A poetical man of New Haven
One drear Christmas Eve was still slaving,
When, up on the roof,
What a racket! Then, "Oof!"
'Twas a huge aboriginal raven.
WASHINGTON (AP) — As Russia was working to subvert U.S. elections and sow discord among Americans, Congress directed the creation of an intelligence center to lead efforts to stop interference by foreign adversaries. But two years later, that center still is not close to opening.
Experts and intelligence officials broadly agree the proposed Foreign Malign Influence Center is a good idea. The U.S. has lacked a cohesive strategy to fight influence operations, they say, with not enough coordination among national security agencies. Adversaries that tried to interfere in the last two presidential elections continue to bombard Americans with disinformation and conspiracy theories at a time of peril for democracy in the U.S. and around the world.
But the intelligence community and Congress remain divided over the center’s mission, budget and size, according to current and former officials. While separate efforts to counter interference continue, a person identified this year as a potential director has since been assigned elsewhere and the center likely will not open anytime soon.

You mean the mainstream media and the U.S. intelligence community?
Remember the Wikileaks. They were caught red-handed spying on us, which we made 100% illegal. Nobody went to prison for it.

Wow. It just seems like if foreign interference is causing so much tsuris, physical, hand-marked, in-person paper ballots could put lots of minds at rest.

Da Ferret & the rest of American Stasi are still putting the final touches on their Domestic Malign Influence Center
[Red State] Let’s just cut to the chase and dig into the crazy, shall we?
The Mankato, Minnesota, school board voted unanimously earlier this month to approve a policy to provide extra compensation exclusively to non-white teachers who become mentors to other non-white colleagues.
Nah, no way is that racist.
As reported by Alpha News, the board voted to amend district policy so that BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) teachers only may receive "additional stipends" to become mentors to BIPOC colleagues. The new policy will also provide funds for "placing American Indian educators at sites with other American Indian educators and educators of color at sites with other educators of color."
In addition to the new policy not being racist, it’s also not segregationist. [sarc]
School board member Erin Roberts ’splained, as transcribed by Alpha News:

Time to go. Let them stew in their own mess they have created. Blue run states can only fail as is currently demonstrated. Same as with woke Liberal colleges as in a few short years 50% will be no more. (I understand under ten years). Look how men have walked away. Now they see how their policies have shot themselves in the foot. They try to figure out now how to recruit men into a hostile environment. They will never go back as they have only faith in their own ideas and ideals. Bye bye.

What is fascinating is that they have convinced the gullible in the 'community' that their acts of re-segregation are wiping out, what the original Civil Rights movement was about, are for their own 'good'.

Racism is the marginalization and/or oppression of any group of people of based on a socially constructed racial hierarchy that awards privileges over another group.

... exclusively to non-white teachers who become mentors to other non-white colleagues
Given that whites seem to do better than blacks in school, would it not make more sense to assign the non-white teachers a white mentor? (Asking for a color-blind friend)
A solid point. So let's not get too mad at anyone of any race (except possibly those who are 75% white, 25% something else) for getting in on this grift while the grifting is good. Gotta' always be hustling, after all.
[American Thinker] Just three months ago, I wrote that the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America had appointed its first transgender bishop: In this case, Megan Rohrer, a woman who sliced off her breasts, kept her female name, and claimed to be a man. Now, though, Rohrer has been suspended for being a racist. Live by woke political correctness; die by woke political correctness.
It was a big deal when Megan Rohrer, a woman who claims to be a man and insists on being referred to by the pronouns "they" and "them," was installed as the Bishop of the Sierra Pacific Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. This was one of those "firsts" that simply thrill leftists. Suddenly, the left had achieved the first transgender bishop.
My feeling about Rohrer is that the woman is a monster. She has a child and had this to say about that poor, innocent thing:

[Philadelphia Inquirer] As with everything else this year, the price of passports is going up.
Starting Dec. 27, the cost of a U.S. passport book will rise $20 for all customers, the State Department announced this week. The price for a first-time or replacement adult passport will be $165; a renewal will be $130. The expedited fee, which gets you your passport weeks earlier, will remain $60.
The State Department said the fee increase is "necessary to ensure we continue to produce one of the most secure travel and identity documents in the world."
Americans are paying more for goods and services in many places, from the gas pump to the grocery store, and apparently government services are not immune. Prices across the United States rose at the fastest pace in nearly 40 years in November.
Earlier this month, President Joe Biden signed an executive order allowing Americans to renew their passports online for the first time in an effort to speed up the process. This will eliminate the need for physical documents and paper checks to be sent through the mail.
The passport system has been backlogged because of the coronavirus, causing massive delays for travelers. In October, the State Department said wait times had gone down to a range of eight to 11 weeks, or five to seven weeks for expedited services.
The White House said the order regarding online renewals could take between six to 12 months to take effect.
For now, travelers have to send their documents - and increased fees - through the mail.

[ZERO] Now that the Ghislaine Maxwell sex-trafficking trial is in the hands of the jury, lawyers representing some of Epstein's accusers are asking why just four victims were called by prosecutors (led by the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey).
"They had a mountain of evidence that they could have brought," said attorney Adam Horowitz, who has represented several Epstein victims, noting that the prosecution "had a very difficult burden and didn’t seem to put on as much evidence forward as I thought they would have."
Maxwell, who was Epstein's former girlfriend an subordinate, has been charged with grooming and enticing underage girls for sexual abuse by the convicted pedophile and his friends. He was found dead in a jail cell in 2019 while awaiting his own trial for sex-trafficking, according to Bloomberg.
If convicted, the British socialite faces up to 40 years in prison. Her lawyers argued that she's being scapegoated for Epstein's crimes.
"An acquittal wouldn’t surprise me," said Horowitz. "It’s a difficult case and [the prosecution] put on some really good witnesses, but the defense did a good a job poking holes in some of them."

Something very odd is going on. The FBI may bave lost a warehouse sized load of evidence? Her connection to a foreign intelligence agency or two seems obvious and yet its not even touched by either side seeking more details or exculpatory evidence? Im looking for something unexpected.

[IsraelTimes] Police say Ramallah resident attempted to drown his wife in the Dead Sea, and later threw acid in her face, days before trying to stab a Border Police officer at a checkpoint "I had a bad week, OK?"
Prosecutors are slated to indict on Thursday a Ramallah resident who attempted to stab an Israeli police officer earlier this month, days after assaulting and attempting to kill his wife.
According to police, the Paleostinian man in his 40s drove to a military checkpoint next to Givat Ze’ev, north of Jerusalem, on December 1. While his car was being checked by Border Police officers, he got out and advanced toward the officers while "rummaging through his coat in a suspicious manner," said police.
The suspect, who was not named by police, reached the officers while waving a knife in his hand, but after they drew their weapons on him, the man threw the knife to the side and was arrested.
During the investigation into the incident, police discovered that days before the suspect attempted to carry out the stabbing attack, he had violent mostly peacefully assaulted his wife.
According to police, eyewitnesses say the man attempted unsuccessfully to drown his wife while they were visiting the Dead Sea.
Then, as they were on their way back to Ramallah, he threw acid in her face as they were driving. She managed to escape and wash her face with water provided by a passerby, police said.
The indictment against the man on charges relating to both incidents is slated to be filed on Thursday in a military court.
Much research, including by experts in the United Kingdom and at the United Nations ...the Oyster Bay money pit... , has found that those who are likely to be radicalized have a high rate of likelihood of a connection to domestic abuse — either as perpetrators, witnesses or victims. Domestic violence is one of the most underreported crimes, meaning the true rates are likely to be higher.
[MSN] Los Angeles police fatally shot a 14-year-old girl inside a Burlington Coat Factory dressing room on Thursday when they opened fire on a male suspect inside the North Hollywood store.
The shooting suspect was also killed in the police shooting, authorities said.
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded just before noon to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.
When they arrived, "officers encountered the suspect, who was in the process of assaulting another person," Officer Drake Madison told Insider. Police then opened fire. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man and a woman were listed as deceased, but officials did not immediately clarify which victim was the suspect.
[insider@insider.com] One victim was transported to a hospital for injuries sustained during the attack, police said. Their condition is unknown.
When LAPD officers open fire, internal inquiries, as well as an investigation by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is triggered, according to NBC News.
Police said they plan to review surveillance footage amid an ongoing investigation.
A representative for Burlington Coat Factory did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
Responding officers went upstairs and found a man assaulting a woman. The police opened fire and killed the man. Police have not yet identified the suspect. Dominic H. Choi, an assistant chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, said at a news conference that officers found a heavy metal lock cable near the man, but no gun.
Officer Drake Madison, a spokesperson for the department said that the suspect was taken into custody and died at the scene.
Los Angeles Police chief, Michel R. Moore, said that the shooting was the "worst thing anyone can imagine." The police did not immediately release the 14-year-old girl’s name who had been in the dressing room with her mother trying on dresses for a quinceañera.
Nicholas Prange, a spokesperson with the Fire Department said that another woman was injured and taken to a trauma center.

gun-grabber doesn't know the law concerning the military -
Title 10 USC - The Militia
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.
Clearly every able bodied male citizen, over 17 and under 45, not in uniform are members of the unorganized militia - ie the military.

How bout one of those "national discussions" on when shop-lifters, bail-jumpers, warrant-evaders and general arrest-resisters need to be shot? None of those things are death penalty offenses. As for the ones shot while at a traffic stop, maybe one officer should boot the car while it's pulled over? Put's the person who doesn't want to be arrested on foot. As for the shoplifters, are you kidding me? Now, in the age of flash mob grab n dash?

[FoxBusinessNews] FDA issues EUA to authorize second ORAL COVID-19 antiviral, Merck's molnupiravir. The molnupiravir pill is cleared for use by adults 18 and older who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are at high risk of hospitalization or death
PARIS/MILAN, Dec 22 (Reuters) - France has cancelled its order for Merck & Co's (MRK.N) COVID-19 antiviral drug following disappointing trial data and hopes instead to receive Pfizer's (PFE.N) competing drug before the end of January, the health minister said on Wednesday.
France is the first country to publicly say it has cancelled an order for the Merck treatment after the company released data in late November suggesting its drug was markedly less effective than previously thought, reducing hospitalisations and deaths in its clinical trial of high-risk individuals by about 30%.
Merck's COVID pill loses its lustre: what that means for the pandemic
Molnupiravir was initially heralded by public-health officials as a game-changer for COVID-19, but full clinical-trial data showed lower-than-expected efficacy.

The latest daily caseload, 6,509, is more than double the total reported Tuesday. It’s unvaccinated residents who remain particularly exposed to the worst effects of COVID-19. From Dec. 5 to 11, unvaccinated Angelenos were five times likelier to get infected, 21 times more likely to require hospitalization and 18 times likelier to die.
[AlAhram] Egypt’s border guards arrested 2,267 irregular migrants colonists of different nationalities at strategic border areas over the past month, Armed Forces Spokesman Gharib Abdel-Hafez said in a statement on Thursday.
The corps also seized and destroyed tons of drugs over the last month in border areas and South Sinai, read the statement.
The drugs included 1,050kg of hashish, a drug derived from cannabis; 1,020kg of weed; 10kg of opium; 150kg of hydro; and 93,000 pills of different kinds.
In South Sinai, the forces removed narcotic plants cultivated over 90 feddans. More than nine tons of hemp, including hemp seeds, were seized and destroyed. Two hashish factories were also seized.
The border guards detected 12 tunnel portals, 230 vehicles used for the transportation of smuggled objects, 240 weapons, 120 firearm magazines, as well as 9,000 bullets, added the statement.
"This comes in continuation of the intensive efforts and all the measures implemented by the border guards round the clock to secure Egypt's borders... and intensify procedures of tightening control over all border crossings and ports of the state," the statement said.

Taguba is another nobody who it appears was fired by the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army (Gen Cody) for leaking information. Anderson and Taguba are clear failures trying to assuage their wounded pride.
Snakes that you don't see still exist. Have you ever noticed that the Army four star officer inventory historically...and currently...is predominantly composed of Officers north of the Mason/Dixon line? I was arrogantly informed by a senior staffer from the Senate Armed Services Committee that this was by design and a legacy policy dating to post Civil War concerns...and of course the Army four star selection process ensures this "policy" continues...the four stars gather and select the next four star nom for the President's approval. They are products of their liberal upbringing, enjoying the fruits of politics early with their political appointments to West Point. And guess what?...the result...many imagine themselves to be, um, political geniuses.

The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. The Pulwama Police averted a major tragedy. Acting on specific information the police along with the 50 RR and 183 BN CRPF found an IED of approximately 5 kilograms.

[NYPOST] An NYPD school safety agent was rubbed out on her 27th birthday outside a Queens nightclub early Thursday — when her beau and ex-boyfriend got into a shootout and she was struck in the fray, according to cops and police sources.
The agent, whose birthday was on Wednesday, her boyfriend and her cousin were celebrating inside Solletto on Steinway Street near Astoria Boulevard N, the sources said.
At some point, the agent’s ex-boyfriend showed up — but when he tried to enter, the bouncer stopped him because he had a gun on him, according to the sources.
When the trio walked out of the club just after 4 a.m., the agent’s ex got into a scuffle with her boyfriend, the sources said.
Both men pulled out guns and fired at each other, the sources said.
The agent was struck in the torso and leg by stray bullets, according to cops and the sources.
She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital-Queens, where she was pronounced dead. He's dead, Jim! cops said.
Her name was not immediately released, pending family notification.
Her 27-year-old cousin was also blasted by a stray slug in the left knee, and her boyfriend, who turned 27 Thursday, was struck in the buttocks and left shoulder, authorities and the sources said.
They both were taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable, pH balanced condition.
The ex-boyfriend fled after the shooting in a white BMW that was stopped in New Jersey for speeding, the sources said.
New Jersey cops did not know he was wanted for the shooting, so they confiscated the car but let him go, according to the sources.
Police were still on the hunt for him later Thursday
Gunfire also erupted on Holland Avenue near Astor Avenue in the Allerton section of the Bronx around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.
Responding officers found the victim lying on the ground, with a gunshot wound to his chest, police said.
The victim, who lived down the block from the scene, was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He's dead, Jim! His name also was not released, pending family notification.
The circumstances of the slaying are unclear.
Also on Wednesday, 27-year-old Jordan Gilliam died of injuries sustained in a shooting a week earlier at the corner of 97th Street and 57th Avenue in the Corona section of Queens, cops said.
Bullets flew in front of a deli just after 8:30 p.m. Dec. 15, striking Gilliam in the right shoulder and buttocks, police said.
A 37-year-old man was also shot in both thighs, cops said.
Both men, who are members of the Bloods gang and have criminal pasts, were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where Gilliam was pronounced dead Wednesday.
The older man remained in stable, pH balanced condition, police said.
No arrests have been made in the shooting, which may have been gang-related, authorities said.

[OneIndia] The sacrilege bid at the Golden Temple and the subsequent lynching have a clear potential of polarising people along religious lines and this could lead to unrest and trouble especially in the state of Punjab.
Captain Amarinder Singh said that foreign agencies like the ISI are active in Punjab. They coordinate with sleeper cells of various secessionist and terrorist groups. They are desperately waiting for an opportunity to exploit such a situation and strike, Captain Singh also said.
India would need to be more alert as China and Pakistain have come together. Given the geographical position of Punjab, the state faces more security challenges now, he further added.
An Intelligence Bureau official tells OneIndia that this is a clear attempt by the ISI to rake up tensions in Pakistain. The ISI has for long being making attempts to revive Khalistan terrorism in the state. They had even made attempts to infiltrate the farmer protests and ensure that the situation turns violent mostly peaceful.
The Intelligence has warned for long that the ISI and the Khalistan forces will try taking advantage of any instability in Punjab. These recent incidents are a pointer to that fact. The ISI would incite violence by undertaking such acts knowing fully that some radical elements would react in a violent mostly peaceful manner.
While the Khalistan movement has not been re-kindled the way the ISI would have wanted, the fact remains that the activities of these groups have only been on the rise off late.
Former Pakistain Prime Minister, Zulfikar Bhutto had once said that Pakistain will also have a Bangladesh carved out of India, but it would be on the Pakistain border. This was a reference that he made to Khalistan.
The NIA too had recently in its chargesheet said that the killing of Comrade Balwinder Singh Sandhu, a Shaurya Chakra awardee was part of an international conspiracy. Investigation revealed that the three gunnies against whom the chargesheet was filed were involved in conducting reconnaissance of the target and organising logistics and shelter for the shooters.
Shaurya Chakra awardee Comrade Balwinder Singh Sandhu was rubbed out by two faceless myrmidons in the early hours of October 10 2020 at the residence-cum-school run by him in Bhikiwind, District TarnTaran, Punjab. The assailants then escaped on a bike, following which a case was registered by the Punjab 1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots.... police.
Investigation has revealed that the execution was undertaken with an intention of striking terror in the minds of the people and especially those opposed to Khalistan ideology. The transnational conspiracy in the instant case was hatched by Pakistain based self styled chief of the KLF, Lakbhir Singh Rode.

[NewsFrontInfo] News Front editor-in-chief Konstantin Knyrik announced that the West was preparing a chemical attack in Donbass, he announced this on the air of the program "Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" on the channel "Russia."
Oh dear.
According to the head of News Front, the head of the Russian military department, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, said this earlier, with which he absolutely agrees.
Confirmation of this preparation Konstantin Knyrik called the massive interest of Western journalists in the events in the Donetsk People's Republic:
"The last time such activity was Western was only in 2014. Could it be that they were accredited under this provocation? Obviously, they did not go there to show the truth or tell about Ukraine's violation of the Minsk agreements, because we have never seen the truth in these publications," said the head of News Front.
We will remind, earlier the head of the department Sergei Shoigu said that in the Donbass, namely in the settlements of Priazovskoe and Avdeevka, there are more than 120 employees of private military companies of the United States. They are engaged in equipping firing positions in the homes of ordinary people and at facilities that are classified as socially significant.
American mercenaries are preparing Ukrainian special forces and radicals for active hostilities. The likelihood of provocations is high. Containers with unidentified chemical components were brought to Avdiivka and Krasny Liman.
[RIA Novosti] US planes supplied Ukraine with an "antidote" for chemical weapons back in October, then delivered the toxic substances themselves, said Eduard Basurin, an official spokesman for the People's Militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.
It was unloaded at the Kiev airport Borispol . The second shipment arrived in November.
"It (chemical weapons Ed.) arrived in metal flasks of 45 millimeters," said Basurin on the air of the TV channel "Russia 24".
According to him, now chemical weapons are stored in warehouses in the Kharkov region.
In December, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that American private military companies were planning a provocation using chemicals in the Donbass. According to him, for this purpose, "reservoirs with unidentified chemical components" were brought to Avdiivka and Krasny Liman. There are about 120 representatives of American PMCs in the region who train Ukrainian special forces, Shoigu said.
On Thursday, the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin said that Ukraine already has chemical weapons. Whether Kiev will apply it or not is "a matter of time," he noted, expressing the hope that this will not happen. The substances themselves, he said, were packaged in such a way that they can be dropped from drones.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR, which declared independence after the coup d'etat in Kiev in February 2014.
According to the latest UN data, about 13,000 people became victims of the conflict. The issue of resolving the situation in Donbass is being discussed, including during the meetings of the contact group. But even after the armistice agreements, shootings continue, in the DPR they announced the shelling of residential areas with Ukrainian heavy artillery.
Moscow has repeatedly stated that Kiev is not fulfilling the Minsk agreements and is delaying negotiations to resolve the conflict.
KYIV, Dec 22 (Reuters) - Negotiators from Ukraine, Russia and the Organisation of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) agreed to restore a full ceasefire between the Ukrainian government forces and Russia-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine, the OSCE said on Wednesday.
"I was delighted that participants expressed their strong determination to fully adhere to the Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire agreement of 22 July 2020," the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), Ambassador Mikko Kinnunen said in a statement.
Kyiv and Moscow have blamed each other in recent months for violation of a previous ceasefire, which had been agreed in July 2020 and helped significantly reduce the number of casualties last year.

The Wagner PMC is there now. It will start soon. Likely with a Wag valse grond aanval (false ground attack), possibly several, in small Russian border villages. A few Ukrainian POWs will be left dead along with many local villagers. The Russians will claim a Ukrainian GUR MOU and SBU operation on Russian-controlled territory and be forced to respond. I'll give it thirty days, probably less.

Frankly I’m surprised that they haven’t blamed the shipyard fire in St. Petersburg last Friday on sabotage. Losing a stealth corvette (Provorny) designed to carry hypersonic missiles after eight years worth of construction is a big hit. “Remember the Maine”
[IsraelTimes] Unclear if boy, who was in Israel illegally, intended to carry out terror attack
Authorities arrested a 14-year-old Paleostinian boy on Thursday in Tel Aviv’s Central Bus Station for carrying a knife.
The boy was caught after a security guard noticed him acting suspiciously near a bus departure gate and began questioning him.
The suspect was cooperative, and during the questioning the guard realized the boy was Paleostinian and asked for identification.
He found out the boy was in Israel illegally and called other security personnel to the scene. The guards patted down the suspect and found a large kitchen knife under his coat. It was not clear whether he intended to carry out a terror attack.
The guards held the suspect and called police, who took the boy for questioning.

For $hits and Giggles lets say CNN actually has the story close to right.
Who stands to win in this situation if IRAN and the Mid-east go to war?
My guess ......The CCP.
Look at all the $$$$ CCP is raking in funding the combative sides.
Plus if there is a war it reduces the CCP future adversaries greatly to a more manageable size all at NO COST to the CCP. In fact a major ROI for the CCP.
Historically, it could be said it is a over populated country looking for its version of Sudetenland Expansion.

Europe collapses if ME oil is out of play. Despite the best efforts of our home-grown communists, America has huge oil, coal and even decent uranium reserves. If we really had to become island USA, the big losers would be people who want French wine and such. We could certainly keep the light on.

...The Saudis have had Chinese-built IRBMs since the late 80s. Officially, they have conventional warheands. Unofficially, it's widely believed that there are some Pakistani bombs with the Magic Kingdom's name on them.
And officially, we have ignored those missiles since they were emplaced. One afternoon in 1995 while TDY to KSA, I brought the subject up in a meeting and was told in no uncertain terms to never, EVER bring it up again.

One of the primary reason the Iran Shia are pursuing a nuclear weapons program. This is their "near enemy."
So they already have the range for all the '-stans', Turkey and North Africa to Morocco or the Gulf of Guinea. Other than the aspect of a shiny new club what's the point?
[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] At least four migrants colonists have died after their boat was wrecked on an islet north of the island of Antikythera on Thursday, the Greek coastguard said, adding that rescue crews had mounted an operation to rescue about 90 other people.
Greece is one of the main routes into the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... for refugees and migrants colonists fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia but the most cross on rubber boats to islands close to the Ottoman Turkish coast.
Thursday’s shipwreck is the second in the Aegean Sea this week, with rescue crews still searching for a second day for dozens of asylum-seekers feared missing after their boat sank off the island of Folegandros.
Antikythera and Folegandros are not on the typical route for migrants colonists and officials said the boats, which set off from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... , were likely to have been aiming for Italia.
The United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... refugee agency UNHCR called the Folegandros shipwreck "the worst" in the Aegean this year.
"This shipwreck is a painful reminder that people continue to embark on perilous voyages in search of safety," Adriano Silvestri, the UNHCR’s assistant representative in Greece said.
"Such tragic deaths are avoidable, including through the establishment of regular and safe pathways that could prevent people from resorting to smugglers," he added.
The UNHCR estimates that more than 2,500 people died or went missing at sea while attempting to reach Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... this year.
Greece, which was the frontline of Europe’s refugee crisis when it began in 2015, has since hardened its stance and boosted land and sea patrols to deter people from reaching its shores.

[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] The oldest teenager charged with the carjacking of Democrat Representative Mary Gay Scanlon was out on bond at the time of the crime on Wednesday from stealing another car.
Josiah Brown, 19, is facing federal charges for the carjacking in Philadelphia. He already has a string of other arrests.
Along with Brown, four other teens were involved in the carjacking raning from ages 13-16 — all of whom were released back to their parents. No pics of the Perps. Damn White Supremacists! Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant. Just look at the competent way he dumped Afghanistan... called Democratic Representative Mary Gay Scanlon after she was carjacked.
“Mumble mumble mumble....C’mon, man!”
'Is the president taking crime in big cities more seriously now that a Democratic member of Congress, Mary Gay Scanlon, has been carjacked at gunpoint?' Fox News' Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki ...a valley girl who woke up one morning and found she was spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of State under Obama. A new American success story, under Biden she became spokeswoman for the whole administration, and she was even able to get her sister a job... at Thursday's briefing.
'Let me first say that we're relieved that she was not injured,' Psaki replied. 'And the president called her and spoke with her this morning, as well.'
'It is absolutely unacceptable for any American, whether they're a member of Congress or not, to be victimized by crime like that,' she added.
Brown, from the president's home town of Wilmington, Delaware, is expected to face federal charges in Scanlon's carjacking, the Delaware State Police said Thursday.
Three of the other teen carjackers were boys ages 13 and 16 and a girl aged 14. They were all charged in Delaware with receiving stolen property and were each released to their guardians on $1,500 unsecured bond.
The fifth was a 15-year-old boy charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and two counts of criminal mischief, according to police. He was taken to the New Castle County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
Brown is a suspect in several other incidents over the last few years.
Most recently, an arrest warrant was issued for Brown in March 2021 after his fingerprints matched up with those connected to a string of vehicle break-ins in Chester County, Pennsylvania in late 2020.
FDR Park, where the crime occurred, is within City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson's district, who claims carjackings are happening at all times of day and that anyone is falling victim.
'Right now in the City of Philadelphia, people feel like there's a sense of lawlessness,' he said. 'At the end of the day, you see carjackings taking place during the holiday season. We see people being robbed of their Rolexes, so at the end of the day, we have to figure out how do we get ahold of this senseless violence.'
Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said in a statement: 'It's disheartening, and quite frankly infuriating, that criminals feel emboldened to commit such a reckless crime in the middle of the day in what should be a place of tranquility and peace-one of Philadelphia's beautiful parks.'
Scanlan and Illinois State Senator Kimberly Lightfordand, both Democrats who supported police reforms in Philadelphia and reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... respectively, were carjacked just 16 apart from each other.

..I understand that, but if it doesn't cross state lines there is no reason that the feds should ever be involved. It's another example of ignoring the 10th Amendment, its a state's responsibility.

If i read the summary of the carjacking statute correctly, every carjacking could be charged federally. Massive overreach of federal power given the forgotten 10th amendment. But since I never heard of such a charge before in federal court this is clearly an example of selective prosecution for one of the special elites in our ruling class. Equity is far different than equality for our emerging aristocratic peers.
Different coverage, anyway. Mostly about his incompetence.

[IsraelTimes] Iran ...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979... has agreed to accept Ceylon tea in payment for a Sri Lankan oil debt valued at $251 million, Iranian media reports.
"In recent negotiations, we reached a written deal to reimburse Iran’s debt and interest on it in the form of a monthly shipment of tea produced in Sri Lanka," the head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization says.
Alireza Peyman-Pak is quoted as saying that "a deal was reached on Tuesday, according to which Sri Lanka will export tea to Iran every month to settle a $251 million debt for Iranian oil supplied to Sri Lanka nine years ago."
In 2016, Ceylon tea made up nearly half of Iranian consumption, but the proportion has declined in recent years.
The barter deal will allow sanctions-hit Iran to avoid having to use up scarce hard currency to pay for imports of the widely consumed staple, Peyman-Pak says.
"Iran and Sri Lanka have great potential to develop mutual trade," he says, adding that Iran’s non-oil exports to the country are valued at less than $100 million a year.
Sri Lankan Plantation Industries Minister Ramesh Pathirana says the deal "will not violate any UN or US sanctions since tea has been categorized as a food item under humanitarian grounds," according to the Economynext website.
He adds that Iranian banks that have been blacklisted under US sanctions will not be involved in the transaction.

Artillery fire from the Ukrainian armed forces has been reduced of late.
[NewsFrontInfo] The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the joint statement of the Minister of Defense and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine following the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass, as reported on the agency's website.
She recalled that measures to strengthen the ceasefire were signed by Kiev, Donetsk and Lugansk with the mediation of Russia and the OSCE and entered into force on July 27, 2020.
"All this time, Donetsk and Lugansk have observed and continue to comply with all obligations under this document and have invariably called for the same Kiev in the negotiations. In turn, Ukraine constantly evaded its implementation, continued shelling of the territory of Donbass, in September 2020 it stopped the direct interaction with Donbass provided for by the "measures" to promptly prevent firefights," Zakharova emphasized.
According to Zakharova, at the end of September, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valery Zaluzhny made a statement allowing servicemen to open fire at their own discretion. This decision was a way out of the agreements reached.
Summing up, the representative of the Foreign Ministry stressed that Russia expects that Kiev will fulfill all obligations to ensure a "sustainable ceasefire in the east of Ukraine."

The sentence was handed to the alleged suspects by Dhi Qar criminal court for their "participation in detonating cycle of violences equipped with explosives in Basra's al-Jumhuriya neighborhood which led to the death and injury of a large number of civilians."
The statement added they were sentenced in accordance with Article Four of 2005 Counter-Terrorism Law which states "anyone found guilty of committing a terror offense is given the death sentence, with life imprisonment given to those who assist or hide those convicted of terrorism."
An explosion struck Basra's city centre on December 7, killing four civilians and injuring four others.

[WFYI] Indiana officials are working on a plan that the governor’s office said Wednesday would result in taxpayers receiving $125 refund payments from the state’s growing budget surplus.
Officials had announced in July that stronger-than-expected tax collections following the COVID-19 pandemic recession would trigger Indiana’s automatic taxpayer refund process.
The distribution plan from Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb, however, aims to make more people eligible for what would be direct payments from the state rather than a credit on their state tax returns submitted next year.
Those payments to an estimated 4.3 million taxpayers will come after overall state tax revenue grew 14% for the past budget year. That pushed state government’s cash reserves to a record-high $3.9 billion as of June 30.
The state refund law’s calculation directs that $545 million be refunded to taxpayers as that process was triggered for the first time since 2012.
"We did the right thing by putting a formula together that would send that money back if it hit a certain limit," Holcomb said.
State tax collections have continued to be better than anticipated since July, leading to talk within the Republican-dominated Legislature of cutting taxes, although some are urging caution.

My guess is htey can slam these guys because half of the group were Feds and so they have lots of evidence against those they duped.
Other 'rioters' were not involved and only entered the building to take photos once the doors were flung open and they were invited in. Those are harder to prosecute as even if they did break a law the public opinion will be devastatingly against the narrative.

The Capitol Hill Jan-sixers broke a window and put their muddy boots on Pelosi's desk. They were unarmed. They didn't injure or kill anyone.
Teefa criminals

[An Nahar] U.S. officials denied Thursday that an American citizen arrested in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... for allegedly providing a fake passport to a Syrian man is a U.S. diplomat.Ottoman Turkish officials said Wednesday they detained a U.S. diplomat at Istanbul Airport on Nov. 11. Authorities in Turkey publicly identified the man only by his initials D.J.K., and said he worked for the U.S. Consulate in Lebanon Hezbollahstan ...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. ... He was later formally arrested on suspicion of selling a forged passport for $10,000.
According to a Ottoman Turkish police statement, the Syrian man was detained for questioning after he attempted to travel to Germany on a false passport, which was in D.J.K.'s name.
On Thursday, the U.S. State Department said it was aware a U.S. citizen were tossed into the calaboose in Turkey but denied the person was a government diplomat. "An agent, but NOT a Diplomat, per se..."
The State Department said the detained individual was being provided with the "appropriate consular services."
Police in Istanbul said security camera footage showed D.J.K. exchanging clothes with the Syrian man at Istanbul Airport and giving him a passport.
Police also seized an envelope containing $10,000 from the diplomat, according to the police statement.
The American was jugged Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try! while the Syrian was released pending possible proceedings for falsifying documents, Anadolu said.

[ColonelCassad] A new project "Volunteer" was launched, which is a large database of citizens of Ukraine and other states involved in the punitive operation in Donbass and the commission of various war crimes there, as well as persons who contributed to the implementation of the criminal policy against residents of Donbass.
Foreign citizens who took part in the punitive operation and contributed to it are placed in a separate section.
Also on the site, apparently, they plan to upload various original Ukrainian documents of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the NSU.
For a significant part of the persons represented on the site there are personal data, photographs and documents.
The project is necessary, but seriously overdue. So for 7 years. Nevertheless, it was done well - the scheme of work is clear, it loads quickly, the categorization is also logical. Good luck to the authors with the development of the project and its replenishment with Ukrainian war criminals and terrorists.
If you have clarifying information about the persons presented on the site or information about the persons not represented there, you can report it here

[REGNUM] The American political class is about to get into yet another self-brewed mess, this time in Ukraine, which is an ideal mixture of foreign policy mistakes and defensive miscalculations that are likely to unleash the American people in a series of future crises and conflicts.
Unwilling to acknowledge Moscow's vital interests in this former Soviet republic, the US now wants to put Kiev and NATO to a dangerous and unnecessary test by engaging in armed confrontation with Russia, albeit not a nuclear one. In turn, the United States and its allies also face a test that they could easily avoid and which they are likely to fail. First you need to turn to the facts, writes retired US Army colonel and former senior adviser to the Secretary of Defense Douglas McGregor. The superiority of the Russian ground forces is partly due to the strategic advantage of fighting close to Russia. In addition, the Russian authorities have carried out extensive military reforms and reorganizations.
During this reform process, old generals who had resisted the change were expelled from the army. A new, determined fighting force was created, consisting of young single men with a deep sense of Russian patriotism and firmness. This policy has led to the creation of an operationally flexible grouping of smaller Russian combat formations, created for the ruthless use of the striking power of Russian rocket artillery, tactical ballistic missiles and loitering ammunition.
Nonsense on stilts, as usual. The problem with Russia is the problem with all autocracies that aren't German - each and every military officer is a contender for supreme national power. Consequently, no Russian leader can afford to appoint war leaders who are to smart for his own good. They might, on their own or in concert with like-minded individuals, decide to make a run at the throne. Stalin purged his officer corps not because he was stupid and paranoid, but for prudential reasons. The penalty for being wrong is death.

Russia stands in the way of a global governance. Therefore they must be invaded and regime changed. If it kills millions in a nuclear war then so be it. We must have unite the planet under a single government so as to redistribute the wealth of countries like America over the whole world. There will be a global level of prosperity that a Pakistani manual laborer would consider acceptable.
You'll live in the pod, eat the bugs, own nothing and be happy. Or else.

#1 problem with Russia is the problem with all autocracies that aren't German - each and every military officer is a contender for supreme national power.
Huh? I get it... you mean, like that Russian military dictator, um what's his name... Oh wait: there never has been a Russian military dictator or junta. Not in 900 years. Not even in Nicholas II's time or any other Time of Troubles. Never.
This Russian's analysis isn't "nonsense." It's sensible. And what he says about Russian military reform is totally plausible. Russia's fighting on its home turf. The last twenty years have seen extensive military reform -- even as our own military leadership has become politicized, bureaucratic and hobbled by careerism.
Our Woke masters and the Russian leadership are moving in opposite directions: it's our own moronic rulers who are moving toward autocracy with the help of their completely political idiot generals and assorted brass.
Would that we could have some of this type of reform here -- emphasis on 'determined,' 'patriotic' and 'ruthlessly' focused on fighting and winning:
During this reform process, old generals who had resisted the change were expelled from the army. the United States and its allies also face a test that they could easily avoid
... easily, if they had even half the wisdom and good sense of an Eisenhower. Or even Reagan, or Bush's father. We didn't go to war with Russia over the 1956 Hungarian invasion, or the crushing of the Prague Spring in 1968, or the crackdown in Poland in 1981.
Back when our political leadership was intelligently focused on vital national interests, we carefully chose our battles. We understood that Russia has a legitimate sphere of national interest which deserves respect. GHW Bush himself saw that Ukraine lies in Russia's sphere of interest.
Our idiot political class has botched yet another foreign policy.
All they have to do to preserve our national interest is do what Ike did in 1956: nothing. Stay out.

And also because the Red Army at the time was still filled with former Czarist officers who Trotsky had to hurriedly recruit in 1919 because nobody else knew how to do the job. Almost twenty years later a lot of these guys had reached the upper ranks - and, because Trotsky had recruited them in the first place, they were viewed as "Trotskyites." And you know the OTHER mid-century mustache man wasn't going to have that. Still, he didn't actually kill most of them (waste not, want not), and reinstated 30% or soonce the Germans invaded.
[PJMedia] Yet another young Coptic Christian girl recently "disappeared" off the streets of Egypt, and yet again the only ones to be punished were the Copts themselves.
On Dec. 2, Marna Barsoum ’Aziz, aged about 15, disappeared on her way to a private tutoring lesson. Immediately her family contacted and pled with police to find and retrieve her. When two days had passed with the police displaying nothing but apathy, the Copts of al-’Amoudain village in al-Minya, where the girl hails from, gathered together to stage a protest against both the disappearance of yet another Christian girl and the police’s lack of concern. They held signs and chanted "Marna must be returned to us" and "We want our daughter back."
To this, police were quick and zealous to respond. They descended on the village, and, according to eyewitnesses from the girl’s family, "in order to disperse the protest, police opened fire on us with tear gas," which prompted "loud screams from the women and a state of panic in the village." Police further arrested and hauled off 22 Coptic protesters during the clash. They were duly accused of "causing sectarian strife" and "illegal resistance of public authorities."

[LIBYAREVIEW] Libyan Oil Minister, Mohammed Aoun has accused the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla of wasting $3 billion dollars in public money in favour of foreign companies."Since October 2010 and based on Sanalla’s instructions, the NOC’s Accounting Department has written to foreign companies to keep more than $3 billion dollars, as though they were interest-free loans," he said in press remarks.
"I have no personal disputes with the NOC’s Chairman. I didn’t know him personally before I was assigned to the ministry. The real problem with Sanalla is that he does not implement laws and official decisions. This is in addition to his flagrant and unprecedented violations never before seen in the history of the Corporation," Aoun noted.
The minister also criticized the Prime Minister’s absolute support for Sanalla, "who misunderstands the laws, which is evidenced by his writings which clearly misinterpret the laws. Until today, the law enforcement authorities have not taken any action regarding Sanalla’s violations, which neglect the wealth of the Libyan people."
In August, Aoun suspended Sanalla from work and referred him for investigation. However, some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them... the NOC announced that the Administrative Control Authority had invalidated the decision.
The dispute escalated between two officials after Aoun took over the oil ministry, which was supposed to be responsible for managing the almost sole income source of the country.
Libya’s oil production is currently about 1.3 million bpd, and may increase to 1.8 million bpd in the coming year.

[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] Belgium will shut all seven of its nuclear reactors by 2025 but will not close the door on new-generation nuclear technology, according to a deal reached by the coalition government yesterday.A government source said the all-night negotiations included an agreement of "investments of around 100 million euros (US$113 million) on small modular reactors."
Progressively phasing out nuclear power has been enshrined in Belgian law since 2003. The final date is 2025, a target the government committed to meet when it took office in October 2020.
But the issue has divided the governing seven-party coalition of greens, socialists, and Prime Minister Alexander De Croo’s liberals.
The French-speaking liberal MR party argued against completely abandoning nuclear power, the strategy proposed by Phlegmish green Energy Minister Tinne Van der Straeten.
They said some of Belgium’s current nuclear capacity should be retained as new gas-fired power stations planned to secure energy supplies were too polluting.
Belgian broadcaster RTBF reported that a ministerial meeting agreed to invest in "renewable and carbon-neutral energies," including new-generation nuclear power.
The government source said the budget for investing in the technology had already been prepared.
The source added the compromise retains the energy minister’s "scenario A" and "confirms the investment mechanism put in place to replace current nuclear power, which is obsolete."
Nuclear power has also divided other EU member states as the bloc wrangles over including it and natural gas on the bloc’s list of sustainable energy sources eligible for investment. The list exists to promote greener energies and facilitate the transition to a carbon-neutral future.
Internal market commissioner Thierry Breton on Monday said he expected the list to include nuclear power and natural gas when it is presented in January.
But critics say nuclear power is not climate-friendly and should be phased out in favor of other energy sources.

[Khaama] United Nations Security Council unanimously passed resolution 2615 proposed by the United States and allowed money to flow to Afghanistan for humanitarian purposes.
The resolution with changes in the draft was proposed by the US after China, Russia, Britain, France, and India opposed the country’s first resolution in this regard.
Based on the new resolution, the US will ease financial restrictions on Afghanistan for humanitarian purposes and will allow the Taliban official and their entities that are involved in the process.
US special representative for Afghanistan Thomas West welcomed the move by UNSC and said that they along with the international community are united in support of the Afghan people.
"This morning, the UNSC also unanimously passed resolution 2615, drafted by the US and designed to enable broader support for the basic needs of the Afghan people." Reads a Twitter post by West. "The table was immaculate"
In the meantime, UNAMA has also welcomed the decision and said in a Twitter post that it will facilitate the delivery of urgent humanitarian help to millions of people in Afghanistan.
UNAMA also called on the De facto authorities in Afghanistan and the international community to accelerate necessary next steps to support needs and rights of the Afghan people.

[IsraelTimes] Illinois authorities voted on Wednesday to divest state pension funds from Unilever, the parent company of Ben & Jerry’s, which announced earlier this year that it would cease selling its products in the West Bank.
Illinois joins a handful of other states that have made the same decision, thanks to legislation passed in a majority of states that penalizes companies that boycott Israel or its settlements in the West Bank. Arizona, Florida, New Jersey and New York were ahead of Illinois in the decision.
At least three other states have launched reviews required to ultimately divest their pension funds as well.
As of October, the list of those states investigating the thing were New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Maryland, and Rhode Island.
The Illinois Investment Policy Board vote to add Unilever to the state’s prohibited entity list was unanimous, with seven members voting in favor and none against. The total value of the state’s pension funds was not immediately clear.
In July, Ben & Jerry’s announced that it would no longer distribute its products in the "Occupied Paleostinian Territory," apparently referring to West Bank settlements and East Jerusalem. Ben & Jerry’s boycott policy will come into force when its agreement with the local manufacturing and distribution licensee expires at the end of 2022.

Illinois has a lot of retirees that receive the state pensions. The vast majority of those folks are pro-Israel and anti-terrorist, unlike their leading politicians' current stance. The Policy Board is most likely made up of such folks, hence the decision. I'm sure some left-wingers in Springfield will seek to overturn this decision.
(Illinois' state pensions are so woefully underfunded that it's scandalous but that, children, is a story for another day)

[Garowe] Heavy fighting ... as opposed to the more usual name-calling or slapsy... has resumed in Bossaso, the commercial capital of Puntland ...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion... , just hours after the regional government declared a ceasefire, amid pressure from local and international partners, who raised concerns about the conflict.
The conflict began following a deadlock over the control of Puntland Security Forces [PSF], a key ally in the fight against terrorism that soared after president Said Abdullahi Deni sacked PSF director Mohamud Osman Diano on November 24.
Witnesses said fighting re-started late last night in the vicinity of PSF headquarters in Bossaso that caused a new displacement of residents ongoing in the city, in what could further trigger a humanitarian crisis in Somalia's northeastern Federal State.
Puntland government is blaming sacked PSF director for inciting violence in the port city, which links Puntland to the rest of the world. In a statement, Puntland's presidency accused Diano's loyalists of shelling residential areas.
"The Puntland government declares that the former PSF director is inciting violence in Bossaso by indiscriminately shelling the city with PSF arms," read the statement, which comes hours after both sides pledged to embrace ceasefire.
"The Puntland government reiterates that it is giving time to efforts to bring a peaceful end to the situation in Bossaso," the statement further read.
Puntland government has declared a ceasefire on Wednesday, a move which was welcomed by President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmaajo and a host of Puntland leaders led by former Presidents Abdirahman Farole and Abdiweli Gaas as well as ex-PM Omar Abdirashid Sharamarke.
On Wednesday, the US Africa Command, which has been training PSF, also warned about the violence, arguing that it could trigger a resurgence of al-Shabaab ...... the personification of Somali state failure... in the country. US Africa Command hailed PSF as a tough force in counterterrorism.
Puntland security minister, Abdisamad Mohammed Galan, announced the cease-fire Wednesday, saying the decision was made after intervention from traditional elders, scholars, and business leaders who urged that the fighting be stopped.

[AlAhram] A would-be jacket wallah was rubbed out Thursday outside Kabul's main passport office, police said, as hundreds of Taliban ...Arabic for students... fighters lined up for travel documents on a day reserved exclusively for their applications.
"He was identified and killed at a checkpoint at the entrance," Mobin Khan, front man for Kabul police, told AFP.
There have been several attacks against Taliban fighters since their return to power in August -- most claimed by the local chapter of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group.
Around 200 Taliban fighters had gathered at the passport office from dawn after authorities announced that Thursdays would be set aside exclusively for them to apply for passports.
It was unclear why the fighters wanted passports -- or where they planned to travel to -- as security operatives barred news hounds from interviewing them.
Civilians who arrived to process their applications were held back or sent home by Taliban security, who also tore up documents of some as they pressed to enter.
"Issuing passports to the Taliban members was cancelled due to overcrowding," said Qari Shafiullah Tassal, a front man for the office.
...but definitely not because of stray ears and bits of intestine strewn across the landscape...
Many people were also falsely claiming they had Taliban links, he told AFP.
Taliban fighters were also given the opportunity Thursday to apply for passports in the southern city of Kandahar, according to an AFP news hound there.
Taliban authorities stopped issuing passports after the hardline Islamic group returned to power on August 15, citing staff issues, faulty equipment and a lack of supplies.
Operations resumed on Sunday but hundreds of thousands of Afghans are desperate to flee a growing humanitarian crisis in the country.
The Ministry of Interior Affairs said that an attack was stopped in front of the passport department on Thursday afternoon in Kabul.
An early message to media from a government source said there had been a boom-mobile, but this was later changed.
The Interior Ministry tweeted the following:
"An attack was prevented in front of the Central Passport Department in Kabul. This afternoon, an attacker who tried to enter the Central Passport Department was eliminated by the security personnel of the Central Passport Department. No one was killed or injured in the attack."
"Before the (attacker) reached his goal, he was targeted and eliminated. The attack took just minutes and ended up with the killing of the attacker," said Alam Gul Haqqani, head of the Passport Department.
Earlier, a front man for the Kabul security department, Gen Mobin told TOLOnews that the attack was due to a boom-mobileing.

[IsraelTimes] Suspects were detained in Israel after allegedly attacking PA security forces amid ongoing popular unrest
Israel this week handed over two Paleostinians wanted by Ramallah to Paleostinian security forces, according to a report Wednesday.
Kan news said the two are suspected of attacking Paleostinian police in the Bethlehem area earlier this month, hurling an bomb at them. The incident occurred during local celebrations for the release of a security prisoner by Israel, when Paleostinian forces arrived to confiscate Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, flags waved at the event., leading to some rioting.
The two suspects were arrested in Israel in recent days for entering illegally. They were handed over to the Paleostinian Authority on Tuesday, the report said.
Kan noted that while Israel hands over suspects wanted by the PA from time to time, such steps are usually taken quietly.
The West Bank has recently seen an uptick in violent mostly peacefulfestivities between Paleostinians on the streets and PA security forces.
The Paleostinian Authority has suffered deteriorating legitimacy for months. In April, PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase.... indefinitely delayed scheduled Paleostinian national elections that would have been the first in 15 years. While Abbas blamed Israel, most observers agreed that he sought to avoid an embarrassing loss to his rivals in his own Fatah faction and Hamas.
Hamas saw skyrocketing approval ratings among Paleostinians following its May battle with Israel. Paleostinians contrasted the so-called "resistance" pursued by the terror group — which fired thousands of rockets at Israeli cities and towns from its Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... stronghold — with Ramallah’s policy of coordinating with Israel, which many Paleostinians say has failed to achieve their demands.
Israeli officials have vowed to strengthen the Paleostinian Authority by easing its ballooning deficit and making some policy concessions. But none of the steps taken thus far appear to have shored up the PA’s waning popularity.
[IsraelTimes] Qassem Asafra and cousin Nasir Asafra, a Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, member, stabbed the student to death in West Bank
Two snuffies who killed an Israeli teenager in 2019 were sentenced to life imprisonment on Thursday.
Qassem Asafra was handed an additional 40-year sentence, and Nasir Asafra an additional 20 years.
Dvir Sorek, 18, was stabbed to death near the West Bank settlement of Migdal Oz in August 2019. He was a yeshiva student enrolled in a program known as hesder that combines Torah study with military service. He was off-duty at the time of his killing.
Qassem Asafra was also convicted of an attempt to kill two Israelis in a 2011 terror attack in Beersheba, which he had not been caught for at the time.
The military has said that Nasir Asafra was a member of the Hamas terror group. The two convicts are cousins.
Sorek’s body was found on a road leading to the religious seminary where he was studying.
The attackers expeditiously departed at a goodly pace but were apprehended in the town of Beit Kahlil after a 48-hour manhunt.
The attackers told Sherlocks they killed Sorek due to "the suffering of the Paleostinian people" and "the situation at al-Aqsa [Mosque]," according to transcripts of their interrogation obtained by the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.
They planned the murder ahead of time, drove to an intersection and waited for an Israeli to attack, they said.
Nasir Asafra attacked Sorek after he got off a bus, first attempting to subdue him with a stun gun, then repeatedly stabbing him in the chest, he said.
"He tried to defend himself by covering his face and upper body with his hands. Then he remained still and didn’t move and I got into the car," the attacker told Sherlocks.

"Our exhaustive investigation found the allegations credible, deeply troubling, but not criminal under New York law," Smith said.
The unidentified trooper, who was serving as one of Cuomo’s bodyguards at the time, told James’ Sherlocks that Cuomo ran the palm of his left hand across her belly as she was holding a door open for him, according to James’ report.

After her election, she joined the New Democrat Coalition, the Blue Dog Coalition and the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, amassing one of the most conservative voting records in the Democratic caucus. She won the 2018 Senate election to replace the retiring Jeff Flake, defeating Republican nominee Martha McSally. Sinema is the first openly bisexual (meaning she's not particular) and the second openly LGBT woman to be elected to the House of Representatives and to the Senate in 2012 and 2018, respectively. She also was the first woman elected to the Senate from Arizona.... (D-AZ) recently wrecked President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences. So does Afghanistan, aka Biden's Bungle...... ’s hopes of destroying federal election integrity laws by not supporting HR1 or ending the Senate filibuster. Senator Joe Manchin ...Dem senator-for-life from West Virginia. Manchin is one of the approximately one (okay, two) Dem senators who exhibits more integrity than Jello, often even representing his constituents... (D-WV) just crushed Biden’s hope of getting his Build Back Better (BBB) massive spending bill passed.
Biden has been pushing to radically federalize elections, in spite of the Constitution.
"If we can get the congressional voting rights done, we should do it. ... There’s nothing domestically more important than voting rights," said Biden.
Sinema has also singlehandedly burst Biden’s desperate attempt to weaken election integrity laws by stating she will protect the 60-vote filibuster threshold.
Fifty Senate votes are needed to trash the filibuster. If the filibuster is terminated, a simple majority vote could be held to destroy election laws.

The polling is really bad for her
She won’t make it out of the primaries
Our Appalachian brothers and sisters are hardly going to get excited about being driven into poverty by the BBB's climate hoax insanity just so some coastal swells can obtain indulgences from Gaia to excuse their private jets.
And the sturdy, sensible folks of the hilltops and hollows are unlikely to be persuaded by the ravings of a pack of skeeves better suited to riding around in a panel van offering puppies and free candy to passing pre-teens.
