Book Review: Amaryllis Fox, 'Life Undercover, Coming of Age in the CIA'
[Vogue] On a clear, cold winter’s day, my boyfriend Andrew* drives me to a gas station on Route 123 a little before dawn. I kiss him, then leave him standing there, raw and stoic, in the empty forecourt, his hands thrust into his peacoat pockets, as he watches me climb into the warm camaraderie of a crowded beige van.

Jokes masking our nerves, we drive through the familiar gates at Langley, step out of the van and into the blacked-out bus that will deliver us to the Farm‐a simulated Truman Show set in a fictionalized country called the Republic of Vertania (ROV), where we are to undergo the most demanding espionage training on Earth. We are to play the roles of first-tour case officers assigned to the U.S. Embassy in the ROV city of Womack. We each have training names‐aliases to protect our identities from one another. But other than that, everything feels real. There is an actual embassy building, with an American flag fluttering out front, on an actual town square with a wooden gazebo. There’s a cable news channel, like CNN, but reporting the news of this fictional universe: Prime Minister Cartwright did this or the Sons of Artemis blew up that. There are diplomats visiting from neighboring countries, including a North Korea‐style rogue state called the Democratic People’s Republic of Vertania (DPRV).

Every citizen of the ROV, every newscaster, every bombastic DPRV diplomat, every person we interact with in this giant game of make-believe is played by a CIA operative, assigned to the Farm for a tour as an instructor. And every one of them has a thousand stories‐like that time a highly sensitive source brought a six-piece mariachi band to a covert meeting in a midnight back alley. They have pro tips, too, not covered in the training curriculum, like carrying Rolaids to make signal marks on brick because it’s less incriminating than chalk in case of capture and search.

They break character only to share these gems with us a few hours each night in the sanctity of our SCIF, small room‐size safes where five of us work on our cables and intelligence reports, under the watchful eye of our advisers. The rest of the time, they stay in character, talking about the impact of upcoming fake elections on the value of the country’s fake currency, speculating about weapons proliferation across the fake border with the DPRV and worrying about threats from fake terror groups. We go to embassy parties, bump into our targets, recruit our assets.

We drive off-base in cars tricked out with concealment compartments for our notes and dread unannounced searches at the roadside, our knees in the gravel and our graduation dependent on our not having anything incriminating lying about in the cup holders. The crises ramp up quickly. Soon our every night’s sleep is interrupted by urgent walk-ins reporting imminent threats and simulated terror attacks. We’re under constant surveillance, pitted against one another, tested well beyond our limits.

A multilayered game takes hold. On one level, we recruit the fictional characters played by instructors. On a second, we recruit the real-life instructors we know decide who graduates. All the while continuing to play a third, long-distance level, recruiting chiefs back at headquarters to ensure the best real-world assignment. All without ever breaking character. It’s exhausting. And like the running millipede, we learn to avoid thinking about how we do it all for fear of tripping up.

#1  Is this for real ? Next they'll be playing video games. Login to your avatar at Langley to see your next fictional assignment. Click here for the "No Gore" option. It makes the character you set-up or have disemboweled by proxy just disappear. Zero guilt makes a better agent of chaos.

The memoir probably ends with her 'recruiting' Bobby Kennedy, the longest game of all.

Fauxcahontas Tries To Court Rural Voters With Free Broadband Smoke Signal Blanket
[The Federalist] Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren has an elitist problem, and she knows it.

Her Boston background makes her a prime target for Republican opponents to brand her as an out-of-touch coastal elite if she were to emerge as the Democratic nominee next fall, a fitting description for a Massachusetts senator with an Ivy League background who lectures on the campaign trail like a college professor. Similar to Hillary Clinton in 2016, Warren is a walking briefing book with a plan for seemingly everything. She even earned a spot for it on the cover of Time magazine in May. The words "I have a plan for that" featured prominently on the page next to a determined, forward-looking Warren. The text has since become an unofficial motto of the Warren campaign.

This week, Warren kicked off her Iowa road trip with the announcement of a new plan to provide high-speed internet access to rural communities, a proposal aimed at expanding the senator’s base as she tries to shed the elitist professor image moving into the next phase of the Democratic primary.

"As we head into Iowa, I’m sharing my new plans to invest in rural communities. It’s time to put their interests ahead of giant companies and Wall Street," Warren tweeted.

Police fire tear gas as thousands once again rally in Hong Kong
[Aljazeera] Hong Kong police have fired tear gas at demonstrators after petrol bombs exploded in the downtown bar district of Wan Chai as clashes during a tenth weekend of protests in the city intensified.

Reuters News Agency on Sunday said its reporters in Wan Chai saw two petrol bombs thrown, setting small fires on the streets, while tear gas volleys and advancing riot police sent some protesters fleeing.

Demonstrators are demanding the resignation of the city's leader Carrie Lam, democratic elections, the release of those arrested in earlier protests, and an investigation into police use of force against the protesters.

Banners at the rally in Victoria Park read "Give Hong Kong back to us" and "Withdraw the evil law," the latter a reference to an extradition bill that was the original spark for the protests.

The demonstrations have since morphed into a broader bid to reverse a slide in democratic freedoms in the city.

Protesters took over streets in two parts of the Asian financial hub, blocking traffic and setting up another night of likely showdowns with riot police as they chanted: "Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our time."

They hurled bricks at officers and ignored warnings to leave the Sham Shui Po area before tear gas was deployed, police said, calling the march an "unauthorised assembly."

Protesters used metal fencing and plastic ties to construct makeshift barricades and block the road near the local police station, shining blue lasers at the building as officers held up a flag warning the crowd to disperse.

'Anger' after explosion at council headquarters in Swedish town
[TheLocal.se] Police are investigating after a kaboom outside the town hall in Landskrona, southern Sweden.

Police were called out to the scene on the Drottninggatan street in central Landskrona shortly after 10pm on Wednesday, after several people reported hearing a loud bang.

They said in an update on their website that "something had went kaboom! at the city hall", causing among other things windows to shatter. No one was injured in the incident.

Torkild Strandberg, the Liberal mayor of Landskrona, hit out at the as of yet unknown perpetrators, but told the TT news agency that the fact it happened outside the council building was of no special significance.

"No matter which building it is, you're putting people in danger, you're overstepping all written and unwritten rules," he said, adding that council work would carry on as normal on Thursday.

Landskrona, a town of just above 32,000 residents, has been fighting a spate of gang crime this summer, with three murder attempts and explosives placed in central parts of the city.

"There's a strong sense of frustration and a desire not to accept this. There's more anger and irritation than anything else," Strandberg told TT.

Police lifted the cordons around the scene shortly after 4am. No arrests had been made at that time.

Italy's Nigerian mafia hit by major police raid
[TheLocal.it] Italian police arrested 19 suspected members of a Nigerian mob on Thursday, including the leaders of a clan which forged alliances with other mafias and violently punished any who rebelled.

In an operation dubbed "Burning Flame", coordinated by police in Bologna and Turin, over 300 officers carried out arrests and searches in nine cities across northern Italia, from Bergamo to Modena, Parma and Ravenna.

A two-year probe -- aided significantly by an insider who fed details to Sherlocks -- "has allowed us to destroy much of what, within the Nigerian community, is known as the 'Maphite' cult," police said in a statement.

It said the acronym stood for Maximum Academic Performance Highly Intellectuals Train Executioner.

"Among those arrested were those who held a leading role within the criminal organization.

"Those who decided on the new initiations, who ran the prostitution rings, who dominated by force the other criminal organizations, who ran the drug trade in the city squares," it said.

Police said the Nigerian mob used "urban guerrilla warfare which continued for days at a time" to maintain territorial control. The 'cult' was just one of a series of foreign organised crime groups which had adopted Italian mafia codes, police said. While they have much in common, they are independently structured and "in strong rivalry with each other", it added.

'GREEN BIBLE'
Maphite was founded back in the 1980s - along with other Nigerian gangs such as the Black Axe and the Vikings - before developing into a full-blown organised crime group in the 1990s, police said.

It adopted the moniker Green Circuit Association to camouflage its international expansion and is now widespread in many countries around the world.

The top mobsters are known in gang lingo as the Main Chief, Deputy Don, Checker (the treasurer) and Fire -- who is in charge of giving orders, while an executive committee carries them out.

Members have to follow strict rules of conduct laid out in the so-called "Green bible", kept safe by the leader.

"New members are initiated following precise rituals, and treason is met with corporal or lethal punishment," police said.

Maphite maintains close ties to Nigeria, so that those who cross it fear retaliation not just in Italia but there too, police said.

Paolo Borgna, deputy prosecutor in Turin, said the foreign mafias "are born and develop by giving protection to their countrymen and developing a kind of parallel, ruthless and criminal justice".

"It is a characteristic shared by all mafias: protection is offered, compensation is requested, protection is imposed and, finally, those who do not accept it are punished," he told journalists at a presser.

He said Maphite had a common fund which the newly-affiliated paid into when they joined.

"It's not a refined mafia... but not one to be underestimated. It must be contained now," he added.
It should have been contained long since, but at least now is better than later.

Joe Biden Vows Flood of Immigration If Elected
[Breitbart] Former Vice President and leading 2020 Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden is vowing to greatly increase the number of legal immigrants admitted to the United States every year.

In a speech to the Asian and Latino Coalition PAC, Biden promised to increase the level of legal immigration to the country beyond the roughly 1.2 million legal immigrants that are admitted every year, booming the foreign-born population to an unprecedented 45 million ‐ a 108-year record high.

Specifically, Biden said the U.S. can "in a heartbeat" import another two million immigrants today.

Biden said:
We could afford to take in a heartbeat another two million people. The idea that a country of 330 million people is cannot absorb people who are in desperate need ... is absolutely bizarre ... I would also move to increase the total number of immigrants able to come to the United States. [Emphasis added]
In addition to an increase in legal immigration levels, Biden said his national immigration plan would ensure that all 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living across the U.S. receive amnesty and a pathway to American citizenship.

Likewise, Biden said it is "immigration" that has "built this country," reiterating the claim that the U.S. is a "nation of immigrants," calling it "a fact."

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth break up after less than a year of marriage
And she seemed so...stable
[NY Post] Less than a year after getting married, it’s over for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.

"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time," a rep for Cyrus told People. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."

Cyrus, 26, and Hemsworth, 29, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in December after their on-and-off relationship spanned 10 years.

The couple was previously engaged to each other in 2012 and called it off a year later. They reunited and rekindled their romance in 2015.

RUSSIA Collusion: 'Morning Joe' Suggests Russia Behind Epstein Suicide
[PJ] Jeffrey Epstein, the financier and convicted sex criminal recently re-arrested on charges of sex trafficking, was reportedly found dead in his cell on Saturday. Official claims that he had committed suicide were met with skepticism, considering Epstein's connections to many powerful men and women who have been implicated in the sex crimes charges. Given Epstein's connection to Bill Clinton, many suggested Clinton orchestrated his death. But at least one prominent Trump critic went for the Trump-Russia collusion angle.

"A guy who had information that would have destroyed rich and powerful men’s lives ends up dead in his jail cell. How predictably...Russian," Joe Scarborough, co-host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, tweeted Saturday morning.

Scarborough added, "He reportedly tried to kill himself two weeks ago. And is allowed to finish the job now? Bulls**t."

UN: Car bomb kills 3 UN staff outside mall in Libya
BENGHZI, Libya (AP) ‐ A bomb-laden vehicle exploded Saturday outside a shopping mall in Libya’s eastern city of Benghazi, killing at least three U.N. staff members, a spokesman for the United Nations secretary-general said. The attack came even as the country’s warring sides said they accepted a cease-fire proposed by the U.N. aimed at halting combat in the capital Tripoli during an upcoming Muslim holiday.

Health officials said the blast took place outside Arkan Mall in the Hawari neighborhood, where people were gathering for shopping a day before the Eid al-Adha holiday begins. The Benghazi municipal council said the attack targeted a convoy for the U.N. Support Mission in Libya.

The site of the attack is close to offices of the mission in Libya. Two of the dead hailed from Libya and Fuji, and the blast wounded nine people, according to health officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief reporters.

Stéphane Dujarric, a spokesman for U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres, said in a statement that three U.N. workers were among the wounded.

Pres. Trump retweets conspiracy theory that Bill Clinton killed Jeffrey Epstein
[Washington Examiner] President Trump promoted a conspiracy theory on Twitter that former President Bill Clinton had convicted sex predator Jeffrey Epstein killed following the billionaire's apparent suicide earlier in the day.

"Died of SUICIDE on 24/7 SUICIDE WATCH ? Yeah right! How does that happen#JefferyEpstein had information on Bill Clinton & now he’s dead," Terrence Williams, an actor and commentator, said Saturday on Twitter. "I see #TrumpBodyCount trending but we know who did this! RT if you’re not Surprised#EpsteinSuicide #ClintonBodyCount #ClintonCrimeFamily."

Trump retweeted the conspiracy Saturday evening from his personal account.

#2  A lot of things had to fall in place just right for a suicide or murder to occur. Psychologists had to recommend that Epstein be taken off suicide watch, the DOJ protocols had to not be followed, lapses in monitoring had to occur, surveillance tapes has to not be recorded for one reason or another, the cell must not have been suicide-resistance. Just playing the odds, a lot of things had to fall into place. What are the chances all these things all fell in place? Fairly slim. Many would benefit from Epstein's death one way or another. Transparency would be very useful to restoring trust in an honest DOJ. It got very corrupted by Obama and the Clintons.

PA economic crisis begins affecting civilians
[Ynet] Analysts say the money received by the PA is political funding and donors base their support of the PA on their political agenda, cutting funds when they do not agree with Ramallah and that includes Arab countries as well.

Due to the economic crisis the Paleostinian Authority (PA) is going through, civilians say the situation is increasingly affecting their daily lives.

The latest example came when Jibril Rajoub, the head of the Paleostinian Football Association (PFA), warned that the league’s new season, which is scheduled to begin at the end of August, might have to be canceled.

Rana Sana’s son-in-law arrested
[DAWN] The Faisalabad
...formerly known as Lyallpur, the third largest metropolis in Pakistain, the second largest in Punjab after Lahore. It is named after some Arab because the Paks didn't have anybody notable of their own to name it after...
police on Friday arrested a son-in-law of former law minister Rana Sanaullah outside the judicial complex where he went to attend hearing of the narcotics case against his father-in-law.

Few lawyers tried to thwart the arrest (in a murder case) but police personnel took Sheharyar with them and initially shifted him to the Islampura cop shoppe. Later, they took him to Faisalabad.

An official said Sheharyar was not nominated, however, the police arrested him in the light of the statement of a suspect. The Samanabad police had registered the case in 2016 against unidentified suspects on the charge of killing Shafqat Butt.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pound, the little lost dog backed into the corner and showed its teeth. And what big teeth they were!...
a special court for the Control of Narcotics Substance on Friday extended judicial remand of Rana Sanaullah and other suspects in a narcotics case while the prosecution submitted further documents of challan.

The court also summoned on the next hearing a footage of a CCTV camera showing Rana Sana’s vehicle entering the motorway from a toll plaza, which the prosecution mentioned in its report.

The court adjourned hearing till Aug 24 and also allowed an opportunity to other suspects to engage their counsel.

The Anti-Narcotics Force had arrested Rana Sana on July 1 last in a narcotics case and the next day a judicial magistrate sent him to jail on judicial remand. The force claimed to have recovered 15kg heroin from the possession of the PML-N leader and lodged a case under section 9 (C) of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997, which carries death penalty
or life imprisonment.

Facebook loses facial recognition appeal, must face privacy class action
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A federal appeals court on Thursday rejected Facebook Inc's effort to undo a class action lawsuit claiming that it illegally collected and stored biometric data for millions of users without their consent.

The 3-0 decision from the ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
over Facebook's facial recognition technology exposes the company to billions of dollars in potential damages to the Illinois users who brought the case.

It came as the social media company faces broad criticism from politicians and regulators over its privacy practices. Last month, Facebook agreed to pay a record five billion dollar fine to settle a Federal Trade Commission data privacy probe.

"This biometric data is so sensitive that if it is compromised, there is simply no recourse," Shawn Williams, a lawyer for plaintiffs in the class action, said in an interview. "It's not like a Social Security card or credit card number where you can change the number. You can't change your face."

Facebook said it plans to appeal. "We have always disclosed our use of face recognition technology and that people can turn it on or off at any time," a front man said in an email.

Google, a unit of Alphabet Inc, won the dismissal of a similar lawsuit in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
last December.

The lawsuit began in 2015, when Illinois users accused Facebook of violating that state's Biometric Information Privacy Act in collecting biometric data.

Typhoon forces evacuations, flight cancellations in eastern China
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Hundreds of flights were cancelled and a million people were evacuated from their homes as the third-largest typhoon on record in China hit the east of the country, state-run China Central Television (CCTV) reported on Saturday.

Typhoon Lekima made landfall early on Saturday morning in the eastern province of Zhejiang with maximum winds of 187 km per hour, although it had weakened from its earlier designation as a ’super’ typhoon, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

China’s weather bureau on Saturday issued an orange alert, its second highest, after putting out a red alert on Friday, when the storm forced flight cancellations in Taiwan and shut markets and businesses on the island.

The storm was moving northward at 15 kph and was gradually weakening, Xinhua reported, citing the weather bureau.

Some 625 flights at airports in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu were due to be cancelled, CCTV reported, citing the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Several dozen trains connecting Zhejiang with northern and central China had also been cancelled.

More than 250,000 residents in Shanghai and 800,000 in Zhejiang province had been evacuated due to the typhoon, and 2.72 million households in Zhejiang had experienced blackouts as strong winds and rains cut electricity transmission lines, state media reported.

Spanish aid boat stuck at sea rescues 39 more migrants
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Spanish humanitarian ship that has been stuck at sea with 121 migrants colonists on board for over a week says it has rescued 39 more people.

The Open Arms boat said it made its latest rescue on Saturday morning in international waters in the central Mediterranean, where it has been stranded for nine days after Italia and Malta denied it entry.

Open Arms founder Oscar Camps says that Malta has offered to allow the 39 new passengers to disembark, but still rejects the 121 the boat rescued last week.

Late on Friday, another NGO boat run by Doctors Without Borders and SOS Mediterranee said it rescued 85 migrants colonists in the central Mediterranean.

Rescue ships face fines of 1 million euros if they enter Italian waters without permission.

Iraq
U.S. service member killed while on mission in Iraq’s Nineveh
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) ‐ A U.S. service member advising Iraqi security forces on a mission was killed Saturday in the northern Nineveh province, the U.S.-led international coalition fighting Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
said in a statement.

"One U.S. service member died today during an Iraqi Security Force mission in Ninewah province, Iraq, while advising and accompanying the (Iraqi security forces) during a planned operation, the statement said.

It added that the name of the service member would be withheld until next of kin have been notified.

Some 5,200 troops are stationed in Iraq as part of a security agreement with the Iraqi government to advise, assist and support the country’s troops in the fight against Islamic State, which overran large parts of Iraq in 2014.

In April, Iraqi president Barham Salih said he does not see any "serious" opposition when it comes to the presence of American forces in Iraq, as long as they continue to be there specifically to assist Iraqi forces in the fight against the Islamic State group.

"They are here for the specific mission of empowering and enabling Iraqi forces in the fight against ISIS. Nothing else. That is the specific exclusive mission, and in that context, I do not see serious opposition to the presence of these forces in Iraq today," Salih told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named, using an acronym for Islamic State.

He said he recently led a conversation among all the major political groupings of the country and there is "general consensus that that Iraq needs that collaboration."

#1  The greatest achievement, apart from empowering the voiceless hordes, of Socialism not the woke, graft powered gravy-train, but genuine socio-economic justice for have-nots of history has been the mass 'existential amelioration bribe'.

The government of India seeks to bring employment, ease of doing business and economic opportunities to the entire mass of people living in this long tainted region. Right now, no one will employ a Kashmiri in India, people chase them out of establishments and institutions, they can get admissions, but the students themselves will not let them attend classes. It's terrible, and they really aren't a wicked people. Constant conflict has fashioned them into walking cacti.

There has to be a gradated inclusion into the Indian mainstream. Contrary to what people say, we want Kashmir along with Kashmiris of course we could do without 'em, but that won't be righteous. Kashmir was once one of the only regions in the subcontinent where a true sufi ethic could be seen in daily life. A bonding of hindu and muslim the likes of which no muslim or hindu nation can boast. Now, that time is long gone. Islam itself has changed, and we cannot hope to achieve unity with murderous bastiches forever susceptible to that dogma.

So, they shall have to be domesticated. And the only way to do it is take away the existential angst, and fill the void with work. Deny them the means to commit legal islamism through mandates, but give them a semblance of empowerment through self-earned money, improved lifestyle... bollywood that great weapon of reform or runaway havoc and private investment by the richest concerns in Kashmiri infrastructure and institutions.

These Pakistain writers and ideologues... they can't bare to see the dung green islamic flag go down, but they can see the Kashmiri family starve, commit suicide by cop, rent out their souls to jihad for a mere ration. To them, they are just the means to occupying real estate by proxy until China fulfills their promise of "Sure. We'll raid India together, soon... now just keep digging, Mehboob."

The 'special status' of Kashmir denied it all the socialist sops and opportunities enjoyed by the millions of beneficiaries. That changes now, bringing every Kashmiri family under several the umbrella of subsidized rations, household gas and tax-free entrepreneurship schemes. Also, education-rights, employment and property rights for women the earlier applicable shariah based laws facilitated cutting off women from property rights, easy divorce and polygamy and child marriage. The gradual gains to local farming, businesses, skilled labor and freedom to travel unquestioned as an Indian across the world will be considerable to the common man. The people will soon realize the undeniable benefits of this.

But of course, we'll kill every last f↺cker if he stands in the way of our bettering his life.

Biden: The Second Amendment Isn't ‘Absolute'
[Free Beacon] Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Saturday claimed none of the amendments to the Constitution are "absolute" while discussing the Second Amendment.

Biden made the remarks while participating in Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund's Presidential Gun Sense Forum in Des Moines, Iowa.

"The Second Amendment ‐ no amendment is in fact absolute," Biden said. "You cannot stand up in this hall and yell fire. That's not freedom of speech because they know the consequence of yelling fire: There'll be a stampede, and someone will get hurt."

The former Vice President also noted how the national conversation about gun control has changed, adding he has witnessed "a movement" toward change, according to the Washington Examiner.

"Folks, don't apologize at all about the Second Amendment," said Biden, explaining how the amendment allows for limitations. "These guys will tell you, ’the tree of liberty is watered with the blood of patriots.' Give me a break."

#3  Actually, the rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights are absolute as the are granted by God, not the gummint. What needs to be absolute is the punishment for violating or abusing those rights, be it someone doing a mass shooting (or even just murdering one person) or a journalist using the platform he or she is on to knowingly disseminate lies. A few career death penalties in the news business would probably go a long way towards improving the quality of the product.

Pakistan cuts last remaining transport link to India over Kashmir dispute
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Pakistain said on Saturday it had cancelled a bus linking Lahore with India’s capital New Delhi, the last remaining public transport link between the neighbors divided by a dispute over the Kashmire region.

Islamabad reacted with fury this week after India revoked the special status for the portion of Kashmire that it controls, calling the action illegal, a claim New Delhi denies.

Pakistain has already cut two rail links, suspended bilateral trade and expelled India’s ambassador, all part of what it called a diplomatic effort to protest against the decision.

Arshad Ali, tourism officer at Pakistain Tourism Development Corporation that runs the Pakistain leg of the journey, told Rooters the government had issued directives that meant the bus, that departs Lahore six days a week at 0600 local time, was suspended from Saturday onwards.

"The operation will remain suspended till further decision," he said.

Delhi Transport Corporation, that runs the service in the other direction, did not respond to requests for comment.

The service, known as the "friendship bus", has long been seen as a symbolic link between the two countries.

Launched in 1999, it has run almost continuously since, including throughout the last crisis between the two countries in February.

2 suspects confess to have laundered money for Shahbaz, sons
[DAWN] Two suspects on Saturday turned approvers against PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif
...Pak dynastic politician, brother of PM Nawaz Sharif, chief minister of Punjab...
and his two sons in a money laundering case .

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is pursuing the case in an accountability court.

The suspects, Aftab Mehmood and Shahid Rafique, recorded their statements before a judicial magistrate in Lahore today, confessing to have committed money laundering at the behest of Shahbaz and his sons, Hamza and Salman.

Another suspect in the case, Mushtaq Cheeni, had earlier also turned approver against Hamza and his brother Salman.

Mehmood, whom NAB had described as the frontman of the Shahbaz family at the time of his arrest, in his statement recorded before judicial magistrate Zulfiqar Bari confessed that he made illegal telegraphic transfers (TTs) worth more than $2.4 million to Pakistain to benefit the Shahbaz family in 2008-09.

He said he operated a money exchange named Usman International in the United Kingdom and transferred the amount through TT in the bank accounts of Hamza Shahbaz, Salman Shahbaz, Nusrat Shahbaz and Rabia Imran Ali using fake identities.

Arabia
Haj sermon 2019: Muslims must rid hearts of hatred, show kindness to all
[DAWN] Imam Sheikh Mohammad bin Hassan Al Sheikh has urged all Moslems to rid their hearts of hatred and be more kind in their treatment of others, Radio Pakistain reported.

While delivering the Haj sermon on Saturday at Masjid-e-Nimra on the plain of Arafat, he impressed upon the need for showing campassion towards parents, children, relatives and all living beings.

He called upon Moslems to remain united in the bonds of brotherhood.

He reminded them that God's blessings are infinite and one must find solace in this fact and continue to seek them.

More than two million Moslems were gathered at the sacred hill of Mount Arafat in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
for an intense day of worship and reflection on what's considered the climax of the annual Haj pilgrimage.

Pilgrims clad in white robes signifying a state of purity spent the night in a sprawling encampment around the hill where God tested Hazrat Ibrahim's (AS) faith by commanding him to sacrifice his son Hazrat Ismail. It is also where Prophet Muhammad (PTUI!) gave his last sermon.

Some had tears streaming down their faces as the men and women raised their hands in worship on the slopes of the rocky hill.

Afghanistan
Petraeus Cautions Trump Over Troop Withdrawal From Afghanistan
Do we still care what General Petraeus, ret. has to say? I can’t remember.
[ToloNews] Mr. Petraeus says that withdrawing all the troops from Afghanistan will be a repeat of the past mistake.

A retired US Army general David Petraeus has suggested that the United States should not abandon Afghanistan as it did Iraq by withdrawing all its troops from the country.

In an article published in the Wall Street Journal and co-written by Vance Serchuk, an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security,
...a Washington, D.C.-based bi-partisan think tank established in 2007 by Michèle Flournoy and Kurt M. Campbell, specializing in the American national security issues, terrorism, and the rise of China....
Mr. Petraeus says the history should not be repeated in Afghanistan and that leaders in Washington must proceed with caution.

Mr. Petraeus, who has served as commander of US Central Command and of coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and as director of the Central Intelligence Agency, says that a complete military exit from Afghanistan today would be even more ill-advised and risky than the B.O. regime’s disengagement from Iraq in 2011.

His comments are expressed at a time that the US is negotiating a withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan with the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
in Doha.

A senior member of the Taliban, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwah, said on Friday that the US and the Taliban negotiators will likely sign the much-awaited peace agreement after at the end of this week.

Mr. Khairullah said the talks between the US and the group will continue after Eid al-Adha which ends on August 13.

He said that the peace deal between the US and the Taliban will be signed in the presence of representatives of the UN the Islamic Organization and regional countries after the return of the US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad to Doha after Eid (August 14).

Mr. Khalilzad has said that the US is seeking a peace deal which will facilitate a conditions-based withdrawal of American forces from war-ravaged Afghanistan.

But, Mr. Petraeus describes Afghanistan’s situation as complicated due to the presence of "20 foreign terrorist organizations, including al Qaeda and ISIS", who "will not join a peace deal".

US President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
in many occasions in the last few months has mentioned that he will withdraw his troops from Afghanistan as he has spent billions of dollars for the longest war in US history.

Mr. Petraeus says that "the idea that the US can leave if the Taliban promise to combat rather than conspire with these groups is wrongheaded".

He says that the Taliban have clearly indicated what they will try to do once US forces are gone: overthrow the Afghan government and reimpose medieval rule.

Their resistance to a formal cease-fire, continued barbaric attacks on civilians, and opposition to elections scheduled for this fall are all warning signs, he says.

As an alternative, Mr. Petraeus, suggests that it should be recognized that the US doesn’t need a plan for leaving but a strategy for staying‐one that carefully minimizes American, coalition and Afghan costs and casualties but accepts the necessity of a sustained and sustainable troop presence to safeguard vital US interests.

He says that the Trump administration should apply the lessons of that tragic experience ‐ during the B.O. regime ‐ to the present situation in South Asia.

He concludes that the kind of US withdrawal that was inadvisable in Iraq eight years ago would be indefensible for Afghanistan today.

Sources familiar with US-Taliban talks say that the intra-Afghan negotiation ‐ which will take place after a peace agreement is signed between the United States and the Taliban ‐ will be held in Oslo where the two sides will discuss a ceasefire among other relevant topics.

For now, the US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad has said that the focus will be to reduce violence in Afghanistan.

#1  He says that the Taliban have clearly indicated what they will try to do once US forces are gone: overthrow the Afghan government and reimpose medieval rule.

He's probably right.

The problem is that Petraeus has advocated imposing key aspects of 'medieval rule' on Western nations in order to appease the enemy.

'Medieval rule' in Afghanistan only is preferable to 'medieval rule' in Afghanistan and the West.

#2  Do we still care what General Petraeus, ret. has to say?
If he is right, "Yes!"
I hate peace deals.
A peace deal with terrorists like the Taliban is worthless.
Until the Taliban is defeated the drone strikes should continue.
I share all of Petraeus' concerns.
But I have an even bigger concern than Muslim terrorists.
A worse concern is that an appeaser should become POTUS.
All Democrats scare me more than the Taliban.
God forbid a Democrat be in power of my own country again like just recently.

#7  Afghans are fierce warriors when fighting for lands and family. The US and allied presence have so far at least taught them what is at stake. Continued supply of armaments and funding (to the right parties) can see to it that they get a fighting chance.

No one on earth will suffer a Taliban governed landmass the size of Afghanistan to exist next to Pakistain. This situation doesn't require the US to concentrate so much on it. Eventually, everyone in Asia will have to step up and contain the turbans. Even if not, there will likely be a conflict for control between Taliban and the Pakistain military-politician nexus. And Pak will bleed for it. Which is just as well.

The truth about Taliban leadership is, their convictions are ultimately as hollow as their personas. Meaning they are as mercenary as a Chinese factory owner skimming money and doling pennies for life endangering labour. Their seasonal loyalties are negotiable.

In time, this dynamic has got to implode, faced with economic realities and the rolling-on of modernism. There will be a very violent fight, yes. But Afghan nationalism is now firmly rooted, it will not give up with a whimper. Petraeus may be rightly apprehensive of the Taliban plan to ravage when you leave, but he underestimates the momentum of a people now inclined to self-rule rather than be intimidated by the camel dung collective.

#12  I think it was Clausewitz who prescribed a gradated scheme of preference while launching new wars or entering conflicts, on the basis of 'exceptional rewards' only. In most cases that came after Korea, the US has been jumping into conflict where have been neither 'exceptional rewards', nor any gratitude by those liberated or protected.

My point with the Afghan people is, there's no takeaway again. Even if you remain and 'manage expectations' to kingdom come, at the cost of troops' lives and the taxpayers' money, these are not people who cannot be turned again, to hate you later for some reason.

They have learnt enough about how profitable a legal, systematized government can be, for some. They have been trained and armed enough. Now let the Pashtun fight the pashtun over and over again until Asian govts have to intervene. China will certainly have its tiny hands mired in goo for a negotiating with turbans, and they'll leech those chicom coffers dry.

Car bomb in Libyan city of Benghazi kills two UN staff
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A boom-mobile in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on Saturday killed two UN staff, several medical sources said.

A Rooters news hound at a Benghazi hospital saw a list of names of those killed identifying them as working for the United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
Libya mission (UNSMIL).

UNSMIL front man Jean el-Alam said via email that the organization was "in the process of gathering information".

The explosion happened in front of a shopping mall and bank.

At least one burned out UN car could be seen at the scene.

Around the time of the blast, the chief of the eastern-based Libyan National Army (LNA), Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. LNA spokesman Ahmed Mismari told reporters the two people killed were guards with the United Nations Libya mission (UNSMIL). He added that 10 people had been wounded, including children.

UNSMIL spokesman Jean El Alam said via email that the organization was "in the process of gathering information." He could not be reached for further comment.

Afghan Forces Step Up Security Over Eid
[ToloNews] Interior Ministry’s front man says Afghan forces are fully ready to ensure the safety of the people during Eid days.

Officials from ministries of Interior and Defense on Saturday assured that Afghan forces are fully ready to ensure people’s safety during the three days of Eid al-Adha.

The security forces will be in a special status during the Eid days, the Defense Ministry front man Rohullah Ahmadzai said at a presser.

"The security and defense forces will leave no stone unturned to ensure people’s safety during the Eid days and thwart terrorists’ attacks," Mr. Ahmadzai said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the desert island, Irene was indignant at the thought of doing such a thing without benefit of clergy...
Interior Ministry’s front man Nusrat Rahimi said that the police force members are fully ready to repel any type of threat from Death Eaters.

He called on the people to cooperate with police and inform them if they see any suspect.

"Security forces will continue their efforts implement proper measures for security as per the expectation of the people of Afghanistan," Mr. Rahimi said.

Afghans will observe Eid al-Adha from Sunday to Tuesday.

This comes after Taliban
...Arabic for students...
leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada in an Eid message called on members of the group to give protection to the people during Eid days.

"My instructions to you are that you give full attention to protecting, helping and comforting your believing nation during Eid days. Take all necessary steps for the well-being and security of your fellow compatriots. Visit the families of deaders, disabled and prisoners and assist them to the best of your capabilities," Mr. Akhundzada wrote, a day after the Taliban boom-mobile in Kabul killed scores of Afghans.

Mr. Akhundzada who like his predecessor Mullah Mohammad Blinky Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. Died of an unspecified ailment in a Pak hospital...
refrains to appear in public has also talked about the grinding of the peace processor and said that the Taliban are tackling the peace talks seriously.

But the Afghan government on Thursday, August 8, said that the Eid felicitation message by the Taliban leader smells war and panic as the reclusive Death Eater commander asks his fighters to ensure the safety of the people during Eid days.

Security In Balkh Highway Concerning: Residents
[ToloNews] A member of Balkh Provincial Council said Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
has established checkpoints along the Balkh-Jawzjan highway.

Insecurity is increasing in in Balkh highway due to the presence of the Taliban where they stop vehicles traveling and take money from drivers, residents of the northern province claimed.

The highway connects Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul
...a city and eponymous province in northern Afghanistan, population about 500,000. Demographically it is majority Tadjik and Uzbek. There are small Pashtun, Arab, and Hazara communities, of which the Hazaras mostly don't bother anyone...
and Faryab provinces with Balkh.

"When you travel from here [Balkh] to Jawzjan, you are not sure that you will safely arrive at your distance," said Maroof, a Faryab resident.

"The drivers and passengers are forced to pay money when they travel through the highway," said Farhad, a Balkh resident.

Drivers did not comment on the record due to threats to their lives but said that the Taliban often establish checkpoints on the highway and take money from them.

"At least 3,000 trucks are working in the Dara-e-Soof [district] (where coal deposits are located]. They should pay Afs6,000 [$74] to Afs7,000 [$87] to the Taliban every month. The same situation is dominant in Mazar-Shibirghan highway but it is a little less. Taliban are extorting from all trucks," said Sayed Abdullah Masroor, deputy head of Balkh Provincial Council.

In a recent incident, the Taliban attacked a security outpost on the highway in which four members of the group were killed, Balkh police front man Adil Shah Adil said.

"We had many operations in Balkh-Jawzjan highway this month. We established five bases along the highway to ensure the safety of the highway and nearby villages," he said.

The Balkh-Jawzjan highway connects other provinces with Aqina Port. Its closure, according to critics, will damage Afghan investors financially.

But it listed "four conditions".

It said the ceasefire must be observed "in all combat zones, with a cessation of direct and indirect fire and movement of troops".

It said the truce must include "a ban on flights and reconnaissance overflights across the entire (Libyan) airspace as well as a halt to flights from airbases".

One person hurt in Norway mosque shooting, suspect arrested
[IsraelTimes] Shooter described as ’white man with a helmet and uniform’ carrying multiple weapons; police say condition of victim is not clear.

A gunman armed with multiple weapons went on a shooting spree in a mosque in a suburb of the Norwegian capital Oslo on Saturday, injuring one worshiper before being arrested, police and witnesses said.
"spree"?
The head of the mosque described the assailant as white and said he was wearing a helmet and a uniform.

"One person is shot. The severity of that person’s injuries is unknown. One suspect is arrested. The police are working at the location," Oslo police said on Twitter.

The shooting occurred at the al-Noor Islamic centre in the town of Baerum, an Oslo suburb.

Police said there was no indication that more people were involved.

They said they had no information about the suspect, other than he was described as "white".

"One of our members has been shot by a white man with a helmet and uniform," Irfan Mushtaq, head of the mosque, told local newspaper Budstikka.

He later told broadcaster TV2 that the man had carried multiple weapons.

"An ethnically Norwegian man with a shotgun and pistols entered the mosque and broke glass windows. He started shooting around him," Mushtaq said.

Public broadcaster NRK reported that police had found multiple weapons inside the mosque, and that someone in the building had managed to subdue the suspect before police arrived on the scene.

The Norwegian Police Security Service (PST) said it was monitoring the situation.

"We’re following the events and are continuously evaluating. It’s to early to draw any conclusions," Martin Bernsen, information director at PST, told NRK.
Breitbart adds:
The victim, reportedly a 75-year-old man, was shot but according to police speaking to NRK, the injuries are not life-threatening.

“The man carried two shotgun-like weapons and a pistol. He broke through a glass door and fired shots,” Mr Mushtaq told TV 2.

At the time of the attack, three men were in the building praying: the septuagenarian and two other men. When they saw the perpetrator, the two other men fled to safety while the 75-year-old man “was quick and grabbed him immediately”, Mr Mushtaq said.

“He overpowered him while he was shooting. He ended up in a scuffle with the perpetrator, and was punched in the eye while trying to gain control,” he continued, adding that one of the other men returned and hit the gunman over the back of the head, overpowering him.
Deutsche Welle adds:
Authorities said a suspect had been arrested and there was no indication more people were involved. "It is a Norwegian young man, with a Norwegian background. He lives in the vicinity," police spokesman Rune Skjold told a press conference late Saturday.

Skjold added that the suspect had been known to police before the incident but could not be described as someone with a "criminal background."
Known but not criminal? That leaves only that he was a volunteer junior policeman as a boy or that he was noticeably nuts.
Oslo police originally posted on Twitter that one person had been shot, but then later said that one person had sustained "minor injuries." It was unclear whether these were gunshot wounds.

A woman related to the suspected gunman was later found dead in a home near where the attack took place. "We consider this a suspicious death... The dead person is related to the man arrested earlier today," Skjold told reporters.
The dead relative definitely argues for nuttery rather than junior copper.

They targeted the airport's fuel depot and control tower, he said.

There was no confirmation from Saudi authorities but a Saudi-owned, Dubai-based TV channel, al-Arabiya, said air traffic at the airport was normal.

Europe
Danish capital hit by second blast in four days
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] An explosion occurred outside a local cop shoppe in Copenhagen, police said, in the second blast to hit the Danish capital in four days.

No one was injured in the blast, which happened outside a mobile cop shoppe in the Norrebro, just outside the city center, police said.

On Tuesday, one person was slightly injured in a kaboom outside the Danish Tax Agency’s office in Copenhagen, in what police said was a deliberate attack.

Police told Rooters it was too early to say whether the two blasts were connected, but could not immediately comment further.

Police were searching for a man running from the scene of the blast, Ekstra Bladet said.

Serious attacks or violence are rare in the small Nordic country of 5.7 million people that prides itself on a reputation for safety and social tolerance.
And from The Local.dk:
The Danish Tax Agency was attacked using commercially available explosives rather than a home-made bomb, a preliminary analysis carried out by the Copenhagen Police has found.

"The preliminary analysis shows we are are probably talking about explosives of the type used, among other things, for industrial purposes, for example for demolition work or similar tasks," Jørgen Bergen Skov, chief inspector of the Copenhagen Police, said in a press release issued on Friday afternoon.

Skov said that the explosives had been placed about 60cm from the entrance of the agency.

The blast on Tuesday night left the agency's metal front entrance bent completely out of shape and shattered almost all of the windows on the facade.

Peter Hald, a researcher at Aarhus University, said his guess was that the explosives had been brought into Denmark from overseas.

"I'm convinced it's come from abroad. Norway or Sweden is my best guess, but the Balkans are my second best guess, as they have been major suppliers of weapons and explosives," he told Danish state broadcaster DR.

Hald said that the rocky landscapes found in Norway and Sweden meant there was a greater need for explosives in road and house construction than in Denmark.

According to police in Malmö, across the Øresund Bridge from Copenhagen, industrial explosives have over the past year been used frequently in gangland attacks, replacing the powerful bangers and hand grenades used in previous years.

Remembering 2003: An Exodus Grows in Brooklyn
Part of the reason why we have not had the many massive jihadi attacks we’ve been seeing in Europe, very probably, not to mention all the lone wolves running amok with kitchen knives, is because after 9/11 so many illegal immigrants from the Ummah were deported or just packed up and left. I happened across a report from that time, and thought it worth revisiting. It begins thusly:
[WashingtonPost] The FBI grabbed the cook at Lazzat Pakistani Pizzeria as he spun dough. The plump newsstand man from Lahore rode the D-train to register with the Immigration and Naturalization Service -- and never came back. The owner of Kashmir Travel pulled down his metal gate one night and vanished. His darkened store sits there, paperwork, copiers and gumballs in place.

Qamar, 25, drove his mom, dad and younger brother north a month ago. His brother had a visa problem so his parents decided to apply for asylum in Toronto. Now the younger brother calls Qamar in Brooklyn each night.

"He wanted to know all about prom night at Dewey High School," says Qamar, who asked that his last name not be used. His hair is gelled and brushed forward, his jeans ride low; his affect is Pakistani boyz in the New York 'hood. "He still thinks he's coming back.

"I tell him: 'Hello! Brother, that life's over.' "

Once the mosque on Coney Island Avenue was so crowded on Friday afternoons that white-capped Pakistani taxi drivers and computer analysts placed their prayer rugs on the sidewalk. Once the restaurants were so crowded that scents of saffron and rose water and vindaloo wafted across the broad avenue all night.

Now Little Pakistan in Brooklyn is a neighborhood being pulled up at its roots. Of the 120,000 or so Pakistanis who lived near here, 15,000, maybe more, have left for Canada, Europe or Pakistan, according to Pakistani government estimates. The departures began after Sept. 11, 2001, when federal agents began stopping and detaining hundreds of Pakistanis. The exodus accelerated five months ago when the Department of Homeland Security required that every male Pakistani visa holder age 16 or older register with the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Bangladesh
5 ‘militants’ held in Dhaka
[DailyStar] Police today claimed to have arrested five suspected "self-radicalised" members of what they said a "wolf-pack of Neo-JMB"
.... sometimes called New JMB after the Bangladeshi jihadi group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen. This time it’s linked to ISIS, but still on the Pakistani payroll. Shaykh Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif is the nom de guerre of their big turban, who may be Sajit Debnath aka Muhammad Saifullah Ozaki, the Japanese-Bangladeshi jihadi and former associate professor of Ritsumeikan University. Their big attack was on the Holey Artisan Bakery in 2016...
in Dhaka for allegedly planning to launch attack on law enforcers.

"They were self-radicalised by watching online videos of various bully boy groups, and were planning to launch attacks on law enforcers," said Saiful Islam, deputy commissioner of Counter Terrorism unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The arrestees were identified as Md Shiblee Shahjad alias Sadi, Shah M Asadullah Mortuza Kabir alias Ababil, Masrik Ahmed, Md Ashraful Al Amin alias Tarek and SM Tasnim Rifat, he added.

They were arrested yesterday around 1:45pm from Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital, the police official said.

Madressahs body asks govt to stop data collection of students
[DAWN] Ittehad Tanzeemat-e-Madaris Pakistain (ITMP) has declined to share data of religious seminaries with personnel of any law enforcement agency and warned to announce a protest movement in case the process of data collection is not stopped forthwith.
Lil' Martyrs For Allan™
This was announced by ITMP provincial representatives, including Maulana Hussain Ahmed, Dr Attaur Rehman, Mufti Fazal Jamil Rizvi, Allama Nazir Hussain Mathhari, Maulana Abdul Aziz
...nutball holy man who runs the Lal Masjid in the heart of Pakistain's capital. After instigating a rebellion against the state in 2007, he was caught trying to sneak away dressed in a burka. He rejects democracy as un-Islamic, which it probably is...
and Mufti Sirajul Hassan, while addressing a presser here on Friday.

Sharing details of the agreement signed between the ITMP and government on May 6, 2019, they accused the federal government of failing to set up regional centres for registration of the religious seminaries with ministry of federal education and professional training. They asked for early implementation of the decision to avoid any possible complication.

They said as per the agreement both the parties, the education ministry and heads of religious boards/seminaries, had decided registration of all 30,000 seminaries operating in the country, but the government was yet to fulfill its responsibilities.

The government, they said had assured to facilitate the seminaries in getting registered with vocational training institutions so that their students could acquire vocational/technical education as well. We expected that government will fulfill its promises to provide all necessary patronage to seminaries so that our students could also get maximum chances to get contemporary education besides religious education but no such steps were taken so far, they said.

The ITMP leaders said instead of materialising the agreement the personnel of various law enforcement agencies had started collecting details regarding the students and teachers, saying that visiting the female seminaries and that also at night was not only violation of the agreement but intolerable for ITMP.
Only Madrassah heads can do that, for individual, "hands on" instruction
They said the ITMP was a joint organization of five boards of religious seminaries which was fully determined to work as per the agreement and urged the government to set up the promised regional centres so that the process of seminaries’ registration could be started forthwith.

The ITMP representatives said they were ready to share data of students of all Madaris to ministry of education as per agreement, but won’t allow sharing data, especially of female students, to cop shoppes and other organizations.

#1  The ITMP shelters and diverts funding to several markiz along the Durand line. These markiz belong to splinter tanzeems (stated as seminaries in their plaint)in public record, some of whom are known rogue actors; but actually sponsored by the Pakistain military and overseen by ISI. They recruit and brainwash Pashtun kids, an operation carried forward from the days of Operation Cyclone in the late 80s.

When President Bush decided 'fuck this hellhole' in 1990, most of the refugee youth to Pakistan were being trafficked or sent to the tanzeems for creating an army of ragheads with no target, the US pulled back funding. Since then, they've had to rely on funds routed through ministries of culture and religion, educational bodies, etc. More tanzeems recognized by the Pakistain government means more funds they can get. Each new mullah factorytanzeem tries to impress the ISI by outdoing the rest in producing the next jihad hero. However, the 'Stain find itself repeatedly embarrassed when the breadcrumbs are discovered leading back to these factions. Hence the public denial of status.

The markaz (learning center) provides the whole course - kindergarten scripture learning to elementary islamist training to full jihadi brainwashing, and polytechnique (electronics, basic armed tactics, identity fraud, etc.] from here the pashtuns kids are sent out to various camps within Kunar, Paktia and Badakshan and several locations north of the Nuristan reserve to finish as terrorists under the fighters.

It wouldn't do well to list how many pashtun boys are studying under the tanzeem auspices, now would it ? Especially if many of those boys have their pictures pinned to the 'Missing' board in police stations in Wardak, Baglan and Kabul.

China-Japan-Koreas
N. Korea fires two projectiles into sea off eastern coast, says S. Korea
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
fired two unidentified projectiles into the sea off its eastern coast on Saturday, South Korea’s military said.

The latest launch comes shortly after US President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
said he had received a "very beautiful letter" from North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
North Korea has fired a series of missiles and rockets since Kim and Trump agreed at a June 30 meeting to revive stalled denuclearization talks.

Trump said Kim had said he was "not happy" about the missile tests, which the North Korean leader has said were a response to US-South Korean military drills being held this month.

The United States and South Korea have kicked off their largely computer-simulated exercises as an alternative to previous large-scale annual drills that were halted to expedite denuclearization talks.

North Korea decries such exercises as a rehearsal for war aimed at toppling its leadership.

The projectiles were fired at dawn on Saturday from the area around the northeastern city of Hamhung, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement. Hamhung is known to have a solid-fuel rocket engine production site.
