All those draconian measures are failing...
[ZH] As governments around the world begin instituting Covid-19 'passports' which will dictate the level of participation one is afforded within society - regardless of naturally acquired immunity or actual risk to the public from the unvaccinated (considering that the majority of transmission occurs in the home), people have begun to push back against authoritarian tactics to control privileges and push vaccines.
In America, the 'my body, my choice' crowd has suddenly invented conditions for their own mantra.
Of course, some will have explanations for how this is all wrong. "Lies! All lies!"
Regardless of how well vaccination rates and lockdowns actually work.

-Great Cultural Revolution
The Clock Is Ticking on the Decline & Fall of America
[PJ] In the year 410, Alaric, the leader of the Visigoths, attacked Rome and succeeded in sacking it. Rome had been battling with enemies for years along its far-flung borders, and in some cases had admitted some of these people into the empire. But Alaric and his army did what many Romans thought was unthinkable: entered the city itself. The invasion was blamed by some on the rise of Christianity and a shift away from the ancient traditions and gods. This moved Augustine to write "The City of God," in which he argued that Rome was suffering retribution for its past sins and unrighteousness, not because of the rising religion. The city would be hit again by the Vandals in 455, before finally falling in 476 to Germanic tribes.

#2  Number Crunching The Provided VAERS Data

ADVERSE REACTIONS
USA Covi-19 Vaccine (Dec’2020 – present)= 593,728
ALL USA OTHER VACCINES TOGETHER (since 1990)= 723,780.
Note: 11 months vs. 30 years

Using these figures and multiplying the Covid-19 Vaccine out over 30 years.
Would mean we could expect 17,811,840 Adverse Reactions for just the Covid-19 Vaccine alone. While there have been only 723,780 for ALL other vaccines together over the same equal time frame.

A 2,360.9% increase in Adverse Reactions for just the Covid-19 Vaccine, vs ALL OTHER vaccines put together.

Doing the same with DEATHS caused by Covid-19 Vaccine, vs. all others over a 30 year period is even worse.

Covid-19 Vaccine Deaths (30 x 7,437) = 223,110
Vs. all Other Vaccines deaths over the last 30 years = 5,129

It seems to mean taking the Covid-19 Vaccine increase you chance of dying 4,249.9%
more likely, than taking ALL OF THE OTHER Vaccines together. But in all honesty I
must add the VAST MAJORITY of those dying are in the Elderly age groups like
myself.
>Note: According to the the charts most deaths happen within 2 days of Covid-19 vaccination.

BTW: As some may remember what I said about 9 or so months ago...
That I'll wait an see the what the long term data affects are BEFORE getting VAX'd.

regarding price, except for a spike in Feb 2021, due to the Arctic weather in the south, the US price of natural gas has also remained stable

this is not the case with oil where the price is up about 40% in 2021; coal prices are also up in the US but I can't get a recent precise figure

Guatemala: Police rescue 126 migrants trapped in a roadside container
[DW] Most of the migrants colonists were from Haiti and they had hoped to arrive in the US but instead would now be dropped off at the Honduras frontier. The US continues to deport thousands of migrants colonists back to Haiti.

Guatemalan police said Saturday they had discovered 126 US-bound migrants colonists, mainly from Haiti, trapped inside an abandoned shipping container in the south of the country.

Residents raised the alarm after hearing screams from inside the container that was located on a trailer on the side of the road between the towns of Nueva Concepcion and Cocales.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MIGRANTS COLONISTS?
Police officers were quickly on the scene to investigate the suspicious container.

"We heard cries and knocks coming from inside the container. We opened the doors and found inside 126 undocumented people: 106 from Haiti, 11 from Nepal and nine from Ghana," police front man Jorge Aguilar said.

The migrants colonists were hoping to get to Mexico and then onto the US when their suspected people smugglers abandoned them to their fate.

Police then gave them first aid before escorting the migrants colonists to a shelter run by the Guatemalan Migration Institute (IGM).

The migrants colonists will now be transported to the Honduras frontier where they will be handed over to the authorities as this is from where they entered Guatemala.

WHY IS THERE SUCH A FLOOD OF MIGRANTS COLONISTS?
Following political instability, an earthquake and tropical floods, Haitians have been trying to reach the United States seeking a better life.

Guatemala borders Mexico, which is the main entry point to the US by land.

On Friday, Mexican authorities detained 652 migrants colonists, 355 of them minors, who were traveling on three trucks in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas, according to officials. The majority of them were from Guetemala, and included 197 minors traveling alone.

Thousands of migrants colonists, mostly from Haiti, have been making hazardous journeys across Central America in the past months to try to give themselves and their families a better life.

Since the start of 2021, over 50 of them died as they crossed jungle terrain in the Darien Gap in Panama, on the border with Colombia, according to Panama authorities.

Even if they make it to the US most of them face deportation, with 7,500 migrants colonists returned to Haiti on 70 chartered flights in three weeks, the International Organization for Migration reported Friday.

Ex-Israeli soldier attacked with irritant gas in Berlin
[DW] An ex-Israeli soldier was assaulted outside a train station in Berlin by unknown assailants, police said Saturday, calling it an antisemitic attack.
Muslim migrants colonists are known to hang around the main Berlin city center train station for the pleasure of harassing the natives — ditto for other city center train stations in Germany —but it isn’t clear from the article if this was Muslim Jew-hate, German Jew-hate, or some other group being fashionably antisemitic.
The 29-year-old man, a resident of Berlin, was wearing a pullover with the Israel Defense Forces logo when the incident took place on Friday evening.

He was approached by someone in the east of the German capital and was asked about his faith, the police said in a statement.

"Suddenly, (the attacker) sprayed irritant in his face and pushed him to the ground," they said.

The man was unable to tell whether it was a single assailant or several, who then expeditiously departed at a goodly pace.

He found help in a nearby store and was able to alert the police.

Authorities have opened an investigation into the incident on suspicion of "politically motivated bodily harm."

This week, German musician Gil Ofarim accused a Leipzig hotel of antisemitism, saying he was told to take off his Star of David pendant before being allowed to check in.

Earlier this month, antisemitic incidents were reported in the German capital during a football match between Union Berlin and Maccabi Haifa. A group of people holding Israeli flags in close proximity to the away section said they had experienced antisemitic abuse from some Union Berlin fans.

Germany has also seen a rise in antisemitic hate crimes in recent years. The latest government figures showed the number of registered cases of attacks and hate crimes hitting a new upward trend in 2020. Authorities logged 2,275 such crimes until the end of January 2021 — the highest number of antisemitic hate crimes since German police started collecting data on "politically motivated criminality" in 2001.
Update from The Times of Israel at 12:30 p.m. ET:
The assault took place Friday evening outside the Noeldnerplatz commuter train station in an eastern district of Berlin.

Arab League Welcomes Withdrawal of Foreign Forces from Libya
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Saturday, the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
welcomed the signing of a long-awaited Action Plan to withdraw mercenaries and foreign forces from Libya, after years of fighting between warring factions across the oil-rich country. The so-called 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) announced that it had signed a comprehensive Action Plan. This will be the cornerstone for the gradual, balanced, and sequenced process of the withdrawal of mercenaries, imported muscle and foreign forces from Libyan territory.

In press statements, an official source in the General Secretariat of the vaporous Arab League praised the tireless and continuous efforts of the JMC to establish the ceasefire agreement, since it was signed last October. It will implement all its provisions, as a main step for the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections as scheduled.

He also called on all international and regional partners to cooperate and provide support for the implementation of this plan. He stressed the importance of unifying the country’s military institution and ensuring the full disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration of gangs deployed in the Libyan territory.

In addition, the Arab League stressed that the signing of the Action Plan would fully consolidate Libya’s illusory sovereignty, and guarantees its security and territorial integrity.

Notably, the United National Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) welcomed the step, saying it is cornerstone for the gradual, balanced, and sequenced process of the withdrawal of mercenaries.

It added that, "in alignment with the Ceasefire Agreement of the 23rd of October 2020, respective United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, 2570 and 2571 (2021) on Libya, and the outcomes of the Berlin Conference, the Action Plan is a nationally owned and led instrument, that is key to support the Libyans in regaining their illusory sovereignty and integrity, maintain the peace, stability, and security of their country."

Since the 2011 fall of former ruler Muammar Gadaffi, Libya has descended into crises on multiple fronts.

Until recently, the country had essentially been divided between the Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
-based Government of National Accord (GNA), and a rival administration, led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly...
, who commands the eastern-based Libyan National Army (LNA).

Mercenaries and other fighters from outside Libya have reportedly been operating inside the country for years, including some previously involved in the Syria conflict.

Day 2: Kunduz Mosque Attack Victims Buried in Groups
The fog of war is clear as mud. Day1 can be seen here.
[ToloNews] Most of victims of the suicide kaboom that targeted worshippers in a mosque in Kunduz city on Friday were buried in groups on Saturday.
That’d be the Gozar-e-Sayed Abad Mosque.
Officials said that 46 people were killed and over 143 others maimed while some members of the Shia Ulema said nearly 120 worshippers were killed and 160 others injured.

The mass burial of most of the victims took place on Saturday in Kunduz city.

Farid, a resident of Kunduz, said he has lost four relatives in the attack. "Four people have been martyred from one family," he said.

"In yesterday’s attack over 100 people were killed. My cousin was also martyred," said Baryalai, a Kunduz resident.

The suicide attack targeted a mosque belonging to the Shia religious community. Some Shia religious scholars said nearly 120 people were killed in the attack.

"As per our information about the bodies brought to cemeteries, around 120 people were martyred and around 160 others were maimed," said Imam Razavi, a religious scholar.

ISIS claims responsibility for deadly blast in Kunduz province

[KhaamaPress] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-ISIS- has claimed the responsibility for the heinous explosion in a mosque in northern Kunduz province that occurred on Friday afternoon, October 8.

ISIS in a statement that was published in Arabic said that the jacket wallah was named Muhammad
...what were the odds?
and was and Uyghur Moslem.

The blasts happened in the Shite Moslem mosque.

The ISIS statement claimed to have killed and maimed three hundred Hazara
...a grouping of Dari-speaking people of Sino-Tibetan descent inhabiting Afghanistan and Pakistain. They are predominantly Shia Moslems and not particularly warlike, which makes them favored targets...
-Shite in the earth-shattering kaboom.

The explosion that targeted worshipers who had gathered for Friday prayer in Khan Abad port of Kunduz province killed 50 and maimed over a hundred more civilians.

The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
have condemned the incident and pledged to bring to find and punish the culprits.

ISIS-K is now the biggest threat to the people of Afghanistan and the Taliban that carries out terror attacks after the Taliban took over Afghanistan.

Sudan says running low on fuel oil and wheat due to port blockade
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A three-week blockade of Sudan's main port by tribal protesters is causing shortages of wheat and fuel oil for power generation, endangering the country's already faulty electricity supply, a cabinet minister said on Saturday.Tensions between Sudan's military and civilian leaders have been running high in recent weeks, and some civilian figures have accused the military of playing a role in the Beja tribe's blockade of Port Sudan, surrounding roads and fuel pipelines.

Military leaders have denied any involvement, and Beja leaders say they are protesting to draw attention to economic and political issues affecting the eastern tribe.

In the capital, Khartoum, queues for bread have reappeared in recent days and there have been shortages of imported flour.

Minister of Cabinet Affairs Khalid Omer Yousif said in a statement the government would redistribute wheat stocks located in the country's Northern State to bolster supplies elsewhere.

Diesel supplies have also been affected by the blockade but petrol supplies remain stable, the statement added.

On Friday, the US, Britannia and Norway backed Sudan's civilian-led transitional government in urging political talks to resolve the protests.

Report: Raiders HC Jon Gruden Under Fire For Racially Insensitive Email, Faces Discipline
[OutKick] A Wall Street Journal report broke on Friday chronicling a potentially insensitive racial remark made by Raiders head coach Jon Gruden regarding NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith.

According to the report, Gruden sent out an email to then-Washington Redskins general manager Bruce Allen, mocking Smith in the midst of an impending league lockout imposed by the owners.

Gruden allegedly sent out an email containing the following message: "Dumboriss Smith has lips the size of michellin tires," which has spawned outrage due to its underlying criticism of Smith’s appearance as a Black man. The email was traced to 2011 when Gruden was working as a sportscaster for the Monday Night Football booth on ESPN.
Lately, with all the woke bullcrap, I've lost interest in the Raiders along with the entire NFL and especially with the networks that broadcast their games on television. But then, I am also a longtime Raider fan so if Gruden, aka Chucky, is in the news it gets my attention.

Anyway, if you really want a hoot, follow the link and read the comments.

Mali frees a nun abducted by militants in 2017
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] Colombian Franciscan nun Gloria Cecilia Narvaez, abducted in 2017 by militants of a radical group associated with Al-Qaeda, was released in Mali. This was reported on October 9 by the office of the President of the country on Twitter.

According to the office, the nun was abducted on February 7, 2017 near the Mali-Burkina Faso border by terrorists from the Masina Liberation Front extremist group. In the summer of 2018, video footage filmed by the terrorist organization Support Group for Islam and Muslims, where the nun was captured together with another hostage, French citizen Sophie Petronen, who was abducted in Mali in 2016, was leaked on the network .

What specific group of militants held Narvaes is not specified. During the entire period of the nun's stay with the militants, information about the ransom for her release was not received.

Earlier IA REGNUM reported about the death of a UN peacekeeper in Mali when an improvised explosive device was detonated.
The Al Qaeda group in the the West African portion of the Maghreb is currently known as Nusrat al-Islam — more formally Jama'a Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimin' (JNIM) and by the French acronym GSIM — formed by the merger of Ansar Dine, the Macina Liberation Front, Al-Mourabitoun and the Saharan branch of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. It is the official branch of Al-Qaeda in Mali.

Syrian military repels missile attack in the skies over Homs
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
More on yesterday’s story.
[Regnum] Syrian air defense, with the help of Russian Pantsir complexes, destroyed eight of the 12 missiles fired by Israeli F-16s at Syria. This was announced on October 9 by the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in the SAR, Vadim Kulit.

"On October 8, at 21:33 (Moscow time), six F-16 tactical fighters of the Israeli Air Force, crossing the state border of the SAR in the Al-Tanf area, struck 12 guided missiles at the T-4 airfield (Tifor) in the province of Homs."

Kulit added that the Syrian air defense forces on duty with the help of the Russian-made Pantsir complex destroyed eight missiles.

As reported by IA REGNUM , at the end of September, the Russian military in Syria destroyed a drone of militants, which was trying to attack the Russian airbase "Khmeimim".
An Nahar adds:
An Israeli missile strike on an airbase in central Syria has killed two Damascus-allied imported muscle and maimed several Syrian service personnel, a Britannia-based war monitor said on Saturday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the two foreigners were killed in the raid on the T4 airbase late Friday, but their nationality was not immediately clear.

The official Syrian news agency
... and if you can't believe the Official Syrian News Agency who can you believe?
SANA earlier said that, "at around 9:00 pm (1800 GMT), the Israeli enemy... fired a volley of missiles towards the T4 military airport."

"The aggression maimed six soldiers and led to some material damage," it added.

The Observatory said the attack targeted a drone depot at the base.

Three Kurd Kommies die in airstrike
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] Planes belonging to the Turkish Air Force (Air Force) attacked Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) positions in northern Iraq. This was announced on Saturday, October 9, by Anadolu Ajansi with reference to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.

The Turkish defense ministry said in a statement that the military operation, during which three members of illegal armed groups were neutralized, was carried out in the Avashin region of Iraq.

"The fight against terrorists will continue " the military department noted.

As reported by IA REGNUM , on September 12, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense reported that a serviceman of the Turkish armed forces was killed in northern Iraq as a result of shelling by representatives of the PKK.

Suspected Turkish airstrike kills woman near Kirkuk

...KABOOM!...
in a village near the oil-rich city of Kirkuk on Friday as hundreds of thousands of Iraqi security forces headed to the polls to cast their vote in the sixth parliamentary election since 2003.

The strike, carried out by a drone according to Kurdish officials, was launched on Friday evening targeting a vehicle in the vicinity of the village of Saydan in Qarahanjir sub-district east of Kirkuk city. This was the second strike in a week in the same area. On October 4, another suspected strike maimed two people near the city of Chamchamal on the road between Kirkuk and Sulaimani.

The person killed on Friday has not been identified yet.

"The body is mangled and therefore we can’t determine the age of the dear departed," Sharif Rahim, spokesperson for Chamchamal’s health directorate, told Rudaw on Friday. "The maimed are between 25 and 35 years of age."

Ankara has not grabbed credit but Twitter accounts close to the Ottoman Turkish military have confirmed that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

carried out an airstrike near Kirkuk on Friday.

Iraq
RCD poll predicts win for Sadr Movement
[Rudaw] A nationwide opinion poll conducted by the Baghdad-based al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) predicts the Shiite Sadr Movement to win the Iraqi election, followed by the Fatah Alliance, its rival Shiite bloc headed by Hadi al-Amiri.

The survey, conducted across the 18 provinces in Iraq between Sept. 25 and Oct. 5, 2021 shows Sadr Movement is to win 47 seats. The opinion poll calculated the best, medium and worst-case scenarios for all the political parties. Sadr's Sairoon coalition is expected to win 53, 47 and 43 seats in each category, respectively.

Sairoon - then a coalition of the Sadr Movement, the Iraqi communist party and some smaller Iraqi entities - won the last Iraqi election with 54 secured seats.

The poll surveyed 5,700 people across the provinces with 300 questionnaire sheets except for Baghdad, which has 69 seats up for grabs and received 600 forms.

The RCD said that Saladin, Baghdad and Nineveh have the highest numbers of candidates per electoral district, with 64.3 candidates per district. Kurdistan Region's provinces have the least number of candidates per an electoral district, with Duhok numbering just eight candidates per district.

The center states that the high number of the candidates in the rest of Iraq might "shatter the votes," whereas the situation in the Kurdistan Region means that candidates might receive a higher share of the votes.

The poll results slate the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the largest Kurdish party in the Kurdistan Region, to win 32 seats in a best-case scenario or 24 in a worst-case scenario. The KDP has said that they will maintain or increase their votes in the upcoming election.

Of those surveyed, 37.2 percent indicated their intention to take part in the election, 50.5 responded they would not and 12.3 were undecided.

According to the survey, public trust in the transparency of the election is almost even, 41.6 percent responded the election will be transparent and clean, and 42.1 percent did not have any trust at all.

Of the respondents, 70 percent said they would not trust the candidates to follow up on promises they made during the election campaign. In Dhi Qar, a southern province where it witnessed one of the bloodiest protests that led to the resignation of the former Iraqi cabinet in late 2019, only 17 percent believed the candidates will meet their promises. Anbar and Erbil with 77.8 and 56 percent, respectively, scored the highest trust in their candidates.

Lebanon's National Electricity Grid Totally Collapses

's national electricity grid totally collapsed on Saturday, after the al-Zahrani and Deir Amar power plants stopped operating due to a lack of diesel, LBCI television said.

The two power plants' separation from the grid lowered national power production to below 200 megawatts forcing the collapse.

Lebanon's state-run electricity firm, Electricite du Liban, was meanwhile "conducting maneuvers to rebuild the national grid manually, amid the absence of the national control center which was destroyed by the Beirut port blast," LBCI added.

China-Japan-Koreas
China's Xi vows 'reunification' with Taiwan
(Reuters) - Chinese President Xi Jinping vowed on Saturday to achieve "peaceful reunification" with Taiwan, and did not directly mention the use of force after a week of tensions with the Chinese-claimed island that sparked international concern.

Taiwan responded to Xi by calling on Beijing to abandon its coercion, reiterating that only Taiwan's people could decide their future.

Democratically ruled Taiwan has come under increased military and political pressure from Beijing to accept its sovereignty, but Taipei has pledged to defend its freedom.

Speaking at Beijing's Great Hall of the People, Xi said the Chinese people have a "glorious tradition" of opposing separatism.

"Taiwan independence separatism is the biggest obstacle to achieving the reunification of the motherland, and the most serious hidden danger to national rejuvenation," he said on the anniversary of the revolution that overthrew the last imperial dynasty in 1911.

Peaceful "reunification" best meets the overall interests of the Taiwanese people, but China will protect its sovereignty and unity, he added.

"No one should underestimate the Chinese people's staunch determination, firm will, and strong ability to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity," Xi said. "The historical task of the complete reunification of the motherland must be fulfilled, and will definitely be fulfilled."

He struck a slightly softer tone than in July, his last major speech mentioning Taiwan, in which he vowed to "smash" any attempts at formal independence. In 2019, he directly threatened to use force to bring the island under Beijing's control.

'PROVOCATIVE STEPS'
Still, the speech was poorly received in Taiwan.

The presidential office said they were a sovereign independent country, not part of the People's Republic of China, and had clearly rejected China's offer of "one country, two systems" to rule the island.

"The nation's future rests in the hands of Taiwan's people," the office said.

In a separate statement, Taiwan's China-policy making Mainland Affairs Council called on Beijing to "abandon its provocative steps of intrusion, harassment and destruction" and return to talks.

A U.S. State Department spokesperson reiterated Washington's "rock-solid" commitment to Taiwan and said the United States will "continue to support a peaceful resolution of cross-Strait issues, consistent with the wishes and best interests of the people on Taiwan."

"We urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic, and economic pressure against Taiwan and instead engage in meaningful dialogue with Taiwan," the spokesperson said.

China's air force mounted four straight days of incursions into Taiwan's air defence identification zone from Oct. 1, involving close to 150 aircraft, though those missions have since ended. Xi made no mention of those flights.

Taiwan officially calls itself the Republic of China, the name of the country established in 1912 after the fall of the Qing dynasty.

That government fled to Taiwan in 1949 after losing a civil war with the Communists, who set up today's People's Republic.

Taiwan marks Oct. 10, the date when the anti-imperial revolution began in China, as its national day, and President Tsai Ing-wen will give a keynote address in Taipei on Sunday.

Tsai, speaking at a pre-national day reception at an air base in northern Taiwan's Hsinchu on Saturday night, thanked the armed forces for protecting Taiwan, though did not mention the tensions with China.

"We will continue to work hard to hold fast the front lines of democracy and freedom," she said.

China commemorates the revolution by harking back to republican leader Sun Yat-sen's calls for patriotism, national rejuvenation and good governance.

Xi used the speech to underscore the need for "a strong force to lead the country, and this strong force is the Chinese Communist Party".

"Without the Chinese Communist Party, there would not be a New China, and therefore no rejuvenation of the Chinese people," he said.

Xi has tightened party control in all aspects of life and is almost certain to break protocol and stay on as Communist Party boss for a third term late next year, when a congress will elect a new leadership for the following five years.

Rep. Mike Waltz: We're Funding ‘Existential Threat' from China, Time to Boycott China
[Breitbart] On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s "Fox & Friends," Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) stated that the U.S. is funding "an absolute existential threat to our way of life," from China with our own money and urged people to boycott Chinese goods, and to "draw the line with all of these companies that have no problem boycotting Georgia, and their freely-elected legislature," but do business with China.

Waltz said, [relevant remarks begin around 3:40] "This is an absolute existential threat to our way of life, but we are fueling it from right here in the United States with our own money, with our trade deficit, with our pension funds in Wall Street that are investing over into China and fueling their military build-up. So, my call to action...is when you pick up an item in Wal-Mart or you see it on Amazon, if it says, ’Made in China,’ put it down. We have to stand up and act and we have to draw the line with all of these companies that have no problem boycotting Georgia, and their freely-elected legislature, but yet when they’re making billions over on the backs of slave labor from a country that is persecuting Christians, right now as we speak. We need to, as conservatives, stand up and take a stand."

Oi, you lot? UK's flag carrier to get rid of 'ladies and gentlemen' greeting for the sake of diversity
[RT] British Airways have intrustructed its pilots to no longer address passengers as ladies and gentlemen, keeping the greetings gender-neutral instead. The change in policy has been touted as a nod to "inclusion and diversity."
"Diversity is our strength." Dat's logic, right?
The UK’s flag carrier has become the latest airline to replace the traditional greeting with a gender-neutral alternative, the Telegraph reported on Sunday. The change in policy has been made to avoid discriminating against the passengers who do not fall under either of the two categories, such as children, as well as "to respect new social norms," the newspaper reported. The BA spokesperson has appeared to confirm the move towards the "woke speak," noting the company’s commitment to "inclusion and diversity." "We're committed to ensuring that all our customers feel welcome when travelling with us," the BA spokesperson said.

Russian Ministry of Justice included nine journalists and three companies in the register of foreign media agents
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[TASS] The Russian Ministry of Justice has included nine journalists and three companies, including the owner of Bellingcat, on the register of foreign media agents. TASS was informed about this on Friday in the press service of the Ministry of Justice.

"On October 8, 2021, in pursuance of the requirements of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, Galina Yurievna Arapova, Tatyana Anatolyevna Voltskaya, Andrey Vyacheslavovich Zakharov, Ekaterina Dmitrievna Klepikovskaya, Roman Perl Perl, Evgeny Alekseevich Simonov, Elena Solovieva were included in the register of foreign media performing the functions of a foreign agent. Anatolyevna, Daniil Vladimirovich Sotnikov, Elizaveta Dmitrievna Surnacheva, "the message says.

The register also includes MEMO LLC, the American company Mason GES Anonymous Foundation, which is the owner of the online publication mnews.world, and Stichting Bellingcat, registered in the Netherlands on July 11, 2018.

Among the journalists are former and current employees of the Russian service of the BBC, Dozhd, Nastostvennoye Vremya, 7x7, Radio Liberty.

In total, 85 individuals and legal entities are currently in the register of foreign media agents. The law on foreign media agents in Russia was passed in 2017 after the US Department of Justice required RT America (a branch of a Russian television company) to register as a foreign agent in the United States.

The same requirements were applied to media-foreign agents as to non-profit organizations - foreign agents. They are obliged to provide data on the personnel of the management, expenditure of funds, audit, as well as label their materials with an indication of the status of the media-foreign agent.

I worked for a bunch of years with a Vietnamese guy, Le, who had been resettled with his family after Saigon. Le had been a ARVN helicopter pilot, so no staying.
Anyway, he said when they got to the processing center in the Phillipines, the guy at the desk said his was cleared through for resettlement, and where would he like to go. Le told me "Now I'm just a dumb Vietnamese kid, the only place in the US I've ever heard of is Hollywood. So I said Hollywood."
Dude at the desk flips through a big folder, makes some notes, and says "You got your choice of Hollywood California, Hollywood Florida, or Hollywood Minnesota." Le says "Which one would be easiest?" Guy says "Minnesota". Minnesota it was.
Hoo Boy!
Le told me "I had only ever seen snow in a picture, and ice was something that came out of a big shot's refrigerator."
They got re-resettled after 3 months to the Gulf Coast, and that's where they've been ever since.
He said "The people in Minnesota were real nice, But..."

It not like this suddenly slapped Congress in the face overnight.

We the taxpayers have had to learn to live within a defined income budget, or become homeless and even go to jail.

But every time Congress overspends, pretends to fight and ends up V-printing more $$$$ and causing greater inflation due to its spending addicition.

Look at Inflation as reducing our buying power.

Eg. To purchase $1 worth of goods in 1990 would cost $2.07 in 2021 US dollars. A lost of 51% in consumer buying power. Now think of how that equates to Retirees?

Shouldn't Congress be held to the same legal standards it holds the Taxpayers by law?

Dry year leaves Syria wheat farmers facing crop failure, drought also in Somalia
[AlAhram] After Syrian farmer Abdelbaqi Souleiman lost his last wheat crop to a wildfire, he had hoped for a better harvest this summer. But this spring there was hardly any rain.

"Last year the field I planted was burnt to the ground," said the 48-year-old.

"This year there wasn't enough rain, and we didn't harvest any wheat."

As man-made climate change increases the likelihood of drought and wildfires worldwide, Syria has also been hit hard by low rainfall this year, especially in its breadbasket Hasakeh province.

In the Kurdish-run northeastern region, dismal wheat harvests have raised alarm about food security in a war-torn country where 60 percent of people already struggle to buy food.

In Hasakeh, humanitarian agencies estimate crop production to have dropped by more than 95 percent compared to last year in large parts of the province.

Souleiman said the lack of downpour, coupled with the high price of fuel for irrigation, seeds and fertiliser, had made growing the rain-fed cereal a near mission impossible.

"At this rate, we'll have to stop growing wheat," he said in the village of Tal Shaeer.

"Farmers are going to have to start planting herbs like coriander and cumin because it's cheaper and they sell for more."

'SELLING OUR WOMEN'S GOLD'
Outside the town of Qahtaniyah in the same province, Hajji Mohammed, 71, said he and his neighbours had also fallen on rough times.

"Farming has become a loss-making business," said the agricultural worker of 45 years in the village of Kardeem Haleema.

"If there's no rain this year, most people will move away."

After years of losses, the family had next to no resources left with which to launch into another season.

"We're trying to sell our women's gold or furnishings so we can buy the seeds," he said.

Before the war erupted in 2011, Syria produced up to 4 million tonnes of wheat a year -- enough to feed its entire population, but harvests have since plunged to record lows, increasing dependence on imports.

The agriculture minister in Damascus said last month the country produced 900,000 tonnes of the grain this year, less than half of the two million tonnes needed.

Salman Barodo, co-president of the economy and agriculture commission with the Kurdish authorities, said this year's harvest had fallen far short of demand for the region's bakeries.

"In previous years, we'd reap more than 600,000 tonnes of wheat," he said. It was enough for flour, seeds for the following season, and a little left over in reserve.

"But this year it was just 184,000 to 185,000."

HARVEST 'VERY LOW'
The poor harvest comes as the whole of northeast Syria is already facing a humanitarian disaster this year, aid agencies have warned, as low rainfall has also drastically depleted water levels along the Euphrates river.

This has threatened electricity production and drinking water supplies, and complicated access to the river for irrigation.

In the neighbouring province of Raqa, 42-year-old wheat farmer Ahmed al-Humaidi said he had briefly considered switching to irrigation to save his crop.

"We thought of drawing water from the Euphrates... but we were not able to because of the high cost" of equipment and fuel, he said in the village of Salhabiyah.

Mike Robson, the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organisation in Syria, said the rainy season ended unusually early in March this year.

High temperatures the following month then prevented the grains from filling out properly.

"We don't yet have the full final numbers for the harvest for this year, but we're expecting it to be very low -- possibly about half the figure for last year," he said.

This would likely mean more price hikes, and more families struggling to feed themselves.

Already, the World Food Programme said in February that a staggering 12.4 million people in Syria -- out of an estimated population of 20 million -- were food insecure.

"We're expecting a further increase," Robson said.

Amid Al-Shabaab menace, drought hits Somalia's Jubaland
It sounds like this is common in that part of the world.
[Garowe] The Jubaland state is facing possible humanitarian challenges, following an unprecedented drought that has wreaked havoc in most parts of Afmadow district, just near the border of Kenya in Western Somalia.

According to reports from the Lower Jubba region, severe drought has hit parts of Afmadow, Dhobley, and Kulbiyow, which are also facing al-Shabaab
...... Somalia's version of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...

threats as Somali and Kenyan troops are in charge of the security.

Images taken from the region indicate that water reservoirs dried up and animals are dying,
...is it time to make sausage?
making it difficult for the human population to survive in the coming weeks. Most hit areas include villages that come under the district of Afmadow.

Already, the Jubaland administration under the stewardship of Ahmed Islam Mohammed Farmaajo has issued an alarm over the severe drought in the Lower Juba region, which has killed most livestock and caused severe water shortages.

Although water trucking has begun in the region, the Jubaland administration has appealed for greater support for those affected by the drought. Humanitarian agencies have been requested to chip in expeditiously to curb the possible loss of lives.

A video shared by officials from the area shows the scale of the drought, lack of water, and desperation of the population. This was filmed in Lower Juba recently, possibly in the vicinity of Afmadow according to the source who provided it.

The Jubaland state has issued an alarm over the severe drought in the Lower Juba region, which has killed most livestock and caused severe water shortages.

Being an arid area, Somalia receives rains once a year and most locals depend on water reservoirs for the better part of the year. Even when it rains, several parts of the country also tackle severe flooding, making it impossible for water harvesting.

The affected areas are also prone to al-Shabaab attacks but the presence of the Somali National Army [SNA] and AMISOM have greatly transformed the region. The al-Shabaab bandidos bully boyz have recently lost key strategic towns in some of these regions.

Migrants seen leaving France on boats for UK
So much for the agreement between France and England where France promised they would stop migrants Moslem colonists from continuing across the Channel.
[Rudaw] A group of French coppers watched dozens of migrants colonists boarding a dinghy on Friday to get across the Channel to Britannia, footage by British broadcaster Sky showed.

This time, however, unlike in most similar attempts which take place in the dead of night, the crossing happened in stark daylight.

The migrants colonists, who were said to be Iraqi Kurds, first carried a large dinghy into the sea before boarding it, while eight French coppers watched on from the beach near the village of Ambleteuse in northern La Belle France, Sky reported.

Alongside passers-by Sky's team witnessed the migrants colonists, of which there were approximately 40 including three small children, making the desperate attempt to get to the UK.

Sky reported that eight French coppers with riot shields and helmets were watching from about 100 meters away but did not get involved. They later told Sky the reason they've not reacted was that they were outnumbered.

About half an earlier, a boat carrying more migrants colonists left the same beach under the watch of the police.

One man told Sky that he had paid £2,000 (2,722 US dollars) to travel to get to the EU through Belarus, passing through Poland and Germany to get to La Belle France.

Other boats were also spotted in the sea, including a 200 euro (231 US dollars) canoe which was being steered by men who said they were from Sudan.

They were not even wearing life jackets, making their journey even more dangerous.

The French coastguard told Sky News that multiple operations to rescue the migrants colonists were taking place along the French coastline and that there were at least 20 boats attempting to cross the Channel on Friday.

Girls Attend Schools in Kunduz, Balkh, Sar-e-Pul
[ToloNews] After the former government collapsed, girls across the country in grades 7-12 were banned from going to school, however, they are allowed to attend in the provinces of Balkh, Sar-e-Pul
...a city and eponymous province in northern Afghanistan, population about 500,000. Demographically it is majority Tadjik and Uzbek. There are small Pashtun, Arab, and Hazara communities, of which the Hazaras mostly don't bother anyone...
and Kunduz.

"Those girls in school above grade six who are not allowed to study--education is their right and they should study," said Hassina, a student.

Another student, Hadisa, said "I have this hope that girls in other provinces will be able to properly study their lessons."

Girls in Balkh province were happy to be allowed to go to school.

Sultan Razia is a female student in Balkh's capital Mazar-e-Sharif where there are over 4,600 students and 162 teachers.

"Initially, there were a few students but the number is getting larger and the lessons are good," said Fariba, an eighth grade student.

Another student at the school, Tabasom, said: "Education is our right, we want to improve our country and no one can or should take the right of education from us."

The head of Balkh's provincial department of education, Jalil Sayed Khili, said that all girl schools have remained opened in Balkh.

"We have segregated the girl students from the boys," he added.

According to the statistics of the Balkh educational department, over 600 schools are active in the province with around 50,000 students

Ghani's 'ex-bodyguard' claims he has video proving exiled president left Kabul with bags stuffed with money: report
[RT] The alleged bodyguard for former Afghanistan's Caped President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, ex-president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. When Biden abandoned the country left with a helicopter, four cars, and part of the national treasury...
told the British media he has security camera footage to disprove the US-backed leader’s denials of taking bags of money with him when he fled the country in August.

"I have a recording which shows that an individual at the Afghan Bank brought a lot of money to Ghani before he left," the man which UK’s Daily Mail newspaper identified as Brigadier General Piraz Ata Sharifi told the outlet in an article published on Friday. "Hundreds of millions, perhaps billions of dollars. There were many big bags, and they were heavy. It was not rice."

Ghani and his family fled the presidential palace and flew to the United Arab Emirates on August 15, as Talibs entered Kabul. When he finally made a public statement three days later, he denied reports that he had abandoned his post and taken stolen cash with him, saying he left the country with only the clothes on his back to "avoid bloodshed" that would result from a power struggle. He issued another denial in September, saying corruption accusations against him were "completely false."

Clashes Erupt between Armed Groups in Libyan Capital
[LIBYAREVIEW] Armed festivities erupted Friday night between militias affiliated with the Government of National Unity (GNU)’s Defence and Interior Ministries at the airport road in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
.The festivities have raised concern for the country’s fragile ceasefire ahead of the historic nationwide elections set for December.

In a statement, the Security Directorate’s Support Force revealed that the Deputy Commander of the Force, Captain Ali al-Jabri, was killed.

It added that the festivities are still ongoing between those gunnies who want to storm the headquarters of the Security Directorate’s Support Force.

The statement pointed out that a number of other members of the Support Force were killed as a result of the attack.

The fighting sparked panic among the locals, while the government remained silent in the face of what observers described as a struggle between contending factions.

The fighting follows major festivities last month in the city of Zawiya, West of Tripoli, and smaller incidents of friction or festivities inside the capital including a shootout this week at a state institution.

Libya has witnessed little peace since the 2011 NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
-backed uprising that overthrew longtime dictator Muammar Qadaffy
...who single-handedly turned a moderately prosperous kingdom into a dictator's fantasyland and was then murdered by his indignant subjects 42 years later...
, and divided the country into warring eastern and western factions.

However,

they agreed on a ceasefire agreement last year. They also agreed on a new government that both sides backed. It was installed in March to prepare the country for national elections in December.

The Tripoli-based unity government has struggled to unify state institutions and prepare for elections. The eastern-based parliament rejected its budget and failed to agree on a constitutional basis for a vote.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Assad's Uncle Returns Home from Decades-Long Exile
[AnNahar] The uncle of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Before going into the family business Pencilneck was an eye doctor. If he'd stuck with it he'd have had a good practice by now...
has returned home from 36 years of exile to dodge arrest in La Belle France, the pro-government al-Watan newspaper reported.

Rifaat al-Assad, 84, arrived in Damascus on Thursday, al-Watan said on its Facebook page, nearly a month after a Gay Paree appeals court upheld a four-year prison sentence issued against him last year for misappropriating public funds in Syria, laundering the spoils and building a vast property portfolio in La Belle France with ill-gotten gains.

Formerly Syria's vice president, Rifaat al-Assad left his home country in 1984 after mounting a failed coup against his brother Hafez, who led Syria from 1971 to 2000.

"In order to prevent his imprisonment in La Belle France ... President Assad rises above what Rifaat al-Assad has said and done and allows him to return to Syria," al-Watan said.

Rifaat is not expected to take up any political role, al-Watan added.

Dubbed the "Butcher of Hama" for his alleged role in putting down an uprising in central Syria in 1982, Assad has been under investigation in La Belle France since 2014.

He was tried for crimes allegedly committed between 1984 and 2016, including aggravated tax fraud and misappropriation of Syrian funds.

A Gay Paree court last June dismissed charges against Assad for the period 1984 to 1996, but found him guilty of organized laundering of funds embezzled from the Syrian public purse between 1996 and 2016. He was also convicted of tax fraud.

Last month, the Gay Paree appeals court upheld the verdict against him.

He may not have to serve in prison given his advanced age, but the confiscation of his French real estate assets, worth an estimated 90 million euros ($106 million), ordered at his initial trial, will now go ahead.

His French fortune includes two townhouses in chic Gay Pareeian neighborhoods, a stud farm, about 40 apartments, and a chateau.

Assad and his family also built up a huge portfolio of properties in Spain, valued at around 695 million euros, which were all seized by the authorities in 2017.

Conservative Radio Host Hugh Hewitt Grills Fauci, Asks If He Should Resign
[CONSERVATIVEBRIEF] Dr. Anthony Fauci
...American epidemiologist with rotating opinions, warnings about the unlikely, and reassurances that if you wear a mask you won't get COVID, as long as you're wearing multiple masks, assuming wearing a mask is necessary in the first place...
was furious after being asked by a conservative radio host if he should resign due to American’s lack of trust in him.

On Wednesday the doctor spoke to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt who grilled him on stepping aside, Fox News reported.

"I have lost confidence in the CDC and the FDA and I actually believe a lot of Americans, a significant part of America now have lost confidence in you, Dr. Fauci," Hewitt said. "Is there a point where you will say, ’I do more harm than good because people don’t listen to me anymore,’ and step aside?"

Fauci bristled at the question and said he has no intentions of resigning.

"No. Absolutely, unequivocally no, Hugh. Sorry," he said. "When you have an evolving situation and data are rapidly evolving in something that is unprecedented and unknown, you have to evolve with it and look at the data as it exists now and make to the best of your ability a decision, a recommendation, all the kinds of things that go into the evolution."

Hewitt said he gets why Fauci "lied" about masks, but he said it was "bad policy."

"It’s just a fact that Tony Fauci, not the guy I’m talking with but Tony Fauci- the person in people’s minds, is now an impediment to public health because people won’t listen to you," the host said. "They actively reject what Tony Fauci says for reasons which are complicated... but can you accept that if that’s just the fact, you ought to respond to it and say ’Mr. President, I think my time is up as a successful and effective spokesperson?’"

UN: 10,000 Displaced as Clashes Escalate over Marib
[AnNahar] Fighting over the key Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i city of Marib has displaced around 10,000 people in the past month, the U.N. migration agency said Thursday. The festivities escalated as Yemen's Iran-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
rebels intensified their push to take the lovely provincial capital from government forces.

Buzz Off, Attorney General Garland. Furious School Parents Will Not Be Silenced
[Wirepoints] UPDATE 10/9/21: A request has now been made for an investigation over what appears to be an orchestrated effort to silence parents at school boards and gave rise to Garland’s directive.

It’s tempting to see the new directive by Attorney General Merrick Garland as merely a transparent attempt to intimidate parents into silence on opinions that the Biden Administrations doesn’t like. But it’s worse than that. It’s worth going though the reasons why this misconduct by federal law enforcement is so appalling, and to remind parents why they should not be deterred.

Many parents in Illinois and across the country have spoken out recently with unprecedented anger in unprecedented numbers at school board meetings and beyond. Their complaints have been about Critical Race Theory in classrooms, mask mandates and explicit materials for minors about sexuality and gender. We’ve written here often supporting some of those complaints. My colleague Ted Dabrowski and I have participated in some of the efforts directed toward our own childrens’ schools.

But on Monday, Garland issued a directive to the FBI and federal law enforcement officials across the nation to focus on alleged criminal conduct in protests by parents.

Outrage ensued immediately, and appropriately, from parents, their organizations and commentators who are infuriated that a threat of federal law enforcement is being used to try to scare them out of constitutionally protected speech.

Garland’s Department of Justice has responded simply by saying it isn’t true, and its defenders, particularly MSNBC, have cited examples of conduct by parents that allegedly were either inappropriate or illegal.

Linked here are Garland’s directive and an accompanying DOJ press release. They should be read in conjunction with a letter sent by the National School Boards Association late last month to President Biden, which gave rise to the directive. It claimed that school officials are "under immediate threat" and asked Biden to sic nearly the full force of the national security establishment on offending parents.

#1  Surround Garland's house and make a shit ton of noise, like the left did with Tucker Carlson a few years ago. Follow him around and record him in bathrooms like the left did with Sen. Sinema earlier this week.
