The RSF took control of al-Dinder on July 1st but was briefly ousted by the Sudanese army. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried... the RSF swiftly recaptured the city on July 5th, forcing the army and its allies to retreat to Gedaref State.
In a statement to Sudan Tribune, the Room accused the RSF of using "intimidation, beatings, and killings" to confiscate tractors and equipment from farmers across al-Dinder locality. An estimated 200 tractors have been seized and are reportedly being stored in the villages of al-Farish and Kamrab, west of al-Dinder. These villages are primarily inhabited by members of the Rizeigat tribe, the same tribe from which many RSF leaders and soldiers hail.
The Room further alleges that the RSF has looted agricultural seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides from villages and storage facilities, jeopardizing the upcoming harvest. They also claim that Kamrab and al-Farish have become operational bases for the RSF, used for launching raids and storing stolen goods from al-Dinder and its surrounding villages.
Al-Dinder is home to approximately 200 villages that rely on herding, trade, and agriculture. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried... many residents have fled due to RSF violence, including killings, looting, sexual violence, and forced displacement. The ongoing lack of electricity, water, and communication services, combined with soaring prices for essential goods, are exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
Last Saturday, the Emergency Room warned of a rising corpse count among vulnerable populations, including those with chronic illnesses, the elderly, and children, due to the closure of hospitals and health centres damaged in the conflict.

The escalating conflict has resulted in countless deaths and displaced over ten million people, raising alarms about an impending famine due to the lack of humanitarian aid reaching those affected.

Jabal Moya, a series of hills located on a key national road linking the states of Sennar, Al Jazirah, and the White Nile, lies approximately 300 kilometres southeast of Khartoum and 30 kilometres west of Sennar city.
In June, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) seized control of Jabal Moya, which had served as the army’s main defence point for Sennar state. From this position, the RSF launched attacks and captured Singa, the state capital, as well as al-Dinder, Ad-Dali, and al-Mazmum, leaving the army with only the city of Sennar.
According to field sources speaking to Sudan Tribune, the army has advanced toward Jabal Moya from the White Nile state to the west to reclaim this vital area.
Recapturing Jabal Moya is crucial for the army to prevent an RSF siege of the White Nile and Blue Nile states, as well as the cities of Sennar and al-Manaqil in Al Jazirah state.
The RSF currently maintains a siege on the White Nile state, bordering South Sudan, with forces stationed in three locations: Um Rawaba in North Kordofan state to the west, al-Qattinah locality in the White Nile state to the north, and Jabal Moya in Sennar state to the east.
The same sources indicate that the army regained control of Jabal al-Dud within the Jabal Moya hill range last week and has since expanded eastward, capturing Jabal al-A’war, a location closer to Jabal Moya.
Reports suggest that on Monday, the army attacked Jabal Saqdi and areas surrounding Jabal Moya, west of Sennar city. They successfully combed the surrounding areas, inflicting losses on the RSF in terms of both personnel and combat vehicles.
The army has also cleared villages in the foothills of Jabal Qara, Sidi, and al-Tal’a, bringing them closer to Jabal Moya along the national road connecting Sennar and Rabak in the White Nile state.

The participants agreed that the first phase of dialogue would focus on crucial issues such as achieving a ceasefire, facilitating humanitarian aid delivery, and establishing a transitional framework. A second phase is planned to delve into broader state-building concerns, including establishing a state founded on principles of citizenship, democracy, justice, and sustainable peace. The closing session experienced delays due to disagreements over condemning the Rapid Support Forces and their international backers, as well as the formation of a caretaker or technocratic government. However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes... after discussions with the African Union envoy to Sudan, Mohammed Belaiche, consensus was reached on a final statement and agenda.
Mubarak Ardol, a prominent leader within the Democratic Bloc, clarified that the dialogue aims to be inclusive, excluding only individuals facing legal charges or convictions, particularly those related to genocide, crimes against humanity, or war crimes. This implicitly encompasses the NCP, which was dissolved and banned under the Constitutional Declaration.
Ardol emphasized that the meeting’s discussions centred on ending the ongoing conflict, implementing the Jeddah agreement, and initiating direct negotiations to unify and reform Sudan’s security sector. The participants also expressed strong support for the unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid, particularly to the hard-hit Nuba Mountains region in South Kordofan.
In his opening remarks, Mohammed Chambas, Head of the African Union High-Level Panel for Sudan, stated that the five-day preparatory meeting aimed to foster goodwill and facilitate dialogue between Sudanese political factions and civil society groups. He emphasized that the meeting was part of a broader effort to peacefully resolve the conflict in Sudan and pave the way for an inclusive inter-Sudanese dialogue. Chambas affirmed the African Union’s commitment to non-interference, stating that the meeting’s agenda and topics were determined solely by the participants themselves.

[GEO.TV] At least six people including four Paks and an Indian were killed by gunfire in the vicinity of a mosque in Oman's capital of Muscat, the Omani police said on Tuesday, a rare breach of security in one of the most stable countries in the Middle East.
Police say three button men behind attack were also killed as officers conclude "procedures for dealing with shooting".
A police officer was were among those killed in the gun attack, according to Omani officials.
Pakistain's Ambassador to Oman Imran Ali told The National that at least 50 Pak expatriate workers had been injured in the deadly attack, of which 20 were being "treated for bullet wounds in three hospitals in Muscat".
Others with minor injuries had been discharged, he added.
However,

"The Royal Oman Police have responded to a shooting incident that occurred in the vicinity of a mosque in the al-Wadi al-Kabir area," police said in a statement.
They have not said whether they have identified a motive for the attack or if they had made any arrests. The identity of the attackers has also not been released.
The law enforcement officials also said that all security measures have been taken to deal with the situation while procedures are underway for collecting evidence and probing the attack.
According to the Embassy of Pakistain, a terrorist attack took place on July 15 in the Wadi Kabir Muscat area by unknown assailants.
It said that the authorities have cordoned off the area with drone and the surveillance is underway, adding that the operation by the Omani authorities started at 2:30am Muscat time after evacuation.
"Government has put up high alert and emergency at state level as well as some injured are shifted to nearby hospitals," said the embassy, adding that it established an Emergency Response Centre and teams which are in contact with patients and their families.

[Ron Paul Institute] Just days after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, theories are flying from all directions. Many who ridiculed the "conspiracy theories" of conservatives are now suggesting the whole event was a set-up to boost Trump in the polls ahead of the election. Others suggest it was the "deep state" or even foreign actors who organized it.
Former US Navy Seal and founder of Blackwater, Erik Prince, claims that "The fact that [the Secret Service] allowed a rifle armed shooter within 150 yds to a preplanned event is either malice or massive incompetence." He went on to observe that, "unaccountable bloated bureaucracies continue to fail us as Americans," adding that "unserious and unworthy people in positions of authority got us to this near disaster. Merit and execution must be the only deciding factors in hiring and leadership, not the social engineering priority of the day."
Video has emerged showing that for at least two minutes law enforcement knew someone with a gun was on a roof aiming at the former President and no one communicated the need to pull Trump from the stage. You can clearly hear the crowd warning law enforcement that someone was on the roof. Yet he was unhindered until the first shots rang out.
Considering this fact, Erik Prince has a point.
If this is like any previous governmental foul-ups, we can expect hearings, investigations, and commissions that will actually serve to hide the official errors or even malicious intent by some in the government. That’s what government does no matter who is in office: protect itself from actual scrutiny and resist being exposed as incompetent or worse.

The leader of an Eastern European neo-Nazi group has been charged in a plot to have a follower dress up as Santa Claus and hand out poisoned candy to Jewish kids in New York City.
Michail Chkhikvishvili, a 21 year old from the Republic of Georgia, was arrested pursuant to an Interpol Wanted Person Diffusion in Moldova on July 6. On Tuesday, a federal grad jury in Brooklyn indicted him on four counts including soliciting hate crimes and acts of mass violence following an FBI-New York Joint Terrorism Task Force Probe.
'As alleged, the defendant sought to recruit others to commit violent attacks and killings in furtherance of his Neo-Nazi ideologies,' said US Attorney Breon Peace.
'His goal was to spread hatred, fear and destruction by encouraging bombings, arson and even poisoning children, for the purpose of harming racial minorities, the Jewish community and homeless individuals.'

The group has spread into the United States, and Chkhikvishvili was arrested after he unwittingly tied to recruit an undercover FBI agent. The undercover agent asked the cult leader in September 2024 whether there was an application process to join the group, a criminal complaint says.
Chkhikvishvili then allegedly replied, 'Well yes, we ask people for brutal beating, arson/explosion or murder vids on camera.'
He then went on to advise that 'poisoning and arson are [the] best options for murder' and suggested he consider a larger 'mass murder in the United States.
Chkhikvishvili also suggested the undercover cop choose 'low-race targets.'
By November, Chkhikvishvili allegedly began scheming a 'mass casualty event for New York City on New Years Eve.
'The scheme involved an individual dressing up as Santa Claus and handing out candy laced with poison to racial minorities and children at Jewish schools in Brooklyn,' prosecutors said.
He then drafted step-by-step instructions on how to carry out the scheme, writing in a November 2 missive that the undercover agent should use delivery services or pay with cash to buy the poisons and the chocolate candies.
'After giving around poisoned candies to many racial minorities and traitors, just go to [a] taxi, pay to go somewhere where you will have alternative clothes... and burn Santa clothes and equipment,' Chkhikvishvili allegedly wrote in the message.
Along with the message, prosecutors say the neo-Nazi provided the undercover cop with manuals on creating and mixing poisons and gases. He also allegedly told the undercover agent to specifically target the Jewish community, noting, 'Jews are literally everywhere' in Brooklyn.
It seems Chkhikvishvili had high hopes for the plan, intending for it to be a 'bigger action than Breivik,' referring to Anders Behring Breivik, a Norwegian neo-Nazi who killed 77 people in a bombing and mass shooting in 2011.
'Once you do poison attack, I'll do message against US government,' he allegedly wrote to the undercover agent in November as he repeatedly asked for status updates.
'MMC will become bigger than al Qaeda once it drops.'
When New Year's Eve passed without any hate attack, prosecutors said he switched the plan to focus on poisoning children on 'some Jewish holiday.'
Prosecutors also claim that since September 2021, Chkhikvishvili had distributed a manifesto entitled Hater's Handbook, in which he states that he has 'murdered for the white race' and is 'willing to bring more chaos in this rotten world
'Our main goal is to spread flames of Lucifer and continue his message of ethnic cleansing, great drive or purification,' the handbook said, according to the criminal complaint.
It would go on to encourage readers to commit school shootings and to use children to perpetrate suicide bombings and other mass murders targeting racial minorities, prosecutors say.
'The document describes methods and strategies for committing mass 'terror attacks,' including, for example, using vehicles to target "large outdoor festivals, conventions, celebrations and parades" and "pedestrian-congested streets,' they claim.
'It specifically encourages committing attacks within the United States.'
Chkhikvishvili would even allegedly tell others he committed hate crimes while living with his grandmother in Brooklyn in 2022 - bragging to the leader of the Feurkrieg Division, another neo-Nazi group, that he tortured and tried to kill an elderly Jewish man. Investigators later determined that Chkhikvishvili had worked for a Brooklyn-based rehabilitation facility and was employed by an Orthodox Jewish family to care for a now-deceased man.
'I got paid to torture dying Jew,' he allegedly bragged in a message to the other neo-Nazi leader, sharing photos from the elderly man's hospital bed. But the feds are not accusing Chkhikvishvili for the man's death, noting they spoke to family members of the deceased who said he 'had been sick for some time.'
Chkhikvishviliv is now facing a maximum of 20 years in prison for solicitation of felonies, conspiring to solicit violent felonies, distributing information pertaining to the making and use of explosive devices and transmitting threatening communication. It is unclear whether he has retained an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
[Federalist] Nobody wants to hear this because of the implications, but oh well, because it needs to be said: Joe Biden’s security regime deliberately and with malice and forethought created the conditions that led to an attempted assassin shooting Donald Trump in the head. It is by the grace of God that he lived and our nation is not currently in the midst of a violent civil war.
They deliberately starved Trump’s security team of the resources it needed. And they did it repeatedly, over many weeks and months.
With Trump’s security detail understaffed, under-resourced, and stretched to its limits, Biden’s security regime reportedly diverted even more resources to a hastily planned Jill Biden event that just happened to be in the area.
Biden’s security regime then ordered the most obvious assassination perch in the entire area to remain outside the main security perimeter.
Furthermore, Biden’s Secret Service director ordered law enforcement and counter-snipers OFF the roof the assassin used.
If that weren’t enough, Biden’s security regime also refused to block the line of sight from the assassin’s perch to Trump’s location. When law enforcement radioed in a suspicious person using a laser range finder at the building and even took photos of him, nothing was done to detain the assassin.
The assassin was so obviously a threat that bystanders at the event begged law enforcement to stop him, but nothing happened. And even as snipers on the roof near Trump saw a gunman on the other roof, Biden’s security regime refused to have agents immediately surround Trump or remove him from the stage to protect him from being shot.
Given the lies and nonsense from both Biden’s Department of Homeland Security secretary and his Secret Service director, it’s increasingly difficult to believe this was just a series of independent mistakes (Secret Service director Kim Cheatle at one point this week claimed snipers couldn’t be on the roof because it was sloped and they might fall and hurt themselves). In contrast, when you look at the entire picture, what you see better resembles a deliberate plan to make Trump vulnerable but to appear at first glance to be just a couple of innocent mistakes.
And when you add in how little information we’ve been given about the shooter — apparently the only person on Earth not on the internet — you begin to wonder if maybe a group of people at a different three-letter agency might have been working on a parallel track to find and encourage people to take action against Trump at the very same time he was kept vulnerable by Biden’s regime.
We know this happens because the FBI did it with Gretchen Whitmer: It recruited and urged disturbed individuals to buy weapons and put together a plan to kidnap her. In that case, the FBI wanted a story it could use to slime right-wingers. So it created the story itself.

We have passed the point where all this can be explained by incompetence. I think this was a deliberate attempt to leave gaps for Trump to be assassinated. And I believe certain other parties in the government 'arranged/groomed' this guy for the hit.

A man armed with an AK-47 pistol and wearing a ski mask was arrested on Monday just blocks from Fiserv Forum where the Republican National Convention is being held in Milwaukee, a federal law enforcement source confirmed to Fox News.
Homeland Security Investigators and Capitol Police were conducting surveillance near the RNC perimeter when they noticed a suspicious man approaching. He was wearing a ski mask and carrying a tactical bag, Fox News’ source confirmed. Clearly, they was 'profiling'.
Inside the bag, police found the gun and a full magazine. His intentions were unclear.
Milwaukee Police confirmed the incident to Fox News, saying a 21-year-old man was arrested around 1 p.m. on Monday on the 1200 block of N. 11th Street.
Police said the man does not have a concealed weapon license in Wisconsin or any other state.
Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office, police said.
Fox News reached out to the Secret Service about the incident and was referred to Milwaukee Police. Fox News also reached out to Homeland Security Investigations and the Department of Homeland Security, but has not yet heard back.
This is not the only disturbing security concern to take place at the RNC. On Tuesday, a man was shot and killed by police about 2 miles from Fiserv Forum. A witness told Fox News the man lived in a nearby homeless camp and was brandishing a knife when he was shot.
Also on Tuesday, Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Minn., said he was assaulted by a protester. He said a member of CODEPINK assaulted him while he was waiting in line to enter the venue. He called it an "incident of political violence."
CODEPINK said the woman "was intentionally bumped into by this bald, white member of Congress while he tried to shove past her." The activist group denied Orden was assaulted.
This all comes as Tuesday’s theme of the RNC is "Make America Safe Once Again" and former President Donald Trump has called to address crime in Milwaukee.

The Department of Homeland Security received intelligence from a human source on an Iranian plot to assassinate former President Trump, Fox News has been told by two federal law enforcement sources. CNN first reported that there has been an increase in Secret Service protection for Trump in recent weeks because of this intelligence. DHS and Secret Service have increasingly been concerned about Trump holding outdoor events, Fox News is told.
The plot doesn't appear to be connected to Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, the gunman who shot Trump during his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, over the weekend, the sources said. Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations denied the allegations, calling them "unsubstantiated and malicious" in a statement to Fox News Digital. Trump directed the January 2020 strike that killed Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the leader of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Forces.

Initial autopsy results showed traces of cyanide in the blood of six Vietnamese and American guests at a central Bangkok luxury hotel, and one of them is believed to have poisoned the others over a bad investment, Thai authorities said Wednesday.
The bodies were found Tuesday in the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, a landmark at a central intersection in the capital busy with malls, government buildings and public transit.
The six had last been seen alive when food was delivered to the room Monday afternoon. The staff saw one woman receive the food, and security footage showed the rest arriving one by one shortly after. There were no other visitors, no one was seen leaving and the door was locked. A maid found them Tuesday afternoon when they failed to check out of the room.
Upon entering the room, hotel staff found that food ordered from the previous day was left untouched, with some servings of fried rice still under plastic wrap. While the food was untouched, several used teacups were on a nearby table, next to two thermoses.
Lt. Gen. Trairong Piwpan, chief of the Thai police force's forensic division, said there were traces of cyanide in the cups and thermoses police found.
Initial results from autopsies of the six bodies, performed at Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn Hospital, were shared later Wednesday. Kornkiat Vongpaisarnsin, head of the forensic medicine department at Chulalongkorn University’s medical school, said at a news conference that there was cyanide found in the blood of all six, and a CAT scan showed no signs of blunt force trauma, reinforcing the hypothesis that they had been poisoned.
Chulalongkorn’s dean of medicine, Chanchai Sittipunt, said the team knew enough from the cyanide to determine it was likely the cause of death.
Bangkok police chief Lt. Gen. Thiti Sangsawang identified the dead as two Vietnamese Americans and four Vietnamese nationals, and said they were three men and three women. Their ages ranged from 37 to 56, according to Noppasin Punsawat, Bangkok deputy police chief. He said the case appeared to be personal and would not impact the safety of tourists.
A husband and wife among the dead had invested about 10 million baht ($278,000) with two of the others, and that could be a motive, said Noppasin, citing information obtained from relatives. The investment was meant to build a hospital in Japan and the group might have been meeting to settle the matter. Police say one killed the rest but did not say which of the six was the suspect.
Bangkok police chief Lt. Gen. Thiti Sangsawang said Tuesday that four bodies were in the living room and two in the bedroom. He said two bodies appeared to have tried reaching for the door but collapsed before they could.
Noppasin said Wednesday that a seventh person whose name was part of the hotel booking was a sibling of one of the six and left Thailand on July 10. Police believe the seventh person had no involvement in the deaths.
The Vietnamese and United States embassies have been contacted over the deaths, and the American FBI was en route, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said.
"This wasn’t an act of terrorism or a breach in security. Everything is fine," he said.
Trairong said a mass suicide was unlikely because some of them had arranged future parts of their trip, such as guides and drivers. He added that the bodies being in different parts of the hotel room suggested they did not knowingly consume poison and wait for their deaths together.
U.S. State Dept. spokesperson Matthew Miller in Washington offered condolences to the families of the dead. He said the U.S. is closely monitoring the situation and would communicate with local authorities. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with his Thai counterpart Tuesday, but Miller said he thought that call happened before the deaths were reported and he didn’t know if it came up in their conversation.
The five-star Grand Hyatt Erawan is one of Bangkok's landmark hotels. The eponymous Erawan Shrine that sits on the corner of its block has been a major tourist draw ever since it was erected on the advice of astrologers during the hotel's construction in 1956 to ward off bad karma.
Visitors worship the shrine, requesting divine intervention on issues from relationship troubles to exam preparation. The shrine was the target of a 2015 bombing that killed 20 people and injured more than 100.

[MSN -WashingtonPost] Within seconds of 20-year-old Pennsylvania resident Thomas Matthew Crooks opening fire at former president Donald Trump’s rally in Butler on Saturday evening, he was fatally shot by the Secret Service. But how did a specialized team of countersnipers fail to prevent its worst security lapse in decades?
A Washington Post analysis, based on more than 40 videos and photos, as well as satellite imagery and terrain analysis used to build a 3D model examining the rally site and shooter’s position, found that the two Secret Service countersniper teams may have initially been hindered in their ability to see the shooter as he crawled up the roof due to its slanted sides. Trees near the rally probably played a part in obscuring the shooter from at least one team assigned to detect and neutralize would-be snipers.
The Secret Service is responsible for the overall coordination of security measures during an event. The agency’s director said it tasked local law enforcement with securing the building from which Crooks opened fire and that officers failed to prevent him from accessing the roof.
The Secret Service declined to comment when asked whether the slant of the roof or the trees would have impacted the teams’ ability to respond.
The Post’s assessments were reviewed and corroborated by three former law enforcement officials, including two retired snipers and a former Secret Service agent, as well as a former Marine sniper.

You're right about that period in metal; Iron Maiden was out with their first albums; so were Metallica and Motley Crüe and there were tons of hair metal bands cropping up (Dokken, Skid Row, Poison, Ratt, Warrant, etc.) so Krokus is in that second tier, not rock bottom.
[FoxNews] Evan Wright, the author of the book "Generation Kill," who rose to prominence as a journalist when he embedded himself with the U.S. Marines during the Iraq War, has died at the age of 59.

Bikers going more or less with traffic are bad enough. Barely missed, a couple of times, black guys gutting across multiple lanes forcing jam stops and swervng.

I went through the process of updating it through the Electronic Freedom Foundation's certbot program which provides free ssl for websites. Fortunately, Fred already had the executable installed, so the outage was only for about 90 mins or so.
And technically, the web server wasn't out, most of ya'll's browsers refused to connect to a non-ssl website.
The outage from 10 days or so ago, wasn't an outage: Fred lost his comms, but it was restored.

A local cop called in a report about a suspicious person using a range finder just outside of the security screening. But they lost the guy in the crowd until bystanders saw him on the roof - the roof of the most obvious place to shoot from that was somehow officially "outside the security perimeter". I assume they posted "No Shooting From Beyond This Point" signs as part of the site prep.

I would recommend transportation decoys, both air and ground. I would also recommend increased security for Trump and Vance families. Future Trump rally activity could be VTC Jumbo Screen. Inauguration event should be downsized or VTC.
[THISDAYLIVE] The United States government has revealed plans to supply drones to Nigeria as part of its commitment to help overcome security challenges in the country.
The American Ambassador to Nigeria, Ms. Mary Beth Leonard, stated this in Sokoto at a round table discussion with journalists in the state.
She said the drones would help Nigeria to end the activities of bandidos, kidnappers, and Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... in the country.
The American ambassador said: "Insecurity has shortchanged the development of the country in many areas of human endeavour.
"America is concern about the security situation of the country."
The ambassador further explained that the US has been supportive of Nigeria on information gathering and hardware to combat security through modern technologies and other relevant areas of concern.
She said, however, protocols and channels that facilitate the implementations were considered by departments and expertise.
The ambassador who is going round states in the country to inspect American programs in the country said, "USAID had from 2015 to date invested about one hundred and twenty-two million dollars on different activities that comprised improving primary healthcare, immunisations, public access to quality healthcare, education, agriculture, and empowerments programmes.
"USAID future interactions aimed at strengthening the commitments include improving agriculturalists’ capacity for farmers to engage on right agricultural practices for growth and enhanced food production."
She added that the Safe Schools Initiative and other educational support was accorded with priority, stressing that the US government accorded respect and concern on the plights of Nigerians.
She noted that the US government is assisting Nigeria in various human endeavours, stressing that her country is the largest single bilateral contributor to Nigeria.
The Ambassador commended the Sokoto State government for its commitment to developing the agricultural sector especially the cotton value chain.
