulting in government forces retreating from the area.

"The Taliban have captured the district police headquarters and governor's office building," he told AFP.

Kandahar provincial council head Sayed Jan Khakriwal confirmed the fall of Panjwai, but accused government forces of "intentionally withdrawing".

Fighting has raged across several provinces of Afghanistan in recent weeks and the Taliban claim to have seized more than 100 out of nearly 400 districts in the country.

Afghan officials dispute the claims but acknowledge that government troops have retreated from some districts. It is difficult to independently verify the situation.

7K Ethiopian Army prisoners marched through Tigray; statement of TPLF ceasefire conditions
Via Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin
Direct translation via Google Translate

Says Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] The disastrous finale of the Ethiopian-Tigray war.

A column of more than 7,000 captive soldiers of the Ethiopian army (a total of 7,521 prisoners are declared - count, by local standards, a whole division), which was driven through the streets of the capital Tigray, recently recaptured from the Ethiopians. In the style of driving captured Germans across Moscow in 1944 and captured Ukrainian Nazis in Donetsk in 2014.

The exile was carried out in response to statements by the Ethiopian Prime Minister that he had ordered an indefinite unilateral ceasefire for humanitarian reasons. Demonstrating thousands of prisoners, the NFOT insists that it has won and the central government simply cannot continue the war for military reasons.

Nevertheless, a grouping of the Ethiopian army of up to 30,000 people is now deployed on the border with Tigray, but apparently there is no political will to continue the war.

Four soldiers were killed when their patrol was ambushed by suspected gunnies in central Mali on Sunday, the army said in a statement

The army said in a statement that the patrol was ambushed near the town of Lere on Sunday morning. "The provisional toll is at four soldiers killed," it said.

The attack comes as La Belle France, which has deployed over 5,000 counter-terrorism soldiers in Mali to help combat krazed killers, said on Friday that it has resumed jointed military operations with Mali after they were suspended following a coup.

Libyan Foreign Minister Promises to Fix Embassies 'Mess'
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Saturday, the Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla al-Mangoush, said that the Ministry, supported by the cabinet, is working to legalize a number of job cadres at the Libyan embassies abroad.

On the official Facebook account of the Hakomitna platform, al-Mangoush pointed out that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity (GNU), had inherited a legacy of division taking place in Libya between two governments.

Al-Manqoush said that the Government of National Accord (GNA) and the GNU sent their diplomatic representatives abroad. This caused problems in terms of some illegal and improper decisions, in addition to the duplication of work and favoritism for working abroad.

The Minister stressed that the Ministry’s general policy is to legalize the number of embassies and to ensure that the standards are sound for those who represent the country abroad.

Al-Manqoush explained that this work requires a great deal of time.

Russian Envoy Shows Opposition to US Plans for Regional Bases
”Nyet.”
[ToloNews] As the US troops are leaving, Russian envoy Zamir Kabulov has said that the United States cannot and should not transform the withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan into the relocation of its military facilities to Central Asia, something that the US is looking into it as an option to provide over-the-horizon support to Afghan forces.

"We have already sent such a signal to Washington at various levels. I hope it will be heard," Kabulov said as quoted by Russian news agency, RIA.

He called on the Afghan government and the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
to establish a coalition government.

Kabulov promised international support in forming an interim government, adding that that "the final decision on the configuration and parameters of the future power structure should be made by Afghans themselves."

The Russian envoy said he expects that a suitable occasion for the start of peace negotiations will come closer to autumn.

"We continue to work together in the format of an expanded ’troika’ with the participation of Russia, the United States, China, and Pakistain," Kabulov said as quoted by RIA. "We do not rule out the convening of its next round in the near future. In addition, we keep in mind the possibility of organizing another meeting of the Moscow format, which, as you know, unites all the countries of the region around Afghanistan, as well as the United States."

The withdrawal of US and coalition forces from Afghanistan has created many concerns about the future of the government and the Afghan forces.

[LIBYAREVIEW] On Sunday, a European organization that operates migrant rescue ships said that more than 132 migrants colonists, including women and kiddies, have been rescued and returned to Libya by the Libyan Coast Guard. In a statement, the Ocean Viking, which is jointly operated by SOS Mediteranee and the medical nonprofit organization, Doctors Without Borders said that it had performed its 4th rescue in 4 days. 132 people were evacuated from an overcrowded wooden boat in high risk of capsizing in the international waters off of the Libyan coast. Among them are 9 women travelling alone, 1 child and 40 unaccompanied minors.

UN agrees to take over distribution of Qatari funds in Gaza — report
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian newspaper says both Israel and Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, okay with move, quotes sources saying funds won’t go through banks controlled by Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
-ruling terror group.

The United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...

...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
i funds in the Gaza Strip, according to a Paleostinian newspaper report Sunday.

Quoting unnamed Paleostinian sources, the al-Quds daily said Israel was on board with the move as long as the flow of the money was monitored to ensure it was not diverted to the Hamas terror group, which rules the Strip and openly seeks Israel’s demise.

Sources close to Hamas were quoted saying the terror group had no objections to such a step as long as the cash is distributed.

Tor Wennesland, the UN’s Middle East peace envoy, held recent meetings in Israel and Qatar during which he reportedly said the world body would agree to divvy out the money from the Gulf emirate.

The funds will be routed through the Paleostinian Monetary Authority in Ramallah, the internationally recognized Paleostinian Authority’s seat of government, and not through banks or post offices controlled by Hamas, according to the Paleostinian sources.

With Israel’s approval, Qatar has in recent years distributed hundreds of millions of dollars in cash to enable Hamas to pay for fuel for Gaza’s power plant, pay civil servants and provide aid to tens of thousands of impoverished families.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
the Qatari payments have not resumed since the 11-day military conflict between the Israeli military and Gaza-based forces of Evil in May, with Israel refusing to allow the money into the Strip until Hamas releases two civilians and two bodies of IDF soldiers that it has been holding captive.

Egypt also opposed restarting the Qatari payments, insisting that a new mechanism be used to transfer them to Gaza so that they do not reach Hamas.

Meanwhile,
...back at the chili cook-off, Chuck and Manuel's rivalry was entering a new and more dangerous phase...
the Walla news site reported Sunday that around 20 tanker trucks carrying fuel were set to enter Gaza through the Kerem Shalom border crossing with Israel. The report said 60 fuel trucks in total were expected to enter the Strip this week with fuel for Gaza’s only power station.

Israel last week allowed Qatar-funded gasoline shipments into Gaza for the first time since time since the fighting in May.

Also last week, Hebrew media reports said that Egyptian-mediated talks in Cairo for a prisoner swap deal between Israel and Hamas had failed to yield progress. Israel is conditioning large-scale reconstruction of Gaza on Hamas releasing the civilian captives — Avera Mengistu and Hisham al-Sayed — and bodies of Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin, who were killed in combat in the Strip during the 2014 war.

Talks in Egypt were expected to resume this week.

Afghanistan
ANDSF Braces for Attacks on Major Cities, Highways, Border Areas
[ToloNews] Maj. Gen. Hibatullah Alizai, the commander of the Special Operations Corps, said that suppressing the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
is the top priority of the forces and that "strong belts" have been created for the protection of big cities, highways and border towns.

Alizai said there was a vast presence of Pak Taliban, especially Punjabis, in recent attacks by the Taliban,
Interesting.
and that "hundreds" of Taliban fighters have been killed in Afghan forces operations.

He stressed the need to retake the districts that have fallen to the Taliban.

He said that political, regional and social issues are behind the evacuation of dozens of districts by Afghan forces. He added that the issue will be investigated.

The general said that the Taliban wants to attack major cities but the Afghan forces are ready to thwart such plans.

"Our main goal is to inflict as many casualties on the enemy as possible. Besides that, our goal is to protect major cities, highways and key border towns that are important for our major cities and the country," he said.

Alizai, who returned from operations in Ghazni and Laghman
...Afghan province with a population of about 445,600, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a rural society. During the invasions of Alexander the Great, the area was known as Lampaka, wich is apparently Olde Macedonian for Laghman. The city of Mihtarlam serves as the bucolic capital of the province. The population is half Pashtun, the remainder Tadjik and Pashai. It had a repution for great wealth until it was conquered in the tenth century by Abu Mansur Sabuktigin.
He conquered it and set fire to the places in its vicinity which were inhabited by infidels, and demolishing the idol-temples, he established Islam in them, He marched and captured other cities and killed the polluted wretches, destroying the idolatrous and gratifying the Musulmans. After wounding and killing beyond all measure, his hands and those of his friends became cold in counting the value of the plundered property.
After that it was mostly notable for the production of dirt, rocks, and holy men...
on Saturday evening, said that foreign Taliban and al Qaeda gunnies have a presence among the Taliban.

"Pak Taliban are mostly seen these days and those Taliban who belong to Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

and those who even have Pakistain arm ID cards. The number of Afghan Taliban is dwindling," he said.

He added that at least 10,000 members of commando forces are engaged in suppressing the Taliban across the country and that their number will increase over time.

However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
there is criticism over how security in the country has been handled:

"If they had paid attention to the provinces, we would not be in the situation that we are today," said Daud Ghafoori, a Senator.

In the last two months, at least 120 districts have fallen to the Taliban, mostly in northern and northeastern Afghanistan.

Nat'l Education Assn. Goes All In for CRT
[Epoch Times] The largest labor and teachers' union has voted to spread and further the teaching of the quasi-Marxist critical race theory (CRT), which it describes as a "reasonable" and "appropriate" framework for students to understand and interpret America's past and present.

The National Education Association (NEA), which represents more than 3 million employees in public education, on June 30 kicked off its 100th Representative Assembly. During the four-day online convention, the union adopted a measure that would commit at least $127,600 to advance its pro-CRT agenda.
An Independence Day gift from the NEA.
Time to pass some state laws ending school districts collecting and passing on dues, and in fact making union membership optional. When they did so in Wisconsin, membership dropped like a rock in the first year after it went into effect. Whatever happened to that governor?
According to the plan, the NEA will share and publicize information about "what CRT is and what it is not," dedicate a "team of staffers" to assist union members who "want to learn more and fight back against anti-CRT rhetoric," and provide a study that critiques "power and oppression" in American society, including "white supremacy," "cisheteropatriarchy," and capitalism.
I'm not sure even Kurt has used "cishetropatriarchy" in his commentary, and he's usually up on all those terms.
The union also declared that it opposes attempts to ban CRT and the New York Times' highly controversial "1619 Project," which recasts American history on the claim that the United States was founded, and remains today, a racist nation.
Becoming more racist every day, but not the way the teachers think.
The reason behind the measure, according to the NEA's website, it that the "attacks on anti-racist teachers are increasing, coordinated by well-funded organizations such as the Heritage Foundation," and that the union needs to be "better prepared to respond to these attacks so that our members can continue this important work."

The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank based in Washington, has been hosting vocal opponents of CRT, including author and filmmaker Christopher Rufo, who has written extensively to expose the CRT's Marxist origins, how critical race theorists seek to undermine the foundations of American society, and how the ideology infiltrates schools, businesses, and government agencies.

"The national teachers union is funding an attack machine against me, @Gundisalvus, and our allies," Rufo wrote on Twitter in response to the NEA vote. "We were born for this fight‐and will show no mercy to the corrupt ideologues who are ruining American education. Swords up!"

Nigerian Women Part of Reintegration of Ex-Boko Haram Militants
[All Africa] The government's efforts to reintegrate former Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
Death Eaters have seen hundreds go through rehabilitation. The UN Women International Organisation for Migration, as well as the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, have called for the inclusion of women in the reintegration, reconciliation, and rehabilitation process in the northeast. They have stressed the need for women's participation in the states ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgency, to achieve better results.

The organisers noted that projects on disengagement, disassociation, reintegration, and reconciliation are already underway in the northeast region despite the challenges of ongoing hostilities. But they decried that these peace-making processes are often led and dominated by men, hence the need for a dialogue on inclusion. Thousands of people have been killed and millions displaced since the start of the Boko Haram insurgency in 2009.

Britain
Six Million EU Citizens Apply to Stay in UK after Brexit
How very odd.
[AnNahar] More than six million EU citizens have applied to stay in the UK after Brexit, the government said Friday, nearly twice the number thought be living in Britannia before it left the bloc.

There was a late flurry of applications ahead of a June 30 deadline for the settlement scheme, designed to allow EU citizens residing in the UK to retain the same rights as they enjoyed before Brexit.

But since the end of the Brexit transition period on January 1, EU citizens wishing to settle or stay have faced tougher tests to secure residency and employment.

The final figure of 6.02 million applications, with 5.1 million grants of status, is far higher than the 3.7 million EU nationals originally estimated to be in the country when the scheme launched in March 2019.

More than 400,000 applications were made in the final month before the scheme ended, the Home Office said, adding that those who had missed the deadline on "reasonable grounds" could still make a late application.

"When we left the EU we promised to protect the rights of EU citizens who have made their life in the UK, and developed the hugely successful EU Settlement Scheme to ensure they could call the UK home in the years to come," Home Secretary Priti Patel said.

The government has touted the settlement scheme as the successful delivery of promises made to EU nationals in the UK after Britannia's withdrawal from the bloc in December and the end of free movement.

However immigration rights campaigners have complained that the most vulnerable -- including children placed in care, young adults previously in care, the homeless and the elderly -- have been allowed to slip through the scheme's net.

Minister for Future Borders and Immigration Kevin Foster said the government had built "safeguards" into the scheme "to protect those who have not yet applied, but who may still be eligible" and "everybody will be able to get the status they deserve".

The Home Office said the approximately 570,000 applicants still awaiting approval will have their status protected while a decision is made.

Europe
France hopes deporting more alleged radicals will bring security
[DW] La Belle France has repatriated more than half the people it defined as radical Islamists living in the country without a residence permit since 2018. Now it wants to extend the penalty and deport even more.

When French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin summoned the country's regional prefects in June, his message was clear. The authorities in La Belle France's regions had to take swift, decisive action against foreigners who committed crimes. Residence permits should be reviewed, and more offenders should be deported if they had committed particularly serious crimes, such as second-degree murder, drug trafficking and rape.

Even if they are not immediately deported, people who have committed a criminal offense in La Belle France receive a letter telling them what the state expects of them. "Every year, the French Republic takes in people from other countries. One of the conditions for this is strict compliance with the rules and laws that govern its territory," the newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche quoted from a template of the letter, which concludes with a warning: "Any further crime will lead to a re-examination of your residence status, which could result in your being required to leave La Belle France."

Amsterdam Kommie mayor apologizes for slave trade
Direct Translation of the article via Google Translate. Edited.
[RT] On Thursday, a historic speech was delivered in Amsterdam's Osterpark. Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema has apologized for the Dutch capital's involvement in the slave trade. “The time has come to brick the great injustice of colonial slavery into our urban identity — through frank and unconditional recognition, ” said Green Left politician Halsema. Amsterdam is the first city in the country to take this step. This was one of the signs of a rethinking of the discussion, which was promoted by the Black Lives Matter movement, writes the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

A study commissioned by the city council has shed light on Amsterdam's role in the slave trade. It was found that in 1578-1795. most of the city's 139 mayors simultaneously headed the Dutch West India and East India companies, which made huge profits from the slave trade. “The interests of the state, companies and individuals often merge into one whole,” the report says.

It was not the Serbs who fought in the Battle of Kosovo?
Direct translation of the article via Google Translate. Edited.
By Tatiana Stoyanovich

[Regnum] The statement of the former ambassador of the separatist Kosovo to the United States, Viori Chitaku , that the battle on the field of Kosovo against the Ottoman Empire in 1389 was not attended by the Serbs, but by the "Balkan army" is completely unscientific, and therefore it is pointless to discuss or criticize these words from a scientific point of view. The Serbian historian Marko Pejovic stated this to IA REGNUM .
