Report: Hamas flatly rejected a new US draft for a hostage-ceasefire deal; Israel expressed reservations
[IsraelTimes] Determinedly seeking a hostage-ceasefire deal, Biden Administration officials in the past few days sent the draft text of a new proposal to Israel and, via Qatar

Hamas, however, flatly rejected the draft text, and said it would not accept any deal that differs from the proposal presented by US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
at the end of May.

Biden’s presentation was, in fact, based on an Israeli proposal, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly claimed that, in its response to that proposal, Hamas sought to make 29 changes. For his part, Netanyahu has in recent months repeatedly invoked a series of nonnegotiable conditions for a deal that are not specified in the May proposal.

Channel 12’s report suggests that Hamas’s firmly negative response to the latest US ideas may have something to do with White House National Security front man John Kirby’s comments earlier Sunday blaming Hamas for the stalling of talks on a deal.

A noncommissioned officer shot the assailant, the military adds.

No soldiers were hurt in the incident.

US deploying more troops to region as Israel-Hezbollah conflict ramps up
[IsraelTimes] Biden says he’s trying to deescalate tensions; Pentagon official warns Mideast in ‘dangerous situation’ but widened conflict not a given, as USS Truman heads back to Mediterranean

The US is sending a small number of additional troops to the Middle East in response to a sharp spike in violence between Israel and Lebanese terror group Hezbollah that has raised the risk of a greater regional war, the Pentagon said Monday.

Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder would provide no details on how many additional forces or what they would be tasked to do. The US currently has about 40,000 troops in the region.

"In light of increased tension in the Middle East and out of an abundance of caution, we are sending a small number of additional US military personnel forward to augment our forces that are already in the region. But for operational security reasons, I’m not going to comment on or provide specifics," Pentagon front man Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder told news hounds.

On Monday, the aircraft carrier USS Truman, two destroyers, and a cruiser set sail from Norfolk, Virginia, headed to the Mediterranean on a regularly scheduled deployment, opening the possibility that the US could keep both the Truman and the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which is in the Gulf of Oman, nearby in case further violence breaks out.

The announcement came after cross-border violence intensified Monday, with Israel carrying out strikes on some 1,300 targets across Leb

Hezbollah, a Lebanon-based Iranian proxy with a powerful armed wing, has fired hundreds of rockets at Israel in recent days, including deep into the country, raising the specter of all-out war that could leave Lebanon in ruins and devastate parts of Israel.

would feature prominently in his discussions with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Before their meeting, Biden said he had been briefed on latest developments between Israel and Lebanon, adding, "I continue to be in contact with our counterparts and we’re working to deescalate in a way that allows people to return home safely."

Sheikh Mohammed said his country had an "unwavering commitment" to working with the United States and deepening the strategic partnership between the allies.

General Assembly high-level summit this week.

"Given the tensions, given the escalation, as I highlighted, there is the potential for a wider regional conflict. I don’t think we’re there yet, but it’s a dangerous situation," Ryder said.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held back-to-back calls with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over the weekend as he pressed for a ceasefire and a reduction of tensions in the region, Ryder said. The Biden administration has repeatedly called for the Israel-Hezbollah border crisis to be resolved through diplomacy.

The front man declined to say if the additional forces being deployed might support the evacuation of US citizens, after the State Department warned Americans Saturday to leave Lebanon due to the mounting conflict.

The US presence in the Middle East is designed both to help defend Israel and protect US and allied personnel and assets. Navy warships are scattered across the region, from the eastern Mediterranean Sea to the Gulf of Oman, and both Air Force and Navy fighter jets are strategically based at several locations to be better prepared to respond to any attacks.

"So all of those forces combined provide us with the options to be able to protect our forces should they be attacked," he said.

As of 9/24 at 2:20 a.m. Israel Time: Israel hits 1,600 targets in strikes on Hezbollah as panicked Lebanese flee; at least 492 killed, 1,645 maimed
Photos and videos at the link.
[IsraelTimes] IDF says it targeted many homes where Hezbollah keeps missiles in deadliest barrages since 2006 war, urges civilians to get away; Hezbollah fires 200 rockets deep into Israel

Widespread Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon killed at least 492 people Monday and injured over 1,645 more, Beirut said, as Israel cautioned that strikes against the group would expand and Lebanese civilians were warned to flee areas where the Iran-backed terror group was thought to be hiding weapons.

The IDF said the air force was targeting homes where “rockets, drones and missiles” were emplaced by Hezbollah, and repeatedly urged civilians in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley to flee from homes where such weapons were stored. It said many of the dead were Hezbollah members.

Israelis also took shelter as Hezbollah bombarded Israel with over 200 rockets on Monday alone, setting off sirens in northern Israel, near the bay metropolis of Haifa and as far south as some West Bank settlements near Tel Aviv, causing some damage but no major casualties. The barrages, which marked some of the heaviest since fighting broke out on October 8 last year, served to up the ante after the terror group bombarded northern communities with at least 150 rockets a day earlier.

In Lebanon, videos shared on social media appeared to show masses fleeing major cities, and authorities began opening schools to shelter thousands of newly displaced.

The Israel Defense Forces said it struck some 1,600 targets across Lebanon on Monday, including many homes it said housed weapons directly threatening the country, in the deadliest barrages of airstrikes since the 2006 war against Hezbollah, ratcheting up fears of a fresh outbreak of all-out conflict on the restive border.

Speaking from an underground command room at military headquarters in Tel Aviv, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was changing the balance of power with Hezbollah, signaling Israel would no longer play defense after months of cross-border violence.

Tens of thousands of Israelis have been displaced from their homes in northern Israel since last October by relentless Hezbollah rocket fire, and Israel’s cabinet last week designated the secure return of those residents to their homes as an official aim of the current conflict.

At least 492 people were killed in the strikes and another 1,645 were wounded, Lebanon’s health ministry said, marking the deadliest day in Lebanon since Hezbollah began firing at Israel last year, drawing Israeli counterstrikes.

The dead and wounded included women and children, the ministry said. There was no immediate comment from Hezbollah on casualties within the terror group, which has suffered heavy losses in recent days.

On social media, videos showed long lines of traffic as civilians tried to reach safety, and streams of vehicles flowing out of small mountainside towns. In one video, cars could be seen queued up on a highway lined with Hezbollah and Lebanese flags as black smoke from recent airstrikes billowed in the background. In the seaside city of Sidon, all eight lanes of Rafic Hariri Boulevard were filled with cars pointed north as they sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic. In Nabatieh, a video showed a number of people in cars trying to leave town being blocked as a massive explosion erupted in front of them.

In a press conference, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari noted that some videos of strikes depicted secondary explosions, pointing to these as evidence of Hezbollah weapons stores.

“The sights that are now seen in southern Lebanon are Hezbollah’s weapons exploding inside houses. Every home we struck, there are rockets, drones, missiles, which were intended to kill Israeli civilians,” Hagari said, urging civilians in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley to flee from homes where Hezbollah has been storing weapons.

Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman, had given civilians two hours to leave Beqaa.

Netanyahu, who met with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Air Force commander Tomer Bar, said Israel’s strikes were aimed at eliminating senior Hezbollah officials, terrorists, and missile caches.

Lebanon’s Information Minister Ziad Makary told his countrymen to ignore the warnings, noting that his office in Beirut had received a recorded message telling people to leave the building.

“This comes in the framework of the psychological war implemented by the enemy,” Makary said, urging people “not to give the matter more attention than it deserves.”

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency also reported airstrikes on different areas, including some far from the border.

The agency said strikes hit a forested area in the central province of Byblos, about 130 kilometers (81 miles) north of the Israeli-Lebanese border, for the first time since Hezbollah began firing at Israel in October. No injuries were reported there. Israel also bombed targets in the northeastern Baalbek and Hermel regions, where a shepherd was killed and two family members were wounded, according to the news agency. It said a total of 30 people were wounded in strikes.

In Israel, sirens sounded in dozens of communities, as Hezbollah targeted the strategic industrial center of Haifa and towns across the north for a second day in a row with over 100 rockets in quick succession, according to the IDF. Sirens also sounded in West Bank settlements northeast of Tel Aviv during a volley of at least 10 rockets, the army said, seemingly marking a rare use of long-range rockets by Hezbollah.

There were no immediate reports of injuries, but some rockets were reported to have caused damage.

Some 80,000 Lebanese were thought to have already fled southern Lebanon over the last 12 months, which have seen near-daily cross-border Hezbollah rocket attacks and Israeli airstrikes. Another 60,000 people in northern Israel have been forced to evacuate their homes.

Israel has long accused Hezbollah of transforming entire communities in southern Lebanon into terror bases, with hidden rocket launchers and other infrastructure.

Monday morning saw Hagari show previously unreleased footage of Hezbollah operatives preparing to launch a cruise missile from within a civilian home in a southern Lebanon village. The building was targeted in an airstrike. The cruise missile was identified by the IDF as a Russian-made “DR-3,” which appeared to be a variant of the Tupolev Tu-143 drone, also called VR-3. The IDF said the missile was packed with some 300 kilograms of explosives and had a range of up to 200 kilometers.

An Israeli military official said Israel is focused on aerial operations and has no immediate plans for a ground operation. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity in keeping with regulations, said the strikes are aimed at curbing Hezbollah’s ability to launch more strikes into Israel.
It’s going to take a few days to blow up the claimed 200,000 rockets and missiles Hezbollah has stashed, along with the rest of the weapons cached against expanding the “resistance” into Israel.
The terror group has named 506 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon but some also in Syria. Another 79 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have also been killed.

Monday’s strikes on Hezbollah largely targeting cruise missiles, mid-range rockets — IDF
[IsraelTimes] IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says the Israeli Air Force has struck some 1,300 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon today, and is continuing to strike at this hour.

In a press conference, Hagari says the targets were largely weapons stored in homes, including “cruise missiles that can reach hundreds of kilometers, heavy rockets with a 1,000-kilogram warhead, medium-range rockets that reach a range of up to 200 kilometers, short-range rockets, and armed unmanned aerial vehicles.”

Regarding the high death toll reported in Lebanon, Hagari says “These numbers also refer to many terrorists we killed today who were near the weapons.” He says the IDF will provide its own figures at a later time.

IDF chief says Israel dismantling capabilities Hezbollah built up for 20 years
[IsraelTimes] IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi says the military is dismantling Hezbollah capabilities that it built up for 20 years.
Good.
“The IDF this morning launched a proactive offensive operation. We are taking [away] military infrastructure that Hezbollah built for 20 years. This is very significant,” Halevi says in a video distributed by the IDF, from an assessment at the military’s underground command room.

“We are striking targets, preparing the next stages… in the end, everything needs to be aimed at creating the conditions to return the [displaced] residents of the north to their homes,” he adds.

Hezbollah missile commander Ibrahim Kobeisi killed in Israeli airstrike
[NYPOST] The Hezbollah commander overseeing the terrorists' missile unit is the latest top official slain by an Israeli airstrike as the Jewish state continues to decimate the Iran-backed terror group's leadership.

Ibrahim Kobeisi, who is accused of coordinating the missile strikes targeting northern Israel, was identified among the six people killed following an airstrike in Beirut's southern suburbs on Tuesday, IDF and Lebanese officials said.

The IDF said there were other ''key commanders'' at the apartment complex where Kobeisi was hit, with Lebanon's ministry of health confirming that at least 15 others were injured in the blast.

[gCaptain via Insty] gCaptain has received multiple reports that the US Navy oiler USNS Big Horn ran aground yesterday and partially flooded off the coast of Oman, leaving the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group without its primary fuel source.

First reported on the gCaptain forum and by maritime historian Sal Mercogliano, a leaked video and photos show damage to the ship’s rudder post and water flooding into a mechanical space. US Navy vessels don’t typically transmit AIS signals, so we don’t know the exact location of the ship but a Navy source confirms she is anchored near Oman awaiting a full damage assessment.

Fortunately, no injuries or environmental damage have been reported for the ship. This is significant because the 33-year-old vessel is one of the single-hull versions of the Kaiser-class oilers.

Kaiser-class oilers, named after Henry J. Kaiser, were introduced in the 1980s and have long been the backbone of the Navy’s underway replenishment (UNREP) capabilities. These vessels refuel carrier strike groups and other naval assets at sea—a crucial task ensuring the Navy’s global reach and operational readiness. However, as single-hull tankers, they’ve been considered environmentally vulnerable since, following the Exxon Valdez oil spill, the 1990 Oil Pollution Act (OPA 90) mandated double-hull designs for commercial oil tankers.

The John Lewis-class, a modern replacement for the aging Kaiser-class, features double-hull construction, improved safety, and enhanced fuel capacity. Named after the late civil rights leader, these ships are designed to meet the Navy’s future logistical needs, reflecting a broader push to modernize the fleet and enhance operational resilience.

Compounding the problem is the fact that the Big Horn is the only oiler the Navy has in the Middle East. One shipowner told gCaptain that the Navy is scrambling to find a commercial oil tanker to take its place and deliver jet fuel to the USS Abraham Lincoln.

If the Navy resorts to using a commercial oil tanker as a temporary replacement, it would need to install a Consolidated Cargo Handling and Fueling (CONSOL) system for underway replenishment operations. This system includes specialized refueling rigs, tensioned fueling hoses, and high-capacity fuel pumps—all essential for safely transferring fuel to warships at sea. The tanker would also require robust communication and control systems to ensure precise coordination during refueling maneuvers.
This retrofitting process is no small feat. It requires significant modifications to the commercial vessel, enabling it to withstand the unique stresses and operational demands of pumping fuel while sailing at full speed. Moreover, a U.S. Merchant Marine crew trained in CONSOL UNREP procedures—a complex and high-risk operation—would need to be flown to the Middle East to supervise the operation. This adds another layer of complexity to an already challenging situation.

Commercial tankers are significantly slower than Navy oilers, which could leave the USS Abraham Lincoln more vulnerable to attack during aviation fuel loading operations.

-Land of the Free
Battleground state rancher ‘outraged' by Biden stopping wall construction as migrants pour into US
[FoxNews] An Arizona rancher has seen massive numbers of migrants cross through his ranch, which he blames on not only the ongoing border crisis, but the Biden administration’s refusal to finish Trump-era wall construction.

Jim Chilton, with his wife Sue, own a massive cattle ranch which includes land along the U.S. side of the U.S.-Mexico border. When Former President Donald Trump was in office, he built more than 450 miles of border wall, including both new construction and the replacement of prior fencing and other barriers.

Some of that construction occurred on the Chilton ranch with plans to keep building. However, when President Biden took office in 2021, construction stopped abruptly. Contracts were canceled and a stretch of land on the Chilton ranch was left either open or with Normandy barriers which are easy to traverse. There has been some construction under the Biden administration, but it has been largely limited to repairs and some small gaps.

Chilton is furious.

"I am personally outraged that President Biden stopped the wall. The wall works," Jim Chilton, who spoke at the Republican National Convention in July, told Fox News Digital at his ranch.

"It's 32 feet high, and it's got a solid five feet of metal on top, extremely hard to get over. Each of these [bollards] have cement inside. And it's extremely hard to cut it," he said.

"Biden stopped Trump's wall. Hopefully, in my opinion, Trump gets elected so he can finish the wall and secure the border," he said.

After the administration took office, the crisis at the southern border erupted, with record high apprehensions across the border. Those levels have come down this year, but Chilton says he has tracked over 3,560 suspected illegal immigrants on cameras set up in his ranch. He has caught a large number of them on camera.

He says it isn’t the migrants, who turn themselves in to either Border Patrol or a humanitarian group that sets up near the wall gap, that concern him, but those coming in in camouflage and seeking to avoid detection. Backpacks are left on the Mexican side of the wall apparently in preparation for the next group planning to come across.

"People are going north in camouflage and carpet shoes. These are serious hombres," Chilton said "They want to be in the United States without being detected. The Border Patrol rarely catches them. And many of them are packing drugs or other contraband. Some are MS-13 gangsters trying to get into the country. They don't want to be apprehended."

The dangers for the migrants are severe. In the intense Arizona heat, migrants can quickly get dehydrated, disoriented or fall and hurt themselves -- and the vastness of the environment means someone may be unlikely to find them. Chilton, who opposes illegal immigration but doesn’t want people to die on his ranch, has set up a number of taps on the water sources for his cattle, so migrants can get clean water if they reach them and avoid dehydration.

Trump has promised to launch a mass deportation operation and to finish wall construction if re-elected. The Biden administration has said that walls are ineffective, and have promoted a strategy of expanding lawful pathways while implementing "consequences" for illegal entry.

While numbers hit record highs in 2023, numbers this year have dropped sharply, with a drop by more than 50% since June when President Biden signed an executive order limiting entries into the U.S.

Chilton isn’t too concerned for his own safety, given he knows that most migrants who get deep into the ranch are seeking to avoid detection, but he carries a gun -- and drew it when approaching certain areas when he patrolled parts of the ranch with Fox News Digital.

Chilton, who has owned the ranch since the early 1990s, accused Biden and Vice President Harris of having "welcomed people to come into the United States, and they’ve done everything possible to make it very desirable."

He pointed to reports of free travel, bank cards, medical care and housing that migrants can get in some parts of the country.

"Why aren’t we creating jobs for people here like veterans and bringing in more people that will need jobs? Why are we providing housing for the undocumented when our own people aren't getting free hotels? I ask the question, why?"

Inadvertently Spilling the Truth: What Is the Democratic Party If Not the Party of Sophomoric Teens, Intrepid Cosplayers, and Would-Be Heroes?
[NoPasaran] Kamala Harris' cackling brings up a question I have often asked in the past 20 years.

What if Democrats — along with leftists the world over — turned out to be nothing but sophomoric individuals snorting with laughter as they stick it to the man, as they fool the grown-ups (ain't that what the 13 Rules for Radicals are all about?!), and, with the true teen-age mentality they possess, as they love to cosplay as senators, presidents, governors (remember the glee of Katie Hobbs at the Arizona inaugural after "defeating" Kari Lake?!), diplomats, filmmakers (on both sides of the camera), and — last but not least — esteemed debaters and professional journalists?

What if all that leftists love to do is cosplay as heroic individuals and knights in shining armor — fighting, among other things, to protect various minorities, to save democracy, and to defeat the West's inhumane monsters, i.e., racists, sexists, Nazis, fascists, and other Adolf Hitlers? (Thanks for the Instalink, Sarah.)

This is why leftists have dystopian fantasies (we must display our intelligence!) and are crisis creators (we must display our bravery!), and it is why those virtue-signallers can't debate and regularly refuse invitations from the right to do so (unless, perhaps, they use "neutral" moderators (sic) to assist them while said moderators attempt to demonize their opponents): the Drama Queens know that their fairy tales would be eviscerated in no time. Regularly, Dennis Prager and Larry Elder recount how they have often, over the years, suggested a debate to various leftists, famous or unknown — even one in which they are outnumbered 5 or 6 to 1 — and the leftists do not dare take them up on it. (Indeed, this is how Larry Elder "turned" Dave Rubin...)

As Jonah Goldberg wrote in Liberal Fascism,

That is how the liberal Gleichschaltung works; contrary voices are regulated, barred, banned when possible, mocked and marginalized when not. Progressive voices are encouraged, lionized, amplified — in the name of "diversity," or "liberation," or "unity," and, most of all, "progress."

...A "vital [task] in which guile and cunning are permitted." In the wake of a(n in)famous Bernie Sanders quote ("No, I don't think she's abandoning her ideals. I think she is trying to be pragmatic and do what she thinks is right in order to win the election"), leave it to a "respected" MSM outlet to spill the beans and tell the truth about the basic psychology ruling the members of the Democrat Party and other leftists — not excluding (as we can see) the mainstream media outlets themselves — the world over.

Ex-NYC COVID czar fired from job after copping to drug-fueled sex parties during pandemic
[NY Post] Followup story: Karma is a bitch
The city’s ex-COVID czar got the boot from his job at a pharmaceutical firm Monday — a week after he was caught bragging about hosting sex parties and attending an underground rave at the height of the pandemic.

Dr. Jay Varma was serving as a senior health adviser to then-Mayor Bill de Blasio during COVID-19 when he and his wife put on the sex- and drug-fueled debauchery and attended a packed Wall Street rave, according to secretly recorded conversations the doctor had with a woman.

"On September 23, 2024, the Board of Directors of SIGA Technologies (NASDAQ: SIGA) terminated Dr. Jay Varma, effective immediately, other than for cause, from his position as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of the Company," the firm wrote in a filing to the Securties and Exchange Commission.

"Pursuant to the terms of his employment agreement, Dr. Varma’s service on the Company’s Board of Directors also automatically ended effective immediately," said the filing, which is required when an event occurs that is deemed to affect public-company shareholders.

Varma critic and city Councilman Bob Holden said in a blistering statement, "Dr. Jay Varma’s firing is a step in the right direction, but the consequences for his actions are long overdue."

"Varma boasted about harassing people into submission over the vaccine mandate and admitted to participating in illegal sex parties, all while he, former Health Commissioner Dr. David Chokshi, and then-Mayor Bill de Blasio imposed draconian measures that shut down the entire city," the Queens Democrat said.

"The hypocrisy is outrageous."

Varma’s seamy chats — which included him boasting, "I did all this deviant, like sexual stuff," and, "I had to be kind of sneaky about it ... because I was running the entire COVID response in the city" — were made public last week by conservative podcaster Steven Crowder.

His firing came as enraged city business owners and parents joined lawmakers on the steps of City Hall on Monday to rally against the randy doctor, saying that while they were masking up, keeping their kids home from school and taking other precautionary measures against deadly COVID — under his instruction — he was getting up close and personal with throngs of people.

"While grandmothers took their last breaths alone on cold hospital beds, Dr. Varma was fulfilling his sick fantasies with hundreds of sweaty strangers," city Councilwoman Inna Vernikov (R-Brooklyn) raged.

Kamala Harris protested deportation with disgraced celebrity
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Vice President Kamala Harris in now promising to secure the border, but when she was a senator of California, she was a staunch opponent of deporting illegal immigrants.

Harris joined a group of protesters during a 2018 Los Angeles parade chanting, 'Down down with deportation!' in a video exclusively obtained by the Daily Mail.

Harris was named the grand marshal of the 33rd annual parade, typically reserved to celebrate the legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

But leftist political forces used the occasion to celebrate their own political causes, including the 'Times up!' movement, featuring women who protested sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace.

The topic of immigration enforcement also came up during the parade, prompting Harris to join chants celebrating illegal immigration without consequences.

'Up up with education, down, down with deportation!' she chanted enthusiastically with the group of activists at her side as she clapped her hands and pointed and smiled.

Harris was joined by members of her family including her husband Doug Emhoff and his daughter Ella Emhoff, who filed the occasion on her iPhone.

Other prominent figures who joined her in the parade included a onetime rising television star Jussie Smollet who was featured in the show Empire, a fictional story of a struggle for control of a hip-hop production company.

Smollet, wearing sunglasses and a Times Up t-shirt held a young girl and joined Harris in the throng of protester.

In January 2019, Smollet was found guilty of conducting a hoax hate crime after he falsely claimed he was jumped by two men wearing MAGA hats who poured bleach on him and wrapped a noose around his neck.

Harris famously described the attack as an 'attempted modern day lynching' on social media in a post she has still not deleted even after Smollet's claim has been thoroughly debunked.

Harris followed through with her goal of reducing deportation once she got to the White House.

According to data released by ICE, the Biden administration's actions in office resulted in a 67 percent decline in removals of criminal aliens compared to the Trump administration.

In the first three years of Trump's administration, ICE removed 485,930 illegal aliens with criminal confiscations or pending criminal charges.

The Biden-Harris administration, however, only removed 158,931 criminal aliens or pending charges.

Tunisians continue with protests against president Kais Saied, before October 6th election
[AFRICANEWS] For a second week, crowds of Tunisians took to Tunis' main avenue to denounce president Kais Saied, not long before the presidential election on October 6th. They're accusing him of reinforcing authoritarian rule and suppressing political competition.

The demonstration, which took place amid a heavy police protest, comes after politicians put forward a bill that would take away the administrative court's power to adjudicate electoral disputes. The opposition insists that this would discredit the upcoming election, and lay the groundwork for Saied to clinch another term in office.

Earlier this month, the country's electoral commission rejected a court ruling reinstating three presidential candidates, in what critics say is another example of Saied stamping out competition.

The president has denied accusations that he is using the electoral commission and judiciary to ensure a victory in October. Rather, he says he is waging a battle against traitors and the corrupt.

Political tensions in Tunisia have been on the rise since 2021, when Saied started to rule by decree. The opposition has called this move a 'coup'.

RSF detains dozens in Khartoum amid civilian protection efforts - Sudan Tribune

It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
has detained more than 40 military personnel and civilians in areas it controls in Khartoum, an official within the RSF's newly formed Civilian Protection Force said on Saturday.

Brigadier General Abdel Karim al-Qouni, the force's commander, told Sudan Tribune that military detainees were being tried in military prisons while civilians were referred to cop shoppes for investigation.

He said 42 people had been arrested for various crimes in the al-Sahafa suburb, south of the capital.

The RSF, led by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, announced the formation of the Civilian Protection Force in mid-August amid rising reports of abuses in areas under its control.

The force has also been deployed in the states of Gezira and Darfur, al-Qouni said.

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
the RSF denies its personnel are involved in any crimes, blaming ''outlaws'' and groups backed by the military intelligence of the Sudanese army.

The conflict in Sudan erupted in April between the army and the RSF, killing thousands and displacing millions.

Despite Hemetti's orders to protect civilians and facilitate humanitarian aid, reports of RSF abuses persist.

On Saturday, residents in south Khartoum reported RSF elements firing randomly and looting in the al-Inqaz neighbourhood.

Al-Qouni acknowledged the challenges faced by the force but said it was committed to providing a safe environment for civilians.

He said the force is ''military and civilian in nature'' and has ''all powers of arrest, detention and apprehension. ''

Sudan's Bashir and former officials transferred to Merowe Hospital - Sudan Tribune

South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
's ousted President Omer al-Bashir and three former bigwigs were transferred from military detention to a hospital in Merowe, Northern State, last Thursday due to their declining health, Bashir's lawyer told Sudan Tribune.

Al-Bashir, former Defence Minister Abdelrahim Mohammed Hussein and former Youth and Sports Minister Youssef Abdel Fattah, were moved from the Wadi Seidna military area in Omdurman, lawyer Mohammed Hassan al-Amin said. Former Vice President Bakri Hassan Saleh had been transferred to the same hospital three weeks prior.

The transfer followed a request by the defence team and a military group called ''Comrades-in-Arms'' after a medical report indicated the necessary treatment was unavailable at the Wadi Seidna military hospital.

Al-Amin stated that Bashir is suffering from multiple health complications related to old age, requiring treatment abroad, along with Abdel Fattah and Hussein. Saleh had a pacemaker implanted, and all require regular medical follow-up.

Al-Amin called for their release under personal guarantees, noting they were tossed into the calaboose for nearly five and a half years despite a Chief Justice's decision to release them due to military intelligence.

Bashir and other former regime leaders were moved to Kober prison in Khartoum North following his removal from power in April 2019. They escaped along with thousands of prisoners after the outbreak of war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in April 2023.

15 civilians killed in Omdurman market by RSF shells - Sudan Tribune
[SUDANTRIBUNE] At least 15 civilians, including women and kiddies, were killed and 61 others maimed on Monday when shells fired by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) struck a bustling market north of Omdurman, according to health officials.

The RSF attack marked the latest escalation in Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. 's brutal conflict, which has ravaged the capital region for months.

The paramilitary group has repeatedly targeted the Sabreen market area in recent days, drawing condemnation from residents and humanitarian groups. Monday's shelling, which hit the market and surrounding neighbourhoods, left bodies strewn amid the wreckage of stalls and shops.

''The RSF shelled the Sabreen market in Karari, which was crowded with citizens,'' said Mohammed Ibrahim, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Khartoum state. He added that the corpse count was likely to rise as many of the maimed were at death's door.

The attack prompted regular Sudanese forces to close the market, which had remained a rare hub of commercial activity despite the ongoing conflict. Witnesses described scenes of panic as people fled the shelling, some carrying the maimed in their arms.

Israel Update :

-For decades we were told on the media that Hezbollah has hundreds of thousands of missiles and a war with them will mean hundreds if not thousands casualties and all the infrastructure messed up, possibly no power etc…
Apparently at least for now it looks like the IDF worked it all out.
In 24 hours 1600 targets were destroyed. Apparently the IDF had the locations of the munitions and missiles and figured out how to destroy launchers before or right after they use them. The Intel is down to the level of individual houses. It is not discussed on media but it may be that the Mossad is going to win this war.
About 500 killed and over 1,500 injured with no casualties at all in Israel. A complete domination of the situation.
I am sure that the Liberal media will cover the “genocide of Lebanon” and the “innocents” but the IDF also gave them time to evacuate, I have videos of how they phones of the Lebanese magically received voice messages to evacuate and their radio was taken over with messages to evacuate and flier to evacuate. The operation focused on destroying their munition storages which they created in two decades. Nasrallah miscalculated and created a formula of daily back and forth with the hopes to exhaust Israel and its economy. The motion of civilians also takes important place. Israel had some 60,000 – 80,000 citizens dislocated. Now all of South Lebanon is dislocated hundreds of thousands.
This creates pressure in Lebanon because Hezbollah has many enemies in Lebanon. The name of this operation is “Northern Arrows”.
What was attacked are:
Heavy Cruise missiles DR-3 which can reach 1000 Kilometers and can escape interception.
Heavy rockets with a 1,000 Kg warhead. Similar to the one that killed 12 children in a soccer game and injured many.
Mid range rockets that can reach 200KM.
Rockets that can reach 50Km.
Drones that can reach 100 KM.
Israel had about 600 Hezbollah people killed since 10/8 and now the numbers are multiplying.
The IDF also attacked once in Beirut in an attempt to kill the number three of Hezbollah who is over South Lebanon (by Israel). At first there were reports that he was killed then Hezbollah denied it. We estimate that he is injured.
Hezbollah managed to fire over 200 rockets at Israel. All the way to Haifa area and and deeper up to about 100KM. Iron Dome intercepted most of it. Some landed in open areas and a few made it through and caused damage but with God’s help no one was seriously injured.

-Israel is under intense pressure from Biden and his Administration to not invade. This explains me the strategy of the IDF. I mentioned it before and will repeat. The IDF is intensifying the strikes and giving Hezbollah a chance to make a deal. The only deal Israel can have is a cease fire and Hezbollah withdraw a few miles past the Litani River.
In my opinion this is all a chess play to not burn bridges with the US.
Everyone with an understanding of the Middle East knows that honor means everything and they can’t just surrender.
But this is a bit biblical, like the story of Exodus, when God inflicted strike after strike and Moses kept saying “Let my people go”. Eventually it was so bad that the Pharaoh gave up.

-Nasrallah lost almost all the high Command. Radwan Force that was their elite force has lost its command too. The Hezbollah is overwhelmed at this moment of time. They are at the lowest point since their inception. This would be an ideal time to move in. But Bibi is still scheduled to appear in the UN and fly over this Wednesday. He delayed to Wednesday.
If there was a ground invasion he wouldn’t go. But this could also be a misdirector and he could cancel in the last moment.
If the IDF permits it to linger then we will be in trouble as the toll on the economy and the society is high. We must put an end to the wars rapidly. When we see in Gaza at the moment is more of raids than a full war at the moment.

-Some rumors that Sinwar (Hamas leader) is killed. Because he went off communications and the last few communication from him were not typical for him. I can’t tell what’s the truth but I doubt that it’s a true report. We shall see.

-Netanyahu said in a meeting today that “the goal of the operations is to disconnect Hezbollah from the war in Gaza. (In addition to securing the return of out citizens to their homes).

-I have to mention that the center of gravity of Hezbollah is in the Dachia neighborhood of Beirut. The destruction of this neighborhood is Hezbollah’s nightmare. The civilians there have already fled. This must be the next target.
I am also sure that we are looking for Nassrallah their leader. He has a good reason to seek a deal. But I doubt that he is there yet.

-I have to mention that even if we took out more than a half of their missiles and they still have 50,000 missiles, it’s only the beginning and we could be heading to a long war of attrition and a mess, so over-cheering is a mistake.
Israel must not repeat the Gaza error and linger with hopes of diplomacy and get into a year of back and forth while the international community is all over us. So we will see how it’s going. For sure it’s a good beginning but no war was ever won from the air alone. The high Command said that we are expecting some difficult days and challenges.

God bless Israel and the US. "

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran ready for nuclear talks at UN ''if other parties willing'', says foreign minister
[GEO.TV] Iran

They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
is ready to start nuclear negotiations on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York if "other parties are willing", Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Monday in a video published on his Telegram channel.

The US, under then-President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
, withdrew in 2018 from a nuclear accord signed in 2015 by Iran and six world powers under which Tehran curbed its disputed nuclear programme in return for a lifting of international sanctions.

Indirect talks between Washington and Tehran to revive the deal have stalled. Iran is still formally part of the deal but has scaled back commitments to honour it due to US sanctions reimposed on the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

"I will stay in New York for a few more days than the [Iranian] president and will have more meetings with various foreign ministers. We will focus our efforts on starting a new round of talks regarding the nuclear pact," Araqchi said.

He added that messages have been exchanged via Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
and a "general declaration of readiness" issued, but cautioned that "current international conditions make the resumption of talks more complicated and difficult than before".

Araqchi said he would not meet with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken
...71st United States secretary of state and a leading light of the corrupt and inept Biden administration. He previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under the corrupt and inept Obama administration. He advocated for the 2003 invasion of Iraq while serving as the Democratic staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2002 to 2008. He was a foreign policy advisor for the Biden 2008 presidential campaign. During his tenure in the Obama administration, Blinken helped craft B.O.'s policy on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the nuclear program of Iran. We all saw how well each of those worked. After leaving government service, Blinken moved into the private sector, co-founding WestExec Advisors, a lobbying firm...
: "I do not believe it would be expedient to hold such a dialogue. There were such meetings before but there is currently no suitable ground for that. We are still a long way from holding direct talks."

Since the renewal of US sanctions during the Trump administration, Tehran has refused to directly negotiate with Washington and worked mainly through European or Arab intermediaries.

[Regnum News Agency] The Shiite "people's militia" of Iraq announced its full readiness and mobilization to provide humanitarian aid to the residents of Lebanon. This was stated in a statement by the militia leader Falih al-Fayya.
He is the titular Iraqi emir of the Popular Mobilisation Forces — Hashd al-Shaabi in Arabic — organized, paid, and officered by the IRGC as their military arm in Iraq.
“We declare our full readiness and mobilization to provide all possible types of assistance at the food, medical and humanitarian levels to our brothers in Lebanon in response to the call of the highest religious authority and out of human duty,” the statement, cited by RIA Novosti, reads.

Falih al-Fayyad also called on other countries to provide aid and humanitarian support to the Lebanese.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on September 23, the Israeli army announced the expansion of the strike zone on targets of the Shiite movement Hezbollah in Lebanon.

According to the Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, the IDF will continue fighting until it restores security in northern Israel.

On September 23, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that at least 100 people were killed and more than 400 were injured as a result of strikes carried out by the Israeli Air Force on populated areas in southern Lebanon.

#9  From AoS:

A RACOON PROBLEM CAN EXPLAIN TRUMP'S ATTRACTION

Like many citizens, I've wondered and tried hard to understand why Trump has such a remarkably large and loyal following. It's obvious why he probably should not! I, personally, do not like Trump or his persona. I wish he would just "go away" and spare us the embarrassment of having him show up on TV.

However; it doesn't look like he's about to leave the scene..... I still struggle to understand....

Then a friend sent me this raccoon story. It makes no difference about your political leanings, this is just a good explanation of WHY... (or it's as good as any I can come up with).

Do you really want to know how the majority of American citizens feel? This applies to both Democrats and Republicans; read below, it says it all.

You've been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your basement is infested with raccoons. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons have overtaken your basement. And they have learned to get to the top floor of your once beautiful, middle class home. You want no them gone immediately. You call the city, 4 different exterminators, but nobody can handle the job.

But there is this one guy that specializes in racoon eradication and he guarantees you to get rid of them. So you hire him. You don't care if the guy smells, you don't care if the guy swears, you don't care if he's an alcoholic, you don't care how many times he's been married, you don't care if he voted for Obama, you don't care if he has a plumber's crack, you don't even care if he's a misogynist. you simply want those raccoons gone! You want your problem fixed! He's the guy. He's the best to solve the problem. Period.

Here's a corollary story for why Trump has such a large following of patriotic American citizens. Yes he's a bit of an ass (maybe a total ass). Yes, he's an egomaniac, an adulterer, a loud-mouth and abusive but we don't care because he makes sense with "Make America Great Again". The country is a mess because politicians totally suck and produce only self-serving rules. The Republicans and Democrats can be two-faced & gutless, and illegals are everywhere. Washington DC is infested with self-serving pests. We want it all fixed!

We don't care that Trump is crude, we don't care that he insults people, we don't care that he once was friendly with Hillary, we don't care that he has changed positions, we don't care that he's been married 3 times, we don't care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and Rosie O'Donnell, we don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslim terrorist. Also, we don't care if the guy has bad hair. This country is weak in resolve and bankrupt. Our enemies are making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegals (probably even terrorists), we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo, and Hasid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in; "AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED"!!!

And Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want. We're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, sick of the Republican Party, sick of identity politics with self-identified special groups, sick of trying to guess the preferred pronoun and sick of illegals. We just want this thing fixed!!!!

Trump may not be a saint (he's definitely NOT), but he doesn't have lobbyist money holding him and he doesn't have political correctness restraining him. All you know is that he has been very successful, is a good negotiator, and he has built a lot of things. He's also not a politician.......he's not a cowardly politician......

And he says he'll fix it. And, we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar.

We just want those raccoons gone, out of our house, NOW!!!!

The raccoons have got to go!!!!

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
On the sinking of the Black Sea Fleet ships on September 11, 1854
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the Live Journal account of chief_a79.

[ColonelCassad] So, on September 2, 1854, the allied army landed in the Crimea in the area of Evpatoria. Having put itself in order after the landing, the enemy moved towards Sevastopol. The Russian army tried to prevent this, and as a result, on September 8, a major field battle took place near the Alma River, which, unfortunately, was lost by our troops.

In Sevastopol, they learned about the beginning of the battle at about 14.00, from the message of the Lukulsky telegraph - "The army entered the battle".

Having received this news, the Chief of Staff of the Black Sea Fleet, Vice-Admiral V. A. Kornilov, accompanied by engineer-lieutenant colonel E. I. Totleben, left for Alma. But they did not get there, since the battle by this time had already ended and they met the Russian units already retreating after the defeat.

Having found the commander-in-chief of the troops in Crimea, Prince A. S. Menshikov, they accompanied him to the Kacha River, and then returned to Sevastopol. It was on Kacha that the order was given to build a barrier at the entrance to Sevastopol Bay. The order itself was probably oral (the army headquarters had not yet been deployed after the battle and communication with Menshikov took place simply in the field). And its content can only be judged from indirect sources and subsequent actions of the Russian command.

The essence of the prince's decision was that by blocking the entrance to Sevastopol Bay, the possibility of an attack on the city from the sea was completely excluded, as a result of which it became possible to turn all available forces of the port, ships, and also partially coastal defense to defend the fortress from an attack from land.

Moreover, to build the barrier, it was necessary to sink the battleships and frigates. The reason why it was necessary to sink them was the great depths at the entrance to the bay - from 16 to 20 m in the place chosen for the barrier. Accordingly, the barrier required ships with a very high side. Therefore, neither the merchant ships available in the city, nor the small-rank warships were completely suitable, only battleships and frigates.

Already in the morning of September 9, Kornilov convened a council of the commanders of warships and other senior officers of the Black Sea Fleet who were in Sevastopol at the time. At the council, the admiral gave a speech in which he described the situation that had developed at that time. The main thing in his message was that the advancing enemy would soon be able to quite easily occupy the northern side of Sevastopol, as a result of which the fleet in the bay would inevitably be destroyed.

As an alternative to sinking, which Kornilov absolutely did not want to accept, he very persistently proposed going out to sea and attacking the enemy fleet. In his opinion, after the defeat of the fleet, having lost hope of supplies and support from the sea, the allied army would not dare to attack the fortress, and the Russian army, hiding in the fortress, would calmly wait for the relief troops. Quite unexpectedly for himself, Kornilov did not find support from those gathered. The absolute majority of the officers present spoke out sharply against his proposal. As a result, the admiral dissolved the meeting that did not support him and gave the officers present the following order: "Prepare to leave; a signal will be given: what to do."

Here, I think, it is necessary to interrupt the chronology of the narrative and say a few words about the meeting of flag officers. Unfortunately, I have never come across a direct indication of why Kornilov convened the council. After all, there was an unambiguous order from the commander-in-chief to sink the ships and no council naturally had the authority to cancel it. It seems to me that Kornilov did not want to sink the ships so much that he tried to somehow legitimize his decision not to carry out Menshikov's order.

There is an interesting mention of this episode in the memoirs of A. A. Panayev, adjutant of Prince Menshikov. He reports that Kornilov asked the prince for permission to bring up the issue of sinking at a military council and apparently even received permission from him to do so, but since the prince was sure that the admiral would not find any support at the council, he did not take part in it. As we can see, Menshikov was right and almost none of the Black Sea Fleet officers dared to follow the will of the commander-in-chief.

After leaving the council, Kornilov went to the prince's headquarters, where he directly announced to him that he would not sink anything and announced his intention to go to sea. Naturally, this caused indignation in Menshikov, but he still repeated his order. Having received a second refusal, the angry prince immediately ordered Kornilov to leave for Nikolaev, and also to summon Vice-Admiral M.N. Stanyukovich (at that time the commander of the Sevastopol port and the military governor of Sevastopol) to him in order to assign him the responsibility for constructing an obstacle. Only now, under the threat of removal, Kornilov was forced to accept the inevitable and accept the decision of the senior commander.

Immediately after this, the admiral began quite a flurry of activity, solving the issues of defending the port and the city under the new conditions. True, at the same time, he still quietly continued to sabotage the order to sink the ships. In particular, he drew up a new plan for the disposition of the fleet in the roadstead, which was approved by the commander-in-chief that same day. After which an order was given with the following content (only the points concerning the upcoming scuttling of the ships are quoted):

“1) Due to the enemy’s expectation here, who, taking advantage of his numerical superiority, has pushed back our troops and is threatening to attack the northern shore of Sevastopol Bay, the consequence of which will be the impossibility of the fleet holding on to the position currently occupied; and going out to sea to fight with twice the number of enemy ships, without promising success, will only uselessly deprive the city of its main defenders - I, with the permission of His Lordship, announce the following orders, which I ask to be immediately executed.

2) The ships are to be placed according to the disposition designated in the plan; of these, the old ones: Tri Svyatelitsa, Uriel, Selaphail, Varna and Silistria, the frigates: Flora and Sizopol – are to be sunk in the fairway. …

10) Rear Admiral Vukotich 1 is to carry out the scuttling of the ships when necessary…”

This document mentions for the first time the ships chosen to go to the bottom. All of them were indeed quite old, having served for 11-19 years:

Tri Svyatelya was launched in 1838, Uriel in 1840, Selafail in 1840, Varna in 1842, Silistria in 1835, Sizopol in 1841 and Flora in 1839.

Moreover, not all of them were from the combat fleet - the ship Silistria by this time had already been listed as a port blockship and was used as a training and artillery vessel.

Ship Sultan Mahmud, the lead ship of the series of which were the battleships Varna, Selafail and Uriel, sunk on September 11. A little later, in the same line of obstacles, the same type of "Gavriil" will be sunk:

By 23.30 on September 9, the steamships had finished placing the ships in the places assigned to them by the disposition. The ships selected for sinking were placed across the fairway between the Konstantinovskaya and Aleksandrovskaya coastal batteries. At the same time, according to Kornilov's adjutant, the admiral was not going to sink the ships immediately, as the commander-in-chief demanded, but in the event "if the enemy takes possession of the northern shore of the roadstead."

On September 10, 1854, there are sketches of Russian ships placed in position for sinking, including from eyewitnesses on the enemy side. In the evening from the 9th to the 10th, and also in the morning of September 10, the English steam frigates "Sampson" and "Terrible", as well as the French screw corvette "Roland" approached the city. It is interesting that at night, the English were even able to approach the Russian ships unnoticed in a boat:

On the morning of September 10, Prince Menshikov again ordered to finally block the fairway and send the ships' crews to reinforce the troops on the shore. In executing this decision, Kornilov allocated the steamships Turok and Danube with a detachment of rowboats to bring various valuables from the ships destined for sinking to the shore. But, still having a vain hope of saving the ships, he ordered that the artillery not be removed from them yet!

But the external pressure of circumstances was inexorable. By this time, the Russian commander-in-chief had already finally decided that the field army would leave Sevastopol (the prince was going to begin his famous flanking maneuver) and the defense of the city would entirely fall on the shoulders of the fleet. Under these conditions, it was no longer possible to delay the creation of a barrier.

Kornilov made the final decision at 6 p.m. on September 10. By his order, the national flag was raised over the building of the Naval Library (then the highest building in the city, on its roof there was an observation platform and a signal mast), a previously agreed upon symbol that the ships must be sunk. Having gathered the commanders of the ships assigned to sink the ships on board the battleship Rostislav, he ordered that everything that could be brought ashore during the night and that they be sunk at dawn.

But in fact, there was no night for the bringing down. Rear Admiral Vukotich, who was in charge of the sinking, ordered that it be started at 19.00 and by 06.00 on September 11, all the ships except the Three Saints were already at the bottom. The mighty 120-gun giant, a participant in the Battle of Sinop, stubbornly refused to sink, demonstrating its excellent survivability.

At 19.00 on September 10, upon receiving the order to sink, the taps were opened and the sinking began. An hour later, to speed up the process, a hole was made in the bottom of the ship with a shot from a specially installed carronade. However, at 09.00 the next day, the ship stubbornly showed no signs that it would soon sink. Therefore, on the orders of Admiral Vukotich, the steam frigate Gromonosets fired 27 shots at the underwater part of the battleship, which did not want to sink. But even after that, Tri Svyatelya stayed afloat for more than three hours! Only at 13.00 did the waters close over the long-suffering ship. The barrier at the entrance to Sevastopol Bay, so desired by Prince Menshikov, was finally created.

What did this give for the defense of the fortress? Of course, the mobilization of all naval resources for the defense of Sevastopol from land, as the Russian commander-in-chief wanted. This mainly resulted in a sharp increase in the number of personnel allocated for combat on the land front. The number of naval battalions in one day increased from 8 to 17! This became possible only because not only the crews of the sunken ships were sent to staff the battalions, but also people from other ships of the fleet, whose crews were reduced as much as possible.

Moreover, it was not so much the number of people under arms that was important here (although of course this is very important), but the opportunity that appeared to send large masses of people to urgent fortification work. The absence of the threat of an enemy breakthrough into Sevastopol Bay, and accordingly the need to counteract this, also made it possible to remove some people from the internal coastal raid batteries, as well as to use all the remaining battleships and steamships to provide fire support to the troops on the Northern side.

The ships were deployed to new positions on September 10. In short, when the enemy approached the city, he saw a fairly strong defensive position, which continued to improve continuously, with a large garrison. At the same time, without the ability to receive full support for an attack on the city from the sea, and having the Crimean Army in their rear and on the flank (the result of that same flank movement), stretched communications (the nearest base in Yevpatoria was 80 km away), which could be cut off by the Russians at any moment, the allies did not dare to attack Sevastopol from the north.

Prince Menshikov brilliantly managed to neutralize the consequences of the defeat at Alma, the allies' "blitzkrieg" failed. Instead of a quick operation, they were forced to switch to a long siege. Without blocking the fairway, this most likely would not have happened.

But, naturally, the flooding also had its negative sides. The first thing that comes to mind is, of course, the loss of warships, especially battleships. At one point, the Black Sea Fleet lost 28% of its combat-ready battleships. Of the 14 (plus one more was undergoing repairs in Nikolaev), only ten remained.

The blow to the fleet's combat capability was very strong. The only thing that can be said here is that over the next two months, the balance of power in the Black Sea was nevertheless restored. This was due to both the unsuccessful attack of the allied fleets on the coastal front of the Sevastopol fortress and the storm of November 2, 1854. Two battleships perished in Yevpatoria (Turkish and French), and several more required dock repairs and left the theater of military operations.

One of the most negative consequences of the sinking of the ships for the defense of Sevastopol was Kornilov's decision to delay the removal of the guns from the ships to the shore, which resulted in them having to be sunk with all their artillery armament. Of course, the decision to delay the removal was dictated by the admiral's hope of preventing the sinking itself and not losing the combat capability of the ships, if he had managed to achieve his goal. However, as we know, Menshikov's order was not cancelled, and the time that could have been used to disarm the ships was irretrievably lost. The result was that more than five hundred large-caliber guns sank to the bottom of the Great Sevastopol Bay! In total, excluding boat artillery, there were 474 large guns on the sunken ships and frigates:

36-pounder cannons - 236 pcs.
24-pounder cannons - 250 pcs. cannons - 56 pcs.
18-pounder cannons - 8 pcs.
1-pounder unicorns - 16 pcs.
36-pounder cannon-carronades - 34 pcs.
24-pounder cannon-carronades - 104 pcs.
36-pounder carronades - 20 pcs
.
Plus another 29 guns (I don’t know what kind of cannons they were) were on board the training artillery block ship “Silistriya”.

In addition, which is important, thousands of shells and tons of gunpowder went to the bottom along with the cannons. But the shell and gunpowder crises of the defenders began already in 1854 and they continued until the fall of the city. And in the summer of 1855, the seemingly bottomless reserves of artillery in the Sevastopol port and on ships came to an end, which in turn led to a severe shortage of heavy artillery. In a word, the sunken property would have been very, very useful during the siege, especially the heavy guns themselves, the delivery of which to Sevastopol by land was associated with significant difficulties.

Of course, I am far from thinking that the material property that perished as a result of the actions of Admiral Kornilov (who, of course, did not act maliciously, but with the best of intentions) could have saved Sevastopol from falling, but still, it could undoubtedly have influenced the course of the siege for the better for Russia.

Speaking about the consequences of the sinking, one cannot help but touch on the topic of the corvette Orest (1836, 18 8-pounder cannons), which, in fact, also became a victim of the fairway obstruction on September 11, 1854. The ship served as a floating battery to protect Quarantine Bay and it so happened that after the sinking of the ships, it remained outside the obstacle that appeared. Frankly speaking, it seems that in the chaos that reigned in Sevastopol, the field of the Alma battle, the corvette, standing in a separate bay outside the city, was simply forgotten. And since the western shore of the Quarantine Bay was soon occupied by the French, the ship had to be sunk there and then.

At the same time, of course, the question arises as to why they did not try to bring the Orestes into Sevastopol, since the barrier was not solid and had passages that allowed Russian ships to leave the bay (many, by the way, do not know about this). It is quite possible that at the time of the corvette's sinking, the appropriate measurements had not yet been made and the existence of an accessible passage was simply unknown. In short, this question is still waiting for its researcher.

As for the passages through the line of the sunken, such exits were rare, I would even say very rare. Our fleet in the Crimean War did not dare to take active offensive actions even near its bases, where it would have been possible to rely on strong coastal defense. Here are actually all the exits:

On September 29, 1854, an Austrian transport ship in calm weather drifted into the zone of action of the fortress's coastal batteries and was abandoned by the crew after shelling. The steamship Danube was sent to capture the abandoned ship. However, after two English steamships arrived at the scene of the battle, ours was recalled back to Sevastopol.

On the night of October 12-13, 1854, the steamship Danube and the fire ship Bug (former transport) set out to attack the enemy fleet. The attack failed, and the ships returned to Sevastopol.

On November 24, 1855, the steam frigates Vladimir and Khersones attacked enemy ships standing at the entrance to Sevastopol Bay.
As you can see, the list is regrettably short.

And now I will deviate somewhat into alternative history and ask myself the question - was it possible not to sink the ships? Personally, I have long since decided and believe that in that situation, Prince Menshikov's decision to block the entrance to Sevastopol Bay was completely justified and timely. However, it seems to me that even having created a barrier, a significant part of the ships sacrificed to save Sevastopol could have been saved.

The fact is that Sevastopol had battleships and frigates that were not a pity to lose. Naturally, we are talking about blockships - ships decommissioned and used for various auxiliary purposes. In our case, as housing. Two former battleships (blockships No. 1 and No. 2) and two frigates (blockships No. 3 and No. 5) were located in the upper reaches of the Southern Bay near the Arrestant settlement. Accordingly, it would have been possible to use these blockships in the barrier, and not the combat ships. But for some reason this was not done.

Let us return from the alternative to real history and, in conclusion of this long narrative, I will write a few words about the fate of the first line of the barrier and the ships that made it up.

The barrier, created on September 10, 1854, although it lasted the entire war, by the spring of 1855, due to the autumn and winter storms, it had become unusable. The first to suffer was the blockship Silistria, which was badly damaged by the storm of October 29, 1854. Measurements showed that above the ship “there was a passage in places up to 36 feet (11 m) deep”. To eliminate this hole in the barrier, on November 5, the 84-gun battleship Gavriil was laid to the bottom near the place where Silistria sank. A little later, in the shallow area between the frigate Sizopol and the Konstantinovskaya battery, the corvette Pilad and one merchant ship were sunk. After this, the first line was no longer reinforced.

On December 15, 1854, Prince Menshikov received a report from Admiral Nakhimov with the following content:

“Strong westerly winds and large waves destroyed the barrier of their sunken ships at the entrance to the Sevastopol roadstead; a careful sounding, made on my orders, shows that the depth along the entire line exceeds 28 feet (8.5 m). The importance of this circumstance obliges me, without observing the form, to hasten to report directly to Your Highness.”

Apparently, after three months, the line of sunken ships, as a barrier designed to prevent enemy battleships from breaking through to the Sevastopol roadstead, no longer existed. But the need to protect the roadstead did not go away, therefore, in early February 1855, a second line of barriers from sunken ships was built in the depths of the roadstead.

After the Crimean War, extensive work was carried out in Sevastopol to clear the bays of ships sunk there during military operations. The first line of barriers was reached only in 1859. Here is an excerpt from an interesting article in the "Naval Collection", which describes the condition of the ships from this line after almost 5 years of being underwater:

"The frigate "Flora" is sunk at a depth of 8 fathoms; its bow is facing the Konstantinovsky Fort; the above-water part of the frigate with decks is torn off and carried to the east of the place; and the underwater part that remains in place is sunk into the ground to a depth of about 14 feet, filled with guns, tanks, rigging and other ship's property, and all this is littered with the wreckage of the frigate. On the sea side there is a large drift of sand….

The ship "Silistria" is sunk to a depth of 9½ fathoms; the bow is facing the Konstantinovsky fort; the stern is completely destroyed; only one stern post with steering loops remains; the poop and waist decks of the decks with the above-water parts are dumped to the east, so that the upper edge of the remaining side in this place is no more than 8 feet from the ground; this part is covered with sand on both sides and littered with ship's property. The bow of the ship remains with the wreckage of the side decks.

The ship "Gavriil" is sunk at a depth of 9½ fathoms, not in line with the others, but about 10 fathoms to the W of the last ship "Silistriya", so that the middle of its waist is opposite the cheekbone of the ship "Silistriya"; the stern part is turned to the Alexander Fort; the poop with parts of the decks for about 8 fathoms and part of the waist for no more than 5 fathoms are in place; the bow part with the decks is completely destroyed and carried away from the place of the ship; the underwater part is submerged in the ground for about 10 feet and littered with debris.

The ship "Varna" is sunk at a depth of 10 fathoms, with its bow to the Constantine Fort; the left side is destroyed and carried 5 fathoms to the West; the right side with parts of the decks fell inside the ship; the fore and aft stems are in their places.

The ship "Tri Svyatitelya" was sunk in the direction of the leading lighthouse, at a depth of 10½ fathoms. The stern part along the mizzen mast is destroyed and separated from its place; along the length from the mizzen to the mainmast, the keel is broken; the bow part with the decks is preserved; the interior is littered with debris from decks and beams; there is less sand drift than on other ships.

The ship "Uriel" was sunk at a depth of 10 fathoms in an inclined position, with the deck to the seaward side; the bow is facing the Constantine Fort; the bow and stern parts with decks are completely destroyed and separated from their places; the middle of the ship between the main and foremasts is preserved with parts of the decks.

The frigate "Sizopol" was sunk at a depth of 9½ fathoms, with the bow facing the Constantine Fort. In the direction of the keel, it is broken into two parts, so that the right side deviates to the east, and the left to the west; it is littered with debris from the decks and in places covered with sand.

The least depth above the first line is 42 feet".

Naturally, there was nothing left to raise there in its entirety. The ships were raised in parts and disposed of. This is where the history of the barrier line of sunken ships created on September 11, 1854, at the entrance to Sevastopol Bay, ended.

Russian Foreign Ministry: Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding up to 120 civilians captive in Sudzha, including up to 15 children
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are holding from 70 to 120 civilians in one of the social institutions in Sudzha. This was stated by Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik during a press conference.

"On the other side we have places where civilians have been forcibly driven, in particular Sudzha, one of the social institutions. According to our data, from 70 to 120 people are being held in this territory," he said.

According to him, up to 15 people are children.

Miroshnik added that it is currently known about 266 wounded and 56 killed civilians since the invasion of Ukrainian troops into the Kursk region. However, it will be possible to calculate all the data, establish all the consequences and initiate criminal cases only after the liberation of this territory from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the diplomat added.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, reported that the Ukrainian military had taken some of the civilians captured in the border settlements of the Kursk region outside of Russia. Their fate is currently unknown, she added.

According to the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatyana Moskalkova, since August 5, 2024, 1,118 requests have been received regarding the protection of the rights of civilians and military personnel captured in the Kursk region.

Earlier, the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Ukrainian military personnel involved in the shooting of residents of the Kursk region. According to the investigation, on August 8, 2024, Ukrainian militants fired at two civilian VAZ cars in the Sudzhansky district using a tank and small arms. As a result of the incident, one civilian was killed and two more were injured.

Kupyansko-Svatovskoye direction: a dash to Kruglyakovka.

In the Kupyansk-Svatovsky direction, the Russian Armed Forces continue to develop the offensive from the previously captured Peschanoye, attacking in several directions at once.

- To the northwest of the village, the Russian Armed Forces are consolidating new positions in forest belts, from where the outskirts of Novoosinovo are about six kilometers away. To the southwest, a significant advance of Russian troops has been recorded in the Peschanoye area.

– Judging by the objective monitoring footage, Russian troops are fighting on the territory of one of the large strongholds, from where the northern outskirts of Kruglyakovka are less than two and a half kilometers away.

– At the same time, there has been no information about the withdrawal of Ukrainian formations from the Vovchye forest and nearby ravines, just as there has been no information about the retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the “pocket” near Berestovoye. Given the configuration of the terrain, it is quite possible that there will be a remaining focal presence of enemy forces in this area.

– To the north, the Russian Armed Forces have established full control over Kislovka, repelling several attacks in the direction of neighboring Kotlyarovka. They have also improved their tactical position in the forests near Sin'kovka, and the Aerospace Forces continue to systematically strike at the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ pontoon crossings on the Oskol River in the Kupyansk-Uzlovoye area.

– If the current pace of advance towards the section of the O-211942 highway on the Novoosinovo-Glushkovka-Kolesnikovka-Kruglyakovka line continues, then in the near future we should expect the Russian Armed Forces to reach the water barrier with a subsequent split in two of the Ukrainian group on the left bank of the Oskol River.

15:57 Special military operation. Situation on September 23 – map.

15:04 The Russian Armed Forces have advanced in Dzerzhinsk south of the prison colony and have occupied a neighboring waste heap, which will facilitate further advancement in the city, where the advance toward the central part of Dzerzhinsk continues. The enemy is resisting fiercely, but cannot stop our advance.

The liberation of Dzerzhinsk should seriously improve the situation of heroic Gorlovka, which has been under fire for over 10 years.

14:53 It is reported that the village of Nevskoye on the border of the LPR and DPR has completely come under the control of Russian troops; the Russian flag was hung there the day before yesterday. The enemy has also lost a significant piece of territory between Nevskoye and Makeyevka. The liberation of the territory of the LPR that remains under enemy control continues.

14:11 Telegram channel " Rybar ":

South Donetsk direction: advance of the Russian Armed Forces along the Konstantinovka-Vodyanoye and Novodonetskoye-Prechistovka lines.

Russian troops continue to carry out a chain of offensive actions in several areas of the South Donetsk direction.

– At the Konstantinovka-Vodyanoye line, units of the Russian Armed Forces were able to advance in the forest belts in the vicinity of the Solyonenkaya ravine, having covered about half the distance to the southern outskirts of Katerinovka.

- In the area of Vodyanoye, Russian attack aircraft have reached the forest belt closest to the settlement from the west, and also continue to fight on the territory of the mine "Yuzhnodonbasskaya No. 3". By the morning of the current day, the enemy was finally driven out of positions on the territory of the industrial zone.

– Artillery and air strikes continue on Ugledar and its environs, as well as strike UAVs. There have been no reports of an offensive in the direction of the city itself from the south, which, however, is understandable given the experience of previous attempts. To the east, there are battles in dachas that the Russian Armed Forces fighters latched onto several days ago.

– West of Pavlovka, halfway to Prechistovka, a small advance of the Russian Armed Forces was again recorded. Judging by the footage on the Internet, Russian attack aircraft in armored personnel carriers dropped into a forest belt not far from the Berestovaya gully, which runs parallel to the Kashlagach River.

– On the Prechistovka-Novodonetskoye line, the front also began to move: some time ago, Russian troops began to advance in the area of ??the Mogila Shaitanka mound 167.7, and by the middle of the week they had captured several forest belts in the direction of Zolotaya Niva.

– The offensive was preceded by artillery preparation, including artillery attack from heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A, and UAV operators hit the Caesar self-propelled guns. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were not able to break through the defenses everywhere, and some of the assault groups retreated to their original positions.

13:41 Selidovo – Tsukurino.

Active military operations in the Selidovo area. Attack by the Russian Armed Forces north of Tsukurino. Assault by the Russian Armed Forces of the motorized rifle unit on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the area of the railway to Kurakhovo. Landing of troops. Advancement of the Russian Armed Forces more than 3 km west of Ukrainsk.

13:03 Kherson direction. Right bank.

The Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a strike with several FAB-500 aerial bombs from the UPMK on a concentration of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and equipment. Su-34Ms worked. Operational control confirms the target was hit and the enemy forces were eliminated.

12:09 A crew of a 152mm howitzer "Msta-B" of the artillery unit of the "South" group of forces destroyed an M-777 howitzer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a precise hit in the area of ??the settlement of Kurakhovo - video.

Objective control means recorded the target's defeat.

11:44 In the Ugledar area, the enemy’s positions have sharply worsened – map.

The Russian Armed Forces are not only advancing in the area of the mines and Vodyanoye, but are also pressing the enemy near the city itself, and are also developing their success in the area of the Kashlagach River, where the positions of the 58th separate mechanized brigade were broken through.

11:11 Khar'kov region.

There are reports of night strikes by our ballistic and cruise missiles on Ukrainian positions in the Volchansk area. Iskander-K OTRK and tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out strikes with cruise missiles, including Kh-69.

10:55 Kupyansk – Kruglyakovka.

Positional combat operations in the Kupyansk area. The forward position of the Russian Armed Forces came under fire from a Ukrainian drone. The Russian Armed Forces took new positions in the vicinity of Kruglyakovka.

10:15 During the past night, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using an aircraft-type UAV against targets on the territory of the Russian Federation was thwarted.

Air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 4 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the territory of the Belgorod region and 4 over the territory of the Kursk region.

09:52 Military doctors on the front lines of the fight for the lives of soldiers.

In the medical platoon of the officer with the call sign "Professor", all paramedics and doctors are equipped with special backpacks with a set of medicines to provide assistance to the wounded. This is necessary, because they bear great responsibility for the health of the soldiers.

“We have to make decisions under time constraints, and often the health and lives of a large number of wounded guys will depend on these decisions,” he said.

09:16 The battalion commander with the call sign “Yak” shared details of the capture of a fortified area of Ukrainian militants - video.

#3  I am somewhat amazed the military mind is so filtered as a liberal mind. My simple test is to mention the new laser sub Russia has just introduced. Immediate response is it is Russian propaganda. State of the art and Russia has only working system to employ. Fire underwater or in the air. With Democrats you simply mention Trump and you get similar reactions.

Big meeting in DC Saturday regarding Z's request for various things. It seems back channel contact as in Cuban missile crisis with Russia caused a pause in arrangements. Our military advised against providing missiles. Biden in a fit charged out thwarted from singing documents. Our media speaks nothing about this. Russian propaganda I guess. Big party afterwards. They love their parties.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: September 23, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 22:01 Partners have raised more than $4 billion to restore Ukraine's energy sector, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said. According to him, Germany, the Netherlands and other countries have announced new contributions in the last month alone.

21:50 The number of victims as a result of the Russian strike on Zaporozhye has risen to 22, the State Emergency Service reported.

21:42 Zelensky reported that he met with Scholz: "We talked about how to bring a fair world closer. The main thing is to maintain unity. Our Peace Formula was created precisely for this, and we held a successful first Peace Summit." In turn, Scholz said that lifting restrictions on strikes deep into Russia "is incompatible with my personal position."

21:05 Denmark has allocated 16 million euros to restore Ukraine's energy sector, the country's Climate Ministry reported. The package is one of the largest on the part of the state. It was announced during a meeting of the G7 working group on Ukraine's energy security.

20:48 Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Tehran is allegedly ready to sit down at the table with Europeans and Americans to conduct dialogue and negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine. "We have never approved of Russian aggression against Ukrainian territory," he added.

19:03 Russians have struck the Zaporizhia region and a critical infrastructure facility in Zaporizhia - according to preliminary information, two people were wounded, said the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov.

18:37 Every second ammunition at the front is of Ukrainian production. If in 2023 the Ukrainian share of ammunition was 18%, then in 2024 - 41%, said Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. He also said that this year Ukraine has increased its long-range capabilities several times. In 2024, the Defense Ministry alone contracted drones for more than UAH 21 billion and ammunition for them for another UAH 9 billion. In total, more than 1 million drones were purchased. In addition, the minister emphasized that Ukraine was the first in the world to introduce the "drone swarm" technology. Over the past year alone, more than 200 targets on enemy territory have been destroyed or damaged.

17:46 The Russian "shahed" has again flown near the Khmelnitsky NPP. According to Energoatom, the flight path indicates that Russia was probably trying to simulate an attack directly on the NPP by sharply deviating from the initial trajectory towards the plant.

17:10 In Omsk, two schoolchildren burned a helicopter at a local airbase. They were promised $20,000 for the arson, Russian media write. The schoolchildren entered the airbase on the evening of September 21, threw a bottle of Molotov cocktail at the Mi-8 helicopter and fled the scene. However, they were soon detained. The teenagers said that they received the task to burn the helicopter via Telegram, and were promised a large sum for the work - however, they were never paid. A few days ago, teenagers burned a helicopter in Noyabrsk.

16:24 According to Forbes, Russia is capable of producing over 500 "shaheeds", 40-50 ballistic and 90-115 cruise missiles per month. The Russian Federation also has a stockpile of 60 North Korean missiles and 55 Kinzhals. The Russians add one or two units to the latter every month.

15:49 Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets reported that during his visit to Odessa Oblast, he held a meeting with the families of Ukrainian defenders who are in Russian captivity or are missing. More than 400 people joined the meeting, but the ICRC representatives once again did not come, ignoring the official invitation.

15:36 Russians shelled Shakhove in Donetsk Oblast - seven people were wounded, including two children, reported OVA head Vadim Filashkin. The strike damaged 24 private homes, three administrative buildings and a social institution.

14:52 British intelligence reports that Russian troops have advanced in the Kharkov region - west of the village of Peschanoye. They now occupy a small ledge 3.5 km from the Oskol River. The invaders are probably trying to reach the eastern bank of the Oskol River in this way, to use it as a natural defensive barrier and create conditions for future operations, analysts predict.

14:45 Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has stated that it is necessary to lift restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range weapons. According to her, "the most important red line has already been crossed - this happened when the Russians entered Ukrainian territory." In her opinion, allowing Ukraine to use Western missiles to strike Russian territory does not mean escalation and will not draw Kiev's allies into the war.

14:33 Russians shelled Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast - one person was killed, three were wounded. Eight private houses were damaged, said OVA head Vadim Filashkin.

14:27 In the morning, Russians fired Tornado-S missiles and cluster munitions at the village of Stary Saltiv in the Vovchansk community of the Kharkiv region - three police officers were wounded, official vehicles were damaged, the National Police reported.

14:16 Peskov said that the Kremlin will study Zelensky’s plan if it is in official sources.

13:22 The number of victims as a result of the night strike on Zaporizhia has risen to 21, reported the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov.

12:39 Zelensky received the Golden Plate Award in the United States - an award from the American Academy of Achievement. For 60 years, it has been recognizing contributions to the development of humanity.

Zelensky also said that the next few months will be decisive: "In this war - Russia's war against Ukraine and all of you, because this is Russia's war against freedom itself - we have little time to determine what the outcome will be. And we must determine it. Not Russia, not their bloody allies. We must act quickly. We must not lose the next few months in the war, so as not to lose the next decades."

11:50 The Russian army hit a bus in the Miropol community of Sumy region with an FPV drone in the morning, two local residents were injured, OVA reported.

11:31 The number of victims as a result of airstrikes in Zaporizhia and its suburbs has risen to 17, including a 15-year-old teenager, the prosecutor's office reported.

11:25 In the morning, Russians launched another attack on Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, one person was killed, reported the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov.

11:18 The Ukrainian Armed Forces have broken through another section of the border with Russia, the press service of the 95th separate Polesie airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported. This is already the second successful operation to break through the Russian border since the beginning of the operation in the Kursk region. The paratroopers showed a video that shows the development of passages in engineering barriers, the entry of airborne assault units into enemy territory and the first battles in the border zone, where the airborne assault tankers destroyed an enemy stronghold. The brigade did not specify the details of the operation.

10:54 Zelensky's victory plan envisages providing Ukraine with security guarantees from Western countries, "similar to the mutual defense pact when joining NATO," The Times writes. In addition, the document contains a clause on international financial assistance for the restoration of the Ukrainian economy, the provision of modern weapons, and the continuation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in the Kursk region.

10:26 Biden said that he did not give Ukraine permission to use Western long-range weapons to strike Russian territory. Answering the question, the US president said briefly and categorically: "No."

09:47 Late in the evening of September 22, Russians shelled the KAB village of Sheykovka in the Izyum district, two people were injured, reported the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov. Two more people were injured the day before as a result of shelling of the urban-type settlement of Kupyansk-Uzlovaya.

09:33 Three people were killed in Donetsk Oblast as a result of Russian shelling on September 22: two in Myrnohrad and one in Novoukrainka, reported OVA head Vadim Filashkin. Another ten people in the region were injured in the past 24 hours: six in Kramatorsk, three in Slovyansk and one in Nikolaevka.

09:12 In the morning, Russians attacked an ambulance from a drone near Romashkovo, Belozersk community, Kherson region - a paramedic and a driver were injured, OVA reported. Over the previous day, as a result of Russian shelling in the region, one person was killed and seven were injured.

08:45 Russians attacked the center of Zaporizhia at night, 16 people were injured, said the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov. 13 multi-story buildings, educational institutions, and private houses were damaged. The enemy carried out at least seven airstrikes on Zaporizhia and the Zaporizhia region. The police specified that the enemy used KABs for the strikes.

08:04 Russia attacked at night with two Kh-59/69 guided air missiles and four Shahed-type attack UAVs. Air defense destroyed three drones, and the remaining air targets - one Shahed and two guided air missiles - did not reach their targets due to electronic warfare countermeasures, the Air Force reported.

07:57 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of September 23:

  • personnel - about 643,750 (+1330) people,

  • tanks - 8784 (+16),

  • combat armored vehicles - 17,252 (+30),

  • artillery systems - 18,414 (+81),

  • MLRS - 1197 (+2),

  • air defense systems - 949 (+0),

  • aircraft - 369 (+0),

  • helicopters - 328 (+0),

  • Operational-tactical level UAVs - 15,699 (+71),

  • cruise missiles - 2595 (+0),

  • ships/boats - 28 (+0),

  • submarines - 1 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tank trucks - 25,102 (+79),

  • special equipment - 3145 (+1).

07:13 Zelensky said that he began his visit to the United States with a visit to a plant in Scranton (Pennsylvania), which produces 155-mm artillery shells for Ukraine. The president also announced agreements on expanding cooperation between Pennsylvania and Zaporizhia.

02:26 As a result of the Ukrainian strike on September 21 on the 23rd arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry near the village of Oktyabrsky in the Tver region, more than 58 warehouses were destroyed, several open areas with ammunition, a railway was damaged and trains with ammunition were destroyed, American OSINT analyst MT_Anderson reported, citing satellite data.

01:38 The UN General Assembly adopted the main document of the Future Summit - the Pact for the Future, despite Russia's protest. Russia's amendments were rejected by 143 votes, and General Assembly President Philemon Young declared the Pact adopted and signed it. The document contains a list of countries' intentions to solve global problems - from military conflicts and climate change to artificial intelligence and reforming the UN and global institutions.

In particular, the section on peace and security notes that "the scourge of war is taking on new and more dangerous forms." Today, "the world is closer to a nuclear confrontation than at any time since the end of the Cold War." The pact also notes that countries commit to act "collectively to maintain and restore international peace and security on land, at sea, in space, in cyberspace, and in other emerging areas." Zelensky welcomed the adoption of the pact and stressed that a secure future is possible only if the war in Ukraine ends.

00:20 Macron said that after the war in Ukraine, it will be necessary to rethink the relations of all of Europe with Russia: "This is undoubtedly the greatest challenge of today, because our current order is incomplete and unfair. Incomplete because it was conceived at the end of the Second World War, and therefore did not have at its heart the problems that subsequently emerged and became dominant." In particular, according to the French president, "most of the countries on this planet and many of the most populous countries did not exist when the seats were allocated," so the international order in which the world lives today is "blocked."

Government Corruption
Bill Barr blasts DOJ for releasing letter of would-be Trump assassin
[NYPOST] Former US Attorney General William Barr panned the Justice Department he once ran for publicly disclosing a chilling letter from the man who allegedly attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
earlier this month.

In a court filing Monday, prosecutors released the disturbing note they claim was authored by suspect Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, as proof of his intention to kill the 45th president.

''I was dumbfounded that the DOJ made public this morning the contents of the letter that, Ryan Routh, left with an acquaintance prior to the attempted liquidation of former President Trump,'' Barr told Fox News.

Prosecutors claimed to have acquired that note — addressed ''To the World'' — from an unnamed source who found it in a box they said was delivered to them by Routh prior to the shooting last week.

Routh had further offered a bounty of ''$150,000 to whomever can complete the job.''

''The letter calls on people to 'finish the job' of killing President Trump, attempts to rouse people in incendiary terms to do so, and offers $150,000 to anyone who succeeds. There was no apparent justification for releasing this information at this stage,'' Barr went on.

Some critics have noted how authorities had declined to release the Nashville shooter's lengthy manifesto carried out by a suspect who allegedly identified as a transgender man that shot up Covenant School last year and killed six people, including three children.

Law enforcement officials have previously indicated that evidence suggests Routh didn't actually fire off shots during the security scare at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach on Sept. 15.

Prosecutors also released details in their proffer about evidence that suggests Routh traveled from Greensboro, NC, to West Palm Beach, Fla., on Aug. 14, just a month before the alleged attempt on Trump’s life.

#2  Politically Selective.

The Mentally Ill Trans School shooter manifesto still has NOT been "Officially" released.

The reason given was. It might incite other Mentally Ill Transgenders to do the same thing.

However, it seems, the NNSDP Suits had no problem with quickly releasing the Trump Shooter's manifesto, as it might assist with their Pre-Nov 5th agenda?

Why one and not the other?
LGB-Transgenderism is now one of the top 10 agenda items of the New National Socialist Democrat Party (NNSDP).

Plus, the 2nd attempted shooters' manifesto, pretty much mimics the NNSDP's campaign points and offers the next shooter $150K to get it right.

Haitian militia is reportedly forming in Springfield, Ohio Black Hebrew Israelites march through Springfield, Oh three days ago
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]
Note that the group chants a marching cadence in English, starting with “IUIC”. Haitians would chant in their French patois. Perhaps they are there to recruit their fellow Blacks from Haiti. At any rate, the YouTube video linked in the Reader Context is headlined

Israel United in Christ came to Springfield, OH! Such an exciting site to see! thank you being here!

Danyale Duncan Sep 23, 2024

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which is often wrong, identifies the Bronx-based IUIC as a branch of the Black Hebrew Israelites.

And the Jewish Telegraph Agency wrote about them at length in late 2022, blaming the Black Hebrew Israelites as a group for a series of deadly attacks on Jews in New York and New Jersey in 2019 and since.

Background from the Rantburg archives: The Black Hebrew Israelites are one of the descendant groups of the mystical African-American national separatist movement of the turn of the 19th century that called itself the Indigenous Moors, claiming that they are the actual natives of North America, not the so-called American Indians. Their congregations range from pushing reasonably normal Black self-improvement/self-sufficiency with a mystic frosting to batshit crazy, violent Black supremacist racist antisemites. Nation of Islam is another descendant of the same movement, but claiming to be the true Muslims as BHI are the true Hebrews. The Black Sovereign Citizens movement, which claims that they don’t have to pay taxes or obey local laws and regulations, are another branch — usually encountered in groups carrying unregistered guns or after moving into strangers’ homes and changing the locks. On their Washington, DC school trip Nick Sandman and his Covington Catholic classmates encountered an abusive group of BHIs, just before they were confronted by that obnoxious professional “Native American” activist.

Posse Comitatus, Grom. Federal statute generally forbids using the American military for policing — war fighting uses different skills. Their job is from the nation’s borders outward. State national guard units, which train for national disasters and riots, can be sent in, but the real answer is to unbind the hands of the police and require the prosecutors to actually prosecute and jail those arrested.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Israeli Airstrike Targets Hezbollah's Third-In-Command Ali Karaki
48 Hour Rule.
[LI] An Israeli airstrike on Monday targeted Hezbollah’s third-in-command, Ali Karaki. "Israeli security source confirms to i24NEWS that IDF strike in Beirut targeted Hezbollah’s third-in-command Ali Karaki," the Israeli TV channel reported.

Karaki, who is head of Hezbollah’s southern front, was reportedly promoted to replace Ibrahim Aqil, who, along with the entire command of the Radwan terrorist force, was eliminated last week in an Israeli airstrike.

While the IDF is still assessing the outcome of the strike, some Arab media outlets suggest that Karaki has been killed. "Sky News Arabic reported that Karaki was killed in the airstrike, which consisted of six missiles that struck the building in which he was staying," the Israeli broadcaster Arutz Sheva reported.

"Karaki is the head of Hezbollah’s so-called "Southern Front," responsible for the terror group’s military activity in south Lebanon," The Times of Israel noted. "He is a member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah’s top military body."

The Israeli news website YNET reported:

An Israeli airstrike in the Dahieh district of Beirut on Monday evening targeted Ali Karaki, the head of Hezbollah’s southern front and the group’s third-highest-ranking official, just three days after the assassination of senior Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqil and several high-profile figures in the terrorist group’s elite Radwan Force.

A security source confirmed to Reuters that Karaki was the target of the strike but said his fate remains unknown. Meanwhile, Sky News Arabia reported, citing a Lebanese source, that Karaki was killed.

In a brief statement, the Israeli military said it carried out a targeted strike in Beirut. Ynet security analyst Ron Ben-Yishai noted that Karaki and Talal Hamiyah are the only remaining senior members from Hezbollah’s old military leadership following a series of recent assassinations in Beirut.

Times of Israel:
After IDF Beirut strike, Hezbollah says senior commander Karaki is OK, moved to safe place

Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group says that senior leader Ali Karaki, the head of the southern front, is okay and has been moved to a safe place, after a security source told Reuters he was targeted in an Israeli strike on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut.

15 members of extremist community detained in Kabardino-Balkaria
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Law enforcement officers detained 15 people on suspicion of participating in an extremist community, Svetlana Petrenko, official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, reported on September 23.

"As a result of joint activities of the Investigative Committee, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Russian National Guard, the activities of members of a criminal group operating in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic were stopped. Fifteen people were detained on suspicion of committing the crime," Petrenko reported in a video message published on the agency's Telegram channel.

It is noted that a criminal case has been opened against Rezuan Kangezov, a suspect in the creation of an extremist community, under Part 1 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation of an extremist community). The other suspects are accused of participating in it (Part 2 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the Investigative Committee, in 2023, Rezuan Kangezov organized an extremist cell in the Baksan Municipal District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic to use violent methods of persuasion against an unlimited number of people, and to prepare and commit crimes against them based on religious hatred and enmity.

“On the instructions of the leader of the extremist community, its members subjected individuals whose behavior did not correspond to the radical extremist ideology of the members of the extremist community to physical violence and psychological pressure,” the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

Searches were conducted at the suspects’ residences, during which prohibited religious literature was confiscated, the department clarified.
MSN shares a Moscow Times report that adds:
Russia’s Federal Security Service
... the successor to the KGB...
(FSB) said Monday that its agents arrested 15 people in the North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, accusing them of spreading "radical ideology" via WhatsApp.

Law enforcement officials said the individuals were "involved in the public dissemination of a radical ideology based on the rejection of traditional Islamic norms and Russian laws" and were implicated in acts of violence driven by religious hatred.

All 15 suspects, identified as Russian citizens, were arrested in the village of Islamey in Kabardino-Balkaria’s Baksan district. They face charges of "creating an turban community" and "participation in an turban community," both of which carry prison sentences of up to 10 years.

FSB video published by state media showed heavily armed security agents entering a house during the night and arresting several individuals. Investigators were seen examining weapons, including pistols, knives and a shotgun, they allegedly found inside the home.

They came to kill. What the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries did in Kursk Oblast
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Kirill Velesov

[REGNUM] Almost all residents of the Kursk region who directly or indirectly encountered the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries during the invasion of the region tell of the militants' atrocities. They shot civilians, threw grenades into residential buildings and stole everything they could take away - from household appliances to awards for heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

A criminal case has been opened against Ukrainian military personnel involved in the shooting of residents of the Kursk region. This was reported on September 22 by the official Telegram channel of the military investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee.

According to the investigation, on August 8, 2024, Ukrainian militants fired from a tank and small arms at two civilian VAZ vehicles traveling along the road from the city of Lgov to the village of Pogrebki in the Sudzhansky District of the Kursk Region. A civilian was killed and two others were injured, the Investigative Committee clarified. One of the vehicles was destroyed, the other was damaged.

“During the preliminary investigation, all representatives of the armed formations of Ukraine who committed these crimes will be identified and brought to justice as provided by law,” the department added.

In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in an interview with kp.ru stated that the Ukrainian military took some of the civilians captured in the border settlements of the Kursk region outside of Russia. Their fate is currently unknown.

The diplomat also said that in the territory of Kursk Oblast captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces there are several places that look like concentration camps. One of them is presumably located in the building of a social institution in the city of Sudzha, where Ukrainian militants are holding 70 to 120 people. Zakharova noted that Russian law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the situation.

"HATRED OF THE RUSSIAN PEOPLE AT THE GENETIC LEVEL"
Ukrainian troops attacked the Kursk region on August 6. Russian troops stopped the enemy in the border areas, preventing them from advancing deeper into the territory.

The "Kursk adventure" cost the Kiev regime dearly. According to the Defense Ministry on September 22, during the military actions in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 16,000 servicemen, 126 tanks and 57 infantry fighting vehicles. Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov emphasized that the operation in the region will end with the defeat of the enemy and access to the state border.

From the first days of the attack, local residents and volunteers present in the region told of the atrocities of the attackers. A large number of testimonies were collected by the Regnum news agency.

One of the first to speak publicly about what was happening in the Kursk region was Roman Yatsenko, a resident of Sudzha. On August 6, he was in Moscow, where he worked as a security guard. When contact with his family was lost, the man went to Sudzha. He managed to get to Martynovka, a settlement five kilometers from Sudzha, by hitchhiking. There, Yatsenko met Russian soldiers. They warned him that a Ukrainian machine gunner was shooting at civilian cars. But the man still decided to break through to his family.

"When I heard the sounds of gunfire and the whistle of bullets above me, I realized that these were not ours. At that moment, I could not imagine this person, and then I learned that there were Poles and French in the Ukrainian group - not only the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Maybe it was a Pole - he could open fire on a woman with children, and on defenseless old people. They probably have a genetic hatred of the Russian people," Yatsenko said in a conversation with the editor-in-chief of the Regnum news agency Marina Akhmedova.

Yatsenko fell to the ground when he heard the shots and made his way through the forest plantation running and in single file, trying to hide from the shooter. The man managed to get to Sudzha, find his family: they took documents, food, essential items, money and tried to leave the city. According to Yatsenko, a Ukrainian militant opened fire on them with a machine gun, after which the adults and children, on his command, fell to the ground and crawled away from the shooter. The family managed to escape through the fields towards Kursk.

"KILLED MY WIFE AND UNBORN CHILD"
When a shell exploded 150 meters from his home on August 5, another resident of Sudzha, Artem Kuznetsov, realized he had to run. The family packed up very quickly — in about fifteen minutes they loaded everything they needed into the car. Their son Matvey, who was only one year and eight months old, was put in a car seat.

They left in two cars: Artyom was driving one, and his pregnant wife Nina, her mother, and Matvey were in the other. They drove a few kilometers, and the man felt as if the car was being showered with stones. A moment later, a bullet whistled past his face, a few centimeters away. Artyom realized that they were shooting at the car. He ducked, and another bullet pierced the peak of his cap.

"I saw the one who shot," Artem told IA Regnum. "And he saw me, our eyes met. And he saw Nina, everyone. We opened the windows on purpose. I looked back, Nina was driving behind me. The car rushed to the side of the road. I ran out and ran to them."

Son Matvey was covered in blood, mother-in-law was screaming. Nina was literally wheezing, blood was gushing from the wound. Artyom tore off his T-shirt, tried to make a tourniquet out of it. Nina began to weaken before our eyes, the wound was very deep. The man grabbed his wife in his arms, carried her to his car. They literally flew to the hospital in Goncharovka. The woman was carried to the operating room on a stretcher.

It was not possible to save pregnant Nina.

"A Nazi killed my wife. Killed my unborn child. Killed the love in me. Shot her. Why did they shoot her? Matvey has three metal fragments in his back. They were a couple of centimeters short of his kidney," Artem said.

The man thought for a long time about why they, the Nazis, came to kill. Probably, he supposes, because we live well: "Russian people love, Nazism came to kill love."

"THEY GET PLEASURE FROM KILLING"
Yuri Sukhorukov, a resident of the village of Guevo in the Sudzhansky District, firmly decided to leave in the first hours after the invasion. He drove around the village, urging his fellow villagers to evacuate, but many did not listen - they thought that "they would shoot and everything would end." But the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not leave. Having already left Guevo, Sukhorukov notified local residents through a group in a messenger that he was preparing an evacuation. They had to leave at night, under fire: through forests and fields, 63 people, including children and elderly women, reached the Psel River. There, Yuri's acquaintances were already waiting for them, along with several boats on which people were ferried across the river.

"For Polish mercenaries, nothing is sacred. If a Ukrainian is still thinking about whether to shoot a peaceful woman or not, they won't even bat an eyelid," Sukhorukov told Regnum.

He also said that at 7 a.m., while passing through a checkpoint, the militants shot at a car, killing "our boy Misha." They saw that a civilian car was driving, but opened fire. And on the road to Kurilovka, they shot a young girl with a small child. In response to the question "Why are they doing this?" the man suggested that they "get pleasure from killing."

"There were several cases when Ukrainian Terrorist Defense troops came to us - they were more loyal to the civilian population than the Germans, Poles and French. The Ukrainians came in and let people get away from the mercenaries, they said directly: if these guys come, we won't be able to do anything," the man said.

When the mercenaries entered, looting began: they stole cars, ransacked stores, and literally scooped out appliances from houses, including refrigerators and washing machines.

"FOR 30 YEARS THEY MADE AN ENEMY OUT OF US"
Nikolai Rylsky, a resident of the Kursk region, tried ten times to get to Sudzha to take his parents out of there. He was unable to get through.

When Nikolai turned around and headed back, he saw a burnt-out car and two people: one was helping the other. The second person was covered in blood. It was war correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny, whose car was attacked by a Ukrainian drone. Nikolai offered help, put the wounded Poddubny in his car and drove him to the hospital in Bolshesoldatskoye. It was largely thanks to Rylsky that the war correspondent survived.

A few days later, Nikolai's parents safely left Sudzha. But the whole family will remember those days for the rest of their lives.

"The bulk of those who came in were not Ukrainians, but mercenaries. The guys I spoke to heard Polish, French, English and German speech. […] My friend Sasha was taken prisoner along with his wife. They tied his hands with zip ties. His hands and feet started to turn blue, then they loosened the zip ties. They said: sit here until we leave. Then they cut the zip ties and let him go. These were guys from Odessa, Ukrainians. We don't need you, they said. And another friend of mine, they told me, had two women killed and their stomachs cut open - the Poles," Rylsky told the Regnum news agency, suggesting that they had "such manic tendencies."

Nikolai is sure that the only fair punishment for the mercenaries can be the death penalty, because they knew what they were getting into. Rylsky admits that he does not want to think that the atrocities in the Kursk region were committed by Ukrainians, although he says that they were brainwashed for 30 years - they made an enemy out of us.

" I have hatred, but only towards the leadership, the government of Ukraine. The people were brainwashed to fight against us," says Rylsky.

"THEY TRIED TO DESTROY YOUTH AND CHILDREN"
During a visit to the Bryansk region, the editor-in-chief of the Regnum news agency, Marina Akhmedova, spoke with public figures who told the stories of residents of the Kursk region who were forced to leave their homes.

According to volunteer Yulia, everyone who directly or indirectly met with the Ukrainian Armed Forces speaks of the atrocities of Ukrainian militants. One of the pensioners who managed to leave Sudzha reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered the settlement in uniform without identification marks.

At the same time, they spoke pure Russian - many old people who refused to evacuate took them for Russian soldiers.

"They thought that Russian soldiers were walking and saying: "Are there young people, children?" They [the pensioners] thought that they were our guys. They said, yes, there are more, at the end of the street. Let us feed you, give you everything. But they [the Ukrainian Armed Forces] reached the end of the street and started blowing up houses. Where there were young people. They tried to simply destroy young people and children," the volunteer reported the pensioner's story.

THEY TRAMPLED THE RUSSIAN FLAG AND STOLE THE MEDALS OF THE HERO OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR
In September, during the clearing of one of the houses in the village of Snagost in the Kursk region, servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces found the backpack of a liquidated Ukrainian soldier, which contained the stolen medals of World War II veteran Nikolai Ptashkin.

Nikolai Andreevich Ptashkin went to the front in 1943 at the age of 19, where he served in the 16th rifle division. During the war, he was wounded in the right arm, which bothered him for the rest of his life. Nikolai Andreevich died in 1987, and his wife in 2007. After his death, the veteran's son and his family lived in the house in Snagosti.

The editorial staff of the Regnum news agency found relatives of the WWII hero whose house was looted by a VSU officer. The relatives said that during the invasion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the first to enter their house were mercenaries from France and Poland, who trampled the Russian flag hanging on the house before the family's eyes.

"My uncle is Nikolai Andreevich's youngest son. He has lived in this house all his life. He is now 56 years old. After the Ukrainian Armed Forces arrived, he, his wife and 14-year-old daughter lived for two weeks under the control of the Ukrainian army. He said that the Poles and the French were the first to enter the village. At first, there were no Ukrainians at all. When they came to my uncle's house, they saw the Russian flag on the house. They took it down and started trampling on it, then laughed and threatened the family with weapons so that they would not leave the house. We persuaded my uncle to evacuate to Kursk. Two weeks later, at dawn, my uncle, his wife and daughter decided to escape," Tatyana said.

Nikolai Andreevich's son knew the area well and was able to find the shortest and safest route to Kursk.

"Early in the morning we went to the Seim River and walked along it for about five hours. The only things we had with us were our passports. I was most worried about my daughter - she is in the seventh grade, and it is unclear what would have happened to her if we had stayed in the house. For her sake, we had to take a risk. We heard that some people were shot when they tried to escape in boats. But we were saved by the fact that I am a hunter and fisherman and I know all these places well. I knew where the dams were, where the hidden paths and thickets were, and how to walk unnoticed," Nikolai told IA Regnum.

After five hours of travel through forests and rivers, the family reached the Emergencies Ministry station. Rescuers had already helped them get to Kursk.

Nikolai Ptashkin's granddaughter Tatyana still does not know what happened to their house in the village of Snagost, admitting that it was completely destroyed - there were fierce battles in the village. Now the Russian army has completely liberated the village from the invaders.

Russian Foreign Ministry: Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding up to 120 civilians captive in Sudzha, including up to 15 children

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are holding from 70 to 120 civilians in one of the social institutions in Sudzha.

'Are You Serious?' Why Descendants of SS Men Find Genocide Mentions Laughable
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Kirill Averyanov

[REGNUM] The end of September is traditionally associated with the aggravation of relations between Russia and Europe on historical grounds. This year, too, there was an incident between the foreign policy departments of Russia and Germany. More precisely, our Foreign Ministry published a post on the X network, from which it followed that the Red Army prevented the genocide of the population of Western Ukraine and Western Belarus in 1939. The German Foreign Ministry commented on this statement with only one sarcastic question: "Seriously?"
Perhaps Germany recalls the uncounted dead of the Soviet collectivization famines, including Ukraine’s Holodomor, and the destruction of the Great Purge, which aimed to wipe out the classes of intellectuals, independent farmers, and professionals, including military professionals, not to mention various ethnic groups that saw themselves as other than Russian. Then too, Germany has not forgotten the Molotov-Ribbentrop Non-Aggression Pact, by which Stalin and Hitler jointly divided Poland between them, and that Stalin waxed self-righteously furious because Hitler broke the pact by attacking Russia before the Soviet army could execute their own plan to do the same in the other direction. The two were equally murderous and evil — it’s just that the Nazis were more efficient about it... and were forced to stop when they lost the war. Whereas the Soviet Union continued its drive to conquer until the Berlin Wall in 1989, two generations later.
Judging by the logic of German diplomats, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s assertion is so ridiculous that it does not even need refutation.
To be fair, it could equally be claimed that the Nazis put a stop to Russia’s attempted class genocides in their western lands. But Germany does not offend the world by claiming it.
The current authorities in Germany, a country widely acknowledged to be responsible for crimes against humanity committed in the last century, have previously been noted for their strangely flippant attitude towards the concept of “genocide.” Recall Olaf Scholz’s remark at the Munich Security Conference in February 2022: “The idea that genocide is taking place in Donbass is, of course, ridiculous.” A more recent example is the behavior of Scholz’s wife, who burst into laughter while chatting with Emmanuel Macron’s wife at the Holocaust memorial in Berlin.

But in the case of the current ironic reaction of the German Foreign Ministry, we are not talking about a one-off excess or an unsuccessful remark, but about the manifestation of a systemic approach.

Since at least the early 2000s, the “new truth” about the beginning of World War II has become firmly established in most European countries, according to which the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, or rather, primarily the Soviet Union, are allegedly equally to blame for its outbreak.
The war would have started anyway — it was the Zeitgeist. The two big expansionist Socialisms just happened to be the ones to clash first. This is not a new truth — contemporaneous writers portrayed a world of fuel awaiting an inevitable spark. I have in my personal library two volumes written by the eminent Dutch-American historian, Hendrik Willem van Loon who addressed in Our Battle (1939) and Van Loon’s Lives (1942) the crushing feeling of approaching worldwide conflagration riding the expansion of totalitarian socialism. I commend to you, dear Reader, the very first page of Our Battle, in which Professor van Loon, his generation’s Victor Davis Hanson, writes

Nazi propaganda has already so completely spread throughout our own society that immediately the question will be raised: “Why single out Hitler? Why not attack Stalin and Mussolini, and how about Japan and Turkey?”

Because, while Stalin and Mussolini are surely no better than their German competitor, they are not quite so much of a direct menace to our own safety as that son of the late Alois Schicklgruber, Provisional Imperial and Royal Apostolic Customs Assistant of the Eleventh Class, who as Führer of the Third German Reich is able to dictate his will to the whole of the European continent and who would occupy a similar position in regard to the rest of the world if it were not for the existence of the United States of America.

The same could have been written from the perspective of one of the Eastern European nations about Stalin instead of Hitler. One understands that the Russians want desperately to be the heroes of their own story, but there is just too much contemporaneous evidence. Yes, they were the anvil against which the Nazi forces were crushed, but only because they were pushing to do the same in the opposite direction. Were it not for Stalin’s greed to conquer the world for international socialism, history might have been very different.
This point of view has become generally accepted in European historical science and is strongly supported in the mass media.

And so the “seriously?” question that came from Berlin is not surprising.

It is clear that modern Europoliticians and the Euroscience that serves them exist in their own system of coordinates, in which events are interpreted in a way that is beneficial to them, and many facts are simply hushed up or are not presented as being all that important.

Therefore, today we simply have to tell a lot of things anew, despite the fact that these facts are well known.

Let's start with the fact that the Liberation Campaign of the Red Army, which began on September 17, 1939, 16 days after Germany's treacherous attack on Poland, prevented the genocide of the Ukrainian and Belarusian peoples as part of the Second Polish Republic.
This follows a pattern of the Soviets/Russia dating back to Peter the Great, using Russian foreign policy and military means to prevent pogroms committed against Russian and Belorussian peoples. It also became a casus belli for the 1854 Crimean War which began in the Balkans. So it is also with the 2014 Civil War and the subsequent Russian invasion of Ukraine eight years later. The point to all this is that the Soviets/Russians weren't wrong about their enemy's intentions.
They were not wrong. But they ignore the log in their own eye, especially with regard to Poland and the western lands of the former Soviet Union.
In the Polish state, which acquired its borders in 1921 as a result of the Soviet-Polish war, there was no talk of political or cultural autonomy for Ukrainians and Belarusians. Representatives of these peoples could not realize themselves in Poland in almost any area.

It was precisely in opposition to the Polish authorities that the Ukrainian nationalist movement grew and strengthened, in particular the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation), for which in 1930 the Ukrainian population was subjected by the Poles to so-called pacification (pacification) - mass persecution with the use of military force. This action caused widespread condemnation by the international community and was discussed in the League of Nations.

A direct consequence of pacification was the radicalization of the Ukrainian national movement in Poland and, as a result, the events of the Volyn massacre.

The Belarusian population was also subjected to widespread infringement: in Western Belarus, all press and all educational institutions in the Belarusian language were liquidated.

In 1934, in the city of Bereza (now in the Brest region; under the Polish regime the city was called Bereza Kartuzskaya ), the Poles created a concentration camp to hold elements undesirable to the authorities.

Despite the consistent policy of assimilation of the “eastern borderlands” (as the eastern regions were called in Poland), the Poles have repeatedly acknowledged the failure of this policy.

As a result, in 1937, a plan was developed in Warsaw to resettle 6 million Poles from central Poland to Western Belarus, who were to colonize the region.

It is not surprising that the overwhelming majority of both the Ukrainian and Belarusian populations greeted the arrival of the Red Army in September 1939 with enthusiasm and greeted it as an army of liberation.

The population of many towns and cities, without waiting for the arrival of the Red Army, rose up in rebellion and independently liquidated the Polish government.

Particularly well known is the uprising in the western Belarusian town of Skidel, where the Belarusian, Jewish and Russian populations jointly drove the Poles out of the town on September 17.

In response, a punitive Polish detachment suppressed the uprising with monstrous cruelty on September 19, and dozens of people were brutally executed. Only the appearance of advanced Red Army units prevented the mass murder of Skidel residents.

But the appearance of the Red Army saved the local population not only from the Poles, but also from the German Nazis.

In the reality of 1939, the Germans reached Brest and stopped there. However, if the Red Army had not taken any action and remained on the eastern borders of Poland, the Wehrmacht would have inevitably continued to advance east and stopped behind Baranovichi, Vileika and Pinsk, that is, 30 kilometers from Minsk.

In this case, the Jewish, Belarusian and Ukrainian populations of these territories would have been subjected to inevitable repression by the Nazi regime in 1939-41.

Hundreds of thousands of people would have been physically exterminated and sent to concentration camps (this is what happened to the population that found itself under German occupation west of Brest). And in June 1941, Germany would have begun the war against the USSR from an immeasurably more advantageous position, capturing Minsk on the very first day of the war and reaching Smolensk a week later.

The appearance of Soviet troops in the western Belarusian and western Ukrainian territories cancelled these prospects.

Western Ukraine and Western Belarus, which became part of the Ukrainian SSR and the Byelorussian SSR, managed to raise their economic and cultural level many times over during the two years of Soviet power, and the indigenous population of these regions gained confidence in the future and stopped feeling like second-class citizens.

Of course, some residents of these regions were subjected to political repression by the Soviet authorities, but the number of these people was relatively small and, most importantly, under the USSR, neither Belarusians, nor Ukrainians, nor Jews were persecuted on the basis of nationality, and certainly were not subjected to genocide, whereas under both Poland and the German occupation authorities their tragedy was inevitable.

In this light, the German Foreign Ministry could, as they say, keep its ironic comments to itself. It is not for the descendants of the SS to teach the descendants of the victors of 1945 how to live.

'Ghost Ship' With 30 Bodies On Board Found Off Coast Of Senegal
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] A "ghost ship" with dozens of bodies was found off the coast of Senegal. This was stated in a statement by the country's Defense Ministry, published on September 23 by the Senego portal.

The previous evening, local fishermen spotted the boat drifting at sea about 70 kilometers from Dakar and reported it to the authorities. There were no living people on board.

“At the moment, the number of bodies is 30,” the military clarified.

Rescuers and medics were sent to the scene. It is noted that the bodies are badly decomposed, so it will be difficult to establish the identities of the deceased. The causes of death are being investigated.

Presumably, it was this ship that left the city of Mbour, located 90 kilometers south of Dakar, on August 13. On board were about 100 illegal migrants who hoped to get to Europe via the Canary Islands, notes the portal Afrik.com.

The publication recalled that two weeks ago another ship carrying migrants ran aground in the Mbour area, killing at least 39 people.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, in June a sailboat with migrants sank off the southern coast of Italy. A total of 34 people died, including eight children. There were 66 people on board, 26 of whom were children. Eleven migrants managed to escape, but they spent several days in the open sea without help.

Bill Ackman's excellent rant on X on Joe / Kamala
Bill Ackman, a poster on X I didn't follow before, posted an excellent rant on X concerning Biden, Harris and the media.

I read it in my feed and thought it was worth of quoting on Rantburg:

Let’s not forget that @POTUS Biden was the Democratic presidential candidate 63 days ago.

We were told by the administration and the media that Biden was in perfect health and that videos of him exhibiting serious deterioration were ’right wing propaganda.’

Then, threatened with the 25th amendment, on July 21st, he stepped aside to be replaced by @KamalaHarris who was complicit in the lie. She knew, and she told the American people otherwise. Her reward for keeping quiet was to become the presidential candidate without a primary or other transparent process for her selection.

The Biden lie is perhaps the greatest lie ever told to the American people by our government. And this lie was also told to us repeatedly with a bold face by the current Democratic nominee for president.

Now all of a sudden, the former most left-leaning Senator (proudly left of Bernie) and now the most left-wing politician in the country, over the last two months has become a gun-toting, shoot-the-intruder, fracking-supporting, border-wall-building candidate who began her career at McDonalds. She almost sounds like a Republican candidate for president.

How can anyone trust anything she says?

Even if you carefully watch her speak or read the transcripts of the four interviews and one debate she has done, it is nearly impossible to understand what she is saying. She has yet to answer a direct question about the economy, the border, or foreign policy.

In response to questions about specific policies, she simply repeats the same scripted stories about being a prosecutor, growing up middle class, and/or other non-sequiturs, and neither the media nor the moderators challenge these insipid, unresponsive answers.

I voted for @JoeBiden because after @realDonaldTrump’s first term, I believed the country would benefit by a more centrist candidate. Biden promised to bring the country together. And as Biden was a supposed ’one-term’ president, we were misled into believing he wouldn’t be beholden to the progressive wing of the party and could implement a moderate political agenda.

I and the American people were misled. I apologize for casting my vote for Biden. It was a big mistake.

VP Harris’s entire candidacy relies on support from an undisclosed cabal of party leaders who selected her in a private process. She didn’t get one vote in a primary. As such, she is perhaps the most beholden-to-the party candidate in history.

Her campaign is a blatant attempt to say what she needs to say in order to get elected. She is keeping her appearances unprecedentedly limited compared to any other candidate in history so that she has less surface area to be understood for who she really is and what she actually believes.

She has done four interviews and @Tim_Walz four during the last 63 days compared to 70 for Trump and @JDVance.

[See: https://axios.com/2024/09/19/harris-media-strategy-hide-election]

Ask yourself, what previous presidential candidate in history has run a campaign doing everything he or she could to avoid the media? You won’t find one. Then ask yourself, why?

VP Harris’ evasiveness is only possible here because of a complicit media which should be screaming from the rooftops about her refusal to be interviewed, but instead repeatedly excuse and praise her and her campaign.

In the nearly four years of the Biden/Harris administration, the world is up in flames with a hot war in Europe with approaching one million dead, and a growing conflagration in the Middle East. Our large and small cities are overrun with unvetted migrants with the associated impact on crime, budgets, and services, and lower income Americans cannot afford a proper meal. Our universities have become hotbeds of hate. Free speech is being squelched except for @X, one of the first likely targets, along with its proprietor
@elonmusk, of a future Harris administration. Our government spending and waste are totally out of control and I could go on and on.

I strongly encourage you to vote accordingly.
