Trump agrees to FBI interview over attempted assassination
Bring your own cameraman, Mr. President
[IsraelTimes] Former President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
has agreed to be interviewed by the FBI as part of an investigation into his attempted liquidation in Pennsylvania earlier this month, a special agent says.

The expected interview with the 2024 Republican presidential nominee is part of the FBI’s standard protocol to speak with victims during the course of its criminal investigations. The FBI said on Friday that Trump was struck in the ear by a bullet or a fragment of one during the July 13 liquidation attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

"We want to get his perspective on what he observed," says Kevin Rojek, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office. "It is a standard victim interview like we would do for any other victim of crime, under any other circumstance."

Trump says in a Fox News interview that he expects the FBI interview to take place Thursday.

Through more than 450 interviews, the FBI has fleshed out a portrait of the gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, that reveals him to be a "highly intelligent" but reclusive 20-year-old whose primary social circle was his family and who maintained few friends and acquaintances throughout his life, Rojek says. Even in online gaming platforms that Crooks visited, his interactions with peers appeared to have been minimal, the FBI says.

His parents have been "extremely cooperative," with the investigation, Rojek says. They have said they had no advance knowledge of the shooting.

The FBI has not uncovered a motive as to why he chose to target Trump, but Sherlocks believe the shooting was the result of extensive planning, including the purchase under an alias in recent months of chemical precursors that Sherlocks believe were used to create the bombs found in his car and his home, and the deployment of a drone about 200 yards (180 meters) from the rally site in the hours before the event.

Judge orders UCLA to draw up plan to protect Jewish students
[IsraelTimes] A federal judge has ordered the University of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Los Angeles, to craft a plan to protect Jewish students, months after pro-Paleostinian protests broke out on campus.

Three Jewish students sued the university in June, alleging that they experienced discrimination on campus amid demonstrations against the Israel-Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
war. Yitzchok Frankel, a UCLA law student who is Jewish, said in the lawsuit that he declined an invitation from the director of student life to help host a lunch gathering because he did not feel safe participating.

"Under ordinary circumstances, I would have leapt at the chance to participate in this event," Frankel said. "My Jewish identity and religion are integral to who I am, and I believe it is important to mentor incoming students and encourage them to be proud of their Judaism, too."

But Frankel argued UCLA was failing to foster a safe environment for Jewish students on campus.

UCLA spokesperson Mary Osako says the school is "committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive campus, holding those who engaged in violence accountable, and combatting antisemitism in all forms."

"We have applied lessons learned from this spring’s protests and continue to work to foster a campus culture where everyone feels welcome and free from intimidation, discrimination and harassment," Osako says in a statement.

The university was ordered to craft a proposed plan by next month.

[IsraelTimes] US Central Command (CENTCOM) says its forces successfully destroyed one Iranian-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. Pittsburgh synagogue vandalized with pro-Hamas graffiti
[IsraelTimes] Inverted red triangle used by Hamas in propaganda videos showing attacks on Israelis painted alongside ‘Jews for Palestine’ on Squirrel Hill Chabad. Federation, homes also hit

Vandals painted a symbol associated with Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
on a synagogue in Pittsburgh, near the site of the deadliest attack on Jews in US history.

The slogan "Jews for Paleostine" and an inverted red triangle appeared Monday on Chabad of Squirrel Hill, walking distance from Tree of Life, the synagogue complex where a white supremacist murdered 11 Jews in 2018. The building is across the street from a Jewish day school.

The inverted red triangle is linked to the Hamas terror group, which has used it on propaganda videos produced by its al-Qassam military wing to signify Israeli targets. It has since been adopted by pro-Paleostinian demonstrators.

Last month, vandals painted a red triangle on the home of the Jewish director of the Brooklyn Museum while a banner they strung across her porch branded her a "white supremacist Zionist." The triangle was also used with graffiti threatening "Hamas is coming" painted on a statue near Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, last week.

Some pro-Paleostinian advocates say the triangle symbolizes resistance, generally, and have used it as a pro-Paleostinian signifier in their social media profiles. But critics say it represents a call to violence given its origins.

"The Squirrel Hill community witnessed the deadliest act of antisemitism in our nation’s history at Tree of Life Synagogue," Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Jewish Democrat, said on social media. "They should not need to wake up to antisemitic graffiti in their neighborhood. Vandalism of any type of a house of worship has no home in our Commonwealth — and we must all continue to call it out and speak with moral clarity."

Rabbi Yisroel Altein, the director of the Chabad synagogue, said the municipality had already cleaned up the graffiti and that he had shared security camera footage with the police.

"People are obviously fearful, considering," he said, referring to the 2018 shooting. But he said there was also a lot of local support, which was heartening. "Everyone’s reaching out, expressing their support and willingness to help."

A sign outside the office of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh was also vandalized. It said the federation "funds genocide" and used emojis and words to exhort observers to love Jews but "hate Zionists."

"For a Jewish community still healing from the worst antisemitic attack in U.S. history in 2018 and now retraumatized by the worst single act of terrorism against Jews since the Holocaust, these acts of vandalism are particularly despicable," the federation said in a statement, which noted that several private homes had also been vandalized. "Vandalism targeting Jews is criminal hate speech, pure and simple."

Separately, vandals in Calgary, Canada, on Saturday night painted the red triangle along a route that a local synagogue, Beth Tzedec, had publicized for an Israel solidarity march that took place the next day.

"Free Paleostine" and the triangle appeared on a sound barrier. David Inhaber, the synagogue’s CEO, said there was also graffiti daubed on an overpass. Both properties belong to the municipality.

"We had upwards of a thousand registrants and walk ups and at 1 pm yesterday, we commenced our march around the neighborhood," Inhaler said. "I believe through advertising and media the route was shared on social media or simply leaked allowing for graffiti to be introduced the previous evening. It was adjacent to our property and along the route."

Inhaber said the community reported the graffiti to police.

Judge Dumps Suit by Former 'Disinformation Czar,' Says She Really Was a Government Censor
[PJMedia] Nina Jankowicz, the one-time (and short-lived) head of the Department of Homeland Security's "Disinformation Governance Board," filed suit against Fox News last year alleging that the network "built a narrative calculated to lead consumers to believe that Jankowicz intended to censor Americans' speech" among other allegations.

In a delicious and deserved irony, the judge summarily tossed the suit, writing that, in essence, Fox told the truth.

"Fox contends, and I agree, that Jankowicz has not pleaded facts from which it could plausibly be inferred that the challenged statements regarding intended censorship by Jankowicz are not substantially true," U.S. District Judge Colm F. Connolly wrote in his July 22 order to dismiss. "On the contrary, as noted above, censorship is commonly understood to encompass efforts to scrutinize and examine speech in order to suppress certain communications. The Disinformation Governance Board was formed precisely to examine citizens' speech and, in coordination with the private sector, identify 'misinformation,' 'disinformation," and 'malinformation.'"

Case dismissed.

The Disinformation Board was tasked with searching far and wide across the internet to ferret out "misinformation (unintentional falsehoods), disinformation (deliberate falsehoods), and malinformation (inconveniently shared truths)," as J.D. Tuccille of Reason.com reports.

The problems with this mandate are that 1) it's the government doing the policing, and 2) trying to decipher and separate truth from fiction, fact from fancy, and interpreting any speech based on subjective criteria is idiotic and unconstitutional.

In addition to the allegation that Fox News spread information about Jankowicz's role with the Disinformation Board, she claimed the network also:

  • "said that Jankowicz was fired from DHS" even though "Jankowicz had resigned due to harassment arising from Fox's defamation," and

  • "said that Jankowicz wanted to give verified Twitter users the power to edit others' tweets."

Tuccille notes that "Judge Connolly found that 36 of 37 specified criticisms were leveled at the board as a whole and not her. Further, many statements were expressions of opinion, which are not actionable under U.S. law."

Even more embarrassing for Jankowicz, Judge Connolly found that most of the allegations were true.

US: Fuad Shukr sits on Hezbollah’s top military body, previously aided pro-Assad forces in Syria

By LAZAR BERMAN
According to the US State Department’s Rewards for Justice program, Fuad Shukr — aka Hajj Mohsin — serves as a senior military adviser to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. He also sits on the Jihad Council, Hezbollah’s top military body.

Shukr played a “central role” in the 1983 bombing of US Marine Corps barracks that left 241 US Marines dead, according to the State Department.

The State Department reported that during the Syrian civil war he “aided [Hezbollah] fighters and pro-Syrian regime troops” as they battled anti-Assad forces.

The US placed a $5 million bounty on his head.

My Lai massacre army officer William Calley dead at 80: The only person convicted over 1968 atrocity in which US troops killed hundreds of unarmed South Vietnamese died in a hospice
[MAIL] William Calley, the army officer who was the only person to be convicted in relation to the mass murder of Vietnamese civilians, including children, in what came to be known as the My Lai massacre, has died at the age of 80.

The Washington Post on Monday first reported Calley's death, which happened in April, according to a death certificate the newspaper cited. The New York Times, citing Social Security Administration death records, also reported Calley's death.

Neither paper reported a cause of death. Calls to numbers listed for Calley's son, William L. Calley III, were not returned.

American soldiers killed 504 people on March 16, 1968, in Son My, a collection of hamlets between the central Vietnamese coast and a ridge of misty mountains, in an incident known in the West as the My Lai Massacre. The killings shocked the U.S. and galvanized the anti-war movement.

Initially charged in an Army court martial for 102 deaths, Calley was sentenced to life in prison in 1971 for the killing of 22 civilians. #4  The Viet Cong and the NVA committed similar atrocities against hostile civilians in the South. The Tet Offensive was when a tiny portion of these atrocities came to light. The dreary reality is that they were essential in order to rapidly force civilians who were aiding the enemy to switch sides. The ROKs in Vietnam used similar measures, and in so doing, rejiggered the balance of terror such that the civilians in their sector feared the Koreans more than they feared the VC. The result being that the VC learned to avoid ROK sectors because civilians there would not hide, feed or supply them, for fear of being tortured or killed by the Koreans. For whatever reason, Korean threats outweighed similar VC threats.

Crucial southwestern battleground holds Senate, House primaries today
[FoxNews] After narrowly losing Arizona's gubernatorial election in 2022, Trump surrogate Kari Lake is the clear front-runner in Tuesday's GOP Senate primary

The key southwestern general election battleground state of Arizona holds primaries on Tuesday, which will set the stage for likely competitive autumn showdowns that may determine control of the House and Senate.

The contest grabbing the most national attention is the race to succeed Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, the Democrat-turned-independent who is not seeking a second six-year term in the Senate.

Kari Lake, the front-runner for the Republican Senate nomination, on the eve of the primary teamed up with former President Trump for a tele-rally. Lake is a top surrogate for the former president as he seeks to regain the White House and gave an address two weeks ago at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Lake, the former TV anchor and major MAGA supporter who never acknowledged her narrow 2022 election defeat for governor, enjoys Trump's backing as she runs for the Senate in a race that is one of a handful that may determine if the GOP wins back the chamber's majority.

Besides enjoying the Republican presidential nominee's support, Lake also has a major fundraising advantage over her two GOP primary rivals: Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb and neuroscientist Elizabeth Reye.

Democrats control the Senate with a 51-49 majority, but Republicans are looking at a favorable Senate map with Democrats defending 23 of the 34 seats up for grabs. Three of those seats are in red states Trump easily carried in 2020: West Virginia, Montana and Ohio.

Five other seats are in key swing states narrowly carried by President Biden in 2020: Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

In the race for the House, the GOP holds a fragile majority in the chamber. And in Arizona, Democrats are aiming to unseat two vulnerable Republican incumbents in districts Biden carried four years ago.

In the 1st Congressional District, which includes parts of northeast Phoenix and surrounding suburbs, seven-term GOP incumbent Rep. David Schweikert is the front-runner in a field of primary rivals that includes businessman Robert Backie and former FBI agent and corporate investigator Kim George.

There's a crowded field of Democrats vying for their party's nomination.

In the southeastern part of the state, Republican Rep. Juan Ciscomani is running for a second term in a district that includes much of suburban Tucson.

He's facing off on Tuesday in a GOP primary that includes challenger Kathleen Winn, who came in third in the 2022 nomination race.

If Ciscomani wins the primary as expected, he'll face off in November against Democrat Kisten Engel in a rematch of their extremely close 2022 election showdown.

Meanwhile, in the red-leaning 8th Congressional District, Trump has endorsed both major candidates in the Republican primary, Blake Masters and Abe Hamadeh, who ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate and state attorney general in 2022.

Missouri AG filing lawsuit against Biden administration for allegedly flying illegal immigrants to state
[FoxNews] According to Bailey's lawsuit, the government has not provided records on illegal immigrant transportation into Missouri.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is filing a lawsuit against the Biden administration for reportedly flying illegal immigrants to Missouri.

Bailey told Fox News Digital he is filing a lawsuit against President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for refusing to turn over documents related to flying illegal immigrants into Missouri.

"We have reason to believe they are deliberately flying illegal aliens from the border into our cities. Not on my watch," Bailey wrote in a post on X.

In his lawsuit that he shared exclusively with Fox News Digital, Bailey says the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has intentionally delayed responding to his request for the documents about the flights to Missouri.

"This game of ‘hide and seek’ violates the spirit and the letter of FOIA, which states that an agency shall withhold information only when the agency ‘reasonably foresees that disclosure would harm an interest protected by an exemption’ or if ‘disclosure is prohibited by law’," the lawsuit reads.

"DHS’s withholding of crucial information has frustrated the ability of citizens to exercise the rights Congress outlined in the FOIA statute. This lack of transparency and refusal to comply with lawful FOIA demands has hindered efforts by the Missouri Attorney General's Office to determine the size and scope of illegal immigration within the Show Me state," the lawsuit continued.

Bailey said the transportation of illegal immigrants into Missouri is a matter of public concern, and the citizens of Missouri have a right to know the facts about these alleged activities.

Government Corruption
Dr Anthony Fauci is caught in new email storm linked to controversial beagle experiments
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Dr. Anthony Fauci is being accused of lying to Congress last month when he said he never used private email to conduct official business.

Fauci, 83, told a journalist in 2021 that he would reach out to them through his private email as he faced backlash over research being done on beagle puppies by his National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID).

The project saw innocent hound dogs tormented and killed in a lab in Tunisia to learn more about a parasitic disease, something the NIAID initially denied funding before Fauci confirmed this year that was a fib.

It also saw the hashtag #ArrestFauci trend on the site formerly known as Twitter, as he also faced backlash over his handling of the pandemic. The now-retired expert faced a grilling about this in June as well.

The White Coat Waste Project, who years ago revealed how NIAID spent $1.86million in taxpayer funds on the tests, has now uncovered correspondence where the doctor told a reporter he would message him personally as they spoke briefly about the then budding scandal.

Back in June, the former head of the NIAID told lawmakers he never used a personal email to discuss work - a stance that, while now coming into question, he continues to maintain.

'I will send you an e-mail via my gmail account,' Fauci wrote in the email dated October 29, 2021, and sent to Washington Post reporter Yasmeen Abutaleb.

Shortly before, the journalist who had been the national health policy reporter for the paper at the time, sent a message that appeared to air pity toward the doc about the series of 'crazy articles' that had surfaced surrounding the beagle experiments.

Earlier emails showed how Fauci shared an article from the fact check website Snopes, in which journalists seemingly sought to cast doubt on his connection to the experiments.

The article further suggested Fauci, who retired in August 2022, did not sign off on the taxpayer-funded experiments, which, aside from spawning widespread outrage, warranted a scathing rebuke from members of Congress.

The Snopes article called them 'rumors' designed to 'disparage' the then-NIAID director, and Fauci in turn wrote to the journalist, 'As per our discussion, more of the same.'

The latter appeared to dismiss legitimate questions about the experiments where dogs were left for sand flies to be eaten alive for research purposes as outlandish.

Some three years later, he would concede to a House subcommittee that he 'signed off' on grants that funded the tests - an admission offered before several lawmakers on June 3.

The inconsistency isn't the first from the lifelong doctor, and apparently isn't the last either, if the FOIA records obtained by the White Coat Waste Project and The New York Post are to be taken seriously.

As mentioned, the exchange - occurring less than a year before Fauci's retirement and Abutaleb's seemingly simultaneously ascension to Post White House reporter - suggested the doctor sent an email to the woman from his personal account.

In a fact-check last month surrounding the now confirmed Beagle experiment, the Washington Post found the government-sanctioned was erased from a grant database weeks after members of the press began inquiring about it in 2021.

'Beaglegate' was thus born, a mostly online movement that questioned Fauci and the government's involvement that culminated with White Coat Waste Project in 2022 releasing internal NIAID documents that included the full grant proposal.

Months before, Fauci had asked NIAID staff for details of the grant - after which one of the agency’s employees pressured the journal that published the study to remove its affiliation, according to internal NIAID documents obtained by White Coat Waste.

Representatives for the NIAID would then argue it funded a separate but similar study involving sand flies, before Fauci slammed reports on the experiments as 'lunacy' from the 'far-right' in his recent memoir.

However, days before the book published, he suddenly changed his tune - telling Congress he did, in fact, sign off on the Tunisia experiments - 'because they were approved by a peer review', he said in his June 3 testimony.

The committee had already obtained a trove of emails showing one of his top aides, Dr. David Morens, using a private email account to evade FOIA requests while bragging about deleting 'smoking guns.'

Fauci’s top adviser at NIAID from 1998 to 2022, Morens is now the subject of an internal NIH investigation for alleged FOIA evasions and the deletion of federal records.

Correspondence between EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak and Fauci was also uncovered, after the nonprofit received more than half a million in funding from NIH to help conduct gain-of-function experiments at the Wuhan Institute of Virology beginning in 2014.

Teenage mom, 18, gives sickening excuse for placing her newborn baby in trash bag and tossing it in a dumpster after giving birth behind a taco stand
A teenage mom who was apparently living in the country illegally has given a sickening excuse for placing her newborn baby in a trash bag and tossing it in a dumpster.

Everilda Cux-Ajtzalam, 18, a Guatemalan national, was taken into custody on Thursday for allegedly leaving the baby boy with his umbilical cord still attached in the dumpster outside of an apartment building in Houston, Texas on July 21.

She allegedly told police in the aftermath that she thought she had 'no choice' but to put the baby in the dumpster because she didn't want her boyfriend to break up with her, according to court documents obtained by Law & Crime.

The documents go on to reveal she gave birth 'on the ground behind the food truck where she works' and then taking the baby - referred to in court documents as John Doe or CW - and placing him in a dumpster.

'[Defendant] put the child, placenta and umbilical cord into a trash bag, took the trash bag to a dumpster and left the child in the dumpster tied inside the trash bag,' a magistrate judge wrote in a bond order, noting that the 'event' was caught on surveillance footage.

Eventually, a passerby heard the newborn crying from the dumpster and called 911.

Officers with the Houston Police Department and emergency personnel responded to the scene at around 1.15pm.

Cux-Ajtzalam is now charged with one count of felony abandoning a child without the intent to return.

Cux-Ajtzalam's bond was later raised to $200,000 on Monday, ABC 13 reports.

She is said to be a flight risk, having no ties to the country, according to Click 2 Houston.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement have also placed a hold on her release, and court documents noted she was previously arrested in 2023 by Customs and Border Patrol.

The court documents also note she has a mental disability.

Fire At German Chemicals Plant Leaves 18 Injured
[Barrons] An explosion and subsequent fire Monday at the main plant of German chemical giant BASF left 18 people slightly injured including seven firefighters, police said.

The explosion occurred around at the massive Ludwigshafen plant, BASF said, setting off a fire that was extinguished by an hour later.

The company said its injured employees had received care on site.

Images showed a cloud of smoke emanating from the Ludwigshafen plant, the largest chemicals complex in the world.

Residents were initially told to keep doors and windows shut, but authorities in the western German city later gave the all-clear.

Environmental monitoring vehicles had detected "slightly elevated levels of hydrocarbons" in the immediate area, BASF said.

Congressional Panel Finds that U.S. Military Is ‘Not Prepared' for War
[Breitbart] A report has found that the United States military is "not prepared" to fight in a major war, as "major powers" — such as Russia and China — have become "top threats" to the U.S., with China "outpacing" the U.S.

The report, which the Commission on the National Defense Strategy released in July, reveals that while the U.S. is currently facing some of "the most serious and most challenging" threats since 1945, several problems are preventing the U.S. military from being able to address threats from China or Russia.

Among the problems preventing the U.S. military from addressing threats from China and Russia is reportedly the Department of Defense’s (DOD) "business practices, byzantine research," and its "reliance on decades-old military hardware," which reflects "an era of uncontested military dominance." The report adds that "such methods" are "not suited to today’s strategic environment."

not yet IMO

we know from the 2018 situation that a lot of the enlisted troops are anti regime; back then the anti regime people were able to get a few generals to defect but didn't get much farther than that

In the months before now, Maduro promoted many officers hoping to get loyalty. I saw one estimate that there are now about 1 General or Admiral and 30 other officers for every 60 enlisted soldiers.

Every situation has potential moments that can change the balance.

Also some estimate that Iran and Cuba have a few hundred soldiers on site to keep the Venezuelan military in line but this is just a rumor.

Hezbollah moves missiles as region braces for IDF response to deadly Golan attack
[IsraelTies] Two members of terror group killed in Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon; ministers reportedly not shown retaliation options for fear they would leak them

Hezbollah has begun moving around its precision-guided missiles, as the region braced for a fierce Israeli response to a rocket attack by the terror group over the weekend that killed 12 children.
I imagine the Eyes in the Sky are fascinated.
An official with a Lebanese group told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named on Monday that Hezbollah’s stance has not changed, and that the Iran-backed organization does not want a full-blown war with Israel, but that if war breaks out it will fight without limits.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive activities, said Hezbollah since Sunday has started moving some of its "smart precision-guided missiles" to use if needed.

Earlier Monday, two Hezbollah operatives were killed in an IDF dronezap in southern Leb

. Lebanese rescue services said two people were killed and three were maimed, including a child, in the attack between the southern Lebanon towns of Mays al-Jabal and Shaqra.

According to Lebanese media, the strike targeted a car and a cycle of violence.

The IDF later confirmed carrying out the strike, publishing footage of the attack.

Following the attack, Hezbollah announced the deaths of two members killed "on the road to Jerusalem," its term for operatives slain in Israeli strikes. They were named as Abbas Hijazi, from Majdel Selm, and Abbas Salami, from Khirbet Selm.

Their deaths brought the terror group’s toll since the beginning of the war in the Gazoo

They were the first operatives killed in an IDF strike since Saturday, when four members of the terror group’s elite Radwan force were killed. After that, Hezbollah carried out the rocket attack on the Golan Heights town of Majdal Shams that killed 12 children and teens.

Hezbollah has denied its involvement in the attack, but Israel and the United States have blamed on the Lebanese terror group. The IDF has also provided evidence tying Hezbollah to the attack.

Israel has vowed retaliation against Hezbollah, and Israeli jets hit targets in southern Lebanon early Sunday and reportedly shelled sites there just after midnight Monday.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, another bullet hole appeared in Butch's hat......
a barrage of 20 rockets was fired Monday from Lebanon at the Gomeh Junction area, just south of Kiryat Shmona, the IDF said.

Hezbollah took responsibility for the attack, claiming to have targeted an Israeli military position in response to the deadly strike near Shaqra.

There were no injuries.

A short while after the attack, a Hezbollah site in southern Lebanon’s Houla, used to carry out the rocket barrage, was struck by fighter jets, the IDF said.

Additionally, the IDF said fighter jets struck Hezbollah infrastructure in Kfarhamam, used in a rocket attack on the Mount Dov area.

Also on Monday, a drone launched from Lebanon was shot down by the Israeli Navy over Israel’s territorial waters in northern Israel, the military said. The drone was intercepted by one of the Navy’s Sa’ar 6-class corvettes.

Over the weekend, another Hezbollah drone, thought to be heading toward Israeli offshore gas infrastructure, was shot down by the Navy.

Earlier on Monday, the IDF said a drone that crossed into the Western Galilee from Lebanon was intercepted by air defenses.

The interception triggered predawn rocket sirens in the towns of Yaara and Adamit due to fears of falling shrapnel, according to the IDF.

Late Sunday, Lebanese media reports Israeli Arclight airstrike

And on Sunday morning, the IDF said fighter jets struck a series of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon the previous night, following the Majdal Shams attack.

The targets included weapon depots and other infrastructure in Shabriha and Burj el-Shemali near Tyre; the Beqaa Valley; and southern Lebanon’s Kafr Kila, Rab al-Thalathine, Khiam and Tayr Harfa, according to the military.

None of those strikes appeared to be Israel’s response to the deadly Hezbollah rocket attack on Majdal Shams, which is expected to be more significant.

So far, the skirmishes have resulted in 24 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 18 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.

Hezbollah has named 383 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon but some in Syria. In Lebanon, another 68 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have been killed.

After the UK earlier this month restored funding to UNRWA — the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees and their descendants — and withdrew its objection to the International Criminal Court prosecutor’s request for arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, several outlets said that Israel believes that within the next few days, the UK could announce an end to the sale of arms to Israel.

The Ynet news site, which didn’t cite sources, said Israel is concerned that if the UK were to end weapons exports, other countries could follow.

Other outlets then reported similar details, some citing unnamed diplomatic sources.

While still in the opposition, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy had said earlier this year that the government should suspend the sale of British arms if there was a clear risk they might be used in a serious breach of humanitarian law.

Now in government, he said last week that he had requested an assessment of the legal situation regarding weapons use in Gaza, and that he hoped to be able to communicate any decisions with "full accountability and transparency."

The defense secretary, who has said he wants a balanced position on Israel and Gaza, signaled earlier this month that even in the event that the UK limits the sale of offensive weapons, it would not implement a blanket ban on arms sales to Israel.

Questioned by a Green Party politician on whether he would act to stop "all UK arms exports to Israel," Lammy answered in the negative, stressing the need for Israel to have access to defensive weapons.

"Israel is a country surrounded by people who would love to see its annihilation," Lammy said at the time. "It is being attacked by the Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
s, missiles are being fired from Hezbollah, notwithstanding the desire for Hamas to wipe Israel off the map.

"For those reasons, it would not be right to have a blanket ban between our country and Israel," he added.

While the UK’s previous Conservative government was a strong supporter of Israel’s right to defend itself following the October 7 Hamas terror onslaught, Rooters found in June that the value of Britannia’s approvals of new arms licenses had dropped sharply after the start of the war, with the value of permits granted for the sale of military equipment to its ally falling by more than 95 percent to a 13-year low.

Hamas-run health ministry declares polio epidemic in Gaza

[IsraelTimes] Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry declares a polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set. Currently the disease is only found in Pakistain and Afghanistain...

The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. Syria-Lebanon-Iran
SDF kills one in ISIS cell raid in Raqqa
28.July 2024
[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Sunday announced that its anti-terrorism units, in cooperation with the global coalition, have dismantled an Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) cell in northern Raqqa province, killing an operative and arresting another.

The SDF said in a statement that its anti-terrorism units (YAT) conducted a security operation with support from the global coalition, targeting "an ISIS terrorist cell consisting of two murderous Moslems in al-Karamah, east of Raqqa City.

"Supported by Coalition aerial surveillance, our YAT forces raided the hideout of the terrorist cell. One of the terrorists, Abu al-Harith, refused to answer the call for safe surrender and opened fire on our forces who dealt with the situation professionally and eliminated him," said the SDF, adding that another member, named Saad Salim al-Hamdan, was captured in the raid.

Though the jihadists no longer control any territory, they continue to pose a security risk by carrying out kidnappings, hit-and-run attacks, and bombings, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), who control Rojava, conduct frequent operations against the group.

The Kurdish-led and US-backed SDF fought the lion’s share of the battle against ISIS and arrested thousands of the group’s fighters along with their wives and children when they crushed ISIS territorially and took the group’s last stronghold in Syria in 2019.

The SDF has increased its anti-ISIS operations in recent weeks.

On Saturday, the SDF announced that its forces killed an ISIS operative during a security operation in eastern Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province.

In late March, the SDF warned that ISIS still poses a threat to the world and the region as its defeat "requires dismantling its ideological breeding ground."

"ISIS is still trying to recruit new terrorist elements, attempting to radicalize them into its ranks," said the SDF, calling on the international community to "collaborate effectively" with its forces.

82 families leave al-Hol camp to Deir ez-Zor: Monitor
28. July, 2024
[Rudaw] Eighty-two families linked to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) left northeast Syria's (Rojava) al-Hol camp on Sunday, heading to the eastern Deir ez-Zor province, according to a war monitor. This move marks the latest effort by Rojava authorities to empty the camp.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that 82 families, consisting of 346 people, left the notorious camp. This move aligns with the decision by authorities in Rojava to reduce the camp's population.

This was the second batch of Syrian families to leave the camp in recent months. In May, 254 people from 69 families left the camp and returned to Deir ez-Zor.

The return of the families came following coordination between the Rojava authorities and the tribal chiefs in Deir ez-Zor.

Tens of thousands of people joined ISIS from across Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured more than 10,000 ISIS snuffies and their families during the conflict. The majority of them are Syrian or Iraqi, and about 2,000 are from other countries. The fighters are kept in detention centers while the families are kept in camps.

The majority of the ISIS family members are held in al-Hol camp, which houses 45,355 people, mostly women and kiddies. This number includes 21,633 Syrians and 17,022 Iraqis, according to the latest figures from the US-led global coalition against ISIS.

Fascinating and horrifying secrets of El Salvador mega-prison for gangs credited with slashing murders by 70%
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Dramatic footage has emerged from inside El Salvador's mega-prison for gang members showing its concrete confinement cell and impenetrable security.

The Centre for the Confinement of Terrorism (CECOT) in Tecoluca is home to 40,000 of the world's most dangerous men who will never be released - each one with at least one homicide conviction.

And now YouTuber Nick Shirley has offered one of the most in-depth looks at the prison's interior yet.

He also takes a tour of the solitary confinement chamber, a narrow cell comprising only a raised concrete platform used as a bed alongside a rudimentary toilet basin.

There is no mattress on the bed and anyone finding themselves in a solitary is not given any sheets to slip on.

A sink is filled with cold water for inmates to wash on - and natural light comes from a small round hole drilled into the thick concrete ceiling.

Footage from the inside shows topless and heavily tattooed inmates lined up under the watchful eye of heavily-armed guards at the institution which has been a key part of a concerted effort to drive down El Salvador's murder rate.

The number of homicides in the Central America nation dropped 70 percent last year as authorities under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele cracked down on criminals both inside and outside the jail.

'As of right now we have not had one attempt to escape or disorder inside the prison,' a security guard told YouTube content creator Nick Shirley as he displayed a enormous hidden armory designed to deal with rioters.

Government Corruption
Woke DA is dragged into toxic nepotism fight as she's accused of hiring her marijuana selling friend
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] … on $300,000 salary with no qualification.

San Francisco's controversial DA Brooke Jenkins
…she claimed to be radically different when she led the recall effort against her Soros-supported predecessor, then fired most of his staff. But it sure looks like the biggest difference is that she is not him…
has been accused of nepotism after hiring an old friend with no legal qualifications to run her office on an eye-watering salary. Nursing professor Monifa Willis was given the $300,000 job in March, two years after Jenkins asked her to head the department's Victim Services Division.

The pair were on same high school track-and-field team and have hung out together at restaurants, football games and waxing salons
…that just expanded the list of things I do not want to know about other people…
in the last three years according to their Venmo accounts.

Jenkins did not advertise the post and allowed the former marijuana dealer to her to keep her $100,000 part-time teaching job at UCSF, despite rules banning jobs that might interfere with the office's work.

'Nepotism erodes public trust,' said Ryan Khojasteh who challenging Jenkins for her job. 'As San Franciscans, we deserve better from our District Attorney's Office.'

Whistleblowers told the SF Standard that Willis's obligations were already damaging the department when she was in charge of Victim Services.

'Stuff fell through the cracks all the time because she was too busy doing two jobs,' a former staffer said. 'I've seen her (teaching online) classes during work hours.

'She was given this position because she knew the DA.'

And a former senior administrator in the office said legal qualifications are a pre-requisite for doing the job effectively.

'You have to have some basic understanding of the criminal justice system, and you don't get that as a victim services advocate,' he added.

Jenkins was appointed DA by city mayor London Breed in July 2022 after campaigning for the recall of incumbent Chesa Boudin.
...the much-maligned Soros tool and Weatherman scion (remember them?) who was recalled by the voters after they voted him in on promises to do exactly what they later recalled him for. He is now running UC-Berkeley Law’s criminal justice center, which is an interesting choice…
She stepped into a role once held by Vice-President Kamala Harris promising to 'hold drug dealers accountable for their crimes' and 'end open-air drug markets' which had been allowed to proliferate under her predecessor.

But the number of people living on the streets has soared to more than 8,000 as businesses and residents have continued their exodus from the heart of the city.

An exacting job description for the role of DA chief-of-staff says the office holder 'oversees, develops and delegates responsibilities for essential processes of the city's preeminent law enforcement agency including areas of policy and legislation, staffing, communications, data and research, victim services, community engagement, front office operations and all large scale projects/changes and implementations that impacts the Office'.

Willis's experience includes time as the CEO of a now defunct marijuana dispensary called New Life CA.
That doesn’t feel at all the same as a dealer
Neighboring Contra Costa County requires its DA's chief-of-staff to have a law license and 10 years of professional legal experience. San Francisco requires four years of managerial experience in a legal, legislative or clinical social environment.

But Jenkins said Willis was eminently qualified when she announced the appointment in March, hailing her 'wealth of operational experience as an organizer that has successfully launched state recognized mental health programming and improved hospital operations to better serve children and families'.

The questions emerged just days after a former employee of the Victim Services division sued the DA's department after losing his job because of an accidental 'reply-all' email.

Jovan Thomas, 56, filed the complaint Friday, six months after he was fired for asking Jenkins 'what color' her panties were in a message sent to the entire office.

Soon after Thomas sent the email, Chief Assistant District Attorney Ana Gonzalez sent the office an email saying the issue was being handled by the administration and asking staff to delete the email and not share it.

Thomas, on his part, claimed he meant to send the message as a joke to a fraternity brother. He was fired that day, but now claims that after his employment was terminated, defendants violated his privacy and defamed him by misrepresenting what had happened. He is seeking a jury trial and compensatory and punitive damages as a result.

North Korean officials looking to import treatment for Kim's obesity-related health issues: Seoul
[FoxNews] Infamous NK dictator reportedly weighs about 308 pounds, despite standing at only 5'8"
Pray for sepsis, as our Dr. Steve used to say.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has regained weight and appears to have obesity-related health problems such as high blood pressure and diabetes, and his officials are looking for new medicines abroad to treat them, South Korea’s spy agency told lawmakers on Monday.

The 40-year-old Kim, known for heavy drinking and smoking, comes from a family with a history of heart problems. Both his father and grandfather, who ruled North Korea before his 2011 inheritance of power, died of heart issues.

Some observers said Kim, who is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and previously weighed 308 pounds, appeared to have lost a large amount of weight in 2021, likely from changing his diet. But recent state media footage show he has regained the weight.

On Monday, the National Intelligence Service, South Korea’s main spy agency, told lawmakers in a closed-door briefing that Kim is estimated to weigh about 308 pounds again and belongs to a high-risk group for heart disease, according to Lee Seong Kweun, one of the lawmakers.

Lee said the NIS told lawmakers that Kim has shown symptoms of high blood pressure and diabetes since his early 30s. Another lawmaker, Park Sunwon, said the NIS believes Kim’s obesity is linked to his drinking, smoking and stress.

Venezuelans protest Maduro election fraud
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Courtesy of Skidmark, the BBC adds:
Security forces in Venezuela have fired tear gas and rubber bullets against people protesting over Sunday’s disputed election result.

Thousands of people descended on central Caracas on Monday evening, some walking for miles from slums on the mountains surrounding the city, towards the presidential palace.

Protests erupted in the Venezuelan capital the day after President Nicolás Maduro claimed he had won.

The opposition has disputed Mr Maduro's declaration of victory as fraudulent, saying its candidate Edmundo González won convincingly with 73.2% of the vote.

Opinion polls ahead of the election suggested a clear victory for the challenger.

Opposition parties had united behind Mr González in an attempt to unseat President Maduro after 11 years in power, amid widespread discontent over the country's economic crisis.

A number of Western and Latin American countries, as well as international bodies including the UN, have called on the Venezuelan authorities to release voting records from individual polling stations.

Argentina is one country which has refused to recognise President Maduro's election victory, and in response Venezuela recalled diplomats from Buenos Aires.

Diplomats from six other Latin American countries - Chile, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay - have also been withdrawn for what Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil described on social media as "interventionist actions and statements".

Venezuela's government also announced a temporary suspension of commercial air flights to and from Venezuela with Panama and the Dominican Republic starting from 20:00 local time on Wednesday.

A heavy military and police presence, including water cannons, was on the streets of Caracas with the aim of trying to disperse protesters and prevent them from approaching the presidential palace.

Crowds of people chanted “Freedom, freedom!” and called for the government to fall.

Footage showed tyres burning on highways and large numbers of people on the streets, with police on motorbikes firing tear gas.

In some areas, posters of President Maduro were ripped down and burned while tyres, cars and rubbish have also been set alight.

Armed police, military and left-wing paramilitaries who are sympathetic to the government clashed with protesters and blocked off many roads around the city centre.

Violence erupts at South Carolina women's shelter 'after staff unwittingly let transgender woman move in'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Staff at a facility for abused women and children unknowingly sheltered a transgender woman for weeks before she stabbed a warden so viciously her 'internal organs were exposed', police say.

Michelle Silva Perez was offered a place at Shepherd's Gate in Greenville, South Carolina, less than four miles from a men's shelter also run by Miracle Hill Ministries.

The 36-year-old had been evicted the evening before for 'not following the guidelines of the facility' but returned on July 18 armed with a sword before nearly disemboweling a staffer called Kirby.

'We found out last night that this attacker, who had been a resident at Shepherd's Gate for a few weeks, was in fact a male,' Miracle Hill Ministries CEO Ryan T. Duerk said in a statement that night.

'Let me assure you that we did not know this or suspect it, and Shepherd's Gate followed all their procedures for intake appropriately.'

Police were called at 11am when witnesses reported seeing saw Perez push the woman to the ground before stabbing her in the torso.

The victim was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery where she remains in a stable condition.

Perez was arrested at the scene and has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime'.

She was denied bond during a hearing last week and is currently being held at Greenville County Jail where she has been booked in as a male.

Lieutenant Ryan Flood of the Greenville County Sheriff's Department said she is 'in isolation because she is still transitioning to being a woman'.

The case echoes that of Harvey Marcelin, 84, who identifying as a transgender lesbian when she murdered Susan Leyden, 68, in the women's section of a New York homeless shelter in 2022.

He had already been convicted of two previous homicides by the time he was admitted to the Sage Center at Stonewall House in Brooklyn where he was filmed stuffing Leyden's headless torso into a garbage bag and dumping it in a shopping cart.

Separate store surveillance footage recorded Marcelin sitting on a severed human leg in his electric wheelchair.

Last week it emerged that a transgender murderer who pleaded to be moved to a female prison because she was suffering 'chronic diarrhea' and stress had her request denied by a federal judge.

Michelle Renee Lamb, 83, is serving three consecutive life sentences for abducting two women, strangling one to death and leaving her naked body in a field in 1969.

She is currently being held at the Topeka Correctional Facility in Kansas, having moved from a men's prison in January 2023 when she had gender-affirming surgery.

'I also suffered frequent bouts of diarrhea. This was never a problem until I was put into this hateful environment,' Lamb - who previously identified as Thomas - said in the handwritten lawsuit.

Pro Hamas Pogromists Probing for Security Info at DNC Convention
[NBC Chicago] Pro-Palestinian protesters want to know what the security footprint will be around the United Center during the Democratic National Convention later this summer. Now, amid their ongoing legal battle with the city of Chicago, the protester's attorney is proposing to depose U.S. Secret Service agents and other decision makers to find out that information...

The coalition, which represents 125 protest organizations and counting, has been fighting a legal battle with the city over its denial of protest permits. The city declined the protester's request to set up at Union Park, just blocks away from the United Center, offering a spot several miles away on Columbus Drive instead. Protesters have maintained the spot near Grant Park is not a viable solution because it is not within "sight and sound" of the convention hall.

-Great Cultural Revolution
Kamala Harris and her two [or more] socialist proposals to crush the US economy
[FoxNews] Vice President Kamala Harris has never been closer to becoming president of the United States. And if she succeeds in that endeavor in November, her administration would likely be the most socialist and destructive in our country’s history.

The Biden-Harris administration has been nothing short of a complete disaster. Under the leadership of President Joe Biden and Harris, Americans have experienced soaring levels of government debt and inflation. Housing has never been more expensive. Families are becoming increasingly more dependent on government to survive. Europe and the Middle East are now embroiled in deadly conflicts after four years of stability under former President Donald Trump.

As bad as things have been with Biden as president, however, putting Harris in charge would make life substantially worse. Biden has been one of America’s most progressive presidents, but Harris’s past policy positions are even further to the left of those backed by Biden. '

In fact, if Harris were to become president, it’s fair to say that she would be the first democratic socialist candidate to fill the position in the 248-year history of the United States.

I have listed below two of the most socialist legislative proposals backed by Harris. Together, they feature more than 10 different radical policies. If they were enacted, they would crush the U.S. economy and reduce individual liberty in unprecedented ways.

1. The Green New Deal
2. "Medicare-for-all"
Details about them can be seen at the link.

MQ-9 Reaper drones twice came dangerously close to Russian Aerospace Forces Su-24 in Syria
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Two American MQ-9 Reaper drones came dangerously close to Su-24 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the skies over Syria. This was reported on July 28 by the deputy head of the Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides (CRPS) in the SAR, Oleg Ignasyuk.

“Two incidents were recorded involving dangerous approaches between MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles of the ‘coalition’ and Su-24 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which were carrying out a planned flight in the airspace of Syria,” he said during a briefing on July 28.

Ignasyuk clarified that the incidents in question occurred in the area of the settlement of Es-Sukhna in the province of Homs on July 27 from 08:57 to 09:00 and from 09:50 to 09:54 Moscow time (coincides with local time) at an altitude of 6,500 meters.

It is noted that the collision was avoided thanks to the actions of Russian pilots, who demonstrated high professionalism and took the necessary measures in a timely manner.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, it was previously reported that the Russian Forpost-R unmanned aerial vehicle, in response to the ongoing attempts by radical groups to attack targets in the territory controlled by the Syrian government using UAVs and multiple launch rocket systems, struck a militant base in Idlib province. Over the course of 24 hours on July 22, terrorist groups recorded five attacks on positions of Syrian government troops in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib.

25 ‘international’ drug-trafficking networks dismantled in Iraq in 2024: Official
28. July, 2024
[Rudaw] Iraqi authorities have disbanded 25 so-called "international" drug-trafficking networks since the start of the year, said an official from the interior ministry on Saturday.

"In cooperation with neighboring countries, 25 international drug-trafficking networks have been dismantled in 2024," Ziyad Khalaf, an official of the ministry’s drug affairs directorate, told Iraqi state media, adding that extraditions and exchange of information have taken place between the countries.

Iraqi courts have also issued 74 death sentence

s for suspected drug pushers since the start of the year, according to Khalaf.

"The number of setences issued during the current year is very high due to the arrest operations... The last three years only witnessed 54 sentences issued," he added.

There has been an alarming rise in drug dealing and use in Iraq in recent years, despite strict measures taken by the government to curb the phenomenon.

Miqdad Miri, spokesperson for the interior ministry, announced earlier this month that nearly 2 tons of narcotic substances have been seized across the country since January.

In 2023, more than 19,000 people were arrested across Iraq on drug-related charges and over 15 tons of psychotropic substances were seized.
Two tons for the first half of this year versus 15 tons for all of last year — is the narcotics business down substantially over there or are the Iraqi authorities catching considerably less of it?

Rada deputy Goncharenko demands the resignation of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrsky
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksiy Goncharenko demanded that Oleksandr Syrsky be removed from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and that the former commander of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Sodol be brought to criminal responsibility.

"We need new faces. A new army. If we don't change, we'll die. Syrsky must go, Sodol must be behind bars," Goncharenko wrote on his Telegram channel.

He published this statement in response to a public appeal by soldiers of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding the resignation of their commander Emil Ishkulov. Goncharenko also stated that the former commander of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Sodol should be brought to criminal responsibility, adding that the leader of the Kiev regime Volodymyr Zelensky is also to blame for the army's problems.

As reported by Regnum news agency, Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Servant of the People faction Maryana Bezugla stated that the replacement of former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny with Oleksandr Syrsky has not changed anything, the military leadership continues to lead the troops to defeat. According to her, a "general faction" has formed around Syrsky, which deprives the Kiev regime of "a chance for change and victory."

On February 8, the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, appointed Syrsky as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine instead of Zaluzhny.

Earlier, Ukrainian media wrote that the military failures of the Ukrainian army were the result of strategic miscalculations by the authorities. Ukrainian journalist and former adviser to the head of the country's Ministry of Defense Yuriy Butusov stated that the responsibility for the strategic mistakes that allowed the Russian military to liberate several settlements in a short time lies with the country's leadership.

Russian Su-35S shot down Ukrainian MiG-29 at a distance of 213 km, setting a record
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Russian Su-35S fighter jet set a world record by shooting down a MiG-29 belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at a distance of 213 km. This was reported by the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper.

The publication states that the first hints of a sensation were discovered on the evening of July 28. On that day, Russian fighters announced that the launch of the R-37M long-range missile was successful, while at that moment Ukrainian air traffic controllers lost the MiG-29 fighter's radar signature.

"Confirmed. The pilot's application, plus objective control, plus confirmation from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The MiG-29 was shot down at a range of 213 km. No one in the world can repeat this," the publication notes, citing a publication in the Voevoda Broadcasts Telegram channel.

Journalists noted that the R-37M is currently the longest-range air-to-air missile in the world. Its stated range is 300 kilometers. The missile is used by Russian MiG-31, Su-30SM, and Su-35S fighters.

As reported by Regnum news agency, on July 19, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, stated that the Russian Armed Forces (RF) had shot down three MiG-29 fighters belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in one week.

On July 4, with the help of the Iskander operational-tactical missile system, Russian Armed Forces fighters were able to destroy a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter with one strike.

Earlier, the air defense forces of the Russian Armed Forces were able to deprive the Ukrainian Armed Forces of two MiG-29 fighters in one day.

Two pro-Iran fighters killed by ISIS in Deir ez-Zor countryside: Monitor
[Rudaw] At least two members of an Iran-backed militia were killed and three others were maimed in festivities with alleged Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) fighters in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, a war monitor reported on Monday.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that the pro-Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
snuffies were targeted by a group of person or persons unknown, presumed to be ISIS members, while returning from a military base in al-Bukamal countryside’s Salihiya desert.

The maimed have been hospitalized and are receiving treatment, the monitor added. All five bully boyz are Syrian nationals.

ISIS has increased its attacks in Syria in recent months, particularly in the vast expanses of desert where the group launches surprise attacks amid a security vacuum.

In May, five pro-Iran fighters were killed by an improvised bomb (IED), blamed on ISIS.

Around 400 Syrian army soldiers and affiliated militia members have been killed in ISIS operations in the Syrian desert since the start of the year, including at least 35 pro-Iran fighters, according to SOHR.

Britain
Two children killed in London knife attack, UK police say
[IsraelTimes] Two children were stabbed to death at a Taylor Swift-themed event in northwest England, and a 17-year-old male suspect was arrested, police said on Monday.

He was held on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Nine other children were maimed, six of them critically, and two adults were at death's door.

"We believe that the adults who were injured were bravely trying to protect the children," said Chief Constable Serena Kennedy from Merseyside Police.
It’s apparently the county that contains Liverpool.
She said emergency services arriving at the scene found “multiple people, many of whom were children, had been subjected to a ferocious attack and had suffered serious injuries.”

An advertisement posted online described the event as a yoga and dance workshop for children aged between 6 and 11.

Merseyside Police said the motive for the attack was unclear, but it was not believed to be terrorism-related and they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbings.
An un-institutionalized nutter running amok?
Police said armed police arrested the suspect and seized a knife after being called around 11:50 a.m. (1050 GMT) to an address in Southport, north of Liverpool.

… it is now open season on children. Did Western leaders think their children would be spared? What did think would happen when they imported millions of jihadis?

https://gellerreport.com/2024/07/muslim-migrant-arrested-in-mass-slaughter-of-children-at-taylor-swift-dance-class.html/

The Geller link adds:
A 17-year-old Ali Al-Shakati from Banks has been arrested in connection with the Southport stabbings and is currently in police custody.

The suspect in the Southport stabbings, Ali-Al-Shakati, was on the MI6 watch list and known to Liverpool mental health services. He was an asylum seeker who arrived in the UK by boat last year.
Betcha guessed that was coming, didn't you?
None of the news sources I checked had that information, for some reason. Good find, Fred — now I can move it from Non-WoT to Page 1: WoT.

#5  Some confusion, indeed. Skidmark’s Fox News link reports qbout the knifeman:

…both the AP and the Sun report that the suspect was born in Cardiff, Wales.

The Sun reported that the parents of the suspected attacker, born in 2006, moved to the United Kingdom from Rwanda.

A neighbor of the family described them to the Sun as Christians, "very normal," and having a "hard-working father and stay-at-home mother."

About the riot:

The English town of Southport was the scene of clashes between protesters and police the day after the death of at least three girls in a mass stabbing inflicted by an unnamed 17-year-old male.

The victims, Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 9, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Bebe King, 6, were attending a Taylor Swift-themed dance class at the time of the attack.

North West Ambulance Services reported via X that 22 police officers have been treated, and at least 11 have been taken to the hospital in the wake of the Southport riots. At least one police van has been set ablaze by the crowds. A source describes the town as "quiet."

It is unclear what punishments protesters may face. Police vans and garbage bins have been set ablaze in the melee.

Interesting times, government-inflicted.

Iraq
Suspected Turkish bombardment on Sulaimani village sparks fire
27. July, 2024
[Rudaw] A large fire has been burning in eastern Sulaimani province’s Mawat district since Friday evening, allegedly due to Ottoman Turkish bombardment of the area. There are no reports of casualties.

Kamaran Hassan, Mawat’s mayor, told Rudaw on Saturday that warplanes targeted Galala village in the district at around 11:00 pm Friday, setting fire to a large area of fields and pastures.

In the hot and dry summer, fires are easily sparked and can spread quickly.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
intensified its military operations in the Kurdistan Region in mid-June, under the pretext of targeting the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

In addition to Mawat, suspected Ottoman Turkish warplanes also struck Erbil’s Choman and Sidakan districts on Friday evening, Kamaran Osman, a member of the US-based Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT) - Iraqi Kurdistan team, told Rudaw.

Rojnews, a PKK-affiliated media outlet, reported that Ottoman Turkish strikes also targeted Aghjalar subdistrict, west of Sulaimani, on Saturday.

Hundreds of Ottoman Turkish troops and military vehicles have been deployed into the Kurdistan Region since June, establishing checkpoints and conducting patrols in northern Duhok’s Barwari Bala area. The military campaign has sparked renewed fears among villagers.

At least nine people have been killed in Ottoman Turkish attacks on the Kurdistan Region since the start of the year, according to Osman.

Mawat is a frequent target of suspected Ottoman Turkish strikes. At least one person was killed in an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
on a house in Galala in April.

In August 2023, two suspected PKK members were killed in separate Ottoman Turkish dronezaps on the same day, one on Sulaimani’s Dukan-Khalakan road and the other on Mawat.

Ankara has accused Sulaimani’s administration of having close ties with the PKK. A flight ban on Sulaimani International Airport by Turkey has been in place since April 2023. The Ottoman Turkish foreign ministry has said that the ban is related to an "intensification" of PKK activity in the province.

Biblical plague of dragonflies swarms Rhode Island beach in eerie horror movie scenes
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A massive swarm of dragonflies descended on a Rhode Island beach forcing terrified beachgoers to take cover as their day in the sun became something reminiscent of biblical plague.

Beachgoers were heard screaming as a cloud of insects swarmed Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly on Saturday afternoon.

Video shows how a swarm of dragonflies buzzed across the beach and past the dozens of scared visitors, whipping over towels, through umbrellas and past beachgoers' bodies.

Children were heard screaming as they swatted away at the bugs with shovels and sand toes. Some sunbathers packed up their things and left, while others hunkered down and took shelter in their car.

Witnesses recalled how other visitors seemingly embraced the chaotic 'invasion'. They stood and watched as the bugs flew past, with some even 'trying to catch them'.

Dombrowski, who claims the massive swarm only lasted about five minutes, added: 'I thought it was beautiful. I was very lucky to experience it.'

Dragonfly swarms tend to occur in the summer months when the insects are breeding or after the smaller insects they feed on are kicked into the air by human or weather disturbances, WBUR reported.

Individual swarms can include billions of dragonflies and have, in some instances, been so large that they are detected by radar systems.

Dragonflies feed on mosquitos and various flies, but can also prey on small mammals like hummingbirds.
Not likely
Although a massive swarm can appear scary, experts say dragonflies pose no threat to humans.

US National Debt Exceeds $35 Trillion for First Time in History
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The US national debt has exceeded $35 trillion for the first time in history. The relevant data was published on July 29 by the country's Treasury Department.

The US national debt exceeded the $34 trillion mark in January.

According to the forecast of the US Congressional Budget Office, the country's national debt in 2034 will exceed $50 trillion, which will amount to more than 122% of the country's GDP.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 8, the head of the US Federal Reserve System, Jerome Powell, said that the country's national debt had reached a critical point of $35 trillion, which makes it virtually impossible to continue borrowing. The US authorities need to take some action, he said.

Associate Professor of the Faculty of Finance and Banking at RANEPA Yuri Tverdokhleb told Regnum on July 1 that the world has reached a stalemate with the US national debt. The expert specified that the rule of US President Joe Biden has led to the national debt reaching an unprecedented level and continues to grow against the backdrop of a recession and deterioration of all other macroeconomic indicators.

During a meeting of the heads of central banks and finance ministries of the G20 countries in Brazil, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Finance Ivan Chebeskov spoke about the worsening situation with the growing public debt in the world, as well as the need to avoid the approaching systemic debt crisis. Of particular concern is the lack of attention from the state to the very high and continuing to increase level of debt in developed countries, Chebeskov emphasized.

Military Official: US Tests Hypersonic Weapon
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The United States of America conducted a test launch of a hypersonic weapon, a military official told reporters.

"The U.S. Army and Navy recently tested a conventional hypersonic system on the space station at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida," he said.

The official said the test was an important step in developing operational hypersonic technology. The test provided the United States with important data for the country's further progress in hypersonic weapons, he added.

As reported by Regnum, according to Bloomberg, the US military is unlikely to receive the first batch of eight new hypersonic missiles before 2025. After unsuccessful tests in the past, the US, according to assurances from the US military, is "on track to implement the necessary corrective actions." If a problem is discovered during flight tests, the delivery of missiles and the commissioning of the first operational system may be further delayed. Hypersonic weapons are not yet in service with the US.

At the same time, Russia, a leader in the development of hypersonic weapons, has created many models of such missiles in recent years, including the air-based Kinzhal and the sea-based Zircon.

In his address to the Federal Assembly in 2018, President Vladimir Putin announced for the first time that Russia had created the Avangard hypersonic gliding cruise missile and other new weapons.

In 2021, the first regiment of "Avangards" took up combat duty.

[FoxNews] The report states that the influx of migrants warrants an urgent need to expand access to 'English for Speakers of other Languages' services.

The report, released by MassInc and UMass Donahue on Wednesday, found that an estimated 480,000 residents have limited English proficiency (LEP). This makes up approximately 10% of the state’s workforce. The data could be an undercount, considering that it stems from 2022 Census estimates.

The report urges state officials to accommodate the growing number of immigrants that could "contribute at their full potential to the commonwealth’s social and economic vitality." Furthermore, the report states that if state officials were to boost LEP skills by one level of proficiency, it could generate $3 billion in additional annual earnings to local economies.

Therefore, due to the influx of migrants, it warrants an urgent need to expand access to "English for Speakers of other Languages" (ESOL) services.

Per the report, "Nearly two decades later, additional investment to increase access to ESOL is more critical than ever. For, while Massachusetts has developed many creative models to deliver these services, state and federal ESOL spending has not kept pace with the growth of our foreign-born population."

The report comes after Gov. Maura Healey announced on Tuesday new restrictions that Massachusetts families must be prioritized for services.

The restrictions come amid a growing influx of migrants that is burdening the state’s homeless shelter system.

Arabia
Israeli strike on Yemeni port caused $20 million in damage, official says
[IsraelTimes] Hodeida port official says operations resumed just days after Israeli fighter jets dealt a heavy blow in retaliation for Houthi rebels killing man in Tel Aviv drone strike

An Israeli strike on Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
’s Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen.
-controlled Hodeida port has caused at least $20 million in damage, adding to losses due to the destruction of fuel storage facilities, a port official said on Monday.

The July 20 attack on Hodeida, the main harbor under the control of the Iran-backed Houthi rebels, destroyed most of the port’s oil storage capacity and triggered a massive inferno that burned for days.

Israel struck the port in western Yemen after a drone launched by the Houthis on July 19 struck Tel Aviv and killed an Israeli man.

The rebel group said nine people were killed in the retaliatory strike — the first attack ever claimed by Israel on Yemen.

The strike, carried out by dozens of Israeli aircraft, targeted fuel reports and the port’s energy infrastructure, as well as four large container cranes. Israel said the port in general, and the cranes specifically, were used to import Iranian weapons.

Speaking to AFP on Sunday from the harbor after operations resumed last week, port official Nasr al-Nusairi relayed the results of a preliminary damage assessment, saying two of the cranes were destroyed, a small vessel was burnt and a number of buildings were torched.

"There is also damage to the docks," said Nusairi, the vice president of the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, which runs the Hodeida harbor.

Nusairi estimated the cost of port damage to "exceed $20 million," noting, however, that the sum does not factor in losses incurred by the destruction of fuel storage facilities which "is the responsibility of the oil ministry."

The Israel Defense Forces said last week that it estimated the strike to have been a major blow to the Houthi economy. Taking the cranes out of service would also prevent the group from bringing in more Iranian weapons via the port, it said.

The port damage caused a temporary interruption of activities but operations resumed quickly, Nusairi said.

The first two container ships docked in Hodeida three days after the Israeli strike, according to Houthi officials.

The port appeared to be operational on Sunday, with container ships anchored on its docks and workers unloading containers using cranes, according to an AFP photographer who toured the area.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
We will fight until the last gender-neutral person.

[ColonelCassad] Sweden is going to fight to the last gender-neutral person.

Following Sweden's accession to NATO, the Swedish Armed Forces have updated their motto and now promise to fight for LGBT* values, the US and NATO to the last gender-neutral man.

The Swedish Armed Forces have published a new advertisement in the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, in which the military emphasizes its role in promoting LGBT* values and loyalty to the US and NATO.

If the Swedish military's motto used to be "We will fight to the last man," it has now been changed to "We will fight to the last gender-neutral man."

That is, they replaced the word "man" with something in between "he" and "she," namely the word "hen."

Hen is a recently introduced Swedish gender-neutral personal pronoun used when the sex or gender identity is unknown or to refer to people who do not wish to be called he or she.

"We will fight to the end. "We are proud to defend Sweden, our allies and our right to identify ourselves as we wish," reads the large ad that graces the front page of Svenska Dagbladet today.

In recent years, Sweden has been devoting significant resources to an LGBT propaganda campaign among the military, alongside its traditional mission of defending the country, which was expanded this year to include defending not only Sweden itself, but also the interests of the United States and other NATO members.

Not everyone in Sweden was pleased with the military's updated motto. The Ministry of Defence responded immediately.

"The Armed Forces have long worked to promote diversity and inclusion. The new campaign is another step in showing how important it is to remind everyone of their equal value. We believe that diversity strengthens our defence and makes us better prepared to face future challenges," says Johan Landeström, Marketing Director of the Swedish Armed Forces.

But there is still one mystery that remains unanswered. The thing is that in "Vi kommer kämpa till siste hen" (We will fight until the last something) the adjective "siste" (last) must precede the masculine pronoun. It turns out that the Swedes will fight until the last gender-neutral male creature.

Once the homosexuals are gone, you can surrender.

A detailed analysis of what happened July 22-27 in Mali

[ColonelCassad] Official from Wagner on the battle in northern Mali near the border with Algeria.

A DETAILED ANALYSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED ON JULY 22-27 IN MALI
Seven days ago, fighters of the 13th Assault Detachment of the Wagner PMC, led by commander Sergei Shevchenko, call sign "Pond", together with servicemen of the Malian Armed Forces FAM, entered into an unequal battle with superior forces of Islamists from the Coordination Movement of Azawad (CMA) and al-Qaeda in the Sahel (JNIM) (banned in Russia), and for several days heroically fought the militants, not sparing their own lives. More details on how it happened.

BEGINNING OF THE OPERATION: RECONNAISSANCE AND SEARCH FOR RADICALS
On July 22, 2024, the allied forces of the Wagner PMC and the Malian army received information that large detachments of radicals from the CMA had appeared in the Tin-Zoutine area. The 13th Assault Detachment under the command of Sergei Shevchenko, call sign "Pond", was sent to search for and eliminate the militants.

Upon arrival, the fighters of the "Pruda group" and FAMa confirmed the intelligence information, having discovered a large concentration of CMA forces: detachments of militants, totaling about 100 people, as well as more than 10 pickups with large-caliber weapons. Based on this, the "Orchestra" command decided to attack the Islamists.

In the battle, the 13th Assault Detachment of the Wagner PMC destroyed up to 50 radicals and six units of equipment. The remnants of the militants were unable to resist the orchestra members and fled the battlefield.

COUNTERATTACK OF THE ISLAMISTS AND THE FORTITUDE OF THE "MUSICIANS"
From July 22 to 25, the "orchestra" fighters continued to search for radicals in the conditions of a sandstorm despite everything. Realizing that the Islamists would not stop there, the leadership of the Wagner PMC decided to transfer additional forces to the area. Taking advantage of the delay, the militants tried to counterattack using all available means. The attack on the "musicians" was coordinated by field commander Abda-Rahman Zaza, who led the JNIM units that arrived to help the Islamists.

Thanks to the skillful and competent actions of the 13th Assault Unit, the radicals were unable to carry out their plans. But in turn, the Wagner PMC fighters suffered their first losses: several stormtroopers were wounded in combat, including the commander of the "Prud" unit.

Despite the sandstorm, fierce resistance from the militants and ambushes on the escape routes, additional forces of the "musicians" continued to move to help their brothers. They fought their way through and hurried to help their comrades.

Meanwhile, the personnel of the "Prud group" and FAM took up all-round defense and steadfastly repelled the attacks of the superior forces of the CMA and JNIM: their number exceeded more than 1,000 people. The detachment's fighters continued to fight, and the radicals did not slow down the pace of the attack and tried to suppress the "musicians" with a huge number of fighters.

Despite the dust storm, the crews of the MI-8 and MI-24 helicopters of the Wagner PMC decided to move to help their comrades. One combat vehicle was shot down by oncoming fire from militants, but the crew of the second helicopter, despite the death of the commander and the injuries sustained by the co-pilot and flight engineer, completed the mission and returned to base, making an emergency landing.

THE LAST DAYS OF THE BATTLE
Understanding the complexity of the situation and the likelihood of complete encirclement, the commander of the orchestra, Sergei Shevchenko, call sign "Prud", decided to move in the direction of the moving reserves on the night of July 26-27. By this time, he had already been wounded twice and was in serious condition, but he led the detachment under intensified attacks by the Islamists.

Closer to four o'clock on July 27, the detachment reported losses among the "Orchestra" fighters and FAMa soldiers. In addition, the commander of the 13th Assault Squad, Sergei Shevchenko, call sign "Prud", who continued to stand to the end despite everything, also fell in battle

. At 17:10 on July 27, the last radiogram was received from our brothers: "There are three left, we continue to fight." It was sent by the commander of the assault platoon, call sign "Nike".

All the Wagner PMC fighters who died in battle will be awarded (posthumously).

What is Russia doing in Mali?
WHY RUSSIA NEEDS MALI
The latest activity and interest in Russian instructors from the Wagner PMC and the African Corps raises a reasonable question: "What are we forgetting in Mali?"

▪️The answer to this question is not a secret - resources that can be obtained not from Western companies, but from friendly regimes. The most important of them is lithium.

In addition, there are some oil and gas reserves in the Taoudenni basin, which, due to their high cost, were not extracted by anyone, and now they are under the control of the Islamist DNIM and the separatists of Azawad. I partially touched on this topic when FAMa staged ( https://t.me/departamente/3727 ) a raid in In-Afarak.

As far as I understand, the only reason why they did not move north is the interests of the Khalija monarchs, who are exploring oil and gas fields under the cover of reporters. Violating relations with them at the moment is not profitable.

Lithium is mainly used by Western companies, but given the trend towards anti-colonialist rhetoric, their positions are weakening and may well be taken by domestic companies. Its importance lies in its use in electronics, which is still a source of dependence.

But the best way to strengthen friendship is to help defeat all the rebels and Islamists in the region. This increases the population's trust and the leadership is more willing to make agreements. The main thing is to maintain image.

Unpleasant losses in the border zone, of course, will not stop the strategy of taking control of the border with Algeria, as well as all major settlements in northern Mali. The night events with the "Wagners" only showed that the enemy should not be underestimated and it can be expected that in future operations such threats of ambushes will be treated much more seriously; according to a number of channels, additional contingents from other countries have already been transferred to Mali.

Regarding the captured Wagners, negotiations are underway with the militants to exchange both the prisoners and the bodies of the dead fighters, so that they can be buried with dignity. The losses amounted to about a platoon of ours + an unspecified number of Malian army soldiers + several units of wheeled vehicles.

Rogozin calls for release of Wagner Group fighters from Basmachi captivity in Mali
The bodies of the dead Wagner Group fighters, as well as those captured during the clash with the Tuaregs, must be returned to Russia. This was stated on July 29 by Dmitry Rogozin, a member of the Federation Council from the Zaporizhia region.

“We must do everything possible to rescue our living guys from captivity at the hands of these Basmachi and to take back the bodies of the dead Wagner heroes,” the senator wrote on his Telegram channel.

Rogozin also called on all the dead fighters of the group to be buried with honor, and for the living to be returned to their homeland and accepted as heroes.

Wagner Group Confirms Fighters Killed in Fierce Clash with Tuaregs in Mali
The Wagner Group commented on the situation in Mali, where PMC fighters and the Malian armed forces were ambushed by Tuaregs. The statement was published in the Telegram channel "Wagner Unloading".

It is noted that from July 22 to 27, servicemen of the Malian Armed Forces and fighters of the 13th assault detachment of the PMC in the vicinity of the settlement of Tin-Zoutine "conducted fierce battles with militants from the Coordination Movement of Azawad (CMA) and the group Al-Qaeda in the Sahel (JNIM, a terrorist organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation)."

On the first day, the group destroyed most of the radicals and put the rest to flight, but a sandstorm set in, which allowed the terrorists to regroup and increase their numbers to a thousand people, the PMC specified.

They added that in connection with this, the command decided to transfer additional forces to the combat zone.

It was reported that Malian troops were carrying out massive strikes on a bastion of concentration of terrorists and smugglers. Five terrorist targets were successfully destroyed by drones of the Armed Forces of Mali, the General Staff noted.

Civilians living in the area where military operations are taking place were called upon to leave the territories where terrorists are located in order to avoid casualties.

The corresponding decree of the head of state was published on July 29 on the website of the official publication of legal acts.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, earlier in July Putin awarded the People's Artist, singer Anita Tsoi, with the medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the 1st degree. Tsoi received the medal for her great contribution to the effective solution of socially significant problems and many years of conscientious work. In 2001, she opened a charity foundation to help children with congenital disabilities.

US withdraws B-52 strategic bombers from base near Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The United States of America has withdrawn its B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers from the Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base in Romania near the border with Ukraine, the US Air Forces in Europe said in a statement.

"The bombers have completed the final deployment of the European Bomber Task Force," the statement said.

It is noted that American bombers carried out operations together with aircraft from the air forces of Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary and Romania.

U.S. Air Force aircraft have returned to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 21, Russian MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighters prevented a pair of US Air Force B-52H strategic bombers from violating the Russian Federation's state border.

The Russian Defense Ministry clarified that Russian airspace control systems over the Barents Sea detected a group of air targets approaching the Russian state border. In connection with this, MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighters from the air defense forces on duty were scrambled to identify the air target.

On June 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported an increase in the intensity of flights of American strategic drones over the Black Sea.

Military expert Glazunov: US could have moved B-52 bombers to Ukraine

The United States could have withdrawn B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers from the Romanian air base Mihail Kogalniceanu to send them to Ukraine. This was stated by military expert, associate professor of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Oleg Glazunov in an interview with Lenta.ru.

He also suggested that the US could reinforce Poland or the Baltics with bombers. According to him, the Americans are constantly rotating and can send their planes "even to the Middle East."

“If they moved it to Ukraine, then it’s also interesting where – they are probably preparing some kind of attack,” Glazunov said.

Russian intelligence and special services monitor such movements, and the analysis of the information should take place at the level of the General Staff, he added.

According to the analysts, more than 1,000 meters of trenches have been built in the area of the nuclear power plant's cooling pond. The militarization of the cooling pond area may be related to the restart of nuclear reactors at the plant, since all six reactors were shut down in 2022, the authors of the report point out.

16:23 The General Staff does not support the exemption from military service of former "limited fitness" up to 25 years, the department told Radio Liberty. They explained that some citizens used this status to evade military service in peacetime. Also, in the opinion of the General Staff, this will reduce the mobilization resource of the troops.

The UN and the ICRC, as guarantors of the agreements regarding the defenders of Azovstal, expressed their readiness to investigate the terrorist attack, but five months later, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres dissolved the mission due to the lack of security guarantees. In addition, the UN mission never agreed to familiarize itself with the Ukrainian materials on the explosion in the colony. Turkey detains 13 for alleged PKK support in viral videos
27. July, 2024
[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish counter-terrorism forces on Saturday detained 13 suspects for allegedly appearing in viral videos showing them playing songs, and dancing while chanting slogans in support of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Ottoman Turkish state media Anadolu Agency reported that security forces in Istanbul, launched into social media videos showing a woman playing "PKK anthems" in her car, and another video of young individuals chanting slogans in support of the imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan.

According to Anadolu, the Ottoman Turkish counterterrorism teams launched simultaneous operations at 24 locations across 7 districts, detaining 13 suspects and seizing "digital material."

This comes days after a similar incident in the southern Mersin province, where security forces arrested 10 people for chanting slogans in support of Ocalan.

On Friday, Ottoman Turkish police arrested six women in Siirt province for dancing in a video to a song that praises PKK fighters. The women were shown wearing traditional Kurdish clothes in the video.

The PKK is a Kurdish group that has waged an armed insurgency against the Ottoman Turkish state for decades in the struggle for greater Kurdish rights and is designated a terrorist organization by Ankara.

Clashes between Ottoman Turkish forces and the PKK fighters have intensified recently in the Kurdistan Region. This escalation in attacks is a part of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

said Ankara is close to completing a zone that will "permanently resolve" the security issues along their border with the Kurdistan Region and Iraq by summer.

Turkey has deployed a large number of troops in Duhok province since mid-June.

Erdogan said on Monday that Ankara would get Dire Revenge for one of their soldiers who was killed in Duhok, and all their losses in the region: "We are avenging all these losses. They are paying a very heavy price and will continue to do so."

But Ankara’s relentless military strikes and the deployment of ground troops also have stoked fear in the villagers of Duhok province’s mountainous areas who fear displacement from their villages as mortar shells and constant gunfire prompt panic.

Turkey has carried out more than 1,000 attacks on the Kurdistan Region and Nineveh province so far in 2024, according to conflict monitor Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT) data.

[GEO.TV] Iran's new President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday warned Israel against attacking Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
as tensions soar over a deadly rocket strike in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights blamed on Tehran-backed Hezbollah.

"The Zionist regime (Israel) will make a great mistake with heavy consequences if it attacks Lebanon," Pezeshkian said during a call with French President Emmanuel Macron, according to the Iranian president's website.

Pezeshkian assumed official responsibilities on Sunday after official endorsement from supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamanei, and is to be sworn in to parliament on Tuesday.

IDF: Jets, drones struck over 35 targets across Gaza in past 24 hours as troops advance in Khan Younis, Rafah
As of 9:00 a.m. local time on Monday.
[IsraelTimes] Israeli fighter jets and drones struck more than 35 targets across the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip over the past day, the military says.

The IDF says the targets include cells of button men, buildings used by terror groups, booby-trapped buildings, and other infrastructure.

The strikes come as troops continue to advance in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis and Rafah.

The IDF says troops with the 162nd Division killed several button men in close-quarters combat and by directing Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in Rafah in the previous 24 hours.

Many more terror operatives were killed in festivities and airstrikes amid operations by the 98th Division in Khan Younis, the IDF adds.

TLP vice emir 'arrested' for inciting violence against CJP Isa
[GEO.TV] Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) Vice Emir Pir Zaheerul Hasan Shah, who had gone in hiding in Okara, has been arrested after being booked for inciting violence against Chief Justice of Pakistain (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, sources told Geo News on Monday.

Shah's arrest comes after a case was lodged against him for a speech made during a protest rally outside the Lahore Press Club during a demonstration against the SC verdict in the Mubarak Sani case.

The case was lodged in Lahore's Qila Gujjar Sing cop shoppe on behalf of Station House Officer (SHO) Hammad Hussain against the TLP leader and 1,500 party workers for issuing death threats to the chief justice.

The FIR includes provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and those related to spreading religious hatred and anarchy, pressuring and threatening the higher judiciary, interference in state affairs, obstructing in performance of legal duties and others.

It is to be noted that apart from TLP, Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam
...a Pak religious party. It is usually part of the govt, never part of the solution...
-Sami (JUI-S), Mili Yakjehti Council Pakistain (MYC
...Milli Yakjehti Council: an alliance of Pak religious parties including the Jamaat-e-Islami and the JUI-F. Somehow this is considered to be a good way to promote sectarian and religious harmony in Pakistain despite their habit of sponsoring terrorist groups both at home and abroad...
) and Wafaqul Madaris-ul-Arabiya (WMA) have also voiced their opposition to the apex court's verdict in the said case.

The opposition comes despite the clarification issued by the apex court on Friday which said that the court's verdict clearly states that no one can be a Moslem without having faith in the finality of prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (PTUI!).

'STATE WON'T ALLOW FATWAS CALLING FOR MURDER'
Earlier in the day, the federal government announced that it won't allow malicious propaganda against the CJP and will take strict action against those responsible for it.

"The state will not allow anyone to issue a fatwa calling for someone's murder," Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said in a presser in Islamabad.

Flanked by Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal, the defence minister, while referring to the propaganda campaign hurled against the chief justice following the SC verdict in the Mubarak Sani case, said that an attempt is being made to use religion for bloodshed for vested political interests.

"There has been malicious propaganda about the chief justice and he has been targeted for a long time," said the federal minister.

He said that an attempt is being made to silence a voice which has set a tradition of speaking truth, reiterating that the law will take its course.

Asif further said that the state will now take action because CJP Isa has been targeted for a long time, adding that baseless accusations cannot be made against someone.

"There should be supremacy of Constitution in the country and justice should prevail. [The state] will not accept dictation aimed towards securing personal interests in the name of politics," he added.

US military to unveil new command in Tokyo aimed at combating China
More on this story from yesterday.
[FoxNews] The United States will announce a major revamp of its military structure in Asia, unveiling a new command in Tokyo as it deepens ties with Japan in response to China’s increased ambition in the region.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin are scheduled to hold talks with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa and Defense Minister Minoru Kihara on Sunday, according to a report from Reuters, where Austin will announce a shift of U.S. forces in Japan.

"Secretary Austin plans to announce that the United States intends to reconstitute U.S. Forces Japan as a Joint Force Headquarters, reporting to the commander of U.S. INDOPACOM," a U.S. official told Reuters.

Japan has been looking to establish a new joint headquarters in the country to better coordinate with U.S. forces as it sees growing threats in the region, the report notes, with Japan citing increased missile tests by North Korea and China’s growing military ambitions.

Japan had hoped the new command would be headed by a four-star general, but the U.S. official told Reuters that a three-star general will take control of the new organization.

Talks between the U.S. and Japan Sunday are expected to cover "extended deterrence," the U.S. official said, the term the U.S. uses to describe how it deploys nuclear forces to deter attacks on its allies.
Starts with Strategic Bombers.
Japan already hosts a U.S. military base with 54,000 American troops, hundreds of aircraft, and a forward-deployed carrier strike group, the report notes, but the new command will allow for greater cooperation between the two countries. Japan recently committed to double defense spending from 1% of GDP to 2% as it seeks greater deterrence over China and North Korea.

The move also comes as President Biden has looked to increase cooperation between Japan and South Korea, another key U.S. ally in the region. Relations between the two countries have been strained since the early 20th century.
Add Taiwan.
The three nations on Sunday signed an agreement to "institutionalize" trilateral cooperation, according to the report, which will include sharing of real-time North Korean missile information and increased joint-military exercises.

"This memorandum, strengthens the cooperation between Japan, the United States and South Korea, making our partnership unshakable no matter how the international situation changes," Kihara told reporters after the agreement was signed.

The White House did not immediately respond to a Fox News Digital request for comment. The Pentagon declined to comment.

Five terrorists killed in three separate operations in KP
[GEO.TV] Security forces have killed five holy warriors in three separate operations in different areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

A joint intelligence-based operation was conducted in Mohmand district and three terrorists, including "Kharji alias Qari of Fitna Al Khawarij," were successfully neutralised, said the military's media wing in a statement.

It further said that during the conduct of the operation, terrorists’ hideout was also busted and a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was recovered. However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
police constable Abrar Hussain (resident of district Swabi) of the KP police, having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat during the intense exchange of gunfire, it said.

In another intelligence-based operation conducted in the Dera Ismail Khan
... the Pearl of Pashtunistan ...
district, security forces effectively engaged terrorists’ location, as a result of which "Kharji Sifatullah Mullah Mansoor of Fitna Al Khawarij was sent to hell," while three other holy warriors got injured, said the ISPR statement.

The army's media wing said that Kharji Sifatullah was involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area including the facilitation of a suicide kaboom attack in Daraban on December 12, 2023, and was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies.

In a third engagement that occurred in the North Wazoo district, "another Kharji terrorist of Fitna Al Khawarij was sent to hell" by the security forces, according to the statement.

"Pakistain’s security forces stand shoulder to shoulder with other law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and stability across Pakistain and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve," it added.

CENTCOM says 44 ISIS killed in Iraq, Syria in first half of 2024
17. July 2024
[Rudaw] The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) on Tuesday said that its partnered operations with local forces in Iraq and Syria resulted in at least 44 suspected Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) members killed and 166 others detained during the first six months of 2024.

At least 30 ISIS operatives were killed and 74 others were captured in 137 operations conducted in Iraq alongside local security forces in the first half of the year, according to the CENTCOM statement. In 59 joint operations with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) during that same period, a total of 14 ISIS operatives were killed and 92 were detained.

The operations in both countries led to the killing of eight big shots of the group and the arrest of 32 others.

"These leaders include those responsible for planning of operations outside of Syria and Iraq, recruiting, training, and weapons smuggling. The removal of these individuals from their leadership positions further degrades ISIS capabilities to conduct external operations in the U.S. and allied nations," read the CENTCOM statement.

Baghdad has downgraded the threat that ISIS poses, saying that the group has been confined. The Iraqi government, under pressure from Iran-backed gangs to expel US forces from the country, has begun talks with Washington to wind down the coalition mission.

The US-led coalition advises and provides aerial assistance to Kurdish Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army, as well as the SDF in the fight against ISIS.

Iran says it has seized a tanker carrying counterfeit oil in the Persian Gulf
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] On July 26, the Pearl G tanker flying the flag of the African country of Togo was detained in the Persian Gulf with 700 thousand liters of contraband oil, the Tasnim agency reported on July 29, citing a statement by the military from the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

"The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps detained the Pearl G tanker, flying the flag of the African country of Togo, on Friday morning in the northern part of the Persian Gulf near the Arash oil field, belonging to an Iraqi who lives in the city of Dubai (United Arab Emirates)," the statement said.

It is specified that at that time the tanker was being loaded with contraband fuel from an Iranian vessel. According to initial estimates, there were at least 700 thousand liters of oil on board.

According to the Iranian agency, the tanker, along with nine crew members who are Indian citizens, was sent to Imam Khomeini Port, located in southwestern Iran in Khuzestan province.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 22, the Iranian military intercepted a tanker of a UAE company in the Persian Gulf. According to information from the British company Ambrey, which specializes in maritime security, the detained vessel was a tanker sailing under the flag of Togo, which was carrying 1.5 thousand tons of marine fuel (gas oil).

In January, Iranian media reported that the Iranian navy had seized a US oil tanker chartered by the Turkish company Tupras in the Gulf of Oman following a court order.
The Times of Israel adds:
Fuel prices in Iran are among the lowest globally, increasing the profitability of smuggling operations.
