Barnard College expels 2 students who disrupted Israel history class last month
[IsraelTimes] Anti-Israel student coalition at US institution shares footage of activists interrupting class, saying course ‘legitimizes the zionist entity’; Hillel president praises expulsion. Columbia University Apartheid Divest said in a statement that the punishment “marks a serious escalation in the crackdown against students advocating for divestment against the Israeli war machine.”

NYC university system’s faculty union backtracks after Israel boycott vote
[IsraelTimes] CUNY’s Professional Staff Congress, representing 30,000 members, reverses support for divisive divestment measure due to ‘irregularities’ in voting.

The union, the Professional Staff Congress (PSC), has been a battleground for anti-Israel activism for years, and some Jewish professors have long accused the group of bias and discrimination.

The vote to boycott Israel was divisive within the union, and drew criticism from the CUNY administration, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and two groups representing Jewish and pro-Israel faculty in the CUNY system.

The union leadership opposed the boycott, and the vote was controversial and close, so the leadership checked whether alternates had voted when they were not allowed to and found the irregularities, Philipp said.

Passing an Israel boycott vote could have hurt the union in negotiations with city and state officials who oppose such a measure.

George Washington University Retaliated Against Jewish Students Who Lodged Anti-Semitism Complaint, Federal Probe Finds
[FreeBeacon] A federal civil rights investigation uncovered evidence that the George Washington University faculty retaliated against Jewish students based on "shared ancestry-related advocacy" by placing them in a remediation program after the students lodged an anti-Semitism complaint against an anti-Israel professor. The Department of Education also ordered the school to conduct a review of former GW psychology professor Lara Sheehi’s social media posts—which included calls to "destroy Zionism" and described Israelis as "genocidal fucks"—to determine if the comments created a "hostile environment" for Jewish and Israeli students.

The Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights raised the concerns in a confidential settlement letter with GW on Jan. 16, which followed a two-year investigation, the Washington Free Beacon has learned. As part of the settlement, GW agreed to "review and revise" its anti-discrimination policies and train professors against "unlawful discrimination." The school also agreed to expunge any disciplinary action from the students’ records.

A group of Jewish and Israeli psychology students at GW filed the civil rights complaint in 2023, saying the school failed to protect them after they were "singled out for repeated and persistent harassment" by anti-Israel professors and classmates in the program and later subjected to retaliation when they complained. StandWithUs, the group that brought the complaint on behalf of the students, told the Free Beacon that the settlement letter was a positive step.

Northwestern University Mandatory Anti-Discrimination Training Pushes Unverified CAIR Data
[FreeBeacon] 'This omission is not an oversight; it reflects Northwestern's ongoing pattern of sidelining Jewish concerns in response to activist pressure,' anti-Semitism expert says.

All Northwestern students, faculty, and staff across all departments, must watch the nearly 20-minute video training, obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, and is part of a 3-hour online course created by the university.

"Reports from Northwestern University faculty and staff suggest that its so-called anti-discrimination training does the opposite of what it claims," Coalition Against Antisemitism at Northwestern president Michael Teplitsky told the Free Beacon. "Instead of fostering genuine inclusion, it selectively elevates certain perspectives while excluding Israeli students from the conversation—despite these students facing some of the most severe harassment and intimidation on U.S. college campuses."

US federal task force to visit 10 campuses to tackle antisemitism
[IsraelTimes] The US Department of Justice says an antisemitism task force will visit 10 university campuses that saw antisemitic incidents since October 2023.

The visits stem from US President Donald Trump’s executive order to combat antisemitism that was issued last month, part of a wider effort by the new administration to pressure universities to crack down on anti-Jewish discrimination.

The head of the task force, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Leo Terrell, says the group will meet with university leaders, students, staff and law enforcement.

“The task force’s mandate is to bring the full force of the federal government to bear in our effort to eradicate antisemitism, particularly in schools,” Terrell says in a statement.

The universities that will be visited are:
Columbia University
George Washington University
Harvard University
Johns Hopkins University
New York University
Northwestern University
The University of California, Los Angeles
The University of California, Berkeley
The University of Minnesota
The University of Southern California

The visits are announced after anti-Israel protesters at Barnard College, an affiliate of New York’s Columbia University, invaded a campus building on Wednesday, injuring a university employee. The protest was widely condemned by state and national lawmakers.

NY governor orders Hunter College to remove Palestinian studies job listing
[IsraelTimes] New York’s governor has ordered a state school to remove a job posting for a Palestinian studies teaching position this week, saying she wanted to ensure “antisemitic theories” would not be taught.

The job posting at Hunter College had called for a historian “who takes a critical lens to issues pertaining to Palestine including but not limited to settler-colonialism, genocide, human rights, apartheid, migration, climate and infrastructure devastation, health, race, gender, and sexuality,” according to screenshots published by the New York Post, which first reported the job announcement.

Following the coverage, Governor Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, ordered the City University of New York school to remove the posting “and conduct a thorough review of the position to ensure that antisemitic theories are not promoted in the classroom,” her office says in a statement.

The CUNY Board of Trustees agreed, and university officials have since removed the posting for a “Palestinian Studies Cluster Hire,” which was marked as expired on Friday.

“We find this language divisive, polarizing and inappropriate and strongly agree with Governor Hochul’s direction to remove this posting,” say Chairperson William C. Thompson Jr. and Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez, adding they will work “to tackle antisemitism on our campuses and combat hate in all of its forms.”

The governor’s statement adds that no class is being canceled.

Rutgers lecturer, UNRWA official join Hamas-affiliated org webinar
[Jpost] Hamid Abdeljaber, a lecturer for Middle Eastern Studies and former press officer for the UN, spoke in the webinar titled “UNRWA after the ban law and the arrival of Trump,” which aired on the Facebook page of the European Palestinian Information Center. UNRWA media adviser Adnan Abu Hasna also spoke at the livestream event, claiming, “At the end of the day, we at UNRWA were one of the victims of what happened on October 7,” Jewish Insider quoted.

Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-New Jersey) reacted to Abdeljaber’s participation in the webinar, “It’s outrageous that yet another Rutgers faculty member, Hamid Abdeljaber, spoke on an antisemitic webinar tied to Hamas, a US-designated foreign terrorist organization. Not only did Hamid defend Hamas as part of a so-called ‘resistance,’ but he also celebrated its actions while promoting harmful antisemitic tropes and false narratives," he said in a released statement.

He continued, "This is just the latest example of rampant antisemitism on campus that threatens the safety of Jewish students. It follows a Faculty Union December 2024 vote to approve an antisemitic BDS resolution. Last year, a university-funded center openly promoted antisemitic, anti-Israel propaganda. Jewish students at Rutgers deserve to feel safe and welcome on campus and in the classroom."

Britain
BBC may be investigated by police over Hamas involvement in Gaza documentary
[IsraelTimes] The BBC may be investigated by British counterterrorism police over whether it paid money to terror group Hamas, after it was revealed that the narrator for a recent documentary about the war in Gaza was the son of a Hamas minister.

“Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are currently assessing whether any police action is required in relation to this matter,” a spokesman tells The Times.

After pulling the documentary from streaming and acknowledging “serious flaws” in its conduct, the BBC has admitted that some money was paid to the boy’s family. According to The Times, this is thought to be a few hundred pounds.
Check your records, guys, and give us an actual number. You do keep proper accounts, don’t you?
The network is now conducting a review of the case and the behavior of production company Hoyo Films. The British government has also demanded accountability from the broadcaster.

Rubio says he’s approved expediting delivery of $4 billion in US military aid to Israel
[IsraelTimes] US Secretary of State Marco Rubio

says he has signed a declaration to expedite the delivery of approximately $4 billion in military assistance to Israel.

The Trump administration, which took office on January 20, has approved nearly $12 billion in major foreign military sales to Israel, Rubio says in a statement, adding that it “will continue to use all available tools to fulfill America’s longstanding commitment to Israel’s security, including means to counter security threats.”

Hamas releases video Saturday of hostage pleading to be freed as his brother is separated from him
More evilness from the local Big Evil — no need to be Al Qaeda or ISIS to plumb those depths. How soon can they be wiped out and their supporters driven from the neighbourhood?
[IsraelTimes] Clip shows Eitan Horn expressing distress he’ll be left behind, hugging his brother Iair before the latter’s release from Gaza; PM’s office slams terror group’s ‘brutal propaganda’

The video begins with five hostages sitting on the floor — the Horn brothers, Sagui Dekel-Chen, and two more hostages whose faces Hamas
..one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
blurred in the video — sitting in a room, preparing to eat. The father of hostage Nimrod Cohen later identified his son as one of the other hostages by the tattoo on his forearm.

"He got the tattoo a few days before he was kidnapped," Yehuda Cohen told the Ynet news site. "I’m disappointed that we don’t see Nimrod’s face because I haven’t seen him in a year and a half, but these are Hamas’s games."

The hostages embrace each other in the video ahead of the release of Iair and Dekel-Chen, which Eitan says in the video would be taking place the next day. Iair Horn, Dekel-Chen, and Sasha Troufanov were released on February 15 as part of the first phase of the deal.

The camera then pans to the face of a distraught Eitan, seemingly overwhelmed about being left behind.

"I am very happy that my brother will be released tomorrow, but it is not logical in any way that families are being separated," Eitan says, his voice cracking.

"Get everyone out and stop [separating] families, and do not destroy our lives anymore," he adds, before crying into the shoulder of his older brother Iair.

"Tell mom, dad and everyone to continue with the demonstrations [for a hostages deal], that they shouldn’t stop and that the government should sign already onto the second and third phases of the deal to return all of us home," Eitan tells his brother Iair. "Do everything you can,"

"You are now forcing me to leave my little brother here to die," Iair says into the camera, with his arm still around Eitan’s shoulder.

Eitan expresses his disbelief and disgust that Israel’s government is not interested in moving forward with the deal’s second phase. "Have you gone crazy?" he asks. "My brother is leaving, and I’m staying here."

Eitan says that sometimes he receives food and sometimes he doesn’t; sometimes he’s okay and sometimes he’s not. "But here, I’m not okay," he says, pointing to his head, apparently referring to the psychological effects of captivity.

Eitan then addresses Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly and pleads with him to sign onto the second phase of the hostage deal.

Weekly pro-hostage deal and anti-government rallies drew ‘thousands’ of Israelis Saturday night
[IsraelTimes] Weekly pro-hostage deal and anti-government rallies drew thousands of Israelis Saturday night, as the 42nd and final day of the Gaza ceasefire deal’s first phase came to a close.
Notice there isn’t even a hint of a crowd estimate. Interestingly, the photos at the link are carefully cropped to give no hint as well.
Meanwhile,
...back at the game, the Babe headed for second base. He almost made it. Then Sheila slapped him....
the families of Shlomo Mantzur and Itzik Elgarat — two of four slain captives returned to Israel early Thursday in the final hostage release of the first phase — announced their loved ones would be buried in closed ceremonies on Sunday and Monday, respectively. According to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, Mantzur was murdered on October 7, 2023, while the other three were murdered in captivity.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum said that "following the return, to eternal rest, of Ohad Yahalomi, Itzik Elgarat, Shlomo Mantzur and Tsahi Idan... we will hold a central rally at Hostages Square to demand the return of all 59 captives until day 50 of the agreement," a week from Sunday on March 9.

"The window of opportunity is now," said the forum. "If a deal does not materialize in the coming days, we’ll be sentencing the hostages to death and lose the ability to locate and retrieve the slain captives."

The rally at Hostages Square included a video message from Sasha Troufanov, who was released from captivity in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
on February 15. Troufanov told that he "can’t process the fact that I’m here and there are still people who haven’t returned."

"Captivity is an insane mind game — you’re always faced with the thought that ’if I don’t get out in this deal, there probably won’t be another deal I’ll get out in,’" said Troufanov.

Referring to ubiquitous posters featuring photographs of hostages, Troufanov said, "The fact that they’re here next to me, but they’re not — they’re just pictures — is something that is difficult for me, and I’m sure it’s more difficult for their families."

Now that he’s on the side of those yearning for their loved ones’ release, "Suddenly, I understand what it’s like, and it’s overwhelming for me," he said.

"Isn’t it time to release the people there?" he asked. "The people who pray so hard to come home?"

"When I talk about returning the hostages, I mean all of them — living and dead," he said. "Every family wants closure."

He asked the the public, "don’t let feelings of Dire Revenge, anger and rage get the upper hand over values of unity, fraternity and sanctity of human life.

Troufanov thanked "each and every one of the people who have supported, helped and wised for my return home — I’m here thanks to you."

The rally also featured speeches from Michel Illouz, father of 26-year-old Guy Illouz, who died in Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
captivity after being kidnapped from the Re’im-area Nova music festival; Liron Oberlander, cousin of hostage Rom Braslavski, who worked as a guard at the rave; Roni Adar, sister of slain captive Tamir Adar, who was killed in battle against invading bandidos gunnies and snatched to Gaza; and Mor Korngold, brother of Tal Shoham, one of six living captives Hamas released last Saturday.

Also speaking was Ilan Dalal, father of Guy Gilboa Dalal, who was kidnapped at the Nova rave. The families of Dalal and fellow hostage Evyatar David received a sign of life last from their loved ones following last Saturday’s hostage release, when Hamas published a video of them watching the other captives be freed.

Ilan Dalal later told Channel 12 the video was "the best sign of life I could ask for, but on the other hand, there’s nothing more cruel."

"It’s not surprising because it’s Hamas, but it’s a new level of torture," he said.

In tandem with the demonstration at Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square, smaller rallies were held across the country, including in Jerusalem, Ness Ziona, Haifa, Hadera and other locales such as the Sha’ar Hanegev Junction in the south.

In Tel Aviv, a separate, anti-government rally was held on Begin Road, in front of the IDF headquarters, where hundreds of protesters marched to from a demonstration at Habima Square.. The rally usually draws around 1,000 people, including several hostage families and opposition politicians, and regularly features philippics by Einav Zangauker, mother of hostage Matan Zangauker, who on Saturday denounced the "sadistic government."

On Friday, The New York Times

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

published a wide-ranging profile piece on Zanguaker, referring to the "anguished mother" from Sderot as "Netanyahu’s fiercest foe" and "an unlikely enemy of Israeli government."

Another harsh critic of Netanyahu who has regularly spoken at the Begin Road rallies at Dani Elgarat, the younger brother of slain hostage Itzik Elgarat. Following the return of Itzik’s body, Dani Elgarat called for a public revolt against the government.

Speaking at Saturday’s demonstration, Dani Elgarat accused Netanyahu of abandoning his older brother.

Affiliated anti-government groups have said they would commence a days-long civil disobedience campaign in Jerusalem on Sunday to demand Israel "rise to phase two" of the hostage deal.

The deal’s first phase saw Hamas release 33 women, children, civilian men over 50, and those deemed "humanitarian cases" in return for some 1,900 Paleostinian prisoners. Twenty-five of the hostages were freed alive, and eight were deceased. Hamas also released five Thai nationals not included in the deal.

Netanyahu’s right-wing flank has threatened to topple the government should Israel proceed to the second phase, which would see Hamas release remaining living hostages and require Israel to withdraw from Gaza.

Talks for the second phase began in Cairo on Thursday, after Netanyahu refused to begin them on February 3 — day 16 of the first phase — as stipulated by the agreement. On Saturday, talks appeared at an impasse, with the Israeli negotiators having gone home and Hamas saying it rejected an Israeli offer to extend the first phase rather than proceed to the second.

Romi Gonen, who returned in the first hostage release of the current phase, wrote on Instagram Saturday that it was the "the first Shabbat since I came back that none of our brothers and sisters returned."

"There’s a tightness in my throat," she wrote. "Fifty-nine hostages are still held captive and waiting to return home."

"I was there, I know — they have no time," said Gonen, adding that the deal and releases "must not stop."

"It’s sad that even after hostages have come out and the entire world saw their state, we still need to fight for the obvious. Continue to fight, continue to pray — in the end, good always wins."

The families forum announced on Saturday that Shlomo Mantzur, 86, would be laid to rest Sunday in his home community of Kibbutz Kissufim.

According to the announcement, the family invited Israelis to stand along the road with flags to accompany Mantzur. The funeral procession will depart from Rishon Lezion at 9:45 a.m. and head south to Kissufim, according to the statement.

The procession is slated to pass at Yad Mordechai Junction around 10:45 a.m., at Sa’ad Junction at 11 a.m., and Gama Junction and Kissufim Junction around 11:15 a.m. The funeral will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Kibbutz Kissufim.

"The public is invited to the eulogy ceremony and the procession to the cemetery," the statement said. "At the family’s request, the funeral will be closed to the media."

The family of Itzik Elgarat, 68 when kidnapped, said his funeral would be held Monday at 2 p.m. outside his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz, from which he was kidnapped on Oct. 7, 2023..

The service will be open to the public and media, but the burial will be private, according to the announcement.

Elgarat and Mantzur were each snatched from their homes on October 7, 2023, when thousands of Hamas-led bandidos gunnies stormed southern Israel to kill some 1,200 people and take 251 hostages, sparking the war in Gaza.

Terror groups in the Gaza Strip are holding 59 hostages, including 58 of the 251 kidnapped by Hamas-led bandidos gunnies on October 7, 2023. They include the bodies of at least 35 confirmed dead by the IDF.

Israel cuts off Gaza aid to pressure Hamas to accept new cease-fire proposal
[NY Post] Well, they were already fasting, so...
Israel halted humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip on Sunday and warned Hamas there would be “additional consequences” after the cease-fire deal expired — a move the terror organization claimed was an attempt at “cheap extortion.”

Hamas rejected an Israeli proposal to extend the ceasefire’s first stage, which ended Saturday.

Meanwhile, Egypt said Sunday his country will present plan to rebuild Gaza — and let Palestinians stay on the strip — at an emergency Arab summit March 4, according to the Times of Israel.

The proposal comes as Arab countries try to counter Trump’s controversial plan to uproot Palestinians and send them out of Gaza so the United States can control it.

Also on Sunday, Israeli official told the Associated Press that the country coordinated with the Trump administration to end aid shipments to the Palestinian enclave along the Mediterranean.

In response, Hamas called Israel’s strong-arm tactics “cheap extortion, a war crime and a blatant attack” on the truce,” which began Jan. 19 after more than a year of talks.

Despite the squabble, neither side declared the fragile armistice dead in the water.

A proposal to extend the cease-fire — which Israel said came from Steve Witkoff, Trump’s Mideast envoy — would keep the truce in place through the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and the Jewish Passover holiday, which ends April 20.

Hamas would release half its remaining hostages on the first day, and would cut the rest loose after the two sides reached a permanent ceasefire, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said.

“We fulfilled all our commitments (under Phase 1) until the very last day, which was yesterday,” Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said at a press conference.

“Our position is that during negotiations, hostages should be released.”

Hamas, for its part, quickly warned that any attempt to cancel the ceasefire would lead to “humanitarian consequences” for those still in its care.
Monsters being monstrous. There needs to be harsh consequences for that.
The only way to free them, the group said, was through extending the current deal — which did not include a timeline for release.

Hamas has said it would free all the hostages at once during a second phase, but would also demand the release of Palestinian prisoners, a permanent ceasefire and an Israeli pullout.

Neither Hamas nor Egypt would accept a proposal to let the captives go if Israel doesn’t agree to end the war, an Egyptian official said.

Mediators are still trying to resolve the argument, the official added.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said that Arab nations are working to agreed on a plan for rebuilding Gaza after the war ends.

“We will hold intensive talks with major donor countries once the plan is adopted at the upcoming Arab summit,” Abdelatty said at a press conference, the outlet reported.

Trump supporters have been anxiously awaiting the moment when those seedy documents would finally see the light of day. The Trump administration vowed transparency, assuring the public the files would be released for everyone to see.

Here’s what we know: The FBI was ordered to deliver the Epstein files to AG Pam Bondi. They sent over about 200 pages. But after those documents were handed out to right-wing influencers, it became clear something was off. The so-called bombshell was nothing more than recycled data—flight logs, phone numbers and information that had already been floating around for years. No shock. No awe. No smoking gun.

Now is the time for some clear-headed thinking. If Epstein was truly at the center of a high-level blackmail ring, as many suspect, there should be far more than just flight logs and an old Rolodex.

And that theory got a boost. A whistleblower has come forward, claiming that the SDNY is sitting on thousands of Epstein-related files—recordings, evidence, names—and deliberately withheld them. So, once again, the Swamp pulled yet another stunt, lying to the Trump admin and the American people to protect itself.

But as Natalie Winters from War Room points out, it’s not just the shadowy Deep State—the GOP’s hands are dirty, too.

There’s plenty of blame to go around on this one.

AG Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel are in full damage control mode, trying to figure out what went wrong. Bondi recently appeared on Mark Levin’s Fox News show to give an update, and according to her, the plot has thickened. She now has more evidence on her desk backing up what we already reported—SDNY is sitting on "thousands of Epstein docs" that were never turned over, despite her direct request for everything. Bondi says she’s reviewing the information and vows to track down exactly who withheld the documents—and make sure they’re fired.

Pam says that when she finds out who, at the FBI, withheld documents they will no longer be working for us . Really ? That’s all ? How about charging them for the crimes they committed and putting them before a Judge . People have to start going to prison."

"Arrests have to happen."

"Then why did she go on Hannity and say she was going to release the list if she didn’t have it? I don’t trust her"

"I find it frustrating she still has not reviewed the files."

"The Washington two-step as always. ’I wrote them a letter.’ "

"Why do I feel like she’s trying to sell me Girl Scout cookies?"

"Her story isn’t adding up"

"All of this is cute : but the main story here is that the AG gave NY a deadline to return the documents yesterday and as of today: NY’s answer is GO FUCK YOURSELF This AG is not gonna be what we expected This is Jeff Sessions all over again Imagine if a democrat AG had been stonewalled EveryBody in NY would be already in Jail by now"

Clarice Feldman: Zelensky’s Terrible, Horrible, Very Bad, No Good Day
By Clarice Feldman

It was an eventful week, with the SDNY FBI office apparently defying Attorney General Pam Bondi’s demand that it turn over all its Epstein files to her. Newly confirmed FBI director Kash Patel headed over there to search the premises and interview staff to find out where they are or even if they still exist. The week ended with a blowup of what was supposed to be the signing of an agreement between the Ukraine and the U.S., a preliminary step for opening negotiations with Russia to end the war. How you view the consequences of the blowup seems like an inkblot test: If you see the U.S. abandoning a faithful ally, you probably are a Democrat. If you see Volodymyr Zelensky as an arrogant grifter who overplayed his hand, you probably aren’t.

Luckily the entire meeting is available on video so you can see for yourself the context in which the last few minutes occurred. Those few minutes being the only thing most viewers saw.

Not without basis, President Trump believes that China, not Russia, is a bigger threat to this country and disengaging Russia from this fight will further our chances of drawing Putin away from alliances with China. Not without reason, the President believes the war is a meat grinder, an ongoing stalemate which could well lead to World War III if Ukraine is admitted to NATO and more weaponry and manpower from elsewhere is poured into the conflict. Not without reason, the President thinks both Russia and Ukraine have suffered substantial human and economic losses which will only continue unless both sides make some concessions and none of the suggested concessions he has hinted at supporting jeopardize either country’s vital interests. Not without reason, the President wants to know to what use Ukraine put all the billions of dollars we gave them to defend itself from Russia.

#1  Feldman's conclusion:
Here’s my take: A clear-eyed, masterful negotiator looked at the field, came up with what he believes is the best available deal for his client (us) and the world and a posturing midget egged on by arrogant armchair warriors failed to grab it. Instead, Zelensky used this opportunity to insult his strongest benefactor and seems stunned to learn that was a stupid move. If this administration had a coat of arms, it would be encircled by a motto reading “FAFO.”

Pentagon Purge Resumes: 3-Star Defense Health Commander Forced Into Retirement
[ZeroHedge] A week after the Trump administration fired the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and five more senior Pentagon officers, another head rolled on Friday as the three-star commander of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) retired -- with sources telling Reuters that retirement was forced on her.

As DHA commander, US Army Lt. Gen. Telita Crosland oversaw a vast medical system serving more than 9.5 million service members, retirees and family members around the world via more than 700 hospitals and clinics with a staff of more than 130,000 service members, civilian employees and contractors.

News of her sudden retirement broke Friday morning, with acting Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs Stephen Ferrara notifying DHA service members and civilian employees. In an email obtained by ZeroHedge, he wrote:

"This morning, Army Lieutenant General (LTG) Dr. Telita Crosland, the fourth Director of the Defense Health Agency (DHA), is beginning her retirement. I want to thank LTG Crosland for her dedication to the nation, to the Military Health System, and to Army Medicine for the past 32 years. I have designated Dr. David Smith, the Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, as the Acting Director of the DHA while the Department conducts the normal nomination process."

On Friday evening, Reuters was first to confirm universal suspicions that Crosland's sudden retirement wasn't her idea, with both a current and former official saying she was ordered to retire. The officials, spoke to the news agency on condition of anonymity, said she was not given a reason for being pushed out of the military after a career spanning more than 30 years. A West Point graduate who started her Army service as a Medical Corps officer in 1993, Crosland was given the DHA command after serving as the Army's Deputy Surgeon General.

Crosland's forced resignation capped a week of momentous moves by the Trump administration vis-a-vis the Pentagon.

  • Last Friday brought an extraordinary mass-firing that took out the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff USAF Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., Chief of Naval Operations Adm Lisa Franchetti, Air Force Vice Chief of Staff James Slife, and the judge advocates general of the Army, Navy and Air Force.

  • Wednesday gave us a court filing in which the Department of Defense declared that it's about to initiate a fast-paced program to ferret out transgender military members and discharge them from the military

Elon Asked What Govt Workers Did... NSA Overshared
[ZeroHedge] Again, it’s great to see the people responsible for some of the worst violations of public trust in America being fired.

But it also just shows how deep the rot goes.

The SEC, FDIC, and NSA have each had their own sex scandals revealed, while failing at their critical missions.

It’s been about one month that DOGE has been rough-auditing some agencies of the US government, which has already revealed absurd fraud and waste at agencies such as USAID and the Department of Education.

But is anyone seriously naive enough to believe it stops there?

This problem is pervasive, and needs to be rooted out if America has any chance of ushering in a New Golden Age.

#2  But audits and firings have to be done broadly to gain control of the bureaucracy. See AG Bondi’s release of the Epstein Files for what happens when control is not gained.

SWAT raids and perp walks are the next step, once there is room to operate. Not to mention that DOGE only has 18-24 months to get audits done, while the Trump hires will continue the work beyond that.

National group says about 700,000 ICE arrest warrants nationwide, Illinois cops can’t help
[JustTheNews] Law enforcement being put in harm's way with Illinois’ migrant sanctuary policies, the Illinois Sheriffs Association says.

State and local law enforcement are being put in harm's way with Illinois’ migrant sanctuary policies, the Illinois Sheriffs Association says.

Association Executive Director Jim Kaitschuk said the National Sheriffs Association put out a note to their state partners that there are 700,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement administrative arrest warrants that are active. But, that doesn’t matter in Illinois.

“Illinois law enforcement is precluded and prohibited from participating in any activity that is solely related to civil enforcement,” Kaitschuk told The Center Square.

Illinois law, through the TRUST Act and The Way Forward Act, prohibits state and local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration officials if a civil detention order is the only thing ICE has against someone.

While Kaitschuk said they can cooperate when there are criminal orders, law enforcement not being able to cooperate with civil warrants can still cause security concerns.

“Unfortunately things do go wrong, right, and then we’re in a situation where you may not know anything about what’s occurring,” Kaitschuk said. “So, we’re kind of blind in those cases.”

Daily immigration arrests nationwide haven’t been comprehensively published, but some estimates are more than 21,000 immigration detentions across the country since Jan. 20, when President Donald Trump took office.

Last week, state Sen. Omar Aquino, D-Chicago, told a group of immigration advocates that Illinois will stand strong.

“You are not going to come into our house and just try to take people and separate families in this state,” Aquino said. “People have rights. They are human rights.”

Illinois law also limits ICE from using local county detention facilities. Kaitschuk said the state’s sanctuary policies prohibit police from even knowing whether they have a suspected illegal immigrant in their jail.

“And [ICE] they’re having to go to people’s houses and at the point in time, the problem then is that you may be subjecting people then that weren’t involved in any other criminal activity other than being here … not legally and open them up to being subjected to ICE at that point in time in that residence, as opposed to if they were at the jail, where they wouldn’t have been,” Kaitschuk said.

Illinois and Chicago officials are on the other side of the U.S. Department of Justice in litigation over migrant sanctuary policies. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is due in front of the U.S. House Oversight Committee Wednesday to discuss the city’s migrant sanctuary policies.

Pete Hegseth deploys 3,000 troops and 20 combat vehicles to 'seal the border' with Mexico
Forming up to go after the narco gang, possibly as the anvil to whatever hammering is planned?
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The United States will deploy nearly 3,000 additional troops to its border with Mexico, bringing the total number of active-duty personnel there to around 9,000, the US military said on Saturday.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered elements of a Stryker brigade combat team and a general support aviation battalion for the mission, the Pentagon said.

The forces will arrive along the nearly 2,000-mile border in the coming weeks.

Border security is a key priority for President Donald Trump, who declared a national emergency at the US frontier with Mexico on his first day in office.

The new troops will 'reinforce and expand current border security operations to seal the border and protect the territorial integrity of the United States,' the Pentagon said.

The Stryker unit 'will not conduct or be involved in interdiction or deportation operations,' it said, but rather will assist in detection and monitoring, administrative duties and transportation and engineering support, among other tasks.

The Strykers are medium-armored wheeled personnel carriers carrying up to 11 soldiers and typically equipped with a machine gun or grenade launcher. They have been used in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan reports The Washington Post.

The vehicles will likely be moved to the border by rail and truck and will initially be sent to Arizona.

Troops from the aviation unit will meanwhile 'assist in the movement of personnel, equipment, and supplies; and provide aerial medical evacuation capabilities,' NORTHCOM explained.

'These deployments will bring additional agility and capability to further efforts to stop the flow of illegal migrancy and drugs at the southern border,' its commander, General Gregory Guillot said.

The deployment is said to have been planned since January.

'Approximately 2,400 soldiers from elements of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT), 4th Infantry Division in Colorado' will be sent to the border, along with 'approximately 500 soldiers from the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade,' US Northern Command (NORTHCOM) said in a statement.

The 9,000 troops at the southern border, include 4,200 deployed under federal orders and about 5,000 National Guard troops under the control of governors.

President Trump is determined to expand the military's role in his effort to shut down the border and send detained migrants back to their home countries.

The administration launched what it cast as a major effort to combat illegal migration that has included immigration raids, arrests and deportations.

Mia Love, first Black GOP congresswoman, shares heartbreaking brain cancer diagnosis
[NY Post] God bless. My Dad died from Glioblastoma. It's a death sentence
Former Rep. Mia Love, who became the first Black woman elected to Congress for the GOP, shared the new grim reality of her brain cancer diagnosis in a statement issued Saturday.

The family of Love, 49, said she was diagnosed with glioblastoma and has now stopped all treatment for a malignant tumor as the disease has become too advanced.

"Hello Friends, I’m Mia’s daughter Abigale. Many of you are aware that Mom has been fighting GBM brain cancer," the doting daughter wrote on X via her mother’s account.

"Sadly her cancer is no longer responding to treatment and the cancer is progressing. We have shifted our focus from treatment to enjoying our remaining time with her," Abigale wrote.

The mother of three was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2022, and revealed her diagnosis in 2023. Glioblastoma manifests in the form of a brain tumor; it is an aggressive form of cancer that has an unknown exact cause.

Disaster in the Oval Office: Dems lead Zelensky, Ukraine off a cliff with pressure to reject mineral deal
[NY Post] A common criticism of Volodymyr Zelensky’s disastrous Friday performance in the Oval Office is that he failed to read the room.

Actually, the Ukrainian president did read a room — but it was the wrong room.

Before meeting Trump, Zelensky met with anti-Trump Democrats who advised him to reject the terms of the mineral deal the president was offering, according to Sen. Chris Murphy (D., Conn)
...Junior senator for life from Connecticutt, foreign policy mastermind, a fast friend and a sympathetic ear to mullahs, ayatollahs, and similar riff-raff. The indigestable boilerplate on his website sez he has has dedicated his career to public service as an advocate for Connecticut families, which means approximately nothing except that he's never held an honest job. He's been a strong voice in the Senate fighting for job creation, affordable health care, education, sensible gun laws, and a forward-looking foreign policy. You can guess what that mess actually means, though the voters of Connecticutt seemingly can't...
(D-Conn.).

"Just finished a meeting with President Zelensky here in Washington. He confirmed that the Ukrainian people will not support a fake peace agreement where Putin gets everything he wants and there are no security arrangements for Ukraine," Murphy’s office posted on X at 11:15 a.m. Friday.

He attached a picture of Zelensky at a conference table, with Murphy seated on the opposite side.

Forty minutes later, Zelensky arrived at the White House, where Trump met his car, smiled, shook his hand and walked him into the Oval Office.

ARROGANT INGRATE
The meeting, as the world now knows, quickly went off the rails and ended with Trump angrily ejecting the arrogant ingrate from the White House.

The earlier meeting with Dems undercuts wild claims that Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance staged an ambush. In fact, it was Zelensky who came with an ulterior motive.

The purpose of the meeting was to sign the mineral agreement he and Trump representatives had negotiated. He had twice refused to sign it after promising to, and thanks to Murphy, we now know he had no intention of signing it Friday.

By listening to the nakedly partisan advice of Dems instead of dealing forthrightly with the current president, Zelensky betrayed his countrymen and, for now at least, leaves them without the military and diplomatic protection that only America can provide.

Good luck counting on Britain, France and the rest of Europe to save Ukraine. Maybe the Germans will send strudel.

In a perverse way, Murphy and other Dems got the outcome they wanted. The fireworks at the White House gave them an excuse to replay their Russia Russia Russia hoax.

Once again, they and their media handmaidens are dishonestly insisting that Trump is in Vladimir Putin’s camp.

Like the original Russia hoax that consumed much of Trump’s first term, Russia 2.0 is born of political desperation. After months of not knowing how to respond to Trump’s fast, populist start to his second term, Dems up and down the food chain decided that the president’s refusal to write a blank check to Zelensky and pledge a military guarantee amounts to a gift to Putin.

DESPERATE FOR RELEVANCE
The logic is twisted beyond description, but any port in a storm will do. And with Trump off to the fastest start of any president in modern history, Dems are desperate to be relevant.

It’s a mark of their bad judgment that Zelensky is their new hero. He and they have zero chance of persuading tapped-out Americans that an open-ended commitment of their tax dollars and possibly sending troops to Ukraine is sensible.

Certainly Trump supporters didn’t vote for that, and the president himself campaigned on bringing the war to a fast end, not sending our army to fight Russians.

He made it repeatedly clear for three years that he viewed Joe Biden’s strategy of providing just enough support for Ukraine to keep the war going without any plan for victory as a fool’s errand. He has also been consistent about his desire to stop the enormous loss of life on both sides and the destruction of Ukrainian cities and towns.

Despite the fact that the president made foolish comments two weeks ago suggesting Ukraine started the war, I am convinced Trump truly wants peace. He is not afraid to use the military, but he is not a warmonger.

To that end, he and his White House came up with the minerals plan that he called a first step to a cease-fire.

The plan went through several drafts and the latest would have America and Ukraine form a partnership to mine the eastern European nation’s plentiful rare earth deposits, with much of the proceeds going to help rebuild Ukraine.

A GIFT TO PUTIN
Zelensky, who privately agreed to the terms, has every right to demand a security agreement — up to a point. But he didn’t get one and his decision to respond by insulting the president and vice president, interrupting them and waving off their responses, was madness.

As Trump noted, the heated jabs made for great television, but it was a disaster for Ukraine and a gift to Putin.

Zelensky had an opportunity to apologize to Trump in a later interview with Brett Baier on Fox, but repeatedly refused to do so, saying "I’m not sure we did something bad."

Add ignorance to his list of flaws.

Unfortunately for him, there is an audience egging him on. Beyond Washington Dems, the European Union’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, wrote on social media that "the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge. We stand by Ukraine."

Sure, Europe stands by Ukraine — and will continue to stand by as it gets carved up by Putin’s war machine.

’UKRAINE IS OUR ALLY’
Murphy and other Dems are no better, celebrating Zelensky’s stupendous failure as if it were a victory. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer wrote that "Trump and Vance are doing Putin’s dirty work" and the always repellent Sen. Adam Schiff called Trump a "coward."

New York’s daffy governor, Kathy Hochul, who seems to pick a daily fight with Trump, added her two cents, saying "Ukraine is our ally. Putin is not. It’s not complicated . . . This president may not stand with democracy, but we will."

Oh, please. Hochul can’t even keep the peace on New York’s crime-ridden streets.

Meanwhile, Zelensky’s rejection of the mineral deal means there will be no American interests and businesses in Ukraine, which, as Trump repeatedly said, would help deter Russian attacks.

Moreover, Trump said a final settlement would require Putin to return some of the lands he has taken, and that France, Great Britain and others likely would station peace-keeping troops in Ukraine.

All that should have given Zelensky more than enough confidence to go forward, or at least to raise any concerns in private. Instead, he used a friendly meeting in front of the press to complain that no agreement was sufficient without an American security guarantee, despite being told repeatedly none would be included in the minerals deal.

He’s right that Putin can’t be trusted but he’s a fool for rejecting Trump’s plan and counting on Europe and feckless Dems to help him get a better deal from Trump.

As the president reminded him three times, "you don’t have the cards" to make the demands he was making, but Zelensky ignored the advice and the facts.

What a tragic mistake.

Israel agrees to a temporary ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan and Passover, IDF drilling against return to Gaza
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]
…just hours before the current ceasefire was set to expire.

As truce enters limbo, Israel gives diplomacy with Hamas one last chance before resuming war
[IsraelTimes] PM’s office endorses what it says is a US plan to extend ceasefire until mid-April, with half of hostages going free now and the rest later along with end to war; claims terror group rejects this

As the status of the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
ceasefire entered limbo early Sunday with the formal end of its 42-day first phase, Israel said it would wait an unspecified period of time before taking any action, unveiling details of what it said was an American outline for the release of the remaining hostages and a permanent ceasefire.

Minutes after midnight and following a four-hour security consultation with brass hats, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office declared that it was endorsing what it described as a proposal by US President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
’s special Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, which would see the ceasefire with Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
extended through Ramadan and Passover, during which all hostages could potentially be released.

Ramadan, which began Friday night, runs until March 29. Passover ends on April 19.

According to Israel’s account of Witkoff’s proposal, half of the remaining hostages — living and dead — would be released on the first day of the extended ceasefire, and the remaining captives would be released at the end of the period if a permanent ceasefire is reached.

Terror groups in the Gaza Strip are holding 59 hostages, including the bodies of at least 35 confirmed dead by the Israel Defense Forces. Two of the 24 abductees presumed alive, as well as three of the dead captives, don’t hold Israeli citizenship. Dozens of foreign nationals have so far been freed by Hamas outside of the framework of hostage deals with Israel, meaning any future exchange of hostages for Paleostinian security prisoners is expected to include as many as 22 living captives and at least 32 bodies.

Netanyahu’s office said Witkoff had suggested the outline due to his impression that "at this stage, there is no option to bridge the gaps between the sides on ending the war, and that additional time is needed for talks about a permanent ceasefire."

The statement claimed that Hamas has so far rejected the US plan, and implied that if this stance isn’t changed, Israel could resume the war against the Paleostinian terror group that was sparked by the latter’s October 7, 2023, onslaught and which has been on pause since January 19.

Hamas has indeed publicly rejected Israel’s proposal to extend the first stage of the deal, insisting that the deal proceed with phase two — which includes the release of all remaining living hostages, a full withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza, and a permanent end to the war.
Hamas has indeed publicly rejected Israel’s proposal to extend the first stage of the deal, insisting that the deal proceed with phase two — which includes the release of all remaining living hostages, a full withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza, and a permanent end to the war. Israel has largely refused to negotiate the details of phase two for the past month.

During the first phase, 33 Israeli hostages were released, eight of them dead, in exchange for nearly 2,000 Paleostinian prisoners, including many convicted bandidos murderous Moslems serving hefty jail sentences. Five Thai nationals held hostage in the Gaza Strip were freed separately.

The marathon meeting Saturday evening — headed by Netanyahu and attended by Defense Minister Israel Katz, senior defense officials, and Israel’s negotiating team — was convened to formulate Israel’s path ahead amid the deadlocked negotiations. As of Sunday, the first phase of the truce is over and hasn’t been extended, no second phase has been negotiated, and fighting can therefore resume at any time.

But Jerusalem decided to wait before taking such a step.

Netanyahu’s office said Hamas has yet to accept Witkoff’s plan, saying: "If Hamas changes its position, Israel will immediately enter negotiations on all the details of the Witkoff plan."

The statement did not directly threaten a return to war, instead reminding the public — and Hamas — that the initial agreement allows Israel to return to fighting after March 1 if negotiations are deemed ineffective.

The Prime Minister’s Office claimed in its statement that Hamas had repeatedly violated the agreement, while Israel was in full compliance.

However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
the agreement states that talks on phase two of the deal will begin "no later than day 16." Israel has not engaged in indirect talks with Hamas on the second phase of the agreement until after day 42. Additionally, the IDF didn’t start withdrawing its forces from the Philadelphi Corridor on the Gaza-Egypt border on Saturday, despite the deal requiring Israel to start this process on day 42.

Before Saturday’s high-level consultations, the premier also held an extensive telephone discussion on Friday evening as well, which, in a rare instance, continued into Shabbat.

Under the ceasefire outline agreed by Israel and Hamas on January 19, the remaining living hostages were to be released during the second stage of the deal, during which the IDF would complete a full withdrawal from Gaza. A third stage is also planned, during which the bodies of hostages held by Gazook terror groups would be released, the war would end, and the reconstruction of Gaza would begin.

Senior Israeli officials, including Defense Minister Israel Katz, have said in recent days that the military was preparing for the option of the war resuming.

Channel 12 news reported Saturday that IDF troops have been drilling the past few days for a potential rapid return to areas in Gaza from which the IDF withdrew under the deal, including a return to the Netzarim Corridor, and for the movement of the civilian populace from the north of the Strip to humanitarian areas in southern Gaza.

Two IDF divisions are currently deployed to a buffer zone on the Gaza border, including the Philadelphi Corridor. An Israeli official sent a statement to news hounds Thursday rejecting any withdrawal of IDF troops from the corridor along the Gaza-Egypt border, despite the deal’s requirement that it start pulling out forces on the 42nd day of the ceasefire, and complete the process on day 50.

Israel contends that the border zone is a major smuggling route that will be used by Hamas to bring more weapons and fortifications into Gaza to rebuild its decimated forces unless it is policed by Israeli troops. Both Hamas and Egypt reject a continued Israeli presence there.

Witkoff is expected to visit Israel soon, likely this coming week. The Ynet news site reported early Sunday, without citing sources, that Jerusalem would likely hold off on renewing the fighting until the visit.

An Israeli official told The Times of Israel that Witkoff would not travel to the region until late in the week at the earliest, as he plans to remain in the United States for Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday.

Witkoff said last weekend that he would travel to the region on Wednesday but ended up pushing back his trip, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky came to Washington. Trump has expanded Witkoff’s portfolio to include Russia-Ukraine negotiations, but the Mideast envoy was not seen in the Oval Office during Friday’s explosive meeting between Trump and Zelensky.

They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
, Egypt and the US had been involved in negotiations on the second phase in Cairo, with negotiators from Jerusalem returning home on Friday. Hamas did not attend the negotiations, but its position has been represented through Egyptian and Qatari mediators.

Report: IDF drilling for potential rapid return to Gaza, including moving civilians out of the north of the Strip
[IsraelTimes] In the past few days, IDF troops have been drilling for a potential rapid return to areas in Gaza from which the IDF withdrew under the deal, including a return to the Netzarim Corridor, and for the movement of the civilian populace from the north of the Strip to humanitarian areas in the south of the Strip, Channel 12 reports.

Two IDF divisions are currently deployed to a buffer zone on the Gaza border, including the Philadelphi Corridor on the Gaza-Egypt border.

The report says the Southern Command is on heightened alert and readying for a potential return to fighting at short notice, as talks on the next phase of the ceasefire deal stall.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz will meet tomorrow along with other security officials to discuss preparations for a potential return to warfare in Gaza, and a review of all potential war fronts, Channel 12 reports.

Facing 66% rise in academic boycotts, Israeli universities gear up to fight back
[IsraelTimes] Boycotts of Israeli institutions and researchers won’t stop anytime soon and Israel needs to adapt to the situation, report finds.

Academic boycotts against Israeli institutions continue to gain momentum with no signs of slowing down, according to a report published Monday.

About 500 incidents of academic boycotts were reported during the last half-year through February 2025, 66 percent more than in the six months following the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, according to the Association of University Heads’ Task Force to Combat Academic Boycotts.

The US, Belgium, Spain and England are the countries where the most boycotts were recorded, followed by the Netherlands, Italia and Canada, the report found.

"Our main conclusion following this report is that these boycotts won’t stop anytime soon, and will likely continue for years to come," Emmanuel Nahshon, the head of the task force, told The Times of Israel. "Israel needs to learn to adapt to this situation and develop better tools to deal with it."

This will include creating stronger networks with local Jewish communities and universities, and developing a team to fight the boycotts, Nahshon said. The Association of University Heads is already using its relationships with large Jewish organizations abroad to fight back, and there are efforts to get assistance from the Israeli government, but it will take time, he said.

Among other things, the task force works to monitor the social media activity of pro-Paleostinian organizations on campuses to gather information and prepare for upcoming boycott events.

In addition, a collaboration with a leading law firm in Brussels has had positive results challenging specific European institutions and building coalitions with academics and communities abroad, the task force said.

Israeli academia has been subjected to boycotts for decades, particularly after the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign made it a central target of its anti-Israel strategy in 2004. But the push for the institutional isolation of Israeli universities and intellectuals has grown substantially since Hamas
..one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
launched its war against Israel on October 7, 2023.

According to the report, academic boycotts of Israel are being used to harm collaborations for both institutions and individual figures, as well as preventing Israeli researchers from participating in academic conferences and lectures. There is a decline in overseas participation in academic conferences held in Israel, and Israeli researchers report difficulties publishing articles abroad, the report said.

"Academic boycotts violate the basic principles of academic freedom and freedom of scientific research," said Ben-Gurion University President Daniel Haimowitz, who is also chairman of the University Presidents’ Committee. "Science and academic research should bridge cultural and political gaps, not deepen them."

The task force report listed several prominent boycott cases, including a few it helped to overturn:

  • Ghent University in Belgium decided in May 2024 to sever its academic ties with all Israeli universities, and appealed to the European Commission to deny Israeli academic institutions the ability to participate in Horizon Europe and Erasmus projects. After its appeal was rejected, Ghent independently withdrew from projects involving Israeli partners.

  • In the summer of 2024, the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations decided to suspend its relationship with the Israeli association, which would harm student exchanges and research and clinical exchange programs. The task force has been working to overturn the decision.

  • An appeal to the EU by the Irish Nursing Students Association to expel the Israeli association was rejected, thanks in part to the task force’s legal action.

  • An attempt by mathematicians in France and North Africa to boycott Israel’s Mathematical Union from an international body was mitigated and has not caused any known damage to the Israeli organization.

  • A student initiative to pressure administrators at the Sorbonne in France was put down after a legal challenge and efforts by the Jewish community there.

  • In January 2025, when a private university in India canceled the invitation of a senior Israeli academic to speak at a conference, the Israeli ambassador to India recruited one of India’s wealthiest businessmen to successfully reverse the boycott.
    *Snicker*
“In the end, this will affect everyone,” Nahshon said. “Those who are looking to destroy Israel know that our universities need to interact with the broader academic world, and they see this as a weak point. We have to make sure they don’t succeed.”

Government Corruption
If You Like Kash Patel, Wait ‘Til You See Donald Im
[TennesseeStar] There was rightful rejoicing throughout the land when Kash Patel was sworn in as America’s next Director of the FBI on February 21. What a terrific story. A brilliant and dedicated public servant outrageously persecuted by a federal agency goes on to lead that very agency. But here’s a little secret: America has another Kash Patel waiting in the wings.

The other “Kash Patel,” whose life story bears remarkable similarities to Patel’s, is named Donald Im. Don’s dedication and love of country led him on a dual career path. One, to become an Assistant Special Agent in Charge in the DEA’s Special Operations Division, retiring after 31 years of service, and on a parallel path, retiring from the US Special Operations Command as a lieutenant colonel in the US Army Reserves after 27 years of service, with deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, where he was the architect and designer of the Afghan Threat Finance Cell. He is one of America’s leading experts on money laundering and threat finance. He has testified in multiple venues before the House of Representatives on Chinese involvement in drug money laundering and fentanyl production, as well as the Senate on the use of shell companies by criminal organizations. If ever America needed a general in its undeclared war on China, Don Im is the ideal candidate.

Don, like Kash Patel, is a patriotic and outspoken son of persecuted Asian immigrants who came to this country seeking a better life. He rose through a remarkable career in law enforcement, the intelligence community, and the US military. In his case, Don’s father fled North Korea as a child after his own father had been executed by the North Korean Communists. The elder Im, along with his younger siblings, were saved from starvation by US Army soldiers conducting a patrol near the 38th parallel after a month-long treacherous march down to South Korea in the 1950s to evade the Communists. Don’s mother, born in Japan to Korean parents and whose cousins were killed in the bombing of Hiroshima, married his father while he was serving as a soldier for the Republic of Korea and detailed as a military policeman to the US Army’s 55th MP Company on the DMZ.

His father emigrated to the United States in 1967 and worked as a bartender to bring Don, his little sister, and mother to the States in 1970 and settled down in Adelphi, Maryland. They established a business there, which Don’s parents ran for a remarkable 49 years. They raised three successful children, Don being the eldest, and the youngest currently serving as a Maryland police officer.

In full disclosure, Don and I have been close friends since we were young intelligence analysts in a DEA intelligence unit focused on Latin American drug money laundering. We hit it off immediately when we first met in October 1991. We would eventually collaborate in the production of intelligence products and conduct training assignments, teaching domestic and foreign law enforcement officers around the world on various aspects of money laundering intelligence and investigations.

As a young analyst in the 90s, before becoming a DEA special agent, Don wrote a seminal intelligence report on the warping effects of the drug trade on the Colombian economy. The report, titled Colombian Economic Reform: The Impact on Drug Money Laundering Within the Colombian Economy, was inadvertently released to the press and caused a firestorm, but led to Colombia enacting anti-money laundering laws and regulations. He helped target Pablo Escobar’s finances and after Escobar’s demise, Don targeted the Cali Cartel by identifying the Cartel’s leader’s financial and business operations for the first-ever Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) sanctions in late 1995.

Although our career paths diverged, Don would remain with the DEA until retirement, conducting undercover financial money laundering operations in New York City and South America. He initiated one of the largest money laundering prosecutions in history against HSBC Bank. He gradually rose through the ranks, with increasing positions of responsibility, becoming a subject matter expert in Chinese money laundering. Don, with a degree in economics, recognized the dangers of this Chinese menace as early as 2012 and strove to bring attention to it, briefing officials in the White House and Congress as early as 2017, long before most Americans were even aware of China’s role in the production and spread of fentanyl and other illicit drugs, which has taken an estimated 1.5 million American lives.

I put on my investigative reporter’s hat recently and interviewed Don over a couple hours. Talk about a wealth of knowledge about China and its role in international drug trafficking. His 30,000-foot perspective is one that does not view drug trafficking in isolation as a simple moral and social scourge. For China, it is central to maintaining the Communist Party’s dominance and China’s position in the world using unrestricted warfare tactics.

“The global drug markets have allowed Chinese provincial leaders access to cheap and abundant capital that would otherwise be insufficient from legitimate Chinese investments and loans,” he told me. Don noted that the global heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy, fentanyl, and marijuana trade generates estimated annual revenues of between one- to three-quarters of a trillion dollars, whereby China has been successfully tapping into this abundant source of easy capital through its worldwide diaspora networks and highly secretive organized criminal triads.

He said, “Drug money is one of their [China’s] primary sources of capital for growth and sustainment.” Drug money, he says, allows the Chinese to offset their expenditures on their military weapons technology industry. “Drug revenue,” he tells me, “has generally become China’s ad hoc bank.”

Don then becomes more expansive in his analysis, stressing that China views drug trafficking and organized crime generally as a key plank in its unrestricted asymmetric warfare against the West. He shows me a quote that he keeps on his phone from the late Chinese leader, Deng Xiaoping, who succeeded Mao Zedong. It reads: “As long as organized crime groups support national interests, the CCP is prepared to cooperate with them.”

China, he says, uses unrestricted warfare with all elements of society working in tandem to protect the Chinese Communist Party—including the government, the military, “private” corporations, state-owned enterprises, and organized crime groups. It is an all-of-society approach to maintaining the CCP’s power.

IRS Won't Reveal Addresses of Illegal Aliens After Request from ICE Officials
Time to deploy a DOGE team. And then walk a bunch of people out the door for insubordination.
[GatewayPundit] IRS officials have decided to conceal the home addresses of some 700,000 people suspected of being in the United States illegally, according to a report from the Washington Post.

The decision came on a request from immigration enforcement officials for those locations, and it was the IRS “rebuffing” attempts by the administration of President Donald Trump to gain access to that information for his crackdown on illegals.

The report noted that the Internal Revenue Service had promised “undocumented immigrants” over the years that it would protect their information and it would be safe for them to file income tax documents “without fear of being deported.”

And the IRS said the law doesn’t allow the release of personal information, even to another government agency.
"Paging Lois Lerner to the Discourtesy Phone"
AT the time, the IRS claimed, “There is no authorization under this provision to share tax data with ICE.”

The report said an estimated one-half of the 11 million illegal aliens in the country file income tax returns, filing with individual taxpayer numbers, or ITINs, as they are ineligible for Social Security numbers.

The report credited this population with paying billions of dollars in federal taxes.

The report said the Washington Post got access to a memo in which Department of Homeland Security officials asked the IRS to link the names with a last known address, phone number or email, and the request was a followup to a DHS request weeks ago that would let immigration officials turn over a list of names to the IRS in order to get home addresses.

The publication said five anonymous people familiar with the scenario made those claims.

Then this week a memo asked the IRS “to deploy dozens of highly skilled IRS auditors and criminal investigators to launch probes of businesses suspected of hiring immigrants not authorized to work in the United States,” the report said.

It said, “IRS investigations should be conducted, and assistance should be provided without regard for any threshold, floor, or internal policy for opening an investigation. Further, IRS should provide leads on businesses that are circumventing tax laws or violating worksite-related statutes, many of which are from prior leads or complaints that IRS did not investigate due to not meeting internal IRS policy for opening an investigation.”

While the IRS rejected the plan, the report said, the agency is trying to reach agreement on ways to help immigration officials without violating privacy laws.

The publication’s sources claimed the idea is triggering alarm inside the IRS because handing out taxpayer information to third parties in both a civil and criminal offense.

Dorothy A. Brown, of Georgetown University Law Center, claimed the program sounded like “racial profiling on steroids.”

And the report noted an anonymous federal official said ICE would be viewing IRS records as a way to locate illegal aliens through their address, workplaces, children and more.

Crowded Ukrainian hospital is blown up in Russian kamikaze drone attack
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Ukrainian hospital has been hit by a Russian kamikaze drone strike just hours after Volodymyr Zelensky was banished from the White House following a row with US President Donald Trump.

A Russian strike on a medical facility triggered a fire late on Friday in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city and also hit several other targets, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.

One child was injured in the attack on the hospital.

He said drones also hit an area near a filling station and a building close to a high-rise apartment building.

Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said all the strikes were in central districts of the city and emergency crews were working at the different sites.

Oleh Syniehubov, writing on the Telegram messaging app, said eight Russian drones had hit civilian areas in three central districts of the city, a frequent target of Russian attacks in the three-year-old war.

The attack triggered a fire in the medical facility and other sites and dozens of buildings were damaged. The child was injured by flying glass.

In the Black Sea port of Odesa, another frequent Russian target in southern Ukraine, a drone attack triggered fires in a private home and a business, killing one person and injuring

Consequences of 'negotiations'
Direct Translation via GoOgle Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] Trump adviser Waltz on White House talks.

After the press was asked to leave, we told the president, almost unanimously, that after the insult in the Oval Office, we simply did not see any way forward for dialogue and that any further action would only backfire. We told Zelenskyy and his team that.

And let me say one more thing about this being a setup. That is absolutely not true.

We set up the East Room for a treaty signing ceremony between the two leaders that would have brought the United States and Ukraine together economically through the rare earths that we need and the economic investment that they need.

And this was all happening against the backdrop of Prime Minister Starmer and President Macron of France talking about sending troops.

So this really could have and should have been a positive moment for Ukraine, after which we would have continued to discuss this with Russia and put an end to the war and the death and the destruction. But instead, it became clear to us — and I think this is what upset and even angered the president — that Zelensky does not show that he wants the war to end.

Thus, the United States is effectively shifting all responsibility for the continuation of the war onto Zelensky's gang.

The reformed Graham (I wonder for what business) is wiping out the European satellites of the United States.

"To the Europeans who are wringing their hands and feeling insulted that President Trump refused to listen to President Zelensky's lectures: you are welcome to defend Ukraine from Putin.

It is high time for the Europeans to show that they can defend their continent. They have allowed their armies to be bled dry, and when Europe speaks, no bad guy listens.

I say this with great sadness: the last group of people I would count on to defend freedom are the Europeans" (c) Lindsey Graham

The last one was cast in granite.

* * *

Zelensky is finished.

The US wants to increase pressure on Ukraine to conclude a peace agreement and will avoid direct contacts with Zelensky. (c) Bloomberg

However, all this is still rhetoric - everyone is waiting with interest for practical steps by the Trump administration. For now, they have cut funding for energy recovery and reduced USAID personnel to a minimum.

For us, one way or another, nothing has changed yet - we continue to advance and liberate our territories. The longer the start of negotiations is delayed, the more we will take.

#9  This was all bad and a set-up, from the tell of asking Vance a question directly to the retort when Vance brought up Biden, trying to take Trump down a path of Election fraud. The odd thing is these are arranged in advance, no one goes into this type of meeting without knowing the outcomes. Therefore, the response by the Admin would have been anticipated and the Admin would have been on-guard regarding the demand for an un-neccesary oval office signing. The outcome of blowback, in the form of reduced support, would have been both anticipated and foreseen. Cui bono?
In my thinking NATO is dead to Trump because he wants a larger trans-oceanic alliance to come together, which includes Russia and other countries, in a NATO-loke form isolating China. This was one brick in that wall.

Feds Considering Vaccination for Chickens to control avian flu
US Sec of Ag announced it today
[Wired] AS PART OF a new $1 billion plan to address bird flu in poultry and lower egg prices across the country, US secretary of agriculture Brooke Rollins announced Wednesday that the Department of Agriculture is considering vaccinating chickens against highly pathogenic avian influenza.

The US has dealt with flare-ups of bird flu in the past, but the current outbreak has been raging since 2022. The virus has been detected in wild birds in every state, which go on to expose commercial poultry and other animals. At least 166 million birds and 973 dairy herds have been affected in the current US outbreak. Infected animals have led to 70 cases of bird flu in people, including one death.

Bird flu is extremely deadly for poultry and can wipe out flocks quickly. To stop the virus from spreading, the USDA has long promoted culling infected birds. The practice has led to a 53 percent increase in egg prices from January 2024 to January of this year, and this week the USDA predicted an additional 40 percent increase in 2025.

Will Pfizer provide a suddenly developed mRNA vax?

Or, did another company do it the old fashion SAFE way of collecting chickens that actually survived their infections and developed natural immunity, as the source for a vax?

Given all the recent issues with meat food sources, a person with a Tin Hat on might think Vegans were behind it?

#2  The US Department of Agriculture last week issued a conditional license for an avian flu vaccine for use in chickens.

Zoetis, the manufacturer behind the vaccine, announced the conditional approval Friday, saying in a news release its scientists had begun updating its existing avian flu vaccine in 2022.

If you deliberately murder the chickens, then they do not die of influenza. Public health mission accomplished!

I can see how culling might stop the spread if you have a large number of small chicken farms, but with fewer and larger farms, you end up with a dearth of chickens. I wonder if the recent laws on cage-free eggs have exacerbated the problem.

Perhaps modern biotechnology can find a way to grow eggs without going through the chicken phase.

Detailed Rundown on the German Taurus Missile Family - Next Potential Upgrade for Z-Man
[BlackMountainAnalysis] Wunderwaffe again or just another story for the masses?

As the new “Führer”, Friedrich Merz, is about to become the German chancellor, the story of the "mighty Taurus" German cruise missile is again on the table: The Ukrainian “Führer” requested before and now re-requests that Germany deliver Tauruses as soon as possible. The Taurus missiles for Ukraine are not a done deal, but they are something the CDU/CSU has supported for a while.

Just thinking about this will make many quasi-military experts and charlatans salivate and already see missiles slamming into the Russian command posts, bunkers, airfields, bridges, and even the Kremlin. The never-ending Wunderwaffen story is alive again!

Some may believe that the new "Friedrich der Grosse" is the one who will provide weapons that will turn the tide of the war...

THE “MIGHTY” TAURUS
The Taurus KEPD 350 long-range air-launched cruise missile is designed to destroy targets (including protected ones) without the carrier aircraft entering the enemy's air defense target zone. It is no different than any other cruise missile.

Taurus Systems GmbH, a joint venture between the German company MBDA Deutschland and the Swedish company Saab Bofors Dynamics AB, developed the missile. This marriage between German and Swedish “technology" means the Taurus missile comes with a particular pedigree.

The development of the missile began in 1998, and the work was quite proficient and fast. In 2004, the Taurus KEPD 350 was presented for testing, which was so successful that it was accepted into service in Germany that same year. The German Federal Government ordered 600 combat and 14 training missiles for the Air Force.

Over the years, the missile has been constantly modernized. Today, Taurus Systems GmbH offers a family of missiles that can be used against various targets and launched from multiple carriers.

#2  Yeah and before meeting with Trump, Zelensky met with anti-Trump Democrats who advised him to reject the terms of the mineral deal the president was offering.

Link here.

I'm sure that they also advised him as to how to deal with Trump by being aggressive, knowing that it would create the desired response from the President so that they could then use that response to proclaim 'Orange Man Bad'.

Trump could absolutely tell where this was going downhill by 25 minutes into the video. He had an inkling when Zelensky started bringing out photos.

I'm surprised that the President didn't cut it off right then and there as Zelensky was trying to change the narrative away from the previously agreed to Minerals Deal. I would have had I been running the meeting, but I'm not a politician (nor do I ever hope to be one).

Outrage after 'rogue' Texas judge sets bond for suspected cop killer one day after co-defendant's release
[FoxNews] Texans are outraged after a "rogue" judge set bond for a capital murder suspect who is accused of killing a Houston-area deputy just one day after his co-defendant, another capital murder suspect, was released on bail.

Former Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg slammed Judge Hilary Unger during "Fox & Friends" for providing a pathway for release for suspect Ronnie Palmer, who was charged in connection with the death of Deputy Fernando Esqueda in July 2024.

"Our judges, unfortunately, in Harris County, have shown a pattern of releasing repeat violent offenders among us," Ogg told Lawrence Jones on Friday.

"Right now, there are more than 830 fugitives or individuals on bond for capital murder or murder, but LJ, none for the murder of a police officer. This is a first for us."

Unger set Palmer's bond at $3 million on Thursday, according to a court document shared by the Harris County Deputies' Organization (HCDO). Palmer has been in jail since July with no bond on that charge until now.

He is also facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Esqueda's death. Bond for those charges is set at $50,000 each.

Though Palmer remains in jail as of Thursday, he now has the opportunity to post bail and return to the streets.

This comes on the heels of the release of the other suspect in Esqueda's murder, Dremone Francis, who was released to house arrest after he posted the $1 million bond set in November 2024.

In addition to his capital murder charge, Francis had previously been convicted of manufacturing and delivering drugs. He also had his probation "unsatisfactorily terminated" in 2022.

Unger, whose duty is to set bonds in cases like these, should have set the amount higher to avoid compromising public safety, Ogg argued.

"Unfortunately, Judge Hilary Unger is a rogue judge and notorious for releasing repeat offenders who go out and kill other members of our community," she said.

Following blowback from the community, a defense attorney told FOX 26 Houston on Thursday that Unger was not involved in setting bond for Francis, despite the Houston Police Officers' Union and the HCDO saying that she was.

"They made it very difficult for the judge because she is not the one who had set the bond," said Cheryl Irvin. "The bond was set and nobody objected to it from the district attorney’s office from the previous administration."

Local outlets reported that the State of Texas filed for a proof-evident hearing when Francis was arrested in July 2024, which would've made no bond an option. That hearing was supposed to happen within 10 days, but since it didn't, Francis became eligible for bond and his attorney requested it be set. It's not clear why the state did not proceed with the hearing.

Regardless, Houston Police Officers' Union President Douglas Griffith insisted Unger could have taken additional measures to keep the community safe.

"He had multiple bonds. He's out of a lengthy criminal history. She could have held him. There is no forced mechanism to not hold him in jail. It's completely up to her," he said during "Fox & Friends First," arguing the judge has had a history of releasing violent offenders on bond.

"When these guys don't come to court because it's a capital murder case, then we're going to be forced to go out there and get them again, and then they can gun down another officer," he continued. "There were 42 rounds fired at Deputy Esqueda. These are violent offenders. We are going to see them again in the headlines of the news, and it's all going to be on this judge's back."

Unger, who is up for re-election in 2026, campaigned previously on prioritizing "alternatives to incarceration with an eye towards rehabilitation, a reduction in recidivism, and an increase in community safety," according to her campaign website.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the Harris County District Attorney's Office and the 248th District Court for comment.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Israel threatens Syria with attack over Druze village attack
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] TsAGAL has orders from the Israeli government to be ready to attack Syrian rebel forces amid attacks on a friendly village near Damascus.

Israel is ready to defend a Druze village in Syria. In particular, the Israeli army (TsAGAL) has received an order to increase combat readiness, The Jerusalem Post reports.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz on Saturday evening, March 1, ordered the military to prepare to defend a friendly village in Syria that is currently under attack by Syrian forces.

The village of Jaramana, on the outskirts of Damascus, was attacked by Syrian rebel forces.

"We will not allow the terrorist regime of radical Islam in Syria to harm its friends... If the regime harms its friends, it will suffer from us," they said in a joint statement.

The Friends are a religious and ethnic group living primarily in Lebanon, Syria, Israel and Jordan. They profess a religious doctrine that combines elements of Islam, Gnosticism, Neoplatonism and other philosophical movements.

Their religion separated from Ismailism and became closed. Today it is known that the friends do not accept new followers, but they themselves cannot convert to other faiths.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump lifted a ban on sending 2,000-pound bombs to Israel. The Biden administration suspended the bombs over concerns about casualties in Gaza.
The Times of Israel adds:
According to reports from Syria, authorities from the new Syrian government have been clashing with local Druze button men during a security campaign in Jaramana. At least one Syrian officer was killed, while another was captured and later released, the reports said.

The Israeli statement followed the outbreak of unrest Friday in the Druze settlement of Jaramana, when a member of the security forces entered and started shooting in the air, leading to an exchange of fire with local button men that left him dead.
Apparently, that was unwise
On Saturday, button men came from the Damascus suburb of Mleiha to Jaramana, where they clashed with Druze button men. That left one Druze fighter dead and nine other people maimed, according to the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a war monitor.

When the Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Lord of the Baath...
regime in Syria fell in December, the IDF moved to capture a buffer zone between the countries on the Syrian side of the border.

The IDF described its presence in southern Syria’s buffer zone as a temporary and defensive measure, though Katz has said that troops will remain deployed to nine army posts in the area "indefinitely."

On Monday, Netanyahu said troops would stay on the Syrian side of Mount Hermon and the buffer zone in the Golan Heights for "an unlimited period of time."

"We demand full demilitarization of southern Syria from troops of the new Syrian regime in the Quneitra, Daraa and Suweyda provinces," Netanyahu said, adding that Israel will not accept any threats to Druze in southern Syria.

Last week, it was reported that Israel had begun staff work on a pilot program that would allow Syrian Druze to work in Israeli towns on the Golan Heights.

The program was initiated by Golan Druze, who asked Israeli security officials and the military to assist their Druze brethren over the border, according to the Kan public broadcaster. The plan was being drawn up by Maj. Gen. Ghassan Alian, who heads the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories and is Druze himself.

The initial stage would see dozens of Syrian Druze working in construction and agriculture in Golan Druze towns, according to the report.

Israel conquered most of the Golan Heights from Syria during the 1967 Six-Day War, ahead of which several Arab armies had planned an invasion of Israel. Jerusalem annexed the area in 1981, in a move only recognized by the United States. The UN-patrolled buffer zone was intended to keep Israeli and Syrian forces apart.

Forces loyal to Assad’s government had abandoned their positions in southern Syria before rebel groups even reached Damascus, leading Netanyahu to say there was a "vacuum on Israel’s border."

The United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
considers Israel’s takeover of the buffer zone a violation of the 1974 disengagement accord. Israel says the accord had fallen apart since one of the sides was no longer in a position to implement it.

Austria promises Rojava support after USAID cuts
[Rudaw] A delegation from the Austrian foreign ministry visited the Kurdish administration in northeast Syria (Rojava) on Friday to discuss the humanitarian and security situation, as well as the latest developments in Damascus, and promised European support after Washington made dramatic cuts to its foreign aid.

"The members of the Administrative Body continued their talk about the national dialogue that took place some time ago, that it did not meet the aspirations of the Syrian people, that it did not take into account the sectarian, cultural and ethnic diversity that Syria enjoys, and also the marginalization and exclusion of forces in the areas of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria," read a statement about their meeting from the Democratic Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (DAANES).

The National Dialogue Conference, held in Damascus on Tuesday, was backed by Syria’s interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa and was intended to be a step toward free and fair elections, the formation of an inclusive government, and the drafting of a new Syrian constitution. It has, however, been criticized for marginalizing minority groups. The Kurdish administration and Kurdish forces in Rojava were not invited.

DAANES condemned the conference on Tuesday, calling it "closer to exclusion and marginalization" than a true reflection of the Syrian people’s aspirations and said it ignored Syria's diverse communities and failed to include "the true representatives of the people."

The Rojava administration and the visiting Austrians also discussed the difficult humanitarian situation in camps where Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) members and their families are being kept, especially after USAID funding was cut, according to the statement.

Washington’s decision to suspend foreign aid is worsening conditions in camps holding thousands of people with links to ISIS in Rojava, Human Rights Watch said last month.

Gunter Reiser, who led the delegation and is the deputy head of the security affairs department at the Austrian foreign ministry, said the Austrian government will focus on Syria, Rojava in particular, "to help ensure and obtain everyone's rights."

"European countries will try to provide assistance to the peaceful forces present in this region, after the decision to stop American support for these camps, despite the difficult circumstances that European countries are going through, such as the war in Ukraine," Reiser added, according to the Rojava statement.

The Kurdish administration also informed the Austrian delegation about ongoing attacks by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
and its militias on Tishreen Dam and Qere Qozaq bridge, "which increases the complexity of the security situation in North and East Syria."

Kurdish forces in northern Syria have been under intensified attacks by Turkey and the Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) militias since the fall of the Assad regime.

According to MEMRI, this is from the Friday sermon on December 6, 2024, at the Clifton location of the Hamas-linked Islamic Center of Passaic County, one of New Jersey’s largest mosques. Chris Christie expressed fondness for the place, back when he wanted to be Mitt Romney’s VP.

Serial arsonist loose in Dekalb co. Metro Atlanta
It seems a person or persons have set a series of building on fire.

At last check, 3 FD stations involved and responding.

Looking for more current video now.
[MSN] Crews are currently battling a massive fire that started at a tire shop in DeKalb County, but quickly grew on Saturday afternoon.

DeKalb County fire officials confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a portion of Covington Hwy. is closed near Panola Road while firefighters work.

Fire officials say it started as a car fire at a tire shop, but quickly grew to a grass fire and took over two storage sheds on the property.

There is no word on any injuries.

This comes as all of north Georgia remains under a Red Flag Warning for high fire danger because of dry air and gusty winds, meaning that fires could quickly spread.

The warning lasts until 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Why Arab Countries Do Not Want Gazans
[AmericanThinker] For decades, Arab nations have positioned themselves as staunch supporters of the Palestinian cause, yet their actions suggest otherwise. Although they publicly denounce Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights, behind closed doors, many Arab leaders have systematically worked to prevent a permanent resolution to the Palestinian issue. Nowhere is this hypocrisy more evident than in the refusal of most Arab states — particularly Jordan — to integrate Palestinians, despite historical, demographic, and geopolitical realities that make Jordan the most viable Palestinian homeland.

Jordan is historically part of Palestine, with the majority of its population being Palestinian. Given these facts, Jordan should logically serve as the natural homeland for displaced Palestinians rather than advocating for a separate Palestinian state in the West Bank or Gaza. However, the Hashemite monarchy, which has ruled Jordan since its creation as a British protectorate, actively disenfranchises Palestinian Jordanians, maintaining them in a second-class status while simultaneously portraying itself as a champion of Palestinian rights.

Western policymakers often justify Jordan’s treatment of Palestinians by referencing the events of 1970, when King Hussein used the Pakistani army to crush an attempted PLO takeover. However, declassified White House documents suggest a different perspective. Then—U.S. secretary of State Henry Kissinger viewed the idea of Palestinian self-rule in Jordan as the chance for a solution to the Palestinian question. In a White House memo to President Nixon, Kissinger argued that a Palestinian-led government in Jordan could provide "a Palestinian settlement."

Nixon did not support the concept. This allowed King Hussein to enlist the support of Pakistan, which sent troops to Jordan and swiftly suppressed the Palestinians, killing thousands of civilians. With that, the prospect of a Palestinian state in Jordan was extinguished, paving the way for decades of failed peace initiatives based on the so-called two-state solution.

Fast-forward to today, and Jordan’s King Abdullah himself is in an alliance with Iran — yes, Iran. Unlike other Arab leaders who maintain a distance from Tehran, Abdullah has openly courted the Iranian regime, even going so far as to feature a photograph with Iran’s supreme leader in his memoir Our Last Best Chance. This relationship has been extensively documented, including by Israeli journalist Edy Cohen, who wrote in The Jerusalem Post, "It’s official: Jordan is now allies with Iran."

Beyond Iran, Abdullah has also strengthened economic ties with China, Iran’s primary military and political backer. Instead of accepting discounted Israeli liquid natural gas, he chose to take a significant loan from China to build a power station, which trapped Jordan in billions of dollars of debt to China.

Also, Abduallah is in full alliance with the radical Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan, which he uses for leverage against the disgruntled Palestinian majority. Simply put, whenever the oppressed Palestinian majority requests basic civil rights, the Jordanian Bedouin-dominated Muslim Brotherhood group launches demonstrations requesting "the right of return to Palestine" to remind Jordan’s Palestinians that "they are mere refugees in Jordan despite being citizens" and hence "should have no rights here."

This may explain why Abduallah, like most Arab rulers, is keen to sustain the Palestinian issue rather than resolve it. By keeping Palestinians in a stateless limbo, Abdullah and other Arab leaders maintain a useful political tool for extracting foreign aid and exerting leverage over the West.

The manipulation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is not unique to Jordan. With the exception of Saudi Arabia, nearly every Arab state has benefited from prolonging the conflict. The Palestinian issue has become a convenient pretext for securing foreign aid, suppressing internal dissent, and leveraging influence in Washington. Though publicly condemning Israel, many of these regimes have secretly collaborated with Israel on security matters while ensuring that Palestinians remain in permanent refugee status to serve as a bargaining chip.
Israel have absorbed Jewish refugees from Arab World. Arabs, having 1000 times larger territory and 100 times more resources choose to put Arab refugees from the war they've started in camps and (with a lot of international assistance) make them a weapon against Israel. And then they complain that "Palestinians" are a destabilizing factor!

Hakeem Jeffries: Trump Isn''t Focused on Key Issues Like Securing the Border Like Dems Are
That definitely is a perspective on the situation. Not remotely connected to reality, but a perspective.
[BREITBART] On Friday's broadcast of CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
's ''Situation Room,'' House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) argued that the Trump administration hasn't focused on the problems of everyday Americans, while Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
are ''continuing to make sure that we focus on trying to make life better for everyday Americans.'' And ''We have to drive down the high cost of living. We have to secure the border.''

Jeffries said, ''Look, what we've seen from the Trump administration over the last several weeks is just a flood of unprecedented extremism and a parade of horribles that continue to be unleashed on the American people, while, at the same time, the Trump administration is not focused on solving the problems of everyday Americans. We're continuing to make sure that we focus on trying to make life better for everyday Americans. Fundamentally, that's why we were sent to Washington, D.C.''
With that as the official Democratic Party approach, betcha fewer Democrats will be sent to DC after the next election in two years.
He continued, ''We have to drive down the high cost of living. We have to secure the border. We have to keep communities safe. We have to protect our DREAMers and farm workers and families. These are the things that matter, as opposed to creating crisis-like moments when we should be coming together and demonstrating leadership for the free world.''

Asteroid YR4's Moon Encounter Dangerous for Earth Due to Possible 8-Mt Explosion
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The collision of asteroid 2024 YR4 with the Moon could be dangerous for the Earth, since the collision of the cosmic body with the surface of the satellite will result in an explosion with an energy release of about 8 megatons. This was reported to TASS by astronomer, research fellow at the M.V. Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences Leonid Elenin.

"A collision [of an asteroid] with the Moon could be dangerous for the Earth, because there would be a powerful explosion, an energy release of approximately 8 megatons. The Moon has no atmosphere, low gravity, so all the ejected debris could eventually fall on our planet," Elenin said.
Ok. What’s the probability?
According to him, the probability of an asteroid colliding with the Moon is currently about 1%.
Only 1%? I can sleep peacefully at night with that likelihood.
At the same time, the value of the predicted risk of its collision with the Earth is being adjusted in accordance with new data.

According to astronomers' calculations, asteroid 2024 YR4 may approach Earth in a little less than eight years - on December 22, 2032. In early February, NASA estimated the risks of this collision at 2.2%, later this figure rose to 3.1%. However, the service then again adjusted the figure to 0.28%.
Definitely sleep peacefully.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, asteroid 2024 YR4 was discovered in December 2024 by astronomers at the ATLAS observatory in Chile. Initially, NASA estimated the probability of Earth colliding with this cosmic body at 1%, but on February 7, 2025, it reported that the figure had risen to 2.3%.

A team of observers from the University of Arizona and NASA, created to identify potentially dangerous space bodies, admitted that 2024 YR4 could crash into the Moon. Experts noted that in this case, some debris could fall to Earth, but it would not pose a serious threat.

#4  Most of the debris from a collision would fall back on the moon. Almost none of the debris would get into the Earth's gravity field. Almost all the debris that got into the Earth's gravity field would burn in the Earth's atmosphere.

Reuters: Israel Lobbies to Maintain Russian Bases in Syria to Weaken Turkey
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Israel is lobbying the United States to maintain Russian military bases in Syria, Reuters reported on March 1, citing an informed source.

According to these data, Tel Aviv believes that this would help to leave Syria weakened and decentralized and would minimize Turkey's ability to exert significant influence on Syria.

While it is unclear whether the administration of US President Donald Trump is ready to agree to these proposals, the position of the new US government on the Middle East issue remains uncertain, the authors noted.

Some US officials suggested during the meetings that Türkiye, as a NATO member, could be a security guarantor for Tel Aviv, but Israeli officials disagreed, the report also said.
Yes, that is an idiotic idea. President Recep Tayip Erdogan is furious that, instead of humbly accepting dhimmi status, the only Jewish state insists on believing itself the equal of Christian, and even Moslem states, though the latter are the Master Religion and Allah’s best beloved.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, in early December 2024, the armed opposition of Syria launched an offensive against the government troops of the republic. On December 8, the Syrian army left the center of Damascus. Militants captured the headquarters of state television and announced the seizure of power in Syria. The president of the republic, Bashar al-Assad, resigned and left the country, receiving political asylum in the Russian Federation. Ahmed al-Sharaa was declared the head of the administration of the interim government of Syria.

Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov noted in December 2024 that Russia expects to maintain military bases in Syria, since they play an important role in the fight against international terrorism.

On February 7, the new head of the Syrian Ministry of Defense, Marhaf Abu Kasra, stated that the country could agree to the preservation of Russian military bases if it would be beneficial to Damascus.

The press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov noted that the negotiation process on the issue of Russian bases in Syria is continuing. In particular, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov discussed this topic during his visit to Ankara, Peskov noted.

PKK agrees to ceasefire, Turkey’s Erdogan says ready for dialogue
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), banned in Turkey, has declared its readiness to agree to a ceasefire, heeding the call of its imprisoned leader Abdullah Ocalan. This was reported by the Turkish TV channel A haber, citing the party's appeal.

"We agree with [Ocalan's] call, with its content. We declare that we will, for our part, observe and fulfill the demands of this call. We declare a ceasefire," the PKK said in a statement.

The Kurdish organization also stressed that their agreement to a ceasefire would be valid on the condition that they were not attacked. The PKK pointed out the importance of Ocalan's participation in disarmament.

"We are also ready to convene a party congress at the leader's request. However, this requires the creation of appropriate security conditions, and Leader Apo (Ocalan's party nickname - Ed.) must personally lead and conduct the congress for its success," the PKK letter states.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the founder of the PKK, Ocalan, who is serving a life sentence, called on his fighters on February 27 to lay down their arms and stop the armed confrontation with Turkey. According to him, the dissolution of the PKK is necessary because it was created in the last century, during a period when democratic paths were closed. Now, the PKK founder believes, the situation has changed, since peace and democratic society have become the language of the modern era.

On January 6, the Hürriyet newspaper reported, citing sources, that the new Syrian authorities had demanded that the PKK leadership lay down their arms during negotiations. It was noted that in exchange for the surrender of their arms, the Kurdish representatives demanded that they be given a division or army corps in the Syrian army being created and that the oil fields in the north of the country, controlled jointly with the United States, be equally divided.

On December 25, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the PKK had no choice but to lay down its arms, vowing otherwise to "bury the Kurdish fighters along with their weapons."

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK began in 1984. Ankara views the group as a threat to national security, regularly carrying out raids against its supporters at home and operations in northern Iraq and Syria. In January, Erdogan said the Turkish and Syrian armed forces would carry out a large-scale military operation against the PKK if the West made new demands.

Erdogan ready for dialogue, but threatens ‘iron fist’ if PKK disarmament fails

[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
on Saturday said Ankara is open to compromise and dialogue, but threatened to continue military operations "if the promises given are not kept," after the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) announced a unilateral ceasefire following a call from their nabbed
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
leader to disarm and disband.

"If the promises given are not kept and attempts are made to resort to oriental tricks such as constant stalling, deceitful name changing and doing whatever they want, the sin will not be on us. We will continue our ongoing operations, if necessary, until we eliminate the last terrorist, without leaving a single stone on top of another, without leaving a single head on his shoulder," Erdogan said on Saturday, according to Anadolu Agency.

A letter from the imprisoned leader of the PKK, Abdullah Ocalan, was shared with the public on Thursday. In it, he urged the group to disarm and disband. His message has sparked hope for an end to four decades of a conflict that has taken 40,000 lives.

On Saturday, the PKK announced their full support for Ocalan’s message and declared a unilateral ceasefire, reserving the right to self defense. But they warned that in order for peace talks to be successful, "a suitable democratic political and legal foundation must also be established."

Erdogan indicated he is open to peace talks, but with caution.

"Of course, we give priority to discussion, conversation and compromise in resolving our issues, and we continue to do so. From now on, we will continue to observe mutual respect, tolerance and dialogue instead of hate speech, fighting and tension, but we always keep our iron fist ready in case the hand we extend is left in the air or bitten," he said.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
carried out multiple attacks on suspected PKK positions in the Kurdistan Region in the days after Ocalan’s message was released, according to the Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT), which monitors the conflict.

"Since Ocalan's message, Turkey has bombed the borders of both Duhok and Erbil provinces seven times," CPT member Kamaran Osman told Rudaw on Saturday.

Two strikes targeted Erbil province and the remaining occurred in Duhok province.

"Turkey has bombed Khwakurk once and Khnera once on the Sidakan border in Erbil province," Osman said. "The other five bombardments were in Duhok province. Two of them on Mount Gara and the other three bombardments were in Matin, especially on the borders of the villages of Goharzeh and Kani Balagh."

The PKK has bases in the Kurdistan Region.

Danish gunners

[ColonelCassad] On the role of geosynth. How Danish propagandists helped the Russian Armed Forces destroy the headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Sumy Oblast.

Fighting in Sumy Oblast: Following a tip-off from Danish journalists, the Ukrainian Armed Forces headquarters was destroyed in Yunakovka

A group of journalists from the Danish publication DR.dk, namely correspondent Matilde Kimer (already banned from entering Russia) and photographer Lau Svensson, accompanied by their Ukrainian assistant ("fixer") Alla Didur, illegally crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border from February 20 to 25, 2025 to prepare their report about the fighting in the Sudzhan border area.

We ask law enforcement agencies to initiate a criminal case.

The story could have ended there, if not for one important detail: the video captured the entrance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces headquarters in the village of Yunakovka, Sumy Oblast (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2). Our comrades from the 155th Joint Marine Brigade were able to determine the location of the Ukrainian Army headquarters (Fig. 3 and Fig. 4).

Naturally, the results of the open source analysis were passed on to competent specialists. After some time, an Iskander OTRK struck the headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (Fig. 5).

In turn, the first obituaries of the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers destroyed in the village of Yunakovka have already appeared in social networks.

We ask Russian law enforcement agencies to take into account the assistance of Danish journalists to our servicemen in achieving the goals of the Special Military Operation.

P.S. According to the information we have, additional reconnaissance was conducted before the strike, which confirmed the results of the open source analysis and made it possible to directly reveal the location of the Ukrainian Armed Forces headquarters in a building hidden from prying eyes.

Again, to the question of the characters posting photos from our side in the style of "What's wrong...". The enemy also works with our photos and videos. And what the idiots posting photos and videos won't notice, an open source intelligence analyst will.

'Half an Hour's Respite - and Again the Attack.' How 90 'Greenhorns' Turned the Tide of the 2nd Chechen War
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Daniil Pelymov

[REGNUM] "The battalion was carrying out a blocking mission. Intelligence discovered the caravan. The battalion commander moved to the battlefield and commanded the unit. The soldiers fulfilled their duty with honor. I am proud of my people." These few words of Colonel Sergei Melentyev, commander of the 104th regiment of the 76th Pskov Airborne Division, at a briefing on March 5, 2000, became the first official testimony of the bloody battle that took place several days earlier in the Argun Gorge of Chechnya.

Only later, from the words of the survivors, it became clear that this was an event that would forever enter the history of the Russian army.

Exactly twenty-five years ago, 90 young fighters of the 6th company of the 104th regiment found themselves in the path of militants who were many times superior in force – and at the cost of their lives, they thwarted the breakthrough through the mountains of a large group of Shamil Basayev and the international terrorist Khattab. At the same time, the feat of the “Spartans from the Airborne Forces” revealed the systemic problems of the Russian army of that time, which had to be solved already in the new century.

ENEMY BREAKTHROUGH IN TWO DIRECTIONS
The last year of the 20th century, 2000, was a leap year, so the last battle of the 6th company of the Pskov landing force fell on a rare date - February 29.

Leap years are considered difficult years – and in this case it was not just a matter of popular superstition. It was the last war that Russia had waged this century – the Second Chechen War.

Since September 1999, the army, at the cost of heavy losses, but steadily corrected the mistake made in 1996 - when the First Chechen War was ended by the Khasavyurt Peace. The conflict was supposedly stopped, but the "deal" only extended the life of the criminal-terrorist enclave that called itself the "Chechen Republic of Ichkeria". The regime that captured Chechnya quickly drifted from separatism to Islamism and could not help but begin "exporting jihad" - the invasion of Khattab and Basayev's gangs into Dagestan without the knowledge of the "President of Ichkeria" Aslan Maskhadov was inevitable.

By the end of 1999, the militants' attack was repelled by the regular army and Dagestani militias, and the war continued on enemy territory. The cities of Gudermes, Achkhoy-Martan, Argun, Shali, and the village and airfield of Khankala had already been liberated, and the battle for Grozny was underway (November 1999 - February 2000).

During the retreat from the Chechen capital, the "Ichkerians" lost many fighters who were blown up in their own minefields. Unable to confront the regular army in open combat, the enemy retreated to the mountains of the Shatoi and Itum-Kalinsky districts, where they felt more confident.

The absence of problems with food, the support and training of Arab professional terrorists (who were supervised by the “Black Arab” Khattab and the main “specialist” in airborne and subversive operations Abu al-Walid ), knowledge of the terrain - all this contributed to the effective operations of the Wahhabis and the difficulties of the advancement of the “federalists”.

The gang of "division general" Ruslan Gelayev moved towards the village of Komsomolskoye (Urus-Martanovsky district), trying to gain a foothold in this strategically important point of mountainous Chechnya. Gelayev hoped for the effectiveness of the tactics of the first war, when Salman Raduyev's terrorists successfully held Pervomayskoye together with the hostages. The battles for Komsomolskoye (March 5-20, 2000) became the last major battle of the Second Chechen War and require a separate story. We will turn our attention to another group.

The formation under the dual command of Basayev and Khattab concentrated in the area of the village of Ulus-Kert in the Shatoi district and the adjacent mountains along the Argun gorge. From here, the enemy planned to wage a sabotage war and wait for spring to begin full-scale guerrilla operations. Ulus-Kert became a "stronghold" for the separatists.

The goal of our army was to encircle and eliminate the remaining large groups in the Argun Gorge. The enemy hoped to break out of the encirclement being formed and, possibly, break through the mountains into Dagestan again.

YOUNG, INEXPERIENCED
In this difficult situation, the 6th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 104th Regiment, consisting mainly of young, “green” soldiers (many were only 19 years old), was ordered to occupy the dominant height 776 in the Argun Gorge.

The problems began even before the operation. The better prepared and equipped 4th company was originally planned to be assigned to fortify the heights, but due to problems with transport, the "green" 6th company was sent on the mission.

It is worth adding that right before being sent to the combat zone, the company was staffed from different units, which affected its coherence and combat training. The commanders were able to get to know the fighters only at the front. This is exactly the situation that Guards Major Sergei Molodov, appointed as the group leader, found himself in. Together with him, the battalion commander, Guards Lieutenant Colonel Mark Yevtyukhin, took command.

The concept of the operation was quite simple. By this time, the 3rd company of the same 104th regiment, already occupying a fortified height, successfully held off the onslaught of superior enemy forces, using machine gun fire and artillery support with a smaller staff. Therefore, the "youngsters" from the 6th company were given a similar task.

A major problem in planning the operation was the lack of proper information about the enemy's forces and movements. There was a lack of technical equipment and scale of reconnaissance operations, and Basayev's men themselves skillfully camouflaged themselves in the mountain forests and carried out large-scale regroupings only at night.

"NO, THEY'RE GOBLINS."
On the afternoon of February 29, the paratroopers encountered a small enemy reconnaissance group. After a short firefight, the militants retreated, and then Major Molodov was tragically killed by a sniper shot, which was a blow to the morale of the personnel.

It was an alarming signal, but no one realized the scale of the impending threat. They thought everything was all right. The separatists, noting that the detachment was small, had a lot of cargo, and was poorly trained in moving in the mountains (the company was scattered in a long chain along the mountains), decided to break through the chain right here, sensing what they thought was a weak bleeding spot.

Khattab was confident of success, but Basayev still initially doubted the success of the fight even with such an advantage.

A recording of their radio communications from February 29, intercepted by our intelligence, has been preserved.

Basayev: If there are dogs in front (in militant jargon - soldiers of the internal troops), we can come to an agreement.

Khattab : No, they are goblins (paratroopers)

Basayev: Listen, maybe we should go around? They won't let us in, as soon as we reveal ourselves...

Khattab: No. We will cut them down.

The separatists were counting on success, as they outnumbered the paratroopers, outsold them in experience and mobility. As veteran of the 104th regiment Andrei Lobanov noted, the field commanders were far from being "schoolchildren", they were experienced, trained people with disciplined fighters. Also, unlike the "federals", who carried all their belongings, including potbelly stoves, the militants could leave most of their equipment and provisions in Ulus-Kert and actively used pack animals.

TWO DAYS IN HELL
During the day, the jihadists secretly approached the army positions and began to dig in. In the evening, a fierce battle began. The exact number of attackers is unknown, but according to various estimates, up to 2,500 people. Only the first waves of attacks involved 300-400 militants armed with mortars, machine guns, and sniper rifles.

“They were simply coming at us like a wall, their eyes bulging, shouting: ‘Allahu Akbar!’” Guards Sergeant Andrei Porshnev, one of the six who survived the battle at Height 776,told Rossiyskaya Gazeta in 2014.

“We’d shoot one wave, have a half-hour break, and then attack again... There were a lot of them,” the soldier recalled.

The battle flared up with incredible force. The paratroopers, despite the enemy's numerical superiority, put up a desperate resistance. Every meter on the approach to the dominant height was drenched in blood.

By midnight on March 1, the shooting had died down. The unit, previously stretched out along the heights, began to regroup, help the wounded and remove the dead. Artillery support was ineffective due to inaccurate calculations, poor intelligence and the stressed state of the gunners. Nevertheless, according to enemy information, at least 30 "mujahideen" were killed by artillery fire.

On the night of March 1, the 1st company of Guard Major Sergei Baran tried to break through to help: only they had the opportunity to cover the distance to the heights in the shortest time and help their comrades. But, probably, the fighters encountered a blocking detachment of militants while crossing the Abazulgol River and were forced to retreat.

At the same time, the paratroopers, tired and having lost a third of their number, were unable to dig trenches in the frozen ground, despair gripped everyone, and the only hope was for dawn, which would dispel the darkness for artillery and reinforcements. Around 6 a.m., the enemy made a final attempt to break through.

The wounded paratroopers continued to fight, covering the retreat of their comrades. When their ammunition ran out, not wanting to surrender, they blew themselves up with grenades, taking their enemies with them to the grave. By order of Captain Viktor Romanov, who took command after Yevtyukhin's death, the heights were covered with artillery fire.

By morning, the 6th company had practically ceased to exist. Only six remained alive. The enemy's loss figures vary. Colonel General Gennady Troshev, who commanded the united federal forces during the Second Chechen War, wrote in his memoirs about 400 "Ichkerians" killed, while the newspaper " Krasnaya Zvezda " wrote about half a thousand fighters in an article for the first anniversary of the battle.

LESSONS OF TRAGEDY AND HEROISM
In any case, at the cost of its life (and at the cost of tragic mistakes), the 6th Company greatly influenced the outcome of the war. The active combat phase of the Second Chechen War - with the capture of cities and large-scale battles "in the field" - ended by April 2000.

On the other hand, the tragedy at the 776th height stirred up all of Russia. A mass of legal proceedings followed, connected with the death of soldiers, in every corner of the country they knew about the battle for the 776th height.

The unit was able to delay the advance of the militants, but in the future the shortcomings of the old military system (understaffing, sending "green" conscripts to the front lines, the quality of planning operations and coordination between units) will lead to tragic episodes and a number of military failures. It is enough to recall the destruction of a column of Perm OMON near the village of Dzhani-Vedeno in March 2000. And some of Basayev's and Khattab's men managed to break through from the Argun Gorge in other areas. The "Black Arab" himself was liquidated in 2002, Basayev was "gotten" only in 2006.

But, be that as it may, the experience of mistakes, successes and exploits of the Second Chechen Campaign - completed successfully, but at a high price - was laid as the basis for the military reform of 2001-2004 and, in general, became the beginning of the revival of the Russian Armed Forces, which distinguished themselves during the five-day war in South Ossetia, and in the Syrian operation, and on the fields of the North Caucasus Military District.

The special operation added new pages to the annals of the Airborne Forces' history (it is enough to recall the defense of the airport in Gostomel in February 2022), but the paratroopers do not forget the feat of the generation of fathers and older brothers. The whole of Russia remembers them, which is especially important now, when, on the initiative of the president, 2025 has been declared the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland.

Somalia and Ethiopia Hail New Military Pact, Signaling Thaw in Relations
They’re on again after being off again… to be followed by off again in due course.
[Garowe] Somalia and Æthiopia have welcomed a recent military deal between the Somali National Army (SNA) and the Æthiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF), which paved the way for a new collaboration based on mutual respect and strict adherence and respect to each country's territorial integrity and illusory sovereignty.

General Odowaa Yusuf Rage of the SNA and Field Marshal Birhanu Jula met a few days before President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud hosted Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Mogadishu, where the deal was approved by both parties.

In a joint communique released after Abiy's trip to Mogadishu, the two countries called the deal between the commanders a 'critical step' toward 'enhancing security cooperation' and fostering regional stability.

The visit, the two leaders admitted, reinforces the "normalization of bilateral relations" after months of engagements. They emphasized their "deep historical ties" and the importance of "building trust" through "stronger diplomatic, economic, and social cooperation."

Æthiopia and Somalia have renewed their engagement after a year of diplomatic fallout triggered by the former's decision to sign an agreement with Somaliland
...Republic of Somaliland is an unrecognised sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, recognised internationally as a de jure part of Somalia. It is located in the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden with approximately 5.7 million residents as of 2021. The capital and largest city is Hargeisa. The government regards itself as the successor state to British Somaliland, which united from 1960 to 1991 with the Trust Territory of Somaliland (the former Italian Somaliland) to form the Somali Republic. Under the Siad Barre regime, Somaliadestroyed ninety percent of Hargeisa Per international law, once you're in, you gotta stay in, no matter how bad it smells....
, a breakaway region of Somalia, which would have given Æthiopia 20 kilometers of access to the Red Sea in exchange for international recognition.

As part of her retaliation strategy, Somalia signed a military pact with Egypt, a traditional rival of Æthiopia besides ruling out participation of the ENDF in the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).

Somalia has since reached an agreement with Æthiopia over the participation of the Æthiopian National Defense Forces in the AUSSOM mission which started in January. The two countries also embraced technical teams to find the best way Æthiopia can access the sea without compromising Somalia’s illusory sovereignty.

President Mohamud’s visit to Æthiopia in January marked a turning point, with both sides agreeing to "full diplomatic representation" and expanded economic and security collaboration. The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
played a key role in the mediation process.

The AUSSOM troops selected from Kenya, Æthiopia, Djibouti, Egypt, and Uganda total to 11,900. However,

Burundi has threatened to withdraw its contingent after it failed to agree on the exact numbers with Somalia, with Bujumbura pushing for an extra 1,000 soldiers.

UN warns Eritrean troops of engagement in Tigray
[Garowe] The United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
has yet again blamed Eritrea
...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age...
n troops for continued violations of human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
in the Tigray region, adding that the abuses call for accountability and discipline for the sake of transparency.

Ilze Brands-Kehris, Assistant Secretary-General at the UN Human Rights Office, said the Eritrean Defense Forces (EDF) remain in Tigray despite the 2022 Cessation of Hostilities Agreement, which mandated their withdrawal. The agreement was signed in South Africa.

Citing the joint OHCHR—Æthiopia Human Rights Investigations Team in 2023, she said the Eritrean troops were found culpable of serious violations of human rights in northern Æthiopia, within Tigray state.

"This impunity continues to embolden perpetrators of human rights violations," she added.

For two years since the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement was signed, the Eritrean Defence Forces have refused to withdraw from Tigray. The agreement called for the immediate withdrawal of international forces from Tigray.

"Our Office has credible information that the Eritrean Defence Forces remain in Tigray," she said, adding that they are responsible for "abductions, rape, property looting, and arbitrary arrests." She called for their "immediate withdrawal."

Several international human rights organizations have documented abuses by Eritrean forces in the Tigray region both during and after the war. In its 2024 annual report, Human Rights Watch cited "ongoing abuses by Eritrean forces," including "rape, sexual violence against women and girls, and looting of civilian property."

A previous report by Addis Standard also documented accounts of abductions in Zalambessa, where residents said they are "living in fear" and avoiding going outside after dark due to the presence of Eritrean troops, Addis Standard reports.

Somali Government Detains Senior Macawiisley Militia Officer Amid Allegations of Al-Shabaab Ties
[ShabelleMedia] Somalia’s government has confirmed the detention of a senior officer from the Macawiisley militia, a pro-government clan-based force engaged in the ongoing battle against al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
Death Eaters in Hirshabelle.

The Macawiisley militia, primarily made up of pastoralist herders, plays a significant role in countering al-Shabaab’s presence in central Somalia. The militia is known for its support of government forces in the fight against the krazed killer group.

A military helicopter reportedly transported the detained officer from the Middle Shabelle region to Mogadishu after an operation. The officer, identified as Wabiir, was recently seen in a video filmed by al-Shabaab, raising suspicions about his possible links to the bad boy group.

Wabiir was later observed in areas controlled by both the Somali government and the Macawiisley militia, further intensifying concerns regarding his loyalty. The government has launched an investigation into whether he provided assistance to al-Shabaab.

Major General Hassan Ali Nuur Shuute, Chairman of the Somali Armed Forces Court, confirmed that a thorough inquiry would be conducted, as authorities remain keen to establish whether Wabiir acted in collaboration with the bad boys.

The case has sparked online debates, with social media users questioning Wabiir’s possible ties to al-Shabaab, given that it is believed that individuals in his position cannot easily escape the group’s control. The Somali government has pledged to intensify efforts to uncover the truth and ensure accountability for anyone found cooperating with al-Shabaab.

Home Front: WoT
Minneapolis man charged with trying to join the Islamic State group
[ShabelleMedia] A Minneapolis man who allegedly expressed admiration for the truck attack in New Orleans that killed 14 people has been accused of trying to join the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group, federal prosecutors announced Friday.

Abdisatar Ahmed Hassan, 22, made his first court appearance on a charge of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. He was ordered held without bail until a detention hearing March 5.

The chief federal defender for Minnesota, Katherian Roe, said her office will represent him but declined to comment on the case.

The criminal complaint against Hassan, a naturalized U.S. citizen, alleges that he tried twice in December to travel from Minnesota to Somalia to join the group but did not succeed. It says he claimed he was going to visit family but had none there.

Prosecutors said the FBI’s investigation established that Hassan expressed public support for the group in multiple posts on social media and also praised Shamsud-Din Jabbar on TikTok over the New Orleans attack.

Investigators say Jabbar, a 42-year-old Texas native and U.S. Army veteran, posted videos professing allegiance to the Islamic State group and an intent to harm others before he plowed a pickup through a crowd of New Year’s revelers on Bourbon Street on Jan. 1. Police fatally shot him during an exchange of gunfire at the scene.

Hassan also allegedly posted a video last week, of himself driving while holding an Islamic State group flag inside his vehicle. The FBI said it also observed him driving with the flag Wednesday. He was arrested on Thursday.

The charging documents also say police in New York notified the FBI last May that Hassan had made social media posts in support of the Somali group al-Shabaab
... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
. An affidavit from an agent says Sherlocks spotted al-Shabaab and Islamic State group propaganda videos on his TikTok and Facebook accounts. It also alleges that he exchanged messages with a Facebook account that encourages Somali-speaking individuals to travel and fight on behalf of the Islamic State group.

FBI agents were watching when Hassan went to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Dec. 13, authorities say. He allegedly tried to check in for a flight to Somalia but left after an airline employee told him he lacked required travel documents.

He allegedly tried again Dec. 29. Agents saw him board a flight to reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
, where Customs and Border Protection officers interviewed him extensively before his scheduled flight to Æthiopia but did not detain him. He missed the flight and returned to Minneapolis, the affidavit says.

Hassan is the latest of several Minnesotans suspected of leaving or trying to leave the U.S. to join the Islamic State group in recent years, along with thousands of fighters from other countries. In 2016 nine Minnesota men were sentenced on federal charges of conspiring to join the group, and a Minnesotan who actually fought for the group in Iraq was sentenced last June to 10 years in prison.
Yahoo has a photo of the miscreant here.
Mr. Hassan, an ethnic Somali, was born in Kenya to parents from Somalia. He lived in Amarillo, Texas, and moved to Minneapolis in 2023, according to an affidavit from FBI agent Scott Zimmerman, though the document does not say when Mr. Hassan and his family moved to the United States.

US kills senior Hurras al-Din leader in northwest Syria
[Rudaw] The United States military said on Saturday it killed a big shot of the al-Qaeda affiliate Hurras al-Din (HaD) in a precision Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in northwest Syria.

"On Feb. 23, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted a precision airstrike in Northwest Syria, targeting and killing Muhammed Yusuf Ziya Talay, the senior military leader of the terrorist organization Hurras al-Din (HaD), an al-Qaeda affiliate," read a statement from CENTCOM.

"The airstrike is part of CENTCOM's ongoing commitment, along with partners in the region, to disrupt and degrade efforts by faceless myrmidons to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against civilians and military personnel from the U.S., our allies, and our partners throughout the region and beyond," it added.

Hurras al-Din, or Guardians of Religion, broke away from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

’s regime and established a transitional government. The two groups have vied for influence and territory though efforts have been made to reconcile their differences.

"As we have said in the past, we will continue to relentlessly pursue these faceless myrmidons in order to defend our homeland, and U.S., allied, and partner personnel in the region," said CENTCOM commander General Michael Erik Kurilla.

This is the second US airstrike against Hurras al-Din in recent weeks. On February 21, CENTCOM forces killed Wasim Tahsin Bayraqdar, a big shotship member of the group
Since Hurras al-Din announced in late January that it was dissolving itself, US airstrikes have killed several of the group’s leaders, according to CENTCOM. After a rebel alliance led by radical Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham toppled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and took power in Damascus on December 8, Hurras al-Din said it no longer needed to exist.
