[Rudaw] Local residents in northern Duhok province on Wednesday reported heavy festivities between the Ottoman Turkish army and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), restricting freedom of movement and exacerbating mass displacement for the villagers.
"The bombardment was very intense," Fayeq Balavai, a resident in the Niheli area in Amedi district, told Rudaw on the phone. Videos sent to Rudaw verified the intensity of the bombardments and the festivities.
The citizen mentioned that the continuous fighting near their village has made life difficult, to the extent that "there is no life left, and our villages are becoming abandoned."
The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... began intensifying its decades-long war against the PKK, especially in Duhok province, last year with the goal of cutting the Kurdish gang off from its borders.
PKK’s enjugged Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out! leader Abdullah Ocalan called on the group to disarm and disband in late February, requesting them to take the struggle for Kurdish rights into the political sphere. Nevertheless, despite constantly showing rhetorical support, neither the Ottoman Turkish government nor the PKK has so far leaped towards actual peace.
The PKK has repeatedly stated it is unable to dissolve fully without Ocalan's attendance at an official congress to ratify such a decision.
Ocalan’s message sparked hope for an end to the conflict that has taken 40,000 lives.
The Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT), a human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... organization monitoring the conflict, noted in its early March report that the "Ottoman Turkish government has made no comment about how Turkey would support a grinding of the peace processor and the reintegration of PKK members."
The Kurdistan Region has long been a battleground for settling scores between Turkey and the PKK. As of March, the conflict has caused the "full or partial" displacement of 1,190 villages and claimed 721 civilian lives, according to CPT.
[Rudaw] The Kurdistan Region Presidency said on Wednesday that it strongly condemns the axe attack on Assyrian Christians celebrating Akitu - the Assyrian-Babylonian New Year - in Duhok province that injured two the day prior.
An axe attack targeted Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac Christian celebrants gathered in Duhok city on Tuesday to celebrate Akitu. The assailant, reportedly a Syrian national, injured a young man and an elderly woman from Nineveh province who had come to Duhok to partake in the festivities.
"While strongly condemning this crime, we assure all Kurdistanis that the Kurdistan Region, as always, will remain a homeland of coexistence, peace, and stability for all its components, and in no way will it allow the disruption of the culture of coexistence, mutual acceptance, and tolerance. The criminal will face legal punishment," the Kurdistan Region Presidency said in a statement.
The presidency noted that it remains in contact with relevant authorities to uncover the circumstances behind the "criminal attack."
On Tuesday night, the Kurdistan Region Security Council said the attacker shared the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. "A person with terrorist beliefs sharing the ISIS ideology attacked citizens with a sharp tool in the bazaar," it said in a statement, adding that the assailant is a Syrian national.
Videos verified by Rudaw English show the assailant shouting "Islamic State!" after being tackled and disarmed by Assyrian Christians in the celebration.
He was then arrested by Kurdish security forces (Asayish) and the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Celebrations of Akitu - which take place on April 1 - are largely centered on the Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac community’s ancestral homeland of the Nineveh Plains and Duhok.
[Rudaw] The Iraqi government recently repatriated some 700 nationals linked to the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. (ISIS) from the Kurdish-held al-Hol camp in northeast Syria (Rojava), a spokesperson told Rudaw on Wednesday.
"The returned persons comprise 168 families, or 681 individuals," said Ali Abbas, the spokesperson for Iraq’s migration and displaced ministry.
The repatriation took place on Saturday, marking Iraq’s 24th batch of nationals from the notorious camp.
However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable... the Iraqi government has not yet disclosed the total number of individuals returned from al-Hol, nor the exact figure of Iraqi nationals still residing there.
Abbas estimates that around 16,000 Iraqis remain in the camp, while Saad al-Jayashi, an advisor at the Iraqi National Security Advisory, told Rudaw late last month that the number is more than 14,000.
Iraqis and Syrians make up the majority of the 40,000 ISIS-linked individuals being held at the camp, which has been branded as a breeding ground for terrorism.
[IsraelTimes] Some 19 Gazans with German citizenship and their immediate family members left Gaza today, the German foreign ministry says.
The Gazans entered Israel through the Kerem Shalom border crossing, Berlin says, adding that they flew on a charter flight from “an airport in southern Israel” — likely Ramon International Airport north of Eilat — to Germany.
The departure was arranged with the “close cooperation” of Israel, says Germany.
[IsraelTimes] US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has instructed US diplomats to scrutinize visa applicants’ social media for criticism of the US and Israel, The New York Times reports.
Rubio’s directive, issued March 25, follows an executive order signed by US President Donald Trump in January requiring the US government to ensure that foreign nationals “not bear hostile attitudes toward its citizens, culture, government, institutions, or founding principles, and do not advocate for, aid, or support designated foreign terrorists and other threats to our national security.”
Rubio told reporters last Thursday that since taking office in late January, he estimates that he has revoked at least 300 visas, many of them for students.
[IsraelTimes] The United States has imposed sanctions on Russia-based people and entities working to help procure weapons and commodities — including stolen Ukrainian grain — for Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis, the Treasury Department says.
The operatives, who included Russia-based Afghan businessman Hushang Ghairat and his brother, Russia-based Afghan businessman Sohrab Ghairat, helped senior Houthi official Sa’id al-Jamal, procure millions of dollars’ worth of commodities from Russia for shipment to Houthi-controlled Yemen, Treasury says.
The goods included weapons and sensitive goods, as well as stolen Ukrainian grain, the department says in a statement.
“The Houthis remain reliant on Sa’id al-Jamal and his network to procure critical goods to supply the group’s terrorist war machine,” says Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. “Today’s action underscores our commitment to degrading the Houthis’ ability to threaten the region through their destabilizing activities.”
[IsraelTimes] The Palestinian Authority health ministry says that one man was killed during a raid in the West Bank by Israel’s military, which did not confirm the killing.
“The young man, Hamza Muhammad Saeed Khammash (33 years old), was shot and killed by occupation (Israeli) forces in the Old City of Nablus,” the ministry says in a statement.
Contacted by AFP, the Israeli military says “the incident is under review.”
Official Palestinian news agency Wafa reports that Israeli forces arrested three people, including Khammash’s brother during the raid.
An AFP journalist reports that hundreds of Palestinians marched through the narrow streets of Nablus’s Old City for Khammash’s funeral earlier today.
Khammash’s body was covered in a Palestinian flag and his head wrapped in a keffiyeh scarf as men carried him through the streets ahead of crying relatives including his mother.
Since the start of the Gaza war, violence has soared in the West Bank.
Israeli troops or settler attacks have killed at least 915 Palestinians in the West Bank since then, according to the PA health ministry, which does not differentiate between civilians and combatants. Israel is in the midst of a months-long counter terror campaign in the West Bank.
Palestinian attacks and clashes during military raids have killed at least 32 Israelis, including soldiers, over the same period, according to official figures.
[IsraelTimes] Hamas has rejected the latest Israeli proposal for the release of hostages and a truce in, two officials from the Palestinian terror movement tell AFP.
“Hamas has decided not to follow up on the latest Israeli proposal presented through the mediators” says one of the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, and accusing Israel of “blocking a proposal from Egypt and Qatar and trying to derail any agreement.”
[ShabelleMedia] The Federal Government of Somalia, in collaboration with U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), has successfully executed an Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... against ISIS holy warriors.
The airstrike conducted today by AFRICOM focused on ISIS members and leaders who were congregating in the southeastern area of Bosasso ...Puntland's major (maybe only) port, population about 250,000, most of them shady characters who hang around waterfront dives and carry knives and brass knuckles... , Puntland ...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion... This operation bolsters the efforts of Puntland Darwish forces to eliminate terrorist groups particularly ISIS in the region.
Preliminary evaluations suggest that multiple ISIS fighters were neutralized, with no reported civilian casualties.
The Federal Government of Somalia, supported by international partners like AFRICOM, remains committed to combating ISIS and al-Shabaab ... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa... , which pose significant threats to both national and global security.
[KhaamaPress] Germany’s Interior Minister, Nancy Faeser, has claimed that the country’s efforts to combat illegal immigration have been successful. Faeser stated that these efforts have led to an increase in the number of deportations and a significant reduction in asylum requests.
Over the past two years, asylum applications in Germany have halved, while the number of individuals who were illegally residing in the country and subsequently deported has risen by 55%. This demonstrates a marked shift in Germany’s approach to managing migration.
Additionally, Faeser highlighted a 77% increase in the number of skilled workers migrating to Germany legally. She emphasized that Germany has become more attractive to talented and qualified workers from around the world, helping to address labor shortages in various sectors.
Migration has remained a hot topic in Germany, particularly during the election campaigns and post-election period. The ongoing debate about immigration policy has been central to discussions in the country’s political circles.
Friedrich Merz, the likely next Chancellor of Germany, pledged during his election campaign to take a stricter stance at the borders, particularly against individuals lacking valid documentation. His party won the general elections on February 23, securing 28.5% of the vote and earning the right to form a government.
Germany has become a key destination for many Afghans fleeing the country due to security concerns or the hope for a better future for themselves and their children. However, the violent behavior of a small number of Afghan refugees in Germany has led to a decrease in the chances of Afghan refugees being accepted in the country.
Germany’s approach to immigration, particularly its efforts to reduce illegal immigration while attracting skilled labor, reflects a balancing act between security concerns and economic needs. As political leaders continue to address these issues, the outcome will shape Germany’s future immigration policies.
The discussion on Afghanistan refugees highlights the complexities involved in immigration management, especially when it comes to ensuring safety while upholding humanitarian commitments. With upcoming political changes, Germany’s immigration policies are likely to evolve further in response to both internal and external pressures.
[Garowe] Scores of the al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... holy warriors have been killed on various frontlines for the last 48 hours, with the government of Somalia investing more in the elimination of the group which is fighting to topple the fragile UN-backed federal administration.
The operations carried out in Middle and Lower Shabelle resulted in the death of over 70 holy warriors, with security forces also managing to seize weapons and equipment used by the holy warriors on the frontlines.
At the Cabdulle-Barbaar area, near Ciid-Ciid in the Mahadaay district, the government forces coordinated attacks that led to the elimination of seven fighters. During the battle, six rifles, a Fekon cycle of violence, and other military supplies were recovered.
Elsewhere, the forces simultaneously carried operations in Sabiid and Caanoole, in Lower Shabelle, resulting in the deaths of over 30 holy warriors. The towns are key targets of the al-Shabaab holy warriors who are dominant in the region.
Additionally, Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s near Raage Ceelle in Middle Shabelle eliminated more than 40 holy warriors, with one of their military vehicles destroyed. The operation comes after a month of havoc when the holy warriors took advantage of Ramadhan.
The Ministry of Defence spokesperson Sheikh Abuukar Mohammed confirmed that the operations are a part of a broader strategy to weaken holy warrior networks and enhance national security.
"These operations are crucial in dismantling terrorist strongholds and preventing further destabilization in Somalia," he said.
The government of Somalia has been working closely with international partners in fighting the group with the US Africa Command and the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) contributing significantly to the operations.
[Garowe] The Somali National Army (SNA) with the help of Jubaland regional forces conducted joint military operations in southern regions, targeting key al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... hideouts within the vast lands of the state which is struggling to contain the group.
At Lower Jubba, the military officers and their local counterparts managed to destroy crucial checkpoints used by the al-Shabaab during Ramadan to collect Zakatul Fitr—an obligatory alms payment during Ramadan—from local civilians.
Al-Shabaab made significant losses but the exact number of casualties would not be established — but key hideouts were destroyed as the military took over. Traditionally, al-Shabaab takes advantage of Ramadhan to extort locals besides hitting military installations.
Lower Juba remains one of the regions where al-Shabaab retains a foothold, and it frequently sees festivities and counterterror operations by federal and Jubbaland forces. Early this year, the Jubaland forces and federal troops clashed in Raskamboni.
But the latest joint operations signify improved relationship between the federal and regional forces, perhaps coinciding with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s clarion call over the weekend.
During Eid al-Fitr celebrations on Saturday night, President Mohamud emphasized that defeating al-Shabaab requires broad political consensus and unity. He thanked politicians for prioritizing the nation’s unity and called for their inclusion in both security and state-building efforts.
"I am opening the door to politicians and community leaders so that their views and efforts can be part of the fight against the Khawarij and the establishment of a modern state based on democracy and a federal system, operating within our constitution and laws," the President said. "We welcome all good ideas to preserve our unity."
His sentiments have been backed by opposition leaders led by former presidents Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed alias Farmajo, who insisted national dialogue would cure the disconnect in the al-Shabaab war.
[IsraelTimes] Israeli jets target runways, fuel depots and radars at Hama military airport and T-4 airbase, are said to also strike scientific research center linked to chemical weapons
u
The Israel Defense Forces on Wednesday night confirmed launching a series of Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s in Syria, saying it struck "remaining military capabilities" at the Hama military airport and T-4 airbase.
The strikes targeted the runways, fuel depots and radars at the airbases, according to military sources.
Israeli Air Force aircraft also struck "military infrastructure" in the Damascus area, the IDF said.
According to Syrian media, the Barzeh scientific research center just outside Damascus — which has been linked to the former Syrian regime’s chemical weapons
...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented... program — was hit.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based monitor of unclear funding, later reported that "four people were killed and others maimed, including Syrian defense ministry personnel, in the strikes on Hama military airport."
It said those raids, which targeted "remaining planes, runways and towers, put the airport completely out of service."
The Syrian foreign ministry later denounced the Israeli strikes. "In a blatant violation of international law and Syrian illusory sovereignty, Israeli forces launched airstrikes on five locations across the country," it said in a statement on Telegram.
"This unjustified escalation is a deliberate attempt to destabilize Syria and exacerbate the suffering of its people."
The ministry said the strikes resulted in the "near-total destruction" of a military airport in central Syrian province Hama, injuring dozens of civilians and soldiers.
It also said the strikes came as the country is trying to rebuild after 14 years of war, calling it a strategy to "normalize violence within the country."
Authorities in south Syria’s Daraa on Telegram late Wednesday said that several Israeli military vehicles entered an area in the province’s west, reporting that "three (Israeli) artillery shells" targeted the area.
ENTRY OF DRUZE WORKERS CANCELLED AT LAST MINUTE
Also Wednesday, Kan reported that the planned entry of Syrian Druze workers into Israel was cancelled in a last-minute decision by Israel’s political echelon.
No reason has been reported as to why the decision was made.
Last month, Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israel would allow Syrian Druze to enter the country for work in the wake of Assad’s fall.
Preparations were made to carry out the initiative, with plans drawn up by Maj. Gen. Ghassan Alian, who heads the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, and who is Druze himself.
In theory they could be civilians instead of hard boys in mufti — there’s no way of knowing.
It says in a statement posted to Telegram that the shelling near the Syrian city of Nawa came after “an Israeli incursion” in the area. It says that this was the deepest into Syria that Israeli forces have advanced thus far.
Nawa is located some 9 kilometers from Tasil, where the IDF says Israeli troops operated overnight.
The military said a short while ago that while in the southern Syrian town, located beyond the demilitarized buffer zone along the border, troops came under fire from several gunmen, and retaliated with both ground and aerial strikes.
The military says the troops, of the 474th Golan Regional Brigade, returned fire and “eliminated” several gunmen “on the ground and from the air.”
No soldiers were injured in the exchange, and the operation in the area was completed, the IDF adds.
Tasil is located some 13 kilometers from Israel’s border, outside of a demilitarized buffer zone along the Israel-Syrian border which the Israeli military moved into last December following the fall of the Assad regime.
It marks only the second incident in which IDF troops operating in southern Syria have come under fire since deploying to the buffer zone.
[IsraelTimes] Court refuses to weigh in on assertion that Zionism is core tenet of Judaism, saying doing so would be unconstitutional, but allows equal protection and civil rights claims
A US federal judge has said Jewish groups may pursue a lawsuit accusing the University of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Berkeley, of tolerating an "unrelenting" stream of antisemitic harassment toward Jewish students and faculty, in a decision made public on Tuesday.
US District Judge James Donato said two Jewish groups may pursue equal protection, free exercise of religion, and civil rights claims against school officials, including University of California President Michael Drake and former UC Berkeley chancellor Carol Christ.
Donato said the plaintiffs plausibly alleged that Jewish students and professors were treated differently at UC Berkeley because they are Jewish, and that the school was "deliberately indifferent to the on-campus harassment and hostile environment."
The plaintiffs had cited myriad instances, including an Israeli professor having her invitation to teach at the school revoked; protesters calling Israeli students "Talmudic devils"; and a student with a Star of David necklace being surrounded by masked protesters, who told him, "Zionists can go back to Europe."
At the same time, the the Socialist paradise of San Francisco ...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964... -based judge dismissed a contract-based claim surrounding student organizations’ bylaws prohibiting those who espouse Zionist beliefs.
He also, notably, declined to take up the plaintiff’s assertion that "Zionism is a central tenet of the Jewish faith," saying that for the court to weigh in on such a matter would raise "a serious constitutional problem," as it would involve weighing in on religious doctrine.
"It may be that the Court may properly determine whether Zionism is a sincerely held religious belief for some individuals, as circumstances might warrant, but the Court will not determine if it is a central tenet of Judaism," Donato wrote.
Lawyers for the defendants did not immediately respond on Wednesday to requests for comment.
The plaintiffs are the nonprofit Louis D. Brandeis Center and Jewish Americans for Fairness in Education, a nationwide group whose members include UC Berkeley staff and students.

The demonstrations frequently included open endorsements of violence and support for terror groups. They also sparked waves of arrests as well as some suspensions and expulsions, which many pro-Paleostinian groups have condemned as an attack on free speech.
Last month, US President Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... canceled $400 million of federal funding for Columbia University over its alleged failure to police antisemitism.
His administration also sent letters to 60 schools including UC Berkeley in March, warning of possible enforcement actions if they did not address antisemitic harassment and discrimination.
John Coghlan, a lawyer for plaintiffs in the UC Berkeley lawsuit, called Donato’s decision "an overwhelming victory" for his clients.
"We’re looking forward to continuing to fight for the Jewish community at Berkeley," he said in an interview. "To the extent there is greater momentum toward combating antisemitism, that helps our case."
[HodhodYemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... News] US warplanes launched a series of intensive Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s on several areas in Yemen, targeting the provinces of Sana’a, Hodeidah, Hajjah, and Saada.
A local source explained that the American enemy launched two airstrikes on Jabal al-Nabi Shuaib’ in the Bani Matar district in Sana’a province.
Earlier today, the aggression struck Jarban area in Sanhan district, Sana’a province, with five raids.
In Saada, the American enemy carried out 15 airstrikes at dawn on Saada city, the Takhyah area in the Majz district, and the Sahar district.
The strikes hit multiple locations in the southeast of Saada city and the Takhyah area in Majz district, as well as the Sahar district.
In Hodeidah, three US airstrikes targeted the Water Authority building in al-Mansuriyah district, southeast of the province, killing two and injuring several others among the institution’s staff.
In Hajjah, US warplanes carried out three airstrikes on Washah district, in the northwest of Yemen. The strikes targeted a healthcare center and a school in the area, according to local sources.
US airstrikes battered rebel-controlled areas of Yemen into Wednesday, with the Houthis saying that one strike killed at least four people near the Red Sea port city of Hodeida.
Meanwhile, satellite images taken Wednesday and analyzed by The Associated Press show at least six stealth B-2 Spirit bombers now stationed at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean — a highly unusual deployment, given the Yemen campaign and tensions with Iran.
The intense campaign of airstrikes in Yemen under US President Donald Trump, appears to show no signs of stopping, as the Trump administration again linked their airstrikes on the Iranian-backed Houthis to an effort to pressure Iran over its rapidly advancing nuclear program. While so far giving no specifics about the campaign and its targets, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt put the overall number of strikes on Tuesday at more than 200.
The Houthis have not acknowledged the loss of any of its leadership so far — and the US has not identified any official by name. However, messages released by the leak of a Signal conversation between Trump administration officials and their public comments suggest a leader in the rebels’ missile forces was targeted.
Overnight, a likely US airstrike targeted what the Houthis described as a “water project” in Hodeida governorate’s Mansuriyah District, killing four people and wounding others.
[HodhodYemenNews] The Health Ministry in Sana’a has confirmed that the death toll from the US-led aggression on Sana’a and other governorates since mid-March has reached 61 martyrs and 139 wounded.
This came in a statement issued by the ministry on Wednesday.
The ministry also stated that since Yemen began its support operation for Gaza, the US-British-Israeli aggression has left 964 civilian casualties, including 250 martyrs.
Since Yemen resumed its operations at sea and against occupied territories in response to the renewed Israeli aggression on Gaza, the United States has intensified its attacks on Yemen, conducting airstrikes on various governorates.
[HodhodYemenNews] The Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they had targeted several enemy warships in the Red Sea, including the US aircraft carrier USS Truman, marking the third military engagement within the past 24 hours. "We sunk it again!"
“In retaliation to the American aggression against our country, the naval, missile , and UAV forces of our armed forces targeted enemy warships in the Red Sea, led by the US aircraft carrier Truman, with a number of cruise missiles and drones in an ongoing engagement until the time of announcing this statement,” the Yemeni military spokesman General Yahya Sare’e said.
This is the third engagement in the past 24 hours, he added.
The rebels say they have continued to launch attacks against US warships in the Red Sea, namely the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, which is carrying out the majority of the strikes on the Houthis. No warship has been struck yet, but the US Navy has described the Houthi fire as the most intense combat its sailors have faced since World War II.
[IsraelTimes] IDF chief vows that ‘the only thing that can stop us from advancing is the release of our hostages,’ as troops launch new offensive, accompanied by heavy airstrikes
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that advancing IDF forces were carving out a new security corridor across southern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... that would likely cut off the city of Rafah from the rest of the Strip, as Israel seeks to pile pressure on Hamas ..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,... to free the hostages.
Israel is "shifting gears" in Gaza and creating a "second Philadelphi" route, Netanyahu said in a video message, referring to the corridor on the Gaza-Egypt border.
IDF forces are seizing the "Morag Corridor," said Netanyahu. The route, which separates Rafah from Khan Younis to its north, is located where the Israeli settlement of the same name once stood, before it was evacuated during Israel’s 2005 withdrawal from Gaza.
Netanyahu has made continued Israeli control of the Philadelphi Corridor a top priority in the ongoing ceasefire negotiations, insisting that an IDF withdrawal from the route would allow for the smuggling of weapons into the Strip. Nonetheless, he agreed as part of the January hostage deal to fully withdraw Israeli troops from the Philadelphi Corridor by the 50th day of the deal — a clause Israel has gone on to violate. Israeli troops remain in the corridor and have expanded their presence there as well.
Israel has also reasserted control over the Netzarim Corridor — also named for a former settlement — which cuts off the northern third of Gaza, including Gaza City, from the rest of the narrow coastal strip. Both of the existing corridors run from the Israeli border to the Mediterranean Sea.
The move is part of an escalating IDF military campaign to press Hamas into accepting Israeli terms for a ceasefire and hostage release deal, Netanyahu said.
Israel is pushing forward from the north and south, evacuating civilians toward central Gaza.
"We are now cutting off the Strip and we are increasing the pressure step by step... so they will give us our hostages. The longer they refuse to give them up, the more the pressure will increase until they do," Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu’s comments came as the IDF significantly stepped up its renewed offensive, deploying another division to the southern Gaza Strip early in the day and carrying out heavy Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s ahead of the major ground push into the area.
The reinforcements brought the number of divisions operating in Gaza to three.
The IDF said it hit over 50 sites belonging to Hamas and other terror groups overnight. During the day, dozens more strikes were carried out across Gaza.
Paleostinian reports said more than 40 people had been killed in the strikes, including 19 people in a UN clinic in Jabalia. The figures could not be verified. The IDF said it attacked a Hamas command center set up in the medical facility and had taken measures to limit civilian casualties.
Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's gun out of his hand...... two rockets were fired Wednesday evening from northern Gaza, triggering sirens in the Israeli city of Sderot, the IDF said. The projectiles were intercepted by air defenses, with no reports of injuries or damage in the attack.
Following the fire, the IDF issues an evacuation warning for Paleostinians in the Beit Hanoun and Jabalia area.
In a post on X, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man, Col. Avichay Adraee, publishes a map of the area that is to be evacuated, saying that it is a "final warning" before the IDF carries out strikes there.
The area between Rafah and Khan Younis is one of the few locations in Gaza where ground troops have not yet operated. The IDF issued evacuation warnings for Paleostinians in the area ahead of the offensive. Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's gun out of his hand...... in the Strip’s north, the IDF said it was also operating to expand its buffer zone along the border.
Later Wednesday, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar visited troops in the Tel Sultan neighborhood of Rafah.
During the visit, Zamir vowed that "the only thing that can stop us from advancing is the release of our hostages."
Bar, who is in the process of being fired by Netanyahu, repeated the message, saying that "Hamas will continue to pay the price as long as the 59 hostages are not returned."
The military reiterated that the ultimate goal of the new ground offensive in Rafah is to pressure Hamas to release the hostages.
Amid the IDF advances, Olga Cherevko, a spokesperson for the UN humanitarian aid office, said that more than 60 percent of Gaza is now considered a "no-go" zone because of Israeli evacuation orders.
Earlier Wednesday, Defense Minister Israel Katz said the offensive was aimed at seizing "extensive territory" in Gaza.
Troops will move to clear areas "of holy warriors and infrastructure, and capture extensive territory that will be added to the State of Israel’s security areas," Katz said in a statement.
The expanded ground operation came a couple of days after the IDF issued an evacuation warning for the entire Rafah area and a large swath of land between Rafah and Khan Younis.
It was the most significant evacuation order issued by the IDF since the offensive against Hamas resumed earlier this month, ending a two-month ceasefire. The orders came during Eid al-Fitr, a normally festive Moslem holiday marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
In his Wednesday statement, Katz also called on Gazooks "to act now to overthrow Hamas and return all the hostages."
Israel restarted intense bombing of Gaza on March 18 and then launched a new ground offensive, ending a nearly two-month ceasefire in the war with Hamas.
According to the terms of the January 19 ceasefire deal, the sides were to launch negotiations over the second phase a few weeks into the first, but Netanyahu refused to do so, insisting that the war would not end until Hamas’s governing and military capabilities had been demolished. Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's gun out of his hand...... Hamas rejected a series of offers to extend the first phase while continuing to gradually free hostages.

German immigration authorities ordered this group’s expulsion based on separate allegations tied to pro-Paleostinian demonstrations, including a sit-in at the Berlin central train station, a road blockade and the occupation of a building at the Free University, according to information obtained by the left-wing news organization The Intercept.
The deportation orders say that two of the protesters called a police officer "fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... " — insulting an officer is illegal in Germany — and three demonstrated with groups that chanted "from the river to the sea, Paleostine will be free," a slogan the country outlawed last year as antisemitic. All of them are also accused of "indirectly" supporting Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... and pro-Hamas organizations in Europe.
They have been given a deadline of April 21 to leave Germany or be forcibly deported.
None of them has been convicted of a crime. A conviction is not required for deportation under German law, but authorities are still expected to provide justifications proportional to the punishment.
As part of this reasoning, three of the deportation orders reference Germany’s "Staatsräson," or "reason of state."
According to this doctrine, which weighs heavily on German politics, the history of the Holocaust makes it imperative for Germany to defend Israel as a justification for its own existence.
But Staatsräson is not typically used in legal settings. Lawyer Thomas Oberhäuser, who is not involved in the cases, told The Intercept that invoking the principle for deportation proceedings was "impermissible under constitutional law."
German authorities moved to deport the four residents on the backdrop of tightening immigration restrictions pushed by the interior ministry of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s outgoing government.
The center-right victor in Germany’s recent elections, Friedrich Merz, promised a radical crackdown on migration during his campaign, proposing that all undocumented foreigners be turned away at the border.
Alexander Gorski, a lawyer who represents two of the people facing deportation, compared his clients’ cases to the arrests and deportation of pro-Paleostinian activists in the United States, especially those tied to protests at universities.
"From a legal perspective, we were alarmed by the reasoning, which reminded us of the case of Mahmoud Khalil," Gorski said to The Intercept.
Khalil, a recent Columbia University graduate and anti-Israel activist who holds a green card, was arrested by ICE in March and is being held in a Louisiana detention facility.
The case has drawn attention as a test of free speech rights, with supporters of Khalil saying he was targeted for publicly disagreeing with US policy on Israel and its military actions in Gazoo

In a court brief earlier this week, the US government alleged that Khalil withheld that he worked for UNRWA, a UN Paleostinian relief agency, in his visa application, saying that this should be grounds for deportation.
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says troops of the Kfir Brigade operating in the West Bank city of Tulkarem located a bomb-making lab.
The lab was being used to build makeshift roadside explosive devices as well as pipe bombs, according to the military.
In a separate operation, the IDF says troops of the Commando Brigade and Nahal Brigade and Shin Bet agents detained 12 wanted Palestinians in the towns of Qabatiya and Tammun.
A further 15 wanted Palestinians were detained elsewhere in the West Bank overnight, the IDF adds.
[IsraelTimes] Research says 87% of opinion pieces about Israel in country’s two leading news outlets speak negatively about the Jewish state, and 30% of those about Jews use antisemitic tropes
Egypt’s state-controlled media is overwhelmingly hostile to Israel and features rampant antisemitism, with 87 percent of opinion articles about Israel in the country’s two leading news outlets speaking negatively about the Jewish state, according to a new study.
The research, which used artificial intelligence to analyze 4,000 opinion and commentary articles from the al-Ahram and al-Gomhuria newspapers published between January 2024 and March 2025, found that 29% of articles mentioning Jews contained antisemitic content, according to the report by the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI).
The report sought to examine how Egyptian media shapes public perceptions of Israel during the ongoing war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... "These findings weren’t surprising," a member of the research team that conducted the study told The Times of Israel. "There is a very tense situation right now in which the Egyptians have been amassing military forces in the Sinai, in violation of the Camp David Accords. Last week, for the 46th anniversary of the signing of that peace treaty, there was absolutely no commemoration on the Israeli or Egyptian side. It’s just another example of how, unfortunately, the peace between Israel and Egypt never trickled down to civil society."
Of items that mentioned Israel, 70% expressed "very negative" sentiments, 12.5% were "negative," and 4.5% were "somewhat negative," as scored based on keywords used in the articles. Only 12.5% were categorized as "neutral," and less than 1% were classified as "positive," the study found.
Many articles portrayed Israel as a "colonialist entity," "the Zionist enemy," or "a cancerous plague," while accusing it of seeking regional expansion and the displacement of Paleostinians, the report said.
Of 180 opinion and commentary articles tagged as referencing the Jews, 30% were found to be explicitly antisemitic, using stereotypes such as Jewish greed, referencing "The Elders of Zion," depicting Jews as disloyal and traitorous, and denying the Holocaust, the report said.
Examples include an article in al-Gomhuria from February 2025 claiming that Jews "control" global powers using their financial influence and that they will be responsible for triggering a third world war in their quest for wealth.
Another article published in al-Ahram in October 2024 described Israel as an embodiment of evil and asserted that the "Zionist entity" seeks to implement the plans outlined in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion to establish a state spanning from the Nile to the Euphrates.
These findings indicate that Egypt’s state-controlled media devotes disproportionate attention to Israel and is overwhelmingly hostile toward it, the report concluded.
[IsraelTimes] The US imposes new sanctions on entities and individuals in Iran, the United Arab Emirates and China whom it accuses of being part of an Iranian weapons procurement network, as US President Donald Trump seeks to ramp up pressure on Tehran.
The US Treasury Department announces sanctions on six entities and two individuals in action taken in coordination with the Department of Justice, accusing them of responsibility for procurement of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) components on behalf of a leading manufacturer for Iran’s drone program.
“Iran’s proliferation of UAVs and missiles – both to its terrorist proxies in the region and to Russia for its use against Ukraine – continues to threaten civilians, US personnel, and our allies and partners,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says in a statement.
“Treasury will continue to disrupt Iran’s military-industrial complex and its proliferation of UAVs, missiles and conventional weapons that often end up in the hands of destabilizing actors, including terrorist proxies.”
Iran’s mission to the United Nations in New York does not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The action targets one Iranian-based entity and two people based in Iran, one entity based in China and four UAE-based entities, according to the Treasury statement.
The Treasury says it is the second round of sanctions targeting “Iranian weapons proliferators” since Trump restored his “maximum pressure” campaign on Iran, which includes efforts to drive its oil exports down to zero to help prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.
[IsraelTimes] IDF and Shin Bet credit Operation Iron Wall for decline in Palestinian terrorism; only 3 attacks reported this year compared to last year’s 27
There was a significant decrease in terror attacks in the West Bank this Ramadan compared to last year, according to a joint statement released by IDF and Shin Bet on Wednesday.
Ramadan 2024 saw 27 major attacks originating from the West Bank, while this year, only three occurred, marking an 80 percent drop, the statement said.
The IDF and Shin Bet attributed this downturn to intensified security efforts and counterterrorism operations, particularly in the northern West Bank. The offensive, dubbed Operation Iron Wall, was launched on January 21.
The security forces said they arrested 401 wanted suspects, eliminated 13 terrorists, and seized 105 weapons during Ramadan this year.
Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, is observed by Moslems worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community, commemorating the first revelation of the Koran to the Prophet Muhammad.
This year, Ramadan lasted from February 27 to March 29. The month’s end is determined by the sighting of the crescent moon, marking the beginning of the Moslem holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which was celebrated this week.
This Ramadan marked the second one since Hamas ..always the voice of sweet reason... ’s October 7, 2023, onslaught, which triggered a multifront war.
In recent years, Ramadan has often served as a flashpoint for existing tensions between Israelis and Paleostinians, sometimes leading to violent mostly peaceful escalations, most notably in 2021 during a previous Israel-Hamas round of fighting known as Operation Guardian of the Walls.
That military campaign against Hamas in Gazoo

The collapse of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas last month, in the middle of Ramadan, sparked fears of a similar escalation. However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... these fears did not come to fruition.
Along with increased security measures in the West Bank, law enforcement bodies were also on high alert in Jerusalem during the Moslem holy month. The Old City was under heavy police presence as some 90,000 worshipers reportedly attended prayer services at the al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount.
Despite the decrease in terror activity, tensions in the West Bank remain high..
Settler violence against Paleostinians has been on the rise. On Tuesday, a group of some 50 Israelis attacked homes in the northern West Bank village of Duma, with three Paleostinians reportedly injured as the settlers torched property and assaulted residents.
Additionally, it was reported in February that tens of thousands of Paleostinians had fled Israeli military operations across the northern West Bank — allegedly the largest displacement in the territory since the Six Day War in 1967.
The IDF and Shin Bet emphasized that counterterrorism efforts will persist to prevent further threats.
[IsraelTimes] White House hasn’t ruled out Omani mediation, though it prefers direct talks; meanwhile, US building up forces to establish deterrence, option to strike Iran if diplomacy fails.
The White House is seriously considering Iran’s proposal for indirect nuclear talks, while also significantly increasing American forces in the Middle East in case US President Donald Trump ...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party... chooses to conduct military strikes on its nuclear sites, a report said Wednesday.
The report by the Axios news site, which cited two unnamed US officials, comes amid an exchange of public remarks and threats between the US and Iran, as well as private correspondence, regarding the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s nuclear program, with Trump offering a two-month window for talks in a letter to Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. On Sunday, Trump threatened, "If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing," adding: "It will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before."
The US has recently moved stealth bombers and an additional aircraft carrier into the Middle East and Indian Ocean, in striking distance of both Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... s — and Iran itself.
The US president over the weekend received Iran’s formal response to his letter, Axios reported, citing one US official who said the White House believes direct negotiations would have a greater chance of success, but hasn’t ruled out indirect talks.
Both officials were cited as saying no final decision has been made, with one telling the outlet: "After the exchange of letters, we are now exploring next steps in order to begin conversations and trust building with the Iranians."
The administration is split between some officials who think a deal can be reached, and others who think talks would be a waste of time and are advocating strikes, the report claimed.
For now, a US official told Axios that Trump doesn’t want war with Iran, but wants military assets in the region for the sake of deterrence and to maintain the option of action if diplomacy fails and the situation escalates quickly.
During his first presidential term, Trump withdrew the US from a 2015 deal between Iran and world powers that placed strict limits on Tehran’s disputed nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief. He also reimposed sweeping US sanctions, in a "maximum pressure" campaign he has renewed upon his return to office.
Iran, which is sworn to Israel’s destruction, denies seeking a nuclear weapon, but it has ramped up its enrichment of uranium up to 60 percent purity, the only country in the world without a nuclear weapons program to do so, and has obstructed international inspectors from checking its nuclear facilities.
Iran has twice in the past year fired large barrages of missiles and drones at Israel in support of its terror proxies Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... , Hezbollah and the Houthis in Yemen.
In response, Israel struck Iranian facilities, including missile factories and air defenses. That reduced Tehran’s conventional military capabilities, according to analysts and US officials, an assessment disputed by Tehran.

Intentionally praying on the Temple Mount while in a state of ritual impurity should be a concern to not just Haredi but to other Orthodox groups as well.

[HotAir] Yesterday the University of Pittsburgh suspended the school's chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). The suspension was in response to a protest the group carried out a protest at the school library in December.
Following a study-in organized by students at Hillman Library during the last week of the fall semester, the Office of Student Conduct is requiring SJP to complete a conduct hearing. As the only registered Palestine advocacy club at Pitt, potential sanctions may throw the future of pro-Palestinian organizing on campus into question...
At the study-in, students surrounded themselves with Palestinian flags, keffiyehs and signs with messages such as “hands off Palestine” and “there are no universities left in Gaza” while studying at tables...
The Office of Student Conduct alleged that SJP “promoted and hosted an event” in a non-reservable part of the library, according to the incident description provided to SJP by the office. Posts from SJP’s Instagram at the time attribute the gathering to “autonomous student activists.” A club co-president said SJP did not organize this gathering and only made these posts to “amplify” the study-in.
This is the sort of legal fiction that groups like this often seek to create when breaking the rules: It wasn't us it was an autonomous collective of students who happen to be members in our group.
In this case it didn't work. The SJP chapter was called in for a disciplinary meeting and given an interim suspension on March 18. While that suspension was in place, the group then hosted an event marching across the campus.
A group of pro-Palestinian protesters defied an order from their university to stop holding events when they held a march across the University of Pittsburgh campus on Saturday.
Pitt placed Students for Justice in Palestine on interim suspension this past week, saying members of their group improperly communicated with members of the university conduct hearing board. As part of the suspension, they would not be allowed to hold events.
This is not the only school that has recently suspended an SJP chapter. UCLA banned its chapter of the group last week over a protest at the home of a UC Regent.
The UCLA groups were under interim suspensions since Feb. 12, when Chancellor Julio Frenk announced the restrictions in a campuswide message, citing “violence” during a Feb. 5 action at the home of UC Regent Jay Sures.
“No one should ever fear for their safety. Without the basic feeling of safety, humans cannot learn, teach, work and live — much less thrive and flourish. This is true no matter what group you are a member of — or which identities you hold. There is no place for violence in our Bruin community,” Frenk’s letter said.
At the time, the student groups replied via Instagram statements, saying they rejected “Frenk’s accusations that student protesters have committed violence against the UCLA community.”
Sures, vice chairman at United Talent Agency, said he was targeted because he is Jewish. In addition to photos that showed his property vandalized with red blood-like handprints, there was video of protesters briefly surrounding Sures’ wife in her car as she tried to drive to work.
UCLA is not the first UC campus to ban the group.
UCLA joins several other UC campuses and others throughout the country that have banned or suspended Students for Justice in Palestine, including UC Irvine, UC San Diego and UC Santa Cruz.
Other schools across the country have also been banning or suspending the group including the University of Michigan, Tufts, Brown, Rutgers and Swarthmore. This group is wearing out its welcome and that's good news because this group is clearly pro-Hamas and is willing to break school rules/laws in order to promote its cause.

The genesis of the SJP was the Muslim Students Association, which was quite active in the 1990s. Their internet input seems to have disappeared, but would be worthy of study for any Political Science Ph.D. candidate.
[KhaamaPress] Five individuals will stand trial in Bulgaria for their involvement in the deaths of 18 Afghan refugees, who suffocated in a truck.
The Bulgarian government has announced that the Sofia Prosecutor’s Office will put five individuals on trial for their involvement in an organized criminal group, human trafficking, and the death of 18 Afghan refugees in 2023.
According to the Bulgarian News Agency, on Tuesday, April 1, two of the accused witnesses testified that the Afghan refugees could not breathe properly due to "excessive pressure from each other."
The report stated that despite noticing the issue, the accused continued to close the truck doors and kept driving.
The prosecutor’s office further reported that the refugees died from "suffocation in an extremely painful condition."
The press center of Sofia added that the trial date has yet to be set.
This action follows the discovery of the bodies of 18 refugees found in a truck near the village of Lukorsko, 16 kilometers from Sofia, in early February 2023.
It was reported that over 50 people had been hiding in a secret compartment under a pile of wood in the truck. The bodies of these refugees were transferred from Sofia to Kabul several months later, in June 2023.
[KhaamaPress] Pakistain has started deporting Afghan migrants colonists after the March 31 deadline, with no extension granted for voluntary departure.
The Pak government has begun deporting Afghans living in the country without legal documents, starting today, Tuesday, April 1st, after the deadline for voluntary departure expired.
Pak media reports that after the expiration of this deadline, the process of deporting Afghan migrants colonists has formally begun. Despite widespread concerns, international organizations and human rights ...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state... groups had urged the government to extend this deadline.
Geo News reported on Tuesday, April 1st, that officials in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province confirmed the operation to expel Afghan migrants colonists will proceed without extending the previous deadline.
From the morning of Tuesday, April 1, reports from major cities in Pakistain, including Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
, Lahore, Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistain's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire... , and Islamabad, indicated the start of security forces’ operations to identify and detain illegal migrants colonists.
Illegal Afghan migrants colonists, after being arrested, are transferred to temporary centers and then deported through border crossings to Afghanistan. Eyewitnesses report that police and security forces are conducting patrols in areas with large migrant populations and carrying out house-to-house inspections.
The United Nations ...the Oyster Bay money pit... , through the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), has repeatedly warned about the humanitarian consequences of these deportations.
These organizations have assessed that many Afghan migrants colonists, who fled to Pakistain after the Taliban ...Arabic for students... ’s takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021, face serious risks such as harassment, insecurity, and lack of basic necessities if returned to their home country.
Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have also criticized the forced deportations, arguing they violate international laws, particularly the principle of "Non-Refoulement." Amnesty has called on Pakistain to halt this process.
[DW] The number of violent mostly peaceful crimes in Germany increased in 2024 with a sharp increase in rapes and sexual assaults. A surge in the number of child offenders was also noted, and crimes by foreigners were also up.
Interior Minister Nancy Faeser on Wednesday described a steep rise in sexual violence as "very worrying" as she presented Germany's latest crime statisticsin Berlin.
The statistics compiled for 2024 also showed there had been a steep increase in violent mostly peaceful acts committed by young people, particularly those still classed as children.
HOW DO GERMANY'S CRIME FIGURES STACK UP?
The report said the statistics gave "cause for concern overall."
Although the number of registered crimes fell by 1.7% to nearly 6 million cases last year compared to 2023, the development was largely attributed to the partial legalization of cannabis last April.
"Violent crime, however, increased by 1.5%," the report said. "With more than 217,000 violent mostly peaceful crimes nationwide, it reached its highest level since 2007."
The statistics showed a total of 13,320 cases of rape and sexual assault for 2024 — an increase of 9.3% compared to the previous year.
Of the 11,329 suspects identified in such crimes, 6,892 were German citizens and just over a third, 4,437, were non-German suspects.
According to the figures, the number of child suspects in violent mostly peaceful crimes increased by 11.3%, and among juveniles by 3.8%. Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) chief Holger Munch and Faeser cited psychological stress caused by the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... pandemic as the main reason for this.
WHAT DID FAESER SAY ABOUT VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN?
Faeser said Germany's expected incoming conservative-led government must focus on protecting women, with more prosecutions and greater use of electronic monitoring.
"We need a stronger protection and support system for women," said the center-left Social Democrat politician. "And we finally need electronic ankle bracelets so that perpetrators can no longer approach threatened women unnoticed. Protecting women from violence must also be a central task for the next federal government."
Faeser noted that more than a third of the suspects in such cases did not have German citizenship. "This is not just about consistent prosecution but also about consistent deportations.
"To this end, we have tightened our laws. The number of deportations is 55% higher today than two years ago. This is how we enforce our law," Faeser said.
What is Germany doing to tackle the rise in violent mostly peaceful crime?
Faeser said the legal system must take "tough action" against violent mostly peaceful offenders, and highlighted Germany's introduction of a ban on knives at public events.
"The knife bans we have introduced now apply to public events, festivals, public transport, and many other places — and can be checked and enforced without cause. Knives have no place in public," she said.
Police chief Munch said the increase in violent mostly peaceful crime was part of a trend, having now reached a record high. He also addressed the rise in violent mostly peaceful crime among young people.
"The sharp increase among children and adolescents is particularly striking. Continued stress as a result of the coronavirus measures is a possible driver of delinquency, especially among this age group. However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster... research is needed to better understand the causes of this development and to effectively counteract it."
Ulrich Mäurer, interior minister of the city-state of Bremen who also presented the report, said "consistent law enforcement and effective preventive measures" were needed.
UPTICK IN CRIMES BY NON-GERMANS
"Nationwide networking between security, health, and, where appropriate, immigration and weapons authorities must be ensured," he said.
Measured against the proportion of the total population, the police recorded a four-times higher proportion of foreigners among suspects in violent mostly peaceful crimes; across all crimes, this proportion was almost three times higher.
Across all crimes, the proportion was 41.8% in 2024 — 0.7% points higher than in 2023 and almost twice as high as in 2010.
BKA chief Munch attributed this to the high proportion of young men among foreigners — a group that is generally more likely to commit violent mostly peaceful offenses than older people and women. In addition, experiences of violence and psychological stress in the country of origin often played a role.
"Migration management is enormously important in order to be able to control this problem at all," said Munch.
WAS THERE A REAL FALL IN OVERALL CRIME?
While wider crime figures for 2024, including non-violent mostly peaceful offenses, showed a dip, this was deemed to have been due to the partial legalization of the possession and cultivation of cannabis.
"Without this change in the law, there would have been stagnation," said police chief Munch.
On the issue of drugs, Munch pointed to the changing narcotics market with more drug-related deaths, "a flood of cocaine," and more synthetic drugs. "This development is worrying," he said.
[ConservativeTreehouse] The response from the EU is exactly what we would expect to see from the end of the 80-year-old Marshal Plan.
EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyden has three big concerns with the new trade/tariff reset. I strongly suggest everyone to read the EU concerns slowly to fully absorb decades of hypocrisy now surfacing:
#1 The EU will not be able to compete for U.S. market share with 20% general tariffs and 25% auto tariffs.
#2 The EU must deploy countermeasures against the risk of losing industrial capacity and manufacturing to the United States.
And #3 The EU must defend itself against China dumping cheap products into the EU now rejected by the USA.
von der Leyen is concerned mostly about the extremely valuable U.S. consumer being leveraged by President Trump, essentially blocking exploitation from EU and Asia. The EU will not tolerate losing access to the most valuable customers in the world, Americans.
Showcasing the mindset, Ursula von der Leyen vows to take all action needed to retain U.S. customers, even if those customers no longer want her products. The USA will allow Europe access, or there will be hell to pay. I must say this is quite funny.
(Via Politico) [...] Von der Leyen said Trump’s tariffs would have dire consequences for consumers and businesses that have prospered through trade with the United States since World War Two.
[...] The EU chief executive said the bloc would ready countermeasures against Trump’s latest tariff broadside, in addition to a €26 billion package responding to tariffs he has already imposed on steel and aluminum. At the same time, she vowed, Brussels will work to protect the industries most exposed.
"We are already finalizing the first package of countermeasures in response to tariffs on steel, and we are now preparing for further countermeasures to protect our interests and our businesses if negotiations fail," von der Leyen said from Samarkand, Uzbekistan, where she was attending a summit.
"We will also be watching closely what indirect effects these tariffs could have. Because we cannot absorb global overcut capacity, nor will we accept dumping on our markets," von der Leyen said, as the bloc braces for a flood of cheaper exports coming from China and elsewhere that will be shut out of the U.S. market. (read more)
As noted by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, all of the global trade partners would do themselves a favor if they did not react emotionally with increased countervailing duties.
The currently outlined U.S. reciprocal tariffs represent a ceiling amount levied. The goal is to lower the tariffs to zero by eliminating all trade barriers. If the EU raises their baseline tariffs, the only thing that happens is the U.S. side increases at the same proportion. The higher von der Leyen goes in her tariffs, the higher the U.S. countervailing duty applies.
The table of each country’s tariffs can be seen at the link.

Lots of volatility until we find out what this presidential term looks like — maybe late summer or Christmas.
[DM] Stock markets plunged Thursday after President Donald Trump's historic tariff announcement, sparking fears of a US and global recession.
It was a sea of red on Wall Street as US stock markets opened for the first time since President Donald Trump unveiled higher-than-expected tariffs. For every stock increasing in value, ten were falling.
Megacap US tech companies including Apple and retail giants Walmart and Nike led the global market meltdown amid fears of a spike in costs across a wide swath of industries.
Trillions of dollars was wiped off the value of US stocks — a blow that will also hit ordinary Americans whose retirement savings, including 401(K) are tied to the market.
Retail experts say tariffs will also push up prices for shoppers since they are so big companies will have to pass on higher costs.
The S&P 500 opened down 3.12 percent, the Nasdaq down 4.16 percent and the Dow Jones lower by 2.63percent. The S&P is on course for its worst day in two years. There are hopes they will recover during the day and coming weeks.
Companies that rely on imports were down the most, since they will now be hit by tarifs as high as 54 percent for cheap goods from Asia. Nike was down 12 per cent. Apple down 8 per cent.
'The silver lining for investors could be that this is only a starting point for negotiations with other countries and ultimately tariff rates will come down across the board,' Northlight Asset Management's Chris Zaccarelli wrote in a note to clients. 'But for now traders are shooting first and asking questions later,' he added.
Trump made his tariff announcement Wednesday afternoon in the White House Rose Garden, unveiling broad 10 percent tariffs — with even higher rates for certain countries. This includes 34 percent on China, on top of an existing 20 percent tariff. For the European Union, it is 20 percent, much higher than expected. Tariffs will be25 percent on South Korea, 24 percent on Japan and 32 percent on Taiwan.
By then, Wall Street had closed, but futures tied to major US indexes immediately nosedived as investors worried about rising inflation and economic fallout.
Overnight, global stocks tumbled as recession fears spread. Japan's Nikkei index sank tumbled more than 3 percent, while South Korea's Kospi slipped 1.5 percent. In Australia's main index dipped 1.9 percent, heading for its worst single-day decline since September.
Trump on Wednesday accused foreign nations of 'ripping off' the United States. He announced a baseline 10 percent tariff on all imports, effective April 5, with higher rates for countries imposing steeper duties on US goods.
Trump confirmed that a 25 percent tariff would be imposed on all foreign cars imported to the US starts Thursday.
It took nearly 20 minutes before Trump shared the tariff details.
'For nations that treat us badly we will calculate the combined rate of all their tariffs, non-monetary barriers and other forms of cheating. And because we are being very kind ... We will charge them approximately half of what they charge us,' Trump said.
Trump then held up a large sign that showed the calculations. As Trump went through the chart, he knocked even some of the U.S.'s closest allies for charging import taxes.

It will be weeks until we see where the fallout lands. Some nations will capitulate, others will ignore and others will double down. By Christmas we should have a pretty good idea of what the next year's economy will be looking like and I bet it will be slow growth with some inflation, much like we have had for the past 2 years, but things are manageable.
Next two years after that I expect an upswing as new infrastructure is built out and things get a lot better.

Most Americans are more interested in the price of eggs and gas. It's the ruling class gambling in the stock market for paper gains that maybe concerned.

Why, whatever makes you think the stock market is rigged?

before Trump's first term, USA custom duty revenue was well under $40B/year.
by the end of Trump's first year it was about $70Byr
by the last year of Biden's term it was about $100B
if the tariffs announced yesterday were in effect for a whole year it would be about $700B to $900B.
that's a lot
but it could 'finance' the extension of the 2017 Tax Cut and Jobs Act parts of which (e.g., the increased standard deduction) expire in 2025 and other parts in 2026-2028.

Roth IRAs are all the rage with the young crowd
Those youngsters already clients of financial firms, according to thr article, so not your average young minimum wager. In other words the same group that were investing in Roths back when they were first offered, back in the 1989s. On the other hand, that lot are at least as likely to live paycheck to paycheck — figuring they’re successful and therefore deserve to have *all* the nice things — as their less well-paid peers.
[DM] Donald Trump signed an executive order as part of his 'Liberation Day' plans that charges a 30 percent tax on orders under $800 from foreign retailers — a move that could change the face of online shopping forever.
The president spent Wednesday unveiling his sweeping tariff plan, delivering a fiery speech accusing other nations of taking advantage of the US.
Now, a jittery Wall Street is bracing for chaos Thursday morning as US stock markets open for the first time since Trump unveiled the higher-than-expected tariffs.
Initially overshadowed by the broader tariff announcement, an executive order that closes what's known as the 'de minimis' loophole, a century-old trade law that allows imports valued under $800 to enter the US duty-free — provided they are shipped directly to individual buyers.
Shutting down this exception could be the death knell for companies like Shein and Temu, which rely on direct shipments from China and Hong kong that allowed them to bypass US import fees with the loophole.
Under the new rules, imports valued at $800 or less will now face either a 30 percent duty or a $25 per-item fee, with that rate set to double to $50 per item after June 1..
The impact will be huge. US Customs and Border Protection processes over one billion de minimis shipments per year, with Shein and Temu alone accounting for nearly 600,000 packages daily.
More than 90 percent of all packages coming into the US now enter via de minimis —making this one of the biggest shakeups to online shopping in years.
Trump explained in the order that ending the exception is meant as a way to 'combat China's role in America's synthetic opioid crisis.'
The president initially got rid of the loophole in early February before making a quick U-turn after shoppers had complained they were already feeling the pain of his new rules.
However, the delay was only so the Commerce Department can confirm procedures are in place to process them and collect tariff revenue.
Chinese companies had been increasingly taking advantage of this rule, prior to Trump getting rid of it. Chinese exports of low-value packages jumped to $66 billion in 2023, up from $5.3 billion in 2018.
The re-closing of the loophole means prices will rise for Americans who buy $5 shirts, $10 lamps and $20 shoes on direct-from-China shopping sites.
Retail experts say that regular US retailers like Walmart and Amazon, who ship items from domestic warehouses, face a disadvantage compared to their rivals who ship items directly from China and avoid various import fees.
It comes as Wall Street holds its breath ahead of the markets opening for the first day after the tariffs were announced.
Markets are expected to open sharply lower, wiping trillions of dollars off the value of US stocks — a blow that will also hit ordinary Americans whose retirement savings are tied to the market.
[FNS] Women's fencer Stephanie Turner took her mask off and got a knee in front of her transgender opponent.
Ahead of a bout at the Cherry Blossom Open in Maryland over the weekend, Turner, 31, made the decision not to compete against trans athlete Redmond Sullivan. And Turner also wanted to make sure her refusal was caught on video for the world to see.
Turner came to the decision the night before the event when she checked the competition pools and saw that she would be competing against Sullivan, whom she had read about in an article last year.
OTOH - The reason men don't fence women in America is because a German epee fencer, Helena Mayer, moved to the US and kicked everyone's butt, including the top men. So naturally the sport banned co-ed fencing "to keep the girls safe".
[Breitbart] Elie Mystal, a justice correspondent at The Nation, said Tuesday on ABC’s "The View" that "every law" passed before the Voting Rights Act 1965 "should be presumptively unconstitutional."
Mystal said, "I set out to start to kind of try to write Project 2029," Mystal explained. "When Republicans come into office, they come in with a sledge hammer. They come in smashing things that I hold dear. When Democrats come into office, they come with like superglue and tape. And, so they try to put things back together. So, I thought about writing ten Constitutional Amendments that would be super cool if we had. But, I was like, ’No, no, no.’ We need to smash the things that they like. We need to smash the things that are holding this country back. And, so I came up with ten laws that we could just get rid of — not reform, not update for the modern era. Ten things that we can smash if we ever are allowed to get power again that would make this country better tomorrow."
Co-host Sunny Hostin said, "One of the laws you write about is playing out right now, the Immigration and Nationality Act," Hostin said. "Now, this administration is using this statute to justify the detentions and possible deportations actually of visa and green card holders who they seem to deem a threat to U.S. foreign policy. What do you make of the administration’s use of the act, and more broadly, is Trump really setting up a First Amendment showdown — which is what Whoopi’s been talking about?"
Mystal said, "Yes, absolutely. One of my premises for the book is that every law passed before the 1965 Voting Rights Act should be presumptively unconstitutional. Because before the 1965 Voting Rights Act, we were functionally an apartheid country. Not everybody who lived here, could vote here. So, why should I give a about some law that some old white man passed in 1920s like, the Immigration and Nationality Act?"

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] US president Donald Trump has moved another aircraft carrier to the Middle East after amassing stealth bombers to the nearby Chagos Islands, amid fears he may be gearing up to strike Iran.
The US is moving the USS Carl Vinson from Asia, where it normally patrols the South China Sea, to the Persian Gulf, directly south of Iran, to join its sister carrier USS Harry S. Truman.
Trump appears to be making good on a threat to attack Iran with a 'bombing the likes to which they have never seen before' should its supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, refuse to destroy its nuclear programme and stop supporting proxy wars in the Middle East.
America has already moved six B-2 Spirit stealth bombers to the Chagos Islands, a third of its fleet, with satellite imagery showing them resting at the Diego Garcia military base on the UK-controlled island.
These high-tech planes have the capability of carrying bunker busting bombs across Iran that could destroy its military and nuclear sites.
The B-2 Spirits will likely be supported by a fleet of six Stratotanker in-flight refuelling craft, which were seen at Diego Garcia.
These would give the Spirits the capability to fly to Iran, deliver payloads and fly back to the Chagos Islands in a roughly 5,000-mile round trip.
But Iran appears to be stepping up to the military challenge, with Khamenei adviser Ali Larijani telling local media: 'If America or Israel bomb Iran under the nuclear pretext, Iran will be compelled to move toward producing an atomic bomb.'
Last month, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that Iran had substantially increased its production of nuclear-capable uranium, and had increased its stockpile of near-weapons grade material.
The US is also exerting financial pressureon Iran, with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Wednesday meeting in Washington with 16 global banks and federal law enforcement agencies on U.S. sanctions policy on Iran including efforts to cut its oil exports.
Bessent said President Donald Trump's administration is applying economic pressure to the maximum extent possible to disrupt Iran's access to financial resources that help it fund Hamas and other militant groups throughout the Middle East and its efforts to obtain a nuclear weapon.
'This includes the billions of dollars each year that Iran generates via its oil sales, which the regime also uses to finance its dangerous agenda and support its multiple terrorist proxies and partners,' Bessent said, according to a copy of his remarks.
Iran says its nuclear program is for civilian purposes.
Trump restored his policy of maximum pressure on Iran in February that includes efforts to drive its oil exports down to zero.
In March Treasury slapped sanctions on tankers carrying Iranian oil and on a Chinese 'teapot' refinery for processing the oil. Teapots are small, independent refineries in China. China's national oil company refineries have stopped buying Iranian oil over concerns about sanctions.
Bessent mentioned the U.S. sanctioning of Shandong Shouguang Luqing Petrochemical Co., Ltd, the small refinery, and its chief executive officer for purchasing and refining hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of Iranian crude oil, including from vessels linked to the Houthis and the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.
Bessent also warned the banks that Iran conducts its foreign exchange activities through a covert shadow banking network. 'My message to financial institutions worldwide is unequivocal: safeguard your institutions from being exploited by this malign network, so you can continue to serve your legitimate clients with integrity,' Bessent told the banks, according to the Treasury Department.
The department did not immediately respond to a request about which banks and agencies participated.
Bessent said Treasury uses tools such as Wednesday's meeting to bring together financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and law enforcement, to disrupt what it calls Iran's illicit revenue streams.
In an NBC interview over the weekend, Trump also threatened so-called secondary tariffs, which affect buyers of a country's goods, on both Russia and Iran. He signed an executive order in March authorizing such tariffs on buyers of Venezuelan oil.

[FoxNews] The incident unfolded on March 27 as the red Cirrus SR22 propeller aircraft was arriving from the Myrtle Beach area.
"Immediately upon touching down the aircraft began to bounce several times," Steven Markovich, a witness who was filming an aviation show at the airport, told Storyful. "Wisely the pilot aborted the landing and did a go around. Second time was a perfect landing."
At that point turned into a touch-and-go rather than trying to wrestle the little thing through a potential crash. Glad the pilot was ok.

"We don’t have any information about the plane or its pilot/passengers, and no emergency response was activated on the day the video was posted," she added.

Global Warming, man! The 0.04 degree C rise in the average global temperature has caused the Earth to expand, as things do when heated. Because the surface of the Earth is higher, a landing plane will encounter the ground sooner than expected, leading to bounces.
#5
Sure, you're laughing now, but will you still be laughing when all this heat works its way down to Earth's core and the temp at Gaia's very brisket skyrockets from [clickety-clack] 5,957 degrees Furrin (plus or minus 500) to 5957.04 (ditto) and the whole goddam ball of wax blows up like a Hollywood grenade? I mean, think of the impact on the Gretasphere alone!

Wuz talking Movie Problems at the campfire recently and commented on how movies have The Heroes, in typical load out, and start a chapter at ground level and end up at like 30,000 feet with no breathing apparatus or cold weather clothing, and they're just fine.
[REDSTATE] The Democratic Party has filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump ...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election. Then he beat Kamala while dodging bullets... over an executive order designed to maintain integrity in federal elections.
Because, of course they are.
The suit, filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia on Monday, cites several plaintiffs, including most notably the Democratic National Committee (DNC (If you're white you ain't right!) ...Democrat National Committee, where all those off-the-wall talking points originate... ), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer ...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 49.32405 years. Senate minority leader as of 2017... (D-NY).
It's nice that Schumer and Jeffries got over their tiff long enough to join forces to stop the President from keeping non-citizens from voting.
"In the United States of America, the President does not get to dictate the rules of our elections," the court filing reads.
The suit's introduction goes on to suggest Trump was trying to "corrupt" the election process. Corrupting the process by ensuring only citizens vote. What a bizarre argument.
"The Framers of our federal Constitution foresaw that self-interested and self-aggrandizing leaders might seek to corrupt our democratic system of government to expand and preserve their own power," they write.
''Although the Order extensively reflects the President's personal grievances, conspiratorial beliefs, and election denialism, nowhere does it (nor could it) identify any legal authority he possesses to impose such sweeping changes upon how Americans vote," they added.
The lawsuit takes particular exception to the portion of Trump's executive order demanding proof of citizenship for registering to vote by mail.

It doesn’t seem to me that the Federal government has jurisdiction to set voter qualifications except to protect women, races and over 18 voter rights.

Also like to see the voting age returned to 21.
Because it seems, even States and the DC Swamp agree based on their own mandated Age restrictions for certain activities.
As one example:
Why can an 18 y/o vote and even join the military to maybe die for their country. But are not considered mature enough to drink liquors, or purchase or own a Pistol?

[Regnum] The capital region is expecting a sharp change in climate weather: more than 10 cm of snow may fall in Moscow over the weekend. This was reported on April 2 by Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a specialist at the capital's meteorological bureau.
“Starting from Sunday, April 6, the capital region will find itself in the cold rear part of another southern cyclone... From April 6 to 8, Moscow may see more than 10 cm of snow, which will not melt soon given slightly positive air temperatures,” she wrote on her Telegram channel.
The specialist compared the meteorological situation with 1998, when the snow cover in the capital was restored on April 12 and lasted until the 20th. Then the height of the snow cover was 28 centimeters. Pozdnyakova also added that motorists who did not "change to" summer tires will be the winners.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on the morning of April 2, Pozdnyakova reported that about 70% of the monthly precipitation norm fell in Moscow in one day.

[Epoch Times] Many friends of mine are frustrated at what they consider slow progress from the Trump administration. Whatever the pet issue, they want results now, and are otherwise ready to declare failure or betrayal.
One feature I noticed on my travels is just how suddenly nice the TSA is at the airports. I could not understand why. Employees very quickly explained their absolute exuberance that the public-sector union that used to be in charge no longer is.
The Trump administration removed collective bargaining privileges and restored normal management. This led to a wave of firings of lazy, troublesome, and incompetent workers, absolutely thrilling everyone else.
This is a massive change that was hardly announced at all. But it has made a dramatic difference.
Prompted by this example, I’ve chronicled 50 changes that the Trump administration has made that have made life dramatically better in record time.
1. Defanged the public-sector unions.
This happened with hardly any announcement. It pertains to nearly the whole of the government’s workforce. It has emancipated the employees from their terrible unions and led to the almost immediate elevation of merit over DEI as many employees have explained to me. This is very obvious when you travel. You can actually have a human conversation with TSA employees and passport control. And 49 more.
All that in less than two and a half months. How can anyone not be impressed?

[NYPOST] A prominent Gaza family reportedly executed a Hamas terrorist in broad daylight after the gunman shot dead one of their relatives while he was waiting in line for flour.
Members of the Abu Samra clan — a noted family in central Gaza — admitted to killing the Hamas operative in Deir al-Balah on Tuesday after he gunned down their relative, Abdulrahman Sha'aban Abu Samra, earlier in the day, the Times of Israel reported.
Footage circulating on social media showed a handful of heavily armed men parading the apparent terrorist through the street in the moments before they opened fire on him at point-blank range.
The revenge attack came just hours after the Hamas militant had gunned down Abdulrahman for apparently refusing an order to leave the flour distribution line.
The caught-on-camera execution highlights the mounting fury civilians are having with Hamas — as demonstrations have broken out in the war-torn Gaza Strip of late to protest the misery the terrorists have brought.
On Wednesday, hundreds of Palestinians also rallied in Beit Lahiya, in the northern Gaza Strip, chanting “Hamas out” and “Enough death,” in renewed protests against the terror group.
Residents were angered by new Israeli military evacuation orders, which the military said followed rocket salvos by terror groups from the area.
They may have been emboldened to take to the streets by a sharply reduced presence of Hamas police and security forces in the past weeks since Israel’s large-scale attacks resumed.
In a different incident, in Gaza City, another family accused Hamas police of killing a relative and vowed vengeance.
“The blood of our son will not be in vain,” the family said in a statement.
There was no immediate comment by the Hamas-run police about that incident.

[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] The Department of Homeland Security has arrested a man in Texas for allegedly making threats against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
Robert King, a US citizen, was taken into custody in McKinney, Texas, after pledging on social media to ''open fire'' on ICE agents in his neighborhood, according to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Dallas.
King's rhetoric follows a similar incident in which another man, a TikTok user known as "belal_donq," went viral this week for posting a video urging people to shoot ICE agents ''on sight.''
"Shoot at ICE agents on sight. That's right. If ICE agents are trying to take you or a loved one, shoot them on sight,'' the user said in the viral video, which has since been removed. "The way they're pulling up with masks on, with unmarked vehicles, no badge, no nothing, it could be anybody. It can be gang members. You have every right to shoot at them. This would be the best self-defense case. You're just in fear for your life."
He went on to criticize the motives of ICE agents, saying, "Why would you wanna be an ICE agent anyway? Do you like separating kids from their parents? Do you like deporting students that are studying? I can understand deporting a gang member or criminals, but innocent people is ridiculous.''
In response to the video, Noem posted on X, stating, ''If you threaten or attempt to harm a law enforcement officer we will find you and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.''

There have been a lot of Americans killed by police because law enforcement pulled up without identifying themselves. I feel LE should rethink that policy and only use it on the worst of the worst. They raided some priest or religious guy in Michigan the same way and a lot of people could have died.
[GEO.TV] Angola's cholera outbreak has killed more than 300 people since January, with thousands infected as the disease spreads rapidly across most of the country, the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned.
The outbreak has now claimed 329 lives, the WHO said on Saturday, warning that the risk of further transmission in the country and surrounding areas was "very high."
The resource-rich African nation has been experiencing a substantial cholera outbreak since January, with a total of 8,543 cases recorded as of 23 March. Angola struggles with high poverty rates and poor sanitation despite its oil wealth.
The WHO said the outbreak had rapidly spread to 16 out of Angola's 21 provinces, affecting individuals of all age groups, with the highest burden among those aged under 20.
"The Ministry of Health, with support from WHO and partners, is managing the cholera outbreak response through case detection, deployment of rapid response teams, community engagement, and a vaccination campaign," the UN health agency said.
"Given the rapidly evolving outbreak, ongoing rainy season, and cross-border movement with neighbouring countries, WHO assesses the risk of further transmission in Angola and surrounding areas as very high."

The ONE AND ONLY WAY to get Cholera is fecal-oral contact.
Yes, it is as disgusting as it sounds.
You get it by drinking shitwater. That's how that Haiti outbreak happened: UN troops built a leaky latrine near a creek that the locals drank from.
The cholera bacteria dies easily and is susceptible to all of the usual sanitary measures: filtering, boiling, water purification tablets, etc.
[BREITBART] MSNBC contributor Claire McCaskill ...Now, why would I pay taxes on my airplane? Send the bill to the taxpayers!... claimed Wednesday on ''Morning Joe'' that President Donald Trump ...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party... was deporting people because he didn't ''like their opinion.''
McCaskill said, ''The underpinning for this whole thing is this idea that we're at war with Venezuela
...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south... , and therefore, these people need to be deported without due process, without the court's involvement. Clearly, everybody in America wants violent mostly peaceful criminals who are here illegally out of the country, end of discussion, full stop. So let's do it according to our laws. It's not that hard. It doesn't have to take a lot of time.''
She continued, ''We have been a beacon to the world for the brightest minds to come to our universities. Many of them end up becoming American citizens and becoming doctors and researchers and engineers. And we have led the world in so many areas because of our higher education system. What Donald Trump is doing right now, he is deporting people not for what they've done, not because they're here illegally, because he doesn't like their opinion.''
McCaskill added, ''Now think about that. We are taking graduate students and moving them out of the country. They're here legally. They're studying. They have a different opinion than Donald Trump. Marco Rubio ...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration... is being his Mini-Me and actually giving voice to this, that somehow you can get deported in America if you say things we don't like. What what happened to our freedom of speech?''

In a video she posted on TikTok, Hope Walz on Sunday laid out her reasons for the decision, Fox News reported.
The young woman stated:
I applied for one school. I kind of had my heart set on it. That's what I wanted to do. I am not going to name the institution. But given recent events, I am not going to give my money, go into debt for, or support institutions that don't support their students and the right to protest and speak out for their communities. That's just not where I'm at.
Students deserve to be protected. I'm not worried about if I were to be protected or not at said institution. I'm, you know, a privileged white woman. But I'm not going to put myself in the position where I am giving money or supporting institutions that don't support their students.

[REGNUM] The already turbulent crime chronicle of Mexico has been supplemented by the chilling story of the Izaguirre ranch in the state of Jalisco.
A group of activists searching for missing persons received several anonymous calls telling them that a ranch in a village outside Guadalajara was hiding some dark secrets.
The estate's territory has been under the protection of regional authorities since autumn and, according to their statement, has been thoroughly explored. Nothing interesting was found there - just another hideout for drug traffickers from the Jalisco New Generation cartel.
The searchers, however, were lucky. If that's what they found, of course.
Once at the ranch, they found evidence that it was not just a shelter, but a real base where they recruited and trained new fighters, as well as eliminated those who were undesirable.
HOLY DEATH
Several weeks ago, activists began excavations and quickly discovered charred human bones, as well as several underground ovens (three according to some sources, and even more according to others), in which, apparently, the bodies of the murdered were burned.
Personal belongings were also found near the remains: shoes, clothes, backpacks, notebooks, letters and much more. In the first days, forensic experts concluded that the items found could belong to at least five hundred different people.
After some time, they started talking about more monstrous numbers - almost one and a half thousand people. Moreover, most of them, judging by their clothes, were minors or a little over twenty years old.
Various parts of firearms and bladed weapons were also found, cartridges were lying almost everywhere, and near the wall there was an altar of Saint Death (Santa Muerte) with figurines, remains of candles and glasses into which alcohol could be poured during rituals.
Based on what they saw, the experts concluded that combat training was taking place at the ranch. Keeping in mind the usual practice of the major cartels - both the Jalisco New Generation and the long-disbanded Los Zetas - it was concluded that some hostages were brought there by force, forced to carry out tasks, and then, having failed to see any success or having met with a determined refusal to participate in the cartel's activities, were killed.
As for the altar of Saint Death, whose cult originates in the “regional version” of Catholicism, its presence here is quite logical: cartel fighters consider it good form to turn to the deity for support before going on a mission or to prison.
Interestingly, the training base also held hostages: many women's elegant dresses, relatively clean, were found among the personal belongings. Their owners, apparently, were kidnapped during public celebrations or parties.
News of the sinister discoveries quickly spread through regional and federal media, and the Izaguirre ranch was immediately dubbed the “Mexican Auschwitz.”
And quite quickly the commentators came up with the question: how “professionally” did regional officials search the ranch from September to October that they didn’t find a whole mountain of clothing and not very well hidden human bones?
THE JALISCO CARTEL'S RESPONSE
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has called for a thorough investigation into the findings in Jalisco state, including a review of the legality of the actions of state authorities who have been in charge of the ranch in recent months.
Soon after, a video from the Jalisco New Generation cartel appeared on social media, in which the militants decided to “clarify some facts.”
And their first question: how did it happen that unknown activists got into the territory protected by the authorities, who, having found the remains of corpses, did not immediately contact the federal authorities, but organized a "promotion" on social networks? And why does no one care that in the fall there were no bodies, no clothes, no stoves on the ranch?
Yes, the Jalisco New Generation cartel are criminals, but they operate according to their own "code" and are not idiots, because only idiots would give a gun to a person they kidnapped. And that is exactly what the mysterious volunteers found.
The members of the criminal cartel also stated that such incitement and denigration provoke a conflict situation in the region and threaten to turn the state into a “second Sinaloa.” The presence of thousands of corpses and the very fact of creating a “death camp” in the cartel are categorically denied.
To be fair, there is some logic to what the criminals are saying. What is especially alarming is that many of the ranch captives' belongings are clean, not even slightly soiled.
In addition, love letters were found here, the authors of which are still very much alive and have long been found.
And here other versions of what happened began to emerge.
Several years ago, secret burial sites were already discovered in the state of Jalisco. And immediately after that, federal troops arrived in the region with a series of operations against the Jalisco New Generation cartel.
Then the leader of the organized crime group, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes , nicknamed "El Mencho", through his people stated that the burials were created by the state governor, who plans to clear the territory with the help of the feds and thus get rid of competitors.
In an effort to take away a certain “business,” local officials are not too scrupulous in their means—they can even organize the shelling of a peaceful neighborhood in order to “draw attention to the problem.”
Almost the same thing is happening now: several special operations have been carried out in the region to capture members of the New Generation of Jalisco. However, the federal troops could not boast of any particular success, having lost three people during one of the shootouts.
The reported scale of the killings at the Izaguirre ranch also raises big questions.
People familiar with the process of identifying bodies claim that it is impossible to count, compare and conduct laboratory tests so quickly, and equating the number of dead to the number of all items of clothing found is at the very least strange.
And the people working in the cartel are not idiots who arrange burials of thousands of people in one place, and even within the boundaries of a populated area.
It cannot be ruled out that some of the bodies and clothing could have been delivered there by representatives of the federal authorities, who are in full swing fighting crime against the backdrop of Washington’s threats to impose higher tariffs on exported goods against the country.
And besides, Mexico's top security official, Omar Garcia Harfuch, considers hunting the Jalisco New Generation his personal matter of honor, since they have tried to kill him more than once. And in such cases, for certain people, as we know, all means are good.
Apparently, the cartel understands the situation perfectly well, but they can’t resist mocking their enemies: against the backdrop of a series of police operations, just an hour’s drive from Guadalajara, a grand concert was held in honor of the cartel leader, El Mencho.
The crowd chanted verses addressed to the drug lord, and the court mariachi minstrels made it clear who was the master of this land.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.
[Korrespondent] 21.10 Ukraine and Russia are "close" to a complete ceasefire. This was stated by the US President's special envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg.
"We want to achieve a comprehensive 30-day ceasefire. Once you achieve that, it will be very difficult to resume the war. That's what I believe," he said.
According to Kellogg, now it is necessary to formulate contractual conditions, that is, documents that will spell out the positions of Ukraine and Russia, and then “bring them together.”
"And I do believe that we are on the verge of a ceasefire, but both sides are going to have to compromise. Neither side is going to get everything they want. They're going to have to give up something to get to a solution. But President Trump can do that," Kellogg said.
19.58 Russia has stepped up its information operation against Ukraine. This was reported by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
It is noted that the goal of the operation is "to liquidate Ukrainian statehood not on the battlefield, but in the minds of people: by delegitimizing the Ukrainian authorities, devaluing democratic institutions and imposing an external political scenario with signs of controlled capitulation."
The operation is being carried out using the capabilities of the special services of the Russian Federation - the FSB, the SVR, the Main Directorate of the General Staff - under the overall coordination of the administration of Vladimir Putin.
19:35 NATO plays an advisory role in the Coalition of the Willing, said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
"And we are there (participating in the Coalition of the Willing, – ed.) to advise and consider the consequences of certain plans and their significance for the protection of our territory," the Secretary General of the Alliance emphasized.
19.13 Russians carried out a targeted missile strike on Krivoy Rog. All necessary services are currently working at the site of the attack. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"There are victims. They are receiving medical assistance. As of today, it is known that the lives of four people were unfortunately taken by this strike. All of the dead were civilians. My condolences to their families and friends," the head of state wrote on Telegram.
Zelensky stressed that all over the world such attacks are called unequivocally: it is terrorism.
"This can only be stopped by putting sufficient pressure on Moscow, on the Russian system, so that they are forced to abandon war and terror, and this depends on our partners - on America, on Europe, on others in the world. The only thing that separates us from at least a complete and unconditional end to the strikes is the lack of Russia's consent to end the war. Only pressure from the world can ensure such consent," the president said.
18:25 Russian troops destroyed a dam in the Belgorod region using an ODAB-1500 aerial bomb weighing one and a half tons. It fell near the village of Popovka, several hundred meters from the border with Ukraine.
The strike was carried out with the aim of complicating the possible advance of Ukrainian armored vehicles. Fierce fighting has been going on in the area of the neighboring village of Demidovka for almost two weeks.
18.01 Last week (March 24-30), 66 children and their families were evacuated from four communities in Donetsk Oblast. This was reported by the press service of the regional military administration. It is noted that 3 children were evacuated from the Liman community, 2 children from Kryvyi Rih, 15 children from Dobropilska, and 37 children from the Druzhkivska community.
17.57 March has become the most difficult month for Kharkiv since the beginning of the year due to the scale of destruction caused by Russian shelling. [THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] The US Department of Agriculture announced on Wednesday that it has frozen federal funds to Maine over the state's refusal to comply with President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... 's executive order barring biological males from female sports.
Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins sent a letter to Maine Governor Janet Mills announcing the pause, writing, "You cannot openly violate federal law against discrimination in education and expect federal funding to continue unabated. Your defiance of federal law has cost your state, which is bound by Title IX in educational programming."
Rollins said that funding for certain administrative and technological functions in schools was affected by the freeze. "This pause does not impact federal feeding programs or direct assistance to Mainers; if a child was fed today, they will be fed tomorrow," she noted.
Rollins told Mills that the freeze announced Wednesday was "only the beginning, though you are free to end it at any time by protecting women and girls in compliance with federal law."
In addition to the funding freeze, Rollins said that the department is reviewing "all research and education-related funding in Maine for compliance with the Constitution, federal laws including Titles VI and IX, and the priorities of the Trump Administration," and said that the USDA has undertaken a review of all grants given out by the Biden Administration to the Maine Department of Education.
"Many of these grants appear to be wasteful, redundant, or otherwise against the priorities of the Trump Administration. USDA will not extend the Biden Administration's bloated bureaucracy and will instead focus on a Department that is farmer-first and without a leftist social agenda," Rollins wrote.

[Regnum] The Russian Investigative Committee is investigating the circumstances of the murder of four residents of the village of Rubanshchina in the Kursk Region by Ukrainian soldiers. This was reported on April 2 by the official representative of the department Svetlana Petrenko.
"During the investigation of a criminal case on a terrorist act (clause "b" of part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), during an inspection of the residential sector of the village of Rubanshchina in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region, the bodies of four civilians with signs of violent death were found in residential buildings and in the adjacent territory. One of the bodies had gunshot wounds," Petrenko was quoted as saying by the Russian Investigative Committee's Telegram channel.
Investigators, examining the houses, established that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had struck the residential sector with artillery. This is evidenced by the destruction discovered.
Currently, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is identifying the victims and interrogating witnesses. Forensic examinations have been ordered in the case. All representatives of the Ukrainian armed formations involved in the crime will be identified and brought to justice, Petrenko emphasized.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on March 13, the Russian army liberated the city of Sudzha and the settlements of Melovaya and Podol from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Rubanshchina and the village of Zaoleshenka were liberated on March 15.
The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a number of criminal cases on the crimes of the Kiev regime in the Kursk region. On April 1, the agency reported that four Ukrainian servicemen were sentenced to long prison terms for shelling civilians in the Sudzhansky district. As the court established, they illegally invaded the Kursk region as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, participated in terrorist attacks against civilians and opened fire to kill on Russian servicemen.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] California has experience three earthquakes in less than 12 hours
The latest quake, measuring a 2.8 magnitude struck Monterey County, which hit at 4:16pm ET.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) detected 2.8 magnitude and 2.9 magnitude tremors just miles outside of San Francisco.
An assessment from Michigan Tech University showed that people typically do not feel quakes with a magnitude of 2.5 or less. Those from 2.5 to 5.4 are often felt but only cause minor damage.
No injuries or damages have been reported following the California earthquakes.
The latest quake came from the San Andreas fault that spans 800 miles up and down California, which experts fear is is overdue for another massive earthquake, according to the Great California Shakeout.
Experts have estimated that over 39 million people on the West Coast would feel the effects of the 'Big One,' which is a magnitude 8 or higher.

Pulled an all nighter at Ingram's Chili Bowl.
That would explain the 50kt wind gusts we have been getting.
A bit suspicious that all these earthquakes come right after explosions on the Sun. Could be aliens trying to take over Earth while everyone is distracted by Trump's tariffs. Say, you don't think Trump is in on it? Hard to imagine a bigger cartoon villain move!
[Jpost] Hamas quietly removed the names of thousands of Palestinians it had previously alleged were killed during the Israel-Hamas war, Salo Aizenberg, from the US-based non-profit organisation Honest Reporting told The Telegraph on Wednesday after analyzing Hamas’s March 2025 casualty update. "I'm not dead. I got better"
Hamas has previously claimed that 70% of casualties have been women and children, a claim no longer reflected in their recently updated lists, according to the research. Approximately 72% of fatalities are aged 13-55 and are men - the demographic category aligns with Hamas combatants.
"Hamas’s new March 2025 fatality list quietly drops 3,400 fully ’identified’ deaths listed in its August and October 2024 reports — including 1,080 children. These ’deaths’ never happened. The numbers were falsified — again," Aizenberg asserted.

[TheGuardian] Ron Klain tells author Chris Whipple then president could not focus and obsessed about foreign leaders ahead of debate that ended his campaign
In a new book, Joe Biden’s former White House chief of staff paints a devastating picture of the then US president’s mental and physical state before the debate with Donald Trump that sent his 2024 campaign into a tailspin, resulting in his relinquishing the Democratic nomination to Kamala Harris.
Ron Klain served Biden from 2021 to 2023, then returned to his side last June to run debate preparation as he had for numerous Democratic presidents before.
According to Klain, it turned out that Biden “didn’t know what Trump had been saying and couldn’t grasp what the back and forth was”; left preparation and fell asleep by the pool; obsessed about foreign leaders, saying “these guys say I’m doing a great job as president so I must be a great president”; “didn’t really understand what his argument was on inflation”; and “had nothing to say about a second term other than finish the job”.
As described by Klain to the reporter Chris Whipple, at one point Biden had an idea.
“If he looked perplexed when Trump talked, voters would understand that Trump was an idiot. Klain replied: ‘Sir, when you look perplexed, people just think you’re perplexed. And this is our problem in this race.”
Whipple’s book, Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History, will be published next week. The Guardian obtained a copy.
Biden is reportedly planning his own book but Whipple’s blockbuster is not even the first such volume to hit the shelves. This week saw the publication of Fight, by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, which also contains extensive reporting on Biden’s decline and Harris’s struggle to win over party elites.
Like Parnes and Allen, Whipple reports both sides of a campaign Trump won despite a criminal conviction, civil penalties including one related to an allegation of rape, and indictments over election subversion and retention of classified information.
But Whipple focuses another harsh spotlight on Biden, an octogenarian president long beset by questions about his fitness for office.
Last week, Whipple told Politico: “I have fresh reporting on an hour-by-hour, day-by-day basis of Biden’s final days, and obviously his decline is a major part of the story.
“I happen to think that to call it a ‘cover-up’ is simplistic. I think it was stranger and way more troubling than that. Biden’s inner circle, his closest advisers, many of them were in a fog of delusion and denial. They believed what they wanted to believe.”
In early 2024, as the campaign warmed up, Klain was among those who said he believed Biden was the right candidate to beat Trump a second time, telling the New York Times: “If I thought he wasn’t the right candidate to beat Donald Trump, I wouldn’t be for him running. But I think he is the right candidate.”
Even after the disastrous debate, by his own telling to Whipple, Klain believed Biden should have stayed in the race – a statement that jars with Klain’s account of debate prep at Camp David.
“At his first meeting with Biden in Aspen Lodge, the president’s cabin,” Whipple writes, Klain “was startled. He’d never seen him so exhausted and out of it. Biden was unaware of what was happening in his own campaign. Halfway through the session, the president excused himself and went off to sit by the pool.
“That evening Biden met again with Klain and his team, [Biden aides] Mike Donilon, Steve Richetti, and Bruce Reed. ‘We sat around the table,’ said Klain. ‘[Biden] had answers on cards, and he was just extremely exhausted. And I was struck by how out of touch with American politics he was. He was just very, very focused on his interactions with Nato leaders.’”
Klain, Whipple writes, “wondered half-seriously if Biden thought he was president of Nato instead of the US. ‘He just became very enraptured with being the head of Nato,’ he said. That wouldn’t help him on Capitol Hill because, as Klain noted, ‘domestic political leaders don’t really care what [Emmanuel] Macron and [Olaf] Scholz think.’”
Klain, fellow aides and visitors including the film mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg tried to get Biden into shape. Two mock debates were organized, focusing on domestic policy.
“The first was scheduled to last 90 minutes but Klain called it off after 45. The president’s voice was shot and so was his grasp of the subject. All he really could talk about was his infrastructure plan and how he was rebuilding America and 16 million jobs. He had nothing to say about his agenda for a second term.”
Klain says Biden grew irritable, saying he would not make promises as he would be criticized for failing to deliver. Klain says he tried to persuade Biden to run on unfinished business, including his attempt to “subsidize state and local efforts to do childcare and bring down the cost to $20 a day. And you ought to try to fight for it again.”
“Biden seemed befuddled,” Whipple writes. “‘Well, that just seems like a big spending program,’ he said.
Klain said: “No, sir. It brings down costs for people. It’s responsive to inflation. It will bring more people into the workforce. It’s good economics. And you know this is something you’re for.”
But “Biden didn’t want to talk about it” and “25 minutes into the second mock debate, the president was done for the day. ‘I’m just too tired to continue and I’m afraid of losing my voice here and I feel bad,’ he said. ‘I just need some sleep. I’ll be fine tomorrow.’ He went off to bed.”
“The president was fatigued, befuddled, and disengaged,” Whipple writes. “Klain feared the debate with Trump would be a nationally televised disaster.” Narrator: "Spoiler Alert. It Was"
It was. On 27 June, Biden arrived at the Atlanta venue with minutes to spare – because, Klain said, “He was the president of the United States. They weren’t going to start without him.” Onstage, for two hours and six minutes, Biden stumbled, stared and mumbled.
As described by Whipple, Jill Biden praised her husband’s performance but all others around the president could see “something was terribly wrong”. Whipple quotes an unnamed close friend of Biden who took a call from Valerie Biden Owens. The president’s sister and longtime adviser was “so angry, she was practically incoherent”. The same friend reports a later call from Biden, laughing at his predicament and sounding like the senator and vice-president of old.
“Where did that voice go?” the friend wondered … “Where did that guy with that voice go? What the fuck happened to this guy?”
To Whipple, that was a question “on which the political fate of the nation would turn”.
Eventually, Biden bowed to reality. On 21 July, Klain took a call from Jeff Zients, his successor as chief of staff. Biden was out. Despite the debate disaster, the news was a “gut punch” to Klain.
“Jeff, that’s too bad,” he said. “I think that’s a mistake. I think this was an avoidable tragedy.”
Harris faced opposition from Democratic grandees including Obama and Nancy Pelosi, but wrapped up the nomination by August. In early September, Klain gave Whipple his interview. With the Minnesota governor, Tim Walz, as her running mate, Harris mounted an energetic campaign. In November, she lost to Trump.

Biden should have been 25th Amendmented a long time ago- good thing he wasn’t because it might well have given us President Harris for the rest of that term and this one. She could have used the Biden basement campaign strategy.

[REGNUM] Over the past month, Republika Srpska
…the Serbian enclave in Bosnia and Herzegovina…
(RS) President Milorad Dodik has made several international visits despite a Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) court verdict, an Interpol arrest warrant and a travel ban from BiH. Despite everything, the republic continues to regain its powers and move towards independence.
On April 1, Dodik held a meeting in the Kremlin with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is noteworthy that the head of the RS had already visited Serbia, Hungary and Israel before his visit to Moscow, enjoying the support of a number of countries tired of the “rules-based world.”
UNTENABLE VERDICT
After the BiH court sentenced the leadership of the Republika Srpska, a real hunt began. Due to “disrespect” for the illegitimate “high representative” appointed to oversee Bosnia and Herzegovina after the end of the 1992-1995 war, Dodik was sentenced to one year in prison and banned from political activity for five years.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković and the Speaker of the Parliament Nenad Stevandić were also found to be "guilty". Moreover, due to Sarajevo's inability to arrest the RS leadership, the Serbian leaders began to be accused of "attempting to undermine the constitutional order" of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which resulted in an Interpol request and a ban on leaving BiH.
One of Dodik's main allies, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, was the first to react to the verdict, and quite violently:
"The political witch hunt against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik is a sad example of how the legal system is being turned into a weapon against a democratically elected leader. If we want to maintain stability in the Western Balkans, this is not our way forward."
However, the verdict itself is hardly legitimate. It is not for nothing that the Republic of Srpska has not recognized the activities of the High Representative Christian Schmidt and the Constitutional Court of BiH for more than two years.
Schmidt does not have a UN Security Council mandate, as Russia and China have vetoed it. Therefore, the decisions and imposed laws of the self-proclaimed high representative in Banja Luka are simply ignored.
The situation is similar with the BiH court. This court is built on the system of "2+2+2+3", it has two representatives of each nation: two Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks, and three foreigners.
It is not difficult to guess that the presence of foreigners provides political Sarajevo with the decisions it needs, so the court has long become an anti-Serb (and even anti-Croatian) political instrument within the process of creating a unitary country.
"BiH has never emerged from crisis. It is an impossible country, in constant crisis. It emerges from one crisis process and enters another," Dodik said recently.
RETURN OF POWERS
The political structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina is an extremely complex system, in which, in theory, there should be two entities - the Republic of Srpska and the Muslim-Croat Federation of BiH. The entities have the broadest rights and, in fact, these are two states in one, which is enshrined in the Dayton Peace Treaty.
However, Sarajevo, the EU and the US are increasingly unhappy with this arrangement, since the Republic of Srpska is blocking accession to NATO, refusing to impose anti-Russian sanctions and not supporting Ukraine. In fact, they began to take away its powers almost immediately after the signing of peace. This is noticeable in a number of decisions - from the creation of the Brcko district to common institutions of power at the level of BiH. But especially strong pressure began with the coming to power of Milorad Dodik.
Under him, the republic began to regain a number of powers, and the sentence to its leadership became the last straw, after which they realized that they had a choice: either to surrender and allow the destruction of statehood, or to fight through legal and diplomatic means.
"We are not fighting against BiH and Bosniaks, but we are fighting for our rights, as enshrined in the Dayton Peace Accords," said Milorad Dodik.
The leadership of the Republic of Srpska promptly passed laws banning the work of the Bosnian prosecutor's office, court and SIPA intelligence service on its territory, as well as laws on foreign agents and the fight against intelligence activities. At the same time, Milorad Dodik called on Serbs working in the general government bodies to leave them, promising to find them all other jobs.
Moreover, the deputies of the National Assembly (parliament) of the Republic of Srpska approved a draft resolution on the beginning of the adoption of a new constitution of the Republic of Srpska, which will give the right to recreate its armed forces, create special services and border guards, form a court and prosecutor's office, and even the right to a confederation with Serbia.
Particular attention is drawn to Articles 115 and 116, which state that Banja Luka will have its own army and can both declare neutrality and enter into military alliances with other states. Given the authority of Milorad Dodik and the political majority in parliament, the adoption of a new Constitution is a matter of time.
One of the main points of the republican leadership's activities will be the restoration of the border police. Two laws have already been developed and are under consideration by the government.
It is worth recalling here that from 1996 to 2000, the border of the Republic of Srpska with Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro was controlled by its own police. The creation of the border service of Bosnia and Herzegovina was initiated by the high representative Wolfgang Petritsch, putting pressure on the then weak Banja Luka.
It is noteworthy that the Serbs who worked in the institutions of BiH were given until March 19 to decide whether to transfer to the institutions of the Republic of Srpska. And from that date, all employees of the SIPA special services and the Bosnian prosecutor's office can be detained for working on the territory of the Republic of Srpska.
"If something can't live up to Dayton, then we have to be a free state," Dodik said.
Despite the constant accusations of "separatism" and "attack on the constitutional order" against the RS leadership, it is Banja Luka that does everything within the framework of the Dayton Accords and the BiH constitution. It does not go beyond what is permitted and uses the broadest possibilities of the internationally recognized documents that were won on the battlefield from 1992 to 1995.
It is obvious that the strong position of the republic does not suit either Sarajevo or the US and the EU, so they not only interpret the agreements as they want, but also directly contradict them - the appointment of an illegitimate high representative alone is worth something.
ISOLATION HAS FAILED
The persecution of Milorad Dodik is just part of a larger EU campaign to combat dissent.
Brussels today represents the "war party" and is the main supporter of the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine to the last Ukrainian. However, a number of political leaders in Europe "sabotage" the EU plan, as a result of which the Union openly spat on all democratic processes and moved to a real dictatorship even beyond its borders.
The arrest of a presidential candidate in Romania, the detention of the head of Gagauzia, attempts to overthrow the Prime Minister of Hungary, an attempt to assassinate the Prime Minister of Slovakia, unrest in Georgia, the arrest of Marine Le Pen in France and the attempt to detain Milorad Dodik are all links in the same chain.
At the same time, arresting the president of the RS turned out to be not so easy. Firstly, the republic has its own police and special forces that report exclusively to it.
Secondly, the Bosnian Interior Ministry does not enter the republic. SIPA officially refused to participate in Dodik's arrest, and the head of the special services, Darko Čulum, even moved to Dodik's Interior Ministry.
Thirdly, even the EUFOR peacekeeping contingent refused Sarajevo, citing the fact that they do not have the authority to do so.
That is why Milorad Dodik feels at ease in Banja Luka and is not planning to run anywhere.
Foreign visits, of course, became more difficult after the Sarajevo branch of Interpol issued an international arrest warrant for him. However, even this did not stop Dodik from making four foreign trips in a little over a month.
In mid-February, he flew to Hungary on an official visit together with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. After discussing a number of economic issues, the country's President Tamas Sujok presented Vucic with the Grand Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit with a chain and a gold star.
Then Milorad Dodik calmly visited Serbia on March 24, the anniversary of the start of the bombing of Yugoslavia, and returned to Bosnia. Sarajevo was, of course, indignant, but there was nothing they could do about it.
And even though his own border police is still in the process of being created, there are Serbs working on the border with Serbia, and they will not detain their president.
The situation with travel to distant foreign countries has become even more interesting.
Milorad Dodik, as before, left BiH unhindered and traveled from Serbia to Israel. He took part in an international conference on combating anti-Semitism, organized by the Israeli Diaspora Ministry, and also held talks with the country's top leadership.
The details, unfortunately, are not disclosed, but it can be assumed that Dodik has secured the support of Tel Aviv.
It is noteworthy that Banja Luka, unlike Sarajevo, has good relations with it. The Republic of Srpska has long cooperated with Israel on a number of issues, especially in the area of security (due to the threat of Wahhabism) and the study of suffering in World War II (more than 20 years of intensive joint work with the International Institute for the Study of the Holocaust Yad Vashem, cooperation with the Simon Wiesenthal Center, etc.).
Israel also rejected all UN resolutions directed against Republika Srpska, and the republic responded by blocking BiH's vote in the UN against Israel.
The icing on the cake of Milorad Dodik’s international voyage was a visit to Moscow.
It is worth noting that he announced his visits to Israel and Russia long ago. The only question was whether he would be able to leave Bosnia. As we can see, he did.
The meeting with Vladimir Putin was already Dodik's 26th. On the Russian side, the president's aide Yuri Ushakov also took part.
"Russia is a very important country for the Republic of Srpska, including in the UN Security Council. And it has always been objective. Russia is the guarantor of the peace agreement, and Putin said this at the meeting. Within this framework, Russia will advocate for the cessation and abolition of the work of international institutions, especially the fake high representative or, as he says, the illegitimate representative. He was interested in the details of what we do and how we work," Dodik said.
Earlier, the issue of the activities of the EUFOR "peacekeepers" was also raised, as Milorad Dodik wanted to ask Vladimir Putin to veto their activities in the UN Security Council. It is unknown whether this topic was also touched upon. Sarajevo began spreading rumors that Dodik had received Russian citizenship, but this news was quickly denied.
It is not yet known when the President of the Republic of Srpska will return to Banja Luka. However, it is certain that Sarajevo, with the assistance of the EU, will do everything to remove him from political activity.
Any means will be used: arrest, attempt at a “color revolution,” increased sanctions, pressure through Belgrade, and so on.
However, the situation in BiH is such that the potential detention of Dodik threatens a referendum on the secession of the republic he leads from the federation, and this, in turn, could provoke a new war. Do they understand this in Sarajevo and the EU? There are serious doubts about this.
But there is absolutely no doubt that the isolation of Milorad Dodik has failed.
Banja Luka has excellent relations with Hungary, Russia, Israel, China and, with a little help from them, with the entire “global south”. And the common border with Serbia, which is obliged to help and protect Banja Luka, plays a key role in this.
It is a confederation of states designed to provide a political, economic and military counterbalance to the USA. It is like the former Soviet Union, but with slightly less communism.

[REGNUM] At the end of the last week of March, Russian troops, advancing in the direction of Krasny Liman (in the north of the DPR), gained a foothold in the ancient village of Terny. After the Ukrainian "counteroffensive" in the summer-fall of 2022, control over the large Liman bridgehead, from which it would have been possible to launch an offensive on Slavyansk, was lost. Terny was also occupied.
During the trench warfare of 2022–2024, the front line slowly but surely moved towards the Black Stallion River, on the banks of which a number of important settlements are located, known since the time of Catherine the Great and His Serene Highness Prince Grigory Potemkin . These are Torskoye and Yampolovka , which we talked about earlier. As well as the village of Zarechnoye (historical name before 1941 — Popovka, in 1941–2016 — Kirovo and Kirovsk) — and Terny.
If the reports that the village was founded in 1760 are true, then its history should be counted from the time of not even Catherine II, but Elizabeth Petrovna. But Russian people began to develop this corner of the former Wild Steppe much earlier - even under the second tsar of the Romanov dynasty, Alexei Mikhailovich .
"NEKLEIN, DOGWOOD AND BLACKTHORN"
"Not far from Kremennaya, about three miles from the confluence of the Bakhmutova River with the Donets, two miles from the Donets, was the town of Sukharev, founded by Don Cossacks around 1680," wrote Saint Philaret of Chernigov in his description of the Kharkov lands. According to other sources, these were Cossacks who participated in the rebellion of Stepan Razin - but questions arise as to why, in this case, they were trusted to settle on the border of the Russian kingdom. In the same 1680s, people from the Right Bank of the Dnieper who moved to Russia founded the settlement of Kremennaya (now a city in the LPR), where one of the hundreds of the settlement regiment from the city of Izyum was soon located.
"At first, the Don Cossacks (from Sukharev town) freely allowed the Cossacks of the Izyum regiment to establish apiaries near them, along the Krasnaya River," noted Saint Philaret. The Circassian Cossacks settled nearby, and the single- farmers who had moved from Slavyansk , the descendants of the Great Russian settlers, also had their own farmsteads. But "as the population increased," there was not enough "enough land."
"The Sukharevtsy, having lost their dispute with the Slobozhans about the rights to the Krasnaya and Zherebets rivers, became even more persistent in their claims... Around 1760, they forced up to 300 Cherkass families to leave them, and then settled up to 60 families in Terny, while the rest scattered to different places," wrote Filaret Chernigovsky. The Sukharev town, which "lost more residents than it gained," turned into a ghost town by the beginning of the 19th century, its last residents moving to Kremennaya. And this town still exists, as does the village of Terny.
As for the name, its origin is obvious. "On the banks of the Donets grow oak, birch bark, alder, willow, neklen, dogwood, blackthorn..." - listed in the report on the journey through the Sloboda lands the famous naturalist of Catherine's times, academician Johann Anton Gildenstedt . It should be explained that dogwood is now better known as white dogwood, neklen - as Tatar or black maple. And the prickly plum, growing from the Mordovian forests to the Black Sea coast, is still called blackthorn or blackthorn. Villages with the name Terny can be found along the entire southern border of Russia in the 17th century, from today's Tambov to Poltava regions.
"WE ARE HAPPY WITH OUR WEALTH"
If the stories about the settlement of 60 Cossack families in Terny during the reign of Elizabeth are precisely eyewitness accounts, then the village appears in documents in the last years of Catherine’s reign.
In 1789, the "Geometrical Plan" of the city of Kupensk (Kupyansk) and its district was drawn up. At that time, the environs of Kupyansk - in today's Kharkov region - belonged to the Voronezh Viceroyalty. And the city plan was "written in the Penza Land Survey Office" . Of course, there was no talk of any "sovereign cordons" between the native Great Russia and the Russian Sloboda lands.
The village of Ternovskoye on the plan of 1789 lies on the left bank of the Black Stallion River, and beyond it, along the river on the same left bank, lie other ancient villages - Yampolovskaya (Yampolovka) and Torskaya
The plan of Kupyansk and its environs, including Terny, was drawn up in 1789
The border between the Kupyansk district and the neighboring Izyum district of the Kharkov viceroyalty ran along the Black Stallion River.
Like most settlements in the South of Russia, the Black Stallion retained the structure of a "layered pie" of villages and settlements populated by Great Russians and Little Russians. And if the neighboring Yampolovka and Torskoye were "Great Russian" enclaves, then Terny was populated in the 18th century by Little Russians.
Academician Gildenshtedt, who undertook a journey in 1774, left his memories of Terny in his book: “Three miles above Yampolovka lies the Little Russian state settlement of Terny on the same river; its inhabitants moved here from Sukhareva four years ago. The Black Stallion River forms the border on the left side of the Donets between the Bakhmut and Izyum provinces with the settlement of Terny, which lies on the Zherebets River.”
An important clarification from Gildenstedt is that Terny was a state-owned settlement, i.e. it did not have a landowner, and its residents were free Little Russians who belonged exclusively to Empress Catherine II.
According to economic notes from the early 19th century (analogous to modern cadastral data), Terny was inhabited by military inhabitants who lived in 50 households (200 men and 195 women).
The following commentary is contained in this source about the land and its inhabitants: "The soil of the land is black earth, the best grain that grows from it is rye, wheat, barley and oats, and other seeds are average, along the Zherebets River and in the ravines there are good hayfields. The inhabitants who practice arable farming are content with their prosperity."
GRAY AND BLACK ARE GOING TO PARIS
Terny was not spared by the "storm of the twelfth year" and the Foreign Campaign of the Russian Army of 1813-1814. In 1812, 14 recruits were taken from Krasnyanskaya Volost of Kupyansk District to fight Napoleon (including one fighter from Terny), and in 1813, 56 recruits were taken (including four from Terny).
In the archives we find a document from April 30, 1812 - 18-year-old Foma Levchenko was taken from Terny. And on October 29, 1813, 21-year-old Ivan Rybalka, 26-year-old Tit Seroy, 19-year-old Semyon Cherny and 19-year-old Nikolai Eremenko were taken back into the army.
These villagers with Little Russian or Cossack surnames had a chance to reach Paris with the Russian army that was smashing “Bonaparte”.
Terny is also mentioned in the pages of the history of military settlements , which are associated with the name of Count Alexei Andreevich Arakcheev .
In the first half of the turbulent year of 1825, the state-owned village of Terny was transferred from the Civil Department to the Military Department, among the villages and farmsteads “assigned to the composition” of the regimental districts of the 2nd Cuirassier Division.
ACCORDING TO ARAKCHEEV'S RANKING
Terny and neighboring Yampolovka were "sponsored" by the Pskov Cuirassier Regiment, which was settled in this area. It had 460 local residents under its control (360 people in Terny and 154 people in Yampolovka). The quarters of the commander of the 2nd reserve squadron of the Pskov Cuirassier Regiment were located in Terny itself. The residents of Terny, including their property, were transferred from the subordination of the Kharkov Treasury Chamber to the Headquarters of Military Settlements.
At the same time, a census was conducted “with an indication of how much property each of the villagers had in terms of grain, livestock, buildings, and other things.”
Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich, chief of the Glukhovsky cuirassier regiment
Thus, according to this census, in Terny there were 127 households, nine gardens, four horses, 97 pairs of oxen, 171 units of cattle, 351 sheep, 59 beehives, 239 pigs, 888 units of “various birds”, and one windmill.
A difficult time came for the residents - the period of military settlement, which lasted from 1825 to 1857. In 1828, the districts changed, and Terny became part of the settlement of the Glukhovsky Cuirassier Regiment, whose chief in 1832 was Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich - the younger brother of Tsar Nicholas I.
The regiment received the second name “His Imperial Highness Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich”, the regimental center remained the settlement of Kremennaya, renamed Novo-Glukhov.
During the period of military settlements, the lives of the native inhabitants were subject to a strict military regime. In addition to performing mandatory household work and supplying the regiment with all the necessary provisions, a private of the regiment was "settled" in each household.
The appearance of populated areas also changed.
In 1837, a project plan for the regular arrangement of the Ternov settlement was approved. It was completely rebuilt - a straight system of streets with identical residential buildings and vegetable gardens of military settlers was introduced, and the necessary buildings for the regiment were erected.
The new buildings according to the 1837 plan were: a stable with an ammunition shed (ammunition warehouse) and a store, a riding arena with stables, houses for senior officers, houses for widows and orphans, a pub, forges, a bathhouse, barns, stores, and guardhouses.
The newly laid streets received their new names: Lugovaya, Limanskaya, Novoglukhovskaya (leading to the settlement of Kremennaya - Novy Glukhov), Torskaya, Novoekaterynoslavskaya (leading through all of Terny to the neighboring regimental center of Svatova Luchka, also known as Novy Yekaterinoslav), Slobodskaya. Two large squares appeared, more resembling a military parade ground - Nikolaevskaya and Manezhnaya. Nikolaevskaya surrounded the central place of Terny - the Nikolaevskaya Church, Manezhnaya - was located near the stables with a riding arena and an old cemetery.
The population of Terny also grew. According to the confessional list of 1841, compiled before Easter, the flock numbered 1,452 men and 1,545 women. Moreover, among the parishioners of the St. Nicholas Church in the settlement of Terny are also listed residents of the neighboring village of Yampolovka (former Great Russian single-farmers), who did not have a church in their settlement.
The priest in Terny in 1841 was Mikhail Ioannovich Popov, 35 years old.
In 1850, the priest in Terny was already Semyon Vasilyevich Belikov, 29 years old, and the wife of the previous priest, Alexandra Nikolaevna Popova with children, was listed as a widow. In 1850, the number of parishioners and clergy was 1,665 men and 1,563 women (including the village of Yampolovka).
In the last quarter of the 19th century, the parish of the St. Nicholas Church in the village of Terny included the villages of Yampolovka, Nevskaya, Ivanovka, Rezvanovka, Ternovaya and part of the village of Sadovoye. The total number of parishioners and clergy was 3,733 people (1,856 men and 1,877 women). According to the confessional list of 1875, the rector of the church in Terny was still the 54-year-old priest Belikov.
HOMELAND OF TWO HEROES
As you can see, the history of Terny is closely connected with Russia (not Little Russia), its inhabitants faithfully served the Tsar and the country. There were also hard times in the life of Terny, especially during the period of military settlements 1825-1857, but the inhabitants bravely endured all the difficulties. The 20th century brought new trials.
Soviet sources noted that Soviet power was organized in Terny already in November 1917, and at the same time a Red Guard detachment of 40 fighters was assembled in the village - which, most likely, joined the army of the Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Republic. The sources are silent on how many villagers fought on the side of other forces in the Civil War in the South of Russia.
But it is known for sure that, as during the Patriotic War of 1812, during the Great Patriotic War, the residents of Terny gave their lives for their homeland. 509 residents of the village fought on the fronts, 312 died, 120 people were awarded orders and medals. Two Heroes of the Soviet Union came from this small village.
The commander of the motorized rifle brigade Ivan Ostroverkhov took part in the defense of Moscow, in the Battle of Stalingrad, in the battles on the Kursk Bulge, liberated Kiev and the Right Bank of the Dnieper, and died in Romania in 1944.
Pilot Andrei Bordyugov , a flight commander of attack aircraft, had completed more than 120 successful combat sorties by the spring of 1945. At the very end of the war, during a combat mission in Latvia, Senior Lieutenant Bordyugov's plane was shot down by German anti-aircraft gunners, but the pilot managed to reach the airfield.
Hero of the Soviet Union Bordyugov lived a long life, in the 1960s he was the chief of staff of the 1st Guards Fighter-Bomber Aviation Regiment in Lebyazhye (Volgograd Region). He died in 2003 in Chernigov, fortunately not having time to witness the full-scale revival of Nazism in Ukraine.
Terny preserved the memory of its heroes, monuments to soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War and an obelisk in honor of fellow villagers who died during the Nazi occupation were erected here. Now that the village has been liberated from modern occupiers and Terny has returned to its homeland, we believe that the memorials will be restored and historical continuity will be revived.
[REDSTATE] Things didn't go according to plan for Republicans on Tuesday in Wisconsin. In an all-important Supreme Court race, liberal Susan Crawford prevailed, beating Brad Schimel by a sizable margin despite everyone from President Donald Trump ...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party... to Elon Musk getting involved.
The stakes were high, given the far-reaching political implications. Crawford's win gives the Democrats ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... a 4-3 majority, and it is expected that they'll force congressional redistricting that will cost Republicans two House seats before the 2026 election even takes place. With the margin already so thin, that could prove decisive in who gets the majority.
Naturally, Democrats rushed to gloat, seeing the win as a change in the political winds, and one of them was Kamala Harris What can be, unburdened by what has been . For reasons that weren't immediately clear, she released a TikTok video about the election, and let's just say she really shouldn't have.
HARRIS: Hi, Wisconsin, to all of you. I just wanted to pop by to say thank you. You all are just extraordinary. You love our country. You care. You are making such extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of so many people, on behalf of communities, on behalf of people you may never meet. There is an unelected billionaire who should not and will not have a greater voice than the working people of Wisconsin.
If it seems like she's toasted there, it's probably because she very well might be. She truly has a way with words, doesn't she? Why voters rejected her at the ballot box in the 2024 election remains one of the greatest political mysteries in history. Alas, we may never know how being "Brat" wasn't enough to pull her over the finish line.
There's a bit of irony in Harris chiming in about this specific race, given that she lost Wisconsin. Did the voters there love their country and care when they rejected her? The entire thing is just weird, but I guess Harris feels like she's got to keep her face out there to set up a 2028 run. We all know she's going to, and she continues to lead Democrat primary polls, though it's very early.
On that note, it should be pointed out that almost all of her liabilities as a politician are present in that video. Her grating tone, her repetition of words, her reliance on focus-grouped talking points, so on and so forth. The whole "unelected billionaire" gambit Democrats are using is just lame. Every single government bureaucrat is "unelected," and while Musk was involved in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, so were at least four Democrat billionaires, including George Soros ...either Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Auric Goldfinger come true. Maybe both.... .

The Dem ads pounded on Musk giving $3M to the Schimel campaign (Trying to buy the election!, etc.), while Schimel's own ads said nothing about the $25M Crawford's campaign received from George Soros and JB Pritzker.
Some smaller conservative PACs did note this in their ads, but those didn't get much airtime.

[TOWNHALL] Federal prosecutors have charged an Iranian company and two Iranian nationals with trying to funnel money to the country's military while obtaining U.S. technology to improve drones.
The Justice Department made the announcement on Tuesday.
A criminal complaint was unsealed today charging Hossein Akbari, 63, and Reza Amidi, 62, both of Iran, and an Iranian company, Rah Roshd Company (Rah Roshd), with conspiring to procure U.S. parts for Iranian Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs, also known as drones), conspiring to provide material support to the IRGC — a designated foreign terrorist organization — and conspiring to commit money laundering.
Akbari is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rah Roshd. Amidi is the company's commercial manager and was previously the commercial manager of Qods Aviation Industries (QAI), an Iranian state-owned aerospace company. They are both citizens of Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and remain on the lam.
Sue J. Bai, head of the DOJ's National Security Division, explained, ''Today's charges lay bare how U.S.-made technology ended up in the hands of the Iranian military to build attack drones.''
U.S. Attorney John J. Durham noted that ''the defendants conspired to obtain U.S.-origin parts needed to manufacture drones for military use in Iran and send those parts to Iran in violation of export control laws.''
He further explained: ''The IRGC and QAI have been core players in the Iranian military regime's production of drones, which threaten the lives of civilians, U.S. personnel and our country's allies.''

When you raise a nation of deliberately dumb-down, and suicidally prone minions. Then new technology or innovations must be stolen.
Makes me wonder if this is why IRAN sends selected elite circle family students here for Ivy League education and exposure?
Seems the 'manifesto' went the way of Epstein's guest list and Hunter's laptop
[FoxNews] Audrey Hale kept multiple journals about motive, but no highly anticipated 'manifesto,' police say
Nashville police have released their final report on the Covenant School massacre – a targeted March 2023 attack on a Christian school by a transgender shooter who killed three third-graders and three adults.
Rather than a highly anticipated manifesto, the report found that killer Audrey Hale left behind numerous notebooks, art books and computer documents about her plans to commit the attack and gain notoriety, partly inspired by the Columbine school shooting in 1999.
Hale, the 28-year-old attacker and biological female, began "fantasizing" about and researching mass shootings as far back as 2017, according to investigators. A year later, she wrote "detailed fantasies" about shooting up the Isaac T. Creswell Middle Magnet School for the Arts, killing her father and killing her psychiatrist.
"In this case, a manifesto didn’t exist," the document reads. "Hale never left behind a single document explaining why she committed the attack, why she specifically targeted The Covenant, and what she hoped to gain, if anything, with the attack."
Instead, her motivations were scattered across those many notebooks and other writings, investigators found. They included an image showing more than two-dozen notebooks seized from Hale's car and bedroom. They also said she left a suicide note addressed to her parents.
Read the Nashville police report:
"In short, the motive determined over the course of the investigation was notoriety," according to investigators. "Even though numerous disappointments in relationships, career aspirations, and independence fueled her depression, and even though this depression made her highly suicidal, this doesn’t explain the attack. As Hale wrote on several occasions, if suicide was her goal then she would have simply killed herself."
Hale wanted people to remember her after her death, according to the document, and was partly inspired by books and documentaries on the Columbine killers. She wanted similar records of her own life and expected her guns, artwork and journals to be preserved in museums around the world.
"Most disturbingly, she wanted the things she left behind to be shared with the world so she could inspire and teach others who were ‘mentally disordered’ like her to plan and commit an attack of their own," investigators wrote.
Because of Hale's consistent diaries over a period of years, police said they were able to collect far more information about her than in a typical investigation. They found no evidence of accomplices and said she wanted to prove her "superiority."
The Covenant School was attached to a church that Hale once attended, and she chose the target because of her connection to it, because children wouldn't put up a fight, and because she wanted to obtain infamy, according to police.
She killed three 9-year-olds: the pastor's daughter Hallie Scruggs, Evelyn Dieckhaus and William Kinney. The three adults she killed were 60-year-old Head of School Katherine Koonce, Cynthia Peak, 61, and Mike Hill, 61.
Her biggest fear in the attack, at 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 120 pounds, was running into a "hero" who could physically overpower her and force her to be captured alive.
So she settled on an elementary school that she described as the setting for her "happiest" childhood memories.
"She never remarked of being bullied and ostracized there; on the contrary, she remarked on a couple of occasions how she established friendships, which included play-dates at the homes of other children and a sense of acceptance," police revealed. "She gave no examples of how anyone at the school belittled her or harmed her, as she did in other places she attended school. Because of this, Hale felt The Covenant was the perfect place to commit an attack, as it was the perfect setting for her death."
The killer also had plans for "B" and "C" targets – the Opry Mills Mall and a stretch of Belmont Boulevard near Belmont University campus in Nashville. If her parents discovered her plans, she decided she would kill them and attack the Belmont target, according to investigators.
She spent months practicing at the firing range and painted the phrase "Dark Abyss" on her clothes and guns. That was the name she had given to her depression.
But the attack was delayed multiple times, including once after the death of a close friend in a car crash.
Hale, who began using the name "Aiden Williams" in the years before her death, was killed by responding officers in harrowing bodycam video.
"Hale felt she would be a failure if she killed less than 10 people during the attack. In that respect, she did fail, in no small part due to the actions of the faculty and staff at The Covenant," police wrote. "But she managed to attain the notoriety she craved simply by self-documenting her life and actions in a way no other mass killer has done before."

So, after refusing to release the manifesto, and threatening legal action, it turns out there isn't one... Are they trying to force people into conspiracy theories?

[BREITBART] Ontario Premier Doug Ford said Wednesday on CNBC's ''Squawk Box'' that if President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... removes tariffs, Canada will drop all of their tariffs.
Host Andrew Ross Sorkin said, ''Do you expect this to be a negotiation? meaning there has been a sense, implied or otherwise, that we're going to hear a number, whether it's 20% or something else, as a sort of top, and that if folks like yourself come forward and say, you know what, we're going to take some tariffs off of this and we're going to do this, perhaps that those tariff numbers come down?''
Ford said, ''Well, let's hope so. Let's sit down and discuss this because it's just going to hurt American jobs. I can't stress it enough and you know again he believes he's supporting Americans. He said he was going to create jobs, create wealth, reduce inflation it's worked the total opposite.''
Ross Sorkin said, ''But do you think it's fair that you have tariffs on a whole number of products.''
Ford said, ''That's right. And we'd be willing to take those off tomorrow if he took all the tariffs off. We are not the problem. Andrew do you know the problem is? China is the problem. And he's taking a blind eye to China as they continue to build their critical mass. We have all the critical minerals that our great neighbors need. we have the energy that our great neighbors need.''
Ross Sorkin said, ''I just want to go back for a moment. If, in fact, you're prepared to take your tariffs off, why wouldn't you have that negotiation and that conversation now before any tariffs get put in place?''
Ford said, ''Well, we've had we've had this conversation for over the last month we don't want tariffs. We have another $65 billion with a tariffs to launch today. That's the last thing we want to do because it's just again it's going to hurt both countries. It's going to hurt American workers.''
It's trade deficit divided by their exports.
EU: exports 605.8, imports 370.2, deficit -235.6.
-235.6/605.8 = 39%. "Reciprocal tariff is 20%)
If trade deficit is 10% or less (including surplus), 10% are applied, even for islands with no inhabitants.
Sorry folks, Trump should have chosen April 1st for this (and I'm being polite here).

The other math is focused on unemployment. Pay a higher price for goods but reduce unemployment and the inefficient bureaucracy that maintains it or pay a lower price for goods and increase unemployment and the inefficient bureaucracy for sustaining it. Social stability is greater in the former state rather then in the latter state.
I don't think so. In Trump's world, someone has to lose when he wins. This may work in NY real estate, it doesn't work for world economy. Trump can only think of "others are ripping us off", because that's what he likes to do himself.
But trade should be beneficial for both side. A good "deal" is a win for both.
My U.S. customers don't feel "cheated". They buy a good product they need and pay a fair price for it. The U.S. doesn't produce it, so now they will have to pay the tariff that comes with it. I'm not going to lower my price one cent. My price is fair.
So the U.S. government is ripping off its own people. Enjoy.

I don't apparently buy your product, EC, so continuing not to buy it won't phase me. Your customers will look for other sources if your price + tariff is too high. Enjoy.

2010 F-150 4.6L @ 189,000 miles, runs like a top. Purchased with 22,000 miles for $18,000 in 2012. Like to have a new one but like to have the $75,000 better.

"Back in the 1960s, for example, the U.S. was unhappy with a German tax on imported chicken, so in retaliation, policymakers imposed a 25% tariff on all imported pickup trucks.
That pickup truck tariff is still in place more than 50 years later. Until this week, it was ten times the tax on imported cars.
As a result, domestic carmakers have focused on building big pickup trucks that don't face foreign competition, while largely ignoring the more hotly contested market for sedans."

In Trump's world, someone has to lose when he wins.
Although Mr Trump and I have never spoken, I do not think he looks at things that way. A deal is a win-win, both parties get something and are better off than before the deal. Otherwise, why make it?
What is Trump's goal here? What is the desired end state?
Possibly to wreck the world economy, though I rate that one real low. Amidst the chaos and noise, we see certain of our trading partners dropping tariffs altogether. Is it possible the end goal is a free trade network with no tariffs whatsoever?
Governments impose tariffs to protect domestic industries from foreign competition. Sometimes, it is an industry considered strategic, like rice in Japan. Sometimes, to appease or reward political friends, like a worker's union. And let us not forget the government revenue aspect - why tax your own citizens when you can tax foreigners? Either way, it is a market distortion.

Very happy with my Cadillac Escalade (2024).
This is all so stupid.

In 2021 when my 2001 Chevy Tahoe died (350,000 miles) I bought a 2021 GLE450. GM was gouging on the large SUV market due to covid and it was cheaper to buy the Mercedes than a Tahoe. Mrs Unvaxed drives mostly.

Our best, most reliable ally today is Japan. Happily they make great cars, with an eye toward continuous improvement, and they build them in the USA.

[GEO.TV] Myanmar's junta said on Wednesday its troops fired warning shots at a Chinese Red Thingy aid convoy, underlining the challenge of delivering relief amid a civil war as aid groups called for better access to help survivors of a devastating earthquake.
The military has struggled to run Myanmar following its coup against the elected civilian government of Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi in 2021, reducing the economy and basic services including healthcare to tatters after civil war broke out.
Junta spokesperson Zaw Min Tun said the Chinese Red Thingy had not informed authorities it was in a conflict zone on Tuesday night, and a security team fired shots in the air after the convoy, which included local vehicles, failed to stop.
A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said the aid team and supplies were safe, and called on all parties in Myanmar to ensure the safety of rescuers.
"It's necessary to keep transportation routes for relief efforts open and unobstructed," Guo Jiakun told a presser.

[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] A Boston judge has held a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in contempt for executing his duty to detain an undocumented Democrat during an ongoing trial.
On Thursday, March 27, 2025, ICE agents, ICE agent Brian Sullivan apprehended Wilson Martell-Lebron, a Dominican national illegally residing in the United States, as he exited the Boston Municipal Court.
Martell-Lebron, a Dominican national residing illegally in the country using fake identity, was on his second trial for charges related to falsifying information on a driver's license application.
Despite the gravity of his alleged offenses, Boston's lenient policies had allowed him to remain free until ICE agents, led by Agent Brian Sullivan, apprehended him outside the courthouse.
But instead of applause for upholding our borders, a Massachusetts state court judge—yet another cog in the radical left's sanctuary machine—had the gall to hold an ICE agent in contempt.
Boston Municipal Court Judge Mark Summerville held Agent Sullivan in contempt, accusing him of violating Martell-Lebron's so-called rights to due process and a fair trial.

[FoxNews] In 2024 alone, the firms collectively donated $4M to political campaigns, 99% of which were for Democrat candidates or Democrat-allied committees
One of the country’s leading consumer protection firms released a report today exposing a "shady lawyer pipeline" of politicians handing out lucrative public contracts to trial lawyers, who in turn contribute millions of dollars to liberal political campaigns, including $1.4 million to the Harris-Walz campaign in 2024.
The report, released by Alliance for Consumers (AFC), highlights the deep Democratic ties of eight major consumer protection law firms — Morgan & Morgan, Lieff Cabraser, Motley Rice, Baron & Budd, Grant & Eisenhofer, Berger Montague, Cohen Milstein and Simmons Hanly — which it dubs the "Shady Eight."
According to AFC, these firms hold profitable public contracts across the country and contributed around $25 million in political donations from 2017 through 2024.
In 2024 alone, the firms collectively donated $4 million to political campaigns, 99% of which were for Democrat candidates or Democrat-allied committees.
During the 2024 presidential election, the firms contributed $1.4 million to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign.
The shady eight also prioritized midterm Senate races, the report found, with Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., and former Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio; Bob Casey, D–Pa.; and Jon Tester, D–Mont., receiving the largest contributions next to Harris.
Five of the firms — Lieff Cabraser, Motley Rice, Grant & Eisenhofer, Simmons Hanly and Baron & Budd — showed a 100% commitment to Democrats and their allies, generating more than $2.5 million in federal donations in 2024.
"The consumer should never be on the losing side of a left-wing political money game like what is on display in the Shady Trial Lawyer Pipeline," AFC says in its report. "This partisan political giving is supported by money from public contracts signed by politicians and public officials; money that belongs to the taxpayers and consumers."
AFC said "the ‘Shady Eight’ are stark examples — although far from the only ones — of how the Shady Trial Lawyer Pipeline works, with politicians feeding sweetheart contracts to trial lawyers who give 99% of their political donations to liberals and will happily turn around and pump millions of dollars into left-leaning candidates, committees, and allied organizations."
