Over the past day, the IDF says troops killed dozens of button men in festivities, tank shelling, and by calling in Arclight airstrike

s to Shejaiya.

One strike in Shejaiya was carried out against a terrorist who launched rockets at the southern community of Nahal Oz yesterday. The IDF says the terrorist was identified and struck two minutes after the attack on the border community.

The pinpoint operation in Shejaiya, launched on June 27, is being carried out by the 98th Division.

Meanwhile,

the IDF says dozens more terror operatives were killed and several booby-trapped buildings were destroyed in southern Gaza’s Rafah over the past day, amid operations by the 162nd Division.

And in central Gaza’s Netzarim Corridor, several more button men were killed by troops with the 99th Division, including a cell attempting to plant bombs, the military says.

Amid the ground operations in Gaza, the IDF says fighter jets and drones carried out more than 50 strikes across the Strip, including booby-trapped buildings, cells of button men, and rocket launchers.

Fifth Column
Hostage posters ripped off wall outside Congressman Brad Schneider’s office
[IsraelTimes] Act comes a week after Schneider’s house was picketed; he blasts ‘vile act of hate’

Vandals tore down Israeli hostage posters hanging outside the Capitol Hill office of Rep. Brad Schneider, an Illinois Democrat, a week after pro-Paleostinian activists used megaphones and drums to protest outside his home in the middle of the night.

"My Capitol office was vandalized yesterday in a vile act of hate in which the posters of the more than 100 people still held hostage in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. (including 8 Americans) were ripped from the wall, shredded and tossed across the hallway," Schneider, who is Jewish, posted Friday on X, attaching a photo of the posters scattered on the floor.

A spokeswoman for Schneider said the vandalism had been reported to the Capitol Police.

The vandalism comes a week after an Illinois-based group called Direct Actions for Paleostine staged a rally of about 40 people shouting slogans through megaphones and banging on drums outside his home at 2:30 a.m. in Highland Park, a suburb of reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
with a large Jewish population. "If we don’t get no justice then you don’t get no sleep," the crowd chanted.

The group posted the video on Instagram with the caption, "If Gaza can’t rest, neither will you."

The group accused Schneider of being complicit in "genocide" because he has voted for emergency defense assistance for Israel and to defund UNRWA, the UN agency that administers relief to Paleostinian refugees and their descendants, and some of whose employees Israel has accused of working with Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
Schneider in an interview said the timing of the protest outside his home, early Saturday morning during Shabbat, and the Jewish neighborhood gave it antisemitic overtones.

"The level of antisemitism we see growing is truly concerning," he said. "A majority of the residents in my neighborhood are Jewish. The demonstrators who came in the middle of the night passed a couple of houses that have signs, ’We stand with Israel,’ ’Bring the hostages home now,’ with mezuzahs on most of the doors."

The same group also protested outside the home of Illinois’ Jewish governor, JB Pritzker.

Schneider is one of the highest profile Jewish Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
in Congress, and is known as an outspoken supporter of Israel. Before his election, he had leadership roles in the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the American Jewish Committee.

Police in Highland Park dispersed the crowd and did not make arrests.

The vandalism outside his office comes after a number of pro-Paleostinian groups held protests on the Fourth of July in a number of cities, including New York and Washington.

"This was a shameful act on any day, but especially on July 4, our country’s Independence Day," Schneider said on X. "Sadly, it was but one of many hateful, un-American actions that took place across the country on the day we celebrate freedom and democracy.

Iranian-born Norwegian man found guilty of terror attack at Oslo LGBTQ festival
[IsraelTimes] Zaniar Matapour, who had sworn allegiance to ISIS, sentenced to 30 years after killing two people and seriously wounding nine in the Norwegian capital in 2022

An Iranian-born Norwegian man was found guilty of terrorism on Thursday in a 2022 attack on an LGBTQ+ festival in Oslo and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Two people were killed and nine were seriously maimed in the shooting at three locations, chiefly outside the London Pub, a popular gay bar, on June 25, 2022.

The Oslo District Court said Zaniar Matapour shot 10 rounds with a machine gun and eight shots with a handgun into the crowd. It said Matapour had sworn allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group and "has been radicalized for several years."

His 30-year sentence was the highest penalty in Norway since terror legislation was changed in 2015.

Matapour can request parole after 20 years but can only be released if he is deemed no longer dangerous.
If he's dead he's no longer dangerous. Just saying...
Prosecutor Aud Kinsarvik Gravås called it "the right outcome" and "a historically severe punishment." Matapour’s lawyer, Marius Dietrichson, said it was "a severe punishment" and that they have not yet decided whether to appeal.

Espen Evjenth, who was hit by a bullet in the forehead at the London Pub, told the Norwegian news agency NTB that it was "a great relief."

Extensive video material of the attack had been presented in court. The verdict was not read in court but sent out electronically. Matapour would have the verdict read to him in prison, the court said.

Matapour was overpowered by bystanders after the attack and arrested. Following the attack, a Pride parade was canceled, with police saying they could not guarantee security.

The shooting shocked Norway, which has a relatively low crime rate but has experienced a series of "lone wolf" attacks by individuals in recent decades, including one of the worst mass shootings in Europe. In 2011, a right-wing holy warrior killed 69 people on the island of Utoya after setting off a bomb in Oslo that left eight dead.

Six days before the attack, Norway’s external intelligence agency, E-Tjenesten, learned from an undercover agent that a possible action was expected in a Nordic country and the information was passed to the domestic security service.

Matapour had pleaded innocent.
No, no! Certainly not!
He was examined by a court-appointed psychiatrist who concluded that he was sane at the time of the attack.

During the trial, both the prosecution and the defense agreed that Matapour fired into the crowd and there was no disagreement that the shooting was terror motivated. However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
Dietrichson had sought acquittal, saying his client had been provoked to carry out the attack by an E-Tjenesten agent who was pretending to be a high-ranking member of the Islamic State group.

The court said that "it is clear that the actions of the E-Tjenesten did not involve any illegal provocation" and "did not provoke an act of terrorism that would not otherwise have been committed."

The trial started in March and ended May 16. Four others are suspected of complicity in the case, but none have been formally charged.

Greek police arrest 7 over attacks in May on Israeli hotel and synagogue
[IsraelTimes] Four suspects, including two Iranians, accused of racially-motivated arson attack; another three arrested for throwing flammable materials at Athens synagogue

Greece’s anti-terrorism police have arrested seven people over arson attacks against an Israeli-owned hotel and a synagogue in central Athens this year, police said in a statement on Thursday.

A 25-year-old Greek woman, two Iranians, aged 46 and 36, and an Afghan accomplice, 44, were arrested over a May 15 attack with a makeshift incendiary bomb on a building housing an Israeli-owned hotel and restaurant.

The four were accused of arson that could potentially put human lives at risk and of causing damage to foreign-owned property in a racially motivated attack.

In another incident on June 18, a 44-year old Greek man and a 26-year-old Afghan rode near a synagogue in Athens on a cycle of violence and threw flammable material at its entrance causing fire, police said. A police official said a 30-year-old Iranian had been arrested as their accomplice.

The three were accused of arson, gun possession and robbery among other violations, the official added. Police have seized evidence including mobile phones found in a residence in Athens and a prison.

Five of those arrested have been detained and two have been released on restrictions while awaiting trial.

In March 2023, Greek police arrested two men suspected of being members of a group that planned an arson or kaboom against an Israeli restaurant and the same synagogue in Athens. The Mossad praised Greece for foiling the attack, accusing Iran

Two IDF soldiers lightly wounded in Hezbollah rocket barrage on Kiryat Shmona
[IsraelTimes] IDF strikes multiple terror targets in Lebanon as cross-border fire persists in the north

Two IDF soldiers were lightly maimed Friday evening and a building was damaged by a rocket impact in the northern city of Kiryat Shmona, the military said, as Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel continued.

The terror group launched a barrage of several rockets at the north, including some five rockets at Kiryat Shmona, some of which impacted the city and caused damage.

The IDF said fighter jets struck a Hezbollah rocket launcher in Marwahin and an observation post in Houla.

Earlier it struck a Hezbollah anti-aircraft system in southern Leb

Iranian reformist Pezeshkian wins presidential election
[IsraelTimes] Iranian reformist Masoud Pezeshkian has won the run-off presidential election, the Interior Ministry says.

A few hours earlier:
Moderate Pezeshkian expected to win Iran’s presidential race, Iranian source says

[IsraelTimes] The low-profile moderate Masoud Pezeshkian, who has pledged to open Iran to the world and deliver freedoms its people have yearned for, is expected to win the run-off presidential vote, an Iranian source tells Reuters.

“The vote counting has ended and the rival candidates have been informed about the result. Pezeshkian is around three million votes ahead of his hardline rival Saeed Jalili,” says the source, who asked not to be named.

Earlier, the interior ministry said that Pezeshkian was leading the race in early results, adding that the initial reports showed turnout was around 50%, higher than the first round.

The run-off follows a June 28 ballot with historically low turnout, when over 60% of Iranian voters abstained from the snap election for a successor to Ebrahim Raisi, following his death in a helicopter crash.

The vote is a tight race between low-key lawmaker Pezeshkian, the sole moderate in the original field of four candidates, and hardline former nuclear negotiator Jalili, a staunch advocate of deepening ties with Russia and China.

Videos on social media showed supporters of Pezeshkian dancing in streets in several cities and motorists honking car horns to cheer his victory.

IDF foils Hamas Shejaia ambush, stops terrorists from reestablishing foothold in area
[JPost] In the central Gaza Strip city of Deir al Balah, Hamas terrorists embedded a rocket launcher in a humanitarian area.

The IDF continued to push forward in the Gaza City neighborhood of Shejaia over the past day, succeeding in eliminating numerous terrorists, terror infrastructure, and weaponry, the IDF stated on Saturday morning.

In one incident in the north Gazan neighborhood, combat team troops from the 7th Brigade and the Paratroopers Brigade, operating under the command of the 98th Division, battled terrorists who had attempted to ambush and fire upon the troops, the IDF added.

By the end of the engagement, Israeli forces reportedly successfully eliminated all of the terrorists without sustaining any casualties.

During other operational activities in the area, engaging other armed squads of terrorist fighters and destroying weapons and infrastructure both above and below ground.

In another incident, an Israeli air strike killed three terrorists armed with RPGs.

Separately, in the southern Gazan city of Rafah, several terror squads were eliminated, including one cell which, after firing at troops in the area, was targeted by airstrike.

The IDF also reported locating and destroying several subterranean terror structures and confiscating military equipment and weapons in the vicinity.
Rocket launcher embedded in humanitarian area

In the central Gaza Strip city of Deir al Balah, Hamas terrorists embedded a rocket launcher in a humanitarian area, the IDF added.

The launcher was reportedly located near civilian shelters.

The IDF noted that it subsequently took numerous measures to ensure that its precise strike on the launcher would have minimum impact on civilians in the area.

The military noted that among these measures was a pre-warning given to the civilians in the area and operating according to real-time intelligence.
Attempt to reestablish a foothold in Shejaia stopped

Later, the IDF added details on what its personnel had found in the Shejaia area.

The military noted that it had found subterranean tunnel shafts that contained weapons, including long-range rockets. The IDF theorized that this indicated an attempt on behalf of terrorists in the area to reestablish a base there.

The IDF also reported that it had uncovered and destroyed buried charges in the area.

Speaking on the military's discoveries, 890th Battalion commander Major Omer said, "We found a lot of enemy infrastructure here: anti-tank missiles, long-range missiles that can reach the center (of Israel) as well, [and] various types of mortars that fire on the border areas, and we have neutralized this threat."

The IDF's discovery of terrorists' attempt to reestablish a base in Shejaiai comes as it continues operational activity of its reinvasion of the area, where it first established operational control in January of this year.

Last week, the IDF reported that in its reinvasion of the neighborhood, it managed to operate more completely in the area and penetrated more of the Hamas tunnel network there.

Africa Subsaharan
The Immigration War No One Talks About
[American Thinker] The present world we see today can be traced back to a war that is almost unknown in America, yet had it turned out differently — and it almost did — much of the world problems were see today might not exist.

The Dutch Boers (lit: farmers, also called Afrikaners) in South Africa fled inland, away from the Cape Colony, after the British took it over in 1814. They did not want to live under British rule.

The Dutch did not like the imposition of English language and culture. They resented the abolition of slavery. (Where have we heard that before?) But it was more than slavery.

The Boers were primarily the descendants of Dutch, Huguenot, and German Calvinists. In the 1830s, these Dutch farmers left the then-British Cape Colony and headed for the interior, where they would form the Orange Free State and the Transvaal Republics.

This was called the Great Trek, and it became the stuff of legend. The arduous journey and settlement of the interior paralleled the American conquest of the West. Great paintings were made; books were written about it.

The Boers were religiously conservative Calvinists. Their leaders carried bibles with them. Admittedly, some took it a bit too far — Paul Kruger misinterpreted the bible to conclude that the Earth is flat — but they were overall quite admirable.

But the British kept interfering with them. They could not let the Boers go free. The English tried to interfere with us, too. They impounded our sailors, a cause of the War of 1812. They tried to persuade the Republic of Texas not to join the Union. They tried to interfere in our Civil War.

Only the Boers were too few to fight back.

In 1881, the Boers won the First Boer War, which secured their independence, though the British claimed they were still a vassal state. The British had expected the Boers to remain backward rubes, annoying, but mostly inconsequential. So to London, their "independence" was deemed a minor concession.

Only gold and diamonds were being found in the Boer Territory, and incredible amounts of wealth fell into the hands of the Boer — rather than the British, who wanted it for themselves.

So tens of thousands of British subjects poured into the Boer Republics to stake their claim. The Dutch Afrikaners called them Uitlanders (Outlanders, foreigners). The Boer government would not enfranchise them. They knew that to do so would destroy their Dutch Afrikaner republics.

This was clearly a manufactured crisis, similar to those who would ask Israel to give the Palestinians a right of return that would demographically destroy the Jewish state.

The British wanted those diamonds and gold, and they used every trick in the book to claim that the Boers were oppressors.

At first, they tried to overthrow the Boers in the Jameson Raid of 1895. The Boers caught wind of the plot and thwarted the raid.

The British would not let up, and in 1899, they started moving armies to the border to threaten the Boers.

With no other choice, the Boers pre-emptively struck, and for three years, the world saw a few heroic Boers make a monkey of the mighty British Army. The British had to create concentration camps, where Afrikaner women and children were held — and often starved — to force a surrender.

IT SCANDALIZED THE BRITISH
What prompted this war was major British money. Cecil Rhodes, a former prime minister of the British Cape Colony and a mining magnate and conspirator in the Jameson Raid, along with a few London bankers, wanted complete control of all the gold and the diamonds. Those diamonds and gold could finance Rhodes’s elitist dreams for world British control.

Rhodes wanted to bring America back under British rule.

In die grafika: The Voortrekker Monument is located just south of Pretoria in South Africa. The granite structure is located on a hilltop, and was raised to commemorate the Voortrekkers who left the Cape Colony between 1835 and 1854. It was designed by the architect Gerard Moerdijk. On 8 July 2011, the Voortrekker Monument was declared a National Heritage Site by the South African Heritage Resource Agency.

'Die Stem' - National Anthem of SA, 1957-1994 (No longer taught or sung in official functions).

The Diagnosis is In, and Joe's Not Going to Get Well
[American Thinker] Many moons ago, while conservative pundits were blaming Sleepy Joe’s odd behavior on his brain aneurysm surgeries, I said, "No." All we can clearly see is a narcissistic sociopath with a mixed pattern dementia in the early stages. Prefrontal dementia seemed to explain his hair sniffing and bursts of anger. Since I have not examined the Occupant of 1600 and am a real doctor, not one who plays a doctor on TV, I declined to go further. Calls for more videos fell on deaf ears.

As time passed, I commented that Joe clearly had an "organic brain syndrome." This means that most of what we see comes from biological changes in the brain, not psychiatric illness. Meanwhile, Joe avoided prolonged exposure to cameras and microphones, so we didn’t have much to go on.

Then, a column on the "The Free Press" website posted a note from an academic neurologist who felt that his survival required that he remain anonymous. We know how accurate anonymous sources can be (sarcasm alert), so I was rather cautious until I compared this neurologist’s comments with my education and training, mixed with a liberal dose of Joe’s performance at the debate.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Reinstates Unstaffed Drop Boxes Ahead Of 2024 Election
As predicted, the logistics of voter fraud has begun.
[ZERO] In a 4-3 decision that reverses their own 2022 prohibition on unmanned dropboxes, the justices agreed with Democrats who argued that the Wisconsin Supreme Court had previously misinterpreted the law in its 2022 ruling, and wrongly concluded that absentee ballots can only be returned to a clerk in their office, and not to a drop box that is located elsewhere.

"What if we just got it wrong?" said Justice Jill Karofsky during May arguments. "What if we made a mistake? Are we now supposed to just perpetuate that mistake into the future?"

Attorneys representing Republican backers of the 2022 ruling argued that there have been no changes in the facts or the law to warrant overturning the ruling that's less than two years old.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Nightmarish moment 100 robbers ransack gas station in hellhole California city
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] … days after progressive mayor touts drop in crime.

A jaw-dropping video shows the moment nearly 100 robbers ransacked a California gas station in the middle of the night.

Surveillance footage displays dozens of masked and hoodie-wearing thieves taking their sweet time to grab as much as they can carry just after 4:30am on Friday at the station in crime-ridden Oakland.

The raid came just days after Oakland's progressive mayor bragged about a drop in crime in the hellhole city.

The operation appeared to be well-planned with all hell breaking loose after a car was deliberately driven into the glass doors of the store.

No sooner had the crash occurred, the robbers were on scene and ready to snatch anything they could, turning the place upside down in the process.

Meanwhile, the police were nowhere to be seen with the robbers seemingly taking their time.

In video footage, those taking part in the robbery could be heard laughing as they casually perused the aisles of the store looking for stuff to take.

The owner, named Sam, called Oakland Police Department upon arriving at the 76. He was allegedly told to 'file a report online.'

The owner told KRON4 then he then attempted to contact the OPD Police Chief Floyd Mitchell only to be told that he had to make an appointment.

Police later clarified that the call to law enforcement came after the suspects had left the premises.

'Video evidence was later reported to OPD that made clear the scale and details of the incident, including the large number of suspects, and the incident was immediately elevated to a Priority 1 incident, which prompted an officer to go to the scene to make contact with the owner, and investigators are now reviewing evidence and working directly with the gas station owner,' OPD said in a statement.

Just days earlier, Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao, 38, had been boasting of a reduction in crime in the city which has been blighted by criminality in recent years.

The progressive Democrat lawmaker is the first mayor in the city's history to be up for recall, after a campaign to oust her gained more than 40,000 signatures.

Arabia
Sayyid Abdul-Malik held phone call with PIJ Secretary-General Ziad al-Nakhaleh
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
, praised the steadfastness of the Paleostinian people and their valiant resistance.

During a phone call with PIJ Secretary-General Ziad al-Nakhaleh, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi emphasized the Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i people’s commitment to their stance and continued support for the Paleostinian resistance until the aggression against Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
ceases.

Al-Nakhaleh briefed Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi on the overall situation of the resistance in Paleostine, particularly in Gaza, highlighting the performance of the resistance and the bravery of the mujahideen in confronting the Israeli enemy on the ground.

He also updated him on the ongoing efforts to reach an agreement aimed at ending Zionist aggression and the extermination campaign waged by the occupying entity against the Paleostinian people.

Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi and the Secretary-General of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
(PIJ) discussed the current situation in Paleostine and the course of Zionist aggression against Gaza.

Al-Nakhaleh expressed gratitude for the significant and vital role played by the Yemeni people in supporting the Paleostinian cause and backing the resistance in Gaza against Zionist and Western arrogance.

-Great Cultural Revolution
Nashville school shooter Audrey Hale's manifesto can't be released because victims' families have copyright
[NY Post] Hiding the psycho shit to protect mental illness
A lengthy manifesto written by Nashville school shooter Audrey Hale
…more fully Audrey Elizabeth Hale, unhappy former student of the Covenant School and wannabe fake boy, who was shot dead by police fourteen minutes after she started massacring students and staff to actualize her learnt hatred of whites, Christians, and all the usuals…
won’t be released to the public because its copyright now belongs to her victims’ loved ones, a judge has ruled.

Families of the three children and three staffers gunned down last year by Hale, 28, at the private Christian Covenant School can block media outlets’ access to the writings, Chancery Court Judge I’Ashea Myles ruled Thursday night.

"The original writings, journals, art, photos and videos created by Hale are subject to an exception to the [Tennessee Public Records Act ] created by the federal Copyright Act," Myles wrote in court documents.

The ruling comes after Hale’s parents transferred ownership of her writings — which include 20 journals, a "memoir" and suicide note — to the families of the people she murdered in a bid to keep them out of the public eye.

The victims’ loved ones then argued in court that they should be allowed to determine who has access to Hale’s musings, which news outlets and other groups believe will offer clues into her disturbing motives.

Interest in Hales’ writings stem from the assertion by police that she was "assigned female at birth" but may have identified as a transgender man.

Some have speculated that Hale may have hated the Christian belief system at the school, which she formerly attended.

But the judge also found that the risk of inspiring copycats by releasing her manifesto was of "grave concern."

"Hale used the writings of other perpetrators in similar crimes to guide how this plan was constructed and accomplished, mimicking some not only in their methodology, but also choice of weapons and targets," Myles wrote. "Hale even held past perpetrators out as heroes in their attacks, idolizing them."

Some of the victims’ families cheered the ruling on Friday.

"The last year and a half without Cindy has been difficult. But today brings a measure of relief in our family. Denying the shooter some of the notoriety she sought by releasing her vile and unfiltered thoughts on the world is a result everyone should be thankful for," the family of Cindy Peak, a 61-year-old staffer killed by Hale, said in a statement.

A records request for Hale’s writings — which were collected during a police investigation — were previously denied, prompting several groups to sue.

Along with news outlets, a gun rights group, a law enforcement nonprofit and Tennessee State Sen. Todd Gardenhire also demanded that Hale’s writings be released.

Armed with two rifles and a handgun, Hale killed 9-year-olds Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney in March 2023.

She also gunned down school staffers Cynthia Peak, 61; Katherine Koonce, 60; and Mike Hill, 61, before she was fatally shot by police.

Myles’ ruling is expected to be appealed.

Critics said her finding is a blow to government transparency.

#6  Definitely not a lawyer, but my pitiful understanding is that if you make it, it is yours and you hold the copyright.

From the US Copyright Office:
When is my work protected?

Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device.

Even though something is copyrighted, Fair Use still applies:
Under the fair use doctrine of the U.S. copyright statute, it is permissible to use limited portions of a work including quotes, for purposes such as commentary, criticism, news reporting, and scholarly reports.

So excerpts of the "manifesto" could be reported, but I suspect the whole thing is too appalling, even in small bites.

#7  Anything written, spoken, or recorded is automatically copyrighted by the producer of that material. Legal copyright only certifies the ownership and rights granted to copyrighted material. The original copyright belongs to Ms. Hale. How her heirs decide to distribute them is up to them. The "judge" is creating copyright law that doesn't actually exist, and needs to be called on it.

To the west of Georgievka, fighting continues on the eastern outskirts of Maksimilyanovka and in the forest belts to the south in the vicinity of the N-15 highway. Further south, in the Pobeda area, units of the Russian Armed Forces carried out several local attacks, occupying forest belts adjacent to the village.

In Praskovyevka and to the north near the Svinyachya gully, no changes in control zones have been observed on either side. Fighting is also underway on the southeastern outskirts of Konstantinovka: assault groups of the Russian Armed Forces have already entered the territory of the settlement, but it is difficult to confirm their consolidation there due to the lack of objective control personnel.

The situation in the area of the Ikryanaya and Shirokaya gullies, as well as the railway, has become clearer: in a few weeks, Russian troops have been able to advance significantly, occupying several large strongholds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. At the same time, attacks continue, and by now the advance towards the T-05-24 highway may be even greater.

The enemy in this area is not sitting idle and regularly launches counterattacks, including with the use of armored vehicles. At the same time, the area here is very remote from large populated areas, which affects the logistics of both the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian Armed Forces, especially in conditions of high intensity of UAV use.

There are no large-scale actions recorded in the Ugledar area, but footage of airstrikes on high-rises in the enemy-occupied city has begun to appear online again. However, this hardly means preparations for a new assault, since strikes along the entire front line occur daily.

Avdeevka direction: heavy fighting and advance of the Russian Armed Forces in several areas.

In the Avdeevka direction, as a result of several successful attacks, Russian troops have significantly expanded their zone of control in almost all areas of the direction.

In the Novoaleksandrovka area, units of the Russian Armed Forces are breaking through enemy defenses in the direction of Vozdvizhenka along the C050906 highway and Lozovatskoye through fields and forest belts. Although it is too early to talk about storming populated areas, certain successes have already been achieved on the approaches to them.

Between Novoaleksandrovka and Sokol, Russian troops are advancing along the railway, occupying landings to the north and south. The status of stopping point #8 is still unclear: according to some sources, the Russian Armed Forces have already advanced further west to Progress, while according to others, fighting is currently underway for it.

North of Sokol, Russian troops had previously captured a large stronghold and continued moving north, driving the enemy out of the western part of the Samoylovka gully. According to some information, the forest belt to the west is also already under the control of the Russian Armed Forces, but this information has not yet been confirmed.

Sokol itself is under the stable control of the Russian Armed Forces, and clashes are taking place in the eastern part of Yevgenovka. According to some reports, fighting has also broken out on the eastern outskirts of Voskhod. In this area, the enemy is very active and often counterattacks, actively using UAVs.

In the fields between Sokol and Novopokrovskoe, the Russian Armed Forces have also been recorded advancing westward toward the road between Novoselovka Pervaya and Sokol. The advance assault groups have already reached the forest plantations near the highway, but it is not yet clear whether they have managed to gain a foothold there.

South of Novopokrovskoe, Russian troops are fighting their way to the eastern outskirts of Novoselovka Pervaya, both along the O0542 highway and through the fields to the C0518107 highway. North of Umanskoe, the Russian Armed Forces have also managed to advance slightly as a result of a successful attack.

12:55 Around 10.50 Moscow time stopped an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using an aircraft-type UAV against targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Aleksandro-Kalinovskoe direction: advance of the Russian Armed Forces in Novgorodskoye, battles in Druzhba and at the junction of Kirovo-Artemovo.

Russian troops continue to consistently and with heavy fighting break through the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Dzerzhinsky agglomeration.

In the Druzhba area, after initial successes, they did not go deeper into the urban development and moved north from Magdalinovka station along Sadovaya Street: judging by the footage from the enemy side, the Russian Armed Forces occupied part of the buildings on the street.

To the east, between the outskirts of Druzhba and the pumping station, there is a small ravine, most of which has also been occupied by Russian troops. The positions on the western bank of the Seversky Donets-Donbass Canal are still under the control of Ukrainian formations, but given the tactical situation, they are already in a semi-encirclement.

There have been no assaults by the Russian Armed Forces on the eastern outskirts of Kirovo (Pivnichnoye). This part of the village is a low-rise private sector, which is currently being actively attacked by artillery and aviation. To the east there are fairly large minefields, which are difficult to move through.

Fighting is underway south of Artemovo (Zaliznoye) and Kirovo. Earlier, Russian troops occupied summer houses and a block to the east of Zheleznodorozhnaya Street and Kharkovskaya Street in Artemovo, but new footage confirms the start of fighting in the high-rise buildings on Yuzhnaya and Novaya Streets in Kirovo. The block has already been repeatedly hit, but is still defensible.

The Novgorodskoye area is currently recording the largest advance of the Russian Armed Forces, the result of a week of active assault operations. Russian assault groups have occupied the territory of the Zheleznaya station and also moved along the street of the same name to the east to the cemetery. Neighboring school No. 18 remains under enemy control for now.

To the west of the Krivoy Torets River, the tactically important height 182, as well as the village of Yuryevka, came under the control of Russian troops, which in the long term could significantly worsen the situation of Ukrainian formations in this area.

At the same time, the situation in this area remains difficult: the advance zone is located in a lowland relative to the fields on both sides, and this area itself has been heavily mined since 2014-2015. However, the latter also complicates a counterflank attack from the enemy itself, although its possibility cannot be completely discounted.

They repelled six counterattacks of assault groups of the 31st, 47th Mechanized, 95th Airborne Assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the assault brigade "Lyut" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The enemy lost up to 490 servicemen, three tanks and two vehicles. During the counterbattery battle, three 122mm D-30 howitzers and a 100mm MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun were destroyed by artillery fire.

In addition, the settlement of Sofiyivka was attacked by UAVs. And the settlements of Podo-Kalinovka and Velyki Kopani were attacked by guided aerial bombs - two houses were destroyed. As a result of the aggression of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 1 person was wounded.

During the night, the Kiev regime continued to shell civilian infrastructure in the villages of Stara Zburyevka, Kardashinka, Kakhovka, and Bolshaya Lepetikha, firing a total of 18 rounds from cannon artillery.

Fadeyev approved the consideration of the case of riots in Makhachkala in Kuban
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] It is better to transfer criminal cases on acute issues to other regions, said the head of the Human Rights Council, Valery Fadeyev, commenting on the trial in Armavir on the case of riots at the Makhachkala airport.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on February 17, relatives of the participants in the riots at the Makhachkala airport appealed to Putin with a request for leniency. They stated that their detained relatives were victims of a provocation and made a mistake. The authors of the appeal noted that some families do not have the opportunity to travel to court hearings in Krasnodar Krai, where the case of the five defendants was transferred. Lawyers noted that the transfer of the case to Kuban can be appealed, but success is unlikely.

The Armavir City Court has twice postponed the start of the hearing of the case of the riots at the Makhachkala airport against five defendants - Anvarbek Atayev, Islam Ibragimov, Magomed Omaraskhabov, Rabadan Radzhabov and Salik Ramazanov. The arrest of the accused has been extended until December 30.

The head of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) Valery Fadeyev today announced the advisability of transferring the cases of unrest at the Makhachkala airport to Krasnodar Krai.

"I think it is appropriate because people always remain people, there are different interests of political influence. <...> In such complex processes there will always be those who want to warm their hands on them, therefore it is better to transfer such sensitive topics to other regions," TASS quoted him as saying at a press conference in Makhachkala.

A total of 134 people are under arrest in the case of riots at the Makhachkala airport, two more are under house arrest, the accused claim that they were at the airport, but did not take part in the riots, said the chairman of the Dagestan Public Monitoring Commission Shamil Khadulaev on June 13. According to him, the case of the five accused was the first to reach the court, the rest of the cases are at the investigation stage or in the prosecutor's office. It is necessary to publicly punish in Dagestan those whose guilt in attacking police officers and damaging airport property has been proven, and being at the airport  does not lead to criminal liability, emphasized lawyer Arsen Magomedov. In their opinion, transferring the case to the Krasnodar Territory is illogical, since all the accused are from ordinary families and cannot influence the court.

Recall that on October 29, 2023, mass riots occurred at the Makhachkala airport due to the announcement of the arrival of a plane with passengers from Israel. More than 20 people were injured in the riots, including nine police officers. By January 12,  administrative cases of more than 900 people accused in connection with the riots had been received by district courts of Dagestan.

Chechen activists assess risks for Khalitov
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The publication of threats from Adam Kadyrov against blogger Khasan Khalitov does not reduce the risks for the critic of the Chechen authorities living abroad, but serves as further confirmation of the involvement of the Chechen authorities in the kidnapping of his relatives, said a political scientist and human rights activist interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, the kidnapping of relatives of the Chechen blogger living abroad, critic of Ramzan Kadyrov, Khasan Khalitov, is revenge for his call to the Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya, Ayshat Kadyrova, threats to Khalitov were made by the son of the head of Chechnya, Adam, human rights activists interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" are sure. They expressed concern for the condition of the blogger's relatives, especially his elderly father. Earlier, Khalitov said that the authorities had summoned his father and two brothers to Grozny for a talk several days ago, since then their whereabouts are unknown.

On October 2, 2023, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that his eldest daughter and Chechen Minister of Culture Aishat Kadyrova would become Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya for the social block. His son Adam, who turned 16 in November, became widely known after a video of the beating of Volgograd resident Nikita Zhuravel, arrested in the case of burning the Koran, in a pretrial detention center. After that, Adam Kadyrov received many awards, in November 2023 he was appointed to the post of head of the security department of the head of Chechnya, and in the spring he became the curator of the Russian University of Special Forces, according to the reference "The Main Thing About Kadyrov's Personnel Policy".

The kidnapping of Khalitov's relatives or other people who disappeared in Chechnya can only be the work of the Chechen authorities, a Chechen political scientist believes.

“And the threats against him, published by Khalitov, are additional confirmation of involvement,” he noted.

According to the political scientist, the publication of threats cannot reduce the risks for Khalitov and his relatives. "The Chechen authorities have come to believe in impunity, and this is confirmed by the Kremlin's reaction to the crimes committed there," he said.

A representative of "Vayfond" Muhammad Abdurakhmanov is sure that the impetus for the threats was a call from blogger Ayshat Kadyrova. "After this call, Khalitov received a call from Ayshat's husband. And then Kadyrov's son Adam called back and threatened to kill Khasan within two weeks. Without a doubt, the kidnapping of relatives is connected with this latest incident. And with Khalitov's activities in general. But this dialogue served as an escalation," he said.

He believes that publicizing the threatening conversations will not protect Khalitov in any way. "The threat has not diminished. Because after the start of Kadyrov's men and the Russian special services in general have been acting aggressively. They are not restrained by any international obligations. They can openly eliminate their opponents and, one might say, have declared war on them and the West," Abdurakhmanov said.

"Kavkazsky Uzel" also wrote that Khasan Khalitov had previously repeatedly complained about the persecution of his relatives in Chechnya. In particular, on January 27, 2022, he said that his father  was fired from his job and his sister was forced to close her business.

On January 24, 2022, Khalitov received a photo of his naked sister, who was kidnapped in Chechnya along with her husband in December 2021. According to the blogger, the person who sent the photos threatened to make them public if Khalitov did not stop criticizing the Chechen authorities.

Khalitov's sister was not kidnapped or photographed naked, the blogger's relatives said in a video message, calling on him to stop criticizing the republic's leadership. According to human rights activists, Khalitov's relatives recorded the videos  under pressure  and threats.

From December 22 to 24, 2022, Kadyrov critics  Tumso Abdurakhmanov, Minkail Malizayev and Khasan Khalitov reported the kidnapping of relatives in Chechnya; there were also reports of the kidnapping of relatives of Vayfond founder Mansur Sadulayev and human rights activist Aslan Artsuyev.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: July 5, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 22:38 During the day, five Kh-59 guided air missiles and seven reconnaissance drones were shot down by air defense systems in the south of Ukraine: four ZALA, two Supercam and one Orlan-10, the Air Force reported.

22:34 Russians dropped two guided aerial bombs on Selidovo in Donetsk Oblast - at least five people were killed and eight were wounded, OVA head Vadim Filishkin reported. Both bombs hit the territory of enterprises. 15 private houses, 21 cars, four stores and an industrial building were damaged.

22:25 Zelensky said that he had a telephone conversation with Keir Starmer on the day of his appointment as the new Prime Minister of Great Britain. "We coordinated positions before the NATO summit in Washington and other international events and discussed the continuation of bilateral cooperation, in particular the preparation of an unprecedented 100-year agreement between Ukraine and Great Britain," the president said.

21:19 Marine Le Pen said that if her party representative Jordan Bardella becomes prime minister, he will prohibit Ukraine from using French long-range weapons to strike at Russian territory. In addition, according to her, he will not allow French troops to be sent to Ukraine.

20:46 Zelensky thanked Germany in an evening video address for the delivery of the third Patriot air defense system, and the United States for "another step to strengthen our air defense, our Patriots." In addition, the president said that today he held a meeting on the Ukrainian missile program, and also took part in the work of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Ukraine to support communities and companies in the face of severe electricity shortages.

"There are already changes to the legislation that have been prepared and will be voted on. There are government decisions. There are new credit programs - completely interest-free loans for people and cheap and loyal loans for businesses. All this should start working as soon as possible," the head of state said. According to him, negotiations with European partners on increasing the volume of electricity imports and restoring energy facilities are also continuing.

19:57 On Saturday, July 6, hourly shutdown schedules will be in effect throughout the day, Ukrenergo reported. From 17:00 to 22:00, three queues of hourly shutdown schedules will be in effect, and at other times, two queues.

19:31 More than 1,080 cultural and historical sites have been destroyed, damaged or looted by Russian troops during the full-scale invasion, Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin said. According to him, a specialized unit is investigating about 70 criminal cases of war crimes against cultural heritage. Among them is the destruction of the Grigory Skovoroda Museum in the Kharkiv region.

18:58 Russia is losing a naval center in Crimea, Ukrainian Navy Commander Oleksiy Neizhpapa told Reuters: "This logistics center was created over many decades, perhaps centuries. And now they are obviously losing it." He recalled that Ukraine has destroyed or damaged 27 warships, five of which were destroyed as a result of detonation of sea mines laid by Ukrainian naval drones near Sevastopol Bay.

Neizhpapa is also confident that the F-16s will allow the expansion of the corridor for merchant ships in the Black Sea, since they will deprive the Russian Federation of its advantage in the sky: "The F-16s with the appropriate weapons will be able to push back Russian military aircraft. The northwestern part of the Black Sea, especially the corridor for civilian ships, will be almost 100% protected."

18:37 Guerrillas from the Atesh movement have announced that they have stopped the movement of trains carrying North Korean ammunition near Yekaterinburg. According to them, the railway track on the Trans-Siberian Railway, along which North Korean ammunition was being delivered, was blown up.

18:14 Russians shelled the village of Komar in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk Oblast - at least one person was killed and 20 were wounded, said the head of the OVA Vadim Filashkin. The enemy dropped three guided bombs on the village - 13 private houses, four stores, two multi-story buildings, two infrastructure facilities and an administrative building were damaged. In addition, there is information about two killed and two wounded in Selidovo. Another person was killed and one wounded as a result of the shelling of Ukrainsk.

17:28 Putin, at a joint briefing with Orban in Moscow, again stated that Russia demands the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the entire territory of the Kherson, Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions to begin negotiations on ending the war. At the same time, the Russian Federation is ready to discuss other peace conditions. "There are other peace conditions, they are the subject of consideration in the course of possible joint work," Putin said.

Orban, in turn, said that the positions of Ukraine and Russia are "far apart." According to the Hungarian prime minister, he realized this after talks with Zelensky and Putin. Orban said that "Europe needs peace," and he discussed with Putin "achieving peace in Ukraine and the shortest path to this." And Hungary's main task in the coming six months of its presidency of the EU Council will be "the fight for peace."

16:59 There is a radical change of power in Ukraine's key ally, Great Britain. The Conservatives have lost to the Labour Party in a landslide. The leader of the Labour Party, Keir Starmer, has officially become the new Prime Minister. Starmer is the first Labour Prime Minister in 14 years and the seventh Labour Prime Minister in history. What Ukraine can expect is discussed in the article Britain Has a New Prime Minister .

16:31 NATO countries will agree a substantial package of support for Ukraine at the Washington summit, Stoltenberg said: "I expect the heads of state and government to agree a substantial package for Ukraine." The secretary general added that NATO would also coordinate and deliver most of the international security assistance, with a command led by a three-star general and several hundred staff based at NATO headquarters in Germany and at logistical hubs in the eastern part of the Alliance.

16:18 The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated that Orban's visit to Moscow is taking place without agreement or coordination with Kiev. "We remind you that for our state the principle of "no agreements on Ukraine without Ukraine" remains unshakable, and we call on all states to strictly adhere to it," the statement said. The Foreign Ministry named the Peace Formula as the only realistic way to restore a fair peace.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that "Ukraine remains constructively disposed to further work on the development of bilateral cooperation and European integration following the visit of the Hungarian Prime Minister to Kyiv."

16:07 Russian publics write that in the Rostov region, a Mi-28 was shot down, which took off to intercept Ukrainian drones. The emergency landing caused a powerful fire - the fire engulfed about 500 sq. m.

15:49 US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink said that the issue of strengthening Ukrainian air defense should be considered during the NATO summit in Washington: "I expect there will be announcements about air defense, which is extremely important to you, especially at this time, both to protect the front line and to protect cities, and also to protect the energy infrastructure here, which is what we are doing."

15:25 In Lviv, schools will start the academic year on August 19, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi announced. According to him, this is due to the difficult situation with electricity. It is assumed that in the event of a complete blackout, all Lviv schools will become 24-hour points of invincibility. However, if the situation with electricity stabilizes in winter, schools will operate as usual.

Libyan Supreme Court Orders Retrial for Saadi Gaddafi in Murder Case
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The family of the murdered Libyan footballer Bashir al-Riani has vowed not to "forfeit his blood" after the country’s Supreme Court overturned the acquittal of Saadi Qadaffy in the case.

Saadi, the son of the late Libyan leader Muammar Qadaffy
...a proud Arab institution for 42 years, now among the dear departed, though not the dearest...>
, was previously acquitted by the Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
Court of Appeals in April 2018 of charges related to al-Riani’s torture and murder in 2005. Despite the acquittal, Saadi remained imprisoned until his release on 6 September 2021, after which he reportedly left for The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
.

In a video statement, al-Riani’s son announced that the Supreme Court had overturned Saadi’s acquittal and accepted an appeal against it, returning the case to the Tripoli Court of Appeals. He asserted this decision as proof of Saadi’s guilt and vowed to pursue justice until the trial is completed.

There has been no comment from Saadi’s supporters regarding the Supreme Court’s decision. However,
the way to a man's heart remains through his stomach...
Ahmed Nashad, a Libyan lawyer and head of the defence team for Abdullah Senussi
...former Libyan supremo Muammar Qadaffy's right hand man. He looks like you always expected Luca Brasi to look....
, former intelligence chief under Qadaffy, explained that overturning Saadi’s acquittal requires a new trial at the Tripoli Court of Appeals.

Al-Riani was found dead in 2005 near Saadi’s seaside residence. Saadi was accused of torturing and killing him, though accounts of the incident vary widely.

In June 2014, former Attorney General Abdelkader Jumaa Radwan referred Saadi’s case to the indictment chamber of the North Tripoli Primary Court after concluding the investigation.

Saadi Qadaffy, now 50, had a brief football career in Italia before leading an elite military unit. After the 2011 revolution that toppled his father’s regime, Saadi fled to Niger but was extradited to Libya in 2014 and tossed in the clink
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
. His release in 2021 followed a court order issued two years earlier.

A former political official close to the Government of National Unity speculated that Saadi’s release was politically motivated, part of broader efforts to free several former regime figures. He noted that many Qadaffy loyalists remain imprisoned despite court orders for their release.

The Government of National Unity stated that Saadi’s release was executed in collaboration with the Attorney General’s office, honouring a prior judicial decision.

Al-Riani’s son hailed the Supreme Court’s ruling as a testament to the fairness of the Libyan judiciary, reaffirming the family’s commitment to seeking justice.

How the Huffington Post Delivered the Final Nail in the Coffin of the Biden 'Cheap Fake' Narrative
[TOWNHALL] With Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
’s mental health becoming a top 2024 issue, Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
are in a bind. The June 27 debate was an unspinnable disaster. Biden can’t de-age, and it’s unlikely he’ll get better as the campaign season becomes even more grueling. He was still gassed after nearly two weeks of rest and vacation following two rudimentary presidential trips overseas before the debate and still got destroyed by Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
. On top of voters thinking he’s too old, some top Democrats and donors remain laser-focused on trying to remove him from the ticket. For now, Biden has resisted the calls for him to step aside. Still, the Huffington Post opted to publish this insane opinion piece which ironically blows up the ’Biden is a victim of cheap fakes’ narrative.

That line already got obliterated in the debate, but this is a desecration of a corpse material here. The liberal publication suggested that artificial intelligence should be used to make Biden sound less old. That’s right: the Democrats should basically create cheap fakes of Biden’s speech skills to deceive voters [emphasis mine]:

The stakes of the 2024 presidential election cannot be overstated. With Donald Trump promising to act as a dictator "on day one," it is not hyperbolic to say the future of American democracy hangs in the balance. Against this backdrop, the Biden campaign faces a critical challenge: conveying a strong and effective image of President Joe Biden to a population and media ecosystem increasingly focused on optics over substance. Given the president’s concerning performance last week, it’s time for the Biden campaign to consider leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to effectively reach the voting public.

[...]

Joe Biden is old and has had a lifelong stutter. He acknowledged in a fiery
...a single two-syllable word carrying connotations of both incoherence and viciousness. A fiery delivery implies an audience of rubes and yokels, preferably forming up into a mob...
rally following his debate performance: "I might not walk as easily or talk as smoothly as I used to." This has impeded his ability to communicate with mass audiences with consistent success. AI augmentations and video renderings could serve to smooth out these bumps while allowing the Biden campaign to effectively disseminate true information about the state of our democracy and the Biden administration’s accomplishments. The president has limited time to campaign as he also focuses on running the country, and AI would be a cost-effective and efficient way to communicate his message personally and directly to voters.

[...]

Reasonably, some may challenge the use of AI as dishonest and deceptive, but the current information ecosystem is arguably no better. It may even be worse. Media outlets like the New York Post have engaged in sharing deceptively cropped viral clips of the president, dubbed ’cheapfakes,’ to make him appear confused or weak. Though no excuse for Biden’s weak debate performance, CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
elected to allow Trump to lie for the full 90-minute debate with zero fact-checking. They offered fact-checking over an hour after the debate, which realistically, a mere fraction of the debate audience stayed tuned for. Social media outlets like Instagram and TikTok have cracked down on political content, while rightwing billionaire Elon Musk has used Twitter to amplify false information about the election and boost Republicans. Even once great institutions like The Washington Post have transitioned into Murdoch-style tabloids.

Mossad officials 'optimistic' after returning from latest hostage deal talks in Doha - report
[JPost] The delegation, led by Mossad chief David Barnea, returned after Hamas officials told Hezbollah that they would agree to a proposal that would lead to a ceasefire.
Okay, dear Reader: what’s the over/under on how quickly that falls apart, if it actually gets as far as being put in place? I put my money on two hours, but I don’t think at this point Hamas is capable of sufficient discipline to get that far, putting the actuality into negative numbers.

IDF: 7 Palestinian gunmen killed, including cell behind roadside bomb, in Jenin raid
[IsraelTimes] Troops surround home in northern West Bank where pair behind killing of Cpt. Alon Sacgiu were holed up; four armed men killed in drone strike amid operation

Seven Paleostinian button men, including members of a cell behind a deadly roadside kabooming attack last week, were killed in a dronezap and in festivities with troops in the northern West Bank city of Jenin on Friday morning, the Israeli military said.

The Israel Defense Forces said troops of the Duvedevan commando unit and Kfir Brigade’s Haruv reconnaissance unit raided Jenin following intelligence provided by the Shin Bet on the location of the cell that killed Cpt. Alon Sacgiu and maimed 16 other soldiers on June 27.

The special forces encircled a building in Jenin where Hammam Hashash, 23, and his brother Harith Hashash, 19, — who according to the IDF were behind the roadside kaboom — were holed up, and carried out a tactic known as "pressure cooker" that involves escalating the volume of fire directed at a building to force suspects to come out.

The soldiers fired several shoulder-launched missiles at the building and exchanged fire with the two button men, a military source said.

The pair were eventually killed in the festivities, the IDF said.

A third member of the roadside kaboom cell was killed by Border Police troops in Jenin on Wednesday, according to the military.

Separately, amid the operation, the IDF said the troops clashed with other terror operatives, and a dronezap was carried out against a cell of four button men that was identified in the area.

The IDF published footage of the dronezap. Since October 7, the IDF has carried out some 55 Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in the West Bank, using drones, attack helicopters, and fighter jets. Those strikes have killed more than 90 terror operatives, and dozens more were maimed, according to the military.

In all, seven Paleostinian button men were killed in the operation on Friday — including two in the building, four in the airstrike, and another gunman in festivities — according to the IDF.

The Paleostinian Authority health ministry also reported seven dead.

In addition to the Hashash brothers, the other five men were named by the ministry as Ahmed Amouri, 20, Qusay Hazouz, 23, Fouad Ashqar, 25, Yassin al-Aridi, 30 and Muhammad Jabareen, 54.

Images posted to social media showed some of the men brandishing assault rifles, indicating they were members of local terror groups in Jenin. Another picture of al-Aridi’s body showed him wearing a headband with the logo of Hamas

’s military wing.

Since October 7, troops have arrested some 4,200 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,750 affiliated with Hamas.

According to the Paleostinian Authority health ministry, more than 560 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed in that time. The IDF says the vast majority of them were button men killed during raids or hard boyz carrying out attacks.

During the same period, 22 Israelis, including security personnel, have been killed in terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank. Another five members of the security forces were killed in festivities with terror operatives in the West Bank.

#9  The Houthi movement itself began in the nineteen nineties when a small knot of insurgents calling themselves "the Believing Youth" was created under the leadership of Hussein Badr al Din al Houthi. The politico-religious movement, active in Amran and Sa'ada provinces, was determined to seek regional autonomy and revive Zaidi shiism, a sect whose dominant belief is that only descendants of the Prophet Mohammad can be legitimate Muslim rulers. (The Hashimite Imamate ruled Yemen for centuries before a coup ended its rein in 1962.) The Zaidi opposed Yemen President Saleh; though he was a member of the sect, he did not have the Hashimite bloodline required to assume leadership. In addition, the Houthi believed that for decades the Zaidi had been marginalized economically, and thus the movement was determined to take a bigger bite of Yemen's (minuscule) economic pie. And now there is practically no pie, and continued air attacks will ensure that once again Yemen will be rushing pell-mell backward to the 14th century.

'We are a firing squad.' Czech mercenary of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is on trial for looting in Bucha

[REGNUM] "The whole world is with us!" is one of the favorite slogans of Ukrainian propaganda in recent years. However, the trial currently taking place in the Czech Republic shows that foreign mercenaries have become part of this "whole world", and some of them have shown themselves to be marauders in Ukraine.

Insurers fret over possible terror attacks, AI hacks at upcoming Paris Olympics
[IsraelTimes] Israeli delegation to Games considered potential flashpoint due to tension over war in Gaza and general risk of Islamic terrorism.

Insurers are nervous that terrorist attacks or AI-generated fake images could derail the Gay Paree Olympics, risking event cancellations and millions of dollars in claims.

Insurers faced losses after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics were postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since then, wars in Ukraine and Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
and a spate of elections this year, including in La Belle France, have driven up fears of politically-motivated violence at high-profile global events. The Olympics take place in Gay Paree from July 26-Aug 11 and the Paralympics from Aug 28-Sept 8.

German insurer Allianz is insurance partner for the Games. Other insurers, such as the Lloyd’s of London market, are also providing cover.

The possibility of Islamist attacks are the top security worry for the Games, the Gay Paree chief of police said last month.

"It’s such a large event... in a very large city, which in itself is quite difficult to police," said Andrew Duxbury, head of contingency at insurer Beazley.

La Belle France has said it would move its opening ceremony from the River Seine if a specific security risk was confirmed.

A man was arrested in May in the French town of Saint-Etienne, suspected of planning an attack in the name of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
at the city’s soccer stadium during the Olympics.

FLASHPOINT
Another flashpoint could be the Israeli team, insurance sources said. Israel will participate in the Games amid its ongoing war against Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
in Gaza, sending more than 80 athletes to compete in a variety of sports.

Marcos Alvarez, managing director for insurance ratings at Morningstar, said an attack leading to loss of life, property damage and business interruption could "add several billions" to estimates of $3 billion in insurance losses if the Tokyo Olympics had been cancelled due to COVID-19.

The 1972 Munich Olympics saw Paleostinian gunnies kill 11 Israeli athletes and coaches at the Olympic Village.

The IOC buys its insurance several years in advance. It typically buys around $800 million in cover for each Olympic Games.

The Gay Paree organizing committee also buys insurance, as do national organizing committees. Broadcasters, sponsors and travel firms are likely to buy their cover around a year in advance, while hospitality providers may buy insurance closer to the event.

Since the 9/11 attacks in New York in 2001, standard event cancellation policies have typically excluded terror attacks, but events organizers and businesses can buy separate cover. Vulnerable companies can also buy cover against losses incurred by strikes, riots and civil commotion.

La Belle France is preparing for the second round of parliamentary elections on July 7, leaving many businesses braced for protests which could lead to property damage.

Edel Ryan, an executive in Marsh’s UK sports and entertainment business said AI-based attacks also had the potential to disrupt the Games, "whether that is ticketing or fraud, or manipulating live broadcast feeds."

Ahead of runoff, famed Nazi hunter says French far left more dangerous than far right
[IsraelTimes] Serge Klarsfeld says he’ll vote for Macron’s centrist alliance, but those faced with only a choice between the two poles should pick ‘a party which supports Israel’

Days ahead of La Belle France’s crucial parliamentary elections, renowned Nazi hunter Serge Klarsfeld is sticking to his advice that if voters are faced with a duel between Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally and a far-left competitor, they should choose the far right. The advice from Klarsfeld, an 88-year-old Jewish historian who has dedicated his life to bringing runaway Nazis to justice, goes against many other Jewish leaders and intellectuals in La Belle France who see fighting the National Rally as a top priority in Sunday’s runoff vote. But Klarsfeld told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named in an interview at his Gay Paree apartment that the far-left La Belle France Unbowed party has hard boy Paleostinian supporters and "antisemitic overtones," while Le Pen’s party supports Israel and Jewish people.

"Marine Le Pen is the head of a party which supports Israel and supports the Jews," Klarsfeld said in the interview Tuesday. "So we gave this advice to those who will be faced with this runoff between the far left and what used to be the far right, which for us is now a populist party, to vote for the right."

Biden says he's 'first black woman to serve with a black president' in latest gaffe
[NYPOST] President Joe "Aunt Jemima" Biden described himself as the "first black woman to serve with a black president" as he yet again twisted his words, his latest gaffe as he scrambles to reassure voters he’s still fit to lead.

The 81-year-old president made the slip up as he struggled to find the right phrasing while being interviewed Thursday on Philadelphia’s WURD black radio station as part of an Independence Day media blitz a week on from his train-wreck debate performance.

Biden appeared to trip up as he described having served as former President Barack Obama
My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it...
’s vice president and then choosing Kámala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, then a senatrix from California former 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, and Joe Biden's wing nut...
as his own.

"By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, first black woman, to serve with a black president," he told host Andrea Lawful-Sanders.

Elsewhere in the interview, Biden had boasted about appointing the first black woman, Ketanji Brown Jackson, to the Supreme Court and also picking the first black woman to serve as veep.

The stumble, though, was just one of several slip-ups and mistakes Biden made during the interview — which was aimed at reassuring voters that his debate debacle was just a lone bad night.

At one point, he made the bizarre claim that he was the "first president that got elected statewide in the state of Delaware, when I was a kid."

He also claimed he understood the black struggle for representation — because he didn’t think Catholics could be president before John F. Kennedy was elected more than six decades ago.

#6  The partisan Democrat interviewer asked Biden why his debate performance was so bad after six days of rest at Camp David. Biden threw out some prepared talking points: He'd been very sick. He was tested for COVID and "for infections." He clutched his heart when he said the last part. Stephanopoulos asked Biden whether he had watched any of the debate. Biden couldn't remember: "I don't think I did."

IAF strikes Hezbollah sites after rocket attacks near Kiryat Shmona leave two soldiers injured
[JPost] IAF aircrafts targeted Hezbollah launching and observation sites in Lebanon after Hezbollah's rocket launches that fell near Kiryat Shmona where two soldiers were injured, the IDF reported on Friday night.

According to the report, several launches from Lebanon were identified in different areas of the Upper Galilee. The Air Defense units successfully intercepted some of them.

The IDF also targeted artillery firing sources alongside other areas in Lebanon.

As a result of the launches fired towards the Kiryat Shmona area, two IDF soldiers sustained light injuries and were evacuated for medical treatment at a hospital. Their families have been notified.

White House now says Biden was seen by his doctor days after debate
[AOL] President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
was examined by his physician in the days following last week’s CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
presidential debate, the White House tells CNN — despite the White House press secretary having said Wednesday that the president has had no medical exams since his February physical.

"Several days later, the president was seen to check on his cold and was recovering well," White House front man Andrew Bates said.

On Wednesday, CNN had asked Karine Jean-Pierre in the White House press briefing whether the president had received "any medical exams" since his February physical, and the press secretary had responded: "We were able to talk to his doctor about that and that is a no."

A White House official adds when Biden was seen by his doctor after the debate, it was a "brief check," not a "physical." CNN on Wednesday did not ask Jean-Pierre whether Biden had had another physical since February, but rather, any medical examination.

Politico first reported that Biden told more than 20 Democratic governors in a private meeting Wednesday night that he underwent a medical checkup after last week’s debate and is fine.

The White House’s explanation Thursday that Jean-Pierre said Biden had not had any medical exams since February because she was drawing a distinction between the president being checked out by his doctor and receiving a formal "physical" does not appear to explain a different exchange from the same briefing on Wednesday.

Jean-Pierre was asked by a news hound to clarify whether the president had been checked out by his doctor around the debate given that he had a cold.

"He was on the way to the debate, the doctor was with him, he had a cold, he’s 81. Does he not get checked out by the doctor?" the news hound asked.

'And our commander is being brought to trial.' Blitzkrieg of the Ukrainian Armed Forces buried at Saur-Mogila
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Ilya Ropshin

[REGNUM] Exactly ten years ago, on July 5, 2014, fire from Ukrainian Grad systems rained down on the positions of the DPR Vostok battalion at the height of Saur-Mogila (in the southeast of the DPR, less than ten kilometers from the border with Russia). Artillery shells hit, among other things, the memorial to Soviet soldiers who liberated Donbass from the Nazis in 1943. Eyewitnesses recall: the steles and sculptures survived, but the eternal flame went out, and the inscription to the left of the stairs leading to the top of Saur-Mogila was destroyed: “Protect, protect, protect the world!” After the artillery attack, the assault began - on July 6, neo-Nazis from the Azov battalion, now banned in Russia, launched the assault.

Three arrested on suspicion of killing a Palestinian during Oct. 7 Hamas invasion
[IsraelTimes] Partial gag-order on details of case involving three Israeli civilians; two released under restrictive conditions, third to be held until end of legal proceedings

Three Israeli civilians, who are not members of any security forces, were recently detained on suspicion of killing a Paleostinian man on October 7 and stealing weaponry from Israeli troops, police revealed for publication on Thursday.

While the specifics of the incident have been barred from publication due to a court-issued gag order, details were partially reported by Hebrew media, much of it unsourced, after the Tel Aviv District Court partially lifted the order. Alleged details of the case have varied in several Hebrew media reports.

According to reports, on October 7 — as thousands of Hamas

-led holy warriors stormed southern Israel in a shock assault — the three suspects made their way to the Gazoo

border communities to join the fighting there.

According to Walla, the chief suspect, who is still detained, is alleged to have seized a Paleostinian whom he identified as an operative in Hamas’s elite Nukhba force, interrogated him, and executed him at the end of the interrogation.

According to reports, the suspect has said he never seized or interrogated a Paleostinian, and maintains that the alleged terrorist was alive when he transferred him to security forces.

Ynet reported that two of the three suspects arrived at the front lines unarmed and stole weapons from the bodies of slain IDF soldiers. One of the suspects was reportedly also connected to a separate case in which a man was charged with stealing weapons from IDF bases in the aftermath of October 7 by impersonating other people.

Of the three suspects connected to the suspected murder of a Paleostinian man, one is being held until the end of legal proceedings for weapon offenses, while the other two were released under "restrictive conditions," police said on Thursday evening.

The police statement came after the Tel Aviv District Court partially lifted the gag order on the case that had been in place for several weeks.

Hebrew media reported that the still-detained suspect had requested the gag order be removed, a decision opposed by the Israel Police, which intends to petition the High Court to restore the order.

Police have also reportedly petitioned the High Court to re-arrest the other two suspects after the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court ordered their release, and the District Court rejected the police appeal on the matter.

Outside the Tel Aviv District Court on Thursday, protesters rallied in favor of the suspects, whom they commended for what they called the three individuals’ bravery on October 7, Ynet reported.

Far-right politician Almog Cohen, of the Otzma Yehudit party, who has for months called for the case to be made public, welcomed the court’s decision, saying the prosecutor was making a "perverted use of its authority" in requesting the gag order on the details of the case.

In a post on X, Cohen referred to one of the suspects — whom security forces have strongly denied
No, no! Certainly not!
was on any active duty on October 7 — as a "warrior who jumped into action on October 7 and saved lives."

4 Syrian-Palestinians among 8 arrested in Germany, Sweden for crimes against humanity
[IsraelTimes] Detainees suspected of ‘violent crackdown on a peaceful anti-government protest’ in Damascus in 2012 that killed six, prosecutors say

Investigators in Germany and Sweden on Wednesday arrested eight suspects allied with Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Leveler of Latakia...
’s government over alleged participation in crimes against humanity in Syria, prosecutors in both countries said.
The Germans have been assiduously pursuing the few miscreants arrived within their borders over a decade ago, while ignoring the masses of active jihadis come to prey on the natives since Angela Merkel invited them to make themselves at home in 2015, successive governments refusing almost complete to deport even the convicted criminals and rejected asylum seekers among them. Much like the Biden administration, in fact.
The suspects are accused of taking part in a "violent mostly peaceful crackdown on a peaceful anti-government protest" in the al-Yarmouk district in Damascus on July 13, 2012, Germany’s Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office said.

It said the four stateless Syrian Paleostinians and Syrian national detained in Germany were "strongly suspected of killing and attempting to kill civilians, qualified as crimes against humanity and war crimes."

It named the Syrian Paleostinians as Jihad A., Mahmoud A., Sameer S. and Wael S. The Syrian national, identified as Mazhar J, is believed to have worked for the Syrian military intelligence service.

"They and other accessories specifically targeted the civilian protesters, shooting at them," resulting in six deaths and other serious injuries, the prosecutor said.

The war between Assad’s troops and armed opposition groups, including Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, erupted after the government repressed peaceful pro-democracy protests in 2011.

It has killed more than half a million people, forced millions to flee their homes, and ravaged Syria’s economy and infrastructure.

Wednesday’s arrests took place as a result of work carried out by an investigation team named "Caesar" after a defector who worked as a photographer for Syrian military police.

In 2013 he smuggled more than 50,000 photographs out of Syria, many of them documenting the deaths of prisoners in detention centers or military hospitals.

’SEVERE AND REPEATED’ ABUSE
German prosecutors said that those arrested in Sweden belonged to a pro-government militia which also participated in the crimes on July 13, 2012.

Ulrika Bentelius Egelrud, the Swedish prosecutor in charge of the investigation, said the suspects were arrested thanks to "good cooperation with Germany, Eurojust and Europol."

German prosecutors say the four Syrian Paleostinians also "physically abused civilians from Al Yarmouk severely and repeatedly" between mid-2012 and 2014, including at militia checkpoints on the outskirts of the district, inhabited predominantly by Paleostinians.

Germany let in hundreds of thousands of Syrians during the 2015-16 refugee influx and has arrested several Syrians since on its soil over crimes committed in their country.

It has used the principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows the prosecution of certain serious crimes — regardless of where they took place — to try Syrians over atrocities committed during the country’s civil war.

One of the most high profile cases to be brought to trial was that of a former Syrian colonel who was found guilty in January 2022 of crimes against humanity committed in Damascus.

Last month a Swedish court acquitted a Syrian former general of war crimes charges, saying prosecutors had not proved his involvement in the army’s "indiscriminate attacks." Former brigadier general Mohammed Hamo, 65, was one of the highest-ranking Syrian military officials to stand trial in Europe.

Britain
Despite huge UK win, Labour party struggled against some pro-Palestinian candidates
[IsraelTimes] Senior figure Jonathan Ashworth loses seat to pro-Gaza independent as UK’s new ruling party underperforms in areas with large Muslim populations; Corbyn wins seat as independent

Britannia’s Labour Party suffered significant election setbacks in areas with large Moslem populations on Friday amid discontent over its position on the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, despite a landslide victory in the parliamentary vote.

The party, which has long counted on the backing of Moslem and other minority groups, saw its vote fall on average by 10 points in seats where more than 10% of the population identify as Moslem.

Jonathan Ashworth, who had been expected to serve in Keir Starmer’s Labour government, lost his seat to independent Shockat Adam, one of at least four pro-Gaza candidates to win. Several other Labour candidates came close to losing.

"This is for the people of Gaza," Adam said, holding up a Paleostinian keffiyeh scarf at the end of his acceptance speech on winning in the Leicester South constituency.

Pro-Gaza independents also won in Blackburn, and Dewsbury and Batley, beating Labour into second in both. Labour also failed to win in Islington North, where its former leader, veteran left-winger and ardent pro-Paleostinian activist Jeremy Corbyn, won as an independent.

While Labour has said it wants the fighting in Gaza to stop, it has also backed Israel’s right to defend itself, angering some among the 3.9 million Moslems who make up 6.5% of Britannia’s population.

Starmer has faced criticism for only gradually shifting toward calling for a ceasefire. While the party has committed to recognizing a Paleostinian state, it has not set out a definitive timetable for doing so.

A Savanta poll last month found that 44% of Moslem voters ranked the conflict as one of the top five issues and, of those, 86% said they would consider backing an independent running on the issue.

"The Moslem Vote" campaign called on voters to pick pro-Paleostine candidates running as independents or from smaller parties like the left-wing Workers Party, which put forward more than 150 candidates. There were 230 more independent candidates than at the last election in 2019.

The Workers Party’s outspoken leader George Galloway
... a British national embarrassment, not particularly honest, more fond of dictators and terrorists than he is of his native countrymen except at the peak of the election cycle...
won a by-election in March for a vacant parliamentary seat in Rochdale, which has a big Moslem population, after Labour withdrew support from its candidate over a recording espousing conspiracy theories about Israel.

Labour won the seat back from Galloway on Friday.

Other Labour politicians only just held on to their seats, as they were challenged by pro-Gaza candidates.

Wes Streeting, Labour’s health chief and a senior member of the party, won by just 528 votes over British-Paleostinian Leanne Mohamad in Ilford North.

Jess Philipps beat the Workers Party candidate Jody McIntyre by just 693 votes and then struggled to give a speech amid booing and jeering by pro-Paleostinian activists.

Philipps was one of several of leader Keir Starmer’s "shadow cabinet" to leave their high-profile policy roles over the party’s Gaza policies.

Conservative defector wins first-ever Reform UK seat in parliament

[IsraelTimes] Nigel Farage’s right-wing populist Reform UK party wins its first parliamentary seat in the British election in the early hours of Friday, with Lee Anderson retaining a seat he won in 2019 when he was a member of the Conservative Party.

Anderson defected to Reform earlier this year and ran again as the party’s candidate.

Russians are increasing the pace of offensive operations in the Lymansky and Pokrovsky directions, — Ukrainian General Staff
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[LB] The number of clashes along the entire front line increased to 84.

by Ivanna Kapustyanska

Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has continued to increase the pace of offensive operations in the Lymansky and Pokrovsky directions . The number of combat clashes along the entire front line has increased to 84 , according to the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 16:00.

The Kharkiv region is under constant bombardment by enemy aircraft. In particular, on July 5, terrorists carried out a total of five airstrikes — they shot down nine anti-aircraft missiles from the side of Belgorod and Shebekino. They targeted the areas of the Ukrainian settlements of Vovchansk, Hlyboke and Ruska Lozova.

At the same time, two enemy assaults were repulsed near Hlyboky in the Kharkiv direction. Without losing positions. Two more clashes continue there.

In the Kupyansk direction , the enemy stormed our positions in the Sinkivka area twice without success. The occupiers' aviation twice struck with unguided air missiles near Stepova Novoselivka - a total of two dozens of anti-aircraft missiles were fired. In addition, two controlled aerial bombs exploded near Kurylivka.

In the Lymansky direction, the invading army carried out 17 attacks on Ukrainian positions during the day near Nevsky, Makiivka, Grekivka, Terni and in Serebryansky forest. 11 battles ended without success for the enemy, six more are ongoing. The occupiers are most active in the Terni region — more than a third of all combat clashes took place there.

The enemy continues to try to find weak points in our defense in the Seversky direction. Defenders of Ukrainian land repelled six enemy attacks in the vicinity of Spirny, Bilogorivka, and Vyimka . Now a battle is going on near Spirny. The situation is under control.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers carried out three unsuccessful assaults on the positions of our troops near Kalynyvka, Klishchiivka, and Ivanovsky. Twice they hit Chasovoy Yar with the weapons of army aviation.

In the Toretsk direction, the number of enemy attacks increased to nine . The enemy, with the support of aviation, tried twice to advance towards New York and Toretsk. The aggressor made four more attacks near the North. Battles in three locations are still ongoing. In total, the invaders launched five airstrikes in the direction.

In the Pokrovsky direction, the largest number of clashes occurred. Since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 29 attempts to dislodge our defenders from their positions in the districts of Kalinovoy, Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Pershoya, Yasnobrodivka, and Netaylovy. Almost half of the enemy's attacks were conducted near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka the first.

The occupiers supported their actions with three airstrikes. The defense forces restrained the onslaught and repelled 17 enemy assaults , 12 battles are still ongoing.

Fighting continues in the Kurakhiv direction . So far, Ukrainian defenders have repelled six attacks by the occupying army. The enemy is concentrating its efforts in the direction of Krasnohorivka. The occupiers bombarded Maksimilianivka and Kostyantynivka districts with anti-aircraft guns.

In the Vremivsk direction, three enemy assaults were repulsed in the direction of Kostyantynivka, and two - near Vodyanyi. The enemy dropped two aerial bombs near Elizavetivka.

In the Orihiv direction , the occupiers were strongly repulsed near Mala Tokmachka. In addition, 32 unguided air missiles were fired in the Lugovoy region.

Our grouping of troops has defined and proven tasks for strengthening the stability of the defense. Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the enemy and inflict maximum losses on him.

Kremlin assesses the prospects for relations with Britain under the new prime minister
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The victory of the Labor Party in the UK parliamentary elections does not inspire optimism in terms of improving Russian-British relations. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov to journalists on July 5.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, the Labour Party is more likely to continue its line of denying the future of Moscow-London relations. The Labour Party's previous statements do not indicate flexibility or a desire to normalise relations.

“Therefore, we do not feel any optimism here,” Peskov said.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, the Labour Party won the elections to the House of Commons, the lower house of the UK Parliament, securing more than half of the 650 seats. Rishi Sunak, who had led the British government since October 25, 2022, acknowledged the Conservatives' defeat in the elections and resigned as Prime Minister.
One has to ask if he did anything right since ascending to the office, except to resign.
He was replaced as Prime Minister by Labour leader Keir Starmer. He received a mandate to form a government from King Charles III.

According to Elena Ananyeva, head of the Center for British Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the victory of the Labor Party will not change the country's attitude toward Russia. She recalled that the Labor Party has established itself as a party that supports the Kiev regime.

Latest USA Employment Report Suggests Cooling Economy but no collapse
[BLS.gov] Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 206,000 in June, and the unemployment rate changed little at 4.1 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Job gains occurred in government, health care, social assistance, and construction...The number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) rose by 166,000 to 1.5 million in June. This measure is up from 1.1 million a year earlier....The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for April was revised down by 57,000, from +165,000 to +108,000, and the change for May was revised down by 54,000, from +272,000 to +218,000. With these revisions, employment in April and May combined is 111,000 lower than previously reported.

----------------
there are about 160M employed; there are about 8M people holding multiple jobs; also calculating unemployment by including discouraged potential employees would bring the rate to about 4.9%; including people working part time who would rather work full time would bring it to 7.4%

BTW: Question: Were the 8+ million adult Illegal immigrants that are stealing US Jobs counted in these numbers?

undoubtedly there are some illegal immigrants counted in the employer reports especially in business like landscaping, hospitality and unskilled healthcare

it would be difficult to estimate how many because the companies that employ them are breaking the law and have to pretend (and maybe believe) that they are legal immigrants

US Reopens Historic WWII Airstrip Amid Rising Pacific Tensions
[France24] The dirt airstrip on Peleliu, 2,500 kilometres from the Chinese coast, played a pivotal role in World War II, when China was a US ally and Japan the adversary. Now, the modest airfield, immortalised in several books, documentaries, and the 2010 HBO mini-series "The Pacific," finds itself at the centre of a modern arms race between Washington and Beijing.

Palau, an island nation, is one of the few countries in the Pacific that recognises Taiwan, placing it at odds with China, which considers Taiwan a breakaway province. Palau also maintains a close relationship with the USA,

The KC-130J aircraft is a critical logistical asset for the US Air Force, capable of refuelling fighter jets and helicopters over a range exceeding 6,000 kilometres. This capability underscores the importance of Peleliu as a refuelling and logistical hub in the Pacific theatre.

In a bid to secure its presence in the Pacific, the US has announced a $7.1 billion budget for Palau, Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands over a 20-year period. This investment not only grants the US access to these territories but also allows Palauan citizens to work and study in the USA, and to join the US military and receive veteran healthcare benefits.

Newsom dodges when asked if he'd support VP Harris as Biden replacement
[FoxNews - liveblog] California Gov. Gavin Newsom dodged the question when a reporter asked if he would support Vice President Kamala Harris should President Biden drop out of the 2024 race.

"Yeah, I don't even like playing in the hypothetical, because last night was about sort of locking down any doubt or ambiguity. And then we start running in different directions, zig zag, you know, all that kind of speculation and that gets in the way of progress," Newsom said Thursday while in South Haven, Michigan, for an appearance at the Van Buren County Democratic Party's Fourth of July reception.

Pundits have floated Newsom as a potential alternative to Biden, should the 81-year-old president decide against continuing his re-election campaign after his disastrous performance at the CNN Presidential Debate. But first he would have to upset Harris, who is Biden's heir apparent.

Rather than affirm his support for the vice president, Newsom called the question a distraction.

"It's a legitimate question that I respect and appreciate it. But if you can appreciate my point of view that it's very unhelpful and it's exactly the question and answer that the Republican Party right now wants us to have in that kind of two way conversation, give and take. I'm not going to play into that. Joe Biden's our president, he said he's all in. I double down, saying I'm all in. And not only that, I'm here with you to prove it."

At least 2 killed, multiple injured in NYC after pickup truck crashes into crowd
[FoxNews] Police do not believe this was a terrorism-related event at this time but do believe alcohol may have been involved.

At least two people were killed, and seven others injured after a driver crashed into a Manhattan park Thursday night during a Fourth of July celebration, authorities said.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. on the Lower East Side, according to the New York City Police Department.

NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey said in a press conference on Thursday that the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran through a stop sign at the intersection.

The suspect's grey pickup truck then traveled onto the sidewalk where it struck people who were at a Fourth of July celebration, according to Maddrey.

First responders at the scene found the truck on top of four victims, police said.

Authorities said that nine people were struck, and at least two were killed.

Maddrey said they are still working to determine the ages of the victims, but they believe at least two children were taken to the hospital.

Police say that responding officers smelled alcohol at the scene, but tests are ongoing.

Phony delivery drivers attack children during home invasion in what could be alarming new trend: expert
[FoxNews] Ring doorbell captured home invasion near Denver in 'an old crime with a new twist,' expert says

A trio of depraved armed robbers posing as deliverymen barged into a Colorado family's home and attacked two children in what could be an alarming new trend, an expert and police say.

The kids' anguished parents – who were not home at the time of the June 12 home invasion – witnessed the fake delivery men enter their house on a Ring doorbell.

The men allegedly attacked the babysitter and assaulted two children – a 14-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department.

"It’s an old crime with a new twist," said retired NYPD Sgt. Joseph Giacalone, who is a professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. "These guys are always looking for a new way to get into your house, and I'm sure police are very worried about whether this is a growing pattern."

A tactic criminals once used was trying to gain access to a home by posing as utility workers, Giacalone said. However, this approach is no longer effective with workers wearing distinct uniforms and carrying identification cards, he added.

The terrifying Colorado home invasion that took place about 10 miles from downtown Denver is the latest in a string of robberies involving fake delivery workers.

The ordeal unfolded a little after 8:30 p.m., when one of the suspects approached the door wearing a bright orange vest and carrying a box, according to footage obtained by KDVR.

"They were dressed in construction vests and claimed they were there to drop a package off. The suspects were holding a package and waited for the residents of the home to open the door," the Aurora Police Department said. "When they did, the suspects forced their way in and robbed the family."

One of the people inside the home opened the door slightly, and the man wearing the vest immediately pushed his way in.

He then began yelling at two accomplices in Spanish that he had gained access.

Ring camera footage showed one of the men holding what appeared to be a gun in his hand as he barged into the home and another suspect exiting a car that was idling outside to join them.

The teen girl was touched inappropriately during the roughly one-minute ransacking, which netted the thieves jewelry and cash, her mother told KDVR.

The babysitter and young boy were also shoved to the ground during the break-in.

The homeowners called police after being alerted to the intruders by their Ring camera.

Police departments across the country have warned homeowners to be careful about opening their doors to strangers after a spate of home invasions.

Giacalone said that the most important precaution to "prevent something terrible from happening to your family" is to verify the identity of the delivery person.

"If someone knocks on the door saying you need to sign for a package request to see their ID, whether through a window, a peephole or a door camera," he suggested.

Homeowners, he added, should also peer out their windows to ensure there is a UPS or Amazon truck parked nearby.

Thugs in California begin to target assisted living homes
[AMERICANTHINKER] Checking in on Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, and we find that civilization continues to unravel at an alarming rate, but nowhere is that more obvious than taking a look at the Bay Area. Here’s the latest, from an item out at a local outlet:

Thirteen senior citizens reported being brutally attacked and robbed in just one week in an Oakland community. But according to leaders at one senior living facility in the city, they say the number is much higher and closer to an astounding 30.

’It was happening every hour on the hour,’ says Sister Marie Taylor, president of the Westlake Christian Terrace resident council. She says she’s counted nearly 30 violent mostly peaceful attacks and robberies on elderly Asian residents in a span of less than a week.

According to the article, residents of the assisted living facility number more than 700, and the average age is 85 years old; when venturing out to grocery shop or run other errands, they’ve been robbed and "brutally" beaten by prowling thugs. The solution? Well, from the ever-so-helpful local government:

Oakland Police say there was a spike in robberies citywide with 83 between June 25th and July 1st. However they say there is no particular reason for the surge. They’re urging elders to walk in larger groups and to do so only during the daytime.

"No particular reason" my rear end. Under Democrat reign, criminals have been emboldened to the nth degree; and why shouldn’t they be? They’ve been given a pass for any and all theft that doesn’t break the $950 threshold; they’ve seen judges, courts, and juries abuse their authority and trust to punish political opponents; they’re let off the hook because of their skin color and "reparative justice"; they’re slapped on the wrist, even after the most heinous crimes, because queer "tolerance" trumps protecting the innocent; and they were permitted to destroy homes, cities, and businesses, even burning scared, innocent people alive, carte blanche, all because a thug on drugs overdosed during an arrest. That’s why there’s a surge in crime.

And, I mean no offense whatsoever, but whether it’s a single octogenarian or a group of them, what difference does that make to a gang of violent mostly peaceful thugs, most likely male, possibly armed, and in the physical prime of their youth? I mean seriously, what a joke. Even more so when you consider that many of these victims are Asian people, who are generally much smaller in stature than other races. With advice this useless, why not just suggest the erection of signs that read "This is a mugging- and beating-free zone"?

More than 136,000 people flee fighting in Sennar state: UN
[SUDANTRIBUNE] More than 136,000 people have fled Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
’s Sennar state since the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces began a series of attacks on towns, the UN said on Wednesday.

This latest wave of displacements means they now join more than 8 million people already out of their homes since war broke out between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese army in April 2023.
Aid agencies warned of famine, mainly in RSF-controlled areas across Sudan.

The RSF began a campaign on 24 June to seize the city of Sennar, but quickly turned to the smaller towns of Sinjah and al-Dinder. This prompted an exodus of civilians from all three, mainly to neighbouring al-Gedaref and Blue Nile states.

Images on social media showed people of all ages wading across the Blue Nile.

Activists in both states say that there is little shelter or food aid for the incomers. In Gedaref, they faced downpours of heavy rain while stranded in the state capital’s main market with no tents or blankets after schools that had served as displacement centres were emptied by the government, explained the local resistance committee.

The UN Migration Agency (IOM) said the state was already home to more than 285,000 people displaced from Khartoum and al-Gezira states.

It said villages in Gedaref state, one of several possible targets for the RSF campaign, had already witnessed people fleeing due to the fighting.

At least 12 people were reportedly killed by artillery fire on a livestock market in the city of Al Fasher on Wednesday, amid warnings on an immediate ceasefire in the area

HOAX: Kissinger's quote from a speech to the WHO Eugenics Council on February 25, 2009
It’s been a while since we had a good debunking here at Rantburg — I think the last one was pirate hunting cruises off the Somali coast.
[X] Kissinger's quote from a speech to the WHO Eugenics Council on February 25, 2009:

"Once the herd accepts mandatory vaccinations, it's game over. They will accept anything - forced blood or organ donation - 'for the common good.'

We can genetically modify children and sterilize them - 'for the common good'...." Vaccine manufacturers will make billions. And many of you in this room are future investors. It's a big win-win. We exterminate the herd, and the herd pays us for our extermination services."

Scary stuff. Except the World Health Organization has no eugenics council (see here). This piece Dr. Kissinger wrote for the Wall Street Journal in 2020 about the pandemic doesn’t sound anything like the above quote. Finally Agence France Presse, among others, fact checked the claim, showing with links that it never happened.

Nancy Pelosi Says We Must Re-Elect Biden To See If He's Senile
[BEE] WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to growing concern from the American people about the president's cognitive ability, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi said we must re-elect Joe Biden to find out if he's senile.

While media reports in the wake of Biden's debate performance against Donald Trump have raised red flags regarding his fitness to continue serving as president, Pelosi stressed how imperative it was to vote to keep him in office in order to learn how impaired he is.

"This is why it's so important to re-elect him," Pelosi said in a televised interview. "As concerned as we may be about President Biden's cognitive health, the only reasonable answer is to keep him in office and really find out just how mentally defective he has become. It's the only way."

The uncertainty surrounding Biden's mental fitness has drawn questions from the media and calls from prominent Democrats and campaign donors to have him replaced as the nominee, which Pelosi said would be a serious mistake. "If we fail to re-elect Joe Biden, we will never know just how senile he is," she said emphatically. "A vote for Donald Trump is a vote to make Joe Biden's level of dementia a permanent mystery. What better way to learn how far he has declined mentally than in real-time on the global stage, with the fate of the world at stake?"

At publishing time, Pelosi stressed that re-electing Biden would also be the only way to find out if World War 3 was actually about to happen.

Head of Dagestan Melikov: terrorist attack was vile and secretive
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The large number of police casualties as a result of the terrorist attacks on June 23 in Makhachkala and Derbent in Dagestan is explained primarily by the fact that the attack was carried out in a vile and covert manner on a peaceful day. This was stated on July 5 by the head of the republic, Sergei Melikov, at a press conference.

The head of Dagestan emphasized that a terrorist attack is always a barbaric and unexpected attack, and it is committed at a moment of surprise, from around the corner.

A total of 22 people were killed in the shootout, 17 of them police officers.

"Now pseudo-experts who have never held a machine gun in their hands are asking: why such a ratio of losses, why were five eliminated bandits able to kill almost 20 law enforcement officers? Firstly, because this attack was vile, from around the corner, covert, on a peaceful day, and, strictly speaking, unexpected, because it is, in essence, barbaric," Melikov explained his position.

He specified that the police, in order not to let the terrorists through, "lined up" and the militants shot at them. Most of the dead were traffic police and patrol police officers.
Heroes, all.
Sergei Melikov also added that the deceased “were the first in the path of armed, trained bandits,” who had studied the locations, procedures, and nature of police duty in advance.

"One squad was practically shot at the moment when he was inspecting a car. And with his chest or back, it doesn't matter, this officer covered the person whose car he was inspecting," added the head of Dagestan.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on June 23, supporters of a terrorist organization attacked Makhachkala and Derbent. Unknown persons fired at two Orthodox churches, two synagogues and traffic police posts in Derbent and Makhachkala.

In Makhachkala, three previously detained suspects in the preparation of a terrorist attack were arrested for two months. By decision of the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala, Magomed Magomedov, Khalid Magomedov and Zaur Magomedov were remanded in custody. Despite the same last name, the defendants are not related, the police said.

The sons of the dismissed head of the Sergokalinsky district of Dagestan, Magomed Omarov, tried to stop their brother Osman Omarov on the day of the terrorist attack in Makhachkala, in which he was a participant. This was reported by the wife of one of the brothers, Zarina.

Former head of Dagestan district detained after terrorist attacks released

The former head of the Sergokalinsky district of Dagestan, Magomed Omarov, detained after militant attacks in Dagestan, was released, the chairman of the Public Monitoring Commission of the republic, Shamil Khadulaev, reported on his Telegram channel on July 5.

“Yesterday late in the evening, the former head of the Sergokalinsky district, Magomed Omarov, the father of the terrorist Osman Omarov, after serving a 10-day arrest imposed by the court, was released,” he wrote.

On the afternoon of June 23, militants carried out armed attacks on two Orthodox churches, two synagogues and a traffic police post in Derbent and Makhachkala. As a result of the militant attack, 22 people were killed.

It became known that Magomed Omarov's children were among the terrorists. On June 24, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, announced that he had fired the official. He explained his decision by saying that responsibility for what happened should be full.

On June 26, information appeared that the court arrested Omarov for 10 days for swearing in the street. Later, the court sentenced the former official's five sons to administrative arrest for petty hooliganism. They recorded a video message asking for forgiveness.

According to the wife of one of the brothers, Zarina, the sons of the dismissed head of the Sergokalinsky district tried to stop their brother Osman Omarov on the day of the terrorist attack in Makhachkala. On the day of the terrorist attack, the brothers were at a recreation center with their children. According to the woman, the family rarely saw Osman. Osman was involved in construction, and no one in the family knew about his radical views.

Putin declared the necessity of a final end to the conflict in Ukrai
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Russia is in favor of a complete and final end to the conflict. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference following talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Russia is in favor of a complete and final end to the conflict, Putin noted.

“And this should not be just a truce or a temporary ceasefire, not some kind of pause that the Kiev regime could use to recover losses, regroup and rearm,” the Russian leader added.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the day before, Putin, during his speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Astana, stated that the plan proposed by Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine would allow for an immediate end to military actions and the initiation of a negotiation process. The head of state noted that Moscow has always advocated a peaceful and political-diplomatic resolution to the Ukrainian crisis, which, as Putin emphasized, arose as a result of the unceremonious policies of the United States and its satellites.

On June 14, the Russian leader named the conditions necessary for a ceasefire. One of them is Ukraine's refusal to join NATO. According to the second condition, Kiev must withdraw its troops from the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, as well as the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics. At the same time, Putin ruled out the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine as a condition for starting negotiations.

On June 20, the President recalled that Moscow is ready for negotiations with the Ukrainian side on the basis of the Minsk and Istanbul agreements. So far, there are no signals about readiness for negotiations from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the head of state added.

[Regnum] The Ukrainian leadership is still not ready to give up on continuing the conflict until a victorious end, Russian President Vladimir Putin told journalists on July 5 following a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the Kremlin.

“As we see the state of affairs, including taking into account what we heard today from the Prime Minister, Kiev is still not ready to abandon military action until a victorious end,” Putin said.

The Russian leader also suggested that the Ukrainian leadership rejects the idea of a ceasefire, since then the pretext for extending martial law will disappear and presidential elections will have to be held. But since the current leaders have completely lost legitimacy, and their ratings have collapsed, their chances of winning the vote are close to zero.

Putin said that Russia remains open to discussing a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict, but Kiev does not want this.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, Orban arrived in Moscow on July 5 to discuss with the Russian president the possibility of settling the Ukrainian conflict. Orban stated on social media that he had arrived in Russia to continue the "peace mission." During his visit to Kiev on July 2, the Hungarian prime minister proposed to the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, to cease fire in order to begin negotiations with Russia, but he rejected the proposal.

Mufti of Stavropol Krai supports ban on niqab
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Mufti of Stavropol Krai Muhammad Rakhimov supported the ban on wearing the niqab in Russia. He stated this in a video published on July 5 on the Telegram channel of the Muftiate of the Republic of Dagestan.

According to him, you can take passport photos wearing a hijab, but no country will allow you to take photos wearing a niqab, since in this case it is impossible to determine who exactly is hidden under the clothing.

“Therefore, we support the initiative of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Dagestan, which is categorically against the niqab,” said Rakhimov.

He added that wearing the niqab is to some extent not in line with Islamic norms.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the deputy mufti of the republic, Abdulla Salimov, announced a temporary ban on wearing the niqab in Dagestan on July 3. He explained that the decision was made taking into account the conclusion of the fatwa department "until the identified threats are eliminated and a new theological conclusion is made."

Salimov explained that one of the grounds was an appeal from the Ministry of National Policy and Religious Affairs of the Republic, which spoke of a threat to the security of the region's population. The second ground was the conclusion of the fatwa department on July 2.

The overwhelming majority of Russian Muslims, including Caucasian muftis, supported the Dagestani spiritual leader. The press service of the Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus stated that wearing the niqab harms Muslims and threatens discord in interreligious and interethnic relations.

The Muftiate of Karachay-Cherkessia, following Dagestan, announced a temporary ban on wearing niqabs.

The Supreme Mufti of Russia and Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims Talgat Tadzhuddin stated that the majority of Russian Muslims do not have an obligation for women to cover their faces and hands. According to him, the Muslims of the North Caucasus are an exception, but this issue can be resolved by law in connection with the terrorist threat and ensuring state security. He recalled that there was no niqab in the country for 14 centuries.

Fifth Column
UW-Milwaukee chancellor to quit; he was panned for handling of anti-Israel protests
Another moral coward bites the dust.
[IsraelTimes] Mark Mone says he’ll step down next summer, in ‘personal decision’; Jewish groups have criticized him for striking deal with encampment leaders, agreeing to mull Israel divestment

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Chancellor Mark Mone announced Wednesday that he plans to step down next summer, a move that comes after years of grappling with the UW system’s financial woes and taking criticism that he mishandled pro-Paleostinian, anti-Israel protests this spring on the US campus.

Mone said in a post on the social platform X that he will resign as leader of the Universities of Wisconsin’s second-largest campus effective
July 1, 2025. He said he will move into a teaching role at the university’s business school. He didn’t elaborate on why he has chosen to step down.

Asked for an explanation, UW-Milwaukee spokesperson Angelica Duria said in an email to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named: "It was a deeply personal decision for Chancellor Mone and for him, it is the right time."

Mone has served as chancellor at UW-Milwaukee since 2014.

He took pointed criticism from Jewish groups in May after he reached a deal to end an anti-Israel campus protest. The dayslong demonstration was part of a nationwide protest movement on college campuses against Israel over its war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, which critics have said frequently featured overt antisemitism and support for terror.

The university agreed to call for a ceasefire in Gaza, condemn the destruction of universities in Gaza — which Israel says were used for terror purposes — discuss the possibility of UW-Milwaukee’s foundation cutting ties with Israeli companies, review the university’s study abroad programs, and not issue citations or conduct violations against student groups involved in the protest.

The Milwaukee Jewish Federation, Hillel Milwaukee and the Anti-Defamation League all accused Mone of giving in to the protesters.

Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman took Mone to task over the deal as well, posting on X that campuses need to remain viewpoint-neutral and make sure actions on campus have consequences.

Like all chancellors across the Universities of Wisconsin system, Mone also struggled with financial problems brought on largely by declining enrollment and relatively flat state aid. Shrinking enrollment has forced UW officials to close or announce plans to close six two-year branch campuses around the US state since 2023. Among those schools is UW-Milwaukee’s Waukesha campus, which is set to close after the spring 2025 semester. Ten of the UW system’s 13 four-year universities faced deficits last year, with UW-Milwaukee facing the largest shortfall at $18.8 million.

The school announced plans this past January to sell the chancellor’s residence to help close a projected $18.8 million deficit. The residence remains on the market for $1.2 million, according to a Powers Realty Group listing. The school also has eliminated nearly 90 positions.

Financial data UW system officials presented to regents earlier this month show six universities face deficits over the coming academic year. UW-Milwaukee is expected to finish in the black.

Democratic Governor Tony Evers has said he plans to ask the Legislature for $800 million for the system in his next budget, but if Republicans maintain control of both the Assembly and Senate in this fall’s elections it’s almost certain they won’t hand the system that much money.

#1  UW Milwaukee was the alternative to UW Madison way back during the Vietnam war.

While the Madison students were protesting and burning things, the Milwaukee campus was more like "Cambodia incursion? That's a shame. Want to grab a beer?"

Forgotten in Slavyansk. The only retreat of the DPR defenders
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Aleksandr Dimitrovsky

[REGNUM] Exactly 10 years ago, early in the morning of July 5, 2014, on command, the militia forces of Slavyansk began a mass exodus - closer to the evening the city was empty. On July 6, having broken through the few remaining barriers to cover the retreat of the militias, Ukrainian troops stormed into the city that became a symbol of the uprising of the Russian Donbass.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Murder Beach PD to increase presence, enforce curfew for minors after ‘disturbing' incidents involving fireworks
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) — The Myrtle Beach Police Department is upping its presence in the community this weekend after what it calls "disturbing and dangerous" incidents involving fireworks on the Fourth of July.

In one case, police released jaw-dropping surveillance video that caught a large group of teenagers and young adults shooting fireworks at each other, neighbors, homes and cars at Ragin Street and Vereen Avenue.
Sounds like the Palestinian Territories.
Police said it also caused a brush fire near a home, putting people inside in danger.

Authorities said when Myrtle Beach police officers and firefighters responded, fireworks were then shot at them.

In a second case, a teenage boy was hurt when fireworks and a gun were shot at a family gathering on Canal Street that he was attending.

Then in a third case, a young person showed up to the hospital after they were badly hurt by fireworks.

WMBF News is working to learn exactly where each of those cases took place.

"All of this is unacceptable, disturbing, and dangerous. This is not ’harmless fun with fireworks,’" the Myrtle Beach Police Department said. "These are criminal acts that hurt people and damage property.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department said it will be providing a heavier than normal presence in the community throughout the rest of the weekend. It is also enforcing a curfew for minors between midnight and 6 a.m. The department added that noise and fireworks laws will also be strictly enforced.

"We are concerned that this type of behavior will continue and more people will be seriously injured if we don’t work together to put an immediate end to it. We need help from our community," the Myrtle Beach Police Department posted.

The department is investigating each of the cases and said that those responsible, as well as the parents or guardians who allow it, will be identified and held accountable.

Police are asking anyone for information in each of these to help identify people involved in the crimes. Anyone providing information that leads to an arrest can receive an award up to $1,000.
