US Courts to review Afghan Immigration Cases, says White House
[KhaamaPress] The White House announced U.S. courts will individually review Afghan immigration cases as temporary protection status for many is ending soon.

Karoline Leavitt, White House spokesperson, announced that Afghan immigration cases in the United States will be reviewed by courts. The announcement, made during a presser on April 22, emphasized that Afghan migrants colonists who received temporary protected status during the Biden administration will soon see their protections end.

Leavitt clarified that Afghan individuals who entered the U.S. and applied for asylum will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the courts. This development follows the expiration of temporary protections that were granted during the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.

She also noted that the President Donald Trump
...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania...
aims to organize and legalize the immigration process in the U.S., suggesting potential changes to how immigration cases, including those of Afghan refugees, are handled.

Fox News previously reported that the deportation of Afghan migrants colonists could leave hundreds of Afghan Christians at risk of facing Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
persecution. This situation has sparked concerns among religious leaders in the U.S. who have called on Trump to halt deportations until a clear solution for Afghan migrants colonists is found.

In response to growing concerns, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has revoked temporary protections for approximately 11,000 Afghan migrants colonists, warning them of imminent deportation. This has created a sense of uncertainty for many, especially those fearing retaliation from the Taliban if they are sent back to Afghanistan.

The decision to end temporary protections for Afghan migrants colonists marks a significant shift in U.S. immigration policy. While some are advocating for the protection of vulnerable groups, others see this as a necessary step toward reforming immigration systems. The growing tension surrounding Afghan deportations highlights the challenges faced by the U.S. government in addressing both humanitarian concerns and immigration laws.

As the legal process unfolds, it will be crucial to monitor how these cases are adjudicated and whether further protective measures will be implemented. The situation remains fluid, and the potential for policy shifts or legal challenges remains high. The U.S. government’s approach to Afghan migration will likely have long-lasting implications for both the Afghan diaspora and the broader immigration debate in the country.

U.S. conducts airstrikes on vessel carrying weapons to al-Shabaab – AFRICOM
[ShabelleMedia] The U.S. military carried out Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...

... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
bandidos gunnies in Somali territorial waters, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) said on Tuesday.

The operation, conducted on April 16 in coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, targeted a flagless vessel and a smaller support boat, AFRICOM said in a statement.

The weapons on board were intended for the al-Qaeda-linked group and posed an "imminent threat" to Somali and U.S. forces in the region, the command added.

"No civilians were harmed, according to an initial assessment," AFRICOM said, adding that specific details of the units and assets involved would not be released for security reasons.

Al-Shabaab has been fighting for years to topple the Somali government and impose its own strict interpretation of Islamic law. The U.S. regularly conducts airstrikes in Somalia in support of Somali government forces.

Palestinian man indicted on suspicion of assisting with botched bus bombing spree earlier this year
[IsraelTimes] Military prosecutors today indicted a Paleostinian man suspected of having helped carry out a botched bus bombing spree in the suburbs of Tel Aviv two months ago, police and Shin Bet spokespeople announce.

The defendant, a resident of Nablus in his 30s, is the brother of the suspected terrorist said to have planted the explosives on three buses in Bat Yam. His brother has not yet been caught by police.

On February 20, three empty buses went kaboom! one after the other in parking lots in the Tel Aviv suburb of Bat Yam. The timed devices were apparently supposed to have detonated Friday morning when the buses were in use, but went off early. Giora Eiland, a former IDF operations chief, speculated that the timers were incorrectly set.

According to the indictment submitted today, the suspect helped prepare the bombs used in the failed attack, and helped his brother hide from Israeli authorities after he planted the explosives on buses.

Police say that military prosecutors will indict three more suspects, all residents of Nablus in their 30s, over the next two days. All three are suspected of having helped plan the attack in advance.

Six arrested at small anti-war protest in Haifa
[IsraelTimes] Police arrest six demonstrators at a small Haifa anti-war protest tonight.

In a statement, police allege protesters disturbed the peace by waving signs and chanting slogans "condemning Israel and its actions in the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
But protesters insist the demonstration remained peaceful
…”mostly peaceful”…
and was forcibly dispersed by cops within a few minutes after it started.

Itay Gavish, who attended the protest this evening, tells The Times of Israel that police explicitly told him not to hold signs with the phrases "genocide," "massacre," or "ethnic cleansing."

Earlier this week, law enforcement sought to forbid protesters from waving hostage posters, pictures of Gazan children and certain slogans referring to “genocide” and “ethnic cleansing” as a condition for their approval of a Tel Aviv anti-war demonstration this Thursday.

They soon backtracked on their demands, but cops on the ground regularly confiscate what they deem “incendiary” signs at anti-war demonstrations.

Illegal Aliens Are Self-Deporting
[FrontPage] Self-deportation alone is not going to solve America’s illegal alien problem, but it can help, and even the media’s getting around to reporting on it.

Celeste traveled from Peru to the U.S. two decades ago, then a young woman of 19, and overstayed her tourist visa... So, Celeste has made a tough decision: She will continue cleaning offices and saving money for just a few more months, and return to Peru by year’s end.

About 100 miles southeast, Maria, also an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, said that after 30 years in the Coachella Valley, she, too, plans to return to her home country and try to forge a new life in the western state of Michoacán.

Luz Gallegos, executive director of TODEC Legal Center in the Inland Empire, said her staff members talk "daily" with folks who are considering leaving. "What comes up a lot in the sessions is, ’Prefiero irme con algo, que irme sin nada,’" Gallegos said. "I’d rather leave with something than leave with nothing."

But more accurately, many of these people never really left Mexico. They function more like guest workers, which, thanks to Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,’s pro-illegal alien system, allows them endless welfare benefits.

Elena, an unauthorized Mexican immigrant who has lived in the Inland Empire for nearly two decades, said she and her husband are among those who have decided to self-deport. They will move back to their homeland in the southern state of Chiapas by Christmas... in Chiapas, they have nearly five acres of land, where they hope to build a ranch, raise animals and grow crops.

"Many people have said that maybe I will feel more free there," she said from the kitchen of her tidy home, "because here you feel chained up. You want to do many things, but you can’t."

Mexico. Land of the free. If they have five acres of land, it’s likely they’ve been going back and forth for a while. Now they’re going home.

Over to NYC.

A Colombian mother of a ninth grader had planned to move her family out of their Brooklyn migrant shelter at the end of the school year.

That was before she got a menacing email from Customs and Border Patrol last week telling her she had seven days to leave the country.

"A fear enters you," she said in Spanish. "I’m leaving once and for all with my family, before it gets any uglier here."

She and her family packed their bags and left Wednesday, intending to make their way to Canada to reunite with family members there.

But the hedge here comes from the anchor babies.

Sitting at her kitchen table in Durham, N.C., a woman who goes by "S." lets out a deep sigh, recalling the first few days of the second Trump administration.

Both S. and her husband are immigrants colonists without legal status in the U.S., which is why she’s asked NPR to withhold her full name. Their two children are U.S. citizens.

They haven’t reached a decision yet. But they said they started hearing about other Latino parents in their community getting children their U.S. passports — so in case they leave, the kids can later return. S. and her husband decided to do the same.

...a woman named Melina walked by: a Mexican woman, also without legal status in the U.S. — she asked that her last name be withheld. She mentioned she’d gotten her children their passports and is hoping to leave soon.

Pastor Julie Contreras, who created the food bank in Waukegan, said she’s been hearing from so many parishioners considering self-deportation, she’s planning on holding information sessions about how to get your U.S.-born children their passports.

That has to be the next step. Children born to illegal parents cannot be considered legal let alone citizens.

Houthi missile sends a million Israelis on 4 a.m. scramble to bomb shelters
[IsraelTimes] IDF reports incoming rocket from Yemen ‘probably intercepted successfully’; no reports of damage or direct injuries, some hurt in early-morning dash to safety

Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
rebels set off sirens early Wednesday morning, sending some one million people rushing for the safety of bomb shelters.

The Israel Defense Forces said the missile was "probably intercepted successfully" by air defenses. Alerts are sounded as a precaution against falling missile and interceptor debris, which has in the past caused injuries and even death.

Sirens went off at 4 a.m. in Haifa and the surrounding area, as well as the Western Galilee region. Explosions from the interceptions were heard in Haifa and the Sharon region.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service reported no direct injuries from the attack or impacts from debris, but said paramedics treated a number of people who were maimed while rushing for shelter.

The Israel Police said officers were ready to look for fallen debris if any was reported to its emergency call center. Police warned the public not to approach any debris as it may contain explosives.

Weekend Hamas ambush lays bare vulnerability of Israeli-held Gaza buffer zone
[IsraelTimes] Well-armed terror cell likely knew of IDF logistics road near border, where unarmored vehicles drive to one of over a dozen static army posts inside Strip

On Saturday, a Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
cell of at least six operatives emerged from a tunnel on the side of a road in the northern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip. The well-armed terror operatives hid in the shrubbery, waiting as Israeli military vehicles passed by, then opened fire with rocket-propelled grenades and gunfire at one they misidentified as belonging to a senior commander.

The unarmored army car was flipped over on the side of the road. Three servicewomen, including an officer, were seriously maimed inside it, with no other forces in the area to return fire.

After the attack on the vehicle, the terror operatives laid a bomb on the side of the road and detonated it when rescue forces arrived around 25 minutes later, killing a soldier, Warrant Officer G’haleb Sliman Alnasasra, and seriously wounding another.

The Hamas button men were able to flee back through the tunnel they emerged from, as other operatives stationed further away shelled the area with mortars.

The tunnel used in the attack had already been discovered by the Israel Defense Forces, and the army was in the process of mapping it out and demolishing it. Hamas apparently realized it would soon lose the tunnel and decided to use it in the deadly attack.

This incident did not occur on the frontlines deep inside Gaza.

Rather, it took place in an Israeli-held buffer zone along the border, close to the town of Beit Hanoun in the Strip’s northeast, an area that the IDF has operated in repeatedly since the beginning of the war.

The Hamas operatives did not randomly stumble on the IDF logistics road where the attack was carried out.

The road leads to one of the military’s forward posts inside the Strip, which are aimed at providing better defenses for Israeli border communities and being the first line of contact for potential Hamas attacks on Israel.

Hamas more than likely knew of the semi-permanent IDF position near Beit Hanoun — one of more than a dozen in the Israeli-held buffer zone — and of the logistics road where unarmored vehicles drive on, like the one the operatives targeted.

Unlike the frontlines, the military’s positions inside the buffer zone are static and exposed to Hamas rocket and mortar fire. The roads leading to them are known to Hamas, whose operatives spend days tracking the movement of Israeli vehicles inside Gaza.

When the IDF held the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza and was stationed in several semi-permanent forward operating bases, Hamas would shell the sites relatively frequently with mortars. The terror group also tried to launch assaults on small posts inside the corridor several times.

Amid the latest offensive in Gaza, the IDF’s buffer zone in Gaza has been expanding, reaching up to around two kilometers (1.2 miles) in most areas. In addition, the military is in the process of conquering the entire city of Rafah, which will also be included within the buffer zone.

Currently, the IDF holds more than 30 percent of the Strip’s territory, a figure expected to rise as the fighting continues. Additional army posts are also likely to be constructed in the buffer zone, as Israel seeks to better its defenses on the Gaza border.

With semi-permanent posts inside Gaza, and Hamas determined to launch attacks on troops, an incident like Saturday’s is likely to recur, unless the IDF makes changes to its deployment and operations in the buffer zone.

Israel remains optimistic that military pressure in Gaza is working and that Hamas wants a deal to end the fighting, the source added. A working-level Israeli team was in Cairo on Monday to speak with mediators.

According to the Qatari newspaper al-Araby al-Jadeed, the Israeli delegation arrived in Cairo Sunday evening seeking a breakthrough in the negotiations. The delegation reportedly met with senior Egyptian officials.

Echoing earlier reporting, the Qatari news outlet said Tuesday that Egypt and Qatar have put forward a new deal proposal, which would include a seven-year ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, a full IDF withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages and a declaration by Hamas that it had "laid down its weapons."

Egyptian sources cited by the newspaper said that the plan would not see any mass displacement of Paleostinians from Gaza, and that Washington has given its commitment to pressure Israel to agree to the deal, with efforts underway to finalize things before US President Donald Trump

a Hamas delegation left for Cairo on Tuesday to discuss "new ideas" aimed at securing a ceasefire, an official from the group said.

The Hamas delegation, led by the group’s chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya, "will meet with Egyptian officials to discuss new ideas aimed at reaching a ceasefire," said the official.

Two sources familiar with the mediation effort said the delegation would discuss a new offer that would include a truce for 5 to 7 years following the release of all hostages and an end to fighting. The sources said Israel had yet to respond to a revamped long-term truce proposal.

Channel 12 reported Tuesday that several more hardline members of the cabinet were pushing for Israel to launch a mass call-up of reserves ahead of a major military operation. However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the security chiefs believe that the current limited military operation to pressure Hamas was working and that there was still scope to give talks a chance to secure the release of the hostages.

The Times of Israel reported Sunday that Hamas was willing to agree to halt all military operations, including the development of weapons and the digging of tunnels, in exchange for a long-term ceasefire.

To enforce the halt on military activities against Israel, some Hamas officials have indicated willingness to have all of the group’s weapons placed in a guarded warehouse, according to an Arab diplomat.

Hamas is also willing to cede governing control of Gaza to an independent body of Paleostinian technocrats, as envisioned by an Egyptian proposal for the postwar administration of the Strip, officials speaking to The Times of Israel said.

Last week, Hamas rejected a "partial" Israeli ceasefire proposal that was conveyed to the group but stated its willingness to discuss a broader deal that would include ending the war.

Qatar, with the United States and Egypt, brokered a truce in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, which began on January 19 and enabled a surge in aid, alongside exchanges of hostages and Paleostinian prisoners.

But the truce collapsed after disagreements over the terms of the next stage. Hamas had insisted that negotiations be held on a second phase of the truce, leading to a permanent end to the war, while Israel sought to extend the first phase. Following the impasse, Israel blocked aid and resumed its military campaign.

An Israeli official claimed to The Times of Israel on Tuesday that Israel’s renewed campaign in Gaza is showing signs of pushing Hamas toward accepting Israeli demands at the negotiating table.

"I believe the combined pressure — military, political and logistical — is showing its effects," said the official, who is familiar with the details of the ongoing talks.

Israel continues to insist that it will not agree to an end to the war without Hamas fully disarming and its leaders going into exile.

According to Channel 13 news, the cabinet will hear updates from the ongoing negotiations, and will also discuss the possibility of expanding the military campaign in Gaza.

Trump says US won’t let Hamas play post-war governance role in Gaza

[IsraelTimes] Asked by reporters whether he will prevent Hamas from having any role in the post-war governance of Gaza and whether the terror group will have to be permanently eradicated as part of a ceasefire sought by the US, President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
responds, “We’re not going to let Hamas do that, and we’re going to see what happens with Gaza.”

Hamas officials have told mediators that they’re prepared to cede governing control of Gaza but that they won’t agree to disarm — a key demand of both Israel and the United States.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump reiterates that Hamas’s attack on October 7, 2023 — “that very special date” — would not have happened if he were president.

US targets Iranian liquefied petroleum gas magnate with sanctions
[IsraelTimesJ Treasury says Seyed Asadoollah Emamjomeh’s shipments of LPG and crude oil help fund nuclear, advanced weapons programs, and regional terror groups Hezbollah, Houthis and Hamas

The United States issued new sanctions on Tuesday targeting Iranian liquefied petroleum gas magnate Seyed Asadoollah Emamjomeh and his corporate network, the Treasury Department said, amid ongoing talks with Tehran on its nuclear program.

Emamjomeh’s network is responsible for shipping hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of Iranian LPG and crude oil to foreign markets, the Treasury said in a statement.

Both products are a major source of revenue for Iran, helping to fund its nuclear and advanced conventional weapons programs, it said, as well as regional proxy terror groups including Hezbollah, Yemen

"Emamjomeh and his network sought to export thousands of shipments of LPG — including from the United States — to evade US sanctions and generate revenue for Iran," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in the statement.

and the United States agreed on Saturday to begin drawing up a framework for a potential nuclear deal, Iran’s foreign minister said, after talks that a US official described as yielding "very good progress."

The US and Iran have held two rounds of talks, the first in Oman two weeks ago and the second in Rome last Saturday. A third round is set for this coming Saturday in Oman.

The United States has imposed sanctions on Iran previously as talks were underway.

US President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
said Tuesday he spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that he and the Israeli premier "are on the same side of every issue."

The call covered "numerous subjects including Trade, Iran, etc.," Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that it went "very well."

In an early move after returning to the White House for a second, non-consecutive term, Trump reimposed his "maximum pressure" of stiff sanctions on Iran to pressure the Islamic Theocratic Republic into negotiations about its nuclear program.

Efforts to settle a dispute over Iran’s nuclear program, which it says is purely for civilian use but which Western countries see as a precursor to an atomic bomb, have ebbed and flowed for more than 20 years without resolution.

Climate protester arrested after spray-painting over presidential insignia at Trump Tower
[NYPOST] A climate protester was busted after he spray painted the words ''USA'' over a presidential insignia inside Trump Tower Wednesday afternoon, according to law enforcement sources and video from the scene.

The man sprayed the bright green paint over the plaque inside the Midtown landmark before kneeling on the ground in front of it and closing his eyes, according to footage posted on X.

Moments after a small crowd gathered — some snapping photos of the demonstrator — a security officer approached, and the man unfurled a small banner bearing the words, ''GAME OVER'' with the symbol for the climate activist group Extinction Rebellion.

Elon Musk's Neuralink could fetch $8.5B valuation: report
[NYPOST] Elon Musk's brain implant company Neuralink is planning to raise about $500 million at a pre-money valuation of $8.5 billion, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The company has begun preliminary discussions with potential investors about the funding round, according to the report.

Terms of the funding round are not yet finalized.
The beauzeaux who're so against Musk have probably never heard of Neuralink. They used to adore Teslas until he fell in with Trump. They're not too interested in Spacex because they're the same crowd that was caterwauling that the money we'd spent on the space program putting a man on the moon should have been spent on "social program." They've forgotten who invented PayPal, and they're cheeezed that he bought Twitter and turned it into something for everyone. He's up there with Edison, Westinghouse, the Wright Brothers, Eli Whitney, and (of course) Tesla, most of whom they've never heard of.

Three blasts rock Moscow business district as car explodes in shopping mall car park
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Three loud explosions were heard at a Moscow shopping mall in the central business district after a vehicle reportedly exploded in the car park.

Videos posted by various Russian media outlets showed black smoke billowing among the district's skyscrapers on the banks of the Moskva River.

The cause of the explosion and whether anyone was in the vehicle at the time is unclear, with media reports suggesting it could have been a car explosion or a fuel cylinder accident.

Emergency services have now put out the ensuing fire.

But the SHOT news outlet have reported that the three loud explosions heard were due to fuel cylinders that exploded under 'strong pressure'.

Authorities are investigating the explosions, but initial reports say they aren’t ruling out sabotage or terrorism.

The underground parking lot where the explosion took place is in the Moscow City business district.

The incident took place just a day after a blast occurred at a Russian ammunition depot east of Moscow. Russia's military blamed the blast on ammunition which had detonated after the storage building caught fire due to a "violation of safety requirements". There were no casualties in the incident, but the site is believed to be a key ammunition storage site for the Russian army.

'The Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the city of Moscow received a message about a fire on Presnenskaya Embankment,' the Ministry of Emergency Situations said after the initial explosion.

'A car is burning in the underground parking lot of an administrative building.'

Moscow has been targeted by car bombings and attacks since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.

In late 2022, a car bombing just outside of Moscow killed ultranationalist Russian Darya Dugina, the daughter of a Putin ally.

This is a breaking news story. More to follow...

Jordan bans Muslim Brotherhood, seizes assets over security concerns
Thanx and a tip o' the hat to our indispensible Grom!
[YNETNEWS] Interior Minister Mazen al-Faraya said in a statement that members of the Brotherhood were involved in activities that threatened national stability. He cited the recent discovery of explosive materials and short-range rockets, calling them ''unacceptable to any sovereign state.''
We need a Black April or Black May
Effective immediately, Jordan will enforce legal measures against the Brotherhood, declaring the movement an illegal organization, seizing its assets, and shutting down its offices. Al-Faraya warned that membership in the group is now prohibited and promoting its ideology may lead to prosecution.

Government sources told Reuters that police had already begun carrying out the order and had confiscated Brotherhood property.

The decision comes a week after Jordan announced the arrest of 16 individuals suspected of producing missiles and possessing explosives. Authorities said the suspects were trained and financed by foreign sources and aimed to destabilize the country. At least some of those detained were said to be affiliated with the Brotherhood and Hamas.

The Brotherhood has operated legally in Jordan for decades and maintains widespread popular support, particularly in urban areas. The group holds offices across the country and has historically played a prominent political role.

According to a report by the Saudi newspaper Elaph, which operates out of London, Israel provided Jordan with intelligence about the militant network following years of surveillance. Israeli security services reportedly shared documents and evidence with Jordanian officials, leading to several arrests. Other suspects are believed to have fled to East Asia.

Israeli defense officials have repeatedly warned that Iran has increased weapons smuggling through Jordan and is attempting to establish a presence in the kingdom. They also say terror-enabling resources—such as cash—are being funneled through Jordan to armed groups in the West Bank.

The Brotherhood and affiliated groups have previously been accused of supporting anti-government protests in Jordan, which is home to a large Palestinian population.

Security forces seize guns, swords from women's clothing store in Hebron
[Jpost] Security forces located a weapons cache containing hundreds of weapons and combat items in a women's clothing store in Hebron in the West Bank, the police said on Wednesday.

Searches in the shop revealed guns, 61 knives, four swords, and 18 pepper sprays, among other things, which were all transferred to the care of the security forces for further treatment, police said.

The storage space was located while the forces operated to arrest a suspect in arms trading.

SUSPECT ARRESTED
The suspect identified the forces and tried to close the shop and escape; however, he was subsequently arrested, police said.

The forces operated under the guidance of precise intelligence information provided by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).

FBI claims alleged neo-Nazi killed parents as part of Trump assassination attempt
[Jpost] A document owned by the alleged attempted assassin also contained images of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler along with the text, “HAIL HITLER HAIL THE WHITE RACE HAIL VICTORY.”

Federal authorities, in unsealed court documents, revealed that 17-year-old Nikita Casap called for the assassination of US President Donald Trump and the overthrowing of the US government, CNN reported on Sunday.
Cool. Now release the manifestos of the TN Tranny killer
A three-page document belonging to Casap and found by the FBI called for Trump’s assassination to create a political revolution in the US and “save the white race.”

“As to why, specifically Trump, I think it’s pretty obvious. By getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president, that is guaranteed to bring in some chaos,” one excerpt from the document said, according to the affidavit.

The document also contained images of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler along with the text: “HAIL HITLER HAIL THE WHITE RACE HAIL VICTORY.”

Casap is alleged to have killed his parents in order to gain the "financial means and autonomy" to carry out his plan to assassinate the president, according to investigators.

Federal investigators are pursuing three charges, namely presidential assassination, conspiracy, and use of weapons of mass destruction, according to an affidavit written by an FBI agent in support of an application for a search warrant, CNN added.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office obtained the search warrant and found material on Casap's phone linked with the neo-Nazi terrorist group known as the Order of Nine Angles, who are "a network of individuals holding neo-Nazi racially motivated extremist views,” the affidavit stated.

Sheriffs also found photos and communications referencing “a self-described manifesto regarding assassinating the president, making bombs, and terrorist attacks,” the affidavit says.

ALREADY UNDER NINE FELONY CHARGES
He already faces nine felony charges, including two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of hiding a corpse, according to a Waukesha County criminal complaint filed in March.

Police believe the suspect's mother and stepfather were killed on February 11, according to the county court complaint. Both were found dead from gunshot wounds on February 28, when the county sheriff's deputies performed a welfare check at the family's home, CNN clarified.

The FBI also found an image and messages on Casap's phone with information on how to use a drone to strike, according to the affidavit.

Casap paid, at least partially, for a drone and explosives to commit and attack, investigators cited by CNN stated.

Britain
British Government to Release Data on Migrant Crime Rates, Sparking Meltdown on the Left
[Breitbart] The British government will release statistics on the crime rates of different migrant groups living in the country amid growing pressure for more transparency on the impact of mass migration on the UK.

While the government has yet to release full data, previous analysis from The Telegraph found that overall, migrants were 27 per cent more likely to be imprisoned as of October of last year than those with British citizenship. The disparity became more stark depending on the ethnicity examined, with Albanians by a significant margin leading the way at an imprisonment rate of 232.33 out of 10,000 people, or one in 50. This was compared to a rate of 14 out of 10,000 for British citizens.

Other high imprisonment rate foreign ethnic groups included people from Kosovo at 150.23 per 10,000, followed by Vietnamese (148.88), Algerians (124.41), Jamaicans (110.77), Eritreans (110.7), Iraqis (104.43), and Somalis (100.37).

However, some foreign ethnic groups had lower imprisonment rates than British citizens, including migrants from Germany at 4.68 per 10,000 people, followed by immigrants from Italy (4.96), India (6.24), Greece (6.36), US (7.27), Sri Lanka (8.17), France (8.64), and China (9.39).

This has led to calls for the government to curtail immigration from countries which produce the highest number of criminal migrants.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Estonia Might Become Europe's Next Trouble Spot
[Andrew Korybko's Newsletter] The latest socio-political and security developments suggest that it relishes being a frontline state.

Estonia catapulted back into international news after it recently seized an alleged vessel from Russia’s so-called "shadow fleet", to which Russia had a restrained reaction for the pragmatic reasons explained here, but it’s also been stirring up trouble with Russia in other ways too. The aforementioned provocation coincides with the passing of a law allowing Estonia to sink foreign vessels that it deems to pose a national security threat. It’s possible that this could be the next planned regional escalation.

On the security front, Estonia also reportedly wants to deploy some of its troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission jointly led by France and the UK. Moreover, there’s always the chance that the UK decides to transform its rotational ~1,000-troop military presence in Estonia into a permanent fixture. That would make it the third NATO member to do so in the region after the US (in Poland and Romania) and Germany (in Lithuania). This could be sold as a hedge against the US withdrawing some of its troops.

Estonia’s internal situation is also becoming increasingly tense as a result of three interconnected developments. The first concerns the latest law denying local voting rights to foreigners, which includes some of those 22.5% of Russians living in the country who don’t meet the post-independence criteria for citizenship and are thus legally classified as "stateless persons". For background, Estonia considers them to be the descendants of "Soviet occupiers", which is the basis upon which it’s restricted their rights.

Expanding upon the last point about historical perception, Estonia is also ramping up its long-running campaign of dismantling Soviet-era World War II monuments, which the state regards symbols of Soviet occupation. Russia, however, believes that this move amounts to historical revisionism. In connection with that, readers should be aware that Russia has consistently accused Estonia of glorifying Nazi collaborators, with the most blatant example thereof being the annual marches in honor of the SS.

As if these moves weren’t provocative enough, Estonia just passed a law requiring the Estonian Chrisitan Orthodox Church to sever its canonical ties with the Russian Orthodox Church. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov reacted to this by denouncing "the systematic destruction of fundamental human rights and freedoms continues under the guise of far-fetched, so-called democratic slogans. Once again, a blow has been dealt to one of the most sensitive areas — religious rights and freedoms."

Estonia is able to threaten Russia’s direct and indirect interests, correspondingly relating to its national security and the rights of its co-ethnics in that country, with impunity due to its NATO membership. The only realistic scenarios in which Russia might countenance using military force are if Estonia participates in blockading the Gulf of Finland, uses force against Russian vessels (whether a warship or Russian-flagged civilian ship), or attacks across the "Baltic Defence Line" that it’s building along their border.

So long as Estonia keeps its provocations below these thresholds, then the risk of a major war breaking out should remain low, but bilateral tensions will worsen as will those between Russia and the European members of NATO. That could turn Estonia into Europe’s next trouble spot, thus accelerating the militarization of the Baltic Sea and the nearby Arctic region, likely including the Russian-Finnish border. Russian-EU tensions would then persist indefinitely even if Russian-US relations improve in the future.

Columbia University students organize sit-in to support colleagues threatened with deportation
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] A number of students at Columbia University in New York City staged a sit-in in solidarity with their colleagues threatened with deportation for their support for Paleostine, the Paleostinian Official News Agency WAFA reported.

According to WAFA, a number of students and graduates from the university chained themselves to the campus gates in a symbolic move aimed at pushing the university administration to take a firm stance to protect the rights and safety of its students, and to protest plans to deport students participating in solidarity activities with Paleostine.
chained themselves to the campus gates? Nothing an applied amount of water and high voltage can't fix
The agency pointed out that the students demanded support and protection for students affected by recent events, specifically referring to the cases of Mahmoud Khalil and Mohsen Mahdawi, which have become symbols of their demands.

They also called for the disclosure of Columbia University's investments in companies operating with Israel, and for the campus to be made a safe haven for students, preventing local authorities from prosecuting them for their activities in defense of Paleostinian rights recognized by international treaties and conventions, according to WAFA.

The participants in the sit-in stressed that the movement was peaceful and aimed at pressuring for change, expressing their disappointment at the university administration's silence.

UNRWA: ''Israel'' uses aid as a war weapon in Gaza
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The United Nations

for fifty days.

In a statement published on Tuesday on the X platform, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini expressed his condemnation, questioning, ''How long will words of condemnation remain untransformed into actions that contribute to lifting the blockade and resuming the ceasefire, to save what remains of humanity?''

Lazzarini pointed out that the siege imposed on Gaza for fifty days has led to a deliberate and worsening spread of hunger, turning Gaza into a land of despair.

He added, ''Two million people, the majority of whom are women and kiddies, are facing collective punishment, while the maimed, sick, and elderly are deprived of medicine and healthcare.''

Lazzarini confirmed that humanitarian organizations have prepared aid to deliver to Gaza, which includes nearly 3,000 trucks of vital UNRWA assistance.

The UN official warned that essential supplies allocated to those in need were on the verge of expiration, urging for the immediate lifting of the blockade and the facilitation of supply entry, as well as the release of Israeli prisoners and the resumption of the ceasefire.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Gorsuch and Roberts Side with Liberal Justices ‐ Illegal Alien Can Ignore Deportation Deadline If It Falls on a Weekend or Holiday
[Gateway] In yet another blow to immigration law enforcement, the Supreme Court today ruled 5—4 in Monsalvo Velázquez v. Bondi that illegal aliens granted voluntary departure under federal immigration law can remain in the United States past their court-ordered departure deadline—if that deadline happens to fall on a weekend or legal holiday.

Justice Neil Gorsuch authored the majority opinion, joined by Justices Roberts, Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson, effectively rewriting the meaning of a "60-day" voluntary departure period to accommodate the convenience of deportable individuals, not the rule of law.

At the center of the case was Hugo Monsalvo Velázquez, a Mexican national who entered the U.S. illegally nearly two decades ago and was ordered to leave within 60 days.

His departure deadline fell on a Saturday, but instead of leaving, he filed a motion to reopen his case on the following Monday.

i Armed Forces have announced the downing of a US MQ-9 Reaper drone over Hajjah Governorate, marking the seventh such incident this month. They also launched missile and dronezaps targeting US aircraft carriers in the Red and Arabian Seas.

The Yemeni Armed Forces issued the following statement:

''As part of confronting the American aggression against our country, and in support and backing of the Paleostinian people and their fighters:

Our air defenses, by the grace of Allah, succeeded in downing a hostile American aircraft of the MQ-9 type while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace over the coasts of Hajjah Governorate.

The aircraft was shot down with a locally made surface-to-air missile. It is the seventh aircraft of this type to be downed by our air defenses during the current month of April, and the 22nd during the Battle of the Promised Conquest and Sacred Jihad in support of Gazoo

The missile force, the Air Force (drone unit), and the naval forces carried out two military operations targeting the two American aircraft carriers ''Truman'' and ''Vinson'' and their affiliated warships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, using a number of cruise missiles and drones.

The Armed Forces, while confronting the aggression, affirm that their military position today is better than it was weeks ago. With Allah's help, they have benefited from all developments, succeeded in impacting the enemy's movements, thwarted many of its attacks and aggressions, and will continue to respond responsibly and appropriately to any developments in the coming days and on all fronts—relying on Allah and trusting in Him.

They will not cease in their support and backing of the oppressed Paleostinian people until the aggression on Gaza stops and the siege on it is lifted.''

[Mail] The stock market is rallying as the White House talks up the potential for trade deals with over 100 countries that could settle escalating tariff wars.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 2 percent Tuesday afternoon, about the same about as the broader S&P 500, after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told investors about the potential to lower the temperature with China.

'No one thinks the current status quo is sustainable,' he said. President Trump slapped tariffs totaling 145 percent on the world's Number Two economic power, and China has hit back with a 125% tariff on U.S. products.

IDF destroys dozens of Gaza construction vehicles it says used for terror activities

[IsraelTimes] Military notes some of the equipment it targeted was used by Hamas in Oct. 7 assault; Gazan officials report 26 killed in other strikes across Strip

The Israel Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes across the Gazoo Strip overnight and on Tuesday morning, attacking terror infrastructure and also targeting and destroying some 40 construction vehicles in the Gaza Strip, which the IDF said were used by Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
for terror activities.

The action came as Gaza’s Hamas-run civil defense agency said Israeli air strikes killed at least 26 people across the territory. The figures could not be verified and do not differentiate between civilians and terror operatives.

Israel did not comment on the individual strikes, but says it seeks to minimize civilian fatalities and stresses that Hamas uses Gaza’s civilians as human shields, fighting from civilian areas, including homes, hospitals, schools, and mosques.

In a statement, the military said that the heavy equipment it destroyed was used by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, onslaught to breach the Israeli border barrier in dozens of locations, allowing thousands of bandidos holy warriors to stream into Israel.

The earthmovers have also been used by Hamas during the war to plant bombs, dig tunnels, and clear rubble to locate weaponry buried under it, the IDF said.

"The engineering vehicles that were struck are a major component of Hamas’s ability to carry out terror attacks on IDF troops and the State of Israel," the statement said.

The IDF said the strike was carried out to "disrupt" Hamas’s heavy equipment capability.

A municipality in the Jabaliya area of northern Gaza said a strike on its parking garage destroyed nine bulldozers provided by Egypt and Qatar

, which helped broker a ceasefire that took hold in January, but then collapsed by March.

Hamas denounced the strikes, saying in a statement that "the occupation’s destruction of civilian equipment intended to aid and rescue civilians and alleviate their suffering... is a confirmation of the criminal nature of this entity, which is devoid of all moral standards."

Heavy construction equipment was a key stipulation from Hamas in the January ceasefire and threatened to derail the process in February, a month before it eventually fell apart anyway. Hamas said at the time that earth-moving equipment, along with thousands of mobile homes, were needed to provide housing for Gazooks after fighting caused widespread devastation across the Strip.

At least one child was among the victims. The child's body was burned beyond recognition, according to images from the scene.

"Children are being burned while they sleep in the tents of the displaced," Al Jazeera's Anas al-Sharif wrote. "There are no safe areas, and no survivors of this genocide. Gaza City and its northern areas have been subjected to heavy Israeli shelling and artillery fire for hours."

Pakistan eyes tariff relief, looks to increase imports from US: Aurangzeb
[GEO.TV] Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has said Pakistain is looking to buy more goods from the US and remove non-tariff barriers to mitigate President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...
's high tariffs.

The finance minister made the remarks while talking to Bloomberg News during his week-long trip to the US to participate in the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
"Give us money"
He said Islamabad was in talks with Washington to tear down non-trade barriers to open its markets to more US products.

''It's a bigger canvas that we are looking at in terms of engaging the US. We will constructively engage, and we will have a formal delegation coming in,'' he added.

''Pakistain is open to foreign direct investments (FDI) from US firms and is preparing to debut its first-ever Panda bond in the range of $200m to $250m this year.''

The finance czar added that they were looking to buy more cotton and soybeans from the US. ''We can also look at whether there are any issues with respect to non-tariff discussion, whether there are any onerous inspections at our end for US products, we can obviously view that,'' he added.

He further stated that a trade delegation will also visit Washington in the coming months to bridge the trade gap. The minister said that authorities in Pakistain were trying to rebuild the country's tattered economy after it came close to a default in 2023 and had won an initial nod for a $2.3bn IMF loan that will give it funding visibility until 2027.

Aurangzeb said that Fitch also upgraded Pakistain's credit rating last week, citing confidence that Pakistain will be able to sustain reforms under the IMF loan program.

"What we are looking for is how we get away from a boom and bust cycle, which Pakistain has gone through and get on the sustainable growth path,'' the minister added.

Sultans grabbed their first victory in the Pakistain Super League (PSL) 10 by defeating the Lahore Qalandars in the 12th match of the tournament played at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Chasing a daunting 229-run target, the visitors could only accumulate 195/9 in their allotted overs despite Sikandar Raza's half-century.

The Qalandars got off to a decent start to the pursuit with openers Mohammad Naeem and Fakhar Zaman putting together a brisk 38-run stand.

The blazing start was soon hindered as Naeem fell victim to Michael Bracewell in the fourth over after scoring a run-a-ball 11.

Military base near Moscow rocked by explosions, four injured
[GEO.TV] A fire broke out at a military base east of Moscow on Tuesday, setting off a series of explosions. Four people were maimed, and around 450 others were evacuated from the area, according to the local governor.

Alexander Avdeev, governor of Vladimir Region, wrote on Telegram that ammunition had caught fire and shells had went kaboom! at a storage area of the base in the region's Kirzhach District.

The Defence Ministry said earlier that the fire had been caused by a breach of safety requirements and had resulted in the detonation of ammunition stored in a warehouse.

A state of emergency was declared, and local authorities were working with the Defence and Emergencies Ministries to make the area safe. Three of the injured were being treated in hospital.

Avdeev said the base had been evacuated along with residents of at least seven nearby settlements.

Unverified video published earlier on Telegram channels showed a huge fireball and clouds of thick smoke rising into the sky.

Baza, a Telegram channel close to security services, said at least 10—11 explosions had occurred and that firefighters from neighbouring regions had been called in to contain the blaze.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the campaign, PM Shehbaz said that the government, along with health authorities, was making tireless efforts to eliminate the virus once and for all.

"Today marks the beginning of another nationwide polio campaign. With Allah's grace, we are vaccinating children not only here, but across the country including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir

He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Health, including Federal Health Minister Kara Mustafa Kamal, Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath, the Secretary, Coordinator, and frontline health workers for their dedication.

Nigeria: Troops Repel Boko Haram Attack On Military Base in Yobe
[ALLAFRICA] Unconfirmed number of soldiers and Lions of Islam were reportedly killed when suspected Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
Lions of Islam attacked a military base in Buni Yadi, Gujba local government area of Yobe State.

Local sources confirmed to LEADERSHIP that the attack occurred Saturday night around 11:25pm when the murderous Moslems launched an assault on the military formation but were resisted by the Nigerian troops.

Although details of the attack have remained scarce, a resident of Buni Yadi, who craved anonymity, said, "I can confirm that there was an attack and soldiers were killed."

He added that soldiers were rushing out of the military base for reinforcement during the attack.

Another source confirmed that the Lions of Islam stormed the town in their large number and started shooting sporadically before attacking the military base.

Also, speaking one of the village heads who refused to mention his name, said normality has returned to the town after the attack as people have returned to their daily business routine.

A military source also confirmed the attack but opted from providing the specific number of casualties on the sides of soldiers and attackers.

"I can confirm there was serious attack on one of the military side. Our military responded and successfully killed many turbans. We also recovered two vehicles and weapons," the soldier confided.

Speaking also, a resident of Buni Yadi said residents who escaped to nearby bushes were now trooping back home.

"Let me tell you that I am not in the town, but I am now on my way back home. I have spoken to my friends told me that many people are back home with the return of normality," said the resident.

Jamaa Islamiya commander killed in Israeli strike near Damour — Naharnet
[NAHARNET] A leader from Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
-aligned Jamaa Islamiya was killed Tuesday in an Israeli strike near Damour, the Lebanese Islamist group and Israel's military said.

Israel has continued to carry out regular strikes on Leb
...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects....
despite a November truce with Hezbollah that sought to halt more than a year of hostilities between the foes including two months of all-out war.

Lebanon's civil defense said "an Israeli drone targeted a car" near the coastal town of Damour, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Beirut, and rescuers recovered a man's body.

Jamaa Islamiya in a statement announced the death of Hussein Atwi, calling him "an academic leader and university professor" and saying an Israeli dronezap "targeted his car as he was traveling to his workplace in Beirut."

The Israeli army said the air force had "eliminated" Atwi, calling him "a significant terrorist in the Jamaa Islamiya terrorist organization."

A Lebanese security official, who spoke to AFP on condition of anonymity, said Atwi was a leader of Jamaa Islamiya's armed wing, the al-Fajr Forces.

The official said Israel had previously targeted Atwi during its recent war with Hezbollah.

An AFP photographer saw the charred wreckage of a car at the scene. The Lebanese Army had cordoned off the area and forensic teams were conducting an inspection.

Jamaa Islamiya, closely linked to both Paleostinian Death Eater group Hamas and Lebanon's Hezbollah, grabbed credit for multiple attacks against Israel before the November 27 ceasefire.

The Israeli military said Atwi had been "involved in planning and advancing terrorist activity from Lebanon into Israeli territory" and had operated "in coordination with Hamas in Lebanon."

It said he had "carried out rocket attacks, coordinated terrorist infrastructure... and advanced attempts to infiltrate into Israeli territory."

Under the truce, Hezbollah was to pull its fighters north of Lebanon's Litani River and dismantle any remaining military infrastructure in the south.

Israel was to withdraw all its forces from south Lebanon, but troops remain in five positions that it deems "strategic".

Israel on Sunday said it had killed two senior Hezbollah members in strikes on Lebanon.

Lebanese authorities have said Israeli fire has killed some 190 people since the ceasefire.

After unclaimed rocket fire against Israel in late March, Lebanon's army said last week it had arrested several Lebanese and Paleostinian suspects, while a security official said they included three Hamas members.
The Times of Israel adds:
According to the Israel Defense Forces, the strike in the Lebanese coastal town of Haret en-Naameh, just south of Beirut, targeted Hussein Izzat Mohammad Atwi, a member of the al-Jama’a al-Islamiyya (Islamic Group) organization, which is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Lebanon.

The military said Atwi was also affiliated with Hamas in Lebanon, and worked alongside the Palestinian terror group to advance attacks on Israel from Lebanon, in an attempt to harm IDF troops operating on the northern border.

Atwi was behind rocket fire over the years and had also directed terror cells in Lebanon to launch attacks on Israel, including infiltrations, the IDF said.

He also worked to advance attacks against Israeli targets abroad, the military added.

Al-Jama’a al-Islamiyya, like Hamas, is a Sunni faction that forms part of the broader Muslim Brotherhood political network. The armed wing of the group, the al-Fajr Forces, repeatedly targeted Israel from Lebanon amid the war, often working in conjunction with the Shiite Hezbollah terror group.

One killed in Israeli strike on pickup truck in Tyre's al-Hinniyeh — Naharnet
[NAHARNET] Leb
...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade....
's health ministry said a new Israeli strike on Tuesday killed one person, hours after a deadly raid elsewhere in the country despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

"The strike launched by the Israeli enemy" in the southern town of al-Hinniyeh in Tyre district "killed one person," the ministry statement said.

Media reports said the strike targeted a pickup truck. A video circulating online showed a man escaping the vehicle after a missile lands next to it. It then shows a missile landing near the fleeing man, apparently killing him.

Berri says Iran not negotiating on behalf of Lebanon — Naharnet
[NAHARNET] Parliament Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri

...perennial Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians...
has stressed that Leb
...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects....
has fulfilled its obligations as per the ceasefire agreement with Israel, adding that Israel is yet to honor the arrangements.

Asked by al-Jadeed TV about the U.S.-Iranian negotiations, Berri said: ''The mere fact that technical teams will meet and negotiate represents a reassuring factor and there is no link between the negotiations and the Lebanese file.''

''Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
is not negotiating on behalf of Lebanon, but the impact of any agreement on the region will also reflect on Lebanon,'' Berri added, hoping the two sides will reach a deal.

''All the signals that Lebanon is receiving are reassuring, but my permanent stance is that the outcome cannot be determined before it becomes tangible,'' the Speaker went on to say.

Foreign Ministry to summon Iranian ambassador over arms remarks
[NAHARNET] The Lebanese Foreign Ministry will summon Iranian Ambassador to Leb
...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel...
Mojtaba Amani in the coming days over his latest social media post about the removal of weapons in Lebanon, media reports said on Tuesday.

''The disarmament project is a clear conspiracy against nations. While the United States continues to supply the Zionist entity with the latest weapons and missiles, it prevents countries from arming and strengthening their armies, and pressures other countries to reduce or destroy their arsenals under various pretexts,'' Amani wrote on the X platform on Friday.

''Once these countries surrender to demands for disarmament, they become vulnerable to attack and occupation, as happened in Iraq, Libya and Syria,'' Amani warned.

''We, in the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran, are aware of the seriousness of this conspiracy and its threat to the security of the peoples of the region. We warn others against falling into the enemy's trap.

Maintaining deterrence is the first line of defense for illusory sovereignty and independence and should not be compromised,'' the ambassador added.

President Joseph Aoun stressed Sunday that the Lebanese ''no longer want war,'' adding that the thorny issue of Hezbollah's arms will be addressed in a calm and responsible manner.

''When I mentioned arms in the inaugural speech, I was not talking to talk — I'm convinced that the Lebanese no longer want war, cannot bear it and cannot withstand the rhetoric of war,'' Aoun added.

''Our armed forces must be in charge of bearing weapons and we will implement the decision of limiting arms to the hands of the state,'' the president said.

''The train of Lebanon's rise has set off and no one will obstruct this start,'' Aoun reassured.

Martha MacCallum Obliterates Condescending Teacher Union Boss Randi Weingarten During Segment on America’s Failing Schools

[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] One of America's biggest villains received an epic beating on Fox News today when she tried to defend the indefensible and insulted her interviewer.

Randi Weingarten
, the President of the American Federation of Teachers, is the chief proponent of trapping everyone in failing public schools and refusing to hold crooked school authority figures accountable.

She was also arguably the loudest advocate for shutting down schools during the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused irreparable harm to the cognitive development of many children across the country.

Weingarten was invited on Fox News's ''The Story with Martha MacCallum'' to discuss the ongoing public school failures and pornographic books prevalent throughout school libraries.

Things got heated quickly when MacCallum lit up Weingarten for slamming school choice and for saying we should throw more money at the problem.

''So, if we can find other areas around the country where the proficiency levels are also ABYSMAL and should be embarrassing to every education organization, then we can start making assessments and say it's because of (school) choice or money,'' MacCallum said. ''We know that money does not equate to a better outcome.''

MacCallum cited an example from New Jersey that proves her astute point. Upon hearing this, Weingarten lost her patience and attempted to patronize the Fox News anchor.

''Martha, Martha, sweetheart,'' she began before an angry MacCallum cut her off.

''Don't call me sweetheart!'' MacCallum fired back.

Crater of the Klyuchevskoy volcano in Kamchatka is filling with lava
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The crater of the Klyuchevskoy volcano in Kamchatka, which has begun to erupt, is filling with hot lava. This was reported on April 22 by the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The department noted that the thermal anomaly in the volcano's summit crater was first recorded on March 30, then on April 4 and 9. Glow in the volcano's crater was first noted on April 20.

“The following night, frequent glowing was observed at night, which indicates the gradual filling of the crater with hot lava, generating Strombolian activity,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement on the Telegam channel.

Scientists who have assessed the danger of the volcano believe that increased activity in the summit crater, the outpouring of lava onto the slope of the volcano, and ash emissions to a height of up to 1 km are possible.

Experts warn the population and tourists against visiting the Klyuchevskoy volcano area. There are currently no officially registered groups there.

Vigilantes rough up NYC sicko with 19 prior arrests after attempted rape of elderly woman: ''If he comes back, I'm going to rock him again''
[NYPOST] A sicko with 19 prior arrests was busted in the heinous attempted rape of a 70-year-old woman in The Bronx — after local vigilantes beat him so badly that he ended up in the hospital, according to cops and residents.
Good. And nobody saw nuttin, I imagine.
Oswaldo Ramos, 50, approached the senior from behind at Creston Avenue and East 184th Street in Fordham Heights around 1 p.m. Friday before attempting to sexually assault her, police said.

Surveillance video released by the NYPD shows the perv scrambling to put his pants on after the attack.

The next day, vigilante neighbors spotted the wanted man nearby after apparently recognizing him from the released footage and took matters into their own hands, roughing him up to the point that he needed medical care, law-enforcement sources told NBC 4 New York.

An anonymous caller told detectives later that day that the crew of locals meted out street justice on the alleged sex fiend at Tiebout Avenue and East 187th Street, according to the network.

Landing flag over Sudzha (in Kursk)
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from a V Kontakte page of Colonel Viktor Pyatkov

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] Leaving graffiti on fences and looted counters, the "landings" from Lviv fled not like lions, but like hares!

From the congratulations of the Airborne Forces Commander to the servicemen of the 11th separate airborne brigade:

"The enemy tested the strength of your weapons and spirit in the Kherson region, and near Bakhmut, and in the Kursk region, where your valor and combat work were highly praised by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. In just over three years of the Airborne Forces, 5 thousand servicemen of the brigade have already been awarded state awards, six have been awarded the high title of Hero of Russia, 4.5 thousand have been awarded departmental insignia."

"The brigade's combat path is replete with the exploits of the Transbaikal paratroopers," said the Commander of the Airborne Forces, Hero of Russia Colonel General Mikhail Teplinsky, congratulating the personnel of the 11th Airborne Assault Brigade on the awarding of the Orders of Suvorov and Zhukov, earned by the paratroopers even before the events in Kursk. The Airborne Forces Commander illustrated the combat work of the Transbaikalians in Kursk, which received high praise from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, with figures:

They destroyed about 1,000 enemy fighters, 8 tanks, 85 combat vehicles and cars, 66 guns and mortars. Let us recall that it was the paratroopers of the 11th Airborne Assault Brigade, having passed through a gas pipe, reached the rear of the enemy holding Sudzha, collapsing its defenses. They also planted the flag over the liberated district center.

The airborne assault mission for the 11th Separate Guards Airborne Assault Orders of Suvorov and Zhukov Brigade began with the use of tactical helicopter landing forces with the task of capturing bridges in the lower reaches of the Dnieper.

Having landed early in the morning of February 24 on the right bank of the Dnieper, the Transbaikalians took under protection and defense the railway and highway of the Antonovsky Bridge and the bridge over the dam of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station. After that, while waiting for the main forces to arrive, they held it for three days, repelling attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Until the fall of 2022, the brigade first conducted offensive and then defensive actions on the right-bank part of the Kherson region, inflicting significant damage on the enemy in manpower and equipment.

From May 2023 to February 2024, the brigade's units carried out combat missions as part of the Bakhmut group in the Soledaro-Bakhmut tactical direction.

Thanks to the competent leadership of the commanders and the professionalism, courage and bravery of the brigade personnel, it was possible to thwart the attempt of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break through to Bakhmut and seize the initiative from the enemy. At the end of November, the brigade's assault companies liberated the settlements of Khromovoye, Krasnoye and their environs. After which the brigade carried out combat missions to contain the enemy on the approaches to Bakhmut.

At the end of August last year, the brigade was transferred to the Kursk direction, where, after completing a march, it immediately attacked the enemy that had invaded Russia. During September, the brigade units conducted assault operations in the direction of the settlements of Makhnovka, Dmitryukov and Zamostye.

And in October-November, they carried out the task of blocking the enemy in the settlement of Cherkasskaya Konopelka and liberating it, as well as preventing enemy movement along the Biryukovka-Fanaseyevka line of the Kursk region. At the end of January of this year, the brigade's artillery and unmanned aircraft units stopped three attempts at a counterattack by the enemy in the direction of Bolshoye Soldatskoye.

Well, the brigade's powerful final action in liberating the Kursk region was the participation of its personnel in Operation "Stream", during which our soldiers, having covered 13 kilometers inside a gas pipeline in three days, reached the rear of an unsuspecting enemy five kilometers southwest of the settlement of Bolshoye Soldatskoye.

After which the parachute battalion and the units attached to it began to conduct assault operations in the forest belt along the railway in the direction of the settlement of Dmitryukov. Advancing in a dispersed battle formation from cover to cover, using the folds of the terrain and destroying the enemy along the way, the battalion reached the line of the settlement of Mirny by the end of March 9 and, having captured the crossroads and bridges, contributed to the encirclement of the enemy in Sudzha. Finding themselves in a cauldron, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to retreat.

One of the units fleeing from Sudzha was the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Lvov, which became famous for its large-scale looting in Sudzha and left behind a lot of graffiti on the fences.

On March 12, the deputy commander of the 1st assault company, junior lieutenant Timur Soktoev, and assault fighter Rustam Musayakov raised the flags of Russia and the Airborne Forces over liberated Sudzha!

Having taken part in the cleanup of Sudzha and its environs, the airborne assault brigade from Transbaikalia continued to push back the remnants of Bandera formations to the state border and collect soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who had fled and gotten lost in the forests during the very rapid retreat from Sudzha.

-- Colonel Viktor Pyatkov

The paratroopers, of course, had to seriously adapt to the requirements of the Airborne Forces, but in their airborne assault version, they play an important role in the development of our operations. And the 11th brigade is one of the best.

For security reasons
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the Telegram Channel of @yaremshooter

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] Everyone has probably already seen the recent story about a fan of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who burst into tears at Sheremetyevo and was planning to visit Russia.

Due to his mental development, he failed the filtration measures quite quickly: there were compromising photos on his phone, and stickers in support of the Ukrainian army on his laptop.

And how many not so obvious (and therefore potentially more dangerous) guys and girls are turned away by our border guards every day.

I have come across an opinion that there are some excesses with this, and they are not letting innocent and very pro-Russian residents of the former Ukraine into the country in droves. Allegedly, everyone should be let in, and only such an approach will lead to the reunification of the Russian people and the fulfillment of the goals of the SVO.

I consider this point of view, to put it mildly, very naive.

The regime in Kiev understands that it cannot win the war by military means. Therefore, it will now look for ways to somehow influence the situation differently. Including with the help of terrorist attacks and provocations on the territory of Russia. You don’t have to go far for examples.

And in the current situation, it is better to play it safe. The employees are turning away not because they are angry and want to, but because the situation now does not allow for ceremonies. Therefore, at the slightest suspicion, a person is not allowed to enter the territory of Russia.

Such are the times. And, as we know, you can't choose them.

It is quite obvious that until the end of the war the screws will remain tightened for security reasons, despite the possible costs.

After the end of the war (whenever it may be), the screws will start to be loosened. During the war, the growth in the number of recruitments and attempted terrorist attacks makes serious concessions practically impossible.

Especially since relatively recently there were many questions in society about filtering at the border and the penetration of terrorists from abroad into the country.

So the special services will rather overdo it than underdo it in this matter. So no one will definitely let everyone in under a simplified inspection regime. At the same time, of course, there may be situations when they can catch people who are not involved at all. But they will put up with these costs, which will not benefit them.

'Terror attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir leaves at least 20 28 dead, reports say; TRF (Lashkar-e-Taiba) claims it
[CBS] New Delhi — At least 20 tourists were killed and many others injured Tuesday when suspected militants opened fire on civilians in Indian-controlled Kashmir, according to reports on Indian and international media. Many outlets, including the French news agency AFP, cited unnamed security officials who put the death toll as high as 24, but there was no immediate confirmation on casualties from authorities.

Two senior police officers, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press at least 20 bodies had been recovered after multiple gunmen fired at dozens of tourists from close range Tuesday. The officers said at least three dozen others were injured, with many in serious condition.

The attack took place in South Kashmir's Pahalgam area, a scenic destination dotted with meadows and glaciers that attracts hundreds of thousands of Indian and foreign tourists every summer. That tourist traffic has increased over the last year, as militant violence in the wider Kashmir region, which is disputed between India and neighboring Pakistan, has waned.

People injured in Tuesday's attack were taken to nearby hospitals. Police, army and paramilitary forces launched a search operation to find those responsible for the attack.

Terrorists shoot dead 28 tourists in India
At least 28 people were killed in a shooting in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in northern India. Terrorists opened fire on vacationing tourists on April 22, News18 TV channel reported, citing police sources.

"A senior intelligence source confirmed that 28 people, including foreign nationals, were killed and several were injured in the attack," the journalists noted.

According to eyewitnesses, two or three armed men in military uniform opened fire indiscriminately, causing fear and confusion among the vacationing tourists.

As reported by Regnum news agency, according to the News18 TV channel, the Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...>
group (an organization whose activities are banned in Russia) claimed responsibility for the attack. Two or three armed men in camouflage opened fire on tourists who were horseback riding. The attack took place in the Baysaran Valley.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to Indian President Droupadhi Murmu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the terrorist attack near the city of Pahalgam. According to Putin, this brutal crime cannot have any justification. The Russian leader confirmed his readiness to further increase cooperation with Indian partners in the fight against all forms and manifestations of terrorism.

One India liveblogged events here.
Terrorists opened fire at a famed meadow near Kashmir's Pahalgam town on Tuesday afternoon, killing 26 people, mostly tourists, in what is the deadliest attack in the Valley since the Pulwama strike in 2019.

The 26 dead included two foreigners and two locals, a high ranking official said without getting into details.

Baisaran, about six kilometres from the resort town of Pahalgam, is an expansive meadow ringed by dense pine forests and mountains and a favourite with visitors from across the country and the world.

Armed terrorists came into the grassland, dubbed 'mini Switzerland', and started firing at tourists milling around eateries, taking pony rides or just picnicking, officials and eyewitnesses said.

Who is The Resistance Front (TRF)? The Proxy Lashkar Terror Group Behind the Pahalgam Bloodshed
[OneIndia] A devastating terrorist attack happened near Pahalgam on April 22, resulting in the tragic loss of 26 lives, including two foreign nationals, and leaving several others injured. This assault unfolded in Baisaran, a picturesque locality close to Pahalgam, around 1:30 pm. The Resistance Front (TRF), a militant faction, has claimed responsibility for this brutal act. TRF, recognised for its activities in Jammu and Kashmir, has been officially labeled as a terrorist entity by India.

The origins of TRF trace back to 2019, following the Government's decision to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Formed by the ISI, Pakistan's intelligence agency, TRF was aimed at injecting a new dynamism into the terror landscape of Kashmir. This group differentiates itself with a more local and less overtly religious facade, positioning its narrative within the broader Kashmiri autonomy movement. Despite this, TRF has been implicated in several attacks targeting civilians, including members of the Kashmiri Pandit and Sikh communities, as well as security forces.

TRF'S PROPAGANDA AND RECRUITMENT THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA:
Since its inception, TRF has utilised social media platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp for propaganda and recruitment purposes. This strategy underscores its modern approach to spreading its ideology and enlarging its base.

On April 1, 2020, The Resistance Front (TRF) gained significant attention following a four-day gun battle near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara's Keran Sector. The clash resulted in the deaths of five Indian paracommandos and five TRF militants.

The government, recognising the threat posed by TRF, banned the organisation under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Born on October 10, 1974, in Srinagar, Sheikh Sajjad Gul also known as Sheikh Sajjad, founder of TRF, was designated as a terrorist in 2022.

Its founder asserts that the group opposes "local oppression" and maintains a stance of independence from Pakistan and the influence of Hafiz Saeed.

TRF'S TARGETED VIOLENCE
TRF attacks have primarily targeted Kashmiri Pandits, Hindus, Sikhs, and other civilians. Unlike other militant groups such as LeT and HM, who did not claim responsibility, it was TRF that took credit for these attacks. The Indian government has accused the group of engaging in various unlawful activities, including plotting attacks on both security forces and civilians, facilitating the movement of weapons for banned militant groups, recruiting militants, infiltrating across borders, and trafficking weapons and narcotics.

One of the most notable incidents was TRF's claim of responsibility for an attack on security personnel in the Anantnag district, where they employed guerrilla warfare tactics. The attack was framed as an "act of revenge" for the killing of their leader, Commander Riyaz Ahmed, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

According to 2022 data, out of the 172 terrorists killed in Jammu and Kashmir, 108 were linked to The Resistance Front. Additionally, statistics show that 74 out of 100 new recruits were brought into the fold by the TRF.

The most recent major attack involving the TRF was the Ganderbal terror attack, where seven individuals were killed at a construction site in North Kashmir last year.
A list of precisely two dozen TRF attacks in J&K since April 2020 can be read at the link.

Arizona Dem. Gov. Hobbs Vetoes Bill Requiring Police to Cooperate with ICE
[BREITBART] Left-wing Arizona Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs has vetoed a bill passed by the state legislature that would require local and state law enforcement to cooperate with federal Immigration officials.

The Republican-led legislature passed a bill that outlawed local jurisdictions from passing ordinances that would prevent local police from working with federal immigration authorities or block federal immigration actions and funding, the News Agency that Dare Not be Named (AP) reported.

The bill would also have required locals to cooperate on immigration detainers and to inform federal officials about migrants colonists being held in jug or about to be released from jails and prisons.

Supporters of the bill said the measure was needed to help the federal government have a safer and more orderly system of taking foreign criminals into custody for deportation and for state officials to be a ''partner, not an obstacle'' to federal immigration policies.

But Hobbs insisted in her veto statement that it is wrong to ''force state and local officials to take marching orders from Washington.''

Energy Dominance: Chevron Begins Key Oil Project in Gulf of America
[BREITBART] Chevron on Monday announced a massive project, kicking off oil and natural gas production from the Ballymore subsea tieback in the Gulf of America, which is expected to produce upwards of 75,000 gross barrels of oil daily — another major move towards energy independence and dominance for the United States of America.

Ballymore — located in the Mississippi Canyon area — has been described as a ''subsea tieback,'' meaning the discovery can be leveraged by an existing platform, using three wells tied to the already-standing Chevron-operated Blind Faith facility.

A fact sheet provided to Breitbart News notes that this is far more efficient, as the project leverages ''standardized equipment, repeatable engineering solutions, and existing transportation infrastructure.''

Along with the reality that Chevron strives to maintain ''one of the lowest carbon intensity oil and natural gas basins in the world,'' this will help Chevron with its goal of producing 300,000 net barrels of oil per day in the Gulf of America alone by 2026. If achieved, this would be a 50 percent increase from 2024 and position the country for one of its prime goals of reaching energy dominance in a growing and more demanding world.

As it stands, oil from the Gulf of America accounts for one out of every six barrels of domestic oil production. They estimate that Ballymore will be able to recover 150 million barrels of oil equivalent gross over the span of the project.

Woke DA in Minn won't prosecute Tesla Vandal
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] One of the nation's most progressive district attorneys has decided that a Minnesota state employee who keyed six Teslas will not be criminally prosecuted.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty will not file charges against 33-year-old Dylan Bryan Adams after he reportedly admitted to causing around $21,000 in damages during four separate incidents.

Adams will instead be entered into an adult diversion program for first-time, low-level offenders, which could even allow him to keep his job as a program consultant at the state's Department of Human Services.....

The Minneapolis police department reacted angrily to the DA's decision, distancing itself from it.

'The Minneapolis Police Department did its job. It identified and investigated a crime trend, identified, and arrested a suspect, and presented a case file to the Hennepin County Attorney Office for consideration of charges,' Chief Brian O’Hara said in a statement.

'Any frustration related to the charging decision of the Hennepin County Attorney should be directed solely at her office. Our investigators are always frustrated when the cases they poured their hearts into are declined. In my experience, the victims in these cases often feel the same.'

''60 Minutes'' producer Bill Owens quits under pressure from Trump's CBS lawsuit
[NYPOST] ''60 Minutes'' executive producer Bill Owens abruptly quit on Tuesday, citing a loss of journalistic independence as CBS' parent company, Paramount Global, looks to settle a lawsuit from President Trump.

''Over the past months, it has become clear that I would not be allowed to run the show as I have always run it, to make independent decisions based on what was right for '60 Minutes,' right for the audience,'' Owens wrote in a memo to staff that was obtained by The Post.

He added: ''So, having defended this show — and what we stand for — from every angle, over time with everything I could, I am stepping aside so the show can move forward.''

CBS insiders have speculated for months that Owens, who is just the third person to helm the iconic Sunday evening news magazine in its 57-year history, could be on the hot seat.

Earlier this month, Brendan Carr, the chair of the Federal Communications Commission, has pledged to fast-track an investigation into CBS over alleged political bias. Last month, Carr rejected a bid by CBS to dismiss the complaint against the network.

''Over the past months, it has become clear that I would not be allowed to run the show as I have always run it, to make independent decisions based on what was right for '60 Minutes,' right for the audience,''

How about running a show based on FACTS, instead of deliberate political agenda based misleading stories to increase viewer audience and to help certain political groups.

Battle for Gornalsky Monastery in Kursk
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Ukrainian military, located in the Gornalsky St. Nicholas Belogorsky Monastery in the Kursk region, broadcast negotiations in English and Spanish. This was reported on April 22 by an informed source in the security forces.

“Periodically, radio conversations were heard in English and Spanish, but the bodies of the killed mercenaries have not yet been found,” a TASS source said.

The agency's source suggested that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are following previous orders from their command and are burning or disfiguring as much as possible the bodies of killed foreign mercenaries.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, earlier on April 22, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported the liberation of the St. Nicholas Belogorsky Monastery in Gornal. Ukrainian militants installed artillery installations and UAV control points on the territory of the monastery. Also, enemy personnel were stationed in the historical buildings.

It was reported that, amid heavy losses, individual groups of the elite 82nd separate airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to escape from the monastery grounds. According to Russian fighters, foreign mercenaries, including Cubans and Colombians, were among those occupying the monastery.

On April 19, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Valery Gerasimov, reported to Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin that the Russian army was finishing clearing the territory of the monastery in the village of Gornal. Gerasimov reported that the Russian Armed Forces had already liberated 99.5% of the Kursk region, about 1.26 thousand square kilometers.

On April 22, the Ministry of Defense reported that over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 160 people and several pieces of equipment, including a tank and an anti-aircraft missile system, in the Kursk region. The enemy's total losses during the military operations in the region exceed 75 thousand people.

On April 22, the Russian Ministry of Defense showed footage of the liberation of the Gornalsky St. Nicholas Belogorsky Monastery in the Kursk region from the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

The video shows the combat work of Russian servicemen of the "North" group of troops. It is noted that Ukrainian fighters installed artillery installations and UAV control points on the territory of the monastery. Also, personnel of Ukrainian formations were stationed in the historical buildings.

The St. Nicholas Monastery in the village of Gornal, Sudzhansky District, was founded in 1671. Since August 2024, it has been under constant shelling by Ukrainian forces.

Later, an informed source in the security forces reported that the Ukrainian military, located in the Gornalsky St. Nicholas Belogorsky Monastery, were broadcasting radio conversations in English and Spanish. 🤬The VSU troops fired directly at the Gornalsky Monastery in the Kursk Region, a shell from a tank hit the dome - it burned from the impact and fell to the ground, military priest Hieromonk Melety told Zvezda.

The militants stole icons from the monastery and put them up for sale. They managed to take the most important relic to Kursk in advance.

"All the rest we had were relics, various icons. When the monastery was burning, we managed to pull everything out and take it to the basements. We carried the last icon five meters and the roof collapsed," Melety said.

Exorcism. Now Dostoevsky could not be afraid to report a terrorist attack
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Mikhail Moshkin and Dmitry Gubin

[REGNUM] In Russia, criminal punishment has been introduced for those who knew about an upcoming sabotage, but did not report it to law enforcement. Now such secrecy will result in up to a year of imprisonment - the corresponding decree was signed by Vladimir Putin on April 21.

For anyone familiar with the history of Russian classics, this document evokes an association with an episode from the life of Fyodor Dostoevsky.

The same package of laws that the president approved includes tougher penalties for discrediting the Russian army (up to 7 years behind bars if the lie was spread for self-interest or for hire).

A fine of up to half a million rubles is now imposed for calls to introduce new sanctions against Russia or extend old ones - that is, for what the so-called “non-systemic opposition” (now, as a rule, recognized as foreign agents and/or extremists) has repeatedly distinguished itself with.

Finally, the legislation on foreign agents has become stricter, including those who assist foreign NGOs.

All these measures have something in common.

All of them are aimed at protecting society from those for whom, almost a century and a half ago, Fyodor Mikhailovich came up with a politically incorrect but capacious definition: demons.

Those whom the classic himself, alas, feared.

CONVERSATION AGAINST THE BACKDROP OF A TERRORIST ATTACK
"Imagine you or I standing outside Daziaro's shop and hearing a nihilist telling another that in ten minutes the Winter Palace would be blown up. Would we go and warn them? Hardly. I doubt it. And as for seizing these nihilists or pointing them out to the police, that would never even cross our minds," is how journalist and book publisher Alexei Suvorin conveyed Dostoevsky's words, spoken 145 years ago in the writer's apartment.

Suvorin admitted to himself: he wouldn’t have reported it either.

But the participants in that conversation were not young people who had not yet grown up to a reputation and a name in society. One was a pillar of the publishing business, the other a living classic. By that time, Crime and Punishment, The Gambler, The Idiot had already been written, and the final volume of The Brothers Karamazov was being published.

From the pen of Dostoevsky came the main Russian anti-nihilistic novel, "Demons", back in the early 1870s. A former radical Petrashevsky, Dostoevsky wrote this book using the experience of the second generation of revolutionaries, the Nechayevites.

And the topic of conversation between the writer and the publisher was by no means abstract.

On that very day, February 20 (March 3, new style) 1880, a lone terrorist, Ippolit Mlodetsky, attempted to assassinate Count Mikhail Loris-Melikov, one of the authors of the liberal reforms of Alexander II. Responsibility for the attack was claimed by Narodnaya Volya. The organization did not hesitate to ascribe to itself the "achievements" of others in order to raise its own weight in the eyes of the public - Salman Raduyev would do the same at the end of the 20th century, and the leaders of Al-Qaeda* and ISIS* in the 21st century.

An explosion in the Winter Palace was also not a theoretical possibility.

Shortly before the conversation between Suvorin and Dostoevsky, in February 1880, the Narodnaya Volya militant Stepan Khalturin, having got a job as a carpenter in the imperial residence, planted dynamite in one of the rooms. It was according to this scheme that in 1999 the explosions of apartment buildings in Moscow, Buinaksk and Volgodonsk occurred. None of the "crowned satraps" were hurt. But the Narodnaya Volya member's victims were representatives of the people - the explosion tore ten ordinary soldiers of the Finnish Guard Regiment to pieces. Another 80 were seriously injured.

From the point of view of liberals and progressives, both the convinced conservative Suvorin and Dostoevsky, who was close to the royal family, were unconditional “pillars of the regime.” And yet, “it would never have occurred to them.”

No one was going to lose the bulk of readers. After all, if you were published in the wrong place or praised by the wrong person, the "progressive public" would have organized an obstruction, as happened with Nikolai Leskov. Suvorin knew for sure the power of public convictions and did not want to be known as a "scoundrel" (and as a result go broke).

Dostoevsky could see for himself what the power of liberal public opinion was in 1878. Then the populist terrorist Vera Zasulich, who shot at the St. Petersburg mayor Fyodor Trepov, received an acquittal instead of the 15-20 years of imprisonment that she was supposed to receive. That was the decision of the jury. The outstanding Russian lawyer Anatoly Koni, who presided over the trial, was "rooting" for Zasulich. The prosecutor Vladimir Zhukovsky refused to support the state prosecution and resigned.

The opinion of "society" was expressed by the moderately liberal journalist Grigory Gradovsky (incidentally, the son-in-law of the famous nationalist Vasily Shulgin ): "Zasulich's story touched all hearts. It is hard, like torture, shameful from the knowledge that such barbarities can be committed."

The “barbarity”, that is, justice in relation to the terrorist, was not carried out to the great satisfaction of the liberal public.

As memoirists testify, “ Dostoevsky witnessed the delight with which the acquittal was greeted by the public in the courtroom and the thousand-strong crowd awaiting the end of the trial outside the courthouse.”

KILLERS BEHIND THE WALL
Shooting, explosions of “infernal machines” and other manifestations of revolutionary terror became the backdrop that the repentant radical Dostoevsky felt like no one else.

An astonishing fact is known: literally across the wall from the writer’s last place of residence in Kuznechny Lane, in the adjacent front door, there was a safe house of the Narodnaya Volya members – the cell of Alexander Barannikov (party pseudonym “Porfiry”), who was responsible for the murder of the chief of the gendarmes Nikolai Mezentsov and several attempts on the life of Alexander II.

In January 1881, when Dostoevsky was dying, Barannikov was arrested. And on the day of the writer's death, February 9, 1881, another terrorist was detained through the wall, having run into a police ambush.

A little over a month after Dostoevsky’s death, in March 1881, “by order of the ‘People’s Will’, Alexander II, the Tsar-Liberator, was killed.

Publisher Alexei Suvorin will live another thirty years. He will have time to witness a new version of terror – the Socialist Revolutionary and anarchist – and to experience the first Russian revolution and its suppression. And until the end, Suvorin was haunted by the conversation with Dostoevsky. In 1903, during the time of Yevno Azef and the “Combat Organization”, the publisher again recalled the writer’s long-standing confession:

"I went through all the reasons that would make me do it (report a possible explosion to the police - editor's note). Reasons that are solid, solid, and then I thought about the reasons that would not allow me to do it. These reasons are simply insignificant. Just the fear of being known as an informer."

THE MOST "LIBERAL" COUNTRY
This state of affairs persisted for decades. The Russian philosopher Vasily Rozanov, himself a model victim of the then cancel culture, wrote in 1907:

"Russia is the most "liberal" country, where, to put it in vulgar language, any sixth-grade schoolboy can "outdo" Voltaire, Rousseau, Buchner, Renan and generally all Western "free thinkers", no matter how many of them there were and where they were. Of course, he can "outdo" them not with his intelligence and talent. No! He can neither write nor speak. That is not the point. But "God", "government", "laws", "sovereign", "Gospel", "Bible" - all this is criticized by him in such a way that no Renan could have dreamed of it."

Rozanov was not exaggerating when he wrote that since the 1830s, the ideology of the educated class was formed by oppositionists – liberals and radicals, while patriotically thinking writers and publicists were “canceled”:

“There was persecution; there was harassment; there was a 70-year-long slap and spitting… It is worth comparing the dull, cornered life of Strakhov, who sometimes did not have a pinch of tea to brew for a visiting friend, with the noisy, broad, powerful life of Chernyshevsky and Dobrolyubov, who almost “did not deign to talk” to Turgenev himself; it is worth comparing the wretched life of Dostoevsky in the shameful Kuznechny Lane, where only cabbies’ yards stand and prostitutes live in their rooms, with the life of Stasyulevich, in his own stone house on Galernaya Street, where the “opposition editorial office” of the “Bulletin of Europe” was located.

It is not surprising that decades of such brainwashing did not go to waste. So much so that even the priest of the Shlisselburg Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Ioann Florinsky, spoke of the terrorist Ivan Kalyaev (the murderer of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich ) as follows: "I have never seen a man going to his death with such calm and humility of a true Christian."

Educated society enthusiastically welcomed the 1905 revolution (at the height of the Russo-Japanese War), and then, at the decisive moment of the First World War, the February Revolution. “They are shooting from the windows on Nevsky… But there is no need to judge anyone. It is not a time for judgment – it is terrible. And whatever happens next – it is joyful,” Zinaida Gippius wrote in euphoria.

But the joy did not last long. Instead of the victorious march of democracy under the rule of former lawyer Alexander Kerensky (who made his name defending various "expropriators" in court), a completely expected series of catastrophes occurred.

Unlike the "tsarist regime", the Soviet government (even though it canonized Khalturin and Sofya Perovskaya, and Kalyaev and Yegor Sozonov, not to mention the Bolshevik expropriators) did not stand on ceremony with the old regime radicals and liberals. The Socialist Revolutionaries and anarchists were sent to prison and "disposed of". Their fate was shared by progressive lawyers who defended the bombers - for example, Mikhail Mandelstam, a lawyer at Kalyaev's trial - and journalists who admired the fighters for the people's happiness.

"RESTORATION OF POLAND ALONG THE DNIEPER"
In the late Soviet and post-Soviet eras, this liberal (or, as they used to say, democratic) public opinion reproduced itself. According to the same patterns and under the same slogans, like the Socialist Revolutionary "In the struggle you will find your right" or the slogan known since the Polish uprisings "For our freedom and yours."

The people's tribunes and publicists of perestroika sympathized with the desire of the Baltics, Transcaucasia and Central Asia for independence (and did not notice the genocide of Russians that began on the outskirts of the disintegrating empire).

Then the heroes of the progressive public were the Ichkerian "freedom fighters" who organized the terrorist attacks in Budyonnovsk and Beslan. New heroes came to replace them: the leaders of the color revolutions in the post-Soviet space, and in Russia itself - the "innocent victims" oligarchs.

Finally, in February 2014, the opposition-liberal public made a choice in favor of post-Maidan Ukraine - "anti-Russia". And this choice turned out to be fatal for it after February 2022. Politicians, writers, bloggers, pop artists, stand-up comedians and other "rulers of thought" left "abroad" en masse. Modern Westerners found themselves in the position of a collective "Herzen in London", and it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to influence minds in Russia.

The current “foreign agent” wave of emigration is considered to be almost unique in the degree of hatred towards the abandoned homeland.

There is nothing new in Russophobia and the desire to “root for others” in the radical environment. More precisely, at first glance, there is nothing new.

DEMONS 2.0
Indeed, back in 1834, the “first dissident” Vladimir Pecherin, having emigrated to Berlin, wrote “in a fit of Byronism”:

How sweet it is to hate your homeland

And eagerly await its destruction,

And to see in the destruction of the fatherland

The universal day of rebirth!

And here is Herzen’s comrade Nikolai Ogarev, 1853:

May this land be cursed,

Where I was born by chance!

I'll leave so that at every moment

In a foreign country I could execute

My country, where it hurts to live!

A reflection of the current “ decolonization ” agenda can be found on the pages of the novel “Demons” (and it seems that Dostoevsky copied this “agenda” from life): “They talked… about the usefulness of dividing Russia into nationalities with a free federal connection, about the destruction of the army and navy, about the restoration of Poland along the Dnieper… and so on, and so forth.”

And in 1904, the St. Petersburg writer Sergei Mintzlov wrote in his diary: “ They say that among the students, both male and female, a circle of people was found who decided to express their sympathy to the Mikado and the Japanese by sending him a congratulatory telegram and collecting money for his benefit.”

And the notorious double standards (when the “decent public” did not notice the tragedy of Donbass, but noticed the refugees from Ukraine) were also not invented yesterday.

When, shortly after the assassination of Alexander II by the Narodnaya Volya, a terrorist shot American President James Garfield, the executive committee of the Narodnaya Volya issued a communiqué with a decisive protest "against violent actions." After all, terror in despotic Russia is one thing, but terror in the democratic North American States is quite another.

“It’s all happened before.” But still, among the radical part of the non-systemic oppositionists – both those who left and those who stayed – there is something new.

This is an active desire to help an external enemy not just with “welcome telegrams” and not even just by distributing military propaganda. But also in action: from donations for FPV drones to direct participation in military actions on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (remember the neo-Nazi “oppositionists” from the so-called RDK *). Up to the role of a performer in terrorist attacks planned by the Ukrainian special services and their curators.

Even Herzen and Ogarev simply rejoiced at the fall of Sevastopol, but did not sponsor its assault.

Let us recall the environment that gave birth to the terrorist Darya Trepova, who killed war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky (Maksim Fomin) in 2023. The path from participation in the FBK* actions, libertarianism, "green" and LGBT* activism to terrorism turned out to be quite short.

When society is threatened by such "democratic activists," citizens no longer have the intelligentsia fear of being known as an "informer" that tormented Dostoevsky. Now, when it is obvious to everyone that terror has become one of the instruments of the war against Russia, toughening the penalties for "failure to report" is perceived as a completely justified measure.

Just like the harsh punishments for discrediting the army and the appropriately harsh attitude towards the "sweet hatred" of Western grants. "Smerdyakovism" ( "it would be good if those same Frenchmen had conquered us then: a smart nation would have conquered a very stupid one and annexed it" ) has already poisoned Russian society once, and the intelligentsia's tolerance of the "demons", turning into support and complicity with them, may cost too much this time.

Afghanistan
No More Terrorists: Why Russia Needs Afghanistan and the Taliban
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Leonid Savin

[REGNUM] On April 7, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Supreme Court of Russia excluded the Afghan Taliban movement from the list of terrorist organizations. What will now change in Russia's relations with Afghanistan?

Islamic Emirate spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said : "We consider this step very important. In the future, Afghanistan and Russia will certainly establish good relations in the economic and diplomatic spheres. The Russian President is pursuing the right policy towards Afghanistan."
Right, until the Al Qaeda-linked jihadi groups supported and protected by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) government hook up with their counterparts in Russia and start causing trouble; you go on feeling smug about putting one over on the West until then, guys. But when the next Beslan or Crocus City Hall mass attack happens, don’t come crying to us. Ditto for India, except about being smug — they think of thrmselves as pragmatically managing the Talibs, just like the Israelis were doing with Hamas until 10/7.
The news was long expected: Taliban delegations, despite their “forbidden status,” had previously regularly visited Russia to participate in all sorts of forums and meetings at a high political level.

Therefore, the formal recognition of the Taliban as a political force, just like the various ruling parties in other countries, acting within the framework of their sovereignty and deciding issues of their state and society, was only a matter of time.

And if we look at it from the pragmatic position of Russian interests, this time was lost. Since practically immediately after the expulsion of the US occupation forces, other major players quickly began working in Afghanistan, considering it as a promising place for the implementation of all sorts of projects.

For example, Chinese companies are already actively developing mineral deposits in Afghanistan. Oil and gas giant CAPEIC signed a 25-year oil production contract with the Taliban in early 2023, under which it will invest $150 million annually in the Afghan economy.

Iran is also actively developing cooperation, since it has a long border with Afghanistan, and Iran’s seaports are needed by Afghanistan for import-export operations.

TRANSPORT ROUTES
It is significant that just before the decision to change the status of the Taliban, a high-level Russian government delegation visited Afghanistan and met with the Taliban, in particular with the Minister of Public Works Ashraf Khakshenas.

It is known that, in addition to general issues of expanding economic and trade cooperation, the discussions included repairing the tunnel on the Salang Highway, building new tunnels in mountainous areas, and developing the Afghan railway network with the supply of relevant components and necessary equipment.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan has also shown interest in building railways, and the Afghan side has confirmed that it is interested in expanding ties with the Central Asian republics. And earlier, it was Kazakhstan that openly proposed removing the Taliban movement's status as a terrorist organization.

As for the Taliban's own interests, the Islamic Emirate plans to expand its railway network from Hairatan to Herat, and from there to Kandahar and Spin Boldak. This will connect Central Asia with South Asia, as well as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Pakistan.

In general, the Taliban want to reduce Afghanistan's economic dependence on Iran and Pakistan. They currently use trade routes through these countries to organize imports and exports. Amajry part of Afghan commercial goods are transported from these countries to China.

Some neighboring countries use Afghanistan's trade dependence as a political tool, blocking trade routes during harvest time, for example, causing Afghan farmers millions of dollars in losses.

The Taliban's railway project is part of a broader plan to connect Afghanistan to China and Russia via Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The new road would reduce Afghanistan's dependence on its neighbors while making the trade route faster and more cost-effective.

Currently, Afghan goods transported via Iran and Pakistan take at least 40 days to reach China, while the new route will reduce this time to 12-15 days. In addition, transportation costs will be reduced by 15-20%.

The Trans-Afghan Railway project, which will connect Pakistan and Uzbekistan, has been around for a long time. Back in February 2021, the three countries signed a roadmap in Tashkent for the construction of the Termez-Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway. After the change of power in Afghanistan, the Taliban also supported this initiative.

Using new logistics opportunities, Kazakhstan joined the work on the route through Afghanistan in 2024. But for now, cargo is transported by car through Afghanistan and Pakistan to the port in Karachi. After the railway line is put into operation, delivery will be significantly simplified.

In November 2024, at the international forum "Transport of Russia", it was announced that "the multimodal North-South route to Iran will be expanded by the eastern branch through Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to Afghanistan. Then the route will go to the ports of Pakistan or India."

RUSSIAN INTEREST
In addition to cooperation with Afghanistan in the field of infrastructure projects, the extraction of various minerals seems promising. It was Soviet geologists who conducted research in this country in the 50s-70s, that is, even before the introduction of Soviet troops.

Last year, the research resumed and showed good results. It was noted that the samples of precious and rare earth metals showed an excess of the forecast. The Afghans have silver, gold, platinum, palladium, lithium, tantalum, niobium, cesium, rubidium, beryllium, cadmium in abundance...

Therefore, participation in the local mining industry may be quite attractive and promising for Russia.

Moreover, with the changing situation, energy cooperation also looks quite attractive.

In addition to the long-standing unrealized TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline project, there was also a gas pipeline project from Iran to Pakistan. But Islamabad suspended construction of its section due to force majeure.

Given the agreement between Russia and Iran on swap supplies, energy cooperation would also be useful for Moscow. Although in strategic planning, it is probably necessary to think about its own branches of gas and oil pipelines towards energy-vulnerable Pakistan via Afghanistan.

To this can be added the CASA-1000 energy network project for Central Asia, as well as the possibility of building nuclear reactors in the future.

In addition, cooperation between our countries in the field of security is of great importance.

On April 21, 2025, at an international conference in Baku, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin stated : “We are all aware of the important place of Afghanistan in the geopolitics of Greater Eurasia. This country has enormous potential as a link between the north and south, east and west of the continent. It is in the common interests of our states to promote restoration and prosperity on Afghan soil.”

And he added: “The information coming into the SVR allows us to say with confidence that the main problem is the desire of Western countries to maintain instability in Afghanistan in order to solve their own selfish geopolitical tasks. It is to Western, most often British, intelligence services that the threads of the terrorist attacks of the so-called “Vilayat Khorasan” * are drawn.

The terrorist organization in question is a local branch of ISIS*, which attracts those who are upset with the Taliban. The problem is that there is a kind of Pashtun nationalism within the Taliban, and for this reason, members of other ethnic groups who are prone to radicalization are readily recruited by ISIS*.

And then there are both terrorist attacks inside Afghanistan and their planning beyond its borders. And given the revealed connections with Western intelligence services, this factor seems extremely important.

Meanwhile, the “legal fork” still remains due to the fact that the UN continues to view the Taliban as an organization guilty of violating human rights, especially discrimination against women and religious minorities, in particular the country’s Shiite community.

Thus, the press secretary of the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric, after Russia removed the Taliban movement from the list of terrorist organizations, stated that “this is a sovereign decision of the Russian Federation, the status of the Taliban movement in the UN, established by member states, remains unchanged.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry clarified that this step does not change Moscow’s commitment to UN Security Council sanctions against individuals and legal entities associated with the Islamic Emirate.

But the aforementioned sanctions are unlikely to be an obstacle to economic cooperation, since both Moscow and Kabul have learned to circumvent them using various mechanisms.

Nigerien forces reportedly free hostages after Boko Haram attack in Diffa region
[APANEWS.NET] Nigerien defense and security forces swiftly responded to an attack perpetrated by suspected Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
elements in Kablewa, located in the Diffa region, during the night of April 20-21.

According to Nigerien national television, their rapid intervention successfully contained the attack and led to the liberation of several hostages. The governor of the Diffa region has commended the effectiveness of the troops.

Reports indicate that Boko Haram hard boyz raided the town of Kablewa, situated in the NGuigmi district, between Sunday night and Monday morning, kidnapping eight civilians before being pursued by Nigerien defense and security forces. The ensuing response operation resulted in the safe release of all the hostages, the neutralization of the attacking turbans, and the recovery of their weapons, as reported by Nigerien national television.

The governor of the Diffa region, General Mahamadou Ibrahim Bagadoma, visited the scene of the attack accompanied by high-ranking security officials. During his visit, he lauded the prompt and effective response of the Nigerien troops. He also conveyed the congratulations and appreciation of the President of the Republic, General Abdourahamane Tiani, Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, and the Ministers of State for National Defense and the Interior.

Addressing the troops, Governor Bagadoma stated, ''The cohesion that exists between you is the source of your success, and I want this cohesion to be maintained and strengthened.'' He further emphasized the crucial role of collaboration between the local population and the defense forces, highlighting that the early warning provided by the residents of Kablewa was instrumental in the successful outcome of the operation.

This security operation is part of the broader ''Nalewa Dole'' offensive, which translates to ''unconditional peace'' in the Kanuri language. This offensive was launched at the initiative of the transitional authorities in Niger following the country's withdrawal from the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) amidst recent diplomatic tensions with neighboring Nigeria. This disengagement had created a security gap in regional cooperation efforts against hard boys.

Court orders Trump to restore funding to Voice of America
[VANGUARDNGR] A judge on Tuesday ordered President Donald Trump's administration to restore funding to Voice of America and other US-funded media, saying its abrupt shutdown of the outlets broke the law.

The federal judge in Washington agreed to a request led by the outlets' employees for a preliminary injunction, a temporary order as a court examines the legal challenge in greater depth.

Trump, who has long jostled with the press and questioned the editorial rules that prohibit interference in government-funded media, on March 14 issued an executive order to eliminate the outlets.

The following day, Kari Lake, his firebrand supporter turned advisor, began issuing notices to terminate all funding, which was appropriated by Congress.

Lake and other Trump officials are ''likely in direct violation of numerous federal laws,'' wrote Royce Lamberth, a judge for the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

The US Agency for Global Media, which supervises taxpayer-funded media, is allowed by law to redirect funds among its different programming by five percent or less, he wrote.

''Certainly, no law gives the agency the power to cut funding to the drastic degree that is alleged,'' he wrote.

Lamberth wrote that Voice of America's congressionally established charter states that the outlet will '''serve as a consistently reliable and authoritative source of news (that is) accurate, objective, and comprehensive' but the defendants have silenced VOA for the first time.''

Clayton Weimers, executive director of Reporters Without Borders USA, said the media rights group was ''very pleased'' with the decision on VOA and other outlets.

''Every day they're off the air is a gift to authoritarian regimes that forbid the free press, like China and Iran,'' he said.

The judge called on the Trump administration to return all employees and contractors to their jobs and to provide monthly status reports on compliance.

"Authoritarian" must be the Word of the Week. I keep hearing it everywhere. Like Jamie Raskin threatening foreign countries that do not oppose Trump and thereby "facilitate authoritarianism" in the US. What does that even mean?

Question from the peanut gallery:
Is it authoritarianism when the people are forced to obey the government?

Thus reducing the Politically Bias low level Federal/State/City Judges, that we are seeing more and more of abusing the court system.

Trump’s mass deportation raids result in 655% spike in arrests of terrorists
[NYPOST] The Trump administration's mass deportation raids have nabbed more than 200 known or suspected terrorists since January — including one of India's ''most wanted,'' who is accused of masterminding a grenade attack on a cop there and has ties to a US-designated terrorist organization in Pakistan.

Since President Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have arrested 219 known or alleged terrorists, marking a 655% increase from the same period last year when 29 such arrests were made under former President Joe Biden, according to new Homeland Security data obtained by The Post.

Among the dozens of terrorists swept up in Trump's raids was Harpreet Singh, a citizen of India who entered the US illegally on Jan. 27, 2022 by crossing from Mexico into Arizona and was swiftly released into the country by Border Patrol agents with a future court date, a DHS official said.

The Biden administration is to blame for allowing Singh to roam the country for more than three years, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Post.

''The Biden administration not only let a wanted terrorist into our country, but after he was arrested by Border Patrol agents, they released him into the interior of our country,'' she charged.

Archaeologists unexpectedly uncover hundreds of skeletons, medieval church beneath university campus
[FoxNews] Found at the site were 317 skeletons and 83 brick burial vaults

Hundreds of skeletons were recently uncovered by archaeologists while they were excavating a British university's property – the discovery a complete surprise.
Surprising to the archaeologists, no doubt. Local church historians can probably name many of those buried there and related their tales, if only the academics had bothered to ask.
The skeletons, along with an ancient church, were found on the school's City Campus property, which was acquired by the university in 2021. The University of Gloucestershire announced the discovery in an April 11 press release.

The City Campus property, which formerly housed a department store, is expected to open this year.

The university commissioned the archaeological organization Cotswold Archaeology to excavate the location – and it was in this area that the medieval church was found.

The ruined structure was identified as St. Aldate’s Church, which was demolished in the mid-1650s. It dated back to the Middle Ages.

The excavators found "limestone and brick foundations, along with around 83 brick-lined burial vaults both within the church itself and in the associated burial ground," according to the press release.

"Approximately 150 post-medieval burials, not contained in burial vaults, were identified in the courtyard," the statement continued.

"Deeper excavations revealed approximately 170 earlier burials, the majority of which are provisionally thought to relate to the medieval church."

In total, 317 skeletons and 83 brick burial vaults were uncovered and carefully excavated.

The discovery came as a complete shock to archaeologists, who were unaware of the church or its burial ground. The vaults were cleared in the 1950s to make way for the area where the former Debenhams department store was built.

"A new parish church, on or near the site of the medieval precursor, was constructed in the mid-18th century," Cotswold Archaeology acting principal manager Steve Sheldon said in a statement.

"The latter survived until the early 1960s when it was demolished to make way for the department store."

The discovery came as a complete shock to archaeologists, who were unaware of the church or its burial ground.

"Although the footprint of the medieval church was not identified during the current archaeological works, the identification of a limestone wall with surviving lime plaster most probably represents part of the earlier church."

Though the analysis of the human remains is in the early states, archaeologists have already been able to glean some information about historical health practices – such as the impact of increased sugar consumption in the 16th century.

"For example, on a very basic level, the impact of increased sugar in the diet during the 16th century was visibly clear in terms of dental health," the university said in a statement.

"The full results of these studies will be published in due course."

The latest dig represents one of many Cotswold Archaeology discoveries in the past year.

Last July, the organization announced it had discovered "24 identifiable skeletons" under a hotel, dating back as early as 670 A.D.

Well, unfortunately during the various English Civil Wars a lot of churches _and their records_ were destroyed both during the war and during the decade previous, in the 1640's. There were several waves' worth, starting with Henry VIII and they kept up, on and off, for several generations.

Worsening insecurity: Niger govt imposes curfew; 11 killed afresh in Benue - Vanguard News
[VANGUARDNGR] As the dust raised by the continuing killings in Benue and Plateau states is yet to settle, Niger State governor, Umaru Bago, yesterday declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the capital, Minna, following incessant killings of people in the city.

The governor also said the curfew could be extended to other local government areas of the state, identifying motorcyles, otherwise known as Okada, and tricycles (Keke NAPEP) as two major vehicles used by criminals to perpetrate their nefarious activities.

The curfew came on a day 11 persons were killed by herdsmen in fresh attacks in Benue State.

The Niger governor declared the curfew as the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in Plateau State yesterday asked the Federal Government to allow states establish their police forces to curb the increasing wave of killings and attacks across the country.

This is even as the presidential candidate of Social Democratic Party, SDP, in 2023 elections, Prince Adewole Adebayo, yesterday took a swipe at President Bola Tinubu on the worsening security situation in the country, describing him as one who had failed to take governance very seriously.

On the curfew in Minna, Governor Bago made the declaration at a critical stakeholders' security meeting with traditional title holders in Minna emirate and heads of security agencies at Government House, Minna.

He vowed to lead the operation to all nooks and crannies of Minna to flush out criminals who had in recent times, embarked on a stabbing-spree in the city and other parts of the state.

He, however, exempted medical emergency operators from the ban, adding that the step was taken to address growing security challenges in the state capital.

Fulani expansion war, a federal pet, by Ochereome Nnanna - Vanguard News
A backgrounder on Nigeria's internal dysfunction.
[VANGUARDNGR]Before his sudden, mysterious death, former Head of State, General Sani Abacha, left us with an enduring, prophetic soundbite. He said: “If an insurgency lasts for more than 24 hours, then, know that government has a hand in it”. Way back on May 8, 2014, The Cable newspaper published a retweet of the late General’s daughter, Ms Gumsu Abacha, quoting exactly the same one-liner in response to Boko Haram “exploits”.

What would you say of the Fulani expansionism “insurgency” which has lasted 25 years? By “federal”, I do not necessarily mean the President Bola Tinubu administration, though it is also complicit as will be shown shortly. “Federal” here means the machinery of the Nigerian State, the ruling Establishment or dispensation, the power that be which produces and dictates to successive Federal Governments.

Since 1999, this power dispensing machine has produced five presidents – Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu, always making sure it does not fall into “wrong” hands. Only such mechanism could enact the magic of making Obasanjo president from jail, ensuring that no Northern candidate would stand against him. To the best of my knowledge, the Fulani wars of conquest started around 2001 in the Plateau area. Armed Fulani “herdsmen” were routinely massacring the indigenes to take over their fertile farmlands. The military, police, security and what have you, have failed to stop them despite several eye-service deployments.

But when the Tarokh people armed themselves and retaliated in May 2004, President Obasanjo declared a state of emergency and removed PDP Governor, Joshua Dariye, who was seen as encouraging his indigenous people to defend themselves. What did Dariye do later? He joined Muhammadu Buhari’s APC and helped the party capture the state in 2015. Buhari pardoned and released him from his 14-year jail conviction for allegedly stealing N2bn. Dariye could not beat them. He joined them, and was rewarded by Buhari himself, just as Adams Oshiomhole had promised all who join APC.

Lionhearted governors who were crushed became a lesson to others. Fight the State and pay for it; collude with the State against your people and be rewarded. When you see Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State running kitikiti-katakata to lick the toes of fellow governors from the North over the Uromi lynching, you know the fear the State exerts over occupants of powerful or lucrative positions.

When Buhari came to power in 2015, he saw himself as the Nigerian variant of Omar Al Bashir of Sudan, who armed Arab pastoralist militia, the Janjaweed, to conquer and annex the lands of black Sudanese, thus sparking the Darfur crises. Buhari was determined to make Nigeria the new home of his Fulani kinsmen from everywhere. He tried to enforce his Ruga grazing routes, water resources and Livestock Plan policies throughout the country, but these were stiffly resisted. Buhari then threw open the borders for armed Fulani and their families, especially the nomads from everywhere, to relocate to Nigeria.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, he and his powerful kinsmen used food and cement trailers and trucks to distribute armed Fulani youths in forests all over the Middle Belt and Southern states. It was clearly a well-organised operation aimed at forcefully grafting alien, violent Fulani elements among unwilling indigenous communities. They were camped in the forests where they killed people in their farms and harvested organs for sale. They kidnapped for ransom and used livestock to destroy farms. They flushed people out of their ancestral lands and occupied communities.

The Federal Government and its organs of security and coercion protected them from those seeking to defend themselves. They were promptly released when arrested by vigilante groups and handed over to the supposed law enforcement agencies. Government and (unfortunately, sections of the media) deceived the public, calling attacks on innocent Nigerian farming communities “farmers-herders clashes”. Government kept promising displaced people they would be restored to their ancestral lands but have now become permanent occupants of Internally-Displaced Persons, IDPs, camps. The invaders are settling down and renaming conquered communities.

The Federal Government refused to even acknowledge Fulani invaders as terrorists. Instead, they turned around to falsely slap that moniker on the Eastern Security Network, ESN, formed by the concerned diaspora Igbo through Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to defend Igboland.

When Tinubu controversially won the 2023 presidential election, I consoled myself that Buhari the Fulaniser was out and Tinubu, being a Southerner, would check the Fulanisation agenda. It has also been wreaking even more havoc in the South-West, Tinubu's home zone. But we were in for a shock. After initially arresting and detaining Bello Bodejo, the leader of the loquacious and violent Miyetti Allah Kyautal Hore, Tinubu quickly released him when the Fulani elite threatened him. He even went ahead to create Federal Ministry of Livestock to appease them, thus fully resuscitating Buhari's Fulanisation agenda.

Tinubu holds on to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu even after releasing Fulani's Bodejo and Sunday Igboho of Yoruba Nation. Under Tinubu, the cuddling of Fulani herdsmen terrorism continues unabated, and so do the endless barrages of meaningless condolence messages and empty promises. The entire landscape is filled with cowardly governors and political leaders who sell out their people for political power and lucrative posts. At this rate, the indigenous people of Nigeria are doomed.

Retired Lt-General Theophilus Danjuma warned before (and has just repeated the warning) that the government is an enhancer of Fulani expansionism. ''They collude,'' he says. ''They will not protect you! Arm and protect yourselves''. Danjuma, a hero of the Nigerian side of the civil war, has written off the armed forces he once served and led. Who are we to believe otherwise? Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and ESN have once again been vindicated, even by Danjuma!

Self-defence is the first law of nature. The ball is in our court.

China 'asks' South Korea not to export rare earth products to US defense, warns companies could be sanctioned
Beijing has asked South Korean companies to cease exporting products containing Chinese-originated heavy rare earth metals to U.S. defense firms, warning that Seoul could face sanctions.

China’s Ministry of Commerce sent official notices to at least two South Korean companies recently, the Korea Economic Daily reported on Tuesday, citing sources in the South Korean transformer industry.

The outlet said the letters did not specify what type of penalties South Korean companies could face if the industry continues to export equipment to the U.S. military or its contractors. The equipment in question can include power transformers, displays, batteries, electric vehicles, aerospace and medical equipment.

While the move is intended to retaliate against President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs on China, Beijing may start blocking sales of critical metals altogether, disrupting the global economy.

#3  If the South Korean government can read 'The Handwriting On The Wall' they would double or triple such exports of rare Earth metals to their U.S. partners! The Chicoms are quietly smuggling resources and dual use mechanics to North Korea as a hedge to U.S. interests in the region, just as they have been caught supplying intel and sub parts to the Houthis against the U.S. and Israel!

Afghanistan
Russians Set To Tour Taliban-Controlled Afghanistan
[EVRIMAGACI] New travel initiative targets veterans of the Afghan war amid changing regulations.

In a surprising twist, a new travel initiative is set to take Russians on excursions to Afghanistan, specifically to the Taliban-controlled city of Kandahar. This venture, spearheaded by businessman Anatoly Aronov, aims to attract Russians, particularly those who served in the Afghan war, by offering a unique opportunity to revisit a significant chapter in their lives.

Aronov has filed a trademark application for "Taliban Tour" with Rospatent, marking the launch of his travel company that promises organized trips to Afghanistan. According to Aronov, the tours will consist of small groups of three to five people, with each two-week trip priced at 100,000 rubles. He believes that the primary audience for these excursions will be veterans of the Afghan war, who may have a nostalgic desire to reconnect with their past.

"This will be interesting primarily for those who served there. They will want to see and feel their youth again," Aronov stated. He also mentioned that Afghans might show interest in these tours, potentially even paying extra for the experience, as Western nations have largely shunned travel to the region. Aronov emphasized the historical ties between Russians and Afghanistan, noting that hundreds of thousands of Russians have memories from their time in the country.

However, Aronov cautioned against women traveling to Afghanistan, highlighting the strict regulations imposed by the Taliban. "They [the Taliban] have strict rules regarding women. I think women won't travel there. Why seek unnecessary adventures?" he remarked.

This initiative comes on the heels of a significant legal change in Russia, where the Supreme Court recently lifted the ban on the Taliban, allowing the group to operate without legal restrictions. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov explained that the decision to remove the Taliban from the list of prohibited organizations was part of a broader strategy.

Despite Afghanistan's reputation for conflict and drug production, the country is open to tourists, albeit with considerable caution required. Russian travelers must first obtain a visa in Moscow and a maktub, a special permit for sightseeing, which can only be acquired in Kabul and must be validated in each province they visit. Igor Manashirov, a Russian traveler, pointed out the complexities of navigating Afghan bureaucracy: "Eastern bureaucracy is very subtle, and each provincial chief wants to personally demonstrate his authority," he noted.

Since the Taliban regained control in 2021, life in Afghanistan has transformed dramatically. Women face severe restrictions, prohibited from freely going outside or pursuing education, while men are subject to strict dress codes. For instance, men are not allowed to wear revealing sportswear, have beards shorter than a fist, or wear ties. Furthermore, interactions between men and women are heavily regulated, with the new authorities enforcing a strict separation.

The Taliban has also declared a war on drugs to improve Afghanistan's international image, leading to unexpected consequences such as the closure of hookah lounges. Local residents have adapted to these new laws; for instance, a merchant in Kabul cleverly conceals a hookah lounge behind a frozen goods store, enticing tourists with the invitation, "Hurry up while no one sees!" This adaptability illustrates the resilience of Afghans amid challenging circumstances.

Despite the ongoing difficulties, Afghanistan is witnessing a surge in interest among tourists, with many eager to explore a country often overshadowed by its tumultuous past. However, the risks associated with travel in Afghanistan remain significant, and potential visitors are urged to proceed with caution.

As the Taliban Tour initiative unfolds, it raises questions about the implications of tourism in a country marked by conflict and strict governance. While some may view this as an opportunity for cultural exchange and historical reflection, others express concern over the ethical considerations of traveling to a nation still grappling with the consequences of war and oppression.

In conclusion, the Taliban Tour represents a controversial yet intriguing development in Russian tourism, reflecting a complex interplay of nostalgia, cultural ties, and the evolving landscape of Afghanistan under Taliban rule. As the travel industry navigates these uncharted waters, it remains to be seen how this initiative will unfold and what impact it will have on both Russian tourists and the Afghan people.

Government Corruption
Woke Minnesota DA lets Tesla thug walk, signaling it's open season on Team Trump
[NYPOST] The Soros domestic-terror protection racket is spinning up again — this time, to block anti-Tesla thugs from consequences as they pursue their insane vendetta against law-abiding citizens who own cars made by Elon Musk.

Woke weirdo Dylan Bryan Adams (who works for the state government headed by fellow woke weirdo Gov. Tim Walz) allegedly keyed and defaced numerous Teslas while out walking his dog.

It's part of a troubling movement where lefties who oppose Musk's role in the Trump administration attack vehicles made by the company he owns and showrooms that sell them.

Just Tuesday, for example, nutcases from the radical activist group Extinction Rebellion NYC sprayed a Tesla shop in Manhattan with clever slogans like, ''F**k Elon.''

In Minnesota, Adams was caught red-handed, on camera, committing outright felonies, cops say — with property damages of mounting to $20,000.

Open and shut case, right?

No such luck: In swooped Hennepin County District Attorney Mary Moriarty, who refused to charge Adams criminally, and instead called for a toothless ''diversionary'' program.

What kind of lesson will the anti-Tesla thugs take from that?

Moriarty (who aptly shares a name with the infamous Sherlock Holmes villain) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Soros, Inc. racket.
By releasing Mr. Adams, DA Moriarty is doing exactly what the Open Society Foundations paid her to do.
Entities with funding ties or other connections to the crime-promoting financier spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to see her elected.

Soros World, recall, is also a major opponent of President Donald Trump and Elon Musk — which means Moriarty is signaling that it's open season on law-abiding Minnesotans for the sin of owning cars Musk makes.

Then again, she's been undermining law and order literally since the day she came on the job.

She's offered sweetheart deals to violent thugs: Like probation for a killer who murdered a man whose car he was trying to steal.

And a wrist slap for two monstrous young killers who acted as hitmen in the slaying of Zaria McKeever on the orders of her jealous ex.

That last move was so obscene it prompted Walz, no slouch in the crime-coddling department, to boot Pro-Murder Mary from the case.

Oh, she also tossed the case of a 35-year-old man charged with raping a 14-year-old girl and gave another sweetheart probation offer to a dealer who knowingly sold a client a fatal fentanyl hotshot.

Now she's giving the high-five sign to domestic terrorism against Trump's team.

It's like shouting from the rooftops the same sick message she's been sending since Day 1.

Killers, rapists, drug dealers and violent freaks can do as they please, with little to no consequences. Have at it, folks.

If Minnesotans keep her in that job, they'll have only themselves to blame.

16.10 Another supporter of the Kremlin ideology has been exposed in Kharkiv. The 58-year-old resident of the regional center has been an active participant in pro-Russian Telegram channels since December 2023. The man left comments in which he claimed that he was "waiting for the capitulation of the Kiev regime" and the so-called "liberation" of Kharkiv.

The suspect spoke negatively about Ukrainian patriots and rejoiced that "the Russian Federation is destroying Banderovites."

15:29 European countries told the United States last week which aspects of a potential peace deal between Ukraine and Russia would not be the subject of negotiations, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said.

13.00 Russia's so-called "Easter truce" with Ukraine was a marketing operation by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to win the trust of US President Donald Trump, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said.

According to him, the temporary "truce" that the head of the Kremlin declared on April 19, and which Kyiv immediately and repeatedly accused Moscow of violating, was only for show.

"The Easter truce that he (Putin, - ed.) announced somewhat unexpectedly was a marketing operation, a decoy operation, aimed at preventing President Trump from becoming more impatient and angry," Barro said.

"As for the water area (seas - ed.), in principle, no changes have occurred. They did not withdraw additional units, although the dispersal of the naval composition was in Novorossiysk. Most likely, they expected some trouble, but this is an assumption. The very fact that they dispersed. Now there is one carrier - an underwater one. in a different way. Previously, you saw a submarine with four possible Kalibrs, now - this is already six possible missiles," he said.

According to the speaker, the Russians thus decided to increase the combat capabilities of the carriers for delivering strikes.

10:20 The Security Service has detained another member of the Russian intelligence group in Nikolaev that was exposed in March. At that time, four Russian agents were detained during a special operation, who were adjusting missile and drone strikes on the city.

The enemy's main targets were the reserve command posts and logistics units of the defense forces fighting on the southern front.

A fifth adjuster was detained at his place of residence, who, after the enemy cell was exposed, "lay low" to avoid justice. He turned out to be a 50-year-old local unemployed man.

The police have not yet received information about victims.

8.39 The Defense Forces have stopped 61 attacks by Russian invaders in the Pokrovsk direction. Over the past 24 hours, 165 combat clashes have been recorded on the front, including 21 in the Kursk region. This is evidenced by the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

7.57 Ukrainian defenders have eliminated another 1,130 Russian invaders over the past 24 hours. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on its Facebook page.

7.28 Kremlin master Vladimir Putin has offered to hold bilateral talks with Ukraine for the first time since the full-scale invasion. Although Zelensky has not responded to Putin's initiative, he has stressed that Ukraine is "ready for any discussion" about a ceasefire. Putin's statement comes amid pressure from the United States, which has threatened to "abandon its peace efforts if no progress is made."

05.24 In the Kupyansk direction, fighters of the 2nd operational battalion of the 15th brigade of the NGU "Kara-Dag" captured an enemy infantry group that was trying to gain a foothold in the unit's area of responsibility.

The UN called for an end to the war in accordance with its resolutions, international law and with respect for the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

01.55 Odessa was subjected to a massive attack by Russia. The invaders used Shahed-136 attack drones flying towards the city from the Black Sea. This attack took place immediately after the end of the "Easter truce" declared by Russia, which lasted from April 20 to 21. According to the head of the Odessa OVA, Oleh Kiper, civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, an educational institution, vehicles were damaged in the city, fires broke out. Three people were injured.

00.45 Since 2014, Ukraine has lost half of its child population in the occupied territories, Crimea stated in an interview with Radio Liberty’s project.

"In 11 years, Ukraine has become poorer by half of its child population. Of these, 20% remained first in Donbass and Crimea, then plus new territories - this is almost 1.6 million children that we lost due to occupation. This is 20% of the child population - exactly there. The other 30% - all over the world, almost 30%, somewhere around 25%, a little bit 25%, a little more.

New attack. Russia wants to invade Dnipropetrovsk region
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] The Russian army has received a "strict" order to reach the Dnipropetrovsk region by May 9, the military says.

Moscow has given its troops a "stern" order to reach the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region by May 9, the Vugledar tactical group reported. The defense forces have already stopped several large-scale attacks, for more details, see the story.

Historical parallel
Our military notes that two captured occupiers testified during interrogation about a "stern" order for Russian troops to reach the administrative border between Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk regions by May 9.

For the Kremlin, the “liberation of the DPR” was supposed to become a historical parallel with 1945, a symbol of victory over “modern fascists – Ukrainians,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces say.

To this end, the enemy has carried out two massive offensive operations in the Vugledar tactical group's area of responsibility since the beginning of April, involving a large number of tanks, armored fighting vehicles, armored vehicles and personnel.

After the defeat of these columns, the Russians resorted to using motorcycles, buggies and quad bikes. With their help, the occupiers are looking for "gaps" in the Ukrainian defense, trying to break through to populated areas for the purpose of stockpiling, the military adds.

"The calculation is simple - fast movement, according to the Russians, complicates the detection and destruction of such groups by artillery, FPV drones and bombers. However, Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance works perfectly. Most of the Russian military personnel are destroyed before they reach Ukrainian positions," the Vugledar tactical group said in a statement on April 19.

"EASTER" ASSAULT
On the night of April 21, in the direction of the Dnepropetrovsk region, the Russians began to actively storm our positions. As reported by the squad commander of the 24th separate assault battalion, Aidar, call sign Osman, the enemy used armored vehicles and infantry for the attack.

"Since the night in the direction of the Dnepropetrovsk border, the enemy has been constantly storming our positions, both with equipment and infantry. At least 4 BMPs have been destroyed, the car and motorcycle have not yet been counted, there are a lot of them," the soldier wrote .

According to him, for three days the Russians carried out minimal assault actions, accumulating forces in the rear. However, the attempt to break through by the Russian units failed - they were defeated in the middle of the fields and forest belts of the Donetsk region, unable to advance to the Dnepropetrovsk region.

Later, this information was confirmed by Viktor Tregubov, a representative of the operational-strategic group of forces of Khortitsa. According to him, the enemy is slowly retreating from the western outskirts of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.

Tregubov added that the Russians were indeed actively trying to advance in this direction to cut off the highway from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast from Pavlograd to Pokrovsk. But they failed – there was a "small turning point" after the Defense Forces recaptured Kotlino at the end of February 2025.

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Dnipropetrovsk region remains an important logistical, humanitarian and medical hub for Ukraine's troops in the east of the country. Control over the roads leading to Donetsk region allows for stable supplies for the Defense Forces and the evacuation of the wounded.

In addition, as the local authorities stated, when it comes to the country's mineral resources, this is directly about the Dnipropetrovsk region. Also, in the event of a "freeze" of the war, an international military contingent may be deployed in the region, if it is in Ukraine at all, local officials believe.
