Afghanistan Faces Imminent Blackouts As Power Bills Skyrocket
As noted with the 'Afghanistan Children Are Starving And DYYYYYIINNNGGG!' tweet / article posted this morning, there does seem to be some coordinated narratives being established, which all come back to one thing - Afghanistan, the perennial basket case nation, needs lots of help, preferably in small bills, and we don't care where it comes from.

That, and the Taliban can't run a lemonade stand.

[Zero Hedge] - While the Taliban are clearly preoccupied with the security situation inside the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as emphasized by Sunday's bombing at a major mosque in Kabul (ironically, the former insurgents are facing an insurgency of their own led by ISIS-Khorasan, the Islamic State's Central Asian faction), there's an even more pressing issue currently confronting Afghanistan's new leadership.

It's looking increasingly likely that the Central Asian suppliers who contribute roughly half of the country's electricity are getting ready to pull the plug, according to the guy who used to run Afghanistan's state power authority, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, which he quit roughly two weeks after the Taliban takeover and likely fled. He at least felt safe enough to tell WSJ that the consequences of the Taliban not making good with Afghanistan's Central Asian power suppliers could be "really dangerous."

"The consequences would be countrywide, but especially in Kabul. There will be blackout and it would bring Afghanistan back to the Dark Ages when it comes to power and to telecommunications," said Mr. Noorzai, who remains in close contact with DABS’s remaining management. "This would be a really dangerous situation."
Now that some funny shit right there!

If you dig a little. You will also find.

On Feb. 5, 1958, a B-47 bomber dropped a 7,000-pound nuclear bomb into the waters off Tybee Island, Ga., after it collided with another Air Force jet.

The bomb -- which has unknown quantities of radioactive material -- has never been found.

#4  Seems to be systemic problem -

May 22, 1957- A B-36 aircraft (52-2816) of the 334th Bombardment Squadron, 95th Bombardment Wing, was transporting a Mark 17 ten-megaton hydrogen bomb from Biggs AFB, Texas to Kirkland AFB, New Mexico. As the aircraft was on approach to Kirkland and over Albuquerque, New Mexico, the thermonuclear device, weighing 42,000 pounds, dropped from the bomber just 4 miles south of Albuquerque.

#5  Then you get the Titan that exploded in its silo in Arkansas in 1980. The explosion blew the 740-ton silo door away from the silo and ejected the second stage and warhead. Once clear of the silo, the second stage exploded. The W53 warhead landed about 100 feet from the launch complex's entry gate; its safety features prevented any loss of radioactive material or nuclear detonation.

Our devices have always been fairly predictable in bad situations.

'Military' planes are spotted landing at Bagram airbase in Afghanistan after it was claimed China is 'considering' sending soldiers to ex US airbase to strengthen ties with Taliban
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • There are unconfirmed reports that Chinese military planes have landed at Bagram airbase in Afghanistan

  • New images from Afghanistan show that power has been restored to the base and multiple sources alleged military planes arrived at the former US stronghold

  • It comes after Yun Sun, Director of the China Program at Stimson Research Center, said China would be 'eager' to occupy the airfield and seize any equipment left over by the US

  • The move would be an attempt to strengthen ties with the Taliban and embarrass America

So he sent in US Combat Troops and Elite Special Forces Groups to be peace keepers. The media jumped in, recorded and played the staged DOD Water and Parachute assault landings. Plus other powder puff PR pieces to help support and deflect attention from their President's personal problems.

Rodrigo Duterte: Philippine president announces retirement from politics
[BBC] The 76-year-old leader said last month that he would run for the vice-presidency in 2022. The country's constitution only permits presidents to serve a single six-year term.

But he now says he will withdraw, as "the overwhelming sentiment of the Filipinos is that I am not qualified".

The move comes amid speculation that his daughter could run for president.

Mr Duterte, a controversial "strongman" figure, came to power in 2016 promising to reduce crime and fix the country's drug crisis.

But critics say that during his five years in power, Mr Duterte has encouraged police to carry out thousands of extrajudicial killings of suspects in what he has called his "war on drugs".

Mr Duterte's daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio, who is currently mayor of the southern city of Davao, has given mixed messages about running for high office.

Last month Ms Duterte-Carpio said that she would not join the race because she and her father had agreed that only one of them would stand in the election next May.

However, she has led every opinion poll conducted this year.

Mr Duterte announced his surprise retirement at the venue in Manila where he was expected to register his candidacy.

Dindunuffin, Georgia Terrorist Threatening to Kill Black People Was Actually a Black Woman Creating a Hoax Crime
[Last Refuge] Since last December, a Douglasville, Georgia neighborhood has been gripped in fear due to racially charged messages that have anonymously been left in the mailboxes of residents of color, reports Fox News. But now police said they have made an arrest and the alleged culprit is not who the neighbors expected.

Wednesday, the Douglasville Police Department confirmed that they had filed criminal charges against Clayton Bigsby Terresha Lucas. Lucas is a 30-year-old Black woman who they believe threatened people in her community while posing as a Ku Klux Klan member.

Criminal charges were filed against Terresha Lucas, a 30-year-old Black woman

In an unexpected turn of events, this week authorities in Georgia revealed they believe a Black woman is behind the "racially charged" notes that have been terrorizing her neighborhood.

Since last December, a Douglasville, Georgia neighborhood has been gripped in fear due to racially charged messages that have anonymously been left in the mailboxes of Negroes residents of color, reports Fox News. But now officials say police have made an arrest and the alleged culprit is not who anyone would have expected.
Of course not.
Wednesday, the Douglasville Police Department confirmed that they had filed criminal charges against Terresha Lucas. Lucas is a 30-year-old Black woman who they believe threatened people in her community while posing as a Ku Klux Klan member.

In the notes, threats were made to burn down homes and kill their occupants. The author of these disturbing messages also made it a point to describe themselves as "a six-feet-tall white male with a long, red beard who did not live in the neighborhood."

After the initial messages in December, more messages popped back up in the spring.

"By mid-March, we really didn’t have anything to go on," explained Detectives Nathan Shumaker who spent months going door-to-door while investigating the case.

After six months of inactivity, the final messages started back up in September. At that point, it appeared the investigation had hit a dead end until Labor Day when investigators discovered evidence that linked the letters to Lucas.

Afghanistan
How Afghan women live under the Taliban
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
By Alexander Kots

[KP] In the first couple of weeks after the capture of Kabul, the Taliban * proclaimed a tolerant attitude towards women

Kabul neckline
23-year-old Mushgan Ahmadi , dressed in a strict Islamic suit, puts a chic dress with bold, by local standards, bare shoulders and a truly brave neckline against a slender figure hiding under baggy clothes.

"This is my favorite," she smiles dreamily. "This is a dress of a bridesmaid, I would very much like to wear it to a wedding someday."

We are standing in the middle of a small showroom that simply splashes with fashionable luxury. Wedding dresses with rhinestones, cocktail dresses, embroidered with shiny stones, strict business, but with "bare" elements that clearly do not correspond to the strict Sharia norms that have recently been in effect in this country.

Mushgan was born during the first reign of the Taliban and, of course, does not remember its order, she grew up already "under the Americans," as they say here.

"I went to school, graduated from the Agricultural University, and created my own business from scratch."

A young businesswoman was the only breadwinner in the family

The opportunity to learn and realize oneself for people like her is a given, not a won right. The more painful is the collision with the new reality.

But the girl with all her appearance is trying to show that she is able to take a blow. From the showroom he takes me to a photo studio: "Here we dressed the models in new dresses and took photographs for advertising and promotion in social networks."

We pass through a small garden with dense rose bushes to the third room -- a video studio -- where Mushgan realized her creative ambitions as part of a Youtube project: "It is about the history of our country, culture, memorable places, and Afghan poets. We are recording this all for future generations. Shooting on the spot is, of course, difficult. But we have a lot of history books and we put different stories on top of the footage we find on the internet."

The young businesswoman was the only breadwinner in the family. Now there are no sources of income.

"We have our own factory where we sew women's outfits. But now, we closed it, took the machines home, and we had to sell some of them."

- More Western style, who bought these dresses?

"In fact, before such dresses were imported here from different countries. We decided we could do the same here on the spot. Women love this cut and have bought from us. And there were even orders from Europe."

Banned gifts
By the way, Kabul can be called a city of wedding salons. There are dozens of them, if not hundreds, and one is more luxurious than the other. Concrete and glass, with marble staircases, antique columns.

"We fell in love here at weddings during our American presence. But, for example, in the province of Kapisa, the new authorities banned celebrating the wedding after it was held, giving gifts to the young (the groom can give the bride gold) and serving something other than rice, bread and gorme - dishes made from lamb meat, herbs , beans and spinach. Moderation should be in everything, even in celebrations."

- How long have you been in business? - I ask the girl.

"When I graduated from the university, I thought about my financial future. I started three years ago, and it went well. Parents were not against it, we have an enlightened family, they know about the rights of women. And they supported me. I worked part-time while I was studying, saved up a small amount.

I have a partner who also invested. At the initial stage, we had only two sellers. Before the arrival of the Taliban, the company already employed 30 employees. 20 people were engaged in sales, the rest - in production. Now they are at home without work. The Taliban told us to close, but it sounded like temporary. They say there will be an announcement about new rules for women, but they have not yet been announced."

- And what is left of the working person from your business?

"Historical studio only. And the remaining dresses in the showroom."

- Can I leave Afghanistan and work as a designer in another country?

"I have done many projects to show my country abroad. If the opportunity arises, I'm ready. But not forever. I want to stay here with other women."

"Projects" are all kinds of programs that the West has been promoting in Afghanistan for two decades through various non-profit and non-governmental organizations. Women's rights have been a central case in which billions have been spent.

Feminist studies at Kabul University, campaigns to eradicate male stereotypes, aid funds ... Part of the funds, of course, was shamelessly plundered, but some money still worked to make the Afghan woman finally feel like a human being. Who knew that only for a while.

We were happy with the Americans
Fazila Azizi has worked at the Ministry of Industry and Trade for over 25 years. since the time of Najibula. With a break for the Taliban "first coming" from 1996 to 2001.

"We were just getting used to wearing hijabs," she recalls. "We were forbidden to go out into the street without a man's escort. We could not travel to any other province or outside of Afghanistan. You can't remember everything, but life was hard. The men had no jobs, and we tried to do something at home to get money for food. And it was a serious challenge for almost every family at the time."

- And then the Americans came ...

"We were happy. Because they were finally able to go to work, start improving their lives, improve their education - I finally graduated with a bachelor's degree. The country was gradually moving from a closed economy to a market economy, and I was involved in planning as well as helping women entrepreneurs.

Many countries helped us, including Russia, which sent here various goods as humanitarian aid. There were government programs for the poor - in specialty stores, essential products were sold much cheaper than in regular supermarkets."

Fazilya admits: “We are all deeply depressed. Both women and men "

Fazili's "women's" department has worked with such giants of American "soft power" as USAID. Support was provided by similar NGOs in the European Union. Planning modern life, developing your own economic strategy, entering the domestic and international markets with your ideas. Finance, branding, office rental.

Businesswomen appeared in almost all sectors of the economy - handicrafts, jewelry, agricultural business, dried fruits, carpets, leather ... Mushgan Ahmadi, apparently, also went through this school of independent female life, I thought. And asked:

- And how did men feel about these metamorphoses?

"I felt the daily risk coming from men. Even from those with whom we worked. Many people directly told me: 'Stop supporting women.' Our society is built in such a way that men do not like it when women become independent and improve their abilities. You don't have to be a Taliban member to do this.

- But with his arrival it became even more difficult?

"They announced that we would stay at home and not go to work until they tell us that it is possible. I, of course, continue to help women - both by phone and by e-mail, and in person, if they ask for advice.

What will happen to business licenses, how now to arrange the export of dried fruits to India, many now do not have the means to pay their employees, because there are no orders for their goods. While the new authorities promised to pay something to the state employees, the private sector was almost entirely without profit. But many have families, children. And, as a rule, everyone had a family business, there are simply no other sources of income. No money, no plans, no confidence in the future - what kind of life is this?"

The "thaw" has passed
And then there are new 'orders.' In different provinces of the country, women are forbidden to walk in heels (so as not to "excite men in public places"), act in films, play sports, get higher education, teach in universities, have a smartphone with a camera (so as not to take a selfie and not call effect, like heels), use cosmetics (the reason is the same).

The central authorities lazily brush aside the authorship of these innovations. Say, this is not the position of the official government, but excesses on the ground. Convenient position.

In all fairness, new exotic taboos are being imposed on men as well. Banned "American hairstyles" and shaving beards. And even Taliban fighters have been ordered not to wear white sneakers (as part of an alien culture) and to take selfies (this harms the status 'obtained by the blood of martyrs'). But here, as they say, they did not live beautifully - there is nothing to start. But the fair sex, who just felt like that, is insulting to tears.

It started out pretty well. In the first couple of weeks after the capture of Kabul, the Taliban proclaimed a tolerant attitude towards women. In the frame of local television channels, 80 percent of them are journalists. Two female reporters (unprecedented!) Interview Taliban leader Mullah Baradar. This is the thaw!

Almost a month later, not a trace of the 'new Taliban ethics' remained.

"We thought they had really changed in 20 years," admits Afghan national television journalist Shinkai Furzai.

We meet at the office of a small radio station located in the usual entrance of a residential building, where the door of each apartment on the site is fenced off with a square of massive iron lattice from floor to ceiling.

"We decided that we would be allowed to work," Shinkai continues. "But in reality, when I presented my ID to the new Taliban guards, they sent me home, saying that they would additionally announce when I could come to work. And this has happened to all women in the media. Most of them are now trying to leave the country. There is no hope for the future."

- You yourself did not think to leave?

"I love journalism, I also lectured at the university. I had the hope that I would be useful to the female students. She was going to defend her master's degree, but now everything has changed. Three months ago, Canada announced that those who want to leave Afghanistan can apply to the embassy with a corresponding statement. My friends advised me to do it, but then I refused. And now I already want to leave Afghanistan."

Ideology versus money
I remembered that I had just passed the Iranian embassy. There are two huge queues at its massive walls: a man's and a woman's. The second is longer. Those wishing to fly away continue to hammer the thresholds of diplomatic missions, which still issue visas. At least transit. Maybe among those women were former Shinkai colleagues. She has been working in television for over 20 years. She covered the international agenda, and also led her own program dedicated, as you might guess, to women's rights.

"I went to special courses in Germany, where we were taught to cover such topics. She made stories from women's prisons, a report on places of detention of women who were left without housing. We had a lot of girls - photographers, technical staff, lighting, cameramen, sound engineers, editors ... There was a special organization 'Aina,' which trained girls in various journalistic directions using Western grants. I also underwent training there. One could come there right after school, get a profession and get a job."

- Did you have any problems during your work?

"From the side of the government - no. But they arose in the provinces. Afghan society is very traditional and religious. When you drive around the outback and make stories about the life of women, you face opposition. They were not allowed to film, they were forbidden to interview."

- It turns out that Afghans in Kabul felt freer than in other provinces?

"You could say that. There are more well-educated women here. Here they occupy a leading position in the family, and in the provinces they do not know about their rights."

And this is perhaps the key point. Fenced off by military bases, concrete fences and green zones, the American comrades carried out their tasks and, for the most part, guarded themselves. But to justify their presence, they built a screen for building a new society - free and happy. In some cities it worked at the very least. At the very least, the reports on the utilization of funds allocated to promoting gender equality must have been convincing.

And the patriarchal province, where it is not customary to consult with women, lived in its own archaic world, to which the ideology of the Taliban is much closer than Western values. She quietly despised urban fashionistas guarded by the American military, considering them to be snickering, crazy mankurt.

And the speech here, of course, is not only about women's rights. Actually, at the ideological level, the United States lost long before the withdrawal. Unlike the Soviet Union, they could not oppose anything to the idea. It was thanks to her (no matter how you feel about the idea of building socialism) that the Najibula regime, after the departure of a limited contingent, held out for another three years. But he was opposed not only by the Mujahideen, but by forces supported by the West. The Americans in Afghanistan were only able to offer money. Which the fugitive president Ghani eventually took out by helicopters.

That is why the Taliban took entire provinces without a fight. It is no coincidence that now in different districts the same women, but dressed in deaf 'cloaks,' go out to rallies in support of the new government. However, my interlocutor Fazilya Azizi does not want to believe that this is not a regulation:

"I saw these shots, they look like men there, and their faces are completely hidden. I don't think there were only women at these shows. Perhaps among them were the men who directed them. Nobody saw who it really was. Moreover, now it is not forbidden to wear a hijab with an open face. Unlike the first arrival of the Taliban."

- It turns out that there are at least some positive changes.

Fazilya laughs sadly.

"At the same time, all our previous achievements - not only of women, but of Afghans in general - have become useless. Over the past 20 years, we have made a huge leap forward, the transport system, electricity, we had grandiose plans, today they are all frozen."

- Do you have any grudge against the Western world, which introduced you to new opportunities and actually betrayed you, leaving you alone with those who will bury these opportunities?

"Every night, when I go to bed, I think: 'We lost. Why did this happen to us. Every night I ... ', - unable to cope with emotions, the woman begins to cry.

I hand her a packet of paper napkins. She wipes away her tears, inhales deeply several times and, having calmed down a little, confesses:

"We are all deeply depressed. Both women and men."

WH Staff Veto Joe Biden, Keep Him from Taking Democrat Lawmakers' Questions
[Breitbart] President Joe Biden’s staff members prevented the president from taking questions during a Democrat caucus meeting on Capitol Hill, amid high-stakes negotiations that have imperiled his multi-trillion-dollar agenda and exasperated the schism between the party’s corporatist and socialist factions.

Politico reporter Sarah Ferris said Biden offered to take questions from Democrat lawmakers upon concluding his remarks, but his staff members "jumped in."

UN agency for Palestinian refugees has urgent budget crisis
[YNet] - The UN agency helping Palestinian refugees is facing an "existential" budget crisis and appealing for urgent funding of $120 million to keep essential education, healthcare and other services running, the agency’s chief said Friday.

"The financial situation is a real existential threat on the organization, and we should not underestimate this because it might force the organization to decrease services," he added, and if that happens "we risk to collapse very quickly."

At stake is the agency’s ability to keep 550,000 children in school, provide health care for thousands, and pay the salaries for its 28,000 staffers in November and December, Lazzarini explained.

The UN Relief and Works Agency known as UNRWA was established to provide education, health care, food and other services to the 700,000 Palestinians who fled or were forced from their homes during the war surrounding Israel’s establishment in 1948.

Lazzarini added that it wasn’t clear for agency officials "if yes or no we will be able to keep our activities in November and December."
700000 who, somehow, morphed into 12 million by now.

Iran asked U.S. to unfreeze $10 bln to show good will, Iran official says
[Ynet] Iran's foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Saturday that U.S. officials tried to discuss restarting nuclear talks last month, but he insisted Washington must first release $10 billion of Tehran's frozen funds as a sign of good will.

Iran has rejected direct talks with the United States, and indirect talks on reviving a 2015 nuclear accord aimed at keeping Iran from being able to develop a nuclear weapon stopped in June.

Coronavirus: Serious patients drop as new Green Pass system kicks in
[JPost] - The number of serious COVID-19 patients over the weekend dropped below 600 for the first time since mid-August.
As of Saturday night, there were 587 patients in serious condition, 100 less than a week earlier. The highest number recorded in the fourth wave was 738 on September 23.

The new Green Pass system is set to come into effect on Sunday as the coronavirus cabinet is scheduled to meet for the first time in a month. In light of the encouraging data, which also included a decline in the reproduction and positivity rates, the cabinet is not expected to introduce any new restrictions, including no cap on large gatherings which had been widely discussed.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett expressed satisfaction over the development but said it is too soon to celebrate, as the outbreak is not over.
In Israel it's a war against Covid. In some other places: it's a war between two political parties.

Newsom signs sweeping reforms, raises age for new cops to 21, can lose badge for 'racial bias'
[BIZPACREVIEW] Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Gov. Gavin can't be Bee'd Newsom
...the Mitt Romneyesque mayor of San Francisco as it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of California as it transforms itself into Cinderland...
has signed a number of sweeping police reform bills that take aim at alleged law enforcement misconduct and will allow officers to be stripped of their badges for "racial bias" and other deemed offenses.
They keep voting for these pieces of candied excrement, so they deeserve what they get with them.
On Thursday, surrounded by what Newsom called "moral leadership" and the family members of those killed by law enforcement officers, he signed into law eight police reform bills claiming that they would increase transparency and accountability. He was joined by California Attorney General Rob Bonta who proclaimed that there is a "crisis of trust" between citizens and officers.

"We’re delivering concrete solutions from banning dangerous holds that lead to asphyxia to multiple other mechanisms that improve accountability and oversight and transparency," Bonta declared.

"I’m here as governor of California mindful that we’re in a juxtaposition of being a leader on police reform and a lagger on police reform," Newsom bloviated from a park gymnasium in the Los Angeles suburb of Gardena. "We have a lot to be proud of but there’s areas where we have nothing to brag about."

OK I have to ask....
Given the 18-20 year Federal Firearms Law denying pistols to under 21 years old was recently invalided.Jul 13, 2021 — WASHINGTON – A federal appeals court has ruled that prohibitions on selling handguns to Americans under 21 violates the Second Amendment

So how were <21 yr/old polices officers legally armed before?

But then still an US 18-20 year old only has Limited Rights as an Adult.

Now as far ANY Police Officer being found "Racially Bias" in the course of their police duties & arrests being canned? Doesn't that go w/o saying?

Finally addressing how suspects are physically detained during Violent RESISTING ARREST situations.

When a Police Officers live is in danger, I agree with the Police in using as much force deemed needed to control the violent situation.

Jonathan Turley: Defamation of Border Patrol agents may be actionable
[TheHill] ... this has all of the makings of a defamation case.

The most important element is that all of the whipping stories were based on the same videotape; there were no added sources for most of these accounts. Even if these officers were treated as "public officials" under the more difficult standard of New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

v. Sullivan, they could still make a compelling argument that the comments were made with the "actual knowledge" of the falsity or "reckless disregard of the truth." Moreover, these claims would be recognized in many states as per se defamation. While some can legitimately argue that the use of the horses was still abusive or dangerous, horses are routinely used for crowd control and these border agents were ordered to the river for that purpose.

Congressional critters members like Waters and Pressley can often rely on the protections of the Speech or Debate Clause of the Constitution (Article I, Section 6, Clause 1). However,
a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all...
their remarks in this case were made outside of protected congressional areas.
"That man is a liar, a thief, a child molester, and he pooped in my hat!... Can't touch me. I'm a congresscritter!"
Those in the media might limit their legal liability with corrections posted or published within a few days of the initial reports — but they can still be sued. It could be argued that some apparently did not care if the border agents did or did not whip migrants colonists because "it was a fact too good to check." Moreover, the use of the still photos was uniformly misleading and could be used as the basis for "false light" charges, in which pictures are used to present a false or misleading image.

Biden sabotages his own Infrastructure Bill
[Politico] "The fact that the president came to the Hill and whipped against his own bill is the strangest thing I've ever seen."

That late-night observation was just one of many we heard from frustrated lawmakers and senior aides stunned by what happened in the House on Friday.

What senior Dems thought was going to happen: President JOE BIDEN was coming to the Hill to support Speaker NANCY PELOSI's efforts to rally the party behind his historic $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan ahead of a Friday vote.

What ended up happening instead: Biden told them he wanted to hold off on BIF until there was a reconciliation deal; even if that means delaying the vote for several more days or even weeks.....
the White House responded to this with banana oil
The White House pushed back on suggestions that they muscled support against their own bill. A White House official said Klain told progressives to "hang tight"; not "hold firm"; for more details on logistics.

Two Burkina soldiers killed in blast near Ivory Coast
[AlAhram] Two soldiers in Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
were killed on Saturday in a kaboom in the southwestern Cascades region near the Ivory Coast border, security sources said.

The explosion is the latest in a series of attacks generally attributed to jihadists.

"A team on a security mission was the target of a terrorist attack on Saturday. Two elements were killed by a homemade device which went kaboom! as they passed by," a security source told AFP.

Another source confirmed the "loss of two soldiers".

Elsewhere, in eastern Sakoani two more soldiers were maimed in another explosion.

Earlier this week, five soldiers on patrol in the north of the country were killed by an improvised bomb.

A jihadist insurgency in neighbouring Mali spilt over into Burkina in 2015.

The gangs are linked to al-Qaeda and the so-called Islamic State

More than 1,500 people have died in the attacks in Burkina Faso and at least 1.4 million people forced to flee their homes. Most of the attacks have been in the north and east, near the borders with Mali and Niger.

Anti-Talib Resistance: In Nangarhar 4 Talibs toes up, in Kapisa 5 Talibs ditto
It looks like outside of Panjshir all anti-Talib kinetic actions will be blamed on ISIS..
Four Killed in Attack in Nangarhar
[ToloNews] At least four people were killed in a assassination in eastern Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
province on Saturday evening, officials said, with one source saying a child was among those killed.

Local officials confirmed the attack and said it occurred in District 3 of Jalalabad city, the provincial center of the province.

According to the officials, those killed were two civilians and two force members of the Islamic Emirate.

According to a source, a child was among those killed.

So far no group has grabbed credit for the attack.
Two other civilians were wounded in the attack, said Mohammad Hanif, a cultural official for the city's surrounding province, Nangarhar.

No one claimed responsibility for the shooting, but the Islamic State group, which has a strong presence in Nangarhar and considers the Taliban an enemy, has previously claimed several attacks against them, including several killings in Jalalabad.

The two civilians killed were Sayed Maroof Sadat, a former spokesman for the Nangarhar department of agriculture, and his cousin, Sharif Sadat told the AP. Sadat's son was among the two wounded, he added.

Since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in mid-August, attacks by IS militants against them have increased. The rise has raised the specter of a wider conflict between the two extremist groups.

On Friday, Taliban fighters raided a hideout of the Islamic State group north of Kabul, killing and arresting an unspecified number of militants, a Taliban spokesman said. IS activity in Nangarhar province has also led to Taliban crackdowns there.

Kapisa: Unidentified gunnies target Talibs in car
[KhaamaPress] Sources in Kapisa province say that gunmen targeted a ranger car of the Taliban and killed at least five members of the Taliban but the latter has not commented on the issue yet.

ISIS-K is now believed to be the biggest threat to the Taliban in Afghanistan that can endanger the security of the country and the Taliban government in the meantime.

The Taliban has repeatedly said that the group is not a threat to them and they have the ability to eliminate ISIS-K in Afghanistan.

That's true only when you're fighting Western troops, who are averse to collective punishment as a matter of policy. We've had this collective amnesia imposed upon us about the efficacy of large-scale massacre as a means of quashing revolts. But its effectiveness remains time-tested.

Both Communist and anti-Communist regimes resorted to it during the Cold War. Communist regimes achieved more decisive outcomes because they were more ruthless, and their per capita body counts higher. Ultimately, rubble doesn't make trouble.

IDF troops apprehend two Gaza men with hand grenades near border
[IsraelTimes] Suspects taken in for interrogation by Israel’s security services; incident follows death of Paleostinian man also seen approaching border this week.

Israeli troops apprehended two Paleostinian men who tried to cross from the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip into Israel carrying hand grenades, the Israeli military said Saturday.

The two were taken in for interrogation by Israel’s security services, according to the announcement.
"We wuz bird hunting. Like them other fellas this week"
On Thursday, Israeli troops fired at a Paleostinian man who was seen approaching the border, killing him, according to the Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,-run Gaza Health Ministry.

The military said troops fired at the man after he was seen approaching the border with two other men in a suspicious way by IDF troops watching the area through surveillance cameras.

"IDF monitors saw three suspects approaching the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip, as one of them was seen digging in the ground while carrying a suspicious bag," the military said Thursday, without further clarifying.

"After he was spotted, IDF troops who were on the scene shot up the suspect," the IDF said.

The military said it was aware of the Paleostinian reports that the man had been hit by the gunfire and died, but would not comment further.

Gaza health officials identified the dear departed as Mohammad Abd al-Karim Abu Ammar, 40, saying that he had been shot in the neck by live bullets.

Caribbean-Latin America
Book Review: Coronados Well Equipped Army
By Chris Covert

This is an exceedingly detailed description of captain general Francisco Vazquez de Coronado's expedition into southwestern deserts of the United State, which is exactly what I sought to read.

Author John M. Hutchins's central thesis is that Coronado's expedition was at its base a military force organized for invasion. Part of the thesis he backs up with descriptions of commercial invoices, military muster lists, and contracts compilations (sign in sheets), personal correspondence and other documents.

The base of the expedition, however, was that it was commercial in nature with young Spanish fighters and some Spanish nobles (hidalgo) signing on in anticipation of future payout from booty taken from the Indians in the area. Commercial as it was, it was commissioned by New Spain Viceroy Antonio de Mendoza, who recruited Coronado and a number of other Spanish mercenaries to join the expedition.

Part of the agreement that formed and finalized the expedition was the inclusion of Spanish Catholic friars, who took the role of proselytizers of the Christian faith. Many of them stayed behind to continue their Christian mission, and subsequently disappeared.

The expedition was based on the testimony of a native Indian known as The Turk, who throughout the expedition continually spoke of the riches of the Seven Cities of Cibola.

The military thesis offered by the author is further supported by Coronado's tendency to dispatch small screening parties forward or to areas to the flanks of their route of march, to check out stories or to scope out what was ahead. These covering parties expanded the Spanish knowledge of the region, so much so, the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River was discovered in the course of those parties' duties.

And those discoveries were made because of logistics. For as well equipped as Coronado's army was, and as well supplied they were in the early going, even Mendoza at the outset decided to embark two supply ship convoys along the eastern coast of the Gulf of Cortes (Now known as the Gulf of California). Out of an abundance of caution, Mendoza sent those ships to the outlet of the Colorado river twice, both times to be missed by two separate recon parties.

Logistics also was at the base of Coronado's troubles. The expedition had little to trade with the Zuni indians of New Mexico or the Hopi indians of Arizona, and so was forced to conduct military attacks on their pueblos to gain supplies and subservience.

By the time the expedition made it to Quivera (now central Kansas) Coronado had the Turk murdered. Another hard winter in west Texas and the decision was made to return to New Spain.

The author points out that the expedition was a financial bust, with the expedition returning with little to show for its efforts. Mendoza convened an inquiry. Coronado was tried and acquitted on the most serious charges, but convicted on the lesser charges. He paid a fine.

Still he managed to return home to his spouse, a far better fate than the Pizzaro brothers in Peru, who were wiped out to a man by the Incas, save for Gonzalo who was executed by the Spanish king, Charles V.

I knew about the expedition of Coronado as a schoolboy with much of that knowledge fading over a lifetime. This book filled and in some cases refilled that knowledge. It is a highly recommended read.

Somewhat recently, they found the foundations of the community of Etzanoa, nearby to current Arkansas City. It was estimated to have a population of 20,000 making it among the largest permanent Native settlements.

I'll have to check it out; thanks badanov.

Afghanistan
Life under the Talibs: selling children, closing factories
Displaced Afghan Mother Sells Infant to Save Her Ill Daughter
[ToloNews] An Afghan woman displaced from Baghlan province to Kabul due to fighting prior to the fall of Kabul, has sold her one and a half years old infant due to poverty. Living in a tent in Kabul, the mother, Lailuma, said she had no option but to sell her infant to treat her 13-year-old daughter who is sick. Lailuma said she sold her baby for 30,000 Afs ($335) and that her husband is missing since last year.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, another bullet hole appeared in Butch's hat......
a number of people displaced families in Kabul said their challenges are increasing as the winter is approaching. The displaced families live in different parts of Kabul under tents. They said their children are getting sick as the weather is getting cold. A large number of displaced families are living under tents in Kabul. They were displaced ahead of the fall of the government in Kabul.

The displaced families said they have not received any help from the Ministry of Refugees.

"People from the Ministry of Refugees came here and did a survey, but they have not provided any assistance so far. We will starve if this situation continues," said Aaisha, a displaced woman from Takhar.

Over 100 Factories Halt Operations in Herat
[ToloNews] Officials at the chamber of industry and mines said that more than 100 factories have halted their operations due to economic challenges within past two months in the western province of Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
Officials said that economic challenges, shortage of raw materials and lack of proper sale market are the main reasons for reduction in operations of Herat industrial companies.

Local officials in Herat said that they have increased tariffs on imported goods to layout a good market for domestic products.

The private sector in Herat said that reduction of corruption in customs and ensuring of proper security on highways triggered a new wave of hope among investors to continue their businesses.

Culture Ministry Denies Restrictions on Afghan Media
[ToloNews] The Ministry of Information and Culture on Saturday denied claims it was imposing restrictions on the media in Afghanistan, saying that all media outlets can continue their activities. “There are small cases that happen in some areas,” said Mawlavi Noor Mohammad Motawakil, a member of the cultural commission of the ministry.

“If there is any illegal action, it will be addressed. The Islamic Emirate supported the media before, and it is supporting it now. Of course, the publishing must be in an Islamic format and in accordance with Afghanistan’s tradition,” he said.

“Despite the Taliban’s promises to allow media that ‘respected Islamic values’ to function, the new rules are suffocating media freedom in the country,” said Patricia Gossman, associate Asia director at Human Rights Watch, as quoted in a statement released by the group. “The Taliban regulations are so sweeping that journalists are self-censoring and fear ending up in prison.”

Haroon Noor, who has worked for a local media organization for nearly 10 years in the northern province of Parwan, said that media access to information has been restricted at an unprecedented level since the fall of the former government.

“Since the start of the Islamic Emirate government onward, there have been widespread restrictions on journalists,” he said. “If you want to make a political program, you must get permission from the Ministry of Information and Culture.”

The head of one of the media outlets in Parwan, Mohammad Shafiq, said: “Journalists do not dare to go to events, particularly the events that have recently occurred. Fear and panic exists; the right (freedom of expression) is almost taken away.”

On Friday two journalists were reportedly detained by government forces in Parwan. However, the journalists were released after being detained for some time.

“We have reports from Parwan province that two journalists were detained by the forces of the Islamic Emirate while covering an event,” said Masror Lotfi, a member of the Afghan Journalist's Union. “The detention of journalists while they cover events is a serious restriction to the access to information. We even have reports from Parwan that the journalists must get permission from the provincial culture and information department in order to report an event.”

Peacekeeper killed in blast in Mali's troubled north: UN
[AlAhram] A peacekeeper died Saturday and four others were seriously injured in Mali's volatile north near the Algerian border when an improvised bomb went off, the UN said.

"One dead and three seriously injured after one of our teams hit an improvised bomb near Tessalit", close to the Algerian border, the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali, Minusma, said.

"This incident is a sad reminder of the permanent danger hanging over our peacekeepers and of the sacrifices made for peace in Mali", head of Minusma El-GhassimWane was quoted as saying in a statement.

"Today's cowardly attack only strengthens Minusma's determination to support Mali and its people in their quest for peace and stability," he said.

In April, four Chadian peacekeepers from Minusma were killed in a jihadist attack on their camp in Aguelhok, also in northeastern Mali.

Taliban to deploy suicide bombers to Afghanistan’s borders
[KhaamaPress] Deputy Governor of Badakhshan province has told media that they have created an exclusive battalion of jacket wallahs that will be deployed to the borders of Afghanistan particularly in Badakhshan province.

The northeastern province of Badakhshan borders Tajikistan and China.

The deputy governor, Mullah Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi said that the exclusive battalion is named Lashkar-e-Mansoori "Mansoor army" and will be deployed to the borders of the country.

Ahmadi has said that the battalion is the same as the one that would conduct suicide kabooms targeting the security forces of the previous Afghan government.

"The defeat of the US would not be possible if not for this battalion. These brave men would wear explosive waistcoats and would detonate the US bases in Afghanistan. These are people with literally no fear who devote themselves for the consent of ALLAH." Said Ahmadi.

Along with the Lashkar-e-Mansoori, Badri313 is another battalion that is known as one of the most equipped and modern military groups that are deployed in Kabul International Airport.

Badri313 is also said to be comprised of all suicide bombers.

Melania and White House aides called Ivanka and Jared 'the interns'
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham's new book is packed with condemnations of power couple Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump — and claims they meddled and muddied the early response to the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
pandemic.
From the story content, it sounds like bitchiness on the part of the author.
She writes in her new tell-all book that Kushner's 'arrogance and presumption had grown over the years, and he threw his power about with absolutely no shame.'
On the other hand, there's that Abraham Accords thing, just off the top of my head.
'He was Rasputin in a slim-fitting suit,' she writes of Trump's son-in-law, comparing him to the mystical and influential advisor to Czar Nicholas II of Russia before the 1917 revolution.
Hypnotizing the tsarina, causing the hemophiliac little prince to stop bleeding, that sort of thing. Killing him wasn't easy, and it only made him mad.
Grisham, a longtime Trump aide who later served as chief of staff to former first lady Melania Trump, writes that Kushner often took over meetings — even when Vice President Mike Pence was there — as the 'real' chief of staff.
"Jared, I'm busy with correcting Pelosi's spelling. How about going down there and stopping that meeting from turning into a clusterfornication?"
"Sure. What's the subject?"
"Peace in the Middle East."
"Okay. I can't make it come out any worse than John Kerry did, can I?"
"Heh heh. Good one!"

But she and Melania Trump also sometimes dissed Javanka as 'the interns' for their tendency to jump into all manner of subjects in the White House. 'When I worked for the first lady in the East Wing, we had all come to call Jared and Ivanka "the interns" because they represented in our minds obnoxious, entitled know-it-alls,' writes Grisham in her new book, I'll Take Your Questions Now, with her musings on Javanka excerpted in Politico.
Is it just me, or does she sound like a "obnoxious, entitled know-it-all?"
Their involvement became problematic in the early days of the pandemic, as the White House struggled to come up with a policy and a communications response. 'Mrs. Trump found that nickname amusing and occasionally used it herself. Now, during one of the most important crises to hit the country in a century, the interns were behaving true to form,' she writes.
Ahah! Having ideas, were they? Tusk tusk, as the elephant once said.
'It was another example of Jared sticking his nose into things that weren’t his expertise.'
As far as I know, no one had expertise in COVID except the Chinese at that time.
One clash came in March, after the World Health Organization had declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Top aides were debating a partial travel ban — and whether Trump should address the nation to convey the seriousness of the pandemic. Grisham invited herself to one of the meetings as, she writes, 'just "happened" all the time.'
So lemme get this straight: Jared and Ivanka weren't supposed to go, but the first lady's social secretary was?
Dr. Anthony Fauci
...American epidemiologist with rotating opinions, warnings about the unlikely, and reassurances that if you wear a mask you won't get COVID, as long as you're wearing multiple masks, assuming wearing a mask is necessary in the first place...
and Dr. Deborah Birx were there, and advisors pitched closing the nation's borders to travelers from Europe. Another topic was whether Trump should speak to the nation amid growing alarm.
Okay. That's the setup.
'In the middle of all the discussion, Ivanka kept chiming in, "But I think there should probably be an address to the nation tonight." I let that pass because in my mind there was no way we could pull one off with no speech prepared, no communications strategy, no consensus on anything we had just started discussing, and only a few hours’ notice,' writes Grisham. 'We did a lot of random things in Trump World, but that just seemed too crazy even for us.'
Trump could wing it, and shutting down the borders is a big thing, outside of Democrat World.
Aides clashed over whether the nation should close borders (although the initial policy would take hits for being inconsistent). 'Finally, Ivanka turned to her most powerful ally besides her father. "Jared, don’t you agree?" Any guesses as to what Jared replied?' Grisham writes.
"I agree, honey. Bite my ass, Grisham. And ditch the telephone. The Washington Post is closed this time of night."
She had her own doubts about a presidential address
Who did? Grisham or Ivanka?
— but admits she didn't share them at the time. 'In my mind I kept saying, "This is not a reality TV show.
Jab at Trump there. Missed him by that much.
We cannot address the nation with a bunch of mumbo jumbo just so he looks presidential. That’s not how this works,' she wrote.
No. It wasn't a reality teevee show. The lives of millions were on the line. Or so we thought at the time.
And Ivanka, the women’s rights / small-business / crisis communications / and now Covid expert, just kept repeating, "There should be an address from the Oval."
Like she actually believed it or something.
Trump told aides to 'figure out what to do,' according to Grisham. That led to more interventions by the president's daughter, writes Grisham. Both Jared and Ivanka served as unpaid senior advisors to the president. 'Ivanka was also doing her "my father" wants this and "my father" thinks that routine, making it impossible for staff members to argue a contrary view,' she wrote.
Maybe because they had already discussed it with him before arriving at the meeting? When I was a chief of staff that's the way we did it, if it wasn't on a subject we'd already argued to death and come to an agreement.
She was 'outraged' by Kushner's behavior because 'he was not an expert' on borders, the economy, or health consequences of the moves Trump would announce.
He seemed to be on the Middle East. I understand he's a quick study. And I'll betcha he was way more of an expert on borders than the first lady's social secretary.
'After he wrote the speech, there was no time for fact-checking, vetting, or notifying friends and allies on the Hill or abroad. There was hardly any time for the president to read it and make changes to it. It was a total clusterf*** from start to finish because Ivanka and her crew wanted her father to be on TV.'
There's always that danger when you have to do things on short notice. If Roosevelt had waited for his staffniks to work over his December 7th, 1941, speech they'd still be arguing, Roosevelt would be dead, and the nation left of the Mississippi would be speaking Japanese. Und der rrright zide vould be shpeaking Cherman!
'And of course the speech that night contained a number of misstatements and sloppy wording,' she wrote. But when Trump's speech and delivery led to some confusion and required cleanup, it didn't weight down the power couple. 'No, they were in the dining room off of the Oval Office, Trump’s usual hangout, congratulating themselves and telling the president how awesome he was.'
Maybe they were expressing their opinions?
Grisham quit the White House after the Capitol riot Jan. 6th.
That was... just just two weeks before Biden's inauguration, right?
Neither Ivanka Trump nor Jared Kushner have commented on the book, although former President Trump trashed it in a statement that went after Grisham's personal life (she previously dated former Trump White House aide Max Miller).
It would have been unlike Trump not to swat at an annoying insect.
'Stephanie didn't have what it takes and that was obvious from the beginning. She became very angry and bitter after her break up and as time went on she was seldom relied upon, or even thought about. She had big problems and we felt that she should work out those problems for herself. Now, like everyone else, she gets paid by a radical left-leaning publisher to say bad and untrue things,' Trump said in a statement through his spokeswoman.
So Max Miller broke her widdle heart and she took her troubles to work with her?
The ex-press secretary also recalled how Trump insisted his penis was not shaped like a toadstool - responding to comments made by porn star Stormy Daniels.
Easy enough to prove, but that would have led to a really long chapter titled "The President Drops His Drawers." Right or wrong, he would lose..
Daniels wrote in a 2018 book on her affair with the former president: 'I lay there, annoyed that I was getting f***ed by a guy with Yeti pubes and a d*** like the mushroom character in Mario Kart.'
Well, that certainly sounds tasteful. Or tasty, if you're Stormy Daniels, represented by a Creepy Porn Lawyer©.
Trump, upon hearing the allegation, called his press secretary from Air Force one to assure her his penis was neither small nor shaped like a toadstool, Grisham said.
"Boss," the press secretary replied, "you're trying to make me squirt coffee come out my nose, aren't you?"
Grisham also wrote that the former president once asked her former boyfriend, Miller, if she was good in bed.
"No. Why do you ask, boss?"
"I just noticed how fond she is of mushrooms and toadstools!"

The Daniels affair, Grisham wrote, 'unleashed' Melania's vengeance as she began trying to contradict her husband in public.
I'm sure her press secretary would be the first person my wife would tell if it was she and it was I...
The first lady told Grisham she didn't believe her husband's denials.
"Well, it is kinda stubby, and the head's twice the size of the rest of it... Maybe more like an umbrella, only without the curvy handle?"
When Grisham drafted a tweet requesting privacy at the time of the affair, saying that Melania would focus on being a first lady, wife and mother, the first lady asked Grisham to scrub the tweet of the word 'wife.'
"What should I call it?"
"I don't know! Rearrange the furniture or something! An idea will come to you!"

Trump continued the womanizing behavior he was known for as a brash Manhattan real estate tycoon at the White House, Grisham revealed, writing that he repeatedly invited a young press aide to his Air Force One cabin - one time to look at her behind.
Trump is my age., which ain't young. I can sympathize with him a lot more than I can with a woman who tells tales, true or not, out of school.
'A couple of times I came close to telling Mrs. Trump about the president's behavior. I thought that if she would say one little word to him about it, she could make it stop. But I could never bring myself to say anything,' Grisham wrote.
She could have titled her book "The Cowardly Cow."
Ultimately, she was too 'chickens***' to tell the then-first lady or 'maybe it wasn't my place or any of my business,' she noted.
Didn't want to lose her job before she was absolutely sure it was gone.
And she reveals Melania Trump may still not know about the former president's behavior.
"And why not?"
"Moo!"

Grisham revealed in her book that the former president took 'an unusual interest in a young, highly attractive press wrangler on my team.'
There are lots of girls I find uncommonly pretty. Looking isn't the same as touching. If you want touching, look in Delaware at the other end of the state from where I live.
She details what she called inappropriate behavior by Trump and noted she tried to protect the staffer, who she doesn't name.
Monica?
Grisham writes Trump would tell her to put the staffer 'on TV. Keep her happy, promote her.'
Implying it was Kayleigh McEnany, who should sue her for libel.
Trump, a former reality TV star, consider being on TV a great compliment and hired some of his staff and lawyers based on their appearances on Fox News. Grisham also reveals that on one Air Force One trip Trump asked that the staffer be brought to his cabin, saying: 'Let's bring her up here and look at her ass.' She said after that she tried to keep the staffer off trips: 'I needed to protect her and, frankly, the president as well.'
Never having seen either or both of Ms McEnany's buttocks, I couldn't say, but I can't think of a wittier and more solidly grounded press secretary. Certainly not Ms Grisham.

Boxing bouts fixed at 2016 Olympics, investigation finds
[APNEWS] Boxing bouts for medals at the 2016 Olympics were fixed by "complicit and compliant" referees and judges, an investigation reported on Thursday.

Investigator Richard McLaren was appointed by the International Boxing Association, known as AIBA, and found AIBA officials selected referees and judges to ensure that bouts could be manipulated in Olympic qualifying and at the Rio de Janeiro Games. He also found signs the 2012 Olympics in London were affected.

"Key personnel decided that the rules did not apply to them," said McLaren, who added there was a "culture of fear, intimidation and obedience in the ranks of the referees and judges."

There isn’t a final figure on how many fights could have been affected. The investigation identified "in the vicinity of 11, perhaps less, and that’s counting the ones that we know were manipulated, problem bouts or suspicious bouts," including fights for medals, McLaren said.

Egypt: Developing Sinai
It would be lovely if they would extend their services to treating Gaza’s wastewater, reducing the size of their traditional poo ponds.
[AlAhram] President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi’s opening of the world’s largest wastewater treatment plant boosts efforts to populate Sinai and increases Egypt’s water resources

On Monday, President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi inaugurated the world’s largest wastewater treatment plant. Bahr al-Baqar wastewater treatment plant, east of Port Said, will treat 5.6 million cubic metres per day which can then be used to irrigate agricultural land in Sinai.

Mohammed Ghanem, Irrigation Ministry spokesperson, said the plant aims to process two billion cubic metres of water annually "to contribute to the reclamation of between 400,00 and 500,000 feddans as part of the national project to develop Sinai and make optimal use of water resources".

"Egypt’s water resources are estimated at 60 billion cubic metres per year, 55 billion of which come from the River Nile and five billion from rain and underground sources, forcing the government to look for other sources. We are currently involved in building wastewater projects that will help process 20 billion cubic metres annually. Soon the Bahr al-Baqar station will be joined by al-Hammam station in the west of the Delta," said Ghanem. "While water treated by Bahr al-Baqar will irrigate Sinai, water processed by al-Hammam station will be used to irrigate lands around al-Natroun."

Tarek al-Rifaai, spokesperson of the Ministry of Housing and New Communities, revealed that 146 wastewater treatment projects with a combined daily capacity of 5.8 million cubic metres are currently under construction in Egypt.

"Egypt’s population is increasing rapidly. We desperately need water to meet the needs of this growing population and to irrigate as much agricultural land as possible."

Water treated by Bahr al-Baqar station will allow new agricultural, industrial and housing communities in Sinai to be developed, says Agricultural Syndicate head Sayed Khalifa. "The government is aiming to expand Egypt’s inhabited land from 14 to 17 per cent of the land mass, and most of this increase will be in Sinai. Water treated by Bahr al-Baqar will reach the peninsula through underground pipelines to reclaim land there."

President al-Sissi said on Monday that Egypt is in a race against time to double its water resources. He revealed that the cost of treating waste water to cultivate half a million feddans in Sinai will reach LE160 billion, which "will be covered by soft-term loans from Arab development funds."

Bahr al-Baqar was built by the Arab Contractors and Orascom Construction, and funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.

Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli said during Monday’s inauguration that projects to develop and populate Sinai have cost LE700 billion so far. "We are currently implementing 63 projects, the most important of which include the building of six underground tunnels to link Sinai with the rest of Egypt," said Madbouli. "These projects aim to put an end to Sinai’s isolation and make it a population magnet."

As part of this strategy, seawater desalination plants are being developed, which Madbouli described as "central to populating and developing Sinai". The plant currently being built at Arish, he added, will produce 300,000 cubic metres annually of desalinated water.

Populating Sinai is central to Egypt’s national security objectives, observed Madbouli, and the main vehicle for this is the National Project for Developing Sinai, one of the first initiatives launched by President al-Sissi following his election in 2014.

Major General Ihab al-Far, head of the Armed Forces’ Engineering Organisation, said the flow of water from Bahr al-Baqar to Sinai "will speed up the process of populating the peninsula".

He added that "the Armed Forces are participating in developing Sinai through two kinds of projects: building 34 seawater desalination stations to produce 442 million cubic metres of drinking water to meet the needs of the population of Sinai, and constructing 36 wastewater treatment stations to process 473 million cubic metres per year of water to irrigate agricultural lands."

Louie Gohmert shares reassuring update on jailed Marine after visit
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas said the Marine who was jailed after criticizing top military officials over the Afghanistan withdrawal "looks" and "sounds good" after the two met on Thursday.

The congressman traveled to North Carolina's Camp Lejeune, where Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller is being held, for a visit and later provided a status update to his parents on Sean Hannity's Fox News program.

"There are people in that brig that like Stu, and so please know that," Gohmert told Scheller's parents, who say they have not talked to their son since he was thrown in the brig on Monday, on Hannity.

Scheller garnered attention in August when he posted a video on social media calling for accountability from military leaders over the United States's pullout from Afghanistan. He later said he was "relieved from duty" after his comments went viral and that he expected to be jailed over it.

Scheller Jr. is currently in pretrial confinement as he awaits a hearing, which has not yet been scheduled. He has not been charged, but four charges will be considered during his hearing: Article 88 (contempt toward officials), Article 90 (willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer), Article 92 (failure to obey lawful general orders), and Article 133 (conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman).

Leading medical journal apologizes for referring to women as 'bodies with vaginas'
"Have y' shot manay Lancet covers, Uncle Reggie?"
[WASHINGTONTIMES] The editor of The Lancet, a leading medical journal in Britannia, has apologized for a pro-transgender cover about menstruation that referred to women as "bodies with vaginas."
"Oh, sorry 'n' all that! Meant to say 'creatures' with vaginas!"
Editor-in-chief Richard Horton issued the apology this week in response to blowback from feminist and medical groups against the journal’s effort to be inclusive of biologically born men who now identify as women.

"In this instance, we have conveyed the impression that we have dehumanized and marginalized women," Mr. Horton said in a statement. "Those who read The Lancet regularly will understand that this would never have been our intention."

Panjshir Officials Deny Targeted Killings in Province
[ToloNews] The deputy governor for Panjshir province, Malang Shah Rohullah, denied reports of assassinations of former military personnel in the province.

Speaking to TOLOnews, he added that the fighting has ended in Panjshir and the resistance front’s forces have no presence in the area right now.

TOLOnews news hound, Abdulhaq Omeri, visited Panjshir province reported that he has seen wreckage of destroyed and burned military equipment at the edge of roads, which indicates severe fighting between the Islamic Emirate and resistance front forces in Panjshir.

Panjshir's deputy governor further said that the Islamic Emirate is endeavoring to restart state offices for public services. He said: "In the first days, we heard of some disorders, then we started investigations which showed the reports were not correct. One day we received a report that seventeen people were killed in a place, we rapidly visited the area, and the report was not correct."

As the TOLOnews news hound arrived, several residents from Anaba district came to Panjshir’s center to share their problems with local officials.

"Military forces are in our valley, which causes fear. People cannot go to their homes or their farms to work. They have to leave the area," resident Rassol Khan told TOLOnews.

Several residents claimed that Islamic Emirate forces have searched people’s houses in the province and beat some of the residents.

"They told me that you are loyal to Ahmad Massoud, you are baking bread for them. Where are your weapons? Give them to us or we will kill you. Then, they searched my house and found nothing," said resident Imam Jan.

"They searched my house many times. They are coming all the time, in the night and during the day, saying we are under threat," another resident told TOLONews.

The Islamic Emirate’s local officials stated that three helicopters had been destroyed by resistance front’s forces, however the front’s forces have not commented on this.

Taliban tweet their military victories, I was censored during presidency: Trump to Twitter
[KhaamaPress] Former US President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
has asked a federal judge in Florida on Friday to ask Twitter to restore his account as the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
are allowed to tweet their military victories regularly but he was censored during his presidency, Rooters reported.

Donald Trump’s Twitter account which had 88 million followers was removed by the company in January citing a risk of incitement of violence.

Twitter had reasoned that Trump’s Tweets had violated the Platform’s policy and were highly likely to encourage people to replicate what happened in the Capitol riots.

The former US president has said in his request to the district court of Florida that the company (Twitter) was coerced by the members of the US Congress to suspend his account.

The closure of Trump’s account in several social media happened after his supporters stormed the US Capitol on January 6.

Twitter has not commented on Trump’s statements yet.

Islamabad Engages in Afghanistan-Hosted Talks With TTP
[ToloNews] Pakistain Prime Minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree...
said that his country seeks the support of the Islamic Emirate in peace talks with the Tehrik-e- Taliban
...Arabic for students...
of Pakistain.

After the collapse of the former government in Afghanistan, dozens of fighters related to the group Tahreek-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) were reportedly released as the forces of the Islamic Emirate broke into prisons and released inmates, including high-profile criminals and krazed killers.

Khan made the remarks in an interview with the Ottoman Turkish media outlet TRT World News on Friday.

"There are different groups which form the TTP and some of them want to talk to our government for peace. So, we are in talks with them. It's a reconciliation process," Khan said.

While asked if the Islamic Emirate was mediating the negotiations between the government of Pakistain and Pak Taliban, Khan said: "The talks were taking place in Afghanistan, so in that sense, yes."

The Islamic Emirate has yet to comment on the talks, but the Pak media quoted some sources within the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain as saying the group will not engage in negotiations with Islamabad.
On the other hand, a TTP leader in Waziristan Gul Bahadar has said that they are willing to a ceasefire for three weeks.

In the interview, Imran Khan said that he is willing to release the detained leaders of TTP in case they agree on a ceasefire.

Imran Khan has emphasized on negotiations and has said that he was the anti-military solution and believed political dialogue was the way ahead.

The Pakistani Taliban has increased their attacks on the Pakistani security forces and the Chinese nationals who are working on the CPEC project.

Militants airlifted missiles with toxic substances to Idlib
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] Terrorists from "Jabhat al-Nusra" delivered missiles with toxic substances to the front line in the Syrian provinces of Idlib and Hama. SANA reports this on October 2, citing sources.

It is noted that "foreign experts" helped the terrorists to equip the missiles with "chlorine and sarin", the weapons were delivered to several areas in the south of Idlib and the Al-Gab valley in the Hama province.

According to sources, the weapons that were transferred to their destinations in two ambulances belonging to the "White Helmets" could be used by terrorists to "accuse the Syrian army of using weapons prohibited by the international community."

As REGNUM reported , in July, Deputy Head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit said that the militants of the Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham group, also known as the name "Jabhat al-Nusra," they are preparing a staged chemical attack in the "Idlib" zone.

Most COVID-19 Patients at Israel Hospital Fully Vaccinated, Doctor Calls Mandates ‘Diabolic'
[visiontimes]The majority of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in an Israeli hospital are fully vaccinated, including those with severe disease, according to one of the hospital's doctors.

On Aug. 5, Dr. Kobi Haviv, medical director of Herzog Hospital in Jerusalem, said in a Channel 13 TV News interview, "95% of the severe patients are vaccinated." Furthermore, "85-90% of the hospitalizations are in fully vaccinated people" and the hospital is "opening more and more COVID wards."

‐ Ran Israeli (@RanIsraeli) August 5, 2021
The influx of vaccinated patients has led him to conclude that "the effectiveness of the vaccine is waning/fading out." The hospital's website states that the center is "Israel's foremost center for geriatric, respiratory, mental health and psychotrauma care, treatment and research. With 330 beds, Herzog Hospital is the third largest hospital in Jerusalem."

Of the 72 hospitalized COVID-19 patients, 25 patients were in "critical condition," 38 were in "moderate" condition, and 9 were in "mild" condition. There were 2 deaths reported at the time of the interview.

According to data from the Israeli Minister of Health released on July 22, the effectiveness of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at preventing COVID-19 has plummeted from 90 percent to only 39 percent, coinciding with the spread of the Delta variant in the country.

Xinhua.net reports, "the effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing severe coronavirus disease in Israel is currently estimated at 91.4 percent, and in preventing COVID-19 hospitalization, at 88 percent." However, critics have asked why the public should take a risk with experimental vaccines if early treatment with cheap and effective drugs such as ivermectin significantly reduce the risk of severe illness and death from COVID-19.

In Israel, since the start of the vaccination campaign on Dec. 20, 2020, 5.8 million residents, or about two-thirds of the population, have received one dose. Nearly 5.4 million have received the second dose, and 420,000 have received a third booster dose. As of Aug. 7, data from the Health Ministry showed the country had 31,736 active COVID-19 patients, with 545 hospitalized, 324 seriously ill, and 71 in critical condition.

Mandatory vaccines ‘diabolic'
A slough of vaccine mandates worldwide has led citizens to protest in the streets and doctors to speak out. Sister Dirde Byrne, MD, a retired U.S. Army officer and graduate from Georgetown University School of Medicine, shared her thoughts in a LifeSiteNews interview published on Aug. 5.

She said, "This battle is not between the right and the left, it's not between conservatives and liberals or Republicans and Democrats." Rather, "this is a battle between Our Lord and the devil," and every person must choose a side.

Byrne became a sister with the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts in Washington, D.C. after completing her medical training and serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. She is board-certified in both family medicine and general surgery, is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, is currently the medical director of the Little Workers' Physical Therapy and Eye Clinic, and volunteers as a surgeon for the Catholic Charities Medical Clinic in D.C.

As a veteran who served in Korea and Egypt, and a missionary surgeon who traveled to Haiti, Sudan, Kenya, and Iraq, she told the media outlet that "‘common sense' preventive measures and therapeutic drugs can sharply reduce hospitalizations and deaths for patients with COVID-19."

She said, "If we treat them early – early is the ticket – with ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, 80% of the people will not have to go to the hospital." The use of cheap, early, and effective treatments largely obviates the need for vaccination, given that hospitalization can be avoided in the majority of cases without exposure to experimental COVID-19 vaccines with unknown long-term effects.

With regard to mandated vaccination, Byrne said, "That's the shame of it all, that because this is an emergency mandate of vaccination, they're trying to push it on everybody." Since emergency vaccination is only necessary if there is a lack of effective therapeutics, pharmaceutical companies and stakeholders are incentivized to censor information about treatments.

"We have therapy, and it's proven therapy, and the powers-that-be, the government leaders here in the states, are ignoring this data." She states that a common practice since the start of the pandemic has been to send patients home with a positive COVID-19 test until they become sick enough to require hospitalization, without ever being offered safe and effective drugs.

Requiring COVID-19 jabs has become a way to exercise "total control" over people. "They want to force an experimental compound that we really don't know the long-term effects [of]. Then they want to, on top of that, make sure everyone has a [vaccine] passport. So, it's total control of a populace. And that's communism. We're headed that way," she said.

#1  In Israel, COVID is fast becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated: Of the 644 patients in serious condition on Tuesday, 73 percent were from the small population of eligible Israelis who had not received any shots

Herzog is a geriatric facility (70 +): among people in that group age some didn't get booster, and others don't have immune system to vaccinate - they are his patients*. And, we already know that The effectiveness of the vaccine is waning/fading out - therefore the booster shots.

You anti-vaxxer zealots just don't get the message.
Pfizer & Moderna don't need you to make money - there are 8 billion people outside USA, and most of them would be happy to pay 40$ for vaccination (even the ones for whom 40$ is a major part of their early income).

*And the institutions they come from will pay for employing non-vaccinated personnel.

#3  Promoting new variants is the result. They want to patient new variants as novel viruses to make the big bucks. So the show must go on indefinitely. A daily pill. Boosters mandated ad infinitum. Obama named this correctly, the new normal. The dog chasing his tail. One bright spot is a huge money maker for a select few. Wealth handed down generation after generation.
One requirement, money must marry money as they do now.

#5  The nurse pictured is a perfect example of what people demanded of others during the eight year Spanish flu years. They shamed others as they do now. The results are never reported but 80% of those using masks died. A much higher death rate but numbers unknown for unmasked as they were never considered worthy of reporting. Perhaps only in the main numbers of flu victims. In one small community where there were no medical trained people available a family of three took care of their Spanish flu infected neighbors. Mother required each drink a full glass of water with a teaspoon of baking soda before venturing out. No masks, all home care chores done for each family of need. Result, Mother, father and daughter never got ill upon repeated exposure. Those who lived as children at the time spoke of horse drawn wagons as far as the eye could see loaded with victims of the flu.

#8  Meanwhile here at home Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS)is overwhelmed. Less than 1% are being reported after review at this site. Then “Do you want to know why 14 days is important?” he asked. “Because if you die with 14 days, you’re not considered vaccinated.” According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one is not considered as being “vaccinated” until 14 days after their completed injection regimen, raising the question of whether government authorities have been classifying these fatalities as something other than vaccination-related deaths." Then, "of approximately 59.4 million Medicare beneficiaries. One slide showed that the number of “persons who died within 14 days of a COVID-19 vaccine” equated to 19,400 for those younger than 81 years old, and 28,065 for those 81 and over, totaling 48,465 deaths."

#10  We do get the message, loud and clear. Your panic and visceral response is out of control. You have the vaccine take the third and fourth booster and be on your way. Stop the belittling and outright hate. We in America, or did you forget where we are, live our lives as we see fit. We dont lock up smokers, who are killing themselves, or drinkers. We allow the murder of unborn babies, we allow the homeless to spread hepA and god know what else. All because we believe in personal liberties and freedom of choice. You believe the vaccine is the way, OK, take it, keep taking it, I dont care. Its your choice. Just leave the folks that dont want it alone and stop with the bigoted approach.

In the USA we are being told that at the end of Sept. 2021, roughly 75+/-% of Targeted age groups of Americans have been VAX'd.

The Mayo Clinic VAX Data breaks it down further, citing the 50 to 100 year ago age group data. This being the most prone age group to HOSPITALIZATION and /or DEATH from infection. That shows us 73.3% to 80+% have been VAX'd in that extremely vulnerable age group.

Yet according to the US Official claimed numbers, the USA continues to be #1 for total weekly Infections & Deaths for the last 7 days and the preceding 7 days to that also. Despite the USA being #3 in the world for population per nation. Beating out CHINA and INDIA each with roughly 4x's the population of the USA?

So basic math logic just is not adding up here.
Either "Official Numbers", in the way they are being present is in error, or the current mRNA VAX protection wears off much quicker than we are being told, or the detection tests of Infection are running a high False Positive rate or a combination of the list and something else?

BTW: The doctor told my wife to get a Flu Shot (she has not since has the 1980's Swine Flu and has never had the flu??)

But what was strange was the way the doctor added....
IF and When it becomes available?

Is there a shortage of FLU Vaccine?

Jihadist chief, 18 fighters killed in Mozambique: SADC
[AlAhram] A local jihadist leader and 18 rebels were killed during a military strike on their base in Mozambique's insurgency-hit north, a bloc of southern African nations said Saturday.

Al-Qaeda-linked jihadists have been terrorising Mozambique's gas-rich Cabo Delgado region since 2017, raiding villages and towns in a bid to establish a caliphate.

Local jihadist leader Rajab Awadhi Ndanjile was killed along with 18 other fighters in an offensive on September 25 on the turbans' base in the Nangade district of Cabo Delgado, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) regional grouping said.

Many members of the 16-nation bloc have deployed troops in Mozambique to fight the holy warriors.

SADC said Ndanjile recruited and indoctrinated fighters and was involved in the first attack in the region and "subsequent attacks on villages" as well as the "abduction of women and kiddies".

In July, Rwanda sent 1,000 troops to Mozambique, the first country to do so. Several other SADC members followed suit.

South Africa has deployed nearly 1,500 soldiers in the neighbouring country.

The insurgency has killed more than 3,300 people -- half of them civilians -- and displaced at least 800,000 from their homes over the past four years.

Afghan interpreters who worked for the Dutch summoned by Taliban: TV
[AlAhram] Afghan interpreters who worked for the Netherlands have been summoned to appear in court by the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
who have threatened their families, Dutch public television NOS reported on Friday

The interpreters are in hiding but their family members will be held responsible if they fail to show up in court "and severely punished to teach other traitors a lesson," said a letter from the Taliban, which was aired by the broadcaster.

NOS said the recipient, who worked for the EU's policing agency Europol in Afghanistan, was accused of taking "dishonourable and forbidden money" from foreigners.

"We will take Dire Revenge. If we are not able to get hold of you, we will settle scores with your near ones," said another letter to an interpreter whom the Taliban accused of being responsible for the deaths of some of their fighters.

All indications show that the letters, which bear official seals, were despatched by the Taliban, NOS said.

It said it had contacted about 10 interpreters or people who had worked for the Dutch and who all said their situation was becoming increasing difficult.

The Taliban in June urged interpreters who had worked for foreign forces to repent but urged them to stay on in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of foreign forces and assured them they would not be harmed.

Just after taking power, the Taliban declared a general amnesty for Afghan government and military officials.

But despite their pledges not to avenge themselves, a confidential United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
report said the Taliban were tracking down people who worked with foreign forces.

Home Front: Politix
Report: Nancy Pelosi Offers Far-Left $2.1 Trillion Reconciliation Package
[BREITBART] House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
(D-CA) reportedly offered the radical House Democrats a price tag of $2.1 trillion for the reconciliation package, down from $3.5 trillion but more expensive than Sen. Joe Manchin
...Dem senator-for-life from West Virginia. Manchin is one of the approximately one Dem senators who exhibits more integrity than Jello, often even representing his constituents...
’s (D-WV) topline of $1.5 trillion. The offered package to the House Democrats includes items such as child care, paid leave, health care, and climate change, according to Politico Playbook.
Don't settle for less, ya commie bastards. Stay strong. And you too, Joe! Stalemate is our best option at this point
The offer presents which measures may survive the trimmed but still large package and which measures may be removed. "For instance, there was no mention of things like free community college or affordable housing or even Bernie Sanders
...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being an Independent socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
’ prized expansion of Medicare to offer dental, vision and hearing benefits," Playbook reports.

The reported compromise is still far outside Manchin’s $1.5 trillion topline number that he divulged Thursday on a signed piece of paper. The signed document in July is an agreement between Manchin and Sen. Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 45.82540 years, or 320.7778 years in dog years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
(D-NY), which outlined that the reconciliation package would be $1.5 trillion with debate on the package beginning no later than October 1.

#1  This is more like their actual target. The 3.5T was just an inflated starting bid that they knew would never be accepted allowing them to 'compromise' down to this 2.1 (or slightly lower) boondoggle.
Next their 'opponents' (Both D and too many R) will swallow their pride and accept this 'at least its lower then 3.5T' offer. Which is what everyone wanted all along. They might even slip in a few 'Election Reform' provisions in the mix...

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Mural painted in Umm al-Fahm honors terrorists who hailed from city
[IsraelTimes] Father of cop murdered by resident of town in 2017 Temple Mount attack demands painting be dealt with; Arab MKs heckled at October 2000 memorial event for being part of coalition.

A mural recently painted on a wall in the city of Umm al-Fahm honors residents of the town who carried out a terror attack in Jerusalem’s Old City in 2017, killing two coppers.

On July 14, 2017, the three Arab Israeli men — Mohammed Ahmed Mafdal Jabrin, Mohammed Hamed Abed Eltif Jabrin and Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed Jabrin — shot up coppers Haiel Sitawe, 30, and Kamil Shnaan, 22, at one of the entrances to the Temple Mount, killing them. Other officers at the scene returned fire, killing the three attackers.

The mural depicts the perpetrators of the attack, as well as two other men, one of which was identified as Ahmed Muhammad Mahameed, who attempted to stab a policeman in Jerusalem in 2018 and was rubbed out.

Under the men’s faces, the artist wrote, "Tomorrow’s smile will be wider," quoting what two of the attackers posted to Facebook hours before the killings.

Kamil Shnaan’s father, former Labor MK Shachiv Shnaan, told Kan news that he was outraged to learn of the mural honoring his son’s murderers and had appealed to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to ensure that it was removed.

"It is inconceivable that we lose illusory sovereignty in the country," he said. "I demand that this wall be eliminated."

Kan reported that police were probing the matter.

Umm al-Fahm Mayor Samir Mahamid told the network that the mural had been painted on a private home, but "we are checking with our legal adviser how we can act."

On Thursday, Bennett postponed a planned trip to the town to promote vaccination set for Friday morning. The coalition’s Ra’am party claimed that the decision was due to the anniversary of the October 2000 riots in which 13 Arab Israeli demonstrators were killed in festivities with police at the start of the Second Intifada.

Bennett denied that this was the cause, saying that the visit was canceled due to planned demonstrations and security considerations, and Ra’am leader Mansour Abbas himself subsequently issued a Hebrew statement refuting the claim of his party.

Two Arab members of the coalition were heckled Saturday while attending a memorial event for those killed in the October 2000 events.

Activists at the Nazareth memorial shouted at Iman Khatib-Yasin (Ra’am) and Ghaida Rinawie Zoabi (Meretz) that they should be "ashamed" of being part of the government, while some accused them of being "Zionists," Channel 12 reported.

Residence of Grand Duke Romanov to be restored in Tashkent
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] As part of the implementation of the policy of preserving the unique cultural and historical heritage pursued by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev , a project is being implemented to restore the former residence of Prince Romanov. Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakomov told reporters on October 2.

"This is a unique project, which is being carried out under the patronage of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, international professionals in the field of architecture and restoration are involved in i," Abdukhakimov said.

According to him, the main goal of the project is to preserve this unique architectural monument and the adjacent park area for future generations.

"The palace will be recreated in its original form, in the form that existed at the time of its first owner. A lot of archival documents and photographs have been studied. Return the previous decor elements, ramp, park sculpture. In addition to marble and bronze sculptures that once adorned the residence, 120 pieces of painting and graphics, 20 pieces of furniture will return there," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Abdukhakimov noted that the main focus of the project will be the creation of an exhibition space in the former residence of Romanov, open to the public, as well as intended for social and cultural events.

The Palace of the Grand Duke was built in 1891 in the contemporary Art Nouveau style by the architects Benoit and Heinzelman. The graceful two-story building is decorated with carved lattices, unusual-shaped windows, towers and other decorative elements. The palace housed a library, a greenhouse and a winter garden.

Nat'l Teachers Union Prez Panicked DeSantis Will Trigger Flight To Private Schools
[DAILYWIRE] The powerful head of the American Federation of Teachers, Randi Weingarten, is apparently panicked that the policies of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will trigger parents to pluck their children out of public schools, where Weingarten and her ilk can inculcate their leftist messaging, and place them in private schools instead.
She doesn't seem to want to fix the problem by having her members stick to teaching and dump the politix.
On Thursday, Weingarten referencing an article in the leftist The New Republic that attacked DeSantis for his policies, tweeted, “This isn’t just about masks or about Governor DeSantis’ political aspirations. It’s about the complete destabilization of public education so that parents will choose private schools.”

The New Republic had huffed, “Florida’s recent struggles over masks in schools augur a terrifying shift in the right’s approach to education policy,” then quickly gave a salient reason for the Left’s panic:

#1  Please - she's trying to blame DeSantis for this? They did this to themselves because they were too fuckin' stupid, greedy and shortsighted to figure out this would backfire on them. CRT's the cherry on top of the shit sundae they're now eating.

#2  ^Don't worry about teachers promoting CRT. Worry about math teachers not being able to teach math - because they don't know any beyond rote memorization, science teachers who only talk about global warming, and English teachers who are functionally illiterate.

#3  Death spiral for government schools.

If they can't enroll more than 60-70 percent of the school-aged population, many schools will have to lay off teachers and other staff, which will reduce the range of academic offerings and extracurricular activities they can provide -- which in turn makes the school less attractive to parents who actually care about academic excellence.

Who then choose charters, or private schools or homeschools, and on the downward cycle goes

China-Japan-Koreas
3 Warfares Doctrine Underpins CCPs Sprawling Campaign to Infiltrate the West
[Outline] Psychological warfare. Public opinion warfare. Legal warfare.

Known as the "three warfares" doctrine and relatively unknown in the West, these concepts serve as key strategies guiding the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in its quest to win a war against the free world without firing a single shot.

Psychological warfare seeks to demoralize the enemy; public opinion warfare seeks to shape the hearts and minds of the masses; legal warfare seeks to use systems of law to deter enemy attacks.

This explanation was set out in a recently released 650-page report that provides a comprehensive illustration of the Chinese communist regime’s global influence operations. The French-language report was published by the Institute for Strategic Studies of Military Schools (IRSEM), an independent agency affiliated with the French Ministry of Armed Forces.

Combined with another key CCP doctrine called "United Front" work, these principles have undergirded a breathtaking campaign by the Chinese regime to expand its influence and infiltration into Western democracies, the report stated.

United Front, described by the CCP’s first leader Mao Zedong as a "magic weapon," is a policy that, according to the report, involves the regime “eliminating its internal and external enemies, controlling groups that may challenge its authority, building a coalition around the Party to serve its interests, and projecting its influence abroad.”

The report comes amid rising pushback from the West against CCP aggressions, including its severe human rights abuses, rampant theft of intellectual property, economic coercion, and military assertiveness.

IS claims responsibility for gunning down Sikh in Pakistan
[AlAhram] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group has grabbed credit for killing a member of Pakistain's minority Sikh community earlier in the week in the northwestern city of Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistain's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire...
An IS statement issued late Friday described Satnam Singh, 45, as ``polytheist'' and said he was rubbed out by IS members.

Pak officials have denied any organized IS presence in the country but the bully boy group has claimed a number of attacks on security forces, mosques, political rallies and religious minorities in recent years.

Police said Singh was bumped off Thursday in Peshawar, the scenic provincial capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan. The button men expeditiously departed at a goodly pace.

Singh, an herbalist, had lived in the city for the past 20 years and ran a small clinic selling herbal medicine.

The assailants shot up Singh inside the clinic, according to Sardar Harpal Singh, a local community leader. He denounced the incident and demanded the arrest of those involved in the killing. The two are not related.

The majority of Sikhs migrated from what is now Pakistain to neighboring India in 1947, the year British rule of the subcontinent ended and Pakistain was created as a homeland for Moslems in the region. Thousands of them stayed in Pakistain, where they generally live peacefully. But isolated attacks on religious minorities including Sikhs have continued.

Several political factions including ex-rebel groups announce the formation of an alliance separate from Sudan’s main civilian bloc
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The announcement at a ceremony in Khartoum came as Sudan reels from fragmentation within the Forces of Freedom and Change, an alliance which spearheaded protests that ousted president Omar al-Bashir in April 2019.

Sudan has since August 2019 been run by an administration of military generals and civilians from the FFC through a rocky transition marked by economic woes.

Splits have deepened within the FFC in recent months, and support for the transitional government led by Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok has waned in large part due to a raft of tough economic reforms.

Saturday’s ceremony included political parties as well as the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) faction led by Mini Minawi and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) of Gibril Ibrahim.

“We want a united FFC,” Minawi said during the ceremony.

“We urge the people on your side who pretend they are from the FFC to sit with us and listen to us,” he added, addressing both the head of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the prime minister.

Hamdok did not attend Saturday’s ceremony.

In early September, he was at the signing ceremony for an alliance of other factions within the FFC that also called for unity, calling it a “step in the right direction.”

Neither Minawi nor Ibrahim took part in that signing.

In October last year, Minawi’s SLM faction and Ibrahim’s JEM were among rebel groups that signed a peace deal with the government to end long-running conflicts under Bashir.

Minawi was named governor of western Sudan’s war-ravaged Darfur region in May, while Ibrahim was appointed finance minister last February.

On September 21, the government announced thwarting a coup attempt by military officers and civilians who it said were linked to Bashir’s regime.

The country has been grappling with protests in east Sudan by key tribes opposed to the October peace deal.

Protests have also erupted in major cities including Khartoum condemning the military coup attempt and calling for civilian rule.

Ohio's DeWine, Others Consider Redistricting Map that Would Eliminate Jim Jordan's District
[BREITBART] Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, state auditor Keith Faber, and Secretary of State Frank LaRose are considering offering and adopting a redistricting map ahead of the 2022 midterm elections that would be overly beneficial and lopsided toward helping Democrats retain their U.S. House majority, Breitbart News has learned.

Two senior Republican officials briefed on the proposal before its expected introduction next week told Breitbart News that DeWine, Faber, and LaRose are considering drawing a number of pro-Trump Republicans into Democrat-leaning districts as part of retaliation against former President Donald Trump, who the three establishment GOP leaders dislike. The two senior Republicans briefed on the plan told Breitbart News they believe this retaliation from DeWine and others is an effort to steer the GOP away from Trump, who won the the state of Ohio by huge margins in both 2016 and 2020, because they do not like the direction the party is currently going.

The map currently under consideration, these GOP officials said, could jeopardize as many as four or five GOP congressional districts in Ohio—a crushing blow to GOP efforts to retake the U.S. House majority. To retake the majority, Republicans currently need to flip a net five seats or more from Democrat hands into GOP hands in November next year—something that losing several seats in deep-red Ohio could seriously complicate.

A GOP source who has seen the map that DeWine as of now intends to introduce next week told Breitbart News that it would eliminate the district of Trump stalwart Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), pushing it entirely into deep-blue Columbus, Ohio, the state capital, instead.

The map DeWine is planning to introduce would also pit Reps. Mike Turner (R-OH) and Warren Davidson (R-OH) against each other, drawing both of them into a Dayton-based district. This is because Ohio lost a congressional district in reapportionment after the 2020 U.S. Census. But instead of eliminating a Democrat-held district, the DeWine team is, per this Republican familiar with the map, planning to pit two Republicans against each other.

“This would be Speaker Pelosi’s dream map in Ohio and severely impact Republicans’ chances at retaking the House majority,” a senior GOP aide told Breitbart News.

There remains time to stop DeWine’s efforts to help Pelosi and Democrats keep their majority with this unfair and lopsided map, though, as they have yet to publicly introduce it. If conservatives voice their concerns to the governor and raise issue with it and pressure him to change his ways and stop helping Democrats out of spite for Trump, it is possible he could reverse course.

Afghanistan
Turkish Red Crescent Sending Aid to Feed Displaced Afghans
[ToloNews] The Ottoman Turkish Red Islamic Thingy is sending aid to Afghanistan to feed internally displaced people in need amid turmoil following the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
’s takeover, the organization’s head said on Friday.

Half a million people have been displaced in Afghanistan in recent months, according to U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, a number which would grow if health services, schools and the economy break down.

Ottoman Turkish Red Islamic Thingy President Kerem Kinik said the shipment of food would be sent from Pakistain towards Kabul on Saturday and provide for 16,000 people for a month.

"There is a serious food crisis right now. Public order needs to be provided for local production," he told Rooters by telephone, citing a halt in international trade, drought and a decline in international aid as reasons for the problem.

He said the Ottoman Turkish Red Islamic Thingy had provided support to areas under Taliban control before U.S. troops pulled out and there had been no problem in providing aid after the withdrawal.

"The Taliban appointed an authority to the head of the Afghan Red Islamic Thingy for the transition process," he said, adding that they were cooperating to bring humanitarian aid to Afghans.

The Ottoman Turkish Red Islamic Thingy had provided some $250,000 since 2018 to Afghans who established their own businesses after returning to the country and would increase the amount, he said.

Erdogan’s political support has taken a hit over the large refugee presence in Turkey and he has said he will not allow Afghanistan’s turmoil to be an excuse to turn his country into a "migrant storage unit" for the European Union.

Ottoman Turkish authorities are building a wall along the eastern border and stepping up patrols to intercept migrants colonists.
