IDF commandos killed Palestinian gunman who opened fire at them during Nablus raid — military source
[IsraelTimes] Overnight, troops of the IDF’s Duvedevan commando unit killed a Palestinian gunman who opened fire at them during an operation in the Balata camp near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, a military source says.

Meanwhile, four weapons were seized by troops in the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, also near Nablus, according to the source.

Six wanted Palestinians were also detained across the West Bank overnight.

Melbourne police remove man wielding hammer from Jewish bakery near synagogue that was set on fire
[IsraelTimes] Victorian police have removed a man wielding a hammer and verbally abusing community members at a Jewish bakery in Melbourne, hours after masked assailants set fire to a nearby synagogue.

A Jewish community security organization says its personnel “assisted Glick’s staff and remained on site until police arrived.”

Posts on social media say the bakery was put on “lockdown.”

The incident took place at the Balaclava branch of Glick’s bakery, an iconic Jewish institution founded by Holocaust survivor Mendel Glick in 1960.

Iran has started evacuating senior IRGC commanders, other officials from Syria — NYT
[IsraelTimes] Iran has started evacuating military commanders and other Iranian officials from Syria, the New York Times reports, as the Syrian government comes under increasing pressure from advancing rebel forces.

Citing regional and Iranian officials, the report says among those who have been moved out of Syria are senior commanders in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, some diplomats and their families, and civilians, with the evacuations beginning Friday morning.

The US newspaper also reports that some of the officials left by Tehran via plane, while others departed by land for Lebanon, Iraq and the Syrian port city of Latakia.

Together with Russia, the Islamic Republic has been a key supporter of President Bashar al-Assad during the over decade-long Syrian civil war, with the Syrian regime serving as a key component in the Iran-led anti-Israel, anti-US “axis of resistance” along with Lebanon’s Hezbollah terror organization and other Iranian proxy groups across the region.

I thought this time it’s an Al Nusra blitzkrieg, Skidmark. ISIS remnants have been absorbed by the “Syrian National Army” paramilitaries on the Turkish payroll, yes, but they are no longer animated by the current heir of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi first caliph of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Report: Hamas contacting Gaza groups to check state of hostages ahead of possible deal
[IsraelTimes] London-based Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reports that Hamas has begun efforts to check the status of hostages held by other terror groups in Gaza, as it expects potential movement on a hostage and ceasefire deal with Israel.

Palestinian sources cited by the paper say Hamas officials have contacted other groups to receive updates on the condition of hostages they hold.

Israel says 100 hostages remain in Gaza, alive and dead. Reports have indicated that some half are believed to be alive.

US Supreme Court to decide if PA, PLO can be sued in US over Mideast terror attacks
[IsraelTimes] Hearing will settler long-running legal dispute over whether the 2 Palestinian authorities can be held responsible for the deaths of Americans in acts of terrorism

The Supreme Court agreed Friday to settle a years-long legal dispute over whether Paleostinian authorities can be sued in US courts by Americans killed or maimed in terrorism attacks in the Middle East.

The federal appeals court in New York has repeatedly ruled in favor of the Paleostine Liberation Organization and the Paleostinian Authority, despite Congress’ efforts to allow the victims’ lawsuits to be heard.

That court’s latest decision, last year, struck down a law enacted in 2019 specifically to allow the lawsuits to move forward. The Supreme Court typically takes on cases in which lower courts have invalidated federal laws.

The question for the justices is whether the 2019 law is unconstitutional, as the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals found, because it denies fair legal process to the PLO and PA. The case probably will be argued in the spring.

Both the victims and the Biden administration had urged the high court to step in.

The case relates to seven shootings and bombings near Jerusalem between January 2001 and February 2004 that killed 33 people and maimed hundreds more, including scores of US citizens, and in 2018, when a US-born settler was stabbed to death by a Paleostinian assailant outside a busy mall in the West Bank.

The victims and their families assert that Paleostinian agents either were involved in the attacks or incited them.

The 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals first ruled in 2016 against the victims of the attacks from 20 years ago, tossing out a $654 million jury verdict in their favor. In that earlier ruling, the appeals court held US courts can’t consider lawsuits against foreign-based groups over random attacks that were not aimed at the United States.

The victims had sued under the Anti-Terrorism Act, signed into law in 1992. The law was passed to open US courts to victims of international terrorism, spurred by the killing of American Leon Klinghoffer during a 1985 Paleostinian terrorist attack aboard the Achille Lauro cruise ship.

The jury found the PLO and Paleostinian Authority liable for six attacks and awarded $218 million in damages. The award was automatically tripled under the law.

After the Supreme Court rejected the victims’ appeal in 2018, Congress again amended the law to make clear it did not want to close the courthouse door to the victims.

Iran claims successful satellite launch said to improve Tehran’s ballistic missiles
[IsraelTimes] Tehran’s Simorgh program is a satellite-carrying rocket that could be used to deliver nuclear payloads; no immediate independent confirmation of success of the launch

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
claimed on Friday to have conducted a successful space launch, the latest for its program the West alleges improves Tehran’s ballistic missile program.

Iran said it conducted the launch using its Simorgh program, a satellite-carrying rocket that had seen a series of failed launches. The launch took place at Iran’s Imam Khomeini Spaceport in rural Semnan province.

There was no immediate independent confirmation the launch was successful.

Intercontinental ballistic missiles can be used to deliver nuclear weapons. Iran’s nuclear program has now enriched uranium closer than ever to weapons-grade levels after the collapse of its nuclear deal with world powers.

The Simorgh carried what Iran described as an "orbital propulsion system," as well as two research systems to a 400-kilometer (250-mile) orbit above the Earth. A system that could change the orbit of a spacecraft would allow Iran to geo-synchronize the orbits of its satellites. Tehran has long sought that ability.

Iran also put the payload of the Simorgh at 300 kilograms (660 pounds), heavier than its previous successful launches.

The United States has previously said Iran’s satellite launches defy a UN Security Council resolution and called on Tehran to undertake no activity involving ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons. UN sanctions related to Iran’s ballistic missile program expired in October 2023.

"Iran’s work on space-launch vehicles — including its Simorgh — probably would shorten the timeline to produce an intercontinental ballistic missile, if it decided to develop one, because the systems use similar technologies," a US intelligence community report released in July said.

Under Iran’s former President Hassan Rouhani
...Iran's moderate president, which he was, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he was anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man...>
, the Islamic Theocratic Republic slowed its space program for fear of raising tensions with the West. The late hard-line President Ebrahim Raisi, a protégé of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...>
who came to power in 2021, pushed the program forward. Raisi died in a helicopter crash in May.

Iran’s new President Masoud Pezeshkian, who has been signaling he wants to negotiate with the West over sanctions, has yet to offer strategy when it comes to Iran’s ambitions in space. The Simorgh launch represented the first for his administration from the country’s civil space program. Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard conducted a successful launch in its parallel program in September.

Intercontinental ballistic missiles can be used to deliver nuclear weapons. Iran is now producing uranium close to weapons-grade levels after the collapse of its nuclear deal with world powers. Tehran has enough enriched uranium for "several" nuclear weapons, if it chooses to produce them, the head of the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency repeatedly has warned.

Iran, which is sworn to the destruction of Israel, has always denied seeking nuclear weapons and says its space program, like its nuclear activities, is for purely civilian purposes. However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
US intelligence agencies and the IAEA say Iran had an organized military nuclear program up until 2003.

Several major companies withdraw advertising from Twitch due to antisemitism claims
[IsraelTimes] JPMorgan Chase, AT&T, and Dunkin have withdrawn their advertising from gaming and e-sports live-streaming platform Twitch due to complaints of antisemitism on the platform, Bloomberg reports.

Oil giant Chevron is also considering leaving the Amazon-owned platform, Bloomberg said.

The site has come under fire in recent months due to complaints it has allowed anti-Israel hate speech.

Last month, US Representative Ritchie Torres of New York called on Twitch to rein what he described as “an explosion of Jew-hatred” on the platform or risk Congressional scrutiny.

The Anti-Defamation League has also called on Twitch to do more to fight antisemitism on its platform.

In response to the report, Twitch told Bloomberg that it does not tolerate antisemitic content on its platform, saying it applies its guidelines “consistently and objectively” to all streamers.

Father, son from northern Druze village accused of spying for Iran’s IRGC Quds Force
[IsraelTimes] Shin Bet reveals it arrested duo from Mas’ade in November, charging they passed info on IDF activity in Golan Heights to Iranian handlers — the latest in flood of espionage cases

Two residents of the northern Druze village of Mas’ade are suspected of carrying out surveillance missions on behalf of Iran’s Quds Force, the Shin Bet and police said Friday.

The suspects, Bassem and Tahrir Safadi, a father and son, were arrested in November on suspicion that they were "recruited by Iranian elements and committed crimes of espionage and contact with a foreign agent during war," the Shin Bet said.

The investigation found that Tahrir, 21, a software engineering student, was involved in recent years in surveillance missions for Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. and its regional proxies, at the request of his father, Bassem.

The Shin Bet said Tahrir would collect information on IDF activity in the Golan Heights, which was then handed over to Hussam as-Salam Tawfiq Zidan, a journalist with the Iranian state-owned al-Alam News Network.

Zidan lived in Damascus and simultaneously worked for the Paleostine division in the Quds Force, the extraterritorial arm of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, according to the Shin Bet. The Paleostine division is responsible for aiding Paleostinian terror groups in carrying out attacks.

Tahrir and Bassem were both instructed by their Quds Force handler Zidan to carry out various missions, including taking photos of troops, tank movements, equipment and other details, the security agency said.

On Friday, an indictment was filed against Tahrir Safadi, accusing him of "grave crimes of espionage." His father, Bassem, will be held in administrative detention due to "the absence of a criminal proceeding alternative, and given his high risk to state security and public peace," the Shin Bet said.

"The investigation of the case revealed once again the fact that elements of the Axis, led by Iran, act to advance terror activity in Israel and to exploit residents of Israel for espionage activities," the agency said.

The Shin Bet and police added that they view the case, and any other contact by Israelis with Iranian elements, "gravely."

Law enforcement agencies have in recent months announced a series of Iranian espionage plots involving Israeli citizens.

In some, Tehran tried to trick Israelis online into carrying out missions on its behalf.

In other cases, individuals are alleged to have knowingly operated on its behalf for monetary gain.

In September, seven Jewish Israelis were arrested on suspicion of spying on security figures and IDF bases for Iran. They were accused of collecting information for their Iranian contacts about several Israeli citizens, including a senior security figure, and may have been part of a plot to ultimately assassinate the figure.

That same month, a man from the southern city of Ashkelon was arrested on allegations that he was smuggled into Iran twice and received payment to carry out missions on behalf of Tehran, and was recruited to assassinate either Israel’s prime minister, defense minister, or the head of the Shin Bet.

Then, on October 14, a man and his 18-year-old partner, both from Ramat Gan, were arrested on charges that they carried out various acts of sabotage and vandalism on behalf of an Iranian agent.

On October 16, the Israel Police and State Attorney’s Office announced the arrest of a man from central Israel who allegedly acquired a weapon in order to kill an Israeli scientist on instructions from an Iranian agent, after performing several smaller tasks on the agent’s behalf.

On October 22, seven East Jerusalem men, six of them Israeli citizens, were arrested on suspicion of spying for Iran and plotting attacks in Israel.

Those recent cases came after authorities in January uncovered a scheme involving Israelis who were allegedly recruited to gather intelligence on high-profile figures.

Fifth Column
Charges dismissed against NY rabbi accused of hitting Columbia protesters with car
[IsraelTimes] Reuven Kahane, cousin of late extremist rabbi Meir Kahane, says he merely shouted at demonstrators who were banging on his vehicle; charges also dropped against two protesters

All charges have been dismissed against a Manhattan rabbi and real estate developer who was accused of ramming his vehicle into pro-Paleostinian, anti-Israel protesters in May.

Charges were also dropped against two protesters who were arrested at the scene.
Presumably the only easy way to set them free was to set him free, too.
Reuven Kahane had been arrested and accused of assault after the altercation with the demonstrators, who were protesting outside the Upper East Side home of a Columbia University trustee.

The protesters were affiliated with Columbia University Apartheid Divest, an alliance of anti-Israel student groups that had characterized the incident in a blurb as "Zionist driver runs down peaceful pro-Paleostinian demonstration."

Police said at the time that an argument had broken out between Kahane and the protesters as the protesters were leaving the scene and that Kahane had "tapped" one of the demonstrators with his car. Kahane said he had shouted at protesters banging on his car.

Police arrived a few minutes later and arrested Kahane and two of the activists, Maryellen Novak, 55, and John Rozendaal, 63, for criminal mischief.
A bit long in the tooth to be college students. And adult continuing ed students generally have
better things to do than riot.
Now, the case against Kahane has been dismissed. The New York State Unified Court System confirmed that the case had been dismissed last month pursuant to speedy trial limitations that stipulate a trial must take place within a certain amount of time after the incident. The case no longer appears in court records.

Kahane says that the charges against him were baseless.

"Nothing whatsoever that they accused me of happened," he said in an interview on Wednesday, saying that the case had been "completely dismissed and sealed."

Novak and Rozendaal also had their charges dropped. Following the May arrest, a fundraiser for Novak, identifying her as a "safety marshal" for protesters, raised more than $11,000.

Rozendaal had previously been arrested in March for disrupting an Easter service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral as part of a pro-Paleostinian, anti-Israel protest. None of the student protesters on the scene were charged.

At the time of the incident, Columbia was being rocked by demonstrations over the Israel-Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
war, and city officials, including Mayor Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
, repeatedly said that "outside agitators" were responsible for much of the unrest.

The Upper East Side protest took place days after a group of anti-Israel protesters on the university’s Morningside Heights campus had forcibly occupied a building.

Police arrested dozens while clearing out the building, and many of those charges were ultimately dismissed as well. More than 25 percent of those arrested were also not affiliated with the university.

Kahane, an ordained rabbi who heads a real estate firm, believes that the May altercation and his arrest drew widespread attention because he shares a name with his second cousin, the late Death Eater rabbi Meir Kahane.

He said he met Meir Kahane "numerous times" while the two were living in New York but that he is "not a Kahanist." While in New York, Meir Kahane led the Jewish Defense League, a far-right group, and his political party was later barred from the Knesset for racism. He was assassinated in New York City in 1990.

"I think if my name was Joe Smith, I don’t think anybody would have picked this up," Reuven Kahane said.

Unconfirmed report: IDF recently struck chemical weapons cache in Syria
[IsraelTimes] The network cites “foreign reports,” though no such reports appear to exist, indicating that the citation is a tactic by the network to get around Israel’s military censor.

Earlier this week, Haaretz reported that the Israeli military fears that amid the Syrian rebel assault and their taking over of military sites belonging to the Assad regime in the country, chemical weapons could fall into the wrong hands.

If such weapons fall into the hands of the rebels or Iranian militias, Israel would have to act in a way that “may affect Syria and the entire Middle East,” according to Haaretz.

The report adds that Israel recently conveyed messages to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, via Russia, demanding that he “uphold his sovereignty and not allow Iran to operate in his territory.

US Embassy warns Americans to leave Syria as rebel groups advance
[Washington Examiner] The U.S. Embassy in Syria issued a new security warning to citizens in the country, urging them to leave as rebel groups advance and cause further unrest.

Rebel groups have advanced on Syrian President Bashar al Assad’s forces, the Syrian Arab Army, in the past week, after he established control over most of the country in 2020 and had four years of relative stability. The country has been largely unstable for the past decade, with the conflict beginning in 2011, but fighting has increased with the latest rebel advancements.

The advisory issued Friday warns that areas of the country affected by the latest instability include Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, Manbij, and Daraa, but are also prevalent in other areas.

"The security situation in Syria continues to be volatile and unpredictable with active clashes between armed groups throughout the country. The Department of State urges U.S. citizens to depart Syria now while commercial options remain available in Damascus," the warning said.

The advisory also warns that those who elect not to leave the country should "prepare contingency plans for emergency situations and be prepared to shelter in place for extended periods."

#1  Reading his tweets on his X page is interesting. He was a YPG sniper and commander defending Kobane and Raqqa against Turkey in 2014-17. His views can be summed up as: Kurds good, communism good, Turkey murderous, the HTS-led alliance (Al-Fath al-Mubin) is Islamist, murderous, and aimed at Assad, while Fajr al-Hurriya — the alliance on Turkey’s payroll sometimes called the Syrian National Army — is evil, murderous, and aimed at the Kurds. But Israel, which isn’t involved in any of this, is vile beyond words — every time they don’t mention the Kurds is proof of that.

I didn’t expect that last, which shows my naiveté, I guess.

And this tweet is particularly fascinating:

For the largest health insurer in the US, AI's error rate is like a feature, not a bug.

UnitedHealthcare, the largest health insurance company in the US, is allegedly using a deeply flawed AI algorithm to override doctors' judgments and wrongfully deny critical health coverage to elderly patients. This has resulted in patients being kicked out of rehabilitation programs and care facilities far too early, forcing them to drain their life savings to obtain needed care that should be covered under their government-funded Medicare Advantage Plan.

Three killed in clashes between Druze militias and Syrian security forces in Sweida
At least three people have been killed in clashes between Druze militias and security forces in the southern Syrian city of Sweida, two witnesses and a local activist say.

They said anti-government fighters also took control of the main police station and the biggest civilian prison hours after hundreds of people protested in a main square demanding the downfall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

“People are seeing what is happening in the rest of Syria as liberation of Syria and a chance to bring down the regime,” activist Ryan Marouf, editor of Suwayda 24, a website that covers the province, tells Reuters.

Government Corruption
Joe must say NO to White House pardon party for Anthony Fauci, Mark Milley, Adam Schiff
[NYPOST] Not content with one noxious pardon for son Hunter, President Biden is (reportedly) considering many, many others.

And the rumored list of the soon-to-be-legally-blameless is a doozy.

The newest add? Gen. Mark Milley, former Joint Chiefs of Staff chair.

Milley is a woke extremist who pushed DEI within the armed forces. Far worse, he sidled up to high generals in China's army days before the 2020 election and promised them ''everything is going to be OK,'' and did so again after the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, telling them that if we were going to attack, he'd let them know.

It wasn't open treason, but sure flirted with it — and absolutely put his own ego above his sworn duty.

Milley's in some deeply dishonorable company.

Chief among them is Dr. Anthony Fauci, who (1) repeatedly obfuscated before Congress about his role in funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan that may have sparked the pandemic, and (2) ruthlessly used his power behind the scenes to suppress any discussion of the lab-leak theory, now by far the most likely explanation for COVID's origin.

Gee, we thought Fauci was a saint. Why would he need a pre-emptive pardon that frees him from criminal responsibility for bad actions?

Don't forget Sen.-elect Adam Schiff
>...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation"...>
, the Russiagate liar who used the utterly fake Steele dossier to power his bogus, endless crusade against President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
for nonexistent collusion.

How in the world could that American hero have anything to worry about legally?

Health Insurers Remove Executive Leadership Pages as Leftist Wackos Like Taylor Lorenz Celebrate UnitedHealth Murder
[Breitbart] The shooting death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson has prompted several major health insurance companies to take down the webpages listing their executive leadership teams. The most comes as users on leftist echo chamber Bluesky, including journalist Taylor Lorenz, are not only cheering the assassination, but posting the names and pictures of other prominent health insurance executives in a form of target list.

404 Media reports that multiple leading health insurance providers in the United States have removed or restricted access to the pages on their websites that list their top executives. This action comes on the heels of the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was fatally shot outside a Manhattan hotel on Wednesday morning.

Among the companies that have taken their leadership pages offline are United Healthcare, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Caresource, Medica, and Elevance Health. United Healthcare’s “about us” page, which had prominently featured Thompson and the rest of the executive team, now redirects visitors to the company’s homepage. Similarly, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield’s leadership page, which had displayed the names and photos of 25 executives including President and CEO Kim Keck, now diverts to a generic “about us” section.

Nonprofit health insurance organizations have followed suit, with Caresource removing the individual profile pages for its entire executive leadership, including President and CEO Erhardt Preitauer and several Executive Vice Presidents. Medica has also taken down its executive and foundation leadership staff pages, which now return error messages indicating the pages no longer exist.

Elevance Health, another major player in the industry, replaced its leadership page with an apology message stating, “Sorry, that page is no longer here.” Prior to Thompson’s murder, the page had been archived as recently as last week.

The 57-year-old Thompson was shot by an unknown assailant shortly before he was scheduled to speak at a conference for United Healthcare investors. Surveillance footage shows the suspect using a silencer-equipped weapon and fleeing the scene on foot. Investigators have revealed that the bullets used in the attack were engraved with the phrases “deny,” “defend,” and “depose,” which are believed to reference the “three D’s of insurance,” a term used to describe common strategies employed by insurers to limit payouts.

The motive behind the shocking assassination remains unclear, but it has sent shockwaves through the health insurance industry. Just a day before the shooting, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield had announced controversial plans to begin charging patients for anesthesia during procedures that exceeded estimated durations, a policy the company has since walked back in light of the tragedy.

While some major insurers, such as Kaiser Permanente, Humana, and Aetna, have kept their leadership pages accessible, the widespread removal of this information by others underscores the growing sense of unease and vulnerability among top executives in the wake of Thompson’s murder.

Breitbart News recently reported that former Washington Post reporter and current Vox Media podcaster Taylor Lorenz was openly celebrating the death of Thompson on social media. Breitbart News reporter John Nolte reported:

Over at the humorless, left-wing echo chamber that is the Xwitter clone Bluesky, disgraced former Washington Post reporter and current Vox Media podcaster Taylor Lorenz is openly celebrating the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

In what has all the earmarks of a targeted assassination, the 50-year-old CEO was gunned down outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan early Wednesday morning by a masked gunman who is still on the loose.

The middle-aged Lorenz, who frequently crybabies about being harassed online, immediately used her Bluesky account to digitally jump for joy over the news. Worse, she then put targets on the backs of other healthcare company officials and CEOs.

After Hama: New Militant Strike Threatens to Cut Off Russian Bases in Syria
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Leonid Tsukanov

[REGNUM] The advance of anti-government forces in Syria continues. Despite the fact that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allied pro-Turkish groups have somewhat slowed down the pace of their offensive, the Syrian army has not yet been able to stabilize the front line.

The militants managed to break into Hama - the battles for it lasted three days, but the government troops were unable to hold their positions. The republic's Defense Ministry reluctantly admitted to withdrawing from the city - citing the decision as "unwillingness to endanger the lives of civilians." The front line lay beyond the city blocks.

The fall of a major city (and also a transport hub) is a blow to the Syrian government and is creating a network of “anti-Assad centers” in the north of the country. Returning Hama back will be problematic, especially given the difficult relations between its residents and official Damascus.

DARK SHADOWS OF HAMA
Relations between Damascus and Hama have been rocky. Since the mid-1960s, the city has been dominated by supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood*, who were in opposition to the Baathist government. And with the rise to power of Hafez al-Assad, the father of the current Syrian president, an underground war began between the Brotherhood and the Syrian government, with Hama at its epicenter.

The confrontation culminated in the storming of Hama by Syrian troops (1982). After massive bombings, Assadist forces launched a hunt for rebels. According to various sources, between 20,000 and 40,000 people were killed and captured, most of whom were city residents.

It should be noted that over the next 30 years, unspoken restrictions were imposed on the residents of Hama: as punishment for the rebellion, Damascus allegedly seriously cut funding for the municipality, and was also slow to invest in the restoration of neighborhoods destroyed by the army.

And although the Syrian authorities deny any oppression, the opposition has been eager to fuel revanchist sentiments in the “rebellious city.”

It is not surprising that when the anti-government protests of 2011 began, Hama was again among the first to flare up. Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad was reminded of both the political mistakes of his father and the excessive harshness of his uncle, Rifaat al-Assad (the commander of the 1982 operation in Hama).

And although Syrian troops managed to fully regain control over the province in 2017 and hold the rebellious city, it retained the unofficial status of an “anti-Assad stronghold,” and many sympathizers of the armed opposition remained among the population.

In 2024, Hama found itself in a semi-circle of advancing militants. And although Assad's supporters fought desperately, after breaking through the front from several sides at once, government troops did not stay in the city for too long, fearing, among other things, guerrilla attacks from the rear.

OUTLINES OF THE THREAT
After the anti-government forces take Hama, it is easy to predict where the radicals will move next. The spearhead of the militants' attack is directed along the M5 highway - first to Al-Rastan, and then to Homs, from where Damascus is less than 200 km away.

By taking control of these cities, the militants will not only be able to raise their sword over the capital (which HTS* propagandists never miss an opportunity to boast about), but also almost completely cut off the coastal regions of Syria, disrupting logistics and forcing government garrisons to go into a state of siege.

A certain threat in this case also arises for the Russian contingent in Syria - the Khmeimim airbase and the port of Tartus fall into the "cut-off zone". In addition, the risk of targeted strikes on Russian facilities on the territory of the republic increases - the militants are looking for ways to increase their own fleet of drones in order to more effectively hinder the work of Russian aviation.

However, Russian forces already had experience fighting terrorists in a “semi-siege” situation and are prepared for a possible deterioration of the situation.

In addition, the Russian Aerospace Forces are actively working on bridges connecting Hama with other major cities, which should slow the advance of anti-government forces and give Syrian troops time to regroup.

Finally, a secondary objective for anti-government forces in Syria is the destruction of Kurdish enclaves – a task that Turkish intelligence services have been setting for the “Idlib freebooters” for several years now.

After the capitulation of Tel Rifaat, pro-Turkish militants increased pressure on the "Kurdish strongholds" - the cities of Sheikh Maksoud and Manbij, and Kobani (also known as Ain al-Arab) came under fire. And although the US is behind the Kurdish militias, Ankara is trying to squeeze the Kurds out of their entrenched places as much as possible.

ISRAEL IS RIGHT HERE
The news of Hama's fall has stirred up the ranks of Moscow and Damascus's ill-wishers - many saw in what was happening an opportunity to solve their own geopolitical problems with someone else's hands. And we are not talking about Turkey, in whose interests the "northern adventure" was de facto unleashed.

One of the first to come to life was Israel, which had long been looking for ways to create a permanent “pressure point” on Iran in Syria. Tel Aviv is convinced that Tehran will not abandon Assad in trouble and will be forced to intervene in the conflict directly. Especially since Hezbollah and other pro-Iranian forces were seriously battered as a result of the conflict in Gaza and Lebanon and are not yet able to take on the mission of containing the militants.

And although the Israelis reject any public contacts with HTS*, the willingness of the group's leader, Muhammad al-Julani, to engage in dialogue with Israel after Assad's overthrow is perceived positively by them.

Britain has also seen its own advantage in the Syrian army's plight. British think tanks close to the Ministry of Defense and the intelligence services are drawing up "road maps" on how to lure the Russian fleet out of Tartus and, with Turkey's assistance, "lock" the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits.

And although most of these proposals sound more like science fiction, they should not be completely discounted.

As for the US, Washington is much more focused on protecting the interests of the Kurds and has no plans to make life difficult for Moscow. On the other hand, tribal militias loyal to Washington have already tried to probe the positions of government forces in Deir ez-Zor province several times, so more decisive actions aimed at depleting the reserves of the Syrian army cannot be ruled out.

However, the listed actions are still more of a tactical nature. External actors in the Syrian conflict understand that their combinations remain unnoticed only as long as the anti-government forces retain their offensive potential, which is quite problematic to calculate (given the squabbles in the ranks of the advancing militants).

The Mad Empress's Plan: How the French Conspiracy's Failure Saved Novorossiya
Direct Translation via Google Translation. Edited.
by Igor Ivanenko

[REGNUM] For the fact that Novorossiya appeared on the map of Russia, descendants should thank three women - empresses: Anna Ioannovna, Elizabeth Petrovna and Catherine II Alekseevna.

During the reign of the first of them, Anna Ioannovna, a fortified line was built on the lands of the former Wild Field, between the Dnieper and the Seversky Donets - the Ukrainian Defensive Line (the "Ukraine" was then the name for the Cossack lands in the middle Dnieper region). While the Russian army was "beating the Turks" in the steppes of the Black Sea region, the Zaporozhian Cossacks, settlers from the Great Russian provinces and descendants of old-timers-odnodvortsy settled at the edge of the empire.

The second, Elizabeth Petrovna, opened the way to the settlement of empty lands with hard-working and loyal colonists - the military-settlement provinces of New Serbia and Slavoserbia were created. As the names suggested, the migrants were refugees of the same faith and similar in language from the Ottoman Empire.

Finally, the third of the female rulers, Catherine the Great, united the Ukrainian line, Slavic Serbia and New Serbia into the Novorossiysk Governorate, whose borders expanded to the shores of the Black Sea, recaptured from the Turks by Rumyantsev-Zadunaisky and Suvorov. The victories of Russian arms guaranteed the rapid transformation of the former Tatar nomad camps into a region densely populated by Great Russians and Little Russians, a military outpost and trade gateway to the empire.

But on December 6, 1741, the day of Elizabeth Petrovna’s accession to the throne, nothing foreshadowed that she would be able to pass on the “Novorossiysk” baton from the despotic Anna to the enlightened Catherine.

And it was not about the supposedly frivolous nature of “Petrov’s daughter.”

When Alexei K. Tolstoy wrote, “Elizabeth was a cheerful queen, she sings and has fun – only there is no order” – he was still exaggerating.

The thing is that Elizabeth Petrovna's rise to power was, as they would say now, a pro-Western project. But in the end it turned out to be a huge disappointment for "our European partners."

THE SMALL BUT BLOODLESS FRENCH REVOLUTION
In order to describe the seizure of power by “the meek Elizabeth” (not the first, but far from the last in a series of St. Petersburg palace coups, which in European correspondence of those years were often called “revolutions”), it is necessary to at least briefly recall the specifics of the tsarist power of that time.

Peter the Great abolished the traditional order of transfer of power from father to eldest son, and up until Paul I, any member of the royal family who was lucky enough to secure the support of nobles and, most importantly, the guards, ended up on the throne. Thus, Peter's niece Anna Ioannovna, who had already "employed" her relatives, ended up on the throne.

In 1741, the emperor and autocrat was listed as Anna Ioannovna's grand-nephew, Ivan Antonovich, who was not even a year old. The infant tsar was ruled by his mother, the regent Anna Leopoldovna, and her husband, the Duke of Brunswick, Anton-Ulrich. The Brunswick family had recently overthrown (or rather, the guards had overthrown) the all-powerful temporary ruler Biron, but in his absence they could not cope with the government. Which irritated almost the entire elite.

And the soldiers of the Grenadier Company of the Preobrazhensky Regiment, who literally carried the Tsarevna into the Winter Palace, were generously rewarded from the purse of the French ambassador, the Marquis de la Chétardie. He is considered the "sponsor" of the conspiracy - hardly without the knowledge of his king, Louis XV the Beloved, perhaps the most influential ruler of Europe at that time.

THE CUNNING PLAN OF DOCTOR LESTOCQ
The organizers of the most bloodless of palace coups, however, had certain doubts about "Princess Elizabeth." Lestocq wrote that she, under the influence of "national sentiments," would contribute to Russia's self-isolation from Europe. But the bet was on the "princess's" political inexperience. Her "national sentiments" could be used to induce Elizabeth to renounce Peter's conquests - to the benefit of Europe.

By mid-1742, the first foreign policy program for her reign was formulated by the physician-in-ordinary Lestocq, who advised the young queen on state issues. This program was the fruit of a cunning, 18th-century-style, multi-move game.

The program envisaged rapprochement with France. This, they said, would free Russia from confrontation with our historical enemies - the Ottoman Empire and Sweden. Lestocq and Chétardie convinced Elizabeth that the Versailles court had great influence on both the Sultan and the Swedish king. And this was true - France was a constant and strong ally of the Turks and Swedes in the fight against Austria.

This circumstance was explained by the great influence of Versailles on Constantinople and Stockholm, which were historical allies of France in the struggle against Austria.

But the French had their own interests: for seven years Louis had been leading a coalition of European powers that was waging a grueling war with the Habsburgs. The War of the Austrian Succession of 1740–1748, which involved all the world players of the time – from England and Spain to Prussia – is generally considered one of the candidates for the “zero world wars.”

In this war, the Russian Empire “played” for the Austrians against the French.

The Lestocq plan removed our country from the ranks of France’s opponents and at the same time forced our historical enemies, the Swedes and the Turks, to become our “friends”.

If the plan had "succeeded", it would have changed history for the worse. Slavo-Serbia and other settlement provinces in the south would simply not have emerged. After all, the creation of our "colonies" on these lands contradicted the interests of Russia's "new allies" - the Ottoman Empire and the Crimean Khanate dependent on it.

The proposals of the personal physician fell on fertile ground, because at the beginning of her reign, Elizabeth Petrovna did not hide her Francophilia. But something went wrong.

MARIA THERESA, QUEEN OF HUNGARY
At the time of Elizabeth's coup, the Austrian Habsburgs were in particularly bad shape. The Prussian-French-Bavarian-Saxon coalition had taken control of Silesia, Bohemia, and even part of Austria proper. Spanish troops were threatening Austrian possessions in Italy. The very existence of the Danubian Empire was in question.

But it was at this moment that events occurred that predetermined, among other things, the Serbian colonization of the south of Russia.

In November 1741, the Austrian ruler Maria Theresa was proclaimed "king" of Hungary (since the feudal law of the Magyars did not allow for female rule) and turned to the Hungarian magnates for support.

The funds they collected were used to create a Hungarian militia. In addition, units of hussars, pandurs (mercenary infantry), border guards, and free shooters were formed from Austrian Slavs, including Serbs.

Thanks to these measures, a "small war" developed against Austria's enemies. Enemy communications, food warehouses, small garrisons and detachments were under constant attack. The hussars and militias were able to pin down the enemy forces, and the Austrians launched a counteroffensive.

All this made a strong impression on Russia, whose ally Austria was still formally under the treaty of 1726.

In addition, St. Petersburg appreciated Vienna’s sudden recognition of the imperial title of the Russian monarchs, which occurred in January 1742.

CHANCELLOR BESTUZHEV'S "U-TURN OVER THE ATLANTIC"
At the same time, an anti-French party emerged around the appointed Vice-Chancellor Alexei Bestuzhev-Ryumin, advocating an alliance with Austria and England. Bestuzhev entered into confrontation with the supporters of an alliance with Paris. The Empress supported Bestuzhev, who was appointed Chancellor in 1744.

In its significance, this patriotic turn can only be compared with Yevgeny Primakov’s famous “turn over the Atlantic”, after which Westernism began to disappear from our foreign policy.

Despite all of Elizabeth Petrovna’s Francophilia, the “merry queen” quickly gained experience in governing Russia, experience in understanding what “subtle European politics” is and what the geopolitical interests of the empire are.

In addition, it became known about an attempt to create an anti-Russian Prussian-Ottoman alliance.

Thus, it was impossible to rely on French guarantees of good-neighborliness between Russia and the Ottoman Empire. And this means that the southern border of the Romanov Empire clearly needed to be strengthened - from the Turks and Crimea.

HOW A SERB NAMED HORVAT APPEARED IN MIRGOROD
In these circumstances, reforms of the Austrian "Cossacks" - the Granichar (border guards), who were recruited from among the Serbs to serve on the southern borders of the Habsburg possessions, began in Austria very "timely". As a sign of gratitude to the Hungarians, Maria Theresa began to transfer the Granichar to the control of Magyar officers - which outraged the Serbian army.

Several commanders immediately began asking to serve the Orthodox Russian empress. Fortunately for them, in 1750, when these events were unfolding, the Russian ambassador to Austria was Mikhail Bestuzhev-Ryumin, the elder brother of the Russian chancellor.

He became interested in the idea of Serbian emigration and composed a maximally complimentary letter about it – a request to St. Petersburg.

The Empress expressed her readiness to accept the Serbs. Especially since "sister-empress" Maria Theresa gave the go-ahead for Colonels Ivan Horvat, Nikolai Chorba and other "toxic" opponents of military reform to switch from Austrian to Russian service.

In 1751, Colonel Horvat arrived in Russia and assured that several thousand more Serbs would follow him. The Empress initially planned to settle the colonists in the Volga region, but the Balkan residents wanted to stay closer to their native lands. And Elizabeth settled Horvat's team on the Right Bank of the Dnieper, in the area of the town of Novy Mirgorod (modern Novomirgorod).

Thus, on the territory of the current Kirovograd region of Ukraine, the military-settlement province of New Serbia was formed (inhabited by far from "pure-blooded Ukrainians"), and to the east of the Dnieper, in the north of the current DPR and LPR, the province of Slavyanoserbia. So Donbass became our "new territories" long before 2022 and even 2014.

Soon, the fortress of Saint Elizabeth was built to protect New Serbia from Tatar raids, later Elisavetgrad (now Kirovograd, or in the terminology of the Kyiv regime, "Kropyvnytsky"). It was in this fortress, populated by Russian and Serbian colonists, that the governing bodies of the new Novorossiysk province were located.

MOLDOVANS ARE NOT MIGRANT WORKERS
Only “people from Moldova, Wallachia, Macedonia, Serbia” and “not from any other peoples” were allowed to settle in New Serbia, as well as in Slavic Serbia created to the east of the Dnieper (it was located in the north of today’s DPR and LPR). Settlers were attracted by tax breaks, land grants, salaries and subsidies.

However, hopes for a mass influx of Serbian border guards did not materialize. Austrian authorities began to restrict the activities of Russian recruiters, who quite quickly managed to persuade hundreds of willing people to emigrate. Criminal liability was introduced for military settlers who tried to leave for neighboring countries without permission.

A way out in replenishing the New Serbian and Slavic Serbian regiments was found in recruiting Moldavians. In December 1754, the population of New Serbia was 2,225 men and 1,694 women. Moldavians and Vlachs made up 76% of the male population.

But the command positions in the province were occupied only by Serbian officers. The number of male Serbian population at that time was 257 people, Macedonians - 124, Hungarians - 79, Bulgarians - 57.

The bulk of the Moldavian settlers came from the Prut and Dniester interfluve, as well as from Podolia. The Moldavians were pushed to New Serbia by the oppression inflicted on them in their native principality by the Turks and especially the Tatars. A large influx of Moldavian settlers to the Dnieper was recorded in 1758, when Moldavia was subjected to the most devastating Tatar raid in its history.

The Serbian military-settlement provinces became the first experience of integrating Moldavians into the Novorossiysk project. Under Catherine II, it was used during the creation of the Bug (largely Moldavian-Balkan) Cossack army, generous land grants to the Moldavian nobility and their recruitment into service.

A SPRINGBOARD FOR A PUSH TO THE SOUTH
However, the growth rate of immigrants on the Right Bank of the Dnieper was not as high as the authorities expected. As of 1757, 5,482 immigrants (both sexes) lived here, and as of 1761, 11,179.

The Novoslobodsky Cossack Regiment, located near New Serbia, grew significantly faster. But the Cossacks settled on the border of the Wild Field for free, while the "regular" military-settlement provinces consumed significant resources.

The last episode in the organized migration of Serbs from the Habsburg Empire was 1758. Then a large group of 800 settlers came from the Balkans. When recruited, they introduced themselves as Montenegrins (Venetian subjects with extensive experience in wars with the Turks), but in Russia most of them admitted that they were Serbian "philistines", that is, peaceful residents from the Austrian possessions. Most of them had no military experience.

After the story with the false Montenegrins, the government of Elizabeth Petrovna closed down the very expensive project of resettling foreigners. Especially since there were no free funds in the treasury in the conditions of the tense Seven Years' War.

Seriously strengthening the southern borderland with Serbian regiments in the mid-18th century was not possible, as was demonstrated by the events of the Russo-Turkish War of 1768-1774, which was waged by the third strong woman on the Russian throne - Catherine the Great. Nevertheless, New Serbia played an important political role, limiting the contacts of the Zaporizhian Sich with Poland, which was hostile to us.

It is symbolic that the restless and difficult to control Sich was eventually dispersed by the Russian troops of General-in-Chief Peter Tekeli, a Serb who had switched from Austrian to Russian service.

The demographic echo of the existence of New Serbia and Slavoserbia continued to be felt until recently. According to the last All-Ukrainian population census of 2001, the Kirovograd and Donetsk regions were characterized by some of the most significant Moldavian communities (8.2 and 7.3 thousand people, respectively). It is difficult to explain their formation in the Dnieper region and on the Seversky Donets by anything other than the resettlement policy of Elizabeth Petrovna.

And most importantly, during the joyful reign of Elizabeth, the empire, with the help of military and diplomatic force, steadily advanced to the south. In order to later “grow” with the fertile lands of the Black Sea region – which now have to be returned with a fight.

Fetterman Offers an Unlikely Plan to Bind Up the Nation's Wounds — PJ Media
[PJMEDIA] The most sensible Democrat in the land, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), is still a man of the left, and so moments of madness are almost as frequent from him as moments of insight, but he has come a very long way down a road that most leftists never travel at all. On Thursday's episode of ''The View,'' of all places, he demonstrated a remarkable and unprecedented honesty among leftists regarding the legal persecution of President-elect Trump and offered an intriguing suggestion for what could be done to end it. He still isn't all the way out of the cult, but Fetterman's heart is clearly in the right place.

Fox News reported Thursday that Fetterman told the assembled harridans of "The View" not only that the case against Trump was "politically motivated," but also that the case against Hunter Biden was likewise a partisan affair. Well, Senator, you're batting .500.

It was remarkable to hear a Democrat admit that the case against Trump was a political persecution designed to put him out of the running for reelection, but that doesn't change the fact that Hunter Biden appeared to be guilty of some very real and extremely serious crimes, and that Old Joe has done the nation a grave disservice by helping him escape justice and proving once again that no one is above the law except well-connected far-left Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
"I think it's undeniable,'' Fetterman asserted (without evidence, as the establishment media likes to say of Trump), ''that the case against Hunter Biden was really politically motivated.'' Then, however, this most unlikely of clear-thinking leftists demonstrated once again his ability to reason for himself and courage to depart from the party line. ''But I also think,'' Fetterman added, ''it's true that the trial in New York for Trump, that was political as well, too. Now, in both cases, I think a pardon is appropriate."

A pardon is not actually appropriate. For Trump to accept a pardon would be a tacit admission that he has done something wrong. Trump should continue fighting all of these cases until the very last one is withdrawn so that the American people and the world on the lam can see beyond any shadow of a doubt that there was nothing to them in the first place beyond the Democrats' willingness to corrupt the justice system in pursuit of the destruction of the man they hate and fear beyond anyone or anything else in the world.

What's more, the case against Trump in New York doesn't involve any federal charges, so Biden couldn't issue a pardon even if he wanted to. Nevertheless, even if Biden's handlers prompted him to make a statement admitting that all the cases against Trump were more partisan political lawfare than the noble pursuit of justice, it would go a long way toward binding the nation's wounds and enabling us to move forward as one nation, with malice toward none and charity for all. That, of course, will never happen even if Old Joe lives to be a million years old.

Fetterman, however, was on point, at least in regard to the cases against Trump, when he added, "And I really think collectively, you know, America's confidence in these kinds of institutions has been damaged by these kinds of cases, and we cannot allow these kinds of institutions to be weaponized against our political opponents, and it's very clear both trials were politically motivated and weaponized on the other side."

At that point, Joy Behar brought another case of the Democrats' legal persecution of Trump: the phony Jan. 6 ''insurrection'' as she ''suggested the incoming Trump administration would be defending a pardon for them using a similar argument to the one offered by Fetterman.'' In reality, Trump needs to go much farther than saying that the Jan. 6 prosecutions were politically motivated. He needs to call them out as the crime against innocent people that they were and call for a full and open investigation of the left's fabrication of the entire ''insurrection'' narrative.

-Great Cultural Revolution
The Men Who Walked Away
by Mark Steyn

[SteynOnline] I loathe the annual commemorations of the Montreal Massacre. I especially dislike the way it's become a state occasion, with lowered flags, like Remembrance Day. But, in this case, whatever honour we do the dead, we spend as much time dishonouring the living -- or at least the roughly fifty per cent of Canadians who happen to be male: For women's groups, the Montreal Massacre is an atrocity that taints all men, and for which all men must acknowledge their guilt. Marc Lépine symbolizes the murderous misogyny that lurks within us all.

M Lépine was born Gamil Gharbi, the son of an Algerian Muslim wife-beater, whose brutalized spouse told the court at their divorce hearing that her husband "had a total disdain for women and believed they were intended only to serve men." At eighteen, young Gamil took his mother's maiden name. The Gazette in Montreal mentioned this in its immediate reports of the massacre. The name "Gamil Gharbi" has not sullied its pages in the thirteen years since.

Ah, well, I would bring that up, wouldn't I? Just for the record, I'm not saying that M Lépine is representative of Algerian manhood or Muslim manhood. I'm saying he shouldn't be representative of anything -- least of all, the best efforts of women's groups and the convenient gloss of that pure laine name notwithstanding, Canadian manhood.

This spring, there was an attempted gun massacre at the Appalachian School of Law in West Virginia. But, alas for the Appalachians' M Lépine, there were two gun-totin' students present who were able to pin down the would-be mass murderer until the cops arrived.

Allan Rock stepping forward to recite the relevant portions of the gun registry requirements would have been far less effective. Generally speaking, when the psycho shows up and opens fire, your best hope is that there's someone else around with a gun to hand -- a situation Canadian law has now rendered all but impossible.

Coalition of Black Churches Representing 28 Million Americans Demands MSNBC Fire Al Sharpton, Calls for Investigation into Kamala Harris Payments
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] A powerful coalition of African American churches is calling for the suspension and investigation of MSNBC host civil rights hustler Al Sharpton
...Tawana Brawley's spiritual advisor...
, alleging that donations from Kamala Harris
launched her campaign on the “RuPaul’s Drag Race”
's campaign to Sharpton's National Action Network have compromised the integrity of the black Church and journalism.
*Snicker*
Last week, MSNBC admitted it was ''unaware'' that Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential campaign had paid $500,000 to Al Sharpton's National Action Network nonprofit ahead of a favorable interview with the Democratic nominee on October 20, just weeks before the election, according to Fox News.

After Harris's defeat to President-elect Donald Trump
...They hit him with slander, they impeached him twice. Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down...
, Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings revealed that the Harris campaign made two $250,000 donations to Sharpton's National Action Network in early September and October.

Despite the apparent conflict of interest, the MSNBC weekend host did not disclose the donations to viewers or to the network executives about the payments before or after the interview.

According to a report by the Washington Free Beacon, who first broke the story, Harris's donation was part of a larger $5.4 million spending spree aimed at boosting her favorability among Black and Latino groups — a strategy that, as we know, fell flat.

Now, the National Black Church Initiative (NBCI), representing 27.7 million churchgoers and 150,000 churches across the country, issued a scathing blurb demanding transparency about a reported $500,000 payment from Harris's campaign to Sharpton's organization.

The NBCI says the payment raises questions about the ethics of both Sharpton and MSNBC, where Sharpton is a prominent host.

Rev. Anthony Evans, President of the NBCI, described the situation as a ''moral stain'' on the black Church and called on Sharpton to provide full transparency regarding the funds.

Caribbean-Latin America
Mexican Officials Dissolve 'Migrant Caravan' Headed to US, Activists Say
[THEEPOCHTIMES] Authorities in Mexico dissolved two caravans of would-be illegal immigrants colonists heading to the United States, just days after President-elect Donald Trump
...So far he's been unkillable, and they've tried....
warned he would levy a 25 percent tariff on imports from the country.

Migrant activists said this week that some were bused to cities in southern Mexico, and others were offered transit papers. Migrant rights activist Luis Garcia Villagran said the breaking-up of the two caravans appeared to be part of ''an agreement between the president of Mexico and the president of the United States.''

The first of the caravans started out from the southern Mexico city of Tapachula, near the border with Guatemala, on Nov. 5, the day Trump was elected. At its height, it had about 2,500 people. In almost four weeks of walking, it had gone about 270 miles to Tehuantepec in the state of Oaxaca, activists said.

In Tehuantepec, Mexican immigration officials offered the migrants colonists free bus rides to other cities in southern or central Mexico, members of the caravan and activists said.
That doesn’t sound like they’re being sent home, or even out of Mexico, but rather just being made less visible for their next pass at the American border.
''They took some of us to Acapulco, others to Morelia, and others from our group to Oaxaca city,'' said Barbara Rodriguez, an opposition supporter who left her native Venezuela

...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south...

after that country's contested presidential elections earlier this year.

The second caravan of about 1,500 migrants colonists set out on Nov. 20 and made it about 140 miles to the town of Tonala, in Chiapas state, activists say. There, authorities offered a sort of transit visa that allows travel across Mexico for 20 days.

Italian nun among 25 arrested in raid against ''Ndrangheta mafia
[NYPOST] Italian police arrested a nun known for her prison work and 24 other people on Thursday as part of an investigation into the 'Ndrangheta Mafia in the northern city of Brescia, three sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Rooters.

They said Sister Anna Donelli, a volunteer in Milan's San Vittore prison, is suspected of Mafia collusion and of acting as a go-between for the criminal group and its locked away
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
gang members.

The nun, 57, is also well known for her service in Milan's run-down districts.

In February, she was one of the recipients of the ''Golden Panettone,'' an annual Milanese civic award.

It was not immediately possible to reach the nun's lawyer for comment.

A police blurb said two local politicians were also arrested, and that $1.89 million had been seized in the operation.

The statement did not name any of the people targeted by the raid.

Suspects are accused of various crimes, including Mafia association, vote-buying, illegal possession of weapons, money laundering, loan-sharking, drug dealing, and false invoicing, the police statement added.

The alleged gang was connected to the issuance of 12 million euros worth of invoices for non-existent transactions that enabled complicit entrepreneurs to lower their income and evade taxes in return for a commission paid to mobsters.

Romania annuls first round of presidential votes won by far-right candidate
[NYPOST] Romania's top court annulled the first round of presidential elections on Friday over allegations that Russia interfered to prop up far-right outsider Calin Georgescu, who won the first round.

The unprecedented, binding decision from the country's Constitutional Court means that the second round run-off election scheduled for Sunday, which would have pitted Georgescu and his centrist rival Elena Lasconi against each other, has been canceled.

Sitting President Klaus Iohannis declassified intelligence on Wednesday that revealed Russia ran a sweeping social media campaign consisting of thousands of accounts to promote Georgescu across platforms like TikTok and Telegram.

Georgescu, an outsider nationalist who claimed he spent zero money campaigning, suddenly emerged as the front-runner on Nov. 24.

Romania police raid houses linked to probe of vote after election cancelation

[IsraelTimes] Romanian police raid houses linked to a probe into alleged irregularities in the first-round presidential election win of far-right outsider Calin Georgescu, a day after the top court canceled the imminent run-off.

Three houses in Brasov city in central Romania are being searched as part of the investigation “in connection with crimes of voter corruption, money laundering, computer forgery,” says a statement from the prosecutor’s office

Syrian government forces strengthen defense line in Homs province
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Syrian government army has strengthened its defense line in the Homs province in the central part of the republic, the Syrian Defense Ministry reported on December 6.

This is how the department responded to information that appeared that the troops had allegedly left the region.

“The information published on terrorist resources about the withdrawal of the army from Homs does not correspond to reality,” the Defense Ministry noted in a statement on the social network Facebook (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation; it belongs to the Meta company, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

As reported by Regnum News Agency, on December 5, the Syrian Defense Ministry denied information that armed anti-government groups had broken through to the city of Hama, the administrative center of the province of the same name. The Defense Ministry emphasized that the situation in the entire territory of the settlement is stable and safe.

Militant groups in Syria launched an offensive against government army positions in the Aleppo region on November 27. The terrorists were able to capture 13 settlements. The Syrian army launched a counteroffensive against militants in Aleppo and Idlib on November 29.

The press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the militants' offensive on the positions of the Syrian government troops is an encroachment on the sovereignty of that country. He specified that Russia is in favor of restoring constitutional order on Syrian territory.

On December 1, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Damascus. The Syrian leader stressed that the republic's authorities continue to fight terrorism throughout its territory. The Iranian minister, in turn, confirmed Tehran's readiness to provide Damascus with various types of support to fight militants.
Homs is expected to fall this weekend

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Daniel Penny trial judge agrees to drop top manslaughter count after jury deadlocks twice
[NYPost] Manhattan prosecutors were forced to take the drastic step of tossing the top charge against Daniel Penny
…the young retired Marine architecture student who, with two gentlemen of colour who were not charged by DA Alvin Bragg, restrained homeless schizophrenic Jordan Neely until the police arrived and took the still-breathing man off their hands. Mr. Neely had 40 prior arrests including violent attacks, and was loudly working himself up to attack riders in that car, in part because of the apparently interesting drugs in his bloodstream...
Friday after jurors twice said they couldn’t agree on a verdict in the highly watched subway chokehold case.

The note from jurors stating that they were deadlocked on the count of manslaughter in the second-degree sparked a dizzying and dramatic back-and-forth that ended with Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Maxwell Wiley agreeing to dismiss the rap.

“I’ll take a chance and grant the people’s application,” Wiley said, instructing the jury to return Monday and deliberate the charge of criminally negligent homicide, which carries a lighter sentence.

“Whether that makes any difference or not, I have no idea. But I’m going to direct you to focus your deliberations on count two,” he said with a touch of deadpan humor — before telling them: “Go home and think about something else.”

Which proves this is a political court, not a court of law. If the first charge results in a hung jury, the judge anywhere else would declare a mistrial and everything would start over.

The arguments and focus has been mostly on count one, but now the jury is tainted in how it looks at count two and I guarantee if they find him guilty an appeals court will overturn it.

I'm close to just thinking the NY court is in a state of insurrection and every member needs hung.

Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson arrested by FBI on public corruption charges
[NYPOST] FBI special agents arrested embattled Boston councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson for an alleged kickback scheme in which she pocketed thousands in cash from a staffer in exchange for a large bonus

Fernandes Anderson was seen being taken into custody by federal authorities outside of her home in Dorchester on Friday morning, WCVB reported. She is expected to appear in court later this afternoon.

In late 2022, the councilor hired a relative to be on her staff and then defrauded the city when she finagled a deal with the staffer to receive ''additional compensation but would kickback most of this bonus pay,'' according to a court filing by the US Attorney's Office in Massachusetts.

Daniel Greenfield: Biden’s Ceasefire for Israel Started a War in Syria
by Daniel Greenfield

[FrontPage] After months of fighting, Israel had devastated Hezbollah, capturing enemy fortresses and weapons depots, and taking out much of its leadership along with over 3,500 of its terrorists.

Biden responded by using a weapons embargo on Israel to force an end to the war, but instead of ending the war, his administration had actually managed to restart a much deadlier war.

Israel’s campaign against Hezbollah led to less than 4,000 deaths in Lebanon, while the Syrian Civil War that the Biden administration restarted has racked up over 600,000 deaths so far.

Not only hasn’t the fighting with Israel ended, but a much bloodier war has begun all over again.

The false pursuit of peace with terrorists in the Middle East has once again brought on a war by diplomats who support terrorists and do not understand how the Muslim world works.

The ceasefire that Biden falsely described as a “permanent cessation of hostilities” has not actually ended the fighting with Israel, but it has allowed Hezbollah to regroup and return to areas that the Islamic terrorist group had been driven out of at a high cost for Israeli soldiers. Even while the Biden administration was taking its victory lap, Hezbollah terrorists were once again setting up rocket launchers and Israel was once again taking them out.

After the ceasefire announcement, Hezbollah’s Shiite population flooded back into the war zone, waving yellow Hezbollah flags, while much of Israel’s displaced population did not return knowing that they could put no trust in the same failed promises from the ‘international community’ that the rocket attacks on their homes and schools would come to an end.

The Biden administration had ensured that Israel would not be able to enjoy the fruits of victory, nor would Lebanon’s Christian population which continues to live under Islamist domination.

Instead, Islamic Sunni and Shiite terrorists became the only beneficiaries of the ceasefire.

Once Biden got his ‘ceasefire’, Turkey and its allied Sunni Jihadists, some aligned with Al Qaeda, decided to exploit Hezbollah’s vulnerability by launching a bid for Syria. The Biden administration had used every available tool, including reportedly threats of an UN arms embargo, to force Israel to stop attacking Hezbollah, but did nothing to stop Turkey.

The Three-Body Problem and Determinism
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the Live Journal account of smertnyy

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

The Netflix series "Three Body Problem" is an excellent adaptation of the book. Star Trek TNG alum Rosalind Chao is one of the main characters.

[ColonelCassad] In a recent conversation about understanding quantum mechanics, it occurred to me that the essence of Liu Cixin's novel "The Three-Body Problem" is to show the modern problem of physics: the irreproducibility of results ruins scientific activity.

In the novel, aliens ruin the scientific activity of earthlings, making it impossible for them to obtain reproducible scientific results. Scientists all over the world are either quitting science or committing suicide, because it is becoming impossible to do science. This reflects the problem of modern physics working with the quantum world. Modern physicists talk about the irreproducibility of experimental results in the quantum world.

For example, Feynman: "One philosopher said: "For the very existence of science, it is absolutely necessary that the same results always be obtained under the same conditions." Well, this does not work. You can accurately reproduce all the conditions, and still not be able to predict in which hole you will see an electron." There is also a problem with scientific activity in modern physics. There is no development of physics.

The refusal to reproduce results has led to the impossibility of developing physics, the impossibility of developing a theory. And the impossibility of reproducing the results of experiments is a refusal of causality, i.e. a refusal of determinism. It is impossible to reproduce the results of experiments, which means it is impossible to draw conclusions. No conclusions - no reasoning. No reasoning - no theory.

And modern physicists eloquently demonstrate this to everyone! Everything that they produce in experiments in the quantum world is interpretation. In fact, these are fantasies. It was shameful to write that these are fantasies, so they came up with a replacement word - "interpretations". Yes, of course, these fantasies are limited by the results of experiments, but that's all. It is impossible to reason. Any reasoning is based on causality, i.e. on the reproducibility of results.

Therefore, this novel is an excellent example of science fiction. But why don't these modern physicists in our reality kill themselves like in the novel?! When will they start?! If they suddenly start, I will open a shamanic one.

The current scientific problem in the novel is raised beautifully, but unnoticed (!!), which is funny. Reviewers and critics of the novel see only an analysis of the problem of life in a system with three suns (the homeland of aliens). And this is not the most important moment in the novel.

P.S. The article serves as an addendum to the article "Determinism. The essence of the concept and the history of understanding. Causality or chance?"
P.S. I do not agree with the interpretation of modern physicists that the results of experiments in the quantum world are irreproducible under the same conditions. They are irreproducible because it is impossible to repeat the conditions. In my opinion, physicists ignore the non-repeatability of experimental conditions in the quantum world. But this is a separate issue.

I liked the novel's peculiar line more, when the plot actually shows what happens if you pardon a relative of an enemy of the people. It is unlikely that this was directly implied by the author, but it looks like the main villain who doomed humanity to destruction was the daughter of an enemy of the people. Who, out of mercy, was decided to be given a second chance, and she used it to take revenge, and not only on the Communist Party or China, but on all of humanity.

#1  I'm not sure I understand the argument.

There's a huge problem with fields of science being subjugated by politicized pseudoscience.

It is also true that there has not been some fundamental innovation in theoretical physics for some decades in the face of puzzling observational findings about the nature of the universe at a grand scale.

But there's no reproducibility problem pertaining to quantum mechanics related physical phenomena.

QED for example is one of the most accurate theories known to us.

Also macroscopic phenomena that can only explained by quantum mechanics, like e.g. superconductivity, were discovered and explored by conducting reproducible experiments sometimes decades before the development of suitable quantum theories.
Posted by: Elmerert Hupens2660 || 12/07/2024 9:07 Comments || Top||

#2  The way my feeble mind understands the three body problem is that the problem is more about predictability than reproducibility.

Two celestial bodies interacting with one another can be predicted as to location at the instance they interact and how they interact using mathematics and quantum mechanics. A mathematical model can then be assembled.

But, when a third body is introduced, the predictability becomes much more difficult/complex and thus, the assembly of a mathematical model of the relative motions of the three bodies becomes extremely complex, so much so errors begin to creep in with the calculations.

The introduction of the third body is itself a problem.

YMMV

Government Corruption
How Democrats ''debanked'' political opponents in shocking attack on American freedoms
[NYPOST] President Biden has overseen nearly four years of a two-tiered justice system, as his pardoning of Hunter Biden and the political persecutions of then-candidate Donald Trump
...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party...
make all too clear.

But there have been quieter attacks on justice, like ''debanking'' — and few people realize they could be the next victims because they are a ''politically exposed person,'' that is someone who disagrees with the liberal status quo.

Debanking is a kind of financial blackballing that has appeared within just the last 20 years.

It started under then-President Barack Obama
How much damage could he do in four years?... Eight, then...
as a war to punish those seen as political enemies, like firearm manufacturers. Government documents unsealed at the end of 2020 proved that the federal government used its regulatory authority over financial markets to attack political opponents.

Government regulators essentially make it impossible for certain people or businesses to make online transactions, or to have a bank account or a credit card.

Dr. Joseph Mercola, a critic of the COVID vaccine, found his business accounts shut down by JP Morgan Chase, a move his chief financial officer claimed was at the same time Mercola spoke out against the Food and Drug Administration.

In her new memoir, Melania Trump says her bank account was terminated after the riots of Jan. 6, 2021, and her son Barron was unable to open his own account. She called it ''political discrimination.''

In the modern world, exclusion from electronic financial services is an economic death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
Regulators will claim that they're not technically forbidding a private bank from doing business with an individual, and that the bank is freely choosing not to have that person as a customer.

But the reality is very different — because of the undue influence and control in the hands of today's bloated administrative state.

A bureaucrat can make someone's life so difficult that the victim is forced to comply — the government strong-arming a private individual or institution into doing what the government itself cannot do by law.

It's like when the Biden administration pressured social-media companies into deplatforming anyone who questioned political talking points about the COVID pandemic.

The debanking scourge under President Biden has hit the crypto world particularly hard. The Securities and Exchange Commission has unleashed a plague of investigations, some real and some merely threatened, to force innovators and investors out of that space.

Dozens of tech and crypto founders have been debanked under Biden, and their inventions smothered.

On Joe Rogan's podcast, venture capitalist Marc Andreessen blamed the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a group set up at the behest of Sen. Elizabeth Being Native American has been part of my story since the day I was born Warren
...The Great White Squaw, Lizzie is the Dem Senatrix from Massachussetts. She traces her noble lineage all the way back to Big Chief Spouting Bull. She has high cheekbones that stretch all the way to the top of her head. It has been alleged that she speaks with forked tongue but she denies that. She had a DNA test to prove her lineage and it turns out she's colorless...
(D-Mass.) to go after crypto firms in particular.

''Basically every crypto founder, every crypto startup, either got debanked personally and forced out of the industry, or their company got debanked,'' Andreessen said.

Andreessen added that others, like Kanye West, have been debanked, ''For having the wrong politics. For saying unacceptable things. Under current banking regulations, after all the reforms of the last 20 years, there's now a category called a politically exposed person, PEP. And if you are a PEP, you are required by financial regulators to kick them off, to kick them out of your bank.''

President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, has pointed out that many Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
have been on an anti-crypto crusade as they attempt to wash off the stink of FTX and Sam Bankman Fried — the crypto scammer and fraud who gave massive campaign donations to Democratic politicians.

The problem goes far beyond crypto or the tech industry, however. And it's bigger than just the Biden administration, which uses surrogates like the Southern Poverty Law Center to fallaciously label any conservative institution a ''hate group.'' Doing business with a group that engages in ''hate'' can get a financial institution dinged by regulators for increased ''reputational risk.''

What does that have to do with a creditor's ability to repay a loan or the solvency of a bank or the worth of an individual's assets? Nothing. The radical left's push to debank anyone with whom they disagree has nothing to do with sound financial principles — it's all politics.

Anyone who appreciates freedom and the rule of law should be supremely grateful that the incoming president has put the babus bureaucrats on notice: Their days of covertly forcing political compliance are numbered.

Durov summoned to court in Paris for the first time since arrest
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] On December 6, Telegram messenger co-founder Pavel Durov appeared in court for the first time since his arrest in France for questioning on the merits of the case regarding his possible involvement in criminal activity carried out using his messenger. This was reported by the AFP agency.

Durov arrived at the court at 10:00 a.m. together with his lawyers David-Olivier Kaminski and Christophe Ingren. He did not give any comments to the media, stating only that he “believes in French justice.”

The publication noted that the equipment that the police confiscated from Durov and his companion Yulia Vavilova was returned only on December 5.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the privacy policy of the Telegram messenger since 2018 provides for the transfer of data of criminals of most countries to the authorities. The company has not adopted any innovations in this regard. This was stated on October 2 by Pavel Durov, who was accused in France of refusing to provide such information.

Durov was detained at Le Bourget Airport in Paris on August 24. The corresponding warrant was issued by the French National Office of the Judicial Police (OFMIN) based on a preliminary investigation. Durov was placed in custody. France considers him involved in the commission of crimes due to Telegram's refusal to cooperate with the authorities.

On September 6, the entrepreneur said that he had set a goal to reduce the possibility of using Telegram for criminal purposes. Criminals can abuse the platform, especially against the backdrop of an increase in the number of users. Telegram in particular and social networks in general should become safer, Durov believes.

Tehran Demands Kyiv Stop Supporting Terrorists in Syria
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Iranian Foreign Ministry demanded that Ukraine immediately stop supporting terrorist groups in Syria. This is stated in a statement by the department.

"Assistant Minister and Head of the Eurasia Department Mojtaba Damircilu, pointing to some reports of illegal arms trade by some Ukrainian officials and the country's support for terrorist groups in Syria, called these actions a clear violation of countries' international obligations to prevent and combat terrorism and demanded that they be stopped immediately," the statement said.

Damirchilu added that Kyiv's actions are an expression of immoral policy and threaten stability in the Middle East. The diplomat noted that an alliance with terrorists always threatens global security and contributes to the spread of violence in the world.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on November 27, militant groups in Syria launched an offensive against government army positions in the Aleppo region. The terrorists were able to capture 13 settlements.

On December 4, the American newspaper NYT wrote that the Kiev regime is providing support to terrorists in Syria, who are coordinating their actions against the Russian military.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that Russia resolutely supports the efforts of the Syrian authorities against the backdrop of the escalation, in which there is clearly a Ukrainian trace.

Lavrov on Syria: Many players are involved in this complex game

Russia, Turkey and Iran are concerned about the situation in Syria and intend to discuss the need to return to strict compliance with the Idlib agreements. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

"After everything that happened in Aleppo and its environs, I spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, as well as with my Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi... I hope we will be able to meet in Doha "on the sidelines" of the international conference. We would like to discuss the need to return to strict compliance with the Idlib agreements, because the Idlib de-escalation zone became the place from which the terrorists moved to seize Aleppo," Lavrov noted in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.

The minister added that there is publicly available information about the support of Islamic groups in Syria by the Americans, the British and others. There is also talk of Israel's interest in worsening the situation so that the Gaza Strip is not under close attention. Many players are involved in this "complex game," Lavrov concluded.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, on November 27, militant units in Syria launched an offensive against government army positions in the Aleppo region. The terrorists were able to capture 13 settlements. After that, Syrian soldiers launched a counteroffensive against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) militants in Aleppo and Idlib. The government army also managed to liberate the city of Al-Bakum.

On December 2, the command of the Syrian government army stated that the country's troops and the Russian Aerospace Forces had destroyed more than 400 militants in the Aleppo and Idlib provinces in a few hours.

On December 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. They focused on the aggravated situation in Syria and noted that the large-scale aggression committed by militants is aimed at undermining the sovereignty, political and socio-economic stability of this country.

On December 3, Putin discussed the situation in Syria in a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the conversation, the Russian leader pointed out the need to stop terrorist aggression against that country.

Iran ''dramatically'' increasing enrichment to near bomb grade: IAEA chief
[GEO.TV] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
is "dramatically" increasing the amount of uranium enriched to up to 60% purity, close to the roughly 90% of weapons grade, that it is able to produce, the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi told Rooters in an interview.

The move is certain to cause even greater alarm in Western capitals already arguing that there is no civilian justification for Iran's enrichment to that level as no other country has done so without producing nuclear bombs, which Iran denies pursuing.

Iran already has enough material enriched to up to 60%, its most highly enriched stock, for four nuclear weapons in principle if it enriched it further, according to an IAEA yardstick. It has enough for more at lower enrichment levels.

"Today the agency is announcing that the production capacity is increasing dramatically of the 60% inventory," the watchdog's chief Grossi said on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue security conference in Bahrain's capital.

He added that it was set to rise to "seven, eight times more, maybe, or even more" than the previous rate of 5-7 kg a month.

The Grand Turk
'The march continues.' Erdogan chose the perfect moment to strike Syria
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Leonid Savin

[REGNUM] Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has broken the curtain of silence and finally spoken out about the sharp escalation of the situation in Syria. And his words can be considered sensational without exaggeration.

"Idlib, Hama, Homs and the goal, of course, is Damascus. The opposition march in Syria continues. We hope that it will be without upheavals and disasters," the Turkish leader essentially revealed the militants' plans to seize the Syrian capital. Erdogan then complained that attempts to reach an agreement "in a good way" were fruitless: "We appealed to Assad with a call to jointly determine the future of Syria. Unfortunately, this call was not answered positively."
Not just a tin ear, but a lead one.
With such statements, Erdogan is essentially turning the chessboard of the Syrian conflict upside down and is rushing to consolidate the successes that the militants have achieved on the ground in the political plane. However, for those who professionally follow the situation in the region, such a development of events was not too stunning.
He thought the Kurds annoying. The Syrians are an entirely different kettle of piranhas — back when the Ottoman empire was a thing and not just a Playboy centerfold, the sultan’s army had to regularly decimate their Arab population just to keep their troublesomeness down to a dull roar. Hama Rules, if your men have the will.
Literally on the eve of the events in northern Syria, where Turkish-backed Islamist militants launched a fairly effective offensive and captured Aleppo, Hama and a number of other cities, meetings were held in Ankara with representatives of various think tanks and the academic community dealing with foreign policy issues.

In open and behind-the-scenes conversations, it was felt that some events were coming, in particular, the idea was expressed that the “Astana process” for the Syrian settlement had been exhausted and Russia should understand Turkey’s interests in determining the type of political unity in Syria. However, the matter does not end with the relations between Russia, Syria and Turkey.

In Turkey, current political processes are viewed through the prism of interconnected events not only in Syria, but also in Libya, Ukraine, and Nagorno-Karabakh, which came under the control of Azerbaijan. The Islamist militants have also been seen wearing symbols of “Eastern Turkestan” and “Grey Wolves,” which indicates at least the nominal presence of supporters of the pan-Turkic project in their ranks.
That’s what Turkey is paying them for. Statistically at least a few should believe in it.
If previously there was a clear belief that the United States is the leading external force in the Middle East, now in Ankara they are talking about a political vacuum that has formed that needs to be filled.
It will be on January 20th, my dears. But y’all carry on roistering about the landscape while still you can.
Without claiming to be a great power, Turkey, observing what is happening and other countries in the Middle East and Central Asia, has come to the conclusion that middle powers can also benefit greatly from the current geopolitical turbulence associated with conflicts and competition among great powers.

It is likely that the current round of escalation represents such a rationalization (from the Turkish point of view) due to the status quo in the Turkey-Iraq-Syria triangle. But if Ankara has managed to achieve some progress with the Iraqi leadership (despite the occupation of part of Northern Iraq by Turkish troops and regular bombing of Kurdish settlements),
…(a pungent point)…
then the situation with Syria is more complicated.

The Syrian issue is now taking on existential features for Ankara. This is due, firstly, to the large number of Syrian refugees in Turkey, who, given the current inflation, are becoming a kind of scapegoat. It is easiest to declare them the cause of internal problems, of which Ankara has many. Secondly, the Kurdish paramilitary formations are a real pain in the neck for the Turks. Thirdly, due to previously established contacts with the Syrian opposition, Turkey is counting on a political agreement, but there is still no such agreement.

At the same time, Turkey understands that the accumulating issues are creating contradictions within the country, and their resolution requires the active participation of Syria, Iran, Russia, and the United States.

With Donald Trump elected as the new US president, Ankara will have to balance hard, as it is not yet clear what strategy Washington will choose.
I feel seen, as the kids say nowadays.
It is possible that US troops will be withdrawn from both Syria and Iraq. For Ankara, an increase in the Russian military contingent would be preferable, as Russia does not put pressure on Turkey. On the other hand, it also sought to push Bashar al-Assad to a more compromising position, as Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants.

Turkey would probably be willing to leave Syria if there were no threats coming from there. But as long as there are militant Kurdish groups there, there is no such certainty. The Kurds, for their part, are not ready to disarm, especially given their experience of confronting ISIS* in the past.

The Kurdish YPG forces are active in Syria, and like the Kurdistan Workers' Party, Turkey considers them a terrorist organization. But while the US used to openly support and arm the YPG, this is no longer the case. Moreover, the Kurdish enclaves in northern Syria are now effectively surrounded by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* group.

From this we can conclude that Turkey has reached some kind of agreement with the US on non-interference in the conflict.
Not the U.S. — if such a decision was made it could be no more than the current ad hoc cabal in Washington making decisions on various issues as various subgroups turn their attention this way and that… for the next few weeks. None of their decisions can be binding, as they have no legal authority to decide for the nation.
Or the Turkish special services, understanding the specifics of the transition period in the White House and the absence of any forceful decisions, gave the go-ahead to the militants to conduct the current offensive operation. It is worth immediately making a reservation that the militants from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* would hardly have escalated on their own.
I seem to recall that HTS has talked about having rehearsed for a yeqr for this…
However, the scale of the escalation seems to have exceeded all expectations.

And if initially the talk was about pushing Syria, as well as Russia and Iran, to a speedy resolution of the political crisis, including defining the political role of the opposition and the return of several million refugees, which was planned to be agreed upon at the next round of meetings in the “Astana format” in Qatar, then the sudden success of the militants forced Erdogan to come out of the shadows.

The timing is ideal, given Russia's involvement in the SVO in Ukraine, as well as a certain pause in Iran's activity in the region, caused by both the death of an IRGC representative in Syria and the Hezbollah leadership in Lebanon.

Given how unfavorable the situation is for the Syrian government, even if the YPG Kurds decide to support it in repelling the militants' advance, more decisive action by Turkey could follow. Seeing the Kurds' weakness, Ankara could decide to finish them off once and for all, first in Rojava (in northern Syria), and then moving on to methodically destroying other structures in Iraq and Turkey itself.

The Kurdish issue is indeed extremely important for the current Turkish leadership. It is no coincidence that Erdogan's ally and leader of the Turkish Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahceli in October called on the founder of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, Abdullah Ocalan, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment, to address parliament and announce the dissolution of the PKK. Given that parliament is a particularly sacred place for Turks, the proposal to allow a person convicted of terrorism to sit there clearly demonstrates concern about a possible Kurdish mobilization in the future. In addition, the demographic situation should be taken into account, since the Kurds have many more children than the Turks.
Which is why President Erdogan has been busily arranging as many Kurdish deaths as possible, both in Turkey and in the Kurdish territories immediately beyond Turkey’s borders.
Therefore, there are several elements in the equation - behind the interests of the Islamists trying to overthrow the government of Bashar al-Assad is Turkey with its interests in destroying the military-political structures of the Kurds. And in a broader context, we are talking about following the strategy of neo-Ottomanism and pan-Turkism.
What’s to be said? The man has dreams.
The US has so far distanced itself from active participation in resolving the Syrian problems, probably fearing to get bogged down in another conflict in the Middle East, as happened earlier in Iraq and Afghanistan.
And now Russian forces are bugging out for the same reason.

Government Corruption
FEMA packs up from North Carolina, leaving behind a whopping 19 trailers for survivors - American Thinker
[AMERICANTHINKER] Is it that hard to deliver small trailers for survivors of a monstrous hurricane
...as in blow me down!...
?

Well, to FEMA, Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier...
's emergency management agency it is.

Here are the sorry leavings:

Investigative news hound James O'Keefe said there was remarkably little done in hurricane-ravaged North Carolina, this, even after bad publicity hit the agency for its inadequate response. Since then, there has been clear evidence of political favoritism, first in Florida, and later in North Carolina. But results? They aren't about results:

Swol, an Asheville resident who seems to know what's going on, cited a raft of expensive inefficiencies:

Which is terrible, given the scale of destruction in North Carolina, and the fact that these taxpayers have paid taxes for years in order to have the peace of mind to know that if a disaster strikes, FEMA will help them. Any corporation with a record like FEMA's would rapidly be out of business. But it's business as usual with these guys. Results are secondary to their swamp dancings.

Others have noted that they're amazingly efficient when they want to be. They just need to have a soft spot for the client:

Which underlines that President Trump can't get into office soon enough -- while the winter is still raging and North Carolina's westerners are still struggling to make do. It's incredible that this is happening, an agency out of control that can't even minimally perform its most basic mission.

This is what DOGE was made for, and like President Trump, it can't sink its teeth into this one soon enough.
One hopes that after Jan 20th the FEMA folks are tried and JAILED for a long long time along with the local pols who seem to want the citizens to die for their property to belong to a lithium mining firm

Ernst Under Heat, Denies She''s Behind Campaign to Tank Hegseth''s Nomination
[BREITBART] Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) on Thursday, after a groundswell of support for Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth, denied she is behind a campaign on Capitol Hill to tank his nomination and seek the job herself.
She's lying and so is Miss Lindsey
''I don't have a campaign against Pete,'' she told RealClearPolitics's White House correspondent Philip Wegmann, adding that he deserved to have a Senate confirmation hearing.

''I just want to make sure the process is able to play out and that we're thoroughly vetting him. I do believe that Pete deserves to have a hearing. All the rumblings out there are absolutely false. My role as a senator is to make sure that we are putting to bed any rumors, any anonymous whatever,'' she claimed.

She claimed that if there were allegations against the current Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, ''we would have gone through that process as well.''

Ernst's denial comes as she and close ally Sen. Lindsey Graham
...soft-spoken senator from South Carolina, former best buddy of John Maverick McCain. Since McCain's demise, Graham has become more outspoken, more Republican and more of a supporter of President Trump. The speech he gave in support of Brett Kavanaugh was downright manly and really cheesed off the Dems...
(R-SC) expressed doubt about Hegseth, driving up speculation he would have to withdraw. Ernst and Graham also previously worked together to pressure Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) to drop his holds on promotions on generals due to the Biden Pentagon's child sacrifice abortion policy paying for troops to travel for child sacrifice abortions.

But while she has denied any campaign against Hegseth, the Federalist reported she has repeatedly called Trump, nagging for him to replace Hegseth.

And Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
close to her have been publicly promoting her to replace him.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee with Ernst, told news hounds, ''I'd start off with a very, very favorable inclination'' to confirm her, according to the Washington Examiner's Senate news hound, Ramsey Touchberry.

And Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), who also sits on the committee with Ernst, called her someone with ''independent judgment and integrity and high degree of insight—on military and foreign affair issues.'' He added, ''I think she'd have significant bipartisan support.''

Even some Republican senators, such as Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND), another member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, have floated Ernst as a possibility to replace Hegseth, later backtracking as support began to build up for him.

Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD), another Senate Armed Services Committee Republican, also at first expressed reluctance over Hegseth, but has more recently struck a positive tone.

Israel denies targeting Kamal Adwan as hospital 'completely' evacuated
Empty except for Hamas jihadis and their toys, anyway.
[GEO.TV] The Israeli military has now denied targeting or entering the Kamal Adwan hospital in the north of Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
The army says it would ''continue to operate against terror infrastructure and terrorists'' in northern Gaza, including ''adjacent to'' the hospital, according to Al Jazeera.

Moreover, the entire medical facility and shelter to thousands of the displaced has been completely evacuated by the military.

It also ordered the director of the hospital as well as everyone to evacuate and go through a checkpoint leaving the area where 70 were detained and taken to an unknown area for interrogation.

IDF says it killed Hamas officers involved in Oct. 7 glider infiltration, massacres

, including a leader who criminal masterminded the terror group’s use of paragliders to infiltrate Israel on October 7, 2023.

The military also denied allegations that Israeli forces had targeted north Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital, amid Paleostinian allegations that 29 people were killed there.

The military said Nidal al-Najjar, the commander of Hamas’s aerial forces in Gaza City, was killed in an airstrike Tuesday.

According to the IDF, al-Najjar was among the criminal masterminds behind Hamas’s aerial infiltration of Israel on October 7, 2023, when hard boyz in paragliders flew over the border into the south, part of a force that killed some 1,200 people and took 251 hostages.

During the ensuing war, al-Najjar was responsible for Hamas’s air defenses and carried out explosive-laden drone attacks against troops operating in Gaza, the IDF said.

Majdi Aqilan, a company commander and deputy commander in Hamas’s Gaza City-based Shati Battalion, was also killed in an airstrike over the past week, the military said.

During the October 7 onslaught, Aqilan was one of the commanders who led the massacre and hostage-taking at Kibbutz Nahal Oz, according to the military.

The strike also killed Mamdouh Mehna, the military said. According to the IDF, Mehna was a senior tunnel specialist in Hamas’s Gaza City Brigade, and had also participated in the massacre in Nahal Oz.

Ahmed Suwaidan, a company commander in the Shati Battalion, was also killed in the strike, the army said. Suwaidan was involved in abducting Israeli civilians and taking them to Gaza during the Hamas onslaught, according to the IDF.

The army added that the Hamas operatives were also involved in attacks on Israel and troops in Gaza throughout the war.

DOZENS SAID KILLED AT KAMAL ADWAN, IDF DENIES TARGETING HOSPITAL
The IDF denied reports it had struck or raided the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalia, saying it had been operating near the facility.

The area has been the site of an intense IDF operation aiming to stop Hamas from regrouping in northern Gaza for the past two months.

"Contrary to the reports made over the past day, the [military] did not strike the Kamal Adwan hospital or operate within it," the IDF said in a statement, adding that it would "continue to operate against terror infrastructure and terrorists" in northern Gaza, including "adjacent to" the hospital.

The statement came after the Hamas-run territory’s civil defense agency said 29 people were killed and dozens maimed on Friday by Israeli strikes around the hospital, one of north Gaza’s last functioning health centers.

Mahmud Bassal, the agency’s front man, said Israeli troops had entered the hospital, evacuated patients and arrested several Paleostinians.

A representative for the World Health Organization told news hounds that Israeli troops were first spotted outside the hospital at 4 a.m. and that the hospital was bombed despite there being "no official evacuation order." The representative said a "substantial amount" of people, including patients and staff, were still in the hospital, which remained "minimum operational."

According to Hossam Abu Safieh, the hospital’s director, "There was a series of airstrikes on the northern and western sides of the hospital, accompanied by intense and direct fire."

He added that four staff were killed and there were no surgeons left at the site.

Reports of the strikes at Kamal Adwan came just days after the World Health Organization said an emergency medical team had reached the hospital for the first time in 60 days.

Dr. Faradina Sulistiyani, a surgeon on the team, told AFP from Gaza City that all seven of her team members had left the premises on foot as the bombing went on.

Israeli forces have raided Kamal Adwan on several occasions since the start of the war. The hospital said its intensive care unit director Ahmad al-Kahlut was killed in an airstrike late last month.

Israel has said it seeks to minimize civilian fatalities and stresses that Hamas uses Gaza’s civilians as human shields, fighting from civilian areas including homes, hospitals, schools and mosques.

Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry said only 37 hospitals and clinics in the war-devastated territory remained operational but lacked essential equipment, manpower, and medical and fuel supplies.

The three main hospitals on the enclave’s northern end are barely functioning and have been under repeated attack since Israel sent tanks into Beit Lahiya and nearby Beit Hanoun and Jabalia in October, the ministry said.

Large parts of northern Gaza have been cut off from aid as the IDF operates in those areas against Hamas insurgencies. Most of the civilians there have evacuated but thousands remain under dire conditions.

Amid the operation, COGAT, the IDF body responsible for humanitarian coordination in Gaza, said it had helped transport thousands of bags of flour to Beit Hanoun.

Armenian community of Aleppo under siege after militants seize city
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Thousands of Armenians remain in militant-held Aleppo, Syria, and the Armenian authorities are ready to help evacuate them, but there is no way to ensure their exit from the city or deliver humanitarian aid. At least one member of the Armenian community has been killed in the renewed fighting.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", due to the intensification of hostilities in Syria, on November 27, the Armenian authorities withdrew a group of humanitarian demining specialists and medical workers from the republic. The Armenian humanitarian contingent of 83 people had been working in Syria since February 2019. The mission participants returned to Armenia on November 29.

The Islamist armed group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* (recognized as terrorist in Russia and banned) attacked President Bashar al-Assad's forces in Aleppo on December 1, forcing government troops to leave the city, which had been controlled by Assad's army since 2016. On December 5, the Islamists said they had launched an offensive on the city of Hama, located south of Aleppo in the direction of Damascus, Reuters reported. Hama, the fourth-largest city in the country and of key importance, is already fully controlled by the militants, as is the local military airfield - "one of the largest in Syria", which was used by government forces, Al Jazeera reports. Aleppo residents said they were experiencing a shortage of bread and fuel, and telephone communications were cut off. The UN food agency said that as a result of the latest fighting, 280,000 people were forced to flee their homes.

A discussion on the situation of the Armenian community of Aleppo and the situation after the capture of the city by Islamist militants took place on December 5 at the Yerevan Media Center. Participants in the meeting stated that leaving Aleppo is currently unsafe and the possibilities for evacuation are extremely limited, a correspondent for the "Caucasian Knot" reported, who watched the live broadcast of the discussion on the organization's YouTube channel.

According to official data, by the beginning of the war in 2011, about 100 thousand Armenians lived in Syria, of which about 60 thousand lived in Aleppo. In Damascus, the Armenian population was about 6 thousand, another 30 thousand lived in Latakia, Kessab, Qamishli, Homs, Raqqa, Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor. More than 60 thousand Armenians were forced to leave Syria because of the conflict. Today, about 30 thousand Armenians live in Syria, most of whom live in Aleppo, according to a publication on the website of the office of the Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs in Armenia.

The situation in Syria has developed so rapidly that it has become impossible to organize an evacuation, in particular from Aleppo, said the head of the repatriation department of the Office of the Chief Commissioner to the Government of Armenia, Oganes Aleksanyan.

"In the first two days, it was possible to take families out of Aleppo to Damascus or Latakia via secondary roads, but not via the main highway, which is controlled by the rebels. Now, however, it is practically impossible to leave the city; all exits are controlled by the Islamists," he said during the discussion.

A government spokesman reported a casualty among the Armenian population of Syria. "In the first days, a local Armenian was killed by a sniper on the road from Aleppo," Aleksanyan said.

On November 30, 66-year-old Aleppo doctor Yervand Arslanian was fatally wounded by a sniper on the road from Aleppo to Selemia, the Syrian Armenian newspaper Gandzasar reported. "The wounded man was taken to a hospital in Hama, where he died," the newspaper writes.

According to various estimates, between 10,000 and 12,000 Armenians live in Aleppo, the head of the department added. "After the start of the Syrian conflict, most of them left the country, but there were also those who did not want to leave their homes. It is possible that some would have left, in particular Aleppo, if not for the rapid development of events, but the majority, in my opinion, will not leave the city," he suggested.

Aleksanyan also noted that the office maintains contact with the community in Aleppo. "Although the city is controlled by militants, this time they have chosen a strategy of good neighborliness in communicating with the townspeople, and do not resort to atrocities. Food is brought from Idlib ( controlled by Islamists since 2017, - note from "Caucasian Knot" ), electricity is supplied. After the start of the war in Aleppo, there were rolling blackouts, but after the capture of the city, the intervals between power supplies increased," he explained.

With the assistance of the Cilicia Catholicosate of the Armenian Apostolic Church, assistance has been established for the Armenian community of Aleppo, since after the capture of the city, goods have become several times more expensive. "It is virtually impossible to send humanitarian aid, the airport is controlled by the rebels. If the situation escalates, it is necessary to look for opportunities, since we will have to deal with the rebels, not the Syrian government. In any case, we must be ready to organize the evacuation of Syrian Armenians. There is such experience - evacuation from Ukraine, Israel and Lebanon after the explosion in the harbor," Aleksanyan emphasized.

Most Syrian Armenians have dual citizenship, noted Sergey Kazinyan, a human rights expert at the Center for European Studies at Yerevan State University. "Having a second Armenian citizenship obliges Armenia to provide protection to them. Unlike people with foreign citizenship, those who have Armenian passports cannot receive refugee status or apply for asylum. But in the case of mass migration, as was the case after the ethnic cleansing in Artsakh (the self-name of Nagorno-Karabakh), the Armenian authorities may decide to provide temporary protection. In this case, group status is equivalent to refugee status," he said during the discussion.

The Armenian authorities have experience in assisting foreign communities with the support of the international community, the human rights expert added. "In 2016, the Armenian government developed a program to assist Syrian Armenians. They met the refugee status, as they fled the conflict zone due to massive human rights violations. This factor made it possible to organize assistance," Kazinyan explained.

Mass emigration is a serious challenge for Armenia, given the limited opportunities, so Armenia is forced to seek international assistance, including from the UN, he added. "The UN has been providing assistance since the start of the Syrian war in 2011," the human rights expert emphasized.

Local residents avoid contact with the rebels, Aleppo resident Maria Gabrielyan told Radio Liberty on December 4. According to her, Aleppo is controlled by Islamists.

"Armenians of Aleppo have started going to work, opening shops for a few hours. There is a problem with bread in the city, but the community is not left without bread. All those in need are given bread at the Aram Manukyan Center. They also promised financial assistance to all Armenian families. After the capture of the city, goods have almost tripled in price," said a resident of Aleppo, whose words were translated by a correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot."

Schools and kindergartens are still closed, and the rebels have announced plans to change the curriculum, Gabrielyan noted. "It is difficult to say whether government forces will be able to retake the city. The townspeople live in fear of uncertainty. Leaving the city is risky and unsafe. Several families have managed to leave the city," said an Aleppo resident. She also added that the body of the slain 66-year-old doctor has still not been transported to Aleppo for burial.

The Armenian Embassy in Syria stated on December 3 that there was no possibility of organizing the evacuation of Armenians from the country, but the Foreign Ministry was closely monitoring the situation and would consider all options if an evacuation was possible. At the same time, the Consul General of Armenia in Aleppo left for Damascus for a meeting at the Syrian Foreign Ministry before the start of active hostilities and was unable to return, the Armenpress news agency reported.

Israel says struck Hezbollah 'smuggling route' on Syria-Lebanon border

Israel’s army said Friday it had conducted air strikes on Hezbollah "weapon-smuggling routes" on the Syria-Leb

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
border, just over a week into a fragile ceasefire in Lebanon.

The Israeli air force "conducted strikes on weapon-smuggling routes and terror infrastructure sites located near the Syrian regime’s crossings at the Syrian-Lebanese border", the military said in a statement that included a map identifying the crossing as al-Arida.

Lebanon’s National News Agency said the Arclight airstrike

on the al-Arida border crossing in the country’s north caused heavy material damage and cut the road.

The Israeli army also said it destroyed Hezbollah weapons in south Lebanon.

Over the past two months, Israel’s airstrikes closed several border crossings between Lebanon and Syria. The al-Arida border crossing was attacked in late November and reopened days later before it was struck again.

Clyburn: ''There''s a Danger'' of Jim Crow ''Happening Again''
[BREITBART] Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) claimed Friday on CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
's ''Inside Politics'' that the country was in danger of Jim Crow laws returning because voters did not prioritize democracy.

Host Dana Bash said, ''I want to switch gears to something that former President Obama said. He made I believe his first comments since the election. He said this last night. I want you to take a listen.''

Thursday in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
, former President Barack Obama
If you like your coverage you can keep it...
said, ''Talk of bridging our differences when the country and the world seemed so bitterly divided felt like an academic exercise, it felt farfetched, even naive. Especially since as far as they were concerned, the election proved that democracies pretty far down on people's priority list.''

Bash said, ''What do you make of the former president's comments?''

Clyburn said, ''Well, I think they ring true. Not that they should be true but they have demonstrated that that is the case. I you know, you know me very well, and you know that I spent a lot of time studying history. I've talked about this election, even going in the run up to the election from a historical standpoint. I seem to remember, as we were celebrating the 100th anniversary of this country's existence, we had a presidential election in 1876 and you see what happened to democracy in that election, it led to Jim Crow. I'm the ninth African-American to serve in Congress from South Carolina the problem is that 95 years between number eight and number nine because democracy was driven so far down on people's lists back in 1876. There's a danger of that happening again.''

Can Jim Crow come back?

Some see it is already here, just in a different version and how
it is practiced:

* Political manipulation and suppression,
* Voter Plantations,
* Welfare,
* SNAP/FOOD STAMPS,
and Federal/State Reg's and $$$$ that promotes Fatherless families.

Many see these Government processes as actually geared to promote a separate sub-culture. Instead of mainstreaming the Black community into the usual American Melting Pot tradition and forming as United America.

The DC Swamp has for 50+ years has rewarded Black Community Influencers, used $$$$ and reg's all to accomplish a modernized version of segregation, (Race Pimping) and played the Black Community for its votes. (Race Baiting)

Obama echo. Pardon me, if your definition of democracy is "The Party"* then you have a very warped sense of what happened this November if it was not in fact democracy.

KJP lies about Biden lying about Hunter pardon
[TOWNHALL] White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre held a briefing for the first time Friday since President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
issued a broad and sweeping pardon for his son, Hunter Biden, Sunday night. After the pardon was issued, which covers any potential crimes committed between 2014-2024, Biden bolted to Africa and refused to answer questions from news hounds.

"Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department's decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently," Biden released in a statement, falsely claiming Hunter was targeted for political reasons.
