IDF says most civilians in Jabalia have evacuated despite Hamas intimidation efforts
[IsraelTimes] The vast majority of the Paleostinian civilian population that had been residing in northern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
’s Jabalia has evacuated, as the IDF presses on with an offensive against Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
in the area and other towns north of Gaza City.

The IDF says it has managed to move more than 55,000 civilians out of Jabalia after Hamas was allegedly forcing them to stay there to act as a human shield for their activities. Some 60,000 Paleostinians were estimated to have been in Jabalia before the latest operation was launched last month.

The population has largely moved to Gaza City, with only a few dozen crossing the IDF’s Netzarim Corridor and heading to the Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in the Strip’s south.

According to the IDF, it has evidence and testimonies that Hamas shot, beat, and in some cases, executed civilians trying to flee the Jabalia area.

The IDF says it seeks to clear the town of civilians to enable a cleaner operation against terror operatives, without risking the lives of innocents, while Hamas attempts to hide behind the population.

Senior officers deny that the army is carrying out the so-called generals’ plan to lay siege to northern Gaza, promoted by a group of senior IDF retirees. Under the plan, north Gaza would become a military zone where everyone is a target, and no supplies would enter the territory.

On the ground, dozens of aid trucks are entering northern Gaza each day, via the two Erez crossings, and the civilian population is being safely evacuated and not intentionally targeted, according to the IDF.

The military says it has captured 700 members of Hamas and other terror groups who surrendered to forces during the evacuation of civilians in Jabalia. Among those captured are dozens who participated in the October 7 onslaught, including the raid on the Erez Crossing, the IDF says.

The detained terror operatives are providing the IDF with useful intelligence, the military says.

As of this morning, more than 1,000 terror operatives have also been killed amid the latest fighting in Jabalia, according to the IDF.

The IDF’s latest estimate puts the total number of people still in Jabalia at several hundred. Several thousand Paleostinians also remain in Beit Lahiya, Beit Hanoun, and other northern Gaza towns, where the military plans to operate against Hamas as part of the ongoing offensive.

North Gaza’s towns, including Jabalia, are now disconnected from Gaza City amid the ongoing operation, which the IDF says is to prevent Hamas operatives from escaping or alternatively, from bringing in reinforcements from Gaza City, where thousands of terror operatives are thought to be.

The ongoing operation is being carried out by the 162nd Division, with the 401st Armored Brigade, and the Givati and Kfir infantry brigades.

Amid the operation, the IDF says it has discovered over 200 homes that were booby-trapped with explosives. In two cases, the bombs were not discovered before troops entered the buildings, leading to casualties.

The operation marks the fourth push into Jabalia by the IDF since the start of the war a year ago. The military assesses that this operation will finally break Hamas’s forces in Jabalia, and it will no longer represent the terror group’s "most significant center of gravity" in northern Gaza.

Nineteen IDF soldiers and officers have been killed during the Jabalia operation so far, including the commander of the 401st Armored Brigade.

Over 100 patients to be evacuated from Gaza via Israel today, WHO says

[IsraelTimes] More than 100 patients including children suffering from trauma injuries and chronic diseases will be evacuated from Gaza today in a rare transfer out of the war-ravaged enclave, a World Health Organization official says.

“These are ad hoc measures. What we have requested repeatedly is a sustained medevac [medical evacuation] outside of Gaza,” says Rik Peeperkorn, adding that 12,000 people were awaiting transfer.

The patients will travel in a large convoy via the Kerem Shalom Crossing with Israel before flying to the United Arab Emirates, he adds, and then a portion will travel to Romania.
Generous of them.

Turley: Donald Trump just won the greatest jury verdict in American history
[Hill] Nearly two years ago, I wrote that Democratic prosecutors’ lawfare campaign against Donald Trump would make the 2024 election the single largest jury decision in history. Now that the verdict is in, the question is whether prosecutors will continue their unrelenting campaign against the president-elect and his companies.

The answer is that it may not matter.

The election reflected a certain gag sensation for a public fed a relentless diet of panic and identity politics for eight years. The 2024 election will come to be viewed as one of the biggest political and cultural shifts in our history. It was the mainstream-media-versus-new media election; the Rogan-versus-Oprah election; the establishment-versus-a-disassociated-electorate election.

It was also a thorough rejection of lawfare. One of the things most frustrating for Trump’s opponents was that every trial or hearing seemed to give Trump a boost in the polls. As cases piled up in Washington, New York, Florida and Georgia, the effort seemed to move more toward political acclamation than isolation.

Now, these cases are now legal versions of the Flying Dutchman — ships destined to sail endlessly but never make port.

If there is a single captain of that hapless crew, it is Special Counsel Jack Smith. For more than a year, Smith sought to secure a verdict in one of his two cases in Washington and Florida before the election. His urgency was seemingly shared by Judge Tanya Chutkan in Washington, but by few other judges or justices.

Around 2 am, Smith became a lame-duck prosecutor. Trump ran on ending his prosecutions and can cite a political mandate for it. Certainly, had he lost, the other side would be claiming a mandate for these prosecutions.

Trump’s new attorney general could remove Smith and order the termination of his continued prosecution. That is less of a problem in Florida, where a federal judge had already tossed out the prosecution of the classified documents case, which some of us saw as the greatest threat against Trump.

In Washington, Chutkan, who proved both motivated and active in pushing forward the election interference case, could complicate matters. Under federal rules, it is up to Chutkan to order any dismissal.

In the case of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, Judge Emmet Sullivan resisted granting the dismissal sought by the Justice Department — a record that I criticized as both unusual and unwarranted.

Chutkan could run the incoming Trump administration around on any dismissal, but in the end, it should succeed in ending Smith’s ill-considered indictment. In reality, Smith was not only losing the Florida case but was likely to be reversed again in Washington due to his refusal to make sufficient changes in his indictment of Trump after the recent immunity decision by the Supreme Court.

Smith could make one last push to damage Trump in the period before the inauguration by pushing for an immunity decision from Chutkan. He would again likely find a supportive ally in Chutkan.

However, in the end, this would do little to change the fact that the Flying Dutchman will soon be without a crew or port of call.

One of the most immediate cases to resume is the prosecution in Manhattan by District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Many, including commentators like CNN’s senior legal analyst Elie Honig, have denounced that case as legally flawed and obviously politically motivated.

Judge Juan Merchan has scheduled a hearing on the immunity issue for Nov. 11 and possible sentencing on Nov. 26. Merchan has shown a pronounced bias against Trump in the past, and his counsel is likely anticipating a continuation of this pattern.

Merchan could sentence Trump to jail. However, such an abusive sentencing, even a brief one, would likely trigger an expedited appeal and would likely be stayed. Trump cannot pardon himself in a state case, but the case itself is a target-rich environment of arguable legal errors that could collapse on appeal.

Another case in New York is likely to move forward now. There is a pending appeal on the massive civil case against Trump brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James. For many, James is the very face of lawfare as a prosecutor who ran on getting Trump on something, anything.

She ultimately secured another openly biased judge in Justice Arthur Engoron, who imposed an absurd, grotesque $455 million in fines and interest against Trump and his corporation. Notably, some of the judges on the appellate panel seemed to agree with that assessment, questioning not just the amount but the very use of this law in a case where there was no victim no one lost a single dollar due to the fraud alleged.

My assumption is that the opinion is already written, held back only because of the election. It could now be issued and constitute a major change in the case. Whatever is left of that judgment, if anything, would then certainly be appealed.

Then there is the roaring dumpster fire in Georgia. An appellate court there will decide whether District Attorney Fani Willis and her office can continue prosecuting the case. If they are forced off the case, a new prosecutor must review the matter. While some criminal allegations against defendants can be established, the alleged racketeering conspiracy against Trump is legally flawed and likely to fail on appeal.

Trump will also continue to appeal civil cases such as the E. Jean Carroll case, which will linger long past the election.

Trump will not be the only defendant to see substantial changes on January 20, 2025. Trump has pledged to pardon those prosecuted over the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot. The public elected him despite that pledge and over the opposition of Democrats. That will affect hundreds and may come in the form of a mix of pardons and commutations, depending on the underlying charges.

One lingering question will be whether those who supported this lawfare will be deterred in the future. The thrill-kill politics practiced by figures like James proved costly in this election. Polls showed that many citizens have lost trust in the FBI and now view the criminal law process as being politicized in places like New York.

The next few weeks will determine whether Democratic leaders are ready for a new course in ending the lawfare.

President Biden could pardon Trump. It would be a poison-pill pardon. Trump does not need a pardon as the incoming president, but Biden could take the matter off the table by treating him as presumptively guilty. He could not only claim to have taken the higher ground (even though he ran on and promoted the prosecutions of Trump as legitimate) but use it as cover for pardoning his own son.

New York Gov. Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) could also move to pardon Trump on the New York charges. Hochul was widely criticized for calling Trump supporters (now the majority of voters in the nation) “un-American.” She could seek to make amends with a pardon.

In the end, Trump read the jury correctly. Once the lawfare was unleashed, he focused on putting his case to the public and walked away with a clear majority decision. It is unlikely that this will end all of his lawfare battles, but it may effectively end the war.

America Unburdens Itself From What Has Been
[Bee] Donald Trump has defeated Kamala Harris to become the next president of the United States, proving once and for all that Americans are ready to unburden themselves from what has been.

Sources say the unburdening could lead to unprecedented levels of imagining what can be.

"Kamala was a huge burden, but now it's time for us to be unburdened, more unburdened than ever before," Donald Trump said as he addressed crowds at the Palm Beach Convention Center. "She was so terrible. But now she's gone. She's a ’has-been.' So sad. Maybe she can work at McDonald's now."

Report: Kamala Already Switching to Box Wine

His supporters roared in approval, hanging onto every word as Trump reminded them of his plans for the first 100 days in office now that the nation has been unburdened from Kamala's glaring incompetence.

Sources within the Trump campaign say the president wasn't nervous at all leading up to the election thanks in part to his new spiritual advisors Joe Rogan and Elon Musk. Instead of panicking, Trump reportedly spent most days working on his golf game in between campaign stops and owning libs on Twitter.

At publishing time, Trump's new efficiency advisor Ron Paul encouraged the nation to imagine what could be if there were no Federal Reserve.

#8  So far the worst thing about Election 2024 is the large percentage of the electorate who voted for Harris/Walz. Biden AFAICT never polled less than a 30% approval rate, very high considering his lousy performance. The results are a squeaker, not a landslide.

Then get to the deportations.

Harris calls Trump to concede defeat, discusses need for peaceful transfer of power

Kamala Harris called President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday to concede the election and congratulate him on his victory, according to a senior adviser to the vice president.

The aide, who declines to be identified discussing a private conversation, says Harris talked about the need for a peaceful transfer of power.

Harris, once viewed as a potential savior for the Democratic Party after Joe Biden’s reelection campaign stalled, is reckoning with a profound rejection by American voters in this year’s presidential election.

She trailed in every battleground state to Donald Trump, a man she described as an existential danger to the country’s foundational institutions. And Trump appeared on track to win the popular vote for the first time in his three campaigns for the White House — even after two impeachments, felony convictions and his attempt to overturn his previous election loss.

Harris planns to deliver a concession speech Wednesday at 4 p.m., her office announces. She’ll speak at Howard University, her alma mater in Washington, where her supporters watched returns Tuesday night before being sent home after midnight as Trump pulled ahead in battleground states.

In a bitter footnote for Harris, as the sitting vice president she is expected to oversee Congress’ ceremonial certification of the election.

How Beijing is ruthlessly amassing the world's biggest DNA database
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] … much of it harvested from millions in the West

The head of GCHQ, Britain’s signals intelligence agency, has warned that synthetic biology and genetics, alongside artificial intelligence, are technologies in which China is seeking to dominate in order to gain control of ‘the global operating system’.

Compare that to Beijing’s great ally Vladimir Putin, who has waxed lyrical about the prospect of creating a Russian soldier ‘who can fight without fear, compassion, regret or pain’.

With few of the ethical constraints that govern genomic research in the West, China has made the greatest strides towards that terrifying goal.

In September, the US House of Representatives was sufficiently worried about national security to pass the Biosecure Act to restrict business with the BGI Group, which manages China’s National Gene Bank on behalf of the government, as well as several other Chinese biotech companies.

BGI pioneered an advanced genetic sequencing system, which is being promoted worldwide as a medical tool.

Called ‘Huo-Yan’, or ‘Fire Eye’ in English, the name derives from the story of a mythical Chinese monkey king with the capacity to see through disguises to spot imposters in the royal palace.

‘Fire eyes can see the essence of everything,’ says the company’s website. The US National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence has warned that the system may be ‘a global collection mechanism for Chinese government genetic databases, providing China with greater raw numbers and diversity of human genome samples as well as access to sensitive personal information about key individuals around the world.’

BGI has worked with the Chinese army on at least 12 research projects that include efforts to improve ‘population quality’ and on genetic research to combat hearing loss and altitude sickness in soldiers, according to a review of research, patent filings and other documents obtained by the Reuters news agency.

When it comes to gaining an economic or military edge, the size and diversity of genetic data is crucial – which is why harvesting it beyond China is so important to the CCP. For example, BGI produces a best-selling prenatal Non-Invasive Fetal Trisomy (or Nifty) test, which involves the analysis of blood samples and can cost as much as £500 in fertility clinics.

The test is used by millions of pregnant women globally and was reportedly developed in collaboration with the Chinese military.

It is one of the world’s top-selling non-invasive tests to detect abnormalities such as Down’s Syndrome, and is sold in at least 52 countries, including the UK, raising fears that the data is being transferred to China for possible military research.

US to test hypersonic nuclear missile TONIGHT just hours after election polls close
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The US military is set to conduct a test launch of a hypersonic nuclear missile hours after polls close on Election Day.

An unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) is scheduled to blast off between 11:01pm and 5:01am PT from California's Vandenberg Space Force Base.

Some Americans have expressed concerns about the nuclear weapon test on the same day as the country is casting their votes for the next president.

But military officials noted that the 'test is routine and was scheduled years in advance.'

They said the purpose of the test was to show the 'readiness of nuclear US forces' and provide 'confidence in the nation's nuclear deterrence' amid fears of the growing threat of the outbreak of World War III.

The exercise will see the ICBM travel 4,200 miles from the base to Kwajalein Atoll, a small island in the North Pacific, which will take about 22 minutes.

The weapon can reach speeds over 15,000 miles per hour, allowing it to hit any target worldwide in just 30 minutes after launch.

Moscow sits about 5,900 miles from California, while Beijing is about 6,000 miles away - the two nations deemed a threat to the US.

ICBM is one of two currently used by America - the other is submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) that are deployed from underwater submarines.

However, the US's Titan topped speeds of 16,000mph when it was used from 1963 through 1987.

Titan was capable of traveling to a target more than 6,000 miles away in less than 30 minutes.

But the missile was phased out to make way for more advanced systems such as the MX Peacekeeper that had a similar speed and distance.

ICBM is a vital component of the US military's nuclear forces, capable of delivering a nuclear payload to targets around the world, but is scheduled to be phased out by 2029 and replaced with the LGM-35A Sentinel ICBM.

The US Air Force said that 'the Sentinel weapon system is the most cost-effective option for maintaining a safe, secure, and effective land-based leg of the nuclear triad and would extend its capabilities through 2075.'

The upcoming weapon will replace the 400 Minuteman III ICBMs currently in service for more than 50 years in Air Force missile fields at F.E. Warren Air Force Base (AFB), Wyoming; Malmstrom AFB, Montana; and Minot AFB, North Dakota.

The California base conducted the same test in June

Britain
UK anti-Israel activists who ‘abducted’ busts of Weizmann post threats on social media
If Mossad happens to be interested in a road trip…
[IsraelTimes] Palestine Action group shares photo of sculptures of Israel’s first president wrapped in keffiyeh scarves, threatens to send ‘an ear’ to US Jewish group that offered reward

Days after Paleostine Action published footage of activists stealing two busts of Chaim Weizmann from the University of Manchester, the British anti-Israel group posted threats on social media on Monday lauding the "abduction" of the statues of Israel’s first president.

Greater Manchester Police said that they were investigating the incident on Saturday.

A photo posted to X on Monday showed the busts wrapped in keffiyeh headscarves, an emblem of solidarity with the Paleostinian cause.

Another post threatened to send "one ear" from the sculptures in exchange for the reward offered by Betar US, a right-wing pro-Israel group that traces its roots to pre-state Zionist activist Zeev Jabotinsky.
I say let them smash it to bits. If the University of Manchester can’t be bothered to protect this memento of one of their most famous scholars, they deserve to lose it just as Britain lost the man himself to Israel. There are plenty more equally artistic statues of the man, I imagine, and an entire nation to look at for those who want a trigger for memory.
On Saturday, Paleostine Action said that activists had taken the sculptures of the late Israeli leader from the university in northern England because he "secured" the 1917 Balfour Declaration, "which began the ethnic cleansing of Paleostine by signing the land away."

Over the weekend, the activist group also sprayed the London office of the Jewish National Fund (JNF) with red paint and carried out a similar protest at the Britannia Israel Communications and Research Centre (BICOM) lobby group’s headquarters in London.

It also collaborated with students from the University of Cambridge, where Balfour was educated, to spray the university’s Institute of Manufacturing and Senate House.

The group said the activists stole the busts to mark the 107th anniversary of the declaration, in which the British government issued a commitment to "establish in Paleostine a national home for the Jewish people," which was at the time governed by the Ottoman Empire.

The declaration is considered the first of many steps that led to the creation of Israel.

Weizmann, who worked as a biochemistry professor at the University of Manchester, was a leading statesman of the Zionist movement in the early 1900s. He spearheaded the international diplomatic efforts that led to international recognition of the budding Jewish state and is considered one of Israel’s founding fathers.

Zakharova wishes the US to overcome the internal split in society
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, wished the United States to overcome the internal split in society regardless of the results of the presidential elections. The diplomat stated this on November 5 in a commentary to the RT TV channel.

"Now the main pain of America as a nation and people is to somehow, first of all, make sure that these results are accepted by American society itself, given the experience of the past elections. And secondly, whatever the outcome, it is obvious that they will have to overcome the internal emotional split," Zakharova explained.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that Americans are literally ready to attack each other just because another person wears symbols or campaigns for a politician who is believed and trusted. What is happening is not democracy or the standards set by the US itself, and the most monstrous thing is that this is being done on such a scale, the speaker noted.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, on November 5, Maria Zakharova stated that the US authorities have once again started the old refrain about Russia's alleged interference in the elections. According to her, these claims by Washington do not correspond to reality. US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are so actively accusing each other of lying that other countries have "nothing to do" here, the diplomat added ironically.

The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov stated that the results of the presidential elections in the United States are not important for Russia.

The election of the 47th President of the United States began on November 5. Polling stations opened in most states of the country, with polling stations opening at 07:00 Eastern Time (15:00 Moscow time). Voting will cover the entire country from 14:00 Eastern Time (20:00 Moscow time) and will end after the polls close in Alaska on November 6 at 01:00 (09:00 Moscow time).

US is repeating the same old story about Russia's interference in the elections, Zakharova said

The US authorities have once again started the old refrain about Russia’s alleged interference in the elections, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on November 5.

These claims from Washington do not correspond to reality, Zakharova told journalists on the sidelines of the 21st meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

"Right now the whole world is frozen not in anticipation, but in fact in horror from the electoral processes that are unfolding in the USA. They are constantly starting their charcoal hurdy-gurdy that someone is interfering in their elections. American intelligence services have already accused Russia and other countries again of spreading lies about the American elections and allegedly spreading lies within American society as well," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.

US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are so actively accusing each other of lying that other countries have “nothing to do,” Zakharova added ironically.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously noted that the presidential elections in the United States are taking place against the backdrop of a crisis of democracy and a split in society, and wished the American people to overcome this stage.

Polling stations for the US presidential election have already opened in all states of the country. On November 1, the media reported that the number of citizens who voted early in the US presidential election exceeded 70 million. Harris was one of those who voted early.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov previously stated that the results of the US presidential elections are not important for Russia. President Vladimir Putin noted that Russia would support Harris. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov explained that these words of the head of state were a joke.

Kenyan Jihadi is convicted of plotting a 9/11-style terror attack in America on behalf of al-Shabab
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Kenyan member of terrorist group al-Shabab has been convicted of plotting to fly an airliner into a United States' skyscraper after training as a pilot in the Philippines.

Cholo Abdi Abdullah, 34, was found guilty on all six accounts he faced for the 9/11 style attack by a federal jury in Manhattan on Monday, court records show.

He's faces a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in March.

Abdullah was arrested in 2019 in the Philippines with an improvised explosive device, a hand grenade and a gun, CNN reported at the time.

Prosecutors said he planned the attack for four years, undergoing extensive training in explosives and how to operate in secret and avoid detection.

He then moved to the Philippines in 2017 where he began training as a commercial pilot.

Abdullah was almost finished with his two-year pilot training when he was arrested in 2019 on local charges.

He was transferred the following year to US law enforcement authorities, who charged him with terrorism related crimes.

Prosecutors said Abdullah also researched how to breach a cockpit door and information 'about the tallest building in a major US city' before he was caught.

The State Department in 2008 designated al-Shabab, which means 'the youth' in Arabic, as a foreign terrorist organization.

The militant group is an al-Qaida affiliate that has fought to establish an Islamic state in Somalia based on Shariah law.

Abdullah represented himself during the trial, which opened last week.

He declined to give an opening statement and did not actively participate in questioning witnesses.

In court papers filed ahead of the trial, prosecutors said Abdullah intended to 'merely sit passively during the trial, not oppose the prosecution and whatever the outcome, he would accept the outcome because he does not believe that this is a legitimate system.'

Lawyers appointed to assist Abdullah in his self-defense didn't respond to an email seeking comment Monday.

Tel Aviv on fire after Gallant fired - but only thousands of protestors instead of hundreds of thousands; US officials ‘concerned’
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Pro-Netanyahu channel says protests ‘failed,’ noting low turnout
[IsraelTimes] A news station seen as heavily supportive of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says protesters “failed emphatically” to repeat the 2023 demonstrations that forced the premier to walk back his first attempted firing of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, noting the significantly smaller turnout.

“Hundreds, maybe thousands of protesters indeed went out into the streets, after millions of cell phones got text messages calling on them to take to the streets,” Channel 14 says in its coverage of the protests. “There were a few protests in various places, the largest among them on the Ayalon [highway] in Tel Aviv.”

Indeed, the number of protesters to show out appears to have paled in comparison to March 2023, though there are no crowd numbers from organizers or officials.

On the Ayalon, all protesters have now been removed from both sides of the Tel Aviv highway, according to media reports, though detritus from the rallies, including bonfires set by demonstrators, is still being cleared before traffic can resume.
Courtesy of Skidmark, the Times of Israel reports five arrested at the protests.

Netanyahu fires Gallant, says disagreements, lack of mutual trust helped the enemy
[IsraelTimes] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Tuesday evening, citing a lack of mutual trust during a time of war as his reason for doing so.

Gallant will be replaced by Foreign Minister Israel Katz, while Minister without Portfolio Gideon Sa’ar will replace Katz in the Foreign Ministry.

In a terse letter that the Prime Minister’s Office said was handed to Gallant during an 8 p.m. meeting, Netanyahu informed him that his tenure would end "48 hours from the receipt of this letter."

"I would like to thank you for your service as defense minister," the curt letter concluded.

Following the brief interaction, Netanyahu left the room and recorded the video in which he announced the firing of his longtime Likud party rival, Channel 12 news reported.

"Unfortunately, although in the first months of the war there was trust and there was very fruitful work, during the last months this trust cracked between me and the defense minister," said Netanyahu in the video statement.

He said that the two disagreed on the management of the war, and that Gallant had made statements and taken actions that contradicted cabinet decisions. The premier also accused Gallant of indirectly aiding Israel’s enemies.

"I made many attempts to bridge these gaps, but they kept getting wider," he said. "They also came to the knowledge of the public in an unacceptable way, and worse than that, they came to the knowledge of the enemy — our enemies enjoyed it and derived a lot of benefit from it."

The "crisis of faith" with the defense minister "does not enable the proper continuation of the [military] campaign," Netanyahu continued.

He said that most members of the government and cabinet were in agreement with him "that this cannot continue. In light of this, I decided today to end the tenure of the defense minister."

Tuesday’s announcement is the second time in under two years that Netanyahu has fired Gallant from the post of defense minister. In March 2023, Netanyahu fired Gallant a day after the latter called for pausing the legislation process of the government’s contentious judicial overhaul plans, which he said caused divisions that posed a threat to Israel’s security. He was reinstated less than a month later, however, and was at the helm of the Defense Ministry when Hamas

Following his dismissal on Tuesday, Gallant issued a one-line statement of his own, writing on X that "the security of the State of Israel always was, and will always remain, my life’s mission."

The statement was identical to the one he published on the night of his first firing, 18 months ago.

He elaborated at a presser later on Tuesday night, where he appeared visibly emotional as he explained that the reason for his dismissal was threefold: The need to draft Haredi men to the IDF, the imperative to bring back the hostages from Gaza, and the need for a state commission of inquiry in the October 7 Hamas terror onslaught and ensuing war.

The issue of the Haredi draft, he said, "isn’t only a social one, but is a topic central to our existence — the security of Israel and the nation that sits in Zion."

Israel will be facing complex challenges in the coming years, he said. "In these circumstances, there is no choice. Everyone must serve in the IDF, and participate in the mission of defending Israel."

Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi sought to tie Gallant’s dismissal to his recent calls for the ousting of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara who, like Gallant, has clashed with the government several times over laws and decisions she deems to be illegal.

Meanwhile,

MQG was previously known as V15 (for Victory 15, 2015 being the previous election Bibi won against the will of a Democratic president), both names being fig leaves for its true identity as the Israeli branch of the Washington, DC-based OneVoice Movement founded by Progressive multi-billionaire Daniel Lubetzky in 2002 as an international “grassroots” front of his PeaceWorks Foundation to drive Israel to fulfill his vision for the region without him bothering to become a citizen. dubbed “Gallant Night 2,” though the rallies appeared to be significantly smaller than last year.

Protests erupted in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, while dozens were reported to be protesting in Haifa, Nahariya and other communities in northern Israel, in defiance of Home Front Command instructions to limit public gatherings amid persistent rocket fire from Lebanon.

In Tel Aviv, thousands took advantage of the spontaneous nature of the protest and descended onto the Ayalon Highway, blocking traffic in both directions as police were unable to seal the entrances to the thoroughfare with trucks, as they usually do for the weekly Saturday night protests.

In Jerusalem, crowds gathered near Netanyahu’s private residence on Azza Street, calling for the removal of the premier, whom they called a “tyrant,” and for the release of the hostages held by Hamas.

The Hostages Families Forum called the firing of Gallant a “direct continuation of the efforts to torpedo the hostage deal.”

Heh.

He did not get much credit for it, but IMAO, one of Trump's big accomplishments in his previous term was squeezing China out of NAFTA. China was not formally a member of the North American Free Trade Agreement in the same way that Turkey is part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. But they were shipping goods to Canada where they would be repackaged, stamped Made in Canada, and then shipped to the US tariff free.

Local clashes in West Kordofan trigger curfew
[SUDANTRIBUNE] A curfew was imposed in En Nuhud, West Kordofan, on Monday after festivities between police and army-allied paramilitaries killed at least three people, including a police officer.

The violence erupted like lava from a volcano when members of the Reserve Forces, a tribal militia, tried to commandeer a customs police vehicle, according to the militia's commander.

Reserve Forces commander Hamad al-Safi Hamad said they were acting on orders from a state security committee to use all government vehicles for the war effort against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

But police intervened, demanding the vehicle's return. This led to a shootout at the Reserve Forces headquarters that killed two militia leaders and a police officer, Hamad said in a voice recording.

The Reserve Forces are mainly drawn from the Hamar tribe and have been fighting alongside the army against the RSF in West Kordofan.

Hamad accused members of the security forces of trying to ''spread chaos'' in En Nuhud, which has become the state's temporary capital since the army lost control of Babanusa.

The RSF controls most of West Kordofan, but En Nuhud and the army's main headquarters in Babanusa remain under army control.

Iraqi group claims fresh drone attacks on Israel
[IsraelTimes] An Iran-backed militia in Iraq claims to have fired drones at Israel in a pair of statements.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq says it fired drones at an unspecified site in “the southern occupied territories,” apparently referring to Israel’s south.

The group also says it attacked a “vital target” in Haifa.

Earlier, the Israeli military said it downed two drones fired from Iraq, including one that entered Israeli airspace in the Arava Desert, close to Ramon Airport.

The second drone was shot down before entering Israeli airspace, the military said.

Those attacks were also claimed by the Iraqi group.

There are no reports of drone attacks in Israel since then and no sirens have been activated.

Swedish court sentences far-right politician for insulting Muslims
[IsraelTimes] A Swedish court sentences a far-right politician to four months in jail for two counts of “incitement against an ethnic group” after making hateful comments at political rallies two years ago.

The Danish-Swedish 42-year-old man, who was not named but has been identified by Swedish media as Rasmus Paludan, founder and head of the Danish nationalist anti-immigration party Stram Kurs, had been previously convicted and sentenced by a Danish court on a similar charge, the Malmo District Court says.

In 2022, Paludan made his offensive remarks directed at Muslims, Arabs and Africans during protests that he led in the southern city of Malmo in 2022, the court said. He also burned a copy of the Quran, Islam’s holy book, on at least one occasion. In response, a violent wave of riots swept the country.

Knesset passes law allowing Education Ministry to fire teachers who publicly identify with acts of terror
More regaining control of the culture.
[israelTimes] A law authorizing the Education Ministry to dismiss teachers who publicly identify with an act of terrorism passes its final reading in the Knesset 55-45.

According to its explanatory notes, the bill, which also allows the ministry to cut funding for schools that have shown support for or identification with a terrorist act or a terrorist organization, is primarily aimed at Arab schools in East Jerusalem where there is “incitement of minors against the State of Israel alongside the glorification of terrorists” whose “destructive and long-term effect, among other things, may be expressed in the large number of minors living in East Jerusalem who carry out or attempt to carry out terrorist attacks.”

“Education is a central and significant factor that motivates many terrorist attacks against the State of Israel,” says far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

Teachers are among the most significant influences on children and the bill was “designed to make sure that a teacher does not use his influence for terrorist activity by his students and that the school does not allow this to happen,” says bill co-sponsor MK Zvika Fogel (Otzma Yehudit).

Teachers who identify with terrorism can teach “in Tehran, Gaza or Ramallah today, but not in our schools,” declares co-sponsor Likud MK Amit Halevi.

“As we know, a bomb is not created and does not explode by itself. Its basic components are the brain and the heart, the consciousness of destruction, and the emotional fervor to carry it out, and these are created first of all in the educational system,” he adds. “One teacher may raise dozens of ticking bombs every year. One idea can be more destructive than a thousand tanks.”

Over 60 PFLP operatives arrested in West Bank and Lebanon, 7 toes up — IDF, Shin Bet
[IsraelTimes] Authorities say key figures in terror group among those nabbed; PA says 2 dead in airstrike in Jenin area plus 2 others in clash near Nablus

Over 60 operatives from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine organization have been arrested in counterterror operations in the West Bank and Leb

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? Among those arrested in the West Bank was the head of the Women’s Committees Association of the PFLP, Abla Sa’adat, the wife of PFLP head Ahmad Sa’adat who has been incarcerated

The Women’s Committees Association of the PFLP has been declared to be a terror organization by Israel.

The IDF and Shin Bet said key figures who served as the heads of the PFLP in the West Bank were among those arrested, in addition to bully boyz who operated in the field for the organization.

The statement added that students at West Bank universities who were active members of PFLP cells at the educational institutions were also detained.

Offices and businesses were raided and closed down by troops, including a printing press that produced inflammatory materials for the PFLP.

The statement also said that the military has been acting against the terror group in Lebanon since the killing of the PFLP commander at the end of September. According to the military and Shin Bet, Nidal Abd al-Aal was involved in planning and advancing terror attacks in the West Bank.

The PA ministry and Paleostinian media reports said two people were killed in an airstrike on a vehicle in Qabatiya and two in a standoff with troops in the nearby Tammun area, north of Nablus.

The Maan news agency claimed that an earlier drone attack in Tammun involved more than one missile and caused no injuries.

An initial IDF statement announcing the airstrike in the Qabatiya area did not give further details.

The strike came amid a military operation in Qabatiya that also reportedly saw a shootout between troops and local operatives.

Israel offers $5 million and safe passage for release of Hamas hostages
[Ynet] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday offered $5 million for the release of each hostage held by Hamas, along with safe passage for the captors to a third country, in a bid to secure their freedom.

Officials are working to publicize the offer through various channels, hoping to incentivize those holding the hostages.

Israeli officials also believe that a "renewed momentum" for advancing a deal could emerge after the U.S. elections. Sources familiar with the matter said Tuesday that communication with mediators is ongoing, primarily to explore whether Hamas can be persuaded to soften its demands, which currently include ending the war and a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
Hamas has rejected all that, and everything else. But they may yet say yes, and in the meantime, the fact of offering such a bribe for a hudna keeps the world a little bit off Israel’s back.

Lebanon official says Israeli commandos jammed UNIFIL radar in abduction operation
Oh noes! Anyway…
[IsraelTimes] A preliminary probe finds that Israeli commandos used a speedboat equipped with radar-jamming devices during the abduction of a Lebanese man accused of being a Hezbollah operative, a Lebanese judicial official tells AFP Tuesday.

The initial findings suggest that “the Israeli army used a high-speed vessel equipped with advanced devices capable of jamming radars” belonging to the United Nations peacekeeping force (UNIFIL) that monitors the Lebanese coast, the official says, requesting anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.

The probe into the abduction operation on Saturday is jointly conducted by the Lebanese police and judiciary.

The UN peacekeeping Maritime Task Force has helped Lebanon’s army monitor territorial waters and prevent the entry of arms or related material by sea since 2006, according to the mission’s website.

On Saturday, Israeli naval commandos seized a man that a military official described as a “senior operative” of Hezbollah in a raid in northern Lebanon and brought him to Israel for questioning.

He was identified as Imad Amhaz.

Drone operators and artillerymen are thrown into the infantry. Ukrainian Armed Forces are panicking in Donbass
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Sergey Adamov

[REGNUM] The Russian army continues to advance in the SVO zone. Over the past week, the Russian Armed Forces have driven the enemy out of a number of fortified areas, approaching the settlements of Pokrovsk and Kurakhovo.

The Ministry of Defense reported that from October 26 to November 1, troops established control over 12 settlements in the Donetsk People's Republic and the Kharkov region. In particular, in the Svatovo direction, the Russian army liberated the village of Pervomayskoye.

Overall, in October, the Russian Armed Forces liberated more than 257 square kilometers of Donbass territory. At the same time, the pace of the offensive is only increasing.

Currently, the Russian Armed Forces are advancing in the direction of the Kurakhovskoye Reservoir and the city of Kurakhovo. From the north, troops are moving from the area of the settlement of Tsukurino, from the east - from the settlement of Ostrovskoye, from the south - from the area of Ugledar.

After the loss of the last one, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were unable to form a new line of defense in this area for two key reasons: firstly, there is a flat area here, and secondly, there are no large settlements where Ukrainian troops could gain a foothold.

In the southern direction, fighting unfolded in the area of the village of Trudovoye, 9 kilometers from Kurakhovo. Some Russian and Ukrainian publications, as well as Telegram channels, reported that Russian troops had completely liberated the settlement. However, according to a source of the Regnum news agency located in this direction, fighting for the settlement is still ongoing.

"There are certain successes in this area. Also, according to unverified information, the enemy may retreat in the direction of Uspenovka. But while heavy fighting is going on, if the Ukrainian Armed Forces retreat somewhere, they fight back with all their might, especially focusing on drones. But we control key heights, so we will move forward," the agency's interlocutor assured.

He also reported that heavy fighting is taking place in the area of the village of Volchenko on the northern shore of the Kurakhovskoye Reservoir, and the Russian army is advancing in this area.

In the event of loss of control over the village of Trudovoye, Ukrainian troops will be forced to retreat to the other bank of the Sukhie Yaly River, a couple of kilometers closer to Kurakhovo.

Russian army units advancing from the east have also liberated the village of Katerinovka and are approaching the village of Ilyinka.

The information from Russian sources was also confirmed by Julian Röpke, a military observer for the German publication Bild. According to his assessment, Russian troops are moving toward the Kurakhovo Reservoir from the northeast and southwest, advancing in the direction of the village of Maksimovka. As a result, the Russian offensive could lead to the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Kurakhovo and 10-20 nearby settlements. Or to their complete encirclement.

In turn, Ukrainian sources complain about the lack of reserves and equipped defense lines. Previously, the Ukrainian military stationed in Kurakhovo admitted that the city could be abandoned in the foreseeable future. So far, everything is moving towards the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will indeed have to retreat.

Advancing in the Kurakhovo area, the Russian army command is in no hurry to force an offensive on Pokrovsk, where more than 100 thousand people lived as of 2014. Instead, the Russian Armed Forces have consistently occupied a number of large settlements on the approaches to Pokrovsk, in which the Ukrainian Armed Forces planned to organize a defense: Novogrodovka, Selidovo, Ukrainsk and Gornyak.

Starting in Selidovo, Russian troops advanced from the village of Vishnevoe in the direction of Novoalekseyevka. Further south, the offensive is also developing in the Novodmitrovka area. As in the Kurakhovo area, the Ukrainian Armed Forces units deployed south of Pokrovsk prefer to retreat and do not launch a counteroffensive.

In some areas, Russian troops have advanced up to 25 kilometers toward the border of the Dnepropetrovsk region. However, what is more important is that the offensive will cut off the road connecting Pokrovsk and Velyka Novosyolka. And thus disrupt communication between the two enemy groups.

Further advancement will allow the remaining supply routes between Pokrovsk and the rear in the Dnipropetrovsk region to be consistently cut off. According to sources of the Regnum news agency, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are now actively preparing to repel a frontal assault on the city, may end up encircled.

"We know that Pokrovsk is being prepared for battle, especially the industrial zone. Therefore, we will look for other ways, if necessary, we will bypass the city. Now the enemy is also bringing up fresh reserves to defend the southern borders and approaches to the city, but, of course, the command will also take this into account. If they cannot defend the approaches to the city, we will sooner or later take Pokrovsk," the source notes.

At the same time, Ukrainian sources are openly sounding the alarm and reporting panic in the operational command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to Ukrainian deputies, the top leadership has sanctioned the transfer of experienced drone and air defense system operators to the infantry, and medical personnel and fighters from construction units are also being sent to the trenches.

In turn, the leadership of the 47th and 53rd brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces deployed in Donbass addressed those who left their units without permission on Facebook (banned in Russia; owned by the Meta corporation, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation), calling on them to return to their positions.

"We can all make mistakes - it's part of life. It's important to remember that one misdeed does not define us completely. We support those who want to correct past mistakes," the statement reads.

Kiev says that the front will need up to 150,000 recruits in the near future. If they fail to mobilize them, the front in Donbass may collapse completely in the near future. Western observers have also come to similar conclusions. The American magazine Newsweek, having assessed the pace of the Russian army's advance, wrote that the Ukrainian Armed Forces may not have enough reserves to hold the front.

“Such a pace of advancement and the capabilities of the aviation ( Russian Armed Forces. — Ed. ) could have serious consequences for Ukraine, which will not be able to move construction equipment too close to the front line, at least without major losses in manpower,” the authors of the publication report.

In addition, the first snow fell in Donbass at the end of last week. Most of the trees lost their leaves - "grew bald", which made it impossible to camouflage armored vehicles and artillery guns in the field. Uncamouflaged weapons are increasingly becoming a target for Russian drones - along with enemy infantry. By winter, Ukrainian troops will have to conduct combat operations in the bare steppe, and superiority in aviation and artillery will play a decisive role.

Therefore, even if recruits from the freshest reinforcements begin to fill the trenches in the near future, it is far from certain that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have time to stabilize the front line in Donbass. They have critically little time left for this.

Report: Israel withdraws brigades from Lebanon amid talks progress
[NAHARNET] The Israeli army has withdrawn several brigades from south Lebanon amid ''progress'' in the ceasefire negotiations, Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported on Tuesday.

''After the officials involved in the negotiations estimated that it is possible to reach an agreement within a week and a half to two weeks, the army withdrew several brigades from south Lebanon,'' the daily said.

''Progress has been made in the negotiations, especially as to formulating the side document that will accompany the agreement, which will guarantee the freedom of Israeli military action in south Lebanon should the mechanism to enforce the ceasefire fail,'' the newspaper added.

[People] Exes Elon Musk and Grimes Are House Hunting for Bel Air Mansion to Share with His Other Children's Moms: Source

Elon Musk and Grimes hope to live with all of his children and their mothers.

A source tells PEOPLE that the X (formerly Twitter) owner, 53, and the singer, 36, recently went house hunting in Bel Air, searching for a home they can share with their three children as well as Musk's other children and their mothers.

Musk and Grimes share 4-year-old son X Æ A-12, 3 ½-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl and son Techno Mechanicus, who was born in 2022.

The insider tells PEOPLE that Grimes was also shown a home in Upper Bel Air. She and Musk are no longer romantically involved.

Aside from his children with Grimes, Musk is a father to nine other children with two other women. He and his first, ex-wife Justine Wilson welcomed six children. Their first, son Nevada Alexander, died at 10 weeks old in 2002.

The former spouses also share twins Vivian Jenna and Griffin, who were born in 2004, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, who were born in 2006.

Musk also has three children with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis. They quietly welcomed twins in 2021 and confirmed the birth of their third child in June.

In May, Musk said he doesn't plan on passing down his companies to his kids.

“I am definitely not of the school of automatically giving my kids some shares of the companies, even if they have no interest or inclination or ability to manage the company,” he revealed in an interview with The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council. “I think that’s a mistake.”

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] The enemy shot unarmed Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers in the Pokrovsky direction.

The intentional killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a grave international crime.

The Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the shooting of six captured Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers by Russians in the Pokrovsk direction. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office on Tuesday, November 5.

Currently, pre-trial investigations have begun into the fact of war crimes that resulted in the death of prisoners of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It is reported that on October 23, 2024, during the offensive on Selidovo, Russian troops captured three Ukrainian fighters. After some time, the occupiers shot the unarmed prisoners of war.

Later on November 1, during the assault on Ukrainian Armed Forces fortifications in the same Pokrovsk direction, three more Ukrainian prisoners of war were killed by Russian army representatives using automatic weapons.

"These actions are a violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualify as an international crime," the statement emphasized.

Let us recall that law enforcement officers have information about the execution of 102 Ukrainian prisoners of war on the battlefield by Russian soldiers.

Earlier in the Kursk region, Ukrainian fighters destroyed an assault group from a Russian brigade involved in the execution of Ukrainian prisoners.

Lebanese Red Cross will try again to remove bodies from a strike site
[NAHARNET] The Lebanese Red Cross will send another convoy Tuesday to Wata al-Khiam in southern Lebanon to search for and remove the bodies of 15 people killed in an Israeli airstrike, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency said.

Paramedics accessed the site of the strike two days prior and removed five other bodies, but needed to return with larger vehicles to remove the rubble. The NNA said the deployment is in coordination with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, which is the usual procedure.

The Red Cross did not immediately comment on the news, but expressed concern in recent weeks over several instances where Israel has struck in or close to areas where they have deployed paramedics to search for wounded people and casualties.

The Israeli military said it issued warnings to the residents there in late October to evacuate ahead of strikes on Hezbollah militant targets, and told ambulances to avoid the area.

Darfur tribal leader warns of imminent RSF attacks
[SUDANTRIBUNE] A prominent tribal leader warned on Monday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is planning to attack three localities in North Darfur, raising fears of a further escalation of the conflict in Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
Saleh Abdallah, head of the Zaghawa tribal council, said the RSF was planning to ''invade'' the al-Tina, Umbaru, and Karnoi localities from a base in neighbouring West Darfur. These areas are currently partly held by the Sudanese army and allied forces.

''They are planning to invade our areas,'' Abdallah said in an audio statement sent to Sudan Tribune. He said fighters were mobilizing to defend the localities, which border Chad.

The RSF has held most of North Darfur since the conflict erupted in April 2024. Since May 2024, it has been battling the army to control El Fasher, the state capital.

Abdallah said the RSF and allied militias had burned some 120 villages in the area over the past three weeks as part of a ''retaliatory campaign'' against the Zaghawa people.

The violence has driven many residents to flee to Chad, he added.

Since mid-October, the RSF and allied militias have been accused of carrying out Dire Revenge attacks against Zaghawa communities in Kutum locality, North Darfur, burning more than 45 villages.

Chad threatens to exit regional security force after deadly attack
[AFRICANEWS] Chad's President Mahamat Idriss Deby has issued a stark warning that his country may withdraw from a regional security coalition, citing frustrations over its effectiveness in countering krazed killer threats in the Lake Chad region.

Deby's remarks came during a visit to the area on Sunday, where he expressed concerns about the Multinational Joint Task Force's (MNJTF) impact in tackling gangs.

The announcement followed an attack in late October that claimed the lives of around 40 Chadian soldiers. The incident, reportedly carried out by suspected Boko Haram

, each contributing troops to the MNJTF, which was formed to counter krazed killer activity across these national borders.

Deby emphasized his disappointment in the level of coordination within the force, pointing to "a lack of joint efforts against the common enemy." He argued that the force, intended to streamline operations and intelligence-sharing, has instead "seemed to be in a slump."

The potential withdrawal of Chad a nation recognized for its well-trained and resilient military would be a considerable setback for the MNJTF, which has struggled to unify its approach amid various challenges.

The Lake Chad region has remained a flashpoint for bad boy attacks, with krazed killer activity spilling over from Boko Haram's origins in northeastern Nigeria since 2009.

At this time, the governments of Nigeria, Niger, and Cameroon have not commented on Deby's statement.

Nevada activates National Guard ahead of contentious election
What they expected before the election — article from Monday night.
[JustTheNews] According to the release, the soldiers will be based out of Carson City, the state capital, and Las Vegas, the state's largest city in the politically competitive Clark County.

Although they are presumably not going to be needed, Nevada is asking a 60 National Guard troops to be at the ready for Election Day.

“After consulting with stakeholders across the state, I have decided that a precautionary activation of the National Guard makes sense at this time. We do not expect that these personnel will need to be deployed,” Gov. Joe Lombardo said in a statement last week.

“As a first responder, I know first-hand the importance of being prepared, and this decision reflects my commitment to safety and preparedness on Election Day. As always, I am deeply grateful to the men and women of our National Guard, and I appreciate their service to our state and country," he added.

The decision is meant to supplement typical election security measures conducted by local and state authorities. Specifically, the news release from the governor's office cites any potential weather risks in the state could allow the guard to step in in order to help local law enforcement. In addition, they could help with other more immediate security concerns.

According to the release, the soldiers will be based out of Carson City, the state capital, and Las Vegas, the state's largest city in the politically competitive Clark County.

“I share Governor Lombardo’s commitment to safety, preparedness, and transparency,” Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar said in a statement. “This proactive decision helps ensure that we’ve made the most of our available resources across Nevada. Our election officials and law enforcement leaders have been preparing for the November 5 election for years. This frees up their resources on Election Day so they can focus on delivering a safe and secure election.”

Gaza water desalinization plant connected to Israeli energy grid
[IsraelTimes] A water desalination plant in Gaza is connected to Israel’s electricity grid to increase the supply of clean water in the war-torn coastal enclave.

The, plant located in the southern city of Khan Younis, is run by UNICEF and can provide 20,000 cubic meters of water daily to the nearby humanitarian zone where the vast majority of Gaza’s population is currently taking refuge from the conflict.

Israel’s security cabinet approved a decision in July to connect the desalination facility to the Israeli grid in July, but it has taken several months to complete the necessary work. The plant was finally connected on Sunday.

MK Yulia Malinovsky of the opposition Yisrael Beytenu party condemns the development, writing on X “101 hostages returning to their homes – no. The government of Israel takes care of its enemy and not its citizens.”

Israel supplied close to 50 percent of Gaza’s electricity before the current war, but cut off its electricity supply to Gaza on October 12 last year following the Hamas invasion and atrocities on October 7.

The UN and other agencies have deplored the humanitarian situation in Gaza in recent weeks, in particular in northern Gaza where a group of UN and independent organizations said last week the situation was “apocalyptic.”

Milwaukee to recount 30,000 ballots after tabulator issue
Software glitches in the usual locations...
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Around 30,000 ballots are reportedly going to need to be recounted, city officials announced in Milwaukee, Wisconsin because of a tabulator issue.

According to Fox 6, city official Jeff Fleming said that the tabulators have been sealed, however, the doors on the machines did not close the right way. The problems impacted votes that were turned in early as well as absentee ballots. 106,750 absentee ballots from the 113,311 that were issued to voters had been sent to the polling locations by Tuesday morning.

City officials said that the recount will take hours and that 13 machines were impacted. Paulina Gutierrez, executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission, instructed poll workers that each ballot will need to run through the systems again.

"We're seeing a lot of voter registration. Voter registrations are long. It's great to see that. I just want to remind voters that when you go to register to vote, you have to bring a valid photo ID and a proof of residence," Guti rrez said while speaking to reporters.

The polls are open from 7am to 8pm in the swing state of Wisconsin. The Badger State and six others, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, and Georgia are likely to be the states that decide the election results.

Israeli airstrike targets apartment in Jiye
[NAHARNET] Lebanese state media reported a strike on an apartment in the Jiye coastal area south of Beirut on Tuesday, more than a month into the Israel-Hezbollah war.

The official National News Agency said "a raid targeted a residential apartment in a building in the town of Jiye," where an AFP correspondent said a large plume of grey smoke covered the area.
"Now we'll never get our security deposit back!"
Al-Mayadeen television said a woman was killed and 15 people were wounded in the strike.

This is the second Israeli airstrike to target Jiye since the beginning of the Israel-Hezbollah war in 2023. The first strike had targeted a center for Hezbollah-affiliated paramedics.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: November 5, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 21:53 Zelensky said that "the first battles with North Korean soldiers are opening a new page of instability in the world. We must, together with the world, do everything to ensure that this Russian step toward expanding the war, toward a real escalation, is a losing one. Both for him and for North Korea."

19:29 In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian soldiers shot six captured Ukrainian soldiers, the prosecutor's office reported. The first incident occurred on October 23 during the Russian army's offensive on Selidovo, when Russians captured three Ukrainian soldiers and shot them some time later. Russians killed three more prisoners of war in the same direction on November 1, during the assault on Ukrainian fortifications.

19:17 The G7 is preparing a "coordinated response" to Russia's involvement of North Korean troops, according to a joint statement by the foreign ministers of the G7 and three allied countries. "We call on the DPRK to stop assisting Russia in its war of aggression. We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to support Ukraine as it defends its freedom, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. We are working with our international partners to provide a coordinated response to this development," the statement said.

19:08 Patrick Turner is in Kiev on his first official visit as head of the NATO Representation in Ukraine, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said. The parties discussed the status of implementation of the agreements reached following the NATO summit in Washington, in particular the issue of supplying air defense systems. Umerov proposed holding the next meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council at the level of defense ministers in Kiev.

18:33 As a result of the Russian attack on Zaporozhye, six people were killed and 24 were wounded, reported the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov.

18:14 In the evening, Russians fired artillery at Ochakov in the Nikolaev region, wounding two people, including a 13-year-old child, reported the head of the OVA, Vitaly Kim.

18:06 Swedish Defense Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin arrived in Ukraine. He announced a $9.3 million civilian aid package, which included two patrol vessels, 24 cars, a minibus, a truck, personal protective equipment, and 40,000 protective masks with filters.

18:02 The General Staff reported that electronic warfare systems are used in the work of air defense systems in Ukraine, including means of substituting GPS satellite navigation coordinates. This may cause disruptions in the precise time system used by mobile phones in automatic time adjustment mode. The General Staff recommends disabling the automatic time adjustment mode in the phone and taking into account that the accuracy of satellite navigation systems may be disrupted when air raid sirens are announced.

17:15 Russians launched a drone strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkov - a multi-story building was damaged, one person is known to have been injured, reported the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov.

15:57 Defense Minister Rustem Umerov confirmed in an interview with KBS that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already participated in a clash with North Korean soldiers. At the same time, the minister added that the clash was "small-scale", but it can be considered the official beginning of the DPRK's participation in the war against Ukraine. At the same time, Umerov noted that the participation of North Korean soldiers in the battles is not yet systematic.

According to the minister, the North Korean soldiers were disguised as Buryats and mixed with Russian troops, so the exact number of victims and prisoners is still being established. "We are recording contacts with North Korean forces and believe that in a few weeks there will be more clashes. We will analyze and consider them accordingly," Umerov added.

He also said that five North Korean battalions, each with 3,000 servicemen, will operate on the front line, which is about 1,500 km long. Thus, the number of North Koreans in the Kursk region could increase to 15,000. "The duration of the Russian exercises was a month, but now it has been reduced to several days or a week so that North Korean troops can take part in the combat operations," the Ukrainian minister noted.

15:32 In the morning, Russians launched a missile attack on a civilian enterprise in the village of Kapitolovka, Izyum community, Kharkiv region, one person was wounded, OVA reported. Also in the afternoon, the enemy shelled the village of Glushkovka, Kupyansk district, two people were killed.

14:26 The number of people wounded as a result of the enemy strike on Zaporizhia has grown to 23 people, the fire that broke out at the site of the strike has been extinguished, reported the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov.

14:08 In Poland, the Ukrainian Legion has received over 500 applications from 30 countries in a month, Ukrinform reports, citing representatives of the recruitment center, which has been operating since early October at the Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin. At the same time, approximately 10% of applications were received from women. About half of those who want to join the Defense Forces as part of the Ukrainian Legion are young people under 25. Most applications come from Ukrainians living in Poland and the Czech Republic, but there are also those who currently live in the UK, Ireland, Canada and the USA.

13:14 In Zaporozhye, the number of victims as a result of today's Russian strike on a critical infrastructure facility has increased to 20, six people have died, the prosecutor's office reported.

11:47 The first combat clash between Ukrainian troops and the DPRK military took place in the Kursk region, the Financial Times reports, citing a high-ranking representative of Ukrainian intelligence. However, he did not provide any details. The day before, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andrey Kovalenko, also reported that the first DPRK military came under fire in the Kursk region.

11:23 In Zaporizhia, as a result of today's Russian strike on an infrastructure facility, six people were killed and nine were wounded. A fire broke out at the site of the strike, said OVA chief Ivan Fedorov.

10:18 Russians have attacked an infrastructure facility in Zaporizhia. According to preliminary information, two people were wounded, said OVA head Ivan Fedorov.

09:09 Air defense destroyed 48 of 79 Russian drones (Shahed and unspecified type) in Odessa, Kyiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Khmelnytskyi regions at night. Another 30 enemy drones were lost, one returned to Russia. In addition, both Kh-59/69 guided air missiles, which the enemy used to attack Odessa region, were shot down, the Air Force reported.

08:37 At night, the Russians hit Kharkov with KABs. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a bomb hit the ground, two people were injured, said the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov.

08:13 In the Kherson region, over the past day, one person was wounded as a result of Russian shelling, reported the head of the OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin.

07:46 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of November 5:

  • personnel - about 701,650 (+1260) people,

  • tanks - 9208 (+15),

  • combat armored vehicles - 18,581 (+43),

  • artillery systems - 20,150 (+29),

  • MLRS - 1245 (+0),

  • air defense systems - 996 (+2),

  • aircraft - 369 (+0),

  • helicopters - 329 (+0),

  • Operational-tactical level UAVs - 18,309 (+29),

  • cruise missiles - 2631 (+2),

  • ships/boats - 28 (+0),

  • submarines - 1 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tank trucks - 28,278 (+41),

  • special equipment - 3587 (+0).

00:23 The United States has recorded the presence of about 10,000 North Korean troops in the Kursk region, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller reported. According to Washington's forecasts, they could be involved in military action in the coming days. Miller added that if the information about the participation of DPRK soldiers in military action is confirmed, they will be a legitimate target for destruction.

Equatorial Guinea official arrested over 400 sex tapes with President''s sister, high-profile women
[AFRICANEWS] Equatorial Guinea's Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), Baltasar Engonga, has been arrested following allegations that he recorded more than 400 explicit videos featuring the wives of prominent public figures in the country.

The scandal emerged during a separate investigation into fraud allegations against Engonga, aged 54, when authorities uncovered a trove of CDs containing explicit material during searches of his home and office.

Among the people implicated in the recordings are high-ranking officials' spouses, including the wife of the Director General of Police, close family members, and relatives of senior government figures, including the sister of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and spouses of multiple government ministers.

The videos reportedly feature encounters in various locations, including Engonga's office, sometimes with the national flag visible in the background.

The recordings were reportedly consensual but have since been leaked online, leading to widespread public outrage and intense scrutiny from local media. Reports by Ahora EG describe the revelations as unprecedented in the country's history, exposing what it called ''flagrant violations'' of ethical standards by a senior public official.

Known locally by the nickname ''Bello,'' Engonga's position has now become a focal point of national controversy, with allegations spanning multiple high-profile individuals.

Equatorial Guinea's Attorney General Nzang Nguema commented on the scandal, clarifying that consensual relations without coercion are not criminal under current laws.

However, he raised concerns over public health risks and emphasized the importance of a supportive environment for reporting any instances of non-consensual encounters or abuse.

The Attorney General also noted the potential risk of sexually transmitted diseases arising from Engonga's alleged activities, adding urgency to the government's response.

Following the scandal, the government swiftly enacted a suspension of officials involved in any sexual conduct within ministry offices as part of a broader ''zero tolerance'' stance on behavior that compromises public trust.

Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue condemned the actions in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), underscoring that ''ethics and respect are fundamental in our Administration'' and reaffirming the nation's commitment to enforcing public service integrity.

The case has highlighted the government's dedication to maintaining a professional and ethical standard across its institutions. Officials have stated that they aim to prevent future breaches of public trust and reinforce a respectful workplace culture.

Teen shooting suspect charged in Orlando Halloween horror that left 2 dead, 6 wounded was ‘ticking time bomb'
[NY Post] He was an acknowledged feral POS that should've been culled at an early stage
The Florida teen charged in the mass shooting at Orlando’s Halloween celebration, which left two people dead and six wounded, was a "ticking time bomb" with a history of behavior problems, people who knew him said.

Jaylen Dwayne Edgar, 17, was charged as an adult Monday with two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder.

The teen’s mother showed up in court this weekend — instead of him — to answer the initial juvenile charges.

Edgar bounced around at different districts during his elementary and middle school years, said Veronica Gutierrez, who has known the teen since he was young.

"He was always getting in trouble," says Gutierrez. "He had a temper and was just not someone who could be controlled. I don’t know where he ended up going to high school, because I think maybe a lot of options were closed to him because he’s had so many problems."

Another friend said it was only a matter of time before Edgar got in bigger trouble.

"I am surprised that it happened, but I guess I’m not like totally shocked," says Louis Acevedo, who lived near Edgar. "He was angry, always ready for a fight. He was a ticking time bomb, I’d say."

IDF confirms airstrike on Hezbollah arms depots in western Syria
[IsraelTimes] The IDF confirms carrying out airstrikes in Syria a short while ago, targeting Hezbollah weapon depots.

The weapon depots used by Hezbollah were struck by fighter jets in the al-Qusayr area in western Syria, close to the border with Lebanon.

The IDF says Hezbollah’s armament unit is responsible for storing weapons in Lebanon, and it recently expanded its activities to Syria, storing weapons in al-Qusayr.
Syria’s state-run SANA news agency reports an Israeli airstrike targeting an industrial zone in the western Syrian city of al-Qusayr, not far from the border with Lebanon.

Iran sentences 3 to death over 2020 killing of nuclear scientist blamed on Israel
[IsraelTimes] Iran has sentenced three people to death over the 2020 assassination of one of the country’s top nuclear scientists, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the judiciary says.

“The judicial processes of these three people were carried out in the Revolutionary Court of Urmia, and they were sentenced to death in the initial stage, and the case is currently in the appeal stage,” judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir tells a Tehran press conference.

Fakhrizadeh was killed when his car was ambushed on a highway outside the capital in November 2020, in an attack Iran blamed on Israel.

“After some investigations, three people out of eight arrested in West Azerbaijan province, were accused of committing espionage for the occupying regime of Israel,” Jahangir says.
Three? Eight?? At one point it was seriously reported that he was taken out by a 62-man hit squad in six vehicles, the squad being equipped with machine guns and a car bomb. The sole eyewitness was quoted as saying, “Sixty-two? Shoooot, there wuz hundreds of ‘em — 413 to be precise, unless I miss my guess, an’ I never miss my guess. And every single one of ‘em wuz blond, blue-eyed, an’ dressed like that Lawrence o’Arabia feller on a bad day. ‘Cept the girlies — they all looked like them 72 virgin hareem dancin’ girls they tell us ’bout every Friday, all doe eyes an’ wearin’ no more than a cuppla bits o’wispy stuff where it warnt needed nohow! Can’t blame that scientist general for stoppin’ his car when he saw all that caperin’ in the road, no indeed!”.
He adds that the three are also “accused of transporting equipment into Iran for the assassination of martyr Fakhrizadeh under the guise of smuggling alcoholic beverages.”

In December 2022, then judiciary spokesman Massoud Setayeshi said nine people had been charged with the capital offense of “corruption on earth” for their suspected collusion with Israel in the assassination.

Fakhrizadeh had been under US sanctions for his role in Iran’s nuclear program when he was killed.

Iranian authorities said the attackers used a bomb and a remote-controlled machine gun.

Israel has never commented on the killing.

In 2018, the Israeli government accused Fakhrizadeh of leading Iran’s efforts to develop an atomic bomb, a claim Iran has always vehemently denied.

The sentencing of the three comes the day after a Jewish Iranian man, Arvin Nathaniel Ghahremani, was executed in Iran after a two-year battle by his family and the local Jewish community to save his life. He was executed over a fatal stabbing he claimed was in self-defense.
