Vernon and Irene Castle
Castle was a stage name: Vernon (2 May 1887 – 15 February 1918) was born William Vernon Blyth in Norwich, Norfolk, England. Irene (7 April 1893 – 25 January 1969) was born Irene Foote in New Rochelle, New York.
Vernon and Irene Castle were a husband-and-wife team of ballroom dancers and dance teachers who appeared on Broadway and in silent films in the early 20th century. They are credited with reviving the popularity of modern dancing. The couple reached the peak of their popularity in Irving Berlin's first Broadway show, Watch Your Step, in which they refined and popularized the 🦊 Foxtrot. They also helped to promote ragtime, jazz rhythms and African-American music for dance. Irene became a fashion icon through her appearances on stage and in early movies, and both Castles were in demand as teachers and writers on dance. After serving with distinction as a pilot in the British Royal Flying Corps during World War I, Vernon died in a plane crash on a flight training base near Fort Worth, Texas, in 1918.
[NY Post] At least six people have been killed and more than 30 injured in Beirut on Thursday after protests erupted into bloodshed with armed clashes and heavy gunfights plaguing the streets of Lebanon’s capital.
The violence broke out during a protest by the militant group Hezbollah and its Shiite allies on Thursday morning as they demanded the lead judge investigating last year’s massive blast in the city’s port be removed over claims of bias.
The violence continued to escalate into the afternoon, with Lebanon’s Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi saying snipers in buildings were shooting people in the head and grenade launchers were being fired into the air.
"This is a very dangerous sign," Mawlawi told reporters. "No one can take this."
Six people have already been confirmed dead, according to Lebanon’s Red Cross. One of those killed was a woman who was struck by a bullet in her home, a military source told
In scenes reminiscent of Lebanon’s civil war, local media broadcast footage of bullets bouncing off buildings and people running for cover as gunfire echoed in the streets and ambulances rushed to pick up the growing number of casualties.
Smoke also covered the neighborhood where relentless gunfire and explosions continued for hours.
Students in nearby schools huddled in corridors or lay face down on the floor with the windows open to avoid major impact.
The army heavily deployed in the area and threatened to open fire against any armed person on the road.
It wasn’t immediately how the clashes first unfolded, but Hezbollah protesters say they were fired upon by snipers deployed over rooftops as they marched toward the city’s Palace of Justice through an area that divides the Christian and Shi’ite Muslim neighborhoods.
The Christian Lebanese Forces party has denied any involvement, saying it strongly condemned the violence.
Footage on social media showed Lebanese Forces supporters marching through the streets with large crosses after Hezbollah called for the protests.
Political tensions have been building over the probe into the huge port explosion in August 2020 caused by a vast quantity of ammonium nitrate that killed more than 200 people and devastated larges sections of the city.
Hezbollah and its allies have been calling for Judge Tarek Bitar, who is leading the investigation, to be removed.
As part of the probe, the judge has tried to question senior politicians and security officials — including Hezbollah allies — who are suspected of negligence that may have allowed the explosion.
[Washington Examiner] A judge has granted the motion to dismiss a Georgia case alleging voter fraud in Fulton County during the 2020 election on the grounds that the petitioners, who are members of voting integrity group VoterGA, lack the legal standing to make the charges.
Superior Court Judge Brian Amero decided Wednesday that "regardless of the veracity of [fraud] allegations, the Court finds Petitioners have still failed to allege a particularized injury." The lawsuit sought an independent investigation of Fulton County’s 147,000 absentee ballots amid allegations that a substantial number had been cast fraudulently for Joe Biden, possibly costing then-President Trump a victory in the county.

SuperiorCourt Judge Brian Amero decided Wednesday that “regardless of the veracity of [fraud] allegations, the Court finds Petitioners have still failed to allege a particularized injury.”
Apparently the judge hasn't purchased a tank of gasoline, picked up a restaurant tab, or taken note of recent events in Afghanistan or on our Southern border lately.
#2
Particularize this, asshole. You're trashing our democracy, ruining the nation's economy, burning our cities, demonizing normal families, destroying our heritage and the Constitution, ruining millions of households and causing thousands of our brave young men and women to die overseas due to your incompetence, neglect, stupidity and corruption. THAT's a grievance both general AND "particularized."
#4
...on the grounds that the petitioners, who are members of voting integrity group VoterGA, lack the legal standing to make the charges.
The new tried & true excuse to look the other way on all of these lawsuits. Petitioner has no standing to insure a fair & free election, and that goes for the rest of us.
[Breitbart] The U.S. bishops’ pro-life chairman Archbishop Joseph Naumann is urging President Joe Biden to act like the "devout Catholic" he says he is by opposing the evil of abortion, Catholic News Agency reported Tuesday.
Speaking on EWTN News Nightly on October 8, Archbishop Naumann said the Biden administration is "in the control of abortion extremists."
"It’s really sad," Naumann said in reaction to Biden’s reversal of the "Protect Life Rule," which barred Title X recipients that provide or promote abortion from receiving tax dollars.
"He likes to call himself a devout Catholic. I would urge him to begin to act like one, especially on the life issues," the archbishop said. "And to let his faith really inform his conscience and the decisions that he’s making, not the platform of his party."

Obviously developments in Human Husbandry escaped the Archbishop. Frequently used terms such as "limited or spaced birthing" and "herd immunity" should have been a signal of things to come.
The manipulation of the Archbishop's flock is indeed a reality.
[RT] Former President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... has called out his successor Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier... , pointing to the supply chain issues, inflation, foreign policy, and even the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... pandemic to ask if Americans miss his tenure in the White House.
"[Covid] is raging out of control, our supply chains are crashing with little product in our stores, we were humiliated in Afghanistan, our Border is a complete disaster, gas prices and inflation are zooming upward—how’s Biden doing? Do you miss me yet?" Trump said in a statement on Wednesday.
It was posted on Twitter by his spokeswoman Liz Harrington.
Though the tone of the statement resembled his trademark tweets, Trump was banned from the platform in January — while still the sitting president — after Twitter said his words could be interpreted by some as inciting violence following the riot at the US Capitol.
He has since needled Biden — whom he refuses to accept as the legitimate president — in a series of statements.
Wednesday’s mini-rant comes on the heels of reports that annual inflation in the US has reached 5.4%, the highest increase since the 2008 financial crisis.
Consumer prices rose 0.4% in September, even more than in August. Groceries, gasoline — which reached its highest average price in years — heating fuel, rent, furniture, and new cars were the most affected.
Labor shortages at major ports have also caused supply chain disruptions and empty shelves at stores across the US. Meanwhile, ...back at the Senate, the partisans of Honorius went for their knives and the partisans of Stilicho went for the doors... over a million migrants colonists have crossed the US border illegally since Biden’s inauguration; while a small number were deported, most were released into the country and allowed to claim asylum.
Biden called the US exit from Afghanistan an "extraordinary success," even though the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... took over the country weeks before the last American troops were able to withdraw. Millions of dollars’ worth of weapons and equipment given to the Afghan Army also ended up in Taliban hands.
While over 100,000 Afghans were airlifted out of Kabul, some — including the very interpreter that helped rescue Biden when he visited the country as a senator — were left behind to be saved by private charities.

[RT] The Democrat House speaker has become the latest member of Congress to show the rest of us how to make money on Wall Street. But please don’t put it down to insider trading, because that’s illegal.
In case you missed it, Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments... (D-Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,) is being panned by the Twitterverse, if not by regulators and ethicists, for a series of stock transactions conducted by her husband Paul.
"The week before the House Judiciary Committee voted on reigning in big tech," reported Fortune in July, "Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband exercised a bullish bet on Google-parent Alphabet, in a timely transaction that netted him $5.3 million."
See? It’s really easy.
All you have to do is become a party leader in Congress with access to information that no one else has, and bingo, you too can become a dot-com, or Big Tech, or biotech millionaire, by trading on that insider information.
Of course, that’s not really how it happened in this case. According to a spokesperson for Pelosi: "The speaker has no involvement or prior knowledge of these transactions." That hasn’t stopped some voters expressing, well, some skepticism.

It was back in high school when I noticed that it did not make economic sense to spend millions of dollars to get a job that paid $100K a year. Kinda sorta made me think something else might be going on. Know what I mean? *nudge*nudge*wink*wink*

I remember years ago that congress made sure they were above the insider trading laws made for us pee-ons. Why doesn't the Supreme Court require the congress to be subject to all laws they write for the riff raff? Time to fire those who think they're above the laws they command of others including the Supreme Court.

“While lawmakers who violate the STOCK Act face a fine, the penalty is usually small — $200 is the standard amount — or waived by House or Senate ethics officials,” said Businessinsider.
So it isn't a fine, but rather a trading fee. How very innovative.
Most of his best stock picks have involved either oligopolies or legislative arbitrage, in both cases, companies that took advantage of favorable legislation or regulatory treatment. Tobacco, newspapers, insurance and financial companies .... Another more recent example: scooping up the railroad stocks during the period when the Democrats were killing the Keystone pipeline.
Better way to word that without sounding snotty, because the story is being avoided, is that it is so painfully obvious, NPR had to put their take on it.
[RT] Hollywood star William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk in popular science-fiction series ’Star Trek’, became the oldest person in the world to visit space on Wednesday, as a Blue Origin rocket took him over 100km above the Earth. Shatner, aged 90, overtook 82-year-old aviator Wally Funk to become the oldest person in space. Funk also flew aboard a Blue Origin rocket, accompanied by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, in July.

After over 1/2 a century of playing a Star Trek Ship Capt.
He finally ALMOST made it into Space.
Note: So he just made it into the Thermosphere. But isn't Exosphere is the upper limit of our atmosphere and space starts around 10,000km where the atmosphere ends doesn't it?.
Either way, it must have been a hell of a ride and a life time experience.

[RT] Washington itself is undermining the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency by using it as an instrument of sanctions abroad, while raising the national debt and inflating at home, said Russian President Vladimir Putin " ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... .
"It seems to me that the United States is making a very big mistake by using the dollar as a sanctions instrument... by preventing payment in dollars for the sanctioned products," Putin told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble on Wednesday, after a panel at the Russian Energy Week.Countries facing US sanctions, like Russia, "have no other choice, we are simply forced to switch to settlements in other currencies," he added. Gamble had asked about the possibility of using cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin to sell oil and gas, something Putin welcomed in principle but said it was "too early," citing crypto’s volatility.
Russia is happy to use dollars in energy trade — for now — and has now plans to ditch the US dollar entirely, Putin noted, but "if the policy of the American authorities continues... then we will not have to do anything, the US will itself undermine confidence in the dollar."

Also tells you he knows something about investments. Currency valuations cannot be depended upon. Land prices on the other hand have historically trended upward.

That's great news for Russia, the Russian people and for the stock prices of Russian oil, gas and metals companies.

[IsraelTimes] Hillel Yaffe Medical Center says it is able to keep operating, aside from non-urgent elective procedures, by switching to alternate computer systems
The Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in the northern city of Hadera said Wednesday that it had been targeted in a ransomware attack by hackers, but that it had largely managed to overcome the damage.
The hospital said it had received no advance warning of the attack on its computer systems.
Medical services at the hospital were continuing as usual as it switched to alternate systems, it said, aside from some non-urgent treatments. The hospital said it would keep the public informed of developments.
The incident was immediately reported to the Health Ministry and the Israel National Cyber Directorate, it said.
The Health Ministry said in a statement that it was working with the hospital to fully restore it to regular operations.
"The Health Ministry and the national cyber directorate were updated with details of the incident and are cooperating on investigating and dealing with it," the ministry said. It added that it had sent warnings about the matter to other hospitals as a preventative measure.
The Laniado Hospital in Netanya said it was coordinating with the Magen David Adom ambulance service and was ready to receive any patients who needed treatment that was not available at Hillel Yaffe due to the attack.
Last month, Israeli cybersecurity firm Check Point reported that Israeli institutions are targeted with about twice as many cyberattacks as the average in other countries around the world, including the country’s health sector, which experiences an average of 1,443 a week.
The most targeted sectors around the world, including Israel, are education and research, followed by government and security organizations, and then health institutions, Check Point said at the time.
The report found that, on average, one in every 60 Israeli organizations or firms is targeted every week with ransomware attacks, an increase of 30 percent over the rate in 2020.
[IsraelTimes] After the cyberattack on the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, the National Cyber directorate says it fears other hospitals will be targeted, according to Channel 13.
The directorate also issues a general cyber warning to Israeli businesses to be aware Israel is being targeted.
According to Channel 12, Israeli officials fear Iranian hackers could in the future target hospitals to disconnect patients from life support.
[IsraelTimes] A cyberattack on Israel’s Hillel Yaffe Medical Center is still ongoing, hours on.
In a letter to Israel’s hospitals, the Health Ministry urges them to print out patients’ medical files, amid fears the ransomware attack could target other hospitals.
According to Channel 13, Israeli officials don’t believe an enemy state is behind the hack.

[LIBYAREVIEW] Libya’s parties have agreed on an Action Plan to withdraw foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, claiming that its implementation will start in November. The 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) in Libya had discussed the mechanisms for the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign forces during its meeting in Geneva, last Friday,
The sources told Sky News Arabia that the plan includes four main points, the first of which is the withdrawal of foreign forces to agreed points in two cities, provided that they never leave their positions.
The second step includes deploying UN-observers to work on implementing the foreign forces’ withdrawal in a gradual and balanced manner. "Libya has already requested the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... and the Security Council to deploy the observers," the sources revealed.
The third step is for the observers to monitor the actual number of foreign forces and mercenaries, and document them accurately.
"Finally, the mercenaries are to be deported from Libya in successive batches according to a timeline, which estimates say will end by 2023," the sources concluded.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres ...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years... , welcomed the comprehensive Action Plan for the "gradual, balanced, and sequenced process of the withdrawal of mercenaries, and imported muscle from Libyan territory."
Guterres called on all Libyan and international parties to work to implement the plan. He noted that the Action Plan is a cornerstone in the implementation of the October 2020 ceasefire agreement.
Guterres believes that "the deployment of an initial team of United Nations ceasefire monitors will contribute to creating the conditions for successful implementation of the Action Plan."

[NPASYRIA] The United States will not welcome any step towards normalization with Syria’s Assad, nor will it lift sanctions on Syria, the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, said on Wednesday.
In a tripartite meeting with his Emirati counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed and the Israeli Yair Lapid, Blinken added that the US policy towards Syria will not change, and "we will remain opposed to any rebuilding efforts until there is a political progress."
"What we have not done and what we do not intend to do is to express any support for efforts to normalize relations or rehabilitate Mr. Assad or lifted a single sanction on Syria or changed our position to oppose the reconstruction of Syria, until there is irreversible progress toward a political solution, which we believe is necessary and vital," Blinken added.
"We have continued to work to push the Assad regime to pledge to respect the international laws, human rights ...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty... , the military truces, and accept a real political transition," he noted.
The US Secretary of State indicated that they have been focusing their military efforts in Syria on "targeting any krazed killergang that targets us or our allies. We also seek to have a comprehensive political solution to the Syrian issue."
"The thing we won’t do is that we will never welcome any initiatives of normalization with the Assad regime, nor will we support any reconstruction efforts until there is irreversible process toward a political solution," he stated.
The United States has suspended its diplomatic presence in Syria since 2012.

Happened. Didn't Happen. Don't know. There would be plenty of comms traffic out there to back it up.
Thing is, these are the wages of The Credibility Gap ranted about back in the sweaty shorts and t-shirt weather months. That, and The Weirdos batting .350 and The Experts making Mendoza look like a slugging prodigy.
Thing is, when I was young and flew, it was interesting picking up the Sky Miles catalog from the pocket. Last time I flew, it was a safety brief which included a tidbit about standing every once in a while on long trips, especially older folk, to promote circulation and prevent clotting.
Of course, that would apply to every job where sitting is 90+% of the physical aspect of the occupation.

[ZH] Dr. J Michael Burry of "The Big Short" fame went on a massive Twitter rant Tuesday, where he posted a series of tweets - including a fact check on Ivermectin, who's actually paying their 'fair share' of taxes, how many genders exist, and a defense of former President Donald J. Trump.
On taxes, Burry - who has since locked his account - tweeted "Top 1%, 20.9% of income, 40.1% of taxes. Bottom 90% paid just 28.6% of taxes. Top 1% tax rate is 7X HIGHER than rate paid by the bottom 50%. Biden tells rich to "pay like everybody else does." So, a tax cut for the rich? Or class warfare built on lies."
On Trump, Burry noted that the former president "NEVER said to inject bleach," adding "If you did, again, you fail Darwinism. If you still believe it, you did not read his comments, or you cannot read his comments, or you cannot hear his comments, or you just blindly follow people on the internet #TDS"
On Ivermectin, Burry noted that it's "a drug that works well in humans and other mammals," adding "Ignorance reigns supreme in the media and on social media regarding this drug. Used in humans since the 70s, wide experience, safe, Period." (And of course, receipts).
On self-hating Americans who trash the nation's history, Burry wrote "Those with better tech conquer, brutally, all through history. How did the Aztek empire get so big, or the Romans? African wars to this day. Ridiculous to bash America or apologize for our founding. You think the Chinese will cut themselves 200 years after they conquer us?"
On the state of 'persecution targeting conservatives' - Burry says that it "permeates society from K through college and into the workforce," adding "Media, Big Tech, Intelligence Agencies, DoJ, IRS are complicit. This is dead serious, and no laughing matter."

A brilliant man. Truth-teller surrounded by scabs and liars.
End days soon for our Republic. This will not end well.
[NEWSBUSTERS.ORG] A day after promoting a party-switching former Republican who is running for Oklahoma as a Democrat, on Tuesday, CNN ...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for... 's New Day devoted a segment to a pair of disaffected Republicans who are encouraging members of their party to vote Democratic and keep Democrats in control of Congress.Picking up on a piece in the New York Times
... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... by former New Jersey Governor Christine "Snaggletoofs" Todd Whitman and former Homeland Security Department official Miles Taylor, CNN host Brianna Keilar spoke with them live about their lobbying against their own party. She set up the segment:
Two longtime GOP critics of former President Trump offering some surprising advice for fellow Republicans who refuse to embrace Trump's chokehold on the party and his lies about the election. In a New York Times opinion essay, they write, "Rational Republicans are losing the party's civil war, and the only near-term way to battle pro-Trump forces of Evil is for all of us to team up on key races and overarching political goals with our longtime political opponents, the Democrats."
After Keilar began by asking Whitman how she made the decision to take such action, the liberal former governor repeated tired claims that the Republican Party has no clearly identified agenda, in spite of all the issues that were acted on the past four years:
Because I believe in the Constitution, and it's time that our elected officials remember they took an oath to that, not to a party. And what I have seen is that unfortunately Donald Trump ...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...... has created what I would call a -- it's just a cult. There isn't a party anymore. If you don't have a core set of values, if you don't have a platform -- which they didn't adopt at the last convention because he didn't want them to -- the only thing you stand for is whatever he tells you on a particular day and that is not my definition of a political party.

[REGNUM] In the town of Zvecan, in northern Kosovo and Metohija, on 13 October, militants calling themselves the "special police of Kosovo" severely injured a local Serb and received minor injuries. This was reported by the Kosovar media in Serbian.
"The victim is injured by a firearm in the chest area. His scapula and rib are affected, and we are preparing for the operation. The victim is in the intensive care unit, he is in serious condition," Zlatan Elek, a surgeon at the Clinical Center in Kosovska Mitrovica, told Kosovo Online .
According to the newspaper, the wounded Serb was shot in the back.
Meanwhile, the police officers of the separatist Kosovo began to leave Zvecan. On the way of their retreat, cartridge cases from live ammunition are visible.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic urgently went to the city of Raska on the administrative line between central Serbia and Kosovo to meet with representatives of the Kosovo Serbs, the RTS TV channel reports.
Recall that on October 13 in the morning the so-called special police of Kosovo broke into the north of the province, inhabited by Serbs, under the pretext of fighting smuggling. The militants entered shops and pharmacies, broke shelves with goods. Disgruntled Serbs protested and blocked some streets in northern Mitrovica and in Zvecan.
[REGNUM] In the north of Kosovo and Metohija, under the pretext of fighting economic crime, early in the morning on October 13, militants of the so-called special police of Kosovo, "ROSU", again broke into. This is reported by the Serbian media.
They closed several shops in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica and in neighboring Zvecan, prompting protests from the residents of that city, who blocked individual streets with trucks.
Citizens blocked the bridge over the Ibar River. The separatists tried to break into the city center, and the residents tried to prevent it. Police used tear gas to disperse the protesters, RTS reported.
"They are breaking into warehouses, shops, pharmacies are not working," an eyewitness in the northern part of Mitrovica told the TV channel, describing the actions of the so-called special police of Kosovo.
In the meantime, ROSU published a message stating that "early in the morning, a police operation began to cross the smuggled goods."
Recall that the ROSU militants in September occupied the Yarine and Brnjak checkpoints in the north of Kosovo and Metohija under the pretext of implementing the Reciprocity Agreement signed between Belgrade and Pristina in 2016 and concerning the rules for the use of license plates in Kosovo and central Serbia. Then the disgruntled Serbs blocked these checkpoints. The blockade lasted 10 days, until the representatives of Belgrade and Pristina signed an interim agreement on the use of license plates in Brussels.
[GMTODAY] Gov. J.B. Pritzker has been working to change the Health Care Right of Conscience Act, which some have invoked in the fight against COVID-19 vaccine mandates. The 1998 Health Right of Conscience Act bans discrimination because of such persons’ refusal to receive or participate in any way in any particular form of health care services contrary to his or her conscience.
Some have said the law allows people to avoid getting the COVID-19 vaccine and evade Pritzker’s executive order mandating vaccination or regularly testing for health care workers, educators and other state employees.
Ameri Klafeta, of the ACLU of Illinois, said people are abusing the 1998 law and using it in a way that was not intended.
"The cases that have been brought under this law have always involved health care professionals," Klafeta said. "This was never a law for individual citizens."

[REGNUM] Fighting is taking place in the Ethiopian state of Afar between federal troops and the military of the People's Liberation Front of Tigraya, Agence France-Presse reported on October 13.

[BeeMaster] There are many different ways to butcher and process large animals. At the "shouted" request of 15th, I'm posting the way I do it ...
I do all of my own butchering and meat processing - from pulling the trigger (or releasing the arrow) to smoking the sausages and drying the jerky. From Bear (just got one 2 weeks ago), to Deer, to Elk, to Antelope, to Cattle, to Pigs, etc. We made a roast in the slow cooker over the weekend - Bear and Elk - Amazing!
For the record - I will not eat any meat with a "Gamey" flavor. I throw up at the smell of it - instantly. ... and unfortunately, many people have "gamey" meat because they don't handle the meat properly - which is as simple as killing the naturally occurring bacteria in the meat as fast as possible. This is done by "chilling" getting the meat below 40 degrees as fast as possible. The bacteria begin attacking the meat the moment the animal dies - the bacteria then begin to "outgas". It is the "outgassing" of the bacteria that is the source of the "gamey" flavor. ... or at least, this is my understanding of what occurs.
My meat never has a Gamey flavor.

I generally quarter, strip out backstrap (and pig equivalent) and tenderloins within an hour of taking a deer or pig, and put them on ice. Then finish butchering and packaging and freezing within 48 hours. If I have time I harvest additional meat from the neck, ribs, etc. but if not, the coyotes get dessert. I have yet to have 'gamey' flavored meat (though some venison is unpleasantly 'turpentine' flavored, if the deer browsed too much pine.) And I have kept some frozen five years and used it without problem (though it did take some aggressive trimming of the freezer burned areas.)
[IsraelTimes] Man said to be food delivery worker of Pak origin detained after examination of suspected assassin’s phone, in incident Israel blames on Iran
A second suspect has reportedly been arrested in Cyprus in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate one or more Israeli businesspeople in Cyprus last month.
According to a local Cypriot website, a 27-year-old food delivery worker originally from Pakistain was arrested on Tuesday evening after a police raid on his home. Authorities reportedly seized a number of items from his residence.
Cypriot authorities were previously said to be probing an Azeri national on terror suspicions as part of the alleged plot. That suspect was ordered held in jug another six days during a hearing last week, according to Cypriot reports.
The raid on the second man’s home was said to have been as a result of an examination of the Azeri suspect’s phone records. Caught sexting, was he?
Police said the arrests were being handled as a possible terrorism case but lawyers for the first suspect, who has not been named, have denied any terror links.
The Azeri man was arrested last week on reported suspicion of planning to attack one or more Israeli businesspeople in Cyprus. Israeli authorities have insisted that the man was part of an Iran-backed terror plot aimed against Israelis on the island.
During the hearing in Cyprus last week, officials unsealed documents listing 11 charges the man is being investigated on, including terror activity, attempted murder, belonging to a criminal organization, conspiracy to commit a crime, and being in the country illegally, Israel’s Channel 12 news reported.
According to a local Cypriot report, a gun with a silencer was found by police in the Azeri suspect’s vehicle.
The lawyer for the first suspect denied any Iranian connection to the reported liquidation attempt, Channel 12 reported, and Cypriot authorities also do not believe Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... is behind the plot, according to local media.
Reports have indicated that the plot was directed at Israeli businessman Teddy Sagi, though Israeli authorities have denied he was specifically targeted.
The Philenews website reported that Cypriot authorities think the alleged would-be hitman’s target in the plot was not Sagi, but other members of his company.
Sagi is the founder of the gambling software company Playtech, which has offices in Nicosia.
Sagi had told Channel 12 earlier this month that he was never tipped off or warned and decided to leave Cyprus for unrelated reasons. "The headlines sounded very scary, but it had nothing to do with me," he said. "I didn’t receive any notification to leave."
Some sources had previously claimed that the foiled attack was an liquidation attempt against Sagi linked to his business dealings.
But the Israeli government blamed "Iranian terror" for the planned attack, and said Sagi was targeted only because he was an Israeli businessman.

"Paleostinian Islamic Jihad will not leave its members in Zionist prisons to be victims at the hands of the enemy. Accordingly, we will stand with them and support them with everything we have, even if this means we must go to war for their sake," says al-Nakhaleh.
"No agreements or any other considerations will prevent us from that," he says.
Hundreds of Islamic Jihad members in Israeli jails are beginning a hunger strike on Wednesday in protest of new prison conditions, the Paleostinian Prisoners Club said earlier today.
[IsraelTimes] Around 250 Islamic Jihad prisoners will begin a hunger strike today in protest of new Israeli policies toward Paleostinian detainees, the Paleostinian Prisoners Club announces.
Since six Paleostinian security prisoners fled Gilboa jail in northern Israel in early September, the Israeli prison administration has taken a number of measures in an attempt to reduce the chances of another escape. The policies have included breaking apart clusters of Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... prisoners, moving some to other jails and solitary confinement; family visits have also been postponed.
"There is only one demand: return the situation to the way it was before [the escape]," Prisoners Club director Qaddura Fares tells The Times of Israel in a phone call.
An Israeli Prison Services spokesperson says the jails have yet to see a formal hunger strike begin, however. Normally, the prisoners themselves would send a letter to the prison administration announcing their intention to commence such a strike.
The dramatic flight of the Paleostinian runaways captivated Paleostinians, although Israeli forces caught all six and returned them to prison two weeks later. They were subsequently charged with escaping prison, which carries a maximum additional sentence of seven years under Israeli law.

[Sandboxx] In the 1970s, the United States had three revolutionary fighters enter service in the F-14 Tomcat, F-15 Eagle, and F-16 Fighting Falcon. Today, two of these platforms remain not only in service, but in production, with only the Top Gun F-14 relegated to museum duty.
Today, plenty of airplane nerds (like this author) still count the F-14 Tomcat among their favorite aircraft of all time... so what gives? Why was Maverick’s ride not only retired early by very literally being fed into the industrial shredder while the Eagle and Viper continue to roll off assembly lines to this day? Whenever someone starts in with "It was the bestest, most capablest airplane ever and the people who retired it should be shot," there's probably more to the story than that.
The truth is, the F-14 Tomcat was a highly advanced fighter that was really purpose-built for a world-ending nuclear conflict. When you look back on the program, its challenges, and subsequent solutions, the image becomes a bit clearer. The F-14 made sense when we were on the verge of World War III... but without a Soviet boogeyman to keep Uncle Sam’s pocketbook upturned and shaking, it became an incredibly expensive and sometimes problematic solution to a problem nobody had anymore. And to make matters worse, only a portion of the F-14 fleet was ever as capable as most of the world believed.
But to be completely clear, it was still one hell of a jet.

The F-14 was not a fighter. It was an interceptor. Its entire purpose was not to turn and burn in the furball, but to shoot down incoming Soviet nuclear cruise missiles at maximum distance from its carrier. If it could shoot down the bombers that launched them, so much the better, but that wasn't its primary job. It was an anti-missile platform.

There was a C-SPAN video explaining it: A Carrier Air Wing composed of F/A-18 "fighter-bombers" has more flexibility/effectiveness than a composite Air Wing of F-14s and A-6s. IIRC there were also mounting problems with the reliability of both the stored AIM-54 Phoenix missiles (why we had a F-14 in the first place) and the complicated F-14 airframe.

Tomcat sacrificed on the Altar of the Hornet, along with the Intruder and Prowler. While at Strike, we had 2 Delta Toms that were Bombcats; very impressive and were in high demand for various projects. Sadly, we also had 2 very low-time A models that did not have the fuselage damage typical of fleet units (engine bay area cracks). The pentagon chose to part them out for fleet squadrons rather than pay to rework/rewire as D’s. How about maybe 300 hours with only 1 or 2 ( field) traps and 0 cat shots?

the government would work to solve supply chain issues, especially at American ports where ships are forced to wait in offshore traffic before they can get unloaded.
Last week, the Florida Ports Council put out a press release telling shippers that the state’s ports are open, staffed, and ready for business. “Florida is where your success comes in, and our seaports are the solution to ensure the cargo shipping logjam doesn’t become the grinch that stole Christmas,” said Florida Ports Council President and CEO Michael Rubin. He added, “With inflation growing, shipping and manufacturing industries can save time and money by calling on Florida ports. Why pay to moor off the coast of California, when Florida shipping lanes are open and serving as the gateway for getting goods to America’s market?”
Any rate, it is the red tape and regulations, which government is.
Perhaps, dear readers, you have noticed that during an emergency, such as a gasoline pipeline shutting down, the quickest and most effective move is suspending trucking regulations.

[IsraelTimes] An Egyptian military court upholds life sentences for 32 people accused of plotting to kill President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi and a former Saudi crown prince, their lawyer says.
The court "decided to reject all appeals" and uphold the verdict for all but two defendants, whose sentences were reduced to 15 years, Khaled al-Masry writes on Facebook.
A life sentence in Egypt is capped at 25 years’ imprisonment.
The defendants were charged with setting up "terrorist cells" that committed crimes including planning to assassinate Sissi and Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century... ’s former crown prince and interior minister, Mohammed bin Nayef.
Excerpts from a public prosecutor’s investigation in 2016 published in local media revealed the defendants were plotting to assassinate Sissi and the crown prince while they were on a pilgrimage to the Islamic holy city of Mecca in 2014.
It became locally known as the "Sissi liquidation" case.

Not quite. Cash or even bank equivalent cash devalues with inflation, making it a 'cash cow' for government. Right about 'fooling' but wrong about why.
As I understand it, the rule is not about the size of the transaction but about the size of the account - ALL transactions in accounts of greater than $600 will be subject to scrutiny.

As a steady stream of C-17s entered HKIA, PRTF personnel started tracking military and commercial flights into HKIA. "The data they were tracking was pivotal to managing airflow/airspace and requests for additional airlift support based on the numbers they got through the gates," [Lt. Col. Brian] Desautels said. On one occasion after they received an intel tip, five people onboard one of the commercial flights intended to hijack the aircraft. "Our team worked to get them clear of the NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The statement also revealed that combat aircraft on the ground were about to be swarmed when they barely managed to take off on just "a sliver of remaining runway."

[BureauOfLaborStatistics] The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.4 percent in September on a seasonally adjusted basis after rising 0.3 percent in August, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 5.4 percent before seasonal adjustment.
The indexes for food and shelter rose in September and together contributed more than half of the monthly all items seasonally adjusted increase. The index for food rose 0.9 percent, with the index for food at home increasing 1.2 percent. The energy index increased 1.3 percent, with the gasoline index rising 1.percent. Beginning in Jan 2021, the annualized rate has been above 3% with some months, e.g., March- June above 7%. Wage rates have increased during this time but only about 3-4% annualized, so, as many Rantburgers have pointed out, this acts as a tax.

Inflation is real - despite Powell's lies
The $3.5 trillion does not "pay for itself" - despite Biden's lies
The stock market is a ridiculously over-inflated bubble - despite all the idiocy and lies surrounding it
Dec. 2019 RIB EYE Steak $7.95/lb
Sept. 2021 now $14.95
Dec. 2019 80/20 Ground beef $2.38/lb
Sept. 2021 now $3.89 (packages, not tubes)
Dec. 2019 Skinless Salmon $8.45/lb
Sept. 2021 now $9.68/lb
Dec. 2019 Smithfield Bacon $2.89/lb
Sept. 2021 now $5.08/lb
Dec. 2019 Tysons Chicken Wings $2.35/lb
Sept. 2021 now when available $4.04/lb
currently "We're sorry, this item is not available."
Surprisingly PORK Meats other than Bacon, had lower inflation rates than the above in our area.
eg. Pork Loin Center cut now floating around $2.89/lb
btw: thinly slice makes a decent bacon sub.
with the obvious inflation issue you would thing the Fed would slam on the brakes but
the 5 year, 10 year and 30 year T-bond rates are about 1%, 1.5% and 2.0% respectively today
when the Fed finally wakes up to the reality there will be hell to pay in the Bond market

[KavkazUzel] Representatives of public organizations of Kabardino-Balkaria announced a shortage of textbooks for native languages in schools of the republic. It was decided to change the old-style textbooks in native languages to new ones, they have already been approved, and the new textbooks for grades 1-4 have even been printed, but it will take more time to print copies for other classes and deliver them to schools, explained the director of the publishing house "Elbrus."
The message about the shortage of native language textbooks in the schools of Kabardino-Balkaria was received by the sms-service of the "Caucasian Knot" on September 28.

They don't realize that they are adjusted to 3rd world bullshittery, and that the majority of people here are not or will be no matter how many times they look their masked face into their bathroom mirror and chant New Normal mantras.

If the Police will or cannot not honor their Oath of Office and the Elected Officials will not protect the Citizens. What is left? But for the Citizens to Arm and Protect themselves.
BTW: Starting Spraying Colored Dye on the Rioters and you will have a method of ID'ing them.

They are begging for the return of Nathan Bedford Forrest and a version of Bloody Kansas. I cannot imagine any reason except the Progresive Marxist embrace of Cloward-Piven as a window to full on revolution?

Nothing is done about this terrorism because Antifa is protected by the Dems; they are of the same fascist mindset. These are not peaceful protests despite what the MSM says.

[FOXNEWS] More than 500 pages of internal documents from DC Metropolitan Police concerning the fatal shooting of Ashli Babbitt in the Capitol on Jan. 6 reveal witness accounts stating she was not holding a weapon at the time of her death and how "upset" the officer was after shooting her.
"These previously secret records show there was no good reason to shoot and kill Ashli Babbitt," stated Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, which obtained the documents through a May 2021 FOIA lawsuit. "The Biden-Garland Justice Department and the Pelosi Congress have much to answer for the over the mishandling and cover-up of this scandalous killing of an American citizen by the U.S. Capitol Police."
Babbitt, an Air Force veteran, was shot and killed during the storming of the Capitol by a bullet fired by Capitol Police officer Lt. Michael Byrd. The documents from the DC Metropolitan Police department show that witnesses did not see Babbitt holding a weapon prior to her being shot, and reveal conflicting accounts of whether Byrd verbally warned Babbitt before shooting her.
A Capitol Police sergeant, whose name is redacted, described seeing Babbitt climbing through a broken window, but did not witness her holding a weapon, according to a portion of the documents received by Judicial Watch.
"Sergeant [redacted] observed a white, female protester was climbing through an opened area where the glass pane had been knocked out. He heard a gunshot and this female fell backwards through the opening. The crowd on the other side of the barricaded east doors, began to step back and some put their hands in the air. Sergeant [redacted] observed Lieutenant Byrd step back just after hearing the gunshot. He did not see anything in the female protester’s hands prior to the gunshot," the Internal Affairs Division report stated.
"Sergeant [redacted] never went on the other side of the barricaded east door. He also did not know that it was Lieutenant Byrd who shot his gun until he talked to him moments after it occurred. Lieutenant Byrd looked upset and stated, ’I was the one who took the shot,’" the report continued.

They bless AR-15's the way warriors used to bless their swords. I think that's quaint tradition, and far preferable to the leftist worship of armed robbery.
[CarmaGOP] It’s evident that Government controls and regulations are hazardous to you’re health. This raises a question: why do we want more and larger Government? The Government is killing us!
Love this.... and it's mostly true, so true that it hurts to know that the youth of today will never know that peace, security and tranquility we enjoyed.
[BREITBART] It’s not just getting more expensive to feed your family in the U.S.It’s getting more expensive to keep shoes on your children’s feet.
The price of boys’ and girls’ footwear jumped a 3.3 percent in September from August, a huge one-month increase. Compared with a year ago, the prices of kids shoes are up 11.9 percent, the Department of Labor’s Consumer Price Index showed Wednesday.
That’s a big burden for families struggling with higher prices for food at home, food at restaurants, appliances, furniture, and gasoline.
It’s also more expensive to shod mom and dad. Men’s footwear prices are up 5.5 percent and women’s are up 4.9 percent.
Sports vehicles, the category that includes bicycles, are up 8.9 percent. Sports equipment prices are up 5.4 percent.

Not only that, but with newspapers dying out the traditional material for patching the soles of their old shoes is in short supply.

This country is coming apart. Charles Murray is right
OK Newspapers are RACISTS and should be BANNED.
Because Newspapers are printed on White paper exploiting BLACK Ink for profit.
Plus newspapers have for 100's of years used racist terms or practices such as YELLOW Journalism, caused lynchings, racial stereotypes and worse...promoted political agendas that resulted in massive genocide.

The white race has been appropriated by the Chicago White Sox. It is same way with football and basketball. Something needs to be done about this I tell you.

Our military is sick.
Rotten, self-seeking brass.
Woke idiocy from the political leadership.
An officer class riddled with careerism, risk-aversion and extreme self-promotion.
All in the service of an outdated, irrelevant, self-destructive globalist foreign policy that has us intervening everywhere and succeeding nowhere.

Suicides within the LGBT community are well above the national average. The enlistment of LGBT people in the military is steadily increasing. Perhaps there is a corollary ?
Take someone who rightfully so got the jitters, self medicated especially alcohol (lost 2 friends to that one, one depression one overdose, nearly a third but that bottle got corked), lock them in their house for a year and a half just to see Team America get buttfKtd on international TV...yeah, I could see any and all those factors tipping the scale.
