[IsraelTimes] A 12-year-old Paleostinian boy was killed in confrontations between youths and Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, the Paleostinian health ministry says.
The Israeli military said it was checking the report.
Video from the area of Qalandia showed youths blocking a road with burning tires, with Israeli army vehicles and ambulances at the scene.
In other words, the boy’s death was suicide by soldier.
[IsraelTimes] The United States has spent a record of at least $17.9 billion on military aid to Israel since the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... began and led to escalating conflict around the Middle East, according to a report for Brown University’s Costs of War project, released on the anniversary of Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... ’ attacks on Israel.
An additional $4.86 billion has gone into stepped-up US military operations in the region since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack, researchers say in findings first provided to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named. That includes the costs of a Navy-led campaign to quell strikes on commercial shipping by Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... ’s Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... s, who claim to be carrying them out in solidarity with the fellow Iranian-backed terror group Hamas.
The financial costs were calculated by Linda J. Bilmes, a professor at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, who has assessed the full costs of US wars since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and fellow researchers William D. Hartung and Stephen Semler.
Much of the US weapons delivered in the year were munitions, from artillery shells to 2,000-pound bunker-busters and precision-guided bombs.
Expenditures range from $4 billion to replenish Israel’s Iron Dome and David’s Sling missile defense systems to cash for rifles and jet fuel, the study says.
Unlike the United States’ publicly documented military aid to Ukraine, it was impossible to get the full details of what the US has shipped Israel since last Oct. 7, so the $17.9 billion for the year is a partial figure, the researchers say. "Really, a Wild-Assed-Guess"
They cited Biden administration "efforts to hide the full amounts of aid and types of systems through bureaucratic maneuvering."

Rafael to unveil short range laser defense for ground force Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. Announced on Tuesday that it will be showcasing its latest defense capabilities at the defense AUSA exhibition October 14-16 in Washington D.C., including a new Lite Beam laser-based interception system integrated into the Trophy multitasking defense platform.
While not as much of a watershed moment as when Israel can finally deploy its Iron Beam laser defense system, the Lite Beam is still a powerful example of Israel succeeding in using layers, at least for short-range defense.
Defense sources told the Jerusalem Post that the Lite Beam’s operational capabilities have been proven, though they declined to disclose exactly when and how the IDF has used such capabilities in the field in Gaza or Lebanon.
#4
I think Lite Beam is mainly to protect tanks and personnel carriers.
I am hopeful the IDF will eventually be able to mount Iron Beam on a UAV with long air time. If it could do that it could destroy Hamas or Hezbollah or Houthi or Iran missiles in the boost phase. Seems to be impossible to me but perhaps the IDF will find a way.

[IsraelTimes] Israeli security forces thwarted a plan by jailed Hamas Nukhbabandidosholy warriors to hold riots in prisons where they are being held to mark the October 7 attacks anniversary, Channel 12 reports.
Some 1,000 security personnel raided prison cells this morning based on intel to prevent the unrest, the network says.
[KhaamaPress] The Tehrik-e-Taliban ...Arabic for students... Pakistain (TTP) has announced a five-day ceasefire in honor of the Pashtun tribal Jirga, which will take place in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, October 11. The TTP recently expressed its support for the Jirga, showing solidarity with the event.
Emboldened by the Afghan Taliban’s control over Kabul, the TTP has intensified its attacks in the past three years. However,
you can observe a lot just by watching... the group declared a temporary halt in its attacks on Pak security forces during the Jirga period out of respect for the tribal gathering.
The Pak government, however, opposed the Jirga and, in recent weeks, launched security operations against the event’s organizers in the Khyber Valley. Dozens of members from the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) were arrested as a result of these operations.
The TTP’s support for the Pashtun tribal Jirga comes as the Pak federal government recently banned the PTM, placing it on a list of prohibited organizations, which has sparked widespread opposition.
Many in Pakistain, including former Senator Afrasiab Khattak, condemned the government’s decision, labelling it a "colonial" move. Khattak argued that this decision would only strengthen the Pashtuns’ resolve in their fight for justice.
The ceasefire announced by the TTP marks a significant moment amidst ongoing tensions between the group and the Pak government.
The Jirga remains a critical event for the Pashtun community, drawing national attention to their ongoing struggles. Despite government opposition, the Pashtun movement continues to gain momentum, highlighting the deep-rooted issues of political and social justice in the region.
[KhaamaPress] Officials in Kandahar province report that 60 families were expelled from Pakistain and have entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak border.
The registration and refugee identification committee at the Anjargi camp in Kandahar stated that 60 families, consisting of 323 individuals, returned to the country through Spin Boldak over the past two days.
The same committee also mentioned that these Afghan families have received financial assistance from the relevant institutions and have been referred to aid organizations for further support.
The expulsion of Afghan refugees from Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and Pakistain has intensified recently. Iranian authorities, in recent months, have increased the deportation of undocumented Afghan migrants colonists, detaining and expelling them from the country.
Recently, restrictions against Afghan refugees in Iran have also significantly increased. A local official in Islamshahr recently announced that Afghan migrants colonists are only permitted to be employed in hard labor jobs, adding that even legal Afghan migrants colonists can only work in such jobs and are prohibited from working in food production and sales centers.
This ongoing trend of forced deportations, coupled with rising restrictions on job opportunities for Afghan refugees, highlights the growing challenges faced by displaced people from Afghanistan.
International humanitarian organizations are increasingly called upon to address these urgent needs and assist with reintegration efforts.

The 2 million are to be sent home from Iran, ed. Pakistan has a churn thingy going on — they filter across the Af-Pak border to join the teeming masses, then in a decade or two or three they’re sent back, along with the children who’ve got more education and big city polish than they would have back home.

"The Treasury Department will use all available tools at our disposal to hold Hamas and its enablers accountable, including those who seek to exploit the situation to secure additional sources of revenue."
The Treasury on Monday said: "Hamas has exploited the suffering in Gaza to solicit funds through sham and front charities that falsely claim to help civilians in Gaza," adding that as of early this year, the group may have received as much as $10 million a month through such donations. The Treasury said Hamas considers Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... to be a key source of fundraising.
Monday’s action targeted an Italia-based Hamas member the Treasury said established the sham Charity Association of Solidarity with the Paleostinian People, which it accused of helping bankroll Hamas’s military wing.
Also targeted was a senior Hamas representative in Germany and a Hamas representative in charge of the group’s activity in Austria.
Hamid Abdullah Hussein al Ahmar (al Ahmar), a Yemeni national living in Türkiye, is one of the most prominent international supporters of Hamas. He is a key member of Hamas’s once-secret investment portfolio, which at its peak managed over $500 million worth of assets enabling Hamas’s leaders to live in luxury outside the Palestinian territories despite the real humanitarian needs of the people of Gaza. Since at least 2013, Al Ahmar has also been the chairman of the Lebanon-based Hamas sham charity Al-Quds International Foundation, which OFAC designated in October 2012 for being controlled by Hamas.
OFAC is also designating the following nine entities pursuant to E.O. 13224, as amended, for being owned, controlled, or directed by, directly or indirectly, al Ahmar:

As an executive at ABSPP, Hannoun has sent money to Hamas-controlled organizations since at least 2018. He has solicited funding for Hamas with senior Hamas officials and sent at least $4 million to Hamas over a 10-year period.
Majed al-Zeer (al-Zeer) is the senior Hamas representative in Germany, who is also one of the senior Hamas members in Europe and has played a central role in the terrorist group’s European fundraising.

[IsraelTimes] IDF orders additional Lebanese villages to evacuate as thousands of soldiers are deployed to join expanding ground offensive; Hezbollah fires dozens of rockets at Israel’s north
Two Israeli reservists serving on the northern border were killed in a mortar attack, authorities announced Monday, as the military said it was sending more troops into Leb ...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... amid a swiftly widening offensive against the Hezbollah terror group.
The deaths were announced as Hezbollah continued to fire rockets at northern Israel, launching dozens of projectiles at towns in the north towns a day after it managed to breach air defenses around Haifa for a first time.
Master Sgt. (res.) Etay Azulay, 25, from the West Bank border settlement of Oranit, and Warrant Officer (res.) Aviv Magen, 43, from the central town of Herut, were both on the Israeli side of the border with Lebanon when a mortar impacted near their position Sunday evening, the Israel Defense Forces said. Azulay was killed on the spot, while Magen died in a hospital on Monday morning. Both were members of the IDF’s elite 5515 combat mobility unit. The deaths bring the IDF’s toll since launching its ground operation in Lebanon to 11.
A third reservist with them at the time was seriously maimed.
On Sunday night, the army sent a third division into Lebanon to fight alongside two divisions already operating across the border. The move adds thousands of troops to Israel’s ground offensive, with the total number of soldiers deployed inside Lebanon now likely over 10,000.
The 91st "Galilee" Regional Division, which is normally responsible for the entire Lebanon border area, joins the IDF’s 98th and 36th divisions, which have been operating in southern Lebanon since last week.
Israel’s raids in southern Lebanon have focused on Hezbollah’s "centers of gravity" in southern Lebanon villages, where troops have so far found massive amounts of weapons, military sources said. Israel has said Hezbollah was planning a large-scale October 7-style attack on northern communities to massacre and kidnap Israeli civilians.
The IDF has said the operations in southern Lebanon will expand as needed, but that it still intends for the operations to end as quickly as possible — within a few weeks. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well... there are signs that the fighting is set to expand.
On Monday morning, the IDF issued new calls to Lebanese civilians in more than two dozen villages and towns in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately and head north of the Awali River. In recent days, the military has called on dozens of locales in southern Lebanon, including some north of the Litani River, to evacuate. The IDF said it would update the civilians when it is safe to return.
The 91st Division began ground operations inside southern Lebanon Sunday with three reserve brigades: the Alexandroni and Alon infantry brigades and the 8th Armored Brigade.
The division’s 769th "Hiram" Regional Brigade — responsible for the eastern portion of the border — was continuing defensive operations, the military added.
Amid the fighting, Hezbollah launched some 135 rockets at northern Israel through Monday evening, as Israel marked the first anniversary of the October 7 Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... attack.
Some 15 rockets were fired before 7 a.m. at the Karmiel area, a city of some 50,000 approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) from the Lebanon border. Some of the rockets were intercepted and the rest struck open areas, the IDF said.
Shortly before 9 a.m., another 20 rockets were launched at the Western Galilee. At least one of the rockets landed in Kfar Vradim, causing damage to several cars. The IDF said most of the rockets launched in the attack were intercepted.
Several more rockets were fired at the Dovev area later in the morning, which all hit open land according to the IDF.
Rocket sirens also sounded in Acre, Nahariya, and suburbs of Haifa.
There were no reports of injuries in the attacks.
Aside from putting boots on the ground in southern Lebanon, the IDF has also pounded Hezbollah from the air, repeatedly hitting the Iran-backed group’s holdings near Beirut in recent days. Overnight, the IDF said it carried out strikes against Hezbollah intelligence sites and weapon depots in Beirut. Strikes were also carried out against the terror group’s sites in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley, including weapon depots, a command room, and a rocket launcher, the military added.
Later Monday evening, the IDF announced that its fighter jets had carried out a large wave of Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s against more than 120 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. The strikes, which lasted an hour, hit Hezbollah sites belonging to the terror group’s Southern Front, elite Radwan Force, rocket and missile division, and intelligence division, according to the military.
The IDF said that the Air Force has struck more than 100 Hezbollah sites in Beirut alone in the past two weeks. The IDF said the sites have included weapon depots, weapon manufacturing plants, and command centers.
The military in recent months identified Hezbollah moving weapons and manufacturing equipment from southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley to Beirut’s southern suburb, a Hezbollah stronghold known as Dahiyeh. The IDF believes that Hezbollah moved the assets in an attempt to prevent Israel from targeting them, as until recently, Israel largely refrained from strikes in Beirut.
And the suckers believed they’d be safe forever. Israel truly is blessed by God with the idiots who choose to be her enemies.
Such strikes have now become a daily occurrence.
The IDF on Monday afternoon warned Lebanese civilians against entering the sea or being on the beach in southern Lebanon, as Israel continues its offensive against Hezbollah. Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man, issued the "urgent warning" to people on vacation, beachgoers, and anyone using boats for fishing or other uses from the Awali River — located north of Sidon — southward. He said the Israeli Navy will soon begin to operate against Hezbollah in the area. "For your safety, refrain from being at the sea or on the beach from now until further notice. Being on the beach, and boat movements in the area of the Awali River line to the south, poses a threat to your life."
Amid the ongoing tensions, Britannia’s Foreign Office announced that it had withdrawn the families of its embassy staff working in Israel due to the escalation in fighting between Israel and Hezbollah and the risk of a wider regional conflict.
The foreign minister of La Belle France, which has been working with the US to broker a diplomatic solution between Israel and Hezbollah, said Monday that the French-US proposal for a ceasefire to end fighting in Lebanon remains on the table, with parties continuing to work on it.
Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said Israel’s security cannot be guaranteed with military force alone and will require a diplomatic solution.
None of them remember that first the Allies won the war against the Nazis, and only after they surrendered were the diplomats allowed to get involved.
"Military success cannot be a substitute for a political perspective," Barrot told news hounds during a visit to Israel.
Rank idiocy.
In a separate development overnight Sunday-Monday, the military said three drones launched from the east, a term used in the past by the IDF to describe attacks from Iraq, were shot down by the Israeli Air Force. In the first incident, at around 1 a.m. a drone heading toward Israel was intercepted outside of Israeli airspace, the IDF said. Hours later, shortly after 5 a.m., the military said two drones were shot down by the Israeli Air Force off the coast of Rishon Lezion. Sirens had sounded in Rishon Lezion and Palmachim amid the incident.
The Iran-backed Islamic Resistance® in Iraq took responsibility for the attack, claiming to have targeted a "military target" in Israel with a drone.
And they took a victory dance for it, too.
On Sunday, the chief of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) Gen. Michael Kurilla held an assessment with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, the Israeli military said.
"The general’s visit dealt with the security issues at hand, with an emphasis on Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and the northern front," the IDF said.
The visit came amid preparations in the IDF for a response to Iran’s attack against Israel with some 200 ballistic missiles last week, which Iran said was retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah chief His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The late, lamented satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...> The skirmishes resulted in 26 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, and — in addition to the 11 soldiers killed in the ground operation — the deaths of 22 IDF soldiers and reservists. The IDF’s toll in the ground offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon and during operations on the border stands at 11.
Two soldiers in northern Israel have been killed in a drone attack from Iraq, and there have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.
Hezbollah has named 516 members — including Nasrallah — who have been killed by Israel during the war, mostly in Lebanon but also some in Syria. Another 94 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have also been killed.
These numbers have not been consistently updated since Israel began its new offensive against Hezbollah in September, including the ground operation in which the military says at least 440 Hezbollah operatives have been killed.
[IsraelTimes] The IDF deployed a fourth division to southern Leb last night for ground operations against the Hezbollah terror group.
The military announces that its 146th Reserve Division began ground operations last night in the western sector of southern Lebanon.
The reserve division joins three standing army divisions — the 98th, 36th, and 91st — already operating in the central and eastern sectors of southern Lebanon.
The move adds thousands of troops to Israel’s ground offensive, with the total number of soldiers deployed inside Lebanon now likely over 15,000.
The operations were launched by the division with its Carmeli Reserve Infantry Brigade and Iron Fist Reserve Armored Brigade, with support from its 213th Artillery Regiment, the military says.
Israel’s ground operations in southern Lebanon have been described by the IDF as "limited, localized, and targeted raids," with the goal of demolishing Hezbollah’s infrastructure in the border area, especially in the villages adjacent to Israel, to enable residents of the north of Israel to return home.
[IsraelTimes] Jets destroy Khan Younis launchers used in day’s second barrage; army orders civilians there to evacuate beforehand while widening similar directive in northern Strip
Israeli fighter jets struck and destroyed rocket launchers in southern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... ’s Khan Younis used by the Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... terror group to attack central Israel on Monday, in the second barrage it fired as Israel marked the one-year anniversary of the October 7 onslaught.
Before striking the rocket launchers, the army ordered civilians to evacuate the area — part of a cycle Gazooks have become familiar with, as some of them have been forced to flee from shelter to shelter dozens of times throughout the war.
The Israel Defense Forces said secondary explosions were seen following the strike, indicating that additional weapons were stored in the Khan Younis area from which five rockets were launched. They impacted in Kfar Chabad, where two people were lightly injured, and Holon.
Separately, the IDF said the 215th Artillery Regiment shelled a rocket launcher used to fire five other rockets at Sderot earlier in the day.
In announcing the evacuation order before striking the rocket launchers, the IDF’s Arabic spokesperson said, "Due to Hamas’s terrorist acts, which will be met with extreme force, you must evacuate these areas immediately and move to the humanitarian area."
Decimated by war and based in an enclave largely reduced to rubble, Hamas managed to fire a handful of rockets into Israel on Monday morning as Israelis began holding commemorative ceremonies for the roughly 1,200 people killed on October 7 and the 97 still in captivity since that attack.
Triggering blaring alarm sirens, Hamas marked the anniversary at 6:30 a.m. — the hour the October 7 onslaught started — with a volley of four rockets at communities adjacent to the southern Gaza Strip. Three of the rockets were shot down by the army, while the fourth fell in open land, the Israel Defense Forces said.
The IDF said that moments before Monday morning’s rocket attack, warplanes struck sites in the Strip where Hamas operatives were preparing to launch a far larger attack on Israel.
Both of Monday’s attacks were claimed by Hamas’s armed wing, which also published a missive marking the first anniversary of what it said was the terror group’s successful penetration of Israeli communities and the killings of soldiers and "settlers," a word it uses for all Israelis.
Separately on Monday, the IDF called on Paleostinians in northern Gaza’s Beit Hanoun, Jabaliya, and Beit Lahiya to evacuate to the Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in the Strip’s south.
On Sunday, the IDF said it was expanding the size of the zone ahead of plans to operate in northern Gaza and evacuate all civilians from there.
"IDF forces are currently operating with great force in the area. For your safety, you must evacuate these areas immediately," Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man, said, publishing a map of the zones that were to be evacuated.
He said the Salah a-Din road would be open as a humanitarian corridor between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, to allow civilians to flee to southern Gaza.
Tens of thousands of Paleostinians are believed by Israel to still be in northern Gaza, among them thousands of terror operatives who survived previous IDF operations that saw Hamas’s battalions in the area dismantled.
The IDF on said Sunday that troops had encircled Jabaliya amid a new ground operation targeting efforts by Hamas to reestablish itself in northern Gaza.
The military said that the 162nd Division’s 401st and 460th armored brigades encircled the city overnight and troops were operating in the area following intelligence on Hamas operatives and infrastructure, alongside efforts by the terror group to regroup there.
Several dozen terror operatives were killed in Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s and tank shelling, according to the IDF.
"The operation will continue as long as necessary, while systematically striking and thoroughly destroying the terror infrastructure in the area," the military said.
Prior to the operation, the 162nd Division was withdrawn from Rafah and the Philadelphi Corridor — the Egypt-Gaza border area — after five months there, and handed over responsibility for the area to the IDF’s Gaza Division, the first time that the regional division was given responsibility over a large portion of the Strip.
The IDF said there was no reduction in forces in the Egypt-Gaza border area.
The operation marked the fourth push into Jabaliya by the IDF since the start of the war a year ago. The most recent round of fighting there in May was described by the IDF and some officers as "intense" and the "most violent mostly peaceful" of the war.
Amid the expanded operation, the IDF announced on Sunday that it was preparing to evacuate civilians from the entire north of Gaza, and would increase the size of the Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in the southern Strip.
The zone, where the vast majority of the Gazook population currently resides, is where most humanitarian aid is being delivered. There are also field hospitals there.
The military also said it was opening up two evacuation routes for Paleostinians — along the Salah a-Din road and the coastal road. Aid groups have warned against repeated displacement of already severely malnourished Paleostinians.
The preparations for the evacuation of the northern part of the coastal enclave came just a day after the IDF called on Paleostinian civilians in parts of the central Gaza Strip to move to the humanitarian zones, again squeezing many of the Strip’s two million people into a smaller zone in the south.
The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says more than 41,000 people in the Strip have been killed or are presumed dead in the fighting there so far, though the toll cannot be verified and does not differentiate between civilians and fighters. Israel says it has killed some 17,000 combatants in battle as of August and another 1,000 holy warriors inside Israel on October 7.
Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the Strip stands at 348.
[IsraelTimes] Greg Landsman says he and his family had to secure police escort to enter and exit safely after being harassed by demonstrators on eve of Oct. 7 attack
Masked pro-Paleostinian demonstrators escalated their harassment of a Jewish congressman on the eve of Monday’s anniversary of the October 7 attack by Hamas ..one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,... , pitching an encampment outside Ohio Democratic Representative Greg Landsman ’s Cincinnati residence.
Landsman said Monday that the protesters arrived outside his home early Sunday. By evening, they set up tents, cots and sleeping bags in the road and spent the night harassing him and his family members, forcing them to secure a police escort in order to enter and exit safely, the congressman said.
"On the eve of the one-year anniversary of the October 7th terror attacks, when Jews were brutally murdered and kidnapped, these people came to the home of a Jewish family at night, dressed in all black and fully masked," Landsman said in a statement. He said that he and his daughter would be forced to navigate the encampment in order to attend an October 7 service later Monday.
The group Midwest Direct Action 4 Pali! shared a video of the demonstration on Instagram. The video showed masked participants in black marching down the street in front of Landsman’s home. Their faces were obscured as they carried white bundles that resembled shrouded bodies and brandished banners representing the numbers in the corpse count. The group remained on site Monday, Landman’s office said.

The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... ," the group said in its post. "We mark in solemn vigil that we will not rest until the genocide is over and Paleostine is free."
Mike Madanat, a front man for the group, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that it’s unclear how long they would remain at Landsman’s home and that they have no intention of leaving anytime soon. Madanat noted that these types of decisions are something they work out "day to day." He said the activists involved are members of various groups but are all "Cincinnati taxpayers" who have joined this action due to the Democrat being "silent to our calls, post cards and attendance in town halls."
Madanat said the activists realize they are in a residential community and are doing everything they can to respect Landsman’s neighbors and the area, including by speaking daily with local police and residents to ensure their actions remain legal.
Straight up taqiya.
"This is not and never been something to do with religion," Madanat said. "It is strictly about the corpse count," the congressman’s "support of that, the violence and the displacement."
It’s not the first time Landsman and his district have been targeted since the conflict began. Just a month into the conflict, protestors placed a poster outside a building near Landsman’s district office with his photo and the phrase "This Ken supports genocide," alongside other inflammatory language.
In July, Landsman toured the Covedale Cemetery Complex in Cincinnati, where 176 Jewish gravestones had been toppled.
Back in June, Landsman was one of 62 Democrats to join House Republicans in backing an amendment to restrict the State Department from citing the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry’s statistics on the death toll.
The Buckeye State Democrat has faced grief from anti-Israel agitators before.
In November 2023, demonstrators put up a poster on a building near his district office with the message, “This Ken supports genocide” over an image of his face — in the style of promotions for the “Barbie” movie.
Landsman later responded to his tormenters, saying they “vandalized the wrong building,” having targeted a non-profit group for women struggling with addiction and facing domestic violence.
Related: Possibly this is Mr. Madanat. He seems like perfect Antifa/Black Bloc material, and he is based in Cincinnati, but more research is needed.
[IsraelTimes] Speaking from Qatar, senior terror leader warns of ‘ticking time bomb’ in Mideast ‘as long as the occupation exists’; Hamas military spox hails ‘successful’ Oct. 7 attack, ‘humiliating defeat’ of IDF
Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... leader Khaled Mashaal said the Paleostinian terror group would rise "like a phoenix" from the ashes despite heavy losses during a year of war with Israel, and that it continues to recruit fighters and manufacture weapons.
One year after the devastating Hamas attack that triggered the war, the Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... -based Mashaal framed the conflict with Israel as part of a broader narrative spanning 76 years, dating back to what Paleostinians call the "Nakba" or "catastrophe," of the Jewish state’s founding in 1948.
"Paleostinian history is made of cycles," Mashaal, 68, a senior Hamas figure under overall leader Yahya Sinwar, told Rooters in an interview.
"We go through phases where we lose deaders (victims) and we lose part of our military capabilities, but then the Paleostinian spirit rises again, like the phoenix, thanks to God."
Mashaal, who survived an Israeli liquidation attempt in 1997 after he was injected with poison and was overall Hamas leader from 1996-2017, said the Islamist terror group was still able to mount ambushes against Israeli troops.
Hamas also fired four missiles at central Israel on Monday morning, the anniversary of the October 7 atrocities, in which Paleostinian forces of Evil killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and seized 251 hostages.
"We lost part of our ammunition and weapons, but Hamas is still recruiting young men and continues to manufacture a significant portion of its ammunition and weapons," said Mashaal, without providing details.
Oh? Do go on.
Mashaal remains influential in Hamas because he has played a crucial role in its leadership for almost three decades, and is widely seen now as its diplomatic face. His comments appear intended as a signal that the terrorist group will fight on whatever its losses, Middle East analysts said.
"Overall I would say (Hamas is) alive and kicking still and ... will probably come back at some point in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... ," said Joost R. Hiltermann, Middle East and North Africa Program Director of the International Crisis Group. He said Israel had not spelled out a plan for Gaza when the war ends, and this could allow Hamas to re-establish itself although perhaps not with such strength or in the same form.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office declined comment on Mashaal’s remarks.
"As long as the occupation exists, the region remains a ticking time bomb," Mashaal warned.
Also Monday, the front man of the Hamas’s military wing, known only as Abu Obeida, gave a speech praising the attack the terror group carried out one year ago, and the unity of the fronts opened by Iran-backed proxy organizations across the Middle East against Israel over the past 12 months. He further called for "military, financial and logistical support" as well as media campaigns against Israel.
And was he standing in front of a cheering crowd in the fresh air and sunshine when he spoke, or was he hiding in a dank hole in the ground somewhere, surrounded by 10/7 hostages and praying that the Israelis weren’t already on their way with their robots and their dogs?
Abu Obeida also discussed the hostages still in Gaza, and said that it would be "unreasonable" for Hamas to kill them, but that dozens of them may be held in captivity for a long time and may never be returned.
That also is unreasonable. They have to be fed for no return, if they aren’t traded for something, and they’re only useful as human shields until suddenly they aren’t.
"The fate of the hostages is tied to the actions of their government," Abu Obeida said. "The longer [the military operation in Gaza] persists, the greater the risk to the hostages."
Abu Obeida boasted that October 7 was "the most professional and successful commando operation in the modern era,"
…not at all professional, no — and given what Gaza looks like now, and the number of dead and maimed Hamasniks, not any kind of success, either…
and added that it inflicted a "humiliating defeat" on the IDF. He made the baseless allegation that it was a "preemptive strike" to avert a major operation planned by Israel against Hamas in Gaza.
It rather looks like Israel pulled off a major operation against Hamas thereafter. You’re batting a perfect goose egg, bro.
The front man claimed that October 7 was a response to alleged Israeli violations at the Temple Mount compound in Jerusalem, the expansion of settlements, abuses against Paleostinian security prisoners, and the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
And yet Israel has even tighter control of the Temple Mount/Al Aqsa, there are many more Palestinian security prisoners, and the blockade of Gaza is even tighter. Your win is looking awfully Pyrrhic.
He addressed Hezbollah, saying: "We are confident in your steadfastness and courage in inflicting heavy losses on the forces of the Zionist enemy, as the martyr His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The late, lamented satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...> promised."
Forty-one thousand dead Gazans vs a couple hundred dead Israelis. I know y’all want to die for your god but this level of lopsided suggests your god doesn’t like you at all.
The terror leader also mentioned Maher al-Jazi, the Jordanian citizen who carried out a shooting attack at the Allenby Bridge Crossing on September 8 in which three Israeli citizens were killed, saying that he opened an "authentic Jordanian front" in addition to the existing ones.
One example does not a front make.
Abu Obeida lashed at the US for supporting Israel, and claimed that Islamist terror operatives in the Gaza Strip, from Hamas and other factions, "persist in their steadfastness and their heroic fighting in every inch of the Strip."
True….
Commenting on the recent killing of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, Abu Obeida said that "the policy of liquidations of our leaders is a good outcome, a sign of victory for us, and a source of regret and disappointment for the aggressors."
I’m pretty sure Israel doesn’t regret those deaths one bit.
"A leader is succeeded by 10, and a fighter by a thousand," he added. "This land produces resistance fighters as it produces olives."

Kind of interesting from Britannica:
What is the phoenix bird in the Quran?
In Islamic mythology the phoenix was identified with the ʿanqāʾ (Persian: sīmorgh), a huge mysterious bird (probably a heron) that was originally created by God with all perfections but thereafter became a plague and was killed.

Fyi Qatar to buy a quarter of Virgin Airways, Australia’s budget carrier.

Mashaal, who survived an Israeli liquidation attempt in 1997 after he was injected with poison
Beyond that, Israel has lots of people to kill, so perhaps it isn’t yet his turn, or perhaps they don’t want him to die on Qatari soil for some reason.

What is the point of having a security ally in the ME that is your absolute worst enemy trying to destroy your (and my) societies from within
They want us taken over by sharia courts that is their goal
Why does State Dept think it can manipulate and use them?! They are putting us all in danger. You cannot keep this enemy close. Nuke them! They want to poison the entire planet with their horrible religious ideology.
They and the Saudis are playing us like a cheap violin! It is Al Jazeera owned by Qatar / muslim brotherhood that pushes the mass migration propaganda like baby aylan - remember that?

Now we know what the Israelis went after at that Iranian factory building in this story from yesterday. What odds the trucks were carrying weapons for Hizbollah instead of the listed aid supplies?
[Rudaw] A suspected Israeli Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... on Sunday struck aid trucks loaded with foods and supplies bound for refugees from Leb ...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... in Syria’s central Homs province, injuring three people, a war monitor reported.
"Israeli airstrikes attacked three trucks loaded with food and medical supplies at an Iranian car factory in Hasba’a industrial area in southern Homs, injuring three members of the relief teams," the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
The convoy was "coming from Iraq to deliver humanitarian aid to the Lebanese affected by the Israeli airstrikes," according to SOHR.
The Iraqi Red Islamic Thingy Society told Rudaw on Saturday that it has been providing humanitarian aid to Lebanon, including tons of food, blankets, and medicine, through air and ground since the latest conflict began two weeks ago.
SOHR, which relies on a network of local sources, reported that 150 trucks entered Syria from Iraq on Friday through the al-Bukamal - al-Qaam border crossing.
On Friday, the Damascus-Beirut road was put out of service following Israeli airstrikes on both sides of the Syria-Lebaon border.
The UN Refugee Agency in an update on Thursday described the crossing as "the primary entry point for most of the Syrian and Lebanese families crossing into Syria."
This comes amid a recent escalation of Israeli operations in Lebanon targeting the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.
According to data compiled by SOHR, about 200 Syrian nationals were killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes in Syria and Lebanon in September.
Since the conflict began, 1.2 million people, nearly a quarter of the Lebanese population, have been displaced, Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Wednesday.
The United Nations ...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly... on Monday, citing Lebanese officials, reported that more than 1,600 people have been killed and 8,000 maimed in Lebanon by Israeli bombardments since October 2023.
[Rudaw] A number of Israeli airstrikes on Sunday targeted “several military sites” in central Syria, causing material damage, state media reported, as regional tensions intensify against the backdrop of the Israel-Gaza war.
“At around 8:05 pm today, the Israeli enemy launched an air aggression from the direction of northern Lebanon, targeting a number of military sites in the central region,” Syria’s state-run SANA news agency reported, citing a military source. SANA said the strikes caused material damage.
Israel has recently intensified its strikes on Syria, targeting warehouses of the Syrian army and Iran-backed militia positions across the country.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based war monitor, reported that the strikes targeted three Syrian army sites in the central Homs and Hama provinces.
[Rudaw] An Iran-backed Iraqi armed group said on Sunday that Israel may launch “limited” attacks on Iraq but the strikes will differ from those against Lebanon, amid fears of a wider regional spillover against the backdrop of the Israel-Gaza war.
“Israel may attack Iraq, however the attacks will be limited and different from those in Lebanon because Iraq’s situation, nature, and geography are different,” Kadhim al-Fartusi, spokesperson for the Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, part of the government-linked but Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, told Rudaw.
The IRI being the name the PMF puts on, false-nose-and-mustache style, when shooting missiles in the general direction of Israel. They take it off again immediately, of course, because false mustaches are itchy.
Fartusi said that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq does not speak on behalf of the Iraqi government and is not coordinating with it, but “represents the people and is the voice and will of the people.”
Since the outbreak of the Israel-Gaza war a year ago, Baghdad has struggled to keep the delicate balance between maintaining relations with pro-Iran militias and keeping them at bay, and protecting the diplomatic and military interests of Western countries, particularly the United States.
“We are in the face of a war, a historic war, one fought with pride and honor, reflecting the battles of glory and heroism. Whatever the cost for Iraq, it does not cause concern, and it should not be based on mere political or diplomatic calculations,” Fartusi stressed, adding that the Muslim world is under “barbaric attack.”
“Iraq must act and take the initiative before events escalate into a war, for which it is unprepared,” he said.
The Washington Institute think tank in 2021 called Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada “a splinter of Kataib Hezbollah” - another pro-Iran Shiite militia group - that works under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Both groups are part of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a network of shadow Iraqi militia groups backed by Iran that has launched hundreds of rocket and drone strikes against US military installations in Iraq in retaliation for Washington’s support for Israel in its war against Gaza.
Abu Alaa al-Walaei, secretary general of Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, said in a statement on Monday that Iraq has become the “first support front” for Lebanon and Gaza, on the first anniversary of the war.
You go ahead and pretend you're important, dear. It won’t make any difference, but you’ll feel better about yourself.
He accused regional powers Saudi Arabia and the UAE of providing “financial cover” for the bombardment of Gaza.
“These sponsoring regimes are in the circle of direct responsibility for the innocent blood that is being shed and it will not make them immune from punishment,” Walaei said, referring to Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.
What innocent blood? Hamas just admitted that 80% of the 41,000 they say Israel killed are Hamasniks and their families. And the other 20% are unadmitted human shields, so international law says Hamas owns responsibility for that blood, too.
An Israeli airstrike in southern Beirut late last month killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, marking a significant escalation and greatly inflaming tensions between Israel and neighboring Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq - countries where Iran’s “axis of resistance” has considerable sway.
Meh. Maybe the whole axis will have a mass stroke from the tension and fall over dead.
The conflict in Gaza has intensified since October 7 of last year, when Palestinian Hamas militants launched a large-scale incursion into southern Israel - killing more than 1,170 people, according to Israeli figures. Israel responded with a massive ongoing offensive in Gaza, killing over 40,000 people, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
Israel has also escalated its strikes in Lebanon and parts of Syria over the past year, targeting Hezbollah and Iranian commanders.
With even more to come. Enjoy your increasing tension.
On Tuesday, Iran launched around 180 ballistic missiles toward Israel.
…none of which accomplished anything of note. How mortifying for Iran.
The IRGC said the attack was in response to the killing of Hezbollah secretary general Nasrallah, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, and IRGC commander Abbad Nilforoushan.
On Sunday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani called on world leaders to intensify their efforts to spare the Middle East from a wider conflict.
Naim Kassem, Nasrallah’s former deputy, admitted Hezbollah’s military distress by calling for an unconditional ceasefire. He demanded Israel halt its fire first, with details to be discussed later— a move… pic.twitter.com/CDvMpAP5xB
Taqiya. It’s not unconditional if he requires Israel to stop first. I’ll believe him when all his fighters first put down their weapons, strip down to their skivvies, and walk out in the open with their hands in the air. Still, it’s a sign that he thinks open deceit has become necessary.

Almost like the server is turned off or unplugged from the net.
I know it has become "The Badanov Channel", but it's a bit much. I really want to go back to the pre-Badanov Channel days, where we can discuss a wide range of subjects.
Can this be made possible? BTW, clicking on the headline will take you to what is supposed to be the O Club.

Repairing the O Club glitches is in the queue, Seeking cure. Something about it being caught up in the regular back-ups when it ought not be.
As I understand it — and if course I don’t, really — the change-over from Fred’s server to badanov’s, on top of the program upgrade, is turning out to be somewhat more complex than planned — as such things always are — and then there are the security upgrades that had to be done earlier than planned because of the idiots in China or somewhere, who chose that week this summer to become feistier than usual. It was all hands on deck for hours at a time at one point, deleting spam comments in the Burg while Fred and badanov pulled off some sort of black box magic in the code. But apparently the bad guys are very sorry they tried — whatever that means — and we haven’t seen anything like it since.
So it will get done, and I’m sure your comment has moved it up the priority list.

As I have said before the oclub is not accessible between 15 minutes and 35 minutes after each even numbered hour.
The URL you should be using it either wheelus.1dogstar.net or officersclub.1dogstar.net.
the o-club url was s'posed to redirect to the oclub, for your convenience.
Right now, trying to work through the renewal issues, my firewall is so good it apparently is blocking renewal attempts, and when I tried to fix it, the backup server became locked up.
[MYRGV] United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement contract employee was arrested for allegedly transporting 39 people illegally present in the country utilizing an All Valley Charters bus Friday, according to a criminal complaint.
Nancy Fernandez Luna, born in 1989, and the driver, Juan Torres Ayala, of Mexico, who was born in 1982, are both charged with transporting individuals illegally present in the U.S. from McAllen to Falfurrias.
On Friday, a white Prevost bus registered to All Valley Charters, LLC., entered the Falfurrias checkpoint where Fernandez told Border Patrol agents she was a government contract employee for MVM, a government contract transport company, the complaint said.
At the primary inspection area, Fernandez stated she works with ICE and that she escorts undocumented people northbound and provided her ICE personal identification verification contracting card as proof of her authority, according to the complaint.
During a secondary inspection, Fernandez advised that she was transporting juveniles who were all COVID positive and then, as agents were contacting the Centralized Processing Center regarding the validity of the bus, the bus departed.
"Agents conducted a traffic stop on the bus and instructed it to return to secondary inspection," the complaint said.
Agents then requested the manifest and found inconsistencies such as not all the occupants of the bus being juveniles.
The Central Processing Center then advised the agents that they had no transport buses currently operating.
During an interview with authorities, Torres stated he knew all 39 individuals were illegally present in the country and were being transported illegally. He added he was going to be paid $1,800 for the trip, had picked up the bus rental and knew that the manifest Fernandez produced was fraudulent.
Two of the individuals being transported told authorities that they were provided with gray hoodies and medical masks to wear when they approached the Falfurrias checkpoint. The two stated that Fernandez told them to act asleep.
Both Fernandez and Torres were scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nadia S. Medrano in McAllen federal court for their preliminary examinations and detention hearing Tuesday morning.
[GatewayPundit] Shots were fired outside of a Texas church Sunday after a member of a church security team opened fire on what was believed to be a threat.
The Burnet County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that it responded to the Church at the Epicenter at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
The post said a man called 911, asked for police and hung up.
"Upon the arrival of law enforcement, it became clear that shots had been fired, and that all of them came from a member of the church’s volunteer safety team," the post said.
The post said the church’s safety team member told police "he confronted 2 suspicious males outside the church, one of whom presented a rifle."
"The safety team member fired multiple rounds causing both males to enter a white minivan and flee the scene," the post read.
Police said the men have dark skin and wore white clothes and headgear, according to KEYE-TV.
They should be considered armed and dangerous.
Burnet County Sheriff Calvin Boyd said no one was hurt, according to KXAN-TV.
"The [security] team member actually shot at the subjects, and they both got in the vehicle," Boyd said. "We don’t have any evidence of anybody being injured, and we haven’t been able to locate the vehicle."
Kyle Byrd, who leads the church, noted on Facebook that the incident spawned an outpouring of support for the church.
"Our hearts are touched, our families are encouraged, and our resolve is stronger than ever to be the fullness of what God planted us in this area to be ... a Kingdom Center that covers the Heart of Texas, its churches, their leaders, their families and all of our friends who we love dearly & believe in deeply," he wrote.
"We Praise the Lord, and we rejoice in the sharing of His sufferings. Let the Gospel of Christ and Him crucified shout louder than the opposition, and may Jesus receive His full reward! Blessings!"
The sheriff’s office said it is working with multiple agencies to investigate the incident.
After the incident, Lampasas police said they boosted patrols around churches, according to KWTX-TV.
[KXAN] A 45-year-old man was arrested after allegedly making a false report surrounding a Sunday incident at a church in Burnet, Burnet County Sheriff Calvin Boyd said during a media briefing on Monday.
On Sunday, BCSO was searching for two suspects who were outside the church, and a safety team member said he confronted them both before they got into a white minivan and drove away northbound on U.S. 281, Boyd said. However, a thorough investigation into the incident found the man lied to law enforcement and others about the incident, Boyd said.
The safety team member allegedly fired multiple rounds, which he said caused both men to get into the minivan, Boyd said. He said there was never a van, nor were there two men.
“There were no hostile actions taken or directed at the church by any persons, and no weapons brandished towards the church,” Boyd said during the briefing. “At no time was the safety of the congregation in jeopardy.”
Boyd identified the man as Jacob Wayne Tarver, of Burnet County. He was charged with a false report to induce an emergency response, tampering with/fabricating physical evidence and deadly conduct. He remained in the Burnet County Jail Monday, Boyd said.
“Rumors and speculation surrounding this case have only served to cause fear, mistrust and animosity within the community,” Boyd said. “This falsehood can only be counteracted by the widespread announcement of the truth.”
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the incident on Sunday, including helicopters looking for the white van, he said.
“We even heard from the White House,” Boyd said. “This really gets everybody’s attention now. It was a big deal, and it was a real waste of assets.”
He said Tarver did not confess until Monday morning after he was questioned by the Texas Rangers. Yeah, that'll leave a mark.
[ZeroHedge] The pilots of what appears to be an unmarked Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter generated a massive downwash, also known as rotor wash, that sent tents and aid flying in all directions at a volunteer supply zone operated by private citizens in western North Carolina.
This action by the helicopter pilots is up for debate, with many on X believing this was an intentional act of sabotage by the federal government.
There are no official statements by local, state, or federal governments about the incident. Flight tracking data shows that the Black Hawk is military-owned.

[X] The Democrat wife of Special Counsel Jack Smith investigating Trump makes Soros-backed films inclg hagiography about Michelle Obama, while Smith's late mother-in-law was a George Soros Senior Justice Fellow at Open Society Foundation, federal tax and other records reveal
[JustTheNews] Since Hurricane Helene first came ashore on Sept. 26, more than 230 lives have been lost across six different Southeastern states, with many still remaining missing.
[LawAndCrime] Months after Elon Musk’s X Corp. urged the justices of the U.S. Supreme Court to find that special counsel Jack Smith unlawfully forced the social media microblogging site formerly known as Twitter to hand over evidence of former Donald Trump’s “private communications” without the former president’s knowledge of the Jan. 6 probe-related action, the high court on Monday refused to take up the case and offered no explanation for the denial.
Within the 50-page orders list and a section cataloguing the cases denied certiorari was X Corp. v. United States, a now failed petition that was brought in late May. As Law&Crime reported at the time, X and Musk had argued that Smith orchestrated an “unprecedented end-run around executive privilege” and the First Amendment to keep Trump unaware — through a 180-day nondisclosure order — of a warrant seeking private messages his @realDonaldTrump account sent and received.
The petition from X asked the justices to answer two questions:
1. Whether an electronic communications service provider can be compelled to produce potentially privileged user communications before adjudication of the provider’s First Amendment challenge to a nondisclosure order that prohibits it from notifying the user and before the user had notice and an opportunity to assert privilege, including executive privilege.
2. Whether the First Amendment permits gagging a provider in a highly public investigation where the government does not (a) demonstrate that disclosure would jeopardize the investigation’s integrity; or (b) dis- prove the workability of a less-restrictive alternative, such as disclosure to a representative designated by a former President to assert executive privilege on his behalf.
The justices confirmed Monday that they will answer neither of these questions.
“The first claim misapprehends the requirements of the SCA and the First Amendment; erroneously seeks to inject unfounded executive-privilege claims into its argument; and wrongly asserts a circuit conflict. The second claim presents a factbound and meritless objection to the ruling of both courts below upholding the nondisclosure order,” the government said. “Even if the issues petitioner raises otherwise warranted review, this case would not be an appropriate vehicle: the underlying dispute is moot and no executive-privilege issue actually existed in this case. If review of the underlying legal issues were ever warranted, the Court should await a live case in which the issues are concretely presented. The petition for a writ of certiorari should therefore be denied.”

[X] This statement from former Israeli Air Force General Amos Yadlin underscores just how high the stakes are as Israel prepares to respond to Iran’s latest provocations. When he says the response will be "something that has never been seen in the Middle East," it signals the unprecedented scale and precision of what may come. Israel, with one of the most advanced air forces and military capabilities in the world, is clearly ready to demonstrate its strength, especially against Iran’s escalating threats.
Iran has continually acted as a destabilizing force in the region through proxy groups and direct attacks. For Israel, this isn’t just about retaliation; it’s about delivering a decisive response that will serve as a clear warning to those who believe they can threaten Israel’s sovereignty and safety without consequence. The international community should be aware of how serious the situation has become.
As Israel prepares to act, allies like the U.S. should offer essential support, especially with intelligence and technological aid, but avoid direct involvement. Israel has the capability and resolve to carry out this operation and make it clear that any aggression will be met with unmatched strength. This upcoming response will likely redefine what deterrence looks like in the Middle East, sending a message that Israel will not stand by while its security is under threat.

[JustTheNews] Both Republicans and Democrats signed off on a budget deal earlier this year that increased funding for FEMA’s immigration programs that are now under scrutiny as the agency faces crisis over weak hurricane response.
In the midst of the last major budget crisis in Washington, Democrats diverted money and the legal authority to put the nation’s disaster relief agency into the business of caring for the millions of illegal immigrants who crossed the border on the Biden-Harris administration’s watch. And now both parties seem to be trying to obfuscate the truth.
White House spokeswoman Karine-Jean Pierre took the lead in trying to suggest it was a "conspiracy theory" to suggest the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was using its resources to aid illegal aliens. Republicans countered with surprise and shock that FEMA had routed $640.9 million in grants to nonprofits aiding immigrants, many of whom have crossed into the U.S. illegally.
But the truth is both parties signed off on a budget deal earlier this year that increased funding for the new mission authorized in 2023 for FEMA, which is now reeling from a double-barreled hurricane crisis that has led to frustration over alleged missteps by the agency as millions of stranded and needy Americans in the Southeast await help.
“FEMA, as well as this whole Biden administration has is here to protect Americans, our citizens, and hurricane Helene has put a tremendous burden on us, but, get this, follow these funds that have been directed at anything but Americans: $110 million in FEMA funds went to the emergency food and shelter program to assist migrants,” Congressman Ralph Norman, R-S.C., told the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show Monday.
Norman partly blamed the broken budget process in Congress for giving funds to FEMA for immigrants rather than American citizens suffering from a disaster.
“If we don't get back to regular order, John, then there's no hope for ever having a fiscal sanity plan in place,” he said. "They, the Democrats, play us like a drum waiting to the end of the year."
FEMA has disputed the Republican characterizations in recent days that disaster relief money was diverted to fund illegal immigrants, instead pointing out that Congress appropriated funding for the immigrant programs separately during the budget process.
"This is false. No money is being diverted from disaster response needs. FEMA’s disaster response efforts and individual assistance is funded through the Disaster Relief Fund, which is a dedicated fund for disaster efforts. Disaster Relief Fund money has not been diverted to other, non-disaster related efforts,” FEMA said in its Hurricane Helene Frequently Asked Questions page.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also denied that FEMA resources were going to illegal migrants at a press conference last week despite her own statements at the podium two years earlier touting the opposite.
“Funding is also available through FEMA’s Emergency Food and Shelter program to eligible local governments and not-for-profit organizations upon request to support humanitarian relief for migrants,” Jean-Pierre said of FEMA efforts to alleviate the immigration crisis.
A Democrat-run Congress that year later created the Shelter and Services Program (SSP) was to replace a similar program formerly run by DHS, which was directed to transfer $800 million of its appropriations in 2023 to the emergency management department. Though FEMA is a subagency of DHS, it represented a transfer of the core responsibility for illegal and legal immigrant support to the agency dedicated to disaster relief.
The funding was to stand up the new program which would “support sheltering and related activities provided by non-Federal entities, including facility improvements and construction, in support of relieving overcrowding in short-term holding facilities of U.S. Customs and Border Protection,” according to the Congressional Research Service.
By 2024, the program was well established at the agency when Republicans and Democrats alike voted to fund it to the tune of $650 million with the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024—a minibus bill passed by the House and Senate in March, both with significant Republican support, and sent to President Joe Biden’s desk.
Now, Republicans have placed the program under a spotlight after widespread flooding and damage from Hurricane Helene left several southeastern regions devastated and tens of thousands of citizens without basic resources. But, so far, few who originally supported the bill have owned up to their role in passing the budget stopgaps last year funding the very programs being placed under the spotlight.
A group of Senators who did not vote for the funding measure led by James Lankford of Oklahoma, wrote a letter to President Biden last week raising concerns about how FEMA’s immigration responsibilities could be impacting its disaster readiness.
“FEMA’s continued entanglement in DHS’s efforts to respond to the border crisis could impact its readiness and emergency response mission,” a group of Republican lawmakers wrote to Biden last week. “Rather than ensuring FEMA is ready to respond to hurricanes and other emergencies, FEMA has been pulled into a border crisis mission.”
“FEMA’s mission is ‘helping people before, during, and after disasters,’ not helping DHS clean up the impact of your Administration’s reckless border policies,” they added.
The letter was also signed by GOP Sens. Josh Hawley of Missouri, Rand Paul of Kentucky, and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin.
Frustration started growing among conservatives after FEMA announced that it did not have enough funds to get through the remainder of hurricane season and amid allegations that the agency was slowing down or outright obstructing private relief efforts in flood-stricken Appalachia.
“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have. We are expecting another hurricane hitting,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said last week. “FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season.”
Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., said after Mayorkas’ announcement that whistleblowers approached his office after the hurricane and claimed that FEMA misappropriated funds related to disaster relief. The agency vehemently denied those allegations. In a letter last week, Gaetz claimed the whistleblowers told him that FEMA has serious mismanagement issues and used taxpayer funds marked for disaster relief on non-disaster-relief programs that housed and supported illegal immigrants on the country's southern border.
Additionally, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who is sponsoring private efforts to deliver aid to hurricane victims, criticized the federal response to Hurricane Helene, claiming that the government was blocking flights trying to bring Starlink internet connection devices and other aid to hurricane victims, after a source told Musk the airspace was shut down.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg disputed these reports and said “no one is shutting down the airspace and FAA doesn’t block legitimate rescue and recovery flights,” Just the News reported.

Where is heaven going to find enough virgins?
Little known fact, everybody in heaven is a virgin, in that everybody does not have any sexual or reproductive organs.
So that means men and women will all be the same.
Thus the so called "72 virgins" will be made up of people that died an becomes part of the group, all of with no sex organs and therefore perpetual virgins.
For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven.English Standard Version

#7. Dad ran a mission area. I don't know of any theologian who would infer Mathew 22:30 to be that souls in the afterlife would not have sexual or reproductive organs and all be trans.
I could see some gay or trans nut trying to push that view.
That said 1100 years ago many of my ancestors cared for Thor's Grove. The Vikings definitely had sex in Valhalla!

[KavkazUzel] Two people who were in camps in Iraq have been repatriated to Azerbaijan, the Foreign Ministry reported.
As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, Azerbaijan periodically organizes the return of its citizens from camps in Syria and Iraq. Thus, on June 4, six Azerbaijani citizens (a woman and five children), who were held in camps in Syria, were repatriated to their homeland.
They would have been an ISIS wife and children — possibly all hers, possibly some orphans.
Today, two Azerbaijani citizens were repatriated from Iraq to their homeland, and earlier, on September 18, six citizens who were in Syria, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported today.
But coming from Iraq they could be ISIS, Al Qaeda in Iraq, or something more exotic that was caught and imprisoned somewhere along the way. badanov's news sources really dislike saying, so unless one of our other sources is more forthcoming, this is all we know.
Before repatriation, the location, identity and Azerbaijani citizenship of these people were first established. Azerbaijani citizens in Syria were taken to Turkey, then representatives of the Azerbaijani authorities were sent to Turkey and Iraq, a preliminary medical and psychological examination of the repatriates was conducted, after which they arrived in Baku accompanied by delegations, the report, translated into Russian by a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, says.
The report does not specify the gender and age of the repatriates. It was not possible to get comments from the Foreign Ministry, a correspondent for the "Caucasian Knot" reported.
In recent years, about 470 people have been returned to Azerbaijan from Syria and Iraq, these are mainly family members (wives, children) of people who went to fight as part of illegal armed groups in conflict zones in the Middle East, an employee of the Azerbaijani government apparatus told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.
Let us recall that on February 21, two women and five children who were in camps in Syria were returned to Azerbaijan. In October 2023, a woman and nine children were returned to Azerbaijan from Syrian camps, and in August of the same year - three women and 13 children.
At least 120 women from Azerbaijan remain in Iraq, Turan agency observer Tofig Turkel reported in June 2023. In November 2022, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry estimated the total number of its citizens repatriated from Syria and Iraq over the years of work at 409 people.

They are hamas supporters not “pro-palestinians”
They have no idea of what hamas even is
On twitter (x) when i post a link to Yale’s copy of the hamas charter in English so they can see
It must get shadowd banned. They cannot see
This is terrible censorship
This is the actual official statement of thr group they are supporting so it must be up for discussion
Particularly the opening quote from hassan al banna, muslim brotherhood founder that says Islam will obliterate israel as it obliterated others before it
Why is it that nobody can see my words when i post this link, to a yale university document?

Grom, i would expect some argument but it cannot be seen at all
Which perpetuates the fiction that this is a struggle for a minority to get a country of their own
The charter shows this is a lie
A lot of the college kids are deceived and do not know what hamas actually is

^And I'm saying, they don't care - long as they're (a) with the cool kids; and (b) can run wild - they don't care if that's "Palestine", or BLM, or "environment".

Also, Grom is correct that the college kids don’t care. They enjoy getting out in the fresh air and sunshine, calling down vicious death on the target du jour. Their professors approve, after all.

A big news has just come which will disturb #Israel...
[PUBLISH.TWITTER] And Israel was being castigated for claiming 17,000 or 42.5%, though they hadn’t updated the number in ages. The real number is 32,800? Well done, IDF!.
Hamas admits privately that 80% of the total 41,000+ they say were killed in Gaza are Hamas members or their families.
Israel’s yearlong war on Gaza has killed 41,965 Palestinians and wounded 97,590 others, the Health Ministry says.
More than 10,000 bodies are feared buried in the vast destruction of downed buildings from Israeli attacks, meaning the death toll is likely far higher.
The vast majority of Gaza’s dead, an estimated 70 percent, are women and children.

We haven't heard much from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre recently, probably because with one notable recent exception, the Biden administration hasn't held a press briefing since Joe Biden announced the end of his reelection bid. And even that one exception proved to be more of a stab in the back for Kamala Harris than anything else. Perhaps that's because they've been preparing KJP for her new role. She has now been officially designated as one of Joe Biden's senior advisers. So who will be taking over her old duties as the Press Secretary? Well... it would appear that there won't be anyone taking over. What's the point at this stage of the game? As we'll discuss below, there really isn't much call for anyone to fill in that role and it becomes less and less relevant the closer we get to election day. (ABC News)

Since Joe hangs out at the beach all the time, what kind of advice will she be giving Joe?
[FoxNews] Metropolitan Police of Greater London reportedly paid £10,000 in damages and legal costs to UK evangelist Hatun Tash
A female Christian evangelist in the United Kingdom who was arrested and strip searched by the police after conversing with Muslims in a famous free speech area, has reportedly won £10,000 in damages from the police for her ordeal, according to a press release from legal advocacy group Christian Concern.
Hatun Tash, a former Muslim who converted to Christianity, has preached the Bible and debated Muslims at Speakers' Corner in Hyde Park, London, for over 10 years. On June 26, 2022, Tash was setting up her camera at Speakers' Corner, when a man ran up and stole her copy of the Quran, according to a legal threat sent by Tash's lawyer to The Metropolitan Police after her arrest. Tash used a Quran with holes in it during her preaching as a visual aid.
Another man reportedly held Tash's tripod and prevented her from chasing the thief. After Tash's friends called the emergency line, officers arrived and forcibly removed the preacher from the area as a growing crowd of men pursued her and shouted, "Allahu Akbar" while making attempts to assault her, the lawyer's letter said. The 2022 incident was also captured on video and recently made public on YouTube.
Tash's belongings were allegedly left by police at the scene. Her lawyer argued police violated her human rights after they "wrongfully detained" her for 15 hours, strip searched her, took her glasses and questioned her in the middle of the night.
Police told the Christian preacher she had been arrested for "criminal damage" due to her Quran, even though it was her property, as well as "intention to stir up racial hatred by use of threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior, or displays any written material which is threatening, abusive or insulting," because she was wearing a Charlie Hebdo t-shirt which depicted the Prophet Mohammed, according to the lawyer's letter.
Tash's lawyers argued that her rights to freedom of expression, thought, conscience and religion had been breached under Articles 9 & 10 European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). They sought damages for assault, wrongful arrest, unlawful imprisonment and harassment and legal fees, as well as an apology and agreement that the police would not "continue to harass her."
A settlement was recently reached, according to the Christian Legal Centre, and the Metropolitan Police.
"The Metropolitan Police has reached a settlement in relation to a proposed civil claim brought in relation to an arrest in 2022. We are not prepared to discuss details of the proposed claim or settlement further," a Met spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
Tash told Fox News Digital this isn't the first time she's experienced similar incidents with law enforcement at Speakers' Corner.
The former Muslim-turned-evangelist runs a ministry called "Defend Christ, Critique Islam." She has over 690,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel where she argues for Christianity and against the Islamic religion.
But her boldness in sharing her faith has made her a target for extremists. She has been stabbed, been the target of a terrorist plot, and wrongfully arrested multiple times at the free speech location over the past few years.
In her experience, the police have been lenient toward those who've threatened her and she says that has only emboldened more extremists to come after her. Like some others in Britain, she feels like there's an emerging "two-tier" justice system in the UK.
"Once Muslims kind of figured out, okay, nothing is happening, [once] they overstepped the law, then they started coming as mobs. So, like a group of ten, 20 of them simply would come and just harass me, making sure that I don't use my freedom of speech, making sure that I do not talk," she told Fox News Digital. "And every time there was tension, police would be the one concerned that they moved me or arrest me. None of those individuals ever were told off or told to be stopped. Police's approach was it is easier to remove me so that Muslim people can continue what they are doing."
"It's not only at Speakers' Corner. We get to see the same thing in schools," she said, explaining about a teacher who is still reportedly in hiding after showing a Mohammed cartoon to his class in 2021.
Despite these circumstances, she remains steadfast in her commitment to keep preaching.
"As long as the Lord gives me breath, I'm planning to preach the gospel because I think even though there are lots of negative things that are happening. For me, the solution is Jesus Christ. I saw how he transformed me. He will transform these individuals," she said.
Tash says she engages with imams at mosques and has seen approximately 20 imams who've left Islam and become Christians, as well as approximately 1,000 Muslims in England. On her YouTube platform, her ministry disciples hundreds of people from Muslim majority countries, she says.
"We are open to debates and discussions," she said. "It gives people to make their own choices, whether they want to be Muslim or they don't want to be Muslim, whether they want to become a Christian or not. So I have been someone who has been put in a place of privilege to see how my God steps in and changes and transforms lives. So, in that sense, I'm so grateful to the Lord."
[DAILYTRUST] Soldiers have bumped off three suspected bandidos while rescuing seven captives following a raid on bandidos' camp at Kurmin-Kare village in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
City & Crime had reported that three herders who went to sell their cows alongside four women were returning to their village when the bandidos flagged down their pickup van and whisked them away.
A vigilante member, who was part of the operation that led the soldiers to raid the bandidos' camp but preferred anonymity, said the raid was carried out on Saturday, around 4:12pm.
He said the bandidos fled and abandoned the victims after heavy gunfire, saying the bandidos fled with bullet injuries.
A community leader from the area also confirmed the rescue of seven kidnapped victims over the phone to our news hound on Sunday.
''It is true, some Fulani ... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity... men, including women who were returning from SCC village market last Wednesday, that were kidnapped by bandidos, have been rescued by soldiers on Saturday,'' he said.
He said the bandidos had earlier demanded N30 million ransom to release the victims, adding that undisclosed sums of money belonging to the Fulani were taken away by the bandidos.
The front man of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A controversial facial recognition company that's built a massive photographic dossier of the world's people for use by law enforcement, has been used in more than 1,000 police investigations without authorities announcing use of the software.
Despite opposition from lawmakers, regulators, privacy advocates and the websites it scrapes for data, Clearview AI has continued to rack up new contracts with police departments and other government agencies.
But now an investigation by The Washington Post has revealed how hundreds of U.S. citizens have been arrested after being connected to the crime, not through good old fashioned policing, but through use of the facial recognition software. The Post was able to sift through four years of records from police departments in 15 states that documented how the software was used.
Suspects placed under arrest were never informed how they were identified with police officers actively obscuring the use of the software through convoluted phrasing such as 'through investigative means', in an effort to disguise its use.
Clearview has provided access to its facial recognition software to more than 2,220 different government and law enforcement agencies around the country, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the US Secret Service, the Drug Enforcement Agency and more.
It pulls photos and personal data from a wide range of online sources, including social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn, which it uses to create individual profiles of people. Clearview's app then uses these profiles to identify individuals in photos that their clients, such as police departments, upload.
In the past the company was the subject of controversy after it was found to be scraping pictures from social media without people's consent. The pictures were used to train its facial recognition algorithm. The collection of images - approximately 14 photos for each of the 7 billion people on the entire planet, scraped from social media and other sources makes the company's extensive surveillance system, already the most elaborate of its kind.
But now it is law enforcement who are under scrutiny after failing to be transparent as to how the tech is being used. Sometimes police stated how suspects were identified through a witness or that 'a police officer made the identification.'
The real concern comes after about two dozen U.S. state or local governments passed laws restricting facial recognition after studies found the technology was less effective in identifying black people and had on a number of occasions wrongly identified suspects.
When police departments were asked by The Post to explain how the specialized software was used, most refused to give details while others claimed facial recognition was never used solely to provide a concrete match - just to suggest possible suspects.
AI is used to identify similarities between the 'probe image' and the faces in the database. However, there is no universal standard for determining a match, so different software providers may show varying results and degrees of resemblance.
Clearview AI, a tool becoming ever more widely used by law enforcement, scans a vast database of publicly available images from the internet, meaning anyone's photo online could potentially be linked to an investigation based on facial similarity. But in some of the more bizarre matches, the system suggested a suspect was basketball legend Michael Jordan and in another search a cartoon of a black man was found to be a match.
There now appears to be a steadily growing opposition to use of the facial recognition tool that can instigate false arrests. It was revealed during the study how seven Americans who were innocent, six of whom were black, were incorrectly arrested only to have their charges later dropped. While some were told they had been identified by AI, others were simply informed casually how 'the computer found them' of that they had simply been a 'positive match'.
Civil rights groups and defense lawyers say people should be told if the software is used to identify them. In some recent court cases, the reliability of the tool has been successfully questioned with defense lawyers suggesting police and prosecutors are working to intentionally to shield the technology from the scrutiny of the courts.
In their contracts with individual police departments, Clearview attempts to distance themselves from the reliability of their results. The contracts state how the program is not designed 'as a single-source system for establishing the identity of an individual' and that 'search results produced by the Clearview app are not intended nor permitted to be used as admissible evidence in a court of law or any court filing.'
Currently there are no federal laws regulate facial recognition leaving it to individual states and cities to push for greater transparency over the use of the tool.
The company, founded in 2016 by Australian CEO Hoan Ton-That, 37, is currently valued at more than $225 million.
Clearview is funded in part by Peter Thiel, the conservative venture capitalist who helped found the data analytics company Palantir, which has worked with the FBI, CIA, Marine Corps, and Department of Homeland Security. Clearview's technology is also being used by private companies, including Macy's, Walmart, BestBuy and the NBA.
European nations - including the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Greece and Austria - have all expressed disapproval of Clearview's method of extracting information from public websites, saying it comes in violation of European privacy policies. Canadian provinces from Quebec to British Columbia have requested the company take down the images obtained without subjects' permission.
Despite opposition from lawmakers, regulators, privacy advocates and the websites it scrapes for data, Clearview has continued to rack up new contracts with police departments and other government agencies.
In the meantime, its growing database has helped Clearview's artificial intelligence technology learn and grow more accurate. One of its biggest known federal contracts is with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement - particularly its investigative arm, which has used the technology to track down both the victims and perpetrators of child sexual exploitation.
A facial recognition system used by officials in China connects to millions of CCTV cameras and uses artificial intelligence to pick out targets.

Really no different than a photo line up, just done by computer.
And yes, you can copyright your image. Usually done when you have been in other copyrighted things like TV, movies, etc. Otherwise why the hooha about AI images of actors?

[NYPOST] Scandal-plagued Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Phil Banks has resigned, succumbing to weeks of pressure amid federal probes that ensnared both him and his longtime friend Mayor Eric Adams ...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve... , sources told The Post.
The resignation, which sources said was submitted Sunday night, is the latest high-profile departure from Adams' administration — and is certain to raise further questions about whether the mayor himself can endure after his historic federal indictment.
Over the past few weeks, Adams has scrambled to convince embattled top administration officials to depart with Gov. Kathy Hochul pressuring the mayor to clean house.
[NYPOST] Two controversial City Hall staffers — including Winnie Greco, a longtime confidante to Mayor Eric Adams — were pushed out of their jobs Monday, The Post has learned.
What’s the difference between a pal and a confidante?
Greco — who officials believe will potentially be indicted by the feds — resigned, while staffer Rana Abbasova, a key figure in the criminal case against Adams, was fired, sources said.
Two other staffers — Mohammad Bahi, the mayor's liaison to the Moslem community, and Ahsan Chutgai, his senior Moslem adviser — resigned in recent days, according to sources.
All four couldn't immediately be reached for comment. Attorneys for Abbasova and Greco did not return calls.

[REGNUM] In recent months, the Israeli army and intelligence services have launched a real hunt for the leaders of pro-Iranian groups that are part of the “Axis of Resistance.”
Since the high-profile assassination of Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in August 2024, more than a hundred high-ranking resistance figures in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Palestine have been eliminated one after another. Among them was Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, whom the Israelis had been hunting for two decades.
At the same time, the Yemeni Houthis (the Ansar Allah movement) remain almost completely outside the scope of the Israeli liquidators’ activity. Of course, the Israeli air force and coalition forces periodically strike the movement’s infrastructure – the port city of Hodeida and the capital city of Sana’a, occupied by the Houthis, have suffered from the raids. However, the frequency and scale of these operations are incomparable to the Israeli actions in the Lebanese and Syrian directions.
It seems as if Israel is "forgetting" about the Yemeni rebels, although they are the ones who are causing the greatest damage to its economy with their naval blockade. Tel Aviv has a slightly different opinion on this matter.
How is Houthi Yemen doing without oil or a working electrical power plant after the last round of Israeli airstrikes?
ARABS ARE NOT EAGER TO HELP
The restraint towards Ansar Allah is largely due to Yemen's territorial remoteness - Israel does not have a common land border with this country, which significantly reduces the operational capabilities of the army (IDF).
Despite the fact that Israel has already clearly demonstrated its readiness to “reach out” to Yemeni territories (Operation Long Arm, July 2024), every such attack is impossible without the use of the airspace and airfields of Arab allies - primarily the monarchies of the Persian Gulf.
The prospect of becoming a “bouncing ground” for Israeli operations does not inspire enthusiasm among the Arabs, especially considering that the main burden of repelling Ansar Allah’s retaliatory strike will fall on them. Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, which experienced the consequences of the conflict with the Houthis on their oil and gas infrastructure a couple of years ago, are now looking for any excuse to avoid participating in such adventures.
Moreover, Yemen’s neighbors – even those relatively loyal to Tel Aviv – are reluctant to publicly support “Israeli aggression,” since such an alliance is guaranteed to undermine their position in the Arab world and undermine all efforts to reduce tensions between Arab countries and Iran. Trading three years of diplomatic work for the destruction of several oil terminals in Yemen does not seem like an equal trade-off.
In many ways, Israel's zeal is also restrained by the United States, for which maintaining the status quo in Yemen is important for the implementation of a larger geopolitical combination. Washington hopes to use the "inter-Yemeni settlement," where the Houthi leaders act as a fairly "handshakeable" force, to stabilize the situation on the Arabian Peninsula as a whole. This is one of the unspoken conditions for Saudi Arabia's return to negotiations on normalizing relations with Israel, and the White House is making efforts to fulfill its promise.
At the same time, the US, together with Great Britain, continues to carry out missile and bomb strikes on the Houthi infrastructure – however, they are aimed more at “demonstrating the involvement” of Tel Aviv’s Western allies in the conflict than at preparing for more serious operations.
True. But that’s their choice — they could be much more effective if they wanted.
Finally, Israel simply does not have enough objective data on the opponent’s routes. The current leader of Ansar Allah, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, is known for rarely staying in one place and interacting with visitors exclusively online via video link. Israeli intelligence spent several decades tracking down the previous such opponent, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
At the same time, official Tel Aviv clearly does not want to conduct an “operation for the sake of an operation”: any attack of this kind against the Houthi leadership will be perceived as a threat to the movement as a whole and will only increase the frequency of Ansar Allah’s strikes on Israeli targets. Especially since after the death of the movement’s founder, Hussein al-Houthi, in 2004, the image of al-Houthi Jr. became practically inseparable from the image of Ansar Allah.
NO STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS
Although Tel Aviv is so far keeping a close eye on the Houthi actions, this does not mean that it has completely abandoned the idea of revenge for the economic and image damage. However, preparation for the attack will require much more time - especially since a significant part of the resources is diverted to preparations for an expanded operation against Hezbollah, which is a more significant priority for the government of Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Israeli strategy will be largely influenced by the results of the US presidential elections. A victory for the Democrats does not promise major changes in the tactics of Israeli forces against the pro-Iranian "Axis of Resistance". Tel Aviv will continue "pin strikes" aimed at disuniting Iranian proxy groups.
At the same time, the triumph of the Republicans in the US will open up opportunities for lobbying for more daring operations: Tel Aviv will be able to use Washington’s authority to “open” the airspace of the Arabian monarchies for its military aviation and thereby increase pressure on Yemen’s infrastructure.
In both cases, the main target will still be the oil terminals. By destabilizing the energy sector, Israel hopes to stir up the population in the Houthi-controlled territories and provoke an uprising in the rear. Thus, making it easier for itself to fight Ansar Allah.
However, this does not go beyond the current format of the struggle. In order to move on to a targeted “hunt” for the Houthi leaders, Tel Aviv needs a more compelling reason, since the blockade of the Red Sea and indirect support for the interests of Palestine do not pose an existential threat to the country (unlike the incessant strikes of Hezbollah on the northern regions of Israel), no matter how much the Israeli “hawks” try to prove it.
Such a reason could be, for example, the full-fledged joining of Ansar Allah in Operation True Promise 3, which official Tehran announced recently in response to Israeli threats of a “retaliatory strike.”
In this sense, Israel does not limit itself to any “statute of limitations” and is ready to fight pro-Iranian forces in stages.
[IsraelTimes] IDF cites new findings in declaring death of volunteer photographer, 28, apparently killed while trying to escape Nova rave; his body is one of 34 held in Gaza
May this knowledge comfort those who mourn, and may his memory be a blessing.
The Israel Defense Forces said Monday that hostage Idan Shtivi was killed during Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... ’s October 7, 2023, onslaught in southern Israel, the announcement coming year to the day his body was kidnapped into Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... , where it is still being held.
The grim development, announced on the first anniversary of the unprecedented assault, was based on new intelligence findings, the military said.
The IDF said it had informed Shtivi’s family on Sunday that the army had concluded that he was killed during the attack on the Nova music festival.
Shtivi’s death was first announced publicly Monday morning by the Hostage and Missing Families Forum. It was later confirmed by the IDF, which said the decision was made "based on intelligence information that was confirmed by a panel of experts from the Health Ministry."
"The IDF operates with a range of methods to try and gather information on the hostages in Gaza," the army said.
Shtivi was one of 251 people kidnapped on October 7 and is among 34 hostages killed on October 7 or while in captivity whose bodies are being held in Gaza, according to the IDF.
A total of 101 hostages and remains are currently thought captive, including two slain soldiers and two civilians held for around a decade.
Shtivi, 28, was a nature lover and photography enthusiast who was studying sustainability and government at Herzliya’s Reichman University.
He was seized by Hamas faceless myrmidons at the Nova desert rave, where he had volunteered to photograph the event.
He joined the party at 6 a.m., and called his girlfriend at 7, telling her about the missiles overhead and that he was leaving.
Shtivi left in his car with two friends, Lior and Yulia, but was blocked by the faceless myrmidons on the road heading north. He then turned the car around and started driving south, but was driven off the road, lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree.
He was last seen in that location, and the car was later found full of bullet holes and blood.
His friends’ bodies were found, but Shtivi was missing and later determined to have been taken hostage into Gaza.
Shtivi, a resident of Petah Tikva, is survived by his parents Eli and Dalit, siblings and his girlfriend Stav.

[REGNUM] Russian army units are building on their previous successes, inflicting defeats on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbass. Combat operations continue on several sections of the front in the DPR, where the enemy is surrendering one settlement after another.
Russian troops continue to push back the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Pokrovsk direction, advancing toward Mirnograd. On Monday, October 7, it became known that the settlement of Grodovka, which had been fought for in recent weeks, had been liberated.
The information about the liberation of the settlement was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Previously, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command planned to hold the defense of Pokrovsk along the Selidovo-Novgrodovka-Krasny Yar-Grodovka line. However, Russian troops consistently broke through the enemy's defense front in several places, destroying the plans of the Ukrainian army command.
The liberation of Grodovka opens a direct road to Mirnograd, a satellite of Pokrovsk, forming a single agglomeration with it. However, there are other options for developing the offensive, note front-line sources of the Regnum news agency.
According to local reports, the Ukrainian army is preparing the Pokrovsk agglomeration for protracted urban battles. The city streets are blocked with minefields and "dragon's teeth". Fire points and defense nodes are being created in the development and especially in the city's industrial zone. Therefore, immediately before storming the city, Russian troops may conduct a series of operations to disrupt the enemy's logistics.
"There remains an important highway connecting Pokrovsk - Mirnograd and Konstantinovka. In fact, these are now the two main defensive hubs. The road is held by the pretty battered 47th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. No one will rush into the fortified buildings without preparation," the source of the publication says.
Engineering units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to fortify the industrial zone of Pokrovsk, including the buildings of the machine-building and Pokrovsk silica plants. In Mirnograd, work is underway to transform the urban development into a fortified area.
The Ukrainian army command is preparing to resort once again to its eternal tactic: to prolong military operations at any cost. This is the conclusion reached by journalists from The New York Times, among others. The publication recalls that in recent months the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost control over a number of cities, including Maryinka, Avdiivka and Vuhledar, where the Ukrainian military tried to hold on at any cost.
At the same time, journalists insist that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ refusal to attempt a counterattack should not be perceived as “the beginning of a military defeat,” since Ukrainian troops are pursuing the goal of exhausting the Russian army by surrendering territory.
At the same time, the NYT authors wonder: how far will Ukrainian troops have to give in before the Russian army is exhausted? So far, this highly controversial strategy has only led to new losses for Kyiv.
THE MOP UP CONTINUES
The Russian army's offensive continues south of Pokrovsk. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that units of the Southern Group of Forces had liberated the settlement of Zhelannoye Vtoroye east of the settlement of Gornyak.
Russian troops were also able to advance in the direction of Tsukurino. The Ukrainian Armed Forces still control the area of the local poultry farm, around which a defensive area has been formed. Its complete cleansing will allow Russian troops to proceed to the assault on a large enemy "fortification" in the area of the villages of Gornyak and Kurakhovka, sources of the Regnum news agency report.
"The main supply route for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this area, the road to Kurakhovo, has already been cut off, now they still have dirt roads to communicate with the main forces. But, most likely, they will have to retreat from there too," the source predicts.
The advance of Russian troops on this section of the front is also acknowledged by the Ukrainian resource Deep State. Its authors noted the complete loss of control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over Krasnogorovka, as well as the advance of the Russian army in the area of Gornyak, Tsukurino and the village of Lyubimovka.
THE SOUTHERN FRONT IS ON THE MOVE
The situation on the southern front in Donbass is not the best for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. After the liberation of Ugledar, the Russian army is developing an offensive in this direction - there are practically no large settlements left under enemy control.
According to information from the field, the offensive is developing from Ugledar to the north - in the direction of the Kurakhovskoye Reservoir and the settlement of Kurakhovo, towards the units of the Southern Group, which is operating from the settlement of Gornyak.
The configuration of the front in this area is developing in such a way that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have to leave a large area of territory in the near future, sources of the Regnum news agency note.
"The entire Ugledar region is a plain, literally like a table. Whoever controls the city, controls the region. Now they are trying to put together a defense near Kurakhovo, but here the initiative has already passed to us," a source in the Ugledar region tells the publication.
The situation is developing similarly to the west, in the area of Velyka Novosyolka. According to reports from the field, the settlement of Zolotaya Niva has come under the control of the Russian army. After the liberation of Ugledar, Velyka Novosyolka remains the last major defense node on the border between the DPR and the Zaporizhia region.
NEXT IS THE ZAPORIZHIA REGION
The developing situation is forcing Kyiv to feverishly revise its strategy. On the eve, satellite images appeared on the Internet indicating the construction of new lines of defense on several sections of the front at once.
In addition to the fortifications being built in the Pokrovsk area, the Ukrainian army command is planning to defend new sections of the front in regions not previously affected by military action.
It is noted that if the Ukrainian Armed Forces lose control over Pokrovsk, a direct road to the Dnipropetrovsk region will open up for Russian troops. At the same time, successes in the Ugledar area create preconditions for the liberation of the Zaporizhzhya region.
New fortifications are being created along the M30 highway from Pokrovsk to Pavlograd and the road from Kurakhovo to Pokrovskoe. Western analysts are inclined to consider the measures taken by Kiev as preparations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces for a gradual retreat from eastern Donbass.
It was previously assumed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could attempt a counteroffensive on the Zaporizhzhya section of the front. Now, when the enemy command adheres to the tactics of "exchange of territories for a time", there are fewer and fewer opportunities for counterattacks. However, no one in Ukraine is talking about them anymore, continuing to monitor the loss of Donbass.

[REGNUM] Since the second half of September, rumors have been persistently circulating in the Ukrainian media about the possible resignation of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov (included in the list of terrorists and extremists). Apparently, these are not just rumors - his resignation is really being considered in Zelensky's office.
It is connected with the fact that after the exile of the former commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny as ambassador to Britain, the lover of showing off in the media Budanov became too public a person. And in Ukraine there can only be one star - an expired president, to whom all victories should belong. While the head of military intelligence shamelessly attributes to himself a lot of achievements, even those that have nothing to do with the activities of the GUR.
And he even allows himself to carry out combat operations with major losses purely for the sake of a pretty picture - like the completely idiotic attempt to land sabotage groups on the Kinburn Spit.
In addition, Budanov is a favorite of American "partners", always ready for any dirty tricks that they come up with, and invents his own. The attack of Ukrainian kamikaze drones on the Kursk NPP, according to informed sources, is his personal project. And this independent game does not always suit Zelensky's gray cardinal - the head of the presidential office Andriy Yermak, who goes under the British. Purely emotional aspects are superimposed on political intrigues.
The only question is whether Budanov will accept his resignation as meekly as Zaluzhny, and what this could mean for the Kyiv regime, given the resources at the disposal of the Main Intelligence Directorate. And this is the most interesting thing in the rather banal story about the dismissal of the undesirable.
The first serious sign that trouble was gathering over Budanov was the dismissal of two of Budanov's deputies, Viktor Zaitsev and Igor Ostapenko, by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. It was very important that they were dismissed, apparently, without the approval of the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate himself.
This was, of course, not officially confirmed, but this widely circulated information was not refuted by anyone, and people from Budanovsky’s orbit are speaking about this nuance with undisguised irritation.
Thus, in particular, the former head of the GUR Valery Kondratyuk, who worked closely with Budanov, stated in an interview that "the very fact of not coordinating with the leadership is today a violation of even ordinary ethics - not only corporate, military, but human ethics in general. Such decisions, both in accordance with the procedures and the legislative field, must be agreed upon by the GUR leadership. And such things undermine and demoralize the GUR team when they see that today the commander is deprived of any influence and decisions are made without him."
However, the Ministry of Defense is clearly not worried about reputational losses and its next step was to remove the company Spetstekhnoeksport, which is engaged in purchasing weapons for the Ukrainian army abroad, from Budanov’s control.
Numerous facts of suspicious purchases of weapons at clearly inflated prices, accumulated debts to suppliers and other violations in the company's activities were immediately "suddenly" revealed. Thus, for high-explosive fragmentation rounds, which were purchased from India via the Czech Republic, 2 thousand euros were overpaid for each compared to prices on the world market.
Public figures close to the presidential office began to vied with each other to talk about various shortcomings in Budanov’s work.
Thus, the popular military expert, former SBU employee Ivan Stupak took aim at the excessive public activity of the GUR, which is supposed to remain in the shadows.
"There are many claims in terms of media coverage. There are many claims regarding the killed Ukrainian GUR specialists, instructors. These are not just special forces, but highly qualified people, instructors who died as a result of not very well planned operations, media... There were moments when special forces were deployed exclusively for PR purposes," Stupak said.
Well, on the other hand, political scientists piled in, convincingly proving that Budanov had gained too much weight, and this is also unacceptable for a military leader.
"As far as I know, individual sociological surveys show a high level of trust in the hypothetical party of Budanov. I know for sure that sociological measurements were taken and that it definitely exceeds the 5% indicator (the barrier to entry into the Verkhovna Rada. - Ed.). Although he is not the most popular figure in Ukraine today, there is a political perspective," political scientist Alexey Koshel comments on the situation.
Another expert, one of the long-standing and "famous" ones, Vladimir Fesenko explains to the public that the GUR has become "very focused" on Budanov during the war. "Budanov rebuilt it for himself. I have heard from various people that many employees are personally loyal to Budanov. And therefore, paradoxically, it will be more difficult to replace the head of the GUR than to replace the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which happened at the beginning of the year," Fesenko emphasizes.
However, Kirill Alekseevich is no fool either and switched on defense mode.
To begin with, the above-mentioned Kondratyuk, without a moment's hesitation, equated the enemies of the head of the GUR with the enemies of Ukraine. "When Budanov devoted his entire life and activity in the structure he headed to the defense of our state, I would say today that he should not have personal enemies, but there should be, as [Cardinal] Richelieu once said, enemies of our country. He once said that there are no personal enemies, but there are enemies of France. In this case, it seems to me, this very accurately applies to Budanov," he is sure.
The thesis was picked up by representatives of fan movements of the largest football clubs of Ukraine. In the statement they distributed, it was stated that since the personnel of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot express their opinion, "we, as a football community from all over the country, represent soldiers and officers of different brigades and battalions." And therefore they express absolute trust and support to Kirill Budanov, whose personality as the head of the GUR "is key today."
Considering that the fan movement in Ukraine was the backbone of the Maidan and the nationalist movement in general, and that now its representatives, with weapons in hand, are part of various military units (which is directly stated in the appeal), the statement can well be regarded as a hint addressed to the authorities: resistance to Budanov’s dismissal may not only be informational.
Unlike Zaluzhny, who did not display his own political ambitions, did not strive for media activity, did not resist (at least not openly) his resignation and calmly left after it as an ambassador to London, the situation with Budanov is, by all parameters, truly completely different.
After Yermak consistently, over several years, successfully "cleansed" the entire vertical of power in Ukraine of personnel not under his personal control, Budanov remained almost the only noticeable figure independent of the head of the presidential office. Ambitious, able to hold his own in front of the camera, clearly maintaining a staff of image-makers (who come up with loud statements like "drink coffee in Crimea") and also possessing large-scale resources.
The main one of these resources, as already indicated, is foreign support. The fact that the head of the GUR is a long-time CIA agent is no secret to anyone in Kyiv.
Some details of this interaction were openly reported in February of this year, for example, by The New York Times. The American publication, in particular, reported that Budanov was part of the so-called "Unit 2245" of Ukrainian military intelligence, which acted in the interests of American intelligence services, and which had been trained by the CIA since 2016.
"General Budanov was a rising star in Unit 2245, known for daring operations behind enemy lines and deep ties to the CIA. The agency trained him and also took the extraordinary step of sending him to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland for rehabilitation after he was wounded in the right arm during fighting in the Donbas," the publication reports.
And Yermak, in turn, has had long-standing close ties with British intelligence – MI-6.
It was he who organized and participated in the significant closed meeting between Zelensky and the head of the British intelligence service Richard Moore, which took place in October 2020 in his office on the Prince Albert Embankment in London. It was after that meeting that the previously hesitant Ukrainian leader took an unambiguous course towards a pro-Western policy, the violent suppression of the opposition and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a sharp deterioration in relations with Russia, which ultimately led to the beginning of the SVO. Evil tongues are talking almost about the recruitment of Zelensky.
And although the Americans and the British generally pursue a common strategic line of confrontation with Russia and the use of Ukraine, which has been turned into a puppet of the Anglo-Saxons, as their common instrument in this process, tactical differences between them are inevitable. Therefore, the current conflict between Yermak and Budanov is also an element of the unofficial confrontation between the British and American intelligence services in Ukraine.
"According to my information, Yermak really wants to fire Budanov. He is offered various options. However, the head of the GUR is covered by the US. And he allegedly replies that if there is a command from Washington, or more precisely from the US Defense Intelligence Agency, then, they say, we will talk," fugitive Ukrainian political scientist Kost Bondarenko comments on the situation.
It is unlikely that Budanov’s possible dismissal will cause some kind of military coup on his part with a change of power in Ukraine.
He has the potential for this, as well as the corresponding ambitions. But the decision on this or that turn of the “independent Ukrainian policy” will be determined not in Kyiv, but in Washington and London.
Considering that the presidential election campaign is currently in full swing in the United States, Budanov’s fate will most likely be decided after the elections and the formation of a new (or at least updated, if Kamala Harris wins ) presidential administration.
So, while waiting for this moment, the parties are throwing together arguments that the owners will use when they sort out all the cases. And Budanov's person will become a marker of the main decision: if "the war is to the last Ukrainian" - he will get a promotion; if the project is curtailed - somewhere warm, to prepare dirty tricks for Russia in a different mode and in a different office.

Because DC Swamp was too busy spending and sending $$$$ to every pocket around the world, plus their own. Instead of following their oath of office and US Constitution, which requires America 1st.
an eyewall replacement cycle (which frequently occurs in strong hurricanes) and some land interaction (hurricane is near the Yucatan) were probably responsible

Ah... well Oleg P. Designed and built the woodpecker and ordered the reactors at Chernobyl. He was a good friend and co-worker at Motorola.
Before I introduced him to some Pave Paws designers I had a long talk with them about what he had told me about that analog phased array radar .. Oleg and I had lots of laughs about all the shit people dreamed of the woodpecker doing..
After introducing him to one of the Pave Paws designer the designer got back to me and said woodpecker was an even worse design then I suspected. Totally useless in the real world.
As to it's woodpecker noise I introduced him to ex-Motorola engineers who had made millions on devices to work around the noise. They were happy to meet him and roasted him with several nice dinners in downtown Chicago.
I lost track of him about 2015 and assume he might be dead.
BTW he defected to the USA the same week it went live after testing. He was sent to Dayton for a few years of inquiry and then NCR and others then Mot where he was on the same team with me and then when laid off went as CTO to a firm in San Diego.
All the crazy theories about the Woodpecker are bullshit! Take it to the bank.

Oh and his father was a Hero of the Soviet union who died in the first Kursk battle at the beginning of the Nazi invasion that the USSR lost.
And his first wife that he was kind of forced to marry for political reasons taught communism at one of the Moscow universities. He defected because she and his political commissar didn't approve when he was caught by them sc...ing the commissar's wife.
Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.
[Korrespondent] 22:15 Russia attacked Odessa port infrastructure with ballistic missiles, OVA head Oleg Kiper reported. The missile hit a civilian vessel under the Palau flag, killing a 60-year-old Ukrainian, an employee of a private company handling cargo. Five more foreign citizens were injured.
21:37 The number of casualties as a result of Russian shelling of Slavyansk in Donetsk Oblast has risen to seven, including two children, and one person has died, the prosecutor's office reported. According to the investigation, the enemy attacked the settlement with two UMBP D-30 SN, which hit the courtyard of an apartment building and the roadway.
20:02 Ukraine will present its "victory plan" to every country "that can really help bring peace closer," Zelensky said in an evening video address. "And, of course, having understood all the positions of our partners, all the real opportunities for Ukraine, having strengthened our victory plan, we will make our strategy for further actions public. It is important that the prospects be clear to everyone in our country. We invite our partners to determine how they see the end of this war, Ukraine's place in the global security architecture, as well as common steps that can put this war on course for an end," the president emphasized.
He also reported that he had heard a number of reports today, in particular on weapons production in Ukraine. "And not only about what has already been achieved, not only about what we are already producing, but also about proposals for partners to invest in our Ukrainian production, primarily drones and electronic warfare. This is also part of our package for Ramstein," the head of state added.
As for the front, according to Zelensky, the Donetsk areas remain particularly difficult, "and we will try to convince our partners in Ramstein that we need to significantly strengthen our capabilities, our positions, and right now, during the autumn months."
19:46 Russians shelled Slavyansk in Donetsk Oblast - one person was killed, six were wounded, including two children, reported OVA head Vadim Filashkin. Six multi-story buildings, an enterprise, and an administrative building were damaged.

The department recalled that an agreement was recently signed to increase the production of shells for Ukraine by an enterprise whose production facilities are located in Slovakia. Slovakia is also ready to provide its own engineering equipment for mine clearance, which will speed up the cleanup of Ukrainian territories.
17:34 The UK has allocated $4.6 billion to Ukraine for the purchase of modern military equipment from British manufacturers, the country's government reported.
17:15 The number of victims as a result of the Russian airstrike on Kherson has risen to 20, OVA reported.
16:59 The European External Action Service is considering the possibility of voluntary contributions to the European Peace Fund, which finances military aid to Ukraine, in order to bypass Hungary's veto, Bloomberg writes, citing sources. It is assumed that such a scheme would allow financial aid to be transferred to Ukraine with the consent of only the country that made the contribution, and not with the unanimous support of all EU members. EU permanent representatives intend to discuss this initiative at a meeting on Tuesday, October 8. Bloomberg recalls that due to Hungary's position, the European Union cannot transfer $6.6 billion in aid to Ukraine.
16:07 The Third Separate Assault Brigade (3rd Separate Assault Brigade) reported that its fighters carried out successful assault operations in the Kharkov region, during which they "attacked the enemy, eliminated the sabotage and reconnaissance group, and as a result of these battles, recaptured not only the enemy's positions, but also prisoners." The brigade stated that after stabilization actions, the enemy was driven back, and the position of Ukrainian forces on the occupied section of the front was restored.
15:40 As a result of the operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the minesweeper of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces, Aleksandr Obukhov, which was based in the city of Baltiysk and was supposed to go on combat duty, was disabled. According to intelligence, the ship received significant damage: due to the appearance of a hole in the gas duct, water got into the engine. The minesweeper was sent for major repairs, which are technically complex and expensive. Obukhov is already the second ship of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces to be disabled in the last six months. In April, as a result of the Main Intelligence Directorate operation, the missile boat Serpukhov was damaged.
15:13 On the night of October 7, Russians launched another attack on the Yuzhny port in the Odessa region, as a result of the attack, the civilian vessel Paresa under the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, which was transporting 6,000 tons of Ukrainian corn for export, was damaged, the Ministry of Communities reported. No crew members were injured.
14:58 Slovakia is "rather cold" about Ukraine's membership in NATO, but supports Kyiv in the issue of European integration, Prime Minister Robert Fico said during a meeting with Shmyhal. "We will not put obstacles in your path to Ukraine's membership in the EU. There will be countries that will be against Ukraine quickly becoming a member of the European Union. I say this openly and clearly. We want to share our experience of accession with you. This experience is interesting and valuable," Fico noted.
14:12 On Putin's birthday, Ukrainian hackers switched off the most popular propaganda TV channels: Russia 1 and Russia 24, Russia Culture, RTR Planeta and more than 20 others, Ukrainian media reported, citing sources. Employees of these media companies complained that all information on the servers, including backup copies, had been destroyed, and online broadcasting and internal services were not working. The anonymous pro-Ukrainian hacker group Sudo rm-RF claimed responsibility for the cyberattack.

She also said that Ukraine has become the first in the world in terms of the number of artillery systems produced per month.
12:56 In Moscow, a 73-year-old American was sentenced to almost seven years in prison for participating in the Ukrainian territorial defense. According to the investigation, American retiree Stephen Hubbard had lived in Ukraine since 2014 and, after Russia's full-scale invasion, joined the territorial defense of the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region (for which he allegedly received at least $1,000 in salary). After two months of service, he was captured by Russia. Hubbard admitted his guilt, although his relatives doubt that the retiree actually served in the Ukrainian territorial defense. They told Reuters that Hubbard held pro-Russian views and came to Ukraine to teach English.
12:33 At night, Russians fired artillery at civilian infrastructure in the Novoslobodskaya community of the Konotop district of the Sumy region, killing two people, the prosecutor's office reported.
12:27 Russia has launched strikes on Zaporizhia and the region - infrastructure facilities have been damaged, three employees of these facilities have been wounded, said the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov.
11:52 The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that without Western aid, the war in Ukraine will end in 15 days with a Russian victory: "Many want the war to end as soon as possible. Starting with the Ukrainians themselves. But what matters is how it will happen. If we stop supporting Ukraine, the war will end in 15 days and Putin will achieve his goals. But do we want this for the Ukrainians and for our own security, Europeans? We must do everything possible so that when the time comes, we can negotiate on terms that are favorable to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
11:30 A new record amount of a one-time payment for signing a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry has been announced in the Belgorod Region - 3 million rubles, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported. The payment was increased by 2.2 million rubles. Russian media note that one-time payments for signing a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry began to grow sharply in 2024. In mid-summer, Moscow and the Moscow Region set a record, where contract soldiers are promised 1.9 and 1.7 million rubles, respectively. According to Putin's decree from 2022, all contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry are permanent.

[DAILYTRUST] Residents of Geidam Local Government Area in Yobe State have commended troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, 159 Battalion Geidam, Yobe State for their recent actions in protecting the town.
The troops successfully engaged and killed 10 suspected Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... bandidosbully boyz during an attempted attack on the town.
A resident, who wished to be anonymous told Daily Trust that bandidosbully boyz attacked the town on Friday but their attempt was thwarted by the troops.
He said ''The attackers stormed the town around 1:30am, while most people were asleep. However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package... thanks to the dedication of Lt. Col. Sadiq Rikoto, the commanding officer of the 159 Battalion, the attack was repelled.
''In the initial encounter, the Boko Haram bandidosbully boyz resisted and engaged the military for about three hours in a firefight before retreating. At least 10 bully boyz were killed, while others fled with injuries.''
Residents who spoke with Daily Trust commended Lt. Col. Sadiq for his change in strategy which led to the foiled attack.
A local businessman noted that the security improvement was strategic, timely and effective.
He added that while bully boyz had recently increased attacks on unarmed villagers in the state, the military had managed to prevent several attacks in Geidam.
Bukar Maina, a farmer from the area, told news hounds that the town's residents appreciated the 159 Battalion's commitment to finding lasting solutions to the menace of terrorism.
He praised the new strategy that showed the troops' intensified efforts to rid the North East of insurgency.
He also urged residents, particularly those living in affected areas, to cooperate with the military and support their operations.
Attempts to obtain a comment from Captain Shehu Muhammad, Assistant Director of Public Relations for Operation Lafiya Dole Sector 2 in Damaturu, were unsuccessful.

[ShabelleMedia] In a concerted effort to bolster security, Somalia’s Military Police, alongside intelligence units, have executed a series of operations in the coastal Jasira region, just outside the capital, Mogadishu.
The maneuver, aimed at preempting Death Eater activities, particularly by al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... bully boys, involved sweeping checks along the strategic highway connecting Mogadishu to Jasira.
The operations, which have seen an intensified presence of security forces, are part of a broader strategy to safeguard the area against the backdrop of recent increased threats. According to local sources, the military’s focus was on dismantling potential terror networks and reducing the operational capacity of Death Eaters in the region.
Jasira, known for its scenic beaches and attracting tourists, has not been immune to the security challenges that plague Somalia. The efforts to secure this economically significant area reflect the government’s commitment to not only combat terrorism but also to assure both locals and tourists of their safety, thereby fostering economic recovery through tourism. Thank goodness. My AAA Travel Agent assured me it would be a wonderful vacation
The security enhancements included the establishment of new checkpoints, increased patrols, and intelligence gathering to preempt attacks. These measures come at a time when Somalia is navigating the transition of AU forces, with the Somali National Army (SNA) expected to take over security responsibilities fully by the end of 2024, amidst skepticism regarding the army’s readiness.
Residents of Jasira have reported mixed feelings, with some expressing relief at the visible security presence, hoping it will deter attacks like those previously carried out by al-Shabaab, which have occasionally targeted tourist areas. However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves... others voice concerns over the potential disruption of daily life and the economic implications if the security operations become a regular, intrusive feature.
The operations have also sparked discussions on social media, with some users questioning the long-term effectiveness of such military engagements in curbing insurgency without addressing underlying political and social issues. Critics argue that while these operations might temporarily disrupt bully boy activities, sustainable peace requires more comprehensive approaches, including governance reforms and economic development.
As Somalia continues to grapple with security, the operations in Jasira underscore the ongoing struggle between maintaining security and fostering civilian trust and economic growth. The international community watches keenly, with many hoping these efforts will pave the way for a more secure and prosperous future for Somalia, particularly in areas critical for tourism and local trade.
[Rudaw] At least two members of the Iraqi security forces were killed overnight in a suspected Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) attack in Diyala province, a police source said on Sunday.
Haytham al-Shammari, spokesperson for Diyala police, told Rudaw that four ISIS fighters in a white Kia truck
…oh dear. Everyone knows that the proper jihadi drives a white Toyota truck not that down-market Kia thing (not that I am judging, mind you, but people do talk, donchaknow)…
opened fire around 9:30 pm on Saturday at a base of security forces in the province’s Muqdadiya district (known as Sharaban in Kurdish), killing two.
"The truck driver was killed and other [ISIS] fighters escaped the scene," Shammari said.
In December, a deadly ISIS attack in the same district killed 10 civilians and 17 injured.
ISIS rose to power and seized control of swathes of Iraqi territory during a brazen offensive in 2014 but was declared territorially defeated in 2017 when its so-called caliphate in the country fell as Iraqi and Kurdish fighters, supported by a US-led international coalition, claimed back lands lost to the jihadists.
Despite its territorial defeat, the group has continued to pose a serious security threat to the country through hit-and-run attacks, bombings, and abductions in several provinces, particularly in areas disputed between Erbil and Baghdad which stretch across the provinces of Salahaddin, Diyala, Kirkuk, ... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time... and Nineveh.
Iraqi and Kurdish forces frequently launch anti-ISIS operations in the disputed areas.

Interesting to note that the counterterror operation was conducted by interior ministry special forces, as well as FSB special forces.
[Regnum] Law enforcement officers detained three residents of Dagestan on suspicion of organizing and participating in international extremist activities. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD).
"In the course of implementing operational and investigative measures to identify individuals involved in extremist activities, employees of the Center "E" of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the North Caucasus Federal District, in cooperation with the UFSB of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan, the UFSB of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, and with the forceful support of Russian National Guard fighters, suppressed the illegal activities of three residents of the Republic of Dagestan involved in organizing and participating in an extremist organization," the department's Telegram channel says.
According to the agency, those detained between 2018 and 2023 organized the activities of a cell of an international extremist organization banned in Russia, while at the same time carrying out anti-Russian and anti-constitutional activities, and were also engaged in propaganda of the ideology of the organization among the population of the North Caucasus, influencing their religious feelings. In addition, according to law enforcement officials, the suspects recruited people into the extremist cell.
It is noted that operational activities took place simultaneously in Dagestan and St. Petersburg. All suspects were detained. Prohibited literature was also seized during the search. A criminal case was opened against the suspects on organizing the activities of an extremist organization (parts 1, 2 of article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Investigators are clarifying the circumstances of the illegal activity.
BLUF: Three unnamed Dagestani men are accused of proselytizing and recruiting for an unnamed international terror group, probably one connected to ISIS or Al Nusra, both at home and in St. Petersburg. They were arrested over five years, 2018-2023 as were, one assumes, some of the unnamed persons they recruited. At some point they will be tried; perhaps then all will be identified.

I would like to see that in australia but Islamophobia Register Australia has lobbied to have muslim “community” representatives go into police stations to *educate* about islam
Claiming the state unfairly views them through a security lens.
As a result, police officers are hesitant to break up the street mobs fo fear of problems in their career
Will they be seen as islamophobic? Makes them reluctant to police islamist protesters
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Grieving families in North Carolina have been forced to bury their dead in their backyards - and are accusing authorities of downplaying the damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
The official death toll rose to 227 over the weekend - half of whom were from North Carolina - but state and federal officials told The Spectator that this number is woefully inaccurate.
Many bodies haven't even been recovered amid debris and flooding. There are also piles of deceased people who have yet to be identified. They are being transported all over the state in hopes of finding open morgue space.
'According to folks on the ground - fire, medical, law enforcement officials - they’re way underreporting the numbers. All the morgues are full and they’ve hauled a ton [of bodies] to Greensboro,' the state official said. 'People are starting to bury them in their yards because they have no place to put them.'
One individual who was in Asheville when Helene hit told The Spectator: 'It's so much worse than they're saying...I think there's a massive cover-up.'
The destruction from Helene, and the immense multi-state death toll, comes just days before Category 5 Hurricane Milton is set to barrel into Florida's coastline.
Helene made landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida at night on September 26 before laying waste to Georgia and the Carolinas with record storm surges and tornados.
North Carolina alone had six confirmed tornados on the morning of September 27, two days before 500 members of state's national guard were deployed to help with rescue efforts.
Locals say they are 'pissed' at General Major Todd Hunt, director of the North Carolina National Guard, for waiting a whole 48 hours to get boots on the ground.
I’m not sure that’s fair. Orienting and observing take more than a few seconds, surely.
There were 5,500 national guardsmen deployed around this time, some of them from other states such as Florida.
'That’s why you saw the Florida National Guard and other units out there - and why private citizens stepped in, even as state and federal officials tried to shut down their efforts,' an anonymous source familiar with the situation in North Carolina told The Spectator.
Before North Carolina national guardsmen were deployed, a four-year-old girl was killed in a car crash in Claremont, a town around 40 miles north of Charlotte.
Another person died after a tree fell on their Charlotte home.
In North Carolina's Buncombe County, 40 people have died, the county manager has stated.
Asheville, a popular tourist destination in Buncombe County, was one of the hardest hit towns, where scenes of complete devastation are all too common.
The small mountain town of Swannanoa dealt with flood levels not seen since 1791, and locals have said their community was 'entirely erased.'
This comes days after a whistleblower wrote a letter to Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., that details how the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has wasted and misappropriated funds in the wake of Helene and is now 'exacerbating the emergency.'
The letter to Gaetz also alleges 'hundreds if not thousands' of first responders and service members have been 'without deployment orders' with some waiting around in hotels while others 'have sat idle' as Americans throughout the southeast are in dire need.
Last week, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that FEMA ran out of money to make it through the hurricane season, after it handed out more than $1 billion in taxpayer dollars to give housing assistance to illegal migrants over the last two years.

Given the way the O'Biden Admin DOJ/_ _ _ & FEMA) handles things. The families, burying their own dead, will be charged, arrested, jailed and wait 3 years for a trial.
For those who do not know. The senior NG in each state is not chosen by DoD. It varies from state to state, but is often a political appointment without any prior military experience requirement. Per Article I, Sec 8 -
To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

Army veteran lawmaker airlifting 'life-saving' supplies to Hurricane Helene victims claims Biden and Harris' 'photo ops' have delayed rescue effort
Of course. Not specific to the current president and vice president, but common behaviour whenever VIPs come through to see for themselves… or be seen helping. The thoughtful ones like Ivanka Trump try to minimize the impact, or bring some extra supplies like President Trump did, but VIPs are by their nature disruptive in that environment.

Just got off the phone with family in Franklin - Hayesville WNC. They are north of US-64 in what has become 1/2 back country. What they have described is hideous and far worse than the media & gov is reporting. They're pulling over ripe bodies out of trees. Houses hit with the likes of tidal waves and bodies floating in ponds. The NOC and Anderson, NC got its share of problems also.
The FED's, as I was told, are their biggest hideous in their community rescue and recovery efforts. Little if any food or supplies getting into the areas.
My Nephew made a comment that I had not thought of.
It seems the general feeling in his area, is the Democrats in charge, are hiding the far greater death toll than claimed, minimizing the mess and inability to do handle things. Because it is so close to the election.
[X] That’ll be the political cadres and the moneymen, I imagine. The military leaders are busy getting themselves killed on the ground (or underground) in Gaza.
Israeli Channel 13 is reporting that Senior Hamas Leaders have fled from Lebanon and Iran in recent weeks, due to fears of Assassination by Israel; with most having taken Refuge in both Qatar and Turkey.
MUSK: "There’s no point in criticizing Kamala Harris, she’s simply the face of a much larger machine. She’ll say whatever is on the teleprompter. She’ll get stuck if the teleprompter breaks...it’s whoever controls the teleprompter who is in charge."
TUCKER: "Who is that?"
MUSK: "It’s not any one mastermind. Kamala is a sort of marionette with somewhere north of 100 (handlers)"
TUCKER: "I bet you know 80 of them."
MUSK: "I probably know most of them."

How to destroy her handlers - that is the million dollar question.
[IsraelTimes] Hamas leader reportedly has not softened stance during absence, is said to be surrounded by at least 20 hostages, carried 25 kg of dynamite in sole footage of him since Oct. 7
Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... leader Yahya Sinwar has reestablished contact with hostage-ceasefire deal mediators in Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... after weeks of silence that had stirred speculation he might have been killed in an Israeli strike in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... , according to multiple reports Monday.
Sinwar cut off contact because he believed Israel was uninterested in reaching a deal, unnamed sources with knowledge of the negotiations told the Channel 12 news site.
A senior Israeli official told the Walla news site it does not seem that Sinwar has in any way softened his positions on a hostage-and-ceasefire deal. Hamas has demanded a complete withdrawal of the military from Gaza and a permanent end to the war, while Israel has refused any arrangement that would allow the terror group to retain control of the Strip and rebuild its military strength.
Further dampening hopes for a deal, Channel 12 reported Sunday that Qatari officials had told hostage families that Israel’s "policy of liquidations" against terror group leaders is "incompatible" with reaching a deal.
"In the past, there was [former Hamas leader Ismail] Haniyeh and he was eliminated. Now there is Khaled Mashaal and he is much more difficult than Haniyeh," the officials told the hostage families, according to the report.
Haniyeh was killed in Tehran in July, in an liquidation blamed on Israel, though Jerusalem has not confirmed or denied its involvement.
The New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... reported Saturday that Sinwar’s long-running assessment that he will not survive the Gaza war has strengthened in recent weeks and that he believes a regional war would force Israel to scale back operations in Gaza — potentially precluding the need to release hostages to secure a ceasefire in the embattled Strip.
Channel 12 said Friday that government ministers have largely put the hostage issue on the back burner, as Israel has stepped up its attacks on Hezbollah in Leb ...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... over the past two weeks in a bid to stem the Iran-backed terror group’s incessant rocket attacks on the north.
Sinwar’s former Shin Bet security service interrogator told The Daily Mail on Monday that the Hamas leader was carrying 25 kilograms (some 55 pounds) of dynamite in footage of him walking through a tunnel days after the October 7 massacre.
The footage, released by the Israel Defense Forces in February, showed Sinwar walking through a Gaza tunnel with several of his family members and was the first and only publicized visual of the terror leader in the wake of October 7.
Kobi Michael also claimed that Sinwar had surrounded himself with "at least 20 hostages."
"A few times we have had the chance to kill him, but if we do, he will kill all the hostages around him," he said, predicting that Sinwar would never surrender, and is "dreaming" about remaining as the leader of Hamas and ruler of Gaza.
"He’s thinking now about the next massacre. That man must be killed," Michael said.
It is believed that 97 of the 251 hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 remain in Gaza, including the bodies of at least 34 confirmed dead by the IDF.
Hamas is also holding two Israeli civilians who entered the Strip in 2014 and 2015, as well as the bodies of two IDF soldiers who were killed in 2014.

[Regnum] Viktor Bout, a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk Region, called the publication in The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that he allegedly participated in negotiations with the Yemeni Houthis on arms supplies a hoax.
The WSJ article noted that the talks took place in Moscow in August and resulted in an agreement to supply the Houthis with AK-74 assault rifles. The purpose of this article is to raise the publication's rating, Bout said in an interview with Izvestia.
"In the absence of significant media personalities, American media outlets are using the brand of "arms baron" that they once promoted, known to the masses, and my name. And it is clear that all this is being done in order to attract more public attention to their publication and raise the publication's ratings, which have apparently sagged," Bout said.
He also noted that the article, whose title mentioned Vladimir Putin, was published on the Russian president's birthday, which is hardly a coincidence. The WSJ has become a biased publication, and the episode with the publication about the Houthis on the president's birthday could be mentioned in a fictional series that is currently being prepared in Russia, Booth added.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, previously noted that the Kremlin had studied this WSJ publication and was inclined to classify it as fake or informational attacks on Russian deputies.
Bout returned to Russia in December 2022 following a prisoner swap with the United States. American authorities had previously sentenced him to 25 years in prison for allegedly intending to engage in arms trafficking and supporting terrorism. In September 2023, Bout was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk Region from the LDPR.
Reports about the participation of Ulyanovsk Legislative Assembly deputy Viktor Bout in selling weapons to Yemeni Houthis are fake, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists on October 7.
He reported that the Kremlin had become familiar with the publication on this topic.
“We are inclined to classify this as a fake or information attack on our elected representatives,” Peskov said.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Bout, who was previously convicted in the United States on arms trafficking charges, allegedly participated in negotiations with Yemen's Houthis. The talks were said to have taken place in Moscow in August and resulted in an agreement to deliver AK-74 assault rifles to Yemen.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, Bout returned to Russia in December 2022 after a prisoner exchange with the United States. American authorities had previously sentenced the Russian businessman to 25 years in prison for intending to engage in arms trafficking and supporting terrorism. Bout was pardoned in Russia. In September 2023, he was elected as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk Region from the LDPR party.
[Regnum] The New Zealand Navy intelligence ship Manawanui ran aground and sank near Samoa, the news division of New Zealand television company 1News reported.
"The HMNZS Manawanui, a $100 million specialist diving and survey vessel, sank this morning after running aground on a reef off Upolu Island in Samoa and catching fire last night. Naval Commander Rear Admiral Garin Golding said Captain Yvonne Gray's decision to abandon ship was the 'right thing to do' and could have 'saved lives,'" the publication noted.
New Zealand Defence Minister Judith Collins said an investigation would be launched into the shipwreck, adding that the focus was now on dealing with the environmental impact of the accident.
"It's a 'sad day' for the Navy to lose a ship, but the fact that no one was killed is a 'triumph,'" she said.
The captain of the vessel was Yvonne Gray, for her it was her first experience on duty. The questionnaire on the New Zealand Navy website states that the captain of the vessel is in a "marital relationship" with a woman (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... holy warriors have clashed with Nigerian military troops in Niger State.
The holy warriors reportedly invaded Bassa town in the Shiroro Local Government Area, launching a violent mostly peaceful assault on the town.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, with residents awakened by the sound of sporadic gunfire. Some residents said the attack began around 5:30 a.m.
A resident, who requested anonymity for security reasons, recounted: ''Around 5:30 this morning, we started hearing heavy gunfire. We were certain it was an exchange of gunfire between the military and terrorists.
''The security forces advised residents to stay indoors while they engaged the assailants in a shootout. It was not immediately clear how many casualties were on the terrorists' side.''

[Regnum] The Houthis from the Yemeni rebel movement Ansar Allah carried out massive strikes on targets in Tel Aviv and Eilat, using missiles and drones. This was stated on October 7 by the movement's military spokesman Yahya Saria to the Al Masirah TV channel.
Saria explained that two missiles were used, one of which was hypersonic-dimensional. The strikes were carried out on military targets in Israel.
"We carried out two operations as part of the fifth phase of escalation, successfully hitting two targets," the Houthi spokesman said.
During the first operation, two military targets in Tel Aviv were hit with Palestine-2 and Zu Fikar missiles.
The Air Force also launched several drones at targets in the Jaffa and Umm al-Rashrash areas in southern occupied Palestine.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, Yemeni Houthis have attacked over 190 ships linked to Israel, the United States and Great Britain since October 7, 2023. This was stated by the leader of the Ansar Allah movement, Abdel Malik al-Houthi, on October 6.
Over the past year, militants have fired more than 1,000 missiles and drones, attacking 193 ships linked to Israel and its allies, and shot down 11 American MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and attack drones.
Yemen has been hit by 774 attacks, including bombings, that have killed 82 people and injured around 340 others.
On October 4, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported striking 15 targets in Yemen. The targets were said to be linked to Yemen's Houthi rebels. The strikes included offensive weapons.
Sometimes the link is that the attacked ship is in the water just like ships connected to Israel, America, and Britain, but it’s not fair to ask Yemeni jihadis for any deeper understanding than that. Do go on, O Russian apologetics writer:
This was stated on Sunday, October 6, by the leader of the rebel Shiite movement Ansar Allah, Abdel Malik al-Houthi.
"The results of Yemen's operations include striking the Israeli enemy in occupied Palestine and attacking ships associated with it in the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean," Al Masirah TV channel quotes him as saying.
The Houthi leader said that over the past year, the movement's militants have fired more than 1,000 missiles and drones, attacking 193 ships linked to Israel and its allies in the United States and Britain, and shot down 11 American MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and attack drones.
He added that during this period, Yemen was subjected to 774 attacks, including bombings, which killed 82 people and injured about 340 others.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on October 4, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported a strike on 15 targets in Yemen. It was claimed that the objects were linked to the Yemeni Houthis. The targets included offensive weapons.
In late September, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a major Israeli Air Force reconnaissance operation in which F-15 fighter jets and other aircraft attacked Houthi military targets in the Ras Isa and Hodeida areas of Yemen. The Israeli military said the targets included power plants and a seaport used to import oil and ship Iranian weapons to the region.
On September 23, Ansar Allah spokesman Yahya Saria said the Houthis had launched a massive attack on three US Navy destroyers, using 23 cruise and ballistic missiles and UAVs. He said all three destroyers were damaged in the attack.

[IsraelTimes] Sirens activate due to possibility of falling shrapnel as projectile intercepted with Arrow missile defense system; Houthis claim responsibility
A ballistic missile launched from Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... was successfully intercepted by Israeli air defenses after it triggered sirens across central Israel on Monday, the military said.
The surface-to-surface missile was shot down with the Arrow defense system, which is designed to take out ballistic missiles while they are still outside the atmosphere, the Israel Defense Forces said.
Sirens were triggered across central Israel due to the possibility of falling shrapnel from the interception.
Yemen’s Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... s claimed to have fired two missiles at military targets in central Israel. They said one missile was a Paleostine 2 and it "reached" its target. The group said the second was a Dhu al-Fiqar missile but did not describe its outcome.
The Yemeni group said the operation "successfully achieved its objectives" and it targeted several drones at Jaffa and Eilat. Israel only mentioned the intercepted surface-to-surface missile, without referring to the drones or a second missile.
The rebel group has fired over 220 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones at Israel over the past year — mostly toward the southernmost city of Eilat — saying that the attacks are in solidarity with Paleostinians in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. Strip, where Israel has been battling Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... since the terror group’s October 7 attack.
The latest attack came on the one-year anniversary of the terror onslaught.
On Thursday, the Iran-backed rebel group grabbed credit for overnight drone attacks on central Israel. Two were shot down, while another impacted an open area, the IDF said.
The Houthis have also targeted ships traveling through the Red Sea, which once saw $1 trillion a year of cargo pass through it.
They have targeted more than 80 merchant vessels with missiles and drones since the war in Gaza started last October, including seizing one vessel and sinking two in a campaign that also killed four sailors. Other missiles and drones have either been intercepted by a US-led coalition in the Red Sea or failed to reach their targets, which have included Western military vessels.
The rebels maintain that they target ships linked to Israel, the US, or the United Kingdom to force an end to Israel’s campaign against the Hamas terror group in Gaza. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well... many of the ships attacked have little or no connection to the conflict, including some bound for Iran.
We didn't have Mark Steyn here for a long time
[SteynOnline] Today is the first anniversary of the worst one-day slaughter of Jews since the Second World War, and the start of what John Derbyshire calls the Israel-Iran War, on multiplying fronts.
There will be many observances of October 7th today. You might think that, if one's principal concern is the "disproportionate" nature of the Israeli reprisals, one might schedule the protest marches for the first anniversary of the Zionist Entity's counter-attacks, its first strikes on Gaza. Instead, in almost every major city across the west, the big parades are happening on the anniversary of October 7th - which risks giving the unfortunate impression that what they're really commemorating (indeed, celebrating) is the big pile of Jew corpses, plus the attendant hostage-taking, baby-burning, mutilations, decapitations and industrial-scale gang-rape.
Four weeks from US Election "Day", the Democrat candidate for president is disinclined to be caught on camera expressing any public support for Israel lest it cost her Michigan. She seems pretty confident that American Jews will vote for her anyway, even as the monsters their party has incubated have made their feelings plain on every university campus you've ever heard of. The pitiful rationalisations of wealthy, assimilated Jews in the Germany of ninety years ago are recycled even more pitifully by lifelong Jewish Democrats on the Upper West Side: This will pass.
It won't. For western Jewry, the electoral arithmetic is brutal - in the US, in Canada, Britain, France and beyond. Here are the scenes from my hometown, as described by "journalist" Samira Mohyeddin:
Tens of thousands marching in Toronto to mark one year of Israel’s relentless bombardment and genocide in Gaza. I can’t see the beginning or end of the procession.
...It is a melancholy fact that His Majesty's Constabulary, from Ottawa to London to Sydney, has been hollowed out by Islamic appeasers. Among the general public, a big chunk of the western left is turned on by the bloodlust of Islam; a significant portion of the western right, on the other hand, increasingly blames Jews for transforming their nations into semi-Islamic dumps.
...The Jewish state's present international isolation will worsen in the years ahead. Then again, their prospects are not as grim as, say, Canada's. Although many questions remain about how October 7th was permitted to happen, the Zionist Entity appears to have recovered its mojo in recent weeks, knocking off Hizb'allah bigwigs on a daily basis and ensuring that the footsoldiers no longer feel safe carrying any pocket gizmos.
